There was a point in the early 2000s when Keira Knightley was one of the most famous actresses on the planet, mostly thanks to portraying Elizabeth Swann in Disney’s megahit Pirates of the Caribbean but also due to roles in Star Wars, Love Actually, Bend it like Beckham and more. To me, she’s pretty perfect, but to some other fans she’s …. apparently Natalie Portman?

While promoting her new movie The Woman in Cabin 10, Keira Knightley revealed that she gets approached by fans all the time. The only problem? They aren’t always her fans. She told HitsRadioUK she’s so used to this happening now that when fans send Portman a compliment, she just openly accepts it, saying:

’m sure there are plenty of people who know who Portman is, but fans of George Lucas’ Star Wars probably completely understand the mixup. In fact, Natalie Portman definitely understands the mix-up, as she’s admitted people think she’s Keira Knightley all the time, too.

Back in 1999, when the then-latest Star Wars movie The Phantom Menace came out, Knightley famously was dressed up as Queen Amidala in the movie, while Portman played the real Amidala dressed as a handmaiden. People still mix the two up in the movie, and Knightley herself is occasionally confused about her Star Wars gig, so I suppose it shouldn't be a surprise this happens elsewhere, too. However, if you saw them together in real life, you’d probably never make the mistake, as Keira grew from her 12-year-old self into a woman who is reportedly 5’7” while Natalie Portman capped at around “5’3” (and her shortness is legendary in the Marvel Universe).

Keira Knightley Can Always Tell When A 'Real' Fan Knows Who She Is

Of course, some of her best fans are still kids, in particular athletic kids, who are still watching her and inspired by her work in Bend if like Beckham. When asked what she most gets recognized for, she said in the same interview:

So, the fans who know exactly who she is probably make up for any blips from those Star Wars fans who still mix them both up more than 25 years later.

She’s in good company, as people think Mark Wahlberg is Matt Damon a fair amount. (Which, honestly what? At least Matt Damon knows Jesse Plemons is his look-alike.) And the legendary mix-up of Dylan McDermott and Dermot Mulroney has existed long enough SNL has mocked it. More recently, Glen Powell and This is Us’ Justin Hartley have been frequently mistaken for one another. So this sort of thing happens more than you might think.

Many spoilers ahead for the first and second episodes of Game of Thrones' eighth and final season.

Game of Thrones isn’t making fans wait long for the big battle of its eighth and final season, as the Battle of Winterfell goes down in the third episode. Early spoilers revealed that Winterfell isn’t going to escape unscathed, and a Thrones assistant director revealed that the shoot lasting for 55 nights in a row.

The first two episodes of Season 8 set the stage for the big battle, and now, only days away from seeing the last stand of the living against the dead, we have to consider: does Winterfell stand a chance against the White Walkers?

Now, I’m not saying that fans should prepare themselves to see all the characters currently in the North dead and gone and/or wighted by the end of Episode 3, but there are reasons to doubt that Winterfell itself will survive with many people left alive in the aftermath. Main players like Jon and Dany are unlikely to bite the dust; others’ fates are less certain.

So, as we count down the days before the Battle of Winterfell, let’s take a look at the factors in favor of Winterfell surviving the White Walkers and against Winterfell surviving. The stage has been set; what will happen?

Winterfell Stands

The Night King may have amassed a huge army of the dead that has the potential to only get larger the farther south it marches, but he could not be facing a more formidable group of foes. Grouped together at Winterfell are arguably the best fighters, the best strategists, the best leaders, and the only two known dragonriders other than the Night King himself. Oh, and the Three-Eyed Raven.

As much as the army of the dead is vast and seemingly inexhaustible, the people fighting for the living retain autonomy that could be key to defeating the White Walkers and their army. The wights are basically ice zombies, so the human fighters don't need to worry that they'll be outsmarted, and they can be incapacitated even if they can't be killed.

With the dragons in the mix, the wights might not even pose that big of a threat until they breach the walls of Winterfell, which we can safely say is going to happen based on promos and the fact that the good guys actually need the Night King to at least try to make it to the godswood to kill Bran/the Three-Eyed Raven. Rhaegal and Drogon can roast the ice zombies to their hearts' delight, as long as they stay out of range of the White Walkers' spears.

The humans also have one big advantage over the army of the dead. The cause of the living might be seriously damaged if Dany or Jon or some other key leader falls in battle, but they won't all fall down lifelessly. If the living manage to kill some White Walkers, they can take down dozens and perhaps even hundreds and thousands of wights at once.

The Night King is of course the top target, as taking him out would take them all out, but one by one isn't a terrible plan either, and there's no shortage of dragonglass weapons thanks to Gendry and the other smiths at the forge. There's even some Valyrian steel in play, thanks to Ser Jorah with Heartsbane, Jon with Longclaw, and Arya with her dagger. Throw in Bran's knowledge as the Three-Eyed Raven, and they actually have a lot going for them.

