Kevin Federline’s recently released memoir, You Thought You Knew, has continued to make news. The DJ, who was, of course, married to Britney Spears from 2004 through 2007 and shares sons Sean Preston (20) and Jayden James (19) with the singer said he penned the book simply to tell his side of the story, but has gotten flak from the pop star and her reps over “profiting off her,” along with rapper Nicki Minaj coming to Spears’ defense. Now, his book has reportedly prompted a response from Jamie Lynn Spears, after he made her texts about her sister public.

How Did Jamie Lynn Spears Supposedly Respond After Kevin Federline Made Her Texts Public?

The end of a relationship is always difficult, but moving on fully becomes a lot harder if children are a part of the equation and you have to remain involved in your ex’s life to some extent. Because of that, there have been numerous battles and more than a few public wars of words between Britney Spears and Kevin Federline.

Though their kids are now adults (and he recently stopped getting child support for them), with Federline’s new memoir out, it’s made a lot of accusations about things that supposedly happened with the Crossroads lead as he raised their sons (including her allegedly watching them sleep while holding knives). His book also published texts that he claims Jamie Lynn Spears sent to his current wife, Victoria Prince, after her older sister’s conservatorship ended. According to Us Weekly, this has led the younger Spears to unfollow both Federline and Prince on Instagram.

The outlet notes that one reported text saw the Sweet Magnolias actress detail her feelings after the “Toxic” singer berated her sons on social media, with Jamie Lynn allegedly writing:

The Zoey 101 star allegedly sent other texts to Prince, which noted how she felt Britney was "incapable" of seeing she had “accountability” when it came to communicating with her children, and was “so unaware of anything outside of herself.” It’s also claimed that Jamie Lynn later texted Prince and added (among other things):

Between Spears unfollowing the couple on social media and Federline saying, “I don’t want to comment on that,” when asked by Yahoo if he got permission from Jamie Lynn to publish her private messages to Prince, it seems like he may have breached a trust that was there, especially as Jamie Lynn and Britney are still in a fractious place with their own relationship.

Either way, though, it’s clear that his new book will continue to make waves when it comes to its many supposed revelations about his relationship with Spears, her family, and their sons.

The docuseries Quiet on Set: The Dark Side of Kids TV shed light on the inner workings of Nickelodeon during the ‘90s and ‘00s, amid producer Dan Schneider’s tenure at the network. In doing so, the producers spoke to a number of former child actors who worked at the company during that span of time. The now-adult stars provided accounts detailing negative experiences, with actors like Alexa Nikolas and Drake Bell among those sharing their stories. Not every high-profile actor of that era took part in the production, though, including Amanda Bynes and Ariana Grande. Now, new claims have arisen in regard to why they allegedly said no to interviews. 

Amanda Bynes, Jamie Lynn Spears and Ariana Grande were among some of the most popular Nick stars during the early aughts. Each also worked on TV series that were produced by Dan Schneider, who was cut by the network in 2018. As of this writing, the trio of actresses haven’t formally spoken about why they didn’t take part in the five-part docuseries. A source for OK Magazine, however, claims that they weren’t prepared to talk about their experiences. Said individual also made mention of the stars’ purported feelings on the allegations made against Schneider and more: 

Right now, these comments should be taken with a massive grain of salt. It’s worth mentioning that this isn’t the first time that rumors have swirled in regard to Amanda Bynes’ reason for passing on the doc. An insider previously alleged that she opted not to speak out, because she didn’t have the same experiences as those who appeared on the doc. Bynes rose to fame as a cast member on All That and later earned her own program, The Amanda Show. Both were produced by Schneider, who issued an apology after watching the docuseries and simultaneously spoke to his relationship with Bynes. At the time, he explained that he and the star were close and that he even once helped her through a domestic situation involving her parents. 

Jamie Lynn Spears also achieved leading lady status in the early 2000s, having played the eponymous role on Nickelodeon’s teen comedy Zoey 101, which ran for four seasons. Eventual Grammy winner Ariana Grande, meanwhile, was a cast member on four-season series Victorious. Her character, Cat Valentine, proved to be so popular that she co-led the spinoff series, Sam & Cat. 

Those who were interviewed for the series include All That veterans Giovonnie Samuels, Katrina Johnson and Bryan Hearne. While discussing his Nick experience, Hearne opened up about Black child actors being put into stereotypical and demeaning situations. Amanda Show veteran Raquel Lee also spoke out about her tenure with the network. Zoey 101 alum Alexa Nikolas, who has long discussed her time as a child star, didn’t mince words while appearing on the doc as well. And, after Dan Schneider addressed Quiet on Set, Nikolas blasted his apology. 

During the show, Drake Bell revealed he was sexually abused by Brian Peck, who worked as a dialogue coach on multiple Nick productions. It was revealed that Bell was the child actor at the center of Peck’s sexual assault trial in 2004, which saw him charged with 11 counts of lewd conduct with a minor. He was eventually sentenced to 16 months in prison. Since appearing on the show, Bell has provided more candid thoughts about what occurred, including reading the “unbelievable” character letters that were written on Peck’s behalf at the time. Some of those individuals have since made amends with Bell or expressed regret over their support of Peck.

Whether Amanda Bynes, Ariana Grande and Jamie Lynn Spears opt to open up about their own experiences remains to be seen. But, of course, they – and any others who haven’t spoken out – have the right to choose either way.

Following the premiere of Quiet on Set: The Dark Side of Kids TV, many continue to discuss and disseminate the stories that former Nickelodeon stars shared about their time working at the network years ago. The bombshell docuseries, all the while, has also garnered acclaim from critics and general audiences alike. Given the subject matter, many may be curious as to what exactly spurred the minds behind the production to create it. Well, we have some clarification on that front, as the filmmakers explained how some viral clips of Ariana Grande and more motivated them to move forward.

Over the years, rumors have swirled around the ex-Nickelodeon producer Dan Schneider and the workplace that was cultivated while he was at the network. Quiet on Set directors Mary Robertson and Emma Schwartz apparently became curious about this period in the illustrious kid-centric network’s history. Interestingly though, what seemed to grab their attention were a number of clips that had circulated on social media. As Robertson pointed out, they originated from the sets of shows that Schneider created and featured some of the brand’s most notable alums:

After becoming aware of the footage, the duo of filmmakers had plenty of questions, as they explained while talking to Deadline. However, there was something else that they needed to consider as they began to proceed from a creative standpoint. They had to cross-examine themselves and consider what they actually remember from watching classic children’s TV shows. Mary Robertson further explained:

Today, both Ariana Grande and Jamie Lynn Spears remain two of the most recognizable figures from Nick's early-2000s era, which was largely shepherded by Dan Schneider. While Spears played the eponymous role on Zoey 101 for four seasons, Grande portrayed Cat Valentine on Victorious as well as its spinoff, Sam & Cat. As of this writing, neither have spoken out about the docuseries (which is available to stream with a Max subscription). However, many of their contemporaries have and even participated in the production.

Quiet on Set features interviews with several former child stars, such as Giovonnie Samuels and Leon Frierson. Mary Robertson went on to tell Deadline that she’s aware of the continued reactions from veteran actors and others. As she put it, both she and Emma Schwartz are “moved that the film has started a conversation or perhaps launched 1,000 conversations.” It’s admittedly interesting to think that this all began with clips of Ariana Grande, Jamie Lynn Spears and others. At present, Robertson and Schwartz are preparing for the debut of the show’s fifth episode, which includes new interviews.

The latest episode of Quiet on Set: The Dark Side of Kids TV airs tonight, Sunday, April 7 at 8 p.m. ET as part of the 2024 TV schedule. It’ll also be available to stream on Max at the same time.

Quiet on Set: The Dark Side of Kids TV – Discovery Investigation’s four-part documentary on the state of Nickelodeon amid ex-producer Dan Schneider’s tenure – has sparked a lot of discussion. It features interviews with former crew members and former child stars, who shared their experiences working for the network from the ‘90s to the 2010s. One of the various stars to share their personal accounts is Alexa Nikolas, who was a cast member of Zoey 101 for two seasons. The former actress hasn’t minced words but, in one of her latest social media addresses, she shouted out Britney Spears – the sister of her former co-star, Jamie Lynn Spears. 

How Did Alexa Nikolas Shoutout Britney Spears And Why?

Even before the docuseries became available to Max subscribers, the ex-Nick star had long been vocal about her less-than-positive experiences working with the network. She’s specifically been vocal about her working relationship with Jamie Lynn Spears, which was purportedly tense. Nevertheless, Nikolas has shared positive thoughts on her former on-screen friend’s big sister on occasion. She did so again when she took to X to discuss the support she apparently showed her before the doc’s release and afterwards: 

This isn’t the first time the Hidden Hills alum has showered praise on the Grammy winner. She did so upon the release of the singer’s bombshell-filled memoir, The Woman in Me. In 2023, Alexa Nikolas thanked the older Spears sibling for supposedly apologzing to her in the book when it came to the drama between her and Jamie Lynn (who’s been open about her own relationship with Britney). According to Nikolas, Britney allegedly intervened when the on-set feud between Jamie Lynn and Nikolas came to a head. Based on this latest post, Nikolas is still grateful for that and now for the support in the aftermath of the Nick-centric doc’s premiere. 

What Has The Ex-Nickelodeon Star Said Since The Docuseries Premiered?

Since Quiet on Set dropped, the former child star has continued to speak out about the production. More recently, she shared thoughts on Dan Schneider’s reaction to the series. The Zoey 101, All That and Kenan & Kel producer – who parted ways with Nick in 2018 – spoke out via a pre-recorded, 20-minute interview. In it, he noted that when he watched the show he “ould see the hurt in some people’s eyes” and felt “awful” and “sorry” for what apparently transpired years ago. Schneider also noted that he owes some people “a pretty strong apology.” 

Alexa Nikolas wasn’t impressed by her former boss’ remarks and proceeded to blast Dan Schneider’s response. She seemingly took issue with Schneider placing emphasis on his own feelings, calling it “bizzare.” The ex-performer would also add, “You're embarrassed, not embarrassed enough.” When weighing in on Schneider’s sincerity, Nikolas said, “I don’t feel any remorse from him” and noted that “he’s not even crying.”

Other stars who’ve spoken out about mistreatment are All That alums Jack DeSena and Giovonnie Samuels as well as Raquel Lee of The Amanda Show. Also, Drake & Josh’s Drake Bell spoke out about abuse he’d experienced at the hands of dialogue coach Brian Peck, who was convicted on two counts of lewd acts with a minor in 2004.

Since the doc premiered, many – both former child actors and pundits alike – continue to discuss its content. At this point, it seems Alexa Nikolas is going to continue to be candid about her own personal experiences and will shout someone out, if warranted. It’s yet to be seen whether Britney Spears might respond to her praise.

Britney Spears has been open about a number of aspects of her personal life, and that includes her relationships with her relatives. Spears has made various allegations against her family and, at times, it’s seemed the brood wouldn’t be able to mend fences. Things seem to be looking up in some ways, though, as the pop princess has apparently been reconciling with some members of the family. Spears reportedly just had a “wonderful” birthday reunion with her mother, Lynne. Not only that, but it seems the songstress is now also looking to make peace with her sister, Jamie Lynn, as well. 

