Whatever you think of the Daredevil movie with Ben Affleck, there’s no disputing that Jennifer Garner is a badass in it. Even if you hadn’t seen the physical work she was capable of as the star of Alias, watching her show off her skills as Elektra Natchios was impressive. She was really able to display her efforts with the sai training scene, which is one of the most standout moments of the film.

But no fight scene or physical stunt is as easy as it looks, especially if you’re doing it correctly. And when you’re working with sais, which are pointed weapons used in martial arts that resemble a hand fork, you have to be prepared for anything to happen... and quickly react if it does. While revisiting some of the most memorable moments from her career with Vanity Fair, Jennifer Garner recalled a scary moment from that specific night:

For someone adept at stunts but not a seasoned professional, it must have been a terrifying moment to realize that you’ve pushed yourself so hard that you might have a serious physical injury if you don’t act immediately. Thankfully, the actress had a crew member step up to help her out before things got worse.

Another super defining aspect of that Elektra scene in the film is the smash hit Evanescence song, “Bring Me To Life,” that plays over it. Having first appeared in the film and on the soundtrack and later becoming the band’s debut single from their first studio album, Garner isn’t surprised that she’s become associated with the tune. She said:

The 13 Going on 30 star was also quick to shout out her stunt double, Shauna Duggins, who she worked alongside of on Daredevil and Elektra. Diggins used 20 years of ballet training to help pull off such a memorable moment, and had has since evolved into a stunt coordinator and second unit director. Garner reprised her role as Elektra in Deadpool & Wolverine, to the joy of fans who spent years watching the Marvel movies in order. That movie reignited her love-hate relationship with the character's signature weapons. “These stupid sais and I have really been through it,” the mom of three declared.

For the moment, Garner has hung up her sais to play a woman unable to move forward after a devastating loss who decides to host a weekend away with three friends in The Five Star Weekend. But I would definitely be down to see Garner play Elektra again in upcoming Marvel movies. Even if that’s not the case, some of the best Garner movies and shows have put the actress into epic action, and I’d be happy to watch her utilize her particular set of skills in any of them. If you watched Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 on the 2026 TV schedule like I did, the latest rumor about Season 3 may not come as a huge surprise, but that doesn’t mean I’m not psyched! It sounds like there is at least a decent chance that The Defenders (Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and Iron Fist) will be fully reunited in Season 3, and I really hope that is the case. It’s all still rumor at this point, but the amount of smoke is growing, and a fire seems more and more likely. Here’s what we know.

The Reunion That Started In Season 2 Will Allegedly Expand In Season 3

After Disney+ successfully revived what was formerly Netflix’s little corner of Marvel with the first season of Daredevil: Born Again, the streamer upped the ante by adding Jessica Jones (Krysten Ritter) to the fold in Season 2. Then, after a couple of mentions, we finally got our first look at Luke Cage (Mike Colter) since his own show ended in 2018 at the very end of the season finale. That left just one Defender unaccounted for, Danny Rand, aka Iron Fist (Finn Jones).

Rumors have quickly spread that Iron Fist would be part of Season 3, and this was more or less confirmed when photos of Mike Colter and Finn Jones on set appeared online. Now, a new rumor leans into that and claims that up to half of the upcoming season of Daredevil: Born Again would be about The Defenders. My Time to Shine Hello, who is known for his scoops on X, wrote:

If you’ll recall, Season 2 ended with Daredevil (well, Matt Murdock) getting arrested for being a “vigilante” in the outgoing Mayor Wilson Fisk’s New York, where such behavior was deemed illegal. It sounds like allies are ready to pick up where Daredevil left off, with the potential for a Heroes for Hire project if all goes well.

I Really Hope All Four Defenders Are Involved

I am a big fan of the Marvel shows that started on Netflix with the original Daredevil and continued with spinoffs Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and Iron Fist. Eventually, they all came together in the 8-episode show The Defenders. Those shows have now migrated away from Netflix into the official MCU and can be seen with a Disney+ subscription. I didn’t love The Defenders, but I don’t think Netflix gave them a fighting chance, as the whole enterprise seemed to be running on fumes at the end. I can’t wait to see if Disney+ can revive the superhero team and incorporate them even more into the MCU.

We all know the Avengers are returning on the 2026 movie schedule in Avengers: Doomsday, and I really liked 2025’s Thunderbolts* (though, a Daredevil cameo would have made it better), so bringing back another great superhero team like Defenders is exactly the kind of thing I want from the MCU. Especially because this was a team that started small and grew organically on screen, and that’s how I think things should be done. We’ve got a while to wait for Daredevil: Born Again Season 3 and see if these rumors are true, but it makes total sense, so there’s no reason to believe it’s not true.

Daredevil: Born Again’s second season went out with a bang last week on the 2026 TV schedule. The defining installment marks new eras for Matt Murdock, Wilson Fisk and others while also ushering in the return of Luke Cage. The finale also sets the stage for a new iteration of a villain viewers have already been acquainted with. Now, the series’ showrunner and EP is opening up about crafting that storytelling decision, and his take definitely has me excited for what’s to come in Season 3.

Heather Glenn – Matt Murdock’s therapist ex-girlfriend – spends much of Season 2 further aligning herself with Fisk’s administration. Simultaneously, though, she grapples with post-traumatic stress due to her nearly fatal encounter with the serial killer Muse from Season 1. Heather’s continued struggle with that incident as well as her attempts to stay away from her own darker tendencies gradually take hold of her. That becomes clear when, during the closing moments of the second season, she dons Muse’s mask.

So it would appear Glenn (who’s played by Margarita Levieva) will become the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s new Muse following the now-deceased Bastian Cooper. It’s an interesting turn of events, to say the least, though it sounds like executive producer Dario Scardapane has put a lot of thought into this. Apparently, as he explained to Entertainment Weekly, this second version of Muse can be partially attributed to the changes made to Born Again Season 1:

Initially, the reveal of Muse’s inclusion in Born Again generated significant fanfare, the character could’ve had more to do in that first season. So, if anything, it sounds like Scardapane and co. want to rectify that by having the character’s murderous spirit live on through someone victimized by the late killer. From the standpoint of furthering Heather’s characterization, Scardapane also wanted to analyze some aspects of the not-so-good doctor’s psyche:

Just thinking about how Heather – someone who’s spent her life analyzing murderers and criminals – is going to settle into her own life of crime has me intrigued. The physical manifestation of her trauma will likely pan out in bloody ways throughout Season 3, and it should make for some compelling storytelling while also giving.

During his interview, Dario Scardapane also brought up a great advantage to this narrative decision with Heather, and it makes me even more pumped. As the showrunner explained:

There’s certainly a level of unpredictability, especially since this storyline slightly diverges from the comics, as that female Muse’s alter ego is Morgan Whittier. So the creative team certainly has some room to play around. It’ll, of course, be a while before fans get to see this new version of the killer character in her bloody glory. For now, though, let’s all just hope her formal debut will be worth the wait.

Well, the latest chapter in the Man Without Fear’s journey in the Marvel Cinematic Universe has come to an end. Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 is officially in the books amid the 2026 TV schedule, and it certainly went out with a bang. The season finale is filled with massive developments, including some major changes for Matt Murdock and Wilson Fisk (Kingpin). On top of all that, though, the episode also treats fans to the return of a beloved MCU character and, quite frankly - not that Frank, though - I’m pumped about it.

A Powerful MCU Hero Makes Their Long-Hoped-For Reappearance In The Born Again Finale

Going into the season, something that excited fans was the return of Jessica Jones (once again played by Krysten Ritter), and she finally appeared just weeks ago. With Jones back in the fold, of course, MCU lovers have also been hoping to see a hero with close ties to the hard-drinking P.I.

Then glory be, the closing moments of Born Again’s finale, “The Southern Cross,” show Jones within her Alias Investigations office alongside her daughter, Danielle. Who walks in to join the pair? None other than Luke Cage, who’s Jessica’s partner and Danielle’s father.

The reemergence of Cage, who’s played by the returning Mike Colter, comes after a recent update on his status. In the season’s penultimate episode, Jones confronts the enigmatic Mr. Charles about his attack on her home, and it’s during that chat that Charles reveals Luke is doing assignments for him overseas. The bulletproof hero’s time doing “the Lord’s work” seems to be over as, once he’s reunited with Jessica and his daughter, he tells the former he’s done completing tasks for Charles, who’s since recruited Benjamin Pointdexter.

Cage’s return makes sense for a few reasons and, ahead of this episode, Colter had been discussing the prospect of playing Harlem’s hero again. While the actor didn’t confirm whether he’d actually return, he stressed that it was the right time for the former Defender to show up again. Now, of course, before this cameo, some fans may have seen leaked set photos that revealed Cage’s presence in Daredevil: Born Again Season 3. Regardless of that, though, I’m just psyched that he’s officially back after a seven-year absence.

How Could Luke Cage Figure Into The MCU Moving Forward?

As previously mentioned, Colter’s Cage appears in leaked photos from the set of Born Again Season 3, yet fans still don’t know exactly how he factors into the story. I can only speculate as to what lies ahead for the hero though, at the very least, it feels like a given that he’ll spring back into action as a do-gooder. On that note, it would be particularly interesting to see him co-found Heroes for Hire alongside Danny Rand (a.k.a. Iron Fist).

The prospect of seeing Luke back in the superhero game is fun, but I also want to see the writers further develop his dynamic with Jessica. Additionally, it’d be great if Daredevil’s creative team could fill in some blanks on Cage since he established himself as the sheriff of Harlem and last appeared in the Jessica Jones series finale. All in all, I’m hopeful that Mike Colter’s Cage will continue to evolve in interesting ways and, I remain giddy over the fact that he’s officially back in this continuity.

MCU fans hoping to see a lot of bone-crunching and bullet-whizzing action only have a little while longer to wait until the one-shot special The Punisher: One Last Kill punches a hole through the 2026 TV schedule. The upcoming Marvel TV release brings the skull-shaped spotlight back to Jon Bernthal’s Frank Castle for his first (and maybe last) standalone MCU storyline. The actor’s been hyping fans up for his vigilante’s post-Daredevil: Born Again return, and his latest post drew fun comments from former Walking Dead co-star Sarah Wayne Callies and a DCU fave.

Bernthal took to Instagram to share a black-and-white pic of himself that could easily be a visual stand-in for the term “world-weary,” with this as his caption:

Though it wasn't an official still of Frank Cast, and he wasn't actually decked out in any Punisher gear, Bernthal's caption likely resonated with Daredevil fans. It's the way Frank explained to Matt that they're two sides of the same coin, with Punisher's willingness to kill being the line that Daredevil vows not to cross. But just as any given Sunday can give an underdog football team a win, one bad day could be all it takes to shatter Matt's moral compass.

But since the lawyer currently has his hands full with Wilson Fisk, there's no need to bring him further along in this story. Instead, here's a comment shared by Bernthal's former Walking Dead romantic interest, to put it in the least complicated way possible, Sarah Wayne Callies:

The Lori Grimes actress likely wasn't playing into the Daredevil reference there, and it seems apaprent she was playfully poking fun at Jon Bernthal's mug. He does kind of look like the exact opposite of TWD's ever-popular quasi-villain Shane, whose head was nearly clean-shaven when he was taken out of the equation.

Another standout comment on the actor's post came from another machismo-centric action star who somewhat recently beat the dogsh-t out of a superhero, only on the DCU side of things. I'm referring to Peacemaker and Creature Commandos star Frank Grillo, who chimed in on Bernthal's post with:

• FRANK GRILLO: you wanted to be a tough guy. 😎🥊🥊🥊

The thought of Frank Grillo and Jon Bernthal facing off on-screen is the kind of thing that 1,000% needs to happen before either of them calls it quits on stunt-heavy action. It's legitimately shocking that there aren't already 12 examples of it across TV and cinema. (Or even a video game.) And you can imagine that the fans reacting to the above went straight to Grillo's MCU history, calling for a Crossbones Vs. Punisher fight. Does it matter that Crossbones is dead? Nope.

If all it takes is one bad day to turn into Jon Bernthal, then I hope I have 100 of them in a row. But it definitely won't be a bad one on Tuesday, May 12, when The Punisher: One Last Kill is available to stream via Disney+ subscription. (And then don't forget he'll also be reteaming with Tom Holland for Spider-Man: Brand New Day on July 31.

Welp, another key Daredevil: Born Again character has bitten the metaphorical dust, with Michael Gandolfini’s Daniel Blake facing the lethal ire of Wilson Fisk’s most unhinged enforcer, Buck Cashman. But we’re not here to mourn would-be villains with last-second moral pangs. We’re here to question the existence of an official D:BA still that seemingly shatters all semblances of reality by having Charlie Cox’s Matt Murdock in the same frame as an actual Daredevil comic collection.

It’s a concept that’s too nutty to believe was done on purpose, but also a detail that doesn’t seem like it could possibly make it into episodes or press materials without being clocked and removed by editors. Especially not sitting right in front of the lead actor’s face, blind though his character may be. Check it out below.

The courtroom shot is a still released by Disney that isn't marked as being a behind-the-scenes pic, and each of the actors' faces seem to play into the serious tone of Karen's skewed fight for justice. So why does Matt have the Marvel Premiere Collection for Frank Miller and David Mazzucchelli's Daredevil: Born Again on the desk in front of him instead of paperwork related to Karen's case?

More to the point, HOW DOES THIS BOOK EXIST IN THE MCU?!? And why hasn't Matt been showing it off to everyone he knows? Presumably, while saying, "Look at how cool and amazing this is that someone made a comic about our lives that is scarily accurate!"

Just in case anyone out there is skeptical about the book in the show being the same as the trade paperback, here's an easy comparison.

There are pens and what appears to be a Post-It note atop the book, but otherwise, it looks exactly the same, and now I'm forced to believe that this is some kind of multiverse nexus point that will inevitably shatter the reality of this Disney+ show in a way where all that's left on Earth is former Daredevil comic scribe Chip Zdarsky.

Admittedly, I didn't clock the Born Again TPB showing up within the episode itself, even when reskimming through, although it's entirely possible I just missed it a quick shot where it could be seen. But if it for sure wasn't in the final cut of the streamed episode, that kind of makes it even weirder if there were other images to go with.

This is probably the wildest thing I've witnessed so far from any 2026 TV shows, and I cannot imagine that we'll be seeing simliar instances in any upcoming Marvel TV Shows. Although I guess it could legitimately happen as an actual plot point in Season 2 of Wonder Man, even if that in-universe character isn't the same as the Marvel hero.

The Marvel Cinematic Universe is constantly expanding, both on the big screen and through projects streaming with a Disney+ subscription. The latter is the case for Daredevil: Born Again, which is deep into its second season currently. And I got a chance to speak with showrunner Dario Scardapane and EP Sana Amanat about not only bringing back Krysten Ritter's Jessica Jones, but also introducing Matthew Lillard's Mr. Charles in this new batch of episodes.

Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 has been pretty incredible, with the stakes being majorly raised since the first season. Fans who spent years watching the Marvel movies in order have loved seeing characters from the Netflix MCU shows return, including Jessica Jones. When speaking with the pair of producers ahead of the new season, I asked them what was more exciting between the two characters. Scardapane got real, telling me:

As if I needed another reason to be hyped for the final episodes of Season 2. It looks like sparks are going to fly when Jessica and Mr. Charles meet face to face, and with two wildly charismatic actors playing those figures it feels like just about anything could happen. Although Dario Scardapane seems particularly thrilled about bringing Lillard to the MCU.

While I've got issues with Jessica Jones' powers being nerfed in Born Again, I'm still thrilled to see my favorite member of The Defenders finally back on my screen. It turns out that this was always part of the plan for the show, as Scardapane went on to tell me:

There you have it. The showrunner was unable to pick which actor he was more excited to see join Daredevil: Born Again, and the season truly has been an embarrassment of riches so far. We'll just have to wait and see how things end up for both Jessica and Mr. Charles in the final entires of Season 2.

Executive Producer Sana Amanat also spoke about what it was like to see Krysten Ritter return as Jessica for the first time, as she told me:

She's not wrong. Seeing Jessica and Daredevil kicking ass together in Episode 6 was awesome, and that was just the start of their reunion. Only time will tell how often we'll see Krysten Ritter's character moving forward, as well as where Matthew Lillard's Mr. Charles will go. The show has hinted she's working for Julia Louis-Dreyfus' Valentina, so he could end up being a major presence in the shared universe as a whole.

The second season of Daredevil: Born Again is nearly done, and the show certainly hasn’t disappointed when it comes to bringing intensity amid the 2026 TV schedule. Anyone who may be questioning that should simply look to the latest episode, which marks the death of a major character. Fans may have questions about what that death will mean for the Man Without Fear and others in the immediate future. However, the departing star is already weighing in with thoughts on a potential return (and I don’t agree with their take).

What Did The Daredevil: Born Again Alum Say About Their Character Possibly Returning?

It’s no secret that Born Again has already been renewed for Season 3, meaning Disney+ subscription holders will be able to look forward to more adventures featuring the Devil of Hell’s Kitchen. Obviously, details on what’s being planned for that season are being kept under wraps, though some actors may or may not have been glimpsed in set photos. What those photos don’t spill, however, is whether or not Ayelet Zurer will reprise her role as the recently deceased Vannsa Fisk. When asked about that, Zurer had this to say:

Vanessa is injured during the season’s fourth episode after a glass shard pierces her skull, marking a tragic development for her husband, Wilson Fisk a.k.a. Kingpin. After undergoing surgery, Vanessa awakens in the hospital and seems to be herself while speaking with Wilson. She eventually, however, goes into shock and dies, much to her spouse’s dismay. Following that episode, which also includes Vanessa-centric flashbacks, Zurer is tempted to believe her character will reappear somehow, but I don’t think it’s necessary.

