The Marvel Cinematic Universe is known for constantly expanding, both in theaters and streaming with a Disney+ subscription. Arguably the most highly anticipated upcoming Marvel movie is The Russo Brothers' Avengers: Doomsday, which will be a giant crossover event. And one actor recently described how confusing it was on set, thanks to its scale and Marvel's tight security.

What we know about Avengers: Doomsday is limited, but fans have still been counting the days until its released. The Doomsday cast announcement confirmed entire teams of heroes will be included, such as some OG stars of the X-Men movies. That includes Alan Cumming, who spoke to Deadline about what it was like filming the blockbuster. He offered:

That really does sound like a confusing way to work. On top of the secrecy involving its script, Doomsday's schedule also attempted to guard the movie's secrets. And with so many actors's schedules being considered, smart money says there are films that were filmed without scene partners actually being in the same room.

Of course, there were times when the movie's large ensemble were united. Rebecca Romijn described a few days that had over 30 principal actors on set, and how "surreal" it was. Later in his same interview, Alan Cumming went on to speak more about his time filming, offering:

Despite the complications, it sounds like the Emmy-winning host of The Traitors still had fun filming his mysterious role in Avengers: Doomsday. Fans who spent years watching the Marvel movies in order are psyched to finally see the X-Men assembled in the shared universe, something that seemed impossible until Disney acquired 20th Century Fox back in 2019. It should be thrilling to see the team of mutant on the big screen, especially once they crossover with the Avengers, New Avengers, and Fantastic Four.

All will be revealed when Avengers: Doomsday hits theaters on December 19th as part of the 2026 movie release list. Hopefully we get a full trailer released sooner rather than later, particularly for those of us who didn't get to see the sneak peek at CinemaCon.

There are plenty of reasons why the X-Men movies of the 2000s remain beloved amongst superhero devotees, and something that audiences still talk about is the superb ensemble cast. Some fans may not be aware, though, that there was a bit of strife amid the making of the films, particularly with regard to the second installment. I’ve personally been aware of the drama that unfolded on set, but what I didn’t realize is that “trauma” played a role in at least some of the cast staying in touch over the years.

Someone who worked on the X2 set was Alan Cumming, who made his franchise debut as Kurt Wagner/Nightcrawler in Bryan Singer’s 2003 superhero sequel. Cumming’s performance has since been praised, and Singer’s movie received high praise and amassed some significant box office receipts. However, as Cumming alluded to via comments he shared with People, he and his co-stars remain linked by more than the success of that comic book flick:

Some have said that the notion of trauma bonding is quite real, but I’m still surprised Cumming would want to stay connected with his co-stars over what he previously described as a less-than-positive work experience. However, when I think about it, I guess it makes sense since his co-stars apparently weren’t what made the film shoot tough. With Cumming reprising his role alongside some of his co-stars in the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday, he spoke about his standing with them and whether they were on set together:

During the last decade or so, some X-Men cast members have opened up about what it was like working on some of those films, specifically the ones helmed by Singer. Many of those details seem to pertain to X2. For his part, Cumming claimed that Singer (who apparently banned comic books on the set of the OG film) would deride the cast on set, leading to issues with some of the other actors. Cumming specifically remembered Halle Berry having problems with Singer, and she eventually confronted the filmmaker as a result.

On top of all that, there came a point at which the actors apparently threatened to quit the movie if producer Tom DeSanto was barred from the set by Singer. DeSanto notably called for filming to be halted after Hugh Jackman sustained a stunt-related injury. So, needless to say, the X2 set was quite tumultuous based on the anecdotes shared by the cast.

The few details that the X-Men stars have shared about working on Joe and Anthony Russo’s Doomsday, though, suggest that the experience has been much better this time around. Cumming revealed he initially thought he was being pranked when Marvel Studios called, though he was happy to reprise Nightcrawler. The really “great” part for him was not having to be in the makeup chair as long to play the blue character. Cumming seemed to have a blast, even though he apparently injured co-star Pedro Pascal during a scene.

While the X-Men cast may hold onto that shared “trauma” years after making those early films, I’m hopeful that their experience on Marvel’s highly anticipated team-up flick will give them some better memories to bond over. The Traitors Season 4 cast list broke the internet, and that was only the first secret that Cumming had to keep for the most recent installment of the beloved competition series. And guarding spoilers was a bit of a learning curve, as he went on to share:

Talk about spilling the beans. Cirie Fields was on some of the best Survivor seasons, and is currently on TV as part of Season 50. Her inclusion in The Traitors Season 1 was a big reason why I personally watched it, and if I knew she won before it even aired it would have been a serious bummer. Unfortunately that's exactly what happened for comedian/writer Pat Regan.

Lots of Survivor icons have competed in the campy competition series over the years, with the one and only Boston Rob being part of Season 3. Alan Cumming revealed that watching him make it so far actually caused him to briefly break character in the midst of filming. As he put it:

Honestly, this is relatable. Just like when he's on Survivor, it was maddening to watch as Boston Rob managed to evade elimination time and time again on The Traitors. And Cumming was all of us in the way he reacted to The Challenge's Wes going home before him. He continued:

Same though. Luckily Alan Cumming had someone in his ear reminding him to put his poker face back on. Although now I'm curious about what other direction he's been given throughout the years.

If you needed proof that the BAFTAs operate on a slightly different, and delightfully chaotic, wavelength than other award season shows, look no further than Alan Cumming offering Kylie Jenner and Timothée Chalamet aggressively British snacks in the middle of the ceremony.

With the 98th Academy Awards looming on the 2026 TV schedule, the BAFTAs unfolded last night and promptly delivered one of the season’s most unexpected moments. The interaction, captured and shared by BBC iPlayer on Instagram, quickly made the rounds online. It’s hard to imagine a scene more quintessentially BAFTAs. In the now-viral reel (which you can watch below), Cumming strolls through the audience clutching a wicker basket of snacks, radiating the energy of a mischievous theatre kid who somehow wandered into the Dolby Theatre and decided to start handing out pub snacks.

Kylie Jenner, looking equal parts amused and slightly stunned, played along as the Nightcrawler performer brandished what is essentially a very British jam-filled biscuit the size of a saucer. Or, as Cummings hilariously put it:

The scampi fries mention may have been the most UK part of the bit. For the uninitiated, scampi fries are prawn-flavored pub snacks that smell exactly as intense as you’re imagining. Offering them to two of the most photographed people in the world, dressed in eveningwear, is the kind of cultural chaos that feels distinctly British.

Where the Oscars might lean polished and the Golden Globes lean tipsy, the BAFTAs seem to revel in theatrical absurdity. Alan Cumming, of course, is uniquely suited to that energy. A seasoned stage performer and Traitors host with impeccable comedic timing, he delivered the snack commentary with just enough wink to keep it playful rather than awkward.

It certainly helped that real-life romantic partners Jenner and Chalamet were clearly in on the joke. There’s often less rigidity, more room for theatrical whimsy, and a willingness to let things get a little strange. Sometimes, that strangeness is exactly what elevates a broadcast from polished to memorable.

Case in point: I definitely didn’t have Paddington Bear presenting an award on my bingo card, but that happened, too. And honestly? It was pure charm. The segment was beautifully staged, with the beloved, red-hatted bear delivering his lines with gentle sincerity and even referencing advice from his Aunt Lucy, a key emotional anchor in the critically acclaimed 2024’s Paddington in Peru. A particularly sweet touch came when he noted a historic first for the ceremony, adding an extra layer of warmth to an already adorable moment.

In a sea of glamorous gowns, emotional speeches and meticulously choreographed red carpet arrivals, it was pub snacks and a cuddly, hatted bear who ended up stealing the spotlight. If anything, here’s hoping this year’s Academy Awards take a page from the BAFTAs’ playbook and embrace a little well-timed whimsy.

As The Traitors continues Season 4 on the 2026 TV schedule, Alan Cumming is doing rounds with the media and doing his job as host in promoting the show. He's also been sharing his takes on the show thus far, and now that he's declared Danielle Reyes as one of the worst Traitors, she had to respond.

Cumming was a guest on Watch What Happens Live! With Andy Cohen, and wasn't afraid to get a bit messy when discussing who played the game well or not. While he struggled a bit to remember her name at first, The Traitors host was pretty certain in the fact that Danielle was the worst Traitor he's seen in the show thus far. He explained:

It's not a surprising take, as Alan Cumming echoed the same thing many fans of The Traitors had during Season 3. Former Big Brother players always tend to get a bad rap, but Danielle's over-the-top acting really rubbed viewers the wrong way. It certainly didn't help her stay off of others' radar, as she was voted out.

Perhaps Danielle Reyes played up the theatrics or played the game with her heart on her sleeve. In any case, Reyes didn't necessarily dispute what was said, but pointed out via an Instagram Stories post that The Traitors may not have an award if not for her:

Season 3 of The Traitors won an Emmy for Outstanding Reality Television Program, and I think it's fair to say that Danielle Reyes played a role in that. I'd also credit Boston Rob Mariano and Bob The Drag Queen's roundtable moment, and the overall tension of the season as well.

In any case, I don't think there's any denying that Danielle Reyes helped propel The Traitors to its big Emmy win, and solidified it as one of the reasons that viewers have a Peacock subscription. Credit to her for having a clapback ready to send back to Alan Cumming, though I'm sure there's no big beef between them.

Season 4 of The Traitors hasn't been quite as heavy on the drama, though I think Rob Rausch is making a strong case as one of the best we've seen on the show. We'll see if he can stick it out and make it to the end, and even if he doesn't, he's for sure one of the best players this game has ever seen.

The Traitors continues on Peacock on Thursdays with new episodes at 9:00 p.m. ET. The good news for Danielle Reyes is that there's always a chance for Alan Cumming to have worse choices for Traitors going forward, especially with a spinoff on the way.

Thanks to The Traitors being on the 2026 TV schedule, I’m on the edge of my seat every Thursday night, and I’m living for it. We’ve got another juicy season of the competitive social deception game. While I’m usually on the side of truth, justice and the faithful way, I need to talk about while I’m Team Traitor this time around.

Forget Team Faithful, Because I'm All In On Rob Rausch As A Traitor

It’s taken six episodes to cement this opinion, but as an audience member, my loyalty lies completely with Mr. Rob Rausch to win the whole game as a traitor (but no, I wouldn’t be mad if another traitor won along with him). For some context, I’m not a reality TV superfan who knows a lot of the players on the show. I know of like five of the contestants! Truly, the Love Island alum has won me over on his gameplay and personality alone.

Episode 6 in particular was a big moment for me that has me wanting to make Team Rob T-shirts. When he divulged his struggle to vote out Ron Funches because he understands where he’s emotionally at within the group and is rooting for him, it was a really sweet move for a traitor. Sure, he totally ignored the strategy of his fellow traitors, but I like that he’s been playing a fair and logical game rather than backstabbing everyone on his path to glory. Yes, he technically betrayed Lisa Rinna at the roundtable, but it’s also not his fault Colton found a convincing argument to put her on the chopping block.

In contrast, think about Season 1’s winner Cirie Fields. Her gameplay also impressed me, but I wanted the faithful to find her out throughout the season just to call out all her insincerity along the way. I really like the idea of Rob proving that you can win the game and be true to yourself, too. Like if Rob won tomorrow, I think the other faithfuls would truly be standing up and clapping about a job well done. Rob might need to end up acting more traitorous to ultimately win, but at this point, it seems like he’d rather get caught than play an unfairly nasty game. Hey, maybe I'll eat my words later, but oh, well.

Why Else The Faithfuls Aren't Getting Me Invested

The other reason why I’m not rooting for the faithfuls as much this year is because it feels like there’s a lot less loyalty and critical thinking among them on their end this time around. In previous seasons there’s been a camaraderie between a few groups of faithfuls, but it kind of feels like at this point it’s every man and woman for themselves. Look, there’s definitely been a few attempts from a few of the faithfuls to find allies and help each other out (oh, do I wish the Big Brother players hadn’t stumbled!) , but there’s been a lot more faithfuls just being hellbent on getting other players out without a lot of concrete evidence. Tiffany’s gameplay was a good example in my opinion, and it ultimately got her off the show.

Now, I was all in on Michael Rapaport’s banishment, but come on, you know it’s bad when the faithfuls would rather take out one of their own than actually play the game. They’ve only gotten one traitor out, and to be honest I think Momma Kelce’s banishment was them getting lucky. While the faithful seem to be listening to the noise, I admire Rob’s gameplay a lot, and I’m rooting for him to win the whole dang thing.

Doomsday looks like it's going to be a wild multiversal story, and there are countless questions about what's going to go down. Both the Fantastic Four and the X-Men are from alternate universes, and it should be fascinating to see how they eventually collide. Robert Downey Jr.'s Doctor Doom is expected to form an evil plan involving multiple timelines, and I can't wait to see the crossovers that will follow.

Mark Ballas may have officially lost out on his fourth shot at the Len Goodman Mirrorball Trophy following his and Whitney Leavitt’s elimination on Dancing With The Stars, but the pro dancer has another shot at reality TV bragging rights on the 2026 TV schedule. I’m talking about Ballas’ upcoming stint on The Traitors Season 4 with a host of celebrities from Survivor, The Real Housewives, Big Brother, and such. He just offered up a big tease about what to expect.

In an interview with Chicks In The Office (on TikTok), Mark Ballas was asked to reveal “anything” he could about his role in the coming season. Here’s what he said at first:

Wow – talk about a way to describe it! Ballas said that he and his wife love games and watching game shows together, and they became fast fans of The Traitors when they stumbled upon it. But when he received the call to actually join the show, his instant answer was a “no.” That is until his wife cut in and said he was “fucking going.” As he continued:

Now, that makes you wonder, doesn’t it? Mark Ballas is referring to something Alan Cumming said to E! News over the summer about the upcoming season. The show’s host said “about halfway through” the season “there is a scene in it that is the greatest moment in Traitors history.” Cumming also called it “utter carnage” along with calling it “just mad” and “brilliant”. Ballas also said this about the moment:

Oh, what could it be? A new cast member arriving? Some backstabbing? A twist in the game? Anything could happen, and now I need the premiere date to come sooner than ever.

It was revealed earlier this month that Season 4 is set to premiere its first episode on Thursday, January 8. He’s not the first pro from Dancing With The Stars to be on the show. Previously, Maksim Chmerkovskiy was on the second season of the U.S. version, but only lasted three episodes. Current DWTS finalist Dylan Efron was on the third season, and won the show as a Faithful alongside three other contestants. DWTS judge Derek Hough showed some FOMO about Ballas joining the show, so who knows what other pros could join future seasons?

Considering Ballas is a big fan of The Traitors, I definitely think he’ll do well on the new season, but until then I’ll be counting down the days!

Since the U.S. version of one of the best reality shows, The Traitors, premiered, it’s been a hit. Part of its success is thanks to Alan Cumming, the series’ campy but endlessly stylish host. Since day one, he’s upheld his zany and iconic but surprisingly in-depth looks without breaking a sweat–rocking everything from classic kilts to tartan corsets. Yet, his dyed hair getup for Season 4 may top the list for his wildest look yet.

Truthfully, any of the host’s past wardrobe paired with his ridiculous but signature Scottish brogue makes for conversation. If you’re a fan of the show, you know there’s a lot more in that set closet than kilts and tartan-clad items. It’s absolutely one of the brightest picks the X2 actor has donned on the show. The textured monochrome suit would be something in its own right if he still had his blondish-white hair, but the strawberry pop changes everything. Don’t get me wrong, I’m loving the color palette, but the choice has to say something? I’m dying to know when, why and where within the season it happens, and if it’s for a challenge or just for fashion.

I know I’ll likely have to wait for answers until new episodes hit the 2026 TV schedule and are available to watch with a Peacock subscription, but I want them now. The Traitors Season 4 cast announcement already created so much buzz around the coming installment, and I didn’t think much could top that. Personally, I was already hyped about Monet X Change, Lisa Rinna, Donna Kelce and Ron Funches meeting one another, but this new look adds to the excitement.

Truly, I wasn’t and still am not prepared for all the fun of next year’s season. Learning the depth of Cumming’s styling process and love of campy fashion for the show makes me even more excited, too.

All of it also makes me think of the promise The Good Wife alum made in the summer about how the greatest moment in franchise history is heading our way. While I don't know what he was referring to, yet, I do hope some fabulous looks, like this one, are involved.

Whenever we do get this wild style on Alan Cumming, I’m sure it’ll have a pretty grand entrance. It absolutely deserves one now that we’ve gotten a peek that it’s coming. Until Season 4 arrives, mark your calendars for the January 8 premiere, and fingers crossed, we get answers on the surprise colored ‘do sooner than later!

Speaking to E! News in a clip shared on TikTok, Cumming confirms that fans will get to see a true pinnacle moment about halfway through the season. Here's what he said about the crown jewel moment:

It’s quite a promise to begin 2026, considering each new season has continued to top the one before. But for a Season 4 moment to overtake The Traitors’ best highlight ever is beyond big. Especially when it wasn't that long ago when we saw Bob The Drag Queen calling Zac Efron a bad actor, and before that, we had Phaedra Park's viral gameplay. Lest we forget about Below Deck’s Kate Chastain’s incredible Season 1 game.

Who and what could pull off this historic feat? My money would’ve been on one of the bigger Housewives, Monet X Change or even a Survivor player to bring down the house. But with the catalog of famous faces expanding from actor/podcasters, a famous mom to award winning Olympians, I’m frankly baffled and couldn’t be more excited about the surprise. Where it’ll go down, I’d assume at a round table but something feels too small for Cummings' promise.

