When I think about a wedding taking place in Madison Square Garden with a thousand guests, words that come to mind are massive and extravagant. While both those are likely true, there’s actually a different word a few of Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce's wedding guests kept using to describe this event that felt like a royal wedding of sorts, and it’s a surprising one.

So, Good Morning America’s Robin Roberts, Michael Strahan and George Stephanopoulos were at Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s wedding on July 3. Then, the following morning, they shared some details about it during GMA’s broadcast. All three of them agreed that the ceremony was very “intimate,” and the explanation as to why began with Roberts saying:

Yeah, intimate is not the word I would have expected here. Madison Square Garden is not an “intimate” venue, and let’s all remember that after Swift and Kelce got married, a billboard lit up right outside The Garden that read “JUST&T MARRIED.” It was a ginormous event, and the guest list for this wedding proved that the space was warranted. However, Stephanopoulos did address that point, saying that for MSG, the wedding was “intimate.”

Considering the details we’ve learned about Swift and Kelce’s wedding – including the fact that Adam Sandler officiated it (and gave the couple the advice to “keep kissing”) and the couple had favors that featured a lyric from “Blank Space” on them – I can totally see how they transformed MSG into a personal space. Apparently, that meant it was “intimate” too.

Between making the venue look like a garden and also inviting their friends and neighbors alongside the various A-listers, they really were able to make it very intimate, as Robin Roberts noted:

We do know Swift’s childhood best friend, Abigail Anderson Berard, was in attendance, and it’s no secret how close Kelce is with his friends from his hometown. So, it makes perfect sense to me that the guest list featured a wide variety of folks, including their “neighbors” and “high school friends.”

Plus, Swift and Kelce’s engagement photos made it seem like that moment was simultaneously extravagant and intimate as well. So, I’m not shocked that vibe carried over to their wedding.

According to Michael Strahan, this was Swift and Kelce’s “dream wedding,” and he called it “amazing.” Considering they managed to successfully turn a huge wedding at Madison Square Garden into an “intimate” event, I assume it was even more magical than I’d originally imagined.

It will soon be time to return to the ballroom when Dancing With the Stars Season 34 premieres on the 2025 TV schedule in the fall. The cast has slowly been getting revealed, with conservationist Robert Irwin and social media star Alix Earle being the first celebrity contestants announced. At this point, it’s hard to tell who else will be added. However, Michael Strahan inadvertently threw his hat in the ring, and I would love to see him on the dance floor after watching this.

Not only does the former NFL player have a relationship with DWTS’ home network, ABC, as he is an anchor on Good Morning America, but he’s previously appeared on the dancing competition series, just not as a contestant. In 2023, he was a guest judge for Season 32. Now, one of the current hosts is trying to get him on the show.

DWTS co-host Alfonso Ribeiro appeared on GMA earlier this month and said that a certain former Giants player would be great on the show, so Strahan took it as his cue to show off moves:

It might have been a very brief dance, as Strahan told Ribeiro that was all he was getting, but it actually wasn’t that bad. Although it might be hard to fly to and from New York and LA every week, I’m sure Disney would give Strahan a bit of flexibility if it meant competing on Dancing With the Stars and still co-anchoring GMA. Plus, he would be just the latest athlete to compete on the show, and they typically do pretty well.

Whether or not Strahan will ever actually appear on Dancing With the Stars as a contestant is unknown, but it could be possible. Ribeiro clearly seems interested in having him on, and since he certainly knows what it takes to not only be on DWTS but to win, I think he'd be a great competitor. For now, though, it seems like the athlete-turned-anchor is just fine announcing the season's casts on GMA rather than actually competing for the mirrorball.

Even if Strahan doesn’t do Dancing With the Stars, he'll still be a big presence on ABC. On top of Good Morning America, he’s hosting The $100,000 Pyramid. He seems to be quite dedicated to the network, so it's always possible that he could come back to DWTS as a guest judge for Season 34. Then, maybe they can try again to get him as a contestant for Season 35.

As of now, a premiere date for Season 34 has yet to be announced, but the wait will be worth it, especially if the cast keeps slowly getting revealed. I'm still hoping that Michael Strahan will compete and join fan-favorite Aussie Robert Irwin and influencer Alix Earle. However, for now, nothing is confirmed and we'll just have to hold out hope.

