Wedding bells rang for Hawkeye star Hailee Steinfeld and Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen earlier this year (with a star-studded group of guests), and it now turns out that the couple has even more to celebrate. The actress revealed that she's pregnant with their first child in a sweet and snowy video on social media, and she was quick to get support from celebrities, fans, and brands. My favorite might just be from a fellow Marvel Cinematic Universe alum.

Steinfeld, who has explained the #1 rule that made her summer 2025 wedding work as well as the key to be being married to an NFL player as a Hollywood star, shared the good news via her newsletter, Beau Society. Then, a video on Instagram demonstrated how well she and her athlete husband managed to keep the pregnancy a secret from prying eyes. Take a look:

Sure, they filmed the video on a cold and gray day, but the parents-to-be are all smiles in it as they kiss and show off her baby bump, as well as her jacket reading "MOTHER" all over it. Considering that Josh Allen's entire NFL career so far has been with the Buffalo Bills, it's no surprise that the team's official account dropped a comment on the reveal video. The NFL itself chimed in as well over on X (formerly known as Twitter) by reposting Steinfeld's video and adding this message:

Hailee Steinfeld hasn't shared any more details about her pregnancy on social media at the time of writing, nor has Josh Allen. The news does seem to explain the unique style that Steinfeld chose for the Governor's Awards back in November (via Instagram). The cut of the dress managed to completely hide her bump.

The couple went public with their relationship in 2024, and they tied the knot in May 2025. This is their first pregnancy, and they clearly have plenty of people already rooting for them. In fact, just an hour after Steinfeld shared the video on social media, it has already accumulated more than 1 million likes. Hopefully she and Josh Allen will continue getting nothing but support in their parenthood journey.

Josh Allen and Hailee Steinfeld might not be as public with their relationship as Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce, but I love that they do show up for each others’ big moments, like the Bills QB sneaking into the Mexico premiere of Sinners. This weekend saw the couple share another big moment, the retirement of Allen’s college jersey. However, this wasn’t the only special event to occur at the Wyoming Cowboys’ home game over the weekend. One of the broadcasters happened to catch the celebrity couple in a rare moment of PDA, and it’s honestly so adorable.

Something I really love when it comes to sporting events is that they’re accompanied with the ability to capture candid moments from people in the crowd. That’s all made even better when celebrities are in attendance. With that, I wonder if the camera man at the Wyoming game had no idea he was absolutely feeding starving fans when he managed to catch this sweet video of Hailee Steinfeld and Josh Allen nudging each other’s hats while chatting. This video is so wholesome it makes me want to cry. The way Steinfeld curls up into Allen after nudging his hat is so cute. Everytime fans get to see them together, and it’s not often, they always look so happy to be with each other.

For this rare public outing, the celebrity couple kept it casual, with Allen sporting a Wyoming Cowboys sweatshirt and Steinfeld donning a jacket with home team colors and hoop earrings, paired with their caps of course. This all makes me wish they stepped out together more often.

It’s not that they aren’t proud of each other, in fact quite the opposite is true when the Buffalo QB shouts out his wife every chance he gets. It’s more so, they’ve said in the past that they prefer to keep their relationship more private, which is why guests at their wedding weren’t allowed to have their phones on them.

I honestly can’t blame the couple for not wanting to let the media in more than they already do, especially when Hallmark is already making a knockoff Bills movie inspired by their love story. Steinfeld and Allen’s married life is still quite new, given they announced their engagement a year ago in November 2024 before tying the knot in May of this year. I respect the NFL QB and his “Queen City Queen” wanting to protect their peace, especially as they start to navigate their new life together.

Still, I was happy to see Hailee Steinfeld and Josh Allen out and about together with the latter’s family, who joined them in Laramie, WY for his college jersey retirement. The NFL MVP took the field at halftime for the ceremony, before joining his wife back in the box seats. Hopefully, we see more of the Edge of Seventeen actress supporting her hubby from the sidelines as the NFL season continues. That aside, though, I really hope they continue to feel comfortable to engage in normal outings in public together, like attending sporting events. I swear, if the internet gets too weird and forces one more of my comfort celebrity couples into hiding, I won’t forgive y’all.

While Sinners might have been better off saved for the spooky season rather than released in April on the 2025 movies schedule, there’s no denying that the Ryan Coogler-helmed vampire pic is one of this year’s biggest critical hits and a solid box office success. Michael B. Jordan, who played twins Smoke and Stack, was accompanied in the movie by Hailee Steinfeld as Mary, Stack’s ex-girlfriend. One of her character’s lines ended up going viral for NSFW reasons, and Steinfeld opened up about the awkwardness of having this particular line quoted to her in public.

Early on in Sinners, Stack tells Mary that he’d told her to steer clear of him, prompting her to respond (NSFW warning): “I heard you loud and clear, but then you stuck your tongue in my cooze and fucked me so hard I figured you changed your mind.” While Variety’s Clayton Davis read parts of that line to Steinfeld in an interview and mentioned how much it’s blown up, she had this to say:

Yeah, while I appreciate the enthusiasm from Sinners fans, maybe don’t pick that as the line to bring up if you run into Hailee Steinfeld out in the world. Take a cue from Davis and either only mention part of it or bring up another favorite moment involving Mary. This is one of those instances where awkwardness can be easily avoided, and you can still enjoy that moment being memed on TikTok.

For her part, Hailee Steinfeld has been surprised to see which parts of Mary ended up hitting with the Sinners audience, although these sorts of things are usually hard to predict. As she put it:

Back in July, Hailee Steinfeld talked about how “wonderful” Mary and Stack’s relationship is in Sinners, as her character desired to have that “happily ever after” with him. It’s just unfortunate that they both had to become vampires in order for that to happen. However, it was revealed in Sinners’ ending that Mary and Stack ended up surviving that horrific night in 1932, and 60 years later, they went to visit an elderly Sammie at his blues club, still looking exactly the same.

Hailee Steinfeld and Michael B. Jordan’s costars in Sinners include Miles Castor, Jack O’Connell, Wunmi Mosaku, Jayme Lawson and Delroy Lindo, among others. As mentioned, the movie was met with overwhelmingly positive reception, including CinemaBlend’s Sinners review giving it a perfect 5/5 stars. As we enter awards season, hopefully Sinners will be a contender for these various honors.

Ryan Coogler’s vampire thriller Sinners has taken the entertainment industry by storm. Audiences were “floored” by the “gory, horny, relevant” flick, and even Spike Lee gave an A+ review that certainly built up the hype. But the reaction that touched my heart the most was Josh Allen's. The Buffalo Bills' quarterback is also the husband of Sinners star Hailee Steinfeld, and he got candid about his sweet and surprising response to the film.

The new season of HBO’s Hard Knocks may be focused on the Buffalo Bills' training for the upcoming season, but the latest episode revealed that quarterback Josh Allen has “very strong opinions” about movies. After media personality Kyle Brandt asked the NFL player what he thought about Sinners, he was quick to give it an “A+” rating due to its combination of “different aspects of life” and another special reason I’m sure you can guess. He said:

As he said, Hailee Steinfeld absolutely “kills it” in the 2025 movie release. Not only as a creepy vampire, but as a white-passing character, Mary, who is trying to work out her relationship with one of the twins Michael B. Jordan plays. Through researching her mixed heritage, the True Grit actress successfully portrayed the pain of Mary and Stack’s love story of wanting to be with a man who rejected her for her protection in the oppressive Jim Crow era.

Given all of the past roles that shaped the talented actress’s career, the Ryan Coogler flick allowed audiences to see her in a new light and with power and unapologetic honesty that made her a true standout. Like Josh Allen said, hopefully The Academy will recognize Steinfeld this awards season.

The NFL star snuck into the Mexico premiere of his wife’s movie and said at a Bills press conference how proud he was of her. However, Allen emotionally revealed to Brandt a surprising reaction he had when the end credits rolled that is making me want to tear up:

Josh Allen must feel like one of the luckiest guys in the world to be married to such a phenomenal actress. The ending of Sinners -- and spoilers ahead -- is definitely an emotional one, where Stack and Mary, who were presented as star-crossed lovers, spend eternity as vampires together, with everyone reflecting that their last night together as humans was the best time all those decades ago.

But I also believe Allen must have been very touched seeing his wife score a touchdown of her own with her transformative performance. Now, he can say one of his favorite movies of the year starred the woman he plans to spend his own eternity with.

Hailee Steinfeld surely has a fan in her husband, who was brought to tears watching her Sinners performance. If the singer/actress does receive that Oscar nomination, I would love to see Josh Allen all teary-eyed supporting his wife at the ceremony, just like she’s supported his football career. That mutual dedication to one another is true love at best.

