Twilight is well known to have one of the most dedicated fanbases in film and books. When it was announced that the Stephanie Meyers’ vampire saga would become a book to screen adaptation, the series already had a huge cult following. The now well-known actors who signed onto the project didn’t quite understand the level of Twilight craze at the time. Kellan Lutz, who played Emmett Cullen, revealed the reality check he had when fans started barging into his hotel room.

The Legend of Hercules actor recently reunited with his Twilight brethren, Peter Facinelli (Carlisle) and Jackson Rathbone (Jasper), at the San Francisco Fan Expo. The three Cullens chopped it up on stage, reminiscing about the early days of filming the first Twilight movie, nearly two decades ago. It turns out Twilight fans found the vampire actors’ hotel rooms while they were filming the first film. Lutz hilariously admitted that he didn’t know any better, and let them in:

The Nurse Jackie vet, who had been making movies about a decade longer than Lutz, said he had to sit the young actor down for a little chat, father to son, and let the Extraction actor know it wasn’t a good look to be letting fans into his hotel room, even if they have candy. Lutz innocently was a bit naive back then, saying:

It doesn’t surprise me that Twilight fans had the audacity to barge into Lutz’s hotel room. Had the Arena actor not turned down the chance to play Edward, the fan attention would surely have been way more intrusive than just a knock on his door, but based on the full clip, Lutz probably would have handled it well:

Historically, Twihards haven’t been great with respecting boundaries of the actors, specifically the personal lives of stars Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson. That’s not ideal, but most fans really don’t seem to have any ill will, and the Twilight actors have been very appreciative of their loyal following over the years. Almost two decades later, Robert Pattinson says he still gets asked about the cultural phenomenon everyday.

Some of the OG Twilight actors would be down to reprise their fanged supernatural roles. Perhaps Netflix’s upcoming animated adaptation of Midnight Sun, the retelling of Twilight from Edward’s perspective, will offer that opportunity. Lutz, Facinelli, Rathbone, and Ashley Greene (Alice) revealed a couple months ago at Motor City Comic Con that they had reached out to the people at Netflix about returning to voice their OG characters, but couldn’t even get an audition, with the streaming giant saying they were going in a different direction.

That is honestly so disappointing to hear, as I always enjoy seeing these actors interact with the Twihard fans. Unlike possibly new young actors, Lutz and the other Cullens clearly are very experienced in dealing with the Twilight craze that is inevitably going to reignite with full force, even if it didn’t start out that way initially for Lutz. I personally hope the executive producers on the project change their mind and include the original Cullen clan.

While we don’t know when, sometime in the future, you’ll be able to see a new adaptation of Stephenie Meyer’s Twilight with a Netflix subscription. In early 2024, Lionsgate announced they were making an animated series based on the vampire phenomenon, and months later, it was shared that it would be a Netflix project. If you were hoping to hear the original voices behind the movies, it sounds like that’s off the table per recent comments from the cast.

Peter Facinelli (Carlisle), Ashley Greene (Alice), Kellan Lutz (Emmett) and Jackson Rathbone (Jasper) of the original Twilight cast reunited with fans at Motor City Comic Con in Michigan last week. During a panel discussion hosted by ScreenRant, they revealed they tried and failed to get involved in the series, which is an adaptation specifically of Midnight Sun. As Rathbone revealed:

What? If you’re a Twilight fan, you know that Midnight Sun is the original Twilight story, but from the perspective of Edward Cullen instead of Bella Swan. With that in mind, it features his vampire clan a lot more than the original story, and could have been a great opportunity for these supporting actors to get more time to tell their iconic characters’ stories.

During the panel, Rathbone shared that he and his co-stars actually learned about the existence of the in-development TV show from fans, and even knows someone who auditioned for it. However, when they reached out to the powers that be about getting involved, they were shut down. No casting announcements have been made for the Twilight TV show, but we suspect Netflix wants to go in a new direction with this series. Facinelli had this to say:

While the actor behind Carlisle is understandably disappointed, he also said he’s “sure it'll be great in its own right." Ashley Greene also offered support for whoever takes over their roles, saying, “We wish them the best". The Alice Cullen actress hilariously said, “We still sound so young!" before her sweet and professional comments.

A new era of Twilight cast members may be upon us, but these actors will never not be famous for playing the roles in the original movies. Taylor Lautner is doing a show called Werewolf Hunter and Kristen Stewart is about to be in a new vampire movie. The five-film saga recently came back to theaters as the book series turned just 20, and the Cullen Clan continues to keep busy going to all sorts of fan-centric conventions, past the Michigan appearance.

So, while they might not be the new project, at least they are all still staying connected to the franchise and the genre.

These days, when you think of the cast of Twilight, Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart are probably the first names to come to mind since they played the leads, Edward Cullen and Bella Swan. However, imagine if Kellan Lutz, who had a supporting role in the franchise as Emmett Cullen, was the lead instead. It'd be different, right? Well, it turns out there was a possibility for it to be a reality, as Lutz revealed that he had the chance to portray Edward. However, he also explained why he said no.

There were plenty of dashing actors in line to play Twilight’s Edward Cullen, like Ben Barnes, Shiloh Fernandez, and Josh Peck, who were finalists. Even the book's author, Stephenie Meyer, would have picked Henry Cavill if he hadn’t aged out by the time casting was done. But as we know, Robert Pattinson ultimately led The Twilight Saga as Edward, a breakout role that earned him international fame.

However, back when auditions were happening, Emmett actor Kellan Lutz had the chance to audition for Edward, and he explained why turning it down seemed like a good idea at the time during a Fan Expo panel (via EW) with co-star Jackson Rathbone:

I completely understand why Kellan Lutz wasn’t in the right frame of mind to audition for Edward. Since Generation Kill was an HBO TV show about life in the military, he didn't want to take on anything heavy. And while Twilight certainly isn't the same as Generation Kill, it is very dramatic and serious.

So, with Emmett getting to take part in fun scenes like the iconic Cullen baseball game or arm-wrestling with Bella, a role like that would indeed be a nice change of pace.

While we know the Twilight films are great movies about young love, we also learn from Edward that being a vampire is more than just being super speedy and reading thoughts. The Stick It actor explained that he found something in the brooding vampire that made him turn in the other direction:

There’s no doubt that Edward Cullen was a moody role. Having to be 17 for 90 years because of a choice made by his vampire doctor, Edward was forced to watch his foster siblings find love while all living under the same roof. Not to mention having to live a “vegetarian” lifestyle of drinking animal blood and staying away from sunlight has to be hard.

Not every actor wants to dive into the inner struggles of eternal youth. Especially when the thought of having to be that “depressing” for “multiple” movies seemingly scared Kellan Lutz. All the more reason why Emmett was the perfect fit for the talented actor in the Twilight movies.

While the FBI: Most Wanted actor turned down the offer for Edward, it didn’t mean there wasn’t room for him in the Cullen Clan. Lutz gave his honest take on what intrigued him about playing Edward’s foster brother, as well, saying:

Yes, Emmett really did “eat” up his lines like a pro. He was probably the one standout character who acted more human and modern than his vampire siblings. And, we gotta give the Cullen Clan member props for delivering the franchise’s surprisingly funny quotes.

I still laugh rewatching the part where Emmett said Edward’s new girlfriend would love the Italian food his family made for her because her name is Bella, as well as his wedding toast to her of not “getting any more [sleep] for a while” in her marriage. Yeah, you gotta love him.

While it would have been interesting to have seen Kellan Lutz’s take on Edward Cullen, I understand why he turned down the audition for him. To go from playing a military man during the invasion of Iraq to a “depressed” vampire is reasonably not the career move he wanted to make.

But that’s probably all the more reason why playing Emmett was like a breath of fresh air to the actor in bringing light to a dark storyline about forbidden love. He showed a different side of his range while still stepping into Stephenie Meyer’s world.

What do actors and models have in common? Well, for the most part, having “the look” will get you in the door in either profession rather quickly. However, for the purposes of the list you’re about to peruse, it just so happens that these Hollywood stars managed to work both sides of that scenario. And as expected, these models-turned-actors have done so with style. 

Mark Wahlberg

Before starring in movies ranging from Boogie Nights to The Family Plan, Mark Wahlberg was known as a rapper and a Calvin Klein model. Showing off his buff body in underwear ads helped give the aspiring star his start in the entertainment industry, with Mark shifting into acting just as his boy-band brother Donnie eventually did. 

Rebecca Romijn

In a career that saw her on Vogue magazine covers and in Victoria’s Secret campaigns, Rebecca Romijn put the “super” in “supermodel.” And then, in a move that only further strengthened that statement, she took her first acting gig as Mystique in X-Men, kickstarting a career that’s led to such fantastic parts as that of Number One on Star Trek: Strange New Worlds. 

Tyrese Gibson

Ads for Coca-Cola, Guess, and Tommy Hilfiger had Tyrese Gibson primed for stardom, and gigs on TV shows like Hangin’ with Mr. Cooper and Martin soon followed. But depending on who you ask, it was either Baby Boy or 2 Fast 2 Furious that caused Gibson’s star to rise to the heights it’s at today. 

Halle Berry

It’s no surprise that Halle Berry did some modeling in her entertainment career, as her beauty has always been well renowned. But rather than going for traditional ad campaign work, the future star of X-Men and James Bond movies was a contestant in both the Miss USA and Miss World pageants. 

Jamie Dornan

Prepare for a rollercoaster ride, folks. Jamie Dornan, actor known for everything from Fifty Shades of Grey to A Haunting in Venice, was not only a model…he was part of a reality show that helped get him the gig. Channel 4’s Model Behaviour led to some gigs with Abercrombie & Fitch and Tommy Hilfiger, which eventually made way for Dornan to be discovered by Sofia Coppola’s Marie Antoinette. 

Cara Delevingne

We’ve seen Cara Delevingne do everything from John Green adaptations like Paper Towns to DCEU juggernauts such as Suicide Squad. And with a foundation of modeling for Vogue Italia, Tory Burch, and Donna Karan under her belt, the American Horror Story: Delicate star never really gave up her day job, as her modeling continued along with her acting efforts.