Everything is bigger in Texas, they say, and that certainly includes the star power of its homegrown celebrities. From the biggest stars in music to the biggest on the silver screen, the biggest celebs in the squared circle, and almost everywhere else, Texas has bred them all.

Matthew McConaughey was born in Uvalde, Texas, raised mostly in Longview, TX, went to college in Austin, and got his first big break in show business in Dazed & Confused, which was, of course, filmed in Texas. McConaughey still lives in Austin. It makes sense that the proud Texan wants to see more movies made in his home state. McConaughey has also sparked rumors in the past that he might be interested in running for political office in Texas, though he's usually brushed them aside. Politician or not, the man sure loves his home state. 

Renée Zellweger

She may have won accolades for playing an English woman, but Renée Zellweger is Texas through and through. The Bridget Jones' Diary star was born outside Houston in Katy, TX, and grew up there before attending the University of Texas. It was in Austin that she discovered her love for acting and she landed her first on-screen role as an extra in Dazed & Confused. 

Owen Wilson

Dallas-born Owen Wilson has played a lot of fantastic roles over the years, but none better than his many roles in the films of Wes Anderson. Wilson and fellow Texan Anderson have been friends since their college days at the University of Texas. It's also worth noting that both of Owen Wilson's brothers, Luke and Andrew, also hail from Texas, of course. 

Jim Parsons

While some people ooze "Texas," Houston native Jim Parsons doesn't, really. You might guess he'd be from New York or Chicago, but nope, he's a Texan. Born and raised in the suburbs of Houston, he also attended the University of Houston before striking out for Hollywood and making it big. 

Carol Burnett

Comedy legend Carol Burnett grew up in California, attending high school right in Hollywood, but the Annie star was born deep in the heart of Texas, in San Antonio in 1933. Though her vast career has taken her far from Texas, the state can still call her one of its own. 

Beyoncé

If the stars are brighter and everything is bigger in Texas, then it only makes sense that one of the biggest stars would come from Houston. There is no bigger star on the planet than Beyoncé, who was born and raised in Texas along with her sister Solange and her Destiny's Child bandmate, LaTavia Roberson. 

Selena Gomez

Like many other native Texas, Selena Gomez is proud of her Mexican heritage. The Only Murders In The Building star was born in Grand Prairie, Texas, near Dallas, and although her many acting roles and career took her to California early in life, her family's roots are firmly in the Lone Star State. Gomez is named for another Texas native as well, the late Tejano superstar Selena, who was murdered in Corpus Christi in 1995. 

Woody Harrelson

Woody Harrelson first got famous playing a farm boy-turned-bartender from Indiana on Cheers, and while he moved to Ohio as a teenager, Harrelson was born in Midland, Texas. He's also tight with his occasional co-star and fellow Texan, Matthew McConaughey, and, according to McConaughey, the two could even be brothers! 

Tommy Lee Jones

Sure, he was roommates at Harvard with Al Gore, but Tommy Lee Jones is all Texan. The No Country For Old Men star was born in the small town of San Saba, Texas, and raised in Midland. He's never really strayed far either, as he has resided in Terrell Hills, TX, near San Antonio, for years. He's also a member of the Texas Cowboy Hall of Fame, and the Texas Film Hall of Fame. There really isn't another actor who screams "Texas" like Jones, is there?

Steve Martin

Waco-born Steve Martin is one of the funniest people in film history. While he grew up mostly in Southern California, his roots are originally in central Texas, where he was born in Waco, on August 14th, 1945, the same day that the Japanese surrendered in World War II. 

Jamie Foxx

The multi-talented Jamie Foxx started acquiring his many skills as a kid in Terrell, TX, outside Dallas, where he was born and raised. As a kid, he played piano and excelled at sports at Terrell High School. He moved to Southern California after school and in 1991, scored a role on In Living Color, and the rest is history. 

Jennifer Garner

Jennifer Garner moved to West Virginia when she was just three, so she probably doesn't remember much of anything from her early life in Texas, but the Daredevil star was born in Houston. 

