It’s been nearly 40 years since Full House premiered on ABC, and the cast remains as close as ever these days. That’s partially because the TV family came together after Bob Saget’s unexpected death in 2022, and after seeing how much John Stamos specifically has stepped up to keep the comedian’s memory alive, it’s hard to imagine there was a time when they “didn’t get along.”

While the actors who played the young Tanner sisters had their own sibling rivalries going on — Jodie Sweetin has said she was closer to Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen because Candace Cameron allegedly thought she was “lame” — the three guys making up the adult contingency of the Full House cast had some tension of their own. John Stamos opened up to Bobby Bones on The BobbyCast about the heartbreaking events that bonded them for life.

John Stamos Found Bob Saget And Dave Coulier’s Comedy ‘Distracting’

It makes sense that John Stamos didn’t see eye to eye with his adult co-stars at the beginning of Full House. Both Bob Saget and Dave Coulier came from a standup background, while Stamos got his start on the soap opera General Hospital before joining the short-lived sitcom You Again?. As the actor explained to Bobby Bones:

John Stamos clarified that he loves standup comedy and is fascinated by the art of it, but it’s not something he can do. However, in addition to Stamos not appreciating Bob Saget and Dave Coulier goofing off on set, he also “pissed Bob off” by nurturing the relationship between his character Uncle Jesse and the Olsen twins’ Michelle.

The Full House Stars Became Close After Family Tragedies

The cast of Full House will say today that they are just like a real life family — bickering and all — but it was apparently tragedies in their real lives that ultimately brought the Danny Tanner, Joey Gladstone and Jesse Katsopolis actors together. John Stamos said:

What a wildly tough thing for all of them to have to go through, but it’s pretty amazing that they had each other to lean on. It’s no wonder the trio became friends for the rest of the series and after. John Stamos continued:

It’s obvious how much Bob Saget’s death still hurts John Stamos, as he said the comedian was “bombastic with his love”:

Whether fans remember him most for Full House, his raunchy comedy or any of Bob Saget’s other movies and shows, it’s clear that Saget loved the people in his life very much, and it was reciprocated — even if it took John Stamos a while.

Both on and off the small screen, John Stamos has had one foot in the world of music, and one in acting. (His relationship with the Beach Boys is still going strong.) He can sing, play instruments, and has shown off his dance skills a time or two. I mean, he’s even danced and sang on ABC for Disney’s The Little Mermaid Live. But will he ever show those talents off on Dancing with the Stars? Don’t hold your breath.

One might think Stamos would be inspired to join the reality competition due to several of his former Full House and Fuller House co-stars having competed. (As well as other fan-favorite TGIF actors.) But when the Scream Queens vet appeared on an episode of Bobby Bones’ The BobbyCast (which can be listened to in full on Spotify), the subject of DWTS came up, and Stamos made it quite clear that it’s not his destiny.

When asked how often the producers have called to pitch him on appearing, Stamos said it’s a constant thing. In his words:

When Bones pointed out that the actor's kids would probably be impressed with him if he vied for the Mirrorball trophy, Stamos joked that he already does enough for them.

As far as why he's so dead-set against tearing up the Dancing with the Stars stage, it sounds like he's skittish about setting himself up for a potential injury. (Which Full House's Jodie Sweetin has some unfortunate experience with.) He explained:

Stamos was very dismissive at even the thought of going out and risking the good health of his tootsie-wootsies. Which I can certainly understand being a concern for any entertainer who's expected to be on their feet at any given moment. Perhaps if he had any personal stake in proving to the world that he couild do it, it might happen, but such stakes have not yet surfaced within him.

With the topic still fixed on DWTS, Bobby Bones came very close to blowing his guest's brain wide open with the reveal that he'd not only competed (for Season 27), but that he also won out. Which then took another amusing turn as Stamos connected the dots to grasp that was the same season where his Fuller House co-star Juan Pablo Di Pace was part of arguably the most controversial elimination in DWTS’ history, to the point where rules were changed to avoid similarly baffling outcomes in the future.

Once that realization set in, Stamos loudly chastised Bones for surviving until the end despite all the perfect scores Di Pace and pro Cheryl Burke earned. He went off with:

Stamos brought up the fact that some of the Netflix show's stars went to the episode tapings to support Di Pace, but he was never part of that squad. It would appear simply walking into the soundstage would cause him unending harm.

The actor and his pro partner were eliminated ahead of the final four during that season. Previously, Candace Cameron Bure competed in Season 18 in 2014, coming in 3rd place, while Jodie Sweetin cut a few rugs back in 2016 for Season 22, coming in 6th place.

Dancing with the Stars: The Next Pro is set to debut on ABC on July 13. I wouldn't expect to see anyone on there that even looks like John Stamos.

For many actors, the possibility of becoming typecast as any one kind of character is a very real hazard, but it still becomes inevitable for quite a few of them. Sitcom stars have felt that burn as often as any, and Jodie Sweetin has addressed how Full House cast members were just as privy to those feelings as anyone else.

Sweetin, who can be seen on stand-up comedy stages and heard on the rewatch podcast How Rude, Tanneritos, popped by Taboo’s Comics & Kicks to talk to the titular host about her lifelong career, and the ups and downs along the way. In the second part of the interview posted to YouTube, she addressed a specific downside to playing fan-favorite TGIF characters like Full House’s Stephanie Tanner and Jesse Katsopolis: others don’t always see them as anything other than those characters. In her words:

Bob Saget experienced a very nuanced version of this, in that he made his mark in comedy with a very blue and perverse stand-up set, which was in direct opposition to Danny Tanner's clean-cut and G-rated personality. But Sweetin said that he eventually learned to lean into those expectations, which led to him taking the hosting gig on America's Funniest Home Videos.

Being a child star in a sitcom didn't exactly help the typecast issues, and it's totally understandable in hindsight why the Olsen twins quit the business to keep working together making millions designing clothes. (They also turned down the chance to return for Fuller House, which Sweetin speaks to later in the interview.)

Jodie Sweetin recalled her own kneejerk reactions to Full House fans at her stand-up shows, and John Stamos' early attempts to distance himself from his Uncle Jesse persona. As she put it:

I'm not immediately sure which movies she's referring to, but I do remember watching his 1993 Tales from the Crypt episode as a kid, specifically because he was in it. He wasn't much like his Elvis-impersonating sitcom character, but was definitely still a ladies man. (That's the kind of stereotype that can work in an actor's favor at times.) Stamos also popped up on The Larry Sanders Show in 1995, the year Full House wrapped, for another "I'm on HBO now" role.

But reaching adulthood and becoming a parent herself can obviously change a person's outlook on things, and Sweetin says that by the time Fuller House became a reality, everyone had moved beyond the early distress over being tied to their characters outside of the show. As she put it:

I have to think the vast majority of TV stars co-hosting rewatch podcasts wouldn't exist if everyone still had the same frame of mind that they did when the shows were still on the air. Spending a few years away from the gig always seems to help.

Meanwhile, earlier in 2026, fellow Full House vet Candace Cameron Bure spoke about another kind of typecasting that riles her up: the way movies and TV shows stereotype Christian characters. But that's a completely different conversation.

The Muppets and celebrities have always gone hand in hand, so it comes as no surprise that the updated Rock ’n’ Roller Coaster starring the Muppets is absolutely packed with celebrity cameos. I was anticipating there being a lot to unpack, but I did not count on just how many there would be. However, what was even more surprising was the staggering number of deep-cut Muppet references. Shoutout to the Imagineer who looped me in.

The Rock’n’ Roller Coaster starring the Muppets is just one of Walt Disney World’s new attractions. CinemaBlend had a chance to experience the ride firsthand during a preview of Cool Kids’ Summer, which kicked off on May 26, and I tried to spot as many Muppet references as possible while queuing up to ride the chaos-fueled coaster.

As I made my way through G-Force Records, I spotted a couple of deep-cut references myself. One of my favorites has to be a tribute to MuppetVision 3D — may it rest in peace.

Keep Your Eyes Peeled for Gonzo, Gags, and Deep-Cut Details

Near the old show’s entrance, there used to be a door with a sign reading “keys under mat,” where guests could lift a nearby floor mat to find a hidden key underneath. I’m happy to report that the door has made its way into the Rock ’n’ Roller Coaster queue, where it now serves as the entrance to Gonzo’s Flight School. A sign explains that Gonzo is away at the concert and, once again, the “keys” are under the mat — though this time, if you look closely, you’ll spot a set of piano keys peeking out from underneath.

This is just one tiny example of the details hidden throughout the ride. So when I had the chance to speak with one of the Imagineers behind the new coaster, David Brescia, I had to ask about other hard-to-spot Muppet references. He told us:

I got a little choked up when I saw the portrait for myself the first time. Brescia also told us to be on the lookout for PizzaRizzo, and I can confirm there are several references to the fun-loving rat’s restaurant both in the queue and on the ride itself. Pizza slices and boxes are scattered throughout the sets and can even be spotted while cruising down the 101. And if you take a quick peek to your left after loading into the L.I.M.O. (Lengthy Immediate Motion Object) ride vehicle, you might spot the Squeakeasy, a rat biker bar established in 1936 — the year Jim Henson was born.

A Constantly Revolving Door of Celebrities in the Livestream

Besides the countless Muppet references — of which I barely scratched the surface — I need to talk about the “livestream” video that plays in the rotunda queue. The video features all-new material showing everyone backstage and in the audience waiting for the Electric Mayhem to show up to their own concert, which they are several hours late to.

If you stay and watch the whole thing (or are stuck in line for more than 30 minutes), you will spot a ton of celebrities throughout the stream. I was able to catch most of them, but I still had to follow up with Brescia to make sure I did not miss any. He had several names to drop:

Ken Marino goes from soundboard operator to G-Force studio executive—a pretty solid upgrade. Brescia also mentioned John Stamos and Danny Trejo, but the full list is even more impressive, including Awkwafina, Neil Patrick Harris, Questlove, Travis Barker, Joe Elliott, and Phil Collen. And for another fun Muppet reference, Walter from The Muppets and The Muppets Most Wanted also shows up ready to watch the concert.

This is only a fraction of the references you can find on the ride, and every time you go on, you are bound to discover something new. Whether you are rocking out to one of the songs on the set list, spotting a poster featuring Angus McGonagle — who appeared in a single episode of The Muppet Show — or waiting to see if John Stamos finally makes it into the VIP room, there is always a reason to ride again.

Full House will be having its 40^th anniversary next year, which is crazy to think about. But the series remains a favorite among many fans, myself included. Thanks to reruns on Nick at Nite, I have been a fan of the TGIF sitcom for years. It's one of the best sitcoms of all time, and one of the best things about the show is that almost everyone on the cast remains close to this day. That's why I was so surprised to hear there was “tension” between John Stamos, the late, great Bob Saget, and Dave Coulier early on.

One of the reasons why Full House did so well and why it ran for eight seasons is because of the chemistry between the cast. The show was about a family, and everyone was practically a family off-screen as much as on-screen. Stephanie Tanner actress Jodie Sweetin revealed on the podcast The McBride Rewind that everyone was very close, but there was something a little different when it came to the dynamic between Stamos, Saget, and Coulier that was different from Jesse, Danny, and Joey:

Going from a soap opera like General Hospital to a full-blown family sitcom like Full House couldn’t have been easy for Stamos, and he’s opened up in the past about how frustrating the show's early years were. While things definitely got easier as the show went on, and the writers even took notice of his quick friendship with Coulier. Sweetin admitted that, at least during the first season, there was some tension when it came to professionalism:

It’s hard to imagine how different things would have been, not only with the show but with the cast, had Stamos not let his guard down and really started having fun on the set. It’s also because of him letting go that the dynamic between Jesse and Joey and their partnership really became core to the show, as well as the dynamic between the two of them and Danny. And I am so glad that the tension got resolved by the second season, because who knows what would have happened.

While that tension has obviously been resolved for years, there has been some new tension coming out in recent years between Sweetin and on-screen sister Candace Cameron Bure. The two, who have had a public fallout following Bure’s “traditional marriage” comments, have seemingly buried the hatchet on a few different occasions. Sweetin previously spoke out about their differing viewpoints, admitting they weren’t ever really feuding, but knows that they don’t have the same beliefs.

Like any family, though, nothing is ever perfect, and there will be fights. All that really matters is that, for the most part, the family that fans saw on-screen was true off-screen, albeit a little differently. But don’t even get me started on Stamos getting the Olsen Twins fired when the show was first starting out.

It’s hard to believe it’s been four years since we lost the great comedian Bob Saget. The former stand-up comic and star of Full House died in a tragic accident four years ago today, and several of his co-stars, Candace Cameron Bure, John Stamos and Dave Coulier, took a moment to remember him on this unfortunate anniversary.

Bure took to Instagram and posted a collection of photos of herself and Saget. Some of them are more recent, from the period in and around the Fuller House reboot, but a couple of these are true throwbacks to when Candace Cameron Bure was just a kid named Candace Cameron. It’s a relationship that has spanned most of her life, and seeing it in pictures is equal parts heartwarming and heartbreaking.

Bob Saget is one of those performers that a generation grew up watching, and so it felt like they knew the man personally. He was one of America’s most famous dads as Danny Tanner on Full House, even if his stand-up work was far more mature. John Stamos posted his own Instagram tribute, with shots from both the Full House days and more recent times, showing the progression of a long friendship. In his post, Stamos said…

John Stamos and Bob Saget certainly came a long way. Stamos has previously said he didn’t like his co-star that much, but the two ultimately became very good friends. They spent one of their last days together at Stamos’ favorite place, Disneyland. Considering how random and unexpected Saget’s death was, there was certainly no way to know it would be the last time they would see each other. Sagat is believed to have died from injuries sustained from an accidental fall in his hotel room in Florida where he was on tour performing stand-up.

The third member of the Full House trio, Dave Coulier, didn’t miss the chance to tell the world what Bob Saget meant to him, in his own Instagram post, he said he thought his friend would want that…

It’s clear that Bob Saget meant a lot to those whose lives he touched. For those who knew him and those wno simply watched him, we’re all poorer now that he’s gone. Our thoughts go out to his friends and family on this difficult day.

Another season of Celebrity IOU is on the way with a premiere on HGTV just before the end of the 2025 TV schedule, and it’s only fitting that the renovation show features a Full House star to kick off Season 11. John Stamos will be the celebrity joining the Property Brothers, a.k.a. Drew and Jonathan Scott, to surprise a friend with a home transformation. The twins opened up about the experience and Jonathan’s accidental hair encounter with the star.

