It feels like it’s been ages since we’ve seen Tom Holland swooping across the big screen in Spider-Man garb, but that drought will thankfully end when the reality-upending Brand New Day hits theaters this year. There’s still a lot we don’t know, such as the key antagonist, and the actor is struggling not to spill the beans.While waiting on the upcoming Marvel movie, Amazon’s Prime Day deals are here to give fans a less costly chance to catch up on the webslinger’s MCU journey so far.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day will hit theaters on July 30, 2026.

It seems like every Amazon Prime Day, in addition to looking out for streaming deals, I’ve got my eye on a TV. I have yet to pull the trigger on a new TV, mostly because I’ve been hoping to get a deal on a 55” OLED Samsung. There’s a specific reason I want a Samsung: it’s one of the few brands I can use with my Philips Hue lights without any additional hardware. If you aren’t familiar with how Philips Hue lights can make movie watching even cooler, check it out.

The Light Spills Out Past The Screen

At this point, I’ve replaced 100% of the light bulbs in my house with smart bulbs from Philips Hue. It’s a project that started a decade ago, and as bulbs have burned out, I’ve replaced them. I could talk for hours about how much I love my lighting setup for practical reasons. I love setting different moods with my lights and the ease with which I can set up timers on every light in my house. I also love how much fun I have with the setup.

One of the most fun things I’ve added is the Sync Box, which connects to lights behind my TV and, as the name suggests, syncs with what I’m watching. It means that the light from a movie spills out from behind the TV onto the wall. It also connects to the other lights in my family room, creating a truly immersive experience. I especially love watching MCU movies with it. Is this necessary? Of course not, but I really do love it, and I recommend it to anyone thinking about getting Philips Hue lights. The only drawback is that the box is kind of tricky to set up, but Samsung and Philips have a solution.

Samsung TVs Are Now Compatible With Philips Hue

In 2022, Philips and Samsung announced that new Samsung TVs would have hue capability built in. That means you don’t need the Sync Box anymore. You just need the basic Hue setup and lights, and you can sync them with your TV, sans extra box. My sister recently renovated her basement and bought a Hue-compatible Samsung, and I absolutely love it. That has me once again shopping for TVs. If I’m going to invest in one, I want to make it an OLED.

That makes this Prime Day deal on the Samsung S90H, a 55” OLED, tempting. I mean, really tempting. It’s still not exactly “cheap,” but it’s $400 less than normal. OLEDs have really been out of my price range since they were introduced, and while this is still more than I would like to pay for TV, I feel like I’m in one of those classic situations. It’s not the price I want, but it’s not totally out of the ballpark either. As summer heats up on the 2026 TV schedule, I really think it might be time to buy.

I missed The Housemaid when it was in theaters late last year and early this year, as the 2026 movie schedule was just getting going. Now, Prime Day rolls on, and I’m thinking it’s time to finally check out the hit movie starring Sydney Sweeney. Not only is the movie deeply discounted for VOD with a Prime subscription, but it’s also available on Starz for streaming, which also has a great streaming deal for Prime Day. Here are the two ways you can watch The Housemaid at a great price.

2025 Was Quite The Year For Sydney Sweeney

Sydney Sweeney had a huge year in 2025. In addition to The Housemaid, she gained some awards buzz for her transformative performance in Christy, the biopic about boxer Christy Martin, and she also turned in an underrated performance alongside Julianne Moore in Echo Valley, which you can check out with an Apple TV subscription. 2026 has been busy too, with the release of the final season of the show that really made her a star, Euphoria.

It was The Housemaid that really generated the most buzz, however. The book-to-screen adaptation about a nanny (played by Sweeney) with a troublesome past is hired by a wealthy family on Long Island. The movie was a massive hit, making more than $400 million globally at the box office. If you’re one of the few people who didn’t see it, like me, now’s your chance with one of two great deals.

The Housemaid Is Streaming On Starz and On Sale For Prime Day

There are two great deals available this week. First, The Housemaid is streaming on Starz, and you can get Starz as an add-on to your Prime for just 99 cents for the first two months. Starz is one of the more underrated streamers, and there is a lot there, especially for just a buck. Not only can you watch The Housemaid, but also another one of the best movies of 2025, The Long Walk, and classic comedies like A League of Their Own.

Starz also has great original programming, including Outlander: Blood of My Blood, which will be dropping Season 2 as part of the 2026 TV schedule in September, and Power Book III: Raising Kanan, starring Patina Miller, which is wrapping up its five-season run right now. It’s a great time to catch up with all the Power Book shows on Starz.

If adding another streaming service to your menu doesn’t make sense, The Housemaid is also on sale from Amazon. You can buy the video-on-demand version for just $6.99 for Prime Day, which is more than half off the regular price. Heck, that’s only a buck more than it is to rent the movie. It’s a really great deal and not one you often see on movies this early in their release schedule.

One big reason I haven't even considered cancelling my Audible subscription anytime recently is because, in addition to the credit I get each month with my membership, Audible is constantly offering great deals on audiobooks to purchase -- sometimes you can buy a great title for just a few bucks. It's not at all helpful for my ever-growing TBR, but in terms of having no shortage of books lined up to listen to at any given time, I really can't complain.

While there are plenty of deals for gadgets and devices, now is also the perfect time to get smoking deals from many streaming services so you can catch up on whatever you’ve missed so far on the 2026 TV schedule. We’re compiling a list of as many deals on streaming services, like HBO Max, Paramount+, Hallmark+, and more. At the bottom is a list of all the deals we've found, so be sure to check them all out and see what works for you!

Paramount+ For 99 Cents For Two Months

A lot of streaming services are doing away with free trials, but for Amazon Prime Day, you can basically get Paramount+ for close to free, with a deal that will get you a Paramount+ subscription for just 99¢ for the first two months. That’s $13 off the regular subscription price. If you’re a fan of Taylor Sheridan, this is the deal for you, as you can catch up on Dutton Ranch and all his other shows. Of course, there are also a ton of great movies on the streamer, like the Mission: Impossible franchise, Top Gun: Maverick, and one of my favorite movies ever, No Country for Old Men.

For Big Brother fans, this deal is a no-brainer. The show kicks off on July 9th, which means you’ll get to watch the show and the live feeds for most of the first couple of months of the season for a super-affordable price. For many, that’s worth the price alone. And the deal is good for both the Essential Plan with ads and the Premium Plan without commercials. Both come in at that price under a buck.

Apple TV Is The Most Underrated Streamer

I often make the argument to friends that Apple TV is the most consistent streaming service when it comes to quality content. Almost everything the streamer does is high quality and great. I’m talking about shows like Severance, Ted Lasso, Silo, and my current favorite show, Slow Horses. Now through the end of Prime Day (June 26th), you can get Apple TV for $5.99 a month for two months.

The other thing I absolutely love about Apple TV is the sports options. Specifically, Formula 1. Those are the crown jewels in the Apple TV sports lineup and for good reason. If you’re a fan of F1: The Movie, but haven’t gotten into the sport yet, I urge you to give it a shot with this deal. I love F1, and with Apple TV I can watch all the races, plus all of the practice sessions each week, and qualifying. This deal is just in time to watch two of the best races on the F1 schedule in July with the British Grand Prix and the Belgian Grand Prix at Spa, one of the prettiest (and most legendary) tracks on the schedule.

There Are Some Great Combo Deals Too

Another common thing I’m seeing on Amazon Prime Day is combo deals. You can browse what is on offer here, and pick and choose which services you’d like to combine for pretty great savings. One combo I’m eying is one that includes MGM+, Starz, and AMC+. I love my MGM+ add-on with Prime, and for just a few more bucks–$2.75/month for 2 months and $21.99 after that for all three–I can add two services I don’t subscribe to, but have tons to offer. AMC+ has the entire Walking Dead franchise and Mad Men, for example, and Starz is chock-full of great movies.

Another great combo if you’re a fan of British TV is the pairing of BBC Select and Britbox, so you can watch shows like The Other Bennett Sister, QI, and so much more of the best the United Kingdom has to offer. Streaming The Other Bennett Sister has been tricky in the US until recently, and now there is a great deal if you want to check out the acclaimed show.

HBO Max For $40 Off For A Year

Without question, one of the best streaming services out there is HBO Max, and now, with Season 3 of House of the Dragon kicking off last weekend, now is a great time to subscribe. Usually, the best way to save on an HBO Max subscription is with a yearly subscription to the standard service for $184.99 a year. During Prime Day, you can get more than $50 off that price for one year with this deal. Sure, it’ll set you back a one-time charge of $132.99, but that comes out to about 11 bucks a month, which is a great value for a premium streamer.

Not only will you get the latest Game of Thrones spinoff, but you also get the entire DC Universe, which means if you’re planning on seeing Supergirl this weekend as part of the 2026 movie schedule, you can watch or rewatch 2025’s Superman with a sub. Speaking of DC, Lanterns, the latest show from the James Gunn-led franchise, is set to kick off in August as well. Plus, there are all the great HBO shows from years past, like The Sopranos, The Wire, Curb Your Enthusiasm, and the recently wrapped Euphoria, which ended its three-season run last month.

As July inches closer, we're getting nearer to the point where we should expect more details about what's coming for Big Brother Season 28 when it arrives on the 2026 TV schedule. Personally, I'm deep into a rewatch binge of recent seasons, as that's how I like to get warmed up for what will become my annual summer-long obsession.

Between the live feeds and the numerous weekly episodes, my Paramount+ subscription gets the most use when Big Brother's new season gets going. While I'm all set with my own subscription, if you're not signed up for the platform, now is a good time to add it, as there's a great deal going on right now.

There are a couple of ways to get this limited-time deal, which gives you Paramount+ for $.99 per month for the first two months, after which the price shifts to the usual monthly rate. The first is directly through Paramount+'s website.

Alternately, you can sign up for Paramount+ as an add-on to your Prime Video subscription.

As a Big Brother fan, Paramount+ is a must for me. Not only do I love having access to the live feeds and the ability to revisit past episodes, but the Premium plan also gives me easy access to my local CBS station, which means I can watch the episodes as they air (rather than waiting for them to be streaming). So if that's a thing that matters to you and you don't have access to CBS through cable, antenna, or a live TV streaming platform, just something to keep in mind while you're choosing which plan you want.

Big Brother Season 28 arrives on CBS on July 9, just a couple of weeks from now. While details about the theme, cast (possible returning houseguests?!) and inevitable game twists have yet to be revealed, it's just a matter of time before we learn how accurate the rumors and theories about this season really are.

If obsessing over every update about the new season isn't enough to satisfy your Big Brother craving, you can always do what I'm doing and watch old seasons. Of course, Big Brother isn't the only thing available on Paramount+. The streaming service is home to other reality TV shows (like Survivor), not to mention dramas (Dutton Ranch, Tulsa King) and comedy series (Ghosts, South Park), and plenty of movies (Scream 7, Top Gun: Maverick).

