Parks and Recreation may be a show that’s officially been off the air for over a decade, but that hasn’t stopped the cast from reuniting over the years and referencing their time on the show. When Aubrey Plaza did her first talk show since the public learned she’s pregnant, she ended up referencing a great scene from the beloved comedy, and I'm geeking out about it.

We learned that Aubrey Plaza is pregnant with her first child with boyfriend Christopher Abbott earlier this month. This week, the actress turned up on Late Night With Seth Meyers, where the host mentioned the pregnancy, and she responded to his comment in her classic deadpan delivery:

Oh yeah, that episode! In the finale of Parks and Recreation, April and Andy have a baby on Halloween, and Henry Winkler’s Dr. Lu Saperstein delivers it. You can check out the scene here:

You have to love how Aubrey Plaza just casually talked about Parks and Recreation unprompted. It is pretty funny that her most famous character has had a baby, and now she joked that she wants the guest star or Seth Meyers to assist her in the birth.

In the finale, April hilariously decides that she wants to wear Halloween makeup while giving birth – prompting Andy to say she looks “more beautiful” than he’s ever seen her. The whole exchange is classic Aubrey Plaza, and it’s moments like these that make me want to go to Pawnee and rewatch the whole show all over again.

Plaza was on Seth Meyers to promote a new show of hers that just dropped on the 2026 TV schedule. She co-created an adult animation TV show with her ex Joe Wengert about their cat, and it’s called Kevin. The show has a wild cast list, including Whoopi Goldberg and John Waters, and the first season is now streaming completely for those with an Amazon Prime subscription.

Being a mother-to-be reportedly came as a “beautiful surprise” to Aubrey Plaza and her partner, Christopher Abbott, per People. The actress has been dealing with the loss of her husband Jeff Baena, who died in January 2025, a few months after the couple had separated after being a couple since 2011. Along with getting ready to welcome her first child, Plaza has two animated movies on the way, The Ark and The Aardvark and Animal Friends.

Until then, I have to wonder what April and Andy’s baby is like...

There are a lot of movies on the 2026 movie schedule that I know I'm going to go out of my way to see, and then there are the movies that will grab my attention with a trailer or a TV spot, and I'll decide to see it on the fly. That's what happened this week with Normal. Ben Wheatley's new action movie, which is also a bit of a crime thriller, wasn't on my radar until recently, but one trailer plus a glimpse of its cast was enough to get me to show up at the theater this week to check it out. I'm glad I did, because Normal was a ton of fun -- pretty much everything it was advertised to be. Beyond that, I had one clear thought about why I liked the movie so much, and it really comes down to Bob Odenkirk.

No major Normal spoilers ahead.

Bob Odenkirk Deserves A Lot Of Credit

I'm not here to give Odenkirk all of the credit for why I enjoyed the film, though he does deserve a lot of it, as he's not only the star but also one of the writers and a producer. What I've been thinking about is more than just seeing another great performance by the Better Call Saul and Breaking Bad star. Those of us who are familiar with Odenkirk's work on screen know what to expect from him. It's the movie itself that's elevated by Odenkirk and the rest of the cast's performances. This movie is a perfect example of why casting is so important, and why films that might be categorized as fun crime action thrillers can be really good movies with the right people involved.

What Normal Is About

Odenkirk plays Ulysses, an interim sheriff who's getting the lay of the land in small-town Normal, Minnesota. From the start, we're more or less in Ulysses' point of view as he meets with the locals and scopes out what seems like a dated but charming wintery town. It's clear from the start that something is off, but for the most part, Ulysses just asks questions and silently recognizes the cagey remarks he receives from just about everyone. And then the stuff hits the proverbial fan when two bank robbers show up and unknowingly tear the mask off this seemingly ordinary town.

Things escalate from there, with lots of action and violence throughout. All the while, we're still getting to know Ulysses, who's bearing the weight of his past as a lawman, and a handful of supporting characters who fall on either side of this rapidly and violently developing situation.

I Realized Partway Through That I Was Genuinely Invested In The Story

Here's the thing -- there are plenty of movies like Normal out there, and I won't pretend most of them are high-quality cinema. We enjoy them because they're fun, and because we want to see the good guys win and the bad guys get what's coming to them. In that respect, without going into specifics on who lives and who dies, Normal delivers, while also throwing in some twists and turns along the way.

Most importantly, Odenkirk made me care about his character from the start. Ulysses is a lot of things, including tired, frustrated, occasionally funny, remorseful, and a bit sad. He's also sharp and unrelenting when push comes to shove, which it does. Odenkirk brought so much to his character that I felt completely invested by the time the third act hit. Ulysses' backstory could have easily felt like filler with a lesser actor, but because Odenkirk brings all of his character's layers to the surface at the right times throughout the film, it makes Normal a truly satisfying story, in addition to being a fun bit of snow-covered action.

I also need to shout out the supporting cast. Henry Winkler plays the mayor in this film, and not a moment of his talent is wasted. Lena Headey delivers a subtle performance as Moira, another local, who connects with Ulysses early on. Reena Jolly and Brendan Fletcher play the bank robber catalysts of this whole situation, Lori and Keith, respectively. And then there's Jess McLeod's character Alex, a young adult who gets involved in the story partway through. I don't want to get into too many specifics about how they factor in, but I adored Alex from the start and was as invested in their story as I was Ulysses'.

It's Easy To Picture A Version Of This Movie I Watched Then Forgot All About

I can see a movie like Normal getting made with a cast that's fine enough, but as I picture it in my mind, that version of the film relies a lot on bullets flying, stunt sequences and one-liners. Don't get me wrong, those are some great staples of action films and thrillers. Those movies are fun while we're watching them, but don't leave much (if any) lasting impression. That's all fine and good, but Normal reminded me of how much better a movie like this can be with the right cast.

The version we got -- the one with Odenkirk as the star, and the great supporting cast -- is why I'll remember this movie beyond the next few days. It's also why I'll surely watch it again when it comes to streaming. And perhaps most importantly, it's why I hope we continue to see more fun movies like this that bring in great acting talent.

Normal is now playing in theaters. While I think it'd be a fun movie to watch whenever it's released on streaming, especially if you love a good action movie and crime thriller, I also think it's the perfect movie to watch on the big screen when you just feel like going to the movies. If this kind of movie is your thing, Normal checks all the boxes and more, plus the critics seem to like it overall.

Bob Odenkirk’s well-established career as a comic actor has seen quite the pivot over the past five years or so, since he starred as former assassin Hutch Mansell in the action flicks Nobody and Nobody 2. For his next movie, Normal, Odenkirk is continuing with the genre, playing the interim sheriff of the titular small town in Minnesota, who stumbles on a larger conspiracy while responding to a bank robbery. Normal reviews are here ahead of its April 17 release on the 2026 movie calendar, so what are critics saying?

Henry Winkler stars alongside Bob Odenkirk as the mayor, with Lena Headey, Jess McLeod, Brendan Fletcher and others co-starring. Siddhant Adlakha of IGN says Normal doesn’t quite stick the landing, but Odenkirk’s Ulysses is an interesting enough character with his murky past and attempts at uncomplicated heroism, which makes this flick a “worthwhile romp.” Adlakha gives it a “Good” 7 out of 10, writing:

Travis Hopson of Punch Drunk Critics rates it 3.5 out of 5 stars, saying the movie isn’t as slick as John Wick and it a lot sillier, “bristling with a Hot Fuzz-esque” energy that perfectly suits Bob Odenkirk. Hopson says in his Normal review that the Better Call Saul actor has completely won him over as an action star. The critic continues:

Kristy Puchko of Mashable appreciates how Normal includes real-world issues like gun violence, the ostracization of trans people and economic devastation, not to get preachy but to ground a movie that’s otherwise full of bonkers moments. Bob Odenkirk is perfect for the role, as the critic writes:

Fred Topel of UPI says Normal may not hold up to scrutiny, but watching Bob Odenkirk take on an entire town makes for an enjoyable 90 minutes as we wait for bigger upcoming action movies to come this year. Topel says:

Katie Rife of IndieWire gives it a B-, writing that it’s unclear if Normal is intentionally parodying action-hero clichés with its earnest dialogue. The movie is a mixed bag in that way, especially as the novelty of seeing Bob Odenkirk do action has worn off. What’s more, the title Normal is way too similar to Nobody and evokes the same sense of averageness. Still, the action is “consistently pummeling,” Rife says, writing:

It sounds like there’s a lot of comedy and action to be found in Bob Odenkirk’s latest foray into the genre. Critics have given it mostly positive reviews, leading to a 77% Rotten Tomatoes score, so if you want to see his followup to the Nobody films (some of Odenkirk’s best work), you can check out Normal in theaters starting Friday, April 17.

Before Robin Williams really hit it big in his film career, the late actor had some memorable TV roles and appearances, including his run as one of the titular characters in the ABC sitcom Mork & Mindy. The series ran for four seasons from 1978 to 1982, and centered on an extraterrestrial, played by Williams, who comes to Earth and befriends a human who becomes his roommate and eventual love interest, played by Pam Dawber. Henry Winkler opened up about how Williams crushed his audition for what would be one of the best sitcoms of all time.

Mork & Mindy started out as a single episode for Happy Days, in which Williams’ Mork comes down from the planet Ork and is introduced to Fonzie, Ralph, Potsie, Chachi, and Richie, who initially saw the flying saucer. It was Williams’ performance in the episode “My Favorite Orkan” that convinced producers to make a spin-off surrounding Mork. Winkler told Scrubs alums Zach Braff and Donald Faison on their podcast Fake Doctors, Real Friends that no one wanted to play Mork, and they were on quite the time crunch:

At the time of his audition, Williams was still gradually breaking out in the industry, with a few small roles in film and television. He was a regular performer on the sketch comedy program Rowan & Martin’s Laugh-In in 1977 but still was not too known. That is, until his audition for Happy Days. While he started out shy, Winkler recalls what happened in that audition room and how the mood changed:

Anyone aware of Robin Williams knows how unsurprising that is, but considering he was able to flip a switch and go from a shy human to someone completely different, it’s a testament to how talented he was. Whether or not a Mork spinoff would have happened if anyone else had landed the role is unknown, but since Williams blew everyone away, they knew they had a hit on their hands and weren’t willing to let it slide, and that turned into the '70s and '80s sci-fi show.

Mork & Mindy is one of the many famous sitcoms that never made it to 100 episodes, as it capped out at 91 episodes during its original run, with an additional four during syndication. To this day, though, it remains a favorite among fans and is one of the funniest sci-fi TV shows of all time even despite the spinoff not being like the original series or fellow spinoff Laverne & Shirley, and Williams certainly had a lot to do with it.

The idea of having roommates has never been more fun thanks to FOX’s comedy series, New Girl. Even though it’s been over and done with for years, it remains one of the most rewatchable TV shows ever. Aside from hitting play on the hilarious sitcom for all the great bits in the loft, it’s also a blast for all the major actors who guest-starred over the years. While there are way too many for this list to hold, we’ve compiled some of the biggest names that appeared on the show.

Jamie Lee Curtis

Oscar-winner Jamie Lee Curtis guest starred as the mother of Zooey Deschanel’s Jess Day in the Season 2 episode, “Parents.” Curtis was a great pick to match the quirky spirit of the sitcom’s leading character, and she returned to the series five more times after her initial debut on the series in Season 2.

Taylor Swift

When one thinks of Taylor Swift, sure, “actor” isn’t the first title that comes to mind, but over the years the phenomenon of a singer/songwriter has racked up numerous acting credits in projects like The Lorax, Cats and Amsterdam along. Oh, and what about all those epic Taylor Swift music videos? Anyways, Swift made an appearance in the Season 2 finale of New Girl when Cece is getting married to Shivrang. At the altar, the groom calls off the wedding to say that he wants to marry Swift’s character of Elaine instead.

Prince

One of the most memorable moments in New Girl has to be when the cast is invited to go to a party at Prince’s house… and they actually meet Prince. The Season 3 episode came about thanks to the iconic artist expressing interest in appearing in the show as a fan of the comedy. There’s nothing like that scene when Nick and Jess have a freakout when he appears.

Tiffany Haddish

Girls Trip actress and comedian Tiffany Haddish had a small role in the Season 3 episode “Exes” as a date of Damen Wayans Jr’s Coach. She is part of the plotline of Schmidt deciding to get his own apartment and encouraging Winston and Coach to use the place whenever they like for their hookups. In the scene, all three of them have used it at once and it freaks out Haddish’s character of Leslie.

Rob Reiner

All In The Family’s Rob Reiner returned to the sitcom fold as Jess Day’s dad, Bob, in multiple episodes of New Girl. The beloved actor (and director of classics like The Princess Bride, When Harry Met Sally, Misery, This Is Spinal Tap and Stand By Me) was in eleven total episodes of the series, appearing in almost every season of the show.

Lisa Bonet

The Cosby Show’s Lisa Bonet guest starred in the Season 4 episode “Teachers” as an education guru named Brenda Brown. Jess and Coach meet the character while attending together. She calls Coach out for his attitude during the presentation that causes him to stop being Jess’s “buffer” while she tries to ignore her feelings for a British teacher she’s crushing on at her school.

Kaitlin Olson

It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia’s Kaitlin Olson (who is back for Season 17 of the comedy) guest starred in New Girl for two episodes in Season 4. She plays Bob Day’s much younger fiancée, who happened to be the high school rival of Jess and Cece back in the day.

Josh Gad

The Book of Mormon and Frozen’s beloved snowman voice actor Josh Gad guest starred in three separate episodes of New Girl (in Season 2, 3 and 4) as a delivery man named Bearclaw who falls head over heels with Jess. He first appears in the episode “Katie” as a blind date gone wrong before also being in “Birthday” and “Walk of Shame.”

Dermot Mulroney

My Best Friend’s Wedding actor Dermot Mulroney is “Fancyman” in New Girl. The actor appeared as a guest star in eight episodes of the show throughout its run after becoming a favorite in Season 1. In the two part episode “Fancyman,” he is introduced as the wealthy father of one of Jess’s students who she strikes up a romance with.

Olivia Rodrigo

Yes, High School Musical: The Musical: The Series actress turned massive pop star Olivia Rodrigo was on New Girl, but it was before reaching mega-stardom. In the Season 6 episode “Young Adult,” Rodrigo plays one of the students in Jess’s school who becomes a huge fan of Nick Miller’s novel The Pepperwood Chronicles. In an effort for her students (including Rodrigo’s character of Terrinea) to like her better, Jess sets up a meeting between a few of the students and Nick.

Megan Fox

In Season 5 of New Girl, Zooey Deschanel was pregnant in real life and since that was not in the cards yet for Jess Day, the decision was made to have her character leave for a while on Jury Duty while Deschanel went on maternity leave. The creators decided to bring in Megan Fox’s Reagan to take Jess’s place and she ended up being part of 15 episodes of the series. Fox is of course also known for being in the Transformers movies, Jennifer’s Body and the live-action Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie.

Alan Ritchson

Before Alan Ritchson starred in one of the best Amazon Prime shows, Reacher, the actor had a memorable guest spot on New Girl in the episode “Micro”. In the Season 4 episode, Ritchson used his comedic chops as a guy Jess is seeing who she struggles with getting past the fact that Ritchson’s Matt has a micro penis.

Henry Winkler

Happy Days and Barry actor Henry Winkler appeared in New Girl (alongside the incredible Julie Hagerty and Taran Killam) in the Season 5 episode “What About Fred.” In the episode, Jess is dating a guy named Fred (Killam), who she finds very boring, but falls for spending time with his charismatic parents Winkler and Hagerty’s Flip and Nancy.

