Zootopia 2 was a massive hit, and combined with a teasing post-credits scene, that all but guarantees more in this franchise down the road. While we expect the sequel to include birds, it will certainly also include a new chapter in the relationship between lead characters Nick Wilde and Judy Hopps, and it’s a relationship that a lot of fans are concerned about.

Needless to say that, even after the first Zootopia, the “shippers” were out in full force. The expansion of the Nick and Judy relationship in Zootopia 2 was like catnip for the group that wants to see the pair get together romantically despite the difference in species. Co-director of both Zootopia movies, Byron Howard, recently admitted to ScreenRant that the team who made the sequel discussed the status of the pairing at great length while producing the film, and confirmed there are certainly elements of a strong bond between Nick and Judy, saying:

It’s hard to argue that Zootopia 2 doesn’t tease the audience with a “will they/won’t they” sort of dynamic. Near the end of the film, the two characters have a heartfelt moment where Nick starts to talk about how important Judy is to him, and in any other movie, that sort of scene spills over into a declaration of love. However, in Zootopia 2, it stops short of going that far.

Howard is clear that, at least right now, there is no romance between Nick and Judy. However, he stops short of indicating that might never be the case, and he refuses to say how he personally feels about such an idea. He continued:

Byron Howard’s response here is brilliant. The idea of a Nick and Judy romance is a somewhat controversial one. The characters are different species, which means that, if nothing else, putting them together romantically runs the risk of looking quite strange on screen. It would weird out a lot of fans. At the same time, a lot of fans are absolutely here for it.

If Howard gave any sort of definitive answer to this question, if he guaranteed it would never happen, or even fully endorsed it, it would turn off a certain segment of the audience. There’s basically no right answer here. So, he gives an answer that avoids answering the question, leaving the door open.

If I were to guess, I’d expect any future Zootopia movies to continue what we saw in Zootopia 2, a deep and meaningful platonic relationship between the two that never crosses the line into romance on screen, but still leaves a door open for fans who want to imagine something more. You weirdos.

The thing that makes many theme park attractions great is that they allow guests to experience their favorite movies in a way that’s far more immersive than anything we could see on a screen. Of course, one then has to wonder what it’s like for somebody who was actually in the movie to begin with. Now we know after Ke Huy Quan’s recent trip to Disneyland with his Zootopia 2 co-star Ginnifer Goodwin.

Quan and Goodwin previously appeared in a Disney Parks Instagram video revealing that the Zootopia character Clawhauser was being added to photo ops at Disney California Adventure. A new video just dropped that shows that the pair also made it over to Disneyland, and went on the Indiana Jones Adventure attraction, one of the best Disneyland rides, together, and Ke Huy Quan even brought the right hat for the ride. Check it out.

I love everything about this, and I have to believe Dr. Jones would also approve. The only disappointing part is that “Short Round” didn’t wear his hat during the ride. I’m sure the Cast Member told him to remove it so it wouldn’t fall off during the attraction, but it’s just not quite as fun.

Until Ke Huy Quan made his return to the screen in Everything Everywhere All At Once, he was likely best known for his role as Indiana Jones' sidekick in Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom. It’s still a memorable performance and one of the highlights of an underrated Indiana Jones film.

Quan and Goodwin are apparently playing a “game” where they’re not supposed to react throughout the ride. Guests are part of an expedition that enters the Temple of the Forbidden Eye, after Indiana Jones had already done so, but had not returned. The ride vehicles come face to face with snakes, bugs, poison darts, and more, while also spying Indy at various points on the attraction.

Quan apparently loses the “game” because he admits he did react when a jet of compressed air, meant to simulate a dart being fired from a wall, hit him in the head. If you don’t know it’s there, it’s difficult not to react to it when you’re hit by a blast of air from the side.

While Short Round may not be part of the Indiana Jones Adventure at Disneyland, there’s always a chance that he might appear in the new attraction. A new Indiana Jones ride, which is set to use the same ride design as the Disneyland version but tell a new story, is set to replace Dinosaur at Disney’s Animal Kingdom as part of the new Tropical Americas land. That transformation is set to begin early next year. Hopefully, Quan will return with his hat to ride it.

Back in 2016, Disney introduced us to rabbit police officer Judy Hopps and the sly con artist fox Nick Wilde in Zootopia. The animated buddy cop movie was a hit — it even won an Oscar — and nearly a decade later, the unlikely partners are back, with the sequel Zootopia 2 hitting the 2025 movie calendar just in time for Thanksgiving. Critics were able to screen the new kids movie ahead of its release to help you decide if it’s worth carving time out of your holiday weekend for.

Ginnifer Goodwin and Jason Bateman have returned as the leading duo, along with several others who previously voiced the titular city’s residents. Some big names have also joined the world, including Ke Huy Quan as Gary De'Snake, a viper who Nick and Judy are investigating. In the CinemaBlend review of Zootopia 2, Dirk Libbey says the sequel is bigger and better in every way, providing a simple but fun story. He gives it 4 out of 5 stars, writing:

Nell Minow of RogerEbert.com rates Zootopia 2 a perfect 4 out of 4 stars, saying that Disney magic radiates from every texture and movement, and the brilliant details and visual easter eggs will warrant repeat viewings. The critic continues:

Frank Scheck of THR agrees with other critics in saying you’ll have to watch this sequel more than once to appreciate all of the details woven into this world. The movie is one hysterical gag after another featuring its delightful animal characters. Scheck says:

Clint Gage of IGN rates Zootopia 2 a “Great” 8 out of 10 for its gorgeous animation, great pacing and animal puns. It also brought out a range of emotions in his children. The critic concludes:

Jake Coyle of the AP gives the movie 2.5 out of 4 stars, bluntly saying that the sequel does not reach the heights of the original and calling it “more timid and tame.” It leans possibly too much on the chemistry between Judy and Nick, but that will definitely be enough to entertain families this holiday weekend and beyond. In the critic’s words:

The consensus amongst critics is mostly positive, as they declare Zootopia 2 worth the nearly decade-long wait — while expressing hope that the next offering in the franchise doesn’t take as long. The movie currently holds a 92% critics score on Rotten Tomatoes and is in theaters now.