Paramount+ isn't the only streaming deal going on right now. With Amazon Prime Day right around the corner, there's an abundance of streaming deals already up and running, including a great deal for MGM+, and one for Apple TV, if you have a hankering for some of their fantastic original shows.

I think it was less than a day after I saw Project Hail Mary for the first time in theaters that I knew I had to see it again (and again, and again), which I did (and did, and did). The 2026 sci-fi movie is undoubtedly that kind of film, with its excellent performances (Ryan Gosling, Sandra Huller, James Ortiz!), and humorous, scary and exciting moments. If you've been waiting for streaming to rewatch the movie, or to watch it for the first time, the time has come!

Project Hail Mary is officially available to stream on MGM+, and if you don't have the platform, now's the perfect time to sign up, as Amazon is running a deal for the add-on subscription service.

Personally, I've already purchased the movie on VOD on Amazon the day it came out, so I'm all set (at least until the Blu-ray comes out, because I need the bonus features!). If you're not interested in purchasing the movie on digital right now, Amazon's MGM+ deal is a great option, particularly as an alternative to renting, as you'll have plenty of time to rewatch the movie.

What better way to make the most out of that $.99 for the first month than by watching Project Hail Mary (once, on repeat, whatever)? Plus, you get access to all of the other titles available on MGM+. That includes The Martian, another great sci-fi movie based on an Andy Weir novel.

If You Haven't Seen Project Hail Mary 🚀

Project Hail Mary stars Ryan Gosling and is a book-to-screen adaptation of Andy Weir's novel by the same name. The story follows Ryland Grace (Gosling), a science teacher who wakes up from a coma aboard a spaceship with no memory of why he's there. He soon discovers that he's the sole survivor of a mission to save Earth from an alien substance that's devouring the sun. This is Earth's last-ditch effort to stop what's happening before it's too late.

Amidst flashbacks of the events that led to him ending up on the ship, Grace comes into contact with an alien who's also trying to stop this substance from killing his planet.

• The movie is rated PG-13 (some thematic material and suggestive references) 
• Run time is 2 hours and 36 minutes
• Critics and audiences have been largely positive on the movie, as it holds a 94% Certified Fresh critics score on Rotten Tomatoes, and an audience score of 95%.

If you're a Gen-Xer who read a certain V.C. Andrews novel (and possibly even its sequels) at an age that was maybe much younger than you should've been, let's just say, you're not alone. As I recall, Flowers in the Attic and its twisted, controversial subject matter had some of us in a vice grip for a time, and though the original 1987 movie adaptation wasn't as faithful to the book as it could have been -- sorry, Kristy Swanson -- the 2014 made-for-TV movie adaptation had my attention more than a decade ago when it arrived on Lifetime. That's the book-to-screen adaptation you can now watch with a Netflix subscription.

In fact, Flowers in the Attic ranks #2 among the movies streaming on Netflix right now, falling just short of the top spot due to the popularity of the disturbing new documentary, Maternal Instinct.

Originally published in 1979, V.C. Andrews' Flowers in the Attic centers on four kids whose father dies, and their mother, Corrine, brings them to her estranged parents' wealthy mansion to live, in the hopes of regaining her inheritance.

Chris is 14, Cathy is 12, and the twins are 4 when they arrive at Foxworth Hall. While Mom's downstairs trying to win over the hearts of her wealthy, aging father and stern, devout mother, the kids are being kept a secret from their grandfather and have been locked up in a small bedroom, which leads to the home's expansive attic -- the only place they have to live and play day in and day out.

The kids end up hidden away for years, during which time they're subjected to neglect from their mother, abuse from their grandmother, and malnourishment from being denied access to fresh air or normal lives. Add the confusion of puberty and lack of things like school and normal socializing for the two elder kids, and things get... complicated (in the incestual sense).

Andrews' book would turn into a series (the Dollanganger series), including three sequels and a ghostwritten prequel (Andrews died in 1986), plus additional books published in and after 2014, titled The Christopher Diaries, which were also ghostwritten.

As I mentioned, this story was made into a movie by Jeffrey Bloom in 1987, and starred Kristy Swanson as Cathy. I much prefer the 2014 adaptation, which was directed by Deborah Chow and aired on Lifetime, and is now streaming on Netflix. The cast includes Heather Graham (as Corrine), Kiernan Shipka (as Cathy), and Ellen Burstyn (as the abusive grandmother). I wouldn't go so far as to say it's a great movie -- it's melodramatic, a bit soapy, and a similar level of disturbing as I remember the book being – but if you're looking for an adaptation that'll scratch a nostalgic itch for V.C. Andrews' book, this would be the one I recommend.

Netflix doesn't have the sequels available – Lifetime released Petals on the Wind (with Rose McIver as Cathy), If There Be Thorns (with Rachael Carpani as Cathy), and Seeds of Yesterday in the years following Flowers in the Attic. And then, in 2022, Lifetime adapted Garden of Shadows (the FITA prequel book) into a 4-part miniseries called Flowers In The Attic: The Origin, starring Kelsey Grammer and Kate Mulgrew. You can purchase those adaptations on digital at Amazon, or watch them streaming with the Lifetime Movie Club add-on to your Prime Video subscription.

I’ve been singing the praises of Slow Horses for years now, and sometimes it feels like I’m yelling into the void. Slow Horse Might Be My Favorite Current Show

Though some might argue that we’re no longer in the era of peak TV, it’s still hard for me to pick one show as my absolute favorite, but gun to my head, I’d probably say it’s Slow Horses, based on the books by Mick Herron. If you’ve not seen the show, the easiest way to sum it up without spoiling anything is that Gary Oldman plays Jackson Lamb, the agent in charge of a ragtag group of MI5 cast-offs in a rundown office far outside of the heart of the British Intelligence Services. Oldman’s performance as Lamb is worth the price of a subscription alone; it’s a crime that he hasn’t won an Emmy yet.

Apple TV Has So Much Other Stuff, Too

While Slow Horse is my favorite show, I also think Apple TV is the most consistent streamer when it comes to putting out excellent content. There are a bunch of dramas that I love, like Severance, For All Mankind, Silo (Season 3 debuts on July 3rd), and Pluribus. It seems like just about every show Apple TV produces has a huge budget and tons of talent in front of and behind the camera. There are also some great comedies, led, of course, by Ted Lasso and Shrinking.

Then there are the sports. I’m also a huge fan of Formula 1, and Apple TV is where all the races are broadcast in the US. Plus, as a season ticket holder to St. Louis City SC, I watch all their away matches on Apple TV, which is the home for all of the MLS games worldwide. I don’t care about watching Lionel Messi (unless he’s playing City), but you might!

These are all great perks, of course, but ultimately, I’d probably subscribe to the services for Gary Oldman's performance in Slow Horses alone. It feels like the rest is just a great bonus. Well, Slow Horses and MLS soccer, I guess. I almost wish I didn’t already have a subscription so I could take advantage of this deal and watch Slow Horses for the first time again.

Considering its long-running position as being one of the best shows to binge on Netflix amidst the service’s ever-growing content library, Stranger Things could possibly take over the entirety of pop culture the back half of Season 5 goes live. I love watching concert films, as well, and that is the genre that I love the most. Lights on a stage carrying over and into my living room make it seem like I’m (almost) on stage with the band I’m watching. The reaction speed of the lights is instantaneous, so there isn’t an annoying lag or anything. It’s as close as I’ll ever get to being at The Last Waltz when I watch the movie every year on Thanksgiving.

It Works With Most TVs And Streaming Devices

Whether you have an Apple TV, a Roku, an Amazon Fire TV stick, or almost any other device that you use for streaming, the Sync Box is likely compatible with it. I know I'm not alone in being in a constant battle with the number of streaming services I'm subscribed to. Factor in bundles and it's become kind of a juggling game to make sure I have what I want (and stop holding onto what I'm not using). Naturally, with so many amazing Black Friday streaming deals, I had to be discerning with which ones I took advantage of this year. When I decided to subscribe to MGM+ using a great Amazon Black Friday deal, I had two goals in mind, and I already accomplished one of them!

The Goals

How this started was that, after watching Stranger Things Season 5 Part 1 with my Netflix subscription this weekend, I was determined to sit down and finally watch The Great Escape. If you're caught up on Stranger Things, you know where this impulse is coming from, and if you don't, well, you probably don't care. Either way, no Stranger Things spoilers ahead, beyond the mention of that movie title. The point is, I'd heard of the 1963 movie starring Steve McQueen, but I'd never actually seen it. Well, I wanted to change that, which was Goal 1:

Finally Watch The Great Escape (Goal Completed ✅)

Having never seen one of the best war movies of all time, the time had come to finally sit down and dedicate the nearly 3 hours it would take to see John Sturges' The Great Escape, and it turned out to be the best kind of Sunday afternoon for me. If you haven't seen it and you think it's your cup of tea, the World War II movie about a group of Allied soldiers attempting to escape a German POW camp is well worth a look.

I did have the option to watch The Great Escape streaming for free (Pluto TV has it), but I opted to take advantage of Amazon's MGM+ and Starz bundle, which offered two months of both services added on to my Prime Video account for just $3.50 a month, after which the price would go $13.99 a month. I think that deal was specific to Black Friday, however, because I don't see it on Amazon anymore, but I'll share some other MGM+-related promotions further down.

Did I subscribe to MGM+ and Starz just to watch one movie? Of course not, which brings us to Goal 2:

Watch More Classics And Older Movies

Looking at MGM+'s catalog, I decided that if I took advantage of this low-price sign-up, I'd make sure to check out some of the films I've heard good things about but have never actually seen, like Sabrina (1954), The Good, The Bad and the Ugly (1967), Roman Holiday (1953), Once Upon a Time in the West (1969), and The Magnificent Seven (1960). And there are older movies that I haven't seen in years that I'd love to revisit, like It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World (1963).

From what I can tell, MGM+ has a ton of movies from more recent years, as well, including some from 2025, like The Naked Gun and Novocaine, but at this point, that's just a bonus. There are so many movies from decades past that I haven't seen, and I want to change that! Who knows, maybe I'll finally get around to watching at least some of the original James Bond movies in order.

And for the record, while it wasn't part of the mentioned goals to go for the MGM+ bundle with Starz, I did jump on that particular deal with Spartacus: House of Ashur's upcoming premiere in mind (though there's a Starz and Hulu bundle deal that might work better for you if you're hoping to catch House of Ashur when it premieres this month.)

MGM+ Cyber Monday Deals

Let's get on to the deals. As I said, I don't see the bundle deal I signed up for anymore (Starz and MGM+), which I signed up for this weekend, so that might've just been for Black Friday. But here are a few other deals and bundles, including MGM,+ that Amazon has available right now.

Long before Thanksgiving and its Black Friday and Cyber Monday follow-ups arrive, the consumer world is already invested in cheery, snow-covered Christmas vibes. All the smiling reindeer and blinking lights may be antithetical to the general gloom and doom of the horror genre, but that doesn't mean fanatics can't find plenty of ways to take advantage of all the huge sales happening throughout the weekend.