Following Hallmark’s wildly popular Kansas City Chiefs movie, the network is coming out with a follow-up for the 2025 Christmas movie season. The Buffalo Bills are next up to get the Hallmark treatment with Holiday Touchdown: A Bills Love Story. So, knowing this, I’ve been dying to know if Bills quarterback Josh Allen will watch the film, and someone finally asked him.

Hallmark fans have been hoping for a Holiday Touchdown sequel, so it was a pleasant surprise when it was announced earlier this year that another NFL-based rom-com would indeed be happening. This time it's centered around the Buffalo Bills. Since Allen has his own high-profile love story, having married Hailee Steinfeld in May, I’ve been curious to know if he’d be tuning in. He was actually asked by USA Today Sports if he was planning on watching it and what his thoughts were on it, and I love his answer:

It’s hard to predict how the film will go and how it will compare to the Chiefs' one, but knowing that Allen will be watching, and possibly with Steinfeld, makes the whole thing even better. The only thing that would really complete it is if they were to record their reactions; however, that's a far-fetched dream.

Anyway, it will also be fun to see cameos from Bills players and possibly family members in the film as well, following Mama Kelce’s cameo in the first Holiday Touchdown. I may not be a Bills fan, but this movie does have me pretty intrigued.

As of now, we only know vague details about Holiday Touchdown: A Bills Love Story, but we do know it will follow two lifelong friends who are searching for a secret Santa and find something that "changes the game." Even though I am not a Bills fan, I am excited to see how it turns out because, regardless, it is a Hallmark Christmas movie, and I love to watch as many as I can during the holiday season. Also, knowing that I might be watching the same movie as Josh Allen and Hailee Steinfeld is a plus.

Meanwhile, Holiday Touchdown is not the only Hallmark sequel coming soon. Lacey Chabert’s Haul Out the Holly is getting the Halloween treatment for the threequel, with the upcoming Hallmark movie titled Haul Out the Halloween. The film will see Chabert reunite with friend and Halloweentown actress Kimberly J. Brown, who is appearing alongside Halloweentown II co-star and husband Daniel Kountz.

Whether or not Holiday Touchdown: A Bills Love Story will be able to recreate the success and magic of A Chiefs Love Story is hard to tell, but it should be fun to see how it all turns out. A premiere date has not yet been announced, but it will premiere during Hallmark’s annual Countdown to Christmas lineup. The wait will surely be worth it, so fans (and Josh Allen) will just have to be patient.

As someone who is a big fan of both romantic comedies and sports movies, imagine my excitement when I found out about Winter Games, an Olympic rom-com set to star Hailee Steinfeld and Miles Teller. I was also excited when the Spider-Man: Across The Spider-verse actress starred in her own real-life sports romance when she married Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen in May of this year. He’s also been so supportive of her career and the release of Sinners, so when I tell you he needs to cameo in Winter Games, it’s not a want, but a need.

What We Know About Winter Games

With these two seasoned actors alongside director Paul Downs Colaizzo (Brittany Runs A Marathon) at the helm, I have to admit my hopes are high for Winter Games, especially after reading the following synopsis via The Hollywood Reporter:

I don’t know why, but this reads enemies to lovers to me, which is my absolute favorite rom-com trope. And a double underdog sports story? I could not be more hype. This film already has the potential to be up there with the best rom-coms of all time in my books, but only time will tell.

Given that the main castings were just announced, I don’t expect to see this film on the 2025 movie schedule. However, with the XXV Winter Olympics set to hit the 2026 TV schedule live from Italy, next year would be the perfect opportunity to release this original fictional film.

It would also give them plenty of time to figure out a part for Josh Allen...

How Josh Allen Could Cameo

Josh Allen certainly has a face for the big screen; he and Steinfeld are one good-looking pair. While the NFL MVP has never acted before, a cameo is definitely doable. I mean, look at his frequent opponent Travis Kelce, who made his acting debut last year in Grotesquerie and is set to appear in Happy Gilmore 2. Kelce and Allen are already frequently compared due to their high-profile relationships with Taylor Swift and the Dickinson actress, respectively. I’m sure his fellow NFL pal could give him some pointers, so let’s talk about how I think he could make a cameo in Winter Games.

Given that American football is not an Olympic sport, much less a winter one, the Bills quarterback can’t play himself. But an athlete’s an athlete, and he would definitely be able to draw from experience with high-stakes competition to be a fellow competitor in the Winter Games. Plus, after living in Buffalo, New York for seven years, he’s no stranger to snow and ice. I’m thinking he’s a teammate of Teller’s, or perhaps a rival hockey player Steinfeld’s character flirts with to make The Gorge actor jealous.

It’s important to note that as of right now, Paramount Pictures has said nothing about Allen being linked to the film. The recent casting announcement only included the Arcane actress. Most likely, the Bills player will be too busy to be on set when filming starts, as the 2025-2026 NFL season begins in September and runs through February.

But it’s fun to think of the possibilities anyway!

Fashion is a popular topic of conversation all year round, but things hit a fever pitch when Paris hosts Haute Couture Fashion Week. That happens to be going on as of this writing, which means that celebs of all stripes have been stepping out in all their fripperies and fineries so that they can dazzle as they sit front row at a number of fashion shows. The 2025 movie schedule star of Sinners, Hailee Steinfeld, stunned in a dress with bows, cutouts and a high slit, and she looked amazing on the street and at the show.

What Did Hailee Steinfeld Wear For Paris Fashion Week?

Just to be clear, no one who attends Fashion Week wears only one luxurious outfit, especially considering that there are dozens of shows and other events to attend. So, you can rest assured that Hailee Steinfeld (who’s newly married to Buffalo Bills player, Josh Allen) kicked it up in several styles this week.

However, the privacy-loving public figure recently attended the Tamara Ralph Haute Couture Fall/Winter 2025/2026 show, and pulled out all the stops in one of the fashion house’s gowns. I mean, just look at her arrival:

Wow. OK, you know what my favorite part of this photo is (besides the elegance of the Hawkeye star)? That kid in the background. He looks so confused! I have no interest in being famous, but I do think it would be nice to get out of a fancy black SUV while all fancied up and head out on a relatively random street with photographers snapping my pic, just to see what happens with the people around me.

Obviously, Steinfeld is well-practiced in the art of stepping out in style for all to see. She rocked Barbiecore in 2023 like many other stars, and even once attended the Met Gala in a look that made her completely unrecognizable. But, the Gwen Stacy voice actress stands out as herself here. She’s (of course) wearing Tamara Ralph, and the gown is embroidered, metallic silver lace with sequins, a bit of a train, a thigh-high slit, and velvet bows to help accentuate the cutouts.

She looks great! And I know you may be thinking that this is likely easy to do when surrounded by normies on the street, so, take a gander at her sitting front row at the fashion show:

Alright, go ahead and admit it…the star of one of the best Western movies of all time, True Grit, looks fabulous! I can only imagine that the Sinners group chat has been buzzing after seeing their co-star’s ‘fit for the fashionable French city. Hopefully, the Oscar nominee can take some time to relax this summer and both enjoy the success of her most recent film and her newlywed status. And, maybe keep showing up in amazing clothes to help us regular folk get the style hits we crave.

There are so many great things about Ryan Coogler's Sinners that you can briefly forget just how deeply layered the cinematic experience is. It starts off as an exciting crime story before events spiral out of control and it becomes a horror tale, but there's also the incredible music, and, of course, the romance. The latter is an aspect of the film that may not get as much attention as the others, but it's something that star Hailee Steinfeld certainly appreciates and recently highlighted in an interview.

Variety gathered Steinfeld and co-stars Wunmi Mosaku and Li Jun Li for a recent roundtable discussion of Sinners (which is now available to stream with a HBO Max subscription), and within the conversation, the True Grit actress commented on the relationship between Mary and Michael B. Jordan's Stack – a big taboo during the period in which the movie is set. The fact that both characters are ultimately transformed into vampires means that their love and connection becomes eternal, however, and Steinfeld loves that she can see their eternity together in the subtleties of their bond. Said the actress,

The relationship between Mary and Stack is complicated from the jump – when the former sees that the latter has returned to their hometown without notifying her. There is more push than pull at the start, as she has felt spurned by him and won't simply let him get away with it, but the story draws them together as Stack and his twin brother Smoke set up their juke joint. Things take a bloody turn when she is turned into a vampire and then she turns him into a vampire, and that seals them together forever.

It's horrific... but it's also romantic, as Steinfeld notes:

It's a strange love that movie-goers can now appreciate over and over again. Following its outrageously successful box office run during the spring, Sinners has now made its full transition to the home video market. As noted earlier, the blockbuster is now available to stream, but you can also purchase/rent it digitally from online retailers, and physical media collectors can buy it on 4K UHD/Blu-ray (today happens to be the official release date).

After the actress and Buffalo Bills player got engaged at the end of 2024, they tied the knot this month, and not long after, the actress opened up about the details and some of the choices she made. This included implementing a rule for her guests that proved to work out really well, and I totally see why.

