I’m not saying Chris Pratt is perfect in any sense (people so rarely are), but it is difficult for me to believe the kind instincts he shows in public, like covering Electric State co-star Millie Bobby Brown’s wardrobe malfunction, aren’t his true nature. If anything, I certainly believe his wife when she says his jokes do not dry up when he steps off camera.

Making movies can be a physically grueling experience, and while every precaution is taken to make sure that actors are kept safe, injuries happen. Just ask Tom Cruise. Chris Pratt apparently sustained an injury while filming his newest movie, Mercy, and he showed it off on social media. One hopes it looks worse than it is.

This is because, honestly, it looks pretty terrible. Pratt’s foot and ankle are incredibly swollen to the point that his wife, Katherine Schwarzenegger, is clearly having trouble even looking at it. Pratt is having fun with it, though, posting it to Instagram, referring to his foot as “The Claw” and doing his best impression of the little green aliens from Toy Story.

I’m not squeamish, but this is kinda gross. Human limbs aren’t supposed to look like that. It took me a moment for my eyes to adjust to what’s actually wrong with Chris Pratt’s foot, but once I realized what I was seeing, I freaked out a little bit.

Solid Toy Story reference aside, I have some serious questions about just how in the world Chris Pratt did this to himself while filming Mercy. The man spends 90% of the movie literally sitting in a chair and not moving. Did he fall out of the chair at the end of a take? How do you do this to yourself in a movie where you barely stand up?

In Mercy, Pratt stars as a police detective accused of murdering his wife. It takes place in a future world where his crime is judged by an AI, and the defendant has 90 minutes to prove his own innocence. As such, Pratt’s character is strapped to a chair and must defend himself by combing the internet for evidence.

There are some scenes in the film that have Pratt out of the chair, mostly in the form of surveillance footage or dash cams that captured his character in the period before the crime. So there are certainly some more action-oriented scenes, but an injury this ugly is just less likely considering how often Pratt doesn’t move in this movie.

Honestly, the best part of this video is Katherine Schwarzenegger's reaction. She’s laughing at the whole thing, but is clearly also grossed out by it all. She doesn’t understand why Pratt is posting the video to Instagram and not sending it to a doctor. He doesn’t even have ice on it or anything.

If this happened while filming Mercy, then the actual injury was sustained a while back, and if it was really anything serious, we’d probably have known about it. Chris Pratt is probably fine now. We certainly hope his wife doesn’t have to look at that disgusting foot anymore.

Now, Chris Pratt has not ignored his wife and the comments from others about the order of his “essentials” list. The Parks and Recreation actor made sure to clarify what’s truly at the top of his list that remedies any concerns we might have had at first:

Ok, we won’t overthink it. Chris Pratt has used his social media to show how much he loves his family. Whether he goes into full girl dad mode for his daughters or brings his first son, Jack, to set, he is absolutely a loving father.

Not to mention, Chris Pratt never shies away from showing his wife love online. Ahead of their second anniversary in 2021, The Electric State actor listed his favorite things about Schwarzenegger, like "her laugh," “her smile, her patience, her fortitude, her devotion as a mother, as a wife, her faith.” Then, for their fifth wedding anniversary in 2024, Pratt shared sweet words to his “honey” and said, “I thank God for you every day.” Now, that’s a husband who genuinely cherishes his partner and isn’t afraid to let the world know.

Katherine Schwarzenegger was totally boss for roasting her husband’s order of “essentials.” Then again, Chris Pratt made sure to clarify that his family is truly #1 on his list, so we can cut him some slack on that.

While that was certainly a step in the right direction, Kourtney Kardashian, Chris Pratt and other parents have gone even further to ensure their children’s images remain out of the tabloids and off of social media. Kristen Bell and Dax Shepherd also have famously kept their two daughters’ images private, as has Gigi Hadid since welcoming a girl with Zayn Malik in 2020.

Many fans have found it surprising or confusing that Kourtney Kardashian and Travis Barker chose to follow in Chris Pratt and Katherine Schwarzenegger’s footsteps because of how much of their lives and their children’s lives they’ve already shared. Yet one would think there's a chance that an official confirmation could come sooner rather than later. 

These two seem to be a perfect match for one another, and Katherine Schwarzenegger’s famous dad, Arnold Schwarzenegger, approves, too. While speaking about his daughter and son-in-law during an interview, Arnold said they're “so in love” and noted just how well they “fit” together. The married couple also reportedly have a good relationship with Pratt’s ex-wife, Anna Faris, with whom the Parks and Recreation actor shares 11-year-old son, Jack. 

What Projects Is Chris Pratt Working On? 

Chris Pratt’s movie with the Russo Brothers, The Electric State, is expected to be part of Netflix’s 2024 schedule later this year. The movie, which also stars Millie Bobby Brown, Ke Huy Quan and Stanley Tucci, is about a teen who traverses the American West with a robot and drifter. Pratt also has the second season of Amazon Prime's The Terminal List for fans to look forward to!

All the while, he recently started filming a science fiction movie called Mercy for Amazon MGM Studios alongside Rebecca Ferguson and Annabelle Wallis. The movie is about a detective who has to prove his innocence after being accused of a crime. Production began back in April, but the leading man experienced an ankle injury just four days into filming. The production has a release date set for August 15, 2025. 

Chris Pratt is certainly busy, but his family post suggests that he -- like wife Katherine Schwarzenegger -- still aims to spend quality time with his kids. Surely, they'll continue to do so as time goes on and extend that same time and attention to the third child they reportedly have on the way.

Chris Pratt often finds himself at the center of online controversies. Whether it's criticisms over his vocal work in The Super Mario Bros. Movie, questioning his casting in the upcoming feature The Garfield Movie, or backlash over his playful request for votes at the People's Choice Awards (where he was dubbed "the worst Chris,") the internet often seems raring to lambaste the Guardians of the Galaxy star. Pratt's latest uproar involves his wife, Katherine Schwarzenegger, with whom he recently demolished a $12.5 million historic home.

Stemming from the heart of Los Angeles's Brentwood neighborhood, controversy brews after the Marvel alum and Schwarzenegger faced backlash for demolishing a historically significant home. According to Dwell Magazine, the couple recently razed the Zimmerman House, a celebrated piece of mid-century modern architecture, to make way for their own modern 15,000-square-foot mansion.

Designed by renowned architect Craig Ellwood in 1950, the Zimmerman house was widely embraced as an architectural treasure. It featured design elements typical of the mid-century modern style, such as expansive windows and rich wooden flooring. The house not only boasted aesthetics captured in publications like Progressive Architecture magazine, but also carried historical Hollywood significance. It was once the residence of Hilda Rolfe, widow of Sam Rolfe, co-creator of the iconic TV series The Man from U.N.C.L.E.

Footage from December 2022 showcased a well-preserved structure, complete with mid-century furnishings that epitomized its era's design ethos. But things started to change after the couple purchased the property in 2023 for $12.5 million.

The demolition of the historic home, which will be replaced by the pair's farmhouse plans,, has drawn criticism beyond just preservation circles. A TikTok by Quinn Garvey (@vintageonq) took off into the viral-sphere, garnering nearly 40K likes with an opening line of "Chris Pratt, you’re a weirdo for this one."

In a video captured by Garvey during the 2022 estate sale at the Zimmerman House, the footage highlights the home's original features and structures, many preserved as they were in Julius Shulman’s 1953 photographs. Impressively, these elements remained in good to excellent condition, with some pieces even sold on 1stDibs before the house was demolished. Garvey expressed her surprise upon learning of the demolition, despite her extensive experience with estate sales, saying:

The demolition controversy extends beyond social media and involves key preservation groups. The Los Angeles Conservancy, a nonprofit dedicated to preserving historic buildings, warned about the imminent demolition in January, noting that the residence was remarkably well-preserved and a significant example of modernist architecture from that period. Despite being recognized by the city's SurveyLA program as a property of potential historical value, it was not granted any official protective status, according to a statement by the Conservancy on Instagram.