There is a great deal of evolution involved when it comes to movies developed by Walt Disney Animation Studios. Part of the creative process by the filmmakers is to repeatedly construct and deconstruct ideas until the best path forward is uncovered and pursued. In the modern era of the studio, the approach has produced a terrific track record when it comes to what’s brought to the big screen, but an interesting side effect is wondering about the versions of any given title that didn’t move forward. In the case of Zootopia 2, there exists a question concerning the time gap between the sequel and its predecessor.

In the long-awaited follow-up, audiences are reunited with protagonists Judy Hopps (Ginnifer Goodwin) and Nick Wilde (Jason Bateman) in the immediate aftermath of their successful exposure of corruption at City Hall, but that wasn’t always the approach that the sequel was going to take. Speaking with Goodwin this past weekend during the Los Angeles press day for Zootopia 2, she told me that there was a version of the 2025 movie that executed a time jump. The actress explained,

The initial story instinct is entirely understandable. The first Zootopia was released nine years ago, and there is a logic in having the characters age along with the audience. If this were a live-action series, such a move would actually be necessary just to explain why the actors are older… but Zootopia 2 being an animated feature didn’t have to contend with that restriction, and it was ultimately felt that it wasn’t the best approach for the storytelling.

Executing a time jump would have meant adding in a lot of exposition explaining how the lives of the characters and their world has changed, and as Ginnifer Goodwin noted, there was a richer path to explore by picking up where the first movie ended:

In Zootopia 2, Nick and Judy are officially working as partners for the Zootopia Police Department, and things get dramatic quickly as snake sighting reports open the door to investigating a conspiracy regarding the founding of the city. In addition to returning stars Ginnifer Goodwin, Jason Bateman, Idris Elba and Shakira, the talented cast also includes Ke Huy Quan, Fortune Feimster, Andy Samberg, David Straithairn, Patrick Warburton and Quinta Brunson.

Ginnifer Goodwin has a stacked resume for the large and small screens alike, ranging from Zootopia and Walk the Line in film to Why Women Kill and Big Love on TV. For some, however, Goodwin will be best remembered for playing Snow White for six full seasons of Once Upon a Time opposite Josh Dallas as Prince Charming and Jennifer Morrison as their daughter. That show ended with a whimper rather than a bang back in 2018, but what about a reboot for beyond the 2024 TV schedule? Goodwin shared her thoughts.

Ahead of the Zootopia 2 release date, Ginnifer Goodwin reflected back on her Once Upon a Time princess days while speaking with People.

Once Upon a Time was created for ABC by Edward Kitsis and Adam Horowitz, who weren't shocked when word came that the show would end with Season 7. The seventh season was already a reboot of sorts, with most of the series regulars from the first six seasons – including Ginnifer Goodwin – absent. Goodwin did return for what was ultimately the series finale.

Of course, her time on Once Upon a Time had a massive influence on her personal life thanks to a fairy tale twist. Goodwin is married to Josh Dallas in real life, so the love story on screen in OUAT was reflected by the stars. The actress went on:

I think it's safe to say that plenty of Once Upon a Time fans would be happy to see an update on Snow and Charming in the form of a reboot, particularly since attempts at casting Ginnifer Goodwin in Josh Dallas' Manifest never worked out. The actress is certainly still connected to Disney, as she is reprising her animated role of Judy Hopps for the sequel to Zootopia. Why not add a bit of Snow White at some point? Interest in the character may be higher than usual over the next year with the release of the live-action Snow White movie in 2025.

Whether or not a reboot happens for Snow and Charming to return to the small screen, it's not hard to revisit the original run of Once Upon a Time with the right streaming subscriptions. You can find all seven seasons streaming with a Hulu subscription, and all seven seasons plus the Once Upon a Time in Wonderland spinoff with a Disney+ subscription.

Somewhat hilariously – to me, anyway – are the genres used on Disney+ to describe the series: "soap operas" and "fantasy." I don't think fantasy could be disputed by anybody who watches even a single episode of the fairy tale TV show, but I'm not sure I expected an official description to acknowledge just how soapy Once Upon a Time could get, for better or worse.

Manifest aired its series finale over a month ago, and while there was a lot that the series covered and answered, there were definitely still a few things missing from the show’s final season. On top of the fact that the finale opened up another 828 mystery, proving that the plane’s story will never fully be concluded, the show also almost included a Once Upon a Time reunion, and we really were robbed of what could have been.

Before Josh Dallas was Ben Stone, one of the 828 passengers and co-captain of the Lifeboat in the cast of Manifest, the actor portrayed Prince Charming/David on ABC’s beloved fairytale series Once Upon a Time. Even though the show was about a fantasy world, one fairytale actually did come to life when Dallas met and married his on-screen Snow White, Ginnifer Goodwin. The two are still going strong, and they have two kids. While they haven't appeared on screen together in a while, it turns out the actors behind Snow and Charming could have come back, albeit in a different way, on Manifest.

Back in 2019, Ginnifer Goodwin was asked if she would ever want to guest star on her husband’s show, and she was enthusiastic about the possibility, saying that she “would love to.” While it seemed like there was potential to have Goodwin guest star on Manifest during Season 2, it never came about. Flash-forward four years and two more seasons, and it unfortunately never happened. Josh Dallas told TVLine that it just wasn’t in the cards:

While it is a disappointment that Ginnifer Goodwin was never able to guest star on Manifest, at least they tried. 

It would have been amazing if she did guest star, though. I would have loved to see her as either a passenger, colleague, or maybe a long-lost love of Ben’s that would have further complicated his relationships with Grace or Saanvi. 

Just because Ginnifer Goodwin wasn’t able to appear on Manifest, it doesn’t mean she’s not a fan. Josh Dallas admitted that his wife is actually a big Manifester, which sometimes doesn’t work well when it comes to watching the Netflix series:

It must be hard to live with someone who knows all of the secrets of a TV show and isn’t allowed to say anything, but it’s funny to know how Goodwin acts when she watches Manifest. Now that the final episodes have dropped, though, I wonder how she reacted when she got to the big Death Date twist, and what she said to Dallas after finding out about it. 

