I watched A Star Is Born recently to continue my celebration of all that was cinema in 1976. This was my first time watching the movie, which is one of the many iconic movies on the Criterion Channel. I saw the 1954 version of the story many years ago and didn’t like it, and I love the 2018 version. This version, starring Barbra Streisand and Kris Kristofferson, falls between those two. One thing that really stood out to me is Gary Busey's performance. At one time, he was a great actor.

Busey Is Actually Magnetic

The late ‘70s were, for all intents and purposes, the high-water mark of Gary Busey’s career, at least critically. Sure, I loved him in the late ‘80s and early ‘90s with his string of hits like Lethal Weapon, Point Break, Under Siege and The Firm. That was his box office peak, znc all those movies were huge hits. In the ‘70s, not only did he turn in a great performance as John Norman Howard’s (Kristofferson) manager Bobbie, but his follow-up, 1978’s Straight Time, is a great movie. Then there was his Oscar-nominated turn as Buddy Holly in The Buddy Holly Story, one of the best music biopics ever.

Ultimately, I would say Busey is my favorite part of this version of A Star is Born. That’s probably weird to think, but every time he was on screen, I was more engaged. He was pretty magnetic back then. It’s such a stark contrast to the Busey if modern pop culture, screaming like a bird or whatever on TikTok, and the drug-addled Busey who found new “fans” with his wild behavior on the exploitative Celebrity Rehab. I couldn’t help but think about the road not taken by Busey, going from a really promising character actor, to… I don’t know, whatever he’s become today, and it’s just too bad.

A Star Is Born Is Good, But It Misses In One Big Way

There are things that the 1976 A Star is Born does really well. I loved the music scenes, with John in concert or in the studio. It’s like Almost Famous, but in its actual time. In that respect, I actually like it more than the 2018 version. However, the love story and relationship between John and Esther (Streisand) really falls flat for me. It’s clunky, and I didn’t sense any chemistry between the two actors. That’s a stark contrast between Lady Gaga and Cooper in the most recent take.

As much of a fan as I am of the late Kristofferson, and as much as I respect Streisand, I was really pretty disappointed by their performances in this movie. I don’t think either of them hit it out of the park in any way. That’s ultimately why I was so drawn to Busey when he’s on screen. He really is the standout role in the film. He plays a supporting role, but he’s just more believable and likable than the two leads.

As a Gen Xer, my introduction to Busey was during that run in the ‘80s and ‘90s, and while none are the best movies of the ‘90s, they are some of the most memorable of the era. I’m glad I finally saw another piece of that creative peak in the ‘70s in A Star is Born.

One of the greatest honors a public figure can achieve is to either host Saturday Night Live or appear as a musical guest but how many people can say that they accomplished both in one night? Quite a few, actually. See for yourself by taking a look at some great SNL hosts who also put on memorable musical performances at Studio 8H in the same episode (or episodes).

Timothée Chalamet

After receiving a 2025 Academy Award nomination for his portrayal of Bob Dylan in A Complete Unknown, Timothée Chalamet paid tribute to the folk singer in an amusing way. The actor appeared on SNL's 50th season for his third time as host but his first time as a musical guest, performing covers of Dylan's “Outlaw Blues," “Three Angels,” and "Tomorrow Is a Long Time.”

Lady Gaga

In 2013, years before proving she was a phenomenal actor with a Golden Globe-winning performance on American Horror Story and an Oscar-nominated performance in A Star is Born, Lady Gaga pulled double duty at Studio 8H. In addition to her earnest performances of "Do What U Want" and "Gypsy," the pop star (née Stefani Germanotta) appeared in some of the best SNL sketches featuring a famous musician, which were made classic by her willingness to poke fun at herself.

Mick Jagger

After previously hosting and performing alongside his bandmates in The Rolling Stones in 1972, Mick Jagger would return to SNL to headline the 37th season finale on his own. For his performances of classic tracks like "The Last Time" and "It's Only Rock 'n Roll (But I Like It)," the legendary frontman was accompanied by Arcade Fire, Foo Fighters, and Jeff Beck.

Donald Glover

Donald Glover (a.k.a. Childish Gambino) opened his Season 43 SNL episode by singing about his ability to do "anything" in jest but was still able to back up that claim quite sufficiently with his hilarious acting and memorable musical performances. In fact, the episode famously marked the debut of the Atlanta star's hit single, "This is America."

Stevie Wonder

The most memorable highlight from Stevie Wonder's Season 8 SNL episode is when he appeared in a sketch alongside Eddie Murphy (who had portrayed the musician a few times before) as an aspiring Stevie Wonder impersonator seeking his help to perfect his impression. The Grammy-winning singer-songwriter also performed "Overjoyed" that night "Go Home."

Ariana Grande

For her second appearance on SNL in Season 41, Ariana Grande pulled double duty in more than one way. In addition to performing "Dangerous Woman" and "Be Alright" between sketches, one bit saw her demonstrate her impeccable ability for musical impersonations as a Tidal intern who must help when the music streaming platform loses power.

Elton John

Elton John first appeared on SNL as a musical guest on an episode hosted by fellow musician Johnny Cash in 1982 before returning 29 years later to both host and perform songs with Leon Russell from their album, The Union. In addition to the Grammy-winning headliner, it was a pretty star-studded night at Studio 8H, with cameos by Carmelo Anthony, Will Forte, Tom Hanks and Jake Gyllenhaal.

Miley Cyrus

Twice, Miley Cyrus got to be the best of both worlds on SNL. In Season 39, she poked fun at her VMAs performance with Robin Thicke and sang "Wrecking Ball" and "We Can't Stop" and, two years later, was joined by The Flaming Lips" to perform "Karen Don't Be Sad" after an introduction by special guest Hillary Clinton.

Justin Timberlake

Qualified to join SNL's Five-Timers Club both for his hosting and musical performances is Justin Timberlake, who debuted on the show with N*SYNC before pulling double duty for the first of multiple times on October 11, 2003. The pop star and actor has contributed to some of the show's most iconic musical sketches, including three awesome SNL Digital Shorts alongside Andy Samberg as a crass R&B duo.

Taylor Swift

Taylor Swift has appeared at Studio 8H multiple times, acquiring a number of musical guest gigs and a few jaw-dropping SNL cameos under her belt, since becoming one of the most famous people in the world. In Season 35, she showed up for the second time as a musical guest (singing "You Belong With Me" and "Untouchable") and the first time as a host, appearing in a funny fake trailer for a Twilight rip-off called Firelight, among other sketches.

Paul Simon

No one has appeared on SNL as both the host and musical guest more times than Paul Simon, who also became the first to pull double duty on the show's second episode ever before coming back to do it three more times. The singer-songwriter was also the first person to join the Five-Timers Club by musical performances alone.

Chance The Rapper

In addition to being one of the most innovative hip-hop artists of his time, Chance the Rapper proved that he can act and has some impeccable comedic timing the multiple times he has hosted SNL. The second time, in Season 45, he also served as the musical guest and was joined by Megan Thee Stallion for a performance of "Handsome."

Kris Kristofferson

In July 1976, months before leading A Star is Born with Barbra Streisand, singer and actor Kris Kristofferson both sang and acted as an SNL headliner. He was joined by his then-wife Rita Coolidge for "Eddie the Eunuch" and later performed "I've Got a Life of My Own" on his own.

Debbie Harry

The frontwoman for Blondie performed solo on the Valentine's Day episode of SNL's sixth season, which she also hosted. Between sketches, Debbie Harry sang "Love TKO" and "Come Back Jonee" before introducing additional musical guest Funky 4 + 1's "That's The Joint," which became the first rap song performed on television that night.

Garth Brooks

Garth Brooks first served as both host and musical guest on SNL in the show's 23rd season, during which he appeared in sketch where he falls for Chris Kattan's Mango. The country music singer returned to pull double duty a year later but performed his musical numbers as his rock star alter ego, Chris Gaines.

Dolly Parton

For her sole SNL appearance, Dolly Parton hosted and sang in Season 14. The country music legend appeared in multiple comedic bits poking fun at her chest size and performed a couple of tracks from her 1989 album, White Limozeen.

Willie Nelson

February 21, 1987, marked Willie Nelson's second SNL appearance as a musical guest and sole hosting appearance. The influential "outlaw country" legend, who had done some acting before and has acted plenty of times since, was a great fit for the gig and even performed a song with then-cast member Victoria Jackson.

Drake

Before he became one of the most successful rap artists of his time, Drake (née Aubrey Graham) was an actor, best known for his starring role on the Canadian coming-of-age drama, Degrassi: The Next Generation. He reminded audiences that his acting talents have not waned when, after performing as a musical guest in 2011, he returned to SNL to serve double duty in 2014 and again two years later.

