Lacey Chabert is no doubt one of the queens of Hallmark. She started the year with Lost in Paradise and will be ending the year with a trip to Disney World. She’s one of a handful of actors who I know will be in at least one movie every year, whether it’s a Christmas tale or a feel-good summer romance. And true to character, Chabert is in not one, but two upcoming Hallmark projects.

But before she dons some Mickey Mouse ears, she’ll be heading to one of the most romantic places in the world. After we celebrate Christmas in July with a selection of the channel’s most festive films, get ready to travel with Chabert to Europe, where I suspect she’ll find some romance. The various projects have given the actor opportunities to explore new places, which she gushes about in a BTS teaser for Hallmark+.

For the last few years, we’ve been seeing Hallmark films on location more and more. We’ve gotten to go all around the world, even with the channel’s mystery films. This allows fans to travel with the characters while never having to leave the couch. And with Chabert’s upcoming series, we’ll get to see Chabert pretty in pink and looking for love in Paris.

The series, Paris is Always a Good Idea, will premiere on July 30. The series will have six episodes and is based on the book by Jenn McKinlay. The series also stars Scott Michael Foster, of ABC Family (now known as Freeform) legacy. The trailer teases a look at Chabert's Chelsea as she embarks on a journey to Europe where she plans to re-connect with three of her exes.

The teaser also shows fans a glimpses at the stunning locations she'll be traveling to. These include the vineyard of Spain, the stunning city of Paris, and the hills of Ireland as part of her quest. And of course, each new place features a charming potential love. One of the locations is teased by Chabert:

Another amazing place that Chabert has gotten to check out can be seen in Lost in Paradise, which premiered early this year. In it, we got to see some gorgeous location shots, and yes, she she really filmed in Fiji. The film also starred Pretty Little Liars’ Ian Harding, who played the other half of a duo that gets marooned on a deserted island. Chabert loves that part of her job includes traveling to "amazing" places and how these are incorporated into the films in a special way. She explains:

After we see her in Paris, we won’t have to wait long until we see Chabert again. Only this time, we’ll see her in Disney World with Travis Van Winkle. The movie, Holiday Ever After: A Disney World Wish Come True has already wrapped filming, and Chabert celebrated in the best way possible: by throwing a wrap party at Disney World for the cast. The movie is part of the upcoming 2026 TV schedule and is set to premiere as part of Countdown to Christmas later this year.

I'm excited to see Chabert in all of her adventures, though I'm still holding out hope for another Crossword Mystery with Brennan Elliot.

Summer may have barely kicked off this week but, in true Hallmark fashion, Lacey Chabert is already getting us excited for the holiday season. The latest of her upcoming Hallmark movies is Holiday Ever After: A Disney World Wish Come True, which was filmed on location at Walt Disney World. In anticipation for it, she took her castmates on all her favorite rides, and I have to highlight one unexpected pick.

Lacey Chabert Reveals Her Favorite Walt Disney World Rides

The cast for Holiday Ever After: A Disney World Wish Come True was announced earlier this month. Chabert is leading it (obviously), with Travis Van Winkle, Disney Channel alum Christy Carlson Romano, Bryce Durfee and Taegan Burns. On Instagram, Hallmark post a video of Chabert taking the group on her top five rides, and it's too delightful:

OK, so these are some pretty solid picks, overall. Chabert clearly likes her thrill rides, and I respect that there’s a mix of classic and new Walt Disney World attractions. However, noticeably, there are some all-time great attractions missing from that lineup, and I need to get into them. But, first, let's discuss what I think is her most surprising choice.

There's One Disney Pick I Don't Get

Obviously, Lacey Chabert is totally allowed to have her own opinions on when it comes to theme park rides, but Dumbo? This is such a hot take! The only thing I can excuse is that she had a memorable experience on the ride as a kid, and is nostalgic for it, because it’s kind of meh to me.

Plus, she picked it over a ton of better classic rides like Peter Pan’s Flight, Haunted Mansion and Pirates of the Caribbean. For context, Chabert also chose the Dumbo ride over newer favorites like Rise of the Resistance, Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind and Avatar: Flight of Passage.

I imagine Lacey Chabert got to spend a lot of extra time deciding on her top Walt Disney World picks while filming Holiday Ever After: A Disney World Wish Come True over the holiday season last year. We learned about the Disney World movie in December, and the Queen of Hallmark wrapped on the film back in January with fireworks. (because, of course). We don’t know exactly when the movie is being released yet, but it’s definitely going to be part of the robust Christmas movie lineup. It’s going to be so magical to see a Hallmark movie at the Most Magical Place on Earth!

And, while we wait for that, Lacy Chabert has also been working on a Hallmark miniseries set in Paris, France called Paris Is Always A Good Idea, which is coming out on Hallmark+ on July 30. I'm happy she's keeping us fed with a new show as I ponder her Walt Disney World movie... and theme park ride tastes.

We haven’t even hit the “Christmas in July” portion of the upcoming Hallmark movie schedule, but already I can’t stop thinking about the lovely holiday fare that will be served on the family friendly network later this year. That’s particularly because we already know that Lacey Chabert partnered with Disney World for what will certainly be one of the season’s most magical movies, and seeing her in Mickey Ears is giving me the best TGIF flashbacks.

Millennials will likely remember ABC’s Friday night block of shows like Full House and Family Matters from the ‘90s, and it was always such a treat when one of those series did a special episode from the Happiest Place on Earth. As Hallmark announced Lacey Chabert’s cast for this year’s Countdown to Christmas offering Holiday Ever After: A Disney World Wish Come True (what a mouthful!), I can’t help but be flooded with nostalgic feelings. OK, so technically Lacey Chabert wasn’t part of TGIF’s lineup back in the 1990s, but she was growing up alongside other young up-and-comers like Candace Cameron Bure, Jodie Sweetin, Ben Savage, Jaleel White and Melissa Joan Hart — all of whom filmed episodes of their respective series at Disney World.

Lacey Chabert came to fame as part of Party of Five on Fox, which aired from 1994 to 2000 and launched the careers of not just the would-be Hallmark queen but also Scott Wolf, Matthew Fox, Neve Campbell and Jennifer Love Hewitt. The series was definitely more drama than sitcom, but I still tend to lump it in with TGIF content when I think about my favorite ‘90s network TV shows.

Suffice it to say it was quite a treat to see Lacey Chabert in the Mickey Ears, finally getting that Disney World filming experience that so many of her peers had.

In addition to the Mean Girls actress, Holiday Ever After: A Disney World Wish Come True will also star Travis Van Winkle, Christy Carlson Romano, Richard Kind, Bryce Durfee, Taegen Burns and Asher Alexander.

The movie sees Lindsey (Chabert) vacationing with her family at Walt Disney World for Christmas, only to find that Philip (Van Winkle), a bad first date she recently had, is staying in the room next to hers. However, the Disney holiday magic warms the sentiment between the two in what sounds like a lovely enemies-to-lovers arc.

Filming wrapped earlier this year in the most Disney way possible — with a fireworks display — and I simply can’t wait for this one to hit the 2026 TV schedule this Christmas.

This isn’t the first time Lacey Chabert has injected nostalgia into the Countdown to Christmas. Back in 2023 she reunited with her Party of Five sibling Scott Wolf for A Merry Scottish Christmas (don’t worry, they played brother and sister again, not romantic leads), and Jennifer Love Hewitt has pitched herself to also share the screen with Chabert again in a future Hallmark movie.

As far as I’m concerned, there can never be too much ‘90s nostalgia in my Hallmark movies, so I’m definitely all for that. Keep an eye on the Hallmark schedule for its ever-changing slate of new movies. We’ve still got a few months before we’ll know exactly when to find Lacey Chabert getting her Disney on in Holiday Ever After: A Disney World Wish Come True.

Lacey Chabert has wrapped her Disney-themed movie, coming soon to Hallmark Channel for the holidays, meaning it’s time to think about her next Hallmark movie. The Queen of Christmas never seems to slow down, as she’s always working on something new. At the very least, a lot of her movies has her reuniting with either previous leading men or even former co-stars, and Jennifer Love Hewitt pitched an idea that I would love to see.

Before making waves on Ghost Whisperer, Criminal Minds, and 9-1-1, Hewitt starred in Fox’s Party of Five in the ‘90s alongside Chabert. Even though the show ended over 25 years ago, the cast still seems to keep in touch. Chabert has even worked with her former co-star Scott Wolf on a Hallmark project in the past. After Chabert and Hewitt previously had a sweet exchange over Hallmark Christmas movies, Hewitt took to her Instagram Stories to pitch herself to Chabert for a role, and Chabert is on board for it:

It seems like it’s been forever since Hewitt and Chabert did a project together, especially with Chabert putting most of her focus on Hallmark and Hewitt being busy with 9-1-1. So what better way for them to work together than a Hallmark movie? And not only that, but having them play sisters would certainly be fun to see. The early aughts icons working together again is a dream they both seem to have, and I need it now more than ever.

With Hewitt’s schedule being taken up by 9-1-1, she hasn't appeared in many other projects since joining the cast in 2018. It’s not impossible, though, as she can always film during hiatus. Plus, Hallmark does have a knack for hiring ‘90s and early aughts icons for films, whether they’re fully joining the network or it’s just a one-off. And it’s even better when a reunion is involved.

As for what a possible movie with the two of them could look like, the possibilities are endless. Obviously, it would have to center on two sisters, but beyond that, it’s really anyone’s guess. They could both be looking for love, one could be looking for love, one is going through a breakup, etc. There’s a lot of material that Hallmark could play around with, and I’m really hoping this follows through.

I just need Lacey Chabert and Jennifer Love Hewitt to do another project together, and now that they’ve shared their interest in it, I can’t stop thinking about it. Hopefully, Hallmark will come up with something in the near future, but knowing that both of them want more than anything to do a movie together and play sisters makes me think that it could be sooner rather than later. That’s the hope, at least.

I don’t know how she does it. Actress, mom and producer Lacey Chabert only just wrapped on her upcoming Hallmark movie set in Disney World, and yet she’s already ready to jet set again. This time, she’s heading to Paris for a limited series at the cabler based on the popular romance novel Paris Is Always A Good Idea by Jenn McKinlay.

Chabert first dropped the announcement on her socials, and I’m almost as obsessed with her bringing back Barbiecore pink as I am with the announcement itself. Take a look at her adorable video and her adorable sweater, below.

This won't be Chabert's first time overseas for a role. She previously starred in all of The Wedding Veil trilogy, not to mention Iceland's A Christmas Quest, A Christmas in Rome, and many more. Her recent movie Lost in Paradise filmed in Fiji.

While Chabert notes the project will be “coming soon,” I’m hoping the pink sweater is a color palette hint that we’ll be looking at spring or summer, which would coincide with the time of year people are longing to take Euro trips. We’ll have to wait and see if it's a hint or just a fun celebrity fashion moment, however, as Hallmark is only confirming “later this year” as of now. Better to hit the 2026 TV release schedule than 2027 no matter when it airs, I’d say.

One thing that’s interesting about Paris Is Always A Good Idea is that the book follows its lead character, a woman named Chelsea Martin, on a multi-country adventure. There’s a bunch of backstory we don't need to get into right now about grief and finding oneself again, but all you really need to know is that Chelsea (Lacey Chabert) will travel back to Europe to revisit a gap year she took as a younger woman and will spend time with men who had crossed her path during that original trip.

The book takes Chelsea on an adventure that encompasses not only Paris, but also Ireland and Italy. In the series, the travels will be a bit different, with Hallmark mentioning France and Spain in the official description for the project. Either way, it sounds as delicious as a croissant and espresso combo.

I’ve got the croissant at my disposal already, and a copy of the book should be easy. Paris is Always A Good Idea is only $10 bucks on Amazon right now, and it should be a nice, relaxing activity fans can dive into while we wait to see what the Queen of Hallmark does next. Obviously, we’ll keep you posted with more details, but it’s nice to know Ms. Chabert is keeping busy, and already has not one, but two, projects in the pipeline this year.

There’s never a bad time to visit Walt Disney World, but if there’s a best time to visit Walt Disney World, it’s probably during the holiday season. While it's frequently crowded, there’s just a totally different vibe in the air during that time of year. If you’ve never had a chance to visit the most magical place on earth during the holidays, however, you’ll get a chance to see it later this year when the first Disney World Christmas movie debuts on Hallmark Channel.

Holiday Ever After: A Disney World Wish Come True will be part of the cable channel’s slate this holiday season. It’s one of the very few films to actually be filmed inside a Disney resort, at least legally. It also appears to have been a great deal of fun to make, as a post to Instagram announcing that production had wrapped also indicates that, of course, Magic Kingdom hosted the wrap party.

As somebody who has been to both after-hours events at Walt Disney World, as well as occasional media events, I can say that nobody throws a party quite like Walt Disney World. I can also say that has somebody who covers theme parks for a living, and has had to be at Magic Kingdom while I was working, and thus couldn’t just go on rides whenever I wanted, it can be brutal to be so close to so much fun and not be able to just do it.

I’m sure the cast and crew of the upcoming Disney World Hallmark movie had a blast at the wrap party. If they truly had free rein over Magic Kingdom, then they got to experience the most popular theme park in the world in a way that few people get to experience it. Imagine being able to go on Tron: Lightcycle Run or Tiana’s Bayou Adventure with basically no line. Even if they didn't really get access to the whole park, being able to have fun at Disney World after working there for so long had to be nice for all involved.

Holiday Ever After stars genre mainstay Lacey Chabert and Travis Van Winkle as two people who go on a terrible blind date, and then discover they’re staying near each other during dueling Disney World family vacations. The bringing together of Walt Disney World and a romantic Hallmark movie feels like a perfect match. It’s almost shocking that such a thing had never happened previously.

I’m not usually much of a Hallmark Channel guy, but I love Walt Disney World, and I love Christmas movies, so I’ll certainly be checking this one out when it comes out later this year. I'm just bummed I can't use my Disney+ subscription.

Rachel McAdams has made a name for herself over the past couple of decades for projects like The Notebook and Spotlight, while Lacey Chabert has become the queen of Hallmark. However, these actresses may always be known best for starring in Mean Girls — one of the best movies of the 2000s. A strange thing happened recently, when they both released 2026 movies within weeks of each other, and we need to talk about how McAdams’ Send Help has the same plot as Chabert’s latest Hallmark offering, Lost in Paradise.

Send Help won the weekend box office when it premiered, as critics hailed Sam Raimi’s return to the horror genre (CinemaBlend’s review gave it 4 out of 5 stars). It’s been called a throwback to the Evil Dead era and the perfect companion movie to Rachel McAdams’ Red Eye, so how in the world could this gory, unhinged, homicidal survival horror have anything in common with one of Hallmark’s predictably quaint romances? I’m glad you asked.

Let’s Start With The Plots Of Send Help And Lost In Paradise

It’s wild that the actresses who played two of the Plastics in Mean Girls — Rachel McAdams’ iconic villain Regina George and Lacey Chabert’s Gretchen Wieners — would be starring in such wildly different movies that from their synopses sound like they could be the same film. In fact, when I started writing a different article about Send Help, I immediately got déjà vu from something I’d seen on the Hallmark movie schedule.

Just like Lost in Paradise, Send Help was described as two people getting stranded on a deserted island after a plane crash, with tension building as they work together to survive. After seeing both of the movies, I can confirm that of course the movies are wildly different in tone. One has way more blood, vomit and eye-gouging, while the other inexplicably throws in a shark and possible pirates. And that tension building between the two sets of castaways? Very different kinds. However …

Send Help Had Way More Similarities To Lacey Chabert’s Hallmark Movie Than I Was Ready For

I was surprised to find that there were some pretty notable similarities between the two movies. For instance:

• Both movies saw their characters traveling overseas for work when a storm caused their plane to go down. While Send Help’s Laura Liddle and Bradley Preston (Dylan O’Brien) had a pretty hostile employee-employer relationship, Lost in Paradise’s main couple, Sophia and Max (Ian Harding), were strangers.
• In both movies, the guys insist their best first move is to make a “HELP” sign out of branches on the beach, though only in Send Help does Bradley misspell his “HEPL.” Also, Bradley and Max both neglect to protect themselves from the sun and get burned, while Laura and Sophia do not (the Plastics would never).
• Both Laura and Max are Survivor super fans, with Rachel McAdams’ character having auditioned for the show and prepared extensively to survive in the conditions she finds herself in. However, despite claiming to have seen every episode, Lost in Paradise's male lead doesn’t contribute nearly as much to his and Sophia’s predicament.
• Laura and Sophia also both weave super-fetch hats out of plant fronds, and they each also fashion weapons that they use for spearfishing.