What’s The Status Of Britney Spears’ Relationship With Her Mother?

The singer and her mother got together this past Friday, to celebrate the Grammy winner’s birthday, which is on December 2. They along, with Britney Spears’ brother, Bryan, allegedly got together at the abode of Cade Hudson – the Crossroads alum’s manager and best friend. TMZ caught up with 68-year-old Lynne Spears as she was preparing to board a flight to Louisiana at LAX this week following the b-day get-together. She didn’t have much to say to the outlet but did mention that the festivities were “wonderful” and that Britney is “happy.”

It’s reasonable to say that the “Oops!... I Did It Again” singer has a complex relationship with her mama. Throughout much of 2022, the veteran entertainer hurled allegations at one another. A positive new chapter in that saga seemingly began in early 2023, though, after Britney and Lynne Spears met up after three years of being estranged. For her part, Britney had a lot of thoughts about reuniting with her mother after so many years. She seemed to relish the opportunity, stating that she felt “so blessed we were able to try to make things RIGHT.” 

It’s lovely to hear that the mother and daughter are reportedly finding common ground after several years of being apart. And if sources are to be believed, another mea culpa could happen between the 42-year-old starlet and her sis.

Where Do Britney And Jamie Lynn Spears Stand At This Point?

32-year-old Jamie Lynn Spears has also not been spared from her older sister’s series of allegations. Britney claimed the Zoey 101 star “exploited her for monetary gain” while going after the latter’s memoir. and didn’t lend support while she was under her conservatorship. Jamie Lynn wasn’t present for the intimate-sounding shindig days ago. However, TMZ reports that Britney purportedly wanted her to be there, though the actress and reality TV star couldn’t make it because she was working on a show internationally. A source for the news outlet added more thoughts on where the “Circus” performer’s head is when it comes to her family: 

This year, the Sweet Magnolias star reflected on past drama within the Spears clan. Jamie Lynn stated that she has “nothing but absolute love for every single one of my family members.” So at this point, one gets the impression that both she and her sibling are ready to bury the hatchet. Whether that actually happens is still up in the air at the moment, though.

In the meantime though, it’s at least sweet to hear that Britney and Lynn Spears have reportedly had some time to reconnect. Time will tell whether their relationship is completely re-solidified as time goes on.

So it was to be expected that many of the pop star’s fans shared the belief that she took offense to her younger sibling joining Dancing with the Stars’ latest season, though there were conflicting reports on that matter. There’s currently less of a need for speculation on that front, as the Zoey 101 vet faced a shocking elimination in Season 32’s second episode, but now fans can ponder over whether Britney’s latest dance video took aim at that reality TV ousting. 

Britney Spears Dances To Gotye 

 After so much attention (police and otherwise) surrounded her recent dancing-with-knives video that paid tribute to Shakira’s performance at the MTV VMAs, Britney Spears is once again causing fans to question her motivations over the clip she posted to Instagram late Tuesday evening. In the hours after Dancing with the Stars’ “Latin Week” episode delivered the season’s second elimination, the former Disney kid posted a rather simple vid that didn’t seem to address anything DWTS-related with the visuals, but it was the song choice that possibly held meaning.

I'm not sure if Gotye has any tracks called "I'm Glad You're Not Going To Win That Dancing Competition," but that would have been a far more clear zinger aimed in Jamie Lynn Spears' direction. With "Somebody That I Used To Know," though, it's harder to tell if the song choice was just a coincidence, or if the singer was winkingly alluding to the up-and-down relationship shared with her younger sister. 

Considering their situation hasn't sparked any massive drama across 2023 so far, with attempts being made to reconcile relationships within certain family circles of the Spears family, this 100% could be a perfectly innocent (if still generally bizarre) video that doesn't stand out in any way compared to the myriad other dance clips that she's posted in recent years. But fans will no doubt have their suspicions anyway.

How Jamie Lynn Spears Reacted To Her Elmination

It didn't look like Jamie Lynn Spears was too worried about her sister's possible reactions during Dancing with the Stars itself, with this week's performance comprising a cha-cha to the tune of Pitbull's "Shake Señora." And while she was as flabbergasted as anyone about being booted from the show so early — her and Alan Bersten's score of 16 was higher than four other teams' tallies — but had only graciousness and appreciation to share in the aftermath. Here's how she reacted to the unfortunate turn of events on Instagram:

It was far from the first time Dancing with the Stars upended expectations and delivered an unforeseen elimination, and it certainly won't be the last. Perhaps if DWTS take a page from Jeopardy's playbook and brings back gone-too-soon hopefuls, fans can see her get another shot at the mirrorball trophy. As Dancing With the Stars prepares for Season 32, fans are likely getting excited. While it seemed like the show could be delayed due to the WGA writers’ strike, that is no longer an issue since the guild has come to a tentative agreement with the AMPTP. Now, fans will for sure be able to witness the competition for the coveted and newly-named Len Goodman Mirrorball Trophy. Among those competing is Jamie Lynn Spears, who the show went out of its way to sign, and she's been hyping fans up on TikTok. 

The Zoey 102 star and her partner, Alan Bersten, took to TikTok to give a preview of their moves. It was in response to new pro Rylee Arnold and her partner, Too Hot To Handle’s Harry Jowsey, as the two couples seem to already be competing against each other. From the looks of Spears and Bersten, it’s going to be an entertaining season:

While there has been some controversy surrounding Spears’ addition to Dancing With the Stars, it seems like she and Bersten are having a lot of fun and working hard while doing so. Even though it was previously reported that big sister Britney didn’t like that Jamie Lynn was on DWTS, another report stated differently saying that the singer had a positive reaction. Either way, the actress seems to be having fun preparing to hit the ballroom. 

It's a good thing Jamie Lynn Spears is having a good time and that her sister could even be rooting for her, considering DWTS went out of its way to sign her. Sources told TMZ that the former Nickelodeon actress was able to practice at a studio near her home in Tennessee so she could still be with her two daughters. Alan Bersten has also reportedly been flying back and forth between Tennessee and LA, where the bulk of rehearsals have been for the other couples and where the series films.

This isn’t the first time Dancing With the Stars has made travel exceptions to sign celebrity contestants. Real Housewives star Teresa Giudice was able to rehearse in New Jersey last season so she could stay close to her family. She allegedly had to fly to LA a day or two before each performance, so it’s logical that Spears might do something similar as the season gets going. Whatever the case may be, DWTS really wanted Spears, and they were determined to sign her.

With Dancing With the Stars coming back to ABC this season, it’s going to be quite a ride. On top of a new night, Julianne Hough is returning to the ballroom as co-host. With plenty more celebrity contestants alongside Jamie Lynn Spears and Harry Jowsey, it will be a season you won’t want to miss. It all starts tonight too, September 26, at 8 p.m. ET on ABC as part of the 2023 TV schedule.

Britney Spears has definitely had a roller coaster of a 2023 so far, with the summer months being particularly hectic, thanks in large part to her impending divorce from ex-hubby Sam Asghari. That said, she’s got her tell-all memoir on the way, and plans to jump back into making music, so the future is looking somewhat bright all the same. So when it was announced that her sister and occasional feud target Jamie Lynn Spears was tapped as a contestant for the new season of ABC’s Dancing with the Stars, it wasn’t so surprising when initial reports claimed the pop star was upset by the news. But now it seems those claims may not have been entirely on the mark. 

It now appears as if Britney Spears wasn’t surprised at all by the news of her sibling’s dance skills being put to the test for Season 32 of Dancing with the Stars. On the contrary, TMZ reports the “Toxic” singer was given the heads up prior to the casting press release and announcement going public. And what’s more? It’s claimed she had a positive reaction and took the update pretty positively, all things considered. 

Details are rather scarce as far as exactly how she found out about it, but it’s more than possible that the messenger reached out early specifically to see how Jamie Lynn Spears jumping into the network TV spotlight would affect her older sister’s mental state. After all, though the pair weren’t at complete odds with each other as it’s been in the past, and were allegedly at peace throughout the year, with the Zoey 101 vet vowing only love for her family over the summer. 

Of course, that was partially in response to the aftermath of the tumultuous time in which Britney Spears was released from her 13-year conservatorship in November 2021, and also partially in response to her own 2022 memoir that kicked up some family dust. So it wasn’t so hard to believe that the "Slave 4 U" vocalist might have had a thorn in her paw over the whole thing.

But while an earlier rumor pointed to the elder musician being taken aback by Jamie Lynn’s return to reality TV so soon after taking part in the first season of Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test, it seems familial strife of this variety isn’t at the forefront of Britney’s mindset. And one can only hope that to be true, because if things are perfectly pleasant between them, it makes it that much easier to buy into the idea of the Grammy winner making a surprise DWTS visit to root her sis on. Not the likeliest possibility, but a possibility nonetheless.

Of course, it’s not exactly clear at this point if Dancing with the Stars is moving forward as planned with its new season, or if strike-related walkouts from Matt Walsh and others will force the unscripted series into delaying new episodes until the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes are resolved. The series is currently still set to return on September 26 for ABC viewers and those with Disney+ subscriptions, but time will tell if we’re waiting a little longer to see Jamie Lynn Spears showing off her dancing skills on TV.

Occasional birthday messages shared between the Spears and other sweet gestures have suggested they're on good terms. However, if an insider is to be believed, Jamie Lynn's latest gig is causing a rift. The "Circus" singer allegedly doesn’t believe this is the right time for her younger sibling to appear on DWTS, per Us Weekly:

Despite Britney Spears purportedly feeling that way, she also allegedly knows it’s “out of her control” but doesn’t “feel she’s being protected by her family at the moment.” As of this writing, these assertions have not been verified by the Spears themselves. What can be said, though, is that this isn't the only gig Jamie Lynn Spears has booked as of late. She's been on World’s Toughest Test and starred in the Zoey 101 sequel movie, Zoey 102, over the past several months. 

The feud between the Spears sisters has been making headlines for quite some time now and has seen a number of twists and turns. On top of that back-and-forth, Britney has made claims against multiple family members over a long period of time. Earlier this year, Britney lashed out at Jamie Lynn after the latter said “it was hard” being her sister. Over the summer, though, the older Spears sibling seemingly tried to make amends after reuniting with their mother. Given the seemingly up-and-down nature of their relationship, it's hard to say just where the two sisters stand at this point.

In regard to Dancing with the Stars, Jamie Lynn Spears joins a cast filled with singers, actors, reality stars and athletes for Season 32. Also competing for the Mirrorball Trophy in this time around are Brady Bunch star Barry Williams, influencer Lele Pons, Marvel star Xochitl Gomez, How I Met Your Mother's Alyson Hannigan, singer Jason Mraz, The Bachelorette's Charity Lawson, and NFL veteran Adrian Peterson, among many others. Spears is set to be partnered with Alan Bersten. It remains to be seen just how far she'll go in the competition and, surely, fans will be keeping an eye out to see if her social media-savvy sister Britney decided to chime in on her performance at some point.

Fans can tune in to DWTS on its new night, starting Tuesday, September 26 at 8 p.m. ET on ABC. It should be an exciting season to watch during the 2023 TV schedule.

