It feels like there’s a hole in the 2026 TV schedule without a new season of The White Lotus this year, but thankfully Season 4 has been coming together behind the scenes. Earlier this week, we received a bunch of casting updates about which actors are going to be checking into The White Lotus in the next season, including Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D’s Chloe Bennet. I love the video she posted about how she learned she’s on one of our favorite TV shows.

After Bennet was announced to be part of The White Lotus (via Deadline), the actress took fans behind the scenes about the moment she learned she had nabbed her role. Check it out:

The video shows Bennet on a video call with The White Lotus creator Mike White when he said she’s “officially approved” and “getting the offer on The White Lotus.” She reacted by jumping around with glee and getting sweetly emotional about booking the role. The 33-year-old has already accomplished a lot in her career thus far, but this has to be her highest-profile move yet.

Chloe Bennet is best known for playing Daisy Johnson/Quake on ABC’s Marvel series Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D for seven seasons. She told CinemaBlend a couple of years ago that her “body hurts” still from doing a lot of her own stunts on the action series. Since the show wrapped up in 2020, she was in the Hulu mini series Interior Chinatown and A Very Jonas Christmas Movie.

Bennet’s resume also includes a voice role in the DreamWorks movie Abominable and guest stints in shows like Dave and Invincible. But when you’re on The White Lotus, chances are you’re going to go viral. Just look at what the show has done for Season 3 stars like Parker Posey or Aimee Lou Wood!

The next season of The White Lotus is set to take place in South France, reportedly from April to October. As usual, the cast will get to travel in luxury like their characters. The biggest names starring in Season 4 are Helena Bonham Carter, Steve Coogan, and Kumail Nanjiani. The cast also includes Roseanne’s Sandra Bernhard, The Hunger Games’ Alexander Ludwig, former Disney Channel star AJ Michalka, and New Girl’s Max Greenfield among other names.

With her casting, Chloe Bennet is pretty much booked up for the rest of the year, and we’ll expect to see the season itself sometime in 2027. Until then, you can currently see Mike White on Survivor 50, which airs on CBS on Wednesdays. Apparently, being back on the reality show was even helpful to him before Season 4.

Chloe Bennet is back in action for the most exciting new on streaming series to binge this week: Interior Chinatown. In between Its clever social commentary on stereotypes in media and hilarious comedic moments with Jimmy O. Yang and Ronny Chieng, there are also some awesome fight sequences in the new TV show available to watch with a Hulu subscription. As Bennet told CinemaBlend, after her experience on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D that had fans hoping for a spinoff, she was content to not be part of them.

Bennet famously put the work in on ABC’s Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D., which ended after seven seasons back in 2020 with a fantastic series finale. The actress learned kickboxing, boxing, krav maga and jiujutsu to embody Daisy Johnson/Quake, who went on to lead the Inhumans, and has sustained multiple injuries while working as an actor. When I asked Bennet whether she gets in on the stunt action in Interior Chinatown, here’s how she responded:

While I wouldn’t consider 32 old and decrepit, she certainly deserves the right to take the bench after fronting a Marvel series for seven years. While filming the second season, a 23-year-old Bennet once told IGN how she broke her arm while rehearsing a fight scene and kept going to “not let” her stunt double do “as much as she should.” It’s seriously an impressive badge of honor that Bennet can say how much of the stunts on the ABC show were done by her, but this series, where she plays a detective named Lana Lee, did not call for her to fight, and she was A-OK with that.

That being said, she gave major props to her co-stars for doing their own stunts. Interior Chinatown’s lead, Jimmy O. Yang, shared with CinemaBlend how much he prepared for a big fight scene early in the show, and had this to say:

In the latest of book adaptations, Yang plays Willis Wu, a waiter who is working at a Chinese restaurant in the background of a cop show called Black & White. Not long after he realizes he is nothing but a background character in a larger story, he starts to become part of his own story when he witnesses a woman getting kidnapped. A fellow waiter and friend of his, Fatty Choi, is played by Ronny Chieng, who worked on action scenes with Yang. As he told us:

Chloe Bennet added to Chieng’s comments, saying that “most” stunts actually get cut. She’s quite the veteran! Lucky for her, she doesn’t need to lay a finger on anyone to steal her scenes, and Yang and Chieng had the chance to shine with their stunt work. Interior Chinatown is now streaming on Hulu.

During the entirety of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’s run on ABC, Chloe Bennet’s Daisy Johnson, a.k.a. Quake, proved herself an invaluable member of the core team, from her computer hacking skills or unleashing her Inhuman ability to manipulate and generate vibrations. Following the incredible S.H.I.E.L.D. series finale in 2020, there have been rumblings in the years since about certain characters from the show being brought back to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Now Bennet has MCU fans convinced that Quake is indeed returning after she roasted someone on Twitter.

This all started when Charles Murphy, who runs the website Murphy’s Multiverse, posted an enigmatic gif on Twitter of Chloe Bennet in an Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. scene. That led to a conversation unfolding between him and various Twitters users about Bennet’s acting abilities, and Murphy eventually said of the actress that “best acting on a soap opera isn't really a major accomplishment.” After reading this criticism, Bennet responded thusly through her own tweet:

As seen in the replies, Chloe Bennet got a lot of support for calling Charles Murphy out, but her saying that his tweets “aren’t going to age well” also has people wondering what she means by that. On the one hand, maybe Bennet is just implying that as more people watch Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. in the years to come, she’ll secure more fans of her take on Daisy Johnson. However, the dominant theory at the moment is that Bennet may have teased that she’s playing Quake again for a new MCU project (it wouldn’t be the first time she’s done this).

Should that be the case, then excluding Clark Gregg, who debuted as Phil Coulson in the MCU’s Phase 1 and later played a younger version of the S.H.I.E.L.D. agent in the 1995-set Captain Marvel, Chloe Bennet would be the first leading Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. actor to reprise their role in a setting outside of the show itself. Having said, just because Bennet might reprise Quake doesn’t necessarily mean she’ll be playing the same version of the character from S.H.I.E.L.D.’s seven seasons. After all, Charlie Cox and Vincent D’Onofrio have both respectively returned as Matt Murdock/Daredevil and Wilson Fisk/Kingpin over the last few years, but it still hasn’t been officially clarified if these are the same characters Netflix subscribers watched on Daredevil from 2015 to 2018.

Perhaps more importantly, although Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. started off as a direct tie-in to the Marvel film series, with movies like Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Avengers: Age of Ultron and Captain America: Civil War directly influencing what went down on the show, the events that unfolded in S.H.I.E.L.D.’s  later seasons became harder to properly connect to the main MCU continuity. Some, including myself, now think of S.H.I.E.L.D. as having taken place in a different universe (which Loki Season 1 seemed to strengthen), so if Bennet is playing Quake again soon, this could be the “main” version of her rather than her earlier S.H.I.E.L.D. counterpart. Then again, we are in the middle of The Multiverse Saga, so if an upcoming Marvel movie or TV show wanted to take S.H.I.E.L.D.’s Quake and thrown her into the primary MCU universe, it’d be easy enough to accomplish.

Of all the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. vets that fans would love to see make their want into the MCU in an unquestionably confirmed manner, Chloe Bennet sits extremely high on the list, with presumably millions of viewers eager for Daisy "Quake" Johnson to return for a big and bright Marvel future. To date, the actress herself has dealt with the broken record of "Are you coming back?" with all-encompassing denial, understanding that offering speculation-hungry fans even the tiniest shred of hope can result in an instant spread of erroneous presumptions. Which makes one of her latest social media posts unexpectedly bizarre on two different levels. 

Chloe Bennet took to Instagram for a seemingly innocuous and slightly NSFW series of pictures in which she, per her caption, passed down trauma onto her dog Arthur. Check them out below.

Anyone being perfectly proper and looking only at Bennet and Arthur’s faces — their eyes are up there, buddy! — may have easily missed the detail that has had Marvel fans speculating anew about her potential to reprise her Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. character in one capacity or another. In the first three images, she very clearly has a couple of daisies sticking out of her right sock. DAISIES!

Okay, so the plural form doesn’t work as well as the singular, since her character wasn’t “Daisies Joneses,” but the potential for Marvel shenanigans here is still at peak levels. As already hinted at, Bennet is abundantly aware of Marvel fans’ abilities to manifest rumors out of sheer desires, so to bring that particular flower into a post without specific signage indicating it’s all coincidence is just inviting the masses to cackle with investigative glee over where she could fit into any upcoming Marvel movies or shows.