Even though Josh Dallas and Ginnifer Goodwin weren’t able to reunite on-screen in Manifest, hopefully, they are able to collaborate professionally soon. Personally, I'd love to see a Once Upon a Time reunion since the series ended in 2018, and it'd be amazing to return to the world of fantastical characters. While that's a far off fantasy, the entire show is available to stream with a Disney+ subscription, so fans can still see Charming and Snow together. You can also stream all of Manifest with a Netflix subscription while you dream about what could have been between the two actors on Dallas' other hit show. 

Ginnifer Goodwin made a name for herself on network TV thanks to her long-running role as Snow White on ABC's Once Upon a Time. Now, after a killer role on CBS All Access and a character on Netflix, Goodwin is returning to network television, but definitely not to play a princess. She's heading to Fox for a comedy pilot called Pivoting.

Pivoting will follow three women following the death of a best friend from childhood, according to Deadline, with Ginnifer Goodwin playing Jodie. Goodwin's Jodie is a mother of three children, but her family life isn't altogether happy. Her husband is overbearing and unwilling to let her be herself, and she was brought up by an overprotective mom. How she handles the aftermath of Coleen's death probably won't make her family life any better!

Jodie will have an affair with her gym trainer, which delivers the kinds of excitement and attention that she wanted. Her realization than life is short drove her to make some bad decisions that seem pretty shortsighted. That said, she won't be the only one making these kinds of decisions, and the bond between Jodie, Amy, and Sarah will grow even stronger.

Ginnifer Goodwin will co-lead Pivoting, opposite Eliza Coupe of Happy Endings fame as Amy. Sarah seemingly has not been cast yet, but Tommy Dewey of The Mindy Project has joined the cast. While the project is a comedy, there are seemingly some dramatic notes to the premise, so I have to wonder if Pivoting will be a bit of a dramedy rather than just 100% comedy. After years on Once Upon a Time, Goodwin proved that she can tackle pretty much any kind of genre combination.

Pivoting is in the pilot stage, so there are no guarantees that Ginnifer Goodwin will return to TV as part of an ongoing series just yet, not least because of current events. The project hails from writer Liz Astrof, known for her work on The King of Queens, Two Broke Girls, and The Conners. The pilot will be directed by Tristram Shapeero, who has helmed episodes of Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, Superstore, and Speechless, among many others.

When the project landed at Fox back in November 2019, Deadline described Pivoting as "a half-hour single-camera comedy" about tragedy, set in a middle-class small town in Long Island where three grieving childhood friends go against the advice of psychologists and make some big decisions while mourning.

While TV production still seems largely at a halt, Fox has already announced plans for the 2020-2021 TV season, so more news about Pivoting may continue to break, especially with more major roles to be cast. I'm guessing that Ginnifer Goodwin's real-life husband won't get to play her on-screen spouse again like on Once Upon a Time, given his own busy schedule over on NBC!

Cherry is back with a bullet (or maybe a butcher knife) with CBS All Access' Why Women Kill, a sublimely wicked mystery thriller anchored by the fabulous trio of Once Upon a Time vet Ginnifer Goodwin, Lucy Liu (Elementary), and Kirby Howell-Baptiste (Killing Eve). Come for the star-studded cast, but stay for the endless nuances embedded within the three different timelines.

If you've ever wondered what it would be like if Ginnifer Goodwin and Parenthood's Sam Jaeger led a Donna Reed Show reboot stricken with adultery, sexual longing and gossipy neighbors, then Why Women Kill is probably for you.

If you've ever fantasized about Lucy Liu having access to exquisite dialogue equalled by dazzling Dynasty-esque wardrobe, while engaged in a rocky marriage with a sexually more-than-curious Jack Davenport (Smash), then Why Women Kill is probably for you.

If you've ever wanted to explore the complex logistics of a polyamorous marriage between a bisexual woman (Kirby Howell-Baptiste) and a straight man (Veep's Reid Scott), complete with said woman's alluring-as-hell girlfriend (Baywatch's Alexandra Daddario), then Why Women Kill is probably for you.

Told across three different eras, Why Women Kill is centered within the same luxurious and sprawling abode that each decade's coupling – or tripling or whatever – lives in for a spell before someone's big death shakes up the community. Make no expectations about who will die or who or what will be the one doing the killing, and don't expect for the storylines' initial plot points to stay the same throughout the season. But do expect a ton of F-bombs delivered in signature ways.

1960s Ginnifer Goodwin Realizes Her Marriage Is A Charade

In the 1960s, the central house is owned by the overly doting housewife Beth Ann (Goodwin) and the stereotypical husband Rob (Sam Jaeger), who expects hot food on the table and complete naivety when it comes to his philandering. For years, Beth Ann was perfectly willing to settle into that cookie-cutter mold, but neighbors Sheila (Blood & Treasure's Alicia Coppola) and Leo (Nurse Jackie's Adam Ferrara) spark a progressive drive within her to fight for what she wants.

What she wants, though, is anyone's guess. Especially considering Beth Ann's questionable actions towards diner waitress April, portrayed by Mom's Sadie Calvano. As seen in the trailers and other promotional material, April and Rob are... Well, they're in a way that doesn't do Beth Ann's self-worth or sexual satisfaction any good, that's for sure.

Watching Beth Ann's seemingly pristine world get soured is enormously engaging, especially with Ginnifer Goodwin as this glorious ball of pent-up and tightly wound emotions that all appear ready to snap in 17 different directions. I pity the fool(s) who gets in the way of her swinging pearls.

1980s Lucy Liu Is The Center Of Attention, Though Mostly Her Own

If Why Women Kill would have kicked off its anthology format by focusing this first season solely on the relationship between Lucy Liu's upper-crust prize Simone and Jack Davenport's delightfully drippy Karl, it would have still gotten super-high marks from yours truly.

Simone feels like a role that Lucy Liu has been playing for years, so lived-in is the effortlessly chic character. When she walks into a room – which should always occur from atop an ornately decorated staircase – she becomes the reason why the room existed in the first place. Even if some around her aren't so overwhelmingly taken by Simone's blind privilege and ego, viewers no doubt will be.