Meanwhile, Chris Pratt and Katherine Schwarzenegger already own another residence in the hills of Pacific Palisades currently listed for $30 million, where they reside with their two children. The couple has not publicly addressed the backlash following the demolition of the historic home.

In the meantime, the Parks and Recreation veteran star is focusing on other endeavors beyond real estate. As mentioned there are plenty of movies to pick from when you think about it. The A-lister’s flicks range in terms of genre and scope. Of course, he’s not only done live-action work, as he has several major animated movies under his belt as well. So amid all of his credits what’s the feature that truly speaks to Katherine Schwarzenegger? Well, as the leading man revealed, it’s a romantic comedy from the 2000s: 

So it would seem that it’s Gary Winick’s 2009 comedy that managed to catch her attention. You can’t really blame her for getting a kick out of the rom-com, which has managed to build up quite a following over the years. Chris Pratt’s comments to People seem to indicate that he’s somewhat amused by the whole thing. I imagine that it’s a good feeling to have a spouse that supports your work – even if it is just one film on a lengthy resume. 

Bride Wars stars Anne Hathaway and Kate Hudson as childhood best friends that are eagerly planning their respective weddings. Unfortunately, things get (humorously) competitive when each woman tries to walk down the aisle before the other. Chris Pratt plays the fiancée of Hathaway’s character and, over the course of the film, the pair learn that they may not have as much in common as they once thought. While critics weren’t all that high on the matrimony-centric comedy, it did draw solid crowds at the theaters. It ultimately earned slightly over $115 million at the box office against a reported budget of $30 million. Of course, Pratt has moved on to much bigger productions since then. 

Katherine Schwarzenegger may not watch much of the big-screen fare that her husband produces, but she certainly does support him in other ways. Since her “beautiful” wedding in 2019, the author has shown love to her hubby on multiple occasions. She also stood by him amid public backlash that even prompted her mom, Maria Shriver, to reach out. You could also joke that she probably doesn’t have time to watch the movies, as she’s too busy posting photos of their kids, particularly their second baby. (Of course, in doing so, she’s still upholding the tradition of hiding their kids’ faces.)

One would hope that she does eventually carve out some time to go through Chris Pratt’s extensive catalogue, though. There are certainly some gems in there that are worth a watch or two. But of course, if Katherine Schwarzenegger opts not to check out anything more than the wedding rom-com, then that’s perfectly fine also.

Chris Pratt has always been one of the more stylish actors in Hollywood, and he didn’t disappoint at the recent world premiere of his upcoming video game movie, The Super Mario Bros Movie. Pratt, known for his charming goofball personality, looked dapper in a well-fitting burgundy suit with a white dress shirt sans tie, which calls to mind the beloved red-shirted plumber he voices in the flick. The actor completed his Nintendo-inspired look appropriately with a quirky mushroom pocket square and, honestly, it’s the perfect accessory. 

The world premiere for the film occurred in Los Angeles on April 1st at the Regal LA Live. The event welcomed the star-studded Super Mario Bros. Movie voice cast, with many modeling their red (and, in this case, white spotted) carpet looks to reflect their characters'. Leading man Chris Pratt definitely committed  by accessorizing his look with a white pocket square adorned with the iconic red Super Mushroom. In the games, the red and white mushroomed fungi are known for making the players grow in size and allowing them to stomp enemies and smash through pipes and bricks. The star's decision to add the playful pocket square to his outfit showed off his fun-loving personality and love for the video game. Mushrooms have featured heavily in the Mario Bros. series’ gameplay since the franchise's inception. The varied colors of fungi are recurrent items in the series that have different properties for players across games. For example, the green mushroom gives players an extra life, known as a 1Up, and there are even versions of poison mushrooms that will kill players if they’re not avoided. However, the Super Mushroom, as seen on Chris Pratt’s pocket square, is perhaps the most iconic, which helps show the actor’s knowledge of the series and perhaps, conveys a bit of pride on his part.

The shroom-studded item wasn’t the only fresh aspect of the star's attire. He opened his jacket to reveal to those in attendance that his suit had even been custom embroidered to include his character’s name in gold stitching. You can see the A-lister mugging in the photo below:

There has been a lot of controversy surrounding Chris Pratt’s casting as the titular turtle-stomping character, which he took the time to address recently. However, the star has also asked longtime fans to hold off on their judgment until they have finally seen the movie, and then they could talk. Franchise devotees will not have to wait much longer because the Illumination-produced family film is headed into theaters in less than a week. Based on the early overwhelmingly positive reactions to Super Mario Bros. following the screening, Pratt may know what he’s talking about because it’s looking to be a crowd-pleaser. I'm now curious as to whether those prospective viewers will now take a page out of Pratt's book and sport some mushroom-centric attire when they go out to see the film.

Katherine Schwarznegger and Chris Pratt have been together since 2018 and in that time her profile has been raised quite a bit as a lifestyle blogger and now author of several books. While she says photographers follow her and her famous Marvel star husband even when they are places like farmer’s markets, she recently explained that it was her own famous parents, Arnold Schwarzenegger and Maria Shriver, who helped her to prepare for a life of fame. 

In fact, when asked about getting followed by the papparazzi, the mom of two daughters told the New York Times: "I feel like I was very prepared."

She said her parents had always allowed her and her siblings to have lives of their own, despite the fact that throughout her childhood her dad Arnold Schwarzenegger was first a major movie star and then remained in the public eye while serving as the Governor of California. Her mother, Maria Shriver, was a prominent journalist and news anchor in her own right. They both made an effort to keep their kids – including her also-famous brother Patrick – out of the limelight. And Katherine wants to do it just the same way. 

She’s already started down that path. While she and Chris Pratt have two kids together and Katherine posts regularly about them, she has taken careful pains to hide the Pratt girls’ faces on social media. In fact, a slew of these Pratt family photos are still super adorable while keeping their girls private. When they’re old presumably they can then make their own social media choices. 

Not all famous parents are like this. The Kardashians post pictures of their kids fairly regularly. Other famous parents, including Gwyneth Paltrow, try to keep boundaries intact, though it’s worth noting her daughter with Chris Martin Apple once roasted her mom for posting a picture without her permission. 

There's no handbook for how to do things, but it sounds like Katherine Schwarzenegger really liked the way her famous parents did it. She also told the news outlet there’s another lesson she’s taking from her mom and dad about how she wants to personally live. That philosophy?

Both Chris Pratt and Katherine are advocates for charities, including the Special Olympics, for which they serve as global ambassadors. Along with this, Schwarzenegger is an ambassador for Best Friends Animal Society and the ASPCA. Her book Good Night Sister raised money for Save the Children. They still get followed by papparazzi while out and about (Pratt even nicely but firmly confronted a pap once) but it sounds like she has the foundation to move forward and still live a happy-yet-famous life simultaneously. 

Anna Faris and Chris Pratt were married from 2009-2017 and share a son, Jack. After their marriage ended, Pratt married Katherine Schwarzenegger, and the two share two children together. While the end of a marriage can be difficult for all parties, Faris and Pratt have stated they stay committed to raising their child together as a united front. Recently Faris expressed that her relationship with both Pratt and Schwarzenegger has grown stronger over the years, and hopes for a blended family. 

