Big Brother's 1,000th episode is approaching, and Julie Chen Moonves is hoping to get every past Houseguest involved. As fans watch BB online and wait for the big milestone to hit the 2026 TV schedule, the Chenbot pitched CinemaBlend her grand plan for how and when to bring a litany of Houseguests back from every prior season.

I recently had a chance to speak to Julie about the 1,000th episode, and tried to get some details on what we should expect. The host admitted that there are still plans being talked out amongst the Big Brother creatives, but was more than happy to share the suggestion she made:

Fortunately, it's not Julie's job to come up with the answers. She's just the host, and apparently part-time security, but there are likely plenty of producers and other execs who can figure out how to make a large-scale reunion happen.

Thus far, Big Brother has done a solid job working in legends from the past. Rachel Reilly returned from her elimination the season prior only to "die" in a volcano, and Howie Gordon returned to keep Dr. Will Kirby from taking control of the future. Man, this show is just so weird sometimes. I almost feel bad for the Survivor fans tuning in.

Maybe the solution is to do some competition that involves multiple Houseguests. I'm not sure they can realistically get "every" Houseguest from the past in one segment, but I'd applaud the effort to try. Maybe even get superfan James Gunn to direct a special intro to the episode or something! He might just do it, especially since he didn't get to feature Rick Devens in the Superman sequel.

More to Julie's point, if they can get every Houseguest they can to gather for a group picture on the CBS lot, that would be pretty awesome. Many of these people are scattered all across the nation, so it would be no small feat to pull it off. I'd appreciate the effort, even if it was a small moment in a larger episode.

Whatever the case is, I'm excited to see a reality series like Big Brother still going strong with 1,000 episodes. The level of interest in this season so far has me thinking that this show could easily last another 1,000 episodes, especially if they keep bringing on stars from other reality franchises.

Julie gave a house tour to CBS Mornings in a new video, where she also dropped the reveal that all is not as it appears when it comes to those two spiral discs on the roundtable. Here's what she had to say specifically:

She revealed ahead of the premiere that the Lazy Susans seen below are part of the season's Time Trip twist, but I'm not exactly sure we can figure out how based on what we've seen so far:

Fortunately, as someone who has previously already clocked an item that could have some relevance in the BB 28 house, I have some theories. Here's what I'm thinking so far, though, as always, I'll defer to the motto that we should always "expect the unexpected."

Food Challenges Are Coming Back

Lazy Susans on a table, in my mind, are often a place where food is placed. We also know that Big Brother Season 28's big theme involves time travel, so maybe a long-gone element from early seasons is making a comeback! Could we possibly see Food Challenges make a big return?

For the uninitiated, Food Challenges were a weekly competition in which the Houseguests had to play a game that dictated which groceries they'd receive for the week. Because not every item was guaranteed, there'd be times when they'd hit the jackpot and get a full buffet of items, and other times when they'd get all bread and veggies with no meat. Of all the ways Big Brother could nod at the past, I'd love to see this twist return the most.

Slop Items Will Rotate Week To Week

Slop is such a hot-button issue in recent seasons of Big Brother, with fans complaining it rarely has a meaningful impact on the season. Either we make slop interesting again, or do away with it, and while there are those on the site who prefer the latter, I think the show should consider shaking things up.

I think back to Season 14 that allowed viewers to vote on two items that the Have-Nots could have outside of slop. Or, maybe just give them other wild stuff to live on, like a week on anchovies and bananas. I think that would at least create more discussion and increase slop's relevance. Oh, the slop items would be displayed on the Lazy Susan, which is where it fits into this discussion.

The Key Wheel Is Coming Back

I want to preface this by saying that I don't believe this is the case, but because enough people want it to return, I'll manifest it. Maybe, just maybe, the Lazy Susans are meant for a key wheel to be placed on, and we're finally going to see the nomination ceremony unfold like it used to in the old days.

Ultimately, we have no idea how the Lazy Susans will play into Big Brother, and who knows just how relevant they are to Season 28. It's Julie's job to be the hype woman for the franchise, and for all we know, the way it relates to the twist is that they spin when the house goes "back in time" and revisits previous eras. Let's not forget how kooky this show gets; that could legitimately be all they do.

With the new Houseguests having moved in on Tuesday, I'm all the more eager to see the live feeds start after Big Brother: Unlocked on Friday. I'm dying to see who is getting along, who already had a blowout fight, and which Houseguest might've gotten removed before the first eviction ever started. This season is sure to be great, even if the Lazy Susans don't end up being as significant as advertised.

Big Brother Season 28 is just around the corner, much to my excitement. Of course, there are still plenty of details that have yet to be divulged. Ahead of its arrival on the 2026 TV schedule, series host Julie Chen Moonves is doing her usual vague posting and potentially hinting at what to expect. The host dropped a post on social media that seemed to hint that former Houseguests are returning to the latest season, and I'm very excited by the possibility!

In past seasons, viewers have seen Chen Moonves hint at both the theme and twists of a season via cryptic posts on social media. For instance, before Season 26, she made posts with AI before it was revealed that such technology be a major theme of the season. Now, ahead of Season 28 she's shared a GIF with former Houseguests, and fans can't help but speculate that we'll get eight returning Houseguests this season. Take a look:

The logic here is that Julie Chen Moonves shared eight emojis, along with a GIF that featured a bunch of former Houseguests. Now, take this with a grain of salt, because it's not like she can share future footage of a Big Brother season that hasn't aired yet. If this rumor is true, however, here's why I'd be thrilled, and why I'm more apt to believe than not that returning Houseguests are on the table for Big Brother Season 28.

Why Eight Returning Houseguests Would Have Me Hyped

If Big Brother is indeed planning for eight returning Houseguests this season, I'm absolutely on board. To start, that would mean that 50% of the players in the house would be returning contestants, and that would help prevent the in-house strategy of immediately targeting former players. It could even encourage the house to split between early 8-person alliances, as each side tries to get the upper hand on the numbers. Of course, those who want to win Big Brother know alliances must be made on varying sides and that they must work secretly from the shadows while the dominos fall.

The idea of eight returning players is also exciting, because it would give BB the feel of an all-star season, without it being a fully all-star cast. Season 22 left a bad taste in the mouths of a lot of die-hard fans, but we've had so many great cast members since then. I'd love to see several former Houseguests from Season 23 and on play again and, while I got that with a recent season of The Amazing Race, it's not as fun as seeing them compete in the Big Brother house.

This Isn't The First Hint Fans Have Gotten That Former Big Brother Houseguests Could Be In Season 28

Chen Moonves' post is just the latest hint that Season 28 will feature returning Houseguests. When the press release for the latest season rolled out, many noted that it merely referred to the contestants as "Houseguests" rather than "all-new Houseguests," as it had in the previous two seasons.

New Houseguests, returnees, or whatever is around the corner, I'm hyped for Big Brother Season 28, though I hope this theory proves to be true. Also, I'm especially curious to see what's on tap for the live feeds, as I'll be accessing those frequently using a Paramount+ subscription. Here's hoping this former Houseguests rumor pans out, because I'm already thinking about all the past favorites I'd love to see back in the house!

On that note, it's also possible this may be the final season in the iconic house used for production. The studio lot its located on is up for sale, and CinemaBlend reported back in April that Netflix is looking to purchase the lot. So if this is the last season with the modern BB house, shouldn't we send it out with a bang with classic players?

It was a wild night of Big Brother, with a double eviction sending two people to the jury house, and one of the biggest directors in Hollywood gracing the stage. While James Gunn was sad to see Lauren Domingue head to the jury house (no comment on Kelley Jorgensen), it didn't stop him from making an offer to Julie Chen Moonves that I would love to see happen.

As we all continue to watch Big Brother online via the live feeds and await Gunn's guest-star appearance on BB Unlocked on Friday, I'm looking ahead to the postseason. Not because I want this season to be over, but because I'm eager to see if we end up getting to see JCM on the set of Superman: Man of Tomorrow.

James Gunn Hinted At Offering Julie Chen Moonves A Role In Superman: Man Of Tomorrow

For those out of the loop, James Gunn appeared on Big Brother's live eviction night because he's the next superfan celebrity guest to guest-host on BB Unlocked. The DC "mastermind" told Julie he's been watching since Season 1, and listed Seasons 2, 6, 16, and 24 among his favorite seasons. Julie Chen Moonves was impressed that he's been a fan since the very start, and so was I, considering most hardcore fans admit it's one of the worst seasons to watch.

Big Brother rolled out the red carpet for James Gunn and even had a special treat for him. The director was tickled when he saw a BB Comic of Julie as the Chenbot, and when she joked that her schedule is open after the season ends, he said something I didn't see coming:

This is quite an offer to throw out there, considering it's one of the most-anticipated upcoming superhero movies. It's possible that he was joking, but as a diehard Big Brother fan, I know just how passionate other big fans can be about the show. I genuinely believe that if Moonves is legitimately interested in appearing in the movie, Gunn will find a way to get her in there.

Julie Chen Moonves Was In Supergirl

If Julie Chen Moonves does pop up in the DC world, it wouldn't be the first time. The host had a cameo role in Season 1 of Supergirl, back when it was still on CBS. Those with a Netflix subscription can find her part in Episode 16, in which she and the rest of the women of The Talk interview Cat Grant.

Why I Need To See This Happen

I need to see Julie Chen Moonves in Superman: Man of Tomorrow, if only because of all that just occurred on the live eviction of Big Brother. Imagine watching the movie two years from now, seeing the hostess, and knowing it was likely the direct result of his appearing on the show during a live eviction episode in Season 27.

Plus, once Julie gets in the door, I feel like it's fair game for James Gunn to start casting all of his favorite Big Brother players in random roles in his movies. Imagine the bragging rights BB fans would have if their host got in an actual DC movie! Jeff Probst may have an offer to appear in The White Lotus, but Ms. Julie Chen Moonves is a name worthy of the biggest summer blockbusters. It would be nice to get a win over the Survivor fans for once, if nothing else, as far as I'm concerned.

Of course, we'll have to wait and see if anything happens, and tune in alongside James Gunn to see how the rest of Big Brother Season 27 plays out. A new episode is coming to CBS on Sunday, September 21st at 10:00 p.m. ET.

It won't be long until Big Brother Season 27 premieres and becomes more than just a date on the 2025 TV schedule, and that couldn't be more evident than the latest new reveals about this season. In addition to the news that this will be a mystery-themed season, it appears we're going to be getting another mystery Houseguest added on premiere night.

As I mentioned back when this rumor surfaced in Season 26, there are only so many possibilities on who this person could be. This will be the first time since Season 25 welcomed Survivor vet Cirie Fields that a mystery Houseguest will play the game, and I hope it's not a former Big Brother player.

Returning Big Brother Houseguests Have A Tremendous Advantage Over New Players

My biggest issue with a returning player coming into Big Brother to play the game again is that it creates a tremendous power imbalance in the house. I get the thinking that, on paper, a returning Houseguest would be the biggest target in the house, and everyone else would gang up on them to get them out as quickly as possible.

The issue is that in practice, it rarely works out that way. More often than not, a few Houseguests gravitate to the experienced player, do their bidding, and then are unceremoniously eliminated while the vet skates along. Even beyond that, knowing the ropes of how the show works and what to prepare for puts a vet leagues ahead of the rest, who will take longer to adapt.

One of the reasons I loved Big Brother Season 26 was because of how chaotic and unpredictable it was. When one person is running the game, things become painfully predictable for me. So, while I can't really do much to change what BB has planned for Season 27, I am crossing my fingers and toes we aren't getting a former Houseguest in the cast.

I'm Fine With A Reality TV Star From Another Show, But It's Still Not Ideal

I can't imagine Big Brother would be hinting at a mystery Houseguest unless it was someone of note, so I'm left to assume we know this person from some other reality television show. While it's better than someone who has never played Big Brother before, it still gives them a significant advantage in terms of having experience with games that require social strategy.

Cirie Fields was a great example of this, as her popularity on Survivor made her a popular Houseguest everyone wanted to align with. It was a huge advantage in her favor, but ultimately, not enough to get her across the finish line. Her inability to control others' actions threw her off her game, and she was eliminated, finishing in fifth place.

Another thing I'll say is that putting a well-known Houseguest like Cirie in the game usually puts them at the forefront of the storylines. I think this is what led to Big Brother Season 25 feeling so disjointed at the end, with Jag Bains going on a huge run and unceremoniously winning because no one could beat him in a competition down the stretch. Perhaps Jag might have had more people in his corner had BB not focused so heavily on Cirie's game throughout the bulk of the season.

I'm assuming we'll see this Big Brother mystery Houseguest revealed on premiere night on Thursday, July 10th at 8:00 p.m. ET. Strap in for a 90-minute episode, and as always, expect the unexpected!

We're still waiting for the premiere of Big Brother Season 27, but with each passing day, it gets closer to its 2025 TV schedule debut. As is often the case in past seasons, each day gives new clues and insights about what the season's theme will be, or how a massive twist may impact the game. Now that I've seen a few clues, I feel confident in guessing this theme, and I'm not sure the last time I've felt this good about my hypothesis.

EW posted an exclusive photo of Julie Chen Moonves standing in front of a bunch of skeleton keys. House keys have long been a part of Big Brother branding, so it feels important to note these keys look markedly different than the ones we're used to seeing. Another hint that the keys aren't just an aesthetic choice is the quote the hostess gave alongside it, which can be read below:

I've been covering Big Brother for a long time now, enough to know that wording is very deliberate. Much like when Season 26 leaned into the growing trend of A.I., it seems there's a recurring theme popping up.

At first, I was skeptical of the theories surrounding this season's theme, because the theme is always shrouded in secrecy. Now that we have a few things to analyze now, I'm fully on board with the idea that the actual theme for Big Brother Season 27 is actually "secrets."

Why I Feel Confident The Theme For This Season Is "Secrets"

Keys are good for keeping secrets locked away. Julie Chen Moonves was holding a "top secret" folder on an Instagram post promoting Big Brother. Finally, the ASMR ads promoting the new season were strange, until one thinks of the big reasons why people commonly whisper. Could it be that they have a secret to share?

I'm pretty locked in on the idea that the theme for Big Brother Season 27 is secrets, but how that will factor into the season, we'll have to see. Does this mean that one Houseguest will be secretly controlled by viewers? Maybe every Houseguest is going to have one major secret they're hiding from everyone else.

