While it’s been alleged that Pitt fears being cut off from his kids permanently, a new report claims about why he’s now feeling optimistic about a reconciliation.

According to an insider, Pitt (62) has been living by a mantra that’s partially built upon the principles of “patience, resilience and persistence.” It’s for that alleged reason that the source tells In Touch Weekly that the F1 star isn’t worried about remaining disconnected from his kids forever. This unnamed individual also says Pitt has reportedly changed as a person in the aftermath of his divorce from Jolie (51). Apparently, Pitt also feels allegedly feels confident due to his sobriety:

Earlier this year, it was reported that Jolie had been doing fine in the years since her latest divorce and that she’d been “busy” with work and focused on her six kids, whom she shares with Pitt. It is strange now to remember that Fight Club, one of the best movies of the 1990s, was not always a beloved entry in lists of David Fincher's best films. The movie has become one of those titles people talk about as if it arrived fully formed as a cult classic, but according to Edward Norton, the very first wave of audience reactions was a whole lot rougher, and Brad Pitt apparently saw the storm clouds coming, too.

Norton told the story during an appearance on the Fly on the Wall with Dana Carvey and David Spade, where he looked back on Fight Club’s rocky early reception. The actor reminded the hosts that people sometimes forget the movie was a box-office disappointment before it found its audience. He also recalled the movie’s Venice Film Festival premiere, which sounds like exactly the wrong room for Fincher’s bruising, anti-consumerist fever dream. Norton explained:

That is such an incredible mental image. Two of the stars of what would become one of the most quoted movies pre-the new millennium, standing behind a hotel before a major festival premiere, looking at each other and realizing the whole thing might be about to crash into the marble floor.

Honestly, I get why they were worried. Fight Club is not exactly a polite festival movie. It is loud, nasty, funny, angry and deeply uncomfortable by design. It is a movie where the satire keeps biting, and if you drop that into the wrong room, with the wrong expectations, you are basically asking for a poor reception. If someone in that crowd actually thought they were their effing khakis, their mind must have been blown.

The funny thing is, Norton’s story makes the failure sound almost inevitable in hindsight. Not because the movie was bad, obviously. Time has handled that argument pretty well. But because Fight Club was never built to be easily received. It was built to irritate, provoke and make people laugh at things they maybe did not want to laugh at. That can age into cult status beautifully. It can also make a first screening feel like a public punishment.

According to Norton, the audience response was not subtle. He continued:

Plenty of popular '90s movies have not stood the test of time, but Norton's story says a lot about why Fight Club has. Some movies need time to find the people who speak their strange little language. Fincher’s film did not become what it is because everyone understood it right away. It became many folks' favorite of his work because, once it finally found the right audience, that audience would not shut up about it.

All these years later, Norton’s account makes the movie’s disastrous premiere feel like part of the legend. Of course Fight Club got booed. Of course people walked out. Of course Brad Pitt still knew. And despite all that, it remains one of my, and many other cinephiles', favorite page-to-screen adaptations, even if plenty of film bros still miss the point, and nearly 30 years after its release, we are still talking about it.

Another one of Brad Pitt’s kids is seeking to drop his surname, and they’ve already taken a few steps to make that happen. It was recently reported that Pitt and Angelina Jolie’s 24-year-old son, Maddox Chivan Jolie-Pitt, filed to change his last name to “Jolie.” Maddox’s plans took a major step forward when he landed a court date of September 14, at which point he’ll argue for the change. In the meantime, there’s the question of whether Brad can intervene in any way, and a legal expert is now shedding light on that.

What should be mentioned up front is that Brad Pitt (62) didn’t get involved when his daughter, Shiloh (20) filed to drop his name and only use “Jolie” in 2024. In the midst of Maddox’s attempt to file for a name change, Rachael Bennett of Sullivan Law & Associates, spoke with Us Weekly about the proceedings. According to Bennett, a senior attorney and family law specialist, it would be difficult for Brad to try to block the change even if he wanted to. Bennett laid out the reasoning as follows:

So, based on those comments, it sounds like it would theoretically be easier for the Adventures of Cliff Booth star to have an impact on the proceedings if his son were a minor. At this point, only two of the kids Pitt shares with Angelina Jolie (51) – twins Vivienne and Knox (17) – still fall within that category. Zahara wasn’t the only graduate in the family this year. 17 year-old Knox finished high school — and also dropped Brad Pitt’s last name from his diploma. It is expected that Knox and his twin sister Vivienne will also legally file to change their names when they turn 18 in July.

This sounds like a tough situation for Brad Pitt, as he’s presumably watching his children grow up and further distance themselves, but an insider said the F1 star isn’t giving up:

However, now the F1 star finds himself in a more unusual battle, facing a lawsuit from a penis cream company against his own skincare brand — and according to sources, Pitt is quite unhappy about it.

The Fight Club actor’s company Beau Domaine is being accused of trademark infringement by a California-based men’s grooming company called Beau D. According to court documents, the latter is seeking more than $75,000 in damages from Brad Pitt’s brand, as well as a court order that would prevent the actor from further using the name Beau Domaine. According to sources, it sounds like Pitt’s displeasure stems from the nature of Beau D.’s business. The insider told OK! magazine:

Beau D. was founded in 2020 by Brandon Palas, who says in court filings that the name Beau Domaine is too similar to his brand and risks confusing customers. The lawsuit says it qualifies as unfair competition under California law.

Meanwhile, Brad Pitt — who got lovey with girlfriend Ines de Ramon during a rare public outing — started his skincare company in 2022 under the name Le Domaine but underwent a major rebranding in the past year, including the name change to Beau Domaine.

The actor is now allegedly worried that the lawsuit will sully his business’ reputation by associating the A-lister with a cream that claims to “put power in your package.” The source continued:

Beau D. sells intimate care products for men and embraces provocative marketing slogans for its flagship product, the $56 "D. Cream." Instructions for the cream say to, “Rub it in for maximum moisture, smoothness and potency."

Beau Domaine, however, does not sell products directly related to the manhood, and rather uses compounds derived from his winery’s grapes combined with anti-aging molecules for skincare packages like “Brad’s Complete Routine” and other creams and serums.

Brandon Palas denies that this lawsuit was motivated by publicity, saying Beau D. approached Brad Pitt’s business on three separate occasions in an attempt to settle the matter out of court.

Now, following Pitt’s absence from his daughter’s graduation, an insider is making claims about Pitt’s feelings on rumors swirling around him.

Jolie and Pitt’s daughter, Zahara (21), graduated from Spelman College on Sunday, May 17 and her mother and several of her siblings were present for the ceremony in Atlanta. After the event, insiders alleged that Pitt’s estrangement from his child was still in effect. Yet Daily Mail also noted that Pitt purportedly could’ve attended the graduation if he’d wanted to, as nothing reportedly prevented him from being there. A source close to the F1 actor claimed he wasn’t pleased with the speculation surrounding him, saying:

Zahara Marley Jolie (21) committed to Spelman College in 2022 and, at the time, Jolie celebrated her daughter’s enrollment with a social media post. The Maria star was also present when Zahara formally pledged Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. Simultaneously, fans also noticed that Pitt didn’t attend the event, sparking rumors about where the Oscar winner stood with his kids. Reports on Pitt’s relationship with his kids have varied over the years and, another source now claims he remains distant from them due to their mother:

Rumors about an alleged “campaign of alienation” come years after Angelina Jolie’s lawsuit against Brad Pitt. In 2021, the Academy Award-winning actress accused Pitt of physically and verbally abusing her and their children while having an outburst on a plane in 2016. Pitt and his legal team have since denied those allegations. By 2022, however, it was still reported that Pitt had a “pretty good” relationship with his kids and that he’d have dinner with the younger ones. Aside from Zahara, he and Jolie share Maddox Chivan (24), Pax (22), Shiloh (19) and twins Knox and Vivienne (18).

In the years that followed, there were familial developments that seemed to suggest the children weren’t so close to Pitt. Aside from his absence from Zahara’s sorority induction, many also took note of Shiloh legally dropping Pitt’s last name. Zahara also doesn’t use his father’s surname. Despite the purported distance between the father and his children, an insider alleged in 2025 that Pitt was “desperate” to reconcile with them.

Brad Pitt himself hasn’t officially spoken out about where he stands with his kids, as the actor has historically kept much of his personal life private. Something that is known, however, is that he’s been dating Ines de Ramon since 2022. As far as Pitt’s relationship with his kids, it remains to be seen whether anything will change in that regard.

Sometimes you have to see it to believe it, and sometimes, if you’re Brad Pitt, seeing it still doesn’t compute. That’s what happened when Leonard DiCaprio’s dad and stepmom came to visit him on the set of Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. The actor recalled the humorous incident involving Pitt mistakenly thinking his parents were extras in the original film way back before the Cliff Booth sequel came together. Yes, really.

The mix-up occurred when the two were driving around the set and took a corner at Musso & Frank’s on Hollywood Boulevard, when they spotted his parents on the sidewalk. In a video interview with Time, DiCaprio fondly remembered his dad’s set visit for the excellent Tarantino movie when he told Pitt:

DiCaprio explained how his father grew up in San Francisco and Los Angeles, where he was part of the hippie counterculture, while his stepmother is a sikh. During his youth, his dad hung out with the 1970s underground art movement in Los Angeles. He shared how he told Pitt that that was his dad and stepmom, even gesturing to them. The actor laughed about how his parents’ appearances were perfect for the film.

Except DiCaprio’s co-star thought he was messing with him, and even told him, “Yeah, right.” The actor calls the moment amazing and describes it as one he’ll never forget. It’s an endearing story that fans will definitely remember. He recalls telling Pitt:

This is not the first time Leonardo DiCaprio has shared behind-the-scenes stories about the acclaimed Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. The actor has previously shared about improvising fan-favorite moments, such as the improvised trailer freak-out scene. This story was also shared by Quentin Tarantino, who was hesitant about the idea, though he later admitted that it actually worked. Further proof that DiCaprio’s coworkers should believe what he says.

Despite the fondness that the actor speaks of the role, he will not be returning to the role for the already-wrapped Once Upon A Time in Hollywood sequel. The actor previously confirmed he will not be returning.

The film is titled The Adventures of Cliff Booth and follows Brad Pitt’s character, with David Fincher directing instead of Quentin Tarantino. It will also be heading directly to Netflix. It takes place eight years after the events of OUAIH and has new actors joining Pitt for this fresh adventure. However, fans can rest assured that some favorites will be returning, such as Justified star Timothy Olyphant as James Stacy.

As for fans of DiCaprio, they don’t have to worry. While the actor doesn’t have a 2026 movie release, he is currently filming a Martin Scorsese film called What Happens at Night with co-star Jennifer Lawrence. A release date has not been given for the DiCaprio-Lawrence movie, but I’m stoked to hear whether or not he brought his parents to set again!

According to a source, if people approach him nicely and respect his personal space, he’s totally cool with chatting or taking a photo. It’s hard to blame him, really. Social media can be useful for promoting movies, but it also comes with its downsides. One awkward post or poorly timed picture can blow up and lead to a whole week of headlines. Since the 12 Monkeys star already gets plenty of attention without trying, jumping on Instagram or TikTok might just create more chaos in his personal life than it’s worth.

Maybe he eventually changes his mind. Sandra Bullock, his longtime friend, recently joined Instagram, according to the outlet, so the holdout club is apparently losing members. But if this report is accurate, the Moneyball lead is still not ready to trade old-school movie-star distance for a login screen. For now, the A-lister allegedly sees the internet goldmine and would rather leave the shovel in the shed.

Now the ongoing fight over their French winery is back in the spotlight, and somehow, even the lawyers are catching a little shrapnel along the way.

Per a report from TMZ, the newest batch of filings isn’t just about the winery itself, but about when this case should actually go to trial. And that’s where things start to get a little sharp. Pitt sued Jolie in 2022, alleging she sold her stake in the property to a third party without his approval, which he claims disrupted a business he spent years building. Jolie, on the other hand, maintains she had every right to move forward with the sale.

Pitt is pushing for the trial to happen sooner rather than later, arguing that the ongoing dispute has prevented him from fully enjoying the property. In court filings, he claims he’s been deprived of the “quiet enjoyment” of the estate, which, considering the price tag and history attached to Miraval, is not exactly a small complaint.