The Overboard actress recently spoke to People Magazine, and revealed she has a great rapport with her ex-husband and his wife. Time clearly has helped the family grow closer, and seem to look out for each other. She said:

I’m glad these two exes remain on good terms and care for each other. As for spending holidays together, Faris revealed she is very interested in spending that kind of family time with Pratt, even if it wasn’t possible this year. The Mom alum went on to say:

Time heals all wounds, and it seems to be bringing this family closer together. Faris has also found love herself, in cinematographer Michael Barrett, who she married in 2021. She frequently chats about her life on her advice podcast, Unqualified, and reveals all sorts of lessons she’s learned from love and loss. Having a support system is a positive for everyone, and I’m glad she was able to develop one in Pratt and Schwarzenegger.

Pratt and Faris both have continued to have incredibly successful acting careers after they split. Pratt has starred in a number of action films and led the Jurassic World franchise from 2015-2022. He will be reprising his role as Starlord in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, which is set for release in 2023. He is also expected to return for future MCU projects. In addition to her podcast, Faris ended her successful run on the CBS sitcom, Mom, in 2020. She now stars in a new comedy film, The Estate, alongside celebrated actress Toni Collette.

Back in May, Chris Pratt and Katherine Schwarzenegger welcomed their second child: Eloise Christina Schwarzenegger Pratt. Based on social media posts, the two have seemed overjoyed about having another little one around the house. Now that their baby is nearly five months old, Schwarzenegger is opening up about what it' like to be a mother of two girls. And from the sound of it, the two siblings are really getting along. 

Chris Pratt and Katherine Schwarzenegger are raising sisters now, and as Katherine recently shared, the now two-year-old Lyla reacted well to no longer being the only baby in the family. In her words: 

While speaking to People, the author and mother of two found that her two daughters began getting along immediately and called Lyla the "sweetest and most gentle, excited older sister." And based on the star's comments, that sibling relationship is only blossoming with time:

Chris Pratt’s wife of three years recently wrote a children’s book called Good Night, Sister, which is inspired by her memories of having a sister growing up. Now it also works for her growing family since she’s a mother of two daughters. And now the book, which is her fifth, can now serve as some prime bedtime reading material when it comes to her own daughters.

The sisters may not know it just yet, but their father is one of the biggest blockbuster stars of this generation. Many of Chris Pratt’s movies have been big hits and, come next summer, he’ll star in the final Guardians of the Galaxy movie, which wrapped production earlier this year. Additionally, Pratt will voice Mario in The Super Mario Bros. Movie, hitting theaters on April 7, 2023. 

Between their dad and their grandfather, Lyla and Eloise definitely have some serious cinematic lineage and may want to pursue acting themselves one day. I’m having some serious breastfeeding struggle flashbacks with that picture of the 3 haakaas half full of milk. We may be able to assume that the author and media personality is the one in the household that influenced the decision to keep the littles off of social media. Although, this also could totally be due to Jack being much older and more involved in the world in general. The duo already have one young daughter, and now Pratt has revealed that not only has Schwarzenegger given birth, but he’s let his fans know the name of their newly born daughter, as well.

Proud new papa Chris Pratt took to his Instagram recently to share the news of the arrival of his second child with Katherine Schwarzenegger, and also announced the name that they’ve given their new baby girl:

As Pratt (who's said he'd love to have "lots of kids") noted, both little Eloise and Schwarzenegger are doing great, and he also attached a photo-less baby announcement, which let everyone know that their new daughter was born on May 21. I can't help but wonder (as I'm sure many of the couple's fans probably are), if they chose the name Eloise because of Bridgerton, but, I digress...

Schwarzenegger and Pratt have had quite the pleasant whirlwind going on in their personal lives for the past few years. The two met in 2018, and then had a beautiful wedding in the summer of 2019, after Pratt’s divorce from former Mom star Anna Faris had been finalized in October of the previous year. Pratt shares son Jack, who’s now 9, with Faris, and he and Schwarzenegger welcomed their first daughter together, Lyla, in August of 2020.

While Pratt is currently gearing up for the release of the third (and potentially final) film in the Jurassic World franchise on June 10, the arrival of another child is likely way more exciting to him right now. Pratt has praised Schwarzenegger before for being “a wonderful wife, mother, step-mother, and life partner” and for having a “pure” heart, but he got some flak from fans in the first days of this year after thanking his wife for giving him “a gorgeous healthy daughter” in Lyla, as they saw it as a dig against Faris and Jack. This led to Pratt’s mother-in-law, Maria Shriver, coming out to support him and offer him some well-wishes.

Both Shriver and Arnold Schwarzenegger have shown lots of support for Pratt and their daughter’s growing family. The action movie icon has noted, though, that Katherine “freaks out” about him doing baby stuff with Lyla, so the case may be the same when Schwarzenegger attempts doing things like holding young Eloise. 

Lyla was Schwarzenegger’s first child, and the young mother has been committed to making sure that Lyla’s been shielded from public view while she’s still so young. The Marvel Cinematic Universe is chock full of franchises, but a few stand out as fan favorites. While the contents of Guardians 3 are currently a mystery, smart money says that much of the plot will be surrounding Gamora. While she was killed by Thanos in Avengers: Infinity War, the 2014 version of the green girl was “resurrected” thanks to Endgame’s Time Heist. After fighting with the Avengers she departed to places unknown, with the Guardians last seen in pursuit of her.

Who’s ready to return to the Jurassic Park film series? It’s been a longer wait for Jurassic World Dominion than initially expected, but the sixth entry in this cinematic franchise is on track to finally premiere in theaters this June, and the first Dominion trailer premiered yesterday. Naturally Chris Pratt, one of the movie’s main stars, shared the trailer once it was online, and his wife, Katherine Schwarzenegger, had a cute response to it.

The Jurassic World Dominion trailer opens with Chris Pratt’s Owen Grady riding a horse and chasing a pack of Parasaurolophus with two other individuals. In the comments section of the trailer post Pratt shared on Instagram, Katherine Schwarzenegger was enamored with her husband being atop a horse, saying:

This is just one of the many moments in the first Jurassic World Dominion trailer that highlights Chris Pratt’s character, with others including him and DeWanda Wise’s Kayla getting ready to face off against a feathered prehistoric opponent, as well as Owen Grady riding a motorcycle to flee from some Atrociraptors. But for Katherine Schwarzenegger, it was seeing her husband riding a horse after some dinosaurs that really caught her eye. Schwarzenegger has also been present on social media lately sharing some adorable photos of her and Pratt’s daughter. She also announced last December that they have a second child together on the way (Pratt’s third overall).

Katherine Schwarzenegger wasn’t the recognizable person who commented on Chris Pratt’s post either. Pom Klementieff, who plays Mantis opposite Pratt’s Star-Lord in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, said the following:

Along with Chris Pratt and some scenes featuring his Jurassic World film series costar Bryce Dallas Howard, who plays Claire Dearing, Jurassic World Dominion trailer also gave us our first looks at the original Jurassic trio returning, i.e. Sam Neill’s Alan Grant, Jeff Goldblum’s Ian Malcolm and Laura Dern’s Ellie Sattler. This is the first time these three have been together since the movie that started it all in 1993, and unlike Goldblum’s cameo in Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, they’ll play integral roles in Dominion’s story.

Other familiar faces returning for Jurassic World Dominion include BD Wong as Dr. Henry Wu, Daniella Pineda as Dr. Zia Rodriguez, Justice Smith as Franklin Webb, Isabella Sermon as Maisie Lockwood, and Omar Sy as Barry Sembène. Dominion’s newcomers include Mamoudou Athie, Scott Haze and Dichen Lachman, as well as Campbell Scott taking over the role of Lewis Dodgson from Cameron Thor. Directed by Colin Trevorrow, who also co-wrote the script with Emily Carmichael, Jurassic World Dominion rampages into theaters on June 10. It’s one of the many 2022 movie releases that’s expected to make a splash, and if that won’t deliver enough Chris Pratt for you this year, he’s also reprising Star-Lord in Thor: Love and Thunder and voicing Mario for the animated Super Mario Bros. movie.

