It’s been just over a week since America’s royal wedding between Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce, and people are still buzzing about it. The superstar couple made big headlines with their Madison Square Garden wedding that shut down a few streets in New York City and brought out many Hollywood and sports stars. It seemed like anyone who was anyone got an invite, and that included Shania Twain. However, she was not in attendance, and man, she made it clear that her absence was a bummer!

Twain did, in fact, get an invite to Swift and Kelce's massive (yet intimate) wedding, which isn’t a surprise. Swift started in country, and the “Opalite” singer admitted she was inspired by Twain as she transitioned into pop. However, the "Any Man of Mine" singer revealed to eTalk that she couldn’t attend the wedding, even though she would have loved to. The reason is both a bummer and ironic, and it just shows how schedules can really get in the way:

The country superstar opened up for Harry Styles during his 12-night residency at Wembley Stadium in London for his Together, Together tour. The shows ran from June 12 to July 4, and unfortunately, the Tayvis wedding was on July 3. So, Twain not only just missed it, but also had to open for Styles on the same day Kelce and Swift got married.

It is funny knowing that Twain couldn’t attend because she was opening up for Swift’s ex-boyfriend. However, according to Variety, Styles also reportedly got an invite to the wedding, but of course, he couldn’t attend either because of his tour. His better half, Zoë Kravitz, was in attendance as she is one of Swift’s very good friends.

At the very least, Twain knew about the invite and simply couldn’t go. Meanwhile, some people have been revealing that they got invited to the wedding but thought it was a scam, and I would never forgive myself if that happened to me. Thankfully, that didn't happen to Twain, and while she really wanted to be there, she also had a good reason for missing it.

Meanwhile, more details are being released about the Tayvis wedding, and we finally got a look at Swift’s wedding ring thanks to the fact that they attended Juju Smith-Schuster and Laura Kruk’s wedding in California. Vogue posted pictures from the New York Giants wide receiver and fitness instructor’s outdoor ceremony on Instagram that included the newlyweds with Tayvis, and Swift was seemingly rocking a new ring stack.

As of now, official photos from the Tayvis wedding have not been released, but the Internet is going wild with AI photos, as it did with Zendaya and Tom Holland’s fake wedding photos. However, once we get a real look inside MSG, you best believe I'll be taking it all in. Based on what Shania Twain said about missing the ceremony, I'd guess she will be too.

Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce reportedly invited 1,000 guests to Madison Square Garden to witness the celebrity wedding of the year, and days later we’re still talking about who was (and, perhaps more interestingly, who was not) on that list. Swifties were shook over Karlie Kloss’ golden presence, as the two had a falling out years ago that some fans insist was actually a breakup, but that wasn’t the only blast from the bride’s past in attendance — one A-lister brought another of Matty Healy’s ex-girlfriends.

Liam Hemsworth was in the Garden to see Adam Sandler officiate Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s ceremony, and naturally he brought along his fiancée, Gabriella Brooks, who posted what looked like pre-wedding pics of her and the Hunger Games star on Instagram. Fans were quick to pick up on Brooks’ connection to Swift, as both used to date The 1975 frontman Matty Healy.

Gabriella Brooks reportedly dated Matty Healy from 2015 to 2019 — four years before Taylor Swift’s short-lived romance with him in 2023 that followed her breakup with Joe Alwyn. Swift and Healy may not have been an official item for very long, but the whirlwind romance made quite an impact, with much of The Tortured Poets Department believed to be about Healy.

In the years since, Taylor Swift has apparently gotten close to Gabriella Brooks, who was first linked to Liam Hemsworth in 2019 after her own Matty Healy breakup. Brooks and Hemsworth even attended one of the Eras Tour’s London shows in 2024, per Parade, as she was seen dancing alongside Travis Kelce in the VIP tent.

Surprisingly the connections to Taylor Swift’s ex-boyfriends don’t end there. Sophie Turner was also reportedly on the guest list, and despite both women having dated Joe Jonas, they have a long-established friendship. In fact, when Turner and the Jonas Brother divorced, Swift even let Turner and her daughters stay at her New York apartment — inspiring the actress to call Swift “an absolute hero.”

Then there’s Zoë Kravitz, who is engaged to Harry Styles — another of Taylor Swift’s ex-boyfriends (and song muses). Swift dated the One Direction singer about a million years ago (aka 2012) and has been friends with The Batman actress for over a decade. There’s definitely no bad blood there, and EW reports that Styles was even invited to join his fiancée at the MSG nuptials but was unable to because he’s on tour.

In fact, Harry Styles reportedly surprised fans at his Wembley Stadium concert on Friday by singing “Two Ghosts” — a song widely considered to have been inspired by his and Taylor Swift’s breakup.

A lot has been said (and sung about) over the years regarding Taylor Swift’s dating history, so it’s kind of fun and very interesting to see so many connections to past boyfriends as she settles down with Travis Kelce. It’s been more than a half decade since Olivia Wilde and Jason Sudeikis ended their relationship, and for better or for worse, the general public’s collective fascination has never gone away. This recent chatter started with a podcast appearance from Wilde. I suspect the goal of her story was to talk about reaching the point in a relationship where you’re disconnected, but a lot of fans focused more on the Sudeikis not buying her a gift part and/ or inferred it was a sign he had checked out of their marriage.

Wilde’s quotes were almost immediately everywhere, as were thousands upon thousands of hot takes. Not surprisingly, fans have wanted to hear Sudeikis’ side, but he hasn’t spoken on the record since the interview. Popular ex-publicist turned gossip columnist Rob Shuter from the Naughty But Nice podcast, however, says he’s spoken to sources connected to Sudeikis. They’re allegedly claiming he’s not happy and doesn’t get how any conversation about how their relationship ended doesn’t involve Harry Styles.

That quote and a few others about how Sudeikis allegedly doesn’t want to keep having this conversation in public for the sake of their kids have been picked up by Yahoo, InTouch and more. Since Sudeikis hasn’t gone on the record, we can’t be sure how he really feels, but clearly, a lot of fans are giving some weight to these anonymous quotes.

Regardless, I’m not sure we’ll ever know Styles and Wilde’s true, unfiltered opinions on their relationship or the actualities of what happened. Their relationship ended in 2020. She's always been clear that things ended with Sudeikis before they started with Styles, but that hasn't stopped people from speculating about the timeline and a whole host of other things.

All that chatter became arguably the most discussed story in the entertainment world in 2022 during the Don’t Worry Darling press tour. In the lead-up to the movie, you couldn’t get on the internet without seeing a dozen stories about their personal lives.

From Wilde’s romance with the aforementioned Harry Styles, who also starred in the movie, to alleged drama between Wilde and actress Florence Pugh to the “spitgate” scandal between Styles and Chris Pine, the stories became increasingly more outrageous. Even the couple’s nanny was interviewed.

Since the Booksmart director and the One Direction alum broke up in 2022, Olivia Wilde and Jason Sudeikis have allegedly been able to repair their relationship enough for cordial co-parenting — they were even seen hugging it out in 2023 — so hopefully this latest resurfacing of their past drama doesn’t cause too much of a backslide.

I don’t think we can overstate how big of an event Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s wedding is going to be. Zoë Kravitz and Harry Styles got engaged less than a year after their relationship was outed by a fan who saw them together in Rome. However, they’re apparently wasting no time getting plans in place, as sources for Page Six report that the duo plan to wed before the end of the year.

The celebrity couple is reportedly thinking of having “a small wedding” with just friends and family, though I have to wonder how small that could be for two A-listers of their caliber and Zoë Kravitz’s famous parents. Either way, the Blink Twice director and the Harry’s House artist are allegedly hoping to tie the knot in the UK — where they’ve spent much of their time together — and to do it around Christmas.

I know the warmer months from spring to fall are the more traditional times to get married, but my goodness, how romantic is the thought of a London wedding around the holidays? What’s more, it sounds like they might be following in the celebrity tradition of having multiple ceremonies (Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce may be doing this, too, with one big event to serve as a decoy for a more intimate ceremony).

If Harry Styles and Zoë Kravitz are planning more than one event, it’s very likely New York would be the second location, with another source saying:

A December wedding actually makes sense, given what we know about the couple’s busy schedules. Harry Styles, for one, will be on tour from May to December after releasing his fourth studio album Kiss All the Time. Disco, Occasionally. earlier this year.

In that case, Christmastime might be the couple’s first opportunity to tie the knot, and the thought that they want to do it as soon as possible makes it even sweeter!

Regardless of which celebrity wedding has captured your attention more, I do have to wonder if longtime friends Taylor Swift and Zoë Kravitz have been in contact during the wedding planning process. It will also be interesting to see if they receive invitations to each other’s weddings, especially given the fact that Swift dated Harry Styles way back when.

The big news comes less than a year after the couple was first spotted together in Rome last August, and jewelry experts say the One Direction alum likely dropped quite a pretty penny for the sparkler.

Photographers have been able to capture some pretty clear shots of Zoë Kravitz’s engagement ring, with experts telling Page Six that the stone appears to be a cushion-cut diamond set in a yellow gold bezel. Laura Taylor of Lorel Diamonds estimates its cost at up to $600,000, saying:

Ajay Anand, CEO of Rare Carat, meanwhile, agrees the bezel makes the ring appear “seriously huge,” while also giving it an “effortlessly chic, almost understated feel despite the sheer size of the stone.” However, he thinks Harry Styles may have dropped an even higher dollar amount for what Anand estimates is a 10- to 12-carat diamond. He thinks it’s worth possibly as much as $800,000.

With no official word from the celebrity couple, we can’t be sure which designer Harry Styles chose to craft the ring, but Laura Taylor noted:

If these estimates are correct, the sparkler given to Zoë Kravitz by Harry Styles is an upgrade from the ring she received from Channing Tatum back in 2023. The Blink Twice star gifted his director with a 7-carat Jessica McCormack cushion-cut diamond in a solitaire setting that was valued at somewhere between $300,000 and $500,000. The couple split in 2024 after three years of dating, without ever making it to the altar.

Zoë Kravitz was also previously married to Karl Glusman. They were married for about a year and a half before she filed to end the marriage in 2020. The divorce was finalized in 2021.

You know what they say — the third time’s the charm, or at least that’s likely what Zoë Kravitz is hoping. Meanwhile, Harry Styles has dated a lot of famous women but has never before been engaged or married.

All the Directioners who’ve been missing their favorite boy band found some excitement back in October when it was announced that Louis Tomlinson and Zayn Malik would be teaming up for a documentary series for those with a Netflix subscription. Sadly, a new report has indicated that the project has been canceled by the streamer after a physical altercation occurred between the two One Direction members on set.

The On-Set Incident That Allegedly Led To One Direction Doc Taking A Turn

Zayn Malik and Louis Tomlinson were apparently filming the road-trip style three-part series six months ago on location when Malik allegedly “started acting up and mouthing off.” Somehow, this led to him bringing up Tomlinson's late mother, Johannah Deakin, who died of Leukemia back in 2016. In the singers’ fit of anger, Malik reportedly “attacked” Tomlinson with a punch “straight in the face.” As The Sun report added:

Apparently, since the incident, Malik and Tomlinson haven’t been able to patch things up, and Netflix decided to axe the show. The reported decision is a blow to Netflix since the series allegedly “cost millions to make” after the streamer thought “they’d hit the jackpot” by getting two One Direction members to star together.

Commenting on what allegedly caused this, the source claimed:

After the incident, which took place in Wyoming, Louis Tomlinson went back home to the UK after getting medical attention for his injury, and Zayn Malik retreated to his farm in Pennsylvania. Netflix had hoped the pair would settle things and they’d get to pick up where they left off, but last month, the plug was allegedly pulled on the show.

The two One Direction members used to have a beef that allegedly started back in 2015 when Tomlinson mocked a photo of Malik and his bandmate responded by saying “remember when you had a life and stopped making bitchy comments about mine?” and continued with a series of other small incidents here and there between them, including Tomlinson getting upset that Malik didn’t come to his first solo performance on The X-Factor finale when he had previously promised to.

The “Aperture” singer (who also has one of the best cameos in the MCU) said running played a part in Kiss All The Time. According to what a source has told People, Harry Styles’ upcoming schedule is nothing the couple can’t handle. Per the report:

You’d think Kravitz might understand the life of a rock star, too, given that she is the daughter of Lenny Kravitz. Plus, she is often booked and busy herself as an actress. Coming up, she’s one of the stars of How To Rob A Bank, which is set to be among 2026 movie releases this fall with Nicholas Hoult, Anna Sawai, Pete Davidson and Christian Slater, and could likely be part of the new seasons of Big Little Lies and The Studio.

Styles and Kravitz’s relationship became public knowledge when they were first spotted together in Rome over the summer, before Styles was seen meeting with her dad, suggesting they were more than just a summer fling. In December, it was reported that the couple were remaining strong despite being on separate continents, and another tip from two weeks ago suggested Kravitz is calling Styles her “soulmate”.

There are a lot of eyes on Harry Styles’ new album, dropping March 6. Could a song or so actually be about Kravitz? Should the actress go on the road with Styles this year, surely we’ll see her disco-ing occasionally alongside the massive sea of fans.

Zoë Kravitz and Harry Styles were first spotted together arm in arm last summer in Europe. The pair have yet to officially discuss their relationship in public, but they’ve been seen enough for it to be clear that the relationship is real. Now, Page Six cites an unnamed “source” that Kravitz is telling her friends that Harry Styles is her “soulmate.”

If this is accurate, that’s certainly a strong word. The source claims that the fact that we’re seeing Styles and Kravitz together enough to know the relationship is real is an indication that it’s serious for Styles as well. It’s great news for both of them if they really have found something special, considering that both stars have their own histories of relationships that did not work out.

Harry Styles likely fills the bill as one of the more “eligible bachelors” in Hollywood. He’s famously dated the likes of Taylor Swift, a good friend of Kravitz, and Kendall Jenner, who was recently spied at a party with her ex’s current girlfriend.

Styles' most public relationship was likely with Olivia Wilde, his director in Don’t Worry Darling, as it became entangled in her split from husband Jason Sudeikis. That relationship appeared quite serious until it was over. Some reports claimed Styles specifically was heartbroken that it ended.

I’m, obviously, not the only one freaking out about this either; fans are also losing their minds over the reveal of the project’s cover, release date and title.

After a whole lot of speculation and waiting, Harry Styles announced his new album, Kiss All The Time. Disco, Occasionally. on Instagram. He also revealed that the project will be released on March 6. To add even more reason to be excited, he dropped the album cover too, which you can see below:

This news comes nearly four years after the release of his last album, Harry’s House. Before that 2022 project, he dropped Fine Line in 2019 and his self-titled album in 2017. So, it’s safe to say, this has been a long time coming.

To put that statement into perspective, since 2022, Taylor Swift has released five albums, including two re-recordings and her latest project, The Life of a Showgirl. So, needless to say, I was getting antsy for more music from Harry Styles, seeing as my other favorite artists dropped new music year after year.