Channing Tatum

There was probably a time when people staring at random Armani ads featuring Channing Tatum thought, “I wonder if he can act?” With a resume that has titles like Magic Mike, 21 Jump Street, and Foxcatcher  to boast about, it’s probably safe to say that the answer is a confident “Yes!”

Jaime King

As a young model, Jaime King saw herself making a splash with Vogue, Seventeen, and pretty much any other fashion publication of note you could think of. 2001’s Happy Campers was all it took to help her jump into the acting world, which saw her play some impressive parts in Sin City’s screen adaptation, Fox’s The O.C., and even the voice of Solus Prime in the series Transformers: Power of the Primes.

Shemar Moore

S.W.A.T. star and all around heartthrob Shemar Moore actually had his own moment in the spotlight of modeling. Through catalog jobs with Macy’s and magazine shoots for GQ, among other opportunities, this man of action continues to engage in some modeling here and there; which only brings his fans that much more joy. 

Devon Aoki

Movie fans might recognize Devon Aoki from her standout roles in both Sin City and 2 Fast 2 Furious, but believe it or not her modeling career is the stronger of the two streams she’s dipped her toes into. Brands and magazines alike have showcased her talents in the industry, with Balenciaga and Harper’s Bazaar calling themselves a part of her storied body of work.

James Marsden

Jury Duty and Sonic the Hedgehog star James Marsden feels like the type of guy that’d be a model, right? How couldn’t he, with a smile like that? Well, if the world didn’t know it before his 2011 interview on Ellen, Ms. DeGeneres helped bring that aspect of his career to light; along with the pictures to prove it.

Gal Gadot

Jaguar, Maxim, and Gucci are only some of the brands and publications that Fast Saga star Gal Gadot has modeled for. This Heart of Stone lead eventually saw herself courted by Hollywood in the early-Aughts, thanks to auditions for Quantum of Solace that saw Gal compete with Olga Kurylenko for the role of Bond woman Camille. 

Antonio Sabàto Jr.

Calvin Klein was the name of the brand that gave actor Antonio Sabàto Jr. his start in the public eye, as underwear modeling was his first claim to fame. Eventually, projects like General Hospital, Earth 2, and even a Janet Jackson music video would see Antonio becoming an acting talent that continued to capitalize on their dreamy good looks. 

Charlize Theron

Even after winning her first Academy Award for Monster, and landing big ticket franchise like the Fast Saga, Charlize Theron still managed to fit in some modeling for Dior into her busy schedule. Which is absolutely fitting, considering that Theron got a jump start on her entertainment resume as a teen model throughout Europe in the ‘90s.

Mehcad Brooks

Fans of Law & Order and Supergirl’s Mehcad Brooks may want to brace themselves for what we’re about to tell them. Before Mr. Brooks was a part of worlds where superheroes and top cops reign supreme, he made a killing as a Calvin Klein underwear model; much like Mark Wahlberg, Antonio Sabàto Jr, and Djimon Hounsou.

Milla Jovovich

Before becoming an ace action star/zombie destroyer in the Resident Evil movies, Milla Jovovich found herself in another profession: muse. As an inspiration to designer Miuccia Prada, in addition to the star of shoots with acclaimed photographers such as Herb Ritts, Jovovich built a prolific career as a model; long before she would eventually be deemed a “Supreme Being” once again in 1995’s The Fifth Element.

Tyson Beckford

Before movies such as Biker Boyz and appearances on The Celebrity Dating Game and Match Game saw Tyson Beckford become an actor and personality, he saw himself engaged in another profession cut from similar cloth. Namely, Beckford was a model for magazines like The Source, as well as designer Ralph Lauren’s Polo brand.

Brooklyn Decker

The career of Brooklyn Decker started off with a huge splash, as both Sports Illustrated and Victoria’s Secret employed the future actor as a star model. Eventually, playing a lead in the Adam Sandler film Just Go with It put Decker on the map; which led to a pretty sweet long term gig as one of the stars of Netflix’s Grace and Frankie. 

Ian Somerhalder

Lost star and vampire extraordinaire Ian Somerhalder practiced looking ridiculously good looking in the modeling world, before parlaying it into roles that headed up projects like The CW’s The Vampire Diaries. Among the various brands that saw Somerhalder posing for greatness high end names like Nautica and Versace. 

Iman

In the modeling world, brands and magazines like Vogue, Calvin Klein, and Halston all called upon the mythic talents of the great Iman. Yves Saint-Laurent’s “dream woman” would eventually find the acting profession calling, and would heed its siren song through opportunities like the Kevin Costner thriller No Way Out, as well as a memorable spot in Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country.

Tom Welling

Even handsome men from Smallville manage to find themselves gracing campaigns for the usual glizy subjects. Former Clark Kent Tom Welling knows that first hand, as working with Tommy Hilfiger and Calvin Klein would put him on the map to become a Superman for another generation. 

Tyra Banks

Long before Tyra Banks was trying to help find America’s Next Top Model, she was practically living her life under that very title. Through Sports Illustrated swimsuit issues, Victoria’s Secret campaigns, and cover shoots for Elle and Vogue, Banks’ reputation as an in demand beauty eventually saw her jumping into acting gigs like a recurring role on The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. 

Kellan Lutz

Vampires seem to make for good fashion models. Or should we reverse that statement? In either case, Kellan Lutz would be covered big time. Known as one of the Cullen family in The Twilight Saga, Lutz had also done some modeling before becoming one of the sparkling undead.

Kate Upton

Roles in The Three Stooges, The Disaster Artist and Robot Chicken have seen model Kate Upton active in the sphere of acting entertainment. However, her big start came from popularity stemming from cover shoots for Vanity fair, as well as modeling for the Sports Illustrated swimsuit edition. 

Djimon Hounsou

Actor Djimon Hounsou has been known to battle it out heroically throughout various universes and time periods, making huge appearances in Gladiator, Guardians of the Galaxy, and Rebel Moon. But in addition to racking up such heavy hitting acts on his resume, the Academy Award nominee has also done some modeling for Calvin Klein underwear in the midst of his busy run.

Famke Janssen

Both the world of the X-Men movies, as well the James Bond legacy have called upon Famke Janssen’s skills as a performer. That run of good fortune actually came after she retired from modeling, which saw her lending her talents to campaigns for Yves Saint Laurent and Victoria’s Secret throughout the ‘80s.

Kofi Siriboe

Girls Trip and Queen Sugar star Kofi Siriboe is known as both an actor and an all around smokeshow in entertainment. And part of the reason the young actor has come so far so fast is thanks to childhood experience in the world of modeling campaigns!

Elle Macpherson

Everything from brands like Tab to magazines such as Elle and ads for Christian Dior have seen model Elle Macpherson gracing their campaigns for glory. And that was a perfect launching pad for Elle’s acting ambitions, which saw her hosting Saturday Night Live as well as appearing in movies such as Batman & Robin and The Edge throughout the ‘90s.

Robert Pattinson

While the world mostly knows Robert Pattinson for his acting gigs in the Harry Potter, Twilight, and The Batman franchises, you may be surprised to know that he actually did some modeling in his youth. Though he left that world behind a while back, that hasn’t stopped Pattinson from picking up some campaigns for brands like Dior Men from the Batcave.

Rosie Huntington-Whiteley

Levi’s, Abercrombie & Fitch, and Teen Vogue were crucial starts to the career of model Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, and those pillars suited her well when continuing to be a world class icon. However, Rosie dipped her toes in the world of acting, through roles in both Transformers: Dark of the Moon and Mad Max: Fury Road.

Ashton Kutcher

How’s this for a start to a promising career? The late ‘90s saw Ashton Kutcher landing key gigs in both modeling and acting, with the former getting him started through Calvin Klein campaigns. It’s not hard to see how acting won out, as That ‘70s Show was the acting job that happened to land in his lap around the same time.

Elizabeth Hurley

The world has come to know and love Elizabeth Hurley in her capacity as an actor, throughout a career that’s seen her star in the Austin Powers franchise, as well as the remake of Bedazzled. But before she was selling Brendan Fraser’s soul, or fighting for peace with Mike Myers, Hurley was a model for the Estée Lauder brand. 

There you have it, lovers of modeling and acting talent! Keep these people in mind the next time you see a hot new star in either realm burning bright, for they could be the next exciting example of playing both sides, and looking exceptionally good in the process.

While I’ve seen Robert Pattinson grow from a brooding Edward Cullen in Twilight to a brooding Bruce Wayne in Batman (and hopefully in the upcoming The Batman: Part II), much of the Twilight cast is forever immortalized in my mind as early twenty-somethings playing high school students. Which is why it is so wild to hear Kellan Lutz talking about his own kids as well as his personal feelings about Pattinson becoming a dad, which was revealed to fans just a few days ago. 

Asked to comment on Robert Pattinson having a baby with his partner Suki Waterhouse (of the Daisy Jones and the Six cast fame), Lutz had nothing but nice things to say about his “amazing” co-star. In fact, in an interview with The Messenger, he noted,

As part of the interview, Lutz touched on his own experience with parenthood and shared his own feelings about what he felt changed after he became a dad.

Listen, the rational part of my mind understands that Kellan Lutz is 38 years of age and could easily be the parents of older kids and not toddlers. (He shares a 2-year-old and a 15-month-old with his wife Brittany.) However, the irrational part of my mind is having trouble with where the time has gone. 

Yesterday, it feels like I was attending the premiere of Twilight: Breaking Dawn Part 2 (which hit it's 10th anniversary last year) as a fresh-faced youngster and today it feels like I woke up and some of my personal Hollywood faves are almost forty. I haven’t had a moment of my mortality staring me straight in the face quite like this since the Harry Potter cast started having children. Or that time Macauley Culkin famously noted he'd turned 40.  

Kellan Lutz went on to talk a little bit more about his experience as a parent, and how he has tried to make sure he is there for his little ones.