With the world becoming more and more of a place where social media and online content determine public perception, celebrities, and people in general, are starting to be pretty careful about what they post online. One of the ways many people are doing this is by keeping their children’s faces off their digital accounts. Katherine Schwarzenegger and Chris Pratt, being two major celebrities, have worked particularly hard to keep their little one’s privacy intact. Schwarzenegger is still hiding her little one in a new post, but she’s sure doing it in an adorable way.

While some celebrities don’t seem to mind posting full pictures of their precious little ones, Katherine Schwarzenegger is always finding creative ways to keep her and Chris Pratt’s daughter semi-hidden from their fans. In her newest Instagram post, it’s more of the same, but one can’t help but notice how adorable the tiny baby shoes are in the photo. Check it out for yourself below:

Not only are the tiny baby feet covered in what is probably one pricey pair of fuzzy sneakers, but the white fluff of a shoe matches Katherine Schwarzenegger’s perfectly. It seems to be a mommy-and-me pair, and I’m here for it. The fact that they lace up and everything just has me wishing my little one was just that little again. 

Fans of the TV personality are commenting on her post with all the praise for both her matching and mommying skills. The “awwws” and heart eye emojis are running rampant in the comment section, with some moms even saying they have the same pair for them and their littles in a different color.

It makes a lot of sense as to why Katherine Schwarzenegger and Chris Pratt have decided to try to keep their little one in the limelight of their fame, as other celebrities have come forward with just how they feel about their fame encroaching on their children’s lives. After all, their kids didn’t have a say in how famous their parents would be, and it’s nice that celebrities are taking steps in order for their kids to have a kind of normal childhood. 

Celebrities like George Clooney have been very vocal about the need for children to be given some grace from their parents’ fame, Clooney even sent an open letter to a news publication after it ran a story about Billie Lourd’s young child.

Katherine Schwarzenegger herself may have an interesting take on this topic, having grown up with a famous dad. Around the time when Schwarzenegger was young, it would have been pretty impossible to not know who Arnold Schwarzenegger was, as he is an action icon and was in his prime around that time and has a very recognizable look and sound.

It may be a little disappointing to fans of celebrities that they don’t get a bigger window into their lives as their family grows, but it’s a decision that most seem to respect. But Katherine Schwarzenegger isn’t keeping the cuteness away from her fans because, even though there may not be much of her little one shown in photos shared to her social media, the level of cuteness is far from lacking.

Chris Pratt has been unabashed in his affection for his wife Katherine Schwarzenegger. Over the past few months, he’s penned posts about their work with the upcoming Olympics, his love for his wife (even with her annoying habits), and a lovely birthday tribute. However, one post went viral and led to backlash after he commented about his daughter with Katherine and people online took it as a shot at his kid, Jack, with Anna Faris. His mother-in-law reached out after the backlash to share her own thoughts. 

To get into why Maria Shriver might have felt the need to support Chris Pratt, you need to know a few things. First, Pratt’s been taking flack for being the “worst Chris” among the handsome Hollywood Chrises during the pandemic. The Internet has also roasted the actor for landing a bunch of voice roles, including one that turned out to be a hoax. In addition, Chris Pratt shared this post featuring himself and his wife, to whom he has been married since 2019. 

A lot of fans, in the comments of the Instagram post and elsewhere, were not particularly kind about Pratt mentioning how Katherine Schwarzenegger had birthed their “gorgeous healthy daughter.” Many of those individuals mentioned how the actor’s son with Anna Faris dealt with some health challenges as a young tyke and spent time in the NICU. Faris had also previously mentioned several surgeries the former couple’s son has had during his childhood. The former couple's divorce was finalized in 2018.

But Maria Shriver asked Chris Pratt not to take it to heart, telling the actor in the comments to “rise above the noise. “  

Maria Shriver isn’t the only member of the Schwarzenegger clan to reach out to Chris Pratt during this extended period. In fact, Patrick Schwarzenegger also called the backlash “crazy,” noting he feels like Twitter is a “junkyard” with people having a “let’s get mad” mentality. Another portion of what Patrick’s mother had to say to her son-in-law can also be seen, below (edited for punctuation). 

It’s not just family members who have commented on this topic, as the likes of Mark Ruffalo and James Gunn have spoken out in his defense as well.  Chris Pratt has come close to addressing this controversy when he was a part of the AGBO fantasy football league with a bunch of other MCU stars and just so happened to win the whole shebang. In that case he had bragging rights and talked a little trash about who the “best Chris” was. Some have also speculated an Instagram Stories post about “feeling crappy” and going into the woods to work it out was related to the online blowback. 

Despite the occasional Internet drama, Pratt’s career is flourishing. Along with all the aforementioned voice work in the coming year, he has Jurassic World: Dominion and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 coming up. Oh yeah, and some work in a little movie called Thor: Love and Thunder. 

In addition, Pratt and Katherine Schwarzenegger are expected to add another little one into the fold in 2022. 

It’s a special holiday season for Chris Pratt and Katherine Schwarzenegger. They are reportedly getting ready to be parents to their second child together. The married couple, who welcomed their first child together, Lyla, in August 2020, are expecting another baby together, keeping to Pratt’s words that he wants “a lot of kids.” 

The news broke via Us Weekly, which cites “multiple sources” confirming the big blessing to the couple in its report. Katherine Schwarzenegger just recently celebrated her 32nd birthday with Chris Pratt, who penned a love letter to her over Instagram in appreciation of her being a “wonderful wife, mother, step-mother, and life partner” just the other day. 

Katherine Schwarzenegger is a self-help book author and the daughter of Arnold Schwarzenegger, and the child she is expecting will be her second. She and Pratt met back in 2018 and wed in the summer of 2019. The couple started their family in early 2020 when news broke of them expecting their first child together, who they welcomed last summer. Lyla is now 16 months old and it looks like Pratt and Schwarzenegger are ready to become the parents of two of their own. 

This would be Chris Pratt’s third child. The Jurassic World and Guardians of the Galaxy star had his first with ex-wife Anna Faris back in 2012. Pratt and Faris were married in 2009, but went their separate ways back in 2018 ahead of the actor meeting Katherine Schwarzenegger. They were apparently set up by Schwarzenegger’s mother Maria Shriver, who shared a mutual friend with Pratt. 

Next up, Chris Pratt will be wrapping up his time as Owen Grady in the Jurassic World movies with Dominion, set to come out this summer. The actor is currently filming the third Guardians of the Galaxy movie, set to wrap up the trilogy in 2022. The actor will also voice the titular video game character in the Super Mario movie and the role of Garfield the Cat in another animated project. 

Recent first-time grandfather Arnold Schwarzenegger will certainly be happy to hear the news. The Terminator actor has been an avid supporter of the couple and their growing family. But the latest round has me pretty impressed, though she had a little help from her husband Chris Pratt. 

Taking to Instagram, the mom of one shared a pretty photo that is optimal from all angles. There’s nature, there’s a lovely look at the celebrity mom and her tyke without giving her daughter’s face away. Oh and Pratt was involved this time to boot. He's actually the person who took the snap, so I guess he also deserves some brownie points here. Take a look. 

Of course, at some point, Lyla is going to have to go out in more of a public way, which typically makes this sort of game a little bit harder. Masks have helped during the era of Covid. But there are a lot of celebrity parents that are still unhappy with paparazzi trying to capture their children on film. Celebrities from Jennifer Garner -- who has worked on legislation to curb this practice -- and George Clooney -- who recently wrote an open letter about the problem -- have been vociferous about their dislike of their children becoming targets.