This could even mean the return of secret rooms! Really, the possibilities are endless, and we're likely not going to know much more until a couple of weeks before the premiere date. That said, I'm thrilled by the possibility of the theme, assuming this is what Big Brother 27 will go with as we head into the summer.

I'm so eager to lose myself in my favorite reality show when it premieres on CBS, and I'm hoping this theme is enough to keep me as engaged as previous seasons.

It could be a stretch, but as someone pointed out in the comments, it wouldn't be the first time that Julie Chen Moonves gave a big clue about a season this early. Around this time last year, the hostess was part of a post tied to artificial intelligence, and that ultimately turned out to be the theme of Big Brother 26.

The "top secret" folder could be a clue to the theme or twist of Big Brother Season 27, though I have to say, it wouldn't be an entirely original theme. Season 12 had a "Saboteur," and Season 20 had a Hacker and one of the most uncomfortable beds in the Have-Not room. It feels like they've done spy stuff in a roundabout way before, so would they really go back and do it again?

It's certainly possible, and I would say no Big Brother twist is ever off the table in terms of making a return. In fact, there are some fans who would love to see twists from the past return, such as the "twin twist," where a Houseguest plays the game and swaps with their identical twin at the start and tries to slip by undetected. I'm still not sold that this picture is tied to the twist and might need to wait for another tease in the weeks to come to really commit to any one theory.

The 2025 TV schedule is rolling at full speed with lots of shows taking us through the spring season, but some reality show fans are already looking ahead to the summer. This Big Brother superfan is eagerly awaiting any details about Season 27, so when Julie Chen Moonves hit the internet with a post about the upcoming season, I was all over it. Chenbot is ready for BB to return, and I believe we'll get it sooner than usual.

As fun as the post is, I had to look at the calendar and wonder why Julie is teasing Season 27 so early. Is she saying it's coming sooner than we've been made to expect in recent years?

I Think Julie's Early Tweets Are A Sign Season 27 Will Premiere In Early Summer

With the exception of Season 25, whose premiere was pushed to August due to the SAG-AFTRA and WGA writers strikes, Big Brother's latest seasons have debuted in July. And since Season 26 was announced by CBS in May 2024, I am very curious why Julie Chen Moonves is hyping people up about the new season in March.

I hope this means we'll finally get a Big Brother season that premieres in June, which hasn't been the case since Season 21. It's happened seven times total in the show's long history, and I think there's a chance that we'll see it happen with Season 27.

I would love to see Season 27 return in June, especially since the current setup means Big Brother's season finales often collide with the early weeks of Survivor episodes. This means the exciting conclusions are occasionally bumped back or moved around so that CBS can get the survival series front and center in primetime. While I understand its popularity, it's a bummer as a fan to see a BB season go out with a whimper rather than get celebrated just because another series is back.

This is especially true with what's in store for the upcoming season, which will likely bring back the popular nomination twist from Season 26. The sooner I can watch this season, the better, so I think Julie drumming up fans so soon means there's a chance we'll see the season arrive earlier than July. I'd love it it were premiering the very first day of summer, but I think that's a reach to speculate.

Regardless of when Big Brother Season 27 is premiering, I'll be watching past seasons to get hyped up on Paramount+. The Big Brother: 25th Anniversary Celebration special promised a house reveal with clues toward the big twist, but there was never a promise that any of it would make sense. After poring over rumors and Julie Chen Moonves' vague tweets on any clues toward the landmark season, I'll admit I couldn't be more confused about what I'll be tuning into come Big Brother's premiere next Wednesday. 

I will be tuning in, to be sure, but I have to say that there's something really strange going on that doesn't jive with what I've learned so far. Is there more to this house than meets the eye, or is it all a bunch of misinformation and red herrings to prevent leaks before the season premiere? For those wondering what I'm rambling about, let's dive in and break down what has my brain all crossed up.

The Look Of The House Doesn't Mesh With The Key Art Or Promos

Just a day before the anniversary special, Julie Chen Moonves shared the key art for Big Brother Season 25 and declared that there were clues tied to the season's theme in it. The key art is vibrant and colorful, as are the promos for the season. It gave me the vibe that this season would tie into anything from superheroes to horror to maybe even Hollywood movies. Then I saw the house reveal, and it's not quite what I expected. What about the picture below looks like it has anything to do with superheroes, movies, or the Swamp Thing?

The Season 25 Big Brother house has a more muted look than the last few houses and almost resembles a modern home someone would actually live in. That is to say that it looks like some of the style seen in the older seasons of the series you can binge with a Paramount+ subscription and not the goofy more houses we've seen in modern seasons. 

Is this really what the house will look like all season, or can we expect more color and pop as the season continues? I have to think so, because so far, the logo doesn't even remotely resemble the house.

Julie Revealed Former Houseguests Will Cameo, But We May Not Recognize Them

Julie Chen Moonves teased that the premiere will feature "cameos" of former Houseguests but that we may not recognize them. I'm not entirely sure what that means, considering I think I'd know most of the memorable players if they walked into the house for any reason. Additionally, there was no artwork of former players around the home, so what the hell is she talking about? 

I think one possibility is that Julie might've been hinting we'll see the Morph O' Matic competition in the premiere and that it'll all be comprised of the faces of former Houseguests. That seems like an odd and time-consuming competition to do during a live premiere, especially if this cast has recruits who don't know the game as well as others. Again, I don't know what to think here, but I hope that if there are cameos, it's players I want to see. 

I Am Completely In The Dark On What All Of This Means, But I'm Still Excited

As frustrating as it was to end the anniversary special with more questions than I have answers, I'm still pumped for Big Brother Season 25. If nothing else, the CBS series reconfirmed it's able to keep viewers on their toes, and maybe we'll all be surprised by what we see referenced, even if it seems improbable that it will be.

I'm not sure if this key art was intentionally meant to be used as a clue, but I wouldn't be surprised if the answer was no. I say that because this is literally just the show logo with some colorful designs around it. However, as a seasoned Big Brother fan and avid user of my Paramount+ subscription for live feeds, I'm used to pulling valid theories from minimal information. Here are my thoughts on what the theme for this landmark season is, based on this picture alone. 

Superheroes

I think the most obvious image that stands out above is the comic-book style art design. The image next to it could be a gloved fist, and then the green hand is giving me some Swamp Thing vibes. We could be in for a superhero-themed season, which would be on-brand for Big Brother.

Superheroes and Big Brother have some crossover, thanks to the long-running BB Comics competition. Is it possible that Season 25 would go full tilt on an entire season dedicated to heroes, and theme all of its challenges like the Houseguests are heroes fighting villains and saving the day? It would be a bit corny, but it wouldn't be a BB theme without a touch of corniness to it. 

Horror

There's something super creepy about that green hand on the far right, in a way that is unlike what we usually see in Big Brother. Just zeroing in on that one element has me hoping for a horror-themed Season 25, even if there are other options on the table. Maybe that purple spiral part could allude to some classic Hitchcock thriller, and the red gel is some sort of monstrous blob? 

It could just be that I really want a horror-themed season because, honestly, the monster hand is the only strong bit of evidence here pointing to it. I'll be curious to see how that part factors into the entirety of the season, assuming we don't get a full-on horror-themed season. 

Hollywood Movie Genres

There's a lot going on in each individual part of the show logo's design, so much so that it's hard to really peg down one theme unless you're thinking of something broad. While I initially thought superheroes or horror, I think widening the scope of it out to one that comfortably fits both, like Hollywood movie genres, works even better. 

It would also be hard to pull off as opposed to a normal twist, especially if the theme was going to rotate from week to week. That would, presumably, create a bunch of work for the crews compared to something more consistent where set pieces could be reused and repurposed. Even so, I think it's a legitimate option to consider and one that I'd welcome with open arms as someone who, unsurprisingly given where I work, has a love of movies. 

BB Comics (And Other Iconic Competitions)

Big Brother fans know that the comic book image could be a nod to BB Comics, one of the most popular competitions of the game. Using that mindset, is it possible that other iconic competitions from the game are being alluded to here? While the green hand image freaks me out, I can't deny it bears a striking resemblance to the night vision camera visuals we see during the competitions that occur in blacked-out rooms. 

Beyond those two pictures, though, I'm struggling to think of what other competitions could be represented by the lava lamp-looking design and the purple spiral with transparent circles. Maybe it'll be one of those answers that's painfully obvious once I finally learn it, but for now, I'm drawing a blank on how those two pieces fit into the puzzle. If nothing else, I'm just hoping one of them isn't referencing that awful luxury comp from All-Stars 2. 

Team Twist

Perhaps the images are less about the twist, and the number of images is more relevant. Big Brother had great success in Season 23 when it brought back the team twist, which divided all of the Houseguests into four separate teams. By playing as a team, the Houseguests were able to ensure widespread safety, which inadvertently protected some of the weakest players who might've had poor competition performance or a weak social game at the beginning. 

I would be down to see the team twist return for Season 25, even if it had only been gone for a couple of seasons. Perhaps the point of this is that each image represents another team and the area of the house they'll be living in at the start of the game. I'd be on board with it, especially if the house is split between four radically different designs. 

The Multiverse

I don't think it's any secret that the concept of a multiverse is hot in pop culture right now. Perhaps it's time for Big Brother to hop on the trend and lean into the idea that the various worlds of the reality television show are colliding into a garbled-up mess that could lead to a near-total collapse of the game as we know it. 

That may sound dramatic, but let's not forget that Big Brother is celebrating 24 prior seasons of the game in Season 25. Perhaps the idea is to send the past out with a bang in a blowout situation and then reset the entire franchise Crisis On Infinite Earths-style by the end of the season. I'd totally be down for a lore reset in Big Brother and maybe the heroic exits of characters like Zingbot, OTEV, and even the bathtub rubber duck with sunglasses. It would be the perfect way to revamp the series and maybe create some new traditions as the series enters a new era in Season 26 and beyond. This theory is a little wild, but hey, expect the unexpected!

Big Brother Season 25 will premiere on CBS with a live move-in premiere on Wednesday, August 2nd, at 8:00 p.m. ET.  Hopefully we'll know the full extent of the theme and twist by the end of that episode and any other surprises we may not know about. 

Big Brother Season 25 is fast approaching, even though the August 2 premiere is still weeks away. Thankfully, the good people running the show are delivering a special ahead of time to celebrate the 25th anniversary season of the CBS reality show. With the network's latest announcement, we also learned something pretty significant that should delight anyone holding onto their Paramount+ subscription for live feeds. 

There's still a good deal we need to know about Big Brother Season 25, but hopefully more answers are on the way soon. Here's what we know about the upcoming anniversary special, as well as the extra information that will undoubtedly make some hardcore fans relieved ahead of the upcoming season. 

Big Brother Will Air An Anniversary Special Ahead Of The Season With Exclusive Season 25 Content

Remember when Kaysar Ridha, Janelle Pierzina, and Taylor Hale were all together filming something for Big Brother? We officially now know it was an anniversary special filmed in collaboration with Entertainment Tonight and host Nischelle Turner. The special will highlight the past 24 seasons of the game and cover some of the biggest moments with the help of numerous notable former players listed below:

The most exciting part is that at the end of the special, viewers are promised a sneak peek of the Big Brother Season 25 house, and there's an opportunity to spot some clues that might lead toward the season's big twist. I should note that past house themes like Season 23's ocean theme didn't give away a ton about the team twist, so I'd be excited if the house theme actually syncs up with the big twist coming. Those interested in the special can tune in and watch on CBS on Wednesday, July 26th at 9:00 p.m. ET. 

Big Brother Confirmed A Live Move-In Premiere

Big Brother also confirmed a key bit of news unrelated to the anniversary special, but it's super exciting to learn all the same. We finally have confirmation that Season 25's premiere will be a live move-in special, which means 90 minutes of seeing the Houseguests enter the house and play their first competitions to kick off the season.

It also means, presumably, that we'll get another season of live feeds from the first night of the game. This is key because it allows viewers the full context behind early alliances, dynamics between Houseguests, and everything else that happens in the first few nights. 

For those who need a reminder of how entertaining the first few nights of feeds can be, last season featured a whirlwind of events that ultimately led to Houseguest Paloma Aguilar withdrawing from the game, and the season before that was Brandon "Frenchie" French's chaotic Head of Household that tried to put the entire house in an alliance. Night 1 feeds have been a gift in the past, and hopefully, they'll be a gift that keeps on giving. 

As mentioned, Big Brother will get the fun started a bit early with Big Brother 25th Anniversary Celebration set to air on CBS on Wednesday, July 26th at 9:00 p.m. ET. There's still some time to squeeze in a binge of a previous season of the franchise on Paramount+ in case anyone wants to do so, but hopefully, the days will fly by before the new season gets underway. 

Summer means a lot of different things for many people, but for some, it's all about the return of Big Brother. CBS is bringing the landmark social experiment series back for Season 25, which is quite a milestone. The anniversary, paired with the great quality of the previous two seasons, set the bar pretty high for this season. Will it rise to the challenge, or will this be a rough ride from the premiere to finale night? 

The new season is almost here, which means it’s the perfect time to revisit all of the things we know about Big Brother Season 25. Below is a rundown of the things we absolutely know about this season based on official information passed on by the series. As usual, CBS isn't revealing every secret right off the bat, but we have learned enough about this season to give readers an idea of what's ahead when the show returns. 

Big Brother Season 25 Will Premiere In August

The WGA writers strike will impact the number of scripted shows airing fall season, and that may also be the reason CBS has bumped Big Brother to much later than it usually airs in the summer. Following some credible rumors, CBS officially confirmed that Season 25 will kick off on Wednesday, August 2nd. That's close to when Season 22 aired during the height of lockdown in 2020, which tracks because it was also a time when television was light on scripted programming. 

Assuming that Big Brother goes the standard length of a season, it's looking like we won't see the finale until the very end of October or the first week of November. So while it's a downer that we'll go a chunk of summer without new episodes. At least the fun will run well into the fall. 

Season 25 Will Have A 90-Minute Premiere Episode

As has been the case for a couple of seasons now, Big Brother is kicking off Season 25 with an extended episode. A 90-minute premiere is typically long enough for the series to introduce every Houseguest, show off the house, and do a couple of challenges to determine who will be Head Of Household. 

In addition to the premiere being 90 minutes, we also received confirmation that Big Brother Season 25 will have a live move-in premiere.  One of the benefits-- for fans, at least -- of the live move-in is that, in addition to getting a relatively unedited view of the Houseguests' arrival, it also means that live feeds will follow shortly after. 