Not that it would take a detective of Bruce Wa…er, Sherlock Holmes’ skills to have deciphered this, but still. Coincidentally enough, Bennet’s next big TV role (which isn’t Marvel-related) will be a detective for the in-development Hulu crime drama Interior Chinatown, based on the novel from Charles Yu. 

Of course, this post could also be a case of Chloe Bennet going into apex-mode in terms of trolling fans. Beyond being questioned about Quake’s fate within the MCU, she’s also quite used to being objectified online in the form of pictures where her face was Photoshopped onto bustier women’s bodies. So I guess flashing her dog and calling it trauma could be a reference to that? Okay I think I lost the metaphor somewhere there. 

Without Bennet directly addressing the sock daisies in some way — or sharing a follow-up where she moons a package of Quaker Oats, we’re left with only our theories and confusion. Though one commenter on the post predicted sock-flowers becoming a trend, and that sounds about as likely as Quake showing up in Disney+’s upcoming Secret Invasion series. Which is to say, both very and not at all.

It’s been almost two years since Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. ended and the characters went on their final time-traveling mission together. However, the cast remains pretty close, and they have reason to celebrate as of late. The underrated Marvel show is now streaming for those who have a Disney+ subscription, and the series has seen reignited buzz on social media as a result. Series alum Chloe Bennet wasn't exactly promoting the show when she recently posted a funny and cheeky social media photo, though her former co-star, Clark Gregg, responded to their unconventional "thirst trap."

Chloe Bennet and Clark Gregg portrayed Agents Daisy Johnson and Phil Coulson, respectively, on the ABC Marvel series, and the two characters grew to have a very loving father-daughter bond. Well, based on their recent social media exchange, it's still alive and well. Bennet shared two hilarious photos on Instagram of her trying on pants that didn’t “fit,” humorously exposing much of her bottom in the process – and Gregg responded in the most dad-like way:

The former Quake star may not quite have the thirst trap game of the Kardashians or Megan Fox, but her post is still perfect nonetheless. And the fact that her fictional father figure responded to it is simply the icing on the cake. Check out the post down below:

Chloe Bennet has not been shy about what she posts on Instagram and, in many cases, she likes to make jokes (if you couldn't already tell). But the actress also likes to use her platform to express body positivity and has even called out those who photoshop her photos for their purposes. All in all, I'd say the star deftly balances the kind of content she posts on her socials.

Of course, she (like Clark Gregg) remains popular among superhero fans and many are wondering if the two might appear in any upcoming Marvel movies. Last year, Chloe Bennet responded to rumors about the possibility of reprising her beloved role as Daisy Johnson in the Marvel Cinematic Universe proper, saying, “I wish.” It's definitely not a total impossibility and, since she dropped out of the still-in-development Powerpuff Girls reboot from The CW, she could now have the time to appear in some capacity.

Meanwhile, the man who played Phil Coulson for over a decade is keeping plenty busy post-Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. On the small screen, he's set to star in Netflix’s upcoming series Florida Man and has also landed a new role in the upcoming fourth season of TNT’s Snowpiercer.

It remains to be seen whether or not Chloe Bennet and Clark Gregg will ever team up for another production, though I'm hoping they will (and for a Marvel project at that). We'll see what happens but, in the meantime, I wouldn't mind seeing even more funny interactions between the two on social media. Regardless of whether their exchanges over thirst traps or another topic, it's always nice when they have a back-and-forth.

Photoshop can be used to do some pretty wild things. Movie studios can utilize it (to unimpressive effect) on posters for X-Men films, while TV shows like The Voice can use it to construct promotional photos of the judges. (Though stars such as Ariana Grande can appear heavily altered as a result.) In addition to entertainment entities, fans also implement such skills for various reasons, some lighthearted and some not-so-great. Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. alum Chloe Bennet has experienced the latter, as some users have photoshopped her face onto bodies with bigger boobs. After having discovered yet another example of this, Bennet is speaking out on the recurring issue. 

The actress, best known for playing Daisy “Quake” Johnson on the Marvel show, caught wind of a social media account that shared an altered image of her body. She retweeted said post from her Twitter account and expressed her discomfort with the fact that such images regularly circulate around the interwebs. You can check out her post down below: 

Unfortunately, this is something that’s become increasingly common on the Internet over the years. We’ve all seen those random photoshopped snapshots, whether they be in social media accounts or on random pop-ups. Though it happens to all sorts of stars, women arguably appear in these kinds of images more frequently. 

Based on her post, Chloe Bennet is hoping for a change to this growing trend, and you honestly can’t blame her for being unhappy with the situation. Not only are such images false, but one could argue that they’re also objectifying the person that’s being depicted. Some might even say that they promote false ideas of body image to unsuspecting Internet and social media users.

Many fans would probably agree that Chloe Bennet’s body isn’t what made her a beloved part of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. anyways. It was her winning performance as the powerful Quake, a character that she played for seven seasons. While she did admittedly sport some cool looks over the years, Daisy Johnson endeared herself to fans with her intelligence, wit and heart. Not to mention the fact that she could take down plenty of enemies with her seismic abilities. 

On that note, when the actress is online, she hasn’t just been seeing photos of herself with an enhanced bust. She’s also been bombarded with inquiries from fans regarding whether her fan-favorite character will return. Ahead of S.H.I.E.L.D.'s series finale, the star explained that she “definitely would” reprise her role, though she’s been shutting down Secret Invasion series.

Fans will surely be waiting for news on that front but, in the meantime, let’s hope she doesn’t have to deal with too many more of these altered images. Chances are she may actually appreciate some awesome (and anatomically correct) Quake fan art instead.

After playing the fan-favorite role of Daisy "Quake" Johnson for seven seasons on ABC's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Chloe Bennet made the surprising move to join The CW's Powerpuff Girls live-action series. However, following the failed pilot and the network wanting a “reworked” version of that project, Bennet ultimately dropped out. While it’s been over a year since fans last saw Bennet as Daisy Johnson on the ABC Marvel series, there’s been hope that she could return in the upcoming Marvel’s Secret Invasion series. Though the actress has some clear thoughts on the matter.

Earlier this year, it was reported that the new series was looking for “a Chinese-American woman, aged 20-25” for the Daisy/Quake role and since then, rumors have been swirling that Chloe Bennet could reprise her S.H.I.E.L.D. character once again. Following a frustrating experience at Target, Bennet decided to take to Instagram Stories to put the rumors to rest once and for all, noting (via TVLine):

This is not the first rumor that Chloe Bennet has had to deal with that involves her potential return to the MCU. In February 2021, it was also rumored that she’d be returning as Daisy Johnson for a new Marvel series. However, in that case she also replied to a fan in response to the rumor, saying she wishes it was legit. While it’s nice that Daisy is getting more recognition beyond Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., fans may have to wait a little longer to see the character on-screen once more, if it ever happens.

Even though Chloe Bennet isn’t returning, for now, could she at some point in the future? Ahead of the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. series finale last year, she had said in an interview she “definitely would” return as Quake if she were ever given the chance, so it's not outside the realm of possibility. We can always hope we get a Daisy/Quake cameo from her in Secret Invasion or perhaps a future Marvel project. Now that she’s no longer doing the Powerpuff reboot, Bennet has a little more time on her hands and a world of chances to be a superhero again.

We can hope that something Marvel happens for her.

The Powerpuff Girls live-action series planned for The CW has lost one of its main stars. Chloe Bennet, who was originally set to star in the upcoming series as Blossom, has officially stepped down from the role. The news means the series will need to search for another lead actress to play the character, but could it also mean something about Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.'s Quake and the MCU?

There are many questions to consider as Chloe Bennet was allegedly asked to extend her option so that Powerpuff (the name of The Powerpuff Girls reboot) could rework its pilot. Variety reports Bennet had a scheduling conflict, which forced her to step down from the role. The plan reportedly is for the series to search for another Blossom in the fall, while the rest of the cast is still in negotiations to return to reshoot the pilot.

Chloe Bennet evidently has another commitment that stands in the way of returning to Powerpuff, but what is that commitment? Her IMDB page doesn't hold any answers, which leads us to a tweet she responded to back in February 2021. Rumors swirled that the MCU was looking to bring back Quake with her own Marvel series, to which Bennet responded with the tweet "I wish." Could it be that Bennet coyly dismissed a rumor that was actually valid to avoid spoilers, or maybe someone at Marvel saw her interest and made a phone call to get in touch about making something happen?