Of course, not all celebrity parents are opposed to sharing images of their children, particularly if it’s on their own terms. The Kardashian clan are famous for sharing their lives with their kids and even use them in varying marketing initiatives. Some celebrity parents are somewhere in the middle, particularly if their children are older and have veto power if their famous mom or dad wants to post an image online. 

Reese Witherspoon has occasionally shared photos of her (look-alike) teenaged daughter and son. And just ask Gwyneth Paltrow’s kid Apple how she felt when mom shared a particular look from a ski trip online.

The point is, much of a celebrity's engagement with their fanbases is online now and myriad celebrity parents in a variety of fields are figuring out how to share on their own terms. Honestly, does it really matter if they are sharing the face of their child or not? As long as we’re still getting in some “what’s my snack?” from Chris Pratt, I feel like we're getting the social content we all really need.

The first week of August is set aside every year to celebrate World Breastfeeding Week, during which mothers from all over the world make the decision to breastfeed their child(ren), and some celebrity moms used the celebratory week to speak out with their own stories in support of themselves and other celebrity moms. Warm Bodies star Teresa Palmer used the week to both acknowledge her amazing milestone of over 2700 days straight of breastfeeding, and stars like Katherine Schwarzenegger and Vinessa Shaw have shown their support for her incredible accomplishment.

In an inspiring Instagram post, Teresa Palmer shares many beautiful pictures of herself and her family while breastfeeding and she also explains her breastfeeding journey throughout the years, including both the bad and the good. Check out the post below:

Teresa Palmer says she has been nursing nonstop since having her first child back in 2014, and her journey including a number of tandem years as she continued to have children. She’s currently pregnant with her 4th child, and she will continue to nurse her daughter as well as the baby once her newest child is born.

Breastfeeding very rarely comes easy to mothers, even though it’s arguably the most natural thing a human can do. Women who attempt to nurse their children undergo both physical and mental obstacles. It can be incredibly painful and exhausting, and it requires women to give up their body autonomy in a time when they are emotionally vulnerable.

In her post, Teresa Palmer gives her love to the mothers who wanted to but were unable to fulfill their own breastfeeding journey, saying she was privileged enough to live out her own. She also reveals how much judgement she has faced from both the media and onlookers when out feeding her children over the years, which is a common occurrence for women who choose to nurse their kids.

The actress has received overwhelming support on her post from both fans and other celebrity moms. Katherine Schwarzenegger, wife and mother to Chris Pratt’s elusive daughter, shared her love for Palmer in a sweet comment on the actress' post:

It’s fair to say Arnold Schwarzenegger is a very blessed man. He’s had a great career, he’s one of the most beloved stars in Hollywood because of it and recently, he celebrated his 74th birthday. While there were surely fans who paid tribute to the action star and former governor on his special day, the sweetest tributes came from his children. His son, actor Patrick Schwarzenegger, managed to get in a nice tribute along with his siblings. However, he seems to have saved the best celebration for last, as he and dear old dad took part in some cigar fun.

Honestly, Patrick Schwarzenegger probably couldn’t have found a better way to help his father kick off his 74th year on this planet. And the fact that Schwarzenegger marked the post with Wiz Khalifa’s “We Dem Boyz” is a pretty nice touch.

Patrick Schwarzenegger seems to have a lot of respect for his famous father and, as the actor previously explained, his dad is actually the main reason he wanted to become an actor, too. However, the younger Schwarzenegger joked that he was only inspired to take up acting after seeing his dad thrive in the industry, despite not being the greatest actor. But even though Patrick seemingly wants to put more effort into his craft, he’s still taking cues from his father when it comes to getting ripped.

Arnold Schwarzenegger is sure to be proud of Patrick as well as his other children. Katherine Schwarzengger, his oldest child, is a successful author and is also married to actor Chris Pratt. And even sweeter, the couple made Schwarzenegger a grandfather last year when they welcomed their daughter, Lyla, who the public has yet to catch a glimpse of.

And Schwarzenegger’s other son, Joseph Baena, is likely also making his father proud, as he’s also on his way to becoming an actor. The young man is the spitting image of his pops, as evidenced by the Terminator 2 video he participated in a few years ago. But he’s forging his own path and may find his way into some big films, which hopefully includes a cowboy movie down the road.

Needless to say, Arnold Schwarzenegger has plenty to celebrate at the moment. The actor, bodybuilder and businessman has had his fair share of accomplishments over the years, but one would imagine that as he gets older, he takes more pride in his loving children and their achievements.

This one is also pretty sweet but definitely makes me feel a little guilty that a man in his 70s is putting in way more work in the gym than I am. In the caption, Patrick Schwarzenegger says he hopes he is half as strong as his father when he is his age, and he includes a video in which the action star is lifting an impressive amount of weights:

Surprise, another of Arnold Schwarzenegger’s children have wished the icon a happy birthday as well! While there may not be some long and heartwarming caption like on her siblings’ posts, the fact that his youngest daughter still calls Schwarzenegger “daddy” is just so sweet! I honestly can’t get enough of the Schwarzenegger family. While all of Arnold Schwarzenegger’s children are grown and following their own paths, it’s very cool to see them still look to their father and show him love as a family.

Who says true love doesn’t exist? It certainly seems to in Katherine Schwarzenegger and Chris Pratt’s case. The two have been married for two years and have been pretty much inseparable since. Before they met though, Schwarzenegger apparently almost chose another Chris over her now husband in The Great Chris Debate. In a posted throwback interview with Access Hollywood, Schwarzenegger was asked to weigh in on the ongoing debate of “best Chris,” which is when the moment in question occurred. Honestly, this is pretty adorable, and it really shows just how long Katherine Schwarzenegger was crushing on Chris Pratt. Her knee-jerk reaction to the question of “Best Chris” was Chris Evans but, after a moment of thought, she went with Pratt. While it may be argued that he was an afterthought, it really didn’t seem to take much convincing for Schwarzenegger to change her immediate answer.

What’s kind of crazy about the clip, though, is that Katherine Schwarzenegger ends her answer with an almost psychic “You never know.” But apparently, the universe knew, because it slapped the two together for a pretty picture-perfect relationship.

It has to be pretty satisfying and heartwarming for Chris Pratt to know that his wife had picked him over men like Chris Evans and Chris Hemsworth far before they even met, because they aren’t exactly easy men to beat on that front. One fan in the comments of the seems to be thinking along the same lines, they related the video back to when Pratt starred Parks and Rec and his character, Andy, told on-screen wife April that she had had a crush on him back in the day and that it must be embarrassing for her. April responded with, “We’re married,” before Andy then said, “Still.”

Chris Pratt's sense of humor falls right in line with that of Andy's, so I wouldn't be surprised if such a conversation actually played out between him and real-life hubby Katherine Schwarzenegger. And let's be honest, many enjoy Pratt's sense of humor, so that may have been one reason his wife was drawn to him in the first place.

While there still is some friendly competition in the whole “which Chris is the best Chris” argument, this may be the only real win Chris Pratt cares about, because he ended up getting the girl! Chris Evans still has his dogs, though, and that’s awesome, too!

There are more than a few reasons to be impressed by The Tomorrow War. If you like movies where guys fire machine guns and a nearly constant pace, it has that. If you like creative alien creature designs, the look of the white spikes is pretty cool. If you're a fan of Chris Pratt, then you kinda need to see it. But even if you don't care about any of those things, you might want to watch The Tomorrow War anyway, just to get a look at J.K. Simmons' arms. They're so amazing even the Schwarzenegger family is impressed.