After 15 years, the crew from Pacific Coast Academy is finally back for the Zoey 101 sequel movie, Zoey 102, which can be streamed with a Paramount+ subscription. It is only the latest reboot/revival to happen, and although there were some missing Zoey 101 castmates, the film still brought tons of nostalgia. Now, the question is: following the movie, could there be more on the horizon? 

Zoey 102 sees Jamie Lynn Spears return as the titular Zoey Brooks as she and some of her PCA classmates get together for Logan and Quinn’s wedding. However, it's more complicated than that for the main character, because she has to hire a fake boyfriend for the ceremony and focus on her job at the same time, all while being Quinn’s maid of honor. 

The series brought back tons of nostalgia for fans who grew up with the series, and some could be itching for more, especially since not everyone returned. So, director Nancy Hower told TVLine that she’s hoping for a future with the franchise:

Since Zoey 102 did catch fans up on what some of the PCA Class of 2008 have been up to, and even what they’re doing now, it would be nice to continue seeing them and have more come back. There are plenty of shows that are doing well with revivals, such as That’s So Raven with Raven’s Home and fellow Nickelodeon show iCarly, which just released its Season 3 finale. It probably all depends on how Zoey 102 is received and whether or not enough people like it, but you never know what could happen. 

That being said, what would another film or series in the Zoey 101 franchise look like? It was revealed in the film that Pacific Coast Academy wasn’t technically a real school, as it wasn’t accredited, and Dean Rivers apparently stole all the money, so the school shut down after the Class of 2008. Despite that though, the school was still somewhat standing, albeit abandoned, when the gang went back to throw Logan and Quinn’s wedding. It could be an interesting story to have them rebuild the school and welcome in a new class. With Chase being a teacher now, maybe he could even be the dean.

Another show or movie in the Zoey 101 franchise would also be a good way to bring back some other cast members that wanted to be in Zoey 102 but couldn’t. Victoria Justice couldn’t be in Zoey 102 due to other commitments, and while it was a disappointment that fans never got to see Lola, there is still a possibility she could come back for a future project. Hopefully, she was able to achieve her dreams of being an actress, which would make for a very good excuse for why she wasn’t at her best friend’s wedding.

It may be a while until there is any news on a potential second movie or show, but since Nancy Hower is interested, she probably isn’t the only one who has also thought about the future of Zoey 101. In the meantime, as fans hope and wait for more Zoey, all four seasons of the original show, plus Zoey 102, are streaming now, along with all the other best shows on Paramount+.

In less than a week, fans will be able to go back to PCA when the much-anticipated Zoey 101 sequel movie, Zoey 102, finally premieres on Paramount+. The film will see Jamie Lynn Spears reprise her role as the titular Zoey Brooks, and some other stars from the hit early-2000s Nickelodeon series are set to return too. The show originally ended in 2008, and at the time, people couldn’t help but notice it was around the time that Spears was expecting and as a teenager. Now the actress is opening up about what it was like getting pregnant at the end of Zoey 101 and the major backlash she received.

While getting pregnant as a teen already turns heads, going through it in the public eye at the height of a career and while on a children’s network surely makes it even harder. Even though some people thought Zoey 101 ended because Jamie Lynn Spears got pregnant, it’s been confirmed that the network already planned to end the series beforehand. The Sweet Magnolias star told Variety that when the series wrapped, she felt it was time to get off-grid after finding out she was pregnant, even if it meant turning down scripts. She explained:

Spears was mostly out of the public eye for a few years after she had her first daughter, and while it couldn’t have been easy for her, it sounds like she did what was best for both her and her baby. However, the press and fans didn’t exactly make it easy for her. As one would expect, the former Nickelodeon star got quite a lot of backlash about it, but she wouldn’t change what she did, as she said:

Even though trolls come with the territory when you’re in the public eye, I imagine it’s hard to move past them, especially when you’re trying to protect your family. Now with two kids and a continuing acting career, she is doing it all. She even briefly returned to Nickelodeon for the Double Dare reboot in 2018, with her daughter, no less.

Spears made her official return to the entertainment industry in 2013, five years after Zoey 101 ended. Since then, she’s put out a record, candid interviews, and even a controversial memoir that wasn't received well by her sister Britney. Most recently, she was one of the contestants on Fox’s Special Forces, and she is part of the cast of Sweet Magnolias, which just dropped Season 3 on Netflix. Now she is gearing up for her return as Zoey in Zoey 102. 

Fans will be able to see Jamie Lynn Spears as Zoey Brooks once again when they stream the upcoming film Zoey 102, which premieres Thursday, July 27, and will be available through a Paramount+ subscription. All four seasons of Zoey 101 are also available on the streamer.

Britney Spears hasn’t always seen eye to eye with her family members, and that’s certainly been the case over the past year. She, her sister, Jamie Lynn Spears and more were engaged in a number of squabbles, some of which spilled over into social media. In spite of all that, the public currently has reason to believe that at least some of the relatives are looking to mend fences, though. A few weeks ago, Britney revealed on social media that she’d reconnected with her sister and, before that, she posted about meeting up with her mother for the first time in years. Jamie Lynn has since spoken about the relationship she has with her family members, and she became emotional while doing so. 

Jamie Lynn Spears is currently looking towards the release of her upcoming Zoey 101 sequel movie – Zoey 102. While promoting the production, she caught up with Variety, where she was asked about where she stands with her sister and other family members. Jamie Lynn would neither confirm nor deny whether she did indeed meet up with Britney, as the trade’s sources say she doesn’t want to upset her big sister. However, she spoke very warmly when referencing the pop star and the rest of their brood: 

Reports of a feud between Jamie Lynn and Britney Spears have run rampant for a while now. Britney has accused her sister of not looking out for her well being when it was absolutely necessary, particularly while she was subject to a conservatorship. For that reason, in the fall of 2021, she shamed Jamie Lynn for allegedly being a hypocrite after she aimed to give the proceeds from her biography to a mental health-based initiative. The charity eventually backed down from the donation offer. 

The pair’s relationship arguably became even more contentious in 2022 after the sitcom star spoke out about her relationship with the Grammy winner. While she contended that she loved her sibling despite their “complicated” dynamic, Britney Spears later accused her sister of being a “scum person.” That led Jamie Lynn to fire back on social media, where she asked her sister to stop legitimizing the narrative that she was never there for her. Today, the Sweet Magnolias star, who teared up during her chat, seems grateful that the drama is seemingly behind her: 

The actress and singer seems to care a great deal about what her children think of her and their family as a whole. Variety later asked the former child actor how she might react if her 15-year-old daughter, Maddie, approached her after hearing kids talk about “Aunt Britney” at school. The mother of two had the following to say:

Due in great part to the work of Britney and Jamie Lynn, the Spears name is – in a number of ways – synonymous with success. The stars have put in the work, though the bonds they possess as a family seem to be equally, if not more, important to Jamie Lynn. On that note, it’s sweet that she once offered sympathy to Britney over her past breakup with Justin Timberlake. And that Britney, on her own birthday, penned a letter to her sister. If these most recent comments are anything to go by, the famous clan is slowly but surely finding common ground. One can only hope that things continue to improve and that they have they space to reconnect.

It’s almost time to head back to Pacific Coast Academy or at least, kind of. Since Nickelodeon announced the Zoey 101 sequel movie, appropriately titled Zoey 102, there have been mixed reactions to the Paramount+ film, especially amid lead actress Jamie Lynn Spears’ fallout with big sister Britney. However, all of that isn’t stopping Spears from still celebrating her return as Zoey Brooks, as she and the Zoey 102 cast got together in honor of the film. Not only that, but she’s also referenced her former co-stars who aren't reprising their roles are being mentioned.

There was recently a Zoey 102 cocktail party in celebration of the upcoming film, and the cast came out in full force. Jamie Lynn Spears made sure to document the fun on her Instagram, making note that shindig was filled with old and new friends. Those who've been keeping up with the production, likely know the film's cast includes some Zoey 101 veterans as well as some fresh faces. Spears said:

The star’s caption has been raising some eyebrows, especially given the way she worded it. Of course, there’s a good amount of the old cast that came back for the new movie, including Sean Flynn, Chris Massey, Matthew Underwood, and Erin Sander. Abby Wilde and Jack Salvatore, who played recurring characters on the classic show, are also in the mix. However, there were some notable PCA faces missing from the cast, like Elvis star Austin Butler, who portrayed Zoey’s boyfriend, James in the show’s fourth season. There's also the actor who played Zoey's young brother, Dustin, throughout the entire series, Paul Butcher. Perhaps the most notable (and least surprisingly absent person) is Alexa Nikolas, who played Nicole in the first two seasons.

In recent years, and even recent months, Alexa Nikolas has opened up about her time on the popular Nickelodeon series. With that, she's claimed that she was a victim of bullying on the set, allegedly at the hands of Jamie Lynn Spears. There’s no way of knowing who Spears is specifically referring to when she says “missing a few." But regardless, the actress seems to be having a good time. Also, ven though she isn't in the movie, Victoria Justice, who played Lola in Seasons 2 through 4, still showed her support by popping up and reuniting with her former on-screen roommate:

Victoria Justice previously told Variety that due to her busy schedule, she wasn’t able to fit the film in. Though the star also said that she'd had been in touch with her former castmates and would've loved to “be there with them.” Though it would've been wonderful to see Lola return in the movie, I'm glad Justice did get to rub shoulders with the rest of the gang.

Though some of the Zoey 101 cast didn’t make it in the movie, mostly by choice, Zoey 102 adds some solid new actors. Thomas Lennon, Owen Thiele, and Dean Geyer are all part of the cast and will surely create some interesting dynamics for the PCA crew. It's great to see the mix of old and new franchise stars is nostalgic, even if there are a few of the former missing.

Despite some controversy surrounding Jamie and Britney Spears, it’s clear that the former and the cast are very excited for the upcoming Zoey 102, and the same is likely true for some hardcore fans as well. The movie is set to premiere on on July 27 as part of the schedule 2023 new movie releases. In the meantime, you can stream all four seasons of Zoey 101 now with a Paramount+ subscription.

Britney Spears has made no bones about trouble she has had with varying family members. She’s blamed her parents and her sister in the past for the part they played in keeping her in a conservatorship. However, in recent months she’s made moves to make amends. First, her mother reached out to her and they reconciled. Now, it seems she has reunited with sister Jamie Lynn Spears as well. 

In a new post, Britney Spears was the latest celebrity to rock out in Barbiecore pink. She shared footage of herself doing the activity she probably loves most – dancing of course – while on a boat with her husband Sam Asghari and other pals. While Jamie Lynn doesn’t appear to be a part of the festivities, Ms. Spears did caption the Instagram post with a comment about how she visited her sister on set. 

Ms. Spears spending time with her sister is a big deal. Back in May, she reunited with her mom Lynne Spears, though the fans couldn’t help but stir up negativity. She later said Lynne just ‘showed up’ on her doorstep for the first time in three years. The two had coffee together and Britney later expressed feeling “blessed” the reunion moment had happened. Now, it sounds like she has maybe patched things up with her sister too. 

This is great news given just a few months ago Jamie Lynn had commented about it being “hard” to be the sister of the “Toxic” singer growing up, though she also said she was “proud” of her. Britney Spears publicly called out her sister afterward, making it clear there were some hard feelings on both sides given that Britney was famous but her family was reaping the benefits while she was working. So, it’s great if they’ve been able to work past this and make amends privately. 

