Full House remains a highly popular sitcom even more than 30 years after the conclusion of its eight-season run. The beloved TGIF comedy has been kept alive in part due to members of the cast and crew sharing cool behind-the-scenes tidbits about making it. Something I’ve long wondered has to do with Michelle actresses Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen. I never knew how it was decided which twin would film a specific scene. Well, thanks to two of the Olsens’ co-stars, I now have some much-needed clarification.

So much has been said about the Olsen twins’ time on Full House, including the fact that Uncle Jesse actor John Stamos nearly got them fired early on due to their constant crying. So it’s wild to think that I’m only now just getting a sense of how they were selected for scenes. The answer came from series alums Jodie Sweetin and Andrea Barber during an episode of the How Rude, Tanneritos! rewatch podcast. Sweetin recalled squabbles between the twins over wanting to do certain scenes and how that was handled:

Overall, it sounds like a little negotiating had to be done from time to time, depending on what was being filmed. (And, honestly, I can understand the girls’ eagerness to do ice cream scenes.) It’s interesting to think about having to manage such details on a show featuring twins, especially ones so young. Helping to solve those issues was Adria Later, who served as a teacher and acting coach to Ashley and Mary-Kate Olsen. Barber said this of how Later would handle a disagreement over an ice cream scene or one similar:

Throughout Full House’s eight seasons, Michelle has memorable experiences, and one of those actually prompted the discussion on the rewatch podcast. Sweetin (who played Stephanie Tanner) and Barber (who played Kimmy Gibbler) recalled filming the two-part Season 6 episode, “The House Meets the Mouse,” which sees the Tanners and co. heading to Orlando to visit Walt Disney World. There’s a scene in which Michelle gets to take part in a princess float, and Barber theorized about Later’s handling of all that:

It can’t be said for sure just how that particular scene was settled upon. However, Sweetin did bring up one interesting point about the float scene:

Conversely, during the period of the show in which the Olsens were still little, the producers apparently had a preferred twin to work with. Sweetin revealed during a previous episode of the podcast that Mary-Kate apparently didn’t like being on set, while Ashley was “much more docile.” However, as Sweetin also explained, the twins’ cooperation could shift depending on the scene being done.

These BTS facts just shed more light on the intricacies of producing one of the most popular sitcoms of the ‘90s. If anything, I’d love to hear Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen themselves talk about what they can remember from their experiences, as Jodie Sweetin and co. can only field questions about them. Of course, the two sisters – who’ve found massive success in the fashion industry – prefer their privacy, which I can certainly respect. If anything, I’m just pleased to have this latest bit of information on their time sharing the role of Michelle.

For many actors, the possibility of becoming typecast as any one kind of character is a very real hazard, but it still becomes inevitable for quite a few of them. Sitcom stars have felt that burn as often as any, and Jodie Sweetin has addressed how Full House cast members were just as privy to those feelings as anyone else.

Sweetin, who can be seen on stand-up comedy stages and heard on the rewatch podcast How Rude, Tanneritos, popped by Taboo’s Comics & Kicks to talk to the titular host about her lifelong career, and the ups and downs along the way. In the second part of the interview posted to YouTube, she addressed a specific downside to playing fan-favorite TGIF characters like Full House’s Stephanie Tanner and Jesse Katsopolis: others don’t always see them as anything other than those characters. In her words:

Bob Saget experienced a very nuanced version of this, in that he made his mark in comedy with a very blue and perverse stand-up set, which was in direct opposition to Danny Tanner's clean-cut and G-rated personality. But Sweetin said that he eventually learned to lean into those expectations, which led to him taking the hosting gig on America's Funniest Home Videos.

Being a child star in a sitcom didn't exactly help the typecast issues, and it's totally understandable in hindsight why the Olsen twins quit the business to keep working together making millions designing clothes. (They also turned down the chance to return for Fuller House, which Sweetin speaks to later in the interview.)

Jodie Sweetin recalled her own kneejerk reactions to Full House fans at her stand-up shows, and John Stamos' early attempts to distance himself from his Uncle Jesse persona. As she put it:

I'm not immediately sure which movies she's referring to, but I do remember watching his 1993 Tales from the Crypt episode as a kid, specifically because he was in it. He wasn't much like his Elvis-impersonating sitcom character, but was definitely still a ladies man. (That's the kind of stereotype that can work in an actor's favor at times.) Stamos also popped up on The Larry Sanders Show in 1995, the year Full House wrapped, for another "I'm on HBO now" role.

But reaching adulthood and becoming a parent herself can obviously change a person's outlook on things, and Sweetin says that by the time Fuller House became a reality, everyone had moved beyond the early distress over being tied to their characters outside of the show. As she put it:

I have to think the vast majority of TV stars co-hosting rewatch podcasts wouldn't exist if everyone still had the same frame of mind that they did when the shows were still on the air. Spending a few years away from the gig always seems to help.

Meanwhile, earlier in 2026, fellow Full House vet Candace Cameron Bure spoke about another kind of typecasting that riles her up: the way movies and TV shows stereotype Christian characters. But that's a completely different conversation.

There’s no question that playing Stephanie Tanner on Full House was the role of a lifetime for Jodie Sweetin. She painted a different picture, however, when asked about it on The McBride Rewind podcast, saying the Full House well has dried up:

The fact that the talent doesn’t benefit from fans streaming Full House with a Hulu subscription isn’t something that viewers typically give much thought to, but streaming residuals were definitely a hot topic during the SAG-AFTRA strikes in 2023. Abbott Elementary’s William Stanford Davis showed off his 5-cent check at the time, as Mandy Moore opened up about making 81 cents for This Is Us.

Jodie Sweetin says people don’t realize how small that residual income is, or how inconsistent it was even when the dollar amount was higher. She said:

Yikes. I honestly would have thought that role set her up for life. It’s completely understandable that the Olsen twins and Jodie Sweetin have grown in different directions over the years, and I love that the Stephanie Tanner actress has the grace to know that’s OK.

Rider Strong also confirmed he’d heard a similar “trained with food” story, and that he heard that’s why so many Full House shots of the girls are singles. They were simply looking over and waiting to “get a cookie” or other snack if they fulfilled their duties on the show.

This isn’t the first time the food thing has come up, either, leading more credence to Friedle's behind-the-scenes story.

The other day, I was listening to a podcast where Jodie Sweetin was talking with Andrea Barber about the Olsen sisters when they all worked together on Full House. There had been rumors running around for years that Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen were incentivized with food on set, and Sweetin sort of alluded to it in an episode of “How Rude, Tanneritos.”

We’d previously covered when a fan asked, “Was there ever a point where the directors would favor working with one twin over the other?” The answer was Ashley was more into it, and was more easy-going when it came to working scenes. However, Sweetin went on to note they would really only fight when it came to scenes where there would be sweet treats doled out, and they both wanted the snacks.

It’s tough out there to be child actors, and Will Friedle and Rider Strong have also previously touched on this. Regardless, the girls’ agent, Michael Pagnotta, has said they had complete autonomy over where their careers went as they got older, noting it was the Olsens decision when they bailed “on all the entertainment stuff.” Ultimately, at the end of the day, they are in a place now with their lives and careers where they can do what they want, but the public fascination has not subsided, and it may be a long time before it will.

Multiple generations now have grown up with Full House’s Tanner family, and let’s not pretend that we haven’t all thought about what it would be like to live in that iconic Victorian home on San Francisco’s slanted Steiner Street. Full House creator Jeff Franklin bought the house in 2016 and had visions of turning our dreams into a reality by renovating that famous property into a Full House vacation rental experience. Jodie Sweetin explained why it never came to be.

Of course, Full House and later Fuller House were not filmed in San Francisco. The set we know so well, with that wraparound staircase, was far too big for that little Victorian house, but the property became famous from the TV show’s opening credits, which showed the exterior of the famous “Painted Ladies.” Jodie Sweetin, aka Stephanie Tanner, said as much as she told Bob the Drag Queen on his Only Child podcast about what was once planned for the home, saying:

I’m honestly trying to imagine what a scaled-back version of Danny Tanner’s family home would look like, and all I know is that it would be impeccably clean.

Jeff Franklin even apparently got the cast members to come in to make their mark on the property … before things turned sour. Jodie Sweetin continued:

The actress said the house was actually a “nightmare” for it owners and their neighbors, due to how many tourists it attracts to San Francisco’s “Postcard Row.” Neighbors complained to the city about an endless stream of people traipsing around their neighborhood, taking photos of the famous house.

And in a super obnoxious (but kind of funny) move, some fans would apparently drive by the houses blasting the Full House theme song at full volume. It got so bad that, according to Jodie Sweetin:

Jeff Franklin’s Full House Airbnb would seemingly have only brought more attention to the area. Throw in a busted gas line that made the situation better for no one, and Franklin's vision was never fully realized. He ended up selling the house in 2020.

Everyone reunited in 2022 at Bob Saget's "punk rock shiva," which also featured appearances from fellow comedians like Dave Chappelle and Jeff Ross, his pal John Mayer, and the dudes in the Full House cast. Since then, they've gone their separate ways again. It's been three years since the sudden passing of comedian Bob Saget, but his spirit remains in the hearts of fans everywhere, but especially those of the Full House stars keeping him in the conversation with their hilarious stories. I can't help but laugh at the actress' stories about their parents reacting to Saget telling a dirty joke on set.

John Stamos and Lori Loughlin were guests on a recent live episode of Sweetin and Barber's throwback podcast How Rude, Tanneritos!, and the former discussed his parents visiting the set to watch him film episodes on the nights before the studio audience arrived. It's not the first time we've heard this, as the Olsen Twins, even as young as they were during the show, remember the adult cast being pretty inappropriate.

While the Olsen twins alleged the adult cast as a whole could skew inappropriate, the only other offense John Stamos mentioned on the podcast was that Dave Coulier had a "gas problem" when filming. It's not the worst issue in the world, unless you're one of the child actors, who pointed out they were all around eye-level height with his butt at the time. I can imagine it's hard to make it through a scene when you're getting crop-dusted nonstop.

Is this the kind of behavior that would fly on the set of a show premiering on the 2025 TV schedule? One certainly has to wonder, but it's not like producers didn't know what they were getting into when they brought in Bob Saget. The gone-too-soon comedian was performing stand-up for a decade prior to landing the gig as Danny Tanner on Full House, so it's not like his fake offspring were his core audience.

It's also worth noting that even if he might've ruffled the feathers of parents, Bob Saget was still beloved by the cast. We've heard many hilarious stories about him from co-stars like Dave Coulier over the years that mix in his penchant for inappropriate jokes and his overall ability to make others laugh. To be honest, I'd love to see one of those dirty jokes he told in the midst of filming, assuming footage of it exists.

For both actresses (who’ve opened up about things like aspects of the Tanner family they wish were done better and which early Full House episode they hate) this project marks either the first time they’ve watched the show that made them famous, or the first time they’ve rewatched. This naturally means that it brings up lots of memories of working on the sitcom and of the large, continually close-knit cast. Barber noted that she can now understand why so many fans looked up to Saget, and said:

Though Danny was a disco-loving neat freak, he was also a perfectly supportive dad whose positive qualities far outweighed any of his decidedly unhip tendencies. So, it was pretty easy to love Danny as a parent, especially if you were a kid watching who was missing that fatherly touch from your life.

However, while Saget was by all accounts a good dude with a lot of loving friends and an amazing family, the career stand up comedian had fostered a very different persona on stage in comedy clubs. And this is what’s led Sweetin and Barber to feel he had some trouble with being seen only as a cuddly, sweet, and somewhat bland nice guy. Sweetin continued:

With the main thing that led to his fame being his stint on a family show, it does make a lot of sense that Saget would have been stuck in that mold and not know how to really get audiences to understand what seemed like two completely different sides to his personality. As Barber noted:

Luckily, those somewhat hard feelings didn’t persist. Saget (who shared his own thoughts on death and aging in an interview that turned out to be one of his last) had come to terms with his dual legacy as one of TV’s most beloved dads and a truly off the wall comedian enough to spend a good amount of time on Fuller House during its run. As Sweetin added:

I’m sure knowing that Bob Saget became so comfortable with the Danny Tanner side of his actual personality that he was able to fully embrace it makes all the fans who still think of him as America’s Dad very happy.

