It’s been nearly 40 years since Full House premiered on ABC, and the cast remains as close as ever these days. That’s partially because the TV family came together after Bob Saget’s unexpected death in 2022, and after seeing how much John Stamos specifically has stepped up to keep the comedian’s memory alive, it’s hard to imagine there was a time when they “didn’t get along.”

While the actors who played the young Tanner sisters had their own sibling rivalries going on — Jodie Sweetin has said she was closer to Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen because Candace Cameron allegedly thought she was “lame” — the three guys making up the adult contingency of the Full House cast had some tension of their own. John Stamos opened up to Bobby Bones on The BobbyCast about the heartbreaking events that bonded them for life.

John Stamos Found Bob Saget And Dave Coulier’s Comedy ‘Distracting’

It makes sense that John Stamos didn’t see eye to eye with his adult co-stars at the beginning of Full House. Both Bob Saget and Dave Coulier came from a standup background, while Stamos got his start on the soap opera General Hospital before joining the short-lived sitcom You Again?. As the actor explained to Bobby Bones:

John Stamos clarified that he loves standup comedy and is fascinated by the art of it, but it’s not something he can do. However, in addition to Stamos not appreciating Bob Saget and Dave Coulier goofing off on set, he also “pissed Bob off” by nurturing the relationship between his character Uncle Jesse and the Olsen twins’ Michelle.

The Full House Stars Became Close After Family Tragedies

The cast of Full House will say today that they are just like a real life family — bickering and all — but it was apparently tragedies in their real lives that ultimately brought the Danny Tanner, Joey Gladstone and Jesse Katsopolis actors together. John Stamos said:

What a wildly tough thing for all of them to have to go through, but it’s pretty amazing that they had each other to lean on. It’s no wonder the trio became friends for the rest of the series and after. John Stamos continued:

It’s obvious how much Bob Saget’s death still hurts John Stamos, as he said the comedian was “bombastic with his love”:

Whether fans remember him most for Full House, his raunchy comedy or any of Bob Saget’s other movies and shows, it’s clear that Saget loved the people in his life very much, and it was reciprocated — even if it took John Stamos a while.

Oh Mylanta! I’m not normally the type of fan that second guesses what a movie or tv show would have been like had another actor been cast in a specific role, but as a superfan of both Saturday Night Live and Full House, I have to admit I’m spiraling right now. I just found out that a few years before Lorne Michaels brought him to Studio 8H, David Spade was called in to read for the part of Joey Gladstone.

Apparently Spade has mentioned his audition before, but I wasn’t aware of it until I listened to the comedian’s appearance on Esquire’s What I’ve Learned earlier today. Host Michael Sebastian asked Spade if it was true he almost played Joey, and I let out an audible, “Have Mercy!” The Joe Dirt star verified it happened and even gave some insight into his audition. Here’s a portion of his quote…

I love Spade, but it’s hard to imagine him being a fit on Full House. Dave Coulier, who got the Joey role, projects extreme sincerity, which is the hallmark of the show itself. It’s all about learning lessons and connecting as a family, whether you’re related by blood or just by love.

Spade, on the other hand, is all about insincerity. He’s best when he’s sliding in little comments and second-guessing everything going on around him. It’s hard for me to imagine how any of it would have blended together, except I’m positive his scenes with noted weirdo Kimmy Gibbler would have been electric.

We have no idea if producers ever seriously considered him, but he said he knows he definitely was close to landing something on In The Heat Of The Night. That’s not really a show that’s talked about a ton anymore, but it was a police procedural that ran from 1988 to 1995. Perhaps more notably, it was Carroll O’Connor’s follow-up to All In The Family/ Archie Bunker’s Place. Had Spade been cast, he likely never would have had that amazing run on SNL (or Just Shoot Me) and may have seen his career go down an entirely separate path since the show had a much more serious tone.

Full House ran for eight seasons and unlike In The Heat Of The Night, remains very culturally relevant. Reruns of the sitcom were broadcast very consistently for decades, and more recently, Netflix even gave us five seasons of a spinoff following the next generation called Fuller House. I’ve seen every single episode of both shows. I wouldn’t change a thing about the cast, but I would pay more money than I’d care to share for an alternate universe DVD set of the show featuring Spade exchanging, “You got it, dudes” with the Olsen Twins.

Full House will be having its 40^th anniversary next year, which is crazy to think about. But the series remains a favorite among many fans, myself included. Thanks to reruns on Nick at Nite, I have been a fan of the TGIF sitcom for years. It's one of the best sitcoms of all time, and one of the best things about the show is that almost everyone on the cast remains close to this day. That's why I was so surprised to hear there was “tension” between John Stamos, the late, great Bob Saget, and Dave Coulier early on.

One of the reasons why Full House did so well and why it ran for eight seasons is because of the chemistry between the cast. The show was about a family, and everyone was practically a family off-screen as much as on-screen. Stephanie Tanner actress Jodie Sweetin revealed on the podcast The McBride Rewind that everyone was very close, but there was something a little different when it came to the dynamic between Stamos, Saget, and Coulier that was different from Jesse, Danny, and Joey:

Going from a soap opera like General Hospital to a full-blown family sitcom like Full House couldn’t have been easy for Stamos, and he’s opened up in the past about how frustrating the show's early years were. While things definitely got easier as the show went on, and the writers even took notice of his quick friendship with Coulier. Sweetin admitted that, at least during the first season, there was some tension when it came to professionalism:

It’s hard to imagine how different things would have been, not only with the show but with the cast, had Stamos not let his guard down and really started having fun on the set. It’s also because of him letting go that the dynamic between Jesse and Joey and their partnership really became core to the show, as well as the dynamic between the two of them and Danny. And I am so glad that the tension got resolved by the second season, because who knows what would have happened.

While that tension has obviously been resolved for years, there has been some new tension coming out in recent years between Sweetin and on-screen sister Candace Cameron Bure. The two, who have had a public fallout following Bure’s “traditional marriage” comments, have seemingly buried the hatchet on a few different occasions. Sweetin previously spoke out about their differing viewpoints, admitting they weren’t ever really feuding, but knows that they don’t have the same beliefs.

Like any family, though, nothing is ever perfect, and there will be fights. All that really matters is that, for the most part, the family that fans saw on-screen was true off-screen, albeit a little differently. But don’t even get me started on Stamos getting the Olsen Twins fired when the show was first starting out.

It’s hard to believe it’s been four years since we lost the great comedian Bob Saget. The former stand-up comic and star of Full House died in a tragic accident four years ago today, and several of his co-stars, Candace Cameron Bure, John Stamos and Dave Coulier, took a moment to remember him on this unfortunate anniversary.

Bure took to Instagram and posted a collection of photos of herself and Saget. Some of them are more recent, from the period in and around the Fuller House reboot, but a couple of these are true throwbacks to when Candace Cameron Bure was just a kid named Candace Cameron. It’s a relationship that has spanned most of her life, and seeing it in pictures is equal parts heartwarming and heartbreaking.

Bob Saget is one of those performers that a generation grew up watching, and so it felt like they knew the man personally. He was one of America’s most famous dads as Danny Tanner on Full House, even if his stand-up work was far more mature. John Stamos and Bob Saget certainly came a long way. Stamos has previously said he didn’t like his co-star that much, but the two ultimately became very good friends. They spent one of their last days together at Stamos’ favorite place, Disneyland. Considering how random and unexpected Saget’s death was, there was certainly no way to know it would be the last time they would see each other. Sagat is believed to have died from injuries sustained from an accidental fall in his hotel room in Florida where he was on tour performing stand-up.

The third member of the Full House trio, Dave Coulier, didn’t miss the chance to tell the world what Bob Saget meant to him, in his own Instagram post, he said he thought his friend would want that…

It’s clear that Bob Saget meant a lot to those whose lives he touched. For those who knew him and those wno simply watched him, we’re all poorer now that he’s gone. Our thoughts go out to his friends and family on this difficult day.

Over the past year, Dave Coulier has been candid about his health challenges. Coulier – who’s best known for his role as Joey Gladstone on Full House and Fuller House – revealed in November 2024 that he’d been diagnosed with Stage 3 non-Hodgkin lymphoma. The beloved actor and comedian has been in remission when it comes to that disease but, unfortunately, Coulier just revealed he’s been diagnosed with another form of cancer. Now, longtime friend and former co-star John Stamos, and a host of fans, are sending him love.

Dave Coulier Opens Up About Being Diagnosed With Cancer Again

Coulier revealed on Tuesday, December 2, that he’d been diagnosed with tongue cancer. While opening up about the diagnosis on Today, the 66-year-old star said the cancer was detected during a PET scan this past October, at which point doctors noticed that a previously discovered growth on his tongue had expanded. After a biopsy was conducted, it was formally deduced that the comedian contracted early stage, P16-positive oropharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma. Coulier recalled being taken aback by the news:

The American Cancer Society says the P16 protein serves as an indicator for human papillomavirus (or HPV). When it comes to P16-positive cancer, HPV-16 – a sexually transmitted infection, causes it. A silver lining to Dave Coulier’s position as a “positive” patient is that the outlook is much better for those who are in the “negative” category. Coulier – who just shared seven months ago that he was cancer-free – also expressed optimism over his treatment:

On the whole, Coulier is undergoing 35 treatments, per Today, and those will last until the end of this year. Although it’s unfortunate to hear that the Real Ghostbusters icon is contending with yet another cancer battle, it’s comforting that his prognosis looks good. What’s also heartwarming is the array of well wishes he’s been receiving following the announcement.

John Stamos And Fans Reach Out To Dave Coulier Amid His Diagnosis

The casts of Full House and Fuller House (which are available to stream with a Netflix subscription and HBO Max subscription, respectively) have remained close over the years. So it wasn’t surprising to me in the slightest that John Stamos (who played Jesse Katsopolis on both sitcoms) shouted out Dave Coulier following his cancer announcement. Stamos screenshotted an image from Coulier’s Today interview and shared it to his Instagram story. He also shared a two-word caption:

Stamos previously went viral for supporting Coulier after his first cancer diagnosis by donning a bald cap as a way of showing solidarity with his buddy’s newly shaved head. The Grandfathered actor received backlash for the movie, though Coulier swiftly responded, saying that Stamos’ gesture was well-timed and needed. Around that same time, some other former castmates like Candace Cameron Bure and Jodie Sweetin showed love as well as fans. Now, fans are showing love again, and some of the Instagram comments can be seen below:

The love for Dave Coulier – who’s still been attending conventions this year – is real, and he himself hasn’t shied away from the legacy of Full House or its continuation series. Back in 2023, Coulier actually launched the Full House Rewind podcast. It’s incredibly sweet that the fanbase still has as much for Coulier as he has for them. On that note, let’s send Coulier all of the positive vibes as he undergoes this latest round of treatment.

If you grew up with the Tanner family on Full House, my sincerest apologies, because this bit of news from Candace Cameron Bure might make you feel a bit old (it certainly did for me). This week marks the 38th anniversary of the beloved TGIF comedy’s premiere on ABC. That’s right, just shy of four decades, and to celebrate another year gone by, Bure shared a ton of throwback pics and videos that admittedly brought a tear to my eye.

On September 22, 1987, America was introduced to widower Danny Tanner (Bob Saget), his three daughters and the two guys who were moving in to help following the death of Danny’s wife. The rest was history, as we watched DJ, Stephanie and Michelle (Candace Cameron Bure, Jodie Sweetin and the Olsen twins, respectively) grow up before our eyes for the next eight years. Bure posted some great memories to Instagram to mark the occasion, which you can see below:

From Tanner family portraits to candid shots of the cast members hanging out together off-set to that theme song that still slaps, Candace Cameron Bure provides quite the amazing walk down memory lane, pulling out her character’s catchphrase in her caption, which read:

Another person who’s grateful for the memories and for the family he met on the Full House set is Dave Coulier, aka Joey Gladstone (but not Uncle Joey?). The comedian responded with an adorable message in the comments. He wrote:

There’s no arguing that this fictional family became a real one over those eight years, with the cast staying in touch — despite some bickering between the co-stars at times — and ultimately reuniting for the spinoff Fuller House in 2016 (which can be streamed with a Netflix subscription).

The actors look so much like family in the pics above that the only way you can tell the show photos from their personal ones is by looking at which pictures feature both Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, as opposed to just one “Michelle Tanner.”

John Stamos (Uncle Jesse) and Lori Loughlin (Aunt Becky) are seen in quite a few shots, as are Andrea Barber (Kimmy Gibbler), Scott Weinger (Steve Hale), and Blake and Dylan Tuomy-Wilhoit, who played twins Nicky and Alex. It looks like Loughlin and Candace Cameron Bure were pretty close, and I love that they seem to have shared the same bond as their characters did.

The final slide of Candace Cameron Bure’s post, however, nearly did me in, as it showed the actress years ago receiving a surprise message from Bob Saget, who has since passed away. In a pre-recorded video, he tells his TV daughter:

OK, I’m not the only one crying, right? It’s been enjoyable as someone who grew up watching Full House (and still streams it with my Max subscription) to see how close its cast remains after all these years. Candace Cameron Bure has a particularly special bond with Dave Coulier, and there’s a good reason — it turns out he introduced her to her husband! This bit of Tanner trivia had eluded me until now, and I can’t get over their sweet social media exchange as Bure celebrated her 29th wedding anniversary.

