As the 2026 Oscar winners were announced, the show paused for a moment to pay tribute to the people we lost in the last year. This segment included a major section devoted to Rob and Michele Reiner, who died in December 2025. During that moment, a bunch of actors who worked with the late director came out on stage to honor them. However, Corey Feldman was not one of them. Now, the Stand By Me actor has opened up about not being included in the in memorium.

For the tribute to Rob Reiner, Billy Crystal – who was in When Harry Met Sally, The Princess Bride and This Is Spinal Tap – gave a speech about the director, his work and his legacy. Then, after that, 17 actors who had all worked with Reiner came out on stage together to honor him and Michele. Corey Feldman was not there; however, his Stand By Me co-stars, Jerry O’Connell, Wil Wheaton and Kiefer Sutherland were. Speaking about all that, the Goonies actor told EW:

During this segment, Conan O’Brien, who was hosting the Oscars and was a close friend of Reiner, introduced the in memorium and Billy Crystal. The When Harry Met Sally star then came out and gave a speech that touched on key moments and films throughout the director’s career. He was the only person to speak on stage about Rob and Michele.

After Crystal’s speech, 17 actors came out together. This group was made up of performers who starred in This Is Spinal Tap, Stand By Me, The Princess Bride, When Harry Met Sally, A Few Good Men, Misery, The American President and The Sure Thing, and you can see the full list of them below:

Overall, the group starred in some of the best movies from the ‘80s, great films from the ‘90s, and a few of the best rom-coms ever made. So, it was lovely and overwhelming to see them all on the stage at the same time.

However, there were plenty of notable stars missing from this lineup. While we don’t know why some people weren’t there, Feldman did share his take on the whole situation. He made it clear that he was very happy it happened. But he also did feel like he wasn’t invited to “a family reunion,” as he explained:

Again, while the Stand By Me actor felt a bit left out, that’s not what he’s choosing to focus on.

Rob and Michele Reiner were tragically killed in December, and since then, tons of people who have worked with and admired them have paid tribute. Then, at the Oscars, the in memorium kicked off with this moment involving Crystal and lots of actors they had collaborated with, before it moved on to honor other greats we lost through a classic in memorium as well as two more breakout sections dedicated to the late Diane Keaton and Catherine O’Hara, which was done by Rachel McAdams, and the late Robert Redford, which Barbra Streisand came out for.

Sadly, this tribute didn’t include everyone. However, as Feldman said, it was still a lovely and moving way to pay homage to the great stars we lost in 2025.

People of a certain age are about to feel very old when I write that Stand By Me will turn 40 next year. The coming-of-age film was a major influence for a generation, which may be why the cast isn’t actually waiting for the 40th anniversary to celebrate the film. With that, one of the film's lead actors, Jerry O'Connell celebrated by channeling his character in a major way.

Multiple Stand By Me screenings have already started and are set to continue into 2026. Not only is Jerry O’Connell involved but so are his co-stars, Wil Wheaton, and Corey Feldman. As part of these events, the trio appear on stage to talk about the film after everybody screens it. O’Connell posted a picture to Instagram from a recent show, and he was has dressed up as his character, Vern Tessio. Check him out in all his glory:

Needless to say, fans of Stand Be Me -- some how were at the show, and many who were not -- lost their minds over seeing O’Connell dressed as Vern 40 years after the beloved film's release. The comment section on the image is full of excited comments, including…

Stand by Me is the story about the emotional journey of four boys, who journey just outside their small town to track down a dead body. The experience of filming the movie was also emotional for the actors. Unfortunately, Wil Wheaton has discussed the emotional abuse he suffered during production. However, he also made lifelong friends, as Wheaton and Jerry O'Connell are still close.

This 1986 film is generally regarded as one of the best Stephen King adaptations ever put to film. Director Rob Reiner also calls it his favorite film of those he's made. It, like The Shawshank Redemption (which appeared in the same book) isn’t the usual Stephen King story, as it lacks anything supernatural. It’s just a story of friendship among a quartet of friends.

Seeing Jerry O’Connell in that shirt and pants really does bring back a lot of memories. He also apparently brought the comb and the cherry Pez as well, which was a nice touch. Those are references that will mean little if you’re not familiar with Stand by Me, but will mean everything to those who know it well.

It’s great to see these three stars of Stand By Me together again after four decades. Of course, it's also bittersweet, as one member is missing. River Phoenix played the fourth member of the group, and the actor passed away in 1993. Nevertheless, O'Connell and Phoenix's other co-stars have firmly been keeping this film's legacy alive -- and his performance as a result -- which I love to see.

The live tour of Stand by Me has dates on the east and west coast scheduled for March 2026, and tickets are still available for most dates. Those who'd like to watch the film now can also stream it with a Netflix subscription.

It’s always entertaining to watch celebrities learn how to dance like a pro; however, there's always a lot of intrigue surrounding Dancing With The Stars off-camera, too. Last season saw supposed beef between host Julianne Hough and contestant Anna Delvey and a celebrity/pro duo partnering off the dance floor. Season 34, which is currently airing on the 2025 TV schedule, brought a slew of new gossip, and celebrity contestant Corey Feldman is not holding back about the drama he faced while on the show.

The Goonies actor recently made claims to the Daily Mail about the internal and external hate he received during his time on DWTS. Though Feldman was eliminated the first week, it seems he was on the show long enough to pick up on the culture off-camera, saying:

This might come as a surprise to newer fans of DWTS, given that everyone always looks excited to be there during rehearsal footage and in behind-the-scenes videos posted to social media. However, if you’ve been around for a while, you know that the relations among castmates and celebrities alike can get messy.

A lot of it comes from speculation amongst viewers. It’s no secret that DWTS includes intensive training and intimate dances, which inevitably lead to rumors. It’s part of the reason why Season 33’s winner, Joey Graziadei, asked for a partner who was already in a "successful and healthy relationship," to avoid the dating rumors that are so common with DWTS. Feldman confirmed that it was really tough to ignore the headlines once the media got hold of any rumors:

The Lost Boys actor in particular faced a lot of backlash in the media this season, seemingly coming from his partner, Jenna Johnson's brother-in-law and former DWTS pro Maksim "Maks" Chmerkovskiy. Right around the time rehearsals were supposed to start, Feldman suddenly missed nearly a week of practice, leaving producers and castmates wondering where he was. He was left with less than two weeks to get ready for the premiere.

Comments about the Gremlins actor’s poor mindset and work ethic towards his sister-in-law (Johnson) later came from Chmerkovskiy in an exclusive with Daily Mail, leaving Feldman apparently less than appreciative, and claiming his dance partner just brushed it off:

This isn’t the only instance of Chmerkovskiy stirring the pot from the sidelines this season. The former DWTS pro slammed newcomer pro Jan Ravnik for his lack of ballroom background, bluntly saying, “he has no business being a pro on DWTS.” While the Eras Tour dancer wasn’t as direct in his response as Feldman and Chmerkovskiy, he still responded to his critics.

As for Feldman, after the headlines impacted his reputation with DWTS audiences, Johnson and the Stand By Me actor set the record straight via social media following his elimination from the show. The two denied any bad blood, with Johnson admitting on Danielle With The Stars! that she knew Feldman had scheduling conflicts prior to missing practice.

Now, with only one episode left in the season, we'll have to wait and see if these comments get addressed by anyone else on the show. For the last 40 years, The Goonies has been one of the most enduring films in the Gen X canon. Like many people my age, I grew up watching the movie, which came out in the summer of ‘85, and you can currently watch it with a Netflix subscription. I never really thought about the setting, however.

I bought into the idea that The Goonies and Back to the Future took place on the same fall day in 1985 (a fun theory that has sadly been debunked), but it never occurred to me that the location of the “Goon Docks” was key to the whole story. Recently, though, Corey Feldman, who played Mouth in the classic, explained why the location, Astoria, Oregon, is critical to the story.

Astoria Is One Of The Few Places It Makes Sense To Set The Story

In a recent interview with The New York Times, Corey Feldman spoke to writer Will Dudding about the town and the story. Dudding was exploring the town of Astoria today, in the context of the movie that he also grew up watching. It occurred to him that the coastal town was the “perfect location” for a story about pirate ships and lost treasure. It goes beyond the dramatic scenery, however. Feldman agreed, telling the Times:

He’s completely correct, of course. You need an ocean and caves, and it needs to be a small-ish town to really make the story work (even if other stuff doesn’t make perfect sense).. Add in the beautiful scenery, and there really is no other place where the same story works.

I Never Thought About That As A Kid

I grew up in the Midwest, 700 miles from the closest ocean. The timeless nature of the movie appealed to everyone, but to me, it was just some kids in a rundown part of a small town saving their neighborhood. The great context of the location never made an impression on me, besides thinking the giant rock formations on the coast were cool as hell. Unconsciously, I suppose I figured the Goonies' adventures could have happened anywhere.

That’s not true. You need a coast so a pirate ship from the 17th century could access the also-necessary cave, and it needs to be in an out-of-the-way spot where a pirate might try to hide. The Pacific Northwest, especially the Oregon coast, provides all those things. It’s a unique spot for a unique story. Does that mean the whole story falls apart without the location? Well, yes and no.

The Adventure To Find Lost Pirate Booty Is Part Of The Charm

Without the pirate booty, The Goonies has a totally different feel. It plays into the magical realism of the movie. If it’s a bunch of kids, for example, tramping around the desert looking for stolen gold, it’s not nearly as charming a story. That works for an Indiana Jones adventure, but not kids trying to save their houses.

The moody, rainy vibe of the Oregon coast plays into the story perfectly, as well. Until the very end, there is little sun or brightness in the movie. That makes it into the final scene, when the last bag of gems is discovered by Rosalita, allowing the Goonies’ parents to pay off the developers trying to foreclose on the Goon Docks. The sun is finally out. That impact is subtle, but it’s important.

The Pacific Northwest Is A Little Like The End Of The World

I’m not going to pretend like we’re living in ancient times and don’t have an interconnected world in every way. Even in 1985, without the internet, nowhere really felt like “the end of the world.” However, the Pacific Northwest still, even in 2025, has a little bit of that “this is the edge” vibe. It’s a vibe that anyone from there, or who lives there, takes pride in. It’s exactly the kind of place a pirate like One-Eyed Willy would hide, right?

The dramatic rocks and coastal scenery, again, add to that vibe and allow even a kid like me, growing up hundreds of miles from anything like that, to subconsciously understand that this is the kind of place where an adventure like The Goonies could happen. We have a lot of caves around here, but no 17th century Spanish pirates were hiding their gold there, unless they somehow made their way through the North American river systems (which didn’t happen).

I See It Clearly Now

As the writer of the Times article wrote, Astoria is not only the perfect location for The Goonies, it’s the only way the quotable movie works on the level that it does. It’s simply not as charming, and probably not as enduring as it’s been, if it were set anywhere else. Dudding writes:

Like Fenn’s Treasure in the Rockies, I want to follow Dudding to Oregon and start searching for pirate booty. In the meantime, as the weather gets chilly where I live, it’s the right time to rewatch The Goonies again, armed with all this new information that I never thought about before. In fact, the movie’s story happens in late October. It’s just too perfect, just like Astoria.

Dancing with the Stars sent home the first two couples of Season 34 this week, meaning the competition for the Len Goodman Mirrorball Trophy is getting more intense. The DWTS contestants this season are all solid, but even so, Tuesday’s episode on the 2025 TV schedule, which was One-Hit Wonders Night, featured a double elimination. One of the couples sent home was reigning champ Jenna Johnson and actor Corey Feldman. Now, the Goonies star is addressing rumors that Johnson is hard to work with.

Since it was announced that Feldman and Johnson would be partners, there were rumors swirling in regard to their dynamic. It all began when Feldman wasn’t able to start rehearsing right away due to other obligations, and the rumor mill subsequently spewed tales about how difficult their partnership was. However, there doesn’t seem to be any ill will between them, as Johnson shared a very sweet post on Instagram following their elimination:

Of course, the only people who know what was really going on during those rehearsals were Johnson and Feldman, and it sounds like they were having a lot of fun in the studio. Even though it stinks that they couldn’t stay on longer, especially since Johnson made it all the way last season, it seems like they still had fun in their short time together, which is really all that matters.