Kelly Clarkson

Kelly Clarkson exploded into show business by winning the first-ever season of American Idol and she's been a star ever since. It's a journey that started when she was born in Forth Worth, TX, and raised in the suburb of Burleson, just outside the city. While her career may have taken her to LA and New York, her heart (and sports allegiance) has stayed in Texas.

Wes Anderson

People love to debate what the best Wes Anderson movie is, but if you are wondering what is his most personal, it's probably Bottle Rocket, which was filmed almost entirely in Anderson's home state of Texas. It stars a couple of fellow Texans as well, Owen and Luke Wilson. While the Wilsons are from Dallas originally, Anderson hails from Houston. 

Megan Thee Stallion

Megan Thee Stallion is a triple threat. She proved herself on the mic, and on the dance floor, first, then she started taking over TV and movies by starring in her first film in 2023. Before all that happened, though, she grew up in and around Houston. The “H-town Hottie” even got her nickname, Stallion, in the city. 

Michelle Rodriguez

Michelle Rodriguez has been in some huge film franchises, like Fast & Furious and Avatar. She kind of grew up all over, including in the Dominican Republic and Puerto Rico, but she was born and lived for a few years of her life in San Antonio, TX. 

Ethan Hawke

Ethan Hawke's parents were high school sweethearts who had Ethan shortly after they were married. Born in 1970 in Austin, TX, Hawke moved to the Northeast with his mother but spent his summers in Fort Worth with his dad. His grandfather even served in the Texas House of Representatives for 10 years. He has deep Texas roots that he is proud of. 

Hilary Duff

Lizzie McGuire star Hilary Duff is another Texas girl. Born in Houston, her family also spent time in San Antonio before moving to California when Duff was still young to pursue her acting career. Boy did that pay off quickly! 

Jennifer Love Hewitt

From a young age, Jennifer Love Hewitt was showing off her talents, singing and dancing across Texas, where she was born in 1979. Eventually, even the Lone Star State could not contain her and she moved to LA with her family, where she soon landed her first starring role on the legendary Party Of Five, after having roles on the Disney Channel and elsewhere as a kid. 

Eva Longoria

Born in Corpus Christi, TX in 1975, Eva Longoria has always been proud of her Tejano roots. In fact, her ancestry and culture are so important to her that she returned to college to earn a Master's degree in Chicano studies from Cal State-Northridge.

Forest Whitaker

Though he went to high school in Los Angeles, Forest Whitaker's life began in Longview, Texas. Every summer of his youth, he spent time with his grandparents in Longview and still has family all over Texas. 

Taylor Sheridan

It's no surprise that Taylor Sheridan is from Texas. While he was actually born in North Carolina, the Yellowstone creator is the definition of a true Texan. Not only did he grow up in Fort Worth, but he owns a working ranch in the Lone Star state called 6666 Ranch. He and his family live in Weatherford, Texas.

Farrah Fawcett

She might have had the reputation of being the all-American blonde from California, but Farrah Fawcett was born and raised in Texas. After high school in Corpus Christi, she attended the University of Texas before heading to Hollywood where she immediately started landing acting and modeling jobs. Once she scored her role on Charlie's Angels, the rest is history. 

Isaiah Washington

Controversial actor Isaiah Washington's most prominent role was in the first three seasons of Grey's Anatomy. Since then, he's worked on numerous films and TV shows, before announcing his retirement in 2023. He was born and raised in Houston. 

William Jackson Harper

Star of The Good Place William Jackson Harper is a native Texan, born in Dallas and raised in Garland, TX, where he first started acting in high school. His Texas-sized determination kept him going when he struggled early in his career, before finding a starring role on the Kristen Bell-led sitcom. 

Dakota Johnson

It might be surprising to learn that despite being the daughter of Hollywood royalty, Dakota Johnson was born in Texas. She was born to Melanie Griffith and Don Johnson in Austin while her father shot a movie in the Lone Star State. The star was then raised in Los Angeles, of course, but Austin will always be where she came into this world. Since then, she's built a great career. 