J.K. Simmons plays the father of Chris Pratt's character in The Tomorrow War. He's a Vietnam vet who has become estranged from his son since coming home. It's unclear exactly what he's been doing in the years since, but he's certainly kept himself in fighting shape because Simmons looks absolutely amazing. He looks like he could fight one of the vicious alien creatures with his bare hands. And the actor received some amazing compliments on his physique from somebody who would know. According to USA Today, Chris Pratt relayed his wife's thoughts to the actor, which were "Oh, my God, J.K. Simmons is jacked." Simmons response was...

Katherine Schwarzenegger, being Arnold's daughter, would certainly know jacked when she sees it. Her father was able to built an incredible professional life that started with him as a professional bodybuilder. He transitioned that into a career as one of the biggest action movie stars of the 80s and 90s. If Arnold's daughter is impressed, then J.K. Simmons has every reason to be feeling good.

It's always impressive to see what actors can accomplish when they put the time and the work in for a role. While it might make some of us feel like we really need to go the gym more often, it's also somewhat inspiring as it shows that it really can be done. If you put the work in and stick with it you can absolutely transform yourself. J.K. Simmons has never really been obviously out of shape, but when he looks like this he looks like a whole different person.

We'll have to wait and see if J.K. Simmons decides to keep this particular build going forward. While it's likely a lot of work, it sounds like Simmons appreciates the compliments he gets from it. None of his upcoming roles would necessarily require him to be this bulked up, but at the same time none of them would necessarily require him to lose the muscles either. If you haven't seen J.K. Simmons go full action hero, The Tomorrow War will always be there on Amazon Prime Video so fans can experience, or reexperience, a super jacked J.K. Simmons.

Chris Pratt is a man of many pastimes. At the very least we know he’s great at describing snacks and killing time on movie sets. He’s apparently interested in golf, though that seems to be more of a love/hate relationship. Apparently, when he’s at home, he even occasionally engages in home improvement projects. His wife Katherine Schwarzenegger recently even caught him pretending he was Tim Allen’s Tim ‘The Tool Man’ Taylor’ while he got his hands a little dirty. Take a look.

I mean, I guess I can see Chris Pratt as a handy guy, particularly now that I’ve seen him covered in wall dust and prepping a wall to (presumably) hang something for his lovely wife of two years. I mention this because their anniversary was actually last month (June 8). It’s a little late, but I will just note fixing stuff around the house could make a pretty thoughtful gift for an anniversary. I bet he’s pretty happy after all his hard work that now this Instagram Stories image is rolling around the Internet, too.

Getting back to the Home Improvement reference, it's surprisingly a timely one. While the show aired in the '90s, Tim Allen's other series Last Man Standing just ended its lengthy run during Season 9 and even featured an episode where Mike Baxter met Tim Taylor. At the time, the showrunner said they wanted to leave the possibility open for more from the character, you know, in case a Tim ‘The Tool Man’ Taylor project came down the pipeline sometime soon. That’s an epic tease that 100% hasn’t panned out yet, but Home Improvement still has a pretty large fanbase after all these years.

Now that I can’t unsee this, I sort of feel like maybe a Home Improvement reboot should be in the cards. Or at the very least, maybe Pratt and Tim Allen need to team up for something down the line. Just me?

To note, Chris Pratt was formerly a TV actor, having gotten a notable start on Parks and Rec before getting fit for the big screen. While Pratt is busy with big screen ventures, he's not opposed to TV and has been hard at work on Amazon's The Terminal List. Plus, I am a little obsessed both with a revival and with a world where Pratt and Tim Allen could appear in the same project together. They do both have that Pixar connection, with Allen being the longtime voice of Buzz Lightyear (though he was recently replaced by Chris Evans for an upcoming project) and Pratt starring in Onward last year.

With The Tomorrow War out on Amazon Prime, Chris Pratt’s had a pretty active weekend on social media, even thanking the fans for making the movie #1. However, if he does more stuff around the house to impress his famous wife, we’ll be sure to keep you updated. And who knows, perhaps we’ll see another Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 update crop up soon?

Father’s Day is a holiday that, while not celebrated in a federal capacity, holds a very important purpose for those who celebrate. Gift exchanges, events, and well wishes are usually dished out aplenty and, in the case of recent mom Katherine Schwarzenegger, she got to deploy that last part twice over. Not only did she get to wish a happy Father’s Day to her own father, Arnold Schwarzenegger, she also gave similarly warm wishes to her husband, and father in his own right, Chris Pratt.

Another common thread to both of these Father’s Day posts, besides the fact that Arnold and Chris are both fathers, is the fact that they both get to play influential roles in the life of Lyla Marie Pratt. Starting with her Instagram message to her own father, Katherine Schwarzenegger spoke of the joy she felt as Arnold’s daughter, as well as the happiness she feels watching him grow as a grandfather. Fans have been clamoring to get a peak at the baby girl, but Schwarzenegger and Pratt have yet to reveal her little face. Schwarzenegger did, however, recently showed off an adorable baby’s face on Instagram -- it just wasn’t her daughter’s.

Katherine Schwarzenegger may not be ready to show off her little one just yet, but she couldn’t help but gush over her best friend’s little boy. In an Instagram post, Schwarzenegger explained that the adorable little guy was born six months apart from her Lyla, and she’s loving that she can plan playdates and outfits for the two, among other things. It definitely looks like Katherine Schwarzenegger is infatuated with the baby and, based on the comments, fans seem to be in love as well. However, it would appear that many can’t help but point out that they’ve still yet to see Schwarzenegger’s own child on her social media accounts. One user gushed over the photo but still inquired about Lyla:

Chris Pratt’s Instagram post shouldn’t be surprising given the actor has been hyping The Tomorrow War for weeks now. He even said the film was money well-spent by Amazon after the company acquired the sci-fi time-traveling film from Paramount Pictures. His push for the film does echo his usual enthusiasm for many of his projects despite an awkward discovery making the film.

But Pratt’s enthusiasm for The Tomorrow War is great given the uphill battle it has faced over the last year. Rumblings about the action film coming to streaming began earlier this year before the official Prime Video announcement. During a recent appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, Arnold Schwarzenegger and Kimmel himself got to talking about baby stuff, changing diapers and the like. As it turns out, Schwarzenegger said he really was a hands-on dad, but when it comes to grandparenting, things haven't gone the same way.

To be clear, Arnold Schwarzenegger was pretty bemused while telling Jimmy Kimmel he didn’t do much to keep up baby Lyla’s well-being, so this doesn’t seem to be a source of friction between himself and his daughter or anything. Honestly, being a grandparent instead of a parent already comes with a lot of perks and if he never has to change diapers on top of all those perks, I’d say The Terminator actor is living pretty well these days. In the past, Katherine Schwarzenegger has spoken about the magical childhood she was able to enjoy despite the fact Maria Shriver and Arnold Schwarzenegger were both famous individuals. She’s taken a lot from her childhood experiences and has begun modeling Lyla’s life around lessons she learned about parenting from her own parents, so it’s clear she values what her famous dad gave her. It's true too that Arnold’s been around since baby Lyla was born. Last month, Pratt posted a birthday tribute to Schwarzenegger, which included a number of different photos. One showed her with Lyla, but Pratt cheekly covered her face with a picture of Santa Clause. You have to appreciate that he got festive with that one.

With Lyla still being so young, it’s completely understandable that the couple wouldn’t be keen on showing her face to the public. There may come a time when this changes but, ultimately, it is their right to manage the level of visibility their child has within the public eye.

When the two aren’t doing their best to keep Lyla’s face hidden, they’re simply enjoying each other’s company. Pratt and Schwarzenegger probably would have never imagined that they’d be facing a global pandemic a year into their marriage. Arnold Schwarzenegger and his new(ish) son-in-law Chris Pratt have seemed to get along pretty well in the time since he started wooing the famous actor’s daughter, Katherine Schwarzenegger. However, this week during a Kindergarten Cop reunion, the actor admitted that he never thought Katherine would end up with an actor, and his famous flick Terminator 2 is to blame for this impression.