Billie Eilish

Billie Eilish became the first person born in the 21st Century to host SNL when she appeared in the Season 47 Christmas episode, which was met with much acclaim despite her not being able to stop laughing in a few sketches. The Grammy and Oscar winner's parents introduced her and her brother Finneas' performance of "Happier Than Ever" before they later returned to perform "Male Fantasy."

Halsey

Before lending her voice to Sing 2 and appearing in the A24 horror movie MaXXXine, Halsey was considered a non-actor who nailed her SNL hosting gig from Season 44. The self-professed fan of the show was a hilarious standout in sketches and also wowed audiences with her musical performances, such as when she painted a full portrait while singing "Eastside."

Ray Charles

Before making a cameo in, arguably, the best movie based on an SNL character, 1980's The Blues Brothers, Ray Charles headlined the fifth episode of the show's third season. The influential musical genius was surprisingly good and sketches and unsurprisingly shined with his performances of "I Can See Clearly Now," "What I'd Say," "Oh, What a Beautiful Morning," and "I Can't Stop Loving You."

Olivia Newton-John

Having gained international fame from playing Sandy in Grease, there was no question that Olivia Newton-John would be a great fit on SNL as both a host and musical guest. The Australian singer and actor actually appeared in a parody of the 1978 musical movie classic when she took the stage for the Season 7 finale, during which she also performed songs from her hit album, Physical.

Frank Zappa

Frank Zappa's hosting duties in SNL's third season were largely seen as a disaster, due to his tendency to go off-script, which is said to be why he never appeared on the show again. However, his performances of "Dancin' Fool," "The Meek Shall Inherit Nothing," and "Rollo" with the Mothers of Invention should still be recognized as highlights of that night.

Quincy Jones

In SNL's 15th season, influential music producer Quincy Jones made his sole appearance on the show as a host and musical guest. However, notably, he was not the only musical guest to appear that night, seen performing "Back On The Block," "The Verb To Be," and "Wee B. Dooinit" with the likes of Take 6, Tevin Campbell, Andrae Crouch, Sandra Crouch, Kool Moe Dee, Big Daddy Kane, Melle Mel, Quincy D III, Siedah Garrett, and Al Jarreau.

Sting

Sting is qualified for the Five-Timers Club with his number of SNL appearances as the musical guest – one of which, in Season 16, also saw him headline as the host. The one-time Police frontman would later return to host the show again in 1997 but with musical guest Veruca Salt.

Harry Styles

In November 2019, Harry Styles made his debut as an SNL host on a night that also saw his induction into the Five-Timers Club as a musical guest. The English singer and actor had previously appeared three times with the boy band One Direction and once as a solo artist in 2017.

Gary Busey

Following his Oscar-nominated performance as the late, eponymous rock 'n roll pioneer in 1978's The Buddy Holly Story, Gary Busey made his sole appearance on SNL as a host. The actor also performed the song "Stay All Night" as one of three musical guests for that episode, the other two being Gregory Hines and Eubie Blake.

Bruno Mars

As he mentioned in his opening monologue, Bruno Mars had no prior acting experience (unless you count his cinematic debut as "Little Elvis" in Honeymoon in Vegas) before appearing as a host in Season 38 of SNL. Nevertheless, he proved to be a fantastic comedic actor in an episode that was also graced with a cameo by Tom Hanks, who showed up to introduce the pop star's performance of "Locked Out of Heaven."

Desi Arnaz

Desi Arnaz used to perform music and comedy on an almost regular basis when starring in the classic TV sitcom, I Love Lucy, as Ricky Ricardo. Therefore, appearing on SNL as both the host and musical guest (alongside his son, Desi Arnaz Jr.) should have been a breeze for the Cuban-born performer.

Lizzo

Lizzo's second appearance on SNL as a musical guest (for which she performed "About Damn Time" and "Special") was also her first time hosting the series. In her Season 47 episode, she proved to be a natural – especially in one sketch as a flutist who cannot play a note with twerking in unison – but also got a few cases of the giggles, endearingly so.

Art Garfunkel

Following his appearances with his one-time singing partner, Paul Simon, Art Garfunkel went solo on March 11, 1978, as the host and musical guest. In addition to his performances of "All I Know," "Scarborough Fair," and "Crying in My Sleep," he was joined by Stephen Bishop for "Wonderful World."

Lily Tomlin

For her first hosting gig, on the sixth episode of SNL's first season, comedy icon Lily Tomlin also filled in as the musical guest, performing "St. James Infirmary" with Howard Shore & the All Nurse Band. In what would now be considered a controversial SNL moment if it was not largely forgotten, Tomlin would return to pull double duty in Season 8 but, for her musical performances, donned blackface to play a male R&B singer character named Pervis Hawkins.

Everything is bigger in Texas, they say, and that certainly includes the star power of its homegrown celebrities. From the biggest stars in music to the biggest on the silver screen, the biggest celebs in the squared circle, and almost everywhere else, Texas has bred them all. 

California may be home to Hollywood, but there might not be a Hollywood without its biggest legends who hail from the Lone Star State, so here is our list of some of the biggest stars from Texas

Matthew McConaughey

Matthew McConaughey was born in Uvalde, Texas, raised mostly in Longview, TX, went to college in Austin, and got his first big break in show business in Dazed & Confused, which was, of course, filmed in Texas. McConaughey still lives in Austin. It makes sense that the proud Texan wants to see more movies made in his home state. McConaughey has also sparked rumors in the past that he might be interested in running for political office in Texas, though he's usually brushed them aside. Politician or not, the man sure loves his home state. 

Renée Zellweger

She may have won accolades for playing an English woman, but Renée Zellweger is Texas through and through. The Bridget Jones' Diary star was born outside Houston in Katy, TX, and grew up there before attending the University of Texas. It was in Austin that she discovered her love for acting and she landed her first on-screen role as an extra in Dazed & Confused. 

Owen Wilson

Dallas-born Owen Wilson has played a lot of fantastic roles over the years, but none better than his many roles in the films of Wes Anderson. Wilson and fellow Texan Anderson have been friends since their college days at the University of Texas. It's also worth noting that both of Owen Wilson's brothers, Luke and Andrew, also hail from Texas, of course. 

Jim Parsons

While some people ooze "Texas," Houston native Jim Parsons doesn't, really. You might guess he'd be from New York or Chicago, but nope, he's a Texan. Born and raised in the suburbs of Houston, he also attended the University of Houston before striking out for Hollywood and making it big. 

Carol Burnett

Comedy legend Carol Burnett grew up in California, attending high school right in Hollywood, but the Annie star was born deep in the heart of Texas, in San Antonio in 1933. Though her vast career has taken her far from Texas, the state can still call her one of its own. 

Beyoncé

If the stars are brighter and everything is bigger in Texas, then it only makes sense that one of the biggest stars would come from Houston. There is no bigger star on the planet than Beyoncé, who was born and raised in Texas along with her sister Solange and her Destiny's Child bandmate, LaTavia Roberson. 

Selena Gomez

Like many other native Texas, Selena Gomez is proud of her Mexican heritage. The Only Murders In The Building star was born in Grand Prairie, Texas, near Dallas, and although her many acting roles and career took her to California early in life, her family's roots are firmly in the Lone Star State. Gomez is named for another Texas native as well, the late Tejano superstar Selena, who was murdered in Corpus Christi in 1995. 

Woody Harrelson

Woody Harrelson first got famous playing a farm boy-turned-bartender from Indiana on Cheers, and while he moved to Ohio as a teenager, Harrelson was born in Midland, Texas. He's also tight with his occasional co-star and fellow Texan, Matthew McConaughey, and, according to McConaughey, the two could even be brothers! 

Tommy Lee Jones

Sure, he was roommates at Harvard with Al Gore, but Tommy Lee Jones is all Texan. The No Country For Old Men star was born in the small town of San Saba, Texas, and raised in Midland. He's never really strayed far either, as he has resided in Terrell Hills, TX, near San Antonio, for years. He's also a member of the Texas Cowboy Hall of Fame, and the Texas Film Hall of Fame. There really isn't another actor who screams "Texas" like Jones, is there?

Steve Martin

Waco-born Steve Martin is one of the funniest people in film history. While he grew up mostly in Southern California, his roots are originally in central Texas, where he was born in Waco, on August 14th, 1945, the same day that the Japanese surrendered in World War II. 

Jamie Foxx

The multi-talented Jamie Foxx started acquiring his many skills as a kid in Terrell, TX, outside Dallas, where he was born and raised. As a kid, he played piano and excelled at sports at Terrell High School. He moved to Southern California after school and in 1991, scored a role on In Living Color, and the rest is history. 