Jolie’s side isn’t buying it, as her legal team argues there’s no real urgency here, and that moving the trial from the 2026 calendar schedule to slightly later, into September 2027, is more than reasonable. The Changeling actress’s response doesn’t directly engage with the comments about her legal team's age. Still, her team does push back on another claim from Pitt’s side, specifically the idea that a later trial date would conflict with Jewish High Holidays. According to Jolie’s filing, Pitt didn’t actually identify any of his attorneys who would be affected, which undercuts the argument a bit.

A judge still hasn’t ruled on the competing timelines, and until that happens, the case continues to inch forward at its current pace. Meanwhile, the broader dispute over Miraval, and what happens next with the winery, remains unresolved. If the latest filings are any indication, this fight isn’t wrapping up anytime soon.

Kim Kardashian is arguably one of the most recognizable celebrities on the planet, but that’s apparently not enough to earn her respect amongst some in Hollywood. One of the biggest criticisms she and the rest of the Kardashian-Jenner family receive is that they’re famous for being famous, but is it possible that Kim’s new romance with Lewis Hamilton could change that due to his friendship with F1 co-star Brad Pitt?

The Kardashians star may be making moves into the TV and movie corner of the entertainment industry now, with All’s Fair getting a Season 2 renewal and an “unapologetically R-rated” Netflix comedy in the works, but reality TV is Kim Kardashian’s bread and butter. That’s not enough for some Hollywood circles, which is allegedly an issue for her. Radar alleges:

Now that an F1 sequel is in the works, with Kim Kardashian’s new beau Lewis Hamilton working with Brad Pitt and F1 director Joseph Kosinski on a sequel, the SKIMS boss allegedly thinks it’s only a matter of time before she and Hamilton start going on double dates with Pitt and his longtime partner Ines de Ramon. According to Radar, Kardashian allegedly thinks this could earn her more clout, as the source claimed:

Lewis Hamilton had a major role in F1, and not just by playing himself in the movie. His involvement in F1 as a producer was reportedly integral in coercing Brad Pitt to join the movie. He also worked closely with director Joseph Kosinski, going through the script line-by-line to make sure every detail was as authentic as possible.

This has reportedly led to a close friendship between the Formula One racing driver and the Hollywood A-lister, but we’ll have to see if that translates into double dates.

Kim Kardashian and Lewis Hamilton have known each other for over a decade, but their celebrity relationship didn’t begin until early 2026. The couple were seen arriving at hotels together in the Cotswolds and in Paris before sitting next to each other at the Super Bowl.

While they haven’t bothered to hide when they’re vacationing together — sharing pics from the same location, even if they don’t include shots of each other — they’ve stopped short of speaking publicly about their budding romance, with Lewis Hamilton refusing to answer questions about Kim during a racing press conference.

It’s hard to believe it’s been almost 30 years since Fight Club was released in theaters. The movie has truly stood the test of time over the last three decades and has to be seen as a modern movie classic. It’s the sort of movie that fans have likely watched dozens, if not hundreds, of times, but there are certainly those who have never seen Fight Club. What's more, there are fans who love the movie who have probably never seen it on a big screen.

Fight Club Is Returning To Theaters

That’s set to change as a new 4K transfer of Fight Club will make its debut in theaters this year. Unfortunately, the opportunity to see this will be limited to one day only, April 22. Even event screenings often run for a couple of days, so this one is even more limited than most. Based on showtimes on Fandango, there is only a single showing of the film, so there aren't even multiple options on the one day.

As somebody who did see Fight Club in theaters back in 1999, I can say it was an experience I still remember. Although I’ll admit part of that may be due to not knowing the story or the ending; the Fight Club ending is so well-known at this point that some know it even without ever seeing the film. Which is not to say everybody agrees on Fight Club's ending. Maybe discussing the ending is the reason none of us were supposed to talk about Fight Club.

At the same time, seeing it in a theater full of people who have already seen Fight Club has a lot to be said for it too. The communal experience of watching a classic movie with other people who love it can be a lot of fun as everybody experiences those memorable moments together.

Fight Club Is Getting A 4K Blu-Ray Release Too

For those who miss out on the theatrical exhibition of the new 4K version of Fight Club, or who just want to own it, there’s also good news as pre-orders are now open for a 4K Steelbook version. Plus the movie will also be released Digitally in 4K starting May 12.

Fight Club is one of those movies that seem to generate an endless amount of fan conversation. Does it glorify the toxic masculinity which is presents, or is it a condemnation? The movie maybe hasn’t aged all that well in a few ways, but that may be exactly why the movie is still talked about, as there may be no film from the late 1990s that is more “of its era” than Fight Club.

The Batman Part II has been a movie that fans have been waiting for for years, and while the release date of the project has been delayed multiple times, it did appear that production was set to get underway soon ahead of the film’s 2027 release date. However, a new rumor claims there’s a problem as one key role has yet to be cast.

Brad Pitt And Daniel Craig Were Reportedly Offered The same Batman Part II Role

The Batman Part II has been putting together a star-studded cast, which includes Sebastian Stan and Scarlett Johansson. According to World of Reel, there’s at least one more role to fill that is looking for a big name, as both Brad Pitt and Daniel Craig have reportedly considered it, though both have allegedly passed. As such, the role is still unfilled. What’s most interesting is that the part isn’t a major name in the Batman canon; it’s the father of one.

All rumors, and some evidence, point to Stan playing the role of Harvey Dent, the Gotham City DA who becomes the villain Two-Face. This new rumor indicates that Harvey's father Christopher Dent will also be a major character in The Batman Part II. This is the role that both Craig and Pitt have reportedly passed on. While it might be an attempt at stunt casting, it appears that Harvey Dent’s family may actually be significant characters in the movie. It’s suggested in the same piece that Johansson’s role in the film will be as Gilda Dent, Harvey’s wife.

Why Pitt And Craig May Have Passed

It’s maybe not that surprising that both Brad Pitt and Daniel Craig passed on The Batman Part II. One has to imagine that both of them could have been part of almost any superhero movie they wanted, and yet neither of them has been part of the genre to this point. Craig was briefly attached to the Sgt. Rock movie before that film fell apart, but that movie was clearly going to be something unique, coming as it was from director Luca Guadagnino.

However, the reason both stars passed may not be because they didn’t want the part; it may simply be that neither of them is available. Craig is attached to Damien Chazelle's next project, which is expected to start filming in October, and Brad Pitt has his own big project in Ocean's 14. That movie is expected to start filming this year, and even if neither film is technically a scheduling conflict, it's possible that both actors just didn’t want to work on two big projects back to back.

One assumes that, with Brad Pitt and Daniel Craig being considered for the role of Christopher Dent, whoever is next on the list will likely be an equally significant name. Hopefully, that name can be found quickly, preventing any additional delays in production. We’ve all been waiting long enough.

She's also attached to a number of upcoming projects, including a new Maleficent movie. Unfortunately for fans of Eternals, there's no indication that she and her co-star are coming back for upcoming Marvel movies.

As previously mentioned, Angelina Jolie's love life has made countless headlines over the years. Star Christina Applegate has spent the past five years dealing with the new realities of her multiple sclerosis (MS) diagnosis, but much of her life until then was all about starring on a number of TV shows and in movies, like the wild rom-com, Anchorman. Her recently released memoir has revealed a lot about her time as one of Hollywood’s top talents, however, including some of her dating exploits. One thing she now admits to is dumping Brad Pitt during her time on Married…with Children while they attended an awards show, and the story “gets worse” from there.

Christina Applegate has done everything from lead acclaimed shows like Dead to Me (which you can watch with your Netflix subscription) and Samantha Who?, to proudly starring in Don’t Tell Mom the Babysitter’s Dead and other films, and even won an Emmy for her iconic guest starring role on Friends. But, she will likely always be best known for the show that made her famous, Married…with Children.

She reflected on her life, including that time during her early career in her new memoir, You with the Sad Eyes (via Page Six), and opened up about some of her dating life as she dealt with fame while still being a teenager. The actress was 17 when she briefly dated Brad Pitt, who was around 26 and still basically unknown, but a part of Applegate’s circle of Hollywood friends. As she says in her book, she took Pitt as her date when she attended the 1989 MTV Video Music Awards to present, but someone else in the room stole her attention:

Heavy metal was incredibly popular in the late ‘80s, and Skid Row was one of the bands that racked up a number of hits back in the day. But, that was quite a while ago now, so I know you would like a side by side comparison to see what Pitt looked like then and who the Bad Moms star couldn’t take her eyes off of. Observe now, Pitt in the 1989 slasher movie, Cutting Class, and Bach in his band’s “18 and Life” music video from the same year:

Chris Hemsworth comes across as a super cool guy. He’s very good at what he does (both in comedic and dramatic roles), he’s one of the most successful movie stars in the world, and he has that winning smile and cool blue eyes. Unfortunately, there’s no level of cool in the world that can disable the proper anxiety that comes when one gets to meet a Hollywood legend, and Hemsworth got a hard lesson in that field when he once had the opportunity to meet the one and only Brad Pitt.

The Crime 101 actor is a big fan of Pitt’s – so much so that he and his wife Elsa Pataky named their son Tristan after the Oscar-winner’s character in the 1994 western Legends of the Fall. This was a bit of trivia that Hemsworth recently discussed during an appearance on the Smartless podcast, and it led to the actor being asked if he had ever met the Once Upon A Time In Hollywood star. He then shared this cringe-inducing tale:

In response, co-host Jason Bateman remarked that the moment would “slow down” for him, and I totally get what he means: this whole interaction would play in my mind in agonizing slow-motion. We’ve all had a similar experience where our own personal greeting didn’t match someone else’s, but it’s typically not Brad Pitt who is on the other side of the introduction.

Adding insult to injury – and kudos to Hemsworth’s confidence in sharing the anecdote – is that he really really made an effort to be chill. He got word that Pitt wanted to meet him with advance notice, and he tried to be blase about it, but the effort was for nought. He added,

Brad Pitt’s F1 was a massive box office hit last year, a noteworthy accomplishment considering the movie was an original IP. However, any movie that isn’t already part of a franchise still has the potential to become one, and it appears that may be in the cards for the racing movie. And after hearing one fan's idea for a sequel that involves Tom Cruise, I'd be all for it.

While nothing is set in stone, early development has apparently begun on a sequel to F1. The first step in creating any movie is coming up with a story to tell, and one post from @miguelaraizac on Twitter reacting to the news of the potential sequel has already pitched a basic concept that is so perfect that the idea has gone viral. And that idea is to reunite the Interview with a Vampire co-stars Brad Pitt and Tom Cruise. The post reads (translated from Spanish)…

Make this happen. Sign the talent. I love it not only because it would put Brad Pitt and Tom Cruise back in a movie together, but because a pitch like this would actually set up Tom Cruise as the “bad guy” in the story, which is something that we don’t see very often.

Considering that F1 made over $600 million globally on its own, a sequel that also had Tom Cruise making $1 billion doesn’t even seem like that big a stretch. It feels like a guarantee. Everybody who saw F1 in theaters would probably be buying tickets in advance to see a sequel that’s going even bigger and the added star power of Cruise would surely draw in people who didn’t see F1 until it was available with their Apple TV subscription.

Tom Cruise’s name had already appeared associated with F1 by virtue of the fact that the racing film from Joseph Kosinski came a few years after he directed Cruise in Top Gun: Maverick. There’s also the fact that both movies were produced by Jerry Bruckheimer. Bruckheimer also produced Days of Thunder, Cruise’s own racing movie back in 1990. Plus, the two actors did work together a very long time ago, as I mentioned earlier.

In fact, the idea of getting Pitt and Cruise together in a movie that was a sequel to both F1 and Days of Thunder had actually already been pitched. Joseph Kosinski brought up the idea recently, and while he was clearly joking, it could work.

A great deal was made of the fact that Brad Pitt did his own racing in F1. Tom Cruise is known for doing his own stunts, so any theoretical sequel that included both of them would absolutely see them both doing their own driving, and you can bet such a movie would make a big deal out of that.

