Former Glee cast member Lea Michele has been the subject of a rumor that she can’t read. It started in 2018 when a 40-minute video, “Lea Michele is Illiterate” was posted, which made theories that the American actress was illiterate. This was based on Glee co-star Naya Rivera’s memoir claiming that Michele refused to improvise her lines on the Fox series and other kinds of “evidence.” The video went viral on TikTok five years later and became a long-running meme. The Scream Queens actress finally addresses those wild rumors, but I’m not sure the internet will let this go.

In the past, Lea Michele has gotten real about the internet rumors of being illiterate, saying that she knew her lines on Glee (which can be streaming on your Hulu subscription) every single day. On an episode of Therapuss with Jake Shane, the Emmy nominee wasn’t having it, where she expressed her disbelief at still talking about this rumor “all these years later” and that it couldn’t be further from the truth:

I never for a second would have believed those bonkers rumors that Lea Michele couldn’t read. In fact, the talented actress credited her “photographic memory” for being able to successfully memorize her lines to play Rachel Berry. There’s no way you could be a grown working star on TV and Broadway and not be able to able to read your script or sheet music. While Michele was homeschooled when she was around 11 when she performed in Ragtime, she did have a high school education at Tenafly High School, where she was on the volleyball team, choir, and debate team, as she said.

Sadly, I feel like all of the evidence in the world wouldn’t be enough for internet users to believe that Lea Michele is literate. It’s like people would prefer to listen to TikTok conspiracy theories compared to the truth straight out of the actress’s mouth. In order to further prove her point, Michele took Jake Shane’s flashcards on the episode and read them out loud beautifully. Not a single stutter. But, the “Cannonball” singer predicted that people online will speculate that Shane “called her in advance” to “memorize” those cards.

As unfortunate as it is that Lea Michele has gotten caught up in the rumor mill about being illiterate, she’s tackled other previous speculation battles before. Back in 2016, after Ok! Magazine said the New Year’s Eve actress had an unhealthy binge eating habit, Michele responded through laughter and an overdramatic reading of the article. She was also the subject of backlash when Glee co-star Samantha Ware alleged Michele made the TV set intolerable, which inspired other performers from the show to chime in their thoughts on the Funny Girl actress. She responded by returning to Instagram, saying she was sorry for her “shortcomings” and would reflect on “any pain” her actions on the Ryan Murphy show may have caused.

Lea Michele should not have had to prove on Therapuss with Jake Shane that she could read. But now that she has, hopefully the internet will finally drop this rumor about her being illiterate. But even if internet users are stubborn and will still come up with “evidence-based” conspiracy theories about the Golden Globe nominee, at least Michele can reclaim some control over the narrative and laugh about the outlandish rumor.

The Oscars Slap

Starting us off was the slap heard ‘round the world—a.k.a. The Oscars Slap. 

Following a joke from host Chris Rock that poked fun at Jada Pinkett Smith’s alopecia, her husband (and the evening’s winner for Best Actor in a Leading Role), Will Smith, marched on stage and slapped Rock across the face.

Collectively, I don’t know if the world has ever been more unified in a moment of “is this a bit or not?” immediately followed by, “Oh shit, it’s not.”

Much of the resulting exchange between Rock and Smith was censored out of live broadcasts, but the unedited footage had already been immortalized online. This story captured the real news cycle for days, but it also gave birth to some of the best memes from 2022.

The Don’t Worry Darling Drama

The drama behind the scenes of Don't Worry Darling was a huge point of celebrity gossip in 2022, thanks to director Olivia Wilde’s romance with leading man, Harry Styles. Their relationship was always the subject of scrutiny, since public favor tended to side with Wilde’s ex, Jason Sudeikis.

The drama took a hard left turn when Wilde shared that she felt forced to fire Shia LaBeouf, who had been the original star of her film. LaBeouf came back with receipts: a video from Wilde to himself, practically begging him to continue filming and speaking kind of unfavorably about costar Florence Pugh. Rumors, of course, began to swirl about tension on set between Wilde and Pugh.

The whole circus came to a head at the Venice Film Festival, where “spitgate” had the whole world wondering if Styles actually spit on co-star Chris Pine. All that drama for a movie that only has 39% on Rotten Tomatoes.

Kim & Pete

A newly-single Kim Kardashian first met Pete Davidson while hosting an October 2021 episode of Saturday Night Live. The two shared their first kiss during a sketch as Jasmine and Aladdin—and much to everyone’s surprise, were photographed spending time together off set soon after.

Kardashian and Davidson attended the Met Gala Together, and he was even featured on episodes of The Kardashians on Hulu. They’ve since broken up, but their relationship was iconic mostly because everyone loved seeing the SKIMS founder smiling and having fun during a messy divorce.

Eras Tour Broke Ticketmaster

The Eras tour fiasco wasn’t the first time Ms. Taylor Alison Swift came under fire this year—this past summer, we learned that her private-jet use essentially makes her an eco-terrorist. But, more drama found the singer/songwriter after the release of her most recent studio album, Midnights.

The album was a hit with fans, who hadn’t been able to see Swift live in concert since her Reputation tour in 2018—that’s four new albums and two re-records ago. So when Swift announced Eras, a tour that would serve as a celebration of her entire discography, it’s safe to say public interest was high.

Swifties flocked to Ticketmaster to claim presale tickets—but the site was forced to announce later in the day that traffic to the site had essentially “broken” their Verified Fan system and there were no tickets left for the general public sale (other than the ones resellers are currently asking thousands and thousands of dollars for).

The event literally caused Congress to launch an antitrust investigation on Ticketmaster’s parent company, Live Nation, making the Eras tour presale a tragic but iconic 2022 moment.

Amber Heard & Johnny Depp’s Lawsuit

A courtroom in Virginia became the focal point of the entire country during the lawsuit and countersuit between Johnny Depp and ex-wife Amber Heard.

So many juicy details came out of this trial, but the real spectacle was some of the unusual lines of questioning used by Heard’s lawyers during the trial (the Amicream line of questioning was wild).

Everyone and their mom became a legal expert during this trial, but it was another weirdly unifying moment of “schadenfreude” that brought us all together.

Rihanna’s Baby Bump

I think the world collectively held our breath when Rihanna announced her pregnancy with A$AP Rocky—if anyone is going to absolutely rock maternity, it’s Rhi. 

As expected, Rihanna showed off her baby bump proudly in 2022 until her son was born in June. Rather than disguise her tummy, the singer and beauty mogul basically treated her bump as the world’s best accessory.

Rihanna’s pregnant energy completely matched a quote from Alexa Demie’s character in Euphoria: “I wouldn't wear any of those nasty maternity clothes. I would just be me, plus pregnant.”

J-Lo And Ben Affleck Got Married

Capping off a decades-long saga with a happy ending, Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck rekindled their relationship and tied the knot in 2022.

This A-list marriage is a perfect dose of nostalgia for people who were fans of the couple when they first dated in 2003—plus I think everyone just likes to see two people finding their way back together.

Kim Wore Marilyn Monroe’s Dress To The Met Gala

Come on, of course Kimmy was responsible for two of the most iconic moments of 2022!

The Kardashians star made her aforementioned appearance with Pete Davidson at the 2022 Met Gala wearing Marilyn Monroe’s dress—not a copy of her dress, but the actual piece Monroe herself wore to JFK’s birthday party in 1962.

The look sparked controversy, with some saying the dress is a piece of history that should be preserved and others still calling out the crash diet she had to go through to fit into the garment. 

Love the idea or hate it, you have to admit: We’re still talking about it. And isn’t that the whole point anyway?

Lea Michele’s Return To Broadway

If you weren’t online for the Funny Girl drama, strap in. Beanie Feldstein was cast as Fanny Brice in 2021 for the revival of the Broadway show—but after the production was snubbed at the Tony Awards, Feldstein announced in June that her final show would be on September 25.

However, Feldstein later took to Instagram to share that she wouldn’t actually be staying until September: she was leaving the show earlier than expected, and her last show would be at the end of July. Almost immediately following her announcement, the production came forward to announce that Lea Michele would be taking over the role of Fanny Brice.

Michele came under fire a little bit when people started to suggest she had “Rachel Berry-ed” her way into the part—after all, she previously worked with Funny Girl’s director on Spring Awakening, and shared in an interview that she and the director had discussed Feldstein’s role in the show over drinks. We obviously don’t know what was said behind the scenes, but the whole thing felt like an IRL replay of Michele’s Broadway-hungry character on Glee.

Jenna Ortega’s Wednesday Dance

Completely dominating everyone’s FYP this December was Jenna Ortega’s dance routine in Tim Burton’s Wednesday. The show has been a huge hit (especially with YA viewers), and it’s clear that Ortega’s charming-but-creepy portrayal of Wednesday Addams is the secret to Wednesday’s popularity.

Ortega choreographed Wednesday’s now-iconic dance to The Cramps’ Goo Goo Muck herself, drawing inspiration from goth culture, Fosse, and past iterations of Wednesday’s dance stylings. The scene went totally viral, with basically everyone feeling the need to recreate Ortega’s spooky choreography.

Heidi Klum’s Worm Costume

Supermodel Heidi Klum is known for her unusual Halloween costumes—in the past, she’s dressed as Princess Fiona from Shrek, Jessica Rabbit, and an old lady, all complete with prosthetics and makeup that make her unrecognizable. But the former Project Runway judge really outdid herself this year with a larger-than-life worm costume.

But, it gets better: it’s a COUPLES costume, with Klum’s husband, Tom Kaulitz, dressed as the fisherman with the worm on his hook:

Every year Heidi Klum’s Halloween costumes remind me that you don’t have to take yourself too seriously, and the worm costume was no exception. It also gives a whole new meaning to the “would you still love me if I were a worm” trend.

Elon Musk Bought Twitter

In one of the more cringe-worthy moments of 2022, billionaire Elon Musk made the decision to buy Twitter. Then unmade the decision. Then made it again. Seriously, I got whiplash from all the back and forth.

Ultimately Musk did go through with buying Twitter and immediately went to work making “improvements” to the site. For example, there was a period of several lawless days where any Twitter user could pay to be verified, leading to a frenzy of users impersonating celebrities, corporations, and Musk himself.

All in all, Musk’s net worth fell by $9 billion—yes, that’s BILLION—as a result of his quest to “make Twitter funny again.” And honestly? That is pretty funny to me.

Ryan Murphy is one of the most notable television producers working today. He is the mastermind behind FOX's Glee, 9-1-1, and Scream Queens, and has produced a number of series for FX, including American Horror Story and American Crime Story, as well as Pose. In 2018, Murphy signed a $300 million deal with Netflix that resulted in a number of successful shows for the streamer, like The Politician, Ratched, and most recently Dahmer – Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story and The Watcher. The latter two are a couple of the most popular series streaming right now.

There are several reasons for Murphy's success, including genre-bending entertainment, kooky characters, and outlandish storytelling that always intrigues. However, many cite his casts and frequent collaborators for tending to elevate the material. Here is a list of some of the most frequent and reliable collaborators who Murphy relies on for his fan-favorite television series.

Sarah Paulson

Sarah Paulson seems to find her way into almost every Ryan Murphy-produced endeavor. She has played a variety of characters on almost every season of American Horror Story, excluding Season 9, 1984. Her roles on the anthology series have ranged from a starring role as Ana Winters in Asylum and Roanoke, to a guest appearance in Murder House. 

She also starred in the hit Netflix show, Ratched, and American Crime Story: The People vs. OJ Simpson, for which she won an Emmy for playing lawyer Marcia Clark. In addition, Paulson played supporting roles in Feud: Bette and Joan, and American Crime Story: Impeachment, for which she received yet another Emmy nomination. The actress has collaborated with Murphy since the very beginning, when she played a guest role on Nip/Tuck. 

Evan Peters

Evan Peters is yet another darling of Murphy's. He has starred in nine seasons of American Horror Story, only excluding 1984 and New York City. Like Paulson, Peters' AHS roles have ranged from centerpiece characters like Tate from Murder House, to more experimental seasons like Cult and Apocalypse where the actor has portrayed multiple characters throughout. 

He also acted as a producer for the Double Feature season. In addition to AHS, Peters plays Stan Bowes, a member of the Trump Organization on the FX series, Pose.  Most notably, he plays the titular role in Netflix's Dahmer – Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story, for which he received a Golden Globe nomination. 

Darren Criss

Darren Criss has been a Murphy favorite since his Glee performance as Blaine, the a cappella-singing love interest to Chris Colfer's Kurt. He switched things up by following that with The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story, where he played the leading role, serial killer Andrew Cunanan. His performance was critically acclaimed and he swept the awards' circuit. He went on to work with Murphy again in Hollywood. In addition, Criss guest starred in an episode of AHS: Hotel.

Jessica Lange

Jessica Lange is yet another favorite. The Oscar winning actress has participated in five seasons of American Horror Story, most notably, Murder House, Coven, Freak Show, and Asylum, and makes a guest appearance in Apocalypse. She also had a starring role in FX's Feud: Bette and Joan, where she played Joan Crawford. In addition, Lange plays the cunning grandmother to Zoey Deutch in The Politician. She is also set to star in another Murphy-led project about Marlene Dietrich for Netflix, so even if she's done with AHS, there is more Lange/Murphy to come. 

Emma Roberts

Nothing says Ryan Murphy like Emma Roberts, who is yet another American Horror Story alum. She participated in five seasons of the FX show, including Coven, Freak Show, Apocalypse, and 1984, while also making a single episode appearance in Cult. In addition, Roberts was the lead in the sorority horror show, Scream Queens, which ran for three seasons. 

