We're well into the year at this point and, while I didn't expect Season 4 of The Orville to be on the 2025 TV schedule, fans were expecting some official news about its status. Cast member Scott Grimes revealed in the summer of 2024 that Season 4 production would start this year, and yet it's almost May and we still haven't heard any updates on what's happening. Now, Adrianne Palicki is suggesting the exact opposite is happening and that the odds of Seth MacFarlane's sci-fi show returning for Season 4 are slim.

Palicki spoke to MovieWeb at the Dallas International Film Festival ahead of the premiere of her latest movie, The Salamander King. On the topic of whether or not she'll return as Kelly Grayson on The Orville, Palicki shared an answer that now likely isn't what people want to hear if they're hoping to watch Season 4 with a Disney+ subscription anytime soon:

It seems the actress is just as in the dark on whether a new season will happen as we are and, to me, that doesn't sound like good news for The Orville. It also doesn't sound like bad news either, because she's merely stating that she has no idea whether or not a new episodes are being made. Basically, if you've suspected that work on the sci-fi dramedy's forth season hasn't begun or isn't far along, I would imagine that Palicki's comments reflect that.

It's strange that Adrianne Palicki hasn't heard anything about The Orville since the writer's strike but, in fairness, this isn't the first time she's expressed some apprehension about returning to the sci-fi series. Palicki previously confessed she was unsure about doing another season due to Seth MacFarlane's lengthy writing process Season 3.

I think it's possible that Seth MacFarlane is quietly writing Season 4 of The Orville and may be waiting until that project is complete before contacting the cast to share the details. It probably best benefits the actors to have their schedules open rather than waiting around for the scripts to be ready, as they did between the end of Season 2 and the start of Season 3.

Regardless of what may be happening behind the scenes, I can't help but be confused and bummed out about this latest update. It feels like we've taken a step back in what we know about the fourth season, and it seems unlikely we'll ever get some answers about what happens after the finale. Hopefully, we'll receive an update from MacFarlane or another series alum soon and that it makes me feel more hopeful that we haven't seen the last of this show.

Doctor Odyssey has set sail on the 2025 TV schedule, and things were uncertain as ever between Max, Avery and Tristan when we reunited with the cruise ship’s medical staff on “Shark Attack!” Surprisingly, though, they weren’t the only ones performing surgeries after a trio of the titular events, with Adrianne Palicki guest-starring as trauma surgeon Brooke Lane. Sparks flew immediately between Brooke and Max — much to Avery’s displeasure — and Joshua Jackson discussed what it all means as Avery continues to process her pregnancy.

Joshua Jackson has been channeling his inner Pacey, with Max getting involved in a throuple of sorts with Avery (Phillipa Soo) and Tristan (Sean Teale). Well, “throuple” might be too formal of a word, but they’re definitely something after their threesome led to Avery becoming pregnant with no way to know which one is the father. Further complicating the matter was Brooke, who followed a double-amputation surgery by straight-up asking Max to have sex with her. Avery interrupted them (of course), and Jackson talked to Collider about the tricky situation, saying:

So Max is threatened by a doctor more qualified than him in this shark-related arena, and Avery — who called him out for “surgery flirting with hot shark doctor” — doesn’t like that Brooke obviously wants to take a bite out of the possible father to her child.

By the way, “surgery flirting with hot shark doctor” was my favorite phrase of the episode, and I hope we can all find more occasions to use it.

As for Brooke, Joshua Jackson continued:

I’m not sure how long Brooke the Little Atomic Bomb will be a complication in the Max-Avery-Tristan triangle, with one more week of shark business before Angela Bassett boards the ship for the big 9-1-1 crossover. Any way you slice it, though, everything changed for the Odyssey’s medical staff when they learned about Avery’s pregnancy, Joshua Jackson said:

The whole situation was already so wild, I sure wasn’t expecting another woman — Adrianne Palicki at that! — showing up as a romantic threat to Avery so soon. More savagery is on the docket for next week’s episode, but will the sharks be the only thing biting? Tune in at 9 p.m. ET Thursday, March 13, on ABC to find out.

Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. has been off the air for a few years now, though it’s still widely discussed in some circles. The series is partly well known for allowing fans weekly visits into the Marvel Cinematic Universe in between the franchise’s big-screen installments. Though it drew from storylines initiated in the movies, it also established lore of its own, and that was nearly expanded upon through a spinoff series. S.H.I.E.L.D. was going to get a sister program called Marvel’s Most Wanted, though it didn’t pan out. With that, we’re going to discuss the story behind the project, including why it never made it to the small screen. 

The spinoff centered on two characters from S.H.I.E.L.D. One of them was Bobbi Morse a.k.a. Mockingbird, who was played brilliantly by Adrienne Palicki. Alongside her would’ve been the character’s ex-husband, the droll mercenary Lance Hunter, portrayed by Nick Blood. Palicki and Blood had great chemistry and became fan-favorites on the parent show. So the notion of putting them at the forefront of their own series was wise (on paper). So what happened? Well, it’s time to discuss just that. 

When And How Were Bobbi And Hunter Written Out Of Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D.?

Of course, with the characters getting a new show, the actors weren’t going to be able to pull double duty, so Bobbi and Hunter had to be ushered out of S.H.I.E.L.D. That happened during the Season 3 episode “Parting Shot,” (which is available to stream with a Disney+ subscription). The 2013 installment uses both flashbacks and flashforwards, with the former focusing on Phil Coulson and his team’s efforts to thwart HYDRA operative Gideon Malick’s collusion with Russian officials to create an Inhuman sanctuary. The mission doesn’t go as planned, though Hunter and Bobbi manage to kill the antagonistic Anton Petrov and Androvech, respectively. However, the ordeal ends with the two being arrested by Russian agents. 

The flashforwards show the pair being interrogated in the hopes that they admit their connection to the titular agency and confess to killing the Russian bigwigs. That way, the country would have cause to wage war on the United States. Morse and Hunter contend that they were on vacation and simply got wrapped up in the incident by chance. And in order to keep their allies safe and prevent a war, they hold onto that narrative even when Coulson offers to extract them. The two are ultimately saved from death by Matthew Ellis and Phil Coulson (posing as an Advanced Threat Containment Unit aid). However, as part of the deal to not have them executed, Hunter and Bobbi must agree to never work for the U.S. government again – a condition they agree to. 

Relieved of their positions, the two later sit in a bar and discuss what kind of future they might have now that agents from multiple countries will likely be monitoring them moving forward. While doing so, they spot their friends – Coulson, Melinda May, Daisy “Quake” Johnson, Alphonso “Mack” Mackenzie, Jemma Simmons and Leo Fitz. The spies are all situated around different parts of the pub and silently say goodbye to their colleagues by taking “parting shots.” It’s still one of the most bittersweet moments in the show’s entire seven-season run and was a solid send-off for the two beloved characters. But again, there was meant to be more to their story.

How Did Marvel’s Most Wanted Come Together And Why Didn’t The Series Happen?

Some may not remember, but Mockingbird alone was originally set to get a show, which was mentioned as being in development back in 2011 – two years before Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. hit ABC. Plans apparently changed by 2015 though, as principal Agents cast members Adrianne Palicki and Nick Blood were eyed for a spinoff. In May of that year, the network passed on the production, and it was decided that the characters would remain on the parent show. S.H.I.E.L.D showrunner Jeffrey Bell and writer Paul Zbyszewski, who had been spearheading the project, didn’t give up on it, though. And by early 2016, the spinoff received great news when it was reported that a pilot had been ordered. 

Production on the pilot began shortly after “Parting Shot” was filmed, as Jeffrey Bell confirmed to IGN back in 2016. The production was directed by Billy Gierhart, whose credits include Torchwood, S.W.A.T. and The Walking Dead. The story – written by Bell and Paul Zbyszewski – centered on Adrianne Palicki’s Bobbi and Nick Blood’s Hunter dealing with a conspiracy surrounding them. Unable to call on their former allies for help, they form an alliance with a treasure hunter (and classic Marvel Comics character) named Nick Fortune for protection. Fortune was played by veteran actor Delroy Lindo (who’s currently part of Marvel’s Blade cast). Rounding out the roster of talent were Fernanda Andrade as Christina Santos, Fortune’s niece, and The Mummy’s Oded Fehr as an unnamed villain. 

Filming was reportedly completed in late March, with the pilot later submitted to the studio for consideration. Unfortunately, when it came time for TV upfronts in 2016, the alphabet network decided to pass on it. Channing Dungey – who was the head of ABC Entertainment Group at the time – explained the rationale behind the decision while speaking before the Television Critics’ Association that year (via /Film):

The exec also mentioned that she and the network “certainly [were] open” to Marvel finding another home for the show. That never came to be, however, and the pilot went unaired.

What Happened In The Aftermath Of The Spinoff’s Demise?

Amid the spinoff’s development, various fans kept up with its progress and were seemingly keen on the idea. So many were, as a result, disappointed when the network chose to scrap the idea. Around late summer 2016, fans launched a petition to save the spinoff. The petition notched 2,269 signatures before it closed, but the efforts of those who participated ultimately proved to be futile.

