Nine years ago, the world lost a legend in Carrie Fisher, who may have been known primarily for her role as Princess Leia in the Star Wars franchise but was also an advocate for mental health awareness, women, the LGBTQ+ community and more. To Billie Lourd, however, she was a mom first. The American Horror Story actress paid tribute to her mother on the ninth anniversary of her death, posting about the “joy” in her life that Fisher made possible.

December 27 always seems to be a tough day for Billie Lourd, as it marks the day Carrie Fisher died at age 60, four days after experiencing a medical emergency while on a flight. In a lengthy post on Instagram, Lourd wrote about the immense joy she experienced watching her dad run around with her kids like “old souls that have known each other forever.” She continued:

This is far from the first time that the Last Showgirl alum has honored her mother in any way, shape or form. Lourd has posted frequently about her mother's sense of humor as well as what it was like growing up around her. The actress also shares more personal memories of Fisher and has even discussed the lessons she learned from her from a parenting perspective

Of course, Lourd also doesn't shy away from her mother's Star Wars legacy. In fact, earlier this year, Lourd -- who plays Lieutenant Connix in the franchise herself -- opened up about showing Fisher's Star Wars work to her kids for the first time, and the experience sounded sweet.

It’s heartwarming to see how much support Billie Lourd has, as she and others like Mark Hamill continue to honor Carrie Fisher on her birthday, in Mother’s Day tributes and on the anniversary of her passing. Fisher’s loved ones continue to spread her message, and therefore, she truly does live on.

The Star Wars movies are one of the most popular movie franchises of all time, with entire generations of cinephiles brought up on the galaxy far, far away. I can't imagine what it's been like for Lourd to go through her own grieving process, while Carrie Fisher's many fans also share how much they meant to her. But it sounds like her ionic Star Wars appearances have been helpful for the Scream Queens star to keep her mother's memory alive. As Lourd explained:

Add in the fact that Billie Lourd had a role opposite in The Force Awakens and The Last Jedi opposite Carrie Fisher also means that she was able to watch her legacy firsthand, and share in her final film roles. They got to be in the galaxy together, creating precious memories of the actress' last years.

Fisher will always be synonymous with her time as Leia, and it's touching to see what it means for Billie Lourd to have those movies and memories as memento. Grief comes in waves, and this story is definitely a touching one.

The American Horror Story franchise has been going strong since back in 2011 with the Murder House season that started it all, and that season is still my favorite out of all those that I've seen so far. Now, with creator Ryan Murphy revealing details about the long-awaited Season 13, the cast list has me convinced that I'm going to need to plan on tuning in after the end of the 2025 TV schedule. Not only are there many big names coming back, but one new cast member is going from Wicked to... well, something probably wicked in a different way!

Among those on the cast list (as revealed on Instagram on Halloween 2025) are several of the AHS cast members to appear in the most seasons. Brace yourself for some very familiar names, and check out who you can expect when American Horror Story comes back:

While there are a lot of names to be excited about, there's a reason why the comment section is largely full of fans freaking out about Jessica Lange. After starring in the first four seasons, Lange hasn't returned to AHS for more than a guest role since 2015. (There are also plenty of people excited about Ariana Grande, with the news breaking less than a month before the arrival of Wicked: For Good in the 2025 movie release schedule.)

There reveals came with "I'll Be Seeing You" by Vera Lynn playing, and I've found Vera Lynn songs to be fun when paired with horror ever since "We'll Meet Again" was effectively used in Stranger Things. There was some bad news to go with the thrills of the cast list, though, as the video confirmed that Season 13 will premiere on Halloween... in 2026. With AHS Season 12 wrapping back in April 2024, that will mean more than two full years without any new episodes. Take a look:

As noted, a lot of the fans commenting on the video are sharing their excitement about Jessica Lange and Ariana Grande, and one person caught the AHS: Coven reference of the iconic "Surprise, bitch, I bet you thought you'd seen the last of me." That line has been heavily memed since Billie Lourd dropped it in her role as Madison Montgomery in Season 3. Interestingly, both Kathy Bates and Angela Bassett are also currently starring on network TV shows, with CBS' Matlock for Bates and ABC's 9-1-1 for Bassett.

At least one person was celebrating that Kim Kardashian won't be part of the cast despite her doing well enough in Season 12 when she channeled sister Kourtney Kardashian. Ryan Murphy was impressed enough by the reality star's turn as a scripted actress that he cast her in All's Fair, which premieres with a stacked cast on Tuesday, November 4 for anybody with a Hulu subscription.

With AHS Season 13 not premiering for another year, fans might be in for a long wait until more details emerge beyond the cast list. That said, those actors are interesting enough that I may use the next year to catch up on the American Horror Stories seasons I've missed over the years. After all, even though AHS is an anthology, it pays to see the actors playing different roles time and again.

We’ve seen memorable live-action Tinkerbells in movies like 2003’s Peter Pan and when Yara Shahidi was cast as the iconic fairy in Peter Pan & Wendy. But Billie Lourd proved she’s another talented actress who could pull off the magical look, too. At the Disney princess party for her 33rd birthday, The Last Showgirl actress posted herself on Instagram dressed up as Peter Pan’s fairy sidekick. I’ve gotta say, those light-up shoes of hers are truly an awfully big adventure:

There’s so much to love about Billie Lourd’s Tinkerbell costume. The talented actress made sure to sparkle in any way she knew how. Those light-up platform heels can make it easy to spot the Booksmart actress from a mile away, and every fairy’s gotta have wings that are literally lit.

I love that Billie Lourd’s mesh, forest-green costume is a mix of sexy and cute to show you’re never too old to be a fan of Disney animated movies. Another standout feature that I can’t get enough of from the Ticket to Paradise actress is her glowing winged eyeliner and glittery eyeshadow. It’s the perfect way to resemble the Neverland resident without going full cartoon. With that tiara resting confidently on her head, it shows Lourd means business.

Billie Lourd looked like she was having the time of her life at her birthday party. A lot of familiar faces were at the celebration, all in fun Disney costume attire that you can see below:

It’s no surprise that Disney could have such a connection to Billie Lourd. Not only did her mother, Carrie Fisher, star as Leia in the Star Wars movies, but Lourd also played Lieutenant Connix in the sequel trilogy alongside her mom. Lourd is also a big Disneyland fan, with her favorite ride at the theme park being Rise of the Resistance, of course. She even took her daughter to Star Wars Day at the Disney Parks, which honored Fisher's legacy and her own. You can never get enough Disney, can you?

The Rise of Skywalker actress appears to be balancing plenty in her life. While her family had their share of career challenges in the spotlight, it looks like Billie Lourd honors her legacy with legroom for a personal life. Other than acting projects, she’s married to actor Austen Rydell and they share two kids together. Lourd sweetly told People that she sees “star power” in her kids but hopes one of them will be a doctor. Fortunately, if her kids do turn to acting, they’ve got two actor parents and their famous relatives before them to show them the ways.

Apparently, Billie Lourd can thank her famous mother and grandmother for her comedy skills. As far as her tap dancing skills, she’ll have to give props to Debbie Reynolds on that one compared to Carrie Fisher. It’s hard to believe that it’s been eight years since Carrie Fisher died in 2016. Thankfully, though, while she’s been gone for almost a decade, her legacy has shined on brightly. Billie Lourd consistently uses her platform to show her love for her mom as well as her journey with grief. While speaking about her feelings of grief and attempts to help her mother's addiction issues, Billie Lourd reveals that she also looked up some sobering statistics about drug overdose deaths, and their frequency. Those victims of the disease left behind love ones like Lourd, who posted a message on solidarity for those with similar experiences. Talk about using your platform for a good cause.

Indeed, the comments section of Lourd's IG post is filled with people who were moved by her story. That includes those who have also lost loved ones to addiction, as well as Star Wars fans who are still mourning Carrie Fisher's passing. Her legacy is tied to the galaxy far far, away as well as her trademark sense of humor and contributions to famous movie scripts. And while Star Wars fans know "no one's ever really gone", there are still very strong feelings about the late actress, and the performance that we never got for The Rise of Skywalker.

This weekend marked yet another Star Wars Day and, as expected, it featured fun tributes from fans and members of the franchise alike. (Mace Windu actor Samuel L. Jackson celebrated particularly early this year.) Another series alum that took in the festivities was Billie Lourd, who notably played Lieutenant Connix in the sequel trilogy. Of course, Lourd is the daughter of the late Carrie Fisher, who became a pop culture icon for her portrayal of Princess Leia Organa. Lourd has kept the SW vibes flowing since losing her mom and, this year, she spent May the 4th with her daughter at Disney Parks. And what’s even sweeter is that under her post, fans left some great comments related to Fisher.

By now, many have likely had an opportunity to visit the Galaxy’s Edge locations of Disneyland and Disney’s Hollywood Studios, which have much to offer fans. Said places can also provide truly memorable experiences for parents and their children, as evidenced by social media updates that some share. Based on the American Horror Story vet’s Instagram post, she herself had a sweet moment with her 16-month-old baby girl, Jackson. If there’s any single major theme in the Star Wars saga, it’s the idea of legacies. The Force is strong in the Skywalker line, and I’d like to think that there’s something remarkable about Billie Lourd and her family as well. She’s a talented actress in her own right, and she’s preceded by mom Carrie Fisher and maternal grandmother Debbie Reynolds. It would be an understatement to say that Fisher and Reynolds were phenomenal actresses, and they were also incredibly close. I love that Lourd is making memories with her own child now and keeping the galaxy far, far away in the mix while doing that.

The reactions to the Booksmart alum’s post are also lovely, with many noting how sweet it is that she’s spending time with her little girl in such a way. Unsurprisingly, though, many are also making mention of her late mom, who died in 2016 of cardiac arrest. Carrie Fisher may be gone, but she’s certainly not forgotten. Today, not only do fans continue to honor her, but her friends and family do as well. Co-star and on-screen brother Mark Hamill has shared fun throwbacks featuring Fisher as well as some of their other Star Wars co-stars. In 2023, Fisher was also honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame posthumously. Some particularly sweet remembrances of the actress and writer have come from her daughter, though. For instance, during Star Wars Day in 2021, she shared a photo of her son, Kingston, watching Fisher in A New Hope. 

One can’t help but shed a tear when seeing the continued love for Carrie Fisher and her family. I’d say that Billie Lourd is keeping her legacy alive in sweet fashion, and I hope that continues to be the case. Here’s to many more splendid May the 4th outings for Lourd and her kids at Disneyland and more, and let’s hope for continued tributes to her legendary mother.

Mansfield was killed in a car crash when Hargitay was just three years old. Hargitay was in the car too, but survived with only minor physical injuries.

Tom Holland's fame exploded when he was cast as Spider-Man in the MCU, though he's been acting since he was a kid. It makes sense he'd find his way into show business, as his father, Dominic Holland, is a comedian and TV and radio star of some renown in the United Kingdom.

Tracee Ellis Ross

Black-ish star Tracee Ellis Ross took a slightly longer road to fame that many other scions of stars, but Girlfriends eventually made her one. Her mother is one of the biggest stars in pop music of the 20th century, Motown legend Diana Ross, who also dabbled in acting with roles in The Wiz and Lady Sings the Blues.

Jordana Brewster

Jordana Brewster has built her own name and reputation in Hollywood, mostly through her work in the Fast franchise, but she also comes from a very accomplished family. Her mother, Maria João, is a Brazillian legend, as she was the first Brazillian model to appear on the cover of the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue, in 1978. Brewster's grandfather, Kingman Brewster, was a giant in academia, serving as the president of Yale University from 1964 until 1977.

Zooey Deschanel

Of course, Zooey Deschanel has a famous sister, Emily, and together they have a couple of pretty famous parents. Zooey's father, Caleb Deschanel is a cinematographer who has been nominated six times for an Oscar, for his work on films like The Right Stuff and The Passion Of The Christ. Zooey and Emily's mother, Mary Jo, is also an actor, known best for playing Eileen Hayward in the Twin Peaks franchise. 

Vanessa Kirby

From starring as Princess Margaret in The Crown to playing a baddie in Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning, Vanessa Kirby has shown she can do just about anything on screen. Her father, Dr. Roger Kirby is a renowned doctor in the U.K., so while it might not be a Hollywood connection, Vanessa does come from a very prominent family. 

Alfie Allen

Game of Thrones star Alfie Allen has a pretty famous sister, singer Lily Allen, and a pretty famous father, Keith Allen. Keith is very well known in his native England, but American audiences will recognize him from his roles in Trainspotting, and Kingsman: The Golden Circle, among others. Alfie and Lily's mother, Alison Owen, is a movie producer as well, including the 2024 Amy Winehouse biopic, Back to Black.

Josh Brolin

Josh Brolin made his film debut in The Goonies when he was 18, in 1985. After a solid, but far from remarkable, run for the next 20 years, Brolin became a legit superstar in the 2010s, eclipsing the fame of his father, James Brolin, but probably not his stepmother, Barbara Streisand.

Louisa Jacobson

If you haven't watched The Gilded Age, you need to, and when you do, you'll likely love the performance from Louisa Jacobson. Of course, you wouldn't expect less from the daughter of one of the greatest actors of all time, Meryl Streep. 

Zoey Deutch

Zoey Deutch is known for movies like Everybody Wants Some!! and Something from Tiffany's, as well as TV shows like The Politician and Ringer. Her mother, Lea Thompson is known for classics like Back To The Future, and Some Kind of Wonderful, where Thompson met Zoey's father, Howard Deutch, who directed the film. 

Lewis Pullman

Lewis Pullman has received widespread acclaim for his performance in Apple TV+'s Lessons in Chemistry. As you may have guessed by his last name, his father is none other than the great Bill Pullman, who, of course, made one of the most inspiring speeches in movie history in Independence Day. 

Jamie Lee Curtis

Jamie Lee Curtis is a true legend and she also has two legendary parents, father Tony Curtis and mother Janet Leigh. Jamie Lee is also married to a famous actor, This is Spinal Tap star Christopher Guest. One more fun fact? Jamie Lee carries an English nobility title. The Right Honourable the Lady Haden-Guest, because Christopher's full title is Christopher Haden-Guest, 5th Baron Haden-Guest.

Ben Platt

Marc Platt has been nominated for an Oscar three times as the producer of Best Picture nominees Bridge of Spies, La La Land, and The Trial of the Chicago 7. Surely, he's most proud of being a father to Pitch Perfect star Ben Platt. 

Laura Dern

Over five decades now, Laura Dern has crushed on the big and small screen. Her father, Bruce Dern, is in his incredible seventh decade of his career and her mother, Diane Ladd, has been a star for just as long. In fact, Ladd and Laura were both nominated for Oscars for their respective performances together in Rambling Rose, one of Laura Dern's best performances. 

George Clooney

It's to imagine there was ever a time when George Clooney wasn't the most famous person in the world, much less his own family, but that was the case once. George's father, Nick Clooney, was a long-time TV news anchor all over the country, including in LA. He was also a game show host in the mid-'70s. George is also nephew to the iconic Rosemary Clooney, which also made Betty Clooney an aunt to George as well. Rosemary's son, the late actor Miguel Ferrer, was also more famous than his cousin George in the '80s, after starring in Robocop and Star Trek III: The Search for Spock. 

Daniel Day-Lewis

Even the great Daniel Day-Lewis comes from a famous family. The legendary actor's father was Cecil Day-Lewis, who was the one-time poet laureate of the United Kingdom, and his mother, Jill Balcon, was a well-known stage actor in the UK. Daniel Day-Lewis' maternal grandfather, Michael Balcon, helped launch the British film industry in the 1930s and '40s, as well. Acting is in his blood, for sure. 

Rob Reiner

There's no bigger name in Hollywood than Rob Reiner. Whether as an actor, director, writer, or producer, Reiner has made his name across the board. Before all that, his father, Carl Reiner, made his name doing many of the same things. Rob's mother, Estelle Reiner, is also pretty famous, having delivered the line, "I'll have what she's having," in When Harry Met Sally. 

Zosia Mamet

From Girls to The Flight Attendant, Zosia Mamet has shown herself to be quite the ensemble player on screen. Her father, iconic playwright David Mamet, is really more famous for what he's written for the stage. David has found plenty of success writing for the screen as well, penning movies like Glengarry Glen Ross (based on his play of the same name), The Untouchables, and 2001's Hannibal.

Billie Lourd

Billie Lourd got her start working with her mother, Carrie Fisher, in the Star Wars sequels. As Fisher's daughter, she's a part of a family of Hollywood royalty, with Debbie Reynolds and Eddie Fisher as her grandparents. It's an impressive lineage! 

Bessie Carter

Bessie Carter's star turn as Prudence Featherington in Bridgerton is right on par with not one, but both of her famous parents. Bessie's father, Jim Carter, is most famous in the U.S. for playing the stern butler, Mr. Carson, on Downton Abbey. Her mother is none other than the great Imelda Staunton, who, among many other things, has starred as Dolores Umbridge in the Harry Potter series and Queen Elizabeth in the final two seasons of The Crown on Netflix. It's a lot to live up to for Bessie, but she's showing she's up to it. 

Timothée Chalamet

Dune star Timothée Chalamet's father may not be as famous as some of the parents on this list, but in some circles, he's very famous. Marc Chalamet is a French reporter who worked for Le Parisien as a correspondent and for the United Nations as an editor for UNICEF. His mother, Nicole, was also in show business for a time, as a dancer on Broadway. 