Additionally, Feldman took to the comments of Johnson’s post to share his own sentiments about working with her. With that, he shut down any rumors about their partnership. He apologized for what the media is saying about them, and expressed how great she was to work with:

Dancing with the Stars-related rumors, no matter what the context is, are not uncommon, unfortunately. Sometimes that gossip can pertain to a relationship between two pros or a contestant and a pro. Details regarding a couple’s partnership have also been speculated upon by insiders over the years. Both Jenna Johnson and Corey Feldman seem to have taken the rumors surrounding them in stride, though. At the very least, even though they are no longer competing on the show, this might just be the start of a strong friendship.

Also eliminated this week were Britt Stewart and NBA champion Baron Davis, but the hunt for the Mirrorball Trophy continues. With next week marking TikTok Night, there will surely be some fun dances and another major elimination. New episodes of Dancing with the Stars air on Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET on ABC and are streamable with a Disney+ subscription. Right now, fans can watch the first two episodes of Season 34 on the aforementioned streamer.

The first episode of Dancing with the Stars Season 34 kicked off in the 2025 TV schedule on Tuesday, September 16 with a new crop of celebrities dancing to their personal anthems, and no elimination happened at the end to send any duo home after just one number together. Now, more than three full days since these stars strutted their stuff on ABC for the first time, the performances have been posted on YouTube and accumulated plenty of streaming views.

While we may never know how many people tuned in via Disney+ subscription, I'd say that the YouTube streaming numbers point toward a frontrunner, and the distance between #1 and #2 - #14 isn't even close. Robert Irwin, the younger brother of DWTS Season 21 champion Bindi Irwin, joined forces with pro Witney Carson for a jive to Steppenwolf's "Born to Be Wild."

They were easily one of my favorite duos despite not having watched a full Dancing with the Stars episode in years, and at the time of writing on Friday evening, accumulated 1.2 million views on the show's YouTube page (and counting). Check out where all of the dancers stand with YouTube view count, and note the massive discrepancy between Irwin and the next 13:

While a lot can happen between Week 1 and Alfonso Ribeiro and Julianne Hough eventually announcing the Season 34 winner of the Len Goodman Mirrorball Trophy, I think it's safe to say that Robert Irwin is at least going to be the big winner among YouTube viewers by the time "One-Hit Wonders Night" arrives next on September 23. Witney Carson hasn't led a celebrity to victory since Ribeiro himself back in Season 19; could the partnership with the wildlife conservationist take her back to the top? Take a look at their jive from the premiere:

If you're wondering why I ranked Dylan Efron above Jordan Chiles despite the two having the same view count at the time of writing, I had to go to the "likes" to break the tie. Efron had accumulated 1.9k likes on YouTube to hopefully keep him around long enough for a High School Musical dance, while the former Olympian only has 1.7k likes.

Looking at those view counts from YouTube, I'm a little bummed to see that Andy Richter didn't get more attention in the first few days after the Season 34 premiere aired. While I don't honestly think he'll be dancing his way to the Mirrorball Trophy by the end of the season, his enthusiasm made his cha-cha-cha to Sam & Dave's "Hold On, I'm Comin'" with pro partner Emma Slater one of the most fun dances of the night to watch.

I'm curious to see how view totals might change as the weeks pass. The advancement on DWTS depends on the point totals from the judges as well as votes from fans, not the amount of attention couples get on YouTube. My eye is definitely on Elaine Hendrix, Hilaria Baldwin, and Whitney Leavitt in particular. All three came to Dancing with the Stars with dance backgrounds already, which tends to make me want to root more for their competition.

Week 2 of Dancing with the Stars Season 34 will involve eliminations, so be sure to tune in to "One-Hit Wonder Night" to see these celebrities take their next chance to impress the judges and the viewers. New episodes air on Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET on ABC and are available streaming live on Disney+.

One of the lesser-referenced universal certainties outside of life, death and taxes is the guarantee of at least one new Stephen King adaptation being lined up for an upcoming movie schedule or TV time slot. And, more often than not, one or more of those live-action projects is a remake of a previous effort. But, one of the best King-adapted movies deserves a special law prohibiting any such ill-conceived reboot attempts: Stand by Me.

Unfortunately, Rob Reiner’s beloved 1986 coming-of-age tale will soon no longer be available to stream with a Netflix subscription, as Stand by Me is among the dozens of movies and TV shows set to vacate the platform in February.

When Is Stand By Me Leaving Netflix?

Barring any unforeseen changes happening behind the scenes, Stand by Me will be available to stream until the final day of the month, February 28, at which point viewers will have to either fall back on re-reading the adapted novella, "The Body," or will have to go out and get sucked on by filthy pond leeches while attempting to find a dead body of their own.

Or, if that sounds too extreme, the movie will still be available to rent or purchase on Amazon and Apple TV. It may, also, indeed land on another subscription service's lineup in the near future. Check out some of the other films leaving Netflix that same day, in case it wasn't already clear why Stand by Me is the one most deserving of a rewatch:

• Without a Paddle

Okay, so I guess there are other movies also leaving that day that are also worth rewatching, like Inception, Sixteen Candle and James Gunn's Scooby-Doo movies. I also hope none of those are ever remade.

Let's Agree That Stand By Me Should Never Get A Modern Hollywood Remake

As it stands, pun not intended, Reiner's adaptation (from a screenplay credited to Bruce A. Evans and Raynold Gideon) so perfectly capsulizes both the era in which it was produced (the tech-lite 1980s) and the time it's depicting (1959). We're now more than 50 years beyond the setting, and at a point when mid-budget coming-of-age dramas are rarer than pie-eating contests being thwarted by vomiting.

So, for any studio to choose to remake Stand by Me, it would be with the knowledge that the new version would need something extra brought to it, not only to stand apart from the spotless original, but simply to convince audiences to spend money on a non-blockbuster. Plus, this isn't a narrative that needs any additional bells and whistles beyond the ones on the train that almost kills the four boys at the heart of it all.

Speaking of, Stand by Me's core cast is equally irreplaceable as a full unit. While Stranger Things and even the pair of IT features showcase young casts that gel naturally, it's more of a rarity than a norm. But Wil Wheaton, Jerry O'Connell, Corey Feldman and River Phoenix could have been real-life best friends from birth, such was their ample on-screen chemistry, and few actors are as intimidating in their quietness as Kiefer Sutherland is as the bullying antagonist, "Ace" Merrill.

Rob Reiner has called Stand by Me his favorite of the films he's directed, and he not only brought just the right amount of childish glee and pre-pubescent dread to the story, but also made the most of the novella as a blueprint. The film's best scenes were taken from the words King wrote, even with some tweaks involved, so it's not like there would be a ton for another writer and director to pull from that would make it wildly different from the O.G. version.

Long story short — which probably isn't ever a rule of thumb for Stephen King — go watch Stand by Me on Netflix while you still can!

Many of the biggest names in the entertainment industry have ties to music producer P. Diddy, as his infamous parties were considered by many to be the place to be in decades past. Now that Sean “Diddy” Combs has been arrested and remains in prison awaiting his 2025 trial, his celebrity friends are reacting in different ways, with some choosing to distance themselves from the rapper and others like Nick Cannon choosing to live their truth. Actor Corey Feldman never attended a Diddy party, but he had no trouble sharing his honest thoughts, calling Diddy’s alleged crimes “disgusting.”

The Lost Boys actor was approached by TMZ and asked about P. Diddy — who has gone by several different names over the years and currently faces charges of sex trafficking, kidnapping and racketeering. Corey Feldman didn’t hold back on his assessment of the allegations against Diddy, saying:

Corey Feldman has been open about his own history of abuse, alleging that he was molested for years as a child actor, and he’s spent much of his adult life advocating for other victims. The actor made it clear that he’d never crossed paths with Sean Combs, referencing that minors were among Diddy’s accusers when he said:

New lawsuits continue to come down the pipe since Diddy’s September arrest, including one from a woman who said she was gang raped after accusing the rapper of being involved in Tupac Shakur’s murder and multiple men who said they were drugged and raped at parties thrown by P. Diddy.

The sex parties, aka Freak Offs, hosted by the music mogul have garnered a lot of attention in the press after federal investigators revealed they’d recovered more than 1,000 bottles of lubricant in the raids of Diddy’s homes in Miami and Los Angeles. His legal team has attempted to explain the large amount of baby oil and has maintained throughout the investigation that Diddy is innocent.

The lawyers called the most recent lawsuits “clear attempts to garner publicity,” remaining adamant that “Mr. Combs has never sexually assaulted anyone—adult or minor, man or woman.” Still, several requests for Diddy to be released on bond have been denied.

While Corey Feldman was quick to voice his opinion about the situation, Kevin Hart sidestepped reporters’ questions when asked about his own appearances at the parties. Beyoncé and Jay-Z, meanwhile, threatened legal action against Piers Morgan after comparisons were made between the couple and their longtime friend Sean Combs.

Diddy remains in custody at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, New York. His trial is set to begin in May 2025.

The Masked Singer, by most celebrity accounts, is a great show to be on even though it doesn't pay well and the costumes can be uncomfortable and lead to falling over. While so many have the same experience, so often I'll speak to a celebrity who had a truly unique time on the show. That is exactly what happened with the recently eliminated actor behind Seal, Corey Feldman, as he told CinemaBlend why being on the show was such an "eye-opening" experience.  

I had a great time speaking to Feldman, who was unable to survive the Group B Finals on Season 11 of The Masked Singer. I asked the actor what it was like performing anonymously, especially as someone who has been a public figure since childhood when he was a part of The Goonies cast. Feldman said he really enjoyed playing the Seal, and he explained how appearing on the show led to something he didn't expect:

Corey Feldman has pursued a music career for years, but it's fair to say he's faced a lot of public scrutiny in doing so. His 2016 performance on Today went viral for all the wrong reasons, and an encore performance that October didn't really sway a ton into thinking he was as equally talented at singing as he was acting. 

That hasn't stopped the actor from continuing his music, however, and apparently, it seems there could've been some bias in the critiques of his voice. Corey Feldman confirmed to CinemaBlend that he was happy to see a positive reaction to his performances as Seal on The Masked Singer, even though he didn't end up winning: 

Corey Feldman has nothing to be ashamed of, as he went home the same night as former American Idol alums Clay Aiken and Ruben Studdard. Gumball, who is still unmasked, went on to be the Group B finalist and my personal frontrunner I felt Season 11 has lacked thus far. I can't say that an untalented singer could last up against that type of talent, and Feldman certainly held his own. Overall, I'm happy this was such an "eye-opening" and "nice" experience for him. 

As far as what's next for the actor musically, he's set to kick off a Loserville tour with artists such as Limp Bizkit,  Bones, N8NOFACE and Riff Raff. That's sure to be quite an experience for anyone who snags a ticket to attend.

Entertainers are entertainers. There are singers who can act, and there are actors who can sing. While the world is full of the former crossing over successfully, the latter is less successful, but that doesn't mean they aren't great singers, so here's our list of actors that have tried singing, whether they were hits or not. 

Bruce Willis

In 1987 Bruce Willis was at the top of his game. A year before everyone's favorite Christmas movie, Die Hard, came out, Willis did a made-for-HBO movie called The Return of Bruno where he played a blues singer. Willis spun that into an album of the same name and his singing career was off. While it's actually a decent album, the two follow-ups were bombs and that was where things pretty much ended for his singing career. 

Jennifer Love Hewitt

Jennifer Love Hewitt has been singing as long as she's been performing on screen. As a ten-year-old, Hewitt sang backup on the hit song "Toy Soldiers" by Martika, and at 12 she recorded her first album. She has a great voice, but she's never seen real crossover success. 

Don Johnson

Miami Vice was a monster hit in the mid-'80s and Don Johnson spun that into a record deal. He recorded his first album, Heartbeat, in 1986 and it was actually a moderate success, especially in Germany. His follow-up, Let It Roll also sold well in Europe, but didn't chart in the US, so his brief-though-somewhat-successful career as a singer was over. 

Jada Pinkett Smith

Did you know that Jada Pinkett Smith sang in a Nu Metal band in the early aughts? Yep, a band she formed called Wicked Wisdom even toured with Ozzfest and opened for Britney Spears. Pinkett is a solid singer and the band is very good, but it was short-lived, releasing just two albums, the last in 2006. 