So, the cause of the living isn't hopeless, despite the beliefs of pretty much everybody at Winterfell, and the whole "last night on earth" atmosphere did make for some fantastic character development.

If they weren't all mostly convinced that they were hours away from death, would Jaime have knighted Brienne? Would Sam have handed over Heartsbane? Would Arya have propositioned Gendry, and then gotten her way? Even Sansa and Theon might not have had their quiet moment together.

The end may not be as nigh as they and many of us thought. The living have dragons, autonomy, intelligence, Valyrian steel and dragonglass, the Three-Eyed Raven, and easy targets in the form of the White Walkers. That's not to say that they'll be able to easily kill those easy targets, but a little optimism never hurt, right?

Winterfell Falls

Well, a little optimism could at least make the wait until Episode 3 a little easier. Winterfell does have a shot at standing and even most of the people surviving, depending on whether or not the crypts stay sealed with all the non-fighters hidden inside. That said, most fans who have been watching Game of Thrones for eight seasons probably know better than to be too optimistic, and too many happy things happened in Episode 2 for Episode 3 to likely be packed with victories.

There are really just too many wights for the living to handle, and the Night King's ranks can grow as soon as the living fall in the fight. Jon's first big battle against them at Hardhome proved that quantity defeats quality when it comes to the living vs. the dead with their White Walker masters, and the dragons can't be everywhere at once. It's also possible that Dany will be wary of taking them too far away from the castle, given what happened the last time she and her dragons were exposed among the dead.

Then again, if one of her dragons falls, it would be best for everybody else if that happened far enough away from Winterfell that nobody was crushed. Now, speaking of dragons, the cavalier attitude of the folks at Winterfell about Viserion is what really takes me aback and makes me think that Winterfell is pretty much doomed.

The good guys aren't unaware that the Night King reanimated Viserion and used him to break through The Wall. Bran said as much after Jon and Dany arrived at Winterfell, but that didn't stop Dany from taking Jon for a romantic dragon ride throughout the Northern country. In all the preparations and new weapons and fortifications being constructed in Episode 2, I didn't see a scorpion like the one Bronn used to almost take down Drogon back when Dany first unleashed her dragons on the people of Westeros.

The living can't fling magical ice spears at dragons to knock them out of the sky, and they have to know that Viserion is coming. If they don't have a plan for Viserion that wasn't revealed in Episode 2 and was just being saved for an epic reveal in Episode 3, then I might not actually blame the bad guys if they do some serious damage with their undead dragon. The living had a chance to prepare themselves to take on Viserion; if he destroys them or cripples their cause, it's their own fault.

I actually have a longstanding theory that Winterfell burns due to dragonfire, potentially because it becomes overrun with the dead and Dany decides to just roast it with all the wights and Walkers inside. Maybe even with people inside, and she continues showing shades of Mad Queen Daenerys.

Whether or not that is true, I'm leaning toward not much being left of Winterfell other than the crypts. There will of course be survivors, as the season will only be half over following the battle, and the game of thrones itself won't be completed until Cersei enters the fold.

Basically, the White Walkers and their army have the numbers, the stamina, the ability to kill dragons, and a dragon of their own now that they march on Winterfell. Their opponents other than the Dothraki and Unsullied are largely inexperienced Northmen, and only a handful of the people at Winterfell really truly understand what they've facing. The fear alone could scatter the living.

Spoilers ahead for the first episode of Game of Thrones Season 8.

Game of Thrones began way back in Season 1 with the game seemingly set to be played between the four major noble houses of Westeros: Baratheon, Stark, Lannister, and Targaryen. Surprisingly, Robert's line of House Baratheon was taken almost entirely out of the game by the end of the first episode of Season 2. Robert was dead, Joffrey and his siblings were Cersei's kids with Jaime, and Robert's many bastards from King's Landing were all murdered.

Well, almost all. Gendry escaped, and he's the last surviving member of the Baratheon bloodline. Renly didn't outlive Robert by long, and Stannis saw to it that his only trueborn child was dead before he was finally killed by Brienne of Tarth. All that is left of the mighty Baratheon line, known for their words of "OURS IS THE FURY," is a bastard who didn't know his father was Robert until Melisandre took him to meet Stannis.

Well, if Game of Thrones has proved anything, it's that a bastard -- or at least, somebody who believed himself to be a bastard -- can rise to great heights, and the first episode of Season 8 raises the question: is Game of Thrones foreshadowing the return of House Baratheon?

Gendry Is Back

The biggest point in favor of House Baratheon's return is obviously the fact that Gendry is back in the mix. He was part of what clued Ned into the truth that Cersei's children were pure Lannister, joined up with Arya at the end of Season 1, and was an important part of her journey through Season 3... until he was bought by Melisandre and very nearly sacrificed so she could use his king's blood for nefarious purposes.