Phoebe Dynevor

Bridgerton is one of the most popular streaming shows ever and among the excellent cast is Phoebe Dynevor, who plays Daphne Basset. U.S. audiences may not be familiar with her mother, Sally Dynevor, but in the U.K., she's one of the most famous people on TV, having played the role of Sally on the long-running Coronation Street soap opera. Sally has played the role since 1986! Phoebe's grandmother, Shirley Dynevor, was also an actress in the United Kingdom. 

Melanie Griffith

When you talk about the legendary Hollywood families, you have to mention Melanie Griffith. She is mother to Dakota Johnson, of course, with her ex Don Johnson. Griffith is also the daughter of a famous actress, the great Tippi Hedren, star of The Birds, among many other films. 

Jennifer Aniston

Friends star Jennifer Aniston comes from famous stock. Her father, John Aniston, played the character Victor Kiriakis on Days of Our Lives for an amazing 37 years, right up until his death in 2022. The Morning Show star's mother, Nancy Dow, was also an actress, though she never quite had the career of Aniston, but then again, few do. 

Jessica Capshaw

For over 200 episodes, Jessica Capshaw played Arizona Robbins on Grey's Anatomy. Before that, she started out in Hollywood working with her stepfather, Steven Spielberg. Her mother, Kate Capshaw, is also an excellent actress, of course. Talent runs in the family, like all the others on this list. 

Margaret Qualley

You might think "Margaret Qualley" does not have a last name I recognize. That's fair; her father, Paul Qualley, was a model for a time, but it's her mother, Andie McDowell, that lands Margaret on this list. She and her sister, Rainey, weren't raised in Hollywood, but instead in Asheville, NC. She still found her way into show business after attending NYU and studying ballet in New York. 

John David Washington

Denzel Washington's son, John David Washington, wasn't going to follow in his famous father's footsteps, trying his hand at professional football in the St. Louis Rams organization. Luckily for film fans, his football career didn't take off, but his Hollywood career has. BlacKkKlansman and Tenet definitely got John David out from under his father's substantial shadow, and that is a really impressive thing to even attempt, much less succeed in doing. 

Riley Keough

Anyone who is the granddaughter of the King of Rock and Roll deserves to be on this list. That's right, Riley Keough is Elvis Presley's granddaughter, and daughter to Lisa Marie. After Lisa Marie died in 2023, Keough also became the sole owner of the legendary Graceland, Elvis' home, in Memphis. It's an impressive legacy to uphold, but Keough is clearly up for the challenge. 

Hannah Einbinder

Hannah Einbinder is one of the brightest up-and-coming comedic stars in Hollywood, starring in Hacks as well as her very funny stand-up act. The apple doesn't fall from the tree, as her mother is SNL legend Laraine Newman, who was part of the original cast from 1975-1980. 

Nico Parker

Nico Parker's star is just starting to rise, having received acclaim for playing Sarah in HBO's The Last of Us. Her mother is the iconic Thandiwe Newton, so again, the apple doesn't fall from the tree in this family. Her father, Ol Parker, wrote and directed Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again.

As this list shows, it's not really fair to use the term "nepo baby" all the time, as all of these stars have forged their own path and careers. Sure, it helps to have the connections, and the DNA, of some talented parents, but that's far from all it takes, as these stars have shown.

American Horror Story is one of those shows that has run for some time, and over that timeframe, there have been many stories, characters, and so much more – and I’ve been there to see it all.

The Ryan Murphy-created series has had twelve seasons that have taken place in a multitude of different locations. The cast has always changed, bringing in new actors and characters for each story. But, there are several actors for this anthology series who have been in many seasons, which is what we’ll be going over today.

Evan Peters (9)

There are a few people I instantly think of when American Horror Story pops up in my mind, and one of them is Evan Peters.

The actor has been making even more of a name for himself the last few years, starring in shows such as Dahmer, where he was praised for his performance for Jeffrey Dahmer, as well as being a major part of the Mare of Easttown cast, which led to him winning an Emmy.

Believe it or not, Peters has been in nine seasons of AHS. This includes Murder House, Asylum, Coven, Freak Show, Hotel, Roanoke, Cult, Apocalypse and Double Feature. He’s arguably one of the most known names from this series, and for good reason – his acting has always been fantastic.

Sarah Paulson (9)

The next person I always think of when it comes to this show is Sarah Paulson. There’s plenty to watch if you love Sarah Paulson, but she’s also appeared in nine seasons like Peters. Her seasons are Murder House, Asylum, Coven, Freak Show, Hotel, Roanoke, Cult, Apocalypse, and Double Feature.

It’s been some time since we’ve seen either of these two actors in a season, but maybe, in the future, we just might be able to see them return.

Lily Rabe (9)

Lily Rabe is another actress who has been in many seasons of American Horror Story – nine to be exact, just like Paulson and Peters. Her seasons are Murder House, Asylum, Coven, Freak Show, Hotel, Roanoke, Apocalypse, 1984, and Double Feature.

Rabe has also appeared in a few other projects, including her part in the Love & Death cast and in Presumed Innocent in 2024, but I always loved her in AHS.

Francis Conroy (8)

Francis Conroy is another actor who's been in the show since the very first season. Her seasons are Murder House, Asylum, Coven, Freak Show, Roanoke, Cult, Apocalypse, and Double Feature.

My personal favorite season of hers was Coven. There’s just something about her playing Myrtle Snow that always makes me love her even more. It’s also been a few years since we have seen her in the show, so hopefully she'll return before much longer.

Denis O’Hare (8)

The next actor on this list that we’re going to talk about is Denis O’Hare, who has been in a total of eight seasons. O’Hare has played a variety of roles across his seasons so far, which are Murder House, Coven, Freak Show, Hotel, Roanoke, Double Feature, NYC, and Delicate.

O’Hare was also a part of the Season 2 cast of American Horror Stories, another Murphy-created show, so it’s clear that he’s a pretty big mainstay in the series.

Emma Roberts (6)

Emma Roberts is the first actress on this list that wasn’t featured in the first season, but her characters have certainly made an impact on AHS. Roberts has appeared in a total of six aired seasons so far.

These are Coven, Freak Show, Cult, Apocalypse, 1984 and Delicate. Personally, I have always loved Roberts in this show. While it’s awesome that she has been doing her own thing and appearing in many small horror films, such as Nerve, it’s great to see her in the latest seasons.

Billie Lourd (6)

Billie Lourd was another actress who didn’t start appearing in American Horror Story until much later on, but is steadily becoming one of the most reliable actresses for the series.

Her parts in the show include seasons such as Cult, Apocalypse, 1984, Double Feature, NYC and Delicate. making her overall total so far as five. Lourd, in my eyes, is becoming another awesome Scream Queen.

Leslie Grossman (6)

Leslie Grossman also came a little later in AHS’s lifespan, but her characters have truly made a serious impact, from some that you literally hate more than anything to characters that are truly sinister.

Grossman’s appearances are in Cult, Apocalypse, 1984, Double Feature, NYC and Delicate.

Adina Porter (5)

Porter is one of those actresses who has been around since the beginning, but she had such a long hiatus from the series that you wouldn’t have ever expected to see her again.

She first appeared in Murder House way back in 2011, but then didn’t appear again in the series until Roanoke. She had parts in two later seasons – Cult and Apocalypse, and then also appeared in Double Feature.

Kathy Bates (5)

I honestly think Kathy Bates has become another queen of horror since she had such an iconic role in Misery back in the 1990s – and truthfully, there have been so many amazing Kathy Bates movies since then. But, believe it or not, I was actually first introduced to Bates in American Horror Story, way back when I was a wee little girl.

Alright, well, maybe not little, but a teenager. Either way, Bates has appeared in a total of five seasons: Coven, Freak Show, Hotel, Roanoke, and Apocalypse. Truthfully, she’s one of the few actors from the earlier seasons that I miss the most, because she was always a force on screen, but I suppose I can just return to older seasons to watch her.

Jamie Brewer (5)

Jamie Brewer’s characters were always the ones that I genuinely loved the heck out of, because they are either incredibly creepy or some of the sweetest people ever – talk about a spectacular range. Brewer has appeared in a total of five seasons.

These are Murder House, Coven, Freak Show, Cult and Apocalypse. She also appeared on American Horror Stories, but what I wouldn’t give to see her again in the new season. I always loved watching her on screen, no matter what role she performed.

Finn Wittrock (5)

Finn Wittrock is one of those actors that truly made a mark when he was on the show. He is, yet again, one of the few on this list who was not in the original season (Murder House), but his characters in American Horror Story have truly become legends of their own, and his seasons are some of the best.

Wittrock has appeared in a total of five seasons: Freak Show, Hotel, Roanoke, 1984, and Double Feature.

Jessica Lange (5)

Another actress that I believe everyone thinks of when it comes to American Horror Story is Jessica Lange. While she was only in five seasons, Lange was arguably the main character of the first four seasons, creating very compelling stories and giving performances that truly rocked the world of television horror.

The actress is a legend who has been in many movies and television shows throughout her decades in the industry, but her time in AHS will always be remembered as great. Her seasons are Murder House, Asylum, Coven, Freak Show, and Apocalypse. While I doubt we’re going to see Lange in another, it’s always incredible to revisit some of the best seasons of the show with her performance in them.

Angela Bassett (5)

Last, but not least, we need to talk about Angela Bassett. The actress has been swimming in movies the last few years, becoming a part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and even earning a historic Academy Award nomination for her role in it. There are so many awesome Angela Bassett movies from earlier in her career, like Vampire in Brooklyn, Waiting to Exhale, Malcolm X, and many more.

Bassett had pretty big roles for five seasons (Coven, Freak Show, Hotel, Cult, and Apocalypse), where she played a few characters that I still think about to this day. While she may have only been in a handful of seasons, she truly made her mark on the show, and I miss her dearly.

With so many incredible actors, it’s not that surprising to see how many have appeared in multiple seasons of the series. While Season 13 is confirmed, we don’t know who the actors that are coming back will be, but we’ll be sure to update this when that’s confirmed. I’ll just go back and rewatch some of the older seasons to relive the glory days.

Todd also highlighted that he accompanied Carrie to their mother’s previous Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony and her handprint dedication at the renowned Chinese Theatre. Upon learning that he was not included in the guest list, Todd took the initiative to contact the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce, the authority responsible for the Walk of Fame plaques, seeking clarification. According to Todd, he was informed that Disney had control over the guest list for the event.

Soon after Fisher’s public statement, Carrie’s half-sisters, Joely and Tricia Leigh, took to Instagram and issued a joint statement claiming that Billie Lourd had made a conscious decision not to include them, citing the reason as “misguided.” From their point of view, the two sisters made it clear that “Carrie would have definitely wanted her siblings to be present” for the epic career moment.

Supporting Todd’s assertions, Joely and Tricia acknowledged the longstanding division within the family. They emphasized that they have respected Billie’s need for personal grieving following Carrie’s passing, allowing her the necessary space to process the loss in her own manner. In response to his niece’s accusations, Todd Fisher spoke to ET, vehemently disagreeing with her statements. He stated that he took issue with her comments on every level and refuted the claim that his family had profited from the aftermath of Carrie Fisher’s death. Todd Fisher pointed out that he did an interview with 20/20 following the deaths of his sister and mother, Debbie Reynolds, but did not charge for it. He explained that he participated in the interview because he disagreed with the analysis that his mother had died of a broken heart, and he never profited from the interview. He told the outlet:  

Concluding his remarks, Todd Fisher expressed his belief that his late sister would have desired his presence at the event. He emphasized that throughout the release of the Star Wars films, he consistently served as her companion at the premieres, acting as her plus one. And That Brings Us Up To Date

On Thursday, May 4th, 2023, Billie Lourd graciously accepted the posthumous accolade in Los Angeles on behalf of her beloved mother. She was joined by Mark Hamill (who said the honor was long overdue), Fisher’s Star Wars co-star, who also delivered a heartfelt speech during the ceremony. Lourd affectionately referred to Hamill as her “space uncle,” he described Fisher as remarkably wise, surpassing her years in wisdom right from the moment they first crossed paths.

Fisher’s siblings respected their niece’s wishes and did not attend the ceremony.

May the 4th has come yet again, and everyone seemed to celebrate the annual holiday a little differently. Some watch the Star Wars movies in order, and others might hop on social media and post a message or meme to commemorate the day. A number of notable celebrities chose the latter route, as James Gunn, Mark Hamill and more decided to acknowledge the day, and it's giving me all the feels. 

Gunn showed some love to Star Wars, even though he's only hours away from the release of one of his biggest movies to date. Fortunately, we already know a good deal about Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, so now was as good of a time as any for him to drop some personal thoughts about how his Marvel franchise was influenced by Star Wars: 

Guardians of the Galaxy isn't Star Wars, but I think many readers can appreciate that James Gunn did his best to deliver something he felt evoked the same emotional response just as well. In any case, I think it's a great tribute, especially from a guy who will soon be dealing with upcoming DC movies more than any future Disney project he might have. 

Gunn's response must've been appreciated by the folks at Lucasfilm, as the Star Wars account on Twitter said the following in response to his message: 

Mark Hamill, of course, is going to celebrate May the 4th. The Luke Skywalker actor paid tribute by mentioning another worthy Star Wars event happening today. Today, Carrie Fisher received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Along with attending the event itself, Hamill reacted on Twitter to Fisher's star news when he first heard about it and reacted again today to remind people of the reason for the season: 

Carrie Fisher's Walk of Fame ceremony was extra special, thanks in part to an appearance by her daughter, Billie Lourd. She showed up in a gorgeous dress honoring Leia, and then sprinkled some of Fisher's glitter over the top of the star:

Even the Star Trek actors couldn't help but get in on the fun of May the 4th. LeVar Burton, fresh off celebrating his reprisal as Geordi LaForge in Star Trek: Picard Season 3, used his iconic character and an assist from Mark Hamill to give fans a new catchphrase:

Lin-Manuel Miranda also had a creative contribution to May the 4th, with an assist from the one and only J.J. Abrams. The duo introduced Miranda's Cantina song, which he then performed in Hutteese: 

Even The Muppets, currently prepping for the release of The Muppets Mayhem, took some time to show some love for Star Wars. Granted, they had Robin do the video, and he didn't even crack the list of CinemaBlend's top 25 Muppets, but I'll personally advocate for his inclusion after seeing this great video:

I'm not sure I could've recapped the movie any better myself. All of these tributes always make what would otherwise be a regular day in May a little more special, so I'm hoping that the Star Wars celebrations continue for every May 4th to come!

As the Walk of Fame prepares to honor Carrie Fisher with a star, her daughter Billie Lourd explained why the Star Wars actress's siblings weren’t invited to the ceremony. She claimed that after her mother’s death, her aunt and uncle “chose to process their grief publicly and capitalize” on their loved one’s death. Now, the late actress’s brother has responded to his niece's claims. 

Lourd made it very clear she did not agree with how her mother's siblings dealt with her death, pointing out the books and interviews that came out following Carrie Fisher's death. Then, Todd Fisher responded, telling ET:

In the end, Tod Fisher noted that he thinks Carrie Fisher would have wanted him at the event. He also said that as the Star Wars movies came out he would always be her plus one at the premieres. He ended his statement by saying that he thinks there is “absolutely no way that Carrie wouldn’t want me there.” 

This is not the first time Todd Fisher has spoken out about being “intentionally omitted” from the ceremony. He spoke to TMZ about not being invited, and Carrie Fisher’s sisters Joely and Tricia Leigh posted a joint Instagram statement saying Lourd had “chosen to not include” them, and it was for a “misguided reason.” Due to these public comments, the Booksmart actress also published a statement addressing why she didn’t invite her mother’s siblings, noting both the news story and the social media post, saying later that “they know why” they weren’t invited. 

Billie Lourd has always been pretty private, and will occasionally post about her late mother. She’s spoken about how Carrie Fisher’s sense of humor impacted her upbringing, and to honor the Star Wars star’s birthday, she uploaded a candid message. However, she tends to keep to herself, especially when it comes to her family. Through this statement, the actress made it very clear that she did not agree with how her mother’s siblings chose to publicly address the Star Wars icon's death.

When it comes to the Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony Mark Hamill called it a “long overdue & so well-deserved,” honor for the actress, and I think anyone who has watched the Star Wars movies in order would likely agree with him. However, in terms of who will be at the event, Lourd clarified why she did not want her mother’s siblings there, and they explained why they thought they should attend.

Earlier this week, Carrie Fisher’s brother, Todd Fisher, shared with TMZ that he was “intentionally omitted” from attending the late Carrie Fisher’s Hollywood Walk of Fame celebration. Then, on Wednesday morning, Fisher’s two sisters, Joely and Tricia Leigh Fisher, jointly shared on Instagram that their niece had “chosen not to include” them for “some bizarre, misguided reason.” Following these developments, Billie Lourd issued a statement, sharing her reasoning. As she explained: 

In the statement (via The Hollywood Reporter), Billie Lourd shared that she decided to write the statement only because her aunts and uncle “publicly attacked” her and felt she needed to “publicly respond.” As Lourd shared, she is the one who didn’t invite them to the Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony, and “they know why.” 

Billie Lourd lost both her mother, Carrie Fisher, and her grandmother, Debbie Reynolds, in just two days. Fisher died on Dec. 27, 2016 at the UCLA Medical Center four days after experiencing a medical emergency while she was on a flight from London to Los Angeles during her book tour. Then on Dec. 28, 2016, Reynolds died at the age of 84 in Los Angeles. 