In addition, Spears pointed out that the trip also had a double meaning for her as it was the first trip she and Hesam had been able to take together in a year. Previous vacations with Sam Asghari have included a two-week yacht vacation for their honeymoon and more. 

Britney doesn’t clarify what her sister was filming, but Jamie Lynn Spears is set to be a part of Zoey 102 a film sequel follow-up to her popular Nickelodeon series Zoey 101. Given that film is coming out later this year and has a beach setting it's possible that's the "set" that Spears was able to reunite with her sister on, though to be clear this is speculation on my end. Season 3 of Sweet Magnolias is also dropping later this summer on Netflix.

Zoey 102 will be available to Paramount Plus subscribers later this year and in the meantime here’s hoping that the good vibes between Britney Spears and her family continue.

Special Forces: World's Toughest Test aired its latest episode on January 11, and much like the premiere, celebrities were dropping out of the competition left and right. The most recent installment featured three celebrity exits, including one that was a result of some major tension with another competitor. 

Viewers who missed the episode can use a Hulu subscription to see what happened; for those who watched or are just curious, let's jump in and break down who went home and why: 

Jamie Lynn Spears - Voluntarily Withdrawn

It wasn't far into Special Forces: World's Toughest Test's latest episode that yet another celebrity was reaching out to the staff to leave. Jamie Lynn Spears had completed all of her tasks for the day, but despite that, just couldn't shake the feeling of wanting to be home with her children. Spears had mentioned previously that she had a lot of guilt and trauma tied to her daughter's tragic accident years ago, so it might not be surprising to many viewers that she was ready to get back to her kids despite performing relatively well in the challenges. 

Nastia Liukin - Voluntarily Withdrawn

Nastia Liukin's exit from Special Forces: World's Toughest Test started during the car submersion challenge. Participants were required to spend 20 seconds submerged in a car underwater and then could unbuckle and return to the surface once a scuba assistant squeezed their arm. Those who unbuckled and surfaced too early failed, which later became a point of tension in part due to Liukin. 

Olympian Nastia Liukin was worried about her ability to perform the task and explained to a staff member that a blow to her face during her gymnastics career made it hard for her to hold her breath for a long time. It took a good deal of time for the staff to convince Liukin to try the obstacle, and she only agreed to participate when one of the staff agreed to do the task with her to help her through it. 

After she completed the objective, a number of participants were upset that Nastia Liukin took so long to complete the challenge, which kept them out in the sun and unable to take bathroom breaks much longer. Participants like Gus Kenworthy also didn't like the fact that they failed the task on their own but that Liukin was given a pass despite her help from the staff. 

Gus Kenworthy later confronted Nastia Liukin about the incident and said he felt it was unfair to everyone that she held up the process and was given a passing rating when others failed. Liukin said she didn't like the idea of being looked down on by her peers for receiving special treatment, and Kenworthy's comments confirmed that was the case. She went to the staff and voluntarily withdrew, and said goodbye to singer Melanie Brown before her exit. If only Dr. Drew Pinsky had still been around, he might've helped mediate the tension, and Liukin might've stuck around. 

Melanie "Mel B" Brown - Voluntarily Withdrawn

Mel B was actually crushing the various obstacles of Special Forces: World's Toughest Test, despite being traumatized by white penises. After losing both Jamie Lynn Spears and Nastia Liukin over the course of a day, however, the singer definitely had her mood change. Mel B began to smoke cigarettes she snuck into the competition as contraband, which put some of the other participants on edge. 

Reality star Kenya Moore, potentially bothered by the cigarette scent or afraid they'd all be punished if Mel B was caught smoking, informed the former Spice Girl she could smell the smoke from inside the tent even though Brown was outside. The singer, seemingly annoyed, told her not to worry about it and that she was quitting. Mel B then quickly made her way to the staff tent to withdraw voluntarily. When asked why she quit, the singer said she felt she accomplished more than she originally set out to do and was content with leaving at this point. 

The episode ended with a total of three exits, which means seven contestants total have already left and only nine remain. Britney Spears has made a lot of allegations against her family since the end of her conservatorship. While her relationships with her entire family are turbulent, there’s been a lot going on between her and her sister Jamie Lynn Spears lately. Now, following Jamie Lynn speaking about how she’s struggled, her sister Britney lashed out on Instagram.  

Spears started the post, by explaining that while she was performing during a long Las Vegas residency, her family was living the high life, having spa days and drinking Champagne. The singer wrote: 

This post comes a few days after Jamie Lynn Spears appeared on the premiere of Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test. While being interviewed on the reality competition, the pop star’s sister said:

Going back to Britney Spears' post, she continued, alluding to the conservatorship she was under for years, and writing about her sister speaking about their relationship on TV, while she writes about it on social media. She wrote: 

While writing about being under that conservatorship for so long, Spears also acknowledged the screenshots of nerve damage she posted. She wrote about how she has it, and the right side of her body “goes numb every night!!!”  The “Hold Me Closer” singer then wrote that this was “not a victim story” and that she was not “crying about it.”

This is not the first time Britney Spears has spoken out against her sister. At the beginning of 2022, she accused her of being a “scum person.” Jamie Lynn Spears then responded asking her sister to contact her so they could talk directly.  While Jamie Lynn has tried to reach out to her sister, Britney has made it clear she’s not ready to forgive her. 

Over the last year, Britney Spears has been clear that she does not appreciate her sister talking about their relationship. She even got lawyers involved when she went after her sister’s memoir. And while it seemed things may have been on the mend at the end of 2022 after Britney posted a kind message to her sister on Instagram, this latest post makes it clear the feud is still ongoing. 

It's not secret that Britney Spears has had issues with members of her family over the past several years, but her latest gesture could imply that she's looking to mend fences. To her fans' surprise, Spears celebrated her own birthday by posting a sweet message to her estranged sister, Jamie Lynn Spears. It's honestly a bit of a shocking development, to say the least, but the post is very sentimental and sure to warm some fans' hearts.

The “Toxic” singer, who turned 41 on Friday, is usually active on Instagram and, as of late, has been posting content that pays tribute to her sons and her husband, Sam Asghari. In that spirit, she had some kind words for her "baby sister." In her caption, Spears wrote:

The post featured a couple of photos of Jamie Lynn Spears, one that shows her playing the guitar, and one that's a portrait of her in a kitchen. Check it out: 

While the message is sweet, fans were shocked by the post, and they made it clear they aren’t quite sure if it was actually Britney who uploaded the photos. (That effectively adds to the continuous list of conspiracy theories in the singer’s comments.) For example, former Bachelorette Kaitlyn Bristowe commented: 

That comment has over 10,000 likes, and TikToker Mik Zazon posted a comment that's since garnered 33,000 likes, which reads: 

The reason for the confusion is that the two sisters have been publicly feuding since the end of Britney’s conservatorship, which lasted 13 years. Jamie Lynn had not been an exception in Britney’s allegations against her family. Britney previously cited her younger sister as one of the people who left her "drowning" amid the legal arrangement.

Earlier this year, Britney Spears' lawyer presented Jamie Lynn with a cease and desist letter, asking her to stop sharing stories about Britney while promoting her memoir, Things I Should Have Said. In January, Britney also called her little sister “scum,” and declared that she wasn’t ready to forgive her. Jamie Lynn responded to her sister, saying she had “attempted many times to speak to [her] directly and handle this privately like sisters should.” 

The younger Spears has spoken out about how she loves her sister, telling GMA that she's "only ever loved and supported her.” She also said she “took no steps to be a part of” Britney’s conservatorship. In addition to all of this, she also showed sympathy toward Britney regarding her breakup with Justin Timberlake. 

In terms of other members of the Spears family, Britney has accused her mother of hitting her, and father Lynn Spears has reached out multiple times trying to apologize for what the “...Baby One More Time” singer went through. Britney seemingly responded to her mom's pleas, though it wasn’t exactly a loving reply. 

Based on Britney’s latest post about her sister, it appears the two have made up or are, at the very least, taking steps to make amends. One would hope that the two siblings -- and the family as a whole -- will find some kind of peace.

Britney Spears became a music superstar when her first single, "...Baby One More Time," was released in late September 1998. The storied career that followed, however, eventually took many turns that I doubt any fans were expecting, when the singer was embroiled in a number of very public struggles and had to undergo involuntary psychiatric evaluations. A little less than 10 years after she had her first hit, on February 1, 2008, she was placed under a conservatorship, which was partially run by her father, Jamie.

That conservatorship ended in November 2021, and she’s been open about claims of abuse/neglect on the part of several of those in her family since the summer of that same year. To help you keep track of what’s gone on, we have for you now a timeline of Spears’ allegations against her family.

Britney Spears Spoke Out Against Her Conservatorship For The First Time In June 2021 

Fan fears for the “(You Drive Me) Crazy” singer had been mounting for several years, but publicly, she didn’t speak about the court order controlling her every move. That changed in June 2021, when she asked to address the court about her conservatorship. Spears proceeded to shock many people with her numerous allegations of abuse, including likening her life under the order to that of someone who endures “sex trafficking.” According to Variety, she said, in part: 

The star claimed that she had no say in her schedule and that unless she worked “10 hours a day, seven days a week, no days off,” she wasn’t permitted to see either her two sons or boyfriend (her now husband, Sam Asghari).

The Next Month, Spears Blamed The “People Closest” To Her For Leaving Her “Drowning” 

In mid-July 2021, she posted on Instagram (via Today) but later removed her comments, which blamed the “people closest” to her for leaving her “drowning” during her conservatorship, and said:

While the Crossroads star didn’t mention people by name, she appears to have been speaking about her mother, Lynne, and younger sister, Jamie Lynn, who had both come out to show support for her after she opened up in court. 

Around The Same Time, Spears Said She Won’t Perform Because Conservatorship “Killed My Dreams,” And Pointed To Her Dad And Sister 

At around the same time, in July 2021, Spears told her Instagram followers that she’d be unlikely to perform in the future, because working conditions under the conservatorship “killed my dreams”: 

She also said that she’d been “begging” to add new music to her shows and to have “real deal” remixes for her concerts, seemingly referring to her sister’s 2017 tribute performance at the Radio Disney Music Awards, which also included other singers covering her songs. 

The Pop Star Claimed Her Father Is Extorting Her In Early September 2021

Spears had her lawyers file legal documents which claimed that her dad was attempting to extort her. This allegation was due to Jamie, supposedly, asking for almost $2 million for a “quid pro quo” in order to quit his role in her conservatorship, which he’d already agreed (on August 12, 2021) to do. 

Two Months Later, She Accused Her Mom Of Introducing The Idea Of The Conservatorship 

Only two months later, in early November 2021, the Princess of Pop posted (via TMZ) and deleted a conservatorship rant mostly aimed at her mother, where she admitted to sounding “mean,” but accused the elder Spears of being the one who gave her father the idea for the court order. She added that her mom “secretly ruined my life,” and told her to “go fuck yourself.” 