• Both Lost in Paradise and Send Help have a scene in which the man cooks a romantic dinner for his fellow island-dweller, with Laura and Sophia each trying to fancy up their look by sporting a tropical flower behind their ear. This works out better for Lacey Chabert’s character, as Max is a celebrated chef. Bradley, meanwhile, takes the opportunity to poison Laura and try to escape on his makeshift raft. Oh, that’s another similarity — both flicks include makeshift rafts that don’t work as well as intended.
• Sophia and Laura also end up letting their guard down, opening up to Max and Bradley, respectively, about why their previous relationships failed.
• Both women also have pets whose fates I questioned at one point or another in the movie. For Laura, it was a bird, who we see her reunited with at the end, while Sophia’s dog Gianni goes missing for longer than I was comfortable with during Lost in Paradise.
• This is a pretty big spoiler, so I’ll keep it semi-vague (and feel free to skip ahead), but in both movies the stranded couple ended up being a lot closer to civilization than they realized.
• Finally, both movies have a flash-forward sequence at the end that shows our leading ladies living their best lives after going through quite a transformation during their time as castaways.

Send Help Felt Like It Could Easily Have Slipped Into Rom-Com Territory

While Send Help was definitively a violent horror film that saw Bradley being personally victimized by Laura, there were several scenes where I thought they might just bond over their shared experience enough for romance to bloom. Critics validated my response in their reviews, with Eric Eisenberg writing for CinemaBlend that “the premise could easily veer into romantic comedy/drama territory.”

Mashable noted that “some scenes hint at an enemies-to-lovers arc, where, forced to survive together, Linda and Bradley find the good in each other, despite their differences,” while IGN’s critic wrote that, “From moment to moment, it’s never clear whether these two are going to kill or kiss each other.”

Hallmark Movies Sometimes Feel Like They Could Easily Veer Into Horror

The reverse is also true, and while I never really felt like Lacey Chabert’s character was in danger with Max, this wouldn’t be the first time I’ve found parallels between horror plots and Hallmark movies. In fact, Hallmark’s 2022 flick Love in the Villa started out surprisingly similar to that year’s horror hit Barbarian.

It’s one of those things you can’t overthink if you like Hallmark movies, because it can be really distracting to realize how easily some of those sweet romances could take a dark turn. During one recent Hallmark binge, my teenager was actually shouting horror movie-style at the woman on TV to, “Share your location!” as she was swept away by a sexy stranger for an adventure in an unfamiliar foreign land. It’s the Hallmark version of, “Don’t go in there!”

I am quite amused at the fact that Mean Girls queens Rachel McAdams and Lacey Chabert both have movies out now about being stranded with a guy on a deserted island, regardless of how different they actually are — especially because they’re more alike than you might think at first. Send Help is in theaters now, while Lost in Paradise can be streamed on Hallmark+.

I’ve been stoked for Lacey Chabert’s upcoming Hallmark movie collaboration with Disney World for weeks now. The Queen of Hallmark announced the network would be doing a holiday-themed flick set at Walt Disney World in Florida just a few weeks ago. Time passes fast, however, and production has already ended with quite the bang. Literally.

In fact, Lacey Chabert took to social media to celebrate the last day of filming Holiday Ever After: A Disney World Wish Come True. Yes, the flick's name is still decidedly a mouthful, but the premise sounds darling, and I'm even more excited after seeing the way this 2026 TV release wrapped. Her post was too cute to function, to paraphrase a Mean Girls quote. Take a look.

Yes, that’s right, on the last night of Holiday Ever After, the cast was treated to one Disney World signature: fireworks. It’s basically the most Disney way to celebrate, ever. Honestly, there are two ways to make any trip to Disney World even more magical. The first is to show up at rope drop, but the second, and the most preferred one for many families, is to stay through the fireworks after dark. It's even better when you can snag a dinner reservation and watch the fireworks in comfort.

Honestly, though, if you’ve been keeping tabs on production, it looks like the movie has been a blast for everyone involved. Writer-Director Ryan Landels made sure to do a bunch of “location scouting” with his family while on set.

Lacey Chabert had straight up told fans on the day her upcoming Christmas movie was announced that she had believed for a long time Disney World would make for the perfect setting for a Hallmark holiday movie. She's been a fan of the theme parks for ages, and her former Wedding Veil co-star Autumn Reeser once said Chabert is super passionate about taking her kids to Disney, and the theme parks in general. So, when the project finally did come to fruition, it makes sense she landed the leading lady slot opposite Travis Van Winkle as her co-star.

I don't know what it took to get Disney World on board, but filming does happen in the parks regularly. Plus, it should be great cross-promotion for the network and the theme park. We will have to wait until the end of the year, but I do think holidays with their decor and general vibe bring even more joy, and I'm excited to see a Christmas movie that's chock full of that feeling. Even if it means waiting a while. I just hope we keep getting more tidbits like this one in the meantime.

Lacey Chabert may have to change her nickname from the queen of Hallmark to the queen of the selfie, because it doesn’t look like there could have been too many members of the cast and crew who didn’t get a pic with the Mean Girls alum.

I love the glamorous photo she and Ian Harding took amongst the “wreckage” of their downed plane in the sixth slide, with the actor hitting Lacey Chabert’s hand-on-hip pose amidst washed up luggage and driftwood. It’s also fun to see the two with their stunt doubles, and it looks like they had an absolute blast together.

What surprised me was seeing the Hot Frosty actress back so soon after appearing on the 2025 Christmas schedule opposite Hallmark hunk Andrew Walker in She’s Making a List, as well as Haul Out the Halloween, the third installment of her Haul Out the Holly series, which made her feel like she was “cheating on Christmas.”

It’s obvious that the holidays mean so much to her, but to put out a third movie for the family friendly network in four months feels like a late Christmas present to all of her adoring fans.

On top of that, we already know we can count on seeing her when the holidays roll around again. Lacey Chabert has announced she’s partnering with Disney World for Holiday Ever After: A Disney World Wish Come True, which is coming to the 2026 Countdown to Christmas.

While that one might not be taking her overseas, I can only imagine she was just as excited about the opportunity to film in Orlando. I’m already thinking about what other locations future Holiday Ever After movies could take place in — assuming Hallmark goes the Holiday Touchdown route and turns this into a series.

For now, though, Lost in Paradise is available to stream on Hallmark+ after premiering on January 3. It will also re-air on Hallmark Channel at 6 p.m. ET Sunday, January 4, and at other times throughout the month.

I’ve known for a long time that Lacey Chabert is a Disney stan, as she was once shocked on air when one of her Hallmark co-stars said they refused to take their kids to Disneyland. Apparently, for years, she’s been pushing a big collaboration between the Disney theme parks and Hallmark, and the upcoming Hallmark schedule will finally see her dream come true. I'm certain 2026 is going to be a big year, and there's a lot to be excited about, but I just have to unpack this movie title before we get into details.

As you’ll notice, Ms. Chabert mentions the title of the movie in this post, and it is not for the faint of heart. The new movie – and drumroll – will be called Holiday Ever After: A Disney World Wish Come True. Yes, the “wish come true” part does seem to be a nod to Cinderella’s famous “the dream that you wish will come true” line, which is cute. Still, given the length and the blatant Disney branding, I’m giving this title a meh grade at best.

All in all, I’m really excited to see how the new movie plays out, and I assume using Holiday Ever After as a starter at the front of the movie name leaves the door open for several follow-up Holiday Ever After movies with a different addendum should this one be successful. I get it, truly. I just feel like we’ve gotten a little long with the movie titles of late, and Hallmark’s been doing it a lot more with movies in a series, such as the recently awkwardly worded Holiday Touchdown: A Bills Love Story.

Colloquially, we just refer to that one around the office as the Bills Hallmark movie, and I’m guessing the same thing will happen with this Chabert production. The Disney World Hallmark movie it is! Don't worry! That still has the Disney branding.

Despite my slight beef with the long name, the project is cool in several ways. In fact, it marks a few firsts for Hallmark and Lacey Chabert. It’s the “first” time the network has announced a new movie “a whole year ahead of schedule,” and we're getting hints about the 2026 TV schedule hyper early. It’s also a collab that has been on the actress’ bucket list for a long time, as she said in a second post she’d been the little birdie in Hallmark’s ear talking about a potential collaboration. It's very cool it finally worked out.

We don't know a ton about who will be joining her on her Disney escapade or what new Walt Disney World attractions will be highlighted, but I can't wait to learn more.

Hallmark's made a push to do more on-location movies recently, and the holidays are the most wonderful time of year for magic at Walt Disney World, so a team-up makes the most sense in the world. While I wouldn’t want to be the one figuring out the logistics of a hot set in a theme park (are they gonna film in the middle of the night?), this is definitely on my list of most hotly anticipated upcoming Christmas movies next year, title or no!

As When Calls the Heart fans prepare for the much-anticipated 13^th season on the 2026 TV schedule, they are coming together for a completely different reason that involves one of the stars, and they aren’t the only ones. After Erin Krakow revealed some baby news, Candace Cameron Bure, Lacey Chabert, and more rom-com stars were quick to respond.

The WCTH star shared on Instagram Wednesday morning that she and co-star and husband, Ben Rosenbaum, are expecting their first child. In a joint post, Krakow wrote, “So much to be grateful for!!!” alongside some sweet polaroids of the two of them showing off the sonogram. Of course, their dog got in on the action as well, wearing a “big brother” shirt, and I’m absolutely melting for multiple reasons:

This is an exciting time for the couple, who quietly tied the knot over the summer after meeting on the set of the long-running Hallmark Western romance. Plenty of friends, fellow rom-com actors, and WCTH co-stars made sure to share their well-wishes with the happy couple as they embark on another new chapter in their lives. I think it’s safe to say that Baby Krakow-Rosenbaum will make a great addition to the rom-com and Hallmark family:

I just love seeing my favorite rom-com actors interacting with each other, especially when it comes to news such as a pregnancy, engagement, marriage, or anything along those lines. And what makes it even better is seeing former Hallmark stars, such as Candace Cameron Bure, share a sweet response, as it shows that even though she’s not on the network anymore and has taken over GAF, she remains close to her Hallmark friends.

As previously mentioned, Erin Krakow and Ben Rosenbaum got married in June, and while their characters, Elizabeth and Mike, are not lovers, that didn’t seem to stop them from having their own love story. They are one of the few real-life love stories to come from When Calls the Heart, and it will be exciting to see that story continue with their own bundle of joy. And it seems like they are already so loved and have many aunts and uncles.

Meanwhile, this baby news couldn’t have come at a better time. Krakow revealed on Instagram in late October that filming has wrapped on When Calls the Heart Season 13, which is officially premiering on January 4 on Hallmark Channel. So Krakow will be able to rest and put most of her focus on the baby.

It’s a little early to predict what could happen if the show moves forward with a 14^th season, especially since Elizabeth and Nathan's relationship can be unpredictable, but Krakow will just have to cross that bridge if and when it happens. For now, it’s just an exciting time for her and Rosenbaum.

I think most people would agree that we are officially in what millions call “the most wonderful time of the year.” Though it’s roughly a month away, many are already in full-on Christmas mode (and have been for weeks), and fans have numerous upcoming Hallmark movies to thank for getting them in the spirit of the season. As usual, Lacey Chabert is among the 2025 Christmas movie schedule stars, and she recently revealed why the season and her many Hallmark holiday movies mean so much to her as a mom.

Why Is The Christmas Season So Meaningful For Lacey Chabert?

Look, you don’t make dozens upon dozens of Hallmark movies and not have warm and fuzzy feelings about their happy ending-focused films, so we all understand that former Party of Five star Lacey Chabert enjoys making these family-friendly films. The actress (who also starred in the surprisingly deep Hot Frosty, which you can see with a Netflix subscription) has made over 40 movies for Hallmark, and many take place during the Christmas season.

While talking about how a lot of people feel uplifted during Christmastime when being interviewed on The Kelly Clarkson Show, the host mentioned that “we didn’t have any money growing up” but that she and her family were able to get into the season by “buying twinkle lights,” making ornaments and doing other things that didn’t require a lot of cash so they “didn’t feel left out.” Chabert noted that the “ambiance” of the season is one of the things she loves and added:

Ah, yes. That ol’ Christmas magic. It’s a real feeling, but the older we get the more we have to work to make sure we can recapture that feeling year after year. The only real reason it seems so natural and automatic when we’re kids is because our parents (or whoever is caring for us) try really hard to make sure we feel that lightness of being during the season and like anything (Maybe Santa will bring me that pet monkey!) could happen.

It’s been many years now since the Mean Girls talent has been able to help adults feel the same way through movies like the famed Haul Out the Holly (which branched out into a franchise that now includes a Halloween movie), the delightfully dance-focused Christmas Waltz, and her reunion with Scott Wolf in A Merry Scottish Christmas. Chabert’s films truly never disappoint, so, let’s hope she’ll be able to help other adults, and children like her daughter, experience the magic of the holidays for many years to come.

Hallmark’s Countdown to Christmas schedule is in full swing, with new sprinklings of holiday spirit premiering weekly through the end of the 2025 TV schedule. Lacey Chabert will, of course, be making a showing, starring in She’s Making a List in December. This year, however, she started a little early with another offering, Haul Out the Halloween. I watched the third installment of Chabert’s holiday series, and I was delighted to catch a Mean Girls reference.

Lacey Chabert may be Hallmark’s Christmas queen, but she’ll likely never shake the role of Gretchen Wieners — her iconic character from 2004’s Mean Girls. The teen comedy is considered one of the best movies of the 2000s, and even two decades later, we’re still quoting Mean Girls every chance we get. I even caught what I'm convinced is a reference in Haul Out the Halloween, which premiered last month on the 2025 Christmas movie schedule.

In the Haul Out the Holly three-quel, Lacey Chabert’s Emily is forced to call on news anchor Ashlynn Ashworth (Ashley Whelon), a childhood frenemy (dare I call her a “mean girl”?) to help promote her neighborhood’s Halloween celebration. After Emily ends their conversation with an awkward, “Yeah, girl! Do your thing!,” her husband Jared (Wes Brown) asks, “'Do your thing, girl?' What was that?” Emily replies:

Hold on, did Lacey Chabert just say she turned into plastic? As in Gretchen Wieners, best friend of Regina George, head of The Plastics on Mean Girls? The moment almost got past me, but there are a ton of other phrases Emily could have said in that instance. Alas, she chose to reference the fake friendly quality of the North Shore High mean girl clique.

It’s a subtle reference, I’ll give you that. Definitely not as on the nose as when Jonathan Bennett — aka Mean Girls’ Aaron Samuels — quoted Gretchen in his Hallmark Christmas movie The Holiday Sitter. When his character woke up to his neighbor’s dog licking his face, he groggily told the beast:

Props for using the actual meaning of the word “fetch.”

This wasn’t the first time Lacey Chabert referenced the beloved 2004 film (which can be streamed with a Paramount+ subscription). In fact, when she was promoting Haul Out the Holly back in 2022, she referenced a famous exchange between Rachel McAdams’ Regina and Amanda Seyfried’s Karen.

It’s not just Hallmark movies that have contained Mean Girls easter eggs either. Lindsay Lohan included “Jingle Bell Rock” in her Netflix holiday movie Falling for Christmas a couple of years ago, as did Lacey Chabert on her own Netflix movie, last year’s Hot Frosty. That 2024 option included another fun reference, as her character seemed to recognize Lohan from somewhere …

It’s the most wonderful time of the year. The Christmas movie schedule is upon us, and I’ve already busted out a big bag of Jet Puffed marshmallows and my I Just Want To Drink Hot Chocolate And Watch Hallmark Movies All Day mug. I’ve also started consuming an inordinate amount of new Hallmark movies, as well. If you aren’t on the same page as me, the good news is there’s more brand new stuff this weekend. Still, I’m not sure if (or how) the network will top one I’ve already watched.

Do Watch: A Newport Christmas

If you’re a big fan of The Gilded Age, Hallmark hit up Newport, Rhode Island this season to give us our yearly fix when it comes to time travel romance. Hallmark has had some bangers over the years, including A Biltmore Christmas and A Timeless Christmas. I’m happy to state A Newport Christmas checks all the right boxes.

Ginna Claire Mason and Wes Brown start in this year’s higher profile time travel romance. Mason goes pretty theatrical with her spunky performance of a woman from Newport’s heyday being sent via sailboat to the future. Whilst there she encounters such highfalutin contraptions as the internet, electric Christmas lights, inflatable snowmen, and some societal changes, such as women wearing pants. But things turn a bit dire after she begins to fall for Nick, the man helping her to return to the past.

Hallmark often saves some of its best holiday scripts for heavy hitters like Lacey Chabert, Bethany Joy Lenz, Erin Krakow, Alison Sweeney and, of course, many more, but the pairing of the ever-popular Brown with the relative newcomer in Mason really worked for me. Mason has been doing one Christmas movie per year for Hallmark since 2022, but she’s most known for her theatrical work in Wicked and more. Hopefully, we'll see her around more on the network in the future.