Candace Cameron Bure — who continues to appear on the 2025 TV schedule as part of Great American Family’s slate of movies — posted a tribute to her husband Valeri Bure in celebration of nearly three decades of marriage. She was also sure to thank her former co-star for making it all possible. In an Instagram post, she wrote:

Dave Coulier — who played the hilariously named Joey Gladstone on Full House, who moved in to help best friend Danny Tanner (Bob Saget) raise his three daughters — seemed to appreciate the shout-out, but he took no credit as he referenced the night the Bures met, as he responded:

Why do I feel like the love between these two friends is almost overshadowing her wedding anniversary? No, I’m just kidding (mostly), but Dave Coulier does appear to be the only non-family member to make the cut in Candace Cameron Bure’s post of throwback photos. Check him out on the second slide:

These pics are so adorable, and 20-year-old CCB and her 22-year-old groom look like babies in their wedding attire! It’s cute to see them celebrating their love alongside their three children (and Dave Coulier) throughout the years.

Given the huge role that her Full House co-star played in her personal life, it makes even more sense why Candace Cameron Bure said Dave Coulier’s cancer diagnosis was “devastating” for her. Thankfully, the comedian has since announced that he’s cancer-free — a fact that was celebrated loud and proud by the oldest of the Tanner daughters.

Twenty-nine years is quite the accomplishment for Valeri and Candace Cameron Bure, as is the actress’ 39-year friendship with Dave Coulier and the other stars of Full House. The GAF actress and producer shared some sweet photos of herself and Coulier from over the years, including from their Full House days, and totally kept it clean.

Of course, the comments were filled with a lot of love. Coulier also went into the comments to express his love for Bure and called her a pretty interesting nickname, and now I’m dying to know where it came from:

It’s a very wholesome exchange, especially since it’s clear there’s some type of inside joke or something that includes the “poopoo” nickname. It also shows just how close they are as Bure just expressed her love for Coulier back and didn’t bat an eye. The fact that they have their own little nicknames for each other makes their relationship that much more special, even over 35 years after Full House first aired.

Bure, who honored late co-star Bob Saget on The Masked Singer, was one of many to show support for Coulier on social media when he made the cancer announcement. Meanwhile, John Stamos wore a bald cap for his longtime friend and after people complained about it just being a bald cap, Coulier came to his defense and shared that he “laughed out loud” when he saw Stamos in it. Stamos also gave a New Year’s shoutout to Coulier, which was sweet to see.

Coulier’s cancer battle had not been easy, but he’d been constantly giving fans updates on social media and showing them that he was still putting up a fight. He recently opened up about missing Saget and shared what he thought he would say about the diagnosis and how he would be there for him.

As a longtime Full House fan, I love nothing more than to see the cast interact with each other and reunite with one another. As well as keeping the memory of their late co-star alive. Now that Coulier is officially cancer-free, fans can breathe a sigh of relief knowing that he’s going to be okay. Additionally, there will likely be many more wholesome exchanges and reunions to come as the Full House family celebrates the good news.

Three years after Bob Saget’s passing, the 2025 TV schedule sees members of the Full House cast preserving Bob Saget’s memory through their work and their memories. Co-star Dave Coulier knew the late comedian well going back to the '80s, which makes his recent discussion of Saget’s legacy in the context of his own health even more poignant.

As Coulier’s ongoing cancer battle has seen him undergo multiple rounds of chemotherapy, fond remembrances of Tanner family’s TV patriarch were brought up in conversation with Parade Magazine. In such a time of personal challenges, Dave Coulier has all of the love in the world from his friends. As he describes below, the memory of Bob Saget also affects him:

Similarly, Dave Coulier and John Stamos’ Full House brotherhood looks to have that same sort of “lovable crazy” energy. Otherwise, why would Stamos have pulled that good natured bald cap stunt when Coulier started rocking that look for real?

But even knowing full well that Bob Saget is no longer living, the voice acting alum of such cartoons as Muppet Babies and The Real Ghostbusters still feels his friend’s presence quite strongly. Coulier went on:

As Dave Coulier has concluded his chemotherapy treatments, he’ll continue to move forward. But to go back to his previous comments about “filling that well” known as the legacy of Bob Saget, his fond remembrance of his longtime friend is just as important as all of the Full House memories shared by the rest of the cast.

It’s hard to believe that it’s been nearly 40 years since we first met the Tanner family on ABC’s Full House. Many fans who have come to love the show weren’t even born when it premiered in 1987. The Olsen twins hadn’t even had their 1st birthday yet, and now Ashley Olsen is a mom. Candace Cameron Bure has a son who is married. The passage of time is astounding, so seeing throwback pics from a Season 1 party really has me in my feels.

This blast of nostalgia comes to us thanks to Jodie Sweetin, who played middle sister Stephanie to CCB’s DJ and the Olsen twins’ Michelle. On the Instagram page of her podcast How Rude, Tanneritos!, which she co-hosts with Andrea Barber (aka Kimmy Gibler), Sweetin shared some pics from the cast’s Season 1 Christmas party.

Honestly, after seeing those photos, could Jodie Sweetin possibly be cuter? The actress would have been 5 years old at Christmas in 1987, and I am loving her adorable sweater. (Anybody else getting Mr. Bear vibes?)

She’s pictured in the Instagram post with Bob Saget, who played her dad Danny on Full House (which can be streamed with a Max subscription), as well as John Stamos (better known as Uncle Jesse) and Dave Coulier (who I have admittedly called “Uncle Joey,” despite him not being related). Saget looks like a baby himself in that flashback to the ‘80s, and that’s another tough thing to come to terms with regarding time, seeing as it’s been three years since we lost the standup comedian way too soon.

Bob Saget died in January 2022 after suffering what was determined to be a head trauma following a show in Florida. His Full House family has continued to “fill the well,” so to speak, and preserve his memory by sharing stories of their good times together.

On the post, I also love seeing how close John Stamos clearly was with Jodie Sweetin. Stamos seems to have had a prickly relationship with his co-stars in the beginning. He got the Olsen twins temporarily fired, he “pissed off” Bob Saget and he was nervous about being upstaged by the cute kiddos.

But you can’t look at that cute Christmas party pic and think for one second that he wasn’t already smitten with his TV niece.

It’s always a delight when the Full House cast give us glimpses into the past — even if it does make us feel ancient — and we got plenty of that when the actors celebrated the sitcom’s 35th anniversary a couple of years ago. John Stamos also shared a throwback pic of himself with his arms wrapped around both Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen when they were toddlers.

Seeing how much these actors always cared for each other reminds us of why we fell in love with Full House in the first place and why it remains one of the best series on Max right now. Full House is a much-beloved series in the history of television, with many still enjoying reruns with their Max subscription. Most of the cast members love to relive those memories as well, especially Jodie Sweetin and Andrea Barber on their Full House rewatch podcast. However, that doesn’t mean they’re afraid to share their true feelings about some of the sitcom’s rougher moments. They recently revealed the one early episode they say is “easily the worst,” and I think they’re spot-on.

“Sea Cruise,” the fifth episode of Full House’s first season, has been officially dubbed the worst in the eyes of Stephanie Tanner and Kimmy Gibbler portrayers Jodie Sweetin and Andrea Barber. They made their strong opinions known on a recent episode of How Rude, Tanneritos!, on which Barber declared:

On this episode, which originally aired October 16, 1987, Danny (Bob Saget) ships the girls off to grandma’s house so he can enjoy some male bonding time with Jesse (John Stamos) and Joey (Dave Coulier). Despite Danny’s apprehension to move on so soon after his wife’s death, the guys end up on a rickety boat full of women.

Jodie Sweetin agreed with her podcast co-host, though she threw out a couple of possible competitors in the “worst episode” category, saying:

Andrea Barber stood firm, though, saying that in the years they’ve been rewatching all of the Tanner family fun, she hasn’t come across an episode as bad as this one. In her words:

I’ve got to say, I agree wholeheartedly with “Sea Cruise” receiving this designation. Maybe I’m a little biased, since I grew up alongside DJ, Stephanie and Michelle, but doesn’t everybody agree Full House is at its best when the girls are around? Even John Stamos admitted he was nervous early on about getting upstaged by the child actors.

Five episodes into the series, I have to wonder how many people were tuning in to hear the double entendres and innuendo of the three single guys, not to mention their cringe musical numbers, corny dialogue and Jesse's fragile ego.

I was, however, a little surprised at how easily Andrea Barber and Jodie Sweetin came to their conclusion. Given how “uncomfortable” they were watching the DJ episode “Shape Up” from Season 4 — in which Candace Cameron Bure’s character stops eating in hopes of losing weight before Kimmy’s pool party — I thought that might have been in the running.

Of course, we all have our favorite Full House episodes and our least favorite, and with it being one of the best shows to stream on Max right now, you can revisit any of them that you wish.

As we wait for 2025 TV schedule to truly kick off, now feels like a good time to get into some of those sitcoms perfect for long binges. Full House feels like a no-brainer in that respect, as both fans and veterans of the ABC show continue to keep its legacy in mind rather fondly. Nowhere can that be better seen than in star John Stamos’ recent new years message, which saw him shout out co-star Dave Coulier, amidst his battle with cancer.

What’s more, fellow on-screen family member Candace Cameron Bure also reached out with her own best wishes for a happy and healthy road ahead. With Stamos taking to Instagram with a photo featuring his wife Caitlin McHugh and their son, the Spidey and His Amazing Friends star had this lengthy message of hope to share with the world:

Even if you aren’t a fan of Full House, it’s a beautiful sight to see a sitcom family actually keep the love going long after they’ve wrapped on their roles. If you want to have a nice throwback marathon of Full House, you don’t need to believe in the milk man, the paper boy, or evening TV. Now, the actress is getting candid about her longtime friend’s health, including how “devastating” it was when she received the call.

It’s no secret that the cast and crew of Full and Fuller House have forged a family dynamic off camera. They’ve been through high moments, like marriages and child births. And, on the other hand, they’ve also seen each other through tough times, including co-star Bob Saget’s death in 2022. Considering their closeness, Candace Cameron Bure was apparently a bit shaken when she learned about the Joey Gladstone actor’s cancer diagnosis:

Dave Coulier has indeed been staying upbeat amid his health situation, and it sounds like the GAF actress is seeking to do the same. However, she also explained to Fox News that the news wasn’t all that easy to process in the beginning. The DJ Tanner actress initially had a hard time accepting what had come to pass. Later in her interview, she went on to reveal that moment that the reality of Coulier’s diagnosis really hit her:

While Candace Cameron Bure possessed those feelings, she’s now aiming to be proactive amid this situation. She and her co-stars have been finding ways to lend their support to their co-star and surrogate family member in various ways. John Stamos, for example, wore a bald cap as a way of standing in solidarity with Dave Coulier, who lost hair due to his treatments. While Stamos was criticized for his gesture, Coulier defended him. Bure also lauded her on-screen uncle and explained how she’s supporting the veteran comic:

For years now, Candace Cameron Bure has discussed her religious faith and how important it is to her. She’s talked about “going against the grain” while growing up in Hollywood as a Christian. Prayer isn’t the only way that she plans to help out her co-star either, as she explained that she also offered to help them in any other way that she can.

It’s absolutely unfortunate that Dave Coulier has to contend with such a medical situation, though it’s heartwarming to see his co-stars show up for him at this time. It’s a testament to the notion that the ties amongst the ensemble cast of one of the best TGIF comedies remain strong decades after the OG series ended. John Stamos took to Instagram this week to pay tribute to his longtime co-star amid his cancer battle. Famous for playing Jesse Katsopolis on one of the best TGIF shows and its spinoff and sporting sweet, black locks, Stamos sported a bald cap in several images he shared. Some fans expressed positive feelings over the Big Shot star's gesture. Yet there were others who took issue with it. Some appeared to question why the actor didn’t actually shave his head, while others accused him of being performative with his actions. Dave Coulier himself seemingly caught wind of the responses and ultimately penned a response that was shared to Instagram. He began his statement by saying that he was “sorry to see a bunch of negative comments” at the start of his cancer journey. Coulier added:

The veteran comedian then went on to say that he’s heard from a number of people who’ve been encouraged by how he’s sought to spread awareness about cancer screenings. From there, he declared his intention to “laugh in the face of adversity” as he continues to deal with his medical situation. The Muppet Babies alum also shared another reason why his diagnosis is so personal for him:

The Full House cast has shown over the years that they’re quite close. In many ways, they themselves have become a family in real life and have developed a bond similar to those of the characters they played. All have met up at conventions over the years, where they’ve regaled fans with behind-the-scenes stories from their hit shows. And, just a few years ago, they all came together to collectively mourn and pay tribute after the death of Bob Saget.

Regardless of how some people may feel about John Stamos’ way of honoring his friend, it seems that he and Dave Coulier are remaining close at this time. He apparently shared the news with John Stamos, Candace Cameron Bure, Jodie Sweetin, Andrea Barber, Lori Loughlin, and Scott Weinger, as well as the show's creator Jeff Franklin.

Obviously those who were in the personal chat chimed in with personal messages to Coulier himself, but some also took to social media to publicly share support for the comedian. Candace Cameron Bure took to Instagram Stories to share the following message over an interview clip of Coulier on Today. As she put it:

It's worth noting that Dave Coulier has reportedly been the most open to remaining friendly with Bure following the backlash the actress faced after making those "traditional marriage" comments regarding her then-new role behind the scenes at Great American Family. (Jodie Sweetin was also forgiving, but definitely defended the LGBTQ+ community all-around.)

John Stamos' Message For Dave Coulier

For many Full House fans, it's almost instinctual to thinking about John Stamos in the same breath as Dave Coulier, considering Joey and Jesse's friendship on the show carried over so strongly into the real world for the actors. So it likely would have been weirder if the current animated Iron Man voice actor hadn't posted anything specifically directed at Coulier's downer news.

Melissa Coulier shared her appreciation for Stamos in the comments of his post, with other supportive messages and replies coming from Everybody Loves Raymond vet Brad Garrett, the Full House Rewind podcast page and more.