June is officially upon us, which means things are likely to be a little more colorful for the next 30 days or so. While some may choose to celebrate Pride Month by indulging in one of the powerful biopics celebrating real-life LGBTQ+ icons, others are going full rainbow decor. Jennifer Garner, for one, decorated her trees in a colorful motif, and I love seeing how she and other celebs are kicking off the month.

The actress whose best work includes 13 Going on 30 and Alias declared June her “favorite time of the year,” as that’s when the rainbow trees grow. OK, so maybe the colorfully wrapped trunks got a little help from Jennifer Garner, but it’s hard to argue with the beautiful result, which she showed on Instagram:

Full House premiered on ABC back in 1987, and to this day, the show remains a favorite among many and is arguably one of the best sitcoms of all time. Whether with reruns, streaming it with a Max subscription, or watching the Netflix revival, the Tanner family will forever be one of television’s best families. As for whether another Full House series could ever happen in the future, Jodie Sweetin and Andrea Barber weighed in on the possibility, and they make some good points.

Full House ran for eight seasons, ending in 1995, and then the extended family came back in Fuller House on Netflix for five seasons, from 2016 to 2020. Although Full House didn't need a reboot, that didn't stop Netflix from doing one. There have been some talks about doing another show in the distant future, with Stephanie actress Sweetin even suggesting a Golden Girls-esque spinoff.

She and Barber, who played Kimmy, spoke about doing another show on their podcast, How Rude, Tanneritos! by answering a question from a fan wondering how serious their talks about a Fullest House are, and Barber had a simple three-word answer:

Sweetin agreed with her co-host’s answer, but also elaborated more on it, noting that it’s a bit too soon to do another show, and I can’t say I disagree. Fuller House only ended five years ago, and the series came out over 20 years after Full House ended. But that doesn’t mean that Sweetin hasn’t thought about the perfect way to do another series, because she has, and she is sticking to her Golden Girls idea:

Barber went on to explain that there’s a challenge to doing another spinoff of Full House so soon, and it certainly makes sense. Although it would be fun to follow a similar format that Full House and Fuller House did, there’s only so much that can be done and so many characters that fans will actually want to follow. Hence, the Golden Girls idea:

Obviously, the kids in Fuller House were interesting, and it was fun to see DJ and Kimmy as moms and Stephanie as an aunt (later a mother), but the reason why Fuller House did so well and came to be in the first place was because it centered on the original characters that people grew up with.

That’s not to say longtime Tanner fans don’t care about the kids in Fuller House, but they would certainly be interested in the original characters. And Sweetin knows what kind of place would be perfect to revisit them in:

Sweetin continued to say that she sees the characters in their late 60s, and they come back and are very much still who they have always been. Barber added that Stephanie, Kimmy, and DJ are all living together in the same retirement community. Honestly, I would love it. Of course, anything new with Full House would be hard without Bob Saget, who died in 2022, but a Fullest House set in a retirement community sounds perfect.

It's honestly hard to believe that we're about to hit the five-year anniversary of Fuller House's series finale. The Full House sequel series famously reunited the original cast, including Jodie Sweetin, as she reprised her role as Stephanie Tanner. Sweetin is one of a select group of actors who's been able to reprise a role she played as a child. Now, she's explaining how that opportunity impacted her view of the OG series, and I love her take.

It's no secret that to this day, Full House remains one of the most beloved TGIF shows from the '90s. During an interview with People, Jodie Sweetin was specifically asked about the enduring popularity of the series and her time on the spinoff. It would seem that her stint on the newer show, which is available to stream with a Netflix subscription, helped her shed some preconceived notions she had as a teen actor:

Considering the somewhat cheesy and goofy nature of the ABC sitcom, it's understandable as to why Jodie Sweetin felt somewhat embarrassed as a teen. Regardless of that, Full House (which you can stream with a Max subscription) still struck a chord with viewers. Sweetin's own performance as the cheeky Stephanie also garnered much love from fans.

Sweetin recalled that her own feelings shifted with every passing year. What I love about the actress' comments is the fact that her comments indicate a natural sense of maturity that come with age. With that, she's also come to realize just how important this TV franchise is to so many people, which I love. And, with that, comes a considerable amount of gratitude as well:

It’s so wonderful to hear that The Heiress and the Handyman alum now has such a positive perception of the sitcom that made her a star. This is quite significant, considering that just several years ago, Sweetin admitted to not having seen a Full House episode. Now, she hosts a rewatch podcast, How Rude, Tanneritos!, alongside co-star Andrea Barber, on which they dig deep into each installment of the eight-season show.

As for Fuller House, the show allows for Stephanie to grow in a myriad of ways. She blows in from London to help sister D.J. raise her children and, by the end of the show, she's a married woman with a child of her own on the way.

Overall, Jodie Sweetin seems to still hold a special place in her heart for both Full House and its follow-up, which I love so much. She even still owns Stephanie's Mr. Bear, and that's a testament to her affection for the series. Hopefully, Sweetin will continue to hold onto the positive feelings she has. For eight seasons, Jodie Sweetin and Candace Cameron Bure starred as sisters on the hit ABC sitcom Full House and, years later, they reprised their roles for the sequel series, Fuller House. The ensemble casts of both shows are famously close, and that’s long been the case for Bure and Sweetin. However, their relationship seemed to hit a rough patch after Bure made comments about “traditional marriage” as it pertained to her new gig at Great American Family. Now, Sweetin is getting real about what actually went down between them.

Candace Cameron Bure, who’d long worked with Hallmark, left the network for Great American Family in 2022. Around that time, the veteran actress gave an interview in which she said that the movies she’d produce for the company would keep “traditional marriage” at its core. JoJo Siwa, Hilarie Burton and more chastised Bure for her remarks, and Jodie Sweetin later chimed in, without specifically naming her former co-star as well. Making note of her status as an LGBTQ+ ally, Sweetin defended Siwa and expressed support.

The longtime Stephanie Tanner actress’ activism came up during her appearance on The Vault Podcast. One of the co-hosts noted that she and her co-star hold very differing views and said that the two had “gotten into it” due to their difference of opinion on the LGBTQ+ community. However, the star went on to provide some clarity on that front:

Jodie Sweetin was later asked to shed a bit more light on the nature of her relationship with Candace Cameron Bure, specifically in regard to how they interact with each other at public events. With that, Sweetin went on to describe what sounds like a relatively civil relationship akin to one between relatives:

Shortly after the “traditional marriage” brouhaha, it was suggested that there was beef between the two former child stars. It appeared that Candace Cameron Bure unfollowed her former co-star on social media. Around that time an unnamed source also alleged that Bure was unhappy with Jodi Sweetin making public comments as opposed to speaking about the matter with her one on one. On top of that, Bure was also candid about the backlash she received, saying she’d never experienced that kind of blowback.

Though Jodie Sweetin and Candace Cameron Bure eventually disagreed again over the “last supper” moment at the 2024 Summer Olympics, it’d been reported that the two are on relatively good terms. In 2023, they also reunited at ‘90s Con alongside co-stars Dave Coulier, Andrea Barber and more. Based on Sweetin’s comments and what’s transpired in the time since Bure’s comments hit the web, it seems the two still love and respect each other, even if they don’t see eye to eye on every topic.

It’s amazing that 40 years after initially meeting on Full House — and some even continuing to appear on the 2025 TV schedule — the cast members remain so close. This is especially true given the actors’ wide age range and differing comedic sensibilities. However, Jodie Sweetin and Andrea Barber got real about a “weird question” they get from fans about just how close they were to their co-stars, and it sounds like people are confusing the Tanners with The Brady Bunch.

Full House Vets Reveal A Question They Get About John Stamos

John Stamos may have played heartthrob Jesse Katsopolis on Full House (streaming with a Max subscription) and the spinoff Fuller House (streaming with a Netflix subscription), but to the young ladies on the show, he was simply Uncle Jesse. That familial dynamic, however, hasn’t kept minds from wondering, and Andrea Barber (aka Kimmy Gibler) addressed that on the How Rude, Tannerinos! podcast, saying:

It’s not even the family thing that is the most disturbing about this question, but the fact that Jodie Sweetin was 5 years old when Full House started (13 by the finale). Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, meanwhile, were 6 months old — 8 years old when it ended.

Even Candace Cameron Bure and Andrea Barber, who were slightly older at 11, were probably a little young to be developing a crush on someone more than 10 years older than them (at least in the earlier seasons). Jodie Sweetin jumped in, adding to what her co-host said:

Technically Jesse wasn’t an uncle to Kimmy, but the dynamic was still there, and Andrea Barber shut down any speculation to the contrary, saying:

The thing is, not all TV casts have been known to keep things 100% platonic. Yeah, I’m talking about you, Brady kids.

Barry Williams Confirmed All The Brady Bunch Kids "Hooked Up"

They may have played step-siblings on The Brady Bunch from 1969 to 1974, but those fraternal relationships didn’t stay chaste off the screen. In celebrating the sitcom’s 55th anniversary last year, Barry Williams told US Weekly:

Sounds like there was a lot going on behind the scenes of The Brady Bunch and in the years that followed. It’s funny that the love connections happened between the actors who played the two oldest stepsiblings (Greg and Marsha), the middle children (Peter and Jan) and the youngest two (annoying TV siblings Bobby and Cindy).

Much to Jodie Sweetin and Andrea Barber’s chagrin, I’m sure, that’s not where the romantic interests stopped. Despite these Brady Bunch rumors driving Susan Olsen nuts, Barry Williams said he did have a crush — if not an affair — with his TV mom Florence Henderson. In the actor’s words:

Was there a kiss at the end of that date?

At least in the case of The Brady Bunch, all of the hookups seemed to be age appropriate (I’m giving Florence Henderson the benefit of the doubt that the Barry Williams affair was one-sided), so it somehow feels less skeezy than any Full House crushes might have. It’s hard to believe that it’s been nearly 40 years since we first met the Tanner family on ABC’s Full House. Many fans who have come to love the show weren’t even born when it premiered in 1987. The Olsen twins hadn’t even had their 1st birthday yet, and now Ashley Olsen is a mom. Candace Cameron Bure has a son who is married. The passage of time is astounding, so seeing throwback pics from a Season 1 party really has me in my feels.

This blast of nostalgia comes to us thanks to Jodie Sweetin, who played middle sister Stephanie to CCB’s DJ and the Olsen twins’ Michelle. On the Instagram page of her podcast How Rude, Tanneritos!, which she co-hosts with Andrea Barber (aka Kimmy Gibler), Sweetin shared some pics from the cast’s Season 1 Christmas party.

Honestly, after seeing those photos, could Jodie Sweetin possibly be cuter? The actress would have been 5 years old at Christmas in 1987, and I am loving her adorable sweater. (Anybody else getting Mr. Bear vibes?)

She’s pictured in the Instagram post with Bob Saget, who played her dad Danny on Full House (which can be streamed with a Max subscription), as well as John Stamos (better known as Uncle Jesse) and Dave Coulier (who I have admittedly called “Uncle Joey,” despite him not being related). Saget looks like a baby himself in that flashback to the ‘80s, and that’s another tough thing to come to terms with regarding time, seeing as it’s been three years since we lost the standup comedian way too soon.

Bob Saget died in January 2022 after suffering what was determined to be a head trauma following a show in Florida. His Full House family has continued to “fill the well,” so to speak, and preserve his memory by sharing stories of their good times together.

On the post, I also love seeing how close John Stamos clearly was with Jodie Sweetin. Stamos seems to have had a prickly relationship with his co-stars in the beginning. He got the Olsen twins temporarily fired, he “pissed off” Bob Saget and he was nervous about being upstaged by the cute kiddos.

But you can’t look at that cute Christmas party pic and think for one second that he wasn’t already smitten with his TV niece.

It’s always a delight when the Full House cast give us glimpses into the past — even if it does make us feel ancient — and we got plenty of that when the actors celebrated the sitcom’s 35th anniversary a couple of years ago. John Stamos also shared a throwback pic of himself with his arms wrapped around both Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen when they were toddlers.

Seeing how much these actors always cared for each other reminds us of why we fell in love with Full House in the first place and why it remains one of the best series on Max right now. Full House is a much-beloved series in the history of television, with many still enjoying reruns with their Max subscription. Most of the cast members love to relive those memories as well, especially Jodie Sweetin and Andrea Barber on their Full House rewatch podcast. However, that doesn’t mean they’re afraid to share their true feelings about some of the sitcom’s rougher moments. They recently revealed the one early episode they say is “easily the worst,” and I think they’re spot-on.