We can only speculate based on what we know, and what we know so far is that Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.'s place in the MCU (which was admittedly already complicated) was seemingly removed by Loki. Loki, which is officially part of the MCU, explained that Agent Phil Coulson died in The Avengers. Many saw the move as a clear de-canonization of the events of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and if that was the point of the scene, it may be unlikely that Bennet would be offered a S.H.I.E.L.D. sequel television series as Quake.

With that being said, Loki and the MCU at large have blown the doors of the multiverse wide open. With infinite timelines and possibilities, it's easy to legitimize any past Marvel series as canon, including Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Perhaps the series wouldn't be a part of the MCU proper, but a variant of Quake could exist in the MCU and be introduced entirely separate from that story.

There's no denying there are fans who would love to see Chloe Bennet back in a Marvel project, as well as part of the MCU proper. Bennet has also stated she's willing to return and play the role, making her the best kind of actor for these types of jobs. Unfortunately, we don't really know what Bennet's other commitment is, so we'll just have to torture ourselves with hypotheticals until we know one way or another.

It seems Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. alum Chloe Bennet will have to wait a little longer to be once again be a superhero. Ahead of The CW releasing their 2021-22 schedule, the network has handed official series orders to two projects, as the others either remain in limbo or have been scrapped. Bennet’s Powerpuff reboot just got some bad news, but hope isn't completely lost for the project.

The Powerpuff Girls live-action reboot, which imagines the trio as adults after years of crime-fighting, has not technically been offed by The CW. According to Deadline, the network will instead rework the pilot, with actors Chloe Bennet, Dove Cameron, Yana Perrault and Donald Faison still attached to the project, along with the creative team. This new pilot for the series will be filmed off-cycle. Since the initial announcement, the series has created general buzz due to the popularity of the original series and the intrigue of seeing it reworked as a live-action series with familiar names. The series was reportedly seen as a strong contender for a pickup going into pilot season.

Last month, Dove Cameron expressed her excitement about joining the reboot as Bubbles. Having grown up without cable but still knowing who the Powerpuff Girls were was a crazy time for her. The former Disney star couldn’t reveal too much about the series but just “it is so exactly what you would want.” The CW reworking the pilot means the network still cares enough about the series to give it another try. And the fact that the cast and crew are still involved means they trust the creatives and what they want to achieve. Rebooting an iconic classic is not always easy, but the network seems to still have faith that the show will turn out how the way it's been envisioned.

Recently, it was announced that veteran voice actor Tom Kenny, who is arguably most famous for lending his voice to the lovable and yellow sea sponge SpongeBob SquarePants, would return to reprise his role of narrator for the live-action adaptation. Kenny served in the role during The Powerpuff Girls’ original Cartoon Network run from 1998 to 2005 and returned for its 2016 revival, which was also on Cartoon Network. However, it’s unknown if Kenny, as well as Light As a Feather’s Robyn Lively, who was going to play the Mayor’s faceless secretary Ms. Sara Bellum, will remain members of the cast.

Meanwhile, The CW has given series orders to DC Comics project Naomi and All American spinoff All American: Homecoming, joining new series orders for The 4400 and an adult version of Nickelodeon's kids game show Legends of the Hidden Temple. An addition, the potential Nancy Drew spinoff, Tom Swift, remains in contention at the network. Tian Richards actually made his introduction as the black, gay, billionaire inventor and sleuth in a recent episode of Nancy Drew.

It's to say when The CW could make an executive decision on Powerpuff or whether or not the show could be shopped to other platforms if the network chooses not to move forward with it. For now, it’s all about hoping that this new, reworked pilot will work out for the better and we get to see Chloe Bennet as a superhero once again.

For seven seasons of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. that for some unfortunate reason barely had any impact whatsoever on the MCU, Chloe Bennet starred as Daisy Johnson, who got increasingly more awesome as the seasons went by and her powers strengthened. While that show's stellar finale may have been the last time TV fans see Quake in live-action, Bennet will soon take on another powered-up role as part of The CW's curiosity-stoking Powerpuff Girls adaptation. And it looks like the actress is already getting into the right mindset for the role, or at least the right hair-set.

Chloe Bennet took to Instagram to show off her new reddish-orange-ish hair, which is almost definitely related to her future in the role of Blossom in Powerpuff Girls, which will also co-star Dove Cameron and Yana Perrault. Check it out below.

First off, let's all acknowledge that Chloe Bennet's caption in the post above is 100% fire, and it even outshines the hair reveal. The actress' ability to bring another female Asian superhero to the small screen is definitely worthy of a "fuck yeah" attitude, and she's no doubt going to be amazing in the role when it all comes together. The Powerpuff Girls might not be the most obvious place to celebrate inclusion in such a way, but we love to see it regardless.

To get back to the hair, though, Chloe Bennet thankfully didn't go too extreme or ridiculous with her new hair color, which is a subtle step in the red direction away from the dark blonde locks she sported previously. Granted, this might not be the finalized color for what she ends up bringing to The Powerpuff Girls, but even if that's the case, I could still appreciate this as a transitional shade. With the hair color situation now having been addressed, the big question now, of course, is whether or not Bennet's Blossom will rock Blossom's signature giant red bow.

Marvel fans have wondered for months now whether or not Chloe Bennet would be making an eventual return to the MCU through one of the many Disney+ TV shows that are being set up for the next few years, giving Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. another chance to crossover into the bigger comic book universe. (Even the Darkhold looked different when it showed up on WandaVision, which S.H.I.E.L.D.'s Ghost Rider portrayer Gabriel Luna had a fun reaction to.) She didn't have any good news on that front when she last spoke about it, but it does look like S.H.I.E.L.D. will be part of the Hawkeye TV show in some way, so there's always a chance.

At least, there's a better chance of Chloe Bennet returning to the role of Quake than there is of Bennet's IG post below having anything to do with her Powerpuff Girls performance. (Unless The CW is going in a really adult direction with this show.)

We don't yet know when The Powerpuff Girls will make its debut on The CW, which isn't surprising since it hasn't even started filming yet. But take comfort in knowing you can celebrate Chloe Bennet's awesomeness every day from now until then, so get to it.

After Cartoon Network's most recent The Powerpuff Girls reboot failed to fully revitalize the animated series' fanbase, one might have expected the franchise to lie dormant for a while. But nobody can keep Blossom Bubbles and Buttercup out of the limelight for long, and The CW's upcoming live-action reboot has taken a big step forward by casting its three titular heroes with two awesome Marvel actresses and a musician: Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. vets Chloe Bennet and Dove Cameron, as well as Broadway star Yana Perrault.

That's right, the new Powerpuff Girls show has secured a trio of powerful women to bring the animated kindergarteners into adulthood. According to THR, Chloe Bennet was tapped to portray Blossom Utonium, whose too-perfect childhood led to her securing advanced college degrees. While she is a bit of a social wallflower due to her repressed childhood trauma, it's her goal to rise up to became a leader once more, though not guided by others' motivations.

Meanwhile, Dove Cameron will play Bubbles Ultonium, who won over America as a young girl with her adorbs sweetness. As an adult, her charm is mixed with a toughness formed over time, and a wit to match. Don't be too fooled by her outward demeanor making it appear as if she's more invested on becoming famous again than on doing actual heroics, for there's more to Bubbles than meets the eye. Having been one of the stars of Disney's The Descendants franchise, as well as the villainous Ruby Hale on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Cameron knows quite a bit about battling heroes. But to counter that, the Liv and Maddie vet also voiced Ghost-Spider in the Marvel Rising shorts, so she's well-rounded enough for the outspoken Bubbles.

Finally, Yana Perrault will star as Buttercup Ultonium, who has spent much of her life trying to shake off the tough and rebellious persona that she embraced during the group's rise to greatness. She's a more sensitive person in her 20s and, like Blossom, isn't necessarily seeking attention and acclaim like Bubbles is. Similar to Dove Cameron, Perrault is known for her music as much as her acting. She most recently appeared in the Broadway musical take on Alanis Morissette's album Jagged Little Pill, so it's feasible that she'll be bringing some of that project's verve over to The Powerpuff Girls-verse.

While Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. fanatics have been clamoring for Chloe Bennet to return to the MCU to reprise the role of Daisy "Quake" Jones, but it seems like that might have to take a step back, assuming any plans for it even existed. At least we know that Bennet won't be powerless for very long.

It's not yet known when The Powerpuff Girls will make its live-action debut on The CW, but hopefully we'll all hear an announcer's voice introducing us all to the new trio someday soon.