Jennifer Garner

Jennifer Garner moved to West Virginia when she was just three, so she probably doesn't remember much of anything from her early life in Texas, but the Daredevil star was born in Houston. 

Kelly Clarkson

Kelly Clarkson exploded into show business by winning the first-ever season of American Idol and she's been a star ever since. It's a journey that started when she was born in Forth Worth, TX, and raised in the suburb of Burleson, just outside the city. While her career may have taken her to LA and New York, her heart (and sports allegiance) has stayed in Texas.

Wes Anderson

People love to debate what the best Wes Anderson movie is, but if you are wondering what is his most personal, it's probably Bottle Rocket, which was filmed almost entirely in Anderson's home state of Texas. It stars a couple of fellow Texans as well, Owen and Luke Wilson. While the Wilsons are from Dallas originally, Anderson hails from Houston. 

Megan Thee Stallion

Megan Thee Stallion is a triple threat. She proved herself on the mic, and on the dance floor, first, then she started taking over TV and movies by starring in her first film in 2023. Before all that happened, though, she grew up in and around Houston. The “H-town Hottie” even got her nickname, Stallion, in the city. 

Michelle Rodriguez

Michelle Rodriguez has been in some huge film franchises, like Fast & Furious and Avatar. She kind of grew up all over, including in the Dominican Republic and Puerto Rico, but she was born and lived for a few years of her life in San Antonio, TX. 

Ethan Hawke

Ethan Hawke's parents were high school sweethearts who had Ethan shortly after they were married. Born in 1970 in Austin, TX, Hawke moved to the Northeast with his mother but spent his summers in Fort Worth with his dad. His grandfather even served in the Texas House of Representatives for 10 years. He has deep Texas roots that he is proud of. 

Hilary Duff

Lizzie McGuire star Hilary Duff is another Texas girl. Born in Houston, her family also spent time in San Antonio before moving to California when Duff was still young to pursue her acting career. Boy did that pay off quickly! 

Jennifer Love Hewitt

From a young age, Jennifer Love Hewitt was showing off her talents, singing and dancing across Texas, where she was born in 1979. Eventually, even the Lone Star State could not contain her and she moved to LA with her family, where she soon landed her first starring role on the legendary Party Of Five, after having roles on the Disney Channel and elsewhere as a kid. 

Eva Longoria

Born in Corpus Christi, TX in 1975, Eva Longoria has always been proud of her Tejano roots. In fact, her ancestry and culture are so important to her that she returned to college to earn a Master's degree in Chicano studies from Cal State-Northridge.

Forest Whitaker

Though he went to high school in Los Angeles, Forest Whitaker's life began in Longview, Texas. Every summer of his youth, he spent time with his grandparents in Longview and still has family all over Texas. 

Taylor Sheridan

It's no surprise that Taylor Sheridan is from Texas. While he was actually born in North Carolina, the Yellowstone creator is the definition of a true Texan. Not only did he grow up in Fort Worth, but he owns a working ranch in the Lone Star state called 6666 Ranch. He and his family live in Weatherford, Texas.

Farrah Fawcett

She might have had the reputation of being the all-American blonde from California, but Farrah Fawcett was born and raised in Texas. After high school in Corpus Christi, she attended the University of Texas before heading to Hollywood where she immediately started landing acting and modeling jobs. Once she scored her role on Charlie's Angels, the rest is history. 

Isaiah Washington

Controversial actor Isaiah Washington's most prominent role was in the first three seasons of Grey's Anatomy. Since then, he's worked on numerous films and TV shows, before announcing his retirement in 2023. He was born and raised in Houston. 

William Jackson Harper

Star of The Good Place William Jackson Harper is a native Texan, born in Dallas and raised in Garland, TX, where he first started acting in high school. His Texas-sized determination kept him going when he struggled early in his career, before finding a starring role on the Kristen Bell-led sitcom. 

Dakota Johnson

It might be surprising to learn that despite being the daughter of Hollywood royalty, Dakota Johnson was born in Texas. She was born to Melanie Griffith and Don Johnson in Austin while her father shot a movie in the Lone Star State. The star was then raised in Los Angeles, of course, but Austin will always be where she came into this world. Since then, she's built a great career. 

"Stone Cold" Steve Austin

Steven James Anderson loves his home state so much, that he took a name based on its capital, Austin. Better known as "Stone Cold" Steve Austin, the WWE superstar was, in fact, born in Austin, though he was raised mostly in Edna, TX. The wrestler still owns property in the state, Broken Skull Ranch, near Tilden, TX. It's not like he hides his love for the state either, as one of his many nicknames is "The Texas Rattlesnake."

Gary Busey

People sometimes forget that Gary Busey was once nominated for an Oscar for playing Texan Buddy Holly in The Buddy Holly Story, and the actor also hails from Holly's home state. Busey was born in the Houston area; Baytown, Texas, to be exact. He moved to Oklahoma in elementary school and it was in Tulsa that the enigmatic actor began his show biz career. One of his first big breaks in Hollywood was a TV show that was set in Texas called, appropriately, The Texas Wheelers.

Gina Carano

Gina Carano was controversially dismissed from The Mandalorian and whether you agree with the decision or not, it's hard to argue that the MMA star brought a little bit of that strong individualism Texas is known for to the role and her career. Something that might be inherent in her, as she was born in Dallas County Texas.

Shaquille O'Neal

Texas is a huge state, with a lot of personality, so it only makes sense that a celebrity who's physically large and has a personality to match would hail from the state. Shaquille O’Neal is an Army brat, so he moved around a lot as a kid, including being born in New Jersey. It's in Texas, however, where the world started to pay attention to O'Neal as he became a standout basketball star, eventually becoming a top college recruit and going to LSU for school. He was drafted into the NBA as the #1 overall pick in 1992, and the rest is history.  

Robin Wright

Robin Wright might be best known for playing a Washington insider on House Of Cards and a Buttercup in The Princess Bride, but before all that, she was born in Dallas in 1966. Her parents divorced when she was young and her family moved to Southern California, but for those two years, she was a Texan. 

Michael Strahan

He first made a name for himself playing football in New York, and now he's known for hosting Good Morning America in New York, but Michael Strahan is a born and bred Texan. He was born in Houston, and went to high school there, though for a little while he lived with his family in Germany where his father was stationed in the Army. 

There you have it, a list that proves everything is, indeed, bigger in Texas. The toast, the steer, the plains, and the stars. Not just the stars in the sky, but the stars in Hollywood and beyond. Few states can compete with the Lone Star state when it comes to star power. 

Veteran actor Gary Busey has continued to work in recent years, taking on a variety of (occasionally unconventional) productions. At the same time, he’s also experienced a number of personal setbacks, including some legal issues. It now seems the Oscar nominee may find himself in more hot water. Busey was allegedly involved in a hit-and-run accident days ago, and a woman who was apparently involved has spoken out. And while giving her account, she shared details about a confrontation she purportedly had with the actor after the vehicular moment occurred. 

The lady, whose name was not revealed, said that said accident happened last Wednesday in Malibu. At the time, she was reportedly driving down Pacific Coast Highway, when the Lethal Weapon star quickly pulled out of a shopping center. She says that in doing so, the actor hit her back bumper and proceeded to drive away instead of stopping to exchange information. She then proceeded to chase down the 79-year-old star and while doing so, recorded a video, which was shared with TMZ. The clip shows her trying to flag the Hollywood vet down only for him to keep going. 

Ultimately, she caught up with Gary Busey at a parking lot that was in proximity to a restaurant. As the video shows, what resulted was a tense discussion. Busey, when confronted, mentioned that he has auto insurance with Progressive, though he didn’t provide further details, much to the woman’s dismay. Before leaving, he also told her, “I’m private.” As of this writing, police are looking into the matter, and Busey’s team has not responded.

As mentioned, this is just one legal-related situation that’s befallen the Point Break alum in recent years. It was in August 2022 that Gary Busey was arrested on multiple charges, including criminal sexual contact in the fourth degree. The charges stemmed from a situation that purportedly occurred at the Monster Mania Convention, where a fan claims he put his face close to her breasts and attempted to undo her bra. Busey subsequently denied the claims, saying the woman fabricated the story. 

The past decade or so has also seen the actor deal with some financial issues. He declared Chapter 7 bankruptcy in February 2012 and eventually reached a court settlement that December. At the time, the Sharknado 4 alum found himself $500k in debt, with the court agreeing to have $57,303.63 of that wiped away. Though at that point, he still owed $451,297.33. 

These days, he’s seemingly kept a relatively low profile, aside from a gig here and there. One of his most recent credits is Pet Judge, a court comedy miniseries that saw him dishing out justice over animal-related matters. In 2021, he also appeared on an episode of Shameless, playing the role of Frank Gallagher’s father. 