This was back before Stannis was willing to let his own daughter be sacrificed. Davos saved Gendry in the Season 3 finale, and Gendry famously rowed away from the shores of King's Landing, not to be seen again until Season 7, when he was ready and willing to swing a warhammer with a stag on it. He even survived his improbable run back to The Wall after joining the Fellowship of the Wight on their quest to find proof of the White Walkers' army of the dead.

Now, he's at Winterfell with some of the key contenders for the Iron Throne as well as some of the few people left alive who really knew Robert Baratheon. Unless he dies in the big battle that's coming up -- which is entirely possible -- then the stage is set for him to have more importance moving forward.

As king? Honestly, I hope not. He's a good guy, a great blacksmith, and could be a passable Lord of Storm's End. But king? I'm not even sure if Gendry ever had the means to learn how to read.

He Got A Heroic Arrival (With A Familiar Score)

Of course, Gendry simply being back doesn't mean that House Baratheon is on its way back, but the opening scene of Season 8 had a score that should have reminded any who recently rewatched the series premiere of Robert Baratheon. Although the Season 8 premiere score isn't identical to "The King's Arrival" score from Season 1, it's very, very similar, and Gendry got his own moment in the spotlight during the procession of Dany's forces into Winterfell.

Admittedly, he got his moment of focus because Arya was the one watching and she had reason to smile that her pal was alive and looking well. The score was used to herald the arrivals of the queen and potential king-to-be while also functioning as a callback to the series premiere, but it was definitely a heroic shot of Gendry with the score swelling behind him.

Of the characters whose parents hailed from noble houses who arrived on horseback, Gendry is the only one of the three not the direct product of many generations of incest, so he has that going for him! Actually, in a fun bit of trivia, George R.R. Martin's book saga reveals that the Baratheons and the Targaryens are actually related, which is why Robert had the strongest claim to the throne between him, Jon Arryn, and Ned Stark after the end of Robert's Rebellion.

Robert's grandmother was a Targaryen. If Dany finds out that Gendry is the son of "the Usurper" and decides to kill him, that would technically be kin-slaying. I would love to have a scene of Dany first finding out that Jon is her nephew and then that the man she spent her life condemning as "the Usurper" was actually her second cousin. A family affair!

Gendry Looked Familiar?

In one scene from the Season 8 premiere, Tyrion is seen looking down over the courtyard of Winterfell, where Gendry is helping unload the wagons of dragonglass. Tyrion is no fool, and he at least met Robert Baratheon back before the king drank and ate himself into the condition he was in when he first appeared in Season 1. Perhaps Gendry looks like Robert did once upon a time.

Is that kind of a big "perhaps" at this point? Maybe. It's worth noting that, in the books, Gendry is stated on more than one occasion to look a great deal like both Robert and Renly, and Ned in the show recognized Gendry as Robert's bastard after getting a close look at his face. Did something about Gendry look familiar to Tyrion?

If Gendry does resemble a younger Robert, then Jaime would probably have a good shot at recognizing him. Despite his status as "Kingslayer," he was named to Robert's Kingsguard early on, so he would definitely remember what young Robert looked like. Admittedly, a lot of time has passed and a lot has happened since Jaime last saw Robert young, svelte, and sober, but it could happen. Jaime arrived at Winterfell at the end of the premiere.

And then there's the Varys factor. The show never explicitly stated that Varys is responsible for getting Gendry out of King's Landing before the purge of Robert's bastards, but he's the one who did it in the books. If he meets a young man of the right age named "Gendry" who looks enough like Robert that Ned recognized him, then Varys could connect the dots. The Lommy ploy might not hold up.

Gendry And Arya

Fans who noticed the similarity between the Season 8 premiere score for the arrival in Winterfell and "The King's Arrival" from the series premiere may have also remembered a conversation from Season 1 regarding Robert Baratheon's son and Ned Stark's daughter. Back when Robert asked Ned to be Hand of the King, he suggested that he marry his son to Ned's daughter to join their houses.

At the time, Robert meant Joffrey and Sansa, but Joffrey was never his true-born son, and Sansa has probably had enough of arranged marriages in her lifetime. Then Season 8 premiere presented a different option: Robert's bastard son Gendry and Ned's youngest daughter Arya.

Arya is all grown up now, and the sparks flying during her Season 8 premiere scene with Gendry weren't all from the fires in the forge. Other than Jon, Gendry was arguably the first person to make Arya smile a non-murdery smile about something light and inconsequential, and I think it's safe to say that Arya wasn't looking at Gendry the same way she looks at Jon. Besides, I don't seem to recall Arya twirling her way out of a scene with Jon.

Of course, the lightness of the scene could be to build up Arya's (and fans') hopes that not everything will be terrible, only to kill Gendry off in the big battle, but it could also mean Robert's words from Season 1 will finally come true and Houses Stark and Baratheon join. I'm crossing my fingers that Game of Thrones didn't give Arya a reason to smile for the sole purpose of taking it away. Whatever happens, at least she'll get an awesome new weapon.