The No. 1 rule the True Grit star gushed about was banning phones. Now, this isn’t a new concept for an event or a wedding, for that matter. There are a lot of reasons to ask guests not to use their phones during this time, and considering Allen and Steinfeld are a private couple and public figures, this choice made a lot of sense to me.

In her newsletter, via Today, the Hawkeye star noted that they had a no-phone wedding in an effort to make sure everyone was “present.” That proved to work as she gushed:

It helps all the guests (including Larry David, of all people) stay present, and it eliminates a massive distraction for everyone in attendance. For famous couples like Steinfeld and Allen, I’d imagine it adds a level of security and privacy, too.

Plus, as she said, while this was a no-phone wedding, tons of pictures were taken. For example, at the end of the night, the actress noted that everyone (except her) jumped into the pool in their dresses and suits. She had a disposable camera and captured the moment.

So, along with her photographer capturing everything with his camera, there were also others flying around to make sure moments were commemorated with images.

However, on the other hand, they’re wildly supportive of each other. We’ve seen that on display when Allen snuck into a Sinners premiere and when Steinfeld attended his MVP event. So, hearing that they banned phones, but made sure everything was captured, seems on-brand to me.

See, that’s where it gets a little confusing, because the Seinfeld co-creator is a huge fan of the New York Jets, who just happen to be rivals of Josh Allen’s Buffalo Bills in the AFC East. The Bills didn’t make it to the Super Bowl last season, but Allen dominated Larry David’s Jets and the rest of the division en route to winning the NFL MVP award. Hopefully, the comedian and the quarterback didn’t engage in any Curb Your Enthusiasm-style awkwardness!

Quite a few people related to the Buffalo Bills have already been confirmed to be making an appearance in the movie, including head coach Sean McDermott, legendary quarterback Jim Kelly and players Ray Davis, Damar Hamlin, Dion Dawkins, Dawson Knox, Reid Ferguson, DeWayne Carter and Joshua Palmer.

There’s no word on whether or not Josh Allen and/or Hailee Steinfeld might have a cameo in A Bills Love Story, but 2024’s version of Holiday Touchdown did feature Travis Kelce’s mom, Donna. Perhaps there’s a small comedic role in there somewhere for a Jets-loving contrarian? This season, I’m really looking forward to the sequel that’s coming to the Hallmark movie schedule, which will highlight a new team and characters and feature a new celebrity couple as its muse. The cast for A Bills Love Story has been revealed, and who knew Alexandra Daddario had a brother?

Holiday Touchdown: A Bills Love Story will hit the 2025 TV schedule as part of Hallmark’s Countdown to Christmas, with Holland Roden and Matthew Daddario playing the romantic leads Morgan Quinn and Gabe DeLuca, respectively, per People. They introduced themselves by throwing around a football on Hallmark’s YouTube channel:

Well, hello there, Matthew Daddario. I’m sorry to say that this is the first time I’m realizing The White Lotus and Mayfair Witches star Alexandra Daddario has a little brother who acts as well! Of course, this won’t be news to fans of Shadowhunters, who watched the 37-year-old portray Alec Lightwood on the Freeform supernatural teen drama.

Matthew Daddario has also appeared in movies like Cabin Fever and on TV series like Why Women Kill Season 2 (available with a Paramount+ subscription). His co-star Holland Roden has appeared in several Hallmark movies over the past few years, including the 2024 Countdown to Christmas offering Five Gold Rings, but this appears to be Daddario’s debut on the network.

In Holiday Touchdown: A Bills Love Story, they’ll be joined by Tony Danza, Tracy Pollan, Steve Schirripa, Caroline Aaron and more in the film about two families whose friendship is rooted in the cherished traditions of their team. While A Chiefs Love Story centered around a magic hat, the sequel will involve a mysterious benefactor, with Bills Mafia contributing to uncovering their identity.

Of course, there will be a love story as well. Morgan and Gabe are lifelong friends, though Matthew Daddario’s character has always wanted to be more. It seems like both parties’ feelings may shift as they work together to pull off a big Christmas surprise for her Uncle Tommy (Tony Danza).

Just like Kansas City Chiefs coach Andy Reid appeared in A Chiefs Love Story, along with several of his players, Buffalo Bills head coach Sean McDermott is among the cast members in the Holiday Touchdown sequel. He’ll be joined by Damar Hamlin, who fans nationwide became invested in after the Bills safety suffered a cardiac event during a 2023 game and had to be resuscitated on the field, as well as running back Ray Davis, Bills legend Jim Kelly and many others.

Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce seemed to be the impetus behind A Chiefs Love Story, and Buffalo Bills fans have had their own headline-making romance to follow in quarterback Josh Allen and Sinners actress Hailee Steinfeld. The couple started dating in Spring 2023, with Allen proposing just under two years later, ahead of this season’s playoffs (though Steinfeld had already guessed his snap count).

With a Super Bowl as an attainable goal for Josh Allen, it’s not unreasonable to think he could reach a level of success that Travis Kelce has professionally. However, when it comes to the fame that comes with that and having a famous partner, he’d rather keep things low-key, as the source alleged:

While one doesn’t necessarily need “a good reason” to enjoy working on something like Sinners, the overwhelming response from the public would surely qualify. However, to also have the approval of peers like Tom Cruise and Pedro Pascal also sending their love, that’s got to be something that Michael B. Jordan and Hailee Steinfeld are still smiling about, long after they’ve cleaned the fake blood from their equally fake fangs.

Rocking an all-black look for the occasion, many in the crowd noticed the 6’ 5" quarterback at the celebration for the 2025 movie release.

Photos showed the football player coming out of the car and looking from afar as his partner made her way to the fans. The video showed Allen waving and giving a thumbs up before merrily making his way into the screening to see his soon-to-be wife on the big screen. What a devoted guy he is!

Sinners has gotten stellar reviews. The Ryan Coogler flick currently has a wildly impressive Rotten Tomatoes score of 98%, and critics are calling it “gory, horny, relevant.” Josh Allen certainly was impressed with what he saw at the Mexico premiere, too, praising the movie and his partner's performance during a Bills press conference:

Like critics said, Michael B. Jordan certainly gave a “nuanced” dual performance, and Delroy Lindo was a real scene-stealer. However, Hailee Steinfeld brought sharp banter and emotional depth into her performance, showing off her range and talents in fantastic ways.

Now, the actress was there when Josh Allen made history as the first Bills quarterback to win NFL MVP, with the recipient ending his speech with a huge dedication to his fiancée. After the True Grit actress took to Instagram to let fans know he’s “MVP Josh Allen,” he sweetly commented on his love for Steinfeld.

With all of the support she’s shown to the Bills player, Allen made it clear that he wants to do the exact same thing for his partner, explaining:

Filming movies is often a huge bonding experience. Actors are sometimes isolated on a project, which can create a “summer camp” feel, leading to lasting friendships. For example, the Oppenheimer cast kept in touch with a group chat titled “Oppenhomies” after the movie finished filming. This kind of closeness seems to be carried on by the cast of Sinners, who also apparently have a big group chat to keep in touch. However, Michael B. Jordan didn’t exactly get the memo, and he definitely feels some sort of way about it.

In a recent interview with Buzzfeed, the cast was asked about who was most likely to respond in the group chat. The answer was Michael B. Jordan, but not for the reason you may think. It was a hilariously triggering conversation for the Creed actor, who took the opportunity to tell everybody he wasn’t invited into the group chat in the first place. He said:

Honestly, this sassy and silly response is valid!

Hailee Steinfeld tried to stop him from getting sassy, indicating there was a bigger story there as to why he wasn’t invited into the text chain. Actress Wunmi Mosaku also pointed out that she was excluded from the group chat because she had a Samsung phone, which can make an iMessage chat a little clunky, so Jordan wasn’t alone.

Maybe Jordan also had a Samsung, which could explain why he was excluded. Or maybe the rest of the cast thought he wouldn’t be interested in the text chain, considering he was the star of the film, and therefore had a lot of acting responsibilities and wouldn’t want to be distracted.

Whatever it was, the whole thing seems to be in jest, and Jordan wasn’t actually upset about his omission. They were all laughing throughout and the vibe in the room didn’t dramatically shift when he called out his castmates, indicating there was actually a valid reason for his exclusion.

He actually seems to have great rapport with his co-stars, especially Hailee Steinfeld, whom he’s been doing a lot of press with. They look like they have a great time together and are constantly joking around. No bad blood seems to be present, and maybe this group chat incident was more just a way for the cast to joke around with the star.

Now that Jordan has called them out however, maybe it’s time for him to be added. A chat is a fantastic way to stay in touch, even years after people part ways.