Love this for them. Speaking of Twilight stars who are parents now, the two actors join a growing group. Jackson Rathbone welcomed his first child back in 2012 — he now has three! Nikki Reed and Rachelle Lefevre both have two kids, as well. Fans will likely be keeping an eye out for new announcements now that Suki Waterhouse has spilled the beans on the little bean she’s carrying. And in the meantime, I will continue contemplating how old the stars of popular franchises are getting, and how the fandoms are aging right there with 'em. 

Can you believe that it's been 14 years since Twilight first debuted in theaters? The feverishly popular film adaptation of Stephenie Meyer's best-selling 2005 vampire-romance novel spawned one of the most popular and lucrative franchises of the past two decades, and many of the actors from this very popular movie have gone on to do many different projects, often thanks to Twilight's success. 

While you likely know what, say, Robert Pattinson or Kristen Stewart are doing nowadays, what about the rest of the cast? What has the Twilight ensemble been up to since The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2 came out back in 2012? Let's explore what the main actors in this famous series of movies have done since their time in Twilight ended.

Kristen Stewart (Bella Swan)

The 17-year-old protagonist of Twilight who falls in love with Edward Cullen over the course of the franchise, Bella Swan, played by Kristen Stewart, was the center of the romantic story. Her relationship with Edward was the crux of the narrative, as well as the spewing battle between Edward and Jacob for her love. 

In the role that turned the actress into a worldwide superstar, Stewart allowed her fame and fortune from this series to propel her career in intriguing directions. Notably, Stewart has starred in dramas both big and small, including Clouds of Sils Maria, Personal Shopper, Certain Women, Billy Lynn's Long Halftime Walk, Equals, and Lizzie, as well as the period comedy Cafe Society and the stoner action-comedy, American Ultra. She’s also starred in films such as Charlie’s Angels, as well as the Hulu original Christmas film, Happiest Season. 

As of late, Stewart starred in the critically-acclaimed Spencer, where she played Princess Diana of Wales, and earned several award nominations and wins - including a nod for the Academy Award for Best Actress. In 2022, her latest film, Crimes of the Future, arrived in theaters. Coming up soon, she’ll be in a new A24 film titled, Love Lies Bleeding.

Robert Pattinson (Edward Cullen)

As a core member of the Olympic coven and the man who steals Bella Swan's heart, Edward Cullen, played by Robert Pattinson, was the male protagonist of The Twilight Saga. And it instantly turned the British actor into a megastar. Though Pattinson has an odd public relationship with the high-volume fandom for the franchise, it paved the way for his daring second-wave career. 

In the years since Twilight wrapped, Pattinson has proven himself in a number of exceptional, challenging performances. Notably, Pattinson has done excellent work in movies like The Rover, The Lost City of Z, Good Time, Damsel, High Life, and The Lighthouse, and he's also done good work in artistic projects like Cosmopolis, Life, The Childhood of a Leader, The King, and more. 

In 2021, Pattinson starred in Christopher Nolan’s Tenet, and made headlines with his performance as Bruce Wayne in The Batman in 2022, a superhero film that’s already getting a sequel. Pattinson is also set to star in another film soon called Mickey 7. 

Taylor Lautner (Jacob Black)

Over the course of The Twilight Saga, Jacob Black, played by Taylor Lautner, went from a good-natured local friend to an object of Bella Swan's loving affection as he and Edward Cullen fought for her heart in the sequels. In New Moon, he phases into a wolf for the first time and this is the start of his transformation as a shape-shifter werewolf. 

While prominent in the series, unlike Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson, his fellow Twilight leads, Lautner hasn't found himself making as many audacious choices as an actor. He has appeared in shows like Scream Queens and Cuckoo. He also headlined the dramatic film, Run the Tide, as well as the action flick, Tracers, and he has provided supporting roles in Adam Sandler comedies like Grown Ups 2 and The Ridiculous Six. 

Most recently in 2022, he appeared in the Netflix original film, Home Team, alongside Kevin James. 

Billy Burke (Charlie Swan)

The Chief of Police in Forks, Washington, where the crux of the Twilight narrative takes place, and the father of Bella Swan, Charlie Swan, played by Billy Burke, is the looming parental figure throughout The Twilight Saga. 

As an actor, Burke has worked primarily in television since Twilight's finale. Notably, he's appeared in shows like Revolution, Chicago P.D., Zoo, Major Crimes, and FBI, among others. He was also in 2016's Light Outs. He had a voice role as Commissioner Gordon in Batman: The Long Halloween in both parts, and has had supporting recurring roles in shows such as Maid and 9-1-1: Lone Star. Coming up, he’s going to appear in a new TV series called Fire Country.

Peter Facinelli (Dr. Carlisle Cullen)

As the founder and leader of the Olympic coven and the adoptive father of Emmett, Alice, Edward, Jasper, Rosaline, and, later, Bella Swan, Dr. Carlisle Cullen, played by Peter Facinelli, serves as the head of the household. Since his days in The Twilight Saga, Facinelli has starred in TV shows like Nurse Jackie, American Odyssey, Supergirl, S.W.A.T., FBI, Magnum P.I., and Glee, and he appeared in films like Gangster Squad, The F**k-It List, The Ravine, Catch the Bullet, Countdown and more.

Outside of acting, Facinelli has also spent more time in the director's chair lately. He made his feature directorial debut with the 2018 comedy Breaking & Exiting. He also recently wrote and helmed the action-mystery thriller, Hour of Lead, which premiered earlier this year. Coming up soon, he’s going to be in the new films, Yesteryear, On Fire and many others. 

Elizabeth Reaser (Esme Cullen)

As the matriarch of the Olympic coven, the wife of Carlisle Cullen and the adoptive mother of Alice, Emmett, Edward, Rosalie, and Jasper, Esme Cullen, played by Elizabeth Reaser, played a substantive role in the Cullen family. 

An Emmy-nominated actress who constantly bounces between screens both big and small, Reaser has appeared in several different projects since her commitments to Twilight ended. Notably, she has appeared in Ryan Murphy’s series, Impeachment: American Crime Story, Law & Order True Crime, Mad Men, True Detective, The Haunting Of Hill House, Easy, The Handmaid's Tale, and the Bonnie & Clyde mini-series. Reaser also played the leading role in the surprisingly good prequel, Ouija: Origin of Evil, and she can be seen in Hello, My Name is Doris, which also starred Sally Field.

Coming up soon, she’s going to be in a new dark fantasy film, called Dark Harvest. 

Ashley Greene (Alice Cullen)

As a precognitive vampire who is known for being sweet and loving, Alice Cullen, played by Ashley Greene, played a dynamic part in The Twilight Saga. In the time since her commitments to the franchise ended, Greene has starred in a good handful of movies, including Bombshell, Kristy, Burying the Ex, Wish I Was Here, CBGB, Urge, Staten Island Summer, In Dubious Battle, Aftermath, One Shot and more.

She also lent her voice to the video game Batman: Arkham Knight, and she had a prominent role in the TV series Rogue.  Coming up, she’s going to star in several new films, including titles such as The Retirement Plan, The Gemini Lounge and more. 

Kellan Lutz (Emmett Cullen)

The husband of Rosalie Hale, the adoptive brother of Edward and the eventual brother-in-law of Bella, Emmet Cullen, played by Kellan Lutz, was a member of the Olympic coven. Since his time in Twilight, Lutz has primarily been seen in movies, including The Expendables 3, Tarzan, Extraction, Speed Kills, What Men Want, and the lead role in The Legend of Hercules. And he has also appeared on the small screen. For instance, Kellan Lutz starred in HBO's The Comeback and made a memorable appearance in the revival season. 

Lutz  has appeared on FBI and the spin-off series, FBI: Most Wanted. Soon, he’s going to star in a few new films such as Come Out Fighting, What Remains, and others.

Nikki Reed (Rosalie Hale)

The adopted sister of Edward Cullen and married to Emmett Cullen, Rosalie has been a vampire since the 1930s and is a member of the Olympic coven. Played by Nikki Reed, the actress/screenwriter previously best known for the 2003 autobiographical drama, Thirteen, which was directed by Catherine Hardwicke (who also helmed the first Twilight), has bounced between films and television since her time in the Twilight Saga came to a close.

On television, Nikki Reed was seen in Sleepy Hollow, Dollface, and V-Wars. Additionally, the actress starred in a few indie movies, including Empire State, Pawn, and Jack Goes Home, which she co-produced. Furthermore, Reed stepped in the director's chair for last year's short film, Andy's Song. 

In her personal life, Nikki Reed separated from her first husband, Paul McDonald, in 2014, and the divorce was finalized in 2015, and she got remarried to Ian Somerhalder that same year. The acting couple share a young daughter together, who was born in 2017, as Reed announced on her Instagram. She’s still very active on social media, and most recently even went onto former Twilight co-star, Ashley Greene’s, podcast, according to her Instagram post.

Jackson Rathbone (Jasper Hale)

As one of the few surviving vampires of the Southern vampire wars, Jasper Hale, played by Jackson Rathbone, later joined the Olympic coven and became the husband of Alice Cullen. Since his commitments to Twilight have ceased, Rathbone's most prominent work has been on the tube in a variety of shows that include Aim High, Finding Carter, White Collar, NTSF: SD: SUV, and The Last Ship. He’s also appeared in a variety of movies such as Mixtape, The Wall of Mexico and more. 

Coming up, Rathbone is going to star in a variety of movies, including Condor’s Nest, Zero Road, and Books & Drinks.

Anna Kendrick (Jessica Stanley)

As Bella Swan's high school best friend, Jessica Stanley, played by Anna Kendrick, plays a relatively minor role in the Twilight proceedings. But over the course of the franchise, Kendrick's career skyrocketed — to the point where she has become arguably as famous (if not more so) than some of her Twilight co-stars. 

Notably after garnering an Oscar nomination for her stellar performance in 2009's Up in the Air, Kendrick has been seen in a variety of movies both big and small. One of the most prominent was her lead role in the Pitch Perfect trilogy, though she has also starred in Into the Woods, Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates, The Accountant, A Simple Favor, and Noelle. Kendrick can be heard in Trolls and it’s sequel,  Trolls World Tour. Kendrick also stepped into television for a little bit with a main role on the HBO Max original show, Love Life. Soon, she will appear in many new movies, such as Alice, Darling, The Dating Game and more. 