The odds of an F1 sequel happening at all are unknown, and the odds of a story like this happening would seem to be a pretty long shot. Still, the idea isn’t impossible, and that means I’ll be pulling for it.

When Apple Original Films’ F1: The Movie started popping up in serious Oscar conversations, my first reaction was mild surprise. Sure, F1's first reactions were strong, and a lot of critics really enjoyed it, yet I was still slightly confused by the film's 2026 Oscar nominations. Despite being a slick, star-driven racing movie from Joseph Kosinski, it's not an obvious awards darling, and yet the more I’ve sat with what Academy voters are actually saying about it, the more I’m starting to think this “surprise” nomination makes a lot more sense than I initially thought.

According to a recent deep dive from Variety into anonymous Oscar ballots and behind-the-scenes voter sentiment, F1 is quietly one of the most well-liked films in the race. Voters repeatedly describe it as “great” and “good old-school entertainment,” which might sound faintly damning until you remember who makes up a large chunk of the Academy.

F1 is precisely the kind of flick that plays well with veteran Academy members who built their careers in an era where broad audience appeal mattered more than cultural discourse or online enthusiasm. It’s glossy, technically proficient, and familiar in structure. Think more Ford v Ferrari rather than Everything Everywhere All at Once.

One anonymous voter didn’t bother hedging at all, bluntly declaring, “I f—ing love that movie.” That’s not a consensus-building statement, but it sounds a lot like a comfort vote. And comfort votes are dangerous in a preferential ballot system, especially in a year where critical passion is fractured across dozens of films, and quite possibly, too many best picture nominees.

Best Picture wins often come down to not necessarily voters picking the movie people love most, but the one most people don’t mind ranking highly. And F1 seems to be landing squarely in that sweet spot: widely watched, broadly liked, and rarely despised. In a field crowded with international contenders, challenging arthouse titles, and films that demand emotional or intellectual investment, F1 asks almost nothing of its voters except to have a good time.

Based on reports, it seems pretty clear that many voters simply don’t have the time to watch everything. In that environment, a polished, accessible studio film with a recognizable star like Brad Pitt and obvious technical strengths starts to look very attractive. The movie has a strong chance of snagging the editing, sound, or visual effects award, and once a movie starts winning the crafts awards, it becomes much easier for it to take home Best Picture, providing a true Oscar upset.

This is where my thinking has shifted. I initially saw F1 as a “why is this here?” contender. Now it feels more like a “why wouldn’t it be?” situation. The Academy has always had room for prestige comfort food–you know, the movies that aren’t revolutionary but are professionally made and emotionally easy to endorse.

That doesn’t mean F1 is a shoo-in for Best Picture or will win any of the categories it's nominated in, but in a year defined by vote-splitting and an increasingly global slate of contenders, being the movie everyone agrees is “pretty great” might be the strongest position of all.

So yes, F1 showing up in the Oscar convo, and securing a Best Picture nom, was surprising, but after hearing how voters are actually talking about it, I’m starting to think the real surprise would be if it didn’t. But, I suppose I will just have to wait and see how things shake out when the Oscars air on March 15th as part of the 2026 TV schedule. There’s been a lot of talk about an F1 sequel pretty much ever since the Brad Pitt-led racing movie started making its victory lap following a massive box office run. While the sequel isn’t guaranteed and nothing official has been announced, the film’s director, Joseph Kosinski, has joked about where the franchise could go. Are you ready for this? Wait, a sequel to one of the best 2025 movies and a classic ‘90s flick wrapped up into one? What could this be? Well, come along as I dig into Kosinski’s comments about bringing two of the biggest Hollywood icons of all time together again before breaking down why I think it could work (and make loads of cash).

Joseph Kosinski Has A Cool Pitch, Even If He Was Only Half-Serious

Back in June 2025, ahead of the F1 release, Joseph Kosinski sat down with GQ Magazine UK to talk about the movie and so much more. Eventually, the conversation turned to making a movie with Brad Pitt and Tom Cruise, whom he directed in Top Gun: Maverick a few years ago. When asked what he would pitch to a studio, Kosinski blurted out an idea that is totally awesome, even if he was only half-serious:

Cruise opened up about the famous go-kart battle he had with Pitt while shooting Interview with the Vampire during Paramount’s CinemaCon 2025 panel, saying they would finish filming and go race each other all night. Channeling that real-life story, along with both giving off the impression that they are extremely competitive, this seems like a recipe for success, or at least crazy on-screen stunts.

This Could Fill In Some Gaps For Sonny Hayes’ Story And Show Us What Came Of Cole Trickle

Though we learn a great deal about Sonny Hayes’ history on and off the track in F1, there are still some gaps in his journey back to the top of the sport after decades of being left in the dust. Having the aging racer cross paths with Cole Trickle and digging up some old beef (or good memories) would add another layer to Hayes’ already complex path of self-discovery and rebirth.

Also, this would give us the chance to see what the former hotshot NASCAR driver has been up to over the past 35 years. Did he become a legend of the sport and earn a spot on the Mt. Rushmore of stock-car racing alongside Richard Petty, Dale Earnhardt, and Jeff Gordon, or did he have a streak of bad luck and end up like Hayes, having to claw himself back from a desert of irrelevancy? There are just so many ways they could go.

A Reunion For These Two Is A Long Time Coming

Brad Pitt has said he would work with Tom Cruise again if he didn’t have to hang off an airplane, but he didn’t say anything about racing. All jokes aside, a reunion for the Interview with the Vampire stars is a long time coming, and something just about everyone can get behind.

I don’t know the man personally, but I bet Jerry Bruckheimer, who produced both films, is included in that group of folks who want this to happen. He’s spoken on why the two actors are so successful numerous times over the years, so maybe he’s heard Joseph Kosinski’s idea and will make it happen. Let’s make it happen!

Only time will tell if we’ll get an F1 and Days of Thunder crossover event, but I’ll be there if (or when) it happens. Now we just need to think of a good title…

There have been talks and rumors, and hopeful wishes for a possible Ocean's Fourteen movie for years. Those rumors have been heating up in recent months, and now we can confidently say that it looks like a new installment in the Ocean’s franchise is on the way. We don’t have a ton of details on the movie, and it’s not going to be part of the 2026 movie schedule, but we have learned a little bit, including whether stars George Clooney, Julia Roberts, Brad Pitt, and the other cast members will be returning (the answer seems to be ‘yes’). Here’s what we know, and why I’m excited.

When Will Ocean’s Fourteen Be Released?

There is no release date as of yet for Ocean’s Fourteen. George Clooney was quoted in October 2025 as saying that Warner Bros. has approved the budget and that filming could begin in “nine or ten months.” Keeping that schedule on track might prove tricky, given all the big stars with busy schedules who are hopefully going to return for this.

It’s challenging to predict when the movie might be released, but a late 2027 date doesn’t seem impossible if the schedule remains intact.

The Big Stars Will Likely Be Returning

Obviously, it looks like George Clooney (Danny Ocean) is a lock, as he’s been the one doing the most talking about it in pubic. The Jay Kelly star also intimated that he expects Julia Roberts, Brad Pitt, Matt Damon, and Don Cheadle to be back. Pitt hinted at his own involvement back in June, though Damon has been playing it more coy.

Of course, the cast is more than just those huge stars. Casey Affleck, Scott Caan, Qin Shaobo, and Eddie Jemison have all been part of the gang in the previous three movies. I think they would be likely to return. Elliott Gould, who had a guest spot in 2025’s Monster: The Ed Gein Story, which you can watch with a Netflix subscription, is an OG cast member and could be back. Andy Garcia also appeared in each of the first three movies.

Al Pacino and Catherine Zeta-Jones weren’t in the first film, but appeared in the second (Zeta-Jones) and third (Pacino) movies. The franchise has also seen the likes of Eddie Izzard, Ellen Barkin, and Vincent Cassel (all of whom were in Ocean’s Twelve and Ocean’s Thirteen), plus there is the entire cast of Ocean’s 8. Could Sandra Bullock, who plays Danny Ocean’s sister in the spinoff, appear? The sky’s the limit here, I think.

Sadly, we’ve lost some of the original cast members since Ocean’s Thirteen’s release in 2007. Hollywood legend Carl Reiner (father of the late Rob Reiner) died in 2020, and the great Bernie Mac passed away at age 50 in 2008. Robbie Coltrane and Albert Finney, who both appeared in Ocean’s 12, have also since passed away.

We’ll keep a close eye on any casting announcements in the coming weeks and months.

David Leitch Is Expected To Direct Ocean’s Fourteen

It has been reported that David Leitch will be helming the fourth installment of the series. Leitch has been building quite a resume since making his (uncredited) debut as a director with John Wick in 2014. Over the last decade or so, he’s directed Atomic Blonde (2017), Deadpool 2 (2018), Hobbs & Shaw (2019), Bullet Train (2022), starring Brad Pitt, and The Fall Guy (2024). He even has a heist movie coming out in 2026, How to Rob a Bank, starring Zoë Kravitz, Pete Davidson, and Nicholas Hoult, so he has some experience with movie thieves.

Steven Soderbergh, who directed all three of the original trilogy, will serve as a producer. Soderbergh has been on quite a run recently, releasing at least a movie a year, every year, since 2017, including two in 2025, The Christophers and Black Bag, so it’s understandable that he might want to take a little break from directing.

What Will The Plot Of Ocean’s Fourteen Be?

As of yet, there is no word on who might be writing the script, but Pitt has said what's being developed is “pretty damn tasty.” Given Pitt’s fondness for eating in movies, that’s an encouraging description.

Clooney has also hinted that the script won’t ignore that the Ocean crew is aging, after all, it’s been almost 20 years since we last checked in with the thieves. The star also said he was inspired by the ‘70s heist movie Going In Style, about aging thieves, in an interview with Variety in December 2025.

So long as the movie has a fun heist and some excellent one-liners, I’m confident it’ll be great.

There Is Also An Ocean’s Prequel Starring Margot Robbie In The Works

Ocean’s Fourteen isn’t the only movie to look forward to for fans of the franchise. Word first leaked out in early 2024 that an Ocean’s prequel movie set in the 1960s and starring Margot Robbie was in the works. Ryan Gosling was rumored to be teaming up with Robbie again, and they would be playing Danny Ocean’s parents in the film.

The latest news on the possible prequel came in October 2025, when it was revealed that Gosling wouldn’t be starring, but Bradley Cooper was in talks to take over in the role. Either way, that’s a win, right? Frankly, I may be just as excited about this as I am about Fourteen, after all, the Ocean’s franchise was born in the 1960s with the original Ocean’s 11, starring the Rat Pack, in 1960.

It sounds like we’re still a ways away from either movie being released, but in the meantime, it’s always a good time to rewatch 2001’s Ocean’s Eleven, which you can do with a Paramount+ subscription. I know that I’m planning on diving back in soon.

After missing F1 in all its IMAX glory upon hitting the 2025 movie schedule, I finally got to experience the eye-popping Brad Pitt flick over the holidays. Let me tell you, I loved this movie and I’m not even a big fan of the sport like some of my colleagues. With drama, intense racing sequences, and the great on-screen pairing of Pitt and Damson Idris, I loved just about everything about Joseph Kosinski’s. Well, almost everything…

With all this talk of a potential F1 sequel with Pitt’s Sonny Hayes possibly taking a spin at a new form of racing, there’s something I would like for the movie to leave in the dust and not bring back the second time around. No, it’s not the flashbacks (those Camel racing jumpsuits were amazing), nor is it the first movie’s length. Instead, it’s the on-track antics of F1’s star…

We Have To Tone Down Sonny Hayes’ Problematic On-Track Methods

I get it, rubbing is racing, and racing is rubbing, but Sonny Hayes takes things to the next level throughout F1, and I don’t mean in a good way. Though I thoroughly enjoyed this movie, and the race sequences were mesmerizing, I could only handle so much of Brad Pitt’s character resorting to some down-and-dirty tricks to help his team. Once or twice would have been enough to prove a point that this former hotshot F1 driver is willing to do anything, but I honestly lost count of all the reckless antics that could have gotten someone killed.

If F1 was the start of a franchise, which I wholeheartedly believe it could be, I hope that Hayes doesn’t have to resort to some old and dangerous tricks to keep up with younger drivers and more advanced teams. I’m no traditionalist by any stretch of the imagination, but this aspect of Sonny’s character took this from a great movie to just a good movie.

