While we don’t know when, sometime in the future, you’ll be able to see a new adaptation of Stephenie Meyer’s Twilight with a Netflix subscription. In early 2024, Lionsgate announced they were making an animated series based on the vampire phenomenon, and months later, it was shared that it would be a Netflix project. If you were hoping to hear the original voices behind the movies, it sounds like that’s off the table per recent comments from the cast.

Peter Facinelli (Carlisle), Ashley Greene (Alice), Kellan Lutz (Emmett) and Jackson Rathbone (Jasper) of the original Twilight cast reunited with fans at Motor City Comic Con in Michigan last week. During a panel discussion hosted by ScreenRant, they revealed they tried and failed to get involved in the series, which is an adaptation specifically of Midnight Sun. As Rathbone revealed:

What? If you’re a Twilight fan, you know that Midnight Sun is the original Twilight story, but from the perspective of Edward Cullen instead of Bella Swan. With that in mind, it features his vampire clan a lot more than the original story, and could have been a great opportunity for these supporting actors to get more time to tell their iconic characters’ stories.

During the panel, Rathbone shared that he and his co-stars actually learned about the existence of the in-development TV show from fans, and even knows someone who auditioned for it. However, when they reached out to the powers that be about getting involved, they were shut down. No casting announcements have been made for the Twilight TV show, but we suspect Netflix wants to go in a new direction with this series. Facinelli had this to say:

While the actor behind Carlisle is understandably disappointed, he also said he’s “sure it'll be great in its own right." Ashley Greene also offered support for whoever takes over their roles, saying, “We wish them the best". The Alice Cullen actress hilariously said, “We still sound so young!" before her sweet and professional comments.

A new era of Twilight cast members may be upon us, but these actors will never not be famous for playing the roles in the original movies. Taylor Lautner is doing a show called Werewolf Hunter and Kristen Stewart is about to be in a new vampire movie. The five-film saga recently came back to theaters as the book series turned just 20, and the Cullen Clan continues to keep busy going to all sorts of fan-centric conventions, past the Michigan appearance.

So, while they might not be the new project, at least they are all still staying connected to the franchise and the genre.

I was a pretty big Twihard, even if it makes me cringe to think about my vampire phase, and I can admit that these movies and books were quite a whirlwind of a phenomenon. I remember Team Jacob and Team Edward was the make-or-break controversy at the lunch table in ’09. So, it’s always nice when we get to check back in with the Twilight cast and learn more about what happened behind the scenes. Recently, Vampire dad Peter Facinelli and clairvoyant queen Ashley Greene shared some shenanigans that involved a Kristen Stewart replica that got them in trouble, and this story is honestly hilarious.

At a panel during MegaCon Orlando (via People), Twilight alumni Ashley Greene and Peter Facinelli, known for their roles as Alice and Carlisle Cullen, were telling stories with their fellow co-stars about some of the shenanigans that took place on set. Among the stories told, Greene shared that one of her favorite memories was when the producers tried to take away phones, saying:

This was in reference to the filming of New Moon, the second installment of the movie franchise. So it only took two movies for someone to get phones banned. Luckily, Facinelli fessed up, explaining the wild situation that led to this happening.

Shortly after Greene mentioned the phone ban, she and Facinelli talked about the life-sized replica of Kirsten Stewart.

After they found that replica, they decided they had to take selfies with it, as the actor explained:

Not to point fingers, but it seems like Facinelli and Greene’s shenanigans could have led to the phone ban. The proof is in the pudding, but that’s just my opinion based on this hilarious anecdote.

However, the hijinks don't stop here. Facinelli also recalled a funny interaction between him and Robert Pattinson during their neck biting scene from the first movie. So, while the films might be dramatic and action-packed, it sounds like making them was a blast.

Twilight has been coming back onto people’s radar recently, especially since the Midnight Sun adaptation was announced. And while I myself am not still a die-hard Twihard, I can admit that this is really big. Also, many fans are still reeling from the big ending twist we were left with and comparing the movies to the books. Plus, there's even Twilight Legos now, so it's clear that there's very much an apitite for these movies, the cast and funny stories like this.

If you want to take a trip down memory lane or binge in wait for Midnight Sun, the Twilight movies are streamable on Peacock. Whether you like it or not, Twilight meant a lot to a lot of people, and it’s good to see the cast come together every so often and share what life was like for them when the cameras weren’t rolling.

Now, I do kind of want to see those photos with the Stewart mannequin...If it got phones banned, it has to be good.

Josh Duhamel and his wife had some incredible news to share with the world. The fan-favorite actor got engaged to former Miss World America Audra Mari in 2022 and married in September of that year. Now, roughly a year later they’re expecting their first child together. Once the baby news was announced, a slew of celebrities chimed in their congratulations. That included Ashley Greene and Duhamel’s famous ex-wife, Fergie. 

Audra Mari and Josh Duhamel announced on Instagram that they'd be welcoming a new member into their family. The Mrs. marked the occasion by dropping in a beautiful photo of the married couple’s ultrasound photo. It's a subtle post but one that surely elicits plenty of excitement. I'm loving this amazing news from the loving couple, as they get to experience parenthood together. And it shouldn't be too surprising that a number of celebrities have shared their congratulations. One celebrity was Twilight’s Ashley Greene, who couldn’t hold back her happiness for the future parents.

CBS also expressed its congratulations for the pair. That's likely because the Transformers alum will be joining the Eye Network's fall 2023 lineup, hosting the new reality TV competition series Buddy Games. Based on the actor's 2019 comedy film, six teams of friends compete with each other in a series of games. It's first episode airs on September 14th. The network replied:

This next praiseworthy comment shows that beauty pageant folks need to stick together. Former Miss Wisconsin USA Alex Wehrley expressed her joy towards this baby news as well. I wouldn’t be surprised if the couple's newborn baby got a sash of their own one day.

Then, there’s also Josh Duhamel’s Las Vegas co-star Jerry O’Connell who sent out his best wishes to him and his wife. 

The one celebrity response that stood out to me the most was Fergie’s. She and Duhamel started dating in 2004 when she and her then-band, The Black Eyed Peas, guest-starred on his show Las Vegas. They got married in 2009 and had a baby boy, Axl, four years later. However, their split was announced in 2017 and they got divorced two years later. Even though their marriage didn't work out, it appears there’s no bad blood between them as Fergie congratulated the couple when they first got engaged. Now, she’s continuing to be a method of support offering her best compliments to the two on their big news.

It’s so beautiful how this family is about to become a whole lot bigger. With a bunch of celebrities offering Josh Duhamel and his wife praise, this new baby is going to be welcomed into a world full of love. Ah, the Twilight movies. These days, it’s a nostalgic moment in pop culture that many of us were fully obsessed with back in the day. And because of the movie adaptation success, audiences fell head over heels for actors like Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart, Taylor Lautner and Ashley Greene. And apparently, we could have also spotted Taylor Swift in The Twilight Saga: New Moon if the movie’s director hadn’t said no to her hopes to be part of the phenomenon. 

Chris Weitz took on the Twilight mantle for its first sequel, New Moon, back in late 2008, where he would go on to bring the franchise’s werewolves to life for the first time alongside Italy’s Volturi. While sitting down with The Twilight Effect Podcast, the director shared one bit during the casting process where he unfortunately had to turn down Taylor Swift. In his words: 

As Weitz explained, he had a connection to Swift, who at the time had just blown up with her debut album, and it was also around this time that her sophomore record Fearless rolled out with hits like “Love Story,” “White Horse’ and “You Belong With Me.” Here’s why the director had to turn her down: 

Chris Weitz made the tough decision of rejecting Taylor Swift from being part of New Moon because he didn’t want audiences to be taken out of the storyline because of a cameo from her. And hey, he’s right, Twilight audiences were also overwhelmingly Swifties, and we would have just lost our minds and forgot Bella was facing some serious heartbreak if that cameo really happened. 

If Taylor Swift had hit her folklore and evermore era sooner, she might have at least been a good fit for the incredible soundtrack which featured Death Cab For Cutie, Muse, Thom Yorke, Bon Iver and Grizzly Bear, among others. At the time, Swift was a pop country star, but in 2020, she recorded a couple songs with Bon Iver. When she released her song “Willow,” many fans felt it reminded them of New Moon’s Volturi. 