Adrianne Palicki sadly never reappeared on Agents as Bobbi Morse, she did express interest in playing Mockingbird again in 2019. Nick Blood, however, did reprise his role as Hunter in the Season 5 episode “Rewind,” which aired in 2017. In it, he assists former comrade Leo Fitz in escaping a military facility and obtaining a cryogenic pod so he can join his friends, who had been transported to the year 2091. Amid the episode, Hunter confirms to Fitz that he and Bobbi are still together but take breaks from each other on occasion. And before Fitz puts himself to sleep in the pod, Hunter promises that he and Bobbi will look after Inhuman Robin Hinton and her mother, Polly. 

It’s a shame that that ended up being the last viewers ever got to see or hear for Bobbi Morse and Lance Hunter within this continuity. Personally, I would’ve loved to have seen them forge their own paths in Most Wanted. Things happen as they do for a reason, I suppose, though. If anything, I’m just happy I can still revisit the characters’ best episodes on Disney+.

It's unbelievable that we're still waiting to hear whether or not The Orville will return for Season 4 or if the Seth MacFarlane series is over. Desperate for answers, fans have grasped at any little details they learn from actors or creatives about the potential future of the streaming series. On that note, we have some new insight into the situation from actress Adrianne Palicki, who was brutally honest about why shooting the show was difficult. 

Palicki, who plays Kelly Grayson on The Orville, talked about the difficulties of shooting the sci-fi show, which may factor into why it hasn't been renewed or canceled yet, on Inside of You with Michael Rosenbaum. The actress initially implied the show was finished, but when Rosenbaum asked her if that was definitive, she responded with what she knew and why shooting the show was an issue:

These recent comments imply there's a greater story to be told behind the problem of renewing The Orville. Seth MacFarlane got real about it taking so long back in March, noting that the shift in the industry factors into why it's taking so long to return. However, Adrianne Palicki has pointed toward a different issue in making the series happen. Thirty-three episodes in six years is a sizable gap in production, and it can put a financial strain on actors who are hanging around waiting to work.

It's possible MacFarlane's busy schedule does impact the rate The Orville can produce episodes, especially given the amount of control he has over the series. Fans are eager for Season 4 to the point they commented on his Ted reveal to make it clear to the star. While Chad L. Coleman's positive update chalked the delay up to studio decision-making, Adrianne Palicki's comments show more nuance to the situation. 

While Palicki didn't explicitly say whether or not she was interested in returning to The Orville for Season 4, there was a definite sense she wasn't thrilled about the show taking six years to make three seasons. It's possible some compromise will need to be made in how production moves forward, though what that means is up in the air. 

Potentially, Seth MacFarlane could relinquish more creative control to streamline the writing process or shift his schedule to knock out a couple of seasons of the series. This would allow the actors to pursue other projects while those seasons air, and keep anyone off saltines and Gatorade for survival. If there was a simple solution to all of this, it's probable we'd have an answer on whether the series was renewed or not by now. As such, we can only take these latest comments and add them to the list, and share that hilariously relatable video of Penny Johnson Jerald wanting some answers on the situation.  

As mentioned, The Orville is currently available to stream with a Disney+ subscription or a Hulu subscription. Check out a few episodes while we continue to wait for some sort of meaningful update on Season 4's status, and hope that whatever news comes is positive. 

The Orville: New Horizons is taking some narrative leaps in Season 3 and really leaning into serious storylines that further the arcs of its characters. Among such advancements, viewers might wonder whether or not the end of the season will feature some big developments for crew members like Ed Mercer and Kelly Grayson, who have displayed temporary flashes where it seemed they could rekindle the romantic feelings they shared after their divorce that occurred before the events of the show. Fans have long wondered if they’ll ever get back together, and Seth MacFarlane shared his perspective on that in a recent interview. 

Adrianne Palicki's Kelly and MacFarlane's Ed haven’t made any major strides in advancing their relationship on a romantic level in Season 3 of The Orville, and it might very well stay that way. Speaking with TVLine, Seth MacFarlane revealed how he changed direction for the characters' story in that respect, and that he had a good reason for doing so. In his words:

Ed and Kelly have a great dynamic as Captain and First Officer, and it’s looking like it will remain that way on The Orville: New Horizons. Seth MacFarlane didn’t give any indication that he intended to have them get back together, and with Season 4's chances relying heavily on steady viewership from anybody with a Hulu subscription, there’s a big chance they could keep their current dynamic going until the end of the series. 

With that said, Seth MacFarlane and the cast of The Orville: New Horizons haven’t been privy to revealing anything that might be considered a spoiler in this latest season. In that respect, there’s a definite possibility that fans will see some romantic development between Ed and Kelly before the season’s end, even if it doesn't turn into anything longterm and permanent. Since MacFarlane isn’t too willing to dole out extra information before upcoming episodes air, we'll just have to keep the faith while waiting. 

The Orville has certainly been privy to romances between its walls prior, though not so much with Ed and Kelly. LaMarr and Talla recently entered a steamy (and painful) relationship, and there’s a chance we’ll see that develop further in the future, assuming they can overcome one big hurdle, and that LaMarr gets showcased in more episodes. 

As for Ed and Kelly, there is some speculation that Ed could face fatal consequences, considering Seth MacFarlane and co-star Scott Grimes are working on a Ted series together. That, paired with the fact that The Orville: New Horizons might be the final season of the series should Hulu opt out of renewal, makes the odds slightly higher that we’ll won't see the crew together after this season, romantically or otherwise. Hulu originally picked up the series due to loyal viewing on the platform, however, so it seems that means Season 4 is a definite possibility. In short, there's hope for Kelly and Ed fans yet, even if Seth MacFarlane likes what he's doing with the characters now. 

The Orville: New Horizons streams on Hulu on Thursdays. Season 3 is hands-down the best season to date, so now is as good a time as any to tune in and see where this season ends up. Personally, I’m hoping for many more seasons with Ed and the crew, but I can’t deny I’m a little worried to see what’s coming up as the Kaylon war continues.

Bissinger's best-selling non-fiction book, which also inspired the 2004 film, featured acclaimed performances from Connie Britton and Aimee Teegarden. It also launched the careers of future big-league stars like Michael B. Jordan, Jesse Plemons, Minka Kelly, Taylor Kitsch, Adrianne Palicki, and Jurnee Smollett. With its 10-year anniversary crossed, let's see what Friday Night Lights' star-studded cast is doing now.

Kyle Chandler (Eric Taylor)

As Eric Taylor, the head coach of the Dillon Panthers, Kyle Chandler won an Emmy playing the protagonist of NBC's Friday Night Lights. Prior to his time on this show, Chandler starred in Early Edition, Homefront, What About Joan?, and The Lyon's Den. Following his time on Friday Night Lights, Chandler gave a two-time Emmy-nominated performance in Bloodline. He was also Emmy-nominated for his guest turn in Grey's Anatomy. In the role of Tami Taylor, a guidance counselor at Dillon High and the wife of Eric Taylor, Connie Britton gave a two-time Emmy-nominated performance in Friday Night Lights. Away from this series, Britton gave an Emmy-nominated performance as Rayna Jaymes in Nashville. She also received an Emmy nomination for her work in American Horror Story. Additionally, Britton starred in 9-1-1, Dirty John, and Spin City.

Away from television, Connie Britton appeared in Friday Night Lights (2004), Me and Earl and the Dying Girl, Bombshell, Professor Marston and the Wonder Woman, Seeking a Friend for the End of the World, The To Do List, This Is Where I Leave You, A Nightmare on Elm Street (2010), and Beatriz at Dinner. Most recently, Britton was seen in Promising Young Woman. She was also heard in Pandemica. Next, Britton will appear in Joe Bell and The White Lotus.

Aimee Teegarden (Julie Taylor)

Playing the part of Julie Taylor, the eldest Taylor daughter, Aimee Teegarden is a liberal-minded character in Friday Night Lights. Following her time in this show, Teegarden starred in the short-lived Star-Crossed, as well as Notorious. Her other television credits include The Ranch, 90210, Robot Chicken, CSI, Legend of the Seeker, Hannah Montana, CSI: Miami, and Cold Case. Away from TV, Teegarden starred in Prom and Rings. Michael B. Jordan (Vince Howard)

As Vince Howard, a troubled teenager who becomes the football team's leader through Coach Taylor's guidance, Michael B. Jordan played a primary part on Friday Night Lights for the show's final two seasons. Discovering his breakout role in The Wire, Jordan found fame after Friday Night Lights with his star performances in Chronicle, Fruitvale Station, Just Mercy (which he produced), and the Creed movies. The actor also stole the show as Erik Killmonger in Marvel's Black Panther. His other film credits include That Awkward Moment, Fantastic Four (2015), Red Tails, Hardball, and Black and White. Additionally, Jordan can be seen in All My Children, Parenthood, and Raising Dion.

Most recently, Michael B. Jordan produced and starred in Tom Clancy's Without Remorse. The actor also lent his voice for Love, Death & Robots. Next, he'll be heard in What If. Currently, Jordan is filming a role in Denzel Washington's A Journal for Jordan. He'll also expected to star in Danny Boyle's Methuselah. Additionally, Jordan reprises his titular role in Creed III, which serves as the actor's directorial debut.