Dave Coulier's diagnosis reveal comes a little less than three years after Bob Saget suddenly died in his hotel room after hitting his head in a fall. And fans like me are definitely hoping that the Out of Control vet will make it through treatments as happily and healthily as possible.

As an additional tidbit for Full House fans that isn’t quite so downbeat: Dave Coulier revealed in the latest episode of Full House Rewind that he now has a new co-host in the form of fellow sitcom vet Marla Sokoloff, who famously portrayed Gia Mahan on both the mothership series and its follow-up.

It's been nearly three years since we lost Bob Saget, but thankfully, the Full House cast has continued to keep his memory alive. Saget died in 2022 from head trauma after an accidental fall. In the years since, many stars from the TGIF sitcom have paid tribute to one of the TV dads we’d be proud to have, and they are still recalling sweet memories. Now, Dave Coulier is revealing how the cast preserves his memory, and I’m already crying just thinking about it.

Much of the Full House cast remained close after filming wrapped in the ‘90s, and then they were brought together again for the Netflix revival Fuller House. This means they have countless memories from over the years, and sharing those is how the cast keeps their late co-star in their lives. While appearing at ‘90s Con in Florida in September, Coulier told Us Weekly how everyone keeps Saget’s legacy alive, and it sounds like an emotionally bonding experience:

That is perhaps one of the best ways to keep someone’s memory alive. The Full House cast has so many memories with Saget, and it’s very possible that the more they talk about him, the more they remember. Plus, by sharing these stories publically, fans are able to learn more about the actor's life too.

Not surprisingly, the cast still gets asked about Saget, and it seems like every time they talk about him, they have something new to share. Last April, for example, Aunt Becky herself, Lori Loughlin, recalled the moment she found out about Bob Saget’s death, revealing she was playing golf and looked at her phone to see missed calls and messages from Coulier, John Stamos, and Candace Cameron Bure. Ultimately, she learned the news after picking up a call from Jodie Sweetin.

Overall, while that story is sad, it also shows how tight-knit this cast is.

The Tanner family wasn’t just a family on-screen but in real life as well, and it’s one of the reasons why Full House is one of the best shows streaming on Max. It’s still hard to believe that it’s been almost three years since Bob Saget died, but it’s clear that his memory will continue on for years to come, especially if the cast is still constantly telling stories about him.

It’s been four years since Fuller House ended and nearly 30 years since Full House wrapped up, but both shows remain favorites today, thanks to streaming. There have been some discussions of another continuation series in the beloved franchise. Even Jodie Sweetin wants a Golden Girls-esque series at some point. Right now, though, Candace Cameron Bure, Andrea Barber and Dave Coulier are sharing their thoughts on where their characters would be today, and I am loving their predictions.

Fans were able to see where their favorite Full House characters ended up with Netflix revival Fuller House. That show provided a lot of growth for the the likes of D.J. Stephanie, Kimmy and more. Still, it's understandable that fans would have questions about the characters' current situations. At ‘90s Con in Florida, Andrea Barber told People that Kimmy would be an “empty-nester” now, with daughter Ramona off at college. Not only that, but Barber opined that her character would be spending most of her time “knitting, with cats.”

Dave Coulier also pointed out that Kimmy’s nest wouldn’t be completely empty, joking that she would “have a nest full of ostrich eggs,” a reference to Kimmy’s pet ostrich. So, she wouldn’t just have cats, she would also have an ostrich or two. And I can only imagine the trouble that would cause in that household. In all honestly, I wouldn't mind a spinoff centered solely on the Gibbler-Hernandez-Guerrero-Fernandez-Guerrero family, given the wild potential it would have.

As for D.J., who finally marrying Steve after all these years, Candace Cameron Bure shared that the two high school sweethearts are still happily in love and living their best life. That’s probably also on top of the calls she’s likely getting from her BFF about her many animals. Cameron Bure specifically said:

As a lifelong fan of Steve and D.J., I could not be happier that Candace Cameron Bure believes that the two are still together, raising Jackson, Max and Tommy and having the time of their lives. It’s also not so surprising, considering Bure occasionally posts about the fan-favorite couple, despite some fans still thinking D.J. should have ended up with Matt.

Meanwhile, Dave Coulier believes Joey Gladstone would be living a bit of a different life compared to what fans saw on Fuller House. I'm not so sure fans would've expected the comedian to deliver the following response:

Since Joey had a wife and kids and was living in Vegas during the events of Fuller House, this answer is a bit odd -- unless something happened with the family. It's honestly hard to imagine a big family living in a van and the notion that Mr. Woodchuck is still in the picture. Nevertheless, that's a quirky idea for a sitcom if there ever was one, and I wouldn't mind seeing a Venice Beach-set show like this. The additional thoughts that Coulier shared also have me sold on the concept:

I still believer there are stories to tell within the Full House universe and would love nothing more than to have another series. While it would be sad to have a new show without franchise alum Bob Saget, who died in 2022, I'm sure the cast and crew would honor Danny Tanner in a fitting way. Of course, for now, Candace Cameron Bure, Andrea Barber and Dave Coulier's predictions are far from canon. So let's hope a new show happens in which such developments can actually play out.

Surprisingly, The Real Ghostbusters remains a children’s show that is rarely discussed these days, given its status as a classic Saturday morning cartoon that still holds up. While the Ghostbusters movies have their ups and downs, the animated series has consistently received positive acclaim. Now, the franchise has an exciting new chapter coming, as Netflix officially greenlit its new animated series that promises to bring the ghost-hunting team back into the spotlight. This development is thrilling, but I have one significant hope for the series: the return of the original animated voice cast.

According to Variety, Netflix has officially ordered the new and not-yet-titled animated series, which marks a significant leap forward for a project that has been in development since 2022. Adding to the excitement is the news that comedian and former head writer of The Daily Show with Jon Stewart, Elliott Kalan, will serve as the writer and executive producer of this eagerly anticipated series.

The original Ghostbusters cartoon was not only one of the few hit cartoons based on a movie that was known for its consistent quality, but it is easily one of the best animated shows of all time—featuring engaging paranormal action, with producers expaning on the lore established in Ivan Reitman's 1984 blockbuster, and excellent voice acting. Key roles included Maurice LaMarche as Egon Spengler, Frank Welker as Dr. Raymond Stantz, Lorenzo Music as Dr. Peter Venkman (later replaced by Dave Coulier), and Buster Jones/Arsenio Hall as Winston Zeddemore.

As we fans anticipate this new animated adventure, I truly hope the producers find a way to bring the original cast members back in some capacity. Though the original voice actors for Peter Venkman and Winston Zeddemore have sadly passed away, their replacements, Dave Coulier and Arsenio Hall, are still active within the pop culture zeitgest, while Maurice LaMarche and Frank "Scooby-Doo" Welker have remained as busy as ever in recent years.

Bringing the old school crew back for the new series could be an excellent opportunity to bridge the three-decade-long gap between Ghostbusters II and the 2021 reboot Ghostbusters: Afterlife. Think about it–what if they gave this new entry the X-Men ‘97 treatment and picked up the storyline from 1991!? It might seem too good to be true, but you never know!

In the 1990s, the franchise saw a revival with the most 90s take on the property you can imagine with an appropriately 90s title: Extreme Ghostbusters. (Seriously, get a load of this intro.) The series did a great job of containing the storyline from the original cartoon, and it went all out in bringing back some of the O.G. voice cast, notably Maurice LaMarche as Egon Spengler. So there's precedence!

The new series hails from Sony Pictures Animation, with Ghostbusters stalwarts Jason Reitman and Gil Kenan of Ghost Corps, Inc. also on board as executive producers. Reitman and Kenan have revitalized the universe with recent films like Afterlife and the freshly released Frozen Empire. Their involvement in this project hopefully ensures a seamless continuation of the franchise's trademark blend of humor and spectral adventures.

As production progresses, the potential for an all-star voice cast only adds to the anticipation. Whether we see the return of familiar voices or new talent stepping into the roles, one thing is certain: the Ghostbusters are back in action and ready to haunt our screens again, and I’m beyond here for it.

Unfortunately, the animated series isn't currently available to stream. However, Ghostbusters fans can still enjoy the franchise's films. Who Wants to Be a Millionaire returned not too long ago in the 2024 TV schedule, with new sets of celebrities ready to tackle trivia in the hopes of winning up to $1 million for charity. There has been plenty of fun with John Mulaney and Nick Kroll burning through lifelines as well as Lisa Ann Walter and Rosie O'Donnell showing off pun skills. The latest episode teamed up Full House alums John Stamos and Dave Coulier, and I knew I was going to rewatch as soon as it took them a minute and some debate to answer a Law & Order: SVU question... when Stamos himself was on SVU! Luckily, rewatching won't be a challenge with a Hulu subscription.

After the two sitcom stars made their entrances, Dave Coulier announced that he was playing for Children's Hospital of Michigan Foundation while John Stamos was playing for Childhelp. The men pretty much cruised through the first five questions, but they weren't so confident when they faced a question about TV, of all things, and they made the situation pretty entertaining... at least for me, as a Law & Order viewer! The $2,000 question posed to the Full House alums by host Jimmy Kimmel was:

Now, if you are a Law & Order: SVU fan who watched the milestone 25th season, you probably knew right away that Rockefeller Plaza was renamed for Olivia Benson earlier this year, and maybe even seen Mariska Hargitay's photos from it. Still, the four options for Stamos and Coulier were all shows that premiered 25 years ago:

• A. The West Wing
• B. Family Guy
• C. Law & Order: Special Victims Unit
• D. The Sopranos

Now, of course not everybody is going to be an SVU expert or have seen enough of these shows to narrow down the four to one. But Stamos and Coulier are such a great comedic duo that their debate was fun to watch, made all the more so for me due to the fact that I've definitely seen Stamos' episode of Law & Order: SVU more than once thanks to USA Network marathons. He guest-starred opposite Mariska Hargitay as Olivia Benson in Season 12, back in 2011.

And to his credit, Stamos admitted as much, and I'm not entirely convinced that he didn't 100% know the correct answer but just didn't want to commit when it was funnier for him to not know. Coulier said that they "couldn't be friends" if they got the question wrong with all four lifelines still at their disposal, but Stamos worked himself up to commit to SVU as their final answer... although he looked pretty nervous while waiting for Kimmel to reveal whether or not he was right!

Fortunately, Stamos did get the correct answer, and earned a kiss on the cheek from Coulier for it. All in all, I would certainly watch more episodes of just the two Full House veterans cracking jokes in front of Jimmy Kimmel. I'm not the only SVU fan who got a kick out of the former SVU guest star struggling over Olivia Benson, though, as there was definitely some commentary on X (formerly known as Twitter):

It’s been almost 37 years since fans were first introduced to the Tanner family and friends, as Full House premiered way back in 1987. It’s hard to imagine life without the Tanners, Uncle Jesse, Aunt Becky, Joey, and even Kimmy, despite her being one of the most annoying characters on popular sitcoms. It’s also hard to think of Dave Coulier’s Joey Gladstone not having his famous last name, and it's because of Coulier that he has it in the first place. However, the real origins of that surname probably wouldn't be well-liked by the clean-cut Tanners.

Dave Coulier's Full House rewatch podcast, which is called Full House Rewind, has given both him and fans the chance to look back at the TGIF sitcom and discus some behind-the-scenes secrets. One of the most recent tidbits to be divulged is how Joey Gladstone’s name came to be. If Danny and Jesse had an intense reaction to DJ drinking beer, I don’t know what they’d say if they ever found out the true nature behind “Gladstone." Coulier explained the idea, which involved a personal activity he'd engaged in back in the day:

It's cool to know that the actor was able to pick Joey’s last name himself, since usually most character names are already thought up by the time casting is all said and done. While at first you may not think of “Gladstone” being anything other than just an innocent moniker, your thinking on it could surely change after hearing the story above. Honestly, I think Danny Tanner would put his foot down even if heard that his adult pal Joey was getting stoned and expressing happiness over it.

However, from a behind-the-scenes standpoint, it probably shouldn't be too surprising that one of the Full House cast's adults would have such a thought. They may have been on a squeaky clean show with heartfelt storylines, but the stars themselves weren't so spotless. One time John Stamos even took Coulier and Bob Saget to a strip club amid their days on the hit show. It's also now known that some pretty NSFW language was even used on set from time to time. That shouldn't be too surprising either, especially with the late, great Saget as part of the ensemble.

The origin of Joey Gladstone's name is just one piece of information that Dave Coulier has revealed on his podcast, as other hidden gems like that one await. In January 2022, many of us were met with the tragic news that Bob Saget had died at the age of 65 due to head trauma he sustained. The comedian was widely mourned by fans as well as fellow celebrities across Hollywood. Aside from his family, those who seemed to take his passing particularly hard were his co-stars from Full House. Many of them, including John Stamos and Candace Cameron Bure, have honored Saget in the time since he departed this life. Most recently though, Bure, Stamos and a few others got together to pay tribute to the late comedian on the two-year anniversary of his death.

It’s honestly hard to believe that the late star has already been gone for so long. His longtime friends and colleagues from the hit ABC sitcom and its Netflix sequel series still seem to be processing it as well. Jesse Katsopolis actor John Stamos released a joint message alongside Joey Gladstone portrayer Dave Coulier on Instagram. The post included a video clip of the two actors discussing their late co-star alongside fellow castmates Jodie Sweetin, Candace Cameron Bure and Andrea Barber. Stamos, while speaking, admitted that he’s “not sure” how to feel as he begins to adjust to his buddy’s absence. That was the kind of sentiment that was conveyed in the caption: 

As emotional as those thoughts are, the conversation amongst the cast members (who assembled virtually) was even more moving. Jodie Sweetin opened up about sometimes feeling that she still sees her on-screen dad out of the corner of her eye. Dave Coulier and Andrea Barber discussed their fun phone correspondences with the Danny Tanner actor, which included long-winded songs and humorously neurotic calls. Candace Cameron Bure shed tears after her TV uncle revealed a clip from her wedding day. While Bure misses her mentor, she mentioned that she takes solace in being able to grieve alongside others. This cast has always seemed close, and it’s moments like these that further drive home that point. If you ask some of them, they would argue that their bond was maintained by Bob Saget. Stamos referred to him as “the glue” that held their ensemble of actors together through thick and thin. To that point, during this latest meet-up, Dave Coulier sweetly mentioned that Saget “gave” them the tender moment they were having together. That’s a lovely sentiment if there ever was one.