Stags In The New Opening Credits

Game of Thrones got a new opening credits sequence for Season 8. For the first time, it omits Essos altogether and features The Wall broken, ice spreading south, an in-depth look at Winterfell (likely foreshadowing the upcoming battle there), and changes to the etchings on the gyroscope. The credits indicated that the game of thrones no longer really matters, and the squabbling between the great houses needs to stop in the face of the White Walker threat.

And yet, the final shot of the wheel in the credits still shows the sigil animals of the four great houses: the dragon of House Targaryen, the Lion of House Lannister, the direwolf of House Stark, and the stag of House Baratheon. Given all the other changes to the credits, doesn't it stand to reason that the stag could be removed if House Baratheon is entirely out of play?

Then there's the point that Joe Dempsie's name in the credits continues to be marked by the stag of House Baratheon, so fans aren't exactly expected to forget whose son Gendry is, even if his status as Robert's bastard hasn't been mentioned in a while.

After well over a year of hiatus that left fans dying for news of what would happen after the crazy Season 7 cliffhangers, Game of Thrones finally returned for its eighth and final season on April 14. The odds were always good that Thrones would kill in viewership in Season 8, but there was no saying if the show would make history right out of the gate. Well, HBO has big reasons to be happy about the Season 8 premiere despite the episode's early leak.

In Live+Same day calculations courtesy of HBO, the Season 8 premiere was watched by a whopping 17.4 million people across all HBO platforms, which include linear, HBO GO, and HBO Now. That makes the first episode of Season 8 the highest-rated episode in the entire series, not just premieres. The 17.4 million beats the previous series high that came in the Season 7 finale, which hit 16.9 million viewers. The Season 8 premiere may not have been great for all the characters, but it was a hit for the show and HBO!

To break that 17.4 million down into categories, 11.8 million came from linear viewers, which could have been impacted by HBO's ongoing dispute with Dish. Whatever the reason, the linear viewership of 11.8 million beats the linear viewership for the Season 7 premiere, which hit only 10.1 million. It does fall behind the Season 7 finale, though, with 12.1 million.

HBO GO and HBO Now were clearly a big help with Game of Thrones making viewership history with the premiere. The night was the largest night of streaming ever for HBO, with a jump of 50% of viewing on HBO Now over the Season 7 finale.

Of course, the 17.4 million calculation is likely to change in the coming days when post-live viewership can be tallied. The seventh season averaged 32.8 million viewers per episode thanks to post-live bumps. I would be very surprised if the Season 8 premiere doesn't experience a huge bump to set the stage for a record-breaking average.

Now, it was always likely that Game of Thrones would easily dominate the competition and perhaps set records that will not be beaten any time soon by an ongoing drama, but it was possible that the numbers could be impacted by the leak of the Season 8 premiere ahead of time.

The good news is that the leak was close to the official air time and somewhat more contained than leaks in years past. The episode released only to DirecTV Now users, who received notifications around 5 p.m. ET on the premiere date that the first episode was available. That places the leak at only four hours ahead of the premiere, and spoilers were pretty avoidable for fans as long as they weren't all over social media in the final hours before the episode.

The leak was addressed by DirecTV owner AT&T (via THR):

It's impossible to say if the early leak impacted the official HBO viewership; it is safe to say, however, that the leak didn't damage the premiere's ability to make series history. As much as a lot of people probably weren't very happy with DirecTV Now for the leak, the premiere was still a success in the viewership.

This isn't the first time Game of Thrones has had to deal with leaks. The first four episodes of Season 5 hit the web early, and Season 7 saw some episodes leak ahead of time as well. None of the leaked episodes were a finale, so at least the biggest twists of the season weren't spoiled ahead of time, although I could have used some time to prepare myself for that incestuous union at the end of Season 7.

One Thrones veteran actually accused HBO of deliberately leaking the episodes; I very much doubt that's the case for Season 8. The much-hyped eighth season would attract huge crowds even if it held off on releasing any new footage beyond the initial trailer. If anything, perhaps the leak of the first episode will result in HBO taking even more measures to prevent the episodes from hitting the web early.

We'll have to wait and see. Spoilers ahead for the Season 8 premiere of Game of Thrones. The Season 8 premiere was a doozy, even though it wasn't packed with as much action as fans may have expected after the epic way Season 7 ended. The White Walkers did do some damage to the unlucky living in their path, as the young Lord Umber discovered to his doom, but it went down off-screen, and all viewers saw was the super creepy aftermath.

Still, the episode delivered some long-awaited reunions, especially for Arya. She finally got to see her beloved brother/cousin (although she doesn't know about the cousin part yet) Jon Snow for the first time since they went their separate ways way back in the beginning of Season 1, and she got to see Gendry again as well.

Some sparks flew when Gendry and Arya finally met again after being split up back in Season 3, and not just because Gendry was hard at work in the forge making weapons. Could one of the wild theories about the series' end actually come true? They are both all grown up now. Or maybe Arya was just smiling and happy at the prospect of getting her new weapon from her long-lost blacksmith pal.