“Sea Cruise,” the fifth episode of Full House’s first season, has been officially dubbed the worst in the eyes of Stephanie Tanner and Kimmy Gibbler portrayers Jodie Sweetin and Andrea Barber. They made their strong opinions known on a recent episode of How Rude, Tanneritos!, on which Barber declared:

On this episode, which originally aired October 16, 1987, Danny (Bob Saget) ships the girls off to grandma’s house so he can enjoy some male bonding time with Jesse (John Stamos) and Joey (Dave Coulier). Despite Danny’s apprehension to move on so soon after his wife’s death, the guys end up on a rickety boat full of women.

Jodie Sweetin agreed with her podcast co-host, though she threw out a couple of possible competitors in the “worst episode” category, saying:

Andrea Barber stood firm, though, saying that in the years they’ve been rewatching all of the Tanner family fun, she hasn’t come across an episode as bad as this one. In her words:

I’ve got to say, I agree wholeheartedly with “Sea Cruise” receiving this designation. Maybe I’m a little biased, since I grew up alongside DJ, Stephanie and Michelle, but doesn’t everybody agree Full House is at its best when the girls are around? Even John Stamos admitted he was nervous early on about getting upstaged by the child actors.

Five episodes into the series, I have to wonder how many people were tuning in to hear the double entendres and innuendo of the three single guys, not to mention their cringe musical numbers, corny dialogue and Jesse's fragile ego.

I was, however, a little surprised at how easily Andrea Barber and Jodie Sweetin came to their conclusion. Given how “uncomfortable” they were watching the DJ episode “Shape Up” from Season 4 — in which Candace Cameron Bure’s character stops eating in hopes of losing weight before Kimmy’s pool party — I thought that might have been in the running.

Of course, we all have our favorite Full House episodes and our least favorite, and with it being one of the best shows to stream on Max right now, you can revisit any of them that you wish.

Full House has not been off the air for 35 years, as it's lived on through syndication and streaming (with a Max subscription) and remains a fan-favorite. With nearly 200 episodes under its belt, the classic TGIF sitcom tackled quite a few socially relevant topics, including subject matter that was heavy for a comedy series. Andrea Barber and Jodie Sweetin have been digging into those subjects for their rewatch podcast, and they recently revealed a DJ Tanner episode that makes them "uncomfortable."

Barber and Sweetin, who played Kimmy Gibbler and Stephanie Tanner, respectively, on Full House and its Netflix revival, Fuller House, rewatched and discussed the Season 4 episode, “Shape Up." The installment sees DJ (Candace Cameron Bure) starving herself to look good for best friend Kimmy’s birthday pool party. During their podcast, How Rude! Tanneritos, the actress talked about the diet culture of the ‘90s. After Barber wondered if such an episode could be made today, Sweetin disagreed with that notion:

In the episode, DJ taped pictures of skinny models on the fridge, would only consume ice cube popsicles and gave her lunch to Kimmy and later Comet the dog. The teen even pushed herself so hard while working out that she collapsed in a gym. She was determined to have the perfect body for the pool party, despite the fact that she was perfectly healthy as is. Andrea Barber also didn't care for the episode:

The podcasters talked about how the storyline was about something that every teenage girl dealt with, which is why it was so visceral to watch. Both stars also seemed to be under the impression that the subject matter could've been handled with more nuance. On top of all that, Jodie Sweetin also recalled how Candace Cameron Bure was sensitive about her body in real life:

The episode was resolved by the end, with Stephanie telling everyone what her older sister was doing and DJ having a talk with her father. It's interesting to think what it's like for a young actor to perform a "very special episode" like this one, and Andrea Barber went on to discuss how the Bure family felt beforehand:

The classic ABC sitcom handled a range of heavy topics throughout its run, including drinking and smoking, with the weight storyline arguably being one of the more memorable episodes. Such a topic is tricky to tackle, and some may agree that it could've been handled better here. On that note, I can completely understand the discomfort that Andrea Barber and Jodie Sweetin had while watching.

Should another another FH revival happen, I don't imagine such a story would be produced. Though, if it did, I'd imagine the writers taking a deft approach and infusing the story with what we know about body positivity. Full House remains a favorite among fans even almost 30 years after it ended, partly because of its easy availability streaming with a Max subscription. There are memorable moments from the TGIF sitcom that are still talked about, including Stephanie’s “Motown Philly” dance in the Season 5 episode “Gotta Dance.” Jodie Sweetin recreated her character’s dance back in August, and now she finally opened up about nailing it after all these years.

In the episode, Stephanie talked Danny into letting her take dance classes, which wound up taking up much of her time and she didn’t realize it until D.J. told her if she had her discipline and dedication, she’d have no life. Not wanting to take the class anymore and put her relationships first, Stephanie purposely messed up the dance during the recital but after a talk with Danny, she apologized to her fellow dancers. They went back out and absolutely killed the Boyz II Men song.

33 years later, Sweetin and artist Mitchell Gerrard Johnson recreated the viral dance, complete with matching outfits, and they got quite a lot of praise. Take a look, if you missed it over the summer:

Considering a lot of time has passed, it was certainly impressive that Sweetin was able to do the dance pretty perfectly. I was impressed with just little Sweetin nailing the dance all those years ago; doing it again years later is pretty great and a fun Full House throwback. The actress spoke to PEOPLE about recreating the dance and the process, and it’s almost as if the routine never left her:

Props to Sweetin for managing to do the dance perfectly and to look good while doing it. It’s unknown if she will be recreating any more dances or scenes from Full House or Fuller House, but it’s clear that it’s a quick study for her if she'd known the steps way back when.

This isn’t the first dance of Stephanie’s that was recreated and it hopefully won’t be the last since the middle Tanner sister was quite the little dancer. And for Sweetin, it seems like all it takes is for her to rewatch a video and practice it a few times in order to nail it. There was a great callback to Full House in Fuller House when Jimmy Gilbert did the infamous “Love Shack” dance from Season 3’s “Our Very First Telethon,” complete with the outfit. It just shows how iconic Stephanie Tanner was and is and how she will always have an impact on Jodie Sweetin.

Full House is perfect for your next long-binge and there’s a reason it hasn’t been off the air in 35 years. The show is still beloved by many, and much of the cast is still close. I can’t wait to see what other memorable moments are hopefully recreated in the future.

Sabrina The Teenage Witch (Andrew Walker)

If you missed out on the hit comedy Sabrina the Teenage Witch, then you also missed Three Wise Men and a Baby star Andrew Walker as a co-worker of Sabrina’s, Cole Harper, when she worked at Scorch Magazine. Sure, he was arrogant and sometimes clashed with our teen witch, but he also gave her some good advice at times and seemed to have a somewhat well-hidden crush on her, so he wasn’t all bad.

Letterkenny (Tyler Hynes)

You could be forgiven for missing the appearances of Andrew Walker’s fellow Three Wiser Men and a Boy star Tyler Hynes during his time in Seasons 8-10 of the oddball Canadian comedy hit, Letterkenny, considering just how many wild and wonderful characters are present. Hynes portrayed Katy’s charming (and hated by many other men) boyfriend, Dierks Rensburg-van-Koeverdan, who simply couldn’t comply with Wayne’s edit that he treated Katy right, and paid the price for it.

Battlestar Galactica (Paul Campbell)

We might as well tackle the third Wise Man from that Hallmark franchise, and give you another spot to watch Paul Campbell. One science fiction series that likely took some by surprise was the reboot of Battlestar Galactica, which ran on Syfy from 2004-2009. For Seasons 1 and 2 he played Billy Keikeya, the kind aide to President Roslin after the Cylon attack destroyed the colonies.

Sister, Sister (Tamera Mowry-Housley)

Tamera Mowry-Housley has been a star since her early days, so we shouldn’t forget the series that made her (and her twin sister, Tia) famous as teens in the ‘90s, Sister, Sister. The family comedy starred Mowry-Housley as suburban twin Tamera, who goes shopping with her adoptive dad only to run into the twin sister she was separated from at birth.

Mean Girls (Lacey Chabert, Jonathan Bennett)

Honestly, if you didn’t already know about this one, well, it’s possible that you maybe haven’t been paying as much attention to your Hallmark faves as you could. You may know Ashley Williams from movies like Two Tickets to Paradise and Never Kiss a Man in a Christmas Sweater, but long before those starring roles she popped up as Ted’s girlfriend/would-be fiancée Victoria on How I Met Your Mother for several seasons, including Season 1 after their eyes meet from across a room at a wedding. And, many fans think she should have been the real “mother” at the end.

Sister, Sister led to lots of other opportunities for the Mowry twins, and those included Twitches. Known for playing smart/hot guys in Hallmark movies like Wedding at Graceland, Sweet Pecan Summer, and the Haul Out the Holly franchise, you’ll get a very different Wes Brown if you check out his Season 2 stint on HBO’s hit fantasy, True Blood. Brown played Luke McDonald, a member of a vampire/magical being-hating religious cult, who comes to a shocking end.

We hate to tell all the One Tree Hill fans this, but Gilmore Girls’ Tristin Dugray walked so that Chad Michael Murray’s Lucas Scott could run. Tristin was rich, popular and entitled, and nothing he did could quite convince Rory to leave Dean for him, though there are likely some fans who think he should have been her end-game romance.

Before leading films like A December Bride, Christmas at Pemberley Manor and Angel Falls Christmas (with Chad Michael Murray), Lowndes played the consistently troubled teen Adrianna Tate-Duncan for five seasons on The CW revival of 90210.

Chicago Med (Jessy Schram)

If you’ve been wondering where to watch Jessy Schram, the star of films like Harvest Moon, Royal New Year’s Eve, Country at Heart and A Nashville Christmas Carol, look no further than your local NBC station. Since 2020, Schram has starred on Chicago Med as Dr. Hannah Asher, an OB/GYN who starts the series with a major secret.

The Sandra Bullock/Hugh Grant comedy Two Weeks Notice will likely go down in history as one of the rom-coms that are better than people remember them to be, but one of the things that makes it good is Alicia Witt’s performance as June Carver, the potential replacement for Bullock’s Lucy, who works alongside Grant’s George. It’s a small role, but one that helps George see the error of his ways.

As you can see, there are numerous places to see the Hallmark actors you love away from the network’s famed romances!

There were quite a few main characters to keep up with on Full House, given all the Tanners, Katsopolises, Gladstones (I guess just one of those) and Gibblers (depending on how many siblings Kimmy actually had). Honestly, with the sitcom sporting that title, that’s pretty much to be expected. But in addition to all of those San Franciscans, there were the non-human members of the family, like Comet and Mr. Bear. The latter was a really important keepsake for Stephanie, and it just so happens that Jodie Sweetin knows where Mr. Bear resides today.

For all eight seasons of Full House and then years later on the spinoff Fuller House, Jodie Sweetin portrayed middle sister Stephanie Tanner, and while her childhood toy Mr. Bear only made a handful of appearances, any fan can tell you how important he was. So where is he now? The actress divulged to People:

No need to fret, Full House fans, because Mr. Bear is right where he should be — with Stephanie, still after all these years. The stuffed animal has a pretty heart-wrenching origin story, as it was revealed in Season 2 of the beloved ABC sitcom that Stephanie’s late mother had gifted her Mr. Bear when Michelle was born (DJ got a charm bracelet). That would have been shortly before her mom passed away, making it an even more meaningful gift. (No, I am definitely not crying.)

Jodie Sweetin specified that she holds the “original” bear, because every good cast member needs a stunt double, right? The actress explained:

It’s very appropriate that of all the props the Full House cast took from the set, Jodie Sweetin was able to secure Mr. Bear. It’s also way more practical than John Stamos taking the iconic couch. Dave Coulier revealed that he got to take his woodchuck, while Andrea Barber, who played Kimmy Gibbler, took all of her character’s fun accessories, and Candace Cameron Bure kept her Pillow Person.

I’m proud of all of the cast members for making excellent choices, and maybe it’s because of the whole mom angle, but I still feel like Mr. Bear is the most sentimental.