Anyway, all this is to say, the announcement of Kiss All The Time. Disco, Occasionally. has fans feeling all kinds of ways. They made that clear in the comments of Styles’ post too, writing things like:

Really, the all-caps reactions are so valid. This is crazy, exciting news. For the last couple of years, Harry Styles has kept a very low profile. We really only heard about him every once in a while. For example, in 2025, there were some dating rumors going around about him and Zoë Kravitz, with reports occasionally popping up about how their relationship was holding up. Oh, and he ran a marathon.

He was also among the many who paid tribute to Liam Payne following his death in 2024. In fact, Styles' most recent Instagram post before he made his album announcement was about the late One Direction member.

Outside of things like the aforementioned events, we haven’t heard much from Styles. The last stop of Love on Tour happened in July of 2023, and as I stated, he hasn’t released an album since 2022. So, yeah, it’s insanely big news that he’s finally dropping new music in 2026.

So, everybody get ready, Harry Styles is back, and he’s returned with a bunch of new songs that will be released on March 6!

Celebrity relationships in Hollywood are interesting, given that so many people run in the same circles, and that's no different for reported partners Zoë Kravitz and Harry Styles. Believe it or not, Styles' (alleged) current girlfriend recently ran into one of his famous exes, Kendall Jenner. Both Kravitz and Jenner ran into each other during a recent interview and, by the looks of it, the two just seemed to be enjoying each other's company.

While Zoë Kravitz and Harry Styles have yet to publicly discuss their relationship or walk a red carpet together, the pair has been seen together frequently since the summer. Thus far, all indications are that they are an item. Over the past weekend, Kravitz attended a party for W Magazine, without Styles in tow, and got snapped alongside several other stars. The Batman actress was photographed not only with Kendall Jenner but with Hailey Bieber and actress Odessa A’zion as well. Kravitz was looking especially cool in the photo. Check it out:

Styles was reportedly “gutted’ when that relationship came to an end but, now, everybody has seemingly moved on.

Kravitz has her own high-profile previous relationship. She was actually engaged to Channing Tatum, who starred in her directorial debut film, Blink Twice. Tatum and Kravitz were together for about three years before the engagement was called off.

The past has shown us that, as with any relationship, anything can happen with celebrity romances. With that in mind, there's a good chance Zoë Kravitz and Harry Styles will run into plenty more of each other’s famous exes now and then.

That honestly doesn’t seem so bad when those frogs included the likes of Harry Styles but, now that the former One Direction singer has leaped over to Swift’s longtime friend Zoë Kravitz, how does the Eras Tour star feel about it?

It’s been over a decade since Taylor Swift’s short-but-intense romance with Harry Styles — who was the inspiration for "I Knew You Were Trouble" and likely several other songs from her 1989 era. So she allegedly “doesn’t have an issue” with Zoë Kravitz dating him now, according to a source for US Weekly, who said:

Swifties have pieced together several clues over the years that point to the marathon-runner being the muse behind several of Taylor Swift’s songs from 1989. “Style,” for instance, is practically the “As It Was” singer’s name and describes a “James Dean daydream” and “long hair, slicked back, white T-shirt” that seem to allude to her ex.

“Out of the Woods,” meanwhile, references an accident she and Harry Styles were in together with the lyrics: "Remember when you hit the brakes too soon? Twenty stitches in a hospital room," as does “Is It Over Now,” one of the vault tracks from 1989 (Taylor’s Version).

Swifties can continue to enjoy all of the music about Harry Styles. However, it’s good to hear that he and Taylor Swift are both reportedly thriving in their new relationships and that it apparently hasn’t affected her friendship with Zoë Kravitz.

It’s cuffing season, and it looks like there's now more evidence to support the rumor that Harry Styles and Zoë Kravitz might be dating. The two were spotted together this past August in Rome by a fan who captured their outing on video, despite the Don’t Worry Darling actor gently denying a photo because he was “offline” at the moment. The “As It Was” singer is still inactive online, but seemingly a bit more relaxed about sharing his new relationship.

Styles and Caught Stealing actress were captured by paparazzi out on a date Thursday night in New York City. In pictures posted by ET on Instagram, the pair can be seen twinning in pants and loafers, both bundled up in long dark coats to fight the dropping fall temps in NYC. He’s got his mustache and she’s rocking a pixie/bob under a hat, and they both look fabulous. While walking to their destination, Styles and Kravitz hold hands, smiling while in conversation. Ah, I love young love.

I have to say, the smiles look genuine, too. The caption on the post says that the two are reportedly “very into each other,” per an inside source. This isn’t the first time they have been captured strolling around New York like a other couple, either, as Deux Moi posted a video of them out for a coffee run last month.

They certainly look like they are enjoying each other’s company. I like that these pics look more casual than most celebrity date snaps, where usually one person is pulling their partner through a crowd of flashing lights.

Regardless, these two are seemingly finding easy, good company in one another, after a couple years of tumultuous relationships and serious breakups. The former One Direction member was seriously dating Olivia Wilde for nearly two years before their split in late 2023, which reportedly was a rough, emotional time for both of them.

Even more recently, Kravitz called off her engagement with Blink Twice collaborator Channing Tatum. The celebrity pair were together three years before calling it quits, but must be on decent terms, as they both signed onto the upcoming film Alpha Gang. In fact, Kravitz told Elle that she still “cares for him very much” and that she feels “so grateful that (they) got to go on that journey together.”

So the real question is, are Styles and The Batman actress really together? And if they are, will this be long-term? Only time will tell, but signs point to the latter, given the couple was seen out to lunch with the High Fidelity actress’ father, musician Lenny Kravitz.

I’ve got to say, I like this duo, and I selfishly hope they stay together. They both are so effortlessly cool and in touch with themselves; I think they could complement each other well. I would love to see them attend events like the MET Gala, the Grammys, NYFW, or even cheering on the My Policeman actor as he runs another marathon.

The former One Direction member and music superstar has been furthering his acting career and has at least one project in the works. He has also been making headlines due to his love life, as he's now reportedly linked to Zoë Kravitz, but that’s not all. Fans are just finding out Styles completed a marathon, and they have some pretty hilarious reactions. However, the first comment under a post featuring video footage is absolute gold.

Over the weekend, Styles ran the 2025 Berlin Marathon, and he didn’t just run it — he absolutely crushed it. Apparently, the singer’s time came in under three hours, which is pretty impressive given the fact that he’s not a professional. Under a video of Styles running in the marathon posted to Instagram by popular user deuxmoi, fans were in a frenzy. The top comment from user cadence_cameron_ might just be my favorite, though, because it's both clever and simple:

Can someone get this fan a trophy that reads "Best Pun of the Month" please? I’m sure this is not the first One Direction comment made in reference to going in an actual direction that someone has made but, in this case, such a barb is too perfect. According to TMZ, Styles finished the race, which is 26.2 miles, in 1:59:13, running at an average pace of 6:50 per mile. I’ve heard of celebrities having side quests, but putting in time for a marathon is quite the endeavor. It wouldn’t surprise me if Styles were to run more to beat his already highly impressive time. That being said, spending years running around on stage, singing, dancing, and rehearsing can probably feel like a marathon at times. Of course, an actual marathon is a lot more challenging, but Styles seemed to have done it with ease.

Meanwhile, Harry Styles is from the first celebrity to complete in a marathon. Earlier this year, Outlander star Sam Heughan set a personal milestone by running the London Marathon just days before his 45^th birthday and also raising money for blood cancer awareness. Ashton Kutcher ran the New York Marathon years ago with police detail in tow, while former GMA3 hosts Amy Robach and T.J. Holmes ran the NY Marathon as well.

Considering Harry Styles' race time, I would imagine that he put in work to train for that marathon. Quite frankly, it's exciting to see how well he did in the Berlin Marathon, and I'm now wondering what other marathons the Dunkirk alum might take on next. Should he participate in more, let's hope the funny jokes keep on coming from fans.

Zoë Kravitz’s buzz for starring in one of the latest 2025 movie releases, Caught Stealing, has been recently overshadowed by rumors that she’s dating pop sensation Harry Styles. Less than three weeks ago, a fan captured a video of them hanging out in Rome, Italy, leading to speculation of their romance. Now a new report suggests the couple are “more than casual”.

After Kravitz and Styles were seen together on vacation in The Eternal City in late August, they were then spotted holding hands around New York City on September 6. But during their latest outing together over the weekend, they allegedly met with Zoë’s rock star dad, Lenny Kravitz. One might also imagine Lenny and Harry would absolutely get along given their careers as heartthrob rock musicians!

The alleged couple being made known to the public follows Kravitz’s last known long-term relationship with Channing Tatum ending back in October 2024 after being together for three years and planning on getting married. Styles was previously with Bones And All actress Taylor Russell for about a year, per Page Six. With that in mind, it’s safe to assume things are pretty fresh between Kravitz and Styles.

The situation involves Styles' ex-girlfriend, Taylor Russell, who's now reportedly in a relationship with Jordan. The former One Direction member is allegedly taking it pretty hard, as he’s seemingly finding himself in the middle of another love triangle. According to Life and Style Magazine, Styles is having a hard time processing his break up with Russell, who he reportedly split with last May after dating for about a year. The news outlet's source also shared supposed details on what sparked the end of Styles and Russell's romance:

For his performances of classic tracks like "The Last Time" and "It's Only Rock 'n Roll (But I Like It)," the legendary frontman was accompanied by Arcade Fire, Foo Fighters, and Jeff Beck.

Donald Glover

Donald Glover (a.k.a. Childish Gambino) opened his Season 43 SNL episode by singing about his ability to do "anything" in jest but was still able to back up that claim quite sufficiently with his hilarious acting and memorable musical performances. In fact, the episode famously marked the debut of the Atlanta star's hit single, "This is America."

The most memorable highlight from Stevie Wonder's Season 8 SNL episode is when he appeared in a sketch alongside Eddie Murphy (who had portrayed the musician a few times before) as an aspiring Stevie Wonder impersonator seeking his help to perfect his impression. The Grammy-winning singer-songwriter also performed "Overjoyed" that night "Go Home."

Ariana Grande

For her second appearance on SNL in Season 41, Ariana Grande pulled double duty in more than one way. In addition to performing "Dangerous Woman" and "Be Alright" between sketches, one bit saw her demonstrate her impeccable ability for musical impersonations as a Tidal intern who must help when the music streaming platform loses power.

Elton John

Elton John first appeared on SNL as a musical guest on an episode hosted by fellow musician Johnny Cash in 1982 before returning 29 years later to both host and perform songs with Leon Russell from their album, The Union. In addition to the Grammy-winning headliner, it was a pretty star-studded night at Studio 8H, with cameos by Carmelo Anthony, Will Forte, Tom Hanks and Jake Gyllenhaal.

Miley Cyrus

Twice, Miley Cyrus got to be the best of both worlds on SNL. In Season 39, she poked fun at her VMAs performance with Robin Thicke and sang "Wrecking Ball" and "We Can't Stop" and, two years later, was joined by The Flaming Lips" to perform "Karen Don't Be Sad" after an introduction by special guest Hillary Clinton.

Justin Timberlake

Qualified to join SNL's Five-Timers Club both for his hosting and musical performances is Justin Timberlake, who debuted on the show with N*SYNC before pulling double duty for the first of multiple times on October 11, 2003. The pop star and actor has contributed to some of the show's most iconic musical sketches, including three awesome SNL Digital Shorts alongside Andy Samberg as a crass R&B duo.

Taylor Swift

Taylor Swift has appeared at Studio 8H multiple times, acquiring a number of musical guest gigs and a few jaw-dropping SNL cameos under her belt, since becoming one of the most famous people in the world. In Season 35, she showed up for the second time as a musical guest (singing "You Belong With Me" and "Untouchable") and the first time as a host, appearing in a funny fake trailer for a Twilight rip-off called Firelight, among other sketches.

Paul Simon

No one has appeared on SNL as both the host and musical guest more times than Paul Simon, who also became the first to pull double duty on the show's second episode ever before coming back to do it three more times. The singer-songwriter was also the first person to join the Five-Timers Club by musical performances alone.

Chance The Rapper

In addition to being one of the most innovative hip-hop artists of his time, Chance the Rapper proved that he can act and has some impeccable comedic timing the multiple times he has hosted SNL. The second time, in Season 45, he also served as the musical guest and was joined by Megan Thee Stallion for a performance of "Handsome."

Kris Kristofferson

In July 1976, months before leading A Star is Born with Barbra Streisand, singer and actor Kris Kristofferson both sang and acted as an SNL headliner. He was joined by his then-wife Rita Coolidge for "Eddie the Eunuch" and later performed "I've Got a Life of My Own" on his own.

Debbie Harry

The frontwoman for Blondie performed solo on the Valentine's Day episode of SNL's sixth season, which she also hosted. Between sketches, Debbie Harry sang "Love TKO" and "Come Back Jonee" before introducing additional musical guest Funky 4 + 1's "That's The Joint," which became the first rap song performed on television that night.

Garth Brooks

Garth Brooks first served as both host and musical guest on SNL in the show's 23rd season, during which he appeared in sketch where he falls for Chris Kattan's Mango. The country music singer returned to pull double duty a year later but performed his musical numbers as his rock star alter ego, Chris Gaines.

Dolly Parton

For her sole SNL appearance, Dolly Parton hosted and sang in Season 14. The country music legend appeared in multiple comedic bits poking fun at her chest size and performed a couple of tracks from her 1989 album, White Limozeen.

Willie Nelson

February 21, 1987, marked Willie Nelson's second SNL appearance as a musical guest and sole hosting appearance. The influential "outlaw country" legend, who had done some acting before and has acted plenty of times since, was a great fit for the gig and even performed a song with then-cast member Victoria Jackson.

Drake

Before he became one of the most successful rap artists of his time, Drake (née Aubrey Graham) was an actor, best known for his starring role on the Canadian coming-of-age drama, Degrassi: The Next Generation. He reminded audiences that his acting talents have not waned when, after performing as a musical guest in 2011, he returned to SNL to serve double duty in 2014 and again two years later.

Billie Eilish

Billie Eilish became the first person born in the 21st Century to host SNL when she appeared in the Season 47 Christmas episode, which was met with much acclaim despite her not being able to stop laughing in a few sketches. The Grammy and Oscar winner's parents introduced her and her brother Finneas' performance of "Happier Than Ever" before they later returned to perform "Male Fantasy."

Halsey

Before lending her voice to Sing 2 and appearing in the A24 horror movie MaXXXine, Halsey was considered a non-actor who nailed her SNL hosting gig from Season 44. The self-professed fan of the show was a hilarious standout in sketches and also wowed audiences with her musical performances, such as when she painted a full portrait while singing "Eastside."

Ray Charles

Before making a cameo in, arguably, the best movie based on an SNL character, 1980's The Blues Brothers, Ray Charles headlined the fifth episode of the show's third season. The influential musical genius was surprisingly good and sketches and unsurprisingly shined with his performances of "I Can See Clearly Now," "What I'd Say," "Oh, What a Beautiful Morning," and "I Can't Stop Loving You."

Olivia Newton-John

Having gained international fame from playing Sandy in Grease, there was no question that Olivia Newton-John would be a great fit on SNL as both a host and musical guest. The Australian singer and actor actually appeared in a parody of the 1978 musical movie classic when she took the stage for the Season 7 finale, during which she also performed songs from her hit album, Physical.