Arya even got to see the Hound again, which was honestly only slightly colder than Jon's reunion with Bran. All things considered, I may never not be amused by everybody's reactions when they realize that Bran Stark is now the bizarro Three-Eyed Raven. Bran as the Three-Eyed Raven may be a good thing for Jaime, who arrived at Winterfell at the end of the episode.

The Three-Eyed Raven may be a bit more understanding of the guy who flung Bran out of a window for catching him hooking up with his own twin sister. Oh, Season 1. He could even explain why Jaime deserves a second chance, if Brienne can't convince others on his behalf. If Winterfell is doomed and a whole bunch of characters are going to die, I'm glad to get my laughs where I can.

New episodes of Game of Thrones air Sundays at 9 p.m. ET on HBO. The episodes will run for different lengths, and the first long episode raised an intriguing and kind of awesome possibility. Be sure to tune in to see what happens in what remains of Game of Thrones.

Well, folks, the beginning of the end is finally upon us. Game of Thrones started Season 8, the final season, last night, and there were several big moments. Possibly the biggest of those momentous occasions, though, was the scene that saw Jon Snow finally find out that he's actually heir to the Iron Throne, Aegon Targaryen, a.k.a. his current girlfriend's nephew. While it may be a couple of episodes yet before we see Jon have a real freakout, not to mention see what happens when Dany finds out, this particular moment was one that fans have been waiting for (unofficially) for years, especially once the theory about Jon's true parents was revealed on the show, which was roughly two years ago now.

I figure there are two main reasons why we didn't get a major bout of crying, screaming and /or hair pulling when Jon was told that he's actually the son of Lyanna Stark and Rhaegar Targaryen. First off, Jon (and everyone else, for that matter) has spent his whole life thinking he was the bastard son of Ned Stark, so it would, naturally, take some time to really ingest the fact that that was a lie and that the truth was far stranger than he'd thought. Secondly, well, it's all about Jon's good friend Samwell Tarly, isn't it? After Sam's little powwow with Bran "I'm not his brother" Stark, he headed right into the Winterfell crypt and spilled the beans to Jon. Sam was calm, he was clear and he gave Jon all the necessary information about his true heritage.

And, regardless about how fans may have thought the long awaited moment went down, John Bradley, who plays Sam, believes that having his character deliver the parental bombshell was the best option. Here's what he had to say:

In general, most fans would probably agree that John Bradley's words about Sam are true. Ever since the two met early in their tenures at the Night's Watch, they've been friends who have been unfailingly on each other's sides and done the best to help each other through the many wild trials and tribulations that have come their way. And, Sam does still have Jon's best interest at heart...but, there is that whole thing about Dany offing Sam's people.

Right before that powwow with Bran that I mentioned earlier, Sam had his face buried in a bunch of books when Dany and Ser Jorah came in to thank him for saving Jorah's life. This conversation started off quite lovely, but turned sour when Dany had to reveal to Sam that his brother (by all accounts a good guy) and his father (not such a good guy) had both declined to bend the knee and accept her as queen, so she put them to death. Sam was unhappy to hear about his dad, probably because he was still holding out hope that he could mend fences with the stubborn old bastard at some point, but he was handling it. Then, of course, she had to tell him about his brother, which was not happy news for Sam at all.

So, armed with this unfortunate information, Sam went to Jon and told him the truth, rubbing in the fact that Jon willingly gave up his title of King Of The North because he thought joining forces with Dany and pledging himself and the North to her would be the only way to save them from The Night King and his army of undead, asking Jon if he thought Dany would be willing to do the same thing once she finds out he has a closer tie to the throne than her.

And, Sam also mentioned that Dany killed his brother and father, instead of showing a little leniency, which Jon has been willing to do many times when people wouldn't accept his leadership, probably in another effort to prove that Jon would be a better king than Dany would be as queen so that he decides to try to take the Iron Throne for himself. Even though, you know, Jon has repeatedly shunned leadership at every turn, only to have it thrust upon him again and again. So, we know that Sam was more than a little pissed at Dany by the time he spoke to Jon, but that doesn't take away the fact that he and Bran had already agreed that Jon needed to know who he really is.

Added to all this is the horrible, terrible, icky, no good fact that Jon and Dany seem to have fallen into actual love with each other, and have, well, had some unfortunately hot sexytimes for an aunt and her nephew. We haven't seen Jon have a meltdown about that fact just yet, but there's no way it wasn't on his mind when Sam told him he's really a Targaryen. And, this is another reason why Bradley thinks it was best to have Sam break the news to him. As he told Entertainment Tonight:

Yeah, if you had to have someone tell you that you've actually been doing your aunt, wouldn't you want a really good friend to update you on that situation? You know, so you could take some time to vomit and cry without public humiliation and all the staring, and then quietly go break up with your father's little sister once you've composed yourself? Sounds like a solid plan to me.

We'll see how all this Targaryen business, as well as all the other messed up things on Game of Thrones, will shake out as the final season continues every Sunday on HBO at 9 p.m. EST.