Although it’s sad a 19-year-old Taylor Swift didn’t get her Twilight dreams come true, she later starred alongside Taylor Lautner in the 2010 romantic comedy Valentine’s Day, along with being in the movie's soundtrack and dating the actor at the center of Team Jacob for a little while. So maybe she kind of got in on the Twilight action anyway? 

Taylor Swift's music has not only been part of many movies and television shows, the singer has also dipped her toes into acting over the years, such as with Cats, where she went to cat movement school like the Twilight actors. She’s next set to be part of the upcoming 2022 movie with Christian Bale and Margot Robbie, Amsterdam. The singer is clearly doing fine, but Weitz and the cast surely lost out on perhaps becoming besties with T. Swift. 

Can you believe that it's been 14 years since Twilight first debuted in theaters? The feverishly popular film adaptation of Stephenie Meyer's best-selling 2005 vampire-romance novel spawned one of the most popular and lucrative franchises of the past two decades, and many of the actors from this very popular movie have gone on to do many different projects, often thanks to Twilight's success. 

While you likely know what, say, Robert Pattinson or Kristen Stewart are doing nowadays, what about the rest of the cast? What has the Twilight ensemble been up to since The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2 came out back in 2012? Let's explore what the main actors in this famous series of movies have done since their time in Twilight ended.

Kristen Stewart (Bella Swan)

The 17-year-old protagonist of Twilight who falls in love with Edward Cullen over the course of the franchise, Bella Swan, played by Kristen Stewart, was the center of the romantic story. Her relationship with Edward was the crux of the narrative, as well as the spewing battle between Edward and Jacob for her love. 

In the role that turned the actress into a worldwide superstar, Stewart allowed her fame and fortune from this series to propel her career in intriguing directions. Notably, Stewart has starred in dramas both big and small, including Clouds of Sils Maria, Personal Shopper, Certain Women, Billy Lynn's Long Halftime Walk, Equals, and Lizzie, as well as the period comedy Cafe Society and the stoner action-comedy, American Ultra. She’s also starred in films such as Charlie’s Angels, as well as the Hulu original Christmas film, Happiest Season. 

As of late, Stewart starred in the critically-acclaimed Spencer, where she played Princess Diana of Wales, and earned several award nominations and wins - including a nod for the Academy Award for Best Actress. In 2022, her latest film, Crimes of the Future, arrived in theaters. Coming up soon, she’ll be in a new A24 film titled, Love Lies Bleeding.

Robert Pattinson (Edward Cullen)

As a core member of the Olympic coven and the man who steals Bella Swan's heart, Edward Cullen, played by Robert Pattinson, was the male protagonist of The Twilight Saga. And it instantly turned the British actor into a megastar. Though Pattinson has an odd public relationship with the high-volume fandom for the franchise, it paved the way for his daring second-wave career. 

In the years since Twilight wrapped, Pattinson has proven himself in a number of exceptional, challenging performances. Notably, Pattinson has done excellent work in movies like The Rover, The Lost City of Z, Good Time, Damsel, High Life, and The Lighthouse, and he's also done good work in artistic projects like Cosmopolis, Life, The Childhood of a Leader, The King, and more. 

In 2021, Pattinson starred in Christopher Nolan’s Tenet, and made headlines with his performance as Bruce Wayne in The Batman in 2022, a superhero film that’s already getting a sequel. Pattinson is also set to star in another film soon called Mickey 7. 

Taylor Lautner (Jacob Black)

Over the course of The Twilight Saga, Jacob Black, played by Taylor Lautner, went from a good-natured local friend to an object of Bella Swan's loving affection as he and Edward Cullen fought for her heart in the sequels. In New Moon, he phases into a wolf for the first time and this is the start of his transformation as a shape-shifter werewolf. 

While prominent in the series, unlike Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson, his fellow Twilight leads, Lautner hasn't found himself making as many audacious choices as an actor. He has appeared in shows like Scream Queens and Cuckoo. He also headlined the dramatic film, Run the Tide, as well as the action flick, Tracers, and he has provided supporting roles in Adam Sandler comedies like Grown Ups 2 and The Ridiculous Six. 

Most recently in 2022, he appeared in the Netflix original film, Home Team, alongside Kevin James. 

Billy Burke (Charlie Swan)

The Chief of Police in Forks, Washington, where the crux of the Twilight narrative takes place, and the father of Bella Swan, Charlie Swan, played by Billy Burke, is the looming parental figure throughout The Twilight Saga. 

As an actor, Burke has worked primarily in television since Twilight's finale. Notably, he's appeared in shows like Revolution, Chicago P.D., Zoo, Major Crimes, and FBI, among others. He was also in 2016's Light Outs. He had a voice role as Commissioner Gordon in Batman: The Long Halloween in both parts, and has had supporting recurring roles in shows such as Maid and 9-1-1: Lone Star. Coming up, he’s going to appear in a new TV series called Fire Country.

Peter Facinelli (Dr. Carlisle Cullen)

As the founder and leader of the Olympic coven and the adoptive father of Emmett, Alice, Edward, Jasper, Rosaline, and, later, Bella Swan, Dr. Carlisle Cullen, played by Peter Facinelli, serves as the head of the household. Since his days in The Twilight Saga, Facinelli has starred in TV shows like Nurse Jackie, American Odyssey, Supergirl, S.W.A.T., FBI, Magnum P.I., and Glee, and he appeared in films like Gangster Squad, The F**k-It List, The Ravine, Catch the Bullet, Countdown and more.

Outside of acting, Facinelli has also spent more time in the director's chair lately. He made his feature directorial debut with the 2018 comedy Breaking & Exiting. He also recently wrote and helmed the action-mystery thriller, Hour of Lead, which premiered earlier this year. Coming up soon, he’s going to be in the new films, Yesteryear, On Fire and many others. 

Elizabeth Reaser (Esme Cullen)

As the matriarch of the Olympic coven, the wife of Carlisle Cullen and the adoptive mother of Alice, Emmett, Edward, Rosalie, and Jasper, Esme Cullen, played by Elizabeth Reaser, played a substantive role in the Cullen family. 

An Emmy-nominated actress who constantly bounces between screens both big and small, Reaser has appeared in several different projects since her commitments to Twilight ended. Notably, she has appeared in Ryan Murphy’s series, Impeachment: American Crime Story, Law & Order True Crime, Mad Men, True Detective, The Haunting Of Hill House, Easy, The Handmaid's Tale, and the Bonnie & Clyde mini-series. Reaser also played the leading role in the surprisingly good prequel, Ouija: Origin of Evil, and she can be seen in Hello, My Name is Doris, which also starred Sally Field.

Coming up soon, she’s going to be in a new dark fantasy film, called Dark Harvest. 

Ashley Greene (Alice Cullen)

As a precognitive vampire who is known for being sweet and loving, Alice Cullen, played by Ashley Greene, played a dynamic part in The Twilight Saga. In the time since her commitments to the franchise ended, Greene has starred in a good handful of movies, including Bombshell, Kristy, Burying the Ex, Wish I Was Here, CBGB, Urge, Staten Island Summer, In Dubious Battle, Aftermath, One Shot and more.

She also lent her voice to the video game Batman: Arkham Knight, and she had a prominent role in the TV series Rogue.  Coming up, she’s going to star in several new films, including titles such as The Retirement Plan, The Gemini Lounge and more. 

Kellan Lutz (Emmett Cullen)

The husband of Rosalie Hale, the adoptive brother of Edward and the eventual brother-in-law of Bella, Emmet Cullen, played by Kellan Lutz, was a member of the Olympic coven. Since his time in Twilight, Lutz has primarily been seen in movies, including The Expendables 3, Tarzan, Extraction, Speed Kills, What Men Want, and the lead role in The Legend of Hercules. And he has also appeared on the small screen. For instance, Kellan Lutz starred in HBO's The Comeback and made a memorable appearance in the revival season. 

Lutz  has appeared on FBI and the spin-off series, FBI: Most Wanted. Soon, he’s going to star in a few new films such as Come Out Fighting, What Remains, and others.

Nikki Reed (Rosalie Hale)

The adopted sister of Edward Cullen and married to Emmett Cullen, Rosalie has been a vampire since the 1930s and is a member of the Olympic coven. Played by Nikki Reed, the actress/screenwriter previously best known for the 2003 autobiographical drama, Thirteen, which was directed by Catherine Hardwicke (who also helmed the first Twilight), has bounced between films and television since her time in the Twilight Saga came to a close.