With the Marvel Cinematic Universe now expanding its reach within the TV realm, it would appear that just about anything is possible. WandaVision alone is clear evidence of that notion. But even though Marvel Studios has now taken the reins on the brand’s small-screen content, there are plenty (including myself) who would love to see the return of characters from Marvel Television’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. One of the characters fans would really like to see more of is Chloe Bennet’s Daisy “Quake” Johnson, and it was recently rumored that she’d be returning for a new MCU show. Now, the actress has responded to the claims.

An Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. fan recently shared a report claiming that Chloe Bennet had lined up a new Marvel show. The Twitter user tweeted at Bennet, asking if the news was true, but her answer is sure to be disappointing for many. Check it out below:

It would seem that Chloe Bennet won’t be returning to the world of Marvel, at least not right now. Marvel Studios is currently focusing on further developing established movie characters and introducing new ones as opposed to bringing in familiar faces from other TV properties. So it would appear that re-introducing Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. characters into the franchise isn’t a priority for the studio at the moment.

Despite this, the character of Quake has still been getting a lot of attention since Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. wrapped up its seven-season run last summer. With the high number of shows Marvel is releasing to Disney+, fans are hoping the heroine gets another shot. The passion of the fans has been so strong that one even went as far as to create a custom trailer for a Quake TV series, and it’s honestly pretty impressive.

Chloe Bennet’s most recent response to the rumors only reinforces her desire to reprise her fan-favorite role. When she previously discussed the matter, she enthusiastically said she “definitely would” love to play Daisy Johnson again. Although she was mostly satisfied with Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., she has admitted to having somewhat “mixed emotions” about it. So maybe she’s looking to add a bit more to Quake’s story.

Even if Marvel Studios doesn’t have any plans for any of S.H.I.E.L.D. 's characters at this moment, the idea of seeing them in the MCU proper isn’t impossible. I mean those Daredevil/Spider-Man 3 rumors alone are enough to give fans hope.

One can only hope Chloe Bennet does indeed get the opportunity to play Quake again. Daisy Johnson proved to be an incredibly complex character, and Bennet played her beautifully. And of course, seeing her use her seismic abilities was also cool.

I’m kind of The Avatar/The Legend of Korra guy round these parts. And being such a huge fan of the whole Avatar universe, I think about it frequently. Maybe too frequently. Actually, no, you can never think about Avatar too frequently. And that’s why even though we’ll probably never in a million years get a live-action The Legend of Korra movie, you can’t keep me from dreamcasting a hypothetical movie version! You just can’t!

Now, first things first. There will be no whitewashing in my hypothetical The Legend of Korra movie. So, even if you don’t like my picks, you’ll likely at least still be okay that we’re not going to run into one of the main issues of the Avatar: The Last Airbender movie. Secondly, I’m going to focus on Book 1 of The Legend of Korra cartoon, so my villain will be Amon. And lastly, I know I’m not going to get a sequel, so I’m going to make Korrasami a thing in this movie. And I don’t care if you think their relationship needs more than one film to evolve. It’s my movie, and I want Korrasami, dammit! Now, on with the dreamcasting!

Korra (Chloe Bennet)

Korra is brash, yet vulnerable. A leader, and yet desperately in need of friendship. And, oh, she’s also the avatar, and you gotta deal with it. A lot of people don’t like Korra for a variety of reasons, but at her heart, she’s a barrel full of emotions and is just trying to figure out her place in the world. You know, like most people. She also goes through some traumatic experiences, and comes out a changed person in the end. So, I definitely want somebody who can both kick ass and show emotional change throughout her journey.

Enter Chloe Bennet, probably best known as Daisy Johnson (or Quake) from Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. (though, she also voiced Yi in the animated movie Abominable). Bennet has proven that she can look like she can handle herself in a fight, but also like she can handle emotional depth, like during the Secret Warriors story-arc where she ended up leaving S.H.I.E.L.D. Plus, she’s already played an Inhuman. So, why not a bender?

Bolin (Ki Hong Lee)

Bolin is the comic relief of the show (Well, him and Verrick). The earthbending brother to Mako who would later become the movie star, Nuktuk, can also be serious when he has to be. But the one thing to always remember about Bolin is that he cares. And he’s also a loyal friend to the end. He may not be Sokka, but does he really have to be? No. The answer is no, he doesn’t. And he’s all the better for it.

I actually think Ki Hong Lee would be the perfect Bolin. He’s shown he can handle himself in an action movie, like he did with his role as Minho in The Maze Runner, but also that he could handle comedy, like he did in Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt as Dong Nguyen. And hell, he’s even voiced The Totally Awesome Hulk in the animated Spider-Man series. Give this man the role already! Jeez!

Mako (Harry Shum Jr.)

Whereas Bolin is the silly brother—the Michelangelo of Team Avatar, if you will—Mako is the more serious, disciplined brother. Not quite the Raphael, but also not quite the Leonardo, either (and I have no idea why I’ve started referencing the Ninja Turtles when describing Mako. Please just follow me here). Mako would probably be a loner if not for having to take care of his brother. He eventually becomes a police officer and is one of Korra’s most loyal allies. But he’s also a love interest to Korra early on before she falls in love with Asami.

I’d pick Harry Shum Jr. to be my Mako. He’s probably most recognizable as Mike Chang from Glee, but I’m thinking of him more from his roles in the Step Up series, Shadowhunters, and Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon: Sword of Destiny. Mako is the kind of character who has a lot to say, but remains quiet and mostly talks through action. And Harry Shum Jr. definitely has the moves to portray a firebender. But I also think he has the acting chops to play Mako as well, as seen in his role as the warlock Magnus Bane in Shadowhunters. You know what? I really shouldn’t be writing this article, because I now want this movie more than ever! Harry Shum Jr. would be perfect as Mako! Absolutely perfect.

Asami (Lana Condor)

Okay, so maybe Asami is the Sokka of The Legend of Korra? I only say that since she’s the only nonbender in this version of Team Avatar. She’s not really funny, but she’s earnest and even goes against her father when she sees his disdain for benders. She is also Korra’s one and only toward the end of the series. But Asami is a threat in her own right, too, as she is both a businesswoman as well as somebody who is willing to throw down to protect her friends. We’re going to need somebody with a lot of range to play Asami… Hmm…

I got it! Lana Condor. She played a minimal role in X-Men: Apocalypse as Jubilee, so I know she’s down for action pictures, but she also played the complex Lara Jean in To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before. I think she could navigate the role of somebody who feels a need to uphold family honor, but also one who believes in following her heart, and Lana Condor could pull that role off to a T. I especially think she’d be a great love interest for Korra. Phew, okay. And now, for my hardest pick of all. The villain.

Amon (Vincent Rodriguez III)

Leader of the anti-bender group known as the Equalists, Amon likes to pretend that he’s a nonbender when in actuality, he’s a waterbender who specializes in bloodbending! When he bloodbends, he can actually take away a person’s bending ability, leaving them feeling worthless and broken. Amon is one of Korra’s fiercest foes in the entire series, so we need somebody who can be super convincing and scary in the role.

Okay, so hear me out with this one. You remember when everybody heard that Heath Ledger would be playing the Joker, and then people were like, him? You mean from 10 Things I Hate About You? No way! But then, when they actually saw the role, they shut up instantly? Well, I think the same thing would happen with Vincent Rodriguez III, whose main role was on the cult hit TV series, Crazy Ex-Girlfriend. Yes, the show is a comedy, but Vincent Rodriguez III showed that he could actually be quite intimidating in the role as Josh Chan, but also somebody who could be sympathetic. In that way, I pick Vincent Rodriguez III as my antagonist for my hypothetical, never-going-to-happen (Dammit) The Legend of Korra movie!

But what do you think? Did I get a home run with all five of my picks, or did I strike out completely? And of course I didn’t forget about Tenzin or Lin Beifong. Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. only closed out its seven-season run a few weeks ago, but fans are already missing the show, especially its fun collection of characters. One of the characters they would probably most love to see more of is Daisy Johnson a.k.a. Quake. Chloe Bennet’s seismic superhero dazzled fans not only through her Inhuman abilities but through her humor and heart as well. Neither Marvel Studios nor ABC have announced any future plans for Johnson, but one fan has taken the initiative and created an awesome trailer for a Quake spinoff series.