Listen, I’m always a sucker for a time travel movie in general, but this one is significantly better than last year’s A ‘90s Christmas. In fact, I’ve already watched it twice, and I’m getting the feeling it may end up being my favorite holiday movie this year. That’s amazing given how early we are in the game, and how many cool projects are still set to come down the pipeline between Thanksgiving and Christmas.

What’s Coming To Hallmark This Weekend?

Hallmark has a pretty easy-to-remember schedule for fans this holiday season. The channel is consistently airing a new Christmas movie on both Saturday and Sunday each weekend. The schedule started in mid-October and will run through Sunday, December 21.

Erin Krakow’s holiday movie this year is hitting the schedule this weekend, and I am excited for it. The new flick has her starring reuniting with her pal and former co-star Tyler Hynes after 2021’s extremely likable It Was Always You. And this one’s a new take on A Christmas Carol, to flick called Christmas Above the Clouds.

The other new movie this weekend will be one of the network’s signature “Europe at Christmas” style movies and also features a heavy-hitting cast in Jonathan Bennett, Brandon Routh and Eden Sher. This will feature three siblings on a family cruise on the Danube, and is titled A Keller Christmas Vacation.

To be frank, there are so many heavy hitters still left to come, and I’m hoping Hallmark has really reinvested in scripts like I’d wanted to see last TV season. The sequel to last year’s Holiday Touchdown, this time featuring the Buffalo Bills, is set to air on November 22 (and Josh Allen is planning to watch). Lacey Chabert’s annual Hallmark outing this year will be with longtime network star Andrew Walker, and that film, She’s Making A List, will land on December 6th.

So, I know that Hallmark has some other stuff I am looking forward to watching on the 2025 TV schedule, but to be honest, I just don’t see a future where another title is quite as merry or bright as the heartwarming A Newport Christmas was for me. I’m hoping the network just outdid themselves a few times over and proves me wrong, but for now, the Brown and Morgan starrer is top notch work, and I’m going to go ahead and keep shouting that from the rooftops. Catch it if you haven’t already!

Lacey Chabert is the Christmas Queen of Hallmark, starring in dozens of films over the years for the network to commemorate the holiday season. While there are plenty of upcoming Christmas movies as we get closer to winter, Chabert’s newest Hallmark film is not going the Christmas route. And even though I love her holiday flicks, her comments about cheating on Christmas are cracking me up.

It was announced in June that Chabert’s beloved Haul Out the Holly film series will be going spooky this year with Haul Out the Halloween. The third film in the franchise will also see Wes Brown, Melissa Peterman, and Stephen Tobolowsky returning, with Halloweentown favorites Kimberly J. Brown and Daniel Kountz also starring. This marked a change for Chabert, who has done over 40 films for the network, with most of them being Christmas. Doing a different holiday is different for the Mean Girls actress, who told People how it really feels:

Considering Chabert has done almost strictly Christmas movies and no other holidays on Hallmark, it’s pretty funny that she feels like she’s cheating on it, and I can’t say I blame her. It must have been weird to do a Halloween movie, even though the movie is part of a film series that came from two Christmas movies. But that just makes me even more excited for Haul Out the Halloween, because who knows? If that one’s a success, perhaps the film series will do even more holidays.

Of course, Chabert has done a handful of non-Christmas Hallmark movies, most notably The Wedding Veil trilogy, but doing a Halloween movie is not the same. It is always nice to have a bit of a change, though, and it sounds like Chabert had a fun time, especially since Brown, who is one of her best friends, was in the movie, too.

Meanwhile, as Haul Out the Halloween prepares to premiere for the spooky season, Chabert previously revealed what Hallmark role she’d love to return to. In May, she admitted to Swooon she’s always wanted to make another All of My Heart film but it didn’t work out. Even though she couldn’t go back to the movie, she has starred with co-star Brennan Elliott in a whopping 10 movies now, which is better than nothing.

Having been a staple on Hallmark for 15 years now, it’s going to be exciting to see Chabert branch out as she’s been doing in recent years. Whether or not this will be the start of her doing other non-Christmas holiday films is unknown, but Haul Out the Halloween will surely get everyone in the spooky spirit. The film premiered on Saturday, but it will be airing again on Tuesday at 8 p.m. ET. It’s also available on Hallmark+.

With the fall season here, it’s also the season where a lot of upcoming Hallmark movies come out. This year, the channel is doing a Halloween-themed edition of the Hall Out The Holly movie series. But what I’m really living for is how Haul Out The Halloween will have a big nod to one of my favorite childhood favorites, Halloweentown.

Growing up, Disney Channel was my Hallmark… of sorts, considering it brought me huge amounts of joy and comfort, and often starred a lot of the same actors across different movies. One particularly famous one for the ‘90s and early 2000s kids was Halloweentown. I’ve just found out that Kimberly J. Brown, a.k.a. Marnie, and Daniel Kountz, a.k.a. Kal, will both be in the new release. Here’s what Brown just told Today about the movie:

Did you know that Kimberly J. Brown and Daniel Kountz are married in real life? The couple who first met in the Halloweentown sequel Kalabar’s Revenge are returning to the world of Halloween-themed sweetness to play a couple who really like to go all out on Halloween decorations. It was announced back in June, but spooky seasons was totally off my radar back then. Check it out:

Do you know what’s even sweeter? The movie series’ star, and current queen of Hallmark, Lacey Chabert is a longtime friend of Brown. She was even at the Halloweentown couple’s wedding last year. In the new interview, Brown said she’s been besties with Chabert since “childhood.” Apparently Brown and Kountz made their love of the movies known, and when Chabert found out there was another one in the works, she asked her to be in it. The Halloweentown star shared she felt “giddy,” especially since they were “fans since the beginning.”

Brown first played Marnie when she was 13 years old, and when it was one of the Disney Channel movies that became a hit, she had the chance to make two sequels. The actress previously told the story of how her and Kountz became a couple, and it wasn’t on the set of Halloweentown II: Kalabar’s Revenge. As she once told TikTok, they had no romantic feelings when she they shot the movie, and then didn’t talk for a decade or so. But, when they reunited to film some comedy sketches for her YouTube channel, sparks started flying, and now they are husband and wife. Wild, right?

Anyway, I cannot wait to see the Halloweentown couple back together again for Haul Out The Halloween, which comes out on October 11.

We’re still a few months away from getting into the upcoming Christmas movie schedule, but there’s still a lot more on the horizon for Hallmark this fall than you might guess. Lacey Chabert sent a sweet post this week announcing not one, but two, fall events for fans to get excited about as we start heading toward spooky season in the coming weeks, and one is a sequel to a Hallmark movie I have to talk about.

I could not be more enthusiastic about that title, given the humor, the cast, and the general trajectory of the first two movies has been an absolute delight. In addition, the Groomsmen trilogy is finally coming to the actual network months after its exclusive premiere on Hallmark+. I’ve stated before I’m not a fan of this exclusive streaming strategy as someone who still has a subscription to network and cable TV, but it looks like in this case we’ll get the content via a second run months later.

Why Lacey Chabert’s Haul Franchise Deserves A Fun, Halloween-Themed Installment

Obviously, I’m most excited for Haul Out The Halloween, as it will mark the third movie in a series from the person who is certainly the most popular and probably the most prodigious Hallmark star.

Three short years ago, Lacey Chabert teamed up with other network favorite Wes Brown to create Haul Out The Holly, a delightful holiday comedy romp about two people at odds over some HOA decorating. When Chabert’s Emily ends up housesitting for her parents over the holidays, she doesn’t quite realize she’s signed up to a lane known for over-the-top Christmas decorations. However, she soon learns the HOA means business.

Insofar as Hallmark plots go, this movie goes much more for straight comedy than a lot of the other Hallmark movies I’ve seen. I also like that it’s charming, and its plot is quite a bit more outside-the-box than other movies the network has produced. Though I must note it still follows the common trajectory of returning to one’s hometown fans have come to know and love from Hallmark originals around the holidays.

The flick was so popular it already spawned one sequel called Haul Out The Holly: Lit Up!, which was also pretty fun. (Though less of a straight up Top 10 for me like the first one is.) Now, we’re getting the Halloween version of the flick.

To sweeten the pot a little, Chabert, who also executive produces the movies, has enlisted the help of her pal and former Disney child star Kimberly J. Brown for her latest. Disneyphiles may already remember Brown for a spade of early aughts DCOM movies, most famously the Halloweentown franchise.

She’s a bit of a Halloween queen, but she may be well on her way to becoming a Hallmark queen, as well. In fact, she and her Halloweentown co-star and real-life husband Daniel Kountz, who played Kalabar’s son in the second movie in the four-flick franchise, will both be appearing together in Haul Out The Halloween. So, the whole thing marks a reunion of sorts.

If you’ve been pumped for The Groomsmen trilogy, it will hit the Hallmark schedule with The Groomsman First Look on September 6th. The second and third movies will air on the 2025 TV schedule on September 13th and September 20th, respectively. The lineup is part of six new movies coming down the pipeline to kick off the network’s “Fall in Love” promo, and we’ll bring you more info as it drops!

There’s no question that fans of Hallmark are always keeping their eye on the list of upcoming Hallmark movies for Lacey Chabert’s next project. But it’s hard to mention the queen of Hallmark without also thinking about her king. Brennan Elliott has starred with Chabert in a whopping 10 movies, but it turns out their partnership goes well beyond being co-stars. Elliott opened up about how much the Mean Girls alum helped him and his family when his wife died.

His & Hers, the latest collaboration between the two loyal Hallmark actors, was voted as fans’ favorite movie of 2024. Brennan Elliott took to Instagram with a lengthy post to show gratitude not just to the viewers, but to his co-star. He said he considers himself “so blessed” to have worked with Lacey Chabert on 10 movies, but their personal connection means even more. He wrote, in part:

Brennan Elliott called Lacey Chabert “one of his best friends in the whole world,” and it’s obvious that she really made an impact on him and his children. It seems that love is reciprocated, too, as his frequent co-star responded to his kind words in the comments, writing:

Brennan Elliott’s wife Camilla Row passed away in March after a long battle with cancer. She was first diagnosed in 2018, but Elliott first spoke publicly about it in 2022, when her cancer came back and she received a Stage 4 diagnosis.

We’re all looking forward to another movie starring Brennan Elliott and Lacey Chabert, but for now I really just hope Elliott is taking the time he and his kids need after their devastating loss.

As for Lacey Chabert, we won’t have to wait too long before we see her on the 2025 TV schedule again. She’s returning this fall to celebrate … Halloween? A third movie in the actress’ Haul Out the Holly series is coming soon, titled (appropriately) Haul Out the Halloween, which will see the residents of Evergreen Lane getting into the spooky season spirit. Stay tuned for a premiere date.

It’s practically guaranteed that Lacey Chabert will appear at least once each year on Hallmark’s movie schedule leading up to the holidays — they don’t call her the Queen of Christmas for nothing! However, this year we won’t even have to wait that long, as her next movie has been announced, and it has her celebrating a different holiday. Chabert will star in Haul Out the Halloween, which is coming to the 2025 TV schedule this fall.

As you may be able to tell from the title, Haul Out the Halloween is the third movie in Lacey Chabert’s previous Countdown to Christmas movies Haul Out the Holly (2022) and its 2023 sequel, Haul Out the Holly: Lit Up. We may be subbing out the hot cocoa for pumpkin spice, but I can only imagine that the neighbors on Evergreen Lane bring just as much spirit to their Halloween decorations as they do around Christmastime.

According to TV Insider, the whole gang will be back for the threequel, including Wes Brown alongside Lacey Chabert. We’ll also see their neighbors played by Melissa Peterman, Stephen Tobolowsky and Ellen Travolta. Just as Haul Out the Holly: Lit Up featured a new family on the block, Haul Out the Halloween will introduce some new neighbors played by a pretty special couple.

Keeping with the theme of the season, Halloweentown veteran Kimberly Brown will play Luna, with her Halloweentown II co-star and real-life husband Daniel Kountz playing Marvin, the new residents of Evergreen Lane. Brown and Lacey Chabert have been friends for years, with the Hallmark queen even throwing the former Nickelodeon star a bridal shower.

Hallmark has been producing a lot more Christmas movie sequels lately (Holiday Touchdown: A Bills Love Story and Three Wiser Men and a Boy, for example), but this is the first I can think of that takes an established Christmas story and moves it to a different holiday. I daresay Haul Out the Halloween might be the best Halloween/Christmas mashup since The Nightmare Before Christmas.

The official synopsis describes the movie as follows:

It’s always great to see Lacey Chabert announce a new Hallmark movie, and I’m really excited to see what she brings to the presumably not-so-spooky season. It’s an added bonus that we don’t have to wait until the Countdown to Christmas to see her next project! No date has been announced for the film yet, so keep your eyes out for updates.

Lacey Chabert doesn’t see any end in sight to her Hallmark career and seems to constantly be signing up for new projects, paying no mind to any opinions saying she's too old. She is set to head up more upcoming Hallmark movies, and some of those will certainly turn into favorites. She’s no stranger to playing the same character across multiple films on the network, and has revealed one role she definitely wants to return to, and I need it just as badly.

The Mean Girls alum has starred in 40+ Hallmark films since 2010, and her new multi-picture deal guarantees even more on the way. But despite the many roles she’s had and the many that are yet to come, Chabert admitted to Swooon that there’s one in particular she would love to reprise. In her words:

All of My Heart premiered on Valentine’s Day 2015 and followed Chabert’s young caterer who inherits a country home she has to share and renovate with a career-obsessed Wall Street Trader, played by Elliott. It was the duo’s first film together, and they've have since co-starred in 10 follow-up movies. So even though All of My Heart was a one-and-done, at least for now, it has been nice to still see Chabert and Elliott in other movies together.

That being said, if All of My Heart were to get a sequel after all these years, where would Jenny and Brian be today, and what would they be up to? Perhaps the sequel could have a similar plot to the first movie, but they inherit a hotel or restaurant rather than a house. Of course, the love story between Jenny and Brian would have to continue, but maybe there could be some obstacles coming their way. Either way, an All of My Heart sequel would be pretty great. It might be 10 years since the movie premiered, but it’s never too late to make it happen.

Considering Hallmark has been making decisions fans haven’t loved lately, it’s hard to tell whether they’ll really take Chabert up on the sequel. The network hasn’t been doing as wel as before, and there’s one big change I’m hoping they make with their upcoming Christmas lineup and that is having more high tier scripts. Perhaps that’s where All of My Heart could come in as a sequel. A Christmas sequel. One can dream.

Hallmark may not be thinking about a sequel to All of My Heart any time soon, but another one of Lacey Chabert’s movies could get a spinoff. There have been talks of her 2024 film, His and Hers, getting a sequel or TV series. Coincidentally, it co-starred Brennan Elliot, so perhaps the network just loves the idea of the two of them working together, and they’re not the only ones.

Lacey Chabert was all over the place this holiday season, not only making her annual appearance on Hallmark’s Countdown to Christmas in The Christmas Quest but hopping over to streaming to dominate Netflix with Hot Frosty. This beloved actress didn’t rest on any laurels, either, because Chabert’s name is already on the Hallmark movie schedule again, starring in An Unexpected Valentine. The movie premiered February 1, and speaking of “unexpected,” I never would have guessed what it was that attracted her to the project.

An Unexpected Valentine, which CinemaBlend’s Jessica Rawden labels a certified “banger,” stars Lacey Chabert and Robert Buckley, two frequent faces on the Hallmark channel. But while Chabert may be known as the queen of the Hallmark movie, she hasn’t actually appeared on one of its Loveuary offerings in a while. So why this flick, and why now? The actress explained to Southern Living:

OK signing on for a movie due to being excited over one costume change was unexpected, but I can see it. I love Chabert recognized with the script that a story taking place over the course of just one day means she'd spend most of the time in just one look, and that something like fewer costume changes would be a draw for signing on. After 40 movies, I guess a little bit of difference can go a long way.

Also, not only does she only have to wear one outfit for the movie, it looks like a pretty comfortable one at that!

As she said, it is interesting to see a Hallmark movie limited to such a short span of time. Even the perfect Hallmark Christmas movie formula requires a little time to build some tension between the meet-cute and the inevitable kiss into credits. It seems the plot device of An Unexpected Valentine gives this couple all the time they need!

In case you missed its premiere, Lacey Chabert stars as Hannah, who’s rushing around trying to forget it’s Valentine’s Day when she hops into a ride-share and finds an engagement ring. The driver Finn (Robert Buckley) takes her around the city in search of the ring’s owner, with the two forming a quick connection of their own along the way. (I just hope he wasn’t charging her the whole time!)

Being in a car racing around the city all day means Hannah is literally wearing the same thing the whole time — assuming her antics don’t involve some wild disguises or an impromptu shopping spree — and I totally get why that could be considered “such a treat” for the actress.

