There have been all kinds of different eras throughout WWE’s history. The New Generation, the Attitude Era, the Ruthless Aggression phase, the PG-TV days, and others quickly come to mind. But one that is thankfully mostly forgotten these days is the WWE Raw Celebrity Host era between 2009 and 2014. Celebrity involvement in WWE has always been a thing going back to WrestleMania 1, but the company went overboard over a decade ago, and so many random names hosted or appeared on the flagship show.

Bob Barker - September 7, 2009

In addition to being one of the best game show hosts of all time, the late Bob Barker was also one of the most unforgettable Raw hosts. Appearing on a September 2009 episode, the The Price is Right legend held a WWE-themed version of the show, which included an appearance from the villainous Irwin R. Schyster.

William Shatner - February 1, 2010

William Shatner has had multiple appearances on Raw over the years (his 1995 run-in with Jerry “The King” Lawler is hilarious), so it only made sense for the Star Trek icon to host WWE’s flagship show in February 2010. Captain Kirk singing WWE superstars’ entrance themes was not what anyone expected, but it was still wild and low-key great.

Pee-Wee Herman - November 1, 2010

Pee-Wee Herman, aka the late Paul Reubens, hosted Monday Night Raw back in November 2010 when the weekly show was broadcast from the iconic Nassau Coliseum in Long Island, New York. Herman had some great run-ins throughout the night and was even paired up with Big Show, who was dressed up like the beloved character.

Shaquille O’Neal famously showed up in the 3rd Annual Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal at WrestleMania 32, but that wasn’t his first time in WWE. Back in 2009, when he was still playing basketball, Shaq appeared on Raw and had a hilarious interaction with Chris Jericho. Seriously, Y2J looks like a child next to the Pro Basketball Hall of Famer.

The Muppets and WWE are two things you probably never thought you’d see together. Well, that happened in October 2011 when beloved characters like Kermit the Frog, Miss Piggy, Fozzie Bear, and Beaker (his run-in with Sheamus is hilarious) all showed up on the Raw Supershow.

Kevin Hart, who was in the middle of his unprecedented rise to the top of the pop culture mountain, appeared on Monday Night Raw in June 2014. He made jokes, he got in the ring, and he hung out with Adam Rose and his Rosebuds. It was a strange time in WWE, and this was one of the wildest moments of that summer.

The Three Stooges - April 9, 2012

The Three Stooges, or the versions played by Will Sasso, Sean Hayes, and Chris Diamantopoulos in the 2012 comedy inspired by the classic comedy trio, showed up on Monday Night Raw to promote the Farrelly Brothers movie. The saving grace of the whole appearance was Sasso coming out dressed as Hulk Hogan. It was incredible and you could tell the MadTV star was genuinely having fun out in the ring.

Aaron Paul - March 3, 2014

When making his rounds on the promotional circuit for Need for Speed in March 2014, Breaking Bad alum Aaron Paul showed up and hosted Monday Night Raw. This was one of the final guest host spots, and it’s one that’s pretty forgettable more than a decade later.

Floyd Mayweather Jr. - August 24, 2009

A year and a few months after defeating Big Show at WrestleMania 24, boxing legend Floyd Mayweather Jr. showed up on Monday Night Raw in August 2009. During the appearance, Mayweather had a confrontation with Big Show and Chris Jericho (Jeri-Show) and eventually stood in the corner of Mark Henry and MVP in a tag match later that night.

The MacGruber Cast - April 19, 2010

Will Forte and Kristen Wiig popped up on Monday Night Raw in April 2010 to promote MacGruber, but they didn’t come as themselves. Instead, the SNL alum came in character, which resulted in some hilarious run-ins with WWE superstars, several of whom showed up in the satirical action comedy.

Nicole ‘Snooki’ Polizzi - March 14, 2011

Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi, best known for her time on Jersey Shore, had a little WrestleMania run back in 2011, which included a spot on Monday Night Raw. A few weeks later, the TV star would pull off the impossible and get a win at the “Showcase of the Immortals.”

Dennis Miller - December 14, 2009

Dennis Miller showed up for the 2009 Slammy Awards on Monday Night Raw and spent the better part of his time making political jokes and providing commentary on WWE superstars with some so-bad-it’s-good Photoshop skills. People chuckled but quickly forgot the segment.

Johnny Knoxville - October 4, 2010

Long before Johnny Knoxville defeated Sami Zayn in one of the most chaotic matches on the WrestleMania 38 card, the stuntman-turned-Hollywood star hosted an October 2010 episode of Monday Night Raw. Taking place days before the release of Jackass 3D, Knoxville pulled out some hilarious pranks, with Ted Dibiase Jr. on the receiving end of the torment.

Ozzy And Sharon Osbourne - November 2, 2009

Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne were inescapable in the 2000s, so it was only natural for the pair to host an episode of Monday Night Raw in November 2009. Their Raw’s Got Talent segment is without a doubt one of the worst things to ever happen on Raw, which is saying something.

On December 28, 2001, Ridley Scott released one of the loudest, most violent, and most realistic  war movies with Black Hawk Down. The military epic, which is based on the Battle of Mogadishu in 1993, is filled with some of the best actors of the time, with everyone from seasoned acting veterans like the late Sam Shepard to up-and-comers like Tom Hardy portraying actual Army Rangers and Delta Force operatives as well as characters based on the likeness of others.

A lot of time has passed since the Black Hawk Down cast provided engaging and sometimes harrowing performances in the tense and hectic war drama, and you may be curious to know what they’re up to now. You have come to the right place if that’s the case.

Josh Hartnett (Matt Eversmann)

Josh Hartnett was one of most bankable young stars in Hollywood by the time he joined the Black Hawk Down cast as Staff Sergeant Matt Eversmann in 2001, with movies like The Faculty, Halloween H20: 20 Years Later, and Pearl Harbor under his belt.

More recently, Josh Hartnett has continued to find success on both the big screen and small screen, with everything from Wrath of Man to Ida Red and Paradise Lost to Exterminate All the Brutes coming out since 2020. The former teen heartthrob will next appear in The Long Way Home and The Fear Index.

Eric Bana (Norm “Hoot” Gibson)

Already a massive star in his native Australia by the time Black Hawk Down came around in December 2001, Eric Bana got one of his first big breaks in Hollywood with his portrayal of Delta Force Sergeant First Class Norm “Hoot” Gibson.

In the years following the release of Ridley Scott’s gritty war drama, Eric Bana appeared in Hulk, Troy, Munich, and Star Trek, and has continued to remain a busy actor with recent movies like King Arthur: Legend of the Sword, The Dry, and Back to the Outback. He’ll next appear in the upcoming drama Blueback.

Ewan McGregor (John “Grimesey” Grimes)

Ewan McGregor gave a tremendous performance as Army Rangers Specialist John “Grimesey” Grimes in Black Hawk Down, a movie that came out in the middle of one of the Scottish actor’s most successful runs (the film was released between Moulin Rouge! and Star Wars: Episode II — Attack of the Clones).

No surprise here, but Ewan McGregor has remained just as successful and just as prolific in the two decades since he went from a desk clerk to combat soldier, with Doctor Sleep, Birds of Prey, and The Birthday Cake all coming out since late 2019. McGregor will also take on the role of his famous Jedi master once more in the upcoming Disney+ series Obi-Wan Kenobi.

Tom Sizemore (Danny McKnight)

Just a few years after Saving Private Ryan and only months following the release of Pearl Harbor, Tom Sizemore tried his hand at the military drama genre with his portrayal of Colonel Danny McKnight in Black Hawk Down. 

Despite extensive legal trouble over the years, Tom Sizemore has remained one of the busiest figures in Hollywood (he appeared in 28 movies between 2017 and 2018), and has continue to appear in multiple film and TV projects like Twin Peaks, Adam, and Central Park Dark.

William Fichtner (Jeff Sanderson)

Following successes like Heat, Armageddon, and The Perfect Storm, William Fichtner went on to portray Sergeant First Class Jeff Sanderson in Black Hawk Down.

Here more recently, William Fichtner has shown up in everything from 12 Strong to The Space Between on the film side of things with appearances on TV including Mom, Veep, and Corporate. At some point in the near future, Fichtner will try his luck again at the small screen with the upcoming Peacock series Joe Exotic which is to feature the actor as the Tiger King’s former producer Richard Kirkham.

Sam Shepard (William Garrison)

The late Sam Shepard, who found a great deal of success as an actor, playwright, author, and director, portrayed Major General William F. Garrison in Black Hawk Down.

In the years prior to his 2017 death at the age of 73, Sam Shepard appeared in Midnight Special, Never Here, and Rolling Thunder Revue: A Bob Dylan Story by Martin Scorsese (though the film wasn’t released until 2019). He also appeared on the Netflix series Bloodline shortly before his passing.

Jason Isaacs (Mike Steele)

Jason Isaacs, who made a name for himself as one of Hollywood’s leading villainous actors with The Patriot and later the Harry Potter franchise, showed up in a less evil role in Black Hawk Down as Captain Mike Steele.

More recently, Jason Isaacs has appeared on Star Trek: Discovery, Sex Education, and Castlevania, as well as movies like Mass, Scoob!, and Hotel Mumbai. Isaacs has multiple projects in the works, including Spinning Gold and Henry VIII: Man, Monarch, Monster.

Ewen Bremner (Shawn Nelson)

One of the many actors who appeared in both Pearl Harbor and Black Hawk Down, Ewen Bremner shows up in the latter as Specialist Shawn Nelson.

Over the course of the past five years, Ewen Bremner has appeared in T2 Trainspotting (reprising his role from the 1996 original), Wonder Woman, First Cow, and Creation Stories to name a few. He will soon appear in the upcoming HBO Max series Our Flag Means Death.

Orlando Bloom (Todd Blackburn)

Just as he was becoming an overnight sensation with the release of The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring, Orlando Bloom took on another memorable role as Private First Class Todd Blackburn in Black Hawk Down.

Since the December 2001 release of the violent war drama, Orlando Bloom has become an international superstar with franchises like Pirates of the Caribbean and The Hobbit (where he reprised his LOTR role). Bloom is currently one of the leads on the Amazon series Carnival Row.