Kathy Bates

Kathy Bates is yet another Oscar winner who caught Murphy's eye. The Misery actress starred in five seasons of American Horror Story, including her iconic, bone-chilling character in Coven, for which she won an Emmy, and the fan-favorite evil concierge, Iris, in Hotel. Bates also continued her collaboration by playing Joan Blondell in Feud: Bette and Joan.

Dylan McDermott

Dylan McDermott is another familiar face for Murphy fans. The actor is one of the original stars of American Horror Story, and participated in five seasons, including AHS: Asylum. He is best known for his performance as the father of a problematic family in Murder House, which the season is centered around. He also plays a scandalous gas-station owner in the Murphy-produced Hollywood and makes an appearance in Netflix's The Politician.

Angela Bassett

Angela Bassett is another favorite of the creator's. She is the star of FOX's 9-1-1, where she plays the badass Athena Grant. She has also made an appearance on the spin-off show, 9-1-1: Lone Star. In addition, Basset has been in a grand total of five seasons of American Horror Story. Most notably, in Coven, she portrays a fictionalized version Marie Laveau, the Voodoo Queen of New Orleans. She reprised the role for Apocalypse. 

Finn Wittrock

Finn Wittrock has found his way into numerous Murphy projects, including five seasons of American Horror Story. He made his AHS debut in Freak Show, where his incredibly disturbed character earned him an Emmy nomination. He has gone on to appear in The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story and Netflix's Ratched. In addition, he plays a supporting role in the Murphy-directed television film, The Normal Heart. 

Patti LuPone

Nobody loves Broadway like Murphy, so it makes sense that Patti LuPone would be featured in many of his projects. LuPone participated in two seasons of American Horror Story, Coven and NYC, as well as more glamorous roles in Pose and Hollywood. The Broadway legend also makes a cameo appearance in Glee, where she plays herself.  

Matt Bomer

Who doesn't love Matt Bomer? Ryan Murphy sure does. The White Collar star has made a number of appearances in the showrunner's projects, including three seasons of American Horror Story. He had small roles in Freak Show and Stories, and most notably had a major role as Lady Gaga's lover in Hotel. Bomer has a major role in The Normal Heart and Boys in the Band, and makes brief appearances in The New Normal and Glee. He also got behind the camera, directing an episode of American Crime Story: Versace. 

Leslie Grossman

Leslie Grossman has worked with Ryan Murphy since the early days of Nip/Tuck. The actress had minor roles in his short-lived series, Popular, and The New Normal, and additionally starred in five seasons of American Horror Story, and has had leading roles in every season she's been in. She continues to be apart of the show, and was a definite stand out in the Season 11 cast.

Jim Parsons

When Jim Parsons left The Big Bang Theory, he made it a point to work with Ryan Murphy. The actor has had starring roles in films like The Boys in the Band and The Normal Heart, and plays the predatory manager to Rock Hudson in Netflix's Hollywood. The role was something very different for Parsons, but Murphy has a talent for drawing out performances from actors playing against type. 

Billie Lourd

Billie Lourd is another young actress Murphy has taken under his wing. The Star Wars actress started her collaboration with the producer in Scream Queens, where she played one of the killer sorority girls. She subsequently starred in six seasons of American Horror Story, playing a main role in most, including NYC, the most recent season. 

Connie Britton

Before The White Lotus, Connie Britton was a staple in the Ryan Murphy Universe. She is most known for her performance as Vivien Harmon in Murder House, a role she reprised in Apocalypse that landed her an Emmy nomination. She was also a fan favorite in 9-1-1, where she played a 911 operator. In addition, she played Faye Resnick, a friend of Nicole Brown Simpson in The People v. O. J. Simpson: American Crime Story. 

Lea Michele

Some would say Ryan Murphy made Lea Michele a star when he cast her as Rachel Berry in the musical teen comedy, Glee. She became one of the most recognizable stars from the show, and the role earned her both Emmy and Golden Globe nominations. She also dawned a neck brace as an unconventional sorority girl in Scream Queens. 

Clearly Murphy has his favorites, and continues to work with the same reliable, talented actors in order to make his projects as binge-worthy as possible. Other notable collaborators include stars like Gwyneth Paltrow, Julia Roberts, Frances Conroy, Lily Rabe, Adina Porter, Cheyenne Jackson, Neil Patrick Harris, Jane Lynch, and John Stamos. Much like a lot of Glee stars, Chris Colfer seems to have issues with Lea Michele. As the actress made her return to Broadway in Funny Girl the response from her former co-workers is mixed. Now, Colfer, who played Kurt on the musical show, has spoken about his feelings regarding his co-star and if he will see her show on Broadway.

This all went down when Colfer appeared as a guest on The Michelle Collins Show. The host asked the actor if he’d be seeing Funny Girl while he was in New York City. Colfer responded by saying his “day just got full,” and then he mentioned that he had seen the musical Six the night before and loved it. Collins then asked again if he’d be seeing it, and Colfer told her (via EW): 

Colfer is not the first to respond like this when asked about Michele. Two years ago Samantha Ware spoke out saying while she was on Glee the actress behind Rachel Berry made her first job “a living hell.” And she called Michele out for “traumatic microaggressions.” After that more cast members, including Heather Morris, spoke out against the actress. Morris played Brittany Pierce in every season and said that the Funny Girl star “should be called out.” 

Not long after all of this, Michele issued an apology. Before Michele took the stage as Fanny earlier this summer, she did mention her past. In an interview with NYT she noted that the “pressure of perfectionism” left her with “a lot of blind spots.” 

In the years that followed Michele being called out, she wasn’t seen in much, until this summer. She was announced as Beanie Feldstein’s replacement in the revival of Funny Girl on Broadway. 

The article noted that Kevin McHale, who played Artie Abrams in all six seasons of Glee, hasn't talked to Michele in a while. He also said he has not really thought about seeing Funny Girl, but hadn’t ruled it out. Meanwhile, Jenna Ushkowitz, who played Tina Cohen-Chang in every season of Glee said while she wants to see the show she has not talked to its lead about it. 

While quite a few Glee stars have said they are no longer in contact with and don’t plan on seeing Michele, others have gone to see her belt her heart out on Broadway. Jonathan Groff, who starred in Spring Awakening and Glee with Michele is a very good friend of hers, and he was at her opening night for Funny Girl, along with Ryan Murphy, the creator of Glee. 

Also, Darren Criss, who played Blaine Anderson on Glee has been to see Michele in Funny Girl. The two have remained friends in the years following the Fox musical show. The actress even attended his wedding in New Orleans along with a few other Glee stars. 

While many Glee stars likely won’t see their former co-star on Broadway, her show has been getting good reviews. While Colfer likely won't be seeing his former co-star on the stage, you can catch Funny Girl currently on Broadway, and you can watch all six seasons of Glee with a Disney+ subscription. 

Lea Michele has finally landed a gig that she’s been eyeing for some time now. The Glee alum has returned to Broadway, where she’s playing the lead role in the highly anticipated revival of Funny Girl. While many had mostly been speculating as to whether she’ll nail the role, a strange claim has also been circulating as of late. The rumor alleges that Michele cannot read, (and the Internet has been having a field day with it). With that, in the midst of her debut in the show, the star got an unexpected laugh, courtesy of the reading claim. 

Lea Michele made her debut on Tuesday at the August Wilson Theatre in New York. All in all, the star has received praise for playing Fanny Brice, a role originated by Barbra Streisand in 1964. However, during the show, there was apparently one piece of dialogue that garnered a surprising laugh from the audience. It would seem that show attendees cracked up when Michele uttered the “I haven’t read many books” line while in character. Twitter user @bequietjoe was in attendance and made note of the moment in a post:

Anyone who’s seen the show surely knows that the line has long been a part of the script. But it’s hard not to see the irony of its significance now, given the gossip surrounding the current leading lady. While the attendees purportedly had a good laugh over the line, the situation as a whole hasn’t been a laughing matter for the actress herself. 

Reports of Lea Michele’s alleged illiteracy first entered the public consciousness a few years ago after her late Glee co-star, Naya Rivera, wrote about her in her memoir. The claims made their way to the Internet once again around the time that it was reported that the Scream Queens alum would replace Beanie Feldstein in Funny Girl. Michele has since responded to the Internet rumors, stating she “knew [her] lines every single day” while working on the hit Fox dramedy and that the array of assumptions are “sad.”

This wouldn’t be the first time that Lea Michelle’s co-stars have implied things or made formal accusations against her. In 2020, Samantha Ware claimed that Michele made the set intolerable and subjected her to a number of “traumatic microaggressions.” Several other Glee stars subsequently spoke out, offering their own takes on how she behaved on set. Shortly after the backlash, Michele issued a formal apology.

Despite this latest rumor hovering over her head, the actress has received praise for her work on Funny Girl this far. People reports that she received four standing ovations before the intermission. As of right now, it’s unclear as to when she’ll take her final bow as Fanny Brice but, until that happens, one has to wonder if other theater-goers will have the same type of response when she says the “read” line.

While she has apologized for some of what her castmates have talked about, she hasn’t really discussed some of the rumors... until recently, when she spoke about the rumor that she can't read.

This quote comes after explaining that she is learning how to be “publicly vulnerable.” She said she feels that if she were to respond to these rumors and criticism she would only add more fuel to the fire. 

In the past, the Glee star has been publicly called out for her actions on the set of the show. Samantha Ware called Michele out on Twitter, saying that she made her time on the show a “living hell,” giving examples of the “traumatic microaggressions” she dealt with. Heather Morris, who played Brittany on Glee, spoke about Michele as well. However, after some time passed, Morris also said she noticed Michele trying to be better, and Michele apologized for her behavior in 2020. 

Now, in the same interview, she acknowledged her intense work style: 

Since Funny Girl was announced, speculation over Lea Michele playing the lead role has been a part of the conversation. Ultimately, Beanie Feldstein, of Booksmart fame, got the role. However, after mixed reviews, Feldstein announced an early departure from the show. Not long after, Funny Girl posted that its newest Fanny would be Michele. 

This announcement comes after her return to the stage for the reunion of Spring Awakening, which was turned into a documentary on HBO Max. The documentary highlights the now famous cast including Michele, Jonathan Groff, and Skylar Astin by showing them singing some of the hits from Spring Awakening. It also told behind-the-scenes stories, including how badly Michele wanted a Tony, and how mad she was when she wasn’t nominated. 

The reunion was the first time Michele had been back on the stage in a long time. Now, as a new mom, her priorities have shifted. She said she has had to learn how to tap dance from square one, and has been learning how to balance being a wife, mother and the lead of a big musical:

Actress Jamie Lee Curtis has been in the public eye for decades, and she’s currently on a roll with a mixture of film projects, TV appearances, and charity work. The Halloween icon recently went viral on social media for a clip from her podcast Good Friend with Jamie Lee Curtis. And Curtis’ perceived dig at Glee’s Lea Michele from that clip is totally being taken out of context.

Back in October of 2021, Jamie Lee Curtis’ podcast Good Friend released an episode featuring actors Lea Michele and Jonathan Groff. The episode was about the unique bond they formed while originating roles in the Broadway musical Spring Awakening, and how that friendship continued in their work on Glee up until this day. The clip that’s been going around Twitter can be seen below, where Curtis makes a friendly joke about Michele not getting a Tony nomination for her work. Check it out,

This clip quickly went viral, with plenty of Twitter users responding with memes about how “savage” Jamie Lee Curtis was in that moment. This comes shortly after the actress’ appearance on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills similarly broke the internet. But while folks on social media are giving JLC props for throwing shade, it’s far from malicious if you actually listen to the episode of Good Friend with Jamie Lee Curtis. 

Prior to this viral exchange between the three actors, Lea Michele and Jonathan Groff were telling Jamie Lee Curtis the story about one of the biggest fights of their long friendship. It was all related to the 2007 Tony Awards, where Spring Awakening and Groff were given nominations but Michele was noticeably snubbed. Michele told the story while laughing about it, saying:

Jonathan Groff confirmed this anecdote, joking the debate starts up once or twice a year between the pair. Jamie Lee Curtis and Lea Michele have a previous relationship working together on Ryan Murphy’s Scream Queens, and the Knives Out actress pokes fun at her co-star plenty of times throughout the podcast episode. Michele got in on the fun by offering more details about how silly their quarrel was, saying:

This segment of the podcast comes to a close with the exchange that’s gone viral on Twitter. But it’s clear that Jamie Lee Curtis wasn’t trying to make Lea Michele feel bad about her Tony snub. Instead, it was just another riff the trio made about how silly the feud with Jonathan Groff was. 

As previously mentioned, Jamie Lee Curtis recently went viral for her appearance on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alongside Halloween co-star Kyle Richards. While raising money for her charity My Hand In Yours, a clip of cast member Dorit Kemsley freaking over official merchandise has been made into countless memes. This probably contributed to this old clip from Good Friend suddenly making the rounds online.

Every few years a Broadway show opens and becomes a full-blown sensation. Years before Hamilton did that, Duncan Sheik’s Spring Awakening opened and became an anthem for young people everywhere. A new documentary about the musical called Those You’ve Known has recently been released, including one very intimate story shared by Lea Michele and Jonathan Groff (whose careers were launched by the show). And the film’s director spoke to CinemaBlend about that infamous vagina interview.