In 2016, Anna Kendrick became an author with her memoir, Scrappy Little Nobody. In the book, Kendrick noted that working on these movies (even in a minor capacity) gave her consistent work as the future A-lister continued to push herself into other films, some of which didn't pay her nearly as much. Though in a 2018 tweet, Anna Kendrick claimed (either cheekily or sincerely, it can be hard to tell with her) that she forgot she was in these films.

Out of all these stars, I’m sure that there’s something with them that you have seen in the last few years. And I know no matter what we are going to be seeing a heck of a lot more of them, whether that be in 2022 or beyond.  

Across the five Twilight movies, the baseball scene from the original installment still remains one of the most beloved and most referenced moments in the franchise. (So much so, it was recently recreated for a viral music video). And as Rosalie Cullen herself, Nikki Reed, previously revealed, the Twilight cast actually went to “cat” school to get into character for scenes such as the “Supermassive Black Hole” needle drop. Now, more of her co-stars are reflecting on the unique experience during rehearsals. 

Ashley Greene and Kellan Lutz, who played Alice and Emmett Cullen in the Twilight movies, got to laughing as they reminisced about the cat movement class filmmaker Catherine Hardwicke had them go to to prepare to play vampires. Greene shared her thoughts on the experience with these words: 

The actress reunited with her Twilight brother on her podcast The Twilight Effect, where she's going through the young adult movies with her good friend and Twihard, Melanie Howe. On a recent episode, they brought Kellan Lutz on for a lengthy conversation, during which the actor spoke bluntly about his experience on the franchise and his palpable chemistry with his Rosalie, Nikki Reed. Here’s Lutz’s own thoughts on the “cat” training the stars underwent: 

Though as the star admitted, he kind of stayed away from the cat training because the Twilight author compared Emmett Cullen to a bear in one excerpt. He used that detail to imagine his character as another animal. From the outside looking in, it’s pretty funny to think that the cast learned how to behave like cats in order to behave like vampires. But as Ashley Greene realized later in her career, a ton of actors do it to get into character. 

For example, her former co-star, Robert Pattinson, just played The Batman and hilariously shared on Jimmy Kimmel Live! that he looked up bat fights when preparing to play the superhero. His Catwoman, Zoë Kravitz also shared that she “hung out with cats a lot” ahead of playing the role in order to really embody her character. And of course, many of us remember the 2019 movie Cats, in which actors such as Taylor Swift, Rebel Wilson, James Corden and Idris Elba went to cat school as well to embody to play the cat-human hybrids in the musical many found to be “nightmare fuel” unfortunately due to the CGI design. 

Cat classes aside, it’s great to see some of the Twilight cast back together nearly a decade after the last movie premiered. You can rewatch the vampire franchise now with a Hulu subscription. 

The Twilight saga started as a rather small book adaptation, but skyrocketed into a five-movie franchise and phenomenon that remains relevant and popular today. However, what was it like for the stars at the center of these films? Kellan Lutz recently got honest about playing Emmett Cullen for five years of his career, and apparently it wasn’t all sparkles. 

Twilight star Ashley Greene, who played Alice Cullen in the movies, recently launched her own podcast The Twilight Effect with her friend and Twihard Melanie Howe. On the latest episode, Kellan Lutz was brought on as a guest, and he did a deep dive into what it was like to star in the franchise. During the interview, Lutz got real about the downsides to the role with these words: 

Kellan Lutz spoke openly about what it was really like on the set of the Twilight films as they were given bigger budgets, and the truth of the matter was that he and much of the cast spent a lot more time in their trailers waiting than filming scenes for the movies. The actor reunited with his co-star and longtime friend Ashley Greene to talk about the good times, of course, but it’s really eye-opening to get a sense of why some of the cast grew weary of the movies. 

Throughout the interview, Lutz made it clear about how much he loved playing Emmett. The actor was a supporting character in the franchise, but he really bonded with his castmates, including the Rosalie to his Emmett, Nikki Reed. The actor has even shown some support prior to returning to the franchise for an adaptation of Midnight Sun. 

According to his recent words, being part of Twilight was never about the money for Kellan Lutz, and he almost walked away from it after he felt like he’d lost some of his passion for being an actor. However, looking back, he’s really happy he remained a part of it. Lutz has since had a fulfilling career appearing in projects such as in FBI: Most Wanted, along with recently welcoming his first child with his wife last year within his personal life. 

Greene also revealed that she was in a “similar situation” as the Twilight movies started to progress, but ultimately decided that the fans would be “devastated” if she quit the movies before their conclusion. Lutz agreed that doing it for the fans was also the biggest pull that kept him aboard as well. He also talked about how increased security and paparazzi as the movies continued was also a challenge, even on set, as it actually stifled the cast being able to connect with one another.

Where has the time gone? In November, it will have been a decade since the Twilight cast last walked the carpet for the franchise. In the ten years since then, many of the stars have found their longterm partners and even started families. That being said, Kellan Lutz doesn’t mind reminiscing about the good old days with his former work wife, Nikki Reed - even the time they filmed that "sensual" kiss for Breaking Dawn.

Kellan Lutz and Nikki Reed played vampire couple Emmett Cullen and Rosalie Hale in all five Twilight movies. And apparently, the chemistry was as palpable on set as it looked on screen. As Lutz recently reflected: 

When the actor guested on his co-star Ashley Greene’s new podcast The Twilight Effect, he was asked about his chemistry with his on-screen girlfriend. As he recalled, they only shared a kiss in one of the Breaking Dawn movies, during which he felt like the co-stars especially got to know each other better as well. He continued with these words: 

During the conversation, Ashley Greene also pointed out that just about every acting couple on the movie franchise had real chemistry, including her and Jackson Rathbone, who played Greene’s partner Jasper Hale. Greene admitted she had “such a crush” on her co-star, too. 

Kellan Lutz also revealed at one point he had a thing for Ashley Greene before she became “one of the guys” on set. Greene shared that she thinks the pair “pretty quickly” moved to being friends, which she’s totally fine with because she’s able to remain friends with each other and other castmates. By remaining more like friends or family with one another, Greene and Lutz bonded on being able to “be there” for one another and ask each other for advice during their mega stardom. 

Of course, Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson, who shared an interesting audition experience, were the hottest couple on the Twilight franchise and dated throughout the movies. Unfortunately for them, that also meant there was an added spotlight on them, and they were constantly the object of paparazzi’s affection. 

After the franchise ended, Kristen Stewart has found love in Dylan Meyer, who she is engaged to be married to. Kellan Lutz is married as well and welcomed his first daughter a little over a year ago. Nikki Reed is married to Vampire Diaries actor Ian Somerhalder, and they have a daughter as well. Meanwhile, Ashley Greene has been married to Paul Khoury since 2018 and announced last week she is pregnant with her first child. 

As it turns out, there are a lot of happy endings for the Twilight cast, even if they weren't actually with each other. Sure, it's fun to relive their steamy moments on camera, but it's great knowing many of them have found that special someone. Those who want to revisit the films and those fictional relationships, though, can do so with a Hulu subscription now. 

As you may have noticed, the last couple of years have made for an unexpected resurgence of Twilight. This can likely be attributed to the 2020 quarantine days when people were revisiting the comfort movies of their past, but Stephenie Meyer also surprised fans with the release of her hotly anticipated alternate version of Bella and Edward’s romance in Midnight Sun. Now that many fans have read the book, we have to wonder if Hollywood will seek to adapt Twilight from Edward Cullen’s perspective. 

Three of the actors behind the Cullen Clan recently reunited for the Chicago Comic and Entertainment Expo: Kellan Lutz, Ashley Greene and Jackson Rathbone. During the panel, Lutz spoke out about his interest in being part of a Midnight Sun movie. In his words (via The Wrap): 

Kellan Lutz, of course, played Emmett Cullen, one of Edward’s vampire brothers, in all five Twilight movies. During the panel, Jackson Rathbone (known for playing the often silent Jasper Hale) stayed quiet regarding Midnight Sun talk. Greene, on the other hand, who played fan-favorite Alice Cullen, chimed in, sharing that she’d also like to join him in a Midnight Sun movie should it ever happen. 

Midnight Sun retells the events of the first Twilight book from the point of view of Edward Cullen instead of Bella Swan. The book that Stephenie Meyer held from fans for over a decade when it was leaked on the internet while she was in the middle of writing, hit bookshelves last summer, and it has held Amazon's bestsellers for YA fiction since. 

In all honesty, adapting Midnight Sun would be difficult, but if it could be done it could be done one of two ways. The first way is with the entire original cast reprising their roles, but with the spin being Edward Cullen’s story this time. In that instance, there are a couple roadblocks in a sense that that includes Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart, who are major stars. One of them is set to play Batman, the other up for a Best Actress Oscar. Both are likely not jumping at the idea of playing these characters from their past after giving years to the craze. 

Additionally, the actors are older than they were when they made the first Twilight movies, and yet Midnight Sun follows their characters when they are supposed to be resembling teenagers. Don’t get me wrong, the main cast still looks great, but it would just be odd. The second way you could make a Midnight Sun movie is by treating it like a remake/reboot of the franchise from the perspective of Edward instead of Bella. 

Perhaps it could be a mix of the two, and actors like Kellan Lutz and Ashley Greene could find themselves different roles in a new Twilight movie. We’ll have to think about this more. Either way, it’s great to hear the Cullen Clan is back together and still into their vampire roots. 

It looks like another thunderstorm just stopped by in Forks, Washington because Alice and Emmett Cullen are back in their uniforms and ready to hit some home runs. Ashley Greene and Kellan Lutz, who played Alice and Emmett Cullen in the Twilight saga from 2008 to 2012 across the five films of the vampire saga, reunited, and it feels so good to see them back in character, even if briefly.