Game of Thrones fans long suspected Jon Snow was not Ned Stark's biological son. We got confirmation last season. Now, finally, Jon knows the truth too.

And he really wishes he didn't.

So sayeth Kit Harington to EW after the Game of Thrones Season 8 premiere, "Winterfell," gave Jon Snow the truth.

Samwell Tarly (John Bradley) wanted Bran Stark (Isaac Hempstead Wright) to join him in telling Jon his true lineage, but Bran was too busy waiting for his "old friend" Jaime Lannister (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) to turn up. Besides, awkward deadpan Bran is the last person who should deliver difficult news.

So Sam went to the Winterfell crypts and told Jon the truth: He's really the son of Lyanna Stark and Rhaegar Targaryen. Ned Stark (Sean Bean) lied to protect him, per his dying sister's wishes. King Robert Baratheon (Mark Addy) probably would've killed Jon if he knew Jon was really Aegon Targaryen, heir to the Iron Throne.

Some people might be thrilled to learn they aren't actually "bastards" but instead royalty. But not Jon. He didn't take it well. Maybe he would've taken it differently if he weren't in love with Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke), whom he now knows to be his biological aunt. Even without that, though, Jon would likely hate this news.

Jon Snow has never wanted any of the titles thrown at him. Sam rigged the system to get Jon voted Lord Commander of the Night's Watch, which Jon never wanted. Jon didn't exactly run for King in the North, it was thrust upon him. He just wanted to be a ranger like his Uncle Benjen (fat lot of good that ever did Uncle Benjen).

So now he has another title thrown at him, and he doesn't want it. As Kit Harington noted:

We could see Jon literally stagger back as the implications of what Sam said washed over him. The last words Ned Stark and Jon Snow ever shared were about Jon's mother. Jon had asked if she was still alive, if she knew who he was, if she cared about him. Ned said they next time they saw each other, he would tell Jon about his mother.

That was in Season 1. They never saw each other again.

John Bradley told EW Jon would've taken the news even worse coming from someone other than his trusted BFF/head cheerleader, Sam. But still...

Sam ran to Jon to tell him his true lineage after Dany told Sam the truth about what happened to his father and brother. Her dragons set them on fire because they rebelled and wouldn't bend the knee. So that's part of Sam's current argument against Dany -- that Jon gave up his crown for the good of his people, but would Dany?

My counter-argument would be to stop giving crowns to someone who keeps walking away from them. Jon Snow was stabbed to death by his own brothers of the Night's Watch. When he was revived, he left the Night's Watch. After he was made King in the North, he walked away and let Dany be queen. Take the hint, guys. He doesn't want to rule. Also, he would've been dead twice over at the Battle of the Bastards had Sansa Stark (Sophie Turner) not sent that message to Littlefinger (Aidan Gillen). He led his men into a suicide mission and he was saved by outside forces. But he keeps being put in charge of things, bless him.

Frankly, what Dany admitted to doing to House Tarly is not that different from any other ruler. Ned Stark took Theon Greyjoy (Alfie Allen) as a hostage after the Greyjoy rebellion against King Robert. If Balon Greyjoy hadn't bent the knee, Balon would've been killed, and probably Theon too. But for some reason people are hell bent on demonizing Dany for doing the same things everyone else does.

Anyway, Jon Snow now knows he's been shtupping his aunt. Kit Harington previously teased that finding out that truth "would be very hard for him."

We still have to see what he does with that information. Jon is not someone who lies, so it's hard to imagine he would keep this truth from Dany, no matter how much it would shock and hurt her. How will SHE react is the new question. Dany had a rough welcome to the North in the Game of Thrones premiere, and this new intel would hardly make them more likely to embrace her as queen.

However, as Jon keeps trying to point out, there's a bigger problem right now. The Night King and his White Walkers are headed toward Winterfell and they don't really care who is king or queen of the Seven Kingdoms. Gendry (Joe Dempsie) and Arya (Maisie Williams) are on the right track with their dragonglass weapon work. The battle of Winterfell is comin' and it's going to be rough. Let's see who makes it out alive and then worry about bending the bloody knee.

Game of Thrones Season 8 is the final season, and it has six episodes. The story continues Sundays at 9 p.m. on HBO, but only for five more weeks. This time of year, a lot of TV shows are winding down toward their season finale dates, as the summer 2019 shows prepare to entertain us when this long winter is finally over.

HODOR! Spoilers ahead from the April 14 Game of Thrones Season 8 premiere, which was titled "Winterfell."

Is A Girl adding The Night King to her list? Game of Thrones Season 8, the final season, finally premiered last night and "Winterfell" included several reunions ranging from awkward (anything involving Bran) to amazing (anything involving Arya).

The long-awaited reunion between Arya Stark and Jon Snow may have even been topped by the -- gasp -- flirtatious reunion between Arya and Gendry. Thrones used their reunion as perhaps a new version of their old "sexposition" -- using a sex scene as a way to provide information.