In 2017, Joely Fisher published the memoir Growing Up Fisher: Musings, Memories and Misadventures, and in summer 2018, Todd Fisher published a memoir about his sister and mother called My Girls: A Lifetime with Carrie and Debbie. Lourd also continued with these words: 

Billie Lourd has greatly kept her personal life private, though she has spoken about the impact her late mother has had on her a handful of times following her death. In a 2022 interview, ahead of her role in the rom-com Ticket to Paradise, she called Fisher “the funniest woman of all time,” and during the Star Wars’ actress’ recent birthday, she opened up about her grief to remind others they are “not alone.”

Since Carrie Fisher’s death, Billie Lourd has had two children with Austen Rydell, whom she married in 2022 and where she honored her late mother. As Lourd explained, she has “no relationship” with her mother's siblings, and given how they dealt with her death, she was uncomfortable with inviting them to this event. Carrie Fisher’s Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony will be streamed live on the Walk of Fame website while it happens on Thursday, May 4 at 11:30 a.m. PT.  

Ryan Murphy is one of the most notable television producers working today. He is the mastermind behind FOX's Glee, 9-1-1, and Scream Queens, and has produced a number of series for FX, including American Horror Story and American Crime Story, as well as Pose. In 2018, Murphy signed a $300 million deal with Netflix that resulted in a number of successful shows for the streamer, like The Politician, Ratched, and most recently Dahmer – Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story and The Watcher. The latter two are a couple of the most popular series streaming right now.

There are several reasons for Murphy's success, including genre-bending entertainment, kooky characters, and outlandish storytelling that always intrigues. However, many cite his casts and frequent collaborators for tending to elevate the material. Here is a list of some of the most frequent and reliable collaborators who Murphy relies on for his fan-favorite television series.

Sarah Paulson

Sarah Paulson seems to find her way into almost every Ryan Murphy-produced endeavor. She has played a variety of characters on almost every season of American Horror Story, excluding Season 9, 1984. Her roles on the anthology series have ranged from a starring role as Ana Winters in Asylum and Roanoke, to a guest appearance in Murder House. 

She also starred in the hit Netflix show, Ratched, and American Crime Story: The People vs. OJ Simpson, for which she won an Emmy for playing lawyer Marcia Clark. In addition, Paulson played supporting roles in Feud: Bette and Joan, and American Crime Story: Impeachment, for which she received yet another Emmy nomination. The actress has collaborated with Murphy since the very beginning, when she played a guest role on Nip/Tuck. 

Evan Peters

Evan Peters is yet another darling of Murphy's. He has starred in nine seasons of American Horror Story, only excluding 1984 and New York City. Like Paulson, Peters' AHS roles have ranged from centerpiece characters like Tate from Murder House, to more experimental seasons like Cult and Apocalypse where the actor has portrayed multiple characters throughout. 

He also acted as a producer for the Double Feature season. In addition to AHS, Peters plays Stan Bowes, a member of the Trump Organization on the FX series, Pose.  Most notably, he plays the titular role in Netflix's Dahmer – Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story, for which he received a Golden Globe nomination. 

Darren Criss

Darren Criss has been a Murphy favorite since his Glee performance as Blaine, the a cappella-singing love interest to Chris Colfer's Kurt. He switched things up by following that with The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story, where he played the leading role, serial killer Andrew Cunanan. His performance was critically acclaimed and he swept the awards' circuit. He went on to work with Murphy again in Hollywood. In addition, Criss guest starred in an episode of AHS: Hotel.

Jessica Lange

Jessica Lange is yet another favorite. The Oscar winning actress has participated in five seasons of American Horror Story, most notably, Murder House, Coven, Freak Show, and Asylum, and makes a guest appearance in Apocalypse. She also had a starring role in FX's Feud: Bette and Joan, where she played Joan Crawford. In addition, Lange plays the cunning grandmother to Zoey Deutch in The Politician. She is also set to star in another Murphy-led project about Marlene Dietrich for Netflix, so even if she's done with AHS, there is more Lange/Murphy to come. 

Emma Roberts

Nothing says Ryan Murphy like Emma Roberts, who is yet another American Horror Story alum. She participated in five seasons of the FX show, including Coven, Freak Show, Apocalypse, and 1984, while also making a single episode appearance in Cult. In addition, Roberts was the lead in the sorority horror show, Scream Queens, which ran for three seasons. 

Kathy Bates

Kathy Bates is yet another Oscar winner who caught Murphy's eye. The Misery actress starred in five seasons of American Horror Story, including her iconic, bone-chilling character in Coven, for which she won an Emmy, and the fan-favorite evil concierge, Iris, in Hotel. Bates also continued her collaboration by playing Joan Blondell in Feud: Bette and Joan.

Dylan McDermott

Dylan McDermott is another familiar face for Murphy fans. The actor is one of the original stars of American Horror Story, and participated in five seasons, including AHS: Asylum. He is best known for his performance as the father of a problematic family in Murder House, which the season is centered around. He also plays a scandalous gas-station owner in the Murphy-produced Hollywood and makes an appearance in Netflix's The Politician.

Angela Bassett

Angela Bassett is another favorite of the creator's. She is the star of FOX's 9-1-1, where she plays the badass Athena Grant. She has also made an appearance on the spin-off show, 9-1-1: Lone Star. In addition, Basset has been in a grand total of five seasons of American Horror Story. Most notably, in Coven, she portrays a fictionalized version Marie Laveau, the Voodoo Queen of New Orleans. She reprised the role for Apocalypse. 

Finn Wittrock

Finn Wittrock has found his way into numerous Murphy projects, including five seasons of American Horror Story. He made his AHS debut in Freak Show, where his incredibly disturbed character earned him an Emmy nomination. He has gone on to appear in The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story and Netflix's Ratched. In addition, he plays a supporting role in the Murphy-directed television film, The Normal Heart. 

Patti LuPone

Nobody loves Broadway like Murphy, so it makes sense that Patti LuPone would be featured in many of his projects. LuPone participated in two seasons of American Horror Story, Coven and NYC, as well as more glamorous roles in Pose and Hollywood. The Broadway legend also makes a cameo appearance in Glee, where she plays herself.  

Matt Bomer

Who doesn't love Matt Bomer? Ryan Murphy sure does. The White Collar star has made a number of appearances in the showrunner's projects, including three seasons of American Horror Story. He had small roles in Freak Show and Stories, and most notably had a major role as Lady Gaga's lover in Hotel. Bomer has a major role in The Normal Heart and Boys in the Band, and makes brief appearances in The New Normal and Glee. He also got behind the camera, directing an episode of American Crime Story: Versace. 

Leslie Grossman

Leslie Grossman has worked with Ryan Murphy since the early days of Nip/Tuck. The actress had minor roles in his short-lived series, Popular, and The New Normal, and additionally starred in five seasons of American Horror Story, and has had leading roles in every season she's been in. She continues to be apart of the show, and was a definite stand out in the Season 11 cast.

Jim Parsons

When Jim Parsons left The Big Bang Theory, he made it a point to work with Ryan Murphy. The actor has had starring roles in films like The Boys in the Band and The Normal Heart, and plays the predatory manager to Rock Hudson in Netflix's Hollywood. The role was something very different for Parsons, but Murphy has a talent for drawing out performances from actors playing against type. 

Billie Lourd

Billie Lourd is another young actress Murphy has taken under his wing. The Star Wars actress started her collaboration with the producer in Scream Queens, where she played one of the killer sorority girls. She subsequently starred in six seasons of American Horror Story, playing a main role in most, including NYC, the most recent season. 

Connie Britton

Before The White Lotus, Connie Britton was a staple in the Ryan Murphy Universe. She is most known for her performance as Vivien Harmon in Murder House, a role she reprised in Apocalypse that landed her an Emmy nomination. She was also a fan favorite in 9-1-1, where she played a 911 operator. In addition, she played Faye Resnick, a friend of Nicole Brown Simpson in The People v. O. J. Simpson: American Crime Story. 

Lea Michele

Some would say Ryan Murphy made Lea Michele a star when he cast her as Rachel Berry in the musical teen comedy, Glee. She became one of the most recognizable stars from the show, and the role earned her both Emmy and Golden Globe nominations. She also dawned a neck brace as an unconventional sorority girl in Scream Queens. 

Clearly Murphy has his favorites, and continues to work with the same reliable, talented actors in order to make his projects as binge-worthy as possible. Other notable collaborators include stars like Gwyneth Paltrow, Julia Roberts, Frances Conroy, Lily Rabe, Adina Porter, Cheyenne Jackson, Neil Patrick Harris, Jane Lynch, and John Stamos. Have you seen Ticket To Paradise yet? Well, if you have, you know it’s a lot of fun, and part of the reason why it’s so much fun is because the chemistry is great between everyone involved. Julia Roberts and George Clooney are quite obviously having the best time together, but that natural affinity also extends to the rest of the cast. It’s particularly clear when Kaitlyn Dever and Billie Lourd bounce off one. There’s an obvious spark, which makes sense given they’re really close in real life.

It turns out when Kaitlyn Dever agreed to play Lily, the daughter of Roberts and Clooney’s feuding exs, she was asked by the director who she’d like to play her best friend in the movie. She picked Billie Lourd, and the two had the best time hanging out while shooting the movie in paradise. Luckily for fans, they also kept a video diary on set, which was turned into a featurette called Keep A Straight Face for the upcoming home entertainment release (digital on 12/9 and Blu-ray on 12/13). The great thing about shooting a movie with your friend is that you always have a friend. Kaitlyn Dever says that during the featurette and it’s such a simple yet obvious truth. It’s clear the two had an absolute blast both while they were on set and during their downtime, of which there is a lot on movie sets. Fortunately, that time passes a lot more quickly when you have a buddy who wants to do things like record Fleetwood Mac covers and go swimming.

Now, just because everyone likes each other doesn’t inherently mean the end product is going to work. Fortunately for Dever, Lourd, Clooney, Roberts and everyone else involved with the infectious chemistry, the end result here is a good time. It might not be Pretty Woman, but it’s a fun spin on a romantic comedy with several exciting B-plots that work in really strong acting all around. If you like the genre, you’ll like this for sure, which is why it’s running at an 87% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes.

Thankfully, if are you down, you don’t have to wait long to pick up a home entertainment copy. The digital release is out today, and you’ll be able to pick up the physical copy on Tuesday. You can do that and in the spirit of this featurette, perhaps go watch it with your own best friend. 

One of the best comedies in recent memory was Olivia Wilde’s Booksmart. The coming-of-age movie is about two best friends (played by Beanie Feldstein and Kaitlyn Dever) who’ve been too busy studying throughout high school to party, but decide to finally go for it right before graduation. Although Wilde recently pursued a completely different film in the drama-filled thriller, Don’t Worry Darling, could a sequel or spinoff happen at some point?  

We’d love to see it. And it came up in CinemaBlend’s recent conversation with Kaitlyn Dever for one of her latest movies, Rosaline. Since the comedy places a Shakespeare side character, Romeo’s ex, at the forefront, I asked the actress if there was a supporting character from one of her other movies she’d like to see get the spotlight. Obviously things went to Booksmart immediately. In her words: 

If you need some refreshing on her answer, Noah Galvin played George, a theater kid who is somewhat of the school’s resident mean queen in Booksmart. He stole so many of the scenes of in the 2019 movie, such as bragging about living in Barcelona, doing karaoke to Alanis Morissette’s “You Oughta Know,” hosting his extravagant murder mystery party or bantering with Beanie Feldstein’s Molly. 

Like many of us, my own favorite supporting character in Booksmart is Gigi, marvelously played by the late Carrie Fisher’s daughter Billie Lourd. When I threw that idea out there, Kaitlyn Dever said this:

In other words, we just need another Booksmart, right? It would certainly be fun to see the comedy continue from another character’s perspective and both of those are inspired choices. Booksmart might go down in history as one of the best women-led buddy comedies, can we get more of the hilarity Olivia Wilde crafted... please? 

Dever seemed up for it on the heels of starring in Rosaline, which is now available to stream with a Hulu subscription. The movie based on Romeo and Juliet is filled with twists on the original tragedy and stars Minnie Driver, Kyle Allen, Sean Teale and Isabela Merced. The movie received positive praise from critics and audiences overall – check out our Rosaline review. 

Booksmart ends with Dever and Feldstein’s characters having to go separate ways for the summer to follow their respective dreams after high school. Maybe there could be some high school reunion party while their in college or a few years down the road that could be explored? Either way, that movie is an absolute gem, I’m turning it on immediately. 

It’s been almost six years since we lost Carrie Fisher. The actress was the daughter of Debbie Reynolds and the mother of Billie Lourd, truly a legendary family of actresses. Today would be Fisher’s 66th birthday, and to honor her late mother Lourd posted a heartfelt and raw tribute to the Star Wars actress.

Lourd wrote about struggling with grief and how it’s OK to not feel OK. She sent love out to anyone who has ever experienced grief, and she posted an adorable photo of her with her mom. 

Losing someone, especially a parent is never easy. I think a lot of people, myself included, can relate to what Lourd wrote about in her caption. Her mother and grandmother were incredibly loved actresses, and now Lourd is as well, and to see her pay tribute to her family and those who are going through something similar is heartwarming. 

Along with the actress’s post, many of her famous friends commented their love for her and her mom, including Kaitlyn Dever. Lourd was part of the critically acclaimed Booksmart cast with Dever, and the two will share the screen again in one of the rom-coms on the 2022 movie schedule Ticket to Paradise. She posted:

Lily Collins also commented, pointing out how sweet and free Lourd is, just like her mom: 

It’s clear how much everyone really loves and cares about Fisher, from her Star Wars co-stars like Mark Hamill to her family members. It’s especially nice to see how meaningful her relationship was with her daughter. While Lourd has been very open about how difficult the grief of losing a parent is, she’s also been super open about her love for her mom, and just how funny Fisher was. She’s been open about the lessons she learned from her mom, both good and bad, specifically mentioning their shared sense of humor.

Lourd now has a little one of her own, and it’s clear her mother’s legacy still lives on in their family. The Booksmart actress is teaching her child the ways of the force, as she posted an adorable photo of her baby watching his grandma as Princess Leia in Star Wars with a knitted cap that resembles his grandma's fabulous buns. It's so cute to see him watching his grandma in a role that defined a generation, and gave so many girls and women such a great role model. 

It’s hard to believe it’s been almost six years since Carrie Fisher passed away. However, Lourd has made sure that her legacy lives on through her own work, and by posting about her mom's. You can never predict exactly what you are in for with each new season of co-creators Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk’s alluring bizarre and extremely freaky anthology series — which is also one of the best horror TV shows on Hulu. That is especially the case for its latest, and eleventh, edition called American Horror Story: New York City (or AHS: NYC, for short), which we can infer takes place in the Big Apple, but not much else about the story has been revealed. 

However, what we can probably count on is that the American Horror Story Season 11 cast is going to be a knockout, just like it is every year. The following is breakdown of the familiar faces coming back and new faces joining in on the fun for the return of the FX hit.

Joe Mantello (Gino)

Making his debut in the American Horror Story cast in the role of Gino, we have Joe Mantello, who has worked with Ryan Murphy several other times. He played Mickey Marcus in HBO’s Emmy-winning historical film The Normal Heart, directed Netflix’s The Boys in the Band from 2020 (which Murphy produced), starred in Murphy’s Netflix original period miniseries, Hollywood, from the same year, and had a role on The Watcher cast, most recently. 

After getting his start on Broadway, the actor made his debut in a title made for the screen with Cookie — a 1989 comedy starring Peter Falk — and, in 1997, made his own feature-length directorial debut with Love! Valour! Compassion!, starring Seinfeld’s Jason Alexander.

Billie Lourd (Hannah)

Hannah is the sixth character Billie Lourd has played in the AHS universe (or the seventh if you count her episode of American Horror Stories). She made her acting debut in Murphy and Falchuk’s more comedic (and more network-friendly) horror TV show, Scream Queens, in 2015 — the same year she made her feature film debut in Star Wars: The Force Awakens alongside her late mother, Carrie Fisher. 

In addition to reprising the role of Lt. Connix in two more Star Wars movies, Lourd stole the show in Olivia Wilde’s Booksmart in 2019, played Debra Messing’s niece on Will & Grace in 2020, and, also in 2022, appears in the George Clooney and Julia Roberts-led rom-com, Ticket to Paradise.

Zachary Quinto (Sam)

As Sam, we have fellow AHS veteran Zachary Quinto, whose other most notable TV credits include his one-season stint on 24 as Adam Kaufman, his first starring role as Sylar on Heroes, the Joe Hill-inspired AMC horror show NOS4A2 as villain Charlie Manx, and Amazon’s animated, non-Marvel or DC superhero series, Invincible, as “Robot.” 

On the big screen, the actor is best known from J.J. Abrams’ Star Trek movies as Spock, but also gave memorable performances in the likes of Oliver Stone’s Snowden as journalist Glenn Greenwald in 2016, 2018’s Hotel Artemis as the son of Jeff Goldblum’s crime lord character, and in his co-star Joe Mantello’s aforementioned directorial effort, The Boys in the Band.