Parker Posey

Parker Posey, aka the “Queen of the Indies,” especially during the best movies of the 1990s, had a great guest appearance in New Girl during the Season 2 episode “Re-Launch.” Schmidt is having a re-branding party for himself and Posey plays a dishevelled shot girl who was not as advertised.

John Cho

Star Trek’s John Cho appeared on New Girl for the Season 5 episode “Jury Duty.” Jess tries to get out of getting on a case for a chance to be acting principal. She asks her friends to help, but fails miserably in front of Cho’s character, who ends up being the man questioning her for the case after they initially have a flirty meet-cute.

Adam Brody

The OC and Nobody Wants This’s Adam Brody was one of Jess’s ex-boyfriend’s, Berkley, in the Season 3 episode, “Exes.” In the episode, Jess tries to prove to Nick that exes can still be friends by introducing him to Berkley, but she’s proved wrong when she finds out his true intentions.

Quinta Brunson

Before Quinta Brunson was the Emmy-winning creator and star of the hit ABC comedy, Abbott Elementary, she had a brief role in New Girl, in the Season 7 episode “Mario.” When Nick is trying to propose to Jess, she unexpectedly adopts a dog, throwing off his plans. Brunson plays a restaurant host that Nick speaks to on the phone as the plans shift.

Stephen Amell

Arrow star Stephen Amell, who played the Green Arrow for eight seasons on The CW, was on New Girl for a couple of episodes in Season 1. He played Cece’s jerk boyfriend Kyle in “The 23rd” and “Valentine’s Day.” Cece ends things with Kyle in the latter episode after realizing she has feelings for Schmidt.

Jessica Biel

7th Heaven and The Sinner actress Jessica Biel stopped by New Girl for the Season 4 premiere “The Last Wedding.” When the gang goes to yet another wedding, Biel plays a single woman who ends up competing with Jess to earn the affection of its best man (played by Reid Scott).

Justin Long

Justin Long had a memorable guest star arc on the first season of New Girl. He plays Paul Genzlinger, a music teacher co-worker of Jess’s whom she starts dating in time for the show’s first Thanksgiving episode. Paul is often thought of as a male version of Jess. After the couple date for about a month and breakup, Long made a re-appearance in Season 4’s “Walk Of Shame.”

Linda Cardellini

New Girl fans got to meet Jess’s sister, Abby Day, in Season 3 through Linda Cardellini’s three-episode arc. The Dead To Me actress plays Jess’s troublemaker older sibling, who is just about completely opposite to the sitcom’s leading actress. Jess is constantly embarrassed by Abby’s behavior when she comes to stay in the loft after Jess saves her from prison.

Alexandra Daddario

Baywatch and The White Lotus’ Alexandra Daddario played one of the neighbors to the New Girl gang in two episodes of the series. Daddario’s Michelle is deemed as one of the “hot” new neighbors that Schmidt, Winston, Coach scramble to impress after their first meeting left something to be desired. Daddario appears in Season 3’s “Mars Landing” and Season 4’s “Goldmine.”

Andy Samberg

For quite a few years, New Girl and Brooklyn Nine-Nine were both big comedies airing on FOX at the same time. So in Season 6, the networks decided to crossover the comedies with a special New York episode for New Girl. While the friends are in the Big Apple, Jess gets some help from Andy Samberg’s Jake Peralta and the other cast. (The cast of New Girl was also on an episode of B99 called “The Night Shift” that aired the same week in 2016).

Peter Gallagher

The OC’s Peter Gallagher was in multiple episodes of New Girl as Schmidt’s father, Gavin. The vineyard owner first appears in the Season 5 episode “D-Day” when Jess is assisting Schmidt with wedding preparations. Gallagher, who has also been in famous movies like American Beauty and While You Were Sleeping, was a great fit to play Schmidt’s absentee dad.

Randall Park

Before Randall Park became the star of Fresh Off The Boat, Always Be My Maybe and WandaVision, he was briefly in a Season 1 episode of New Girl as an employee at a phone company (with frosted tips), who makes fun of Nick for his crazy low credit score.

Natasha Lyonne

Natasha Lyonne is a famous TV actress for her roles in Orange is the New Black, Russian Doll and Poker Face. Prior to those roles, she had a small role in New Girl’s third episode ever, “Wedding.” She played Gretchen Nelson, an acquaintance of Schmidt, who he ends up sleeping with at every wedding they both attend even though he claims he cannot stand her.

Dylan O'Brien

Teen Wolf star Dylan O’Brien plays the guy Jess Day lost her virginity to on the night of her prom back when she was in high school. In the episode “Virgins” from Season 2, Jess runs into him many years after their first meeting, but what could have been a sexual fantasy turns into an embarrassing moment for the two of them.

Brenda Song

The Suite Life Of Zack And Cody actress Brenda Song was in a few episodes in Season 2 (and one in Season 3) as Daisy, a love interest for Winston. It’s a short-lived romance for Winston, but Song is a guest star in what we consider to be No. 1 of the best New Girl episodes, “Cooler.”

Joey King

Before Joey King was the star of Netflix’s The Kissing Booth movies or the numerous 2024 movies she’s been in like A Family Affair, Uglies and Despicable Me 4, she was a popular child actor who was in Ramona & Beezus with Selena Gomez or the Taylor Swift music video “Mean.” She was also in a Season 1 episode of New Girl called “Bully” as one of Jess’s students.

Carla Gugino

Carla Gugino, known for the Spy Kids movies and being in multiple Mike Flanagan horror projects was in three 2012 episodes of New Girl as Schmidt’s new boss, Emma. In the first episode Gugino stars in “Menzies,” Schmidt gets into a sexual contract with her that doesn’t go as planned.

Nick Kroll

The very funny Nick Kroll is known for starring in The League, along with creating the Kroll Show and Netflix’s Big Mouth. In Season 2’s “Chicago,” where the gang goes to Nick’s hometown for his father’s funeral, Kroll plays one of Nick Miller’s brothers, alongside Bill Burr! You can tell Kroll and Burr had tons of fun with the Chicago accent bringing some levity to a rather emotional New Girl episode.

Fred Armisen

Saturday Night Live favorite (who was behind some of SNL's funniest recurring characters) and Portlandia lead Fred Armisen had a brief role in New Girl for the season five episode “No Girl.” While Jess is at jury duty, the gang rent out her room to random people, and Armisen plays a guy named Brandon. His short time there made a huge impression because of how funny he is with the guys. Remember when he read Schmidt his romance writing or dressed up like Jess at one point?

When certain actors become friends and discover they work well together, they tend to work together a lot. Adam Sandler works with Kevin James frequently, but he's far from the only one. Henry Winkler has appeared in four different Sandler movies, which you would think would make them close, but apparently when The Fonz does a favor for his friend, he doesn’t get much for his trouble.

In a recent appearance on the Let’s Talk Off Camera with Kelly Ripa podcast, the host asked Winkler about his friendship with Adam Sandler. Ripa mentioned that, according to Chris Rock, Sandler had bought Maserati sports cars for his co-stars in the comedy Grown-Ups. Well, when Henry Winkler appeared in The Waterboy, he did not get a car as a thank-you. Winkler said…

Apparently, Henry Winkler wasn’t originally cast as Coach Klein in Adam Sandler’s The Waterboy. For whatever reason, the film needed a last-minute replacement, and Sandler asked Winkler to take over. He did so, apparently happily, but also at the very last minute.

I’m assuming Henry Winkler did get paid for his performance and didn’t only get a cookie out of the deal. A cookie as an extra thank you probably seemed nice at the time, but discovering that other people who work with Sandler get cars makes the cookie seem a lot less impressive.

Winkler would go on to appear in Click, Little Nicky and Don't Mess with the Zohan. Winker has a better track record than other frequent Sandler collaborators. While these aren't the best Adam Sandler movies, they're also not the worst. Winkler hasn't appeared in any of Adam Sandler's Netflix movies though he tells Ripa he was in the audience for the comedy special Sandler did for Netflix.

For the record, if Adam Sandler ever reads this and wants to make it up to Henry Winkler, the actor doesn’t want a Maserati. He says the sports car is too low to the ground and he’d have difficulty getting in and out of it. Winkler would be happy with a small Lexus. And let’s be honest. Henry Winkler is an absolute legend, so somebody should buy the guy a Lexus.

I’m not saying Adam Sandler needs to buy all his co-stars sports cars. However, if that’s a thing he’s going to do, he should probably do it for the co-stars who completely save his butt who are also American icons. The Grown-Ups movies all came before Adam Sandler signed what certainly is reported to be a very lucrative deal with Netflix. The guy has the money, right?

It isn't easy to describe for those who don’t know just how big a star Henry Winkler was in the 1970s. His character, The Fonz, was the biggest part of Habby Days, one of the best sitcoms of all-time, even if he didn't really know how to ride a motorcycle. He was so big, that he apparently even got social calls from the FBI, though Henry Winkler was afraid he was getting arrested at the time.

The great Henry Winkler recently appeared on the Smartless podcast where he told the story of hanging out in his apartment, listening to music while smoking a bit of pot. Unfortunately, he got a visit at that exact moment from exactly who you don’t want to be at your door when technically committing a crime. Winkler explained…

One can imagine, depending on exactly how long Henry Winkler had been smoking, that he was a little extra paranoid when the three guys at the door showed their badges. This has to be the nightmare scenario for every person who ever got high in their bedroom in the 1970s. Unfortunately for Winkler, the agents did smell what they thought they were smelling. Fortunately for Winkler, they didn’t care. The Fonz continued…

On the one hand, marijuana possession probably wasn’t within the purview of the FBI at the time, so it wasn’t a crime they were technically concerned with. Of course, if they had wanted to arrest the actor, they certainly could have. Luckily for Henry Winkler, this was just three guys who wanted to meet the actor behind their favorite TV character. 

Henry Winkler’s overnight stardom would have its downsides. He later turned down the lead in the Grease movie because he wanted to avoid typecasting, only to discover that it was too late, as he had trouble finding other work for a long time. He would eventually be rediscovered by a new generation thanks to popular supporting roles as part of the Arrested Development cast and on HBO's Barry, the latter of which ultimately won Winkler an Emmy.

Henry Winkler may not be the most famous person in the world anymore, but he’s still an incredibly accomplished actor. He probably doesn’t get visits from the FBI anymore, but if he does, and their Arrested Development fans, he’ll be fine. 

The Parks and Rec cast by itself is legendary. Amy Poehler, Nick Offerman, Rob Lowe, Chris Pratt, Aubrey Plaza, Rashida Jones, Adam Scott and more served as regulars on the series for years, and to this day their characters are beloved. However, what made this show even more special was its constant stream of guest stars played by living legends. Everyone from Bill Murray to Michelle Obama to Ben Schwartz appeared on the NBC classic, and today, we’re here to talk about them. 

Paul Rudd

Now, I know we love Paul Rudd for his movies, but we also need to appreciate his brilliant work as Bobby Newport on Parks and Rec. During Season 4, the actor joined the cast to play the man running against Leslie Knope for a city council position. Overall, Bobby is childish, not smart and spoiled, and Rudd plays this silly idiot brilliantly. 

Bill Murray

Obviously, Bill Murray’s funniest roles include iconic characters like Phil Connors in Groundhog Day and Dr. Peter Venkman in Ghostbusters. However, his guest spot on Parks and Rec was unexpected and incredibly memorable. I write this because, for one episode in Season 7, the Saturday Night Live legend played Walter Gunderson, the dead mayor of Pawnee. 

Kathryn Hahn

Playing the cutthroat campaign manager Jen Barkley, Kathryn Hahn made a glorious (and a smidge evil) impact on Parks and Rec. She played a cutthroat manager who worked for Bobby Newport at first, and across ten episodes she popped in from time to time to both help and harm Leslie’s political career. 

Ben Schwartz 

Arguably, Jean-Ralphio Saperstein is one of the best recurring guest stars in Parks and Rec history. The rich boy who is friends with Tom is ridiculous, scammy and he’s constantly trying to flirt with everyone and sing whenever he can. While he’s 100% the worst, he’s also totally not “the WORRRRRRSSSSSTTTT,” if you know what I mean.  

Jenny Slate

In a stroke of perfect casting, Jenny Slate popped into Parks and Rec to play Jean-Ralphio’s sister Mona Lisa Saperstein. The siblings truly are the most chaotic duo, however, they’re also the two of the funniest extra side characters the sitcom has to offer. Just don’t fall for it when they ask for “money please!”

Henry Winkler

After getting to know Jean-Ralphio and Mona Lisa, we meet their father, Lu Saperstein in Season 6. Played brilliantly by Henry Winkler, the patriarch of the Saperstein family is a successful doctor who is willing to go to any financial length to help his kids. 

Sam Elliott

In the later seasons of the show, we met the Eagleton Parks Department. Ironically, each member of that crew matched up with a member of the Parks and Rec cast, and when it came to picking someone to play Nick Offerman’s Ron Swanson’s counterpart, they cast Sam Elliott as Ron Dunn. While they both have legendary mustaches and an appreciation for the outdoors, that’s where the similarities stop, and seeing Ron and Anti-Ron go head-to-head was hilarious. 

Joe Biden

Leslie loves her politicians and had a massive crush on then-Vice President Joe Biden. As an engagement gift, Ben decided to give her the perfect present and prove that he’s the ideal man, by coordinating a meet and greet between Leslie and Joe Biden.

Patton Oswalt

When Leslie tries to change Pawnee’s charter to get rid of some silly laws – like throwing a Ted into a lake – Garth Blundin makes his disapproval clear. Patton Oswalt plays the historian, and he challenges Amy Poehler’s character to a filibuster and a day of living like a colonial person. Ultimately, he and Leslie find common ground, and he joins forces with her to help preserve the laws…he also volunteers to get thrown in the lake.

Michelle Obama

As Leslie tries to figure out if she should take a job at the National Parks Department and leave Pawnee, Michelle Obama comes in to tell her about why she should take it. Let’s just say if I met the First Lady, I think I’d be just as star-struck as Leslie Knope. How could you not stumble over your words if you casually bumped into the First Lady of the United States?

Bo Burnham

Some of the funniest stand-up on Netflix comes from Bo Burnham, and in his special Make Happy, he sings a “Country Song” that pokes fun at the cliches in the genre and how some artists are masters at pandering to their audiences. On Parks and Rec, he worked with that idea as well by playing country singer Chipp McCapp who Leslie and Andy tried to hire for a performance at the Unity Concert. His songs like “Beautiful Like My Mom (Support the Troops)” were truly hilarious, and they complimented the stand-up comedian's sense of humor very well. 

John McCain

Parks and Rec knows how to do a political cameo, and one of the best ones came when Leslie didn’t even realize she’d just met John McCain in a coat closet. She was so distraught over interacting with #4 and #26 on Leslie’s list of amazing women, that she didn’t even notice she was speaking with the senator. 

Megan Mullally

You know chaos mode has been activated when Ron’s second ex-wife Tammy II enters the chat. She’s constantly trying to simultaneously take Ron down and get back together with her, and his efforts to avoid it are truly hilarious. However, what really makes this dynamic duo so hysterical and one of the best recurring inside jokes on Parks and Rec is the fact that Tammy II is played by Nick Offerman’s real-life wife Megan Mullally. 

Will Forte

Amy Poehler and Will Forte were both in some of SNL’s best casts, and it was such a treat to see them reunite on Parks and Rec. In his episode, Forte played Kelly, a man who really wants to get the Twilight books put in Pawnee’s town time capsule. When Leslie refuses and then agrees, it starts an outcry over what can and can’t go in the capsule via a chaotic town meeting. 

Jon Hamm

According to Leslie, Jon Hamm’s Ed is the “most incompetent person I’ve ever worked with.” He worked for our leading lady when she was at the National Parks Department, and he was swiftly fired by her not long after we met him. 