In this case, it was more like flirtposition, since Arya's chemistry-fueled reunion with Gendry also included a very important plot note. Skilled blacksmith Gendry has been busy doing the really vital work in The Great War -- shaping the mined dragonglass from Dragonstone into weapons to use against The White Walkers moving south.

Arya (Maisie Williams) came to Gendry (Joe Dempsie) with the request that he make her a very specific weapon with a dragonglass tip, handing him specs she apparently drew out herself at some point. Here's the scene in question:

We know Arya Stark only came north to Winterfell after she heard that Jon was named King in the North. Until then, she had been riding south to kill Queen Cersei Lannister. We don't know how that storyline will play out now, but her little note of "dragonglass" on the parchment showed that this is about the White Walkers, not Cersei. This is to kill the dead.

Specifically The Night King?

Someone has to take down ol' blue eyes. It may be Jon Snow, since they have unfinished Come At Me Crow business after Hardhome. But maybe that's too obvious? Who is our best assassin? It isn't Jon. Jon has killed, as he's admitted, but if you put his track record next to Arya's, she's the best at the job. Bran Stark also seems to have unfinished business with The Night King, since they do seem to have a connection. Daenerys Targaryen is also up to this job, since she has the power of two fire-breathing dragons; The Night King is currently riding her undead baby Viserion, so The Mother of Dragons has a right to punish him for killing and stealing her child.

Arya Stark is an expert with Needle and with daggers. She can also kill through poison or whatever else she likes. In the case of The Night King, though, the parameters are clear: Fire, Valyrian steel, dragonglass. She can't just say "Winter has come for House White Walkers" like she did for House Frey. So she's being smart, as usual, about getting herself prepared for the major battle ahead.

Since Game of Thrones took pains to show us that scene, we should consider it akin to Chekhov's gun -- they're showing this weapon in the first act, so we should expect it to fire by the final act. Gendry is going to make that weapon and Arya is going to use it. She may just use it on every White Walker she finds, but it feels like a more substantial place-setting for a larger story to come.

We know the great battle of Winterfell is coming, the biggest battle Game of Thrones has ever staged. This new weapon from Gendry is surely going to play a role, but it feels like that battle -- supposedly in Episode 3 -- would be too soon to take out The Night King. Right? There are six episodes to the final season. The Night King isn't the only foe, since we still have Cersei and Euron and their lack of elephants to deal with. But The White Walkers are the true threat, as everyone keeps noting. The dead army has moved south beyond The Wall and they are ready to take out Winterfell.

Warning! The following contains spoilers for Game of Thrones' Season 8 premiere. Read at your own risk.

Game of Thrones Season 8 is finally here, and true to the HBO series' nature, death was a factor. The bloodshed in the first of the final episodes was minimal, although it's safe to say there will probably be much more where that came from here on out. Sure, no one major died, but there were a few casualties worth mentioning, so let's run through the departures of the episode from greatest to least.

Lord Umber

The young Lord Umber's death might go down as one of the show's more disturbing exits to date. The young boy was nailed to a wall surrounded by a bunch of severed arms, and was set aflame by Beric's sword when Umber attempted to kill Tormund. It was gruesome, but ultimately okay because he was turned into a wight.

While it wasn't the most important death in the grand scheme of the Game of Thrones saga, one has to wonder its meaning. Why did the Night King find it necessary to send that message to the group left behind at The Wall? What was the meaning behind that symbol? We're not sure, but if the Night King did in fact leave that message, we can't imagine that special attention from him is going to go well for that group.

Euron's Ship Guards

The men guarding Euron didn't get any speaking roles, but they did receive the high honor of being the first casualties of Season 8. Unfortunately, their deaths were somewhat soiled as it happened via the cowardly Theon Greyjoy, which is like dying of the flu in Game of Thrones. Seriously, who expected him to be the one to man up and rescue his sister?

So how will these deaths affect Cersei's latest suitor Euron? We can only speculate, but now he won't have a place to run should his romance with the Lannister queen go south. Yara is pretty adamant she gain regain control of the Iron Islands, which will help the North should Winterfell fall to the Night King. Was that foreshadowing by the show, or just a random line of dialogue we should disregard?

Livestock

It sounds like a joke, but the livestock deaths in Game of Thrones' Season 8 premiere could honestly be the most impactful of the episode. As Sansa mentioned, she's only prepared enough rations for the North to survive winter, and with the dragons eating a healthy litter of livestock in one meal, it's safe to say that food is going to go pretty quick.

Which, in a word, is bad. The North already isn't too keen on Dany, and they and Sansa are only going to be more unhappy once they realize they need to go hungry so that the Unsullied and dragons can stay well-fed ahead of the big battle. Hunger can be a big motivator in enacting change, so don't be surprised if Jon has to keep the North from trying to usurp the Targaryen queen before the Night King ever arrives.