Who can deny the power of Lucy Liu slam-dunking a line like this:

Or this:

You can literally hear the exclamation marks coming out of Simone's mouth as her rage at Karl gets transformed into transmittable language. Their relationship, which also incorporates an extremely younger man named Tommy (Santa Clarita Diet's Leo Howard), is the most tumultuous of the early Why Women Kill episodes that were given to critics, adding to its watchability in spades.

2018's Kirby Howell-Baptiste Tests The Boundaries Of Marital Freedom

The core feelings from each timeline are completely universal for present-day audiences, but there's no denying the relationship between Kirby Howell-Baptiste's Taylor and Reid Scott's Eli is the most modern-day angle on marriages gone awry. A lawyer, Taylor is the breadwinner of the pair, with Eli as a between-jobs writer. Taylor is also the more assertive of the two when seeking passion outside the marriage.

Enter Alexanda Daddario's Jade, a down-on-her-luck soul that takes up temporary shelter within Taylor and Eli's gigantic house. Secrets are revealed, secrets are created, and I'm sure there's a third and fourth thing done with secrets, too.

Taylor and Eli come across as the happiest couple when Why Women Kill kicks off, from an emotional perspective, from a sexual well-being perspective, from a communication perspective, etc. Not that they necessarily are the healthiest pairing within Why Women Kill, but they appear that way, which definitely counts for something in Marc Cherry's universe. (Probably that their fall will be that much harder.)

Why Women Kill Is A Treat For All The Appropriate Senses

While there is certainly the slim chance that Why Women Kill will go off the rails in a negative way as Season 1 continues, Marc Cherry and this impeccable cast set things up so magnificently that it's hard to deduce where the downfall could even begin.

The three timelines are extremely distinct, to the point where viewers may find themselves forgetting that the three couples are living within in the same walls. Such timeline immersion has a lot to do with those responsible for the expertly dressed sets and actors. Ginnifer Goodwin's outfits look like they were just ordered from a catalog via a rotary-dial phone, and Simone's showy decorating had me, as a viewer, paranoid that I would break something I couldn't afford.

Why Women Kill is also instantly rewatchable due to the darkly comedic writing, which retains genuine emotion even as it puts its characters through howl-worthy situations that would floor normal people. Even the 2018 sections, which can't get as folksy or flamboyant as the others, stands apart from other modern shows with the same overt sexiness and genre-bending mentality.

I can't very well say that Why Women Kill will attract every TV viewer who comes across it, but it's absolutely the next logical step in Marc Cherry's creative journey. With such enjoyably brilliant performances from Lucy Liu and the rest of the cast, the juicy storytelling becomes that much more engrossing, and the ten-episode season will certainly under-stay its welcome, if anything. Count me on the Season 2 bandwagon already, whatever it looks like.

Everyone who remembers Ginnifer Goodwin as Once Upon a Time's sweet and tough Snow White has been waiting for her to show up on the small screen again as a series regular. Well, her new CBS All Access show, Why Women Kill, will debut soon, but she might not be quite so sweet anymore. Take a look:

WOW. Alright, there's a lot going on in that trailer, but, unfortunately, it looks like most of it won't be uplifting in any kind of fairy tale, happy ending way. With that said, though, it does look like Ginnifer Goodwin, Lucy Liu and Kirby Howell-Baptiste (The Good Place, Veronica Mars) are going to help serve up some major drama that will be worthy of appointment viewing once Why Women Kill debuts.

Why Women Kill, which comes from Desperate Housewives creator Marc Cherry, is described as being a "darkly comedic drama" and we can certainly get a good look at the tone of the show from the very beginning of the trailer. When Goodwin's character, Beth Ann, reveals to her seemingly sweet husband that she's been "wondering when you'll die," it strikes just the note to tell us that this is going to be a very different kind of show.

As you can also see from the trailer, Why Women Kill will focus on Beth Ann (Goodwin), Simone (Liu) and Taylor (Howell-Baptiste) in three different time periods as they deal with infidelity in their marriages. Beth Ann is a determined housewife in the '60, Simone is an '80s socialite and Taylor is a lawyer trying to figure out her open marriage in 2018. In another twist on cheating tales, these women all live in the same home in their separate time periods, which is giving me freaky American Horror Story: Murder House vibes, for sure.

Obviously, getting cheated on sucks in any time period, and most of us can probably already guess why these ladies will want to kill. But, will they really all kill their no good, dirty, cheating spouses? We absolutely see someone end up in a body bag, and Beth Ann's husband seems to take a nasty tumble through the glass shower door, but does he die from the fall and does she push him? I'm going to guess that Beth Ann doesn't have the same training as Snow, so she might not be strong enough to have made that happen. Of course, I've heard that getting angry can do wonders for one's strength, so we shall see...

Why Women Kill also stars Sam Jaeger as Beth Ann's husband Rob, Jack Davenport as Simone's two-secret-having husband Karl and Reid Scott as Taylor's husband Eli, and it seems like they will all, at the very least, have some serious hurt put on them for betraying their wives.

Anyone else miss the heck out of Once Upon a Time? Ginnifer Goodwin and Josh Dallas met making the ABC fairy tale series, falling in love on and off screen as Snow White and Prince Charming. After seven seasons, Once ended in 2018. Now Dallas stars as Ben Stone on the NBC mystery series Manifest. Goodwin has been busy with several projects -- from episodes of The Twilight Zone and Heartstrings to her new role on CBS All Access' Why Women Kill. But she sounded very enthusiastic when asked if there's a chance she'd appear alongside her husband on Manifest:

Yes! I'm all about a Snowing reunion, even if it's just via Manifest's ill-fated Flight 828. That's not the only way Manifest Season 2 could find a role for Ginnifer Goodwin. TVLine noted that Ginny will be free this fall, once she's finished shooting CBS All Access’ Why Women Kill.