Jack Quaid revealed that the Oppenhomies group chat is still active, connecting the all-star cast and helping to maintain friendships. The same goes for the Top Gun: Maverick group chat, which may be invigorated again if the rumored Top Gun 3 comes to fruition. Overall, Jordan has made his valid feelings known, and I think it’s about time the Black Panther actor gets in on the fun.

Why Has Shameik Moore Been A Topic Of Discussion As Of Late, And How Is Hailee Steinfeld Involved?

For some time now, it’s been alleged that the two Spider-Verse co-stars have been somewhat flirty while making and promoting the films. A number of interview clips have shown the two palling around while discussing the movies. Some have strongly argued on social media, however, that the Miles Morales voice actor has a thing for his co-star. It’s for that reason that many evoked Moore’s name when his castmate became engaged to Josh Allen, the QB of the Buffalo Bills. The common assumption seemed to be that Moore was upset by that development.

Some social media users also shaded Shameik Moore for not being in a relationship with Hailee Steinfeld due to other Spider-Man actors having dated their co-stars like Andrew Garfield & Emma Stone and Tom Holland & Zendaya (who are now engaged). There’s no firm evidence to prove that Moore was upset by his co-star’s engagement. However, he did spark more speculation when he shared a post on X around the same time, and it reads as follows:

On that note, to tie this all back to the Michael B. Jordan/Hailee Steinfeld video, fans seem to be suggesting that Shameik Moore would be jealous of the two actors’ interactions in the clip. Again, this is all hearsay, so there’s no way of knowing Moore’s true feelings about Steinfeld’s engagement or her friendship with Jordan. What can be said, though, is that Jordan and Steinfeld simply seem to be enjoying hanging out together ahead of Sinners’ release in theaters on April 18.

As if we weren’t excited enough for the release of Sinners next weekend, Hailee Steinfeld has shared the personal reason why Ryan Coogler's movie was important to her. Along with it being one of April’s exciting upcoming horror movies, it also allowed the Hawkeye and Across The Spider-Verse actress to explore her African American roots.

The 28-year-old actress has a Jewish father and a mother with Filipino and African American among her mixed heritage. Since Steinfeld’s character in Sinners also has a half-Black grandfather written into her character, the actress got the chance to explore her own family history further. In her words:

Hailee Steinfeld has been starring in movies and television for almost 20 years now, but her career hasn’t really allowed her to explore her mixed heritage quite like Sinners.

During her interview with Blavity, she discussed further about what the movie means to her and her family:

The role has allowed Hailee Steinfeld to feel “closer” to her relatives and ancestors after taking the time to learn more about them in preparation for her role. As she also told People, she does wish her grandfather was still living so he could “answer all the questions” that she’s amassed since starring in the movie. Overall, though, she appreciates the way the character “challenged” her.

Something particularly meaningful about the role is how Sinners takes place in the segregated American South in the 1930s, which was around the time Steinfeld’s grandfather was living.

Ahead of the film’s release, we don’t have a lot of context regarding what this all means for her role of Mary. However, based on what the first viewers of Sinners have said about it, it sounds like we’re in for a real treat from Ryan Coogler, who named Stephen King, the Coen Brothers and John Carpenter among his influences for this film.

People who have seen this movie have been “floored” by it, calling it the “best film of the year (so far),” with a “social commentary with a hell of a bite.” If that’s not enough, Spike Lee also called it the “greatest experience of watching a film in years.” Oh, and the movie's star, Michael B. Jordan, has also given Hailee Stenfield a shoutout for her performance, allowing her talents to be shown “in a new light.” Jordan said he’s really excited for the audiences to react to her role’s “depth.”

Sinners will be playing in theaters next Friday, April 18.

Hallmark is teaming up with the NFL again for the 2025 Countdown to Christmas, as Variety announced Holiday Touchdown: A Bills Love Story. The announcement comes about four months after Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen proposed to actress Hailee Steinfeld, and I can imagine members of Bills Mafia are as thrilled as Chiefs Kingdom was last year.

Many Hallmark fans — myself included — were hoping for a Holiday Touchdown sequel, but rather than continue to follow the story of Derrick and Alana (Tyler Hynes and Hunter King, respectively), it looks like we’ll be heading east for a Buffalo-based romance. We don’t have any details yet about the plot or which of our favorite Hallmark actors will star in the movie, but it was confirmed that it will film in and around Buffalo, New York, including at the Bills’ Highmark Stadium.

If Hailee Steinfeld is responsible in any way for Josh Allen’s play this season, Bills fans are going to want to protect her at all costs. The team was 11-3 going into their December 22 game, having already clinched their division to continue playing when the playoffs kick off in a couple of weeks. They’re the No. 2-seeded team in the AFC behind Travis Kelce’s Chiefs, and incidentally, Kansas City’s only loss this season so far came at the hands of Allen and his team.

I can only imagine that Hailee Steinfeld and Josh Allen will have the full support of Buffalo as this season continues to play out. The couple were first linked in May 2023 and have been slightly less private about their relationship since getting engaged — an event that the Pitch Perfect actress almost guessed was coming.

Many fans are now wondering if Travis Kelce might be the next NFL star to propose to his famous girlfriend. Engagement rumors have swirled pretty much since Taylor Swift and Kelce’s relationship became known last fall, but some photos from the surprise “End of Eras Tour” party that the tight end threw for the “Love Story” singer had fans wondering if Kelce might have already popped the question.

Either way, with the luck that Josh Allen and Travis Kelce’s teams are having on the field, it certainly seems like Hailee Steinfeld and Taylor Swift can take at least some of the credit. All eyes remain on Kelce, though, to see what his next move will be.

Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen is used to making the calls during football games, but he recently orchestrated a pretty big play off the field, as he proposed to Hailee Steinfeld after over a year of dating. One of the stars of the upcoming Spider-Man movie Beyond the Spider-Verse, Steinfeld has kept her relationship with the NFL star relatively private, but now that they’re engaged, the happy couple spoke out about their big news. Allen went to great lengths to make the proposal a surprise, but it sounds like she’s pretty good about guessing his snap count.

Hailee Steinfeld, who will star in the upcoming horror movie Sinners on the 2025 movie schedule, interviewed her fiancé for her newsletter Beau Society, where he recalled the events of that fateful day and how it felt to be a betrothed man. Josh Allen better hope the Oscar nominee doesn’t turn up on one of the defenses he’s facing, because he revealed he and Steinfeld were hilariously on the same page of his playbook in the hours before he took a knee to ask for her hand in marriage:

I can only imagine that after keeping such a huge secret from her — which he said was so hard to do — the quarterback must have freaked out when Hailee Steinfeld started asking about getting married on the very day he was going to propose. It was like she saw that play coming from a mile away. She actually didn’t, though, because he was able to call an audible of sorts and throw her off his track.

Little did she realize that when he asked for “a little more time,” Josh Allen really just meant a matter of hours, because he described his fiancée’s reaction to the proposal as “extremely surprised.”

A number of fans, football players and actresses sent their congratulations to the couple upon hearing of their engagement, including both Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce. Josh and Hailee may be one of the most recent celebrity relationships to formally decide to spend their lives together, but NFL fans are hoping to see the Kansas City Chief put a ring on the Eras Tour star’s finger sooner rather than later.

Travis Kelce’s relationship with Taylor Swift likely started around the same time as Hailee Steinfeld and Josh Allen’s, and lord knows engagement rumors have been swirling pretty much since the romance was first confirmed. Only time will tell if and when their time comes, but for now, it’s Allen and Steinfeld who have found their “End Game.”

If Hallmark movies have taught us anything, it’s that the holidays are a time for love. Josh Allen and Hailee Steinfeld were first linked in May 2023 but have managed to keep their relationship mostly private. Some moments are definitely worth sharing, though, and if the NFL quarterback thought he was having a good season already (his Bills were 9-2 going into their December 1 game against the 49ers), I bet this scene made his whole year even better:

Yeah, yeah, we get it. Over a year since they first went public, people are still obsessed with the “Tayvis” phenomenon. (I did mention the new Hallmark movie, right? Point proven.) Engagement rumors have been swirling for this entire year, and “Killa Trav” hasn’t been able to so much as mention diamonds on his New Heights podcast with brother Jason without working people into a frenzy.

However, we’ll just have to wait and see what the future holds, because this day belongs to Josh Allen and Hailee Steinfeld. Along with congratulations from the NFL, the Buffalo Bills and other NFL players, the couple received well-wishes from celebs including Rebel Wilson and Elizabeth Banks. A great performance from a precocious young actor can steal scenes and even entire movies and TV shows. Like the kids on this list, who have so much personality at such a young age it's crazy. From TV stars like Gary Coleman on Diff'rent Strokes to supporting roles in movies that end up being the most-talked-about bits of the films, like Jonathan Lipnicki in Jerry Maguire, these kids are just oozing charm and talent. 