The Quake trailer may not be real, but this fan managed to perfectly capture the hero and her journey by incorporating clips from various seasons of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. They even took the initiative to create a cool logo. Check out the fan-made trailer for yourself down below:

Now, if this doesn’t make you want a Quake TV series, then I don’t know what will! The nearly 90-second trailer manages to capture everything we love about the character and covey the necessary emotional heft that’s been present throughout her story.

Daisy Johnson was first introduced in the pilot as Skye, a superhero-obsessed hacktivist living in a van. Her activities eventually attracted the attention of Phil Coulson, who would recruit her for his new covert team. Skye more than proved her merit as an agent early on but, in the second season, her story would take a significant turn when she underwent Terrigenesis and gained seismic abilities. The season also introduced her parents and revealed her true birth name of Daisy Johnson.

After gaining powers, Daisy took on the codename Quake, using her powers to assist Coulson’s team. In the final season, Daisy was instrumental in helping the team prevent the Chronicoms from destroying Earth. In the process, she also met and started a relationship with Agent Carter’s Daniel Sousa and learned that she had a half-sister who died before Daisy’s parents even met. The closing moments of the series finale revealed that Daisy is currently exploring space with Sousa and sister Kora (who was brought over to the main timeline) on the Zephyr Three.

This lingering plot thread leaves the door open for a multitude of possibilities, something the trailer also emphasizes. Although Chloe Bennet has previously shot down rumors of a Quake spinoff project, the actress has expressed her desire to keep playing the role in a post-S.H.I.E.L.D. world.

Creating a Quake show would make plenty of sense, especially given the character’s popularity among fans. And with Marvel Studios now making a push to create TV content for Disney+, such a project could be a welcome addition to the studio’s slate.

Regardless of how things pan out, fans still have over a hundred episodes worth of Skye/Daisy/Quake action to revisit. Still, it would be nice if this trailer enticed Marvel to put some kind of spinoff into development.

The Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. series finale (!) was filled to the brim with time-traveling adventures, a redemption arc for Kora, some emotional goodbyes, and a big reveal about FitzSimmons. (It was also nice for Fitz to finally show up to explain what he’s been up to after a season-long absence.) Before Enoch died, he revealed that the team’s Season 7 mission would be their last together. At the end of it all, Daisy was perhaps the most reluctant to bid farewell, and Chloe Bennet also had some “mixed emotions” about how the series finale wrapped up.

Over the course of seven seasons, Daisy Johnson had come to embrace and rely on her tight-knit team of S.H.I.E.L.D. agents. In a conversation with Mack, she reasoned that the fight against the Chronicoms couldn’t possibly be their final mission. They couldn’t just say goodbye to each other, right? After all, the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. series finale emphasized that they were all fighting for their makeshift family, which made the goodbyes at the end that much more emotionally resonant. In a roundtable interview with CinemaBlend and other outlets, Chloe Bennet revealed that she wanted more time spent on the characters' farewells. Here’s how she put it when asked about the importance of "family" in such a situation:

Hmm, does that mean that there were more scenes with the team that ended up on the cutting room floor, or is she just mixing cast goodbyes with character farewells? Whether or not either of those is the case, I don’t disagree with her assessment. While the goodbyes were indeed emotional, there was certainly a whole lot of plot to get through, and Fitz also had a lot of exposition regarding what exactly he and Simmons were planning, and how they managed to pull it all off. As such, the finale wasn't able to provide more time for extended group scenes to ramp up the heartfelt emotions..

Despite Chloe Bennet’s “mixed emotions” about how the goodbyes were captured onscreen, though, that final group scene was incredibly touching. It was also quite a bittersweet moment once viewers realized that Coulson, Daisy et al weren't actually in the same room together, as they were all hologram projections. Bennet conveyed how very real that scene felt for her and the rest of the cast, as both their characters and as actors. In her words:

Excuse me while I go grab my hologram tissues. Seriously, though, the cornerstone of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. was less about Marvel machinations and more about the characters’ relationships with each other. They shared a deep bond that has obviously bled into the actors' lives off-screen as well. The fact that it’s all over now feels all too real for the cast and for viewers. That said, the final group scene worked like a charm in bringing the emotion and it was indeed “really special.”

Having played the character for so many years, it has to be somewhat difficult for her to close the door on Daisy. While that reality will truly set in once the series finale airs, Bennet definitely isn’t giving up hope when it comes to Quake’s future:

On the surface, the chances of seeing Quake again may seem slim, but Bennet made sure to mention that there was a time when another character’s return also seemed like an impossibility:

She makes a good point, because I think most would agree that we thought Coulson was finished after Loki impaled him with that scepter. So whether Daisy lives or dies by the end of the series, there’s still a chance for her to return.

But before we get to that, she and her fellow agents still have plenty of obstacles to face. The season has already been challenging for Daisy, but tonight’s episode could be an emotional rollercoaster for her.

Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’s final season has been an emotional experience, one that’s certainly giving fans a bittersweet feeling. Nevertheless, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. has delivered a stellar final season up to this point, and all signs are pointing to an unforgettable series finale. Chloe Bennet has previously promised that the finale won’t present longtime viewers with a “Game of Thrones situation.” Meanwhile, co-star Jeff Ward firmly believes that the producers stuck the landing when it came to closing out the series.

Viewers still have a few episodes to go before they can lay their eyes on the finale but, after the latest episode, it would appear that the team will not be the same after they finish their final mission. Needless to say, fans are probably going to need to get their tissues ready.

Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. recently returned for a time-traveling seventh and final season, and fans are bracing themselves for how it will end. As expected, many have concerns regarding whether the showrunners can deliver a satisfying series finale. We still have plenty of installments to go before that final episode premieres, but one S.H.I.E.L.D. promises it won't be anything like the Game of Thrones finale.

Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. star Chloe Bennet does not think that fans are in for a Game of Thrones-style scenario when it comes to the show's last episode. What she's specifically referencing is the onslaught of controversy that series wrought following its final season. Asked about whether fans will be satisfied with how the series’ ends, Bennet said:

Based on Chloe Bennet's comments to Collider, it doesn't sound like Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. fans need to worry about having to start a petition to remake the final season. Bennet also added that S.H.I.E.L.D. was always keeping the fans in mind as they wound down the series after seven seasons.

Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. has had a rocky path since it debuted in 2013, but the fact that it's managed to survive all this time can be attributed to its ardent fans, a sentiment that Chloe Bennet agrees with. And based on what we know about the season so far, it's apparent that Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. is doing just what the fans were hoping for.

An Agent Carter star is one of the faces that will populate the final season, as fan-favorite Patton Oswalt was also recruited for Season 7. As Chloe Bennet points out, the superhero drama didn't end things there, either. Little flourishes such as Daisy’s wardrobe also serve as callbacks that longtime viewers will remember.

Hopes are undoubtedly high for Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’s final run of episodes and, ultimately, its finale. For their part, Game of Thrones fans had reasons to be anxious heading into its last season. One of its stars, Maisie Williams, had warned that fans may not be satisfied with the conclusion, which ended up being the case.

In fact, the aforementioned petition calling for a remake of Season 8 garnered over one million signatures. Chloe Bennet sounds confident that fans will be pleased with how Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. comes to an end. So hopefully, in a year, fans of the ABC series will have nothing but positive things to say about it. It's definitely what Phil Coulson and his team deserve.

One of these is, of course, the fact that Phil Coulson is back – but is now an advanced LMD that will be guiding them as they travel through time. His presence is sure to stoke up mixed feelings within the characters, especially Daisy Johnson/Quake. Though according to Chloe Bennet, Quake’s feelings may not be what you’re thinking.

Despite the fact that this Coulson is essentially a replica of the original, Chloe Bennet says Daisy is happy to have her old boss back. Losing Coulson on so many occasions in the past has apparently helped her to look past the LMD’s wired interior:

Chloe Bennet did admit to TVLine that LMD Coulson is a lot for her character to process but, with the fate of the planet and S.H.I.E.L.D. hanging in the balance, she’s not going to have time to think about it too hard:

Chloe Bennet isn’t the only Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. to speak on the complexities of having an LMD Coulson in the mix. Coulson actor Clark Gregg was even surprised by the notion of having his fan-favorite character appearing in this manner.

Coulson shared deep bonds with several members on his team, but Daisy was definitely one of those closest to him. From the moment he discovered her (then going by Skye) in the first season, they formed a father/daughter relationship. Coulson was there for Daisy through every trial and tribulation she faced and, whenever she strayed too far, he was always there to pull her back from the edge. This made things all the more tragic when Daisy was forced to say goodbye to her dying father figure at the end of Season 5 and fight a lookalike in Season 6.