Tom Hardy (Lance Twombly)

Not long after he found a place on the Band of Brothers cast, Tom Hardy stuck with military dramas as Specialist Lance Twombly in his feature film debut. 

Since then, Tom Hardy has become and remained one of the most versatile actors in Hollywood balancing comic book adaptations like The Dark Knight Rises and Venom with dramas like The Revenant and Dunkirk. Hardy will next appear in Gareth Evans upcoming crime thriller Havoc.

Kim Coates (Chris Wex)

Already an established name in show business by the time he joined the Black Hawk Down cast as Master Sergeant Chris Wex, Kim Coates has continued to find success in film and TV in the past 20 years.

The Sons of Anarchy and Prison Break star has recently appeared on shows like Tangled: The Series, The Crew, and Van Helsing, as well as movies like Fantasy Island, See for Me, and Donkeyhead.

Ioan Gruffudd (John Beales)

Ioan Gruffudd had already appeared in movies like Titanic and Another Life by the time he was cast as Lieutenant John Beales in Black Hawk Down, but his career would take off even more years after with Fantastic Four (and its 2007 sequel), King Arthur, and W.

More recently, Ioan Gruffudd has appeared in movies like The Professor and the Madman, Buttons, and Ava, as well as TV shows like Liar and Harrow.

Hugh Dancy (Kurt “Doc” Schmid)

Hugh Dancy made his feature film debut in Black Hawk Down as Sergeant First Class Kurt “Doc” Schmid, but it certainly wouldn’t be his last.

Following the success of The Jane Austen Book Club, Confessions of a Shopaholic, and Martha Marcy May Marlene, Hugh Dancy landed roles in more recent film productions like Late Night and the soon-to-be-released Downton Abbey: A New Era. Dancy will also appear on Law & Order Season 21 in early 2022..

Nikolaj Coster-Waldau (Gary Gordon)

Before he became known for his portrayal of Jaime Lannister on Game of Thrones, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau took on the role of Delta Force operative Master Sergeant Gary Gordon in Black Hawk Down.

Since completing his role in the divisive Game of Thrones Season 8, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau has portrayed the titular character in a 2020 production of Macbeth, The Silencing, and A Taste of Hunger, with several upcoming projects on the way including Against The Ice and God is a Bullet.

Jeremy Piven (Clifton Wolcott)

Though more associated with comedic roles, Jeremy Piven showed up in Black Hawk Down as Clifton Wolcott, the pilot of the doomed Super 61 helicopter. 

In the years following the release of Black Hawk Down, Jeremy Piven would land one of his most iconic roles when he was cast as Ari Gold on the HBO series Entourage (and the 2015 film adaptation). Recently, Piven has shown up in Last Call, American Night, and the soon-to-be-released All-Star Weekend alongside Jamie Foxx.

Ty Burrell (Timothy A. Wilkinson)

And then there is Ty Burrell, who has a brief appearance as Technical Sergeant Timothy A. Wilkinson in Black Hawk Down.

In the years following the film’s release, Ty Burrell would find success, first in Zack Snyder’s 2004 Dawn of the Dead remake and then on a much larger scale as Phil Dunphy on the long-running Modern Family. Since the landmark series completed its run in 2020, Burrell has voiced Jack Harris on the animated series Duncanville.

This is just a little more than a dozen of the actors who appeared on the Black Hawk Down cast, as including every single name would take a very long time. In the summer of 2006, the worlds of stock car racing and computer-generated imagery collided, giving audiences around the world the clever and entertaining Pixar movie, Cars. Now, it has been 15 years since we first heard Owen Wilson (who was at the top of the world) lend his voice to the successful, yet overly-confident, Lightning McQueen as the hot-shot race car learned a thing or two about not always taking the fast lane, and you might be wondering what he and the rest of the Cars voice cast have been up the past decade-and-a-half. 

Well, you have certainly come to the right place, as we are about to get on the highway and get up to speed with all those familiar voices and everything they have done in recent years.

Owen Wilson (Lightning McQueen)

Coming out of the gate is Owen Wilson as Lightning McQueen, the hotshot, red race car who embarks upon the soul-searching journey after getting lost on his way to the final race of the Piston Cup. In addition to reprising his role in the second and third installments of the Cars franchise (as well as various short films), Wilson has gone on to team up with his old filmmaking buddy Wes Anderson multiple times over the past 15 years with another movie — The French Dispatch — on the way. In June 2021, Wilson joined the Marvel Cinematic Universe as the mysterious Mobius M. Mobius on the Disney+ streaming series Loki. If the shocking Season 1 finale is any indication, we’ll be seeing much more of Wilson in the MCU moving forward.

Paul Newman (Doc Hudson)

Paul Newman’s voice performance as Doc Hudson, the 1951 Hudson Hornet with quite a history, was the last non-documentary appearance by the Hollywood legend before his death in 2008. Archival recordings of the Academy Award-winning actor (The Color of Money) would later be used in 2017’s Cars 3.

Bonnie Hunt (Sally Carrera)

Sally Carrera, the law-practicing Porsche who represents Lightning McQueen when he brings chaos and destruction to Radiator Springs in Cars, is voiced by Bonnie Hunt. The longtime Pixar voice actor followed up her 2006 performance with the second and third Cars movies, as well as Toy Story 3 and its 2018 sequel, and 2013’s Monsters University. In 2021, Hunt lent her voice to the Disney+ streaming series Monsters at Work, reprising her role of Mrs. Flint from Monsters Inc.

Larry The Cable Guy (Mater)

There are few members of the Cars cast who have been connected to the franchise more than Larry The Cable Guy. Since voicing Mader, Lightning McQueen’s right-hand man and biggest supporter, in 2006, the Blue Collar Comedy star has appeared in all subsequent theatrical releases and a total of 11 short films, most of which centering on his character. He has even voiced the character in various video games and theme park attractions. He will reprise Mader once more in the upcoming Cars series on Disney+. Larry The Cable Guy has released multiple comedy albums and specials, documentaries, and reality shows since then. 

Tony Shalhoub (Luigi)

In the years since he voiced Luigi, the yellow Fiat who owns Radiator Springs’ premier tire shop, Tony Shalhoub has concluded his celebrated run on the USA crime comedy series Monk and joined the cast of another successful series: the Amazon original The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel. With the Primetime Emmy Award-winning show’s fourth season on the way, expect to see more of the prolific actor in the very near future.

Cheech Marin (Ramone)

Cheech Marin, one half of the iconic comedy duo known as Cheech and Chong, has remained as busy as ever since voicing Ramone, the lowrider with a paint shop, in the first Cars movie. Like much of the voice cast, Marin has reprised his role multiple times over the years, but he has also been up to quite a bit outside of the Pixar universe. In 2019 he appeared in the documentary The Cheech: An American Icon’s Crusade for the Chicano Art Movement, which focused on the actor’s decades-long work to preserve the art style while also bringing it to new audiences. He is also set to appear in the upcoming romantic comedy Shotgun Wedding alongside Jennifer Lopez, Josh Duhamel, and Jennifer Coolidge.

George Carlin (Fillmore)

George Carlin’s portrayal of Fillmore, the Volkswagen Bus in Cars, was one of his final film appearances before the revolutionary comedian passed away in 2008. Even after his death, there have been multiple Carlin releases over the years, including the 2016 comedy album I Kinda Like It When a Lotta People Die. Carlin’s character Rufus from Bill and Ted’s Excellent Adventure showed up (through the use of archival footage) in 2020’s Bill and Ted Face the Music.

Paul Dooley (Sarge)

In years since he first voiced Sarge, the old military Jeep that puts Lightning McQueen through a vehicular boot camp in Cars, Paul Dooley has continued to be one of the best character actors in film and television, though the majority of his output has been on the small screen recently. In the past few years, Dooley has popped up here and there on shows like Parenthood, Workaholics, Shameless, and Life in Pieces. 

Jenifer Lewis (Flo)

Jenifer Lewis is another member of the Cars cast that has been busy as ever in the years following the film’s 2006 release. Since taking on the role of Flo, the owner of Flo’s V-8 Café all those years ago, Lewis has appeared multiple times in the franchise as well as other animated movies like The Princess and the Frog and The Addams Family. Since 2014, Lewis has portrayed Ruby Johnson on the successful ABC sitcom, black-ish. On top of all of that, Lewis published an autobiography called The Mother Of Black Hollywood, which featured stories from her life and career, including experiences with everyone from Whoopi Goldberg to Aretha Franklin.

Richard Petty (Strip "The King" Weathers)

Strip “The King” Weathers, the Plymouth Superbird trying to get one more victory before retiring from the Piston Cup circuit in Cars, was voiced by NASCAR legend Richard Petty. Following a legendary career that saw him win a record 200 races, Petty retired from NASCAR in 1992 and has since become one of the brand’s most notable figures whether it be providing commentary during races or being a general presence at race tracks around the country. 

Michael Keaton (Chick Hicks)

In the years following the release of Cars, Michael Keaton, who played the race car known as Chick Hicks, has given some of the best performances of his career and it doesn’t look like he’s going to slow down anytime soon. Within the past decade, Keaton has starred in Birdman, Spotlight, The Founder, and The Trial of the Chicago 7. In 2022, Keaton will once again play Vulture in the upcoming Marvel movie Morbius, and return as Bruce Wayne/Batman in The Flash.

Katherine Helmond (Lizzie)

The role of Lizzie, the Model T Ford in Cars, is just one of the many performances from the late Katherine Helmond, who passed away at the age of 89 in 2019. The legendary actress appeared in movies like Time Bandits, Overboard, and Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas throughout her career, but the lion’s share of her work was on the small screen. With credits that include Who’s the Boss?, Coach, and Everybody Loves Raymond, Helmond was about as prolific as it gets.

John Ratzenberger (Mack)

John Ratzenberger, who has appeared in nearly every Pixar movie dating back to Toy Story in 1995, voiced Mack, the sleep-deprived semi truck in Cars. In the years following the film’s 2006 release, Ratzenberger has mostly performed voice work on the film side of things with the majority of those being in Pixar movies and shows like the 2021 Disney+ streaming series Monsters at Work. 