Prior to Those You’ve Known’s release, a story from the film started circulating around the internet. Namely the time that Lea Michele showed Jonathan Groff her genitals so he could properly understand the female anatomy. I recently had the privilege of speaking with director Michael John Warren about the Spring Awakening doc, where he explained how that viral interview moment happened with the two stars. As he told me,

He’s got a point. In Those You’ve Known, Jonathan Groff seems truly gobsmacked that Lea Michele shared such an intimate story about their friendship. It all makes for a truly hilarious sequence in the film, and shows how some aspects of Spring Awakening carried through to their relationship off stage. Indeed, Michael John Warren cited the “love story” shared between Groff and Michele as one of the movie’s biggest plot points during our chat.

Lea Michele and Jonathan Groff became lifelong friends after originating the roles of Wendla and Melchior in Spring Awakening’s original Broadway cast. The two have regularly shared intimate stories about how this friendship bloomed, and the ways it manifested into their adulthood. So in some ways Michael John Warren had to simply turn on the camera and let the pair speak about each other in order to find captivating footage.

Later in my same interview with Warren, he gave credit to Lea Michele for being such an open book during Those You’ve Known. He maintains that the (somewhat controversial) Glee star makes for a particularly great interview, thanks to how naturally open she is. As he told me,

These interviews are a large part of what makes Those You’ve Known such a great watch. The film tells the story of Spring Awakening’s original road to Broadway, as well as the rehearsal process that came before their 2021 reunion concert. And through it all Lea Michele and Jonathan Groff share their treasured memories from back in the day.

Every few years a Broadway musical will arrive on the Great White Way that truly becomes a sensation. Years before Hamilton did just that, Duncan Sheik’s angsty rock show Spring Awakening blew up, launching the careers of actors like Jonathan Groff, Lea Michele, and John Gallagher Jr.. The original Broadway cast reunited for a benefit concert in 2021, while also filming a documentary about the show with award winning filmmaker Michael John Warren. That project is titled Those You’ve Known, and Warren recently revealed the “brutal” process of cutting beloved Spring Awakening songs for the HBO documentary.

Ahead of the release of Those You’ve Known, I had the privilege of speaking with Michael John Warren about his process filming and editing the film. The documentary masterfully weaves together multiple stories, with Spring Awakening’s cast reflecting on its journey to the stage, intercut with footage of them rehearsing and eventually performing in the reunion concert. But a few songs didn’t make the cut, including gay love song “The Word Of Your Body (Reprise).” I asked Warren about whether Ersnt and Hanschen’s big duet was shot for the doc, and he responded with:

Well, there you have it. There simply isn’t enough time to include every single Spring Awakening song while also telling the non-sung story of Those You’ve Known. So in the end Michael John Warren and company had to say goodbye to certain tracks, and in record time. But perhaps the deleted scenes could end up being released sometime in the future? One can only hope. 

Of course, “The Word of Your Body (Reprise)" wasn’t the only beloved Spring Awakening song that was ultimately cut from Those You’ve Known. “The Mirror-Blue Night” is noticeably absent, as is Wendla’s Act II ballad “Whispering.”  In our same conversation about the doc, Michael John Warren mentioned the latter song’s absence, saying:

Deleted scenes are simply a part of the film world, and especially when two act Broadway musicals are shot for film. We saw this in recent movie musicals like Dear Evan Hansen and In The Heights, which cut fan favorite songs in order to make the story movie-length. It’s this concern that ultimately convinced Wicked movie director John M. Chu to make two different movies for the upcoming film adaptation.

It was nearly a year ago that accusations of Lea Michele bullying on the set of Glee first went public due to claims made by Michele's former co-star Samantha Ware, and Ware was later backed up by other former Glee stars including Amber Amber Riley, Alex Newell, and Heather Morris. Now, Morris has come out with further comments about Michele's behavior on set of the hit Fox show, but Michele's focus seems to be on her family for the time being.

Just one day after Heather Morris spoke up with more accusations against Lea Michele, Michele took to Instagram to post a photo with a message that her "heart is so full" as a new mom, with another former Glee star pictured holding her son. Take a look:

The photo shows Glee actor Darren Criss (who went on to win an Emmy for a follow-up role on The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story) holding Lea Michele's son, Ever Leo Reich, who will turn 1 in August. The duo reunited for a duet back in 2017, and it's clear that the friendship has endured since then. To contrast, in Heather Morris' interview on the Everything Iconic with Danny Pellegrino podcast, the actress/singer/dancer revealed that she hasn't heard from Michele.

Heather Morris' initial comments about Lea Michele after the bullying accusations first began to fly back in June 2020 condemned hate as "a disease in America" and said that Michele was "unpleasant to work with" and treated others with "disrespect," but also said that it's "on us" for allowing "it to go on for so long without speaking out." Morris also said that she "cannot comment on" Michele's belief in response to accusations of Michele having racist beliefs.

Now, in a podcast interview that went live on May 26, Heather Morris clarified her comments and elaborated, saying:

According to Heather Morris, Lea Michele's pregnancy was a factor in how she chose her words about the accusations of bullying at the time in 2020, and she still believes that members of the cast could have spoken up about the situation. She also credits Glee co-star Naya Rivera for her honesty on the situation. Rivera passed away in 2020 after drowning in a lake in California, although not before saving the life of her young son and receiving an outpouring of support from fellow Glee cast members.

When asked if there was a specific incident that stands out in her mind about Lea Michele's behavior on the set of Glee, Heather Morris explained:

Heather Morris' comments about Lea Michele trying "to become better" and periods of being close and not "as close" suggest that there were changes in Michele's behavior over the years. Michele was also in a relationship with Glee's Cory Monteith at the time of his death back in 2013, and was actually the one to break the news of his passing to his mother. She has continued to share tributes to Monteith over the years since, including one in 2020 that honored both Monteith and Naya Rivera.

Lea Michele hasn't responded to Heather Morris' comments at the time of writing, but the Instagram photo of her with Darren Criss and her son (which follows an image that she shared of longtime friend, co-star, and Hamilton's King George actor Jonathan Groff with her son earlier in the week) indicates that she's focusing on family for now.

Glee is a series that had a strong start, but then kind of slipped off. However, it’s a series that, whether you love or hate it, has forever made its mark on the television world. It produced tons of memorable musical moments and made stars of its cast, including Lea Michele, Naya Rivera, Amber Riley, and Darren Criss. The Glee cast includes many actors and actresses who went on to have successful careers beyond the series.

Show creator Ryan Murphy assembled a talented bunch of young actors who likely have a long future in the show business world. Let’s take a look at what the Glee cast has been up to since the series ended.

Lea Michele (Rachel Berry)

Rachel Berry was the, slightly annoying overachiever whose talent spoke for itself. Even if Rachel wasn’t the most likable character, you respected her talent and drive. Lea Michele stayed within Ryan Murphy’s orbit after Glee, appearing in his horror-comedy Scream Queens as Hester. After Screen Queens was canceled after two seasons, Michele had a lead role on The Mayor. That series was also canceled after one season.

Lea Michele released two solo albums post-Glee, Places, and Christmas in the City. In 2019, she also appeared in the holiday movie Same Time, Next Christmas. In 2020, she gave birth to her first child with her husband Zandy Reich.

Chris Colfer (Kurt Hummel)

Kurt was Rachel’s biggest competition in terms of ambition and need to be seen. Eventually, Kurt becomes part of Glee’s most popular couple with Blaine (Darren Criss). Colfer has made some guest appearances on series like Julie’s Greenroom, RuPaul’s Drag Race: All-Stars, and Visible: Out on Television. However, most of Colfer’s post-Glee life has been devoted to his writing career.

As of 2020, Colfer has written at least 15 books and six in his main book series, The Land of Stories. His most recent book is A Tale of Witchcraft.

Jane Lynch (Sue Sylvester)

Sue Sylvester appointed herself as the person who had to take down the Glee club, and especially Will Schuester (Matthew Morrison). Lynch has been one of the busiest former Glee cast members. She has appeared in the series The Mr. Peabody & Sherman Show, Angel from Hell, The Real O’Neals, The Stinky & Dirty Show, and Will & Grace.

Lynch has also appeared in multiple episodes of The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, The Good Fight, and Space Force. She now hosts the new version of The Weakest Link. Lynch has appeared in the films The Late Bloomers, Mascots, Ralph Breaks the Internet and UglyDolls.

Matthew Morrison (Will Schuester)

Will was a teacher and coach of the McKinley High’s glee club, New Directions. His questionable involvement and teaching methods helped the Glee team win many championships. Morrison has had recurring roles on The Good Wife and Grey’s Anatomy. He also teamed up with Ryan Murphy again in American Horror Story: 1984.

Morrison returned to the theater world in 2015. He played J.M Barrie in the original Broadway run of Finding Neverland. He also appeared in the movies Tulip Fever and Crazy Alien. The Grinch fans were either treated or traumatized when he played The Grinch for NBC’s version of Dr. Seuss’ The Grinch Musical Live!

Kevin McHale (Artie Abrams)

Artie was a male vocalist in the Glee club, who also happened to be in a wheelchair. He sometimes made attempts to rap. Kevin McHale appeared in the miniseries When We Rise. In 2019, he was a contestant on the UK X-Factor spin-off, The X Factor: Celebrity. He made it to the quarter-finals.

Hale appeared in episodes of Elite and the Darren Criss Quibi series, Royalties. In 2019, he released an EP called Boy.

Jenna Ushkowitz (Tina Cohen-Chang)

Tina Cohen-Chang was a little shy, but she used music to come out of her shell. Jenna Ushkowitz appeared in the films Yellow Fever, Hello Again, and 1 Night in San Diego.

Ushkowitz also returned to theater life post-Glee. She had roles in Broadway productions of The Wedding Singer, Waitress, and The 24 Hour Plays. Ushkowitz has gained her most success as a producer. She has produced Once on the Island, Be More Chill, and The Inheritance. She won a Tony award for Once on the Island.

Amber Riley (Mercedes Jones)

Mercedes Jones was one of the best vocalists in the Glee club, and just as deserving of leads, though it seemed like Rachel tended to get most of the vocal leads. Amber Riley appeared in NBC’s production of The Wiz Live! as Addaperie, and ABC’s production of The Little Mermaid Live! as Emcee. She also appeared in the series Crazy Ex-Girlfriend and A Black Lady Sketch Show. Riley has appeared in the films Nobody’s Fool and Infamous.

Riley has also appeared in the theater productions of Dreamgirls and Little Shop of Horrors. She played Effie White in Dreamgirls and Audrey II in Little Shop of Horrors. In 2020, Riley was cast as the lead in NBC’s upcoming musical comedy series Dream. She also released an EP called RILEY in 2020.

Heather Morris (Brittany S. Pierce)

Brittany was a little bit on the unique side of things. She hosted a series with a cat and had some crazy theories. Brittany was also part of another popular LGBTQ+ couple with Santana (Naya Rivera). Heather Morris competed on Dancing with the Stars Season 24.

Morris then appeared on the series Glow, The Troup, and Raven’s Home. She appeared in the TV movies Psycho Wedding Crasher and Pretty Little Stalker. She also appeared in the movies Most Likely to Die, Folk Hero & Funny Guy, and the upcoming film Moon Manor. In 2020,She started her own Instagram series called Hubbell Home, which is basically just a short look at her and her husband Taylor Hubbell’s life and their DIY home projects.

Chord Overstreet (Sam Evans)

Sam Evans joined New Directions in Season 2 of Glee, then he became a main character in Season 4. Sam was also not the brightest bulb in the box, but he was a sweet kid who ended up having romances with many of the female Glee characters.

Chord Overstreet appeared in the series Pickle and Peanut, The Bold Type, and Royalties. In 2020, he appeared in the film The Swing of Things. The cast of The Swing of Things also included Olivia Culpo, Adelaide Kane, and Luke Wilson. It’s about a groom who accidentally books his honeymoon at a swingers’ resort. Overstreet has released two albums since Glee. They are Tree House Tapes and Hold On. He also released a single called Water Into Wine in 2020.

Darren Criss (Blaine Anderson)

Blaine Anderson started off Glee as a member of the Warblers, a rival glee club of the New Directions. Eventually, Blaine and Kurt fall in love and become one of the most popular couples on Glee. Darren Cris reunited with Ryan Murphy for several projects.

He appeared in a couple of episodes of American Horror Story: Hotel. He teamed up with Murphy for The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story, and he won an Emmy for that role. In 2020, he was one of the leads in Murphy’s Hollywood. Criss also teamed up with some of his former Glee co-stars by playing Music Meister in Supergirl and The Flash. Also in 2020, Criss had his own Quibi series called Royalties. It also featured some appearances by former Glee cast members.

In 2020, Criss launched a Podcast and web series called Wayward Guide for the Untrained Eye. Post-Glee Criss also appeared in the film Midway, returned to Broadway in Hedwig and the Angry Inch, and recorded an EP called Homework.

Harry Shum Jr. (Mike Chang)

Mike Chang started Glee as more of a background dancer but as the show went on, he became more of a main figure in New Directions. Harry Shum Jr. played Magnus Bane on Shadowhunters from 2016 to 2018. He then appeared in the second season of Kevin Williamson’s series Tell Me A Story. Shum also appeared in an episode of Awkwafina is Nora from Queens.

Harry Shum Jr. appeared in the popular film Crazy Rich Asians and in the films Burn and Escape Plan: The Extractors. In 2020, he appeared in All My Life. Also in 2020, it was announced that Shum will appear in Netflix's rom-com Love Hard.