We’ll have to wait and see how this reported hit-and-run investigation pans out. What should be made clear is that the woman involved did not have actual footage of the alleged collision. Whether police find probable cause to take legal action remains to be seen.

Gary Busey found himself in serious legal trouble over the weekend when the actor was charged with four counts, including two counts of criminal sexual contact, stemming from an incident that took place in New Jersey, earlier in the month. While details are scarce regarding exactly what happened. Busey has now spoken out and denied any and all wrongdoing, and given a bit of detail regarding where this alleged incident took place.

A photographer caught up with Gary Busey while he was getting gas in his home town of Malibu and asked the actor if he was guilty of any of the charges against him. The video has been posted to TMZ. Busey denied everything, claiming that the women pressing charges against him made up the entire story. While it’s still unclear what they are saying happened at the recent Monster Mania Convention in Cherry Hill, NJ, Busey says the alleged incident took place during a photo op. Busey said…

So according to Gary Busey, who has starred in films like Point Break and appeared in a variety of reality shows including The Apprentice,  he spent no more than a few seconds with the women who are pressing charges, and they all parted company without incident. This assumes, of course, that this is the incident that is at issue in the criminal complaint. While the announcement of the charges from the Cherry Hill, NJ police laid out the charges, it is, for obvious reasons, short on the specifics. 

However while Busey claims nothing happened, a statement from the Monster Mania convention claims that they received the complaint form the women in question shortly after the event transpired, and that Busey was asked to leave immediately.

Whatever the situation, the police felt, following the investigation, that there was sufficient evidence to file the charges. If there were other people in the room we can assume the police at least attempted to speak with them to get their perspective on what happened. 

Busey was even asked by the same photographer if there was any possibility that he did something accidentally, without realizing what may have happened, but Busey is maintaining that absolutely nothing happened, repeating…

Gary Busey has had an interesting and somewhat wild career, especially in recent years, though Busey’s only other dealing with the law in the last 10 years was a bankruptcy filing. With charges now filed against Gary Busey it would seem we will likely be hearing more about what allegedly transpired here. One has to wonder if even the allegations will be enough to have an impact on Busey’s career as he has a pair of film projects reportedly in pre-production.  

Gary Busey, known to many for his lengthy acting career, is currently in the midst of a serious legal situation. The 78-year-old performer was recently arrested and is now facing multiple charges stemming from incidents that reportedly occurred earlier this month. Among the charges that Busey is now looking at are two counts of criminal sexual contact in the fourth degree. The actor was booked amid an investigation that’s said to be ongoing. 

News of Gary Busey’s arrest was confirmed by a press release issued by the Cherry Hill Police Department of New Jersey. Per the Twitter release, the incidents are connected to the Monster Mania Convention, an annual event that was held at the Doubletree Hotel in the aforementioned city from August 12th to the 14th this year. Busey was reportedly one of the people in attendance, as evidenced by a social media post shared by a fan at the time. 

The Predator 2 star is currently facing four charges in total. Aside from the previously mentioned two counts of criminal sexual contact, he’s also been hit with a count of criminal attempt/criminal sexual content in the fourth degree as well as a disorderly conduct count of harassment. As of this writing, the actor’s reps have not provided a statement on the matter, and it's unclear as to whether the star, who resides in Malibu, California, is still in New Jersey at this time.

While specifics on the situations have not been released at this time, it’s said that Cherry Hill police responded to the situation during the weekend of the Monster Mania Convention. The police department is asking that anyone with further information on what occurred reach out to local authorities. 

Gary Busey is probably best known to the public for his role in 1978’s The Buddy Holly Story, in which he played the titular musician. The star would ultimately be nominated for an Academy Award for his work. He’s likely also remembered for his role in Kathryn Bigelow’s Point Break, which paired him with his “very vulnerable” colleague Keanu Reeves. And just last year he appeared on the final season of Showtime’s long-running drama series, Shameless (a show streamable with a Netflix subscription).

The star has faced other personal setbacks over the years. In 2012, Gary Busey filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy, with the case persisting for most of the year. After it was all said and done, the actor managed to have $57,303.63 worth of debt wiped off his tab of $500,000. 

Further updates on the Monster Mania Convention situations are sure to arrive sooner rather than later. Only time will tell how the Hollywood star at the center of the situation will choose to proceed.

Keanu Reeves was Gary Busey’s "very vulnerable" little brother while making Point Break. The two actors starred together in the 1991 Kathryn Bigelow film as FBI agents trying to stop a string of bank robberies, Keanu Reeves the wide-eyed rookie Johnny Utah and Gary Busey the surly veteran showing him the ropes. Gary Busey recalled what it was like working with 2019’s favorite person on Point Break, saying:

It sounds like Gary Busey tried to take the younger actor under his wing a bit during the making of the action classic and be someone Keanu Reeves could turn to when needed. And it seems there was some need because, according to Gary Busey, Keanu Reeves was very vulnerable at that time. Gary Busey doesn’t elaborate on that, but Keanu Reeves was young when making Point Break, still coming up in the industry and apparently emotionally vulnerable in some way.

So Gary Busey tried to be there for him in any way he could. Although he jokes about Keanu constantly needing his big brother, by remembering Keanu Reeves as his little brother on Point Break, Gary Busey gives the impression that he had a great deal of fondness for him.

Although Keanu Reeves was vulnerable during the making of Point Break, he was also quite engaged, it seems, active and conscious of what was going on. Gary Busey told The Hollywood Reporter that his young co-star was soaking up the entire experience like a sponge, learning everything he could and not just from the other actors and director Kathryn Bigelow, but from the crew as well.

We’ve often heard that Keanu Reeves treats everyone the same and with respect and his desire to learn from everyone on Point Break, regardless of position, really reflects that. He was young and eager to learn and Point Break was both a job and a learning opportunity and one that was just a step in his journey to become the action icon he is today.

Gary Busey also paints an incredible image here of the standout memory he has from working with Keanu Reeves. A young Keanu Reeves riding a cheap motorcycle to set, sounds exactly right for the motorcycle enthusiast who now owns his own motorcycle company, Arch Motorcycles.

Gary Busey will next star this fall in an off-Brodway musical called Only Human, where he will basically play God in a corporate version of heaven. As for his Point Break little brother, well Keanu Reeves is having an outstanding 2019 and it was recently announced that in 2020, he will be filming The Matrix 4, reprising his iconic role as Neo.

Thomas Ian Nicholas

Before Rookie of the Year, Thomas Ian Nicholas had made an appearance in Radio Flyer, in addition to some steady TV gigs. However, it was the role of Henry Rowengartner that gave him his big start. Afterwards, Nicholas would go on to other kids flicks like A Kid in King Arthur's Court, and eventually land in the American Pie series as an adult. He'll be at Game 4, if you're interested in trying to track him down for some good luck.

Daniel Stern

With two Home Alone films and almost the full run of The Wonder Years already occurring before starring in, and also directing, Rookie of the Year, Daniel Stern was already pretty well known to kids and adults. Yet if there was one role that Stern has actively resurrected in recent years, it was that of the Cubs' Phil Brickma. While Stern moved on to star in shows like Dilbert and Manhattan, he brought back Brickma for some inspiring social media posts to Chicago Cubs fans.

Gary Busey

With almost thirty years of iconic appearances in films such as The Buddy Holly Story and Lethal Weapon, Gary Busey was an interesting choice for a family film. Yet he worked wonderfully as pitcher Chet "The Rocket" Steadman, and thus another memorable role was added to his resume. Post Rookie of the Year, Busey certainly didn't slow down, racking up tons of additional film and TV credits, with Entourage and Dancing with the Stars serving as his latest credits.

Dan Hedaya

TV and Movies had seen a lot of Dan Hedaya before he played sneaky team manager Larry "Fish" Fisher, as he was well known for his recurring role on Cheers, and his appearances in The Mighty Ducks and The Addams Family. After Rookie of the Year, Hedaya would continue serving as a character actor extraordinaire in everything from Nixon to Alien Resurrection. In recent years, Dan Hedaya has been seen in the TV world on shows like Gotham and Blue Bloods.

Neil Flynn

There's a link between Rookie of the Year, today's film of the day, and Major League -- and it's co-star Neil Flynn, the actor that spanned across both films. Not content with being a fan anymore, Flynn turned player with his role as Okie. As we'd mentioned yesterday, Flynn made a hell of a career for himself down the line, as he made an appearance in Magnolia, and went on to star on both Scrubs and The Middle.

John Candy

Though he was uncredited in the film's roster, John Candy has always been one of those personas that you knew a mile away. Playing the Cubs' loyal sportscaster, Candy was already on a hot streak after decades of comedy experience on SCTV, as well as with appearances in films like National Lampoon's Vacation and Home Alone. Sadly, John Candy would pass away a year after this film was released, while filming Wagons East in Mexico.