Why I’m Not So Keen On This Born Again Character’s Return?

Make no mistake, there are plenty of ways in which showrunner Dario Scardapane and the writers could easily find a way to bring Vanessa back into the fold. The character could appear through additional flashbacks or as figments of Kingpin’s imagination. Or she could actually return to the land of the living in a more grandiose way. (I mean, Charlie Cox even pitched Franklin “Foggy” Nelson being resurrected with the help of The Hand).

I honestly don’t expect the writers to actually bring Vanessa back to life, so to speak, which is comforting but, at this point, I think it’s better not to even use flashbacks or mental images. This latest episode feels like the ideal send-off for Vanessa, especially considering that it features plenty of flashbacks dedicated to her. There’s a truly finite feeling that accompanies this installment, and that differs from the feeling I had after Foggy was killed during Born Again’s pilot.

Of course, I can understand Ayelet Zurer mourning her character, and she did just that alongside Vincent D’Onofrio (her on-screen hubby). Nevertheless, I don’t feel much of a need for Vanessa to appear in any capacity again and, honestly, her absence alone could surely cast a major shadow over her husband’s path moving forward as well as the show as a whole.

The second season of Daredevil: Born Again is past its halfway point amid the 2026 TV schedule, and the drama is certainly palpable. Matt Murdock’s crusade for justice continues and, in the meantime, Wilson Fisk (a.k.a. The Kingpin) fights his own battles as the mayor of New York City. This week’s episode is quite heavy thematically, as it marks the death of a major character. At the same time, it does provide some bittersweet joy by way of the return of beloved character Franklin “Foggy” Nelson.

Born Again Delivers A Major Death That Will Impact Another Key Character

Last week, viewers saw Kingpin get dealt a tragic blow when his wife, Vanessa, was critically injured due to a glass shard being lodged into the side of her head. That unfortunate turn of events was set in motion after Bullseye attempted to attack Fisk following his charity boxing match win. (It was such a big development that even The Watcher apparently had his eyes on it.) This week' s installment sees Vanessa being rushed to a hospital, where she undergoes a lengthy emergency surgery.

As a whole, “The Grand Design” serves as something of a tribute to Vanessa, who also appears in flashbacks set during the era of Netflix’s Daredevil. Fans see glimpses of her time working at the art gallery shortly before meeting Fisk. (There’s even a bit of added context regarding the Rabbit in a Snowstorm painting). In the present day, Vanessa’s surgery appears successful, though the surgeon suggests Fisk be cautiously optimistic about her recovery. Eventually, Vanessa wakes up in her room and seems as vibrant as ever.

Vanessa eventually asks Fisk to tell her about the time they met, which he happily obliges to. The warm scene takes a cold turn, however, when Vanessa begins to go into shock and, within a matter of moments, she passes away, leaving Wilson devastated.

Now that Kingpin is without the woman he loves, it’s easy to assume he’s not exactly going to handle it well.

Foggy Nelson Returns As Part Of A Sentimental Subplot

The anticipated return of the deceased Foggy Nelson comes in the form of flashbacks in this latest episode, which show Foggy and Matt’s time as young paralegals saving money for their own firm. As part of this subplot, the two pals are tasked with overseeing a case that coincidentally involves a childhood friend/bully of Foggy’s named Lionel McCoy, who refuses to take a plea deal in his case. However, Foggy and Matt eventually discover a legal technicality that would free McCoy, and the two pals argue over the merits of freeing him.

In time, though, Nelson convinces his buddy to pursue the route that will free McCoy instead of getting the plea deal as directed. Lionel’s situation is also linked to Kingpin, who wants him silenced. To get that done, Fisk’s right-hand man, the late James Wesley, hires an old associate, who turns out to be Buck Cashman (Fisk’s aid in the present day). However, when Buck arrives at Lionel’s to do the deed, he’s already left after having been convinced by Foggy, who also gives him the money he and Matt were saving for their law firm.

Although this subplot may seem inconsequential in the long run, it does perfectly exemplify why Foggy is such a beloved part of this mythology. His ideals and sense of empathy have been grounding elements, and they’re very much missed. But, right now, there’s more to be concerned about in the present day, given the potential impact of Vanessa Fisk’s death.

In 2015, the Daredevil TV series premiered on Netflix, following 12 years after Ben Affleck brought Matt Murdock to life in the Daredevil movie. Now in 2026, Charlie Cox’s Matt and Vincent D’Onofrio are still going strong as the Man Without Fear and Kingpin, respectively (amidst other familiar faces), thanks to the revival Daredevil: Born Again, which is exclusively streaming on the 2026 TV schedule with a Disney+ subscription. However, the original Daredevil series was first conceived as two movies, and creator Drew Goddard explained why that plan changed.

Goddard, who most recently wrote the film adaptation of Andy Weir’s Project Hail Mary, addressed his past Daredevil work while stopping by Happy Sad Confused, as part of the press rounds for the 2026 movie release. He recalled spending time with Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige shortly after the company gained the Daredevil rights back from then-20th Century Fox, saying:

Marvel movies have always been geared to appeal to the wide demographic possible, hence why almost all of them have been rated PG-13. It was only in 2024 that the franchise finally delivered an R-rated flick in the form of Deadpool & Wolverine, so going into such territory in the early 2010s with Daredevil would have been a no-go. Maybe if Fox had managed to get a Daredevil reboot off the ground, that now-defunct studio could have pulled it off, as it would go on release the first two Deadpool movies and Logan in the mid-late 2010s, all R-rated.

As for Drew Goddard’s original pitch for two MCU-set Daredevil movies, they basically ended up being what was depicted in the Netflix series’ first two seasons. As he explained:

Daredevil kicked off a run of more adult-oriented TV programming at Marvel, including Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Iron Fist, The Punisher and The Defenders miniseries. So while some may disappointed we never got another Daredevil movie, one could argue that going with the Daredevil TV show’s existence was more meaningful to the superhero media landscape. Besides, along with Charlie Cox’s Matt Murdock anchoring Daredevil: Born Again and also popping up in She-Hulk: Attorney at Law and Echo, that version of the character also got a little bit of big screen time thanks to his cameo in Spider-Man: No Way Home. There are even rumblings he may appear in Spider-Man: Brand New Day this July.

Daredevil: Born Again is back on Disney+ for Season 2, and it was a thriller of an opener. I was captivated by Matthew Lillard's performance as Mr. Charles, and I'm eager to see what's ahead when Jessica Jones arrives, but there's something else on my mind after the Season 2 premiere.

"The Northern Star" ended with Matt Murdock looking like his run as Daredevil was at an end, until all of Fisk's task force men in the room were killed by projectiles from outside. While I initially assumed Matt received an assist from Frank Castle, a knife planted in front of the hero revealed it was actually Bullseye who saved him. As much as my head was spinning from the reveal that one of his enemies saved him, @BULLSEYESOLOS on X echoed my thoughts perfectly as I wondered the same as the credits rolled:

While Dex's message was helpful for revealing the twist to the viewers at home, I also wondered if Matt would catch on in between now and the next episode of Daredevil: Born Again. Did Cherry have to read it to him after he was untied? Did he leave the scene and have no idea it was there? Maybe he collected it and Karen told him later?

There are a lot of theories over on X, with some challenging the idea that Matt couldn't see the message Bullseye left on the knife. Others are more hung up with how he had a knife that said that in the first place, as well as other things:

These are all great questions, and I have to pose another one. If Bullseye had enough time to step in and save the day, why didn't he do it sooner? He could've saved Matt a good deal of pummeling, not to mention poor Cherry who seemed to be suffering some medical event with his spiked heart-rate. Or was it specifically the unmasking itself that made him act?

Jokes aside, there are some big questions I have about Bullseye in Daredevil: Born Again. As the comments mentioned above, he's clearly following Daredevil, but then again, that wouldn't be so weird if he were up to some villainous revenge plot. What makes it weird is that he just acted as Matt's guardian angel, which is a strange way to treat someone who threw you off a building for killing his friend.

I'm not sure why he'd be motivated to work with Daredevil, and if he'd even want his help. If Charlie Cox, the actor, is still emotional about Foggy's death, I think it's fair to say the character he's playing still hasn't forgiven the villain for what he's done. I assume we'll learn more as the season goes on, unless of course, Matt left the scene completely oblivious that he was helped by Bullseye.

Daredevil: Born Again drops new episodes on Disney+ on Tuesdays. Wilson Bethel did tease that Bullseye would be different in Season 2, so I'm eager to see what that means as the season continues.

Bring out the Hell’s Kitchen Orchestra, or whatever the most applicable performance troupe would be to celebrate the arrival of Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 in all its dark and gritty glory. (Dark, save for Wilson Fisk’s suit collection, naturally.) We’ve got all manner of anticipation and expectation for what’s to come from Matt Murdock’s return for the 2026 TV schedule, especially after all the critical acclaim that’s come thus far. As it often goes, I can think of few better ways to celebrate a long-awaited show than blabbing all about it as it’s happening.

Hell Yeah, Starting Off With That Black Suit And A Baton Beatdown

The textbook way to start a season of Daredevil is for our friendly neighborhood lawyer vigilante to show off just how well-trained he's been. The fact that he can do it on a boat rocking in the water is even more impressive, as just saying it makes me slightly queasy. Not quite as queasy as seeing a dude's arm break over Matt's shoulder, but close.

I also feel like that wall of water would have killed anything in its path, but props to our guy for surviving it.

Matt And Karen's First Scene

Oh, it was definitely a choice to have both Matt and Karen out of breath throughout their first conversation, right before they start smooching.

Sure, what they're saying is important, and what Matt did to botch that boat shipment is gonna piss WIlson Fisk off. But kissing in the dark cannot be held back for later.

Matthew Lillard Like A Mother

Not the best first scene, sure. But the blasé way he lets this line go is worth it after saying he'd fly up to handle things.

• "I need the miles."

Anyone who talks about airline miles in the first minute you meet them is probably a mega-turd. So I cannot wait to see Lillard at his turd-iest.

Okay, Mr. Charles Is A Boss Kinda Boss

People having the nerve to get in Wilson Fisk's face (rightfully or not) are quickly shut the f--k down as soon as Lillard's Mr. Charles enters the room and foreshadows an ominous but very clearly laid out phone call.

While Mr. Charles is around, nobody messes with Fisk. How will having a spook from Langley affect the more Kingpin-ish side of his agenda and the people who chose to work with him? I'd eff with Fisk specifically to hang out with Mr. Charles, I think.

Tony Dalton Rules, Dr. Glenn Does Not

As if I wasn't already disgusted enough by Margarita Levieva's Heather Glenn for everything that happened in Season 1, she's now suffering PTSD-related hallucinations and is blatantly lying on psychological evaluations. FOR SHAME, DR. GLENN.

John Benjamin Hickey's D.A. Is One More In An Ocean Of Sleazes

This episode is really hammering home how corrupt nearly everyone in positions of authority are, save for Counselor Karen McDuffie and retired detective Cherry.

Matt Almost Definitely Just Doomed Cherry

Anytime a character says something like, "I'll tell you all about it when I definitely see you tomorrow," you know they're gonna die. Matt telling Cherry "That's why I'm gonna keep coming to you" has the same effect to me. Hopefully he doesn't die in vain.

Loving This Fake Kingpin Mess

This telecast takeover by a masked Kingpin is one of the things I've been most excited to see, and I'm glad he's just as disruptive and lo-fi as expected. It's kind of stupid, and I adore it.

Ugh, Powell Sucks Worse Than Dr. Glenn / Anyone Ever

I'm not sure how much sympathy we're actually supposed to have for the pair of ship crew members who were aware of what they were shipping, but even if they were almost the worst people in the world, the worst person in the world would still be Hamish Allan-Headley's crooked-as-a-lightning-bolt "cop" Powell. Nothing against the actor, who makes it super easy to hate this hateful monster, but geez, what a waste of space.

I Want Mr. Charles To Have Dinner With The Fisks All The Time

The combination of Lillard's free-flowing energy and Vincent D'Onofrio's reserved menace, buoyed by Ayelet Zurer's calmer menace, is quite the elixir. I'd like to see this three commentating on Monday Night Football and juding on Top Chef as well.

Karen's Wig Game Is Still At Both A 10 And A 0.5 Simultaneously

I mean, sometimes you gotta go out in public and the only thing you have are your dirtiest pants. And then there's Karen's decision to go out in her wigs.

It was only in one of Matt and Karen's post-sparring memories, and isn't indicative of anything legitimate, but still.

Cherry Takes A Beating, But Keeps On Ticking

Dammit, Matt. (And probably others.) Cherry got his a-- handed to him until Matt shows up, but at least he didn't die. And he also rattled off a trio of solid "gruffy ol' bastard" lines with:

• "You hit like a kid."
• "No, I'm not okay!"
• "Sure could take a punch a lot better ten years ago."

He's gonna be sore for weeks though.

Matt's Identity Discovered! Until It Isn't!

I was legitimately shocked as could possibly be when Matt's hesitation got him pummeled to the point where his mask was pulled off of his face. My mind started to race, thinking about where this story could go if everyone knows that....

Wait, no, those guys are all dead now.

Bullseye Saves The Day, And So What, Was Everybody Just Hanging Out Outside Of Cherry's Place?

Just when it seemed like New York City's most prominent lawyer-vigilante could no longer keep both personas separate, Matt is saved in a most brutal fashion by an offscreen Wilson Bethel's Benjamin Poindexter, otherwise known as Bullseye.

Would Bullseye not have killed those cops if they hadn't unmasked him? Why was he creeping around out there to even be the hero in that moment? Was he watching Matt and Karen kiss earlier like we were? Ewww, Dex. (But I get it, I guess?)

Also, I get that this dude has impeccable accuracy and all, but how would he have thrown that knife from outside the building and still had it stick straight up and down like that?

ALSO also, does he just have a bunch of knives with different messages on them, or is it only about receiving thanks with this guy?

Woo, Bullseye!

Final Thoughts On The Episode

• I want to see more message-knives from Bullseye.
• I don't like how easy it is to root for Daniel and BB's burgeoning ship-ness, given Daniel's icky career path, but Michael Gandolfini and Genneya Walton look genuinely happy to be around each other.
• Tony Dalton better not get killed off in jail because of what Dr. Glenn did. (I know Jack Duquesne is the character's name, but it's Tony Dalton or nothing from here on out.)
• I can't wait to see the height of Mr. Charles' powers and influence. I want this guy to be able to make the ball drop in Times Square on June 22.
• Instead of getting Foggy back for real, we're just going to see him via Matt's trauma, which is...maybe not as good. Especially if the show tries to mirror Matt's with Dr. Glenn's Muse visions.
• I already need Karen's red wig back.

The Marvel Cinematic Universe is a giant franchise, full of colorful superpowered characters. The shared universe (which is streaming with a Disney+ subscription), is expanding again thanks to the release of Daredevil: Born Again Season 2. Stars Charlie Cox and Vincent D'Onofrio are back as Daredevil and Kingpin respectively, and recently spoke to CinemaBlend about why they keep coming back to their signature roles.

Fans who spent years watching the Marvel movies in order were thrilled when characters from the Netflix Marvel shows started being brought back into the shared universe. Born Again Season 2 is arriving shortly and Season 3 is already filming, so it's clear that the Daredevil characters aren't going anywhere. As you can see in the video above, I recently spoke to Cox and D'Onofrio about their ongoing tenures in the MCU. I asked if the show's lack of real superpowers is why they stay so invested in the story, with the latter actor telling me:

He's not wrong. Charlie Cox and Vincent D'Onofrio have been playing Matt Murdock and Wilson Fisk since back in 2015, so they've had many hours of television to explore their characters' inner psyches. Both the original Daredevil show and Born Again do deep dives on the motivations of their leading characters, and have street-level fights that feel brutal and ultra realistic. This stands out when compared to most MCU projects, which have a bigger scale but aren't quite as intimate.

Critics have been praising Born Again Season 2, and fans will be able to see the show for themselves when it premiers on March 24th. In our conversation, D'Onofrio went on to speak about the emotionality of Daredevil, which stands out among the rest of the shared universe. In his words:

This give and take is a big reason why fans remain so invested in Daredevil years later. Fisk and Murdock's fates are tied, and they have a complicated connection that puts them into conflict in a fascinating way. And there's no telling what craziness Born Again Season 2 will bring.

Charlie Cox is back in Daredevil's suit for the new season, but it sounds like he loves the human aspect of playing Matt Murdock. In the same interview, he echoed D'Onofrio's comments, offering:

As previously mentioned, production on Season 3 of Born Again has already begun. So this pair of actors will get even more room to explore their characters and their unique dynamic together. And I can't wait to see what's coming next as they continue to battle over control of New York City.

Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 premiers March 24th, and new episodes will arrive Tuesdays as part of the 2026 TV schedule. With Fisk Mayor of New York, the stakes are very high. And smart money says it's going to be an explosive season.

The Marvel Cinematic Universe is a well-oiled machine at this point, constantly releasing new content in theaters and streaming with a Disney+ subscription. Longtime fans who have spent years watching the Marvel movies in order were thrilled when characters from the Netflix Marvel shows started popping back up, starting with Charlie Cox's Daredevil in Spider-Man: No Way Home and She-Hulk: Attorney at Law. With these figures taking center stage in the shared universe, I think it's time that Rosario Dawson's Claire Temple gets the same honor. What's more, it doesn't even feel that impossible if you think about it.

What we know about Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 has been limited, but one thrilling detail is that it will include Krysten Ritter's return as Jessica Jones. And while some fans want to see Luke Cage and/or Iron Fist back on the screen, I'm more invested in seeing Claire Temple back first. Hear me out.