On television, Nikki Reed was seen in Sleepy Hollow, Dollface, and V-Wars. Additionally, the actress starred in a few indie movies, including Empire State, Pawn, and Jack Goes Home, which she co-produced. Furthermore, Reed stepped in the director's chair for last year's short film, Andy's Song. 

In her personal life, Nikki Reed separated from her first husband, Paul McDonald, in 2014, and the divorce was finalized in 2015, and she got remarried to Ian Somerhalder that same year. The acting couple share a young daughter together, who was born in 2017, as Reed announced on her Instagram. She’s still very active on social media, and most recently even went onto former Twilight co-star, Ashley Greene’s, podcast, according to her Instagram post.

Jackson Rathbone (Jasper Hale)

As one of the few surviving vampires of the Southern vampire wars, Jasper Hale, played by Jackson Rathbone, later joined the Olympic coven and became the husband of Alice Cullen. Since his commitments to Twilight have ceased, Rathbone's most prominent work has been on the tube in a variety of shows that include Aim High, Finding Carter, White Collar, NTSF: SD: SUV, and The Last Ship. He’s also appeared in a variety of movies such as Mixtape, The Wall of Mexico and more. 

Coming up, Rathbone is going to star in a variety of movies, including Condor’s Nest, Zero Road, and Books & Drinks.

Anna Kendrick (Jessica Stanley)

As Bella Swan's high school best friend, Jessica Stanley, played by Anna Kendrick, plays a relatively minor role in the Twilight proceedings. But over the course of the franchise, Kendrick's career skyrocketed — to the point where she has become arguably as famous (if not more so) than some of her Twilight co-stars. 

Notably after garnering an Oscar nomination for her stellar performance in 2009's Up in the Air, Kendrick has been seen in a variety of movies both big and small. One of the most prominent was her lead role in the Pitch Perfect trilogy, though she has also starred in Into the Woods, Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates, The Accountant, A Simple Favor, and Noelle. Kendrick can be heard in Trolls and it’s sequel,  Trolls World Tour. Kendrick also stepped into television for a little bit with a main role on the HBO Max original show, Love Life. Soon, she will appear in many new movies, such as Alice, Darling, The Dating Game and more. 

In 2016, Anna Kendrick became an author with her memoir, Scrappy Little Nobody. In the book, Kendrick noted that working on these movies (even in a minor capacity) gave her consistent work as the future A-lister continued to push herself into other films, some of which didn't pay her nearly as much. Though in a 2018 tweet, Anna Kendrick claimed (either cheekily or sincerely, it can be hard to tell with her) that she forgot she was in these films.

Out of all these stars, I’m sure that there’s something with them that you have seen in the last few years. And I know no matter what we are going to be seeing a heck of a lot more of them, whether that be in 2022 or beyond.  

Despite the Vampire Diaries franchise coming to an end with the potentially deadly series finale of Legacies, it's no surprise that some former co-stars have remained in contact over the years. Such as it goes for Kayla Ewell, who portrayed Vicki Donavan throughout most of TVD's seasons in one capacity or another. The actress recently gave birth to a baby boy seven weeks ahead of schedule, and Elena Gilbert herself, Nina Dobrev, was quick to offer some congratulatory words, along with former vampire slayer Sarah Michelle Gellar and more!

Kayla Ewell has not been shy about sharing her pregnancy journey with her Instagram followers. Three months prior to giving birth, she broke the news with an announcement of her pregnancy, and she has since been showing off her baby bump, excited to bring another little one into the world. Over the weekend, the actress shared that her baby boy came into the world a full seven weeks early, but luckily for all involved, they're both happy and healthy, and she and her husband “couldn’t be more excited.”

Fans and famous friends were quick to congratulate Ewell on her bundle of joy. Her TVD co-star couldn’t help but comment on the baby’s features before including a secondary post with several smiling-face-with-hearts emojis.

Buffy the Vampire Slayer’s Sarah Michelle Gellar also shared her excitement while putting it out there that she is ready to lend her babysitting talents whenever Kayla Ewell needs them. Considering how cute her son looks by just his wittle-bitty, teensy-weensy hand, I would also want to do the same thing. Here's how Gellar put it, sounding somewhat like a pirate:

Ashley Greene, who most will remember as Alice Cullen in the Twilight franchise, also took the time to congratulate Ewell and share some kind words, saying:

Nina Dobrev wasn’t the only TVD star reaching out, either. Claire Holt, who recently reprised her role as Rebekah Mikaelson on Legacies, responded with a short but sweet congratulatory message:

Gotta love just how many vampire-related celebs took the time to send some love Kayla Ewell's way. Nothing from Interview with a Vampire's Brad Pitt or Tom Cruise yet, but they're probably just busy. 

Premature labor is always a scary thing, though it sounds like Baby Novlan is doing just fine. Kayla Ewell will have her hands full for a while, though with the support she has (and some new and willing nannies), she and husband Tanner Novlan are in great company.

The actress was recently seen as Nora Truman on Roswell, New Mexico in a recurring format. Her last episode on the series was in 2021, so it’s hard to tell if she’ll return again before the show comes to an end later this summer. However, Kayla Ewell will soon be heard on the upcoming comedy podcast Bone. Marry. Bury. alongside Sarah Hyland, Tommy Martinez, Josie Totah, and Harvey Guillén, with the latter being a series regular in FX's vampire comedy What We Do in the Shadows. 

Hopefully, all stays well with Kayla Ewell and her new baby, and hopefully, she calls Nanny Prinze for some help because who wouldn’t want to see Sarah Michelle Gellar in Nanny-mode with her friend’s baby?

Across the five Twilight movies, the baseball scene from the original installment still remains one of the most beloved and most referenced moments in the franchise. (So much so, it was recently recreated for a viral music video). And as Rosalie Cullen herself, Nikki Reed, previously revealed, the Twilight cast actually went to “cat” school to get into character for scenes such as the “Supermassive Black Hole” needle drop. Now, more of her co-stars are reflecting on the unique experience during rehearsals. 

Ashley Greene and Kellan Lutz, who played Alice and Emmett Cullen in the Twilight movies, got to laughing as they reminisced about the cat movement class filmmaker Catherine Hardwicke had them go to to prepare to play vampires. Greene shared her thoughts on the experience with these words: 

The actress reunited with her Twilight brother on her podcast The Twilight Effect, where she's going through the young adult movies with her good friend and Twihard, Melanie Howe. On a recent episode, they brought Kellan Lutz on for a lengthy conversation, during which the actor spoke bluntly about his experience on the franchise and his palpable chemistry with his Rosalie, Nikki Reed. Here’s Lutz’s own thoughts on the “cat” training the stars underwent: 

Though as the star admitted, he kind of stayed away from the cat training because the Twilight author compared Emmett Cullen to a bear in one excerpt. He used that detail to imagine his character as another animal. From the outside looking in, it’s pretty funny to think that the cast learned how to behave like cats in order to behave like vampires. But as Ashley Greene realized later in her career, a ton of actors do it to get into character. 

For example, her former co-star, Robert Pattinson, just played The Batman and hilariously shared on Jimmy Kimmel Live! that he looked up bat fights when preparing to play the superhero. His Catwoman, Zoë Kravitz also shared that she “hung out with cats a lot” ahead of playing the role in order to really embody her character. And of course, many of us remember the 2019 movie Cats, in which actors such as Taylor Swift, Rebel Wilson, James Corden and Idris Elba went to cat school as well to embody to play the cat-human hybrids in the musical many found to be “nightmare fuel” unfortunately due to the CGI design. 

Cat classes aside, it’s great to see some of the Twilight cast back together nearly a decade after the last movie premiered. You can rewatch the vampire franchise now with a Hulu subscription. 

The Twilight saga started as a rather small book adaptation, but skyrocketed into a five-movie franchise and phenomenon that remains relevant and popular today. However, what was it like for the stars at the center of these films? Kellan Lutz recently got honest about playing Emmett Cullen for five years of his career, and apparently it wasn’t all sparkles. 