We Know The Guy Can Race, So Let Him Race

Through those awesome flashback sequences (seriously, I need that Camel racing suit), that exhilarating final race at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, where Sonny Hayes finally gets a win, and his mastery behind the wheel, we know that Brad Pitt’s character can race. All I have to say is: let him race.

I don’t know where the franchise is headed or if Hayes will be racing for APXGP in the future, but if he does get back on the track, I hope a sequel shows him using his racing skills and mental sharpness when going up against the young competition. Sonny and all of those who plan on seeing the movie deserve it. No tricks, no loopholes, no repeated attempts to send races into caution so his teammate can cut some time. Just let him win it clean. Old-time racing, like when he got started, you know?

All that being said, I won’t make the same mistake of missing a possible F1 sequel on the big screen. Maybe with all the award buzz, including a pair of Golden Globe nominations, and the film streaming with an Apple TV subscription, we’ll see what Sonny Hayes has in store for us soon…

I love the Ocean’s movies because they are light and breezy, and because it’s just so clear on the screen that the all-star cast was having a blast as they filmed. That’s true of the original Ocean’s 11, starring the Rat Pack back in 1960. It’s especially true of the three movies from the 21st century. When the cast, including Brad Pitt and Catherine Zeta-Jones, showed up on the set for Ocean's Twelve, which you can watch with a Paramount+ subscription, it seemed they all had a little fun at Zeta-Jones’ expense, as Brad Pitt revealed.

Zeta-Jones Came In Ready To Work…

Catherine Zeta-Jones, being the professional that she is, arrived on set ready to work. Like most standard roles, she wanted to talk shop and figure out how her scenes would work. For Pitt and the other cast members, like George Clooney, Matt Damon, Julia Roberts, Don Cheadle, and the rest of the superstars, the movie was really just a nice vacation in Europe. Well, maybe all but one of the actors. Pitt explained in an interview with the Daily Echo around the time of the release of the movie:

Of course, Zeta-Jones eventually fit right in, as Pitt also mentions in the interview:

That’s pretty much how I’ve always pictured the behind-the-scenes escapades in the making of the Ocean’s movies. You can just tell there was a good time going on. It makes me long for a return to that world, and who knows, maybe we will someday, as George Clooney recently teased that Ocean’s Fourteen could be on the way and could even get it “started up” next year.

Ocean’s Twelve Isn’t My Favorite Of The Movies, But It’s Still Great

Director Steven Soderbergh has made a ton of great movies, but I wouldn’t rank Ocean’s Twelve among his best, if I’m honest. Of all the movies (not including Ocean’s 8, which I also like), it’s probably my least favorite of the Ocean’s trilogy. Still, the backstage hijinks might be the best of them all.

All that said, and as brutal as some fans are, I still love rewatching all the movies, including Twelve. Part of the fun is that the locations are more exotic than Vegas, though I do love a good Vegas movie. Shooting in Italy is what made it a vacation, of course, and it’s what sets it apart and makes it so rewatchable for me, even if it’s not as solid as the other movies.

In terms of Hollywood leading men from the past few decades, few come close to being as prolific, versatile, or recognizable as George Clooney. A star of both screen and stage, the 2026 Golden Globe nominee has proven time and time again he’s one of the best to ever do it. But did you know that he once missed out on a part in Thelma & Louise, the role that made Brad Pitt, the other half of his big Hollywood romance, into a big-time star back in the early 1990s?

This “what if” situation became a major topic of conversation when Clooney and his Ocean’s Eleven costar sat down for a chat with The Times. When opening up about missing out on one of Ridley Scott’s best movies, and losing the part of the charming dfriter named J.D., which launched his future friend’s big-screen career, the Jay Kelly star didn’t hold back at all, saying:

At the time this would be going down, sometime between 1988 and 1991, Clooney had already appeared on shows like The Facts of Life, Murder She Wrote, and Roseanne, but his big-screen releases were not as well-known. Well, that is, unless you’re a fan of Grizzly II: Revenge, Return to Horror High, or Return of the Killer Tomatoes.

Clooney would go on to become a household name a few years later, during the early seasons of ER, before making the leap to the silver screen in the mid ‘90s. Despite that, Clooney admits he didn’t watch Thelma & Louise for years after losing the role to Pitt, adding:

Though it could be argued that this is just one friend giving the other a hard time for prolonging the inevitable, it’s not hard to wonder how Clooney’s career would have been if he had played the shirtless drifter remembered for his cowboy hat and blow-dryer. At the same time, now I’m left wondering what Pitt’s career would have been like had he not gotten his big break alongside stars Susan Sarandon and Geena Davis.

Clooney did, in fact, end up watching Thelma & Louise for himself. Looking back, he admits that it had to be Pitt instead of him, even if his longtime friend continues to mess with him about it:

That’s the thing, it’s honestly difficult to imagine anyone besides Pitt playing J.D. Though the character is only a small part of a larger crime epic, he instantly made an impact, and those few scenes remain untouchable 30-plus years later.

All things being said, Clooney, who seemingly cannot be pigeonholed, has had a remarkable career despite never getting another chance to work with Ridley Scott.

It has been roughly six months since Joseph Kosinski’s F1 landed on the 2025 movie schedule and gave Warner Bros. something to be happy about after it made a ton of cash at the box office. If you’re like me and have been wondering what’s next for the movie that had something for Formula 1 newcomers and diehard race fans alike, you’re definitely going to be into what Kosinski has to say about a potential sequel.

When speaking with The Wrap about the Golden Globe-nominated film starring Brad Pitt as a washed-up Formula 1 driver who’s given a second chance on the track and some much-needed redemption, Kosinski teased some new adventures. But that isn’t all, as he also hinted at some plans Pitt has in store, saying:

In case you have forgotten, F1 ends with Brad Pitt’s Sonny Hayes winning his first Formula 1 race, only to walk away from the sport and try something new. What was he trying, you may ask? Well, the former F1 hotshot left the glitz and glamor of the sport to try his hand at the Baja 1000, a grueling, highly competitive, and dangerous long-distance race in the deserts of the Baja California Peninsula in Mexico.

With F1 making a staggering amount of money at the box office and being a hit with critics and audiences alike, it seems very unlikely that Warner Bros. and Apple Films will not get back together to make a sequel happen. Considering Pitt already has some ideas pitched, as well as taking into account the large stack of cash he earned the first time around, I doubt it’ll take much convincing for the Hollywood legend to return.

Though Kosinski didn’t elaborate on what Pitt pitched to him for a possible second film, I’m definitely on board for whatever these two put on screen. Just make sure we get to see some of that teased Baja action before going back to the grand prix races of the world.

Joseph Kosinki Is Also Working With F1 Legend Lewis Hamilton

Though Formula 1 legend Lewis Hamilton had to turn down a role in Top Gun: Maverick, the Scuderia Ferrari driver didn’t make the same mistake when it came to F1. In fact, he made so many contributions that he ended up receiving a producer credit by the time it was all said and done.

Hamilton, who was one of many real-life drivers to show up in some of F1’s intense racing sequences, appears to be working with director Joseph Kosinski and Brad Pitt when it comes to a second movie as well. As Kosinski revealed in the same chat with The Wrap:

What kind of “spitballing” the three were able to talk out is anyone’s guess at this point, but please make this happen. We need this to happen.

Tomb Raider The Legend of Lara Croft, Season 2 - December 11 (Netflix)

Fans of the Tomb Raider franchise are likely highly anticipating the new live-action series that will star Sophie Turner and will also help relaunch the video game side of the franchise. However, we don’t need to wait for more adventures from Lara Croft because if you have a Netflix subscription, there's an animated version of the heroine, voiced by Hayley Atwell, that is back this week to complete its story with a second season.

Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery - December 12 (Netflix)

The original Knives Out was a massive hit in its day for being a non-franchise film, but now the adventures of Benoit Blanc are a franchise unto themselves. Wake Up Dead Man arrives on Netflix this week following a brief theatrical release. It sees Daniel Craig’s detective investigating the death of a priest in a seemingly locked room. Josh O’Connor, Glenn Close, and Jeremy Renner also star.

Taylor Swift: The End of an Era/Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour - The Final Show - December 12 (Disney+)

Taylor Swift is, to put it bluntly, the biggest star currently on planet Earth. Her Eras Tour was the music event of the last two years, and now your Disney+ subscription offers up both a new documentary series, looking behind the scenes of the event, as well as the second Eras Tour concert film, focused on the tour’s final night.

When movies made by streamers get theatrical releases, they’re usually short windows so that viewers can watch the same movie at home before too long. Not many people, even if they’re actors, will have the experience of being the lead in a hit movie, and I’m guessing that fewer still can say they were able to do that while working with famed film producer Jerry Bruckenheimer. However, two of our biggest actors for several decades now, 2025 movie schedule stars Brad Pitt and Tom Cruise, can say both of those things about their careers, and Bruckenheimer recently opened up about why each is so amazing to have as leads in a movie.

Why Jerry Bruckheimer Loves Working With Tom Cruise And Brad Pitt

OK, I think it’s possible that if either F1 lead Brad Pitt or Mission: Impossible - The Final Reckoning’s Tom Cruise were absolutely terrible to work with at this point, that they might not still be two of our biggest movie stars in the world. The megawatt actors have racked up some impressively memorable hits over the years, apart in movies like The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, Top Gun and its massive hit sequel Top Gun: Maverick, Word War Z, the Ocean’s 11 franchise, and Risky Business, and together in Interview with A Vampire.

It makes sense then that producer Jerry Bruckheimer (who’s worked with both) would be able to easily extol the virtues of doing business with each actor. When speaking with Variety about some of the movies he currently has in the pipeline and the success of this summer’s F1 (starring Pitt and produced by him), the filmmaker noted how important it is to have talent at the top of the call sheet who are willing to go the extra mile to make a film work. Bruckheimer noted:

I’m sure that there are lots of qualities that actors could have which add value once they’re added to a cast, from basic things like showing up on time and coming in prepared, to more high level skills. And, being someone who’s known to “want to win” certainly seems like it’s something that fits in the latter category that not everyone will be able to fulfill all of the time.

Wanting to “make a great movie” likely encompasses a lot of things, but we’ve heard (and seen), for instance, how Cruise has literally put his life on the line for extreme movie stunts and done insane extra stuff to make sure every scene comes out as perfect as possible. You don’t do things like that without an absolute commitment to the film you’re working on and wanting audiences to have the best possible experience with the finished product.

As these stars know, not every movie can be a slam dunk, but your chances are a lot better if you approach them with that kind of winning attitude.

I don’t know when it happened, but my Facebook feed has been showing me random posts (not from friends) for months now. While I simply skip over most of these for one reason or another, one recently caught my attention with a dialogue about some of the best actors of all time and who had the best seven-year run. Is it Tom Cruise, Harrison Ford, or someone else known for great movie characters?

Truth be told, plenty of great options were brought up in a Facebook post, and now I’m having a hard time deciding who is right or if there’s even an answer to this question. That said, I’ve come up with a list of a few Hollywood leading men who gave audiences some of the best ‘80s movies, even more of the greatest ‘90s films, and countless big-screen moments we’re still talking about years later.

Tom Cruise was already a star-in-the-making by the time Top Gun came around in 1986, but this all-time great action flick took his career to new heights. Harrison Ford (1977 - 1984)

I mean, he’s still great today, and some of his best work has been in recent years, but he had a stranglehold on American culture back then. Seven, Fight Club, Ocean’s Eleven, and more, all coming out over the course of seven years, is absurd. During the ‘90s, Pitt went from a supporting player to THE GUY in show business.

From the Lord of the Rings trilogy to the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise and examples of all the major genres in between, Bloom had hit after hit at the start of the 21st century.

After going through all these actors and their respective filmographies, I’m having a really hard time deciding who had the best seven-year run. I mean, Tom Hanks’ stretch in the ‘90s is in a league of its own, but Tom Cruise also had a firm grasp on things in the era. Harrison Ford kept striking back, and Samuel L. Jackson was just one bad motherfucker.