Claire Temple Was The Netflix Marvel Show's Connective Tissue, And She Deserves To Return

During their time airing for those with a Netflix subscription, the Marvel shows were kept on an island away from the movie characters/stories. But that's changed in recent years, with Spider-Man: Brand New Day's first trailer featuring Punisher and Daredevil: Born Again getting a second season on Disney+. It remains to be seen how Jessica Jones will factor into Season 2, but with the doors open for these characters to return, I think Rosario Dawson has more than earned another chance at Claire Temple.

Similarly to how Nick Fury recruited the OG Avengers throughout Phase One of the MCU, Claire served as the connective tissue between the Netflix Marvel shows. The nurse was a friend to New York's vigilante heroes, often coming to rescue when they needed medical help. Plus, there was her romantic connection first with Matt Murdock, and then with Luke Cage. She even trained in hand-to-hand combat in Iron Fist.

We're seeing the Marvel stories set in New York City becoming more and more connected, both on the small and big screens. Given how connected Claire was to so many characters, it only seems logical that she pop up eventually. It just feels right now that the former Netflix crew is part of the larger MCU family.

From a logistical perspective, Rosario Dawson's return to Marvel also makes sense. She clearly has a good relationship with Disney thanks to her role in The Haunted Mansion and ongoing tenure in Star Wars as a live-action Ahsoka Tano. So I have to assume the studio would be all too happy to continue this collaboration and help the MCU feel like a more interconnected place in the process.

Of course, there's been no indication that there are any plans for Claire Temple in the MCU. The last we saw her was in Luke Cage Season 2, but she famously appeared in all of those Netflix Marvel shows aside from The Punisher. Since Born Again is already filming Season 3, so it feels like just about anything could happen... particularly in Hell's Kitchen.

Rosario Dawson's tenure in the MCU can be streamed on Disney+, which will also be the home of Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 starting March 24th as part of the 2026 TV schedule. Fingers crossed that one day my girl Claire comes back to the screen for more adventures.

It’s been nearly a year since we last saw Charlie Cox’s Matt Murdock on a collision course with Vincent D’Onofrio’s Wilson Fisk, culminating in quite dour fashion to set up Daredevil: Born Again Season 2. This season is all about resistance, so snatch up that Disney+ and Hulu bundle now at a discounted price if you’re not a subscriber, because if these first reactions to early screenings are any indication, Marvel fans aren’t going to want to miss out on this.

In addition to the Daredevil and Kingpin actors reprising their roles with much of the Season 1 cast, Krysten Ritter will appear as Jessica Jones, Lili Taylor is joining as the New York governor, Matthew Lillard will clash with Kingpin as Mr. Charles, Tony Dalton as Jack Duquesne/Swordsman and Jack Mulhern as simply “Philip.” Vincent D’Onofrio has been hyping Season 2 as “fucking brutal,” and that’s an opinion that’s shared by critic Christopher Gallardo who posted on social media:

Darren Movie Reviews posts that after seeing half of the Season 2 episodes, they can confirm Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 is Marvel’s “most compelling television series to date” with excellent writing, strong performances and “exhilarating” fight scenes. Here’s what they have to say:

Many passionate fans have seen all of the Marvel movies in order, so when they’re excited enough to say Daredevil: Born Again’s second season is among the best the franchise has to offer, that’s a pretty good sign. Daniel Baptista of The Movie Podcast certainly has high praise for the eight-episode season, posting:

The relevance to current events does make for a bit of a rough watch, according to Brandon Norwood of The Film Blerds, but that doesn’t take away from the quality of the story, which he says includes a great redemption arc for one character. Norwood writes:

Nexus Point News declares Season 2 an “upgrade,” writing that Charlie Cox and Vincent D’Onofrio give “powerhouse performances,” but don’t sleep on a show-stealing Deborah Ann Woll as Karen Page. Their post reads:

We can’t forget about Wilson Bethel’s Bullseye, either, as Aeron Eclarinal of The Direct calls him the MVP of this second season, while echoing the previous critic’s sentiments about the action sequences. Eclarinal’s post says:

The first reactions to Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 are full of words like “brutal” and “mayhem,” with many reporting that the series goes darker this season than the first. Marvel fans appear to have plenty to be excited about — especially with Season 3 already in development.

The Marvel Cinematic Universe is a giant place, one that's constantly expanding thanks to new projects arriving in theaters and streaming with a Disney+ subscription. The latter is about to get a big update thanks to Season 2 of Daredevil: Born Again, which is premiering on March 24th. Charlie Cox is once again back as the title character, and recently spoke to CinemaBlend about what it's really like in his signature costume.

Fans who spent years watching the Marvel movies in order have been following Cox's journey as Matt Murdock, both on the small and silver screens. As you can see in the video above, I had the chance to speak with him and Vincent D'Onofrio ahead of Born Again's Season 2 premiere, where I asked about how his iconic action scenes might feel different with and without the suit and cowl. He told me:

Points were made. On top of giving Matt protection in battle, it sounds like the Daredevil suit also gives Cox some peace of mind. Because even if he ends up taking a hit or two while filming action sequences, he's protected. I guess this is a case of art imitating life.

While fans are hoping to see Daredevil in upcoming Marvel movies like Spider-Man: Brand New Day, it's unclear if that'll actually happen. But Born Again Season 2 will get eight new episodes, and will follow as Kingpin has seized control of New York. Later in our same conversation, Cox shared the less-than-glamorous side of suiting up, telling me:

Yikes. Despite how cool Charlie Cox looks suited up as Daredevil, the reality of wearing that costume all day is another story entirely. And it sounds like once he starts sweating, he ends up stuck in a moist suit for the rest of the work day. Since he's so covered up, I'm not sure anyone can blame him for sweating underneath the cowl.

Despite how wet things might be, Cox looks epic any time he's in a version of Daredevil's costume. He's got a new one for Season 2 of Born Again, one that's darker than its predecessors. Although now I'm going to be thinking about the reality of wearing it all day as I watch new episodes.

Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 will premiere March 24th as part of the 2026 TV schedule. We'll just have to see how much crazy action happens throughout this new set of episodes.

Charlie Cox’s Daredevil has gone through a long, strange trip in the Marvel Cinematic Universe – and I’m not simply referring to the hero’s hardcore in-canon struggles with crime lords, ninjas, serial killers, and much more. Through three seasons of his own solo show and an underwhelming crossover event in the form of The Defenders, the character was viewed as the greatest success of the early MCU-on-Netflix experiment… and then for a period, it looked as though he had basically been erased from the canon.

He made an awesome return with his surprise cameo in Spider-Man: No Way Home, followed by quick but killer appearances in She-Hulk: Attorney At Law and Echo, and then finally, the Man Without Fear’s comeback was fully cemented with the premiere of Daredevil: Born Again Season 1 in early 2025.

When you add it all together, Marvel fans have spent more time with Daredevil than we have with Iron Man, Thor, Captain America and Hulk in all of their movies combined – and having recently made the choice to rewatch his entire MCU journey, I can reaffirm that his full adventure to date has been one of the most compelling in the canon.

His battle with his inner-demons is ever fascinating, not to mention his stunning clashes with Vincent D’Onfrio’s scary powerful Kingpin and Wilson Bethel’s psychotic Bullseye. After my marathon, I’m feeling more amped than ever for DD’s return in the upcoming Daredevil: Born Again Season 2… but I do have a couple of notes about things I need to see.

Why Do We See So Little Of How Daredevil Views The World? Bring On The World On Fire!

One doesn’t need to be a comic book expert to understand that one of the coolest aspects of Daredevil as a character is the special way he experiences the world. Blinded in an accident as a child but gifted extraordinary other senses in exchange, his immaculate understanding of his surroundings comes from hearing so powerful he can tell from your heartbeat if you’re lying, smell so strong he knows what you ate for dinner the previous night, and touch so sensitive that he can perceive changes in air density.

Seeing all that he does with that sensory input is phenomenal… but I also can’t help but feel mostly underwhelmed by how it’s been presented visually over the years. In Daredevil Season 1, all the way back in 2015, the idea was introduced that his “vision” consists of what he describes as a “world on fire,” and I’ve never understood why filmmakers haven’t done more to explore that idea visually.

We haven’t actually seen a director explore the “world on fire” since the episode with that title (shout out to filmmaker Farren Blackburn), and I don’t really understand why at all. Whenever he is specifically shown “using” his powers – which is to say while trying to listen for a specific noise or scanning an area for threats – it’s typically depicted with close-ups of the hero’s face, some head tilts, and some clever sound design. We never get the chance to see things as Daredevil sees things, and it feels like a massive missed opportunity for some killer visual style.

In Born Again Season 2, I wholly expect the continuation of a number of cinematic traditions that have been maintained for the character – chief among them being single-shot fight sequences that see DD brawling with a bunch of guys in a hallway and/or stairwell. As excited as I am to see slick martial arts choreography and cinematography to match, however, I’m going to feel let down if another run with the character plays out and we don’t get the chance to revisit the special way that Matt Murdock perceives his surroundings.

I Need Much Less Skirting Around Canon And At Least One Real Spider-Man Reference

Part of the reason why Daredevil’s journey through the Marvel Cinematic Universe to date has been so weird is because of the strange relationship that has always existed between the character and the larger canon. During their original run, the Marvel Netflix shows were touted as being set within the larger continuity, but the stories always played on the fringes: Avengers tower was absent from the New York City skyline and it became a punchline that Earth’s Mightiest Heroes would be mentioned via reference instead of by name (i.e. Hulk is just “the green monster” and Thor is “the guy with the hammer”).

An improvement in this arena came about with Born Again Season 1 (supported by the run following in the wake of the aforementioned She-Hulk and Echo, as well as the Hawkeye limited series), but I’m ready for the show to quit with the pussyfooting in Season 2 and for the canon to more fully commit to the bigger MCU picture.

I’m not calling for any A-lister cameos or major crossover storylines; I just want some kind of authentic acknowledgement from the show that other MCU events are playing out in parallel. For example, we know that the upcoming Spider-Man: Brand New Day is going to feature a significant time jump from when we last saw Tom Holland’s Peter Parker at the end of Spider-Man: No Way Home – so what about having a character provide an off-handed comment about the wallcrawler coming to somebody’s rescue in Queens? (Something at least more significant than Kingpin mentioning someone in a “spider costume” during a televised press conference).

I'm also very much open to some kind of commentary on the series that references the third act of Thunderbolts a.k.a. The New Avengers, which saw residents of New York City abducted into a supernatural darkness courtesy of Lewis Pullman’s Sentry a.k.a. Void.

To date, I would qualify Daredevil’s run in the MCU as one of the franchise’s greatest accomplishments, even with all of the various ups and downs behind the scenes – and if the right choices are made, I’m hopeful that Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 can be the biggest success with the character yet when it debuts for Disney+ subscribers on March 24.

Fans appear excited for Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 for a few reasons, and one of them is the return of Jessica Jones, who’s once again being played by Krysten Ritter. It’d been speculated that the super-powered private investigator might make her way back into the Marvel Cinematic Universe at some point, and it’s great that the time has finally come. Of course, the show’s creative team is remaining tight-lipped about the extent of Jones’ role, though the show runner did just drop a key detail about his approach to Jessica.

Dario Scardapane – who serves as showrunner and EP on Born Again – seems to understand just how big of a responsibility it is to reintroduce Jones back into the MCU. As fans would probably imagine, Scardapane and his collaborators put a lot of time and care into making sure Jessica would be the same as fans remembered her. Despite that, Scardapane recently revealed to SFX Magazine on CinemaBlend that he and his team also “leaned into” one major element for the character’s comeback:

In some ways, it’s honestly hard to believe Jones hasn’t appeared in the MCU since the final episode of her eponymous Netflix series, which ended after three seasons in 2019. That Melissa Rosenberg-produced superhero (which is now streamable with a Disney+ subscription) concludes with Jessica discarding her plans to leave New York and staying to continue her agency. People, of course, can certainly change with the passage of time, so it makes sense that Scardapane would want to highlight the ways in which Jones has evolved.

Rosenberg established Jones as a no-nonsense and boozy investigator who wasn’t exactly keen on being a traditional superhero. Despite her seemingly cold exterior, though, Jessica did exude a level of empathy for other people as well as a desire to do what was right. As Scardapane explained, it was Rosenberg’s handling of the character that encouraged him to try and bring her back into the fold:

With that, fans should still expect Ritter’s character to maintain at least some of her key attributes. Marvel TV head Brad Winderbaum previously emphasized that it was important for Jones to maintain her sarcastic wit, which will come into play during her interactions with Matt Murdock. Seeing her in the Born Again trailer is cool enough, but I can’t wait for her official return during the show. Also, as fans learn more about how Jessica has changed, I’m curious as to whether there will be updates on people in her inner circle like Malcolm Ducasse and Jeri Hogarth, who was dealing with the effects of ALS.

Rumors of a Jessica Jones spinoff series are already making the rounds, but right now, Scardapane will only say that he and his team just hope to “get an opportunity to integrate this character more into this slice of the world.” At this point, I’m just excited to see what they do with her long-hoped-for reintroduction to the MCU. Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 will make its debut amid the 2026 TV schedule soon, and fans have plenty of reasons to be excited. Among the biggest developments that’s set to occur is the long-awaited return of Jessica Jones, who will once again be played by Krysten Ritter. Jones’ reappearance has certainly been a long time coming, and I’m glad it’s finally happening. At the same time, though, I can’t help but hope that another notable heroine joins this particular show at some point in the future.

Which Super-Powered Character Am I Hoping To See On Born Again?

The past few years have seen a diverse array of younger heroes enter the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Shang-Chi, Kamala Khan (Ms. Marvel) and Riri Williams (Ironheart) are among the relative newcomers, and they’ve served as a breath of fresh air for this sprawling continuity. There’s another new player who’s made her presence known as well, and she has ties to Daredevil’s corner of the MCU. I’m talking about Maya Lopez a.k.a. Echo, who’s played by Alaqua Cox.

A skilled fighter, Maya was introduced back in 2021’s Hawkeye as the leader of the Tracksuit mafia, and she sought revenge against Clint Barton for killing her father during his stint as Ronin. It was also revealed that Lopez – who’s deaf and an amputee – found a surrogate father in Wilson Fisk a.k.a. The Kingpin. That relationship soured, however, after Lopez learned it was Fisk who orchestrated her father’s death. While confronting Fisk, Maya shot him in the eye.

Lopez’s story continued in her eponymous 2024 spinoff series, Echo, and that remains her latest MCU appearance to date. On that show, Maya reconnected with her family in her hometown of Tamaha, Oklahoma and crossed paths with Fisk once more. The show ended with Maya awakening her supernatural-based, Choctaw powers – including enhanced strength and mental healing – and donning her own superhero suit to defeat Fisk’s forces.

I spoke with Alaqua Cox a while ago, and she’s eager to play Maya again. Like her, I’m interested in seeing more of this character, and Born Again would be the perfect place for her to reappear.

Why Should Daredevil: Born Again Bring In Echo?

There are three reasons why Maya Lopez would be a great fit for Born Again. Firstly, her inclusion would work from a narrative standpoint, considering her connection to Kingpin and intolerance of his wrongdoing. Since Matt is seeking allies to challenge Fisk, Lopez would be the perfect person to have in his corner. Maya would, of course, have to come to Matt – who once fought her as Daredevil – in New York. That’s because Lopez’s whereabouts have been unknown since Echo, which ended with her leaving Tamaha.

As for the second reason, Lopez is just the kind of gritty character that fits perfectly within DD’s corner of the MCU. Like the Man Without Fear, Maya has no problem getting violent, especially for the right reasons. In this regard, she’d organically flow right into Born Again, a show known for its bone-crunching, skull-crushing action.

Lastly, I’d argue that Maya is simply a character who deserves more time to shine and grow within this expansive franchise, and it feels like it’s time for her to make a comeback. There are so many MCU characters with ambiguous fates right now, from Moon Knight to the Eternals. It’d be a shame if Cox didn’t reprise Lopez at some point, especially since Daredevil would be a particulary great place for her to return to action.

Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 premieres on March 24 and will be available to stream with a Disney+ subscription. In the meantime, stream the first season along with Echo on the previously mentioned streamer.

Like many other fans, I was pleasantly surprised by how good Daredevil: Born Again’s first season was, considering the entire shebang was a “cobbled-together Frankenstein” (per the showrunner) that had to be reconstructed with a set number of reshoots available. Regardless of how anyone felt about those eps, all involved are sharing abundant praise for the upcoming Season 2 and saying it’s what the show should have been from the start, and it looks like the pre-release surprises aren’t over just yet, with quite the interesting new bit of casting news.

Previous murmurings about Season 2 pointed to a new character joining the fray going by the name of Philip, with the idea that he would start off a series regular with the potential to return in future seasons. Now, Nexus Point News is reporting that actor Jack Mulhern will be bringing his skills to the Disney+ series to portray the aforementioned “Philip."

Mare Of Easttown And Boys In The Boat Vet Jack Mulhern Has Joined Daredevil: Born Again

Jack Mulhern got his start on Netflix’s The Society, and returned to the streaming service several years later for the miniseries Painkiller, while also popping up in Wu-Tang: An American Saga and for a series regular role in the award-winning HBO mystery drama Mare of Easttown. On the film side, Mulhern co-starred in the horror prequel Pet Sematary: Bloodlines, in George Clooney’s biographical drama The Boys in the Boat, and appeared in the Noah Segan’s 2026 movie release The Only Living Pickpocket in New York, which hit theaters in January.