Manifest Season 1 had 16 episodes, and I can imagine Season 2 finding room to give her more than a cameo or a guest appearance. She could maybe even have a recurring role? That's me being selfish as a fan of the Big Love actress, while also wanting to see both Ginnifer Goodwin and Josh Dallas on screen together again.

Back in February 2019, before NBC officially renewed Manifest for Season 2, Josh Dallas told Page Six "it's possible" Ginnifer Goodwin could guest star in the future.

There was nothing planned at the time, but now that we know Manifest Season 2 is in the works, and Ginnifer Goodwin would love to make an appearance, why not make it happen?

Back in January, while promoting Manifest on Today, Josh Dallas did a lot of gushing about his former co-star wife, also mother to their two children:

Ginnifer Goodwin had a regular presence in primetime for the better part of a decade thanks to Once Upon a Time, but her next lead role will definitely not be Snow White. Goodwin stars in the upcoming CBS All Access series Why Women Kill, and there probably won't be any poisoned apples doing the dirty deeds. Now, CBS All Access has announced when Why Women Kill will premiere. Ginnifer Goodwin's new series debuts in August.

Yes, Why Women Kill premieres on Thursday, August 15 on CBS' streaming service. Unlike new series that premiere on Netflix, the full first season won't be immediately available. Each episode of the ten-part season will be available on demand on a weekly basis with Thursday releases. On the one hand, that means no binge-watching if you want to watch from the very beginning. On the other hand, that means the killer entertainment won't be done within ten consecutive hours!

Why Women Kill is a darkly comedic drama that stars Lucy Liu (Elementary) and Kirby Howell-Baptiste (The Good Place) as well as Ginnifer Goodwin. The show will tell the stories of three women living in three different eras: a housewife in the 1960s, a socialite in the 1980s, and a lawyer in 2019. The women have one thing in common: they must deal with infidelity in their marriage. Viewers will see how the roles of woman may have changed over time, but their reactions to being betrayed have remained the same.

CBS All Access hasn't released much in the way of details about the characters, but the image alone is a pretty obvious sign that Ginnifer Goodwin will be playing the 1960s housewife. A previous description names her as "Beth Ann," and she wears a mask of cheer and warmth to hide the pain of her failing marriage.

Beth Ann becomes determined to investigate the details of her husband's affair, and the process will end with a change of perspective that shifts her entire life. Will it also end with a dead husband? And what of the other two women in the show?

I think it's probably pretty safe to say that Lucy Liu will be playing the socialite based on that 80s-tastic look she's sporting in the promo photo. Her character will be Simone, who is described as "elegant, stylish," and "effervescent." Appearance is everything to Simone, and she appears quite happy as she spends her time shopping, throwing parties, and overall treating the world like a movie starring her.

Unfortunately, Simone learns that husband Karl has been cheating on her, and the title of the show indicates that she's probably not going to just let bygones be bygones. Lucy Liu seems to have ditched the blonde tresses that she wore for the final season of Elementary. Simone will evidently have dark hair. Now, what about the third leading lady of Why Women Kill?

By process of elimination (and based on the contemporary look in the promo pic), Kirby Howell-Baptiste's character will be the 2019 lawyer. This character will be named Taylor. Fiercely intelligent, Taylor has a sensitive side that she doesn't often show, and she's quite protective of husband Eli. She's openly bisexual, and she and Eli enjoy an open marriage that is seemingly working just fine.

I'm going to go ahead and assume that the open marriage isn't working just fine, but we'll have to wait and see what happens. While the August 15 premiere date for CBS All Access means that Why Women Kill isn't exactly right around the corner, at least it is a definitive date. For the next couple of months, TV fans can fill their time with other summer viewing options.

Snow White is back -- with a vengeance! Once Upon a Time star Ginnifer Goodwin has joined Lucy Liu in the cast of Why Women Kill, which will be premiering on the CBS All Access streaming service. She'll play one of the leads in the drama/comedy from Desperate Housewives creator Marc Cherry.

Why Women Kill will follow three women in three different decades -- a housewife in the 1960s (that's Ginnifer Goodwin's character), a socialite in the 1980s (to be played by Lucy Liu), and a lawyer in 2018 (star not revealed yet). All of the women will be dealing with infidelity in their marriages. The series will explore how the roles of women may have changed over time, but their reactions to betrayal have not.

Uh oh. This dark look into a marriage sounds very different from the fairy tale love story of Ginnifer Goodwin and former Once Upon a Time co-star Josh Dallas. They met as Snow White and Prince Charming on that ABC series, fell in love on screen and off, and now have two kids together. He's busy keeping us speculating on NBC's Manifest, and she's been busy with several projects.

In addition to this new lead role, Ginnifer Goodwin will be in Netflix’s Dolly Parton’s Heartstrings, and the Big Love alum will also appear in an episode of Jordan Peele's The Twilight Zone. Plus, it's possible she'll be bringing her Judy Hopps back for another Zootopia movie (or two?).

Ginnifer Goodwin was a regular presence on the small screen for years thanks to her role as Snow White on ABC's Once Upon a Time, and her departure (combined with many others of the original cast) marked the end of an era for that series. Now, Goodwin has signed on for a new role on a new show, and she won't be playing a fairy tale princess this time around. She landed a role in Netflix's upcoming Dolly Parton's Heartstrings.

Yes, you read that correctly! Netflix has a show in the works with the unlikely title of Dolly Parton's Heartstrings. The project is slated to be an anthology series with episodes inspired by Dolly Parton's music. The first season will consist of eight episodes and adapt "stories, memories and inspirations behind Parton's most beloved songs," according to TVLine. Ginnifer Goodwin landed a lead role in one chapter of the anthology.

The episode featuring Ginnifer Goodwin is called "These Old Bones," and she'll play a Washington D.C. lawyer by the name of Genevieve. She leaves D.C. behind and heads to her hometown in the Smoky Mountains, determined to prove that she has what it takes as a lawyer. Given that the setting is the 1940s, it's no wonder she has her work cut out for her!

Genevieve will run into trouble when an old woman from the mountains with the reputation for telling fortunes gets mixed up in a lumber company's business. The woman is named Miss Mary Shaw, although she is known as "Old Bones." Her arrival will bring about secrets from days gone by that test Genevieve's faith. Old Bones will be played by Kathleen Turner.