Russell Tovey (Patrick)

While Patrick is his first AHS character, Russell Tovey is no stranger to horror, having played a werewolf on the BBC’s original version of Being Human, appeared in the funny creature feature Grabbers from 2012, and starred in 2014’s Blackwood — a modernized take on a traditional English ghost story. The British actor also had a role on a couple of Arrowverse DC TV shows, made a small appearance in Muppets Most Wanted, had a regular role on HBO’s queer drama, Looking, and also starred in the queer biographical movie, Pride, in 2014. 

Leslie Grossman (Barbara)

Barbara is only the latest American Horror Story character played by Leslie Grossman, but her only other experience with the synonymous genre is appearing alongside Foo Fighters in Studio 666, having been better known for comedies — such as one of the best party movies, Can’t Hardly Wait, or Miss Congeniality 2: Armed & Fabulous. She has a prolific small screen presence, however, from her regular roles on The CW’s Popular and What I Like About You (when the network was still called The WB) and, guest spots on hits like Nip/Tuck or 2 Broke Girls, and a more recent recurring role on Hulu’s Love, Victor.

Charlie Carver (Adam)

As Adam, we Charlie Carver, who is yet another AHS newcomer, but also a Ryan Murphy veteran, having starred in his Netflix original series prequel to One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest called Ratched and the aforementioned The Boys in the Band. He made his debut joining the Desperate Housewives cast as Porter Scavo, later starred on HBO’s The Leftovers, had a recurring role on MTV’s Teen Wolf, and most recently appeared in Matt Reeves’ The Batman — all of which also starred his twin brother, Max.

Sandra Bernhard (Fran)

Stand-up comedian, singer, and actor Sandra Bernhard first appeared on AHS in the Season 8 episode, “Sojourn,” and is returning for Season 11 in the regular role of Fran, continuing her working relationship with Ryan Murphy that also includes Pose. She also worked with Martin Scorsese on 1982’s The King of Comedy, stole the show from Bruce Willis in 1991’s Hudson Hawk, appeared alongside Leslie Nielsen in 1998’s Wrongfully Accused, and is well known for her recurring roles on shows like Roseanne, The L Word, and 2 Broke Girls, to name just a few.

Isaac Powell (Theo)

Yet another AHS and Broadway veteran in the Season 11 cast — as Theo — is Isaac Powell, who just made his feature film debut in 2021 with the cinematic adaptation of the Tony winner, Dear Evan Hansen. Before then, he was seen on an episode of the 2018 Murphy Brown revival, an episode of Amazon Prime’s romantic anthology Modern Love in 2021, and, also in 2022, appeared in the coming-of-age crime thriller movie, Susie Searches.

Denis O’Hare (Henry)

Playing Henry is longtime AHS veteran and three-time Emmy nominee Denis O’Hare, who has other creepy and fantastic shows under his belt like True Blood and The Nevers on HBO, and Starz’s American Gods, as well as movies under the same category like 2009’s Quarantine, 2014’s The Town That Dreaded Sundown and found footage thriller The Pyramid, along with Shudder’s 2018 Lizzie Borden biopic, Lizzie. O’Hare actually has a very eclectic filmography that also includes Oscar winners like Dallas Buyers Club and Michael Clayton, and fun comedies like Garden State, The Proposal, and Late Night.

Patti LuPone (Kathy)

Yet another veteran of theatre, American Horror Story, and other works by Ryan Murphy is Patti Lupone, who plays Kathy on Season 11 and landed her first credited feature film role in Steven Spielberg’s 1941 before going on to star in Oscar darlings like Witness and Driving Miss Daisy. Her most notable, previous small-screen credits include a main role on suburban drama Life Goes On, recurring sports on Oz and Penny Dreadful, playing herself on HBO’s Girls, and, also in 2022, she can be seen in Netflix’s The School for Good and Evil.

Sis (Dunaway)

Making her American Horror Story debut in the role of Dunaway is Sis, who has one other screen acting credit to her name — the brief, unnamed role of “Employee” on Season 4 of the TBS sitcom, The Last O.G. in 2021. The transgender actor also made history that year when she was cast in the role of Ado Annie in a Broadway tour of Oklahoma! 

Kyle Beltran (Morris)

Another young theater performer making his AHS debut — as Morris — is Kyle Beltran, who actually made his screen acting debut more than a decade ago with two episodes of the CBS drama, Unforgettable, which he followed with a guest spot on Showtime’s The Big C before landing his first feature film in the form of 2016’s Equity. That same year, he appeared on the acclaimed web series Horace and Pete, only to return to screen acting four years later by lending his voice to The Shivering Truth and, the next year, two episodes of OWN’s David Makes Man before joining Netflix’s Inventing Anna cast earlier in 2022.

While AHS favorites like Sarah Paulson and Even Peters are nowhere to be found this year, I think fans should have no trouble warming to the talented newcomers in the American Horror Story Season 11 cast.

Actress Billie Lourd certainly had a unique experience growing up. One can only imagine what it was like growing up as the daughter of Carrie Fisher. Based on the Carrie Fisher that we all saw in interviews, it looks like being her daughter would have been a laugh riot, and Lourd confirms that humor was important in that family.

Billie Lourd appears in the new rom-com Ticket to Paradise alongside George Clooney and Julia Roberts and she gets to show her comedic chops once again. Speaking with ABC it’s remarked that Lourd is clearly comfortable in comedy, and the actress says that being funny was basically a requirement in her household. Lourd explains…

The statement is, itself, a joke, of course, but in its own way it likely proves the point to be true. It would be difficult to imagine living in the house of Carrie Fisher and not becoming funny by pure osmosis. Everybody seems to have a funny story about Carrie Fisher. Seeing Fisher in interviews, she was always ready with a joke and could have everybody both in front of and behind the camera, in stitches.

If you., somehow, were not a funny person in the Carrie Fisher household, it probably would be a nightmare. One can imagine Carrie Fisher had plenty of jokes aimed her daughter’s way, and so the only way to defend yourself would be to learn how to throw them right back at her.

While Billie Lourd initially came to our attention the same way her mother did, through the Star Wars franchise, she has branched out since then playing all sorts of roles, but one of the most memorable was her supporting role in the comedy Booksmart, where she got to really show off her ability to be funny. 

In Ticket to Paradise, Lourd will play Wren, a friend to Kaitlyn Dever's Lily, who is planning a wedding to somebody she just met. Clooney and Roberts play Lily's divorced parents, who team up to try and stop the wedding. Where Lourd's character falls into all this is unclear, but certainly the opportunity for some solid comedy from Lourd is there. 

It’s clear that Billie Lourd and Carrie Fisher had an incredibly close relationship. Lourd has continued to honor and remember her mother via social media posts, and even comments like this one, several years after she passed away. Lourd has talked about how important her sense of humor is to her because she got it from her mother. 

It’s been almost six years since Star Wars legend Carrie Fisher died at the age of 60, and her presence in the lives of so many can still be felt by the galaxy, especially the actor’s daughter Billie Lourd. The 29-year-old Booksmart star recently got married and has shared how her late mother was honored during her big day. 

Billie Lourd and actor/producer Austen Rydell tied the knot on March 12, 2022 in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico after reportedly dating for six years. When gushing about her wedding day this week, the actress (who stood in for her mother in Rise of Skywalker) shared one aspect of the ceremony that was especially “touching.” Lourd shared that Carrie Fisher’s “two best friends” actually officiated her wedding. She said this about it: 

Having her mom's closest friends at the altar was not the only tribute to her mother either. As previously revealed by Billie Lourd, her dress was also inspired by the Princess Leia icon. Her custom off-the-shoulder Rodarte dress was designed by Kate and Laura Mulleavy, who she learned about via a 2014 interview with Carrie Fisher. Apparently, when it came time to choose a wedding dress, they were the “first people who came to mind.” 

Additionally, her shoes were actually picked out by her father Bryan Lourd because they reminded him of shoes she would wear back in the ‘90s. Lourd and Carrie Fisher got married themselves in 1991 ahead of Billie Lourd being born the following year, so it’s kind of perfect. For Billie’s “something blue,” the actress wore her mom's favorite ring, which is a blue fire opal as well. 

So while the late comedian and actress could not be there for her only child’s wedding day, she was most certainly there in spirit and had a huge influence on the choices being made by the bride. While speaking to People about her wedding at the Mujen Summer Kickoff party in LA on Wednesday, she was giddy while talking about her new husband. In her words:

Celebrity weddings are usually a glamorous affair, and Billie Lourd’s recent nuptials are no exception to that rule. But while her beachside vows were certainly romantic, she also found a sweet way to personalize her wedding dress and honor Carrie Fisher on her big day. 

When the Star Wars alum and Disneyland aficionado married Austen Rydell on Saturday, March 12, she looked stunning in a custom Rodarte gown. She happily showed off photos from the big day on her Instagram account in multiple posts – and in one, she made sure to shout out the team that helped make her dream wedding dress a reality. While the Rodarte gown itself is undeniably breathtaking on an aesthetic level, Billie Lourd’s decision to enlist Kate and Laura Mulleavy’s help to design it carried a special meaning. She told Vogue that she discovered the designers in 2014 after they interviewed Carrie Fisher. Lourd said she’s not only a fan of their work, but she felt a “strong connection” to them because of their link to her mother. 

It’s not a surprise that Billie Lourd found a special way to carry her mom with her down the aisle – she has consistently honored her throughout the years since her death in 2016. She helped keep Carrie Fisher’s Star Wars legacy alive by standing in for her in a key Rise of Skywalker scene. And when she threw out the first pitch at the Dodger’s Star Wars night in 2018, she donned a Leia-esque hairstyle for the occasion. 

The actress has also been open about the profound impact her mother had on her life, some of which has become more meaningful after she became a mom herself. Last year, she shared the good and bad life lessons she learned about navigating her career and parenting. And she’s already making sure that the When Harry Met Sally... alum's impact lives on in her family – she commemorated last year’s May the Fourth by sharing a photo of her young son watching his grandmother in Star Wars: A New Hope. 

Even though it’s been more than five years since Carrie Fisher left us, Billie Lourd has admitted that she still struggles to define the grief she feels at her loss. It can’t have been easy to experience such a major life moment without her mother by her side, so it’s extra heartwarming to know she was able to find some connection to her on the big day. 

Now that Billie Lourd has tied the knot – and looked fabulous while doing it – she’s got some other exciting moments to look forward to. Ticket To Paradise, her movie with Julia Roberts and George Clooney, is among the 2022 new movie releases we’re looking forward to the most.

But when your parent was one of the most famous actors on the planet, associated with a legendary franchise set in a galaxy far, far away, contending with your grief can be extra difficult, compounded by the fact that too many people keep asking you how you are doing, even though the reality of that answer changes by the hour. Our beloved Carrie Fisher died five years ago today, December 27, and her daughter Billie Lourd took to Instagram to express her complicated feelings about the loss, while answering the question she says she always gets from fans and followers. It makes all the sense in the world. 

As Billie Lourd points out in her tribute post to her late mother, defining “grief” is nearly impossible, because it’s something different for everyone who is going through it. And the feelings that you might be having about a lost loved one on a particular day, or in a particular hour, can change drastically with the arrival of a fresh memory, or the reminder of an experience, both happy and sad. 

Carrie Fisher was only 60 years old when she died at UCLA’s medical center after becoming unresponsive on a flight back to Los Angeles following the European leg of her book tour. Perhaps contributing to the compounded grief of her mother’s death, Billie Lourd also lost her grandmother, Debbie Reynolds, the day after Carrie passed. On December 28, a distraught Reynolds reportedly said, “I want to be with Carrie,” then suffered a stroke that led to her death in Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. That’s a one-two punch of devastation that we know Billie Lourd must still be dealing with to this day.

Carrie Fisher’s death was deeply mourned by the Star Wars community, who looked forward to her participation in the final feature in the rejuvenated trilogy, Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. It was especially sweet and tender because Fisher shared the screen with Billie Lourd in the new Star Wars films, and passed the family legacy down from one generation to the next. Billie Lourd continues to act in a mixture of film and television projects, holding down roles in the American Horror Story series. Her next major project is the romantic comedy Ticket to Paradise, which is coming out in 2022 and co-stars Kaitlyn Dever, Julia Roberts, and George Clooney.

One of the most basic, primal instincts of a parent is to protect their kids and, in today's society, technology like the Internet and social media add a lot more layers and complications to that basic need to protect. Celebrity parents have it the hardest, as they have to contend with protecting their kids from the press. George Clooney, who has 4-year-old twins with wife Amal, recently got candid about the media sharing snapshots of his children shortly after photos of Billie Lourd’s 1-year-old were published.

While some parents, and even celebrities, openly post about their children and put their faces on social media, a lot choose not to to do so. The Internet is a huge place, and privacy is almost impossible to come by, which is why celebrities like Katherine Schwartzeneggar and Chris Pratt find creative ways to post about their baby while keeping their privacy intact. George Clooney, in an open letter to Daily Mail and other similar media outlets (via Today), asked publications not to publish pictures of his twins. While publications printing or posting pictures of celebrities’ children isn’t new, it seems clear that the picture of Billie Lourd’s child was posted without consent and without respecting the parents’ desire for privacy. Lourd has posted pictures of her child on her Instagram, but her 1-year-old baby, Kingston, always has his face covered by an emoji or is facing away from the camera. Billie Lourd, while also being an actress herself, is Star Wars icon Carrie Fisher’s daughter and her son is Fisher’s only grandchild at this time. With a legacy like that, it's no wonder news outlets would want to publicize the child, but she's shown on social she'd prefer images to roll out in a way that makes her comfortable, like the post above. 

George Clooney’s twins have a similar legacy, being born to an A-List actor and an international human rights lawyer. In his open letter, Clooney, further expressed concerns over the safety of his children if their faces were to be published. Here it is in his own words:

But hopefully, the Tender Bar director can sleep a little easier knowing he’s made his position clear. At this point, it remains to be seen how news outlets will respond to his appeal and potentially address how this moving forward.

Billie Lourd is basically third generation Hollywood royalty. Her grandmother was Debbie Reynolds and her mother was Carrie Fisher. Growing up had to be a truly unique experience being raised by Carrie Fisher, and Lourd, who is now raising a child of her own, admits that she learned a lot growing up as the daughter of Carrie Fisher, though not all of it was good.

Carrie Fisher was fairly open and honest about her life, even writing about her struggles with substance abuse in books. But that doesn’t mean that growing up as Carrie Fisher’s daughter was all bad. It perhaps says a great deal about Billie Lourd’s relationship with her mother that she sees Carrie Fisher’s statement about laughing at life as an “alcoholic’s excuse” but she makes the decision to look not at the negative connotations of that, but rather to focus on how the same idea can be used in a positive way. 

It’s clear that Billie Lourd misses her mother. We frequently see tributes to Carrie Fisher posted on Lourd’s Instagram. At the same time, the woman who is now a working actress while raising a child, admits that if her mother was still around she might not be able to do some of the work she’s been able to do. Even before Billie Lourd was a parent she was a caretaker as she needed to spend a lot of her time making sure her mother was ok. It’s possible even this helped her learn how to become a parent in her own way.

Most of us learn how to be a parent from our own parents. We find ourselves falling into the same patterns as adults that we saw our own parents in as children. We can even find ourselves saying the same words. Sometimes we can learn that what our parents did really worked, but Billie Lourd has also learned where to draw the line and do things differently...

The relationship between any parent and child is certainly a complicated one, some more so than others. It seems that, on the whole, Billie Lourd is happy with the way her own mother raised her. She clearly misses her a great deal. But Carrie Fisher may live on in some of the things Billie Lourd teaches her own child.  

After previously offering fans a thematic teaser video that hinted at fan-favorite characters and settings returning, American Horror Stories is finally showcasing itself in full glory with the brand new trailer seen above. Considering we're only a week out from release, it's wild to only now have any clear idea of what the new anthologized spinoff will deliver, but I will 100% sign for that delivery and then some. As cool as it would have been if the trailer was twice as long, there's more than enough to keep fans sated while still leaving them hungry for more.

Right away, the trailer provides further visual proof that at least one American Horror Stories episode will take place in the famed Murder House setting first introduced in Season 1, and then revisited in later seasons. While there's no sign of Dylan McDermott and Connie Britton's Ben and Vivien Harmon, we do see a new batch of characters being harassed by the infamous Rubber Suit...Person. (It's unclear who will be donning that costume this time around, with a female form promoted in the previous teaser.)

Perhaps most importantly for my own tastes, the American Horror Story trailer also features the long-awaited return of the franchise's freakiest little monster, the Infantata! Let him rise again!

Assuming this isn't just stock footage being reused from a previous appearance, the late actor Ben Woolf won't be handling the Infatata performance this time around. But it's still awesome all the same, and I'm hoping it means we'll also see the returns of Matt Ross' Dr. Charles Montgomery and Lily Rabe's Nora Montgomery.

Some familiar faces that DO show up in the trailer include John Carroll Lynch, though seemingly not as either Freak Show's Twisty the Clown or 1984's Mr. Jingles. As well, we see multi-season vets Billie Lourd and Matt Bomer in varying capacities, with one early Lourd moment making it look like there might be some Coven-level magic on the way. And while American Horror Story: Roanoke is arguably the least-appreciated season of the nine released so far, let's all put our hooves together for the return of Piggy Man!

Though he's not an American Horror Story vet, motherfucking Danny Trejo is on board as a murderous Santa Claus, so we might as well start theorizing that his Christmas mascot is connected to the drunken Santa that Ian McShane brought to the table back in Season 2. Here's hoping this means we'll see way more Danny Trejo in this franchise's future, too.