"Stone Cold" Steve Austin

Steven James Anderson loves his home state so much, that he took a name based on its capital, Austin. Better known as "Stone Cold" Steve Austin, the WWE superstar was, in fact, born in Austin, though he was raised mostly in Edna, TX. The wrestler still owns property in the state, Broken Skull Ranch, near Tilden, TX. It's not like he hides his love for the state either, as one of his many nicknames is "The Texas Rattlesnake."

Gary Busey

People sometimes forget that Gary Busey was once nominated for an Oscar for playing Texan Buddy Holly in The Buddy Holly Story, and the actor also hails from Holly's home state. Busey was born in the Houston area; Baytown, Texas, to be exact. He moved to Oklahoma in elementary school and it was in Tulsa that the enigmatic actor began his show biz career. One of his first big breaks in Hollywood was a TV show that was set in Texas called, appropriately, The Texas Wheelers.

Gina Carano

Gina Carano was controversially dismissed from The Mandalorian and whether you agree with the decision or not, it's hard to argue that the MMA star brought a little bit of that strong individualism Texas is known for to the role and her career. Something that might be inherent in her, as she was born in Dallas County Texas.

Shaquille O'Neal

Texas is a huge state, with a lot of personality, so it only makes sense that a celebrity who's physically large and has a personality to match would hail from the state. Shaquille O’Neal is an Army brat, so he moved around a lot as a kid, including being born in New Jersey. It's in Texas, however, where the world started to pay attention to O'Neal as he became a standout basketball star, eventually becoming a top college recruit and going to LSU for school. He was drafted into the NBA as the #1 overall pick in 1992, and the rest is history.  

Robin Wright

Robin Wright might be best known for playing a Washington insider on House Of Cards and a Buttercup in The Princess Bride, but before all that, she was born in Dallas in 1966. Her parents divorced when she was young and her family moved to Southern California, but for those two years, she was a Texan. 

Michael Strahan

He first made a name for himself playing football in New York, and now he's known for hosting Good Morning America in New York, but Michael Strahan is a born and bred Texan. He was born in Houston, and went to high school there, though for a little while he lived with his family in Germany where his father was stationed in the Army. 

There you have it, a list that proves everything is, indeed, bigger in Texas. The toast, the steer, the plains, and the stars. Not just the stars in the sky, but the stars in Hollywood and beyond. Few states can compete with the Lone Star state when it comes to star power. 

ABC is getting back into weeknight game shows this fall, and while Michael Strahan is no stranger to competition in primetime, he's hosting The $100,000 Pyramid instead of playing football. CinemaBlend recently caught up with Strahan ahead of The $100,000 Pyramid's Season 7 premiere and learned from Strahan that he was a little freaked out when he realized that he's been a TV host longer than he was an NFL player. 

After he explained the most important part of his job on The $100,000 Pyramid, I asked Michael Strahan if he was aware that he's officially spent more time as a TV host than he did during his 15-year Hall of Fame career with the New York Giants. The former defensive end and Super Bowl champion admitted the revelation was shocking and shared how he found out for the first time during a conversation with a former teammate: 

In addition to his hosting duties on The $100,000 Pyramid, Michael Strahan has served as a full-time co-host on Good Morning America since 2016. Before that, he was a co-host with Kelly Ripa on Live with Kelly and Michael and even juggled both gigs at the same time briefly. Of course, Strahan has also been a longtime part of Fox NFL Sunday as a panelist on their crew, which still allows him to talk about his love of the game. 

For now, Michael Strahan seems thrilled to continue hosting The $100,000 Pyramid for Season 7 and watch alongside audiences as celebrities paired with contestants all compete for some big prize winnings. The current advertised lineup of celebrities for Season 7 includes Tiffany Haddish, Wayne Brady, Rosie O’Donnell, Lisa Ann Walter, Tip “T.I.” Harris, Jordin Sparks, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Josh Peck, Lauren Ash, and Joel Kim Booster. It's also said that more celebrities will pop up throughout the season, so those tuning in should keep an eye peeled.

As mentioned, The $100,000 Pyramid will be one part of ABC's Wednesday programming alongside two other iconic game shows. Celebrity Jeopardy! is making a comeback, and Celebrity Wheel Of Fortune is raising the stakes for Pat Sajak's upcoming retirement by making his co-host Vanna White a contestant. There are lots of exciting things coming from this block of programming and tons of fun for the entire family who wants to play along at home.