Dianna Agron (Quinn Fabray)

Quinn Fabray was the typical queen bee but became more than just a mean girl and teen mom. Dianna Agron has lent her voice to Robot Chicken and Wreck-It Ralph: Ralph Breaks the Internet. She has appeared in the films Against the Clock, Berlin, I Love You, Shiva Baby, and upcoming The Laureate.

She also appeared in the stage production of McQueen and a virtual performance of Is Edward Snowden Single?

Naya Rivera (Santana Lopez)

Santana was the mean girl, who could hurt every member of New Directions’ feelings in two-seconds flat, but you also knew there was some truth to her quick jabs. She was never afraid to deflate Rachel’s ego or bully Mr. Schuester.

Naya Rivera appeared in the film Mad Families in 2017. She also had a main role in the Step Up TV series. Tragically, in 2020, Rivera went missing after renting a boat with her son. Days later, Rivera’s body was found, and she was pronounced dead from accidental drowning.

Mark Salling (Noah Puck Puckerman)

Puck was McKinley High School’s resident bad boy. He ends up sleeping with his best friend Finn (Cory Monteith)’s girlfriend Quinn and impregnates her. Mark Salling hadn’t appeared in any shows or movies post-Glee. In 2015, the actor was arrested on suspicion of possession of child pornography, for which he later pled guilty and in 2018, he committed suicide by hanging.

Cory Monteith (Finn Hudson)

Finn Hudson was another Glee character that was kind but not that smart. He was a football player who loved singing. He was Rachel Berry’s main love interest throughout Glee. While appearing in Glee, Cory Monteith also appeared in the films All the Wrong Reasons, McCanick, and had a guest appearance on MasterChef.

Cory Monteith last appeared on Glee in 2013. Sadly, he died in July 2013 from a toxic mixture of drugs and alcohol, before the series ended.

Lea Michele just announced the birth of her baby a hop, skip and a jump ago. She and the little tyke almost ended up sharing the same birthday in fact, as this week Lea Michelle also turned 34. To celebrate her birthday, she shared a sweet look at herself, her newborn and a really fancy looking cake.

So far, Lea Michele has followed a fairly common celebrity trend of giving us some looks at her baby, whom she and her husband Zandy Reich named Ever Leo Reich. We’ve seen a little look at his feet and now the back of his head, but it may be some time before we see what the little tyke looks like. For now, again, I’m here for the look at that cake, which also features the words "Happy Birthday Mama."

Ever Leo Reich was born on August 20 and mom Lea Michele’s birthday is August 29th. The August 20th birthday actually makes him a Leo if you pay any attention to Zodiac signs and that’s where I’m assuming the newborn’s middle name comes from. It’s also worth mentioning -- since we’re talking about signs anyway -- that while mom and baby share a birth month, they don’t share a sign, as Lea Michele is a Virgo.

It’s been a long summer for Lea Michele, though the former Glee actress did spend much of it sharing photos of her pregnancy journey, particularly as she explored the great outdoors. Her summer was also marred by a couple of events, however. Notably, these events included the disappearance and subsequent passing of her Glee co-star Naya Rivera and a set of accusations from a former co-star on Ryan Murphy’s series which didn’t portray Michele in the best light.

Following the accusations from Samantha Ware, Lea Michele apologized and then laid low on social media for a while. But ultimately she decided to return to Instagram following the backlash and move forward. In fact, Michele eventually returned in time to share the journey of her pregnancy leading into little Ever’s birth. So what may have started as a bit of a rocky year seems to be shifting into a moving one as the weather begins to show signs of changing.

Ultimately, as one grows older, milestone birthdays start happening further and further apart as the excitement over turning 18, then 21 and then 25 (you can rent a car!) wears off. But 34 will likely always be one that Lea Michele remembers and that sticks in her mind. It should be a good few months for the new mom as she doesn't have any listed work projects lined up right now, either. Cameron Diaz previously talked about how nice it was to quarantine with a new baby, and that may be the goal for Michele as well.

Lea Michele’s been fairly quiet on social media following Samantha Ware’s accusations about her experience with Michele on the set of Glee. This had set off a chain reaction of comments from the cast about the actress, which led to her quitting Twitter. However, Michele has returned to using her Instagram account somewhat and this week did pay tribute to Naya Rivera and Cory Monteith via the social media platform.

Lea Michele didn’t share a lot of words about Naya Rivera following the actress’ accidental drowning at Lake Piru. However, she did share some somber black and white photos of both Rivera and Cory Monteith, a Glee actor whom she had been dating around the time of his death, which occurred after an alcohol and heroin overdose in 2013.

The Instagram Stories post including both Naya Rivera and Cory Monteith likely didn’t simply happen because they both were Glee cast members who were taken from us too soon. One could take the extra step to surmise she shared images of both because of the July 13 connection between Rivera and Monteith.

Corey Monteith died on July 13, 2013 at the age of 31. At the time, he had been in and out of rehab and had been open about his troubles with drugs. Lea Michele and Monteith had dated and were close. His mother, Ann McGregor even previously explained that it was Michele who broke the news of her son’s death to her before the police had made it out.

While Naya Rivera went missing on July 8, her body wasn’t found until days later, on July 13 – the same day Cory Monteith had died years earlier. She was 33 at the time of her death, just a couple of years older than her co-star was when he tragically passed. Clearly that has to bring up a lot of feelings with all of the Glee cast, including Lea Michele.

Many other members of Glee whose lives were touched by Naya Rivera have also paid tribute to the actress, whose last act was reported to be saving her young son before she succumbed to the water. Kevin McHale also touched on the Monteith connection on Instagram, noting he was with Rivera when they learned the news of their co-star passing years ago.

Kevin McHale also believes the date Naya Rivera’s body was found is no coincidence, noting that things tend to happen for a reason. He said:

All in all it’s been a tough week, tough for the Glee cast, tough for fans around the world who loved Naya Rivera and most tough for Rivera’s family, who had to watch along with the rest of the world as this story unfolded. Our thoughts go out to everyone who is grieving at this time.

Lea Michele is coming off of a rough few weeks in the public eye. She was just approaching the end of her pregnancy when she got called out for being mean-spirited on the set by her former Glee co-star Samantha Ware. After apologizing, Michele laid low for a while as other Glee co-stars shared their thoughts on the matter, but now she’s made her return to Instagram, dipping her toes in the social media water to check out the temperature.

Early in July, Lea Michele made an inconspicuous return to Instagram with a story showing her heavily pregnant and out for a hike. Since then, according to outlets like Page Six, Lea Michele has been spotted on walks with her husband Zandy Reich and her mom Edith Thomasina this week. She's always been big on hiking, so the post isn't a big surprise, but it does lead to questions surrounding controversies and when it's OK to stop being apologetic and start doing your own thing online again. It's a weird world we live in.

Lea Michele seemingly laid low for a while after Samantha Ware made claims the Glee actress made the set intolerable, calling Michele’s actions “traumatic microagressions.” Some of the other individuals who worked on Glee, including Amber Riley and Heather Morris, also spoke out about Michele’s alleged behavior on the set of the Ryan Murphy show. Others who worked with Lea Michele noted they did not have the same sort of experiences with the actress while filming together.

The backlash did prompt Lea Michele to respond on Instagram back in June. She noted at the time that she was sorry for her “shortcomings” and would be taking the time to reflect on “any pain” her actions on Glee may have caused, though she said any bad behavior or feelings she hurt were not due to anyone’s skin color or background on the series.

Then she laid low for weeks, only emerging with the Instagram Stories post at the beginning of the current month. She still has not been nearly as active with stationary posts on any of her social media channels as she had been throughout her pregnancy previously and just in general through her career. She has not shared anything on Twitter, either, since the start of June.

Lea Michele has been fairly coy about the due date of her baby. Though she’s fine sharing pregnancy posts of herself, she’s fairly private about a lot of the details, though there has been speculation the 33-year-old actress may be due in the fall. Initially, Michele announced her pregnancy in an April 27th post and if she was around 12 weeks at that time, that would mean her due date is sometime in the fall, perhaps October or November. So, if things had shook out differently, she'd probably still be sharing more of her pregnancy journey right now.

While she waits to become a first time mom, she should have plenty of time to figure out what happened here and how to move forward. In the wake of the Glee set accusations, Lea Michele also lost her partnership with HelloFresh as that brand sought to take the former accusations “very seriously.” Along with being down her brand partnership, the actress has also been taking a break from acting and doesn’t have any current projects on the docket right now either, also presumably due to her current pregnancy. It is worth pointing out acting has not been as large of a priority for Lea Michele in recent years as she has focused on philanthropy and producing music, though she did act in The Mayor in 2017.

Last week, former Glee actress Samantha Ware publicly called out her former co-star Lea Michele on Twitter. She accused the actress of making the gig “a living hell”, threatening to “shit in (her) wig” and additional microagressions. The story led to many others associated with Glee or with Michele via other projects to speak out and talk about the issues they had working with the actress. She quickly released an apology, and now, Ware has come forward with more detail surrounding what happened.

Apparently Michele, Ware and several other cast members and dancers were filming a large scene. The camera wasn’t on Ware for much of the filming, but Michele allegedly was bothered by a lack of focus. The director didn’t say anything, but after the scene, Michele supposedly tried to give her co-star a piece of her mind. Here’s a portion of Ware’s interview with Variety…

Conflicts like this sometimes happen on movie sets, especially if there are a lot of takes that need to be shot, but it seems like from Ware’s account and what others associated with Glee have said, this wasn’t an isolated incident but more a pattern of unwelcoming and sometimes mean behavior. Heather Morris called her unpleasant. Naya Rivera said she had troubles sharing the spotlight. Amber Reilly and others spoke up to defend Michele against claims she is a racist, but almost all seemed to at least hint they had their own issues with her on the show. As for the now infamous shit in the wig comment, it apparently happened during a lunch break on set and happened in front of a lot of cast members and people who worked on the show. Ware says some chuckled and some gasped, but for her, none of this is about trying to get someone cancelled. She told the outlet she doesn’t believe in cancel culture and thinks people deserve second chances, but she felt the need to come forward and say something so things can start changing.

In the time since Lea Michele was called out on social media for her behavior on the set of Glee, initially by fellow cast member Samantha Ware, many of the two’s co-stars from the hit musical have released their own statements or commented in some way, shape or form. The latest to put his thoughts on record is Iqbal Theba.

The Pakistani-American actor, who played Principal Figgins, took to Twitter to answer those who have been asking him if he was mistreated by the star. While there, he also offered some thoughts on the dangers of branding people as a racist. You can read his full comments below…

The conversation around Lea Michele’s on-set behavior actually started while the show was still airing. Michele had a troubled relationship with co-star Naya Rivera on set, and in the latter’s book, she accused her co-star of not wanting to share the spotlight. At the time, it was treated as a mini-scandal and more of a personality clash between two women, probably because there was tragedy and other terrible behavior going on. Over the last few days, it’s become clear that plenty of people had a problem with Michele on set.

Samantha Ware accused Michele of making her life “a living hell” and allegedly telling others she would shit in her wig. Glee co-star Heather Morris then came forward and said Michele was “unpleasant” to work with and said she continually disrespected others and deserved to be called out. Cast members Alex Newell and Melissa Benoist, amongst others, have also liked or responded with positive gifs to the critical comments, and others unrelated to Glee, including a fellow Spring Awakening cast member called her a “nightmare.”

The chatter after Ware's initial allegation was very critical of Michele, and while it hasn’t exactly gotten positive in the time since, others have defended her from the racism accusations many social media fans have jumped to. Amber Reilly addressed the issue in a conversation with Essence, saying she’s not going to call Michele a racist and thinks people have dragged her enough. The two reportedly spoke privately, and while it seems like they may have some of their own issues, she said she wishes Michele well, while also being proud of Ware for standing up for herself.

It’s unclear at this point whether we will continue to see more Glee cast members come forward. Michele has already released a statement apologizing for her on-set behavior. Given how quickly the news cycle tends to move on, this may be the last we hear of this, but even if that’s the case, it remains to be seen how much this may or may not affect the actress’ career long-term.

A little over five years after Fox's musical dramedy Glee gave its final performance, the show once again entered the cultural zeitgeist for some very non-harmonious reasons. Co-star Samantha Marie Ware, who joined the show in Season 6, recently dropped some all-caps allegations on Twitter that called out Lea Michele for making Ware's life a "living hell" during her time on the show. Social media swiftly backlashed against Michele, who soon apologized, and in the days since, other Glee co-stars such as Amber Riley have spoken up about the situation.

It was after Lea Michele shared a #BlackLivesMatter tweet about George Floyd that Samantha Marie Ware responded with her accusation, specifically saying Michele semi-threatened to shit in the other actress' wig if given the chance. Tons of people called out Michele on social media, with many framing her behavior as being racist, due to Ware being black.

That racism-based notion was at the heart of some comments made by Glee star Amber Riley, who said this to Essence during an interview:

Amber Riley, who starred as Glee's Mercedes Jones, didn't make any blanket statements about Lea Michele's views on race, despite what others have claimed. Still, the actress has apparently heard more than her share of stories from other black entertainers who suffered through negative experiences with empowered white actresses, indicating that race still plays a role, even if overt racism isn't on display.