Joe Ranft (Red)

Joe Ranft, who wrote, co-directed and voiced Red in Cars, tragically passed away in an accident in August 2005, a little less than a year before the film’s release. The movie and subsequent video game were dedicated to his memory. Ranft was honored again years later in a Soul Easter egg.

Jeremy Piven (US)/Jeremy Clarkson (UK) (Harv)

Depending on where you watched Cars, Harv, Lightning McQueen’s manager (whom you only hear and don’t see throughout the movie) was voiced by Jeremey Piven (United States) or Jeremy Clarkson (United Kingdom). Piven, who won multiple awards for his performance as Ari Gold, a fixture of the Entourage cast, has gone on to star in shows like Mr. Selfridge and Wisdom of the Crowd in recent years. He will appear in a number of upcoming movies, including All-Star Weekend, The Walk, and Last Call. Clarkson, a former host of the British car show Top Gear, currently leads The Grand Tour on Amazon and the UK version of Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?.

The Cars cast is one of the most insane to be put together, even for Pixar’s standards. However, this is barely making a dent in the list of race car drivers, media personalities, and celebrities who appeared in the movie. With cameos from Bob Costas, Darrell Waltrip, Dale Earnhardt Jr., and actors from earlier Pixar films in the Cars end credits scene, there’s just so many names. And who knows, maybe some of these names will pop up in upcoming Disney movies.

It is no question that Seinfeld helped launch some great careers in entertainment. However, I am not necessarily referring to the main Seinfeld cast, but the guest stars who were not so well known at the time, such as a pre-Entourage cast Jeremy Piven. Also, you may remember Bryan Cranston’s recurring role, but may not realize he is not the only Breaking Bad cast member to appear on the sitcom, nor is Courteney Cox the only Friends cast member with a prominent guest role. When Seinfeld hits Netflix on October 1, 2021, see if you can spot any of the following as soon-to-be stars, starting with another groundbreaking comedian.

Sarah Silverman (Emily)

With a short stint on Saturday Night Live and a couple of years on HBO’s Mr. Show with Bob and David, Emmy-winning comedian and actress Sarah Silverman was still an up-and-comer when she appeared on the Seinfeld Season 8 episode, “The Money.” She plays Kramer’s girlfriend, Emily, whom Michael Richards’ character claims is great in bed, but not fun to share a bed with when it comes to getting shut-eye afterward.

Bob Odenkirk (Ben)

Also known for Mr. Show with Bob and David as the “Bob” from the title, Bob Odenkirk, who played a medical student Elaine (Julia Louis-Dreyfus) dates in the hope of eventually achieving her dream of dating a doctor in another Seinfeld Season 8 episode, “The Abstinence.” The former Saturday Night Live writer went on to lead a hit action movie called Nobody and, of course, earn Emmy nominations as Saul Goodman on Breaking Bad and the prequel spin-off Better Call Saul.

Anna Gunn (Amy)

Another Breaking Bad alum who appeared on Seinfeld earlier in her career is two-time Emmy winner Anna Gunn (Walter White’s wife, Skyler), who played a girlfriend of Jerry’s whom George (Jason Alexander) is convinced he saw smooching with Jerry’s cousin after losing his glasses in Season 5’s “The Glasses.” I could actually make a whole list of Breaking Bad actors who have appeared on Seinfeld, but let’s move on to another cable drama star for now.

Michael Chiklis (Steve Pocatello)

Michael Chiklis rose to fame as the Emmy-winning lead of FX’s The Shield, as The Thing in two Fantastic Four movies, and as part of the American Horror Story cast in Season 4. Years earlier, he was on Seinfeld Season 3 as a party host who ends up hosting Jerry and Elaine longer than anticipated, after their ride (George) leaves early for a one night stand, and later causes Jerry trouble when he appears at his building unexpected.

Daniel Dae Kim (Student #1)

Another star of a popular TV crime drama is former Hawaii Five-0 cast member Daniel Dae Kim, who is also well known from the Lost cast as Jin-Soo Kwon. On Seinfeld’s final season, Kramer and his friend Mickey (Danny Woodburn) were hired to pretend they had symptoms of certain diseases for medical students to guess, and the actor plays the student who correctly diagnoses Kramer with gonorrhea.

Mariska Hargitay (Melissa)

One of TV’s top crime procedural stars is Law and Order: Special Victims Unit cast member Mariska Hargitay, who has earned several Emmy nominations and one win during her two decades playing Olivia Benson. She probably would have earned some awards recognition for playing a fictionalized version of Elaine on the sitcom-within-a-sitcom, Jerry, if George had not cut off her audition (and if the show hadn’t been cancelled, too) in the Seinfeld Season 4 finale, “The Pilot.”

Jeremy Piven (Michael Barth / TV George)

Also in the Seinfeld Season 4 finale, Michael Barth does an unmistakable imitation of George Costanza when trying out for the role based on Jason Alexander’s character, which he ends up landing. However, you could have mistaken Barth for someone other than Jeremy Piven, who looks nothing like his Emmy-winning Entourage character, Ari Gold, in the episode.

Brad Garrett (Tony Abado)

Another Emmy-winning sitcom star who once guest starred on Seinfeld is Brad Garrett, who made his Season 7 appearance mere months before debuting on Everybody Love Raymond as Robert Barone. He plays a mechanic so overly protective of Jerry’s car that he steals it for himself, unaware that he is carrying a set golf clubs once used by President John F. Kennedy.

Megan Mullally (Betsy)

A winner of two Emmys as Will & Grace’s Karen Walker (and who should have been nominated for playing the ex-wife of her real-life husband, Nick Offerman's, character on Parks and Recreation) is Megan Mullally. One of her earliest sitcom appearances was on a classic Seinfeld Season 4 episode (“The Implant”) as a woman dating George, who accompanies her to the funeral of a loved one where he is accosted for “double-dipping” a chip.

Jennifer Coolidge (Jodi)

Seinfeld also marked the acting debut of Jennifer Coolidge, who later played Stiffler’s Mom in American Pie, Paulette in Legally Blonde, and joined the 2 Broke Girls cast as Sophie Kachinsky. The White Lotus cast member appeared in Season 5 as a masseuse dating Jerry, whom he can’t seem to get to give him a massage. Not to mention, she hates George so much, he starts to become obsessed with her.

Courteney Cox (Meryl)

Jennifer Coolidge has also guest starred on Friends, which, of course, made a star out of Courteney Cox just months after her Seinfeld appearance. She also appeared in Season 5 as a girlfriend of Jerry’s who pretends to be his wife so they can both get a discount at their local dry cleaners.

Debra Jo Rupp (Katie)

You may remember that Debra Jo Rupp had a recurring spot on Friends as Phoebe’s sister-in-law, Alice, before she played Kitty in the That ‘70s Show cast and, even later, had a role on WandaVision. However, she also had a recurring role on Seinfeld, appearing in two episodes as Jerry’s loyal, but extremely incompetent, agent, Katie.

Maggie Wheeler (Cynthia)

Probably the funniest and most memorable recurring role on Friends was Janice, played by Maggie Wheeler, who also had an earlier role on Seinfeld. In Season 3’s “The Fix Up,” Jerry and Elaine crack a scheme to pair the romantically challenged George with Elaine’s romantically fed-up friend Cynthia (Wheeler), which, expectedly, has its ups and downs.

Jon Favreau (Eric The Clown)

Another actor who landed a recurring role on Friends was Jon Favreau, before he became one of the most successful filmmakers working today as the director of Iron Man and the creator of the Star Wars spin-off series The Mandalorian, to name a few achievements. I bet you had no idea that he was the birthday clown who told George to get over his predilection for Bozo in the Seinfeld Season 5 classic “The Fire.”

Tobin Bell (Ron)

Speaking of clowns, one of the creepiest clowns in horror movies is Billy, the puppet whom Jigsaw often talks through in the Saw movies. I bet you didn’t realize that the man who played Jigsaw, Tobin Bell, appeared on a Seinfeld Season 4 episode (“The Old Man”) as a record store owner who offers Kramer and Newman an unjustly low price for some used vinyl, including a Frank Sinatra album in mint condition.

James Spader (Jason Hanky)

Also known for playing great villains (such as Raymond “Red” Reddington on The Blacklist or the AI enemy of 2015’s Avengers: Age of Ultron) is James Spader. The three-time Emmy-winner actually channels some of that same signature sinister energy to play Jason Hanky, who refuses to apologize to George for a past insult despite being required to make amends as part of a 12-step program, on a Seinfeld Season 9 episode.

Patton Oswalt (Video Store Clerk)

Also known for playing a Marvel villain (voice of the title character in the animated series M.O.D.O.K.) is Patton Oswalt, a popular comedian even better known for sitcoms like The King of Queens and movies like Ratatouille. One of his very first acting appearances was on Seinfeld as an employee at a video store from which George tries to rent Breakfast at Tiffany’s so he does not have to read the book.

Catherine Keener (Nina West)

A Scream Queen in her own right (mostly for appearing in one of the best horror movies in recent memory, Get Out) is Academy Award nominee Catherine Keener, who also had an early Seinfeld appearance. In Season 3, she plays the painter of Kramer’s iconic portrait and a girlfriend of Jerry’s who toys with his head with a letter she plagiarizes from a Neil Simon movie.

Stephen Tobolowsky (Tor Eckman)

A character whose methods to cure George’s inflamed tonsils remind me of Catherine Keener role in Get Out is Tor Eckman in the Season 2 episode, “The Heart Attack.” The holistic specialist is played to ridiculous perfection on Seinfeld by actor Stephen Tobolowsky, whom many will recognize from Groundhog Day, his recurring role in the Silicon Valley cast, and as Sammy Jankis in Christopher Nolan’s Memento.

Lauren Graham (Valerie)

Another acclaimed star of TV (like from being in the Gilmore Girls cast) and movies (such as Bad Santa) is Lauren Graham, who played the other half of one of Jerry’s most overly complicated romantic relationships on Seinfeld. When Valerie (Graham) puts Jerry on her speed dial, her stepmother (Louan Gideon) is initially furious, until she begins to take a liking to him and wants to put him on her speed dial, which threatens Jerry’s position on Valerie’s list!