So while waiting for all those upcoming horror movies to hit theaters, and for the small screen to be flush with upcoming horror TV series, I've rounded up some of the best Cyber Monday deals on Amazon for those who love to be creeped out. Not every single here will be a hit for every single fan reading, but I'm pretty sure everyone will find at least one option that appeals.

There Are Many Great Reasons To Subscribe To HBO Max

As I mentioned, the latest Game of Thrones spinoff/prequel, A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, is set to drop in a couple of months. The show, based on a novella series by George R.R. Martin called Tales of Dunk and Egg, stars Peter Claffey as Ser Duncan the Tall, and Dexter Sol Ansell as his squire “Egg,” whose real name is Prince Aegon Targaryen, and who eventually became Aegon V of Westeros.

For the better part of the past week, anyone with a YouTube TV subscription has been missing out on ESPN, ABC, and other Disney-owned channels as the two media giants continue a heated carriage dispute. While the two sides have shown no signs of letting up, one of YouTube TV’s biggest rivals, Hulu + Live TV, has swooped in to pick up some new subscribers by extending a massive discount for anyone wanting to make the jump.

Though anyone who currently has a Hulu subscription can’t take advantage of the offer, new subscribers, as well as those who haven’t had Hulu + Live TV for at least a month, can get the internet-based TV service for $64.99 a month for the next three months before it goes back to the normal price of $89.99 a month. This deal was initially supposed to conclude in late October 2025, but has since been extended through November 18th.

This extended discount not only gives you access to close to 100 live TV channels and the full Hulu library of content, but it also comes with a Disney+ subscription and access to the new ESPN Unlimited app at no additional cost. This news comes a few days after YouTube TV announced a sizable discount of $10 a month for six months to certain subscribers, and it seems like a golden opportunity for Hulu + Live TV to pick up some new viewers as its corporate parent continues to wage war with the provider.

In terms of battles between media companies and cable providers, the ongoing tiff has been quite heated ever since Disney channels went dark on YouTube TV back on October 30, 2025, after the two sides failed to reach a new agreement. With everything from the Keep My Networks sites to ESPN personalities like Scott Van Pelt filming messages to folks with YouTube TV subscriptions, it feels like Disney is trying to get the company to budge.

A few days after the blackout started and customers missed out on some big 2025 TV premieres, Disney requested that YouTube TV restore ABC during Election Night coverage on Tuesday, November 4. The provider shot it down in a statement claiming that the move would only cause more confusion for its customers. Instead, YouTube TV countered by proposing a restoration of ABC and ESPN channels while the sides negotiated a new deal, but they are still blacked out at the time of this writing.

The extension of this Hulu + Live TV discount could be seen as another bargaining tool by Disney as it attempts to put pressure on YouTube TV while also pulling its subscribers so they don’t miss out on another weekend of NCAA football action or a second week of Monday Night Football. Regardless of the company’s intentions, people looking to make the jump to the service are the ones benefiting the most.

Only time will tell when Disney and YouTube TV will agree on how much they are going to pay or get paid for live TV. Hopefully, for the sake of the consumers, it's sooner rather than later.

As I sit here in my humble abode poring over Amazon's entertainment-friendly Prime Day deals, I am surrounded by Funko Pop figures that represent a vast swath of pop culture interests. For all my current obsessions, it's safe to say that quite a bit of shelf space honors my favorite movie and TV characters from the 1980s and 1990s. My greedy inner child cannot be silenced sometimes. (Most times.)

So you can bet that I've been keeping an eye on all the Funko discounts noted so far during Prime Day, and even though I don't NEED any additional figures to bolster my collection, it seems silly not to at least LOOK at what's available, knowing that Amazon already has my payment information for quick purchases. Liam Neeson's Naked Gun reboot trailer was a great reminder of how fun those films were, and reminded me that I somehow only own The Police Squad on DVD and none of Frank Drebin's cinematic shitshows. We're live-blogging Prime Day deals here at CinemaBlend, but none have me in a chokehold as much as what's being offered for Paramount+. With the premiere of Big Brother Season 27 just around the corner, I was thrilled to see that Amazon is offering a deal for the streamer that will help many fans enjoy the live feeds at a reduced cost.

If you need a Paramount+ subscription to enjoy the live feeds, Amazon is currently running a deal that will give you access to the premium, ad-free experience for just $0.99 a month for the next two months. The same deal applies for the experience with ads, but why not make the most of it with the best experience possible and be ready when Night 1 of the live feeds begins on Sunday, July 13th?

I'm sure there's also a crowd out there wondering why they'd want to bother watching the Big Brother live feeds when the series is already on three times a week during the season. Plus, Season 27 will have 90-minute episodes on at least one of those nights, so surely we'll get everything of substance then, right?

As an avid live-feed viewer for years now, I can confirm there's value to watching BB live feeds nonstop. In addition to seeing what Houseguests do all day, it allows fans to get a raw and unfiltered view of what's happening in the game, without any editing by producers. Sometimes, the show has to condense conversations so that they make sense for an episode, and they're forced to cut out vital context and information that would be valuable.

In addition to all of that, those who watch the live feeds usually know who won the Head of Household and veto competitions before people on television. Of course, we can't watch the actual competitions as the live feeds go down during that time, but we get plenty of context clues and sometimes outright confirmation from the conversations that follow each competition.

Now, it's true that PlutoTV hosts a free ad-supported version of the live feeds, but while I would recommend that all Big Brother fans try to watch in any way they can, there are some downsides to that experience. Mainly, the commercial breaks are inevitable and can be ill-timed to important conversations happening in the game. While I appreciate that Pluto TV offers a 24/7 channel for watching past seasons, the platform's live feed experience isn't the ideal choice for those who can afford to choose.

Big Brother Season 27 already has a lot of hype surrounding it, as there's a tease of a mystery 17th Houseguest joining the game. It also seems likely that the series will bring back some iteration of Season 26's A.I. Arena twist, which injected new elements to the gameplay and revitalized it in an exciting way. All the more reason why people should take advantage of this deal!

Big Brother Season 27 kicks off on Thursday, July 10th at 8:00 p.m. ET. I'm thrilled to see this season finally get started after a long wait, and hope it is just as exciting as the previous season.

I'll be posting updates for the next few hours. So you know what to prepare for, I'm a fan of movies and TV, and I'm also a big reader, so I'll be keeping a close eye out for book deals, and probably dropping some reading recommendations if I see any good books for sale.

Prime Day Deal - Amazon has The Martian 4K UHD for $17.99. If you're a fan of the 2015 Matt Damon movie based on Andy Weir's outstanding novel, now's your chance to get the 4K edition!

Honestly, I'm tempted to shop for a new Kindle eReader this week, but I'm still too attached to the buttons on my Kindle Oasis to upgrade to a newer Kindle that doesn't have page-turning buttons. So, I see you Kindle Paperwhite Signature edition with your fancy wireless charging, but you don't have buttons, and I must therefore resist.

I love a good LEGO set, especially when it has the potential to look amazing on my bookshelf. This Walt Disney Tribute Camera set is a great option for Walt Disney fans, especially when you see the minifigures that come with it!

Readers, I'm not exaggerating when I say that The Wedding People by Alison Espach was one of my favorite books of 2024, and has since been added to my all-time favorite books shelf on GoodReads. I absolutely loved this book, and loved it just as much when I recently reread it. When I say "all the feelings," I pretty much mean it. This story is happy and sad and inspiring and funny and -- for me, anyway -- relatable!

That seemed like such a huge deal at the time, but let's face it, we're living in the future now, and the future is currently 4K UHD. Amazon has the BTTF trilogy set on sale right now for $29.99.

Ready to own The Departed on 4K Ultra HD? Amazon has it right now for $12.99. I love the cover of this set. If you haven't read Eric's article about the significance of the Xes in The Departed, be sure to check that out too!

You know how there are some movies, books, TV shows, etc that are just so good, you wish you could experience them for the first time all over again? Pierce Brown's Red Rising is one of those books for me. So I really can't recommend the sci-fi series enough, and it all starts with Red Rising, which Amazon has for sale in paperback for the very reasonable price of $7.60.

Am I reliant on my Peacock subscription to ensure I have The Office episodes available to stream at any given time, day or night? Absolutely. But I also have this DVD set as a backup, in the event that I'm without streaming access, and right now Amazon has it on sale for $30.36. Not a bad deal for all nine seasons of the show, plus bonus features.

Just saw that BestBuy is doing their Black Friday in July sale right now (and through Sunday). If you're on the hunt for home entertainment items and not seeing what you need at Amazon, you might want to check out Best Buy's options!

I like Jurassic World: Rebirth a lot more than I expected to when I saw it in theaters this past weekend. But let's face it, there's nothing like the original Jurassic Park! Steven Spielberg's adaptation of the Michael Crichton book is one of the best '90s movies. Right now, Amazon has Jurassic Park on 4K Ultra HD (plus Blu-ray and digital) for $11.99!

One of my favorite ways to find my happy place is to listen to a book or watch a movie or TV show while working on a massive jigsaw puzzle. Super cool, right? (Let's face it, any chance you thought I was cool probably went out the window when you saw me eyeing those Hogwarts scrunchies.) Doing a puzzle while I'm immersed in a great story is exactly where I want to be sometimes. And finishing that puzzle? 10/10 satisfaction. All of this to say... I just found the puzzle deals! Check out this Disney Pixar-themed 1000 piece jigsaw puzzle. I love all of the little things there are to look at in this one. Amazon has a lightning deal going on (while it lasts!) for $17.84.)

Ok, this one's going to see kind of random, but I use these Amazon Basics metal shelves for my book and movie storage, and I love them. Pretty basic to look at, but super sturdy if you're like me and have more books and movies than you know what to do with. (I also got the shelf liners for them.) Right now, Amazon has a set for $46.29.

Good morning! I'm excited for Prime Day and I'll be on the hunt for Blu-Rays (like everyone around here) and maybe some cool gadgets and fun toys. And anything else that catches my eye with a great deal.

Kelly mentioned Interstellar, so if you're a Christopher Nolan fan, like me, there is a fantastic deal for the Batman trilogy, The Dark Knight. Some argue they are the greatest superhero movies of all time, and for this price, $34.99, it's really tempting.

I secretly love Funko Pop vinyl figures, especially when they speak to my generation, like this one of Ferris Bueller dressed in his stylish beret, sweater, and shades. Prime Day always seems to have a few great deals on figures like this, and if I buy this one, it'll look great on my shelf behind me for all my Zoom calls.

One of the first products I wanted to check for this morning was a Sonos soundbar. Over the last few years, I've been slowly building my Sonos system, adding speakers here and there. Now, almost every room in my house has a Sonos speaker in it. By far, the product I'm happiest that I invested in is a Sonos surround system for my home theater setup, but I am looking to upgrade my soundbar. There is a great deal on the Sonos Beam Gen 2 with Dolby Atmos, and it's incredibly tempting. I'd be saving about $130. If you don't have Sonos, I have to ask, why not??