We’ve heard from Hallmark actors before how uncomfortable it can be to film Christmas movies in hot weather (for example, Alison Sweeney said it’s never her favorite), and I can’t imagine there’s much of a difference when it comes to February’s Loveuary movies. it seems jumping from one hot outfit to another wouldn’t make that any more pleasant.

I’ve been writing about upcoming Hallmark movies for nearly a decade now, and there have been plenty of duds and greats in that time. In fact, I recently wrote about how the Christmas movie season in 2024 was a bit of a disappointment. Thankfully, 2025 has given us a clean slate, and I’m happy to report Hallmark put out a banger just in time for Valentine’s Day.

If you are an aficionado of the network, you may have already seen Lacey Chabert’s latest movie for the channel. (She recently hit the 40-movie milestone at Hallmark to note.) It’s the first time she’s done a Valentine’s Day movie in awhile and the result was pristine. In fact, An Unexpected Valentine might just be my favorite Hallmark movie to hit the TV schedule since A Biltmore Christmas came out back in 2023.

An Unexpected Valentine stars Chabert and longtime Hallmark and former iZombie star Robert Buckley, and they are a delightful duo. Their meet-cute is in an off-brand Uber competitor, where his character, Finn, is an artist and part-time driver and her character, Hannah, is the maker of fancy showpiece chocolates.

After Hannah finds a lost ring in his vehicle on Valentine’s Day, the two embark on a journey to return the ring and run into other couples at varying stages in relationships while they begin to find out they fare well together.

While recent legal reports about the network mentioned the 42-year-old actress is maybe starting to age out of these sorts of movies, Hallmark has done some damage control and called Chabert's "ability to help us tell meaningful holiday stories" "unique." Chabert herself has said she wants to tell stories "through every phase of life," and her latest romance also highlights people in varying parts of their romance journey, so she's putting her money where her mouth is with this project.

Why An Unexpected Valentine Is A Must-Watch On Hallmark

One thing I really liked about Hannah and Finn is that they complement one another, but often because they are opposites. She's very put together; he has too many parking tickets. But they share a passion for art and a sense of adventure, so the characters feel like a good fit regardless of their differences. Chemistry can make or break a Hallmark movie, and while Chabert is excellent about bringing her a-game every time, Finn and Hannah feel like a natural fit without having to try too hard.

Of course, that may not have been true on set, who knows? But it's a testament to the cast and crew that this movie has such a simple premise and still manages to be a banger. I also enjoyed some of the little things this movie does that add layers, including how at times Finn can't keep his camera from seeking out Hannah. It's such a simple way for the movie to develop chemistry without having to use dialogue, and it's really engaging.

Interestingly, An Unexpected Valentine is the type of premise the network has employed plenty of times in the past, where two people who’ve just met or started working together go on an adventure to return a lost item. It’s just very well done here.

Lacey Chabert is typically the network’s Queen of Christmas, but it was a little concerning when her best holiday movie this year landed at Netflix (Hot Frosty) and not at Hallmark. (Although I have no hate for The Christmas Quest– it just didn’t make my Top 5 this year.) It’s interesting because her holiday movie was about tracking down a long-lost item and her Valentine’s Day movie was about returning a lost item she’d found. Now, she just needs a movie about having a lost item returned to her and she’ll have completed another sort-of trilogy.

But, recently, Chabert’s name came up in a lawsuit where the channel’s executive VP of programming alleged that she would need to be replaced “as she gets older.” Now that the exec, Lisa Hamilton Daly, is no longer working at the network, Hallmark’s chief brand officer had a different tone when speaking about Chabert.

The Hallmark Channel’s 2025 started with a big shift in leadership when the company’s EVP of programming Lisa Hamilton Daly was cut. Her position was eliminated following a lawsuit filed on October 9, 2024 claimed she singled out Hallmark actresses for being “old.” On Wednesday, it was announced that Chabert has partnered with Hallmark to launch a product collection for the 2025 holidays. Amidst the announcement, chief brand officer Darren Abbott said this (per People):

In Chabert’s own statement, she said she’s “incredibly grateful” to “continue” to be a big part of the Hallmark brand between her movies and this new expanded partnership with her new product collection. The line will be available only at Hallmark Gold Crown Stores!

What Was The ‘Too Old’ Allegation That Ran Around About Hallmark Stars?

In recent years, Hallmark has seen a lot of changes, with numerous Hallmark stars leaving for the channel’s competitor GAF (Great American Family) including Danica McKellar. Lisa Hamilton Daly’s position was cut earlier in January after she was sued for age discrimination and wrongful termination by former casting agent, Penny Perry.

Per the suit, Hamilton Daly said that 42-year-old Lacey Chabert was “getting older” and the network would “have to find someone like her to replace her as she gets older” along with comments that 60-year-old Holly Robinson Peete was “too expensive and getting too old.” When Chabert was promoting her Netflix Christmas movie Hot Frosty, which was both surprisingly deep and praised by critics, she said this of ageism in the industry:

I’ve been an avid Christmas movie viewer since about 2016, the first year I tuned in for an upcoming Hallmark movie. The viewership amped up considerably during the pandemic and when I was helping caretake my mother when she fought cancer, and as the cabler upped up its number of movies hitting the Christmas schedule each year, I upped my viewership too. But I have to say, it felt like there was a little magic missing in 2024 and I’d like to see that change in 2025. Here’s what I’d like to see in the coming year.

More High Tier Scripts Are Needed

Hallmark content is typically split, at least in my mind, into two different tiers. The more known faces tend to get higher quality co-stars, better written conceits and scripts and the lower tier goes to lesser known individuals on the brand to fill the network’s mad Countdown to Christmas quota. It’s fine in my mind if the network wants to invest fewer resources into that lower tier content, but in my mind there were way fewer winners this past year in that higher tier. I did like Lacey Chabert and Krisoffer Polaha’s The Christmas Quest. Of course, there were a few other bright spots on the schedule, but even the high tier stuff felt a little stilted to me compared to other years.

I actually thought Hallmark’s most high-profile movie of the season Holiday Touchdown: A Chief’s Love Story had a really silly script and also had some really bad fake snow CGI’d in, despite its charming cast including Momma Donna Kelce. And a lot of the “types” of movies Hallmark tends to like to repeat – a time travel concept, a Christmas comedy etc – just had less exciting premises than normal.

For example, the most high-profile “comedy” movie the network put out this year was (probably) Three Wiser Men and a Boy. I’m not going to say I hated this movie, because I absolutely didn’t, but when you stack the sequel up against its predecessor Three Wise Men and a Baby or other delightful comedies like Haul Out The Holly, other years just produced a better lineup for the network.

Another example? Time travel is often a topic that crops up in Hallmark Christmas films and in 2023 we got A Biltmore Christmas starring Kristoffer Polaha and Bethany Joy Lenz, which might be the best time travel movie the network has ever put together. Though I also think the underrated Love Strikes Twice, the accurately rated A Timeless Christmas and the delightfully cast Next Stop, Christmas should also be in that mix. In 2024, however, we got That ‘90s Christmas, a premise that should have been great but fell a little flat and I think it had a lot to do with the writing.

I don’t know if the network was trying to cut budget with Hallmark+ getting off the ground, there were BTS decisions being made that weren’t the best fit (Lisa Hamilton Daly did recently exit), or if it was simply chance that I found many of the projects less engaging in 2024, but whatever the case, I’d like to see a big change next year. I’d like more quality than quantity, and I’m OK if that means fewer movies.

But why should Hallmark care?

Competition Is Increasing At Netflix And Other Outlets

This holiday season, for the first time in maybe recent memory, my favorite holiday movie was on Netflix and not Hallmark. I actually really enjoyed Our Little Secret’s straight comedy bent over much of the stuff we got at Hallmark, and I particularly enjoyed the zany antics going on between Lindsay Lohan’s Avery and Kristin Chenoweth’s Erica.

I know not everyone loved the new Lindsay Lohan vehicle, but even if you didn’t, Netflix has ramped up its Christmas lineup considerably, as have other streaming services and GAF, which now houses names like Candace Cameron Bure, Danica McKellar and more. Right now, I still think Hallmark has the edge when it comes to its programming, but it’s a razor thin line where it used to be a chasm, and some of its stars are doing great work elsewhere, as well. (See: Netflix's Hot Frosty with Lacey Chabert as an example.)

As much as many of us love the holiday season, at some point I do think the competition will get fierce and the bubble will burst a bit. As an OG Hallmark fan, I’d like to see the channel remain the premiere place for holiday movies, but if last year’s lineup was any indication, other outlets are edging in.

To note, the cast wants Holiday Touchdown 2 after the movie became the No. 1 release of the season, and to be honest, I love the idea of re-teaming frequent male lead Tyler Hynes with the ever-delightful Hunter King. I just want a great script this time that’s less reliant on Chiefs cameos and gimmicks like Catrick Mahomes. That’s all I’m saying. The countdown to Christmas is already on, so let’s make some 2025 Christmas movies among the best of all time.

Hallmark’s been making some major changes over the past several years and a lot of those can be attributed to a change in leadership. Longtime ship captain Bill Abbott left for GAF in 2020 and a whole slew of Hallmark stars followed him to the new network. Taking his place was former Lifetime and Netflix head honcho Lisa Hamilton Daly, who broke diverse new ground with content and added some new talent, but who also made waves for putting some content on Hallmark+ only and was recently sued by the former SVP of Talent and Casting Penny Perry. Now she’s out, too.

Reports indicate the cabler is seeing another major exit, but in this case, Lisa Hamilton Daly will absolutely not be going to GAF, a network known for “traditional” family programming (as Candace Cameron Bure famously put it). The official statement from Hallmark uses a lot of business buzzwords to explain how the company will be “aligning” moving forward without its EVP of programming.

Regardless, the gist is the network will be eliminating the position as a whole (via Deadline) and will be shifting so that Darren Abbott will be the sole head of the network.

There’s no doubt that Lisa Hamilton Daly brought her own spin to Hallmark. The network has branched out both in terms of genre and diverse storytelling narratives, with comedies like Three Wise Men and a Baby and its sequel love stories including gay storylines like The Christmas House becoming staples for the network. Shows like The Way Home have also created a higher bar for the content audiences have come to expect, but there’s been some unrest amidst fans too.

And the Chiefs Love Story movie featuring a cameo from Travis Kelce's mom blew up in the ratings this winter.

But there have been some grumbles from fans as Hallmark+ took away some original content from cable subscribers, who still watch via traditional TV or streaming TV like YouTube TV. (As a side note, some Hallmark movies can also be seen with a Peacock subscription or even with a Netflix subscription.) The additional $7.99 cost for Hallmark+ has turned some people off, particularly those who are already paying for cable.

Hallmark+ was even going to take on The Way Home Season 3 before complaints led to a reversal. The show will now be airing on traditional TV.

Then, there’s that lawsuit, which made headlines because it allegedly highlighted points Lisa Hamilton Daly made about the leading ladies at the network, and reported the head honcho had even stated “our leading ladies are aging out. We need to find new talent to take their place.” The reference in question reportedly referred to the network’s face, Lacey Chabert, as well as longtime star Holly Robinson Peete.

The former Mean Girls star is 42 and said at the time the news was breaking that diverse storytelling doesn’t just have to do with race or genre, and that people of all ages deserve love stories, too. She noted fans should be able to see Hallmark stories "through every phase of life."

We'll have to wait and see if we learn more about the exit and where Lisa Hamilton Daly is headed next, but the good news is Darren Abbott should be taking over pretty seamlessly as the single head of Hallmark, and that should mean production on upcoming Hallmark projects is maintained pretty easily. It's a good thing, because they gotta get started on the Christmas movie schedule fairly soon. Yes, really.

The Netflix movie schedule featured quite a treat for Mean Girls fans this holiday season. Not only did Lacey Chabert make a rare detour away from her Hallmark movie offerings, but we also saw Cady Heron herself, Lindsay Lohan, return to the streamer with what some are calling Netflix’s best 2024 Christmas movie, Our Little Secret. This year was already giving Plastics vibes, but after hearing what their former co-star Jonathan Bennett had to say, I’m convinced that someone needs to start working on a Mean Girls holiday movie reunion.

Jonathan Bennett, one of the stars of Hallmark+’s new The Groomsmen trilogy, in which he helps to break down LGBTQ+ stereotypes through his character Danny, has become a fixture on the family-friendly network’s TV rom-coms, along with the queen of Christmas herself, Lacey Chabert. Lindsay Lohan, meanwhile, has been having her Lohanaissance over on Netflix. Bennett told People he doesn’t think it’s a coincidence that there’s so much overlap between Mean Girls fans and those who will be seeking out the holiday flicks on the 2025 movie schedule. He said:

Jonathan Bennett may not decorate his house for Christmas due to spending large parts of the year “covered in tinsel,” but his heart is definitely in the right place when it comes to wanting to bring joy to his fans. The only thing left to do is reunite him on screen with Lacey Chabert, who he’s crossed paths as Hallmark pals, and Lindsay Lohan. Bennett continued:

You heard the man, let’s freaking go! The actor who played Cady’s crush Aaron Samuels in the 2004 teen classic has talked several times about this happening, naming Lacey Chabert as the Hallmark actor he’d love to team up with and saying he would love to have a Hallmark Mean Girls reunion.

I can’t imagine that Lindsay Lohan and Gretchen Wieners, I mean Lacey Chabert, wouldn’t be on board. The actresses reunited for a photo op that was “so fetch” at one of Netflix’s media days this year, and both of their movies — Lohan’s Our Little Secret and Chabert’s Hot Frosty — contain subtle Mean Girls references.

This trio of actors, in fact, has been dropping easter eggs into their movies for years. In 2022, Jonathan Bennett included a Mean Girls quote in The Holiday Sitter on Hallmark just weeks after Lindsay Lohan made a brilliant reference in Netflix’s Falling for Christmas.

So this project has to happen. At this point, my only question regarding a Mean Girls holiday movie is will it be on Hallmark, or will we need a Netflix subscription?

No one can deny, Mean Girls is a timeless classic that will continue to be quoted for many years to come. While it is not technically classified as a Christmas movie, there’s one major scene in the 2004 comedy that makes the film a necessity on my holiday watch list. However, it turns out that scene was hard for Lacey Chabert to film for a very understandable reason.

Those who have seen the cult classic know exactly what scene I’m referring to. It’s about halfway through the movie, and the Plastics are performing their annual promiscuous dance to “Jingle Bell Rock.” It happens to take place while Cady, Janice, and Damian are on their mission to “crack Gretchen Weiners,” who was played by Lacey Chabert. The scene shows a frustrated Regina as Gretchen continuously messes up the dance, and Chabert got real with People about how it actually wasn’t all an act, saying:

Her two left feet kind of worked out in the end, as it plays right into the plot. Gretchen being lost during the performance because of Cady’s new addition has become just as essential to the dance as the actual moves.

I wonder if the four actresses on stage (Chabert, Rachel McAdams, Lindsay Lohan, and Amanda Seyfried) knew just how iconic this “Jingle Bell Rock” dance was going to become. A lot of Mean Girls has become ingrained into pop culture, but this scene in particular has been recreated many times, most famously in Ariana Grande’s “Thank U Next” music video. Recently, though, pop star Tate McRae surprised audiences at iHeart Radio’s Jingle Ball by recreating the scene as the intro to her set. Also included in her Tik Tok that captured the moment was Gretchen and Regina’s exchange right before taking the stage, showing that this dance is still very fetch.

At the time of filming though, the Christmas In Rome actress was not thinking long term, saying she was only trying to make it through the scene without breaking:

I can imagine I would’ve been the same way. The scene is so laugh-out-loud funny, especially seeing everyone’s reactions to the dance and the events that unfold. The way the stereo flies into Jason’s face is so comedic, and it feels like it is something I would see on SNL. Which checks out given Mean Girls was written by SNL legend Tina Fey and produced by Lorne Michaels.

In the years since filming Mean Girls, the Party of Five actress has become somewhat of a Hallmark staple, not unlike Aaron Samuels himself, Jonathan Bennett. The two had a Mean Girls reunion this holiday season, but they weren’t the only ones.

After years of Hallmark magic, Chabert got to experience how Netflix celebrates the holidays, which included a mini-reunion of sorts with Lindsay Lohan. So, the cast of the 2004 comedy is keeping that funny holiday spirit alive.

However, Mean Girls also is not going anywhere, as it still remains one of the best movies of the 2000s. The chances of another reboot anytime soon are dicey, as the Mean Girls movie musical came out less than a year ago, but I wouldn’t mind seeing our OG characters all grown up.