Shirley Temple

You can't have a list like this without the original Hollywood kid star, the great Shirley Temple. Though Temple acted in films into her late teens before retiring in 1950, she is really best remembered for her roles as a clever witty kid in movies like 1935's Curly Top and 1936's Stowaway. After Temple retired, she went on to have a successful career as a spokesperson and even a foreign diplomat.

There are very few kids that could ever carry a movie, much less a franchise, like Macaulay Culkin did with the Home Alone movies. The first movie is one of the most successful movies of all time, and while the entire cast of Home Alone is amazing, the movie would not be the same with anyone else as Kevin McCallister.

Haley Joel Osment's big break came as the intense kid who could see dead people in The Sixth Sense. Like a few others on this list, he's a child star who is still acting today and it's not hard to see why given the talent he displayed at just 11 years old. 

Millie Bobby Brown

By the time Millie Bobby Brown was the ripe old age of 12, when she first starred in Stranger Things on Netflix, the actress was a seasoned vet. She had already had regular roles on a couple of TV shows both in the US and her native UK and had made a number of guest appearances on shows like NCIS and Grey's Anatomy. Of course, it would as a Eleven in Stranger Things that really proved how great she is. 

Christian Bale

Christian Bale is one of the best actors of his generation, something he started to prove very early in his life when he took on the starring role of a war orphan in  Steven Spielberg's Empire of the Sun. Bale was only 13 at the time and his performance is both heartbreaking and heartwarming. It's hard to fathom the ability to do that as barely a teenager. 

Gary Coleman

There isn't a more famous catchphrase from 1980s TV than "Whatchu talkin' 'bout, Willis?" Of course, those words were part of seemingly every single episode of Diff'rent Strokes. Gary Coleman's role as Arnold, the orphaned kid taken in, with his brother, by Mr Drummond was one of the most popular characters of the decade.  

Anna Chlumsky

While Macaulay Culkin was the big "star" of My Girl when it was released, his counterpart, played by Anna Chlumsky is every bit as charming as wonderful as Caulkin. Chlumsky's talents were on full display as a kid, talents that would eventually earn her many Emmy nominations for her work as an adult in Veep.

Jonathan Lipnicki

Let's be honest, is there a cuter kid than Jonathan Lipnicki in Jerry Maguire? His charm and unintentional wit is totally off the charts in the rom-com. He even knows how much a human head weighs (8 pounds) and that bees and dogs smell fear. No too shabby. 

Tatum O'Neal

When Tatum O'Neal won the Oscar for starring alongside her father, Ryan O'Neal, in  Paper Moon in 1974 she became the youngest person to ever win the award at just age 10. That pretty much says it all. While other kids have been nominated, she was the first kid to win. She continued to show her talents and personality in movies like The Bad News Bears and Nickelodeon before personal problems derailed her promising career. 

Henry Thomas

Acor Henry Thomas has had a long career in TV and on film, but the movies we all best remember are when he was a child actor full of skill and personality in movies like E.T. and the underrated Cloak & Dagger. E.T. was one of the most successful movies of all time and is ranked as one of Steven Spielberg's best movies, thanks in large part to Thomas' performance. 

Jaleel White

It's true that Steve Urkel on Family Matters is one of the more polarizing characters in TV history, but Jaleel White's performance as the nerdy neighbor shouldn't be controversial. He was perfect in the role and people are still making references to it decades later, which tells you all you need to know. 

Hailee Steinfeld

In literature, there are few kids with more personality than Mattie Ross in Charles Portis' classic novel True Grit. It takes a young actor with an equally big personality to play her on-screen and in the Coen Brother's 2010 adaption, Hailee Steinfeld just crushes the role. 

Drew Barrymore

When you come from Hollywood royalty, like the Barrymore family, you'd better have some acting chops. Drew Barrymore proved just how great she was before she was even seven years old when she starred in her breakout role as Gertie in E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial. She continued acting as a kid in movies like Firestarter and Irreconcilable Differences, before moving on to adult roles and eventually, her own talk show. 

Keshia Knight Pulliam

The Cosby Show was among the most popular shows of the 1980s and while Bill Cosby was undoubtedly the star of the show, Keshia Knight Pulliam, who played the youngest Huxtable child, Rudy, stole a TON of scenes in every season. Who could ever forget the lip-syncing scenes with the whole family, and not immediately recall her legendary moments in those scenes? 

Hayley Mills

How about not one, but two roles that prove just how much personality one child actor can show off? For Hayley Mills, The Parent Trap wasn't her first movie, but it is the one most remembered from her child-acting days. She plays both twins in the movie and does it so well, that you'd swear it would have to be two people, even though they look alike. 

Abigail Breslin

Little Miss Sunshine was the surprise hit of 2006 and that was in no small part (pun intended) to Abigail Breslin's brilliant performance as Olive, the girl at the heart of the dysfunctional family's road trip. you know someone is a star when they stand out from a cast that includes Alan Arkin, Paul Dano, Steve Carell, and Toni Collette.

Anna Paquin

These days Anna Paquin is probably best known for her work in the X-Men series, but she really burst onto the scene as an 11-year-old in The Piano, for which she became one of the youngest actors to ever win an Academy Award. More than three decades later she's still lighting up the screen. 

Alfonso Ribeiro

In the 1980s television was filled with precocious kids tearing it up on shows like Silver Spoons. Ricky Schroeder may have been the star as young Ricky, a role that launched his career, but his best friend, Alfonso, played by Alfonso Ribeiro, stole a lot of the scenes he was in. After Silver Spoons, Ribeiro danced into our hearts as Carlton on The Fresh Prince Of Bel-Air. 

Natalie Portman

It is undeniable that Natalie Portman is one of the finest actors of her generation and her career all started when she was just 12 in Leon: The Professional. It's a complicated role, one that even many adult actors would struggle with, but Portman showed right away just what kind of acting chops she had in the movie. It's a challenging role for audiences, thanks to her fantastic performance. 

Alyssa Milano

Alyssa Milano's career has gone through some peaks and valleys, like many actors. One of the highest peaks came when she was just a kid, starring as Samantha in Who's The Boss?, a classic '80s sitcom. Tony Danza played her father and the chemistry between them was legendary. Maybe one day we'll get that reboot we've been waiting for. 

Jerry Mathers

In the whole history of American television, one of the most enduring characters has to be from its golden age in the 1950s, Beaver Cleaver. Played by Jerry Mathers, The Beav was an instant hit with kids and parents alike and the show ran for decades in reruns all over the country. Mathers even returned to play The Beaver during the Baby Boomer nostalgia fad of the 1980s. 

Keisha Castle-Hughes

When Keisha Castle-Hughes was nominated for an Oscar in her breakout role in The Whale Rider, she was the youngest person to ever receive that honor. Her performance is fully deserving of the praise she received and she's continued to receive well-earned praise for her roles in Game of Thrones as Obara Sand, and as Hana Gibson in FBI.

Jodie Foster

Playing a role like Jodie Foster played in Taxi Driver takes a truly special actor. Foster, who was just 14 when she played the complicated role, has gone on to have an incredible and empowering career in Hollywood, but it's hard to imagine her having a tougher assignment than that part, with such adult complications, in Taxi Driver.

There is something so magical about kids playing roles that really wrestle with adult themes and one of the best recent examples is Dafne Keen in Logan. It's a complicated role, dealing with complicated subjects and Keen is sublime throughout the movie. 

Heather O'Rourke

Heather O'Rouke's all too tragic life was taken way too soon. The Poltergeist star died when she was just 12 years old, but in those 12 years, she left a heck of an impression on the world. Her performance in Poltergeist completely steals the legendary horror film. 

Natalie Wood

While Natalie Wood is too often remembered for all the wrong reasons, in her short life (she died when she was just 43), she packed a ton of memorable performances in that life. One of the most enduring has to be her role in Miracle on 34th Street, which came when she was just 9 years old. 

Sometimes an actor just explodes on the scene with their first movie. Many of the people on this list have even been nominated and won awards for their first roles. Most, of course, have gone on to have long, successful careers, so let's look back at these actors who absolutely crushed it in their first roles. 

Lupita Nyong'o - 12 Years A Slave

It didn't take long for Kenyan native Lupita Nyong'o to make a huge splash in Hollywood. After a little time working on movie sets behind the camera, she studied acting at Yale and landed her seminal role in 12 Years A Slave almost immediately after graduating. The performance speaks for itself, and Nyong'o deservingly took home an Oscar for it. Amazingly, three years later, she won a Tony in her Broadway debut in Eclipsed.

Sean Penn - Taps

Sean Penn has had a long, storied career and while many may assume his breakout role came as the stoner Spicoli in Fast Times At Ridgemont High, but a year before cracking up audiences in that cult classic, he played a very different role as a would-be soldier at a military academy in Taps. Notably, Tom Cruise also made his breakthrough role in the movie alongside Penn. 