In all honesty, for a moment I thought this was a throwback photo, but no, it’s Alice and Emmett in 2021 still lurking in the forest in baseball gear. The actors, who played siblings for five years, looked happier than ever to be reunited and in costume. Kellan Lutz and Ashley Greene got back into character for a short parody video for Matt Cutshall’s emo’s not dead series. Check it out: 

In the video, Matt Cutshall transforms into an emo look on the fly when he gets the wrong idea about his girlfriend (played by his real partner Arielle Vandenberg) and another man. Cutshall dons a long black wig, thick eyeliner and a black sweatshirt, and goes full “emo” before running into Emmett and Alice somewhere in Forks. 

Cutshall and Kellan Lutz’s Emmett take part in a short stunt fight scene before Ashley Greene comes out as Alice to assure Emmett that Cutshall is not a vampire, just very emo. It’s a funny and pretty random reunion for the two Twilight actors, but it is great to see them back as the vampires we’ll always remember them as. Their mutual co-star, Nikki Reed, who played Rosalie Hale in the series, got into character in the comment section:  

The pure nostalgia in this moment is through the roof! Of course, Twilight was smack dab in the middle of many people’s “emo phase” at the time. The original movie included some music who were part of that scene, with Paramore writing two songs just for the film. It’s a short parody for the actor’s to get back into character, but it goes to show these two can still embody these roles; not unlike their vampire characters, it’s as if they didn’t even age. 

Kellan Lutz is married to Brittany Lutz and is raising his first daughter, Ashtyn, who is nearing eight months old. Ashley Greene is married to Australian/Lebanese TV personality Paul Khoury. Both actors are still finding projects to act in, with Greene most recently working with Harry Potter’s Tom Felton on a movie and asking questions about whether Malfoy or Alice would outsmart the other. 

Obviously seeing them back together reminds us about how much we miss the Cullens and Kristen Stewart’s Bella Swan. Breaking Dawn Part 2 may have concluded the franchise, but we have hope that someday Stephenie Meyer will at least write her planned sequel to her last Twilight book. In the meantime, the movies’ Edward Cullen is about to star in The Batman, and K-Stew has taken on Princess Diana for Spencer, coming to theaters November 5. 

WARNING: There are spoilers for Season 3 of FBI: Most Wanted coming up!

FBI: Most Wanted's Season 3 premiere came with the loss of one major series star. Kellan Lutz’s Special Agent Kenny Crosby officially departed the series after experiencing a serious gunshot wound. It goes without saying that his absence will certainly be felt moving forward. Now, showrunner David Hudgins has shed some light on how the team will be moving on from the loss of Lutz’s veteran character.

Kenny Crosby's exit was not something that was always planned, at least at this point in time. Kellan Lutz unfortunately stepped down from his role on the series due to a number of family tragedies. He sadly lost a few relatives over the past year, including the grandfather who of whom his character is named after. Ultimately, the actor felt he needed to do what was best for his family and move his wife and newborn daughter closer to their remaining extended family.

His decision was one that was apparently understood and respected by FBI: Most Wanted showrunner David Hudgins. In an interview via email with Give Me My Remote, Hudgins spoke on Kellan Lutz's choice and teased what may become of Special Agent Kenny Crosby. While Lutz's departure certainly means the character will be out of the fray for the immediate future, Hudgins doesn't seem to be closing the door on the character completely. Here’s what the showrunner said, exactly:

Kellan Lutz seems to share the producer's sentiments about his character making a comeback, as he has previously expressed interest in returning at some point in the future. The star may have more pressing obligations right now, but his personal situation could always change, allowing him to reprise his role. And given that Lutz’s Special Agent Kenny Crosby has also appeared in both of FBI: Most Wanted’s sister series as well, there may certainly be opportunities for the character to resurface on other shows as well.

Though fans will not be graced with Kellan Lutz on screen anytime soon, Season 3 of FBI: Most Wanted is just getting started, and it seems that there are big things in store for the team. The series airs every Tuesday at 10 p.m. ET, directly following both of its sister shows, FBI and FBI: International, respectively.

Season 3 of FBI: Most Wanted has premiered, and the return of the show involved another major loss. Twilight franchise veteran Kellan Lutz is stepping out of his role of Special Agent Kenny Crosby in FBI: Most Wanted, which is one he has held throughout the entire series and made appearances in the two sister series, FBI and FBI: International. The star has now revealed the reasons he is leaving the CBS drama behind, and it’s so heartbreaking.

First, let’s lay out exactly what happened to lead up to the big exit. After the Season 2 finale, fans were left with a cliffhanger as gunshots rang out, though it was unclear who those shots may have hit. That question was answered in the Season 3 premiere, with the good news that only the bad guy died due to the cliffhanger, but the big crossover case resulted in Kellan Lutz’s Special Agent Kenny Crosby suffering some serious gunshot wounds. Although he was not killed off, he is off active duty and has gone away to recover, and Lutz is out as a series regular.

In a lengthy and heartbreaking statement on his Instagram, Kellan Lutz explained that his exit from the show is due to some tragic personal losses over the last year or so. Here’s what the actor says, exactly:

The loss of any loved one is a tough one to bear, but that of a child is almost impossible to imagine. To follow the tragedy with a move toward support makes a ton of sense.

This may not be a permanent exit from FBI: Most Wanted, though, as Kenny Crosby is still alive and the character apparently holds a special place in Kellan Lutz’s heart. In the same statement, Lutz leaves the door in the series cracked by saying he hopes he can someday make an appearance again. This is how he puts it:

As sad as it is to miss out on more Kenny Crosby for now, Kellan Lutz is certainly doing what he needs to do in terms of his newborn daughter and his grief. Fans can find comfort in the fact that there is plenty more FBI: Most Wanted coming up, even if Crosby appearances are severely lacking. You can’t catch the show every Tuesday at 10 p.m. ET on CBS and streaming on their Paramount+ app.

To any fans of Stephenie Meyer’s bestselling YA fantasy novel series, I think I can guess what you all are pondering about as you are streaming the Twilight movies on Netflix: what Marvel characters should these be actors be playing? OK, even if that seemingly random question did not pass your mind before, I would be willing to bet that the thought of Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson in the Marvel movies is living rent free in your imagination now that I have introduced the idea, huh? Well, why don’t we have a little fun with this and see which superheroes (or supervillains) from Marvel Comics would be a good fit for the following 10 members of the Twilight cast, starting with our central heroine.

Kristen Stewart - Dead Girl

As Bella Swan, Kristen Stewart finally got to see things from the perspective of a vampire in The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2 (the fifth installment of the franchise), but has yet to see things from the perspective of the ghostly apparitions that haunted her in both the 2007 supernatural thriller The Messengers and Personal Shopper in 2017. To give her that chance, I would cast her as the aptly named “Dead Girl,” who joined the X-Force after her murder activated latent powers such as immortality, regrowing severed limbs, and communicating with the deceased.

Robert Pattinson - Wolverine

With Marvel Studios preparing to reboot the X-Men movies, everyone is curious who will take over for Hugh Jackman as Wolverine. I think anyone who has paid attention to the gruff, action star reputation that Robert Pattinson has developed (most notably with 2017’s Good Time) since his curtain call as Edward Cullen can see why he could be a great fit for the Adamantium-clawed, cigar-chomping, Canadian mutant. Plus, the English star of Matt Reeves’ upcoming The Batman would certainly not be the first to exist in both DC movies and Marvel movies at the same time.

Taylor Lautner - Namor The Sub-Mariner

Many were disappointed that Taylor Lautner did not appear in Netflix’s We Can Be Heroes to reprise the role that made him a promising child star before playing the lycanthropic Jacob Black in Twilight made him a sex symbol: Sharkboy from The Adventures of Sharkboy and Lavagirl in 3-D from 2004. The best possible way that he could make up for this absence is to bring another aquatic superhero to the big screen for the very first time: Namor, a Marvel Comics Atlantean who actually predates DC’s Aquaman by a few years.

Ashley Greene - Jean Grey

Someone who has shared the screen with Marvel stars (such as Sebastian Stan in The Apparition) but has never played a superhero (not counting when she voiced Barbara Gordon in the animated Batman: Gotham Knight) is Ashley Greene. The actress would finally be able to bridge that gap in a live-action setting if she was cast as one of the most popular X-Men characters, Jean Grey - known for having psychic powers, similar to her character in the Twilight movies, Alice Cullen.

Jackson Rathbone - Hydro-Man

Alice Cullen’s husband, Jasper Cullen, is played in the Twilight movies by Jackson Rathbone, whose other best known role is Sokka in The Last Airbender from 2010. Considering how poorly received director M. Night Shyamalan’s live-action adaptation of the popular animated series was, I would say that we should give the actor another chance to bring a character with water-based powers to play on the big screen, such as the Spider-Man villain Hydro-Man.

Kellan Lutz - Sentry

You could argue Twilight’s Kellan Lutz has already played a Marvel character since the publisher did give Hercules his own comic book and Lutz played Zeus’ son in 2014’s The Legend of Hercules. However, that movie is not considered a career highlight for him, but some Marvel fans do believe the muscle-bound Emmett Cullen actor would make a great Sentry: a former meth addict who gained the power of a million exploding suns after ingesting a special serum.

Peter Facinelli - Purple Man

The patriarch of the Cullen Clan, Dr. Carlisle Cullen, is played by Peter Facinelli, who actually has played a comic book character before: Maxwell Lord on the Arrow-verse’s Supergirl series. Many comic book readers cite the Marvel equivalent of this power-hungry DC villain (whom Pedro Pascal played in Wonder Woman 1984) as Zebediah Kilgrave, who never became his aptly named alter ego Purple Man when David Tennant portrayed him on Jessica Jones. I’m not sure that otherwise acclaimed Netflix series is MCU still canon anyway and I bet Facinelli would not say no to giving Kilgrave a proper, purple portrayal.

Elizabeth Reaser - Invisible Woman

The matriarch of the Cullen Clan, Esme Cullen, is played by Elizabeth Reaser, who has played the motherly figure role many times (mostly in her collaborations with Mike Flanagan), but never as strongly as her Twilight movies character. A Marvel character widely noted as a strong motherly figure is Susan Richards (née Storm), also known as the force field-generating Invisible Woman when fighting with the Fantastic Four. All Reaser would need to better assume the role is some blonde hair dye.