American Horror Stories is set to debut with back-to-back episodes on FX on Hulu on Thursday, July 15, so gather all your best and slimiest S&M gear and hunker down. Those who want something a little less horrifying can surely find something among the other 2021 Summer TV releases.

The question of just what is the best attraction at Disneyland Resort is an unanswerable question. There are many different opinions on the topic and there are valid arguments to be made about many different options. It is always interesting to see just what different people think are the best attractions, just because it can tell you a lot about the person. Of course, sometimes people can be a bit biased, or at least appear that way. Such is the case with Star Wars actress Billie Lourd, the daughter of Carrie Fisher, who says Rise of the Resistance is the best ride at Disneyland, though just by a little bit.

Billie Lourd recently visited Disneyland Resort with some friends and, as you do, she posted some pictures to her Instagram. While she only posts a series of hashtags, those hashtags do spell out that she thinks Rise of the Resistance is the best ride at the park, though she also has some serious love for Soarin. Check it out.

On the one hand, it's easy to assume that Billie Lourd thinks Rise of the Resistance is the "best ride ever" simply because she was in the sequel trilogy, and is the daughter of one of the franchise's biggest stars. Of course, even if that weren't the case, it's hard to argue that Rise of the Resistance isn't an awesome attraction. It has a size and scope that is simply unmatched by other theme park attractions, Disney or otherwise. Lots of people who didn't grow up with Princess Leia as their mom think Rise of the Resistance is the best ride ever.

It's unclear if the voice being heard in the Instagram video belongs to Billie Lourd or somebody else, but somebody dropped an F-bomb in the middle of a Disney ride during Rise of the Resistance. She can be pretty easily forgiven as she's certainly not the first to be blown away by the massive AT-AT Walkers in the ride. They are incredibly impressive. It's hard not to see Rise of the Resistance at the best in the park when seeing that.

And clearly, Billie Lourd is a brilliant and right thinking woman whose opinion can be trusted, because she knows that Soarin' is also a great attraction that is still one of the best at Disneyland Resort, even with a technological marvel like Rise of the Resistance in the running. One can only assume that she would also agree that Soarin Over California is the superior version of the attraction. Soarin' Around the World is still pretty good though.

Billie Lourd looks like she had an excellent time at Disneyland Resort. Any trip that includes Rise of the Resistance, Soarin, Thunder Mountain Railroad and the Incredicoaster is a good trip. It really is the happiest place on earth.

In December 2016, the world lost an icon, with Carrie Fisher passing away at the age of 60. But her legacy lives, and obviously that includes a continually-growing fanbase for her most famous character, Princess Leia Organa from the Star Wars franchise. Well, it looks like we can count Fisher’s grandson among that fanbase, as Billie Lourd, Fisher’s daughter, shared a picture of her son watching the actress’ debut as Leia. Anyone else’s eyes getting a little watery?

In 1977, moviegoers visited a galaxy far, far away for the first time, with Carrie Fisher starring alongside Mark Hamill, Harrison Ford and many more in Star Wars: A New Hope. 44 years later, Kingston Fisher has now joined the ranks of people who’ve seen Leia’s first appearance… even though it’s doubtful he’ll end up remembering this experience. Talk about introducing someone to the Star Wars franchise early! With Kingston Fisher having been born in September 2020, he’s not even a year old yet, and already he’s been exposed to the conflict between the Rebel Alliance and Galactic Empire. Again though, surely Billie Lourd will need to show her son A New Hope again in a few years for the epic story to really sink in. Still, at least Lourd used this year’s May the Fourth to introduce him to Princess Leia, one of the sci-fi genre’s most popular heroines.

It’s worth noting that Star Wars doesn’t just run in this family from Carrie Fisher’s time in the Original and Sequel trilogies. Billie Lourd has also taken part in this franchise, playing Lieutenant Kaydel Ko Connix in The Force Awakens, The Last Jedi and The Rise of Skywalker. Lourd also stood in for her mother during Episode IX’s flashback depicting Leia and Luke training after the events of Return of the Jedi. Perhaps a few decades from now, and assuming he decides to become an actor, maybe an opportunity will arise for Kingston Fisher to appear in a Star Wars movie or TV show.

For now, the Star Wars franchise has entered a new era following the conclusion of the Skywalker Saga. While there are several movies on the way, including Patty Jenkins’ Rogue Squadron and yet-to-be-revealed cinematic tale being directed by Taika Waititi, there’s a lot more to look forward to on the TV front, from premiered shows like The Mandalorian and The Bad Batch (as of today) to forthcoming shows like The Book of Boba Fett and Obi-Wan Kenobi. Combine all those projects with various video games, novels, comic books and other tie-in material, and Star Wars fans won’t have any trouble finding content to enjoy.

The last role Carrie Fisher filmed footage for was, perhaps fittingly, General Leia Organa in 2017’s Star Wars: The Last Jedi. Despite this, movie magic allowed for her character to appear one last time in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker.

Regardless of whether you knew Carrie Fisher from Star Wars or from other roles, or maybe even as an author, it’s impossible to deny the impact she had on several generations of fans. It probably goes without saying, but it we will be mourning her loss for years to come and celebrating the work that she gave us while she was here.

An altercation took place at the home of actress Billie Lourd which resulted in Los Angeles police responding to a "shots fired" call to a property owned by the Star Wars actress. Luckily, nobody was hurt, and it does not appear Lourd was actually home at the time. The conflict took place between a pair of construction workers who are currently working on the property, although, at this point the shooter has reportedly not been apprehended.

Exactly when this all took place is unclear, but according to TMZ, there's a massive construction project currently going on at the home of Billie Lourd. A worker was fired from the project, and got into some sort of "conflict" with another construction worker. He pulled a rifle on that worker, fired at the ground, and then fled. It seems likely the altercation stemmed from the firing, but even that is unclear at this point. Nobody was injured in the incident and the police are looking for the suspect. One would think that unless the suspect has gone into hiding, he will be found and this incident will be dealt with, since his identity is almost certainly known.

While emotions can certainly get heated when somebody is fired, the fact that this whole thing escalated to the use of fire arms is slightly terrifying. While nobody was hurt, certainly people could have been seriously hurt. Whether the suspect brought the rifle with him specifically for this purpose, or just grabbed it in the heat of the moment is unknown, but that will likely have some bearing on how serious this incident is taken by police.

The construction project itself is an interesting one. Billie Lourd owns the former homes of her mother, Carrie Fisher, and her grandmother, Debbie Reynolds, which were located on adjacent parcels. The two performers died within a day of each other in 2016. Lourd is actually combining the properties, 3.5 acres in total. into a single estate. That makes this construction project far more than a simple remodel. The two properties are apparently worth a combined $18 million right now, which will likely only increase after all this work is completed. It's not clear if Lourd, a new mother, has been living on the property recently but she certainly was not there when this all went down.

Billie Lourd has only been acting professionally for a few years but has already put together a solid resume. She appeared alongside her mother Carrie Fisher in the Star Wars sequel trilogy, in the role of Lt. Connix, with Star Wars: The Force Awakens being her first credited role. The size of the role grew over the course of the trilogy. She also acted as a stand-in for her mother in The Rise of Skywalker. She's also been part of the ensemble cast of multiple seasons of American Horror Story and had a memorable supporting role in Olivia Wilde's directorial debut, Booksmart.

This past weekend, American Horror Story: 1984 finally became streamable on Netflix. The ongoing horror anthology series has gained no shortage of viewers throughout its nearly decade-long run, and this ninth season won over critics and audiences alike with its goofy and lovingly campy nods to nostalgic slasher flicks, mixed with the popular show's signature blend of kooky twists and turns. While the FX series was renewed for a tenth spin (plus three more seasons), fans will still need to wait a little while longer for its unannounced premiere date — notably due to pandemic-related delays.

Emma Roberts (Brooke Thompson)

As Brooke Thompson, a young woman with an intense interest in serial killers, Emma Roberts played the primary character in the latest season of American Horror Story. A former child star cast in the lead role in Nickelodeon's Unfabulous, the film-TV actress is also known for Nancy Drew, Aquamarine, Wild Child, Hotel For Dogs, It's Kind of a Funny Story, Valentine's Day, Scream 4, Nerve, We're the Millers, The Blackcoat's Daughter, Palo Alto, Lymelife, The Art of Getting By, Blow, Little Italy, and several additional seasons of AHS. Roberts also had the main role in Fox's Scream Queens.

Most recently, Emma Roberts was seen in Netflix's romantic comedy, Holidate. Additionally, she starred in The Hunt earlier this year. Next, the actress will star in the sci-fi rom-com, Robots, and the drama, Now I See You. Also, Roberts inked a deal with Hulu and she's slated to star in an adaptation of Carola Lovering's Tell Me Lies. And she will lend her voice to the upcoming animated movie, Saurus City.

Billie Lourd (Montana Duke)

Playing the part of Montana Duke, a spunky and motivated aerobics enthusiast, Billie Lourd got one of her biggest roles to date in American Horror Story: 1984. The daughter of the late Carrie Fisher, Lourd has been working hard to establish herself as a film and TV actress in the past few years. Her most notable roles to date include Scream Queens, Booksmart, and the new Star Wars trilogy. Additionally, Lourd appears in Cult and Apocalypse in addition to this most recent AHS season. She can also be seen in Billionaire Boys Club and an episode of NBC's Will & Grace.

Next, Billie Lourd is set to appear in the tenth and latest season of American Horror Story. She also welcomed a child into the world in September.

Leslie Grossman (Margaret Booth)

In the role of Margaret Booth, the new owner of Camp Redwood who's secretly responsible for the massacre in 1970, Leslie Grossman plays a convincing character in American Horror Story: 1984. Previously known for The WB sitcom, What I Like About You, Grossman first collaborated with Ryan Murphy with Popular, then appeared in the seventh and eighth seasons of AHS before starring in 1984. She also acted in Murphy productions like Running with Scissors, The New Normal, and Nip/Tuck. Her other notable credits include Can't Hardly Wait, Miss Congeniality 2: Armed & Fabulous, Spring Breakdown, Scandal, Fuller House, Dexter, Grey's Anatomy, and Charmed.

Most recently, Leslie Grossman appeared in Shrill and Love, Victor, both on Hulu. She also guest-starred on ABC's The Goldbergs, and provided a voice role in a recent American Dad episode. Next, she's expected to star in American Horror Story's tenth season.

Cody Fern (Xavier Plympton)

Playing the part of Xavier Plympton, an aerobics instructor-turned-camp counselor, Cody Fern plays one of the main characters in American Horror Story: 1984. In addition to 1984, Fern was also seen in American Horror Story: Apocalypse. He also worked with producer Ryan Murphy when he starred in The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story in the role of David Madson. He also starred in the fifth season of Netflix's House of Cards. His other credits include The Tribes of Palos Verdes and The Great Darkened Days. Additionally, in 2017, Fern wrote, directed, and starred in the short film, Pisces.

Next, Cody Fern will star in the upcoming drama series, Eden, for Stan.

Matthew Morrison (Trevor Kirchner)

As Trevor Kirchner, the activities director at Camp Redwood who fancies a fling with Montana, Matthew Morrison has a very prominent and, well, well-endowed character in American Horror Story: 1984. Most notably, Morrison starred in Fox's Glee, which Ryan Murphy also produced. He's also a prominent stage actor, notably for Broadway's Hairspray and his Tony-nominated work in The Light in the Piazza. His film credits include Tulip Fever, The Muppets, I Think I Love My Wife, Dan in Real Life, Music and Lyrics, What to Expect When You're Expecting, and Playing It Cool. Additionally, Morrison appeared in episodes of Grey's Anatomy, The Good Wife, and Sex and the City.

Next, Matthew Morrison will play The Grinch in a television special for Dr. Seuss' The Grinch Musical. Recently, in March, he appeared on the TV special, #KidsTogether: The Nickelodeon Town Hall. Additionally, Morrison starred in 2019's Crazy Alien.

Gus Kenworthy (Chet Clancy)

In the role of Chet Clancy, the resident jock of the group, Gus Kenworthy plays a character who doesn't necessarily make it through the series with his life intact. Outside of acting, Kenworthy became a silver medalist in Men's slopestyle at the 2014 Winter Olympics. He also competes in halfpipe and big air. While 1984 is by far his biggest acting project to date, he also appeared in Sharknado 5: Global Swarming and an episode of New York Is Dead. Kenworthy's other television appearances include episodes of RuPaul's Drag Race All-Stars, The Real O'Neals, and The Challenge: Champs vs. Pros.

Most recently, Gus Kenworthy appeared in a recent episode of Will & Grace. He also played the role he was born to play, Gus Kenworthy, in the sports comedy, Olympic Dreams, which premiered throughout the film festival circuit in 2019 before its digital release earlier this year.

John Carroll Lynch (Benjamin Richter/Mr. Jingles)

In the role of Benjamin Richter, i.e. Mr. Jingles, John Carroll Lynch played a former janitor of Camp Redwood who's framed for the 1970 massacre by Margaret Booth in American Horror Story: 1984. A well-established, highly versatile character actor, Lynch proved his talents in a variety of projects, though many discovered his talents through his portrayal of Twisty the Clown in American Horror Story: Freak Show and Cult. He's also known for his work in The Drew Carey Show, Zodiac, The Invitation, The Founder, Gran Torino, Shutter Island, Face/Off, One Dollar, Bubble Boy, Fargo, Grumpy Old Men, Bug, Crazy, Stupid, Love, Jackie, Close to Home, K-Ville, Do No Harm, and Body of Proof. Additionally, Lynch directed 2017's Lucky.

Most recently, John Carroll Lynch starred in Aaron Sorkin's Netflix drama, The Trial of the Chicago 7. He also appeared in Kiss Me Before It Blows Up, which premiered in Germany in September. And Lynch appeared in NBC's Perfect Harmony. Next, he'll play a lead role in ABC's procedural drama, Big Sky, which premieres on November 17th.

Angelica Ross (Rita/Donna Chambers)

As Donna Chambers, a psychologist who harbors an obsession with serial who impersonates a nurse at Camp Redwood named Rita, Angelica Ross plays an intriguing role in American Horror Story: 1984. As an actress, her breakout role came from FX's Pose, another Ryan Murphy production, where she played Candy Ferocity. She also appeared in Transparent, Claws, King Ester (which she produced), Doubt, and Her Story. She also lent her voice to Danger & Eggs. And she can be seen in episodes of the reality TV series, I Am Cait. In addition to her acting credits, Ross is also the founder and CEO of TransTech Social Enterprises, a firm that helps employ transgender people in the tech industry. She's also a self-taught computer coder.

Most recently, Angelica Ross appeared in Netflix's documentary, Disclosure: Trans Lives on Screen. Next, she'll star in the newest season of American Horror Story.

Zach Villa (Richard Ramirez)

Playing the part of Richard Ramirez, a serial killer, Zach Villa plays a menacing character in American Horror Story: 1984. A musician in addition to being an actor, Villa plays piano, drums, guitar, bass, and violin and he's the lead vocalist and guitarist in the band Clyvia. Prior to this band, Villa performed in Rebel and a Basketcase. As an actor, meanwhile, Villa starred in Destroyer, As You Like It, Cardboard Boxer, and Honeyglue. He also appeared in The Expanse, Dan is Dead, Bordertown, NCIS: Los Angeles, Archer, and Shameless. Additionally, Villa did voice work for the video games, Batman: The Telltale Series and Final Fantasy XV: Episode Ardyn.

Next, Zach Villa will be heard in the upcoming animated movie, The Adventures of Bunny Bravo.

Dylan McDermott (Bruce)

As Bruce, a hitchhiker who has taken a taken or two (or more), Dylan McDermott played a chilling role in American Horror Story: 1984. The actor is best known for his Emmy-nominated role in ABC's The Practice. And McDermott can be seen in previous AHS seasons, including Murder House, Asylum, and Apocalypse. His other television credits include Dark Blue, Hostages, Stalker, Ally McBeal, Big Shots, LA to Vegas, The Politician, No Activity, and Tales from the Crypt.

Additionally, Dylan McDermott stars in Steel Magnolias, Hamburger Hill, Twister (1989), Where Sleeping Dogs Lie, Home for the Holidays, Texas Rangers, Party Monster, Runaway Jury, The Messengers, 1994's Miracle on 34th Street, The Campaign, Olympus Has Fallen, The Clovehitch Killer, Josie, Behaving Badly, and The Perks of Being a Wallflower. Most recently, he starred in Netflix's Hollywood — another Ryan Murphy production. Currently, McDermott is filming a role in King Richard.

Lily Rabe (Lavinia Richter)

In the role of Lavinia Richter, the mother of Bobby and Benjamin, Lily Rabe played a recurring character in American Horror Story: 1984. A Tony-nominated actress for her 2010 performance in The Merchant of Venice during Shakespeare in the Park, Rabe gained greater notice for her various performances in American Horror Story. She also had the lead in ABC's The Whispers. Additionally, Rabe played Liz Cheney in Vice. Her other film credits include Mona Lisa Smile, All Good Things, No Reservations, What Just Happened, Miss Stevens, Pawn Sacrifice, Finding Steve McQueen, and Fractured. And she appeared in The Good Wife, Medium, The Wizard of Lies, and Nip/Tuck.