The brothers have hosted plenty of celebrities on Celebrity IOU over the years, with touching behind-the-scenes stories of stars (including Halle Berry) crying and Kevin Hart’s sweet gesture to someone who helped him. Then, there are the sillier BTS stories, like when they poked fun at Anthony Anderson’s “shriek.” The tale of Jonathan Scott and John Stamos’ hair definitely is going in the funnier category, with Stamos coming to the show to do a renovation for Ken, his longtime best friend. Jonathan recalled to TV Insider:

Luckily, Jonathan Scott’s brush with John Stamos’ hair didn’t turn into a brush with legal action, and I can’t help but hope that the moment makes it into the final cut of the episode. Stamos appears in the Season 11 premiere of Celebrity IOU on December 28. Drew Scott shared some details about the patio and garage renovation they were helping Stamos complete for his friend, and there were plenty of laughs along the way. He said:

A renovation is bound to be easier when the people participating can share some laughs together! Stamos is just one of several celebs who will be joining the Scott brothers on Celebrity IOU this season. Viewers will also see them helping Ike Barinholtz, Eva Longoria, Mario Lopez (a.k.a. another ‘90s sitcom fan favorite), and William Shatner, who just won’t quit showbiz despite approaching the age of 95 in the new year. Jonathan Scott in fact named Shatner as one of the stars who brought the most laughs to Season 11, saying:

Celebrity IOU is still an HGTV show, so don’t expect anything that pushes that PG rating any more than an episode of The Property Brothers would. The twins may eternally have to deal with people questioning which one is which, but I don’t think that there’s any chance that fans will have to deal with anything scandalous in Season 11. There’s still a chance that the John Stamos hair incident will make it into the premiere episode, I hope!

Nearly 40 years after its premiere, Full House remains one of the best sitcoms of all time. Thanks to streaming, fans old and new are discovering it every day, including the children of Full House's throwback-loving cast. John Stamos’ son is apparently now watching the TGIF sitcom, and he can’t help but troll his dad, thankfully in an A+ way.

While Stamos has done a handful of projects since starring as Uncle Jesse, he can’t seem to get away from it, even at home now. During a recent appearance on Today, he was asked by co-host Craig Melvin if his son was now watching Full House, and Stamos confirmed that he is, but also shared the hilarious reason for it:

Stamos and his wife Caitlin welcomed Billy into the world in 2018, and now that he’s seven, it sounds like he’s really starting to grasp the scope of who his father is. It’s a pretty funny realization, too. The fact that Stamos had to spend so long hearing “You got it, dude,” only to have to deal with it again from his own son (and probably more than he’d like) is truly A+ trolling. The fact that the kiddo also wants his own catchphrase might just be the best part because, really, who wouldn’t want to have their own saying?

That’s not all. Stamos also shared that Billy has been giving his own critiques of the series, and had an idea that is both hilarious and not surprising coming from a 7-year-old, and it really makes me wonder how the show would have turned out had it gone down that route all those years ago. In relation to the show's character ensemble, Stamos said:

I absolutely love that Billy is trolling his dad when it comes to Full House by not just saying catchphrases but also giving his own opinion on how the show would be better. Of course, Full House ran for eight seasons and nearly 200 episodes and is a cultural phenomenon to this day, so I think it’s pretty safe to say that even without the superpowers, the show is a success. But that doesn’t really seem to matter to Billy, because at his age, kids believe that everything needs to be superpowered.

Plus, I think we can all agree Danny Tanner's cleaning skills were nothing short of super.

Perhaps if there is another Full House series in the very distant future, it doesn’t have to be just Golden Girls-esque like Jodie Sweetin suggested. Maybe there can be some type of superhero aspect of it, even if it is just in a crazy dream sequence. You never know. At the very least, it’s fun that John Stamos’ kid is watching Full House, regardless of the reason and the jokes that come along with it. Maybe he’ll even follow in his dad’s footsteps and lead a sitcom in the future where he can have his own catchphrase and superpowers.

I was a latchkey kid, but my mother was a school teacher, and for three glorious months every summer she was around all the time. I fondly remember those mornings hanging out with my mom while she watched her soaps, but the greatest of all of them was General Hospital. So, it was with much sadness I heard about the passing of cool guy Anthony Geary this week, but I was so happy to see his longtime TV bride speak out about her working relationship with the actor.

News broke this week that Anthony Geary had died, allegedly (via TMZ) during an operation in Amsterdam. These reports indicate there were complications, but it was noted the surgery had been planned. He was 78 at the time of his death. Afterwards, tributes poured in, including one from his longtime scene partner Genie Francis, who wrote on X:

By the nineties when I was watching, Luke and Laura already had a son, Lucky Spencer, played at the time by Jonathan Jackson. (Though other actors took on the role after he left in 1999). I was too young for the Luke and Laura meet-not-so-cute or the subsequent wedding, and by the time I was watching there was always a sort of mythos around the famous Port Charles couple.

Jackson also spoke out around the time of his onscreen dad’s death. Part of his lengthy tribute included tidbits about becoming closer to Geary after becoming an adult. He told TV Insider about the experience of being a kid coming onto the show, and how his relationship flourished with "Tony" years later.

Of course, nothing good in soap operas lasts forever. There was drama and an inevitable TV divorce, but per Francis’ comments, she still fondly remembers working closely with Anthony Geary. Luke and Laura began the era of the “supercouple” both on soaps and in TV in general, and their reach in the TV landscape will long outlast their years on General Hospital.

Luke and Laura remained on the series for years after their onscreen romance faded out, both becoming long-tenured cast members on the soap. Others from the show also spoke out, with Sarah Joy Brown (Carly Corinthos) also writing on X:

'Sex craved casanova' John Stamos also delved into his time on the show with the actor, writing on X about the experience that Tony was "one of a kind" and "showed up quietly" for the people in his life. He also shared about his early days on the show.

Geary ultimately left the show in 2015 as one of the longest tenured cast members. Though she took a break from the show in the ‘80s, at 63, Genie Francis is still performing on General Hospital as it has weathered strikes, pandemics and more. She’s been doing it without her “leading” man for a while, so I know she’ll be OK, but this is still a sad week for General Hospital moms, and all the kids in the eighties and nineties who grew up with them.

When we look back at the 2025 TV schedule, one of the new series I'll remember most is Netflix’s The Hunting Wives. While we hadn’t heard much about it in the lead-up to its release, critics’ thoughts on it quickly sold us, and the raunchy, soapy crime drama became a verified hit on the streamer. Now, John Stamos is set to join Season 2, and he just shared the hilarious thoughts his wife had when he nabbed the gig.

Earlier this week, it was reported that John Stamos would be joining The Hunting Wives alongside series stars Brittany Snow, Malin Akerman, Dermot Mulroney and more. Here’s how Stamos broke his silence about his casting, and on Today no less:

Hey, in her defense, there’s a lot of nudity on The Hunting Wives!

Stamos’ wife is Caitlyn McHugh. They got married and welcomed their son in the same year of 2018 after meeting on an episode of Law & Order: Special Victims Unit.

The Texas-set series is about a woman named Sophie who moves to a fictional town called Maple Brook, where she meets a socialite named Margo and her friends, who are into a lot of hedonistic activities behind the curtains. And that means… a lot of sex scenes are featured in the show. When asked if Stamos would go full-frontal for the series, he left things open-ended, by saying this:

According to Variety’s report that Stamos is joining the new season, he’ll play a character named Chase Brylan, but we don’t know anything else about him. Other newcomers to the series will be Twilight’s Cam Gigandet, Fallout’s Dale Dickey, The Bold and the Beautiful’s Kim Matula and The Wilds’ Alex Fitzalan.

When The Hunting Wives came out in mid-2025, it was a huge success, at one time being the most-streamed series in the U.S., with 2 billion minutes streamed from those with a Netflix subscription less than two weeks after its release. So, it wasn’t a big surprise when it was renewed for Season 2 in September.

The series was actually originally developed for Starz, with series creator Rebecca Cutter getting inspiration from the novel by May Cobb, but Netflix ended up acquiring it instead. The Hunting Wives was definitely a big discussion point throughout the year, and it even became the subject of a Saturday Night Live skit with Amy Poehler and Aubrey Plaza.

We’re of course so curious about how John Stamos will factor into The Hunting Wives as Maple Brook deals with ongoing murder investigations and multiple killers on the loose. However, now I'm also curious to see how his wife reacts to his work on the show.

Over the past year, Dave Coulier has been candid about his health challenges. Coulier – who’s best known for his role as Joey Gladstone on Full House and Fuller House – revealed in November 2024 that he’d been diagnosed with Stage 3 non-Hodgkin lymphoma. The beloved actor and comedian has been in remission when it comes to that disease but, unfortunately, Coulier just revealed he’s been diagnosed with another form of cancer. Now, longtime friend and former co-star John Stamos, and a host of fans, are sending him love.

Dave Coulier Opens Up About Being Diagnosed With Cancer Again

Coulier revealed on Tuesday, December 2, that he’d been diagnosed with tongue cancer. While opening up about the diagnosis on Today, the 66-year-old star said the cancer was detected during a PET scan this past October, at which point doctors noticed that a previously discovered growth on his tongue had expanded. After a biopsy was conducted, it was formally deduced that the comedian contracted early stage, P16-positive oropharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma. Coulier recalled being taken aback by the news:

The American Cancer Society says the P16 protein serves as an indicator for human papillomavirus (or HPV). When it comes to P16-positive cancer, HPV-16 – a sexually transmitted infection, causes it. A silver lining to Dave Coulier’s position as a “positive” patient is that the outlook is much better for those who are in the “negative” category. Coulier – who just shared seven months ago that he was cancer-free – also expressed optimism over his treatment:

On the whole, Coulier is undergoing 35 treatments, per Today, and those will last until the end of this year. Although it’s unfortunate to hear that the Real Ghostbusters icon is contending with yet another cancer battle, it’s comforting that his prognosis looks good. What’s also heartwarming is the array of well wishes he’s been receiving following the announcement.

John Stamos And Fans Reach Out To Dave Coulier Amid His Diagnosis

The casts of Full House and Fuller House (which are available to stream with a Netflix subscription and HBO Max subscription, respectively) have remained close over the years. So it wasn’t surprising to me in the slightest that John Stamos (who played Jesse Katsopolis on both sitcoms) shouted out Dave Coulier following his cancer announcement. Stamos screenshotted an image from Coulier’s Today interview and shared it to his Instagram story. He also shared a two-word caption:

Stamos previously went viral for supporting Coulier after his first cancer diagnosis by donning a bald cap as a way of showing solidarity with his buddy’s newly shaved head. The Grandfathered actor received backlash for the movie, though Coulier swiftly responded, saying that Stamos’ gesture was well-timed and needed. Around that same time, some other former castmates like Candace Cameron Bure and Jodie Sweetin showed love as well as fans. Now, fans are showing love again, and some of the Instagram comments can be seen below:

The love for Dave Coulier – who’s still been attending conventions this year – is real, and he himself hasn’t shied away from the legacy of Full House or its continuation series. Back in 2023, Coulier actually launched the Full House Rewind podcast. It’s incredibly sweet that the fanbase still has as much for Coulier as he has for them. On that note, let’s send Coulier all of the positive vibes as he undergoes this latest round of treatment.

Actor and media personality Jerry O’Connell is quite active when it comes to social media. His feeds are typically flooded not only with thoughts and comments but also with a slew of photos featuring celebrities he crosses paths with. Despite having that in mind, I can’t say I would’ve expected O’Connell to post a photo with John Stamos – who was previously married to his wife, Rebecca Romijn. More than a few fans took notice of the unexpected pairing and, needless to say, they have some truly excellent thoughts.

My first instinct was to assume that a big event was what brought John Stamos and Jerry O’Connell together, and I was right. Both actors attended Howie Mandel’s 70th birthday on Saturday, November 22. Sometime during or after the festivities, O’Connell took to his Instagram to share the selfie he took with Stamos and the Full House icon’s wife, Caitlin (who he met on Law & Order: SVU). Take a look at the post, which also includes a joke about another high-profile meeting that recently took place at the White House:

Considering the drama that spilled over between O’Connell and Stamos a few years ago, this is big. Their reported feud began in 2023 after Stamos released his memoir, If You Would Have Told Me, in which he made pointed comments about Romijn, who he was married to from 1998 to 2005. Stamos wrote about “betrayal” among other topics and suggested that Romijn “sometimes subtly and sometimes openly” suggested he wasn’t intelligent enough for her. For her part, Romijn said she was “blindsided” by the remarks.

Around that time, Jerry O’Connell said he wouldn’t clap back at the sentiments shared by his wife’s ex-husband. O’Connell’s logic was that by responding, he would simply “bring attention to a situation I don’t want to feed into.” Now, however, it seems he and John Stamos let bygones be bygones, at least for the sake of Howie Mandel’s party. In the comments, Mandel himself joked about bringing people together, while fans joined in with some funny responses of their own:

Suddenly, I feel the need to ask Siri to play “Why Can’t We Be Friends?” by War. In all seriousness, though, this is a sweet turn of events, and I wish I could’ve been a fly on the wall. Honestly, I can’t even begin to imagine what those two men had to say to each other following that bit of drama. Regardless of what was said, though, the selfie above is a nice bit of proof of the O’Connell/Stamos run-in.

Of course, relationship-wise, everyone seems to have moved on accordingly. Jerry O'Connell and Rebecca Romijn have been married since 2007 and they have twin daughters. The two are also very supportive of each other, with O’Connell even praising his wife’s reprisal of Mystique in the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday. Meanwhile, John Stamos and Caitlin McHugh (who married in 2018) also seem to have a tender romance, and they share a son.

I can’t say with complete certainty whether the Mandel party photo officially marks the end of the O’Connell/Stamos tiff. However, like those who commented on O’Connell’s post, I’ll simply relish the fact that he and Stamos spent some time together.

Music is a big part of any Walt Disney World experience. Disney songs are iconic, and walking around the park and hearing a favorite can instantly transport a person to a magical place. However, there’s a lot of other popular music you’ll also find at the park from time to time, and apparently, a lot of people wanted to hear The Beach Boys' "California Girls" at Epcot this weekend, at which point John Stamos was also present.