ABC is bringing back The $100,000 Pyramid for Season 7 this week, and once again fans will see Michael Strahan guiding celebrities and their contestant partners through a high-stakes guessing game where there's always a chance to win some big cash. It's a fast-paced show filled with comedians miming and yelling with their teammates, while trying to guess secret words. Which had me wondering, what does Strahan view as his biggest duty as host throughout all this? 

Michael Strahan was kind enough to take some time to talk to CinemaBlend ahead of the return of America's favorite financial structure game, The $100,000 Pyramid, and to discuss the most important job he has during filming. Unlike Strahan's former job at Good Morning America, Fox NFL Sunday, or his shorter-than-expected stint with Kelly Ripa on Live!, he has come to realize that his most important role in the game show realm is not to interject himself too much: 

Michael Strahan wouldn't be celebrating more than a decade as a television host across various hit programs if he wasn't an entertaining individual who earned his time in the spotlight. When it comes to The $100,000 Pyramid, however, it's more about letting the other celebrities and contestants make the comedy happen. This is why Strahan defers to some of his favorite celebrities like Jason Alexander rather than trying to do something more elaborate and time-consuming on camera, such as convincing the world into thinking he filled his iconic tooth gap. That's not what this kind of host is best for. 

The $100,000 Pyramid will continue to bring in many awesome celebrities to keep things entertaining in Season 7, andto  ensure Michael Strahan can continue to "steer the ship" while they have us in stitches with their funny moments. Celebrities teased for this season include Tiffany Haddish, Wayne Brady, Rosie O’Donnell, Lisa Ann Walter, Tip “T.I.” Harris, Jordin Sparks, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Josh Peck, Lauren Ash, and Joel Kim Booster. It's also said that more will be added, so keep an eye peeled for who might appear and try to guess some words. I have my fingers crossed that it could be Tom Brady so I could see him and Strahan trade jabs back and forth years after their Super Bowl matchup. 

ABC is leaning into game shows for fall programming as The $100,000 Pyramid will join Celebrity Jeopardy! and Celebrity Wheel Of Fortune for a Wednesday primetime full of games. All three are the perfect types of shows that families can sit at home and play along with, so I have little doubt any of these shows will have trouble finding an audience come premiere time. I know that I, for one, will be glued to the television.

Catch the premiere of The $100,000 Pyramid on ABC on Wednesday, September 27th at 10:00 p.m. ET. It's one of many shows popping up on the 2023 fall schedule, so those in need of some quality television to watch during this lull in programming should check it out and figure out their primetime viewing for the coming months. 

Celebrities and game shows go hand in hand. Dating all the way back to the days of Match Game, Hollywood Squares and Steve Harvey’s extremely popular Family Feud (which frequently produces viral videos thanks to wild answers), regular contestants have relied on celebrities to win them cold, hard cash. This has been happening on ABC’s $100,000 Pyramid for years, with GMA co-host Michael Strahan presiding over the contest since 2016. And since then, Strahan has collected a string of recurring celebrity guest hosts that he sincerely enjoys seeing return to the show to play along… as well as the one celebrity guest who is so competitive, they want another chance to come back and do better.

Match Game and Hollywood Squares always capitalized on recurring guests, and contestants enjoyed playing with (or against) all stars like the late Gilbert Gottfried or Charles Nelson Reilly. For $100,000 Pyramid, host Michael Strahan also enjoys seeing the same faces come back, and when he sat down with CinemaBlend to discuss the show’s return for a summer season on ABC, the former NFL player told us:

You can’t take the competitive blood out of Olympic champion Lindsey Vonn, who undoubtedly got the juices flowing while playing $100,000 Pyramid alongside Michael Strahan (unlike the time she stripped down to promote her healthy living book). And it sounds like, after being told that the game was over, Vonn would have wanted a second chance at success. Even though, as Vonn likely knows, it’s not about her, but rather about the contestants that she’s playing for, and the money that they can win. But when we all tune in to primetime game shows, we do root for specific celebrities, and cheer on contestants who we want to see succeed. It’s part of the fun. 