I do hope the reveal is as twisty and shocking as some of past seasons' events. It’s half the fun of watching these public personalities competing, there will always be an elevated angle. Don’t get me wrong, I get and appreciate NBC’s new version of The Traitors with civilians for more strategic game play. But at this point, I came for strategy but have stayed for the dramatics.

All I know is that I trust that this event will be big and has me more hyped than ever since the series’ host has an excellent flair for theatrics. Case and point: Alan Cumming's show accent, the process of how the traitors are chosen and his wonderfully campy chic wardrobe. Make sure to have a Peacock subscription ready to go for Season 4’s 2026 release and prepare yourself for ‘the greatest moment’ in Traitors history.

In just a few short years The Traitors has become one of the best reality TV shows on the air. Those with a Peacock subscription can watch not only the US series, but the international ones as well. While the cast of The Traitors Season 4 is full of reality TV icons, it was recently announced that we'll also be getting a season with normies. But to be honest, I'm a little nervous about how this will affect fan reception of the show. Allow me to explain.

The U.S. version of The Traitors has used reality tv stars from the jump. Season 1 was a mixture of celebrities and icons like winner Cirie Fields. But there hasn't been an American version without celebrities just yet. Plenty of Traitors fans are hyped for this season, but I'm worried it might ruin the celebrity ones. As someone who has watched all the international version of The Traitors, I can say that the gameplay is typically much more sophisticated. If the first normie season is great, then I fear we won't be able to unring that bell for US fans.

Normie seasons of The Traitors Generally Have Better Gameplay

Having reality stars compete on The Traitors has definitely made for some truly iconic moments. I mean, Phaedra Parks saying "Oh Lord, not Ekin-Su" lives in my mind rent-free, as does Bob The Drag Queen calling Zac Efron a bad actor. But sometimes it seems like these casts might be more concerned with making good television than playing a good game.

When I started dipping my toe into international version of The Traitors, I was taken by how many more twists and turns typically happen. We see way more banishments of Traitors, as well as complicated moments of deception. While there's a severe lack of stars of Survivor and Real Housewives, I can't deny that the actual game being played usually ends being more fascinating without celebrities.

That being said, the soundbites, comedy and drama happening with the celebs on NBC's The Traitors is also amazing television. I'm sitting watching to stream every new episode, especially as a reality TV fan. I mean, this show is basically my Avengers. Plus the Housewives I think would be great on The Traitors keep getting cast.

But if history repeats itself, NBC's non-celebrity season of The Traitors might end up being a more thrilling game than the one that American audiences are used to. If this happens, I fear that TV audiences might turn on the celebrity ones altogether. We'll just have to wait and see if these two seasons buoy each other or if one cannibalizes the other.

What's clear is that The Traitors is an Emmy-winning sensation, and we should expect more of Alan Cumming's accent and penchant for alliteration for the foreseeable future.

The Marvel Cinematic Universe is constantly expanding, thanks to releases hitting theaters and streaming with a Disney+ subscription. Without a doubt the most highly anticipated upcoming Marvel movie is Avengers: Doomsday, which will be a massive crossover event. A number of actors from the X-Men movies are returning including Alan Cumming, who recently shared that the "spoiler" he shared might not actually be accurate. Let's break it all down.

What we know about Avengers: Doomsday is super limited, which is why Cumming's comments about fighting Pedro Pascal went viral. But in a recent interview with Golden Derby, the acclaimed host of The Traitors revealed that he might have been mistaken. In his words:

Well, now I'm confused. It sounds like Cumming basically filmed his return as Nightcrawler by himself, and he'll be added to the ensemble of Doomsday through visual effects. And it turns out that Marvel's tight security was even keeping secrets from him during this shooting process.

While he originally claimed that he was fighting Pascal's Reed Richrads in the blockbuster, it sounds like Alan Cumming might be walking that back. Namely because the studio even kept him in the dark regarding who his scene partners are. The suspense is killing me!

Fans were shocked when Cumming and his fellow X-Men stars were included in Avengers: Doomsday's cast announcement. The movie will feature multiple teams of heroes including the Avengers, New Avengers, Fantastic Four, and (of course) the X-Men. It's unclear how these factions will end up interacting, but with the multiverse in play anything is possible.

The Goldeneye actor is thrilled about playing Nightcrawler decades after X-2: X-Men United hit theaters. Especially because Cumming's makeup process is so much shorter than it was ack in the day. Exactly how he will factor into the overall story remains a mystery, but the actor's comments about his isolation makes me think that his screentime might be limited in the highly anticipated blockbuster.

Fans who have spent years watching the Marvel movies in order have not-so-patiently been waiting for the X-Men to finally join the fun. Disney's acquisition of 20th Century Fox opened the door for this to happen, but we still haven't seen the team of mutants assembled in live-action. And the fact that actors from the Fox franchise are reprising their roles is extra reason to be excited.

All will be revealed when Avengers: Doomsday hits theaters next December 18th as part of the 2026 movie release list. Hopefully we get more information about the X-Men factor into the story soon.

Based on the Avengers: Doomsday cast reveal, it looks like we’ll be getting the Marvel superhero reunion that dreams are made of. Not only will The Avengers and The Fantastic Four be sharing screen time, but so will iconic X-Men heroes like Nightcrawler. Considering I haven’t seen Alan Cumming’s blue-skinned character since 2003’s X2 (which is streaming on your Disney+ subscription), I’m psyched to see the Scottish actor returning for the upcoming Marvel movie. Even more so now after the “ooey gooey comments” he made.

Even though his character was only in one movie, I always thought that Nightcrawler was one of the coolest superheroes of the X-Men movies. Kodi Smit-McPhee may have been excellent in the prequels, but I still can’t get over Alan Cumming’s performance in one of the best action scenes of the franchise when Nightcrawler infiltrated the White House, crawling on ceilings and transporting himself away from flying bullets. So you can imagine how pumped I was to find out Cumming was returning to Avengers: Doomsday with his fellow X-Men cast after 23 years.

Earlier this month, the Spice World actor told People that he “just finished” filming the MCU flick. After describing his return as Nightcrawler with “ooey gooey” comments, I’m even happier about the X-Men mutant’s long-awaited return:

“Ooey gooey,” huh? I need to know what that means. Could he be describing the make-up process? Because at least this time around, the talented actor previously said “what’s great” about his return is only spending 90 minutes in the makeup chair compared to the four-and-a-half hours he spent in X2.

Or, maybe there’s some kind of intense, gory scene he’s involved in. The only spoiler Cumming let slip about Doomsday was that he hits Pedro Pascal’s Reed over the head with something. Whatever Nightcrawler’s role is in the new MCU movie, I’m all for it!

In Alan Cumming’s memoir Baggage: Tales from a Fully Packed Life, he described his experience in X2 as “miserable” due to his extensive makeup time and conflicts with director Bryan Singer. Fortunately, this time around, The Good Wife actor seemed to have a much more positive go, and his reasoning makes a lot of sense:

It’s true that age really is just a number in the MCU. Paul Rudd and 10 other Marvel stars are over 50 and can still perform stunt work and wear the armored suits for future superhero movies. So I have no doubt that Cumming can do the same thing. While the Primetime Emmy nominee said his time on set wasn’t “very long at all,” I’d still like to believe he’ll be giving audiences a very memorable performance once again.

Nightcrawler coming back in all of his “ooey, gooey” goodness is a real treat for X-Men fans. With the expectations of the mutant’s thrilling acrobatic scenes and soulful heart coming into play yet again, audiences can look forward to seeing their fan-favorite character transport his way back to the big screen on December 18, 2026.

The Traitors has become a standout competition show over its three seasons so far, with viewers tuning in with a Peacock subscription for all the lies, betrayals, twists, and turns. Season 4 will arrive on the streamer after the 2025 TV schedule has ended with a celebrity cast list including Donna Kelce, but fans of the celebs competing against each other now have the opportunity of trying their own hands at the game. The Civilian Version Of The Traitors

Fear not, fans – host Alan Cumming will fill that role for the NBC season just like he has for three seasons and counting on Peacock. It’s not shocking that the network would want to give the show a shot in primetime, as the internet is buzzing on a weekly basis when new episodes are released on Peacock. Plus, NBC’s biggest reality show, America’s Got Talent, airs over the summer each year. There could be a market for another competition show during other months of the television season. Just look at shows like Big Brother and The Amazing Race over on CBS!

I wouldn’t be shocked to see The Traitors airing at a different time of year than the summer, unless Destination X is cancelled to open up the post-AGT time slot. (Fun fact, though: former The Traitors contestant Peter Weber was also a Destination X contestant who I found myself consistently rooting against.) NBCUniversal exec Sharon Vuong said this about the Alan Cumming-hosted show coming to NBC without any celebrities (via TVLine):

So, what does it take to compete in a season of The Traitors? Fans of the streaming seasons could surely go into a civilian season with their own strategies in mind, but applicants have to make the cut first, and I’m pretty intrigued by the list of requirements.

Eligibility Requirements For The Traitors On NBC

Applications for The Traitors are already open (and you can apply here if interested), and the top description fits with what the celebrity version has delivered across three seasons. According to the application, they are “looking for smart, strategic everyday people to compete in the ultimate game of trust & treachery,” followed by “Are you a FAITHFUL or are you a TRAITOR?” With a prize of $250,000 and plenty of franchise fans already, I have no doubt that plenty of people will apply.

But the eligibility requirements get a little more interesting later in the application. With the application window open between now and March 20, 2026, any potential competitors will have to be a U.S. citizen who can travel to the U.K. for filming in the Scottish Highlands. Production is expected to occur for four weeks between May - June 2026, which indicates that the show could be ready to premiere in the fall of the 2026-2027 TV season rather than paired with America’s Got Talent in the summer.

Applicants will be considered as long as “You are not currently, nor do you currently intend to be, a candidate for public office”. Among other criteria is the requirement for participants to submit to a “background check and physical and psychological examinations by medical professionals,” and “submission of medical information to the Producer, and the certification of the medical professionals that you meet all physical and psychological requirements.”

On a more fun note, the application also asks applicants whether they would choose to be a Traitor or a Faithful if given the choice, although it’s much too soon to say if the selected competitors will get their wish! In the meantime, the first three seasons of The Traitors’ celebrity version are available streaming on Peacock. Not a lot is known about the kinds of competitors the new crop of stars will be in Season 4 in 2026, which may be partly due to Donna Kelce keeping secrets from her famous sons!

As someone who has been simultaneously watching The Good Wife for the first time and Elsbeth weekly on the 2025 TV schedule, I think a lot about how the two worlds could cross over. Obviously, we've seen characters from Elsbeth’s past life come into her show. However, we’ve also seen beloved Good Wife guest stars pop into the Carrie Preston-led show as totally new characters.

So, with that in mind, I need to see Alan Cumming, who played Eli Gold on The Good Wife and The Good Fight, on Elsbeth. However, I don’t want him to play the campaign manager, and I need you to hear me out here…

I’d Rather See Alan Cumming Play A New Character Rather Than Eli Gold

Now, I fully realize Eli Gold is an iconic and beloved figure in the greater Good Wife universe. As I’ve been binging the show with my Paramount+ subscription, I’ve loved seeing Cumming’s character work with Alicia and Peter to further Peter’s political career.

However, think about how delicious it would be to see Cumming play an over-the-top murderer or suspect in the world of Elsbeth.

That dream is not unprecedented, either. Nathan Lane, who was a prominent guest star on The Good Wife, played a new character who was the murderer in the Season 2 premiere of Elsbeth. It was so fun to see Lane sink his teeth into this new role, and it was delightful to see this actor known for his stage work play a murderer with a story deeply connected to the theater.

I want the same thing for Cumming. Over the last few years, we’ve gotten to see him play an incredibly over-the-top version of himself as the host of The Traitors, and that’s the kind of energy I want him to bring here.

Seeing Cumming as a new New York personality who goes head-to-head with Elsbeth would be a blast. And, honestly, he is the perfect person for a role like this; he'd fit right in with the catalog of eccentric characters.

However, I’m Also Not Opposed To Seeing Him Reprise His Good Wife Character. We Could Have Both.

Now, obviously, it’d be fun to see Eli reunite with Elsbeth. I mean, Cumming did guest star on The Good Fight, so I’m sure he’s not 100% opposed to playing the character again. Plus, he told Vulture when that episode, which was called “The End of Eli Gold,” aired that they didn’t kill his character off because “they could bring me back.”

At the time, Elsbeth did not exist. However, the possibility of more shows within The Good Wife universe was around. So, it seems like the X-Men actor hadn’t totally closed the door on playing his beloved character.

Therefore, I’m also not opposed to seeing Eli return. In fact, I’d welcome it. All I’m saying here is I’d rather see Cumming play a new murderer first.

Maybe, it could be revealed that Eli has an evil twin. Maybe, Cumming could get a full makeover for his role as a murderer and use his Scottish accent so he looks and sounds totally different from his Good Wife character.

The realm of possibility is vast, and anything is possible in the world of Elsbeth. So, let’s make all this and more happen!

Avengers: Doomsday is currently in production, so you can bet there are a lot of fans who are dying to get some information about what will happen in the upcoming Marvel movie. You can also bet Marvel Studios will be keeping a tight grip on things in an attempt to prevent any spoilers from leaking. However, actors talk, and it’s virtually impossible to prevent them from saying something. Tom Holland and Mark Ruffalo are often seen as the major leaks, but let’s welcome Alan Cumming to the potential spoiler party.

At this point we have no idea how all the X-Men characters will fit into Avengers: Doomsday, but talking with Buzzfeed, Cumming does reveal at least one fight sequence in the film could involve Nightcrawler battling Mr. Fantastic, played by Pedro Pascal. He was talking about how surprised he was to be back playing Nightcrawler when he said…

To be sure, as spoilers go, this is quite light, but it’s still interesting to learn that some of our heroes could find themselves fighting each other at some point in the movie. Maybe it’s a case of confusion over who the good guys are between characters from alternate worlds. Perhaps the actors will play multiple versions of their characters, and some of them won’t be quite so good.

Of course, the description also indicates that Alan Cumming and Pedro Pascal weren't actually on set together. It's possible that Cumming doesn't actually know what he was doing, as it sounds like he was working against CGI.

Whatever the reason, and as small a reveal as this is, it’s probably still more than Marvel would like out in the world. If Alan Cumming gets a phone call from somebody at Marvel Studios PR who is not happy with him, the good news is he’s not alone.

Tom Holland And Other Marvel Actors Are Known For Being Spoiler Sources

Marvel spoilers are nothing new, and they’re more or less impossible to entirely avoid. However, much of the time, they’re not a result of anonymous sources from the set so much as they’re the result of an actor speaking in an interview and simply saying too much. Tom Holland is so well known for talking too much that he’s often paired with other actors in interviews who seem to be specifically tasked with making sure he doesn’t say too much.

Holland’s ability to stay quiet has improved in recent years, but he’s not the only problem. Mark Ruffalo has also been known to give the game away.

So, I’m not saying Alan Cumming is going to our new source for all things Avengers: Doomsday, but he certainly sounds like a good place to start.

Honestly, this seems like a game changer. While practical makeup and prosthetics help to bring comic book characters to life, the experience of sitting in the chair before filming even begins can be grueling. For example: Dave Bautista called his Drax makeup "a nightmare", while Jennifer Lawrence went through this process to play Mystique in the X-Men movies. Although it sounds like the technology has really move forward, at least where Alan Cumming's Nightcrawler is concerned.

While Cumming only appeared in X-Men 2, Nightcrawler got more time on the big screen thanks to the First Class trilogy (plus Dark Phoenix). Played by Kodi Smit-McPhee, we were introduced to a younger version of Kurt Wagner who shared the same vulnerability that Alan Cumming brought to the character. Alas, it is the OGs who are being brought back for Avengers: Doomsday, including Kelsey Grammer, Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, Rebecca Romijn, and James Marsden. Although Kevin Feige has teased that this is "some not all" of the casting for that blockbuster.

It sounds like the Goldeneye actor will have to spend way less time in the makeup hair this time around, and it should be interesting to see if that changes his performances as Nightcrawler at all. Either way, fans are excited.

Today ended up being a big day for Avengers: Doomsday, one of the most highly-anticipated upcoming Marvel movies. Marvel Studios slowly unveiled the cast of Doomsday through showing the names of its actors on chairs, and it turns out that this movie will be a major platform for the X-Men to shine. Following the reveal of Kelsey Grammer reprising Beast, which follows his return to the role in The Marvels, more actors from the Fox-era of X-Men movies have been announced for Doomsday, including Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen.

I was already pretty excited for Avengers: Doomsday, much of which is because I’m intrigued to see what’s done with Robert Downey Jr.’s Doctor Doom. However, hearing so many actors who’ve played mutant heroes and villains in the past will also show up has me even pumped about the 2026 flick. Here’s who we can expect to see in Doomsday X-Men-wise:

• Patrick Stewart - Professor X
• Ian McKellan - Magneto
• Alan Cumming - Nightcrawler
• Rebecca Romijn - Mystique
• James Marsden - Cyclops
• Channing Tatum - Gambit

Some of these people already have MCY experience, like Patrick Stewart appearing in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness and Channing Tatum finally getting to portray Gambit in Deadpool & Wolverine after the character’s solo movie was scrapped. Others, like Ian McKellen and James Marsden, haven’t played their characters in well over a decade, if not longer. Alan Cumming takes the prize for the longest gap in reprising his role, as he only ever played Nightcrawler, a.k.a. Kurt Wagner, in 2003’s X2: X-Men United.