Jesse Plemons (Landry Clarke)

In the role of Landry Clarke, a well-studied student-turned-football standout, Jesse Plemons plays a transformative character in Friday Night Lights. Shortly after his time in this show, Plemons played Todd Alquist in Breaking Bad, which is a role that he reprised in El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie. He also received an Emmy nomination for playing Ed Blumquist in Fargo Season 2. Furthermore, Plemons received another Emmy nomination for his performance in Black Mirror. Plemons' other TV credits include Olive Kitteridge and Drunk History.

Away from television, Jesse Plemons starred in Other People. He also appeared in The Irishman, Game Night, Vice, Bridge of Spies, Black Mass, The Master, Observe and Report, Varsity Blues, and The Post. Taylor Kitsch (Tim Riggins)

Playing the part of Tim Riggins, the party-loving fullback of the Dillion Panthers, Taylor Kitsch found his first brush with fame in Friday Night Lights. Following this NBC series, Kitsch played the titular role in John Carter and starred in Battleship, Savages, Lone Survivor, The Grand Seduction, and Only the Brave. His other film credits include X-Men Origins: Wolverine, American Assassin, 21 Bridges, John Tucker Must Die, Snakes on a Plane, and The Covenant. Additionally, Kitsch appeared in HBO's The Normal Heart.

Away from film, Taylor Kitsch played Paul Woodrugh in True Detective Season 2. Later, the actor earned acclaim for portraying David Koresh in Waco, which Kitsch produced. Most recently, Kitsch starred in Shadowplay. Currently, Kitsch is filming Amazon Prime's The Terminal List. Additionally, he's signed on to star in Neill Blomkamp's Inferno.

Jurnee Smollett (Jess Merriweather)

As Jess Merriweather, the East Dillon Spirit Squad leader and the former girlfriend of Landry Clarke and Vince Howard, Jurnee Smollett played a primary character in the last two seasons of Friday Night Lights. Away from this NBC series, Smollett played Nicole Wright on True Blood. Additionally, the actress was a series regular on Underground, The Defenders, Wanda at Large, and On Our Own. Her other TV credits include Grey's Anatomy, Parenthood, Do No Harm, and Full House. She's also heard in Sofia the First.

Away from TV, Jurnee Smollett played Eve Batiste in Eve's Bayou. She also starred in Temptation: Confessions of a Marriage Counselor. Her other film credits include The Great Debaters, Gridiron Gang, Hands of Stone, Roll Bounce, and One Last Thing. Most recently, Smollett starred in HBO's Lovecraft Country. Minka Kelly (Lyla Garrity)

In the role of Lyla Garrity, a smart, bubbly cheerleader infatuated with Jason Street, Minka Kelly played a primary character in Friday Night Lights for four seasons. Away from this show, Kelly played Gaby in Parenthood, Valerie Stahl in Almost Human, and Eve French in Charlie Angels (2011). Her other TV credits include What I Like About You, Jane the Virgin, and Drunk History. Currently, Kelly plays the part of Dawn Granger/Dove in HBO Max's Titans. The actress also starred in Hallmark Channel's The Beach House.

Additionally, on the big screen, Minka Kelly starred in The Roommate. She also played Jackie Kennedy in The Butler. Her other notable film credits include (500) Days of Summer, The Kingdom, Papa: Hemingway in Cuba, Just Go With It, Searching for Sonny, and Naked. Adrianne Palicki (Tyra Collette)

Playing the part of Tyra Collette, a self-thinking woman who doesn't care about football in a sports-obsessed town, Adrianne Palicki is a strong-willed girl in Friday Night Lights. Outside of this series, Palicki plays Barbara "Bobbi" Morse in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and Commander Kelly Grayson in The Orville. Her other notable TV credits include Supernatural, Robot Chicken, From Dusk till Dawn: The Series, and Supernatural.

Away from TV, Adrianne Palicki played Ms. Perkins in John Wick. She also appeared in G.I. Joe: Retaliation, S.W.A.T.: Under Siege, Legion, Elektra Luxx, and Red Dawn (2012). Most recently, Palicki was seen in the short film, Thoughts and Prayers. Next, Palicki is expected to appear in The Orville Season 3, which was picked up by Hulu, and With/In.

Scott Porter (Jason Street)

As Jason Street, a quarterback for the Dillion Panthers, Scott Porter plays a protege player in NBC's Friday Night Lights. Outside of this show, Porter played George Tucker in Hart of Dixie. He also played Blake Calamar in The Good Wife and Nestor Williams in Caprica. His other television credits include Scorpion, Why Women Kill, and As the World Turns. Additionally, the voice actor has a recurring role in Harley Quinn. He can be heard in Avengers Assemble and Ultimate Spider-Man.

Gaius Charles (Brian “Smash” Williams)

In the role of Brian "Smash" Williams, the confident running back for the Panthers, Gaius Charles played a joke-loving, career-driven star athlete on Friday Night Lights. Following this show, Charles played Dr. Shane Ross in Grey's Anatomy. He was also a series regular on Taken and Aquarius. Additionally, he had a recurring role in God Friended Me.

Additionally, in film, Gaius Charles can be seen in Salt, The Messenger, The Stanford Prison Experiment, and Takers. Most recently, the television actor provided a recurring role in Roswell, New Mexico. Next, Charles will be seen in Land of Dreams and Alice.

Matt Lauria (Luke Cafferty)

Playing the part of Luke Cafferty, a newcomer to the East Dillion team, Matt Lauria is a hard-working personality in Friday Night Lights. Outside of this series, Lauria played Ryan York in Parenthood, Ryan Wheeler in Kingdom, and Ben Newton in Dickinson.

Additionally, Matt Lauria played main roles in Tell Me a Story, Little Birds, Traitors, and The Chicago Code, as well as a recurring role in Lipstick Jungle. In film, he appears in Miss Bala (2019), Ma (2015), and Shaft (2019). Next, Lauria is seen in CSI: Vegas and To Leslie.

Dora Madison (Becky Sproles)

As Becky Sproles, Luke's girlfriend, Dora Madison, a.k.a. Madison Burge, played a recurring role in Season 4, followed by a lead part in Season 5, in Friday Night Lights. Elsewhere, Madison starred in Chicago Fire. She was also a series regular on What Would Diplo Do? and a recurring player on Dexter, Star-Crossed, and Chicago Med.

On the big screen, meanwhile, Dora Madison starred in Bliss. Also, Madison appeared in Everybody Wants Some!!, The Loft, Song to Song, Divine Access, and Night of the Babysitter, which she also produced. Most recently, Madison appeared in VFW. Next, the actress will be seen in Lapsis.

Zach Gilford (Matt Saracen) 

Playing a main role in Friday Night Lights' first three seasons and a recurring role in the final two, Zach Gilford portrayed Matt Saracen, a rising quarterback for the Dillon Panthers. He was also a love interest to Julie Taylor. While Friday Night Lights wasn't Gilford's first screen credit, it was certainly one of the roles that took his career to the next level. Since the NBC drama wrapped up, Zach Gilford has gone on to take on a number of TV roles, the most recent of which include Good Girls and the part of Ben Walker on L.A.'s Finest. 

On the big screen, Zach Gilford appeared in the Arnold Schwarzenegger film The Last Stand, and played a starring role in The Purge: Anarchy.  Coming up, he's among the cast of the Netflix horror series Midnight Mass.

Adrianne Palicki became well known to superhero fans for her role as Bobbi Morse/Mockingbird on Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. However, by this point, many may know that she was originally set to play Wonder Woman for NBC in 2011. Ultimately, the network passed on the pilot, and it hasn’t seen the light of day since. The experience may have been short-lived for Palicki, but it’s one that she still relishes to this day. Recently, the actress reflected on how she felt about playing her own iteration of the iconic hero.

Portraying a character like Wonder Woman can certainly be daunting, especially when you’re following in the footsteps of someone like Lynda Carter. Adrianne Palicki definitely felt the trepidation that came with playing the part, but she loved it regardless:

NBC’s Wonder Woman put a unique spin on the DC Comics mythos in that it gave the character three aliases. The first was that of Wonder Woman, a Los Angeles-based superhero who protects the innocent. The second was Wonder Woman’s very visible alter ego, Diana Themyscira, who finances her heroics by running a company that produces Wonder Woman merchandise. And the final part of this triumvirate is the hero’s true secret identity, Diana Prince, an unassuming young woman who lives a modest lifestyle.

Palicki told EW that she loved being able to play three distinct characters and credits the complexity of the characters to scribe who wrote the pilot, eventual Big Little Lies creator David E. Kelly:

While Adrianne Palicki has previously stated that she was disappointed when the pilot didn’t get picked up, it appears that she still looks back fondly on the project. Plus, it would also help to open other doors for her, particularly her eventual role on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. That role gained her a lot of love among viewers, and she was a key part of the show for two seasons. Her popularity nearly landed a spinoff of her own, but the show never came to fruition.

Some superhero fans may wonder what an Adrianne Palicki-led Wonder Woman show would have been like, and maybe we’ll actually get to see that pilot someday. But until that day comes, most are probably just fine with knowing her as Mockingbird.

Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. may be over, but the show’s legacy still lives on through the fans who fell in love with Phil Coulson’s eclectic team of operatives. After seven seasons, viewers became quite fond of characters like Daisy “Quake Johnson” and resident genius couple Leo Fitz and Jemma Simmons (FItzSimmons). Amid all of the faces that have passed through the show, there was one character who managed to really capture fans’ attention during the early years of the series – Bobbi Morse (a.k.a. Mockingbird).

Years after her departure from the show, many still want to see Adrianne Palicki’s heroine get her own vehicle. However, it actually came very close to becoming a reality years ago; those involved don't want us to forget it either.

Geoff Thorne, who currently serves as a writer on Power Book II: Ghost, recently took to Twitter to talk about that time he actually wrote a pilot for a Mockingbird TV show that was to star Adrianne Palicki in the titular role. Check out his post below.

This news may come as a major surprise to some, though Mockingbird was actually supposed to hit the small screen before Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. ever aired its first episode. Back in 2011, a project was in the works at ABC family that allegedly would have seen a college-aged Bobbi Morse on adventures.

The Mockingbird series wasn’t the only attempt at giving Bobbi Morse her own vehicle, either. After Palicki and S.H.I.E.L.D. co-star Nick Blood (who played her ex, Lance Hunter) were written out in Season 3, a pilot was shot for a spinoff entitled Marvel’s Most Wanted. Unfortunately, ABC did not pick up the show to series.

Mockingbird was the closest thing Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. had to a starring superhero, until Daisy gained her powers and became Quake. Still, Bobbi definitely held things down, and Adrianne Palicki proved that she was more than perfect for the role. Her character had a lot of upside, and it would still be great to see her return in her own show. Plus, Palicki has expressed interest in playing the role again. And c'mon, tell me you're not a little interested in this script?

Given that Marvel TV has now been folded into Marvel Studios and most TV projects are now directly tied to the MCU, the chances of such a show happening are likely slim. Still, it never hurts to imagine what could have been.

The first six seasons of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. are currently streaming on Netflix, while Season 7 is available to stream on Hulu.

Fans of The Orville have been waiting a while to hear more news about Season 3, which will be the first batch of episodes released as Hulu exclusives, but the latest update tied to the show isn't so positive. It appears as if married couple and co-stars Adrianne Palicki and Scott Grimes are heading back towards an official split, with a new set of divorce papers being filed.

Adrianne Palicki, who plays The Orville's Commander Kelly Grayson, recently filed divorce paperwork for a second time in around a year, according to TMZ. At this time, it's not entirely clear what the specific reasons are behind the renewed decision to call it quits on her relationship with Scott Grimes, who plays ship helmsman Gordon Malloy on the space-faring dramedy.

As fans might remember, Adrianne Palicki and Scott Grimes were first primed for divorce proceedings back in July 2019 (similarly also right around the point when the Orville-friendly Comic-Con was happening). At that time, Palicki cited irreconcilable differences as her reason for filing. It was also revealed then that the couple had set up a prenuptial agreement, meaning their respective financial situations wouldn't become a major factor during the divorce.

However, that whole situation later got flipped back around when Adrianne Palicki officially requested for the court to dismiss her previously filed divorce petition. That was in November 2019, less than a month after they were surprisingly seen sitting together for a convention panel, with both prominently displaying their wedding rings again. It hadn't seemed like anything major happed to spark their reconciliation, just as nothing scandalous appeared to happen that influenced the renewed divorce decision.

Adrianne Palicki and Scott Grimes first met while filming The Orville back in 2017, and started a relationship in the next year. They announced their engagement in January 2019, and rather quickly followed up on that by getting married in May. Of course, it was was just two months later when Palicki's first divorce petition was filed.

The Orville was in the midst of filming for Season 3 when the lockdown hit, forcing the show to abandon production in the middle of an episode. (Seth MacFarlane has amusing thoughts on how that might look when filming begins anew.) Even though the characters of Kelly and Gordon aren't generally paired together for scenes very often, one can only hope that Adrianne Palicki and Scott Grimes are able to keep things amicable as co-stars.

At this point, Hulu has yet to announced a release date for The Orville Season 3, which presumably had a lot of post-production to tackle in recent months. No show can remain on television forever, and while it looked like Supernatural could've been the first, the ride is finally coming to an end. To commemorate that, we've compiled a list of actors and actresses who made this show great to update fans with some info on where they can watch them now that they're off The CW series.

Katie Cassidy - Ruby

Katie Cassidy stepped into Supernatural in Season 3 to play a demon that helped out Sam and Dean in hunting other demons. The brothers were initially wary of her intentions but slowly began to trust her more and more as the season progressed. Ruby would eventually prove untrustworthy; by then Cassidy had left the series and been replaced by Genevieve Cortese.

Though Katie Cassidy would exit the series and leave The CW temporarily, audiences know she's appeared in prominent roles on a fair few of the network's hits over the years. She's been Ella on Melrose Place, Juliet on Gossip Girl, and Laurel Lance and Black Siren in Arrow and the other Arrow-verse shows. Given her relationship with The CW, it's a wonder the show hasn't found a way to bring her back for just one episode.

Lauren Cohan - Bela Talbot

Bela Talbot was a character that came into Supernatural in Season 3 in order to be a real pain in the ass to the Winchester brothers. Lauren Cohan's character knew of the supernatural world, and often stole mystical objects and flipped them for a massive profit. Talbot had a solid run, although ultimately lost her life and soul after her deal with a Crossroads Demon expired.

Lauren Cohan drifted around Hollywood for a bit but things really picked up for her in 2011. In addition to roles on Chuck and The Vampire Diaries, Cohan joined a little AMC series by the name of The Walking Dead and her career has been on fire ever since. Anyone who says otherwise need only reference her growing film resume, or her much-buzzed ABC series Whiskey Cavalier.

Mark Sheppard - Crowley

Supernatural fans likely remember Crowley well, as the "King of Hell" made frequent appearances beginning in Season 5. Whether willing or unwilling, Crowley often coordinated with the Winchester brothers in affairs that helped them defeat Lucifer. After years on the show, Crowley's ride came to an end when he sacrificed his life with an Angel's Blade in order to seal Lucifer in an alternate world. The plan failed, but Crowley's death stuck.

Since his exit in 2017, Mark Sheppard hasn't take a ton of roles, but he recently resurfaced in DC Universe's Doom Patrol. Sheppard managed to appear in quite a few shows during his stint on Supernatural, and was a solid guest star on several high profile shows prior. Bottom line, it won't be surprising to see him pop up in a few more projects in 2019 and beyond, so audiences should keep an eye out.

Jeffrey Dean Morgan - John Winchester

Jeffrey Dean Morgan played the Winchester brothers' father, who is a complicated man to say the least. John wasn't the best or most open parent to his sons for most of their lives, which didn't sit well with fans. He did ultimately show up for them in the end, trading his life for Dean's back in Season 2. Luckily, the boys and fans alike got some closure when he was temporarily brought back for the 300th episode.

Jeffrey Dean Morgan hasn't had as many episodes on Supernatural as some would've liked, which was largely due to his role on Grey's Anatomy and Weeds. Things haven't slowed for him since, as his work as Negan on The Walking Dead and continued film career may keep him out of any large role in the final season. He is open to making it happen, though!

Adrianne Palicki - Jessica Moore

Jessica Moore was Sam's girlfriend at the start of Supernatural, although their love was ultimately never meant to be. Jess was killed under Azazel's orders, and to drive the dagger deeper the murderer ended up being a demon that was also the "friend" that introduced the two. This ultimately drove Sam to join Dean in his quest to find John, and while Jess never resurrected like other Supernatural characters, Sam did get vengeance on the demon that killed her.

Adrianne Palicki has done a slew of television since Supernatural, but her home right now is on Seth McFarlane's The Orville as Kelly Grayson. Those who haven't seen her before that may want to check back on past episodes of Marvel's Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. or one of the many other shows she's been involved in as of late.

Sterling K. Brown - Gordon Walker

Who doesn't remember Gordon Walker? Gordon was the vampire hunter who liked his job a little too much. While this wouldn't have been a problem with folks like Van Helsing, Sam and Dean took exception to Gordon's blatant killing if a being was supernatural and not so much as to whether or not they were doing harm. Gordon eventually met his end via Sam, who decapitated him with a makeshift garotte.

Sterling K. Brown left Supernatural due to a contractual obligation to Army Wives, and has found numerous roles in film and television since. Many will recognize him as the increasingly unlikable Randall Pearson on NBC's This Is Us, and can catch him on there for the time being. Brown is also doing a bit of voice work and will be heard in the sequel to Angry Birds and Frozen later this year.

Alona Tal - Jo Harvelle

Jo Harvelle wanted to follow in her hunter mother's footsteps, but it takes more than that in Supernatural. Although Jo tried her best when she first appeared in Season 2, she ended up causing more problems rather than solving any. She did eventually figure things out and became a competent hunter when she reconnected with the brothers in Season 5, then tragically died. She next appeared as a ghost in Season 7, and hasn't been seen since.