This shortens the amount of time in which the Houseguests are in the house without the feeds being available so that viewers can track their game moves and alliances at the very start of the season. It's really helpful for context, especially compared to older seasons where the first episode would premiere days or longer after the Houseguests moved in -- meaning that when the live feeds came on for the first time, the houseguests had already been living together and strategizing for a significant period of time.

The Season Will Feature All-New Houseguests

While Big Brother has been known to bring back familiar Houseguests from previous seasons, it doesn't seem like that'll be the case this time. The announcement made sure to mention that a group of "all-new Houseguests" would be playing, which squashed any speculation that Season 25 would feature returnees and past winners. 

For those disappointed that the anniversary may be without returnee Houseguests, it's not like we've gone too long without a returnee season. Anyone with a Paramount+ subscription can easily queue up the previous All-Stars in Season 22, which was considered a bit of a let-down by many. That's not to say there still isn't a want for more all-star seasons, but it might be best to let a little more time pass before trying again. 

Big Brother Season 25 Will Feature Throwbacks To Previous Seasons

From CBS's announcement, it appears that returning Houseguests are off the table for Big Brother Season 25, but that doesn't mean that the series will ignore the past of the franchise. Season 25 is a milestone anniversary that will apparently be reflected in the elements of this season. Viewers were told to expect many twists and turns, and "throwbacks to the past 24 seasons."

The phrasing in CBS's announcement is pretty vague, which leaves the door wide open in terms of what to expect. Perhaps we'll see some classic twists work their way into this season, or maybe even some long-forgotten challenges work their way back into rotation. Personally, I'd love to see food and luxury challenges make a return, though I'm not holding my breath on that one. 

One past feature I am thinking could make a return, thanks to the vague tweeting of Julie Chen Moonves, is the return of the key wheel. The classic device was used in nomination ceremonies all the way up until Season 16 when it was replaced with the current method. This is just one example of bringing back a classic element of the season that would mix things up for the season, and call back to the series’ history. Now, here’s hoping someone thought ahead and built a “pressure cooker” competition. 

Live Feeds Will Continue For Season 25

Longtime Big Brother faithful may think announcing the continuation of live feeds is silly. After all, live feeds have been a staple of the CBS reality series since the very beginning. With that said, there was some reason to be suspicious this season that things could be different after Big Brother Canada opted out of live feeds for its latest season. 

Fortunately, it's already been confirmed, even ahead of the premiere date, that the United States iteration of Big Brother will continue to offer live feeds on Paramount+. Anyone who hasn't had a chance to experience live feeds should definitely take the plunge in Season 25, and reference our helpful live feeds for beginners' guide on how to navigate it all. 

With all that being said, there was a nasty rumor that surfaced in recent months suggesting that Paramount+ is looking into the idea of limiting live feeds in the same way that Big Brother Canada did. While the validity of these rumors can’t be confirmed, one would imagine this will be a big year for those who enjoy live feeds to show just how necessary they are to the overall health of Paramount+, just in case. Hopefully, we’ll still continue to get the live feeds in the future, especially after seeing how episodes can be edited and leave out a ton of context to major game moments. 

Big Brother Will Start With Its Normal Schedule, But Shift Times In The Fall

Big Brother Season 25 will have a relatively normal start, or at least one that jives with the normal schedule hours of the series. Those tuning in can expect the first few weeks to have episodes on Sundays at 8:00 p.m. ET, Wednesdays at 8:00 p.m. ET, and the live Thursday show at 9:00 p.m. ET. This is the usual summer schedule, but when fall hits, we’ll see that schedule shift. 

To make room for super-sized episodes of Survivor and The Amazing Race, as well as Season 1 of Yellowstone on CBS, Big Brother will have to alter its schedule. Thursday episodes will move back an hour to 8:00 p.m. ET, the Wednesday episode will shift to Tuesday, and Sundays will get a time change to 10:00 p.m. ET. That Sunday start time is going to be late for people who need to be up in the morning, so be sure to check in with CinemaBlend before bedtime for any relevant spoilers if you can’t stay up. 

Julie Chen Moonves Is Back To Host

It wouldn't feel like a regular season without Julie Chen Moonves at the helm. The host is back for yet another season, and as she's stated in the past, she's planning on sticking around for as long as she can form a sentence. 

That's great because I can't imagine who would take her place, and if anyone even could after 25 seasons of the game. Like Jeff Probst is to Survivor, or Ryan Seacrest to American Idol, Big Brother without Julie Chen Moonves would just feel weird. Here's to another year with her, and hopefully, there are many more to come!

As mentioned, Big Brother will kick off its latest season on CBS with a 90-minute premiere on Wednesday, August 2nd at 8:00 p.m. ET. Now is the time to revisit previous seasons over on Paramount+ and maybe start guessing which elements from the past may factor into Season 25.  

It doesn't seem all that long ago that Big Brother fans were watching Taylor Hale pull off one of the greatest wins of the show's history, but we're nearly just as removed from that finale as we are from the usual start of a new season. Fans still have a wait until the premiere of new episodes in the summer... unless Julie Chen Moonves is secretly signaling a surprise season of Celebrity Big Brother. The host is vague-posting yet again on social media, so does it mean something or is she trolling? 

Speculation about a new season of Big Brother is officially underway as Julie Chen Moonves got folks talking with a picture she uploaded with little context to Twitter. Take a look at the photo, which shows Julie seated in a room that Celebrity Big Brother fans might remember: 

Julie Chen Moonves is seated in a lounge last seen in Celebrity Big Brother Season 2, but why is she posting it? For me, the most likely scenario is that this is an old photo and not one of any current Big Brother set, but then why post it? Perhaps the host is feeling nostalgic... or she's signaling the return of Celebrity Big Brother. 

I'm skeptical of the latter for a few reasons, the first of which is that we're nearly past the same window of time when Season 3 of Celebrity Big Brother aired. Season 3 concluded on February 23rd, 2022, and as of writing, we're under a week away from that date. The production team will need time to cast and prepare for Season 25, so adding a season of the spinoff between March and the potential start time of Season 25 in July could create a time crunch for the staff. 

Let's also not forget that Julie Chen Moonves has posted a lot of teases for Big Brother in her tenure as host, and not all of them have panned out. Let's not forget that before Season 23, she had some fans speculating the season would involve duos due to a video she uploaded. That video ultimately meant nothing, and the same might be true of the above picture. 

I personally would be very surprised to see Celebrity Big Brother return for Season 4 so soon after the many controversies that occurred during Season 3. There was lots of drama between the cast that made for an incredibly tense and awkward finale, and I can imagine other prospective celebrities would hesitate to participate after learning that. That's just speculation on my end, however, and there's no telling if Season 3 would be a detriment to any celebrity joining Season 4. 

We must always remember, as all good Big Brother houseguests do, to "Expect the unexpected." Paramount+ might be readying the release of another spinoff on its platform, or we could very well be blindsided with a new season of Celebrity Big Brother on CBS. I know I definitely want to believe either of those scenarios, but I might just stay skeptical to prevent being disappointed. 

Big Brother fans can binge previous seasons of the series with a Paramount+ subscription. Hopefully, Julie Chen Moonves' tease means that real details on Big Brother are on the way, and we'll soon get to see a fresh cast enter the house.  

The summer is fast approaching, and its arrival means the return of Big Brother to CBS. Season 24 officially has a premiere date of Wednesday, July 6, and will precede the premiere of a special season of The Challenge: USA, so it’s sure to be a big night. Unfortunately, there’s no mention so far of one very popular element of recent Big Brother premieres, and it's possible that Season 24 won't have a live move-in.

The initial announcement for Big Brother Season 24’s 90-minute premiere features no mention of a live move-in event. CinemaBlend spoke to a CBS representative about the live move-in, but they were unsure about whether or not it would happen. Suffice to say, losing it would be a big blow to the fans who grew to love all the perks that went along with it. 

The live move-in was originally featured in Big Brother: Over The Top, which was exclusive to Paramount+ subscribers. CBS’ Big Brother first introduced live move-ins with Season 22, and despite one snafu on that premiere night, brought it back for Season 23. 

The biggest perk of a live move-in, from a fan perspective, is that viewers get to see the exact moment the game starts. In previous seasons, and even the more recent Celebrity Big Brother Season 3, HouseGuests would have days to maybe even a week before live feeds began to get acclimated, as well as form alliances. 

Missing out on that time creates a large time gap where viewers have to catch up on what happened, which can lead to confusing situations they don’t have the context for. One big example would be all the controversy from Celebrity Big Brother Season 3 regarding Mirai Nagasu, which we may never get the full story behind. 

It was also because of the live move-in and night of live feeds that fans got to see Season 23’s Brandon “Frenchie” French go off the rails with possibly the most chaotic Head of Household that the game had ever seen. In previous seasons that didn’t have live move-ins, we would’ve seen all that chaos unfold throughout brief clips to fill the hour, which can never possibly due justice to most situations.

The live move-in has shown that sometimes the most exciting part of Big Brother is the very beginning. Also, dedicated fans like watching the live feeds for as long as they possibly can, so it’s ideal if they’re up as close to the start of the game as possible. 

As for other details about Big Brother Season 24, episodes during the season will air on Sundays and Wednesdays at 8:00 p.m. ET, with live eviction episodes on Thursdays at 9:00 p.m. ET. The cast is also referred to as “all-new,” which would presumably mean not to expect returning cast members this season. More details on the season will come later on, hopefully including news of a live move-in.

Big Brother Season 23 is finally in its finale week and, in just a few days, the CBS reality series will crown its first Black winner. Right now, it’ll either be Derek Frazier, Xavier Prather, or Azah Awasum, and a large part of who wins will depend on who wins Part Three of the Final Head of Household competition.

If you’ve been watching the live feeds, you already know who won Part One and Two of the biggest competition in Big Brother. For those who have only been watching the episodes, let’s break down who won each competition and who they’ll likely pick to sit next to them in the Final Two chair.

Xavier Prather Won Part 1 Of The Final HOH

I don’t think anyone needed to watch the live feeds to expect this. Xavier Prather has been on a tear since the house got down to its Final Six and has all but dominated the competitions he’s participated in thus far. Azah Awasum and Derek Frazier likely put up a fight, but neither has been a competition threat all game. As the winner, Xavier was able to sit back and wait to see who he’d go up against in Part Three.

Azah Awasum Won Part 2 Of The Final HOH

Azah Awasum and Derek Frazier went head to head in Part Two of the final Head of Household, and Azah won. Again, this wasn’t an entirely unexpected development, especially since Derek Frazier hasn’t won a single competition the entire game. Azah will go up against Xavier in Part Three, and the winner will decide who they will take with them to the Final Two.

Derek F Will Probably Go To Final 2 No Matter Who Wins

While we don’t know who will win the Final Head of Household between Azah Awasum and Xavier Prather, we do know who they’ll likely take to Final Two. As previously mentioned, Derek Frazier has not won a single competition the entire game. If chosen, he’d be the first person since Dr. Will Kirby to reach Final Two without a comp win. However, it’s doubtful anyone in the jury house would view that as a significant achievement, given Derek has constantly complained that he hasn’t won anything.

Azah's in-game accomplishments exceed Derek's, so he's the smart option for her. Xavier taking Derek would fulfill his Day One promise of a Final Two deal with Derek (not to mention he wants the least competitive player next to him). The bright side for Derek is that he’s guaranteed at least runner-up prize money. The downside, however, is that he has about a snowball’s chance in hell of the jury voting him the winner over Azah or Xavier, but stranger things have happened.

It's getting complicated in the Big Brother 23 house for Tiffany Mitchell. She's been in the dominant “Cookout” alliance since Day 1 but has struggled to fall in line with the plans of the group. This week, they tested her allegiance when it came to the matter of her outside ally Claire Rehfuss needing to be eliminated. Mitchell and Rehfuss ultimately had a heart-to-heart over what was going to happen, which apparently even incited an emotional reaction from host Julie Chen.

The short and sweet of what went down in the Big Brother house is that during Tiffany Mitchell’s hotly contested HOH, a twist of fate at the veto competition left Mitchell with no other target but Claire Rehfuss. Mitchell delicately explained that she couldn't be the one to vote out one of her fellow Black contestants and, in a beautiful moment, Rehfuss shared in the diary room that she understood the decision, considering the legacy for minorities in the Big Brother game.

Big Brother fans should have guessed that Tiffany Mitchell and Claire Rehfuss' tough discussion hit Julie Chen in all the feels. The longtime host ambiguously added to “Love one another” to her traditional sign off at the end of the episode. In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Chen shared the full extent of her emotional reaction to the events that unfolded, saying,

I agree, Julie Chen. Tiffany Mitchell and Claire Rehfuss’ moment on Big Brother 23 was practically Shakespearean. It was the most genuine, human exchange of the season, if not the whole show. Very rarely are contestants who are vying for the likes of $750,000 on reality TV willing to fall on the proverbial sword in the name of ethics. In fact, many players notoriously renounce their ethics altogether. (Apparently, Rehfuss still has no hard feelings for Mitchell from outside the house.)

With Claire Rehfuss’ vote-out (and later also Alyssa Lopez’s) on Thursday’s double eviction night, Tiffany Mitchell’s decision allowed for history to happen on Big Brother 23. For the first time in the show’s 21 years, the final six are all Black players, guaranteeing that it will have its first Black winner as well. Julie Chen has previously shut down talk that the Cookout alliance’s strategy was actually “reverse racism.” She still maintains that the Cookout’s secrecy is “unheard of” in Big Brother and they should be congratulated for what is a “historic moment on many levels.”

Even though she sent her closest friend out the door in service of the Cookout, it’s very much apparent that Tiffany Mitchell is in trouble. The remaining guys clearly want her out, but I still have hope that my frontrunner will outstrategize them, as she has in the past. The next episode of Big Brother 23 airs on September 12 at 8:30 p.m. ET, so tune in to find out which Cookout member is the first to go.

Some Big Brother 23 spoilers are ahead for recent episodes, so tread carefully!

Big Brother 23 has already made history with its six Black contestants in “the Cookout” alliance making it to the final eight. It's never been done before and there's certainly never been a final winner who was Black, either. Nevertheless, the alliance's strategy to forward their six members at any cost (including voting out those they're actually close with) has led to certain claims amongst fans that the group is racist. Host Julie Chen recently responded to the backlash surrounding the Cookout’s strategy, and she's not on board with that argument.