Amy Morton

Most of you probably know Amy Morton from her more recent roles, such as the sister to George Clooney's central character in Up In The Air, or her recurring role as Sgt. Trudy Platt on both Chicago Fire and Chicago P.D. But before all of that, she played Mary Rowengartner, supportive movie mom to Henry during his time of injury and ultimate success. His arm may have had the magic, but without Mary, Henry wouldn't have had the heart needed to win the day.

Square Enix and IO Interactive are still pumping out new content for Hitman, as the new reboot of the series continues its episodic journey toward completion. The latest update includes the next Elusive Target, a one-time opportunity to take out a target with no second chances.

Game Informer is reporting that the next Elusive Target will be actor Gary Busey. Yes, the same Gary Busey from Point Break, Drop Zone and Under Siege. Heck, someone should do a five degrees of separation game between Gary Busey and all the famous action stars from the 1980s and 1990s.

Anyway, the new Elusive Target will only be available for seven days starting July 21st at 5am Pacific Standard Time and he will be gone on July 28th the following week. Gary Busey will be available on the Sapienza map.

Originally IO Interactive ran a voting contest to choose which one would gamers prefer hunting down, actor Gary Cole or actor Gary Busey. Gamers instinctively went with Gary Busey. It's not hard to see why.

Busey will be the seventh in the ever-growing line of Elusive Targets featured in the 2016 reboot of Hitman. The first six have been killed in a number of different ways since first being introduced by IO Interactive earlier this year.

The company and the publisher are doing something a little bit differently with the series, opting to go with an episodic release of the content instead of the traditional $60 pack that contains all of the levels right from the get-go.

In a way, IO Interactive have stated that this affords them some adaptability in how to roll the content out for Hitman. It's a little weird because what happens when one episode does well but maybe the follow-up doesn't? Do you just leave it or keep trucking on? Or is it possible that they're only completing the episodes when the previous episodes fill up an escrow of sorts to allow them to have the budget to make the next episode?

It's a weird setup that seems like it would be more troublesome than beneficial, especially trying to ensure everything ties together and that compatibility isn't an issue when it comes to saved games and data handling for gamers who buy some episodes but skip out on others. On the upside, at least they know what the performance limitations are and they can adjust and optimize on the fly after each episode releases. It's a lot different than releasing a full game and trying to fix certain issues post-release when a game has frame-rate or graphical issues.

Anyway, Hitman recently had the Marrakesh stage released, and they also offered an update to the stage where gamers could tackle some of the missions at night.

They plan on following up Marrakesh with a new stage set in the good 'ole U.S., Of A. They haven't rolled out any details yet on where in the U.S., the stage will take place, but expect some more info soon after gamers get done taking care of Gary Busey this week in Hitman.

Gaming Blend recently reviewed the newest Hitman installment on PS4. Many were unhappy about the episodic approach to the game style, but I didn’t seem to mind. And while the Elusive Targets feature has been delayed, IO Interactive has been making sure to keep things cooking in order to keep fans happy. They recently released a promo video for the upcoming Hitman mission, letting players choose which Gary they’d rather assassinate—and you just know Gary Busey is going to win over Gary Cole by a landslide. So the promo video gives two options for targets: Gary Cole and Gary Busey. You might recognize Gary Cole from his most notable role, as Bill Lumbergh from 1999’s Office Space. If you don’t remember who he is, here’s a refresher:

On the other hand, Gary Busey has still been doing a little bit of acting and is currently working on the fourth sequel to the Sharknado series. And while both Gary’s have their own stories to tell, Busey has been dubbed as crazy by many for his reality show antics and his deep-rooted religious beliefs.

So when it comes down to the two Gary’s, I personally think Busey is going to take the cake. Sure, Cole played a notorious villain in Office Space that almost every single person who’s held a job can relate to, but Busey would be a better hunt. Surprisingly enough, one of the Gary’s will actually be the target in the next mission. I think this certainly makes up for the delay in the Elusive Target game feature, so keep it coming IO Interactive and Square Enix!

Just when you thought the world couldn’t get any more insane, Syfy went and gave the greenlight to another Sharknado movie… and we’re so happy about that. The upcoming sequel will see Ian Ziering’s Fin Shepherd return to do battle with another army of swirling sharks while also revealing the fate of Tara Reid’s April Wexler – whose survival was left up to the viewers in an inspired Jason Todd-esque cliffhanger. We still know very little about the upcoming fourth installment in the Sharknado saga, but we have just learned that Syfy has just added numerous additions to the films cast, including Gary Busey, Cheryl Tiegs, Tommy Davidson, Imani Hakim, Cody Linley and Masiela Lusha.

Of the many new additions to the cast, the most notorious is actor Gary Busey (as seen above), whose not-so-borderline insane personality has provided him with a cult following over the years in movies ranging from Lethal Weapon to Point Break. He will take on the role of Wilford Wexler, April Wexler’s father and (possibly mad) scientist who excels in the field of advanced robotics. Like we said though, he won’t be the only actor joining the fray in Sharknado 4, and let's take a closer look at the rest of the cast that will get caught up in tornadoes full of apex predators.

Cheryl Tiegs

A woman who needs no introduction, Cheryl Tiegs has become known as one of the most iconic models in American history. In Sharknado 4, she will portray Fin’s mother Raye, an independent free spirit who has no trouble making her opinions known. While we can’t wait to see what she brings to the role, she will undoubtedly feel the weight Col. Gil Shephard’s sacrifice during the climax of the last Sharknado.

Tommy Davidson

A longtime fixture in the comedy community, Tommy Davidson has appeared in numerous cult classic movies and TV shows over the years, ranging from Juwanna Mann to In Living Color. In Sharknado 4, he will play a character named Aston Reynolds, a billionaire tech genius who uses his company’s resources in an effort to prevent future sharknados. Based upon the title of the movie, we have a sneaking suspicious that might not go too well for him.

Imani Hakim

Audiences will likely recognize Imani Hakim from her role as Tonya Rock on the beloved sitcom Everybody Hates Chris. Now it seems the child actress has grown up, as Hakim will portray Gabrielle in Sharknado 4, who is a tough as nails soldier who has no problem standing up for herself in the face of overwhelming danger.

Cody Linley

Longtime Disney fans will recognize singer and actor Cody Linley from his role as Jake Ryan in the popular Disney Channel original series Hannah Montana. Sharknado 4 will see Linley take on the role of Matt, Fin and April’s oldest son. Having survived the events of the first movie, Matt went on to become an expert pilot and longs to return to his hero father’s side.

Masiela Lusha

Rounding out the cast is Masiela Lusha, another former sitcom star who first gained notoriety for her role on the hit ABC series George Lopez. Lusha will appear as Fin’s cousin Gemini, another member of the Shepherd bloodline who has absolutely no trouble getting their hands covered in shark guts when a sharknado touches down.

With all of these new additions to the already stellar cast, Sharknado 4 promises to be one of the best installments in the franchise to date. We will keep you up to date with all of the latest and greatest Sharknado information as it becomes available to us.

On paper, Gary Busey vs Trace Adkins is about as lopsided of a Celebrity Apprentice project manager match-up as the show has ever given us. In actuality, however, the slugfest turned out to be pretty back and forth with the final decision coming down to details rather than giant mistakes.

This week, the teams were given a task from Australian Gold to make a forty-five second to one minute long silent film to advertise the wide array of skin care products the company offers. Trace’s team (newly bolstered with the addition of Marilu) decided to charge forward with a caveman time travel theme. Their main character caveman, played by Trace, discovered portals linking him to the 1920s and 1986, the year the company was founded. Obviously, the first two places were dreary disasters filled with plenty of sunburns and the latter was a giant party thanks to Australian Gold.

Busey’s team, conversely, decided to keep its film more modern. Stephen Baldwin took on directing duties, and they put together a project that featured Gary as some kind of Australian Gold fairy who comes upon a couple on the beach and uses the product to turn their black and white flirting into a more heated scene of color.

Team Busey definitely featured the product more throughout the entire commercial, but because they only dealt with the bronzer and Lil Jon smartly included a hero shot of all the products at the end, Trace Adkins’ squad walked away with the victory. In the boardroom, it was back and forth between Gary and Stephen until the latter made the fateful mistake of calling his project manager excellent. Trump couldn’t understand why Baldwin would praise someone so much when it was between the two of them, and for his failure, he decided to send him packing.

The Favorites

#1) Lil Jon (27): Lil Jon was a rockstar again this week, taking on his team’s directorial role in the Australian Gold challenge. He actually even took over for Trace in the product meeting with the Australian Gold representatives. Between leadership capabilities, creativity, and a generally calm demeanor, Lil Jon has been one of the top players throughout the competition, and should continue to achieve success.