These days Alona Tal can be found on CBS' SEAL Team where she plays Stella. Tal is said to be a part of the NYPD Blue reboot, and should be along for the ride if the project gets a series order. She'll also be seen in The Red Sea Diving Resort alongside actor Chris Evans, Haley Bennett and others which is set to release sometime in 2019.

Mitch Pileggi - Samuel Campbell

Samuel Campbell was Sam and Dean's maternal grandfather, and also a hunter. He's been possessed, killed, brought down from heaven, had a soulless period where he did some bad stuff and then regained his soul with no memory of that time. Still, what a character arc this guy has had!

Since exiting Supernatural, Mitch Pileggi has been in a whole mess of stuff, and even reprised his role as Skinner for the The X-Files revival. Pileggi recently had a guest spot on NCIS and is also a part of the supernatural film Polaroid. He's taking part in the upcoming film Axis Sally, which features folks like Al Pacino, Meadow Williams, and Lala Kent.

Rob Benedict - Chuck Shurley

When it comes to interesting Supernatural characters, Chuck Shurley tops the list. He's the writer of the in-series novels Supernatural, and documents the adventures of the Winchester brothers as the "new Gospels." Chuck fades away for a time, but then comes back as God in Chuck's form. This raises the question of if Chuck was always God, or if the actual Chuck died and then God later took Chuck's form. Unfortunately, those in charge will probably never tell.

Rob Benedict's last appearance on Supernatural was 2016, and he's been out and around Hollywood since then. He was recently in two episodes in NCIS: New Orleans, and will appear in two episodes of Season 5 of Amazon Prime Video's Bosch. While we don't know for sure, one would hope Benedict will make another appearance in Supernatural's final season.

Richard Speight Jr. - Gabriel

The youngest of the archangels, Gabriel spent a majority of his life trying to avoid the drama of heaven and hell and instead opted to escape to Earth. The plan didn't work out to well, as Gabriel frequently surfaced throughout Supernatural and eventually found himself unable to run any longer from his problems. Gabriel confronted his brother Michael, in a great victory over his cowardice but an overall defeat that cost him his life.

Since his last appearance on Supernatural, Richard Speight Jr. has taken to the independent film scene. Driven, No Place Like Home, and Mama Bear are on the docket for 2019. Dawn of 5 Evils is another project he has in production, although no release date has been announced.

Felicia Day - Charlie Bradbury

Charlie was yet another of Sam and Dean's frequent collaborators, sometimes unintentionally. Despite her attempts to avoid them, Charlie always came around and was actually a big help on a handful of adventures. Charlie did die, but she's got an Apocalypse World counterpart running around that is pretty bad ass.

Felicia Day has been as busy as she was prior to Supernatural, and is keeping it geeky with roles within the genre. This includes her role as Kinga Forrester in Mystery Science Theater 3000: The Return, and run as Poppy on The Magicians. Fans can also hear her voice on several different animated projects that are on streaming such as Adventure Time, or Skylanders Academy.

Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. lost one of its most badass characters back in Season 3 when Mockingbird, a.k.a. Bobbi Morse, was forced to leave S.H.I.E.L.D. after she and Hunter were caught somewhere they weren't supposed to be. At the time, fans had reason to believe that Adrianne Palicki would soon be back on the airwaves as Bobbi, but that never happened. Now, Palicki has weighed in on whether she would be game to play Mockingbird again, saying this:

Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. fans, rejoice! Even though this is hardly confirmation that Mockingbird will ever be back on S.H.I.E.L.D. in the flesh, at least we can say that Adrianne Palicki would be game to return. Palicki has been busy for the last couple of years as the female lead on Fox's The Orville, but her comments to TVLine indicate that she'd be more than willing to make time in her schedule to return to the MCU and Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

The timing for a Bobbi return seemed perfect in Season 5 when -- as Adrianne Palicki noted -- Nick Blood returned to S.H.I.E.L.D. to play Lance Hunter once more. He was back in the action to rescue Fitz from being detained, and he was essential to Fitz figuring out how travel to the future to help Simmons and Co. Hunter's presence even allowed for a cute Star Wars joke as Fitz was frozen a la Han Solo.

Nick Blood revealed that Hunter was going to be flying solo in his one-off Season 5 episode because Hunter and Bobbi had "a tiff" and they were cooling off separately, which sounded about par for the course for Hunter and Bobbi. While the explanation for Bobbi's absence was logical enough, many were undoubtedly disappointed to see only one half of the dysfunctional/dynamic duo back on screen.

After Adrianne Palicki and Nick Blood left S.H.I.E.L.D. back in Season 3, fans had every reason to expect them back in primetime in the not-too-distant future. They were slated to star in a S.H.I.E.L.D. spinoff series called Marvel's Most Wanted, and all signs seemed to point toward the show getting a series order... at first. The spinoff was ultimately axed before even the pilot could air, and Bobbi and Hunter couldn't really just return to S.H.I.E.L.D. after how they'd left.

The good news is that Adrianne Palicki wasn't off the air for too long, as she landed her role on The Orville. Still, my fingers are crossed that S.H.I.E.L.D. finds a reason to bring her back into the action. The show scored a surprise renewal for Season 6 and then Season 7 before Season 6 even premiered, so perhaps the writers will have the time they need to figure out the perfect way to reincorporate Bobbi, even if only for a single episode.

The Orville is about to return for its second season, and one of its stars is teasing a significant development. The show will be enhancing things in Season 2, according to Adrianne Palicki, with new adventures out scaling the first, and the drama getting all the more dramatic. Promoting the sci-fi series' second installment, Palicki said:

Mini-movies? Fans will undoubtedly be delighted to hear what Adrianne Palicki told TV Guide. She makes an excellent point about shows finding their rhythm in Season 1. By the time, Season 2 rolls around, shows like The Orville have a much better sense of what works and what does not, and can emphasize the elements of the former category in the writing.

The idea of mini-movies sounds like a pretty epic development for the Fox series, which has impressed fans with its unique tone. Rather than being a straight goofy comedy, it actually does handle drama well along with some interesting sci-fi concepts. In a positive sign, the potential for a third season is also in the air.

Adrianne Palicki is not the only who has referred to The Orville's second season putting off movie vibes either. The series' creator, Seth MacFarlane, also hinted at a similar development at this year's San-Diego Comic-Con. Like Palicki, MacFarlane also affirmed that the series will have found its footing in Season 2. He also seemed hopeful that fans would receive the sci-fi series' second installment favorably.

The Orville is closer than ever to its return. Based on what is already known about Season 2, there is a lot of reason to be excited about what's about to abound. Earlier this year, fans learned that The Orville would play host to a pretty awesome reunion: Gossip Girl co-stars Leighton Meester and Jessica Szohr. The actresses starred opposite each other on the teen soap, and their characters often clashed on that show. Their dynamic in Season 2 of The Orville is unknown, however. Szohr is a series regular in The Orville's second season, while Meester will be stopping by as a guest star.

A lot of details about the episode have not been shared at this time. Fans are close to finding out everything. Suffice it to say; it can only be a fun thing for fans of both The Orville and The CW drama. There is another reunion that would be cool for The Orville to take on in the future. Adrianne Palicki and Jesse Plemons!

The two played lovestruck teens Tyra and Landry on the cult favorite Friday Night Lights. In another neat twist, Jesse Plemons starred in Black Mirror's much-buzzed-about episode "USS Callister." Perhaps, Plemons would be interested in delving back into sci-fi with The Orville? He certainly has the experience, and maybe there could even be some kind of multiverse crossover. Most important, though, would be reteaming with Adrianne Palicki, as the two of them were always great together on the NBC drama. It is something to keep in mind as The Orville continues its run.

Second seasons tend to be do-or-die moments for series. With Adrianne Palicki so confident about Season 2's quality, it sounds as though it will be a "do" moment for The Orville.

The Orville's second season premieres December 30th following a game of NFL football. From there, the series can be seen in the new year starting Thursday, January 3 at 9 p.m. ET on Fox.

As far as television crossovers and the MCU are concerned, ABC's Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. is about as close any series has ever gotten to appearing in the Marvel films. The series features Phil Coulson, who has been present in both the films and series, and the show was directly affected by the events of films like Captain America: The Winter Soldier. While that's all well and good, it's not enough for Bobbi Morse actress Adrianne Palicki, who said in a recent interview she would love to fight alongside Marvel's biggest heroes on film:

Adrianne Palicki indicates during her AMA she still has that itch to appear in a hero feature, even though her chances of being Wonder Woman are long gone. The appearance would be problematic for Palicki, considering she's no longer on Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. and currently on Fox's recently renewed The Orville. But one would think if the call came, Seth MacFarlane would let her hop off the set temporarily to make this dream come true. The real question is would Marvel, as Bobbi Morse's arrival over other Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D characters wouldn't make a ton of sense.

For those that haven't been keeping tabs on Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D., Bobbi Morse and Lance Hunter were disavowed from S.H.I.E.L.D. in Season 3. Their departure was originally supposed to result in a spin-off series titled Marvel's Most Wanted, but that never happened. Now, a year later, it seems unlikely that Marvel would pick up the phone and call up Adrianne Palicki given how long her character has been gone from the series, but anything is possible. With Disney looking into developing a Marvel series on their streaming service, perhaps one of the new Avengers films could serve as a back door pilot for Marvel's Most Wanted?