In Late December 2021, The Singer Said She Wasn’t Allowed To Perform New Music Under Conservatorship 

Roughly a month and a half after her conservatorship was finally over, the embattled star took to social media yet again, and told fans that she was “set up” to “fail” during her Las Vegas residency, because she “asked for 13 years to perform new songs and remixes of my old songs,” but was always told no, even while trying to keep that show exciting for fans. 

Spears Claimed Her Sister “Exploited Her For Monetary Gain” In January 2022 

The “Circus” singer began feuding with her little sister on social media in the summer of 2021, but took things much further in January 2022, when she had her lawyers send Jamie Lynn a cease and desist letter (reported on by Variety on January 18) during the promo tour for her memoir, Things I Should Have Said. Because the book and many of the interviews regarding it were partially focused on Britney, the letter claimed that she was “shocked” to see that her sibling had “exploited her for monetary gain.” 

A Few Days Later, She Called Jamie Lynn “Scum,” Alleged She Knew What Happened During Conservatorship, And Was Lying 

On January 29, 2022, a few days after news of that cease and desist letter went public, the “Gimmie More” singer went back to Instagram with a now-deleted post about her sister. She alleged that the Sweet Magnolias star’s claims that she didn’t know what Britney endured during her conservatorship were “bullshit,” adding, “you’re lying and making money off of me!!!! You are scum, Jamie Lynn.” 

In April 2022, Spears’ Lawyer Reported That Her Mother Benefitted From Conservatorship To The Tune Of At Least $1.7 Million

After her mom asked her superstar daughter to pay the legal fees she reportedly took on while attempting to help free her, early April saw Spears’ lawyer, Mathew Rosengart, report in his response (via ET) that her mother had spent “at least a decade” living in a large home owned and paid for “continuously” by her oldest daughter, with the total spent during that time being “approximately $1.7 million.”

In May 2022, Her Lawyers Alleged That Jamie Spears Made Millions From His Daughter’s Conservatorship

After months of the pop star’s dad reportedly dodging her lawyers’ attempts to depose him, Rosengart alleged in legal documents obtained by TMZ that Jamie Spears paid himself at least $6.3 million of his child’s money, while also using her funds to pay tens of millions more to others working for the conservatorship.

Spears Posted Audio Of Several New Allegations, Including That Events Leading To Conservatorship Were “Premeditated,” In August 2022

Late August 2022 saw the “Hold Me Closer” performer post and then deleted a 22-minute audio clip to YouTube (via Newsweek) that included many new allegations against her family. As she discussed the night she was taken away in an ambulance while surrounded by paparazzi, Spears said her mom told her beforehand that “people” were coming to talk to her, and added: 

Soon After, The Superstar Alleged That Ex-Husband Kevin Federline Hadn’t Worked In 15 Years 

In early September 2022, Spears responded to her teen son, Jayden, who had spoken to a documentary crew (via Daily Mail) about why neither of her children attended her recent wedding to Asghari. In her post, she alleged that their father and her ex-husband, Kevin Federline, “hasn’t had a job in 15 years,” alluding to the fact that she helped to support him and his new family financially as their sons continued to live with him.

In Late September 2022, Spears Claimed That Her Family Locked Her Up ‘For Four Months’

Just a few weeks later, the “Work Bitch” songstress went back to Instagram in a post that’s since been deleted, to tell followers about what she felt was the worst part of the conservatorship, and said that it was when her family, allegedly, had her locked up somewhere for several months. Her post said:

We’re not sure where this supposedly occurred, but her noting that she wasn’t allowed outside of “my own door” makes it seem like she was kept at her home and not able to leave of her own free will.

In early October of the same year, Spears went back to her social media (right before she deleted her page again) and made another surprising accusation, telling fans about a time her mother allegedly hit her:

We can probably expect the superstar to keep speaking out against those she feels wronged her for so many years. Luckily, it seems that she is beginning to mend fences with at least some of her family members, because she accepted a visit from her mother in May 2023, while June of the same year saw her have a pleasant meet up with her sister. Hopefully, this means that she and her bonds with her family can actually heal.

Britney Spears has been taking time lately to focus on the good things in her life following the end of her 13-year conservatorship. That includes focusing on her fitness and shouting out fiancé Sam Asghari for sticking by her side. The possibly retired pop singer’s troubles aren’t all behind her, however, as her feud with younger sister Jamie Lynn Spears is still boiling below the surface. Britney recently posted — then deleted — her latest message to the Zoey 101 actress, vowing to put her little sister in her place.

Tensions have been high between the sisters ever since Britney Spears’ conservatorship ended, and the “Baby One More Time” singer accused members of her family for allowing the abuse to go on for too long. The release of Jamie Lynn Spears’ memoir, Things I Should Have Said only made things worse between the pair, as Jamie Lynn revealed stories about her older sister that Britney claimed were untrue, prompting the latter to call her little sister “a scum person.” The now-deleted Instagram post in question (via Mirror) showed Britney walking back the name-calling but still demanding answers.

The “scum” comment followed an interview Jamie Lynn Spears gave when promoting her book, in which she recalled a time when she claimed Britney Spears locked them in a room while brandishing a knife. The older sister disputed that had actually happened, and said Jamie Lynn had reached a “whole new level of low.” In the recent Instagram post, Britney issued a warning to the former child actress, calling her a “sassy ass.” 

Jamie Lynn Spears has previously said that she’s tried to handle this situation privately with Britney Spears, but it’s hard to know with all the back-and-forth and accusations of lying what all has really gone down in the Spears family. One thing is for sure — Britney does not trust the people involved with her conservatorship, and that includes her mother Lynne Spears. Britney’s now-deleted post expressed disbelief over the ongoing feud with her sister at a time when she knows her actions are being so closely scrutinized.

It’s really a sad situation, and given the public nature of the feud and the extreme nature of some of the accusations, there’s likely not an easy solution for Britney and Jamie Lynn Spears. No matter how the situation between the sisters plays out, however, we just like to see Britney speaking her truth and taking advantage of her newfound freedom, purple hair, vacations and all!

While the end of the 13-year-long conservatorship came with a lot more freedom for Britney Spears, it also came with no shortage of additional family drama and trolling. The pop singer has taken issue with her mother, Lynne, and younger sister Jamie Lynn for not sticking up for her in all that time. The sisterly feud, in particular, wasn't helped much when the Zoey 101 star recently released a book about her life called Things I Should Have Said. Amidst their back-and-forth in the media, Britney Spears is making it plain that she's not ready to forgive the feud or the tell-all, calling her sister “scum” yet again.

Previously, Britney Spears called Jamie Lynn as both a liar and “scum” after the latter detailed an incident in her memoir concerning Britney supposedly brandishing a knife with her in a locked room. The younger sibling followed up the insults by asking Britney to call her to end the feud because it was all very “embarrassing.” Suffice to say, the former X Factor judge didn't end the feud but instead issued a cease-and-desist letter through her lawyers regarding the book in question. It didn't appear to do much good, though, because Jamie Lynn just earned a spot on the National Bestsellers book list. And her sister took to Instagram with some thoughts, saying:

The fiery post was accompanied by two media clips – one from The Real and one from The Talk – which showed pundits throwing support behind Britney Spears in the family feud. Adrienne Bailon had many choice words for Jamie Lynn, whose memoir she claimed was “for profit.” She added that if Jamie Lynn really wanted to make sisterly amends, it should have been done in private and not in the public arena. In Britney Spears’ post on the matter, she said she was “shocked” that more people like Bailon “aren't telling it like it is.” She continued, addressing her sister:

In case you missed the reference, Alexa Nikolas also starred alongside Jamie Lynn Spears on Zoey 101, as the character Nicole. In her memoir, Spears accused her former co-star of spreading rumors about her smelling bad, which Nicholas responded to on her Instagram, saying that the book is “lying up a storm” and she wanted “absolutely nothing to do with it.” Likewise, Britney Spears’ former manager Sam Lufti has claimed on Twitter that Jamie Lynn lied in her book about him as well and threatened a potential lawsuit against her.

Jamie Lynn Spears’ memoir is, clearly, kicking up a lot of past issues -- and it doesn't look as though it will help her and Britney Spears get together to braid each other's hair anytime soon. However, it would be interesting to see what Britney would say in her own memoir, given what her social media posts tend to reveal.

The public disagreement between Britney Spears and her younger sister, Jamie Lynn, has been going strong since last summer. How Britney Spears Has Involved Lawyers In Her Feud With Jamie Lynn Spears 

Jamie Lynn Spears, who’s set to return to the small screen in Netflix’s Sweet Magnolias in early February, recently released her new memoir, Things I Should Have Said. While her older sister has already made it pretty clear that she doesn’t like the idea of Jamie Lynn talking about her in the book, Britney Spears has sent her sibling a cease and desist letter (which was dated January 17) over the tome. In the letter, which was obtained by Variety, Spears’ attorney, Mathew Rosengart, explained why the singer took such action against her sister:

The younger Spears has been on a press tour in order to promote her book, and has both said in interviews and revealed in that memoir many things which have angered Britney. It was just yesterday, in fact, that the first part of Jamie Lynn’s appearance on the Call Her Daddy podcast was released, where she detailed how “sad” she reportedly was over Britney’s messy breakup with Justin Timberlake. But, the newly freed pop icon took to her Instagram last night to refute that claim, saying that her sister was “on the couch watching her tv shows right after Justin and I broke up…I was a ghost there.”

Jamie Lynn has also detailed many supposed experiences from their childhood, including an alleged incident where Britney Spears locked herself and her sister in a room while holding a knife. That led to Britney calling Jamie Lynn “a scum person” on Twitter, and Jamie Lynn them taking to her own social media to ask her sibling to call her so that they can hash things out in private.

After noting in the cease and desist letter that Jamie Lynn Spears is aware of the “wrongdoing” her sister suffered while under her conservatorship (which ended in November), Roengart continued:

Apparently, from what the outlet’s sources say, Jamie Lynn Spears received the cease and desist letter directly, instead of it going to her legal team. Time will tell if she refrains from speaking about Britney Spears while promoting her book, but one thing seems rather obvious at this point, and that’s the fact that it will probably be a long time before these sisters can come to any real agreements in their broken relationship. 

It’s pretty clear by now that Britney Spears and her younger sister, Jamie Lynn Spears, are really going to have to do some work if they want to repair their fractured sibling bond. Ever since the pop star spoke out against her conservatorship in court last summer, it became more and more obvious that she blamed the bulk of her immediate family for the horrible treatment she reportedly suffered under that court order, which she was finally released from in November after about 13 years. The public fight between Britney and her sister has only grown recently, but now Jamie Lynn has offered sympathy to Britney over her breakup with Justin Timberlake.

How Jamie Lynn Spears Felt About Britney Spears And Justin Timberlake Breaking Up

Jamie Lynn Spears has been making the rounds for several days now, to promote her newly released memoir, Things I Should Have Said, and in a recent chat with the Call Her Daddy podcast, spoke a lot about growing up in her family and how things changed as Britney became famous. Spears was asked how Britney’s breakup with Justin Timberlake affected her, and the Sweet Magnolias actress answered: 

One thing is for sure, and that is that no one outside of a relationship really knows much about the inner workings of a particular pairing, as sometimes even those within the romance are in the dark about certain aspects of it. So, Spears is probably correct that the extent of whatever happened would have been kept between Timberlake and her sister, not just because this is how it usually is, but also because she (at 10 years her junior) was still very young.