Sympathetically, Amber Riley also brought up the fact that Lea Michele is pregnant now, and hoped that people would pull back on social media. Michele also spoke to her pregnancy in her lengthy apology, saying that she knows that she needs to keep growing as a person so that she can serve as a responsible role model to her future offspring.

Glee's Heather Morris, who starred as Brittany Pierce throughout all six seasons, also appeared wary about calling Lea Michele out specifically as being racist. That said, she very much seemed to support calling Michele out in general for her alleged treatment of other actresses behind the scenes. Here's how she put it on Twitter:

With her response to the Lea Michele situation, Heather Morris offered a straight-up confirmation that Glee's leading lady wasn't fun to work with, at least from her perspective. But in the same breath, Morris also realized that she and others should also be taking on some of the blame for allowing any negative and harmful behavior like that to continue happening unchecked. Those thoughts coincide with the aftermath of George Floyd's death, which inspired many to vow a renewed investment in taking accountability for coworkers' actions.

Currently keeping the music alive on Zoey's Extraordinary Playlist, which is awaiting news for Season 2, actor Alex Newell joined Glee in its third season as the transgender teen Unique Adams. Newell didn't shield much of his thoughts, having retweeted and commented on plenty of messages shading Lea Michele. Here was his official stance on the matter, as it were:

In case any of that was too vague for Glee fans, here was Alex Newell's tweet response to a comment from a since-suspended user that apparently questioned the legitimacy of such claims against Lea Michele.

To be sure, it hasn't just been Glee co-stars that have spoken up about Lea Michele's alleged on-set behavior. Michele's other former co-stars such as The Mayor's Yvette Nicole Brown and Broadway understudy Gerard Canonico have also painted their pasts with the actress in negative lights. Only time will tell if Michele will stay true to her apology by learning from her reported mistakes and becoming a more responsible co-star in the future.

Glee creator Ryan Murphy recently toyed around with the idea of getting an offbeat Glee reunion together, having recently worked with Darren Criss again for Netflix's Hollywood. But it sounds like his recasting idea would be the only way it could happen, unless Lea Michele suddenly earned forgiveness from all involved. Glee’s Lea Michele found herself in hot water recently. After tweeting out support of the Black Lives Matter movement, Michele’s former co-star Samantha Ware called her out, alleging that Michele made Ware’s first television gig a “living hell,” and that Michele’s “traumatic microaggressions” caused Ware to rethink being an actress altogether.

Samantha Ware wasn’t the only former Glee star spotlighting Lea Michele’s alleged behavior. Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist star Alex Newell, who is also an alum of the Fox show, responded with a gif of RuPaul pulling out the binoculars. Meanwhile, Michele’s former Mayor co-star and Community alum Yvette Nicole Brown responded in support of Ware, tweeting that she “felt every one of those capital letters.” Now, Michele has finally broken her silence and has issued an apology for her on-set behavior. Here’s part of the apology Michele posted to Instagram:

Lea Michele went on to say that she’s a couple of months shy of becoming a mother and that the mistakes she’s made in the past will be lessons she passes along to her child. Michele said that she’s “very sorry” and will make sure to “be better.” You can read the actress’ entire apology post below.

The allegations of Lea Michele’s on-set behavior towards her co-stars even landed her in hot water with HelloFresh, the recipe kit delivery service. The company has terminated its partnership with Michele after learning of her alleged behavior, and that decision was effective immediately. A representative for HelloFresh made the announcement in response to another tweet calling for the company to cut ties with Michele.

Other Glee alum also responded to Samantha Ware’s claims, albeit more passively. Shortly after Ware tweeted the allegations, Amber Riley, who played Mercedes, tweeted a gif of herself looking sideways and drinking from a mug. Meanwhile, Supergirl’s Melissa Benoist, who played Marley, liked Ware’s post on Twitter, as well as Riley’s gif tweet and another that included a screenshot of HelloFresh terminating the partnership with Michele.

Back in 2014, rumors swirled that Lea Michele and Glee co-star Naya Rivera were feuding. In Rivera’s 2016 memoir, Sorry Not Sorry: Dreams, Mistakes and Growing Up, she alleged that Michele didn’t speak to her for all of Glee Season 6.

There are casts of TV shows that feel like one big happy family and other shows where it is clear people are simply at work and don’t mesh as well on a personal level. A new comment from former Glee cast member Samantha Ware seems to indicate things were not always copacetic on the set of the former Fox series and Ware seems to be blaming series lead Lea Michele for bringing the drama on and off of set.

Lea Michele was one of the many celebrities who commented on what happened to George Floyd over the weekend. In response on Twitter, Samantha Ware accused Lea Michele of “microagressions” on the set, including allegedly commenting about her wig. Ware reported:

At the time of this writing, Lea Michele has not commented on the accusations, though she has retweeted comments from both Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama asking people to vote in the upcoming election, so she has been active on social media.

Lea Michele and Samantha Ware did appear on Glee together back in 2015. It was Ware’s breakthrough role on the small screen and according to her comments, it sounds as if her experience was not a particularly positive one. Since then, she’s kept busy on the small screen, as Ware has taken guest stints in Chicago Med, Barry, Bull and had a larger role on the series What/If playing Angela Archer.

The last few seasons of Glee were weird ones as the original cast was split out quite a bit. Blaine and Rachel’s storylines were particularly different as both went on to become coaches. During the show’s final season, Samantha Ware played Jane Hayward, a young woman who became the first lady student at Dalton Academy.

Michele has previously told Chelsea Handler she would be interested in a Glee reboot, noting she “loved the cast” at the time.

The year 2015 was Glee’s final year airing on Fox before Lea Michele went on to nab roles in Scream Queens and The Mayor. The former was another TV series on Fox created by Ryan Murphy. Two seasons have aired so far, and recently Murphy confirmed he will be working on a third season despite the series previously ending with no plans to move forward.

UPDATE: HelloFresh US announced via Twitter that the company is ending the partnership with Lea Michele, "effective immediately."

As it's gone in the past, Disney Week gave American Idol one of its most entertaining episodes to date, and not just because of the fantastically talented contestants. Former Glee star Lea Michele was on hand to promote her upcoming role in the Hollywood Bow's Little Mermaid celebration, and performed one of the film's classic tracks to drum up support for the live show. As if there was any doubt, Michele slayed her performance of "Part of Your World," along with the help of Idol's hopeful contestants as backup singers.

Even without a tail replacing her human feet, Lea Michele sounded like something right out of the animated hit with her rendition of "Part Of Your World." Even if it was to be expected, it's still chilling to see Michele sing that Little Mermaid tune while making it look like it required little-to-no effort at all. American Idol's Season 17 team is pretty damn good, but after seeing Michele on stage with them, it's clear that many of the contestants have a lengthy road to travel to reach that level.

Let's also give a round of applause for that outfit choice, with a color scheme that almost made Lea Michele appear Ursula-like. Of course, that possibly subtle nod stood no chance against Katy Perry's over-the-top wardrobe choices, as she straight-up wore an Ursula outfit for the entire evening, complete with the wild hair and matching skin.

As mentioned, Lea Michele wasn't there just to show the American Idol contestants what's up, but rather to give a preview of her upcoming portrayal of Ariel for the 30th anniversary celebration of The Little Mermaid, being held at L.A's classic venue, the Hollywood Bowl. Michele is one of many who will bring the movie's musical majesty to life, singing the songs while accompanied by a live orchestra. The event is scheduled for May 17 and 18, and if it's half as good as that rendition, will be incredible.

Lea Michele may have had one of the best performances of the night, but that's not at all a knock to the rest of the American Idol cast. The Top 10 stepped up to the challenge and belted out each of their favorite Disney songs at a near-professional level. In all honesty, everyone was a winner tonight, but of course the spirit of the competition dictated that two contestants had to leave.

American Idol viewers voted, and it was revealed that both Uche and Dimitrius Graham were to be eliminated. The judges did have an opportunity to save both men, but instead decided to hold their vote for the final three weeks of competition. It was a rough decision, but somewhat expected, considering both contestants were saved by judges in the prior week. They're both gone now, though, and the Idol competitor count is officially down to 8.

It's official: Darren Criss is a married man. The television actor and songwriter has officially gotten hitched to his sweetheart, Mia Swier, in New Orleans this past weekend. And the ceremony was filled with several familiar faces. For instance, a handful of fellow former Glee actors were in attendance for the wedding ceremony, and that includes Lea Michele, John Stamos, Harry Shum Jr. and Chord Overstreet. Here's what we know about the wedding.

According to THR, Darren Criss married his long-term girlfriend, Mia Swier, on Saturday, during a break from his awards season swing recognizing his work in FX's The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story, where he plays Andrew Cunanan -- the man who commits the assassination of the title designer. The actor recently won his first Emmy for his performance. It has been a busy time for the actor, but Criss wanted to make a point to finally celebrate and cherish his love to his partner of more than eight years. There is no time like the present, after all. Even though they were engaged for a much shorter span of time comparatively, the nuptials were long coming. And it definitely sounds like it was a happy time for everyone.

To be more specific, Darren Criss announced his engagement to Mia Swier in January of last year. In the Instagram announcement, Criss wrote:

Additionally, beyond his awards success and his recent marriage, Darren Criss and Mia Swier are the proud owners of a Hollywood piano bar named Tramp Stamp Granny's. The place is new and fairly upscale in nature, meant to evoke New York City vibes despite its California location and it hosts a "deep nostalgia" for musical theater, as well. The location is still fairly minor and low-key at the moment, though, as Criss joked he's the only piano player there back in August. Surely with the recent awards success that he has found, however, he won't have too many problems bringing in a crowd.

Thankfully, Darren Criss had a lot of friendly and gleeful faces at hand to bring him joy during one of the biggest, most important moments of his life. It sounds like there is a lot of happiness to be found in Criss' life already, however -- particularly with this ceremony celebrating his love and dedication to his new wife.

On July 13th, 2013, Glee fans were shaken to discover that Cory Monteith had passed away of a heroin overdose. The young actor and singer was 31 at the time of death. Five years later, it's still difficult to process. The talented performer still had many years left in him, and today, his untimely passing has been made even more difficult as we have learned how Ann McGregor, Cory Monteith's mother, discovered the horrendous news. McGregor reportedly first heard about her son's death from Lea Michele, Monteith's co-star and girlfriend for over a year. Here's how Ann McGregor explained the chilling call she received from the grieving actress moments before she was told the news about her belated son.

As she later explained, Ann McGregor soon fell into a "state of numbness," where she "just shut off all emotions" and became indifferent to everything that happened around her. This tragic recounting was told to People in a piece that ran around the anniversary of Monteith's death. Of course, there's no way you can truly prepare for news that devastating, and Ann McGregor admits that it took her weeks before she truly processed what happened. But she didn't doubt its validity. Even when McGregor claims she could lie to herself and believe her son was alive, she knew that wasn't true.

What made Cory Monteith's death even more devastating was knowing his future plans. As Ann McGregor admits, her adult son was planning ahead, thinking about what he wanted to do next after his contract with Glee came to a close. He was renting an apartment in Vancouver, and he planned to move into it after his hit Fox series wrapped its tenure, and he wanted to have a wife and kids and start a family. McGregor believes her son would've been "a beautiful father," and she contends that he accomplished a great deal in his young life.

There's no denying that Cory Monteith's passing is just as tragic now as it was when he left this world five years ago. Since his death, Ann McGregor has continued to advocate for some of her son's passions, including Project Limelight, a non-profit, free performing art program for young individuals. She is also working on his behalf with St. James Music Academy, which provides classic musical education for at-risk children, as well as Amber Academy, which works to empower young adults through the power of fine arts. And while Monteith isn't with us anymore, McGregor believes his spirit still lives on in the hearts of many, including her own.

More than 200,000 people from Southern California have had to flee their homes since the terrifying wildfires began blazing across the region this month. While a lot of those people are civilians, it turns out many people put out of their homes and workplaces are celebrities. Some of the stars affected by the natural disaster have used social media presences to express their thoughts and prayers.

For example, Chrissy Teigen, who recently was tweeting about getting ready to welcome her second child with John Legend, posted on Twitter about how she had evacuated her home with her daughter, Luna. She wrote,

Similarly, Lea Michele had to flee with only the essentials. The former Glee star tweeted thanks to the people helping her during her time of need and said,

Speaking of fleeing and needing somewhere safe to stay, actress Jennifer Tilly tweeted how she had been to a handful of hotels before finding one with a room. Tilly wrote that she had been to three hotels before finding one with a room for her. But one look at the Twitter video Paris Hilton uploaded and you can totally see why Tilly might have been finding it hard to find a place to rest. Hilton's video looks absolutely horrendous. Take a look:

The news about the wildfires is awful. Last week, many homes in Bel Air burned to the ground. Homes of celebrities like Jeff Bridges, Rob Lowe, and Oprah Winfrey fell victim to the wildfire in the neighborhood of Montecito. In fact, Winfrey tweeted out words of peace and prayerfulness.

Similarly, Ellen DeGeneres and Portia De Rossi escaped from their estate while the wildfire blazed nearby. DeGeneres tweeted that she had evacuated her pets from the premises. She expressed prayers for the community and gratitude for the firefighters. The comedian also mentioned how the disaster seemed to be bringing people in the Montecito area together. Chelsea Handler tweeted about how she had evacuated her home, and how she felt like the world was in "dark times." Then Lisa Rinna tweeted that she had left with what she could take (which was her child, pets, photos, documents, and extra items like jewelry and clothes).