Russell Crowe

Russell Crowe has been playing guitar and singing rock and roll for decades. He continues to occasionally play concerts, usually for charity and every once in a while he'll show up on stage with a big star. Like when he joined fellow Aussie Keith Urban in 2012 to play some Johnny Cash. 

Jamie Foxx

Jamie Foxx is the rare example of an actor having a very successful music career as well. He's got platinum albums, he's won a Grammy, and he'll forever be known for his guest spot in Kanye West's "Gold Digger." 

Burt Reynolds

Burt Reynolds sang in the musical At Long Last Love, and he once did a duet in a movie with the legend herself, Dolly Parton. Before all that though, he attempted to find a hit in the music business when he released a country album called Ask Me What I Am in 1973. I'm the biggest Burt Reynolds fan you'll ever meet and even I can admit it's a pretty rough album. 

Zooey Deschanel

When M. Ward first heard Zooey Deschanel sing in Elf, he was amazed. Later he learned she also wrote and played music. That was enough to start the duo She & Him, and Ward and Deschanel have been working on the project off and one for 15 years now. Together they've released seven successful albums, the latest a tribute to Beach Boys founder Brian Wilson that is very, very good. Deschanel even met her boyfriend Jonathon Scott while singing on Car Pool Karaoke. 

Jeremy Renner

As if Jeremy Renner's inspiring recovery from a snow plow accident isn't enough, the multitalented star has also released his first couple of EPs over the last few years. The Avengers star is a multi-instrumentalist and can sing too. There's almost nothing he can't do, it seems. 

William Shatner

It's always been a little hard to tell if William Shatner's music career is serious, or a joke. At times it seems like it could be either. One thing I can say about it is that if you've never heard Shatner's version of Pulp's "Common People", seek it out, it is truly excellent. 

Eddie Murphy

Very early in this career, Eddie Murphy started singing comedy songs on his albums. That inspired him to take a shot a serious music and his first single "Party All The Time" was a hit. It reached #2 on the Billboard Hot 100. Sadly, that would be the high point for the actor's music career.  

Corey Feldman

You have to appreciate how hard Corey Feldman is trying to make a music career take off. He tours a lot, playing live, and giving it his all in every performance. For it, he takes an endless amount of grief, but that just makes us root a little harder for him. The music isn't for me, but I applaud the effort. 

Emma Roberts

Emma Roberts is Hollywood royalty who got her first really big break (though not her first gig, that was in Blow) on the Nickelodeon show Unfabulous. For the show, where she played a middle school singer/songwriter, she recorded quite a bit of music and even released an album. In the end, it was her acting that took off and music took a backseat. At least so far. 

Jared Leto

Obviously, Jared Leto has to be on this list. His band, Thirty Seconds to Mars, which he formed with his brother in 1998, is wildly successful. They've sold more than 15 million albums and played sold-out shows around the world. He's by far the most successful musician on this list. 

Alyssa Milano

Alyssa Milano's music career never made much of a wave in the U.S., but in Japan, she was actually really popular. She released four albums on a Japanese record label and one even went platinum. It's a small tidbit of her career that doesn't get talked about much. 

Tom Hardy

Before Tom Hardy landed the first role of his career in Black Hawk Down in 2001, the British actor took a swing at a rap career. He recorded a mixtape called Tommy No 1 and Eddie Too Tall in 1999, though it didn't see the light of day until well after Hardy became famous, in 2018. It's actually pretty good too. 

Lindsay Lohan

Lindsay Lohan has had a lot of ups and downs in her career, and one thing that could fall under both was her brief foray into music. Lohan was at the height of her Disney career, on the verge of the release of her most beloved movie, Mean Girls, when she was signed to Tommy Mottola's Casablanca Records. The two albums she recorded sold okay, but after the second, her career as a singer was over. 

Scarlett Johansson

Scarlett Johansson's first album, Anywhere I Lay My Head, released in 1998, features members of TV on the Radio, and even David Bowie sings on two tracks. Most of the songs were written or co-written by the great Tom Waits. Unfortunately, it just didn't sell all that well. Her follow-up, Break Up, recorded with Pete Yorn sold a little better, but not enough to sustain more of a career in music. She also released a song in 2015 called "Candy" with a short-lived band, The Singles, with Este Haim.

Hayden Panettiere

On Nashville, Hayden Panettiere played a country singer/songwriter living in Nashville, so naturally, she sang a lot on the show. She even recorded and released a few songs from the show. Panettiere was also nominated for a Grammy early in her career for her singing parts in A Bug's Life. In 2008, she branched out with a more pop-oriented sound and while she undoubtedly has some serious singing chops, the song "Wake Up Call" is more famous today for the video starring herself and Sebastian Stan. 

Joe Pesci

When you think of performers with silky smooth voices, Joe Pesci probably isn't the first name that comes to mind. Still, the Goodfellas star has been singing publicly since the 1960s when he released an album called Little Joe Sure Can Sing! After the huge success of My Cousin Vinny, Pesci released another album sort of in character, called Vincent LaGuardia Gambini Sings Just for You which is part comedy, part serious. It's not all that great, but he's not a bad singer. 

Kevin Bacon

The Bacon Brothers, Micheal and Kevin Bacon have been recording and touring for almost 30 years now. It's always been a passion for the Footloose star and it's clear he takes the band as seriously as he takes his acting. 

Robert Downey, Jr.

The whole world for Robert Downey, Jr. changed in 2008 when the first Iron Man was released. Downey had been a star for years, but the role took him to world superstardom. Right before that, he recorded his first album, 2006's The Futurist. The album had disappointing sales, and Downey dedicated his working life to the MCU and never seemed to find time for a follow-up.  

Steven Seagal

Like most things Steven Seagal does these days, his music career is pretty odd. He's a guitar player and blues singer who has released two albums and still plays live occasionally. While the music is not terrible by any means, it's also not all that interesting. 

Brie Larson

Brie Larson started in the music business when she was just 16. She was signed by Casablanca Records and recorded an album called Finally Out of P.E. However, the Marvels star eventually moved her focus to her acting career. She still occasionally plays guitar and sings little ditties on her YouTube page. 

Gwyneth Paltrow

Gwyneth Paltrow's singing has mostly been attached to her acting career, with her most famous song, "Country Strong" coming from the soundtrack of the movie of the same name. Paltrow does all the singing herself, and it's actually pretty great. She also flirted with more music-related stuff earlier in her career, including recording a duet with Huey Lewis. She should consider doing more! 

Milla Jovovich

The 1990s were full of ethereal singers like Hope Sandoval of Mazzy Star and Milla Jovovich's brief foray into music fit very well in that style. Her breathy style was very much of the time. One song that I can certainly recommend is her version of Lou Reed's "Satellite of Love" from the soundtrack to Million Dollar Hotel.

Florence Pugh

Florence Pugh started her career as singer called Flossie Rose on a YouTube channel in the early 2010s. Once her acting career took off, her music took a backseat, but many of the videos are still available. There is some interesting stuff there, even if it's pretty simple, as she was just a teenager at the time. 

Juliette Lewis

Juliette Lewis has had a huge career revival with her powerhouse performance in Yellowjackets, but all in her professional life, she's also been a singer. Her band, Julliette and the Licks, has been recording and playing live for almost 30 years now and as you'd expect, it's raw and in your face. 

Lucy Hale

Lucy Hale acts, hosts big TV specials, and sings. In fact, her debut album (and to date only album), Road Between, reached as high as #4 on the Billboard Country charts in 2014. It's certainly good enough for a follow-up, so maybe someday we'll get one. 

Joey Lawrence

No one else quite defines the 1990s the way Joey Lawrence does. The star of Blossom was a teen heartthrob and adorned the walls of high school girls across the country. It only makes sense he would try out a music career to capitalize on his fame. Sadly, his ambition wasn't matched by album sales. 

Scott Baio

Scott Baio starred in two huge shows in the '70s and '80s. First as Chachi on Happy Days then as the title character on Charles in Charge. Somewhere he found time to record two albums for RCA Records, but neither sold well and his music career fizzled out. 

David Duchovny

The truth is out there, and so is David Duchovny's budding musical career. He's only been at it for a few years, but he's released three albums and while the critics haven't loved his music, they haven't hated it either. He's clearly passionate about it, and it's refreshing that his albums are mostly original tunes. 

Breaking into music is hard, and while celebrities have a few built-in advantages, they don't guarantee success. For every Jared Leto, there is a Robert Downey, Jr. Still, it's always fun to hear what some of these stars have to offer, usually it's better than you expect, even when it's not great. 

The ‘80s were full of iconic movies that continue to remain relevant franchises today, such as Ghostbusters, Top Gun, Indiana Jones and The Karate Kid, but there have been a few that have surprisingly remained untouched by Hollywood’s love of sequels. Richard Donner’s 1985 movie, The Goonies, is a big example of this, but not for lack of trying. Goonies 2 has been a topic that's floated around for four decades now and there’s still no sequel where the adventurers could echo their iconic phrase, “Never say die!” With that on the brain, let’s break down what Steven Spielberg and the cast of The Goonies said about the sequel that has yet to happen.  

While the group of misfits at the center of The Goonies were just kids when the movie was produced, just about all of them are working actors today, and its writers, Steven Spielberg and Chris Columbus, continue to be huge players in Hollywood. These are their thoughts about a Goonies sequel over the years. 

Ke Huy Quan (Data)

Let’s start with the latest comment on the subject. Ke Huy Quan, who played Data at 13 years old, recently made a massive comeback to Hollywood with Everything Everywhere All At Once. As the actor recently shared, he quit being an actor once he grew up and found a lack of opportunities, but Crazy Rich Asians inspired him to give it another shot. Now he’s a Golden Globe winner and among 2023’s Oscar nominees. When the actor was asked about the status of Goonies 2 following his Golden Globe win, Quan said this: 

Goonies director Richard Donner died at the age of 91 back in 2021 and as the actor shared, he was the “captain” of their ship. That being said, the man behind Data sounds open to a sequel, if the right idea comes up. 

Sean Astin (Mikey) 

In the years following leading The Goonies, as Mikey, Sean Astin went on to find an even more iconic role in the Lord of the Rings trilogy as the Samwise to Elijah Wood’s Frodo. Even so, the actor is asked all the time about making another Goonies movie. When he appeared at Rose City Comic Con in September 2022, he said this about the proposition: 

Astin took a more optimistic approach to the whole thing, sharing his “hope” for Warner Bros. to make moves on another Goonies movie. He had a sense that it could still happen, but he’s had various opinions on the subject prior. Back in 2019, he told Collider that he thought him and his co-stars had “probably passed the threshold” for doing a sequel, but was okay with the idea of a reboot. And back in 2015, Astin said that he knew in his “guts” it would get made one day. 

Chris Columbus (Writer) 

Chris Columbus, who has also been behind classic movies like Gremlins, Home Alone and the first two Harry Potter movies, wrote the screenplay for The Goonies. Columbus spoke to behind-the-scenes development on a sequel that never came to be to Empire in 2021. In his words: 

The writer/director shared this a few months following Donner's death. With that in mind, it appears the original director had been doing the sequel in his mind just before he died, but the filmmakers never got together to think up ideas.  

Corey Feldman (Mouth)

You can also count Corey Feldman among The Goonies actors who are constantly asked about the sequel. Back in 2015, the actor had a seemingly major update on the whole thing, revealing that he and Sean Astin had co-written a pitch and taken it to Donner, but it needed “far too big a budget” for what they wanted to do. He called it an “Indiana Jones-type” movie that was “maybe too much.” When speaking again in 2021 about it to MovieWeb, Feldman had this to say: 

Adam F. Goldberg, who is behind comedy TV shows like The Goldbergs and The Mighty Ducks: Game Changers did, apparently, pitch to Richard Donner, per Slash Film, and has reportedly been trying to get a sequel made since 2005. Perhaps, he’ll still be successful someday, but for now, we haven’t heard anything new in years.

Jeff Cohen (Chunk)

Of The Goonies main cast, Jeff Cohen is one who did not go on to pursue acting. He instead has found success as an entertainment lawyer, and even represents Ke Huy Quan, as the actor revealed to The Hollywood Reporter in 2022. When looking back at his role as Chunk with Yahoo in 2015, here were Cohen’s thoughts on a sequel: 

Hey, that’s understandable. Not every child actor decides to actually get into Hollywood. And, technically, Cohen is in Hollywood, just not as an actor. So if a Goonies sequel did happen, it’s doubtful his Chunk would be part of it. 