Scrolling back through Blu-Rays and I saw that Ready Player One is on sale for 11 bucks! I loved both the book and the movie (despite the differences!), and for $10.99, this is another really tempting addition to my collection.

In my opinion, Monk is one of the most underappreciated shows of all time. You can watch the whole series with a Prime Subscription, which there are also deals for today, or, if you want to be sure you never have to worry about this classic show starring Tony Shalhoub as the titular detective dropping off streaming, you can get this great deal on the complete series on DVD for just $29.99! It's a steal!

Like Sonos, I've been slowly upgrading the lighting in my house to all smart lights from Philips Hue. Also like Sonos, one of the first things I wanted to check on this morning was to see if there were any deals on lights, or, in this case, the 8K Sync Box. If you're not familiar, the Sync Box connects to your TV and, when combined with a light strip on the back of your TV, provides an amazing addition to your home theater set up by extending the colors of the edges of your screen and really makes movies come alive! You'll also need a Philips Hue Hub.

Okay, okay, this is amazing. I'm a huge James Bond and even though I feel like I've bought the collection a bunch of times over the years, this is still a really tempting offer for Prime Day. The entire Bond Collection on Blu-Ray, from Dr. No to Spectre, for $54.99! Sure, it's missing the final Daniel Craig film, No Time To Die, but you can add that one at a regular price and still save a ton of money for the whole franchise.

While we're looking at amazing deals on large collections, it's a good time to mention that the entire Game of Thrones series is also on sale for Prime Day for just $59.99. That's like, less than a buck an hour across 33 discs!

Kelly is a huge Lego fan, and while I loved them as a kid, that love has not translated to my adult life. I do, however, have a niece and nephew who love Lego AND Star Wars, so I am happy to say that my Christmas shopping is underway with this fantastic deal on an Imperial Star Destroyer.

Anyone who knows me knows just how important music is to me. I pretty much have to control the music wherever I am, and after buying who knows how many Bluetooth speakers over the years, I finally found one I really love for travel. The Ultimate Ears WONDERBOOM is by far the best travel speaker I've ever found, and they are on sale for Prime Day!

If you're a fan of classic cinema like me, but don't own any of Alfred Hitchcock's films on Blu-Ray, this is a wonderful set. Featuring six of his classics, Rear Window, Psycho, The Birds, North By Northwest, To Catch A Thief, and my personal favorite, Vertigo, along with all kinds of bonus material, this limited edition collection is a great way to start a collection.

My favorite movie ever is The Big Lebowski, and even though I've probably owned half a dozen different copies of the Coen Brothers classic on various types of media (it was the first DVD I ever bought back in the '90s), I'm always on the lookout for new and improved versions, like this 4K version on sale today for $24.99. Why not buy one more copy, right? This one has all kinds of extra goodies, too!

How about spending 13 bucks for one of the greatest music movies of all time? For $12.99, you can own a 4K Blu-Ray of Prince's legendary Purple Rain. I've never actually owned this movie, despite having seen it multiple times (and having been lucky enough to see Prince twice in concert). This may be the time to pull the trigger and crank it the Sonos system this weekend! Let's go crazy!

With James Gunn's Superman coming out this week, it's a great time to dive into the classic original Superman starring Christopher Reeve and Gene Hackman. No Blu-Ray collection is complete without it, if I'm honest. Having just watched it recently in anticipation of the new movie, I can confidently say that not only does the movie hold up, but it still might be my favorite superhero movie of all time. $14.99 for the 4K version is really tempting!

Even if you've seen The Princess Bride a million times (like I have), anytime there is a Criterion Collection 4K Blu-Ray edition of a movie like it, it's hard to pass up. There are soooo many goodies included here that everyone, even the most hardcore fans of the classic Rob Reiner-directed movie, is going to find something new.

One of my all-time favorite "remote droppers" has to be The Hunt for Red October. It's one of the rare movies that I've never, ever gotten sick of watching, even after watching it dozens of times. I've never actually owned it, though. This 4K Blu-Ray version of the first Jack Ryan movie looks pretty sick, so I might have to finally pony up and buy it for the first time.

Before I hand this live blog off to Nick, I'm going to finish up my stint for the day the way I started it, with a Funko Pop. My favorite figure in my collection is the limited edition Deadpool Bob Ross one, but I don't have a straight Deadpool one, like this one, available at a great deal today for 10 bucks!

What's old is new, and so on, but will the remakes ever beat out the classics? For VR Fans

Prime Day is realistically one of the better times of year to think virtually, as in discounts for Meta's line of VR and AR devices. The Meta Quest 3S 128GB Gorilla Tag / Cardboard Hero Bundle ($249.00, was $299.00) is likely as cheap as you'll find any 3S.

Of course, those willing to shell out for more digital storage space with the Meta Quest 3S 256GB ($329.00, was $399.99) can also get access to the acclaimed Batman: Arkham Shadow game via that bundle.

For Batman Fans

Speaking of the Caped Crusader's virtual adventures — as well as tying back into the earlier talk about Christopher Nolan's Dark Knight trilogy — let's show some love to Adam West and Burt Ward's vigilante efforts in the most cost-effective way possible, with the Batman (1960s) The Complete Series Blu-Ray ($29.99, was $89.99).

Holy price-cut, Batman! Not that Bruce Wayne needs to shop for anything on sale. Or shop at all, I guess.

For Bluey Fans

It feels like it's been a dog's age since we've seen TV's cutest and sweetest Blue Heeler family for new episodes of Bluey, so we might as well get busy with some of our own make-em-up adventures. For the more artistic sorts, Perler's Bluey 10-project fused bead kit ($16.48, was $21.99) will give fans hours of crafting fun.

I must warn against trying to play Keepy Uppy with any of these, even if you make balloons out of them. They will not float.

For Iron Man Fans

Amazon is known to push its own wares on costumers for Prime Day deals, and logically so. Someone who knows a lot about logic is Tony Stark, who had nothing to do with the development of Amazon's Echo products, even if there's something a bit J.A.R.V.I.S.-y about it all. In any case, those two worlds can be combined with this bundle comprising the Echo Dot with Iron Man Stand ($61.98, was $89.98).

My advice is to not refer to your Echo Dot as Tony, or I-Man or Mr. Love You 3000, because it's not going to work that well.

For The Simpsons Fans

Jakks Pacific came to the rescue a few years ago to fill the growing void of Simpsons action figures, and this four-pack should your wee fingers tremblin', as Groundskeeper Willie might or might not say. He might just scream if he saw the smaller version of himself included in Jakks Pacific's The Simpsons action figure 4-pack ($23.49, was $47,99), which also includes Bart + skateboard, Homer + donuts, and Otto + guitar.

Hopefully Otto isn't the one driving any of the Amazon vehicles required to get the package to customers' houses, because it might be a while, dude.

For Stranger Things Fans

I know that even though Stranger Things features teen characters, it's not necessarily for kids. But someone should probably explain that to all the companies marketing branded toys and merch that self-respecting adults wouldn't own. Errr. For Dexter Fans

It won't be long before Michael C. Hall is back on the small screen for his return to form in the star-studded Dexter: Resurrection, so I can't think of a bloodier and better opportunity to catch up on everything he's gone through over the years with this Dexter: The Complete Series + Dexter: New Blood Blu-ray set ($44.97, was $55.92).

Dexter: Original Sin isn't part of this set, but isn't fully necessary to understand the sequel series.

For Five Nights At Freddy's Fans

It's not an officialy FNAF neon light, to be sure, but that probably just means it won't come alive in the middle of the night to haunt your life. That's a plus in my book.

Thanks, Nick! I'm glad to be diving back into the deals. I've already been doing some digging around and found some fun deals, the first of which I'll share shortly!

Let's face it, some movie fans are going straight for the big titles when it comes to their apparel, but I thought I'd showcase a t-shirt that supports a less on-the-radar indie film... Threat Level Midnight (fans of Michael Scott's work know). You can get this stylish tee, which is a nod to The Office (and Steve Carell's character's effort to make an action movie) for the low price of $16.08.

Edge of Tomorrow hit theaters over a decade ago and I still can't get enough of it. Amazon's $10.99 deal for the 4k Ultra HD Tom Cruise sci-fi action movie is well worth checking out if you're looking to upgrade your copy (or buy it for the first time) for home viewing.

I know we're talking quite a bit about the home video (DVD and Blu-ray) deals available during Prime Day, but don't forget the platform is offering some seriously good deals on add-on streaming subscriptions. That includes a deal on Paramount+ that's just in time for the new season of Big Brother.

Ok, back to t-shirts. I love a good t-shirt, and Amazon has no shortage of shirts themed for book-lovers. There were several that I saw among the Prime Day deals that had the "Read books. Be Kind. Stay Weird." phrasing, which I adore. Here's one example, which is priced at $16.99.

Ready for another book recommendation? I actually have two! One of the 50% off books included in Barnes & Noble's sale is their exclusive edition of In The Lives of Puppets by TJ Klune. Not only do I love the sci-fi fantasy story, but this edition in particular is great for its gorgeous endpapers and "Rambo" foil case stamp. For $14.49, I'd buy it in a heartbeat if I didn't already have this edition on my shelf!

On the subject of TJ Klune -- and back to Amazon-specific deals -- the deluxe edition of the author's fantasy novel The House in the Cerulean Sea is available on Amazon for $11.69. This one appears to be a lightning deal, however, so that price may not last.

Both books are well worth checking out for adult/YA fans, especially if you're interested in great books featuring LGBTQ+ characters.

If you mess with John Wick, you're likely to pay a high price. That much is well known by anyone who's seen any of the movies in the Keanu Reeves action franchise. But if you just want to watch the fourth chapter in the excellent series, that price is quite reasonable. In fact, right now you can get the Blu-ray for just $10.49.

A good pair of socks is an underrated luxury, in my opinion. Several good pairs of socks is even better, and these Mandalorian-themed Star Wars socks not only look fit for any occasion, but they're also currently priced for just $11.04. This is the way to fashionable feet, am I right? Plus, the pack comes with 5 pairs, which means, if you want, you could even share them with your crew (<---sock joke).

Good morning, Hugh Scott Checking In For Day Two Of Prime Day

It's day two of Amazon Prime Day and we're firing the live blog back up in the search for great deals. Like yesterday, I'll be on the hunt for some great movie and tv shows deals, and hopefully some fun and useful gadgets for your home entertainment system. And of course anything else that looks fun to me. Let's get going!

I was just speaking to a co-worker about the Back to the Future trilogy and which of the sequels is the better movie, Part II or Part III. It's been a long time since I've seen the third, and I have long been on team Back to the Future Part II. The whole trilogy is on sale now for $29.99, and the set includes all kinds of behind-the-scenes stuff, commentaries, and more. It looks very cool.

Let's settle the debate!