Avengers: Doomsday may technically be spotlighting Earth’s Mightiest Heroes, but with the amount of X-Men actors confirmed to appear, this might as well count partly as an X-Men movie, right? Still, it’s not surprising that so many of these heroes and villains will appear. The opening up of the Marvel multiverse has allowed for mutants from other realities to appear. Not only that, but mutants have also been introduced into the main MCU reality through Iman Vellani’s Ms. Marvel and Tenoch Huerta’s Namor, the latter of whom is also confirmed to appear in Doomsday.

Keep in mind that just because these actors are all returning for Avengers: Doomsday doesn’t mean they’ll be playing the same versions of their characters from the older X-Men movies. Just like how the Beast we saw in The Marvels was clearly not the same one from X-Men: The Last Stand, the Professor X, Magneto, Nightcrawler, Mystique and Cyclops appearing could be from other corners of the Marvel multiverse. Maybe they even all live in the same universe as the new Beast. I think it’s probably safe to say, though that the Gambit appearing in Doomsday will be the same one who debuted in Deadpool & Wolverine.

I’m looking forward to seeing how these X-Men characters fit into Avengers; Doomsday when it opens in theaters on May 1, 2026. Meanwhile, remember that you can use your Disney+ subscription to stream the X-Men movies and nearly the entirety of the MCU.

The Traitors is arguably one of the best reality shows out there, thanks to its cast of reality TV legends that are facing off in the campy series. The Traitors Season 3 cast list didn't disappoint, and neither did the fashions from Emmy-winning host Alan Cumming. His stylist recently revealed what goes into his outrageous and fabulous costuming on the show, and it turns out that its weeks of work for each new season.

While some folks took a while to figure out how to stream The Traitors Season 3, hardcore fans with a Peacock subscription are still recovering from all the wild events and fashion. Aside from Cumming's hilarious accent, he's also known for the bold looks he rocks throughout the castle. Stylist Sam Spector spoke to THR about what goes into finding the right fashions for the Romy and Michelle alum. As he put it:

Alan Cumming is both the host and a producer on The Traitors, so he's intimately involved in what's going on in the game of murder and treachery. And it turns out he's also very hands-on with his looks, and his collaboration with Sam Spector. As the stylist shared in the same interview:

While it might have been easy to dial in Alan Cumming's look and keep them in line with what the cast of The Traitors is wearing, that's not what's happening. Instead there's inspiration being drawn from research, fashion from the runway, and a give and take between he and Spector.

Alas, we'll likely have to wait another year before Alan Cumming returns as the host of Season 4 of The Traitors. The first three season have all aired beginning in January, so a fourth installment needs to be filmed and edited. Luckily for fans who don't want to wait, there are international version of the show on Peacock.

Huge spoilers ahead for the Season 3 finale of The Traitors.

In just a few short years The Traitors has established itself as one of the best reality shows out there. While some people had to figure out how to stream The Traitors Season 3, those with a Peacock subscription ate up every new episode and twist of the game. And while the season finale made up for some of the season's messy gameplay, I can't believe one person specifically won the game: Dolores Catania.

Prior to her appearing as part of The Traitors Season 3 cast list, Dolores was high on my list of Housewives who I thought could be great on the show. Unfortunately, the RHONJ fan favorite failed to meet my expectations, and consistently made pointless votes at The Round Table. So I am really shocked that in the end she was one of the four victorious Faithful who took home the prize pot.

For entire weeks of The Traitors episodes, Dolores threw her vote away, aiming at the likes of Tom Sandoval and Ivar Mountbatten. This was especially frustrating as the numbers got smaller, and every vote mattered in order to actually eliminate someone. While Dolo was able to finally target a Traitor in the final Round Tale against Britney, it was too little too late for me.

What Happened In The Season 3 Finale

After the penultimate episode of the season left Danielle's fate in the air with a cliffhanger, it was revealed that Britney did (once again) betray her fellow Big Brother player and voted her to be banished. And after Danielle left, there was the question of whether or not there was one more Traitor among them.

The cast pointed their suspicions on Britney at the final Round Table, successfully voting out the final Traitor (although they didn't know if they picked correctly or not). From there the final fire ceremony took place, and the remaining four contestants decided to trust each other. And just like that, the Faithful won again, with the prize money being split between Gabby, Dylan, Dolores, and Ivar.

I'm not alone in disbelief that Catania ended up somehow winning The Traitors despite almost never voting for the right person. Fans sounded off on Twitter with funny memes, like this one assessing the four winners.

Out of the four winning Faithful, Gabby and Dylan by far had the best game play and strategy. Despite being at odds early in the game, they were able to squash the beef and work together in order to ensure they were victorious. And voting-wise, they were on the right side of history for most of the big Traitor eliminations.

Dolores has definitely been taking some heat online for the gameplay in The Traitors, despite being a beloved Bravolebrity. That's why there's been so many memes about her voting history, including this Tweet.

Dolores being able to win The Traitors despite her confounding gameplay throughout Season 3 is just one reason why the Peacock series continues to be so wildly entertaining. Every season is so different depending on who is cast, and how the group dynamics ultimately play out. Her poor voting record made her not seem threatening enough to be murdered, and her name rarely came up at the Round Tale (mostly from Sandoval). And all it took was for her to get to the end with the right people to take home a share of the prize money.

While now we have to deal with the long wait between seasons, Peacock luckily dropped the newest installment of The Traitors UK. So those of us who are addicted to the murderous mayhem don't have to stop cold turkey.

Back in 2018, Alan Cumming guest starred in the Doctor Who episode “The Witchfinders” as King James I, with whom the Thirteenth Doctor and her companions crossed paths. Seven years later, Cumming has been regularly getting attention for hosting the popular reality TV series The Traitors, which can be streamed with a Peacock subscription. Today, however, brings word he’s being brought back for Doctor Who’s upcoming season, though it’s doubtful anyone could have predicted the new character he’ll be playing.

The announcement of Cumming’s return accompanied the reveal that Doctor Who Season 2, a.k.a. the 15th season of the modern era, will debut on the 2025 TV schedule Saturday, April 12 at 12 am PT/3 am ET. Just like with the 60th anniversary specials and this last season, it will be exclusively streamable with a Disney+ subscription where available outside of the United Kingdom. Cumming’s voice will be heard aching Mr. Ring-a-Ding in the season’s second episode.

Officially described as a “happy, funny, singalong cartoon, who lives in Sunny Town with his friend Sunshine Sally,” Mr. Ring-a-Ding will come into the Fifteenth Doctor’s orbit in 1952, after years of his animated appearances being presented in theaters. When he “suddenly looks beyond the screen and sees the real world outside,” the consequences of this decision will be “terrifying.” Doctor Who showunner Russell T. Davies said this about Cumming lending his talents to the series again:

I am all for Alan Cumming playing a chaotic cartoon who’s giving the kind of vibes Miss Minutes did over on Loki. The Doctor, played nowadays by Ncuti Gatwa, has seen and dealt with a lot of strange things over the millennia he’s been traveling across time and space in the TARDIS, but I have to imagine a living cartoon will rank as one of the strangest. Here’s the question on my mind now: will Mr. Ring-a-Ding gain sentience on his own or will a member of the Pantheon be responsible?

Whatever the reason, The Doctor will have to contend with Mr. Ring-a-Ding alongside his new companion Belinda Chandra, played by Varada Sethu, who also appeared as Mundy Flynn in the episode “Boom” last season. Upon The Doctor and Belinda meeting, it’ll be up to the Time Lord to get her back to Earth. Unfortunately, this journey will be complicated by “a mysterious force is stopping their return,” resulting in them running into “great dangers, bigger enemies and wider terrors than ever before.” We can now count Alan Cumming’s troublemaking cartoon character as part of that lineup.

Once again, Doctor Who Season 2 premieres on April 12, with episodes being released weekly. Millie Gibson will also reprise Ruby Sunday, although it remains to be seen how much she and The Doctor will interact during the new season. Other guest stars joining Alan Cumming this season include Jonah Hauer-King, Archie Panjabi, Rose Ayling-Ellis and Christopher Chung.

I don’t know about you, but when it comes to the 2025 TV schedule, the series I’m starting my year hooked on is the U.S. version of The Traitors. I know, I know, it’s been a hot topic for those with a Peacock subscription since the U.S. version of the show started in 2023, but I’m just getting into watching all the lying and treachery this month. I want to talk about why it took me so long, and why I’ve just about never binged a series faster.

If you too are catching up on the hype, The Traitors is a reality game show that has a group of people venturing to a castle in the Scottish Highlands to play a social deception game. A select few are secretly selected by host Alan Cumming to serve as as “traitors” while the rest of the contestants are “faithfuls”. Oh, and $250,000 is on the line to win. While the Traitors are tasked with anonymously "killing" a contestant each week, it is the job of the faithfuls to suss out the traitors, because if there are any left in the game at the end, they will be the only ones to win money and thus, the faithfuls will leave Scotland empty handed. Now, I’ll get into my fun journey with the show as a recent first-time viewer.

I Waited To Start The Traitors Because I Don’t Know Most Of The Contestants

When it comes to reality TV, I wouldn’t say that I am a frequent viewer. In recent years, I have fallen into the trap of dating shows within Bachelor Nation and Netflix series like Love Is Blind, and every once in a while I’ll get into a competition show like Dancing With The Stars or The Voice. So when, I decided to turn on the first season of The Traitors, I really didn’t know anything about most of the contestants from shows like Survivor, Big Brother or Real Housewives. The only familiar one for me, was Arie from The Bachelorette and The Bachelor.

This was the main reason why I steered clear of The Traitors. In the ads for the show, it seemed to market the personalities of these shows as selling points, when I’d never seen them before in my life. However, when I decided to just give it a try, it was only the first episode or two that had me feeling like I had to fill in the gaps about who the players were. After that, I was really able to settle into the game and not feel like I was missing much by not seeing the shows some of the players are from.

But, As Soon As I Started I Had To Be Pulled Away From My TV

I wouldn’t call myself much of a binge-watcher either, but as soon as I understood the concept of The Traitors and started seeing it play out, it felt like all I wanted to do was sit on my couch and hit play until the finale. Over just a few days, I experienced the first season, and was really impressed with how much I enjoyed it. Wow, these people are ruthless for money!

Why am I so into this show? First off, I think it’s really cleverly executed. I’m someone who would absolutely cringe if I had to play a social deception game because I’m a horrible liar, but to sit back and watch one play out where the stakes is hundreds and thousands of dollars, it feels like one big social experiment along with having players who know how to both be entertaining and have a good time with it.

It's always intriguing to see shows that have people work for big sums of cash, and between his elaborate outfits and performance, Alan Cumming is one of the best series hosts I've ever seen. He's committed to a theatrical character, and it just works so well. Oh, and the sets! The sets are gorgeous. It does feel like you're watching a movie play out with how well thought out each part of the game is.

At first I enjoyed the “game show” element of there being missions and being clued in on the traitors strategy, but ultimately I think my curiosity grew and grew because it’s addicting to watch the group of people know multiple people are lying to gain for themselves, and how that poisons the water and affects how they act and go about things. What does it take to be successful in The Traitors? What twists would come up next? I was on the edge of my seat.

Why Not Knowing The Contestants Actually Makes It A Lot Of Fun

While I initially thought that The Traitors wouldn’t be for me because of its connection with so many reality shows, ultimately I think it’s accessible to anyone. I’d even recommend more people who are not into reality TV get into it with me, because I I feel like I had perhaps an even better time being short-sided by what I would be getting from each player and how they would react in different situations. In Season 1 for example, one who has watched Survivor might already be privy to the fact that Cirie is a master at reality TV game play, but since each player was seen in my eyes as an equal in the beginning, I watched as they presented themselves and their strategies in different situations.

If you do join the dark side with me, I do recommend starting at the beginning. I’m happy I didn’t throw myself into streaming The Traitors Season 3 first, because Season 1 is the only season of the U.S. version that has a mix of civilians and stars. It was also a blast to see the reality veterans interact with fans of reality TV, because it added a new layer of deception for the players, too.

After Finishing The First Season I Totally Understand Why It Needs All The Reality Stars

Since starting Season 3 and seeing who Alan Cumming chose out of a castle full of big names, I understand why the series decided to fill the entire castle with reality stars going forward. They are more likely to be big personalities who stir the pot, and the faithfuls in the first season seemed to lose an edge because they were not playing to the same cunning level as the reality stars.

Sure, there’s a part of me that just wants to see everyday people play this social deception game, but after watching the first season and getting into the current season, I’m aware that the reality TV stars just add so much gloss and danger to the game.

Anyway, I’ll be watching the new season week by week and watching what I missed at a later date. I'm an officially a faithful to The Traitors.

The Traitors Season 3 is here, and I'm all over following it weekly on the 2025 TV schedule. Every week, as the reality stars in the castle try to vote out all the traitors as faithfuls get murdered one by one every night, I watch, and I need an outlet to talk about who's being banished, murdered and who might be next. Follow along with me.

As of episode 7, there are 11 total players left in the game, two of which are traitors. Let's talk about who has left the game and who could be on the chopping block.

The Banished

My favorite part of The Traitors is absolutely the banishments. They can be so interesting and spicy to watch, especially when it comes to the banished entering the "Circle of Trust." So far, six players have been banished from the game. Here's the current standings:

Faithfuls: 2 , Traitors: 4

Rob Mariano (Survivor): Traitor

It felt like roundtable after roundtable, the faithfuls would let him play into his hand, but thank goodness the majority finally caught on. Boston Rob was taken down after, oddly enough, both Tom Sandoval brought it up and Brittney fought back when she was getting framed by him. He played a really impressive game (which some would dispute) despite how messy things are getting between the traitors, but I know I’m really excited to see how the game goes without him at the wheel. Can Danielle and Carolyn accomplish a successful alliance and win? Or will the faithfuls get them all out?

Wes Bergmann (The Real World: Austin): Faithful

Wes had the right idea about Rob being the traitor last week, but it cost him banishment. When Rob turned the tables on him, he said the wrong thing, and to banishment he went! It definitely didn’t help his case that he seemed to threaten those who were suspecting him, and his overconfidence and aggression did not make people want to rush to his side… and honestly, that’s fair.

Nikki Garcia (Retired WWE): Faithful

Oof, this was an emotional one. Nikki Garcia was a favorite player of mine, but considering she comes from the WWE, she was a bit of a black sheep in a room full of reality TV stars. After Chrisnell was convinced Nikki’s energy shifted in their recent car ride, it really helped the rest of the faithfuls get on board with voting her off. But, of course, as we all know, she’s a faithful.

Bob The Drag Queen (RuPaul's Drag Race) : Traitor

Bob went big, and Bob went home! The drag queen seriously gave viewers an absolute show with his run as a traitor, and while I'm sad to see him go in episode 4, he was just caught by too many people, and it felt like his time. We definitely won’t be forgetting anytime soon how one of his own made it his mission to take him down, with Boston Rob leading the charge. Even so, it's clear the castle and all of us viewers will miss him, even though he was out for everyone's money.

Tony Vlachos (Survivor) : Faithful

Tony Vlachos was banished in episode 3 of The Traitors, seemingly because players really didn't trust him or like him from the beginning. It's a shame, but he really wasn't doing much to get the other players to build positive connections with him.

Wells Adams (The Bachelorette) : Faithful

Poor Wells. The roundtable took him down at the first roundtable because people felt he was acting weird. However, he was just being himself. It reminds me of when everyone voted out Geraldine in Season 1 early in the game because of her mannerisms.

The Murdered

The murders this season have been so brutal. I'm not ready for more of the cast to go, but the traitors definitely doing their job of are causing chaos with every pick. Here's who have fallen victim to the traitors so far.

Derrick Levasseur (Big Brother): Faithful

Another awesome player was totally knocked out by the traitors at the top of episode 7. Derrick was really on to Rob, and he got punished for it. However, he didn’t go without helping the same quite a bit. His suspicions about Rob ended up permeating into the next roundtable, and the faithfuls got their second traitor out, in part thanks to him.

Bob Harper (The Biggest Loser): Faithful

This was such a sad murder. Bob Harper was another great player who was most importantly starting to really catch on to Boston Rob being a traitor. It does feel a bit on the nose that the traitors would kill him off, since it exposes Rob further, but I guess the Survivor is just that confident. Bob will be missed.

Robyn Dixon (The Real Housewives Of Potomac): Faithful

The Traitors are really taking out all the Housewives. Now all that’s left is Dolores of The Real Housewives of New Jersey. Robyn was not only sweet, she was a rather smart player. And now the faithfuls will have to play without her.

Jeremy Collins (Survivor) : Faithful

This was such a loss! Jeremy had proved to be an asset to the faithfuls considering he already had Danielle on his list, but alas, he was buried by the traitors in episode 4. Even Carolyn, a traitor, cried after his murder.

Chanel Ayan (The Real Housewives Of Dubai) : Faithful

Another housewife murdered?!? The Traitors made the decision to off another contestant originally from the Bravo franchise in episode 3, and truly I was so bummed. The Somali model was a ton of fun to have in the castle, between her incredible outfits and a tad clueless commentary. I would have loved to see her reactions and how she played further into the game, but the traitors thought the murder would incite more chaos amongst the group.

Dorinda Medley (The Real Housewives Of New York City) : Faithful

It's never fun to be the first to go, but that was indeed the fate that befell Dorinda Medley in episode 2. (And, she’s said she’ll take it as a compliment.) After showing off her strong personality and disdain for being left on a raft during a mission, she was murdered by the traitors in an effort to frame Lord Ivar Mountbatten.