The tight-knit group has also remained close with the America's Funniest Home Videos alum’s family, including his widow, Kelly Rizzo, and three daughters from his previous marriage to Sherri Kramer. Shortly after the stand-up comedy veteran’s death, Rizzo thanked fans for helping her cope with the grief. She and John Stamos also appeared at an awards ceremony, where they accepted an honor on the star’s behalf. 

It would be a gross understatement to say that there’s a serious void not just in the world of comedy but in society as a whole now that Bob Saget is no longer with us. What’s comforting, though, is that his memory will live on, and that’s not just because of his exceptional work. As long as John Stamos, Candace Cameron Bure and more continue to remember him in sweet ways, he won’t be forgotten. 

Those who’d like to remember Bob Saget can check out his beloved movie and TV roles. That includes his work on Full House and Fuller House, which are accessible to Max subscribers and Netflix subscription holders, respectively.

Full House has been bringing the laughs since the late ‘80s and is one of the best shows streaming on Max. Even today, the sitcom is beloved by many. From having many fan-favorite TGIF characters to plenty of classic catchphrases, it’s clear that Full House is arguably one of the best sitcoms ever. While it’s hard to picture the series with any other hilarious cast members, there was one point when John Stamos thought Dave Coulier couldn’t cut it as Joey Gladstone.

Stamos was a guest on Coulier’s rewatch podcast, Full House Rewind, where the friends and former co-stars discussed all things Full House, among many other topics. The duo talked about the early days of the ABC comedy, and Stamos admitted he didn’t think Coulier was funny enough:

Considering Joey Gladstone was a comedian, it would be hard to play him and not be funny, which was certainly not the case for Dave Coulier, even if John Stamos thought so. Luckily, it sounds like creator Jeff Franklin was adamant about Coulier’s talents. It’s a good thing, too, because after seeing what he could really do, Stamos was definitely convinced that Coulier was funny:

Stamos likely just had to see Coulier in his element to know that he was truly hilarious. Getting that kind of praise all those years later, and the fact that he still remembers exactly how he felt when he saw Coulier doing his thing, is perhaps some of the highest praise the actor could receive. At least from a friend. Not to mention the fact that Uncle Jesse and Joey went on to become not only friends but partners in the jingle business, and I really can’t imagine anyone else in either role.

The General Hospital alum also mentioned that he and Coulier “immediately had chemistry,” and they got up to shenanigans that the writers played off of for the series. So, it’s not surprising to hear just how quickly Stamos changed his mind about Coulier’s comedy. The two are definitely one of the best parts about Full House because they worked so well together, and the fact that they hit it off off-camera as well likely helped a lot.

Their first meeting was not the only topic that was discussed when they got together for Full House Rewind. Stamos recalled working with Bob Saget on Full House, and he once again opened up about the show’s early days, which weren’t always easy. The series did manage to run for eight seasons, and it got a reboot on Netflix years later, which shows that they did something right, and the comedic talent and chemistry among the cast has a lot to do with it. 

While the Full House cast may not be as close as they once used to be, especially considering Candace Cameron Bure and Jodie Sweetin’s complex relationship, the chemistry will always be there. John Stamos previously opened up about how he managed to "piss off" Bob Saget early on. He shared that as a way of getting meatier material, he cultivated the close relationship between his character, Uncle Jesse, and his little niece, Michelle, which Saget did not like. That contributed to the friction between the two, and Stamos summed up how Saget was at the time with the following sentiments he shared on Dave Coulier's Full House Rewind:

It’s hard to imagine the two not getting along, considering how close they grew over the years. However, that tracks with their on-screen relationships. At first, Uncle Jesse Katsopolis was just the brother-in-law who moved into the Tanner household, after the death of his sister, help raise his nieces with Danny and his friend, Joey Gladstone. Jesse and Danny would sometimes be odds due to the former's unconventional methods of child-rearing. 

As time went on, Jesse struck up a friendship with Joey, played by Dave Coulier. The writers took notice of the chemistry between Coulier and Stamos, which benefited them. All the while, though, Bob Saget apparently received the short end of the stick:

Of course, John Stamos and Bob Saget grew close over the years and became like brothers. Stamos previously shared that Saget was the glue and that the cast's dynamic hasn't been the same since his death. During the sitcom's run, Saget began to receive more of the spotlight on the show. As John Stamos went on to point out, his old buddy always loved to get laughs -- would do what he felt was necessary to get them:

Bob Saget is greatly missed, but it's been wonderful hearing his co-stars share interesting anecdotes like this since his passing. John Stamos, in particular, has been sharing memories of him in recent months and even included stories about him and their Full House days in his new memoir. The Grandfathered alum also shared a sweet moment he experienced the night Saget died. While it's still hard to fathom that Saget is no longer with us, I'm thankful for his memory and that he was able to push through the early issues he had on the show to become one of the best TV dads ever.

When you think of an ensemble of actors who are incredibly close, one of the first groups that probably comes to mind is the Full House cast. The ABC sitcom has been off the air for nearly 30 years now, but the actors still seem to be incredibly close. They show their love for each other in various ways – one of which is by sharing throwbacks to their time on the beloved sitcom. John Stamos, who famously played Uncle Jesse during all eight seasons, was the latest to drop a nostalgic post, and it featured everyone, including the Olsen twins. And while that was sweet enough, it was Jodie Sweetin’s response that really had me in my feels.

John Stamos has recently been promoting his new book, If You Would Have Told Me: A Memoir, which dives into a number of aspects of his life and career. As part of the campaign, he shared a video to his Instagram, which included vintage BTS footage from his days working on Full House (which can be streamed with a Max subscription). The clip, which is voiced over by Stamos, features sweet moments, from him and co-star Lori Loughlin with their faux twin sons to Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen just looking all-around adorable. Don’t mind me, I've just got something in my eye. But in all seriousness though, this isn’t just a lovely portrait of the 60-year-old actor’s tenure on the show. It’s also a sweet representation of the bond amongst the various stars. I can’t think of a better tribute to this warm ensemble. 

It was probably a given that other members of the cast were going to share thoughts. Joey Gladstone actor Dave Coulier chimed in with a sweet response, expressing his love for his found family and commending his co-star on his new book. But again, Jodie Sweetin’s comment really took the cake and probably aligned with the feelings that fans had when they saw the post: 

How can you not love seeing so much affection shown between these stars? Collectively, the footage and the cast responses to it are bittersweet, especially considering that series star Bob Saget is no longer with us. John Stamos recently described Saget as “the glue” that held the cast together and, at this point, it’s starting to look like Stamos is succeeding him in that position. 

Bob Saget is only one of the topics that John Stamos opens up about in his book, which is incredibly raw. Among the topics he discusses in it (as well as during interviews) are the sexual abuse he experienced at his babysitter’s hand and his battles with alcohol, which Fuller House helped save him from. As you can see based on their messages, Jodie Sweetin, Dave Coulier and more are totally supportive of him, and it makes my heart proud to see how these actors continue to lean on each other.

On Full House and Netflix’s revival, Fuller House, the Tanner family seems to be incredibly close and, historically, that's also been true when it comes to the cast. But lately, it's seemed that some of the stars haven't totally been on the same page. After Candace Cameron Bure made heavily criticzed statements about “traditional marriage” amid her move from Hallmark to rival GAF, co-star Jodie Sweetin seemed to take offense. While there have been rumors of a feud between them for months, Bure now appears to be trying to bury the hatchet. Yet it seems only colleague Dave Coulier who's truly being receptive.

Near the end of 2022, Jodie Sweetin spoke out about being an LGBTQ ally after Candace Cameron Bure shared her statement. While at the time, sources claimed they were beefing, neither actress has directly derided the other in public. In fact, they're set to reunite at ‘90s Con in Connecticut this September, where they'll meet up with Full House fans. Ahead of that meet-up, the former Hallmark star took to Instagram to share some behind-the-scenes images from the Fuller House set and said she’s “Missing this feeling, along with the laughs”:

The sweet and heartwarming photos included Dave Coulier, Scott Weinger, Jodie Sweetin, and Andrea Barber. However, only Coulier and Weinger replied, and both agreed that they miss those cast moments as well. But Coulier was particularly enthusiastic, saying that it “sounds like we need to do Fullest House!” While we can't speak to Candace Cameron Bure's exact relationships with Sweetin and Barber right now, it would at least appear that Coulier is still in her corner. 

Dave Coulier hasn't directly addressed any alleged friction between his longtime co-stars. However, he has been candid about dealing with occasional cast squabbles in general, explaining that he usually serves as a neutral party or mediator. Coulier himself seems to have good relationships with his colleagues.

The comedian's latest comment about a hypothetical Fullest House is likely to get fans excited as well. It's an idea that's been discussed by the stars off and on, and some of them even have ideas for such a show. Jodie Sweetin shared an A+ idea for a new series, a la Golden Girls, which would see the "She-Wolf Pack" back together. Though that would mean she'd also be working with Candace Cameron Bure again. 

One would hope that if there truly are issues amongst the ensemble, they'll be resolved. John Stamos was allegedly devastated that his Full House family wasn't on the same page. And surely hardcore fans may also be sad to think that the tight-knit group isn't as solid as it's always been.

Though Candace Cameron Bure's post hasn't received much love from co-stars as of this writing, it's possible that others could weigh in as time goes on. What'll be most interesting to see is how she and Jodie Sweetin interact when they meet up at '90s Con. One hopes that they'll share some tender moments while participating in the festivities. I'm sure such a development would delight their TV uncle, Dave Coulier, as well.

It’s been just over three years since fans had to say goodbye to the Tanner family a second time after Netflix’s Fuller House came to an end. While the Full House revival included many familiar faces and callbacks to the beloved TGIF sitcom, the was a glaring hole in the cast, and that was the expected absence of Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen. The cast has opened up throughout the years about their feelings regarding the Olsen Twins not returning, and Dave Coulier was the latest to share his thoughts.

The Olsen Twins skyrocketed to superstardom at a young age when they were starring in Full House. After that, they went on to star in tons of movies and started a production company. These days aren't seen on screen much and they've moved into the world of fashion. When it came to the Fuller House reunion, they decided to not return, and Dave Coulier told Yahoo! Entertainment that the twins have it a bit different than the rest of the cast since they did start the show so young:

Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen were nine months old when they were cast as Michelle, meaning they spent basically the first eight years of their lives on the series. Since then, they haven't really participated in any reunions. However, that doesn’t necessarily mean they don’t want anything to do with Full House since they did attend Bob Saget’s memorial in 2022. 

Considering the twins retired from acting over 10 years ago, it wasn’t surprising that they weren’t on Fuller House, but I think many of us were hoping they'd pop up.

Being a child star and starting so young, even before you can talk, is not easy. Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen were pretty much on the go for years, and being the youngest on the cast for the first five seasons as the show’s popularity grew probably made it even harder. Even though they did get to have family at work, as Elizabeth Olsen recalled being on the Full House set and seeing the audience and her sisters acting, being in that environment at a young age is likely taxing, and Dave Coulier understood it all:

With the Olsen Twins being so young on Full House, it sometimes made things hard, as John Stamos got them temporarily fired. Meanwhile, Fuller House poked fun at Mary-Kate and Ashley not appearing in the series, as it occasionally mentioned Michelle being too busy with her fashion empire to come home. It seems that everything is fine with them and the ensemble though, and while they didn't appear in the series, it’s nice to know they still support their castmates and vice versa.

A return for Michelle Tanner may not be in the cards any time if there’s another Full House spinoff, but things could always change. Since the Olsen Twins have been out of the game for a while and don’t seem to be in any rush to return to their acting roots, at least they’re not opposed to reuniting with their former co-stars. We all know the basic premise behind Full House — dad of three Danny Tanner enlists his best friend and brother-in-law, asking them to move into his house rent-free in exchange for helping him raise his three daughters following the death of his wife. For eight years (and then for decades longer in syndication and on streaming) we came to know and love D.J., Stephanie and Michelle, and the hijinks they got into with their dad, Uncle Joey and Uncle Jesse. Wait, what do you mean that’s not right? Jodie Sweetin just spoke out about a common mistake made regarding the Tanners, and I am in shock.

Jodie Sweetin, who played the middle Tanner child, wanted to set the record straight about Dave Coulier’s Joey Gladstone and his relationship to Stephanie and her sisters. While Jesse Katsopolis (John Stamos) was the brother of Danny’s wife, Joey did not hold the same status within the family. On her Full House rewatch podcast How Rude, Tanneritos!, Sweetin staunchly proclaimed of Joey: 

What do you mean you never called him “Uncle Joey”?! Of course I understand that he was not related by blood or marriage to Bob Saget’s Danny Tanner, but I’m pretty sure I have always referred to him as an uncle for honorary purposes, because he was definitely part of the family. Didn’t everybody?

A quick search I did through some Full House clips resulted in zero instances of “Uncle Joey,” so consider my mind blown. I don’t know if this is a Mandela Effect situation, but the moniker had to start somewhere, because — according to Jodie Sweetin herself — Mr. Gladstone was indeed promoted to “uncle” status in the Netflix spinoff Fuller House. The podcast host continued: 

Jodie Sweetin said she didn’t argue with Joey being deserving of the title — although she sounds pretty quick to correct people — but she’ll definitely be keeping her ear out for it, as she and Andrea Barber (aka Kimmie Gibler) embark on their 192-episode rewatch of the classic sitcom. She said she’ll feel “vindicated” if she turns out to be correct. 