Although LMD Coulson was created by Jemma Simmons, Leo Fitz and Chronicom pal Enoch, Daisy was the one who activated him, as her teammates were hesitant to do so. This means she’s certainly eager to have him back in some form or fashion. Still, you have to wonder whether or not she’ll regret this decision as the season progresses.

We’ll see how LMD Coulson gets along with the rest of the team when Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’s final season premieres tonight at 10 p.m. ET at ABC.

This has even led to Johnson being featured in the animated Marvel Rising specials, where she is also voiced by Bennet. So creating a starring vehicle for her could be a smart move.

It’s bittersweet to know this season could be the final time we see Chloe Bennet’s Quake on our screens. Nevertheless, we can still take pleasure in watching the final leg of her S.H.I.E.L.D. journey. Plus, we can always hope she’ll be brought back sometime in the future.

The final season of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. premieres on Wednesday, May 27 at 10 p.m. ET on ABC.

Dreamworks’ Abominable tells the story of a group of young friends who encounter a Yeti named Everest and must help it find its way back home to reunite with its family. As an animated film featuring a sadly mythical creature (we think), the voice cast of Abominable had to do a lot of acting opposite an invisible character and that presented a unique set of challenges. The cast recalled what it was like in an exclusive interview with CinemaBlend’s own Jeff McCobb. Take a look:

Chloe Bennet, who many Marvel fans will know as Daisy/Skye/Quake on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., stars in Abominable as Yi, the “kickass tomboy” teenage girl who first meets the Yeti. The relationship between Yi and Everest is important to the film but as Chloe told Jeff, in the recording booth, there was nothing there at all for her to interact with or to help her get into character for her performance.

It wasn’t just the absence of a live yeti or even a dude wearing a silly cardboard cutout on his head that makes getting into character for something like this a challenge. Chloe Bennet is known more for her live-action work and is not a dedicated voice actress and she noted that doing the voice acting in the booth strips her of the elements that help her get into her performance like her hair and makeup, the set and the other actors standing across from her.

As such, Chloe Bennet had to really use a lot of imagination to become Yi and imagine Everest in front of her. But she found the fact that it was just about her voice rather than other superficial aspects rather freeing, and made her more confident than she would be on a traditional set.

For Albert Tsai and Tenzing Norgay Trainor, who play Peng and Jin respectively in Abominable, recording scenes where their characters interacted with Everest was very different than when they had to interact with the other human characters.

Abominable director Jill Culton would read the other characters’ dialogue when Albert or Tenzing were in the recording booth, so they would be directly interacting with the other characters, but that wasn’t really the case for Everest. That was challenging because they would have to react, often without actual dialogue, just audible noises, to the actions of a yeti that they couldn’t see.

There wasn’t any sort of pre-vis for the actors to watch to see what Everest was doing, so as Jill Culton recalled, she would basically have to describe the actions of the yeti to the actors to help them visualize and inform their performance. As strange as it might sounds, it seems like it all worked to get them into character because there were scenes where the director, star Chloe Bennet and those in the recording booth were all crying in what looks to be a tear-jerking film.

Dreamworks Animation has always been an interesting enigma in the world of animated entertainment. While it’s been an established name in the field for a little over 20 years, the studio still has a bit of an identity crisis when it comes to its overall canon. For every memorable franchise like Shrek, Kung Fu Panda, and How To Train Your Dragon, there’s a Boss Baby or The Croods that effectively weakens the brand.

It’s a mixed history that has seen Dreamworks Animation riding some tumultuous highs and lows over the years, with the occasional release being a reminder of what put them on the map in the first place. This is why it’s hard to say that Jill Culton's Abominable, the studio’s latest gamble, is a film that shows promise, but buries it under an avalanche of pandering and lame jokes.

Interestingly enough, Abominable is the third Yeti movie we’ve seen within the span of a year that focuses on the interactions between humanity and that mythical beast. This time out, our human surrogate is Yi (Chloe Bennett), a young girl who hustles through tons of side jobs, putting family and friends aside to earn the money she needs to chase a personal dream and go on an adventure that would take her to many of the most beautiful locations in China.

This chaotic lifestyle is further complicated when Abominable’s Yeti, named Everest, finds itself lost on the streets of Shanghai. Yi and Everest become fast friends, leading our protagonist to team with two of her friends (Albert Tsai, Tenzing Norgay Trainor) in an effort to make sure Everest gets home, and not recaptured by an eccentric millionaire (Eddie Izzard) and his zoological expert on hire (Sarah Paulson).

The good news (and quite possibly the best news that I can deliver when it comes to Abominable) is that it’s a better Yeti movie than last year’s Smallfoot. That particular film took the route of a dopey musical comedy that tried to act deep, and that is definitely not the case with Abominable. However, that's faint praise in light of the efforts of this year's Missing Link, which had more of a soulful execution in its efforts with that very same creature. Writer/director Jill Culton’s movie does have a strong kernel of an idea upon which it's built, but the genre trappings it decides to pile onto that idea land it in-between those competing efforts when it comes to its level of success.

Yi’s dream, which is connected to the memory of her late father, ties into everything that her character stands for. In theory, her commitment to the memory of her father, and the dream they shared, is a perfect foil to her friends, Peng and Jin, who are fixated with basketball and popularity, respectively. Done right, there could have been a good story to be told, with a timeless lesson waiting at the end.

There’s even a strong conservationist message in Abominable, with a character that’s normally reserved for the side of evil taking a total 180 by the end of the film. It’s twists and accents like these that hint at a better version of this project existing at some point. Which, in turn, suggests that the reason the execution of these ideas is so flawed is due to the classic cause of death for most promising movies: filmmaking by committee.

Rather than trust its deeper story to grab the attention of both child and adult, Abominable weighs down its narrative with repetitive jokes about selfies, basketball, the condition of an expensive pair of sneakers, and a myriad of other cheap attempts at laughter. Undoubtedly the victim of comedy punch up work that accompanies such a film, Dreamworks Animation couldn’t resist putting its trademark smirk on the movie, and the end result suffers endlessly for it.

This really makes the fact that a diverse and talented cast is at play both a blessing and a curse, as the material fails the actors. That being said, they pull as much as they can from the fires before the house burns down completely. Chloe Bennett’s Yi is a hero that children can look up to, and her character is so well drawn that she could have truly carried this film if given stronger material. That’s not to say that her co-stars Albert Tsai and Tenzing Norgay Trainor don’t hold their own, but again, their talents can only do so much with the writing given to their respective characters.

It isn’t that Abominable is a bad movie, but rather it’s a frustrating and disappointing one. Much like the mixed results of Dreamworks Animation’s filmography, the mixture of sincerity and mass market humor puts the film off the mark it’s trying to hit. There’s some laughs and tears to be had by time everything wraps up, and a running gag involving a particular breed of snake will be a memorable joke that’s bound to dominate the discussion of this film.

As far as achieving the goals of Abominable’s ambitious and emotional story are concerned, though, the casualties are heavy. Kids may sit with rapt attention watching the adventure unfold before their eyes in beautifully colored detail, but adults will see the deep flaws that separate this story from greatness. It may have good intentions and lush visuals to please the eye, but Abominable still isn’t yeti for prime time, squandering its promising premise in the name of looking cool for the kids.

Disney may be in the midst of rolling out a ton of exciting MCU television shows on its upcoming streaming service Disney+, but Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. was the first series to connect to the universe. Chloe Bennet has starred as Daisy/Quake in the show since 2013 alongside Mulan voice actress Ming-Na Wen. The co-stars can now bond over their voice work as badass Chinese animated characters since Abominable is soon coming along.

In the new Dreamworks and Pearl Studio film, Chloe Bennet will play Yi, a young teenage girl living in a big Shanghai-esque city in China with her mom and grandma when she comes across a Yeti. Bennet herself lived in China with her “nai nai” too during her own teen years to pursue a pop career, and apparently her actual grandma resembles her character right down to the haircut.

“It’s kind of her in a lot of ways” co-director Todd Wilderman told CinemaBlend when we visited the Dreamworks’ campus to get a first look at the animated project. They discovered Chloe Bennet when she was a guest on Jimmy Kimmel Live! some years ago. They’d been on a quest to find a Chinese actress for the role and she was instantly drawn to the role when they contacted her. Wilderman also told us this of Chloe Bennet’s Yi:

The Abominable lead will be balancing jobs around the city in an effort to save up to travel the world. She’s a violin player and grieving the loss of her father. When she meets a scared Yeti in hiding on her roof, she finds companionship in him, calling him Everest. They venture across China with two neighborhood kids, Jin (played by Disney Channel star Tenzing Norgay Trainor) and Dr. Ken’s Albert Tsai. The cast also includes Glass’ Sarah Paulson, British comedian Eddie Izzard and Michelle Wong.