Twilight star Ashley Greene, who played Alice Cullen in the movies, recently launched her own podcast The Twilight Effect with her friend and Twihard Melanie Howe. On the latest episode, Kellan Lutz was brought on as a guest, and he did a deep dive into what it was like to star in the franchise. During the interview, Lutz got real about the downsides to the role with these words: 

Kellan Lutz spoke openly about what it was really like on the set of the Twilight films as they were given bigger budgets, and the truth of the matter was that he and much of the cast spent a lot more time in their trailers waiting than filming scenes for the movies. The actor reunited with his co-star and longtime friend Ashley Greene to talk about the good times, of course, but it’s really eye-opening to get a sense of why some of the cast grew weary of the movies. 

Throughout the interview, Lutz made it clear about how much he loved playing Emmett. The actor was a supporting character in the franchise, but he really bonded with his castmates, including the Rosalie to his Emmett, Nikki Reed. The actor has even shown some support prior to returning to the franchise for an adaptation of Midnight Sun. 

According to his recent words, being part of Twilight was never about the money for Kellan Lutz, and he almost walked away from it after he felt like he’d lost some of his passion for being an actor. However, looking back, he’s really happy he remained a part of it. Lutz has since had a fulfilling career appearing in projects such as in FBI: Most Wanted, along with recently welcoming his first child with his wife last year within his personal life. 

Greene also revealed that she was in a “similar situation” as the Twilight movies started to progress, but ultimately decided that the fans would be “devastated” if she quit the movies before their conclusion. Lutz agreed that doing it for the fans was also the biggest pull that kept him aboard as well. He also talked about how increased security and paparazzi as the movies continued was also a challenge, even on set, as it actually stifled the cast being able to connect with one another.

Where has the time gone? In November, it will have been a decade since the Twilight cast last walked the carpet for the franchise. In the ten years since then, many of the stars have found their longterm partners and even started families. That being said, Kellan Lutz doesn’t mind reminiscing about the good old days with his former work wife, Nikki Reed - even the time they filmed that "sensual" kiss for Breaking Dawn.

Kellan Lutz and Nikki Reed played vampire couple Emmett Cullen and Rosalie Hale in all five Twilight movies. And apparently, the chemistry was as palpable on set as it looked on screen. As Lutz recently reflected: 

When the actor guested on his co-star Ashley Greene’s new podcast The Twilight Effect, he was asked about his chemistry with his on-screen girlfriend. As he recalled, they only shared a kiss in one of the Breaking Dawn movies, during which he felt like the co-stars especially got to know each other better as well. He continued with these words: 

During the conversation, Ashley Greene also pointed out that just about every acting couple on the movie franchise had real chemistry, including her and Jackson Rathbone, who played Greene’s partner Jasper Hale. Greene admitted she had “such a crush” on her co-star, too. 

Kellan Lutz also revealed at one point he had a thing for Ashley Greene before she became “one of the guys” on set. Greene shared that she thinks the pair “pretty quickly” moved to being friends, which she’s totally fine with because she’s able to remain friends with each other and other castmates. By remaining more like friends or family with one another, Greene and Lutz bonded on being able to “be there” for one another and ask each other for advice during their mega stardom. 

Of course, Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson, who shared an interesting audition experience, were the hottest couple on the Twilight franchise and dated throughout the movies. Unfortunately for them, that also meant there was an added spotlight on them, and they were constantly the object of paparazzi’s affection. 

After the franchise ended, Kristen Stewart has found love in Dylan Meyer, who she is engaged to be married to. Kellan Lutz is married as well and welcomed his first daughter a little over a year ago. Nikki Reed is married to Vampire Diaries actor Ian Somerhalder, and they have a daughter as well. Meanwhile, Ashley Greene has been married to Paul Khoury since 2018 and announced last week she is pregnant with her first child. 

As it turns out, there are a lot of happy endings for the Twilight cast, even if they weren't actually with each other. Sure, it's fun to relive their steamy moments on camera, but it's great knowing many of them have found that special someone. This November marks ten years since the final Twilight film hit theaters. A decade later, the mania around the vampire love story continues. As Robert Pattinson so eloquently stated recently, “It’s not even cool to be a [Twilight] hater anymore.” As even more audiences get hooked on how the lion fell in love with the lamb, Team Alice is still going strong, per Ashley Greene. In fact, many fans have referred to her character as their "gay awakening."

The star's lovable Alice Cullen had awesome precognitive abilities, a bubbly personality and was the object of affection of many queer kids, who skipped picking between Team Edward and Team Jacob for Team Alice. And given all the drama the vampire and werewolf put poor Bella Swan through, Alice would have objectively treated her like more of a queen if Stephenie Meyer had explored the storyline romantically. 

With a decade between playing Alice in the franchise, Ashley Greene is set to host her own podcast, The Twilight Effect, which focuses on her experience working on the movies. While speaking to Insider about fans approaching her now, she shared her feelings about how her character has been received by gay fans:

Ashley Greene is all about Alice Cullen being a gay icon for the young women who initially found themselves attracted to the character aand recent fans getting hooked on the series. As the actress shared, she wouldn’t get approached about being part of people’s “gay awakening” when the movies first hit theaters but, these days, fans are more open about it. Greene said she can “fully recognize how and why” Alice has been that character for some. 

Twilight has become one of many movies/television shows that LGBTQ+ people credit for helping them discover their sexual identities. Other examples are Buffy the Vampire Slayer, the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise, Star Wars, Kill Bill and the The Last Airbender franchise. The common denominator seems to be a lot of hot people placed together, and the vampire franchise definitely has that two-fold. Greene also shared her reaction to the franchise still being relevant as well: 

Sounds like not even Alice Cullen could have predicted the Twilight phenomenon would still be pulsating in 2022. Ashley Greene’s The Twilight Effect will certainly keep the conversation rolling, considering the actress will be reminiscing about the franchise with her best friend Melanie "Mel" Howe. She'll also be reuniting with some other castmates to talk about their experiences. The actress has already hinted at some “drama” on set at the time. And maybe she'll go even deeper into her character's new status among queer franchise devotees.

You can also look out for the actress in a number of upcoming movies including The Wrong Place and The Retirement Plan some time this year. 

Every so often a young adult franchise will come to the public eye and instantly become a sensation. Twilight was certainly in that category, both the books and five-film movie franchise. That includes Alice actress Ashley Greene, who recently reflected on drama from the set.

Actress Ashley Greene played future-seer Alice in all five Twilight movies, becoming a fan favorite character in the process. While the Cullen actors formed a family on screen, that doesn’t mean that there weren’t clashes on the set over the years. Greene is starting her own podcast about her experience in that vampirical property, and recently spoke about the drama that inevitably occurred on the set. As she put it,

There you have it. It sounds like Ashley Greene is able to really reflect on what it was like working on the Twilight movies, which happened in quick succession. And while there was indeed some drama for those at Forks, that’s to be expected given the workload and the age of the actors at the time. 

Ashley Greene’s comments to People come as she’s publizing her upcoming Twilight podcast, titled The Twilight Effect, which will recap her years playing Alice Cullen. That podcast will presumably include more specific details about the drama and feuds that occurred on set, as she didn’t name names yet. But given the massive popularity of the movies, that no doubt added pressure to the situation.

While specifics of the Twilight drama remain a mystery, there’s one aspect of the franchise that likely caused added tension: the relationship and mega fame of Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart. The two actors made countless headlines throughout the course of their relationship, which could have added a unique type of pressure. After all, the paparazzi constantly followed the former couple while they were still together.

Later in that same chat with People, Ashley Greene went on to explain some of the goals behind her new Twilight podcast. Specifically, she’s looking forward to reuniting with her co-stars, who have their own recollection of those years on set. As she put it,

Considering how Twilight has remained a part of pop culture, smart money says plenty of fans are going to tune in to hear Ashley Greene and company recall their time in the franchise.

It looks like another thunderstorm just stopped by in Forks, Washington because Alice and Emmett Cullen are back in their uniforms and ready to hit some home runs. Ashley Greene and Kellan Lutz, who played Alice and Emmett Cullen in the Twilight saga from 2008 to 2012 across the five films of the vampire saga, reunited, and it feels so good to see them back in character, even if briefly.