If the actor is indeed portraying the rumored Philip, he’ll be portraying a character who’s been described as a New Yorker who is intelligent and feisty. He’s someone who presents as charismatic and approachable, but harbors a deep-down rage that will no doubt rise to the surface in one way or another.

According to the outlet, Jack Mulhern’s contract for Daredevil: Born Again is said to feature the options for his character to possibly return in a future season, which implies he’ll be more important to the story than just a minor background character. So who could it be?

This New Character Is Likely The Son Of Wilson Fisk (Or One Of Them, At Least)

At this point, the two most promising theories regarding Jack Mulhern’s new character point to two of Wilson Fisk’s sons from the comics, or at least the villainous persona one of them took on. The first would be Richard Fisk, whose 1970s origin story involves him being sent to a school in Switzerland, where he grew to hate his criminal father and his seemingly limitless power.

While Richard Fisk initially took on the villainous alter ego of The Schemer, he rose up for a 1984 comic arc as The Rose, a mid-level criminal entity working on Kingpin’s turf at the manipulative behest of the Hobgoblin. For the most part, Richard opposed his father’s actions, but didn’t harbor any additional heroic elements to keep him out of the criminal underworld altogether.

The Rose alter ego was adopted comic characters beyond Richard, which is pretty much the norm across decades of existence for certain characters. But one later adopter that fits the purposes of this story is Rose IV’s Dr. Philip Hayes, who obviously shares the same first name as the character Mulhern was cast to play. So does this mean the actor will actually be playing this version of Rose, or was “Philip” indeed just a clever nod hinting at Richard Fisk?

Another potential character for Mulhern to portray is Butch Pharris, the Fisk offspring who was the creation of the creative team of Chip Zdarsky and Marco Checchetto for 2019's Daredevil #13. Though if Born Again's showrunner did indeed opt to bring Butch into the show, I cannot imagine they would stick faithfully to the source material.

Butch Pharris' backstory includes being school-age friend with Mike Murdock, who's the imaginary-turned-real twin brother of Matt Murdock. And I just don't see the Disney+ series introducing magical, reality-breaking ideas like this into the fold so early on. That's like a Season 8 idea.

So I'm all in on Jack Mulhern taking on the role of The Rose, especially if it's true that Kingpin will be losing his mayoral duties in Season 3, which could pave the way for his offspring to either take over the city, or to challenge him in running the underworld.

Daredevil: Born Again is set to hit the 2026 TV schedule with its Disney+ premiere on March 24, 2026.

Daredevil: Born Again received positive reactions from fans and critics alike upon its debut in early 2025. That reception alone represented a win for the Marvel Studios production, which went down a somewhat rocky road during its development process. Showrunner and executive producer Dario Scardapane even recently went as far as to collectively refer to those episodes as a “cobbled-together Frankenstein.” Additionally, Scardapane shared his take on what it was like working on the upcoming second season with his team.

Originally announced in 2023, Born Again originally had Matt Corman and Chris Ord on board as its showrunners, and several episodes were filmed later that year. Marvel Studios head honcho Kevin Feige was reportedly displeased with what he saw and a host of creative changes were implemented. As part of that, Scardapane – who cut his teeth in the MCU as a writer and producer on Netflix’s The Punisher – was brought in as showrunner. Scardapane recalled that experience to SFX Magazine on CinemaBlend, sharing the following:

Scardapane and co. really had to come in and pick up the pieces, so to speak, and chart out a path for Matt Murdock and co. using the material they had and their own ideas. The difference in creative visions is evident within Season 1 and, for me personally, it made that inaugural season somewhat uneven. Of course, in fairness, the producers were in a tricky spot, given the behind-the-scenes changes.

Still, the creative team seemed to make the most of the situation. Plus, as Scardapane tells it, that storytelling experience did ultimately have a silver lining:

There seems to be quite a bit in store for Born Again Season 2, which Scardapane has described as “fucking brutal.” After the first season’s finale, Matt will be working with others, including the dynamic Karen Page, to take down Mayor Wilson Fisk a.k.a. The Kingpin. At some point, Matt will also reunite with a fellow Defender, the returning Jessica Jones. Simultaneously, Fisk will be fighting external forces to hold onto his political power. All in all, based on further comments from Scardapane, it sounds like writing this season was freeing:

Most of the writers’ room came back from season one, and the crew too. Now there were no limitations in that we didn’t have to write into existing footage, we didn’t have to finish out storylines that had already been started. The only thing that we had to take care of was the central Fisk vs Daredevil engine. It was great. You’ll see in some of these episodes that we were able to really let it rip in a way we might not have been able to last season.

If the footage that’s been released from Season 2 so far is anything to go by, Dario Scadapane and his colleagues did indeed “let it rip.” As a fan of the show, I’m excited to see what’s in store. When Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 premieres, Matt Murdock will find himself in a dire situation, as he seeks to combat the machinations of New York City Mayor Wilson Fisk (a.k.a. Kingpin). Murdock will, however, have allies fighting alongside him, including longtime friend Karen Page. The Marvel Cinematic Universe’s version of Page has long been a favorite amongst fans, including myself. Now, I’m even more hyped for her return due to the series’ showrunner sharing his take on Page’s importance as a character.

There was fan disappointment early into Born Again Season 1’s development cycle when it was confirmed that Deborah Ann Woll’s Karen was one of the OG characters who wouldn’t appear heavily within the show. However, that all changed due to DD’s creative overhaul, which was spearheaded, at the time by newly named EP Dario Scardapane. SFX Magazine on CinemaBlend recently caught up with Scardapane to discuss Season 2. And it was during that chat that the producer recalled the discussions he had about Karen’s role early on:

Page’s presence during the first season of Born Again (streamable with a Disney+ subscription) was indeed limited. The series premiere sees her mourning the murder of good friend Franklin “Foggy” Nelson and later attending the trial of the man who murdered him (Benjamin Poindexter/Bullseye). Karen, who’s living in San Francisco, later returns to NY at the end of the season to help Matt find legal evidence from the late Foggy to sink Fisk.

As a fan, I greatly appreciate Scardapane’s passion in trying to keep Karen involved within Season 1’s narrative. What I also love is the former Punisher producer’s take on how he and Woll view the character in general, which makes me both excited and intrigued for what’s to come in the second season:

Karen is indeed more than a love interest or a run-of-the-mill supporting character. She’s someone who’s meant to serve as Matt’s equal in several ways. In the time since she debuted in the original Netflix series, Page has proven her merit as a journalist and an individual with a keen knowledge of legalese, which is why she’s now a lawyer. As for how Dario Scardapane and Deborah Ann Woll collaborated on the character’s further development, the former said:

Karen has been glimpsed a few times in Season 2 promotional photos and footage thus far (and even appears to sport red hair at some point). It seems she’s going to be in the trenches with Matt along with more than a few New York citizens who want Fisk taken down. Someone else who may or may not be a key ally in this fight is the returning Jessica Jones (Krysten Ritter), who I’d love to see share the screen with Page.

Fans still have to wait a few weeks for Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 to arrive, but Scardapane’s comments on Karen and others give hope that he and his team have been thoughtful about how to approach the story and characters. The season premieres on March 24 as part of the 2026 TV schedule.

For everyone who loves watching butt-whooping action on the small screen, I’d wager Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 is high on the list of must-watch 2026 TV shows. It’s a return to fisticuffs form for Marvel Studios following the delightfully atypical MCU series Wonder Man, and the cast seems far more excited to talk about this sophomore outing than they were about Season 1, given all the behind-the-scenes overhauls. Case in point, the Kingpin himself, Vincent D’Onofrio, has some mighty strong opinions to share.

D’Onofrio took the stage at Rhode Island Comic Con, alongside co-stars Deborah Ann Woll and Wilson Bethel, for a superhero-sized Q&A, and as one can imagine, Season 2 was quite a hot topic. Bethel, whose semi-villainous Bullseye will take on a larger role, hyped the new episodes by drawing a comparison to the first eight eps and saying they didn’t feel as much like the Netflix series like they could have. At which point D’Onofrio threw in his two cents, saying:

I don’t think anyone would throw doubt into the Full Metal Jacket vet’s face, but we are thankfully already aware of how awesome the future looks thanks to the Season 2 trailer that not only gave us Krysten Ritter’s Jessica Jones in all of her revived glory, but also our first look at Matthew Lillard’s new character Mr. Charles, and that weirdo Kingpin puppet-esque figure.

Not that D’Onofrio was finished. He continued by amusingly throwing the original iteration of Season 1 under the bus, calling out how much time was essentially wasted by filming a bunch of footage that would be deemed unworthy of making it into the final cut. In his words:

I can’t imagine a phrasing that would crush me more to hear as a creative than D’Onofrio saying they “had to live with” the Season 1 material that was already filmed and couldn’t be altered. It’s like a life-altering injury or a disease. Only one that was way more fun to deal with for viewers than anything painful. In fact, I kinda liked Season 1 of Born Again more than at least one of the OG seasons.

But that doesn’t mean I think the actor is off-base or full of it; it’s the exact opposite. If D’Onofrio wasn’t exceedingly impressed with Season 1, and feels this amped-up about Season 2, that just implies fans will explode with excitement over everything that’s coming. Not that we even know exactly what that is just yet. But Jessica Jones is back, so it’s gonna be amazing.

To that end, it’s rumored that Season 2 will lead to another Jessica Jones spinoff, this time of the MCU-branded variety. Elsewhere, Mike Colter’s Luke Cage comments make it sound like there are talks to bring him back for one or more projects. So I think this means we can take comfort in knowing Matt Murdock won’t be killed off anytime soon. Check out the teaser trailer below!

Fans will be able to make their own judgment calls about Daredevil: Born Again's second season when it debuts via Disney+ subscription on Tuesday, March 24, at 10:00 p.m. ET.

With the critically acclaimed Wonder Man serving as the first upcoming Marvel series to hit the 2026 TV schedule, fans won’t have to wait too long for Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 to make its streaming debut (via Disney+ subscription). The studio finally dropped our first major look at the new season, and the teaser-trailer reveals Jessica Jones’ return, a few unnerving shots of smiling Bullseye, a surprisingly Foggy flashback, and the long-awaited arrival of Matthew Lillard’s MCU debut.

Lillard knows a little something about role secrecy, coming off of security-ridden turns in Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 and the upcoming horror movie Scream 7. Sadly, fans will still be waiting a while yet to learn more about his mysterious character “Mr. Charles,” since the footage didn’t exactly lay out his full biography. But I have a few questions to throw out into the ethers now that we’ve at least seen him in this world, along with all the other new Season 2 shots.

Is Mr. Charles Even His Real Name?

Any time a high-profile new character is introduced with just a first name and an honorific, I’m going to be slightly suspicious that the moniker is an alias that’s shielding an even more exciting reveal coming down the pipeline. That’s absolutely the case here, since no one in Daredevil: Born Again would have a reason to only refer to this man as “Mr. Charles,” unless it’s more of a heightened persona such as Daredevil or Kingpin.

Fans have thrown out plenty of guesses for who Lillard’s character could end up being, though his “no lycra” comments limit those guesses to non-costumed entities. Given the “Charles” of it all, combined with the upcoming MCU X-Men movie, Professor X has definitely come up, though that would require some wild storytelling skills to work around Patrick Stewart’s return for Avengers: Doomsday, and I doubt Marvel would bring him to Hell’s Kitchen under these circumstances. So my money is on the name being totally phony.

Whose Side Is Mr. Charles Actually On?

While details are fleeting, Mr. Charles is described as being a political antagonist, specifically an adversary to Vincent D’Onofrio’s Wilson Fisk, with Matthew Lillard saying he’s someone “completely new to Hell's Kitchen.” But even if we take that with a grain of salt and assume that he is indeed an anti-Fisk individual, that’s not exactly irrefutable proof that he and Matt Murdock would see eye to eye, or whatever idiom is best used here. In the same way that vigilante justice isn’t aligned with local or federal authorities, Mr. Charles may be on his own side of the law here without any allies.

He doesn’t appear to be wearing an official uniform of any kind in the teaser, and he also doesn’t appear to be entirely alone in whatever setting he’s in. That doesn’t prove anything, of course, but sets up entirely different expectations than seeing him sitting in a massive chair in a lush office smiling wickedly. Personally, I only want Lillard to play a villain when he can chew the shit out of the scenery, so if there’s no room for that here, I hope Mr. Charles and Matt are on equal and agreeable footing.

Is Matthew Lillard Behind That Disturbing Kingpin Mask?

One of the most baffling images to pop up in the new teaser is the above shot of someone dressed up as a caricature of Wilson Fisk, making keen use of his less affirmational comic book alias. It's hard to tell what we're even looking at here. Is it an average-sized adult wearing a mask and suit? Is it more of a smaller-sized puppet being controlled by others? Or could it even be an image generated by AI within the context of the show's plotline? More importantly, though, is Mr. Charles responsible?

Given the similar 4:3 perspective ratio, it appears as if this Kingpin figure is connected to whatever signal frequency suddenly sends Matt into a pained frenzy. Fans quickly picked up on how similar it looks to the infamous Max Headroom broadcast hijacking in 1987, so it's certainly possible that more than just a visual message will be imparted to those watching. Although I'm more inclined to believe that imagery doesn't actually show up on any TVs in the real world, and is actually just inside Daredevil's head. (I fully buy into Matt only thinking of TV in pre-16:9 formatting.)

In fact, one could even speculate that Matthew Lillard specified not wearing lycra to throw fans off, only to reveal that he did get into costume for Daredevil: Born Again, even if it isn't the most traditional get-up. Even if he didn't don the mask, however, I'd still suspect Mr. Charles of being the one behind it.

Hopefully we won't need to wait until the final episode of Season 2 to get answers about who Lillard's character is. But we'll definitely have to stay patient until the first episode gets here. At least we now know that Daredevil: Born Again will be back in our lives on March 24, 2026.

On thing I’ve love as a fan is how Charlie Cox has embraced the role of Matt Murdoch, aka Daredevil. The man loves talking about transforming his body for the Marvel role, and how he nearly instantaneously knew the Netflix gig was his way back in the day. Charlie Cox goes so out of the to maintain the character for his kid, he’ll even call him – in full costume – when he’s filming the series, which you can now catch with a Disney+ subscription.

He says his son really believes his daddy is a superhero, and I just can’t get over how adorable it must be having that relationship with your kid while he's still capable of that sort of wide-eyed wonder. Here’s what he told his Marvel co-star in an interview with Variety about dressing the part for his 5-year-old son while he's filming.

Be still my beating heart. I'm sure Charlie Cox is perfectly happy with his wife, but I hope she knows what kind of dad catch she got there. He's maybe learned from the best though. Other hero dads have gone to great lengths for their kids before.

In fact, some celebrity parents have gone quite a bit further than FaceTiming, as Ben Affleck one time moved mountains to borrow the Batman costume for his son Samuel’s birthday. Spider-Man: Brand New Day's director also recently admitted he's brainwashing his kid early, and got his son's first word to actually be "Spider-Man." That could be happenstance or commitment, but it's a cute story either way.

In the interview in 2025, Marvel’s Joe Locke mentioned the last time he’d seen Charlie Cox with his young son, the kid was such a fan he'd even been wearing a Daredevil shirt. While seeing daddy in the red 'fit is not abnormal for his kid, it's also clearly helped gently nudge his kid into becoming a big fan of upcoming Marvel projects at a young age.

As for Cox and the Daredevil look, his is one of the superhero suits that has only improved over time. He said in an interview that when Daredevil shifted to Disney+ he didn’t realize the suit would be changed up at all for She Hulk, explaining the fun way he found out change was coming at the time.

No matter which suit he's rocking, it sounds like he will do so upon Facetime request, sometime in between snack time and bedtime. 10/10, no notes.

2025 gave us a new team of Avengers, and they're presumably teaming up with Steve Rogers and many others to take on Robert Downey Jr's Doctor Doom when Avengers: Doomsday arrives. It sounds like a lot of heroes will join in the fight against the supervillain, and maybe even join the ranks of the legendary hero team in the process. Given that, could Daredevil be one of those who step up and join the team?

Charlie Cox was a recent guest at GalaxyCon New Orleans and was asked about the possibility of the Hero of Hell's Kitchen becoming an Avenger. The actor, whose Daredevil: Born Again will premiere Season 2 for those with a Disney+ subscription on March 4th, was asked how he'd feel about the character joining the Avengers, and said the following (via Popverse):

I agree with Charlie Cox's reasoning, though we've seen Daredevil become an Avenger in Marvel comics. Let's also remember that Cox appeared as Matt Murdock in Spider-Man: No Way Home, and that She-Hulk and Daredevil: Born Again take place in the MCU. I have to imagine all that was done with a purpose, and to allow Marvel to bring the popular character into the upcoming ensemble feature.

At the same time, I can also see Daredevil having a role in the upcoming Avengers movies while not necessarily joining The Avengers. After all, even at the peak of his abilities, he's not capable of some of the wild feats of other members of the team.

That said, non-powered supers like Black Widow and Hawkeye were part of the team from the start, so it's not like everyone needs to be as strong as The Hulk. Charlie Cox would be a great get for old-school Marvel fans who hated that he was never included in the MCU in his previous series, despite there being valid reasons for that.

Does Avengers: Doomsday need Charlie Cox to have a significant role in the movie? Considering all the big names, past and present, that are returning for this movie, I'm going to say no. I don't imagine he'll outrank big names like Patrick Stewart, Chris Evans, or David Harbour in terms of screentime. Even so, I'd love him to have a cameo of some sort. Just don't expect him to confirm anything without Marvel Studios confirming it first!

As mentioned, the new season of Daredevil: Born Again is set to kick off Season 2 on Disney+ on March 4th. Avengers: Doomsday isn't due until December 2026, so I have a feeling that if he is going to be in that movie, we'll find out during that season.