The disaster has been blazing for days as fire officials and crews try to get it under control. The Santa Ana wind fuels the fire, and the lack of rain in California only adds to the problem. In some regions, like Ojai, officials have warned about unhealthy smoke and toxins in the air. In fact, the South Coast Air Quality Management District made a statement and said people should stay indoors at all times if possible to avoid breathing in toxins. The news coming in from SoCal is devastating and scary. Hopefully, everyone--not just the celebs--can find safety elsewhere.

If you have access to the cable network FX, you'll notice that Ryan Murphy is just about everywhere. The producer/director/writer has a litany of small screen projects currently airing, including American Horror Story, American Crime Story, and Feud. But before he basically owned a network, Ryan Murphy has his TV start with shows like Nip/Tuck and the musical extravaganza Glee. Glee was massively popular in its early seasons, earning a handful of Emmys and Golden Globes in the process. But quality and focus seemed to peter out after a few years, resulting in awkward storylines and even more awkward musical numbers. Now series star Lea Michele has revealed which of those songs was the worse.

Lea Michele recently appeared on Bravo's late night show Watch What Happens Live. During her time in the hot seat, host Andy Cohen asked Michele which Glee song was her least favorite song. Without missing a beat, Michele said:

I didn't even realize that Glee covered that ridiculous song, but that sounds about right.

"What Does the Fox Say?" went viral a few years back for being an absolutely bonkers and nonsensical spoof on pop music. And while this meme-worthy track was enjoyable for youtubers, adapting it for a network TV show sounds like a poorly laid plan. The musical number would have been rough if the motley crew of New Directions sang it themselves, but Glee's version made it even more uncomfortable by adding puppets to the mix. Check this abomination out.

So, did any of that make sense? No, no it did not. After Blaine (Darren Criss) royally pisses off the glee club, he brings them each puppet version of themselves to make it up to them. And for some reason, he sends matching ones to Rachel in New York, where she is joined by a puppeteer Adam Lambert, as the two groups somehow sing in unison (despite being across the country).

Yeah, it's that weird.

Not to be a Negative Nancy, Lea Michele also listed her favorite songs from Glee's long tenure. Much like the show itself, it looks like the best songs were from back in Season 1.

Lea Michele has dropped out of FOX's Scream Queens, which is still waiting on a possible Season 3 renewal. She recently did a few pilots, so we'll just have to wait and see where we can see Michele next.

Fox's smash musical hit Glee has been off the air for a couple of years now, but at least two of the stars haven't lost their musical touch. Lea Michele and Darren Criss recently got together to croon an old school Glee tune together. Their rendition of "Don't You Want Me" was a blast from the past in the best way, and it's definitely worth the watch. Check it out!

Lea Michele and Darren Criss first sang "Don't You Want Me" for Glee back in the fourteenth episode of Season 2, and it was a curious combination of hilarious and cringeworthy. Rachel and Blaine hit the stage in Rachel's basement - because of course Rachel had a stage and microphones in her basement - for a drunken duet. The two had recently made out due to a game of Spin The Bottle, and the natural progression for these two songbirds was to burst into song.

The episode aired back in 2011, so Lea Michele and Darren Criss' reunion six years later for another version of "Don't You Want Me" (as posted on the Glee Facebook page) must come as a fun surprise for fans of Glee. Michele and Criss were evidently hanging out at his house when the time came for him to bring out the guitar and her to get into groove for the song. It was only fitting that both had glasses of wine to set the mood back to the circumstances of their characters' duet.

Both actors have kept pretty busy over the last couple of years, so it's nice to know that they'll still make time to sing socially together. I can't say that I've ever burst into song over a glass of wine with friends, but I also don't have Lea Michele's singing voice. Of course, Michele was using that voice less musically for her role on Scream Queens. She did plenty of screaming, but not so many ballads or Barbra Streisand numbers.

For his part, Darren Criss has done some voice work since the end of Glee, but mostly without song. He voiced the character of Sideswipe in the animated series Transformers: Robots in Disguise. Most recently, he reunited with two other Glee alums for more primetime singing. Criss appeared as the Music Meister in the big musical crossover of The CW's Supergirl and The Flash, which put him back on screen with Melissa Benoist and Grant Gustin for the first time since the end of Glee.

The Music Meister wasn't wholly vanquished at the end of the crossover, so there's a chance that he'll be back to wreak some more musical havoc in the future. That said, Darren Criss recently landed a major gig on American Crime Story Season 3 that doesn't sound like it will involve many showtunes. No matter what comes next in Lea Michele and Darren Criss' career, I'm glad we got to see them back together at least once more for the "Don't You Want Me" duet.

The bottom of the intimate, Polaroid-style photo reveals that it was taken on Bleeker Street in New York City back in 2012, which was the year before Monteith was found dead of an overdose. Michele had dated Monteith for the four years up to his death, along with playing his love interest on Glee.

In the years since Cory Monteith's death, Lea Michele has shared quite a few tributes to him on her social media accounts. Most recently, Michele got a permanent reminder of her late boyfriend by tattooing the number 5 on her side --- 5 was the number on Monteith's Glee character Finn's football jersey. Michele also showed off a second tattoo dedicated to Monteith in a Women's Health spread last year --- the name "Finn" written on her hip.

Though Lea Michele openly shows her love for Cory Monteith now, the couple had actually kept their relationship under wraps for quite some time when they started dating. The pair quickly hit it off after they were cast as the primary love interests on Fox's musical comedy Glee, and began dating in 2009 while the first season of the show was airing. However, it wasn't until three years later that they officially told the media about their relationship.

Sadly, Cory Monteith had battled a drug addiction for most of his life, which came to a head in the summer of 2013. Earlier in that year, Monteith had completed rehab for his substance abuse, but just a few months later he was found dead in a hotel room from an overdose of heroin and alcohol. Researchers believe that his lowered tolerance for heroin after completing his treatment program is what made the usual amount that Monteith ingested lethal.

Lea Michele is starting the new year with a completely blank slate... in more ways than one. The actress gave her fans a very intimate look at her body to celebrate the new year.

On day two of 2017, Lea Michele took to Instagram to post her love for the new year so far, along with a nude photo of herself looking up towards a beautiful sunset. The actress, who is famously obsessed with fitness, is reclining on a towel against a gorgeous, forest backdrop in the shot. Thank goodness it's not a cold winter in L.A.! Lea Michele is clearly facing 2017 head on after a pretty mixed-bag 2016. Though the actress reprised her role on Fox's hit anthology series Scream Queens in its second season, she faced some personal heartache at the start of the year when she broke up with her boyfriend of two years. Michele and relationship advisor Michael Paetz split up in February, and Michele spent the rest of 2016 focusing on her fitness.

As her full-body photo shows, Lea Michele's year of fitness has most definitely paid off. The actress opened up about her commitment to staying healthy and working out a couple months back in a cover story for SHAPE. Michele told the fitness magazine that she was spending the year focusing on herself and her body after her split at the beginning of 2016, and that it's helped take her to a healthy and positive place.

Lea Michele didn't completely spend 2016 single, though. The actress reportedly dated One Tree Hill and iZombie star Robert Buckley for a couple months in the middle of the year. The two stars met while filming the upcoming sci-fi TV project Dimension 404, but split up in the summer.

Professionally, Lea Michele is going into 2017 just about as open to new opportunities as her nude photo would suggest. It's incredibly clear just from watching the clip that Lea Michele is at a healthy weight and a good mental space, not succumbing to the "binges" that OK! is alleging. The break up that the article is referring to is Michele's split from iZombie actor Robert Buckley in early July. The two met on the set of their upcoming sci-fi TV series Dimension 404, and only dated for about two months before deciding not to mix work with romance.

It looks like Lea Michele is having just as much fun on the set of her currently airing horror spoof series Scream Queens. Michele is reprising her role of the unhinged homicidal mastermind Hester Ulrich for the second season of the show, alongside other actors from the anthology series' first season that are reprising their roles, such as Jamie Lee Curtis, Keke Palmer, Emma Roberts, Abigail Breslin, Billie Lourd, and Glen Powell. While the 2015 debut season was set in a sorority house, the new season is set in a hospital, and adds a slew of new actors to the mix, including John Stamos, Taylor Lautner, and Kirstie Alley. The currently airing season has also seen guest spots from Cecily Strong, Colton Haynes, Jerry O'Connell, and Laura Bell Bundy.

Lea Michele has worked with Scream Queens creator Ryan Murphy before on the long-running musical comedy Glee. Michele played the aspiring singer Rachel Berry, who was incredibly persistent in her ambitions, often to a fault.

Scream Queens airs Tuesdays at 9 p.m. ET on Fox.

There's nothing quite like a good, old fashioned satire, and FOX's Scream Queens currently represents some of the finest satirical TV on the air today. Not only will the series change locations from a college campus to a hospital, but also the new location will be bolstered by the addition of Twilight star Taylor Lautner to the show's ensemble. The actor recently joined the cast as a character named Dr. Cassidy Cascade, a character whose odd (and possibly murderous) persona seems to fit perfectly into the setting of the next season of the series. Lea Michele continued to film her co-star behind the scenes on her Snapchat account, and her fans fans made sure to aggressively screen shot each and every moment. It all seems to only further hammer home the bizarre nature of his medical professional character.

Of course, that shot above was just the back of Lautner's head, and doesn't really count, and the image that Michele retweeted below is a much better look at Doc Lautner in true form.

Now, I know that there are a large number of readers who have probably rolled their eyes at the very mention of Taylor Lautner. In past years, he has taken a great deal of critical flack for his role as Jacob Black in the Twilight series, and in many ways he rightfully deserves the criticism for taking part in that abomination. However, he has done quite a bit to shirk his "heartthrob" status and carve out a new niche for himself in the world of comedy. Between stints in Adam Sandler movies like Grown Ups 2 and The Ridiculous 6, as well as a standout role on the BBC sitcom Cuckoo, Lautner has proven that he has a knack for comedic timing.

Given Scream Queens' status as a popular black comedy, we have a feeling he was cast for more than just a six pack -- although we're sure the show will opt to have him pop that shirt off at least a couple of times. You simply don't waste looks in the world of entertainment.

The next season of Scream Queens seems to slowly but surely be coming together, and we have to admit that Taylor Lautner's comedic pedigree makes him a prime addition of the FOX series. Glee became a huge hit for Fox almost immediately after it debuted in 2009, and a big part of the draw was the goofily charming Cory Monteith in the role of Finn Hudson. Monteith tragically passed away a few years ago, and Glee aired a heartbreaking tribute to Finn as a way to say goodbye to Monteith. Although the show came to an end in 2015, his former castmates have not forgotten him, and they found some touching ways to celebrate his life on the anniversary of his death on July 13.

The cause of death for Finn on Glee was never specified, but Cory Monteith passed away due to a drug overdose in 2013. He had been in a relationship with Glee leading lady Lea Michele, whose character Rachel Berry was Finn's primary love interest throughout the series. Michele has been plucking at our heartstrings with her remembrances of Monteith ever since she emotionally dedicated a Teen Choice Award to him shortly after his death. She took to Twitter on July 13 to share a photo of Monteith that has since been retweeted nearly 60,000 times.

Matthew Morrison played Glee club moderator Will Schuester, who closely mentored Finn through his high school years and even after graduation. Morrison and Cory Monteith shared an awful lot of screentime during their time on the series, and Morrison too used his Twitter account to remember the young man who had clearly become family to him.

Kevin McHale played the wheelchair-bound Artie Abrams, who was one of the original six members of McKinley High School's New Directions and shared his share of scenes and songs with Finn. McHale used the hashtag #3YearsWithoutCory to post a message and a GIF commemorating his time with Cory Monteith.

Jenna Ushkowitz played Tina Cohen-Chang on Glee, who was another of the original six members of New Direction. She chose to use her Instagram to share a happy picture of Cory Monteith on the drums, also using a #3yearswithoutcory tag.

Harry Shum played Mike Chang, who was a football player who happened to have a mean dancing streak. Mike and Finn were always a fun duo to watch on screen together just based on their different approaches to dance and performance. Shum had a goofy picture and some warm words for Cory Monteith on the anniversary of his death.

Heather Morris played dim-witted but mostly well-meaning cheerleader Brittany Pierce on Glee. She was as good a dancer as Finn was bad, and they were always fun on screen together. Morris used her Instagram to tell the story of how she learned of Cory Monteith's death and post a photo that's definitely worth a smile.

Chord Overstreet joined Glee in the beginning of Season 2 as Sam Evans, who ended up spending time with Finn both on the football field and on the stage to sing. Overstreet posted a picture of himself with Monteith in his social media tribute to his friend.

Cory Monteith's passing is no less tragic in 2016 than it was in 2013, but the loving messages from his friends and former Glee castmates make it easy to celebrate his life rather than mourn his death. Glee never would have been the hit that it was if Monteith hadn't been on board to help launch the series in 2009, and he'll always be a good reason to rewatch a few episodes here and there.

Glee took the world by storm when it premiered on Fox back in 2009, and Broadway singer Lea Michele became a bona fide star thanks to her impressive set of pipes and wonderful range as an actress as Rachel Berry. She used those pipes of hers to do some serious screaming when she joined the cast of Scream Queens after Glee came to an end. Now, Michele has landed her next project. She’ll appear in an episode of upcoming Hulu anthology series Dimension 404.

Dimension 404 will be a six-episode anthology series that explores the “weird side of the web.” Considering that the web can be very weird indeed, Dimension 404 has plenty of online craziness to mine for story. Lea Michele’s episode will tackle the world of online dating, according to TVLine.