John Cena

In an epic episode of Andy’s show, the Johnny Karate Super Awesome Musical Explosion Show, Burt Macklin, FBI, arrested John Cena – who was wearing so much of his own WWE merch – and took him to the dunk tank. Talk about a dream come true for Andy and viewers.

Keegan-Michael Key

There’s no question that all our hearts grew a few sizes when Donna married Keegan-Michael Key’s Joe. The comedian played the “Treat yo’ self’ queen’s boyfriend-turned-husband in Seasons 6 and 7, and it’s safe to say that we all adored this music teacher. 

Bradley Whitford

Considering Parks and Rec is a show about government and Rob Lowe is one of its stars, it made perfect sense for a West Wing cast member to pop into the sitcom. It was done perfectly too, because the team brought in Josh himself, as Bradley Whitford played Councilman Pillner, the man Leslie replaces on City Council and a model boat enthusiast. 

J.K. Simmons

Remember Ice Town? Well, Ben’s hometown of Partridge and J.K. Simmons’ Mayor Stice sure do. And that became clear as day when an episode of Parks went back to Adam Scott’s character’s hometown so he could get a key to the city, which ended up just being melted water in a box…because Ice Town. 

Patricia Clarkson

While Megan Mullally’s Tammy II is truly unhinged and chaotic, Tammy I is cold, calculated, and manipulative. She’s played by Patricia Clarkson, and she really adds to the hilarious chaos that is Ron Swanson’s love life. 

Andy Samberg

Back when Andy Samberg was still on Saturday Night Live and before he led his own sitcom, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, he guest starred on Parks and Rec as the incredibly loud Park Ranger Carl. During Season 2, Leslie worked with Carl on a few issues of Parks security, and let's just say that she “might not be so confident, when [she has to] walk a mile in [Carl’s]  size sevens.” 

Rachel Dratch

In the final season of Parks and Recreation, Amy Poehler’s Saturday Night Live co-star Rachel Dratch appeared as Roz Pinwheel, the nanny of Leslie and Ben’s triplets. While a small role, it was such a nice (and funny) nod to the two comedians' time together on the legendary sketch comedy show.

Nick Kroll

If you were looking to get humiliated on the radio look no further than "The Douche." This hilarious and terrible radio host was played by the mastermind behind one of the best animated shows, Big Mouth, Nick Kroll, and anytime he showed up to host a radio spot on the series, you knew something wild was about to go down.

Chelsea Peretti

While Leslie ran for City Council, April filled in for her one time, and during one of her seminars Brooklyn Nine-Nine’s Chelsea Peretti showed up as one of the attendees, Zelda. Fun fact: before Peretti was part of the Brooklyn Nine-Nine cast, she actually wrote two episodes of Parks and Rec, which helps explain her lil cameo in the series. 

Kristen Bell

Kristen Bell was quite literally the perfect person to play Leslie Knope’s Eagleton councilwoman counterpart, Ingrid de Forest. It turns out, Bell was born to thrive on a comedy like this, because after Parks and Rec, she went on to lead the cast of The Good Place, which was Michael Schur’s next show after Parks.  

Dax Shepard

When Tom decides to become Andy’s manager as he works on Johnny Karate, they have a run-in with Hank Muntak, a TV executive in Pawnee who is played by Dax Shepard. Before this guest spot, the actor had spent a lot of time on NBC as one of the stars of Parenthood, these days you can find him hosting his podcast Armchair Expert. 

Will Arnett

Before Leslie meets and falls in love with Ben, she goes on some wildly terrible dates, including one with MRI technician Chris. At the time, Amy Poehler and Will Arnett were actually married (they’re divorced now), making this blind date even funnier because they were a real-life couple too. 

Sean Hayes

Bobby Wood was Indianapolis’ best talk show host, and he was played by Sean Hayes. As television appearances tend to go for Leslie and co. her interview with him didn’t exactly go well, and both comedic actors were so funny in the moment. 

Fred Armisen

You can always count on Fred Armisen to play the wildest goofy guys, and he did exactly that on Parks and Recreation. In the episode “Sister City,” the SNL vet appeared as Raul Alejandro Bastilla Pedro de Veloso de Maldonado, the Venezuelan officer who came to represent his city on a trip to Pawnee. 

Tatiana Maslany

Tom Haverford’s love life was always a funny point of interest on Parks and Rec, especially because it was only brought up occasionally. For instance, in Season 6, he had a short-lived relationship with Tatiana Maslany’s Nadia Stasky, a doctor who eventually left Pawnee and moved to Rwanda.  

Parker Posey

Indie darling Parker Posey came on to Parks and Rec to play Lindsay Carlisle Shay. The character was Leslie’s counterpart from Eagleton, meaning she was the Deputy Parks Director in Pawnee’s fancy rival town. The twist here was that Lindsay was actually Leslie’s friend and went behind her back a long time ago to take the job in Eagleton. 

Jason Schwartzman

Jason Schwartzman’s role in Parks and Rec presented an interesting issue for Pawnee when he decided to turn his video rental store into an adult store. Watching Leslie flounder as she figured out how to help the character played by the Asteroid City star was so funny, and the character of Dennis was perfect for Schwartzman.  

Honestly, the guest stars from Parks and Rec are next level. From comedy geniuses to beloved dramatic actors, so many notable names took a quick trip to Pawnee, Indiana and I love that for them, this wonderful show and us. 

When it comes to those channels that we all need to pay a little extra for – such as Showtime, Starz, etc. – they all seem to produce some of the absolute best shows. But you want to know which channel I think has made stars even bigger? HBO. 

The channel, which stands for 'Home Box Office,' has produced some of the best TV shows of the last twenty or so years, and with that, several actors and actresses have come and gone and left their mark, earning plenty of awards recognition for their work in the shows. Today, we'll be going over 32 of them. 

Emilia Clarke (Game Of Thrones)

Of the Game of Thrones cast, Emilia Clarke probably became one of the most-known actresses in the world after her portrayal of Daenerys Targaryen. On the show for the entirety of its eight seasons, Clarke earned plenty of awards recognition and was nominated several times for a Primetime Emmy Award for her role in the show, including her last nomination in the Lead Actress category. 

Jonathan Groff (Looking)

While Jonathan Groff never earned a Primetime Emmy nomination for his role in the LGBTQ+ show Looking, he did win plenty of other awards for his time on the show. Groff is known to be a triple threat with his acting, singing, and dancing talents. He was even a part of the original Hamilton cast, but his starring role in Looking brought on plenty of recognition.

Zendaya (Euphoria)

The Euphoria cast is filled with talent, but let's be honest – Zendaya is the main star we're all looking towards. Nominated several times for the show for a Primetime Emmy, Euphoria has taken this once Disney Channel star and given her the chance to show off her incredible acting skills, one I'm sure she'll continue to do. 

Peter Dinklage (Game Of Thrones)

Peter Dinklage has been around in movies and TV for some time, but everyone recognizes him as Tyrion Lannister from Game of Thrones, a performance he did for eight show seasons. Out of the entire cast, Dinklage was the one to be nominated for the most Primetime Emmys – and he won four times. 

Lena Dunham (Girls)

Girls lasted for six seasons and gave plenty of stars shining lights, such as Allison Williams, Adam Driver, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, and more, but Lena Dunham was certainly the award-winner of the group. The actress, who also created the comedy for HBO, earned several nominations at the Primetime Emmys, the Golden Globes, and more. 

Tony Hale (Veep)

The Veep cast is highly talented, and Tony Hale is just one of many. And his role as Gary Walsh in Veep is undoubtedly one of his best. Among several other awards that he was nominated for this role, he won the Primetime Emmy award for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series twice before the series ended. 

Bill Hader (Barry)

This show – especially Barry Season 4 – was a rollercoaster ride from beginning to end, and Bill Hader's performance has been hailed as one of the best of the show. Hader has been nominated for several Primetime Emmy Awards, and the show has also been nominated for Outstanding Comedy.  

Michael C. Hall (Six Feet Under)

While Michael C. Hall gained a lot of fame for another role he did – the still rewatchable Dexter on Showtime – he gained a lot of fame at first for his role in Six Feet Under, where he played David, one of the brothers who owns a family-funeral home. His role in the show earned him several nominations, including Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series. 

Jeremy Strong (Succession)

Succession’s success is awesome to watch, growing larger and more prominent over the years, and one of the lead actors, Jeremy Strong, has gained a lot of award recognition throughout the series' four seasons. Among Outstanding Writing, Outstanding Drama Series, and more, Strong has also earned nominations for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series at the Primetime Emmys. 

Lena Headey (Game Of Thrones)

Cersei Lannister is undoubtedly one of the most-hated villains of Game of Thrones, but I don't think anyone could hate Lena Headey's performance. Throughout the series, the actress earned several nominations for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series, among several other awards at the Golden Globes, the Poppy Awards, and more. 

Anthony Carrigan (Barry)

I don't know where it came from, but NoHo Hank became my favorite character in Barry, and I think it's because of Anthony Carrigan's portrayal of him. While Carrigan's character didn't get as much hype at the beginning of Barry, the actor has earned several awards for his role in the show, including Primetime Emmy nominations. 

Diana Rigg (Game Of Thrones)

Olenna Tyrell had to be the best player in Game of Thrones, and I'm pretty sure we all were heartbroken when Diana Rigg passed away. The actress earned several nominations for her role in the show, including Primetime Emmys for her guest appearances. Who could ever forget Olenna? 

Brian Cox (Succession)

I don't think anyone could forget Brian Cox as the patriarch of the Roy family in Succession, Logan Roy, the leading man we were all following for years on end. And, of course, Cox earned plenty of praise for his portrayal in the show, including several Primetime Emmy nominations and wins. 

Sydney Sweeney (The White Lotus And Euphoria)

Sydney Sweeney is an exceptional case on this list, as two of her shows on HBO have earned her nominations. She was a part of The White Lotus Season 1 cast, which earned her a Primetime Emmy nod, and for the second season of Euphoria, she also earned a nomination for Outstanding Supporting Actress. Both of which were certainly deserved. 

Julia Louis-Dreyfus (Veep)

As the lead of Veep, I don't think we could get through a list like this without mentioning Julia Louis-Dreyfus and her role as Selina Meyer. The series, which ran from 2012 - 2019, was a massive success for her and earned the actress several nominations and wins for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy and the series for Outstanding Comedy Series at the Primetime Emmys. 

James Gandolfini (The Sopranos)

We can only have an HBO list by mentioning James Gandolfini from The Sopranos. As the patriarch of the Soprano family, Tony, James Gandolfini won several awards over the series, including Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series at the Emmys three times. The show itself also won Outstanding Drama Series several times. 

Evan Peters (Mare Of Easttown)

Mare of Easttown was a limited series on HBO, and the entirety of the cast was incredibly impressive. Evan Peters has gained fame over the last decade for his roles in movies like X-Men and the anthology series American Horror Story, but his role as Detective Colin Zabel has been hailed as one of his best. His portrayal earned him the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie, among other awards. 

Henry Winkler (Barry)

Henry Winkler is a TV legend from Happy Days, but his role in Barry is one of my favorites. And the people who award these actors agreed too, as Winkler earned several awards for his character, Gene Cousineau, including Primetime Emmy wins. 

Kate Winslet (Mare Of Easttown)

Kate Winslet was the star of Mare of Easttown, a limited series on HBO, and out of everyone on the cast, she won the most awards for her time on the show. Some of her accomplishments include Outstanding Lead Actress in a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie at the Primetime Emmys, TV Film of Miniseries Lead Actress of the Year for the Gold Derby Awards, Best Television Movie or Miniseries Actress for the Critics Choice Awards, and more. 

Edie Falco (The Sopranos)

For the six seasons of the American crime series The Sopranos, my favorite out of the entire cast was Edie Falco. Carmela was possibly the best TV wife out there and was the only person who would keep up with Tony's mess. Falco's portrayal of her went down in history. The actress was nominated for (and won) several Primetime Emmy Awards, Golden Globes, and more. 

Michael Imperioli (The Sopranos)

Michael Imperioli played Christopher Moltisanti, the protégé of Tony in The Sopranos and someone who seemed to get some of the best storylines in the show. During his time on the series, Imperioli was nominated for his role in several awards, such as  Emmys, Golden Globes, Prism Awards, and more. 

Jake Lacy (The White Lotus Season 1)

The White Lotus cast for Season 1 had some impressive talent, but everyone seriously loved to hate Jake Lacy's character, Shane Patton. But everyone also loves his performance — which earned the actor several nominations across awards shows, including a nomination for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie. 

Nikolaj Coster-Waldau (Game Of Thrones)

Game of Thrones created several big names for Hollywood, and Nikolaj Coster-Waldau is another that we saw plenty of in the awards sphere. His character of Jamie Lannister is often credited as having one of the best character arcs in television and earned several award nominations, including the Primetime Emmys. Game of Thrones itself won Outstanding Drama Series several times. 

Sarah Snook (Succession)

The entire Succession cast is filled with talent, but one of my favorites has always been Sarah Snook, who played Shiv in the popular HBO series. Portraying the character for all four seasons, Snook has been nominated for several awards, including Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series. 

Alexandra Daddario (The White Lotus, Season 1)

Daddario has been in the industry for some time, but her role in The White Lotus Season 1 is considered one of her best. The anthology series gave the actress the chance to shine as Rachel, and she was nominated for several awards, including Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie at the Primetime Emmys.  

Matthew McConaughey (True Detective, Season 1)

True Detective is an anthology series from HBO, and many lovers of the show agree that Season 1 had one of the best storylines, led by a captivating performance from Matthew McConaughey. The Academy Award-winning actor earned several awards for his lead performance in the first season, including a Crime Thriller Award, a Critics' Choice Award, a Primetime Emmy nomination, a Golden Globe nomination, and more. 

Issa Rae (Insecure)

Insecure is a comedy-drama from HBO, featuring co-creator Issa Rae in the show's lead role. The series was extremely well-received, and Rae was nominated for several awards, including Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series at the Primetime Emmys and Best Actress – Television Series Musical or Comedy at the Golden Globes. 

Kit Harrington (Game Of Thrones)

Jon Snow is probably the most known character from Game of Thrones aside from Daenerys and Tyrion – which is not surprising considering the character is getting his own Game of Thrones spinoff series. The actor behind him, Kit Harrington, was nominated for several awards during his time on the show, including the Primetime Emmy award for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama for the show's final season. 

Jennifer Coolidge (The White Lotus, Seasons 1 And 2)

While The White Lotus is an anthology series, Jennifer Coolidge was a part of the main cast for the first two seasons (and only the first two). And her time on the show as Tanya was exceptionally well-received and loved. Among many other awards, Coolidge won the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Limited or Anthology Series of Movies. 

Anthony Hopkins (Westworld)

Anthony Hopkins is one of the most critically acclaimed actors of our time, and of course, he has been praised for his TV performances. This time around, it's Westworld, where he earned several nominations from the Primetime Emmys, Golden Globes, and more. The series was also nominated for Outstanding Drama Series at the Primetime Emmys. 

Murray Bartlett (The White Lotus Season 1)

Murray Bartlett was a part of The White Lotus Season 1 and he was honestly one of the show's funniest characters. For his performance as Armond, Bartlett earned several nominations. The show was also nominated for Outstanding Limited or Anthology Series for Season 1.

Jeffrey Wright (Westworld)

Jeffrey Wright is a great actor who has been in various movies and TV shows, but one of his most critically acclaimed roles was portraying Bernard Lowe in Westworld, a series he starred in for some time. Wright earned several nominations, including the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series. 