Former Pixar writer/animator Jill Culton wrote and co-directed the film and based Abominable. Here’s what she told us:

In the past, female-driven animated films have centered on fairy tales about royals finding true love. Culton couldn’t find herself in those stories, so when she was tasked by the studio to helm her own, she wanted to represent the tomboy girl, who was dealing with the same things she was.

Amazingly enough, Abominable is the first Dreamworks movie to be solely written by a woman and fronted by one. You can see Chloe Bennet’s kickass character in theaters on September 27.

Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. has been off the air since the Season 5 finale way back in May, and the wait for Season 6 isn’t ending any time soon. Fans have had months to ponder how the show could possibly move on without Coulson, who left the team to live out his final days in the real Tahiti, with May at his side.

Details are still scarce about how much of a role he will (or will not) play in Season 6, but Quake/Daisy Johnson actress Chloe Bennet (who will have a new look) weighed in on how her character will deal with Coulson's absence:

Coulson was the first family connection that Daisy really made on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., and their adoptive father/daughter dynamic has added a lot of heart to the series over the years. Aside from May, Daisy is undoubtedly the character who would take Coulson’s death the hardest.

While few fans are probably 100% convinced that Coulson really will die (or at least really will be dead for the whole season), Chloe Bennet’s comments point toward a Daisy who has grown in how she deals with tragedies. She’s still traumatized, but maybe not emotionally crippled.

Chloe Bennet shared her thoughts on Daisy dealing with Coulson’s absence to TVLine while the cast was filming the penultimate episode of Season 6, and nobody on set reportedly talked about Coulson in the present tense. Either Coulson is really and truly gone by the second-to-last episode of the season or the entire cast was in on a conspiracy to conceal secrets as much as possible. Given that the most legendary droppers of MCU spoilers aren’t part of the S.H.I.E.L.D. cast, perhaps they really are keeping the secret!

Coulson will be found back in the MCU in 2019, although it’s not clear at this point whether he’ll be on S.H.I.E.L.D. Clark Gregg went on a blast from the past to play a younger version of Coulson for the upcoming Captain Marvel film, which hits theaters on March 8. S.H.I.E.L.D. also has a fairly long future ahead of it, with or without Gregg as Coulson. Despite low ratings, S.H.I.E.L.D.scored a renewal for Season 7 long before Season 6 even premiered.

No release date for Season 6 has been announced yet; all we know is that we can expect it at some point this summer. 2019 is going to be a big deal for the MCU, and there will be Marvel movies to keep fans occupied during the rest of hiatus. Perhaps you’ve heard of a little movie called Avengers: Endgame? There are also plenty of small screen options, although Marvel offerings are few and far between.

Quake is getting a new look for Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Season 6. Chloe Bennet gave fans a peek of her rocking Quake's new costume. That is not the only change Daisy Johnson will have; she's a blonde now. See Quake's outfit and Bennet's new hairstyle for yourself below:

You may have a noticed a few new things about the fan favorite character. To start, Quake's rebooted costume has an additional punch of color to it, thanks to some purple embellishments near the neckline running down the front sides. The violet pops can also be seen below the waist. Chloe Bennet's new hairstyle replete with purple highlights works fantastically opposite Quake's new costume.

Her hair works as an extension of Quake's outfit, which is pretty neat. Instead of being a standalone look, her hair is contributing to it. Also, worth noting is the intense forearm armor. All of which looks super fierce.

Quake's fresh look comes as fans are anxiously awaiting Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.'s return. Fans are enduring a particularly arduous wait for the sixth season. It is not set to arrive until the summer of next year. In the meantime, fans have been able to enjoy Quake in Disney Channel's Marvel Rising: Secret Warriors. Chloe Bennet also voiced the character in the movie.

The animated character's costume shares a lot in common with the rebooted version of her live-action counterpart's. There were more purple accents in the animated version's, in comparison to Quake's outfit in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D's fifth season. Another difference is the character's hairstyles. In the cartoon, Quake's hair is dark and short with purple highlights framing her face. Chloe Bennet's hair is blonde with softer highlights.

There have been other exciting developments in addition to Quake's costume. ABC has announced that Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. has been renewed for a seventh season-- well before Season 6 could even premiere. How many episodes will Season 7 have? That was not confirmed. Although, it is expected to be the same as Season 6's, per Deadline. So, thirteen episodes.

There was a notable absence from the cast list in ABC's press release announcing the renewal. One of the original cast members is missing. None other than Agent Coulson's portrayer Clark Gregg.

Whether that means Agent Coulson is actually out of the picture remains to be seen. He is not only one of the series' original stars. Gregg's character is a significant conduit between the show and the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Agent Coulson was introduced in the MCU, ten years ago via his debut in 2008's Iron Man. Time will tell how the series' handles Coulson's storyline.

For now, fans can rest easy knowing that the show will return for not just one but two more seasons. Given Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.'s history with renewals, this is a breath of fresh air for fans. They can now feel free to imbibe in the next season knowing that it will definitively not be its last.

Season 6 of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. will premiere in the summer of 2019 on ABC. That premiere window puts the series' return after this fall and the upcoming midseason's batch of premieres.

Love is a curious thing. There's no exact science to it. From a distance, it can be hard to figure out why two people are smitten with each other. You can never know what attracts one person to another. Sometimes, the heart simply wants what it wants. And for Chloe Bennet, her heart wants Logan Paul. The Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. actress recently courted a relationship with the controversial YouTube personality, and it has been met with a great deal of confusion and distress for her followers. While her fans are deeply perplexed as to why the young actress would form a romantic relationship with the seemingly immature vlogger (and for some people, that's put it kindly), Bennet went on to her social media account to stress that she has her reasons why. As it turns out, the actress has a lot of affection for Paul's goofy personality, admitting that she considers him fun and charming. Not only that, but she claims Paul makes her a better person, and Bennet believes she also makes Logan Paul stronger.

Well, at least Chloe Bennet has given it some thought. Romantic feelings can be fleeting sometimes, but the television actress seems wholeheartedly committed to her current romance with Logan Paul. And while she will likely get even more criticism for her choice in a partner, at least she's sticking by it. Like I said earlier, sometimes the heart simply wants what it wants. It's hard to fault people's feelings.

For those unattuned to Logan Paul's drama earlier this year, Logan Paul got himself in a steaming pot of hot water in January when he recorded footage of suicide victim's corpse in Japan and posted it on YouTube. He later apologized for the video and took it off his page, but the ire didn't die down, and there were many viewers who wanted Paul kicked off of YouTube altogether, although Susan Wojcicki, YouTube's CEO, said during a conference that she believed Paul shouldn't be kicked off the video site because he didn't do anything to violate his three strikes. Nevertheless, people remained outraged.

Evidently, that incident alone wasn't enough to kill Chloe Bennet's affections. While Logan Paul isn't earning as much ridicule and criticism as he did earlier this year, it's safe to say that people aren't looking to warm up to him anytime soon. Nevertheless, Bennet is staying true to her lover, and she has listed her reasons why she feels benevolent to him. Whether her fans accept their relationship or not is not their concern, it seems, because Bennet made it clear that she is looking to stay true to her boyfriend, Logan Paul.

Meanwhile, Chloe Bennet will soon be making her way to San Diego for Comic-Con, where she will be at the panel for Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. next Thursday, as well as Entertainment Weekly's Women Who Kick Ass panel. Will we be seeing Logan Paul by her side at Comic-Con this year too? We'll have to wait and see.

The Kree have shown up a few times in the MCU, but they've really cemented themselves as an important part of the back story of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. The show is returning for its fifth season, which will find the characters journey into outer space. The race of blue aliens have popped up a few times on the show, and it looks like they might be due for another appearance. A recent set video from Chloe Bennet featured a brief look at what sure looks like a Kree walking in the background.

Chloe Bennet, who plays Daisy Johnson on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., posted an Instagram Story (collected in the above Tumblr post) of herself getting ready on set with some workouts. If you can pry your eyes away from her, at about the midway point you can clearly see a blue skinned man casually walking by in the background. There's a pretty good chance that this a member of the Kree, as there aren't many other blue skinned races in the MCU.