#2) Penn Jillette (26): When Donald Trump asked Trace who he wanted to join his team, there was little dealt he would choose Penn. In fact, the cowboy picked the magician first when he was a captain at the beginning of the season. Alas, Trump vetoed that proposal this week and Jillette remained with his current team, largely taking a backseat this week to Stephen and Gary. Look for him to be a little more aggressive next time around.

#3) Trace Adkins (25): Trace has been a top player throughout the competition, but he did show a few problems this week. First, he let Lil Jon take the meeting with the Australian Gold reps due to believing learning about the project was a “waste of time.” Trace has won two challenges, now, and he should be a strong contender, but his “my way or the highway” attitude could get him into trouble at some point.

#4) Marilu Henner (22): Even though Marilu didn’t do a ton on this task on paper, her switching over to Trace’s team may have actually been the reason why her new team won. She offered a flutter of ideas throughout the filming process, and something tells me, had she been on her old team, there’s no way she would have let them complete the commercial without offering some kind of hero shot with the full array of products at the end.

The Contenders

#5) Brande Roderick (20): Brande has been a solid contributor for weeks and weeks. This week, she kind of sat back and let Marilu handle the details while she modeled. She still needs to take another shot at leading the team and with some strong players above her, we’ll see if she has a shot at the finale.

#6) Lisa Rinna (18): Lisa showed off a pretty sweet bikini body and some solid modeling skills this week. Those two things were enough to win her raves from the Australian Gold executives, but unfortunately, they won’t be enough to win her a spot in the finale. She needs to really take the bull by the horns and contribute some good ideas over the next few weeks or sadly, she may get eliminated as a very good but not great player.

#7) Gary Busey (16): Gary Busey brings some wild ideas to the table and one of those wild ideas was actually turned into an Australian Gold commercial this week. As project manager, Busey was a madman who didn’t particularly delegate. Because he didn’t really take care of business, he probably should have been fired due to being a poor boss, but Trump didn’t see it that way. I can’t imagine Gary making it to the finale, although we’ll have to wait and see.

The year of the utterly bizarre boardroom decisions continued this week with the losing project manager making a horrible choice and bringing the wrong people back with her to fight it out. Trump was once again flabbergasted by the foolish approach, and the poor project manager never even had a real chance to talk her way out of it. More on that later, however.

Prior to all that drama, the teams were greeted by Apprentice veteran Farouk from Farouk Systems. He tasked the groups to put on two competing displays inside and around glass trucks to hype his hair products Chi and Biosilk. Claudia Jordan was pushed to the forefront because of her modeling experience, and Marilu Henner stepped up and took on the responsibility for her team. The former’s group, pushed on by a brilliant idea from Lil Jon, used the slogan “Chi Wants You To Be Beautiful”. The rapper purchased an Uncle Sam costume, and he and his teammates took some wonderful promotional pics. Farouk loved the branding and the American theme. Unfortunately, the team set up hair testing stations outside of the truck and converted that show space into a place for people to take pictures, which the executives hated.

On the other end of the spectrum, Marilu’s team wasn’t so hot at brand messaging. They went with the mediocre slogan “Experience Silk”, which the executives weren’t particularly excited about. Fortunately, they used the truck to actually give quick makeovers using the products, and they created a crazy spectacle with Penn juggling fire and Trace standing on top of the truck and singing.

Based on this main element of the challenge, you would think Claudia and company would have had it in the bag, but because their truck got so much less foot traffic and because they didn’t properly use the truck itself, they lost. Claudia was asked which two players she wanted to bring back into the boardroom, and despite continually bitching about Omarosa and telling Don she was horrible because she contributed nothing and took way too long to get props, Claudia decided to bring back Lil Jon and Dennis Rodman.

Of every single player on both teams, Farouk raved about Lil Jon the most. He absolutely loved everything he did from the Uncle Sam costume to the slogan, continuing his run of awesome creativity. So, naturally, Trump and company deduced that Claudia was scared to bring Omarosa back (like they did with LaToya last week), and whether that was true or not, she was given the big ugly axe.

After all, he is the creative force on his team, and he was praised this week not only for his performance but for his ideas. Currently, Lil Jon seems to be the strongest force on his own team and unless he messes up during a run as project manager, I don’t foresee him going home anytime soon.

#2) Penn Jillette (24): Penn did his best Teller impression this week. More often than not, he was completely silent, though, judging from context clues, he accomplished things. Marilu asked him to write some copy, and since no one complained and this wasn’t an issue, we can assume he did so effectively. He also juggled and attracted quite a crowd, which was a huge asset in creating a spectacle. Penn is definitely one of the stronger players, but he really needs to win as project manager to solidify his place.

#2) Trace Adkins (24): Trace was great again this week, but he did have one flub, challenging Stephen Baldwin on an advertising slogan. While the judges hated Baldwin’s slogan after hearing it, they also didn’t like Trace’s and it seemed like he might have been in trouble had the team lost. Luckily, that turned out to not be the case and the country music singer will be able to move forward and continue to show strength in the future.

#2) Marilu Henner (24): Stephen Baldwin attempted to compare Marilu to Gary Busey this week, which didn’t take, thankfully. The actress talks a mile a minute and spits out any momentary idea she has. However, that doesn’t mean she isn’t competent. She delegated tasks and bounced ideas all afternoon, even managing to beat the other team’s project manager, Claudia, to signing Miss USA for the challenge. With a win under her belt, things are looking good for Ms. Henner.

The Contenders

#5) Brande Roderick (20): Earlier this season, Brande’s turn as project manager didn’t go so well. She earned plenty of money for her charity, but she showed no capacity to delegate, whatsoever. However, Brande’s a hard worker and she reminds me a lot of former Celebrity Apprentice contestant Summer Sanders because she seems to be a great #2. That could keep her in the game for a while.

#6) Lisa Rinna (17): Lisa is a hard worker, and she’s always busy as a bee. She’s willing to take on responsibility, and she rarely causes any waves. That being said, she hasn’t quite had a brilliant moment yet. She hasn’t quite throw herself out there, taken a big risk and saw her team victorious because of it. Until she does, it’s hard to be anything but cautiously optimistic.

#7) Stephen Baldwin (16): Stephen insert himself into challenges and does his best to help out where he can. That being said, there’s just something about his behavior and/ or face that puts people on edge. He just screams underhanded and untrustworthy, and whether warranted or not, that quality will likely cause everyone else to roll over on him at some point during a boardroom.

#8) Dennis Rodman(15): Dennis is a good foot solider. Given the right instructions, he’s a very valuable team member. In fact, a case could be made that he’s one of the two or three most famous people on the entire show, which adds a huge amount of value every time there’s a challenge dealing with the general public. It would be a surprise if Dennis won but certainly not if he stayed another few weeks.

The Dark Horses

#9) Omarosa (12): It’s upsetting to watch Omarosa’s team chicken out on bringing her into the boardroom week in and week out. However, I guess it saves the audience from having to listen to her inane arguments. What confuses me most about Omarosa is why she isn’t a hard worker. This week she took four hours to get a partial list of props. Last week, she disappeared for half the task to deal with nonsense. In short, she’s lazy. Her team may be scared of her, but she’s a weak individual who doesn’t really garner respect from anyone. It’s about time for her to go.

#10) Gary Busey (10): Busey is sort of like the anti-Omarosa. His teammates aren’t afraid to continually single him out in the boardroom; yet, no one really dislikes him. Everyone agrees he’s a good dude. He’s just kind of a well-intentioned weirdo that can be distracting if he’s not given enough to do. For his sake, I hope his team keeps winning.

Some stars in Hollywood sizzle under the spotlight, others burn out. Then there's Gary Busey, who stares into the spotlight with a crazy-eyed concentration that has made him so much more than a star. Over a career that has already spanned forty-some years, he has become an Oscar nominated actor, a producer, occasional composer, and sometimes singer. But that's not all. Busey is also a fascinating man who plays by his own rules…and really, really loves hobbits. He's sort of obsessed actually.

Earlier this year, we shared a video from The Busey Zone that showed Busey in a restful moment, on a lovely hillside pondering the lives of hobbits. At the time, he not only told us about their peculiar fashion trends, but also their ambiguous genders, and mysterious "apparatus." If you thought that was the end of Busey's thoughts on the sex lives of hobbits, count yourself as very, very wrong. This time he shakes it up with a song. So, now you know how to properly stroke a reindeer, make a Korean aphrodisiac, and the origin of the word "horny." Plus, you've seen a 300-year-old hobbit foot preserved in formaldehyde and tornado berry juice licked by Gary Busey. But really, Busey's focus (let's call it "focus") is to tell some smart rapper out there (let's say Usher) about the untapped source of hip hop inspiration that is hobbit sex. Check that beat he's laying down. Obviously, it would be a hit.