Who Will Be Eliminated Next?

So, who will leave the game next? I certainly have my suspicions following the latest episode.

Danielle Reyes (Big Brother) : Traitor

Danielle may have the upper hand as a traitor, but she’s quietly been growing on people’s suspect list over the past few weeks, and if she slips up, I think she could be up for banishment soon as well. If she does go, it would be wild for just Carolyn to be left.

Chrishell Stause (Selling Sunset): Faithful

When episode 7 ended, five players were possibly on the chopping block to be murdered and Chishell is one of them. I think the Selling Sunset star is definitely close to leaving the show, either through being murdered or through banishment. Remember, she led the charge to get Nikki out a few episodes back, and has been leading the faithfuls astray a few times, even though she truly is just perhaps not the best player. This is more of a guess and feeling, but it will be sad to see her go if she does.

Dylan Efron (Down To Earth) : Faithful

Another major player who could be murdered at the top of the episode is Dylan Efron. While it’s definitely possible he’ll get murdered, I think it’s also possible he could be the next target at the roundtable since he was such an ally with Rob. He’s also one of the players who is really trying to find the traitors, and I think that could rub them the wrong way and lead him to be a target.

Ciara Miller (Summer House) : Faithful

Ciara was coupled up with Boston Rob during the last challenge and was one of the players to defend him, so I think it’s possible she could be up for banishment if the right seeds are planted.

In just a few years The Traitors has become wildly popular, considered one of the best reality shows out there. While some folks are still figuring out how to watch The Traitors, the third season has arrived with a whopping three new episodes for those with a Peacock subscription. As always, the first episode began with three contestants becoming the titular murderous Traitors, and the internet can’t get over who Alan Cumming chose.

Emmy winner Alan Cumming returned to host yet another season of The Traitors, complete with camp, fashion, and his wild Moira Rose-inspired accent. The three members of The Traitors Season 3 cast who he chose for murder and deception are Survivor standout Carolyn Wiger, RuPaul's Drag Race winner Bob The Drag Queen, as well as Big Brother icon Danielle Reyes. The internet exploded as a result of these three choices, with Tweets comparing it to the original lineup from other seasons. As one fan posted:

Honestly, it is a strong group. And on top of having three strategic minds in the turret for The Traitors Season 3, all three of Cumming's picks are sounbite machines who are making the show more entertaining.

The pairing of these three very different players is a thrilling one, with another tweet comparing the reality show to the popular video game series Super Smash Brothers. Check it out:

After Peppermint was voted off first last season, Drag Race fans and LGBTQ+ viewers in general are thrilled that Bob will have more power in Season 3. There's also two female powerhouses are joining him in the turret in Carolyn and Danielle, with a funny tweet poking fun at queer fans through a classic Erika Jayne meme.

Of course, no one is expecting this trio to survive until the end. And things are made more complicated when it was revealed that Boston Rob was returning to the game as a Traitor. There's four of them now, and someone's going to end up being eliminated. One tweet pointed to the fact that Carolyn might be the last one standing, it reads:

While we don't know what's going to happen throughout Season 3 of The Traitors, the original three lineup for the murderous cloaked villains is definitely thrilling, and one that's sure to be wildly entertaining. Another tweet pointed this out:

Everyone's favorite reality TV crossover competition is officially back, with Peacock treating fans to three episodes on premiere day. Tension is already growing, especially with three more characters added to the game. We'll just have to wait and see what goes down, and which Traitor ends up being eliminated first.

The Traitors Season 3 is here, and as if I couldn’t wait already for the social deception reality series to spice up the 2025 TV schedule, the fabulous Alan Cumming just offered up another reason to get excited to tune into the series again. The host explained how he decided upon this season’s traitors at the roundtable, and it’s hilariously diabolical.

As I get ready to stream The Traitors premiere, I’m obsessed with what Alan Cumming had to say about the moment the cast was blindfolded for this season’s traitors to be chosen. As the Scottish actor revealed about the process:

When speaking to Entertainment Weekly about choosing the traitors, Cumming said that the cast actually sits there for just under an hour while he makes tons of slow laps around the roundtable and attempts to throw off each of them as they listen in for clues about who he taps on the shoulder. When asked whether he accounts for sounds of brushes of fabric when walking around, he said this as well:

Alan Cumming is coming off the exciting high of the series winning two Emmys for Outstanding Reality Competition Program and Outstanding Host, along with a double season renewal. I love that Cumming takes his sweet time to pick a traitor – it must add some tension to the scene we can feel. He also apparently caught on to how much the contestants are paying attention to sounds and such during the choosing process and really playing into it.

While hinting at the new season, he shared his “favorite bit” about picking the traitors this time around was one of the contestants started acting “like a weird owl” and was “staring at everybody” because the person was just so hungry for information. I can't wait to see who he's talking about.

The third season of The Traitors has a ton of celebrity contestants that we're excited about, like Bob the Drag Queen from RuPaul’s Drag Race, Big Brother’s Danielle Reyes, Zac Efron’s brother Dylan from Down To Earth and retired WWE wrestler Nikki Garcia. The first three episodes of The Traitors are now available to stream with a Peacock subscription, with new episodes every Thursday.

In just a few short years, The Traitors has become insanely popular, and is arguably one of the best reality shows on the air right now. The campy competition series (which is streaming with a Peacock subscription) is hosted by the delightful Alan Cumming, who earned an Emmy nomination for his campy work. And the actor/host recently explained why he's pushed for more LGBTQ+ representation on the beloved competition series.

Alan Cumming's accent and dramatic line readings helped make The Traitors so popular, and elevate the sneaky game of murder and deception. The cast list for The Traitors Season 3 has recently been confirmed, including more reality TV icons. During a recent conversation with IndieWire, the Goldeneye actor spoke about the importance of having queer contestants, offering:

Points were made. While The Traitors isn't trying to change the world, Alan Cumming understands the importance and power of onscreen representation. And with the competition series being so wildly popular, having LGBTQ+ contestants offers the chance for more folks to see and understand the community, especially in areas where there might be less openly queer people living their lives.

While there have been movies and shows with great LGTBQ+ representation, the entertainment industry as a whole still has a way to go. As a queer man himself, Cumming is using his platform and position on The Traitors to help make positive change in this regard.

In his comments, Cumming specifically referenced how the vulnerable transgender community is as a whole. I personally think we saw this during Season 2 of The Traitors, where trans contestant (and RuPaul's Drag Race alum) Peppermint was the first person voted out, seemingly for no real reason. Peppermint has spoken about how this felt from inside the game, and made peace with Trishelle during the reunion special.

For the upcoming third season of The Traitors, another Drag Race favorite will be in Cumming's Castle: Season 8 winner Bob The Drag Queen. It should be interesting to see how Bob performs on the show, and whether or not they're able to get deeper into the game than Peppermint.

It's currently unclear when The Traitors Season 3 will premiere on Peacock, but the previous two installments both debuted in January. For now, check the TV premiere list to plan your next binge watch.

While the rumored cast for The Traitors Season 3 recently came out, that didn’t stop Peacock from cranking out an even bigger announcement. The streamer has revealed that the reality competition has been renewed for two additional seasons, which comes on the heels of it getting multiple nominations for the 76th Emmys. Now host Alan Cumming has reacted to the news, and you really have to read it in his dramatic show voice to feel the full effect.

Cumming has served as host of The Traitors since its launch in early 2023, and he will continue to host through Season 5. The actor also received an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Host for a Reality Competition, so there's a lot to celebrate right now. He took to his Instagram Stories to share the exciting renewal news, and you can just hear that accent and dramatic show voice while reading the caption:

The Traitors has become quite the hit for those with a Peacock subscription, so the big renewal is not surprising. It’s also nice to know Cumming will continue to bring the dramatics for the foreseeable future. Even though his caption didn't say much, you can still hear it in his dramatic show voice and his enthusiasm is apparent, making the announcement all the better.

As of now, nothing else has been revealed about Seasons 4 and 5, but fans will be able to hear that dramatic show voice beforehand. At the moment, The Traitors Season 3 has yet to premiere, and it won’t be airing on the 2024 TV schedule. A premiere date hasn't been set yet, but it's expected to return in early 2025, meaning that a date should hopefully be revealed soon. Overall, the good news will just keep coming for The Traitors, and it’s going to be exciting to see what will happen in these upcoming seasons.

Along with Cumming commenting on the double-season renewal, he's also spoken about the show featuring more LGBTQ+ representation. He opened up about wanting more queer representation in The Traitors Season 3, and it seems likely that that will happen in future seasons. He explained that he's willing to tell producers "We need to make sure there's more queer and trans people on the show," and that visibility of the LGBTQ+ community is vital.

It’s too early to predict who will be competing in the new episodes, even though there are rumblings about the upcoming season's cast, but it’s never too early to theorize.

So, even though Seasons 4 and 5 won't be happening for a while, Season 3 will be here before you know it. In addition, Alan Cumming’s dramatic show voice will also be gracing our screens again in the near future. There is no end in sight for The Traitors, which is great news, and we can't wait for all of it.

It's important that the casts of shows reflect the diverse audience watching them. That's why representation on TV is so important. Alan Cumming, the host of The Traitors, recently spoke about his desire for more LGBTQ+ representation in The Traitors third season, as the first two didn't have enough in his (and certain others') eyes.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Cumming discussed what he’d like the third season’s cast to look like, saying:

Season 2 of the series did feature some trans representation with RuPaul’s Drag Race star Peppermint, but sadly, she was the second to leave the castle after The Real World’s Trishelle Cannatella became suspicious of her. On top of that, she was a faithful, so her banishment didn't benefit the faithful's cause.

Cumming continued, questioning why this isn't already a TV norm at this point:

It appears that Cumming's sentiments about more representation were echoed by producers as the Season 3 cast list includes more LGBTQ+ cast members than the previous years. On this list are plently of reality TV stars we're excited about, such as Bob the Drag Queen from RuPaul's Drag Race, Chrishell Stause from Selling Sunset, Bob Harper from The Biggest Loser, Carolyn Wiger from Survivor, Lord Ivar Mountbatten, a relative of the British royal family, and Gabby Winey from The Bachelorette.

Personally, I love the diversity of the new Traitors cast. It will be fun to see how all of these different personalities come together and work as a team to either banish the traitors or, in the case of the traitors themselves, murder all of the faithfuls. In previous seasons, alliances would form among the contestants who had similar backgrounds. For example, last season, the Bravo stars worked together, and the people from competition-based reality shows teamed up to get the rest out.

I hope the lines can blur more this season because it is fun to watch different people from varying shows bond and work together. I think that would make for a more interesting dynamic, and you can definitely tell that real friendships are formed during this show. However, at the end of the day, it doesn't matter too much who you group up with because you could be working with a traitor. That's what makes the show so exciting to watch.

Also, if you haven't checked out the other international versions of The Traitors, they're definitely worth the watch. The Traitors UK, The Traitors Australia, and The Traitors New Zealand can also be streamed on Peacock. The shows have different hosts, but I've found they're just as entertaining, and I become invested in the drama the same way.

The first two seasons of the series can be streamed with a Peacock subscription. Season 3 of the series will most likely hit Peacock in 2025. In the meantime, check out our 2024 TV schedule to find something else great to watch!

Between host Alan Cumming's hilarious accent and a cast full of reality TV royalty, the show has gotten super popular for those with a Peacock subscription. The rumored cast for Traitors Season 3 dropped, and many fans are not happy. 

After the first season included regular folks, The Traitors' Season 2 cast was stacked with reality royalty from shows like Survivor, Big Brother, The Challenge, and The Real Housewives. A rumored cast list for the new season is circulating on Twitter, and fans of those shows aren't happy by the names listed. Folks are sounding off online, with one such fan tweeting: 

This sentiment seems to be related to which reality TV royalty will reportedly be duking it out at the castle in Scotland. It is rumored that Survivor's Carolyn Wiger and two-time winner Tony Vlachos will be among the cast, although some fans took this as a letdown after seeing Parvati and Sandra reunite during Season 2. And there are also plenty of fans mad to see Vanderpump Rules villain Tom Sandoval on the list as well. Another tweet about the rumors cast used a clip from Big Brother to share their disappointment, check it out below: 

There is one fandom that I think will be pleased with the rumored cast for The Traitors Season 3. Namely those of us who watch The Real Housewives, as there are a number of truly iconic names on the list. That includes RHONY's Dorinda Medley and RHONJ fan favorite Dolores Catania. I even included the latter on my list of Real Housewives who need to join The Traitors. Two other Housewives that are rumored to possible appear include recently fired RHOP OG Robyn Dixon and Salt Lake City standout Mary M. Cosby. We'll just have to wait and see if they all actually end up on the cast.

The cast list isn't official, but there are definitely some surprising choices on it. And Traitors fans seem to be disappointed with the caliber of contestants after the all-star group that competed in Season 2. Another tweet response reads: 

It's still unclear if this cast is legit or not, so we'll have to wait for official news from Peacock. But even if there aren't as many fan favorite names as last season, that doesn't mean that the gameplay won't be dynamic for The Traitors Season 3. Because as outstanding as the ensemble was for last season, Dan blew up both Parvati and Phaedra's game on his way out, and the last few episodes were far less thrilling than the first half. 

Hopefully some concrete information will come sooner rather than later. For now rumors will continue swirling, which should presumably help buoy fan excitement until its release.

The Good Wife was a popular courtroom drama on CBS that ran from 2009 to 2016. The show starred Julianna Margulies as the main character. Juliana played Alicia Florrick, the wife of a disgraced former state's attorney trying to piece her life back together after the fallout from her husband's affair and suspected corruption. Fans of the show watched as Alicia navigated the challenges of resuscitating her legal career and the pressure of supporting her husband after his very public fall from grace.

Since The Good Wife finale in 2016, many of the cast members have stayed busy with new and interesting roles, and gone on to achieve continued success in their careers. 

Julianna Margulies (Alicia Florrick)

We'll start off with the star of the show herself, Julianna Margulies -- She has made numerous TV appearances since The Good Wife ended its run. She appeared as Kitty Montgomery in AMC's Dietland and as Catherine Brant in the Showtime series Billions. In 2019, she appeared as Dr. Nancy Jaax in the National Geographic series The Hot Zone. Most recently, she has  appeared as Laura Peterson in the Apple TV+ series, The Morning Show, alongside Reese Witherspoon and Jennifer Anniston. 

Christine Baranski (Diane Lockhart)

Christine Baranski played Diane Lockhart, the formidable senior attorney at Lockhart Gardner, the law firm that offered Alicia Florrick a position after her fifteen year absence from practicing law. Being part mentor and part adversary, Diane was a notable character on The Good Wife and had a big influence over Alicia and the events of the series. 

Christine Baranski was so memorable as Diane, she went on to star in her own spinoff to the series, The Good Fight, which premiered in 2017 and ran for six seasons. Fans of Christine can currently watch her in the cast of The Gilded Age on HBO Max. 

Josh Charles (Will Gardner)

Josh Charles played the memorable Will Gardner, another named partner at the firm of Lockhart Gardner. Will and Alicia's relationship went through ups and downs throughout the show, with phases of both rekindled romance and alienation. The chemistry between Will and Alicia was memorable, but fans may have stronger memories of his abrupt departure from the show. 

Since leaving The Good Wife, Josh Charles has gone on to make multiple television appearances including in HBO's miniseries We Own This City, which aired in 2022. He has also appeared in The Power on Amazon Prime which premiered in 2023. 

Archie Panjabi (Kalinda Sharma)

Archie Panjabi played Kalinda Sharma, the enigmatic investigator at Lockhart Gardner. There were few subjects who could outsmart Kalinda when she set her mind to discovering the truth of the case. Panjabi left The Good Wife in 2015 amid rumors of conflict on the set. Despite the murky circumstances of her departure, Panjabi left her mark on the series with Kalinda being one of the most interesting and impactful characters throughout the course of the show. 

Fans of Archie Panjabi can watch her performances in multiple TV series, including the Peacock original Departure, which aired from 2019 to 2022. She currently appears in the Apple TV+ series, Hijack, which premiered in 2023. 

Matt Czuchry (Cary Agos)

Matt Czuchry played Cary Agos in The Good Wife. As Alicia's Florricks rival in the early seasons of the show, Cary was motivated to compete with Alicia for the one available permanent position at the firm. Over time, Cary and Alicia's relationship evolved with the two trusting and relying on one another. In the later seasons, Alicia and Cary became partners and opened their own firm. Since the show ended, Matt Czuchry has appeared as Dr. Conrad Hawkins on Fox's medical drama The Resident, which ran for six seasons and ended in 2023. Czuchry has also appeared as Dexter Harding Jr. in the newest season of American Horror Story. 

Chris Noth (Peter Florrick)

Chris Noth played the husband of the titular character on The Good Wife. It was Peter's dubious actions that set the events of the show in motion and required his wife to be as good as she was. 

After the end of The Good Wife, Chris Noth returned to playing another of his iconic roles, Mr. Big. For six seasons he played the handsome yet unattainable love interest of Carrie Bradshaw on Sex and the City. Noth resumed the role of Mr. Big as Carrie's husband in the Sex and the City spinoff And Just Like That. Although his run on the spinoff was brief, it brought back a character that largely defined his career. Noth also appeared in the CBS series The Equalizer, playing William Bishop, the mentor to the show's star, Queen Latifah. 

Carrie Preston (Elsbeth Tascioni)

Carrie Preston brought welcome comic relief to tense moments in The Good Wife with her role as the unconventional yet brilliant Elsbeth Tascioni. Elsbeth had a style all her own, but she could be counted on to come through for her clients in some of the most challenging cases featured on the show. 