Celebrity prank wars can be so much fun to witness, and George Clooney and Brad Pitt have one of the most infamous ones. While Clooney, in particular, is well-known for sending fake letters from other celebrities, both of the Ocean’s Eleven stars have done some pretty diabolical things to each other. So where did the whole war start? Let’s dive into the inciting prank between these “forever friends” and the stories behind some of the other stunts they’ve pulled.

George Clooney’s First Prank On Brad Pitt Involved A Pot Leaf Bumper Sticker

George Clooney appeared on a segment of The Graham Norton Show ahead of the release of his upcoming Netflix movie Jay Kelly, which hit the 2025 movie calendar on November 14 for a short theatrical run. When asked about the prank war between the Wolfs stars, Clooney admitted that they’ve done “terrible things” to each other, and he thinks it all started when they were filming Ocean’s Eleven. He recalled:

He makes a good point that the back of one’s vehicle is a vulnerable spot, but this should serve as a warning to all of George Clooney’s future co-stars. So what did he do to Brad Pitt’s car? He continued:

I can only imagine how that conversation between Brad Pitt and the responding officer went down. However, that’s certainly not the only fun the Up in the Air star has had at Pitt’s expense.

George Clooney Sent Meryl Streep A Gift ‘From Brad Pitt’ Ahead of The Iron Lady

It sounds like Jimmy Kimmel is actually to blame for some of these antics, as the late-night host has said he’s the one who gifted George Clooney stationery with Brad Pitt’s name at the top. That resulted in quite a few celebrities getting fake letters from the Fight Club actor, including Meryl Streep ahead of her Academy Award-winning role in The Iron Lady. Clooney told Graham Norton:

If one is going to dish out the pranks, however, one should be prepared to get them in return, and Brad Pitt got retribution when the Ocean’s Twelve cast traveled to Italy for filming.

As George Clooney has told it, his co-star sent a memo to the movie crew and residents of Lake Como, the Italian town where Clooney has had a house for decades, saying the actor requested that no one look him in the eye and that they only address him as “Mr. Clooney” or “Mr. Ocean.” When he realized what Pitt had done, Matt Damon said Clooney was “the maddest I’ve ever seen him.”

Expect More Pranks Between These Two In The Future

One of the more brilliant (and terrible) things about George Clooney’s tricks is that he doesn’t reveal his hand for a year or two later, he said. In fact, he’s currently got one in the works, and he indicated that we’ll all know when the jig is up, saying:

Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon may star on and executive produce The Morning Show together (with Season 4 currently airing on the 2025 TV schedule with an Apple TV+ subscription), but their friendship goes back much longer than this workplace drama. In 2000, Witherspoon guest-starred on Friends as Rachel’s sister Jill, and while their characters weren’t exactly besties, there’s definitely something sisterly about the way the actress defended Aniston against the public’s misconceptions about her.

Reese Witherspoon had only glowing things to say about Jennifer Aniston when visiting Dax Shepard’s Armchair Expert podcast, calling her longtime friend “really lovely and nurturing and warm and friendly and kind.” But the narrative that has surrounded the Friends star has also given her reason to be guarded, Witherspoon said, which really bothers her. She said:

Those misconceptions include her reasons for not having children, her comments about never attending the Met Gala and why her marriages to Brad Pitt and Justin Theroux ended. Dax Shepard noted that Jennifer Aniston’s “not holding on to things” includes not continuing to pine for the Fight Club star 20 years after their split.

Reese Witherspoon agreed:

Jennifer Aniston continuing to hang out with the same friends she grew up with would suggest that all of the fame hasn’t changed who she is, and I’m honestly not too sure how many people can say they’d invite their ex-husband to their birthday party.

The Friends with Money star, however, famously maintains good relationships with her exes. Justin Theroux continues to honor his ex-wife on her birthday, and Jennifer Aniston and Brad Pitt practically broke the Internet when they reunited for a virtual table read of Fast Times at Ridgemont High during COVID.

While Reese Witherspoon was happy to refute rumors on behalf of her Morning Show colleague, Jennifer Aniston hasn’t bothered to combat many of the false narratives that circulate. She maintains that she’ll never get used to people thinking they have a right to her private life.

That probably means that even though she recently hard-launched her relationship with Jim Curtis, we’re not likely to get too much inside info, but I think fans will be satisfied with the occasional Instagram post.

A couple of places you can continue to see Jennifer Aniston is on The Morning Show Season 4, with new episodes dropping each Wednesday on Apple TV+, and on Friends reruns, as all 10 seasons are available to stream with a Max subscription.

When it comes to David Fincher/Brad Pitt collaborations, the first movies that likely come to people’s minds are Fight Club, and Se7en. And, look, I get it. Fight Club is still arguably David Fincher's best movie.

Not only that, but Se7en is one of the best horror movies of all time. So, it makes sense that Pitt + Fincher = either one of those two movies in people’s minds. The thing is, there's a third movie that they worked on together, and that's 2008's The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, which I'm upset that nobody really talks about these days.

Which is surprising, because at the time, the film was highly lauded. Well, Fincher and Pitt are actually coming back together again for a Once Upon a Time in Hollywood follow-up, but until then, can I please gush over this movie?

On The Surface, It Doesn't Seem Like A Dark Film, But It Is

I actually tried reading the F. Scott Fitzgerald short story that this movie is based upon, but I put it down after only a few pages. So, from my short read, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button is a better movie than book. That said, you might be wondering why I didn't finish the short story, and the answer is simple - I didn't like the tone.

You see, even though the concept of a man aging backward seems quite silly on paper (and, from what I read of the short story, it reads silly in Fitzgerald's version), the movie treats this scenario seriously, which is completely on brand for Fincher.

The story concerns a baby who looks like an old man, and eventually ages backward, so that when he learns to walk, it's with crutches. When he meets a young girl named Daisy (played by Elle Fanning as a child, but Cate Blanchett as an adult), he becomes fast friends with her, because he IS a child, even though he looks decrepit.

This doesn't sound like a dark story, but it is. Benjamin and Daisy eventually fall in love, but it's only when they both reach the middle of their lives, meaning that there's so much lost time between them. By the end of the film, Daisy is taking care of a “young” Benjamin who has dementia, and it's almost overbearing in its sadness. It's a great film, but man is it depressing.

Brad Pitt Gives The Performance Of A Lifetime

Though Benjamin Button isn't often referred to as one of the best Brad Pitt movies, it's certainly not one of the worst, either, that’s for sure. However, one reason why I think a lot of people don’t frequently talk about this movie is because even though the performances are all very good, they’re also very subtle.

There are no grand, sweeping performances like Daniel Day Lewis in There Will Be Blood. No eccentric, off-the-wall performances like Johnny Depp in Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas. No. Every character in this film is quiet and understated, and Pitt does a great job of providing a somber performance.

Because even when Benjamin is happy, he seems sad. Or rather, there’s a certain sadness to him. Even as a “child,” with his wrinkles and arthritis, he seems to have a weary, traveled look to him, which doesn’t lessen when he gets “younger.” In fact, he appears even more weary throughout the passage of time, which seems obvious, but again, this is a story about a man who is aging backward, not forward, and he’ll eventually be a teenager with the brain of a moribund man.

Pitt somehow pulls it off. You genuinely feel tired by the end of the movie, and I think it’s because of his understated and quiet performance. There’s no Tyler Durden or Aldo Raine here. I actually think this role might be even better. It certainly feels more difficult.

Cate Blanchett Is Also Wonderful

This almost sounds silly to even mention, as when is Cate Blanchett not wonderful, but she’s also phenomenal in this movie. In fact, I’m actually quite surprised to learn that she wasn’t nominated for the Best Actress Oscar, as the film was nominated for 13 Academy Awards (and won three, which I’ll get into next).

Her performance might be even sadder than Pitt’s, because she’s really the lynchpin of this entire movie, which is, in fact, a romantic fantasy. As mentioned, her character, Daisy, and Benjamin just can’t seem to meet at the right time in their lives. Daisy wishes to be a dancer, and lives out her dream. But, after a horrible accident, she can’t dance anymore. Still, it is not the right time for her and Benjamin, and they go through many years where they don’t see each other.

It is only at a specific point in their lives when they can truly love each other, and it doesn’t last long enough. Yes, they have a child together, but since Benjamin is aware that he likely won’t be a good father, he leaves Daisy and his child with money to live out their lives. But, you get a sense that Daisy would be willing to weather the storm if it meant that they could all be together.

It’s a sad performance, and one that Blanchett handles effortlessly, which, as already mentioned, is expected from such a master actor.

Its Visual Effects Are So Good They Make Me Want To Cry

Not too long ago, Godzilla Minus One took home an Oscar for Best Visual Effects, and believe it or not, I was upset. Now, I wasn’t bummed because I think it shouldn’t have won in this category, as it definitely should have. However, I thought it should have been nominated for (And won!) Best Picture as well. I’m still upset that it didn’t.

The same actually goes for Benjamin Button, as while it did win 3 Academy Awards, it was all in the visual department, those accolades being: Best Art Direction, Best Makeup, and Best Visual Effects. That said, even though I think the film should have won more (Perhaps Best Supporting Actress for Taraji P. Henson?) I really do think that the special effects in this film add to the story, because they make me want to cry!

Watching Pitt age down really is astonishing, even to this day, but the true miracle is watching the other characters age up. The contrast is startling, as watching a child Daisy turn into a woman, then into an elderly person, all while seeing Pitt get younger and younger, just doesn’t feel right.

However, the visuals themselves do a lot of the storytelling, and I think the makeup tells its own narrative, which is something I can’t say for many other movies outside of this one.

Over The Years, This Almost Feels Like Fincher's Hidden Gem

Every great director has a hidden gem in their filmography. For Scorsese, I think it’s After Hours, and for Kubrick, it’s none other than Barry Lyndon. But for Fincher, I think it’s The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, which seems strange, because again, it was nominated for THIRTEEN Academy Awards.

But, who talks about it anymore? That’s a problem for me, as it feels completely forgotten, and it shouldn’t be. It’s unlike any other film in Fincher’s filmography, as it’s almost meditative in nature.

That alone is special, but the story, acting, special effects, and score also make this film one for the ages. If you haven’t watched it in a while, watch it again. Fincher was firing on all cylinders with this one.

Since 1976, Interview with the Vampire has been captivating audiences. The tale of Louis, Lestat, Claudia and co. is seen as a remarkable Gothic tale about vampires as they navigate life together, and for a long time, it was praised as a gay allegory. Then, the TV adaptation of Anne Rice’s books came along, and the subtext was no longer under the surface. Now, we’re here to talk about this evolution and more as we discuss the LGBTQ+ history of this beloved story.

In Both The Book And The Movie For Interview With The Vampire, Louis And Lestat Are Never Confirmed As A Couple

In both the 1976 book Interview with the Vampire and the 1994 film adaptation that Anne Rice also wrote (that can be streamed with an HBO Max subscription), Louis and Lestat are not an obviously defined couple. It’s clear they share an undeniable bond; there are incredibly romantic and at times erotic moments between them, and the love they have for each other is clear. However, technically, they aren’t lovers.

Yes, they co-parent Claudia, and yes, they lived together for a very long time. However, without a clearly defined title for their relationship, technically, it’s not confirmed that Louis and Lestat were romantic based on the first book and the movie alone.

Along with that, Rice’s vampires do not have a sexual relationship in the movie or book, as CBR pointed out. While they love each other and have romantic moments, Rice said they couldn’t have sex after their bodies physically died. So, at least for the first part of this story’s history, they weren’t intimate in that way.

However, it could be interpreted in a way that made it clear they were romantically in love, and for decades, Louis and Lestat have been icons in LGBTQ+ media.

For Decades, Both The Book And The Movie Adaptation Of Interview With The Vampire Have Been Viewed As Queer-Coded Texts

Back in 2012, Anne Rice did an interview with Gizmodo where she confirmed that Louis and Lestat were a same-sex couple with a child. She was asked about the vampires being dads to Claudia, and people interpreting them that way. In response, the author exclaimed:

She also confirmed that she hadn’t really thought about that idea before, and then, when the journalist asked if we could say Louis and Lestat were “a same-sex couple with children,” Rice said:

All of that is to say that for years, decades even, this story, which is both a great book and one of the best vampire movies, has been read as queer-coded.