Josh Brolin (Brand) 

Of The Goonies cast, Josh Brolin is likely the most notable and famous of them all. While Brolin has embraced his early role in the ‘80s movie in the past, he wasn’t optimistic about a sequel happening. Here’s what he told The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon in 2014 regarding an update on Goonies 2: 

It must be frustrating for the actors involved to hear about these updates, but never have a movie come to be. 

Martha Plimpton (Stef)

Martha Plimpton, who played Stef in the movie, also wasn’t confident in the idea when she answered a question about it during a 2016 Reddit AMA prior to Donner’s death. In her words: 

It seems like Brolin and Plimpton shared this feeling that Goonies 2 was more of a tease over the years than a reality. That’s not to say they wouldn't be interested if the right script came along, however. 

Steven Spielberg (Writer/Producer)

Perhaps it’d be Steven Spielberg, who wrote the original story and produced it, who could finally get Goonies 2 off the ground? The latest from the legendary filmmaker came during a Goonies reunion that Josh Gad hosted in his 2020 Reunited Apart series. Here are Speilberg’s thoughts: 

There you have it. That really seems to be the spirit of what’s been going on (...err not going on). There just hasn’t been a good enough idea that has propelled anyone involved to greenlight a sequel. Perhaps one day it will happen! Hey, it took 36 years for a Top Gun sequel to come out. Goonies could be next someday. 

The cast of Joel Schumacher’s vampire smash The Lost Boys was stacked to the gills, pairing the two Coreys in yet another movie and pitting them against Keifer Sutherland, Alex Winter, Jami Gertz and, well… one character I’ll protect in case you haven’t yet seen it. It’s easily one of the best horror movies of my childhood, and one that stands the test of time thanks to positive word of mouth and generations of fans sharing the movie with friends and family. Warner Bros. recently released a 4K restoration of The Lost Boys in celebration of the movie, and it gave us the chance to speak with Corey Feldman about the moments that traumatized him while filming the movie, and how different the movie might have been if original director Richard Donner had stayed in the filmmaker’s chair (one of 10 Lost Boys facts you might not have known). And in the process, Feldman gave us an update on the movie’s most popular character. 

There’s a moment, early in The Lost Boys, when new-to-California residents Michael (Jason Patric) and Sam (Corey Haim) attend a concert on the pier. There’s a band playing on stage, and their shirtless lead singer rips into a saxophone in between lyrics. It’s likely the coolest the saxophone has ever looked on screen. So when we sat down with The Lost Boys co-stars Corey Feldman and Jamison Newlander, we had to ask if they ever got a chance to meet the man himself, and Feldman told CinemaBlend:

Maybe you don’t remember the “sweaty sax guy” from The Lost Boys. Which I find very hard to believe. But here’s his main scene from the classic movie. Play this on a loop.

Hollywood has tried, over the years, to keep The Lost Boys franchise alive. Corey Feldman and Jamison Newlander played their popular characters The Frog Brothers in a couple of sequels. There were plans for a Lost Boys remake, and rumors of a Lost Boys TV show that never came to pass. Part of me wouldn’t mind seeing someone else take a shot at reviving the story, even bringing back some of the classic characters to rekindle interest in the series. It might even give Alex Winter a chance to share more stories about Tim Cappello. That’s the kind of impact that man had on a generation, just by swiveling his hips and blowing into his saxophone.

Since that isn’t happening any time soon, scan this list of all the upcoming horror movies heading to theaters, and hope that they satiate your need for cinematic scares. 

You want to see something ridiculous? Go look at the run of films that Corey Feldman strung together before turning 16 years of age. Starting in 1984, Feldman’s character was responsible for slowing down Jason in Friday the 13th – The Final Chapter. He followed that with appearances in Joe Dante’s Gremlins, Richard Donner’s The Goonies, Rob Reiner’s adaptation of Stephen King’s The Body (titled Stand By Me), and Joel Schumacher’s stylish vampire thriller The Lost Boys. That final one – one of the best horror movies of the 1980s – is turning 35 this year, so Warner Bros. Home Video is giving it the 4K polish for a beautiful re-release with an incredible cover. And to promote the film, Feldman and his fellow Frog Brother Jamison Newlander sat down with CinemaBlend to reminisce about filming, and the movie’s legacy.

Rewatching The Lost Boys for the first time in years, I realized just how involved The Frog Brothers, played by Corey Feldman and Jamison Newlander, were in the decimation of the main vampires in the movie. Yes, it’s Nanuk the dog who knocks Dwayne (Billy Wirth) into the bathtub filled with Holy Water. And the “Death by Stereo” moment is iconic. But when Edgar Frog stakes Marko (Bill & Ted star Alex Winter), the brothers are coated in sticky fluids, which Feldman says traumatized him to no end on the movie’s set. Said Feldman:

That’s a behind-the-scenes fact you might not think of when you are watching The Lost Boys. Corey Feldman is referring to the moment where Sam (Corey Haim) has followed the Frog Brothers into the vampire’s lair. The creatures are all hanging upside down, sleeping. As you can see in the lip, the boys get doused with vampire innards, and that leads to a complicated clean up. As Corey Feldman went on to explain to CinemaBlend:

The glamorous side of Hollywood moviemaking. And yet, this effort helped The Lost Boys to become a classic for a generation, one that hasn’t been rivaled despite rumors of making it into a TV series or, worse, trying to stage a big-screen remake with new people. Maybe one of those would have included the alternate ending Joel Schumacher had planned for his original movie. I wonder if it also included glitter?

The 1980s gave birth to some of the most iconic movies of all time and turned dozens of actors into international superstars and box office heavyweights. Names like Michael J. Fox, Holly Hunter, Lou Diamond Phillips, and Whoopi Goldberg are just a handful of great ‘80s actors who made an impact on movies, and pop culture in general, in one way or another. 

But with time, some of use have forgotten what the heroes and villains of those beloved ‘80s movies and TV shows have been up to in the decades since they made their mark on the world. Well, not any longer, as we have put together a rather comprehensive list of those familiar faces and what they’ve been up to all these years. 

Whoopi Goldberg

Throughout the 1980s, Whoopi Goldberg proved time and time again that she was a force to be reckoned with in Hollywood, receiving multiple accolades and awards for movies like The Color Purple and Jumping Jack Flash. Even though she is not in as many high-profile movies as she was in the ‘80s and ‘90s, Goldberg has remained a major player in show business as one of the hosts of the long-running daytime talk show The View, with a major role in the 2021 adaptation of The Stand, and in the Amazon original series Harlem. 

Elisabeth Shue

The Karate Kid, Adventures in Babysitting, and Back to the Future Part II, are just a few iconic ‘80s movies Elisabeth Shue appeared in throughout the early stages of her career. The Academy Award and Golden Globe nominee (1995’s Leaving Las Vegas) is still doing what she does best all these years later, with a collection of movies and TV shows including Greyhound, The Boys, and most recently, Cobra Kai, in which she reprised her beloved character, Ali Mills. 

Judd Nelson

Judd Nelson, the Brat Pack member who made a name for himself with his portrayal of bad boy with a heart of gold John Bender in The Breakfast Club, has remained just as busy in the decades since he became an undeniable heartthrob. More recently, Nelson has provided voice work for animated series like Transformers: Power of the Primes and Ben 10: Omniverse, and appeared in movies like Dead Water and Girl in the Basement. He is set to appear in the upcoming remake of The Most Dangerous Game, per Deadline.

Michael J. Fox

There are few actors who can match the talent, charm, and likability of Michael J. Fox, and with movies like Back to the Future, Teen Wolf, and The Secret of My Success, it’s hard to deny that. Despite being diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease in 1998, Fox remained busy in film and television throughout the first two decades of the 21st Century with appearances on Curb Your Enthusiasm, Scrubs, and his own sitcom The Michael J. Fox Show. However, Fox stepped away from acting in November 2020 due to ongoing health issues, per The Hollywood Reporter.

Molly Ringwald

Between 1984 and 1986, Molly Ringwald appeared in Sixteen Candles, The Breakfast Club, and Pretty in Pink, all of which are arguably some of the best ‘80s movies. Ringwald’s success continued through the ’90s, into the 2000s, and even today with roles in romantic comedies like The Kissing Booth franchise, Creepshow, and Riverdale, on which she portrays Mary Andrews. 

Chevy Chase

In the 1980s, Chevy Chase went from Saturday Night Live stand-out to one of the biggest box office draws with Caddy Shack, Fletch, and the National Lampoon’s Vacation franchise, to name only a few. All these years later, Chase remains a major star in the world of comedy with shows like Community and a list of movies that includes The Last Laugh, The Very Excellent Mr. Dundee, and Panda vs. Aliens.

Anthony Michael Hall

Michael Anthony Hall appeared in some of the biggest movies of the 1980s, including National Lampoon’s Vacation, Sixteen Candles, The Breakfast Club, and Weird Science, those final two coming out just months apart. Hall is just as busy these days with appearances in movies like the 2021 horror flick Halloween Kills and a list of TV shows that includes Riverdale, The Blacklist, and The Goldbergs.

Holly Hunter

Throughout the 1980s, Holly Hunter found success with a variety of roles, including standout performances in Raising Arizona, Broadcast News, and End of the Line, all of which came out in 1987. Over the years, Hunter has continued to bring characters to life in movies like The Big Sick, The Incredibles franchise, and multiple TV shows like The Comey Rule, Mr. Mayor, and Succession, to name only a few. 

Emilio Estevez

Emilio Estevez had only appeared in two of his father’s movies — Badlands and Apocalypse Now — by the time the 1980s kicked off, but he would be a major Hollywood force by the time the decade wrapped up, thanks to roles in The Outsiders, The Breakfast Club, St. Elmo’s Fire, and Young Guns. Estevez has spent much of the past decade-and-a-half writing and directing various film and television projects, but he did return to the small screen in 2021 to reprise his role of Gordon Bombay in the Disney+ series The Mighty Ducks: Game Changers.

Rob Lowe

Rob Lowe became one of the biggest heartthrobs of the 1980s thanks to appearances in The Outsiders, St. Elmo’s Fire, and several other iconic movies. In the years since then, Lowe has found tremendous success on television, including shows like The West Wing, Parks and Recreation, and most recently, 9-1-1: Lone Star, a series he has led since its inception in 2020.

Val Kilmer

In the 1980s, Val Kilmer played an assortment of roles in movies like Top Secret!, Real Genius, Top Gun, and Willow, carving a place out for himself in the annals of Hollywood greats. That success would follow Kilmer throughout the 1990s and early 2000s, but the talented actor would face a major challenge later on when he was diagnosed with throat cancer, a battle that would end with him losing the ability to speak. Despite that, he released the heartfelt and enlightening documentary, Val, in 2021.

Ralph Macchio

Whether he was making us cry in The Outsiders or leaving us on the edges of our seats in The Karate Kid, Ralph Macchio gave it his all in the 1980s, turning out a number of box office hits. Winona Ryder

In the final two years of the 1980s, Winona Ryder made a name for herself with stellar performances in Beetlejuice, Heathers, and Great Balls of Fire!, and she has really not stopped since. Since 2016, Ryder has been one of the biggest stars of the Netflix series Stranger Things, which is slated to return for a fourth season at some point in 2022.

Ally Sheedy

The fifth and final member of The Breakfast Club cast to be featured on this list, Ally Sheedy was a massive star in the 1980s with movies like WarGames, St. Elmo’s Fire, Short Circuit, and several others. Sheedy’s most recent film appearance came in 2016 with a cameo in X-Men: Apocalypse.

Matt Dillon

In the 1980s, Matt Dillon starred in movies like The Outsiders, Rumble Fish, Drugstore Cowboy, and nearly a dozen others, cementing his place as one of the most prolific actors of the decade. Dillon hasn’t really slowed down all that much since then, with his most recent projects including titles like Land of Dreams, Capone, and Wes Anderson's mysterious upcoming movie, Asteroid City.

Jennifer Grey

Jennifer Grey will always be remembered as Frances “Baby” Houseman in Dirty Dancing, a role that capped off an impressive run that also included Red Dawn and Ferris Bueller’s Day Off. More recently, though, Grey has been in movies like Untogether and Bittersweet Symphony as well as several TV shows including Dancing with the Stars (which she won), The Conners, and a three-episode arc on Grey’s Anatomy.