Thanks to streaming, classic sitcoms like Full House continue to be a big part of people’s lives. Arguably, it's one of the best shows streaming on Max. Plus, in addition to the retro TV theme song that still slaps, there are plenty of iconic and viral moments in the TGIF series. Now, thanks to the internet, Jodie Sweetin was able to recreate one of those viral moments.

In the Season 5 episode “Gotta Dance,” Stephanie decides to pursue dancing full time before ultimately realizing that it’s completely taken over her life and she’s missing out on everything and everyone. However, she does one last dance recital, and after purposely messing up the first time, she and her fellow dancers completely crush it while dancing to “Motownphilly” by Boyz II Men.

Then, in a new Instagram video from artist Mitchell Gerrard Johnson, he and Sweetin pulled out matching outfits nearly identical to the ones in Full House and recreated the legendary moment, check it out:

Talk about nostalgia! I feel like I was transported back!

That “Mototownphilly” dance was already mesmerizing, and the fact that Sweetin and the rest of the dancers were just kids made it all the more impressive. From the start of the series, it was clear that Stephanie was a dancer, whether she was doing ballet or hip hop or anything else. It was only just a matter of time before the series had her putting all of her focus on the art, and it wasn’t so surprising that she wanted to take a step back due to the full commitment. Luckily, she still wanted to do that final number, and it’s a good thing she did.

It's been almost 33 years since that episode premiered, and it still remains a favorite among fans today, myself included. Seeing Jodie Sweetin recreating it, outfit and all, is perhaps one of the best things ever. She also proved that she’s still got, even after all these years. In the comments, she shared that she had the “BEST time” recreating the moves, and now I need more.

“Motownphilly” is not the only Stephanie dance that has been recreated. Fans will remember that a great Full House callback on Fuller House saw Jimmy Gibbler recreate the “Love Shack” dance from the telethon episode in Season 3, and it was as perfect and surprising as ever. Once again, the outfit made it even better. Now all I need recreated is Stephanie's portrayal of a swan from the first season for her ballet recital, and I'll be an even happier camper.

Full House holds a special place in the hearts of many kids who grew up in the ‘90s, with that retro TV theme song and its wholesome family antics. The Netflix spinoff Fuller House even introduced a whole new generation to the Tanner family. As beloved as the shows remain, there are plenty of inconsistencies that continue to baffle fans, and Andrea Barber — who played Kimmy Gibbler on both series — recently revealed that she pushed back about one specific detail of her character’s lore on Fuller House because she knew fans would have a problem with it. Turns out, she was right, because she’s “still hearing about it.”

Andrea Barber Knew Fans Would Take Issue With Kimmy’s New Brother

Kimmy Gibbler’s family is one of the biggest anomalies in the Full House universe, made only more confusing by the fact that we never saw Kimmy Gibbler’s parents or any other family members — at least until Fuller House. The only one of Kimmy’s siblings who was even given a name in the original series was her brother Garth, and that’s why Andrea Barber knew that introducing a different brother on the spinoff was going to be a major headache for her. She explained on her How Rude, Tanneritos! podcast:

Jimmy, played by Adam Hagenbuch, ended up being a pretty important character on Fuller House after his introduction in the Season 2 premiere.

Adam Hagenbuch appears in 36 episodes, with Jimmy eventually marrying and having a daughter with Jodie Sweetin’s Stephanie Tanner. As for Andrea Barber’s prediction, was she right about the questions, DMs and emails? She confirmed:

Until people stop streaming Full House and Fuller House, I guess! Unfortunately for Andrea Barber, she knew that the team that created Jimmy Gibbler wouldn’t be the people who would have to answer to the fans wondering why he was never mentioned on the flagship series. So just how complicated is the Gibbler family tree?

Full House’s Gibbler Family Remains Confusing, Even For The Actors

In the Full House premiere, way back in 1987, it was established that DJ Tanner’s BFF, easily one of TV’s most annoying characters, had three older sisters, though they weren't spoken of again. Later in the series Kimmy mentions her older brother Garth. In the Season 3 episode “Divorce Court,” Kimmy also says that she’s glad her mom stopped having kids after her, so it could be presumed that the ever-present neighbor was the youngest of five Gibbler siblings.

When Jimmy appears on Fuller House, however, he’s introduced as Kimmy’s younger brother who Stephanie hasn’t seen since he was “a scrawny little kid.” Sounds like the Gibbler parents weren’t done after all!

Strangely, though, Jodie Sweetin pointed out on the podcast that neither Garth nor any of their potential sisters appeared at the big triple wedding. (Which I guess isn't so strange if you consider that the Olsen twins never returned either!)

In less than a week, the 2024 Summer Olympic Games (which are streamable) have garnered much attention, though that’s not simply because of the competitions. Last week’s opening ceremony drew a myriad of responses from across the Internet. A number of people took issue with the performance from drag queens, who were believed to be recreating Leonardo da Vinci’s The Last Supper as part of the show. One of the most notable individuals to slam the show was actress Candace Cameron Bure, who called it “disgusting.” Now, Bure’s Full House co-star, Jodie Sweetin, is weighing in and, in doing so, she’s seemingly reopened her past alleged feud with her on-screen sister.

What Did Jodie Sweetin Say About The Olympics Opening Ceremony?

Candace Cameron Bure shared her thoughts in a video, stating that she usually finds “joy” in the Olympics but was displeased when seeing “opening ceremony completely blaspheme and mock the Christian faith.” Religious entities have even called out the performance, with the Catholic Church calling it a “mockery” of Christianity. However, it would seem that Jodie Sweetin doesn’t hold that same viewpoint.

The actress took to her Instagram story this week to repost a clip shared by actor Walter Masterson. In it, Masterson lampoons a conversation of a person trying to explain the ceremony to someone who’s apparently uninformed. The video shows Masterson attempting to convey that the opening ceremony was based around the Greek god Dionysus as opposed to The Last Supper. Aside from resharing the clip in her stories post, the Hollywood Darlings alum also included a caption that you can see below:

Since the performance, the organizers of the event have since apologized. Artistic director Thomas Jolly released a message that was shared with the Associated Press. In it, he explained that the intention of the ceremony was not to mock Leonardo da Vinci’s painting. Jolly stated that the true purpose of the segment was “to send a message of love, a message of inclusion and not at all to divide.” So far, the responses have been mixed and, amid that, it seems evident that there’s a difference of opinion between the Fuller House alums.

When Did Candace Cameron Bure And Jodie Sweetin Previously Disagree On Something?

As previously alluded to, this isn’t the first time that Jodie Sweetin and Candace Cameron Bure have been on opposite sides of a situation. They previously disagreed when Bure – one of the stars who left Hallmark for Great American Family – stated in 2022 that the latter network would keep traditional marriage mostly ingrained in its storytelling. Actress Hilarie Burton was among the stars not pleased with the comments, and singer JoJo Siwa – a member of the LGBTQ+ community – expressed disappointment as well. Siwa subsequently received support from Sweetin. Cameron Bure later explained her comments, saying that she has “great love and affection for all people.”

Sources later suggested that there was bad blood between the two former on-screen sisters. At one point, an insider claimed that Mrs. Cameron Bure was “upset” that her ex-co-star seemed to publicly slight her by siding with JoJo Siwa. Neither star ever officially confirmed that they were feuding at the time. Regardless, they eventually reunited after the “traditional marriage” situation during ‘90s Con back in the summer of 2023. Both have since seemed to be on good terms.

Whether this matter involving the Olympics’ opening ceremony will put a dent in the relationship between Candace Cameron Bure and Jodie Sweetin remains to be seen. And it also remains to be seen whether additional comments on the show will be made by either the two of them or by other celebrities.

It’s easy to see how the child actors who starred on Full House in the late ‘80s and early ‘90s formed real relationships with each other. Candace Cameron Bure, Jodie Sweetin, Mary-Kate Olsen and her twin sister Ashley spent eight years of their childhoods playing the Tanner sisters, and just like in any family, different dynamics formed between the individual actors. Sweetin recently opened up about what that was like, explaining why she and the Olsen twins were much closer than her and Bure back then.

Jodie Sweetin took some time away from her How Rude, Tanneritos! podcast to sit down with former co-star Dave Coulier on his show Full House Rewind, and when the Joey Gladstone portrayer asked if she’d been closer to Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen or Candace Cameron Bure, Sweetin did not have to think about it, telling the host: 

That makes a lot of sense, especially when considering that Candace Cameron Bure had older siblings who gave her the same kind of grief she would go on to pass down to her TV sister. 

At that age I'm sure Bure was more comfortable hanging out with Andrea Barber or Scott Weinger when he joined the series in 1991. While most little sisters do crave their older siblings’ attention, it doesn’t sound like Jodie Sweetin was too upset about playing big sis to Ashley and Mary-Kate. The Stephanie actress continued: 

Because the Full House cast has remained so close, we’ve been privy to some of the inevitable drama over the years. For example, some people (i.e. John Stamos) were angry when the Olsen twins didn’t want to reunite with the rest of the cast for Fuller House (although Jodie Sweetin had the best explanation for why that was). Dave Coulier has confirmed that they “bicker” with one another just like any family, and we all know about the supposed feud that allegedly caused Candace Cameron Bure to unfollow Sweetin on Instagram.

But it’s been a pleasure for those of us who grew up with the Tanners to see all the good moments, too, like their reunion at Jodie Sweetin’s wedding and how they came together following Bob Saget’s death. 

Jodie Sweetin may not see as much of the Olsen twins these days as her other co-stars, as they continue to reunite for 90s Con, podcasts and other Full House-related projects, but there’s likely nothing that can break that sibling bond that formed so early in their lives. When celebrities visit Disneyland they often get the VIP treatment, potentially getting access to opportunities the rest of us don’t. Or in the case of being a Kardashian, riding the teacups alone. However, it turns out that just being on TV isn’t quite enough to get into all the most exclusive locations. Sometimes even Full House’s Stephanie Tanner needs some help from her Uncle Jesse to have the ultimate Disneyland experience.

Jodie Sweetin posted some pictures to Instagram which showed herself and her daughter Zoie, who was celebrating her 16th birthday. The mother and daughter clearly had a blast, experiencing some of the best rides at Disneyland, but the highlight was having dinner at Disneyland's exclusive Club 33, an experience which happened thanks to Jodie’s “Uncle J,” as noted Disney Adult John Stamos was the one who arranged the meal.

It’s unclear if John Stamos is a Club 33 member or just a celebrity with the sort of pull that can get people into places at Disneyland. Club 33 membership is limited, and quite expensive, though the park has frequently hosted celebrities and other VIPs who are not members for individual meals. 

Considering that Stamos is a massive Disney fan, it certainly wouldn’t be that surprising if he was one of the few Club 33 members. The exclusive dining location, which was for years the only place you could purchase alcohol inside the park, reportedly has an extensive waiting list for membership despite its steep price tag and annual dues. Though membership comes with an annual pass and other perks, so it’s probably a solid deal if you can afford it. 

The picture at the foot of the Club 33 stairwell, which seems to be required when you go there, everybody who goes has one, looks amazing with these two ready for dinner. As a scarf fan myself, Sweetin looks great here. 

There are no images from inside Club 33 because Disneyland doesn’t allow pictures to be taken inside, though some celebrities have gotten in trouble for breaking that rule. Rebel Wilson, another noted Disney Adult, was banned from the park for a month for taking pictures inside the bathroom. 

Now I just need to find my Uncle Jesse who can set me up with access to Club 33. It’s definitely a bucket list item for me, as it was for Sweetin and her daughter, who call it a “lifelong dream” to have dinner there.

In addition to eating at Club 33, I'm also looking for a sponsor to experience dinner at 21 Royal. Even though I would certainly write about it, I’m not sure CinemaBlend would let me expense the most expensive dinner at Disneyland. Of course, for those of us who can't get into the exclusive places, there's still plenty of great food at Disneyland that we can have.

In January 2022, many of us were met with the tragic news that Bob Saget had died at the age of 65 due to head trauma he sustained. The comedian was widely mourned by fans as well as fellow celebrities across Hollywood. Aside from his family, those who seemed to take his passing particularly hard were his co-stars from Full House. Many of them, including John Stamos and Candace Cameron Bure, have honored Saget in the time since he departed this life. Most recently though, Bure, Stamos and a few others got together to pay tribute to the late comedian on the two-year anniversary of his death.