I am not even sure if that is the weirdest relationship Jerry has ever been in, nor am I convinced that we have covered all the best Seinfeld characters with this list. However, what I do know is that you may never watch the hit sitcom the same way again, knowing that it was once a big break (or an obscure highlight) for some of your favorite celebrities.

This February marked the 18th anniversary of Old School, Todd Phillips' back-to-school sophomoric comedy that propelled the film careers of its three lead stars, Luke Wilson, Vince Vaughn, and Will Ferrell. Co-starring a variety of future celebrities, including Jeremy Piven, Ellen Pompeo, and Simon Helberg, this raunchy romp was met with mixed reviews and a modest box office intake, but it found a loving audience, becoming one of the most quoted movies of the early '00s. Now that nearly two decades have passed since its theatrical rollout, what's the Old School cast doing now? Let's find out!

Luke Wilson (Mitch “The Godfather” Martin)

As Mitch Martin, i.e. "The Godfather," a lovelorn 30-something who moves into Beanie's frat house after his girlfriend cheats on him, Luke Wilson plays our hapless lead character in Old School. Most notably, Wilson played Anthony Adams in Bottle Rocket, Richie Tenenbaum in The Royal Tenenbaums, and Emmett Richmond in the Legally Blonde movies. Additionally, he starred in Home Fries, The Family Stone, My Super Ex-Girlfriend, and Idiocracy. His other notable film credits include My Dog Skip, Charlie's Angels (2000), Blades of Glory, 3:10 to Yuma, and Death at a Funeral (2010). Also, he appeared in Anchorman, Brad's Status, and Zombieland: Double Tap. Most recently, the actor was seen in Netflix's All the Bright Places and heard in Bobbleheads: The Movie.

Additionally, on television, Luke Wilson starred in short-lived shows like Roadies and Enlightened. Currently, he plays Pat Dugan, i.e. S.T.R.I.P.E., in The CW's Stargirl. Next, Wilson will be seen in 12 Mighty Orphans and The Cleaner. Right now, the actor is filming a role in Gasoline Alley. Also, Wilson will be heard in the animated series, New-Gen. Outside of acting, he was the host of ABC's 2020 docuseries, Emergency Call.

Will Ferrell (Frank “The Tank” Ricard)

In the role of Frank "The Tank" Ricard, a domesticated man who puts a strain on his recent marriage when he returns to his hard-partying ways, Will Ferrell played a memorable character in 2003's Old School. Making a name for himself as a standout performer on Saturday Night Live, Ferrell became a movie star through his lead performances in Anchorman 1 & 2, Elf, Talledega Nights, Blades of Glory, Step Brothers, The Other Guys, Daddy's Home 1 & 2, and Stranger Than Fiction, to name only a few.

Most recently, Will Ferrell starred in Downhill and Eurovision Song Contest: The Story of Fire Saga, which he co-wrote and produced. Also, the A-list comedian appeared in Impractical Jokers: The Movie and the short film, David. Next, he'll star in Apple TV+'s The Shrink Next Door. Vince Vaughn (Bernard “Beanie” Campbell)

Playing the part of Bernard "Beanie" Campbell, who turns his house into a fraternity to stay compliant with the university rules, Vince Vaughn starred in Old School. Following his breakout performance as Trent Walker in Swingers, Vaughn found fame with his lead performances in Wedding Crashers, Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story, and The Break-Up. Additionally, Vaughn was well-liked for his supporting turns in Anchorman, Mr. & Mrs. Smith, and The Lost World: Jurassic Park. His other notable post-Old School film credits include Hacksaw Ridge, Into the Wild, and Todd Phillips' Starsky & Hutch.

More recently, Vince Vaughn starred in genre films like Brawl in Cell Block 99, Dragged Across Concrete, and last year's Freaky. His other recent film credits include Arkansas and Hulu's The Binge. Jeremy Piven (Dean Gordon “Cheese” Pritchard)

As Dean Gordon Pritchard, i.e. "Cheese," an old classmate who's out for revenge, Jeremy Piven plays the primary antagonist in Old School. Most notably, Piven is known for his three-time Emmy-winning performance as Ari Gold in HBO's Entourage. Later, the actor reprised this role in the 2015 big screen continuation. His other notable television roles include Mr. Selfridge, Ellen, The Larry Sanders Show, and Seinfeld.

Additionally, on the big screen, Jeremy Piven played the lead role of Don Ready in The Goods: Live Hard, Sell Hard. He also starred in Keeping Up with the Steins, PCU, and I Melt With You. His other notable film credits include supporting turns in Scary Movie 3, RocknRolla, The Grifters, Say Anything, Black Hawk Down, and Grosse Point Blank. Perrey Reeves (Marissa Jones)

Playing the part of Marissa Jones, Frank's concerned wife, Perrey Reeves plays a stern supporting character in 2003's Old School. Most notably, Reeves reunited with Old School co-star Jeremy Piven to play Melissa Gold in Entourage. She reprised this role in the movie continuation. Her other TV credits include Covert Affairs, Famous in Love, Private Practice, and Grey's Anatomy. Additionally, on the big screen, Reeves appears in Mr. & Mrs. Smith, Child's Play 3, Kicking & Screaming (1995), Plus One, and Smoke Signals. Juliette Lewis (Heidi)

As Heidi, Mitch's girlfriend, Juliette Lewis plays a randy supporting character in Old School. Previously, Lewis scored an Oscar nomination for her supporting turn in Cape Fear. She also received an Emmy nomination for My Lousiana Sky. Most notably, Lewis is known for National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation and Natural Born Killers. Most notably, Remini is known for playing Carrie Heffernan in CBS's The King of Queens. She reunited with Kevin James for CBS's Kevin Can Wait. She can also be seen in Saved by the Bell, Cheers, and The Talk, where she co-hosted. Additionally, Remini hosted the documentary series, Leah Remini: Scientology and the Aftermath, which resulted in two Emmy wins. Playing the part of Darcie Goldberg, Mitch's no-nonsense one-night-stand, Elisha Cuthbert has a prominent role in Old School. Most notably, Cuthbert starred in The Girl Next Door. She's also known for her performances in House of Wax (2005), Love Actually, Captivity, The Quiet, and He Was a Quiet Man. Additionally, Cuthbert's recent film credits include Goon: Last of the Enforcers, Just Before I Go, and My Sassy Girl.

Outside of film, Elisha Cuthbert played main roles in Nickelodeon's Are You Afraid of the Dark?, Fox's 24, and ABC's Happy Endings. As Jerry, Simon Helberg received one of his first high-profile roles in Old School. Most notably, the actor played Howard Wolowitz in CBS's long-running sitcom, The Big Bang Theory. His other notable TV credits include MADtv, Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog, Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip, and Derek and Simon, which he co-created and produced. Furthermore, as a voice actor, Helberg can be heard in Kung Fu Panda: Legends of Awesomeness, Kick Buttowski: Suburban Daredevil, and The Tom and Jerry Show.

Outside of TV, Simon Helberg is best known for his supporting performances in Florence Foster Jenkins and A Serious Man. He also appeared in Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story, Good Night and Good Luck, A Cinderella Story, and Van Wilder. Additionally, Helberg starred in, wrote, and co-directed We'll Never Have Paris. Seann William Scott (Peppers)

In the role of Peppers, Seann William Scott had a standout cameo in Old School. Previously, Scott appeared in Todd Phillips' Road Trip. Most notably, the actor played Steve Stifler in the American Pie franchise. Seann William Scott also stars in the Goon movies. Elsewhere, he's recognized for his lead performances in Dude, Where's My Car?, Mr. Woodcock, Evolution, and Bulletproof Monk. Furthermore, the comedic actor played Travis Walker in The Rundown, Bo Duke in The Dukes of Hazzard, and Wheeler in Role Models. His other film credits include Final Destination, Cop Out, and Southland Tales.

Outside of these film titles, Sean William Scott can be seen in Bloodline, Balls Out: Gary the Tennis Coach (which he produced), The Promotion, and Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back. On television, the actor starred in the third season of Fox's Lethal Weapon in the role of Wesley Cole. Next, Scott is expected to star in Fox's new reboot, This Country.

Craig Kilborn (Mark)

Playing the part of Mark, Nicole's boyfriend, Craig Kilborn plays a combative character in Old School. Most notably, Kilborn hosted The Daily Show and The Late Late Show. He also appeared on SportsCenter and hosted The Kilborn File. Additionally, in film, Kilborn can be seen in The Benchwarmers, The Shaggy Dog (2006), Full of It, and The Bronze. Most recently, Kilborn guest-starred in an episode of ABC's short-lived United We Fall.

Patrick J. Adams (Patch)

Taking on the role of Patch, Patrick J. Adams made his film debut in 2003's Old School. Most notably, Adams is known for his leading role as Mike Ross in the first seven seasons of USA Network's Suits. His other television credits include Orphan Black, Pillow Talk, Sneaky Pete, Rosemary's Baby, and Friday Night Lights. Additionally, in film, Adams appeared in Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story, Christmas in Boston, Rage, Weather Girl, Clara, and Room for Rent. Adrian Grenier (Vincent Chase)

In the role of Vincent Chase, a promising rising actor on the verge of being considered one of the greats, Adrian Grenier played the central protagonist in this HBO ensemble series. While this performance is certainly his most recognizable, Grenier is also well-known for The Devil Wears Prada.

The actor's other notable film credits include Drive Me Crazy, Anything Else, Affairs of State, Cecil B. Demented, Harvard Man, Hart's War, Celebrity, and Love in the Time of Money. He also did voice work for Vietnam in HD and Miles from Tomorrowland. Outside of acting, Grenier directed documentaries like Shot in the Dark and Teenage Paparazzo, while also producing many others. His most recent acting credits include Hallmark's Christmas at Graceland: Home for the Holidays, Stage Mother, and the short film, Freeze.

Next, Adrian Grenier is set to star in the new series, Clickbait.

Kevin Connolly (Eric Murphy)

As Vincent Chase's manager and best friend Eric Murphy, also known as "E," Kevin Connolly played one of the five main characters in Entourage. Prior to this performance, Connolly starred in Unhappily Ever After. His notable film credits include The Notebook, He's Just Not That Into You, The Beverly Hillbillies, Rocky V, John Q, Antwone Fisher, The Ugly Truth, Secretariat, Reach Me, and Don's Plum. He was also a series regular on Great Scott! and Friends with Better Lives, while also playing recurring roles in Pitch and The Oath. 