One of the most highly anticipated upcoming Marvel movies is Spider-Man: Brand New Day, which will pair Tom Holland's title character with other heroes like Punisher and Hulk. What we know about Spider-Man: Brand New Day is super limited, so fans have been filling in the blanks about what director Destin Daniel Cretton might have up his sleeve. Fans who spent years watching the Marvel movies in order are thrilled about seeing Jon Bernthal's Punisher on the big screen for the first time, but they're also hoping Daredevil gets to join the fun. I mean, how cool is that? While Charlie Cox has denied he's got a role in Brand New Day, fans don't necessarily believe him. Because aside from Daredevil living and fighting crime in NYC, Matt Murdock cameo'd in the last Spider-Man movie as Peter Parker's lawyer. And I have a feeling the chatter about Daredevil also joining the fray isn't going to stop until the movie is released and we know once and for all if Charlie Cox appears.

Aside from Matt Murdock appearing as Peter Parker's lawyer in the last Spider-Man movie, the discourse about Daredevil are also a result of Punisher's role in the mysterious blockbuster. Punisher and The Man Without Fear are deeply connected in both the comics and the MCU so far. They got to reunite in Daredevil: Born Again, so it seems logical that they both would pivot to the big screen together. But if that happens in Brand New Day remains to be seen.

While Spider-Man, Punisher, and Daredevil are all New York-based heroes, it should be fascinating to see how Mark Ruffalo's Bruce Banner/Hulk factors into the action. He hasn't been seen since She-Hulk: Attorney At Law, and fans are wondering if he might return to his Savage Hulk form throughout its runtime.

All will be revealed when Spider-Man: Brand New Day hits theaters on July 31st as part of the 2026 movie release list. Hopefully we get the first footage and some more information sooner rather than later.

Honestly, sign me up. There are a ton of street-level heroes in the MCU's New York City, so it's kind of surprising that we haven't seen more cross pollination throughout various Marvel shows and movies. While Charlie Cox's Matt Murdock cameoed in Spider-Man: No Way Home as Peter's lawyer, these characters never suited u and fought crime together. And ever since then fans have been campaigning to see these two fan favorite vigilantes to share the screen together.

Fans who spent years watching the Marvel movies in order are thrilled that the stars of the Marvel Netflix shows are returning, including Daredevil and Punisher. The latter is confirmed to finally hit the big screen with the next Spider-Man movie, and fans are curious about how the various heroes will factor into its mysterious story.

Daredevil is just one of many rumored characters that fans think could pop up in Spider-Man: Brand New Day. Fans are debating who Sadie Sink might play, with popular choices being Jean Grey and Mary Jane Watson. There are also rumors about Florence Pugh's Yelena having a surprise role, which would be another wild crossover. But she's been seen in New York before, in both Thunderbolts* and Hawkeye.

Marvel seems to be all-in on Charlie Cox's hero, who had cameos in No Way Home and She-Hulk: Attorney At Law before taking center stage in the series Daredevil: Born Again. The latter show has Season 2 on the way, and a third entry is already in development at Marvel.

Despite just how much content we're getting featuring Matt Murdock, some fans are waiting for the Man Without Fear to pivot to the big screen and kick some ass. It feel inevitable that Daredevil will eventually show up in theaters, whether or not he actually has a role in the next Spider-Man movie.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day is currently expected to arrive in theaters on June 31st as part of the 2026 movie release list. The next two Avengers movies will follow, and with the multiverse in play it seems like just about anything could happen... including an appearance by Daredevil.

Daredevil: Born Again, was a solid hit with its first season, and since the show already had a Season 2 planned, fans won’t be waiting three years for the story to continue, like we have with so many other streaming series. And that won’t be the end of things, as the show has also been renewed for a Season 3, and now we know that at least one major villain will be surviving Season 2.

Since we haven’t even seen Season 2 yet, there’s no way of knowing what could be in the cards for a third, but we now know that Bullseye will be on deck. In a recent appearance at the Nerdtropolis Convention (via Comicbook.com), Wilson Bethel, who plays Bullseye in the MCU, confirmed that when the show goes back into production he will be there. Bethel said…

Bullseye went through quite a lot in the first season of Daredevil: Born Again. He was hired by Vanessa Fisk to kill Foggy Nelson and one of Foggy’s clients. Daredevil nearly kills Bullseye himself, and the villain ends up in prison, before escaping and attempting to take his revenge on the Fisk’s.

Bullseye will be, I assume, in the wind as Season 2 gets underway, likely still trying to kill the Fisks. Bethel did talk a bit about what we’ll see from Bullseye in the new season. It will include getting to understand the character’s psychology a bit more, as well as giving us what Bethel calls the “coolest” fight sequence of the series so far. The actor continued…

The first episode of Daredevil: Born Again had a pretty impressive fight scene between Daredevil and Bullseye, and if we add the original Netflix series run into the mix, Daredevil has had several really impressively designed and choreographed fight sequences during its run. This means the bar is pretty high for great fight scenes, but if we’re going to see the coolest one with Bullseye so far, I can’t wait.

Bullseye isn't likely to be the only character returning in Season 3. It was recently hinted that Krysten Ritter, Jessica Jones, who will make her Marvel return in Season 2, will have a future beyond that. So seeing her in Season 3 is quite likely, unless there are plans to give her her own show again. Daredevil: Born Again will debut with your Disney+ subscription on March 4, 2026.

There are few sureties in life, but just like death and taxes, at least we all have something positive to look forward to every year, as we are once again on the cusp of upcoming Marvel movies set to hit the 2026 movie schedule. The first of those films will be the highly anticipated Spider-Man: Brand New Day, which, rather surprisingly, will see Jon Bernthal’s Punisher hit the big screen for the first time. This has led to rumors that Charlie Cox will show up as Daredevil, and he just addressed that talk.

What Charlie Cox Said About Rumors That Daredevil’s In Spider-Man: Brand New Day

Something else that’s as certain as death, taxes, and Marvel films is rumors about who’s going to show up in those upcoming superhero movies. Seeing as how Jon Bernthal is bringing Punisher to the multiversal chaos of the Spider-Man: Brand New Day party, and his Daredevil: Born Again co-star Charlie Cox did show up in No Way Home (but only as legal ace Matt Murdock), we can all understand why folks would start rumors about Cox making another theatrical MCU appearance.

At the recent New York Comic Con, Cox spoke with the Phase Hero podcast and was asked how much he thinks fans actually know about what’s coming up on Born Again Season 2, and he said:

Ahhhhh…OK, Charles. Listen, if Mr. Cox says he’s not in the new Spider-Man movie, then we have no choice but to take him at his word. But, it’s worth noting that when his interviewer then asked about him possibly being in the mega-cast of Avengers: Doomsday, and he also replied with a smiling “no,” Cox was told point blank that he maybe couldn’t be trusted, and we all know why.

Aside from the obvious and aforementioned fact of him making a cameo in the previous Spidey outing, and Frank “Punisher” Castle’s R-rated nature being a relatively wild choice for the PG-13 franchise, well…y’all? Marvel stars lie a lot.

And, yes, they have to. They all need to hold on to nearly innumerable mysteries before, during and after filming in the hope of keeping the keys of Marvel movie secrecy alive. The process is so intense on each of the comic book property’s films and TV shows that we’ve heard Zoe Saldaña call franchise security a “cult,” Ironheart star Dominique Thorne reveal that she didn’t know Mephisto would show up until it was nearly time to film that big scene, and Channing Tatum say that he wasn’t even told how long he was set to film on Doomsday.

Basically, even if Cox is going to be in Brand New Day to some extent, he might not even know that at this point, so he has 100% plausible deniability when it comes to any and all rumors, and really can just concentrate on DD for the foreseeable future.

As a big fan of the Netflix era of Marvel series, specifically Jessica Jones, I was as excited as anybody when it was confirmed that Krysten Ritter would be bringing the character back for Season 2 of Daredevil: Born Again. Of course, as a fan, I certainly hope this isn’t the only time we see Jessica Jones in the MCU, and surprisingly, it looks like Marvel isn’t hiding the fact that she may be back.

Kristin Ritter and Marvel Studios producer Brad Winderbaum recently appeared on the Phase Hero podcast and discussed the future of Marvel TV and the return of Jessica Jones, specifically. When host Brandon Davis asked when we might see Jessica Jones: Born Again, Winderbaum was, while teasing, fairly open that we might very well see something like that, and maybe not before too long, saying:

Season 2 of Daredevil: Born Again is set to debut in early 2026, and while some reports indicated the show would end after that, more recently it’s been reported that Season 3 is in development. With that being the case, the possibility of Jessica Jones returning in a third season is certainly possible, so the character may be far from done.

However, it seems like there might be even more plans for the future of Jessica Jones, and those plans may be much more specific to her. When Krysten Ritter was asked if there was anything that she wished she’d been able to explore with the character during the original run on Netflix, the actress confirmed that there was, but refused to discuss details, as it sounds like she expects to still be able to do some of that. She said:

It's unclear if Ritter's statement that "we're going to be doing it" is a hope, an expectation, or a true-blue spoilery reveal, but regardless of which, it's clear that the woman who plays Jessica Jones doesn't think she's done, and that's a good sign for fans. It will certainly be interesting if we see more of Jessica Jones on Disney+, considering in many ways she pushed the limits of what Marvel was willing to allow more than any other character.

Needless to say, as a fan of Jessica Jones probably more than any of the other Netflix era shows, I’m quite excited at the possibility that we might be getting something new from the character following Daredevil: Born Again Season 2, and that whatever it is may be on the fast track. It feels like a safe bet that whatever it is, we won’t hear about until Season 2 of Born Again runs its course, but now I’m just that much more excited for the new season.

What a weekend for MCU updates, specifically when it comes to the slate of upcoming Marvel TV shows. Tons of big announcements were made at New York Comic-Con, such as new reveals for the already exciting VisionQuest cast to confirmation that Daredevil: Born Again will be back for Season 3 to the long-awaited release of Wonder Man's first trailer. It turns out Yahya Abdul-Mateen II’s new show will feature a former Daredevil star, though not from Charlie Cox’s shows, but the Ben Affleck era.

The forever great Joe Pantoliano is officially part of the MCU now, 22 years after co-starring with Affleck in 2003’s Daredevil as journalist Ben Urich. Regardless of one’s thoughts on that movie, and people DO have thoughts to put on blast at a moment’s notice, Joey Pants is certainly one of its high points, which pretty much goes for every project he’s ever been a part of. (He was in a Last of Us episode for like five minutes and delivered one of that show’s Top 3 performances.)

As it happens, Pantoliano’s involvement in Wonder Man didn’t stem from any Marvel panels, but rather NYCC’s Matrix reunion panel (via EW) where Laurence Fishburne was also present. The Memento and Sopranos vet went ahead and spilled those beans himself, saying:

He then went on to share a bunch of secrets about the show and how it’ll fit into the larger MCU, and spoiled the end of Avengers: Doomsday. All right, so none of that actually happened, since Marvel would likely have thrown him into an unmarked van after the panel for brainwashing purposes. In fact, he didn’t really share anything at all about his character, which obviously leaves the door open for any amount of speculation.

Unless Wonder Man is the kind of show that can pull the Deadpool and Wolverine move of bringing non-canonical comic book movie characters into the MCU — its real-world approach doesn’t make this seem likely — I don’t see how Pantoliano’s character can possibly tie back to his Daredevil role, given that Vondie Curtis-Hall’s portrayal of Ben Urich in Netflix’s Daredevil was seemingly canonized through Genneya Walton’s surviving niece BB Urich. But someone will find a way to make that make sense, surely.

Beyond the reveal, Joe Pantoliano had nothing but pleasant things to say about working with Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, without saying how long they worked together, though I hope it's for every single ep. He also shared that he was especially pleased to work with Sir Ben Kingsley, who refused to use the Bad Boys vet’s famed nickname. As Pantoliano put it:

I'm going to be so disappointed when his character's name in Wonder Man doesn't end up being Lord Joseph Trousers. Damn you and your genius ways, Ben Kingsley.

There are several high-profile entries on the schedule of upcoming Marvel shows, but few are as anticipated as Daredevil: Born Again Season 2. As it stands, the latest season of the superhero show is set to premiere on Disney+ in early 2026, and the excitement amongst fans is high. Even now, many are champing at the bit for some official footage, and it’s unclear as to when that’ll arrive. In the meantime, though, if you enjoy DD like I do, then you’ll probably be pleased to know we already have a great update on Season 3!

New York Comic Con took place this weekend, and some of the Born Again cast was on hand to promote Season 2. That included Matt Murdock himself, Charlie Cox, and Krysten Ritter, who is returning as Jessica Jones. Someone who unfortunately couldn't appear during the Marvel TV and Animation panel was showrunner Dario Scardapane. However, the EP had a good reason, as he revealed via an Instagram post that he and the writers are already hard at work on the third season:

Well, this is certainly music to my ears! It was previously confirmed that a third season of the Daredevil sequel series was being produced, though it was unclear as to when it would begin production. Now, at the very least, it would appear that the writers room is breaking down the story, and I wish I could be a fly on the wall in the room. That’s, of course, not possible, but I’ll surely settle for the sweet photos Dario Scardapane shared on IG. Check out his post in its entirety:

It’s comforting to know the third season of Born Again is currently taking shape. Of course, as fans, we probably shouldn’t get too ahead of ourselves, considering that only select groups of people, including attendees at NYCC, have seen Season 2 footage thus far. And, based on what’s been teased thus far, there’s a lot in store.

The second season of DD will apparently see the hero going underground as he seeks to take down Wilson Fisk a.k.a. The Kingpin. At the end of Season 1, Fisk solidified his political dominance as the mayor of New York. However, his position will be challenged by a new power player named Mr. Charles, who’s played by Matthew Lillard. Fan-favorite characters will also return, including Karen Page and even the now-deceased Foggy Nelson. Bullseye is set to appear as well, and it seems he’s been positioned for a major role, too.

What’s more is that Born Again Season 2 will also have ties to Spider-Man: Brand New Day, which is incredibly exciting. The street-level section of the Marvel Cinematic Universe seems to be thriving, and I look forward to seeing what Dario Scardapane and co. have up their sleeves. Marvel’s New York ground-level heroes are about to share more than just a skyline. Following the crossover tease that began with Spider-Man: No Way Home, it's officially been confirmed that Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 will directly connect with Tom Holland’s upcoming Spider-Man: Brand New Day. Those comments come from an executive, who shed some light on the collaboration process.

Brad Winderbaum, Marvel's TV head, has been present at New York Comic Con and, during the days-long event he spoke to Entertainment Weekly During the convention, Winderbaum -- who serves as an EP on Born Again -- revealed that both the show and Brand New Day are being developed with close coordination to ensure they fit seamlessly within the same world. He explained to the outlet:

That “same world” is a grittier, more grounded corner of the Marvel Cinematic Universe that’s quickly expanding. In regard to Born Again and Brand New Day, they share a key link in that Jon Bernthal's Frank Castle/The Punisher appears in both. While the two projects will maintain continuity, Winderbaum emphasized that they’ll retain their own identities, much as their comic book counterparts do:

This is an exciting development for fans who’ve kept up with all the Marvel Movies in order, and more specifically, the MCU’s street-level heroes. Daredevil: Born Again premiered earlier this year on Disney+, continuing Matt Murdock’s crusade against corruption and the Kingpin, played brilliantly by Vincent D’Onofrio, who seized control of New York’s government in Season 1’s brutal finale. The show's second season reportedly deepens the moral and political fallout of those events, and with Frank Castle getting his own special, the city’s vigilante scene is more volatile than ever.

Historically, when the Devil of Hell’s Kitchen and the Wall-Crawler of Queens teamed up in the comics, it was not just a team-up, but a test of morality and mutual respect. Their comic history is packed with potential inspiration. For example, Peter Parker, newly anonymous after the events of No Way Home’s ending, could get tangled in one of Wilson Fisk’s shady citywide crackdowns, forcing Matt Murdock to step in as both his lawyer and reluctant ally, which would be a callback to Amazing Spider-Man: Extra! #1, where Daredevil defended Spidey in court.

Or perhaps a darker spin, with a nod to Spectacular Spider-Man #27, where Spider-Man temporarily loses his sight and Daredevil becomes his literal guide, could fit perfectly in the more grounded, human storytelling Marvel’s street heroes are known for.

Realistically, a crossover in Brand New Day might not be about punching demons or saving Marvel’s multiverse. But it could be about two men trying to save New York in their own grounded ways, each one seeing (or sensing) the hero the other struggles to believe he still is. While Charlie Cox is far from confirmed to reprise his role as Matt in the film, there are so many exciting possibilities that, no matter how the upcoming Spider-Man movie impacts Daredevil: Born Again, my Marvel fan brain is working overtime.

Meanwhile, Tom Holland’s fourth solo outing, directed by Shang-Chi’s Destin Daniel Cretton, swings onto the 2026 movie schedule on July 31, 2026. It is reportedly set to pick up where No Way Home ended, resetting Peter Parker’s life. The movie is set to reunite him with Zendaya, Jacob Batalon, and a stacked supporting cast that includes Mark Ruffalo’s Hulk and the aforementioned Bernthal.

I'm excited to see the new Spidey film, but I'm also pumped to see the return of Daredevil: Born Again. Season 2 premieres sometime in March 2026, so be sure you have a Disney+ subscription so you'll be able to stream it when it arrives.

Fans who spent years watching the Marvel movies in order will recall how Netflix produced a number of shows in the MCU, and how some those stories/characters have been brought back recently. Daredevil: Born Again was one title that got this done, and a rumor about Season 2 claims a fan favorite character is finally returning to the shared universe: Elodie Yung's Elektra Natchios.

