Brian Cox has never been one to hold his tongue when it comes to some of Hollywood’s biggest stars. The revered actor’s brutally honest thoughts range from actors he’s worked with to those he hasn’t. Someone Cox has acted alongside throughout his lengthy career is Kevin Spacey, who hasn’t acted as much over the past few years due to various allegations and legal issues. The Succession cast member recently shared his take on Spacey as a man and weighed in on whether he could (and should) be allowed to continue his career.

Years ago, Kevin Spacey and Brian Cox shared the screen in the Disney film Iron Will. Cox recently discussed his former co-star while doing a profile piece for The Hollywood Reporter. When the topic turned to cancel culture and Spacey, Cox described what he believed to be “Kevin’s only difficulty.” He also shared some positive sentiments about the two-time Academy Award winner:

Kevin Spacey was accused of sexual assault in 2017. The first claim came from actor Anthony Rapp, who accused Spacey of making sexual advances at him when he was 14 in 1986. Four other men accused the Working Girl star of sexually assaulting them between 2001 and 2013 and, as a whole, more than a dozen individuals have accused him of sexual-based offenses. Spacey, who denied wrongdoing in all cases, was eventually found not liable in Rapp’s 2022 civil suit, while he was also found not guilty of sexual assault charges in a separate U.K. case in 2023.

Despite his legal wins, the American Beauty star’s career was still impacted, as he was fired from Netflix’s House of Cards and removed from Ridley Scott’s All the Money in the World. During his interview with THR, Brian Cox doubled down on his support of the Superman Returns alum. He also explained his rationale when it comes to his colleague being allowed to re-enter Hollywood’s proverbial doors:

In the years since the allegations against Kevin Spacey began to crop up, the star has still continued to work. Among the films he’s starred in are The Man Who Drew God and Control. Kevin Spacey also attempted a comeback at the Cannes Film Festival a few years ago by way of the thriller film Peter Five Eight.

Brian Cox’s comments on the Baby Driver star are something of a departure from the usual way he talks about stars. (His criticisms of Johnny Depp, in particular, can definitely stick with a person.) Anna Faris (Mom)

During Mom's hiatus following Season 7, co-star Anna Faris suddenly revealed she was leaving the show, which reportedly shocked the creative team as much as fans. Allison Janney & Co. went forward with the eighth season, occasionally referencing Faris’ character Christy, but it was canceled without any kind of conclusion for the character, though the creators made it clear they didn’t want to kill her off.

Chevy Chase (Community)

Community already suffered the exodus of creator Dan Harmon and more creatives in Season 4, and then Chevy Chase allegedly used a racial slur on the set, leading him to drop out of the NBC comedy through mutual agreement with network execs. His character Pierce appeared multiple times after his official exit, due to episodes airing out of order, as well as that hologram cameo in the Season 5 premiere, but the SNL vet never returned as a regular, and was unceremoniously killed off via dialogue two episodes after the cameo.

Danny Masterson (The Ranch)

That ‘70s Show vet Danny Masterson reteamed with Ashton Kutcher on Netflix’s sitcom The Ranch, but was fired in December 2017 after multiple assault allegations against him were publicized. Masterson later faced trial, was convicted and sentenced to prison in September 2023, and did not return as Rooster Bennett, who was written as missing and presumed dead via motorcycle accident.

Suzanne Somers (Three's Company)

Three’s Company's early seasons were bolstered by the popularity of Suzanne Somers’ Chrissy Snow, but network execs reportedly refused the actress’ salary increase requests, leading to a unique stalemate agreement. Somers made only contractually obligated appearances in Season 4 episodes' closing tag scenes, which she filmed separately from her co-stars. Somers was fired by the season’s end, with Chrissy said to be caring for her sick mom in Fresno.

Corey Hawkins (The Walking Dead)

Corey Hawkins joined The Walking Dead Season 6 as comic book fan-favorite Heath, but Straight Outta Compton's release that same year shot him to Hollywood’s stratosphere. In one of TWD’s most baffling moments, Heath disappeared in Season 7, and was never seen from again. Reportedly, Heath would have returned for the movies, but those plans have been shut down.

Emmy Rossum (Shameless)

The final two years of Shameless' 11-season run were without Emmy Rossum’s Fiona Gallagher. The actress announced her shocking exit in 2018, and Fiona’s final appearance came in the emotional Season 9 finale. Despite fans’ hopes, Rossum opted not to return for cameos in the remaining seasons, and the series finale wrapped without any major Fiona updates.

Mandy Patinkin (Criminal Minds)

Criminal Minds began its lengthy run with Mandy Patinkin’s Jason Gideon running the BAU, but that changed ahead of the third season when Patinkin left the show entirely over his disgust with the violent storylines. (He called joining the crime drama his “biggest public mistake” in 2012.) Gideon was replaced and killed off-screen seven seasons later, with Ben Savage guest-starring as young Gideon in flashbacks.

Columbus Short (Scandal)

Ahead of Scandal's Season 3 finale, co-star Columbus Short was arrested over a physical altercation at an L.A. restaurant, and eventually confessed he’d developed drinking and drug habits while dealing with a divorce and custody disputes. Short was fired from Scandal in April 2014, and his character Harrison Wright was revealed in Season 4 to have been killed off.

Gina Carano (The Mandalorian)

Former MMA badass Gina Carano landed the role of Star Wars merc Cara Dune in The Mandalorian, but lost the gig in February 2021. Following a series of controversial social media moves, Lucasfilm announced she would no longer be involved in the show. Cara Dune was not recast, and has not returned to the franchise since the Season 2 finale.

Valerie Harper (Valerie)

The Hogan Family began its existence as Valerie, starring the Emmy-winning Valerie Harper as its lead matriarch for two seasons. She was later fired after salary disputes and sued NBC and production company Lorimar. While her initial claims were dismissed, a judge ruled Harper was indeed wrongfully terminated, netting her a financial win. Her character suffered an offscreen death, leading to the series' name changes.

Robert Downey Jr. (Ally McBeal)

Following a string of 1990s scandals, Robert Downey Jr. landed the role of love interest Larry Paul in Season 4 of Fox’s hit dramedy Ally McBeal, which earned him a Golden Globe. But additional arrests in late 2000 and 2001 led creator David E. Kelley to cut ties with RDJ completely. The fifth season, which would have chronicled Ally and Larry’s post-wedding bliss, had to be completely rewritten.

Shannen Doherty (Charmed)

Though Charmed’s eldest sister Prue Halliwell was the trio's most powerful, the third season finale left Shannen Doherty’s character facing possible death. Though presumptions held that she’d return for Season 4, tensions and more issues surrounding Doherty and Alyssa Milano led to Doherty’s firing via phone call. As such, Prue’s wounds turned out to be fatal, but Doherty did not return for the funeral episode.

Clayne Crawford (Lethal Weapon)

Fox’s iteration of Lethal Weapon paired Rectify vet Clayne Crawford with Damon Wayans. But instead of buddy cop love, reports indicated strife and hostility building between the co-stars, along with complaints about Crawford's directorial work. His exit was reported on the day of the Season 2 finale, which ended on a cliffhanger for his character Riggs, who was unsurprisingly revealed to have succumbed to his wounds. Seann William Scott joined Season 3 as a replacement.

Grace Park (Hawaii Five-0)

After seven seasons portraying Kono Kalakaua for CBS’ Hawaii Five-0 reboot, Grace Park opted to vacate her role alongside Daniel Dae Kim after their attempts to secure pay equality with co-stars Alex O’Loughlin and Scott Caan were turned down by CBS Television Studios. Kono was revealed to have relocated to Carson City, Nevada, as part of a trafficking task force, with Danny sharing their break-up update in Season 9.

Thomas Gibson (Criminal Minds)

Various Criminal Minds stars exited the drama for different reasons, but Thomas Gibson’s case. stands out. Despite the show still being early into filming Season 12, ABC Studios and CBS Studios revealed the actor’s termination via a joint statement in August 2016, less than a week after Gibson was suspended over an on-set altercation with a writer-producer. A later episode revealed his character Aaron “Hotch” Hotchner entered Witness Protection after discovering serial killer Peter Lewis stalking his son Jack.

Roseanne Barr (Roseanne)

One of the '90s' biggest sitcoms returned to ABC in 2018, with Roseanne bringing comedian Roseanne Barr back as its matriarch. But that return only lasted for a single season, as Barr tweeted a message about former White House Advisor Valerie Jarrett that was considered racist, and two months after its Season 11 renewal, Roseanne was effectively canceled. The network relaunched without Barr as The Conners, which kicked off its run by killing off Roseanne Conner via drug overdose.

Charlie Sheen (Two And A Half Men)

Two and a Half Men thrived on the chemistry between Charlie Sheen and Jon Cryer, but the show went into hiatus in 2011 due to Sheen’s then-latest rehab stint, at which point the actor began slamming CBS and Chuck Lorre in a variety of high-profile interviews. Season 8 was then shut down mid-production, with Sheen’s firing later capping things off. His public meltdowns continued capturing headlines as Ashton Kutcher helped fill the Charlie void, and unfortunately didn't make good on rumors of his series finale return.

Lisa Edelstein (House)

Across her years as Dr. Lisa Cuddy, House star Lisa Edelstein went from playing contentious boss to adoring lover. Upon Season 7’s end, she and two co-stars were asked to take salary cuts during contract negotiations, with Edelstein being the lone holdout. She announced her exit ahead of Season 8, and Cuddy was later revealed to have quit as Dean of Medicine, with Omar Epps’ Eric Foreman taking on the duties for the final season.

James Garner (Maverick)

For three seasons, James Garner portrayed Maverick's title character Bret Maverick, but the 1960 writers' strike helped bring that run to a sudden close. When Warner Bros. attempted to lay Garner off due to a lack of scripts, he fought back and successfully sued the studio for breach of contract. According to the actor, he personally turned down an offer to return with a raise, saying, “I want out,” and though Bret appeared in an airing-delayed Season 4 ep which was filmed far earlier, Garner did not return, with fill-in stars Roger Moore and Robert Colbert added later.

Katherine Heigl (Grey's Anatomy)

Katherine Heigl took a temporary leave from Grey’s Anatomy in Season 6 to shoot a movie and spend time with her adopted daughter, which sparked her to request to be released from her contract 18 months early. Disputes have raged on over how her sudden exit was handled, considering Izzy never experienced an official “farewell” scene. Alex Karev’s final ep specifically noted that he and Izzy were back together and raising twins in Kansas. While Heigl notably reunited with former co-stars at the Emmys, giving fans hope that Izzy could return, she has yet to justify those hopes.

Jeff Garlin (The Goldbergs)

Nine months after The Goldbergs co-star George Segal died at 87, lead actor Jeff Garlin vacated the show following multiple HR investigations into allegations of misconduct. The departure was said to be a mutual agreement between the actor and the producers and network, and because it happened in the middle of filming Season 9, the producers used CGI, physical stand-ins, and archival audio to make it appear as if Murray was still around. The writers ditched that idea going into Season 10, though, and revealed Murray's off-camera death.

Freema Agyeman (New Amsterdam)

Freema Agyeman portrayed New Amsterdam's oncology chief Dr. Helen Sharpe for four seasons, and while many expected her back for the fifth and final season, the actress shockingly announced her exit amid the summer hiatus, cheekily pleading for fans to continue Sharpe’s story via fan-fiction. She went on to co-star in the series Dreamland, cementing Sharpe and Dr. Goodwin’s break-up, and though the character did appear on TV in a later Season 5 episode, it was without any overarching updates.

Hartley Sawyer (The Flash)

In 2017, actor Hartley Sawyer landed his stretchiest role yet as The Flash’s Ralph Dibny, a.k.a. Elongated Man. Three years later, in response to his comments about Black Lives Matter, social media users pulled up multiple derogatory and offensive tweets the actor posted between the years of 2009-2014. He publicly apologized for the posts, but a week after waves were made, Warner Bros. TV and The CW fired Sawyer from The Flash, which used an uncredited body double for Season 7’s “Mother” to write Ralph out alongside Sue Dearbon.

Jill Marie Jones (Girlfriends)

Jill Marie Jones crushed it as Girlfriends’ ego-driven Toni Childs for six seasons but was the only main cast holdout who exited the dramedy ahead of Season 7 over her contract expiring. Jones' exit was explained through Toni moving to New York City at the end of Season 6, but Jones spoke openly in 2007 about feeling that Toni’s story wasn’t over and that she'd be willing to return if the writers put something together. Alas, the show was canceled in 2008 before that could happen.

Lori Loughlin (Fuller House)

Lori Loughlin returned to her Full House role of Rebecca for the Netflix continuation series Fuller House, but her appearances ceased in Season 4 after she was fired by Netflix over her and her husband Mossimo Giannulli’s actions regarding the 2019 college admissions bribery scandal. Though the actress was later able to reprise her When Calls the Heart character, Aunt Becky didn't return at all for Season 5.

Kevin Spacey (House Of Cards)

Alongside Robin Wright, Kevin Spacey made streaming TV normal with Netflix’s House of Cards. In the weeks ahead of Season 6's production, Spacey faced widely publicized accusations from actor Anthony Rapp, was subsequently fired by Netflix and was removed from executive producer duties. His character Frank Underwood was revealed to have been poisoned and died ahead of the Season 6 premiere.

Leanna Creel (Saved By The Bell)

Leanna Creel’s Tori Scott remains one of pop culture's biggest curiosities, having slid into NBC’s Saved by the Bell for its final season during a run of episodes lacking Tiffani Thiessen’s Kelly and Elizabeth Berkley’s Jessie. The leather-clad character shook things up for Zack & Co. for just ten episodes, and was never heard from again.

Wayne Rogers (MASH)

Three years after joining CBS' MASH, actor Wayne Rogers grew discouraged by his character Trapper John not reaching his expectations, and unexpectedly opted to quit the hit series ahead of its fourth season. But while fellow exiting co-star McLean Stevenson was able to be written out of the Season 3 finale, Trapper John's absence had to be explained away in the Season 4 premiere without Rogers around.

Ruby Rose (Batwoman)

Batwoman’s first foray into live-action saw Ruby Rose wearing Kate Kane's cape and cowl, but she left the Arrowverse series shortly after the first season ended. Reports noted she was fired over on-set behavior, with Rose claiming the show’s taxing nature led her to suffer back surgery following an alleged on-set accident. Replaced as a lead by Javicia Leslie's Ryan Wilder, Kate later returned in a different physical form without Rose’s involvement.

Kate Jackson (Charlie's Angels)

O.G. Charlie’s Angels star Kate Jackson won viewers’ hearts for three years as Sabrina Duncan, which is when she followed former co-star Farrah Fawcett out the door. Jackson spoke warily of the writers’ scripts, and after being denied the opportunity to join Kramer vs. Kramer due to scheduling, she intentionally caused an on-set mess that led to her dismissal ahead of Season 4. Replaced by Shelley Hack’s Tiffany Wells, Sabrina was revealed to have left the agency to become a mother.