In all honesty, for a moment I thought this was a throwback photo, but no, it’s Alice and Emmett in 2021 still lurking in the forest in baseball gear. The actors, who played siblings for five years, looked happier than ever to be reunited and in costume. Kellan Lutz and Ashley Greene got back into character for a short parody video for Matt Cutshall’s emo’s not dead series. Check it out: 

In the video, Matt Cutshall transforms into an emo look on the fly when he gets the wrong idea about his girlfriend (played by his real partner Arielle Vandenberg) and another man. Cutshall dons a long black wig, thick eyeliner and a black sweatshirt, and goes full “emo” before running into Emmett and Alice somewhere in Forks. 

Cutshall and Kellan Lutz’s Emmett take part in a short stunt fight scene before Ashley Greene comes out as Alice to assure Emmett that Cutshall is not a vampire, just very emo. It’s a funny and pretty random reunion for the two Twilight actors, but it is great to see them back as the vampires we’ll always remember them as. Their mutual co-star, Nikki Reed, who played Rosalie Hale in the series, got into character in the comment section:  

The pure nostalgia in this moment is through the roof! Of course, Twilight was smack dab in the middle of many people’s “emo phase” at the time. The original movie included some music who were part of that scene, with Paramore writing two songs just for the film. It’s a short parody for the actor’s to get back into character, but it goes to show these two can still embody these roles; not unlike their vampire characters, it’s as if they didn’t even age. 

Kellan Lutz is married to Brittany Lutz and is raising his first daughter, Ashtyn, who is nearing eight months old. Ashley Greene is married to Australian/Lebanese TV personality Paul Khoury. Both actors are still finding projects to act in, with Greene most recently working with Harry Potter’s Tom Felton on a movie and asking questions about whether Malfoy or Alice would outsmart the other. 

Obviously seeing them back together reminds us about how much we miss the Cullens and Kristen Stewart’s Bella Swan. Breaking Dawn Part 2 may have concluded the franchise, but we have hope that someday Stephenie Meyer will at least write her planned sequel to her last Twilight book. In the meantime, the movies’ Edward Cullen is about to star in The Batman, and K-Stew has taken on Princess Diana for Spencer, coming to theaters November 5.

The fandoms collided at a time when social media and online forums were just finding their stride too, making them the perfect young adult properties to spread like wildfire. The Potterheads were all about discussing Hogwarts Houses whilst Twi-hards got into Team Edward vs. Team Jacob debates. What a time it was! But hold on… Tom Felton is channeling the era as you read!

The 33-year-old actor shared a fan edit on Instagram of Draco and Alice going head-to-head in a duel in Hogwarts, along with using the hashtag #Dralice and #Alico. Is that a coupling the interwebs has been rooting for? Who knows. Anyway, Ashley Greene actually started the whole thing when she shared a video on her Instagram story where she said the following:

In the video, she tagged Tom Felton and placed up a poll for fans to interact with regarding whether Draco or Alice would win in a battle. Here’s how the poll is shaking out:

That’s a close battle right there! At the time of this article, Draco was winning by a smidge, but given that margin of error, perhaps it’d be too close and they’d decide to shake on it and settle for a crossover friendship. The reason why Ashley Greene got talking about Tom Felton is because she is currently working with the actor for a movie called Some Other Woman. The movie will be a psychological thriller about a woman who gets whisked away to a tropical island and the other woman (Greene) who begins to replace her.

It’ll be loads of fun to see Ashley Greene and Tom Felton share the screen together whenever the film comes out. They’ll surely have a lot in common to discuss on set given their experiences working in major YA franchises and working alongside Robert Pattinson. (Remember: the Twilight actor was Cedric Diggory in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire.) Of course, now we're also daydreaming what I'd be like to actually see Draco and Alice interact in some sort of fantasy crossover because it'd most certainly be epic.

In my opinion, it's a no-brainer: Alice would win. For one, she's an immortal vampire with hundreds of years on Draco, and her wit and ability to see into the future would fly circles around his dark magic. You can think about it more as you stream all the Harry Potter films over on Peacock and every Twilight movie on Netflix.

OK, even if that seemingly random question did not pass your mind before, I would be willing to bet that the thought of Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson in the Marvel movies is living rent free in your imagination now that I have introduced the idea, huh? Kristen Stewart - Dead Girl

As Bella Swan, Kristen Stewart finally got to see things from the perspective of a vampire in The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2 (the fifth installment of the franchise), but has yet to see things from the perspective of the ghostly apparitions that haunted her in both the 2007 supernatural thriller The Messengers and Personal Shopper in 2017. To give her that chance, I would cast her as the aptly named “Dead Girl,” who joined the X-Force after her murder activated latent powers such as immortality, regrowing severed limbs, and communicating with the deceased.

Robert Pattinson - Wolverine

With Marvel Studios preparing to reboot the X-Men movies, everyone is curious who will take over for Hugh Jackman as Wolverine. I think anyone who has paid attention to the gruff, action star reputation that Robert Pattinson has developed (most notably with 2017’s Good Time) since his curtain call as Edward Cullen can see why he could be a great fit for the Adamantium-clawed, cigar-chomping, Canadian mutant. Plus, the English star of Matt Reeves’ upcoming The Batman would certainly not be the first to exist in both DC movies and Marvel movies at the same time.

Taylor Lautner - Namor The Sub-Mariner

Many were disappointed that Taylor Lautner did not appear in Netflix’s We Can Be Heroes to reprise the role that made him a promising child star before playing the lycanthropic Jacob Black in Twilight made him a sex symbol: Sharkboy from The Adventures of Sharkboy and Lavagirl in 3-D from 2004. The best possible way that he could make up for this absence is to bring another aquatic superhero to the big screen for the very first time: Namor, a Marvel Comics Atlantean who actually predates DC’s Aquaman by a few years.

Ashley Greene - Jean Grey

Someone who has shared the screen with Marvel stars (such as Sebastian Stan in The Apparition) but has never played a superhero (not counting when she voiced Barbara Gordon in the animated Batman: Gotham Knight) is Ashley Greene. The actress would finally be able to bridge that gap in a live-action setting if she was cast as one of the most popular X-Men characters, Jean Grey - known for having psychic powers, similar to her character in the Twilight movies, Alice Cullen.

Jackson Rathbone - Hydro-Man

Alice Cullen’s husband, Jasper Cullen, is played in the Twilight movies by Jackson Rathbone, whose other best known role is Sokka in The Last Airbender from 2010. Considering how poorly received director M. Night Shyamalan’s live-action adaptation of the popular animated series was, I would say that we should give the actor another chance to bring a character with water-based powers to play on the big screen, such as the Spider-Man villain Hydro-Man.

Kellan Lutz - Sentry

You could argue Twilight’s Kellan Lutz has already played a Marvel character since the publisher did give Hercules his own comic book and Lutz played Zeus’ son in 2014’s The Legend of Hercules. However, that movie is not considered a career highlight for him, but some Marvel fans do believe the muscle-bound Emmett Cullen actor would make a great Sentry: a former meth addict who gained the power of a million exploding suns after ingesting a special serum.

Peter Facinelli - Purple Man

The patriarch of the Cullen Clan, Dr. Carlisle Cullen, is played by Peter Facinelli, who actually has played a comic book character before: Maxwell Lord on the Arrow-verse’s Supergirl series. Many comic book readers cite the Marvel equivalent of this power-hungry DC villain (whom Pedro Pascal played in Wonder Woman 1984) as Zebediah Kilgrave, who never became his aptly named alter ego Purple Man when David Tennant portrayed him on Jessica Jones. I’m not sure that otherwise acclaimed Netflix series is MCU still canon anyway and I bet Facinelli would not say no to giving Kilgrave a proper, purple portrayal.

Elizabeth Reaser - Invisible Woman

The matriarch of the Cullen Clan, Esme Cullen, is played by Elizabeth Reaser, who has played the motherly figure role many times (mostly in her collaborations with Mike Flanagan), but never as strongly as her Twilight movies character. A Marvel character widely noted as a strong motherly figure is Susan Richards (née Storm), also known as the force field-generating Invisible Woman when fighting with the Fantastic Four. All Reaser would need to better assume the role is some blonde hair dye.

Nikki Reed - Lilith Drake

The only member of the Twilight cast who later returned to the world of vampires is Nikki Reed, who would join the cast of the short-lived Netflix original series V Wars - which also starred her husband Ian Somerhalder of The Vampire Diaries fame. Well, it sounds to me like the actress really enjoys sharing the screen with bloodsuckers, playing a bloodsucker on screen, or living with one in real life, so maybe she would feel right at home if she was cast in a Marvel movie (Mahershala Ali’s Blade reboot, perhaps?) as Dracula’s own daughter, Lilith Drake.