Speaking of Dave Coulier, he launched his own podcast days ahead of his TV non-niece; however, after just the first episode he announced Full House Rewatch will be on hiatus until the end of the SAG-AFTRA strike. How Rude, Tanneritos! has not taken similar action — as of this writing at least — so you can continue to enjoy that podcast, while also snooping for “Uncle Joey” references by streaming Full House with your Max subscription or Hulu subscription. 

In recent years, rewatch podcasts have risen in popularity with casts from classic shows posting weekly episodes filled with insight and untold behind-the-scenes stories. Now, the classic 1990s sitcom Full House is getting this treatment as series star Dave Coulier hopped into the arena with his Full House Rewind podcast. However, even though the rewatch podcast just premiered, the Uncle Joey actor released a statement about the future of his podcast amid the actors' strike.

Coulier’s Full House Rewind podcast premiered on July 21. However, the sitcom veteran took to his Instagram account to make a surprise announcement about how the strikes will impact his show. He wrote:

Considering the SAG-AFTRA strike, Dave Coulier felt it was right to pause the podcast until the situation is resolved. It sounds like the actor had an amazing guest list lined up next too, including Uncle Jesse himself John Stamos. The podcast already started strong with Full House creator Jeff Franklin, and I presume it will continue to when it comes back. 

The Fuller House star delved more into the circumstances surrounding Full House Rewind’s momentary pause. He noted that the union has asked rewatch podcasts to hit pause or pivot their content as the strike continues. Coulier’s announcement shed some light on the current state of rewatch podcasts. This new development in the actors' strike now calls into question other shows in the category. The Uncle Joey actor’s former castmates Jodie Sweetin and Andrea Barber started another Full House rewatch podcast How Rude, Tanneritos! Despite working on competing podcasts, Sweetin and Coulier both had a big love fest for the late Bob Saget in their debut episodes. Now, it’s uncertain if their podcast will pause following some TGIF love from Boy Meets World’s Danielle Fishel.

There’s also Fishel’s Pod Meets World, Even More Stevens, Ned’s Declassified Podcast Survival Guide, and more nostalgic podcasts currently dropping episodes. Those shows might pause as well if SAG has changed its stance on actors doing podcasts.

Dave Coulier Dedicates Podcast Premiere To Bob Saget 

The first episode of Full House Rewind featured Dave Coulier’s interview with series creator Jeff Franklin, who talked about how the cast came together, the “bizarre” audition process for Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen and how Bob Saget was a late addition to the Tanner family. At the end of the episode, the actor who played Joey Gladstone — Danny Tanner’s best friend — seemed to fight back tears as he paid tribute to Saget, who died of a head trauma in January 2022. He shared the episode’s final moments on Instagram: 

Dave Coulier not only dedicated the premiere to the late comedian, but he said he will end each episode with a “Full House hug,” as Bob Saget was known for his hugs. The post (and the podcast itself) caught the attention of Kelly Rizzo, Saget’s widow, who reposted his video to her own social media with a sweet message: 

It sounds like Kelly Rizzo might be tuning in for that weekly Full House hug, and when it comes to Tanner love, it turns out she’s got options. 

Jodie Sweetin And Andrea Barber Explain How Bob Saget’s Death Inspired Their Podcast 

Jodie Sweetin, who played middle child Stephanie Tanner, and Andrea Barber, the omnipresent neighbor Kimmy Gibler, kicked off their own rewatch pod, and even got support from fellow ‘90s child actor Danielle Fishel of Boy Meets World. Their show is called How Rude, Tanneritos!, which fans will recognize as the combination of two of their characters’ catchphrases. Sweetin and Barber both expressed excitement to relive their childhood memories and document them, since the loss of Bob Saget last year was a sobering reminder that tomorrow isn’t promised. Barber explained: 

Jodie Sweetin has spoken about how much she misses Bob Saget many times over the past year and a half, and there’s no doubt the Tanner patriarch’s presence will continue to be felt as both of these podcasts continue. Without a doubt, one of the things that made Full House so successful back in the day — and contributed to its longevity — was the chemistry between the members of the Tanner family, and it’s been special to see how strong their relationships have remained over the decades. But sisters will be sisters, and just like we saw D.J. and Stephanie butt heads sometimes on the family-friendly sitcom, Candace Cameron Bure and Jodie Sweetin were in disagreement last year over the GAF actress’ comment about “traditional marriage.” Dave Coulier recently spoke about where he stands when members of his TV family don’t see eye to eye.

Candace Cameron Bure and Jodie Sweetin don’t require the intervention that D.J. and Stephanie did on show — when any combination of Bob Saget’s Danny, Dave Coulier’s Joey and John Stamos’ Jesse would swoop in to help the girls find common ground. When it comes to real-world squabbles between the former cast members these days, Coulier told Yahoo! Entertainment that he’s “always been Switzerland.” He said: 

It sounds like the comedian refuses to take sides when his friends argue, and that the family members are sticking together, even when they have disagreements with each other. Dave Coulier’s comments fall in line with what the Full and Fuller House actors have said in the past regarding any sibling rivalry. 

When Jodie Sweetin and Candace Cameron Bure reunited for 90s Con in March, Bure assured fans that the cast is “family to the core,” and no matter what’s going on, the love is always there between them. Dave Coulier, who played the girls’ honorary uncle Joey Gladstone on Full House, added that they go through things too, just as any family does.

While Uncle Joey seems to see the rumored beef between the actresses as a typical part of any family dynamic, Uncle Jesse might be having a tougher time with it. Following reports earlier this year that Candace Cameron Bure had unfollowed Jodie Sweetin on Instagram in the aftermath of Bure’s comment about LGBTQ+ representation in holiday movies, John Stamos was reportedly “devastated” that his “perfect” TV family had been turned upside-down.

Candace Cameron Bure, who left Hallmark for Great American Family in 2022, told the Wall Street Journal last November that she thought her new network — where she serves as the chief creative officer — would “keep traditional marriage at the core” of its holiday programming. Jodie Sweetin supported actors who spoke out against her TV sister, including JoJo Siwa and Holly Robinson Peete, and Bure reportedly took issue with the LGBTQ+ ally addressing her concerns publicly, rather than talking it out one-on-one.

Whether the tension still exists between the two, or it’s all water under the Golden Gate Bridge, Candace Cameron Bure and Jodie Sweetin are set to reunite once more, as they will both be attending 90s Con in Tampa, Florida, in September. The suggestion led to the beloved TV icon spilling about the time he, Saget, and Coulier tried sneaking into an exotic dance club during Full House’s early days. He said:

Unfortunately, the trio’s cover got blown. They just wanted to be regular strip club patrons, not the father figures from a family comedy. Saget’s earlier trepidation was called for in retrospect. The moment would’ve been less embarrassing if the co-stars were known from a raunchy buddy comedy or a gritty drama.

However, Bob Saget was seen as one of America’s top sitcom dads while John Stamos and Dave Coulier were the lovable live-in uncles. While the time was fuzzy, the strip club excursion might’ve taken place after Season 1. Going incognito would’ve worked before the sitcom aired, but, after the show became a hit, they were too recognizable to sneak into a club.

The strip club trip sounded vastly different from the final day Stamos spent with Saget at Disneyland before the stand-up comedian's death. Like fans and his Full House co-stars, the ER alum has continued celebrating the late comedian’s legacy. His heartfelt and slightly raunchy eulogy was a testament to the duo’s decades-long friendship, which was difficult in the early days. The TV icon and his co-stars even showed Bob Saget love as they celebrated the ABC sitcom’s 35th anniversary.

Despite Saget's absence, John Stamos and Dave Coulier have kept the friendship going. The two actors have reunited at many conventions and fan meetings since Saget’s passing. They even teamed up for a fun dance video ahead of Coulier’s rewatch podcast Full House Rewind launching. So, the trio’s lifelong bond continues to live on.

I certainly didn’t have a video like this on my bingo card today, but I’m not mad that I have it. The two actors seem like an unlikely pair of friends on the surface, and that was indeed the case when it came to their characters. While the Big Shot star’s Jesse Katsopolis and the Real Ghostbusters alum’s Joey Gladstone were polar opposites, they had great chemistry. And quite frankly, this feels like the kind of antic Joey and Jesse would’ve done on the show at some point. (Social media wouldn’t have factored in, of course, since it wasn’t established years ago, but I digress.)

To be honest, it’s honestly amazing that this rewatch podcast is only happening now. These types of webcasts have cropped up frequently during the past several years. Stars of hit series like The Sopranos, The Office, Smallville and Boy Meets World (another TGIF sitcom) have gotten in on the trend. Full House still has a strong following, and Dave Coulier has a lively personality himself. So all in all, this new endeavor seems like a no-brainer. 

Fans will be excited to know that a plethora of guest stars have already been lined up for the show, too. Per Variety, in addition to John Stamos, series creator Jeff Franklin, Gia Mahan actress Marla Sokoloff and even Kim Possible icon Christy Carlson Romano are set to pop in. It’s easy to imagine some fun conversations coming out of the upcoming episodes. 

Dave Coulier’s on-camera and behind-the-scenes shenanigans are well noted, and his recent social media video exemplifies that. He’s sure to bring some quirky (yet professional) energy to the recordings and drop some fun anecdotes – as he does from time to time. Coulier revealed he got to take home a great prop (the Mr. Woodchuck puppet) after the ‘80/’90s hit wrapped and admitted to once farting in one of the Olsen twins’ faces. I’m not sure if he’ll top that tale of flatulence, but I’m excited to see if he does. 

Of course, one also has to wonder if he and John Stamos have another good dance video in them. It’d be cool to see them move their bodies to the sounds of Salt-N-Pepa, Daft Punk or Taylor Swift. That may have just been a one-time sort of activity used exclusively for promoting the podcast, but who knows? Maybe they’ll surprise us again.

Full House Rewind drops its first episode on July 21 at 9 a.m. ET, and you can follow along by streaming the show itself using a Max subscription. Those who are really passionate and want to access all seasons of the sequel series Fuller House should also grab a Netflix subscription.

Being a parent can easily turn into one of the most frustrating experiences in the world, to say nothing of all the amazing moments and memories. And that frustration can stretch beyond normal means whenever one is dealing with disruptive kids that aren’t even theirs, such as it went for Full House star John Stamos in the earliest days of filming the ABC sitcom. While his Elvis-loving, jolly-rocking character Jesse may have exuded coolness and ‘anything goes” vibes, the actor himself wasn’t necessarily such a free spirit at the time, as indicated by Stamos directly and intentionally getting Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen fired just for being babies, albeit of the screaming and uncontrollable variety.

To be sure, John Stamos has spoken about getting the Olsens fired before in the past, though he was perhaps a bit more spirited in going back down that specific part of memory lane while appearing on the Good Guys Podcast with hosts Josh Peck and Ben Soffer. As fans probably remember, Stamos and Peck worked together on the Fox comedy Grandfathered (which naturally featured a noteworthy Full House reunion during its single season), and so the sitcom and soap opera vet definitely wasn’t shy about taking responsibility for getting a pair of 11-month-old kids fired. Here’s how he put it when Peck asked if he’d “tried” to get the Olsens canned. 

At that point, Josh Peck and Ben Soffer commented on the twins being so miserable, and joked that maybe Hollywood shouldn't put kids to work, and that maybe child actors should be protected more. (An idea that should probably be shouted from mountaintops in regards to Dave Coulier sharing a story about farting on one of the Olsens.)  Which then led into more of John Stamos self-awarely griping about babies around 35 years after the fact.

To be fair, Stamos was being mostly non-offending when bemusedly talking about Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen's replacements being not so attractive, but as soon as that came up, Peck and Soffer ran with the idea that redheads fall on both sides of extremes where looks are concerned, but not so much anywhere in the middle. Soffer also joked that you have to keep some of them in the closet, because "you just can't show these kids, I'm sorry," which made me laugh harder than I'd care to admit.

In any case, Stamos didn't make it sound like the ginger twins who were brought in were on the same kind of screaming-at-everything level as the Olsens, but he said it didn't last a week before he clamored for the producers to bring the original infants back into the role. 

Josh Peck was very curious to learn whether or not the redheaded twins' parents were knowledgable that their kids had just been fired due to Stamos' complaints, but the actor said he wasn't aware of what their situation was. But he did confirm, as it were, that the year-old twins were almost definitely clueless about getting shitcanned.

Maybe if we ever get another Full House spinoff, which Stamos has been wary about being open to, the producers can somehow talk the Olsens AND the unidentified redheaded twins into coming back. Not so likely, since the former duo were hard set against reprising the role of Michelle for Fuller House, but that's what dreams are for.

All eight seasons of Full House can be streamed with an HBO Max subscription, while the follow-up sitcom Fuller House’ five-season run is available for streaming with a Netflix subscription. And when you get to Season 8's episode featuring Shorty the Donkey, take a second to recall the guest-starring animal was particularly attracted to Stamos while filming, which he also wasn't very happy about.

Despite being one of the most exceedingly family-friendly sitcoms appealing to both parents and kids, Full House could definitely tap into some less-than-savory subject matter behind the scenes, thanks to the ribald sense of humor shared by adult stars Bob Saget, Dave Coulier and John Stamos. But as professional as they tried to keep it on the set, potentially offensive elements would sometimes just pop up out of nowhere, such as — [refers to notes] — the erection of a donkey who displayed more than a passing attraction to Stamos. 