In addition to acting, Connolly directs. He called the shots on two Entourage episodes, while also directing installments of Unhappily Ever After, 30 for 30, Snatch, and The Oath. Additionally, Connolly helmed Gotti, Dear Eleanor, and Gardener of Eden.

Most recently, Kevin Connolly appeared in last month's Chick Fight. Earlier this year, he faced accusations of sexual assault.

Kevin Dillon (Johnny “Drama” Chase)

Playing Johnny "Drama" Chase, Vincent Chase's half-brother and a fellow wannabe actor, Kevin Dillon gave a three-time Emmy-nominated standout performance in Entourage. He's also well-known for Platoon and The Doors. After Entourage, Dillon starred in the short-lived CBS sitcom, How to Be a Gentleman. His other notable television credits include That's Life, NYPD Blue, Tales from the Crypt, 24, Blue Bloods, and voice work in TripTank and The Simpsons. Additionally, Dillon can be seen in 2006's Poseidon, Hotel for Dogs, Compulsion, The Throwaways, and A Midnight's Clear, as well as When He's Not A Stranger, Immediate Family, 1988's The Blob, War Party, Heaven Help Us, and Remote Control.

Most recently, Kevin Dillon starred in last month's Buddy Games. He's currently in the midst of filming Reagan and he's expected to star in Red Money.

Jerry Ferrara (Salvatore 'Turtle' Assante)

In the role of Salvatore Assante, better known by his nickname "Turtle," Jerry Ferrera was a scene-stealer on Entourage. He also had a hand in writing a couple episodes. While Entourage is his most well-known performance, Ferrara's other notable credits include a recurring role in USA Network's Shooter, as well as guest star appearances in The King of Queens, Grounded for Life, NYPD Blue, and Leap of Faith. He also worked on Vietnam in HD, and starred in Lone Survivor, Battleship, Eagle Eye, Brooklyn Rules, and Empire State, as well as Last Vegas, Sully, Think Like a Man, and Think Like a Man Too. Additionally, Ferrara produced the 2012 documentary, A Band Called Death.

Most recently, Jerry Ferrara starred in Starz's Power, which ended its run in February. The actor also guest-starred on A Million Little Things, and he played himself in Netflix's Sneakerheads. Next, Ferrara stars in Dating in New York.

Rex Lee (Lloyd Lee)

Playing the part of Lloyd Lee, Ari Gold's assistant-turned-agent, Rex Lee was a consistently recurring character on Entourage, appearing in nearly every episode. Away from Entourage, Lee is best known for ABC Family/Freeform's Young & Hungry. He also had a recurring role in ABC's Suburgatory, while making guest star appearances in Fresh Off the Boat, Castle, Glee, and Zoey 101. And Lee did voice work for Glenn Martin DDS. His film credits include Lemon, For the Love of George, Someone I Used To Know, Shades of Ray, and Word of Mouth. He also did an ad campaign for Wix.com in 2015.

Earlier this year, Rex Lee starred in Netflix's Feel the Beat and the YouTube web-series, Vicious Mannies. Lee also recently appeared in the web pilot, UDrive Me. Next, he'll star in Keeping Company.

Perrey Reeves (Mrs. Ari)

As Melissa Gold, a.k.a. Mrs. Ari, the long-suffering wife of Ari Gold, Perrey Reeves played a highly exasperated character in Entourage. Away from this popular series, Reeves starred in Freeform's Famous in Love and The Lyon's Den. She also guest-starred in NCIS, White Collar, Private Practice, Castle, Grey's Anatomy, Rules of Engagement, CSI, The X-Files, and Murder, She Wrote. And the actress appeared in Doogie Howser, M.D. The Affair, and 21 Jump Street (the show). Additionally, Reeves' film credits include Old School, Child's Play 3, Kicking and Screaming (1995), Mr. and Mrs. Smith, Smoke Signals, and High Voltage. Also, she recently starred in Plus One.

Most recently, Perrey Reeves starred in the Lifetime movie, Abducted on Air. Next, the actress will star in the upcoming series, Paradise City.

Debi Mazar (Shauna)

In the role of Shauna, Vince's sharp-tongued publicist, Debi Mazar plays a spirited, heavily opinionated recurring character in Entourage. She also starred in Cooking Channel's Extra Virgin, while also having leading roles in L.A. Law, Temporarily Yours, Working, Civil Wars, and That's Life. Her notable film credits include Little Man Tate, Beethoven's 2nd, Goodfellas, Singles, Bullets Over Broadway, Malcolm X, The Doors, Batman Forever, Collateral, and Home Alone: The Holiday Heist, as well as Empire Records, Toys, So I Married an Axe Murder, Trees Lounge, Casper: A Spirited Beginning, The Insider, Be Cool, and 2008's The Women. 

Debi Mazar is also seen in Space Monkeys' "Sugarcane" music video, and she's heard in Grand Theft Auto III and Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas. Additionally, Mazar played Ava Gardener in Arde Madrid.

Currently, Debi Mazar stars in TV Land's Younger. Also, Mazar appeared in Starz's Power and The CW's Katy Keene.

Rhys Coiro (Billy Walsh)

Playing the part of Billy Walsh, the director of Queens Boulevard, Rhys Coiro had a recurring character on Entourage. Getting his start on Broadway, this role was one of his earliest successes, later resulting in him starring in MacGruber, The Unborn, 2011's Straw Dogs, Valley of Bones, and Gotti. His TV credits include Six Feet Under, CSI: NY, CSI: Miami, 24, Criminal Minds, Person of Interest, The Walking Dead, Dexter, and Burn Notice, as well as The Mick, Ray Donovan, Numb3rs, Ugly Betty, and CSI. He was also in the main cast for CBS' short-lived Hostages.

Most recently, Rhys Coiro had a recurring role in A Million Little Things. He also played supporting parts in Hustlers and Finding Steve McQueen, and he appeared in I Think You Should Leave with Tim Robinson. Next, Coiro stars in Paradise City.

Gary Cole (Andrew Klein)

As manager Andrew Klein, Gary Cole plays a prominent part in Entourage's sixth season, while also appearing in Seasons 5 and 7, respectively. A hard-working actor with various film and television credits on his resume, Cole starred in The Brady Bunch Movie, Office Space, Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby, Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story, One Hour Photo, Veep, Pineapple Express, and American Gothic, as well as Midnight Caller, Chicago Fire, The Good Wife, Blockers, Hop, The Ring Two, A Simple Plan, Desperate Housewives, Suits, and The West Wing. He also voiced the lead in Harvey Birdman, Attorney at Law, and he lent his voice to Kim Possible.

Last year, Gary Cole starred in CBS's Fam. Most recently, he appeared in Darkness Falls, as well as episodes of mixed-ish, The Good Fight, Room 104, and he did voice work for Family Guy, Star Trek: Lower Decks, and Batman: Death in the Family.

Emmanuelle Chriqui (Sloan McQuewick)

Playing the part of Sloan McQuewick, E's on-and-off girlfriend, Emmanuelle Chriqui was frequently seen throughout Entourage starting in Season 2. Outside of this HBO comedy series, the actress starred in You Don't Mess with the Zohan and The Mentalist. She also played a regular part in Cleaners, as well as main roles in Murder in the First, Shut Eye, and last year's The Passage. Additionally, Chriqui starred in Detroit Rock City, Snow Day, Fort Bliss, Waiting..., Cadillac Records, National Lampoon's Adam and Eve, In the Mix, Super Troopers 2, Elektra Luxx, 100 Girls, Wrong Turn, and, most recently, The Knight Before Christmas.

Scott Caan (Scott Lavin)

In the role of Scott Lavin, a Hollywood manager who becomes the co-founder of the Murphy Lavin Group with E, Scott Caan played a key role in Entourage's last three seasons. The son of James Caan, Caan is known for Ocean's movies, Into the Blue, Enemy of the State, Ready to Rumble, Gone in 60 Seconds, Varsity Blues, Novocaine, and Boiler Room. He's also the writer, director, and star of Dallas 362 and The Dog Problem. Additionally, Caan wrote and acted in Mercy.

Most notably, Scott Caan starred in CBS's Hawaii Five-0 reboot, which recently ended its run after 10 seasons. He was Golden Globe-nominated for this performance.

Mark Wahlberg (Himself)

Both as the producer and the inspiration for this hit HBO series, Mark Wahlberg's involvement in Entourage is primarily behind the camera, though he appeared as himself in select episodes, while also making a cameo in the 2015 movie. An Oscar-nominated actor and producer for The Departed and The Fighter, respectively, Wahlberg has become one of Hollywood's biggest A-listers. Only a select few of his notable film credits include Boogie Nights, Three Kings, The Other Guys, Ted 1 & 2, Daddy's Home & Daddy's Home Two, The Happening, Shooter, Pain & Gain, Transformers: Age of Extinction, and Transformers: The Last Knight.

Most recently, Mark Wahlberg starred in and produced Spenser Confidential, and he lent his voice to Scoob! He also starred in and produced Joe Bell, which premiered at the TIFF under its original name, Good Joe Bell. Next, Wahlberg stars in Infinite and Uncharted. Also, he remains attached to The Six Billion Dollar Man reboot as an actor and producer.

Jeremy Piven is a pretty big name on the small screen thanks to his years on Entourage, and he made his way to network TV in primetime this fall thanks to a brand new series on CBS. Wisdom of the Crowd starred Piven as a tech billionaire who sold his company in order to launch a bold initiative to fight crime via crowdsourcing. Unfortunately for any fans of the show, it just got some bad news from CBS. Wisdom of the Crowd has been cancelled.

Wisdom of the Crowd originally landed an order for a 13-episode first season. A big question was whether CBS would give a back order for more episodes or let the show simply come to an end after the first 13. With production on the original batch of episodes set to conclude in the middle of December, the decision not to move forward with more episodes and a second season comes pretty late in the game. Deadline reports that CBS had ordered an additional three scripts in order to keep the writers room open before the big decision was made.