In truth, the Season 8 premiere wasn't the most action-packed episode of Game of Thrones ever, but there was plenty of drama to chew on and lots of doubt cast on Jon and Daenerys' collaboration. We've all seen how she reacts when folks doubt her leadership, and that's surely going to create some interesting and perhaps unexpected deaths in the coming episodes. Will Jon stand aside for the good of the realm, or will he step up to the queen?

Basically, fans upset about the lack of meaningful bloodshed should not panic. Think of this as the episode to ease fans back into things, and lull them into the false security that all the people we saw in Game of Thrones' premiere may not be dead in a couple weeks. Hell, Jon might just die down in the crypts from the shock of learning he's the true heir at the start of episode 2!

When you’ve spent time pod racing, it comes as no surprise that getting behind the wheel of a car can get pretty boring. That being said, is there any way to make mundane driving a bit more fun? Well Jake Lloyd, the actor who played young Anakin Skywalker in Star Wars: The Phantom Menace has certainly found a way. How so? Oh, just by inciting a crazy car chase with the police.

According to TMZ the actor was driving in Charleston, South Carolina when then things got out of control. At first the Sheriff’s deputies began pursuing the actor, but Lloyd was not about to make their jobs easy. He continued to drive, and the chase was underway. This went on for miles, all the way into another county while Lloyd passed cars on the double yellow line and drove recklessly at high speeds. Eventually young Anakin lost control, and the car ran off the road, through a fence and into a wooded area where it struck a few trees. Lloyd was then arrested for reckless driving, failure to stop, resisting arrest and driving without a license. The child star is still in custody.

Lloyd has certainly not looked back after portraying Anakin Skywalker in the first Star Wars prequel. Back in 2012 the now 26-year-old actor opened up in a telling interview with The Daily Mail about why he quit acting. He claimed that starring in the Star Wars franchise at a mere 8 years old turned his life into a ‘living hell’. He was so haunted by the movie that he vowed to never act again. Apparently he had so much anger towards George Lucas and the franchise that he destroyed all of his Star Wars memorabilia. But despite all the hatred he had for his role, it sounds like his need for speed has carried on.

Though Lloyd stuck to his word, and did not carry on with acting, the internet promptly reacted to this fitting arrest, with an abundance of pod-racing jokes. For the most part everyone agrees, we hope he was screaming “Now this is podracing” as he sped through traffic.

Futurama's seventh season has been sensational so far. After an excellent back to back premiere that saw the animated series pull off its signature mix of silly and sentimental twice in one night, the show went for full on political satire with "Decision 3012." Really smart with a neat science-fiction inspired time travel twist, last week's episode brilliantly skewered the Republican mis-labelling of Obama and the entire 'birther' movement.

Let's hope the strong start to the new season continues with Wednesday night's "The Thief of Baghead" but, judging by this clip released by Comedy Central, I'm sure we have nothing to worry about. Take a look at the preview called 'Just Take The Damn Picture'...

It's pretty obvious why the clip was called "Just Take the Damn Picture," and not just because it's a line literally uttered by Leela. Bender seems to have taken quite a liking to photography which opens the recent obsession with instagram (not to mention the constant film vs. digital conversation) up for ridicule. The clip also shows that Calculon, the robot soap opera star, will be making an appearance in "The Thief of Baghead" and apparently he gets caught up in an acting competition that puts the loser to death. As Calculon might say, "noooooooooo!!!!!"

Futurama returns with “The Thief of Baghead,” Wednesday at 10 p.m. ET on Comedy Central. It stars Billy West, Katey Sagal and John DiMaggio. It was created by Matt Groening and David X. Cohen.

Matt Groening's Futurama is back in less than a week. The seventh season of the Emmy winning animated program, same as the sixth, will be split into separate 13-episode runs with '7A' beginning on Wednesday night and then '7B' airing sometime in (early) 2013. Comedy Central started advertising for the first run not too long ago and adopted the popular Futurama 'Not Sure If' meme as the primary marketing strategy. There are now a bunch more of those promos on the Comedy Central YouTube page but the network has also released preview clips for the two-part premiere.

Season 7 opens with back-to-back episodes called "The Bots and the Bees" and "A Farewell to Arms" and in the first, Bender and Bev (the office soda machine) have unprotected robot sex which results in a bastard son. Somebody's been watching too much Game of Thrones. Bender's new boy, appropriately named Ben, is a chip off the old block except when it comes to following in his dad's profession. They may be able to rob several different places together (people, liquor stores, banks) but they will never bend as father and son. That's what you get when your mom is a vending machine. Here's the clip called 'Bender's Bastard.'

Following "TBatB" is Futurama's spoof of the Mayan 2012 doomsday prophecy called “A Farewell to Arms.” Of course, with the show being set in the future, this time the ancient prophecy predicts that the end of the world will occur in 3012. In the clip, 'The World Is Ending Again,' we see the beginning of the extinction event which has taken the form of a catastrophic sun-spot cycle! And don't count on Coward Man to save the day.