The annual Epcot International Food and Wine Festival also includes the Eat to the Beat concert series. Dozens of bands, usually popular groups from years past that are still performing, appear in the amphitheater in the American Gardens Theater. It can be a fun way to relive past glories. On that note, a lot of people experienced The Beach Boys along with Stamos. Based on a video posted to TikTok, the crowd that was present on the night of Sunday, November 16 didn’t just fill the seats, but the entire American Pavilion.

Many have said Walt Disney World is too crowded, but Epcot certainly doesn’t usually look like this. The crowd is just packed in the space behind the theater so they can hear The Beach Boys perform, unless they’re all there to see John Stamos.

The Full House icon has appeared on and off with The Beach Boys since 1985, often playing drums. Considering that Stamos himself is a noted Disney Adult and even a Club 33 member, it’s perhaps not a shock that he made one of his appearances when the band came to Epcot. Might as well get some Disney World time in while you’re working, right?

The Beach Boys that performed at Epcot aren’t exactly the same band that most people think of when they hear the name. Mike Love is the only original band member who plays with the group, although Bruce Greenwood, who started performing with them as early as 1965, is also part of the ensemble. As for band co-founder and songwriter Brian Wilson, he passed away earlier this year.

Many of the bands that perform at Eat to the Beat return year after year. However, this was the Beach Boys' first appearance at Epcot. It's unclear if a turnout like this means that the band will be back due to obvious popularity or if Disney World might not want to deal with crowds like this again.

The Beach Boys will perform again tonight, Monday, November 17, which marks the final night of the Eat to the Beat concert series. The Epcot International Food and Wine Festival runs through this week, then it will make way for the Epcot International Festival of the Holidays starting the day after Thanksgiving. Celebrities will again draw in the crowds as numerous stars from Brendan Fraser to Brie Larson to the voice of Megara, Susan Egan, read the story of Christmas.

In honor of Glen Powell’s birthday, John Stamos is celebrating with…his birthday suit. That’s right, as the Top Gun: Maverick actor turned 37 on October 21, his Scream Queens co-star took to Instagram to wish him well. However, it also included him admitting that Powell is “the man who’s seen me naked more times than I’d like to admit,” and some photos that seem to prove it.

While Powell has a great run on both the 2025 TV schedule and 2025 movie schedule, yesterday, some took a moment to celebrate his birthday. As I mentioned, John Stamos was included in that bunch, as he posted the following silly photos he’s taken with Powell that show them nearly nude, hiding behind show curtains and towels and in a sauna on Instagram. Take a look:

I can’t stop laughing. All these photos are hilarious and show how fun these guys are. It also does prove the point Stamos made in the caption. Plus, I love that this is a topic he brings up time and time again.

For context, this isn’t the first time the Full House actor has posted that nearly nude photo of himself and Powell. Over a year ago, he hilariously uploaded it to celebrate Labor Day Weekend. Plus, he’s shared stories about things like shower scenes he’s filmed with the Twisters actor before. So, this birthday post feels pretty on-brand for the pals.

Along with this upload being very cheeky, it’s also a sweet example of the friendship these two share. Throughout the years, both of them have looked back fondly on their time working together on Scream Queens, and they’ve shown support for their other big (and silly) life moments. For example, a couple of years ago, when Glen Powell’s family dressed up as Buddy the Elf, Stamos commented that he’d like to play their “Mrs. Claus” next year.

So, overall, the continued friendship and support these two have for each other is wonderful. And the pictures that come with it are almost always hilarious, as John Stamos proved with these nearly nude photos.

Now, I’d love to hear the Fuller House star’s thoughts on Powell’s upcoming projects, like The Running Man, and wild scenes he’s been working on for them (like the one where he’ll be rappelling a building while only wearing a towel).

I also think, based on this cheeky post, that John Stamos would be a fan of Powell’s new series Chad Powers (which can be streamed with a Hulu subscription). Based on the fact that this birthday post falls right in line with other messages these two have sent each other, it seems like they share a sense of humor, and therefore, I think the Anyone But You actor’s pal would get a real kick out of his new comedy series.

You can also catch Powell in his series Chad Powers, as it drops new episodes every Tuesday in the same place, and you can see him on the big screen when The Running Man hits theaters on November 14. Earlier this month, it was announced that Full House alum Lori Loughlin was separating from Mossimo Guinolli, her husband of 28 years. The celebrity breakup comes five years after the couple served time in prison for their roles in the college admission scandal that got daughters Olivia Jade and Isabella Rose into USC under false pretenses. John Stamos apparently has some strong feelings about Guinolli, and he absolutely went off in defense of his former co-star.

John Stamos played Jesse Katsopolis on Full House several decades ago, with his character eventually marrying Lori Loughlin’s Rebecca Donaldson. The actors never took their romance off the screen, but just like most of the Full and Fuller House family, they’ve remained close friends. So when Stamos got to talking about Loughlin’s marriage coming to an end on the Good Guys podcast, he really didn’t hold back on how he thought his friend was better off. Stamos said:

John Stamos was reportedly devastated about what happened to Lori Loughlin amidst her legal issues, as she was written off of Fuller House and fired by Hallmark, where she starred in When Calls the Heart. Stamos has defended her over the college admission scandal, saying she didn’t know what was going on.

He doubled down on that sentiment on the podcast, blaming Mossimo Guinolli — “She goes to fucking prison for this asshole.” — and saying she “didn’t deserve to be dragged through that.” When co-host Ben Soffer mentioned rumors of infidelity, John Stamos refused to confirm or deny but said:

Lori Loughlin’s actions following her release from prison in 2020 seem to back up John Stamos’ words, as she reportedly spent $500,000 — the same amount she and her husband were accused of illegally donating — to pay the full tuition and expenses for two other students to attend USC for four years.

As strong as the bond seems to be between the Uncle Jesse and Aunt Becky actors, there’s no love lost between John Stamos and Mossimo Guinolli, as the Grandfathered star continued:

John Stamos thinks Mossimo Guinolli fumbled big time with Lori Loughlin, and the actor predicts Guinolli might come to regret some of his actions in the future. Stamos concluded:

There’s certainly no mystery about what John Stamos thinks of his friend’s ex, and while we can’t be sure what Lori Loughlin thinks about his candidness, it’s probably nice to have people like Stamos who are willing to go so hard in the paint for you.

I’m not sure if you heard, but a couple of famous people announced yesterday that they’re getting married. Look, unless you live under a rock or your internet was out all day, you are aware of the news that the ultimate power couple, Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce, are getting married. A lot of dedicated fans will probably remember exactly where they were when they heard the news for the rest of their lives. I, however, will forever remember where John Stamos and Josh Gad were when they learned the news.

It turns out they were hanging out together, at Disneyland, and they decided to celebrate on Pirates of the Caribbean, along with a bit of Taylor’s own music, and the result, posted to Instagram, is absolutely glorious.

All of social media has been freaking out since yesterday, and thousands of people, including many celebrities, offered their congratulations to Taylor and Travis, but I’m not sure it gets better than this right here. Many people get engaged at Disney Parks, but being serenaded by a couple of famous Disney Adults from the Happiest Place on Earth has to be the next best thing.

Also, can we stop and talk for a second about the fact that John Stamos and Josh Gad just hang out at Disneyland together sometimes? Both of them are pretty famous Disney Adults, so you’re as likely to find either of them there as anyplace else, but I had no idea they were buddies who would go hit rides together just for fun.

While I'm sure they get the VIP treatment when they visit, there's likely still a lot of "normal" stuff, like riding Pirates of the Caribbean, that they do, and I'd love to know what it is. I want to hang out with them. And not just because John Stamos can get me into Club 33. Though having a meal there with both of these guys would be amazing. Like My Dinner with Andre for Disney nerds. I need to find a way to make this happen.

Josh Gad has been busy taking on various Cast member jobs at Disneyland, from Jungle Cruise skipper to Railroad conductor. John Stamos is a frequent Disney collaborator and an absolute superfan. When the two of them are together, it’s like achieving a Disney singularity.

Taylor Swift has been spotted at Disney Parks on more than one occasion, and as a Super Bowl champion, Travis Kelce is no stranger either. His brother Jason Kelce has also taken his family to Walt Disney World.

While Travis and Taylor may not have gotten engaged there, one wonders if we might see a Disney World honeymoon or even a Disney World wedding, in their future. However, no matter what happens on that front, I'll just be happy that Josh Gad and John Stamos learned about their life update while riding Pirates of the Caribbean.

America’s Dad, Tom Hanks, is arguably the most beloved and well-known Hollywood actor of his time. From the jump, he’s made us laugh with his classic roles, proved he could be a successful actor and screenwriter and grow sustainably in Tinseltown by becoming a celeb with a production company. Needless to say, Hanks' work is widely celebrated, and personally, even more loved. And as he literally full-on leaps into his birthday, plenty of celebs are celebrating the 69-year-old.

The A-lister took to his Instagram yesterday to dip into the festivities a bit early and took the time to share two things. First he explained that the video Hanks posted of himself jumping into a body of water was the only way to celebrate the big occasion. Leave it to the star of the developing Toy Story 5 to find the perfect balance between work and play on his birthday. I’m not sure many would think of, let alone seek out, something that is amusing but productive to ring in their b-day. But I’m not surprised Hanks has. Personally, if I were him, I don’t know if I’d leave that yacht (assuming what he’s jumping off of) or that gorgeous beachy scene. That alone strikes an equilibrium for me.

As mentioned, plenty of loved ones rolled in earlier this morning to officially send the Oscar winner plenty of well wishes for his birthday. Of course, wife, Rita Wilson, was there to kick off the celebrations through her own IG account. She shared a simple standalone image of her husband with her personal sentiments as the caption: “Happy Birthday, my love. 🩷” See the sweet dedication for yourself:

I’m a real sucker for a caring and loving birthday wish, and Wilson’s is no exception. She could’ve posted a catalog of Hollywood Hanks' images, ranging from carpet chic to iconic stills, but rather opted for one in their home. There’s a real sincerity with the veteran actor sitting at home, in regular clothes and with his typewriter. Just add it to the list of why I love this power couple.

Naturally, the Jingle All the Way alum wasn’t the only one to love on Hanks for his 69th. Everyone from John Stamos to Goldie Hawn and beyond showed up in the comments, sending nothing but good vibes and a sweet but odd nickname. Here are just a few of the big names that could be found:

Clearly it’s a birthday many do not miss. As I said, this is just a portion of Hollywood big hitters wishing him well, among many others. The thing I’m a bit puzzled about, though, is Stamos’s name for Hanks. Where did it come from, and is it regularly used (knowing this may or may not be my bday wish this year)?

The interesting nickname aside, all of us at CinemaBlend also want to join in with Wilson and co to wish Tom Hanks a happy 69th birthday! To celebrate, I may very well dive into his 2025 movie calendar title, The Phoenician Scheme.

It's been three years since the sudden passing of comedian Bob Saget, but his spirit remains in the hearts of fans everywhere, but especially those of the Full House stars keeping him in the conversation with their hilarious stories. Jodie Sweetin and Andrea Barber have helped pull back that curtain over the years, such as discussing how he struggled with being "America's Dad" while also performing NSFW stand-up. I can't help but laugh at the actress' stories about their parents reacting to Saget telling a dirty joke on set.

John Stamos and Lori Loughlin were guests on a recent live episode of Sweetin and Barber's throwback podcast How Rude, Tanneritos!, and the former discussed his parents visiting the set to watch him film episodes on the nights before the studio audience arrived. Sweetin and Barber added that, as child actors, their parents were legally required to be there whenever they worked, and how they'd react when Bob Saget told an off-color joke during filming:

Stamos and Loughlin laughed and went on to explain that Bob Saget's jokes often ended with the parents complaining and the adult cast getting lectured by producers. It's not the first time we've heard this, as the Olsen Twins, even as young as they were during the show, remember the adult cast being pretty inappropriate.

While the Olsen twins alleged the adult cast as a whole could skew inappropriate, the only other offense John Stamos mentioned on the podcast was that Dave Coulier had a "gas problem" when filming. It's not the worst issue in the world, unless you're one of the child actors, who pointed out they were all around eye-level height with his butt at the time. I can imagine it's hard to make it through a scene when you're getting crop-dusted nonstop.

Is this the kind of behavior that would fly on the set of a show premiering on the 2025 TV schedule? One certainly has to wonder, but it's not like producers didn't know what they were getting into when they brought in Bob Saget. The gone-too-soon comedian was performing stand-up for a decade prior to landing the gig as Danny Tanner on Full House, so it's not like his fake offspring were his core audience.

It's also worth noting that even if he might've ruffled the feathers of parents, Bob Saget was still beloved by the cast. We've heard many hilarious stories about him from co-stars like Dave Coulier over the years that mix in his penchant for inappropriate jokes and his overall ability to make others laugh. To be honest, I'd love to see one of those dirty jokes he told in the midst of filming, assuming footage of it exists.

Full House is streaming on Hulu, in case anyone feels the urge to revisit some of their favorite episodes. Just don't go in expecting some raunchy humor, though there are Bob Saget stand-up specials where one could hear that.

It’s amazing that 40 years after initially meeting on Full House — and some even continuing to appear on the 2025 TV schedule — the cast members remain so close. This is especially true given the actors’ wide age range and differing comedic sensibilities. However, Jodie Sweetin and Andrea Barber got real about a “weird question” they get from fans about just how close they were to their co-stars, and it sounds like people are confusing the Tanners with The Brady Bunch.

Full House Vets Reveal A Question They Get About John Stamos

John Stamos may have played heartthrob Jesse Katsopolis on Full House (streaming with a Max subscription) and the spinoff Fuller House (streaming with a Netflix subscription), but to the young ladies on the show, he was simply Uncle Jesse. That familial dynamic, however, hasn’t kept minds from wondering, and Andrea Barber (aka Kimmy Gibler) addressed that on the How Rude, Tannerinos! podcast, saying:

It’s not even the family thing that is the most disturbing about this question, but the fact that Jodie Sweetin was 5 years old when Full House started (13 by the finale). Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, meanwhile, were 6 months old — 8 years old when it ended.

Even Candace Cameron Bure and Andrea Barber, who were slightly older at 11, were probably a little young to be developing a crush on someone more than 10 years older than them (at least in the earlier seasons). Jodie Sweetin jumped in, adding to what her co-host said:

Technically Jesse wasn’t an uncle to Kimmy, but the dynamic was still there, and Andrea Barber shut down any speculation to the contrary, saying:

The thing is, not all TV casts have been known to keep things 100% platonic. Yeah, I’m talking about you, Brady kids.