Nine of the episodes have already aired, and the remaining four are reportedly going to air in the show's regular Sunday time slot at 8 p.m. ET. It's possible that the remaining episodes will be pulled, as has happened with other series to be cancelled before finishing their runs, but we'll have to wait and see. For the sake of any fans who have already been hooked over just nine episodes, we have to hope that Episode 13 doesn't end on a killer cliffhanger.

The cancellation of Wisdom of the Crowd doesn't come as a huge surprise. The series was not exactly a hit with critics, and the ratings haven't been especially fabulous for CBS. In Live+Same day calculations, Wisdom of the Crowd is averaging 7.39 million viewers and an 0.96 rating in the key 18-49 age demographic. While those aren't terrible numbers, they're also not necessarily high enough to outweigh other negative factors that might impact the future of a series.

In the case of Wisdom of the Crowd, star Jeremy Piven has recently been accused of sexual harassment and even assault by a number of women from over the years of his career. CBS launched an investigation into the allegations, and it's entirely possible that they played a large part in the decision to cancel Wisdom of the Crowd after one short season. If so, Wisdom of the Crowd is only the latest series to be seriously impacted by harassment allegations against a star. The future of former Netflix juggernaut House of Cards is uncertain after accusations against Kevin Spacey, for one. Jeffrey Tambor left Amazon's Transparent after allegations as well.

As of now, you can catch the remaining episodes of Wisdom of the Crowd on Sundays at 8 p.m. ET on CBS. It’s been almost three years since we last saw the inside of Dunder Mifflin on The Office, and even longer since we’ve seen Steve Carell’s Michael Scott sitting backwards in chairs and showing off his Dundie Awards. More depressing than that, somewhat, is who almost got that prize gig instead of Carell, and his name rhymes with Whereamee Skivvin. It’s Jeremy Piven. Yeah, that Jeremy Piven.

The actor who turned Ari Gold into a household name – and his own name into birdcage lining – could have been one of the best paper salesmen on TV, as well as the guy who never cut Toby Flenderson any slack, but here’s the reason Jeremy Piven says he didn’t end up in the role.

If we’re being honest, it’s extremely hard to fault Piven for that unfortunate decision. (I mean, it’s unfortunate that he didn’t take a broadcast comedy that lasted nine seasons, though we have no real way of knowing how long The Office would have lasted with Piven as Michael Scott.) Before the U.S. version aired, I didn’t think anyone could possibly compare to the brilliant Ricky Gervais as David Brent, and while Steve Carell was a completely different kind of terrible boss, he still managed to nail the layered discomfort that made the British version such a treasure. I’m sure Piven also didn’t think that any U.S. remake of that show could possibly rank nearly as high in terms of pure comedy, but he was quite wrong. We were all quite wrong.

The Office debuted its short first season in March of 2005, while the first episode of Entourage aired on HBO in June of 2004. Is it possible that the producers got in touch with Piven that far in advance that he was able to then sign on to Entourage and have that premiere so many months ahead of The Office? Or was he possibly going to pull off being in two shows at once? And would that mean we’d have gotten an Entourage /The Office crossover movie, where Piven made every single dollar there was?

Over a decade after Piven turned down the chance to hang out with Pam and Jim all the time, the actor still has a place on the small screen, only this time on ITV’s period drama Mr. Selfridge. That’s a role that he told Cigar Aficionado he took after “about five minutes” of thinking on it, wanting to shoot for something different from his Entourage persona. It worked.

Meanwhile, we’re still waiting for Steve Carell to make the decision to come back to TV. And if B.J. Novak keeps writing jokes like these, we know what we want to see if and when Carell does.

Cameos are an interesting phenomenon, as it used to be that you never really knew when they were going to happen. These days, it's easy to find out who's going to play even the most minute part in an upcoming film, especially a film as cameo-intensive as this summer's Entourage. In the case of the HBO big screen adaptation, it was pretty much a free for all as to who made it in – and Armie Hammer can prove it.

While doing press with Uproxx in order to promote this weekend's The Man From U.N.C.L.E., Hammer spilled the beans on how he made an appearance in Warner Bros' big screen Entourage venture. If you saw the film and wondered why, out of any actor in Hollywood, they'd cast Hammer to play Emily Ratajkowski's jerk of an ex-boyfriend, it all came down to three things: timing, availability and desperation. Hammer described the circumstances as follows:

Once on the set of Entourage for his big scene, Armie Hammer was surprised that there was no costume for him to wear in the film. As it turns out, the film required a very method cameo from Hammer; so method that the clothes he showed up to the set in were those that you saw him wear in the film. Even his hair was pretty much left au natural when it came time to yell cut, leaving a very authentic looking Hammer playing a character that he admits is far from the man he is in real life. You can watch part of his cameo, as well see Hammer's actual enthusiasm for his part in the film, in the featurette below:

Considering the fact that when it went off the air in 2011, it was still pretty popular with its legions of fans and HBO subscribers alike, you'd think that the reception to even the production of an Entourage film would be received with a bit more excitement. Sex And The City was also off the air for four years, and it managed to produce a successful movie before wearing its welcome out with a sequel. With Entourage at a total worldwide gross of $44.6 million so far, roughly a tenth of what the ladies made on their first outing, it's probably a safe bet to assume that there won't be a sequel any time soon. Which means that Doug Ellin won't have to send out any more emails asking for Hollywood's elite to come out and play.

If this was way too little Armie Hammer action for your tastes, you can get a lot more in the theater this weekend when The Man From U.N.C.L.E. blasts onto the screen starting as early as Thursday night.

In the same way that Vincent Chase makes umpteen times more money than his merry band of cohorts in Entourage, it turns out that Jeremy Piven managed to negotiate a rather sweet and lucrative deal when signing on for the adaptation of the HBO comedy. In fact, Piven is actually being paid more than double the amount of co-stars Adrian Grenier, Kevin Connolly, Jerry Ferrara, and Kevin Dillion.

During an in-depth profile piece of the posse for The Hollywood Reporter ahead of the film’s release, the cast talked at ease about how they each came on-board and orchestrated their contracts. Adrian Grenier explained that their previous contracts with HBO had of course come to an end at the same time as the show. He added:

At this point, it seems that Jeremy Piven was clearly inspired by his own character on Entourage, megalomaniac agent and tough negotiator Ari Gold, and he quickly realised that his involvement was of upmost importance to the film’s success. So much so that according to THR’s sources he was able to agree a deal that pays him around $5 million, while the other actors were only able to agree deals that paid them just over $2 million (plus backend) to feature.

Let’s face it Piven was always going to have the upper-hand in these negotiations. An Entourage film without Ari Gold would have been the most pathetic cinematic adaptation since Marvel Studios decided to make Howard The Duck live-action. Ari Gold’s dominance and screen-stealing antics on Entourage are so potent that it’s actually a surprise they didn’t just decide to make a spin-off film without Vincent Chase, Eric "E" Murphy, Turtle, and Drama. That might be exaggerating his importance just a tad, but it’s not that far from the truth.

Entourage picks up where the television series left off. Ari Gold is now the head of his own studio and he’s decided that his first big movie in this position will feature his old client and pal Vincent Chase. But when he calls the actor to offer him the role he is surprised to learn that he wants to direct his next film as well as star. Ari decides to bankroll Vinnie's directorial debut, but as the budget spirals out of control, they’re forced to secure extra financing by going into cahoots with Texas billionaire Larsen McCredle (Billy Bob Thornton).

Meanwhile, Drama, E, and Turtle are each sure to get up to their own special brand of hijinks, and cameos from the likes of Jessica Alba, Tom Brady, Kevin Durant, Kelsey Grammar, Mark Wahlberg, Ronda Rousey, and Liam Neeson are set to pepper the screen. We’ll see if that all makes for a worthwhile adaptation when Entourage hits the screen on June 3.

Jeremy Piven’s Entourage character, the walking ego Ari Gold, left an undeniable impression on pop culture. Even though Piven had memorable parts before the HBO series, and has found success since the show went off the air, he’ll forever be associated with Ari… so he’s giving the people what they asked for.

In an effort to promote the upcoming Entourage movie, which hits theaters on June 3, Jeremy Piven has agreed to do all of his press opportunities in character as the brash, insensitive and power-hungry Ari Gold. He warned his followers on Twitter, and even went ahead and apologized in advance for the number of people he might offend:

It didn’t take long for Piven to stir up (mild) controversy. During an appearance on The TODAY Show, anchor Matt Lauer asked Piven… er, Ari about his interactions with "client" Charlie Sheen, to which the actor explained that "Carlos" would be "crazier than a shit-house rat" to leave a television program like "Two and a Half Paychecks." The interaction, particularly Lauer’s face after the on-air kerfuffle, is priceless:

This likely will be the first of many viral videos that spring from Jeremy Piven’s inspired approach to publicity. I’m not saying that EVERY actor needs to do the promotion circuit in character. That would eventually grow too strange for words. But Entourage always has been a peek-behind-the-curtain celebration of the unusual world of entertainment and celebrity, and I think this is a very clever way to remind people that the movie is coming… and it’s going to deliver a whole lot of Ari Gold, a character they grew to love over the course of eight seasons.

The whole crew is actually back for the Entourage movie. From what we can see in the trailer, Ari’s now a studio head, and for his first official film, he wants to be in business with Vincent (Adrian Grenier). Along for the ride are the usual members of Vince’s entourage, including Turtle (Jerry Ferrara), "E" (Eric Murphy) and Johnny "Drama" Chase (Kevin Dillon). As was usually the case with the HBO episodes, there will be a TON of celebrity cameos in the movie as well, from executive producer Mark Wahlberg to Jessica Alba, David Spade, Ed O’Neil and Billy Bob Thornton. And, of course, Ari.

The cast of Entourage filmed several scenes for its upcoming movie on the Golden Globes red carpet on Sunday evening. This has immediately sparked rumors of how they could be incorporated into the comedy, with some even suggesting that these scenes could be the precursor to Adrian Grenier’s Vince picking up a nice trophy in the film.

According to Hollywood Life, Adrian Grenier, Kevin Dillon, Kevin Connolly, Emmanuelle Chirqui, Jerry Ferrara and Jeremy Piven - each of whom were dressed impeccably for the sequence - turned up early to the Golden Globes to shoot a scene for the Entourage movie. In fact Connolly and Chiriqui, who portrayed Eric and Sloan in the HBO comedy, even took part in a fake interview with famed entertainment reporter Carson Daly while on the carpet too. And that’s not all, because it has also been alleged that E! News co-host Terrence Jenkins also made an appearance during the guerrilla filming session..