To hammer this point home further, IndieWire published a list of queer and homoerotic horror movies. When Interview with the Vampire was discussed, screenwriter Michael Varrati had this to say about Neil Jordan’s movie that starred Brad Pitt as Louis and Tom Cruise as Lestat:

While some people didn’t realize the subtext in this story, many others felt very seen by it. In a tribute to Rice on Nerdist, Eric Diaz wrote about why her books spoke to so many. He explained:

He went on to explain that Louis' story of coming to terms with who he was and Lestat’s belief that “their outsider nature gave them a unique perspective on humanity that no one else had,” was “a gift.”

Later on, in 2017, during an interview with The Daily Beast (via NBC), Rice said she was “very honored” that her work was viewed as a gay allegory. She also explained that she’s “always been very much a champion of gay rights, and art produced by gay people.”

As I mentioned, for decades, people have loved the allegory that came with Interview with the Vampire, and Louis and Lestat’s relationship specifically is an iconic queer-coded relationship. Well, that subtext got thrown out the window when the AMC show premiered, because nothing is under the surface; it is simply and proudly gay.

AMC’s Interview With The Vampire Actually Made Louis And Lestat LGBTQ+ Characters And A Couple

Now, cut to 2022, and the release of the great AMC series, Interview with the Vampire. This book-to-screen adaptation of Anne Rice’s beloved novel leaves nothing up to interpretation, really, when it comes to Louis and Lestat’s identities and their romance; they explicitly are in a loving and romantic (yet toxic) relationship.

In the first episode of the series, which you can stream on AMC+ or with a Netflix subscription, Louis and Lestat, who are played by Jacob Anderson and Sam Reid, respectively, have a threesome that ends with just the two of them having sex. They are a couple, and that 100% plays into the story. Louis’ struggle to accept his own identity isn’t an allegory; his sexuality and being a vampire are both part of it. And Lestat is as unapologetic and boisterous as always; however, in this show, he’s even louder and prouder about it.

Along with all that (and spoilers for Season 2 are ahead), Louis and Lestat are not the only LGBTQ+ characters in the series. Armand’s role is amplified, as he and Louis are a couple for decades after they meet in Paris. And while they’re in Paris, Claudia falls in love with the woman who became her companion before they both met their tragic ends.

This show unabashedly and proudly embraces the queer subtext of Interview with the Vampire that’s been loved for so long, and it makes it a huge part of the story. That’s expected to continue too with the release of Season 3, which will be called The Vampire Lestat after Anne Rice’s second book in The Vampire Chronicles.

So, this history will continue, and we’ll get to keep seeing these marvelous characters on our screens!

It would seem that we’re actually pretty close to getting the band (and by that I mean the Ocean’s cast) back together, as George Clooney has finally shared a very positive update about progress on Ocean’s 14. Along with sharing where they’re at in terms of conversations with the studio, he also explained when he thinks the long-awaited movie might start filming, and let’s just say, the heist is getting closer to beginning.

At the moment, Clooney is promoting his project on the 2025 movie schedule, Jay Kelly. While at the New York Film Festival, where the new flick is being screened, E! News asked him about the Ocean’s Eleven continuation. In response, he actually gave a pretty big update, explaining:

Wow! What an update! For quite some time now, we’ve gotten vague comments here and there about what’s going on with this fourth Ocean's film. However, this feels like the most solid news we’ve received about the upcoming movie in a long time.

An approved budget and an actual timeline for filming tell me this film is probably well on its way to being made; talk about great news!

A little over a year ago, in September 2024, we got an update about the Ocean’s 14 script from Clooney. He explained at the time that there was a “good script” that everyone liked. Then, earlier this year, Brad Pitt called it “pretty damn tasty.” Before that, we didn’t have much to go on, with Matt Damon even saying in August of 2024 that he hadn’t heard much about the project.

Now, though, it sounds like the crew is very close to their next heist. After sharing the update that filming could start in nine or ten months, Clooney also gushed about reuniting with his co-stars. When asked specifically about working with Pitt again, he enthusiastically responded with an answer about the ensemble as a whole, saying:

It would be fun for them and us! I need more Ocean’s one-liners and smooth and hilarious moments from this stellar ensemble. Plus, I’ve been dying to catch up with this crew. While we did get Ocean’s 8 in 2018, that wasn’t super connected to the original trilogy. So, it’s really been 18 years since we’ve seen Ocean’s Eleven on our screens. Personally, I can't wait to see how these characters have evolved over the last almost two decades.

By the time Ocean’s 14 comes out, it will have been likely over 25 years since that first Las Vegas heist, and I’m sure fans will be more than ready for another con – I know I will be. So, stay tuned, folks, this movie is in the works and on the move, and hopefully, sooner or later, it will be on the big screen for all of us to see.

Austin Butler has gone toe-to-toe with Elvis Presley’s legacy, played a murderous biker in 2024’s The Bikeriders, and embodied Feyd-Rautha in Dune: Part Two. But in 2019, he was cast in Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, where he squared off against none other than Brad Pitt. For The Dead Don’t Die actor, who grew up on the best ‘90s movies like Fight Club, the chance to spar with “Tyler Durden” himself felt like a dream come true. The reality of filming that sequence, however, came with a painful reminder of just how intense Pitt really is — and how dangerous a certain pitbull could be on set.

In a recent interview with Men’s Health’s YouTube channel, Butler broke down the process of tackling stunt-heavy roles in projects such as Caught Stealing, The Bikeriders, Dune: Part Two, and, of course, Quentin Tarantino’s Hollywood epic. Reflecting on the climactic brawl, he described what it was like to go toe-to-toe with Fight Club’s iconic brawler, Brad Pitt:

The actor, 34, recalled the bloody climax where his character, Tex Watson, faces off against Brad Pitt’s Cliff Booth and Booth’s loyal pit bull, Brandy. The Elvis star revealed that to prepare, the stunt team wrapped his hand in leather so the 80-pound dog could safely bite down. But during one rehearsal, the pitbull clamped on with enough force to tear his rotator cuff. He continued:

For the actual shoot, the Eddington actor switched to his right arm, while his stunt double, Braxton McAllister, took over for the most painful beats of the sequence, including Brandy’s jaw-dropping attack on Tex’s groin.

Few endings in recent memory have been as wild and cathartic as Quentin Tarantino’s Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. The 2019 film closes with an alternate-history twist on the infamous Manson Family murders, sending four of Charles Manson’s followers, including Austin Butler’s Tex Watson, to the home of Rick Dalton (Leonardo DiCaprio) and Cliff Booth (Brad Pitt). What follows is pure Tarantino excess, as the would-be killers are destroyed in a brutal, cartoonishly violent showdown.

That choice left Tex with a terribly violent beating. And while Cliff Booth was the primary punisher, he had help from his pitbull, Brandy, and Butler still bears the scars of that collaboration.

Butler’s showdown with Pitt and Brandy was shortened for story reasons, but even a brief clash with Cliff Booth was more than memorable. After all, Pitt’s role in Fight Club as Tyler Durden has been etched into pop culture for decades, and the Dune veteran admits that just sharing the screen in a fight sequence with him was a dream come true.

Now, both actors have moved forward and taken part in even more action. Austin Butler’s most recent work, Ari Aster’s neo-noir western Eddington, already hit the 2025 movie release schedule, and Caught Stealing lands in theaters on August 29th. And if you want to revisit Pitt’s iconic Fight Club, you can stream it with a Hulu subscription.

Earlier this summer, Brad Pitt’s home was broken into. It happened in June, and at the time, it was reported that three suspects had gotten into his house. The actor was not home because he was on the press tour for his project on the 2025 movie schedule, F1. Now, it’s being reported that the Once Upon a Time in Hollywood star is selling his house. However, it’s apparently not because of the burglary; in fact, the sale was reportedly already in motion before that happened.

Brad Pitt’s home, which is a hillside three-bedroom, two-bathroom property in Los Feliz, is currently in escrow, TMZ reported. The deal was reportedly made off-market, and when it became known that it was happening, there was a lot of interest in it.

In 2023, the Fight Club actor bought the house for $5.5 million. It has great city views and was built in 1960. Now, apparently, along with this sale, Pitt has bought a new house that was owned by The Killers’ Dave Keuning for $12 million.

However, going back to the house he sold, he had reportedly already decided to do that when the burglars broke in. According to the report, sources said the producer was already working to sell it when the break-in happened. Therefore, the sale likely did not happen because of the burglary.

This news does, notbably, come a week after two men were arrested in connection with the ransacking of Pitt’s old home, per NBC. Eighteen-year-olds Jaquory Arman Watson and Damari Zair Charles, who are reportedly part of a group who have been breaking into homes in California, per People, are currently being held at the Theo Lacy Facility in Orange County, and charges related to this situation are expected to come this week.

It was also reported that two other juveniles connected to this ring had been taken in. However, it’s unclear if they were involved in Pitt’s burglary.

The Ocean's Eleven actor's home was ransacked on June 26 when the burglars climbed over his fence, broke a window, and went into his residence. As of right now, police have not said what was taken. However, we do know that the actor’s security cameras helped identify the suspects.

As stated, Brad Pitt was not there when this all happened; he was in the midst of traveling the world and doing interviews and attending premieres for the F1 press tour.

Notably, this news about the break-in and the sale of Pitt’s home comes during a time when we’ve heard a lot about celebrity homes being broken into. Earlier this year, a person drove through Jennifer Aniston’s gate, Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban’s house was burglarized on Valentine’s Day, and the homes of Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson and more, have been broken into too over the last few years.

Now, as this issue continues to unfold, it would appear Pitt is moving, and new folks will move into his old home.

Meanwhile, he’ll continue working too. At the moment, while F1 has returned to IMAX, the actor is in the midst of shooting the Once Upon a Time in Hollywood spinoff The Adventures of Cliff Booth in LA (via Variety).

So, as we learn more about both the break-in and the sale of Brad Pitt’s now-former home, we’ll be sure to keep you posted. However, now we do know that these two things aren’t really that connected, seeing as the actor’s house was apparently already in the process of being sold when this terrible event took place.

Remember World War Z starring Brad Pitt? Back in 2013, it was a huge summer blockbuster inspired by the 2006 novel by Max Brooks, but with too many differences from the source material to really be called an adaptation. Well, apparently Paramount still remembers its commercial waves well and is looking to the title when mapping out its future at the movies. But, does it mean the long-teased World War Z 2 from David Fincher could finally see the light of day?

World War Z Was Just Named A Priority During Paramount Meeting

The Paramount Skydance Corporation has recently gotten a new chairman and CEO in David Ellison, who met with journalists on Wednesday to discuss his plans for the future of movies and television from the studio, per The Hollywood Reporter. While it’s no surprise he,and his colleagues name-dropped franchises like Star Trek, Top Gun and Transformers, the big head-turner was when World War Z was also named in the chit-chat as one of the studio’s “priorities.”

The zombie title was discussed amidst the company’s top brass sharing their plans to make “the No. 1 destination for the most talented artists and filmmakers in the world” and Eliison’s particular hopes to make more movies exclusively for theaters. World War Z was named in the studio’s plans alongside the interest for more horror and R-rated comedies to be featured in multiplexes.

What Happened To World War Z 2, And What Could Be Next?

It’s interesting to hear World War Z be named after World War Z’s sequel starring Brad Pitt and helmed by David Fincher was cancelled in 2019 after it had been greenlit by Paramount following the success of the 2013 movie. The reference to World War Z could signal a second chance for the shelved project.

Funny enough, Brad Pitt and David Fincher are currently working together on the spinoff of Once Upon A Time In Hollywood that's reportedly called The Adventures of Cliff Booth, where he’s reprising his role as Cliff Booth following starring in the Quentin Tarantino movie. Production for the project that has the director/actor combo from Se7en, Fight Club and The Curious Case of Benjamin Button started last month.

It’s certainly possible that after Pitt and Fincher work together again, they could be inspired to make a great zombie movie together. But at the same time, it’s also very likely World War Z would be completely rebooted with a new cast and filmmakers. The last time Pitt talked about it 2019, he called the sequel’s story “really good.”