The alliance itself consists of Azah Awasum, Derek Frazier, Xavier Prather, Kyland Young, Hannah Chaddha and Tiffany Mitchell, and each Houseguest has spoken on camera about the importance of The Cookout's existence. It would seem that Big Brother’s Julie Chen agrees, and in an interview with Entertainment Weekly, she denied that racism is a factor here. She said:

It's certainly important to consider the history of race and racism in TV media when thinking about these claims surrounding Big Brother 23. In reality television shows in particular, Black representation is consistently criticized for being either completely stereotypical or completely nonexistent, with a few degrees of differences in between. Only last year did CBS commit to diversifying its Big Brother and Survivor casts more than the show have in the past. Droves of Black people advocating for themselves have clearly moved the dial, even if it doesn't always guarantee victories.

It would seem that Julie Chen thinks that the Cookout is a means of rectifying a past that, up until now, saw Big Brother’s few-and-far-between Black players being voted out without much of a second thought from others, because they were always left on the outside of majority alliances. It should be pointed out, too, that these claims of racism could imply that the members of the Cookout believe they are superior to the others competitors in the house, which is plainly not true.

That said, it hasn't been an easy road for the Cookout alliance when it comes to its own members getting along. Tiffany Mitchell – my front runner to win Big Brother 23 who is apparently managing a secret showmance – has clashed with Azah Awasum and Derek Frazier in previous episodes, but she really angered the whole group when she went against the consensus to throw the most recent HOH, in order to save her friend Claire Rehfuss. Now the Cookout is contemplating moving away from thinking with a group mentality to the more individual game that Mitchell is leaning into.

Julie Chen teased not too long ago that she was preparing for Season 23 of Big Brother, and with good reason, because the premiere is not that far off. The host recently revealed in a Q&A that the CBS reality series will return Wednesday, July 7, and also revealed the season's theme that has me asking all the questions.

The Chenbot joined Love Island narrator Matthew Hoffman and host Arielle Vanderberg for a Q&A in the Clubhouse app and jointly revealed both Big Brother and Love Island (which struggled in its opening season following the reality juggernaut) will premiere in an epic night. Julie confirmed that Season 23 will once again feature a live move-in special and that the theme for this season is the "BB Beach Club."

Big Brother Season 23 will kick off with an all-new group of Houseguests moving into the newly redesigned house, with a tease of "high risk" and "high reward." It's said that "one wrong gamble" could cost Houseguests everything, which is one too many gambling references for an alleged beach-themed season. That is unless this season is themed after the Jersey shore, which is a stone's throw away from Atlantic City.

After the live premiere, Big Brother will resume the typical schedule of episodes on Sundays and Wednesdays at 8:00 p.m. ET, with the live eviction on Thursdays at 8:00 p.m. ET as well. Houseguests will be moving into the redesigned house, though Julie Chen paused somewhat when Ariella Vandenberg asked whether they'd be on a beach. What was that about?

One thing that struck me as odd was that during the Clubhouse Q&A, Julie Chen talked about how we all need a vacation and will enjoy living vicariously through the Houseguests. I could be reading into it too much, but is it possible these Houseguests could be getting out of the house a bit this season? That seems a bit risky given the onslaught of wall-yellers that spoiled secrets for the show last season, but I'm just so conditioned to "expect the unexpected" I can't rule it out.

One other minor note for Big Brother fans – it was stressed that this season will feature an "all-new" group of Houseguests. That means no returning players, which is probably for the best given the lackluster sequel season to Big Brother: All-Stars. Plus CBS pledged to have a more diverse cast this coming season, so this has an opportunity to be a season truly unlike ones we've seen in the past.

As television schedules slowly return to something resembling "normal," Big Brother fans may have forgotten what the timeline of a traditional season looks like after the chaos that occurred going into Big Brother: All-Stars. Now, with more TV productions happening and with fewer delays overall - (knock on wood) - it appears Big Brother Season 23 is on track for its usual early summer premiere window, at least if Julie Chen's vague hints on Twitter are any indication.

Yes, the hype train for Big Brother's upcoming season is officially underway as the CBS reality series' host sent out a fully crafted tweet on her account for the first time since January, and it doesn't take a world-renowned sleuth to figure out what she's hyping. Check out the picture tweet below from Chenbot that has sent the fandom into an early frenzy.

Julie Chen could be trolling everybody here with a completely unrelated photoshoot, but given the time of the year and her use of emojis, it appears she is in the process of setting up promotional material for the upcoming 23rd season of Big Brother. I'm going to assume these photos weren't being taken at the actual house where Big Brother's new cast will be staying, because that pool alone is nicer than any house design we've seen across the series.

Given the date of the tweet, and given the assumption that the photoshoot happened close to when Julie Chen shared it, Big Brother appears to still be on track for a Summer 2021 premiere date. In a typical year, new seasons tend to premiere during the final weeks of June, and I'd speculate that window seems as good as any for when Season 23 will debut, especially if the coming weeks will deliver reveals about the house design leading into a full cast breakdown.

It's certainly a positive sign that we're already getting teases on Twitter, compared to last year when fans and former players debated for months over whether or not Season 22 would actually happen. The series, of course, did return with a late start with its "all-stars" cast, and the contestants were given COVID tests frequently while on set to prevent the season from being shut down. Other Big Brother iterations around the world had different protocols and processes, with Big Brother Canada actually ending its season prematurely before a winner could be decided.

CBS has been expectantly mum about what the ground rules will be for Big Brother Season 23, though it wouldn't be surprising if contestants were regularly tested for COVID-19 prior to entering the house, possibly with proof of vaccination being necessary. A contestant ideally will have to make it all three months in the house to win, so one would think the producers won't want to run the risk of someone being infected and needing to be removed from the game mid-season. Julie Chen spent most of last season socially distanced from Houseguests, so it will be interesting to see if that changes for the upcoming episodes.

Big Brother Season 23 does not have a release date yet at CBS, obviously but the show's superfans will certainly keep eyes and ears peeled for any clues that may spring up along the way. Speaking of which, those that missed out on the news earlier this year that Julie Chen pushed for the return of Celebrity Big Brother definitely need to read up on what she had to say about that.

The Talk is making headlines again for controversial reasons, with the buzz this time centered on co-host Sharon Osbourne and comments that she allegedly made about former co-hosts Julie Chen and Sara Gilbert. Osbourne is currently the last original Talk host standing after Chen departed in 2018 and Gilbert tearfully departed in 2019, and fellow former co-host Leah Remini has spoken up to claim that Osbourne made racist and homophobic comments about Chen and Gilbert.

Leah Remini, known for speaking out on controversial topics by this point in her career, is reportedly one of multiple sources to tell Yashar Ali for his newsletter that Sharon Osbourne referred to Julie Chen, who is Chinese American, as "wonton" and "slanty eyes" and executive producer Sara Gilbert, who is a lesbian, as "pussy licker" and "fish eater." Remini also claims that Osbourne referred to Chen as "pillow-talking with our boss," in reference to then-CBS head and Chen's husband Les Moonves.

Julie Chen appeared on The Talk with Sharon Osbourne for the first eight seasons of the series, while Sara Gilbert stuck around the series through the end of Season 9. Leah Remini was a Talk co-host for one season, with Remini, Holly Robinson Peete, and Marissa Jaret Winokur all leaving the series before Season 2. Sources claim that Osbourne has a history of bullying including racist language.

Although Sharon Osbourne has been on the airwaves as a Talk co-host for more than a decade at this point, she became the subject of scrutiny recently when she rose to the defense of friend Piers Morgan, who left Good Morning Britain in the wake of comments made about Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. This led to a heated debate between Osbourne and current co-host Sheryl Underwood, in which she told Underwood not to cry.

Shortly thereafter, Holly Robinson Peete took to Twitter to make an accusation of her own about Sharon Osbourne, posting:

Holly Robinson Peete followed up on Twitter by making it clear that she loved being on The Talk, but "sometimes awesome gifts come in humiliating packages." She also made it clear that she misses working with Leah Remini. As for Remini, she also alleges that Sharon Osbourn used Italian slurs to refer to her, including "wap" and "Guinea." A clip has resurfaced online of Osbourne saying that Remini's style of speech is "ghetto."

In response to the new allegations from Leah Remini and sources, Sharon Osbourne's publicist Howard Bragman released a statement, saying:

At the time of writing, neither Julie Chen nor Sara Gilbert has reacted to Leah Remini's claims or the current controversy surrounding Sharon Osbourne on social media. The Talk is currently on a brief hiatus so that an internal review of the episode that featured the argument Osbourne and Holly Robinson Peete can be conducted. For now, only time will tell whether Osbourne still has a future at The Talk or if The Talk will be looking for another new co-host in the not-too-distant future.

Big Brother All-Stars left a bad taste in many in the fandom's mouths, and it looks like Julie Chen and producers looked to rectify that in 2021. We already know CBS is planning to bring a new season to viewers in the summer, but Chen and the reality series' producers wanted 2021 to have something more. According to the host herself, she and producers really pushed CBS to bring back Celebrity Big Brother this winter for Season 3.

The news comes from Season 21 and All-Stars participant Nicole Anthony, who welcomed Julie Chen on her podcast, Hello, Friends!. Chen explained that if ever there was a time to bring back Celebrity Big Brother, now might be it:

Julie Chen makes a valid point and, with COVID-19 restrictions still keeping celebrities at home in 2021, the talent pool for who's available may be much larger. Well, theoretically anyway, as a few houseguests allegedly rejected an invite to Big Brother All-Stars due to stay at home orders, while others tested positive for COVID and couldn't compete. If a star is stuck at home and unable to film their upcoming movie or television show, one has to question whether they'll jump on reality television as a substitute.

Julie Chen campaigned alongside Big Brother producers for CBS to get them back for Celebrity Big Brother this winter, though campaigning can only go so far. Chen didn't leave listeners in suspense about how far the talks went and said the network's answer:

It sounds like CBS is not on board with Celebrity Big Brother in 2021, at least for now. Of course, we all saw last year how CBS was on the fence about Big Brother even airing that year, only to pull the trigger when many other shows were forced to halt production. I think this "not yet" means the network isn't flat-out against it and will be willing to bring back Celebrity Big Brother eventually.

The American version of Celebrity Big Brother debuted in 2018 and aired its second season in 2019. 2020 was obviously an off-year for all television and, now, the current CBS stance is that 2021 will not see the spinoff return, either. With that said, it does sound like CBS will keep an open mind to a return and that we could see Season 3 in 2022 or beyond. Personally, I'm still holding out hope Julie Chen can make a winter 2021 season happen, though I'm not holding my breath.

Big Brother All-Stars has been over for a couple of months now, but the drama and fun with its stars are still going strong right into the end of 2020. Recently, fans were up in a tizzy, and for a second it looked like pitchforks were being raised against beloved host Julie Chen. It all stems from a gift the host sent former houseguest Kevin Campbell, which confused him greatly.

For context, Kevin Campbell revealed during Big Brother All-Stars that when he came out as gay, he was publicly shamed in his church and excommunicated from the Jehovah's Witness religion. The experience certainly impacted his outlook on religion, which then made it weird when he opened up a care package from CBS and found a bible and Christian-themed snacks specifically from host Julie Chen. In the original video, it's clear Kevin Campbell is a bit confused by the gesture. While Kevin didn't explicitly lay out his thoughts on the situation in his video, other Big Brother fans went to bat for him to call out Julie Chen for what they believed was an insensitive gift.

There was also the crowd on the other end of the spectrum, who felt it was wrong of Kevin and the fans to react any negative way to the gift. After all, a gift is a gift, even if it may not be a great one for the person receiving it.

This discourse went back and forth between fans on Twitter before Kevin Campbell himself finally hopped back on the platform to get specific about how he felt about the gift. Kevin thanked fans for weighing in on the situation and laid out where he stood with Julie Chen after receiving the gift.

Ultimately, Kevin Campbell holds no ill will towards Julie Chen for her religious gift. Even if he won't be using her gifted bible, he seems grateful to have received a gift, and that CBS would send him a care package for being on Big Brother All-Stars at a time where it wasn't easy for anyone to do many things.

Big Brother All-Stars is working overtime to ensure that its production crew and contestants can do their jobs in a safe environment. Some of the new safety measurements include crew members working from outside the Big Brother house and everyone being tested for COVID-19, among other things. Following the two-hour premiere of Season 22, Big Brother host Julie Chen reacted to the “strange” circumstances surrounding the safety precautions.

Julie Chen has been able to take anything thrown at her and embrace it, including the originally jeering nickname of “Chenbot” from the reality show’s early days. Now, she’s had to adjust to being up on the Big Brother stage without a live audience, while also not being able to come into contact with any of the show’s contestants. Here’s what she told EW about how it felt:

I can only imagine how bizarre it feels to be back at work in a whole new environment. Naturally, that feeling is understandable, considering the circumstances and the fact that everyone’s doing the best they can right now. However, it does kind of suck that Julie Chen, who's known to give the contestants hugs and visit the Big Brother house personally, can’t do any of that this season. That said, I also hope that the audience gets some “laughs” in this season, because it really has been a long five months in quarantine.

Despite all the new safety guidelines, Big Brother All-Stars seems to be firing on all cylinders so far. The show has a cool new house design and the All-Stars cast line-up is impressive. Who was Julie Chen most excited to see again of the contestants? That would be David. Chen says she loves his “positivity and quiet wisdom” and hopes that he makes it through to the end.

Big Brother All-Stars isn’t the only show to get underway with production. Jeopardy!, Wheel of Fortune, and Family Feud have all resumed filming. Over on the scripted side of television, CBS’ The Bold and the Beautiful has also picked back up with production. CW staples like The Flash and Riverdale are expected to resume filming soon, while Netflix’s The Witcher has set its filming return date for August 17.

Big Brother All-Stars premiered last night and there have been some notable changes this season, most of which have to do with ensuring the safety and health of the contestants and production crew. Of course, the one thing that hasn’t changed is Julie Chen’s return as resident host for the hit reality TV show. Looking back on her time hosting Big Brother, Chen recently revealed why she came off as being so “robotic” when the show first began.