Preston returned to play the character again on The Good Fight alongside Christine Baranski, and she is now featured in the title role of the new CBS drama series Elsbeth, which premiered in February 2024. 

Alan Cumming (Eli Gold)

Alan Cumming managed to be both ruthless and lovable in his role as the shrewd campaign manager, Eli Gold, on The Good Wife. Eli took on the insurmountable task of restoring Peter Florrick's reputation and rescuing his political career after his infamous press conference that ended his time as state's attorney and resulted in criminal charges. 

Fans of Alan Cumming can see him in the many prominent roles he has played throughout his career, including as Nightcrawler in X-men. Since The Good Wife ended, he has continued the role of Eli Gold in two episodes of The Good Fight. He has also appeared in the Apple Plus series Schmigadoon alongside Keegan Michael-Key and Cecily Strong. In January 2023, Cumming began hosting The Traitors US on Peacock, a reality show featuring a murder mystery game in which the contestants compete to win a $250,000 prize. 

Jeffrey Dean Morgan (Jason Crouse)

Jeffrey Dean Morgan played private investigator Jason Crouse in the final season of The Good Wife. As an investigator, Jason assists Alicia with the challenges that come along with managing her own firm and navigating the ongoing battles with Peter Florrick's career and corruption charges. 

Morgan has maintained a flourishing career since his time on The Good Wife. He has appeared in multiple feature films including Walkaway Joe and The Unholy. However, his most notable role in recent memory is as Negan in The Walking Dead. Jeffrey Dean Morgan's performance as Negan is both unsettling and captivating, resulting in his continued appearance in The Walking Dead: Dead City. 

All of these talented cast members contributed to the show's seven successful seasons, and fans have plenty of options to view their favorite stars in current roles. The Good Wife can be found streaming on Paramount Plus for those of us who want to go back and revisit the drama of Lockhart Gardner. 

Did you watch the finale of Traitors Season 2? I didn’t think it was possible, but I’m somehow even more invested in this game than I was before. It’s such a great mix of strategy, betrayal and interpersonal drama, and while I initially had some issues with how over the top Alan Cumming went, I now live for his theatricality and know in my heart I was wrong. I can’t wait for Season 3, as Peacock has already given it a renewal, and I’m already fantasy casting who I’d like to see at the roundtable next year.

But when the show does return, it needs to come back with a rule change because the game as we watch it is broken. There is a fundamental flaw people like Sandra Diaz-Twine have uncovered, and if the show doesn’t change the rules now, people will start really exploiting it.

Right now, as the game is currently configured, finding Traitors and voting them out prior to the last few episodes is a bad thing for the Faithfuls. Think about it this way. Let’s say you spend three episodes gathering evidence and thinking someone might be a Traitor. Turns out you’re right! You banish them from the castle. Well, the remaining Traitor(s) then get to immediately recruit someone else. Their numbers don’t change, and this person they just recruited could literally be anyone. So, in essence, you’ve gone from being pretty sure you know who one of the Traitors is to having literally no idea. Despite doing what you’re supposed to (find a Traitor), you’ve put the Faithful in a worse position (starting over with zero evidence).

The good news is this is easily fixable in one of two ways. Option 1 is the Traitors can start with a fixed number and not recruit when they lose one of their members. That way getting a Traitor out really does put you closer to victory. It works from a tactical standpoint, but since recruitments are a fun part of the game and this runs the risk of a season ending after like 5 or 6 episodes if the Traitors are particularly obvious, I don’t like that. 

Instead, I like Option 2. There should be a separate prize pool the show pays out every time a Traitor is voted out that goes to everyone who casts a vote against that Traitor. For the sake of argument, let’s say this number is $50,000. If during the third episode, ten people work together to vote out a Traitor, they each get $5,000 a piece. Anyone who voted for someone else gets nothing. That creates an incentive for the Faithful to actually find Traitors, and as you go later in the game and it takes less votes to get someone out, these $50,000 bounties would become extremely lucrative. Imagine if you got out a Traitor only using the votes of 3 people. 

It also creates another fun incentive for Traitors to potentially turn on each other. Right now if one of the villains is going down, the others need to decide whether to defend them or vote against them to try and deflect suspicion. I love the idea of having some money thrown into the equation to make that more morally complicated. Given what a runaway success story the show has been for Peacock, The Traitors could definitely afford to sprinkle in the extra $150,000 or $200,000 this would cost in the budget.

The Traitors has the potential to be an all-time reality competition show. It has so much intrigue and is only getting better. It’s really fun to see legendary reality stars spend time in the castle and try to win an entirely separate game. The producers need to recognize there’s an issue that needs to be fixed here, though. If they don’t, I guarantee on a future season Faithfuls will start to conspire with each other not to eliminate Traitors until the very end, and that will undermine the point of the game. A bounty for eliminated Traitors would fix that.  

Thanks to its motley crew cast that includes fan favorites from reality franchises like Survivor, Big Brother, Love Island and The Real Housewives (Phaedra forever!), Peacock's reality competition The Traitors has quickly become one of the most entertaining reality shows on TV. The series, which sees its celebrity cast members "murdering" each other off in a Mafia-like game for a hefty cash prize, is currently in its second season, which you can catch up on with a Peacock subscription, and now Alan Cumming has revealed his requests for Season 3, and they include Beyoncé.

Populating the series' signature Scottish castle with the right blend of personalities is an art, as The Traitors' host-producer Alan Cumming and other members of the production team revealed during a panel at the Television Critics Association winter press tour on Wednesday, February 14. Per Deadline, executive producer Stephen Lambert said of casting the series: 

The current edition of the show had several cast connections going into the premiere episode, which aired on Friday, January 12. 

There are The Challenge veterans Chris "C.T." Tamburello and Trishelle Cannatella, whose decades-long friendship hit a painful bump when C.T. opted not to "save" Trishelle from banishment during a recent episode. 

There's also The Real Housewives of Atlanta co-stars Phaedra Parks and Shereé Whitfield. The former of whom was tearful in reminiscing on camera about how far the castmates have come, despite the fact that Parks is one of the titular, duplicitous traitors in the house, alongside frenemy Parvati Shallow and the now-ousted Dan Gheesling. (BTW, there are plenty more Real Housewives stars we want to see in The Traitors mix.) 

However, not every member of The Traitors Season 2 cast has reality TV roots: this season sees former British politician John Bercow and professional boxer Deontay Wilder join in the dramatic gameplay. And when it comes to which other notable people producers would like to see in future editions of the show, Alan Cumming jokingly added: 

Given how busy Queen Bey is these days — ditto Lambert's addition of "Taylor Swift!"— that one might be hard to pull off, but Cumming's other casting suggestion certainly seems doable for next season:

Alongside the fabulous (and fabulously accented) Cumming, who identifies as bisexual, there were only a few LGBTQ+ personalities featured this season. This includes transgender RuPaul's Drag Race star Peppermint (and yes, we're also very here for even more of Ru's girls making it onto The Traitors) and the aforementioned Survivor alum Parvati Shallow, who recently went public with her relationship with comedian Mae Martin, per People. 

There's clearly room for more queer representation on the reality show and now that the American edition has officially been picked up for a third season, we'll hopefully see more of it soon. And we wouldn't say no to Beyoncé joining the Season 3 cast either!

Doctor Who is a British institution, and while it’s made household names of the actors who take on the mantle of The Doctor, it’s also cast many stars in guest roles. So, with that in mind, we took a journey through the iconic modern era run of the beloved BBC show, and found 32 famous actors who played a minor role in this time lord’s journey. 

Jonathan Bailey

While we know and love Jonathan Bailey as Anthony Bridgerton on one of Netflix’s best series, Bridgerton, and as Fiyero in the Wicked cast, you might not be aware that he was in Season 8 of Doctor Who in the episode “Time Heist.” He starred alongside Peter Capaldi’s Twelfth Doctor, playing the hacker Psi. 

Brett Goldstein

Brett Goldstein appeared in the Season 11 episode “The Tsuranga Conundrum '' alongside Jodie Whittaker’s Thirteenth Doctor. During the episode that saw The Doctor and co. stuck on a spaceship while an enemy tries to destroy it, and the Emmy-winning actor played the head nurse Astos. Then, two years later, Goldstein became a household name when he joined the Ted Lasso cast as the beloved grouchy player-turned-coach Roy Kent. 

Carey Mulligan

Before Carey Mulligan starred in movies like Drive, Promising Young Woman and Maestro, she played the young Sally Sparrow in the Season 3 episode “Blink.” Not only is this episode one with some of Doctor Who’s best quotes, but it’s also one of the most iconic stories in the show’s history as David Tennant’s Tenth Doctor took on the Weeping Angels. 

Olivia Colman 

In one of Doctor Who’s best episodes, and Matt Smith’s first as the Eleventh iteration of the time lord, Olivia Colman played “Mother,” a woman who is taken over by Patient Zero in “The Eleventh Hour.” After that, the actress, of course, went on to win an Oscar for The Favourite, and she starred in various other successful projects including the film The Lost Daughter, and the series Broadchurch and The Crown. 

James Corden

Long before James Corden was hosting The Late Late Show, he guest starred in two of Matt Smith’s episodes as his pal and flatmate Craig, most notably in the Season 5 episode “The Lodger.” 

Andrew Garfield

He may be best known as The Amazing Spider-Man and for films like The Social Network and Tick, Tick…Boom! but before all that, Andrew Garfield starred alongside David Tennant in two Doctor Who episodes, “Daleks in Manhattan” and “Evolution of the Daleks.” He played Frank, a boy who gets the Doctor to help get rid of the Daleks. 

Bill Nighy 

In one of the most moving episodes of Doctor Who, “Vincent and The Doctor,” Bill Nighy plays Dr. Black, who works at the museum where Vincent Van Gogh’s self-portrait is held. Before starring in the emotional Matt Smith-led episode all about the aforementioned painter, Nighy was best known for movies like Love, Actually and Pirates of the Caribbean. Since then, he’s been in films including About Time, Emma. and Living, which he got an Oscar nomination for. 

Daniel Kaluuya

You know Daniel Kaluuya? That’s right, the star of Jordan Peele’s movies Get Out and Nope and the man who won an Oscar for Judas and The Black Messiah. Well, before all of that, he played Barclay in Season 4 of Doctor Who in the episode “Planet of the Dead,” where he helped the Tenth Doctor fix an engine after a double-decker bus they were on got stuck in a very sandy place.  

Felicity Jones

Before she entered a galaxy far, far away in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story or received her Oscar nomination for The Theory of Everything, Felicity Jones guest starred on Doctor Who. In 2008, she played Robina Redmond opposite the Tenth Doctor in the episode “The Unicorn and the Wasp,” which was a fun take on Agatha Christie and her mysteries. 

Ian McKellen

While you don’t see Sir Ian McKellen in Doctor Who, his voice is undeniable, as he was the man behind The Great Intelligence in Matt Smith’s 2012 Christmas special  “The Snowmen.” This special appearance was just another feather in this iconic British actor’s cap in the world of genre as he’s best known for playing Gandalf in the Lord of the Rings films as well as Magneto in the X-Men movies. 

Maisie Williams

Obviously, we know Maisie Williams as Arya Stark, an integral character in the Game of Thrones cast. However, she also starred in another series that’s considered a British institution when she appeared in four of Peter Capaldi’s Season 9 Doctor Who episodes – “The Girl Who Died,” “The Woman Who Lived,” “Face the Raven'' and “Hell Bent” – as Ashildr (AKA Me) the immortal Viking. 

Michael Gambon 

In Doctor Who’s 2010 Christmas special, “A Christmas Carol,” the Eleventh Doctor finds himself with a very Scrooge-like character named Kazran Sardick, played by the late Michael Gambon. The actor also played the antagonist’s father Elliot Sardick. Of course, before this, he also starred in another tentpole fantasy franchise by playing Albus Dumbledore in six of the eight Harry Potter movies. 

John Hurt 

In the 50th Anniversary of Doctor Who, John Hurt joined Matt Smith and David Tennant as a regeneration of the time lord named the War Doctor, who lived between the eighth and ninth versions of The Doctor. He was, of course, played by the late great John Hurt, who was known for iconic films like Alien and The Elephant Man. He was a legendary British actor, and he played a pivotal role in the long-running BBC series.

Gemma Chan

From the beloved and star-studded rom-com Crazy Rich Asians to Marvel’s The Eternals, Gemma Chan’s star has grown immensely over the last few years. However, before that, she played geologist Mia Bennett in the 2009 episode “The Waters of Mars” alongside David Tennant’s Doctor. 

Michael Sheen

David Tennant plays the demon to Michael Sheen’s angel in Good Omens, but before they shared the screen together, the Aziraphale actor voiced a House on the show that made his co-star a household name. During Matt Smith’s run as The Doctor during the episode “The Doctor’s Wife,” the actor known for Frost/Nixon and Masters of Sex voiced the evil entity that lived just outside the universe. 

Richard E. Grant

With over 140 credits to his name, including Gosford Park and Hudson Hawk, Richard E. Grant is a legendary British actor. In Doctor Who he played an equally iconic role as the antagonist Dr. Simeon in the Eleventh Doctor-led Christmas special “The Snowmen.” After that, the actor who played a variant of Loki in Marvel’s most timey-wimey show, returned to Dr. Simeon for the Season 7 episode “The Name of the Doctor.” 

Jonathan Groff

As one of the first big actors to guest star in Ncuti Gatwa’s run as the Fifteenth Doctor, Jonathan Groff joined the cast for a Regency-era episode. Before making a brief appearance on Doctor Who, Groff made a name for himself on Broadway in shows including Merrily We Roll Along and Hamilton. He also voiced Kristoff in both Frozen films, and starred in David Fincher’s series Mindhunter. Talk about range. 

Stephen Fry

During the Thirteenth Doctor’s run, Stephen Fry played a role in the Season 12 episode “Spyfall" as C, the head of MI6. An iconic character actor, Fry has over 190 credits to his name, and he is best known for films like Wilde and V for Vendetta. 

Simon Pegg

Long before he was choosing to accept missions with Tom Cruise in the Mission: Impossible movies and leading Edgar Wright’s Three Flavours Cornetto trilogy – which is Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz and The World’s End – Simon Pegg guest starred on Doctor Who. He played The Editor in Season 1 of the modern era, and went up against Christopher Eccleston’s Ninth generation of the time lord. 

Kylie Minogue

Yes, you read that right, Australian pop icon Kylie Minogue, singer of “Can’t Get You Out of My Head” and “Chiggy Wiggy,” did star in a 2007 episode of Doctor Who titled “Voyage of the Damned.” During Season 4, she was featured alongside Tennant’s Doctor as Astrid, an alien waitress. 

Helen McCrory

Helen McCrory played Rosanna in the 2010 Doctor Who episode “The Vampires of Venice.” The Peaky Blinders star joined Matt Smith’s Doctor as the leader of the Saturnyns. Along with the two iconic BBC shows, the actress also played Narcissa Malfoy in the Harry Potter movies and starred in The Count of Monte Cristo. 

Toby Jones

In the episode “Amy’s Choice,” Toby Jones played the Dream Lord. This spooky villain that comes from the darker side of The Eleventh Doctor is another fun character in Jones’ cap, as he also voiced Dobby in the Harry Potter films and played Dr. Zola in the Captain America movies as well as Claudius Templesmith in The Hunger Games. 

Neil Patrick Harris

Joining the episode of the three-part 60th Anniversary special, Neil Patrick Harris played the Toymaker and witnessed the historic bi-generation. The How I Met Your Mother alum faced off against David Tennant’s Fourteenth Doctor as well as Ncuti Gatwa’s Fifteenth Doctor. 

Timothy Dalton

Yep, you read that right, James Bond was in Doctor Who too. Timothy Dalton – who played 007 in License to Kill and The Living Daylights – guest starred in the Tenth Doctor’s 2009 episodes “End of Time” parts one and two where he played The Narrator and Lord President Rassilon, the founder and first leader of The Doctor’s home planet, Gallifrey. 

Brian Cox

In “End of Time,” Brian Cox wasn’t seen on screen with David Tennant, however, you can hear him, because he voiced Elder Ood, who is of an alien race the Doctor works to protect. While you don’t see Cox physically in the episode, you can see him as the patriarch of the Succession cast, Logan Roy, and you can check out movies of his, including Troy and Manhunter. 

Letitia Wright

Letitia Wright’s future is as the Black Panther, but prior to playing Shuri in the MCU and starring in other fun projects, she appeared in the Season 9 episode “Face the Raven” with Peter Capaldi’s Doctor. In Doctor Who, she played Anahson, an orphan looking for her mother. 

Gugu Mbatha-Raw

While Gugu Mbatha-Raw is best known for travelling through time and space as Ravonna Renslayer in Loki, she also played Tish Jones in four episodes of Doctor Who’s fourth season alongside David Tennant. The actress who played Martha’s sister in these episodes then went on to star in many films, including Belle, and series like The Morning Show. 

Thomas Brodie-Sangster

You likely know Thomas Brodie-Sangster as the kid from Love, Actually or from his work in The Maze Runner movies and The Queen’s Gambit. However, he also starred in a pair of Doctor Who episodes in Season 3 alongside David Tennant as Tim Latimer, a schoolboy from 1913.  

Alan Cumming

The host of The Traitors and star of The Good Wife, Alan Cumming starred as King James I in the Season 11 episode “The Witchfinders.” In the episode featuring the Thirteenth Doctor, this star of stage and screen played the king of a nation that was in the midst of a witch trial when the time lord showed up. 