Frank Zappa

Frank Zappa's hosting duties in SNL's third season were largely seen as a disaster, due to his tendency to go off-script, which is said to be why he never appeared on the show again. However, his performances of "Dancin' Fool," "The Meek Shall Inherit Nothing," and "Rollo" with the Mothers of Invention should still be recognized as highlights of that night.

Quincy Jones

In SNL's 15th season, influential music producer Quincy Jones made his sole appearance on the show as a host and musical guest. However, notably, he was not the only musical guest to appear that night, seen performing "Back On The Block," "The Verb To Be," and "Wee B. Dooinit" with the likes of Take 6, Tevin Campbell, Andrae Crouch, Sandra Crouch, Kool Moe Dee, Big Daddy Kane, Melle Mel, Quincy D III, Siedah Garrett, and Al Jarreau.

Sting

Sting is qualified for the Five-Timers Club with his number of SNL appearances as the musical guest – one of which, in Season 16, also saw him headline as the host. The one-time Police frontman would later return to host the show again in 1997 but with musical guest Veruca Salt.

Harry Styles

In November 2019, Harry Styles made his debut as an SNL host on a night that also saw his induction into the Five-Timers Club as a musical guest. The English singer and actor had previously appeared three times with the boy band One Direction and once as a solo artist in 2017.

Gary Busey

Following his Oscar-nominated performance as the late, eponymous rock 'n roll pioneer in 1978's The Buddy Holly Story, Gary Busey made his sole appearance on SNL as a host. The actor also performed the song "Stay All Night" as one of three musical guests for that episode, the other two being Gregory Hines and Eubie Blake.

Bruno Mars

As he mentioned in his opening monologue, Bruno Mars had no prior acting experience (unless you count his cinematic debut as "Little Elvis" in Honeymoon in Vegas) before appearing as a host in Season 38 of SNL. Nevertheless, he proved to be a fantastic comedic actor in an episode that was also graced with a cameo by Tom Hanks, who showed up to introduce the pop star's performance of "Locked Out of Heaven."

Desi Arnaz

Desi Arnaz used to perform music and comedy on an almost regular basis when starring in the classic TV sitcom, I Love Lucy, as Ricky Ricardo. Therefore, appearing on SNL as both the host and musical guest (alongside his son, Desi Arnaz Jr.) should have been a breeze for the Cuban-born performer.

Lizzo

Lizzo's second appearance on SNL as a musical guest (for which she performed "About Damn Time" and "Special") was also her first time hosting the series. In her Season 47 episode, she proved to be a natural – especially in one sketch as a flutist who cannot play a note with twerking in unison – but also got a few cases of the giggles, endearingly so.

Art Garfunkel

Following his appearances with his one-time singing partner, Paul Simon, Art Garfunkel went solo on March 11, 1978, as the host and musical guest. In addition to his performances of "All I Know," "Scarborough Fair," and "Crying in My Sleep," he was joined by Stephen Bishop for "Wonderful World."

Lily Tomlin

For her first hosting gig, on the sixth episode of SNL's first season, comedy icon Lily Tomlin also filled in as the musical guest, performing "St. James Infirmary" with Howard Shore & the All Nurse Band. In what would now be considered a controversial SNL moment if it was not largely forgotten, Tomlin would return to pull double duty in Season 8 but, for her musical performances, donned blackface to play a male R&B singer character named Pervis Hawkins.

The Marvel Cinematic Universe has become so big that the word “universe” now truly applies. There are so many characters, worlds, multiverses, and magic MacGuffins to keep track of that it can be difficult for even the biggest fan to keep everything straight. In fact, the MCU has so many characters that many of them have been introduced, only to have nothing else to do since. An internet user recently pointed that out and, afterwards, fans didn't hold back their thoughts.

A tweet recently went viral for spotlighting what it called the “current MCU trend" of introducing new characters in big and important ways, only to have them disappear from the narrative. This included Harry Styles' appearance as Eros and Brett Goldstein’s debut as Hercules among others…

The post clearly struck a nerve, as it has been viewed nearly six million times at time of writing. And, to be fair, it’s not wrong. Nothing has happened with these characters since their initial introductions, despite some of them appearing years ago. And they’re not the only ones, as some of the comments have added others to the list…

It would be easy to forget that some of these characters even made appearances in the MCU. Both Hercules and Eros appeared during post-credits sequences, as did the scene that confirmed that Kit Harrington's Dane Whitman would be the Black Knight. Hulk’s son, Skaar, also made a brief appearance at the end of She-Hulk: Attorney At Law but in a blink-and-you-’ll-miss-it sort of way. One X user claimeg they didn't (and still don't) even know who these characters are:

It seems clear that the MCU may be a bit overstuffed. These characters debut, but then all the films that have been released since are about other characters, so there’s no place to continue these stories. This is too bad because at least one fans clearly want to see some of these characters again. Check out what another X user said…

In the case of Kit Harrington’s Black Knight, it feels like there was at least a plan to use him in the upcoming Blade movie, as we heard the voice of Mahershala Ali in the post-credits scene of Eternals. However, since Blade has seen delay after delay, nothing has ever come of it.

With the others, however, it feels like characters were quickly introduced just to have them on hand if and when they’d be needed. And some of the fans responding to the original post are just fine if we never see these characters again. Another X user said...

Of course, it should be said that introducing characters only to not use them, or not use them for a long time, as pointed out by another fan on X. As with so many characters from The Incredible Hulk finally returning in Captain America: Brave New World, we’ve had instances of characters being dormant for extended periods since the early days of the MCU. The aforementioned fan said...

There are certainly a lot of open plot threads in the MCU and a lot of characters who haven’t had much to do. Perhaps some of them will appear in the next Avengers movie or in some other future project. All we can say is there are certainly still plenty of players on the board.

In the meantime, use a Disney+ subscription to stream the various Marvel movies and TV shows in which these briefly introduced characters appeared.

Last month Liam Payne, the former member of One Direction, died in a tragic accident that stunned his fans and friends. The star has now been laid to rest in a funeral that one friend called beautiful and that did good while saying goodbye.

Payne’s former One Direction bandmates, including Harry Styles and Zayn Malik, attended the service. According to The Sun, it was the first time the band had been in one place since they broke up in 2015 and the first time some of the members had seen any of the others since the split. According to one unnamed friend, the service focused on looking past the fame and focused on who Liam Payne really was. The friend said…

Cheryl Tweedy, the mother of Payne’s son, and Bear, the seven-year-old child, were also reportedly in attendance. A floral arrangement reading “Daddy” was photographed at the service. Other celebrities including Simon Cowell and James Cordon were also spotted in attendance at the funeral in Amersham, Bucks. It's unclear if Payne's girlfriend, Kate Cassidy, who reportedly split from the singer just prior to his death, was in attendance.

In the discussion of Liam Payne’s life, a great deal was said about his work to help others, specifically children. Payne reportedly spent thousands of dollars over the years donating to causes and GoFundMe campaigns to help sick children who needed help paying medical bills. The mourners in attendance at the funeral were also asked to donate money, in hopes of building a new children’s cancer center at the Great Ormond Street Hospital in London. On October 16 Liam Payne died after falling from a third-floor balcony in a hotel in Argentina. Drugs were found in Payne’s system. The investigation into how Payne obtained the drugs is ongoing though at least three people have already been arrested.

Payne’s death is still a shock to those who knew him and those who were fans. Whether any more answers regarding how he died will ever be known is far from clear. What is clear is that there were a lot of people who loved him and that his spirit of generosity will continue long after he is gone.

While the list of A-listers who have joined the Marvel Cinematic Universe is long and diverse, another list that’s worth looking into is the wild group of actors, performers and others who have said yes to doing cameos. So, in celebration of those folks, here are the 32 best cameos in the MCU. 

Harry Styles As Eros In The Eternals 

Big names pop up in the MCU all the time, however, they’re almost always well-known actors. While Harry Styles has had a few acting roles, it’s not his primary profession, so yes, it was shocking when the singer showed up as Eros, Thanos’ brother, in the post-credits scene of The Eternals. However, since the film’s release in 2021, Styles’ future in the MCU has remained unknown, leaving his role as simply a cameo and nothing more.  

Blake Lively As Lady Deadpool In Deadpool & Wolverine 

Leading into Deadpool & Wolverine’s release, the speculation about who would play Lady Deadpool was running rampant. However, it wasn’t all too shocking when it was revealed that Ryan Reynolds’ wife Blake Lively was playing the female variant of her partner’s merc with the mouth.  

Sam Neill As Odin’s Actor In Thor: Ragnarok 

While the Thor: Ragnarok cast is stacked with legends like Chris Hemsworth, Anthony Hopkins, Mark Ruffalo, Jeff Goldblum and more, Taika Waititi also assembled quite the ensemble of cameos to play a troupe of actors in Asgard who put on a play about Thor and his family. This included Jurassic Park’s Sam Neill, who portrayed Anthony Hopkins’ King of Asgard, Odin.  

Stan Lee As Various Characters 

While future MCU projects sadly won’t have any in-person Stan Lee cameos, we can always re-watch the Marvel movies in order to see the legendary comic writer. Before his death in 2018, Stan Lee made cameos in just about every Marvel project, whether it was from Marvel Studios, Fox or Sony. 

Some fan-favorite cameos from him included his role as a security guard in Captain America: The Winter Solider, a New York resident being interviewed on the news in The Avengers and an astronaut telling a story to the Watchers in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, among many, many, many others. 

Matt Damon As Loki’s Actor In Thor: Ragnarok 

In the play Loki orchestrated in Thor: Ragnarok that tells the (not so true) story of him and his family, Matt Damon was cast to play the role of Tom Hiddleston’s God of Mischief. Which honestly, is inspired casting. Damon also popped in the non-MCU Deadpool 2. 

Kevin Bacon As Himself In Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special

Bringing a joke from Guardians of the Galaxy full circle almost eight years later, Peter’s hero Kevin Bacon finally appears. However, it’s kind of against his will, because Drax and Mantis decide to go to Earth and steal the Footloose actor to give to Chris Pratt’s character as a gift of holiday cheer.  

Miley Cyrus As Mainframe In Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2

In Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, we see a group of Ravagers approach The Guardians. One of them is a robot head named Mainframe, and it's voiced by Miley Cyrus.

Trevor Noah As Griot In Black Panther

Much like how Paul Bettany voiced J.A.R.V.I.S., Trevor Noah voiced Griot, Shuri’s artificial intelligence she uses at her lab in Wakanda in Black Panther. 

Melissa McCarthy As Hela’s Actress In Thor: Love and Thunder 

Adding to the mix of A-listers playing actors who are playing Thor characters (try saying that five times fast), Melissa McCarthy took on the role of Cate Blanchett’s Hela – the goddess of death – in Thor: Love and Thunder. She joined the theatrical company that already featured Sam Neill, Matt Damon and Luke Hemsworth to reenact the events of Thor: Ragnarok in Taika Waititi’s second movie about the God of Thunder.

Kenneth Branagh As Asgardian Distress Call In Avengers: Infinity War

You probably know that Kenneth Branagh directed the first Thor movie. However, what you might not know is he provided a meaningful Easter egg for Avengers: Infinity War. He voiced the Asgardian Distress Call that was played after Thanos attacked their ship. 

Luke Hemsworth As Thor’s Actor In Thor: Ragnarok 

Who else could play Chris Hemsworth’s Thor in an Asgardian play about the adventures of the God of Thunder and his family? Truly, picking Luke Hemsworth to play his real-life brother’s character was fantastic! Tom Morello As Gaurd In Iron Man

Rage Against the Machine’s Tom Morello made one of the first cameos in the MCU when he popped up for a quick second in Iron Man. In the movie, he played a guard in the Ten Rings camp that Tony Stark was being held at. 

Joan Rivers As Herself In Iron Man 3

Along with Bill Maher and a bunch of other TV personalities, Joan Rivers popped up to rib on War Machine’s rebranding in Iron Man 3. 

Harry Dean Stanton As Security Guard In The Avengers

In The Avengers, there’s a security guard who finds Bruce Banner after he crashes into the Earth as Hulk. That guard is played by Harry Dean Stanton, who is best known for his roles in classic films like Alien, The Green Mile, Paris Texas and Repo Man. 

Justin Theroux As Police Officer In Iron Man 2

Not only did Justin Theroux write Iron Man 2, but he also had the smallest blink-and-you-’ll-miss-it cameo, per CBR. He played one of the police officers who arrested Justin Hammer and escorted Pepper Potts off the premises toward the end of the film. 

Rob Zombie As Ravager Navigator In Guardians of the Galaxy

In many of James Gunn’s movies, Rob Zombie makes a cameo. After doing that for Slither and Super, he lent his voice to his friend's first Marvel movie by voicing a Ravager Navigator in Guardians of the Galaxy. 

Megan Thee Stallion As Herself In She-Hulk: Attorney at Law

We can thank Jameela Jamil for Megan Thee Stallion’s incredible cameo in She-Hulk. The rapper appeared in an episode of the Disney+ show during a courtroom scene, and then she popped up one more time to twerk with the titular attorney. 

David Hasselhoff As Himself In Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2

When Chris Pratt’s Peter Quill was a kid he’d pretend that David Hasselhoff was his dad. So, in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 Hasselhoff was part of one of the songs on the soundtrack – “Guardians Inferno” –  and it plays during the end credits. And at the very end of those credits, you can see his face pop up as he says the final words of the song. Talk about an epic cameo.

Brett Goldstein As Hercules In Thor: Love and Thunder

In the post-credit scene for Thor: Love and Thunder, Brett Goldstein appeared as Hercules. In his brief scene, he was shown speaking with Russell Crowe’s Zeus. It was thrilling to see the Ted Lasso star show up as the son of Zeus, however, it’s been years since that happened, and he hasn’t shown up again. 

Ken Jeong As Security Guard In Avengers: Endgame

Before the Russo Brothers were making big fancy Marvel movies, they worked on Community. So, it’s always fun to see actors from that show pop up in the MCU. For example in Avengers: Endgame, Ken Jeong appeared for a quick cameo as a security guard who is watching over the storage unit that Ant-Man’s van is in. 

Nathan Fillion As Monstrous Inmate In Guardians of the Galaxy And Headpool In Deadpool And Wolverine

You can see Nathan Fillion (looking like himself) as a major member of the supporting cast in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, as he plays Master Karja. However, before that, he had a cameo in James Gunn’s first Guardians movie, because he voiced “Monstrous Inmate.” After that, he voiced Headpool during the Deadpool variant fight in Deadpool and Wolverine. 

Brad Pitt As The Vanisher In Deadpool 2

Now, I fully realize Deadpool 2 wasn’t technically in the MCU, but Deadpool and Wolverine is, so this counts. One of the most fun cameos maybe ever came when Brad Pitt appeared for a split second in the Ryan Reynolds-led sequel to play The Vanisher right as he gets electrocuted. 

Joe Russo As Grieving Man In Avengers: Endgame

Joe and Anthony Russo are best known as the guys behind the camera who led some of the best Marvel movies, including Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Captain America: Civil War, Avengers: Infinity War, and, of course, Avengers: Endgame. So, in this big finale for the MCU’s Infinity Saga, Joe Russo made a cameo as part of Steve Rogers' support group. 