Jennifer Beals

Jennifer Beals became an international sensation upon the release of Flashdance in 1983, and she hasn’t really slowed down since then. Over the course of the past few decades, Beals has made appearances in successful movies and TV shows, including Swamp Thing, The L Word: Generation Q, and the Star Wars upcoming series The Book of Boba Fett for Disney+.

Lea Thompson

All the Right Moves, Red Dawn, Back to the Future, Howard the Duck, and Back to the Future Part II are just some of the movies that featured Lea Thompson in the 1980s, a decade that would kick off one hell of a career. Thompson has remained busy over the years and has even directed her fair share of projects. This list includes everything from The Goldbergs to Stargirl, and Mom to Young Sheldon, with multiple others in-between.

Eric Stoltz

Even though he was recast in Back to the Future, Eric Stoltz had and impressive run in the 1980s with Mask, Some Kind of Wonderful, and Say Anything…, to name only a few. That run of successes continued as the years went by and eventually turned into work for Stoltz behind the scenes, including directing credits on shows like Law and Order, Glee, and Madame Secretary, and movies like Class Rank and Confessions of a Teenage Jesus Jerk.

Lou Diamond Phillips

Lou Diamond Phillips will probably always be remembered for his performances in La Bamba and Stand and Deliver, and rightfully so, but the talented actor has made several other contributions over the years. Recently, Phillips has landed roles on Longmire, Blue Bloods, Fear the Walking Dead, Prodigal Son, and multiple other projects in film and television.

Mary Stuart Masterson

Mary Stuart Masterson, who would go on to lead movies like Fried Green Tomatoes and Benny and Joon in the 1990s, found success in the 1980s in Some Kind of Wonderful, Chances Are, and Immediate Family, to name only a few. Following a 13-year absence from the big screen, Masterson returned in 2017 with As You Were, which she followed up with Skin and Daniel Isn’t Real. More recently, Masterson had a main role on the ABC legal drama, For Life.

Kevin Kline

The 1980s were good to Kevin Kline, who appeared in The Big Chill, Silverado, Cry Freedom, and A Fish Called Wanda (a role that earned him an Academy Award), though the good times never really stopped for the versatile actor. In 2021 alone, Kline appeared in Here Today, The Starling, The Good House, and continued to provide the voice of Mr. Calvin Fischoeder on the hit animated series Bob’s Burgers. Still no word on a Dave sequel, though.

Sean Astin

Sean Astin made his film debut in The Goonies in 1985, and his career has been one of the most consistent in Hollywood ever since. The past 35-plus years have seen him show up in Rudy, the Lord of the Rings trilogy, and countless other successful movies. His television career is just as impressive, with everything from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles to Stranger Things, and Supergirl to Brooklyn Nine-Nine. 

Adrienne Barbeau

Adrienne Barbeau kicked off the 1980s with appearances in three of the best John Carpenter movies — The Fog, Escape from New York, and The Thing (she was the voice of the computer and only woman in the cast) — as well as other classics like Creepshow and The Cannonball Run. In recent years, Barbeau has appeared in TV adaptations of Swamp Thing and Creepshow, as well as American Horror Stories and Cowboy Bebop.

Jerry O'Connell

Jerry O’Connell gave an unforgettable performance as Vernon “Vern” Tessio in Rob Reiner’s Stephen King adaptation Stand By Me in 1986, one that people still talk about 35 years after the fact. O’Connell has remained quite busy over the years, with multiple animated films that have seen him voice Superman. On top of that, he has been featured on The Big Bang Theory, Carter, Star Trek: Lower Decks, and even his own daytime talk show, Jerry O’.

Corey Feldman

In the 1980s, Corey Feldman became one of the most dependable young actors, with movies like Gremlins, The Goonies, Stand By Me, The Lost Boys, and The ‘Burbs. Over the years, Feldman has appeared in countless movies, TV shows, and documentaries, with his most recent appearance being in the 2021 slasher 13 Fanboy, in which he plays a version of himself. He has also written a series of albums, including the 2021 release, Love Returns.

Patrick Dempsey

The 1987 release of Can’t Buy Me Love instantly made Patrick Dempsey a household name, and he hasn’t let go of his place in pop culture since. Whether it’s with Grey’s Anatomy or Enchanted (which has a sequel, Disenchanted, on the way), Dempsey has remained a dreamy leading man on the big screen and small screen alike, and it doesn’t look like he’s going anywhere anytime soon.

Steve Guttenberg

Between the Police Academy movies, Cocoon, and Short Circuit, it’s safe to say that Steve Guttenberg had a nice run in the 1980s, and lucky for him (and us), the hits never really stopped coming. In recent years, “The Gut” has balanced between comedy series like The Goldbergs and legal dramas like Roe v. Wade, with all kinds of other work to boot, including a 2020 appearance on Last Week Tonight with John Oliver.

Zach Gilligan

Zach Gilligan’s run in Hollywood started with a little 1984 movie called Gremlins, which he followed up with Nothing Lasts Forever and Waxwork to close out the decade. Since then, Gilligan has appeared in countless film and TV roles, and even appeared as his Gremlins character (alongside Gizmo) in the Mountain Dew Super Bowl commercial.

Michael Winslow

Michael Winslow, also known as The Man of 10,000 Sound Effects, had an insane record in the 1980s, appearing in Spaceballs, Police Academy, Gremlins, and multiple other timeless classics. Winslow has continued to share his talents with the world in the decades since breaking out as one of the most talented beat-boxers around. In 2021, he even appeared on America’s Got Talent.

This may appear to be an exhaustive list of iconic '80s actors, but this is barely scratching the surface. Who knows, maybe we'll make another list of all the stars we forgot, or perhaps touch on those big names of the 1990s.

Unfortunately, several actors from this beloved movie, including John Matuszak, who played Sloth, and Mary Ellen Trainor, who played Irene Walsh, have since passed away. We'll take a moment to highlight Anne Ramsey's career towards the end of this article.

Sean Astin (Michael “Mikey” Walsh)

As Michael "Mikey" Walsh, the leader of this ragtag group of treasure seekers, Sean Astin plays the child protagonist in Richard Donner's beloved 1984 movie. Outside of this role, Astin is known for playing Samwise Gamgee in The Lord of the Rings trilogy and the titular character in Rudy. His other notable film credits include 50 First Dates, Click, Bulworth, Courage Under Fire, Encino Man, Toy Soldiers, The War of the Roses, Like Father Like Son, Memphis Belle, The Do-Over, and Gloria Bell. Additionally, Astin was Oscar-nominated for his 1995 short film, Kangaroo Court, which he also produced. He's also produced The Final Season, Do You Believe?, The Freemason, and Slipstream.

Furthermore, away from film, Sean Astin played Bob Newby in Netflix's Stranger Things and Lynn McGill in Fox's 24. He also starred in No Good Nick, The Strain, Special Agent Oso, Hercules, and Jeremiah. Most recently, Astin appeared in Hero Mode and the short film, Oh, the Guilt. Next, the actor will be seen in iMordecai and heard in Men & Witch.

Josh Brolin (Brandon “Brand” Walsh)

In the role of Brandon Walsh, i.e. "Brand," Mikey's athletic older brother, Josh Brolin found his first brushes of fame in this cult classic. Most notably, he was Oscar-nominated for his supporting turn in Milk. Furthermore, Brolin played Thanos in Guardians of the Galaxy and Avengers: Infinity War and Endgame. The actor also starred in No Country For Old Men, W., Men in Black 3, Labor Day, Oldboy, True Grit, Jonah Hex, Sin City: A Dame to Kill For, and the Sicario movies. Corey Feldman (Clark “Mouth” Devereaux)

Playing the part of Clark Devereaux, better known as "Mouth" for his cheeky tongue, Corey Feldman received one of his most famous roles in The Goonies. As a child actor, Feldman starred in Stand By Me, Gremlins, Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter, The Lost Boys, License to Drive, The 'Burbs, and Dream a Little Dream. His other film credits include Meatballs 4, Voodoo, Maverick, National Lampoon's Loaded Weapon 1, Citizen Toxie: The Toxic Avenger IV, Sharknado 3: Oh Hell No!, Time After Time, and Lost Boys: The Tribe and The Thirst. Additionally, Feldman is heard in The Fox and the Hound and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles I and III. He was also the director and star of Busted.

Outside of acting, Corey Feldman has six albums to his name. He's also the author of Coreyography: A Memoir. Most recently, Feldman lent his voice to Age to Stone and Sky: The Sorcerer Beast. Next, he'll be seen in 13 Fanboy and Tales from the Dead Zone.

Jeff Cohen (Lawrence “Chunk” Cohen)

As Lawrence "Chunk" Cohen, the portly, often berated, and serial fabulist member of The Goonies, Jeff Cohen played the comedic relief in Richard Donner's cult classic. The film remains his only theatrical release. Cohen also appeared in TV movies like Little Shots and Ask Max. Additionally, he lent his voice to Scooby-Doo and the Ghoul School.

Furthermore, on television, Jeff Cohen provided guest star appearances in Family Ties, The Facts of Life, Webster, Kids Incorporated, Amazing Stories, She's the Sheriff, and Tales from the Darkside. He can also be heard in Popeye and Son. In 1991, Cohen ended his acting career with Disney Channel's Perfect Harmony. Jonathan Ke Huy Quan (Richard “Data” Wang)

In the role of Richard Wang, i.e. "Data," an amateur gadget fanatic, Jonathan Ke Huy Quan plays a quick-thinking and tech-savvy character in The Goonies. Most famously, Quan is known for his role as Short Round in Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom. His other film credits include Encino Man, Breathing Fire, Red Pirate, It Takes a Thief, Passenger, Cousin Dave Stole the Cookie, and Second Time Around. Additionally, on television, Quan starred in ABC's Head of the Class. The child actor also appeared in Together We Stand, Tales from the Crypt, and The Big Eunuch and the Little Carpenter.

Additionally, outside of acting, Jonathan Ke Huy Quan worked as an assistant fight choreographer and stunt rigger for X-Men. Kerri Green (Andrea Theresa “Andy” Carmichael)

Playing the part of Andrea Theresa "Andy" Carmichael, Brand's love interest, Kerri Green made her acting debut in this beloved '80s favorite. Following this film, the actress appeared in Summer Rental, Lucas, Three for the Road, and Blue Flame. Additionally, on TV, Green was a guest star on Mad About You, ER, Law & Order: SVU, Cafe American, Tainted Blood, The Burden of Proof, In the Heat of the Night, and Murder, She Wrote.

As Stephanie Steinbrenner, a.k.a. "Stef," Andy's best friend, Martha Plimpton plays a fellow adventure-seeker in The Goonies. Most notably, Plimpton won an Emmy for her work as Patti Nyholm in CBS's The Good Wife. She was also Emmy-nominated for her lead role in Fox's Raising Hope and her guest turn in Law & Order: SVU. Additionally, Plimpton received Tony nominations for The Coast of Utopia, Top Girls, and Pal Joey.

Having appeared in over 130 movies, Davi is best known for his performances in Die Hard, License to Kill, Predator 2, and Showgirls. His other notable film credits include The Hot Chick, In the Mix, Kill the Irishman, The Expendables 3, Cops and Robbersons, Son of the Pink Panther, Maniac Cop 2, Raw Deal, City Heat, and Action Jackson. Davi also wrote, produced, directed, and starred in The Dukes and produced and directed Magic. Most recently, Robert Davi appeared in Roe v. Wade. A prominent character actor with over 100 credits on his resume, Pantoliano's most famous film credits include The Matrix, Memento, La Bamba, Bound, The Fugitive, Risky Business, and the Bad Boys movies. Additionally, he provided supporting turns in Daredevil, The Adventures of Pluto Nash, Ready to Rumble, U.S. Marshals, Percy Jackson & The Olympians: The Lightning Thief, Black and White, Baby's Day Out, Midnight Run, Running Scared, and Empire of the Sun.

Her other movie credits include Scrooged, Any Which Way You Can, Goin' South, National Lampoon's Class Reunion, Dr. Hackenstein, Weeds, Love at Stake, Deadly Friend, Meet the Hollowheads, and Homer and Eddie. It used to be that if you were looking for Jason Voorhees to stalk you into theaters, all you had to do was wait for the next Friday the 13th movie to arrive. Eventually, due to legal issues and underwhelming reboots, the odds of running into Jason in the woods became as slim as his machete blade. However, if former franchise star Corey Feldman is anyone to believe, Friday the 13th might finally return to theaters in the near future.