Iain Glen

Iain Glen played Octavian in the 2010 Doctor Who episodes titled “The Time of Angels” and “Flesh and Stone.” While the actor made a name for himself on Game of Thrones as Jorah, Daenerys’ protector, he was trying to protect his team and The Doctor from the Weeping Angels in this set of Matt Smith-led episodes. 

Anthony Head

Anthony Head played Rupert Giles in 123 episodes of Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Uther Pendragon in 43 episodes of Merlin. He also portrayed the evil headmaster Lassar in one episode of Doctor Who – “School Reunion” – back in its second season alongside David Tennant. 

Jacob Anderson 

You likely remember Jacob Anderson as Grey Worm from Game of Thrones or Louis de Pointe du Lac in the series Interview with a Vampire. In the midst of all that, he joined Season 13 of Doctor Who for a recurring role as Vinder, a pilot and guardian who watches from Observation Outpost Rose and worked with the Thirteenth Doctor across seven episodes. 

As you can see, the list of actors who have made minor appearances on Doctor Who is long and wickedly impressive. From legendary actors like Ian McKellen and Olivia Colman and modern TV staples like Jonathan Bailey and Brett Goldstein, it’s hard to believe that all these folks aided (or tried to stop) The Doctor on their wibbly-wobbly timey-wimey journey through time and space, but they all did!

The first few episodes of Season 2 of the US version of The Traitors officially hit Peacock this weekend, and it is an absolute delight to have the show back. I can’t wait to watch how it all plays out, both because I need to know what happens and because I need more of Alan Cummings’ utterly ridiculous Scottish accent. 

If you’ve never watched The Traitors before, Alan Cumming sounds like he went to an audition, played up his Scottish accent, got a note to go bigger, tried again, then got a note to go in a more aristocratic direction. I hated it with the fire of a thousand Kate Chastains when I first started watching, but around the midway point of the season, much to my surprise, I started to kind of enjoy it. By the end, I was hooked and now I see whatever it is he’s doing with his voice as an absolutely vital tone-setting part of the show. 

Cumming has been doing some press for season two recently, and he was, of course, asked about what he’s doing with the accent, and during a chat with BBC, he explained it in the best way possible.

Yup. That is exactly what it sounds like. There’s like a weird blend of authenticity but also horribly inauthentic theatricality about it. Thinking of it as if there’s a below average, overly serious, self-important actor involved makes it all make sense.

The Traitors started as a Dutch TV show and its potential was obvious almost immediately. Versions in the UK and Australia quickly followed, as well as the aforementioned American edition hosted by Alan Cumming that was stuffed with reality TV favorites during season one and now again for season two. There’s also a Canadian version of the show coming, which, like the American one, features reality stars. 

For those who haven’t watched, the show follows a group of players who are secretly sub-divided into two groups: faithfuls and traitors. Each night, the traitors meet to remove one of the faithfuls from the game. The next day, all of the players, after seeing who the traitors killed off, meet and pick one person they suspect is a traitor. That player is then removed from the game and reveals whether they were a faithful or a traitor. If the faithfuls find all the traitors before a set endpoint, they split a pool of money. If they do not, the remaining traitors get it. 

That might sound a bit complicated, but like Alan Cummings’ vocal stylings, it makes sense within the context of the show, which you can watch right now. 

Through over six decades of James Bond movies, there has been a wide assortment of notable actors that have played heroes, villains, and roles in-between in the long running saga. As there’s 25 movies to keep track of, you might still be surprised by who shows up in a 007 adventure upon rewatching the series. With that in mind, here’s a huge list of people you may have forgotten teamed up with Commander Bond on the big screen.

Jack Lord - Dr. No

Before playing the original Steve McGarrett in Hawaii Five-O, actor Jack Lord got to originate another pop culture landmark. As the first actor to play Felix Leiter in Sean Connery’s James Bond movies, Dr. No saw Lord helping foil SPECTRE before instructing Danno to book anyone in another tropical crime fighting epic.

Robert Shaw - From Russia With Love

A good number of moviegoers would remember Robert Shaw best as the iconic sailor Quint, one of Jaws’ intrepid shark hunters. Before he got to put his hunting skills to the test against a Great White, Shaw played Red Grant: a SPECTRE hitman sent to kill James Bond. Unfortunately for Grant, a good thrashing on the Orient Express prevented him from completing his mission; all thanks to a wine based faux pas.

Donald Pleasence - You Only Live Twice

Halloween’s Michael Myers employed a mask to instill his own brand of chilling villainy. But years prior to tangling with that evil himself, Donald Pleasence became the first actor to show off Blofeld’s heinous visage in You Only Live Twice. Admit it, you probably remember Mike Myers’ parody of this character from Austin Powers more than the OG; which is ok.

Charles Gray - You Only Live Twice

Speaking of actors that have played Ernst Stavro Blofeld, The Rocky Horror Picture Show vet Charles Gray is also in that boat himself. However, the James Bond role people may have forgotten he played was that of 007’s ally Henderson in You Only Live Twice. Kind of fitting, as his Blofeld would be Sean Connery’s second tangle with the iconic nemesis.

Telly Savalas - On Her Majesty’s Secret Service

What’s one more Blofeld for old times? As he’d go on to tear up World War II in Kelly’s Heroes, as well as fight crime with a lollipop addiction in Kojack, Telly Savalas got to be the big bad of James Bond in On Her Majesty’s Secret Service which is George Lazenby’s solo outing as 007. Savalas is arguably the best Blofeld of the bunch, exuding both charm and menace.

Joanna Lumley - On Her Majesty’s Secret Service

Joanna Lumley shot to stardom through roles in series like Sapphire and Steel and Absolutely Fabulous, as well as another British spy staple The Avengers. Much like her fellow alums Honor Blackman and Diana Rigg, Lumley found herself cast early on in the 007 legacy, as one of Blofeld’s “Angels of Death” in On Her Majesty’s Secret Service.

Yaphet Kotto - Live And Let Die

Yaphet Kotto made a name for himself throughout all sorts of genres, thanks to roles in Alien, The Running Man, and NBC’s Homicide: Life on the Streets. And among all of those valued credits was the dual role of Dr. Kananga / Mr. Big in the debut of Roger Moore’s James Bond, Live and Let Die. Both sides of this coin fit the veteran performer to a tee, making for one of the most intriguing Bond villains of all time.

Charles Dance - For Your Eyes Only

Believe it or not, Tywin Lannister once tried to kill James Bond on a ski slope! Game of Thrones’ icon Charles Dance played a heavy trying to ice Roger Moore’s 007. Dance was even courted as a potential James Bond, but he graciously turned down the opportunity to audition as he didn’t feel he was a good fit for the role. 

Patrick Macnee - A View To A Kill

The British spy series The Avengers was another cultural icon that made many an actor into memorable agents of chaos and/or order. Patrick Macnee is one such icon, as he played series lead John Steed with a couple Bond girls joining in on the fun. So when Macnee was cast to assist Roger Moore in his final James Bond adventure, A View to a Kill, it felt like an ambitious crossover that was years in the making.

Dolph Lundgren - A View To A Kill

1985 was the year to have Dolph Lundgren playing your anti-capitalist villain. Not only did he square off against Sylvester Stallone in Rocky IV, but he also found time to play a KGB agent tasked with keeping Max Zorin (Christopher Walken) in line in A View to a Kill. And if Grace Jones wasn’t Walken’s hired muscle, he may have stood a chance.

Joe Don Baker - The Living Daylights

Even die hard James Bond fans have had moments where they forget that Joe Don Baker actually played a 007 villain before he rejoined the series. Later playing Pierce Brosnan’s American counterpart Jack Wade of the CIA, Baker first appeared in the series as The Living Daylights’ big bad Brad Whitaker. A madman fixated on military history, Whitaker would meet his Waterloo after Timothy Dalton’s James Bond sends him crashing into a model of that very same battle.

Carey Lowell - License To Kill

James Bond has always had a strong sense of law and order; so it’s only fitting that Law and Order cast member Carey Lowell got to play one of his partners in License to Kill. As Pam Bouvier, Lowell was involved in one of James Bond’s most personal vendettas ever recorded. She even showed off her jealous streak in the end, romancing 007 by confessing her feelings in a swimming pool scene out of a rom-com.

Benicio del Toro - License To Kill

A young and hungry Benicio del Toro went toe to toe with both Carey Lowell and Timothy Dalton in License to Kill. Playing henchman Dario, his skills were employed by drug dealer/business magnate Franz Sanchez (Robert Davi). It’s just a shame that 007 got the drop on this young buck, which resulted in a demise so brutal that it’s cut in some versions of the film.

Wayne Newton - License To Kill

Legendary crooner and enemy of Clark Griswold, Wayne Newton is also quite an actor. Nowhere did he show that than in License to Kill, where he played the sleazy preacher Professor Joe Butcher. The perfect nexus of ‘80s influences, Newton’s character was part of how Franz Sanchez’s cartel would send secret messages to its network of buyers and sellers; through the power of televangelism.

Alan Cumming - Goldeneye

Boris Grishenko is one of the most memorable presences in 007 history, making quite an impression in Goldeneye. But many probably forget that the chameleon behind this performance is none other than the insanely talented Alan Cumming. Though he may not have been as invincible as he thought, Cumming’s nasty nerd is hard to stay mad at, even when he gets frozen in liquid nitrogen.

Minnie Driver - Goldeneye

There’s a fine line between cameo appearances and secondary roles that appear as a brief blip in the James Bond world. Otherwise, we’d be able to claim people like Gerard Butler and Hugh Bonneville as entries on this list. While their appearances were too brief to mention, Minnie Driver’s brief but beautiful role in Goldeneye sees her almost get Pierce Brosnan killed, while also sassing back her on-screen sugar daddy Robbie Coltrane.

Robbie Coltrane - Goldeneye/The World Is Not Enough

Here’s another pop culture intersection that’s hard to believe: Hagrid was a sworn frenemy of James Bond! Appearing in both Goldeneye and The World is Not Enough, the late great Robbie Coltrane played Valentin Zukovsky, an ex-KGB player who loved and loathed 007. Coltrane’s patter with Pierce Brosnan is invaluable, which probably led to Zukovsky returning for a meatier role in The World is Not Enough.

Michelle Yeoh - Tomorrow Never Dies

Academy Award winner Michelle Yeoh has been Everything Everywhere All At Once, but early on in her career she was paired up with Pierce Brosnan’s Commander Bond to stop a madman. Tomorrow Never Dies saw the action star playing Wai Lin, a Chinese military officer who wants to prevent World War III as much as 007 does. If only she'd returned as supposedly planned in Die Another Day.

Teri Hatcher - Tomorrow Never Dies

While not quite a desperate housewife at this phase in her career, Teri Hatcher was still a popular actor that managed to land a Bond film with her clout. Playing 007’s ex-flame Paris Carver, her marriage to media mogul/villain Elliot Carver (Jonathan Pryce) put her in the crosshairs of fate.

Vincent Schiavelli - Tomorrow Never Dies

Character acting legend Vincent Schiavelli has been in everything from One Flew Over The Cuckoo’s Nest to Death to Smoochy. And thanks to being cast in Tomorrow Never Dies as the diabolical Dr. Kaufman, Schiavelli was able to cross off being a Bond baddie from his to-do list.

Denise Richards - The World Is Not Enough

Denise Richards has gotten a lot of unfair criticism for her role as The World is Not Enough’s Dr. Christmas Jones. But that hasn’t stopped her from defending her part in 007 history, and rightfully so. You may have forgotten her snappy patter with Pierce Brosnan, but it’s not hard to fall back into the rhythm between these two well matched co-stars.

Robert Carlyle - The World Is Not Enough

One of the best red herrings in James Bond history, Robert Carlyle expertly played the role of terrorist Renard in The World is Not Enough. With his own motivations overshadowing the true villain of the piece, the Full Monty and Once Upon A Time star may have slipped your mind in the world of 007, but he was indeed a pretty fantastic part of it all.

Rosamund Pike - Die Another Day

Secret villain Miranda Frost was the perfect warm up for future Gone Girl star Rosamund Pike. Playing who seemed to be an MI6 ally in Die Another Day, Pierce Brosnan’s James Bond eventually outed her as a colder player than she initially let on. The results were quite heated, especially as she would have to face off against true Bond ally Jinx (Halle Berry) in the big third act showdown.

Michael Madsen - Die Another Day

We’re never going to get that Pierce Brosnan/Quentin Tarantino James Bond movie that could have adapted Casino Royale. That being said, we may have gotten a taste of what a QT Bond character might have been like in Damian Falco, the CIA officer played by Tarantino vet Michael Madsen in Die Another Day. Which is enough to spark the FOMO all over again.

Tobias Menzies - Casino Royale

Before he terrorized Sam Heughan in Outlander, Tobias Menzies was a heroic party that assisted Daniel Craig’s James Bond in Casino Royale. Playing Villers, the right hand man to M (Judi Dench) before Tanner was revived in the post-reboot climate, Menzies saw some pretty harrowing action in the Bond franchise. Like that time James almost died due to a malfunctioning defibrillator. 

David Harbour - Quantum of Solace

An early career win for Violent Night’s David Harbour, the actor’s appearance as an antagonist in Quantum of Solace is another reason people shouldn’t sleep on this movie. As the morally corrupt Gregg Beam, Harbour is a delight in all of his scummy brilliance, just before the world would see him in a much more heroic light in Stranger Things.

Stana Katic - Quantum of Solace

Solving crimes alongside Nathan Fillion on Castle is Stana Katic’s major claim to fame. And just before she started babysitting a mystery author turned sleuth, she was a crucial part to Daniel Craig’s James Bond gaining closure over Vesper Lynd’s death; thanks to her appearance at the end of Quantum of Solace.

Helen McCrory - Skyfall

If you ever wanted to see Narscissa Malfoy and Voldemort battle it out, minus the wands and makeup, Skyfall should be added to your watch list at once. The late Helen McCrory and Ralph Fiennes face off during a hearing that questions the effectiveness of M’s leadership, which sees sparks fly in some heated verbal battle.

Albert Finney - Skyfall

There was once a time where Sean Connery was considered for a role in Skyfall. Instead, cooler heads prevailed, and Kincade, the groundskeeper of the old Bond estate, was cast as the legendary Albert Finney. I dare anyone else to say “Welcome to Skyfall” and make it sound as awesome.

Andrew Scott - Spectre

Though the world knows him as Sherlock’s Moriarty, actor Andrew Scott was also a thorn in the side of James Bond and his MI6 family. Popping up at exactly the wrong time in Spectre, Scott’s character Max Denbigh posed a great threat to the 00 program and all it stood for. 

Monica Bellucci - Spectre

Out of the extensive legacy of James Bond women, Monica Bellucci’s arrival in Spectre is one that was possibly the most hard fought. After Bellucci missed out on two Pierce Brosnan outings, seeing her romanced by Daniel Craig’s 007 was a triumph to behold.

Jimmy Dean - Diamonds Are Forever

The world at large will always remember actor/country singer/breakfast meat magnate Jimmy Dean for those various facets of his talent. But what most may not recall is the fact that he was also Willard White, the reclusive millionaire that Blofeld used as a cover for his grand schemes in Diamonds Are Forever.

With over 60 years under its belt, the James Bond legacy has certainly seen a lot of people come and go. As the next age of 007 dawns, who knows what the future will bring, and what major stars will appear only to be periodical surprises when revisiting the Bond adventures?

Reality competition shows changed TV when they debuted in the early 2000s, and are still showing no signs of slowing down. While shows like Survivor are still on the air after these years, there are also new shows arriving and becoming megahits. Case in point: The Traitors, hosted by the delightful Alan Cumming. Season 2 is coming to Peacock, and the cast was recently announced, featuring Survivor legends and some Real Housewives icons. Let's break it all down.

The first season of The Traitors featured a mixture of reality TV personalities and normal folks. But before Season 2 it was revealed that the show would be all reality stars, putting them on an even playing field. Now we know who is making up the cast thanks to Peacock's announcement on Instagram, and it's pretty stellar. Check it out:

Is anyone else's head spinning? Peacock pulled no punches with the new cast of The Traitors, and smart money says the forthcoming game is going to be chock full of drama. Emotions ran high for the first season of The Traitors, and this cast is know for making explosive TV. Let's break down this outstanding new cast.

Rumors were swirling about this cast for a while now, and Big Brother fans will be happy to know that legendary player Dan Gheesling is indeed on the cast. After Cirie Fields masterfully won the show's first season, Traitors stepped it up by bringing not one but two Survivor icons for Season 2. Namely two-time winner Sandra Diaz-Twine and fan favorite winner (and two time finalist) Parvati Shallow. They played two seasons together, so there's plenty of history to unpack in this new game. 

Real Housewife Brandi Glanville was in the show's first season, and it seemed like a no brainer to bring more stars from the Bravo franchise into the fold for Traitors Season 2. And Peacock did just that, as we'll get to see RHOA's Phaedra Parks and Shereé Whitfield compete. Additionally, Miami's Larsa Pippen is on the cast, alnogside her famous partner Marcus Jordan. 

The Challenge is also represented in the cast thanks to franchise icon ‘C.T.’ Tamburello and Johnny Bananas. And I'm psyched to see Drag Race icon Peppermint get in on the action.

It's currently unclear when The Traitors Season 2 will premiere. In the meantime, check out the TV premiere list to plan your next binge watch.

The world of reality TV shows stays in motion. Almost daily, it seems like a new reality TV show premieres on a broadcast network, cable channel, or streaming service. With so many available, it is hard to decide which ones are worth your time and energy. Peacock’s The Traitors is a reality TV show worthy of your attention. 