Kyle Bornheimer of Casual will play a character known as Landon, although no details are currently available about his part in "These Old Bones." Now, Dolly Parton's Heartstrings is not an anthology like American Horror Story, which reuses the same actors for new parts on a regular basis. Ginnifer Goodwin is currently slated only to appear in "These Old Bones."

Interestingly, Dolly Parton herself will introduce each episode by sharing the meaning behind each song, so Dolly Parton fans will definitely want to tune in. Parton will appear in certain of the Heartstrings episodes, but viewers may need to wait until the show premieres to find out the particulars.

Ginnifer Goodwin's role in Dolly Parton's Heartstrings shouldn't be so major that it prevents her from working on other projects, and she had another show in the works as recently as June. She was slated to take part in an ABC comedy that was an English-language remake of a Swedish series. Only time will tell if anything comes of that.

The former Snow White's Prince Charming is doing quite well for himself on the small screen since the end of Once Upon a Time. Josh Dallas -- who is both Ginnifer Goodwin's real-life husband and played her fairy tale hubby on Once Upon a Time -- currently stars on NBC's smash freshman hit Manifest. Could Goodwin make an appearance someday and delight Once Upon a Time fans?

The only thing we can safely say for now is that Ginnifer Goodwin will make her Dolly Parton's Heartstrings debut when the show premieres on Netflix at some point in 2019. Dolly Parton-based projects have become huge hits on the small screen, so Heartstrings may prove to be a very sound investment from the streaming giant.

When Once Upon a Time Season 6 came to an end, Ginnifer Goodwin and her husband/co-star Josh Dallas were among the cast members who exited the show. Season 7 subsequently underwent a major retool that introduced many new characters. When news broke that the fantasy series would be ending, it wasn't long before Goodwin and Dallas confirmed they were returning for the finale, along with fellow original cast member Jennifer Morrison. The actress' finale filming confession to EW is a poignant reminder of how much a series can come to mean to its cast. Goodwin is an original cast member, who starred as Snow White for six seasons before leaving the show on a happy note ahead of Season 7. In a fun twist, Once Upon a Time hasn't played a role in just its characters getting their happy endings, though. It is also responsible for some of the cast's, including Goodwin's.

The two actors who portrayed Snow White and Prince Charming ended up finding love together in real life. Ginnifer Goodwin fell in love with her future husband Josh Dallas while filming Once Upon a Time, and the couple now has two children. Hopefully fans will get a chance to see their favorite Once Upon a Time characters live out similarly happy endings before the series ends.

Since leaving Once Upon a Time, Ginnifer Goodwin has filmed a pilot for an ABC comedy entitled Steps. Fans will have to stay tuned in order to see if it gets picked up. For now, the Once Upon a Time series finale is where you can catch the actress as she plays Snow White for the final time.

The two-part finale begins this coming Friday (May 11). So what should you expect? It seems the finale will bring fans back to the beginning with lots of hope for the future. Given the number of revivals recently, a trip back to Storybrooke wouldn't be entirely shocking. For now, though, the storybook has reached its final chapter.

With Once Upon A Time ending this year, many of the show's cast are beginning to find new projects following the Disney show's conclusion. Snow White actress Ginnifer Goodwin has decided that next step in her career will practically be just down the hall as she once again teams up with ABC for an exciting new project. Goodwin has been cast as the female lead in a new comedy pilot by the name of Steps, which takes the definition of a non-traditional family to the max.

Steps is a potential comedy series in which four adults living in three different houses take on raising three children that have come from their divorces with each other. Ginnifer Goodwin will join her first television comedy project as Bea, a modern hippie who's also a parent coach and seems like the best type of person to have in a situation like this. Bea will work with her new husband Paul, her ex-husband, and her ex-husband's ex-wife as they all try to raise these children that are intertwined into this unique situation. Bea is said to have a great ability to understand others, except the odd times where she completely misunderstands situations, which should lead to some great comedy.

Ginnifer Goodwin's casting in Steps puts her alongside fellow actor Barry Rothbart, whose co-starring role has yet to be identified. THR reports the comedy pilot hails from Kristin Newman, who has written for comedies like That '70s Show, Chuck, and The Real O'Neals. Newman will executive produce the project alongside Todd Holland, who will direct the pilot. Other executive producers on Steps include Mandeville TV's David Hoberman, Todd Lieberman and Laurie Zaks as well as FLX's Pontus Edgren and Felix Herngren.

Live-action comedy is a new avenue for Ginnifer Goodwin, but Steps isn't the first show where she's played a character dealing with an odd family situation. Goodwin played Margene Heffman on HBO's polygamist series Big Love and has had a solid career since then with her role as Snow White on Once Upon A Time and as the voice of Judy Hopps in Zootopia. There have been some very big pilot projects being tossed around this season, so there are no guarantees Steps will see its way to series. That said, one could speculate the show's unique concept will make it stand out a little more than other things that have been talked about so far during the current pilot season.

A while back, the first trailer for Zootopia gave us all a primer on what an anthropomorphic animal was. Our second look made the human DMV look down right speedy. While both were entertaining, they gave us relatively little regarding what the movie was actually about. Now, with the newest trailer, the plot and the characters are starting to fall into place, and it’s looking like another fun Disney movie. Check out the new trailer below.

The interesting premise of the world of Zootopia is that even though the world is inhabited by various animals that would, under other circumstances, eat each other, that apparently doesn’t happen here. Instead, predators and their prey eat at restaurants together, exactly, thouhg what they eat is not clear, and this latest trailer gives us a good look at the city, the way that the different animals live, and, most fun, the way that the animals of different sizes are all able to inhabit the same space comfortably.

Judy Hopps is the first rabbit on a police force that is full of tougher animals, much larger than she is. In the previous trailer, we were told that she only had a limited amount of time to solve her case, and now we understand that the reason for the artificial time limit is that she made a deal with the chief. If she doesn’t solve it she has to resign. It seems nobody on the force actually wants the "token bunny" around, so they set her up to fail. It’s hardly a new premise, but we’ve never seen it done by an animated rabbit before. Much like the "Mr. Big" joke at the end of the trailer, you saw it coming a mile away, but thanks to the premise it still feels new.