Reese Witherspoon - The Man In The Moon

Over the last 4 decades or so, Reese Witherspoon has not only become one of the most acclaimed actresses in Hollywood, but a major force behind the scenes as a producer. It all started for the Nashville native with her debut in The Man In The Moon in 1991. It's always impressive when a newcomer can lead a personal film like this, and Witherspoon showed early how good she is by doing so. 

Natalie Portman - Leon: The Professional

There are a few actors in Hollywood who broke big when they were very young. From the moment you see Natalie Portman on screen in her first role as Mathilda in Leon: The Professional, you know she's going to be big. Yeah, it's an uncomfortable movie to watch for obvious reasons - Portman was just 13 - but seeing how brave she was to take on a complicated role like that, it was clear she was destined for greatness. 

Edward Norton - Primal Fear

Has there ever been a more terrifying and convincing debut performance from an actor than Edward Norton in Primal Fear? It's one of the all-time great grifter films and Norton's performance is the major reason why. He's scary, both in character and in talent. 

Florence Pugh - The Falling

It's hard to believe Florence Pugh made her debut in The Falling in 2014. It seems like the actress has been around forever as she keeps picking amazing roles and crushing the performances, just like her first. 

Kevin Bacon - National Lampoon's Animal House

Every actor in Hollywood is connected to Kevin Bacon, as the game claims, and that's because for more than five decades he's been giving amazing performance and amazing performance. His first movie, the classic comedy National Lampoon's Animal House is certainly no exception as he plays a snobby, snarky, frat boy to perfection. There is nothing he can't do.  

Halle Berry - Jungle Fever

In 2001 Halle Berry became the first African-American woman to win the Best Picture Oscar for Monster's Ball. That was just 10 short years after she made he incredible debut in Spike Lee's Jungle Fever. The former beauty pageant contestant has been one of the most reliably great stars in the years since, starring in some of the biggest franchises in Hollywood including the X-Men, James Bond, John Wick, and much more. 

Jennifer Hudson - Dreamgirls

After finishing seventh in the third season of American Idol, we all knew Jennifer Hudson could sing. When she was cast as Aretha Frankin-like Effie White in Dreamgirls, it didn't surprise anyone. At least, we weren't surprised until we all saw just how her powerful voice was matched by her powerful acting. She took home the Oscar for Best Supporting Actress in her big-screen debut. 

Eddie Murphy - 48 Hrs.

By the time Eddie Murphy starred in 48 Hrs. alongside Nick Nolte in 1982, he was already a bonafide TV star from his time on SNL. Known for his great characters and hilarious lines on SNL, it wasn't clear if he could carry a movie. 48 Hrs. settled that, he definitely could and he's been leading them ever since. 

Marlee Matlin - Children Of A Lesser God

Marlee Matlin has been breaking down barriers since the very beginning of her career. Deaf from the time she was a small child, there must have been many people who told her she could pursue her dreams. Instead, she became not only the deaf actor to win an Oscar in his debut movie, Children Of A Lesser God, but the youngest woman to take home the statue as well. 

Anne Hathaway - The Princess Diaries

From the very beginning, Anne Hathaway has been wowing audiences. Her first movie is still one of her most beloved, The Princess Diaries. She even got to star alongside true film royalty. Julie Andrews. She didn't seem intimidated then, and she never has been since. 

Tim Curry - The Rocky Horror Picture Show

Tim Curry's first movie has become the dictionary definition of a cult classic. The Rocky Horror Picture Show was a flop when it was released, but in the decades since, it's become one of the most popular movies of all time with a fanbase that is not just dedicated, but rabid in its love for the movie and for Curry's character, Frank-N-Furter.

Emma Stone - Superbad

Superbad is one of those comedies that very really gets old, especially if you grew up with it as a staple of your DVD rotation. Emma Stone's character Jules is not the kind of character you'd expect to be as funny as she is, which makes Stone pretty much perfect for the role, as she is as effortlessly funny as she is effortlessly beautiful. She's gone on to tackle some characters with incredible depth, but she set the foundation in Superbad. 

Oprah Winfrey - The Color Purple

There is really nothing Oprah Winfrey can't accomplish. She was already on her way to becoming the biggest daytime talk show in history by the time she landed a role in Steven Speilberg's classic The Color Purple. It turns out Winfrey can do a whole more than coax the most out of guests on her talk show, she can act really act, earning an Oscar nomination in her film debut. 

Julie Andrews - Mary Poppins

It's really hard to believe that Julie Andrews didn't make her true film debut until she was nearly 30 years old, when she appeared as the legendary Mary Poppins in the film of the same name. Of course, Andrews was well-established as a stage actor at that point, but still, it was the golden age of Hollywood, you'd think she would have been cast in something well before Mary Poppins. At least we can be grateful she was cast here. 

Alan Rickman - Die Hard

Hans Gruber in Die Hard is, without a doubt, one of the greatest villains of the 1980s. Knowing that it was the film debut of the incredible Alan Rickman makes it all that more impressive. He plays the role with such confidence and panache, that it's almost too much to believe it was his first movie role, but it was. 

Anna Paquin - The Piano

Anna Paquin won the Oscar for Best Supporting Actress for her performance in The Piano. She was just 11 years old! Anyone who does that deserves a spot on any list like that. She's the second youngest ever to win an Oscar and in the years since she's continued to wow us with her work. 

Jamie Lee Curtis - Halloween

Jamie Lee Curtis basically invented the modern scream queen in horror movies in her debut in Halloween. It's a genre she's only returned to a few times in her long, impressive career, but we're sure glad it's where she got her start. 

Hailee Steinfeld - True Grit

It's a little remarkable how many young girls pop up on a list like this. One of the most recent examples of a teenager just crushing her film debut is Hailee Steinfeld. Not only did she have the pressure of playing a beloved literary character like Mattie Ross in True Grit, but she also had to act alongside legends like Jeff Bridges, Matt Damon, and Josh Brolin. She doesn't just hold her own, either, she steals the movie. She rightly received an Oscar nomination for her work.  

Glenn Close - The World According To Garp

Glenn Close burst on the scene with award-winning performances on Broadway before transitioning to film with her debut on the silver screen in The World According To Garp where she picked up where she left off on the stage, getting nominated for an Oscar. She would earn Oscar nominations (but sadly no wins) for her next two movies as well, The Big Chill and The Natural. 

Robert Duvall - To Kill A Mockingbird

Robert Duvall's career goes all the way back to the 1950s, when he first appeared as Boo Radley in one of the most beloved movies about the American South, To Kill A Mockingbird. He only has a small role, as the character with an outsized effect on the plot who is only seen at the end, but he embodies the character so many kids learn to love when they first read the book in high school. 

John Malkovich - Places In The Heart

There is no question that John Malkovich is one of the finest actors of his generation. He's completely fearless in all the roles he plays and that's true going all the way back to his first role as a blind World War I vet in the Depression-era film Places in the Heart alongside Sally Field, Danny Glover, and Ed Harris. 

Lily Tomlin - Nashville

Though she was already a comedic legend on TV, having appeared on Laugh-In and The Carol Burnett Show, Lily Tomlin showed what range she really had as a gospel singer and mother to two in Nashville. She's continued to show those skills over and over in the decades since. 

Gal Gadot - Fast & Furious

Gal Gadot is best known as Wonder Woman these days, but she made her debut in another giant Hollywood franchise when she appeared in Fast & Furious, the fourth installment of the Fast And Furious series. The ex-Israeli army veteran has impressed fans of the movies in each of her 3 appearances by performing most of her own stunts.  

Kerry Washington - Our Song

Our Song is an underrated movie that is everything great about independent filmmaking. It's an intensely personal story about a unique moment in time for the characters and the audience. Kerry Washington simply blows audiences out of the water with her powerful and heartfelt performance. It's incredible how good she was in her first movie.

So, technically Dustin Hoffman had already had a small role in a film before The Graduate (a movie called The Tiger Makes Out). For all intents and purposes, he introduced himself to the world with an Oscar-nominated performance in one of the most iconic movies in Hollywood history, The Graduate. It's a movie people still love talking about and lauding, even nearly 60 years later. 

John Cazale - The Godfather

The incredible and tragic story of actor John Cazale is well-known among movie buffs. Cazale only starred in five movies before he died of cancer at just age 42. All five of those movies won the Oscar for Best Picture The first, his first, was, of course, The Godfather. Though his character, Fredo, would play a larger role in the sequel, he still established himself as one of the greatest of his generation before we all lost him too soon.  

Gabrielle Union - She's All That

Actor Gabrielle Union has definitely made her mark not only on Hollywood but on the world with her stellar performances and her charity work outside of film. HE burst onto the scene in She's All That and she's never slowed down since. 