Currently, Lily Rabe can be seen in HBO's The Undoing. Next, the actress will be seen in Amazon Prime's Tell Me Your Secrets and The Underground Railroad. Additionally, Rabe will star in the next season of FX's American Horror Story.

Leslie Jordan (Courtney)

Playing the part of Courtney, Margaret's personal assistant, Leslie Jordan doesn't get a long stay in American Horror Story: 1984, unfortunately. An actor of the stage and screen with over a hundred credits to his name, Jordan is an incredibly persistent performer. His most notable performance was seen in Will & Grace, and he also appeared in The Help, Boston Legal, Ally McBeal, Jason Goes To Hell: The Final Friday, Sordid Lives, Hearts Afire, The Cool Kids, The Last Sharknado: It's About Time, Night Court, The People Next Door, and Pee-Wee's Playhouse. He also played several other characters throughout AHS's run.

Most recently, Leslie Jordan starred in Until We Meet Again. He also filmed a role in Strangers in a Strange Land and he'll star in the upcoming sitcom, Call Me Kat. Additionally, Jordan gained notice for a series of funny videos that he posted earlier this year.

It seems like we've been writing more obituaries than usual around here, so it's really quite lovely to be able to do a birth announcement instead. Yesterday, actress Billie Lourd and her fiancee Austen Rydell announced the birth of the couple's first child, the epically named Kingston Fisher Lourd Rydell. Lourd is the daughter of the late actress Carrie Fisher, and so you can be sure that one person who is very excited for the birth is her mother's dear friend and co-star Mark Hamill.

The Star Wars actor shared Billie Lourd's original Instagram post, a precious image of a pair of baby feet, with his own words of congratulations as well as compliments on the fantastic name, though he does misspell one of them.

It's so nice to see such a wholesome and heartwarming picture during a period where it feels like the whole world is falling apart. It's a simple picture that, among other things, keeps the privacy of a kid who is going to grow up in some amount of spotlight simply for being the grandchild of Princess Leia, but it's adorable. And also, he appears to be wearing space pajamas, and how perfect is that? Although, I'm pretty sure that is a moon and not a space station, but I could be wrong.

There's really no argument, that is an epic name. But it's a name that has everything. The child has the last names of both parents, but as separate names rather than a hyphenated single name, and also the middle name Fisher, obviously, a tribute to Billie Lourd's own mother, who friends, family, and fans are clearly still mourning. Why go with the standard three names when you can fave four, and as Mark Hamill says, when two of them are King and Lourd, you're clearly being set up for success.

While Billie Lourd is probably still most well known for being Carrie Fisher's daughter, she has been building her own resume in some memorable performances in recent years. In addition to her role in the newest Star Wars trilogy, where she got to perform with her mother, she has had roles in some of Ryan Murphy's television series including Scream Queens and American Horror Story. She also had a memorable supporting role in Olivia Wilde's hilarious Booksmart.

Here's to hoping that mom and baby are happy and healthy and that dad is making sure everybody is comfortable. And by the time Billie Lourd is in a position to resume her career, hopefully, film productions will be back at work to some degree and she'll be able to go back work. If nothing else, this was all well-timed as far as that goes. No reason to do anything other than spend time with family right now.

Namely, she tried to be close to her mother by experiencing some of Fisher's favorite things. Billie Lourd experienced her mother's favorite music, movies, and foods for the occasion. The general public has been following Billie Lourd's journey since losing her mother and grandmother so suddenly in 2016. It’s been a whirlwind five years for Star Wars fans watching the Skywalker Saga return with 2015’s The Force Awakens and then find an epic conclusion with the recent release of The Rise of Skywalker. Daisy Ridley (Rey)

When Daisy Ridley’s Rey first donned those iconic buns in The Force Awakens, it was the British actresses’ first movie role ever. Now Ridley’s one of the most sought-after stars in Hollywood and has plenty of new roles for fans to look forward to. She will be paired up with MCU’s Spider-Man Tom Holland for the long-awaited Chaos Walking. The dystopian book adaptation was originally set to be released back in 2019 but it was reportedly “deemed unreleasable”. Due to fan demand it’s now coming in January 2021. Ridley will team up with JJ Abrams once again for the fantasy thriller Kolma, to play World War II spy Virginia Hall in A Woman of No Importance and she will also narrate an IMAX original docu-film called Asteroid Hunters.

Adam Driver (Kylo Ren)

Even with his last appearance as Han Solo and Leia’s Kylo Ren put aside, Adam Driver had a massive 2019. He was in three other movies: The Report, The Dead Don’t Die and his Oscar-nominated role in Marriage Story. You’d think he’d take a break but Driver has two more movies in the works right now. He’ll play a standup comedian alongside Marion Cotillard, who will play his opera singer wife in the musical Annette. The couple finds out that their two-year-old has a unique gift. Also, he’ll be in Ben Affleck and Matt Damon’s latest writing collaboration The Last Duel. The medieval-set drama will be directed by Ridley Scott and star Affleck, Damon and Killing Eve’s Jodie Comer.

John Boyega (Finn)

The new trilogy’s Finn may have had a cryptic ending in Rise of Skywalker, but fans of John Boyega can look forward to some intriguing roles from the actor coming up. His next movie is called Naked Singularity which is a crime drama about the unraveling of a New York public defender after losing his first case. Olivia Cooke, Ed Skrein and Bill Skarsgard will also star. Boyega will also be in 12 Years A Slave director Steve McQueen’s upcoming BBC series Small Axe. The series will be about the real-life experiences of London’s West Indian between 1969 and 1982 and the Star Wars star will have a lead role in the fourth episode. He has also signed on to a Netflix thriller called Rebel Ridge from the director of the underrated horror film, Green Room.

Oscar Isaac (Poe Dameron)

Much of the Star Wars cast is steering away from anything like their most beloved roles after Rise of Skywalker, but the Poe Dameron is piloting toward it. Oscar Isaac is set to be in “Star Wars for adults” book adaptation Dune directed by Arrival and Blade Runner 2049’s Denis Villenueve. He will play Timothée Chalamet’s father Duke Leto Atreides in the star-studded epic. The actor will also be in a dark comedy called Big Gold Brick alongside Andy Garcia, Megan Fox, Lucy Hale. Isaac will also play Willam Tale in a movie called The Card Counter with Willem Dafoe, Tiffany Haddish and Tye Sheridan also on board.

Mark Hamill (Luke Skywalker)

Mark Hamill has been the central character to the Skywalker Saga for some time, but between the time he began his journey and returned to Luke with this new trilogy he has also made a name for himself in the world of voiceover. He’s famously been the animated Joker and following Rise of Skywalker the actor will delve deeper into voice work with four new projects. He’s going to play Skeletor in Netflix’s reboot of Master of the Universe, he’s a part of the animated TV show adaptation of the Image Comic Invincible with the likes of Steven Yeun, J.K. Simmons, Sandra Oh, Seth Rogen and he’ll have a voice role in the video game Squadron 42.

Domhnall Gleeson (General Hux)

So in the grand scheme of things Domhnall Gleeson wasn’t a huge player in Rise of Skywalker. He’s almost in the comedic relief of the Dark Side in the new trilogy. But, the actor has riches of talent to share outside of Star Wars and he’ll certainly do so in the near future. Coming up on April 12, he will be starring in the new HBO series Run with Merritt Wever and Phoebe Waller-Bridge. The rom-com thriller is about a pair of college exes who reunite 17 years later to fulfill their pact to disappear together. Gleeson will also reprise his role as Thomas McGregor in Peter Rabbit 2: The Runaway… sensing a “runaway” theme here.

Kelly Marie Tran (Rose Tico)

Unfortunately, much of Kelly Marie Tran’s legacy in Star Wars is clouded by controversy – first due to all the internet hate she got for being in The Last Jedi and then more after Skywalker when she was only in it for 1 minute and 16 seconds. Moving forward from Rose Tico, Tran is also following the voiceover route with two high profile roles. The actress will be a character named Val Little in Disney+’s Monsters Inc TV spinoff Monsters At Work. She’s also going to play a character in The Croods 2 coming at the end of the year amongst a cast including Ryan Reynolds, Nicolas Cage, Emma Stone and Peter Dinklage.

Billie Lourd (Lieutenant Connix)

Billie Lourd is the daughter of the late Carrie Fisher and has played the supporting role of Lieutenant Connix in the new Star Wars trilogy. The Force Awakens was her first acting role ever and she’s since become a familiar name in Hollywood. The actress really showed off her chops in Scream Queens and of course as the iconic character of Gigi in Olivia Wilde’s Booksmart. Lourd has also joined Ryan Murphy’s anthology American Horror Story in Cult, Apocalypse and 1984. Billie has been announced to be among the cast of the tenth season of American Horror Story with Kathy Bates, Evan Peters, Finn Wittrock and Home Alone’s Macaulay Culkin.

Lupita Nyong’o (Maz Kanata)

We may never see the above lovable humanoid anytime soon now that the Skywalker Saga is over, but the performance behind her Oscar-winner Lupita Nyong’o certainly isn’t going anywhere. The Black Panther actress is set to be one of the badass female agents in 355 coming next year with Jessica Chastain, Diane Kruger, Penelope Cruz and Sebastian Stan. Nyong’o will also be the lead in an upcoming HBO Max series Americanah which tells the story of a young Nigerian couple who face struggles as American immigrants. We of course also hope to see her reprise her role as Nakia in Black Panther 2.

Naomi Ackie (Jannah)

There wasn’t enough Naomi Ackie in Rise of Skywalker. Her role of Jannah brought some background to Finn’s past. She’s a fairly new actress that hasn’t had a ton of notable roles just yet. Ackie did have a role in Netflix’s The End of the Fucking World. The actress has previously been part of headlines for her involvement in the Game of Thrones prequel series called Bloodmoon. It was set 8000 years before the events of the hit television show and a pilot was shot, but it received negative reception by HBO and was effectively cancelled. Ackie is going to be in a movie called The Score which is about “small time crook” characters played by Will Poulter and Johnny Flynn who drive to a cafe to nab a big score.

Harrison Ford (Han Solo)

Harrison Ford’s role in Rise of Skywalker wasn’t much more than a cameo, but he was in the movie and he’s Han Solo, so of course he’s found a place on this list. The future of Ford’s career after Star Wars is interesting because next he’s going back to another famed role of his: Indiana Jones. The actor is signed on to star in Indiana Jones 5 and continue Lucasfilm’s plan to expand its well-known franchises. It was recently announced that Steven Spielberg is no longer directing and James Mangold will be reportedly helming instead. He’s also set to star in a television show called The Staircase which is an adaptation of the docuseries about a man who claims his wife died by falling down a flight of stairs but he’s suspected to be her murderer.

MASSIVE spoilers ahead for Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker.

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker arrived in theaters in time for the Holidays, and J.J. Abrams' second installment in the beloved franchise was more than just a movie. It was the final installment in the Skywalker Saga, and wrapped up the nine-film narrative that has spanned the past few decades. Abrams also had to complete Leia's story, despite Carrie Fisher's death in 2016. This was done through unused footage of the late actress/writer, although it turns out that her daughter Billie Lourd also stood in for her mother during one sequence.

J.J. Abrams made some big changes to Leia in The Rise of Skywalker, giving her an even deeper connection to The Force. It turns out that she did train with Luke in the ways of the Jedi, even besting him in a lightsaber duel. This sequence blew the minds of the collective fandom, and it's even more powerful knowing that Billie Lourd played the role for her mother. As Episode IX's visual Effects Supervisor Patrick Tubach recently explained:

What an intense experience. Great care was taken in order to properly include Leia in Episode IX, and craft scenes around pre-recorded footage of late star Carrie Fisher. In addition to meticulously working on the visual effects for those scenes, visual effects company Industrial Light & Magic also had to put a young Leia and young Luke into their flashback sequence.

As Patrick Tubach revealed to Yahoo!, it was actually Billie Lourd who played Leia during her training scene with Luke. This is the only time that Leia ever wielded a lightsaber in the current canon, and was a moment decades in the making. It's fitting that Lourd would stand in for her late mother, and help cement Leia's legacy. Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker did feel like a final love letter to Fisher and Leia. After all, it was supposed to be "her movie" before Carrie Fisher's sudden death in 2016.

Aside from standing in for Leia during her epic training scene, Billie Lourd also reprised her role as Lt. Connix in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. Her generations of fans haven't stopped mourning the late actress/writer, and the Star Wars community has been especially supportive of her daughter Billie Lourd. Lourd is an actress herself, playing Lt. Connix in the sequel trilogy. And she recently opened up about how excited her mother was about The Rise of Skywalker before her death.

The original trio of Star Wars actors returned for the sequel trilogy: Carrie Fisher, Harrison Ford, and Mark Hamill. Each of these actors got their own movie to star in, starting with Ford in The Force Awakens, followed by Hamill in The Last Jedi. As such, The Rise of Skywalker was originally supposed to be very Leia-centric, although her tragic death changed things. But Fisher was excited about Episode IX before her death. As Billie Lourd put it:

Doesn't that just break your heart? Carrie Fisher's name is synonymous with her role as Leia in Star Wars, and she's gave a lot to the fans over the years. She deserved to be excited for a bigger role in Star Wars: The Last Jedi. It's just a shame that we'll never see what that might have been.

While Carrie Fisher is a public persona, Billie Lourd knew the real woman behind the hair buns. She wasn't Leia, Fisher was simply her mother. And while the fans are still morning her untimely death, it's obviously been far more harrowing for her loved ones.

Billie Lourd recently wrote a beautiful tribute to her mother for Time.

Well, that's certainly a powerful sentiment. Billie Lourd understands just how much her mother, and General Leia, mean to the generations of rabid Star Wars fans out there. And since Carrie Fisher passed away at the young age of 60 years old, it's up to her daughter to carry on the legacy of the beloved heroine. Especially since she also lost her grandmother Debbie Reynolds at the same time.

Later in her article, Billie Lourd opened about her mother's role in Star Wars: The Last Jedi, and how touched she was that Leia's story would have a proper ending. She wrote,

Well, this is certainly going to get the fandom excited. It looks like Carrie Fisher's General Leia will have a fitting ending in The Rise of Skywalker. The character will be included in Episode IX through unused footage from the previous movies. What her story will entail is a mystery, but Billie Lourd is personally thrilled. Andcoming from the new keeper of Leia, that's saying something.

Lourd says the tub was one of her late mother's very favorite places, with "American Girl" being one of her favorite songs. The combination is a sweet tribute to Fisher's bombastic spirit. What's more, Lourd says she might have a Coca-Cola with her dinner, the late actress' signature drink.

She sounds great, and it should be interesting to see if Billie Lourd's career as a musician moves forward with her growing star power. The public has watched her develop as an actress, beginning with her brief role in Star Wars: The Force Awakens. And as her character Lieutenant Connix became a larger role, Lourd also booked some major gigs. That includes three seasons of American Horror Story... so far.

I'm eager to see how much Connix appears in J.J. Abrams' upcoming Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, especially since it's a character he created. While Carrie Fisher's Leia will be brought back through unused footage from the previous two movies, Abrams had the chance to work with Lourd on Episode IX. And it wouldn't surprise me if a tribute to Leia came in the movie courtesy of her Resistance character.

While Star Wars: The Last Jedi made its way to theaters after Carrie Fisher's death, her role in the movie was filmed in its entirety. As such, The Rise of Skywalker will be the first movie filmed without having Fisher on set. It's currently unclear how Leia's story will continue on through previously unused footage, but it gives the character the chance to have a true ending, and be included in the final installment in the Skywalker Saga.

Billie Lourd has just joined Will & Grace in the perfect role! The actress, who can currently be seen starring in American Horror Story: 1984 on FX is about to trade in horror for comedy, and in a heartwarming part. Carrie Fisher’s daughter and Debbie Reynolds’ granddaughter will guest star in the final season of the Will & Grace revival. Who is Lourd playing? A role that is pretty much tailor-made to fit her.

Billie Lourd has signed on to play Fiona Adler, per Deadline. Fiona is Grace’s niece through her older sister, Janet (recently played by Mary McCormack). As Janet’s daughter, Fiona is also the granddaughter of Bobbie Adler. As fans will remember, the role of Bobbie Adler was played by Lourd’s real-life grandmother, Debbie Reynolds.

All of this sets the stage for a real-life connection to the series’ fictional universe. Could you have asked for a more sentimental and sweet casting choice? I do not think so. It is just the latest touching tribute that Will & Grace has produced for the late Debbie Reynolds. After the acting legend passed away in late 2016, Will & Grace devoted an emotional episode to Grace’s mom.

Billie Lourd’s episode is set to be filmed on September 25. Fans will have a while to wait before seeing it as the final season will not begin airing until the 2019/2020 midseason. It should be well worth the patience. Now that fans know Fiona is coming onto the show, there is one big question. What brings Fiona onto Will & Grace?

Fiona reportedly arrives in search of catching up with her “cool aunt.” It sounds like there could be some bonding in store for Grace and her niece. This will be nice development, as the Will & Grace revival announced it would be heading into its final season. That's still a bit of surprising news, though, considering it personally felt like it only started yesterday. But, I digress.

The cast has explained why the show is ending. So, considering the thought that went into making that decision, you can bet Will & Grace has been just as thoughtful in crafting the storyline for Billie Lourd’s Fiona. It should give Grace a chance to reminisce about her mother, Bobbie. While also providing the opportunity for her to regale viewers with some past tales as well.