Jon Seda (Chicago P.D.)

Jon Seda’s Antonio Dawson jumped from Chicago Fire to P.D. to Justice and back again for seven years. Surprisingly, NBC and Wolf Entertainment chose not to renew Seda’s contract ahead of Chicago P.D.'s seventh season, and he was let go. Later episodes revealed the character fell back into pill addiction following the prior finale's cliffhanger, and he was checked into rehab, eventually moving to Puerto Rico after resigning from the force.

Selma Blair (Anger Management)

Charlie Sheen followed Two and a Half Men with the comedy Anger Management, co-starring Selma Blair for part of its run as his colleague and fling interest Dr. Kate Wales. Conflict between Blair and Sheen bled into the tabloids, and a reported ultimatum from Sheen led producers to fire Blair, with her character suddenly being explained away as having moved to India.

Kevin Spacey has a long history of dropping Christmastime videos as his character Frank Underwood from House Of Cards, but this year, his newest is attracting a lot more attention as it’s an interview with Tucker Carlson. The seven-plus minute clip of the two talking has already attracted millions of views and has elicited a wide range of reactions, as the conversation seems to waffle back and forth between obviously fictional statements and real life commentary delivered in character.

The surprise video was uploaded to Tucker Carlson’s Twitter account, as well as YouTube, on Christmas Eve and went viral almost immediately. On the surface, it’s a vehicle for Spacey’s Frank Underwood to tease a possible presidential run, but not so subtly deeper than that, it’s a chance for the two men to bond over “both getting canned” and to point the finger at Fox and Netflix. It’s hard to find two more divisive figures in modern popular culture than Kevin Spacey and Tucker Carlson. The former won two Academy Awards, a Tony Award and numerous additional honors during a lauded career that spanned the 80s, 90s and 00s, but after allegations of sexual assault, he was fired from his hit show House Of Cards in 2017. Several other accusers came forward with their own stories, and he was subsequently removed entirely from his then-upcoming film All The Money In The World. He’s since been found not guilty in multiple trials, but some of his accusers also died before their day in court. He remains mostly excommunicated from Hollywood and the larger acting community, though he also has some high profile defenders, including Tucker Carlson.

Carlson himself was also fired, though under different circumstances. The exact details around what happened at Fox are still unclear, but like Spacey, he was the star of one of his network’s most popular shows. Then suddenly, he was abruptly terminated. Rumors have swirled it involved everything from Tucker's text messages to a speech that had too many references to prayer to ongoing fallout from the Dominion lawsuit. Regardless, he was suddenly gone, and now releases his show on X/ Twitter.

The interview between Spacey and Carlson is littered with comments from both men that take aim at so-called traditional media and at their former networks. It doesn’t take much reading between the lines to see both are still extremely angry about what happened to them. Exactly where they go from here, however, is anyone’s guess. Spacey has dabbled a little bit in acting lately, but unless something major changes, he seems unlikely to have a major comeback in a big budget movie. Carlson reportedly got some offers from smaller networks after he was booted from Fox, but he chose to go his own route through Twitter. It seems unlikely a major network will approach him anytime soon with an offer. 

Kevin Spacey has faced a number of issues during the past few years but, simultaneously, he’s continued to appear (and be honored) at major events. The Oscar winner was most recently on hand for a film festival held outside the United States. While taking in the sights though, he reportedly had to be rushed to a hospital due to an apparent medical complication. He’s since recovered, but the details shared about the situation do sound somewhat scary. 

The 64-year-old actor was in Uzbekistan for the 15th Tashkent International Film Festival when he became ill. Per reports, he was visiting Samarkand’s Afrasiyab Museum during the exact moment he started feeling sick. The Baby Driver alum felt his “entire left arm go numb for about eight seconds,” according to The U.S. Sun. From there, he needed to be admitted to Innova Diagnostic Clinic and ultimately needed an MRI scan, before participating in other tests. A source provided further details on the situation: 

As indicated above, it was assumed he may have suffered a heart attack, but that didn’t turn out to be the case. The actor was eventually released from the hospital and continued on with his planned schedule of events at the festival. When he addressed attendees, he confirmed he was feeling “normal" and also shared his own account of the events that led to his hospitalization: 

The House of Cards star has dealt with a few personal hurdles as of late, but those have had more those have been legal-based troubles as opposed to health-related ones. After fellow actor Anthony Rapp accused Kevin Spacey of sexually assaulting him when he was still a minor, the two became embroiled in a $40 million sexual battery suit. Ultimately, the verdict determined Spacey was “not liable for battery.” He was later charged with more counts of assault in the UK and was eventually found not guilty of those reported offenses either. 

Amid the controversies, the Hollywood veteran has continued to work on projects. Just last year, at the 2022 Cannes Film Festival, he attempted to make a comeback. Studio execs were attempting to sell the distribution rights to his latest film, Peter Five Eight, which eventually landed at SPI International.

But he's seemingly won that legal battle, as Spacey has been found not guilty in all of the charges that went to court.

This news comes to us from TMZ and is sure to quickly go viral given how much of a public figure Kevin Spacey is. After the jury deliberated for two days, the American Beauty star was reportedly found not guilty on nine counts of misconduct, in addition to charges that were previously thrown out. This comes after Spacey previously won his legal battle against Anthony Rapp, who accused him of making advances toward him at just 14 years old.

If his time in court went differently, Kevin Spacey could have faced life in prison. He reportedly looked quite relieved and happy as the verdict was announced for obvious reasons. Has Spacey finally reached the end of this long legal battle related to sexual misconduct allegations? Only time will tell.

As previously mentioned, the allegations made against Kevin Spacey go back years. He and Harvey Weinstein were some of the first powerful Hollywood figures who were accused of sexual misconduct. He denied any wrongdoing, while also shooting and releasing strange videos as his House of Cards character Frank Underwood. 

Given just how serious the charges were against Spacey, plenty of people have been following how things were shaking out in the courts across the pond. His defense seemingly focused on poking holes in the stories from his accusers. That included having Elton John testify about one alleged incident, arguing against the timeline of allegations. What's more, I'm curious to see if his career in TV and film is able to recover from the controversy that he's become so synonymous with over the last few years.

He’s in the midst of a legal battle regarding some of the allegations, and recently got some help from another wildly famous individual: Elton John. Because the iconic musician has testified during Spacey’s sexual assault trial. Let’s break it all down.

Kevin Spacey’s legal team is currently in the midst of a legal battle across the pond, as he was changed with a number of sexual assault counts. TMZ has revealed that none other than Elton John testified virtually related to one specific accuser, coming to the actor’s defense in the process. Specifically, the “Rocket Man” singer is refuting the timeline of one alleged event, which was connected to his annual White Tie and Tiara Ball.

The accuser in question claimed that Spacey groped him while he drove the American Beauty actor to John’s party back in either 2004 or 2005. But according to Elton John’s testimony, Kevin Spacey only attended that event in 2001. What’s more, John’s husband David Furnish also corroborated this story. Apparently Kevin Spacey's attendance that year was memorable because of his reputation as an actor, with Furnish quoted as saying:

It remains to be seen how impactful these testimonies end up being. Still, Elton John's inclusion is no doubt going to turn plenty of heads. The accuser claimed that he might have gotten the year wrong, but maintains that the groping incident with Kevin Spacey did occur. He claims he couldn't forget it, especially since he was allegedly so distraught that he nearly ran the car off the road. 

As previously mentioned, Spacey has a number of sexual assault charges against him currently. While he was originally charged with four counts in the U.K., another seven charges followed. So the stakes of the situation certainly feel high for the Baby Driver actor. He plead not guilty to the dozen charges across the pond, and smart money says its going to be a long legal battle moving forward.

In 2017, Oscar-winning actor Kevin Spacey’s career became far less prolific following sexual assault allegations made first by Star Trek: Discovery’s Anthony Rapp, with others following suit sharing their own accusations. In the years since, Spacey has been accused of sexually abusive acts by a growing number of people, but attempts to legally hold him accountable haven’t been so fruitful, with Rapp’s lawsuit trial jury favoring Spacey with its verdict in October 2022, saying the actor was not liable for the claims made against him. Now, as he’s set to be at the center of a new trial in the UK, the Se7en star’s newest film project has landed a distributor and a release in the U.S.

Kevin Spacey's latest trial start is currently set for June 28, and is expected to last around a month. Depending on how things pan out, he may be gearing up to celebrate the release of his newest movie, the comedic thriller Peter Five Eight, which was officially picked up for multi-country releasing by SPI International, according to THR. The goal is currently for the company to release the film in the U.S. in August, though currently without a specific date locked in. Whether or not that detail is tied to the actor’s impending trial is unknown.

Directed by former Pixar visual effects artist Michael Zaiko Hall, Peter Five Eight was filmed in the latter half of 2021 in California, and stars Jet Jandreau as a wealthy and glammed up real estate agent hiding a dark secret behind a wall of alcoholism. Spacey enters the story as a charismatic gent named Peter who is tasked by a shadowy authority figure to travel to the mountainside setting. One of his tasks is to get information from a woman involved named Brenda, who’s played by Rebecca De Mornay.

SPI International, an imprint of Studio Canal/Canal+, closed the deal with VMI Worldwide, which was already in charge of worldwide sales rights, with previous efforts being made in 2022 to get the film sold. The company runs dozens and dozens of linear TV channels and digital platforms across all continents (save for Antarctica), with the streaming service FilmBox+ arguably its most recognized. Plans for Peter Five Eight’s release in other countries have not yet been finalized.

Ahead of his U.S. trial win, and following numerous other allegations, Spacey pleaded not guilty in July 2022 after four charges were filed in the UK in May 2022. The Crown Prosecution Service charged Spacey with four counts of sexual assault against three male complaintants, with the assaults in question reportedly taking place between the years of 2005 and 2013. Then in November, the CPS agreed to allow an additional seven charges against Spacey to be entered into the trial, as tied to a single overarching complaint. The UK trial was initially set to begin on June 6, but the date was later shifted back to June 28. 

Following the verdict of the U.S. trial, Anthony Rapp shared an emotional response to having been unsuccessful in his legal efforts, and one can only wonder what he thinks about Spacey heading to trial across the globe, as well as potentially having a feature getting released immediately after the trial is over.

This was done by The Crown Prosecution Service, who provided a statement on the matter. It reads: 

It sounds like the stakes involved Kevin Spacey’s legal battle in the U.K. are getting higher and higher. It looks like the CPS has built a case around one accuser in particular, which includes a number of incidents across the years. Although it sounds like there might also be other accusers involved in the charges currently coming down on the American Beauty actor.

The first four charges against Kevin Spacey came down back in May, with the actor issuing a confident response about his legal strategy. He appeared in the courts to plead not guilty, and was able to return home to the states as he wasn’t deemed a flight risk. Now that there are seven more charges coming his way, one has to wonder if another response will follow. The official statement from The Crown Prosecution Service revealed more about these new charges, offering:

While the case is certainly being belt, it looks like CPS is committed to a fair trial, and therefore wants the public to respond accordingly. But it remains to be seen how the court of public opinion will weight in on the matter– we saw the internet totally blow up over the Johnny Depp/Amber Heard trial.

Ultimately the courts ruled on the side of Spacey. Rapp spoke publicly about this for the first time at an event hosted by the media company The Meteor (Via Variety). The RENT icon was quoted, saying:

While the outcome surely wasn’t what he was hoping for, he also acknoledges that the #MeToo movement isn’tnecessarily about legal victory. Anthony Rapp’s comments about the Kevin Spacey comment come shortly after their time in court was wrapped up. He sued the House of Cards star for sexual assault, sexual battery, and intentional infliction of emotional distress, seeking $40 million in damages. Spacey’s legal team attempted to poke holes in Rapp's story, with the jury ultimately ruling Spacey not guilty. Later in his recent appearance, Rapp further explained his complicated feelings about the trial, saying:

That’s another strong take. While Anthony Rapp might not have won his legal case against Kevin Spacey, his accusations ultimately led to quite a number of accusers coming out about the actor’s behavior toward them. In recent weeks, a civil trial has been playing out between Star Trek: Discovery star Anthony Rapp and actor Kevin Spacey. With Rapp’s accusations of sexual abuse counting as one of the most visible claims against the Academy Award-winning actor, the ensuing legal proceedings have been hotly followed in the media. It’s all come to a close now, as Anthony Rapp’s lawsuit against Kevin Spacey has been decided. 

Per reporting from Variety, the $40 million civil suit saw the jury finding in the favor of Spacey after a little over an hour of deliberation. As a result, the former House of Cards star is “not liable for battery,” as this verdict refutes Rapp’s claim that Kevin Spacey sexually assaulted him when he was 14 years old. According to an account from the reading of the verdict, Spacey hugged a member of his defense team while Anthony Rapp “looked impassive.” 

Supposedly it all came down to one key detail cited by attorney Jennifer Keller, one of the members of Team Spacey. In her words, this is supposedly what won the day for the defense: 

Keller’s remarks refer to a detail in Anthony Rapp’s testimony, in which he claimed that Kevin Spacey’s bedroom was compartmentalized in his apartment at the time. Supposedly the proceedings proved that this was false, as that apartment was proven to have a studio layout. At this time, there’s no word on whether Anthony Rapp will appeal the ruling or not.

Kevin Spacey himself had, of course, vehemently refuted the claims that he sexually assaulted his accuser during the course of this trial. Part of his testimony supporting that claim alleged that he was more interested in Doctor Who star John Barrowman around the time of the alleged assault. Perhaps the most cutting remarks from this testimony were those that indicated Spacey felt he shouldn’t have apologized for something that he felt he did not do. 

Meanwhile, Anthony Rapp’s testimony indicated his own recollection of events impacted how he viewed some of Spacey’s performances. That claim let to attorney Jennifer Keller questioning Rapp about American Beauty, more specifically the seduction scenes involving Kevin Spacey. In his own admission, that was the final performance that Rapp could watch from the actor, as he had recognized the behavior he felt he fell victim to in that film.

The verdict in the Anthony Rapp/Kevin Spacey civil suit comes not too long after woes that the trial might have had to delay due to a COVID outbreak among the jurors. It isn’t the end of Spacey’s legal wrangling, as he faces multiple charges in the UK courts, which will go to trial at some point next year.

For now, there’s one less case to follow in the ongoing legal battles of Kevin Spacey. How, or even if, this will effect Spacey’s potential acting comeback is yet to be seen. All anyone can really say is that the legal system processed this case with due process, and the next steps remain to be seen.