On a side note, who among you would want to be at a "proper" dinner party at Gary Busey's house complete with a hobbit foot for every guest? Everyone? I thought so.

If there’s one thing that can be said about bankruptcy court, it’s that the process is slow. Celebrity Apprentice contestant and actor Gary Busey declared Chapter 7 all the way back in February, and the court system only closed his case a few days ago. Unfortunately, the horizon isn’t looking all that spectacular for the 68-year-old.

When dealing with the courts, Busey did manage to get $57,303.63 worth of debt knocked off of his overall total. However, when a person's debt starts out at a whopping 500,000 dollars, a little over $57,000 begins looking like dimes and nickels. Not that I have personal experience with this, but yeesh. According to TMZ, the man still owes $451,297.33--money which did not go away due to his bankruptcy declaration. Apparently, this is because that latter number is owed to state and federal taxes, and even declaring bankruptcy won’t get a person into the clear when the taxman is involved.

The good news is, his final court settlement is far less than the over one million dollar number it was initially believed the actor owed back in February. Additionally, the man does get to keep his assets—all measly $26,000 worth. It’s a little sad to see a 68-year-old man who has achieved quite a lot in his life finding himself in such dire times, and hopefully, Busey will be able to work his way out of the situation with the tax man and land on his feet. There won’t be much he can do about that credit rating, though.

With a title like Piranha 3DD audiences expect a heaping dose of gore with plenty of T&A, and the latest trailer for this feeding frenzy flick doesn't disappoint. There are loads of leering close-ups of a bevy of bikini-clad beauties, plus the promise of unrepentant havoc. But that's not all! Punching up the darkly comic element of this freaky fish tale are appearances from Baywatch's David Hasselhoff playing a snide parody of himself, Anchorman's David Koechner as a horn-dog water park operator, the often unhinged Gary Busey, and the befuddling return of Paul Scheer, who mysteriously vanished half-way through the last movie, and Ving Rhames, who lost his legs in a most horrifying— but badass--fashion. Directed by John Gulager, the twisted mind who helmed the Feast trilogy, Piranha 3DD takes the terror closer to home by having the flesh-craving fish from the Alexandre Aja's Piranha leaving the lake behind to storm the town's waterlines. Not only do these bloodthirsty piranhas invade a popular, stripper-stuffed water park, but they also venture into people's bathtubs, leading to a vagina dentata setup that's sure to terrify teens for decades to come. Of course, the premise is preposterous, but who cares? Gulager looks like he's bringing a lot of enthusiasm to this wholly insane feature, making it seem far more fun than Aja's misanthropic entry into the franchise. With an irreverent attitude, elements of body horror, cheeky allusions and bits of biting comedy, Gulager looks to have created a monster movie that's sure to be bizarre but could also be brilliant—in a B-movie kind of way.

It’s been a little while since Cinema Blend has heard from Gary Busey. Last spring he spent a crazy and surprisingly elongated tenure on Celebrity Apprentice. More recently, he filmed Piranha 3DD and landed a few other roles in film projects in Hollywood. Now, Gary Busey is ready to return to television, this time in a scripted role.

Scripted or no, Busey is often at his best when he is playing himself, if you will, and that’s exactly who CBS would like Busey to be. The Academy Award nominated actor will appear on Two and a Half Men as a version of himself who is staying in a mental hospital. THR is reporting in the episode, Alan (John Cryer) will begin to unravel after his brother’s death and will soon begin to believe he actually is his brother. Which brings us to where the mental hospital will fit in.

Busey’s big moment will pop up pretty quickly. The episode he will guest star in premieres on November 14, so we only have a little over a week to set our DVRs for the event. Even though I’ve pretty much boycotted Two and a Half Men at this juncture, I might check it out. It’s always pretty cool to see an actor come to complete terms with former failures and inadequacies, whatever those may be. If you can joke about real deep shit, you are sure to be fine. Maybe that’s why I appreciate the guest stars on Saturday Night Live so much.

I’m going to take this moment to be brutally honest: tonight’s MTV Movie Awards were just plain awful. Host Jason Sudeikis, who is normally pretty damn funny, relied on repetitive Arnold Schwarzenegger jokes for cheap laughs, the skits were awful and every single award was predictable and/or awful (the exception being Emma Stone’s win for Best Comedic Performance). Needless to say, finding five positive moments in tonight’s show was a struggle.

Below you will find a list of the only events from tonight’s show that didn’t cause viewers severe brain damage. It’s worth noting that all five moments, when totaled together, probably equal less than five minutes of the two-hour-plus program. We call them the best moments, but really it’s all relative. Justin Timberlake And Mila Kunis Grope Each Other

Presenting the first award of the night, Best Male Performance, the Friends With Benefits co-stars began by mentioning that they aren’t dating and are, instead, just really good friends. Then the two actors proceeded to make both male and female members of the audience jealous as Timberlake reached out to grab Kunis’ sweater puppies while she returned the favor by grabbing his twig and berries. The moment was almost ruined by Timberlake’s clichéd falsetto voice, but let’s be real here: public genital grabbing always gets a pass.

Foo Fighters Performance

No, their performance didn’t have anything to do with movies directly, but since when are we writing off the Foo Fighters because of technicalities (also, the band was featured in a pretty sick documentary earlier this year). Performing “Walk,” the new single off of their album Wasting Light, the Foo Fighters rocked the house. What is the only sad thing about their performance? They were playing for a crowd of Twilight fans who wouldn’t recognize a great group like the Foo Fighters if the band stood behind them and pelted them with rocks.

Harry Potter Clip

The first trailer for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 was the definition of epic, and the clip shown at tonight’s MTV Movie Awards was no different. The scene begins with Voldemort waiting in the woods for Harry to come face him, but believes he is a no-show. That is, until he walks out of the woods to face his fate. “The boy who lives has come to die”: amazing.

Reece Witherspoon’s Advice To Young Girls

On stage to accept this year’s generation award, Witherspoon began her speech by mentioning the infamous kiss between Sandra Bullock and Scarlett Johansson (which made this list last year), but made her own memorable moment as well by delivering a bit of advice. Presumably speaking about the recently leaked pictures of Blake Lively, Witherspoon offered the following: "Hide your face if you're gonna send naked pictures." It’s something the young starlets might want to keep in mind.

Gary Busey In A Hamster Ball

Sure, he was there to present an award to Twilight, but this is still Gary Busey we’re talking about. Arriving to present the award for Best Picture of the Year (according to MTV viewers), Busey rolled on stage in a giant plastic bubble saying that he only accepted the job because the bubble fit through the doors. Sure, it was scripted and not natural Busey-crazy, but he may actually believe that something is wrong with his immune system and stay in that ball for the rest of his life.

Jake Busey, the son of beleaguered actor Gary Busey, admitted to TMZ that he may be off to rehab soon after a recent run-in with “a little too much fun.”

The Starship Troopers actor was checked into the hospital for alcohol poisoning after over-indulging in beer. Really, just beer, celeb readers--not every hospital stint can be blamed on cocaine. He told TMZ he’s headed towards a "straight path to clean living" and may also reach out to his dad, Gary, to get him back in film. Maybe they should work together on a PSA for a drug-free America, or would that just be too ironic?

While carrying the surname of an Oscar nominee had its perks, Jake Busey has had to forge for much of his own work. After a few bit parts in movies as a child and teen, Busey found himself cast as Ace Levy in the movie, Starship Troopers in the late 90's. But after a few more bit roles in film, the actor turned to work in television, working in shows like CSI: Miami, The Mentalist, and The Good Guys. The last large movie he was in was Christmas with the Kranks, so perhaps a little career rehab wouldn't do much harm either. His father has credited Jake for helping him through troubled times before like when Gary almost died from a motorcycle accident and bounced in and out of addiction spells. Now it maybe dad's turn to take care of his son. One can only hope that father and son make it to the other side alright.

Gary Busey has to be the strangest winning project manager in the history of The Apprentice, right? He’s certainly the only one to abandon tasks to play catch and praise another team member for taking a nap mid-challenge. It’s all funny in retrospect after you win, I guess, especially when it’s a goddamn landslide.

This week’s challenge was to show off Camping World RVs to perspective buyers. The boys went with the massive, tour bus-looking choice, and the ladies settled on the smaller, more family friendly option. Female project manager Niki Taylor assigned each of her team members a room to decorate, though that didn’t stop human snail Dionne Warwick from bitching, arguing and backhandedly putting quotes around the term “project manager” when she used it in interviews.