There are so many amazing actors and actresses who have gone on to do incredible things. And truthfully, this makes me want to see all these shows again to see their talent. Is anyone up for a Game of Thrones rewatch?

The entertainment industry is a funny place, one with its own set of rules. And one that has happened countless times over the years is that oftentimes the actors playing teenagers are a little long in the tooth to be doing so. Some of these performances are beloved, and others are infamous. There are particularly 32 actors that were way too old to be playing teens but did it anyway. And if you ask me, each performance on this list is pretty iconic.

Working with actual teenagers is tricky, unless the actor is emancipated and able to deal with the long hours usually required for TV and film work. So it's definitely understandable that production have chosen actors who were too long in the tooth to play their respective roles. In no particular order, here are the infamous 32.

Rachel McAdams, Mean Girls

You can't think of Rachel McAdams without her performance as Regina George in Mean Girls. While the cast of Mean Girls was mostly age appropriate, McAdams was actually 25 years old when playing the queen of the plastics. Still, I can't imagine anyone who could have played her better. 

Joseph Quinn, Stranger Things

The fourth season of Stranger Things was a star-making moment for Joseph Quinn, who played Eddie Munson. He quickly became a fan favorite, but those same fans might be surprised to learn that he's actually already 29 years old. Unfortunately, the finale of Stranger Things 4 seemingly implied we won't be seeing him again for the final batch of episodes. 

Stacey Dash, Clueless

There are a number of epic teen movies on this list, and Clueless is truly a piece of '90s film history. The comedy followed a group of ultra rich high school students, but it turns out that Dionne actress Stacey Dash was 28 when filming her performance in the movie. Plus, she went on to reprise that role in the TV spinoff. 

Leonardo DiCaprio, Catch Me If You Can

Steven Spielberg's Catch Me if You Can came out in 2002, and told a true story about an infamous con man, Frank Abagnale Jr.. That was played by none other than Leonardo DiCaprio, and spanned many years of his life, starting at just 17 years old. However, the Titanic actor was actually 28 when he filmed this classic movie. 

Alan Ruck, Ferris Bueller's Day Off

John Hughes' Ferris Bueller's Day Off is a classic comedy, one that remains a quotable part of the pop culture lexicon to this day. Succession actor Alan Ruck gave an outstanding performance as Cameron Frye, but he was actually nearly 30 when portraying a high school student opposite Matthew Broderick. 

Stockard Channing, Grease

Grease is a beloved movie musical, one that I actually think improves upon the stage musical of the same name. While it's full of iconic performances, a lot of of the cast is  a bit too old for their roles. That includes Rizzo actress Stockard Channing, who was 33 years old. Regardless, she is THE Betty Rizzo, and she absolutely crushed the role. 

Shirley Henderson, Harry Potter

The cast of Harry Potter grew up before our eyes, with the kids joined by some legendary actors playing the universe's adults. But fans might not realize that Moaning Myrtle actress Shirley Henderson was actually a 36-year-old adult when portraying the ghostly teenager. 

Henry Winkler, Happy Days

Happy Days influenced a lot of pop culture, including being responsible for the term "jumping the shark." Henry Winkler has had a long career since then, but he'll always be Fonzie. Although he wasn't quite a teenager, as he was 28 when he landed that leather-clad role. 

Ncuti Gatwa, Sex Education

Sex Education was a beloved teenage comedy for those with a Netflix subscription, and it wrapped up after four seasons. Ncuti Gatwa played fan favorite Eric Effiong, but he was actually 26 when the show first came out. 

Andrew Garfield, The Amazing Spider-Man

While Tom Holland was praised for being an authentically young actor in the MCU, his predecessors were a bit older during their run as the wall crawler. Oscar nominee Andrew Garfield was actually 27 when he debuted in The Amazing Spider-Man, portraying playing high school student Peter Parker. And Garfield got to reprise his role in Spider-Man: No Way Home. 

Jason Earles, Hannah Montana

Hannah Montana ran for a long time on Disney Channel, and made Miley Cyrus into a megastar. The show also starred Jason Earles as her older brother Jackson. But while he was playing a 16-year-old, he was actually 29 when the show began. 

Gabrielle Carteris, Beverly Hills, 90210

Beverly Hills, 90210 has a long run on TV, and is quintessential '90s culture. While some of Beverly Hills, 90210's cast was quite young, Andrea Zuckerman actress Gabrielle Carteris was actually 29 when the show first began. 

Keiko Agena, Gilmore Girls

Gilmore Girls is a show that still has a strong fanbase, who re-watch its even season run as well as the Netflix spinoff A Year in the Life. While Alexis Bledel grew up and became a grown actress before our eyes, Rory's best friend Lane was played by Keiko Agena, who was 27 when the show first began. 

Ben Platt, Dear Evan Hansen

This entry is one that folks might have guessed would appear. In 2021, Tony winner Ben Platt reprised his role as the title character the Dear Evan Hansen movie. Platt caught a ton of flak for starring in Dear Evan Hansen at 27 years old, and was made into countless memes as a result. Still, I thought he was great in the role and a lot of backlash was unjust; I mean, look at the other entries in this list!

Nicholas Brendan, Buffy the Vampire Slayer

Buffy the Vampire Slayer is a cult classic TV show that's still super popular today. The first three seasons were set at Sunnydale High School, with the characters' personal drama mirroring their battle with demons. But Xander actor Nicholas Brendan was actually 25 when he landed the role in Joss Whedon's TV series. 

Johnny Depp, 21 Jump Street

Johnny Depp has had a long career, including a number of truly beloved roles like Edward Scissorhands and Captain Jack Sparrow. But his first big role was as Officer Thomas "Tom" Hanson Jr. in 21 Jump Street. He played a young looking cop posing as a high school student, but was actually 24 years old when he started filming Season 1. And that show would go on to run for 5 seasons. 

Paul Rudd, Wet Hot American Summer

Wet Hot American Summer is a cult classic comedy, and follows a group of teen camp counselors who are into all sorts of campy debauchery. Paul Rudd gave a hilarious performance as Andy, but was actually 31 years old. Although that's nothing since the cast of Wet Hot American Summer reprised their roles in a Netflix show, all of whom were vastly over the age of their characters. 

Gabrielle Union, Bring It On

Bring It On is another beloved teen movie, one that centers around two rivaling high school cheer squads in California. Gabrielle Union gave a killer performance as Isis, although she was actually 27 at the point of filming. 

Audrey Hepburn, Breakfast at Tiffany's

Audrey Hepburn was a classic actress with a number of beloved film credits. Breakfast at Tiffany's is definitely in that category, although she was 31 at the point of playing the 19-year-old character Holly Golightly. 

Michael Rosenbaum, Smallville

Smallville was a popular series that served as a teenage origin story for Clark Kent/Superman. While the cast all portrayed teens during Season 1, some of them were a bit long in the tooth. Case in point: Lex Luthor actor Michael Rosenbaum who was actually 27 years old back in Season 1. 

Ashleigh Murray, Riverdale

Riverdale's series finale aired in August of 2023, with the show running on The CW for seven seasons. Plenty of iconic Archie Comics characters appeared, including Josie McCoy. But despite playing high school sophomore, actress Ashleigh Murray was actually 28 when she fist appeared back in Season 1. 

Cory Monteith, Glee

Glee became a huge hit when it premiered on Fox, and catapulted its cast of unknowns as full-blown TV stars. Late actor Cory Monteith starred as leading man Finn Hudson, but was 27 years old when debuting as his signature character.  

Ross Butler, 13 Reasons Why

Netflix's 13 Reasons Why was a dark adaptation of the novel of the same name, and would eventually expand to a four-season run. Ross Butler played high schooler Zach, and was actually 26 years old back in Season 1.

Darren Barnet, Never Have I Ever

Never Have I Ever centers around 15-year-old girl Devi, and we watch various love stories play out throughout its run on Netflix. She has a huge crush on Darren Barnet's Paxton, who was 16. Although in reality the actor was 29 years old when Season 1 aired. 

Judd Nelson, The Breakfast Club

The Breakfast Club is a quintessential '80s movie, and was released at the height of the Brat Pack's popularity. One of the leading characters was Judd Nelson's Bender aka The Criminal. But despite being in detention throughout the movie's runtime, Nelson was actually 24 years old when portraying that character. 

Jennifer Grey, Dirty Dancing

Dirty Dancing features beloved performances by both Patrick Swayze and Jennifer Grey. The latter actress danced her heart out as Baby, although she was 26 years old rather than her character's 17. 

Winona Ryder, Girl, Interrupted

1999's Girl, Interrupted was an Oscar winning drama that was a huge critical success. Winona Ryder starred as 18-year-old protagonist Susanna Kaysen, and provided a deeply moving performance. No one could have done it better, although she was truly 26 years old at the time of filming. 

Nicola Coughlan, Derry Girls

Derry Girls is one of Netflix's many coming-of-age TV shows that is included on this list. The show follows a group of teenage girls, and all the hilarious mistakes that occur as they grow up. But actress Nicola Coughlan was actually 30 years old at the time of filming the show's first season. 

Gabourey Sidibe, Precious

Lee Daniels' Precious is a truly harrowing film experience, one that elicits strong emotions for its title character, 16-year-old Claireece Precious Jones. Actress Gabourey Sidibe received wide acclaim for her performance in the movie, although she was actually 24 years old when she got the role. 

Barbra Streisand, Yentl

Yentl is a masterpiece by Barbra Streisand, who directed, wrote, and starred in the acclaimed musical drama. But while her character was a young woman, she was actually 41 years old at the point of filming the acclaimed film.

Florence Pugh, Little Women

Greta Gerwig's Little Women movie was a huge hit when it arrived in theaters back in 2019. It got a bunch of major awards nominations, with Florence Pugh getting a Best Supporting nom at the Oscars for portraying Amy March. But while Amy was just 13 years old at her youngest point in the film, Pugh was actually 22.

Tobey Maguire, Spider-Man

Tobey Maguire was the first actor to play Spider-Man in live-action, before being followed by the likes of Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire. But while the latter actor was the most age appropriate, his predecessors weren't. Maguire was actually 26 years old while playing the teenager Peter Parker. 

Despite the discrepancy between many of these actors and their characters, many of the actors listed above still crushed their roles. Although yes, some of these actors are somewhat infamous for being too old to portray teenagers. Still, smart money says this trend will continue with future TV and film projects.

If you were like me over the last few years, HBO has become your life. From one of the best fantasy shows out there, House of the Dragon, to the world of The Last of Us coming to life in T.V. form, HBO has amazing shows, and one happens to be Barry.

Created by Bill Hader, Barry was a show about a hitman finding his passion in acting when he went to L.A. for a job, and the drama unfolded from there. Four seasons have come and gone, wrapping up with the Barry finale, and now the actors are all doing new things. 

But what movies and T.V. shows should you look out for? Here is what the Barry cast will be up to in the next few years. 

Bill Hader (Barry Berkman)

You can't have Barry without Barry himself, played by Bill Hader, who also created the show and wrote, directed and produced episodes. Honestly, Barry is undoubtedly one of Bill Hader's best TV shows. 

Hader has done a lot over the years since Barry began. Among that includes appearing in the Lightyear cast, as well as a small cameo role in the Ari Aster film Beau is Afraid. He also held a voice role in the film IF. 

Coming up, Bill Hader will be starring as The Cat in a new The Cat in the Hat adaptation, according to The Hollywood Reporter in March 2024, which already has a release date of March 6, 2026. And now I’m even more excited.   

Stephen Root (Monroe Fuches)

Monroe Fuches was one of the most aggravating, annoying characters I have ever had the misfortune to witness on my television screen. And Stephen Root played Barry's old "friend" and later enemy for the whole series excellently. 

Root has appeared in various T.V. shows over the last few years aside from Barry, such as a guest starring role on Clone High, Praise Petey, Hamster & Gretel, and more. He also had a small guest role on another hit HBO show, Succession, and had a main role in Master of the Universe: Revelation

Aside from his parts in the last few years, Root will appear in two new films. One will be called Heads of State according to Deadline. He will also star in a new film called Playdate, which was reported by Deadline in April 2024, where he will star alongside Sarah Chalke, Alan Tudyk and more. 

Sarah Goldberg (Sally Reed)

Sally was one of the main reasons Barry ended up staying in California in the pilot episode, thanks to how kind she was – and it later ended up becoming her biggest mistake in Barry. Sarah Goldberg brought that character to life with her brilliant acting for all four seasons. 

Goldberg has appeared in a few films and TV shows since Barry began, including the TV series Sisters, and the movies The Hummingbird Project, The Report, Rogue Agent, and more. 

The Barry actress confirmed she wrapped a new film called We Strangers in an interview with CherryPicks in May 2023, which had its festival debut at South by Southwest in March 2024, according to Deadline. An official release date has not been announced. 

Anthony Carrigan (NoHo Hank)

Arguably, NoHo Hank was one of the most memorable characters from Barry, and you can't deny that Anthony Carrigan's performance was as unique as the memorable crime boss. For four seasons, he ruled the streets – with impeccable fashion and hilarious one-liners. 

Since Barry began, Carrigan has appeared in movies like Fatherhood, Bill & Ted Face the Music, and Killer Whalers. He has done plenty of voice work, too, like Captain Fall and the fun Scooby-Doo film Trick or Treat Scooby-Doo! In 2024, he appeared in the film McVeigh. 

Like many of his co-stars, Carrigan already has some stuff lined up. His most significant role is that he will play Rex Mason in the upcoming Superman: Legacy cast. Carrigan will also have a role in the upcoming A24 film, Death of a Unicorn, according to Deadline. 

And, what’s even more exciting is that he will be in Twisted Metal Season 2, and returning back to TV once more, according to Variety. 

Henry Winkler (Gene Cousineau)

Let's be honest and say that Henry Winkler was hands down one of the best additions to the Barry cast from the first time we saw him as Gene Cousineau. In my attempt to catch up to Barry Season 4, he was easily one of my favorite parts.

In addition to his work on Barry, Winkler has done voice acting in shows like Rugrats, The Legend of Vox Machina and Human Resources. He also guest-starred in an episode of Family Guy, and had a guest appearance on the Netflix show, Quarterback. He was also a part of the Black Adam cast, where he played Uncle Al. 

So far, there’s nothing announced in terms of movies and TV coming up, but Winkler released a memoir back in 2023, and he’s going on tour for the paperback release of it this year, according to his Twitter, so if you want to meet the iconic actor in person, now’s your chance. 

Robert Wisdom (Jim Moss)

Jim Moss was one of those characters that became a significant deal in the later seasons. The father of the Season 1 character, Detective Janice Moss, is one of the reasons why Barry ended up arrested. 

Robert Wisdom, who played Jim Moss, appeared in several other TV shows during his time on the series, including Accused and Black Bird. The actor also had a guest role in Star Trek: Strange New Worlds. 

According to IndieWire in June 2024, Wisdom will appear in a new film called Dreams & Nightmares, from Shatara Michelle Ford, so keep an eye out for that.  

Sarah Burns (Mae Dunn)

The last character to talk about on this list has to be Mae Dunn, who was the detective who took over Janice's case after she died and was one of the prominent people who aided in getting Barry behind bars. Sara Burns played this role. 

The actress has appeared in Werewolves Within and Moving On since she began Barry. She also appeared in the 2024 film Unfrosted, and the TV series, Chad. So far she has nothing new coming up, but we’ll be sure to update you when she does.  

With such a talented cast, I'm sure it won't be long before we see them all again in incredible movies and T.V. shows. Until then, I'm content just rewatching the series over and over. Here's to Barry, and its excellent four-season run.  