Similar to Chabert herself, Gretchen might be trying to explain what “fetch” means to her daughter. Unfortunately for her, there might be a lot more explaining to do than just “fetch,” starting with that winter talent show performance…

Ever since Candace Cameron Bure defected from Hallmark to GAF, Lacey Chabert has been the Queen of Christmas, at least on Hallmark. The 42-year-old actress has been churning out new content at the channel since her first movie, Elevator Girl, came out back in 2010. She’s back on the cabler this weekend for The Christmas Quest, one of Hallmark’s upcoming releases, but I just found out the new movie is also an extra special milestone for the actress ---as well as for the fans who have stuck with her over the years.

In fact, The Christmas Quest marks Chabert’s 40th movie for the network. Some people are more excited about any given big 40th milestone than others, but in Chabert’s case, she’s taken the opportunity to look back at her career and all the cool stuff the network has offered to her. She told People her younger self would never have “known” what lied ahead when she signed on for that first movie 14 years ago.

Chabert’s 40 network endeavors include a ton of great Christmas movies, but they also encompass so much more. She was part of the network’s first trilogy of movies (and subsequent trilogy) with The Wedding Veil and its sequels. Some of her other movies have also afforded her some really nice trips, such as when she traveled to Hawaii to film Groundswell. Or when she traveled to South Africa to film parts of Love on Safari.

This new film is another example. The Christmas Quest was filmed earlier this summer on location in Iceland. So, Hallmark has really proven to be a not-too-shabby way for Chabert to go to places in the world she might not otherwise, though she's said in the past she truly choose to film these movies because she loves a happy ending.

Chabert admitted earlier this year she’d filmed her 40th movie, but I didn’t realize it was coming tonight until she piped up about the experience, also calling it “surreal.” Her latest flick should be a doozy, as the network has paired her with another cabler mainstay, Kristoffer Polaha. The plot will continue Hallmark’s streak of branching out from straightforward romance, as Chabert and Polaha will be playing an archaeologist and her ex, respectively. But who knows how long that ex moniker will last?

The upcoming Christmas schedule is full of some great flicks, but Chabert’s newest release will hit Hallmark on Sunday, December 1 at 8 p..m. ET.

When it comes to the 2024 Netflix schedule, there are plenty of great new Christmas movies you can check out. However, to me, one of the best is the funny yet heartfelt Hot Frosty. This film takes a deeper look into grief and loneliness at Christmas despite its fun name, and its two stars, Lacey Chabert and Dustin Milligan, sat down with me to talk about how much it truly means to them.

For a refresher, Hot Frosty is a cute rom-com that follows the story of a recent widow who discovers she has brought a snowman to life after placing a scarf around his neck. As they spend more time together, Jack the snowman (Milligan) begins to warm Kathy's (Chabert) heart and remind her what love truly feels like.

Christmas films aren't alien to the idea of including heavier topics, but many Netflix original Christmas films have strayed away from the idea. However, Hot Frosty openly talks about how grief affects us, especially during the holidays. Lacey Chabert, who's known for many Hallmark movies involving Christmas, told me it was a delight working on a film that did "dig deeper" while still keeping in tune with the holiday spirit:

The movie definitely has its fair share of silly moments – like Jack watching TV to learn how to be a human and a cute dance that takes place at a middle school, of all places. But despite its more humorous scenes, both Jack and Kathy have some genuinely heartfelt moments that show what the healing process is like.

Milligan agreed with Chabert's sentiments, saying that having these two go on this adventure together was one of the "special things" about making this film and telling this story in general:

Hot Frosty dominated the charts when it was first released on Netflix and is still in the Top 10 now, with critics calling it "cheeky, wonton lust," which is honestly exactly what you need during the holidays.

However, through it all, there's a lot of warmth and joy to be found, and having the chance to dig a little deeper into the idea of grief and healing during the holidays is something I am always down to watch.

Winter can apparently be a tough time for couples in the bedroom, according to a famed sex therapist, but those hoping to add a little spice to their egg nog may need to look no further than the 2024 Christmas movie schedule to get things back on track. In fact, the expert thinks Lacey Chabert’s new flick Hot Frosty might be just the key to curing a dry spell, but I think it’s a different offering on the Netflix calendar that’s more likely to do the trick.

Queen of the Hallmark rom-com, Lacey Chabert shocked fans with her choice to add a Netflix holiday movie to her resume this season, and they were probably even more surprised that it was one that could be described as pornography for women. Reviews said Chabert and co-star Dustin Milligan brought the “cheeky, wanton lust” to the holiday party, and Dr. Laura Berman said such a thing might be needed this time of year.

Many factors could play into less sexy time around the holidays, the sex and relationship therapist said, including stress, lack of energy and lack of opportunity with family visiting, not to mention seasonal affective disorder and depression, which can increase this time of year. She suggests that firing up that Netflix subscription might just lead to some Netflix-and-chill, telling TMZ:

I might feel insulted at the overgeneralization of “women’s favorite things” if I didn’t feel so exposed. However, when it comes to the things the therapist mentioned — humor, buildup, hot men — I think a different Netflix offering served those up more than Hot Frosty.

The Merry Gentlemen Is The Spicier Option On Netflix’s Holiday Menu, In My Opinion

I watched both Hot Frosty and The Merry Gentlemen as soon as they hit the 2024 movie calendar, and for me, Chad Michael Murray’s Hallmark-meets-Magic Mike combo was more of what the doctor ordered (he was really just a stripper dressed like a doctor, though). While the male leads of both sexually explict Netflix movies were shirtless more than you typically see in the snow-covered Hallmark flicks, CMM’s wins the numbers game, featuring five half-nude male dancers to Hot Frosty’s singular “snowman.”

Both also featured some fun innuendo, with Jack in Hot Frosty helping a woman with car trouble by offering to “get behind you and push,” but I preferred Chad Michael Murray’s Luke saying he wouldn’t want to keep Ashley tied up (after Britt Robertson’s character got tangled in his Christmas garland, naturally) or when he asked her to “hold the nozzle” as he fixed a sink. The Merry Gentlemen also had more male dancing than I expected, with theme changes, fun costumes and some wild moves that were, indeed, both spicy and comical.

Whichever you prefer, Netflix’s Hot Frosty and The Merry Gentlemen may not be winning any awards, but if the sex therapist is right that they can fend off the winter blues and give you a boost in the romance department, they might be worthy of celebration all the same.

The final months of any given year tend to be the happiest for TV movie enthusiasts, given all the upcoming Hallmark movies that viewers can anticipate showing up in the 2024 Christmas movie schedule, complete with fan-favorite stars like Lacey Chabert, Erin Krakow, Caroline Rhea and more. But according to a recent lawsuit, one Hallmark exec was allegedly vocal about the network’s go-to casting choices getting too old, with the goal of replacing them with younger actors. How might Chabert feel about such claims?

While promoting her new Netflix movie Hot Frosty, whose cinematic universe allows for the existence of her Mean Girls co-star Lindsay Lohan’s enjoyable 2023 release Falling for Christmas, Lacey Chabert didn’t address the lawsuit itself, but rather her feelings about the importance of seeing all generations represented on the small screen. She told Variety:

Older actors being ignored by Hollywood is not a new occurrence, as ageist tactics have plagued the entertaintment industry in various ways for as long as the industry has existed. But cable TV movies, which by and large are viewed the most by older audience demographics, have seemingly always welcomed esteemed and prolific performers who are beyond their spring-chicken years. It's part of what made the claims noted in the lawsuit filing so shocking.

Chabert continued, pointing out why her role as a mother helps inform her desire to continue creating these kinds of feel-good movies regardless of her own age.

Granted, Hallmark rom-coms aren't usually seen as the pinnacle of TV cinema, but I still can't imagine anyone working at the network would think the Haul Out the Holly movies would be so much better if led by a 26-year-old actress. I can certainly understand the basic idea of wanting to get an early start on finding a new generation of stars for upcoming projects, but not at the expense of losing those that already bring in viewers.

What Hallmark's Executive VP Of Programming Allegedy Said

In the lawsuit filed on October 9, 2024, casting director Penny Perry makes the claims that Hallmark's executive VP of programming Lisa Hamilton Daly told her staff that she did not want to hire "old people" as cast members. She's accused of name-checking both Lacey Chabert (42) and Holly Robinson Peete (60) when making those comments, with the suit claiming she made both of these statements:

• "Lacey’s getting older and we have to find someone like her to replace her as she gets older."
• "No one wants [Holly Robinson Peete] because she’s too expensive and getting too old. She can’t play leading roles anymore."

Perry, who is 79 years old, said was fired by Hallmark in April after nine years with the network, and less than three years after Lisa Hamilton Daly took over as VP of programming. Ahead of her firing, Perry alleges Daly called her "long in the tooth," and said the network needed a younger casting director who had more connections to younger actresses.

It's unclear at this point what will happen with the lawsuit, but fans can already be certain that Lacey Chabert will make her Hallmark return on Sunday, December 1, with The Christmas Quest.

That would be Meet Me Next Christmas, starring Christina Milian. All about a woman racing in New York City to get her hands on a sold-out Christmas concert, Meet Me Next Christmas is #1 globally on the streamer with 32 million hours watched and 18.1 million views. The new streaming movie surpassed other Netflix originals like Time Cut, Don’t Move, and Martha which are falling just below.

Lacey Chabert and Christina Milian are both Christmas screen queens with their holiday flicks. Chabert is known for bringing her charisma and wholesome qualities to Hallmark movies like Christmas Waltz and Haul Out the Holly. Milian also has some Christmas charm in TV movies for ABC Family (now known as Freeform) like Snowglobe and Christmas Cupid. So, it’s no wonder that audiences are rushing to see Christmas movies featuring these two talented actresses.

As for why Meet Me Next Christmas could appeal to audiences on a global scale, it’s could be because of the internationally known acapella group Pentatonix, which Milian’s character tries to see in concert. Plus, with the story’s backdrop being New York City, maybe audiences from other countries find it enchanting to take a little American vacation there while in the comforts of their homes.

Even if Meet Me Next Christmas has the upper hand globally over Hot Frosty, both Christmas movies reaching high standing on Netflix are still excellent accomplishments. This demonstrates the growing popularity of feel-good holiday movies and how it isn’t even Thanksgiving, and yet people are still prepping themselves for some Christmas spirit. You can feel warm and fuzzy watching both holiday rom-coms on your Netflix subscription.

October 3rd may be the traditional day we all celebrate Mean Girls (and the day Aaron Samuels asked Cady what day it was), but fans have been spoiled over the years with several reunions and references happening around the holidays. That’s because some of the stars of the iconic 2004 teen movie often partake in holiday rom-coms, and this year’s Christmas movies are no different. Both Lacey Chabert and Lindsay Lohan appear on the 2024 Netflix schedule, so of course the former co-stars shared a moment together that was “so fetch.”

Lacey Chabert is spicing up Netflix’s holiday lineup with her recently released Hot Frosty, while Lindsay Lohan’s Our Little Secret will hit the 2024 movie calendar on November 27. The two crossed paths while doing a press day for Netflix (one of the best streaming services), and thankfully Lohan posted the moment to her Instagram Stories, including an obligatory reference to Chabert’s Mean Girls character:

In Mean Girls, Lindsay Lohan plays the new student Cady Heron who gets invited to join the popular clique, aka The Plastics. Lacey Chabert plays Gretchen Wieners, one of The Plastics who loves to describe things as “so fetch,” despite queen bee Regina George’s insistence that she, “Stop trying to make ‘fetch’ happen.”

With so many of Mean Girls’ quotes maintaining their popularity today, it’s no wonder that they keep popping up not just in the mini-reunions that the cast treats us to, but in the movies themselves. Lacey Chabert has also used Gretchen Wieners quotes when promoting her upcoming Hallmark movies.

For example, both Hot Frosty and Lindsay Lohan’s 2022 Netflix offering Falling for Christmas included “Jingle Bell Rock” as a nod to the Plastics’ dance number in the popular flick, and their Mean Girls co-star Jonathan Bennett included his own hilarious callback in The Holiday Sitter.

Jonathan Bennett, who played the aforementioned Aaron Samuels, has talked about the special bond he has with Lacey Chabert due to their Mean Girls and Hallmark connections. The duo — like Lohan and Chabert — even had a sweet reunion this year when Bennett appeared on the actress' Hallmark+ series Celebrations with Lacey Chabert.

Mean Girls fans are always down for a reunion between the stars, even if it doesn’t come on October 3rd, but if you can’t wait to see what easter eggs might pop up in the cast members’ holiday movies, you can always watch the 2004 classic or its 2024 musical remake, which can both be found streaming on Prime Video or with a Paramount+ subscription.

Lacey Chabert stars as Kathy, a widow who unwittingly turns a chiseled snow sculpture into a real (and real naked) man named Jack (Dustin Milligan). Kristy Puchko of Mashable says viewers should allow their reality to be suspended and let the sexy snowman give their minds a mental massage of silliness and sweetness. Puchko writes:

Courtney Howard of Variety says Lacey Chabert has “traded fruitcake for beefcake” this holiday season, as Netflix acknowledges “its target audience’s yearning for a sprinkling of cheeky, wanton lust.” The critic says this movie is a delightful detour from Chabert’s typical fare:

William Bibbiani of The Wrap asks, “Do you wanna boink a snowman?,” as Hot Frosty made the critic realize just how much these holiday rom-coms have in common with adult entertainment: “They’re cheap, they hit the spot and there’s more than you could ever possibly watch in one lifetime.” Please, continue:

Amy Nicholson of the New York Times tones it down a little, though, saying Hot Frosty doesn’t really stoke enough sexual tension to cause grandma to get distracted and burn the Christmas cookies. Everyone involved, however, knows exactly what they’re doing. Nicholson says:

Not everyone, however, is won over by Lacey Chabert’s Netflix romp. Brennan Klein of ScreenRant says the streamer is using the actress to emphasize how different its content is than Hallmark’s, but she fails to elevate her character beyond anything you’ve seen her do on the cable network. The critic rates the movie 5 out of 10, writing:

If Lacey Chabert’s Hallmark movies are your jam, it sounds like Hot Frosty might be the shot of whiskey that your holiday eggnog was looking for. The movie is available to stream now with a Netflix subscription.

Hallmark has allowed Lacey Chabert to reunite with some former co-stars and, whenever she does, it's a real treat. Some of those actors are fellow network alums, and others may be people she's collaborated with under other production banners. The reigning Queen of Hallmark is in the midst of working on another project for the 2024 TV schedule and, in the process, she has managed to land yet another reunion. This time, Chabert is working with Mean Girls co-star Jonathan Bennett for a fun segment, and I’m feeling all the feels.

Jonathan Bennett is also a Hallmark veteran and previously expressed interest in teaming up with Lacey Chabert for one of the network's movies. While that has yet to happen, the two did team up for something a bit different. Chabert is working on a different kind of project for the entertainment brand, Celebrations with Lacey Chabert, which sees the actress throwing celebrations for people who have made a positive impact on their communities. Hallmark+ shared a sweet video on Instagram, which shows two former co-stars getting together for the series, and their chemistry is so palpable:

The Spamalot star saying, “When Lacey Chabert calls, you show up,” just shows how close the two of them still are, 20 years after Mean Girls' release. Chabert explained that they first met on the set of the Tina Fey-penned teen comedy and have been “dear friends” ever since, and I'm living for that sweet bond. While the two didn’t have too many scenes together in the seminal 2004 flick, it’s clear that they were together enough to solidify a friendship. I'm not sure I can handle the nostalgia that's rushing through me right now.

In the Lindsay Lohan-led comedy, Chabert took on the role of Gretchen Wieners, the second in command to Plastics leader, Regina George. Meanwhile, Bennett played school heartthrob Aaron Samuels. To say that both actors are still recognized for their roles would be an understatement.

At the beginning of the year, Jonathan Bennett revealed that he would “love to do a Christmas movie with Lacey.” And, even though Celebrations with Lacey Chabert may not be a movie, it's still a sweet project for the pair to collaborate on. Now, I'm hoping that this production may greaten the odds of Chabert and Bennett acting alongside each other in a Hallmark production. If that eventually happens, I can only imagine how excited Mean Girls fans would be. I mean, I know I desperately need it to happen.

Since it seems like both actors have no plans to leave Hallmark any time soon, it’s possible that they could team up for a scripted project. Or at least, one can hope that’s the case. Still, I won't turn my nose up at Celebrations, and it may even be better than a film, as fans can see the two lovingly interacting as themselves and not playing roles.

Sabrina The Teenage Witch (Andrew Walker)

If you missed out on the hit comedy Sabrina the Teenage Witch, then you also missed Three Wise Men and a Baby star Andrew Walker as a co-worker of Sabrina’s, Cole Harper, when she worked at Scorch Magazine. Sure, he was arrogant and sometimes clashed with our teen witch, but he also gave her some good advice at times and seemed to have a somewhat well-hidden crush on her, so he wasn’t all bad.