It’s also worth noting that World War Z was Brad Pitt’s most successful commercial film he starred in for a long time before the recent box office haul for F1, which has surpassed it. We’ll keep an eye out, but I imagine if Paramount is looking at more World War Z, one would guess they'd try to get ahold of one of the biggest movie stars in the world to resume his leading man duties.

After Friends ended in 2004, Jennifer Aniston went on to have a successful movie career with her best films being hits like Marley & Me, Horrible Bosses and Dumplin’. Of course, it's also hard to forget about her iconic role in the 2006 romantic dramedy film The Break-Up, which made more than $100 million at the box office. Now, Aniston is getting real about how she felt about the timing of the offer for that role, which ironically came shortly after her "little separation” from Brad Pitt.

The year that Jennifer Aniston landed the role of a soon-to-be ex in The Break-Up, she was going through the same thing in real life. She and then-husband Brad Pitt announced their separation in 2005 amidst infidelity rumors about Pitt allegedly dating his Mr. and Mrs. Smith co-star Angelina Jolie. While re-watching The Break-Up during a segment for Vanity Fair, Aniston revealed how she felt about being offered the role soon and, apparently, she viewed it as a positive "opportunity." She explained:

I definitely see where Jennifer Aniston is coming from. Considering The Break-Up is about an ex-couple trying to drive each other out of their shared condo, the notion of offering a role like that to an actress going through her own break-up seems awkward.

To that point, Aniston previously busted out a great Brad Pitt divorce comment during the final episode of The Ellen DeGeneres Show. That comment specifically related to how Break-Up represented a new chapter in her life after her divorce, proving that the end of a marriage doesn’t mean the end of personal growth and renewed joy.

The Peyton Reed-helmed film is already one of Jennifer Aniston’s best movies, but these latest comments make me appreciate it even more. As Aniston rewatched the big-screen comedy for VF, she pointed out the relatable conflict her character and Vince Vaughn’s went through, during which her character wanted her boyfriend to do the dishes while he preferred to play video games. That’s a scenario Aniston believes many couples still go through now, and she also thinks Reed's flick tackles other pain points partners face.

Sure, some viewers may not be over the inevitable split the two characters go through at the end of The Break-Up. However, the movie certainly flips the narrative on the standard rom-com trope of the guy trying to win back his love and succeeding. In real life, that’s not always how it works.

What I appreciate about TBU is that it does a great job showing that while two people may not be together anymore, they can still forge a friendship. And, simultaneously, both can find their own happy endings. In real life, Jennifer Aniston and Brad Pitt reunited for a Fast Times at Ridgemont High virtual table read in 2021, during which Aniston described her and Pitt as “buddies.” So it seems there's a level of respect between the former spouses.

You would think after going through a “little separation” in real life that it wouldn’t be the best time to star in a movie about a break-up. However, I love that Jennifer Aniston owned her situation and helped make a movie that's still very entertaining.

Jennifer Aniston is set to make a big return on the 2025 TV schedule when The Morning Show Season 4 is available to stream with an Apple TV+ subscription in September, and you can bet she’ll be making more than a few headlines while promoting her character Alex Levy’s upcoming trials and tribulations. Fans can also bet she’ll be making a point of gabbing with and hanging out with her closest galpals like Sandra Bullock and Gwyneth Paltrow.

Despite being one of the planet’s most recognizable and beloved celebrities, Aniston hasn’t ever fully embraced the limelight in the way that others have, as she doesn’t view fame as being as vital a part of life as friendship, telling Vanity Fair that when she was in her 20s, she began joining women’s circles with her female companions, which had quite an effect. While anyone’s home can be broken into, celebrities are known for spending thousands on private security and top-of-the-line systems to keep their homes safe, but even with that, numerous celebs like Keanu Reeves, Brad Pitt, and Nicole Kidman have recently seen their property burglarized, and a security expert has given a mind-boggling reason for it.

There are a number of unfortunate reasons that famous people are targeted for crimes, but one that we see most often is that their celeb status usually means that their homes are filled with expensive goods. In fact, the recent shocking double murder of American Idol music supervisor Robin Kaye and her husband is thought to be due to the couple coming home and encountering a thief who was already inside.

The New York Post spoke with Bodyguard Group of Beverly Hills owner Kris Herzog to get an idea of why so many famous people are dealing with their houses being robbed right now, and his answer might shock you. Of the thieves, Herzog said:

As you may have guessed, this would mean that fancy security systems immediately become useless, which is the main problem. However, the tactics and troubling details don’t stop there:

Obviously, everyone will remember the horrible 2016 Paris robbery that Kim Kardashian (who recently returned to the city to testify at the trial) had to endure, but others have dealt with intruders being able to violate the privacy of their homes, which is something the Skims founder's younger sister, Kendall Jenner has experienced more than once.

This June saw Brad Pitt’s home hit, with criminals climbing a fence and then ransacking the domicile. On Valentine’s Day, the house of Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban was broken into when an intruder broke a window to gain entry, and late 2024 saw the watches stolen from Keanu Reeves’ home the previous year found…in Chile.

While celebs are often jetting off to amazing locales for fun or work, this also means that they are away from home frequently, and leaving the protection of their valuables up to security systems doesn’t seem to be enough anymore. Apparently, a number of the “signal-jammer gangs” don’t even call the L.A. area home, but are from South America. The outlet notes that they enter the city as tourists but have pre-arranged home theft sprees, and can even steal items “to order.”

They then leave the country (having the items fenced by others) and local police usually have trouble with being able to identify them (even with fingerprints or DNA evidence), because they are from other countries. All of this has made security a lot more difficult for celebs, and Herzog believes that they are “easy targets” because “they make [bad] security decisions.” This is one reason he uses off-duty police officers to patrol his clients’ homes in uniform and “retired police cars” that still look like the real deal. He added:

So, it would seem that the best advice is to bank on real people being on hand to protect your property. Let’s hope that, at the very least, as many future crimes as possible can be stopped without tragedy striking and people getting hurt, or worse.

Fans demanding accuracy in entertainment are a faction that have only grown in the modern age of movies. That’s something that applies even more to a 2025 blockbuster like F1, which sees Brad Pitt and Damson Idris jumping into very well-known racing machines for our entertainment. Or at least, it looks and sounds like it, as there’s actually a bit of sound editing trickery that was required due to the physical restrictions in the flashy motor cars used for the titular sport.

A recent interview with Gold Derby highlights the fact that the stars of the Warner Bros. adrenaline rush needed to be driving F2 cars for a very important reason: an F1 machine is apparently so precisely shaped to its driver that there wasn’t exactly room for the equipment that professionals like supervising sound editor Al Nelson need to do their jobs. Which lead to Nelson describing part of the solution, saying,

Thanks to recording authentic F1 engine sounds, while also having the footage of Brad Pitt and Damson Idris racing at 200 mph in an F2 car, movie magic happened. All that needed to happen was for the audio recordings to be swapped and tweaked, and F1 was ready to sell the hard-driving drama.

I wonder if any of this actually helped create F1’s fine tuned 4DX-perience? Better still, if Tom Cruise's developing Days of Thunder legacy-quel actually happens, will he try to use this as a reason to develop an F1 car friendly rig that allows him to be his Cruise-iest self?

Going slightly method during the picture’s production, there was a point when Pitt actually drove an F1 car belonging to driver Lando Norris. His top speed was just shy of 200 mph, and that must have been enough to give him the physical feeling he needed to imply while filming in an F2 car.

If at any point it wasn’t, I’m sure F1’s “hands on” producer Lewis Hamilton took the time to give the Ocean’s Eleven icon some pointers on how to sell the ups and downs presented in Sonny Hayes’ career. Putting all of those elements together makes for a precise performance machine of entertainment, and judging by F1’s opening weekend, one could say the race was won.

Think about this the next time (or the first time) you see Brad Pitt and Damson Idris’ racing epic. You may still be able to catch it in theaters, but be warned, your local movie house may need to make room for something Fantastic next week, so don’t wait too long.

From Bad Pitt to Ben Affleck to Chris Martin, Gwyneth Paltrow has been in many high-profile relationships. Now, new details about them are emerging in a biography, and that includes a story about a caviar-related problem she had during her relationship with Brad Pitt, and how it apparently led to her crushing on another very famous actor.

In the book Gwyneth: The Biography, Amy Odell covered the Shakespeare in Love star’s relationship with Brad Pitt in quite a bit of detail. In an excerpt published by People, it went over how she worked with the actor on one of the best movies of the ‘90s, Se7en, and the start of their relationship. Then, when she went to work on Emma, she apparently started having doubts, as the book claims:

To the actress’s point, she is from LA and the Ocean’s Eleven star is from Oklahoma. So, that alone shows the different upbringings they had. Apparently, that played into their relationship and going out to fancy places.

Amid all that, she allegedly had a crush on Hugh Grant, too. Of course, he was one of the romance genre’s finest in the ‘90s thanks to films like Four Weddings and a Funeral, Sense and Sensibility and Notting Hill. So, like the F1 star, he was a major leading man and heartthrob back then.

Now, going back to Pitt and Paltrow, after Se7en, she went on to make three more movies before releasing Emma in 1996. Then, about a year after they broke up, she released five films, including Shakespeare in Love, which she won an Oscar for. According to this book, when Emma came out, she was apparently worried about her relationship with Pitt and his thoughts on her rising success, so she was thinking about breaking things off:

Eventually, the two broke up in 1997 after a short engagement. No reason was given at the time, but in 2015, the actress did say that she “wasn’t ready” and the actor “was too good for” her. Now, it would seem there's no bad blood between them. Apparently, Paltrow and Pitt still love each other, and she gave his skincare products the Goop stamp of approval a few years ago. Plus, the actress even played a lighthearted game of fuck, marry, kill on a podcast regarding Pitt, Martin and Affleck (she said she’d fuck Pitt).

Now, they’ve both fully moved on and have had multiple relationships since their breakup. As of right now, Paltrow has been married to Brad Falchuk since 2018, and Pitt has been dating Ines de Ramon since 2022.

They’re also both thriving professionally. In fact, Pitt just released F1 earlier on the 2025 movie schedule, and later this year, Paltrow will make her return to acting in Marty Supreme.

So, all around, it seems like all parties have moved on from this caviar-related problem.

Well, it feels like everyone who has seen Fight Club has broken the first two rules of Fight Club, which are “do not talk about Fight Club.” However, it’s one of the best movies of the ‘90s and a classic in David Fincher’s filmography, so it’s hard not to break them. So, for years, I’ve avoided the film because I knew the admittedly mind-blowing plot twist.

However, I decided to give it a shot recently, even though I knew the biggest surprise about it, and I’m thrilled to report that I was still very shocked by this movie.

Fight Club And I Are The Same Age, And I Couldn’t Avoid The Spoilers

I was born in 1999, and Fight Club came out in October that same year. Basically, the entire time I’ve been alive, this Edward Norton and Brad Pitt film has been around and talked about. Therefore, as a film enthusiast-turned-entertainment-journalist, I couldn’t avoid its biggest spoiler and one of the best plot twists ever.

For years and years, I’ve known that Pitt’s Tyler Durden was Edward Norton’s Narrator. In other words, I’ve known the Ocean’s Eleven star’s character wasn’t real. And I’ve known it was Norton’s character running the whole entire show. Therefore, I didn’t really see the point in watching the film if there was no surprise, especially since I’m not really into this kind of intense, hyper-masculine movie anyway.

However, it’s a classic, it’s one of Norton and Pitt’s best movies, and it felt like not giving it a chance was a disgrace. So, I decided to give it a watch with my HBO Max subscription, and by golly, did it surprise me.

I Was Shocked By The Narrator's Whole Relationship With Marla

The surprises started right at the start of the movie. Obviously, I knew Helena Bonham Carter was in the cast, however, I didn’t know how pivotal her character, Marla, was to the story. I also didn’t realize how wild her plotline was or the bizarre way she met the Narrator.

So, shock number one came when Norton’s character met Marla. The fact that they came into contact because they were both attending support groups that they really had no reason to be at was hilarious and incredibly odd. However, it immediately told me that they were on a similar wavelength, and it developed their connection in a clear and memorable way.