The film has a stellar cast, including Ginnifer Goodwin as Judy Hopps and Jason Bateman as Nick Wilde, the con artist fox who is also a material witness to the central crime. The credits also include Idris Elba, Alan Tudyk, and Shakira, who we also get our first look at in the trailer as the pop star Gazelle. This video also includes a new single from the singer that will be part of the soundtrack.

Disney is still the king of the animated film, and thouhg not everything is a Frozen-size smash, you can be fairly confident that you’re getting a solid family film to enjoy. This movie looks to have everything you’ve come to expect from the Mouse House: great visuals, some fun jokes, and possibly even some emotional moments that might have you checking your eyeballs for leaks.

Will Walt Disney Animation be able to top Frozen? It was a worldwide sensation that transformed "Let It Go" into the new "It's A Small World," and spawned a Frozen Fever short film, a sing-a-long theatrical release, and an upcoming Broadway adaptation. Zootopia probably won't be that big of a hit, but the studio just announced its voice cast, and we have high hopes.

The basic gist of Zootopia, helmed by directors Byron Howard and Rich Moore, is that it takes place in a world where animals walk, talk, and act like humans, and live in one of numerous cities, each pegged to a specific animal habitat. Once Upon A Time's Ginnifer Goodwin has been cast in the leading role of Judy Hopps, an optimistic bunny detective who must team up with a "cynical-con-artist fox" to crack her first case. Jason Bateman of Horrible Bosses and Arrested Development will voice said fox, named Nick Wilde. Hopps isn't necessarily all that pleased about teaming up with such a nefarious character, but since she's new to the city and finding that being a small bunny on a police force full of rough-and-tough animals isn't easy, she's eager to prove herself.

Director Byron Howard and writer Jared Bush came out to Disney's D23 Expo a couple of years ago to preview the film. Based on their intel, some of the other characters yet to be cast include a mega-pop star Gazelle who always seems to have her own agenda, a lot of simpleminded wildebeests, and at least one angry porcupine. The studio also released a few pieces of concept art to show off the excuberant world.

In addition to the voice cast, Zootopia flaunts a stunning animated world that we've never seen before. Disney describes the environment as a melting pot of habitats, which includes the ritzy Sahara Square, which houses the beautiful Oasis Hotel; the wintry Tundratown, for all the cold-weather animals; and Bunny Burrow, which, as the name implies, is filled with bunnies and cute instillations like the Rabbit Transit Train. Disney's animated offerings seem to focus on this element of world-building. As Inside Out's Peter Doctor put it, it's about creating something that's familiar but has never been seen before by an audience. He's accomplishing this with his latest Pixar film, while Disney's animation house will delve into this animal kingdom, as well as a Hawaiian adventure with Moana.

Zootopia is co-directed by Rich Moore from Wreck-It Ralph and is set for release on March 4, 2016.

Yesterday, we got our first look at Rob Lowe as President John F. Kennedy for National Geographic's adaptation of Bill O'Reilly and Martin Dugard's book Killing Kennedy. At that time, we were wondering when we'd get a peek at Once Upon a Time's Ginnifer Goodwin, who was cast to play the role of First Lady Jacqueline Kennedy in the TV movie set to debut later this year. We didn't have to wait long for it. Nat Geo passed that image along to us today, and you can check it out above.

Like Lowe's photo, there's sort of a portrait quality to Goodwin's, which shows her wearing what appears to be an elegant black dress and diamond earrings. While Lowe is looking down in his photo, Goodwin's has her looking up and outward. Both pictures make us wonder what they're thinking. It's going to be very exciting to see how Goodwin and Lowe tackle their respective iconic roles for this made-for-TV biopic.

Also among the cast is Michelle Trachtenberg, who's playing her first Russion-speaking role as Marina Oswald, the wife to Lee Harvey Oswald, the man who took the life of Kennedy in November of 1963. Production on the TV movie began this month in Richmond, Virginia. Killing Kennedy is directed by Nelson McCorrmick and is expected to air on National Geographic in November to coincide with the 50th anniversary of Kennedy's death.

National Geographic’s Killing Lincoln was a huge ratings success for the network, but even before the historical TV movie aired, Nat Geo had already greenlighted Killing Kennedy, a TV movie based on another presidential assassination. With production for the new movie set to begin in June, on Tuesday the network announced some of the big castings for Killing Kennedy.

First and foremost, Parks and Recreation’s Rob Lowe has signed on to play John F. Kennedy in the project, which is based on the bestselling book of the same name written by Bill O’Reilly and Martin Dugard. The film will take a look at Kennedy’s life leading up to the assassination, as well as the life of Lee Harvey Oswald leading to that fateful day in Dallas. According to Deadline, Once Upon a Time’s Ginnifer Goodwin and Gossip Girl's Michelle Trachtenberg have also joined the movie, playing Jackie Kennedy and Oswald’s Russian wife Marina, respectively. We’ll let you know when the actor playing Oswald gets cast.

The movie is being timed, like several other TV projects, to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Kennedy assassination. No official premiere date has been set, but the film is expected to hit the channel later this year. Additionally, National Geographic has already purchased the rights to O’Reilly and Dugard’s third book, Killing Jesus, although it will probably be quite a while before we hear more about this one, as the book won’t even be officially published until September.

Ginnifer Goodwin has been rocking out with the pixie cut for a long time now, rocking the ‘do prior to starring on the hit ABC show Once Upon A Time. The actress gets to keep the short haircut during the scenes set in the modern day United States on the show, and according to the starlet, the look is a keeper, due to its ease-of-use and generally refreshing look.

Goodwin recently spoke out about her curly hair, stating it has always been a hassle to manage and maintain, a premise many curly-haired women can relate to. Unlike many women dealing with curls, Goodwin was willing to take a chance with a pixie haircut and sport a look that would not work with some face shapes. The 34-year-old actress recently spoke to People about her confidence in her look.