Barry Williams Confirmed All The Brady Bunch Kids "Hooked Up"

They may have played step-siblings on The Brady Bunch from 1969 to 1974, but those fraternal relationships didn’t stay chaste off the screen. In celebrating the sitcom’s 55th anniversary last year, Barry Williams told US Weekly:

Sounds like there was a lot going on behind the scenes of The Brady Bunch and in the years that followed. It’s funny that the love connections happened between the actors who played the two oldest stepsiblings (Greg and Marsha), the middle children (Peter and Jan) and the youngest two (annoying TV siblings Bobby and Cindy).

Much to Jodie Sweetin and Andrea Barber’s chagrin, I’m sure, that’s not where the romantic interests stopped. Despite these Brady Bunch rumors driving Susan Olsen nuts, Barry Williams said he did have a crush — if not an affair — with his TV mom Florence Henderson. In the actor’s words:

Was there a kiss at the end of that date?

At least in the case of The Brady Bunch, all of the hookups seemed to be age appropriate (I’m giving Florence Henderson the benefit of the doubt that the Barry Williams affair was one-sided), so it somehow feels less skeezy than any Full House crushes might have. It’s hard to believe that it’s been nearly 40 years since we first met the Tanner family on ABC’s Full House. Many fans who have come to love the show weren’t even born when it premiered in 1987. The Olsen twins hadn’t even had their 1st birthday yet, and now Ashley Olsen is a mom. Candace Cameron Bure has a son who is married. The passage of time is astounding, so seeing throwback pics from a Season 1 party really has me in my feels.

This blast of nostalgia comes to us thanks to Jodie Sweetin, who played middle sister Stephanie to CCB’s DJ and the Olsen twins’ Michelle. On the Instagram page of her podcast How Rude, Tanneritos!, which she co-hosts with Andrea Barber (aka Kimmy Gibler), Sweetin shared some pics from the cast’s Season 1 Christmas party.

Honestly, after seeing those photos, could Jodie Sweetin possibly be cuter? The actress would have been 5 years old at Christmas in 1987, and I am loving her adorable sweater. (Anybody else getting Mr. Bear vibes?)

She’s pictured in the Instagram post with Bob Saget, who played her dad Danny on Full House (which can be streamed with a Max subscription), as well as John Stamos (better known as Uncle Jesse) and Dave Coulier (who I have admittedly called “Uncle Joey,” despite him not being related). Saget looks like a baby himself in that flashback to the ‘80s, and that’s another tough thing to come to terms with regarding time, seeing as it’s been three years since we lost the standup comedian way too soon.

Bob Saget died in January 2022 after suffering what was determined to be a head trauma following a show in Florida. His Full House family has continued to “fill the well,” so to speak, and preserve his memory by sharing stories of their good times together.

On the post, I also love seeing how close John Stamos clearly was with Jodie Sweetin. Stamos seems to have had a prickly relationship with his co-stars in the beginning. He got the Olsen twins temporarily fired, he “pissed off” Bob Saget and he was nervous about being upstaged by the cute kiddos.

But you can’t look at that cute Christmas party pic and think for one second that he wasn’t already smitten with his TV niece.

It’s always a delight when the Full House cast give us glimpses into the past — even if it does make us feel ancient — and we got plenty of that when the actors celebrated the sitcom’s 35th anniversary a couple of years ago. John Stamos also shared a throwback pic of himself with his arms wrapped around both Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen when they were toddlers.

Seeing how much these actors always cared for each other reminds us of why we fell in love with Full House in the first place and why it remains one of the best series on Max right now. Full House is a much-beloved series in the history of television, with many still enjoying reruns with their Max subscription. They made their strong opinions known on a recent episode of How Rude, Tanneritos!, on which Barber declared:

On this episode, which originally aired October 16, 1987, Danny (Bob Saget) ships the girls off to grandma’s house so he can enjoy some male bonding time with Jesse (John Stamos) and Joey (Dave Coulier). Despite Danny’s apprehension to move on so soon after his wife’s death, the guys end up on a rickety boat full of women.

Jodie Sweetin agreed with her podcast co-host, though she threw out a couple of possible competitors in the “worst episode” category, saying:

Andrea Barber stood firm, though, saying that in the years they’ve been rewatching all of the Tanner family fun, she hasn’t come across an episode as bad as this one. In her words:

I’ve got to say, I agree wholeheartedly with “Sea Cruise” receiving this designation. Maybe I’m a little biased, since I grew up alongside DJ, Stephanie and Michelle, but doesn’t everybody agree Full House is at its best when the girls are around? Even John Stamos admitted he was nervous early on about getting upstaged by the child actors.

Five episodes into the series, I have to wonder how many people were tuning in to hear the double entendres and innuendo of the three single guys, not to mention their cringe musical numbers, corny dialogue and Jesse's fragile ego.

I was, however, a little surprised at how easily Andrea Barber and Jodie Sweetin came to their conclusion. Given how “uncomfortable” they were watching the DJ episode “Shape Up” from Season 4 — in which Candace Cameron Bure’s character stops eating in hopes of losing weight before Kimmy’s pool party — I thought that might have been in the running.

Of course, we all have our favorite Full House episodes and our least favorite, and with it being one of the best shows to stream on Max right now, you can revisit any of them that you wish.

As we wait for 2025 TV schedule to truly kick off, now feels like a good time to get into some of those sitcoms perfect for long binges. Full House feels like a no-brainer in that respect, as both fans and veterans of the ABC show continue to keep its legacy in mind rather fondly. Nowhere can that be better seen than in star John Stamos’ recent new years message, which saw him shout out co-star Dave Coulier, amidst his battle with cancer.

What’s more, fellow on-screen family member Candace Cameron Bure also reached out with her own best wishes for a happy and healthy road ahead. With Stamos taking to Instagram with a photo featuring his wife Caitlin McHugh and their son, the Spidey and His Amazing Friends star had this lengthy message of hope to share with the world:

Even if you aren’t a fan of Full House, it’s a beautiful sight to see a sitcom family actually keep the love going long after they’ve wrapped on their roles. John Stamos has been showing that love ever since Dave Coulier’s cancer diagnosis became public; which inspired stunts both heartfelt and silly.

The latter part of the spectrum inspiring Stamos’ bald cap show of solidarity, which cause a bit of a divide among the fans. What can’t be debated though are the continued well wishes from Coulier’s Full House family.

Not only supporting the Canadian funny man during his time of need, folks like Candace Cameron Bure have shown love to John Stamos and others in the process. Looking through the comments of that post, you can see the former Aurora Teagarden star had a very special message for her other TV uncle:

You don’t make one of the greatest TGIF comedies of all time by faking the energy needed to act like a family. That’s especially true when you take into account Full House’s initial eight season run, and Fuller House’s additional five seasons of wackiness on Netflix. The legacy cast of this legendary sitcom all love each other like an actual family, which only makes the enduring memory of such feats more powerful.

John Stamos, Candace Cameron Bure, and Dave Coulier are all headed into the new year with faith for better days ahead. And it’s hard not to want that for them, as reflecting their sitcom familial relations is as heartwarming as it was when they did it as the Tanners.

If you want to have a nice throwback marathon of Full House, you don’t need to believe in the milk man, the paper boy, or evening TV. Ok, maybe you need half of that last one, as using a Max subscription will allow you to revisit the Tanners everywhere you look for streaming entertainment. What time of day you decide to wood, er would, like to do so it totally up to you.

John Stamos made audiences scream “Have Mercy!” through his role on one of the best binge-watchable sitcoms Full House. He also starred as a devoted medical worker on the beloved drama ER. With Stamos’ history of playing such likable, heartwarming characters, it’s hard to picture him playing anyone twisted. However, years ago, he actually auditioned to play what became an iconic (and sociopathic) Jim Carrey role. When you find out which one that was, your mind will be blown like mine.

The now-61-year-old actor is known for his good looks but, at one point, he was willing to cover up his visage in green fur. If you see where I’m getting at here, the former sitcom actor revealed to James Austin Johnson’s Grinch on Tis The Grinch Holiday Podcast that he was very close to playing Dr. Seuss’ sinister character. The beloved star also explained the reason why he had to pass on the part:

I truly cannot believe that in another timeline, I could've seen the same star who brought the sizzling Jesse Katsopolis to life don that devilish grin underneath green hair and makeup! This is too wild for me to even comprehend. If you look at any shot of Jim Carrey as Whoville’s antagonist, it’s almost impossible to imagine anyone else pulling off the chaotic energy the Golden Globe winner accomplished. Nevertheless, it's interesting to think about what could've been.

It’s understandable why John Stamos would back out of Ron Howard's How the Grinch Stole Christmas, given his makeup allergy. He wouldn’t be the only actor who endured the negative effects of looking completely unrecognizable for a role. For instance, one BTS fact about Tim Burton’s Batman was that Jack Nicholson was allergic to spirit gum (an adhesive for applying prosthetics). So the team had to devise another way to construct his creepy Joker smile. John Rhys-Davies said no to reprising Gimli in The Hobbit to avoid wearing the brutal makeup he was allergic to.

What one can glean from Jim Carrey’s best movies is that the Ace Ventura actor is a pro bringing his characters to life through his physical, emotional, and on-point comedic timing. However, wearing prosthetics on his nose, ears, teeth, and ears was no picnic for the Canadian actor. During an appearance on The Graham Norton Show, the Majestic actor said he felt like he was being “buried alive” every day and worked with a CIA operative to overcome the torture of the eight-hour makeup process.

In fact, the former In Living Color cast member said his one condition if he were to reprise The Grinch would be for motion capture to be used to go green compared to the “extremely excruciating process” of full-on makeup. I mean, Avatar, the recent Planet of the Apes series and more film proved actors don’t need to wear full makeup to look indistinguishable.

That aside, I'm still in shock that John Stamos was close to showing off his mischievous charm in full green as The Grinch. While the prosthetic makeup didn’t sit well with the TV actor compared to Jim Carrey, the potential for Stamos to embody the cynical, Christmas-ruining creature is something we can only try to imagine. I'm not sure I'll ever stop thinking about how the General Hospital actor’s interpretation of the role would have compared to Carrey's and whether it also would've garnered praise.

Dave Coulier – the actor best known for playing Joey Gladstone on Full House and its sequel series, Fuller House – recently disclosed that he’s been diagnosed with cancer. The fan-favorite actor is currently battling Stage 3 non-Hodgkins lymphoma and, since he shared that information, he’s received support from John Stamos and Candace Cameron Bure as well as other stars and various fans. Aiming to stand in solidarity with his friend, Stamos recently sported a bald cap, and that was met with backlash. With that, Coulier provided a swift response.

John Stamos took to Instagram this week to pay tribute to his longtime co-star amid his cancer battle. Famous for playing Jesse Katsopolis on one of the best TGIF shows and its spinoff and sporting sweet, black locks, Stamos sported a bald cap in several images he shared. In addition to sharing the pics, the Grandfathered alum also praised his good buddy for “handling this with so much strength and positivity.” You can check out the post down below:

Some fans expressed positive feelings over the Big Shot star's gesture. Yet there were others who took issue with it. Some appeared to question why the actor didn’t actually shave his head, while others accused him of being performative with his actions. Dave Coulier himself seemingly caught wind of the responses and ultimately penned a response that was shared to Instagram. He began his statement by saying that he was “sorry to see a bunch of negative comments” at the start of his cancer journey. Coulier added:

The veteran comedian then went on to say that he’s heard from a number of people who’ve been encouraged by how he’s sought to spread awareness about cancer screenings. From there, he declared his intention to “laugh in the face of adversity” as he continues to deal with his medical situation. The Muppet Babies alum also shared another reason why his diagnosis is so personal for him:

The Full House cast has shown over the years that they’re quite close. In many ways, they themselves have become a family in real life and have developed a bond similar to those of the characters they played. All have met up at conventions over the years, where they’ve regaled fans with behind-the-scenes stories from their hit shows. And, just a few years ago, they all came together to collectively mourn and pay tribute after the death of Bob Saget.

Regardless of how some people may feel about John Stamos’ way of honoring his friend, it seems that he and Dave Coulier are remaining close at this time. The world continued to remain entrenched in wholesome Full House nostalgia vibes long after Netflix’s sequel series Fuller House wrapped up in 2020, thanks in part to the cast members staying in the spotlight. The message was definitely a shock to Coulier’s family, friends and followers, and in his interview with People, he shared that he’d actually revealed his somber diagnosis update with the bulk of the Full House clan via group message, saying:

It's completely understandable that Dave Coulier would immediately reach out to former co-stars after talking it out with his wife Melissa Coulier. He apparently shared the news with John Stamos, Candace Cameron Bure, Jodie Sweetin, Andrea Barber, Lori Loughlin, and Scott Weinger, as well as the show's creator Jeff Franklin.

Obviously those who were in the personal chat chimed in with personal messages to Coulier himself, but some also took to social media to publicly share support for the comedian. Candace Cameron Bure took to Instagram Stories to share the following message over an interview clip of Coulier on Today. As she put it:

It's worth noting that Dave Coulier has reportedly been the most open to remaining friendly with Bure following the backlash the actress faced after making those "traditional marriage" comments regarding her then-new role behind the scenes at Great American Family. (Jodie Sweetin was also forgiving, but definitely defended the LGBTQ+ community all-around.)

John Stamos' Message For Dave Coulier

For many Full House fans, it's almost instinctual to thinking about John Stamos in the same breath as Dave Coulier, considering Joey and Jesse's friendship on the show carried over so strongly into the real world for the actors. So it likely would have been weirder if the current animated Iron Man voice actor hadn't posted anything specifically directed at Coulier's downer news.

Melissa Coulier shared her appreciation for Stamos in the comments of his post, with other supportive messages and replies coming from Everybody Loves Raymond vet Brad Garrett, the Full House Rewind podcast page and more.

Dave Coulier's diagnosis reveal comes a little less than three years after Bob Saget suddenly died in his hotel room after hitting his head in a fall. And fans like me are definitely hoping that the Out of Control vet will make it through treatments as happily and healthily as possible.

As an additional tidbit for Full House fans that isn’t quite so downbeat: Dave Coulier revealed in the latest episode of Full House Rewind that he now has a new co-host in the form of fellow sitcom vet Marla Sokoloff, who famously portrayed Gia Mahan on both the mothership series and its follow-up.