But what does this shoot mean? Maybe Vince is finally getting the recognition from his peers that his work in titles like Head On, Queens Boulevard, Aquaman, Medellin, Gatsby and Ferrari didn’t deliver? That’s probably the most sensible guess. Hopefully he won’t actually claim an award, though, as there is surely much more room for comedy in Turtle, Drama, Ari and E going ballistic at him being snubbed rather than celebrated.

From all accounts, Entourage's big screen adaptation will pick up immediately where the series concluded in September 2011 after 98 episodes aired over eight seasons. Jeremy Piven’s Ari Gold has given Vincent Chase $100 million to make his directorial debut after deciding to build his own studio. Meanwhile, Vince will almost certainly be just as depraved as before, and the likes of Turtle, Drama and E will almost certainly be joining him in his drug-addled antics. This additional filming for Entourage movie comes just a few short weeks after the first trailer for the film was released, which suggests that the movie isn't quite done yet - but that's hardly surprising given its summer release date.

Judging from everything we've seen so far from the Entourage movie, I suppose it looks OK. I have to admit that I never found myself truly impressed withEntourage. Despite the cavalcade of talent that was involved in its production (Seinfeld alumni Larry Charles and Mark Wahlberg were each executive producers on the series), I always felt that it was always a bit too one-note comically, while its plots and season arcs were painstakingly predictable. That being said, there is every chance that the characters, setting and set-up could still lend itself nicely big screen adaptation. Its host of cameos, which includes the likes of Billy Bob Thornton, Mark Wahlberg, Alice Eve and Emily Ratajkowski, suggests that its script must have something about it. We’ll find out when Entourage is released on June 5, 2015. Until then though I’m still very much on the fence.

"Sadly, all good parties must come to an end." This is the phrase that sets the tone for our first look at Entourage, the 2015 feature-length film based on the popular (but now defunct) HBO series. Check the trailer out below!

It’s a meta start for the trailer, essentially starting with a trailer for a separate, fictional film starring Adrian Grenier’s Vincent Chase. And it looks like it’s going to be some type of sci-fi/superhero/action/kung-fu hybrid before the "trailer" is paused and we can get to the meat of the tease for this movie… namely, Jeremy Piven’s award-winning portrayal of frustrated super-agent Ari Gold yelling at Chase and his crew for screwing up. Again.

The first trailer for the Entourage film boasts all of the things that fans loved about the old television show. It offers an unprecedented look behind the scenes of modern Hollywood, dabbling in disputes waged between talent, and the power-brokers who let actors and directors live the lifestyles of the rich and famous. At the same time, it swims in all of the perks that come with Chase’s success – hence, him needing an entourage in the first place. We get plenty of shots of Vince, E (Kevin Connolly), Turtle (Jerry Ferrara) and Drama (Kevin Dillon) playing in fancy cars and on expensive boats with girls like this:

But it also gets around to a string of celebrity cameos. Some are strange, like Billy Bob Thornton and Haley Joel Osment:

Others make far more sense. MMA fighter Ronda Rousey pops by to beat the shit out of Turtle.

And executive producer Mark Wahlberg returns, probably because he likely played a significant role in finally getting Entourage on the big screen.

We went through a phase where top TV shows were all angling to score their own movie. Lost wanted to continue its efforts on the big screen, and 24 is often in the conversation. Sex and the City actually pulled it off. Twice! And now Entourage. Are you excited to reunite with Vince and the boys? The mystery of who is holding up the Entourage movie continues to unravel with news that Jeremy Piven's fat deal with the film's producers has caused envy among his would-be costars. THR reports that Piven has been promised backend compensation for the spin-off feature of the popular HBO series, an offer that has not been extended to Adrian Grenier, Kevin Connolly, Jerry Ferrara and Kevin Dillon.

This revelation helps make sense of the public dispute between Entourage producer Mark Wahlberg and Grenier. Last week, when asked on the street what was taking so long for production on the movie to get going, Wahlberg cited greediness of "them guys" whom most assumed to be the cast. Grenier responded via Instragram, posting a message that claimed he and his fellow hold-outs were waiting for "any deal that gives ALL the boys an opportunity to share in the upside of success EQUALLY." Though we noted Piven had already inked his deal, a couple of our readers were quick to comment he must be to blame. And it seems he is, though not in the way you’d expect.

Piven's contract, which he signed earlier this month, will have him making more off Entourage's movie than his co-stars would stand to. But this is nothing new for the franchise. When the show was first cast, Piven got the highest paying deal as he was the only one with a name worth promoting. It's said he made nearly $100,000 an episode for the first two seasons, and had a more flexible contract than the rest of the guys allowing him to more easily re-negotiate as the series went on. It's weirdly fitting that the guy who played a ball-busting agent managed such sweet deals, isn't it?

But, why not give Grenier, Connolly, Dillon, and Ferrara as much as Piven's getting? Well, the answer to that is a matter of budget. Warner Bros is giving Wahlberg less than $30 million to make this movie, which substantially limits he can spend on above the line costs like talent. Another element that is key to the WB production deal is that shooting begin in time to count toward the California tax credit it's qualified for. Meaning if Entourage is not in production by January 2014, it could be a deal breaker with the studio. But to get this project into gear something's got to give. Either the cast will have to back down on making Ari Gold level bank, or Warner Bros will have to raise the budget for this spin-off movie.

It's a dilemma the studio has faced before with HBO stars. Notably in 2007, Kim Cattrall dragged her feet in signing on to the first Sex and the City movie, and the tactic worked for both sides. She got a plusher payday, and Warner Bros made a movie that went onto earn more than $415 million worldwide. However, it's worth noting that WB clearly had more faith in that spin-off movie as it's budget was more than twice Entourage's, coming in at $65 million. What all this means for the Entourage movie and its stars is hard to determine at this point. But as more gets made public, it seems less and less likely they'll be hugging it out.

One would think that once a film has completed production it would be done adding actors to the cast list, but apparently that's not the case for director Doug Liman's upcoming sci-fi action movie Edge of Tomorrow. According to Deadline, cameras have started rolling again on the project in order film a few new scenes, and to play a new character they've enlisted Entourage star Jeremy Piven.

Based on the book All You Need Is Kill by Hiroshi Sakurazaka and an adapted screenplay by Christopher McQuarrie (Jack Reacher), the film is set in a distant future when the Earth is being attacked by alien invaders. Tom Cruise stars as Bill Cage, a cowardly PR guy who accidentally finds himself suiting up in exoskeleton armor and on the fields of battle. The twist is that he winds up inheriting an ability from the aliens and suddenly finds himself repeating the same day of the war over and over again, with nobody on the human side believing his story with the exception of a fellow warrior named Rita (Emily Blunt). Bill starts his career on the battlefield as a fish out of water, but with each new experience he learns more and more and becomes a better fighter. Piven joins a supporting cast that includes Bill Paxton and Marianne Jean-Baptiste.

According to the new report, Piven will be playing the role of Col. Walter Marx, but there is no word on who is character is or how he fits into the plot. The casting news was confirmed by a spokesperson at Warner Bros., but they also insisted that Liman and his crew were always planning to come back and shoot more scenes. As Deadline explains, they are likely trying to avoid looking like World War Z, which actually completely reshot its entire third act.

Thanks to his key role on HBO's Entourage and the British series Mr. Selfridge, Piven has spent most of the last decade on television, but he does have some big screen projects coming up. For starters he will be reuniting with Spy Kids: All The Time In The World director Robert Rodriguez for a part in Sin City: A Dame To Kill For, which won't be out until 2014. Also, the Entourage movie got the green light all the way back in January, so presumably Piven will soon be reprising his role as Ari Gold.

While many people love Piven as Ari, though, my favorite role that the actor has ever taken on will always be James 'Droz' Andrews from 1994's PCU.

Edge of Tomorrow will be in theaters on June 6, 2014.

It’s official: Entourage star Jeremy Piven is headed over to ITV to star in Mr. Selfridge. He will play the leading role in the period drama as entrepreneur Harry Gordon Selfridge, the man behind Selfridge’s, a department store designed to appeal to the modern woman of 1909.

Piven had been in talks for the role as the flamboyant American businessman, and now Deadline says the deal has gone through. The plot will focus on Selfridge, who makes it is his goal to “make shopping as exciting as sex” in London just after the turn of the century. “Mile a Minute Harry,” as he is nicknamed, creates a lavish department store aimed at women who are finding themselves with a freedom they have never before enjoyed.

Also cast for the project is Katherine Kelly of Coronation Street as Lady Mae, a socialite who embodies the modern aspects of women Selfridge is aiming to celebrate. She provides important social connections to make Harry’s dreams a reality. Frances O’Connor of Picadilly Jim will play Harry’s wife. Mr. Selfridge is the working title, and it’s all based on a true story, as told in the book Shopping, Seduction, and Mr. Selfridge by Lindy Woodhead.

With Entourage wrapping up, Piven won’t be seeing much downtime, it seems. The success of Downton Abbey here in the U.S. makes this project promising, and with an American as the lead character and star, it should interest U.S. audiences even more. Sadly, we’ll have to wait for the show to hit British television and then make its way over here.

ITV has apparently been on the hunt for a high-profile American actor for the starring role in a series they have set to begin production in April, and they may have found one in Jeremy Piven. Word is, the Entourage star is in talks to star in the 10-episode ITV drama series Mr. Selfridge.

With Entourage having finished its run on HBO, many of us were wondering what Emmy and Golden Globe winning Jeremy Piven would do next. As it turns out, he may be heading over to London for his next TV role. According to Deadline, the star is in talks to play the title role in Mr. Selfridge, a drama based on Lindy Woodhead’s book Shopping, Seduction and Mr. Selfridge. This series is set in 1909 in London and follows “the life of the flamboyant and visionary American entrepreneur, Harry Gordon Selfridge (Piven), and chronicle the launch of his famous London department store Selfridge’s.”