It’s honestly hard to believe that the late star has already been gone for so long. His longtime friends and colleagues from the hit ABC sitcom and its Netflix sequel series still seem to be processing it as well. Jesse Katsopolis actor John Stamos released a joint message alongside Joey Gladstone portrayer Dave Coulier on Instagram. The post included a video clip of the two actors discussing their late co-star alongside fellow castmates Jodie Sweetin, Candace Cameron Bure and Andrea Barber. Stamos, while speaking, admitted that he’s “not sure” how to feel as he begins to adjust to his buddy’s absence. That was the kind of sentiment that was conveyed in the caption: 

As emotional as those thoughts are, the conversation amongst the cast members (who assembled virtually) was even more moving. Jodie Sweetin opened up about sometimes feeling that she still sees her on-screen dad out of the corner of her eye. Dave Coulier and Andrea Barber discussed their fun phone correspondences with the Danny Tanner actor, which included long-winded songs and humorously neurotic calls. Candace Cameron Bure shed tears after her TV uncle revealed a clip from her wedding day. While Bure misses her mentor, she mentioned that she takes solace in being able to grieve alongside others. This cast has always seemed close, and it’s moments like these that further drive home that point. If you ask some of them, they would argue that their bond was maintained by Bob Saget. Stamos referred to him as “the glue” that held their ensemble of actors together through thick and thin. To that point, during this latest meet-up, Dave Coulier sweetly mentioned that Saget “gave” them the tender moment they were having together. That’s a lovely sentiment if there ever was one.

The tight-knit group has also remained close with the America's Funniest Home Videos alum’s family, including his widow, Kelly Rizzo, and three daughters from his previous marriage to Sherri Kramer. Shortly after the stand-up comedy veteran’s death, Rizzo thanked fans for helping her cope with the grief. She and John Stamos also appeared at an awards ceremony, where they accepted an honor on the star’s behalf. 

It would be a gross understatement to say that there’s a serious void not just in the world of comedy but in society as a whole now that Bob Saget is no longer with us. What’s comforting, though, is that his memory will live on, and that’s not just because of his exceptional work. In the history of television there have been a number of series which have brought joy and laughs to millions of people for years on end, and the hit ‘90s family sitcom Full House is definitely counted among that number. It’s no secret that stars like John Stamos, Jodie Sweetin and Andrea Barber kept in touch over the years and like to reminisce, but now they’ve opened up about getting death threats during the original show.

What Did John Stamos And Jodie Sweetin Say About Getting Death Threats During Full House?

Considering how close the Full House cast has been over the decades, I never would have guessed that there was any real strife behind the scenes or danger to be endured for the actors. However, John Stamos recently revealed that he “pissed off” Bob Saget in the early days, and now he and Jodie Sweetin have talked about getting death threats during the show. Stamos sat down with Sweetin and Andrea Barber for their podcast, How Rude, Tanneritos!, and eventually asked the duo if they remember him getting death threats, to which Barber replied:

Well, if anything, that sounds like classic Bob Saget, doesn’t it? Obviously, this was a very tense time for Stamos, who was no stranger to the intense attention that can come from stardom because of his time on General Hospital in the early ‘80s. I don’t know if he was able to laugh at his co-star’s joke at the time, but he certainly had a good giggle about it while looking back on the incident. Stamos continued, explaining:

Can you even imagine? Thank goodness the Uncle Jesse actor wasn’t around and the woman who spoke to his would-be attacker knew how to respond. Apparently, the next step was to alert the production, and Stamos said that he was called into the “Willy Wonka” like office of executive producers Thomas L. Miller and Robert L. Boyett for them to explain the situation, which sounds like it was a bit of a surreal experience, considering they called him “John John” and had “candy everywhere” and “weird little dogs” littering the space.

While Sweetin herself recently admitted to probably being “annoying” to co-star Candace Cameron Bure in the early years of the comedy, she also has an unfortunate death threat story, which she relayed to her co-stars:

Ugh…I remember watching other kids on TV when I was young myself and thinking they must be having so much fun. Of course it never occurred to me that you could be a child on a sitcom with a classic TV catchphrase and end up getting death threats! Barber also explained that the young girls on the show frequently got “letters from men in prison asking for specific photos of us as children.” It clearly doesn’t get more gross or scary than that.

Luckily, no harm came to any of the cast, and they were all (minus those pesky Olsen twins, who did make up for turning down an appearance when they attended Saget’s funeral) able to safely bring fans a much beloved reunion.

Candace Cameron Bure faced quite a bit of backlash last year with her comment about “traditional marriage” remaining at the core of Great American Family’s holiday programming, but possibly the criticism that hit closest to home came from her TV sister Jodie Sweetin. The Full House alums were rumored to be feuding after Sweetin publicly supported those opposing Bure’s statement. However, could a recent social media post from the DJ Tanner actress and comment from Sweetin about another spinoff be signs that they’ve buried the hatchet?

In addition to starring as sisters DJ and Stephanie for eight seasons on Full House, the actresses reprised their roles for the spinoff Fuller House from 2016 to 2020. After playing sisters for so long, t’s easy to see how that bond could bleed into real life, and while there may have been some sibling squabbles over the years, Candace Cameron Bure had only love for Jodie Sweetin when she shared a throwback pic of the “She-Wolf” pack that comprised the two of them and Kimmy Gibler portrayer Andrea Barber: 

The post makes no reference to the current state of their friendship, but it’s still a promising sign that Candace Cameron Bure wanted to share the sweet, tulle-filled memory. While Andrea Barber liked the post and commented that the photo showed one of the “funniest moments ever,” it didn’t appear that Jodie Sweetin had reacted. It’s unclear whether or not the actresses follow each other on Instagram, after Bure reportedly unfollowed Sweetin amidst the drama.

However, further proof that last year’s brouhaha might be water under the bridge involved an idea Jodie Sweetin recently discussed about another Full House spinoff. While feelings are mixed about whether or not the cast would want to do another show without Bob Saget — who died in January 2022 — the Stephanie Tanner portrayer didn’t rule it out completely, saying maybe when the She-Wolf pack reaches “Golden Girls age.” 

Jodie Sweetin has brought the idea of a senior-citizen-centered “Fullest House,” up before, and the fact that another project with Candace Cameron Bure is still something she’d considered definitely seems like an indication that things are fine between them. The duo, along with Andrea Barber, were also all smiles when they reunited for 90s Con in September.

John Stamos, another Full House alum, recently alluded to possible problems between the show’s cast members, saying that there were “some dynamics going on” that Bob Saget likely would be able to heal if he were still around. However, he may not have been referring to Candace Cameron Bure and Jodie Sweetin’s beef, as he added that, “It’s not what you think it is.”

Dave Coulier — aka “uncle” Joey Gladstone — also addressed Full House cast squabbles, saying disagreements are part of every family, but that doesn’t mean they don’t love each other. Candace Cameron Bure said as much herself, assuring fans that “the love’s always there.”

Just how much the events of the past year have affected the relationship between Candace Cameron Bure and Jodie Sweetin is unknown, but it seems clear from both TV sisters that there is still love between them. It’s been three years since Fuller House came to an end on Netflix, and fans had to say goodbye to the Tanner family once again after the original Full House wrapped in 1995. It’s hard to not think about another potential reboot or revival of the TGIF series, especially since it is still loved to this day. There have been discussions, or at least ideas, of another show, and Jodie Sweetin has a pretty great idea of when the next one should be.

Sweetin opened up to Hollywood Life about how another Full House series “would never be the same” without on-screen dad Bob Saget, who died in 2022 at 65. She definitely does make a really good point, as Jon Stamos has shared that things haven't been the same for the cast since Saget died. Danny Tanner was and is America’s dad, but that doesn’t mean that another series won’t ever happen. The actress has some thoughts on when and what the next Full House show should be, which really would be the only appropriate one without Saget:

This isn’t the first time that Jodie Sweetin has discussed a Golden Girls-esque series. In November 2022, the actress shared that a “Golden Girls version of Full House could happen.” It would likely still follow DJ, Kimmy, and Stephanie, only a lot older this time around. This would be fun for fans who have literally grown up with the series up and a good way to pay tribute to the original series they loved all those years ago.

Since Bob Saget is no longer around, it would definitely be hard to do another Full House show any time soon. Waiting years for another series that pays homage to Golden Girls could be the absolutely perfect scenario. Whether it really happens will remain to be seen for at least a few decades. However, it sounds like no matter what, Sweetin isn’t opposed to playing Stephanie Tanner again. It might just take a while.

The long wait for another Full House series could also be a good time to strengthen some relationships. Sweetin and on-screen sister Candace Cameron Bure had a public fallout after Bure’s comments about “traditional marriage” when she switched over to GAF from Hallmark. The two have had some reunions since then, appearing at ‘90s Con in Connecticut and Florida this year, seemingly burying the hatchet.

Hopefully, the Tanner family will return in some way, shape, or form in the future, be it a Golden Girls version of Full House or maybe even a reunion like Friends and Fresh Prince. It would be a nice way to pay tribute to Bob Saget, but that would also depend on how the rest of the cast feels about it. When you think of an ensemble of actors who are incredibly close, one of the first groups that probably comes to mind is the Full House cast. John Stamos, who famously played Uncle Jesse during all eight seasons, was the latest to drop a nostalgic post, and it featured everyone, including the Olsen twins. And while that was sweet enough, it was Jodie Sweetin’s response that really had me in my feels.

John Stamos has recently been promoting his new book, If You Would Have Told Me: A Memoir, which dives into a number of aspects of his life and career. As part of the campaign, he shared a video to his Instagram, which included vintage BTS footage from his days working on Full House (which can be streamed with a Max subscription). The clip, which is voiced over by Stamos, features sweet moments, from him and co-star Lori Loughlin with their faux twin sons to Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen just looking all-around adorable. Don’t mind me, I've just got something in my eye. But in all seriousness though, this isn’t just a lovely portrait of the 60-year-old actor’s tenure on the show. It’s also a sweet representation of the bond amongst the various stars. I can’t think of a better tribute to this warm ensemble. 

It was probably a given that other members of the cast were going to share thoughts. Joey Gladstone actor Dave Coulier chimed in with a sweet response, expressing his love for his found family and commending his co-star on his new book. But again, Jodie Sweetin’s comment really took the cake and probably aligned with the feelings that fans had when they saw the post: 

How can you not love seeing so much affection shown between these stars? Collectively, the footage and the cast responses to it are bittersweet, especially considering that series star Bob Saget is no longer with us. John Stamos recently described Saget as “the glue” that held the cast together and, at this point, it’s starting to look like Stamos is succeeding him in that position. 

Bob Saget is only one of the topics that John Stamos opens up about in his book, which is incredibly raw. Among the topics he discusses in it (as well as during interviews) are the sexual abuse he experienced at his babysitter’s hand and his battles with alcohol, which Fuller House helped save him from. As you can see based on their messages, Jodie Sweetin, Dave Coulier and more are totally supportive of him, and it makes my heart proud to see how these actors continue to lean on each other.

For so many years, the bulk of the actors at the heart of the beloved sitcoms Full House and Fuller House appeared to be just as close and familial as the Tanners. (And the Gibblers, if we must.) But the cast members’ dynamics appeared to change somewhat in the months that followed Bob Saget’s death in January 2022, with reported feuding between co-stars Candace Cameron-Bure and Jodie Sweetin. John Stamos, who’s previously voiced his dismay over the in-fighting amongst the former co-stars, has reflected on life after Bob, as it were, and thinks that the fictional patriarch would have already brought a halt to background drama. 

Speaking with People in connection with his new memoir If You Would Have Told Me, Stamos talked about the Full House cast’s extended bond that has stayed mostly strong and intact for the past 35 years or so. And while he said some of them are “just as close” as ever, he seemed to be implying that there are more under-the-radar issues than fans are aware of. Here’s how he framed it, with Saget as the central pillar:

The most curious part of that response is Stamos saying “It’s not what you think it is,” which indicates the more public reports shared about Candace Cameron Bure and Jodie Sweetin don’t amount to the entirety of whatever strife is present. The Scream Queens vet isn’t hesitant or too proud to admit that he isn’t the right person to step in and play peacekeeper in Bob Saget’s stead. He isn’t invested with digging into his co-stars’ private lives in such a way, but thinks that the late comedian would have brought the calming sageness to the situation.