While speaking with MovieWeb, Corey Feldman had some interesting knowledge to drop for fans of the legacy slasher franchise. It started with the fact that if Friday the 13th is getting into a position to cut into production on a legacyquel, Feldman has an idea on where it should pick up. Which led to the following rundown on how he’s been made to believe the legal woes surrounding this franchise are settled:

Some of you might be a bit confused as to why Corey Feldman is so passionate about Friday the 13th, so let’s run through a quick history lesson. Feldman played the character of Tommy Jarvis in Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter. Meant to originally end the Jason Voorhees saga, young Tommy helped kill Jason, but was teased to potentially be the next slasher to haunt Camp Crystal Lake. A couple more sequels without Corey Feldman’s interpretation of the character further tested the waters, but ultimately Tommy went from being the next Jason to a legacy victim.

It’s unknown how the “Tommy vs. Jason” concept works with those subsequent installments, but Corey Feldman feels that this lawyer’s case is legit enough for him to resurrect hopes of a return to theaters for Friday the 13th. Though way before this new hope sprang eternal, Feldman apparently helped work out a treatment for this new installment thanks to the help of another franchise veteran:

In a scenario that feels like the reverse of Paul Rudd’s invitation back to the Halloween series, Corey Feldman is convinced that Friday the 13th is ready to return, with him reprising his legacy role in a Halloween H20-style showdown. Which is great, because a legacyquel, or any return of Jason Voorhees at this point, is something that fans have been hoping to see for some time. Naturally we’ll have to wait and see if any official movement is made on bringing the Paramount/Warner Bros-connected series back to life; but it does sound like we might see Camp Crystal Lake return within our time, finally giving proper closure to one of the most chilling endings of horror history.

For now, audiences will just have to gorge themselves on the upcoming horror offerings that 2021, and beyond, have to offer. And if you want to watch any or all of the Friday the 13th movies, at the time of this writing, all you need is a subscription to both Starz and HBO Max. The Goonies is one of the beloved movies the '80s ever produced. Heartfelt, funny, frightening, and full of lovable, quirky characters, the film captured the hearts and curiosities of millions and became an instant classic. In fact, it's still so popular that even Deadpool had something to say about the film. Oh, and the main characters even appeared as LEGOs. Couple those references with the fact that the film's screenwriter won't ever abandon a sequel and you've got a film that won't ever leave our cultural consciousness.

Unfortunately for that screenwriter, one of the film's leading actors basically confirmed that a sequel is unlikely. Improbable might even be a better word. During a recent interview with Us Magazine, The Goonies star Corey Feldman revealed that budget constraints kept a sequel from ever being greenlit.

A sequel to The Goonies would've been cool, but where could they have taken the story? The original wrapped things up so well that it's difficult to imagine a sequel stacking up or even being necessary.

That questions coupled with this new revelation from Corey Feldman, is probably why Sean Astin (who, long after The Goonies, also appeared in another kid-led mystery series) doesn't think a sequel will ever happen. Knowing what we know now, he's probably correct. And that's a bummer for the generations of fans, especially because both Corey Feldman and Sean Astin have been fighting for a sequel for decades.

Alas, the pair of actors would know this disappointment better than anyone. And it sounds like they were undoubtedly quite disappointed when Richard Donner shot down the idea. I would have too, especially if I was associated with the film the way they are.

On a more positive note, it's nice to see that two of the movie's best and most famous actors are still passionate about the project, even if making it isn't feasible. All of the film's performers emanate enthusiasm. I noticed it when I watched the film as a kid and I still catch it every time I watch it now.

It's somewhat sad, but any hope for a Goonies sequel is probably squashed now. Despite the film world's penchant for reboots.

On Tuesday night, Corey Feldman was rushed to the hospital, claiming he was stabbed by multiple unknown individuals. Details were scarce in the day to follow, but more information has been revealed about the former child actor's scary situation. As it is reported today, Corey Feldman is being tested for infections after he was allegedly stabbed with a possible syringe. Feldman is deeply shaken by the traumatic incident, and concerned for his safety.

People provided an update on Corey Feldman's situation. According to the actor/musician's representative, Feldman not only believes he was stabbed by a syringe of some sort, but he is concerned that it may be infected. He is currently being "tested for HIV" and any other disease he might've procured from an infected needle. As it was noted yesterday, Feldman believes that he was attacked by a "wolfpack" out to potentially silence him.

According to Corey Feldman's account, the actor was sitting at a stoplight in a car with his security team when his door was opened and he was jabbed by an unknown object by an unidentified individual (or individuals) at approximately 10:45 PM. Feldman's condition was considered stable yesterday, and when Corey Feldman told his Twitter followers about the incident, he stressed that he was okay. Feldman also tweeted that the LAPD considered the incident an "attempted homicide" and that they were investigating it as such, but the LAPD has come forward to deny that's the case. The LAPD also noted there were no subject or subject descriptions available at this time, and that their investigation of the incident was still ongoing.

Corey Feldman, however, claims the incident is the result of "vile" online attackers who've formed a wolfpack to bring him down. He believes this attack is not only connected, but in response to, his extra efforts to shine a light on child sexual abuse in the entertainment industry. Last year, Feldman started a GoFundMe page seeking $10 million in donations to expose and bring down alleged pedophiles around or previously in the Hollywood scene. Since the fall of last year, after his recent tour with his band, Corey's Angels, Corey Feldman has focused most of his time and effort into this pursuit.

While Corey Feldman has no proof that this wolfpack of people threatening and harassing him online are the ones responsible for his recent hospital stay, he remains terrified. It is also noted that the attackers didn't ask for Feldman's wallet or take his car. The attack was "quick" and it happened so fast that Corey Feldman didn't get a chance to see who put him in the hospital. Feldman's representative claims that Feldman didn't know what hit him.

Corey Feldman is not having a great week. The former child actor is in the hospital this morning after he claims he was stabbed multiple times last night by a "wolfpack" out to get him and potentially silence him. Feldman notes that the LAPD are investigating the incident as an attempted homicide, though that claim is being disputed by the LAPD themselves.

Corey Feldman's hospital news comes from the actor/musician himself, when he tweeted the following distressed message and accompanying photos. Thankfully, Feldman stresses that he's doing okay, despite the scary situation that happened to him on Tuesday night. It's also worth noting that Corey Feldman didn't post any pictures of his injuries on social media. The photos only show him in bed. You can take a look at Feldman's message below.

Scary stuff. Thankfully, Corey Feldman reports he's getting better, though the actor believes the attack was a pointed one. Earlier today on Twitter, Feldman claimed his stabbing was the result of his "vile" Internet attackers, and he believes that this "wolfpack" was who put him in the hospital.

But that might not be completely true. The LAPD reportedly told Page Six they're not actively looking into this incident as an attempted homicide, as Corey Feldman claimed on social media to his followers. So, either something was lost in translation or Corey Feldman was fed the wrong information. The LAPD also claims Feldman didn't have "any visible lacerations" and that there are no suspects or subject descriptions available at this moment. It's worth noting that prior to the stabbing that occurred last night, Feldman was seeking extra security as he feared for his safety and well-being. Last year, he has taken extra efforts to expose child sexual abuse in the entertainment industry, and the former child actor believes these things are connected. He was seeking $10 million in donations in order to expose and bring down alleged alleged pedophiles around or previously in the Hollywood scene.

According to the recounts of the incident, Corey Feldman was in a car at a spotlight at approximately 10:45 PM when an unidentified individual (or individuals) opened Feldman's door and "jabbed at Feldman with an unknown object." Thankfully, Feldman's medicial condition is considered stable.

Specifically, Feldman officially came forward during an appearance on Today and told Matt Lauer that he wants to raise a $10 million budget to fund a movie (tentatively titled Corey's Truth) about Hollywood pedophilia. To achieve this goal, he plans to use crowdfunding techniques and completely circumvent the traditional Hollywood system.

Of course, while it's a meager budget relative to a large-scale blockbuster like Justice League or Thor: Ragnarok, $10 million is nothing to scoff at when making a movie. In the face of the questions that such a small fortune raises, Corey Feldman addressed the size of the sum to clear up any misconceptions. He said:

Corey Feldman made sure to note that he intends to use the names of the alleged perpetrators in this film, and as such, the legal protection that would be required afterward will make up a portion of this film's budget. He has apparently promised to release these names on several different occasions, but Friday the 13th star feels a self-funded and distributed film seems to be his best chance to get them out into the open without oversight.

The Friday the 13th franchise has been on ice for almost a decade. And while attempts to revive Jason Voorhees have been somewhat unsuccessful in recent years, fan enthusiasm for the iconic slasher seems to remain high. As it turns out, one person who's still interested in seeing the Friday the 13th franchise return is none other than Tommy Jarvis actor Corey Feldman. In fact, the actor recently opened up and explained how he would like to see the franchise return to the silver screen -- by taking a few cues from Halloween: H20. Feldman elaborated:

Although Tommy Jarvis has popped up here and there in the years since Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter debuted, Feldman seems to think that the best way to revive him for the modern age would be to explicitly cast him in the role again and cap off his arc with Jason in a mano-a-mano fight. This process would allow the franchise to ignore most of the weaker sequels, and create a new narrative taking place three decades after the events of The Final Chapter.

As far as roadmaps go, H20 is arguably a solid direction. The belated Halloween sequel is widely regarded as one of the superior entries in the entire Halloween franchise, and (despite changes made by Halloween: Resurrection) it effectively capped off the series when it debuted back in 1998.

The Friday the 13th series could easily do the same with a similarly belated sequel to The Final Chapter. By picking up with Corey Feldman's version of Tommy Jarvis, it creates a sense of continuity for the franchise as a whole and could help cap off a proper arc for this iconic horror universe. This property has needed a fitting final chapter for quite some time, and this could be a great way to provide it. Corey Feldman's comments to Yahoo Movies (via Movie Web) indicate that New Line seems open to the idea, so we will have to wait and see what happens.

For a long time, Corey Feldman had a reputation as a troubled child star. Rising to fame early in life with roles in various movies and television shows, he eventually became a drug user and it wound up having a bad effect on his career. At the age of 18 he was starting to have issues with substance abuse as he was working on director Joe Dante's The 'Burbs, and it apparently became such a concern that the filmmaker and his co-star Carrie Fisher had to confront him about it:

Referencing Carrie Fisher's famous book that was adapted into a movie in 1990, Corey Feldman recently talked about his experiences with the actress when he participated in a Facebook Live session with Yahoo!. Feldman was asked specifically about the intervention that was held behind the scenes of The 'Burbs, and he recounted the story, remembering the words that Fisher said that helped him keep himself together.

In the interview, Corey Feldman says that up to that point he had been a drug user, smoking weed in his trailer and using cocaine with comedian Sam Kinison, but was also, as he put it, "getting back to his sober roots." He thought that he was fine at the time, but now believes that Carrie Fisher and Joe Dante must have seen something in him that just wasn't 100 percent right. This apparently helped for a short while, but it ultimately turned out that Fisher and Dante were right to be concerned. According to Feldman, it was a year later that he was a heroin addict, and was arrested for outstanding traffic warrants and possession.

In The 'Burbs, Corey Feldman played Ricky Butler, a neighbor of Ray (Tom Hanks) and Carol Peterson (Carrie Fisher). The story is primarily set in the cul-de-sac where they live, and finds Hanks' character become obsessed with the notion that the new family on the block are homicidal Satan worshipers. The movie was poorly received when it was released in 1989, but has since picked up a cult following.

Of course, Carrie Fisher famously had her own issues with substance abuse throughout her life, and it also played a role in her death last December (discovered during the autopsy when a mixture of drugs were found in her system). Tragic as the whole thing is, it is stories like her intervention with Corey Feldman that help us remember what an incredible woman she really was.

It was only a matter of time -- in our reboot, remake and recycle culture -- when Hollywood reached the Corey Haim and Corey Feldman comedies as fodder for reimagined movies aimed at a new generation. And because we only need simple tweaks made to original films for them to warrant a new version, audiences are going to get a License to Drive remake, only with two female leads in place of the two Coreys.