As Spears noted, she wasn’t the only one who’d had high hopes for the romance, as it did seem to be a celebrity coupling that was basically meant-to-be to a number of fans. Unfortunately, Spears noted just how attached she was to not just her sister dating Timberlake, but to him in general. In her book she actually calls Timberlake “one of the first healthy, male father figures” in her life, because “he was pretty thoughtful” and also “really funny,” which was a big change from life with their alcoholic father, and their parents’ “tumultuous” relationship.

How Jamie Lynn Spears Looks At Their Breakup Now

Of course, that breakup and the “Cry Me a River” shockwaves from it are still being discussed nearly 20 full years later, mostly because of the negative impact it had on Britney Spears life, while Timberlake seemed to be the totally wronged party who only garnered more and more sympathy and hit records (to the point where he felt the need to publicly apologize to Spears in 2021). After noting how her sister was held to a different standard when all of the cheating rumors (which Britney Spears seems to sing about in her 2004 single, “Everytime”) started, the younger Spears said:

While the whole situation surrounding Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake’s breakup is unfortunate on many levels, hopefully Jamie Lynn Spears opening up on her feelings about it will offer the sisters some common ground on which they can finally begin to grow closer again.

It’s been clear that Britney Spears has trust issues with the members of her family, as she’s said she felt the “people closest” to her abandoned her during the 13-year conservatorship, which she has compared to "sex trafficking" and said the restrictions she was under included not being allowed to drink wine or perform new music. The “Baby One More Time” singer continued to talk to her sister via Twitter after her initial reaction to hearing her sister's knife story:

There’s no doubt the release of Jamie Lynn Spears’ book is a sore spot for Britney Spears. She’s trolled her sister for months over the book, particularly when the title was changed from I Must Confess: Family, Fame and Figuring It Out to Things I Should Have Said. It’s sad to see what’s become of Britney and Jamie Lynn Spears’ relationship, and only time will tell if they are able to work through the events of the past that tore them apart.

Britney Spears has been free from her conservatorship for several weeks now, and the pop star has continued to make it clear that she holds much of her family accountable for the terrible treatment she says she suffered during that 13-year court order. This includes her younger sister, Jamie Lynn Spears, whom Britney has been feuding with on and off, rather publicly, via social media for months. Now, Jamie Lynn has tearfully spoken out about the rift with Britney for the first time, saying that she “doesn’t know why we’re in this position right now.”

Jamie Lynn Spears, who’s set to return to the small screen in Sweet Magnolias Season 2 on Netflix soon, has gotten a lot of shade from the #FreeBritney movement for quite a while now, but it wasn’t until her older sister, Britney Spears, publicly began to do the same on Instagram, that many people truly understood how angry the singer was at her sibling. Jamie Lynn recently spoke to Good Morning America about the situation, and said that she loves and supports Britney, adding to that sentiment, which you can see in this clip from the interview:

In mid-July, Britney Spears detailed the way in which she felt the “people closest” to her left her “drowning” under a conservatorship she had likened to “sex-trafficking,” and noted that she believed any of them who showed public support after she spoke out against the conservatorship were only trying to “save face.” Around the same time, Jamie Lynn took to her social media to deny that she’d claimed a vacation property that her older sibling had bought many years earlier as her own, but after Britney’s fans came for her she removed her denial, and that set off the public fight between the sisters.

Jamie Lynn Spears went further in her GMA interview, which was done to promote the January 18 release of her new memoir, Things I Should Have Said, and added that she “was happy” when the conservatorship ended in November, and tried to explain her thoughts on the court order over the years:

Fans will likely remember that the book Jamie Lynn is now promoting caused a stir of its own last year. The original title for her memoir, I Must Confess: Family, Fame and Figuring It Out, was announced back in early July, but mid-October saw Jamie Lynn tell her followers that the title had been changed to Things I Should Have Said. This swap led to Britney appearing to troll her sister over it on social media. Just a few days later, after the singer’s many fans realized that Jamie Lynn had promised proceeds from her book to a mental health charity, they flooded the charity’s Instagram by commenting on posts with #CancelJamieLynnSpears and #FreeBritney, and the charity then declined her donation.

As for why she’s decided to speak about her relationship with Britney Spears now, Jamie Lynn Spears said that it was, in part, about her own daughters, Maddie (13), and Ivey (3), and noted:

Time will tell whether or not speaking out will help to heal the rift between Britney Spears and Jamie Lynn Spears, or if the sisters will be able to repair their relationship in spite of it and everything else that’s transpired over the years.

Britney Spears’ conservatorship has been heavily debated for almost a year now. Even though more and more information about it became public knowledge, questions continued to linger as to how and why the pop singer was still in the thick of it after 13 years. Her fans pushed the “Free Britney” movement, in an effort to change the situation, even going so far as to spam the likes of Kim Kardashian and Paris Hilton. Well, the day of true freedom has finally come. Following her official release from the conservatorship, Spears had a direct message to those fans who helped make it possible.

During a court hearing yesterday, the judge ruled that the conservatorship in question was “no longer required” (via NPR). At the time, Britney Spears, with a little help from her fiancé Sam Asghari, gave a shout out to the Free Britney movement by wearing a t-shirt with those words over it and also said it was “a human rights movement.” But she was little more personal about it today. On her Instagram, she wrote in response to the major news:

Massive Legal Developments Led Up To Britney Spears' Release From The Conservatorship

Several important events have contributed to the conservatorship’s final conclusion. First, in August, the singer was able to replace her court-appointed lawyer with someone she believed would advocate in her interest: Mathew Rosengart, who is now currently working for Facebook's Mark Zuckerberg. From there, gained back personal freedoms like the ability to drive by herself again, and she also proceeded to be more vocal on social media.

But the changing of the legal guard also made major headway concerning the validity of the entire conservatorship. Her father, Jamie Spears, was suspended permanently from his former co-conservator position, after it was alleged by the new counsel that they would be going after him for possibly exhorting his daughter. Just prior to, her dad had actually filed for the conservatorship to end entirely. That ultimately became a reality, and you can see Britney Spears’ video of the fans outside the recent court hearing below:

Framing Britney Spears And Other Documentaries Have Also Shed Light On The Situation

All the major legal developments in the case were first precipitated by several documentaries shedding light on her struggle. The first of which, Framing Britney Spears from the New York Times, presented in February that the Spears family was financially (and therefore unethically) benefiting from the conservatorship. The company followed it up with Controlling Britney Spears in September, which added allegations, such as that the performer's bedroom was bugged by her security team and father. CNN also released a special on the ramifications of the legal battle, while Netflix’s Britney vs Spears suggested that efforts to change the situation were continually thwarted by her father.

Conflicts Within The Spears Family Have Also Resulted From The Conservatorship Battle

The “Oops, I Did It Again” singer is officially free from her conservatorship, but it clearly still had an effect on her familial relationships and likely won't go away anytime soon. On her social media, Britney Spears had previously slammed her family for leaving her “drowning” in the legal situation. Later, her accusations got more pointed, starting first with her sister, Jamie Lynn, and then her mother, the latter of whom she claimed had more of an orchestrating hand in the conservatorship than was previously believed. Lynne Spears has since requested money for legal bills from the conservatorship, which she seemingly won’t be getting now.

What a difference a year makes, eh? Britney Spears will likely be celebrating for a little now and can hopefully move on, in whatever way she feels best.

The drama appears to have kickstarted after Britney Spears’ legions of fans caught wind of Jamie Lynn Spears promising proceeds of her upcoming biography to a mental health charity, This Is My Brave. Britney herself shaded the book on social media and then, on the charity’s Instagram, many of its posts became flooded with the “Free Britney” and “Cancel Jamie Lynn Spears” hashtags. The fans vocalized that accepting a donation from someone who allegedly wasn't looking after Britney Spears’ mental health amidst the conservatorship was akin to hypocrisy. The organization took the criticisms seriously and announced via Instagram that they were “taking action” and “declining the donation” after all.

Jamie Lynn Spears’ new book, Things I Should Have Said, supposedly describes her own struggles as a teen mom and growing up in the Spears family. And apparently, the charity’s donation reversal was like a slap in the face as a result. A source conveyed to People,

The source alleged that Jamie Lynn Spears has “suffered abuses” like her sister Britney and has been “dealing with mental health issues for the better half of her life.” They continued that by the charity rescinding the donation acceptance, they were reinforcing Jamie’s “entire trauma” and essentially saying ”that her story doesn't matter.”

The donation debacle is just the latest in the increasingly escalating feud between the two Spears sisters. Months ago, Britney Spears in fact called out those “closest” to her for leaving her “drowning” in the conservatorship. Jamie Lynn Spears' own culpability was called into question when it came to light that she might have benefited financially from her sister’s conservatorship.

Before the charity declined Jamie Lynn Spears’ book proceeds for a donation, Britney Spears got pretty candid about her own mental health on social media. She explained that she lived in fear of making a mistake if the conservatorship did come to an end. She also blasted the legality of it all in the United States as a “shame.” But concerning her family, she seemingly hinted at doing her own tell-all, saying,

Amidst Jamie Lynn and Britney Spears’ disagreements, the conservatorship itself has been winding down. Their father has been permanently suspended as conservator and Britney is getting more and more freedoms back. (Like driving herself and getting engaged to boyfriend Sam Asghari.) However, it doesn't appear as though sisterly affection will be smoothed over quite as easily just yet.

I don’t think most people can deny, now, that Britney Spears has had it pretty tough for many years. While a lot of us can count on family to help us out in difficult times, it’s become very clear that the pop star certainly does not believe that to be true in her case, with her even coming out and blaming the “people closest” to her for leaving her “drowning” under her conservatorship for 13 years. With Spears now speaking out as much as possible, it’s meant that she’s also been throwing serious shade at her younger sister, Jamie Lynn Spears. Now it looks like Britney’s trolling her sister’s book deal, and I’m totally here for it.

I’m particularly fond of the fact that the pop icon didn’t lead off by talking about the book, and, in fact, even after she does, unless you’ve been keeping up with the drama between her and Jamie Lynn, you might assume all she was really doing is throwing out rather odd potential names for an actual book of her own. Sure, we don’t know for an absolute fact that Britney isn’t doing that, but considering her current, less than cool, relationship with Jamie Lynn and how well she knows social media, it’s unlikely, and I’m not mad at the move.

If you’ve paid even the slightest bit of attention to Britney Spears' life in the past couple of years, you will know that she has an extremely dedicated fanbase, many of whom have started and continued the #FreeBritney movement to try and help her get out of her conservatorship. As such, Britney stans pay very close attention to everything she and any members of her family might do or say on social media. 

Spears knows this, and even showed the movement a lot of love in a recent post, so she realizes that they’d be able to put a potential two-and-two together here. The problem with Jamie Lynn’s book began shortly after it was announced in July with the original title, because Britney’s fans jumped on the fact that “I must confess” is a lyric from her first hit, “…Baby One More Time,” and wasted no time in criticizing Jamie Lynn for it in light of the songstress speaking out against her conservatorship in court (with very strong allegations) for the first time just days earlier.