The latest season of $100,000 Pyramid returned to the airwaves on ABC on Sunday, July 10. It airs at 10 pm, and is part of a block of game show programming on the network that includes The Final Straw with comedian Janelle James, the new show Claim to Fame with Kevin and Frankie Jonas, and the latest edition of The Bachelorette. Just, don’t look to host Jesse Palmer’s social media accounts for spoilers, because you won’t find any there!

Many parents believe their children are special individuals who possess amazing talent, and even like to boast about them. And that’s exactly what Good Morning America’s Michael Strahan did for his artist daughter. Strahan put on his super dad cape by adorably sharing his daughter’s artwork with his social media followers.

Being a proud dad, the Good Morning America host took to his Instagram to give his daughter’s artwork some shine. Michael Strahan called on art lovers to visit her website if they were interested in seeing or purchasing more of her art. He reminded followers her artwork is on sale. There’s nothing more adorable than seeing a parent take pride in their child’s career. Judging by Michael Strahan’s caption, he wanted to make sure his daughter got all the love and profits she deserves for her beautiful work. The GMA host managed to use his celebrity to draw some attention to an artist who may need an extra push. But it wasn’t just Strahan who loved his daughter’s work.

Upon the GMA host posting his daughter’s artwork, fans started showering praise on the beautiful painting. There was one notable person in Michael Strahan’s comment section. His fellow NFL Sunday host Jay Glazer kept his praise short and sweet by writing:

Apparently, praise wasn’t the only thing Michael Strahan’s daughter got out of the deal. A fan took the NFL Sunday host’s words to heart by paying for a piece from his daughter. The person said:

But none of the commenters could compare to a certain person’s comment on Michael Strahan’s post. Upon seeing her father’s Instagram post, Michael Strahan’s daughter popped up in his comment section. While she didn’t leave any words, Tanita Strahan did leave two red hearts. She was clearly appreciative of her father not only supporting her career but helping her make money from her work.

The younger Strahan has made her presence as a visual artist well known on social media. She seems to dabble in a little bit of everything, as seen in her Instagram post below:

At least, Michael Strahan’s post about his daughter wasn’t a prank this time. But it’s nice to see the former NFL star highlighting his family after his lunchtime series ended in 2020 and a rough start to 2021. In honor of April Fools' Day this year, Michael Strahan managed somehow to pull off the most unbelievable prank that anyone could’ve seen coming: filling in his iconic tooth gap. It was, indeed, a prank, but one that quickly spiraled down a viral rabbit hole. People actually believed the gap was gone for good. Almost a month later, the Good Morning America host opened up about the regrets he has for pulling off the one prank to rule them all.

Apparently, Michael Strahan – a popular daytime talk show host and Pro Football Hall of Famer – didn’t anticipate that his fans would care about him and his most noticeable feature. Moreover, he didn’t think people would actually believe he had his gap filled in. But they did, and it inevitably had quite the polarizing effect among fans. When asked about the mishap on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, Strahan said:

Michael Strahan must admit, though, that he put a lot of effort into a prank that he didn’t think fans would believe in the first place. The ex-NFL player had people filming him at his real-life dentist’s office in Manhattan getting the faux procedure done, days ahead of April Fools' Day. It was so believable, in fact, that his dentist reported how more than 100 people contacted him in the aftermath to get the Strahan special.

Clearly, Michael Strahan may have bitten off more than he could chew with his tooth gap prank. Perhaps it’s better left to the professionals like Eric Andre or Sacha Baron Cohen or everyone on the Jackass set. Some things are iconic for a reason, and we just don’t mess around with them lightly. Tooth gaps, I guess, are one of them.

Some may know him as one of the charismatic hosts of Good Morning America. Others might know him as a former defensive end for the New York Giants, with a Super Bowl ring and Hall of Fame spot to boot. Regardless though, everyone knows Michael Strahan for his tooth gap and, when he rick-rolled his fans on social media into believing that he filled in the infamous gap – well, let’s just say his actual dentist got the last laugh.