Some shows are just worth owning. Chernobyl from HBO blew me away when it first aired in 2019, and it is just as powerful (and factually accurate) upon rewatch. It's one of the best miniseries ever produced. I haven't seen it on Blu-ray, and this is a really tempting deal for just $14.99.

Yet another example of me being very tempted to buy another copy of my all-time favorite movie, The Godfather, along with another favorite of mine, The Godfather Part II. There is a third movie here that I am vaguely familiar with as well. For just 26 bucks, the whole Godfather Trilogy on Blu-Ray.

What's better than all five seasons of one of the best TV shows of the 1980s for $32.93? Nothing, nothing at all. Miami Vice defined the '80s, and it featured some of the wildest cameos of all time back in the day. This is a great way to catch them all!

It's worth noting, because I don't think we have, that Fire Sticks are on sale, of course. I have one that I love and use a lot when I travel. They are small and easy to pack, and it's so much nicer to have my own setup in a rental house or hotel when I'm on the road.

I usually leave the book selections to Kelly, but I have to admit that I just bought this for Kindle. For 2 bucks, you can get the illustrated version of one of my favorite books, The Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy by Douglas Adams. I've read it multiple times, but I've seen this version and I'm really excited to dive back into it.

Speaking of travel, I've tried probably half a dozen different earbuds with noise cancellation, and in the end, I decided that, surprisingly, Apple AirPods were my favorites for watching movies and listening to music on planes. I use them for everything now, mostly while walking my dog. They are on sale for $119 for Prime Day.

I thought about not including this one, but in the end, this is a great deal. I'm the first to admit that Westworld went off the rails in its later seasons, but the first season is so good that picking it up as part of this box set of the complete series for just $37.49 makes sense. The price for just the first season on Blu-Ray is 30 bucks, so for just $8 or so more, you get a bonus three seasons that, while not as good, are still worth watching. It's an especially good idea since HBO inexplicably took it off their streaming platform.

STREAMING SERVICES

As we mentioned yesterday, there are some great deals on streaming services to be had this Prime Day (or should we just be calling it Prime Week at this point?) Check out some of the great deals that can be had here.

I'm very excited for the upcoming reboot of the '80s campy classic, The Running Man. The new one promises to follow Stephen King's original novel much more closely than the Arnold Schwarzenegger popcorn flick, which is cool, but there will always be something special about that ridiculous (in the best way) movie. You can get the original today on Blu-Ray as one of Amazon Prime Day's entertainment deals.

Brad Pitt's F1 has taken the box office by storm this summer, so it's worth looking back on Rush from 2013, starring Chris Hemsworth as legendary '70s Formula 1 driver James Hunt and his drive for the title in 1976. It features some amazing driving action and tells a really heartfelt story about the rivalry and friendship between Hunt and Niki Lauda (Daniel Brühl). For $23, it's a great movie at a great price on Blu-Ray

I mentioned the upcoming reboot of The Running Man earlier. It's directed by Edgar Wrights, whose early movies with Simon Pegg and Nick Frost are all classics. There is a great Prime Day entertainment deal on all three, Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz, and The World's End for just $19.99.

If you haven't heard, there is a new Downton Abbey movie coming out as part of the 2025 movie schedule! That means now is a great time to either dive into the series for the first time or revisit it if you haven't in a while. It's a show I've rewatched multiple times and find new, wonderful things about it all the time. The Collector's Edition is on sale now for Prime Day.

Yesterday I mentioned the Sonos Beam, and a great complement to it for your home entertainment center is the Sonos Sub Mini. It's great for smaller home theaters and apartments, as it won't blast you or your neighbors with too much bass! It's also on sale for Prime Day today!

I couldn't get through a whole day without mentioning one Funko Pop! I was scrolling through the long list of figures on the list of Prime Day entertainment deals, and I found this one of Ted Lasso for just $8.49! This is the kind of inspiration I need sitting on my desk to remind me of how great life is. Ted is the most positive person on TV, and we all need that kind of attitude!

For my final pick for a great Prime Day entertainment deal, I'm going back to one of my all-time favorite franchises, Dune. I've been a fan since I first read the first book back in high school, and I can't tell you how satisfied I was with Denis Vellenuve's two-part adaptation of the Frank Herbert classic. You can get them both on sale today!

Listen, I know I said I wasn't ready to let go of my Kindle Oasis with its lovely page-turning buttons. But it's kind of hard not to notice all the shiny new Kindles on Amazon, right? And look at this Kindle Colorsoft bundle with its green cover and charging dock....

I like the look of the color display, and the whole bundle is priced at $211.97 right now, which is really tempting... But yeah, I'm still too attached my Oasis right now. Or maybe I'm just holding out hope that Amazon will come out with a Kindle with buttons again someday in the future.

Tell me if you've heard this story before: It's all about how this one kid from West Philadelphia's life got flipped turned upside down....

You know where this is going -- home to Bel-Air, obviously! -- so let's get on with it. Sure, you can use your Hulu subscription to watch The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, or you can go old school and add this box set of the beloved Will Smith '90s TV series to your library for just $24.49.

Ready for a book rec, readers? Not going to lie, I'm a sucker for sprayed edges. But if I'm buying it and putting it on my shelf, I want to love the book too. That said, it's with zero hesitation that I suggest this deal on The Nightingale by Kristin Hannah.

Not only is the Deluxe edition of the 2015 historical fiction book gorgeous to look at with its sprayed edges, but it's also an incredibly moving story, particularly if you're interested in historical fiction set during World War II. And you don't need to take my word for it either, as the book has a whopping 4.6 (of 5) rating on Goodreads, with more than 1.8 million ratings submitted in the decade since its debut. Oh, and did I mention this Deluxe hardcover edition is only $13.17 right now on Amazon?

Let's stay on the topic of historical fiction set during World War II for a moment, as there's another deal I want to highlight. Steven Spielberg's intense, suspenseful and incredibly emotional 1998 movie Saving Private Ryan is one of his best and most memorable movies, as far as I'm concerned. And that's saying a lot when factoring in Spielberg's decades-spanning body of work.

If you're on the hunt for entertainment deals and interested in adding the Saving Private Ryan 4K UHD Blu-ray to your collection, now may be the right time, as Amazon has it on sale for $17.52.

While some of the Terminator movies are better than others (yes, I'm putting it nicely), the price for this 6-movie Blu-ray set is undeniably a steal $14.99 for fans of the franchise...

T-shirt time! Here's another deal for fans of The Office. This shirt works on numerous levels. Maybe you're a fan of The Office, or more specifically, Dwight Schrute... or more specifically Jim Halpert doing an impression of Dwight Schrute. Or maybe you're just a fan of bears, beets and Battlestar Galactica! Regardless of which applies here, you have good taste! We still have a few months to go before Wicked: For Good flies into theaters. That's plenty of time to revisit the classic 1939 film that preceded the more recent thrilling two-part musical. Amazon currently has The Wizard of Oz 4K Ultra HD blu-ray set on sale for $10.99.

Ok, let's try something a little bit different for this one. I dug through and found a bunch of books I've read that I either liked or absolutely loved and are currently available with a Prime Day Deal.

Friends is high on the list of TV shows I can't watch enough times. If you're in need of the beloved '90s sitcom on Blu-ray, now may be a good time to pick one up, as Amazon has this Complete Series Blu-ray set on sale for $37.49 among its numerous entertainment deals today.

You know how there are some movies you just need to watch when you need to watch them? San Andreas is one of those movies for me. I don't know what it is about the 2015 disaster movie, but I occasionally get a hankering for it, and it's not always available streaming.

My point is, San Andreas is on sale right now among Amazon Prime Video's Prime Day digital deals. I just grabbed the UHD digital purchase for $6.99 and I have no regrets. Future me who needs to see The Rock parachuting himself and Carla Gugino into a baseball stadium will be all set.

For Jurassic Park Fans

Jurassic World: Rebirth is currently crushing it at the box office, and it's a big reminder of just how far this franchise has come since the seminal 1993 adaptation. Anyone who wants to take a different kind of dino-filled trip back in time should pick up the Nintendo Switch's Jurassic Park Classic Games Collection, which includes Jurassic Park games for NES, Game Boy, SNES, and Sega Genesis; Jurassic Park 2: The Chaos Continues for SNES and Game Boy; and Jurassic Park: Rampage Edition for Sega Genesis.

Are some of these games also going to make players appreciate how far things have come? It's a safe bet.

For X-Men Fans

Comic book logos come and go without much to say when the changes are made, but I'm pretty sure the Marvel fanbase would erupt if the X-Men '97 and X-Men: The Animated Series logos would ever shift away from the big, blocky red-and-yellow, 3D-shadow font. That same font just so happens to be the whole look of the Paladone X-Men Logo Light, and that's 100% all it needs to be.

Now, it's technically too hot in my neck of the woods to even think the words "hoodie pullover" without my eyebrows automatically breaking into a sweat, but Bioworld's Friday the 13th hoodie ($13.20, was $39.99) seems like a great investment ahead of the winter months.

Also, I'm not sure if I've ever owned a coin purse before, least of all a horror-themed one. And I don't know how many coins I go through these days that would warrant it, but a Friday the 13th coin purse deal for $5.99 (was $14.99) is potentially convincing enough.

If anyone else out there is also a big fan of the completely unrelated Friday the 13th TV series, there's also a decent Prime Day deal for that set as well ($31.76, was $39.99).

Nobody wants to think about fighting a significant other's seven evil exes on Prime Day, because that's not a good deal at all. But repping one of the greatest bands to ever (not) exist (outside of Bryan Lee O'Malley's comic and Edgar Wright's adaptation)? They. Are. Sex Bob-Omb. 1, 2, 3, buy this Sex Bob-Omb shirt ($16.09, was $22.99)

If only there was an album and a bar tour to go along with the shirt.

We'll Be Back Again

Another morning and afternoon of Prime Day's entertainment deals are now in the rear-view mirror, but let's not part without at least one more awesome deal getting the spotlight.

In this case, it's the full compendium of one of the best comic strips to ever exist, The Complete Calvin and Hobbes [Paperback] at $70.89 (was $160.00).

Every single panels from the classic comic strip's 11-year history is included. I feel like Bill Watterson informed at least 33% of my sense of humor when I was Calvin's age, and I don't feel safe guessing how much that part of me has matured at all.

Good morning, everyone! We're back for day 3 of Prime Day! I'll be on this morning searching for more great entertainment deals and, of course, a Funko Pop or two and some fun gadgets to improve your audio/visual experiences!

Nick brought this one up on day one, but I just had to add how excited I am that the original 1960's Batman series is on special for just $29.99. This is one of those series that still hasn't popped up on a streamer anywhere, much to my chagrin, so now I'm thinking it's just time to buy it on Blu-Ray.

Speaking of content not on a streamer, at least not one I have subscribe to, here is one of my favs from when I was a kid. The Warriors is one of the most beloved cult classics of all time and the great thing about this deal, for just $9.37 you get the Blu-Ray and a digital copy. The best of both worlds to come out and plaaaaaaaay.