Julie Chen has been a staple of Big Brother since the reality series first premiered in 2000, hosting every iteration of the show (Celebrity Big Brother, Big Brother: Over the Top) in the meantime. Two decades is a long time to spend in any given job, but it’s safe to say that Chen has evolved in her position as host over the years. However, the transition to hosting a reality competition series wasn’t very smooth at first. Here’s what Chen told EW Live on SiriusXM:

Cue the rimshot. Julie Chen did indeed come from a “news background,” as the now-host was the news anchor for CBS Morning News at the time of Big Brother’s premiere. The differences between the format and style of a reality show versus a news show must have been jarring to bounce between, to say the least.

Suffice it to say that the Big Brother All-Stars host has learned to “embrace the Chenbot” over the years as she got used to loosening up. A big part of finding the right balance between Julie Chen’s news personality and her reality TV personality was also helped along by the eight years she spent on The Talk. Does Chen cringe when looking back at old footage? Absolutely, but at least she’s gotten to a place where she can “laugh about it now.”

That said, Julie Chen doesn’t mince words and candidly revealed that it would have been “considered insubordination” if she hadn’t taken up hosting Big Brother at the time. Yikes! Naturally, she took the job and, considering that it was a long time ago, one can hope that she’s stayed on with the show for 20 years for reasons beyond how she initially landed the gig.

Big Brother All-Stars is no different, despite the show already being about a group of people in quarantine. With the reality TV series returning soon, a few key changes are being made in addition to everyone getting a few house design upgrades, and host Julie Chen offered insights into how Big Brother All-Stars is keeping its cast and crew safe while in the house.

Say goodbye to Julie Chen giving hugs and paying personal visits to the Big Brother house. The host recently discussed all the changes being made to ensure the safety of everyone involved with the show, and that includes her staying far away from the Big Brother All-Stars contestants throughout the season. Groceries will be disinfected in advance of direct deliveries to the contestants and, of course, the live audience will be non-existent. As for how the contestants will be able to live in the house together, Chen revealed how Big Brother All-Stars is going about that process. Here’s what she told ET:

Don't worry, Julie Chen is also being tested regularly. However, I’d wager that besides the testing and pre-quarantine measures, Big Brother All-Stars won’t look all that different to viewers from the outset, which is what producers are hoping for. Contestants hooking up and sharing space inside the Big Brother house will still be allowed, since they would’ve already been cleared before joining. Considering that we’re still very much in the throes of the pandemic, the safety protocols make absolute sense.

These safety guidelines will also be followed by the Big Brother All-Stars camera team and other crew members who won’t be living in the compound where the contestants are staying. Here’s how executive producer Rich Meehan explained it:

Well, that’s good to know. These protocols are working to limit cast/crew interactions, which is honestly the best way to go about it in order to keep everyone healthy, safe and comfortable, while also not estranging crew members from families. That’s not to say that the Big Brother All-Stars contestants won’t still hear the crew around the house, but they just won’t see them. Julie Chen concedes that the Big Brother house might be the one of the “safest places to be” right now. I’ll take her word for it.

Big Brother All-Stars is set to kick off this week, and it's going to be a historic season for many reasons. One of those reasons is tied to the premiere which, for the first time ever, will be a two-hour, live move-in and cast reveal. The premiere will look much different because of that and, while there will be lots of new stuff to see, there will also be some things that won't be seen.

This may seem concerning to the average Big Brother fan, but Big Brother All-Stars' executive producer Allison Grodner teased some exciting things. Grodner spoke to EW about the upcoming season and shared about what will and won't be seen when Season 22 makes its debut:

A Big Brother premiere without a diary room sounds like a huge change. Typically, the diary rooms are where viewers get some more personal thoughts from the players on how they feel about others in the house out the gate. Without them, there won't be a ton of opportunity for audiences to learn what's going on inside their heads, considering players are often only telling half-truths to others in the house while playing the game.

Audiences won't be entirely in the dark due to a lack of diary room, however, as Big Brother is not dealing with people entirely new to the experience. Alison Grodner explained that part of the reason this new format of the premiere is even possible is thanks to the cast:

Two hours seems like a lot of time for Big Brother All-Stars to fill on live television but, with the cast reveal going down, time should go fast for fans. I'm eager to see what new twist awaits these veteran players, especially given Allison Grodner alluded to some changes happening in the game out of necessity. As always, I'm expecting the unexpected, though I'm hoping, by premiere night, we all have some idea of what to expect from this new season.

It's official, Big Brother All-Stars is happening, and CBS has dropped the news along with a premiere date. The reality series has also laid out a rather extensive plan for how it will keep a clean and safe atmosphere on the set while filming, though there is one big question mark related to  Julie Chen. Chen has been the host of Big Brother since its start, but what will her role be for this upcoming season?

Based on what we know so far, Julie Chen will continue to host the show and the live eviction episodes as she has in the past. Unlike the past, however, the live evictions will be held without a studio audience, and that's about the only concrete details we have on that process. Typically an ousted houseguest would leave the house door, and walk out to the stage for an interview with Chen, but will COVID-19 protocols make that feasible?

Reports have shown the crew has found a way to stagger so they won't be on the set for 90 days, but there's reason to believe Julie Chen may not appear on set as she has in the past. Due to the live evictions happening weekly and the show's COVID protocols, one would think that Chen would need to be quarantined throughout the entire 90 days of the show to do things as she normally would.

That's quite an ask of Julie Chen, and one that I would imagine could be easily worked around if she's not wishing to do that. Perhaps Chen will be isolating at home under special protocols or will be conducting all hosting duties from the comfort of home and talking to contestants via webcam. Jeff Probst was able to do that with the Survivor: Winners At War finale, so Chen hosting from home is not out of the question.

Julie Chen's social media is no help in revealing what she's up to. She has mostly been off the grid since COVID-19 brought about a bunch of production shutdowns, though she did pop back on closer to the Big Brother All-Stars announcement to get fans excited.

I'm no horticulturist, but that shrubbery behind the coffee cup looks similar to a fake bush. Fake shrubs and other faux greenery is not at all rare in the Big Brother backyard, though again, I could be reaching here. There's no telling what Julie Chen has been up to in the weeks before the announcement, so we can only wait and see how and in what capacity she'll be able to participate during the season.

Big Brother All-Stars is set for a two-hour premiere on CBS on Wednesday, August 5 at 9:00 p.m. After that, expect new episodes of Season 22 on Sundays and Wednesdays at 8:00 p.m. ET, with the live eviction happening Thursdays at 8:00 p.m. ET. The day has finally come, Big Brother fans, when CBS has delivered the news that everyone has been waiting to hear for ages now. In the first place, Season 22 has officially been announced as the second-ever All-Stars edition, and though that was already common knowledge, we now know when we'll finally see it premiering in primetime, and it's coming soon. Big Brother All-Stars will debut on Wednesday, August 5, and that premiere sounds like it'll be a doozy.

For one thing, Season 22 is setting up its first episode to be a live move-in, which the reality franchise has basically only utilized for Big Brother: Over the Top, the streaming-only season that was exclusive to CBS All Access. That should be a great way to reconnect with champions and contestants of years past, many of which have been rumored, though CBS is still keeping that official cast list under wraps for now. The network did state that the full list of houseguests – which includes "winners, finalists, legends, memorable personalities, and some of the best to never win the game" – will be announced between now and the premiere date.

Fans can also look forward to three nights of Big Brother per week. Following the Wednesday premiere, Season 22 will settle into its regular pattern of Sunday nights, Wednesday nights and Thursday nights. The latter is when Julie Chen Moonves will be breaking hearts and confidences for live evictions as the contestant pool gets whittled down to a single $500,000 winner.

What isn't exactly clear is what the theme will be for Big Brother's next all-stars season. This is what was stated in the official announcement, and it's hard to tell if it's just a generic comment or if there's something more enigmatic about the wording.

Is everyone going to be moving into a courthouse this year, where they'll all be put on trial? That...doesn't seem likely. Nor does it seem like Big Brother will be crossing over with ABC's To Tell the Truth. So maybe it has something to do with the sights caught on film by that drone's flyover, or maybe it'll be something else entirely.

Obviously, this season of Big Brother is going to be quite different from past seasons due to safety precautions required as part of production restrictions being lifted. The all-star contestants are currently in quarantine mode for the two weeks prior to the live premiere (which won't have a studio audience), and they will also be tested for COVID-19 several times before being allowed to enter the house. Once inside, houseguests will have zero contact with camera operators and other crew members, while all the supplies received by the contestants will be disinfected.

On the flip side, crew members will also be tested accordingly, and will be screened for symptoms on a daily basis. They'll be working in individual pods to maintain proper social distancing, and wearing PPE will be a requirement for all. Certain crew members are also expected to be cycled out in order to spend time with family, after which they will re-quarantine themselves before returning to work.

Big Brother recently celebrated 20 years on television, somewhat ironically at a point where the CBS reality series isn't actually able to air episodes when it normally would. The lack of houseguests being shut off from the rest of the world (for non-pandemic reasons) has sent the fandom in a tizzy, and has led to some rampant speculation about when Season 22 will finally air. But believe it or not, that hyper-kinetic fandom didn't always exist.

With all the chaos of the last few weeks, it may be surprising for some to learn there wasn't always a time where Big Brother was as beloved as it is now. Julie Chen spoke to Entertainment Tonight about some of the show's most shocking moments over the years, and she admitted that she'd never expected the show to reach this level of obsession considering the rather subdued way Season 1 was received. In her words:

Not even Julie Chen seemed to understand Big Brother at the start, which is understandable. Survivor was more or less the new hot commodity for reality TV competitions, having premiered only two months prior. And despite the fact that the two shows relied on challenges and eliminations, Survivor was and is a wildly different show than Big Brother in so many ways even beyond tropical settings.

It's also worth noting that Season 1 of Big Brother was much different than what the series currently looks like. Critics called that inaugural season boring, which some would later blame on the overly safe casting for the contestants. There was very little tension in the house, especially compared to predecessors like The Real World.

There was even a point in which Big Brother competitors talked of organizing a massive walkout amid fears they weren't being accurately portrayed on television. Even Julie Chen was criticized for even being associated with the show due to her career and connections at CBS News, with 60 Minutes' Andy Rooney calling the decision a "further deterioration of news standards."

Obviously, audience reception has improved in big ways over the years, and just like Survivor is still on the air, Big Brother continues rolling strong each year. Season 22 has widely been rumored to be an all-star season, though the only real news we have on the season comes from credible sources and not CBS itself. This kind of rampant speculation isn't something viewers would've cared about nearly as much following Season 1, but after 21 seasons, there are some superfans going a bit crazy with no details having been confirmed.

Unfortunately, Julie Chen herself had no new information to share in regards to Big Brother Season 22, which is disappointing. The current belief is that the series may finally premiere sometime in August, so fans have been hoping to hear some official news from Chen or CBS in recent days, but have been let down with each passing week.

Big Brother Season 22 is supposedly still happening on CBS this summer, but continue to stick with CinemaBlend for more on the reality series, and for the latest news happening in the world of television and movies.

Ever since it was teased that Season 22 of Big Brother could be an all-star season, speculation has been rampant about who will be participating. There have been leaks, teases, and even fan wish lists spread all over the internet and, now, we have another first. Controversial Big Brother Season 15 winner Andy Herren has confirmed that he has not been contacted yet by the show for Season 22, and he's bitter about it.

Herren took to social media amidst all the rumors and speculation about Big Brother and, regardless of whether or not the all-star season is legit, he has not been contacted. Andy Herren believes he's an all-star player, and alleged to followers he's as good if not better than some of the other winners that have been rumored to be participating:

As he mentioned in the tweet above, Andy Herren believes that being gay hurt his popularity and made CBS less likely to give him a favorable edit in Big Brother Season 15's televised episodes. If given the opportunity, Herren seems to think he'd mop the floor with some of the show's best but understands the chances of him getting contacted may even be less than 0 at the moment.

As Big Brother fans may know, Season 15 was shrouded in controversy after several instances of racism amongst contestants throughout the season. Herren and many other contestants ended up losing their real-life jobs for their remarks, and others were so bad they lost their jobs while the show was airing. Herren acknowledged Season 15 was problematic but had a counter to that argument:

Herren is right that Season 15 is not the only season in which Big Brother has had to deal with allegations of racism or homophobia. Much like with those seasons, CBS faced criticism from viewers for editing out some racism fans heard in the live stream footage of the show and attempting to paint the offenders in a more positive light in the televised episodes.

And while it is true that Big Brother must often address some level of racism or sexism in a season, the amount found in Season 15 was quite staggering. Several members of the cast were called out by viewers for their racist words or actions, though Andy Herren was admittedly under the radar in terms of coverage as opposed to other offenders. Even so, Herren confessed he wasn't blameless for his actions in the season either but argued he's atoned for those mistakes:

There are a lot of unknowns about Big Brother Season 22, though Andy Herren's tweets may be confirmation that players from Season 15 will not be welcomed back. Of course, nothing has been confirmed about Season 22 at the moment, so the best viewers can do is continue to speculate and wait for that official cast list to be revealed.

What in the name of Chenbot is happening with Celebrity Big Brother 2020? Should we assume CBS silently cancelled it -- like The Hitmen taking out everyone in BB16? I fully expected Celebrity Big Brother Season 3 to air this winter on CBS. Fans waited so long for the U.S. to get its own version of Celebrity Big Brother, and the first two seasons seemed to go well enough to justify a third. No?

CBS's schedule would suggest no but Julie Chen keeps teasing Big Brother fans about something, so either she's just a heartless troll or we're getting some good news.

Celebrity Big Brother Season 1 aired from February 7 to February 25, 2018. Season 2 aired from January 21 to February 13, 2019. But CBS released its winter 2020 schedule and there's no mention of Celebrity Big Brother. There was no renewal announcement.

Also, when CBS did renew Big Brother for Season 22 in summer 2020, Deadline reported that Julie Chen had signed on to return as host. The site delved into issues with her contract, since she is not only married to ousted CBS boss Les Moonves, she made a point to add his last name to her own on every episode of Big Brother. But Julie Chen is back for Big Brother 22 ... just not Celebrity Big Brother 3?

Deadline's report from the September 2019 renewal of Big Brother 2020 noted there was no official word at the time about Celebrity Big Brother Season 3. But the site did add this hint: "However, while not totally dead, all indications are that CBB will not be on the CBS calendar in 2020. The spinoff was not a part of Chen Moonves’ new package with the network." As we now know, Celebrity Big Brother was in indeed not on the 2020 calendar. And I can't imagine anyone else would be hosting it if not Julie Chen.