Anna Kendrick - Lady Deadpool

Fans have been pulling for Anna Kendrick (who played Bella’s friend Jessica Stanley in Twilight) to join the MCU as Squirrel Girl for years, but it might be just a little late for the actress to play a chipper, unbeatable superhero commonly depicted as a teenager. In fact, with her sharp wit, previous action movie experience, and the recent introduction of the Marvel multiverse, I think casting her as Lady Deadpool (a female, alternate reality counterpart to Ryan Reynolds’ “Merc with a Mouth”) would be an absolutely dynamite choice.

With how many veterans of the Twilight cast have already gone onto star in superhero movies, it may only a matter of time before all of time make their comic book character debuts. Let’s wait and see if any of our suggestions make the cut.

Just a few months before Bella Hadid unfollowed Selena Gomez for dating her ex, Rihanna did the same thing with Jennifer Lopez. After both JLo and Drake posted a cutesy photo of the two of them cuddled up on a couch together, Rihanna showed what may have been her disapproval by hitting the unfollow button on Lopez's social media accounts,. Drake and Rihanna had been heavily rumored to be in an on-again, off-again relationship for years.

There's no need to be petty when you're the mother of Beyonce, but that's what it looked like Tina Knowles was doing when she liked an Instagram comment that ridiculed Jennifer Hudson's singing. Knowles later cleared up the snafu, saying that her finger slipped and the like was purely accidental, and going on to say that she loves Jennifer Hudson. Nicki Minaj doesn't tag Demi Lovato in photo

The 2016 Met Gala sparked some online drama between Nicki Minaj and Demi Lovato. Minaj uploaded a photo from the event of herself posing alongside a designer friend and Lovato, but only tagged the designer, E! News noted. Lovato responded by commenting on the shot with a laughing emoji, peace sign, and thumbs up, and then went on to share the photo --- which featured Minaj giving her what looks like a side-eyed glare --- on her own account, saying that the image summed up her night and that she didn't enjoy the Met Gala. It sounds like Lovato is commenting on a feud with Minaj, but Lovato later added a clarification to her Instagram comment, saying that she loved how Minaj was looking at her and was actually just trying to make a joke at how awkward she herself looked in the photo.

Taylor Swift's squad unfollows Demi Lovato

Poor Demi --- not even a week after her social media mix-up with Nicki Minaj she became the catalyst for another bit of Instagram shade, this time from Taylor Swift and her famous circle of friends. After Lovato posted a photo of herself with Hailey Baldwin, who has a rough relationship with Swift and her squad, Lovato reportedly lost some famous followers on her Instagram account, including Swift, Karlie Kloss, Selena Gomez, Gigi Hadid, and more, according to Seventeen.

Katy Perry dances to Taylor Swift diss

It is no secret that Katy Perry and Taylor Swift aren't exactly best buddies, so when Perry attended a Kanye West concert in 2016 (another celebrity who had some public friction with Swift) Perry took the opportunity to throw what looked like a little bit of shade. Swift and West had gotten into a very public battle over one of the lyric's in the rapper's song "Famous," in which he calls out Taylor by name and says he was responsible for her fame. When West performed the track at his concert, Perry filmed herself dancing to the verse in question and posted it to her Instagram.

Paris Hilton likes a shady Kim Kardashian post

Speaking of making people famous and Kanye West, Paris Hilton is often credited with paving the way for Kim Kardashian's brand of reality television stardom, and according to a post that Hilton herself liked on Instagram in 2016, the hotel heiress think that Kardashian wouldn't be a star if it weren't for her, Us Weekly reported. A meme posted by one of Hilton's fans photoshopped Hilton's face next to West and Kardashian from West's music video for "Famous," and written above them was a parody of the song lyrics: "I made his bitch famous." But it doesn't seem like the photo made Kardashian angry if she noticed it --- the reality star actually took a break from her social media hiatus a few months later to follow Hilton on Instagram.

Selena Gomez likes various posts dissing Justin Bieber

Although she dated Justin Bieber for over five years, there was no love lost on Selena Gomez's side after their break-up in 2016. When Bieber moved on to dating Sofia Richie, Gomez had some fun on Instagram, apparently liking various posts that dissed Bieber and celebrated Gomez.

Rihanna likes a post dissing Beyonce

Two of the most celebrated albums of 2016 came from Rihanna and Beyonce, but only Beyonce's Lemonade managed to get an Album of the Year nomination from the Grammys. Rihanna fan vented about his anger that ANTI didn't get the big nomination, and accused the awards show of purposefully short-changing Rihanna in order to keeping the spotlight on Beyonce. Surprisingly, Rihanna actually liked the shady post, but as Us Weekly reported, later went on to clarify that she hadn't read the full caption and didn't approve of the Instagram user pitting black women against one another.

Joe Jonas gave Reddit users everything they could have wanted in an AMA in 2016, unabashedly discussing various intimate details about his private life. One of those stories was about how he lost his virginity, which he said was to a past girlfriend named Ashley. It didn't take long for fans to realize he was talking about Twilight actress Ashley Greene, whom Jonas dated years back. Jonas opened up to Entertainment Tonight this weekend about why he decided to get so candid and personal during the AMA, saying that he simply values honesty.

The whole story began last Tuesday, when Joe Jonas began answering fan questions on Reddit to promote a new music video called "Body Moves" by his band DNCE. While most celebrities choose to give brief answers to simple questions and avoid the outlandish, invasive questions during AMAs, it was immediately evident that Jonas wasn't shying away from anything.

One fan asked the singer who he lost his virginity to, and surprisingly, Joe Jonas obliged with a response. While he didn't specifically name Ashley Greene, he very obviously pointed to her as the woman with whom he first had sex, saying that "it was this girl named Ashley. You can probably just Google it." Sure enough, one Google search of "Joe Jonas Ashley" takes you straight to Jonas' 2010 relationship with Ashley Greene.

Though Ashley Greene didn't directly respond to the story, most fans are taking an Instagram photo of the words "Class is timeless" that she posted a couple days after the AMA as her upset response. You probably best recognize Greene from her supporting role as the vampire Alice Cullen in the Twilight film series.

Joe Jonas's sex life has been a topic of particular interest to some fans since his teenage years in the boy band the Jonas Brothers. As Disney-affiliated musicians, the three brothers famously wore purity rings to their concerts and public events, signifying that they would remain virgins until getting married. The only brother to remain true to the pact was eldest brother Kevin Jonas, who married former hairdresser Danielle Deleasa in 2009. Youngest brother Nick Jonas has also revealed that he chose to discontinue his purity ring after losing his virginity years back.

William Shakespeare's Romeo & Juliet has long inspired filmmakers with its tale of star-crossed lovers. But the director of Gremlins has a new take on this old school romance, and it involves the financial crisis, vampires, and werewolves. Because obviously?

THR reports out of the Rome Film Festival that Joe Dante has announced plans to make Ombra Amore, a romance that's title loosely translates to Shadow Love. The undergrounds of Rome will play home to the film which is a modern take on Shakespeare's Romeo & Juliet, set in financial crisis afflicted Italy and peopled by werewolves and vampires.

Ombra Amore will be made as part of The Rome Film Festival's New Cinema Network special "Great Beauties" section, meant to draw a spotlight on films shot within Italy. Dante is elated about landing Rome as the film's location, saying in a statement, "Rome. The Eternal City of Gods and Monsters, where a she-wolf suckled Romulus and Remus. And what could be more eternal than un-death?" Yet his werewolf will be no she.

Instead of Romeo, Ombra Amore has Peter, described as "a werewolf whose pack is a crew of hotheaded financial traders responsible for Italy's current economic crisis." Conversely, Peter's Juliet is Maggie, a vampire whose aristocratic family is on the brink of financial collapse because of these damned avaricious werewolves. Is it just us, or does this sound like Underworld meets Wall Street?