Full House fanatics probably remember the Season 8 episode, “You Pet It, You Bought It,” in which Michelle spends hundreds of dollars on a take-home donkey from a petting zoo that ends up making everybody grumpy and miserable, and ol’ Shorty was never heard from again after the episode. (Fans can stream it with an HBO Max subscription or a Hulu subscription.) But that particular beast of burden factored into a more notorious set of memories for the TGIF sitcom’s stars thanks to the animal’s penchant for sporting an erection directly inspired by resident hottie John Stamos. 

Speaking for the Full House panel at ‘90s Con in March, cast members Dave Coulier, Jodie Sweetin, Candace Cameron Bure and Andrea Barber were asked about favorite and/or memorable guest stars from the O.G. comedy’s eight-season run. Someone brought up “Pepper Mill,” which was the nickname that Bob Saget gave the donkey for size-comparison purposes, and the former co-stars had to drop some zoological knowledge on the crowd of amused fans. 

• Jodie Sweetin: We had...was it a donkey?
• Dave Coulier: In the living room, which most American families have. 
• Jodie Sweetin: And let's just say that the donkey also found John Stamos to be highly attractive. He would let us all know whenever John walked into the room, yeah. I'm not kidding! It was, for some reason - maybe it was John's pheromones, I don't know what it was.

I know they can’t speak for how horny all the donkeys in the world get regarding John Stamos, but it appears as if ol’ Shorty/Pepper Mill wanted to show the General Hospital actor that he was, like, a big fan. Though not necessarily a modest one. In fact, Andrea Barber shared that there was a specific response the animal trainer would employ to try and discourage such arousal. In her words and arm motions:

Just when you thought it was safe to think that no animals were harmed or horny AF during the making of the show, we’re all finding out that wasn’t the case at all, at least for one week of filming. John Stamos’ appeal knows no bounds.

But for all that Sweetin, Coulier and Barber were readily joking about it, Candace Cameron Bure admitted she was riding blind where these particular memories were concerned. As she put it:

In some ways, I can totally understand a teenage girl wanting to repress the memory of witnessing an animal getting horny for a co-star. But then in other ways, I’m like, “How can somebody possibly forget that, intentionally or not?” I have to assume no one invited ol' Pepper Mill to Jodie Sweetin's wedding last year.

Bob Saget shared his take on the Pepper Mill saga in his book Dirty Daddy, and also spoke about the animal’s genitals while appearing on Conan back in 2013. Check that video out below.

Speaking of Bob Saget, Dave Coulier told a pretty great story about the late comedian dishing out the best possible "Cut it out" reference, and shared a story about farting on one of the Olsen twins that doesn't involve Saget, but is probably something he thought was funny.

When it comes to TV families whose bonds became just as strong in real life as they were on-screen, it’s hard to consider a more on-brand example than the Full House cast, who eagerly came together anew for Netflix’s Fuller House, since most had already stayed in touch over the years anyway. But perhaps the most irrefutable proof of the stars’ bonds being unbreakable? Everyone’s ability to live and thrive for all those years alongside Dave Coulier’s proclivity for farting, both authentically and in jest, which hilariously included acts such as passing gas right into one of the itty-bitty Olsen twins’ faces. [laughs like Popeye] Whoa. 

Dave Coulier reunited with co-stars of television and life Candace Cameron Bure, Jodie Sweetin and Andrea Barber for a fun and faux-flatulent Full House panel at the first of two ‘90s Con 2023 events, and I’d be remiss if I didn’t bring up the fact that one of the first things those in attendance witnessed from the Uncle Joey portrayer was him pretended to toot-toot on Sweetin as the four sat squished in on a single couch. (Tanner family style all the way, even if there was some bickering going on in the months prior.) Coulier also had quite a bit of fun throughout the panel testing the ASL interpreter’s ability to properly portray farts of varying sizes. 

So perhaps it shouldn’t have been a surprise to hear this delightfully icky tale that Jodie Sweetin set Coulier up for:

Obviously, everybody on stage and off started cracking up as he talked. And I think everyone can picture what Dave Coulier's face probably looked like at the time he gassed it up in one of the kids' faces. 

The Full House star continued joking about potentially having affected Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen's growth process, saying:

At least Dave Coulier's story didn't involve any malicious targeting, such as, for example, Peter Griffin running up and shoving Meg's face into his fart before running away. This isn't that, guys. It's just some innocent growth-dampening fizzle-fazz with an unsuspecting victim. Wait no, not victim. Let's say "fart-catcher." That sounds better. 

I might wonder if this was actually a one-time occurrence, or whether the actor had a penchant for farting on kids' heads. Beforehand, Jodie Sweetin told a story about being in a comedy club as a tiny kid and joked about being surprised that her growth wasn't stunted, as Coulier used to say. So did he also pull that move on Sweetin? On teen Candace Cameron? On the dog Comet? Perhaps it's best to let sleeping dogs/farting adult men lie. At least we know that's not the reason why the Olsen twins didn't appear on Fuller House.

During the '90s Con panel, Coulier also shared an excellent story about Bob Saget pulling off the best "Cut It Out" reference humanly possible, and joined the others in revealing what props they kept from the original show's set.

Of all the reasons why sitcoms from the TGIF era are worth celebrating, catchphrases tend to be pretty high on the list for fans, and Full House was like a factory in that sense, with nearly every character earning at least one familiar phrasing that has lived on throughout the years. From Uncle Jesse’s “Have mercy” to Michelle’s “You got it, dude” to D.J.’s “Oh Mylanta,” there are plenty of worthy examples to choose from, and you can be sure that the ensemble cast has heard those quotes shouted at them by viewers a time or two (million). But I think we can all agree that Bob Saget landed the most perfect use of Dave Coulier and Joey Gladstone’s signature line, “Cut it out.”

Beyond catchphrases, Full House was obviously also well-known for having tons of character-specific props, costumes and more callback-friendly elements that gave Fuller House an added layer of nostalgia-embracing fun. During the TGIF hit’s panel for ‘90s Con — featuring Coulier, Jodie Sweetin, Andrea Barber, and Candace Cameron Bure — the cast members were asked about instances where they’ve potentially used their characters’ famed catchphrases in real life. And after Jodie Sweetin offered up her answer (as seen below), Dave Coulier shared this fried gold memory about Bob Saget’s ability to spin referential hilarity out of making his co-star and BFF slightly miserable. In his words: 

That story easily earned one of the biggest laughs of any panel at '90s Con, and was also one of the most perfect stories to offer for that particular question. Bob Saget's comedy skills are clearly as timeless as they come, even if they sometimes involve getting his saliva-covered gum stuck in another person's hair. No one ever said making people laugh doesn't require sacrifices. Also, it seems like there was always some peanut butter handy inside the Tanners' kitchen to use in a quick pinch. Not sure how old that peanut butter would have been, but I already mentioned sacrifices. 

As many fans already know, the phrase and accompanying hand motions for "Cut it out" didn't originate with Full House, but rather Dave Coulier's prior Nickelodeon series Out of Control. I can only hope that if '80s Con ever comes to be, that we'll get an Out of Control panel that can dive into such facts in a decade-proper fashion.

As far as Jodie Sweetin's answer went on that particular matter, she of course talked about Stephanie Tanner's key catchphrase "How rude," and how she's come to embrace it in full. In her words:

Fan who want to peep out all the Full House catchphrases with a big rewatching sesh need only secure an HBO Max subscription, and such quotas can be fulfilled. 

During the panel, the cast also talked about the iconic Full House props that they took home from the set, while also sharing other stories about Bob Saget and their shared memories from the set.

Candace Cameron Bure was just 11 years old when Full House premiered in 1987, and Jodie Sweetin only 5. So it’s easy to see how playing sisters for eight years on TV would translate into a real-life sibling relationship. No family is without its disagreements, and a big one of theirs became public late last year amidst Bure’s controversial comments about “traditional marriage” in Christmas movies. The Tanner girls were reunited this weekend at 90s Con, where the Great American Family actress and her TV “uncle” Dave Coulier opened up about how the Full House cast tends to “bicker,” just like any real family.

In the aftermath of Candace Cameron Bure’s comments — in which the actress told the Wall Street Journal that she thought GAF would “keep traditional marriage at the core” of its holiday programming — Jodie Sweetin showed support for JoJo Siwa, who called the DJ Tanner actress’ words “rude and hurtful.” There seemed to be some tension between the actresses, as Bure allegedly unfollowed Sweetin on social media, and some wondered if that beef would make for an awkward “family” reunion. However, when Bure spoke to ET at 90s Con, she emphasized that nothing could ever come between any of the Full House cast, saying:

That’s not to say they don’t have their spats, Dave Coulier pointed out, telling the trade: 

Candace Cameron Bure, Dave Coulier and Andrea Barber made a return trip to Hartford, Connecticut, for 90s Con — where they divulged what props they kept from the set — and they were joined this year by Jodie Sweetin. The reunion comes just months after Sweetin’s public opposition of Bure, who was reportedly upset Sweetin didn’t address her concerns in private. In addition to expressing love for JoJo Siwa, the LGBTQ+ ally reposted a message from fellow Hallmark actress Holly Robinson Peete, who explained how “tradition” has often been used to justify discriminatory practices.

A little bickering between family members may be normal, but after the Full House alumni supported each other through the unexpected death of Bob Saget, one actor seemed particularly bothered by the sibling rivalry. John Stamos, who played Uncle Jesse, was reportedly “devastated” that things have turned upside down for his TV family.

While the TV sisters clearly don’t agree on everything, Candace Cameron Bure says the Tanner family bond is strong enough to endure, and it sounds like she’s still got plenty of love for Jodie Sweetin. All eight seasons of Full House are available for streaming with a Hulu subscription or HBO Max subscription, and Fuller House’s five seasons can be viewed by Netflix subscription holders. 

Few sitcom settings can instantly pop into TV audiences’ brains quite like the Tanner family’s abode in Full House, helped along by the fact that it was literally recreated for Fuller House 20 years later. I’d be surprised to meet a fan of the TGIF hit that hasn’t imagined having something from that set within their own homes, which means there are no doubt plenty of people out there who would be way jealous of stars Candace Cameron Bure, Jodie Sweetin, Dave Coulier and Andrea Barber for all of the props they’ve openly admitted to bringing home from their time on both shows. 

While reuniting for Full House’s audience-pleasing panel at ‘90s Con in Hartford, CT — the first of two ‘90s-focused events set for 2023 — the aforementioned quartet of stars reflected on their lives before, during and after the beloved sitcom’s ABC run. Early on in the panel, after Dave Coulier attempted to explain why farts are funny, the actors were asked about any memorable set items they took possession of once filming was completed. John Stamos was mentioned for having taken the living room couch, with Candace Cameron Bure bringing up her attempt to nab it from him. And then Coulier went and shared the best example possible (arguably), saying:

This pulled a noteworthy cheer from the crowd, as it should be. It’s possible that the good vibes from the crowd are why he didn’t share anything further about Mr. Woodchuck’s current state. I’d admittedly forgotten in the moment that Coulier previously offered fans a less-than-celebratory update on the marionette puppet’s fate in the time after Full House, sharing on Reddit that he’d kept the original prop, and then his Labrador Ranger ate Mr. Woodchuck’s face. Sigh. 

From there, Jodie Sweetin brought up a couple of the recognizable mementos that she liberated from the Full House set, so to speak, saying:

Okay, so having O.G. Mr. Bear is like, right behind having Mr. Woodchuck as a set prop, and I’m sure there are plenty of people who…would… prefer the teddy over the puppet. But I think we can all agree that Full House should have merchandised the hell out of both of those. Not to mention the sea-pappy statue. If Funko released a Pop version of just the sea-pappy’s head, I’d be all over that. 

Andrea Barber, who later brought up just how much she did not like Kimmy Gibbler’s outfits as a teenager going through emotions, shared this:

This might just be memory bias, but it seems like Barber would have roughly 200,000 hoop earrings, giant pink scuncis, jangly bracelets and more. Kimmy Gibbler knew how to pull a fashion ensemble together. Or she knew how to pull it completely apart. One of those. 

Finally, Candace Cameron Bure shared that she does indeed still have one of D.J. Tanner’s most memorable props, and shared that she also took a few family-specific things from the Fuller House set as well. In her words:

Anyone who started watching Full House at any point after the 1990s might not have any clue that the Pillow People were a huge toy line that existed outside the TGIF sitcom, though the popularity was relatively short-lived and largely limited to the late 1980s. The particular Pillow Person that D.J. favored was named Window Rattler.

For those who think it’d be amazing to live in the home whose exterior is used sparingly to represent the Tanner’s home, there’s proof to the contrary, with overeager and photo-happy fans making life difficult for those who have lived there. Hopefully events like ‘90s Con can help give fans like that someone more appropriate to show off their Full House adoration.

Candace Cameron Bure and Hallmark are no longer synonymous. The popular Christmas movies actress left the cabler more than a year ago for a rival network and her first movie for GAF has already proven the move to the new network has come with positives, despite a little controversy. Her shift has paid off in the form of awards wins, and now her Full House and Fuller House co-star Dave Coulier and some other GAC stars have reached out.

In a new post, Bure shared how proud she’s been of the work she and her producing team put into A Christmas… Present. Her Instagram comments come after she landed an award for Best Family Television at the MovieGuide Awards, a ceremony that touts itself as celebrating projects that are “wholesome, spiritually uplifting, inspirational, redemptive and moral.” 

While she thanked her TV family for all the work they had put into the movie, it was her industry friends who really reached out and responded. A slew of the individuals who also have shifted from Hallmark to GAC reached out, as did her Full House uncle -- that would be Joey -- Dave Coulier. See some of their responses.