I love British panel shows and reality shows. Over the years, either through streaming services or Youtube and a dream, I’ve been able to watch international TV shows. Therefore, when I discovered that Peacock’s The Traitors had a UK version, I binge-watched it in a few days.

I am excited about the new U.S. streaming version and ready to tell you everything that you need to know about this new reality series. 

The Traitors Premieres On Peacock On January 12, 2023 

Peacock will release all 10 episodes (they're 60 minutes each) of The Traitors on January 12, 2023. This makes it a key part of Peacock's 2023 TV schedule. 

The streaming service is making a bold choice by releasing all the episodes to binge at once. Peacock has, overall, been implementing a strategy of releasing episodes weekly.

It did this with its other reality series, such as Love Island and Love for the Ages. It’s also been taking the one or several episodes-a-week formats with many of its original scripted series, including some of the best recent Peacock original TV shows.

Even streaming services that usually use the binge format have been releasing some of their reality shows weekly. Many of Netflix’s popular reality dating TV shows use the weekly episode formula. Having a few weeks to build momentum and word-of-mouth may have been a better strategy with The Traitors, because it could really benefit from social media buzz. However, I will be one of those people binge-watching once it's released. I know just how entertaining the show can be.

The Traitors Is Based On A Dutch Series 

The original The Traitors, known as De Verraders, began in 2021 in the Netherlands. It’s already aired for two seasons, and similar to another Netherlands sensation, Big Brother, it already has several international versions.

As of January 2023, there are nine international versions of The Traitors, including an upcoming Spanish version for HBO Max (via Deadline), Peacock’s, the U.K. version, and an Australian edition. 

According to Deadline, the one in the U.K. has become quite popular, with a steady weekly ratings increase. It’s yet to be determined if the U.S. edition will have similar success, but it may, based on the track record of other adapted and imported reality TV shows. 

The Circle originated in the U.K. and then produced several different international versions. It is just one example of a successful imported reality TV show. The U.S. edition of The Circle ran for longer than the original, with five current seasons.

Brandi Glanville loves a good scandal, Rachel Reilly is not afraid to be blunt about her opinions, and many of these other reality TV stars generally add fun or drama to any show. Additionally, most of them have been on multiple reality series, so they know what makes entertaining reality TV.  

The U.K. version only had civilians, and they were very entertaining. Hopefully, we can expect some of the non-reality stars to not be overshadowed by reality TV veterans in terms of entertainment. 

Broadway star Alan Cumming (who also appeared on The Good Wife) hosts The Traitors. We know that he will add charm and entertainment to the show.  

It’s A Show About Traitors Vs. Faithfuls

The Traitors is a lot like the game Mafia. In both games, the objective is to identify the person killing players before it’s too late. At the beginning of the game, three Traitors are chosen based on interviews done by the host. They then meet to decide who to kill for each game round. Whoever they pick to kill is out of the game.

Players can also be eliminated during a round table. This is where the remaining contestants accuse someone of being a Traitor. Whether a Traitor or a Faithful (anyone not a Traitor), the player with the most votes at each round table is eliminated. The goal for the Faithfuls is to eliminate all the Traitors before the end of the game. The goal of the Traitors is to go undetected until the end.

There will be twists thrown into the game, such as asking other players to become a Traitor, killing a player in plain sight, or even giving a player an ultimatum to join the Traitors or die. Peacock’s The Traitors may have its own set of twists, but these are some of the major ones from the U.K. edition.

There is no consequence for eliminating a Faithful instead of a Traitor, but it will make it harder at the end to figure out who the Traitors are, or worse, you may end up with more Traitors than Faithful at the end of the game.

That could be very bad for the Faithfuls.

The Traitors Could Win The Entire Grand Prize 

If only Faithfuls remain at the end, then they split the grand prize. If there are any Traitors remaining at the end of the game, they get the entire grand prize and can split it among themselves. If only one Traitor remains, they get the entire prize. In order for the Faithfuls to win any money, they have to eliminate all the Traitors.

For the Traitors to win the entire prize, they must make it to the end and successfully convince everyone that they’re a Faithful. They add to the prize pot by completing several tasks. This means the prize money completely depends on their success as a team.

Unlike series like The Mole, the Traitors must help the team win money. There are no sabotages by Traitors in terms of prize money, because it’s their pot to win as well. Peacock’s iteration mentions that the prize money could go as high as $250,000. 

Also unlike The Mole, the Traitors are revealed to you at the start of the series. Therefore, you watch their journey along with the Faithfuls’ journey. 

The trailer for shows some of the challenges, and they look very similar to the U.K. tasks. This may mean that Peacock just plans to repeat those challenges. A lot of them are interesting, including one where players are buried in a coffin. 

Stream all 10 episodes of The Traitors Season 1 on Peacock on January 12, 2023. It has the potential to be one of the best shows to watch on Peacock. You won’t want to miss it.

We never like to hear stories about animals in grave peril. You cannot help but grow an attachment to them, whether it is working with animals one-on-one or watching them on the big screen, like Dolphin Tale telling the tear-jerking story of a boy bonding with an injured dolphin. GoldenEye's Alan Cumming can relate to bonding with an animal based on his experiences filming the 1997 film Buddy. His chimp co-star in the film, Tonka, has gone missing, and Cumming is putting up money to help find him. 

It is a sad feeling when you watch a family film with lovable animals only to discover some sad facts about what happened to that particular animal now. According to Variety, Tonka the chimpanzee was last seen at the defunct chimpanzee breeding facility Missouri Primate Foundation in Festus, Missouri. This location was where chimpanzees were bred only to be rented out for movies or parties, or sold to private owners. Alan Cumming has decided to put up a $10,000 reward for anyone who has seen his beloved chimp.

The Scottish actor and the chimp Tonka go back two and a half decades, as they co-starred in the family film Buddy about a wealthy eccentric who collects wild animals into her home. Alan Cumming recalled in a statement the times they had together during filming when they became good friends playing together. Because it saddened him to think of what could have become of this precious primate, he asked in the statement to please come forward about Tonka’s whereabouts. If only this was a Marvel movie where Alan Cumming could relive his Nightcrawler character by teleporting himself all over the place to find this chimp.

While PETA tends to have its "monster" problems with the use of animals in television shows and movies, this animal rights organization has decided to help in the search for Tonka by putting up its own $10,000 reward. The organization has previously sued the Missouri Primate Foundation over Tonka being “warehoused in often filthy, virtually barren enclosures.” When PETA arrived to move Tonka and six other chimps to a better home, Tonka went missing in July 2021. 

Alan Cumming is not the only person in the entertainment business who stands up for animals. Retired game show host Bob Barker is an animal rights activist who founded the DJ&T Foundation to pay for the spaying and neutering of pets. He has given millions to the PAWS Animal Sanctuary and the Sea Shepherd Organization. Before Betty White’s recent death, she worked with the Greater Los Angeles Zoo Association for more than 50 years. Even Bradley Cooper used his own dog in A Star is Born instead of one supplied by Hollywood’s animal exhibitors. Wherever Alan Cumming’s former co-star chimp is, I hope everyone will band together to find him soon.

The success in relaunching the James Bond franchise with 1995’s crucial entry Goldeneye wasn’t merely built on Pierce Brosnan’s sterling debut as 007. He was the nucleus of a wide array of supporting actors who played equally memorable characters that took the stage in director Martin Campbell’s first turn as a Bond director. One of the most notable was actor Alan Cumming, who had a triumphant Bond audition, yet recalls that at the time, he was battling suicidal thoughts. 

Alan Cumming talks about the experience in his new memoir Baggage: Tales from a Fully Packed Life (via Insider), which is the follow-up to his previous memoir Not My Father’s Son. This time around, the legendary actor discussed how his career helped him navigate the personal highs and lows of his life. The latter is represented partially in his story of how his audition to play the weasley techno henchman Boris Grishenko was an act in more ways than one:

Interestingly enough, the nonchalant approach seems to be the best way to enter the James Bond series. Daniel Craig seemed pretty nonplussed in the beginning, as he was initially ready to turn down the equally pivotal Casino Royale, until he read the script. In Alan Cumming’s case, masking his inner pain through auditioning for a 007 movie seemed to have helped him get the part, which gave his fans, and fans of Bond, a very memorable henchman that you couldn't help but love:

X2: X-Men United’s Alan Cumming has an acting resume that spans across multiple mediums – film, television, streaming and stage. Over the years, Cumming has taken part in many classics and box office hits, but there’s one film opportunity that he passed up. According to the actor, the role wasn’t even worth his time and effort. Cumming broke down why he turned down a role in the Harry Potter franchise with an expletive-filled send-off.

For years, Alan Cumming’s name has been surrounded in rumors when being in the running to play Professor Gilderoy Lockhart in Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets. The pivotal role eventually went to actor-director Kenneth Branagh with reports of Cumming turning down the role. But according to the Good Wife alum, that wasn’t entirely true. The X-Men star revealed to Telegraph why he didn’t even test for the Harry Potter role.

Given Cumming’s status on stage and screen at that point, it’s completely understandable that he didn’t test for the role. Alan Cumming knew what was happening and didn’t want any parts of it. At the time of the screen test, Cumming and Rupert Everett were at the same status in entertainment with the same manager. So seemingly it didn’t make sense to pay Everett for his time but not Cumming.

As the X2 alum pointed out, Kenneth Branagh ended up getting the part anyway. That’s disappointing for some considering Rupert Everett went all out for his screen test. So, neither Everett nor Alan Cumming would ultimately get to play Prof. Lockhart. But in Branagh’s defense, he did an excellent job capturing the fraud wizard’s personality and essence.

Despite not getting the part, Alan Cumming’s career hasn’t suffered. Cumming has used his talents to bring life to countless films and television series over the years. The Good Wife alum has continued to thrive in Hollywood.

The X-Men alum is currently showcasing his vast talent in the Apple TV+ musical comedy Schmigadoon. The series is currently streaming on the platform with its season finale airing on Aug. 13.

Many actors lament the roles that got away. It’s far more rare for an actor to happily turn a huge role down, especially if it’s in a well-established franchise. But The Good Wife’s Alan Cumming is very honest about the fact that he once turned down a huge role in Harry Potter. In fact, he doesn’t seem to have any regrets at all, as he didn't mince words when explaining why he turned it down.

Over the span of eight movies, hundreds of actors appeared in the Harry Potter series. While the films center around the students at Hogwarts, many adult actors also filled key roles in the ensemble. Some characters, like Alan Rickman’s Severus Snape were present for the length of the series, while others only showed up for a film or two. Still, even if a character was a one-off performance, many actors likely coveted those roles. Alan Cumming was not one of them, as he told The Telegraph that he was given the chance to audition for the role of Gilderoy Lockhart in Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, the second film in the series. But due to the circumstances surrounding the casting process, his response to the opportunity was less than positive:

That may be surprising to some, given what a big deal Harry Potter was. But Cumming explained what made him so resistant to join the franchise:

With that context, it makes sense why Cumming wasn’t keen to hop on the Hogwarts Express. Knowing that your work is valued less than another actor’s can’t be a great feeling. It’s hard not to wonder what Gilderoy Lockhart would have been like had he been played by Cumming, though.

Kenneth Branagh -- who almost ended up directing a Harry Potter film as well -- did well portraying the celebrity wizard-turned-Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher as the smarmy jerk fans of the books know him to be. Yet Alan Cumming could have brought a slightly sinister edge to the role and made it feel completely different. Nevertheless, fans of the actor did still get a chance to see him play opposite Daniel Radcliffe. The two actors co-starred in a production of the play Endgame in 2020, so they'll always have that connection, at least.

Apple TV+ has been coming out strong with some awesome series the last couple of years, from the hilarious Central Park to the heartwarming Ted Lasso. However, a newcomer is coming to the stage soon, added onto the 2021 TV shows that are debuting – Schmigadoon!

Yes, you read that right. The new musical comedy has come to our laptops and TVs through Apple TV+, joining the 2021 Summer TV schedule, giving us glorious skits and catchy tunes for several weeks. With so many stars in this one, there’s no doubt in my mind that you have seen this cast before. From Cecily Strong to Keegan-Michael Key and Dove Cameron, here is where you have seen the Schmigadoon! cast before.

Cecily Strong (Melissa Gimble)

As the first half of the couple who stumbles into the world of Schmigadoon!, Cecily Strong portrays Melissa Gimble. If that name sounds familiar, it’s probably because you might have seen her as a current cast member on the legendary primetime sketch show, Saturday Night Live, showing off her comedy skills.

If not, you’ve most likely seen her in the 2016 remake of the classic film, Ghostbusters, the sports-comedy film, The Bronze, or heard her voice on the animated comedy, The Awesomes. Cecily Strong has also had plenty of guest spots on TV shows as well, such as Superstore and Scream Queens. This, however, will be her first leading role in a live-action, non-sketch TV show, so it’s super exciting for her to be showing off her comedy skills in a leading lady way.

Keegan-Michael Key (Josh Skinner)

If you haven’t heard of Keegan-Michael Key, you’ve definitely been living under a rock. Portraying Josh Skinner, Key takes the second lead in Schmigadoon! He has been in plenty of TV shows that you might have seen him in before, namely the popular sketch show, Key and Peele, which he did with Jordan Peele. Key has also been in a couple of other television series, including the comedy series Playing House and the Netflix original series, Friends from College.

Keegan-Michael Key has also been in several films – almost too many to put down here. Some of his highlights are portraying Sammy in Pitch Perfect 2, voicing Murray the Mummy in the Hotel Transylvania series, playing Clarence in Keanu alongside Jordan Peele, voicing Ducky in Toy Story 4, playing Jerry Jones in Dolemite Is My Name, Gustafson in Jingle Jangle: A Christmas Journey, and Tom Hawkins in the Netflix musical, The Prom. Now that’s an actor with plenty of range.

Alan Cumming (Mayor Aloysius Menlove)

Portraying Mayor Aloysius Menlove in Schmigadoon!, Alan Cumming has been in the film and TV industry for a long time. However, another part of the entertainment world he has been a part of is theater, where he has performed in many productions, including Hamlet, The Accidental Death of an Anarchist, and Cabaret, for which he won a Tony Award.

Even so, Alan Cumming has been in plenty of television shows and films as well. For television, one of his bigger roles that you might have seen him in was The Good Wife, where he played Eli Gold. For film, some of his more popular roles were portraying Gutsy Smurf in The Smurfs film series, and performing in Battle of the Sexes, Goldeneye, and Son of the Mask. He’s definitely shown off some amazing talents over his years of acting, so it’s great to have him in Schmigadoon!.

Fred Armisen (Reverend Howard Layton)

In Schmigadoon!, Fred Armisen portrays Reverend Howard Layton, adding to the long list of many films and TV shows this famous actor/comedian has been in. Fred Armisen really came into the public eye when he signed on to become a cast member of Saturday Night Live, a role he would hold for several years, from 2002-2013.

However, after his time on SNL, Armisen went on to do many more projects, especially in comedy. He co-starred in the IFC sketch comedy, Portlandia, and the mockumentary IFC series, Documentary Now! with Bill Hader and Seth Meyers, two other SNL legends. Currently, he’s in the Showtime series, Moonbase 8, and has a recurring role on the Netflix animated comedy, Big Mouth. Fred Armisen has also done many film roles, with some of his big hits being Easy A, Anchorman, Battle of the Sexes, and plenty more.

Fred Armisen is also known for having some hilarious guest and recurring spots on famous sitcoms, such as Brooklyn Nine-Nine, 30 Rock, Parks and Recreation, and so many others. He’s really been all over the place – it wouldn’t be a surprise if you’ve seen him elsewhere prior to Schmigadoon!.

Kristin Chenoweth (Margaret/Mildred Layton)

As Margert/Mildred Layton in Schmigadoon!, Kristin Chenoweth is the perfect fit for the musical role. Prior to her success in the film/TV realm, Kristin Chenoweth was (and still is) a very popular Broadway performer, with two major hits behind her – playing Sally in You’re A Good Man, Charlie Brown, and Glinda in Wicked, the first of which she won a Tony Award for.

However, Kristin Chenoweth has done a lot in TV and film, as well. She had a recurring guest role on the popular Fox show, Glee, and the classic children’s show, Sesame Street. Chenoweth also had a recurring (later main) role on The West Wing as Annabeth Schott, showing off her drama skills as well. Recently, Chenoweth has portrayed Maleficent in the Disney Channel film series, Descendants, and had a role in the Netflix Christmas film, Holidate.

It’s great to have her on a show like Schmigadoon! where we get to hear her singing talents once again.

Aaron Tevit (Danny Bailey)

Portraying Danny Bailey, Aaron Tevit is a great choice for a show like Schmigadoon!, because he has been many musicals prior to this. For example, he was in Next to Normal, originating the role of Gabe, and as Frank Abagnale Jr. in the musical version of Catch Me If You Can, as well as playing Christian in the stage version of Moulin Rouge!, which he received a Tony nomination for.

Tevit has also taken his talents to film and TV before, portraying Enjolras in the 2013 film, Les Miserables, and Danny Zuko in Grease: Live. Other than musical talents, Tevit has also had a recurring role on the popular CW show, Gossip Girl, portrayed Mike Warren on Graceland, and Gareth Ritter on BrainDead. Tevit is also going to be in the upcoming American Horror Stories series on Hulu.