What we know about Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 is pretty limited, but it sounds like we're getting even more connections to the former Netflix shows. Fans are hyped or Krysten Ritter to return as Jessica Jones, and a rumor claims Elektra might join the fun too. This comes to us from scooper Daniel Richtman (via SuperheroHype), and I so hope this rumor turns out to be true.

For those who don't remember, Elektra debuted in Season 2 of Daredevil, before returning as one of the main antagonists of The Defenders. She and Charlie Cox's Matt Murdock had a romantic relationship, which was made complicated due to the crime and action of Hell's Kitchen. After her death in Season 2 was a shocker, but not as surprising as her being resurrected by Sigourney Weaver in The Defenders. She's been noticeably missing from the MCU for years, but it looks like that might change in the second season of Born Again.

The finale of The Defenders saw Matt and Elektra kiss ahead of their apparent deaths as Midland Circle collapsed on top of them. While Season 3 of Daredevil revealed that Cox's hero was still alive, we haven't seen or heard from Elektra in many years.

Ever since Cox returned to the MCU in Spider-Man: No Way Home and She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, fans have been wondering if Elektra might show up again. It sounds like the second season of Daredevil: Born Again will offer more connections to the Netflix shows. And if Jessica Jones is coming back, why not bring back Elektra as well?

Of course, Marvel fans know that the character did recently get some screen time in the MCU. But rather than Elodie, Jennifer Garner reprised her Elektra in Deadpool & Wolverine. Still, it would be epic to see the version of the character that appeared in Netflix's Marvel shows return to the screen. So we'll have to wait and see if this report about Born Again Season 2 ends up being factual.

It's thrilling that so many of the Netflix Marvel actors have been able to return to the shared universe years later. That includes Jon Bernthal's Punisher, who appeared in Season 1 of Born Again and will also have a role in Spider-Man: Brand New Day. Hopefully Elektra is getting the same treatment.

Season 2 of Daredevil: Born Again is currently expected to arrive on Disney+ in March of 2026. As we get closer to its release, hopefully the studio offers more information about what to expect from the series' return. Fingers (and sai) crossed that Elektra is included.

With so many rumors flying around regarding the upcoming Marvel movie Spider-Man: Brand New Day, it’s never easy to know which ones are totally legit, and which ones should be treated as nonsense. Will this be Tom Holland’s final Spidey movie? Will we see The Punisher getting a sidekick? Those answers and more are still up in the air without more proof, but I can’t deny how intrigued I am by newfound speculation about Charlie Cox’s Daredevil popping up in the webslinger’s next adventure.

One big reason why I’m not automatically dismissing these Daredevil rumors is that they’re not just lofty hopes with tenuous connections to Jon Bernthal’s involvement, and are instead inspired by recent changes to Charlie Cox’s upcoming commitments. As it happens, he was set to appear at San Antonio’s SpaceCon from October 24-26, and was at one point set for photo ops with former co-star Krysten Ritter, though that’s no longer happening, as noted in the post below.

As far as Charlie Cox's newest projects go, he was revealed to be part of the cast of a new sci-fi movie called Synthetic alongside Haley Bennett, but that report clearly points out that the project's Kentucky-set production has already wrapped, so there's no reason to think that the actor's convention absence is tied into that movie.

Obviously Cox could have signed on for any number of new projects, but it's the fact that he canceled an appearance for it that has fans' radars piqued. Because Jon Bernthal also canceled an upcoming con appearance, as seen below, and it isn't a giant leap in logic to think that the timing is aligned so that both can be filming together for Spider-Man: Brand New Day.

I think we can all agree that if all of this rescheduling is happening for projects that AREN'T Spider-Man: Brand New Day, then....well, that'd just be unfortunate, really.

To play devil's advocate right quick, it's obviously possible (or even likely) that Charlie Cox isn't joining any other big-screen MCU films, despite his Born Again co-star Bernthal making the transition from the upcoming Punisher Special Presentation to teaming up with Tom Holland's Spidey. The movie is already bringing in Mark Ruffalo's Hulk, the villain Scorpion and other surprises, so also throwing Daredevil into the mix for a single action sequence or two might be overdoing it for a movie with a solo hero in the title.

But that's enough naysaying, because this is a rumor that I'm extremely hopeful turns out to be true. Maybe I don't need to see Spider-Man, Punisher and Daredevil whopping some ass together in live-action, but it sure would give me something to look forward to in 2026. And why stop there with the speculation?

Is it possible that Krysten Ritter could also appear alongside Daredevil and The Punisher? We know she's already set to return to the role of Jessica Jones for Daredevil: Born Again Season 2, so is it completely out of the realms of reality to think that she might also be heading to London to film during this same window? Maybe, maybe not. But if anybody sees her on a plane with Mike Colter, sound the Defender alarm bells.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day is set to hit theaters on July 31, 2026.

The Marvel Cinematic Universe is always releasing new content, both in theaters and streaming with a Disney+ subscription. Fans who spent years watching the Marvel movies in order were thrilled when Charlie Cox returned to the shared universe with cameos in Spider-Man: No Way Home and She-Hulk before starring in the series Daredevil: Born Again. His parents tried to watch that series a few times, and struggled to find it thanks to the previous Netflix show and the movie starring Ben Affleck. Let's break the cute story.

Cox starred in three season of the original Daredevil series, as well as The Defenders. But Netflix dropped these shows when Disney+ was born, and fans worried that he might be done as the Devil of Hell's Kitchen. Luckily that wasn't the case, although the 42 year-old actor revealed on Jimmy Kimmel Live! that they struggled to watch his new series. He shared:

Since Born Again didn't go back and re-explore Matt Murdock's backstory, Cox quickly realized that his parents had watched the original Netflix series instead of the new one. Unfortunately, this wasn't their only stumble to finally watch their son in his second Daredevil TV series.

Later in that same talk show appearance, Charlie Cox went on to share the adorable way that his parents struggled to watch Daredevil: Born Again. Because after correcting them about accidentally re-watching the Netflix Marvel TV show, they accidentally turned on Ben Affleck's 2003 movie. As the actor put it:

Disney+ has a huge catalogue, which is great for comic book fans like me. Unfortunately, this created some confusion for Charlie Cox's family as they tuned in. Luckily their famous son was there to guide them to finding the third and final Daredevil project... even if he shared their technological difficulties while appearing on a popular talk show.

This issue might just repeat itself, since Cox will star in a second season of his MCU project. The finale for Daredevil: Born Again Season 1 left some some big questions regarding New York City. The fandom is eager to see how that shakes out, as well as Krysten Ritter's long-awaited return as Jessica Jones. We'll just have to see if Charlie Cox's family gets more accustomed to the Disney+ interface before then.

Cox's tenure as Daredevil/Matt Murdock is streaming over on Disney+. Season 2 of Born Again is expected to arrive in March of 2026, so we'll have to be patient while waiting for it to return to the small screen.

Speaking as a fan of superhero movies, I actually tend to prefer the source material in most cases. However, if there is one thing I believe most films (and a few TV shows) have handled better than the comics, it is making the heroes and villains look pretty good. The following are some essential examples of comic book characters whose screen iterations had better costume designs.

Batman (Batman Begins)

I believe the nighttime attire worn by Christian Bale's Bruce Wayne in 2005's Batman Begins outshines what the comics had delivered up to that point, not just in the aesthetic sense. I also love this Batsuit for its practicality and ingenuity, boasting features that include a fully bulletproof top to cover his entire torso and a cape that turns into wings when an electric current is run through it.

Captain America (Captain America: The First Avenger)

Steve Rogers' original costume from Marvel Comics is a bit hokey, with its winged helmet and feathery finish, but the outfit worn by Chris Evans' MCU iteration had a bit of an uneven history before its preferred final form. In his debut in Captain America: The First Avenger, he bears the stars and stripes on a tactical suit that thankfully made a comeback in the third act of Captain America: The Winter Soldier, following his ridiculous uniform from The Avengers.

Wonder Woman (Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice)

Instead of a patriotic leotard (which, given her Themiscyrian ancestry, does not make sense), Gal Gadot's Diana Prince fights in Amazonian battle armor. It also bears a bird-shaped emblem at the top, instead of a "WW," which also would have been nonsense to include, considering she never actually gives herself the name "Wonder Woman" in the DC Extended Universe.

Ant-Man (Ant-Man)

In 2015's Ant-Man, when Scott Lang (Paul Rudd) first sees the suit and helmet that he would soon use to shrink to microscopic size, he points out that it looks like a motorcycle outfit. Indeed, it does, which alone makes it an improvement over the tight jumpsuit with a partially opened, antannaed helmet that Hank Pym wears in the comics.

Robin (Batman & Robin)

I am not a fan of the impractical, anatomically correct full rubber suits that plagued the live-action Batman movies of the '80s and '90s. However, I am thankful that Batman & Robin's grown-up version of the Boy Wonder (played by Chris O'Donnell) is not just wearing a leotard. I even admire the decision to replace the green and yellow in his color scheme with black for added stealth, like his older companion... not that stealth is ever really a necessity for these iterations of the Caped Crusaders anyway.

Iron Man (Iron Man)

I would say it is no wonder that more recent comic books show Tony Stark wearing Iron Man armor that better resembles the sleek design created for Robert Downey Jr.'s MCU iteration, instead of the bulkier original suit.

Superman (Man Of Steel)

I am still convinced that the all-time best Superman costume created for live-action media was worn by Henry Cavill in 2013's Man of Steel. In fact, I think Clark Kent's red and blues from the DC Extended Universe outshine that of any of his comic book iterations, and for one reason in particular: I have never been a fan of his red trunks, and I am happy to see that feature omitted here.

Black Panther (Captain America: Civil War)

In his first appearance in Marvel Comics, T'Challa's warrior outfit was merely a skin-tight jumpsuit with a cape. Chadwick Boseman's MCU iteration of Black Panther ditches the cape, thankfully, and gives him some tangible armor, complemented beautifully by the pointed charms placed between his neck and shoulders.

Hawkeye (The Avengers)

I would say it was the right call for Jeremy Renner's Clint Barton to lose the helmet that Hawkeye wears in the comics, as I doubt it would have translated well to live-action cinema. At least, the suit he wears in 2012's The Avengers and subsequent MCU installments retains some of the purple from his original color scheme.

Tobey Maguire's Spider-Man (Spider-Man)

Author Sean O'Connell's book, With Great Power: How Spider-Man Conquered Hollywood During the Golden Age of Comic Book Blockbusters, actually quotes my description of what, arguably, makes Tobey Maguire's suit from Sam Raimi's trilogy the best live-action Spider-Man costume. The early 2000s era Peter Parker looked best for his outfit's anatomically correct spider emblems on the front and back, striking platinum webbing, and some mean-looking eyes.

Falcon (Captain America: The Winter Soldier)

It was easier for fans to take Anthony Mackie's portrayal of Sam "Falcon" Wilson seriously than his comic book counterpart due to the drastic changes to his uniform. Removing his red and white V-neck jumpsuit with attached, foldout wings in favor of a tactical outfit and mechanical, retractable flight gear was the right call.

Scarlet Witch (WandaVision)

We caught a glimpse of what Scarlet Witch's original design would look like if adapted for live action in WandaVision when Wanda Maximoff (Elizabeth Olsen) wore an exaggerated headpiece, red leotard, and cape for Halloween. This would help viewers better appreciate the outfit she settles on at the end of the series, which is more grounded but also better represents her unparalleled power as a sorcerer.

Vulture (Spider-Man: Homecoming)

There are many reasons why Michael Keaton's Adrian "The Vulture" Toomes from Spider-Man: Homecoming is considered one of the all-time best Spider-Man movie villains, including his costume. Giving the experimental weapons dealer more practical wings, powered by propellers, helps ground the character better than his design in the comics, which is just an old dude in homemade feathered wings.

Thor (Thor)

Like many other Marvel Comics heroes of his time, Thor was originally depicted as wearing a tight, sleeveless jumpsuit, in addition to his signature winged metal helmet. I would say Chris Hemsworth's God of Thunder boasts a decent-looking helmet at the beginning of his 2011 MCU debut, but I am especially glad his outfit actually includes armor that also covers his arms in a sleek fashion.

Star-Lord (Guardians Of The Galaxy)

Chris Pratt's Peter Quill simply looks so much cooler in 2014's Guardians of the Galaxy, rocking a red leather duster and protective face mask, as opposed to a uniform that looks exactly like what the Nova Corps wears in the comics.

Doctor Strange (Doctor Strange)

Instead of tights and a tunic, putting Benedict Cumberbatch's Dr. Stephen Strange from 2016's Doctor Strange in a monk-like robe with the Cloak of Levitation made it easier to take the role seriously in the MCU.

Shazam (Shazam!)

You could argue that the costume worn by Zachary Levi's Billy Batson is a bit cartoonish, but that fits perfectly with the more breezy, comical tone of 2019's Shazam! The biggest selling point for me, however, is the constantly glowing lightning emblem, which is just a brilliant touch.

Two-Face (The Dark Knight)

Previous iterations of Harvey "Two-Face" Dent see half of his face become a bizarre, discolored monstrosity, inspiring him to wear custom-made, dual-colored suits. For Aaron Eckhart's version from 2008's The Dark Knight, the damaged side of his face resembles a more authentic result of a burning incident, and his suit's "evil half" is simply charred from the same event, grounding his appearance and, therefore, making the Batman villain even more unsettling.

Mr. Furious (Mystery Men)

I can't imagine seeing Ben Stiller's version of Mr. Furious in the same red and black jumpsuit the raging vigilante wears in Dark Horse's Flaming Carrot comics. However, putting him in a flame-embroidered black leather duster in 1998's Mystery Men works so well.

Nick Fury (The Avengers)

Can you even begin to imagine Samuel L. Jackson wearing Nick Fury's stealth suit from the comics instead of the black leather jacket he wears in The Avengers? Not even David Hasselhoff dressed like that for his pre-MCU portrayal of the character in the made-for-TV movie, Nick Fury: Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D.

The Fantastic Four (2005's Fantastic Four)

I think the cast of the MCU's The Fantastic Four: First Steps looks great in their outfits, which call to mind the characters' original comic book appearances in the 1960s. However, I personally prefer the darker and more minimalistic approach in the otherwise widely despised adaptation from 2005.

M'Baku (Black Panther)

I cannot help but assume that Winston Duke's M'Baku would have looked simply ridiculous wearing a white gorilla's whole face around his head in 2018's Black Panther. However, settling for a decorative mask and a few touches of fur suit the portrayal perfectly.

Nebula (Guardians Of The Galaxy)

Originally, in the comics, Nebula was not a cyborg, but just another, otherwise fierce, blue woman with long hair like Gamora and a traditionally feminine uniform. Making Karen Gillan's iteration from Guardians of the Galaxy a victim of mechanical alterations not only improves her look, but also adds some absorbing complexity to her story.

Loki (Thor)

For 2011's Thor, it was right to get Loki out of his tight, green jumpsuit from the comics and into a more earnestly crafted outfit fit for a god, especially when played by an actor like Tom Hiddleston.

Black Spider-Man Suit (Spider-Man 3)

I realize that the Black Spidersuit from 2007's Spider-Man 3, the result of the alien Symbiote bonding with Peter Parker's red and blues, is, essentially, nothing more than a monochromatic redesign of Tobey Maguire's original suit. However, when considering how iconic that costume already was (and remains), the simple recoloring makes it pop in the same way that printing a photo in black and white tends to improve the image.

Mr. Freeze (Batman & Robin)

I don't think there is a single person who would deny that the way 1997's Batman & Robin depicts the "coldhearted" Mr. Freeze (Arnold Schwarzenegger) is egregiously over-the-top. However, I cannot deny that I believe the design of his costume, handcrafted from aircraft-grade aluminum and thousands of blue LED lights, is epic, especially when compared to the colorful jumpsuit and glass bulb helmet he was given when the comics still called him "Mr. Zero."

Charlie Cox's Daredevil (Daredevil)

The early 2000s take on non-seeing attorney Matt Murdock's vengeful vigilante alter ego (played by Ben Affleck) tried to improve on the comics' red, skintight spandex jumpsuit by replacing it with red, skintight leather. The acclaimed MCU canon series Daredevil put star Charlie Cox in a Kevlar suit with a protective helmet that combines a subtle shade of burgundy with accents of black, resulting in a suit that wins over the originals in terms of both style and function.

Pepper "Rescue" Potts (Avengers: Endgame)

In 2010, Pepper Potts took on an armored vigilante alter ego known as Rescue, whose suit was, essentially, a feminized rework of Tony Stark's Iron Man armor, color scheme, and all. When Gwyneth Paltrow brought Rescue into the MCU in Avengers: Endgame, the appearance changed things up a bit by making purple the main color of her armor.

Moon Knight (Moon Knight)

Honestly, just about all comic book iterations of Moon Knight have looked pretty cool, but Oscar Isaac's Marc Spector from the Disney+ original series, Moon Knight, boasts an outfit that is more comparatively authentic to a genuine Egyptian warrior. Not to mention, giving him actual glowing white eyes makes him infinitely more intimidating.

Yondu (Guardians Of The Galaxy)

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 from 2017 pays tribute to the comic book iteration of Yondu by having Michael Rooker wear a punk rock mohawk-style fin on his head, which is certainly fun to see. However, I'm glad James Gunn refrained from bringing back the character's very revealing original outfit, which is basically two straps to cover his nipples and a skirt.

The Eternals (Eternals)

With all due respect to the late, great Jack Kirby, his original designs for the immortal Marvel heroes known as the Eternals are pretty generic. However, their outfits from Oscar-winning director Chloé Zhao's 2021 movie are far sleeker and more grounded, with additional details that help them stand out from other MCU characters.