Though Henry Winkler has taken on plenty of roles over the years, he'll surely always be Fonzie from Happy Days for multiple generations of TV viewers. The character was the king of cool and known for riding his motorcycle over to Arnold’s. But while the Fonz was a natural on his motorbike, the same couldn’t be said for Winkler himself, it seems. In fact, the pop culture icon recalled nearly hitting a crew member during a motorcycle mishap on the set of the beloved sitcom.

While promoting the final season of Barry on The Jennifer Hudson Show, the star, who waited 42 years for his Emmy, shared a not-so-cool moment from his time as the Fonz. During the chat, he disclosed that he landed the iconic role just two weeks after moving to Los Angeles. Hudson then brought up the fact that Winkler only rode the bike once during his stint on the classic ABC show, which he confirmed before divulging some details from the show's early days:

After hearing this, I'm just happy that the Arthur Fonzarelli actor is still around to tell the tale. For years, he effortlessly embodied the role of a rebellious leather jacket-wearing youth of the 1950s. The performance seemed incredibly effortless but, of course, acting and actually riding a motorcycle are two very different things. I can't even imagine how to do such a thing -- whether it be for a TV show or otherwise.

Based on Henry Winkler's recollection of events, his emotions quickly shifted from surprise to fear when he and the bike unexpectedly launched forward. The Happy Days alum further revealed exactly which crew member he nearly collided with:

Had any serious damage happened to the bike, it probably would've been incredibly pricey for the production. So I'm sure the producers were happy that it as fine. But more importantly, it's good that Henry Winkler himself made it out of that ordeal relatively unscathed. Honest (and cool) stories like these are one of the reasons why fans love Winkler so much and will likely appreciate his commitment to the role of Fonzie for years to come.

Today, we know Tom Hanks for his movies like Toy Story, Saving Private Ryan and Forrest Gump, among, many, many others. However, the movie that kicked off his career as a leading man was Splash. It turns out, he ended up doing that movie partially because of a small role he had on Happy Days where he got to kick Fonzie. And I gotta say, what a way to kick off a career! 

While talking with SiriusXM Hanks talked about the one episode of Happy Days he appeared in during his early acting days, much like other big actors like Robin Williams who appeared in an episode during the start of his acting career. Hanks is now talking about his experience working with Henry Winkler on the show, and explained he got to do something not many have: 

He then revealed that when Splash was in development they were looking for someone to play the lead, and the writers -- who had worked on Happy Days with Ron Howard and were involved with the Disney film -- thought of Hanks for the role because of his interaction with The Fonz. Hanks said: 

Hanks has also explained that he didn’t think he was auditioning for the lead of Splash at the time. However, now that the movie has been out for multiple decades it’s hard to imagine him as anything but Daryl Hannah’s love interest, clearly, Howard and co. had a similar thought.

Well, all those connections he made on Happy Days both in the ways of kicking and networking, paid off, because following his appearance on the classic sitcom in 1982 and Splash in 1984 he went on to star in massive movies like Big and Turner & Hooch, and those are just his movies from the 1980s. The early ‘90s brought us Philadelphia, Sleepless in Seattle and Forrest Gump, just to name a few. So, I think it’s safe to say we should all thank Happy Days, Henry Winkler for letting Hanks kick him, and Ron Howard for hiring him, because that was the springboard for Hanks to go on to have a legendary career, that is still thriving. 

Based on this story from Hanks, and the Splash reunion that happened in 2020, the actor is very aware of what got his career going, and looks back on the unique experience fondly. Now, his career is still going strong as he has a film on the 2023 movie schedule called A Man Called Otto currently playing in theaters, and more projects on the way, and it’s all partially because of him kicking Henry Winkler on Happy Days.

Henry Winkler has over 150 acting credits in his career, but regardless of what generation you’re from, he will always be The Fonz from Happy Days first and foremost. It’s not only his most iconic role, it’s one of the most iconic roles in the history of television, but it caused Winkler a number of problems in his career, including causing him to turn down the lead in Grease, the movie that made John Travolta a star.

In a recent appearance on CNN Henry Winkler reflected on his career. It turns out that following his run as Arthur Fozerelli, aka The Fonz, Winkler had serious trouble finding work because he was so closely associated with the character. Winkler explained… 

A look at Henry Winkler’s filmography shows just how bad it got for him, during the decade that Happy Days was on the air, and the years immediately after, he did very little else, and most of what he did do was appear as The Fonz on the various shows that spun off from Happy Days. The only role of any size he had outside was his co-starring role alongside a young Michael Keaton in Night Shift, a movie directed by Winkler’s Happy Days castmate Ron Howard. 

Fonzie had become such a force of nature they almost changed the name of
Happy Days to be about him. It's not a shock that people in Hollywood had trouble seeing him in another role. However, CNN interviewer Chris Wallace pointed out that there was another significant role that Winkler was offered, and turned down…

Grease came out in 1978, smack in the middle of Happy Days’ run on TV. It’s blindingly obvious to see why Henry Winkler would be offered the role of Danny Zuko. The leather jacket clad biker was such a similar role to the Fonz that it was obvious Winkler could play the part. And this is exactly why the actor turned it down.

Most actors hate to be typecast. One of the great things about acting is the ability to inhabit a variety of different  roles. Winkler didn’t want to play a role similar to Fonzie because he didn’t want to be typecast. Unfortunately, Winkler agrees that he was a damned fool for turning the role down, because he didn’t realize at the time that the typecasting ship had already sailed. Winkler said… 

Hollywood is full of “what if” stories that have come from actors turning down roles. Will Smith could have been in The Matrix. Mel Gibson was almost James Bond. In the end those careers turned out ok, and while Henry Winkler never became a massive movie star after Happy Days, he built a successful career both in front of the camera as well as behind it that he can certainly be proud of.  

Sitting down and writing a book tends to be the hardest part for many authors, but the art of publishing said book and promoting it isn't something many speak about. It can be difficult to connect with readers as authors travel from state to state and city to city to promote their books. Unfortunately, this can lead to a less-than-stellar reception from the reading public. While readers might think that only happens to lesser-known writers, even celebrated writers have experienced failed promotional appearances, as Stephen King, Neil Gaiman, Margaret Atwood and more shared funny promo stories.

The renowned authors were prompted to share their sad promo experiences after independent author Chelsea Banning took to her Twitter account to share a recent story about a promotional stop for her debut novel. The up-and-coming author revealed only two people showed up out of 37 whom RSVP’d to the event. Banning explained in the tweet below how the lack of support made her feel.

Banning’s feelings were completely valid after thinking she was going to meet her readers in person for the first time. Book promotions require a lot of time and money to pull off, so only having two followers show up was just disappointing for her. It’s already hard for lesser-known writers to put themselves out there, so the lack of support can be a major blow to them.

But Banning’s unpleasant signing story found its tribe as her tweet went viral. The story connected with some notable authors who spilled about their failed promo appearances. The King of Horror himself, Stephen King, was up first, as he hopped on his Twitte page to comfort the young author with a recount of his first signing for his classic novel Salem’s Lot.

Some customers mistake authors for bookstore help. Not to be outdone, The Sandman creator Neil Gaiman didn’t hold back talking about a New York signing experience with fellow author Terry Pratchett on his Twitter account.

Even someone as renowned as Gaiman can miss a time or two with readers. The Handmaiden’s Tale author Margaret Atwood had the same experience as the Coraline author as she spilled on her Twitter that she was mistaken for store help.

The theme of being mistaken for a store worker continued, as The School for Good and Evil creator Soman Chainani responded to Banning’s post with his lonesome book signing at a Costco.

There’s nothing more humbling than directing customers to toiletries and meat products. But it wasn’t just fellow authors who comforted the independent author, as legendary rap hype man Flavor Flav got on his Twitter to reply to her post with a promise for her next signing appearance.

If getting a shoutout from Flavor Flav wasn’t enough, Banning got another boost from another legend – beloved Barry star Henry Winkler. Winkler took to his Twitter account to lift her spirits as he replied to her story.

There’s nothing like an inspirational word from the Fonz to keep you going! He gave Banning the fatherly love viewers have seen from Winkler in his interviews.

Having the interaction between Banning and these notable figures can only help raise her profile and help her sell more books. All she had to do was look at these famous authors' careers to see where her future could go. In King's case, he has countless movies and TV projects based on his best-selling novels with a Salem’s Lot remake on the horizon.

Just like King, Gaiman has numerous films and TV adaptations, with the recent success of the Netflix series The Sandman proving his staying power as Season 2 has been confirmed. Atwood’s work followed the same path as the Emmy-winning The Handmaid’s Tale just aired its fifth season finale. Chainani got his just due as Netflix plans on adapting The School for Good and Evil series into a film franchise, with the first movie currently available for Netflix subscribers.  Abbott Elementary emerged as one of the biggest surprises of the 2021-2022 TV season. The show – which is produced by, written by, and stars Quinta Brunson – managed to strike a chord with audiences and earn itself a second season as a result. It also landed historic Emmy wins for Brunson and co-star Sheryl Lee Ralph, who gave an incredible speech. Of course, with new episodes on the way, there are a few things folks might be pondering, like what kind of guest stars might pop in. And if you ask me, there are a number of high-profile comedians, such as Anthony Anderson, who’d be perfect for guest spots. 

The school-centric workplace comedy, which has been compared to The Office, has already announced a few guest actors for Season 2. It was recently confirmed that Leslie Odom Jr., Lauren Weedman, and Keyla Monterroso Mejia are set to appear, though one can’t help but wonder who else could show up in the second season (and beyond, should the show continue). There are plenty are stars who would be a great fit for the sitcom, but it would be particularly fun to see a number of notable comedians lend their talents to the proceedings. So, let’s discuss the comedy vets who'd fit into the series:

Anthony Anderson

When it comes to comedy, Anthony Anderson has certainly been around the block, so to speak. He’s starred in notable comedies like Me, Myself & Irene and Barbershop as well as dramas like Hustle & Flow and The Departed. But, in recent years, he’s led the cast of ABC’s Black-ish, which capped off its eight-season run earlier this year. Anderson’s trying new things right now, after having returned for a season on the Law & Order revival. Surely he could pop onto Abbott for an episode. I’d personally love to see him play a high-ranking school exec who comes into conflict with the gang. 

Wanda Sykes 

It almost feels like there’s nothing Wanda Sykes hasn’t done at this point. The Emmy winner has a plethora of comedy films under her belt like Evan Almighty and Bad Moms. She’s also been a major fixture within the TV realm, having headlined her own sitcom, Wanda at Large, and having appeared on the likes of The New Adventures of Old Christine and The Good Fight. She also notably hosted the Oscars this year. At the moment, she’s also one of the stars of the Netflix family sitcom The Upshaws. She could certainly bring her comedic expertise to Abbott Elementary in any kind of role. 

Henry Winkler 

Honestly, what can you even say about Henry Winkler? The man has an illustrious career that spans nearly five decades and is marked with notable film and TV credits like The Mary Tyler Moore Show, Night Shift, The Waterboy and Parks and Recreation. And then, of course, there’s Happy Days, on which he played the iconic Arthur "Fonzie" Fonzarelli. These days, Winkler stars on the HBO black comedy Barry, for which he won an Emmy in 2018. In short, Abbott would be lucky to have the seasoned actor. And, with his natural enthusiasm, I’d peg him to play the school’s over-the-top performing arts teacher. 

David Alan Grier 

There are plenty of potential ways that Abbott Elementary could utilize someone like David Alan Grier. Many comedy aficionados are probably aware that he rose to prominence in the ‘90s as a cast member on Fox’s In Living Color. From there, he’s starred and appeared on notable shows like Martin, My Wife and Kids, Happy Endings, and The Carmichael Show. Grier, who’s also a veteran of the stage, definitely knows how to get a laugh and could do that very thing on the ABC sitcom in almost any role. It’d be great to see him play the brother of Sheryl Lee Ralph’s Barbara Howard or even an old friend of William Stanford Davis’ lovable janitor, Mr. Johnson. 

Randall Park 

It’s really hard not to like Randall Park. The comedy vet has been at it for years now and has become a fan favorite in both TV and film. Trainwreck, Always Be My Maybe, Ant-Man and the Wasp, and Aquaman are only a few of the movie credits under his belt. On the TV side, he was the lead of ABC's comedy, Fresh off the Boat, appeared on HBO’s Veep and returned to Marvel and joined the cast of Disney+’s WandaVision. And yes, he famously played Steve/Asian Jim on The Office. I’d love to see him on Quinta Brunson’s series – and in a role as humorous as the one he played on NBC’s mockumentary. 

Patton Oswalt 

If you’re looking for a funnyman with great comedic chops, look no further than Patton Oswalt. The veteran stand-up comedian has been a comedy staple for some time and has greatly endeared himself to audiences. There’s a good chance you’ve seen him on shows like The King of Queens, Parks and Recreation, Community, Two and a Half Men, and Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Oswalt has a sharp sense of humor and a sweet core that would make him perfect for Abbott Elementary. If he’s not cast as a substitute teacher at the school, then I don’t know what we’re even doing. 

Donald Glover 

So, this one may be a long shot, but Donald Glover would be a fantastic guest star. He’s been one of the hardest-working people in show business for the past decade, having made a name for himself through NBC’s Community before starring in high-profile films like The Martian, Spider-Man: Homecoming, Solo: A Star Wars Story, and The Lion King. The Emmy winner is also the creator of the acclaimed FX dramedy, Atlanta, which is ending after four seasons this year. A fan of Abbott, Glover would be perfect as a potential new boyfriend of Janine Teagues, or even a sibling of hers. 

Whoopi Goldberg 

Speaking of Janine’s family, you can’t tell me that Whoopi Goldberg wouldn’t be a strong pick to play her seemingly negligent mother. Most are pretty familiar with the EGOT’s work, which ranges from movies like Ghost, Sister Act, and The Color Purple to TV shows like Whoopi, Everybody Hates Chris, and Star Trek: The Next Generation. Of course, she’s also been a co-host on The View for the past 15 years. The stand-up comic’s sharp wit would be a great addition to the show – and quite a match for the dry humor of Lisa Ann Walter’s Melissa Schemmenti. 

Carol Burnett 

There’s only one Carol Burnett, and she’d be an amazing Abbott Elementary guest star. The comedy icon’s career is legendary and was launched into the stratosphere with the debut of her self-titled variety show in the late ‘60s. The six-time Emmy winner has also become quite famous for her guest appearances in numerous shows like Mad About You, Hawaii Five-0, and Better Call Saul, which earned her massive love from fans. Right now, some are even campaigning for her to host Saturday Night Live. The 89-year-old actress is showing no signs of slowing down, and Abbott would be a firm addition to her already-illustrious resume. 

Abbott Elementary has the potential to tell some great stories should it remain on TV for years to come, and one would hope that Quinta Brunson and her collaborators utilize these stars and more at some point. But, more immediately, check out new episodes of the comedy when they air on Wednesdays at 9 p.m. ET as part of the 2022 TV schedule. You can also stream episodes next day with a Hulu subscription. 

Henry Winkler is a national treasure. He has a reputation for being one of the nicest guys in Hollywood and has been charming television audiences since the '70s via Happy Days. He's now getting critical acclaim for his much more dramatic role in HBO’s Barry. Though everybody loves Winkler, some may love him more than others, as evidenced by his apparent DILF status. And Mario Lopez explained that concept to the actor on the Emmys red carpet.