I won't be buying this for myself, but when I saw it in the lightning deals section this morning, I knew I had to include it here. There are a lot of Yellowstone fans out there, and while perfume may not be the first thing I think of when I think of the Taylor Sheridan-helmed hit, maybe some people do? I don't know, sometimes I just love wild marketing and product deals and this seems like a decent price for perfume, right?

As I've been scrolling and hunting over the last couple of days, I keep coming across the Blu-Ray version of Clue. The 1985 cult classic is a favorite of pretty much every staff member here at CinemaBlend, including me. It's a crime that Tim Curry didn't win every award, ever, for his performance, to say nothing of the amazing work by every cast member.

I also noticed that Peter Sellers' Murder By Death is a great Prime Day entertainment deal. If you haven't seen it, it's like the proto-Clue starring the comedic master and stellar cast of A-listers. It's every bit as wild and funny as the '80s murder mystery we all love.

There's been so much chatter lately, and rightfully so, about how Hollywood can only make money by making big-budget movies of existing IP. Then a film like Oppenheimer comes along and blows up those arguments completely. The Best Picture Winner at the 2024 Oscars is just a phenomenal movie, and seeing it on Blu-Ray blows streaming out of the water.

I always love having a fun case for my iPhone, and with James Gunn's Superman about to dominate the box office, this is a great way to get in on the fun. If you're like me, you like to mix up the cases that you use, so finding a good deal on a case is essential! It's available in a bunch of different sizes, too.

This is hardly a hot take, but my favorite TV show of all-time is The Wire. I've lost count of how many times I've watched each episode, but it's at least six or seven complete viewings of all five seasons and then some. Through all those viewings, I've never actually owned the series, but getting it on Blu-Ray now is really tempting.

This looks like a fantastic deal for Sherlock! Every episode of the BBC show starring Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman for just $25.99!

I love a great movie soundtrack. Whether it's an original score or a mix of great songs, I sometimes judge a movie completely by its soundtrack. I also love trivia games, and so when I saw this, I have to admit, I got very intrigued. The reviews seem pretty decent, so I think I'm going to give the (very generically named) Soundtrack Trivia Movie Game a try.

With all the devices we have today, it really helps to have a good, solid universal remote, and this is the one I've been using for years now, the SofaBaton U2. Remember those days of plugging in 4-digit codes? That's a thing of the past; we have apps now. This one is super simple to set up and customize and works with everything that I've needed it for, like Apple TV, my Samsung TV and Blu-Ray player, and more.

I end up watching a lot of movies and TV on my computer, and while it's certainly not ideal, one way to make it closer to my home entertainment center is by using some great speakers. These are the ones I've been using lately, and I really like them. The PreSonus Eris 3.5 Studio Monitors aren't going to break the bank (on a Prime Day entertainment deal for just $88.81), but they sound great and they won't hog a lot of space on your desk, either.

I just got a wild idea. This is what Prime Day does best... something I've thought about for a long time but haven't pulled the trigger on. I've been talking about getting one of those inflatable movie screens and a projector for my backyard for years. Where I live, it's too hot to watch movies outside right now, but in a couple of months it'll be perfect, so maybe now is the time to jump on a deal for both a projector and a screen.

Now this is a great deal, especially if you love classic movies! You can grab six classics from Columbia Pictures: It Happened One Night, From Here to Eternity, To Sir, With Love, The Last Picture Show, and As Good As It Gets. There are Prime Day entertainment deals on collections from Columbia as well.

This is just fun! I cook a lot, and usually I just use a boring, old plastic cutting board. Now I'm thinking I may need to step up my game with a Captain America Shield cutting board! Or better yet, this would be a great way to serve up some cheese and crackers for my movie nights with friends!

Well, it was bound to happen. I bought another Funko Pop Vinyl figure. I didn't even know this Lloyd Dobler one was available! As a Gen Xer, Lloyd will always be a film hero of mine.

I've been talking about how much I love my Sonos system for the last couple of days, so I thought it would be good to include the main Sonos speaker that I have in almost every room. I seriously can't imagine life without them. They come in both black and white, so you can make them work in any room.

One last classic movie collection on Blu-Ray. 2001: A Space Odyssey, The Shining, and Full Metal Jacket are three of Stanley Kubrick's best films, and for $24.99, it's a great deal for all of them.

Not only do these heart-hands look like they'll fit right in on my bookshelves, or maybe even my desk, but I think I might've finally found a way to display my Eras Tour friendship bracelets!

I saw World War Z years before I finally got around to reading the book on which it's based. While I get why book fans might have had issues with the 2013 Brad Pitt-starring adaptation of the zombie apocalypse story -- it's very different from its source material -- I still love the movie. I also really hope Prime Video or some other streamer re-adapts it as a limited series at some point, preferably in a faux-documentary style, but that's a separate conversation.

For Movie Soundtrack Fans

Some of the biggest songs of music's modern era have come from movies, but how quickly can you identify them all? I love shows like Name That Tune where the point is identifying songs by notes, so this Soundtrack Trivia Board Game ($29.99, was $49.99) sounds like the best of both worlds.

For Weird Al Yankovic Fans

Remember the days when it was highly inadvisable to opt for any other building block toys beyond LEGO, given how poorly crafted so many other companies' wares were? As I mentioned previously, I love doing a jigsaw puzzle while listening to a book or watching a movie. But a downside of this hobby is the amount of space a puzzle-in-progress takes up on a table. When I got back into doing puzzles, one thing I did not regret buying was this puzzle board, which not only provides a flat surface for my puzzle, but also allows me to relocate the incomplete puzzle if I need to get it out of the way.

I'm not quite ready for a full-series-so-far rewatch of The White Lotus after Season 3, but I know I will be at some point.

We've had quite the adventure sifting through so many of the deals at Amazon (and occasionally elsewhere) in search of the best entertainment deals we could find. Hopefully it helped and you found the deals you were looking for!

Of all the appliances and devices that are currently being utilized within my house on a monthly basis, I'd say streaming devices safely rank within the Top 10. They're not relied-upon necessities like the air conditioner or refrigerator, but get used for way more hours than a microwave or anything coffee-focused. Since those earliest days, I've used nearly every generation of Roku devices, and only those devices, but one of the early Amazon'Prime Day 2025 deals.

Okay, for broader context, my oldest Roku device overheated itself and rode off into its own sunset-themed screensaver, and that bedroom just sort of went without any consistent streaming usage. Once Amazon announced this year’s Prime Day event would take over nearly a full work week in July, my subconscious latched onto the idea of finding a Fire TV Stick deal when the right time came. Wouldn’t you know it, that time came sooner than expected, with this Fire TV Stick 4K deal popping up for the site’s early sales.

It goes without saying that Amazon did not balk at speedily getting the device to me before I could even begin to reconsider my brand shift for a return to Roku. Now that I've had a preliminary period to personalize things, make adjustments, and explore what there is to offer, I have some comparisons, contrasts and other thoughts to discuss.

First Impressions And Set-Up: The Remote Quickly Gives Fire TV Stick An Advantage

One of the issues that's become more annoying for me in terms of Roku devices — this could definitely be more of a "just me" issue as opposed to something more widespread — is how selectively limited the space can be where Roku remotes work as intended. I don't have the MIT degree or, like, graphs or whatever, to know where to put the thing so that I can walk from one obstruction-free room to the next without having to arc any part of my body to turn speed-deficient subtitles off of a sporting event.

Meanwhile, I can only assume that Amazon is responsible for constructive witchcraft, because I don't even have to see the Fire TV Stick, and the remote just already knows it's there. I'm kind of being sarcastic, but it does seem like an unobtainable nirvana whenever all one is used to is the aggravating opposite.

Setting things up was a timely affair, if not a complicated or confusing one, and the fact that all the streaming service apps I downloaded utilized QR Codes helped, since those eliminated all the password button-mashing. The biggsest extra plus here is that the Fire TV Stick remote is Alexa-equipped, making as much of the experience hands-free as possible for those who prefer that. (And for those whose voices are interpreted correctly.)

The Home Page: Roku Spotlights Apps, Amazon Spotlights Ads

For so many years, I've been used to seeing Roku's central hub, which I've always found to be pretty plain jane, but also extremely easy to use. Broader options on the left, apps in the middle, and ad space on the right. Nothing flashy, and nothing that makes me feel like I'm looking at a commercial that happens to connect to streaming apps lower down somewhere.

Amazon's interface, rather than going with a similar left-to-right split, instead fills the entire top portion of the main hub with a carousel of to-the-corners ads, some still images, and many auto-playing with audio. Some of the ads and previews also shift to full-screen if nothing is pressed. That setting can be (and was immediately) changed, but it's like having a waiter attempt to upsell you before taking your drink order.

The App Selection: Mostly Even For Entertainment

While everyone's tastes and needs will vary when it comes using apps for general entertainment means, whether it's catching up with the 2025 TV schedule or bingeing movies ahead of an upcoming theatrical release, Roku and Amazon's Fire TV Stick are mostly even. Once you get beyond services like Shudder and MGM+, app stores become the wild west of unlicensed programming, with logos written in prime color and comic sans, with names like "Free Cartoons 4 Kids To NJoy" and "Action Movies Immediately."

Roku Channel is available on the Fire TV Stick, and Prime Video is of course available on the Roku, so they also both get points for that I guess. Amazon also promotes its "Music Videos" app, which is like if MTV was On Demand., with videos from Taylor Swift to Cherry Glazerr to "Weird" Al Yankovic and so many others. (Granted, Roku produced its own comedic biopic Weird: The Al Yankovic Story, but that's neither here nor there.)

Performance And Resolution: No Clear Winner

Those with greater grasps on specs can speak to this far better than I can on a smaller scale. To my eyes, both Roku and Amazon's Fire TV Stick 4K appear to be on similar footing, but that's also without having used the latter that often so far. I don't know why it would suddenly start to look far superior or far worse only after a few weeks, but I'll grant that it's possible.

It should go without saying, but the 4K Fire Stick looks better on a 4K TV than a non-4K Roku does on a non-4K TV. I would assume the opposite is true, and I'll just have to trust my gut on that one.

Special Fire TV Stick Detail I Want To Point Out #1: Prime Gaming

Anyone looking to play video games or other kinds of games on Roku should flatten those expections into non-existence. There are a few worthwhile options tied to game shows and trivia, but it's even worse than the dregs of free movie apps.

Having an Amazon Prime subscription, however, opens up the Prime Gaming service, which features a limited library of popular games from the relatively recent past. Highlights include Death Stranding: Director's Cut, Fallout: New Vegas [IUltimate Edition], DUSK, Clem and Fortnite. It's not the biggest selection, but realistically supplies hundreds of hours of playing.

Special Roku Detail I Want To Point Out: Roku's Pop Culture Screensavers

Screensavers may not sound like a legitimate reason to champion one streaming device over another, but anyone who has spent way too damned long in front of an idle Roku device knows exactly where I'm coming from. Basically, the screensavers are video loops of illustrated seasonal or themed settings, with a multitude of movie references sprinkled throughout. From instantly recognizable superhero skyscrapers to easter eggs from romantic comedies to Golden Age creature features.