Letterkenny (Tyler Hynes)

You could be forgiven for missing the appearances of Andrew Walker’s fellow Three Wiser Men and a Boy star Tyler Hynes during his time in Seasons 8-10 of the oddball Canadian comedy hit, Letterkenny, considering just how many wild and wonderful characters are present. Hynes portrayed Katy’s charming (and hated by many other men) boyfriend, Dierks Rensburg-van-Koeverdan, who simply couldn’t comply with Wayne’s edit that he treated Katy right, and paid the price for it.

Battlestar Galactica (Paul Campbell)

We might as well tackle the third Wise Man from that Hallmark franchise, and give you another spot to watch Paul Campbell. One science fiction series that likely took some by surprise was the reboot of Battlestar Galactica, which ran on Syfy from 2004-2009. For Seasons 1 and 2 he played Billy Keikeya, the kind aide to President Roslin after the Cylon attack destroyed the colonies.

Sister, Sister (Tamera Mowry-Housley)

Tamera Mowry-Housley has been a star since her early days, so we shouldn’t forget the series that made her (and her twin sister, Tia) famous as teens in the ‘90s, Sister, Sister. The family comedy starred Mowry-Housley as suburban twin Tamera, who goes shopping with her adoptive dad only to run into the twin sister she was separated from at birth.

Mean Girls (Lacey Chabert, Jonathan Bennett)

Honestly, if you didn’t already know about this one, well, it’s possible that you maybe haven’t been paying as much attention to your Hallmark faves as you could. While Lacey Chabert was certainly known from her time on the family drama Party of Five, it was her role as Gretchen Wieners in the classic big screen comedy Mean Girls that really made her a lasting part of popular culture. Bros (Luke Macfarlane)

Luke Macfarlane has starred in a number of beloved Hallmark movies over the years, with titles like Catch Me If You Claus, A Magical Christmas Village and Christmas in My Heart. But, the actor made a real splash on the big screen in 2022 when he starred as Aaron in one of the great LGBTQ+ romantic comedies, Bros.

Longlegs (Alicia Witt)

Alicia Witt is another of the stalwart actors on the network who got her start on a hit show in the ‘90s (she played Cybill Shepherd’s teen daughter on her eponymous sitcom) and went on to appear in a number of movies and series. But, her most recent release, the horror movie Longlegs, has already been called a film that gets “scarier with each step.”

Desperate Housewives (Jesse Metcalfe, James Denton, Terri Hatcher)

Few who were around and watching primetime TV from 2004-2012 could forget the juggernaut that was the nighttime soap opera Desperate Housewives. Teri Hatcher and James Denton starred in the series for all eight seasons as Susan Mayer and Mike Delfino, while Jesse Metcalfe had a major role in Season 1 as the teenage gardener to one of the titular housewives.

S.W.A.T. (Daniel Lissing)

Daniel Lissing is well known for his time as Jack Thornton on Hallmark’s When Calls the Heart, but the actor also made quite an impact when he guest starred for five episodes on the CBS police procedural, S.W.A.T. as Ty, a man in a couple who begins dating Officer Chris Alonso.

21 Jump Street (Holly Robinson Peete)

Before she starred in movies like Morning Show Mysteries, A Family Christmas Gift, Holiday Heritage and the Christmas in Evergreen franchise, she became famous to a whole generation of fans as Officer Judy Hoffs on the Fox cops-pretending-to-be-teens drama, 21 Jump Street.

Spy Kids (Alexa PenaVega)

Even though Alexa PenaVega is now mostly known for starring in a series of Hallmark films (largely with her husband, who we’ll get to in a bit), this former child star rose to fame as one of the leads of the Spy Kids franchise while playing Carmen Cortez in the first four films.

She’s All That (Rachael Leigh Cook)

There’s nothing like watching some of the best rom-coms for teens to help the older among us relive our glory days as carefree high schoolers. If you do that often, you will surely come upon the star of movies like ‘Tis the Season to be Merry, Valentine in the Vineyard and Frozen in Love, Rachael Leigh Cook. Her starring role as Laney Boggs in 1999’s She’s All That has cemented her place in movie history.

Girlfriends’ Guide To Divorce (Will Kemp)

While a few other Hallmark denizens appeared on the Bravo dramedy Girlfriends’ Guide to Divorce across its five seasons (like Marcus Rosner and Victor Webster), few of them made the impact that Christmas Waltz star Will Kemp did during his 15-episode stint as charismatic vegan baker, Scott.

Big Time Rush (Carlos PenaVega)

Yes, you can see Carlos PenaVega starring alongside his Spy Kids wife, Alexa, in Hallmark films like Love at Sea, Love in the Limelight and Never Too Late to Celebrate, he came to prominence as a member of the group Big Time Rush, who starred on their own eponymous musical sitcom for four seasons on Nickelodeon.

Teen Wolf (Jill Wagner)

One supernatural series that made major waves when it hit MTV in 2011 was Teen Wolf, a darker reboot of the 1985 film of the same name. In between filming movies like Christmas Cookies and Autumn Dreams, Jill Wagner recurred on the supernatural show as werewolf hunter Kate Argent.

The O.C. (Autumn Reeser)

You likely know Autumn Reeser from fare like Season for Love, Junebug and The Wedding Veil trilogy, but did you know that she also played the driven and mean-spirited Taylor Townsend for Seasons 3 and 4 of the hit teen soap, The O.C.?

John Tucker Must Die (Jesse Metcalfe)

Jesse Metcalfe was a very important part of Desperate Housewives for the first season, but after that, he moved on to leading movies like John Tucker Must Die, where he portrays the title character, a high school basketball star who is discovered to be cheating on his three different girlfriends.

Wonder Woman 1984 (Kristoffer Polaha)

It would be fair to say that Kristoffer Polaha’s role in Wonder Woman 1984 is one of the smallest but possibly most important on this list. The star of beloved Hallmark titles such as A Biltmore Christmas, Dater’s Handbook and the Mystery 101 franchise briefly plays the man whose body is taken over by the magically resurrected spirit of Steve Trevor.

One Tree Hill (Bethany Joy Lenz, Hilarie Burton, Chad Michael Murray)

Let us all be thankful for the teen soap known as One Tree Hill, because that nine-season hit gave Hallmark fans not one, but three stars, with Bethany Joy Lenz, Hilarie Burton, and Chad Michael Murray all making movies for the network.

Step Up 2: The Streets (Will Kemp)

Step Up was a big enough hit that someone figured we might as well go to The Streets for the second installment, which had basically the same plot as the first film. It saw Will Kemp star as Blake Collins, the director of the performing arts school at the center of the story, who also happens to be the older brother of one of the lead dancers.

How I Met Your Mother (Ashley Williams)

You may know Ashley Williams from movies like Two Tickets to Paradise and Never Kiss a Man in a Christmas Sweater, but long before those starring roles she popped up as Ted’s girlfriend/would-be fiancée Victoria on How I Met Your Mother for several seasons, including Season 1 after their eyes meet from across a room at a wedding. And, many fans think she should have been the real “mother” at the end.

Twitches (Tamera Mowry-Housley)

Sister, Sister led to lots of other opportunities for the Mowry twins, and those included Twitches. The 2005 Disney Channel original film focuses on magical twin sisters who are reunited on their 21st birthday, and are finally told of their true heritage so that they can save their homeland from evil. The movie was so popular that a sequel, Twitches Too, was released two years later.

True Blood (Wes Brown)

Known for playing smart/hot guys in Hallmark movies like Wedding at Graceland, Sweet Pecan Summer, and the Haul Out the Holly franchise, you’ll get a very different Wes Brown if you check out his Season 2 stint on HBO’s hit fantasy, True Blood. Brown played Luke McDonald, a member of a vampire/magical being-hating religious cult, who comes to a shocking end.

Gilmore Girls (Chad Michael Murray)

We hate to tell all the One Tree Hill fans this, but Gilmore Girls’ Tristin Dugray walked so that Chad Michael Murray’s Lucas Scott could run. Tristin was rich, popular and entitled, and nothing he did could quite convince Rory to leave Dean for him, though there are likely some fans who think he should have been her end-game romance.

Fuller House (Jodie Sweetin)

The hit family sitcom Full House and its popular Netflix revival, Fuller House, have given us more than one Hallmark star over the years, with Stephanie Tanner herself, Jodie Sweetin, having made movies like Merry & Bright, A Cozy Christmas Inn, and The Jane Mysteries franchise.

JAG (Catherine Bell)

Though there are millions of fans now who love Catherine Bell for her seven seasons as The Good Witch, Cassie Nightingale, there are millions more who love her for portraying Lieutenant Colonel Sarah MacKenzie for 10 seasons on JAG, the Naval legal drama that spawned the ever-enduring NCIS franchise.

Jurassic World: Dominion (Kristoffer Polaha)

There wasn’t much lovey-dovey stuff to go around for Kristoffer Polaha when he portrayed the right-hand man of dino poacher Rainn Delacourt, Wyatt Huntley, in Jurassic World: Dominion.

Hallmark stars with a history on teen soaps seem to be a theme here, and the same is true for Jessica Lowndes. Before leading films like A December Bride, Christmas at Pemberley Manor and Angel Falls Christmas (with Chad Michael Murray), Lowndes played the consistently troubled teen Adrianna Tate-Duncan for five seasons on The CW revival of 90210.

Chicago Med (Jessy Schram)

Arrow (Marcus Rosner)

The CW’s superhero shows formed the (mostly) connected Arrow-verse because that series led the way and brought us loads of memorable moments and characters. Those include Max Fuller, who was brought to life by Marcus Rosner, star of movies like Falling Like Snowflakes, Notes of Autumn and Flipping for Christmas. Though he was only in two episodes (in Season 1 and 7), Rosner (and Max) made quite an impression.

Workin’ Moms (Victor Webster)

Victor Webster is known for his time in movies like Summer Villa, Five Star Christmas and The Wedding Veil franchise, but he also spent quite a lot of time on the Netflix comedy Workin’ Moms as Mike Bolinski.

Two Weeks Notice (Alicia Witt)

The Sandra Bullock/Hugh Grant comedy Two Weeks Notice will likely go down in history as one of the rom-coms that are better than people remember them to be, but one of the things that makes it good is Alicia Witt’s performance as June Carver, the potential replacement for Bullock’s Lucy, who works alongside Grant’s George. It’s a small role, but one that helps George see the error of his ways.

It's been over two decades since Mean Girls first hit theaters starring Lindsay Lohan as Cady, the new girl in school. The teen comedy is considered one of the best movies of the 2000s and became such a classic that it inspired a Broadway show and then a movie musical based on the stage performance. All three versions kept a lot of Tina Fey's original and oh-so-quotable dialogue, so let's look back at 32 of the best Mean Girls quotes that we're still repeating today.

“Raise your hand if you have ever been personally victimized by Regina George.”

Regina George remains one of the most notorious female villains in movie history, and if you need proof of why, just look at how many people she has affected with her reign of terror. Even her best friends fell victim to her manipulation, as well as the North Shore High teachers.

“You go, Glen Coco!”

It seems like such a throwaway line that it's hard to say why this quote is so enduring. Damian is helping Cady to break up The Plastics, which involves him dressing as Santa Claus for a candy cane scheme. He hands out candy canes purchased by other students, with Glen Coco receiving an impressive four, thus inspiring the beloved quote. The line was even given extra flair in the musical versions of the film during the song "Revenge Party."

"It's October 3rd."

Mean Girls fans will never forget what day it was when Aaron Samuels asked Cady what day it was. That date is now circled on movie lovers' calendars as Mean Girls Day, making it the perfect time to dress up in pink (as long as it's Wednesday) and enjoy a repeat viewing of the classic teen movie.

"Oh, I love seeing teachers outside of school. It's like seeing a dog walk on its hind legs."

Damian and Janis seemed bewildered and a little disgusted to see Ms. Norbury outside of the classroom, and shopping at the mall no less. Janis wasn't wrong, though, because there is something inherently strange about seeing teachers or anyone from school out in the wild.

“On Wednesdays we wear pink.”

The Plastics had a lot of arbitrary rules about social appearances to follow, but this one is the most iconic. How does anyone who's seen this movie even put together an outfit on a Wednesday without considering this cardinal rule? Is it even OK to wear pink on days that aren't Wednesday? I'm not afraid to ask the important questions.

“She doesn’t even go here!”

I wouldn't say it was surprising that Damian snuck into the junior girls' workshop (his identity fully cloaked by use of a hoodie and sunglasses). It's a little surprising, however, that he infiltrated their space and then still had the brazenness to call out someone else who wasn't supposed to be there.

“That’s why her hair is so big. It’s full of secrets.”

Gretchen Wieners, played by Lacey Chabert, was all "big hair, don't care" in Mean Girls, as the girl who knew everything about everybody. Damian (Daniel Franzese) had an amusing way of describing the infamous gossip, but his delivery ensured that the quote would stick around for decades.

“That was so fetch.”

You have to applaud Gretchen for her drive to make "fetch" happen. Despite anything Regina says, it's clear that if we're still saying this word 20+ years later, it was a success.

“What’s so great about Caesar, hmm? Brutus is just as cute as Caesar. Brutus is just as smart as Caesar. People totally like Brutus just as much as they like Caesar. And when did it become OK for one person to be the boss of everybody, huh? Because that is not what Rome is about!”

The Plastics are clearly Gretchen's Roman Empire, and she definitely started to see some parallels between Julius Caesar and Regina George, leading to her questioning in the middle of history class why Caesar got to stomp around like a giant while the rest of them tried not to get smushed under his big feet. For what it's worth, I've also always thought Brutus was just as cute as Caesar.

"Whatever, I'm getting cheese fries."

Math is hard. When Cady tried to show Regina how to cross multiply to figure out the percentage of calories from fat in her lunch, the queen bee decided it was just easier to go with what she knew.

“I’m not like a regular mom. I’m a cool mom.”

Amy Poehler was only in Mean Girls for a total of 2 minutes and 10 seconds, but boy did she make an impression as Regina's mom. Mrs. George's ridiculously lenient parenting style continues to be referenced (and possibly emulated) to this day. You can't say she wasn't a good hostess, though, because she was willing to get the girls drinks or novelties of any sort.

“Irregardless, ex-boyfriends are just off-limits to friends. I mean, that’s just, like, the rules of feminism.”

Oh Gretchen. I'd love to be able to give her credit for using a four-syllable word, but given that "irregardless" isn't a word, I just can't. I'm also not sure that Ms. Toaster Strudel quite understands the basic tenets of feminism, though many would agree that staying away from friends' ex-boyfriends is a good practice.

"She asked me how to spell orange."

What an underrated gem we have in this quote. When explaining to Cady who the Plastics are, Damian gives a colorful example of why Karen is one of the dumbest girls you'll ever meet.

“I don't think my father, the inventor of Toaster Strudel, would be too pleased to hear about this."

I just adore Gretchen throwing her weight around as the heiress of the Toaster Strudel empire. She's taking names and is certainly not afraid to drop them.

"I'm kind of psychic. I have a fifth sense. It's like I have ESPN or something."

Now we just have to figure out which other sense Karen Smith isn't using ... Amanda Seyfried's character's talents didn't end with her psychic abilities (or the ability to watch cable sports, apparently). She can also put her whole fist in her mouth and predict when it's already raining.

"There are two kinds of evil people. People who do evil stuff and people who see evil stuff being done and don't try to stop it."

Janis Ian (played by Lizzy Caplan) is definitely onto something here, but I'm not quite sure her argument holds up when you consider she was trying to get Cady to steal the Burn Book from Regina. I'm not sure her intentions were pure.

“I will keep you here all night. ... I will keep you here till 4.”

Principal Duvall (Tim Meadows) was determined to not let the students leave until they'd learned a lesson from the huge brawl that took place in the school halls. He didn't care how long it took ... at least until he was informed that the school couldn't force anyone to stay past 4.

"Did you have an awesome time? Did you drink awesome shooters, listen to awesome music, and then just sit around and soak up each other's awesomeness?"

Janis had every right to be mad at Cady for lying about going out of town instead of going to her art exhibit. On top of everything, Cady threw a big party and didn't even invite Janis and Damian, thus proving that Cady had gone full Plastic. Janis fully dismantled Cady, yelling at her through the sunroof of Damian's car as he tried to get them home before breaking curfew, and I'm sure no one involved felt very awesome in that moment.

“I’m sorry that people are so jealous of me, but I can’t help it that I’m popular.”

I'm pretty sure this was not the kind of apology that Ms. Norbury meant when she suggested the junior girls had some things they needed to get off of their chest. No wonder nobody caught her during the trust fall.

“I wish we could all get along like we used to in middle school. I wish I could bake a cake filled with rainbows and smiles and everyone would eat and be happy.”

If anyone was in need of Ms. Norbury's empowerment exercises to be able to get something off of her chest, it definitely seems like this mystery student. Too bad she didn't even go there.

“And I want my pink shirt back!”