Apparently, when Arnold Schwarzenegger was at the height of his fame, he used to bring then-wife Maria Shriver and their kids to the sets of some of his big movies. Katherine Schwarzenegger never took it well, and he recalled during Yahoo’s Kindergarten Cop reunion that Katherine never really preferred going to movie sets and seeing her famous dad at work.

More specifically, Arnold Schwarzenegger recalled one set incident on the second Terminator film that really stuck out to him. Katherine Schwarzenegger and her mom had come to visit the set of Terminator 2 and experienced her dad in all of his wild makeup for the movie, which didn't go over well.

It wasn’t just Katherine Schwarzenegger whom he thought would avoid actors. Another story about the set of True Lies detailed his other daughter Christina freaking out when her dad was shot at as part of that movie’s plot. With all these remembrances in mind, at the end of the day, he really just never saw Katherine going for an actor. That is, until Chris Pratt came along.

The two met through Maria Shriver and started dating publicly in 2018. They married in 2019 and just had a little one, a girl named Lyla Maria Schwarzenegger Pratt, earlier this year.

Marrying an actor does still come with its challenges. Katherine Schwarzenegger’s brother Patrick Schwarzenegger detailed earlier this year that it was a challenge for his sister at home while Chris Pratt was off and filming Jurassic World: Dominion in 2020. The actor called the experience of being at home with a little one and in isolation during Covid-19 “tough” on his sister while the movie filmed. Luckily it has wrapped now, though Chris Pratt is still quite in-demand as an actor and has work on Thor: Love and Thunder in the works.

All in all, Arnold Schwarzenegger seems happy his daughter landed with an actor, even if she may still have nightmares from the sets of the films she grew up on. The good news is that Chris Pratt hasn’t had to deal with too-wild makeup on set yet. So perhaps he'll be able to spare Lyla and his son Jack (with Anna Faris) a similar experience.

For example, when Lyla Maria Schwarzenegger Pratt was born, the couple did present the public with a baby photo. However, the image was only a close-up of the baby’s hand intertwined with mom and dad’s. Still adorable, but serves the dual function of also keeping little Lyla’s life private.

Other celebrities, like former Glee actress Lea Michele, have also followed this trend. Though Michele is constantly sharing activities she’s doing with her baby Ever Leo Reich, the kid’s face is never included. That may not change for some time. In fact, older Mama Gwyneth Paltrow revealed this year that she has a pact with her kids about what she can and cannot share featuring them to her social media.

In that case, Gwyneth Paltrow accidentally shared a skiing photo her daughter Apple Martin was not particularly happy with. Martin called out her her mom on social media and Paltrow later explained she tries to make sure her kids are looped in. They can’t help having famous parents, but they can control their own narrative.

Having said this, I’m sure those close to Chris Pratt and Katherine Schwarzenegger have been able to get more up close and personal with the little one. Plus Schwarzenegger has not been shy about sharing her own throwback photos from when she was a baby with famous mom Maria Shriver, if you want some hint about what Lyla might look like. Chris Pratt's never been one for sharing a lot about his kids, though every once and awhile his son Jack from his marriage to Anna Faris features in a post. Eventually we'll likely know a little more about Lyla, but for now we'll just have to keep tabs on her famous parents.

Photos went around on the Internet this week featuring Maria Shriver celebrating with a very innocuous cake with sprinkles on it. However, according to Patrick Schwarzenegger there was also a joke cake featuring imagery from Lenny Kravitz on the cover of Men’s Health just a few weeks ago. He told Andy Cohen:

Weirdly, the reason Patrick Schwarzenegger told this story on Watch What Happens live is because Andy Cohen mentioned recently that the always-delightful Hoda Kotb was trying to hook up Lenny Kravitz with Maria Shriver while on the talk show. Cohen asked if the cake joke had happened because of Hoda’s comments, but hilariously it was unrelated. Her kids had just seen Lenny’s abs on the cover of Men’s Health and thought it would make for a great birthday cake topping.

Look, Lenny Kravitz isn’t the only dude in Hollywood notable for his career and his abs, but abs are certainly a part of the singer's brand identity. They were front and center on the cover of his 10th studio album Strut and teased on several of his other albums, including his Greatest Hits. Patrick Schwarzenegger also did an interview with Today this week (another Hoda connection) where he talked about how his mom is a stickler for manners and rules, so it’s a little surprising this was the type of joke her kids would pull for her birthday. However, given her son’s comments, it seems she took the cake pretty well, even if she did find the whole thing embarrassing.

Now, I just hope that cake picture makes it out into the universe some day. Meanwhile, Lenny, if you’re out there reading this, Patrick Schwarzenegger does believe you could very well be a good fit for his mom. Just relaying that bit of info.

There was big news in Chris Pratt and Katherine Schwarzenegger’s household this past week as the happy couple welcomed their first baby together, a little girl they named Lyla. The news and subsequent announcement post were both adorable, but there were some unanswered questions related to the birth of the baby. Namely, what the heck did that mean for Chris Pratt and Jurassic World: Dominion?

Well now we have some answers. Tucked away in a New York Times interview about safety protocols on one of the biggest movies that is currently filming right now, was talk of Chris Pratt and what the outlet called a “complication.” Obviously, the third Jurassic World film needed to get back to filming as soon as it was safely able, but due to shutdowns and reopenings, Chris Pratt was seen back at work with his co-star Bryce Dallas Howard just before the birth of his newborn with Katherine Schwarzenegger.

You know what I’m talking about. Bryce Dallas Howard and Chris Pratt shared looks at doing stunts on the set of Jurassic World: Dominion. Howard was even egged on by Pratt to share the look with fans, given there’s not a lot that is fair game to share right now and also those bruises were just badass. But then he was expected in California for the birth of his baby just a short time later. How could this safely be worked out?

Apparently, Universal worked with the British government to get film actors deemed “essential” workers so that they could come into the country and get to work immediately rather than the 14-day quarantine period that is a must for most people getting on an airplane and traveling from country to country right now. Which is how Chris Pratt will be able to get back to work shortly after travel coming up.

Initially, after Bryce Dallas Howard, Chris Pratt and the rest of the gang filmed for three weeks, Pratt left the set and returned home—just in time to be with his wife and their little one. He’s due back on set in September and will film in both Malta and at Pinewood Studios, where the majority of Jurassic World: Dominion will be shot. Presumably, the scheduling was worked out so the movie could film other scenes during his weeks-long absence from set.

Going straight from a plane to a set might seem a little iffy, but actors who are spending more time in close quarters are getting tested constantly. Three times a week, in fact. There are other rigorous safety protocols in place, but this is certainly a little different than how the NBA is handling quarantine if for any familial reason a player has to exit the bubble in Orlando. So, hopefully all strategies will be effective and entertainment can remain safe.

Meanwhile, it’s great that both Jurassic World: Dominion was able to keep filming at Pinewood Studios and that the movie was able to accommodate Chris Pratt leaving for the baby’s birth due to very clear safety precautions and plans. He’s contractually obligated to film the movie, but no one wants to miss the birth of the kid, even if it means crazy travel during a crazy time.

As for Jurassic World: Dominion, the movie schedule has changed quite a bit in recent months, but right now the movie is on track to hit its June 11, 2021 release. By then, Chris Pratt's baby won't even be a baby anymore!