Debbie Reynolds played Grace’s mom for 12 episodes during the series’ original run. Those familiar with the real-life situation will recall that Billie Lourd tragically lost her mother and her grandmother within a day of each other.

Along with starring on Will & Grace, Billie Lourd has another real to reel life connection to her family set to happen in the coming months. Lourd will share scenes with her late mom in the upcoming Stars Wars film, The Rise of Skywalker. An air date for Lourd’s Will & Grace episode has yet to be set.

Star Wars is arguably the biggest franchise in the business, having spanned decades of filmmaking and accrued entire generations of rabid fans. And since Disney acquired Lucasfilm years back, plenty of new and exciting projects have helped expand the galaxy far, far away. But despite the standalone films and upcoming live-action series, all eyes are on what J.J. Abrams will do with Episode IX: The Rise of Skywalker.

The pressure is on for J.J. Abrams to not only conclude the current sequel trilogy, but the entire Skywalker Saga as a whole. What's more, he's also grappled with the challenge of bringing Carrie Fisher's Leia back to the screen through unused footage from the previous two movies. Abrams recently revealed that Fisher will be sharing more scenes with daughter Billie Lourd in the blockbuster. And while he originally wrote out Lourd from certain scenes to spare her emotions, she insisted. As Abrams revealed:

Well, I've got chills. Seeing Carrie Fisher share scenes with her daughter Billie Lourd in The Force Awakens and The Last Jedi was already an emotional experience, but things will be even more heightened in the wake of Fisher's death. Because it's like she'll be brought back to have final moments with Lourd's Lt. Connix on screen.

When Carrie Fisher passed away in December of 2016, shortly after wrapping her role in Star Wars: The Last Jedi. So while Rian Johnson's sequel was able to use Leia as intended, it was unclear if/how the General would have a role in Episode IX. Luckily, there appears to be enough leftover footage from Fisher's last two appearances, which will be used to complete Leia's story once and for all.

Billie Lourd's role as Lt. Connix has been mostly tertiary, with the 26 year-old actress getting just one quick line in The Force Awakens. Connnix's role was eventually expanded in The Last Jedi, as she was instrumental to Finn's escape to Canto Bight and Poe's mutiny in the film's second act. And from J.J. Abrams' comments to Vanity Fair, it looks like she'll get more screen time in The Rise of Skywalker, even physically touching her late mother's character in the process.

Leia's role in The Rise of Skywalker will likely remain one of the most talked about aspects of the movie ahead of its release. The character had an unpredictable outing in The Last Jedi, so it seems like anything is possible for the final installment in the Skywalker Saga.

Following her tragic death, there was a question of what Carrie Fisher’s passing meant for her character Leia Organa in the next Star Wars film. Lucasfilm eventually made it clear that the role would not be recast, nor would Leia be a CGI creation, as she was in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. Instead Leia’s story would be concluded using unused footage from Star Wars: The Force Awakens and Star Wars: The Last Jedi.

But that may not be the only way Leia returns in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. That’s because a new rumor claims that Carrie Fisher’s daughter Billie Lourd, who also plays Lieutenant Kaydel Ko Connix in the sequel trilogy, may be a stand-in for the late actress in December’s concluding chapter of the Skywalker Saga.

However, this rumor goes beyond just Billie Lourd playing her mom’s stand-in in the film. This is firmly in the realm of rumor and speculation at the moment but, if true, it could constitute a spoiler, so proceed with caution.

According to MakingStarWars.net, sources have claimed that although Carrie Fisher’s General Leia was never recast for Star Wars: Episode IX, Princess Leia was, and Billie Lourd will be the stand-in for Carrie Fisher’s Princess Leia in scenes that will be brought to life with the help of CGI.

The General/Princess Leia thing might seem like an odd distinction, but it tracks with other rumblings that would support the need for a Princess Leia stand-in. MakingStarWars.net’s Jason Ward has heard that there is a flashback sequence in The Rise of Skywalker involving Luke Skywalker and Princess Leia post-Return of the Jedi.

In this sequence, Anakin Skywalker’s progeny are having a pivotal conversation that could supposedly change our perspective on the characters and events in the trilogy. The speculation is that this conversation pertains to some sort of premonition and that it influences Leia’s choice not to pursue becoming a Jedi.

The existence of such a scene would necessitate Leia be brought to life in a different way, assuming Carrie Fisher didn’t film footage for a young Princess Leia prior to her death. So in this instance, Billie Lourd could either be actually playing Princess Leia in a flashback or acting as a stand-in for a scene that will be created using CGI.

There would be precedent for this too. In Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, actress Ingvild Deila played young Princess Leia and was made to look like Carrie Fisher thanks to CGI. So a similar approach could be taken here, only Carrie Fisher’s daughter would be the one rocking the hair buns.

If this rumor proves true, it would also mean that someone would have to play a young Luke Skywalker. Perhaps they could just use the increasingly more impressive de-aging technology on Mark Hamill or, if they’re recasting Princess Leia with Billie Lourd, why not call in Sebastian Stan to play young Luke.

The story implications of such a flashback are quite compelling but, just on a surface level, this rumor about Billie Lourd acting as a stand-in in some fashion for Carrie Fisher is cool. While using a CGI General Leia or recasting would be perilous, this would be a way to add more to Leia’s story beyond what the unused footage contains to help close out her arc, while also honoring the actress by allowing her daughter to act as her stand-in.

There were previous rumors that Billie Lourd was going to play a young Leia in both The Force Awakens and The Last Jedi, so this may again prove false, but seeing Princess Leia again would be a nice way to close out this saga. And while she didn’t spill any details, Billie Lourd certainly sounds excited about Episode IX.

Today marks the sad anniversary of Carrie Fisher's passing. It was two years ago when the world lost the celebrated writer and actress at the age of 60, and fans continue to struggle with the death of such an iconic and beloved pop culture fixture. But the loss was the gravest for Billie Lourd, the only child of Carrie Fisher. It's never easy to lose a parent, especially one that remains such a vital part of film history. With today's sullen reminder, Lourd posted the following heartfelt tribute to Fisher on Instagram, where the famous daughter shared her troubled feelings about her mom's untimely death.

In addition to the caption posted above, Billie Lourd's Instagram address included a video of Lourd playing "These Days," one of Carrie Fisher's favorite songs, on Fisher's piano. It's a sweet, respectful remembrance, filled with tenderness and somber heart, dedicated to the woman who was taken from this world too soon, and who left a grave impact that is impossible to fill. It's a simple gesture that clearly comes with a seemingly aching soul.

As Billie Lourd admits, it's still hard to explain the sense of loss and sadness she feels with the absence of Carrie Fisher from her life. It was no secret that they shared a tight, loving bond, and Lourd was only in her early 20s when her famous mom passed away. While Fisher was never afraid to speak her mind, and she rarely had any trouble expressing herself, Lourd is still at a loss for words for what to say about her late mother. So, she opts to sing.

Like Billie Lourd, it's impossible to fully express how one feels without Carrie Fisher. As a candid, outspoken voice for mental health, addiction and the troubles of the Hollywood system, among other topics, Fisher was beloved and acclaimed as a public figure even beyond her most iconic role as Leia in the Star Wars franchise, including last year's Star Wars: The Last Jedi. It'll be a long time before the public fully processes her death.

Next month will mark two years since Billie Lourd lost her mother, Carrie Fisher, and then -- one day later -- her grandmother, Debbie Reynolds. The world knew those ladies as film icons, but to Lourd they were simply family. Lourd co-starred in two Star Wars movies with her mother, but for TV credits she's been busy with three Ryan Murphy shows. Turns out, getting cast in Murphy's American Horror Story: Cult was exactly what she needed at exactly the right time:

Billie Lourd played Winter Anderson in AHS: Cult, which aired last year. Before that, she was the amazing Chanel #3 in Ryan Murphy's Scream Queens. And, most recently, she continued with the AHS anthology as powerful witch Mallory in American Horror Story: Apocalypse.

As Billie Lourd told ET, when Ryan Murphy added her to the AHS family it gave her everything she needed as a grieving daughter. The actress said she'd love to continue into AHS Season 9, 10, and maybe beyond.

Billie Lourd has done so well with her three Ryan Murphy shows, but so far those shows are her only TV credits. For film, she appeared (with AHS co-star Emma Roberts) in Billionaire Boys Club, and she also has a role in the upcoming comedy Booksmart. She'll also reprise her role as Lieutenant Connix in Star Wars: Episode IX.

Carrie Fisher died in December 2016, but it was revealed that Episode IX will feature her General Leia Organa with unused footage from J.J. Abrams' Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Billie Lourd recently promoted that film as "magical." We're looking forward to seeing Leia back on screen one more time, but it has to be even more special for Fisher's own daughter. This December will change things up for the Star Wars franchise, as it marks the first holiday season to pass without a new entry into the galaxy far, far away. Instead, the fandom will have to wait an entire calendar year for J.J. Abrams' currently untitled Episode IX to arrive in theaters, and conclude the Skywalker Saga forever. The pressure is on for Abrams to deliver, and the wait has already been excruciating for the hardcore fandom.

Luckily, it appears that Episode IX will deliver in a way that will hopefully make the two year gap between The Last Jedi and the threequel worth while. Carrie Fisher's daughter, actress Billie Lourd will play Lieutenant Connix for the third time in Episode IX, and recently expressed just how great the upcoming blockbuster will be. As she tells it,

Well, this is certainly exciting. While Episode IX seems far from completed, Billie Lourd seems to be particularly impressed with the blockbuster's script. Considering her own experience within the galaxy (as well as Carrie Fisher's), this could be high praise for J.J. Abrams' next Star Wars installment.

Billie Lourd's comments come from her recent conversation with ET, where the rising actress discussed her various acting projects. While she's perhaps best known for her TV roles in Ryan Murphy projects American Horror Story and Scream Queens, Lourd has also been apart of the current Star Wars trilogy since The Force Awakens. While her character usually only has a bit part, it's one that has been rising during her time in the beloved space opera. Hopefully that'll continue with Episode IX-- especially since J.J Abrams created the character.

Lieutenant Connix has a quick one-liner in Star Wars: The Force Awakens, communicating some intel to General Leia during The Resistance's strike on Starkiller Base. Billie Lourd got more time to shine during The Last Jedi, helping to evacuate the base on D'Qar during its opening moments.

She also facilitate Rose and Finn's adventure to Canto Bight, and participated in Poe's mutiny against Holdo. Connix survives the final conflict in Crait, and watches in wonder as Rey saves the resistance and inspires them to continue on. Her role in Episode IX will likely be around the same size, but anything could happen with J.J. Abrams back in the director's chair.

Episode IX will likely be a very different experience for Billie Lourd than the previous two movies, as its the first main installment in the wake of Carrie Fisher's death. Lourd got to be on set with her mother for those projects, and now she (along with the generations of fans) are flying solo without Fisher.

American Horror Story is coming back to FX this fall for Season 8 under the subtitle Apocalypse, and creator Ryan Murphy is getting a lot of his previous AHS players back together for this next go-round in hell on Earth. So that we can keep fans up to date on the growing cast of the newest iteration of the popular horror franchise, we have for you now a cast list with all the confirmed actors for American Horror Story: Apocalypse, a tale that will reportedly begin with the end of the world, including new and (thankfully) returning players. Let's get started!

Taissa Farmiga

Taissa Farmiga is quite the familiar face around AHS, with roles so far in the Murder House, Coven and Roanoke seasons of the anthology series. There's no word on who Farmiga will be playing in the new season just yet, but you can probably bet the character will be pretty intriguing.

Gabourey Sidibe

Gabourey Sidibe will also be returning to AHS when Apocalypse debuts on FX this fall. The actress has already appeared in Coven, Freak Show and Hotel, playing the role of Queenie twice.

Lily Rabe

Lily Rabe will be appearing in her seventh season of American Horror Story when Apocalypse comes around in a few months. So far, she's played roles in Murder House, Asylum, Coven, Freak Show, Hotel and Roanoke, notably portraying shy nun/devil possession vehicle Sister Mary Eunice in two seasons.

Frances Conroy

Season 8 of American Horror Story will welcome actress Frances Conroy back for her seventh role in the franchise. Conroy has previously appeared in Murder House, Asylum, Coven, Freak Show, Roanoke and Cult.

Stevie Nicks

Witchy woman and acclaimed singer Stevie Nicks will be returning to AHS for the first time since her single appearance as herself in one episode of Coven, during Apocalypse. There's no word on who she'll be playing yet, or if Nicks will bring her signature "magical delights" back to the series this time around.

Kathy Bates

Ready for her fifth season of American Horror Story is Kathy Bates. After taking on amazing roles in Coven, Freak Show, Hotel and Roanoke, she's going to step into the part of Miss Meade for Apocalypse.

Sarah Paulson

Another very recognizable face to AHS fans, Sarah Paulson will be returning to the fold once more when Apocalypse gets underway. The actress is one of the few to have played multiple roles in several of the seasons she's been a part of, with work on Murder House, Asylum, Coven, Freak Show, Hotel, Roanoke and Cult under her creepy ass belt. Paulson will tackle multiple parts on this season as well, with her characters revealed as Venable, Cordelia, and Billy Dean.

Evan Peters

American Horror Story: Apocalypse will have another returning member to the ensemble in the form of Evan Peters. He's shown up in the Murder House, Asylum, Coven, Freak Show, Hotel, Roanoke and Cult seasons, portraying a whopping seven characters in that last season.

Joan Collins

This completely unexpected new addition to the AHS family was announced a few months ago, with Ryan Murphy letting everyone know that he was planning on "throwing in Joan Collins" when it came to the next installment of the franchise. We have no idea who or what she'll be playing, but I fully expect her to be dripping with jewels as she pushes someone into a pool at some point during the season.

Billie Lourd

Returning for her second major role in the franchise will be a fan favorite from Season 7: Billie Lourd. She'll be playing a character named Mallory in Apocalypse, and you can probably count on her character either being completely batshit or ending up in a batshit situation (or both).

Cody Fern

If you're looking at the young man above and don't recognize him, that's actually because this will be his first time in a season of AHS, though it won't be his character's first time in the franchise. Fern, who appeared in Ryan Murphy's The Assassination of Gianni Versace, will be playing Michael Langdon, the adult version of the antichrist baby birthed by Vivien in Season 1. With a season subtitled Apocalypse, doesn't it make total sense that the antichrist would play a major role?

Adina Porter

After a brief appearance in Murder House, Adina Porter has her first major role with AHS in Roanoke and followed it up with another strong showing in Cult. We now know that Porter's time on Apocalypse will be spent as Diana Stevens, but that's all the info we currently have on her character.

Cheyenne Jackson

Cheyenne Jackson has shown up in Hotel, Roanoke and Cult, and his characters have died every time. Will Apocalypse change his fate? Only time will tell.

Billy Eichner

Billy Eichner will, once again, be gracing AHS with his presence. He lent his talents to Cult last season, where he played two characters, but there's not word yet on the character(s) Eichner will portray this time around.

Leslie Grossman

After portraying two characters in Cult, which was her first time on AHS, Leslie Grossman is returning for Apocalypse. This time around she'll be playing a character named Coco St. Pierre Vanderbilt, who sounds super annoying and like someone we'll all want to be murdered horribly within seconds of meeting her for the first time.

Emma Roberts

Emma Roberts will be returning to the American Horror Story fold as her Coven character, Madison Montgomery, when Apocalypse hits the small screen this year. Roberts also starred in the Freak Show and Cult seasons of the franchise.

Jessica Lange

After some speculation, we now know that Jessica Lange will be back on board to play her Murder House character, Constance Langdon in Apocalypse. Lange has also appeared in the Asylum, Coven and Freak Show seasons.

Jeffrey Bowyer-Chapman

Another new addition to the AHS family this season will be Jeffrey Bowyer-Chapman, who will appear in a guest capacity. Bowyer-Chapman has shown up in Stargate Universe, Warehouse 13, Dirty Grandpa and UnREAL, among other projects.

Kyle Allen

Also new to Apocalypse? Actor Kyle Allen, who is best known for his work as Hawk Lane on Hulu's The Path.

Carrie Fisher's daughter Billie Lourd has been following in her mom's footsteps in recent years. She has a built-in fandom and a budding acting career, and has even appeared in the most recent Disney and Lucasfilm-led Star Wars films. In the time since her mother's passing, she's paid tribute to the legendary Carrie Fisher many times, and she most recently nodded back to her mother's legacy at an unexpected place: a Los Angeles Dodgers game. Lourd shared a lengthy post with fans, noting,

The slew of photos taken at the Dodgers game include some wonderful shots of Billie Lourd making faces with buns in her hair, as well as some candid photos she took with some of the players and costumed Star Wars characters who also attended the big ball game. The look is a nod to her famous mother, but is also how her Star Wars character styled her hair in the recent movies. Perhaps our favorite close-up, however, was a simple shot of the buns up close. Of course, Billie Lourd's look isn't quite as intricate as Princess Leia's, but it's still a wonderful reminder that mother and daughter were able to appear in movies together before Carrie Fisher's untimely death in 2016.