The pop legend’s second possible book title, “I really care what people think,” seems to say it all when it comes to how Britney Spears feels about Jamie Lynn, so it doesn’t appear that these siblings will be able to mend fences, questionable memoir title or not, any time soon. And, considering how much Spears feels she's been through with her family, that’s completely understandable.

Even if you weren't as surprised as so many people were a few weeks ago when Britney Spears spoke in court about her conservatorship and compared it "sex trafficking" among other horrible claims, you will probably still be shocked at what's been going on with the embattled singer and her little sister. Spears now has more control over her Instagram account and, earlier this month, called out those she “loves the most” for only showing support for her now, when the public finally knows what she's been allegedly going through. This has caused a string of posts aimed at one another between the sisters, with Jamie Lynn editing several captions (via BuzzFeed) once her older sibling responds. Now, it's happened again.

One of the things the public has begun to wonder about in recent weeks is who, exactly, in Spears' family benefits from her conservatorship, aside from her father. Jamie Lynn Spears opened up on her own Instagram account, denying allegations that she has claimed to own a large condo in Florida that was actually bought with Britney Spears' money, in a caption on a series of photos showing her family on vacation. But, after Britney's fans called her out, Jamie Lynn edited her caption to remove the denial.

So, why would Jamie Lynn Spears remove her denial that she claims as her own / benefits from any property that her elder sister paid for? Well, it would seem that the Sweet Magnolias Season 1 cast member has made references to this particular home in the past on social media, with #FreeBritney fans pointing out that she's previously said it was hers or belonged to the Spears brood as a unit.

According to The Sun, tax records that note Britney Spears bought a Destin, FL condo in 2001 with her own money, well before the conservatorship was in place. Seeing as how the outlet could find no similar records that list any property in the area under Jamie Lynn Spears' name, it's likely that the condo owned by Britney is the same one that Jamie Lynn has referred to over the years.

So, despite her original Instagram assertion that she doesn’t "own a condo, and I can assure you that no one has ever bought me a place at the beach, because I prefer my beach vacations at the Ritz anyway," it does sound a lot like Jamie Lynn Spears has at least benefited from Britney Spears' purchase over the years, if not outright taken it over for her own use.

Now, Netflix's Sweet Magnolias Season 2 is finally gaining some momentum, with the arrival of new series regulars and a release window!

Get ready to celebrate a Sweet Magnolias success with your chips, dips, and margs, because according to Deadline, Season 2 of the romantic drama is currently in production and eyeing a 2022 premiere. With that news, comes more glad tidings, as three of the players from Season 1 who had smaller parts will now become regulars in the Sweet Magnolias cast. Brandon Quinn (Ronnie Sullivan), Dion Johnstone (Erik Whitley), and Jamie Lynn Spears (Noreen Fitzgibbons) have all signed on to show up around the small town of Serenity, South Carolina a lot more frequently.

Seeing as how it's been nearly a year since Sweet Magnolias debuted, you might not quite remember who these characters are and what kind of role they played in Season 1, but, let me assure you, all of them returning for larger parts in the new set of episodes could mean some very big things for the series.

Noreen is the mistress of Maddie's ex-husband, Bill. He cheated on Maddie with the much younger woman, who was a nurse at his medical practice, got her pregnant, left Maddie and became engaged to Noreen. But, Bill is basically trash, and while it took Noreen some time to see it, she did finally notice how he treated her and one of his sons with Maddie, Kyle (whom Noreen had befriended), and decided to leave Serenity and Bill behind before the season's end. It never felt like that was going to be a permanent solution to Noreen's storyline, so it will be good to see her return. Especially with Kyle getting into more than a bit of trouble in the finale.

Now, if you don't remember Erik, well, I think you may not have paid full attention to Sweet Magnolias Season 1, because he made quite an impression during his, relatively few, times on screen. This series is nothing without its romantic complications, and Erik (who's the sous chef at Dana Sue's restaurant), spent all season harboring a mean crush on Helen. As you might recall, though, Helen quickly fell back in with her on-again, off-again ex-boyfriend of over 20 years, Ryan, when he rolled back into town suddenly, and even though Helen liked Erik, she only saw him as a friend. By the finale, though, Helen and Ryan had broken each other's hearts all over again, and she and Erik were growing closer than ever.

As for Ronnie, while I'm glad he'll be around a lot more in Sweet Magnolias Season 2, I do worry about what this means for Dana Sue and farmer Jeremy. Ronnie is Dana Sue's estranged husband (and father to her daughter, Annie), who returned unexpectedly in the Season 1 finale. It was abundantly clear that Ronnie and Dana Sue still had the hot hots for one another (though it seems he cheated on her), and with her now needing financial help with her restaurant, and him being willing to pitch in, it makes sense that he'd stick around. But! After a season filled with disappointments, Dana Sue had just found potential romance with Jeremy, so we can probably bet that Ronnie's return will muck that up, at least for a time.

Basically, we are guaranteed more dramatic romantic entanglements and strained family dynamics just with these three characters coming back full time for Sweet Magnolias Season 2, so the wait might be long, but it will be worth it! Actress Jamie Lynn Spears had the internet all sorts of confused recently after she publicly went after Elon Musk for the deaths of an untold number of her cats. Now, the actress is clarifying her original statement and assuring fans that while she still has some valid gripes, the first statement may need some things expounded upon.

In a since-expired Instagram Story, the Sweet Magnolias actress better explained her argument with how Tesla vehicles are dangerous to the lives of cats and other animals. She also conceded that it's not entirely the car or Elon Musk's fault that she keeps losing cats to Tesla's, as well as some other key points:

Perhaps the most important point clarified for me was that Jamie Lynn Spears did not run over any cats because the original post had me really wondering just how many times someone can accidentally back over a cat. Overall, it sounds like Spears was more or less calling attention to a legitimate issue to Tesla makers about animal safety. She wouldn't be the first either, as government regulations have required Tesla to now release models that emit noise at low speeds to warn pedestrians and animals.

Jamie Lynn Spears' amended statement is much better than the original statement. Spears has since deleted the video from her social media platforms but, as we all know, nothing is ever permanently deleted from the internet.

Jamie Lynn Spears didn't get a ton of sympathy for her post on social media, as memes began to surface that she was pointing the finger at Tesla for the deaths of many of her cats instead of at herself. It seemed the implication in the original video was that Spears was hitting her own cats with a Tesla though, as Spears went on to clarify in her follow-up, she was not the one who hit the cats. She also pointed out she may need to keep a closer eye on her cats, which may be why she still hasn't clarified how many cats were claimed in these accidents. Obviously, we know the number is at least one, but how much further does that number climb?

Throughout Sweet Magnolias Season 1, Maddie finds herself again and starts to fall for her son’s baseball coach. Many will remember JoAnna Garcia Swisher for her role as Sam in Nickelodeon’s original horror anthology series Are You Afraid Of The Dark?

Garcia-Swisher’s next big TV role was in 2001, appearing opposite Reba McEntire in Reba. Her next main TV role came in 2008 on the short-lived CW series Privileged, while some fans might recognize her for playing Ariel in Once Upon a Time. Throughout her career, she has had recurring roles in the series Party of Five, Freaks and Geeks, Gossip Girl, The Mindy Project, and Royal Pains. JoAnna Garcia Swisher has also appeared in the movies American Pie 2, Not Another Teen Movie, Revenge of the Bridesmaids, The Internship, and Fist Fight.

Brooke Elliott (Dana Sue Sullivan)

Dana Sue runs a successful restaurant. Though her career is thriving, her love life has had a bit of a rollercoaster run lately, seeing as how she is no longer with her husband--likely due to an affair on his part. Dana Sue gets a new love interest during Sweet Magnolias Season 1, but then her handsome ex-husband re-enters her life. Brooke Elliott has a theater background, so if you’ve been to Taboo, one of the touring productions of Wicked, The Pirate Queen, or Beauty and the Beast, then you may have seen her on-stage.

Elliott may be most known for her role on Drop Dead Diva, where she played the main character, Jane Bingum, from 2009 to 2014. The actress also appeared on episodes of Law & Order: Trial by Jury and Dolly Parton’s Heartstrings. She also lent her talents to the movies What Women Want and More Beautiful for Having Been Broken.

Heather Headley (Helen Decatur)

Helen once left Serenity but has come back and become the town lawyer, and one of its biggest cheerleaders. Just as she’s settling in, someone from her past shows up and makes her really think about what she wants from life. Heather Headley is a well-known, talented, and respected singer and Broadway performer. She has earned both Grammy Awards and Tony Awards for her music and acting. Headley has appeared in Broadway productions of The Lion King, Aida, Dreamgirls, The Bodyguard, and The Color Purple.

Headley’s screen acting credits include Dirty Dancing: Havana Nights, Breakin’ All the Rules, She’s Gotta Have It (the Netflix series), and Chicago Med. In 2021, she’ll appear in the Aretha Franklin biopic Respect.

Justin Bruening (Cal Maddox)

Cal Maddox is new to Serenity, and he has moved to the small-town to coach their high school baseball team. Immediately, he forms a bond with Maddie that turns to romance. Soap opera and, specifically, All My Children fans will recognize Bruening for his role as Jamie Martin, which he played from 2003 to 2007, and also made some guest appearances in 2011. Bruening’s TV roles also include episodes of Cold Case, CSI: Miami, Castle, Lucifer, and CSI: NY.

Briefly, Bruening became Knight Rider on the NBC reboot series. He also had recurring roles on the series Switched at Birth, Ringer, Grey’s Anatomy, Hawaii Five-O, Ravenswood, and Good Behavior.

Chris Klein (Bill Townsend)

Bill Townsend, better known as the worst character on Sweet Magnolias, is Maddie’s ex-husband, who cheated on her with his assistant. He’s a family physician, but clueless about his family, girlfriend, and ex-wife.

Chris Klein may best be known for his role in the American Pie films. Klein appeared in a string of popular films in the late 1990s and early 2000s, like Election, Here on Earth, We Were Soldiers, The United States of Leland, and Just Friends. He's also had roles in the series Raising Hope, The Grinder, and The Good Guys, and nabbed recurring roles on Winfred and The Flash.

Jamie Lynn Spears (Noreen Fitzgibbons)

Noreen is the former mistress / soon-to-be wife of Bill. She wants to be accepted by the town and her new family so much that she often goes too far to fit into Serenity and Bill’s family. Jamie Lynn Spears is best known for appearing on the Nickelodeon sketch comedy show All That. She then took on the lead role in Zoey 101 from 2005 to 2008.

Spears also appeared in the shows Just Jordan, Miss Guided, and the movie Crossroads.

Dion Johnstone (Erik Whitley)

Erik is a sous chef at Dana Sue’s restaurant, who’s keeping a lot of secrets about his past. He also starts to form a bond with Helen. Dion Johnstone has appeared in the series Departure, Star Falls, Ties That Bind, Stargate SG-1, and Monk. He also showed up in the films Josie and the Pussycats, and A Family Christmas Gift.

Carson Rowland (Ty Townsend)

Ty is the eldest son of Bill and Maddie, who is a popular student and a star of his high school baseball team. He’s best friends with Annie (Anneliese Judge), but has no clue that she harbors a crush on him.