The boys may not have been anymore cohesive, but after both Richard Hatch and Mark McGrath took it upon themselves to privately call landscaping services to get discounted greenery installed around the entirety of their RV, the challenge was pretty much over. Throw in an original song from John Rich with background vocals from Meatloaf, and the boys bested the girls in nearly every area of the challenge except interior decorating and product knowledge. The largely unsung LaToya Jackson was the lone bright spot for the ladies as she memorized loads of little facts about the RV and properly implemented them during the guided tour. If these subtle little touches are her niche, she needs to roll with them.

After Trump selected team Busey as the clear winner, the boardroom seemed to be setting itself up for a Niki/ Dionne showdown with a random third party along for the ride, but surprisingly, Niki told the Donald the loss was her fault, she was the project manager and she was willing to accept the consequences. One has to admire a willingness to lay in the bed you made, but at the same time, Niki had a lot left in the tank to offer this competition. Dionne is not going to win, and I would have really liked to see the model stay and fight for her charity. I guess that’s mute now.

The Celebrity Apprentice Power Rankings are an averaging of ordered lists put together by Cinema Blend writers Mack Rawden and Jessica Grabert. Each competitor is judged according to previous performances, as well as long-term prospects to win. A first place vote nets the player sixteen points, while this week, a last place vote was awarded four. Three competitors have gone home already; so, they automatically occupy the bottom slots. Here’s a look at this week’s order…

The Favorites

#1) John Rich (31): Another week, another successful performance from the country singer. It started out a little shaky after he got into a heated (and possibly unnecessary) argument with Jose Canseco and Richard Hatch over the intelligence level of his fans, but it’s unclear whether he may have let it go had cameras not been around. I can’t imagine his followers would have been too pleased to hear a slandering of their education greeted with tacit support from John Rich. After that though, it was all smooth sailing, as he partnered with Meatloaf to sing an original composition for Camping World and did much of the heavy lifting when the team assembled their equipment.

#2) Mark McGrath (30): Mark was a rock this week—and I’m not leaning toward dumb as a rock. He was steadfast and unmovable throughout the various stressors he faced, and there were stressors. Garey Busey proved he could not manage and at one point promised both Mark and Richard the same budget money for trees. While annoyed, Mark handled the situation gracefully and moved on. Later in the challenge, Mark also proved he has random skills as a salesperson. Hearing him chant, “It’s affordable, convenient, and fun,” with enthusiasm was almost creepy, as if there were a ventriloquist hiding out in the wings somewhere to speak for him; all in all, the performance was effective, and it moved Mark up in the rankings this week.

#3) Richard Hatch (28): Like Mark, Richard also ran into some problems with the whole Busey miscue over the budget for trees, but the important part here is they both took the initiative to outfit their RV with lots and lots of green. That was the single biggest edge the boys had. That two of their team members were all over it from jump street is a testament to just how well the team performed as a whole. After a first week loss in which Richard was rude but largely effective, he’s really morphed himself into an effective team player. We’ll see if this passive, yet competent and firm demeanor becomes his calling card or is just a brief aside to more power grabs.

#4) Marlee Matlin (26): Marlee needs to be less diplomatic. She’s a strong, smart competitor, but after Lisa was sent home, she’s chilled out on her criticisms. This week, Marlee was willing to discuss Dionne’s shortcomings, but she only skirted around the issues rather than being totally up front about them. If she figures out how to delegate, it seems like Marlee could go far. She’s respected, she’s tough, and she’s likeable. She often has good ideas, as long as you aren’t asking her to decorate tents with American flags. Her biggest problem is that she is sometimes spoken over and sometimes unclear. Again, this will come back to her ability to delegate. She will have to dominate the room as project manager to keep her place in these raucous rankings.

#5) Star Jones (23): As Nene humorously pointed out this week, Star is going to be Star. She just can’t help herself. She’s too strong and assertive to differ, even when the situation might call for taking a backseat. That aggressiveness should propel the girls to a few random victories when she calls bullshit on a project going haywire, but it may also send her home if her teammates and the Donald view it as meddling. I can’t shake the feeling she’s going to end up finishing fourth or fifth in an epic boardroom where the entire team collectively points the finger at her selfishness.

The Contenders

#6) Nene Leakes (22): Nene showed an ability to speak out during the boardroom last week. This week, she was much stronger vocally. She also spent the entire challenge micro-managing Dionne, which should have helped Niki. Nene speaks up and is patient when she needs to be, but her strengths so far have come from her ability to use her mouth. As far as her ability to work hard goes, I haven’t really seen it. This could have to do with what the camera shows audiences each week, or it could just be Nene being Nene. As she said about Dionne, “When I’m seventy I don’t want to work either.” She isn’t seventy, but god knows what her work ethic as a forty-something is.

#7) Lil Jon (20): Lil Jon essentially had a two-fold role this week. First, he listened to poor Mark McGrath freak out about how incompetent and lazy the leadership was. Second, he pissed off Gary something fierce in the boardroom. When asked who the weakest player on the team was, Mr. Busey pointed the finger toward Lil Jon. It was somewhat comical and completely unfair, especially since Jose literally took a nap during the challenge, but there’s no point in assigning motivations to Gary’s behavior. Lil Jon was hardly an ace in the hole this week, but he pulled his weight. Whether he can do the same whenever he steps up as project manager is still anyone’s guess.

#8) Meatloaf (19): Meatloaf was mostly a non-factor during the camping challenge, though he didn’t exactly win himself any points after he didn’t have any idea what was inside the RV compartments. Of all the competitors, he seems the most relaxed and down to Earth, which makes him ideal to hang out with but perhaps less than willing to access the inner douche bag needed to facilitate a long run. That’s not to say I think he’ll go home next week. When you’re not the project manager, if you work hard and achieve even reasonably in these early rounds, there will always be someone who screws up more, but once the field is whittled away, Meatloaf may be in trouble when he’s forced to throw other competitors under the bus for slight infractions.

The Dark Horses

#9) Hope Dworaczyk (16): Hope may be the smartest foolish person I’ve ever watched on television. She’s quiet, she keeps to herself, she avoids drama, and she does what is tasked to her. If she keeps this strategy up and gains some confidence before she takes project manager, she could do pretty well. However, when Hope does get solo camera time, she often makes obvious or ill-informed comments. This week she couldn’t figure out whether we live in the 20th or 21st century. Hope is our wild card. She has some spunk and she’s played innocuous so far, but it's impossible to guess how this competition could turn out for her. Sounds about right for a former playmate of the year.

#10) Gary Busey (14): Gary Busey was project manager this week and his team came out on top. I say team rather than Gary because Gary failed as a project manager. If he didn’t have capable workers around him to lend him ideas and take initiative on their own, this challenge would have been a disaster. At one point, Gary sat in a chair with Jose Conseco for hours, leaving Mark McGrath to do virtually all of the work at the RV station. Gary has no idea how to compete in Celebrity Apprentice. This week, Trump called him "mentally tough." Mentally tough doesn't necessarily include an aptitude for competing in a business setting. Unfortunately for Gary, his biggest strength lies in the fact he’s amusing to have around.

#11) LaToya Jackson (13): LaToya Jackson came out of the woodwork with a moderate level of competence this week. Though she was dressed completely inappropriately to sell family-oriented RVs, she listened when lectured to by the Camping World representative, and she applied the knowledge she accrued to the tours she gave. If the women had any strength this week, it stemmed from LaToya. Her work was an absolute surprise, and it moved her up a few positions in the rankings. It’s still rather up in the air if she will be capable of leading or is better as the loyal-puppy figure on the team.

#12) Jose Canseco (10): What do you say about a behemoth of a man that sat around napping and twiddling his thumbs while there was equipment to unload? And how do you even complain about said man when his boss, the project manager, told everyone who would listen he was doing a great job? Both Jose and Gary are extremely lucky the men won this week. At one point, Mark McGrath even filmed them playing baseball rather than working, but at the end of the day, if your team gets the job done, there’s no finger-pointing required. Jose needs a big effort this week or he might end up grounding out in the boardroom.

#13) Dionne Warwick (8): Dealing with Dionne Warwick is like dealing with a cranky two year-old who has missed her nap. Like a two year-old, Warwick is selfish, she will not share, and any time she wants to make a point she will state it bluntly and often illogically. Every family has an older person who has sort of thrown all of the life lessons they’ve learned to the wind; and Dionne Warwick is it for the Celebrity Apprentice family. Or, maybe she’s always been this stubborn. Either way, Celebrity Apprentice is a competition that gauges contestants’ abilities to work as part of a team and to sometimes earn respect from other contestants by leading efficiently. Dionne Warwick may be able to belt out demands, but she’s a far cry from having her shit together on this show. She’s stuck around because of the mistakes of others.