Yvette Nicole Brown As S.H.I.E.L.D. Agent In Avengers: Endgame

The Russo Brothers didn’t forget their roots, and included multiple members of the Community cast in their Marvel movies. This included Yvette Nicole Brown, who played a S.H.I.E.L.D. agent that Tony Stark and Steve Rogers run into when they go back in time to steal Pym Particles. 

David Bradley As Tower Keeper In Captain America: The First Avenger

David Bradley is a legendary British character actor, and you’ll likely recognize him for his role as Filch in the Harry Potter cast or as The Doctor in various episodes of Doctor Who. He also notably played a small role as the Tower Keeper protecting the Tesseract in Captain America: The First Avenger.

Danny Pudi As Com Tech #1 In Captain America: The Winter Soldier

The Russo Brothers adore their Community cast, so in their first Marvel movie, they gave Danny Pudi, Abed himself, a little cameo. For a brief minute, you can see him as Com Tech #1 during the beloved Captain America sequel. 

Garrett Morris As Car Driver In Ant-Man

While Ant-Man himself is played by a comedy legend, that actor being Paul Rudd, there’s another hilarious icon in this cast. Yep, original Saturday Night Live cast member Garrett Morris (who actually dressed up as the superhero on the sketch comedy show back in the day) appeared in this movie as a man driving a car that Ant-Man fell onto, and it’s fantastic!

Matthew McConaughey As Cowboypool In Deadpool and Wolverine

When all the variants of Deadpool appeared to fight Deadpool and Wolverine, one of them was Cowboypool. Fittingly, the Western Merc with the Mouth was voiced by Matthew McConaughey.

Henry Cavill As Cavillrine In Deadpool and Wolverine

When Wade Wilson was looking for a Wolverine to bring back to his universe, he came across one version of Logan who was played by Henry Cavill. After seeing fanart of the former Superman as the X-Man, it was clear he was a good fit for the part, and it was incredible to see Deadpool and Wolverine act on the fans’ wishes. 

As you can see the range of these cameos is wide, and frankly legendary. And we’re sure that as Marvel continues to release movies and TV shows, the iconic cameos will keep coming. 

Simon Cowell has helped discover many A-list musicians through his work on American Idol and X Factor. However, his biggest success story is probably the formation of One Direction. In the 2010s the boyband took the world by storm, and following their breakup Harry Styles, Niall Horan, Zayn Malik, Louis Tomlinson and Liam Payne went on to have successful solo careers with some reaching incredible levels of superstardom by themselves. Now, the judge who brought them together is reflecting on signing them after X Factor, and he revealed his one “regret” about their deal.

When it comes to a One Direction reunion, Simon Cowell has said he’s here for it, and every once in a while he throws it back to the old days when 1D was on X Factor to reminisce. However, he also recently said on The Diary of a CEO podcast that he doubts they’ll ever get back together. When One Direction was signed, the five members of the band got the rights to its name. Cowell didn’t get any of it. Now, it sounds like the judge regrets it because he’s not able to capitalize on it since the members are no longer together. 

Now, all five have careers of their own, and the prospect of 1D coming back together is slim to none. With Harry Styles being a megastar, Niall Horan finding success through his solo career and his work as a coach on The Voice, and Zayn Malik, Louis Tomlinson and Liam Payne all releasing multiple solo projects, all of them are thriving by themselves. Therefore, Cowell can’t capitalize on One Direction at the moment. 

He went on to explain this regret further, saying: 

If Simon Cowell had ownership of the name One Direction it seems like he would have continued to keep creating work under it. Whether that’s a TV special or having a few of the members tour without some of the others, he wouldn't have let the name slide into the past as its members moved forward. 

Cowell went on to explain that he believes they all own 20% of the name, and that led him to say that at times he can be “naive.”  The former American Idol judge said:

So, if he goes on to discover another boyband who becomes as big as One Direction, he’ll be keeping the name. However, while he said he has plans to do just that on the podcast, he’s also very busy with his various judging gigs, because America’s Got Talent just kicked into high gear on the 2024 TV schedule. 

With all that in mind, it’s interesting to hear Simon Cowell reflect on one of the most successful moments of his career and point out what he would have done differently. While he occasionally does not like the finalists who end up on shows like the Got Talents and X Factor, sometimes he strikes gold and gets a phenomenon like One Direction. However, even when you reach that level of success, there's still room for regret, as the judge explained.

While I didn’t read the 2017 novel the movie is based on, ever since I heard of it, the internet told me it was another instance of “Harry Styles fanfiction” – which is apparently a genre now? But upon further research and revelations, including pressing play on the new release, I’ve learned that The Idea Of You is much more than fangirl fuel for the former One Direction singer, and I need to talk about it!

Now, it’s not like the Harry Styles comparison for The Idea Of You is coming out of left field. An entire franchise of romance films called the After movies are actually inspired by the “Watermelon Sugar” singer, and there’s of course a whole segment of the internet who writes their own narratives about the pop star. Upon watching The Idea Of You trailer, it’s easy to spot some similarities between Nicholas Galitzine’s Hayes Campbell and Harry Styles. They are both brunette British men with artsy tattoos and boy bands. But there’s more to the movie than fantasy fuel for Directioners!

Is The Idea Of You Inspired By Harry Styles Fanfiction? 

The short answer is no. While it’s become a popular belief that The Idea Of You is based on Harry Styles fanfiction like After is, its author, Robinne Lee, has actually shared disappointment over the popular comparison. That said, he is an influence. Lee has shared prior that she was up late one night, watched Styles music videos online and was inspired to write the novel. However, he’s not the only man she thought of. She also injected the likes of Prince Harry, Eddie Redmayne and even her own past lovers to create the male lead in The Idea Of You.

What Has The Idea Of You Author Said About The Comparison?

When speaking to Entertainment Weekly upon the release of The Idea Of You movie, Robinne Lee clarified her influences. Here’s what she said:

As Lee also explained, she grew up as the daughter of two Jamaican parents before its independence from the British, and she admits to being “a bit of an Anglophile” who has found herself particularly attracted to posh British boys. She continued:

Nowadays, Lee says she actually regrets citing Harry Styles as an inspiration due to the way the novel has been compared to the singer so widely. She chalks it up to Styles being “just what people gravitated to,” perhaps because he’s one of the most popular pop stars out there right now!

Did Nicholas Galitzine Base Hayes Campbell On Harry Styles? 

When it comes to the making of The Idea Of You movie, the actor behind the male lead of Hayes Campbell, played by Nicholas Galitzine, has sung a similar tune when it comes to Harry Styles comparisons. Here’s how he responded to his character being compared to Styles:

Be that as it may, of course the internet noticed the similarities between Hayes Campbell’s boy band to One Direction in the movie as soon as the trailer dropped. As I watched the movie itself, I would agree that while Galitzine could pass off as a Harry Styles lookalike, he really doesn’t give the impression of someone who is doing an impression of the singer. Additionally, from the outside, one could make the comparison between Harry Styles and Olivia Wilde’s whirlwind romance since they hold a quite similar age gap. However, the novel was written years before the couple formed, so that’s purely coincidental.

And unlike Styles, the trajectory of Hayes is someone who has been in a boy band for many years and has not branched out into the solo world of pop stardom like Harry. He’s clearly a celebrity who has amassed a lot of attention and love, but he’s wrestling with wanting to find something real in a world that is always watching and perhaps, objectifying him.

Why I Think You Should Watch The Idea Of You Regardless Of Your Thoughts On Harry Styles 

While I thought The Idea Of You was going to be specifically made for the Harry Styles stans, after watching it I can confirm that it’s truly an enjoyable romantic comedy regardless of your thoughts on the One Direction singer. It’s totally its own thing, in my opinion, even though of course August Moon feels inspired by the popular British boy band. Since the movie came out, a lot of viewers have been comparing it to romantic comedy classic Notting Hill, and it's getting rave first reactions. I would agree with this hype.

I was particularly attracted to the grounded love story at the center of The Idea Of You. While I thought it would be a kind of Fifty Shades Of Grey-esque romance with bad dialogue, I found myself really buying the romance between Hathaway and Galitzine. This is especially in terms of Hathaway’s character, who kind of lost her sexuality in 20s because she fell in love and had her daughter at a very young age. As the movie progresses, her character gets to confront healing her own wounds while Hayes heals his own regarding the loneliness her’s acquired with his fame.

All and all, The Idea Of You is simply a great and rather unique entry into the romantic comedy genre that you’ll enjoy whether you’re into One Direction and Harry Styles or not! You can enjoy it now with an Amazon Prime subscription!

He might be known nowadays as a solo artist and Gigi Hadid's baby daddy, but to a large portion of the planet, Zayn Malik will forever be one-fifth of One Direction. Despite the fact that, since leaving the musical group back in 2015, Malik hasn't remained all that close with his former bandmates—from his supposed feud with Louis Tomlinson to Harry Styles not appreciating Malik trashing his boyband origins. However, the "What I Am" crooner was happy to reminisce about his wild days with 1D during a recent interview, and he even revealed how he stopped Styles from getting burned during a show.

While appearing on Hot Ones to promote his highly anticipated fourth studio album, Room Under the Stairs, Malik was asked by host Sean Evans about the "worst technical difficulty or machine malfunction" the singer-songwriter ever experienced while performing on stage, like getting "burned by pyro or [having] to endure a prolonged power outage." Malik then revealed:

Photos at the time of the 2013 near-disaster were published by The Daily Mail, showing the then-19-year-old Styles standing perilously close to the pyro flames. If it hadn't been for Malik's quick thinking and him pulling his bandmate to safety, Styles' face and famously floppy locks would likely have been singed by the flames. (It's especially ironic that Zayn was the one to save Harry, as the former revealed that the two men barely even talked while they were in One Direction together.)

The pyro panic was far from the only on-stage snafu that the band -- which also included singer (and The Voice coach) Niall Horan and Liam Payne -- experienced during their sold-out world tours. Malik told Evans that the group had a surprising go-to song that they would sing acapella to appease fans when their microphones were faulty during power outages:

But now that the boyband gods have brought the likes of *NSYNC back together, maybe Zayn and the 1D fellas could put their differences aside for a long-awaited reunion. Just no pyro, please!

Anne Hathaway is making her triumphant return to the romantic comedy genre during the 2024 movie release schedule in Amazon’s The Idea of You. In it, she plays a divorced mother who falls in love with Hayes (played by Red, White & Royal Blue’s Nicholas Galitzine), the “it” member of her daughter’s favorite band, August Moon, after they meet at Coachella. 

Adapted from the Robinee Lee novel of the same name, the story was loosely inspired by the real-life singer and One Direction member Harry Styles. The trailer released earlier this week along with a handful of promotional pictures of Galitzine and the rest of the fictional August Moon band members set the internet ablaze. Mostly, One Direction and Harry Styles fans who instantly made connections between the fictional August Moon and their beloved boy band. As expected, they took to social media to share their thoughts. 

X User @laurengarfano clocked the similarities between a press photo of the RWRB actor as Hayes and its similarities to a common Styles pose instantly, promptly tweeting: 

It seems “loosely” inspired by Harry Styles might not be the most accurate term to describe this movie as this fan pointed out that the creators don't seem to be hiding the similarities. If it were just one photo that would be one thing, but there are a dozen of clips and images of Galitzine that are basically exact replicas of the Grammy Award-winning singer. 

Regardless of how the movie performs, one thing that’s certain is that the Cinderella star definitely did his research for the role. In fact, some fans have even begun speculating what videos of the One Direction member the actor studied because the similarities are just too uncanny. While another X User answered the hypothetical question, tweeting: 

It's not just the mannerisms or the interesting array of tattoos though that has fans speculating about the eery similarities, but the entire August Moons band as a whole. A brand new Instagram account for the fictional band was created and immediately shared photos of Galitzine and the rest of the actors of The Idea of You in the boy band. The comments on almost all of the posts are unsurprisingly flooded by One Direction fans sharing their reactions:

As if the aesthetics of the band weren’t enough, the stage setup is similar to those used on One Direction’s massive world tours and the first August Moon single also sounds like it belongs in the real boy band’s discography. However, this might be more intentional than the other similarities since the song “Dance Before You Walk” is written by the same duo who penned 1D’s debut single “What Makes You Beautiful.” 

While fans may never know how much, if any, One Direction research the creatives behind The Idea of You did while bringing August Moon to life, Directioners should definitely tune into the movie to see how deep the similarities actually go. Thankfully it’ll be for fans to do since the movie will be available to all Prime Video subscribers starting May 2nd. 

While everyone thought the re-release of Reputation would be Taylor Swift’s next project, she surprised the world by announcing a totally new album called The Tortured Poets Department. The title alone evokes a lot of questions about what the project will be about and why she decided to write these songs. However, after the track list came out, it became clear that this is likely a break-up album, and the questions started overflowing.

So, now we’re here to break some of them down. How are Harry Styles and The Little Mermaid connected to a song on Swift’s 17-song track list? Is this album about Swift’s breakup with Joe Alwyn? How are the Olsen Twins involved with this project’s style? All those inquiries and more will be discussed and theorized below, so let’s get into it.

How Could The Little Mermaid And Harry Styles Be Connected To “But Daddy I Love Him?”

So, there’s a lot to unpack with Swift’s track “But Daddy I Love Him,” which you can see in the tracklist below. Right after the tracklist was announced, Swifties were quick to connect this song to both The Little Mermaid and the singer’s ex Harry Styles, which is an unexpected combo.

Let’s start with The Little Mermaid. Over on Twitter, @pizzalynda pointed out that Ariel (whom Swift dressed up as for Halloween in 2019) says “But Daddy I love him” while talking to her dad about the prince she trades her voice for. That movie came out in 1989, which was the year Swift was born, and the name of her album that supposedly features songs about her ex Harry Styles.   

This brings us to the “Adore You” singer, who fans suspect is the subject of many Vault tracks on the re-release of 1989. There’s a famous photo of him wearing a T-shirt that reads “But Daddy I love him," which you can see in @kingofmyhearts tweet about the subject. That is an odd coincidence. 

Is this song about Styles? Or is it about Joe Alwyn? In The Little Mermaid, Ursula takes Ariel’s voice so she can meet and fall in love with the prince. While Swift was with her ex, she lived mostly in private. This has led some fans to believe that this track will be about the actor rather than the former One Direction member. That theory tracks too when you consider other songs on the album, like the one we’ll talk about next, “Clara Bow.” 

Who Is Clara Bow?

While Taylor Swift is no stranger to literary and Old Hollywood references, “Clara Bow” will be the first time she’s named a song after an old film star. Now, the question becomes: Why would she do that?

Well, Clara Bow was a film star in the silent era, according to EW. She’s “considered an icon of sexual freedom for women,” and the article noted that she was known for playing emancipated women. She faced lots of public scrutiny for her love life as it was clouded by rumors and gossip. According to The Guardian, Bow was “brazen,” and even when she was ruling Hollywood as a movie star, she was alone and secluded.

She eventually left acting behind, and she went to live in Nevada with Rex Bell. Reportedly, he didn’t like her “showing herself off,” EW explained. Looking back, the rumors and gossip surrounding her personal life are overwhelming, and it’s caused her career to be in the shadows. 