If you take a look at 2024's movie releases thus far, you'll quickly notice that Glen Powell is coming up on top as one of the biggest stars the internet can’t get over. The term “Glen Powell Summer” has been coined by fans after all between his recent memorable roles in Netflix’s Hit Man and Twisters! Now, since the actor and John Stamos got fans even more thirsty with a recent post, we might as well cap off the movie season by stirring the Glen Powell pot further.

To celebrate Labor Day weekend, John Stamos surprised his Instagram followers on Friday with a photo of the pair shirtless and all muscled up. Check it out:

Glen Powell in particular looks like he went practically nude for the photo, as a tasteful skateboard is the only thing censoring his body. For John Stamos on the other hand, you can see his shorts as he holds shopping bags and has a cigar in his mouth. Since Glen Powell is leaning into the thirst this summer, it’s time to air some of the ways the internet is falling headfirst for the actor. Of course, Twisters is a major player in the whole thing. As one Twitter user posted, the moment where Powell’s character wears his cowboy hat and a white shirt in the rain was something else:

Ok, the Twisters cast has fun. The natural disaster sequel to ‘90s classic Twister has been out in the world for a week now, and as the film’s official TikTok account can attest to, Glen Powell, Daisy Edgar-Jones and Anthony Ramos just successfully danced their way through a press tour.

After the trio went viral earlier this month for doing TikTok’s trending dance of the moment, Charli XCX’s “Apple,” Powel, Edgar-Jones and Ramos put out a whole montage of themselves dancing with various famous people all over. Check it out:

In the new video, the three Twisters leads brought it to Miranda Lambert’s original song for the movie’s soundtrack “Ain’t In Kansas Anymore,” and they did it with a ton of recognizable names. Can you spot them with Live With Kelly And Mark’s married couple Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos, Today With Hoda & Jenna’s hosts, Al Roker, James Bay and … John Stamos?! Yes, they did that.

Clearly fans are loving it whenever these three decide to bust a choreographed move together. It all started with that time when Daisy Edgar-Jones posted a video of herself with Ramos and Powell doing the “Apple” dance in the name of Brat Summer. This cast has a lot to dance about, too. Over the weekend, Twisters blew away expectations when it opened to $80 million to start, making it the third biggest movie debut of 2024 (domestically). It’ll have a lot bigger competition this weekend as Deadpool and Wolverine stands to be one of the most high-profile 2024 movies.

Even so, Twisters is definitely going viral for a number of reasons, including its wildly thrilling 4DX theater experience. Plus, Glen Powell brought his own dog, Brisket, to the premiere, along with sharing that the dog was adopted during the making of Twisters to help him get through a breakup.

So the people want a sequel for Glen Powell, Daisy Edgar-Jones and Anthony Ramos, especially if it includes some form of dance sequence! Whether we get that or not, it’s a blast to see these cast-mates having a good time together dancing their press tour away.

Who Wants to Be a Millionaire returned not too long ago in the 2024 TV schedule, with new sets of celebrities ready to tackle trivia in the hopes of winning up to $1 million for charity. There has been plenty of fun with John Mulaney and Nick Kroll burning through lifelines as well as Lisa Ann Walter and Rosie O'Donnell showing off pun skills. The latest episode teamed up Full House alums John Stamos and Dave Coulier, and I knew I was going to rewatch as soon as it took them a minute and some debate to answer a Law & Order: SVU question... when Stamos himself was on SVU! Luckily, rewatching won't be a challenge with a Hulu subscription.

After the two sitcom stars made their entrances, Dave Coulier announced that he was playing for Children's Hospital of Michigan Foundation while John Stamos was playing for Childhelp. The men pretty much cruised through the first five questions, but they weren't so confident when they faced a question about TV, of all things, and they made the situation pretty entertaining... at least for me, as a Law & Order viewer! The $2,000 question posed to the Full House alums by host Jimmy Kimmel was:

Now, if you are a Law & Order: SVU fan who watched the milestone 25th season, you probably knew right away that Rockefeller Plaza was renamed for Olivia Benson earlier this year, and maybe even seen Mariska Hargitay's photos from it. Still, the four options for Stamos and Coulier were all shows that premiered 25 years ago:

• A. The West Wing
• B. Family Guy
• C. Law & Order: Special Victims Unit
• D. The Sopranos

Now, of course not everybody is going to be an SVU expert or have seen enough of these shows to narrow down the four to one. But Stamos and Coulier are such a great comedic duo that their debate was fun to watch, made all the more so for me due to the fact that I've definitely seen Stamos' episode of Law & Order: SVU more than once thanks to USA Network marathons. He guest-starred opposite Mariska Hargitay as Olivia Benson in Season 12, back in 2011.

And to his credit, Stamos admitted as much, and I'm not entirely convinced that he didn't 100% know the correct answer but just didn't want to commit when it was funnier for him to not know. Coulier said that they "couldn't be friends" if they got the question wrong with all four lifelines still at their disposal, but Stamos worked himself up to commit to SVU as their final answer... although he looked pretty nervous while waiting for Kimmel to reveal whether or not he was right!

Fortunately, Stamos did get the correct answer, and earned a kiss on the cheek from Coulier for it. All in all, I would certainly watch more episodes of just the two Full House veterans cracking jokes in front of Jimmy Kimmel. I'm not the only SVU fan who got a kick out of the former SVU guest star struggling over Olivia Benson, though, as there was definitely some commentary on X (formerly known as Twitter):

John Stamos is a celebrated TV actor known for playing the beloved Uncle Jesse in Full House and for starring in one of the best NBC Must See TV shows, ER. For all of his success though, the actor has faced his share of challenges. Stamos revealed in his memoir, If You Would Have Told Me, that he struggled with alcoholism. Sadly, many stars in Hollywood have lost their lives to that particular addiction and other dangerous habits. But, thankfully, Stamos is clean and credits Jonah Hill’s doctor for helping him avoid that tragic fate.

Addiction is a devastating disease that has prevented a lot of celebrities from reaching the age of 40. John Stamos admitted to Page Six that he could have suffered a tragic outcome if not for his therapist, Phil Stutz, who was the subject of Jonah Hill’s documentary:

Back in 2015, John Stamos was on the way to see his Full House co-star Bob Saget only to get pulled over for driving under the influence. He received three years of probation, was ordered to take a three-month alcohol abuse program, attend 52 AA meetings and partake in two hours of addiction counseling. After his DUI arrest, Stamos entered a substance abuse program one month later. Dr. Stutz, who Stamos has known for "close to 20 years" was instrumental in helping him get sober.

In the Netflix documentary Stutz, Jonah Hill opened up about his anxiety and was honest about his body issues, which he shared with Phil Stutz. Those who tuned into the doc were informed on the powerful tools with which the skilled therapist assisted the Superbad star. One such technique was The Grateful Flow, in which a person fights negative thoughts with gratitude. There's also the String of Pearls, in which each pearl symbols an action to add onto the string, and the Shadow, during which one talks to the part of themself they're ashamed of. Stutz’s therapy methods became so popular after the documentary that he gained major traction among social media users.

As for John Stamos, he seems to fully abide by the teachings he's learned from the viral therapist. During his recent interview, he went on to mention the words of wisdom he received from Phil Stutz during their sessions:

Those are brutally honest words, but they seem to have been incredibly effective for the You actor. In fact, John Stamos used his therapy sessions to help him get into character for the Hulu new release, UnPrisoned Season 2. In the new episodes, he plays a “family radical healing coach” who helps the Alexander family through sessions and uses unconventional methods. Stamos brings a blend of humor and emotion that'll hit audiences even more knowing he’s drawing from real-life experiences.

It’s truly wonderful that Phil Stutz helped John Stamos avoid the tragic fate that many stars have succumbed to due to addiction. One hopes that the fan-favorite actor continues to thrive and get the most out of his therapy sessions. When celebrities visit Disneyland they often get the VIP treatment, potentially getting access to opportunities the rest of us don’t. Or in the case of being a Kardashian, riding the teacups alone. However, it turns out that just being on TV isn’t quite enough to get into all the most exclusive locations. Sometimes even Full House’s Stephanie Tanner needs some help from her Uncle Jesse to have the ultimate Disneyland experience.

Jodie Sweetin posted some pictures to Instagram which showed herself and her daughter Zoie, who was celebrating her 16th birthday. The mother and daughter clearly had a blast, experiencing some of the best rides at Disneyland, but the highlight was having dinner at Disneyland's exclusive Club 33, an experience which happened thanks to Jodie’s “Uncle J,” as noted Disney Adult John Stamos was the one who arranged the meal.

It’s unclear if John Stamos is a Club 33 member or just a celebrity with the sort of pull that can get people into places at Disneyland. Club 33 membership is limited, and quite expensive, though the park has frequently hosted celebrities and other VIPs who are not members for individual meals. 

Considering that Stamos is a massive Disney fan, it certainly wouldn’t be that surprising if he was one of the few Club 33 members. The exclusive dining location, which was for years the only place you could purchase alcohol inside the park, reportedly has an extensive waiting list for membership despite its steep price tag and annual dues. Though membership comes with an annual pass and other perks, so it’s probably a solid deal if you can afford it. 

The picture at the foot of the Club 33 stairwell, which seems to be required when you go there, everybody who goes has one, looks amazing with these two ready for dinner. As a scarf fan myself, Sweetin looks great here. 

There are no images from inside Club 33 because Disneyland doesn’t allow pictures to be taken inside, though some celebrities have gotten in trouble for breaking that rule. Rebel Wilson, another noted Disney Adult, was banned from the park for a month for taking pictures inside the bathroom. 

Now I just need to find my Uncle Jesse who can set me up with access to Club 33. It’s definitely a bucket list item for me, as it was for Sweetin and her daughter, who call it a “lifelong dream” to have dinner there.

In addition to eating at Club 33, I'm also looking for a sponsor to experience dinner at 21 Royal. Even though I would certainly write about it, I’m not sure CinemaBlend would let me expense the most expensive dinner at Disneyland. Of course, for those of us who can't get into the exclusive places, there's still plenty of great food at Disneyland that we can have.

Lori Loughlin played an important role as Aunt Becky on ABC’s Full House, not just as an under-rated mother figure for DJ, Stephanie and Michelle after the death of their own mom, but as the woman who would eventually marry and have twins with John Stamos’ Uncle Jesse. While playing the TV wife of a perceived sex-crazed Casanova like John Stamos might not seem like a tall order, Loughlin recently revealed that Stamos had a ritual of sorts any time Jesse Katsopolis and Becky Donaldson had a smooch in the script, and now I’m wondering how little Nicky and Alex even made it into existence. 

Aunt Becky entered Full House in Season 2, but back then she was still Rebecca Donaldson, co-host of the fictional morning show Wake Up, San Francisco alongside Bob Saget’s Danny Tanner. By Season 4, though, she was an official member of the Tanner family after marrying Uncle Jesse. Lori Loughlin will likely have Full House fans rethinking the “You may now kiss the bride,” part of those nuptials — as well as every other romantic moment between the two — after she told former co-star Dave Coulier on the Full House Rewind podcast: 

Lori Loughlin recalled the story with a laugh, so clearly she didn’t take it too hard, although I have to admit I’d be tempted to ask the writers if maybe a divorce was in Jesse and Becky’s future. This revelation has me thinking back to how often the adorable couple shared kisses — and wondering how often John Stamos really did pull the Doritos-and-cigar trick.

It seems a bizarre choice for an actor, who you’d think would want to make his scene partner’s experience as pleasant as possible. On the other hand, it could be seen as next-level trolling, and respect to Stamos if he actually continued it for the duration of the eight-season series. It’s certainly a different approach to other famous co-stars — Adam Sandler and Jennifer Aniston, for example, where the Sandman’s wife Jackie actually requested that he “give Jennifer some sort of good time” when they kissed.

However offensive John Stamos’ breath, Lori Loughlin did reprise the role of Aunt Becky for the Fuller House spinoff in 2016, so it must not have been too traumatic. The bond that formed between the TV spouses seems to have endured over the years — as is the case for most of the Full House cast — and Stamos struggled in the aftermath of Loughlin’s college admission scandal. He faced backlash for defending her, at one point dropping an F-bomb in frustration over what was happening to his TV family.

Lori Loughlin has remained relatively quiet since serving her jail time, save for two Great American Family movies. Her most recent project, Blessings of Christmas, aired as part of the network’s block of holiday films. Hopefully her co-stars these days are keeping it minty fresh.

In his memoir If You Would Have Told Me that was released in 2023, John Stamos discusses a number of topics, including — of course — his role as Uncle Jesse on Full House, his concern early on about the sitcom’s future and other aspects of his career. He also delves into some intensely personal stories, revealing that he was sexually abused by a babysitter as a child and discussing his 2005 divorce from Rebecca Romijn. The X-Men actress initially remained mum on her ex-husband’s book but now admits that the accusations surprised her.

Nearly three months after If You Would Have Told Me: A Memoir was released, Rebecca Romijn broke her silence on John Stamos’ allegations of infidelity during their marriage. However, she wasn’t willing to go into detail when speaking to ET at the Critics’ Choice Awards, as she said: 

Rebecca Romijn and John Stamos met in 1994, and they tied the knot four years later. The couple split in 2004, with the divorce being finalized the following year. Romijn is now married to actor Jerry O’Connell, who refused to clap back at Stamos, sharing a similar response to his wife’s in regards to the memoir. He pointed out that any reaction he had would bring more attention to a situation that he didn’t want to feed into.

John Stamos wrote about “betrayal” in If You Would Have Told Me, saying (via Page Six) that it starts “as a sinking feeling in your stomach, grows into a suspicion that clouds your every thought, and by the time you find out the truth, it’s uniquely horrible at first but also expected, like you’ve been waiting for something bad to happen.” He also said that Rebecca Romijn implied “sometimes subtly and sometimes openly” that he was not smart enough for her.

While the Star Trek: Strange New Worlds actress didn’t respond immediately to the accusations, Jerry O’Connell did acknowledge in an interview with Andy Cohen in November that they were aware of what was being said. The Stand By Me star told Cohen: 

It seems that Rebecca Romijn was at least curious to know what John Stamos would have to say about her, particularly — as Jerry O’Connell pointed out in that interview — because their twin daughters are 14 years old and it was “awkward” to have them ask why her ex was calling her “the devil.”