After Janis went off on Cady for becoming one of The Plastics, Damian punctuated it by basically saying there was no way he was going to let Cady keep the pink shirt he'd lent her so she could sit with her new friends on Wednesdays. This line was apparently ad-libbed by Daniel Franzese, so hats off to the actor.

“One time she punched me in the face. It was awesome.”

The students at North Shore High School were so desperate to be seen by Regina George that they didn't care how that acknowledgment came. Poor Bethany Byrd (Stefanie Drummond) took one in the face from the queen bee and was pleased as, well, punch.

"Gretchen, stop trying to make fetch happen. It's not going to happen!"

I hate to break it to you, Regina, but "fetch" totally happened. Strangely enough, though, so did this quote, because it's still repeated in the context of trying to get anyone to stop doing something that's inevitably going to fail.

"Oh my God, Danny DeVito! I love your work!"

This wasn't actually the kindest response that Damian could have given after getting called out for being in the girls restroom to talk to Cady and Janis, but it is hands down one of the funniest.

"I win.”

A freshly divorced Ms. Norbury definitely won the contest for who had the worse summer, after Mr. Duvall said his carpal tunnel syndrome came back. A breakup absolutely trumps carpal tunnel every time.

"Get in, loser, we're going shopping."

Thanks to Regina George, multiple generations of girls have been endearingly referring to their besties as "losers" for 20 years. I, personally, cannot get in the car to go shopping without uttering this phrase.

"I'm a mouse. Duh!"

Everyone (except Cady) knows that Halloween is just an excuse for girls to go out in public dressed provocatively. Lingerie works as a costume if you pair it with animal ears, right? Right?! Well, at least it worked for Karen.

“I can’t go out. *cough, cough* I’m sick.”

Using a fake illness to get out of a possibly uncomfortable social situation is a good move, but the strategy's success lives and dies on the strength of that fake cough. Karen's is definitely one for the history books.

"Is butter a carb?"

Regina George honestly wasn't looking too good when she reached the point in her "diet" where she had to ask Cady if butter was a carb.

“I have a nephew named Anfernee, and I know how mad he gets when I call him Anthony. Almost as mad as I get when I think about the fact that my sister named him Anfernee.”

OK, this may not be a quote that's actually repeated in full, but you can't help but love this oh-so-relatable look into Principal Duvall's private life after Cady corrected him on the pronunciation of her name.

"I didn't say anything."

There are tons of examples throughout the 2004 classic that show just how much of a fish out of water Cady is amongst the wilderness of the high school hallways, but one of the funniest was her not understanding why the Plastics were always playfully telling her to "Shut up!"

“I did not leave the South Side for this.”

Principal Duvall certainly did not expect to have to deal with full-on hallway melees when he came to North Shore High School, and he was not about to allow himself to be bested by the entire class of junior girls. After nearly getting kicked in the face, he hit the fire alarm, which promptly put an end to the Burn Book brawl.

The 2024 fall TV schedule might just be getting started, but that hasn’t stopped Hallmark from unveiling its upcoming holiday movie schedule. This year, in celebration of the 15th anniversary of being the go-to for Christmas movies, the cable network is releasing 47 new films, including two featuring Mama Donna Kelce and one with the Queen of Christmas, Lacey Chabert. The lineup is so stacked, in fact, that I was shocked when I realized Chabert’s new movie doesn’t even crack my top 5!

Unlike last year, where Chabert pulled a double-header appearing in two Hallmark original Christmas movies, she’ll only be in one this year. The Christmas Quest premieres on December 1st, and it will feature the queen of the holiday movie season playing a divorced archeologist opposite Kristoffer Polaha, who will play her ex-husband and an expert in ancient Norse languages. Given their expertise, the two are sent to Iceland to search for a mysterious treasure that they have to find before it falls into the wrong hands.

While it definitely sounds exciting, it seems too adventurous and not romantic enough for my Hallmark Christmas movie taste. Fortunately, there are tons of other flicks on the lineup that have me pumped and counting down the days until the holiday season begins.

The 5-Year Christmas Party

The 5-Year Christmas Party is at the top of my nice list this year.

For the last five years, former high school theater rivals Alice (Katie Findlay) and Max (Jordan Fisher) have reunited to work at a catering company’s Christmas parties. After the two learn that this is the company’s last year, they grow closer and must confront their true feelings before they part ways.

As a fan of Fisher, I’m excited to see him make his Hallmark debut. I’m also a sucker for the enemies-to-lovers trope, so this checks off two boxes. Thankfully, I won’t have to wait too long for this one since it’ll premiere on the cable network on Sunday, October 27th.

Holiday Mismatch 

Hallmark is known for reuniting co-stars from former projects during the holidays, and it’s happening again this year with Holiday Mismatch. Caroline Rhea and Beth Broderick, best known for playing the aunts on Sabrina the Teenage Witch, will reunite on the small screen, playing rival Christmas committee members who accidentally set their adult children up on a date.

It already sounds like this one is going to stray from the perfect standard Hallmark formula since the focus of the film is on the mothers instead of their presumed to-be-in-love children. The one thing that seems certain is that this is going to be full of laughs, considering Rhea and Broderick’s iconic chemistry. You won’t want to miss Holiday Mismatch when it airs on Sunday, November 3rd.

’Twas the Date Before Christmas

Kicking off this year’s lineup on Friday, October 18th, and landing a spot on my most anticipated films list is ’Twas the Date Before Christmas.

After meeting Bryan (Robert Buckley) on a dating app, Jessie (Amy Groening) convinces him to pretend to be her boyfriend and spend the holidays with her to save her family’s annual Christmas Olympics competition.

Groening starred in The Santa Summit last year, which had a unique spin on Hallmark Christmas movies, so I’m hoping the same is true for this one. Plus, I’m a super fan of the Olympics, so anything remotely related always has me excited.

Sugarplummed 

Sugarplummed features Pretty Little Liars alumn turned Hallmark star Janel Parrish as Sugarplum, a made-for-TV holiday character who comes to life to help Emily (Maggie Lawson) create the perfect Christmas for her family. One would think that Sugarplum would make things easier, but her magical powers actually cause more harm than good as the two struggle to make the holiday season one to remember.

As a fan of Parrish since her PLL days, I’m excited to see her in another holiday Hallmark movie. I also love the potential the project has to poke fun at the so-called perfect Christmas that the cable network has been promoting for the last 15 years. We'll probably need to suspend our belief and not overthink the plot of this one, though.

Still, you won't want to miss this potentially meta Christmas movie when it airs on Saturday, December 7th.

Three Wiser Men and a Boy 

In recent years, the cable network has begun to give their most popular films sequels. In 2022, Three Wise Men and a Baby was one of the biggest movies, and now its fans are getting a highly anticipated sequel, Three Wiser Men and a Boy, on Saturday, November 23rd.

Three Wiser Men and a Boy reunite the Brenner brothers as they struggle to direct Thomas’ school holiday musical while also trying to get to know their mother’s new boyfriend.

Paul Campbell, Tyler Hynes, and Andrew Walker were hilarious in the first movie, and I’m willing to bet all my Christmas presents that the same is going to be true this time. I’m also excited to see how they juggle Luke’s son, who is much older than he was in the first film.

With 47 films debuting, it was hard to narrow down my list to just five. Some honorable mentions include A Carol for Two and Trivia at St. Nick’s. I’m also pumped to check out the brand-new reality series Finding Mr. Christmas, which follows ten men competing against each other to land the lead role in the final film on the lineup Happy Howlidays.

While there are plenty of reasons to celebrate this year’s line-up, I am bummed that there don’t seem to be as many films with LGTBQ+ couples this year. Some of the synopses are a bit vague, though, so I’m hopeful we’ll get some. After all, Jonathan Bennett is starring in Season’s Greetings from Cherry Lane, which might involve him reprising his role from Christmas on Cherry Lane. However, the film doesn’t appear to be an official title on the countdown since it premieres on Thursday, December 5th.

Hallmark’s Countdown to Christmas kicks off on the cable channel on Friday, October 18th so you’ll want to get those DVRs ready since these aren’t traditionally available elsewhere. Super fans should also check out the Hallmark+ app, which will air new movies and two original limited series during the holiday season, in addition to over 600 hours of past films.

Lacey Chabert first filmed Elevator Girl, a TV movie made for Hallmark, back in 2010. It was five years after she portrayed the iconic Gretchen Weiners on the big screen and 10 years after Party of Five had wrapped its memorable run on Fox. It’s hard to believe 14 years have passed, and she even reunited with her Party of Five co-star on the channel since then, but Lacey Chabert has kept busy. She recently revealed she’d filmed her 40th movie for the cabler, and explained why she loves the gig so much, even years later.

It's Hard To Believe Lacey Chabert Is A Veteran In The Hallmark Biz

For years, Lacey Chabert was a child actress, transitioning into teen comedy roles in TV and on the big screen -- most notably Mean Girls. But she's been frequently parked at Hallmark for filming in more recent years, which gives her time to pursue other projects, like her clothing line, and spend time with her daughter Julia and family. (Plus gives her time to do totally relatable things, like Target runs.)

In between her other ventures, she has time to film several films for the cable company every year. And as we head toward Christmas movie season, Hallmark’s upcoming schedule is chock full of new and exciting projects and Chabert will be in that mix. In fact, she recently admitted to the talk that she’s hit the big 4-0, and I’m not talking about her age.

Now to note, as the resident Hallmark “it” girl, I’d assume that Chabert gets her pick of movie projects and co-stars. She recently filmed a movie His & Hers that could spinoff into more with her frequent co-star Brennan Elliot. But for movie #40 she wanted to do something a little more special, and this holiday season she filmed with other Hallmark veteran Kristoffer Polaha.

He plays a Norse language expert -- and her ex-husband -- in the film, which means the cast and crew headed to Iceland for the latest romantic adventure. It's definitely a perk of the job.

Lacey Chabert's Favorite Part Of Working For Hallmark

Chabert opened up about a lot of the experiences her roles at the cabler have offered her. In Love on Safari she was able to head to South Africa and film on the Brookers Reserve in Johannesburg and the elephant sanctuary in Belabela. In Groundswell she was able to film in Hawaii (Maui) and the views were, frankly, stunning.

Now, in The Christmas Quest, she was able to head all the way to Iceland. As she noted in the interview with The Talk:

Times passes quickly. I feel like yesterday, I was still blatantly trying to make fetch happen, and now Chabert is telling stories about her daughter wondering what "fetch" means. But it sounds like she's not taking her work or any of the big life experiences it has offered her for granted. And while that doesn't make me feel any younger, I'm quite happy for her.

Just when Regina George told Gretchen Weiners in Mean Girls that her slang word “fetch” would never happen, we’re still saying it twenty years later. Mean Girls cast member Lacey Chabert sure is whose character Gretchen is responsible for making that slang word trending. Now that the Hallmark Movies star is a “cool mom,” she tells the adorable story of trying to bring “fetch” to her young daughter as she wonders what it means.

The word “fetch” may have been incredibly misunderstood when Gretchen Weiners tried to populate it in Mean Girls. But because of what a classic the teen ‘00s film is, “fetch” easily comes to mind when thinking of this movie. Little would Julia know just how many people watch her mother’s movies.

Not only is Mean Girls such a standout when people think of the American actress, but Lacey Chabert has made a real name for herself on the Hallmark Channel (especially her Hallmark Christmas movies). She had a highly anticipated new Hallmark movie just come out called His & Hers. Chabert's also got an entirely new Hallmark TV series project called Celebrations with Lacey Chabert planning epic surprise parties for the people who’ve made a great impact on her life and the community. We saw the Party of Five actress’s brilliant work when she sweetly surprised her friend Kimberly J. Brown with her beautiful bridal shower. It’s truly “so fetch” what a giving person Chabert is.

The word “fetch” was first invented by Mean Girls writer and star Tina Fey who decided to make up her own word based on “fetching” compared to trying to keep up with what kids were saying. With the character of Gretchen always trying to be such a trendsetter, it definitely fits. The fake slang word is still being used whenever we relate to Mean Girls. After all, the British slang was one of the best Easter eggs in the 2024 movie musical saying it was “slang from an old movie” (I’ll try not to be offended by that).

“Fetch” was even a “grool” reference in the Mean Girls-themed Walmart Black Friday ads. Lacey Chabert snapped back into Gretchen for the commercials remarking how "fetch" her daughter's clique looks for photos only to be told by her own daughter to “stop trying to make ‘fetch’ happen!” Don’t worry, Gretchen. Lacey Chabert’s eight-year-old daughter may not understand the significance of “fetch” now, but give it a few years when she realizes what a pop culture icon her mother’s movie Mean Girls became to generations of fans. Lacey Chabert’s newest Hallmark movie, His & Hers, premiered over the weekend, and it was one I had been waiting for. It was initially announced in June that Chabert was reuniting with beloved Hallmark co-star Brennan Elliot for the new flick, where they play married lawyers on opposite sides of a high-profile divorce. While the film did just premiere on Hallmark’s upcoming movies lineup, there are actually already talks for more and one idea is definitely catching my eye.

The typical move for Hallmark when a movie becomes a hit is to order a sequel. Sometimes, that sequel turns into a trilogy, and that turns into a whole film franchise. However, Elliot, who also starred alongside Chabert in the Hallmark Movies & Mysteries film series Crossword Mysteries, teased to TV Insider that it could go the When Calls the Heart route with a full-blown TV show:

It was fun seeing Chabert and Elliot together again for His & Hers and their dynamic playing out as a married couple going against each other. But to see them every single week and duking it out on opposite sides? That would be like heaven. Plus, there are definitely other directions a spinoff could go in that aren't always revolving around divorce cases or the legal aspect. Perhaps even routes that don’t have to include Chabert or Elliot but would still be entertaining to watch. The actor said:

Legal dramas and procedurals are all the rage and have been for quite some time now. Many procedurals have gone on to spawn franchises or go on for years and years. His & Hers could definitely work as a series, even if it may not completely follow the typical Hallmark formula. Brennan Elliot, however, loves the idea:

Nothing is official as of yet, and these are just some fun ideas and thoughts. Depending on the fan reaction to His & Hers and what other people think of a potential series spinoff, it may not be too far-fetched. If Lacey Chabert and Brennan Elliot were to do a series, that might mean less time for other Chabert's other Hallmark movies and projects, as well as for Elliot. When Calls the Heart’s Erin Krakow finds it hard to do other projects outside the long-running romance drama. There are different ways the spinoff could go, though, and now that it’s been brought up, I need it now more than ever.

Whether a sequel or spinoff of His & Hers will happen is unknown, but it might be just a little too early to predict anything. It’s not too early to still come up with some fun ideas, though. At the very least, hopefully, Chabert and Elliot do another project together in the near future, whether it’s for His & Hers or something else.

Lacey Chabert is continuing her reign on Hallmark as she prepares to release her first movie on the 2024 TV schedule, His & Hers. The project, which was announced a while ago, comes out in just a few days (Saturday, September 7), and there are so many reasons to get excited too! That's because not only will this project mark her first film of the year, but she’s reuniting with former co-star, Brennan Elliot too, and I can't wait to see it!

Starring Chabert and her All of My Heart and Crosswords Mysteries co-star Elliot, His & Hers centers on married lawyers Mark and Dana, who wind up on opposite sides of a highly public divorce case involving a reality show couple. From the synopsis alone, you can tell it’s going to be an entertaining flick, and from the trailer Chabert posted on her Instagram, that point was solidified:

Fans are not the only ones excited about this either. In the comments section of Chabert’s post, fellow Hallmark star and occasional Hallmark movie boyfriend Will Kemp shared a series of emojis to express his excitement, writing: "❤️🙌🔥👏." Emojis can really be worth a thousand words, and in this case, Kemp expressed his enthusiasm perfectly.

It’s always exciting when Chabert reunites with a former co-star for another Hallmark film, because I love seeing the chemistry they shared on display in a different way. His & Hers is one of the most anticipated projects among Hallmark’s upcoming films partly for that reason.

His & Hers will be the first movie that Lacey Chabert and Brennan Elliott star in together since 2021 when they worked on the Crossword Mysteries films Terminal Descent and Riddle Me Dead for Hallmark Movies & Mysteries.

While they will be a couple in this new film, it seems like they will be going at it against each other due to being on opposite sides of a divorce case. Personally, I can't wait to see how their characters balance their personal and professional relationship. Just going off of their previous movies together, it’s nothing they can’t handle.

Meanwhile, Chabert had an insane summer as she was wrapping her next big Christmas movie and hyping up her reunion with Elliot. She’s truly staying as busy as ever, and she is not slowing down any time soon. It wouldn’t be surprising if she starts promoting yet another film on top of her holiday one soon, but give me any and all of her projects, and I'll be a happy girl.