Now, the parallels to Taylor Swift seem obvious. From a career standpoint, both women have faced scrutiny over the rumors surrounding their personal lives, and specifically their love lives. Many Swifties have also made the connection that Bow’s legacy as a silent film star is comparable to the pop star living a very private (and silent) life while she was dating Joe Alwyn. 

In the song “Bejeweled,” Swift sings about being trapped and not being able to shine, that could have a myriad of meanings, but it’s been theorized that her private relationship could have something to do with it. So, could that also be what “Clara Bow” is related to? We’ll find out in April. And while we wait for that, I’ll be looking at Swift’s Grammys outfit and her jewelry, and thinking about how it looks a whole lot like Bow’s sparkly look shown above. 

How Are The Olsen Twins Involved In The Tortured Poets Department? 

There’s no denying that the album cover for The Tortured Poets Department is unlike anything we’ve seen from Swift before. It’s sexy and sultry and shows her lying on a white bed in black lingerie. This is where Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen come in. 

If you look at the briefs Swift is wearing in the image (which you can see below), according to her stylist (via People) and @taylorswiftstyled on Instagram, they’re made by The Row, which is Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen’s fashion brand. 

Per @taylorswiftstyled, the shorts are called the “Ausra Brief” and they retail for $790. So, while there are famous folks who supposedly inspire Swift’s music, and there are A-list singers and performers she collaborates with, when it comes to The Olsen twins, they’re involved with the pop star indirectly through fashion.

Why Are Swifites Talking About A Group Chat Joe Alwyn Had With Paul Mescal?  

The alleged answer to this one is pretty simple. In an episode of Variety’s Actors on Actors in 2022, Paul Mescal and Joe Alwyn revealed the group chat they have with Andrew Scott called “Tortured Man Club.” Here’s how the conversation went down:

Paul Mescal: What’s the name of the What’s App group that we’re in? Tortured…

Joe Alwyn: It’s either the Tortured or the Lonley, Tortured Man Club, I think. You, me and Andrew [Scott]. It hasn’t had much use recently.

Paul Mescal: No, I feel like we’re less tortured now.

Both men starred in Sally Rooney adaptations — Alwyn in Conversations With Friends and Mescal in Normal People  (which can be viewed with a Hulu subscription) — and played sad boys. Both series are very emotional and melodramatic, and the actors both have a tendency to pick sad projects. While they didn’t confirm that that’s what inspired the name, they did immediately chat about their shows right after opening up about the group chat. 

So, immediately after Swift announced The Tortured Poets Society this connection was made. Now, Swifties can’t stop thinking about how her eleventh album’s title is coincidentally similar to her ex’s group chat. 

Obviously, the pop star has not confirmed if the group chat inspired her album’s title. However, there’s no denying that it’s at the very least a wild coincidence. 

What Does “loml” Mean?

Overall, it feels like The Tortured Poets Department is a breakup album. However, “loml,” which typically means “love of my life,” is a happy thing. Therefore, I have many questions about this.

Swift said she’s been working on this project for two years. That means it could track the process of her breakup. Will it be a song using hindsight looking back on the good days of a relationship? Will it be a deceiving title for an incredibly sad song? Will it be something totally different, and will this album address her relationship with Travis Kelce? The questions surrounding “loml” are endless. However, we are almost certain that it stands for “love of my life.” 

According to Travis Kelce, The Tortured Poets Society is “unbelievable,” and with all these questions floating around about the meanings buried in the songs and the branding, I totally believe him. It feels like we’re really in for a wild ride with this project that appears to be all about a breakup. And while we wait for TTPS’s release on April 19, I’ll be pondering all these questions and how they’ll eventually be answered. 

Less pricey than those expensive cryotherapy treatments but more convenient than polar plunging oneself into a freezing ocean, ice baths have become a popular wellness go-to for the Hollywood A-list, from noted almond mom, vaginal-health guru and Goop founder Gwyneth Paltrow to professional athletes like LeBron James, Cristian Ronaldo and Naomi Osaka.

Ice baths are pretty self-explanatory: they're a form of cold therapy where a person submerges themself in a bath or vessel filled with ice or ice water for a limited duration of time. Though ice baths have risen in popularity among the rich and famous only recently, they've been utilized for centuries—in Scandanavian countries, for example, it's customary to follow up a hot sauna session with a plunge into a freezing cold pool— and the purported therapeutic benefits are numerous, from reducing muscle soreness to aiding in pain management to reducing inflammation. 

Though far brisker and (likely less) relaxing than those scenic outdoor baths and cushy indoor jacuzzi favored by other celebrities (that bath looks mighty balmy, JLo), it's clear that the demand for ice baths is heating up among showbiz's most notable names. Here are some famous folks who count themselves as fans, plus the health and fitness benefits they proclaim to gain from the cold-water immersion trend. 

Which Celebrities Are Big Proponents Of Ice Baths?

Lebron James

Ice baths seems to be gaining popularity across many disciplines in the entertainment industry, but cold-water immersion is probably best-known as a method of speeding up muscle recovery and reducing swelling and tissue breakdown for professional athletes. 

One of the true NBA GOATs, Los Angeles Lakers power forward LeBron James, has a long history with using cold temps for post-game recovery, from whole-body cryotherapy to waist-deep ice baths. Though he jokingly called the latter "borderline torture," per Business Insider, the basketball icon has regularly publicized his use of those glacial soaks after a grueling game on his Instagram. 

The Kardashian And Jenner Clan

It's not only pro athletes who seek out the bod-boosting benefits of cold plunges. Members of the Kardashian clan have famously adopted the ice-bath trend as a method of self-care, with sisters Kendall Jenner, Kourtney Kardashian and Kim Kardashian all seeking out the chilly services of Remedy Place, a "social wellness club" with locations in West Hollywood and NYC's Flatiron neighborhoods. 

The wellness center reportedly does house calls, which Jenner took advantage of with a portable Remedy Place ice bath at her own home in California. 

Big sis Kourtney apparently liked the at-home treatment so much she installed her own private ice bath at her Calabasas abode with husband Travis Barker, to the tune of $7,500, reports The Sun. She even hosted an entire ice-bath activation at her brand's Poolside with Poosh event, where the reality star and her famous siblings and friends were challenged to take a dip in a barrel bath filled with icy water.

Per The Daily Mail, Kim Kardashian initially didn't enjoy the frosty sensation, jumping out of the ice bath and jokingly dubbing herself "the weakest link" of the group. However, an Instagram video proves that the SKIMs mogul would later learn to love the benefits of ice bath, as she stopped into a Remedy Place location for an icy, full six-minute dip.

Madonna

Many popular musicians, whose bodies have to withstand exhausting touring schedules and high-energy, multi-hour live performances, have also adopted the practice as a conditioning tool. 

Her "Madgesty" herself, Madonna, has been one of pop music's most enduring and dynamic entertainers for decades, and the key to that longevity might just be in the singer's dedication to her physical fitness. Post-show ice baths are one element the 65-year-old performer famously includes in her wellness regimen to help soothe any aches and pains she might have from all of those hours of intense dance choreography. 

Lady Gaga

Lady Gaga has long admitted to following in Madge's footsteps, and it looks like her self-care routine is no exception. Mother Monster maintains her own performance levels with a nightly post-show routine centered around a cold plunge. 

The singer broke down the post-show wellness routine she implemented during her Las Vegas concert residency, which includes what's called a "contrast bath," an icy bath alternated with a hot bath. Gaga wrote on Instagram:

The "Born This Way" singer has been candid about her struggles with fibromyalgia, a chronic condition that can cause widespread pain and tenderness throughout the body. In her 2017 Netflix documentary Gaga: Five Foot Two, the Oscar winner described the illness as a "cyclone of anxiety, depression, PTSD, trauma, and panic disorder," so she could very well be utilizing the baths as much for their mental health properties as their physical benefits. 

Harry Styles

Harry Styles is also a big fan of a cold-water plunge, both out in nature and in the comfort of a private ice bath. The former boy bander has been regularly spotted by eagle-eyed fans taking frigid outdoor swims, such as at Vico Baths in South Dublin. He also has been known to employ an indoor cold plunge after getting offstage from his high-octane live performances, including his world-spanning Love on Tour gigs. He showed off his ice-bath set-up following a Cologne concert on his Instagram in June 2022. 

Lizzo

Styles' famous buddy Lizzo has also jumped on the ice-bath bandwagon, displaying her own outdoor cold plunge over on her TikTok: 

And, seeing as how she's explored nearly every wellness trend from dry brushing to oil pulling, it's not a surprise that wellness queen Gwyneth Paltrow also has a custom cold-plunge pool in her elaborate home spa in Montecito, California. 

Yet it is a surprise that, though Gwyn once sought out the "Iceman" expertise of Wim Hof to teach Goop staffers the benefits of cold therapy in her Netflix docuseries The Goop Lab with Gwyneth Paltrow, it's actually Paltrow's husband, Hollywood producer Brad Falchuk, who is the "obsessive cold plunger" in the family. 

What Do Kim K And Other Celebs Say About Ice Baths?

It's one thing to jump on a Hollywood trend, but it's another if that Hollywood trend actually works. And according to cold-plunging celebrities, they're really feeling the body benefits of ice baths. The Good Place star Kristen Bell has said that she seeks out ice baths for its help with "mental acuity and alertness throughout the day," with cold plunging shown to "increase dopamine concentrations by 250 percent." 

In the aforementioned TikTok, Lizzo hypes up the anti-inflammation benefits of ice baths, captioning the clip: 

Styles publicly touted the virtues of a cold-water dip in a 2022 interview with Better Homes & Garden: 

Tennis great Naomi Osaka has also exalted the restorative properties of ice baths, but like Gaga, she combines the practice with a warm bath following those intense matches. As she told Vogue, it "flushes the lactic acid" out of her system:

Though Kim K was initially scared of the frigid temps, she later said in that Instagram video that the cold isn't that bad "once you get past it":

As with any wellness trend, you're going to want to do your research before taking the plunge—literally, in this case. But if it's good enough for the world's best athletes and most popular entertainers, we're thinking there might actually be something to this ice-bath phenomenon. Grab the ice tray, we're ready for a dip!

Spoilers ahead for the new Mean Girls.

2004's Mean Girls is widely considered one of the best teen movies of all time, and has remained part of pop culture in the decades since its release. After going to Broadway with a stage musical, that show was adapted for the new Mean Girls movie, which performed well at the box office after being released. Directors Arturo Perez Jr. and Samantha Jayne revealed to CinemaBlend that Harry Styles was considered for a role. But if you're thinking he was going to be Aaron Samuels, none for you!

The cast of Mean Girls is pretty stacked, especially with that top-secret Lindsay Lohan cameo. But it turns out the filmmakers considered having none other than pop star/actor Harry Styles join in on the fun. I had the chance to speak with the directors before the movie's release, where Jayne explained why they wanted Styles to pop in for a role as everyone's favorite candy cane gram recipient Glen Coco. When speaking about her favorite Mean Girls quotes, she told me:

Fair point. The new Mean Girls included plenty of surprises for the fans, even those who can quote the 2004 movie from start to finish. So when Glen Coco got his shout out in the song "Revenge Party" the directors wanted to make that moment special. And for a while that included the concept of Harry Styles possibly having a role. 

It's unclear if Styles' reps were ever actually contacted about this cameo, but it's definitely a fun idea. Despite the character itself being basically an extra in the original, "You go, Glen Coco" is a line that's been adopted by the public in the years since its release. And the way the musical put a spin on that is jut one reason why my Mean Girls review was so positive. 

Later in our same conversation, co-director Arturo Perez Jr. explained how the concept of Harry Styles having a cameo eventually led to the way this moment was addressed in their new movie. As previously mentioned, the new movie got a big cameo in the form of original Cady actress Lindsay Lohan. She had a small but memorable role as the judge of the Mathletes competition, with plenty of moviegoers cheering when she suddenly appeared. Perhaps that surprise would have been less efficient if the audience had already screamed about Harry Styles. Food for thought.

Taylor Swift and Harry Styles engaged in a brief but intense relationship back in 2012, and while I don’t think either of them has been hurting in the dating department over the past decade-plus, some Swifties think the One Direction singer just took drastic action in response to one of the Eras Tour artist’s newly released songs. Styles recently was seen sporting a fresh hairstyle, or rather a shaved head that drew comparisons to Eleven from Stranger Things. Is it possible that his new look was prompted by a vault release off of 1989 (Taylor’s Version)? Let’s dig into the theory.

Swifties have long theorized that some of the songs off of Taylor Swift’s fifth studio album 1989 were about Harry Styles, including “Style” and “Out of the Woods.” So when the artist released 1989 (Taylor’s Version) in October with five previously unreleased songs, fans likely already had the boy-bander in mind when dissecting the lyrics. Is it just a coincidence that Styles debuted his new ‘do just weeks after Swift sang in “Now That We Don’t Talk” about a mystery subject’s long hair? This Swiftie doesn’t think so: 

The verse in question from “Now That We Don’t Talk” reads, “You grew your hair long / You got new icons / And from the outside / It looks like you're tryin' lives on / I miss the old ways / You didn't have to change / But I guess I don't have a say / Now that we don't talk." So when Harry Styles was photographed with Taylor Russell at a U2 concert in Las Vegas recently with a buzz cut, the conspiracy theories started flying. One fan wrote:  

Another adapted the lyrics of “Style” to fit the “As It Was” singer’s new look, posting a photo of him at the U2 concert with the lines: 

Is Taylor Swift’s influence really strong enough to inspire an ex-boyfriend to change his hairstyle 11 years later? I mean, never underestimate the power of the 12-time Grammy Award winner, and the timing of the shaved head is kind of suspect. Also, we have to consider that another vault track off of 1989 (Taylor’s Version) has even more obvious ties to Harry Styles.

On “Is It Over Now?” Taylor Swift sings, “When you lost control / Red blood, white snow / Blue dress on a boat,” which appears to make reference to the snowmobile accident she and Harry Styles were in (previously sung about in 1989’s “Out of the Woods”) and their breakup, in which Swift was infamously photographed in a blue dress, leaving their romantic getaway by herself on a boat. Maybe Styles didn’t want his long hair drawing any attention? That seems to be this Swiftie’s theory anyway: 

Fans seemed pretty torn up that Harry Styles got rid of his wavy locks, so it makes sense that Swifties would go searching for any reason to justify his actions. Whether or not the haircut really was in response to his ex-girlfriend’s song is likely something we’ll never know, but hopefully he’ll grow it back should he ever decide to follow in Taylor Swift’s footsteps with a concert film. 

In the meantime, Taylor Swift always has plenty going on for Swifties to look forward to, including the continuation of the Eras Tour and reading into the clues about the release of Reputation (Taylor’s Version). 