Deadline has the news, reporting that producer John Davis is setting up this project at 20th Century Fox. In the report, this new License of Drive being described as "the female version of Superbad," and right away, I have to say, "Nope." Did John Davis even SEE the original License to Drive? It's not raunchy like Superbad, nor is it edgy. It's borderline sweet, with an obvious (and harmless) PG-13 sheen to it. This new one sounds like it wants to strip away the innocence of the Corey Feldman and Corey Haim movie, which lightly capitalized on the chemistry between the oft-paired cinematic duo. We'll see what is to become of the remake.

What the hell is License to Drive, you ask? I'll fill you in. During the 1980s, teen-pop sensations Corey Haim and Corey Feldman (good friends on the screen and off) teamed up for a series of movies, with varying degrees of popularity. It started with The Lost Boys in 1987, shifted to License to Drive in 1988, and took a darker right turn with the mystical Dream a Little Dream in 1989. They'd collaborate on projects off and on over the years, but that span was peak Corey/Corey action, and License was their goofy teen comedy, where Haim plays a SoCal kid who fails his driving test, but ignores the law so he can keep a date with a beautiful classmate (played by a young Heather Graham). Her name was Mercedes Lane. Subtlety didn't exist in 1988.

The biggest hook of a License to Drive remake will be the casting. Audiences back in 1988 loved the chemistry between Corey Haim and Corey Feldman (this is a real thing that happened). Producers on the remake will have to find two girls that we will enjoy playing off of each other, and it's not like either Corey had a type to play. They just meshed well together, and made a flat, silly, clichéd concept like License bounce along. We'll continue to track how this movie comes together. Corey Feldman is a married man... yet again! The '80s movie mainstay who has recently made waves for his musical endeavors tied the knot with his bandmate, model Courtney Anne, and the reason for the marriage was surprisingly just as political as it was romantic.

On Tuesday, Corey Feldman married his girlfriend Courtney Anne in Las Vegas after four years of dating, TooFab.com confirmed. Anne is also one of the angels in Feldman's band Corey's Angels. The marriage comes two weeks after Feldman proposed to Anne with a cutesy throwback to classroom notes that ask the receiver to check yes or no. After his new bride checked yes, Feldman shared the happy news with PEOPLE, and also told them that he actually had a bit of a political motive in proposing shortly after Donald Trump was named president-elect. Apparently, Feldman wanted to be sure that his Canadian-born lover would be safe if Trump carried out his campaign promise to massively increase efforts to deport illegal immigrants.

After the wedding news was announced on Tuesday, Corey Feldman tweeted about the special day and promised there'd be even more news to come.

Though Corey Feldman has reportedly been dating Courtney Anne for years, it was only in recent months that the two started making headlines due to a pair of bizarre performances by their band, Corey's Angels, on TODAY. Two months ago, Feldman and Anne, along with a couple of other women dressed in angel costumes, performed their new song "Go 4 It" on the morning talk show, and it was quickly met with critical derision online. The actor and musician has spoken about the traumatic events of his early life as a child star before, and now he's opening up even more about his parents were also involved in the abuse he suffered from the entertainment industry.

In this week's issue of PEOPLE, Corey Feldman describes his childhood in the limelight as a traumatic time, saying that he felt like a "slave child" after being forced into acting at the age of 3.

Corey Feldman has begun to speak openly about the abuse he underwent as a child star in recent years. In his 2013 autobiography Coreyography, Feldman revealed that his mother would force-feed him diet pills as a child, and he also stated that one of his father's assistants had raped him and facilitated his drug addiction. Due to these abuses, Feldman filed for emancipation from his parents at age 15, only to find that the $1 million he had accrued through his acting career had been picked dry by his parents.

And it wasn't only his parents that Corey Feldman accused of abusing him --- although Feldman starred in beloved classics like Goonies, Stand By Me, and Gremlins, he says that what was going on behind the scenes was horrendous. A year after his best friend and fellow '80s child star Corey Haim died in 2010, Feldman revealed that he and Haim had both been molested during their years as child actors.

Now, Corey Feldman has his own son, and he says that it's because of his terrible childhood experiences that he is choosing to keep his 12-year-old son, Zen, out of the spotlight.

Though Corey Feldman's ex-wife, model Susie Sprague, retains custody of their son, Feldman is apparently still involved in Zen's life. Feldman and Sprague married during the season 1 finale of The Surreal Life in 2002. M.C. Hammer officiated the nuptials. They stayed together for seven years before divorcing in 2009.

Nowadays, Corey Feldman is focusing on his music career. He made waves a month back after a bizarre performance of his single "Go 4 It" on the TODAY Show, during which he wore an all-black hooded outfit while backed by a band of women dressed in angel costumes. The strange performance received considerable media attention, and Feldman criticized for his jarring behavior by some, before singers like P!nk and Miley Cyrus defended him. On Thursday, Feldman returned to the TODAY Show for a "comeback" performance of his song "Take A Stand," which also featured Feldman in a hooded outfit and angelic backups.

Well, prepare yourselves, because your impression of him might be about to change...a lot. Um...OK...I just...Uh. Alright, let me just take a moment to catch my breath and ease my racing thoughts so that this whole article isn't a series of ums, whats and ughs. Phew, OK, now I'm ready to discuss this...musical performance. The video of Corey Feldman's appearance on the Today show was posted on the madbadhadsad YouTube page, and, thank heavens they have allowed us to view this performance of "Go 4 It" again, because there are lots of things to say about it.

After a brief intro detailing some of Feldman's movie hits, we're informed by hosts Billy Bush and Sheinelle Jones that not only does the song he'll perform come from his new double album, "Angelic 2 the Core", but that he's been working on this masterpiece for 10 years. We're also told by Feldman that the recording is dedicated to, among others, Michael Jackson, who I'm sure would have loved to hear that. In the words of Billy Bush, "Tell me what's happening!"

Corey Feldman is pleased as punch to discuss his music, and seems especially proud of the, ahem, artwork on the cover of this CD, which shows him being pulled out of a fiery pit by two buxom angels. He's backed by some ladies, whom he calls Corey's Angels, and, apparently, they're all beautiful lost women who need to find their way in life. So, you know, thank the heavens above for Corey Feldman helping out all those gorgeous lost ladies, or who knows what would happen to them, right?

Then, of course, without much more preamble, Feldman begins to flap his arms and the performance starts. And, well, I don't even really know what to say about what happened next.

All of it is just odd. Corey Feldman is singing his heart out, Corey's Angels are playing his backing track (I guess), and they're also serving as his background singers. There's some more arm flapping and some prancing, and some interpretive dance. Feldman throws his hood off at one point, you know, so he can really get down while he sings. He's clearly very into the whole thing, and even busts out some Michael Jackson-esque dance moves...

Alright, you're seen it, and don't pretend you haven't watched it multiple times by now. Go on, tell us, what's your favorite part? The singing? This week marks 30 years since the release of Stand By Me, the ultimate coming-of-age comedy drama that's all provoked by one simple question: "You guys want to see a dead body?" Just as rewarding upon your twelfth as well as first viewing, Stand By Me is right up there with The Shining and The Shawshank Redemption as the greatest Stephen King adaptation ever, something that the writer has admitted himself. Still, what made Stand By Me -- which grossed $52.3 million from just an $8 million budget after receiving rave reviews -- so instantly beloved from its first day of release all the way up to now?

It helps that it's charmingly sentimental, funny, so easy to watch thanks to Rob Reiner's impeccable direction, perfectly cast and is buoyed by Richard Dreyfus' nostalgically sage narration that immediately makes you think back to your own misspent youth and consider how glorious it was, while at the same time making you wish you'd grown up in the 1950s with Chris Chambers as your best friend. However, what truly made it so impactful is that it's packed full of life-altering moments and scenes that are just a little bit familiar as well as gorgeously cinematic. Here are the five greatest moments from Stand By Me that will immediately want to make you re-watch the film all over again.

5. "What He Wanted Was Revenge."

One of the best mini stories told within a film in cinematic history (alongside A Serious Man's Goy's Teeth and Pulp Fiction's Gold Watch), The Revenge Of Lard Ass Hogan is also preposterously disgusting, too. That's because it features its eponymous character vomiting, thanks to the aid of a full bottle of castor oil, a raw egg and umpteen pies, in someone's face. That was his plan all along, though, as he then sits back in glee as his sick provokes the rest of the tent to basically vomit in unison, too. The precise reason for the story is still hard to pin down, though. It brings to light both Gordie's prowess as a story-teller and his twisted, vindictive mindset following the death of his brother. Mostly it's just a really entertaining, surreal, and wonderfully juvenile tale in amongst the child abuse, death, corpses, loss of innocence and trains. Plus, since it was such a key component of Stephen King's The Body, it would have been sacrilege to leave it out, despite the fact that Teddy didn't like the ending.

4. "There He Is. I See Him. I See Him."

What's so perfect about Stand By Me's conclusion is just how understated it is. Films that sign post their endings from the get-go often fail to satisfy, as they can't build upon what's been promised. Fortunately upon the sight of Ray Brower's body, you can immediately see the growth and demise of innocence of the characters, and the impact that it's had on each of them. All four actors -- Will Wheaton, River Phoenix, Jerry O'Connell and Corey Feldman -- showcase a subtly that still powerfully resonates and is way beyond their years, while you get a palpable sense of the noticeable change in each of them. As Dreyfus utters in his narration, "We'd only been gone for two days, but somehow the town seemed different. Smaller." Because of this nostalgic yearning, you can't help but look back on your own life, at your old friends, and smirk at your own preposterous antics. That's a rare power for a movie to provoke. That's why Stand By Me should be celebrated and appreciated as the bona-fide classic that it is.

3. "Vern, There's Something On Your Neck."

Not only did Stand By Me ruin playing on train tracks for kids, but it also taught us never to go and play in a swap in the middle of the forest. Why? Because of blood-sucking leeches, that's why. After taking the short-cut through the forest to get to Ray Brower's body, the foursome end up in a pool of murky water. They're unable to resist the allure of a nautical scrap, but that soon turns into mayhem when Gordie notices a leech on Vern's neck. They quickly brush them off each other, with Rob Reiner using sharp, quick edits to underline the urgency, before Gordie realizes that his own manhood has been a victim. The shot of a leech and blood being removed from Gordie's pants is both immediately gruesome and wince inducing. Makes you think he might have been better off being killed by the train after all.

2. "We Talked All Into The Night. The Kind Of Talk That Feels Important Until You Discover Girls."

While the soon-to-be-discussed train dodge is _Stand By Me's ___most memorable scene, the real heart, and ultimately the main reason for Stand By Me's enduring appeal, comes to the fore in the camp side sequence. It's noy just because of Gordie's story of Davie 'Lard-Ass' Hogan, but because of the trivial, yet integral, chatter that they partake in, which as Dreyfus' narration notes "feels important until you discover girls." The foursome try to figure out what the hell Goofy is, Vern reveals that he'd eat cherry flavor Pez all day for the rest of his life if he could, all the while the specter of Ray Brower's corpse looms large, without being mentioned. It's a reminder that the quartet are still kids, even though they're on the cusp of realizing the limitations of life and are beginning to harden and become more cynical.

1. "The All Time Train Dodge."

Stand By Me's most iconic sequence sees Chambers, Lachance, Vern and Duchamp crossing over a train track on a bridge with a 100 feet vertical drop down to the water either side of it. There's no room for them to escape if a train comes hurtling towards them, which it inevitably does. Chambers and Duchamp are close enough to the end to get out safe and sound, but Gordie sticks with a struggling and rather portly Vern. They move agonizingly slow as the train speeds on the tracks ever closer to them, so much so that each time you watch it you're certain they'll be squashed. They make it. Just. With Gordie flinging himself and Vern off the side onto the inclining hill. It's tantalizing to watch, and unfolds in such a way where you genuinely consider, just for a moment, that the film might actually kill one if not both of them. In fact, it's only comparison is the _Toy Story 3 _incinerator scene.

The Goonies always has, and always will be, a monumental blockbuster from 1985. With droves of fans, both old and new, singing its praises, the Richard Donner film not only has longevity, it also has a bunch of people hoping there will be a sequel. While Donner himself has gone on record in recent years saying that he's confident in The Goonies 2 becoming a reality, one of the film's stars, Corey Feldman, doesn't share that same optimism. And it's because of Richard Donner himself.