Not as active as Fortnite, but is easily the biggest brain-tickler of any screensaver I've ever seen in my life. I admittedly didn't make it a priority to sift through the Fire TV Stick's screensaver options, but I'll be sure to update this article and yell it from a mountain.

In the end, I don't yet have a specific preference, and I'm not yet sure whether my next device will be another Fire TV Stick, or if I'll revert back to being a Roku faithful. Thankfully, neither one is so much better than the other that either is a bad idea. In fact, when there's a big sale like Prime Day happening, it's almost a bad idea NOT to get a Fire TV Stick 4K.

In my 6 years of working on any kind of streaming deals, I don't recall an Apple TV Plus deal quite this good. Right now you can get 70% off Apple TV Plus for your first three months. Considering Apple TV Plus never reduces its price over peak periods like Black Friday, this feels like a rare gem of a saving that you'll want to make the most of if you've been keen to watch hit shows like Severance as well as The Studio and OG faves like Ted Lasso, The Morning Show, and Slow Horses.

What's Worth Watching On Apple TV Plus Right Now?

The 2025 TV schedule is packed full of exciting releases, and Apple TV Plus has a slice of that pie (apple). Its latest release includes Your Friends & Neighbors, starring Jon Hamm as the disgraced hedge fund manager starts stealing from his neighbors in the affluent area he lives. We've also seen the long anticipated Severance Season 2 finally drop onto the service, now available to watch in full, with a second outting for The Buccaneers on the horizon too in June, starring Gossip Girl alumni Leighton Meester.

Even if you aren’t closely paying attention to what books have readers (and booktubers, and booktokers, etc) obsessing over, there’s a good chance you’ve caught wind of the buzz surrounding Fourth Wing. Rebecca Yarros’ popular dragon-filled romantasy series (also known as the Empyrean series) took readers by storm pretty much right after it debuted in 2023, and that storm (heh) only grew leading up to the release of the third book in the series, Onyx Storm.

If I hadn’t already read the Fourth Wing books (or didn’t already own more copies of these books than I care to admit right now), I’d be jumping on this deal. Target already has a decent discount on the books, plus Circle members get 5% off at check-out (which does seem to apply here, I checked!), and it just so happens that there are currently exactly three books in the Fourth Wing series (so far, anyway — more are expected).

Target says the discount is calculated using the lower priced item. I priced it out in my cart just to see the cost for all three books with the deal and it came to $38.23 (that's including sales tax for my state, so the exact price will vary depending on your state -- and that price includes the Target Circle Card 5% discount, and free shipping). That’s a pretty great deal for three hardcover books.

While those of us who already love the series continue to wait for more news about the planned TV show, not to mention what the next book in the series will be called, if you’re thinking these books might need to be your next read -- and it does seem like there will be some time before the next book comes out -- Target’s deal seems like a great option.

Here are a few things you might want to know about the Fourth Wing books:

I'm a big reader. On average I read around 60 books a year, and the vast majority of those are physical books I've accumulated over time. I've personally never got on with audiobooks, and nothing really beats being able to crack the spine (sorry!) on a physical book, but the unveiling of Amazon's latest Kindle, the Kindle Colorsoft, did stop me in my tracks for a number of reasons. The fact it's just dropped to its lowest ever price in the Amazon Big Spring Sale also has me strongly considering becoming a eReader convert.

While not Amazon's most expensive Kindle (that title goes to the Kindle Scribe), it doesn't come cheap. The Amazon Kindle Colorsoft RRPs at $279.99, but for the Amazon Big Spring Sale it's had $55 knocked off. Down to $224.99, this is the lowest price it's ever been – previously reduced to $229.99 back at the beginning of February.

The 20% price cut sure does take the edge off, but could this make it a best-seller over the course of this week's sale? Well, it's the first of many reasons I'm starting to wonder whether I need to cut down on physical books and make the leap to the Kindle Colorsoft. That, and thinking about all the upcoming book to screen adaptations I can get ahead of with.

The Amazon Kindle Colorsoft Just Dropped To Its Lowest Ever Price

A deal is as good a reason as any to start to seriously consider a purchase you'd otherwise been ruminating on. The Amazon Kindle Colorsoft is Amazon's second most expensive eReader, but the Amazon Big Spring Sale, as mentioned, sees it drop to its lowest ever price. Considering its still so new, a 20% saving isn't bad at all. It's also worth noting Amazon reduces its devices the most during its own sales. That means the Big Spring Sale, along with Prime Day later in the summer, are opportune times to save on Kindles, Echo speakers, and Fire Sticks.

The Kindle Doesn't Take Up Any Room (Unlike Books)

The reality of being an avid bookworm hits home hardest when it comes to moving. Hauling hundreds of books from one place to another is no easy feat, and books and bookcases sure do take up a lot of space. You know what doesn't? A Kindle. I love the idea of having my own home library, and I'd never give up on that dream entirely. But perhaps I need to become a bit more picky about the books I physically buy. Read it on my sparkly new Kindle Colorsoft and, if it's an all-time new favorite, add it to the shelves.

I Can Annotate Books With The Kindle Colorsoft

Short of starting a riot with fellow readers with my proclivity for cracking spines, I'm also the kind of reader that quite likes to annotate my books – in pen. Generally it's just underlining favorite lines and adding a sticky tab to find it later. With the Kindle Colorsoft I can do this too, with the choice of four highlight colors, functioning as a means to annotate and tab in one with the options for colors to correspond to a different theme, etc.

Obviously the unique selling point of the Colorsoft is that its screen is in color, offering the Kindle's fantastic paper-like display but with a little more flare. As someone who writes book reviews online and therefore accompanies those reviews with a picture, the Kindle Colorsoft is far more aesthetically pleasing than other Kindles, allowing you to still get the full effect of a book cover, where other eReaders offer a far more monochromatic, dull visual.

There's also plenty of other things about the Kindle Colorsoft that make it a great eReader – though much of this is available across all the Kindle models. You'll get up to 8 weeks of reading time on a single charge. Its glare-free screen means you can read in any weather, with the option to set it to auto adjust to your surroundings. The Kindle Colorsoft is also waterproof, for all that poolside or bath time reading. It's a good looking little device, that's for sure, and a haven for people like me who may have reached the threshold of owning too many books...

I've made no secret of how great I think the new Disney Plus Hulu deal is, and that's in part because I've only seen this $2.99 price over Black Friday – making it about eight months early, with the price predicted to appear once again come November. That in itself feels exciting to me when you consider how rare it is we see streaming deals as good as this. However, it's fair to say the deal on the Disney Plus bundle might not be that good for everybody – and there are definitely drawbacks to this offer I want to be frank about.

What Is The Disney Plus And Hulu Bundle Deal?

The Disney Plus Hulu Bundle Deal Isn't As Good As It Was Over Black Friday

While the price is the same, you can't benefit from the $2.99 a month Disney Plus Hulu bundle offer for as long as you could over Black Friday last November. If you'd subscribed then, you would have been able to secure the 72% saving for the next 12 months. This time around, you'll only get the lower price for your first four months (though this is still in time for some exciting upcoming titles like The Handmaid's Tale's final season). This could mean, come Black Friday 2025, you are eligible to sign up to the deal again, but I obviously don't know with 100% certainty that we will see the same deal again. It does seem likely, though, given the patterns we've seen on the best streaming deals over the last few years.

You Can Only Save On The Ad-Supported Disney Plus Hulu Bundle

Would it hurt Disney Plus to offer a bit of variety? And the rest of the streaming giants out there, for that matter. Whenever there are discounts on the Disney Plus price and the like, it's always on their ad-supported plans. I get it, streaming services want more people to subscribe to the cheaper, ad-supported plans. The more subscribers those packages have, the more they can charge for those ad slots. But for those of us who don't have the patience for commercial breaks every 15 minutes, it would be nice to see some money off the ad-free versions of these bundles. As mentioned above, though, you can only save on the Disney Plus and Hulu ad-supported package.

There Aren't Ever Deals On The Disney Plus and ESPN Plus Or Max Bundles

This isn't dissimilar from my previous point, but wouldn't it be cool if there were at least occasionally deals on the other bundles available? You can throw together Disney Plus with Hulu and ESPN Plus or Max. Obviously it's pricier and the saving would need to reflect that, but these are such great all-encompassing packages that need more time in the limelight. Granted, if you want to watch those services you'll subscribe to your preferred bundle regardless, but if streaming services want to incentivize new sign-ups, I don't see why we can't give a little discount love to some of the other great packages available. Especially with the likes of The Last of Us Season 2 coming up where people who aren't permanently subscribed to Max could be swayed to part with more cash for more entertainment over the baseline $9.99 a month Max plan.

That said, if the deal not having Max is putting you off getting this deal...

If You're Waiting To Watch The Last Of Us, The Disney Plus and Hulu Bundle + Max Is Still Cheaper

It's definitely easier to have one payment covering all three services. However, if you're all good with ads and want all the awesome entertainment from Disney Plus and Hulu, as well as wanting to watch The Last of Us when the new season premieres (or any other new Max releases for that matter), it's still cheaper to subscribe to the current Disney Plus and Hulu deal and then get a direct subscription with Max. Costing $9.99 a month for its ad-supported plan, the total cost for the two would be $12.98 a month. That's a $4 saving on the Disney Plus, Hulu, and Max bundle which costs $16.99 a month.

What Other Disney Plus Bundle Deals Are Available?

Sadly there aren't any offers on the rest of the bundle options. However, if you want to skip out on the $2.99 a month steal, these are the other packages and price points available.

I make no secret about the fact I think the Disney Plus bundle is such a steal. You can bring together some of the most exciting streaming services in one payment and tick off all your most anticipated releases. With the return of the $2.99 a month Disney Plus Hulu bundle, the deal has arrived just in time for me to tick off some of my most anticipated releases on the 2025 TV schedule – and there's a movie I'm pumped for, too.

Down from $10.99 a month to $2.99 a month, you can save 72% on the Disney Plus bundle for the first four months of your subscription. The Handmaid's Tale Season 6

It's been over two years since we saw June and Nichole get on a train to Vancouver and come face to face with Serena with her son, Noah – so much so I definitely need a full recap on what's happened so far ahead of The Handmaid's Tale Season 6, landing on Hulu next month. My failing memory aside, this has to be one of my most anticipated TV moments of the year – if not the last two since the Season 5 finale. Far surpassing the parameters of Margaret Atwood's dystopia, we have no framework for which to determine where the story will take us next and, ultimately, conclude with this being the sixth and final season. There are plenty of loose ends to tie-up, namely if June will finally manage to rescue her daughter Hannah from the grips of Gilead, and how, if at all, they will take down the regime.

The Handmaid's Tale Season 6 premieres April 7 on Hulu.