So ... Celebrity Big Brother is dead? If so, why? Did CBS just want more room on the schedule for something else? CBB had shortened seasons, only 13 episodes as opposed to the whole summer like the main show, but it did air across several episodes each week. Maybe after trying it twice, CBS decided it wasn't worth it? It would be nice to hear something official.

It would also be nice to hear from Julie Chen on what she's doing with her many Twitter teases.

Julie Chen keeps tweeting things with Big Brother backgrounds, and she posted several GIFs of past houseguests. Was she in fact teasing future HGs for Big Brother All-Stars? We know Survivor 40 is doing an all winners season this winter 2020. Is CBS maybe continuing the all-stars theme from there to Big Brother? Whatever she's really doing, Chen seems to be enjoying torturing Big Brother fans. After countless requests to spill the tea, she instead tweeted out this:

Not sure why she chose to share that in November 2019, but she's definitely keeping Big Brother on the brain.

Some Big Brother fans are still grumbling about summer 2019's BB21, which gave the win to controversial Jackson Michie. Celebrity Big Brother Season 2, on the other hand, gave a unanimous win to Tamar Braxton and most fans seemed happy about that. It's sad that we don't seem to be continuing that still relatively new tradition.

In the last 19 years since the show originally aired in the USA, Big Brother has become a huge summer success, averaging a 1.5 rating in the 18 to 49 demographic. Along with a huge viewership, Big Brother has become one of the biggest social media TV topics. With such a huge and active fan base, Big Brother fans have many opinions, especially about current and former Big Brother winners.

Last September, the Big Brother 21 jury crowned Jackson Michie the latest Big Brother winner. Michie left his season of Big Brother with a controversial win, but he was far from the first Big Brother winner surrounded by controversy. Over the past 21 seasons, Big Brother has had a lot of contestants and winners that won fame, and some infamy, during their run on the hit CBS reality series.

We listed these 10 Big Brother winners because they were memorable players -- either for controversial reasons, show-stopping gameplay, or just for being popular Big Brother players.

Maggie Ausburn (Season 6)

Maggie Ausburn won Big Brother 6. She was the leader of The Friendship, also known as the Nerd Herd. Big Brother 6 had one of the most divided houses in Big Brother history. Half the house was part of Maggie’s Friendship, and the other half was part of the Sovereign Six alliance. Big Brother 6 was one of the most popular seasons of the series because of the cast of characters, like fan favorite Janelle Pierzina. Maggie was such a memorable winner because she was one of the rare players who fans considered a Big Brother villain that won the entire season. It was also one of the most explosive seasons, so emotions ran high inside and outside the game all summer.

Josh Martinez (Season 19)

Josh Martinez won Big Brother 19. During his season, Josh made a name for himself for his emotional outbursts and antics. He eventually became a triple threat with Christmas Abbott and Paul Abrahamian. Josh beat Paul in the final two by a narrow 5-4 vote. Josh's win became so memorable because it divided the Big Brother community; half believed that the Big Brother 19 jury robbed Paul out of another victory, and the other half were excited to see Josh take the win. Josh Martinez has continued to bring his big personality to the reality TV world appearing as a regular cast mate on MTV’s The Challenge.

Jordan Lloyd (Season 11)

Jordan Lloyd became the 11th Big Brother winner in 2009, and she then appeared on Big Brother 13 in 2011. Jordan won the admiration of millions as a young North Carolina sweetheart. Fans not only became invested in Jordan because of her nice girl persona, but because of her showmance with fellow contestant Jeff Schroeder. Jordan and Jeff became a huge Big Brother power couple, even appearing on other CBS reality shows like The Amazing Race. Jordan may have retired from the reality television business, as she seems focused on raising her two children with husband Jeff.

Mike "Boogie" Malin (Season 7)

Mike “Boogie” Malin made his Big Brother debut in Big Brother Season 2. He then returned for Big Brother: All-Stars/Big Brother 7, where he won the entire season. Mike/Boogie also made his third appearance on Big Brother 14 as a coach who became a player. Big Brother fans know Mike best for his loud personality and friendship with Big Brother 2 winner Dr. Will Kirby. Dr. Will and Boogie formed the Chilltown alliance, one of the most popular alliances in Big Brother history. In Big Brother 2, Mike had a short house stay, being voted out in week 4. During Big Brother: All-Stars, Mike seemed determined to win, so with the help of his mastermind best friend, he was able to ride the Chilltown wave to victory. Mike wasn’t as successful in Big Brother 14, being evicted in week 6.

Rachel Reilly (Season 13)

Rachel Reilly won Big Brother 13, having previously appeared on Big Brother 12. She has often returned to the Big Brother world as a host of competitions and just for cameo moments. Rachel started her Big Brother 12 journey as a bold character that became the main target for many of the other BB12 houseguests. Rachel's personality made a big splash, but her romance with Brendon Villegas also didn’t help her case. The Big Brother 12 houseguests evicted Rachel in week 5. Season 13 of Big Brother was Rachel’s redemption story. She took home the BB13 crown, and she ended up marrying Brendon. Now, Rachel and Brendon have one daughter, but that hasn’t completely stopped them from visiting the reality TV world. Rachel made her third appearance on The Amazing Race in 2019.

Evel Dick Donato (Season 8)

Evel Dick Donato won Big Brother 8. This season involved rivals, so the Big Brother producers cast him alongside his estranged daughter Dani Donato. Evel Dick and Dani returned on Big Brother 13 as part of the duo twist, but he had to leave early due to health issues. On Big Brother 8, Evel Dick was supposed to be a villain character, due to his no-nonsense personality, but Dick quickly became a fan favorite because of his love of the game, and his quest to repair his relationship with his daughter, as well as keep them in the game together. Dick and Dani ended up in the final two together, and the Season 8 Big Brother jury crowned Evel Dick the winner by a 5-2 vote. Since leaving Big Brother, Dick has started his own Big Brother/reality TV talk show called Dick At Nite, which often features former Big Brother contestants.

Jun Song (Season 4)

Jun Song won the fourth season of Big Brother. She appeared on the season with her ex, Jee Choe. Jun surprised everyone by forming a secret alliance with her rival Allison Irwin, which helped them make it to the final two together. Jun beat Allison by a 6-1 vote in the finals. Fans most remember Jun for her wit, game adaptability, and ruthless game play. Many credit Jun with creating the floater strategy. Jun also became the first winner of color on American Big Brother, and remained the only racial minority winner until Josh Martinez won in Big Brother 19.

Derrick Levasseur (Season 16)

Derrick Levasseur took home the Big Brother winner crown during Big Brother 16. Derrick successfully managed to hide his true profession (an undercover cop) all season. He also made Big Brother history by only being nominated by default during the Big Brother 16 finale. Derrick, along with his Hitmen partner Cody Calafiore, easily manipulated his fellow houseguests into complete trust. This led to fans labeling him as one of the greatest Big Brother strategists of all-time. Derrick has made several returns to the Big Brother stage to offer his insight into the game. Currently, he hosts an investigation show for Investigation Discovery (I.D) called Breaking Homicide.

Dan Gheesling (Season 10)

Dan Gheesling won Big Brother 10. He also appeared as a coach-turned-contestant during the fourteenth season of Big Brother. Dan is one of the most popular Big Brother winners, often labeled as one of the greatest players in the show’s history. In Big Brother 10, Dan used his honest, humble persona to manipulate his fellow houseguests, while having a little fun at their expense. Dan mimicked many of his season 10 strategies during Big Brother 14, but he didn’t have the same success, only finishing in second place this time. Dan was the first player to make it to the final two twice, Paul Abrahamian is the only other player to have this honor. Dan was also the only Big Brother winner to receive a unanimous victory vote until Tamar Braxton in Celebrity Big Brother 2.

Will Kirby (Season 2)

Dr. Will Kirby won Big Brother 2, and played during Big Brother: All-Stars. Dr. Will’s bold antics and charm helped him escape eviction many times, even without a competition win. Many fans credit him with helping to make the show such a big success in Season 2 and beyond. In Big Brother: All-Stars, Will used his manipulative skills and humor to help his best friend Mike “Boogie” Malin win the season. Will Kirby often returns to the Big Brother world to host the annual jury roundtable, where he moderates a conversation to help that season’s jury members decide on who to crown the latest winner. Besides appearing on Big Brother, Will has appeared on other reality shows as an aesthetic dermatologist, including The Doctors, Dr. 90201, and Shahs of Sunset.

Big Brother 21 was a whirlwind season, and if there were some fans still worn out from the drama, intensity, and manifesting, it wouldn't be surprising. With that said anyone still feeling burnt out on Big Brother better find a way to shake it off, because host Julie Chen is up on social media teasing something regarding the franchise.

The tease came from the hostess' social media, in which Chen shared a picture that seemed to be of the show's diary room. The caption featured a couple emojis, and has sent the Big Brother fandom into a frenzy of speculation.

This straight up looks like a picture that was taken on accident, and if it weren't for the eyes and the winking emoji one may think this was some accidental upload by Julie Chen. The timing of the post is interesting, and has led many to believe that this is a subtle tease that Big Brother is coming back before its summer slot. Does this mean we're getting a return of one of the spinoffs?

It certainly feels that way, though fans are arguing amongst themselves on which it will be. Celebrity Big Brother could be getting another season considering it recently ran in the U.S. back in 2018. Others have wondered if this picture is signaling the return of Big Brother: Over The Top, which was the CBS All Access exclusive series that aired for one season back in 2016.

There are even some fans who believe Julie Chen is teasing something for the 2020 season, possibly the return of an All-Stars season. There have been a few Big Brother alumni who've wanted that to happen, and a few who may still be crossing their fingers and hoping that's the case after Chen's post on social media.

While we have no information one way or another, it does seem most probable that this could be the tease that Big Brother is coming back for another winter season. It feels a little too early ahead of Season 22 to be teasing themes for the season, but the perfect time to be announcing an unexpected season that will hit during the lull period in fall.

Again though, it's really hard to speculate given all these predictions and theories are rooted in a picture Julie Chen snapped of the space behind the diary room chair. Was she just highlighting the back area behind the couch is a bit dirty and needs to be cleaned? Maybe that was where Jackson was hiding all those snacks in Season 21? Hopefully the meaning behind this mysterious picture is unveiled soon enough.

5 Ways CBS Can Fix Big Brother After 2019 Mess

Jack Matthews is in the hot seat yet again for race-related comments made in the Big Brother 21 house. CBS isn't going to kick Jack out, but will he be evicted for it, or for anything? Honestly, probably not. But we'll see.

UPDATE: After Jack was evicted, Julie Chen confronted Jack about his comments in the house, including calling Kemi dogshit. He said his "stomp a mudhole" comment about Kemi was a take on what Sam had said last season. He said his comments were playful for a group of people. He also tried to clarify that his "rice pudding" comment had nothing to do with Bella and was connected to a slop recipe from that week. However, he did apologize for the Kemi insults, saying "I think Kemi is and was a great person. Being in 24 hour view of people, you say things. I wouldn't say that I fully support the things that I said. If I could take them back, I would."

Jack is currently on the block, and he was Head of Household Cliff Hogg III's target. However, Jackson Michie won the Power of Veto, and Cliff made a deal with Christie Murphy -- who has the Panic Power/Diamond Power of Veto -- so instead of Cliff putting up a pawn next to Jack at the Veto ceremony, Cliff did what Christie wanted and nominated Isabella Wang. Bella is now a backdoor target for the majority of the house.

So it's Bella vs. Jack for eviction this Thursday, July 25, and that's the background context for this hammock conversation between Tommy Bracco, Kathryn Dunn, Analyse Talavera, Jack, and Christie. Tommy says something about how the proof is in the pudding, and Jack jumps in with "the rice pudding." Tommy and the others tried to cover that with "the slop pudding," but fans noticed the not-so-subtle slur against Chinese-American houseguest Bella.

TMZ also picked up on the comment. It was not the first time Jack had said something like that, and apparently production talked to him about it -- yet again. Here's a scene with Christie and Tommy (who knew each other before going into this season) and Jessica Milagros, with Christie discussing the hammock conversation. She said "it was brought up," meaning by production in the diary room. When she mentioned the hammock talk, Tommy immediately said "pudding," which suggests he knew on some level that what Jack said was sketchy.

Tommy and Christie acted like it never occurred to them that Jack's "rice pudding" comment could've been taken "out of context" to be racist. The "Holly" Christie mentioned is someone in production, not the Holly Allen playing the game. So it sounds like Christie was asked to comment in the DR and she said she didn't want to comment on it because she didn't think Jack meant it like that. Which begs the question: How did she think he meant it? Is there another secret context to rice pudding that we don't know about? I'm serious. Is rice pudding some kind of in-joke with this group? 'Cause otherwise...

This is not the first time Jack has said something many viewers considered racist. Remember his conversation with Jackson Michie about David, when Jack dropped the n-word?

Jack also really seemed to hate Kemi Fakunle, repeatedly taking shots at her and at one point saying this:

Jack likes to pass off his comments as "just kidding," but his humor is not sitting well with viewers. Also, since Jack's latest comment was directed at an Asian houseguest, some fans are wondering how Julie Chen-Moonves will feel. She, like Bella, is Chinese-American.

And all of this ugliness is on top of the other bullying that has been happening in the house. Not to mention Jackson being on slop but still finding ways to eat regular food.

Some fans wanted Bella to be expelled after her fight with Kemi, but more fans would love to see Jack out of the house. Not only is he coasting at the top of The Six Shooters majority alliance, he keeps making these snide race-related "jokes."

Here's my question: Now that production has gotten involved to the point that they asked Christie about it, and she spread the news to Tommy and Jess, will they try to salvage their own reputations by voting out Jack? They know by now -- or they should, from this at the very least -- that Jack is not coming off well to live feeds viewers and now there's potential that it will be shown on TV. This is not the first time Jack/Jackson have been talked to by production.

It takes a lot to be expelled from Big Brother, and no one has been expelled to date for racist comments. Threats, on the other hand, are not OK but they usually give you a warning first. Bella may have also just gotten a warning after her fight with Kemi.

But you don't have to wait for Jack to be expelled if you want him out. Will the house turn against Jack this week and vote him out instead of Bella? Bella is no saint, and she has rubbed people in the house the wrong way, but keeping Jack around could be interpreted as being complicit in his repeated behavior. Is that something houseguests will be OK with?