In recent years, Harry Styles has seen significant success. He had a starring role in Don't Worry Darling. He surprisingly joined the MCU. And he released his third studio album, Harry's House, which he secured the Album of the Year at the Grammys for, over Beyoncé. Styles has become a formidable presence in the entertainment world. There’s absolutely nothing like the experience of seeing your favorite artist live alongside a sea of fans who know all the lyrics just like you do. But many Taylor Swift fans just came close to that experience in their local movie theaters with The Eras Tour movie. The concert film had the highest-grossing opening weekend for a concert movie of all time and continues to dominate at the box office against movies like Killers of the Flower Moon and The Exorcist: Believer. With Beyoncé’s Renaissance movie coming next, I’ve been thinking about what other artists of their scope should get their own movies next. 

It’s such a gift for so many people to have access to what could be a $100-to-$1000 dollar experience to see a concert, and instead only pay the price of admission to a movie. They are different experiences, of course, but following The Eras Tour movie’s success, it’s an inspired idea, and I want to talk about other beloved artists right now that I think could replicate Swift and Beyoncé’s concert movie strategies. 

Harry Styles

Last summer, Harry Styles concluded his 169-show Love On Tour in support of his 2019 album Fine Line and 2022’s Harry’s House. The arena tour reportedly grossed over $600 million across its span of 22 months, becoming one of the biggest tours of all time. I didn’t get a chance to go to this one, and I solidly regret it. Even though I’m not an OG Harry Styles fan, one cannot deny how absolutely joyous and catchy Harry Styles’ recent music has been, and everyone who went to those shows looked like they were absolutely living! Love On Tour became a viral sensation on TikTok, between celebs like Olivia Wilde jamming out at shows and that time Styles got hit by a chicken nugget. 

If there was a Harry Styles concert movie, I could see the Don’t Worry Darling alum coming close or even breaking Swift’s records considering the absolute pandemonium of adoration toward the British pop star. I watched a live stream of Styles’ Coachella performance, and there’s absolutely a cinematic quality to his live shows he could bring to the big screen. 

Rihanna

Although it’s been a hot minute since Rihanna put out new music, aside from her Black Panther: Wakanda Forever songs, the singer continues to be one of the biggest names in music, especially coming off of her Super Bowl LVII halftime show performance early this year. Rihanna is absolutely at the caliber of Taylor Swift and Beyoncé following her two decades as a prominent pop artist. She could easily fill up a career-spanning live show to be captured on film, and it would drive in tons of fans to see it in theaters. 

Since Rihanna has shifted her focus to her business endeavors and growing family, she could even do a few ambitious shows, shoot them and release the film rather than doing a globe-trotting tour. Either way, considering the artist has not hit the road since her 2016 Anti World Tour, there’s certainly a hunger for Rihanna to return to her roots in music. Between her host of iconic performances over the years, I think there’s undoubtedly potential in a Rihanna concert movie. 

Lady Gaga

Another cinematic artist who would just completely dazzle with a big screen concert movie is Ms. Lady Gaga. Much like Taylor Swift and Beyoncé, Lady Gaga is another pop queen who has been around for a long time and has a huge body of work she could showcase in an event film. What’s especially exciting to me about a Lady Gaga concert movie is how she could inject her unique visions from her live shows, music videos and even work as an Oscar-nominated actress to a movie showcasing her work as a musician. 

Much like Rihanna, Gaga has been splitting her time between performing and her other pursuits, so I could see how filming a live show could fit into her strategy as an artist, along with making her artistry more accessible to a wider audience. Recently, Gaga had a Las Vegas residency following her 2022 Chromatica Ball tour, so why not take her talents to movie theaters next? 

Paramore 

Given the scale of this artist is smaller than the rest, my personal favorite band to see live has always been Paramore. The band has also made a significant mark in the emo and punk scene across two decades, and is even set to tour alongside upcoming Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour dates in Europe in 2024. While they don’t have as big of a reach as artists like Harry Styles, Rihanna or Lady Gaga, Paramore fans would absolutely come in droves for this, and I think would really surprise at the box office if a concert movie were to come out. 

I think it would also be particularly interesting if Hayley Williams and the band’s great live energy was intertwined with archival footage of them over the years to showcase the journey rock’s few female leads have gone on. Additionally, it would be interesting to see other big artists who were directly influenced by Paramore, like Olivia Rodrigo or Willow Smith, be part of this project I’m truly just dreaming up right now. 

Billie Eilish

Lastly, I think Billie Eilish could also put together a successful concert movie following her incredible early massive success as a young artist across the past five years in particular. The bad guy singer has accomplished a lot across two album cycles, including writing music for No Time to Die and Barbie. Plus, Eilish has already put out an Apple TV+ documentary and a Disney+ concert film. She has an incredible vision for visuals in her music and clearly loves the world of movies. I could see her following in Swift’s footsteps following a future tour and I hope she does. 

Now, there are truly so many possibilities when it comes to future concert films. I also thought about how big acts like Drake, Bad Bunny and SZA don’t have concert movies and could also produce movies for the big screen. There’s truly so many possibilities! Overall, I’m really excited about the doors Swift’s Eras Tour may open for more large-scale concert movies. Swift’s film is now playing in theaters, and Beyoncé’s is among 2023 new movie releases to come, with it hitting theaters on December 1.  

This month *NSYNC really got the Millennials riled up, when they not only reunited on stage at the VMAs but also dropped their first new music in two decades. As we tried to wrap our collective minds around what this could all mean, it’s impossible not to look back at how pop music has changed since the early aughts and how the members of *NSYNC compare to bands that came after them, including One Direction. Chris Kirkpatrick recently brought up an interesting point, explaining why they didn’t have one problem that plagued Harry Styles and company, and it actually makes a lot of sense.

After presenting a starstruck Taylor Swift with her Best Pop VMA and announcing their new single, “Better Place,” for Justin Timberlake’s upcoming movie Trolls Band Together, *NSYNC sat down with Hot Ones for some spicy wings and good conversation. When looking at how their band was formed in comparison to One Direction, Chris Kirkpatrick pointed out: 

It’s funny to hear him say all of the members of *NSYNC “sucked” at certain aspects of singing. On the surface it seems like having too much talent could never be a bad thing, but this actually makes a lot of sense. Justin Timberlake and JC Chasez always took the lead for *NSYNC, with Joey Fatone, Chris Kirkpatrick and Lance Bass filling in the harmonies, Meanwhile, One Direction was formed after all five members auditioned as solo artists for The X Factor (UK) in 2010. 

With Harry Styles, Zayn Malik, Niall Horan, Liam Payne and Louis Tomlinson theoretically all possessing lead-vocal potential, their roles in the songs weren’t necessarily a given. Since Malik officially left the band in 2015 and One Direction went on indefinite hiatus not long after, all five members have released solo albums — to varying degrees of success. For *NSYNC, only Justin Timberlake successfully took his singing career solo following the boy band’s release of Celebrity in 2001. 

So now that we’ve established that the boy band works well as a group, where do we stand on an *NSYNC reunion tour? Joey Fatone didn’t sound overly optimistic when asked about it, but given that the group just “fell into place” after 20 years — and with Hot Ones proving that they’re still doing appearances together — I’m not giving up hope just yet. 

In the meantime, their single “Better Place” will drop on Friday, September 29, and you can catch Justin Timberlake as Branch in Trolls Band Together, which hits theaters on Friday, November 17. 

While Simon Cowell has been killing it as a judge on America’s Got Talent and Britain's Got Talent for a while now, we can’t forget his iconic runs on singing competitions like American Idol and more specifically the UK’s X Factor. Most notably, he is the guy who took the five boys of One Direction under his wing during their time on the English series. Now, he’s throwing it back to his days working with the boy band, and it hit me right in the feels. Ah, nostalgia.

To show his love for Harry Styles, Niall Horan, Louis Tomlinson, Liam Payne and Zayn Malik, Cowell posted some unseen footage from X Factor on his Instagram. In the video, he notes that he is “quietly confident” in One Direction, saying that he “just got a feeling that we may have something special.” Well, boy did they! After their time on the show, this boy band went on to be an international sensation, so I think it’s safe to say the longtime judge had a very good gut feeling about them. After throwing it back, and making me feel all the feelings about these boys’ beginnings back in 2010, Simon Cowell drove the point home with a sweet message. He wrote:

Not only were these guys a powerhouse boyband, they also seem like genuinely good people, and it looks like that’s one of the primary reasons Simon Cowell has so much affection for them. He’s also one of their big cheerleaders, because like a lot of 1D’s fans, the former American Idol judge is all for a One Direction reunion. 

Along with being a super sweet video, it also is so nostalgic. I was in middle school when One Direction broke big. So, seeing the boys as teenagers is giving me flashbacks to singing along to “What Makes You Beautiful” and seeing my classmates hang photos of their favorite band members up in their lockers. If you really want a nostalgia trip, check out this clip of Harry Styles audition for The X Factor, because that along with Cowell’s video will really drive that point home:

These days, all the members of One Direction have great solo careers, and they have found major success. 

For example, Harry Styles just finished a massive world tour and starred in movies like My Policeman and Don’t Worry Darling. He also performs a song or two from back in the day during his concert, and he was seen rocking a 1D shirt this spring, so it’s clear he still adores the boyband. 

Along with him, Niall Horan recently released his third album, and he’s going to be returning as a coach on The Voice when it premieres on the 2023 TV schedule later this fall. The “Heaven” singer even opened up about how his own time as a contestant on X Factor impacted his experience on The Voice. 

It really seems like Simon Cowell is truly proud of the members of One Direction, and he looks back on his time working with them fondly. It’s pretty wild to think that he discovered the singers over a decade ago. However, looking at where they all are now, it’s clear that they’ve all grown so much as artists and people since their time on X Factor, and that makes me super emotional. 

A couple of years ago, one of the biggest stories in Hollywood surrounded the production of the movie Don’t Worry Darling. Reports indicated that while director Oliva Wilde and star Harry Styles found love on the set, for others, including co-star Florence Pugh, things were far less rosy. Pugh and Wilde reportedly did not get along on set, but while it appeared that all that was behind everybody involved, now the movie is back in the news.

One of the rumors that had been floating around during the movie’s apparently troubled production was that the newly together Oliva Wilde and Harry Styles would disappear from the set from time to time. It was said that during some of these periods, Florence Pugh herself actually directed scenes in the movie. Now an unnamed producer is claiming to World of Reel that Pugh didn’t really direct parts of the film. However, he is saying instead that it was the film’s Director of Photography, Matthew Libatique that took over. The source claimed…

It was in early 2021 that rumors started to fly that, while on the set of the movie that she was directing and he was appearing in, Olivia Wilde had started a relationship with Harry Styles. Following her split from Jason Sudeikis, this became its own tabloid story. Following those rumors came new ones that the relationship was allegedly a problem on the set for some of the other actors, most notably Florence Pugh. While both women would later downplay any alleged “feud” between them, the rumors persisted.

While it’s impossible to substantiate something coming from an unnamed source, and so this still has to be seen as a rumor, it’s another statement indicating that there were certainly problems on the set of Don’t Worry Darling. This would at least explain specifically why some of the cast, including Pugh, may have had an issue with the relationship, as it may have been legitimately causing problems with production.

Even if we take this rumor as truth, it’s unclear just how often this happened. The source does say it was multiple days, but it’s hard to tell if we’re talking about a couple of days or if this was a regular occurrence throughout the entire production. 

One wonders if this most recent claim will set off a new set of rumors surrounding the film. Perhaps, with Don't Worry Darling significantly in the rearview mirror, people will be more willing to talk and we'll get a clear picture of just what in the world was going on. 

Christopher Nolan's name has become cemented in film history because of his movies. From some of his earlier films to his most recent, Oppenheimer, Nolan has continued to show his prowess with storytelling, visual effects, and more. One other area that he tends to be excellent in is casting each film.

Every Nolan movie has had a fantastic cast, and Dunkirk is no exception. One of the best war movies of all time, this 2017 thriller featured cast members such as Barry Keoghan, Harry Styles, Cillian Murphy, and more. Today, we will talk about the Dunkirk cast and where they are now. 

Fionn Whitehead (Tommy)

First up on the list is Fionn Whitehead, who played Tommy in Dunkirk. The actor has appeared in a few movies since then, including the exhausting Black Mirror: Bandersnatch in the lead role, The Duke and Voyagers. He also had a central role in Great Expectations on television and a guest role on Queers. 

Right now, Whitehead doesn't have anything coming up, but judging from his experience so far, I'm sure it won't be long before you see him again. 

Tom Glynn-Carney (Peter Dawson)

Next up is Tom Glynn-Carney, who played Peter Dawson. The actor has appeared in movies such as Tolkien, The King, and Rialto. 

However, Glynn-Carney has since made his mark on television by playing Aegon Targaryen II in House of the Dragon, a role he will continue to play in Season 2. He also had a prominent role in The Last Post and appeared in Mayflies. 

Coming up, Glynn-Carney is going to appear in The Book of Clarence movie, along with Season 2 of House of the Dragon.

Jack Lowden (Collins)

Jack Lowden played Collins and has since appeared in several movies. Some of his most known films have included Mary Queen of Scots, Calibre, England is Mine, and Capone. He also had a role in Fighting with My Family alongside star Florence Pugh, and Benediction. 

On television, Lowden also had a part in Small Axe, a miniseries, and a primary role in Slow Horses, among other guest roles. He doesn't have anything coming out soon, but with his resume, I'm sure there will be plenty to look forward to. 

Harry Styles (Alex)

Dunkirk was Harry Styles' acting debut, and what a movie to start on. He is mainly known for his singing, as he was a part of the boy band One Direction and then expanded into his own solo career. But now, we've seen him more in the acting world. 

Since his part of Alex, Styles has stepped into film more, appearing in movies such as the infamous Don't Worry Darling, and My Policeman. He also had a minor cameo in Eternals, but the role is most likely going to appear more within the MCU. 

Styles has also appeared as a musical guest/hosted Saturday Night Live a few times and guest-hosted The Late Late Show with James Corden. 

While he doesn't have anything acting-wise coming up, I'm sure it won't be long before he releases a new album after the success of his two-year tour. Film has never been his go-to, but I have a feeling we'll be seeing plenty more of him in the next few years. 

Aneurin Barnard (Gibson)

Aneurin Barnard played Gibson in Dunkirk, who has appeared in plenty of films since his time in the war movie. Some are The Goldfinch, Radioactive, Bigger, and The Personal History of David Copperfield. Barnard has also been in several TV shows, including a prominent role on 1899 on Netflix, a central role on The Catch, and a guest role on Peaky Blinders, among many other appearances. 

Coming up, Barnard will appear in Series 14 of Doctor Who and will be in the TV film Men Up, as well as another movie called Timestalker. 

James D’Arcy (Colonel Winnant)

James D'Arcy played Colonel Winnant in Dunkirk, and since his role, he has appeared in various movies and TV shows. He was part of the vast Oppenheimer cast and appeared in films such as The Snowman, Six Minutes to Midnight, Life Like, and more. He also had a recurring role on Homeland and a big role on Deadline. Coming up, he will be in a new series called Constellation. 

Barry Keoghan (George Mills)

Barry Keoghan has had quite the career explosion since playing George Mills. He was nominated for an Academy Award for his role in The Banshees of Inisherin and appeared in such films as Eternals, the King Arthur adaptation The Green Knight, Calm With Horses, and more. 