Michele will play a character named Amanda, who is an ambitious and organized woman who turns to an online matchmaking service to get back in the dating game after a very messy breakup. Amanda will be matched with a man named Adam, who gets way too serious about their relationship way too fast. Amanda’s attempt to move on from her past messiness will result in what could be an even messier ordeal.

Lea Michele will be joined in her episode of Dimension 404 by Robert Buckley, who is perhaps best currently known for his role as the hunky Major Lilywhite on iZombie. Adam may freak Amanda out with an early love declaration, but at least he’ll be pretty for her to look at before things get awkward, and he won't have to worry about her revealing an undead existence.

The basic premise for Lea Michele and Robert Buckley’s episode of Dimension 404 sounds a bit too thin to get too excited about at this point, but it should be interesting to see how the actors bounce off one another in these roles. They’re both coming off of shows involving plenty of murder and a fair amount of mayhem, so Dimension 404 could be a fun change for them.

Luckily for fans who fell in love with Lea Michele on Scream Queens and Robert Buckley on iZombie, their new roles in the anthology series won’t stop them from returning to their other jobs. Scream Queens and iZombie has both been renewed for another season, and it would be hard to imagine the shows without these actors.

Not a whole lot of details about the other five episodes of Dimension 404 are available just yet, although Ryan Lee of Trophy Wife fame has signed on to play a video game addict circa 1982 who faces constant bullying for being gay. He discovers a new game that has never before been played when he hides in an arcade for safety. Comparing the description for this episode to the one featuring Lea Michele is enough to guarantee that Dimension 404 will be taking advantage of the anthology structure to visit different times and aspects of the web.

Well, that didn’t take long. We just recently heard that Disney is getting back in to the Mary Poppins business, and already you can lay a wager on who will replace Julie Andrews in the lead role. (Can you ever really replace Julie Andrews?).

EW has the betting odds on which actress will take over the role of the practically perfect nanny in Rob Marshall’s (Into the Woods) new film. It’s going to be an interesting thing to see as, set 20 years after the events of the 1964 original, it’s not quite a sequel, but not quite a reboot, but still somehow a little bit of both. Yeah, we’re curious, too. But for now, here are the betting favorites for the new Mary Poppins, should you care to lay a wager.

Anna Camp

With roles in movies like Pitch Perfect and The Help under her belt, Anna Camp has shown she can handle comedic roles as well as more serious beats. And she certainly has the winning smile and perky good looks to fit the Mary Poppins mold, but this is a long shot to be sure. Odds: 50 to 1

Lea Michelle

Her time on Glee certainly proved that Lea Michelle has the pipes to pull off the musical elements of a Mary Poppins story, as well as the comedy chops. However, even with all of that going for her, the odds makers have her near the very back of the pack. Odds: 33 to 1

Gugu Mbatha-Raw

Gugu Mbatha-Raw showed off her vocal chops in Beyond the Lights and is actually a member of Disney’s live action Beauty and the Beast, where she plays Plumette. You can almost hear backlash already of people screaming that Mary Poppins has to be white (it is also set in the 1930s), which is probably why such a versatile actress is not higher on the list. Odds: 16 to 1

Amanda Seyfried

Amanda Seyfried has popped up recently in musicals like Mama Mia and Les Miserables, as well as updates of classic stories like Red Riding Hood and Pan. While she can sing and handle herself when it comes to comedy, it’s still hard to picture her stepping into the role Julie Andrews made famous. Odds: 12 to 1

Anna Kendrick

Anna Kendrick has shown the world that she can sing her ass off in movies like Pitch Perfect and even had her own popular single in the aftermath of the surprise hit with "Cups." With a stage background, she certainly has a handle on the theatricality of playing Mary Poppins, but would probably feel like a strange choice for the role, as it seems a little bubblier than Kendrick’s usual fare. Odds: 10 to 1

Kristen Bell

Veronica Mars star Kristen Bell helped Frozen become one of the biggest animated features of all time, not to mention a modern classic in many eyes. That has to have endeared her to Disney, it’s easy to picture her in the proper period appropriate garb, and she can certainly pull off the effervescent personality when she needs to. Odds: 11 to 2

Amy Adams

Flitting around the streets of modern Manhattan in a poofy dress in Enchanted, Amy Adams brought that animated Disney princess personality and aesthetic to life. Seeing what she can do in that part, it isn’t hard to imagine her stepping into the Mary Poppins role, harmonizing with chimney sweeps on the street and the like. Odds: 7 to 2

Emily Blunt

Though she has lately been playing a number of tough-as-nails badasses in movies like Edge of Tomorrow, Emily Blunt did show off her musical skills last year in Into the Woods. She could affect the perky, always positive Mary Poppins attitude with no problem and slip right into the role. Odds: 5 to 2

Anne Hathaway

Anne Hathaway is practically America’s sweetheart at this point, and we know she can sing thanks to her Academy Award-winning performance in Les Miserables. She is also, at least according to people who rate such things, the odds-on favorite to land the role of Mary Poppins. Odds: 6 to 4

I know it’s still way, way early in the going, and we won’t likely hear about such things for quite some time, but if this has to happen, and it appears it will, which of these actresses would you like to see play Mary Poppins? Or do you have someone else in mind? Sound off below.

Glee’s Lea Michele is no stranger to belting songs out for people, and it only makes sense that some of those instances would end in disaster. Michele’s recent performance of the Frozen hit ”Let It Go” looked and sounded wonderful on the small screen, but it was messier than that behind the scenes, and ended in a floor full of vomit.

Michele recently appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live to talk about the final season of Glee and how that’s going. And, of course, “Let It Go” gets brought up, which is when the actress shared just how much she actually let go.

I have no ill will toward Lea Michele, and nor do I take pleasure in her temporary misery, but I’m pretty positive this video needs to be on the Internet already so that it can live on in GIF infamy forever. Let’s get the Mythbusters cameras on this. I mean, if I just wanted to watch someone vomit, I’d walk around more during Mardi Gras season for the next month, but this is gold. “Let it grrrrlllp…!”

One has to assume Michele’s time working on Ryan Murphy’s upcoming horror comedy anthology Scream Queens will lead to even more disgusting stories. But before all that, Glee’s fourth Season 6 episode, “The Hurt Locker: Part 1,” airs tonight on Fox, with the final nine episodes of the series airing uninterrupted before the one-hour finale on March 20. Are you guys ready to let Glee go?

Ryan Murphy knows how to put together some amazing casts, as well as some disturbing visuals, and that’s no different for his upcoming Fox horror comedy anthology Scream Queens, which already locked in Jamie Lee Curtis and Emma Roberts. This inaugural season has gained four more actors in Glee’s Lea Michele, Ender’s Game’s Abigail Breslin, Nickelodeon star-turned-pop musician Ariana Grande, True Blood’s Joe Manganiello, and True Jackson, VP’s Keke Palmer. That’s a…killer…array of performers.

While plot details are being kept under wraps for now, Scream Queens will spend 15 episodes telling a story set on a college campus where a series of murders send everyone into hysterics. According to THR, a casting breakdown says three young women will lead the series, along with Curtis’ role and a father role. I’d say all the bases are covered here if that’s a legit report. Let’s take a look at each of the actors now.

Beyond a little voicework and a cameo on Sons of Anarchy, Lea Michele’s acting resume is pretty blank, so her hopping into a comedy horror is a fairly fascinating thing to consider. Her role within the show isn’t hinted at, but you can damned sure be certain the Murphy-Michele connection will lead to a musical performance of some kind. Or several.

Abigail Breslin is likely to be a co-lead with Roberts, according to THR, which would work well, since she’s well-versed in spookier genres. Accompanying her roles in Little Miss Sunshine and August: Osage County are leading parts in Zombieland, Haunter and The Call. Her upcoming roles are for the Arnold Schwarzenegger-starring zombie drama Maggie and Tyler Shields’ vengeful thriller Final Girl. She’s meant to break into TV on something filled with dead people.

Along with Michele, this will be Ariana Grande’s first shot at such adult material, as she’s more used to series like Sam & Cat and Victorious. She’s pegged for a recurring role, rather than a starring one, so she’ll probably be in the ones where Lea Michele sings a lot. There will be singing, dammit. Or queens screaming in tune at the very least.

The former Flash Thompson, Joe Manganiello’s main claim to fame in the horror genre has been True Blood, in which he played the testosterone-oozing werewolf Alcide. He’s definitely the right age for a “Father” role, although I hope he gets to do shit besides just reacting to what his daughter and her friends are going crazy over. I’m into him leading a neighborhood manhunt.

And then there’s Keke Palmer, who co-starred with Ariana Grande in a voice role sense on the various Winx Club series. She was in last year’s blood-soaked horror Animal from Brett Simmons, as well as a few episodes of Showtime’s Masters of Sex, but has yet to find a solid role to call her own. Let’s hope Scream Queens is it.

This first installment of Scream Queens is set to go into production this spring, and will air this fall on Fox. Do you guys like this new assortment of cast members?

Fox’s Glee is set to return for one last run at midseason. To celebrate the final year of high school and Glee Club-oriented antics the network has put together a new preview for the sixth and final season and it includes footage of Lea Michele singing “Let It Go” from Disney’s Frozen, because of course. Check it out, below.

Glee has a special two-hour premiere planned for the start of Season 6, and it looks like that premiere will be bringing Kurt and Rachel back to McKinley High. The two dealt with plenty of tumult last year, with Kurt dealing with a homophobic attack, Rachel trying to salvage her reputation after quitting Funny Girl and everyone dealing with Finn’s death in different ways. Returning to McKinley High should be pretty weird, but in the video Kurt and Rachel make it clear they have one goal in mind—starting up the disbanded Glee Club and returning it to its former glory.

Obviously, this includes stage lights, a glittery dress and big bold vocals from Lea Michele’s Rachel.

The setup looks pretty great, but does anyone else think Glee is missing a prime opportunity for a duet, here? Idina Menzel, who actually plays Elsa and sings the original version of “Let it Go” in Frozen also happens to play New Directions rival and Rachel’s biological mother, Shelby, on Glee. The crossover possibilities are endless, although I feel the Frozen song probably would have been more fitting (in terms of popularity) if Glee had hit the schedule this fall instead of this winter.

We’ve known for a while now that Season 6 will focus on the original people that starred in the show and that audiences initially fell in love with. Pulling Rachel and Kurt from the big city and bringing them back to their old stomping grounds should prove to be the easiest way to get the gang back together. That should give Season 6 a focus that the last couple of seasons have not had. Before we get there, the show will need to explain why Kurt might leave New York and what happened with Rachel’s big pilot, though.

Season 6 is expected to be a shortened season. Only 13 episodes were ordered, giving Ryan Murphy and co. just enough time to capably wrap up the storyline. You can catch new episodes of Fox’s Glee starting on Friday, January 9 at 9 p.m. ET. Or check out the full midseason schedule, here.

Sons of Anarchy is paving the road to Season 7 with excitement, surprising fans with against-the-grain casting choices and dropping ominous teasers that hint at a deadly final season. (All of these seasons have been deadly, surely, but I’m thinking some major players are going to bite the dust.) So it makes complete sense (by making no sense at all) that the latest guest star to join the violent drama is Glee actress and singer Lea Michele.

Unless Kurt Sutter decides to go completely off-course with his approach, Michele won’t be giving any vocal performances for her spot, which will come in Episode 6. According to EW, she’ll play a truck stop waitress named Gertie, whose single-motherdom makes her an empathetic ear for Gemma to talk to during a “difficult time.” That difficult time will probably include her son Jax (or a selection of other characters) wanting to murder her for her past behavior. Michele's scenes will probably be wrought with metaphorical language, as I can’t see Gemma earnestly confessing her laundry list of woes. My guess is that Gertie will live through the episode, although anything is possible.

Michele actually made the announcement herself through Twitter. Sutter is a social network superstar, so it’s no surprise that he embraces the sub-medium for some of the show’s headline news.

In case you were wondering who the “@Harparbar” refers to, it’s director/producer Paris Barclay, who will be helming Michele’s episode, along with the season premiere. He sat behind the camera for eleven episodes prior to Season 7, and has been an executive producer for the last few seasons. He also directed eight episodes of Glee over the years, so he and Michele already have a working relationship.

Michele joins the previously announced Marilyn Manson and Courtney Love as this year’s musician stars, while Annabeth Gish and Malcolm-Jamal Warner have also signed on for recurring roles. For the show’s Comic-Con panel, Sutter revealed a prequel series is in the cards at some point, and previewed some Season 7 footage, including Jax carving a swastika into a fellow prisoner’s stomach. Light-hearted stuff.

Sons of Anarchy debuts its final season on Tuesday, September 9, with a whopping 105-minute episode. Will you be along for this bloody ride?

Hey, remember when someone (allegedly) hacked into Glee star Chris Colfer’s Twitter account and sent out a message to fans that he’d been “let go” for personal reasons? Internet users the world over aggressively overreacted immediately, because that’s how we roll, but, of course, before we were even done making our WTF faces, his publicist showed up to say the actor had been hacked. So, who could possibly dislike Chris Colfer enough to hack his Twitter account? Well, it seems the answer to that question has more to do with Glee and less to do with the actor himself because someone else from the cast just got hacked too.