This year, Henry Winkler was nominated for an Emmy for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series for his stellar work on Barry. Amid the ceremony, the beloved actor stopped to chat with Access Hollywood about the highly praised show and working with his fellow Emmy nominees, Bill Hader and Anthony Carrigan. The pundits for the news outlet shared a hilarious tweet with the Fonz icon, in which a fan called him an “underrated DILF.” The compliment was met with confusion from Winker, who said:

It was clear that the 76-year-old star had not heard the euphemism before, which is when Mario Lopez adorably stepped in and explained to the actor what a DILF was. Lopez told him that DILF stands for “Dad I’d Like to-” and let the veteran star figure out the rest for himself. He was shocked but very flattered and took the copy of the tweet from Lopez, putting it in his pocket before saying: 

This is such a hilarious exchange. It was so great to watch the Arrested Development alum play along and be tickled by such a compliment. He always seems to have such a blast at Hollywood events and his more candid moments rarely ever disappoint. The seasoned performer is also having a lot of fun working on Barry, which he always sings the praises of. While his turn as fractured acting coach Gene Cousineau is certainly a darker role for the comedic actor, he's played it to perfection. He definitely doesn’t want it to end anytime soon and has expressed fear in regard to the possibility of Gene getting killed because he doesn’t want his stint on the hit HBO show to end. 

Critics certainly agree with the strength of his work on the dramedy, as Henry Winkler received his first ever Primetime Emmy in 2018, much to the delight of fans and the actor himself. With Barry (one of Bill Hader’s best projects to date), Winkler has delivered what is easily some of his best work, and that's saying a lot. 

Like the veteran actor, I hope the show doesn't end anytime soon. Not only do I love seeing what dark turns the HBO show takes every season, but I love seeing Henry Winkler doing what he does best. While he may not have scored any 2022 Emmy wins, he can still revel in the fact that he now officially holds DILF status.

Comedy fans are mourning a fresh loss to the pantheon of iconic talents that rose to fame in the 1980s, as it was reported that former Family Feud host and Baskets star Louie Anderson died at the age of 68. In the wake of this somber news, celebrities like Howie Mandel, DL Hughley, and many more have paid tribute to the life, talent and generosity of this comedic legend. The results are as heartfelt as they are shocked about Anderson's relatively sudden passing.

After being hospitalized last week while being treated for blood cancer, the star of shows such as Baskets and Life with Louie passed on Friday in Las Vegas. CNN was one of many outlets that confirmed Louie Anderson’s death, through a statement from his publicist Glenn Schwartz. With the news making the rounds this morning, the tributes started to pour in. 

Sharing a connection with Louie Anderson as a fellow comedian and veteran of the Fox Kids Saturday morning lineup, America's Got Talent judge and Bobby's World creator Howie Mandel was naturally upset to hear the sad news. Reflecting on the recent losses of Norm MacDonald and Bob Saget, Mandel’s reaction was as follows: 

Known throughout the world of film and television, Louie Anderson quickly made a name for himself in the world of comedy after his 1984 debut on The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson. His star rose to the point that when Coming To America saw Eddie Murphy and Arsenio Hall had to select a white comedian to play a part in the film, Louie was their go-to choice for “the funniest white guy around.” This would lead him to reprise his role as Maurice, an employee at the fictional restaurant McDowell’s, in the sequel Coming 2 America, which was his final film effort.

Outside of his standup and film appearances, Anderson became prominent as one of the iconic hosts of Family Feud, on top of his animated series Life with Louie. It’s that wide span of appeal that helped launch him to stardom, as well as kept his memory so fondly in the eyes of his peers. Here’s how fellow comedian DL Hughley paid tribute to Louie Anderson’s memory: 

One of the best stories to come out of this tragic passing comes from writer/director Travon Free, who’s written for both Full Frontal with Samantha Bee and The Daily Show with Trevor Noah. The Academy Award winning director of 2021’s Best Live-Action Short Two Distant Strangers, Mr. Free shared a personal moment of generosity from Mr. Anderson from earlier in his career as his tribute:

That pattern of behavior was known among other comedians as well, one of which happens to be Happy Days legend and Barry co-star Henry Winkler. Further touting Louie Anderson as a truly good person, his contribution to honoring the man’s memory was bittersweet:

In recent years, Anderson’s career saw him making appearances on shows like Young Sheldon and Search Party, as well as becoming one of the few hosts of Family Feud to actually play the game himself. But one of the landmarks in the latter era of his career was the role of Christine, the mother to Zach Galifanakis’ protagonist on the FX dramedy Baskets. It was the role that saw him win the Primetime Emmy in 2016 for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series, as well as two more consecutive nominations. Reflecting on that part of his legacy, actor/comedian Michael McKean offered a fitting closer to our tribute to Louie Anderson: 

As a comedian, it helps if you can win a room with your wit like Louie Anderson could. It’s even more amazing if you’re able to do so while also being a person of exemplary character, which was also one of his lifelong achievements. Bill Hader’s hit HBO series Barry hasn’t aired since 2019, but Season 3 is coming. Season 2 left Barry in a tight spot, though only the audience knew how bad the situation was. Now, as Gene Cousineau potentially knows Barry’s big secret, actor Henry Winkler is paranoid that his character will be killed off. 

Henry Winkler spoke to Insider regarding production on Barry Season 3, which kicked off in August after COVID-related delays. Winkler specifically spoke about his experience on set and how he needed reassurance from Bill Hader with what’s happening with Gene in the upcoming season.

The actor’s fears are somewhat justified, as Gene Cousineau is seemingly aware Barry is responsible for the death of his police officer girlfriend, Janice Moss. Gene learned the information from Barry’s old hitman handler Fuches, who hoped in part to ruin Barry’s chances at a normal life so he’d return to contract killing with Fuches managing his jobs. Henry Winkler knows Janice died not long after she discovered Barry’s double life, which definitely explains his paranoia filming Season 3. 

Barry doesn’t have a release date for Season 3 yet, but the writing team has the series written up through Season 4. Henry Winkler knows Gene will be around in Season 4, but he still has some anxiety about how long he’ll be around despite that reassurance.

Henry Winkler must have a soft spot for Barry and his character Gene Cousineau, which isn’t hard to understand. After decades in Hollywood and five prior Emmy nominations, Winkler finally won his first Emmy ever for his work on the show. Winkler had nothing but kind things to say about Barry co-creators Bill Hader and Alec Berg during his acceptance speech, noting that if any talent got the opportunity to work with them in the future to “Run, don’t walk.” 

Barry’s Gene drama plays into the larger story of Season 3, in which we’ll see whether or not Barry is able to keep his two lives separate. Following all that transpired in Season 2, I’m not so sure, but if Gene is guaranteed to be alive and kicking in Season 4, who knows what the future holds? Gene is a weird guy, so I wouldn’t be the least bit surprised if he completely misinterpreted what Fuches told him and twisted it into some weird message that throws him in a completely different direction. We can only wait and see, and of course, continue to hope Henry Winkler remains calm throughout the filming process. 

Barry Season 3 is on its way to HBO, but we don’t have a release date just yet. I can’t wait for footage to see where all the characters are now and whatever hijinks NoHo Hank may have gotten into.

“Do you like scary movies?” If so, you’ve most likely seen the Scream franchise. The original Scream is amongst some of the best horror movies, and it’s been well over 2 decades since the creation of Woodsboro and the terror-inducing Ghostface. In anticipation of the upcoming Scream 5, we’re taking a look at the OG Scream cast, including the icons that are Courteney Cox, Neve Campbell, and Skeet Ulrich, and where they are now all these years later.

This article contains big spoilers from Scream, so if you still haven't seen the 1996 movie yet, we suggest reading no further and perhaps checking out our list of upcoming horror movies.

Neve Campbell (Sidney)

Portraying possibly one of horror’s most impossible heroines to kill, Neve Campbell played the part of Sidney Prescott in all four previous Scream films. She proved herself to be the ultimate final girl by defeating the ever-evolving Ghostface time and time again. The scream queen is still alive in the Scream universe and Campbell will be reprising her role as Sidney in the upcoming 5th film, simply titled Scream after the original that premiered over 25 years prior.

In addition to her final girl status that Scream has awarded her over the years, she has also cemented her place in ‘90s horror with her roles in the iconic Wild Things and The Craft. Currently, though, she has been cast in a leading role for the upcoming series The Lincoln Lawyer, which is expected to be released to Netflix for streaming sometime in 2022.

Courteney Cox (Gale Weathers)

For a franchise that’s all about following horror movie rules, they break a pretty big one by allowing two final girls who not only survive just the first film, but all four films together. Courteney Cox’s Gale Weathers is more of a final woman, though, as Cox brings her own full bodied strength of will to the character. The actress is another member of the original cast that will be reprising their roles in the upcoming 5th installment of the Scream franchise.

Filming Scream isn’t the only iconic reunion Courteney Cox has had recently, though, because she just appeared in and executive produced HBO Max’s Friends: The Reunion with the rest of her Friends co-stars a few months ago. Cox will be acting as both producer and star for the Netflix sports docuseries Last Chance U and will appear in the TV movie Shining Vale.

David Arquette (Dewey)

Despite being attacked in all 4 released Scream films, David Arquette’s Dewey Riley is yet another character who has survived the many versions of Ghostface. In addition to being another OG cast member returning to the Scream 5 cast, Arquette is actually pretty busy these days with a lot of projects on his plate. He has taken a pretty heavy list of titles in the role of producer, and has acted in a number of those projects. Interestingly enough, it seems as though the star gravitates toward producing documentaries.

In fact, David Arquette recently both starred in and produced a documentary about himself and his return to professional wrestling called You Cannot Kill David Arquette. The Next Step is another recent documentary with Arquette as executive producer. The star also has both an acting role and production credit for the upcoming Ghosts of the Ozarks and according to Deadline, has snagged a recurring role in the Amazon series Hot Pink.

Skeet Ulrich (Billy)

Ah, the horror movie heartthrob! Skeet Ulrich made a bit of a name for himself in the ‘90s as a high school hunk turned villain for his roles in Scream and The Craft (both of which he played alongside star Neve Campbell), and honestly these days he’s just as hunky. He currently appears in Riverdale as JP Jones, Jughead’s biker gang leader father. He also has a smaller part in the series Bronzeville and a number of films coming up.

Skeet Ulrich will appear alongside Tom Hanks in the post-apocalyptic world of Finch later this year. He also will play opposite Michelle Monaghan in Blood and has big parts in both upcoming films The Mystery of Casa Matusita and Supercell.

Matthew Lillard (Stu)

Matthew Lillard plays the second killer in Scream (“Surprise, Sidney!”), setting up the semi-tradition of having multiple killers behind the mask of Ghostface. It’d be pretty hard for him to return for Scream 5, even though he’d love to, but he does have quite a few ongoing projects keeping him busy. The live action Scooby Doo star has taken over the voice acting role of Shaggy since 2010 (minus the recent Scoob!) and is the second most common actor to take on the position, beaten only by the OG voice of Shaggy, Casey Kasem.

In addition to voicing Shaggy in the many versions of Scooby Doo, Matthew Lillard has a recurring role in the series Good Girls and a leading part in the announced film One Heart. Lillard also appears in the trailer for He’s All That, a reboot of the classic ‘90s film She’s All That, in which Lillard also appears.

Jamie Kennedy (Randy)

The horror movie expert and death predicting Randy Meeks was played by Jamie Kennedy in the OG Scream and returned in the 2nd, when his character was killed (or was he?). Being as knowledgeable about serial killers as he was, Randy made a video before his death that was played in the 3rd Scream, making Kennedy a major part of the first three Scream films. These days, though, Kennedy usually appears as himself in projects, mainly doing stand-up comedy and appearing on podcasts, although he does still act and appear in films.

He is combining his acting and comedy skills in a new film Don’t Suck where he plays a veteran comedian on the road with another, younger comic. He also had a major role in the film Roe Vs Wade, which released earlier this year.

Drew Barrymore (Casey)

Drew Barrymore created one of the most iconic opening horror movie scenes when she chatted on the phone with her killer about popcorn and scary movies in Scream. Although she died immediately and was only in the film for a few minutes, she broke the horror movie mold and will forever go down as one of the most recognizable and influential scream queens.

The popular actress isn’t acting so much anymore, however she is very much still in the limelight. Drew Barrymore has traded film sets for a talk show one, as she is the host of her own The Drew Barrymore Show, which is about to bring in a live audience for Season 2.

Rose McGowan (Tatum)

Rose McGowan appeared in Scream as Stu’s new girlfriend Tatum, who surprisingly held her own pretty well against Ghostface but eventually caught her demise thanks to a too-small doggy door. McGowan was a pretty iconic actress in the ‘90s and 2000’s, with roles in Jawbreaker, Planet Terror, and the series Charmed. She was also known off screen for her eccentric style, alongside her then-partner Marilyn Manson.

The actress has been the center of some controversy the last few years as she has spoken out about Hollywood injustices, namely Harvey Weinstein and later director Alexander Payne. Currently Rose McGowan is acting as star, producer, and director for two future films: Pomerania and Sleepwalk.

Liev Schreiber (Cotton Weary)

Playing the complicated and misunderstood character of Cotton Weary, Liev Schreiber did a great job in misleading viewers as to whether he was the killer or not in both Scream 2 and Scream 3 (until he was killed, of course) even though he was proven to be innocent of murder in the first film. Other than his role in The Omen, the Scream franchise was pretty much all of Schreiber’s horror stint and he went on to act in different genres.

These days Liev Schreiber is the titular character in the upcoming film Ray Donovan, which comes after his Showtime series of the same name that ran for seven seasons was cancelled in 2020. He is also in the upcoming Wes Anderson film The French Dispatch and is set to star in Across the River and Into the Trees.

Henry Winkler (Principal Arthur Himbry)

One big name you may have forgotten was in the original Scream was The Fonz himself, Henry Winkler. He played the principal of Woodsboro High and met his untimely death at the hands of Ghostface after-hours in the school. He may have gone uncredited, but he was definitely a noticeable character throughout the film.

Henry Winkler is still pretty active in Hollywood, doing both live action and voice acting. He has a few smaller parts in animated children’s shows but has a pretty big voice acting role in the upcoming Disney+ series Monsters At Work as Fritz. He also joins his Scream costar Liev Schreiber in Wes Anderson’s The French Dispatch this year.

If that cast list was not already epic enough, horror icons Linda Blair (who played Regan in the classic The Exorcist) and director Wes Craven also appeared briefly in the film. Blair’s cameo was so small you probably missed it - she played an annoying reporter that David Arquette’s Dewey quickly shoos away. Wes Craven, who famously cameoed in all his films, shows up as a janitor dressed as one of his other horror icons, Freddy Krueger.

Although we can only expect to see a few of these faces back in the rapidly approaching Scream 5, the cast of Scream 5 is looking pretty tight as well.

Bill Hader's Barry has been a big hit for HBO, and with over two years since Season 2, it's long overdue for a return to television. The dramedy is finally in production for Season 3, and Hader and co-star Henry Winkler look as excited as fans probably feel at the coming return of the series.

HBO announced that Barry is in production for Season 3 on social media and celebrated the event with a picture of Bill Hader and Henry Winkler (who won his first Emmy on the series) smiling ear to ear. Those are certainly not the types of smiles you'd see on Barry and Gene in the show, so get a good look and continue on for more on the upcoming episodes.

Bill Hader and Henry Winkler are cheesing it up in this picture, but one has to think there will be no smiles shared between Barry Berkman and Gene Cousineau in Barry Season 3. Season 2's finale featured Gene's arrest after he was wrongfully accused of killing his girlfriend and detective Janice Moss. Barry was actually responsible for killing Moss, something we learned Gene was made aware of thanks to Barry's old handler from his hitman profession, Fuches.

The final moments of Barry Season 2 featured Gene's realization that Barry Berkman was indeed responsible for the murder, which will no doubt play a massive role in Season 3. Barry will presumably struggle to justify the fact that he had to kill Janice after she correctly pegged him as the killer the LAPD had been looking for. Barry, hoping to put his life of killing behind him, thought that if he just disposed of Janice, he could resume his newfound passion and career in acting.