The Usual Suspects Oscar winner says that at the time of Rapp’s published account he was told that if he pushed back he would be seen as blaming the victim, and that he wanted to try and prevent the “crisis” from getting worse. This led Spacey to apologize for the incident despite claiming it never happened. 

Spacey admits to knowing Anthony Rapp and spending time with the teen during the time that Rapp claims the misconduct took place, but denies any wrongdoing. Instead, another actor, John Barrowman, came up during testimony. Spacey apparently met Barrowman at a club he was at with Rapp, and the L.A. Confidential actor stated he was far more interested in the future Doctor Who star, saying…

Kevin Spacey’s career has been at a standstill since the allegations from Rapp were made. He was removed from a Ridley Scott movie he had already made and replaced with Christopher Plummer. He was also fired from the Netflix show House of Cards, which completed one more season without him. Spacey has attempted a career comeback in recent months despite dealing with the lawsuit from Rapp as well as several allegations of sexual assault in the U.K.

Anthony Rapp took the stand yesterday in his $40 million sexual misconduct case against Kevin Spacey. The House of Cards actor’s attorney Jennifer Keller cross-examined him for an hour, seemingly attempting to poke holes in his story about their encounter, as well as his motivations. This came just a day before Deadline revealed multiple members of Spacey’s team tested positive for Covid, seemingly putting the proceedings in jeopardy. All 12 jurors and those in the courtroom will have to get two rounds of testing on Sunday and Tuesday. Judge Kaplan said about the situation:

We’ll have to see how this shakes out, but it definitely puts the trial into a place of uncertainty. As for the objections, the story goes like this. Per Deadline, when Rapp was asked yesterday by his own lawyer if he came out about the accusations to help his star-power in the industry, he responded with:

This comment reportedly created quite a stir in the courtroom yesterday. Kevin Spacey’s lawyers objected to it, which was sustained by judge Lewis A. Kaplan and ordered to be stricken from both the official record and those on the jury. Clearly Anthony Rapp’s mention of other alleged victims was a serious matter.

Not only did this objection successfully occur, but Anthony Rapp’s comments above also resulted in a bench conference between both actors’ lawyers and the judge. After a few minutes of chatter about that comment and the objection, Lewis A. Kaplan stating that the “ruling stands.”

Following this bench chatter, Anthony Rapp’s lawyer simply asked the RENT icon a simple question: if he made up anything about his encounter with Kevin Spacey back in 1986. Rapp responded by saying:

But given the Covid-19 outbreak that’s currently happening, it seems like the explosive drama from Anthony Rapp’s testimony might be the least of the issues circulating around the Kevin Spacey case. It remains to be seen how the testing goes down, and if the trial is able to continue as planned. This civil case between the two actors is separate from the upcoming legal battle in the U.K., where Spacey was recently charged with four counts of sexual assault. For his part, he pleaded not guilty and appeared in the courts across the pond.

In case you’ve never seen the 1999 movie that Sam Mendes directed, it saw Kevin Spacey playing a father who becomes romantically obsessed with one of his teenage daughter’s friends. While appearing on the stand in New York City on Tuesday, Anthony Rapp recalled how watching Spacey’s character longing for Mena Suvari's Angela Hayes felt “unpleasantly familiar.” American Beauty went on to win five Academy Awards, including Best Picture and Spacey netting Best Actor, but it ended up being the last of Spacey’s movies that Rapp watched. When Jennifer Keller, one of Spacey’s attorneys, brought up the accolades Spacey collected for this work on American Beauty, Rapp responded (via Variety):

Anthony Rapp also said during his testimony that despite his experience with Kevin Spacey in 1986, he continued to watch the actor’s movies because “they were by and large very acclaimed” and he “felt it was my duty to do so.” The two men would cross paths with each other on several occasions in professional settings, including in 1993, when they were both working on projects in the same building, and in 1999, when they both attended the Tony Awards. There was also a benefit in 2013 or 2014 when Rapp watched Spacey walk up to the podium, which made Rapp feel like he was “sort of in the spotlight,” though he didn’t leave the event because he feared he’d make a “scene.”

During the courtroom proceedings, Kevin Spacey’s attorneys accused Anthony Rapp of manufacturing the allegations against Spacey because his decision to come out of the closet ended up negatively impacting his career. Rapp countered that he never blamed being openly gay with any “dry period” in his professional life, and that he’d talked with people about what had happened between him and Spacey when he was “working very, very steadily.”

There’s still a ways to go until this lawsuit Anthony Rapp filed against Kevin Spacey is resolved one way or another, but as mentioned earlier, Spacey is also dealing with the charges against him in the U.K. On that front, Spacey responded days after the initial announcement that he was “confident” he’d be able to prove his innocence, and this was followed in June by him being granted unconditional bail by the Southwark Crown Court, allowing him to travel to and from the U.S. freely. As far as Spacey’s professional endeavors go, executives from Vantage Media International tried to find a buyer for Spacey’s new movie Peter Five Eight at the last Cannes Film Festival, and the actor is also starring in Gateway to the West.

But that could change in the U.K., as he was charged with four different counts of assault. THR reported that Spacey has pleaded not guilty, and now it looks like things are going to come to a head when a trial begins. Specifically, the trial is expected to begin next summer: June 6th, 2023.

Obviously a year is a long time to wait, so both the public and Kevin Spacey himself will likely be in a state of unease for the next 11 months until the trial actually begins.  This comes as Spacey has appeared in court two times over the last month. The Seven actor previously appeared in front of a U.K. judge, who maintained that he wasn't a flight risk and could travel in and out of the U.S. as he pleases. Alternatively, the judge could have ordered that Spacey spend the next year within the country while he waited for the trial to begin. In that way, he's gotten some good news in court already.

The judge overseeing Kevin Spacey's case is reportedly Justice Mark Wall. The trial is expected to last three to four weeks, once the assault cases are actually brought to court. According to the report, said trial is expected to take place at either London’s Southwark Crown Court or at the Old Bailey. And smart money says it's going to get a ton of media attention next summer. 

Of course, cinephiles out there recently tuned in to another high profile celebrity lawsuit: the legal battle between Johnny Depp and Amber Heard. With cameras in the courtroom, every moment from the trial went viral and was turned into a meme. It was also zoo outside the courtroom, and it should be interesting to see if Kevin Spacey's assault trial across the pond is given the same attention by the public. While Depp ended up being the victor in court, this is a very different case with an entirely different legal process. As such, we'll just have to wait and see how it all shakes out. As such, Kevin Spacey will seemingly have the freedom to come and go as he pleases ahead of the assault trial going to court. Spacey reportedly appeared alongside four different lawyers, and spoke only when asked to say his name and address. He previously provided a statement as it was revealed that he’d be going to court in the U.K. which reads:

With the Amber Heard and Johnny Depp trial in the rear view, Kevin Spacey going to court in the U.K. might have the potential to be the next big celebrity lawsuit that the public follows. But that will likely only happen if there are also cameras in the courtroom, allowing the public to see every testimony. Although given how Spacey’s allegations helped to bring the entire #MeToo movement to power, smart money says plenty of people are going to be paying attention to the courtroom across the pond.

While Spacey has made an new movie that was recently looking for distribution at the Cannes Film Festival, it could not have come at a worse time for him, as he’s been charged with sexual assault in the U.K. However, the Usual Suspects actor is now saying publicly that he is confident he will prevail in court.

Kevin Spacey was recently charged with four counts of sexual assault involving three men, stemming from his time as the artistic director of the Old Vic Theater. While there was some question following the charges weather it would mean Spacey would be extradited, the actor recently told GMA (via Deadline) that he will be going to the UK himself to face the charges, and that he clearly proclaims his innocence. Back in 2017 actor Anthony Rapp accused Kevin Spacey of making advances toward him when he was 14-years-old. Since then, a number of additional accusations have surfaced that have kept Spacey battling in both civil and criminal court. All previous criminal complaints, prior to this U.K. case, have been dropped for a variety of reasons. Anthony Rapp’s civil claim against Spacey is still ongoing.

Few details are known about the specific charges against him at this point. We don’t know know who the men are or what specifically the circumstances surrounding the alleged assaults was, beyond the fact that one of the charges is for “causing a person to engage in penetrative sexual activity without consent.”

The allegations had an immediate impact on Kevin Spacey’s career that continue to this day. Netflix’s House of Cards fired Spacey from the show, though it continued one final season with Robin Wright taking on the lead. His then upcoming movie, All the Money in the World, from director Ridley Scott, saw all of Spacey’s scenes reshot with actor Christopher Plummer taking over Spacey’s role. 

Kevin Spacey has largely remained out of the spotlight in recent years, save for the occasional very odd YouTube video where Spacey plays a version of his House of Cards character. Spacey has now begun to work in film again. Peter Five Eight is the new movie that was recently being shopped around Cannes. He also has two other films in production. Previously, Spacey had completed a biopic about Gore Vidal, that has never been released.  

Kevin Spacey has had a promising acting career in the past. He started out on Broadway in the classic Eugene O’Neill play Long Day’s Journey Into Night, got Oscar recognition in films like The Usual Suspects and American Beauty, and was gaining Emmy recognition for his starring role in House of Cards. However, Kevin Spacey's career headed downhill when he was accused of making sexual advances toward actor Anthony Rapp back in 1986. Despite the sexual assault allegations and recently being charged in four counts of assault in the U.K., the House of Cards actor is still trying to make a comeback with his new film at Cannes Film Festival. 

Following the sexual assault allegations, Kevin Spacey’s career as an actor was hitting pariah status. Netflix cut ties with the Oscar-winning actor by having his co-star Robin Wright become the new lead of House of Cards. Plus, Ridley Scott removed Kevin Spacey from his true story crime thriller All the Money in the World and replaced him with Christopher Plummer. With the recent charge he’s faced of multiple counts of sexual assault in the U.K., Kevin Spacey is trying to get his career back in the one place it could happen- the Cannes film festival.

According to Rolling Stone, a pair of film executives are trying to sell distribution rights to Kevin Spacey’s comeback film Peter Five Eight. Vantage Media International, a Hollywood-based company that sells movies mostly to foreign markets, screened a print of the film to possible prospects willing to take the risk on this controversial figure. The President of VMI says that even though it is very early on in the deal-making, it’s considered a “quality film.” Peter Five Eight producer Michael Hall has said he prefers to focus on the talent of Kevin Spacey instead of the controversy of him.

While Hollywood doesn’t seem to forgive those who were involved in the #MeToo movement, it seems that foreign markets can be more lenient with these actors. For example, James Francos’ corrupt-cop thriller Mace will be hitting Cannes despite Franco having his own abuse allegations where five women accused him of sexually exploitive behavior. There were also allegations about sexual misconduct at his acting school where female students said they were forced to participate in graphic sex scenes on camera in front of the class. This resulted in Franco paying out more than $2 million in settlement money. 

Kevin Spacey also has another upcoming film for Cannes where he will play a priest in Gateway to the West about Genghis Khan’s grandson. It looks like Europe may provide a safe haven or a possible road to redemption for canceled actors. While Europe may provide redemption, we shall see if Kevin Spacey will ever get his audience back in the U.S. 

The #MeToo movement changed the Hollywood landscape forever, while also extending to other industries. One of the A-list talents who was accused of sexual assault at this time was House of Cards actor Kevin Spacey, who was promptly fired from the acclaimed Netflix series. And now the 62 year-old Oscar winner has been charged with four counts of sexual assault in the U.K..

This news comes to us from Variety, and is just the latest charge against Kevin Spacey due to to allegations of sexual assault. This time the case is across the pond, and it remains to be seen how things will ultimately play out. A quote was provided by Rosemary Ainslie, head of the CPS Special Crime Division, which reads:  

The statement also emphasized that Kevin Spacey has the right to a fair trial in the U.K.. While there's no timeline given for when this this might play out, it's sure to turn a few heads. Because depending on how things work out in the courts, this could be the first time that Spacey faces any intense legal consequences for the various lawsuits that have been thrown his way over the last few years.

The allegations made against Kevin Spacey started coming to life back in 2017, when Star Trek: Discovery and RENT actor Anthony Rapp accused him of making sexual advances to him when he was just 14 years old. Since then a number of other accusers have come out with their own stories, some of which sued the American Beauty actor. This includes Rapp himself, although Spacey attempted to get the case thrown out.

While Kevin Spacey's legal issues now extend out of the country, a number of the lawsuits stateside have hit setbacks for the accusers. A few of the cases were dropped, which seemed to be a good sign for the actor. But it seems that Spacey isn't out of the woods quite yet legally.

As previously mentioned, Kevin Spacey was fired from House of Cards shortly after the allegations started coming out, some of which reportedly happened on the Netflix series set. He was also cut out of the movie All The Money in the World. Since then Spacey's whereabout have been an ongoing mystery, with the actor occasionally dropping strange videos as his character Francis Underwood. While he's been largely absent from Hollywood, he has worked on a handful of film projects. 

It remains to be see if/how the legal proceedings are different in the U.K.. Those following the Johnny Depp legal saga will remember that the court ultimately decided against the actor's libel case against The Sun. We'll just have to see how things ultimately end up whenever Kevin Spacey goes to trial.

It seems like forever ago when Frank and Claire Underwood and the rest of the impressive House of Cards cast were making news for being a part of one of the most controversial and well-made original shows on Netflix. Over the course of the David Fincher-produced show's six-season run, the political drama was home to some of the biggest and brightest stars of the time as well as those who became famous for their portrayals of the Washington, D.C. elite.

But, nearly two years after the final episode of an abbreviated sixth season debuted on the streaming platform, some of you may be wondering what the show's stars are up to now, and where you can catch up with their careers since leaving the seven-time Emmy Award-winning series. Robin Wright (Claire Underwood)

Robin Wright's portrayal of Claire Underwood in House of Cards will probably go down as one of the most significant and decorated performances on a television program. From lobbyist to the President of the United States, Claire was a driving force which was brought to life by Wright's mastery of the medium. Since the show's shocking finale in 2018, the Golden Globe winner has continued to stay busy with her work in the DC Extended Universe, including the upcoming Wonder Woman 1984 and the 2021 release of Zack Snyder's Justice League. Wright is also slated to make her directorial debut with Land, a drama in which she also stars, about a grieving attorney who goes off the grid to escape society.

Michael Kelly (Doug Stamper)

Michael Kelly appeared as Frank Underwood's Chief of Staff and trusted confidant Doug Stamper throughout the entire duration of House of Cards, and was a player in one of the most traumatic and somber moments in the show's run. Since leaving the show with Season 6 finale, Kelly has remained busy with a supporting role on the Amazon original series Jack Ryan, where he plays CIA station chief in Venezuela, Mike November (hopefully he returns for Season 3), as well as being the spokesperson for the most recent Supercuts marketing campaign starting in 2019. The veteran television actor will return to the format for the upcoming political miniseries A Higher Loyalty, which will see Kelly portraying former FBI deputy director Andrew McCabe.

Mahershala Ali (Remy Danton)

For parts of the show's first four seasons, Mahershala Ali portrayed Remy Denton, Frank Underwood's former Press Secretary who later bounced around between being a lobbyist and Underwood's temporary Chief of Staff in the absence of Doug Stamper. Since leaving House of Cards, Ali has won two Academy Awards for Best Supporting Actor, for his performances in Moonlight and Green Book, the latter of which also earned him a Golden Globe. Ali will take a step into the big screen Marvel Cinematic Universe in the near future, in the announced reboot of Blade, in which he will play the titular vampire hunter.

Rachel Brosnahan (Rachel Posner)

Rachel Brosnahan is one of the biggest and most talented names in television right now thanks to her portrayal of Miriam "Midge" Maisel on the Amazon original series The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, but the actress got her first bit of fame after her run as Rachel Posner during the first three seasons of House of Cards. Since leaving the Netflix series, Brosnahan has earned two Golden Globes, an Emmy, and a number of other awards for Mrs. Maisel. We're still waiting to hear more about the Season 4 of the hit comedy series, but in the meantime, expect to see Brosnahan in the historical feature The Courier and the upcoming drama I'm Your Woman.

Kate Mara (Zoe Barnes)

Kate Mara's Zoe Barnes was a major player in the first season of House of Cards when the Washington Herald reporter became the lover/mouthpiece of Frank Underwood. Well, that is until her shocking death at the hands of her former lover in the Season 2 premiere. Since leaving the series, Mara has gone on to star in the panned Fantastic Four, the FX series Pose, and a number of other smaller projects. Mara is set to return to FX for the upcoming drama miniseries A Teacher, in which she will portray a young teacher who gets caught up in an affair with one of her students.

Corey Stoll (Peter Russo)

Corey Stoll's Peter Russo, a Democratic congressman recovering from severe addiction issues, was one of Frank Underwood's first victims in Season 1 of House of Cards, but he wouldn't be his last. Since his departure from the Netflix series, Stoll has gone on to have a rather successful career in film and television, with appearances in Ant-Man, First Man, and The Strain to name a few. The talented actor will next appear in Steven Spielberg's adaption of West Side Story as well The Many Saints of Newark, the highly-anticipated prequel to the HBO series The Sopranos, which is scheduled to hit theaters in March 2021.

Boris McGiver (Tom Hammerschmidt)

For all but the third season of House of Cards, Boris McGiver played Tom Hammerschmidt, the no nonsense editor-in-chief of the Washington Herald newspaper who proved to be a constant thorn in the side of Frank Underwood. After the show wrapped up in 2018, McGiver joined the cast of the CBS supernatural drama series Evil, as well as the ABC legal drama For Life, where he plays the prosecutor who was responsible for putting the show's main character, Aaron Wallace, in prison in the first place.

Jayne Atkinson (Catherine Durant)

Jayne Atkinson's portrayal of former Louisiana Senator and Secretary of State Catherine Durant was one the most memorable performances on House of Cards, especially in the show's final seasons for the vicious games she and President Claire Underwood played against one another. Since her departure from the series, Atkinson has continued to pop up in various television programs like The Walking Dead, Castle Rock, and Bluff City Law, which was cancelled by NBC after the original 10 episodes that were ordered were filmed.

Nathan Darrow (Edward Meechum)

For the first four seasons of House of Cards Nathan Darrow played United States Capitol Police officer and Frank Underwood's personal security guard Edward Meechum until his character's tragic ending. Besides his tragic death and strange threeway scene with the Underwoods, Meechum was a bright spot of the show in its early days, and provided some great moments. Near the end of his run on the Netflix series, Darrow joined the cast of Gotham where he portrayed Victor Fries, aka Mr. Freeze. Darrow is currently featured on the CBS crime show FBI.

Sakina Jaffrey (Linda Vasquez)

Sakina Jaffrey was mostly on House of Cards in the show's first two seasons, where she portrayed former United States President Garrett Walker's Chief of Staff, Linda Vasquez, one of the many enemies of Frank Underwood in his rise to power. Since leaving the show, Jaffrey has continued to have a successful career in film and television, with roles in major projects like American Gods, Homeland, Lost in Space, and the Apple TV+ series Defending Jacob, where she stars alongside Chris Evans, Michelle Dockery, J.K. Simmons, and other members of a large ensemble cast.

Sebastian Arcelus (Lucas Goodwin)

Sebastian Arcelus' portrayal of reporter Lucas Goodwin will probably go down as one of the most traumatizing and unforgettable descents into madness featured on the show. In trying to find dirt and take down Frank Underwood, Goodwin's life (professional and personal) continues to get worse and worse until its tragic ending. Following his departure from House of Cards, Arcelus found moderate success on television shows like Madame Secretary, The Leftovers, and most recently, small roles on FBI and Bull. One of the most notable facts about Arcelus is that, due to him being a descendant of Sophia of Hanover, he is in the line of succession to the British throne, though he is pretty far down the list.

Kevin Spacey (Frank Underwood)

And finally, there's the man who started it all — Kevin Spacey. Until being written off after a number of personal controversies all but put a stop to Spacey's career, Frank Underwood was written off the show ahead of the final season in 2017. Since being dropped from the show in which he was the star (and narrator) for five seasons, the former Hollywood legend has only made two appearances in some of the strangest YouTube videos you can find on the internet with "Let Me Be Frank" on December 24, 2018, and then again a year later with "KTWKK."

Well, that's what the cast of House of Cards has been up to lately, or at least most of the cast. Some have gone on to find a great deal of success in film and television, others found themselves on the line of succession, and others are finding strange ways to fill their time. Following the accusations against Harvey Weinstein in 2017, the entertainment world was has an ongoing conversation about sexual misconduct in the workplace. The floodgates opened as the #MeToo movement gained power, and more powerful men in the industry were taken to task for inappropriate behavior in the workplace. One of the other big names to be affected was Kevin Spacey, who was fired from Netflix's House of Cards after multiple accusations came his way-- including some from the show's set. Last Christmas, Spacey went viral for a wild video he produced as his HoC character Francis Underwood. Now another one has arrived just in time for the holidays.

A calendar year ago, Kevin Spacey put out a video called "Let Me Be Frank", which found the actor putting on his House of Cards accent and addressing his unceremonious departure from Netflix's dark political drama. It was a totally weird experience, and now it looks like Spacey had made it a new family tradition. Check it out below.

Well, that was something. Let's break down everything we're being shown in this new video.

Titled "KTWK" the above video comes from Kevin Spacey's personal social media accounts. The clip opens on a holiday fireplace, with the yule log burning. Eventually the shot widens, and Spacey is shown tending to the fire. He breaks the fourth wall like Francis was known to do on House of Cards, telling viewers he wasn't going to let the holiday season go by without sending us another message.

As he goes on, Kevin Spacey remarks that he's thankful for the improvement in his health. It's unclear if he's referencing himself personally, or Francis Underwood's unceremonious death ahead of House of Cards' final season. The production team of the acclaimed series had a difficult task ahead of them for Season 6. Francis was killed off in mysterious circumstances, although it was later revealed that Doug poisoned him to save Claire. That didn't really pan out well for poor Doug, either.

So what is the message that Francis/Kevin wanted to share this Holiday season? Apparently it's all about kindness and good in the world. While this is a message that seems appropriate for Christmas, there's something insidious about the way Spacey delivers his lines. He tells the audience to kill their enemies with kindness, with an emphasis on the word kill. And if that's not unsettling enough, the clip ends with some ominous music.

This is the second video of this nature released by Kevin Spacey, and they're both equally wild. Spacey's work as Francis Underwood was universally acclaimed before the accusations of sexual misconduct resulted in his departure. So seeing him slip back into character for these clips is a very unique viewing experience. And it looks like we should expect another viral video in 365 days.

Last year's video "Let Me Be Frank" was in direct response to his firing from House of Cards, taking aim at how his character was killed off in the show's final season. The video maintained that he was still alive, and quickly went viral. We'll just have to see how much "KTWK" does.

Sometimes the actors leave under let's say cloudy conditions, and other times it's the showrunners who create controversy with the writing of the exit. It's kind of amazing to think that we've had so many such departures just in the past five years. This list only scratches the surface -- starting with the exit that should be coming up next...

George Eads, MacGyver

George Eads is leaving MacGyver, with the show setting up an exit for his character Jack Dalton in the Friday, February 1 episode. Eads reportedly had an on-set altercation of some kind back in October and subsequently stormed off the Atlanta set. When he returned, he asked to be released from his contract, reportedly due to a desire to spend time with his daughter in Los Angeles. Eads also left a different CBS show under similar circumstances. He left CSI after 15 seasons, one season after an on-set problem with one of the writers. It seemed like he might quit, but he took a leave of absence and came back for another season before being written off.

Clayne Crawford, Lethal Weapon

Clayne Crawford's departure from Lethal Weapon was ugly from every angle. He was cut from the show before Season 3 due to alleged misconduct. The show decided to kill off Martin Riggs and give Damon Wayans' Roger Murtaugh a new partner. Some of Crawford's bad behavior was caught on camera, including clashes with Wayans, who didn't come across so good himself. In one instance, Crawford had a meltdown over filming scenes at an L.A. area pool. After that, he agreed to undergo counseling. Ultimately, his character was killed off and -- after a time jump -- Seann William Scott stepped in as the new co-lead Season 3. In late 2018, Wayans said he planned to leave the show after Season 3, but that may not be the case anymore. Then again, Fox has yet to renew the show for a Season 4, so it may be a moot point.

Thomas Gibson, Criminal Minds

Thomas Gibson's character Aaron Hotchner was written off Criminal Minds after the actor had an on-set altercation during production on Season 12. Gibson was directing an episode and had a heated incident with the episode's writer, allegedly kicking at him. He was fired. Hotch, a main character of the show, was written to have taken a consulting job off screen. Later, that was said to be a ruse, and he went into witness protection to get away from Mr. Scratch. Hotch could've returned to the BAU later, but fans were told that he decided to retire and be a full-time parent to Jack. It's not clear if Hotch will return for the Criminal Minds finale. That wasn't the first time something like that had happened; in 2010, Gibson allegedly pushed an assistant director, and had to take anger management counseling.

Danny Masterson, The Ranch

Danny Masterson was fired from Netflix's The Ranch during filming for Season 3, after five women came forward with rape allegations. His character, Rooster, appeared to leave town at the end of Part 5. But that wasn't the end of his story. When Part 6 premiered, Beau Bennett (Sam Elliott) got a call that Rooster's motorcycle was found at the bottom of a cliff. Apparently he went into a curve too fast, his brakes locked up, and he went over the guardrail. Rooster's body wasn't found, but he was presumed dead, and the family held a memorial for him. So they killed Rooster off, but also left the door open for the character. Danny Masterson asked fans to keep supporting The Ranch, even with Rooster "MIA."

Roseanne Barr, Roseanne

Roseanne had a hugely popular revival Season 10 when it returned in 2018. But Roseanne Barr has never been shy with her opinions, and she took a tweet a step too far for ABC. Since it was Roseanne's show, with her name on it, when ABC wanted to fire Barr after a racist tweet, the network decided to cancel the entire show. ABC boss Channing Dungey called Roseanne's tweet about Valerie Jarrett "abhorrent, repugnant and inconsistent with our values." The rest of the Roseanne cast, who were basically collateral damage in the drama, returned for a spinoff called The Conners.

Kevin Spacey, House of Cards

Kevin Spacey's personal house of cards came crashing down after Star Trek: Discovery and Rent star Anthony Rapp accused Spacey of trying to have sex with him when Rapp was just 14 years old. After that, several members of the House of Cards also came forward with stories about Spacey's alleged misconduct. Netflix decide to cut ties with Spacey, and cut him out of the final Season 6 entirely. Robin Wright's President Claire Underwood was instead the lead of the shortened final season. The show killed off Frank Underwood, and also buried the character somewhere he would never want to be. Spacey later revived his character for a bizarre holiday video called "Let Me Be Frank."

Erinn Hayes, Kevin Can Wait

This casting drama started when it was announced that Kevin James' former King of Queens co-star Leah Remini would be joining Kevin Can Wait full-time in Season 2. That news was followed by reports that Erinn Hayes was fired after Season 1. The show decided to kill off her character, Donna, wife of Kevin's lead character. That allowed Season 2 to focus on Kevin's relationship with Remini's Vanessa Cellucci. The change didn't sit well with fans, and Hayes didn't seem to be happy with it either. CBS decided to cancel the whole show after Season 2 anyway.

Connie Britton, Nashville

It was a huge shock to Nashville fans when Rayna James died due to injuries from a car crash. It seemed like Rayna was going to be fine ... until she wasn't. Fans were devastated. What was Nashville without Rayna James? Connie Britton said leaving was her decision. She felt it was time to exit Nashville after it found a new home at CMT for Season 5. But the show continued for another season on CMT, and Britton even brought back Rayna back in the finale for two scenes -- a flashback and the big musical number at the end.

Sophia Bush, Chicago P.D.

Sophia Bush left Chicago P.D. after playing Det. Erin Lindsay for four seasons. She was tight-lipped about her reasons at first, and only opened up more over time, talking about her unhappiness on the set. Bush said (via TVLine) that she experienced "a consistent onslaught barrage of abusive behavior." She said producers initially dismissed her complaints, and they even seemed irritated that she was asking them to investigate negative conditions on set. She gave them notice that if things didn't change by the end of Season 4, she'd quit. She threatened to sue the network and write an op-ed on why she was unhappy, but NBC ultimately allowed her an early exit from her seven-season contract.

T.J. Miller, Silicon Valley

T.J. Miller's Erlich Bachman was one of the main characters of HBO's Silicon Valley. When Miller announced he'd be leaving the show after Season 4 wrapped, plenty of reasons flew around as to why. Initially, Miller said he wanted to do more things like The Emoji Movie and have time to develop animated features. After that, more stories started coming out about his allegedly unprofessional behavior on set. He also reportedly didn't get along with star Thomas Middleditch. The more that came out, the more toxic and mutual the departure sounded.

Stana Katic, Castle

Stana Katic played co-lead Kate Beckett on Castle, so it was baffling to fans to hear she'd be leaving after Season 8 -- and not by her own choice. Nathan Fillion's contract was renewed, and he and some of the other stars were ready to return for Season 9. But how could Castle continue without Beckett? Rumors flew as to what happened, from recycled talk of tension between Katic and Fillion to discussion of various contracts. There was huge fan outcry, and ABC ultimately decided just to end the show with Season 8. Two different endings were filmed -- one with a cliffhanger if Season 9 had happened, and the happy ending that fans got to see. But the behind-the-scenes drama toward the end of the show's run was still fresh to fans, and soured the happy ending a bit.

Josh Charles, The Good Wife

So much of The Good Wife was the love story between Alicia Florrick (Julianna Margulies) and Will Gardner (Josh Charles). So it was a massive shock to see Will gunned down inside a courtroom in Season 5, Episode 15. Will was dead. Josh Charles had wanted to leave the show, and the creators wrote an open letter to fans to try and justify the end of Will's story. Charles' exit wasn't even the only dramatic one for the legal show. You may have heard about the rumored tension between Margulies and Archie Panjabi, who played Kalinda Sharma. When Panjabi left in Season 6, the show filmed a final scene for best friends Alicia and Kalinda. But there was speculation that the stars filmed their respective sides of the scene separately.

Patrick Dempsey, Grey's Anatomy

Grey's Anatomy is now in Season 15 but fans are still pissed about Derek's death. There was already behind-the-scenes drama suggesting Patrick Dempsey would be leaving the show, but the way they wrote out his character in Season 11 was just brutal. Derek had stopped to help some people in a car accident, and ended up hit himself. He was rushed to a hospital, but not Grey Sloan, and his doctor made a mistake that ended up in Derek's death. Shonda Rhimes defended the decision to kill off Derek, saying it was better than having him just disappear on Meredith Grey. At least this preserved their love story. Some fans said they would stop watching after Derek's death. Even some current viewers still don't want Mer to be with anyone else.

Columbus Short, Scandal

Columbus Short brought his own scandal to Scandal. He played Harrison Wright on the first three seasons, but confirmed he wouldn't return for Season 4. Harrison was ultimately killed in the Season 3 finale. Short opened up later about the personal drama that led to his departure, saying, "I'll be candid. I was struggling with drugs. I had a lot on my plate, and you know, I was using unhealthy ways to kind of self-medicate and deal with a lot of heavy duty stuff in my life." He was jailed after getting into a fight in a restaurant, and his wife filed for divorce following a misdemeanor spousal battery charge. The Walking Dead loves a shocking exit, but if there was any character that seemed safe, it was Carl Grimes. Chandler Riggs apparently though he'd be safe for a while too, so it was shocking for him as well as fans when Carl was killed off halfway through Season 8. Riggs said it was "devastating" for him and his family, especially since he had just bought a house in the Atlanta area where Walking Dead films. Riggs' father also spoke out on social media, slamming showrunner Scott M. Gimple for firing Chandler two weeks before the actor's 18th birthday, despite telling him they wanted him on the show for the next three years. The very next season, the show's main star, Andrew Lincoln, also exited the show -- although this time it was by choice, and AMC didn't kill off Rick Grimes, the network is giving him his own set of films.

Those are just a few of the controversial departures from the past few years. There are more -- and many more if we went back even further in time. Kevin Spacey released a video this holiday season where he addressed viewers in the same style as his House of Cards character before he was axed from that series in the wake of sexual misconduct allegations. The video was even titled "Let Me Be Frank," in what could only be a nod to Frank Underwood as Spacey addressed the allegations against him. Now that the video has been online for a few days, the stats are in, and it turns out that a ton of people have watched so far.

"Let Me Be Frank" went up on Kevin Spacey's official accounts on various platforms on December 24, and the video gained a lot of traction very quickly, which is somewhat surprising since many people may have been celebrating the holidays rather than glued to their devices and scrolling social media. Let's start with YouTube, which has accumulated the most views so far.

At the time of writing on December 27, "Let Me Be Frank" has been viewed more than 7.7 million times on YouTube. Even if some of those views are repeats from viewers who came back to watch more than once, that's still a huge number for a video that only went up a few days ago. More than 42,000 comments have been shared, and the video has received a whopping 175,000 thumbs-up clicks, with only 52,000 thumbs-down clicks.

Facebook comes in second behind YouTube when it comes to views for "Let Me Be Frank." In the days since Kevin Spacey shared the video on that particular social media platform on Monday, it has accumulated 1.5 million views. On top of that, it has been shared more than 18,000 times and been commented upon more than 11,000 times. If that's not enough, the video drew 62,000+ reactions, which include thumbs-up, like, and more.

Coming in third in viewership is Kevin Spacey's video post on his Instagram account. As of now, "Let Me Be Frank" on that platform has been viewed by upward of 313,000 times and attracted more than 7,600 comments. While these numbers pale in comparison to those drawn by YouTube and Facebook, they still prove that plenty of people were watching on a variety of social media platforms.

A fourth platform indicating a lot of people checked out Kevin Spacey's video is Twitter. Although Twitter doesn't share viewership statistics the same way YouTube, Facebook, and Instagram do, and although Spacey's tweet is technically only a link to the video on YouTube, it garnered enough reactions to indicate that Twitter was how plenty of folks found the video. Since the video was posted on Spacey's Twitter account on the afternoon of December 24, it has accumulated nearly 17,000 retweets, nearly 50,000 likes, and around 17,000 comments.

In "Let Me Be Frank," Kevin Spacey in his Frank Underwood-esque persona chastises the audience for rushing to judgment and even comments on the fact that Frank's body was never shown on House of Cards despite his reported death. Given that House of Cards is done and the video was posted the same day that news broke that Spacey will be charged with indecent assault in Massachusetts, I think it's safe to say we won't be seeing Spacey back as Frank Underwood in any official capacity.

A little more than a year after disappearing from the public eye following allegations of sexual misconduct, Kevin Spacey made a surprise return yesterday in the form of a Facebook video. In it, the fifty-nine-year-old actor reprises his role as Frank Underwood, direct addressing the camera, chastising the audience for rushing to judgment and even hinting at a return to House Of Cards that will almost assuredly never happen . The above video comes in the midst of news that Spacey will be charged in Massachusetts with indecent assault for an incident in which he allegedly stuck his hand down an 18-year-old's pants and grabbed his genitals. He's due to be arraigned at Nantucket District Court on January 7th. According to Fox News, he's expected to be charged with a felony.

Some of the specifics about the night still have not come to light, but the basic allegation stems from an incident that allegedly happened in July of 2016. Kevin Spacey was reportedly inside a bar in Nantucket when he met an eighteen-year-old busboy. The teen reportedly told the actor he was of legal drinking age. Spacey bought some rounds and later, allegedly stuck his hand down the busboy's pants without permission. A third person then reportedly approached the man and told him to flee, which he did.

It's still unclear exactly what Spacey's motivation for making the video may have been. Its timing and some of the video's content, particularly the sections about not rushing to judgment, would seem to indicate he was trying to get ahead of this story and implore the public to give him the benefit of the doubt until more information comes to light. Some of the other parts, however, seem to be implying fans must miss him on House Of Cards and maybe there's a chance he could end up back on the show someday. Like this quote...

Of course, Spacey's recent problems extend beyond this one case. Back in 2017, he was accused by actor Anthony Rapp of making a pass at him when he was underage. Following the allegation, several people who worked with the actor at The Old Vic theater also came forward with sexual misconduct stories, and he was later written out of Netflix's House Of Cards. His role in the Oscar-nominated film All The Money In The World was also recast, with much of the cast returning to reshoot key scenes with his replacement. Another movie he'd finished prior to the allegations was eventually released, though it performed terribly at the box office.

Netflix only gave visitors to Dallas' Love Field airport about four days to watch the final season of House of Cards before spoiling a major plot point with a giant statue. On November 6 -- Election Night -- the airport debuted a statue of Robin Wright's fictional character, President Claire Hale Underwood. That's not the spoiler, we already knew she was POTUS. But you can see the spoiler bumping out in photos, including this one shared by newly famous politician Dan Crenshaw:

Yep, President Claire Underwood is preggers. That twist came late in the eight-episode Season 6. Claire got pregnant with the late President Frank Underwood's (Kevin Spacey) baby thanks to IVF, using Frank's frozen sperm from a trip to the doctor back in Season 2.

Not everyone had a chance to watch the final season before stumbling on the statue. Funny that Congressman-elect Dan Crenshaw was one of the people to see it and spread the news. The former Navy SEAL recently achieved national fame thanks (but no thanks) to mockery from Pete Davidson on Saturday Night Live.

Apparently Dan Crenshaw is also a House of Cards fan. He'd know that First Lady-turned-President Claire Underwood is a Dallas native. The engraving under her new statue reads, "Claire Hale Underwood of Highland Park, Texas, the 47th President of the United States of America."

The statue is not the only piece of House of Cards fiction to crossover into real life. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Netflix worked with ad agency Wieden and Kennedy on a campaign to bring Claire Underwood's legacy to life for the final season. They set up an infomercial selling a President Claire Underwood Commemorative Plate, with ads running on late night TV and during daytime game shows.

On House of Cards, Claire Underwood succeeded her husband Frank Underwood, who was the 46th president. Netflix created a real gravesite in Frank's hometown of Gaffney, S.C., to mark where the character was buried. That tombstone is said to be staying permanently. The town's mayor told local news station WSPA that the show has brought a lot of people to Gaffney. The local paper even ran an obituary for Frank, whose death was mentioned (but not shown) in the final season.

Unlike Frank's grave, Claire's statue is not permanent. The Dallas Morning News had said the statue would be on display until today (November 14) but THR states it will stand for another week.

House of Cards buried Frank Underwood to write star Kevin Spacey out of the series after allegations of sexual misconduct. The cast and crew wanted to finish out the series -- with Robin Wright pushing to retain the jobs of the many people who work on the show. So they killed Frank and didn't include Spacey in the final season.

Netflix had to make a huge change to one of their most popular shows following misconduct allegations against Kevin Spacey. However, that's not the only place the streaming service needed to do something drastic. In addition to firing Spacey from House of Cards and making Robin Wright the star of the show, Netflix also shelved a movie the actor had already completed, a movie which we'll probably never see because, in addition to Netflix already cutting all ties, it contains sequences with Kevin Spacey's character involved with sex workers that likely won't sit well with audiences considering what the actor has been accused of.

The movie was a biopic of author Gore Vidal that would have seen Kevin Spacey play the title role. It was completed about a year ago but has never been released and at this point, it looks like it never will be. Netflix has already ended their relationship with Spacey entirely, a move which reportedly cost them $39 million, but even if another studio wanted to take a chance on the actor, it's unlikely anybody will want to touch Gore.

Gore Vidal apparently had some less than traditional views regarding sex and sex workers, which get depicted in the film. According to Buzzfeed, this includes scenes of Kevin Spacey engaged in sex with young men as well as transgender sex workers. Considering that improper conduct with young men is among the accusations that have been leveled against Spacey personally, this art may be imitating life a little too closely.

The question of whether or not Kevin Spacey will ever work in Hollywood again has yet to be clearly answered. However, if there's any chance that he does, it will need to be done in such a way that the audience is not reminded of the conduct Spacey allegedly engaged in. The movie Gore would have the opposite effect.

This means that even if Netflix were willing to sell the movie to some other studio, it's unlikely there is one that would be willing to release it.

A similar fate has thus far befallen I Love You, Daddy, a film made by Louis C.K. before sexual misconduct allegations were made against him. That film was about a Hollywood star's relationship with a much younger girl. While the comedian has since returned to the public eye in a somewhat limited way, the film has yet to be released.

Kevin Spacey was considered such a toxic name that Ridley Scott had him completely replaced in last year's All the Money in the World, bringing in Christopher Plummer to reshoot every scene that Spacey had already done. This means Spacey's last film that was released didn't actually include him, and then there's Gore which may just sit on a shelf forever.

The world of Hollywood and entertainment has seen a seismic shift in the past few years. After the Harvey Weinstein scandal broke the dam, allegations began flooding in about various powerful men in the industry. While not defending Kevin Spacey's alleged sexual misconduct, Dame Judi Dench takes umbrage with him being cut from a film role. She seems to think it sets a dangerous precedent, where actors can be fired from projects for any past impropriety.

Judi Dench's comments from San Sebastian Film Festival (via BBC) are sure to be polarizing for her generations of fans. The allegations made against Kevin Spacey are deeply personal by their nature, so emotions are high-- for even the outside observer. Yet the 83 year old actress doesn't think it should affect the movie itself, due to the imperfect nature of humans. Because one thing is clear in the current entertainment world: any past misstep has the potential to end your career.

Kevin Spacey's very public fall from grace was one of the first and biggest stories associated with the #MeToo movement, and the industry quickly attempted to distance itself from the actor. This included the cast of All the Money in the World, who insisted on reshoots in order to bring a new actor into Spacey's role. House of Cards will also release its final season this year without Spacey's protagonist Francis Underwood.

In addition to firings involving sexual misconduct, offensive comments have also gotten certain Hollywood figures fired. Roseanne Bar was fired by CBS for making jokes deemed racist, while Guardians of the Galaxy director/writer James Gunn was canned after offensive tweets from a decade ago resurfaced.

It's a method that countless shows and streaming services have followed, although House of Cards also has a dark cloud around its legacy. The series will conclude with its sixth and final season, and a new teaser revealed the show would be killing Francis Underwood off. But how?

Unfortunately, its seems we're not going to be getting that answer anytime soon. In addition to waiting until the season premieres in its entirety on November 2nd, House of Cards evidently won't be give Netflix subscribers the answers right away. Instead, the truth will slowly come out-- at least according to a new report by TV Line.

This newest rumor is certainly intriguing, and sounds like a brilliant way for House of Cards to exist in the shadow of Kevin Spacey's departure-- especially as it also ended Francis Underwood's story prematurely. By making his death a continually developing storyline, it keeps his presence in the show's final season. Furthermore, it allows House of Cards to get ahead of the narrative, and shape the unexpected departure into a purposeful story choice.

House of Cards will also break new ground by focusing on Robin Wright's Claire Underwood, allowing her to be the main narrator in the show's fourth wall breaking moments. This was slowly set up throughout Season 5, with Claire occasionally engaging with the audience. And the season ended with her looking directly into the camera, and proclaiming it was her turn. The seeds have been planted for Wright to emerge as an even larger presence in the show, and now she'll carry House of Cards and the country itself on President Claire Underwood's shoulders.

The future of House of Cards was put into jeopardy when allegations against Kevin Spacey began to flood in. After actor Anthony Rapp alleged the actor assaulted him at the age of 14, more men began to share their experiences-- including crew members from House of Cards. Still very early into filming Season 6, production was shut down indefinitely. Robin Wright reportedly went to bat for the cast and crew, and helped convince Netflix and the producers to finish the show's story. And that's exactly what they did.

When it comes to box office performance, a flop can mean a lot of different things. A big budget movie only making $100 million could be considered a flop, while a smaller film could flop with a gross closer to $20 million. The definition is relatively fluid, but with the release of Kevin Spacey's new movie Billionaire Boys Club, we can pretty much definitively confirm that it flopped with an opening day box office haul of $126.

That's right, folks. According to a report from THR, Kevin Spacey's new film barely cracked three figures in its theatrical opening day, after opening on VOD earlier this summer. Opening in only ten cities, Billionaire Boys Club bowed with $126 on its first day in theaters and then went on to earn another $162 the next day, bringing its two-day total to $287. With such a low total, Billionaire Boys Club has handily turned into Spacey's worst box office opening by a fairly substantial margin.

There are plenty of possible reasons why Billionaire Boys Club didn't perform well with audiences. However, one obvious element that we need to address is the series of sexual harassment and assault allegations towards Spacey that grabbed headlines last year. This all started when Star Trek Discovery actor Anthony Rapp came out and said that Spacey had made inappropriate sexual advances towards him when he was 14. In the fallout of those allegations, Spacey was pulled from a number of projects -- most notably Ridley Scott's All the Money in the World, in which his part was given to Christopher Plummer in reshoots.

All of this is made even more interesting when we consider how much Billionaire Boys Club had going for itself on paper. Prior to the allegations, Kevin Spacey was a hot commodity in Hollywood coming off of the heels of films like Baby Driver and his work on Netflix's House of Cards. Beyond him, the film also includes Baby Driver star Ansel Elgort and Kingsman: The Secret Service star Taron Egerton. Couple all of that with a real-life story about corruption and greed, and one could've assumed that this would at least be a moderate hit for Spacey.

On that note, Billionaire Boys Club centers its story on a real-life tale of green in 1980s Los Angeles. The film follows two young and hungry men (Elgort and Egerton) who team up with con man Ron Levin (Spacey) to form a get-rich-quick scheme that quickly goes south. In addition to the three leading men, the film also stars Star Wars actress Billie Lourd, The Princess Bride star Cary Elwes, and The Breakfast Club's Judd Nelson.

Back in October 2017, Hollywood was thrown for a loop when House of Cards star Kevin Spacey faced multiple accusations of improper sexual behavior, with at least one case involving a minor. Spacey was quickly ousted from all of his ongoing projects, including House of Cards, and his former co-star Robin Wright is finally speaking up about it after having kept mum for months while Season 6 went through its production phase. Saying she wasn't aware of his inappropriate behavior elsewhere, Wright described her relationship with Spacey as such:

Robin Wright's answer to Today could be considered somewhat surprising. On the one hand, she and Spacey portrayed one of the most powerful couples on TV for the past five years, so one might expect them to be very close away from the show. But on the other hand, the Underwoods are far more duplicitous and scheme-ready than most husband-and-wife combos on TV, so perhaps Frank and Claire's motivations and machinations got in the way of Wright and Spacey becoming better friends.

However it went, Robin Wright stands by the fact that Kevin Spacey was always "respectful" and "professional" in their relationship, and that he was "great" with her. To that end, Wright felt like that's the only aspect of the situation that she felt she really had a right to talk about.

But even though House of Cards Season 6 will put Claire Underwood front and center in the Oval Office, while also giving the actress a chance to direct the series finale, Robin Wright isn't necessarily 100% convinced that booting Spacey was the right decision for Netflix to have made. In her words:

House of Cards is set to premiere its final season sometime in 2018, which is quite an achievement considering the series seemed dead in the water last year. The scandal with Kevin Spacey certainly had spirits low, with some thinking cancellation was all but certain. But actress Patricia Clarkson recently revealed Robin Wright was always ready to press on. Apparently, Wright was a big part in helping the series return for its final episodes, and rallied those around her at a time where things weren't looking so good:

Robin Wright doesn't just play a powerful leader on House of Cards, she's apparently a force to be reckoned with in real life as well. Patricia Clarkson said it was Wright who rallied show writers Frank Pugliese and Melissa Gibson, who only had a short amount of time to throw out the planned season and rework the drama in a way that didn't involve Kevin Spacey. It was a monumental task for any show writer to take on, but Clarkson told The Talk everyone was able to pull through thanks to Wright's rallying and insistence in saving the crew's jobs.

Patricia Clarkson implied the effort put into reworking House of Cards was worth it, as she described the upcoming eight-episode season as "stunning." Of course, there was also the added bonus of most of the show's crew, who didn't have a guaranteed check when the show's status was in limbo, staying on board to help make the finale happen. Once again, it took Robin Wright not only taking on the fight to keep everyone's jobs, but also the responsibility of being the new head of the series in a season without Kevin Spacey. And while some may have originally doubted Wright's ability to lead the show, they may have been silenced by her chilling Season 5 scenes, or her recent Independence Day message.

As mentioned, House of Cards is expected to arrive on Netflix sometime in 2018. It's been eight months since allegations came to light stating that Kevin Spacey had been involved in sexual misconduct, including making advances toward a 14-year-old Anthony Rapp. In the time since, Netflix's House of Cards moved forward without the actor and Spacey was fully replaced by Christopher Plummer in the holiday release All The Money in the World. However, there's still the question of other projects that Kevin Spacey had completed prior to the allegations coming to light. Now, we've learned one of them, Billionaire Boys Club, is going to be released this July.

Billionaire Boys Club was a movie Kevin Spacey filmed two and a half years ago, but has been stuck in limbo since the allegations against Spacey came to light. Reports indicate the movie was being shopped last October, and in fact a deal may have been made, had Anthony Rapp not come forward with his story. Similar reports from other men then followed, and Billionaire Boys Club was put on ice.

The movie stars Kevin Spacey opposite his Baby Driver co-star Ansel Elgort. The story is a biographical drama about a real-life club in Los Angeles in the 1980s promoting get-rich-quick types of Ponzi Schemes. The club eventually turned to murder in real life, and that will be the basic plot for the Billionaire Boys Club movie, as well. In addition, to Elgort and Spacey, Taron Egerton, Cary Elwes, Emma Roberts, Billie Lourd and Judd Nelson also star in the upcoming movie. Judd Nelson had previously been in a miniseries of the same name back in the eighties.

It takes a lot of work and effort for a movie project to come together in the first place, and Billionaire Boys Club features a lot of talent outside of Kevin Spacey who didn't ask to be in this current situation. Still, it's a sticky and unenviable position to be in, and various projects with Kevin Spacey have handled life post-allegations in different ways. All The Money in the World went out of its way to simply re-film entire sequences in the movie and pretend that Kevin Spacey had never happened. Gore another movie starring Spacey that was set to hit Netflix and was in post-production at the time of the allegations, has simply been cancelled and shelved.

The last few months have seen a number of dramatic upheavals take place all over Hollywood. Following a series of allegations of sexual misconduct made against Baby Driver star Kevin Spacey, we have seen some massive changes take within companies that had previously associated with the Spacey brand. One such organization is streaming giant Netflix, which has reportedly taken a hit of almost $40 million in its attempts to distance itself from Kevin Spacey and the allegations against him.

This announcement came during Netflix's reveal of its fourth-quarter earnings of 2017, in which the company revealed that it took a $39 million write-down. This was reportedly a result of a decision "not to move forward with" an unrevealed piece of content. Given the steep price tag of the loss, it seems reasonable to assume that this dropped piece of material is none other than Netflix's Gore Vidal biopic that the streaming service recently opted not to pursue -- especially considering the scale of the project and the price Kevin Spacey likely would've required.

The overall assumption seems to be that Kevin Spacey played a role in the write-down, but there are other contributing factors here as well. As noted by Variety's report of Netflix's $39 million, Kevin Spacey might not represent the full source of the loss. In addition to cutting ties with the actor, the streaming service also backed out if a planned stand-up comedy special with Louis C.K., following allegations of sexual misconduct against him. Similarly, recent rape allegations made against That '70s Show alum Danny Masterson has led to the suspension of production on The Ranch Season 3.

One thing worth clarifying about this situation is that House of Cards, unlike the Gore Vidal biopic, will still definitely happen at Netflix. Despite the decision to drop Kevin Spacey's Frank Underwood from the series, the show is still going to round out its run with a final season -- presumably focusing on the exploits of Claire Underwood. Of course, if Netflix ever decides that it needs to recast Gore Vidal or Frank Underwood, we suppose that it could always take a cue from All the Money in the World and just bring in Christopher Plummer.

Even with the rushed nature of the unplanned reshoots, the actors wound up doing them for free. As director Ridley Scott tells it:

This is pretty remarkable and is no doubt a huge help considering the 22 scenes that needed to be reshot cost over $10 million. The director notes to USA Today that of course Christopher Plummer and the crew were paid for their work on the reshoots. The fact that Michelle Williams and Mark Wahlberg, actors who are household names in high demand, gave up their time over the Thanksgiving holiday to see this movie completed definitely speaks to their belief in the film. The reshoots were done in a very compressed timeline with the movie's release date set for less than two months away. It is just fortunate that the actors were available and willing, because now the film will still make its release window and be up for awards consideration.

It would be easy for the stars of All the Money in the World to chalk this up as a loss and move on. Coming back and doing the reshoots for free speaks to their character and faith in Ridley Scott. It's no easy thing to have a film that you worked on and put your time and your energy into overshadowed by something completely beyond your control. There is also the consideration that this film is based on a true story where real people's lives were affected. As an artist you would likely want to do justice to that and not allow external factors to do a disservice to the story. Had this film been released with Kevin Spacey still in a pivotal role, it would never be judged entirely on its own merits.

While All the Money in the World will never entirely be divorced from the nature of its production and its former star, it seems that this move has paid off. Up until last month, moviegoers were expecting to see Kevin Spacey portray J. Paul Getty in All the Money in the World. However, when the numerous sexual harassment allegations directed towards Spacey started flowing in, director Ridley Scott decided to cut the actor out of the movie and bring in Christopher Plummer to play Getty instead. Thanks to speedy reshoots, nearly all of Spacey's scenes in All the Money in the World now have been replaced with Plummer's performance. However, Scott has confirmed that there is still one shot of Spacey kept in the finalized cut.

As The Tracking Board editor-in-chief Jeff Sneider recently noted on his Twitter page, film critic Jeff Wells noticed a single shot of Kevin Spacey's J. Paul Getty in an All the Money in the World screening, to which Ridley Scott responded, "Good catch." For those worried about continuity issues, this particular shot wasn't a close-up of Getty's face. So unless you're eagle-eyed like Wells, it's unlikely you'll notice this shot jump out at you as the movie is playing. For the other 99% of the All the Money in the World, it's Christopher Plummer portraying the industrialist, just like TriStar Pictures wants it. But for those of you particularly eager to find this shot, you can always scan for it when All the Money in the World comes out on home video.

Kevin Spacey's removal from All the Money in the World came in early November, when the movie was only six weeks away from arriving in theaters. Ridley Scott subsequently brought in Christopher Plummer, who was reportedly Scott's original choice to play J. Paul Getty, but studio executives were supposedly insistent that the director cast Spacey, who was a "bigger name." The All the Money in the World reshoots (which could have cost as much as $10 million) began on November 20 and concluded on November 29, with Mark Wahlberg and Michelle Williams returning to reprise their roles.

Paul Getty, All the Money in the World follows John Paul Getty III's kidnapping at the hands of an organized crime syndicate. When J. Paul Getty, a.k.a. John's grandfather, refuses to pay the ransom, John's mother, Gail Harris, works with former CIA agent Fletcher Chase to either free John themselves or convince the elder Getty to change his mind and provide the money. All the Money in the World has already secured three Golden Globe nominations: Best Actress in a Motion Picture - Drama, Best Supporting Actor in a Motion Picture - Drama and Best Director - Motion Picture.

This morning, the nominations for the 75th annual Golden Globes were announced, and there were some surprises as well as some confirmed hits among the Hollywood Foreign Press Association. But mixed into the field was a film that's yet to screen on a wide scale, yet has been talked about for quite some time now. With three nominations in an already crowded field, we really have to ask, is All The Money In The World an Oscar contender for frontrunners to fear?

First off, let's take a look at the nominations it picked up. All The Money In The World currently sits as nominated for Best Actor in a Supporting Role -- Drama (Christopher Plummer), Best Actress in a Leading Role -- Drama (Michelle Williams), and Best Director -- Drama (Ridley Scott). One key nomination that seems to be missing is the big ticket nomination for the film itself in the Best Picture -- Drama field, which one would assume would kind of be needed in order to convince the Academy that this is a film to be paid attention to. But with these three nominations, we can begin to make a case for either side.

In one sense, All The Money In The World can be seen as an Oscar threat, simply because of the fact that a film that came together in such a short time managed to be awards worthy after all. With Ridley Scott working at breakneck pace, and Michelle Williams along for the ride, the two collaborators have done a good enough job with the final product turned in that the Hollywood Foreign Press Association (who nominates for the Golden Globes) believes their work merits rewarding. And if that wasn't enough, Christopher Plummer's nomination might have you believe that his short turn around as a replacement for Kevin Spacey's J. Paul Getty might have saved and/or improved the film.

However, the fact that All The Money In The World didn't manage to secure a Best Picture -- Drama does manage to stick out a little bit. While the nominations at hand do seem to indicate that Ridley Scott's film may pick up some fringe votes, it's not a good sign of whether the film will find itself in the Best Picture field of the Academy Awards. While there's a slate of up to 10 possible films that the Oscars can nominate, the films in both the Musical or Comedy and Drama fields for Best Picture at the Golden Globes are a strong slate. And since the Oscars aren't limited by genre, the competition is going to be fiercer than ever, as everything from comedies like The Disaster Artist and I,Tonya to dramas like The Post and The Shape of Water are going to be battling it out for those slots. It's not an impossible feat, but it's rather improbable if you look at it from a certain point of view.

With just three nominations for individual contributions, but no nod for the overall party, it looks like All The Money In The World could be a fringe film that the Golden Globes tends to honor with some consideration, only for the Academy Awards to go in a different direction. Anything can change between now and when All The Money In The World hits theaters. Not to mention, Oscar voting closes on January 13, 2018; which gives the film some time to pick up critical steam between now and the deadline. But with all of the other contenders already at somewhat of a head start, it definitely looks like Ridley Scott's latest is going to have more of an uphill battle to fight if it's going to get anywhere near its contemporaries. It's been about three weeks since Ridley Scott made the decision to remove Kevin Spacey from his upcoming movie All The Money In The World, to add Christopher Plummer, and to make the changes in time to hit the film's December 22 release date. It's hard to believe the movie managed such a quick turnaround, but here we are, just a few short weeks later with the full and brand new All The Money In The World trailer already out. While the first All the Money in the World trailer used The Zombies "Time of the Season" and young lead Charlie Plummer to introduce us to the world of the Gettys in the 1960s. This time around, there's no pomp or circumstance around the kidnapping. Instead, the new look at the movie starts by focusing on J. Paul Getty, whom the trailer pronounces as "the richest man in the world," nay not just the world, "the history of the world." We get a look at him relaxing on a shooting range and being the type of hardass who doesn't want to pay a cent to anyone who kidnapped one of his relatives. It's a quick glance, but it does show us how quickly the movie turned around once it decided to go in a new direction after the allegations came in.

Honestly, this whole thing is kind of interesting in terms of an audience perspective. Although many of us who aren't privy to the festival circuit haven't gotten to see All The Money in the World, yet, it's rare that we get to see what two completely different actors would bring to the same role. (At least on the big screen; this is less of a thing in the theater when casts change.) We've heard stories before about different actors or actresses competing for the same role and there's always an interesting facet to that, like, I wonder how Jennifer Lawrence would have been in Easy A instead of Emma Stone. Or I wonder how Pierce Brosnan would have been as Batman in a Tim Burton flick, right? In this case, we've seen Kevin Spacey in the trailer and we've seen Christopher Plummer, and it's a really unique experience to see how the trailer has changed, even if the circumstances for why the changes were made are not something we would hope for.

The movie world has been through the ringer over the past couple of months, as allegations about misbehavior among some of Hollywood's elite have started coming to light. Prominent among these were a set of allegations against Kevin Spacey, who has been alleged to have cornered several young men during the course of his work over the years. Spacey came out as gay after the first allegations, and as more stories have come to light, he has lost prominent jobs, including on Netflix's House of Cards and in All The Money in the World.

Netflix's flagship drama series, House of Cards, was rocked after allegations of sexual assault regarding star Kevin Spacey emerged. Spacey has been fired from the show, which is currently on hiatus as the producers and writers try to figure out how best to move forward without Frank Underwood for House of Cards' sixth and final season. An official decision regarding the show's future direction was meant to have been made by Thanksgiving and now House of Cards' production company has released a statement to the cast and crew declaring the hiatus will last another two weeks.

Media Rights Capital senior vice president Pauline Micelli sent a letter to the cast and crew informing them that House of Cards will remain on hiatus for at least another couple of weeks, presumably so the creative team can continue to properly figure out the best ways to write Kevin Spacey's Frank Underwood out of the drama. The letter, which made its way to the press (via The Hollywood Reporter), informed personnel that they will be continue to be paid through the extension, which will will go from November 27 through December 8, while the writing staff and a "small contingency of office/accounting staff" will remain in the production offices on a continuous basis.

The letter ends with a rallying cry of sorts, with Pauline Micelli praising everyone for remaining patient and positive during this trying time, and that this experience was a learning experience to the end that the "production is bigger than just one person," and that the company could not be more proud to work with one of the "most loyal and talented production cast and crews in this business." Moreover, while MRC execs hope that every member of the crew will be available to reconvene when production eventually resumes, they understand that some may need to find new work in the hiatus, which would prevent them from joining Season 6.

While it is not outright stated, it seems that the goal will be to resume production following the hiatus' December 8 end date. House of Cards was originally supposed to wrap production on Season 6 in May of 2018, but it's unknown if that is still a feasible goal, or if that date will be also be pushed back further in the controversy's aftermath. The production and writing staff certainly have a tough job ahead of them, since eight months of script work had been completed before Kevin Spacey was dismissed from House of Cards. It's unknown whether or not a top-to-bottom rewrite was needed, or if only a minimal amount of work was needed to shift the narrative to solely center on Robin Wright's Claire Underwood, but it's an unenviable position to be in.

Kevin Spacey's Hollywood ousting is only one of many stories that have gone public following an increasingly long string of sexual assault and harassment allegagtions. In the TV world, several productions beyond House of Cards have had to grind to a halt or completely reshuffle themselves. The Arrow-verse's Andrew Kreisberg, Transparent's Jeffrey Tambor, and comedian Louis C.K. are just a few of the high-profile celebs whose alleged misconduct -- not just alleged in C.K.'s case -- is changing the entertainment landscape.

Netflix's hallmark drama House of Cards is currently dealing with a situation that's dark and disturbing enough to have happened to one of the show's morally unkempt characters. Former star Kevin Spacey is currently embroiled with multiple sexual harassment/assault accusations that have basically ended his career for the time being, but Netflix might not have such an easy or cheap time booting Spacey off of the show in an official capacity, thanks to his contract reportedly not having a morality clause that would automatically prompt a suspension or termination.

Had Kevin Spacey's contract been embedded with a morality clause, that would allow for the actor to lose his job based on his personal actions outside of the show's now-halted production. Which, in this case, would include the incident where Spacey allegedly got sexual with a then-14-year-old Anthony Rapp during a party. According to The Blast, the only way that Spacey can legally get fired at this point would be if he was unavailable to film, or if he would be incapacitated in some way. And considering Spacey hasn't legally been detained by the police or anything -- he's voluntarily seeking treatment in Arizona -- he's technically able to take part in the potential sixth season, though it's not likely to happen that way.

Because there's nothing directly affecting any Frank Underwood performances, so to speak, then Netflix would legally be in the wrong for firing and/or suspending Kevin Spacey. Currently, he's being suspended according to production company MRC's sexual harassment policy while the company does an in-house investigation, but if that investigation doesn't bear damning fruit, there may not be much ground for Netflix to stand on. Which means execs would end up owing the actor a ton of money for breaking contract, and though Netflix does have oodles of money at its disposal, the company would probably rather use that money creating original content than paying Spacey off. (Plus, because Spacey isn't an employee directly with MRC, its harassment policy might not even apply to the actor, suspension-wise.)

There actually was an incident during the first season of House of Cards that involved alleged harassment from Kevin Spacey, but that situation was handled and supposedly resolved by MRC, and so it's not expected to be useful for Netflix's side of the argument. The production team reportedly sent letters to cast and crew members asking about similar incidents that occurred, and it's mentioned that Spacey's team suspects this was a move done to try and save the producers some face after being so impulsive with the initial decisions for how to handle Spacey's allegations. We're curious to see where the rest of the investigation goes.

So for now, it's very unclear what's going to actually happen with House of Cards for Season 6 and beyond, with the proposed spinoff still potentially in the running. It's a sobering time in the entertainment industry, as formerly respected figures in Hollywood are being accused of sexual misconduct on almost a daily basis. After allegations began pouring in about Harvey Weinstein, resulting in his firing from both his company and the film academy, the floodgates truly opened. A bevy of actors, directors, and producers have now been accused of using their power to influence, assault, or harass others, with their careers seemingly being ended in the process. And now Star Trek actor and pop culture icon George Takei has been accused of assaulting a former model in his home in 1981.

News broke yesterday at THR, with Scott R Brunton detailing how he became disoriented after a night of drinking, temporarily losing consciousness in George Takei's home. He claims that he regained consciousness to find Takei groping him and undressing him. Afterward, he fled the residence. He allegedly told friends about the situation over the years but is just now coming forward in a more public capacity with his story. You can read an excerpt below...

George Takei has since taken to social media to refute this claim, claiming he doesn't even remember Scott R Brunton at all. On his Twitter thread response, Takei said this:

So far Scott R Brunton is the only one to accuse George Takei of sexual assault, and it's not clear exactly how this will affect his career moving forward. That being said, these type of accusations often change the trajectory of a variety of projects, so it's certainly something that is being taken seriously in the industry.

That's definitely shown to be the case with some other high profile entertainment professionals in the past few weeks. After Harvey Weinstein was ousted from his various positions, Star Trek: Discovery actor Anthony Rapp accused Kevin Spacey of sexually harassing him at the age of 14. A variety of other accusers, many of which were on the crew of House of Cards, have since come forward, and Netflix has cut ties with the Academy Award winning actor. And just yesterday comedian Louis CK admitted to allegations of sexual misconduct, claiming that consent means something else when you're in a position of power. Since then, CK's movie I Love You, Daddy has been canned, with FX cutting ties and The Secret Life Of Pets sequel dropping him from the lead role.

In the wake of the sexual assault allegations that have been directed at Kevin Spacey over the last few weeks, it was announced two days ago that director Ridley Scott has decided to remove the actor from his upcoming movie, All the Money in the World. Christopher Plummer has been hired to play J. Paul Getty in Spacey's place, and surprisingly, Sony is still planning on releasing the crime drama late next month. These reshoots will undoubtedly be challenging, but they'll also be quite expensive, reportedly costing over $10 million.

According to Variety's report on the All the Money in the World reshoots, there are several factors responsible for such a high cost. First off, an actor like Christopher Plummer fetches somewhere between $250,000 and $400,000 for this kind of supporting role. Like Spacey, Plummer is only expected to shoot his J. Paul Getty scenes over eight to ten days. However, rather than shoot Plummer in front of a green screen and then place him into pre-existing footage, Ridley Scott and the producers believe it will be more "economical and effective" to simply recreate those scenes with Plummer's Getty interacting with other actors. Filming is expected to commence within the next two weeks so that this altered version of All the Money in the World is ready to go by December 15.

But wait, it doesn't end there. On top of Christopher Plummer being brought on to All the Money in the World, Michelle Williams and Mark Wahlberg are also returning for the reshoots. Both actors previously had two weeks of reshoots scheduled as per their contracts, but if these new reshoots exceeded that original amount, then they will be paid their pro-weekly rate. Add in the money that will be poured into new marketing materials, and spending over $10 million makes sense. It's also worth noting that none of these costs are expected to be covered by insurance.

These All the Money in the World reshoots won't just have a financial cost attached either. One of the reasons Sony is determined to still release the movie next month (aside from wanting it seen before FX's Getty kidnapping miniseries Trust premieres) is so that it can be an awards contender next year. In normal circumstances, voters for these awards committees usually receive screeners in early November. However, the studio believes that enough voters will be able to check out All the Money in the World in December's final weeks. We'll have to wait and see how the final product turns out, but if Sony can successfully pull this off, let alone get accolades afterwards, then it could set a new precedent for major productions looking to make drastic changes when hit with behind-the-scenes controversy. It's been a harrowing few weeks in the world of TV and film. Following the myriad allegations against producer Harvey Weinstein, we've seen the floodgates open in regards to sexual harassment and assault cases from powerful Hollywood men. These types of accusations have led to the demise of various projects and entertainment professionals like Kevin Spacey. And the past few days saw a handful of women came forward, claiming that comedian Louis CK exposed himself and masturbated in front of them. This has resulted in CK's projects being shut down, and now the actor/comedian has spoken out about the accusations. He's admitted to it all.

Louis CK issued a personal statement via social media, confirming the behavior detailed in the allegations against him. He wrote up a lengthy post (via USA Today) taking ownership for his actions, and apparently taking pause to truly listen to the alleged survivors. You can see some of his statement below.

Unlike the response from some of the other recently accused Hollywood royalty, Louis CK seems to really own up to the accusations made against his behavior throughout the years. And while taking responsibility is sure to be a bit of a relief for the accusers, it's unclear how exactly Louis CK's career could possibly move on from here.

Louis CK is the latest in a line of male Hollywood figures that have been accused of being sexually inappropriate with potential actors, crew members, or fans. While the comedian hasn't been accused of putting his hands on anyone, he was accused by five women of behavior including masturbating in front of them. He's since admitted to his wrongdoings, and seems ready to face the backlash that has already come down upon him.

And in just a day or two, we've seen all of the actor's projects shut down in quick succession. His independent film I Love You, Daddy has been cancelled indefinitely, just days before it was set to release. The film contains a fair amount of content that is unacceptable given Louis CK's behavior in the past, including a myriad of jokes about masturbation. Additionally, he has been dropped by both Netflix and HBO. Plus, FX has had to take action as well, despite the long working relationship he's had with the network through his show Louis.

But Louis CK certainly isn't alone as he watches his career decline in the wake of sexual misconduct allegations. Kevin Spacey has been disowned by Netflix and film studios, and Harvey Weinstein has been removed from both his company and the Film Academy. Accusers have also come out against Jeremy Piven, Dustin Hoffman, Brett Ratner, and Charlie Sheen. And while its sobering to hear about the misconduct that was permitted for years in Hollywood, hopefully this will lead to a change in perspective and shift for the landscape of entertainment.

Following allegations against Harvey Weinstein's misconduct and assault on women, there have been a ton of new revelations of powerful men in the Hollywood acting similarly. A major bomb dropped earlier this week when Star Trek: Discovery and RENT star Anthony Rapp accused Kevin Spacey of sexually harassing him when he was just 14 years old. Since then, members of the House of Cards crew have also come forward about Spacey's inappropriate behavior, prompting the streaming service to postpone production on Season 6 indefinitely. And now Netflix has completely separated itself from the acclaimed actor/producer, dropping him from House of Cards and cancelling his upcoming biopic Gore. But what's next for the acclaimed series?

Netflix recently addressed the future of HoC (via THR), saying:

It looks like House of Cards might not be dead just yet. Because although production isn't currently shooting the series, they're exploring ways that the show can continue without the presence of Kevin Spacey's Francis Underwood.

As awkward as the show will be void of Frank, it does seem like the groundwork has already been laid to make Robin Wright's Claire Underwood the main protagonist of the series. Throughout Season 5, House of Cards teased time and time again that Claire will begin breaking the fourth wall and addressing the audience- Frank's signature move in the first four seasons. And after a knowing look or two, she finally took charge in the final moments of the season finale. She looked directly into the camera and said "my turn" before the screen cut to black.

Perhaps the best way to write Francis out of the show would to let the Feds get him for his many wrongdoings over the first five seasons. Last season's finale also strongly implied that President Claire would not be pardoning him for his crimes, out of fear of the public's opinion. If she were to let her husband meet the full extent of the law, then he could easily fade out of the show. Claire said it was her turn, so maybe the final season of House of Cards will let Robin Wright truly lead the series. She's also a recurring director on the show, so she certainly deserves the focus and acclaim.

Let's just hope that Netflix does manage to complete the story of House of Cards and rally another season of movie conclusion. The show changed the map of TV when Netflix premiered the first season back in 2013, and it would be a tragedy for the show not to get a proper ending.

In light of the shocking accusations lodged against Kevin Spacey by actor Anthony Rapp, the streaming service previously announced that the upcoming Season 6 of House Of Cards would be the show's final season. Less than 24 hours later, it is being reported that production on Season 6 has been suspended indefinitely, and chances of the series properly finishing out its run appear unlikely at the moment.

The news comes from Deadline, who writes that the cast and crew of House Of Cards were informed of the decision this morning. Netflix released a joint statement with Media Rights Capital (who produces the series) and stated that the two companies are taking the time to review the "current situation" and address any and all concerns the cast and crew may have. Executives from both organizations traveled to the Baltimore set of the series yesterday to speak with cast and crew, and it is believed that Kevin Spacey was not present or scheduled to be there.

As of this writing, the final season of House Of Cards was believed to be 13 episodes long, with a premiere eyed for mid-2018. Now that production has been halted on the series indefinitely, this would probably affect the show's release window, and that's assuming it will resume production following the investigation. Without knowing how far along the sixth season was in filming, or how long this halt in production could last, it's possible the series could see no change in schedule should the situation get resolved rather quickly. (Considering the circumstances, though, that is on the far end of the possibility spectrum.)