Keoghan has also had experience on television, with a small recurring guest role on Chernobyl and the series Top Boy on Netflix. He will be in several new films called Saltburn, Bring Them Down, The Bird, and the upcoming Gladiator 2. He will also be in a TV series called Masters of Air. 

Kenneth Branagh (Commander Bolton)

Another famous face from Dunkirk is Kenneth Branagh, who plays Commander Bolton. Since its premiere, Branagh has appeared in several films, including Murder on the Orient Express and its sequel, Death on the Nile. He also had roles in Fireheart, Tenet, and Oppenheimer, continuing his trend of collaborating with Nolan. 

He also had a leading role on a TV series called England and had a guest role on Upstart Crow. Coming up, he will star in A Haunting in Venice, where he will again reprise his role of Hercule Poirot. 

Cillian Murphy (Shivering Soldier) 

Cillian Murphy played the Shivering Soldier in the war film. The actor has appeared in various movies since, such as Anna, The Delinquent Season, and A Quiet Place: Part II, but most are hearing about Murphy from his starring role in Oppenheimer, where he plays – you guessed it – Oppenheimer himself. 

Besides that, he wrapped up his leading part on the hit show Peaky Blinders in 2022. Soon, he'll be in a new film called Small Things Like These and appear in the horror film 28 Months Later.

Mark Rylance (Mr. Dawson)

Mark Rylance played Mr. Dawson, and has since appeared in several films. These include Waiting for Barbarians, Ready Player One, Don't Look Up, The Trial of the Chicago 7, Bones and All, and more. Regarding television, he appeared in a role on Wolf Hall and The Undeclared War. The next time you'll see him is in the movie, The Way of the Wind. 

Tom Hardy (Farrier) 

Tom Hardy is another excellent example of an actor who has continued to grow immensely in Hollywood. He played Farrier in Dunkirk and has appeared in many recent films, including the Venom movies, where he plays the main character, Eddie, and the movie Capone. 

He also had a supporting role on Peaky Blinders and was part of a nature series called Predators. Soon, he will be starring in the third Venom film and the Netflix movie, Havoc, as well as a film called The Bikeriders. 

Michael Caine (Voice) (Fortis Leader)

Last but not least, we have Michael Caine. While he was not featured physically in the movie, Caine's voice was used as a cameo when he voiced Fortis Leader. 

The actor has appeared in movies such as Dear Dictator, King of Thieves, Tenet, Best Sellers, and more, and will appear in The Great Escaper. 

With so many outstanding cast members, one can only wonder what they will do next. And now, I will see Oppenheimer again for the umpteenth time to find all the cast members from this list in there.

Some of her best Kellyoke covers have included hits from Jazmine Sullivan, Florence + the Machine and Chris Stapleton, but she may be adding a new fan favorite to that list. The singer opened her Las Vegas residency on July 28, surprising fans with a rendition of Harry Styles’ Grammy-nominated hit “As It Was,” and concertgoers stormed social media to share their thoughts on the epic musical moment.

Harry Styles recently wrapped his worldwide Love on Tour after nearly two years, giving an emotional final performance in front of a crowd of 100,000-plus in Reggio Emilia, Italy. It turns out that wasn’t music lovers’ last chance to see “As It Was” performed live, however, as Kelly Clarkson covered it on the opening night of Chemistry: An Intimate Night With Kelly Clarkson in Sin City. One fan tried to put herself in the shoes of those in attendance, wondering how she would have reacted when the well-known opening to that song started to play: 

Kelly Clarkson may not be going on tour to promote her new album Chemistry, but the 10-show residency aims to give fans an intimate experience, as she opens up her whole catalog, a la Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour. It became clear at the first show that she’ll also bring the Kellyoke vibes, and while fans were excited about the nod to the One Directioner, there was an element of Harry Styles’ performance that the “Since U Been Gone” singer couldn’t quite replicate. One fan noted: 

Fans at Harry Styles’ overseas shows were known to scream the part of the song where he sang, “Leave America,” allegedly to show their disapproval over how much time the Don’t Worry Darling actor has spent in the United States. Conversely, TikTok videos have shown American crowds going silent when he sang the line in the U.S. So the Las Vegas crowd likely wouldn’t have shouted the lyric, even if it had been Styles singing it, but after seeing so many viral videos of the phenomenon, it still struck many as strange. Another Twitter user wrote: 

Kelly Clarkson certainly put her own twist on the hit song, and one fan described it on Twitter as a life-changing experience: 

The former coach of The Voice told the crowd (via People) that “As It Was” had been planned as a Kellyoke segment for The Kelly Clarkson Show. However, when the WGA writer’s strike shut down the show’s production before the end of its season, those plans were scrapped, and the artist promised that her other shows would feature more covers. 

That’s probably great news for fans, as TikTok user guynamedwill77 weighed in on Kelly Clarkson’s vocal performance, asking, “Is there anything she can’t sing?!,” while another fan was feeling pretty uncalm with the tweet:

It’s been a huge past couple of years for Harry Styles — he starred in his first movie, Don’t Worry Darling; released his third studio album, Harry’s House; and went on to beat Beyoncé for Album of the Year at this year’s Grammys. All of these things have happened as the artist traveled the world with his Love on Tour. The two-year concert tour came to an end July 22, and with this turning into such an important era in his life, it’s easy to see why Styles became so emotional at its conclusion. Fans took to Twitter with all the feels after seeing footage of him at the end of his final show.

Harry Styles’ Love on Tour kicked off in September 2021, and nearly two years later, the former One Direction star gave the tour’s final performance Saturday in Reggio Emilia, Italy. That show was the 169th played in cities across the U.S. and around the world, and fans had visceral reactions to concertgoers’ footage of the tour’s final moments, with one tweeting:

The singer blew kisses to the crowd and waved, before apparently being overcome with the magnitude of the moment. Harry Styles covered his face with his hands and dropped to his knees. He remained like that for several seconds before blowing more kisses, then pumped his fists as he exited the stage. 

Whatever the “As It Was” singer was feeling, his fans were equally as sentimental, as they posted their gratitude for the artist on his big night:

Harry Styles’ final show took place at RCF Arena in Reggio Emilia — the largest outdoor venue in Europe, with the ability to seat 100,000. A drone video showed just how enormous the July 22 crowd was, and given this context, it’s completely understandable how the singer could get so overwhelmed:

Harry Styles’ Love on Tour was peppered with plenty of highs and lows. Modern Family actress Julie Bowen decided to shoot her shot with the pop star, explaining via sign why he shouldn’t be deterred by her age. However, other fans chose other, less appropriate, ways to make their presence at his concerts known. 

In what seems like an increasing number of celebrities getting hit with objects thrown on stage by members of the crowd, Styles took a hit to the “sweet spot” last fall, and then earlier this month he had to take a moment after being smacked in the face with an object. There are better and safer ways to express your love for an artist than that, like this fan: 

Now that Love on Tour is over, hopefully Harry Styles can take some time to rest, recover and process everything he’s been through over the past couple of years. The rest of us will be here waiting to see what he's got planned next, and when he'll pop up again in more movies or other projects in the future. 

Even though streaming music services have made it easier than ever to marathon our favorite artists’ albums and B-sides, still nothing can quite compare to watching the songs performed live. Thousands of Harry Styles fans can no doubt attest to that notion as of late, specifically those attending his European shows that are serving as the closeout dates for his COVID-delayed Love On Tour that began back in 2021. But as it’s happened at an increasing number of recent live performances for artists such as Bebe Rexha and Pink, the good times were marred by someone throwing an object onto the stage and connecting with Styles’ face.

The latest example of this ignorant and needs-to-stop-immediately trend of hurling objects at musicians happened on the night of Saturday, July 8, as Harry Styles was in the middle of performing for an audience in Vienna, Austria. (It’s not the first time the former One Direction member has been hit with stuff on stage, as discussed lower.) As he was crossing the stage and waving to screaming fans, an as-yet-unidentified object hit him directly in the face, as seen in this Instagram video.

It very clearly caused him a bit of sudden pain, as it hit him in the cheek and possibly in the eye. If it was something relatively light, like a packet of tissues, that’s one thing, but anything zinged hard enough to pop him in the face was likely a bit heavier and more potentially harmful. As seen when Bebe Rexha was hit with a cell phone during a show in June, she suffered a gnarly eye injury, and the story-changing assailant who threw the phone will go to court for harassment and assault.

While the impact was enough to stop Styles in his tracks, wincing and bending over while making sure he wasn’t more seriously injured, he was thankfully fine enough to continue the rest of the show. It’s unclear if he addressed the issue at all on- or off-stage, but he probably didn’t, because he’s that kind of a nice guy. But that doesn’t mean such generosity should be taken advantage of by using his face and body as target practice. 

Already on this tour, Harry Styles has had chicken nuggets thrown at him, which he amusingly dodged and commented on, and was also hit in the eye with Skittles, which he did address after the fact by asking fans not to throw them. While it’s true that Styles’ fans have long thrown things onto the stage during his concerts, from Pride flags to hats to feather boas, there’s a difference when things are being lobbed directly at his person. 

Beyond Styles and Bebe Rexha, other artists that have struggled with fans throwing things at them on stage include rappers Drake and Kid Cudi, and singer-songwriters Ava Max, Steve Lacy, and Kelsea Ballerini. And Pink dealt with some interesting, if less directly injurious, situations when one fan threw their mother’s cremated ashes onto the stage, while another fan handed her a big cheese wheel. (That cheese would knock somebody silly if they took that to the face.) But let’s not let a few less dangerous moments make it seem fine to continue throwing unwarranted objects at musicians, whether they’re performing on stage or not. 

All that said, how much are we thinking that Taylor Swift will find a way to set up a fake “fan throwing something on stage” incident during the ongoing Eras Tour that will actually be a huge speculation-sparking reference to something from the upcoming release of Reputation (Taylor’s Version)? 

Life is brighter when there is a little color in it, and that’s especially true when that color is pink. Considering the Barbie movie is one of the more prominent releases on the 2023 film schedule, and many other trends like Y2K fashion and neon colors have been making a splash, we’ve seen a resurgence of bright pink. Well, not only am I here for it, but these celebs, including Megan Fox, Sydney Sweeney, Zendaya and more, have shown their support for Barbiecore and pink becoming the color of 2023. 

Florence Pugh 

While bright pink has been one of the big colors of 2023, it started to gain traction in 2022. One of the most prominent examples of Barbiecore from last year came when Florence Pugh rocked a bright pink sheer Valentino gown that broke the internet. Following this viral moment, the Little Women star wore the bright color on a few other occasions, and she even went on to become the face of Valentino, where she participated in an ad campaign for a gorgeous bright pink purse.  

Sydney Sweeney 

Jumping forward to this year, Sydney Sweeney rocked a Barbiecore pink jumpsuit to promote her new rom-com Anyone But You, which is set to come out in December. The velvet baby pink jumpsuit was the perfect outfit for the occasion, and the Euphoria star looked radiant in the Barbie adjacent look. Not only was it perfect to promote her rom-com, it also fit the pink trend. 

Megan Fox

Like Pugh, one of the actors who really made a splash in Barbie pink last year was Megan Fox. Both her and Machine Gun Kelly have worn pink on many occasions (as you’ll see later), however, this look was one of my favorites. In this instance, the Jennifer’s Body star went full Barbiecore in an underboob-baring outfit that included cargo pants, pink heels and a giant pink fuzzy bucket hat. Overall, it was giving Barbie, but it was also tapping into some of the hottest trends of the last few years.

 Margot Robbie And Ryan Gosling 

When the actors behind Barbie and Ken walk a red carpet, obviously they have to show up in style. When Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling rolled up to CinemaCon they wore Barbie-tastic looks that their characters would be proud of. Between the Drive star’s fuzzy pink bomber jacket and “Directed by Greta Gerwig” shirt, and the I, Tonya actor wearing a gingham set reminiscent of her character’s dress in the Barbie trailer, these two were absolutely slaying the Barbiecore look and dressing 100% on theme for their new movie.

Hailee Steinfeld 

CinemaCon 2023 really seemed like the place to be when it came to Barbiecore outfits, as Hailee Steinfeld rocked a gorgeous strapless neon pink dress to an event for Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse. The actress, who plays Spider-Gwen among the Into the Spider-Verse sequel cast, donned a look that had the essence of her character, and contributed to the moment the color pink is having. 

Zendaya  

Queen of fashion, Zendaya has obviously played into the Barbiecore trend on multiple occasions, however, one of my favorite looks from her was when she wore a light pink Valentino gown on the carpet for the 2023 SAG Awards. She complimented the rose-covered gown with millions in bling from Bulgari, and she looked like a Barbie ready to go to a ball. 

Stephanie Hsu 

Stephanie Hsu brought Barbiecore to the Oscars as she cheered on her Everything Everywhere All at Once cast mates who won Academy Awards, and celebrated her first nomination. According to InStyle, the bright pink gown was made by Valentino, as you can see the brand also loves a Barbiecore moment, and the actress looked fabulous as she walked the white carpet in the mermaid-like, ballooning gown.

Sabrina Carpenter  

From the red carpet to street style, Barbiecore has made its mark all over the fashion industry. This has been proven by loads of A-Listers, however, one of my favorite streetwear looks came when Sabrina Carpenter rocked a pink striped tank, sheer neon pink skirt and platform baby pink heels – let’s just say she was giving Y2K Barbie. As Seventeen pointed out the singer/actress really looked like the iconic doll as she hopped between the Spotify Best New Artist event and the Stella McCartney X Adidas Party. 

Machine Gun Kelly  

Machine Gun Kelly has famously made his brand pink, I mean his Instagram handle is literally Mr. Pink, and his documentary was called Life in Pink, and those are just two examples of his love for the color. 

While MGK and Megan Fox have been in a rough patch recently, there is no doubting they are a fashion power couple, and know how to rock a pink moment. They proved this again when the rocker wore a hot pink double-breasted suit with red roses, while the actress stunned in a shiny light pink Philosophy di Lorenzo Serafini evening gown, per Harper’s Bazaar, at the Good Mourning premiere.

Lizzo

Of course, Lizzo has also slayed the Barbie pink trend! The singer showed up to the premiere of her reality competition Watch Out For The Big Grrrls last year in this fabulous bright pink Valentino mini dress, per her Instagram. Even her pose is giving Barbie energy. Overall, this wonderful singer absolutely killed the Barbiecore vibe with all this neon pink. 

Harry Styles

Harry Styles has also embraced the Barbiecore look, especially when he headlined Coachella (and specifically on the night Lizzo was his guest). The “As It Was” singer looked absolutely amazing in his big pink fury jacket and matching metallic pants and vest. As he rocked out in the desert he had the perfect look to compliment it, and he showed us all that he really knows how to kill a pink fit. 

Jessica Chastain 

Rocking a bright pink Zuhair Murad gown to the 2023 SAG Awards, Jessica Chastain took home her award in style dressed to the nines in an elegant Barbiecore look. Women’s Wear Daily noted the gorgeous off-the-shoulder gown and the Gucci jewels she complimented the dress with. Overall, it was an ensemble that tapped into the opulence of the awards, while also playing into the Barbie pink trend.

As you can see, these celebs have all had completely different takes on Barbiecore, and have rocked pink in so many fun and new ways. So, as Barbie’s release date gets closer (mark your calendars for July 21) I’m positive we’ll have even more fabulous pink looks from more celebs.  