Nikki Reed - Lilith Drake

The only member of the Twilight cast who later returned to the world of vampires is Nikki Reed, who would join the cast of the short-lived Netflix original series V Wars - which also starred her husband Ian Somerhalder of The Vampire Diaries fame. Well, it sounds to me like the actress really enjoys sharing the screen with bloodsuckers, playing a bloodsucker on screen, or living with one in real life, so maybe she would feel right at home if she was cast in a Marvel movie (Mahershala Ali’s Blade reboot, perhaps?) as Dracula’s own daughter, Lilith Drake.

Anna Kendrick - Lady Deadpool

Fans have been pulling for Anna Kendrick (who played Bella’s friend Jessica Stanley in Twilight) to join the MCU as Squirrel Girl for years, but it might be just a little late for the actress to play a chipper, unbeatable superhero commonly depicted as a teenager. In fact, with her sharp wit, previous action movie experience, and the recent introduction of the Marvel multiverse, I think casting her as Lady Deadpool (a female, alternate reality counterpart to Ryan Reynolds’ “Merc with a Mouth”) would be an absolutely dynamite choice.

With how many veterans of the Twilight cast have already gone onto star in superhero movies, it may only a matter of time before all of time make their comic book character debuts. Let’s wait and see if any of our suggestions make the cut.

Twilight has long been a cult favorite and with that comes many viewings by fans. Sure, we love to quote the various lines from Catherine Hardwicke’s adaptation of the bestselling vampire books, but there’s also a few elements of the movie you’d probably only notice if you’ve seen the movie on repeat. One detail that has puzzled fans for over a decade is Kellan Lutz’s Emmett Cullen carrying around a Ziploc bag of hard-boiled eggs in the cafeteria sequence when Bella learns of the Cullens.

One major theory that is popular among fans is the idea that the vampire thinks that humans who are trying to get fit do spend their time consuming hard-boiled eggs and so he decided to make it an accessory for himself to carry around and appear like one of them. Now, Catherine Hardwicke has finally cleared up why Emmett Cullen randomly carries around those eggs in Twilight:

In other words, Kellan Lutz was totally that guy who was really carrying around hard-boiled eggs due to his work with a trainer to get his Twilight body. The director told Insider that when she noticed the cast member was doing this, she thought it was a “quirky detail” that had to be in the actual film. And thus it was! Back in 2020, Kellan Lutz shared this photo of him and his eggs:

Based on that Instagram caption, Kellan Lutz has clearly been asked about the egg thing for years, but he told Insider that it was a secret he was willing to take to “the grave” if Catherine Hardwicke didn’t decide to settle it once and for all. As it turns out, it was more of a cast inside joke than any particular detail about the vampire. Of course the Cullens don’t eat, so it wasn’t part of his character’s diet. But we can totally see Emmett using it as a prop to look human.

It’s a detail like this that makes one realize how fun it must have been on the set of Twilight. Catherine Hardwicke and the cast were making bold and fascinating choices throughout the shoot and it contributed to the movie being successful and relevant 13 years later. Stephenie Meyer recently continued the story with Midnight Sun, which is Twilight rewritten from Edward’s perspective.

Kellan Lutz welcomed his first daughter with his wife earlier this year and Twilight’s Edward and Bella are gearing up for huge roles, with Robert Pattinson soon starring as The Batman and Kristen Stewart set to play Princess Diana in Spencer.

The Twilight Saga wrapped nearly a decade ago now and, since then, much of the cast has started to move forward from the vampire teen years and settle down with families to call their own. It’s tough to forget the series’ Emmett Cullen, played by Kellan Lutz, who has just reached a major milestone as the father of a baby girl, with wife Brittany. And as soon as the couple shared the happy news, his Rosalie, Nikki Reed threw in her excitement.

The Lutz family were filled with gratitude on Instagram as they welcomed Ashtyn Lilly Lutz, who was born in New York City on February 22. Kellan shared how special the day was for him and his wife as, last year, the family experienced tragedy when they lost their first baby due complications Brittney experienced when she was six months pregnant. It’s great to see a happy beginning for these two following such a nightmare of a circumstance just last February. At the time, Brittany Lutz called the loss the “hardest season” of her life. And as they welcome Ashtyn into their lives, Kellan wrote how the baby has “ushered in a new season for us and we love her beyond comprehension.” It’s so, so sweet! And Twilight’s Nikki Reed jumped in the comment section to share her support. In her words:

Kellan Lutz is 35 years old nowadays, most recently playing a lead character in CBS’ FBI: Most Wanted. The actor most certainly will always be remembered for his role as the bulkiest in the Cullen Clan, Emmett, who paired up with Nikki Reed’s hot-headed Rosalie Hale who found her way to the immortal life following a tragic backstory.

CinemaBlend spoke to the actor back in 2018 to celebrate Twilight’s ten-year anniversary. When we asked him how the franchise could perhaps continue, he talked about how he’d like to see it rebooted:

When Twilight hit theaters now almost ten years ago, it was the beginning of a massive franchise. Friendships were melded over the shared love of the story and divisions were created between Team Edward versus Team Jacob. It was a pop culture phenomenon that propelled its young stars into celebrity status, as they were slapped on teen magazine covers and on their fans' bedroom posters. In my interview with Twilight's Kellan Lutz, he reminisced about how things changed on set as its actors became household names. In his words to CinemaBlend:

It looks like filming Twilight was the calm before the storm. Before the vampire love story came to theaters in 2008, names such as Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson were blips on the radar. After their iconic roles graced the screen, adoring fans followed them wherever they went, even often to their filming locations. This popularity seemed to have a bit of an anti-social effect on the cast, who no longer hung out and had as much fun in between takes, per Kellan Lutz's comments.

The now 33-year-old actor said he enjoyed the experience of the first film the most because of director Catherine Hardwicke's vision of the movie and characters. Twilight had a much lower budget than the rest of the series' films and was combatting uncertainty from the studio of its success. An early script of the first film even had CIA agents on jet skis and Bella as a track star at her high school, according to Hardwicke. As any fan of the books can tell you, that would have been quite an imaginative adaptation of it.

For the cast of the Twilight franchise, those movies have kicked off and defined their careers even today. Kellan Lutz describes much of the fanbase as his friends today, some of whom he gets coffee with or receives birthday and Christmas cards from. It famously propelled the careers of Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart into the spotlight, who are each currently working steadily in the indie space and have continually received acclaim for their work over the years.

Ten years later, Lutz says the cast have families and jobs around the world, so it's tough to get them all together for a reunion. They'll always have the fun and innocent moments in between shooting that iconic baseball scene and in the high school cafeteria. The first Twilight movie is now available on 4K.

Hold on tight, spider monkey, because we are soon approaching the ten-year anniversary since the first Twilight movie premiered in theaters. The adaptation of the first entry in the best-selling YA series took teenagers of the time by storm as it followed the forbidden romance between an awkward high-schooler Bella and a sparkly over-100-year-old vampire, played by Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson. In a nostalgia-hungry film industry, remakes and reboots are being greenlit right and left and rumors of one for Twilight certainly hasn't been left out of the conversation. I spoke with Kellan Lutz, who played Emmett, about his thoughts on the possibility. Here's what he said to CinemaBlend:

Twilight was an explosive success when it opened a decade ago, biting its teeth into $400 million worth of worldwide box office earnings. The film set off an entire franchise of five movies starring a young cast of breakout stars. Kellan Lutz played Edward Cullen's brawny and goofy "brother," Emmett, who just had a few lines in the first Twilight before his part grew as the franchise did.

Per Kellan Lutz's comments, going on another five-year journey with Bella and the Cullen clan so soon does seem a bit... soon. While he doesn't think a whole new Twilight movie series should happen, he wouldn't mind seeing the first one remade with the same budget the rest of the films had to work with where audiences were able to see the vampires really show off their powers, and give way to the campy and cheesy feel the first one had to it.

Before the franchise found its success, the first Twilight was a risk for Summit Entertainment, which saw a string of flops before the movie put the company on the map. Director Catherine Hardwicke recently told CinemaBlend that the original script strayed quite far from the source material. Today if she was to make the film, she echoed Kellan Lutz's opinion of adding more cool CGI effects and stunts that wasn't possible on the lower budget she had.

The only other reason for Twilight to see a reboot would be if it was reimagined for today's audience that is witnessing more strong female leads and diverse casting choices. That would, however, deviate from the source material, which could alienate its huge fanbase and author Stephanie Meyer.

The Twilight franchise was truly a pop culture phenomenon of the time that can still comfortably in the last decade as a success without Hollywood bloodsucking it too thin. The first Twilight is now available on 4K Ultra HD.

Hollywood loves a good franchise, and as such, reboots have become an indispensable source of box office gold in recent years. With properties being dusted off left and right, it was recently revealed that Lionsgate might even be looking into bringing Twilight back to the silver screen. In the face of those rumors, I recently asked Twilight star Kellan Lutz about this possibility during a chat about his new sci-fi love letter The Osiris Child: Science Fiction Volume One, and he admitted that he doesn't think enough time has passed to make a Twilight reboot worth it. Lutz explained:

There's certainly a case to be made that vampire movies have warranted reboots in the past. Consider something like Fright Night for example, which took a cult classic supernatural property from 1985 and injected modern special effects into the equation. However, per Lutz's comments during our chat, that's not the case with something like Twilight. In his opinion, the effects from the original run of Twilight films still hold up (which makes sense, as it has only been five years since Breaking Dawn -- Part 2). Moreover, because scope and scale aren't the dominant factors in these vampire/werewolf/human love stories (at least not compared to a Marvel Cinematic Universe film), it's hard to justify going down that road.