Big Brother viewers have noticed that the minority houseguests have been banished and targeted for eviction in the 2019 season. David Alexander, Ovi Kabir, and Kemi were the first three HGs evicted and all three are not white. Cliff, who is white but also the only older houseguest, was the next evicted, and he won his way right back in after about 10 minutes and is now HoH. Now it looks like Bella will be the next HG to be evicted, and she just happens to not be white either, and also happens to not have the opportunity to walk right back in the door like Cliff did.

Big Brother is a social experiment as much as it is a game, and putting Houseguests from all walks of life into a house is part of what has made the show a lasting success. Unfortunately, there are times where the social experiment can collapse, and producers must step in and expel a Houseguest for one reason or another. So far, there are five instances of that happening in 25 seasons, with each situation being wildly different than the previous.

Below, we’ll get into all of the times Big Brother was forced to expel a Houseguest, as well as provide the moment viewers can check out the drama with their Paramount+ subscription. Let’s dive in, and revisit these unfortunate moments where “expecting the unexpected” turned out to be a very bad motto. 

Justin Sebik, Big Brother 2

The second season of Big Brother set a precedent for what was not OK in the house. Justin Sebik was expelled on Day 10 of the 2001 season due to violent behavior -- including smashing glass bottles and a chess set, urinating on a window, and threatening to punch another houseguest. Many of those things would be worthy of expulsion in modern Big Brother, but reality television was a different time in its infancy. The final straw was an incident with fellow houseguest Krista Stegall, when they were both under the influence of alcohol. They had just been kissing, when he put a knife to her throat and said, "Hang on, I'm going to slash your throat. Would you get mad if I just killed you?" Justin later said he was just "joking," but it was enough to get him kicked off the show.

CBS spokesman Gil Schwartz told the Washington Post that Justin had engaged in "violent talk" with other contestants and had previously been warned about his conduct. "He was evicted because the producers felt ... he was engaging in activity that could be interpreted as threatening. The producers wanted to err on the side of safety." Krista later sued CBS over the incident, claiming the network should've done a better job screening Justin before casting him and also should've ejected him sooner. That was a pretty obvious instance of going too far, but ever since then there's been debate on where the line is.

Justin was arrested following his expulsion following an altercation with an ex-girlfriend that resulted in her breaking her ankle and having choke marks around her neck according to Huron Daily Tribune. Anecdotal reports online have since noted that Justin changed his ways, but he doesn’t have a huge social media presence for much confirmation (via The Cinemaholic). 

Scott Weintraub, Big Brother 4

Big Brother's 2003 season included the X-Factor twist, with the surprise addition of houseguests' exes in the game. Scott Weintraub was not happy to see his ex-girlfriend Amanda Craig enter the house. He went off about it. He was also intimidating to other houseguests and threw chairs around the house. Those looking to see the eviction can watch Season 4, Episode 4 on Paramount+. 

Former CBS chairman and CEO Les Moonves weighed in on Scott's expulsion, saying it was because he was violent and throwing chairs, and "people were afraid for their safety." The only reason Moonves -- host Julie Chen's husband -- weighed in (via Reality TV World) was to deny rumors that Scott was removed from Big Brother because he had a previously undisclosed STD and that was what houseguests were more upset about.

Scott Weintraub’s expulsion is a case of a Big Brother twist gone wrong, as clearly, casting his ex was a large catalyst to this massive blowup. Scott was ultimately responsible for his own actions, but there are definitely risks taken by the production team when deliberately casting two people who may not be on good terms. 

Chima Simone, Big Brother 11

The expulsion of Chima shows that you don't have to get physically violent to be expelled from Big Brother. Chima habitually blew off instructions from Big Brother on the speaker, among other things. She was especially upset after Jessie's eviction due to a twist. She felt the producers were manipulating the game and started blowing off rules. This included frequently ignoring production’s request for her to go to the diary room to record her sessions, as well as refusing to put on her mic pack at various points in the day. 

Things came to a head when Chima joined the other HGs in the backyard for a practice comp run. Big Brother came over the speakers to ask Chima to please put on her microphone. She ignored that and said she didn't give a bleep. Her fellow HGs went and got her mic for her and handed it to her. She took it, then threw it across the backyard, where it landed in the pool. Chima's friends in the house still tried to get her to just put on a mic. She eventually did it, then took it off again. Later she refused to go to the Diary Room, and EP Allison Grodner herself got involved to kick Chima out. Paramount+ subscribers can rewatch the whole incident by watching Season 11, Episode 18.

Chima clearly disrespected the rules of Big Brother, but it's still interesting to see what's considered OK. Several houseguests have broken rules since that point, and they have not been expelled. And several houseguests have acted inappropriately with touching and threats and not been expelled.

Willie Hantz, Big Brother 14

We knew Willie was trouble when he walked in. He's the brother of Survivor villain Russell Hantz and uncle of Survivor's – just as controversial – Brandon Hantz. Willie was the first Head of Household winner in the 2012 Big Brother Season 14. However, he was expelled on Day 14, right after his HoH tenure ended. Willie threw pork rinds at Janelle Pierzina, and called people nasty names, but what got him thrown out was his physical fight with Joe Arvin.

The fight started with Willie muttering, to no one in particular, "Bunch of pussies in this bitch." Joe, who had just walked by, casually replied, "You're the only pussy I see, bro." Willie jumped up to follow him and confront him, yelling, "What's that? What'd you say? Hit me! Hit me!" But Willie was the one to charge Joe and push him.

Joe called it a headbutt, but you can see in the video that Willie basically chest-charged him. Those looking to see how it all played out can revisit the episode by checking out Season 14, Episode 5 over on Paramount +. It’s certainly worth a watch, especially for fans who want a rare cameo from Big Brother producer Allison Grodner. 

Luke Valentine, Big Brother 25

After years of controversy, specifically, those involving accusations of racism, Big Brother decided to make a change. A pledge for increased diversity resulted in fewer seasons with a white majority of Houseguests, and a zero-tolerance policy for racism was implemented for all Houseguests. Use of racial slurs would result in immediate expulsion, but that wasn’t needed until Season 25 with Houseguest Luke Valentine. 

Luke casually uttered the n-word during a conversation with Houseguests late at night. The following morning, Big Brother pulled him from the game. Luke later posted memes about the incident on his Instagram page but later removed his social media. Those looking to revisit the moment will need to check out Season 25, Episode 4. 

Those are the five expulsions the U.S. version of Big Brother has seen in 25 seasons so far. As much as they can impact and change the original plans of the season, sometimes it’s for the best.

Is Big Brother 21 giving us a new twist on the Big Brother 6 twist? Fans have sleuthed that some pairs of 2019 houseguests may already know each other. At least one of the pre-season connections is 100%. Big Brother Season 21 premieres with a summer camp theme this Tuesday, June 25 on CBS, and maybe that's when Julie Chen will reveal a twist to the season connecting the pairs.

If it's not part of a twist ... it's kind of an unfair advantage. Not that Big Brother really cares about fair. It's just hard to imagine they didn't know about any connections before casting.

In Big Brother 6, back in 2005, every houseguest had a secret partner in the game, someone they had a pre-existing relationship with in one form or another.

After the Big Brother 21 cast was revealed on June 17, fans started piecing some things together. The most obvious connection is between Christie and Tommy, since there are social media posts tying them, and Christie reportedly dated Tommy's aunt:

There's also talk that Kathryn and Holly might know each other, and maybe a college connection between Jackson and Ovi. There was talk of maybe a tie between Bella and Jack, but that one seems to be the biggest stretch. (Holly also previously dated The Bachelorette's Luke Pell, but that's a whole other connection.)

Some Big Brother fans think the show wouldn't do another pairs twist, but they did the twin twist more than once, so why not? If not, then it would be strange to just have Christie and Tommy know each other and no one else. Yeah, they've had relatives on the show before, but this wouldn't even qualify -- it's not like twins, or sisters like Morgan/Alex in Big Brother: Over the Top.

There are always rumors before a season of Big Brother, and before the 2019 cast was announced, there was talk that the producers were considering a season where eight houseguests -- half the cast -- were returning players. There was even talk of having a showmance theme, bringing back some houseguests who are still together (like Haleigh and Fessy). It's possible some of that idea carried over into the final cast for BB21, with a few connections still to be revealed?

The cast list for the upcoming season of Celebrity Big Brother has been released, and it's absolutely bonkers. That may sound like an exaggeration, but audiences who have yet to see the wild lineup of actors, athletes, political advisors, and others that will all share a home on the reality series will certainly understand after checking out Julie Chen's shared video.

As Joey Lawrence's iconic character Joey Russo would say, "Whoa." He's one of a few actors this season to warrant that reaction, as Lawrence is joined by Mean Girls' Jonathan Bennett and Kato Kaelin. Of course, actor may not be the most obvious thing folks tie Kaelin to, as he really gained national attention as a witness in the O.J. Simpson murder trial.

That addition alone would make any lineup bonkers, but of course, Celebrity Big Brother wasn't finished there. Lindsay Lohan's mother Dina Lohan, controversial Olympic swimmer Ryan Lochte, and former White House Director of Communications Anthony Scaramucci are really going to make Celebrity Big Brother must-watch television. The stories alone from that bunch will have audiences on the edge of their seat, which is probably what CBS is hoping by grabbing this colorful cast of characters.

There's something exciting to say about the entire cast, of course, as Celebrity Big Brother also welcomes Lolo Jones, Natalie Eva Marie, Kandi Burress, Tamar Braxton, Ricky Williams, and Tom Green. When Green is one of the latter mentions of the cast, viewers should know Celebrity Big Brother is going to be a thrill ride from start to finish.

The celebrities are only part of the reason to watch Celebrity Big Brother, however, as Julie Chen returns to CBS after some speculated she was done with the franchise. There was tension between Chen and CBS in the past year, as her husband Les Moonves was removed by the network amid sexual assault allegations. Chen notoriously made headlines via Big Brother last year by referring to herself by her married name as a show of support for her husband.

All this builds towards a season of Celebrity Big Brother that could take some interesting turns. One has to imagine the O.J. trial will be discussed at some point, but what about Lochtegate, working for the President, or life with Lindsay Lohan? A conversation about all of the above while Tom Green moderates in a deer carcass would be ideal, and create a season that will make it awfully hard to top should CBS do another season of the spinoff.

In case you missed the news, Dancing with the Stars judge Carrie Ann Inaba officially joined The Talk this week as one of its new co-hosts, replacing the already exited Julie Chen. Inaba, who has long been a guest co-host on the chat show, had a touching reaction to the news when she got the call. In her words:

By joining The Talk, Carrie Ann Inaba is officially replacing outgoing host Julie Chen, who announced her exit back in September after news that her husband Les Moonves was ousted as CBS CEO. The reveal that she cried after being given the news demonstrates how invested Carrie Ann Inaba has been in staying on the daytime show. Another sign The Talk is lucky to have her on it, I'd say.

Given how long she has been guest-hosting for The Talk, Carrie Ann Inaba's transition into being Julie Chen's front-and-center replacement should be a mostly smooth one. The positive relationships she has developed with her fellow hosts can be inferred from her emotional reaction.

It was only a couple of months ago when co-host Eve opened up about how Chen's departure had changed the show. Chen was one of only three of original co-hosts still on The Talk when she exited. In the wake of that departure, Sara Gilbert and Sharon Osbourne became the only co-hosts from Season 1 to remain on the chat-fest, as Sheryl Underwood joined The Talk in its second season.

Until Carrie Ann Inaba joined the show, Eve was the most recent addition, having joined The Talk in Season 8. Inaba is now the newest member of the show, and she sounds more than excited to be there.

Since The Talk took its time letting Carrie Ann Inaba get settled in with the other women, the group has gotten to know each other well. That will come in handy as the panel ventures into a fresh year that will undoubtedly be filled with its share of hot topics.

Based on Carrie Ann Inaba's reaction, she is excited for what lies ahead. Upon the announcement, her new official co-hosts reacted with equal enthusiasm over Inaba joining The Talk. So, there is a lot of mutual affection between the co-hosts.

On The Talk, Sharon Osbourne praised Inaba for helping pull the group together in the wake of the previous months. It is a telling sign that Carrie Ann Inaba is a team player.

The cast of The Talk has had to deal with some major changes recently. Back in September, Julie Chen announced her decision to leave the show. With a month having passed since then, co-host Eve opened up about how Chen's exit has altered The Talk. Eve said:

Big Brother doesn't appear to be in any danger of cancellation at the moment, even if it hasn't gotten another renewal, so provided these reports are accurate, Chen will likely be hosting the reality series for the foreseeable future.

Although fans would undoubtedly have liked to see Chen in-studio for her farewell to The Talk and actually interacting with the co-hosts, her message was quite touching. At least those who kept up with the latest news on Chen were probably aware both that she was leaving and that she would say goodbye with a taped message rather than a final episode as co-host.

Despite the fact that Julie Chen was an institution at The Talk by virtue of her presence on the show from the very beginning, it's not altogether shocking that she decided to leave the series. She has supported Les Moonves after the allegations against him, even going so far as to show solidarity with him on a recent live episode of Big Brother, when she signed off with "I'm Julie Chen Moonves" rather than her usual "I'm Julie Chen." Given that Moonves will likely be a topic of discussion at The Talk if the situation continues to unfold, co-hosting likely would have been uncomfortable for Chen.

As for Les Moonves, he has denied the allegations against him, even after he was ousted from CBS. His departure from the network and now Julie Chen's decision to leave The Talk may mean that a lot of the buzz surrounding the story may die down, and we may not get any more commentary from the likes of Stephen Colbert and more. We'll have to wait and see. The good news for fans of Julie Chen is that she is as of now remaining on board as host of Big Brother in the fall TV lineup.

She was one of several hosts of The Talk; Big Brother wouldn't be able to just move on without Chen on board. The impact of Les Moonves' departure will undoubtedly continue to be felt, even after Julie Chen's departure from The Talk. A number of big names in showbiz felt compelled to speak out about him after the sexual misconduct allegations first broke, ranging from Stephen Colbert of CBS' The Late Show to sitcom success story Chuck Lorre. CBS could be quite different in the coming months and years. As of now, we can only be 100% positive that The Talk will look different without Julie Chen.