James Dean - East Of Eden

The great James Dean is one of the biggest "what ifs" in Hollywood history. Though he did have some uncredited roles in a few movies, the young actor starred in just three movies, including his first East Of Eden. For that role, he would receive an Oscar nomination, though he wouldn't live to see it, as he was killed in a car crash before being nominated. A feat that would be repeated the next year with Giant.

Jason Schwartzman - Rushmore

Though Jason Schwartzman comes from a prominent Hollywood family, that didn't guarantee success. Instead, he went out in his first movie role, in Rushmore, and absolutely embodied his character of Max. It's every bit as impressive as anything his mom Talia Shire has done, and that is no small feat. 

Keisha Castle-Hughes - The Whale Rider

When Keisha Castle-Hughes was nominated for an Oscar at just 12 years old for The Whale Rider, you knew she was one to watch for. She was, at the time, the second-youngest person nominated for an Oscar and not only was the nomination well-deserved, but she's continued to justify the voters' confidence in her with her roles over the last couple of decades. 

As the 2024 Oscar nominees and guests walked the red carpet before this year’s ceremony, it became abundantly clear that sparkles were going to have a major moment. From Zendaya's pink off-the-shoulder black and pink moment to Anya Taylor-Joy's angelic silver gown to America Ferrera's Barbiecore dress, dazzling outfits were the highlight this year, and we need to talk about it. 

Zendaya

After killing it on the Dune: Part Two press tour -- I mean she wore an incredible robot-inspired outfit at one point for heaven's sake -- Zendaya, one of our most fashionable celebrities, slayed the Oscars red carpet wearing Armani Privé and Bulgari jewelry, per E! News.

 Anya Taylor-Joy  

Keeping it in the Dune: Part Two cast, Anya Taylor-Joy also sparkled on the carpet wearing Dior Haute Couture, per Red Carpet Fashion Awards. The look featured gorgeous silver pedals down the skirt, and she complimented the gown with a lovely silver necklace. 

America Ferrera 

Taking a page directly out of her Barbie castmates' playbook, America Ferrera hopped on the Barbiecore trend, wearing a dazzling pink Versace chainmail dress, per People. 

Da’Vine Joy Randolph  

The Holdovers is no doubt one of Da'Vine Joy Randolph's best movies, and this Oscar winner rocked a sparkling Louis Vuitton powder blue gown, per ET, perfect to accept her trophy for her performance in the acclaimed drama. She truly shined!

Colman Domingo  

Nominated for Rustin, Colman Domingo walked the Oscars red carpet in a black Louis Vuitton suit. As always, he was super classy, and he added his spin to a classic look by rocking a sparkling bowtie that matched the buttons on his double-breasted suit. 

Issa Rae 

Wearing AMI Paris, per E! News, Barbie's Issa Rae took the carpet in a stunning black sparkly dress with a plunging neckline and a high slit. I think it's safe to say this is a look President Barbie would approve of. 

Gabrielle Union 

A power couple in real life and on the red carpet, Gabrielle Union and Dwyane Wade attended the Oscars in fashion. Most notably, the Bring It On actress wore a Carolina Herrera PF24 dress, per E! News, that looked like it was made of diamonds. She paired them with Tiffany & Co. jewelry. Overall, these two shined on the carpet. 

Lupita Nyong'o 

Also wearing Armani Privé, per E! News, Lupita Nyong'o rocked a stunning light blue sparkly gown that was reminiscent of the dress she wore when she won her Oscar in 2014. 

The 12 Years a Slave star, who won in 2014, was there to help announce the Best Supporting Actress award by speaking about Da'Vine Joy Randolph (who was also wearing a matching dress). 

Emily Blunt  

Representing the Oppenheimer cast and celebrating her Best Supporting Actress nomination, Emily Blunt dazzled in a Schiaparelli gown, per People. Her champagne-colored dress was complimented with silver detailing and jewelry from Tiffany & Co. Plus, her hubby John Krasinski was styling right next to her in a matching suit. 

Michelle Yeoh

A year after Michelle Yeoh's historic Oscars win for Everything Everywhere All At Once, she sparkled on this year's red carpet in a custom Balenciaga Couture dress, per Harper's Bazaar. The two-toned sparkling gown was fit for a queen, and she paired it with black opera gloves and statement earrings. Overall, it was the perfect follow-up to her iconic look from the 2023 awards.

The following contains major spoilers for The Marvels.

After far too many delays The Marvels is finally here and, while critics seem to be split on the movie, I really enjoyed it overall. I didn't write the CinemaBlend review for this cosmic adventure, but I agree with it. It was hard for me not to have a great deal of fun with Nia DaCosta's flick, and the chemistry between the three leads was perfect. Of course, as with many Marvel films, a lot of the buzz isn’t about the movie itself, but the future it teases. In the case of this latest Marvel Cinematic Universe installment, fans got two teases, but I am far more excited about one than the other.

The Marvels mid-credits scene -- which saw Teyonah Parris' Monica Rambeau rescued by and recuperating alongside the X-Men of an alternate universe -- was fun. I enjoyed seeing the return of Kelsey Grammer as Beast as much as anybody but, for me, the far bigger deal wasn’t the scene during the credits -- it was the Marvels ending itself. That provided us with a tease of where Kamala Khan's story arc is going, and I am officially excited about what could happen in upcoming Marvel movies or shows.

A New Avengers Team Is Beginning To Assemble

The ending of The Marvels plays like the original Iron Man post-credits scene but as done by an awkward teenager, because it was. It sees Kamala Khan (a.k.a Ms. Marvel) hiding in a dark corner of Kate Bishop’s apartment, before telling her that she’s putting together a team. Many have wondered what the future might hold for the Avengers as a team, and it looks a younger is on the way. 

A lot of what we’ve seen throughout Phase 4 and Phase 5 of the MCU has involved the introductions of alternate versions (or variants) of characters as well as iconic mantles being passed on to new holders. For a while, there have been signs of a Young Avengers team being introduced in this continuity, so this concept certainly isn’t new. However, this is our first official confirmation that such a thing is actually in the cards.  

I Already Love Most Of The Characters That Will Likely Make Up The New Team 

After viewers were introduced to “the Avenger Initiative” in 2008's Iron Man, the rest of Phase One introduced the characters that would be part of it. At this point, we’ve likely already met the characters that will probably be part of this new avenging team, and I pretty much love all of them.

We, of course, we have Iman Vellani's Ms. Marvel and Hailee Steinfeld's Kate Bishop, who has taken up the mantle of Hawkeye. I love these characters in large part because the actresses who play them are phenomenal, and so I’m excited to see both of them take on more prominent roles in the MCU and mix it up. During The Marvels' conclusion, Kamala Khan also mentions that “Ant-Man has a daughter,” so it seems likely that Cassie Lang, played by Kathryn Newton, (who showed her capabilities under pressure in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania) could also join up.

But beyond that, there are a few other very likely candidates to be part of this new team that we already know of. Black Panther: Wakanda Forever showcased two of them. In that film, Shuri became the newest character to take on the mantle of the titular Panther. The film also introduced tech prodigy Riri Williams, whose story will be expanded upon in DIsney+'s upcoming Ironheart TV show down the road. Florence Pugh’s Yelena Belova, who has crossed paths with Bishop, would make an excellent member. Though she may not join up given that she's slated to be a part of the Thunderbolts lineup, but she could pull double duty, I think. Also, I'd personally love to see Tatiana Maslany's She-Hulk make a return. Though Jennifer Walters might be a bit too old for a “Young” Avengers team,  this group is going to need somebody to keep an eye on them, right?

There are even more characters who, while they seem less likely to get in, could still factor into the future of the Avengers. America Chavez is out there, and she has an ability that may prove useful. Wanda and Vision’s children don’t currently exist in the main MCU timeline, but that doesn’t mean they won’t show up somewhere at some point. Even Thor’s surrogate daughter, Love, could end up joining up. She seems a little young, even for this team but, with Stormbreaker in her hand, she brings a lot to the table. There's even Hulk's son, Skaar, could become a member after his debut during She-Hulk's final moments. Though it's unclear whether anything will come to fruition in that regard. The same is true when it comes to Isaiah Bradley's grandson, Eli, who was introduced in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier (and becomes Patriot in the comics).

Ideally, I'd be down to see Kamala, Kate, Shuri, Riri, Yelena, and Cassie Lang make up the roster. Can you imagine seeing them have their own big team moment with the camera circling around them while an epic Avengers theme (one similar to Alan Silvestri’s) fills the theater?

The Multiverse Saga Is Fun, But It’s Not Moving The Story Forward 

Where and when we’ll see this new team take center stage is far from clear. It may not even be until the Multiverse Saga is over, or perhaps they'll end up playing a major role in the two upcoming Avengers films. Whatever the plan, there is certainly a lot more of the larger saga left to go.