It’s not a huge shock that Dave Coulier might have reached out, given he’s been supportive of the Full House cast in the past. It wasn’t just a big night for Bure either. It was also a good night for Lori Loughlin, who appeared onstage with Bure and who has found work on GAF since her role in the college admissions scandal landed her jail time. The event’s official page even commented about it being a “full house.”

Later in the post, the A Christmas… Present actress noted that she also won an award for her performance in the movie, noting that she is “full of gratitude and love” over the fact that her little cable Christmas movie, a movie she both produced and starred in, has landed so much attention. 

Candace Cameron Bure dealt with some backlash around the time of her 2022 Christmas movie release after she shared that GAC was hoping to focus more on “traditional marriage” storylines. While those comments seemingly didn’t sit well with her longtime co-star Jodie Sweetin and others in the industry, when the movie premiered, there were fans who spoke out on Twitter about enjoying how the movie focused on real marriage troubles, and how religion can help families to come together again.  

Her co-star Danica McKellar has contended that "Jesus loves and includes everyone," in a response to the backlash Bure faced. In her own reflection after she said GAF would be focusing on "traditional marriage," Bure blamed the media for seeking to divide people, also stating those who know her "know beyond question" that she has "great love and affection for all people." 

Meanwhile, other celebrities including LGBTQ+ star JoJo Siwa expressed not liking how the statement felt like exclusion. And Hilarie Burton referred to the "traditional marriage" comments as a "prejudice wave." Regardless, it seems like Bure has found an audience on her new network and she has made it clear that GAF is “continuing to grow” despite the controversy. She has also said she does believe cancel culture “is real,” and has noted that the response after her comments went widespread has been “difficult.”

Full House was a TV staple for kids growing up in the '90s, and the sitcom has proven its longevity, attracting new generations of fans through reruns and Candace Cameron Bure’s Netflix spinoff Fuller House. So it’s worthy of celebration that some of its cast will reunite at '90s Con in Connecticut. However, the March convention comes just months after Bure clashed with her TV sister Jodie Sweetin following the Great American Family star’s comments about keeping “traditional marriage” at the core of the network’s programming. Will tensions still be running high?

The DJ Tanner actress shared the good news on her Instagram, announcing that she and actress Jodie Sweetin — aka Stephanie Tanner — would be joined by Dave Coulier (“Uncle” Joey Gladstone) and Andrea Barber (Kimmy Gibler) at 90s Con: 

Jodie Sweetin is an addition to this year’s attendees, as Candace Cameron Bure, Dave Coulier and Andrea Barber appeared in 2022 with Scott Weinger, just two months after the tragic death of Full House patriarch Bob Saget. This year’s event falls months after another disturbance to the close-knit cast, as Sweetin spoke publicly in opposition to her TV sister’s comments about same-sex relationships being featured in holiday rom-coms.

Candace Cameron Bure came under fire in November for her comments about “traditional marriage,” with actresses like Holly Robinson Peete and Hilarie Burton calling her a “bigot.” JoJo Siwa also reignited her “rude” feud with the GAF star by saying that the intentional exclusion of LGBTQ+ stories in Christmas movies was hurtful to a whole community, prompting Jodie Sweetin and a number of other celebrities to support the Dance Moms alum. Sweetin also reposted one of fellow Hallmark actress Holly Robinson Peete’s Instagram Stories that discussed using the word “tradition” to justify discriminatory behavior.

Amid the backlash, Candace Cameron Bure reportedly unfollowed her TV sister on Instagram, and sources claimed she was upset that Jodie Sweetin made her disagreement public, rather than contacting her to talk it out one-on-one. It’s unknown whether that private conversation has happened in the past couple of months, but I guess we’ll see what happens when they reunite in Connecticut in March.

Danica McKellar, another GAF actor who jumped ship from Hallmark, is also scheduled to be at '90s Con with some of her co-stars from The Wonder Years. While she “set the record straight” regarding her own support for LGBTQ+ representation, she defended Candace Cameron Bure amid the “traditional marriage” brouhaha, saying her comments were misinterpreted.

In addition to the Full House and The Wonder Years gangs, '90s Con will feature stars from Clueless, Sabrina the Teenage Witch, Saved by the Bell, All That, Hocus Pocus and Buffy the Vampire Slayer, as well as members of the Backstreet Boys and ‘NSYNC (who are hopefully no longer sleeping in their cars).

On September 22, 1987, Full House made its premiere on ABC, introducing the world to the Tanner family. Bob Saget starred as widower Danny, who enlisted the help of brother-in-law Jesse Katsopolis and best friend Joey Gladstone to help him raise his three young girls after his wife’s death. America fell in love with the wholesome family hijinks, and a lot of that is likely due to the actual affection the actors developed for each other over the eight seasons. The cast proved again how strong that TV family dynamic remains, as they celebrated Full House’s 35th anniversary with sweet messages and throwback photos.

The TV Tanners stayed close following the end of the series in 1995, even reuniting in 2016 for the spinoff Fuller House (available to stream with a Netflix subscription). The full strength of the actors’ relationships, though, wasn’t known by many until we saw them rally together following Bob Saget’s death in January. As the Full House cast looked back at the show that changed their lives three and a half decades ago, you can bet the Tanner patriarch was present in pics and stories and spirit. Dave Coulier, who played Danny’s BFF Joey, said on Instagram that he’s been blessed: 

John Stamos, aka Uncle Jesse, shared some home video footage from 1994 that appeared to be from an outdoor photo shoot on a very windy day — with he and Lori Loughlin doing a commendable job of keeping Dylan and Blake Tuomy-Wilhoit (who played their toddlers Nicky and Alex) entertained. Candace Cameron Bure — the eldest Tanner sister DJ — said she remembered that day, and as per usual, there was a story about Bob Saget and his infinite kindness not far behind. She commented on John Stamos’ post: 

Candace Cameron Bure shared her own sweet photos to mark the 35th anniversary of Full House’s premiere, as she noted that her life had changed for the better, and her TV sister Jodie Sweetin was equally grateful in her own post, as she thanked fans for welcoming them into our homes for so many years: 

The Stephanie Tanner actress noted in the caption that it was a bittersweet anniversary, as it was their first without Bob Saget. Saget’s wife, however, appeared in the comments to ensure his TV daughters were showered with love. Kelly Rizzo commented: 

Even Scott Weinger got in on the Instagram fun with a hilarious image of his character Steve with DJ in period attire, as he joked about how long 35 years actually is.  

There’s nothing like a good Tanner love fest to raise the spirits, am I right? It may be 35 years since the sitcom premiered, but these memories live on for those of us who grew up with the San Francisco-based family. If you didn’t grow up in the ‘90s, I can only try to convey how much it broke my little brain to find out the ex-boyfriend Alanis Morissette sang about in her lead single “You Oughta Know” was rumored to be none other than Full House actor Dave Coulier. Surely I was not the only teenager who suffered a little trauma back then from the inescapable mental picture of Uncle Joey doing dirty deeds in a movie theater. Skip to more than two decades later, and Coulier discussed his possible connection to the Jagged Little Pill album, including the time he asked Morissette what he was supposed to tell people.

Alanis Morissette and Dave Coulier dated for two years in the early ‘90s, around the time, Dave Coulier told Jim Norton & Sam Roberts on SiriusXM, that the singer was writing the music that would become one of the best-selling albums of all time and even inspire a Broadway musical. When he heard “You Oughta Know” on the radio a year after they broke up (and then bought the album), the Uncle Joey actor said he realized he “may have really hurt” Morissette. The former couple spoke about it when they reconnected years after Jagged Little Pill’s release, he said:

It seems like by telling him he could say whatever he wanted, Alanis Morissette was willing to let him either deny or own up to any of the betrayals she sang about, as she herself remains mum on her muses. Morissette told Andy Cohen in 2019 that about “about six people” have taken credit for being the guy in “You Oughta Know.”

It wasn’t just Jagged Little Pill’s lead single that drew Dave Coulier’s attention, though. In “Right Through You,” Alanis Morissette sings, “Your shake is like a fish,” and the “dead fish” handshake was a thing they had done, said Coulier. 

Regardless of how much of the album’s inspiration came from the Full House actor — who recently celebrated a big sobriety milestone —  it doesn’t sound like there is a lot of lingering anger for either party, as Dave Coulier called his ex-girlfriend funny, sweet, super intelligent and super talented. He even said when his sister was dying of cancer, Alanis Morissette drove from Toronto to Detroit to sit with her in the hospital and play music for her.

Jagged Little Pill continues to be relevant more than 25 years later, with its music being introduced to a new audience, often via different platforms. Bridgerton Season 2 viewers might have noticed a classical version of “You Oughta Know” playing in Episode 5, after Anthony confessed his true desires to Kate. Certainly fans of the album hope its music never dies, and hopefully the men who inspired her words have made peace with that too.

For Full House and Fuller House vet Dave Coulier, the past year or so has been one full of heartbreak and tragedy, as he experienced what he has jokingly referred to as the “sorrow hat trick.” His brother Dan took his own life in 2021, his former co-star and lifelong BFF Bob Saget died in January of a head trauma, and then Coulier’s father passed away month or so later. Thankfully, the actor has been able to cope with such grief by maintaining his hard-earned sobriety, and he seems as optimistic as can be that the Full House crew could potentially get back together for another Tanner-focused project that would be a direct tribute to Saget himself.

In the months since Bob Saget’s untimely death, his former co-stars and TV family have reunited a variety of times, for dinners, for funeral-related reasons, for mini-vacations and more. To be expected, the idea of another Full House-centric project has come up during this time, and Dave Coulier expanded on that idea during his appearance on The Tamron Hall Show, explaining how the next follow-up could indeed keep Saget’s Danny Tanner in focus. In his words:

First and foremost, I think there’s always something more altogether wholesome about the world of TV and streaming whenever there’s a Full House project currently airing. As more and more series push the envelope and up the ante by way of excessive crime, violence and explicit language, it’s a comforting thought to know that there’s at least one show out there that can turn the world on with a smile. Wait, no, that’s The Mary Tyler Moore Show. On Full House and Fuller House, the most blatant four-letter word was “love.”

So in that sense, I’d happily join millions of other fans in supporting the process of bringing the jokingly titled Fullest House into existence in one way or another. I have to imagine the project would be on par with This Is Us in the sense of each episode requiring its own tissue dispenser, too. And not just for viewers, but for Candace Cameron Bure, Dave Coulier, Jodie Sweetin, Andrea Barber, John Stamos and anybody else who would sign on to pay season-long homage to Bob Saget’s magnificence as a TV dad. 

To play the devil’s advocate, though, I can’t help but think it would be strange for a TV show to just have a family sitting around reminiscing about a character who’d passed away. Obviously, Full House’s central narrative kicked off with the Tanner matriarch Pam dying, which sparked Dave Coulier’s Joey to move into the house as a surrogate-esque uncle. So the whole idea of death leading to togetherness is definitely right up this mini-franchise’s alley.

Of course, that’s assuming we’re talking about a full season of 10-20 episodes. If that’s not the case, I could more easily see and embrace a feature-length holiday special or something of that sort, with the family coming together for their first Christmas or someone’s birthday after Danny’s death, giving all of the characters a chance to reflect and honor Saget’s memory and impact. 

Plus, if they went for more of a limited-scope project, it might even convince Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen to legitimately contemplate a return to television as the long-absent Michelle Tanner. I mean, that probably won’t happen, but considering they actually went public following Saget’s death, it’s dangling from a thread of possibility.

During the same interview with Tamron Hall, Dave Coulier discussed having spoken with Bob Saget for the last time on the same day he died, hours ahead of the stand-up comedian’s final on-stage performance. The conversation certainly wasn’t indicative of the wave of mourning to come, as Coulier said they were texting each other and laughing. As they say, it’s always the best way to leave them.

With any luck, Coulier and his other former co-stars can find a long-lasting and meaningful way to pay tribute to Bob Saget through the Full House-verse. While waiting to see where things go, all five seasons of Fuller House are available to stream with a Netflix subscription. 

Full House was such a beloved show by so many people, whether they became fans when the sitcom originally aired on ABC in the 1980s and ‘90s, found it through reruns in syndication, or jumped on the bandwagon with the Netflix spinoff Fuller House. What fans may not have known until recently, however, was how much the TV family meant to the cast as well. So many stories have been shared since “America’s Dad” Bob Saget passed away January 9 from a head trauma, and Full House actor Dave Coulier recalled the last time he spoke with Saget before he died.

Full House may have gone off the air in 1995, but the Tanners and those closest to them had formed a family. If that show taught us anything, it’s that families are forever, so in the years before and since John Stamos got the band back together for Fuller House, the cast kept in touch. In fact, Dave Coulier said he spoke to Bob Saget on the day his friend died, and he reflected on that conversation on the Tamron Hall Show:

As tragic as it most certainly was to lose Bob Saget so suddenly, that’s a pretty wonderful memory that Dave Coulier can hold onto. He was able to have a final conversation with his friend, and it was one filled with laughter. Appreciation for the moment might come later, though, as Coulier talked about the incredible pain and sorrow he’s been through. The actor has experienced tremendous loss recently. In addition to losing Saget, Coulier’s brother died by suicide, and he said he also lost his father a couple of months ago. 

Earlier this year Dave Coulier celebrated two years since he quit drinking, marking the anniversary by sharing a scary photo of his bloodied face after taking a fall on some steps while drunk. He told Tamron Hall that being sober has allowed him to fully grieve his losses. 

Details about Bob Saget’s final days have come to light in the past few months — not just about the events surrounding his tragic death, but about the kindness he showed to those around him and the love he consistently expressed to his friends and family. A hotel employee recalled how he made time for Full House fans in the lobby, and he apparently struck up a conversation and took a photo with his car valet the night of his death.

Bob Saget’s widow Kelly Rizzo recalled her own final conversation with her husband the night he died, after what would be his final show, with him telling her, “I love you so much, and can't wait to see you tomorrow.”