Obviously, things haven't worked out that way. Things going wrong in Barry's attempt to leave contract killing behind has been unavoidable, and his secret life keeps being exposed to people he attempts to get close to. One can imagine his amateur theater career is over if Gene has anything to say about it, though viewers didn't really get a read on what Gene planned to do after his discovery.

Barry didn't win six Emmys for being a series that serves up predictable twists and endings, which makes it impossible to guess with any degree of certainty what could happen in Season 3. One thing that does seem likely is that Barry will look to keep Fuches from meddling in his life by any means necessary, though at this point, it's hard to say whether the damage Fuches did to his new life is unfixable. Hey, if nothing else, at least Barry still has a friend in NoHo Hank, right?

Barry Season 3 doesn't currently have a release date but will arrive on HBO when it is ready. Speaking of HBO, there's been a lot of fallout following HBO Max's streaming deal for Warner Bros. pictures, but there could be even more following this latest deal the studio inked for 2022.

Monstropolis is back! Monsters at Work, the highly anticipated sequel to Monsters, Inc. has hit Disney+ with a bunch of our old favorites, as well as some new monster faces! While sadly this world doesn't include Boo from the original movie, longtime BFFs Mike Wazowski and Sully are, of course, back, voiced as always by Billy Crystal and John Goodman, respectively. The series also introduces us to Tylor Tuskmon, voiced by Ben Feldman, a new employee at Monsters, Inc. Old or new, the entire Monsters at Work voice cast boast impressive resumes, which isn't surprising for a Pixar project.

While Monsters University served as a prequel to the beloved (by most) 2001 movie, Monsters at Work is a true sequel, with the Monsters, Inc. company making a huge switch from scaring to laughing. Recent Monsters U graduate Tylor Tuskmon was at the top of his class as a Scarer and is shocked by the company's new direction when he shows up for his first day of work. Tylor had dreamed of working with his idol, Sulley, but instead he's assigned to be a mechanic with MIFT, the Monsters, Inc. Facilities Team. So who's new and who's back in the world of Monsters Inc.? Let's take a look at the voices behind the monsters of Monsters at Work.

Ben Feldman (Tylor Tuskmon)

Leading the cast of new characters in Monsters at Work is Ben Feldman as recent Scare major Tylor Tuskmon, who arrives at Monsters, Inc. just as the company shifts from scaring to laughing. Feldman is fresh off a longtime gig as Jonah Simms on Superstore and is also known for his recurring roles on AMC's Mad Men, Drop Dead Diva and Silicon Valley. He was also the voice of Chris and others on Big Hero 6: The Series.

Mindy Kaling (Val Little)

Val Little is Tylor's best friend, voiced by the beloved Mindy Kaling. Kaling came into fame as Kelly Kapoor on The Office and has since starred in her own TV series, The Mindy Project, co-created Netflix's quirky teen drama Never Have I Ever and is writing the script for Legally Blonde 3. Her voice roles include Disgust in Inside Out and Taffyta Muttonfudge in Wreck-It Ralph.

Billy Crystal (Mike Wazowski)

Billy Crystal returns as Monster, Inc. star Mike Wazowski, who finds himself in a new position of power in Monsters at Work. Crystal is Hollywood royalty, not only starring in iconic roles like Mitch in City Slickers, NBA referee Mickey in Forget Paris and the lead in When Harry Met Sally with Meg Ryan, but also honoring his peers as a nine-time Academy Awards host.

John Goodman (Sulley)

The Scarer that started it all, Sulley, is back for Monsters at Work, voiced as always by John Goodman. Goodman is known on the screen for his iconic role as Dan Conner on Roseanne and The Conners. He took over the presidency as a guest star on The West Wing, but he did not roll on Shabbos as Walter in The Big Lebowski. Goodman has done quite a bit of voice work as well, including films like The Emperor's New Groove, The Jungle Book 2, Bee Movie and The Princess and the Frog.

Henry Winkler (Fritz)

Henry Winkler plays Fritz, Tylor's boss. Winkler, classically known as The Fonz from Happy Days, has lent his voice as Mall Santa on an episode of Bob's Burgers, as well as on shows like DuckTales, Bubble Guppies and Bojack Horseman. Outside of the animated world, Winkler is known for his award-winning portrayal of Gene Cousineau in Barry and as the hilariously inept family lawyer Barry Zuckerkorn on Arrested Development.

Lucas Neff (Duncan)

Lucas Neff, likely best known as Jimmy Chance from Raising Hope, will provide the voice for the four-eyed monster Duncan, assistant supervisor at MIFT. He also starred as Caleb on the CBS sitcom Carol's Second Act and as David Poland in the Lifetime series American Princess. As for voice acting, you may recognize Neff as Noodle Burger Boy from Big Hero 6: The Series.

Alanna Ubach (Cutter)

The crab-like monster Cutter is a MIFT mechanic voiced by Alanna Ubach. You might know Ubach best as Serena in Legally Blonde, or Jo from Girlfriend's Guide to Divorce, but along with her work in movies like The Brady Bunch Movie, Sister Act 2: Back in the Habit and Waiting, Ubach has been lending her voice to roles for a long time. From Puppy Dog Pals and El Tigre: The Adventures of Manny Rivera, to Academy Award-winning films like Rango and Coco.

Bonnie Hunt (Ms. Flint)

Bonnie Hunt is back as Ms. Flint, who is now in charge of training Jokesters, as Monsters, Inc. changes its tone from scary to funny. Hunt is known for movies including Jerry Maguire, Beethoven and Jumanji opposite Robin Williams, to name a few, but is also a long-time member of the Pixar world, voicing Sally and Dolly in the Cars and Toy Story franchises, respectively, as well as Rosie in A Bug's Life and Bonnie Hopps in Zootopia.

Jennifer Tilly (Celia)

Some of her resume isn't super family friendly, like the Child's Play franchise and Jim Carrey's Liar, Liar, but that's okay with us, as Jennifer Tilly is a mainstay in the Monsters, Inc. universe as Mike's devoted girlfriend Celia, who is the new Laugh Floor Supervisor. Tilly's distinctive voice can also be found on Family Guy, where she plays Bonnie Swanson, and on guest spots in Hey Arnold! and The Simpsons.

Bob Peterson (Roze/Roz)

Bob Peterson, who voices the grumpy slug-like twins Roze and Roz in Monsters at Work, has worked at Pixar since 1994. From making us cry as co-director of Up (as well as the voice of Dug), to co-writing Finding Nemo and Cars 3 to being an animator on Toy Story, Peterson has done it all and also usually provides additional voices to the projects.

Aisha Tyler (Millie Tuskmon)

As Monsters at Work introduces our new hero Tylor Tuskmon, we also get his mother, Millie, voiced by Aisha Tyler. Tyler's voice acting is iconic in the adult animation world for her role as Lana Kane on Archer, as well as Sextina Aquafina on Bojack Horseman. Outside of animation, she is currently the host of Whose Line Is It Anyway? and is also known for her roles as Tara Lewis on Criminal Minds and Charlie on Friends.

Stephen Stanton (Needleman and Smitty)

Two returning characters who will see a new voice are Needleman and Smitty. Stephen Stanton is inheriting the voice roles of the custodial duo from Daniel Gerson, who died in 2016. Stanton can also currently be found voicing Admiral Tarkin on Star Wars: The Bad Batch. The prominent voice actor has also been multiple characters in Scooby-Doo and Guess Who?, Sleepy in Disney's Snow White-inspired series The 7D, and Fred Dukes and Blob in Wolverine and the X-Men. He's done voice work for Archer, It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia and Parks and Recreation.

Alfred Molina (Professor Knight)

Alfred Molina is back as Professor Knight, the Scaring professor from the Monsters, Inc. prequel, Monsters University. A renowned actor in the theater as well as film and television, Molina's resume includes movies such as Rango, Ralph Breaks the Internet and Frozen II. He'll reprise the character of Doctor Octopus in the upcoming film Spider-Man: No Way Home. His TV voice credits include Gravity Falls, Infinity Train, Harley Quinn, Solar Opposites, Rick and Morty... The list goes on and on.

Curtis Armstrong (Mr. Crummyham)

Mr. Crummyham is voiced by Curtis Armstrong, well-known as Booger from the Revenge of the Nerds movies. He's more recently been seen as Megatron on Supernatural and heard as Ezekiel the Cockroach on Doom Patrol. Armstrong's voice work also includes a recurring role on American Dad! and guest spots on The Loud House and Tangled: The Series.

John Ratzenberger (Yeti)

The intimidating but friendly Yeti from Monsters, Inc. returns, voiced by the most famous voice at Pixar. John Ratzenberger's claim to fame used to be Cliff from Cheers, but for this generation, Ratzenberger is Hamm from Toy Story, Underminer in The Incredibles, Juan Ortodoncia in Coco, Mack from Cars, Mustafa in Ratatouille, P.T. Flea in A Bug's Life, and just so many more, including a special cameo in Soul.

Gabriel Iglesias (Gary)

Comedian Gabriel "Fluffy" Iglesias is back as Mike Wazowski's nemesis Gary. Iglesias was a contestant on Last Comic Standing, and now has his own Netflix comedy Mr. Iglesias. He is known for numerous voice roles including on UglyDolls, Coco and The Nut Job. The Magic Mike actor also will be featured in the upcoming Space Jam: A New Legacy.

With such high-quality voice actors, who include some of film and televisions true legends, it's so exciting to have more stories coming out of Monstropolis. It's been eight years since Monsters University, so fans are definitely ready for more. And who knows? The characters are so beloved that more series and sequels are always a possibility! Sometimes when celebrities meet other celebrities, the stories that come out of those meetings are priceless. And the time that sitcom royalty/Barry star Henry Winkler met Hamilton’s creator and star Lin-Manuel Miranda is one of those tales that’s as sweet and funny as you’d think. During a recent interview, the subject of the phenomenal Disney+ debut of the Broadway smash took center stage, which lead to Winkler telling the following story about his fateful meeting:

While Henry Winkler’s appearance on the Media Path Podcast was mostly centered around his pretty stacked resume of performances, there was a break in the action to talk about how Hamilton has not only earned its title as “An American Musical,” but also as a pop culture juggernaut. That’s a conversation that can happen pretty much anywhere, and has been happening among all of the other discussions reacting to the Disney+ debut of the musical during our current state of affairs.

However, what makes this particular story involving the fanning-out pertaining to Hamilton is the fact that it comes from Henry Winkler. The man has been a classic purveyor of cool and comedy throughout decades in shows like Happy Days and Children’s Hospital, plus films like Night Shift and Click. But much like the rest of us, the stunning technique, the beautiful story and absolutely hit-making soundtrack of Lin-Manuel Miranda’s blockbuster musical has left The Fonz quite satisfied.

As impressed as he was with the show, Henry Winkler’s appearance on Media Path also highlighted another amazing fact that Hamilton has inspired the world to ponder. Talking up the show, Winkler mentioned how more people will see Hamilton through streaming than at the theater. So not only is the content of the show a top tier investment, but now that it’s available to all with a Disney+ subscription, more people will be impressed beyond all recognition once they get to see it for themselves.

It’s a moment of game recognizing game, and knowing how much of a fan Miranda is of pop culture, you have to think that he was equally as excited to hear from Henry Winkler that Hamilton left such an impact on him post-viewing. For fans of both Lin-Manuel Miranda and Henry Winkler, it’s a moment that validates the careers of both men, as one created an impressive musical of American history, and the other couldn’t help but be blown away. You too can join in on the fun, as Hamilton is now available on Disney+ for streaming. Though there is a good chance you probably already know that.

Tom Hanks and Henry Winkler are among the most friendly actors in Hollywood. But you’ll never guess what else they have in common. Apparently the two talents have had an over 30-year beef! And not only that, it all was born on the set of one of Disney’s dog movies, Turner & Hooch. Winkler parted ways with the production after just two weeks on set.

During the recent Golden Globes telecast, Tom Hanks stole away hearts when he accepted the honor of the Cecil B. DeMille Award. An incredible montage showcasing the Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood stars’ career rolled for the audience – including a throwback to Turner & Hooch. The camera cleverly flashed to Henry Winkler during Hanks’ speech. He doesn’t look too pleased, does he?

Henry Winkler was in attendance for his sixth Golden Globe nomination – this time for HBO’s Barry, where he plays an acting coach to Bill Hader’s titular hitman, who aspires to be a performer. Winkler did not take home an award that night, as his category was instead won by Stellan Skarsgard for Chernobyl. Barry's other two nominations also went to other shows.

The point is – maybe Henry Winkler was just in a bad mood that night! Then again, here’s what he said on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen last year when a fan called in to ask for the real reason Winkler and Tom Hanks didn't get along on the set of Turner & Hooch:

Yikes! In the interview, Henry Winkler at first pretended he didn’t hear the question, and Andy Cohen was shocked at the mere suggestion of a beef between the stars. Plus, Winkler didn't even mention Tom Hanks, just the fact that his time on set was nothing like Happy Days. He tried to end on a positive note by mentioning the star dog of the film (named Beasley), but what about America’s Sweetheart? Back in 1993, here’s what he told People:

Whoa! If Tom Hanks and Henry Winkler can’t get along… what’s left? Sure, Turner & Hooch was taken over by director Roger Spottiswoode and became one of the highest-grossing movies of 1989 but Winkler still had quite the career! He recently earned his first Emmy in over 40 years for his highly-acclaimed work on Barry.

Turner & Hooch is reportedly being rebooted for television by Disney+ from the creator of Burn Notice. And Tom Hanks is shaping up to have another impressive year in movies with WWII drama Greyhound, sci-fi film BIOS, and western News of the World coming in 2020!

Henry Winkler has been in acting a long time, and in all those decades he's been a household name, only a few accolades have escaped his grasp. That changed during the 70th Emmy Awards when the former Happy Days standout took the stage to accept his first Primetime Emmy ever. After 42 years of waiting, Winkler took home the Emmy for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series for his portrayal as Gene Cousineau in the acclaimed HBO dramedy Barry.

The Emmy win was very emotional for Henry Winkler, who mentioned in his brief speech that he'd been waiting for this day for a very long time. And you can watch him continuing to enjoy himself in the Thank You Cam footage below.

Winkler's first Emmy nomination came in 1976, where he received the nod for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series for his jukebox-smacking portrayal of Arthur Fonzarelli. Winkler would get nominated for his work on Happy Days again in the next two years, but would ultimately miss out on the award. Winkler got considered again in 1979 for Outstanding Informational Program for his work on Who Are the DeBolts? [And Where Did They Get 19 Kids?], but would miss the mark yet again just ahead of a long gap between nominations.

Henry Winkler remained active in Hollywood from the late 70s on, but it wasn't until 2000 he found himself in the running yet again, this time nominated for Outstanding Guest Actor in a Comedy Series for a role in _Battery Park. _But his nomination was revoked by the Academy prior to the awards telecast. Apparently, Winkler's appearance happened after the Academy's cutoff date, which meant he couldn't be on the ballot. Winkler wouldn't get another shot at an Emmy until 2018, and as we saw, the rest was history.

Henry Winkler mentioned during his speech that those who stay at it long enough have the chips come to them. Not long after winning the award, Winkler snapped a picture with another big actor from those good ol' Happy Days, Ron Howard, who would probably agree with his former co-star's statement.

Henry Winkler won the first Emmy of the night for HBO, and the first for Barry. Winkler plays actor-turned-acting coach Gene Cousineau, who becomes a mentor to aspiring actors like assassin-turned-actor, Barry. Winkler wasn't the only Barry star to win something tonight, as series lead Bill Hader won the Emmy for Outstanding Actor in A Comedy Series. The news is, of course, a good look towards the series future on the network, although it was already renewed for Season 2 long before it started raking in the awards.