Carson Rowland had a lead role on the Nickelodeon series I Am Frankie, which aired from 2017 to 2018. Rowland had a recurring role on American Housewife, and he appeared in the films Santa in Training, Sinister Seduction, and Dream Killer.

Anneliese Judge (Annie Sullivan)

Annie is Ronnie (Brandon Quinn) and Dana Sue’s daughter. She has a crush on Ty, but he just sees her as a friend. Anneliese Judge is fairly new to acting. She’s only appeared in one major thing besides Sweet Magnolias, a horror movie called Where’s Rose, which hasn’t been released yet.

Logan Allen (Kyle Townsend)

Kyle is Bill and Maddie’s youngest son, who also happens to have a secret crush on Annie, and is much nerdier than his older brother Ty. Logan Allen has appeared on episodes of Creepshow and Talia in the Kitchen. He was also in the film Bernie The Dolphin, and its sequel.

Brandon Quinn (Ronnie Sullivan)

Ronnie is Dana Sue’s ex-husband and Annie’s father. He only appears in one episode of Sweet Magnolias Season 1, but I suspect that he may play a bigger role in Sweet Magnolias Season 2. Brandon Quinn got his start on the ABC Family series Big Wolf on Campus. He then appeared on episodes of The Nightmare Room, What I Like About You, Drake & Josh, Reba, Charmed, Knight Rider, The Vampire Diaries, and Bones.

He had recurring guest roles on The O.C, Entourage, Kevin (Probably) Saves the World, Rebel, Die Hart, and The Fosters.

Once upon a time, the Twilight film franchise was just a twinkle in the eye of Hollywood. Before the roles went to Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart (now lovingly known as a R-Patz and K-Stew) and the films became a monstrous hit on the big screen, a lot of famous actors were almost cast in the central roles including Jamie Lynn Spears of Zoey 101.

Did you know Henry Cavill was Stephenie Meyer’s first choice for Edward Cullen? Jennifer Lawrence was also a contender for Bella Swan too, but ended up playing Katniss Everdeen in The Hunger Games a few years later instead. Jamie Lynn Spears recently admitted she was in the room for a Twilight opportunity, but she was not interested at all. For a couple reasons. In her words:

Keep in mind the younger sister of Britney Spears was 16 at the time. She had just wrapped her four-season role on Nickelodeon’s Zoey 101 and her managers were pushing for her to keep her fame train going. She found herself in the audition room for Catherine Hardwicke’s Twilight just shortly before the actress would make headlines for her teen pregnancy.

Auditioning for Twilight does not sound like it was not a good time for the young actress and she didn’t connect with the material either. This is interesting insight to hear from Jamie Lynn Spears over a decade later, per her Nylon interview, because it shows how teen actors haven’t always had a say in the roles they’ve been considered for.

We’re not sure what Jamie Lynn Spears was auditioning for, but considering an 18-year-old Lily Collins of Emily in Paris was sitting next to her, it could very well have been for Bella. Collins has previously said trying out to play Edward’s better half in Twilight was one of her first auditions ever. By my eye, Jamie Lynn Spears would have fit best as Rosalie Hale, Edward’s feisty sister.

Of course, it’s all water under the bridge now. Twilight was expertly cast, with its main stars having so much oozing chemistry that they were an item during much of the franchise’s production. And Jamie Lynn Spears had time away from the spotlight to raise her daughter Maddie, who is now in seventh grade. Spears recently returned to acting to play Noreen in Netflix’s Sweet Magnolias, who she could personally relate to.

Man, time sure does fly. It was way back in 2008 when a then 16-year-old Jamie Lynn Spears had to end her four-year run as the star of Nickelodeon's acclaimed Zoey 101 because she was pregnant with her first child. Her teen pregnancy was the talk of Hollywood, and Spears quickly felt the need to retreat to her hometown of Kentwood, Louisiana to get away from as much of the gossip and tabloid scrutiny as possible. Now, the 29-year-old has returned to the spotlight in the Netflix drama Sweet Magnolias, and she's been able to bring some of her personal experience to her role.

Sweet Magnolias follows three best friends, Maddie (JoAnna Garcia), Dana Sue (Brooke Elliott) and Helen (Heather Headley) as they navigate romance, their careers and families in their small South Carolina town. When the show begins, Maddie's doctor husband, Bill (Chris Klein), has already left her and their three children for his much younger nurse, Noreen (Spears), who's currently several months pregnant with their child. And, as you might imagine, their small town is abuzz with gossip over the affair and looking at the trio closely for any signs of drama that could be gabbed about.

Obviously, Jamie Lynn Spears knows quite a bit about having people gossip about you when you're pregnant, so she was able to bring some of her real life knowledge to her role as Noreen on Sweet Magnolias. Spears spoke with The Hollywood Reporter recently about her return to television, and had this to say about what it was like to act again, and how she used her history to inform her work as Noreen:

Considering all the mistakes and bad decisions that Noreen has made, it would be very easy for Sweet Magnolias to have set Noreen as a villain, and for Jamie Lynn Spears to play her as one. Instead, it's pretty clear from the beginning that Noreen is someone who generally has the best of intentions, and really just managed to, somehow, get in way over her head with Bill. And, if there is any true bad guy in that situation, it's definitely him.

As Jamie Lynn Spears noted during her interview, now that Bill has left his family for Noreen, she's trying very hard to make the best of a very bad situation, and, as Season 1 goes on, it's not hard to actually feel a bit bad for her. She's doing everything she can to mend fences with what will soon be her step children, but it doesn't always work out too well for her. And, even though Maddie has managed to be civil to Noreen, the rest of the town isn't so kind.

Spears also said that she really understood Noreen's desire to try to look toward the future hopefully, even in the face of some tough obstacles, because it's all about doing what's best for your baby:

If you ask me, Jamie Lynn Spears did a wonderful job of working all of her real experiences into her part as Noreen and succeeded in making her way more than another version of "the other woman" stereotype. After some reports about an accident involving Jamie Lynn Spears' daughter Maddie Aldridge over the weekend, the local police are now filling us in on all the details about what went down.

According to the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff's Office via Fox News, Maddie Aldridge was driving an ATV around her parents' rural property in Louisiana on Sunday when she and the ATV unwittingly ended up in a pond. She was trapped by her seatbelt as she and the ATV began to sink into the water, where she was submerged until an ambulance arrived to pull her out. The ambulance was called quickly by family members who were nearby when the accident occurred --- they tried to save Aldridge themselves but couldn't free her from her seatbelt and the netting on the ATV. Thankfully, the sheriff's department is reporting that the child is in a stable condition, although it is still critical.

Jamie Lynn Spears' publicist also gave a statement on behalf of the singer and actress, saying that she is asking for privacy during this heartbreaking time and that she is thankful for any prayers or support. Her big sister Britney Spears is sending a lot of love to Maddie as well, and asked her fans to keep her niece in their prayers and wishes in an Instagram post on Monday.

Jamie Lynn Spears gave birth to her daughter Maddie at the age of 16, when she was still starring on the Nickelodeon show Zoey 101. The pregnancy became a subject of huge paparazzi interest, given Spears' young age and her title role in a squeaky-clean teen soap series. A few months before Spears gave birth to Maddie in the summer of 2008, she and Maddie's father Casey Aldridge got engaged, but less than two years later they called off the engagement and broke up.

Jamie Lynn Spears began dating businessman Jamie Watson soon afterwards, and the two are now married and raising Maddie together. Clearly, the family is a huge fan of the outdoors, as both Spears and Watson will post tons of photos of themselves fishing and hunting with Maddie. And it looks like Maddie has had some experience on an ATV before the accident this weekend --- Watson posted a sweet pic of the eight-year-old driving around her mom in an ATV on Thanksgiving.

Hopefully Maddie Aldridge will be making a full recovery so she can get back to having fun with her family very soon.

It was reported earlier that Jamie Lynn Spears' daughter Maddie Aldridge was in an ATV accident. Since then, an update on her condition has also been reported. The 8-year-old girl was said to be in an off-road vehicle this past weekend, when it flipped over and sent her into the water. The situation has been described as "extremely serious" and it doesn't sound like she's out of the woods yet.

The update on the situation comes from TMZ, who's reporting that sources say Maddie Aldridge is in "critical but stable condition."

That's the latest on her condition so far, from what we've seen. Now for what was previously reported, some of which may not actually be entirely accurate.

According to TMZ's earlier report, young Maddie was on an ATV when it flipped over and sent her into the water. The site's sources says she was under water for several minutes and unconscious when she was airlifted to a nearby hospital. Their sources also say that Jamie Lynn was not with Maddie when this accident happened, and that Maddie was apparently on a hunting expedition at the time.

After that information circulated, Us Weekly posted an update citing a Spears family rep who released the following statement.

It's unclear exactly which of the reported details related to the event are inaccurate. Possibly most of them, though the rep doesn't elaborate. Hunting does seem like a pastime that Maddie Aldridge and her mother might have participated in in the past. Among the photos on Jamie Lynn Spears' Instagram feed is this one from November 2016, captioned "Somewhere in a duck blind."

So, we don't know for sure what exactly happened at this point, but from the statement, it does sound like the Spears family is going through something very serious, potentially involving young Maddie.

TMZ's most recent report is the one that states she's in stable condition, and hopefully at least that much is true, but there's no word on whether or not the child has regained consciousness. Let's hope we'll hear some positive word on the situation soon.

Then, it all fell apart, with the elder Spears system having a breakdown and having to be placed under a conservatorship and the younger Spears sister getting pregnant. Almost a decade later, Jamie Lynn Spears is trying to make a TV comeback with a Lifetime special.

Jamie Lynn Spears: When The Lights Go Out is set to follow a decade in the life of the singer and actress. The Lifetime special will go through the story of her becoming pregnant at 16 and becoming a teen mom after her daughter Maddie was born. It will also discuss her move to Nashville and her attempts to start a country music career in more recent years. The special will also feature Jamie Lynn Spears' big performance at the Grand Ole Opry earlier this year and the special guests who appeared. TLC has had some success with this sort of documentary-type of reality programming in recent years. The network memorably used this basic storytelling format to bring back some of the Duggar sisters following the cancellation of 19 Kids and Counting. The special is unlikely to make such an impact that Jamie Lynn Spears will be able to pick up exactly where she left off before she accidentally got pregnant, but there’s a more important message that Jamie Lynn Spears seems to want to get across: She’s not just the things that Hollywood see her as:

In the time since Jamie Lynn Spears left Zoey 101 and had a baby, she moved to Nashville, put out an album called The Journey and married Jamie Watson, who owns a communications service. Her daughter is also adorable in the trailer for the special. Things seem to be going pretty well for the younger Spears sibling, but it’s unlikely that where’s she’s at now is where she envisioned she would be when her face was plastered all over billboards and she was an up and coming teenaged star. Britney Spears approves of her sister Jamie Lynn’s engagement, or, at the very least, she’s decided to stand by her sibling and be optimistic about the whole thing. That’s the message to take away from the beloved singer’s public response to her twenty-one-year-old sister’s decision to marry her thirty-year-old boyfriend of three years.

The news of Jamie Lynn’s engagement comes just weeks after Spears ended her longtime engagement to fiancé Jason Trawick. Those two reportedly separated because Spears was interested in having more kids and her partner was not.