More specifically, Feldman went on record in a recent interview with MovieWeb stating the following concerns about Donner's involvement with The Goonies 2:

It's hard to pick a side in the debate on whether The Goonies 2 will happen or not, especially when fellow co-stars Sean Astin and Josh Brolin also have some unique takes on the long overdue sequel's status. But what sets Corey Feldman apart from the rest of the pack is his concerns for Richard Donner's advancing age, a factor that is undoubtedly important to the status of the franchise's movement, as without him, it feels like the film will have trouble getting off the ground.

Though Corey Feldman has valid concerns, we can't help but feel that Richard Donner still has quite a sharp edge to his wit and his mind. Again, we submit the TMZ video from two years ago, when Donner first stoked interest in the project, as evidence.

The remarks made by Corey Feldman shouldn't be taken as any sort of shade throwing or nay-saying of any sort. Rather, Feldman sounds concerned about The Goonies legacy, so much so that he's justified his viewpoint with the following statement:

Seeing how Independence Day: Resurgence, and even the reboot of Ghostbusters have faired with audiences throughout their press coverage, the nostalgic blockbuster is not as rosy as the prospect once seemed. Still, if there were a movie that could get those longing for the blockbusters of the past revved up, you'd have to admit that The Goonies 2 would be the one to do it. We'll see what happens with this oft discussed sequel, and as soon as we have any new updates, you'll be the first to know!

There are a lot of ideas out there for The Goonies 2, yet none of them are earning a green light. Original Goonies director Richard Donner has one. Sean Astin says that he has one. And now Corey Feldman is saying that he helped cook up an elaborate plot for The Goonies 2, but at the very least, the actor understands why it’s likely never going to get off the ground.

Corey Feldman says that he and Goonies co-star Sean Astin became fast friends over the years, and they mapped out a lengthy plan for a new Goonies adventure, which they pitched to Richard Donner. Feldman tells Yahoo Movies that it would have expanded the scope of the kids-on-a-treasure-hunt 80s movie, saying:

Feldman claims that Richard Donner was “really impressed” with the idea these former Goonies had come up with, but he admits that it wasn’t “the right direction” for the sequel to go. He tells Yahoo that Donner told him the plan for The Goonies 2 was not to expand on the mythology, but rather to try and replicate what worked about the original, creating a small-scale, character-driven adventure story that has a ton of heart.

For that reason, it almost sounds like the idea that’s eventually going to work for The Goonies 2 will be a story centered around the children of the original treasure seekers. Corey Feldman says that the last thing that he has heard, the Goonies 2 story has to be based in reality, and it has to be set in Astoria, Oregon. So that’s where the sequel stands.  

In reality, will this ever happen? The more that time passes, the more I’m inclined to say no. Several people with deep ties to The Goonies have pushed to get The Goonies 2 made, starting with Richard Donner, but no headway has been made. And while the cast seems eager, the right story is still necessary to pull this sequel off, and I’m not sure they’ve been able to crack that code yet… or if they ever will. I kind of like Corey Feldman’s idea for The Goonies 2, with the adults on a globe-trotting adventure. Do you wish we were able to see that on screen, somehow?  

I’m a pretty curious television viewer, and thanks to this working from home deal, I have a lot of time on my hands. That combination, along with ample DVR space, leads me to check out or at least briefly check out a truly stupid number of TV shows. From House Or Horrors: Kidnapped to Mysteries At The Museum to Restaurant: Impossible, my DVR goes in a lot of strange places every week, but fortunately, there are still little treasures out there to be discovered—like Insane Clown Posse Theater, which is, without question, the single greatest Mystery Science Theater 3000-type show starring foul mouthed clowns ever broadcast.

The basic plot of the show features ICP’s Shaggy 2 Dope and Violent J, an assortment of their weirdo friends and sometimes a bizarre celebrity guest like Corey Feldman or Razor Ramon. Together, they watch (mostly) contemporary music videos and shout observations at the screen at high volumes. More often than not, these opinions involve wild conspiracy theories, perverted and colorful language and aggressive, unapologetic honesty. Disclaimers pop up on a regular basis explaining to the viewer all the information the guys are getting wrong, but they just keep on keeping on like strangely loveable uncles.

Based on their reputations, you would think the guys would try and cut down every artist that churns out popular music, but that actually couldn’t be further from the case. They geek out about Michael Jackson, Psy and even Bruno Mars. Seriously, Violent J apparently loves Bruno Mars. Watch him talk about how desperately he wants to be his friend in the clip below (and while you’re there, listen for Shaggy 2 Dope’s idiotic theory about gorilla sex)…

Of course, it wouldn’t be a proper ICP show if they didn’t at least occasionally fire off a series of verbal gunshots at people they don’t like, though. And that seems to happen a fair amount. I’m still working on backlogging through the program’s first two seasons, but I’ve seen them give it to Ke$ha about the way she pronounces her name, yell at Selena Gomez about how drop dead weird Spring Breakers is and most importantly, react in total shock after discovering Coldplay is a band and not just one person. Insane Clown Posse Theater isn’t for everyone. The show is unquestionably blue, and the language often meanders into sexist or homophobic territories, but at their cores, the guys really do seem to mean well. They don’t care about being wrong, looking stupid or offending anyone. They’re only interested in telling people exactly what they think, even if it means admitting Rihanna is kind of awesome or the only way Britney Spears would ever hang out with them is if she had another mental breakdown.

Insane Clown Posse Theater premiered on Fuse all the way back in 2013. The show typically airs on Wednesday nights and in repeats throughout the week, but right now, it’s on hiatus. With all the rumors about the channel possibly getting sold, there’s a chance the program has filmed its last episode. Hopefully, however, whoever does step up and purchase the network will realize what a gem it has on its hands and keep both this and Billy On The Street.

The lives of Corey Feldman and Corey Haim might have seemed glamorous to many on the outside looking in during the height of their fame in the mid to late 1980s, but from the inside looking out, it was apparently a miserable, hellish existence. Both child stars were reportedly molested by multiple older men, and each developed serious hard drug addictions that took a toll on their wallets and their careers.

All of the above reveals and a whole lot more are coming to light thanks to a memoir written by Feldman entitled Coreyography. To hype the book, the Goonies star released some transcripts to The New York Post, and most of them are double take shocking.

Feldman grew up the son of a Playboy model and a musician from the band Strawberry Alarm Clock. By the age of seven, he was the family’s primary source of income, and his mother allegedly forced diet pills down his throat on a regular basis. She also reportedly made him dye his hair blonde and refused to let him ride a bike out of fear he’d hurt himself and lose the ability to work.

During his teenage years, Feldman was reportedly being molested by a personal assistant his father hired. Later, he bonded with Haim when the actors discovered they shared traumatic histories of abuse. For the rest of their lives, the two actors ebbed and flowed in terms of closeness, both operating as the perfect shoulder and sounding board and sometimes pushing each other toward the wrong types of behaviors or the wrong people. In one photograph taken during Feldman’s fifteenth birthday party, the actor claims he and the other Corey are surrounded by a large group of men, five of whom turned out to be pedophiles.

Sadly, Haim was never able to completely get over all of the emotional issues that caused him to turn to drugs. He passed away a few years back, but Feldman has been free and clear of hard drugs for years. He’s still acting regularly in horror movies, and there’s every reason to believe he’s got a lot of good years ahead.

Is Hollywood run by pedophiles? That’s the claim being laid out by Corey Feldman, who says being a child star in the 80s got him molested. Actually, he says pedophilia is “the number one problem in Hollywood.” I thought it was 3D?

Talking to ABC Feldman says of his career, “I was surrounded by [pedophiles] when I was 14 years old. … Didn't even know it. It wasn't until I was old enough to realize what they were and what they wanted … till I went, Oh, my God. They were everywhere.” The way that phrased you might be thinking that he’s overreacting, maybe Corey thinks that people wanting to take his picture equals pedophilia or something… but wait there’s more.

Both he and his childhood friend Corey Haim have talked in the past about the fact that they were both molested at the same time. What’s more Feldman claims that Haim was molested by one powerful Hollywood mogul in particular. If that’s true, why not reveal that person’s name? Feldman says, “that person needs to be exposed, but, unfortunately, I can't be the one to do it.” Why not? You’re Corey Feldman, at this point in your life it can’t possibly hurt your career. Something’s fishy here.

It all comes down to how much can we really trust what Corey Feldman has to say. He has plenty of reason to lie here, alleging molestation is a great way to get extra publicity. Book publishers, for instance, are known to pay extra for celebrity tell-alls which contain a molestation story. Feldman can always use more publicity. But he seems so sincere, maybe we have to at least consider what he’s saying. After all, it would explain the career of Justin Bieber.

Except, Feldman’s accusations are pretty vague. They’re just specific enough to get his name in the headlines, but not specific enough to really prompt change or help any kid who may currently be caught in this alleged web of Hollywood pedophilia. Corey sums is up this way, “[T]here's a lot of good people in this industry, but there's also a lot of really, really sick, corrupt people. And there are people ... who have gotten away with it for so long that they feel they're above the law, and that's got to change” Do you believe him? Sound off in the comments below.

Goonies sequel rumors float around at least two or three times a year, and then never seem to go anywhere. Recently word was that any potential Goonies 2 project was probably dead, but now hey, they’re back.

In a Corey Feldman interview with the LA Times, there’s some strange hinting about another Goonies movie. In the quotes from Feldman included with the article, Corey himself never actually says anything about Goonies at all. But the Times still claims that he told them a Goonies sequel is in the works.

Their timing might actually be perfect. Earlier tonight a friend sent me these pictures straight from Astoria, Oregon:

Look familiar? Yep, that’s house from The Goonies and the driveway leading up to it. The movie was filmed there and interestingly, the house is currently being renovated. Should they choose to do a sequel, they’ll need the house. Looks like it will be ready.

The Two Coreys - Season 2

I don’t know what it is about The Two Coreys that keeps drawing me back. Is it because as a kid, for a brief time I thought Haim and Feldman were the greatest duo in the history of twosomes? Perhaps. Fate (with the help of A&E) brought the two 80’s teen icons back together last year with the first season of the series and despite having felt flashes of what can only be described as an awkward discomfort on more than one occasion during previous viewings of The Two Coreys, I still felt compelled to check out the premiere episode for the second season.

Things didn’t end well for the two Coreys last season. The friendship, which was strained from day one seemed to have fallen apart (again) by the end of the season. But obviously they’re willing to give their friendship another chance otherwise we wouldn’t be seeing a second season of this series. The premiere episode starts up with Corey Haim returning to L.A. to reunite with Feldman (again) and work on Lost Boys 2. Before they can be friends, they need to have a talk about where they’re at in the relationship. This involves an extremely uncomfortable meeting in which the two argue over who is more to blame for their falling out. They dig into their history, going past the things that took place during the first season of the show and bringing up things that happened when they were teenagers. One of the major issues they have involves at least one incident of sexual abuse that took place when they were younger.

Seeing as their problems run deeper than arguing over who drank the last of the orange juice, the two get set up with a couples therapist, who might be the key to keeping their friendship together. There’s something oddly amusing about two former celebrities seeing a marriage counselor together but at the same time, their relationship really does need a lot of work and having a professional on hand to referee some of their arguments isn’t such a bad thing.

Here’s the thing though, while these two have a lot of history, I don’t get the sense that either of them really wants the friendship to work. Or maybe it’s more that they’re both in different places in their lives, with Haim a bachelor and Feldman married and settled down. The show seems to focus almost entirely on the Coreys trying to get along, which just seems forced. It’s as though it takes an effort for them to even carry on a simple conversation. I guess there’s a certain train wreck quality to that, which is probably what gets people to tune in in the first place.

One of the things that I think holds the series back is the Coreys’ inability to really let their guards down in front of the cameras. Sure, they open up about some very personal things but I still get the impression that they’re both all too aware of the cameras. Having not been on a reality show myself I can’t say that I know what it’s like to have cameras on me all the time but comparing The Two Coreys to some of the other celebreality series out there, it just seems like even after a full season, these guys still haven’t allowed themselves to just act natural and let people see them as they really are.

Despite the mess that is the Corey/Corey relationship, I still can’t help watching this show. Maybe I’m just hoping to see both Coreys grow from this experience or at the very least, learn to like each other for the people they are now. Am I being totally overly optimistic and sappy? Who knows? Probably, but stranger things have happened on reality TV.