TV's current era of revivals, reboots and continuations is going strong, but Netflix's Arrested Development has for years been a slight exception to tradition, since it hasn't had the ability to return for yearly seasons as most network series do. It's been nearly five years since the Bluth family last gave fans awkward moments to laugh at, but TV legend Henry Winkler has revealed the most specific time window yet for when the long-awaited Season 5 will finally arrive on Netflix. In his words:

If Henry Winkler is to be believed, then we might all be fully versed in Arrested Development's fifth season by the time broadcast TV's fall shows are kicking off. (Which should be exciting for everyone, since Jason Bateman has totally gone on record calling this the best season yet.) But let's not forget that Winkler's Arrested Development character is the completely misinformed and unreliable attorney Barry Zuckercorn, so if this Season 5 information ends up not panning out, we'll go ahead and blame the Bluth's legal counsel for our dashed expectations.

To present that thought more seriously, Henry Winkler's claim to Decider is certainly worth celebrating, in that it's a more locked-down release window than the lack of info that Netflix has put forth. But because Winkler is neither a Netflix executive nor one of Arrested Development's primary stars, his words have to be taken with a grain of salt. Netflix famously keeps its release dates under wraps, especially for bigger projects like this. But perhaps Winkler's vague "midsummer" announcement didn't push anyone's buttons.

Now, did Henry Winkler talk about any of the plotlines that we can expect to see in Season 5? Nope, not a bit. We've heard in the past that it will be a murder-mystery whodunnit storyline involving the death of Liza Minelli's Lucille 2. And that some of the characters' past iterations could possibly be showing up more, which would have allowed for easier production shoots. But the most important part is that the central cast was able to film more scenes as a group this go-around, which was something that Season 4 lacked enough of. Something that every shows lacks enough of, really.

Fans of the Russo brothers work on Arrested Development may have noticed a particular easter egg within Hollywood's current mega-blockbuster Avengers: Infinity War. We shouldn't expect to see those universes colliding in any other meaningful ways, though. But if Spider-Man showed up in Season 5, I don't think anyone would gripe.

While we still can't yet guarantee that Arrested Development Season 5 will debut on Netflix in late July or early August, we're certainly hoping for that to be the case, unless of course the streaming giant decided to put it out even earlier. This summer saw the premiere of plenty of new shows and not all of them get to survive to see another summer. Though it hardly breaks the mold, NBC's fish out of water reality series Better Late Than Never is getting to come back for Season 2. Starring the likes of William Shatner and Henry Winkler, everyone's favorite ragtag group of older gentleman and one young comedian (for some reason) will be traveling to a new foreign country next summer.

NBC has revealed that it will be renewing Better Late Than Never for a second season. The reality travel show follows actors William Shatner (Star Trek) and Henry Winkler (Happy Days), former NFL star Terry Bradshaw, boxer and businessman George Foreman (all your dad's favorite people!) and comedian Jeff Dye as they travel through a foreign country for the first time, taking part in the cultural traditions, communicating with the locals, and eating exotic food. In Season One the group's destination was Asia, resulting in a journey that saw them through Tokyo and Kyoto, Japan; Seoul, South Korea; Hong Kong; and Phuket and Chiang Mai, Thailand. No new destination has been announced just yet for Season 2 and Winkler, Shatner, Bradshaw, Foreman, and Dye are all set to return.

Better Late Than Never was the number one new series introduced by broadcast networks this summer. In its four-episode season, Better Late Than Never averaged a 1.8 Nielsen rating in adults 18-49 and 8.1 million viewers overall. The reality show ruled its Tuesday night timeslot of 10 PM, going undefeated in adults 18-49 against its competition on ABC and CBS.

Is Better Late Than Never better than most other travel shows? No. But it has a cast of really likable people with wildly different personalities. It's fun to see these guys hanging out and doing stuff, and even though it's pretty fluffy, sometimes that's really all you need to enjoy a show.

Few musicals have stood the test of time like Grease. The 1970s film about high school kids in the 1950s has made numerous songs standards today, and turned TV’s John Travolta into a bona fide movie star. But as with most movies, the transition to screen was a long one, and the movie could have looked quite a bit different than it eventually did. Travolta would have never had the chance to shine if Henry ‘The Fonz’ Winkler had wanted the role.

In a major piece inVanity Fair about the films transition from stage to screen, it’s revealed that a number of different actors were considered for key roles. It turns out that Paramount, the studio producing the film, wanted Henry Winkler to star as Danny rather than John Travolta. Winkler was something of an obvious choice, as he was already the star of Happy Days playing a very similar 1950s greaser character. Of course, the reason he would have worked turned out to be the reason that he turned the role down. Winkler didn’t want to be typecast. Probably a good move, as there’s only a limited number of 1950s teenagers to play.

Henry Winkler wasn’t the only significant change that could have happened. Although he may have been the most obvious. Elvis Presley was rumored at one point to be in the running for the role of Teen Angel. Ultimately, the role went to another 1950’s film star, Frankie Avalon. Elvis would eventually pass away during filming, which wouldn’t have necessarily caused filming problems as the Teen Angel role is not very large, but it would have made for a fairly odd, and possibly chilling, last role for the aged rocker.

Grease has become such an iconic film, (the greatest musical of the 20th century, according to Vanity Fair) that it’s difficult to even conceive of anybody else playing the key roles. Seeing the Fonz in place of John Travolta is an easy enough substitution to make visually, but Danny is a significantly different character, so seeing Winkler playing a guy who looked the same, but was actually very different would have been weird for audiences at the time. Also, could he sing?

Somehow, the film seemed to make all the right choices as the movie is viewed today as a classic. One way or another, there will be new actors playing those roles, as Fox is planning a new production of the musical this year. In the five years that it has been on the air, Bob’s Burgers has featured a number of very awesome guest stars – from Jon Hamm, to Zach Galifianakis, to Patton Oswalt – and the next season will be no different. In fact, the show has some truly fantastic names lined up for Season 6, and many of them were just announced at San Diego Comic-Con this afternoon.

This afternoon, the likes of show creator Loren Bouchard, H. Jon Benjamin (Bob), Jon Waters (Linda), Dan Mintz (Tina), Kristen Schaal (Louise), Eugene Merman (Gene), Larry Muphy (Teddy), and developer/producer Jim Dautrieve all joined together on a Bob’s Burgers panel at San Diego Comic-Con, and it was while answering fan questions that the group announced some amazing guest voices who will be featured in upcoming episodes of the show. So who are these fantastic people? Read on to find out!

Though he was actually the last name to be revealed, Paul Rudd was arguably the most exciting name revealed during the panel – partially because his character was the only one that was identified with a bit of context. According to Loren Bouchard, an upcoming episode will feature Tina getting the chance to ride a horse for the first time, and the revelation that she has an imaginary horse friend in her name Jericho. It’s this imaginary horse friend who will be voiced by Rudd.

Henry Winkler is certainly no stranger to television, thanks to a resume that is highlighted with titles like Happy Days, Arrested Development, and Children’s Hospital, but he will expand his tenure on the small screen by voicing a character on the sixth season of Bob’s Burgers. We don’t know what role he will be playing just yet, but the good news is that he’s voice is so identifiable that we should be able to figure out who he is the second his character opens his mouth.

When it comes to voice-over roles, Steve Buscemi is no novice either, having had notable roles in movies like Monsters Inc. and Monster House, and he will have the chance to lend his pipes to another character when he plays a character on Bob’s Burgers. Again, we don’t know exactly who he will be playing, or when he will be showing up during the season, but we anticipate that we will be able to recognize him immediately.

We haven’t heard Wanda Sykes doing a voice-over role since playing a school therapist on a 2013 episode of The Simpsons, but later this year she will be jumping over to a different animated series on Fox. Given that she is exactly the kind of actor that Bob’s Burgers loves to feature, it’s surprising that her cameo this season will only be her first time on the show, but we hope that she winds up being a welcome addition for her episode, and possibly a regular.

This one is a bit more iffy, as it was hard to make out over the sound of the crowd applauding the list of names being announced, but unless I’m mistaken, we can expect at least three members of the series Flight of the Conchords to appear on this season of Bob’s Burgers - specifically the great Jermaine Clement, Bret McKenzie, and Rhys Darby. It would make sense that they appear on the show, if not only because both Kristen Schall and Eugene Merman had regular roles on their shortlived HBO series, not to mention the fact that their musical stylings match up perfectly with the animated show.

These are the big new names that were mentioned during the Bob’s Burgers San Diego Comic-Con panel, but they surely won’t be the only actors who pop up in the upcoming Season 6. So stay tuned, and listen closely!

I’ll be the first to admit that I don’t always understand what’s happening in the world of reality television, both for the things that are already on the air and the things that make it to the development stage. And I’m absolutely stumped by NBC’s new series Better Late Than Never, which will be an adventure-ish comedy series starring the unique quintet of William Shatner, Henry Winkler, Terry Bradshaw, George Foreman and Jeff Dye. It’s like The Surreal Life with an age handicap.

Better Late Than Never is a quasi-adaptation of the South Korean series Grandpas Over Flowers, in that it follows the travels of several entertainment veterans as they make their way through the cities of Tokyo, Kyoto, Seoul, Hong Kong, Bangkok and Chang Mai. However, this won’t just be a vacation of a lifetime for the men, as they’ll be navigating the cities on their own without the help of their mangers and agents along the way. So they’ll have to figure out how to communicate with everyone and ascertain where the best food is and what local traditions are that they should get into. (They’re just like us!)

Each of the celebs has a “bucket list” of things they want to do, and they’ll have to rely on each other for the entire trip through all the inevitable twists and turns, promoting cooperation and encouragement. In the end, they’re apparently trying to “demonstrate that friendship is the ultimate gift.” Now let’s get a refresher course on each of these celebs.

Best known as the too cool for school The Fonz from Happy Days, the Golden Globe-winning Henry Winkler had a second life in acting thanks to shows like Arrested Development, Childrens Hospital, Royal Pains and Parks and Recreation. He was most recently seen in Larry Gaye: Renegade Male Flight Attendant, but we might not want to talk too much about that.

One of the most successful NFL players of all time, Terry Bradshaw led the Pittsburgh Steelers to four Super Bowl victories during his long tenure at quarterback. He’s appeared in such TV shows as The League and Malcolm in the Middle, and he’s currently one of the analysts on Fox NFL Sunday.

One of the greatest boxers of any generation, George Foreman had a professional career that lasted over 25 years. Before he even retired, he had a shortlived sitcom called George and launched a business enterprise selling the fat-reducing George Foreman Grill.

Perhaps the oddest addition to this group, Jeff Dye is a stand-up comedian and one-time Last Comic Standing contestant whose career has been mostly in front of the camera as a host or contributor of such shows as Money From Strangers, Numbnuts and Girl Code.

Better Late Than Never is set to go into production in August, and will probably air on NBC in the midseason.

Good news, friends and residents of Pawnee, Indiana: Parks and Recreation returns to NBC this Thursday. And with that comes a bevy of reasons to celebrate and get excited for the second half of one of the most charming and hilarious comedies on television. Not only because it’s the 100th episode of the series — a major milestone for any show: hello, syndication rights — but because we’ve been promised more Henry Winkler and Ben Schwartz as the men of House Saperstein. Oh, and there’s also a video of cast reflections on the series thus far. We’re chockablock with Parks, and it feels so good.

Jean-Ralphio (Schwartz) posted the clip of himself and his TV dad on Twitter early on Tuesday, and it gave us both insight into how father and son spend their days (watching cartoons wearing matching pajamas, natch) and an exciting plot development: the sex of soon-to-be-departing Ann Perkins (Rashida Jones) and Chris Traeger’s (Rob Lowe) baby. Sorta.

Because as it turns out, seems that Dr. Saperstein has what we call chicken scratch for handwriting, making his documentation of the baby’s gender completely and utterly useless.

Should you be more in the mood for nostalgia, though, the cast also recently sat down to talk about their favorite moments from the series’ 100-episode history. It’s a nice way to look back, especially considering the new direction the series is bound to take following the results of “Recall Vote.” In a new video released by BuzzFeed on Tuesday, everyone was on hand to giggle and dance (thank you, Perd Hapley, for everything forever) their way through the memories of storylines gone by.

"I have so many favorite moments in the last 100 episodes. I'm a sucker for all group scenes obviously," Poehler said in the video. Her particular moment of joy came from the episode that found the cast on thin ice — literally — at the ice skating rink while her character Leslie Knope was running for City Council. "We were exaggerating slipping a little bit, but Chris Pratt actually really did slip and hurt himself because he refused to listen to everybody's safety advice. But us trying to get on the podium we shot for hours and laughed every time really, really hard. That was super fun."

If you’re a fan of the series you’ll be hard-pressed to not find a favorite moment of your own that made the cast’s list — yes, treat yo’self is obviously involved. From Aubrey Plaza’s refusal to do the interview outside of a tree, to the epic drunk dancing from the days of the Snakehole Lounge, the 19-minute clip is guaranteed to have you amped up for Thursday night.

Parks and Recreation returns with its 100th episode on Thursday, January 9, at 8:30PM on NBC.

Parks and Recreation has a tendency to enlist some pretty fantastic guest stars, and this latest bit of casting news is no exception there. The Fonz will be headed to Pawnee next season as Happy Days star Henry Winkler has signed on to play Jean-Ralphio's father in the NBC comedy series. Some may be better familiar with Winkler for his roles as Barry Zuckerkorn in Arrested Development and Sy Mittleman in Childrens Hospital. Regardless of what you know him from, if you're familiar with Winkler at all, you know he's funny. So this is most definitely good news for Parks and Rec.

Last year, we met Jean-Ralphio's twin sister, Mona-Lisa, played by Jenny Slate, and according to The Hollywood Reporter, the upcoming sixth season will introduce us to their father. Winkler will appear in the Season 6 premiere and he could return for future episodes of the series, much in the way Mona-Lisa has. Will Winkler's character be the block off the old chip that his cocky son is? Or should we expect a completely different personality from this character? We can only guess right now, and there are about two months to wait until the comedy returns.

THR notes that Ben Schwartz - who plays Jean-Ralphio in Parks and Rec - will be joined by his House of Lies co-star Kristen Bell, who's also connected to the cast through her appearances on Party Down with Adam Scott. Winkler has his own connections to the cast through Arrested Development, which featured guest appearances by Amy Poehler. Arrested Development's Will Arnett has also appeared on Parks and Recreation. And then there's Nick Offerman, who plays Ron Swanson in the series and shares a Childrens Hospital credit with Winkler. The Adult Swim comedy also ties Megan Mullally into the circuit, as she's recurred as Tammy Two on Parks and Rec and is also among the Childrens Hospital cast. There are probably other ways to Kevin Bacon Winkler to this show. I guess when it comes down to it, funny people tend to run in crowds. And sooner or later, some of them end up in Pawnee, Henry Winkler included. We'll see Winkler in the series when Parks and Recreation returns for Season 6 on Thursday, September 26.

We can hope against hope that Henry Winkler will be playing Barry Zuckerkorn when the Arrested Development movie finally, finally starts shooting. But hey, the Fonz can't just sit around forever and wait for Mitch Hurwitz to get his act together, so he's jetting off to Canada to star in Running Mates, a comedy directed by Thomas Michael.

DJ Qualls, who was the one thing I didn't absolutely loathe about All About Steve, has also signed on, according to THR. Winkler will play the incumbent mayor in a town where two childhood best friends (Archie Fenton and Paolo Mancini) are running against each other for the spot, while Qualls plays a local kid with the unfortunate nickname "One Ball." Filming is currently happening in Ontario.