Shifting gears to another franchise, Kellan Lutz continued in our conversation and explained how something like Twilight (which he admitted could be popular with fans if it receives a reboot) is not as ideally suited for this treatment as something like Star Wars -- which tells an ongoing sci-fi story through special effects. Lutz explained the distinction, noting:

Of course, knowing what we know about Hollywood, we will just have to wait and see if more Twilight films end up materializing in the near future. Money talks, and considering the immense financial success of the first five entries in this franchise, anything is possible. If the reboot does end up happening, it will ultimately prove interesting to see whether or not Lutz will return to the franchise to reprise his role as Emmett Cullen.

Science fiction is a genre known for blending homages with flourishes of creativity. Most sci-fi properties innovate and bring something new into the equation, but it's also a landscape ripe with tributes to earlier works. With the release of Shane Abbess' The Osiris Child: Science Fiction Volume One, that homage is on full display. In fact, I recently spoke to the film's star Kellan Lutz about the inspiration for the project, and he explained that much of it stemmed from creating a Star Wars or Star Trek caliber sci-fi film on a relatively lower budget. The Twilight star revealed:

In an era defined by CGI and green screen, there's obviously some level of merit to a film that chooses to go the old-school, low-budget route. The Osiris Child: Science Fiction Volume One borrows ample visual and story elements from classic sci-fi mainstays like Star Wars and Alien, and the team used everything available within the Australian-based shooting location to craft something cheap, yet otherworldly. Reminds you of those stories of George Lucas and the A New Hope crew in the deserts of Tunisia, doesn't it?

The Osiris Child: Science Fiction Volume One stars Kellan Lutz as a convict named Sai who escapes from his prison on a desolate colony planet called Osiris. In his travels, he encounters a soldier named Lt. Kane Sommerville on a search to find his missing daughter before military forces orbiting the planet can nuke the population to prevent the spread of an infectious pandemic that turns humans into flesh-eating beasts. As they travel together, we learn more about Sai's mysterious past, as well as what specifically led him to this hellish place. It's a classic adventure movie premise, just blended through the lens of classic science fiction tropes of dystopias, space ships and alien beasts.

In the end, the emphasis on old-fashioned sci-fi seems to have paid off. Although it's not a major, big budget Hollywood production, The Osiris Child has thus far garnered a commendable 67% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, and the film is currently gearing up for its theatrical and VOD release next month. If you fancy yourself a science fiction aficionado, then it may be worth your time to check it out.

More and more properties are getting scooped up by studios in order to make the next big franchise, and Mattel's Masters of the Universe might finally be next in line. Popularized by the 80's cartoon He-Man and the Masters of the Universe, it was a fantasy/adventure series where young Prince Adam would transform with his magical sword into the powerful He-Man, the most powerful man in the universe, and defend the secrets of Castle Grayskull from the evil Skeletor. It's mega 80's, and a new live action movie has been in development hell for years. It's been picking up steam lately, though, and it looks like the producers are starting to meet with actors to potentially play He-Man. Kellan Lutz, best known from Twilight, has confirmed that he is in early talks for the role.

Kellan Lutz confirmed on his Twitter account that he has met with Masters of the Universe director McG (Terminator Salvation, Charlie's Angels) and producer Mary Viola (The DUFF) about a role in the movie. He doesn't explicitly say that the role was for He-Man, but...come on, look at the guy. He definitely looks the part and fans have already posted mock-ups of the actor as He-Man. It's a pretty safe bet that that's who he's playing. You're not going to take a guy like that and make him Orco. While we know that a meeting at least took place, it's too early to say that Lutz is the front-runner for the part. The producers could be meeting with multiple actors for the lead role and Lutz's meeting simply went well.

He certainly looks the part, and I'd imagine that Lutz can handle the physicality of the role as well. The actor is arguably best known for his role in Twilight as the vampire Emmet Cullen. He's also taken supporting roles in other action films such as Immortals, and The Expendables 3. In addition, he had the lead role in The Legend of Hercules, which flopped at the box office. Despite these roles, more people may remember him from his brief cameo on 30 Rock, where he played a man-baby version of himself who liked to eat marshmallows that had been warmed in his uncle's pockets. If producers want to keep fans happy, his He-Man probably won't be anything like this:

The Masters of the Universe movie has taken a while to get off the ground and has changed some hands over the years. Jon M. Chu (Now You See Me 2) has worked on it in the past before having to move on. There have been numerous drafts written for the reboot from writers like Christopher Yost, to the duo of Michael Finch and Alex Litvak. The movie is still in development, so there's no release date just yet, but we can expect to hear more news from the movie soon. Keep checking in to CinemaBlend for all your He-Man updates.

Kellan Lutz and Malin Akerman are officially on board for The Comeback's return. The two actors were rumored to be returning for the HBO comedy's comeback, likely for limited appearances, meaning we shouldn't expect to see either of them in all six episodes. Today comes confirmation of Akerman and Lutz's involvement in The Comeback, which returns as a limited series this fall.

The Comeback was a 2006 comedy that centered on Lisa Kudrow's character Valerie Cherish, a former TV star who was trying to achieve a comeback by having her personal and professional life taped for a reality show. The series was presented as the raw footage of the reality show, and it included Valerie's work on a new sitcom called Room and Bored. Kellan Lutz and Malin Akerman were two of the hot young stars of the sitcom, and they appeared regularly in The Comeback.

When we learned that The Comeback was most likely coming back, both Akerman and Lutz were said to be expected to return. However, neither actor's names was listed among the confirmed cast when HBO made the official announcement of the show's return. It sounds like some "juggling" had to be done to ensure both actors, now much more well known than they were when The Comeback first aired, were able to do the show.

Today, Deadline says neither Kellan Lutz nor Malin Akerman are expected to appear in all six episodes of the returning series. But they will be reprising their roles as Chris and Juna, whom Deadline says are "romantically linked." I'm not sure if that's a reveal about the characters' updated status or a reference to their Room & Bored characters, as I don't recall Chris and Juna being romantically involved in the original series. Their R&B characters were seen getting cozy on a couch in the first episode though, so maybe that's what they're referring to. Or Chris and Juna are together in the decade-later scenario that we're going to see in The Comeback's new season. We'll have to wait and see.

Regardless of where Chris and Juna are when The Comeback picks up, it's exciting that the series was able to get Kellan Lutz and Malin Akerman back, even if it's for a limited number of appearances. As mentioned, The Comeback aired before both actors' careers took off. 2006 was two years before Lutz's run on 90210 and supporting role as Emmet Cullen in Twilight. Akerman rose to fame with roles in 27 Dresses, Rock of Ages and Couples Retreat. Most recently, she starred in ABC's Trophy Wife, while Lutz starred in The Legend of Hercules. He's expected to appear in the upcoming Expendables 3, while Akerman has a number of projects in the works, including the upcoming comedy The Final Girls. So both actors have plenty going on, but it sounds like they were able to make this work. And it's a good thing too, as it's hard to imagine The Comeback without Valerie's "baby girl" and the occasionally emotionally unstable Chris.

After months and months of speculation and rumor - some of it generated by Sylvester Stallone himself - the full cast of The Expendables 3 has been announced, and what's more we now have the movie's first official plot synopsis as well.

With production on the film officially beginning today all the way out in Sofia, Bulgaria, Lionsgate and Millennium Films have officially announced that Stallone, Jason Statham, Jet Li, Dolph Lundgren, Randy Couture, Terry Crews and Arnold Schwarzenegger are all set to reprise their roles from the first two movies in the franchise, while new additions will include Wesley Snipes, Antonio Banderas, Mel Gibson, Harrison Ford, Kellan Lutz, MMA star Ronda Rousey, welterweight boxing champion Victor Ortiz and Glen Powell. Despite reports from earlier this year, it would appear that Nicolas Cage, Jackie Chan and Milla Jovovich won't be part of the project (though I suppose you can't fully rule out surprise cameos at this stage).

The Expendables 3, which is being directed by Australian filmmaker Patrick Hughes, is based on a script by Creighton Rothenberger, Katrin Benedikt and Sylvester Stallone, and you can read the film's full plot synopsis below:

Strangely, Gibson's role as an arms dealer sounds very similar to his part in Robert Rodriguez's Machete Kills. Hopefully we can trust Gibson as a performer to give varied performances so that the two roles don't seem too overly similar. Either that or maybe find a way to have The Expendables 3 include Danny Trejo as Machete...

This plot description also upturns earlier plot rumors that suggested that the new movie would feature a whole team of younger tech-savvy mercenaries that The Expendables would have to square off against before uniting with against Gibson's character. Basically, it sounds like whoever assembled the rumor had the right pieces of the puzzle but didn't put them together properly. The official plot synopsis doesn't mention it, but presumably Lutz and Powell will be playing the young geniuses that join the titular group.

The Expendables 3 will be in theaters on August 15, 2014.

It seems as though Sylvester Stallone may not be the most reliable source of casting news for the upcoming The Expendables 3. Last week the star seemed to confirm the casting of action veteran Mel Gibson as the main villain of the upcoming sequel, but now The Wrap has apparently confirmed that the "Lethal Weapon star is not officially involved...at the moment." But while they continue to work out a deal with Gibson, they have also entered talks with another star. Sources have told the site that Kellan Lutz, who earned hordes of female fans starring in the Twilight movies, is now in talks to join the cast of The Expendables 3.

Interestingly, it sounds as though Lutz won't be the last young star to join the ensemble of older stars. According to The Wrap's source, the movie will have the grisled mercenaries of the first movie facing off against "a younger group of tech-savvy action heroes." The movie will play up the old vs. young angle until the two groups have to team up to take down the big bad guy (Gibson's potential role). And this stage it's not 100% clear which members of the cast from The Expendables 2 will be coming back outside of Sylvester Stallone, though it's been said that other newcomers will include Nicolas Cage, Jackie Chan, Wesley Snipes And Milla Jovovich. We can also probably expect the return of Jason Statham, Bruce Willis, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Dolph Lundgren, Randy Couture, and Terry Crews, but nothing has been confirmed.

Lutz first got his start on television with recurring roles on series like The Comeback, Generation Kill and 90210, but got his big break starring in 2008's Twilight. In addition to the vampire romance movies, he has also starred in Tarsem Singh's Immortals, and had a role in the remake of A Nightmare On Elm Street. Coming up he is set to star in both Renny Harlin's Hercules 3D and the motion-capture animation version of Tarzan from director Reinhard Klooss.