Valkyrie (Thor: Ragnarok)

Tessa Thompson's Valkyrie trades in a typical, suggestive armored leotard for awesome-looking full-body warrior garb in 2017's Thor: Ragnarok.

We’re finally just days away from our return to Hell’s Kitchen in Daredevil: Born Again Season 2, which will be available with a Disney+ subscription. Over the last few months, we gotten some hints about the season in the first trailer, and learned who all the new and returning cast members will be.

In Season 1, Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox) was fully reintroduced to the world of the MCU after his cameo in Spider-Man: No Way Home in 2021 and again in She-Hulk (sort of) in 2022. We were finally treated to the first reconfigured show featuring the hero in Daredevil: Born Again, in 2025, which essentially serves as a continuation of the Man Without Fear's original streaming series on Netflix (and has since migrated to Disney+ with the rest of the MCU).

Anchored by Wilson Fisk's ascent to Mayor of New York, the show quickly became a massive hit for Disney+, and Season 2 was already confirmed straight from the beginning. But when will we get this new season? Who will be back? Here is what we currently know.

What Is The Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 Premiere Date?

Season 2 of Daredevil: Born Again is the next upcoming Marvel TV show, with the first episode debuting on the 2026 TV schedule on March 4, 2026.

The news that the show would drop in March 2026 was first announced directly by showrunner Dario Scardapane on his Instagram in April 2025, after the first season concluded:

Having a release window as early as we did for Season 2 shouldn’t be weird, but that’s pretty much become the standard for shows to take years to release new seasons, such as Stranger Things Season 5 or how HBO tends to take years to release its shows, as seen with Euphoria Season 3. Instead, we knew right away that it would be back less than a year after the finale aired.

The production of Daredevil: Born Again encountered a setback in the early stages, to the extent that the entire story was revamped into what we know now. The original idea of a massive 18-show season was split into two. Season 2 will be the second part, but more on that later. However, thankfully, any potential concerns have been addressed, and Season 2 has stayed on schedule. We also know that there will be a Season 3, which was confirmed in September 2025. Disney already confirming a third season certainly bodes well for what those behind the scenes think of the upcoming season.

There is even more good news for Daredevil: Born Again fans: Season 3 is expected to begin production sometime soon, though, as of this update in February 2026, it has not been reported that production has begun.

The Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 Cast

We’ve learned quite a bit about the cast for Season 2, and most of the characters are returning, as well as a couple of exciting new additions.

Charlie Cox and Vincent D’Onofrio will be back as Matt Murdock/Daredevil and Wilson Fisk/Kingpin, respectively, of course. Most of the rest of the cast from Season 1 is expected to return. One big question is how Elden Henson, who plays Franklin "Foggy" Nelson, will be a part of the story, as Henson is announced as returning, despite Foggy’s death in Season 1.

The most exciting addition to the Daredevil: Born Again cast is Krysten Ritter, who will be reprising her role as Jessica Jones from her own Netflix show of the same name. Lili Taylor is also joining as the governor of New York, and Matthew Lillard will be playing a character named Mr. Charles, who we don't know much about.

One big addition to the cast is Tony Dalton as Jack Duquesne/Swordsman.

Another returning character from the original Netflix Marvel franchise is Royce Johnson as Sergeant Brett Mahoney. He appeared in the original Daredevil series, as well as Jessica Jones and The Punisher. Speaking of The Punisher...

Will Jon Bernthal's Punisher be back? We know he will be in the upcoming Spider-Man movie, and he's got his own special on the way, but his participation in Daredevil: Born Again has become a bit of an intriguing mystery.

Early reports indicated that he would not be returning for Season 2, but in an Instagram post in late December 2025, Royce Johnson posted several behind-the-scenes photos from Season 2, and one included none other than Jon Bernthal. Could this mean he will appear? Here's the post:

What Is The Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 Story?

The Daredevil: Born Again finale was crazy, so what can we expect with Season 2? Here is what we know so far:

Season 2 Is Going To Be A ‘Resistance Tale’ Against Kingpin

As we saw at the very end of Daredevil: Born Again, Daredevil was gathering up a squad of people to take down the corruption of New York City, bit by bit, using the bar he frequented with his friends as cover. One of the directors behind the show, Aaron Moorhead, revealed in an interview with THR that this is essentially what Season 2 is going to be – a “resistance tale.” In his words:

Fighting back against Fisk is hardly a surprise, but it seems like Daredevil is going to get some serious help from the likes of Jessica Jones and others. Could we see other surprise characters from what used to be the Netflix Marvel universe, like Luke Cage and Iron Fist? We can't wait to find out.

The first trailer finally dropped in January 2025, and it only reveals a little:

We see some of the new cast members, and there is an ominous "missing" post with Matt Murdoch's face on it, and it looks like Fisk is celebrating... and boxing. Otherwise, it's certainly helping to build excitement without giving away too much.

Bullseye Is Going To Have New Sides To His Personality In Season 2

We saw just a glimpse of Bullseye in Daredevil: Born Again, as this villain is essentially an utter psychopath and a former FBI agent. But in Season 2, it turns out, we’re going to be seeing a whole lot more of him. In an interview with Collider in July 2025, Wilson Bethel says that Season 2 will feature “new sides” to the villain never seen before:

It also seems like Bethel could be back for Season 3, but as we've learned with Foggy, that doesn't reveal much about anything in the plot.

Karen Is Going To Have Some Very Cool Scenes In Season 2

Karen Page made her return alongside Foggy and other characters, and those hoping Deborah Ann Woll would get more scenes in Daredevil: Born Again's second season will have their wishes granted. Charlie Cox revealed in an interview with TV Line in May 2025 that Page is going to have a lot more character moments in Season 2 and will have some “cool” scenes that are quite superlative.

Now that’s something to get excited about. Not that everything else wasn't, but it'd be hard to watch new episodes if they weren't finished first.

We're just a few weeks away from the show hitting the 2026 TV schedule, so get ready, Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 will be here in no time.

I always imagine that there is a degree of sadness that is felt behind the scenes of a long-running television show when a character is killed off. With exceptions, it means that a production is saying goodbye to one of its actors, and that's surely a bummer for the coworkers with whom they've become friendly. That being said, such a development can also be artistically beneficial, and that's exactly how Charlie Cox felt when he learned that Elden Henson's Foggy Nelson was going to die in the first episode of the Marvel Cinematic Universe Disney+ series Daredevil: Born Again.

Through three seasons of Netflix's Daredevil, Cox's Matt Murdock and Foggy are depicted as very close friends and partners, and their relationship features a number of ups and downs. When it came to the former reprising his part as The Man Without Fear for the revival series, however, he was grateful to have the narrative bombshell of Foggy's death to work with emotionally. The show said farewell to a key character, and Cox explained during an event at the SAG-AFTRA Foundation that it provided him opportunity for his performance:

The experience of losing someone close to you always has a deep effect, and for Charlie Cox, the death of Foggy allowed him to explore new dimensions of the Matt Murdock character that he previously haven't witnessed. The blind hero has always has some extreme rage boiling under the surface, but the aftermath of Foggy's death takes him to a darker place than ever previously seen before from the character in the canon.

Cox added that he recognized the friendship between Matt and Foggy as being a core component of Daredevil – but that made it all the more important to dramatically change things up for Daredevil: Born Again. When characters in thrillers feel safe, the drama gets boring... and that is definitely not what happens in the Disney+ show. The actor continued,

It's a classic dilemma in franchise building: filmmakers always want to expand on the popularity of characters, but that popularity can't end up feeling like a force field that protects them from serious harm and/or change. Ultimately, Daredevil: Born Again makes a smart move killing Foggy.

The first season of Daredevil: Born Again started its run back in March, and all nine episodes are available to stream with a Disney+ subscription. If you’re a fan who's been keeping up with upcoming Marvel movies and new MCU TV shows, you probably know that Vincent D’Onofrio plays one of Marvel’s coolest villains. The seasoned actor portrays the intimidating crime boss Wilson Fisk a.k.a. Kingpin. As acclaimed as D'Onofrio's performance has been, he recently fired back at a fan who complained that Kingpin was “nerfed." I appreciated that D'Onofrio ultimately did it with the kind of confidence that only Fisk could pull off.

D'Onofrio put a stamp his the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Kingpin in three gritty seasons of Netflix’s Daredevil as well as appearances in Hawkeye and Echo. The character returned amid the 2025 TV schedule in Daredevil: Born Again. Let’s just say Fisk hasn’t become any softer with age, and this backs up my belief that the MCU's TV villains are the best out there. But not everyone agrees. One fan went on X (formerly Twitter) to say Marvel “nerfed” Kingpin in his latest appearance, suggesting they toned him down for a broader audience. D'Onofrio wasn’t having any of that, saying:

Boom. Graceful, measured, and totally Fisk-like. Instead of lashing out or dismissing the fan’s opinion outright, Vincent D’Onofrio approached the criticism with a bit of humility, but he did not miss the teachable moment which had presented itself. In a series of follow-up posts, he went deeper, pulling back the curtain on what it really takes to bring a complex character like Kingpin to life on screen. He added:

He didn’t stop there. In what might be the most graceful burn of the year, D’Onofrio offered some genuinely wise advice, not just for the commenter, but for anyone with strong opinions on art and media:

Agree with this fan or not, it’s hard to deny how passionate the Full Metal Jacket actor is about the role he’s been working on since 2015. His take on Kingpin is a big part of what makes Daredevil so memorable, and his clever reply shows he cares just as much off-screen as he does when the cameras are rolling.

As for what’s next? D'Onofrio is confirmed to return as Wilson Fisk in Season 2 of Daredevil: Born Again. That aside, it sadly doesn't look like the actor will join a Spider-Man movie. Before D'Onofrio celebrated Jon Bernthal’s Punisher being added to Spider-Man 4, he confirmed that Kingpin could not appear due to legal reasons. While that my indeed be disappointing for avid comic book fans, there's comfort to be found in the fact that Born Again will continue to showcase D'Onofrio's stellar work.

Marvel fans can check out Vincent D’Onofrio’s Kingpin through all his appearances by streaming them with a Disney+ subscription.

Believe it or not, more than ten years have passed since the original Daredevil series debuted as a game-changing Netflix streaming original in early 2015, introducing Charlie Cox as the Devil of Hell's Kitchen. He reprised the role of Matt Murdock for Daredevil: Born Again earlier in the 2025 TV schedule, and this performance was much more in line with the Netflix show than his appearance in She-Hulk. The leading man looked back at the original audition process and when he knew he would be playing the Marvel hero.

Cox, who will return as Daredevil in 2026 for Season 2 of Born Again, opened up on Deadline's Crew Call podcast about his multiple rounds of auditioning for the starring role in what would be the show that set the stage for series like Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and Iron Fist. He shared:

It's strange to think back to a time when not only was Charlie Cox not yet confirmed for the MCU, but Rosario Dawson was still auditioning to play Claire as well. I actually went back with my Disney+ subscription to rewatch the moment that Cox mentioned, which was back in the days of Matt Murdock still wearing his basic black suit and mask. (The moment starts at around the 40-minute mark in Episode 2 of the original Daredevil, if you want to revisit it yourself.)

I'd totally forgotten that Matt had flung a man off of a rooftop early in the series, although the circumstances certainly weren't the same as his confrontation with Bullseye to start Born Again. Honestly, looking back at this point, I wish that Jon Bernthal's violent Frank Castle could meet Season 1 Matt Murdock and watch that interaction. As far as I'm concerned, I can see why this is a scene that locked Cox in for the role that would massively change his career (and his body). He went on:

Charlie Cox may not know what exact change was the one that won him the role of Daredevil, but it was enough to not only propel him through three seasons of his Netflix solo show, but also one season of The Defenders and now a new show on Disney+. The version of Born Again that ultimately released on the Disney streamer felt a lot more closely tied to the Netflix series than was originally planned, with Elden Henson's Foggy originally being killed off-screen and Deborah Ann Woll's Karen being omitted entirely.

The creative overhaul for Daredevil: Born Again brought in Dario Scardapane, who had been a writer and producer for The Punisher back in the Netflix days, as showrunner, and he pushed for Karen and Foggy's returns. Alas, Foggy's return didn't last long, but the Born Again Season 1 finale set Karen up for what could be a much bigger role in Season 2 opposite Charlie Cox.

Season 2 of Daredevil: Born Again is currently in production, with an expected premiere date in March 2026. In the meantime, you can always revisit those original first three seasons or take another look at Born Again Season 1, all on Disney+.

While it wasn’t that long ago that superhero fans were treated to Daredevil: Born Again on the 2025 TV schedule, there was a time when we thought the days of Charlie Cox as Matt Murdock were gone and would never be seen again. As fans know, the series was originally the first of several Netflix shows for Marvel Comics heroes, but we were saddened when it was canceled after Season 3 in 2018. To joyfully return to the role meant that Cox had to make sure he was in fighting shape again, and he recently spoke about how playing the character has “literally transformed” his body, along with what changed from his first run.

What Did Charlie Cox Say About Transforming His Body For Daredevil And How Filming Was Different This Time?

Marvel really did us a solid when it was decided to, finally, bring Daredevil back to the small screen after the character being absent from his own series for many years. Everyone’s Disney+ subscription allowed them to watch Daredevil: Born Again recently, and while we’re waiting on Season 2 (which will reunite the masked vigilante with Jessica Jones, played by Krysten Ritter), Charlie Cox recently spoke with Agatha All Along/Heartstopper actor Joe Locke for Variety, and revealed how he had to change his body after initially landing his leading superhero role, saying:

We’ve heard a lot about the kinds of intense workouts and body transformations that those who portray superheroes go through for upcoming MCU TV shows, and the long line of Marvel movies. Carol Danvers, a.k.a. Captain Marvel, star Brie Larson’s workouts made her strong enough to push a Jeep by herself, and Robert Downey Jr. (who’ll appear as Doctor Doom in Avengers: Doomsday) admitted that his level of training is “unsustainable.” Meanwhile, Lewis Pullman got all ripped for Thunderbolts*, but freely said it made him “feel like shit.”

It sounds like Cox, however, is pretty happy with the change in his body that’s resulted from him learning how to lift weights and do other exercise-focused things, which is lovely to hear. But, that doesn’t mean that suiting up for another full go-round as the rather acrobatic Man Without Fear was as relatively easy as it was when Daredevil first started in 2015. As he added:

Luckily, Cox gets to enjoy the best of both worlds as an actor with his work on Born Again, and so do all the fans.

Plenty of reasons already exist for fans to be excited to eventually stream Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 with a Disney+ subscription, with arguably my own biggest factor being Krysten Ritter’s Jessica Jones returning alongside Charlie Cox as Matt Murdock. (Cox has his own explanation for why he’s most pumped for the second season.) Now, a photo taken on the MCU series’ set seemingly includes a major reveal about a familiar vigilante that should spark plenty of fan enthusiasm.

Daredevil: Born Again’s first season finale wrapped with Matt and Karen coming together with others in the community to take a bigger stance against the increasingly corrupt local government headed up by New York City’s most jaw-rippingly violent mayor to date, Wilson Fisk. And it appears as if White Tiger 2.0 could eventually join the cause, as the latest Season 2 set photo appears to confirm that Angela Del Toro is taking up the vigilante mantle left behind after her uncle Hector was murdered.

The pic, shared on X by user @RayyanTCG, shows Season 1 recurring star Camila Rodriguez in what appears to be Angela’s first homemade attempt at crafting a White Tiger costume. Now, given the nature of the pic and the unconfirmed nature of any specific Season 2 details, fans should bring an appropriate grain-of-salt assessment to this kind of photo.

But from the black-and-white hoodie to the striped bandana covering the bottom half of her face to the protective pads on her knees and elbows, it’s easy to understand why someone would be quick to guess that Angela will indeed rise up to avenge her uncle’s targeted murder by taking on his crimestopping alter ego. Either that or she joined the Hell’s Kitchen White Tigers roller derby team, which seems less likely.

Angela's Return As White Tiger Was Hinted At In Season 1's Finale

First introduced in Episode 4, Camila Rodriguez's Angela quickly made a point of voicing her outrage regarding Hector's murder, and at the time, she seemed more invested in delivering justice than Matt was. The same went whenever she tried to give him information about the recent abductions.

Things got hairier in the sixth episode whenever Angela's solo investigation took her right into Muse's crosshairs as he knocked her out and held her captive while attempting to take her blood. Thankfully, Daredevil caught wind and showed up in time to save the day, but don't go thinking that experience pushed Angela away from her vigilante goals.

The last time viewers saw the character was in the closing minutes of the Season 1 finale, as Matt's voiceover was coupled with self-reflective shots of all the surviving characters who made an impact on the story. Angela in particular is seen looking at a group of armored policemen lined up on the street, and the look on her face is anything but pleased, which played into fans theorizing that Angela would indeed take over the White Tiger moniker in Season.

Of course, that line of speculation already existed simply due to Angela becoming White Tiger in the comic books. So it might have actually been more surprising had Daredevil: Born Again avoided that character's legacy update. But after seeing this first set photo, I think we can all take comfort in seeing White Tiger's return.

Many wondered if Disney’s Daredevil: Born Again could recapture the gritty edge of the original Netflix series. When it premiered on the 2025 TV schedule for those with a Disney+ subscription, it surprised many, emerging as the most violent show on the platform and earning praise from both critics and fans. Charlie Cox says the already greenlit Season 2 will raise the bar even higher. And I love that the longtime “Man Without Fear” is genuinely excited about where the show is heading.