Coachella is always known to bring some eyebrow-raising interactions between its celebrity patrons, and this year has been no different, with exes Camila Cabello and Shawn Mendes caught making out, and Leonardo Dicaprio eliciting questions about the nature of his relationship with Bradley Cooper’s ex. And you just know the Kardashians fam got wrapped up in some drama too, with Kendall Jenner’s rumored love interest Bad Bunny appearing to shade her ex Harry Styles in a tweet that appeared on screen during his headlining performance. The Puerto Rican artist has since apologized, and the company responsible for the visuals for his set explained exactly what happened. 

Bad Bunny Appeared To Diss Harry Styles’ Hit ‘As It Was’ 

Bad Bunny was in the headlines ahead of Coachella, both for his WWE appearances and his horseback riding date with Kendall Jenner. During his set on April 14, a tweet appeared on the screen behind him whose text (edited below for capitalization and punctuation) read:  

Fans saw this as shade to Kendall Jenner’s ex-boyfriend Harry Styles, who she dated off and on from 2013 and 2019 and was seen hanging with following his breakup with Olivia Wilde. Styles also beat out Bad Bunny (and Beyoncé) at this year’s Grammy Awards, taking home the trophy for Album of the Year. Presumably the tweet suggested the rapper could have done the former One Directioner’s “As It Was,” but that Styles couldn’t have recorded Bad Bunny’s hit “El Apagon.”

Following the perceived diss, Bad Bunny’s team said (per Rolling Stone) that the artist had not approved the image that was shown during his Coachella performance, and the visual content company, Sturdy.co, said in an Instagram Story (via Billboard) on April 17: 

Apparently Bad Bunny had wanted to use the photo that accompanied the tweet, not the text, during his show, and they promised the situation would be corrected for his April 21 set on the festival’s second weekend. 

Bad Bunny Apologizes To Harry Styles During His Set 

The reggaeton singer followed through on that promise, and during “El Apagón” — when the tweet in question had been shown the previous week — the same image appeared behind Bad Bunny on the screen. However, this time the text read:  

I love this public apology and show of humility. Despite whatever sour grapes Bad Bunny might have felt after the Grammy’s, it doesn’t seem like Kendall Jenner would approve of such shade being thrown at her longtime friend Harry Styles. It doesn’t appear Styles has made any public comment about Bad Bunny’s Coachella snafu, but hopefully we can consider this beef as squashed. 

Harry Styles got his start with an awkward X Factor audition, but it helped skyrocket him into superstardom with One Direction and, later, a solo career. While the singer is one of the biggest acts in the world, he is still like any other person. His mother proved this notion as she opened up about what her son is really like, and it’s pretty relatable. 

In an interview with Daily Mail, Anne Twist, Styles' mom who is affectionately known as “Mama Twist,” got candid about her son and the person he’s become while in the limelight. She noted that even though he’s a big singer and actor now, not much has changed. In fact, Harry Styles is still one to raid to the fridge when he comes home, whit his mom saying he will "open the fridge" immediately when he gets home out of habit. She went on explain how proud she is of her son and daughter:

It’s sweet to know that Anne Twist is just as proud of both her kids as any parent would be, and of course, doesn’t have a favorite. Even though Harry Styles’ is big in both the music and acting worlds, it’s clear that his personality hasn’t changed much. He seems like kid at heart, especially during his concerts, making fans feel safe to be who they want to be and busing some sick dance moves on stage.

One thing that also seems to have not changed about Harry Styles is going straight for the fridge when he gets to his mom's place, and I can’t say I blame him. It’s basically human instinct. It wouldn’t be surprising if, after every concert he has, he does exactly that when he gets back to his tour bus or hotel.

While Styles is still the same boy to his mom, over the last year he has really risen to a new level of fame. Not only did he release his album Harry's House, he also starred in Olivia Wilde's movie Don't Worry Darling as well as Amazon Prime's My Policeman, which are available with and HBO Max subscription and Amazon Prime subscription, respectively. Even though the success is nice, the singer has also gotten stuck in some drama because of it. 

He was talked about a lot over the last few months because of the alleged drama surrounding Don't Worry Darling, his breakup with Olivia Wilde and there was quite a bit of debate surrounding him winning Album of the Year at the Grammys over Beyoncé. However, his album continues to be a great success, and his fans absolutely adore him and jamming out with him during Love on Tour.

Harry Styles has been through quite a lot in the last several years, and it’s nice to know that he is still a pretty down to Earth kid with a good head on his shoulders. The "As It Was" singer seems to be fun, loving, and respectful, and he's become a beloved pop star and actor. It would be surprising if he ever changed, but I can’t see that ever happening, especially given how humble he truly is. Plus, if he’s still immediately opening a fridge when he gets home, I think he’ll do just fine, especially with a mom like Anne Twist.

Most recently there’s been rumors about him dating model and actress Emily Ratajkowski, with the two even being photographed kissing. And surprise, the two have actually been dating for months. Sorry Harry fans out there, aka Harries.

Harry Styles’ dating life has been a hot button conversation piece since back in his One Direction days. But as he’s gone on to be a wildly successful solo artist, even celebs like Elizabeth Banks have publicly thirsted after the My Policeman actor. There have been rumors about him and Emily Ratajkowski dating, and she’s seemingly confirmed recently on a podcast. While appearing on Going Mental with Eileen Kelly, she spoke about her relationship status. While not naming Styles, she shared:

There you have it. While Ratajkowski didn’t actually speak about Harry Styles explicitly, the public put two and two together. And it turns out that their rumored relationship has been going on for over a month. We’ll just have to wait and see if the publicity team from either celeb makes a more concrete statement, and if the pair are photographed together again.

Despite guarding her words, this comment from the Gone Girl actress is sure to turn a few heads, as it basically confirms that she and Harry Styles have been dating for a while. His countless fans remain super invested in his personal life, and it should be fascinating to see if she’s treated any differently from Olivia Wilde while they were seeing each other. Later in that same podcast appearance, Ratajkowski spoke about some major turns off when it comes to dating, saying:

From using context clues, it sounds like the Eternals actor doesn’t have that sense of entitlement that  Emily Ratajkowski previously took umbrage with. Considering just how famous he is, this is saying something about his character. And presumably it means he’s kind to wait staff, which is a mark of character that even us non-celebs use.

With Styles and Ratajkowski’s rumored relationship seemingly confirmed, it should be interesting to see if the two appear in public together more often. He and Olivia Wilde certainly weren’t hiding their connection while dating, with the director/actress seeing him a number of times in concert during that time. But there were also plenty of rumors about them splitting up, even months before they actually did. Fame can really be a double edged sword.

It would appear that Emily Ratajkowski has moved on to yet another potential “situationship,” as the model and actress was photographed locking lips with Harry Styles. Neither has formally confirmed that they’re romantically involved, but the Internet has already been chit-chatting away about them. Among fans’ apparent assumptions is that Styles is a bad kisser. These kinds of rumors aren’t anything new for Ratajkowski, whose relationships receive a significant amount of attention. And following her latest viral moment, she got candid about how “frustrating” the public’s responses to her dating habits can be.

Massive amounts of buzz come with the territory when you’re a celebrity, though one could argue that certain individuals draw a particularly high amount of interest. Emily Ratajkowski – who rose to prominence as a model and child actress - would arguably fit that bill. On the Olivia Ponton [episode], I made a joke about how I attract the worst men. And immediately it’s put into the context of somebody I dated very briefly… It’s so frustrating because everything’s taken completely out of context. That episode was recorded months ago.

Those sentiments received plenty of buzz arguably because the interview dropped shortly after Emily Ratajkowski’s two-month fling with Pete Davidson. But as revealed now, the conversation itself was recorded ahead of the breakup. While we’re on the topic, that relationship itself was widely covered, as many arguably found the pairing of Ratajkowski and Davidson to be somewhat surprising. Yet the romance she was briefly engaged in afterwards garnered even more hype. 

The star later linked up with an even wilder comedian, Eric André, with the two first spotted enjoying a meal in New York in January. They’d break the Internet in February after sharing a cheeky Valentine’s Day post, which involved nude day-drinking. And by the end of the month, they officially split. 

With those trysts now over though, it sounds like Emily Ratajkowski is ready to move on. The public certainly isn’t going to stop paying attention to her love life, though this “giving-no-fucks” mindset could help to make things a bit easier for her. And of course, we’ll just have to wait and see if Harry Styles ends up factoring into this new era even further.

Ever since Harry Styles first auditioned for The X Factor and joined the mega-popular boy band One Direction back in 2010, millions of young fans most likely fantasized about locking lips with the multihyphenate. He and his Don’t Worry Darling director Olivia Wilde may have split after two years, but it doesn’t mean Styles is necessarily off the market. This pop star/actor was spotted making out with model Emily Ratajkowski. But fans didn’t exactly get a “watermelon sugar high” at the sight of this make-out sesh, resulting in newfound theories that he’s a bad kisser.

Fans didn’t seem to have a problem watching Harry Styles making out with his co-star Florence Pugh in the first footage of their movie Don’t Worry Darling. But you don’t exactly receive supervision from a director when you’re kissing in real life. After the Dunkirk actor was seen in a DailyMail video kissing model Emily Ratajkowski outside a vehicle on the streets of Tokyo, folks on the internet noticed a startling discovery- that Styles appears in their eyes to look like a bad kisser. One Twitter user would prefer to live in a world of denial that the British heartthrob’s kissing is subpar.

Guess a lot of teenage fantasies are going out the window after witnessing this make-out sesh. Another tweet basically declared the evidence in the video of Styles moving those lips of his against Ratajkowski in a seemingly awkward fashion speaks for itself.

It makes sense why fans are in shock at this display of affection that Styles is presenting. Other than the PDA he was packing on Olivia Wilde in the two years they were together, he’s been with television presenter Caroline Flack from 2011 to 2012, singer Taylor Swift with their relationship finished back in 2012, and French-American model Camille Rowe from 2017 to 2018. So he’s clearly had plenty of lip-on-lip action experience. This Twitter post sees a bright side to the recent revelation of the Grammy winner’s kissing.

Some fans have been pondering if maybe the "As It Was" singer just isn’t giving it his all with Ratajkowski. This tweeter figures maybe Styles wasn’t really into the kiss.

Before people judge the kiss, I think it’s important to truly look at the video once again. According to Ratajkowski’s movements in the video, she’s holding Styles’ hand while kissing him. Her other hand is also caressing Styles’ face as she continues showing him affection. So she’s presumably not suffering here. And you’d have to be the one kissing the Brit Award winner to know how he factors on the “good kisser” scale than this video.

It looks like we can stop all guesswork, because these two eligible singles were caught this weekend, making out with each other.

Grammy Album of the Year winner Harry Styles and EmRata were caught on video (obtained by the Daily Mail) dancing, kissing in the rain and getting a little handsy outside of a nightclub in Tokyo, where Styles was in town performing his Love on Tour concert.

The two were seen standing outside of a vehicle on the streets of Japan, and they didn’t appear to be concerned with onlookers, as the video showed them kissing passionately and appearing to have a good time, with Emily Ratajkowski breaking into a dance and Harry Styles moving along with her.

There’s no word on how serious the situation is between the celebs, but a source told the Mirror in February that there was a new woman in Harry Styles’ life, alleging: 

If those comments were in reference to Emily Ratajkowski, maybe things have progressed with the perceived couple, because there seemed to be no effort to hide either of their identities outside of that nightclub! Either way, the makeout sesh does seem to signal that both have moved on from their previous high-profile relationships. 

Harry Styles and Olivia Wilde dated for nearly two years after meeting on the set of Don’t Worry Darling, whose production was rife with behind-the-scenes drama that included an alleged feud between Wilde and Florence Pugh, and, of course, the “spitgate” situation between Styles and Chris Pine. Though Styles and Wilde broke up in November, there is reportedly no animosity between the two, and sources say they remain good friends.

EmRata, who was stunning in a see-through dress at Vanity Fair’s Oscars party, has spoken openly about dating post-divorce and how she thinks she attracts the “worst men.” Despite joining the dating apps, Ratajkowski hasn’t seemed to have too many problems finding people to spend time with. The model was spotted with Pete Davidson in the months following the end of his relationship with Kim Kardashian, and before that she was rumored to be dating Brad Pitt. More recently she was connected to comedian Eric André, but their “situationship” was short-lived, despite what looked like a fun Valentine’s Day of naked day-drinking.

Are Hollywood’s hottest singles now Hollywood’s hottest couple? Hopefully we’ll get some more clarity on Harry Styles and Emily Ratajkowski’s relationship status soon, but in the meantime, fans of the former boybander can see him in Don’t Worry Darling, which is available for streaming with an HBO Max subscription. 

While all the guys from One Direction have thriving careers these days, Harry Styles has been the center of attention for quite some time for a plethora of reasons. Although, the most recent reason this pop star is making headlines is directly related to his boyband, and fans are losing their minds. This 1D throwback happened when the “As It Was” singer accidentally posted a gym selfie of himself in a One Direction T-shirt. He quickly realized he didn’t want that to be a photo the entire world saw, and deleted it. However, never doubt the power of a Harry Styles fan, because those girlies quickly screenshotted the image, and now this gym selfie will live on forever. 

The image in question is a very simple, standard gym selfie. Styles snapped it, and posted it to his Instagram stories, however, I think it was intended for his close friends' story, not his public one. Fans of the musician quickly screenshotted the moment, even though it was only up for seconds, and it flew around the internet at a rapid pace. Considering the singer has a carefully curated Instagram account that’s mostly just concert photos, seeing this selfie was a shock to the system. Not only was it not on-brand for the singer, but fans are also dying for a One Direction reunion, and seeing Styles rock a T-shirt from the good ol’ days will no doubt spark even stronger rumors that they could get back together. 

With Harry Styles on a world tour, and his old bandmate Niall Horan not only getting ready to release new music but showing up on the 2023 TV schedule as one of the new coaches on The Voice, there has been a lot of opportunity to ask the boys about the future of One Direction. However, while the crew always speak highly of each other when asked, they are very tight-lipped when it comes to a reunion. This decision to not talk about the future of 1D is likely a major reason Styles decided to delete the photo so quickly as well.

Luckily, Styles has a great sense of humor, and while the post was seemingly a massive mistake, he did humorously address it at one of his concerts while interacting with a fan. Jess Pinney posted a video of the interaction on TikTok, where the singer said: 

This situation has the same vibe as the alleged spitgate from the Venice Film Festival. Amid all the Don’t Worry Darling drama one of the sillier rumors was that Harry Styles spit on Chris Pine. Both parties cleared the air quickly, making sure everyone knew this did not happen. The way the former One Direction member decided to address it though was by joking about it at one of his concerts, much like he did with this T-shirt snafu.

While Styles has been caught up in some serious internet drama, like his breakup with Olivia Wilde, moments like spitgate or the accidental T-shirt selfie become quite funny once the air is cleared, and everyone addresses the situation. 

Even though Styles deleted the photo swiftly, the internet did its thing, and now this gym selfie will live on forever as we 1D fans hope and pray for the boyband gets back together someday.