Then, shock number two was sustained throughout the rest of the movie as I watched Marla’s relationship with Tyler grow while the Narrator spectated. Although I knew, and Marla knew, that she was actually with Norton’s character, not Pitt’s, knowing that made these interactions even better and more surprising.

Watching Pitt and Bonham Carter dance in and out of scenes with Norton was masterful, and I was enthralled by the way her relationship with the men ultimately illustrated the plot twist to me. That, my friends, was unexpected.

I Didn’t See The Terrorist Group Coming

Now, I might have known about Fight Club because everyone talked about it. However, I had absolutely no idea it would turn into, essentially, a terrorist group. So, that led to a level of jaw-dropping that likely mirrored the one I could have had at the Tyler reveal.

I mean, talk about escalation. I knew this film made comments on the idea of toxic masculinity in a big, bold and violent way. However, going to the extent of starting a cult-like group in that dilapidated house and blowing up literal buildings was something I did not see coming at all.

Terror and rage were two of of the primary emotions I felt when this turn happened. I was overwhelmed by the toxic masculinity, and couldn’t quite believe the lows these men had fallen to. It was sad, horrifying, and lame of them. And I realize that’s what the movie wanted me to feel.

I knew Fight Club had been misunderstood by many when I sat down to watch it, and I knew it was a satire of sorts. That became abundantly clear when Project Mayhem came into the picture. It took the extremes of this movie to a whole new level, and it highlighted how these men had resorted to violent actions because they couldn’t cope with their lives in a healthy and productive way.

Overall, it was a fascinating, disturbing and surprising examination of toxic masculinity through a very extreme and jarring plotline that I didn’t see coming at all.

The Ending, Where He Shoots Himself And Kills Imaginary Tyler But Not Himself, Surprised Me

If you don’t know what’s coming with Fight Club, the scene where it’s revealed that the Narrator and Tyler are one and the same is by far the most unexpected part of the movie. However, if you know that’s going to happen without knowledge of anything else (which was my case), I’d say that the moment where Norton’s character essentially kills Pitt’s character is the biggest shocker.

Now, here’s what I saw: the Narrator got into a battle with Tyler, and then shot himself. We see the bullet go through the back of Tyler’s head, and the Narrator manages to survive, seemingly by shooting the gun in a way that made it so the bullet missed his brain. Then, the film ends with Marla and the Narrator standing hand-in-hand, looking out the window, watching the city explode.

It seems like the Narrator let Tyler go and banished that part of himself from his mind. Then, he faced the inevitable by watching the buildings explode, and he was forced to take in the consequences of his actions.

However, I also can’t shake how ambiguous this all was. Like, how did the Narrator survive? Can he actually kill a figment of his imagination? What happened with his relationship with Marla?

All this and more has kept me thinking about the wild ride that is Fight Club, despite knowing the plot twist before I started watching it. So, in the end, I’m very happy I finally sat down to watch this 1999 classic, because even though I knew the biggest twist, I was still very, very surprised by it.

Since F1’s premiere amid the 2025 movie calendar, the Brad Pitt-led blockbuster has received considerable buzz. During its opening weekend, the film placed high at the box office and drew a large audience beyond racing fans. A lot praise has also been directed at the actual making of the film, which involved the lead actors actually operating Formula 1 vehicles. Now, Pitt is casually sharing how, on the fly, he filmed a driving scene after realizing the comms had gone out.

Pitt's cool (and scary-sounding) anecdote was shared during a conversation with EW, which was posted to the outlet's Instagram account. The chat involved the film's principal cast members: Pitt, Kerry Condon, Damson Idris and Javier Bardem. The Fight Club actor recalled the first time they were filming on the track, and the cameras had just started rolling when the communication system malfunctioned. So he realized in real time, while driving Lando Norris' real car, as he flew down the racetrack:

I've got full-body chills over here! I couldn’t imagine driving a high-speed car and not being able to communicate with any members of the crew. To quote Simon Cowell, "It's a no for me." Of course, Brad Pitt is a professional, and he has experience operating complex vehicles. However, it sounds like even he was thrown for a loop when the situation happened.

Nevertheless, the A-lister had to do the job -- and perform it in a real stadium with actual racing fans cheering in the stands. (No pressure, right?) So, even though he had no way of receiving external guidance through the racing sequence, Pitt still felt confident enough to keep going. As he explained during the cast interview, there was a specific reason for that optimism:

The thought of winging such a scene sounds wild but, again, this is Brad Pitt we're talking about. As any major fan of excellent car racing movies probably knows, there is so much coordination, choreographing and constant communication that's required pull complex racing scenes. If all three of those elements are not working in perfect harmony, there can be complications. I'm just glad that Pitt was able to get through the sequence and apparently, unharmed as well. He's long proven himself to be a committed actor, and that's why he's paid the big bucks.

After Pitt's co-stars all gasped in awe (like me) due to his story, Javier Bardem asked if he still acted through the whole thing, too. Indeed Pitt did, as he was able to remember the choreography accordingly. Considering his masterful work in F1, I really wonder what could've been if Pitt had starred in Ford V Ferrari. I'd love to see him do a sequel to this latest racing film and, if that happens, I'd hope there are no more comm failures.

One of those questions has to do with the actor’s relationship with his kids. Well, now, as the F1 star made a move in his legal battle with his ex-wife, an insider made claims about how he feels regarding his relationship with his kids.

An Insider Made Claims About How Brad Pitt Allegedly Feels About His Relationship With His Kids

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt are the parents of Maddox (23), Pax (21), Zahara (20), Shiloh (19) and twins Knox and Vivienne (16). Their youngest twins are about to turn 17, and allegedly, Pitt is “desperate” to spend time with them. A source made these claims to The Daily Mail, explaining:

Apparently, he has not heard back from his two kids or their reps. The source went on to explain that the Ocean’s Eleven actor wants his children to be a bigger part of his life. They said he’s a “proud father,” and he wants to have good relationships with them:

Throughout this divorce, it’s been claimed that their kids are much closer to Jolie, and at the start of 2025, one insider told People that they allegedly wanted their mom to “speak up for herself” and “defend herself.” Along with that, a few of their kids have dropped Pitt as their last name, including Shiloh and Vivienne.

According to this latest report, the former couple's kids are “very important to his life,” and even though he’s at odds with his ex-wife in court, he apparently “will always want to be an anchor in” their lives.

Throughout the years of this legal battle, two of the biggest topics of conversation have been in regards to their kids and the winery Château Miraval. So, within the same week of these reports about his relationship with his kids, it was reported that Pitt made a big move in regard to the winery.

According to People, Pitt has asked for Jolie’s private communications, as he filed a court document that showed that he was trying to depose Stoli Group’s Alexey Oliynik. The actor is claiming that this person is in the know about Jolie’s 2021 sale of the winery to the wine division of the Stoli Group called Tenute del Mondo. Oliynik will not turn over the documents or appear for a deposition. He claims he doesn’t have to because he’s a resident of Switzerland.

This is relevant because Pitt’s 2022 lawsuit alleges that his ex-wife made this sale without his approval. Meanwhile, Jolie is countersuing him.

So, the legal battle rages on. Meanwhile, professionally, Brad Pitt just released F1 on the 2025 movie schedule, and that’s currently playing in theaters. Angelina Jolie has a movie called Couture in the works.

Ford v Ferrari is one of many great movies about auto racing, which went full throttle at the box office and was even nominated for four Oscars, winning two and becoming a modern classic. However, what if I told you there was once a version in the works that would have starred Brad Pitt and Tom Cruise together? According to Pitt himself, it was “this close” to happening. Pitt, who's currently basking in the glow of the success his racing flick, F1, is enjoying, is spilling the tea on the Ford v. Ferrari that almost was.

Brad Pitt recently engaged in a wide-ranging conversation with The National about the massive success of his 2025 movie release. Pitt casually dropped the bombshell that he and Tom Cruise were originally attached to an early version of Ford v Ferrari over a decade ago. It seems that the two actors were indeed passionate about the project, but it seemingly fell apart due to a major realization on Cruise's part:

Imagine Pitt as the fierce, no-nonsense racer Ken Miles, and Cruise as the charismatic, but track-bound, designer Carroll Shelby. Now, imagine them going head-to-head, working through gear-grinding tension and corporate meddling to take on Ferrari. That’s a version of the movie I think could have worked, but ultimately, will be left as a Hollywood “what if."

Additionally, it's interesting to hear that it all came down to who would get to drive. If the Mission: Impossible front man couldn’t be the guy behind the wheel, he wasn’t all that interested and, honestly, that tracks perfectly with everything we know about the man who straps himself to planes for fun.

That iteration may have fizzled out, but the project was reborn years later with Matt Damon and Christian Bale in the lead roles, both of whom delivered outstanding performances. The James Mangold-directed version earned massive box office success and critical acclaim.

The Legends of the Fall performer, for his part, is gracious about it. He gives props to the final film, calling it “great.” Now, F1 has finally been released, giving Pitt his own high-octane, crowd and critic-pleasing hit, even if our own Eric Eisenberg wasn’t so keen with all the sports movie cliches, which you can read about in CinemaBlend's F1 review. After nearly four decades in Hollywood, he’s calling it the blockbuster he always hoped to make.

Pitt's not done dreaming big either, as the Oscar winner told The National he’d love to reunite with Cruise. The last time they worked together was more than 30 years ago on the horror hit Interview with the Vampire. Pitt hinted that a reunion between the two A-listers could happen, maybe even for an F1 sequel that somehow ties into Days of Thunder. Pitt's well aware the Top Gun star wouldn’t say yes unless there were a steering wheel involved, yet he’s more than ready to “give it a go.”

Brad Pitt and Tom Cruise didn't appear in Ford v Ferrari, but the roads in Hollywood never really end. They just take sharp turns, and I'm excited and hopeful that an Interview with the Vampire reunion might loop back around, in the form of an F1 sequel.

Well, here’s something I never even imagined writing: Brad Pitt is a Ted Lasso fan. Of course, I don’t think I should be that shocked. The comedy is one of Apple TV+’s best shows, and it feels like everyone and their mother has seen it. However, I don’t think often about what A-listers are fans of, so I didn’t have this story about the F1 star gushing about Ted Lasso on my bingo card, but I’m thrilled it happened.

For those who don’t know, Pitt actually worked with a Ted Lasso cast member, Sarah Niles, on F1, which premiered on the 2025 movie schedule recently and is currently in theaters. In the Joseph Kosinski movie, the actress plays the mother of Sonny Hayes' (Pitt) teammate, Joshua Pearce (Damson Idris). In the Apple TV+ show, she played A.F.C. Richmond’s team psychologist, Dr. Sharon Fieldstone.

While the two were working on F1, Niles said Pitt came up to her to sing Ted Lasso’s praises, she told THR:

Well, that’s so sweet! I wonder if Pitt binge-watched Ted Lasso with an Apple TV+ subscription or if he watched week to week as the episodes dropped a few years ago. I’d love to know what his favorite wholesome Ted moment is and if there are any quotes from the show that he says, too.

Also, did Brad Pitt think Season 4 of Ted Lasso would happen? Now that the writers are hard at work on new episodes, I want to know if he’s as excited for them as I am.

All those inquiries aside, I adore knowing that the Moneyball actor is such a fan of the show. And he’s right to love Dr. Sharon Fieldstone. Niles played her brilliantly, and her character made such a major, positive, and emotional impact on the players and coaches she helped.

Along with this all being a sweet and fun fact about F1’s leading man, Niles also explained what it showed her about Pitt as a leader. She said:

Overall, it’s clear that Niles has a lot of respect and admiration for her co-star, and seems like the feeling is mutual. Now, I can’t wait to see how they continue to support each other.

I also can’t wait to see Season 4 of Ted Lasso, and now I can’t help but hope the Once Upon a Time in Hollywood… star finds his way into it somehow. I realize that’s probably a super far-flung dream. However, a girl can dream (or "believe" rather), and maybe Sarah Niles could pull some strings.

No matter what, though, I’m just thrilled that both of these sports stories exist. Ted Lasso and F1 each tell epic stories about people overcoming the odds and achieving what seems impossible. They’re uplifting and action-packed, and I love them both. So, it’s lovely to know that Brad Pitt does too.