The world lost a good one on January 9, and the memories that Bob Saget’s loved ones continue to share just keep proving that. Dave Coulier and the entire Full House family have had a tough year, after Bob Saget unexpectedly passed away in January. The Uncle Joey actor has stayed close to the TV Tanners and is often seen hanging out with Candace Cameron Bure, who played his TV quasi-niece DJ. As they continue to work to process their grief, however, Coulier is also taking time out to reflect on his personal achievements. The comedian recently celebrated two years sober, and he shared a sad photo that showed the consequences of his alcohol abuse.

In an Instagram post showing his face with multiple cuts and scratches, Dave Coulier recalled an accident he’d had while drunk, in which he fell going up some stone stairs. The comedian looked really banged up, and the photo shows how far he’s come since he quit drinking January 1, 2020. Take a look for yourself.

The actor reflected on his drinking days, saying he was the "life of the party," and that nobody enjoyed grabbing "beers with the boys" more than he did. It came at a price, though, as he said that eight hours of drinking would lead to two days of "feeling like a bowl of dog mess."

It's so important that Dave Coulier take the time to celebrate this achievement. Two years is a long time, especially with everything that's happened since January 2020, and sobriety can be a day-to-day struggle for some. 

As to be expected, he wasn't left to celebrate alone. Several of the Full House family showed up in the comments to support "Uncle Joey" amid the milestone. Bob Saget’s widow, Kelly Rizzo, was even among them, commenting “Love you Dave,” with heart emojis. Scott Weinger, who played Steve on both Full House and its Netflix sequel Fuller House, left applause and heart emojis.

Candace Cameron Bure joined in the show of love for her friend, commenting, “Love you and always proud of you,” and her on-screen BFF Andrea Barber, who played Kimmy Gibler, also showed her support, saying, "I love you and I’m so proud of you. You inspire me!"

Dave Coulier’s biggest supporter, however, seems to be his wife Melissa. The actor thanked his wife, who he married in 2014, for sticking by him through everything, including the withdrawal process that he called a “big challenge.” 

It's no easy task watching someone you love suffer in such a way, both in the addiction and the withdrawal, and it sounds like Dave Coulier is in a much better place now, surely thanks in no small part to his wife. She also commented on his Instagram post: "SO proud of you. I love you and your strength so much!!"

It's so great to see that the actor is taking care of his health and has been able to see such success in his sobriety, despite everything that's happened over the past two years. He joined some of his former castmates at 90s Con in Connecticut recently, where he even expressed interest in reprising the role of Joey Gladstone again, perhaps someday in Fullest House. Co-stars Candace Cameron Bure and Andrea Barber were right there with him, immediately saying they were "totally" on board.

Two generations have now grown up alongside the Tanner/Fuller family. First there was Full House, which aired for eight seasons on ABC in the 1980s and ‘90s. That was when Bob Saget became affectionately known as “America’s Dad,” playing widower Danny Tanner. Danny’s oldest daughter DJ (Candace Cameron Bure) grew up to become DJ Tanner-Fuller, leading the Netflix revival Fuller House, which featured new families and family tree branches, but also plenty of familiar faces.

With Fuller House coming to an end in 2020 after five seasons — and the recent death of Bob Saget from a head trauma — the question of if we’ll ever see the Tanner bunch gather around the blue plaid couch again is a big one. Even if they could, would they want to, knowing that Danny Tanner wouldn’t be a part of it? Some of the shows’ stars addressed that very question as they reunited for 90s Con in Connecticut last weekend.

Andrea Barber, who played DJ’s BFF Kimmy Gibler on both series, told NBC’s “Morning News Now” anchor Joe Fryer how special it was to see moms who had been Full House fans bonding with their daughters who watched Fuller House. This prompted Dave Coulier — or Uncle Joey — to joke: 

I mean, that would be the natural progression, right? You can’t have Full and Fuller without the Fullest! But is that superlative sequel series something they would actually consider? Candace Cameron Bure and Andrea Barber immediately both responded, “Totally!” and Dave Coulier also seemed ready to reprise his role:

Obviously there are no plans to continue with a third installment of the franchise, but it’s exciting to hear how much the actors still love those characters. However, if a new series ever did come to fruition, there would be one familiar face missing, after Bob Saget’s tragic passing at age 65. 

So would teaming up again without America’s Dad be painful, or would it be healing? Andrea Barber said it would be both, but apparently thinks it's worth it. In her words:

Bob Saget loved his TV family, which has been made evident in the past couple of months from the stories that his former co-stars have shared. I’m sure he would love to see the gang continue to work together, even if it means doing it without him. Also, Fuller House featured tons of callbacks to the original series. Can you imagine the Saget tributes that would be included if Fullest House were ever made? Check out the full interview below:

While it’s likely unrelated to their former roles of DJ and Steve, Candace Cameron Bure and Scott Weinger recently revealed that they’re “cooking up something good,” as the TV couple posed for a selfie at her Redrock production office. I'm excited to see what that's all about and look forward to seeing if any of the other former co-stars join forces for future projects!

Over the past month or so, the Full House family has grieved following Bob Saget’s death. It hasn't been easy for the group, but they've continued to bond and share their fondest memories of Saget. Now, the pair, and some of their fellow castmates, will be uniting again for a cool event.

Full House (and Fuller House) alums Dave Coulier, Candace Cameron Bure, Andrea Barber, and Scott Weinger are set to appear at ‘90s Con. The event, which is being held in Hartford, Connecticut, is set to run from March 11-13, according to E! News. While the reunion will surely be bittersweet due to Bob Saget’s absence, the stars seem excited to meet up. Cameron Bure previously explained how the TV family had been closer since Bob Saget's death, and Coulier (a.k.a. Uncle Joey) seemed to echo those statements while talking to E!:

Because they've known each other over the past four decades, it's no surprise that the group has formed a close bond. It's honestly refreshing to see that the stars are there for each other no matter the situation. Oftentimes, devoted fans will hear a cast talk about their relationships not going past the soundstage or how there can be conflicts amongst the stars behind the scenes. So fans are sure to take comfort in the fact that the Tanners and their extended family are close in real life.

That doesn’t mean there weren’t rough patches along the way, though. John Stamos and Bob Saget actually didn’t get along in the beginning. Stamos recently recalled to The New York Times that their initial clash came about because of the two actors having completely different techniques. But eventually, they came to understand their differences and were still friends when Saget passed. The Uncle Jesse actor said that the day of the late comedian’s funeral was the hardest of his life, though he still managed to deliver a heartfelt and slightly raunchy eulogy. He also said his on-screen brother-in-law was his biggest cheerleader while he was trying to revive the classic sitcom for Netflix.

The Full House reunion is one of many set to take place during '90s con. Stars from the casts of Sabrina the Teenage Witch, Family Matters, Boy Meets World, and Hocus Pocus will also be there. John Stamos paid tribute to him through his heartfelt (and slightly raunchy) eulogy at his funeral. Meanwhile, Jodie Sweetin vowed to tell an inappropriate joke at the service, in Saget’s memory. Candace Cameron Bure has also remembered her TV father through different ways, like a series of images and a heartfelt social media tribute (which drew support from her Hallmark family, too). She’s also reconnected with co-stars like Uncle Joey actor Dave Coulier,and has since shared more candid photos from their hangout. 

It was last week that Candace Cameron Bure posted a sweet photo of her and Dave Coulier to her Instagram account. While that snapshot only featured the two, Cameron Bure’s additional photos from her Instagram stories reveal that they were actually joined by her son, Maksim, and Coulier’s wife, Melissa. In her original post with her “Uncle Joey,” the actress and former talk show host mentioned that she had been experiencing “one of the hardest weeks” of her life following Bob Saget’s death. It surely can’t be easy to lose someone who was such a big part of your life, but you have to love how the cast has stuck together during this time. One of the best tributes that Candace Cameron Bure has created in memory of her father-figure, though, would have to be the shirt that she had designed. The clothing – which has been fashioned as a t-shirt, sweatshirt and hoodie – reads, “Love Like Jesus, Hug Like Bob Saget.” The gear is being sold to the public, and the proceeds will all go to the Scleroderma Research Foundation, where Bob Saget served as a board member for years. Saget’s widow, Kelly Rizzo, is in full support of the effort and, based on Cameron’s Bure’s other post, the cause has been successful:

These posts and charitable campaigns truly exemplify just how much the America’s Funniest Home Videos host was appreciated by those closest to him. In addition to his Full House family, folks around the comedy world, like Adam Sandler and Pete Davidson, have taken the time to pay their respects. Others have shared stories, like The Price is Right host Drew Carey, who remembered missing his debut on The Tonight Show due to a kind gesture on the late performer’s part. In a particularly bittersweet moment, Steve Harvey also revealed that the Danny Tanner actor reached out to him via email just days before his death. 

Considering all of these famous friends, it should come as no surprise to hear that his funeral was well-attended. Kelly Rizzo has since spoken out about her husband, even revealing the final words she shared with the comedian. She’s also been candid about the fact that she’s not trying to feel as though she was “robbed of time” with her husband and is instead appreciating what she did have with him. 

She, Candace Cameron Bure, Dave Coulier and their friends and family are surely still processing Bob Saget’s passing. However, it appears they’re also choosing to celebrate him and remain optimistic in the midst of the situation. And because Saget was a man known for his smile and witty nature, that positive outlook is likely what he would’ve wanted for his loved ones.

Featuring a special guest appearance from Full and Fuller House actor Dave Coulier, AKA Uncle Joey, Candace Cameron Bure’s recent post talked about how the week has been “one of the hardest” of the actress’ life thus far. However, Bure and her co-stars have also seen the good in getting to spend time with one another while remembering Bob Saget this week. And, of course, Bure made a very special clothing item to immortalize Bob Saget’s hugs. 

If you happened to miss Mr. Saget’s epic hugging over the years, his co-star certainly didn’t. Candace Cameron Bure shared an absolute slew of emotional moments from her memories and times spent working with her TV dad over the years. Make no bones about it, the man was a hugger and a lot of those hugs were caught on camera. 

Now that we’ve established Bob Saget loved embracing his co-stars, Candace Cameron Bure opted to share the sweatshirt she’d made with her followers on Instagram, which reads “Love like Jesus, Hug Like Bob Saget.” The yellow font on the latter half of the sweatshirt reminds me of the OG Full House logo, so it seems like the look was well thought out. At the time of this writing, a lot of Bure’s other followers were excited about the look too, to the point she created an update on the post about fans being able to potentially buy the look coming up... for a good cause.  

The Scleroderma Research Foundation is a nonprofit that was near and dear to Bob Saget’s heart. The actor had a sister who preceded him in death, Gay. Gay Saget died back in 1994 at the age of 47 from a rare illness called scleroderma. Saget had been open about not feeling as if there was enough awareness around the disease to get his sister diagnosed. He later joined the board of the Scleroderma Research Foundation, helping to raise millions of dollars to increase awareness and research into the disease. 

The research foundation also recently announced a $1.5 million grant to match every dollar donated in Bob Saget’s memory. That grant was made possible by "SRF board members, philanthropists, and friends of Saget, Dr. Luke Evnin and Deann Wright," per an announcement from the foundation. 

A lot of celebs are seemingly already on board to land a sweatshirt if they become available. Leanne Rimes mentioned, “Love the shirt. Massive hug sent your way." The Hallmark star's network co-worker Nikki DeLoach also responded to the post, noting, "Beautiful. Been sending up prayers everyday." The Office star BJ Novak may have even gotten the creative juices flowing about the shirt, as he asked, "Can I order one?"

So, with sweatshirts on the way, I'm sure we'll get more emotional moments regarding Bob Saget and his hugging skills in the coming days. Not a bad way to be remembered, at all. 

It's never a positive experience when a beloved celebrity passes away unexpectedly, and it somehow feels even worse when the late entertainer was one of the funniest and most beloved comedians out there. Such is the case with Full House vet Bob Saget, who unexpectedly passed away on January 9 at the age of 65. Details surrounding the death are still unclear, but what's abundantly clear is that the sitcom icon made an impact on many people's lives, from audiences watching at home to his various co-stars (like the Olsen twins) to those lucky enough to have befriended him over the years.

Soon after the news of Bob Saget's death was made public, the Internet was awash in condolence-filled messages and tributes to the comedian. Not merely for his work in the industry, but often for his impact as a friend and/or mentor. Adam Sandler, who appeared in the Saget-directed Dirty Work, shared the following thoughts, complete with a shot of their respective pal Norm Macdonald (whom Saget mourned heavily after the SNL alum's death). 

Another comedian known for his work on Saturday Night Live (among other things), Pete Davidson, also reached out via friend and SNL colleague Dave Sirus' Instagram with some kind words about Bob Saget regarding the younger comedian's mental health struggles over the years. 

Bob Saget's Full House and Fuller House family members have also shared several messages across social media, with John Stamos just as shocked as anyone that his friend and former co-star has passed, saying on Twitter:

Candace Cameron-Bure spent many years playing Saget's daughter D.J. Tanner across both Full House and its follow-up Netflix series. The two continued nurturing that father-daughter relationship off-screen as well, and this loss has hit the Hallmark actress in a big way.

Outside of the Full House world, How I Met Your Mother star Josh Radnor shared a long and heartfelt series of messages about Bob Saget, who portrayed an older version of Radnor's Ted as the hit sitcom's narrator. With each of the tweets definitely worth the time to scroll through, Radnor started his tribute by saying:

Bob Saget had a part in the prequel Dumb And Dumberer: When Harry Met Lloyd, and somehow not one of the two core films, which feels like an oversight on somebody's part. Nevertheless, fellow comedian Jim Carrey joined in sharing the love for Saget and his positive energy.