By and large, the kerfuffle between Bure and Sweetin has been the only publicly acknowledged feuding amongst Full House alums, which was seemingly based in large part on the former Hallmark star switch to Great American Family, with an eye toward producing holiday movies that adhere entirely to traditional marriage couplings. Those comments set off the LGBTQ+ community and its allies, with JoJo Siwa resurfacing her past issues with Bure in order to criticize the cable network’s limited programming scope, followed by Sweetin showing her own support for Siwa.

None of that back and forth was ever resolved, really, though the D.J. and Stephanie portrayers did sweep any friction under the rug so that they could reunite on stage for multiple appearances at ‘90s Con in 2023. So if they’re still technically cool enough to make that happen, was John Stamos referring to another underlying issue that fans aren’t privy to just yet?

Is everybody finally mad at Dave Coulier for farting in people’s faces while filming Full House all those years ago? Probably not. Perhaps Stamos was referring to the mostly silent-and-invisible Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, whom the General Hospital vet had previously discussed being angry with over their refusal to appear in Fuller House. But he still seems to be cool with them, having congratulated Ashley Olsen on having her first child nearly a year ago.

Whatever the case may be, it’s definitely a bummer that Bob Saget isn’t around to bring his NSFW wisdom to his former co-stars during their time of need. In the meantime, all episodes of Full House and Fuller House are available to stream in full with a Max subscription.

Even though it’s been 36 years since Full House premiered, the show is still impacting fans in more ways than one. A lot of the cast reunited at ‘90s Con Tampa, including Candace Cameron Bure and Jodie Sweetin in the midst of their reported feud. Sweetin documented her time at the convention, and she even showed off a fan’s tattoo they got in honor of the actress. However, fans are roasting it.

Sweetin’s character Stephanie on Full House was known for her catchphrase: “How rude!” whenever something happened that she didn’t like. It became a staple for her throughout the show’s eight-season run. A fan had gotten that exact phrase tattooed on themselves, and according to their Instagram post about it, it’s actually in the actress's signature. The Hallmark star also shared it on her own Instagram as part of a photo dump from the event:

While Sweetin loved what the fan did, others did not like it, mostly because of how it looked. People couldn’t help but point out that “How Rude” looks more like “How Thude” in regards to the “R” looking like a “Th.” There were a lot of people pointing it out in the comments:

It should be noted that from the looks of the Instagram of the fan who got the tattoo, it is Jodie Sweetin’s actual handwriting. So, it’s not really the fault of the fan or the tattoo artist. It’s just the way Sweetin writes. It’s likely the fans in the comments didn’t know that the actress was the one who initially wrote it, but either way, in the words of Stephanie Judith Tanner: “How rude!” 

Regardless of the handwriting, it’s pretty amazing that someone would get a Full House tattoo. While this probably isn’t the first time someone has gotten ink in honor of the TGIF series, it never ceases to amaze me. 

Full House is beloved by many, and it is one of the best shows streaming on Max. There's also its wildly successful Netflix sequel series, and there are ideas being thrown around about another spinoff in the future, but that might still be far away. Basically, what I'm saying is, the love for Full House is real and very much still alive. 

Luckily, interest in Full House will likely continue for years to come as generations old and new discover and rediscover the series. The cast may bicker like family or annoy each other, but the fans have definitely brought them closer together. The handwritten “How rude” may not have gotten the response Sweetin or the fan who got it tattooed might have expected, but it’s the thought that counts. Plus, it’s still really cool that they had it tattooed in the first place in the actress's handwriting, and Sweetin will probably keep it in her memories for years to come.

Candace Cameron Bure and Jodie Sweetin seemed to have had a public fallout in recent months, though it hasn't been very evident whenever they've actually hung out together. After Bure’s remarks about “traditional marriage,” her on-screen little sister made it a point to discuss how much of an ally she is to the LGBTQ community. Sweetin had supported Jojo Siwa over what she'd said about Bure’s comments, and seemingly unfollowed her former co-star on social media in the aftermath. None of that drama was present when they reunited earlier this year for ‘90s Con in Connecticut, and over the weekend, another ‘90s Con event brought the Full House stars together again. 

Bure and Sweetin — along with Andrea "Kimmy" Barber, Dave "Joey" Coulier, Scott "Steve" Weinger, and creator Jeff "No Character Name" Franklin — reunited for ‘90s Con in Tampa, Florida, with plenty of fans turning up to share their love for the TGIF hit. The former Hallmark star documented her weekend on her Instagram Stories with plenty of pictures with the Full House cast and Full House fans. One photo in particular shows the She-Wolf Pack was all smiles, and the Tanner sisters even stood alongside one another in their colorful outfits.

Whether they are all genuinely happy to be together, or are just doing it for the cameras, it is still nice to see Candace Cameron Bure and Jodie Sweetin together after all that they’ve been through. Not all celebs with bad blood would make the effort, even for fans, so kudos to them both for turning up. The cast has shared that they bicker as much as a normal family, without things going too far, so it’s possible that the two have buried the hatchet. It seems like they had fun over the weekend, and may have spent some quality time together if and when they had free time. Hopefully, this means that Bure and Sweetin are back to normal, but even if there's smoldering involved, it’s better than nothing.

If things haven’t always been great between Bure and Sweetin, it might be partly due to the fact that they are basically like sisters. Sweetin previously opened up about how she would annoy Bure during Full House’s early days on her podcast with Andrea Barber, How Rude, Tanneritos! She would keep trying to get Bure to listen to her jokes, and while she was admittedly all over the place, Bure did not always want to deal with to the younger girl's hyperness, which made the dynamic “actually very real.” Even today, the two get in fights and have fallouts, but hopefully all can be forgiven in the end, even if they don't meet eye to eye on everything.

Maybe if Bure and Sweetin’s friendship continues, fans can get another Full House series. Ideas have been thrown around by some of the cast, with Sweetin even suggesting a Sweetin even suggesting a Golden Girls-esque series where it still follows the girls but a lot older and a lot more wiser. But with Fuller House's emotional series finale only airing a few years ago, it might be a while until people start genuinely thinking about another series. Not to mention the fact that it would have to properly honor and pay tribute to the late Bob Saget, which would be hard to do. 

It's no secret that DJ and Stephanie had their ups and downs on Full House and Fuller House, and Candace Cameron Bure and Jodie Sweetin are getting through a rough patch as well. It’s unknown how long this friendship will last, but at least they are smiling together again.

Dance seemed to be everything for Stephen “tWitch” Boss and his wife Allison Holker. They met in 2010 on the set of So You Think You Can Dance, often performing hip-hop routines on social media and dancing together on shows including Dancing with the Stars and The Ellen DeGeneres Show. So it’s understandable why after tWitch’s death by suicide last December at age 40, Holker took a break from her passion. Eight months later, she’s taken a big step by sharing a new dance video, and plenty of celebs and friends from her dance community were ready to welcome her back.

Allison Holker, who was married to the So You Think You Can Dance contestant-turned-judge for nine years before his 2022 death, said she was overwhelmed with emotion, as her friend Brittany Russell joined her for a dance to Missy Elliott. Check them out on Instagram below: 

The Dancing with the Stars alum held a big smile on her face during the routine, but it wasn’t lost on anybody how big a moment this was in her grieving process and how emotional it must have been to start posting dances with a partner who was not her husband. Full House star Jodie Sweetin was among those who supported Allison Holker when she returned to social media, and she was there again in the comments for this, celebrating the dancer for rediscovering her passion. Sweetin wrote: 

Vanessa Bryant also showed love for the dancer. Bryant is all too familiar with what it feels like to lose her husband too soon, after Kobe Bryant and their daughter Gianna were among those killed in a January 2020 helicopter crash. She commented on Allison Holker’s video: 

Back in May, Allison Holker spoke about Stephen Boss’ death for the first time, saying that “no one had an inkling” how low tWitch was. His suicide shook the entertainment world, with everyone from Questlove to JoJo Siwa to Justin Timberlake to Tyler Perry paying tribute to dancer/actor/DJ. Holker told People at the time:

Even if she’s not exactly pumped about it, Jodie Sweetin’s newest TV movie is set to share the same home as her former co-star Candace Cameron Bure, all while she’s currently co-hosting the Full House flashback podcast with fellow Fuller House vet Andrea Barber. And just in case that wasn’t enough connective tissue for everyone, the latest installment of that weekly project, titled How Rude, Tanneritos, featured the host duo reflecting on the recent news that Ashley Olsen gave birth to her first child with hubby Louis Eisner after keeping the pregnancy a complete secret.

The most recent release of How Rude, Tanneritos, titled “The Return of Grandma,” focuses on the fourth episode of the TGIF classic, which brought Joey and Jesse’s moms into the mix, while also centering on the latter’s life-saving turtle Bubba. Upon reaching the point in the episode when the family is heading out the door without Michelle, who was temporarily forgotten within her playpen, the co-stars addressed the surprise news about Olsen’s bundle of joy, with Barber stating with mild shock: 

Jodie Sweetin sounded just as excitedly blown away by the concept that their younger former co-star is now a full-blown mom, saying:

Jodie Sweetin definitely knows a thing or two about motherhood, as she's the proud mom of two kids: daughters Zoie, who was born in 2008, and Beatrix, who was born in 2010. Similarly, Andrea Barber shares two kiddos with her ex-husband Jeremy Rytky, daughter Felicity and son Tate. It doesn't sound like either of them will be asked to babysit in the near future, considering how private and out of the spotlight Ashley Olsen and sister Mary-Kate have been throughout their financially successful adulthood.

Outside of memorial events surrounding the 2022 death of Bob Saget, it's not clear exactly how often the Full House cast gets to hang out with either of the Olsens, but hopefully there will be more than a few playdates in the future. In any case, Barber put it out there that everyone involved with the Tanner and Gibbler clans are pumped for the new arrival.

Ashley Olsen and Louis Eisner tied the knot back in December 2022, and she was possibly hiding her pregnancy even at that point, considering she gave birth in the late spring/early summer. Whatever the details are there, here's hoping the mother and son are as happy and healthy as can be.

Full House has stood the test of time, with its fans now spanning multiple generations, thanks to syndicated reruns and the popular Netflix spinoff Fuller House that saw the return of most of its original cast. In rewatching old episodes, Full House star Jodie Sweetin admitted that 5-year-old Stephanie was “annoying” to her older sister (played by Candace Cameron Bure), and as a big sister myself, I’d have to take DJ’s side on this one.

Jodie Sweetin and Andrea Barber have begun rewatching Full House from the beginning on their new podcast How Rude, Tanneritos!, and the Kimmy Gibler portrayer asked Jodie Sweetin how she and Candace Cameron Bure developed such a natural relationship as sisters. Sweetin responded that if the vibes felt familiar to those of us with sisters of our own, that’s because they probably were. In her words: 

To be fair, we don’t know for sure that Candace Cameron Bure was actually annoyed by the attention-seeking of her TV little sister, but I find it hard to believe that any person with a younger sibling would blame her if she was. There was arguably no child cuter than Stephanie Tanner — she was precocious to a fault — but DJ’s sassy, “leave me alone” attitude toward Stephanie in those early episodes is exactly what I’d expect from a pre-teen. 

This is especially true when you consider that DJ had just lost her mom and now had to share her room with Stephanie to allow for Uncle Jesse and not-an-uncle Joey to move in. Will no one think of the older sisters?! Jodie Sweetin was understanding of any feelings her older “sister” might have had, speaking to how their respective ages at the time played into it. She continued: 

Jodie Sweetin was being pretty self-deprecating, because it’s probably fair to say that most 5-year-olds can be a handful to whomever they’re around. Regardless of what Candace Cameron Bure’s feelings were toward Sweetin back in 1987, their dynamic made for some great TV, and the entire cast grew into a family that keeps in touch to this day. 

As the cast has pointed out, though, every family “bickers” and has disagreements, and there was reportedly some tension between Candace Cameron Bure and Jodie Sweetin following the former’s words on “traditional marriage” in Great American Family’s Christmas movies last year. More recently, Sweetin said in a statement August 11 that she was “disappointed” that a movie she filmed over a year ago — Craft Me a Romance — had been sold to GAF. Amidst the rumored drama, however, the actresses reunited for 90s Con in March of this year and will see each other again in Tampa, Florida, in September.