The actress continued to gush about her ‘do, stating the misconceptions about short hair are really not as credible as one would think. The woman has rocked out with really long curls as well as the pixie cut, and she says she would take the short hair over the long when trying on clothing any day of the week.

Indeed, the Once Upon A Time star had on a white dress with lacy sleeves by Monique Lhuillier that may have looked a little frilly without the more stark looked ensure by Goodwin’s haircut. Pop Blend hopes the actress keeps up the choice for a few TV seasons to come. We can’t imagine Mary Margaret without it!

Big Love has always been a show that is a little larger than life. For its first three seasons, and even into its fourth, Big Love's over-the-top sensibility endeared itself to viewers and kept us hungering for more. Maybe it’s the nature of the beast forcing Season 5 into old clichés and plot points that just don’t work perfectly in the scheme of things. Certain plot points in Season 5 may leave fans who have watched for multiple seasons scratching their heads. I expect it to be far worse for those who experienced Big Love for the first time in its fifth season. Did Big Love lose its oomph or did it just lose an element of appeal?

Season 5 opens as the Henrickson family has begun to deal with the backlash being open about their polygamy has unleashed. New to his office, politician Bill Henrickson (Bill Paxton) finds himself with few friends as he tries to network. His three wives, Barb, Nicky, and Margene (Jeanne Tripplehorn, Chloe Sevigny, and Ginnifer Goodwin), all deal with unique personal crises as they try to keep the family functioning smoothly. Back on the compound, Bill’s mother (Grace Zabriskie) begins to show signs of dementia and moves back in with Bill’s father, Frank (Bruce Dern). Alby continues to wreak havoc and Nicky moves forward with adopting her daughter Cara (Cassi Thompson). Everything changes and nothing changes at all.

Season 5 does manage to tie up the stories it needs to in an ensemble cast. Although Aaron Paul and Amanda Seyfried’s characters bow out until the last episode, without them the acting is still all there and some moments are as riveting as they have been in the past. Even with its incessant drama, Big Love is such a warm show that we’ve come to know each of the characters like they are old friends. We want to know how life turns out for the Big Love clan.

Unfortunately, we don’t need a full season to do this. Season 5 is all about wrapping and rewrapping up storylines. It’s not that Margene is boring or Barb gets to be too much. It’s just that it felt like the show really hit its climax when the Henrickson family stood up for their polygamist lifestyle at the end of Season 4. Sans the Alby and Cara Lynn plotlines, the 10 episodes making up Season 5 play out like the continuation of a wrap-up instead of a season that stands on its own.

In its last few episodes, events begin to heat up. The last moments spent with Bill attempt to make up for the lack of interesting plot points early on. The finale itself is impressive and does finally manage to wrap up the series in the most efficient way given each character’s story arc. It’s too bad it takes the first eight episodes to make it to the ninth and tenth. While it is difficult to blame a great show for eking it out for an extra season, it would have been great if it hadn’t felt so drawn out.

As far as the disc itself goes, the biggest problem with HBO sets is how long they wait to release copies. The assumed logic is sound: if HBO only allow shows to be watched On Demand for a while, it might accrue more subscribers. Sound logic doesn’t mean it's any less annoying for those people trying to complete their DVD collections. Once a set is out, there are no complaints. Big Love discs have always been put together nicely, and Season 5 is no exception. It should be noted there is no Blu-Ray of Season 5; all seasons of Big Love have only been available on DVD.

The Season 5 discs themselves include an “inside the episode” segment for each episode. The big extra, however, is a retrospective featurette called “End of Days.” Although the set doesn’t come with a ton of bonus features, the “End of Days” segment is lengthy enough to cover each of the characters and most of the important plot points.

Overall, counting the nice discs and the plot of the final episode, I will say this: Big Love goes out with a bang. It’s too bad it comes at the price of too little, too late.

Big Love is nearing the end of its final season, but, Ginnifer Goodwin is already on her way to finding new work. The Hollywood Reporter has noted Goodwin will be starring as Snow White/Sister Mary Margaret Blanchard in the new ABC pilot Once Upon A Time.

The plotline for the pilot revolves around a woman who is brought into a town where fairytales and magic could be real. Through the introduction to this fanciful place, the woman will learn about her past. It’s mixing of the modern with magical elements seems to be in the same vein as the 2000 miniseries The Tenth Kingdom, which aired on rival network NBC.

Actually, from the limited knowledge presently known about this pilot, it seems like a several parallels could be drawn between The Tenth Kingdom and Once Upon A Time, including the modern to magical element and inclusion of a female lead who needs to get some facts straight regarding her past. Once Upon A Time may have an upper edge when competing with the miniseries, which did well critically but failed to find a television audience. With veteran Lana Parrilla and now Goodwin on board as actors, as well as Lost writers Edward Kitsis and Adam Horowitz writing the pilot, perhaps this time a modern fairytale will find a more formidable audience.

It's looking like John Krasinski will be able to avoid signing a nine-picture deal as Captain America, given recent reports that he didn't get the role, but he's got another kind of franchise in mind instead. THR reports that Krasinski has signed on for Something Borrowed, a romantic comedy based on Emily Giffin's novel, with a contract for the second film, Something Blue, as well.

In the first film Krasinski will play a confidant to the lead female character played by Ginnifer Goodwin, but in the second film-- provided it gets made, of course-- he would evolve into the male lead. In Something Borrowed Goodwin's character, a type-A Manhattan lawyer, finds herself in a love affair with her best friend's fiance just days after her 30th birthday. The second book tells the same story from the perspective of the best friend, a spoiled publicist who is also cheating on the groom-to-be. I'm not entirely sure how that means Krasinski would develop into a main character-- would he play the groomsman participating in the second affair?-- but things could be switched around enough between the movie and the book that none of this may be relevant anyway.

All the people up in arms about the notion of Krasinski as a superhero are probably a lot more comfortable with this turn of events. He was winning as the son-in-law in It's Complicated, and has spent six seasons of The Office convincing every woman in America he'd be the ideal boyfriend. Maybe he realized that superhero stardom isn't quite the next move, and it might be best to make his break into the movies by sticking to what he does best.