Crazier things have happened, and it's not as though Marvel hasn't done something like that before. Then again, Agent Carter wasn't exactly a runaway success for either brand, so there's a risk in doing something like this and repeating the same mistakes all over again. Can Adrianne Palicki sway executives into thinking otherwise with her interest in being in a Marvel movie?

We can only wait and see as Avengers: Infinity War appears to be the big hope for fans to see their favorite Marvel TV heroes on the big screen. While Adrianne Palicki may be best known nowadays for her role as Bobbi Morse on Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., she very nearly became the star of a DC Comics TV series. Palicki was cast as Wonder Woman in the 2011 prospective series on NBC, but the show got the axe after only the pilot was filmed, and the pilot itself was not aired. Now, Palicki has spoken out about the failed Wonder Woman pilot, saying this:

Not too many people were surprised that Wonder Woman never made it to series, as there was quite a lot of negative buzz, but Adrianne Palicki was clearly upset by the project getting cancelled before it got the chance to get off the ground. Judging by her comments to THR, she is grateful that she had the chance to play Wonder Woman, even if only for a little bit, and her career obviously turned out just fine without Wonder Woman. She became a popular part of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and was slated to star in the spinoff, although that never materialized. She currently stars with Seth MacFarlane in Fox's The Orville, which got off to a strong start in the ratings.

All things considered, a hit Wonder Woman series would probably have been difficult back in 2011, no matter how the pilot was handled. The original Wonder Woman series was beloved, and the new era of small screen superheroes that really kicked off with Arrow in 2012 hadn't yet started. Audiences may just not have been ready for a project about Wonder Woman.

That's obviously no longer the case, given how well Wonder Woman performed in the box office over the summer. The movie starring Gal Gadot was setting and breaking records, and critics responded well to it, especially after Batman v Superman and Suicide Squad weren't quite the critical hits that DC was undoubtedly hoping for. Wonder Woman got her introduction in Batman v Superman, so fans already knew what they were getting with Gal Gadot in the role. There was a recipe for success that led to a hit movie, and it was a recipe that was absent for the pilot back in 2011.

You can catch Adrianne Palicki in new episodes of The Orville, which air on Thursdays at 9 p.m. ET on Fox. There has been no news if she could reprise her role as Bobbi on the new season of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., but our fingers are crossed. Adrianne Palicki has built herself a solid acting career over for many years, from starring in the Friday Night Lights TV series to battling Keanu Reeves in John Wick. More recently, though, she's gained popularity for playing Bobbi Morse, a.k.a. Mockingbird, on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Seasons 2 and 3. While no longer a main cast member, it was believed she could conceivably return to the Marvel spy series at some point, but that could change now that she's been cast in Seth MacFarlane's newest TV show.

Palicki has been cast as the female lead in Seth MacFarlane's still-untitled, hour-long space comedic drama on Fox. According to Deadline, the actress will play Kelly Grayson, First Officer aboard the space ship Orville and ex-wife of the ship's captain Ed, played by MacFarlane. Voice actor Scott Grimes was also added as Gordon, the Orville's pilot and Ed's best friend. The 13-episodes series, which follows a group of interstellar explorers 300 years in the future, isn't airing until the 2017-2018 TV season. Still, this begs the question of whether the new show will affect Palicki being able to appear on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

Frankly, right now we don't know what Adrianne Palicki's situation is with Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. in the upcoming TV season. Last week at San Diego Comic-Con, Marvel Studios TV head Jeph Loeb didn't say anything about whether viewers would see Bobbi or her ex-husband Lance Hunter, played by Nick Blood, appear in Season 4. Both characters were key members of Phil Coulson's elite team during the past two seasons, but they departed last season in "Parting Shot." The in-universe explanation for this was because they had been compromised on a mission, and in order to stay alive, they chose not to work for S.H.I.E.L.D. anymore. The real life reason for the actors exiting was so they could star in their own spinoff series, Marvel's Most Wanted, but after filming the pilot, ABC decided to pass on that project. It seems likelier than not that the S.H.I.E.L.D. will reunite with Bobbi and Hunter at some point, but it remains to be seen when that will happen.

Assuming that Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. will still be on during the 2017-2018 TV season, I could see Fox working out a deal with ABC for Adrianne Palicki to appear every now and then. Obviously the MacFarlane show is the priority, but actors have made arrangements in the past to guest star on shows they were previously involved in. Plus, unless Fox extends the episode order, this space series is only 13 episodes, so depending on which half of the season it airs in, Palicki could conceivably pop in for an episode of two of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. during the other half.

We'll keep you updated on what's happening with Seth McFarlane's show as more information comes in, but Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Season 4, with or without any Palicki appearances, will premiere on September 20 at 10 p.m. EST on ABC.

As if the lines between DC and Marvel weren't blurred enough every time an actor jumps from one side of the fence to the other, new ammunition has been presented in the battle of the comic titans. But now with the revelation that Adrianne Palicki, better known as Bobbi Morse / Mockingbird on Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D., has a secret Supergirl tattoo, those lines are about to get a little harder to see.

During Palicki's recent appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live, she mentioned that she had a tattoo referencing the DC Comics for about a decade – all to prove that she is a real comic fan. We can't say where the tattoo is, as it's much more fun to watch the bashful revelation in the video below.

It's funny that Jimmy Kimmel would ask Palicki if she's a real comic fan, because while most actors can simply lie about being fans of the world of magic and superheroes, you'd think that someone who's played multiple roles in the comic realm would at least have a passing interest. Let's not forget that before she landed as Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D.'s Mockingbird, she was once set to play the lead role in David E. Kelley's proposed Wonder Woman series for NBC. Her further comic book credentials include an un-aired pilot for an Aquaman series, as well as the role of Lindsay / Kara on the WB's long running hit Smallville.

What's interesting is that, much like a true fan of the comic genre, Adrianne Palicki realizes that neither faction of the comic wars matters – what matters is the material. Though, to be fair, Marvel does seem to be treating her much better that her history with DC ever did. With two failed pilots underneath the banner that built Batman and Superman, Palicki's current total of 40 episodes with Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. is a far cry from her previous efforts to be involved with a steady comic project. Not to mention, her upcoming spinoff - Marvel's Most Wanted - will see her take center stage of a series on her own.

Still, it would be pretty awesome if, through some sort of magic or contractual loophole, Palicki could nab a guest starring role / walk-on part in CBS' Supergirl show – seeing as she's such a fan. But even we know that while that idea sounds awesome, it's never going to happen. Marvel and DC are such polarized entities that they wouldn't even dare think of sharing talent. It's a nice dream, but that's more than likely where it's going to stay. Much like the location of the tattoo that started this whole conversation, Adrianne Palicki taking part in a DC project is in the ether of human consciousness.

Superhero series, much like the comic books they’re based on, are pretty reliable for bringing popular characters back for more. In addition to all of the new characters announced to appear in the series’ future, we can all expect more Bobbi “Mockingbird” Morse in our lives, as actress Adrianne Palicki has been promoted to series regular on ABC’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.. Every show could use some more Mockingbird.

Though her entrance into the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. universe was only supposed to kickoff a six-episode stint, the character was enough of a fan favorite for the show’s execs to officially bring her back to expand upon Morse’s storyline within this universe. According to Deadline, Palicki will return for the midseason premiere titled "Aftershock." Now, the question is whether or not she’ll stick around with the good guys or if there will be a double blind twist and she’ll be revealed to be a member of some super-duper secret villainous squad.

Morse was introduced in the Season 2 episode “A Hen in the Wolf House” as a head of security for Hydra. But luckily for the country, and bad for the bad guys, she was really just a double agent, infiltrating the evil organization for Agent Coulson. She ended up having to blow her own cover in order to extract fellow undercover S.H.I.E.L.D. agent Jemma Simmons.

It turns out Morse used to be married to S.H.I.E.L.D. mercenary Lance Hunter, and their relationship is one that is complicated, to say the least. (Isn’t everything complicated on this show?) You can bet the rest of Season 2 will delve into their back-and-forth love/hate existence in each other’s lives.

Palicki is assumedly excited about coming back to the world of superheroes (even if there aren’t very many actual superheroes on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D..) She tried breaking into the world of DC Comics series a couple of times, although no one wanted to bite. She starred as Nadia in the pilot for Aquaman on what was then The WB in 2006, and was also cast for the title role of David E. Kelley’s Wonder Woman pilot. Unfortunately, neither of those pilots was developed into a full series, and then Marvel started taking over.

Last night, Adrienne Palicki debuted as Bobbi Morse on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and make quite a first impression (more on that later). As comic book fans know, Morse’s codename is Mockingbird, and now we have our first look at Morse’s Mockingbird look for future episodes of the series, along with her hair being its trademark blonde. Suffice it to say, Palicki looks amazing in the costume. Check it out!