Given the huge success of Downton Abbey, another ITV period piece already sounds appealing. Factor in a star like Piven and it’s likely that people on this side of the pond will be eager to get a look at it. Of course, we have to wait to see if negotiations go through. And then we have to wait for the series to premiere in the U.K. first, which isn’t likely to happen until 2013, and hope it gets picked up over here (Deadline says it will be shopped to U.S.). Still, this is definitely interesting news and it sounds like it could be another great role for Piven, who was a regular scene stealer in HBO’s Entourage.

The red band trailer for Mark Pellington's I Melt With You did quite a good job taking advantage of its restricted nature. Hell, the first scene involves Tom Jane driving around in the desert snorting massive amounts of cocaine. From what I've heard about the film, this kind of behavior isn't exactly rare in the movie, as the four friends at the center of the story experience all kinds of hedonistic pleasures. So what happens when you have to make a trailer that appeals to all audiences? Find out below or in HD over on Apple.

Starring the aforementioned Tom Jane, Rob Lowe, Jeremy Piven, Christian McKay, Carla Gugino, and Sasha Grey, I Melt With You is about a group of friends who meet for their yearly bacchanalia in Big Sur, but this year is a bit different. When the boys were in college, they made a promise to each other that they would keep 25 years later. As the promise rears its head, the men must deal with the consequences. The movie will be available On Demand starting November 4th and will be released in theaters on December 9th.

With the show's eight years coming to a close, my bitterness over the direction that Entourage has taken over the last few seasons is waning. I'm starting to actually feel a bit of nostalgia, a sense of loss for the characters that, at one time, I really did enjoy spending with on my Sunday nights. Well, these feelings can only be amplified a thousand times over for the actual boys that work on the show and this video offers a nice farewell to and from Vince, E, Ari, Drama and Turtle.

I want to take the time to highlight the early years and the pure, escapist fun that the first few seasons had to offer and how it capitalized on a growing cultural phenomenon - the need/want to peek behind the privileged doors of Hollywood and get a taste of the celebrity life. For a while, it tasted pretty good. In fact, I found this final season to be incredibly interesting and a great overall statement on the show. The season was a healthy mix of good fun and bad drama (not Johnny) that reflects the shows overall trend and/or slide from comedy to dramedy to drama. The show worked because it was so breezy. Because it offered us drones access into the perks of being a star not the pitfalls.

The really nice thing about this round table video from The Hollywood Reporter is we get to spend a few final minutes with the boys before the series winds down. They discuss everything from their fond memories of the show and what life may be like beyond their faux-celebrity lives. They also make a point of mentioning the possibility of a spin-off feature film but even that is starting to feel less and less likely, so this weekend could truly be the last time we get to hang with the Entourage.

As much as going to the theater should be an enjoyable experience, there’s nothing wrong with checking out a sad piece. However, nobody goes to the movies to just wade around in a character’s problems; you need to experience the person’s emotional range in order to understand and appreciate their hardships. Unfortunately, in Angels Crest’s case, there’s no variation of sentiment in the least, just one long depressing note.

Thomas Dekker is Ethan, a young father of a 3-year-old boy named Nathan (Ameko Eks Mass Carroll). One cold morning, Nathan wakes up early and convinces his dad to hit the road and take him to the snowy mountains of Angels Crest. By the time they get there, Nathan is fast asleep, so Ethan opts to head out alone to sneak a peek at the local wildlife. Only 20 minutes later, Ethan returns to his truck and Nathan is nowhere to be found. The townsfolk come out to help Ethan and the police look for Nathan, but it isn’t until the next morning that Ethan finds his son, frozen to death, buried in the snow.

Not only is Ethan crushed by the loss, feeling guilty for his carelessness and simply missing his son, but he’s also suffering with the pressure of some of his neighbors who outwardly blame him for the accident, most notably, Nathan’s mother, Cindy (Lynn Collins). However, there are those who sympathize with Ethan’s situation like his good friend Jane (Elizabeth McGovern). As for Angie (Mira Sorvino), the woman who runs the local diner, as much as she empathizes with Ethan, as a mother herself, she can’t help but to notice the poor parenting decision. Worst of all, a local District Attorney (Jeremy Piven) plans to go after Ethan and prosecute him for his negligence.

Clearly, this is a tough one to get through, but nearly appropriately so. Director Gaby Dellal knows exactly what she wants to do with this story and goes for it. Everything from the color palette to the shot composition to the camera movements are meticulously planned, used in a very purposeful manner. This is a major asset in particular for a film dealing with such a gloomy subject. The camera, set design and music help to highlight emotions so the cast doesn’t resort to overly dramatic performances.

While at first it may be tough to digest the rather young looking Dekker as Nathan’s father, ultimately, Dekker convinces you of it. The opening of the film during which Ethan shows off his daddy skills feels a little contrived, but once they hit the woods and we move into Ethan’s darker days, in Nathan’s absence, Ethan’s fatherly side is brutally strong.

The only one to come close to stealing some of the spotlight from Dekker is Collins. Her character is incredibly multidimensional. One minute you’ll loathe her for drowning her problems in alcohol, but the next, she’ll evoke a glimmer of hope suggesting there’s a chance she might come around. Sorvino also finds success as Angie in a similar manner. Throughout most of the film, Angie is completely on Ethan’s side, feeling terribly about what the prosecutor is putting him through, so when she’s put in the position of having to question Ethan’s responsibility, it makes for one of the film’s most memorable scenes.

While McGovern shares an interesting relationship with her partner (Kate Walsh) and her son, in terms of enhancing Ethan’s story, she’s useless. Had that character been cut entirely, perhaps Piven’s DA would have received some much needed additional attention. We’re told a number of times that he’s got a dark past plagued by an event similar to what’s happening to Ethan and that his desperation to punish Ethan is linked directly to it, but that’s just it; we’re merely told and never believe it.

This is an unfortunate issue that tarnishes a great deal of the film, and not just from Piven’s standpoint. Catherine Trieschmann’s adaptation of Leslie Schwartz’s novel is just poorly structured. If it weren’t for Dellal’s impressively telling imagery and this talented cast, it’d be impossible to be engaged in Angels Crest much at all. Once Nathan’s body is found, the piece loses almost all forward motion. For a good portion of the second act, Ethan is merely standing still. He’s being prosecuted and isn’t doing a thing about it. And, even when he does, his plan of action is a bit nonsensical. Worst of all, by the end, no one’s really changed. There are no arcs and therefore no increasing tension making the film’s conclusion sadly anticlimactic.

Miley Cyrus, everyone's favorite drug-taking newly 18-year-old hellion, is keeping her movie career going by growing up a little bit, starring in So Undercover as a private investigator forced to infiltrate a sorority. No, nobody has bothered to explain how a teenager can become a private investigator-- and a "tough, street-smart" one at that-- but the answer is something like "Miley Cyrus is a giant star, so get over it." Now Cyrus will be joined onscreen by two more stars, Jeremy Piven and Mike O'Malley, who as the grown-ups in a teen-centric movie will likely be humiliated several times over at the hands of Cyrus and her pals.

According to the press release announcing the casting Piven will play Special Agent "Armon," which sounds like a villain name if I ever head one, while O'Malley will play Cyrus's father, presumably doing a spin on the thing he does as Kurt's dad on Glee. The cast already includes Gossip Girl's Matthew Settle as Professor Talloway, Josh Bowman as Cyrus's love interest, and a whole flock of actresses playing sorority sisters whose names you may or may not recognize: Kelly Osbourne, Eloise Mumford, Lauren McKnight, Megan Park, Morgan Caluhoun and Alexis Knapp. Tom Vaughan, most recently of Extraordinary Measures, is directing the script by Allan Loeb and Steve Pearl.

Rob Lowe is keeping pretty ridiculously busy these days, signing on as the latest cast member of Parks and Recreation, going into the producing business and even considering buying Miramax. That last plan didn't work out so well, so it makes sense that Lowe is now eyeing another acting role-- don't quit your day job and all that.

The next project will be I Melt With You, a thriller about middle-aged guys dealing with their problems, (because, of course, that's never been done before). Lowe will play a doctor dealing with a growing drug addiction, and Jeremy Piven and Thomas Jane will round out the cast, with a fourth actor presumably to be added very soon. According to Deadline the whole project has come together for director Mark Pellington to the tune of less than $1 million, which means Lowe is either much cheaper than he was in the Brat Pack heyday, or he was so committed to this one he took a steep pay cut. Either way, someone seems bound for some indie cred.

Everyone’s gotta do the obligatory indie flick, right? Even Will Ferrell has done a couple. Remember Winter Passing? Yeah, not many people do, but that means it’s even more indie! The indie flick is a simple gateway to critical acclaim and possible award consideration, and Jeremy Piven is a dude who’s smart enough to catch the train.

According to THR, Piven, along with Thomas Dekker, Lynn Collins, and Kate Walsh, has signed to star in Waska, a film about a young father whose son freezes to death during a fishing trip. Piven will play a prosecutor who goes after the father, while Collins will play the man’s ex-wife. The movie is based on the novel by Leslie Schwartz and will be adapted by Catherine Trieschmann. Gaby Dellal will direct.

It’s always hard to get excited for small movies like these ahead of time. So much depends on performance, direction, and writing rather than the smoke and mirrors that come along with bigger studio pictures. But if anyone is perfect for the role of an ambitious prosecutor out for blood, it’s Piven. There’s definitely reason to be stoked.

Will Ferrell is one of the producers on Jeremy Piven’s upcoming used car salesman comedy The Goods: Live Hard, Sell Hard. So of course that means an awesome Will Ferrell cameo. Maybe his most recent solo projects haven’t exactly panned out, but Ferrell is still king of the one off, completely random, momentary movie appearance.

Jeremy Piven is going above, beyond, and maybe a little bit out of his freakin mind to promote his new movie The Goods: Live Hard, Sell Hard. Monday night he appeared on WWE Monday Night Raw. He was there to host, and walked out into the arena amidst flaming fireworks and the roar of the crowd. And then he, apparently, decided he could beat up John Cena.

I’m no wrestling fan and maybe you aren’t either, but the photos of his encounter are well worth your time either way. Paramount Pictures’ photographers captured him mid-air as he quite literally leaped off the top rope. Take a look:
