Paramount Skydance is currently in the process of finalizing specifics to acquire Warner Bros. Discovery in a deal worth around $110 billion. All the while, various people have been speaking out about the proposed merger, with creatives across Hollywood having shared a plethora of thoughts. Now, a total of 1,000 creatives including the likes of Mark Ruffalo, Kristen Stewart and Adam McKay are voicing their opposition to the deal via an open letter. With that, Paramount has since issued a response to the sentiments.

Various Hollywood Creatives Sign Open Letter Denouncing The Paramount/Warner Bros. Merger

Signees of the initial open letter are actors, directors, producers and media pundits and, aside from those previously named, Don Cheadle, Alyssa Milano, Denis Villeneuve, Joaquin Phoenix and Jane Fonda were among the others who signed. Said letter was published early Monday morning, with Variety reporting about the situation. Via that statement, the stars collectively assert that they’re expressing their “unequivocal opposition” to the supposed merger. As for the reason for their position, they say the following:

Per the letter, the creatives also express concerns about the entertainment industry already being under “severe strain” due to continued media consolidation. It’s also argued that this “has accelerated the disappearance of the mid-budget film, the erosion of independent distribution, the collapse of the international sales market, the elimination of meaningful profit participation, and the weakening of screen credit integrity.” The letter closes with the creatives reiterating their stance and stressing the importance of “competition”:

Up to this point, the notion of competition within the industry has been mentioned as a key factor by those arguing against the merger. The potential economic impacts of the deal (which will seemingly result in various layoffs across different brands) has also been mentioned.

Paramount Releases A Statement In Response To The Letter

A reaction from Paramount was shared later on Monday, with the studio saying it can “hear and understand the concerns that some in our creative community have raised and respect the commitment to protecting and expanding creativity.” The company also emphasizes it knows “firsthand that this is also a moment when the industry has been facing significant disruption—and the need for strong, creative-first and well-capitalized companies that can continue to invest in storytelling has never been greater.” It also says:

Before Paramount landed Warner Bros., the latter was initially set to be acquired by Netflix, a prospect that also worried director James Cameron along with others. (Cameron’s own blistering response to the deal also garnered a reaction from Ruffalo.) The tides changed, however, after Paramount topped the steamer’s $83 billion bid. Netflix co-CEO Ted Sarandos later confirmed that the price is what caused the company to back out, and he also expressed concerns about potential job losses. As for Paramount, its letter concludes with:

Nevertheless, creatives seem to be standing firm in their positions. That includes a prolific TV writer, as they both signed the letter and discussed that decision on their own.

Damon Lindelof Weighs In On The Paramount/WBD Merger

Among the many to lend their voices to the chorus of creatives speaking out against the merger was Damon Lindelof. The creator of Lost, The Leftovers and other shows took to Instagram to express his concerns about Warner Bros. being folded into Paramount. Lindelof also admitted that he was initially hesitant to voice his opposition publicly but decided to for several reasons, including the prospect of crew members losing work:

This message from Lindelof comes as he works on an upcoming DCU show for WBD, Lanterns. It’s also worth noting that some of the other signatories have projects that are in various stages of production at Warner Bros. As Paramount continues to go through the consolidation process, time will tell if other stars speak out.

One of the LGBTQ+ films released this year, and helmed by a female director no less, the project spent nearly eight years making its way to the screen. The film confronts difficult themes head-on, including trauma, sexuality, and bodily autonomy, and the Los Angeles native has described the experience of making it as exhausting, immersive, and deeply rewarding.

That sense of fulfillment may help explain why the Snow White and the Huntsman lead seems more selective about acting roles now, so it will be interesting to keep an eye what's next. The actress-turned-director’s blunt honesty may not surprise longtime fans, but it does clarify the shift. Her career isn’t slowing down so much as it’s narrowing its focus.

It’s about how a woman develops her passions as a swimmer and a writer amidst dealing with the trauma of growing up with an abusive father. Stewart and Imogen Poots (who stars as Lidia) spoke to CinemaBlend about what it was like to shoot a movie with such difficult themes.

The Chronology of Water is a film that Stewart told us that she could see "seared into the insides" of her eyelids, but it was an emotional project for her and cast and crew. Here’s what she told us about what she observed from the actress behind Lydia:

In our interview, Stewart also told us her thoughts on directing versus acting, sharing that it felt like she needed to put a “straightjacket” on to not control the process too much and trust that she had made all the preparations she had been working for. She’s been working on making The Chronology of Water for eight years, and previously talked about the difficulties she’s faced to get it financed.

Ultimately, she got Ridley Scott to be an executive producer on the independent production (among other names) which was shot in Latvia and Malta over just six weeks. It’s now playing in theaters.

Kristen Stewart has shown in the decades since she became a star that she’s a great deal more than simply Bella from Twilight. That said, it’s unlikely that she’ll ever have another movie role that she will be more connected to than that one. While some might try to distance themselves from such a franchise, Stewart is ready to reembrace it, as she says she’ll happily direct a future Twilight remake.

Stewart recently made her feature film directorial debut with her new movie, The Chronology of Water. While walking the red carpet for the film at the Palm Springs International Film Festival Creative Impact Awards, she told EW that the movie she would most like to remake as a director would be the first Twilight movie. Stewart's already enjoying the idea of having a blockbuster budget to play with, saying:

I’m not exactly somebody with a serious dog in this fight. I only saw the first Twilight movie for the first time at a CinemaBlend Watch Party during the pandemic. That said, if I heard the first movie was being remade with Stewart as the director, it would, at the very least, leave me quite curious. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed much of Stewart’s recent work (the Charlie's Angels reboot was great, and I will die on that hill), and I'd love to see what she might bring to Twilight as both somebody with an intimate understanding of the material and a unique perspective on filmmaking.

While there would probably be more than a little backlash to the idea of remaking the Twilight movies from fans of the original franchise, a studio could do worse than to hire Kristen Stewart to direct that movie. It would almost certainly quell some of the fan outrage. I imagine a Stewart-directed Twilight would get all the love and support that she talks about here.

While the idea of remaining Twilight may seem crazy, the last of the movies starring Stewart and Robert Pattinson came out in 2012, just a year after the last Harry Potter film, and that franchise is currently filming its first season of a TV adaptation based on the same story. So the idea of a Twilight remake happening sooner than later is far from crazy.

While Stewart’s comments alone probably won’t spontaneously generate plans for a Twilight remake, it’s all but certain that day will come. When it does, there’s unlikely to be any reason not to consider her as a potential director.

Since Stewart has been a public figure since she was a young actor in Panic Room, moviegoing audiences have watched her grow up before our eyes. So seeing the actor (who recently made her directorial debut) find this sense of peace and love is heartwarming. And I have to assume that fans are going to stay invested in this marriage.

Every so often a Young Adult book to screen adaptation comes out and takes the world by storm. The Twilight movies were definitely in that category, making household names out of Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart. The latter actress recently got behind the camera for her directorial debutThe Chronology of Water, and spoke about why she "felt bad" for the filmmakers who came in to helm the Twilight sequels.

The Twilight movies were a sensation when they were in theaters, starting with the 2008 original film. The first movie was directed by Catherine Hardwicke, and was a pretty faithful adaptation of Stephanie Meyer's novel. In an interview with THR about her movie, K Stew spoke about the freedom Hardwicke had compared to future directors for the franchise, saying:

That does make sense. There are lots of voices involved in any given movie project, but bringing the Twilight books to life on the big screen came with an added degree of pressure. While Catherine Hardwicke was seemingly able to block out the noise and make the movie she wanted to, it seemingly wasn't easy for the filmmakers who followed her to do the same with the sequels.

In the same interview, Stewart spoke about working with directors Chris Weitz and Bill Condon on the later Twilight films, and admitted she "felt bad for them and proud of them." She wondered if those filmmakers even felt like they really directed the movies, offering:

The Twilight movies continue to be re-watched to this day, despite how many voices were seemingly involved in the sequels. Jennifer Lawrence has always loved the tea, and that’s one of the things that fans love about her. She’s famously a Real Housewives fan and has gotten close with the Kardashians because of her love of their shows. Lawrence apparently took her dishy curiosity to a new level when she recently worked with Robert Pattinson, though. That's because the Oscar winner admitted to asking her co-star about Donald Trump tweeting about his 2012 breakup with Kristen Stewart.

The Hunger Games icon recently appeared on The Graham Norton Show, where she chatted about her new film with the former Twilight star, Die My Love. When asked if she and her scene-partner bonded over their shared history of being successful franchise actors, Lawrence revealed they didn’t really talk about it. However, she did confirm she asked him about the now-infamous tweets from the current President of the United States about his then-breakup. As seen in a video shared to the BBC's TikTok, Norton said:

For context, back in the early 2010s, co-stars Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart were in a relationship (which still draws interest today) during production on the Twilight films. This all seemed to go sideways when photos of Stewart kissing Snow White and the Huntsman director Rupert Sanders hit the tabloids.

This was a huge story at the time, and pop culture aficionados were riveted -- and that included Donald Trump, who tweeted not once, not twice, but eleven times about the cheating scandal. Amid his appeal, Trump urged Pattinson to end things with Stewart. The whole situation was garnered considerable buzz, and the optics are now even more interesting, given Trump's current position as Commander and Chief.

All of that aside, I love that Lawrence asked Pattinson about it, and I’d honestly be curious to know how he responded, considering Pattinson is famously very private about his personal life. However, the Silver Linings Playbook star never been afraid of asking personal questions, and even once asked Kim Kardashian while guest hosting Jimmy Kimmel Live! who her craziest ex was. Lawrence as historically always been open herself and seems like a fun, comfortable person to talk to (and maybe even share some gossip with). Of course, whether or not Pattinson was willing to be open about the cheating situation is unknown to the general public.

On the whole, this is a wild piece of pop culture history, especially considering how strangely invested President Trump was. Still, it’s kind of hard NOT to ask about it, so I probably would have done the same thing as Jennifer Lawrence. Kristen Stewart has addressed it over the years, and joked about it in her 2017 SNL monologue, so it would appear it’s not still a sensitive subject.

The Trump/social media situation aside, it seems Lawrence and Pattinson had a blast working together, whether it was Pattinson joining a gals-hang out, or reheating old tea. I can totally see these two having great chemistry, and I can’t wait to see it play out on the big screen.

Look, I know there are a lot of upcoming horror movies to look forward to during the Halloween season, but I have a tradition to uphold, and that’s rewatching the Twilight movies just about every fall season. Sure, there are some insane wigs among other things, but it's all part of the charm for me, especially since I grew up loving the books and movies when I was a teenager. But, in my most recent rewatch, I found myself thinking about the fact that Bella remains human until Breaking Dawn, and how I actually wish she had been turned into a vampire a lot sooner.

I get it, there’s something to be said about the “so the lion fell in love with the lamb” of it all, but as I’ve viewed the series over and over, I’ve come to realize that Bella wants to be with Edward and be a vampire from pretty much the beginning of their relationship, and I wish I had seen a lot more of vampire Bella than we get to see in the franchise. Let’s talk it through further…

Edward Could Have Turned Bella In Twilight

When I was watching Twilight all over again, which is actually coming back to theaters later this month with the rest of the movies, it got to the scene where James lures Bella to the ballet studio, and Edward has to make the decision whether to turn Bella into a vampire or suck the venom out. Edward successfully gets the venom out of Bella, but not without some struggles to feed on her blood completely.

I’ve seen this scene tons of times, but this time I found myself chanting “TURN HER!” because I know how much more danger Bella is going to be in the middle of for the next three movies. I totally respect Edward and Bella for making sure they are compatible before literally signing up for forever together, and Bella wouldn’t have had Renesmee if they didn’t wait until marriage. But, alternatively, I actually think it would have been so much fun if Bella could have joined Team Vampire in the first movie, and taken on all the calamity of the saga with her immortal powers on her side. I also think it might have humanized Edward a bit more if he had no other choice but to turn her vampire (or if James beat him to it), and had to come to terms with blaming himself for it, while also finding himself with the vampiress of his dreams.

Bella Often Feels Like A Passive Character Because She Can't Defend Herself

One of my favorite moments in the Twilight series that literally gives me chills every time I watch the movies is when Bella becomes a vampire at the end of Breaking Dawn - Part 1. Why? Because it’s exactly what Bella has wanted for herself the whole time. She’s this average girl who finds herself in the middle of this fantastical world between vampires and werewolves, and while any other person would run the heck away from it, she’s instantly obsessed and wants to be part of it. I think one reason why it’s become a phenomenon among so many young girls is the fantasy of being suddenly important, eternally desired, and potentially very powerful. So, I think it's totally normal to want to see that happen for her sooner.

Throughout most of Twilight, Bella wants to be able to fight for herself and be more active in her journey with Edward, but he pretty much keeps his control over her by not answering her wishes and keeping her human. (Kristen Stewart herself has made this complaint about Edward and Bella’s relationship, by the way!) I understand Edward’s perspective of not wanting to basically kill the woman he loves and doom her to be a vampire, therefore keeping her innocence intact in a way, but if it was basically decided for him in Twilight to turn her, their relationship also wouldn’t have the uneven (and honestly creepy) power dynamic hanging over it like it does.

I Would Have Loved To See Bella Navigate Being A Vampire Earlier On

In the movies and books, Bella becomes a vampire after she’s graduated high school, and has both married and had a baby with Edward. But, if she had become a vampire at the end of Twilight, then she would have to get through the rest of high school as a vampire. I think this honestly would have been really entertaining, and a lot higher stakes to watch as a viewer. Maybe, Jacob, his pack and other vampires would catch wind of a new vampire being turned, and it would create some new conflicts that wouldn’t have existed before (but would not involve Bella basically trying to kill herself because Edward left her or Jacob straight up falling in love with her newborn baby, etc).

Rather than the whole series being about Edward shielding Bella from the dangers of the vampire world, we’d get to see her grow into her new identity as a vampire, both in secret and among humans.

Edward And Bella Are A Lot Less Cringe Of A Couple When They Are Both Vampires

Going back to the cringey-ness of Edward and Bella’s relationship, I’ve always felt that the pair were the best as a couple after they became vampires together. You can really see Edward relax because he’s not thinking about drinking her blood 24/7, and there’s something a lot more romantic about these two choosing each other, when they can live any life they please eternally. Nowadays, it works for me much better than Edward trying to convince Bella to give up on him and go human while at the same time telling her he can't live without her. Mixed messages, my dude!

After seeing the movies so many times over the years, I’d absolutely love to see this version of the story play out. As I think about it more, it would actually fix some of the issues I’ve had about the series as I’ve gotten older.. But hey, the Twilight movies are some of the best vampire movies still, and one of the reasons why it works is because it is exactly how it is. Even so, I had to explore my thoughts about how it might have been different if Bella had become a vampire sooner.

Along with experiencing all the new 2025 movie releases coming to theaters this year, it’s a blast to relive old favorites with an audience on the big screen. And the latest franchise to get this treatment is officially set to be the Twilight films. As a longtime fan, I want to talk about the four major scenes I'm thrilled to see in theaters again.

The ‘Say It Out Loud’ Scene In Twilight

Now that I think about it, I’m not sure I actually saw Twilight for the first time in theaters – I think it was on DVD, but I definitely want to buy a ticket on Fathom Entertainment for a Twilight showing especially to see the first time Bella figures out Edward Cullen is a vampire. I know people love to make fun of this series of vampire movies, but I’m personally never getting over the stylistic and totally punk rock direction Catherine Hardwicke gave to the first film, including its iconic blue filter. Twilight is playing in theaters on October 29.

Bella’s Italian Mad Dash In New Moon

Another big moment I’m dying to see again is the epic moment in New Moon when Bella races off to Italy with Alice Cullen in order to save Edward from exposing himself as a vampire to the public by taking his shirt off and getting all sparkly in the sunlight. I truly think the sequence is thrillingly shot, and it makes for a really emotional moment between Edward and Bella. (No wonder: Robert Pattinson is one of our best actors working today!) New Moon is playing in theaters on October 30.

Edward & Bella's Wedding In Breaking Dawn Part 1

Oddly enough, the movie I didn’t pick a scene from, Eclipse, is the Twilight movie playing on the day of Halloween, October 31, but while I don’t have a special scene to highlight, I absolutely want to go back to theaters to catch the third one film in the franchise as well. However: not as much as I want to see Edward and Bella’s wedding scene in Breaking Dawn Part 1. In a series with a lot of drama, this is the most romantic scene in the franchise, and it’d be so nostalgic to me to relive it with an audience. Breaking Dawn Part 1 will be in theaters on November 1.

The Twist Ending In Breaking Dawn Part 2

Finally, one more big scene I'm anticipating seeing in theaters from Twilight is the big ending twist in Breaking Dawn Part 2 that had book fans like me completely shocked and then amazed. The final movie in the series (which is admittedly my least favorite of the series) really threw me for a loop when it chose to show Alice’s visions and make us believe all of the death and chaos was really happening. The last Twilight movie is set to end the franchise’s theatrical takeover on November 2.

Clearly there’s a lot here I want to see; the question is which I will pick to see, or if I’ll just splurge on a week of theatrical showings? Since the Twilight movies aren’t on Netflix, it feels like a really fun event to go to during spooky season, especially as we wait to hear more about the Twilight animated series on the way.

Love Me involves a weather buoy and a satellite existing in a space and time void of humans. The weather buoy learns about humanity through social media, and this inspires the satellite to do the same. At its heart, it’s about two objects searching for companionship. They are also trying to learn to live and love. Love Me has an interesting concept but imperfect execution. Kristen Stewart and Steven Yeun are the only actors in Love Me.

They start the film as the voice for these objects, but eventually appear. Love Me sparks some engaging conversations. However, the film’s main message is what I think deserves the most exploration. Let's talk about it.

I Find It Interesting How Love Me Highlights Social Media’s Influence On Love And Development

The buoy learns about love and life from watching an influencer named Deja (Kristen Stewart) and her husband, Liam (Steven Yeun). It then begins to imitate the ways Deja acts and speaks. This allows it to evolve into an animated version that looks like Deja. She drags the satellite into the fantasy and has it become the Liam to her Deja. They also pick the names Me and Iam.

The buoy’s obsession with social media may connect with many because it’s easy to become addicted to an idolized version of someone. Social media invites people into someone’s life, but only the dreamy parts. Me wants to become Deja because she seems to have the perfect life. It’s representative of how people, especially at a developing age, take social media too seriously. They see this performative behavior as truth.

Most adults realize that social media is not an accurate portrayal of daily life. However, some young people idolize the people they see on it. They want their lives. Me is that child who sees social media and takes it too much at face value. There are many great movies about social media, so Love Me adds to the conversation. It doesn’t offer a revolutionary perspective but more so a reminder of how social media can be a valuable and also a harmful tool on how it sets standards.

I Appreciate Its Varying Uses Of Social Media To Mimic The Overexposure To It

Love Me starts off as a sci-fi film with objects orbiting space. It’s not one of the best sci-fi films, especially because it evolves more into a domestic drama, one with a focus on the human connection, but it's an entertaining addition to this genre. Love Me grows from sci-fi to more of an animated film when they become avatar versions that are similar to Deja and Liam. The film uses different media to show the evolution of Me and Iam.

Their final form looks like Deja and Liam. I think this is a cool way to visually display the growth of an object or person. Iam and Me only evolve to more complex versions with more exposure to more complicated feelings and ideas. They start by watching influencer videos, then grow to meme culture, and then create personal content.

Iam and Me eventually abandon the digital world and embrace their cores and true selves. It’s not until they stop trying to be what they see online do they finally become the real version of themselves. They find their identities. This is especially important for Me because she’s the one most influenced by the internet, social media, and the digital world. Iam questions it from the start, but follows it to make Me happy. Only when Me and Iam can cut ties with the fake, plasticity of the digital landscape can they become authentic and flawed. They also become a visual representation of this because their most evolved versions look the most human.

The Film Showcases How To Build Connections, But I Think It’s Most Critical Of That Part

Love Me isn’t exactly a romance movie (and definitely not a great rom-com), but more a movie about how we learn to love, especially with the absence of experience. Me learns everything from Deja and Liam’s online relationship. However, Iam doesn’t understand how this represents love. He’s a different creature, so he doesn’t process information the same way as Me. He starts to learn through experience and tries to actually feel things, not imitate feelings. He becomes a fully formed human. It takes Me a bit longer to develop because of her social media obsession, especially how it portrays love.

Love Me doesn’t show social media as a true way to form connections. It becomes a crutch. Me is so obsessed with making things look a certain way that she loses one of the key tools of humans: experience and growth. Love Me seems to argue that true human emotions and love cannot be manufactured. You can present life a certain way, but it needs experience to actually be meaningful.

Human connection can be learned, at least in the superficial sense, through studying others’ behavior. However, it cannot be fabricated. It can only be experienced. Love Me seems to judge those who trust social media too much. It wants people to go out, live and love, not just watch it happen to others.

Love Me Isn’t Necessarily An Anti-Social Media Film

Love Me doesn’t seem to support fully learning through social media. However, it doesn’t treat it as a complete waste of time. Me and Iam learn the basic human experience with social media and the internet. It gives them the basic skills and tools of humanity. However, they must then take them to the next level. I think the movie sees social media and the internet as a form of entertainment and learning, but they should not act as the only method of these things. Living and loving must be the main tools to form connections.

I think Love Me is a movie that respects and enjoys social media but knows how it can influence someone. It must be used with care and consideration. Someone must have the mental and emotional capability to know it shouldn’t be treated as a guide to life. Social media can only offer so much, but people are so easily influenced, especially in how they compare themselves to others. Social media can be a hindrance or an asset depending on how it's used and valued.

I Think Love Me’s Message Can Feel Basic But Necessary

Love Me may be a movie that comes off pretentious, but it has a quite basic surface-level message. I think most people realize that social media isn’t an accurate depiction of life and love. It’s a message that so many movies have tackled. Therefore, it doesn’t feel like this film is offering anything new to the conversation. I think that’s fine, because this choice doesn’t invalidate the message.

It’s just a new way to showcase the classic message of not trying to be anything other than yourself. You are enough. It’s definitely a bit of a rudimentary message, but still impactful. Love Me is one of the best movies to watch on Paramount Plus right now, and one that helped Kristen Stewart reflect on her past acting experience.

Considering Robert Pattinson’s sci-fi rom-com Mickey 17 debuted during the 2025’s movie schedule, it makes strange cinematic sense that his Twilight co-lead Kristen Stewart also fronted an amusing new romance that’s cloaked in science fiction. The latter film, Love Me, is one of those projects where, if you weren’t paying strict attention to film festival premieres, you might not realize it even exists. Which is maddening, since this is such a wildly unique, hilarious and heartbreaking movie.

The directorial debut for Sam and Andy Zuchero, Love Me earned mild fanfare upon its festival debut, followed by an undersold January theatrical release. Five months later, it quietly hit the streaming cycle, and is currently available to watch with a Paramount+ subscription, which is precisely what sparked my own interest. Now, to help combat the lack of buzz that preceded its release, I gotta blab about what makes this movie so undeniably special.

Love Me Is Literally Unlike Any Other Movie Romance

Given how similiar a wide swath of romance-driven movies are, I'm always intrigued by stories that buck such trends. Love Me goes above and beyond in that sense by setting its story hundreds of years in the future, after an extinction event has eradicated humanity, and by focusing on a waterbound weather buoy who makes a surprisingly meaningful connection.

In its quest to reverse its lonely existence, the buoy makes contact with an orbiting satellite, and taps into the history of the Internet and YouTube in the effort to become more human-esque and make a legitimate emotional connection. Granted, it's an effort that's somewhat hindered by machine-logic and a lack of human nuance, perhaps evidenced best by the buoy naming itself Me, while giving the satellite the moniker Iam.

Their story is initially one of highly amusing fumbles and foibles as both become accustomed to communicating non-essential information and learning to exhibit emotional responses. It's like a low-key mash-up of WALL-E and Her which then becomes a far more thoughtful and complicated look at how elements such as monotony, secrets, and social media can each have drastically negative effects on relationships.

Stewart And Yeun Nail The Comedy, The Drama And The Existential Dread

While scouring YouTube's seemingly endless number of uploads, Me stumbles upon the page for Deja (Kirsten Stewart in human form) and Liam (human Steven Yeun), a couple who documented the bulk of their lives on social media. Me uses the many hours of footage to inform her own approach to wooing Iam in a digital reality akin to life-simulation games like The Sims.

Stewart and Yeun are excellent in all facets of their roles, both as the authentic and long-gone Deja and Liam, and also as the mo-capped iterations of the characters. (There's a visual upgrade that happens late in the film that the actors also sell perfectly.) From misunderstanding the English language to misunderstanding what genuine laughter is supposed to sound like, Me and Iam are downright adorable right up until they point when things go sideways. (Fun fact: Kristen Stewart talked to us about hating fake laughter in movies, and why she dreads it as an actress.)

To be sure, the movie does back away from its more straightforwardly comedic moments in the third act once Me and Iam hit a point of conflict, but that doesn't stop Love Me from being smart, poignant and affecting right through to the end credits.

The Sci-Fi Visuals Are Just As Impressive As Everything Else

Though the story pulling at viewers' heartstrings is very much about humanity and human connections, it's also a feast for the eyes as the story progresses. Sam and Andy Zuchero successfully depict the loneliness of a ravaged planet early on as Me is learning how to communicate, and it's quite astonishing just how much time passes by from beginning to end, with a lot of that universal evolution happening in time-lapse.

Love Me nails both the macro and the micro in that way, from showing off harrowing disasters in the expanses of outer space to showing off Me and Iam's evolution of CGI domesticity from blobby Nick Jr.-esque figures to finessed Pixar-lite imagery. Obviously a ton of artists worked on the movie, but it shows off the filmmakers' imagination that so many different kinds of visual approaches were utilized to make the world surrounding the romance feel authentic.

So Why Isn't Love Me More Beloved And Talked About By Now?

To be sure, I can 100% understand why a movie featuring two highly advanced tech devices' meet cute isn't going to set the world on fire in the way a James Bond or Avengers movie might. I wouldn't ever really expect Love Me to become a $200 million-earner at the box office, or to inspire a slew of dedicated videos on YouTube and social. It's just not that kind of of a spectacle.

However, I'd absolutely expect for this kind of mindful and visually stunning movie to at least be heavily embraced by critics and genre crowds, yet that outcome doesn't seem to have happened either. Here's where the movie currently sits with Rottten Tomatoes' ranks:

• 47% Rotten (based on 88 reviews)
• 62% Audience Popcornmeter (based on 55 ratings)

Even with the understanding that RT is far from a perfect metric in any sense, I'm still bamboozled by the idea that so many critics would offer up lukewarm-to-negative opinions about a movie that I had so few issues with. And that the average score from viewers themselves, while based on limited input, isn't that much higher. It makes me wonder if we all watched the same movie.

If there's a silver lining to find here, it's perhaps that the total lack of chatter about Love Me allowed me to go into viewing it without any preconceived notions about its quality or lack there of. Had I known a lot more about it, I might not have been easily swayed into watching, and I would have missed one of the more thought-provoking movie-viewing experiences of this year or any other. I'm fine if it never enters the annals of best rom-coms of all time, but it should be in the running for best sci-fi rom-coms of all time.

With Dakota Johnson's romantic comedy Materialists currently garnering widespread acclaim from critics and audiences alike, I can only hope that viewers are drawn to seek out other recent films of that ilk, and that Love Me will spark a new wave of appreciation, hopefully long before humanity actually gets wiped out.

The movie is an adaptation of the 2011 memoir of the same name by bisexual writer Lidia Yuknavitch, and Stewart has been talking about making it for years. As the film receives rave reviews, I wouldn’t have expected for Stewart to liken her movie to an orgasm, but here we are.

The Chronology of Water premiered at the glitzy Cannes Film Festival, where Kristen Stewart walked the red carpet in a gorgeous pink getup. The multi hyphenate seems quite proud of her film but, like me, some people may initially be surprised how she described it. When she spoke to Vulture about the making of the movie, here’s exactly what she said:

Imogen Poots plays Yuknavitch, who ultimately loses her scholarship over her own addiction with drugs and alcohol and moves to Oregon to start over. Her addiction persists while she's in the Pacific Northwest. At the same time though, Yuknavtich also explores her bisexuality, and S&M also blooms there before she eventually settles down when she meets her husband.

Kristen Stewart revealed she'd been scripting the film over eight years but, along the way, she lost financing (“ten times”), “department heads,” and more. Over time, Stewart would constantly go back to the script and refine it as she had personal experiences that made her look at it differently.

It's incredibly cool that Stewart has finally directed a movie of her own, which comes only a few weeks after her wedding. Stewart's orgasm comparison is sure to stick with me and, while it may seem unexpected, it's a logical way to describe her movie. The Chronology of Water has yet to be added to the 2025 movie calendar and, as of this writing, a distributor has yet to pick it up.

Stewart's The Chronology of Water is an upcoming book-to-screen adaptation based on Lidia Yuknavitch's 2011 memoir of the same name. It’s about a young woman who finds her voice through swimming and ultimately finding a path through teaching and motherhood. Stewart attended the premiere at the Cannes Film Festival this year, as the film was presented in the “Un Certain Regard” section.

The former child actress has seemingly proven her point about capable filmmakers. Despite having limited technical training, she seems to have succeeded in helming a strong film. The movie is already receiving fantastic reviews out of the festival and currently holds a 92% critics store on Rotten Tomatoes. Stewart has a history of working with auteurs, and I wouldn't be surprised if she picked up a pointer or two due to those experiences. Also, it seems like this is just the beginning for Stewart, as she's already looking forward to her next directing endeavor.

Traditionally, I never would have thought you could wear a skirt and shorts without the shorts being hidden from view or too clunky under the skirt. Not to mention, the ends of her blonde hair dyed pink and put up in a messy bun are a great touch to the actress’s look.

The sheer look has been a big red carpet trend for years now. Florence Pugh helped popularize that style in 2023 when she rocked a pink sheer Valentino dress that highlighted the “free the nipple” fashion movement. Every time a new Elizabeth Olsen project is announced, it’s pretty much required at this point to wonder if or how that new project might impede any possibilities of the actress once again portraying the Scarlet Witch in the MCU post-Doctor Strange sequel. I’m highly invested in her creepy-sounding FX pilot with Cristin Milioti, but now she’s joined an upcoming horror that may soon become one of my most anticipated upcoming movies.

Elizabeth Olsen Is Joining A Fellow MCU Vet And A Twilight Megastar

For her newest big-screen commitment, Elizabeth Olsen has joined the growing cast of Flesh of the Gods, will be the biggest mindbending feature yet for director Panos Cosmatos (Mandy, Beyond the Black Rainbow). She's set to co-star with Marvel's Moon Knight lead Oscar Isaac and teen icon-turned-filmmaker Kristen Stewart. If threse three ended up being the only cast members in the entire movie, it'd still be a win.

She's Going From Playing A Superhero Witch To Playing An '80s Vampire (Presumably)

Get ready for a trip back to Los Angeles in the 1980s, which is where and when Flesh of the Gods will be set. Oscar Isaac's Raoul and Kristen Stewart's Alex are a married couple living it up in and around their luxury skyscraper condo, especially when it comes to the nightlife.

Their lives and nightly habits are changed after they meet Olsen's alluring and perplexing Nameless, who heads up a "hard partying cabal," according to Deadline. After which, Alex and Raoul find themselves thrust into party scene full of hedonists, violence and all the thrills one can handle.

Though the description of the film refers to it as a "vampire thriller," the logline synopsis apparently doesn't get too straightforward on that front. Sure, it's hard to imagine that Nameless and her squad are anything but bloodsuckers, but Panos Cosmatos might have some slightly more esoteric ideas than just a straight-up fang-banging massacre.

An Extra Reason To Be Excited: Se7en's Screenwriter Wrote It

So this is going to be just as subjective as everything else, but the fact that Andrew Kevin Walker penned the script for Flesh of the Gods is reason alone to get me into a theater, with the A+ trio of actors sprinkles on top. Se7en is one of my two favorite movies of all time, and the tight script has as much to do with that as David Fincher and that movie's A+ stars.

Even if you don't adore the 1995 classic, or agree with the argument that it's among the best horror movies of all time, Walker also penned equally slick scripts for not-as-well-directed movies like Brainscan, Hideaway and 8mm, while also writing Sleepy Hollow and Fincher's 2023 release The Killer among others. Beyond Tim Burton, Cosmatos might be the most visually macabre director to bring one of Walker's scripts to the screen, and I can't wait.

With Avengers: Doomsday currently in production without any hardcore concrete plans to bring Elizabeth Olsen's Wanda Maximoff back, I'm still holding out hopes that she'll be a big part of Paul Bettany's return to the MCU for the Vision TV show, but until we know more, I'll be geeking out over the thought of her playing a vampire opposite Bella Swan herself.

I Found Out The Couple Chose An Iconic Venue For The LGBTQ+ Community, And It Only Makes The Ceremony Sweeter

So where did Dylan Meyer and Kristen Stewart get married? They actually went for a super local option for themselves by choosing a Mexican restaurant called Casita del Campo, located in the Silverlake neighborhood in Los Angeles. The restaurant, which has been a fixture of LA since 1961, is not explicitly mentioned as an LGBTQ+ establishment, but Rudy del Campo opened the establishment in hopes that his queer (mostly closeted) friends in the Hollywood industry might find it to be a safe space.

Per Open Table, the founder installed curtains at bar booths in the '70s to cater to LGBTQ+ patrons, which even included Rock Hudson. It’s also been a “beloved drag destination” since the 1990s. It’s currently run by Rudy’s son, Robert del Campo, who said he wants to “take care of this community” associated with the restaurant for years to come.

How amazing is it that the couple put their wedding money into a business that actively supports LGBTQ+ people? Congratulations to them! Next, we expect to see more from Kristen Stewart when her directorial debut becomes one of the 2025 movies going to Cannes this month.

However, as iconic as that romance arguably is, I’d say the actress’s real-life love story with Dylan Meyer has been even sweeter to watch. The couple tied the knot last week, five years after Meyer proposed, and they shared the heartwarming pics from their big day along with the most adorable caption from Stewart’s wife.

The brides kept things casual for their nuptials, celebrating with friends and family at the Casita Del Campo Mexican restaurant in Los Angeles on April 20. Kristen Stewart and Dylan Meyer gave fans a peek inside the intimate affair when Meyer shared a couple of images on Instagram of the couple looking oh-so-in-love. Check it out:

It was as if they were the only two people in the world, as Dylan Meyer wrapped her arms around Kristen Stewart’s neck, and the Love Lies Bleeding star couldn’t keep her hands off her wife.

While Meyer rocked a sheer dress and high ponytail accessorized with a black ribbon, Stewart stayed true to a promise she made years ago to get married in a comfy white tee.

She didn’t go quite as silly as she’d originally planned — the actress who has challenged the norms of women’s fashion for years said at one point that a tuxedo T-shirt and jeans would work in place of the traditional white dress she wore in Twilight — ultimately opting for a matching skirt and jacket set. They looked gorgeous and in love, and as if we weren’t already swooning, Dylan Meyer included the caption:

When it comes to celebrity weddings, we’ve seen everything from quickie Vegas weddings to extravagant international affairs (sometimes both, if you’re Kourtney Kardashian and Travis Barker). For Kristen Stewart and Dylan Meyer, the vibes were really chill, as the couple of six years exchanged vows at a Mexican restaurant in Los Angeles on Sunday, April 20. The event was so casual, in fact, that the actress fulfilled a promise to herself and got married in an old, white T-shirt.

Kristen Stewart knew she wanted to marry Dylan Meyer pretty quickly when they started dating in 2019, and while some of the details of her and Meyer’s wedding didn’t come to fruition — Guy Fieri did not officiate the nuptials — her wardrobe was pretty in line with what she always said she wanted. Back in 2021 after Meyer proposed to Stewart, the Twilight actress expressed to Howard Stern what she envisioned for her big day, saying:

Kristen Stewart didn’t go through with the full tuxedo tee, as funny as that would have been, but she and her new wife kept it casual at the intimate affair held at Casita Del Campo, per Page Six. Stewart donned a matching skirt set with the non-negotiable white T-shirt underneath and black shoes.

Dylan Meyer, meanwhile, wore a sheer dress with black shoes, sporting a high ponytail with a black ribbon tied in it.

It was no surprise that the Love Lies Bleeding star would opt for something less traditional than a white wedding dress. Kristen Stewart has challenged the norms for women’s fashion through her red carpet looks, and she admits that if fashion wasn’t “part of the job,” she wouldn’t boast such exciting ensembles.

Besides that, she already got to wear a traditional wedding dress in Twilight, and the Mexican restaurant nuptials were way more suited to her tastes anyway. Back in 2019, Kristen Stewart already knew she was going to marry Dylan Meyer someday, and while she said she didn’t feel beholden to societal norms, having a wedding meant something deeper. She said:

In one of the best vampire movies, The Twilight Saga, some argue that Bella is one of the worst main characters of their own movie. Sure, she has flaws in her dependency on vampire Edward Cullen and is willing to make herself immortal for him. But before the Twilight TV show premieres, I think it’s time to hear me out about one of Kristen Stewart’s best characters and give the Forks resident more credit where credit is due.

Bella Gets A Lot Of Flack For Her Intense Relationship With Edward, But I Admire Her For Following Her Heart

It’s true that Bella gets a lot of flack for her strong dependency on Edward. Back in 2011, psychologist Wind Goodfriend Ph.D. argued in Psychology Today that Bella’s low self-esteem and attraction to forbidden men makes her a victim of relationship violence, with Edward being the “abuser.” However, the author of the book series, Stephenie Meyer, defended criticism about Bella not being a good role model since the main character is sure of what she wants and isn’t afraid to go after it.

Bella, indeed, deserves credit for following her heart. As soon as the new student noticed strange things about her classmate, Edward Cullen, like his abnormal physical strength and changing eye colors, she wasn’t afraid to investigate. Once she found out he was a vampire who had issues controlling his thirst for her blood, that didn’t stop her from pursuing a relationship with him, even if he pushed her away for the good of her safety. When Edward broke up with Bella in New Moon, she still traveled to Italy to stop him from sacrificing himself to the Volturi. She did what felt right for her, no matter what anyone said.

Bella May Not Be A Typical Beauty Queen In High School, But That Doesn't Stop Swooning Guys

As soon as Bella moved to Forks in the first Twilight movie, guys were all over her. Or as her new friend, Jessica, told her, “you’re like a shiny new toy.” She was no Queen Bee, though, as she wore more casual, laid-back clothes compared to anything with cleavage and didn’t wear any makeup. She actually wanted as little attention as possible with no interest in achieving popularity at a new school.

However, the guys at Forks High School weren't turned off by Bella’s natural beauty or her awkward persona. Clearly, being her natural self was enough to eventually bring on a huge love triangle that involved Edward and Jacob. There were never moments when she tried to be someone else to come off as likable. Even in terms of getting Edward to like her when they first met, she never tried to change her style to impress him. Sounds like role model material to me to never change yourself to get your love interest to love you.

Bella May Be Giving Up Mortality To Be With Edward, But It's To Help Protect Him

At the end of the first movie, Bella told Edward she wanted to be a vampire so that she could be with him forever. Then during her 18th birthday in New Moon, she continued to persuade him to change her so that she could protect him from the Volturi if it came down to it.

In Eclipse, Bella didn’t want to stand by and let everyone risk their lives to protect her from Victoria. By being a vampire herself, she’d no longer have to depend on Edward to save her from enemies stronger than her. Bella came to the realization that her decision to be a vampire wasn't even just about being with Edward forever. It was because she truly believed she belonged in his world.

Bella Engages In Reckless Behavior, But She's Willing To Sacrifice For The Ones She Loves

Throughout the Twilight film series, Bella got herself into a lot of trouble that audiences would define as reckless. In the first movie, she abandoned Alice and Jasper to go to a ballet studio where James, a Tracker, said he’d be. New Moon had her leave Charlie behind to go to Italy for Edward. Eclipse, saw her stay with Edward in the same location where Victoria and the newborn vampires fought against the Cullens and the werewolves. And, we can’t leave out Breaking Dawn when Bella chose to carry her half-vampire baby to term, even if it took away her own life.

What’s important to keep in mind about Bella’s extreme behavior is that it was all in the name of love. She took a risk going to the ballet studio to meet with James because he told her that he was holding her mom there. Her reasoning for dropping everything to go to Italy was to stop Edward from provoking the Volturi, who would have killed him. She also stayed with the Cullens and the werewolves so she wouldn’t leave them defenseless if they needed her.

Not to mention, Bella went through with her pregnancy so that Edward would have a part of her and saw her baby as a “miracle” when she thought she couldn’t have kids with a vampire. She was willing to commit a mother’s sacrifice to ensure her daughter would live, even if she couldn’t. Even when Alice and Jasper arranged for Renesmee and Jacob to leave together during the Volturi battle, Bella accepted it to ensure her daughter’s protection.

Bella Disobeys Her Father's Wishes, But She Needs To Create Her Own Path

Despite having a deep relationship with Edward, Bella still did typical teenage girl things like disobeying her father’s wishes. Charlie felt like whenever Bella was around Edward, their relationship kept bringing more trouble into her life. When Edward left Bella, he witnessed the overwhelming pain that he had put his daughter through. If anything, Charlie would have been Team Jacob since he’s known him and his father for a long time. I'm basing that on Charlie's advice to her: "You have to learn to love what’s good for you.”

While Charlie had good intentions throughout the Twilight Saga in wanting to protect his daughter, Bella felt what was good for her was Edward. There are many reasons why Bella was right to choose Edward, such as his always looking out for her and his deep loyalty to her. He’d go to the ends of the earth to make sure she was safe. She heard her father’s wishes for her to get distance from Edward, but she had to create her own path and follow her heart. This led to her decisions to get married, have a baby, and become a vampire. By the end of the saga, it didn’t appear at all that Bella regretted any of her choices.

There’s no denying that Bella Swan’s got her flaws in terms of her bond hold with Edward and getting herself in danger to keep staying with him. But, it’s important to remember that no character is perfect, and she deserves more credit than she’s given.

The Twilight protagonist remained true to herself as well as her wants and needs throughout her journey. If all of her extreme actions were in the name of love, we can’t fault a girl for that. I was a pretty big Twihard, even if it makes me cringe to think about my vampire phase, and I can admit that these movies and books were quite a whirlwind of a phenomenon. I remember Team Jacob and Team Edward was the make-or-break controversy at the lunch table in ’09. So, it’s always nice when we get to check back in with the Twilight cast and learn more about what happened behind the scenes. Recently, Vampire dad Peter Facinelli and clairvoyant queen Ashley Greene shared some shenanigans that involved a Kristen Stewart replica that got them in trouble, and this story is honestly hilarious.

At a panel during MegaCon Orlando (via People), Twilight alumni Ashley Greene and Peter Facinelli, known for their roles as Alice and Carlisle Cullen, were telling stories with their fellow co-stars about some of the shenanigans that took place on set. Among the stories told, Greene shared that one of her favorite memories was when the producers tried to take away phones, saying:

This was in reference to the filming of New Moon, the second installment of the movie franchise. So it only took two movies for someone to get phones banned. Luckily, Facinelli fessed up, explaining the wild situation that led to this happening.

Shortly after Greene mentioned the phone ban, she and Facinelli talked about the life-sized replica of Kirsten Stewart.

After they found that replica, they decided they had to take selfies with it, as the actor explained:

Not to point fingers, but it seems like Facinelli and Greene’s shenanigans could have led to the phone ban. The proof is in the pudding, but that’s just my opinion based on this hilarious anecdote.

However, the hijinks don't stop here. Facinelli also recalled a funny interaction between him and Robert Pattinson during their neck biting scene from the first movie. So, while the films might be dramatic and action-packed, it sounds like making them was a blast.

Twilight has been coming back onto people’s radar recently, especially since the Midnight Sun adaptation was announced. And while I myself am not still a die-hard Twihard, I can admit that this is really big. Also, many fans are still reeling from the big ending twist we were left with and comparing the movies to the books. Plus, there's even Twilight Legos now, so it's clear that there's very much an apitite for these movies, the cast and funny stories like this.

If you want to take a trip down memory lane or binge in wait for Midnight Sun, the Twilight movies are streamable on Peacock. Whether you like it or not, Twilight meant a lot to a lot of people, and it’s good to see the cast come together every so often and share what life was like for them when the cameras weren’t rolling.

Now, I do kind of want to see those photos with the Stewart mannequin...If it got phones banned, it has to be good.

Daniel Day-Lewis (Lincoln)

As he would with any other role, Daniel Day-Lewis went to great lengths to become the sixteenth President of the United States for his Oscar-winning performance in Steven Spielberg's 2012 biopic, Lincoln. He even made sure to match Honest Abe's voice, which was high-pitched and reedy (according to the Library of Congress), as opposed to the low bellow many previous portrayals mistakenly attempted.

Mel Blanc (Looney Tunes)

To this day, it is almost shocking to learn that most of the original Looney Tunes characters were brought to life by just one actor. Until he passed away in 1989, Mel Blanc provided the diverse voices of Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Elmer Fudd, and plenty more favorites under the Warner Bros. animation umbrella.

Austin Butler (Elvis)

The key to portraying Elvis Presley is nailing his distinct Southern drawl, which Austin Butler went to great lengths to perfect when he was cast as the influential musician in Baz Luhrmann's 2022 biopic. The work he put into the voice seemed to have a lasting effect on the actor, whom audiences could not help but notice continued to speak in the same accent during public appearances.

Seth MacFarlane (Various)

In addition to being one of the creative forces behind two of TV's longest-running hit animated shows for grown-ups, Seth MacFarlane is also responsible for bringing many of their most important characters to life. He voices Peter, Stewie, and Quagmire on Family Guy and plays Stan and Roger on American Dad – all of whom require him to be completely unrecognizable, while Family Guy's Brian is no different from his real voice.

Jim Carrey (How The Grinch Stole Christmas)

It is still sometimes hard to believe that it is Jim Carrey playing the title role in Ron Howard's live-action adaptation of Dr. Seuss' How the Grinch Stole Christmas from 2000. Not only is he covered head-to-toe with green skin and matching fur in the Christmas movie classic but the comedic mastermind disguises his voice with an accent that earned comparisons to Sean Connery, as he told Entertainment Weekly.

Eddie Murphy (Coming To America)

Eddie Murphy started a career staple of playing multiple roles in the same movie with 1988's Coming to America. He dons an African accent to play Prince Akeem and brings his voice to higher octaves as Randy Watson and Clarence, but he undergoes the most intensive alteration of both his appearance and voice when playing elderly barber shop patron, Saul.

Heath Ledger (The Dark Knight)

The Dark Knight is a superhero movie that won Oscars for Sound Editing and for Heath Ledger's astonishing, transformative performance as The Joker. No matter how many times you watch Christopher Nolan's acclaimed 2008 sequel to Batman Begins, it is always shocking to hear that wheezy, menacing voice coming from the late Australian actor.

Dan Castellaneta (The Simpsons)

If you have ever seen any of comedian Dan Castellaneta's live-action acting credits, it might shock you to learn that his most famous role is Homer Simpson. However, the Simpsons cast member provides the voice of plenty more characters than the infantile, Duff-swilling family man, including Grampa Simpson, Krusty the Clown, and Groundskeeper Willie.

Bill Skarsgård (Nosferatu)

Bill Skarsgård is no stranger to dramatically altering his appearance and his voice for the sake of scaring the living daylights out of audiences, having played Pennywise in back-to-back creepy clown movies, It and It Chapter Two. However, his transformation into Count Orlok for Robert Eggers' 2024 reimagining of Nosferatu was an even more challenging process, requiring a month-and-a-half of vocal training to perfect the vampire's dread-inducing growl.

Joaquin Phoenix (Walk The Line)

Joaquin Phoenix did all of his own singing when portraying Johnny Cash in James Mangold's acclaimed music biopic, 2005's Walk the Line. While appearing on Late Night with Conan O'Brien that year, the future Oscar winner told the late night talk show host that he worked with a dialect coach to replicate the Man in Black's deep baritone voice as authentically as possible.

Amanda Seyfried (The Dropout)

For her Emmy-winning performance on the Hulu original true crime miniseries, The Dropout, Amanda Seyfried had the challenge of imitating the infamous low voice of Elizabeth Holmes, the founder and CEO of the fraudulent blood-testing company Theranos.

Hugh Jackman (X-Men)

Many have been shocked to learn that Hugh Jackman is an Australian as his most famous role is the Canadian-native, Adamantium-clawed mutant, Wolverine. Of course, the Tony winner does more than just drop his natural accent for the X-Men movies but also incorporates a deep, nigh-animalistic growl.

Stephanie Beatriz (Brooklyn Nine-Nine)

When Stephanie Beatriz debuted in the Brooklyn Nine-Nine cast, she used her natural, higher-tone voice to play Det. Rosa Diaz. However, over time, the character's voice became progressively deeper until the actor settled on a low, more gruff tone that better suited the cop's hard-edged exterior.

Christian Bale (The Dark Knight Trilogy)

To play the lead in Christopher Nolan's beloved live-action Batman movies, Christian Bale pulled double-duty on changing his voice. In addition to dropping his Welsh accent when appearing as Bruce Wayne, he adopted a gravelly, identity-concealing growl when patrolling Gotham as the Dark Knight.

Prolific voice actor Phil LaMarr, in addition to his transformative characters as a MADtv cast member, has made himself unrecognizable for countless iconic animated roles, such as John "Green Lantern" Stewart on Justice League or the title hero of Samurai Jack. However, no blip on his resume is nearly as surprising as the recurring role of foreign exchange student Bolbi Stroganofsky on Nickelodeon's The Adventures of Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius.

Mark Hamill (Batman: The Animated Series)

Megan Mullally absolutely earned her two Emmy Award wins for her committed performance as Karen Walker on the classic TV sitcom, Will & Grace. The key to the spoiled socialite's scene-stealing presence was her ear-piercing voice, which truly sounds nothing like the actor in real life.

Cuban-born actor Ana de Armas is known for having a strong accent, which she concealed in order to portray Marilyn Monroe in Blonde. Billy West could be called the Mel Blanc of his generation as he can claim to have played about as many memorable animated characters as the iconic voice actor behind much of the Looney Tunes line-up did. To list just a few of West's best-known credits, he was both of the title characters from The Ren & Stimpy Show, took over as Popeye at one time, led Futurama as Fry, and plenty more.

Nicole Kidman (Being The Ricardos)

Nicole Kidman's Academy Award-nominated portrayal of Lucille Ball in 2021's Being the Ricardos was achieved with more than just makeup. The actor shed her Australian accent and added a smokiness to match the I Love Lucy star's natural voice but was also challenged to imitate the more high-pitched tone of the comedy icon's onscreen alter ego.

Dr. Bernadette Maryann Rostenkowski-Wolowitz easily boasts one of the most impossibly high-pitched voices in sitcom history. However, The Big Bang Theory cast member Melissa Rauch actually sounds nothing like Howard Wolowitz's bride, yet maintained the façade convincingly for 10 seasons on the hit CBS comedy.

Chris Pratt (The Super Mario Bros. Movie)

Despite making "total sense" to the directors of Illumination's The Super Mario Bros. Movie, fans of the original Nintendo video game series had some initial hesitation over Chris Pratt's casting as the older Mario brother. However, the actor wisely avoided the plumber's stereotypical Italian dialect from the games in favor of a Brooklyn accent that effectively masked his natural voice.

Robert Pattinson (Mickey 17)

Robert Pattinson plays the title role of Bong Joon-ho's 2024 sci-fi comedy Mickey 17 with an entirely unrecognizable and, admittedly, kind of goofy voice. According to IndieWire, the English actor based the voice for his "expendable" character and his many clones off of comedian Steve-O.

Johnny Depp (Charlie And The Chocolate Factory)

Say what you want about Tim Burton's 2005 adaptation of Roald Dahl's Charlie and the Chocolate Factory but you have to admit that Johnny Depp did try something amusing with the role of Willy Wonka. To play the eccentric chocolatier, he adopted a high-pitched wheeze that almost makes you question if it really is the same guy who played Capt. Jack Sparrow under that top hat.

The Jumanji franchise has figured out a way to carry on its legacy while also expanding on the mythology for more movies. Decades ago, when audiences watched the first Jumanji movie, very few probably predicted that it would go on to create one of the best sci-fi franchises in the modern age. But a few things happened that increased the profile of the series, starting with the movie Zathura, which branched Jumanji out of the jungle and into outer space. It’s hard to believe that Zathura turns 20 years old in 2025, a fact that we had to bring up to Kristen Stewart when speaking with her on behalf of her latest movie – also a sci-fi experiment – titled Love Me.

Of course, when you hear the name Kristen Stewart, you probably think of her performance as Bella in The Twilight Saga, or your mind drifts to the numerous arthouse dramas she has been part of over the years. But before she fell in love with the sparkly vampires, Stewart played Lisa, the bratty older sister of the board game playing kids in Jon Favreau’s Jumanji spinoff, Zathura. Kristen Stewart had been in a handful of big movies up to that point, including David Fincher’s Panic Room opposite Jodie Foster (released in 2002). But when she looked back on Zathura, and her experience filming it, she had nothing but love, telling CinemaBlend in an exclusive interview:

I think the industry was still trying to figure out how to use Kristen Stewart in roles when she played Lisa in Zathura. It’s not the most pivotal role. Jonah Bobo and Josh Hutcherson play the young boys who activate the game, and they are joined on the adventure by Dax Shepard, playing a rogue astronaut. You’ll also see Tim Robbins as the family’s dad.

You might recall that Stewart has the unfortunate fate of being frozen in the movie. Here’s a clip, to refresh your memory:

Instead of asking the young actress to pose like a frozen statue, the crew made a “frozen” model of Kristen Stewart. So in our interview, I asked her which she found more disturbing: The cryogenically frozen Lisa, or the avatar characters she voices in the new movie Love Me. With a laugh, Stewart told CinemaBlend:

It would be very cool if Sony Pictures did something to commemorate the anniversary of Zathura, or even did what we asked them to do years ago and connect the current Jumanji franchise – starring The Rock and Kevin Hart – to Zathura in some meaningful way. Heck, Dax Shepard is more popular now than he was 20 years ago. Bringing his astronaut character back to the big screen for another Jumanji adventure would boost the nostalgia, while also bringing in a different audience. Heck, get Kristen Stewart involved somehow. As she says, she’s a huge fan of the series!

At the moment, we know that a fourth Jumanji movie set in the world of The Rock’s series is dated for release on December 11, 2026, though we don’t know a lot of details beyond that. Maybe more news will surface as we get closer to Zathura’s anniversary. Stay tuned.

We have seen Kristen Stewart do so much over the course of her varied career, from holding down action thrillers like Charlie’s Angels or American Ultra, to even disappearing into the role of Princess Diana in the complicated film Spencer. Looking back on her career in an exclusive interview with CinemaBlend, though, Stewart opened up about one thing she always hated trying to do on screen, and that’s laugh. Laughing can be a real challenge for actors, who have to do it on cue – usually over and over again – and make it seem authentic. And as Stewart told us:

That’s probably the best thing that can happen for an actor. You are asked to play a big laugh scene. And the laughter amongst you and your co-stars becomes contagious. Love Me has some unique ways it explores the human condition, which brings up the concept of generating artificial laughter. In an effort to establish some form of connection, Kristen Stewart’s buoy character watches online videos starring a social media influencer (also played by Stewart), and tries to mimic her to appear more human. This means being “happy” and “funny,” even when things are not. Which got me thinking about the challenges of acting.

Let’s start with the end of Stewart’s Twilight days where she wore a sheer gown for the Los Angeles premiere of The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2 back in 2012. Prior to this, Stewart kept things pretty straight-laced on red carpets, so stepping out in a nude (and very lacy) dress for the last Twilight movie felt like a moment of coming-of-age for her. The best thing about it is she later auctioned off the iconic piece of clothing to raise money for victims of Hurricane Sandy (per EW). I can't believe it's been over a decade since the Twilight saga ended!

Jumping four years, the difference in Stewart between these first two looks is astounding. Following the Twilight movies, the actor starred in a string of independent films, including 2016’s Certain Women alongside Laura Dern, Michelle Williams and Lily Gladstone. 

When the movie screened at the New York Film Festival, Stewart opted for a dark red matching suit and lace up heels. She challenged norms by skipping out on a shirt entirely and wearing a long gold necklace across her chest. She also rocked short blonde platinum hair that was slicked back. As K-Stew often does, she blurred the lines between classically female and male looks by pulling from both.

Another all-time great look came just a week later when Stewart was back on the red carpet at the New York Film Festival in another banger fashion ensemble for the premiere of Billy Lynn’s Long Halftime Walk. 

The actress looked like a pop star in a frilly lace crop top (with a single long sleeve) and white trousers ridden with cleverly placed safety pins all over them. Her short blonde hair had a ton of volume this time around and she wore bright pink eyeliner and blush. Again, it's completely different from the last look and feels like an art piece. I promise you, no one else looked as good and took more chances with a fashion look that night than her.

K-Stew pushed the envelope once again at the prestigious Cannes Film Festival when attending the premiere for that year’s big winner of the Palme d'Or prize, 120 Beats Per Minute. Stewart looked amazing in her blonde buzzcut, the same look she had for horror flick, Underwater. For the event, she paired her short hair with a metallic tweed pinafore dress and strapless bandeau bra that was fresh off the runaway from Karl Lagerfeld’s most recent Chanel collection at the time (and inspired by Ancient Greece).

In 2019, Kristen Stewart portrayed French New Wave icon Jean Seberg for Seberg. While promoting the flick at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF), she showed up to make another unique fashion statement. The actress loves herself a crop top, but for this look, she went business with it by wearing a cropped shirt that resembles a suit jacket with a silky necktie and brooch and some flared plaid pants. She also wore a heavy cat eye and side-swept two-toned hair.

Sigourney Weaver changed the sci-fi game when she starred in Alien. Ellen Ripley is a magnificent and strong leading woman in this sci-fi horror flick, which in 1979, was not something we saw very often.

“Bazinga!” Will always follow Jim Parsons, and that’s because of his tenure playing Sheldon Cooper in the CBS sitcom The Big Bang Theory. The actor has four Emmys for playing the role, he starred in all 280 episodes of the comedy, and his character even inspired a spinoff, Young Sheldon, which came to an end in 2024 after its own seven-season run. 

Kit Harington – Jon Snow, Game of Thrones

The world was introduced to Kit Harington because of Game of Thrones, and he will always be remembered as the heroic Jon Snow. His role in the GOT cast was vital, and over the years, as we watched him battle it out at The Wall and work toward saving Westeros from winter, it was impossible not to fall for him. Now, while Harington has been in numerous other projects since then, it’s impossible not to think of him as this epic fantasy hero first. 

Emma Watson – Hermione Granger, Harry Potter

These days, Emma Watson doesn’t act anymore, and she’s killing with her gin company Renais. However, she’ll also always be remembered as a wonderful actress who brought life to the beloved witch Hermione Granger in the Harry Potter films.

However, Jennifer Aniston, David Schwimmer, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, Matthew Perry and Courteney Cox are best known as Rachel, Ross, Phoebe, Joey, Chandler and Monica, and they always will be, because they’re the ones with a hit TV show.

After three Karate Kid movies, and six seasons of its highly successful spinoff Cobra Kai, you’d be silly not to think that Ralph Macchio will always be remembered for playing Daniel LaRusso. 

Linda Hamilton – Sarah Connor, The Terminator

Linda Hamilton played Sarah Connor in The Terminator, Terminator 2: Judgment Day and Terminator: Dark Fate. She’s beloved for portraying the protagonist in this sci-fi franchise, and she’s synonymous with this series that she starred in alongside Arnold Schwarzenegger.

While many Marvel actors have become synonymous with their characters, one who really stands out is Chris Hemsworth and Thor. Physically, the Australian actor perfectly embodies the God of Thunder, and throughout his time playing the character he added an unexpected sense of humor to the role – especially post-Thor: Ragnarok – that he’ll be remembered forever for.

Millie Bobby Brown has made quite a few successful films, like the Enola Holmes movies. However, it’s undeniable that the role that will define her career is Eleven in Stranger Things. She was only 12 when she started playing the mysterious super-powered human, and over the course of the show’s five-season run, both she and the ensemble of the Netflix series, have become pop culture icons because of the show. 

William Shatner – Captain Kirk, Star Trek

If you take a look at the four projects listed at the top of William Shatner’s IMDb page, all of them are Star Trek movies where he played Captain Kirk. The man starred in seven films and a long-running TV show as the beloved captain, so of course it’s what he’s best known for. 

Michael J. Fox – Marty McFly, Back to the Future

From Family Ties to Teen Wolf, Michael J. Fox and his shows and movies were ‘80s staples. However, there’s no denying that the project he’ll always be remembered for is Robert Zemeckis’ Back to the Future. To this day, the project is considered one of the best ‘80s movies, and Fox is still beloved for playing the charismatic, funny and heroic Marty McFly. 

Reese Witherspoon – Elle Woods, Legally Blonde 

In the over two decades since Legally Blonde’s release, so many have been inspired to pursue their dreams and wear lots and lots of pink. That’s because Elle Woods truly left an amazing mark on the zeitgeist, and it’s because of Reese Witherspoon’s heartfelt, funny and preppy performance as the incredible lawyer-in-training.

For 92 episodes, Hamm led the Mad Men cast as Don Draper – which he took an Emmy home for in 2015 – and he’ll always be recognized for playing the charismatic creative director of Sterling Cooper.

Judy Garland – Dorothy, The Wizard of Oz

The Wizard of Oz is a film that has raised generations of kids since 1939, and it’s still a family classic. So, when you lead a beloved musical like that, as Judy Garland did, and it remains relevant and loved for over eight decades, obviously, the role you’ll always be known for is that one. 

David Tennant – The Doctor, Doctor Who

While everyone who has played the titular timelord on Doctor Who is known for that role specifically, David Tennant is a fan-favorite Doctor, and it’s single-handedly the project he’s best known for. While he’s dabbled in many other critically acclaimed projects, like Good Omens and Broadchurch, he is and always will be the beloved actor who graced our screens as the Tenth and Fourteenth Doctors first and foremost. 

Anthony Hopkins – Hannibal Lecter, The Silence of the Lambs

Silence of the Lambs is one of the greatest horror movies of all time, and it’s in part thanks to Anthony Hopkins' truly terrifying cannibal Hannibal Lecter. In fact, his character became so popular that it inspired three more movies and a TV show.

I’m sure Carrie Bradshaw inspired many women to become writers, and I know she left many of us fantasizing about living out our lives in New York City. Sarah Jessica Parker truly slayed the role, and her own sense of style and charismatic personality meshed perfectly with Carrie. Along with playing the writer in the OG series Sex and the City, SJP has also portrayed her in two movies and the series And Just Like That. 

Emilia Clarke – Daenerys Targaryen, Game of Thrones 

Khaleesi, Mother of Dragons, Daenerys Targaryen, those are all the names Emilia Clarke’s dragon rider went by in Game of Thrones, and she gave an absolutely commanding performance as her. While her ending wasn’t what most wanted, there’s no denying how amazing it was to see Daenerys rise from a woman trying to survive to a powerful leader, and that’s because of how brilliant Clarke was in the role. 

Mark Hamill – Luke Skywalker, Star Wars

He was the face of the original trilogy, and you can’t think about Star Wars without thinking about Mark Hamill and Luke Skywalker. While the actor is well-known for other roles, especially in the world of voice acting, his most prominent part has to be this. 

Gal Gadot – Wonder Woman, Wonder Woman

Sadly, there aren’t many superhero movies led by women. However, luckily, we do have a few wonderful ones, and that includes Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman. She played the beloved hero with so much grace, poise and strength, and she’ll 100% always be remembered for it.

In his movie debut, a very young Matt Damon can briefly be seen in 1988's Mystic Pizza as Steamer Windsor, the younger brother of Adam Storke's Charles, the clean-cut, country-club love interest of fun-loving pizzeria waitress Daisy (Julia Roberts). Steamer is present at an awkward dinner where Charles brings Daisy home to meet the family. 

Viola Davis

In the 1998 crime comedy Out of Sight, which is undoubtedly one of Steven Soderbergh's best movies, Viola Davis has a small role playing Moselle Miller, the wife of boxer Maurice "Snoopy" Miller (Don Cheadle). She would later go on to act alongside her Out of Sight co-star Jennifer Lopez in another crime flick, 2015's Lila & Eve.

Philip Seymour Hoffman

The 1992 Martin Brest melodrama Scent of a Woman memorably stars Al Pacino as a blind retired colonel and Chris O'Donnell as the prep-school student hired to watch over him, but it also features Philip Seymour Hoffman in one of his earliest performances as a fellow student named George Willis, Jr.

Carey Mulligan

The Bennet household is a bustling one in Joe Wright's 2005 adaptation of the Jane Austen classic Pride and Prejudice, so much so that you might have overlooked that — along with the likes of Keira Knightley, Rosamund Pike and Jena Malone — a teenaged Carey Mulligan is one of the Bennet sisters. (It's just one of many movies that prove Mulligan should be a much bigger star.) 

Elijah Wood

Long before he embarked on a quest to destroy the One Ring as Frodo in The Lord of the Rings, Elijah Wood was a successful child actor in films like The Adventures of Huck Finn, The Good Son, North and Flipper. However, before those starring roles, the pint-sized performer showed up as "Video Game Boy #2" in Back to the Future Part II.

Octavia Spencer

The 1999 Drew Barrymore comedy Never Been Kissed is jam-packed with unexpected actor appearances, from Jessica Alba to James Franco — together they play a dopey but popular high school couple — to Octavia Spencer. With everything that goes on in Christopher Nolan's Interstellar — you know, that whole part about the astronauts who have to travel through a wormhole near Saturn in search of a new home for humankind — viewers may have forgotten that a fresh-faced Timothée Chalamet as Tim, the teen son of Matthew McConaughey's Cooper. 

Brie Larson

Well before she received an Oscar or donned a superhero cape, Captain Marvel star Brie Larson was a tween actress who had a main role in the short-lived WB sitcom Raising Dad. One of her first big-screen gigs, however, was as a popular Six Chick in the 2004 Jennifer Garner favorite 13 Going on 30. (Don't feel too bad, Mark Ruffalo didn't remember her either.) 

Charlize Theron

If you're a fan of The Wonders, you no doubt remember band members Guy (Tom Everett Scott), Lenny (Steve Zahn), Jimmy (Johnathon Schaech) and the bass player (Ethan Embry). However, you may not so readily remember that Charlize Theron is also in That Thing You Do!, as Guy's ex-girlfriend Tina, who leaves him for her dentist. 

Joe Manganiello 

Before making the ladies sweat in the Magic Mike franchise, Joe Manganiello was making Peter Parker sweat for an entirely different reason in Sam Raimi's Spider-Man film series, playing the high-school bully Flash Thompson. His character dated Kirsten Dunst's Mary Jane before she ended up with Spidey himself (Tobey Maguire). 

Seth Rogen

The titular teen protagonist of Donnie Darko (played by Jake Gyllenhaal) doesn't just have to deal with those disturbing visions of a rabbit-costumed man named Frank. He also has to deal with a pair of high school bullies, one of whom is played by Seth Rogen in his first ever movie appearance. 

Amy Adams

The Steven Spielberg-directed crime comedy Catch Me If You Can featured several now-well-known actresses before they were household names, including Ellen Pompeo, Elizabeth Banks and Amy Adams. The latter acted opposite Leonardo DiCaprio (played teenage con artist Frank Abagnale Jr.) as Brenda Strong, a young hospital worker who falls for Frank and his fraud. 

Keira Knightley

Michael Fassbender

"Gupta? Mhm. Mhm. Mhm. The queen is coming!" It's one of the most memorable lines uttered in The Princess Diaries and it's said by none other than a pre-Grey's Anatomy Sandra Oh. Joining Anne Hathaway and Julie Andrews in the beloved cast, Oh plays the humorous vice principal at Mia Thermopolis's school.

It's hard to remember a time when Samuel L. Jackson wasn't a major movie star, but in the 1970s and '80s, the iconic actor was racking up bit parts in big titles, including Eddie Murphy's Coming to America. In the 1988 rom-com, Jackson plays a character known as "Hold-Up Man," an armed robber who has held up the local fast-food restaurant called McDowell's five times.

Though she has been acting professionally since grade school, Kristen Stewart didn't become a global star until she played moody teen Bella Swan in 2008's vampire romance Twilight. But years before that, she played a memorable part in the 2002 David Fincher thriller Panic Room, appearing opposite Jodie Foster as her character's daughter.

\Dakota Johnson had her big Hollywood breakthrough leading a beloved book-to-film adaptation, as Anastasia Steele in the erotic Fifty Shades film series. Before she led the Clovers to cheer competition victory in 2000's Bring It On, Gabrielle Union was given supporting roles in '90s teen favorites like 10 Things I Hate About You and She's All That. The latter was actually her film debut, in which she appeared as popular girl Katie, a member of Zack Siler's (Freddie Prinze Jr.) friend group. 

Nicolas Cage

Technically, Nicolas Cage wasn't in Fast Times at Ridgemont High. But Nicolas Coppola was — when he made his feature film acting debut in the 1982 coming-of-age comedy, the actor was still going by his birth name. However, the Oscar-winning star would later change his name professionally to avoid nepotism allegations. (He is, of course, the nephew of director Francis Ford Coppola and actress Talia Shire, and a cousin of director Sofia Coppola and actor Jason Schwartzman.)

Johnny Depp

Johnny Depp memorably made his big-screen debut in the 1984 horror film A Nightmare on Elm Street, but movie fans might not remember that a short while later, he also appeared in Oliver Stone's war film Platoon as a young soldier fighting in the Vietnam War alongside the likes of Charlie Sheen, Willem Dafoe, Tom Berenger, Forest Whitaker and Kevin Dillon.

Natalie Portman has had a prolific acting career ever since she was a tween, starting from when she starred as the young protégée of a hitman in the 1994 action film Léon: The Professional at only twelve years old. Though that was an instantly memorable introduction to the performer, you might have forgotten that only a year later, she worked alongside screen greats like Al Pacino and Robert De Niro in the Michael Mann-directed classic, Heat. 

Tom Holland

He's most famous for spinning webs as Spider-Man but long before that, Tom Holland was making his film debut (and making audiences weep) in the 2012 disaster drama The Impossible, as a young boy desperately trying to reunite with his family following a horrific tsunami. 

Vince Vaughn

The heartwarming 1993 sports drama Rudy — about a young man (Sean Astin) who dreams of playing football at the University of Notre Dame — features an ironic pair of film-acting debuts. It was the first movie roles of both Jon Favreau and Vince Vaughn, playing teaching assistant D-Bob and tailback Jamie O'Hara, respectively. That duo would famously go on to star in the 1996 buddy comedy Swingers. 

Ryan Gosling

Another early football role for a Hollywood heavyweight, a young Ryan Gosling already had some big TV gigs under his belt (The Mickey Mouse Club, Young Hercules) before he appeared as Alan Bosley, the wiry cornerback of T. C. Williams High School's football team in Remember the Titans. And if you remember that locker-room singalong, you know the little Goose had charisma even then!

Mila Kunis

Yes, that is a mini Mila Kunis in Honey, We Shrunk Ourselves — she played a friend of Wayne Szalinski's (Rick Moranis) niece, who throws a house party once it seems like all of the grown-ups have left for the evening. (Instead, the adults have been accidentally zapped to microscopic proportions, naturally.) 

Daniel Craig

Before he was Bond, James Bond, Daniel Craig was Ballard, John Ballard, in the 1998 historical drama Elizabeth. The British actor portrayed a priest-slash-assassin who conspired with the Duke of Norfolk (Christopher Eccleston) to overthrow Queen Elizabeth I (played by Cate Blanchett) from the throne. Of course, Bond would never treat the Queen of England that way!

Jake Gyllenhaal

Given that filmmaking is a family business for Jake Gyllenhaal — he is the son of film director Stephen Gyllenhaal and screenwriter Naomi Foner, and the younger bro of the great actress Maggie Gyllenhaal — it's not a shock that the actor started young. He made his film debut at age ten in 1991's City Slickers, playing the son of Billy Crystal's character Mitch Robbins. 

Kerry Washington

Kerry Washington is best known for playing crisis management expert Olivia Pope in the ABC drama series Scandal, but more than a decade earlier, she showed off her fix-it skills as Chenille Reynolds in Save the Last Dance, helping Julia Stiles's character Sara better integrate into their South Side high school and hip-hop culture at large. 

Ben Affleck

Like his famous best friend Matt Damon, Ben Affleck also began his acting career as a child and while eagle-eyed moviegoers no doubt remember spotting him in early-'90s films like School Ties and Dazed and Confused, they may have forgotten his uncredited early cameos, such as "Basketball Player 10" in the Buffy the Vampire Slayer movie. 

While Kristen Stewart got megafame for Twilight, she's established herself as a wildly versatile talent, one that got an Oscar nomination for Spencer. One of her most recent credits is Love Lies Bleeding, which got a ton of attention after its Sundance premiere. But if you thought Love Lies Bleeding was just a bodybuilding movie or a love story, I finally watched it and its way wilder.

Love Lies Bleeding's trailer showed off the drama's love story, but it also teased that something weirder was happening. With the price of digitally renting the movie on Amazon lowered, I finally got to stream the project from the comfort of my own home. And I had no idea just how bizarre and supernatural the project would get.

Love Lies Bleeding could have functioned as a straightforward crime drama. Kristen Stewart's protagonist Lou meets a bodybuilder Jackie (Katy O'Brian), and give her a place to stay and steroids for her forthcoming competition in Vegas. But the drugs end up making her more aggressive, and she eventually gets revenge for Lou's sister and kills her brother in-law J.J. (Dave Franco).

This story is definitely thrilling enough to stand on its own two feet, but Love Lies Bleeding's ending takes the story to a supernatural place. Because when Jackie is working out while she's on steroids, her muscles suddenly grow in a quick and unnerving fashion. She looks like she's practically bursting out of her skin, which adds an unsettling bit of tension that rises throughout the film's brisk 104-minute runtime. 

The story surrounding Jackie's steroid use is definitely disturbing, partly thanks to the expert editing and unsettling score for Love Lies Bleeding. But what I definitely wasn't expecting was for her to grow into a bonafide giant in the movie's explosive third act. When it looked like Lou was going to be killed by her father (Ed Harris), the giant Jackie, grown thanks to her steroid use, saves the day and pins him down. 

It's in this scene that the movie truly separates itself from reality, and becomes a project outside of the concepts of genre. But after everything we've seen in the movie so far, the audience is forced to simply accept this. Jackie isn't imagining she's huge, she actually is. And while she eventually becomes human sized and drives away with Lou, we're left wondering if steroid use will give her that super power for good.

Because of all of this, Love Lies Bleeding has quickly rose to one of my favorite movies of the year. While I was in to see Kristen Stewart in an interesting queer role, the movie had more to offer than I could have known.

Throughout his career, Seth Meyers has spent a lot of time behind a desk interviewing everyone from A-listers on Late Night With Seth Meyers to silly Weekend Update guests on Saturday Night Live. While he’s a stellar late-night host and interviewer generally, his segment Day Drinking is special because it really gets celebrities laughing. Now, he’s revealed his favorite Day Drinking moment, and it involves a bit he did with Kristen Stewart where he thought he “fucking blew it.”

Meyers spoke about Day Drinking at length with IndieWire, and he made sure to note that Kristen Stewart was one of his “favorite” guests on the segment. He went on to recall his top moment with the actress, and while he was a bit worried at the time, in hindsight, it was hilarious, as he explained:

For some context, about halfway through the Day Drinking episode, Mayers asked Stweart to read “the dumbest lines of dialogue” they had written for her. She then went on to recite a series of goofy lines with no prior knowledge of what they’d be, and it’s hilarious. The SNL vet gave her joking notes, and as it went on, the actress kept going take after take, and even snapped at Seth when he cut her off.

All of it was in good fun, and I can see why it's his favorite moment, and you can too by watching the bit below:

Meyers continued to explain how they ended up getting Stewart on the silly segment in the first place. He said he had interviewed her once before and “dug her vibe,” then he noted that he clocked her comedic skills while working with her on Saturday Night Live. So, they reached out, and she was down, to the host’s surprise, as he said:

While we can’t condone day drinking, there’s no denying how funny this late-night bit is. From Kelly Clarkson to Rihanna to Julia Louis-Dreyfus to Kristen Stewart, Seth Meyers and his team have taken many A-listers out for a day at the bar, and it’s always hilarious in the most unexpected ways. However, there’s no denying that the K-Stew episode was a real highlight.

Kristen Stewart Is Leading Her First TV Show 

Stewart has just signed on to star and produce a miniseries called The Challenger, where she’ll play Sally Ride, the first American woman and member of the LGBTQ+ community to fly into space, per Deadline. For as long as the actress has been working, it will actually be her first TV series ever!

The Challenger will be written by Maggie Cohn, who contributed to shows like American Crime Story: The Assassination of Gianni Versace, The Staircase and Narcos: Mexico. It’s also being produced by Kyra Sedgwick, who has been developing it since 2017. 

The actress will be playing the NASA icon, who flew to space for the first time in 1983 to a ton of media buzz. Ride got to spend over 343 hours in space across her two trips and had planned on more if it wasn’t for the tragic Challenger disaster of 1986. Following the Space Shuttle breaking apart 73 seconds into its launch, Ride was placed on the Rogers Commission, to investigate what went wrong. Following her death, it was revealed that Ride was behind one major discovery in the investigation that led to the commission understanding the cause of the explosion. 

Considering the TV show is titled The Challenger, we imagine the series will place its main focus on telling the story of Sally Ride’s involvement in the Rogers Commission. Sally Ride, who died in 2012 of cancer, is a real-life American hero and a queer icon. 

Kristen Stewart Has An Impressive Streak Of LGBTQ+ Roles Going 

As Kristen Stewart signs on the show, I think it's worth noting how successful Stewart has been with finding quality LGBTQ+ roles lately. 

In a world where the queer community is often pushed to the sidelines when it comes to storytelling, the actress has found herself in a ton of diverse roles that allow her to explore the many experiences of queer people. She most recently received a lot of love for her Sundance film, Love Lies Bleeding, producing her own queer ghost-hunting show and of course starring as the lead of the Happiest Season cast. 

I can’t wait to see Kristen Stewart continue to explore her range whilst also being true to what roles speak to her. Her career is really showcasing how queer actors really can find authentic and important characters representing the LGBTQ+ community if they seek it out. 

When it comes to Hollywood fashion, Kristen Stewart is always strutting on red carpets, industry events and press days in gorgeous ensembles that always have us taking notes. From the actress recently rocking the sheer dress trend to the high-cut bodysuit she wore while promoting one of 2024’s movies, Love Lies Bleeding, But according to K-Stew, if it wasn’t for her fame, her fashion sense wouldn’t be so polished.

When Kristen Stewart spoke to luxury fashion magazine Net-A-Porter for her latest high-fashion photoshoot and cover story, she revealed that things would be different for her if her occupation wasn’t in the spotlight. In her words:

Stewart counts herself among actors who don't spend their time filling public social media feeds with glamour shots, though she admitted to having a secret Instagram account to share “selfies with friends.” She also keeps her relationship with fiancée Dylan Meyer relatively private – aside from Guy Fieri wedding hopes. However, as she recently shared, she actually enjoys how fame has allowed her to tap into her fashion sense in a big way, especially since she figures she would “wear the same thing every day” otherwise.

K-Stew has been walking red carpets since 2002, when she showed up at the Panic Room premiere at the age of 11. Over the years, we’ve seen the actress’ fashion sense evolve and make more bold choices. Kristen Stewart certainly emulates her casual fashion sense a lot in the spotlight as she’s not necessarily one to wear a fussy sparkly dress. But if it wasn’t for all the cameras on her all the time, she really doesn’t think fashion would be a priority for her. It’s all “part of the job.”

I don’t mind saying it out loud, Twilight is one of the best vampire movies out there, especially when it comes to how it captured teen angst and first love through Bella and Edward’s twisted romance. But after Kristen Stewart spent five years of her life in Stephanie Meyer’s gloomy fictional town of Forks, I never imagined she would sign on for another vampire movie - especially after saying she would dump Edward Cullen now. But K-Stew has just in fact put her name on a vampire movie, and I can’t wait. 

Even though I’m among a large and loyal fanbase of the Twilight franchise, I’m happy Kristen Stewart has branched out and away from the series rather than playing Bella for decade upon decade. Even though the movies are blasts to rewatch, it’s been amazing to see the actress make all sorts of movies outside the genre, whether that be her Oscar-nominated role in Spencer or her recent A24 flick, Love Lies Bleeding. It will be exciting to see her return to the world of bloodsuckers in a new way. Let’s talk about it. 

The Vampire Movie Kristen Stewart Just Signed On For 

Kristen Stewart has signed on for a movie called Flesh Of The Gods alongside Oscar Isaac, per The Hollywood Reporter. The movie is described as a “vampire thriller” that will have the two stars playing a married couple living in 1980s’ Los Angeles where they “cross paths with the mysterious and enigmatic woman and her hard-partying cabal” they get “seduced into a glamorous, surrealistic world of hedonism, thrills, and violence.” 

The movie is set to be helmed by Panos Cosmatos, who is best known for making 2018’s Mandy starring Nicolas Cage. Cosmatos thought up the story himself and described it as “a hot rod joy ride deep into the glittering heart of hell,” and Andrew Kevin Walker, who famously wrote the script for Se7en, has penned Flesh Of The Gods. The movie is already expected to begin production later this year. 

Why It Has Me Excited As A Twilight Stan 

Aside from seeing Kristen Stewart continue to make her film career her own with bold choices like this one, as a Twilight stan, I hope this means we’ll finally get to see her go full vampire mode. While we did get to see Bella turn into a vampire during Breaking Dawn Part 2, I always have wished there was more of the story devoted to the character as a vampire, because it would have been so fun. Obviously, this movie is a whole different concept and story, but I’m going to smile so hard if Stewart gets to turn into a vampire this time around in what seems to be a sultry, R-rated take on the fantastical nightstalkers. 

While there’s no release date set for Flesh Of The Gods, I’m excited for it to arrive among upcoming horror movies. While K-Stew is not coming back to the world of Twilight, now we’ll get to see her in a vampire flick and see the Twilight animated TV show that is in the works. It’s a win-win! 

Kristen Stewart is an A-lister who is constantly making headlines, thanks to both her professional and personal life. But celebrities are just like us, and that includes the occasional binge-watch for TV shows. Stewart is bingeing Gilmore Girls (which can be streamed with a Netflix subscription) and comparing Rory's mistakes to her own affair indiscretions. 

While Lorelai can be the worst on Gilmore Girls, Rory definitely makes plenty of mistakes both in the original series and in A Year in the Life. That includes multiple bouts of infidelity, where she was the other woman for Dean and Logan. While appearing on Them, Stewart revealed she's been spending time in Stars Hollow, and her reaction to the missteps by Alexis Bledel's blue eyed character. In her words:

There you have it. It sounds like bingeing Gilmore Girls has inspired the Twilight alum to look back on controversies in her own life. Indeed, she had her own infidelity scandal a few years ago. 

For those who don't remember, Stewart admitted to having an affair with Snow White and the Huntsman director Rupert Sanders. This was while he was married, and while K. Stew was still dating Robert Pattinson. It was a major scandal at the time, and one that she seemingly sees reflected onscreen during the run of Gilmore Girls. 

For those who don't remember, Rory definitely made some major indiscretions during the run of Gilmore Girls and A Year in the Life. There's been debate about which of Rory's boyfriends is the right one for her. Early in the show's run it was Jess vs Dean, with the latter getting married to fellow Stars Hollow resident Lindsay Lister. And when his marriage was having problems, he and Rory end up having sex--with Bledel's character losing her virginity in the process. 

While Kristen Stewart is reflecting on her own affair as a result of watching Rory's indiscretions, she better buckle up as she continues binge watching. Namely because A Year in the Life reveals that she was once again the other woman in adulthood... this time as Logan's mistress. Hopefully the Charlie's Angels actress can share her thoughts one she gets to the spinoff series.

The superhero genre has been a powerful force in the entertainment industry, one that's showing no signs of slowing down. Fans have spent years watching the Marvel movies in order, and look forward to future projects coming both to theaters and streaming with a Disney+ subscription. A number of A-listers have joined the shared universe, although there are still some that fans would like to see appear in an upcoming Marvel movie. Chief among them is Twilight icon Kristen Stewart, who recently revealed the one condition that could get her to jump into Marvel. 

The best Kristen Stewart movies have spanned a number of genres, including playing Bella in Twilight and kicking ass in the Charlie's Angels reboot (although she hated filming it). While appearing on the Not Skinny Not Fat podcast to promote her new movie Love Lies Bleeding, she revealed the one way she'd join the MCU, offering:

Honestly, sign me up. Greta Gerwig is an acclaimed filmmaker who has crushed it with both original screenplays and adaptations like Little Women. And after the record-breaking success of Barbie, it seems like she could jump on just about any projects she wants. And if she's helming a Marvel movie, that could convince Stewart to get in on the comic book fun.

While originally saying she'll likely never join a MCU project, Stewart backtracked on the podcast and said it would have to be a dream director like Gerwig. And this doesn't seem like a total impossibility. After all, Chloé Zhao went from her Oscar winning movie Nomadland to helming Eternals. 

Moviegoers have wanted the Spencer actress to join the MCU for some time, even debating which Marvel characters Kristen Stewart could play, including Lady Deadpool. We'll just have to wait and see if that character ends up debuting in Deadpool & Wolverine.

Of course, signing onto a Marvel role is a huge commitment that not all actors are into. Usually they sign multi-movie deals with the studio, and can be contracted to film whenever the MCU might need them. That could be affecting Stewart's opinion about joining the shared universe. And as such, it's going to take extenuating circumstances like Greta Gerwig's involvement in order to get her in on the fun.

For now, Stewart has been keeping busy with a number of projects. She recently got her first Oscar nomination for Spencer, did a queer rom-com with Happiest Season, and her new movie Love Lies Bleeding is getting a ton of buzz.

Every few years a Young Adult franchise becomes a bonafide sensation, on both the page and movies. The Twilight Saga is definitely in that category, with the films making household names out of Robert Pattinson, Taylor Lautner, and Kristen Stewart. The latter actress has had a few years of separation from Bella, and recently explained why she'd dump Edward Cullen "immediately." Let's break it all down. 

Stewart got insane fame from Twilight, and spent years playing Bella Swan in the franchise (which can be streamed with a Hulu subscription). In addition to dealing with paparazzi, she was also grappling with her character's decisions in the films. While appearing on the podcast Not Skinny Not Fat, she spoke about her character's desperation to be with Edward, offering:

Points were made. While Edward Claimed he was trying to save Bella from the realities of being a vampire, he was also being super controlling in his attempts. And as such, K. Stew would have totally broken up with the undead heartthrob. Can you blame her?

Stewart's comments help to peel back the curtain on her process playing Bella, and true feelings about her relationship with Edward. Of course, this likely won't stop hardcore Twilight fans from shipping the pair for the foreseeable future. 

There's plenty to debate about the Bella/Edward relationship throughout Twilight, so I don't blame Kristen Stewart for her latest comments. Especially since she actually had to play the lead role and say her lines over and over again for four movies. I trust her opinion. 

Despite the years that have passed since Breaking Dawn – Part 2's ending hit theaters,  the Twilight franchise has remained part of the pop culture landscape. Writer Stephenie Meyer kept things going with the Midnight Sun book, which told the story of the first Twilight but from the perspective of Edward. 

Kristen Stewart has stayed wildly busy since ending her tenure in Twilight, with a mixture of major studio and indie roles. She recently got her first Oscar nomination for playing Princess Diana in Spencer. Still, there are plenty of fans out there who will always associate her with her tenure playing Bella Swan in the Twilight movies.

It's been over a decade since the end of the Twilight film franchise, and Kristen Stewart has done a ton of roles since then. In many ways, the Oscar-nominated actress has managed to distance herself from the role of Bella Swan. However, that doesn’t mean she’ll soon forget starring in the vampire-centric series. In fact, Stewart just fondly looked back on the wedding dress she wore in the penultimate movie. It's actually because of that outfit that she's not so keen on classic fit when she ties the knot in real life.

When The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 1 hit theaters back in 2011, Bella Swan’s gorgeous wedding gown was instantly seared into the memory of millions. It's fair to say that its aesthetic was immediately added to tons of wedding inspiration boards. Kristen Stewart can appreciate the famous Twilight dress, but we probably shouldn't expect her to channel that in real life:

Christina Perri’s “A Thousand Years,” which plays in the background during the scene has even become one of the most popular wedding song for brides to walk down the aisle to, in recent years. Considering how heightened that event was and that the actress technically "got to do" up such a moment on camera, I can understand why she wouldn't be keen on repeating it in real life.

Kristen Stewart has been engaged to Dylan Meyer since 2021 and has made it clear over the years that she’s not planning a classic wedding. Previously, she’s said she wants to be “chilling” on her big day by wearing her best pair of Levi’s and a faux tuxedo cutoff t-shirt. That's definitely a change of pace from the typical wedding gown. Stewart also went viral for saying she wanted Guy Fieri to officiate her wedding. 

Needless to say, her actual big day should greatly differ from Bella and Edward's. While speaking to Who What Wear though, she also recalled the good memories she had wearing her iconic white dress for Breaking Dawn Part 1, saying:

Realistically, few brides her age would be able to afford the $35,000 custom Carolina Herrera gown, which took the designer a reported six months to complete ahead of production (per E!). The actress recalls that the process of filming the scene exuded energy that's comparable to a real wedding. That's partially because she was kept away from everyone else while they readied the set (probably to ensure the dress was not revealed early). It wasn’t dissimilar to how a bride might feel on her own big day.

During her appearance on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert, which aired on the 2024 TV schedule on March 11, Kristen Stewart was questioned about the backlash to the cover, notably her provocative pose with her hand inside her jockstrap. This inquiry came on the heels of Colbert sharing that CBS had reservations about airing the image on the program. Before defiantly sharing the photo, he said:

Before complimenting the Twilight star’s ability to pull off sportswear -- “I want to say you look better in a jockstrap than I ever did,” Colbert said -- Stephen asked the A-list actress why she thought so many were up in arms about the cover. The Personal Shopper performer took a moment before giving a measured response:

What we know about Love Lies Bleeding is that it's an LGBTQ+ romantic thriller that is already stirring significant buzz following its Sundance premiere. The excitement surged following the trailer release, which showcased Stewart in a distinctly gay role, which excited many of her fans.

Movie fans have been eagerly awaiting Kristen Stewart's new romantic thriller Love Lies Bleeding to drop on the 2024 movie release schedule (it hits theaters March 8) ever since it earned rave reviews at Sundance earlier this year. Early-bird viewers praised the star's potent, electric chemistry with her co-star Katy O'Brian, and Stewart recently revealed that their onscreen connection was boosted by the presence of an intimacy coordinator. 

The 33-year-old actress plays a reclusive gym manager Lou, who falls hard for Jackie (O'Brian), an ambitious bodybuilder with dreams of making it big in Las Vegas. Things quickly heat up between the characters—as seen in Love Lies Bleeding's steamy, tense trailer—though their relationship is complicated by Lou's criminal family (led by a terrifying Ed Harris). In portraying the bond between Lou and Jackie, Stewart told Yahoo Entertainment that the movie's intimacy coordinator helped make filming those physical scenes feel "free": 

An intimacy coordinator is a member of a film crew who acts as a liaison between the actors and the rest of production, most often during the filming of sex scenes. This staffer works closely with directors, movement coaches and choreographers to help map out how simulated sex, instances of nudity and other intimate scenes will play out both onscreen and during filming. 

The Oscar-nominated star—known for her performances in Spencer, Clouds of Sils Maria, Still Alice, Happiest Season and the Twilight franchise, among others—noted that that "freeing" feeling she had on Love Lies Bleeding wasn't always the case when she's filmed intimate scenes in the past:

Kristen Stewart is no stranger to franchises as she starred as Bella in one of the best vampire movies, The Twilight Saga. As for if we’ll see her in another big franchise like let’s say the MCU, Stewart appears to have her sights set on a different type of project. While it’s not in the realm of Marvel, the Charlie’s Angels actress has one comic book in mind that she’d love to see get the film treatment.

There are so many actors we’d like to see enter the MCU. We’ve seen Kristen Stewart enter the world of fantasy with the Twilight series, kick-ass action in Charlie’s Angels, and indie films with her new A24 movie Love Lies Bleeding. You’d think with so many actors moving into the superhero genre that Stewart would be next. While the Panic Room actress would love to venture into a comic book-adapted film, she told ComicBook that she’s got a graphic novel in mind that’s not Marvel-related.

In case you’ve never heard of On a Sunbeam, it’s a sci-fi webcomic about a teen girl who joins the crew of the maintenance ship Aktis and attempts to reconnect with a lost love from her all-girls boarding school. This would be a great story to tell not only for its LGBTQ+ representation, but also to be able to see female characters take the lead in the sci-fi genre. As Kristen Stewart plans to take the director’s chair for the first time with The Chronology of Water, maybe she can helm this adaptation.

Back in 2015, Kristen Stewart expressed her interest in joining the Marvel franchise. In particular, she would have liked to take part in Captain America. But as she recently told ComicBook, Stewart would prefer to be part of projects that blend big-budget spectacles with deep stories. There may be a number of Marvel characters the Still Alice star would be perfect for, but I can understand her wanting to shift her focus away from big-budgeted spectacles after starring in Twilight for so long. It seems to be a good direction for her as critics loved her new romantic thriller Love Lies Bleeding about the 1980s romance of a reclusive gym manager and a bodybuilder.

On the other hand, if Kristen Stewart were to have a place in the superhero world, she’d like to play a gay superhero. The Snow White and the Huntsman actress has expressed what needs to be seen in the future of queer storytelling where the struggles of the LGBTQ+ community are not all that's highlighted in movies. We should be able to see a superhero with a queer love interest portrayed as typical as any fan-favorite Marvel couple. 

We still have a long way to go with many queer comic book couples we’d love to see on the big screen. Eternals may have introduced Marvel’s first openly gay character Phastos, who was part of the ensemble of superheroes. But, maybe we can finally have a gay superhero take the lead and Stewart could be the one to fill those shoes someday.

Kristen Stewart may not be seeking out her place in the Marvel world, but she does have her mind set on On a Sunbeam to be adapted. One of the best vampire movies we’ve seen from Hollywood is the 2008 adaptation of Stephanie Meyer’s Twilight starring Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson. The brooding romance became so popular that it spawned four more movies and helped launch the careers of many of the members of the Twilight cast. While the franchise often deals with some major life-and-death situations along with putting a new twist on the mythology of vampires and werewolves, there are many instances where they were surprisingly funny, too. 

"You better hold on tight, spider monkey." - Edward Cullen, Twilight 

One of the most iconic lines in the Twilight saga comes during the first movie not long after Bella Swan officially learns Edward Cullen is a vampire. During one of their dates following Edward being candid about his big secret, he has her go on his back and they do a high-flying jaunt through Forks, Washington’s lush forests. As they get ready to do this, Bella calls her a spider monkey… being the romantic he is, of course. 

“You know, your mood swings are kind of giving me whiplash.” - Bella Swan, Twilight  

When Bella Swan is first getting to know her mysterious lab partner, Edward Cullen, she notices that his mood changes by the day. When she comments on his “mood swings,” she has of course no idea that he’s really a vampire who was sometimes between excursions to feed on animal blood. 

“Bella! Where the hell have you been, loca?”- Jacob Black, New Moon

When Bella Swan deals with an agonizing breakup with Edward Cullen in the second movie, New Moon, she reconnects with her childhood friend, Jacob Black. When he first greets her, he says this memorable line that will likely be quoted to Taylor Lautner for the rest of his life. 

“Get a whiff of that, here comes the human!” - Rosalie Hale, Twilight 

Most people can relate to the anxiety that might accompany introducing one’s date to their parents for the first time. In the case of Bella Swan meeting the Cullens, his vampire mother Esme Cullen could literally smell Bella coming to their home due to the odor from her blood! 

“I vote yes. It would be nice not to want to kill you all the time.” - Jasper, New Moon 

Before Bella Swan becomes a vampire at the end of Breaking Dawn, Part 1, the Cullen family spend a lot of time thinking about whether they are going to allow the teen to be part of their vampire family. During a vote in New Moon, Jasper Hale, who is the newest vampire of the bunch shares he’s very into the idea because as a human he always has thoughts of sucking her sweet, sweet blood. 

“I guess the wolf’s out of the bag.” - Embry Call, New Moon 

In New Moon, Bella Swan learns that Forks, Washington isn’t only the home to a family of vampires but a clan of werewolves, too! Bella first finds out when one of the members of Jacob’s pack gets heated during a conversation with them and transforms into a werewolf in front of her eyes. After the intense moment, one of the members of the pack, Embry Call, quips with this funny line. 

“Bella, what is that god awful wet dog smell?” - Alice Cullen, New Moon 

As the vampires and werewolves of Forks interact throughout the Twilight movies, it’s made pretty apparent that they both don’t like each other much. When Alice Cullen comes back to see Bella after Edward previously broke up with her, she notices right away that she’s been spending a lot of time with werewolves with this quote. 

Jessica Stanley: “Aren’t people from Arizona supposed to be like, really tan?” Bella Swan: “Yeah, maybe that’s why they kicked me out.” - Twilight

Twilight begins with Bella Swan moving to Forks, Washington to live with her father after living in Phoenix, Arizona with her mom for some time. Early in the movie as she is getting to know her classmates, there are quite a few awkward moments, like Anna Kendrick’s Jessica Stanley quipping about how her complexion is rather pale for someone from Arizona. 

"Bella, I hope you've gotten enough sleep these last 18 years. Because you won't be getting anymore for a while!” - Emmett Cullen, Breaking Dawn Part 1

Leave it to the best man to embarrass the bride and groom at the wedding! In Breaking Dawn Part 1 during the couple's lavish backyard reception, Edward's vampire brother offers a toast to the newlyweds by telling Bella he hopes she got "enough sleep." It's of course a reference to her plans to become a vampire, and vampires don't sleep! 

"Could you at least act human? I mean, I've got neighbors." - Bella Swan, Twilight  

Once Edward and Bella have fully talked about his secret identity as a vampire in the first Twilight movie, he starts getting a little show-offy around her while they are hanging out at her front porch. Bella responds with a funny line asking her new boyfriend to at least try to “act human.” 

“Is she even Italian?” - Rosalie Hale, Twilight

If you didn’t know, Bella isn’t just a name, it also means “beautiful” in Italian. So, when Bella Swan met Edward’s family for the first time, they decided to take inspiration by cooking her an Italian dinner in celebration of her name. No, the character isn’t Italian, which Rosalie mentions right before the meeting before smashing a bowl of salad upon their first meeting. 

Yeah, I had an adrenaline rush. It’s very common. You can Google it.” - Edward Cullen, Twilight 

In the early days of Edward and Bella’s relationship, Bella is always questioning and trying to figure him out, especially after he runs over and pushes an entire van from slamming into her early into Twilight. When she probes him about it, he at first simply chalks it up to an “adrenaline rush.” 

“Nessie? You nicknamed my daughter after the Loch Ness monster?” - Bella Swan, Breaking Dawn, Part 2 

And, who can forget Edward and Bella’s creepy vampire baby, Renesmee whom Jacob Black imprints on in Breaking Dawn, Part 2? It was a controversial development in the franchise for sure, but the movie wasn’t afraid to make light of it in one confrontation between Bella and Jacob where he calls her Nessie and the new mother goes berserk on him about it.  

“Doesn’t he own a shirt?” - Edward Cullen, Eclipse  

In order to transform into Jacob Black as a werewolf in New Moon, Taylor Lautner got into crazy good shape for the second movie and so forth. But then the movies became known for Jacob often taking off his shirt on camera. In one scene in Eclipse, Edward jokes about this to Bella by asking if he even owns a shirt. 

"I kissed Bella and she broke her hand. Punching my face. It was a complete misunderstanding." - Jacob Black, Eclipse  

A big part of the Twilight movies was the contention between Edward and Jacob, which Taylor Lautner has shared even spilled into their actual relationship. During Eclipse, Jacob ends up actually kissing Bella while she’s in a relationship with Edward, which leads her to punch him in the face and break her hand because he’s a werewolf. After the incident, Jacob and Edward square off, leading Bella’s dad Charlie to sense the tension and ask what’s wrong. This is how Jacob matter of factly responds and it brings out the comedy of the situation quickly. 

Bella Swan: "So, this party. Will there be strippers?" Edward Cullen: “Just a few mountain lions, a couple grizzly bears.” - Breaking Dawn Part 1 

In the first Breaking Dawn movie, Edward and Bella get married, but before they do Edward is stolen away in the night by his brothers for his bachelor party. Bella asks if he’ll have a typical party involving dancers, but he shares that it will involve mountain lions and grizzly bears instead. He’s fully serious, but it is a bit funny that the night before his wedding he’ll be hanging out with animals instead of going out to bars. 

Bella Swan: “How long have you been 17?” Edward Cullen: "A while..." - Twilight 

During Twilight, Bella Swan finally comes up with the right theory to explain all the wild things going on with her lab partner, Edward Cullen. They meet in the woods and Bella Swan shares that she knows what he is. Before flat out saying “vampire,” she asks him how long he’s been 17 years old. While it’s a serious moment, Edward breaks the tension a bit by simply answering with “a while.” 

“...So you're the wolf girl.” - Bella Swan, New Moon

While Bella Swan is hanging out with Jacob Black in New Moon, she comes across another clan of mythical creatures in his secret werewolf pack. There she meets Emily Young, who is the fiancée to the leader of the pack, Sam Uley. Bella. When she meets Emily she calls her the “vampire girl,” to which she responds with the above line. 

Bella Swan: “Look, you gotta give me some answers.” Edward: “Yes. No. To get to the other side. Uh, 1.77245…” - Twilight 

It’s no secret Robert Pattinson’s Edward Cullen can be rather snarky throughout the Twilight movies, and he definitely is as Bella is trying to figure out his true identity. At one point, Bella flat-out asks for answers. Edward gets sarcastic by giving some common answers to things, especially since he’s not ready to tell her the truth on the subject. 

“I'm nearly one hundred and ten. It's time I settled down.” - Edward Cullen, New Moon 

Throughout most of the Twilight saga, Edward and Bella are contemplating forever as a couple. While Edward starts off rather resistant to the idea of Bella becoming a vampire and being with him for eternity, he does come around to it, quipping that he might as well settle down now that he’s over a century old. 

"Edward will be a good husband. I know this because I'm a cop. I know things. Like how to hunt somebody to the ends of the earth. And I know how to use a gun." - Charlie Swan, Breaking Dawn Part 1 

Billy Burke’s Charlie Swan is one of the highlight characters of the Twilight saga, as he often offsets all the vampire and werewolf drama for a more straight-shooter dad approach. One of his funniest moments comes during his speech at Edward and Bella’s wedding, where he lightly threatens Edward while talking about why he’ll be a good husband. 

"My monkey man." - Rosalie Hale, Twilight  

An especially memorable scene from the first Twilight movie is when Bella is invited to play baseball with the Cullens during a thunderstorm. As Bella witnesses a truly incredible game of the sport as the vampires fly through the air, one moment has Emmett climbing a tree to catch the ball. Rosalie commentates on the moment by calling her lover her “monkey man” in a very loving, but objectively funny way. 

“Let's face it, I am hotter than you.” - Jacob Black, Eclipse 

Ah, the Edward vs. Jacob matchup. Bella’s love triangle between the two boys really fuels the franchise throughout the movies and as the movies continue to unfold, it’s funny to see the two men take digs at each other. One especially good one is when Jacob Black tells Edward he is “hotter” than him, which is actually scientifically true since werewolf temperatures are higher than humans, while vampires are known in the franchise as the “cold ones.” 

How you likin' da rain, girl?" - Mike Newton, Twilight

In the first Twilight movie, Bella being the new girl in high school proves to make her instantly interesting to a number of guys. It makes for some awkward but quite funny moments, including this one where Mike Newton asks her if she likes the rain in a questionable accent as Eric is trying to ask her to prom. Ah, teen boys! 

Eric Yorkie: “La Push, baby… It’s… La Push.” Bella Swan: "Ok, I'll go if you stop saying that." -Twilight

Bella has to hold her own a lot as the new girl in school whom Jessica describes as being like a “shiny toy” to the other guys. In one memorable scene, Eric keeps calling one of the beaches “La Push, baby.” Bella gives a hilarious response back by calling him out, saying she’ll only go with him if he basically stops being annoying. 

Charlie Swan: “Are those graduation caps?” Renée Dwyer: “Ha! How creative” Charlie: “Or, weird.” - Breaking Dawn, Part 1 

In the first Twilight, when Edward shows Bella his gorgeous house, she notices a massive display of graduation caps over the years, since the Cullens have reached the milestones many times before. Then, in Breaking Dawn Part 1, ahead of Bella getting married, her parents notice it. While her mom brushes it off, Charlie hilariously calls out how “weird” it is. 

“Jake, you really do stink.” - Bella Swan, Breaking Dawn, Part 2 

Bella finally becomes a vampire in the last Twilight movie. When she does, she instantly notices how her friend (and werewolf) Jacob Black totally does smell! Prior, all the other vampires had made the same comment, so it’s a great full-circle moment. 

"It's the ... um ... Fluorescence." - Edward Cullen, Twilight

Bella starts to notice something fishy going on with Edward quite early into knowing each other, which totally throws the secret vampire off guard. In one scene, Bella comments on his eyes changing colors from the last time they spoke. Thrown off by the comment, Edward just says it’s the “fluorescence” and storms off. 

Jessica Stanley: "So, you think Bella's gonna be showing?" - Twilight, Breaking Dawn Part 1

When Edward and Bella get married in Breaking Dawn Part 1, her human friends have some funny commentary while attending the picturesque ceremony. What takes the cake is when Jessica asks her friends when they think Bella is showing. She is convinced she is pregnant since she’s getting married at the age of 18. 

"Hello, biceps. You know, anabolic steroids are really bad for you." - Bella Swan, New Moon  

Jacob Black goes through a huge transformation in New Moon as he becomes a werewolf. As Bella Swan notices her friend’s new look, she quips that steroids are really not good for him. Little does she know what’s really going on. But she’ll soon find out. 

“Stop trying to take your clothes off.” - Edward Cullen, Eclipse

Edward and Bella get plenty romantic and steamy throughout the Twilight movies, but in one awkward sequence in Eclipse, Edward straight up asks her to stop taking her clothes off because he doesn’t want to go there yet with their sexual intimacy. It gets to the point he is trying to make, but is bluntly funny as well. 

“Jacob, put your clothes on” - Charlie, Breaking Dawn, Part 2

Another funny quote in Twilight is when Jacob Black strips down in front of Charlie in the forest right before showing him he’s really a werewolf. Charlie has no idea what’s about to happen, so he says this line right before Jacob transforms in front of him to his big surprise. 

Twilight may be a thrilling romance, but all those quotes prove there are so many funny moments throughout the five movies as well! 

When movie and TV lovers think of queer icons, it’s likely that Kristen Stewart is one of the many stars who comes to mind. For years now, she’s supported and starred in fare that centers on people and themes that don’t conform to heterosexual norms. She’s most recently done that with her latest film, Love Lies Bleeding – an upcoming A24 production. Many would argue that the movie and others represent the progress that’s being made within Hollywood in regard to telling LGBTQ+ stories. However, while opening up about the future of queer storytelling, Stewart got honest about the changes she would still like to see. 

Kristen Stewart seems to be pleased that space has been carved out for “marginalized voices” to be heard through filmmaking. However, she believes there’s still improvement that can be made when it comes to one specific area. While speaking at the Berlin Film Festival (via Variety), she conveyed her hope that the industry will begin to make room for stories that aren’t “all about the reasons that they’re sidelined.” She opened up about her viewpoint, sharing the following sentiments: 

What the alum of the (queer-coded) Twilight franchise appears to be conveying is that there’s more to the experiences of LGBTQ+ individuals than any struggles they face. Many surely face prejudice and more during their day-to-day lives, but that’s not what defines their experiences. When it comes to filmmaking, there are plenty of more nuanced stories to tell in this regard that don’t simply emphasize discrimination, forbidden loves or elements like those. To be clear, the Spencer star isn’t aiming to denigrate any films that fall into that category, as they absolutely do still signify steps in representation. Amid the film festival, she actually spoke about being part of the cast of Happiest Season, the 2020 yuletide rom-com:

Following its theatrical release, the film did prove to be a hit amongst Hulu subscribers, and deservedly so. Still, Kristen Stewart makes good points about the value of expanding the narrative real estate that’s available for queer cinema. As her comments suggest, she’s looking to expand the big-screen horizons and seemingly avoid a sense of preachiness:

The positively received Love Lies Bleeding seems to be a firm step in the right direction. There is a queer romance at the center of it, but it’s not about the two central characters (played by Kristen Stewart and Katy O'Brian) being chastised for their love per say. It’s about the two navigating romance while grappling with themes of violence and familial ties, which any couple whether hetero or homosexual can identify with. The thriller looks like it’s going to be a gripping piece of cinema that I’m aiming to see. I also hope that Stewart as well as other filmmakers are given the opportunity to tell similarly complex tales of queer people moving forward.

Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson broke up over a decade ago, however, the public’s fascination with the Twilight stars’ relationship remains. While Stewart married Dylan Meyer in late 2023, and Pattinson and his partner Suki Waterhouse are about to be parents, there’s still chatter about the actors’ relationship from all those years ago. Now, the Bella actress is getting real about the sustained attention, and let’s just say she didn’t hold back.

While promoting her film on the 2024 movie schedule, Love Lies Bleeding, Stewart got real about her life in the spotlight with Rolling Stone. Of course, that included her candidly speaking about the Twilight craze and all the attention her relationship with her co-star Robert Pattinson received.  The journalist explained that the actress bought her home as a way to “hide” from the paparazzi in the time following her breakup with The Batman star. It noted that she understood why people were and are fascinated with that relationship, however, at the same time, the Spencer actress said:

As I said, Breaking Dawn Part 2 came out over a decade ago, marking the end of the Twilight films, and its stars broke up in 2013. 

Since then, they’ve both become indie darlings, and they have starred in films that have brought them great acclaim. In 2021, Stewart was in the Oscar race for her turn as Princess Diana in Spencer. Meanwhile, the next year, Robert Pattinson became a superhero in Matt Reeves’ The Batman. 

Now, they’re both looking to have a great 2024 with Stewart’s body-building thriller Love Lies Bleeding set to come out on March 8, and Pattinson’s collaboration with Bong Joon-ho, Mickey 17, expected to be released sometime in the next year. 

When it comes to their personal lives, both actors are in long-term relationships, so it makes sense why Stewart finds this attention surrounding her and Pattinson “fucking weird.”

After two years of dating, Stewart and her partner Dylan Meyer got engaged in 2021. At the time, the Twilight star said “we’re marrying,” and in 2023, they officially tied the knot. Meanwhile, Pattinson and Suki Waterhouse got engaged at the end of last year, and now they’re expecting their first child. Rumors about his relationship with the Daisy Jones and The Six star began in 2018, and in 2019 their relationship was confirmed. We’ve still got a couple of months before Kristen Stewart’s new movie Love Lies Bleeding hits theaters, but the LGBTQ+ romantic thriller is already making waves. After its trailer dropped, fans expressed their excitement over seeing the Twilight star — who recently explained how the vampire series is queer-coded — in another openly gay role, and since the movie is being produced by A24, anticipation for the bodybuilder thriller is pretty high. Love Lies Bleeding premiered at Sundance Film Festival on January 20, and now we’ve got our first look at the critics’ reactions.

Let’s start with what we know about Love Lies Bleeding. In Rose Glass’ second directorial effort, Kristen Stewart stars as Lou, a gym manager who falls for Katy O’Brian’s Jackie, an ambitious bodybuilder. Their love leads them into a world of crime with Lou’s father (also Lou, played by Ed Harris) and revenge. Deadline reports that the film elicited hoots, hollers and cheers from the Sundance audience, as Valerie Complex notes the electric toxicity of the leading couple. The critic writes: 

Matthew Creith of The Wrap calls Kristen Stewart a “powerhouse,” and says Katy O’Brian sinks her teeth into her meaty role. It’s clear, the critic says, that Rose Glass delights in making audiences squirm, writing: 

Owen Gleiberman of Variety says the lead actress shows vulnerability — a pivot from her typically cool façade — in a film that encapsulates the noir requirements of compulsive love and the crimes that get in the way of it. Gleiberman continues: 

Kate Erbland of IndieWire grades Love Lies Bleeding a B, saying audiences won’t be able to look away from this film — even when they want to — in Rose Glass’ ambitious project that is equally alluring and repellant. Erbland says: 

David Rooney of THR says there’s not an ounce of restraint in this film, and the way Rose Glass keeps upping the ante on just how extreme the movie can be makes it perfect for A24. This hallucinatory trip is sure to be a talker, Rooney says, writing: 

Love Lies Bleeding sounds like a violent and wholly unsettling experience, albeit with an intense relationship between Kristen Stewart and Katy O’Brian’s characters that’s sure to attract more than a few moviegoers. Kristen Stewart’s range when it comes to movie roles rivals many other actresses. She’s done indie hits like Adventureland and Personal Shopper, franchise films like the Twilight series, and she was even one of the key leads of the Charlie’s Angels remake. She has certainly enjoyed making more films than others, and apparently Charlie’s Angels was one that didn’t quite land with the Oscar nominee. Stewart recently opened up about why she ended up starring in the ill-fated 2019 film, and how she ultimately ended up “hating” the experience. 

In a recent interview with Variety, the Spencer actress got real about some of her acting choices during the course of her career. The publication tasked her to guess what movies some of her lines were from, and one particular line ended up stirring less-than-positive memories for the actress. For context, the line in question was “Did you know that it takes men an additional seven seconds to perceive a woman as a threat compared to a man?” which was the opening line from Charlie’s Angels, and is said by Stewart in the film. She remembered the line, and said of the movie:

It’s really hard to recapture the magic of the original Charlie’s Angels film, and the cultural impact the action film had at the time. If Stewart was such a big fan of the source material, it makes sense why she would want to be a part of that world in some way, especially considering the 2019 version was helmed by a female director in Elizabeth Banks. Charlie’s Angels ended up getting mixed reviews from critics, and didn’t exactly live up to the legacy of the original, so it makes sense that Stewart may have some regrets about starring. 

With the negative Charlie’s Angels experience as context, it seems to have directly impacted the kinds of movies Stewart has chosen since making the film. She hasn’t done a major studio action movie since, and doesn’t seem to have any plans to. Her next film is Love Lies Bleeding, which is an indie romantic thriller from A24. She has seemingly prioritized more arty, director-driven projects rather than the franchise work she’s done in the past. 

Charlie’s Angels may not be the direct catalyst for her more recent acting choices, but knowing that she hated working on the film definitely says something about Stewart’s own personal taste. She didn’t go into details about why she may have hated making the film, but her love of the original may have prevented her from embracing a new vision for the IP. Who knows if someone will green light a sequel to Charlie's Angels, but if they do, I don’t think Stewart will want anything to do with it.

She got a lot of flak for the melodramatic Twilight saga at the time, but the actually awesome Kristen Stewart is seemingly revisiting that insanely popular vampire series with a fresh perspective: namely, that Twilight is "such a gay movie."

A then-teenaged Stewart, of course, became a household name after starring as Bella Swan in the five-film romantic fantasy franchise, opposite her co-star and famous ex Robert Pattinson as hunky vamp Edward Cullen. 

And while the now-adult actress has definitely put her "young and stupid" Twilight days of swooning over sparkly vampire skin far behind her where career is concerned—Stewart snagged the prestigious César Award for her work in Clouds of Sils Maria and earned an Oscar nomination for her acclaimed performance as the late Princess Diana in Spencer—she did recently acknowledge Twilight's surprising "gay inclinations" during an interview with Variety:

That "Mormon woman" that Stewart is referencing is author Stephanie Meyers, who penned the four novels in the Twilight book series on which the films are based. Much of the story centers around the forbidden romance between human Bella and vampire Edward and how her feelings for him—as well as for werewolf Jacob, played by the aforementioned Taylor Lautner—cause seismic shifts in both their worlds. 

Though both the onscreen and offscreen coupling between Stewart and Pattinson was of the heterosexual sort, the actress memorably came out as "so gay" while hosting Saturday Night Live in 2017. During her opening monologue, Stewart addressed Donald Trump, who was very strangely upset about her heavily publicized breakup from Pattinson five years prior and frequently took to Twitter to criticize the film star. She famously told him: 

In the fifteen years since Twilight premiered, Stewart has publicly embraced her queerness, from starring in lesbian rom-coms to wanting to play a gay superhero to being seen out-and-about with her fiancée, screenwriter-actress Dylan Meyer, at industry events like the Academy Awards and the Los Angeles of the Hulu docuseries Living for the Dead, which Stewart executive-produced. 

As for being more open and candid about her personal life, Stewart told Variety:

A24 has released some of the biggest films of the last few years. Everything Everywhere All At Once won the Academy Award for Best Picture. Some of the best horror movies have hailed from A24. And even the 2023 release of The Iron Claw is getting plenty of praise. 

Now, A24 is planning its next release with Love Lies Bleeding, a romantic thriller that is releasing soon. But who's going to star in this film? And what is it going to be about? For all the questions you could have, here is what we know so far about Love Lies Bleeding. 

What Is The Love Lies Bleeding Release Date?

According to Deadline in December 2023, Love Lies Bleeding has a release date of March 8, 2024. It will come out as part of the 2024 movie release schedule. 

March 2024 is already filled with plenty of films being released, from Dune: Part 2, which will finally come out after getting delayed thanks to the SAG-AFTRA strike, to the next Ghostbusters film, Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire. A24 entering the ring with their next flick will give us even more to look forward to. 

Kristen Stewart And Katy O'Brien Will Star

It was announced in April 2022 by The Hollywood Reporter that Kristen Stewart would be the main star in Love Lies Bleeding. Then, in June 2022, Katy O'Brian was confirmed by Deadline to be a part of the cast. 

It was later confirmed in that Deadline article above regarding the release date that these two would be the film's main stars and the primary focus. They will play Lou and Jackie, a gym manager and bodybuilder. 

Both of these actors are great picks for the stars of this film. Kristen Stewart's best films have included movies such as Spencer, the Twilight franchise, Happiest Season, Still Alice, and many more. Katy O'Brian began her career in martial arts but has expanded into acting in the last decade. She appeared in the third season of The Mandalorian and was a part of the main cast of Z Nation. 

Truthfully, these two make the most sense, as I can see them rocking these roles.

Anna Baryshnikov, Dave Franco, Ed Harris, And Jena Malone Co-Star

Besides Kristen Stewart and Katy O'Brian, multiple other actors have been announced for Love Lies Bleeding. The Deadline article regarding O'Brian's casting confirmed that Dave Franco, Ed Harris, and Jena Malone would co-star in the film. Also confirmed by Deadline in June 2022 was that Anna Baryshnikov signed on for the movie. 

All of these actors have done such fantastic work. Dave Franco has appeared in a variety of films during his time as an actor, including 6 Underground, The Rental, Zola, Day Shift, and more. He even had a role in one of the best Apple TV+ shows The Afterparty, as Xavier. 

Anna Baryshnikov is most prominently known for her role in Manchester By the Sea and in Dickinson on Apple TV+. Jena Malone has been in several major films such as The Hunger Games movies, Pride & Prejudice, Sucker Punch, and Antebellum, and appeared in the 2023 Netflix release Rebel Moon: Part One – A Child of Fire. 

Ed Harris is a well-known actor who almost has too many credits to count. His most known roles include The Hours, The Truman Show, Apollo 13, Nixon, A Beautiful Mind, Snowpiercer, Mother!, Top Gun: Maverick, and many more. So that gives you an idea of how talented this cast truly is.

Love Lies Bleeding Is About A Bodybuilder And A Gym Owner Falling In Love

Love Lies Bleeding is an A24 film like no other. From the official A24 press website, the movie follows the story of a gym manager and an aspiring bodybuilder falling in love. However, that love soon turns violent when their relationship ends up involving Lou's family, who are known to commit crimes. 

Katy O'Brian talked about the movie in an interview with Bol News in February 2023, saying that the movie was a "love thriller" and that only their director would have come up with the direction the film goes in:

Rose Glass Directed The Film

A24 confirmed that Rose Glass directed the film. Glass has only directed one other feature-length film before, but it's a doozy – Saint Maud. 

For those that don't know what Saint Maud is, it's hands down one of the best A24 horror movies and is such a slow burn horror that it makes you feel so uncomfortable in the best way. 

Honestly, I'm excited to see what she does with Love Lies Bleeding because it feels like such a significant genre shift, but I have faith in her – especially after the way O'Brian spoke of her in the interview. 

Love Lies Bleeding Will Be Rated R

The last thing about Love Lies Bleeding is that it will be Rated R, which isn't a big surprise. It's pretty rare when an A24 film isn't rated R, as they tend to have pretty mature topics of discussion, but that means that the film will likely have plenty of action and romance for adults – which means I'm here for it. 

What are you excited about when it comes to Love Lies Bleeding? All I know is that I'm eager to see where this romance goes – and how bad it just might turn out by the end of this romance thriller. 

Every Hollywood celebrity has their fans, but some are more passionate than others. Kristen Stewart has certainly built one of those fan bases, as the first trailer for Love Lies Bleeding is here, and fans are over the moon. It turns out that nothing gets people more excited than an openly gay Kristen Stewart covered in blood.

Kristen Stewart's new movie sounded compelling on paper, when it was placed on the 2024 movie schedule, but the first look is pretty great. The trailer for Love Lies Bleeding sets up Stewart as the estranged daughter of some sort of criminal who's wanted by the FBI, played by Ed Harris. Katy O’Brian plays the muscular woman that Stewart’s character falls for. Then the dark side of her family gets involved, leading the new couple to have to fight for their lives. Honestly, that sounds like a pretty great setup. I’m ready to see it, and so are a lot of fans.

Love Lies Bleeding looks to be as dark and brutal as that title suggests, but it has an incredible cast, and it’s from A24, which has a track record of incredible films, even when they’re not A24 horror movies. If you like movies about physically strong women kicking ass, and it seems many people do then you’re probably in good shape...

January is usually a time when studios release movies that they’re not sure what else to do with. Tentpole movies get released in the summer or the holiday season. Potential award winners come out at the end of the year. Horror films come out in the fall. Love Lies Bleeding is maybe a movie that is hard to categorize, but fans find the movies they’re looking for whenever they get released, and it looks like this movie already has big fans… 

For a long time, we wondered if Kristen Stewart would be able to shake the stigma, and the fandom, that came with the Twilight franchise. I think we can agree without question she has successfully done that. While nobody is ever going to forget her role in those films, she has chosen characters in the years since then, as well as shown incredible ability in those roles, that have built an entirely new fanbase. Stewart even nabbed an Oscar nomination. This is exactly the sort of movie people want from Kristen Stewart it seems: 

Honestly, I’ve become a pretty big Kristen Stewart fan over the last few years, and I’m right there with these people. Love Lies Bleeding looks like a great movie for her, and hopefully just a great movie in general. We’ll find out when it hits theaters next month.

The Super Bass-O-Matic '76

“Super Bass-O-Matic ’76” is a beloved sketch written by Dan Aykroyd, who revealed to The Food Channel that the faux infomercial in which the Not Ready For Primetime Player liquidates a whole fish, bones and all, was inspired by his aunt’s own methods for preparing such a meal. Outside of the shocking technique itself and its unappetizing results, the truly funniest thing about this product is, arguably, that it is no different from a common blender.

Happy Fun Ball

With a name like "Happy Fun Ball," one would assume that this shiny, red ball is a perfectly wholesome toy for all ages. However, once this faux ad reaches its warning disclaimer, it becomes clear that no soul should ever go near this cursed thing. 

Bag O'Glass

On a holiday edition of a program called Consumer Probe, the host (played by longtime Five-Timers Club member Candice Bergen) is reviewing products from Mainway Toys’ with shady company president, Irwin Mainway (Dan Aykroyd). The clearly inappropriate and potentially hazardous toys include a doll that ejects a sharp blade from its arms and a teddy bear that doubles as a chainsaw, but the (darkly) funniest item has to be “Bag O’Glass,” which is exactly what it sounds like it is.

Colon Blow

Late, legendary ‘90s SNL cast member Phil Hartman plays a man introduced to a cereal aptly named Colon Blow, as it contains 30,000 times the amount of fiber you would get from an average bowl of cereal. Just when he thinks the literal pyramid of cereal bowls he is balancing on could not get higher, the announcer tells him about Super Colon Blow, which equates to two-and-a-half-million bowls of Hartman’s preferred brand in fiber content.

Almost Pizza

Bill Hader plays a man who assumes his wife (played by Kristen Wiig) has baked a pizza for dinner, but grows increasingly concerned when she tells him it is not really pizza, but “Almost Pizza.” It is never revealed what the product actually is, but it is most definitely not edible, appears to have a mind of its own, and was distributed by Pfizer.

Toilet Death Ejector 

In one of John Mulaney’s best SNL sketches (not counting his musical skits), he points out how embarrassing it must be when elderly people die on the toilet before introducing a solution: the Toilet Death Ejector. Just push a button on the side right as your final moment approaches and it will (hopefully) launch you right into bed before dropping an acclaimed book near you for a more dignified place to be found by a loved one.

Mom Jeans

It’s funny how a certain style of a certain article of clothing can be so closely associated with a certain demographic, such as high-waisted jeans with mothers. However, as writer and star Tina Fey revealed to Jess Cage on Sirius XM, she wasn’t even a mother when she came up with the “Mom Jeans” sketch, which was inspired by a “really unfortunate pair of jeans” she bought at J. Crew on Studio 8H’s writing night.

Wells For Boys

While some young boys like to play catch with their friends or go on bike rides, others may want to spend their days contemplating their inner thoughts and feelings, which is what this Well playset is for. The commercial, starring Academy Award winner Emma Stone as the central boy’s mother, also highlights more from Fisher Price’s Sensitive Boys line, including a balcony for making announcements and a broken mirror for reflecting on their inner complexities.

CNN Pregnancy Test 

CNN is devoted to keeping you constantly updated about a certain developing topic even when they do not have any new information to provide. SNL poked fun at this habit with a faux ad for a digital pregnancy test developed by the cable news channel that takes a really long time to give hopeful parents their results but keeps them updated on its lack of an answer all the way through.

Nelson's Baby Toupees

A lack of hair is nothing that an infant should be worried about, but according to this fake ad from SNL’s 31st season, it is just as concerning as male pattern baldness. Thus, Nelson’s Baby Toupees have been developed to help babies achieve the confidence they are not old enough to acknowledge by giving them the hair they won’t need for years.

Duolingo For Talking To Children 

In his faux ad, Academy Award nominee and Twilight movies star Kristen Stewart plays a woman who embarrasses herself trying to speak to a child. This leads her to turn to an edition of language learning software Duolingo specifically designed to help non-parents relate to their younger peers.  

Undercover Office Potty 

For anyone who ever felt they lost valuable time at work due to restroom breaks, the Undercover Office Potty offers a solution to discreetly relieve yourself without ever leaving your desk. However, the smell emitting from the portable toilet disguised as a lamp turns out to be not so subtle, especially when you crowd your desk with them like Beck Bennett’s office worker in this faux ad.

GE Big Boy Home Appliances 

Kitchen appliances and cleaning materials are not typically marketed toward men, but, to keep up with changing times, General Electric intends to change that in this sketch starring Jason Momoa and his smoldering eyes. The company’s line of “Big Boy” Home Appliances includes a dishwasher with a 70-pound steel door, a six-foot-tall washing machine, and a vacuum you can ride like a lawnmower.

Brownie Husband

Tina Fey stars in this ad for a new product from Duncan Hines created for single women looking for more than just a nice evening dessert. With Brownie Husband, in 90 seconds, you can have the man of your heart (and your stomach) desires. 

Santi-Wrap 

This bit from SNL’s second season takes the concept of using toilet seat covers over tissue for sanitary protection and applies it to sitting on a department store Santa’s lap. Laraine Newman plays a woman who actually starts placing tissues on the lap of John Belushi’s boozy Santa before her husband (played by Dan Aykroyd) tells her she should use “Santi-Wrap” instead.

24-Hour Energy For Dating Actresses

At a time when people began taking 5-Hour Energy Shots to just make it through a workday, SNL introduced the idea of a shot that gives the consumer a full 24 hours. However, the faux ad that accompanies the product is targeted toward men who cannot match the energy of their partners, who act for a living.

Swiffer Sleepers 

Household chores cut in significantly with the time you could be spending with your children, which is where “Swiffer Sleepers” come in. Amy Poehler stars in this Season 28 bit as a mother who is able to make the kids clean the floor (and elsewhere), and have fun doing it, by rolling around in special pajamas from the makers of the Swiffer Sweeper.

Starbucks Verismo

This ad imagines what might happen if Starbucks developed a home coffee maker that replicates the experience of ordering from one of its locations as authentically as possible. It seems to work a little too well, based on how Vanessa Bayer’s character, Martha, discovers the name “Amorfa” written on her mug and receives tea instead of the latte she wanted.

The Love Toilet

For the most inseparable couples who take pleasure in doing literally everything together, The Love Toilet is just what their bathroom is missing. The massive, dual-bowl porcelain throne even comes with just one flushing plunger so both partners can go together at the same time.

Closet Organizer

Out of the many potential methods to organize your closet, one of the more unlikely is hiring a living person dressed in a blue jumpsuit (played here by Will Forte) to frantically scramble to put away whatever you literally throw at him. This sketch was actually referenced in a later sketch from the same episode where a bar patron (played by host and then Mad Men cast member Jon Hamm) recognizes a stranger as “the Closet Organizer guy.”

Amazon Echo Silver 

Because the virtual assistant is a technology still somewhat in its infancy, it is perfectly understandable why older people may have a challenging time adapting to an invention that has only existed for a small chunk of their lifetime. Therefore, the Amazon Echo Silver — a version of the device specifically designed for elders that conveniently answers to names just close enough to “Alexa” — actually sounds like a thoughtful idea.

Alan

In this SNL Season 40 sketch that was originally cut for time, a married couple (played by Taran Killam and Vaness Bayer) is gifted with the “future of casual entertainment”, a human-like dancing robot in a clear box referred to as “The Alan” (host Bill Hader). However, they more learn about this already confusing product, the more difficult it is to be entertained by it.

Mom Celebrity Translator 

A device that helps decipher the celebrity your mom is attempting to name is the kind of fake SNL product we imagine a lot of viewers wished was real when the sketch first aired during Season 34. The concept is already hilariously relatable enough, but the mispronounced names featured — such as “Kite Carbinaw” instead of Kim Kardashian or Jake Gyllenhaal wrongly identified as “Joe Geronimo” — make it even better.

Dissing Your Dog

Dale Sturtevant (Will Ferrell) introduces a revolutionary new puppy training program based on the belief that canines are more receptive to sarcasm and put-downs than we might assume and can be conditioned out of certain behaviors that way. If only it was that easy.

Beta Force

At first, this sketch appears to be a faux ad for a testosterone supplement that is refreshingly and brutally honest about its negative psychological effects on middle-aged men. That is until you learn it is actually meant to promote a different supplement called Beta Force, which is designed to counteract those effects and, thankfully, make the user his old self again.

Leave Me Alurn

Rachel Brosnahan stars in this ad for a fake urn of a loved one’s ashes that can help dispel unwanted attention during nature walks. We can only imagine how the writer of this sketch came up with such a dark — but, admittedly, ingenious — idea.

My Little Stepchildren

There are many dolls that are intended to be a fun way for children to imagine being a loving parent. However, this bit that was unfortunately cut for time gives children to live out their fantasy of being a wicked step-parent.

Abilify For Candidates

This ad for a faux medicine called Ability for Candidates first aired in 2015, during the early stages of the 2016 Presidential election. The pill in question is meant to help politicians gain a more realistic perspective on their chances of getting into the White House.

Levi Wokes

Gender-neutral clothes would become common by the time this Season 43 sketch took the concept to a whole new level by introducing Levi Wokes. The revolutionary jeans do not just aim for specific gender conformity but conform to any social identity you could think of by coming in one size and one color, featuring a 180-degree zipper, and selling the pockets separately.

Aerotoilet

When a party host (Moon Knight cast member Oscar Isaac) worries about the number of guests using his bathroom, his wife (Kate McKinnon) tells him they can use their Aerotoilet. The inflatable toilet seems to be a dream come true until it proves to be more high maintenance than a real toilet.

Wilson Trap Doors 

Everyone has had a moment at some point in which they wish they could just get rid of someone with the push of a button and Wilson Trap Doors provides that kind of relief. As the faux ad demonstrates, other trap doors can come with numerous design flaws, but this one is guaranteed to put your enemies away for good and without any mishaps.

Glitter Litter Automatic Litter Factory

For anyone who ever wished they could find a use for their cat’s droppings, the Glitter Litter Automatic Litter Factory is just what they have been looking for. This cut-for-time bit imagines a device that immediately converts kitty litter into shiny wearable jewelry.

Come to think of it, some of SNL’s best fake commercials might make for good entrepreneurial ideas.

Recently, the actor has been back in the public eye hosting a wellness podcast called The Squeeze with his wife, who is also now named Taylor Lautner. He also made a surprise appearance in Taylor Swift’s “I Can See You” music video over the summer. Let’s go back in time and talk through the full story behind Lautner’s Twilight casting… and recasting. 

How Taylor Lautner Was Cast In Twilight 

Taylor Lautner got started in Hollywood at the age of 9, appearing in television roles and voiceover opportunities on animated shows like Danny Phantom, Duck Dodgers and What’s New, Scooby Doo? The actor scored his first big movie role in 2005 when he starred in Robert Rodriguez’s The Adventures of Sharkboy and Lavagirl in 3D before also finding a role in Cheaper By The Dozen 2, starring Steve Martin. 

While speaking on The Squeeze earlier this year, Lautner shared that between the ages of 13 and 16, he “couldn’t book a job” and had had come to the conclusion in his mind that if he didn’t get anything by the end of the school year, he was going to “hang it up.” But then he was given the opportunity to screen test for two movies on the same day: Disney’s Race To Witch Mountain starring Dwayne Johnson, and Twilight, the latter of which he was much less excited about booking. Here’s what Lautner shared about what happened: 

Lautner would go on to play the small role of Jacob Black in the first Twilight alongside Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson. Of course, the real meat of the character takes place after the first Twilight, and when the sequel was greenlit, another director was hired to helm New Moon. 

That Time Taylor Lautner Was Going To Be Recast For New Moon

The Twilight actors apparently didn’t sign multi-movie contracts because when it came time for New Moon, Taylor Lautner’s role in the franchise went up in the air. While speaking to the Good Guys Podcast in October, the actor shared he had yet to be hired for the sequel. In his words: 

As Lautner shared unprompted, the actor decided to transform his body in preparation for playing out Jacob Black’s werewolf arc even though he had not been confirmed to return, which he would go on to call a “nightmare.” Taylor Lautner said that it was his father who actually sat him down and convinced him to take the initiative. Even so, Lautner got a call that he was going to be recast. Now let's get into how he turned it around. 

How Taylor Lautner Got His Role Back

Taylor Lautner shared that he “kind of saw” the recasting coming considering the shape he was in Twilight would not be up to par with who Jacob Black turns into. So when his representation got the call about the studio’s decision, they apparently asked if they had seen Taylor recently and agreed to see him about New Moon. Here’s what happened next, per Lautner: 

Lautner was understandably frustrated with the recasting search after he had put in months of work to bulk up. As the actor continued: 

Kristen Stewart helped advocate for Lautner’s return, and ultimately he won the role once again against a host of jacked-up talent, who he said were significantly older than him. 

What Taylor Lautner Learned From Almost Being Recast In Twilight

When Lautner returned to the Twilight franchise, the actor recalled heading to the set of New Moon “ready to prove” himself after almost being booted from the movie. On the plus side, because Lautner and what sounds like the rest of the main Twilight cast were not signed to five-picture contracts, they had the chance to renegotiate a few times during the franchise’s run. As Lautner said:

Dollar signs aside, Lautner learned a lot about himself after starring in the Twilight franchise. Aside from experiencing the downsides of fame early in his life, he realized he often felt a sense of “desperation” when it came to his career. In the years following his massive Twilight role, he decided to reframe from putting all his “self worth” into his career to focusing on other elements of his life, and that led to him meeting his wife and getting to the place he is now. 

The 31-year-old is now happily married and has a successful podcast with his wife. While he’s shared interest in playing Twilight’s Jacob again, he’d only do so with a “trim and healthy” body rather than what he put his body through before, and it sounds like it certainly wouldn’t be his first priority.