Moana 2

A follow-up to the 2016 hit, Moana and Maui reunite and once again leae Motunui behind, setting out on a voyage to find the lost island of Motufetu, break a long-kept curse, and reconnect the ocean's people. Auli'i Cravalho and Dwayne Johnson lend their voices once again to the characters, though I'm sad to learn Lin-Manuel Miranda did not pen the songs after some real beauties in the first film. Still, I've been waiting patiently for this release, having missed out on its theatrical release at the end of last year. With Heihei and Pua sure to offer some comic relief throughout, the movie was originally meant to be a TV show for Disney Plus. Regardless, it's now about to arrive on the platform in its final form!

Moana 2 arrives on March 12 on Disney Plus.

Good American Family

I've been after a good TV show to get my teeth into and this sounds like it's on the money. An eight-part limited drama based on the true life story of Ukrainian immigrant Natalie Grace, Good American Family stars Imogen Faith Reid as Natalie Grace and Ellen Pompeo (Grey's Anatomy) and Mark Duplass (The Morning Show) as her adoptive parents Kristine and Michael Barnett. Believing to have adopted a seven year old child with dwarfism, Kristine and Michael soon start to suspect how old Natalie is and where she truly came from.

Good American Family premieres on March 19 on Hulu.

Mid-Century Modern

Admittedly, there's a lot of hard-hitting dramas on my list. Need a reprieve? Another Hulu Original incoming, it could be your new favorite sitcom. Mid-Century Modern is about three best friends, Bunny (Nathan Lane), Arthur (Nathan Lee Graham), and Jerry (Matt Bomer, Fellow Travelers), all gay men "of a certain age", who decide to live together in Palm Springs with Bunny's wealthy mother. A show about chosen family and never being too old to find love and companionship, this looks like a hearty, hilarious watch to break-up the woes of life.

Mid-Century Modern premieres on March 28 on Hulu.

With even more shows promised across the next four months – and the rest of 2025 – including the second season of Andor and Percy Jackson and the Olympians, what shows are you looking to tick off and stream with this saving on the Disney Plus price?

As an NBA diehard, few things are enjoyable to me as attending a game. Never in a million years did I think that streaming a game on my newly purchased Meta Quest 3 would possibly live up to the hype of attending a game in person. After watching a recent game in the Meta Horizon Worlds' NBA Arena, I'm thrilled to say I was wrong, and while I have one big gripe, there's a lot to love about this.

There aren't currently any significant deals on the Meta Quest 3, though the release of the 3S at the end of last year did see the 3 model drop somewhat from its original RRP.

Sure, the buy-in price for a Meta Quest 3 or 3S is still pricey, but there are some cool bundles out there that get you one of the most-acclaimed VR games out there – Batman: Arkham Shadow – and 3 months of Meta Quest+, saving you in the long run.

It also gives a truly unprecedented value in putting NBA fans at some of the hottest games of the season, for free. There are still plenty of games on the schedule to check out for those who haven't or wish to, and if you are on the fence, let me sway you.

The Courtside View Provides An Incredible Experience That Feels Real

I've never paid to sit courtside at an NBA game, but the VR experience certainly showed me why it's worth the price. I could see the physicality of the game up close and personal, I could hear players chatting back and forth during the game, and I could even gauge the odds of a shot going in better than I could at a regular game. It was incredible, and even though I was in my living room, it truly felt like I was there.

What's better is that even when the game goes to commercial, you're still in the arena watching all the fun of giveaways, fan cams, and all of that other stuff. I'm sure actually sitting courtside would be the superior experience, but to travel to multiple NBA arenas a season from the comfort of my living room and get that kind of fun? I think it's a close second. It's certainly way better than the regular TV experience.

Television Commentary Remains, Along With A Bonus View Of The Game Feed

Speaking of, as fun as attending a game can be, I'd be remiss if I didn't mention there are perks to watching on television as well. One thing I always miss is listening to the commentary team, who can fill in the blanks on foul calls and give additional analysis that sports fans may need to better understand the game. Fortunately, that remains in the audio even when watching from courtside, and for those who want to see what the game feed looks like, they need only look up at the NBA Arena jumbotron for the game feed that's airing on television.

Watching At Home Is Loads More Comfortable Than In An Arena

While I love the atmosphere of an NBA game, the seating can leave much to be desired. Stadiums are meant to seat as many people as safety allows, which can make the seats quite cramped.

So, imagine the joy of sitting courtside and doing so with all the arm and leg space in the world on the comfiest chair in your home? I had a beverage on my end table close by, and while it was admittedly tricky to grab while immersed, it was still far better than sitting shoulder to shoulder with strangers. I do not miss having to stand or shift my legs whenever someone needs to pass me during the regular stadium experience.

My One Gripe? Some People Show Up Just To Be Annoying, Which Can Be Frustrating

One thing you learn very quickly when using Meta Horizon Worlds is that there are a lot of people who are simply on there to be annoying. During the game, a guy was running around, not paying attention to the game whatsoever, and was doing his absolute best to try and bother people. He was successful with one poor woman, as he found an interactive beach ball in the stands and blocked her field of vision so that she missed the game's final minute. Not cool bro.

Fortunately, Meta has options to block and mute troublemakers on the platform, but I think the process could be better streamlined so that it's easier for those to access in the heat of the moment. It stunk to be unable to help that woman in the moment, especially after a last-second game winning layup sealed the game.

Beyond that, I can't recommend watching NBA games on the Meta Quest 3 enough, and hope to see more collaborations between professional sports and the platform going forward. Let's get the NFL, MLB, and NHL in on the fun!

For film evangelists, there is likely a very specific way in which someone should watch a movie. Giant 4K TVs and surround sound systems come to mind. Four years into her grief, Bridget is looking to get back into the saddle and wade into the murky waters of modern day dating AKA the dreaded apps... Also starring Leo Woodall, Chitwetel Ejiofor, and Hugh Grant, it's sure to be another hilarious romp.

Wicked Part One

My one negative note about this adaptation of an adaptation (it was a book first, y'all) is that we didn't get the whole thing in one go. But also, I get it: how are we meant to cope with Jonathan Bailey in both "Dancing Through Life" and "As Long As You're Mine" in one movie. I would probably go into cardiac arrest. Anyway. You'll soon be able to watch Wicked: Part One through Peacock. While a date hasn't been announced as of yet, it is imminent and considering the Peacock deal is for a whole year, you'll be able to squeeze in as many viewings of this musical as you like. And if you've been living under a rock, Wicked: Part One brings the Broadway musical to the silver screen, traversing the origin story of The Wizard of Oz's villain, the Wicked Witch of the West and her friendship with the Good Witch. Starring Cynthia Erivo as Elphaba and Ariana Grande as Glinda, Wicked: Part One has ten nominations at the upcoming Oscars.

Also with a handful of Oscar nominations itself, you can watch Conclave right now on Peacock, starring Ralph Fiennes. Directed by Edward Berger, this thriller also stars Stanley Tucci, John Lithgow, and Isabella Rossellini, and follows a sacred event that has remained secret since ancient times – the selection of a new Pope. In this thriller, Cardinal Lawrence (Fiennes) is tasked with orchestrating the process after the unexpected death of the current Pope. Bringing together the most powerful leaders in the Catholic Church, they must stow themselves away in the Vatican and pick from candidates. Finding himself at the heart of a conspiracy, Conclave won Best Screenplay at the Golden Globes and is nominated for eight Academy Awards, including Best Picture and Fiennes has picked one up for Best Actor.

The Wild Robot

Another Oscars nominee, The Wild Robot is up for Best Animated Feature Film and features a star-studded line-up including Lupita Nyong'o, Pedro Pascal, Kit Connor, and Bill Nighy. Equal amounts heartwarming and perhaps surprisingly terrifying, The Wild Robot sees a robot called Roz (Nyong'o) shipwrecked on an uninhabited island. Roz must learn to survive in the harsh climate, and over time forms bonds with the other animals living on the island. This includes a fox voiced by Pascal and an orphaned gosling called Brightbill that Roz must help to take care of. A story of self-discovery and the intersection of technology and nature, it is adapted from Peter Brown's New York Times bestseller of the same name.

The holidays can often feel like the most magical time of the year, largely due to the mix of frosty weather and colorful decorations, with shopping and gift-giving also part of that elixir. While Yellowstone’s fifth season brought in an insanely high number of viewers, sometimes I forget just how popular it is. Then I take one moment to scroll through Amazon’s pages of merchandise for the show, and I’m hit with a wall of wild proof that shows just how popular and beloved this drama is. So, now that Yellowstone has aired its final episode on the 2024 TV schedule, here are some wild and unique pieces of merchandise to help fans remember this modern Western.

Overall, the world of absurd Yellowstone merchandise is vast and ever-expanding (especially with more upcoming Yellowstone shows on the way), and honestly, they make for some very good and creative gifts. So, if you have a fan of this show in your life and you are looking for a way to commemorate these last five seasons, maybe consider buying one or more of these items.

The Marvel Cinematic Universe has become quite expansive and features various people, locations, objects etc. There are plenty of elements of Disney’s high-grossing IP that are heavily discussed by fans, and one is the timeline. It can sometimes be difficult to chronically trace the events that transpire across the movies, TV shows and shorts that make up the continuity, and I’ve struggled with that myself. So I’m very surprised I don’t own the official MCU timeline book, and fans should as well ahead of the highly anticipated Avengers: Doomsday. Honestly, it would make a great last minute Christmas gift for any Marvel fan.

Why I Personally Want This Sweet MCU-Centric Book

In 2023, Marvel Studios The Marvel Cinematic Universe An Official Timeline was released. Written by Anthony Breznican, Amy Ratcliffe and Rebecca Theodore-Vachon, the comprehensive book dives deep into the bombastic chain of events that have unfolded during the MCU’s first four phases. So one might learn just when Captain America woke up in the present day ahead of the events of The Avengers. There may also be those who want to know the span of time in between Scarlet Witch’s appearances in WandaVision and Doctor Strange 2.

This sublime piece of text appeals to me for more than a few reasons. One of the obvious factors is that I’m a longtime fan of this continuity and am eager to know every little bit of it. Not only that but, as I alluded to above, it hasn’t always been easy for me to track major events in the MCU. Sure, I’ve watched the Marvel movies in order a number of times, though the events of those films don’t always take place in real time. For example, I was totally thrown off by that flub in 2017’s Spider-Man: Homecoming.

Simply put, I want to grab this timeline guide, activate my Disney+ subscription and stream the Infinity and Multiverse Sagas while reading along in the book. You may be a fan who’s not sold on this book immediately, but believe me when I say you should consider making this purchase.

Why This Book Is Truly A Must-Own For Marvel Fans

Some upcoming Marvel movies are going to be quite eventful and have a major impact on the cinematic universe as a whole. The two films that could truly be game changing for the franchise from a narrative standpoint are Avengers: Doomsday and Secret Wars, which will debut in 2026 and 2027, respectively.