Many have wondered whether Moonves' ousting would prompt Chen to take action, and the latest episode of Big Brother revealed how she decided to go about it. Now, if you're not a regular viewer of Big Brother, Chen's sign-off probably didn't strike you as anything especially noteworthy. Many women take their husband's name after they marry, and it's not exactly a secret that she and the former CBS boss were married. Big Brother fans know differently, however, as this marked the first time Chen added the "Moonves" to her name when she signed off an episode. The Jury House plays such a vital role in the endgame of Big Brother that it's a wonder CBS hasn't tried to feature it and the ousted contestants in a separate spinoff show. Fans that have had that idea aren't alone, as host Julie Chen admitted she to has wondered and even pitched the idea for a secondary show that goes into the goings on of the house. Unfortunately, the host said CBS didn't bite, and explained why what sounds like such an obvious idea hasn't happened yet:

Julie Chen is sticking to that classic adage of "never say never," and gave rampant Big Brother fans hope during her chat with EW that there will one day at least be a live feed that showcases the goings on of the jury house. That said, it would appear that's not happening until CBS finds a way to make it cost-effective, as setting up two programs that air simultaneously could theoretically double the cost of the show's production. That's quite a price jump considering the current status quo, which might be why executives have balked at what would initially seem like a no-brainer decision.

After all, life in the Jury House can't be as entertaining as what's seen on Big Brother. For starters, the jurors only slowly funnel into the private home, so if a spinoff were to kick off at the exact same time, it wouldn't be a huge party of people hanging out. In addition to that, the house is full of people who, minus the occasional Big Brother where an ousted member can return, have no chance of winning. One can assume spirits are pretty low from cast members who get evicted, and the resulting mopiness wouldn't make for the most entertaining television. That said, some Big Brother fans are the types willing to pour through hours of live feeds to catch one wild moment, so maybe CBS can just set up the cameras next season and let them decide whether or not it's worth exploring further.

Well, this is huge news for fans of the CBS reality show Big Brother. For the first time, after 19 seasons of the series, a celebrity version of the show will air. You will have a little while to wait, though, as this special edition of Big Brother won't air until winter 2018. Cue those live feed cameras.

The announcement was made tonight by Julie Chen at the end of the live eviction episode of Big Brother. Julie Chen is also going to host the celebrity edition of the show, which will come before Big Brother airs its milestone 20th season next summer, likely sometime between January and April of 2018. This spinoff will air on CBS, and, much like the original series, run multiple times per week with live evictions and Power of Veto and Head of Household competitions. Viewers can also tune in to CBS' streaming platform, CBS All Access, to watch coverage of the celebrities 24/7 with the live feed. And, if fans want even more of Celebrity Big Brother, Pop TV will offer fans Big Brother After Dark, a totally unfiltered feed from inside the house during the late night hours.

While this will be the first edition of Celebrity Big Brother in the United States, the U.K. has now had 20 editions of the show, which started airing in 2001. As could be expected, most of the celebrities on that show are mainly known in the U.K., but celebrities like Brigitte Nielsen, Jackie Stallone (Sylvester Stallone's mother), Dennis Rodman, Traci Bingham, Jermaine Jackson and Brandi Glanville have appeared on the show during different seasons.

Big Brother, which famously follows a group of contestants, known as housemates, as they live together in a house fitted with 87 cameras, over 100 microphones and very little privacy, began airing in summer 2000 and is one of the biggest reality franchises in television history. The housemates compete in challenges in the hopes of coming out on top and walking away with the $500,000 grand prize. All three weekly episodes of this summer's Big Brother 19 manage to rank among summer's top five broadcasts and average 7.35 million viewers.

As of right now, we don't know who we can expect for our first celebrity housemates. With any reality show, especially one where folks live together and are watched all day and night, casting will require finding the right mixture of interesting personalities who viewers also want to watch, whether for nostalgia reasons or simply because they are still well-known today. Of course, the likelihood that we'll get a Celebrity Big Brother with say, Will Smith, Jennifer Aniston and Taylor Swift in the cast is very slim. There will probably be several beloved stars of screen, song and sport from yesteryear (I don't know why I want Henry Winkler to do this, but I really, really do), some current lower-level names from the same fields and a few folks from other reality shows (I will be shocked if at least one Real Housewife of Wherever isn't involved).

In a matter of hours, Big Brother will crown its 16th winner. We knew from the previous casting announcement that the CBS reality competition series would be back for at least one more season. But today CBS officially announced that Big Brother has been renewed for two more seasons.

CBS's announcement doesn't offer a ton of details about what's planned for the next two seasons, which isn't surprising. Details aren't typically revealed until very close to the premiere of each season. But the Eye does confirm that Season 17 will air during Summer of 2015, and Season 18 will air during Summer 2016. Lest anyone wonder if we were in for another awkward winter season. And Julie Chen's name is mentioned as the host, so it doesn't seem like that's going to change. Hard to imagine Big Brother without Chen guiding us through the live episodes.

Additionally, Big Brother After Dark will return to POP -- the network currently known as TVGN, which is set to re-launch as POP next year. CBS only mentions that the nightly live feed broadcast has been renewed for next summer. No mention of the following season. But we might assume that's something they want to line up on an annual basis.

Big Brother doesn't necessarily earn the awards and/or ratings of shows like Survivor and The Amazing Race, but the summer reality series does ok in the ratings. According to CBS, this summer's season is up +2% in viewers (7.56m from 7.39m) and +4% in adults 18-49 (2.7/09 from 2.6/08), while averaging 3.1/09 in adults 25-54 and 1.9/08 in adults 18-34. And all three weekly broadcasts found a spot among the top 10 programs of the summer in adults 18-49.

As someone who's made Big Brother a summer obsession since Season 2, it's comforting to know that CBS is planning on keeping the series around for another two years. Fans are likely wondering when Big Brother will do another All Star season. The last one was Season 7, which was in 2006. The seasons that followed have occasionally included Houseguests from previous seasons, but there hasn't been a full house of former players since Season 7. While it's possible that next season will be an All-Star season -- we probably speculate that every season -- CBS might be saving that for 2016, a decade after the last one.

Alas, CBS makes no mention of All-Stars in the renewal announcement, so we can really only speculate. In the meantime, casting has begun for Season 17.

Tonight, Big Brother 16 will wrap up. At present, Derrick, Cody and Victoria remain in the game. Two of them will face off during the live finale, and the winner of the final Head of Household competition will decide who comes with them to the Final 2. Who will win? We did a lot of speculating here. And how will the houseguests react to some of the big reveals? They still don't know about Team America, or that Derrick's a cop. We'll have to wait and see what the finale reveals. And then we can start counting down until next summer... and the summer after that.

Earlier this week, Big Brother host Julie Chen opened up about her past with plastic surgery during a segment on The Talk. Apparently, as a twenty-five-year-old, she made the decision to surgically open her eyes to try and advance her career as a newswoman. The emotional reveal was met with sympathy from her co-hosts and the members of the audience, but today, it has caused quite a bit of controversy among the general public.

The story goes like this: during the beginning of her career in Ohio, she was told by her boss that she’d never appear as more than a reporter because her eyes made her look disinterested and less than empathetic during interviews. This made her self-conscious about her eyes and her career prospects, a problem only made worse after she talked to a high profile agent who told her the same thing. After getting into more than a few fights with female members who were deeply divided on the issue, she made the decision to have the surgery, and she’s never talked about it publically until earlier this week.

On the one hand, it’s easy to see why she decided to listen to the advice and get the surgery. There are more than a few women in Hollywood who got plastic surgery while they were trying to get famous, and considering her career took off almost immediately after having the surgery, it’s really hard to think she acted inappropriately. The goal is to get ahead, and that’s exactly what she did.

On the other hand, however, it’s not difficult to understand why there’s so much outrage. As a society, we’re trying to get to the point where differences are accepted. We teach our children to love themselves, regardless of what color their skin might be. Unfortunately, when people alter their appearance to make themselves look less like a certain race, it can have the affect of teaching the exact opposite.

Hollywood is filled with women who have gotten plastic surgeries to try and either look younger or look more attractive. Fans tend have firm opinions on whether altering one’s body is a wise decision or not, but because of the complexities of this particular case, there are many who aren’t quite sure what to think. Big Brother host Julie Chen admitted this week that she had surgery on her “Asian eyes” as a twenty-five-year-old reporter after bosses and industry insiders told her she looked disinterested and expressionless on camera.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Chen made the big reveal during Wednesday’s episode of The Talk. Each of the women revealed a “shocking secret” about themselves, and Julie’s has been getting some serious attention since it was made. You can watch it in its entirety below…

The first time Julie’s heritage and appearance became an issue happened while she was a reporter in Dayton, Ohio. She reportedly told her boss she would be willing to fill in on the anchor chair during weekends, vacations and holidays if they ever have a spot. At that point, he supposedly told her that would never happened for two reasons. First, as an Asian she wasn’t particularly relatable to the community and second, her eyes were so small viewers tended to think she was bored while on camera. Later, she spoke with a high profile agent, and he actually agreed with the criticism and recommended several plastic surgeons.

After numerous in-fights with her family and lots of self doubt, Chen decided to go through with the procedure, and her career took off not long after. In the time since, she has always wondered whether what she did was right, but she let viewers know yesterday how proud she is of her heritage and how willing she is to live with the choices she’s made, whether good or bad.

Very little about life is black and white. More often than not, the choices we have to make are incredibly complicated, and from a detached perspective, it’s easy to see why Chen went through emotional hell trying to figure out what to do. Fortuntately, she seems happy, and surgery or not, she’s still a great role model.

Last night's episode of Big Brother may have been one of the most anticipated episodes of the season. Those of us keeping up with the feeds, or really anyone with a good sense of what's going on in the house, knew that it was almost guaranteed that Aaryn would be sent packing. Given some of the controversial comments Aaryn has made in the house, some of which were featured on the show earlier in the season, we were left to wonder how Big Brother host Julie Chen would handle her exit interview. Would she address the comments? Watch the video below and see for yourself.

Julie Chen is affectionately nicknamed "the Chenbot" by Big Brother fans, but we all know she's an actual human being with feelings. And if you might have noticed, she's Asian American. Understandably so, Aaryn's comments hit a nerve with her, and she expressed some of her opinions on The Talk earlier this summer. So the likelihood that she would address the comments seemed high, even as Aaryn managed to curb her attitude when her alliance dwindled and she was forced to improve her social game.

Aaryn exited the house to a unanimous vote last night and was greeted by a mixed reaction of applause and boos. That in itself should have clued Aaryn in that she wasn't adored outside the house. And to be fair, I don't think she expected to be, though I don't think she knew the extent of people's feelings toward her based on her comments.

I found Aaryn's interview hard to watch, and at the same time, I wasn't disappointed that Julie addressed the topic, nor did I think Julie crossed any lines in the way she handled it. The boos and laughter from the audience was a bit much, but the host was polite and almost gentle with Aaryn in the way she posed the questions and then gave Aaryn a chance to speak. She even gave Aaryn the opportunity to mea culpa before reading back some of the harshest things Aaryn said. And she left out Aaryn's "asian manicurist" impersonation.

All things considered, Aaryn held up ok, at least by comparison to say, crying or getting up and running off the stage when the audience started laughing at her. And she did try to apologize, though I'm not sure her "I'm from Texas" defense (is that an actual defense?) holds up. And I'm kind of curious about how Texans feel about that being used as an excuse.

Julie Chen is to be commended. She could have really laid into Aaryn, but she seemed to take the high road, approaching the subject with grace and poise. She didn't let the interview get personal, which she easily could have. I much preferred the way she went about it than I would if she had openly chastised Aaryn or told her off. There was no reason to make a spectacle out of Aaryn's behavior, at least not any more than Aaryn did when she was inside the house.

Aaryn will have some time to reflect on the situation as she's headed to the jury sequester to wait for the finale. That may give her some time to work on her apologies and prepare for whatever other backlash there is for the situation, including being dropped from her modeling agency. As I mentioned yesterday in my recap, she's still young, and probably a little bit sheltered. If she thought it was ok to say the things she did, or she thought people would think it was funny then she's about to have her eyes opened. With that said, as much as I don't condone the things she said, she still has plenty of time to change and grow, and to learn from this whole experience.

The Big Brother houseguests are in for a couple of twists during tonight's live episode, although their level of surprise may vary a bit. We'll get to that in a minute. We know that tonight's episode will be the first double eviction of the season, and those are always good for a bit of suspenseful live television as the houseguests scramble to try to make it through the episode without being sent out the door. We also know that the houseguests will learn that there will be nine jurors this season, which means the next two evictees will be sent to sequester. But is there a reset of some sort also in store?

If you watched last season, you'll probably remember that it began with four previous houseguests coming into the house as coaches. The reset button was brought in later on in the season to offer the couches the opportunity to enter the game as players, which meant they'd be eligible for eviction. It also meant they'd be eligible to win the $500,000. Only one coach needed to hit the button for all four of them to enter the game, and if I remember correctly, all of them did. And by hitting the reset button no one was evicted that week.

So how does the reset button factor into this season? It's entirely possible that it doesn't. Julie might just be messing with viewers ahead of tonight's big double eviction. If it were to factor into tonight's episode, I can't imagine that the reset button would save anyone from being evicted. We're promised two evictions. But it is possible it's being brought in to offer the houseguests the opportunity to opt out of this MVP twist going forward. And given the mystery MVP nominations over the last few weeks, it seems likely that at least one houseguest will hit the button in order to rid themselves of that bit of unpredictability.

I'm assuming there won't be an MVP nominee during the double eviction, because America has not been invited to vote for an MVP or a nominee this week. But it's possible the new Head of Household will get to pick a third nominee. Or there will just be two. There plenty of unknowns here, but if that button is brought out, we can't say we weren't warned, right?

LIVE FEED SPOILERS AHEAD - read no further if you don't want any spoilers about who might go home tonight!

As we shared yesterday, it's looking like Candice will go home tonight, but there's a lot of paranoia going on and there's been some talk about sending Amanda out the door, but I don't think there are enough people willing to do that tonight to make it happen - at least not during the first eviction. If Jessie were to get HoH for the second eviction, I wouldn't be surprised at all if Amanda went up on the block.

The houseguests were given an hour of no feeds last night for a celebration that I think might be the half-way point in evictions. When the feeds came back there was some talk about a possible double eviction, so something clued them into that, but they don't seem to know for sure. It's also unclear if they know that everyone remaining is going to jury (excluding the final two). Either way, don't expect them to be completely shocked by tonight's double eviction.