Those who follow star Lea Michele were treated to a cute little message from her Twitter account announcing she was preggers today. Turns out that’s (allegedly) a lie too, as per her publicist, who swears there’s no baby growing inside her. Given the weird timing related to the Colfer incident, we’ll go ahead and believe her (and TV Line). If so, that would mean there is a serial hacker on the loose who is hellbent on screwing with the lives of the various cast members.

So, let’s take a look at the suspects…

You know how much hate Glee got when it first hit the air and everyone who wasn’t a part of its demographic would make snarky comments about how dumb it was for high schoolers to break into song? Well, all of those haters don’t collectively hate Glee even a fraction as much as real fans who were on board with the show for years and got really pissed off at the direction it took hate Glee. There should be support groups for these ex-fans because they really, really need to talk out all that hate inside.

So, yeah, it’s entirely possible one of them got so fed up about Rachel not getting the boot or fed up with some other Glee-related bullshit that they decided to take it out on Rachel and Kurt.

Dade “Zero Cool” Murphy

Look: if you’ve seen Hackers, you know there’s nothing Zero Cool can’t do with a computer. He caused a 7 point drop in the New York Stock Exchange when he was 11. At this point (he’d be 37 now), his skills definitely would have advanced to the point where he could hack into some Twitter accounts. The only question is why he would do it. My theory is that Acid Burn is super into Glee, and since she’s forced Zero Cool to watch it for years, he decided to take a little revenge.

And don’t think being a fictional character would prevent him from doing this. He’s overcome far more difficult obstacles – like Penn Jillette and Matthew Lillard.

Another Glee Cast Member

I don’t know if you know this, but everyone on Glee seems to hate each other, and there’s more personal life drama than we could ever discuss in two paragraphs. Naya Rivera might get fired. Poor Cory Monteith died. Heather Morris had a naked picture scandal. There are all kinds of weird rumors about Lea Michele dating a gigolo. In short, it’s one steamy pile of weirdness, and everyone seems to agree there are a ton of grudges on set.

So, maybe one of the cast members got a little pissed off about being demoted or getting bad storylines. Maybe there’s some tension about who has the biggest trailer or who got to shoot more takes of their big song. I don’t pretend to know how this works, but when someone dies, the police always look at the spouse. And when someone gets hacked, you have to look at their supposed friends.

Me

Why do I care about this story so much? I could have easily ignored it and continued with the process of ranking every A League Of Their Own character by baseball ability. Instead, I stopped to write a story on Glee. Then, for no apparent reason, I turned it into a massive feature with pictures and suspects. That screams suspicious. Criminals love drawing attention to their own crimes. They also love inserting themselves into investigations too. For the record, I have not done that.

Still, you would be smart to look at me as a suspect. I work on the Internet for a living; so, I’m good with computers, which is another big red flag.

Ryan Murphy’s FOX musicomedy/after school special, Glee is about to hit one of the most sought-after milestones in TV and there’s far more than a parade going on: it’s a goddamn veritable smorgasbord of characters. Murphy has very publicly announced (either because he’s the king of casting overshares or as a way to strong-arm everyone into involvement) on Twitter that he’s inviting everyone back for the show’s 100th episode.

The move is not surprising, considering the 100th episode of any show is reason to throw a bit of a party, what with the possibility of syndication rights for re-airs of old episodes becoming available. It’s also nothing to snuff at, regardless of your opinions, because it’s not everyday that a television show can manage to hang on long enough to reach such a goal. Staying viable and wanted on television for that long is akin to riding a unicycle on a tightrope 400 feet in the air, trying to deliver ice cream cones to the waiting crowd on the other side.

So it makes sense that Murphy will spend much of the episode paying tribute. Premiering March 18 in its 8PM time slot, the 100th hour of McKinley High Hijinks will include a remix-and-mashup-apalooza featuring the top 10 Glee songs, as selected by the fans. It is said the episode will, according to the Hollywood Reporter, center on the current cast’s impending march towards graduation. Prepare yourself for a bevy of nostalgia and memory-recounting. (No word if those kooky puppets will be making a second appearance.)

And hopping on board the good ship will be some of the series’ popular guest stars and original show choir performers. Murphy has tweeted that many of the cast are set to return to not-so-mean streets of Lima, Ohio for what is sure to be a superstorm of singing, dancing, and jazz-handied life lessons worth celebrating (as the show is generally wont to do). So far confirmed to appear in the episode are fan favorites Heather Morris (who left the series prior to the birth of her son earlier this year), Harry Shum Jr, Mark Salling, recently crowned winner of Dancing with The Stars Amber Riley, and even occasional guest star Kristin Chenoweth.

There are, of course, still several faces up in the air. Dianna Agron (Quinn) is one of the few original stars that did not appear in the tribute episode for Cory Monteith that aired earlier this year, despite her character’s previous relationship with Monteith’s Finn Hudson. Additionally, there is the question of Matthew Morrison’s on-screen wife, Jayma Mays — who was downgraded from series regular last year — who has appeared on occasion throughout the show’s fifth season, but is busy starring in CBS’ The Millers. No doubt Mays will likely return, but mum’s the word on the Agron front.

Either way, the celebratory episode will no doubt be a joy for fans of the series. Just make sure your harmonies come correct.

Glee’s 100th episode will air on March 18 on FOX.

If you thought that Victor Fleming and Sam Raimi had already told you everything you needed to know about the cinematic side of L. Frank Baum’s classic The Wonderful Wizard of Oz series, then you are swirling in a tornado of misinformation. Somehow, a film more cartoonish adaptation than Michael Jackson’s The Wiz is coming to theaters.

Variety reports the Oz gang will once again reconvene for Summertime Entertainment’s 3-D animated musical tale Legends of Oz: Dorothy’s Return, which is in a distribution deal with Clarius Entertainment and will see a release in the beginning of 2014. Perhaps in time to try and rack up a Best Original Song nomination? With Academy Award nominated musician Bryan Adams and Toby Chu behind the music, that's not out of the question.

The film has been in the works for nearly three years, with accomplished animator Dan St. Pierre and Will Finn, who has spent many years working with Disney, co-directing. A teaser poster was released in 2011 with the title Dorothy of Oz, and the film presented a panel at Comic Con that summer as well. This is the first we've heard of the film's release since then, and it's not hard to guess that the success of Oz The Great And Powerful has the producers anxious to get their animated take in theaters.

Dorothy’s Return, which is mostly adapted from Roger Stanton Baum’s novel Dorothy of Oz, will follow the story of Dorothy, to be voiced by Lea Michele (Glee), as she returns to her Kansas home to find it completely demolished by the tornado that transported her to Oz. The film’s all-star cast includes Dan Aykroyd as the Scarecrow, Kelsey Grammer as the Tin Man, James Belushi as the Cowardly Lion, and Bernadette Peters as Glinda the Good Witch. Taking on other original characters are Martin Short, Hugh Dancy, Patrick Stewart, Oliver Platt, and Brian Blessed.

Glee’s Lea Michele has landed a big spokesperson deal. The bubbly TV star’s character has recently moved to college, helping her fans to see the 26-year-old actress as the bright, beautiful woman she is. Today, the actress was named the new face of L’Oréal Paris, and both the company and the actress feel the collaboration will be the perfect fit.

Michele recently spoke to People to discuss how some platforms that are important to herself, as well as the whole cast and crew of Glee, are also important to the beauty product company.

She also made sure to mention she uses all of the company’s products, and yada, yada, yada, but at least that last part of the message seems to be coming from the right place. I wish just once, however, that people would be honest and just admit they are doing a promotional deal for the money and the free product. As much as I dream about that hilarious moment, I should probably not be rooting for a gal to throw good money down the drain.

This deal has likely been in the works for a while, but if it had not been, I would say the recent photos of a sultry, very much grown-up Michele from the “Britney 2.0” episode of Glee might have done a lot to be convincing. In the photos, Michele dances around on the top of the table as she tries to convince guest star Kate Hudson she has the chops to make it in the big leagues. Apparently, L’Oréal Paris didn’t need that kind of convincing.

Glee came to Comic Con again with Lea Michele, Cory Monteith, Kevin McHale, Naya Rivera, Jenna Ushkowitz, Darren Criss, and producers Brad Falchuk, Ian Brennan, and Dante Di Loreto

Michael Ausiello hosted the panel and did the best he possibly could to get information out of the cast and producers about what Season 4 holds. Here's the rundown:

The season starts in September, school starts for McKinley and for Rachel in New York

Rachel's new teacher, played by Kate Hudson, isn't like Will at all, she uses negative re-enforcement.

Kurt and Santana are at McKinley when the season starts but not all characters do long distance relationships well...

Season 4's Britney Spears episode will be Season 4's second episode.

According to the producers Finn is “the question mark for Season 4”

McKinley needs new glee members and are “the underdogs” once again.

All of the regular cast will be returning, but not everyone will be in every episode. Chord Overstreet might be a regular, but that deal hasn't been made yet and Sam and Alex will be back from The Glee Project.

The producers talked about how Season 4 will be about the kids dealing with becoming adults and dealing with adult problems like rent and relationships. This transition happened to Rachel's character during her breakup with Finn. Lea Michelle said when she first read the scene, she thought it was out of character for Rachel but producer Brad Fulchuk explained: “Rachel had an idea about what love was, but needed to learn what adult love was. It was hard, but I wrote [the breakup scene] in one draft.”

The rest of the characters will be back, but their “adult problems” were kept under wraps.

Here's some non-Season 4 highlights:

Fans had mixed reactions on Darren Criss' summer beard. He says he doesn't shave when he's not working and this is his 3rd or 4th beard of the summer.

Brad Falchuk says he's written the same Rachel/Finn scene 7 times and it always gets cut. So much so that Lea Michelle and Cory Monteith joke that whenever they shoot a one-on-one Rachel/Finn scene it was automatically cut.

The pilot originally started with a purposefully campy disco montage, but got cut because people wouldn't get the camp aspect and just thought the show sucked.

Ian Brennan would love to do 90 minute episodes

What advice would Season 3 give Season 1 Santana? Naya Rivera: “Stay away from Finn.” There was a fainting scene where Rachel was supposed to fall into Finn's arms and on the first take Cory Monteith admits he “dropped” her. Lea Michelle: “You didn't drop me, you didn't even catch me.”

The panel started out with a 10 minute fan video re-capping the whole Glee movement, and that's what I'll leave you with now.

Following the announcement that Oxygen has officially renewed The Glee Project for a second season, comes the news that the series has secured its first guest mentor for the second season, and not only is it a big name, but she’s likely to have a lot of wisdom to share on the subject of being in Glee.

The Glee Project is a competition offers talented young people the chance to win a part in Fox’s popular musical dramedy series Glee. Oxygen sent out the official word today that Glee star Lea Michele is set to join The Glee Project to be the guest mentor for the series second season premiere episode. Michele tweeted the news this weekend, stating, “So excited to announce that I'll be guest mentoring on the season 2 premiere of ‘The Glee Project!”

The series began filming in Los Angeles early this past week. According to Oxygen’s announcement, Michele is just the first mentor to be revealed for the show’s second season. Given that Lea Michele is one of the main stars in the series, playing the role of Rachel Berry, The Glee Project sounds like it’ll be off to a big start when the series returns for Season 2 this summer.

Anne Hathaway has already snagged one of the big female roles in Tom Hooper's splashy upcoming adaptation of Les Miserables, the huge Broadway musical based on Victor Hugo's novel. Hathaway is set to play Fantine, the doomed factory worker, opposite Hugh Jackman as the hero Jean Valjean, Russell Crowe as the determined Inspector Javert, and My Week With Marilyn's Eddie Redmayne as Marius, a young man fighting in the French Revolution.

Marius, like any good musical character, is also caught in a love triangle between Fantine's daughter Cosette and Eponine, another splashy role that's currently being cast. According to The New York Post, Taylor Swift, Lea Michele, Scarlett Johansson and Evan Rachel Wood are all in the running for the role, and with the film set for a December 7 release date next year, casting is likely to move fast so shooting can get started. Michele has the strongest Broadway chops of the bunch, having played Young Cosette herself as a child and belting out every musical ballad known to man week after week on Glee. But according to the Post, Swift brings her country music fan base, Wood her indie cred, and Johansson acting ability so… apparently the choice isn't as easy as it seems?

Les Miserables is such a massive story that it's impossible for one casting decision to make the film great or ruin it, so I'm trying not to get too worked up over the idea of Taylor Swift and her frilly-weak singing voice in any musical, period. With Hugh Jackman in the lead it can't be all bad, but… seriously, Taylor Swift? Just cast Lea Michele, fill out the rest of the cast with actual Broadway actors, and let this Les Miz hold its head high.

We let you know a few months ago that another take on The Wizard of Oz was coming, and unlike all the other big ones in development, this one was going to be animated. At the time Kelsey Grammer, Dan Aykroyd, Jim Belushi and Martin Short had signed on to provide voices, but there was still no one to voice Dorothy in this new, musical take on the story.

Today we heard again from the producers behind the film, and it seems they've struck casting gold: Lea Michele, of Glee fame and Broadway pedigree, will be making her feature voice acting debut as Dorothy, and will contribute vocals to several musical numbers as well. Also signing on recently are Hugh Dancy, Oliver Platt, Patrick Stewart and Broadway's Megan Hilty. They've also decided to produce the film in stereoscopic 3D, an announcement that really should not come as a surprise. Earlier we reported that a release date was planned for next April, but now it seems production won't even finish until the end of 2011. It may be a while before we see Dorothy of Oz in theaters, but with casting this spot-on, it may just be worth the wait.