Dove Cameron (Betsey McDonough)

Dove Cameron, who portrays Betsey McDonough in Schmigadoon!, has a lot of TV credits. From a young age, she started with a dual role in Liv and Maddie, the popular Disney Channel series that won her a Daytime Emmy Award. While working at Disney, she also starred as Mal in the Descendants series, as the daughter of Maleficent (Kristin Chenoweth).

Cameron has also had a recurring role on the Marvel show, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., and is going to be in the upcoming CW show, Powerpuff, a live-action version of The Powerpuff Girls, playing Bubbles.

In terms of film, Cameron hasn’t done as much as some of her co-stars, with one of her major roles being in the Netflix film, Dumplin’. However, after her role in Schmigadoon!, we might get to see her in more films soon. Her musical talents are second to none.

Ariana DeBose (Emma Tate)

In Schmigadoon!, you’ve already seen we have plenty of musical talent, and Ariana DeBose only adds onto that list, playing Emma Tate. Ariana DeBose has done a lot in theater, including her role as The Bullet in Hamilton: An American Musical, and main roles in both A Bronx Tale and Summer: The Donna Summer Musical.

In terms of film/TV, Ariana DeBose hasn’t done much yet, with her only major role recently being in The Prom on Netflix, starring as Alyssa Greene, but you better watch out for her. In 2021, she’s going to be portraying Anita in the Steven Spielberg remake of West Side Story, so you’ll for sure see this talented actress popping up on your newsfeed after Schmigadoon!.

Jaime Camil (Doc Lopez)

Portraying Doc Lopez in Schmigadoon!, Jaime Camil has been all over the place – namely on Spanish language TV. While he’s done Spanish dubs for Open Season and Bee Movie, he’s also had voice roles in films such as Coco, The Secret Life of Pets, and Hotel Transylvania 3.

If you’re thinking you’ve seen him in American television, he did have a main role in the popular series, Jane the Virgin, where he played Rogelio de la Vega, and in Legend of the Three Caballeros.

However, Jaime Camil is more known for his roles in telenovelas – and he’s been in several. His big one was portraying Fernando Mendiola in La Fea Mas Bella, where he played the role for 300 episodes, but he’s been in many others, including Mujer De Madera, Los Exitosos Perez, Por Ella Soy Eva, and so many others.

Ann Harada (Florence Menlove)

In Schmigadoon!, Ann Harada portrays Florence Menlove. Prior to her appearance on the show, she was in the off-Broadway show, Avenue Q, originating the role of Christmas Eve. She also had roles in Broadway productions of Les Miserables, 9 to 5, Cinderella, along with several others.

However, Schmigadoon! is actually her first major role in film/TV, and it’s a welcome entry into the entertainment world for this talented singer.

Also in Schmigadoon, Jane Krakowski and Martin Short both guest-starred, as the Countess Gabriele Von Bierkom and the Leprechaun, respectively, adding onto the already long list of stars.

Jeez, with a talented cast like that, Schmigadoon! seems sure to succeed – maybe even become one of the best Apple TV+ shows that the streaming site has to offer. I can already feel myself singing along with the songs. Next thing you know, I’m going to be in a musical, too.

Though many broadcast network shows have already been well aware of their futures (good or bad) for months now, CBS' crime drama Instinct only recently received word from the network that the currently airing Season 2 would be its final one. Instinct was something of a bubble show, but its cancellation was still a blow for all involved. Star Alan Cumming did not immediately go public with a reaction to the cancellation, though has has since released a statement on social media.

Taking to Instagram, Alan Cumming shared his heartfelt appreciation to some of those involved. In his words:

Now it feels like a major whiff of a missed opportunity for CBS not to release an Instinct coffee table book filled with Alan Cumming's selfies taken with prosthetic corpses. Especially if he's a dress-to-the-nines Dapper Dan alongside the bodies.

Alan Cumming sounds genuinely thankful for having gotten the chance to portray Dr. Dylan Reinhart on a weekly basis alongside co-star Bojana Novakovic. He'll definitely be missing her now that their time together on Instinct is completely finished. At least as far as filming goes, since there are a couple more episodes still left to air.

Take note that whenever Instinct wraps things up later this month, it will end a poignant distinction that makes the CBS drama as historically significant as anything else currently airing. Namely, that Alan Cumming's Reinhart was gay. Here's how the actor addressed that side of things.

While shows like the exiting Will & Grace do prominently feature gay characters as leads, that NBC offering is obviously a comedy, as are many others. Dramas are clearly a bigger challenge for creators to include gay regulars, but Instinct didn't seem to have a problem making it work.

Perhaps some of the minds that were potentially changed by Instinct will be involved in creating new TV shows in the future. Perhaps every new broadcast comedy and drama in the 2020 world will feature at least one gay lead character. Perhaps, perhaps, perhaps.

Thankfully for Alan Cumming's biggest fans, the actor had somewhat recently signed on for a new project, the upcoming USA drama Briarpatch, which also stars Rosario Dawson and Ed Asner. The series centers on a small town whose secrets get revealed while a murder is investigated. Cumming will be playing an arms dealer in Briarpatch, so don't expect this character to share a lot of the same dialogue with Dr. Reinhart.

Alan Cumming's Instinct will air its final episode on Sunday, August 25, at 9:00 p.m. ET.

CBS has cancelled Instinct, and the series’ showrunner has explained how Season 2 will very quickly end the series. Instinct’s showrunner, Michael Rauch, shared the sad news with fans on Twitter. After two seasons, the drama will come to an end, and not too far into the future. Check out Rauch’s tweet below:

A grateful Michael Rauch shared his thanks to Instinct’s leads, Alan Cumming and Bojana Novakovic. As revealed in his tweet, Instinct will hastily make its exit from CBS’ lineup. The crime drama will conclude with its second season finale, which will double as its series ender. It will air the Sunday after next on August 25.

The sad news of Instinct not getting renewed for Season 3 comes after a sophomore season that has struggled in the ratings. Season 2 saw Instinct’s Season 1 demo rating slashed in half, per TVLine. The series’ second season has drawn of an average of 3.4 million viewers and ranked last in the demos.

The ratings often tell the story. Did they contribute to CBS’ decision to cancel Instinct? It is highly possible. Personal instinct indicates that it probably played a role. In case you were wondering, Instinct's showrunner also weighed in on the chances of the show getting rescued. Here was his response to a fan:

Fans will have to stay tuned to find out if Instinct eventually finds a new home elsewhere. Netflix has been known to save cancelled network series. Albeit, it recently had to cancel one of its rescues.

Word of Instinct's cancellation may not come as a complete shock to fans considering the news that made the rounds back in June. That was when it was reported that Instinct’s lead, Alan Cumming, had landed a new show. That series is the USA drama Briarpatch, which has Cumming starring opposite Rosario Dawson.

The lead of an existing show landing a new one tends to be a not-so-great omen for the pre-existing series. Instinct fans will have to tune in to see how the show wraps up. Hopefully, without a cliffhanger that makes its cancellation all the more stinging.

Instinct premiered in March of 2018, making it a midseason offering. Last year, Instinct was accused of ripping off of a plotline from Fox’s long-running procedural, Bones. The showrunner responded to the claims.

Instinct’s second season premiered this past June, almost a year after Season 1 concluded. Instinct stars the mega-talented Alan Cumming as Dr. Dylan Reinhart. He is an author, university professor, and former CIA paramilitary officer. All of the ingredients for a memorable procedural character.

Instinct’s initial premise hinged on Dr. Reinhart’s expertise being called upon by a detective with the NYPD, Elizabeth Needham (Bojana Novakovic). In his review, CinemaBlend’s Corey Chichizola felt Alan Cumming was not able to save it.

News of Instinct’s cancellation comes after CBS cancelled the series Ransom, and also cancelled Nina Dobrev's sitcom Fam after one season. The network recently bid farewell to long-running fan-favorite, Elementary, shortly after losing The Big Bang Theory. Meanwhile, Hawaii Five-O is prepping its tenth season with the introduction of an Arrow star and filming on NCIS: Los Angeles Season 11 has gotten underway.

New episodes of Instinct air Sundays at 9 p.m. ET on CBS. The series finale will air August 25. To help cope with the cancellation news try to look forward to this fall’s premieres.

The Good Wife's Alan Cumming returned to CBS in the police procedural Instinct, in which he plays an author and psychology professor who also just so happens to be former CIA. Consulting with the NYPD on unusual cases, his character has been essential to the series. Now, Cumming has landed a new role that raises the question: is Instinct in danger on CBS?

Alan Cumming has reportedly been cast in the upcoming USA drama Briarpatch. The series will be based on the novel of the same name penned by Ross Thomas. Cumming will play a character by the name of Clyde Brattle, an arms dealer whose elegance and charm are only part of his personality. He's also quite murderous, and that side is likely what turned him into a fugitive fleeing a Senatorial investigation. He's on a mission to settle some scores and cause some chaos for investigator Allegra Dill.

Rosario Dawson of Netflix's Marvel series fame plays Allegra Dill, who is determined to solve the mystery of her sister's murder. The investigation forces her to delve into her own past as she spends time in her corrupt hometown in Texas. The search for the murderer will presumably lead her to cross paths with Alan Cumming's Clyde Brattle. Clyde sounds like a pretty meaty role, and the premise sounds like it has the potential for a lot of story. Does this mean Instinct is ending, and that has freed Cumming up for the new show?

Well, we can't rule out the end of Instinct, as it was hardly killing in the ratings in the first season, and its second season has yet to kick off. It's far from a sure thing for having a future on the Eye Network. Still, there are big reasons for fans not to panic about Instinct 100% getting the axe just because news broke that Alan Cumming landed a new job.

For one thing, the role of Clyde Brattle will be recurring rather than regular, so the job would presumably require less time than Alan Cumming's starring gig on CBS. TVLine reports an insider source stating that Cumming's work on Briarpatch would not conflict with a third season of Instinct, should CBS go in that direction. For another thing, it's possible that Instinct could kill off or downgrade his character. His death or reduced presence would of course be a huge blow to the show, but we can't rule it out.

Furthermore, Briarpatch will be an anthology drama, so Clyde Brattle does not have the potential to require a multi-season commitment from Alan Cumming. Now, if he had signed on for the role of The Doctor on Doctor Who, which was a possibility not once but twice, or his one-off Doctor Who role had turned into something more, there would have likely been a bigger problem.

Should fans panic that Instinct is ending just because Alan Cumming joined a new show? No. Should fans tune in on a weekly basis to try and get Instinct the ratings for CBS to keep it on the air for a third season? Definitely. Instinct Season 2 premieres Sunday, June 30 at 9 p.m. ET on CBS.

2019 Summer TV And Streaming Schedule: Premiere Dates For New And Streaming Shows

It's entirely possible that Season 2 will deliver the kind of numbers CBS is looking for out of a summer show, and perhaps even grow from its Season 1 numbers. The first season debuted in midseason and aired from March (almost immediately causing some controversy) to early July 2018. There's traditionally less primetime competition in the summer months, so maybe Instinct could find a niche in the warmer months. We'll have to wait and see.

Action movies come with their own set of risks, and there are no movies quite as action heavy as the James Bond franchise. While Daniel Craig has filmed his tenure as 007 without much bodily harm, other action stars like Tom Cruise have sustained heavy injuries while working on stunts. It turns out that the 1995 classic Bond installment Goldeneye featured on an set injury, although it was sustained by supporting actor Alan Cumming. Cumming's character Boris meets a grisly end when being frozen to death, and filming the scene resulted in Cumming being trapped under some burning hot liquid nitrogen. As he tell it,

Ouch. While fans of James Bond were happy to see Boris go in such a theatrical way, Alan Cumming certainly didn't deserve such a grisly fate. Firemen were eventually called onto set, who had to put the actor out. What an ordeal.

As much as film sets are controlled environments, accidents happen all the time. Alan Cumming's account to EW is certainly a scary one, and it's fascinating to hear it come out now. Cumming wasn't involved in a ton of action scenes while playing the villainous Boris in Goldeneye, so it's surprising that he ended up suffering such a terrifying injury.

James Bond deaths are always theatric, and Boris' was no exception. Although it is way less satisfying to see the flash freezing, considering the pain it put Alan Cumming in back in the 90s.

There have been plenty of major injuries and even fatalities in movies in the past few years. Harrison Ford broke his leg filming The Force Awakens, and Maze Runner star Dylan O'Brien was terribly injured during a grisly accident. Even worse than that, a crew member died on the set of the final Resident Evil movie, and a Deadpool 2 stunt woman also passed away after a motorcycle crash. While being a movie star certainly has its perks, there is a certain danger that can come with the job.

Romy And Michele's High School Reunion is an utterly ridiculous movie that people seem to either love or absolutely hate. I happen to love it because I'm a man of exquisite taste, though I did manage to restrain myself enough to keep any references out of my wedding. Apparently the same cannot be said for other fans. In fact, more than a few of them over the years have apparently invited star Alan Cumming to do the three-way dance during their ceremonies.

The former Good Wife star was chatting it up this week with People TV when he was asked to comment on his ridiculous dance sequence during the climax of Romy And Michele. While offering his take and openly wondering why the hell anyone even cast him for the role in his first American movie, he started discussing how much fans love it.

At the end of the day, weddings are about expressing love in front of family and friends. For some, that means having a very serious affair where everyone silently reflects on a couple's journey, and for others, that means having as much fun as possible to celebrate. Fortunately, there's no right or wrong way to do a wedding. So, if the newlyweds want to have a six hour mass, followed by music-less mingling, they should do that. If they want to reenact the dance from Romy and Michele, they should do that too.

Alan Cumming definitely seems interested in giving a random yes at some point, though whether that ends up happening is unclear. The only thing I can promise is if that ever did happen, it would be the most viral video on the Internet the following day. There are simply too many Romy and Michele fans and too many people who enjoy random celebrity appearances, and that is a perfect marriage of both.

There's something to be said for a movie that knows exactly what it is and just celebrates that. This dance sequence is a perfect reminder of how much Romy and Michele's High School Reunion gets that. Now, if you'll excuse me, I cut my foot before and my shoe is filling up with blood.

There are certain TV genres that are tried and true. There's law shows, medical dramas, and above all else police procedurals. While at one time cops shows like Law and Order: SVU once dominated airwaves, plot driven scripted shows have since become the most popular shows on TV. CBS is trying to change this with Instinct, starring the always delightful Alan Cumming. While the series attempts to diversify the genre and makes positive steps for inclusion, it's not enough to really make the show stand out.

Instinct was created by Michael Rauch, who is a TV producer and director best known for his work on USA's Royal Pains. The series follows an unlikely duo of crime fighters, as they learn to get to know each other while also working in tandem to stop deadly criminals around New York. Alan Cumming plays Dylan Reinhart, a quirky author and professor who is not as clueless as he seems. Dylan is paired with Lizzie Needham (Shameless' Bojana Novakovic), who is a smart and strong Detective that has a hard time holding onto a partner. They join forces to help solve crimes, and end up bonding along the way.

Unlike many other crime procedurals, Instinct is made up of some very interesting characters. Alan Cumming's Dylan is layered and charming. The series is unique by crafting Dylan as a married gay man, making history for cop procedural genre. While he originally just seems like a quirky author and professor, his colorful past slowly is introduced throughout the course of the first few episodes. It turns out that he is a former CIA operative, which makes him just about the perfect partner for Lizzie.

Lizzie's character is not quite as dynamic as Dylan. While the two have a great rapport, she doesn't have nearly as much originality or personality to her character. Lizzie gets to have some vulnerability when it comes to home and by sharing details about her past. But it's when the two stars are together that Instinct shines the brightest, as they're complimentary and more woke than cop show protagonists typically are.

Instinct has a strong supporting cast as well, who will hopefully get more time to shine as the series gets further into its tenure on the air. Avid TV fans will recognize British actor Naveen Andrews as Dylan's associate Julian. Andrews is perhaps best known for his role as Sayid in Lost, and was recently seen as a supporting role in Netflix's ambitious but cancelled Sense8. He brings his signature intensity to the role, and he and Cumming have some serious chemistry.

The great Whoopi Goldberg also makes an appearance in Instinct's pilot as Dylan's editor. His latest pages are dull and boring, and Goldberg tries to convince the protagonist to once again embrace his inner weird. This sage advice no doubt inspires Dylan's decision to jump back into the world of crime fighting, allowing the quick cameo to have a more significant role in the show's plot. CBS has put Whoopi front and center in Instinct's trailer, so it's unclear if she'll end up reappearing occasionally through the course of the season. But if manages to have some legs, it certainly doesn't seem out of the question that the host of The View might return.

CBS' new procedural shines when it highlights its starring cast members, especially Alan Cumming. Cumming's Dylan Reinhart is a wholly unique character, who we learn more from with each episode. He's openly gay and dressed to the nines, but he also rides a motorcycle and is excellent with his sidearm. Every scene reveals different shades of his character, and it makes sense why Instinct got ordered to series on the network.

But since Instinct is ultimately a procedural, the show never gets to put enough emphasis on its two leads. Each episode will bring a new criminal for Dylan and Lizzie to hunt down and stop, relying highly on both of their psychological prowess. Lizzie is actually a major fan of Dylan's book, adding some cute fangirl moments for Bojana Novakovic to play with.

In some ways Instinct shouldn't be faulted for adhering to the genre's format. Procedurals are meant to focus on the guest stars of the week, allowing each installment to go in new and exciting adventures. But the entertainment world is currently focused on serialized storytelling, with entire universes forming and crossing over with each other. This shift in perspective may be hard for TV audiences to get past while watching Instinct, especially with the solid performance coming from Alan Cumming. Combine the procedural format with its massively popular competition on Sunday nights, and Instinct might not be exciting enough to have a long run.