If production is forever suspended and the series is cancelled before House Of Cards reaches its planned conclusion, one has to wonder what will become of the rumored spinoff Netflix and MRC are reportedly talking about. Since a new House of Cards offshoot would likely follow whatever happened in Season 6, it's unclear if the streaming service will pass on the still-unofficial project, or if little would change beyond the story's starting point.

Kevin Spacey, who is the root of all of this drama, has been silent on social media following his public apology to Anthony Rapp, so we shouldn't expect any reactions from him. However, Lord Michael Dobbs, who created the original U.K. version of the series, was very disappointed in the production's possibly permanent stoppage. Here's what he told Deadline.

The future of House Of Cards is uncertain as this whole situation continues to develop. Currently, all 5 seasons of House Of Cards are available to stream on Netflix. One of the latest big bombshells to hit Hollywood involved Oscar winner Kevin Spacey being accused of sexual assault by Star Trek: Discovery actor Anthony Rapp, and reactions to the news have been as swift and harsh as one would expect. Unsurprisingly, Netflix officially decided to pull the plug on House of Cards beyond the upcoming Season 6. But it appears the streaming giant isn't entirely done with all of the show's characters and political machinations, as Netflix is reportedly gearing up development for a House of Cards spinoff. And there's more than one idea at play.

Though neither Netflix nor production company Media Rights Capital are going on the record yet with talks of a House of Cards spinoff, Variety reports that both companies are in the early stages of developing a follow-up that steers clear of Frank Underwood's long and winding tale in Washington D.C. Multiple pitches are in contention at this point, but it sounds as though only one full spinoff series is being planned, as opposed to spreading the political love. And fans should be pumped that everyone's favorite White House Chief of Staff (among other duties) is first in line for one of those projects.

That's right, the Emmy-nominated Michael Kelly is at the center of one potential House of Cards spinoff. No details have been given about what that project's storyline would specifically be about, which makes sense, considering fans have no idea where his character Doug Stamper will be after Season 6. With Claire now the head woman on campus in Washington D.C., it's not even clear where Doug will be when Season 6 stars up. But he's an obvious choice for a character worthy of getting expanded beyond House of Cards' proper ending.

Again, things are still in the earliest stages of coming together, but the Doug Stamper project already has a writer onboard to craft a storyline pitch. Eric Roth, screenwriter of Forrest Gump and The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, has been tapped to write something up for it. (Incidentally, The Doug Stamper Project sounds ready-made for a battle of the bands flyer.) Roth served as an executive producer on House of Cards for its first four seasons, as well as an EP for the first season of the Epix political thriller Berlin Station, and is now performing the same duties for the upcoming TNT serial killer drama The Alienist. He's definitely got the know-how to make a Doug Stamper spinoff work.

Aside from that partially formed idea, there are apparently two other spinoff pitches being considered, but without any particular writers signed on for either of them. What's known, though, is that they would also obviously still take place within the same debauchery-filled political landscape as House of Cards itself. Just in case anyone thought that a spinoff would shift the location to Biloxi, Mississippi or something.

While those close to the show say that Season 6 was already being set up to be House of Cards' final season, the timing of the quasi-cancellation can't be coincidental. The formal announcement was made less than day after Kevin Spacey was accused of sexually assaulting Anthony Rapp at a party back around 1985, when the latter actor was just 14 years old. Spacey apologized for the alleged incident on social media, using that moment to declare that he's gay, and the response has been put through the wringer by just about everyone out there. It's to the point where, if House of Cards was a movie, it would have been scrapped by now, so it'll be interesting to see how (or if) Season 6 actually happens as planned.

Academy Award winner Kevin Spacey has been accused of making a sexual advance toward a fourteen-year-old male actor. The advance allegedly happened all the way back in 1986. Spacey's career on Broadway was just taking off. He was twenty-six and starring in Long Day's Journey Into Night. Around that time, he allegedly met Anthony Rapp, who would later achieve fame as part of the original Rent cast. And in Dazed and Confused. And in Star Trek: Discovery. And in way more. He was fourteen, and during a party at Spacey's residence, the House Of Cards star allegedly picked him up, carried him to a bed and pressed against him.

The story was officially told by Anthony Rapp on the record for Buzzfeed today. He also told a far less detailed version for The Advocate all the way back in 2001, though Spacey's name was redacted at the time. Not anymore. In light of all the recent allegations that have exploded around Hollywood, Rapp came forward and shared the alleged event.

According to Rapp, he met Spacey at a post-show function and later, accompanied by a seventeen-year-old friend, went out with the much older actor to a nightclub. A few days later, he allegedly went to a party at Spacey's house. Not knowing anyone, Rapp claims he went into a bedroom and watched television by himself until around midnight when he says a drunk Spacey entered, picked him up and laid him on the bed. He then allegedly pressed himself on top until the fourteen-year-old squirmed his way out and went into the bathroom. Rapp then claims he walked back out and said he wanted to leave. He says Spacey asked if he was sure. He said he was and he left. The two have not spoken since.

Warning: possible spoilers ahead for Baby Driver. Read ahead at your own risk!

Baby Driver is one of the most meticulously-planned and thought out movies that we have seen in quite a while, but that doesn't change the fact that the cast and crew still had to improvise here and there during production. In fact, when Edgar Wright wanted to redo part of the elevator sequence towards the beginning of the film, he went to the set of House of Cards to work with Kevin Spacey once the Oscar-winner had finished for the day. The duo opened up about this at a recent Cars, Arts, & Beats: A Night Out with Baby Driver event in Los Angeles and said:

Apparently, in the original version of the Baby Driver script, Doc's lines to Baby in the elevator scene were actually uttered towards the end of the film -- after he has been run over by Buddy. Edgar Wright wanted to get those character moments into the film earlier, so he took it upon himself to go to Baltimore and shoot the lines near the House of Cards set. Then, once the footage was in the can, Spacey was added to the elevator scene with the other actors around him.

Of course, the notion that Doc was supposed to have more lines after being hit by Buddy's car only raises our suspicions that he could return someday. Elsewhere during the same conversation, Kevin Spacey expressed interest in returning for a possible Baby Driver sequel, lending further credence to the idea that Wright may have intended for Doc to survive the film -- albeit with some pretty substantial injuries.

If this is true, then it sounds like a similar technique used earlier this year by James Gunn on the set of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2. Specifically, at the very end of Guardians when Peter Quill gives a eulogy for a dearly-departed ally -- which we won't spoil here if you haven't seen it. In that scene, Gunn and Chris Pratt had shot a sequence with everyone on the set, but they eventually came up with an idea for the funeral that they liked even more, and as such, they went back and inserted Pratt into the scene using green screen. Whether it's a Marvel Cinematic Universe blockbuster or a smaller indie like Baby Driver, movie magic really is magical, isn't it?

Baby Driver is currently available on Digital HD, and the DVD and Blu-ray editions of the film will hit shelves next week on October 10. At this point, Kevin Spacey is an actor who needs no introduction. However, that looks like it's about to change in a major way (the recognizable part, at least), because the first official for Ridley Scott's All the Money in the World has officially debuted, and it appears that Kevin Spacey has truly enveloped himself in his new role as real-life billionaire J. Paul Getty. Check out the trailer below.

Based solely on this trailer, it looks like All the Money in the World is trying to frame Kevin Spacey's version of J. Paul Getty as a Charles Foster Kane-esque figure. The decision to keep him at arm's length for much of the preview helps sell the mystique of the character, and it lends the sense that he's nothing if not eccentric. The film centers its story on the kidnapping of the grandson of the notorious billionaire in 1973, as well as his subsequent refusal to pay the ransom. With no financial rescue on the way, the boy's mother teams up with an investigator to help bring him home as his kidnappers torture and mutilate him. Think Argo meets Ransom.

Beyond Kevin Spacey, it looks like All the Money in the World has put together a fantastic ensemble of performers to tell this particular story. Filling out the rest of the central cast is Mark Wahlberg, Manchester by the Sea's Michelle Williams, and Boardwalk Empire's Charlie Plummer -- all looking far more recognizable than Mr. Spacey in this film. Seriously, the guy looks almost nothing like he usually does on the silver screen.

Aside from all of the talent on display in front of (as well as behind) the camera, there's arguably a real possibility that All the Money in the World could become a legitimate awards contender when it debuts later this year. The film's ranks have been packed with enough prestige for us to start taking it seriously when Oscar season rolls around, and its December release date could go a long way towards boosting its chances. Now we will just have to wait and see how audiences respond to it when it finally debuts.

Netflix's House of Cards is a groundbreaking TV series that broke the mold in regards to how quality programming is produced in the age of streaming. Since then, Netflix and its competitors have produced an outstanding amount of online programming, which is able to function outside of the world of advertising. And with House of Cards releasing its shocking fifth season, the dark political drama shows no signs of slowing. On the contrary, Season 5 was perhaps the most cutthroat and thrilling entry into the series yet. Plenty of jaw dropping moments occurred, and we've managed to whittle it down to seven savage moments for Season 5.

Francis Has Terrorist Joshua Masterson Killed

In the final episodes of Season 4, we saw as two domestic terrorists kidnapped an innocent American family on our soil. And while the mother and daughter were eventually released, the shocking cliffhanger saw James Miller beheaded by the ICO sympathizers, with Claire and Francis proclaiming that they will use terror and fear to rally the American people. The first episode of Season 5 saw the wide range manhunt for terrorist Joshua Masterson, but Frank had other plans

Because he had captured Masterson all along, using the threat of his escape as a tool to manipulate both the public and press. We see Francis come face to face with Masterson (the first time Frank addresses the audience in the season), and assume he'll quickly be tried and sentenced. Instead, Frank tells his guard to murder him and "get rid of the asset". Despite Masterson being an American citizen, Francis refuses to give him the right to trial, and takes him out of this world.

The Underwoods Steal The Election

While the Underwoods were facing a variety of threats to their security this season, they were also in the midst of their campaign for Francis' re-election, with Claire running as VP. But with the massive amount of scandals and protest around the country, the Underwoods saw a potential loss on the horizon. So it was time to play dirty...er.

In order to put a pause on the election, Francis and his associates ran a long con. Using the threat of domestic terrorism, they had states open polling centers that were heavily guarded. And on election day through the use of fear, staged attacks, and insane favors from politicians, the Underwoods stopped two states from successfully polling their constituents. From there, they reached in and out of all branches of government, before opening up those states again after Will Conway's own scandals shifted the power back to Frank. And just like that, both Underwoods were sworn in.

Claire Kills Tom Yates Mid-Coitus

Throughout Season 5, we saw the divide between Claire and Francis continue to grow. While they worked together, the couple were largely unromantic. Instead, writer Tom Yates spent a great deal of time at Claire's side, with the two even sleeping most nights in her bed together and sharing words of love. But when Tom's presence in the White House threatens to bring another scandal to the administration, Claire breaks it of. The only problem is that she'd already revealed Francis' murder of both Zoe Barnes and Peter Russo, so Tom knew too much.

In order to rectify this, Claire meets with Tom one last time. The two share a drink and begin having sex, but it soon becomes clear that Tom is having trouble breathing. While she continues their sexual escapade, Yates eventually dies, with Claire revealing that she poisoned him before they started doing the horizontal mambo. With Claire's hands now bloody as well, it seems like she's at her most deadly and cold.

Frank Has LeAnn Killed

One of the more interesting characters revealed last season was Neve Campbell's LeAnn Harvey. A campaign manager and Claire's personal confidant, we saw how LeAnn and Doug clashed in their respective styles for getting things done. In Season 5, LeAnn had a ton of ups and downs. Her relationship with Aidan Macallan helped the Underwood campaign steal information from potential voters, allowing them to target specific audiences illegally. But after the Underwoods finally won the election, things started to go downhill for LeAnn.

She was quickly forced out of the White House, with Claire and Francis attempting to distance themselves from both LeAnn and Aidan. She was briefly brought back as President Claire's chief of staff, before once again being kicked out. Seeing the writing on the wall, LeAnn attempted to get enough intel to protect herself. But as she drove with her gun in hand, we saw headlights behind her. What resulted was a giant wreck that most likely killed LeAnn, with Francis making the call for her death.

Doug Takes The Blame For Zoe's Death

As an audience member, House of Cards is interesting because you're simultaneously rooting for the Underwoods, while also hoping they finally get caught. Regarding the latter, we saw Zoe's former boss Tom Hammerschmidt continue to investigate the Underwoods, as well as Zoe's sudden death from the Season 2 premiere. And although Tom was attempting to nail down the Underwoods, his gaze soon turned to Doug Stamper.

Doug's apparent guilt came partly from Rachel Posner's ex-girlfriend Lisa, who showed up in DC looking for answers and justice. When Doug briefly stalks Lisa, Tom understands that there is something shady going on. Additionally, footage from the day Zoe died shows someone who appears to be Doug in the same train station. It was actually Frank, but Stamper eventually agreed to taking the blame for he and Claire. In Doug's final moments of the season we see him at home, with an ankle monitor on. His fate is ultimately rather unclear.

Claire Doesn't Pardon Francis

While the Underwoods managed to secure a victory to their Presidential Run, it wasn't without missteps. The couple, mostly Francis, have committed a variety of crimes during the show's run. And although they won the election, Frank decides to resign from the Presidency so he could work from outside the confines of the office, while also presumably coordinating with President Claire. But the only way he could survive the allegations and attacks on his character was by a Presidential Pardon.

But Claire has other plans. Now that she's got the power, Claire makes a Presidential address that seems to hint at her husband's corruption. And the speech comes and goes without her public pardoning of Francis, meaning that Kevin Spacey's signature character may be SOL in Season 6. Frank's lack of communication with his plans to resign was the straw that broke the camel's back, and it seems like Claire is flying solo from now on.

Claire Finally Addresses The Audience

Season 4's finale saw Claire look directly at the camera, hinting that she'll be breaking the fourth wall and speaking to us the way Frank has. Season 5 teased this multiple times, adding a new level of tension and building anticipation. She would first break her silence around midway through the season; Claire tells us she's been aware of our presence all along, but isn't sure of our intentions. And intentions matter to her.

Things would go on with business as usual until the final moments of Season 5. After Francis realizes Claire isn't pardoning him, we see her in the Oval Office. It's here when she looks directly into the camera, and strongly declares "My turn."

This was a shocking and fantastic way for the season to end, and has the potential to change the series as a whole. If Claire is now breaking the fourth wall regularly, does that mean Francis no longer will? Is it quite literally her turn, meaning that Kevin Spacey won't be delivering his asides to the audience? We'll just have to wait and see. Here's to another year of anxiously anticipating a new season. This time with even more cliffhangers.