Even now that Rebecca Romijn has shared her reaction to what was said about her in If You Would Have Told Me, it doesn’t sound like any confirmation or denial about John Stamos’ accusations is forthcoming. In January 2022, many of us were met with the tragic news that Bob Saget had died at the age of 65 due to head trauma he sustained. The comedian was widely mourned by fans as well as fellow celebrities across Hollywood. Aside from his family, those who seemed to take his passing particularly hard were his co-stars from Full House. Many of them, including John Stamos and Candace Cameron Bure, have honored Saget in the time since he departed this life. Most recently though, Bure, Stamos and a few others got together to pay tribute to the late comedian on the two-year anniversary of his death.

It’s honestly hard to believe that the late star has already been gone for so long. His longtime friends and colleagues from the hit ABC sitcom and its Netflix sequel series still seem to be processing it as well. Jesse Katsopolis actor John Stamos released a joint message alongside Joey Gladstone portrayer Dave Coulier on Instagram. The post included a video clip of the two actors discussing their late co-star alongside fellow castmates Jodie Sweetin, Candace Cameron Bure and Andrea Barber. Stamos, while speaking, admitted that he’s “not sure” how to feel as he begins to adjust to his buddy’s absence. That was the kind of sentiment that was conveyed in the caption: 

As emotional as those thoughts are, the conversation amongst the cast members (who assembled virtually) was even more moving. Jodie Sweetin opened up about sometimes feeling that she still sees her on-screen dad out of the corner of her eye. Dave Coulier and Andrea Barber discussed their fun phone correspondences with the Danny Tanner actor, which included long-winded songs and humorously neurotic calls. Candace Cameron Bure shed tears after her TV uncle revealed a clip from her wedding day. While Bure misses her mentor, she mentioned that she takes solace in being able to grieve alongside others. This cast has always seemed close, and it’s moments like these that further drive home that point. If you ask some of them, they would argue that their bond was maintained by Bob Saget. Stamos referred to him as “the glue” that held their ensemble of actors together through thick and thin. To that point, during this latest meet-up, Dave Coulier sweetly mentioned that Saget “gave” them the tender moment they were having together. That’s a lovely sentiment if there ever was one.

The tight-knit group has also remained close with the America's Funniest Home Videos alum’s family, including his widow, Kelly Rizzo, and three daughters from his previous marriage to Sherri Kramer. Shortly after the stand-up comedy veteran’s death, Rizzo thanked fans for helping her cope with the grief. She and John Stamos also appeared at an awards ceremony, where they accepted an honor on the star’s behalf. 

It would be a gross understatement to say that there’s a serious void not just in the world of comedy but in society as a whole now that Bob Saget is no longer with us. What’s comforting, though, is that his memory will live on, and that’s not just because of his exceptional work. As long as John Stamos, Candace Cameron Bure and more continue to remember him in sweet ways, he won’t be forgotten.

In the history of television there have been a number of series which have brought joy and laughs to millions of people for years on end, and the hit ‘90s family sitcom Full House is definitely counted among that number. That show was so popular that the cast reunited for Fuller House nearly 30 years later, which continued the story of the Tanner and Gibbler clans for those with a Netflix subscription and wrapped its five-season run in 2020. It’s no secret that stars like John Stamos, Jodie Sweetin and Andrea Barber kept in touch over the years and like to reminisce, but now they’ve opened up about getting death threats during the original show.

What Did John Stamos And Jodie Sweetin Say About Getting Death Threats During Full House?

Considering how close the Full House cast has been over the decades, I never would have guessed that there was any real strife behind the scenes or danger to be endured for the actors. However, John Stamos recently revealed that he “pissed off” Bob Saget in the early days, and now he and Jodie Sweetin have talked about getting death threats during the show. Stamos sat down with Sweetin and Andrea Barber for their podcast, How Rude, Tanneritos!, and eventually asked the duo if they remember him getting death threats, to which Barber replied:

Well, if anything, that sounds like classic Bob Saget, doesn’t it? Obviously, this was a very tense time for Stamos, who was no stranger to the intense attention that can come from stardom because of his time on General Hospital in the early ‘80s. I don’t know if he was able to laugh at his co-star’s joke at the time, but he certainly had a good giggle about it while looking back on the incident. Stamos continued, explaining:

Can you even imagine? Thank goodness the Uncle Jesse actor wasn’t around and the woman who spoke to his would-be attacker knew how to respond. Apparently, the next step was to alert the production, and Stamos said that he was called into the “Willy Wonka” like office of executive producers Thomas L. Miller and Robert L. Boyett for them to explain the situation, which sounds like it was a bit of a surreal experience, considering they called him “John John” and had “candy everywhere” and “weird little dogs” littering the space.

While Sweetin herself recently admitted to probably being “annoying” to co-star Candace Cameron Bure in the early years of the comedy, she also has an unfortunate death threat story, which she relayed to her co-stars:

Ugh…I remember watching other kids on TV when I was young myself and thinking they must be having so much fun. Of course it never occurred to me that you could be a child on a sitcom with a classic TV catchphrase and end up getting death threats! Barber also explained that the young girls on the show frequently got “letters from men in prison asking for specific photos of us as children.” It clearly doesn’t get more gross or scary than that.

Luckily, no harm came to any of the cast, and they were all (minus those pesky Olsen twins, who did make up for turning down an appearance when they attended Saget’s funeral) able to safely bring fans a much beloved reunion.

It's hard to believe Entourage ended its eight-season run so long ago, in 2011 (not counting the less-than-well-recieved movie in 2015). For the length of the show, one thing that kept audiences coming back for more each week was the great celebrity cameos. What started as a trickle in the first season, became a flood towards the end, with big stars always showing up, usually with hilarious results. Here is our list of some of the funniest celebrity cameos on Entourage. 

Mark Wahlberg

It makes sense that Mark Wahlberg would be the first cameo on the show, appearing in the very first episode of Season 1. Entourage was (very) loosely based on his experiences in Hollywood as a young actor, and the Boogie Nights star was a producer of the show. 

David Schwimmer

A great thing about the cameos was that often the celebrities weren't afraid to poke a little fun at themselves. Take, for example, David Schwimmer's spot in the Season 6 episode "Running on E." Schwimmer sits in a pitch meeting with super agent Ari Gold's (Jeremy Piven) team and offer after offer is for the Friends star to play some sort of neurotic character for comedic effect. The frustration for Schwimmer is palpable. 

Peter Dinklage

One of the most common tropes on the show was the stars taking potshots at Ari. Ari was a character we all loved to hate, but it turns out most of the celebrities playing themselves also hated Ari. Peter Dinklage is one of those when he trades barbs with Ari at a party in the Season 2 "Sundance Kids."

John Stamos

John Stamos was the perfect type of celeb to show on Entourage. It was always fun to see how a cameo appearance might just be an opportunity to take down lovable loser Johnny Drama (Kevin Dillon). In a bit of a twist, after getting insulted by Stamos a few times, the two play an epic match of ping pong that ends predicably for Drama in the Season 7 episode "Tequila Sunrise." 

Jeffrey Tambor

Jeffrey Tambor plays a jerk like few others can in Hollywood. When he's playing a fictionalized version of himself being to jerk to his kids, it's comedy gold. Fictional life as a jerk and real life have blurred together for Tambor, but his appearance in Season 6 is still really funny. 

Matt Damon

Matt Damon takes charity very seriously, so his cameo on Entourage, in the Season 6 finale, fits perfectly. It's also a rare time that Vince (Adrian Grenier) is the one getting clowned when he tries to dodge both Damon and Bono into giving money to their charity to help children.  

Val Kilmer

Val Kilmer's guest spot on the show is a little different than most on this list. He doesn't play himself, but the role is so brief – and so funny – that it had to be included. In Season 1, the Top Gun: Maverick star plays a "sherpa" living in a giant house in Beverly Hills like a '60s hippie. 

Snoop Dogg

No one brings joy like Snoop Dogg. There is never a time when people are unhappy to see the legendary rapper show up somewhere on TV and Entourage is no exception. The brief interaction between Snoop, Vince, and Eric (Kevin Connolly), partly highlights the confusion of how to pronounce "Cannes" in the Season 4 episode "The Dream Team."

James Cameron

The Season 2 episode "Sundance Kids" really kicked the cameos on the show into overdrive and one of the best of the whole series is James Cameron. Vince is trying to land a role in his Aquaman movie, so Turtle and Drama try to help (and fail). The best part, though, is Cameron's interaction with a barista (played by This Is Us star Chrissy Metz). 

Tom Brady

Turtle (Jerry Ferrara) is a die-hard New York Giants fan, so when he meets Tom Brady at a charity golf tournament, he does what any self-respecting fan would do, he blows him off and refuses to shake his hand. It's brilliant. 

Martin Scorsese

Entourage proved just how big it was for celeb cameos when none other than Martin Scorsese appeared for a brief scene to offer Vince a role in his fictional The Great Gatsby movie in the finale of Season 5. You know you've made it when Scorsese gets involved. 

Scarlett Johansson

Season 1 ends with a big-time star appearance when the one and only Scarlett Johansson cameos on the phone with Vince, after Eric promises him to land a date with the superstar actress. It works, though it's the last time we'd see Johansson on the show. 

Stan Lee

Comic legend Stan Lee became the king of cameos with his iconic moments in the MCU universe for years, a streak that ended with his death in 2018. It's all too appropriate that we include him on this list, not only due to Lee's status as a cameo-king but because his quick role is just so funny as he can't quite place where he's seen Vince's adult film star girlfriend, Sasha Grey, before.

Lamar Odom

Entourage was replete with professional athletes throughout its run. Lamar Odom shows up pretty early in the show's run, in "An Offer Refused" in Season 2. The cameo is notable because of the way Drama gets obsessed with how men's calves look, including Odom's, which understandably freaks the NBA star out. 

Bono

Bono's appearance in the Season 6 finale is brilliant. He only appears via computer screen, as he's on a video call with Matt Damon and teams up with Damon to gang up on Vince to guilt him into getting on board with their charity. It's vintage Bono, pushing a charity but not taking himself as seriously as the world perceives him to be. 

Bobby Flay

Ari being a jerk to someone isn't a surprise, but Ari being a jerk to Bobby Flay is, pardon the pun, pure gold. Flay is great playing himself as the chef at his own restaurant, one of Ari's favorites, but the two bicker before Flay has had enough in the Season 8 episode "Whiz Kid." 

Sofia Vergara

Sofia Vergara's cameo is notable because she's not playing herself. While she herself is perfect for the role as a Colombian actress auditioning for the movie Medellin, it's funny because of how ridiculous the rest of Vince's team reacts to her. The first episode of Season 2 is one of the most unique, and funniest, of the show's run. 

M. Night Shyamalan

M. Night Shyamalan's appearance in the episode "Sorry, Harvey" in Season 4 is classic Entourage. Playing himself, he's angry at Ari for not reading his latest script and confronts the super agent to call him on it. It's the kind of cameo we've come to expect from this show, a major star fighting with Ari. 

Christina Aguilera

The Season 7 finale, "Lose Yourself" is one of the saddest of the show, for a few reasons. One is Ari throwing a lavish party for his wife to keep her from leaving him complete with Christina Aguilera singing "You Are Beautiful," only to have his wife not show.  Aguilera gets mad at Ari (naturally) and demands his Lakers playoffs tickets to keep performing. 

Adrian Peterson

NFL superstar Adrian Peterson selling a dinosaur skull. Is there anything more that needs to be said? The Season 7 episode "Tequila and Coke" has a great moment poking fun at people investing in fossils, and yes, Nic Cage gets a shout-out. 

Zac Efron

It's no surprise that Ari would be trying to steal a client from another agent, but what makes Zac Efron's cameo on Entourage so funny is his interaction with a fan while on the phone with Ari. A mom using her daughter to get Efron's autograph (and pushing for, um, more) is hilarious. 

Kanye West

Vince and his crew have no problem asking anyone for a favor. Kanye West is the victim of one of the most outlandish requests when they beg him for a ride on his private plane to France, even though Ye is headed for London in "No Cannes Do" from Season 4. The rapper is stunned and doesn't hide it, but still, who can turn down Vince? No one, not even Ye.

David Spade

David Spade is the perfect star for a cameo on Entourage. In his, he's got women on both arms and plays a total jerk. While he's surely not a jerk, he somehow has that public perception, which is what makes the cameo so much fun in the Season 8 episode titled "The Big Bang." Spade is just hilarious. 

Phil Mickelson

Phil Mickelson is clearly a good sport. Despite the show taking a shot at the pro golfer's failure at the 2006 U.S. Open, he later agreed to appear on the show, if only to show up Ari. A chance meeting on the golf course between Mickelson, and Kevin Dillon and Jerry Ferrara, led to the role. Kizmet. 

50 Cent

50 Cent makes one of the briefest cameos on the show, but it's one of the best. When he sees Turtle driving, he pulls up alongside and manages to take Turtle down a notch, despite the fancy ride he's driving in. Turtle has a rough time in his birthday episode, "One Car, Two Car, Red Car, Blue Car," from Season 6.

Aaron Sorkin

Aaron Sorkin's first cameo (he made two) on Entourage came in an episode named after him, "The Sorkin Notes" in Season 6. Sorkin is caught up in some drama in Ari's office that he wants no part of and is hilarious in a rare acting role for the writer and director. Now can we get that West Wing revival starring Sterling K. Brown that Sorkin had an idea for, please?

Dean Cain

Another very brief cameo comes from Dean Cain. The former Superman actor disrupts one of Drama's auditions, which crushes Drama, as he figures there's no one he can compete with Cain for the part. It's vintage Johnny Drama in the Season 6 episode "Scared Straight." It's another moment in which you can't help but feel terrible for Drama. 

Eminem

The Season 7 finale, "Lose Yourself," not only foreshadows Vince's downward spiral, but Eminem's cameo. In one of the lowest moments of Vince's life, he first insults Minka Kelly, then gets into a fistfight with Eminem. It's as sad as it is funny, a line the show walked brilliantly in the episode. 

Alex Rodriguez

How tragic would be to hear that you lost out on a ton of money from former Yankee Alex Rodriguez? That's what happens to Turtle when the shortstop-turned-third-baseman shows up on screen to tell Turtle that the tequila company he once owned a lot of stock in went public after he sold out. Ouch. 

Steve Nash

Poor Steve Nash. The NBA star was at the height of his fame when he was unwittingly cornered by Eric at his manager's office (Scott Caan). Eric dumps all of his girlfriend problems on the Canadian basketball player's feet in the Season 6 episode "Murphy's Lie," and all Nash can do is look stunned. 