I’ve enjoyed the Multiverse Saga overall, but my issue with it is that I don’t feel like it’s story is moving along all that swiftly. I’ve gone on record saying that one of the things I love the most about the current MCU is that it has the opportunity to do something Marvel Comics never does, which is to continually move the story forward. And yet, the Multiverse Saga feels like it's stalling in some ways.

A lot of what we’re getting is material that harps on what has come before. We saw Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield in Spider-Man: No Way Home as well as characters from the old X-Men franchise in Doctor Strange and Multiverse of Madness, and now, The Marvels.

I love these appearances as much as any fan, and I won’t pretend that I’m not excited to see Hugh Jackman donning the yellow suit to play Wolverine one more time. Yet there’s such a focus on these heroes of yesteryear, and less so on the heroes of tomorrow. It all feels like a gimmick meant to draw in cash at the box office and less of a way to expand the narrative into interesting territory. The recent rumor that Robert Downey Jr. and Scarlett Johansson might return to the fold was my literal worst fear for the future of this franchise. (Thankfully, that was seemingly debunked when studio head Kevin Feige discussed major MCU topics recently.)

A New Avengers Team Feels Like A Real Next Step For The MCU 

I love aforementioned veteran characters and the actors who play them, but I have the old movies if I want to see them again. I want to see the MCU move forward, with new characters on new adventures, and that includes a new team of Avengers that figure out how to follow in the footsteps of those who came before them. After that, it would be great to see those characters pass the baton to yet another generation, pushing the universe into a future that the comics never see, because they eventually must return to the status quo.

Let's not see that status quo again. This recent tease of a new Avengers team makes me excited for what might come. If this new group is going to be a key part of this saga, then I’ll certainly be paying attention but not because I’m that interested in what happens with the Multiverse but because I just want to know what happens to Earth's Mightiest (New) Heroes.

Earlier this year, the Transformers film series resumed with Transformers: Rise of the Beasts, which followed five years after Bumblebee. However, aside from the mere inclusion of Optimus Prime and Bumblebee, along with an indirect mention of Hailee Steinfeld’s Charlie Watson, Rise of the Beasts wasn’t connected to the 2018 spinoff; one could walk into this 2023 new movie release and easily follow along without knowing anything about the yellow Autobot’s adventure with Charlie in 1987. So will Bumblebee ever get a proper sequel? Steinfeld offered her thoughts on the subject.

The actress, who’s other major credits include True Grit, The Edge of Seventeen, Hawkeye and Dickinson, briefly discussed Bumblebee while chatting with THR about her newest movie, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, which sees her reprising Gwen Stacy, the Spider-Woman of Earth-65. When Steinfeld was asked if she was surprised that a direct sequel wasn’t made for Bumblebee considering it’s the best-reviewed movie in the Transformers franchise, she answered:

Shortly after Bumblebee’s release, director Travis Knight shared that he had ideas for a sequel if he was able to make it, and in late January 2019, Bumblebee 2 was reported to be in development. Hailee Steinfeld also said earlier that same month that she’d be game to do another Bumblebee movie since she felt that Charlie “got so much to say, a lot more to learn and a long way to go.” But as she laid out with this latest statement, it’s not as though Steinfeld was expecting to work on Bumblebee 2, because with the way she works, she prefers to live in the moment rather than dedicate a lot of thought to upcoming/prospective projects.

Ultimately Paramount Pictures deciding to resume the main Transformers film series after Bumblebee rather than continue that spinoff’s story, although rather than returning to the present day, i.e. post-The Last Knight, Rise of the Beasts was set in 1994. At this point, it seems unlikely that Bumblebee 2 will ever get off the ground, but that’s not to say that Steinfeld couldn’t still reprise Charlie Watson someday. If the next live-action Transformers movie is set post-Rise of the Beasts, but pre-2007’s Transformers, perhaps that could be a platform to see how a Charlie in her late 20s or early 30s is doing.

In addition to Paramount announcing back in early 2022 that Transformers: Rise of the Beasts would be the first of three new installments in the franchise, the ending laid the groundwork for a crossover with G.I. Joe. That said, it hasn’t been officially clarified yet what’s up next on the live-action Transformers front. Instead, this continuity is pivoting to animation with Transformers: One, which will explore the origins of the robots in disguise, including Optimus Prime and Megatron’s relationship, on Cybertron.

If you missed seeing Transformers: Rise of the Beasts in theaters, it, along with Bumblebee and the other live-action movies, can be streamed with a Paramount+ subscription. Transformers: One is slated on the 2024 movie release schedule for September 13.

At this point, it seems like calling Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse one of the most remarkable visual achievements in film is a pedestrian statement. The beauty of the film is well understood, but even within a movie that is beautiful, there are elements of it that are even more incredible, and the watercolor world of Gwen Stacy is one of them. The world changes with the emotions of Gwen Stacy and voice actress Hailee Steinfeld called the world a “mood ring.”

CinemaBlend’s own Sean O’Connell had a chance to speak with the cast of Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse and he asked the voice of Gwen Stacy about Gwen’s world since it wasn’t something she was able to actually see until the film was completed. She was, however, told what the world would look like, or more accurately, how it would feel, and the filmmakers clearly nailed that goal perfectly. Steinfeld explained…

Miles Morales is still the ultimate protagonist of the franchise, but Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse is just as much a Gwen Stacy movie, the primary character arc of the film is actually hers, as she grapples with decisions that she must make, and how those choices will impact the people that she cares about. 

There’s an almost ethereal quality to the world of Gwen Stacy in Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse. While the world of Miles Morales feels more like our own, Gwen’s is much more abstract. Most of Gwen’s world that we actually see is her apartment, but even that changes from one scene to the next, and even one shot to the next, as Gwen’s emotions literally color her world.

Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse gave us only the briefest glimpses of the different worlds that the various Spider-Man characters came from. Across the Spider-Verse takes Miles Morales out of his own world and lets him visit other places, which gives the animators the ability to create words as diverse as the characters that inhabit them. 

Based on the critical response to Across the Spider-Verse as well as the film’s box office success, the bar has been set quite high for the final film in the trilogy. The Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse ending tells us where the next movie will begin, but there are few Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse details out there, so where it will go, and how it will top what has come before it, is anybody’s guess at this point.  

Warning: MILD SPOILERS for Transformers: Rise of the Beasts are ahead!

In 2018, the Transformers film series wound the clock back to 1987 for Bumblebee, which chronicled the eponymous Autobot meeting Hailee Steinfeld’s Charlie Watson. Transformers: Rise of the Beasts picks up with Bee, Optimus Prime and their allies in 1994, and while the 2023 new movie release chiefly stands as a standalone sequel, there is a quick reference to Charlie. However, director Steven Caple Jr. has revealed that Rise of the Beasts nearly included a bigger callback to Steinfeld’s character.

Charlie is indirectly referred to in Transformers: Rise of the Beasts shortly after Mirage has introduced Anthony Ramos’ Noah Diaz to Optimus Prime, Bumblebee and Arcee. Optimus is hesitant to trust any humans, which Bee objects to, prompting the Autobot leader to acknowledge that a human had indeed been kind to him seven years earlier. Caple told THR that there was a more direct moment involving Charlie that ended up being cut from Rise of the Beasts:

The beginning of Bumblebee saw Optimus Prime ordering the yellow Autobot to flee the war-torn Cybertron and go to Earth to set up a base of operations for their surviving allies. After his memory was damaged when the Decepticon known as Blitzwing attacked him on our world, Bee went into hiding as a 1967 Volkswagen Beetle in a scrapyard, and it was this car Charlie Watson decided to buy for her 18th birthday. Soon discovering the true nature of her purchase, Charlie and Bee became friends, and the latter protected the former from Shatter and Dropkick. Sadly, the end of Bumblebee saw Charlie and Bee going their separate ways, and Rise of the Beasts made it clear that they haven’t seen each other again, with that picture being Bee’s only memento of his time with the girl.

The good news is that as Steven Caple Jr. noted, this scene was Bee’s snapshot will likely be included as a deleted scene on Rise of the Beasts’ home media release. The filmmaker expressed hope that Hailee Steinfeld will reprise Charlie in one of the future Transformers movies. You can read through our Rise of the Beasts ending breakdown to learn where the movie leaves things with Optimus Prime, Bumblebee and the rest of the gang, but suffice it to say that the door’s still open for Bee and Charlie to reunite one day. Even off it’s not through the direct Bumblebee sequel Steinfeld had once hoped to make, it would still be nice to see where Charlie has ended up as an adult.

If you’d like to revisit Bumblebee, it can be streamed with a Paramount+ subscription, and count on Transformers: Rise of the Beasts ending up on the same platform once its theatrical run is over. The next Transformers movie on the docket is the animated Transformers One, which stars Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson and more, and will open on September 13, 2024. The next live-action installment hasn’t been ironed out yet, but we’ll pass along details about it once they start coming in.