Regardless of anything going on behind the scenes, this Full House rewatch has proven that Candace Cameron Bure and Jodie Sweetin’s sisterly vibes have been there from the beginning. Jodie Sweetin reunited with TV sister Candace Cameron Bure for five seasons of Fuller House on Netflix, but the two actresses haven't been entirely on the same page over the past year when it comes to the Great American Family network. In late 2022, Bure commented on GAF featuring "traditional marriage" following her move to that channel, and Sweetin spoke out as an ally for LGBTQ communities. Sweetin recently learned that a movie she filmed had been sold to GAF without any advance notice, and she had something to say about it. 

The 41-year-old actress stars in the upcoming movie called Craft Me a Romance. While Jodie Sweetin hasn't personally shared much about the project, the title suggests that it wouldn't be out of place among her many Hallmark credits, which include Love Under the Rainbow, Entertaining Christmas, and The Jane Mysteries: Inheritance Lost. Her upcoming movie being sold to GAF was clearly an unwelcome surprise, as she said in a statement (via People): 

Sweetin learning that Craft Me a Romance had been sold to GAF by reading about it in the press just goes to show how little involvement she had in the independent film finding a home. Her comment about donating any money made from the sale to LGBTQ+ communities isn't altogether surprising, as she showed support for stars like JoJo Siwa after Candace Cameron Bure spoke out about GAF's "traditional marriage" approach to romance. Bure even seemingly unfollowed her former on-screen sister on social media for a time after Sweetin showed her support for Siwa. At the time of writing, GAF has not responded publicly to Sweetin's statement. 

Candace Cameron Bure was a very familiar face on Hallmark prior to moving over to Great American Family as both actress and Chief Creative Officer, and she got herself in hot water toward the end of 2022 when she told The Wall Street Journal (via TVLine) that she thought "that Great American Family will keep traditional marriage at the core." Bure went on to explain her comments after they resulted in backlash, including a response from GLAAD. The controversy somewhat died down in the new year, but Sweetin clearly hasn't forgotten about GAF promoting "traditional marriage at the core."

Craft Me a Romance will air just over a month after Jodie Sweetin shared her disappointment that the movie was sold to GAF, with People reporting that the premiere is scheduled for Saturday, September 16. Sweetin stars opposite Lifetime movie alum Brent Bailey as part of the network's "Great American Autumn." Earlier in August, GAF announced that it has held the top spot as television's fastest-growing network for nine consecutive months, accounting for the numbers from July that saw total day household ratings rise by 143%. 

We all know the basic premise behind Full House — dad of three Danny Tanner enlists his best friend and brother-in-law, asking them to move into his house rent-free in exchange for helping him raise his three daughters following the death of his wife. For eight years (and then for decades longer in syndication and on streaming) we came to know and love D.J., Stephanie and Michelle, and the hijinks they got into with their dad, Uncle Joey and Uncle Jesse. Wait, what do you mean that’s not right? Jodie Sweetin just spoke out about a common mistake made regarding the Tanners, and I am in shock.

Jodie Sweetin, who played the middle Tanner child, wanted to set the record straight about Dave Coulier’s Joey Gladstone and his relationship to Stephanie and her sisters. While Jesse Katsopolis (John Stamos) was the brother of Danny’s wife, Joey did not hold the same status within the family. On her Full House rewatch podcast How Rude, Tanneritos!, Sweetin staunchly proclaimed of Joey: 

What do you mean you never called him “Uncle Joey”?! Of course I understand that he was not related by blood or marriage to Bob Saget’s Danny Tanner, but I’m pretty sure I have always referred to him as an uncle for honorary purposes, because he was definitely part of the family. Didn’t everybody?

A quick search I did through some Full House clips resulted in zero instances of “Uncle Joey,” so consider my mind blown. I don’t know if this is a Mandela Effect situation, but the moniker had to start somewhere, because — according to Jodie Sweetin herself — Mr. Gladstone was indeed promoted to “uncle” status in the Netflix spinoff Fuller House. The podcast host continued: 

Jodie Sweetin said she didn’t argue with Joey being deserving of the title — although she sounds pretty quick to correct people — but she’ll definitely be keeping her ear out for it, as she and Andrea Barber (aka Kimmie Gibler) embark on their 192-episode rewatch of the classic sitcom. She said she’ll feel “vindicated” if she turns out to be correct. 

Speaking of Dave Coulier, he launched his own podcast days ahead of his TV non-niece; however, after just the first episode he announced Full House Rewatch will be on hiatus until the end of the SAG-AFTRA strike. How Rude, Tanneritos! has not taken similar action — as of this writing at least — so you can continue to enjoy that podcast, while also snooping for “Uncle Joey” references by streaming Full House with your Max subscription or Hulu subscription. 

There are some TV series that just strike a chord with their audience, maintaining relevance and a loyal fanbase for decades after they go off the air. Full House has proven to be one of those, and even over 35 years later, fans can’t seem to get enough of widower Danny Tanner and his family. The Full House actors seem happy to give them what they want, too, as not one but two rewatch podcasts just launched within days of each other. Dave Coulier debuted Full House Rewind on July 21, which was followed by Jodie Sweetin and Andrea Barber’s How Rude, Tanneritos! on July 24. 

While it remains to be seen how the two pods distinguish themselves as they each go through all 193 episodes of the classic ABC sitcom, one thing is for sure: You can’t have this much Full House talk without mentioning the late Bob Saget, and the premiere episodes had fans feeling the love for our favorite TV dad. 

Dave Coulier Dedicates Podcast Premiere To Bob Saget 

The first episode of Full House Rewind featured Dave Coulier’s interview with series creator Jeff Franklin, who talked about how the cast came together, the “bizarre” audition process for Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen and how Bob Saget was a late addition to the Tanner family. At the end of the episode, the actor who played Joey Gladstone — Danny Tanner’s best friend — seemed to fight back tears as he paid tribute to Saget, who died of a head trauma in January 2022. He shared the episode’s final moments on Instagram: 

Dave Coulier not only dedicated the premiere to the late comedian, but he said he will end each episode with a “Full House hug,” as Bob Saget was known for his hugs. The post (and the podcast itself) caught the attention of Kelly Rizzo, Saget’s widow, who reposted his video to her own social media with a sweet message: 

It sounds like Kelly Rizzo might be tuning in for that weekly Full House hug, and when it comes to Tanner love, it turns out she’s got options. 

Jodie Sweetin And Andrea Barber Explain How Bob Saget’s Death Inspired Their Podcast 

Jodie Sweetin, who played middle child Stephanie Tanner, and Andrea Barber, the omnipresent neighbor Kimmy Gibler, kicked off their own rewatch pod, and even got support from fellow ‘90s child actor Danielle Fishel of Boy Meets World. Their show is called How Rude, Tanneritos!, which fans will recognize as the combination of two of their characters’ catchphrases. Sweetin and Barber both expressed excitement to relive their childhood memories and document them, since the loss of Bob Saget last year was a sobering reminder that tomorrow isn’t promised. Barber explained: 

Jodie Sweetin has spoken about how much she misses Bob Saget many times over the past year and a half, and there’s no doubt the Tanner patriarch’s presence will continue to be felt as both of these podcasts continue. Although we are in the year 2023, it seems more and more people have been going back in time to relive their childhoods, whether in the form of reboots/spinoffs or even podcasts. Casts from nostalgic hits have taken to the podcast game to do rewatches in order to reconnect with their co-stars and fans while also giving listeners some inside scoops on behind-the-scenes secrets, and another cast is about to hop on this trend. This is because Danielle Fishel, who currently co-hosts the Boy Meets World podcast, Pod Meets World with her co-stars Rider Strong and Will Friedle, is welcoming her former TGIF partners Jodie Sweetin and Andrea Barber to the podcasting world as they embark on a Full House re-watch project.

Jodie Sweetin and Andrea Barber have premiered the first episode of their new Full House rewatch podcast, appropriately titled How Rude, Tanneritos!, which comes from iHeartPodcasts. As they are the latest to step into this world, Danielle Fishel took to her Instagram stories to share her support for the two by resharing their commercial for both the podcast and Hyundai:

Like a lot of the Boy Meets World cast, Fishel has been keeping busy, but she is still keeping the show close, as Pod Meets World joined the iHeartPodcasts family last summer. Jodie Sweetin and Andrea Barber were even guests on separate episodes, so it makes sense that Fishel is giving her full support to their new show. She also shared a post for a pre-release interview the co-hosts gave, and it’s very sweet to see how supportive she is for her friends’ new venture, showing that no matter how long it’s been, that ABC TGIF bond will never be broken.

The trio has been friends for a long time, as Danielle Fishel guest starred on two episodes of Full House pre-Boy Meets World as Jennifer P., a girl in Stephanie’s class. There was hope that she would guest star on Fuller House, but it never happened. Since Sweetin and Barber were guests on Pod Meets World, and they appeared on it again in a bonus episode of the podcast to promote How Rude, Tanneritos!, it’s only fair that Fishel is a guest on their podcast. Also, given that they'll eventually get to Fishel’s episodes, even though they aren’t until Season 6, it only makes sense that she appears. 

How Rude, Tanneritos! comes at an interesting time. Just days ago, Sweetin and Barber’s Full House co-star Dave Coulier launched his own Full House rewatch podcast, Full House Rewind, from PodCo. Whether they were made and thought of separately or if one was produced because of the other is unknown, but hopefully, there are no hard feelings between Sweetin, Barber, and Coulier. However, they are all set to reunite at '90s Con this fall, so hopefully it will be addressed there. 

Something exciting about having two podcasts though is fans will be able to listen to one hosted by Joey and another by Stephanie and Kimmy to get different perspectives. Maybe they can even guest star on each other’s shows at some point if that isn’t already in the works.

One doesn’t have to be totally obsessed with Full House to be a fan of star Jodie Sweetin, but it certainly helps, considering viewers watched the actress grow from tot to teen as Stephanie Tanner. Not everyone will remember, however, that another one of her earliest TV appearances happened on a commercial for the California-founded eatery Sizzler back in 1987, the same year she debuted as Bob Saget’s small-screen offspring. 36 years later, Sweetin partnered up once more with the restaurant for a new ad that recalls the original promo while also showcasing her ever-present comedy chops. 

Send your eyeballs and taste buds to the ad from Sizzler below, which kicks off with Sweetin at four or five years old, wide-eyed and with her mouth too stuffed to speak, which is many people’s go-to face while dining at a buffet.

Maybe it’s weird to suddenly have the urge to watch Jodie Sweetin perform stand-up on a stage made out of serving trays, but I guess that’s what I’m feeling now. Slight chance it could be a rare form of vertigo, but I’m pretty sure it’s the first one. 

Speaking of rare form, Sweetin was in just that when it comes to poking fun at herself and her enviable career. For all that she’s known for starring in one of TGIF’s most beloved sitcoms, as well as its Netflix follow-up Fuller House, the actress isn’t actually that prolific when it comes to straightforward comedy projects. These days, fans will have an easier time finding her in an upcoming Hallmark TV movie (or perhaps one on Lifetime) or an unscripted competition series such as Beyond the Edge, Worst Cooks in America and Name That Tune, all of which she appeared in during 2023. 

And by all means, I hope she keeps nailing down the cozy TV flicks and embracing the competitive spirit that drives her in other shows. But can we also get Jodie Sweetin heading up her own comedy series? Whether it’s a multcam broadcast network gig like the one she learned about middle-child-hood in, or a single-cam comedy that strays completely from sets and soundstages, I feel like the world is overdue at least 5 different Sweetin-fronted comedies beyond the Tanner family hijinks. (And no, I don’t mean her popping up in a Kimmy Gibbler spinoff, either.) 

There’s nothing wildly different about her standing around smiling warmly in an ill-timed manner right after boasting about her comedic timing, but it works! In a world where popularity gets actors roles far more often than genuine talent, I can think of more than a few projects that would be notably better if Sweetin was part of the cast. (Or all of the cast, but that’s probably just for this gender-swapped Nutty Professor remake I’m writing on the inside of some box.) 

I’m not sure who we need to start petitioning, but I’ll send some emails to Sizzler to see if they’re game to start up a whole TV series of commercials, and then once that idea is shot down as being terrible, any other pitch I follow up with will seem genius in comparison. In the meantime, Fuller House is always there to watch with a Netflix subscription, while Full House proper requires a Max subscription for bingeing purposes.