Ombra Amore will be Joe Dante's follow-up to the horror-comedy Burying the Ex, which made its world premiere last weekend at the Venice Film Festival. It seems a suitably sick prelude to Ombra Amore as this freaky film fest pick follows a couple where boy meets girl, girl dies, girl comes back from the grave as a zombie. Only Lovers Left Alive's Anton Yelchin, Twilight's Ashley Greene and True Detective's Alexandra Daddario star.

Interestingly, Shock Til You Drop points out that Ombra Amore itself has earned a second life. Back in 2011, the film was known as Monster Love, and its Romeo was a dog walker whose meet-cute with his Juliet involved her failed suicide attempt. That script was penned by Greg Pak, best known or penning Robot Stories and Planet Hulk. But no mention of Pak is made in Ombra Amore. So it's unclear how much of this compelling storyteller's take will be left by the time this version lenses.

In the wee hours of the morning on Friday, Twilight star Ashley Greene, her boyfriend and her brother were sleeping soundly when a fire broke out. The three humans raced out of the apartment, but Greene’s two dogs were trapped inside and one pup didn’t make it out safely. As it turns out, a candle was the culprit of the big blaze that wrecked the star’s condo and took the life of her dog.

Celebrity fires have taken down some beautiful homes and put some beautiful families in danger. Country singer Trace Adkins lost his home to a fire in 2011, and is now fighting for the Red Cross on Celebrity Apprentice to help pay it forward since the charity took his family in during their emergency. Earlier this year, The Talk’s Sharon Osbourne spoke out to talk about the dangers candles can cause after her house caught on fire thanks to leaving one of those little suckers lit. Greene is by no means the first person to make a candle mistake, but the devastation the fire caused to her home and her pets is one of the saddest I’ve encountered.

TMZ actually managed to get their hands on some pictures from the fire, so if you’re feeling like having an emotional moment you can check them out. Greene’s condo is located in a large building with other residents, and at the time of this report, three other people in Greene’s building were found to be injured due to the fire. Incidents like these should really serve to be a reminder that candles should not be left burning under any circumstance. Luckily, no human lives were taken because of the fire and our condolences go out to the actress who lost one of her beloved dogs and anyone else whose life was touched by the fire.

With Breaking Dawn – Part 2 bringing a close to the cross-demographic behemoth franchise that has long dominated the box office, the cast of Twilight is now seeking to shape their careers in the shadows of the characters that made them famous. For raven-haired ingénue Ashley Greene, this means soldiering down a path of horror she began in 2008 with a small role in the slasher comedy Otis. Since then, she's played the lead in the serial killer thriller Summer's Blood and the college-set ghost tale The Apparition, and so her next possible project seems a natural fit.

The Wrap reports Greene is being considered for a role in The Weinstein Company's soon-to-shoot horror feature that was previously titled Kristy, but now boasts the more enticing and twisted title Satantic.

Recently, rising starlet Haley Bennett had signed on to the film, and at the time producers described the flick as a psychological thriller in the vein of Rosemary's Baby that follows a college student who is stalked by a violent gang when she stays behind on her deserted campus over Thanksgiving break. But in this most recent casting update it appears Bennett is not totally alone on campus as the latest plot synopsis mentions "a group of college students" under attack. Of these, one girl (Kristy) leads the charge on their fight for survival and a quest to unmask their mysterious tormenters. As this point it is unclear which of these actresses might play the lead, though her earlier casting suggests it is Bennett.

Scripted by Vanishing on 7th Street scribe Anthony Jaswinski, Satantic will be helmed by Donkey Punch director Oliver Blackburn. Production on the film is slated to begin in New Orleans in mid-November, and will last through much of December.

Ashley Greene has already gotten involved in numerous non-vampire related projects amidst her involvement in the ever popular and soon-to-be-ending Twilight Saga. This includes a handful of episodes of ABC's short-lived period drama Pan Am, in which she played Amanda Mason for the latter part of the series' brief run. The 60's seemed to suit her nicely as far as the costumes, hair and make-up. This new role will haver her visiting later decades.

Variety is reporting that Greene has nabbed the lead in Randall Miller's upcoming CBGB, a film that tells the story about the New York City music club once known to play host to up-and-coming punk and New Wave bands back in its earlier, more successful years. Playing Lisa Kristal, daughter of CBGB owner Hilly Krystal (played by Alan Rickman), Greene's character is described as "a fiery young woman who frequently clashes with her father," during her younger years. At some point, she ends up working as the business manager of the club and later attends law school in an effort to help keep the place running. The real Lisa Kristal (now known as Lisa Kristal Burgman) is actually a co-producer on the film and controls the estate.

In addition to Rickman, Greene joins previously cast Johnny Galecki, Malin Ackerman and Rupert Grint in the film. This certainly sounds like an interesting part for Greene to tackle, especially following her recurring role as Alice Cullen in the Twilight films, the last of which will arrive in theaters this fall. She also has a couple of other things in the works, including the lead in Todd Lincoln's The Apparition, a horror due out later this summer.

Americana, the drama pilot over at ABC that has already filled two of its starring roles, can add a vampire to the roster. But she’s a really nice vampire. She’ll even go by the same name as her role in the Twilight franchise. Ashley Greene, who plays Bella-loving sister to Edward Cullen, Alice, in the films, will once again play a character named Alice.

The Hollywood Reporter reports that Greene has signed on for the pilot to play the role that has been part of every description of the project to date. The drama is about a venerable family fashion house run by patriarch Robert Soulter (Anthony LaPaglia has been tapped for the role) that finds its world shaken by the arrival of a new designer. Said designer will be played by Ashley Greene. Also recently cast as one of Soulter’s fashionista daughters is Emilie de Ravin of Lost fame. Natalie Mendoza and Ken Olin have also nabbed roles in the pilot. Philip Noyce of Revenge will be directing.

Although she’s best known for her role as the super sweet vampire in the Twilight saga, Greene has been moving into television with a recurring role on ABC’s Pan Am. She’s also completed filming on the upcoming movie The Apparition. With the final chapter in the Twilight saga hitting theaters in November, soon Greene – and the rest of us – will be free of Bella and Edward. Americana might just be the new saga she becomes a part of instead.

As if it isn’t trying enough to make it in the acting world; even with success in the field having appeared on shows like Without a Trace, The Closer and Raising the Bar, Heath Freeman decided it was time to call the shots and go to work for himself. Along with the help of his brother, Brandon and Anthony Burns, Freeman went to work on a script called Skateland. However, Freeman’s work wasn’t complete once the script was locked and neither was his collaborators’. All three men assumed producing positions, Burns got behind the lens to direct and Freeman in front of it.

The film takes place in a small Texas town in the 80s. Shiloh Fernandez stars as Ritchie, a long time Skateland employee who has a tough time moving on when he learns the roller rink is due to shut down. His sister, Mary (Haley Ram), and friend, Michelle (Ashley Greene), see this as the perfect time for Richie to finally break away and live up to his potential, but making the transition isn’t easy especially with an influence like Freeman’s character. He plays Brent, a former aspiring pro motorcycle rider whose hopes are dashed by an accident. Now, he’s back in town and all that he has is what he left behind – booze, his buddies and his talent for picking up high school girls.

Skateland was quite the undertaking for Freeman in every way possible. Not only was this an entirely new experience for Freeman in terms of writing and producing, but Brent was one of his most significant big screen roles yet. However, with good friends, family and talented filmmakers by his side, Freeman dove in headfirst and brought his story to life. In honor of the film’s May 13th release, Freeman sat down to tell us all about the entire process from joining forces with his brother and old pal to balancing all three of his duties and what’s next for his production company, Freeman Film. Miley Cyrus's continued efforts at world domination rage on despite the end of Hannah Montana, and now Lionsgate is getting in on a few of those Cyrus family dollars. According to Deadline the studio has picked up the rights to the comedy LOL, which was produced independently by Mandate Pictures.

The film is a remake of the 2008 French film Laughing Out Loud from the same director, Lisa Azuelos, who also adapted her own screenplay. Cyrus plays a high school girl dumped by her boyfriend for being too sexually inexperienced, with Twilight's Ashley Greene playing her rival, Demi Moore as Cyrus's mom, Marlo Thomas as her grandmother, and Thomas Jane as a new love interest for Moore's character. There's a whole network of friends for both the high schoolers and the grown-ups that you can read about in our earlier article here.

Ready to be drowned in teenage comedy stereotypes? I hope so because according to Coming Soon, LOL has officially gone into production. Just a month ago we got a taste of what’s to come when we first heard that Twilight’s Ashley Greene joined the cast. Major adolescent draw. Also on board? The teen queen herself, Miley Cyrus. Even with Demi Moore’s name on the roster it’s still quite tempting to dismiss this one off as a formulaic high school drama. The official synopsis doesn’t help, but the new additions to the cast might.

Catch all of those added names there? We reported on Thomas’ casting a few weeks back, but Douglas Booth, Adam Sevani, George Finn, Ashley Hinshaw, Lina Esco, Tanz Watson, Thomas Jane, Jay Hernandez, Austin Nichols, Gina Gershon, Fisher Stevens and Nora Dunn are all new to the production. The younger cast members are basically unknowns expect for Sevani who you might recognize from Step Up 2: The Streets and can catch in the upcoming installment, Step Up 3D. I don’t care if it means this movie comes with a corny prom dance routine, I wouldn’t mind seeing Sevani showing off his skills.

The adult ensemble, however, is full of famous faces and quite impressive. Jane is always a pleasure to look at as is Hernandez, and Moore has the pleasure of spending some time with both. Her character’s situation basically sounds like a screen version of her Willis-to-Kutcher swap. I lost a lot of faith in Nichols after The Informers, but the guy still rocks on One Tree Hill, so I can’t hold it against him. As for Gershon, I’m not familiar with much of her on screen work, but did happen to catch her performance in Bye Bye Birdie on Broadway. The show sucked, but she wasn’t half bad. Lastly there’s Stevens and Dunn who are probably the least familiar nowadays, but have delivered some impressive pieces in the past, my favorite of which are Super Mario Brothers (yes, I loved it as a kid and still do) and Three Kings respectively.

Perhaps we shouldn’t be writing this one off just yet. Plus it might be wise to check out the 2008 French version before passing too much judgment on this American remake.

A movie called LOL and starring Miley Cyrus is already about as teenybopper as something could possibly get, but add in a Twilight star and you've got pretty much a perfect storm. According to THR, Ashley Green-- a.k.a. Alice Cullen-- will be joining the comedy to play a high school bad girl opposite Cyrus's character, who is dumped by her boyfriend (George Finn) for being too sexually inexperienced. Thomas Jane has also signed on as a new boyfriend for Cyrus's mom (Demi Moore), who is struggling with a divorce.

LOL is a remake of the French comedy of the same name, and director Lisa Azuelos will be remaking her own film in English. That's a tricky strategy that could pay off or could not, especially because Cyrus, talented a singer as she may be, is typically an actress who benefits from strong direction. Then again, people love her in pretty much anything, so maybe Azuelos just has to sit back and let Cyrus take over.

More Scream 4 casting news has arrived and this time, it’s the real deal. Just last week we told you about Lake Bell’s early negotiations and Wed Craven’s effort to reel in Ashley Greene, Hayden Panettiere and Rory Culkin. Well, it looks like one of the four isn’t going to be on the set when filming begins on June 28th in Ann Arbor, Michigan because, according to EW, Emma Roberts has officially claimed the role thought to be for Greene.

Roberts will play Jill, Sidney Prescott’s cousin and the new Scream heroine. Roberts told EW, “I’m so excited to be part of this ground-breaking franchise.” She added, “It’s the perfect opportunity for me to do something completely different than I’ve ever done before.” What? Hotel for Dogs isn’t your thing anymore?

All joking aside, Roberts is a fantastic choice. The idea of Greene potentially taking the lead was exciting, but if I were to choose between Greene and Roberts, I’d definitely opt for the latter. Craven is clearly thrilled with his decision. He said, “Emma’s talent, beauty, and range will add immensely to the sophistication, intensity, and fun of the Scream franchise as it returns to the screen once more.”

No word on whether or not this knocks Greene out of the running completely. Perhaps Craven can offer her a best friend role – as long as she doesn’t mind suffering a gruesome death at some point.

Let the Scream 4 casting rumors begin, and begin with a bang at that. According to THR, Lake Bell is in the midst of negotiations and offers have been sent Ashley Greene, Hayden Panettiere and Rory Culkin’s way. But that’s not all--the article reveals the roles they’re going for, and they reveal some juicy plot details.

Much of the team from the first film--Wes Craven, Kevin Williamson, Neve Campbell, David Arquette and Courteney Cox-- are returning, which means the newcomers have to be tied into the characters we know. If all goes to plan, Bell will play a police officer who knew Campbell's Sidney, while Greene gets a juicier role as Sidney’s cousin, Jill, and the series’ new leading lady.

It’s thrilling to hear they’ve decided to keep the Scream films in the family and not ditch the original characters completely in this passing-of-the-torch effort. Yes, we need some hot young stars for a fresh look, but cutting off ties to the original films, minus Mr. Ghostface of course, would have been devastating.

As for the remaining two potentials, Panettiere will play Jill’s film geek friend and Culkin Greene’s love interest. Do we have a new Randy and Billy in the making? Maybe, but we won’t know for quite some time. Craven is being super sneaky with plot details and isn’t even releasing the script to agencies. He’s certainly doing a fine job keeping the story under wraps, but the situation is making it harder for the talent to decide to sign on the dotted line.

I’ll admit, I’m a major sucker for the Scream movies, but I’m also confident this is a serious step in the right direction. Craven is aiming high, leaving the no-names to the reboot realm and sticking with quality actors. Hopefully his taste in talent represents the production’s quality.

Before we get into this news about why the final Twilight installment Breaking Dawn might not be turned into two movies after all, let me digress for a second. Last week the government released the stats for all the baby names in 2009, and according to the blog Baby Name Wizard, Kellan is the #2 fastest rising name for boys. There's really only one possible explanation for this: Kellan Lutz, the actor who plays Emmett Cullen in the Twilight series, and who is apparently far more influential than any of us had imagined. (Side note: my sister is a teacher named Kellen, and will be faced with teaching a whole generation of boys who share her previously unusual name. Weird)

Anyway, even if Kellan Lutz's massive power was news to us, it's apparently something he's known for a while-- THR's legal blog THR Esq. reports that Lutz and co-star Ashley Greene are holding out for bigger salaries before they sign on to a two-part Breaking Dawn film, which means the fifth film can't be greenlit yet. Major players Kristen Stewart, Taylor Lautner and Robert Pattinson are all getting big raises for the fifth film, and apparently Greene and Lutz-- along with some of the other Cullen kids, it's suggested-- want some of that action as well.

If you're thinking that the sideline characters in the Twilight franchise are pretty interchangeable, you're not alone-- remember how Summit kicked Rachelle Lefevre out of the role of villainous Victoria and replaced her with Bryce Dallas Howard? Insiders are suggesting to THR that a similar situation could happen here-- "We may have a situation where one of them is thrown out on the street to make a point."

It's hard to have sympathy for actors when they're negotiating for more thousands upon the thousands they're already making-- the deals Lutz and Greene are being offered are 10 times more than they made on the first movie-- but then again, the Twilight franchise is worth billions, and they're entitled to a good-sized chunk of it. Unless they press too hard on these negotiations, of course, in which case they'll be getting a whole lot of nothing. Insiders are predicting that Breaking Dawn will be in two parts regardless, so at this point it's just a question of whether or not Lutz and Greene, and whoever else is causing all this trouble, will be a part of it.

A Gossip Girl is teaming up with a Twilighter in Dark Castle Entertainment’s The Apparition. Well, not really a gossip girl. It’s actually Sebastian Stan who’ll be joining Ashley Greene in the supernatural horror flick. On the show Stan plays Carter Baizen, one of Serena’s many love interests and a manipulative badass.

He’ll have to shed the tough guy image for The Apparition because it stars him and Greene as a couple terrified by a supernatural force let lose during a college experiment. According to THR, writer/director Todd Lincoln claims the story is inspired by true events. Shooting kicks off on February 1st in Germany and is set to relocate to Los Angeles in March.

Lincoln’s resume is pretty bare, so it’s hard to speculate what we’ve got coming. As for the lead, Greene and Stan could be a good pair. We’ll know more about what Greene is capable of beyond Twilight when Skateland bows at the Sundance Film Festival this month. Stan gets the job done in Gossip Girl, but I’d imagine his role in The Apparition doesn’t call for a monotone ever-sulking rich kid.