See? She's obviously rocking it! Described as a “tactical outfit,” Morse will don her new duds in next week’s episode, which will also feature the premiere of the first Avengers: Age of Ultron trailer. Costume designer Ann Foley said that she made sure to keep elements of Mockingbird’s comic book costume when combining it with the “practicality” of the a real world tactical suit. Marvel also posted concept art of the Mockingbird outfit, and although the costume isn’t the navy blue and white look that Morse wears in the comics, Foley explained why she went in a different direction for TV.

Until yesterday’s episode, Marvel and ABC were keeping Bobbi Morse’s true allegiances ambiguous. Making her the head of Hydra security was an unusual turn of events, and it didn’t help that her brown hair and red coat separated her visually from her comic book counterpart. Fortunately, she was soon outed as one of the good guys when she helped Agent Jemma Simmons escape the Hydra facility where they were both undercover. However, the real shocker came when she reunited with her S.H.I.E.L.D. colleagues, and viewers discovered that she is the ex-wife of agent Lance Hunter. Yes, the “she-devil” woman he’s been bad-mouthing these past episodes will be working with him on covert missions. Talk about awkward.

As stated earlier, Palicki looks awesome in the suit, but while appearance is important, we’ll have to wait and see if Morse will still be able to kick bad guy ass while wearing it on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.. It doesn’t look quite as tight as the outfit Scarlet Johansson wears as Black Widow, but it wouldn’t be good if it was too constricting. At least she’ll still be wielding her trademark batons, which she used last night to take out a few Hydra agents. Like Black Widow with her stinger gauntlets, Mockingbird is extremely effective with those blunt weapons.

Now that Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.'s second season is off and running, we are now back to having weekly looks and updates from the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The coming weeks should be filled with all kinds of sneak peeks at Marvel Comics characters that will be coming to the show, and that's exactly what's being delivered today. Ladies and gentlemen, here is your first look at Adrianne Palacki in-character as Bobbi Morse - perhaps best known to comic book fans as Mockingbird.

This image was first posted by Entertainment Weekly, which also provides a brief run down on how Mockingbird will be portrayed in the show. Comparing her to Jeremy Renner's version of Hawkeye from The Avengers, the character is described as not being super-powered, but instead simply being an extremely highly-skilled S.H.I.E.L.D. operative. Here she is actually pictured as "the head of Hydra Security," and while the character has classically been a force for good, the write-up suggests that audiences may not know immediately which team she is really playing for.

We first learned that Mockingbird would be featured in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Season 2 at San Diego Comic-Con this past summer, but it was only late last month that the G.I. Joe: Retaliation actress was cast in the role. Palicki has some comic book experience under her belt already, but she would probably prefer that fans not pay attention to it. She was previously cast as the new television version of Wonder Woman back in 2011 when someone thought it was a good idea to hire David E. Kelley to make a show about the DC Comics Amazonian. Though a pilot was produced and made, it was never picked up and never aired due to it being absolutely terrible (I can say that having seen it), and now it merely exists as a mysterious and awful piece of comic book history.

In EW's story, there is a suggestion that when she is introduced this character is simply Bobbi Morse and not Mockingbird just yet, which makes me wonder how Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. will be approaching the "superhero costume." Could we possibly eventually see Adrianne Palacki wearing something like this on the show?

Adrianne Palicki's Bobbi Morse will be making her television debut on October 21st, the fifth episode of the season, in an episode titled "A Hen in the Wolf House." Meanwhile, the second episode of Season 2, "Heavy Is The Head," is set to air next Tuesday, September 30th, at 9:00pm on ABC.

Three years ago, it looked like we were going to finally see Wonder Woman come out of television retirement and save the day in David E. Kelley's NBC reboot of the DC franchise. With those hopes came a new pilot and a new actress in the role, the latter of which was being filled by Friday Night Lights veteran Adrianne Palicki. But as quickly as those hopes came, they were dashed as the show was never picked up for production, nor was it even burned off as a TV movie, as per tradition for a pilot of such stature. It looks like Marvel saw something that NBC didn't, as they've recently cast Palicki in their TV flagship, Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D, as Barbara “Mockingbird” Morse.

TVLine scooped the story, which answers a recent question we had about Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D's list of Marvel characters being added to the show's roster. Barbara Morse, aka “Mockingbird,” has existed in Marvel's comic canon since 1971, but she didn't go by the call sign Mockingbird until her 1980's run. That might not sound important now, but if Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D is meant to feed into/overlap with the Marvel Cinematic Universe, then this could cause complications with the Black Widow/Hawkeye romance, seeing as the two avian themed agents supposedly fall in love and get married in that same 1980 run.

Besides her romantic entanglements, Dr. Barbara Morse has a phD in Biology, as well as the same sort of physical prowess as Natasha Romanoff. Though, to be fair, Dr. Morse prefers batons or a bo-staff instead of shock bracelets. Speaking of mysteries and complications, we've also found out who's going to be playing Skye's father this season; and you're going to want to grab a cup of some damned fine coffee before you read any further. Kyle Maclachlan, Agent Dale Cooper himself, is jumping on board to help figure out just why she's so special to S.H.I.E.L.D. Either that, or he'll start speaking in cryptic riddles of varying audio speeds, and ultimately turn out to be a baddie all the long. It's Marvel, it could go either way folks.

I have to say, this is definitely the sort of casting I expect (and love) to see coming out of the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D camp. Kyle Maclachlan has high class extraterrestrial (Asgardian?) written all over him, and Adrianne Palicki has finally been given a chance to play in the superhero sandbox everyone's talking about. Funny thing is, Joss Whedon was rejected from the same sandbox she tried to get into, as his Wonder Woman film was torpedoed a couple of years before her series also fell under the waves.

Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D return for duty on September 23rd.

Mainstream audiences might have noticed a lack of Keanu Reeves at theaters following the disappointing sci-fi blockbuster The Day The Earth Stood Still. But after taking some time to focus on smaller features like Malcolm Venville’s dramedy Henry’s Crime, the filmmaking documentary Side by Side and the New York-set indie Generation Um…, Reeves is returning to the kind of action-packed thrillers that made him a 1990s megastar. The latest of these is John Wick, a revenge thriller that will mark the directing debut of David Leitch and Chad Stahelski, professional stunt men who both worked with Reeves in the Matrix trilogy.

Deadline reports The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo’s Michael Nyqvist, Game of Thrones’ Alfie Allen, Friday Night Lights’s Adrianne Palicki and Dean Winters, best-known by 30 Rock fans as Dennis Duffy, have signed on to join the cast that also includes Willem Dafoe. In the original feature scripted by Derek Kolstad, Reeves and Dafoe play hitmen and long-time friends who find themselves in a kill or be killed confrontation when one is hired to murder the other. Reeves plays Wick, who left behind his career as a professional killer in part because of advice Dafoe’s character Marcus once gave him. But Wick finds himself in Marcus’s crosshairs after hunting down the car thief who killed his beloved dog that was a gift from his late wife. Turns out this sloppy carjacker is the son of a merciless NY crime boss, who in turn hires Marcus. No mention is made of what roles Nyqvist, Allen, Palicki, and Winters might play. However, based on Allen’s work on Game of Thrones as the alternately vicious and whimpering Theon Greyjoy, my bet would be he’s lined up for the role of the car thief/son of a gangster. This could leave the NY gangster role for Winters.

John Wick is currently in production in New York City, and it’s expected to hit theaters in 2014. In the meantime, Reeves’s fans will have two more action-packed adventures to look forward to. First up is 47 Ronin. Directed by Carl Rinsch, this long-awaited samurai tale follows a band of warriors of 18th-century Japan who seek to avenge the death of their master by defeating the shogun who killed him. The film co-stars Pacific Rim’s Rinko Kikuchi and The Wolverine’s Hiroyuki Sanada, and will open on Christmas day 2013.

Next up will be Man of Tai Chi. This martial arts drama not only stars Reeves, but also marks his directorial debut. Set in the modern day, the film follows a young fighter who takes his stellar Tai Chi skills into the dangerous but highly lucrative world of underground fight clubs. But this warrior struggles to maintain his moral integrity as he makes the fights get tougher and the prizes get bigger. Last spring, Radius-TWC picked up the North American distribution rights for Man of Tai Chi, but a US release date has not yet been announced.

Despite lasting on television for five seasons, Friday Night Lights is a show fans can't get enough of. It's understandable of course. The story of Coach Taylor and his family—both bonded by biology and football—proved gripping and dynamic week after week whether or not you had any interest in the sport. (Cough cough.) The idea of a movie spin-off of the TV show that was a spin-off of a movie that was based on a non-fiction book began bouncing around just months after the series' finale aired back in 2011.

Since then little headway has been made. But with the rebirth of Veronica Mars thanks to a wildly successful Kickstarter campaign, it seems Friday Night Lights has found a new path to the end zone of movie production. Speaking with Screen Rant about her latest project, G.I. Joe: Retaliation, FNL's Adrianne Palicki, who memorably played Tyra on the series, revealed:

I have to admit, I share Palicki's conflicted feelings. Friday Night Lights was one of the rare series that felt like it earned its ending. And while I'd be interested to see what the Taylor clan is up to now, I also take comfort that they've ridden off into a future where presumably there's not enough drama to pack a new movie.