The Expendables 3 is being directed by Australian director Patrick Hughes, who got his start in commercials before making his feature directorial debut with 2010's Red Hill, starring Ryan Kwanten. Like the first two movies in the franchise, Stallone is once again handling script duties and production is expected to begin in the next few months. Back in June it was confirmed that Lionsgate will be releasing the film on August 15, 2014.

Mo’Nique wasn’t a major motion picture star when she portrayed Mary, one of the meanest mothers ever seen on the silver screen, in Precious. And she hasn’t shown much interest in acting ever since she walked away with Lee Daniels’ soul-crushing drama in 2009. But industry trackers pay close attention to any actor who earns a little gold man on Oscar night – as Mo’Nique did – so folks will want to know that the comedian and late-night talk show host is ready to get back in front of the cameras for another movie role.

Mo'Nique is negotiation for a role in the indie dramedy Bumped, where she would join the already cast Camilla Belle and Kellan Lutz, Variety says. In addition to wooing Mo’Nique, the film – directed by Stephen Herek (Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure) – has signed Alex Gonzalez (Riptide in Matthew Vaughn’s X-Men: First Class), Gossip Girl star Katie Cassidy, and Xenia Siamas to the growing ensemble.

Bumped works from a Lizzy Weiss screenplay about strangers coming to grips with their differences as they face an interminable layover at Chicago’s O’Hare Airport. Weiss wrote the surfing drama Blue Crush back in 2002, but has worked mainly on television since. Her premise sounds like it could mix the best of Planes, Trains and Automobiles with The Breakfast Club, and it helps explain why Herek would want a broad range of talents to play characters from diverse backgrounds who could bring some spark to the situation.

Long layovers are the work of the devil, so Bumped is going to have to bring something extremely unique to the table to convince people to sit through one on screen. Adding Mo’Nique certainly guarantees flavor. Since she doesn’t have to work (her talk show is extremely successful), I’m glad she’s returning to feature film work, and heading in what sounds like the opposite direction from the depressing reality that was Precious.

Before we get into this news about why the final Twilight installment Breaking Dawn might not be turned into two movies after all, let me digress for a second. Last week the government released the stats for all the baby names in 2009, and according to the blog Baby Name Wizard, Kellan is the #2 fastest rising name for boys. There's really only one possible explanation for this: Kellan Lutz, the actor who plays Emmett Cullen in the Twilight series, and who is apparently far more influential than any of us had imagined. (Side note: my sister is a teacher named Kellen, and will be faced with teaching a whole generation of boys who share her previously unusual name. Weird)

Anyway, even if Kellan Lutz's massive power was news to us, it's apparently something he's known for a while-- THR's legal blog THR Esq. reports that Lutz and co-star Ashley Greene are holding out for bigger salaries before they sign on to a two-part Breaking Dawn film, which means the fifth film can't be greenlit yet. Major players Kristen Stewart, Taylor Lautner and Robert Pattinson are all getting big raises for the fifth film, and apparently Greene and Lutz-- along with some of the other Cullen kids, it's suggested-- want some of that action as well.

If you're thinking that the sideline characters in the Twilight franchise are pretty interchangeable, you're not alone-- remember how Summit kicked Rachelle Lefevre out of the role of villainous Victoria and replaced her with Bryce Dallas Howard? Insiders are suggesting to THR that a similar situation could happen here-- "We may have a situation where one of them is thrown out on the street to make a point."

It's hard to have sympathy for actors when they're negotiating for more thousands upon the thousands they're already making-- the deals Lutz and Greene are being offered are 10 times more than they made on the first movie-- but then again, the Twilight franchise is worth billions, and they're entitled to a good-sized chunk of it. Unless they press too hard on these negotiations, of course, in which case they'll be getting a whole lot of nothing. Insiders are predicting that Breaking Dawn will be in two parts regardless, so at this point it's just a question of whether or not Lutz and Greene, and whoever else is causing all this trouble, will be a part of it.

There are plenty of low-budget American indie films that make the most of their limited resources and budget, cleverly executing realism and original plots with cheap cameras and less-than-stellar actors. But somehow none of these ever seem to wind up at the Tribeca Film Festival, which each year offers half a dozen indies-- almost always American-- that match their pitiful production values with a screeching earnestness that just makes you feel bad for your inevitable scathing review.

This year's MVP of that weird little subgenre is Meskada, a small-town crime movie clearly inspired by the work of the Coens and other noir masters, but not remotely equal to any of them. Taking place in a blank kind of American Anywhere, between two nearby towns rife with class tensions, Meskada has a few good ideas marred by any number of mistakes, from casting to production design to the strained performances boasted by nearly the entire cast. It wouldn't be fair to pick on a film this small and this obviously destined for a limited release if any, but with names like Kellan Lutz, Rachel Nichols, and Meryl Streep's daughter Grace Gummer in the lineup, it will be getting attention-- and you deserve to be warned.

Another relatively boldface name, Nick Stahl, actually turns in one of the stronger performances as Noah Cordin, a small-town sheriff charged with investigating the clearly accidental murder of an 8-year-old boy, son of local wealthy and influential woman Allison Connor (Laura Benanti). Noah is teamed up with implausibly hot fellow cop Leslie Spencer (Rachel Nichols) in his investigation, and based on what's basically a stroke of dumb luck, he winds up questioning the roughnecks in his hometown of Caswell, significantly poorer than his new home of Hilliard and more than little resentful of that fact. Noah's actually on the right track-- the two killers, played by Kellan Lutz and Jonathan Tucker, really are in Caswell, but he and Leslie still spend nearly the entire film on the wrong track, harshly questioning everyone from an innocent brother-in-law of the killers (nicely played by Norman Reedus) to the local flirty barmaid (Gummer).

The murder investigation, for some reason not well explained, comes to jeopardize a new manufacturing plant that would bring much-needed jobs to Caswell, which means that the climax of the movie doesn't happen with guns or in darkened alleys, but in city council meetings, where Caswell and Hilliard citizens duke it out with fiery speeches. Neither writer-director Josh Sternfeld's script nor his skills of directing actors are quite equal to the courtroom drama his crime movie mysteriously turns into.

Packed with any number of weird mistakes, from bad sound mixing to odd edits in the middle of a character's movement, Meskada feels like a student film that somehow snagged a high-profile cast and didn't really know what to do with them once it had them. The crime drama is a stalwart genre that succeeds often, but Meskada is proof that it's not always an easy one to pull off.

If your movie’s called Deathgames, there’s a good chance that at some point you’re going to consider casting Samuel L. Jackson. Deathgames director Jonah Loop has not only considered him, he’s hired him. THR says Samuel L. will join the movie and play a mastermind who kidnaps men and forces them to fight to the death in a modern gladiator arena for entertainment.

Kellan Lutz (you’ll see him in the Nightmare on Elm Street remake) will star in the film as one of the men kidnapped to provide Sam Jackson with amusement. I’m sure he’ll do a lot of muscle flexing, but mostly, this sounds like it’s going to be a helluva lot of fun for Sam. Here’s THR’s description of how his character takes care of business: “Jackson orchestrates the games, overseeing them from his computer lair with the help of twin ladies who see to his every desire.” It’s more than just stitching on his wallet, that dude really is one bad motherfucker.

Dermot Mulroney been in enough family/romantic comedies (My Best Friend’s Wedding, Family Stone, Georgia Rule) that it was only a matter of time before he took a stab at directing one of his own. According to The Hollywood Reporter, he’s just finished tweaking his cast for Love, Wedding, Marriage, a romantic dramedy set to start filming on April 19th. Mulroney has cast Mandy Moore (License to Wed) in the lead as a newlywed marriage counselor looking to save her own parents from an impending divorce. Along with Moore, Kellan Lutz (of Twilight-series hunkdom) will play her husband, while James Brolin and Jane Seymour will play the splitting parents.

The cast and financing have been in a constant state of flux since the movie’s inception, and while the former is still getting ironed out, the latter is set to go. Mulroney has a plethora of acting credits, but has never stepped behind the camera before. At least he picked a cast that’ll be easy on the eyes.

With the whole NBC debacle set to come to a head this Friday as Conan O'Brien closes out his far too short stint as the host of The Tonight Show, the word "Conan" has become some what of a buzzword. With the Conan the Barbarian remake set to go into production soon, however, the people behind the film probably didn't want to miss the opportunity to get their story into the trend. What does this mean? We have our title character.

Deadline Hollywood is reporting that Jason Momoa, best known for his role as Ronon Dex on Stargate: Atlantis, has beaten out rumored actor Kellan Lutz for the role in Marcus Nispel's Conan. The film is on track to begin filming in mid-March in Bulgaria.

While most may not be familiar with Momoa's work, I'm not sure it matters. Momoa's job is to crush your enemies, see them driven before you, and to hear the lamentation of their women. You don't need a Shakespearean actor for that. You do however, need muscles and Momoa, while clearly a guy who works out, is no Mr. Universe. Conan's producers may have missed out on a golden opportunity:

And here I thought he was just some lanky Irishman.

Production on Marcus Nispel's remake of Conan the Barbarian is scheduled to get started on March 15, but there's still no one confirmed to inherit the loincloth from Arnold Schwarzenegger. According to Deadline Hollywood, though, they're down to three finalists-- Twilight's Kellan Lutz, Stargate: Atlantis star Jason Momoa, and an unnamed third, "better established actor."

Of course, the main requirement of the role is muscles, and both Lutz and Momoa seem to have those in spades. While neither is a major household name, neither was Arnold Schwarzenegger at that point in his career. While this take on the story will presumably boast a much bigger budget than the original B-movie Conan, I wouldn't guess they're aiming to pay a bunch of money to the lead actor-- the star is the franchise, not the guy with the sword. Whoever the better established actor is waiting in the wings, my guess is we'll see him passed over for one of the cheaper unknowns. Lutz and Momoa, one of you had better start bulking up.