Johnny Galecki

Johnny Galecki's role in Entourage was a little more than one cameo, it was more like three cameos over three episodes and he plays a fictionalized version of himself who makes Eric's life hell by dating Eric's ex-girlfriend Sloan (Emmanuelle Chriqui). This version of Galecki is terrible but completely hilarious. 

Jessica Simpson

As Ari tries to protect his client base, he's forced to go hat in hand to a client who's mad at him for not caring when her dog died. Jessica Simpson meets Ari at the door in "Bottoms Up" from Season 7, and in classic Entourage fashion, makes Ari look like the jerk that he is, despite his insincere attempt to gift another dog to Simpson. It sums up everything a great Entourage cameo should be. A big star, an unrepentant Ari, and some choice lines. 

This is a list that could be almost endless, and we didn't even get into the multiple cameos in the Entourage movie, one of which featured Channing Tatum that didn't actually happen. 

Full House has been bringing the laughs since the late ‘80s and is one of the best shows streaming on Max. Even today, the sitcom is beloved by many. From having many fan-favorite TGIF characters to plenty of classic catchphrases, it’s clear that Full House is arguably one of the best sitcoms ever. While it’s hard to picture the series with any other hilarious cast members, there was one point when John Stamos thought Dave Coulier couldn’t cut it as Joey Gladstone.

Stamos was a guest on Coulier’s rewatch podcast, Full House Rewind, where the friends and former co-stars discussed all things Full House, among many other topics. The duo talked about the early days of the ABC comedy, and Stamos admitted he didn’t think Coulier was funny enough:

Considering Joey Gladstone was a comedian, it would be hard to play him and not be funny, which was certainly not the case for Dave Coulier, even if John Stamos thought so. Luckily, it sounds like creator Jeff Franklin was adamant about Coulier’s talents. It’s a good thing, too, because after seeing what he could really do, Stamos was definitely convinced that Coulier was funny:

Stamos likely just had to see Coulier in his element to know that he was truly hilarious. Getting that kind of praise all those years later, and the fact that he still remembers exactly how he felt when he saw Coulier doing his thing, is perhaps some of the highest praise the actor could receive. At least from a friend. Not to mention the fact that Uncle Jesse and Joey went on to become not only friends but partners in the jingle business, and I really can’t imagine anyone else in either role.

The General Hospital alum also mentioned that he and Coulier “immediately had chemistry,” and they got up to shenanigans that the writers played off of for the series. So, it’s not surprising to hear just how quickly Stamos changed his mind about Coulier’s comedy. The two are definitely one of the best parts about Full House because they worked so well together, and the fact that they hit it off off-camera as well likely helped a lot.

Their first meeting was not the only topic that was discussed when they got together for Full House Rewind. Stamos recalled working with Bob Saget on Full House, and he once again opened up about the show’s early days, which weren’t always easy. The series did manage to run for eight seasons, and it got a reboot on Netflix years later, which shows that they did something right, and the comedic talent and chemistry among the cast has a lot to do with it. 

While the Full House cast may not be as close as they once used to be, especially considering Candace Cameron Bure and Jodie Sweetin’s complex relationship, the chemistry will always be there. Fans can see that chemistry (and comedy) easily because all eight seasons are available with a Max subscription.

The holiday season just got a whole lot merrier, thanks to Glen Powell and his festive family antics. The Top Gun: Maverick actor recently took to the streets of New York City with his loved ones, turning the concrete jungle into a winter wonderland by donning iconic Buddy the Elf costumes. The 10 Days veteran shared the whimsical escapade on his Instagram video post, which you can see below, bound to make your heart grow three sizes from all the Buddy-inspired antics. The Elf escapade didn't go unnoticed by his celebrity peers, who took to social media to express their delight and amusement with some A+ comments. 

Powell Family Elf Antics Take Over NYC

Getting into the festive groove and cleverly promoting his new romantic comedy, the 35-year-old actor and his family fully embraced the Christmas spirit. In the video, which you can see embedded below, they don matching costumes inspired by the lovable character Budd, played by Will Ferrell. They added a unique touch to their holiday celebrations. Powell shared a video on his Instagram on Wednesday, stating, "We're here in New York City for Anyone, But You, and my family celebrates Christmas a little differently," The video, which you can see below, smoothly transitions to a lively montage featuring the group joyfully recreating scenes from the cherished 2003 holiday classic.

Isn't that adorable? Not even the Grinch himself could watch this video without smiling.

Glen is no stranger to bringing a touch of Elf magic into his life. While romance rumors between the two have been debunked, the dynamic duo of him and Sydney went all out to promote their film. The Everybody Wants Some star donned elfin attire while Sweeney dazzled in a stunning red dress. In a recent Instagram carousel shared by Sweeney, the co-stars added a heartwarming touch to the season as they spread Christmas cheer while seated on Santa's lap. While it’s been almost 30 years since Full House concluded, the beloved TGIF series is still watched by many. The cast of the show, meanwhile, have mostly remained close and love looking back at the work they did together. They may seem like a mostly tight unit now, but that wasn't always the case. John Stamos has been vocal about how he and late co-star Bob Saget didn't see eye to eye in the early days. The actor recently shared more thoughts on that while also explaining why Saget was frustrated during early portion of the sitcom's run.

John Stamos previously opened up about how he managed to "piss off" Bob Saget early on. He shared that as a way of getting meatier material, he cultivated the close relationship between his character, Uncle Jesse, and his little niece, Michelle, which Saget did not like. That contributed to the friction between the two, and Stamos summed up how Saget was at the time with the following sentiments he shared on Dave Coulier's Full House Rewind:

It’s hard to imagine the two not getting along, considering how close they grew over the years. However, that tracks with their on-screen relationships. At first, Uncle Jesse Katsopolis was just the brother-in-law who moved into the Tanner household, after the death of his sister, help raise his nieces with Danny and his friend, Joey Gladstone. Jesse and Danny would sometimes be odds due to the former's unconventional methods of child-rearing. 

As time went on, Jesse struck up a friendship with Joey, played by Dave Coulier. The writers took notice of the chemistry between Coulier and Stamos, which benefited them. All the while, though, Bob Saget apparently received the short end of the stick:

Of course, John Stamos and Bob Saget grew close over the years and became like brothers. Stamos previously shared that Saget was the glue and that the cast's dynamic hasn't been the same since his death. During the sitcom's run, Saget began to receive more of the spotlight on the show. As John Stamos went on to point out, his old buddy always loved to get laughs -- would do what he felt was necessary to get them:

Bob Saget is greatly missed, but it's been wonderful hearing his co-stars share interesting anecdotes like this since his passing. John Stamos, in particular, has been sharing memories of him in recent months and even included stories about him and their Full House days in his new memoir. The Grandfathered alum also shared a sweet moment he experienced the night Saget died. While it's still hard to fathom that Saget is no longer with us, I'm thankful for his memory and that he was able to push through the early issues he had on the show to become one of the best TV dads ever.

It’s been nearly two years since Bob Saget died, and in that time no one has been more outspoken about keeping the comedian’s memory alive than John Stamos, sharing stories about his friend, including the last day he spent with him at Disneyland and even how he asked for a sign that Bob was OK the night he died. But the actors who played brothers-in-law on Full House and its spinoff Fuller House didn’t exactly start out on the right foot, and Stamos recalled what he did that pissed off the comedian in the sitcom's early days.

John Stamos had been acting for years on General Hospital and You Again? when he landed the role of Uncle Jesse on Full House in 1987. Bob Saget, meanwhile, was better known for his raunchy standup comedy, and their styles on the set of the family friendly ABC series clashed in a major way. Stamos opened up to his former co-stars Jodie Sweetin and Andrea Barber in an interview on the How Rude, Tanneritos! podcast about settling into his character, and how his choices upset the Tanner family patriarch. The actor explained: 

John Stamos has admitted to being nervous about Full House when he realized how much much the plot centered around DJ (Candace Cameron Bure), Stephanie (Jodie Sweetin) and Michelle (Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen), and apparently it angered Bob Saget that Stamos made moves to protect his relevance on the show. He went on to explain how to the two actors just approached the job differently, saying: 

One can see how John Stamos might have been annoyed with Bob Saget’s more casual approach to their livelihood, but thankfully the two came to understand each other with time, and in true Danny Tanner fashion, Saget became “the glue” that held the Full House family together.

John Stamos has proven that he’s not afraid to talk about some of the behind-the-scenes dynamics from his career-defining role, even when it comes to his frustrations. He’s confirmed that he got the Olsen twins temporarily fired when they were 11 months old, and decades later he admitted to being angry that Ashley and Mary-Kate didn’t return for Fuller House.

Full House star John Stamos endured his own embarrassing moment when he appeared in a Season 9 episode, and he recalled how Matthew Perry totally saved him. 

John Stamos Was ‘Heartbroken’ Over Audience Reaction To His Friends Appearance 

The man otherwise known as Uncle Jesse from Full House guest-starred in the 2003 episode, “The One with the Donor,” in which John Stamos played the titular donor, Zack. Monica (Courteney Cox) and Chandler (Matthew Perry) were interviewing Zack (unbeknownst to him) to be a possible sperm donor, as the couple were experiencing problems conceiving on their own. In a 2021 interview with Access Hollywood, Stamos recalled not getting the reception he expected from the live studio audience. He said: 

What a blow to the ego. Going in front of a live audience was already a terrifying experience for many Friends guest stars, but then to be told to hold for applause that never comes must have been a shock. It sounds like the Friends actors themselves were just as stunned, especially given how Matthew Perry acted afterward. 

Matthew Perry Ensured John Stamos Got The Recognition He Deserved 

In a tribute to Matthew Perry following his death in October at age 54, John Stamos recalled that same story from his Friends experience, writing on Instagram about standing backstage and having the Chandler actor tell him the audience was about to go crazy, so “get ready for some loud screams,” before he walked out to silence. However, he went on to say that Perry ensured Stamos got the recognition they'd all expected, writing: 

What a sweet move by Matthew Perry, to not only lead the audience in recognizing the guest star, but to justify their initial lack of enthusiasm by blaming it on John Stamos’ good looks. Who ever said flattery won’t get you anywhere? Several celebrities have paid tribute to Perry since he was found dead of a suspected drowning in his jacuzzi, including his Friends co-stars, who released a touching message before later memorializing him on their individual social media accounts.

John Stamos’ new memoir, If You Would Have Told Me, includes some very candid sentiments about his career, specifically, his days on Full House, on which he played Uncle Jesse. As he recalled his time on the beloved TGIF series and how he was nervous about the show’s future at one point, he also got candid about his late friend and co-star, Bob Saget, who passed away in 2022. Now, co-star Candace Cameron Bure is getting candid about her own feelings about the memoir and what it was like looking back at her Full House days with Saget. 

To say that there are a lot of stories in John Stamos’ book would be an understatement. So the notion of even one of his closest co-stars not knowing about all of his experiences isn't far-fetched. Candace Cameron Bure told Us Weekly that there were many tales she had “never heard” before and that she “cried like a baby” while hearing Stamos' recollections of her on-screen dad:

It sounds like it was very cathartic for her to hear those stories. A person doesn't always get closure when losing someone they love, and it seems she appreciates the fact that her co-star was able to get that. All in all, fans of Full House are sure to relish this book more than others given the subject matter. While summing up the text, Candace Cameron Bure shared even more sweet thoughts:

Even at 47, the GAF star still looks back at the beloved show with pride, and you can't help but love that. One would think that it might be a little surreal for her to hear her friend and colleague share those stories. But then again, it sounds like there's a level of comfort that's generated from that. Despite a reported fallout between her and Jodie Sweetin, most of the cast are still as close as ever, which is a true testament to the tight bonds the group forged while working together.

Overall, it seems like John Stamos poured a lot of heart and soul into the memoir, in which he also discusses his personal life, including the time he was sexually abused by his babysitter when he was younger. It can't be easy recalling a traumatic experience like that, but I'm glad he was able to open up about those painful memories as well as the brighter ones involving Bob Saget and more.

Full House's 36th anniversary just passed, and Candace Cameron Bure’s feelings about the series don't seem to have changed. I'd love to see another spinoff happen so that she, John Stamos and their castmates can make more memories and honor Bob Saget while doing so. Every few years a celebrity memoir comes out, and the internet explodes– especially when it’s a tell-all. We can see this nowadays with both Britney Spears and John Stamos, who released books about their lives and careers. The Full House actor’s included details about his time on the show, as well as his former marriage. And Jerry O’Connell recently explained why he won’t clap back after Stamos’ book painted Rebecca Romijn in a bad light.

John Stamos and Rebecca Romijn were a hot celebrity couple back in the day, and were married for a number of years before splitting in 2005. The Scream Queens actor doesn’t hold much about their time together in his book If You Would Have Told Me: A Memoir, making headlines for calling her a “devil.” O’Connell addressed this briefly in a video posted by The Talk, offering:

O’Connell’s comments on his show The Talk came as he and his co-host discussed how Adam Driver threw an F-bomb at a critic for his new movie Ferrari. The Stand by Me actor maintains that the better move is to not respond in such a way, especially when you’re an A–list movie star like Driver. Case in point: his lack of public pettiness in relation to John Stamos’ tell-all memoir.

While he addressed his marriage to Rebecca Romijn, Stamos also revealed how he met his wife on the set of Law and Order. He’s also candid in the memoir about initial nerves about Full House, and Stamos even shared he was sexually abused  by a babysitter as a kid.

Rebecca Romijn and Jerry O’Connell have been together for years, and are a power couple that plenty of fans love. The public is delighted when Romijn posted photos of O’Connell online, offering a glimpse of their life together. When Bob Saget passed away suddenly in 2022, people around the world were equally saddened and shocked. That was true more than ever for those closest to him, who grieved the loss of a great friend and comedian. And we are now learning that John Stamos had an especially tender and powerful experience the night his Full House colleague passed away. At the time, Stamos went looking for a sign that his was okay and ultimately saw something that brought him comfort. 

The star recently appeared on an episode of The Jennifer Hudson Show and, during the show, the noted EGOT winner and the Scream Queens alum bonded over a surprising commonality. Hudson told her guest that when she sees hummingbirds, it makes her feel like her family members who've since passed away are with her. The Fuller House star then shared a story about why he feels the same way: 

Certainly, many of us have our ways of remembering those who have since departed this life. Some people think of those people on special occasions, while certain objects might even evoke memories of the deceased. You can't help but love that the Grandfathered actor has linked those he loved to the beautiful birds.