For a while now it has seemed like Candace Cameron Bure hit a roadblock with some of her Full House co-stars due to her previous comments about “traditional marriage.” Specifically, the comments led to Jodie Sweetin speaking out about being an LGBTQ ally. The on-screen sisters seemed to have clashed over it, and Bure even discussed how casts tend to bicker like family. However, Bure and Sweetin will be reuniting soon, and it’s all thanks to the TGIF series. 

Candace Cameron Bure took to her Instagram to share the news that she and much of her Full House cast, which includes Jodie Sweetin, Andrea Barber, Dave Coulier, and Scott Weinger, along with creator Jeff Franklin, will be appearing at ‘90s Con in Tampa, Florida this September. She seems more than excited to get the gang back together, and likely more importantly, the She-Wolf Gang as she worte:

This isn’t the first time that Bure and Sweetin will reunite following their supposed clash. The two actually reunited back in March at ‘90s Con in Connecticut as well, along with Dave Coulier and Andrea Barber. While it may seem like the Full House family is falling apart, it’s clear that even in the midst of feuds, the Tanner family will never fully be broken, despite Bure and Sweetin’s reported falling out.

The whole ordeal with the two actresses seemed to have started after Bure reportedly unfollowed Sweetin on social media, following the Stephanie Tanner actress supporting JoJo Siwa after the Dance Moms alum clapped back at Bure for her traditional marriage comments. Since then, their relationship seemingly hasn’t been as close as it used to be, but with their recent reunion and with their upcoming one, it’s possible they’ve buried the hatchet, at least for now.

With the reunion in September, it’s unknown if any of their comments will be discussed or if they will mostly keep their focus on Full House and Fuller House. Full House still remains a staple sitcom, and Fuller House reignited the love many fans had for the Tanner family. Either way, seeing Bure and Sweetin together again after all that they’ve been through will be a sight to see, especially since they’ll be joined by some of their other Full House castmates.

Another veteran of The Bachelor has made it down the aisle to say “I do,” but it wasn’t with someone they met on the show. Colton Underwood, the Season 23 lead who famously jumped a fence in an effort to escape ABC’s reality TV cameras, married Jordan C. Brown in front of 200 guests May 13 in a romantic ceremony in Napa Valley. Several celebrities — including former host of The Bachelor Chris Harrison — sent their congratulations to the former football player.

Colton Underwood came out as gay in 2021 during an interview on Good Morning America, years after appearances on the Bachelor Nation reality shows, and that milestone in his life was documented on the Netflix series Coming Out Colton. Rumors began to circulate that he and Jordan C. Brown were an item later that year, with Underwood confirming the relationship in December. By February 2022 they were engaged, and a little over a year later, the happy couple are officially married! The groom shared the happy news on Instagram with exclusive photos from People: 

Several celebs rushed to the comments section of Colton Underwood’s post to offer well-wishes to the couple, including Chris Harrison, who was still the host of the Bachelor Nation shows when Underwood appeared. He wrote:

While Colton Underwood found fame on the Bachelor Nation dating shows, his relationship with those in the franchise was strained after he starred as The Bachelor. Cassie Rudolph, who was the last woman standing on his season — though they did not get engaged on the show — filed a restraining order against Underwood in September 2020 after they broke up in April, saying he stalked and harassed her. According to Rudolph, Underwood placed a tracking device on her vehicle — which he admitted to — and loitered outside her bedroom window at 2 a.m.

That friction only increased with the release of Coming Out Colton, when Tayshia Adams accused him of lying about what happened on their Fantasy Suite date, and Nick Viall and Ben Higgins disputed Colton Underwood’s claims that Chris Harrison had been the only person to contact him after he came out. In the end, Underwood has said he doesn’t want to be associated with The Bachelor, saying “I don’t fuck with them anymore, they don’t fuck with me.” 

At least his friendship with Chris Harrison has endured, and it looks like Colton Underwood was surrounded by a lot of love for his special day.

Even though Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen were the twins of Michelle Tanner on Full House, despite not returning for Fuller House, it seems like another Tanner sister is getting her share of twinning these days, but in a different way. This is because after Jodie Sweetin posted a photo with her daughter Zoie Herpin, fans could not get over the uncanny resemblance, but that’s not the only comparison they’re making as one person compared the actress's daughter to Scarlett Johansson.

Jodie Sweetin took to Instagram to celebrate her daughter Zoie's birthday and update her followers on the festivities that took place. The photo is as “sweet” as can be, and it really shows just how close Sweetin is with her daughter:

However, getting past the birthday festivities, fans couldn’t help but notice just how alike the duo looks, even pointing out that they could be twins, as one fan commented:

Another fan also couldn’t help but notice just how strong the mom genes are. While just about every kid looks like their parents somehow, there is just something about Jodie Sweetin and her daughter Zoie that makes them look almost identical, as some people wrote:

However, the comparisons don’t stop there. There are also a handful of fans that thought Zoie Herpin actually looks a little bit like Scarlett Johansson, or at least a mixture of ScarJo and Sweetin. When you take a good look at the picture, you can actually see how much she looks like the Marvel star:

Now that that comparison has been made, it’s hard to unsee. She definitely looks a bit like Scarlett Johansson, and it just proves she’s been double blessed. Getting compared to not one but two actresses is impressive, and it seems that fans are agreeing that Jodie Sweetin and Johansson are the top comparisons.

It's clear that Sweetin is very close to her daughter, and it makes sense considering her deep connection and care for both her adoptive and biological family. After Sweetin was sued for child support a few years ago, it's nice to see that all is well. 

Knowing how close the mother and daughter are, and considering their resemblance, I'm curious about how many times they are told in real life that they look like twins. Or who knows, maybe Zoie has also gotten the ScarJo comparison before as well.

While Jodie Sweetin may be caught up in some Full House drama involving former co-star Candace Cameron Bure, it looks like she is focusing on her family these days. While the Full House cast bickers like a family, Bure’s comments on traditional marriage and GAF seem to have caused a rift between the two actors, it seems like Sweetin is having fun with her family rather than focusing on the reported drama. 

At the very least, Sweetin is putting much of her time into her family and her mini-me, who may or may not still look like her when she’s older. It's refreshing to see her out having fun with her daughter, and it will be fun to see more of the Full House star's daughter, who also lowkey looks like Scarlett Johansson.

A little bickering between family members may be normal, but after the Full House alumni supported each other through the unexpected death of Bob Saget, one actor seemed particularly bothered by the sibling rivalry. John Stamos, who played Uncle Jesse, was reportedly “devastated” that things have turned upside down for his TV family.

While the TV sisters clearly don’t agree on everything, Candace Cameron Bure says the Tanner family bond is strong enough to endure, and it sounds like she’s still got plenty of love for Jodie Sweetin. All eight seasons of Full House are available for streaming with a Hulu subscription or HBO Max subscription, and Fuller House’s five seasons can be viewed by Netflix subscription holders. 

Few sitcom settings can instantly pop into TV audiences’ brains quite like the Tanner family’s abode in Full House, helped along by the fact that it was literally recreated for Fuller House 20 years later. I’d be surprised to meet a fan of the TGIF hit that hasn’t imagined having something from that set within their own homes, which means there are no doubt plenty of people out there who would be way jealous of stars Candace Cameron Bure, Jodie Sweetin, Dave Coulier and Andrea Barber for all of the props they’ve openly admitted to bringing home from their time on both shows. 

While reuniting for Full House’s audience-pleasing panel at ‘90s Con in Hartford, CT — the first of two ‘90s-focused events set for 2023 — the aforementioned quartet of stars reflected on their lives before, during and after the beloved sitcom’s ABC run. Early on in the panel, after Dave Coulier attempted to explain why farts are funny, the actors were asked about any memorable set items they took possession of once filming was completed. John Stamos was mentioned for having taken the living room couch, with Candace Cameron Bure bringing up her attempt to nab it from him. And then Coulier went and shared the best example possible (arguably), saying:

This pulled a noteworthy cheer from the crowd, as it should be. It’s possible that the good vibes from the crowd are why he didn’t share anything further about Mr. Woodchuck’s current state. I’d admittedly forgotten in the moment that Coulier previously offered fans a less-than-celebratory update on the marionette puppet’s fate in the time after Full House, sharing on Reddit that he’d kept the original prop, and then his Labrador Ranger ate Mr. Woodchuck’s face. Sigh. 

From there, Jodie Sweetin brought up a couple of the recognizable mementos that she liberated from the Full House set, so to speak, saying:

Okay, so having O.G. Mr. Bear is like, right behind having Mr. Woodchuck as a set prop, and I’m sure there are plenty of people who…would… prefer the teddy over the puppet. But I think we can all agree that Full House should have merchandised the hell out of both of those. Not to mention the sea-pappy statue. If Funko released a Pop version of just the sea-pappy’s head, I’d be all over that. 

Andrea Barber, who later brought up just how much she did not like Kimmy Gibbler’s outfits as a teenager going through emotions, shared this:

This might just be memory bias, but it seems like Barber would have roughly 200,000 hoop earrings, giant pink scuncis, jangly bracelets and more. Kimmy Gibbler knew how to pull a fashion ensemble together. Or she knew how to pull it completely apart. One of those. 

Finally, Candace Cameron Bure shared that she does indeed still have one of D.J. Tanner’s most memorable props, and shared that she also took a few family-specific things from the Fuller House set as well. In her words:

Anyone who started watching Full House at any point after the 1990s might not have any clue that the Pillow People were a huge toy line that existed outside the TGIF sitcom, though the popularity was relatively short-lived and largely limited to the late 1980s. The particular Pillow Person that D.J. favored was named Window Rattler.

For those who think it’d be amazing to live in the home whose exterior is used sparingly to represent the Tanner’s home, there’s proof to the contrary, with overeager and photo-happy fans making life difficult for those who have lived there. Hopefully events like ‘90s Con can help give fans like that someone more appropriate to show off their Full House adoration.

Those who are familiar with the Full House franchise are likely aware that the cast of the TV property are incredibly close. Over the years, John Stamos, Candace Cameron Bure, Jodie Sweetin, Lori Loughlin and their co-stars have fostered tight bonds both on and off camera. However, from the outside looking in, it would seem that the tight-knit group has been rattled by a few elements, including Cameron Bure’s traditional marriage comments. The actors themselves haven’t spoken out on the state of their relationships, but a source now claims is allegedly “devastated” that his found family is seemingly falling apart. 

This rumor allegedly comes from one of the actor’s friends, who spoke with RadarOnline.com. The unnamed source referred to his purported pal as “a get-along kind of guy” and claims that the Jesse Katsopolis actor “really believed” in the themes conveyed by he and his co-stars’ two sitcoms. With that, it apparently pains him to see his family in disarray at this time:

The first conflict to truly cause strife amongst the group was Lori Loughlin’s college admissions scandal, which saw her serve two months in federal prison. John Stamos has since defended Loughlin but, as the source mentioned to RadarOnline, he “caught a lot of crap for defending Lori” and that’s purportedly why he’s opted not to speak on Candace Cameron Bure’s situation. In November 2022, Cameron Bure stirred up controversy after she stated that Great American Family would heavily feature traditional marriage, likely meaning that LGBTQ+ relationships would not be featured.

This stance apparently brought the actress into conflict with her on-screen sister, Jodie Sweetin. After JoJo Siwa spoke out against Candace Cameron Bure’s comments, Sweetin supported the pop star and has since spoken out about being an LGBTQ+ ally. One of the latest updates on their reported squabble alleges that Cameron Bure was upset with Sweetin for publicly taking a stance on the matter as opposed to speaking with her one-on-one first. 

These controversies apparently aren’t the only situations that are said to be weighing on John Stamos, as he’s also still processing the death of Bob Saget – his longtime friend and co-star. The beloved actor and comedian died in January after experiencing blunt head trauma. Stamos, who sentimentally eulogized Saget, got real about mourning his friend at the funeral, which contributed to what he called “the hardest day” of his life. His alleged friend also said: 

It’s fair to say that the cast has been through a lot over the past few years. However, there may be reason to believe that the tension is cooling off. Some Full House stars are getting ready to reunite, as Candace Cameron Bure, Jodie Sweetin, Andrea Barber and Dave Coulier will all appear at ‘90s Con in March. Only time will tell whether Cameron Bure and Sweetin will address any differences they have and whether they, John Stamos and their colleagues can re-establish the tight bond they once had.