Billie Lourd has previously credited her mother for advising her to stick with acting, noting that it was her mother who noticed how comfortable Lourd was with working on set. She's said prior:

As part of the big Star Wars-oriented appearance, Billie Lourd was asked to throw out the first pitch at the game between the LA Dodgers and the San Francisco Giants. All in all, Billie Lourd's attendance at Star Wars night was a reminder that the actress has done well with following in her mother's footsteps and sticking around for the Star Wars fandom. In all honesty, that pretty much captures everything that fans have come to know and love about Carrie Fisher's public persona. Brash, fun, and downright quirky, the Princess/General Leia actress became as widely beloved for her off-screen antics as she was for her portrayal of the legendary Star Wars heroine. That picture seems to show Billie Lourd and Carrie Fisher messing around between takes on the set of Rian Johnson's Star Wars: The Last Jedi, and it definitively serves as a firm reminder that we lost a valued member of the Star Wars family when Fisher passed away in 2016.

Of course, there's another element of Carrie Fisher's legacy that isn't necessarily addressed by that Instagram post. The Star Wars _franchise is generally moving in a new direction that will hand over the hero responsibilities to a younger regeneration of character, but the saga is doing it in a slow and steady fashion. The Force Awakens phased out Han Solo, and _The Last Jedi phased out Luke Skywalker, but Leia is still part of the overarching story of this current trilogy. At this stage, we still have no idea what the Star Wars franchise will do to work around the untimely loss of Ms. Fisher (whether that may involve writing her out of the story, recasting her, or digitally replacing her), but it looks like that's one of those sad-but-important conversations that will need to take place over the course of the next year.

Of course, for now, the focus has shifted away from Leia and moved to the love of her life. The next project on the Star Wars docket is Ron Howard's Solo: A Star Wars Story, which will take audiences back in time to flesh out the earlier years of the smuggler's life.

Billie Lourd is still bouncing back from losing her movie-star mom, Carrie Fisher, and her Hollywood-icon grandmother, Debbie Reynolds, a day apart from each other in December 2016. Since Fisher and Reynold's deaths, Lourd has been candid about the complexity and depth of her grief. Still, the 25-year-old American Horror Story: Cult actress has found ways to honor her late family members with lovely tributes. For example, Lourd recently marked what would have been Fisher's 61st birthday by posting a beautiful throwback photo on social media. Check it out:

What a charming scrapbook picture of Carrie Fisher and Billie Lourd in their matching pajamas. Fisher almost looks like a completely different person from her glamorous Star Wars persona, but she seems as happy as can be with her young daughter. Lourd must have been around six or seven years old in this picture, which she shared with the more than 900,000 followers she has on Instagram.

After posting the throwback photo, Billie Lourd also shared a gallery of two pictures to show off a new tattoo she got on her ankle. It resembles one her late mother had in the same spot. The ankle ink shows a scene of a galaxy. We can surmise Carrie Fisher probably got it because of her connection to the Star Wars franchise and her legendary role as Princess Leia. Fisher's galactic scene appeared to be a colorful freehand artwork, while Lourd's modern take on the scene was black-and-white and seemed to have computer-aided precision. Take a look:

Long before the birthday throwback photo and the ankle tattoo, Billie Lourd began paying tribute to her mom when she dressed up in a Princess Leia-inspired dress for a Star Wars convention this year. From the sounds of it, Lourd is still grappling with the grief, but she is finding new ways to manage the pain. For example, during an episode of The Ellen Show last month, Lourd told Ellen DeGeneres,

This sentiment mirrored aspects of what Billie Lourd told her AHS co-star, Sarah Paulson, who interviewed Lourd this year. In the talk, Lourd mentioned that she was facing a ton of emotions over the losses. She expressed gratitude for the support she received from her mother and grandmother over the years. Lourd also mentioned that coping with her mom's death was harder than Debbie Reynolds' death, though both losses were difficult. Hopefully, she continues to grow and find ways to feel gratitude for her lost loved ones.

The Force Awakens didn't just mark Carrie Fisher's return to the Star Wars franchise after more than three decades. It also let her work with her daughter, Billie Lourd, who appeared as Lieutenant Connix. But had events played out differently, it's possible Lourd could have had a much bigger part in the movie, as director J.J. Abrams originally planned to bring her in to audition for Rey, the role that eventually went to Daisy Ridley. While chatting about how she followed Fisher and her grandmother, Debbie Reynolds, into the world of acting, Lourd revealed the following:

Looking at Daisy Ridley's resume, it's understandable why J.J. Abrams selected her to play Rey. While Billie Lourd hadn't acted before The Force Awakens, Ridley had collected a number of short film and television credits in the United Kingdom, and she made her feature film debut in the supernatural horror-thriller Scrawl. She certainly wasn't a household name yet, but with that body of work, she was unquestionably the more experienced performer. However, as Lourd explained during her appearance on Ellen, Abrams gave her the Lieutenant Connix role later on. She may have only had a few lines, but at least she can brag about being able to contribute to the Star Wars universe just like her mom.

Rather than just use The Force Awakens as a lone opportunity to see what acting was like, Billie Lourd officially kicked off her acting career with the Star Wars movie. After filming The Force Awakens, she was cast as Sadie Swenson (a.k.a. Chanel #3) in the Fox series Scream Queens, which aired for two seasons. Lourd also appearing in the upcoming movie Billionaire Boys Club, and she's currently playing Winter Anderson on American Horror Story.

As for Billie Lourd's Star Wars character, Lieutenant Kaydel Ko Connix, she was briefly seen in The Force Awakens as one of the many Resistance officers working at the organization's base on D'Qar. Connix will return for The Last Jedi later this year, which will see her alongside General Leia Organa again. Sadly, The Last Jedi also marks Carrie Fisher's last performance, as the actress passed away at the end of 2016. Even sadder is that Debbie Reynolds died a day after Fisher, so needless to say that was a difficult period for Lourd. However, at least she's helping keep the Star Wars legacy going for her mom, and hopefully she'll be back in 2019 for Episode IX, assuming Connix isn't gunned down by a First Order soldier during The Last Jedi.

Star Wars: The Last Jedi will be released in theaters on December 15, while Episode IX, the final entry of this trilogy, was just pushed back to December 20, 2019.

Ryan Murphy, Brad Falchuk and their Gang of Mischievous Miscreants are back to put their collective nose to the grindstone to deliver a new and nerve-wracking season with FX's American Horror Story: Cult. (And you don't even want to know what they do with the grindstone afterward.) After all those deadly twists and turns from last year's mega-meta Roanoke, fans are ready to see what's coming from this politically motivated and clown-heavy new season, and we're here to clue everyone in on what to expect, as well as how the weekly episodes play out. And all without any voodoo involved. Well, maybe a little.

When Will American Horror Story: Cult Premiere?

After last year's earlier-than-normal debut for Roanoke, FX and everyone else must have decided the pre-October bow was the more practical and desired time to kick things off, since it's happening again. American Horror Story: Cult will make its grand debut on Tuesday, September 5, at 10:00 p.m. ET. In case anyone thought they wouldn't have to worry about getting post-Labor Day nightmares, those thoughts are for naught.

What Have We Seen So Far From American Horror Story: Cult?

Understandably, FX was quick to put out the usual plethora of 15-second teasers, and American Horror Story: Cult produced some freaky-as-balls promos that were full of clowns and gross patterns. But fans finally got a taste of the show itself once the first trailer came out, offering up a first look at Evan Peters in his blue-haired glory. You can check that out below.

While trailers are always awesome, everybody knows that one of American Horror Story's most signature elements is the opening credits sequence. This season is far from an exception, also, as the Cult opener is chock-full of clowns and Presidential masks, cluing audiences in on the kinds of tension that will assumedly be clouding each of this season's installments.

Now all that's left to do is watch the premiere itself. And you can bet we'll be doing just that.

What's The Theme For American Horror Story Season 7?

It's every year's $64,000 question, and it's always one that gets fans pumped for the next season. As revealed during this year's San Diego Comic-Con, via a weirdly intriguing water show, American Horror Story: Cult will be about...cults. Although not necessarily just the stereotypical cults that people think of, such as Jonestown, but also cults of personality. (Plus, nothing supernatural will happen.)

Ryan Murphy initially started teasing this season by saying some form of the 2016 Presidential election would get filtered through the unadulteratedly bizarre lens of American Horror Story, though he later revised that thought to say that would just be an introduction to this harrowing story. (On one hand disappointing, since we've seen what _AHS' _take on real-world people, but on the other hand not so disappointing, for the same reason.) And it's a story that focuses on the many different issues that have come up in the U.S. over the growing rift between political parties, as well as the media attention given to that rift. For what it's worth, Murphy stated that both sides of the spectrum would get their due focus.

Once the Cult theme was revealed, it became slightly more clear that this tale would be one where Sarah Paulson's hyper-fraught Ally Mayfair-Richards is coping with fears that will undoubtedly get exploited by a titular group (probably made up of clowns) that believe in something much different from what her ideals are. And with Evan Peters' Kai Anderson as Ally's rage-filled polar opposite, we can't wait to see the kinds of obsession-plagued madness that'll ensue.

We know that part of that madness will involve certain Freak Show characters, specifically John Carroll Lynch's Twisty the Clown, who's set to appear in at least two episodes. We also can't wait to see how this season will tie into Season 8 and beyond, especially since it's supposed to be a big crossover season.

What AHS Cast Members Are Returning For American Horror Story: Cult?

Last year's American Horror Story: Roanoke, which completely changed the theme-revealing game, also went a bizarrely indirect route with its casting announcements. All of the big stars were almost exclusively revealed through random interviews from the actors themselves, but Cult went the more traditional route, with Ryan Murphy announcing the first two additions himself. (Or re-additions, as it were.) Let's take a look at the rundown now.

Sarah Paulson

While Jessica Lange used to be thought-of as THE go-to leading lady for American Horror Story, dependability continues to come in the form of Sarah Paulson. Having played lead roles from Season 2 onward, it just wouldn't feel like a year of AHS without one of Paulson going through some transformation for our eyes. With the fear-laden mother Ally Mayfair-Richards, the actress may have found her most human American Horror Story character yet.

Evan Peters

Though Paulson played a two-headed freak show act for one season, you can't get a more varied set of bonkers roles than the American Horror Oeuvre of Evan Peters, who has gone from school shooter ghost to Franken-boyfriend to the fabulous Mr. March. He'll thankfully also be back for not just the role of the manipulative Kai Anderson, but also a host of other infamous faces.

Cheyenne Jackson

First joining the American Horror Story ensemble for Hotel, Cheyenne Jackson has become something of an expected presence in this twisted world. In Cult, he'll play Dr. Vincent, a psychiatrist that will undoubtedly be more grounded and thoughtful than his previous characters.

Adina Porter

After breaking into the world of American Horror Story in a huge way for Roanoke -- both in the fake-reality segments and in the "real world" of the show, True Blood vet Adina Porter is back for Cult, and it looks like she'll again be used to being in front of a camera as news reporter Beverly Hope.

John Carroll Lynch

Across two seasons of American Horror Story, the always excellent John Carroll Lynch has played the tortured (and torturing) Twisty the Clown, as well as the clown-loving John Wayne Gacy. He'll return for Cult to reprise his role as the attention-hungry entertainer -- Twisty -- and we'll likely see his influence play a big part over the course of the season, even when he's not around.

Emma Roberts

Though Emma Roberts took a break from AHS to star in two seasons of Ryan Murphy's Scream Queens, she returned for American Horror Story cult in a limited capacity to portray another news reporter named Serina Belinda. Serina will apparently cause some friction when she gets a big and possibly unwarranted promotion over Adina Porter's character.

Chaz Bono

Chaz Bono didn't sign on for American Horror Story for the glitziest roles, having played the faux-hillbilly Lot Polk in Roanoke. And for Cult, it looks like Bono will be playing some kind of a business-minded person named Gary Longstreet. If nothing else, he's got the best last name this season.

Also reported to return for American Horror Story: Cult are fan favorite Francis Conroy, who should always be in every TV show on the air, as well as Mare Whittingham. Unfortunately, there's been no sign of who either of them will be playing, or in what capacity.

What New Actors Are Joining American Horror Story: Cult?

This season will see plenty of newcomers making their way into the American Horror Story-verse, although not all are new to Ryan Murphy-centered programming in general. The first new addition was perhaps the most intriguing one, and so that's where we'll start.

Billy Eichner

The consistently hilarious and high-volume actor Billy Eichner was the first AHS newbie announced. He'll join Cult in a recurring capacity as Harrison Wilton, and he'll likely be around for more than half of the episodes. We don't know quite what to expect just yet, but we do know that he'll have a bunch of mysterious tank tops, and that's legitimate character info. You'll know Eichner from his roles on Parks and Recreation, Hulu's Difficult People, Hairspray Live! or his extremely popular web-turned-truTV series Billy on the Street.

Alison Pill

With her last two big TV roles coming via The Newsroom and The Family, actress Alison Pill obviously decided to weird things up a notch by joining American Horror Story: Cult as Ivy Mayfair-Richards. Not much is known about the role just yet, beyond her ability to wield a knife both in and out of a kitchen setting. Currently seen in the sequel Goon: Last of the Enforcers, Pill will make a fine addition to this sordid series.

Billie Lourd

The daughter of the late Carrie Fisher, actress Billie Lourd gave audiences a glimpse of her Ryan Murphy-influenced madness on Scream Queens with Emma Roberts, and she's jumping into the American Horror Story world as Cult's Winter Anderson. Note the last name similarities with Evan Peters' Kai, and get worried about any and all kids on this show, as Winter is looking to help out mothers in need. (I can't tell if it's also worth noting her character's first name is basically the same as Sarah Paulson's Lana Winters.)

Colton Haynes

American Horror Story always welcomes dapper-looking gents, and Colton Haynes will fit in nicely as the hard-nosed Detective Samuels. It's not immediately clear what he'll be detecting in Cult, but the trailer had enough murder-looking moments to make it seem fairly obvious that he'll be trying to solve some murders. Fans who know him from his work on Teen Wolf and Arrow are likely in for a completely different character than his normal parts.

Leslie Grossman

Leslie Grossman and Ryan Murphy's professional relationship goes back to 1999, when they worked together on the dramedy Popular, and they've since worked together on Nip/Tuck and The New Normal. She joins American Horror Story: Cult as Meadow Wilton, wife of Billie Eichner's character, and those two should be a whole lot of fun to watch. Assuming they aren't playing the most evil monsters ever. (Which, really, would also be a lot of fun.)

Lena Dunham

Not meant to be longstanding within the American Horror Story: Cult world, Girls creator notorious radical feminist Valerie Solanas, who tried to murder artist Andy Warhol. She'll show up in the seventh episode -- with her name actually in the title -- and it'll be interesting to see just how heavily she plays into the story being told.

Where Can I Watch American Horror Story: Roanoke And Other Seasons?

Unfortunately, because of (fill in the blank with a reason), American Horror Story: Roanoke currently isn't available for streaming. That goes for Netflix, where the FX series has long been a home for binge-happy fans, and FX's actual website, which kept some/all of the episodes up when the season was airing. You can currently check out the first five seasons of American Horror Story on Netflix, as well as on Hulu and on Amazon Prime, and if you can't wait for the freebies, you can rent American Horror Story: Roanoke on Amazon, iTunes and other streaming retailers.

American Horror Story: Cult's big premiere is just a little over a month away, so FX is giving fans a burst of promotional material to get everyone tensed up and excited for the unpredictable new season. An official trailer has yet to surface, but several different creeptastic teasers have come out, as well as a first look at returning cast member Emma Roberts. Now, we know what some of the newest American Horror Story cast members will look like, as well as their names, but none seem to notice all the clowns around. First up is Arrow vet Colton Haynes.

Colton Haynes, who worked with Ryan Murphy on Scream Queens, is looking pretty dapper as Detective Samuels. Though we don't know for sure what he'll be investigating, it seems pretty clear that it'll have something to do with the weirdo clown creepos that have been at the forefront of American Horror Story: Cult's marketing campaign. But if he's such a good detective, why can't he see that there's one of those clowns is in the background all menacing and shit?

Here we have another Scream Queens vet, Billie Lourd, daughter of actress Carrie Fisher. She will play the character Winter Anderson, so you just know that a bunch of Game of Thrones references are going to follow her around. ("Winter is coming!" sounds like a sex joke that Ryan Murphy would be down with.) Winter doesn't look too happy or comforted to be sitting in a bed that has a clown doll on it, but one assumes she would freak out a lot harder if she saw that non-doll clown beneath the bed.

An actor best known for his comedic performances on Difficult People and Billy on the Street, Billy Eichner is an interesting choice for American Horror Story: Cult, and he's looking quite serious as the old-timey-named Harrison Wilton. Somebody should tell him to hurry up and run inside, though, since he probably won't be too thrilled to turn around to see that ghostly-looking clown there.

Former Newsroom star Alison Pill is joining the world of American Horror Story as Ivy Mayfair Richards, which is easily one of my favorite names that this show has given its characters. She doesn't look like your average butcher, but she's certainly got the weapon and the setting correct. As well as all the bloody meat. And she'd better keep that knife in-hand if she wants to live longer than the poofy-haired threat beyond the vinyl curtain.

Finally, we have Cheyenne Jackson, who is the only actor in the first looks to not be new to the American Horror Story franchise. (He was in both Hotel and Roanoke.) For Cult, Jackson will take on the role of Dr. Rudy Vincent, and it looks like he'll be in the field of psychology or psychiatry, Whatever his professional role, we should all hope that his office is on the ground floor, since those clowns outside would have to be of the supernatural variety to appear through the window like that.