In an interview with The Playlist, Cox clarified he isn’t just offering generic promo talk about the upcoming Marvel TV show. He's genuinely thrilled with how the nine-episode Season 2 is coming together, explaining:

And that shift is more than just aesthetic; it directly changes how Matt Murdock operates in the story. The Theory of Everything actor, clearly energized by the change, explained:

For Cox, one of the most exciting shifts this time is the expanded focus on Born Again's broader cast.

The original Daredevil series often revolved almost entirely around Matt Murdock. However, the actor shared that this Disney+ continuation is leaning into its ensemble. He continued:

This perspective is likely born out of hard-won experience. The first season of Born Again had a famously troubled production history. Marvel initially aimed to launch a clean-slate, MCU-friendly version of the Devil of Hell's Kitchen with a new tone, a new vibe. However, Cox and co-star Vincent D’Onofrio (Kingpin) helped "correct course" on the show. They felt something was off.

Then came the WGA and SAG strikes, which forced a pause and offered an unexpected opportunity. As the Stardust veteran puts it:

Pivot they did. A new pilot, a new finale, and a retooled storyline gave the series a second life. Cox calls it a “Frankenstein-ed” season, but in a good way. And with a tighter, more serialized structure reminiscent of the original Netflix run and a darker tone more aligned with what fans loved, the Boardwalk Empire alum believes the show has found its footing again.

So, yeah, it makes sense why he's so excited for Season 2, especially when compared to other seasons.

Cox is still deep into filming the second season in New York, but he already has the finale script in his inbox. And even though he hasn’t read it yet, he knows one thing for sure: this version of Daredevil is a return to form, which is something all of us MCU fans can get excited for.

The Avengers: Doomsday cast is massive and filled with original MCU Avengers, the Thunderbolts, X-Men, the Fantastic Four and more. However, after that extremely long live-stream of chairs revealed all these names, many noticed that some significant people were missing, like Charlie Cox. Now, the Daredevil: Born Again star has been asked about his name not being on the back of a chair, and he shared his thoughts on the upcoming Marvel movie.

On the heels of the Doomsday live stream and Daredevil: Born Again’s finale airing on the 2025 TV schedule, Charlie Cox was asked by Collider about Matt Murdock not being included (as far as we know) in the Avengers lineup. Reacting to that long livestream and not seeing his name, the Daredevil actor explained:

Now, is Cox going all Andrew Garfield lying about Spider-Man: No Way Home on us, and trying to hide the fact that he’s in this movie? Is he straight up just not in this film, and unaware of what’s going on? Anything is possible, and his answer brilliantly gives us no real insight into what he knows or doesn’t know about Doomsday.

Charlie Cox has a lot of practice with all of this, too, so obviously he knows how to play it coy and keep us guessing.

Like Andrew Garfield and his return as Peter Parker, Cox also had to hide the fact that Matt Murdock was in Spider-Man: No Way Home. His appearance in the film was a big surprise that caused uproarious applause in my theater and many others, and it marked his character’s return to the screen years after Daredevil ended on Netflix.

So, we know the Born Again star knows how to keep a secret, and maybe that’s what he’s doing here. Plus, as No Way Home proved, Marvel loves a surprise, so it’s not totally unreasonable to theorize that Cox is in Doomsday even though his name was not on the back of a chair.

However, it’s also totally possible that he’s clueless about what’s going on with the upcoming Avengers flick.

Marvel likes to keep things close to the vest, and it won’t let everyone in on all the happenings. For example, Charlie Cox and Vincent D’Onofrio found out Born Again was renewed for Season 2 on stage at D23 with the rest of the world (per GMA). Meanwhile, when Endgame was being made, a large portion of the cast didn’t even know they were filming Tony Stark’s funeral; they were told they were shooting a wedding.

So, it’s not farfetched to believe that Cox truly has no clue if he’ll be involved in Doomsday.

While all this is ultimately just a ginormous question mark, we do know that we’ll be seeing Charlie Cox back in the Marvel Cinematic Universe sooner than later. Following Season 1 of Born Again, Daredevil’s second season on Disney+ is in the works, so you can 100% expect to see the Devil of Hell’s Kitchen in an upcoming Marvel show.

However, don’t totally rule out the idea that Charlie Cox could appear in a Marvel movie. It’s happened before, and it could happen again, even if he’s currently saying he’s not, as far as he knows, in Avengers: Doomsday.

One of the big differences between Daredevil: Born Again, which finished its first season on the 2025 TV schedule earlier this month, and the original Daredevil series, which was originally released on Netflix, are the people putting these shows together. While Marvel Studios is handling Born Again, Daredevil was handled back in the day by the now-defunct Marvel Television, which was run as a separate entity. It turns out that division is the reason why the series wasn’t able to include more references to the existing Marvel movies in order, which makes me all the more appreciative that Born Again hasn’t had to deal with such restrictions.

This information comes to us from Steven DeKnight, the showrunner for Daredevil Season 1. He gave the following response when a fan asked him on X (formerly known as Twitter) if there had been any plans for the series, which can now be streamed with a Disney+ subscription, to have “more connections to the MCU” or if it was “always intended to be canon from the beginning”:

People who weren’t invested in MCU lore wouldn’t have been faulted for not knowing that Daredevil existed in the same world as movies like Iron Man and Thor. Outside a few indirect mentions, like when Wilson Fisk’s right-hand man Wesley mentioned how it’d be understandable if Daredevil was so formidable if “he had an iron suit or a magic hammer,” the series might as well have been a standalone offering. Directly tying into fellow Marvel Netflix shows Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Iron Fist, The Defenders miniseries and The Punisher was no problem, but going any further than that was problematic.

Now that’s not to say Daredevil: Born Again is overflowing with MCU references because it’s a Marvel Studios production. Frankly, it also functions as a pretty self-contained show. But then on top of that, we’ve also seen Charlie Cox reprise Matt Murdock in Spider-Man: No Way Home and She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, Vincent D’Onofrio reprised Wilson Fisk in Hawkeye, and both appeared in Echo. OK, so there may be issues with using Kingpin in a Spider-Man movie, but for the most part, the Daredevil-related characters are being warmly welcomed into the wider MCU landscape rather than being kept secluded in their own corner.

Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 is expected to premiere on Disney+ in March 2026. Beyond that, there’s no word on if Matt Murdock, Wilson Fish or any other characters in their direct orbit are set to appear in upcoming Marvel movies or upcoming Marvel TV shows. I certainly hope so, because this synergy has been much more preferable compared to the limitations imposed on the first Daredevil series.

The Marvel Cinematic Universe is firing on all cylinders, with exciting content hitting theaters and streaming with a Disney+ subscription. The latter was the case for the Marvel TV show, Daredevil: Born Again, which recently ended its first season. The finale was pretty incredible, but showed what was missing from the rest of Season 1. Let's break it all down.

The Season 1 finale of Daredevil: Born Again was a killer episode... literally. Matt Murdock suited back up and fought alongside The Punisher as Kingpin tried to take control of the city. I loved seeing the enduring hero of Hell's Kitchen kick ass, but it pointed out just how little of the actual Daredevil we got throughout the season. Instead, most of the action was about non-masked characters, and Charlie Cox spent the majority of his scenes as lawyer Matt Murdock.

Fans who spent years watching the Marvel movies in order will recall how beloved the original Daredevil seasons were during its run on Netflix. After Cox cameod in Spider-Man: No Way Home and She-Hulk: Attorney At Law, the fandom was ready for Daredevil to take the spotlight again. And, while Born Again was a fun watch, the actual superhero didn't get all that much screen time.

Of course, there's an obvious reason for why this might be. Namely that Daredevil: Born Again went through extensive changes during production, where the show was reshaped into the season we saw on Disney+. It's possible that Matt Murdock was suited up in scenes that were ultimately dropped, or that the lack of superhero time was an accidental result of the changes.

Either way, the Season 1 finale proved how awesome Daredevil is when he's in his full glory. Hopefully the second season delivers on this a bit more. Because, as much as I like seeing Matt come face to face with danger, I need more of the guy in the mask.

I want to clarify that I still, overall ,enjoyed Born Again, and I'm hyped for another season. I was a big fan of the original series, and loved seeing the same bloody sensibility brought to the MCU proper. The crime drama side of the series is enticing (as is anything involving Vincent D'Onofrio's Fisk), but I just needed a little more superhero action.

Ever since Cox's surprising cameo in No Way Home, fans have been hoping to see more of him in upcoming Marvel movies and TV shows. He once again suited up in She-Hulk, debuting an awesome yellow suit. But Born Again was a return to form... even if he didn't spend that much time as a vigilante.

Daredevil: Born Again is streaming in its entirety on Disney+. The next release coming from the shared universe will be Thunderbolts* on May 2nd as part of the 2025 movie release list. We'll just have to see when Cox's superhero returns.

The Punisher-heavy finale of Daredevil: Born Again landed on the 2025 TV schedule and totally blew fans away, not just because Kingpin's brutal takeover of the city was so intense, but also because Elden Henson’s Foggy Nelson was absent after seemingly being murdered in the first episode. However, some fans think Marvel might be waiting to bring him back for a big reveal in the already announced Season 2, with many shocked it didn't happen in Season 1's capper.

So, is Foggy gone for good, or is there a chance we’ll see him again? In an interview with TV Insider, executive producer and series writer Dario Scardapane was asked point-blank about the fan theory, and his response was quite surprising in that he did not put a lot of effort into clarifing things. When asked if fans should “let this one go” in regards to Foggy-related theories, the writer responded:

No denial! No reassurance, either, but still. His tightrope-walk of an answer will no doubt keep fans on edge while fueling even more theories. And for longtime fans of Foggy Nelson, it’s quite the gut-wrenching wait to see if all the speculation was worth it.

Theories about what happened to Foggy have been buzzed about since the early episodes, with some fans think he might have faked his death to keep Matt safe, while others believe he could be secretly working in Fisk's administration. Which is in large part based on a somewhat similiar arc in the comics, where Foggy appears to be killed only to be revived in an ambulance and whisked away to witness protection.

So far, there's been no definitive proof he’s still alive, and I'd be remiss not to point out that the filmmakers made it clear that Matt hears Foggy’s heart stop during that scene. Later on, we see just how well Matt can pick up on people’s heartbeats, making it harder to believe that Foggy faked his death. Still, we’ve seen weirder things happen in the source material, so who knows?

Born Again’s first season ended in darkness, both literally and metaphorically. As Scardapane told TV Insider, the finale’s blackout wasn’t just a dramatic twist; it marked a turning point in power. With Fisk in control and vigilantes like Daredevil now enemies of the state, the city feels more dystopian than ever. In that environment, someone like Foggy, who has always believed in working within the system, may not be a good fit. And the idea that he’d fake his death, leaving Matt and Karen in the dark, feels off.

It’s just not who he is. Not to mention, Charlie Cox has spoken about the loss of Foggy and how it will haunt Matt for some time. Why undo all that character work?

Still, Scardapane's carefully worded response will undoubtedly be enough to keep hope alive for many fans. Deborah Ann Woll's Karen Page was also absent for most of the season, only to reappear later in the season for some Frank-centric tension. Of course, she didn't get shot. The finale hinted that Matt and Karen may be preparing to build a resistance of their own, possibly calling in help from street-level allies. Could Foggy be one of them?

Season 2 is suspected to release early in 2026 and will be available to stream by anyone with a Disney+ subscription. Those who are eager to know more about the MCU’s small-screen productions can also check out the schedule of upcoming Marvel shows.

I can still recall the sting of learning that Netflix canceled Daredevil after Season 3, and the worry that Charlie Cox’s Matt Murdock and Vincent D’Onofrio’s Wilson Fisk may never grace the screen together again. Thankfully, no one could keep the vigilante and the Kingpin down for the count, and it’s rather incredible that we’re now here to (hopefully) celebrate the conclusion of Daredevil: Born Again’s solidified-through-reconfiguration first season.

Like many fans, I’ve enjoyed the mostly weekly episode drops, but having to wait a full week after seeing Matt become Pointdexter’s second target of the season has been a strain, especially without a hint of Jon Bernthal in the penultimate ep. Starting Off With A Flashback

I can't say I would have predicted Daredevil: Born Again's swan song kicking off with a reference to Jay Ali's Ran Nadeem, but I'll take it, I suppose.

I'm not sure how much we should be reading into Vanessa touching Pointdexter's hands so much while convincing him to sign that paperwork, but it seemed to work like a charm. Well maybe not a charm, since it led to Foggy and Matt getting shot.

Worked like a 'harm. There it is.

I cannot believe they just faked me out with a Karen hallucination, and then it turned out to be Heather. WHY, TV SHOW, WHY?!?

Fisk Kinda-Sorta Puts A Hit Out

Wilson Fisk namechecking Gallo in an optimistic way feels destined to blow up in his face. And yelling at his staff (even if it's justified) doesn't exactly help.

And then he's gonna follow all that up by threatening Matt's life?!? By sending that dork Cashman?!? (I know the character has a comic history, but this live-action version is a nerve-grating dingus.)

For all of his own problems, I can appreciate anytime someone in any position of power can say a statement like this with confidence, even if it's just acting:

Which of course then leads to complete chaos across the city.

But look who failed to get his target: Cashman.

Hell Yeah, Frank Is Here Baby!

Nobody else can just jump into an MCU property and say a line like this that makes one feel both threatened and empathetic to Frank's plight:

A guy like that needs his caffeine, you know?

Epic Fight #1

Oh. My. Red. Horned. Devil. God. That was one hell of an action sequence in every good way possible.

So many faces smashed. So many bones broken. So many bullets put just through that one guy's face and that desk. So many squelching noises as Frank went blade-crazy on that other guy.

In most cases, I'd be bothered that Matt didn't knock the radio out of that Task Force agent before he alerted others about Frank's presence, but at this point, I want them to come and get their asses ripped apart and fed to them, or whatever Frank has cooked up.

Karen Karen Bo Baren!

It would have been baffling if Deborah Ann Woll had returned only to film that one fakeout scene. But no, she's back! And in the same room with both Frank and Matt! It's the dream team!

Of course this show IMMEDIATELY split up the dream team, and then Frank reminded her that he paid his favor back, making it sound like he had no plans on seeing her again in the near future. So, kind of a net-negative, but still! Karen!

Even though Daniel Blake as a character doesn't excite me very much, I do love the way that Michael Gandolfini is able to appear completely warm and cuddly in one second, and like a possessed psychopath in the next. I gotta hope his pops would be proud.

Now We Know What The Fisks Are Up To

Karen and Matt just can't let things like feelings and happiness to see each other stop them from fulfilling the mission. So it's good that Karen was able to immediately figure out the big secret behind the Fisks' plan.

Red Hook' charter makes it a free port, which Vanessa has taken advantage of with her stored art. They want to make Red Hook a city/stage, at least that's how Matt sees it.

The Punisher Gets Punished

Kudos to Frank for trying to enact some justice by taking out some of the Task Force members that were showing zero discretion about their murderous patterns. And he certainly did take down some of them.

But sadly not everyone, and it was more depressing than I thought to watch him get whooped up on before having to sit tied up in front of a bunch of poseur shitbags in skull-emblazoned garb.

I wish we'd have the chance to see all of those cops on fire to test whether or not Frank would piss on them or not.

This Franchise's First Jaw-Ripping Murder

I don't know if it's poetic exactly that we've gone from Vincent D'Onofrio's Kingpin slamming someone's head into a pulp with a car door to the point where he's ripping faces off of police commissioners in full view of others as a Mayor of a metropolis. But it has certainly been fun to watch this evolution in brutality all the same.

I thought he was going to squeeze Gallo's head until it popped or something, but no, he was just loosining the man's head bones until it was all malleable enough to just rip that sucker off of the rest of his skull.

His post-face-destroying etiquette is on point, at the very least.

I thought I was ready to get hyped about Josie's actually looking like it will be open again in the foreseeable future, and that it already had quite a few friendly customers to help a city's vigilante in need.

But then the episode went and took us into the Fisks' underground lair, where a bunch of their opposers like the Swordsman and...sadly, Frank. It sucked to see Punisher all chained up like that.

Especially after seeing quick shots of all the other main characters in Daredevil: Born Again that 100% deserve to be caged for a while.

Post-Credits Punisher Goodness

Thankfully, we didn't have to wait very long to get a reassuring resolution for Frank Castle's state of confined plight. Because he clearly got paired up with the biggest dipshit of all the guards who could have been keeping an eye on everyone. Like, he should have had some pride in front of all the other prisoners by feeding right into Frank's plan.

Which is all to say, I don't feel sorry for that guy or any of his shattered bones.

Also, I know this is Daredevil: Born Again and all, but I could not be happier that this first season full-on embraced the fact that this corner of the Marvel-verse is where fans first met Jon Bernthal's Punisher and first heard Frank Castle''s hauntingly primal screams.

Final Thoughts

On a scale of 1-10 Batons To The Throat, where 10 is the more positive score, I'd give "Straight to Hell" an A for Absolute Visceral Joy. Wait, that score doesn't sound right at all. Maybe I got hit in the head during one of those fight scenes.

In hindsight, though, it was about as dour and downbeat an ending as it gets for a superhero series, with the bad guys coming out on top and most of the good guys left to heal up in the dark before setting up for a renewed attempt to take the city back from its corrupted mayor and his growing army of sycophants. Of course he gave Heather a promotion. Ugh. How did anyone ever trust her with their inner thoughts?

It says something that the final shot we get of Daredevil himself isnt' in any kind of an intimidating hero pose, but through a torn hole in one of Josie's papered-up windows. The only spot of brightness to be found is the blue in Karen's eyes. Otherwise, it's a sad, sad day for Lady Justice.

Except for when Frank made it clear he was about to escape Fisk's secret prison.