John Stamos’ connection to hummingbirds doesn’t end with his family, though. He said that he is still struggling with the loss of longtime friend Bob Saget, who was apparently the "glue" that held the Full House cast together. But he revealed that a special moment shortly after his death helped him feel closer to the late comedian – and it, too, involved a hummingbird:

The beloved sitcom actor recently sat down with Willie Geist on Sunday TODAY to discuss his new memoir If You Would Have Told Me, as well as his time on the family sitcom. In a candid moment, Stamos opened up about what it was like starring on a hit show that critics were vocally disinterested in by and large. Stamos told Geist: 

Even if I didn't get a Full House tattoo to prove it, I'm a Tanner family fan through and through, and I’m so grateful that Stamos didn’t give in to letting the critics' negative opinions affect his role and time in the series. I dare say the show would have been nothing without Uncle Jesse. Stamos himself claims that Bob Saget’s Danny Tanner "was the glue" that kept the TV family together behind, but Uncle Jesse was the true heart of the series in my mind. 

Besides, critics aren’t always tapped into what audiences are in need of. Not everything needs to be sophisticated and/or thought-provoking. Sometimes, TV audiences just want to sit down with characters they love and forget their own problems for a few hours out of the day. That’s exactly what Full House gave to its fans, which is a big reason why it continues to be culturally relevant even today. 

As Stamos said, the Tanners really did become everybody’s family in a way so many other sitcom families often do. I religiously watched Full House reruns when it aired as part of Nick at Nite’s programming, and I can still recall my favorite episodes word for word. Sure, the series was never nominated for an Emmy Award, but critical acclaim can only take a show so far. The longevity lies in the fans’ minds, and since the TGIF classic continues to draw in viewers from around the world, it will continue to live on.

Despite being one of the more outspoken cast members in the current day, Stamos wasn’t always thrilled about his role. In fact, he recently opened up about how nervous he was filming the pilot, especially with two babies on set! Thankfully, just like the critics were wrong, so were Stamos's nerves. Though the cast has had some ups and downs in recent years, including a highly publicized feud between Candace Cameron Bure and Jodie Sweetin, it seems like nothing can tarnish Stamos's time on the sitcom. And for that, I am grateful!

Stamos revealed the wild story behind meeting his wife on Law and Order: Special Victims Unit, of all shows!

How Law And Order: SVU Brought The Couple Together

John Stamos opened up about the tricky and bizarre situation on The Jess Cagle Show. The radio show recalled Stamos appearing in the infamous Law and Order: SVU Season 12 episode “Bang.” Caitlin McHugh also had a small but crucial role in the story. As it turns out, Stamos and his future wife enjoyed a “long texting relationship and friendship” before they became romantic. 

At the time, McHugh was engaged to someone else, to which the actor responded, "‘Don't get married.’" He jokingly called himself “an asshole” for telling his future wife to dump her then-fiancé. However, their meeting took place under one of the NBC drama’s most bizarre storylines, so is it any surprise that how they got together was unconventional? The TV icon gave the gist of his ripped-from-the-headlines SVU plot, saying:

Talk about meeting your significant other in an awkward scenario! Stamos played attorney playboy and reproductive abuser Ken Turner in the infamous episode with McHugh playing a potential victim.  Not only was he playing a serial impregnator in a top-rated TV series, but McHugh was already engaged to another man.

Things Worked In John Stamos’ Favor

John Stamos played the long game as he and Caitlin McHugh remained friends after filming the iconic Law and Order: SVU episode in 2011. Eventually, things worked out as the actress’s engagement ended, and the duo began dating in 2016. They got engaged in 2017 after dating for a year until Stamos and McHugh married in 2018. Stamos jokingly connected the episode’s storyline to their eventual parenthood. He stated:  

As odd as the connection is, the Big Shot star wasn’t wrong about the trajectory. Stamos's announcement that his wife was pregnant was touching back in 2017. Of course, his son Billy might not know the complete story of his parents’ meet-cute, but he has become a massive Full House fan. 

Maybe when he is older, his parents will let him see the episode and tell the story, but he's not quite SVU age just yet. However, they can share how a mix-up by his dad allowed Bob Saget’s presence to be felt at Jodie Sweetin’s wedding. (Saget also starred in an episode of Law & Order: SVU.)

And while that was sweet enough, it was Jodie Sweetin’s response that really had me in my feels.

It was probably a given that other members of the cast were going to share thoughts. Joey Gladstone actor Dave Coulier chimed in with a sweet response, expressing his love for his found family and commending his co-star on his new book. But again, Jodie Sweetin’s comment really took the cake and probably aligned with the feelings that fans had when they saw the post: 

How can you not love seeing so much affection shown between these stars? Collectively, the footage and the cast responses to it are bittersweet, especially considering that series star Bob Saget is no longer with us. John Stamos recently described Saget as “the glue” that held the cast together and, at this point, it’s starting to look like Stamos is succeeding him in that position. 

Bob Saget is only one of the topics that John Stamos opens up about in his book, which is incredibly raw. Among the topics he discusses in it (as well as during interviews) are the sexual abuse he experienced at his babysitter’s hand and his battles with alcohol, which Fuller House helped save him from. As you can see based on their messages, Jodie Sweetin, Dave Coulier and more are totally supportive of him, and it makes my heart proud to see how these actors continue to lean on each other.

Full House star John Stamos has been consistently making headlines lately tied to the release of his new memoir If You Would Have Told Me, which hit bookshelves a week ahead of Halloween’s arrival. The actor did have some scary topics to discuss when chatting with Howard Stern, by way of his bouts with alcoholism, but it wasn’t all cautionary tales. The Grandfathered vet also revealed the big way Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen shared their love and appreciation for Full House in the years after they’d rejected offers to reprise the role of Michelle Tanner for Netflix’s Fuller House. 

For the most part, Stamos is the Full House vet who’d most often shared feelings about the Olsen twins choosing to remain out of the TV spotlight throughout Fuller House’s five-season run. During his latest appearance on The Howard Stern Show, the actor addressed the fact that his initially angry reaction didn’t help the matter (even though his comments did spark the siblings to present him with a porkchop of solidarity). But he also said Mary-Kate and Ashley smoothed things over with their former cast members while at Bob Saget’s funeral, and in a way that was quite meaningful to Stamos and others. In his words:

For all that the Fuller House stars were genial and polite about the Tanner family never fully coming together again without Michelle around, it's not out of the question to think that some of the stars even beyond Stamos might have felt miffed by it. But hopefully by sharing such loving words at Bob Saget's funeral, the twins put others' minds at ease and convinced them it wasn't a personal dig. 

To be sure, John Stamos definitely came around to understanding why Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen chose not to step back into the role of Michelle Tanner now as full-grown adults with hugely successful business ventures to their names. Co-star Jodie Sweetin arguably explained it best by pointing out that Full House was over before the Olsens hit double-digit ages, and so their time on the sitcom wasn't as formative an experience as it was for the rest of the cast, as they wouldn't have had nearly as many memories about the earliest seasons. 

Of course, Dave Coulier's tale about farting in his kid co-star's faces could have also played a part in why some of those memories may have been repressed. Someone check and see if they had any "no-farts clauses" in their contracts. 

Bob Saget's death in early 2022 was a huge blow to the comedic actor's fanbase, as well as to the fellow cast members that had become his makeshift family in the years since Full House came together. And it marked one of the first times that Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen spoke publicly about their TV dad, albeit in the form of a prepared statement.

While the Olsen sisters never opted in for more Tanner family fun, the show did drops some references to them throughout the years, including that final straight-to-camera joke in the penultimate episode. John Stamos is a beloved sitcom star circa 2023 for his role as Jesse Katsopolis – better known as Uncle Jesse – on Full House and later Fuller House. Once upon a time, however, he was a big name in soap operas as a star of General Hospital for more than 100 episodes, and he wasn't too confident about being part of Full House's family hijinks when filming the pilot. 

He opened up about his very early days as Uncle Jesse in his new memoir, called If You Would Have Told Me. The 60-year-old actor discovered while filming the pilot back in 1987 that the live studio audience was loving the young actors playing the Tanner girls more than his own character. Stamos wrote (via Us Weekly): 

Webster and Diff'rent Strokes were both big comedy hits, with the former running for six seasons and the latter running for eight. But those shows also aren't exactly remembered most for the parental figures, and John Stamos could imagine Uncle Jesse fading into the background once D.J. (Candace Cameron Bure), Stephanie (Jodie Sweetin), and Michelle (Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen) started to grow up. 

He also wasn't wrong about the kids getting catchphrases, with "Oh Mylanta!" for D.J., "How rude!" for Stephanie (which was recently immortalized in tattoo form by one fan), and "You got it, dude!" for Michelle. Of course, Uncle Jesse was also known for "Have mercy!" in the show, so Stamos got a catchphrase of his own as well! Looking back in his book, Stamos also admitted that the very young Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen weren't making his job any easier early on in Full House, even giving an example:

Stamos also noted a scene with him and Dave Coulier – a.k.a. Joey – trying to act a scene of changing Michelle's diaper, and struggling to deliver his lines while Mary-Kate or Ashley was "wailing." In a very un-Uncle Jesse move, Stamos demanded that creator Jeff Franklin (who had to leave the Fuller House spinoff following disturbing allegations) recast the Olsen twins. While he did get them temporarily fired, he ultimately wanted Mary-Kate and Ashley back, and the Uncle Jesse/Michelle relationship went on to be one of the most endearing of the series.

The sisters did not return to play Michelle for the Fuller House series that brought most of the original cast back to their iconic roles, and Stamos has shared that he was previously angry about their decision. More recently, he shared some sweet throwback footage of the Olsen twins to congratulate Ashley on the birth of her son. The Uncle Jesse actor certainly has come a long way from when their on-set screaming left him wanting to cast a new set of babies!

And luckily, Stamos ultimately didn't leave Full House despite some rough days early on, and Uncle Jesse has become a beloved figure in sitcom history. He's also the character who Stamos has played the longest, as the actor is credited with 193 episodes of the original series and 17 episodes of Fuller House. For so many years, the bulk of the actors at the heart of the beloved sitcoms Full House and Fuller House appeared to be just as close and familial as the Tanners. (And the Gibblers, if we must.) But the cast members’ dynamics appeared to change somewhat in the months that followed Bob Saget’s death in January 2022, with reported feuding between co-stars Candace Cameron-Bure and Jodie Sweetin. John Stamos, who’s previously voiced his dismay over the in-fighting amongst the former co-stars, has reflected on life after Bob, as it were, and thinks that the fictional patriarch would have already brought a halt to background drama. 

Speaking with People in connection with his new memoir If You Would Have Told Me, Stamos talked about the Full House cast’s extended bond that has stayed mostly strong and intact for the past 35 years or so. And while he said some of them are “just as close” as ever, he seemed to be implying that there are more under-the-radar issues than fans are aware of. Here’s how he framed it, with Saget as the central pillar:

The most curious part of that response is Stamos saying “It’s not what you think it is,” which indicates the more public reports shared about Candace Cameron Bure and Jodie Sweetin don’t amount to the entirety of whatever strife is present. The Scream Queens vet isn’t hesitant or too proud to admit that he isn’t the right person to step in and play peacekeeper in Bob Saget’s stead. He isn’t invested with digging into his co-stars’ private lives in such a way, but thinks that the late comedian would have brought the calming sageness to the situation.

By and large, the kerfuffle between Bure and Sweetin has been the only publicly acknowledged feuding amongst Full House alums, which was seemingly based in large part on the former Hallmark star switch to Great American Family, with an eye toward producing holiday movies that adhere entirely to traditional marriage couplings. Those comments set off the LGBTQ+ community and its allies, with JoJo Siwa resurfacing her past issues with Bure in order to criticize the cable network’s limited programming scope, followed by Sweetin showing her own support for Siwa.

None of that back and forth was ever resolved, really, though the D.J. and Stephanie portrayers did sweep any friction under the rug so that they could reunite on stage for multiple appearances at ‘90s Con in 2023. So if they’re still technically cool enough to make that happen, was John Stamos referring to another underlying issue that fans aren’t privy to just yet?

Is everybody finally mad at Dave Coulier for farting in people’s faces while filming Full House all those years ago? Probably not. Perhaps Stamos was referring to the mostly silent-and-invisible Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, whom the General Hospital vet had previously discussed being angry with over their refusal to appear in Fuller House. But he still seems to be cool with them, having congratulated Ashley Olsen on having her first child nearly a year ago.

Whatever the case may be, it’s definitely a bummer that Bob Saget isn’t around to bring his NSFW wisdom to his former co-stars during their time of need. In the meantime, all episodes of Full House and Fuller House are available to stream in full with a Max subscription.

John Stamos — who has for decades been a spokesperson for Childhelp abuse prevention organization — recently opened up about his own personal history of being sexually abused. The trauma was something he was only able to come to terms with as he penned his upcoming book, If You Would Have Told Me: A Memoir, and it seems his speaking out has already made an impact. Several people including his Full House co-star Candace Cameron Bure and Kristin Chenoweth reached out to show their support after his brave revelation.

With his memoir set for release on October 24, John Stamos opened up in a recent interview about being sexually abused by a babysitter when he was 10 or 11 years old. He said he repressed the incident, unsure how to process those feelings at that age. Now he is hoping that telling his truth will help others know there is a place they can go for help, he said in a video posted to Instagram. The accompanying caption read: 

John Stamos spoke a little about the “unsettling event” from his childhood and expressed confusion at the time about what to do. He wasn’t sure if he should tell anyone and ended up burying it inside. It wasn’t until about five years ago, when he was preparing to give a speech at a charity event, that those memories came back in a “crystal clear vision” of what he had experienced. 

While he said he’s only dedicated a couple of paragraphs to the abuse in If You Would Have Told Me: A Memoir, it’s a “significant” and “profound” topic, and several of his friends agreed wholeheartedly in the comments of his video, sending their love in the comments:

It seems the Uncle Jesse portrayer’s story has already had an effect, and not just with his more well-known friends. John Stamos revealed that he’s already gotten several texts from friends who said they had gone through similar experiences and never told anyone. It definitely took courage for the actor to speak out, even 50 years later, as he pointed out, but hopefully he can get the help he needs now and continue helping other survivors of abuse to reach out for help. 

John Stamos’ memoir If You Would Have Told Me, will be released Tuesday, October 24, and will also look at his career as an actor on Full House, General Hospital and ER, as well as his time performing with The Beach Boys and other personal revelations about his life, including how Fuller House saved him after he was arrested for a DUI in 2015.