The Kree play a big part in the history of S.H.I.E.L.D. Not only was the blood of a Kree that allowed Coulson to come back to life after The Avengers, but they also created the Inhumans, which has been a massive part of the show in the later seasons. They've shown up a few times over the course of the show, mostly as nameless goons for the characters to battle, and have never really been featured too heavily. Perhaps that could be changing now that the S.H.I.E.L.D. agents are in space, and it would be easier to work the race into a storyline.

On the movie side of things, the Kree featured prominently in Guardians of the Galaxy, with the villain Ronan being a member of that race. They will also play a big role in the upcoming Captain Marvel. In the comics, the Kree are partly responsible for Carol Danvers getting her powers and the Kree-Skrull war has also been teased as being a major part of the film.

It's worth noting that with his burgundy trench coat, that blue skinned gentlemen looks an awful lot like Yondu -- minus the fin. While I doubt Michael Rooker will be appearing on the show, perhaps this mysterious blue alien is a member of Yondu's race or is a younger version of the character for flashback purposes. It's something to think about as the premiere of the show draws closer.

Season 3 of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. ended on a tag that showed a rogue Daisy on the run from her former partners. The finale concluded without explaining why exactly she was evading S.H.I.E.L.D., and fans have had to wait and wonder about what could be next for Daisy Johnson. Luckily, actress Chloe Bennet is more forthcoming than the show about Daisy's future, and she had this to say about why her character went AWOL:

Chloe Bennet shared her thoughts about why Daisy left the S.H.I.E.L.D. squad in a chat with TVLine, and it's an interesting explanation for what the hell was going on in the end of that episode. The Season 3 finale had been rather vague about what Daisy's motivations were as she operated solo. The tag was set six months after the previous scene, so we missed out on a whole lot of backstory for what led to Quake on the run. She had been last seen weeping as she listened to her boyfriend Lincoln say goodbye over the comms, and his death was clearly already hitting her hard.

Given the fact that Lincoln was killed by Hive and Hive never would have made it to Earth if not for Coulson's - and to a lesser extent, Fitz's - actions, Daisy might have left S.H.I.E.L.D. behind because she felt she could no longer trust them to do the right thing. Another possible reason for Daisy going rogue was that she was doing something that her friends at S.H.I.E.L.D. would not have sanctioned. Instead of doing as she's told, she could have decided that her personal cause was more worthy of following than orders from Coulson. Honestly, she could have just wanted some alone time to mourn Lincoln outside of the S.H.I.E.LD. bunker.

The explanation that Daisy would try to protect her pals by staying away makes sense, considering her history. An awful lot of death and betrayal seems to happen around her. Life as a rogue agent or a freelance fighter or even a hermit might seem like the best option for a young woman who has been through as much as Daisy over the span of only a few years.

Unfortunately for Daisy, her altruistic intentions to protect the agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. are going to be seriously misinterpreted by the world at large. The public will consider Daisy a terrorist in Season 4 due to her clear connections to destruction. Now that the events of Captain America: Civil War have enabled S.H.I.E.L.D. to become a legitimate agency again, Daisy really could have used the endorsement.

Personally, I'm a little bit bummed that Daisy's motivation to stay away from Coulson isn't linked to the fact that Coulson totally got Lincoln killed. Hive may have been the entity that put the plot that killed Lincoln into motion, but Hive never would have made it to Earth if Coulson had just left Maveth ASAP instead of lingering to murder Ward. Hopefully Coulson will be held at least somewhat accountable in Season 4, even if not by rogue Daisy.

There were some big changes on the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. season finale last month. The team went through a major shake-up, with Coulson no longer the director of S.H.I.E.L.D., but maybe the biggest surprise is that Dasiy is now on the run, being hunted by S.H.I.E.L.D., and she's apparently all goth now. Based on some newspaper clippings briefly glimpsed in the finale, Daisy has gone full Quake and is acting as a vigilante independent of the official group. Considering Daisy used to view S.H.I.E.L.D. as her only family, this is a pretty big change for the Agent Formerly Known as Skye. It seems these changes were inspired by the death of her Inhuman boyfriend Lincoln, who sacrificed himself to kill Hive (A.K.A. SquidWard). Just like every other superhero, the death of her loved one will be a major motivator for Daisy.

Chloe Bennet, who plays Daisy on the show, was asked how Daisy will be different on Season 4, and the actress elaborated that Daisy is in a lot of pain, and won't be feeling quite as sunny as her namesake for awhile. Here's what she told Entertainment Weekly:

To elaborate, Daisy had a vision of the future that someone on the team would die. She became convinced that it would be her, but she as she was ready to sacrifice herself, Lincoln stepped in for her. Having come to terms with her own death, only to have her boyfriend die instead, would throw anyone off their game. It seems the whole experience will give Daisy a rough edge. How ruthless she'll be and what that exactly means are still unknown, but it can't be good considering she can literally shake the Earth with her mind. Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. will be darker next season, which fits this new ruthless Daisy.

It makes sense in context that Daisy would be hurting due to Lincoln's death, but arguably one of the biggest faults of Season 3 was that it didn't sell the two of them as a couple, or Lincoln as a character. Maybe it was just me, but I never felt attached to Lincoln at all. Plus, their relationship didn't really have enough of a focus for us to care too much. That said, Lincoln's death was well handled, so we'll see how it personally affects Daisy in the fall.

Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. will return next season in its new later time slot at 10 P.M. on Tuesday's on ABC. In the meantime, check out everything premiering in the next few months with our summer TV schedule.

Season 2 of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. was a season of change for many characters, and not the least of those was Skye. The orphaned hacker turned S.H.I.E.L.D. Agent discovered who she truly was in Season 2, and that means major changes for her in Season 3. And the biggest change of all is her relationship with Agent Coulson. He’s no longer the surrogate father figure, now he’s just the boss. Also, don’t call her Skye.

Speaking with reporters at the Television Critics Association press tour, actress Chloe Bennet offered up some details about how Skye, who will go by her birth name Daisy Johnson in Season 3, and Coulson will interact in the upcoming season:

For the past two seasons, Phil Coulson (Clark Gregg) has focused on training Skye to be an agent, and while it’s clear that Coulson cares for her personally, he’s also a serious guy who knows what his job is. It’s about time for the bird to learn to fly. Some time will have passed when Season 3 starts, so fans are not going to be introduced to the changes so much as they’ll have them dropped on their head, so be ready for that.

Relationships aren’t the only thing changing in the new season, however. Skye will be fully embracing the name her parents gave her, Daisy, as well as her earth-shaking powers as the Inhuman Quake. This has resulted in an entirely new look for the character, including a less-than-perfectly-comfortable new outfit. Here's how she described it, according to IGN.

Fans of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. will have a lot to get used to when Season 3 premieres on ABC on Tuesday, September 29. We’ll miss Skye, but we’re looking forward to meeting Daisy. It sounds like she’s pretty cool.

Casting has continued today for one of the most high profile pilots of the season. This time it’s Nashville star Chloe Bennet who has been added to the cast of Joss Whedon’s Marvel’s S.H.I.E.L.D, a drama set in the Marvel Comics world Whedon has already brought to life on the big screen, most recently in The Avengers.

Bennet has been cast as Skye, an edgy, confident, fast-talking woman with an interest in superheroes and their secret organizations that borders on an obsession. THR says that Bennet is the last of the six regular characters to be cast for the pilot. She will join already cast Ming-Na (ER) as Agent Melinda May, Brett Dalton (Killing Lincoln) as Agent Grant Ward, relative newcomer Elizabeth Henstridge as Agent Gemma Simmons and Ian de Caestecker as Agent Leo Fitz. Clark Gregg will reprise his role from The Avengers as Agent Phil Coulson, rounding out the regular cast.

Bennet has been recurring this season on the freshman drama Nashville, also at ABC. She plays record company assistant Hailey on that series. It’s her first big role and it has clearly made an impact since she’s landed another big role as a regular, this time. Bennet previously had a short career as a Chinese pop star and worked on the Teen Nick project The Nightlife under the name Chloe Wang.

S.H.I.E.L.D. may be the pilot this season that has drawn the most interest. It focuses on a top-secret peacekeeping organization and the agents who are a part of it. Joss Whedon will write the pilot, along with his brother, Jed Whedon, and sister-in-law, Maurissa Tancharoen. The three are also executive producing with Jeffrey Bell and Jeph Loeb of Marvel TV. The pilot is expected to start filming early next year.