July has been a busy month for Lacey Chabert. She announced a new Hallmark+ series, signed on for several upcoming Hallmark projects, and decided to lead the Netflix Christmas movie Hot Frosty opposite Dustin Milligan, Katy Mixon Greer and Craig Robinson. Beyond these major moves, she had time to attend this summer’s TCA event, where she rocked the sweetest retro-reminiscent floral print dress on the network's purple carpety. You can see her cool look, below.

If you’ve been out of the loop, Lacey Chabert’s quite the fashionista. It’s not just the cute coats that have become a trademark (even though secretly a lot of these Hallmark movies film in the heat); she also sells her own line of clothing on HSN with tons of fun prints and cuts. Plus, she’s a great advocate of flattering dresses, and is often seen wearing some of the more fun fashion trends moms favor. The last couple of years I’ve seen her try some fun Hill House Home prints, for one example.

This time around, her sweet printed dress is from the designer brand Shoshanna, sold at places like Saks Fifth Avenue and Neiman Marcus. Both still have the halter mini dress in stock, if you’d like to look as sweet as Ms. Chabert, though Neiman Marcus both has the distinction of being cheaper and having fewer sizes available. The brand even commented on a post about the looking, writing, “This dress was made for you!❤”

It really does look flattering on her. But what I like best is how accessible Chabert's test trends.

A lot of celebs tend to rock frocks from high-end, but incredibly costly designers like Chanel or Balenciaga and more. (See: Florence Pugh constantly in sheer Valentino as an example.) Meanwhile, Chabert’s sense of style can be pricey, but is much more approachable. And her HSN line is super affordable for any price point.

She’s like all of the other moms going on relatable Target runs and wearing outfits that make her feel good and stylish at the same time. They are also looks her fans could conceivably try on in stores and wear in the future. Given Chabert's curves, they work for a lot of shapes and body sizes too.

All in all, with Chabert being so busy filming over the next few months, particularly when it comes to holiday premieres hitting the 2024 TV schedule, I'm guessing she'll get the chance to style a few more fun carpet looks in different silhouettes. We'll be sure to share any that really catch our eye, and I have a good feeling there will be some that might catch yours too.

As any adult knows, summers just aren’t the same when you grow up. Sure, you might take a week or two off, but you still gotta bring in those dollars for the three warmest months of the year, and it appears that no one understands that better than Hallmark star and Mean Girls legend Lacey Chabert. She’s having an insane summer right now, between wrapping a Christmas movie, hyping her 10th reunion with another co-star, and working on other projects.

What Has Hallmark Star Lacey Chabert Been Working On This Summer?

We’ve all been working this summer, but the star of over 30 Hallmark movies, Lacey Chabert, seems to have taken that to new heights this year. It was on Instagram back in April that the Party of Five favorite let fans in on the fact that she was going to share her first ever upcoming Hallmark movie with another of the network’s popular actors, Kristoffer Polaha. The duo have now filmed The Christmas Quest, which will (of course) debut as part of this year’s Countdown to Christmas lineup on the 2024 TV schedule. 

The holiday rom-com will see the duo, who portray an ex-wife and husband, join forces to search for treasure. About the film, Chabert told First for Women:

This marks her 15th Christmas film for the ultra popular channel, and while the movie will serve as her first outing with Polaha as her leading man, he did appear briefly in her 2022 Hallmark hit Haul Out the Holly. Chabert has partnered with many of the most recognizable faces known to Hallmark viewers over the years, and she also recently reunited with another one for their 10th film there together. 

In June we found out that she and Brennan Elliot came back together to film His & Hers, which is set to air during the annual Fall Into Love programming event. This outing will see the Crossword Mysteries and All of My Heart co-stars play married attorneys who end up on opposite sides of the chaotic divorce case of two reality stars, which causes some trouble for the couple at home. As you might imagine, she enjoyed reuniting with Elliot, and said:

Chabert described the new movie as “fun” and added that fans will see the couple exploring some “thoughtful questions” about their own relationship. 

If you think this must be everything the star (who reunited with Scott Wolf for A Merry Scottish Christmas last year) has coming up, well, you’d be wrong! Chabert has also branched out and taken on her first holiday movie for everyone with a Netflix subscription, Hot Frosty, which will see her widow magically bring a hunky snowman to life. On top of that, she has also filmed her first reality series, Celebrations with Lacey Chabert, which will celebrate unsung heroes by “throwing parties for children [and adults] who make an impact on the lives of people in their communities.” That inspiring series is set to debut when Hallmark+ (which might be a bad idea) starts in mid-September.

Basically, Lacey Chabert is busier than you (and me), and now everyone who’s gotten caught up on what she’s been doing this summer is going to need an extra vacation just from reading about her recent work.

We're only halfway through 2024, but it feels like Lacey Chabert has already done enough work to fill up an entire year. The actress is not only working on a new film at Netflix, but she is continuing her Hallmark takeover. Last year, she had a doubleheader for the network's Christmas lineup, which even included some Hallmark reunions. Now, the Mean Girls alum has yet another reunion coming up, and fans are sure to be excited about this one!

Who Is The Hallmark Actress Reuniting With, And What's Their New Project?

Hallmark has announced that Lacey Chabert will be reuniting with her All of My Heart and Crossword Mysteries co-star Brennan Elliot for the upcoming film His & Hers (which is the working title). The feature will mark the duo’s tenth project together across both Hallmark and Hallmark Movies & Mysteries. After starring in the AOMH trilogy between 2015 to 2018, they worked together again for five Crossword flicks from 2019 to 2021.

In the fan-favorite pair’s new flick, they will play married couple Dana and Mark, who are high-powered lawyers at two separate New York City law firms. Their lives are shaken up a bit after they find themselves on opposing sides of a messy divorce between two reality stars, who are unable to compromise. This puts the spouses in a “courtroom showdown that results in tensions infiltrating their otherwise happy household.” Both of the actors in the lead roles have proven they have great chemistry, so this latest outing for them should be a real treat for fans.

The new film is set to premiere as part of Hallmark’s annual Fall Into Love programming event later this year. An official premiere date has yet to be announced but, given the timing of the release, one would think that those details should arrive in the coming months. At this point, there are plenty of other upcoming Hallmark films to look forward to, including another one that Lacey Chabert will be starring in.

What Else Does Lacey Chabert Have Planned With Hallmark In 2024?

While some Hallmark stars have left the network for rival GAF, the Party of Five veteran doesn’t have plans to leave anytime soon. That is evident with her busy schedule. Along with His & Hers, she's working on her new unscripted series, Celebrations with Lacey Chabert. Also on the docket is her milestone 15th Hallmark holiday film, The Christmas Quest. I'm not sure how the veteran actress manages so many gigs, but I'm glad to see her staying booked and busy.

The Wild Thornberrys alum has starred in over 30 Hallmark movies, and she doesn’t seem to be slowing down any time soon. Whether she’s paired with someone new or a former co-star, it’s always exciting to see what’s next for her. Since she and Brennan Elliot are definitely a fan-favorite pair, I already imagine the two teaming up for something else after this latest flick. Plus, if His & Hers does well enough, perhaps a sequel could happen. It's something to think about, but it's probably best not to get too ahead of ourselves and just appreciate this newly announced collaboration.

Lacey Chabert is continues to be as busy as ever, thanks to her enduring string of Christmas movie gigs. At this point, she has become the new Queen of Christmas, especially following Candace Cameron Bure’s departure from Hallmark. It seems like Chabert isn't planning to relinquish her title at anytime soon as well, as she just landed another yuletide flick. Yet, surprisingly enough, her next holiday film has been announced, but surprisingly, it’s not for the TV network she's worked for for years now.

The Mean Girls alum took to Instagram to share that she has been cast in Hot Frosty -- a new romantic comedy from Netflix. In the movie, she'll star alongside the likes of Dustin Milligan, Joe Lo Truglio and Craig Robinson. According to Deadline, this holiday romp is centered on a widow who, in a magical turn of events, brings a charming snowman to life. The attractive and formerly frosty gentleman bonds with the woman, and the two unexpectedly begin falling for each other. Chabert expressed her excitement for the upcoming 2024 movie schedule entry, saying:

It’s been years since Lacey Chabert was last in a movie that was not produced for Hallmark. In the last decade, she’s done over 30 films for the network alone, with the majority of them being Christmas-themed. So it's honestly a bit jarring knowing that she's taking her talents to Netflix for her latest role. It's understandable, though, as the streamer has definitely been stepping up its holiday movie game in recent years. I'm intrigued by this new production though, as a fan of the family friendly TV network, I hope the actress continues to do plenty of work there.

A number of the star's friends and fellow Hallmark stars congratulated her on the big news. Her Party of Five co-stars Jennifer Aspen, Jennifer Love Hewitt, and Scott Wolf shared congratulatory replies, while Lacey Chabert's occasional Hallmark movie boyfriend, Will Kemp, showed his support by telling her he couldn’t wait to watch. Former Hallmark star Danica McKellar may be on rival network GAF, but she still congratulated her friend on the news alongside Candace Cameron Bure. Mean Girls star Daniel Franzese also sweet reacted, saying “yay!!!”

As of right now, a release date has yet to be announced for Hot Frosty, but it will be part of the 2024 holiday slate on Netflix. This means that fans will have even more Lacey Chabert to look forward to come the holiday season, which is great in my book. It’s unclear just how many holiday movies she'll be doing for Hallmark this year but, if she gets another Christmas double feature like in 2023, or possibly more, I certainly won't be complaining.

Those who plan to check out Hot Frosty when it debuts will want to grab a Netflix subscription, it’s certainly fun to see regardless. Hopefully, more information on the film, as well as on upcoming Hallmark movies for the Christmas season, will be revealed soon.

It can be a pretty thrilling thing for fans of a particular movie when its co-stars get together in real life, and anyone who was a fan of the late ‘90s-early ‘00s Disney franchise Halloweentown is experiencing that now, as Kimberly J. Brown married her Halloweentown II co-star Daniel Kountz in a gorgeous California ceremony surrounded by friends and family. Amongst those friends was bestie Lacey Chabert, and of course the duo made time for a sweet pic together.

Fans of Disney’s not-so-scary Halloween flicks — particularly Halloweentown II: Kalabar's Revenge — might remember that Kimberly J. Brown’s Marnie and Daniel Kountz’s Kal were enemies (albeit with a little flirtiness) in the 2001 TV movie. It apparently took the actors over a decade before they reunited and began dating. The pair made it official on April 19, with the actress sharing a beautiful photo from their wedding to Instagram: 

The happy couple looked fantastic in front of the picturesque backdrop, the bride in a strapless white gown with flowing skirt as she and her new husband were surrounded by white and pink flowers. I love that they were able to incorporate their pooch into the festivities too!

In the caption Kimberly J. Brown thanked everyone who helped to make their big day so special, including the family and friends who surrounded them with love. That included Hallmark queen Lacey Chabert, who was responsible for her friend’s bridal shower in March ahead of the nuptials. Brown and Chabert seemed to be having a great time at the reception, hitting the photo booth to make some fun memories, as the former Disney star shared to her Instagram Stories: 

Lacey Chabert wasn’t the only recognizable face at the Brown-Kountz wedding. Others who joined them in the photo booth included actresses Briana Cuoco and Amy Davidson, as well as former Bachelorette Ali Fedotowsky Manno.

This chapter in the love story between Kimberly J. Brown and Daniel Kountz was a long time in the making. Just like their characters didn’t think too highly of each other in Halloweentown II, there was apparently no romantic chemistry between the actors at the time. It wasn’t until over a decade later — when the two reunited for some comedy sketches on YouTube — that sparks started to fly.

It’s all the more reason it was so sweet of her to take time off her busy schedule to plan her BFF Kimberly J. Brown’s bridal shower. As the bride-to-be was all smiles at the event, I think it’s safe to say it was a mission accomplished for the Hallmark movie star. And you better believe the former Disney Channel star was more than grateful for her friend’s party planning as she posted this sweet comment:

News, Kountz said he let his future wife call most of the shots with his biggest input being the cake. But, of course, he said his favorite part of the day would be getting to marry his partner with the cake being a second. Clearly, the big day is getting closer because of the bridal shower from Chabert.

Hallmark is generally known for its feel-good Christmas romances — where happy endings are guaranteed and anything is possible with a good dose of holiday spirit — but the network actually premieres movies centered around different seasons and holidays throughout the year. One huge project that’s helped boost the network’s presence outside of Christmas is the enchanting Wedding Veil series starring three of the network’s biggest stars — Lacey Chabert, Alison Sweeney and Autumn Reeser. So after two trilogies in back-to-back years, will we see a third set of movies? We will if Sweeney has anything to say about it.

Alison Sweeney spoke to CinemaBlend recently about her latest Hallmark movie, Love & Jane, which is part of the network’s “Loveuary” celebration of Jane Austen. While Hallmark aired The Wedding Veil trilogies in 2022 and 2023, no such movie trio was announced for 2024, so I asked Sweeney if there was a chance she might reprise the role of Tracy in the future, and it sounds like good news for those who were disappointed they didn’t get to see the college friends reunite for their annual antiquing trip. Sweeney said: 

It sounds like nothing has been set in stone, if at this point Alison Sweeney’s only heard about people discussing the possibility of more Wedding Veil movies. But it’s promising that 1) those conversations are being had, and 2) it sounds like Sweeney, Lacey Chabert and Autumn Reeser are all down to continue their characters' stories.

The Wedding Veil series was what Lacey Chabert called “a longtime dream,” and not only did viewers love seeing the three Hallmark stalwarts share the screen, the franchise also allowed them to break out of the formulaic structure of your typical TV rom-com by showing the three main characters’ relationships after their respective weddings.

The first trilogy aired in early 2022, with three college friends — Avery, Emma and Tracy — finding a vintage veil that’s said to bring love to anyone who owns it. The first movie followed Avery and Peter (Lacey Chabert and Kevin McGarry), which was followed by The Wedding Veil Unveiled (centered around Autumn Reeser’s Emma and Paolo Bernardini’s Paolo), and finally The Wedding Veil Legacy starring Alison Sweeney as Tracy and Victor Webster as Nick.

Each couple headlined a follow-up movie in January 2023, with the second trilogy comprising The Wedding Veil Expectations, The Wedding Veil Inspiration and The Wedding Veil Journey.

Hopefully we haven’t seen the last of these characters, and Alison Sweeney is keeping hope alive that The Wedding Veil team can reunite. In the meantime, though, we’re likely to see the actresses continue popping up in other Hallmark projects. Check your listings for re-airings of Sweeney’s Love & Jane, and see what other premieres are coming soon with our 2024 TV schedule. 

It may be 2024 now, but it feels like 2004 with the way Mean Girls is taking over, and not just with the new musical feature with Reneé Rapp. O.G. Gretchen Wieners herself, Lacey Chabert, continues earning her title as Queen of Hallmark, as proven by her Countdown to Christmas doubleheader, but she's not the only Mean Girls vet winning over cable audiences. Jonathan Bennett has been stealing hearts since portraying Aaron Samuels in the teen drama, and continues to do so in Hallmark’s first gay-led Christmas movie The Holiday Sitter. Now he’s responding to potentially starring in a future movie with Chabert, as well as someone else who's very close to his heart.

Bennett also had a contribution for Countdown to Christmas 2023 was the film Christmas on Cherry Lane, and it's hopefully just a matter of time before the two former co-stars show up in a Hallmark movie together. Talking to GLAAD, Bennett left no mystery in his own interest level, saying:

Seeing Aaron Samuels and Gretchen Wieners in a movie together yet again would definitely be a dream come true, no matter where it happens. This isn’t the first time that Jonathan Bennett talked reuniting with Lacey Chabert, as he previously told E! News that he thinks they’re “gonna do one someday," and says he thinks "we’re just looking for the right one." 

So everything still sounds promising on that front, and it doesn’t seem like either will be leaving Hallmark for GAF as certain other stars have. So they have all the time in the world, relatively speaking. 

On top of possibly co-starring with Chabert in the future, Bennett also admitted he would love to bring his husband Jaymes Vaughan into the, and he's not even necessarily aiming for his hubby of one year to land a lead role. The Fire Island star has a fitting idea for his musical beau, saying:

Considering Jonathan Bennett is starring in more LGBTQ+ movies for Hallmark, having his husband star alongside him or at least make a cameo of some sort would be perfect. Maybe the couple and Chabert could be in a movie together. However, just like what the actor previously said, it would have to be the right movie for them to do. It may take some time, but the interest is definitely there. The year did just begin, but maybe 2024 will be the year that Bennett not only does a movie with his husband in some way, shape, or form but with his Mean Girls co-star as well.

While a movie may not be happening any time soon, it’s not like Bennett and Chabert don’t ever see each other. The two reunited at Christmas Con 2022 and looked as if no time had passed between them. There are other upcoming Hallmark movies to look forward to that the duo will likely be in, just not together, which may be the best thing fans will be getting. At least for now. It would be so fetch if they did a movie together, but there is always the original Mean Girls.