The Jurassic World actor officially announced the birth of his newborn daughter Lyla Maria Schwarzenegger Pratt on Monday after he and his family were spotted at a Santa Monica hospital over the weekend. Lyla’s birth is exciting news for the Pratts and Schwarzeneggers just over a year after the A-list leading man tied the knot with Katherine Schwarzenegger last summer. And yes, Pratt's ex-wife, Anna Faris, is reportedly pretty excited too.

The Scary Movie comedy actress split up with Chris Pratt three years ago, but the pair are still parents to their 7-year-old son Jack and remain on good terms. In light of Chris Pratt welcoming his first baby girl, Anna Faris reportedly “congratulated him and sent a gift,” per E! Online. The source detailed that Faris is happy for her son to be a big brother and remains supportive of her ex-husband’s life. How sweet!

Katherine’s parents were seen at the hospital where Lyla was born and “were waiting at home the moment she got there to meet the baby.”

Anna Faris and Chris Pratt were married for eight years before separating in 2017. Pratt met the now 30-year-old Katherine Schwarzenegger in church back in 2018, and they got married about a year later. Faris has opened about her ex’s new relationship before, once explaining that he called her up before proposing to the journalist and author. Anna Faris is in a new relationship of her own since her divorce; she is engaged to cinematographer Michael Barrett, who she met on the set of Overboard.

According to their initial divorce details, the former couple agreed to live no further than five miles apart from one another at least until 2023. Both Anna Faris and Chris Pratt are clearly devoted parents to their shared son Jack, and news of Lyla could mean more quality time spent between families to get Jack acquainted with his baby sibling.

Per the outlet, Arnold was even smoking one of his famous cigars as he left, doubtless to celebrate.

This is 30-year-old Katherine Schwarzenegger’s first child. Chris Pratt, 41, shares a son, Jack, with his former wife Anna Faris. Jack was born in 2012.

The news comes just a few days after Chris Pratt did take to social media to share a snap of himself and his wife hiking. Of course, Katherine Schwarzenegger looked close to the end of her pregnancy in the photo and he joked about not wanting her to have the baby on the trail. We didn’t know exactly when the baby was due, but as it turns out that “joke” may have been more of a possibility than we initially thought.

Chris Pratt and Katherine Schwarzenegger tied the knot in June of last year. Pratt has been open that he and his new wife want a whole passel of kids, saying previously he also sees less work as an actor in his future.

Meanwhile, Pratt has been busy at work on the set of Jurassic World: Dominion, which was delayed due to the coronavirus earlier this year. Productions globally seem to be ramping up again and going back to work with new safety precautions in place. In fact, Katherine Schwarzenegger is already confirmed to be in her third trimester, and some reports indicate the baby is expected this fall. Recently, her famous dad Arnold Schwarzenegger also revealed it might be this summer, literally noting, ‘sometime this summer’ on The Tonight Show. So, Chris Pratt joking on his Instagram Stories about her birthing on the trail may not be all that off topic. Take a look.

Still, reports have indicated Schwarzenegger has kept really active during her pregnancy and activities like hiking are totally fine for pregnant ladies. In fact, while pregnancy does require some lifestyle changes most of the time (no sushi!), if there’s an exercise activity a pregnant woman was doing before pregnancy it’s usually fine during pregnancy.

Katherine Schwarzenegger was open about her love of exercise even before her pregnancy, advocating for plenty of yoga, pilates and kickboxing classes pre-quarantine. But it’s also notable that Chris Pratt isn’t wrong and that exercise can legit induce labor, thus adding a little edge to this joke. Regardless, if it had happened that way, that would be a story they’d tell forever.

Obviously, we’ll keep you posted whenever Baby Pratt/Schwarzenegger is born, but it's only one of two big events Chris Pratt has coming up, the other being the release of the third Jurassic World film. The baby event is definitely more exciting, as it’s been clear since Chris Pratt’s relationship got serious with Katherine Schwarzenegger that more kids would be in his future. In fact, the issue of kids may have been a contributing factor to his initial split from Anna Faris.

Right now, Chris Pratt shares son Jack with Anna Faris and then a new baby is on the way with Katherine Schwarzenegger. Here’s hoping they continue to expand their brood. As Pratt admitted some months ago, “lots of kids” are his expectations for the future. Two is a pretty good start.

Something that pretty much everyone does now when talking to someone for the first time, or for the first time in a long time, is ask how that person has been doing with...everything. The past several months have been rough in a lot of ways for pretty much everyone, and between the toilet paper shortages and inability to go out and do even the most basic things without covering half of our faces, we've all also had to deal with quarantine. Luckily, though, Katherine Schwarzenegger has found a "blessing" in all of this extended time with husband Chris Pratt.

Katherine Schwarzenegger and Chris Pratt's romance has been on the fast track the past couple of years, with the duo marrying in June 2019, after about a year of dating, and then announcing their first child together in April of this year. Being a newlywed can be tough enough, but being a newlywed while expecting a baby and having to deal with the conditions of a pandemic is even harder. But, Schwarzenegger says that she's been able to find some true bright spots while quarantining with Pratt, as she told Entertainment Tonight:

Awwww. I have to admit, when Katherine Schwarzenegger said she'd spent a lot of time baking, my mind immediately went to things which I would consider far more satisfying than granola. Brownies, pies, bars, cakes...I don't know. Can a sister get a cookie, Katherine?

Well, I suppose I'm looking at quarantine baking from the perspective of a person who will not (at some point, hopefully soon) be returning to work as a major motion picture action star, so I guess granola does sound more like the order of the day when it comes to baking. Mr. Pratt has to keep that core engaged at all times, lest he have a flabby mountain to climb once filming resumes.

At any rate, getting family requests for granola seems like a big deal to me, because, honestly, who really loves granola? So, while Schwarzenegger also noted during her interview that she's been doing a lot of cleaning and organizing, especially in the kitchen, it sounds like she's already got Top Chef level granola skills.

You might have noticed that while Schwarzenegger is handling the baking, Chris Pratt is the man with the plan when it comes to cooking the meals, and has been handling a lot of that for the couple during lockdown. This makes a lot of sense, because, as mentioned prior, he and most other film and TV stars (particularly the ones whose work depends on them being as physically fit and healthy as possible) are likely looking to stay in shape as much as they can during this unexpected down time. And, we all know you can't do that super easily if you're eating crazy stuff all the time.

Katherine Schwarzenegger also copped to not being the best at cooking, so one of the positives for her in quarantine has been getting to up her game in that area, thanks to her husband:

It’s no secret that Chris Pratt is a big family guy and wants more kids. Chris Pratt has been pretty open about all things Marvel lately, given the Guardians of the Galaxy watch party that recently went down. However, while he may be an open book when it comes to Marvel questions, he and Katherine Schwarzenegger haven’t officially revealed the expectancy yet.

What has happened is multiple sources have confirmed to outlets like E! and People the pregnancy is the real deal and photos were even taking of the mom-to-be out bike riding with a cute pregnancy belly over the weekend. So it seems fairly clear Chris Pratt's about to be a new dad again, though he and Katherine Schwarzenegger are staying mum. This means we don’t know much about when to expect a brand new baby or what gender the baby will be. Which is cool, if they aren’t ready to share their baby-to-be with the world yet, that’s their right.

It’s in fact a little bit of a shame the element of surprise may be gone when they do officially share the news. To me, there was nothing more exciting than when Cameron Diaz dropped the surprise post that she and Benji Madden had a baby on Instagram, after the fact. It was a pretty fascinating way of doing things.

After Chris Pratt’s split from Anna Faris in 2017, he started dating Katherine Schwarzenegger and the couple was engaged at the tail end of 2018 and married in June of 2019. They’ve been pretty keen to share moments of their lives on social media, even showing fans a photo of their wedding, so there’s a good chance we’ll get some official baby announcement at some point.