Of course, crucial to getting a Friday Night Lights movie based on the show back on track would be securing Coach Taylor's return. But last time the Kyle Chandler was asked about this possibility, he seemed less than enthusiastic, saying, "It was a great show. I really enjoy it. I still like watching the show again. Because it was so creative - the process. But they ended it at just the right time and exactly the right way, as well."

Toy Fair is really primarily an industry event for toymakers, for everyone from giants like Mattel to independent companies to show off their wares, trade tips and collaborate on what's next. But when you're a behemoth like Hasbro representing the official toys for a lot of big upcoming movies, you can add a little bit of Hollywood glitz to the proceedings. At the official Hasbro show room last Monday, the movers and shakers behind G.I. Joe: Retaliation paid a visit, to check out their action figures, meet the people manufacturing their toys, and impress a few members of the press with just how excited they are about their movie.

You may have already seen my video interviews with director Jon M. Chu and producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura, in which they emphasized the ways in which Retaliation is essentially a reboot from the first film, and how they're making the film both more realistic and also a lot of fun. Now check out the interviews with the film's stars, all of them newcomers to the franchise. D.J. Cotrona and Adrianne Palicki were holding their action figures when they stopped by to chat, and we went over the experience of jumping into a giant film like this, why D.J. was a little disappointed by the first film as a fan, and the playful vibe on the set. And then it came time to talk to The Rock, and ask him the obvious question on everyone's mind: Why is he quoting Jay-Z in the Super Bowl trailer?

From the looks of this set video posted by Entertainment Tonight, there's pretty much nothing happening on the New Orleans set of G.I. Joe 2: Retaliation. Sure, the Rock is out there in fatigues and appears to be dodging fake bullets in one scene, but this two-minute video seems to stretch on forever as The Rock, Adrianne Palicki and D.J. Cotrona look bored and share platitudes about how great it is working together. It doesn't help that they appear to literally be under a bridge-- not exactly the kind of high-tech glamour you would associate with G.I. Joe. Check out the video over there to see what I mean.

I guess it's always nice to see The Rock and his jovial self, even if the amount of times he said the phrase "BAMF" kind of robbed it of all meaning. But this set video makes G.I. Joe 2: Retaliation look like exactly the boring, unnecessary sequel that we're hoping it's not. With unconventional director Jon M. Chu (of the Bieber documentary Never Say Never) behind it and the likes of Bruce Willis, Walton Goggins and RZA joining the cast, they seem to at least be putting the effort in to not make this a tossed-off sequel. So why such a tossed-off set report? As with all things, it's easiest just to blame Entertainment Tonight.

G.I. Joe 2: Retaliation comes to theaters next summer on June 29. Hopefully we'll get a few more interesting looks at what's happening on the set and in the movie between now and then.

If you were at all interested in the now-cancelled Wonder Woman series, you can at least take a better look at what you would have been getting. Three clips have leaked online, and one of them is reasonably substantial.

The lengthy four-minute clip shows two separate action sequences, a chase scene, and a fight scene. It does include one brief look into the Wonder Woman character, and a rather well-chosen one at that in my opinion. Shortly after apprehending the target of the chase scene, the cops arrive and Wonder Woman is obviously not pleased about giving the man to the cops, saying that he will just "lawyer up." It's pretty normal to have friction between an action hero and the cops, but this is a bit more unique as they clearly don't treat her as an outlaw. Not to mention, lack of faith in the criminal justice system is an especially hot topic these days.

The action scenes are pretty over-the-top but not any more so than you're probably already used to for a comic-book hero. The other two clips are more candid and emotional in nature, and give a closer look at the Wonder Woman character. One features Wonder Woman in a women's business suit, walking out on what appears to be some sort of marketing team, upset with their portrayal of her. In the other short clip she is visiting what seems to be a friend in the hospital, but this bit is painfully out of context for the most part.

The show being cancelled doesn't come as a huge surprise. Live-action takes on classic comic-book heroes seem to be far more easily ported to the big screen. A Wonder Woman film is in development but isn't slated to appear for at least a few years. In any case I think the film route is probably the best one, particularly in financial terms. Networks are looking for shows that have potential not only to draw viewers, but to bring them back for future seasons -- something I think would have been very difficult for the Wonder Woman team to manage, regardless of how well they put together the first season or two.

Update: Looks like the clips have been pulled down. It was fun while it lasted!

Over the last few weeks, there has been a steady stream of Wonder Woman content, even though (or perhaps because) the series did not get picked up by NBC. First, we got to see the "booty-shorts" costume picture, which was then followed by another couple photos and even a fan review and comparison of the script and pilot.

Now there's a short teaser for the David E. Kelley show (and I mean SHORT), because there is still hope that another network (may I suggest The CW) might want to give it a shot. The series features (featured) Adrianne Palicki as Wonder Woman/Diana Prince, Elizabeth Hurley as the baddie, and Cary Elwes as the hapless CEO of Prince's Themyscira Industries.

The tease is literally six seconds long, featuring a brief glimpse of both a fiercely walking Wonder Woman and the potential logo for the series. It's not exactly the kind of thing that would inspire a network to send a dump-truck of cash to Kelley's door, but perhaps it can at least spark some more (and positive) buzz? We'll see. You can see Wonder Woman on...well, maybe some network around mid-season, depending on how these little promos work out for the Amazonian Princess.

She may be an Amazonian princess and an important member of the Justice League of America, but that doesn't mean she's super enough to make a fall TV schedule. Yes, as we are all aware by now, NBC has passed on the new network TV version of Wonder Woman from David E. "Ally McBeal" Kelley.

To quickly throw my two cents in, I was whole-heartedly against this idea right from the announcement that Diana Prince would be relegated to the small screen. I'm waiting for SOMEONE to finally pull off a female-led comic book film and not immediately assume that they need to try their hand at TV first. Especially with one of the few female superheroes big enough to possibly draw audiences to theaters (someone call Matthew Vaughn). My preferred lead: Rosario Dawson.

Enough of my wishful thinking, let's get to what we're really for: checking out the costume that will never see the glow of a TV screen. Thankfully, Twitter has come to the rescue. It was just last week that we got our first look at TV’s new Wonder Woman, and now she’s already been spotted in action, inexplicable shiny pants and all.

Adrianne Palicki is the new actress to squeeze into the Amazonian corset and she’s been snapped running and jumping her way through the streets of Hollywood fighting crime, by photogs plying their trade all over the internet. It looks like the costume has changed a little since that first photo last week. That pants are a little less shiny and more practical and now the boots are suddenly red instead of blue. It looks better.

Holy costume update, Batman! David E. Kelley’s Wonder Woman is set to take the feminine crime fighter in a holy new direction, and apparently, that starts with her wardrobe. Pictures just dropped of Adrianne Palicki decked out in the new ensemble, and something tells me more ardent fans are going to have something to say about it.

Entertainment Weekly has the exclusive photo, in which she’s wearing--get this--skintight pants. That’s right, full length pants, complete with a lasso on the belt and gold trimmings. I guess if you’re going to update the character into a rogue vigilante for the twenty-first century, might as well alter her appearance.

No word yet on what villain Elizabeth Hurley might resemble, but one would expect her getup might be a little less showy. I’ve embedded a small version of her outfit below. Go ahead and head over to EW to see the whole thing.

The David E. Kelley Wonder Woman series that seemed doomed as recently as January is moving along nicely, with Friday Night Lights veteran Adrianne Palicki set to star as Diana Prince and production still moving forward. Now they've added another improbably gorgeous woman to the cast, but this one's going to be a baddie. The news comes from the relatively unlikely source of Elizabeth Hurley's twitter account, where the English actress and model announced she's doing the Wonder Woman pilot for NBC, and will play "the evil villain."

As for which villain Hurley will be playing, you can kind of take your pick-- Wonder Woman's rogue's gallery includes far more females than most superheroes, which makes sense given the weird feeling of seeing a man try to beat up a woman. No matter who she winds up playing, though, I love that Hurley is on board. It's easier to imagine her having played Wonder Woman herself when she was younger, and now that she's a little older but still improbably beautiful, she'll make an excellent arch-rival to the heroine.

Well, that was fast. After just a few weeks of speculation about who might put on the iconic suit for David E. Kelley's Wonder Woman reimagining, Adrianne Palicki has been officially cast. While not exactly a household name, the actress recently raised some eyebrows after crushing on Lone Star, Fox's recently cancelled disaster. Seems like that epic failure may have been a pretty sweet blessing in disguise.

According to Deadline, Palicki was the first and only woman asked to audition. She must have performed quite well in the screen test as this was one of the more coveted open slots for young actresses. The new incarnation of Wonder Woman follows Diana Prince as she juggles her corporate executive job with whooping criminal ass on the streets of Los Angeles. Friday Night Lights executive producer Jeff Reiner will helm the pilot, and if all goes well, it'll air next fall on NBC.

Often times, pilots need a big name to fight their way through the crowded field of potential new shows, but with David E. Kelley and an established brand like Wonder Woman, this effort will surely be more about quality. People will tune in. The only question is whether they'll stay.