Michael Strahan initially did the tooth gap fill-in as an April Fool’s prank on Twitter – and it was elaborate. Days ahead of April 1st, he went to his actual dentist, Dr. Lee Gause at Smile Design Manhattan and had the “process” filmed, with the post’s caption reading, “I did it. #GoodbyeGap.” On April Fool’s Day, though, he revealed it was all a ruse. But apparently, the prank was good business for his dentist, who told TMZ that “more than 100” people had “flooded” his office with calls to get the same fill-in procedure done. Fans following Michael Strahan’s faux-lead is funny, though not as funny as that time he called Birds of Prey a Marvel movie. But the rick-roll is also kind of mind boggling because if Strahan has taught us anything, it’s that there’s power in the gap, or in other words, power in our supposed imperfections. But for those considering a life-altering change like that – exercise caution because Strahan’s dentist reportedly said that even if Strahan truly asked him to do it, he would refuse because it is his “signature.”

And one of Ryan Reynolds' Deadpool crew members posted a pretty wild behind-the-scenes photo to mark the occasion.

All in all, it’s a good rule of thumb for the future to assume that any celeb shakeups happening the week leading up to April Fool’s Day is just a Michael Strahan tooth gap-level rick roll, heading straight for you. Good Morning America co-host Michael Strahan went mysteriously missing from the daytime talk show last week before news finally broke that he was out of the studio due to a positive COVID-19 test. Strahan returned to GMA this week with a message for viewers, although he appeared via video recording rather than alongside fellow hosts T.J. Holmes, Robin Roberts, and George Stephanopoulos, the latter of whom actually tested positive for COVID himself back in 2020. Strahan's message was optimistic and, more than anything else, thankful.

Michael Strahan didn't appear live on Good Morning America, but the recorded message he sent in seemed to show the former NFL star in as good of spirits as could be expected. Strahan said:

Michael Strahan has evidently received a lot of well-wishes from fans while he has been out from Good Morning America to recover from COVID. He didn't say whether or not he followed all the advice he received for how he could feel better, but whatever he has done since his positive test, it seems to have worked to the point that he's feeling much better. In fact, he's clearly anxious to get back to work.

Not all celebrities have been so lucky in dealing with their own cases of COVID-19, with family members and even stars themselves speaking out about the effects of the illness. For all that Michael Strahan is grateful to everybody for wishing him well, he also delivered some warnings and advice of his own when it comes to people protecting themselves from the pandemic. Strahan went on in his message, saying:

Using the Good Morning America platform to spread a message about following the protocols while he's still in quarantine means he could reach a large audience. Michael Strahan didn't deliver a date for when Good Morning America viewers can expect to see him back in the studio with the other co-hosts, but perhaps he'll be able to contribute more remotely since he's hoping to get back to work. Michael Strahan's time on daytime television has faced some ups and downs over the years, but Good Morning America viewers had every reason to get used to seeing his face on a daily basis despite changes in 2020. The former football star and current Good Morning America host has been absent from the morning talk show all week, however, and now the reason for his absence is reportedly due to a positive COVID-19 test.

Michael Strahan is in quarantine following a positive test for COVID-19 after learning that he was exposed during the previous week, according to TMZ sources, which further state that his daughters were in contact with their father following his exposure and are being tested too. Jean, their mother, is being tested as well despite living apart from Strahan. Only Strahan himself is said to have gotten his results at the time of writing, with his daughters and their mom still waiting.

Although he has been missing from Good Morning America so far this week, he will reportedly appear during the broadcast on Thursday, January 28 to talk about his diagnosis, as he is seemingly not suffering the kind of severe symptoms that have taken other stars of the entertainment industry out of commission for quite some time. The news of his positive test comes after he appeared remotely for Fox NFL Sunday to comment on the NFC Championship over the weekend, when he would normally be in studio, albeit spaced from the others per COVID protocols.

Considering the NFL season is coming to an end with the Super Bowl on February 7, it should be interesting to see how much he contributes to Fox NFL Sunday. It's possible that his presumed appearance on Good Morning America will shed some light on what he has planned for Super Bowl Sunday as well as his future in the coming weeks on GMA. Strahan also isn't the only GMA host to be diagnosed with COVID over the past year.

As for how Michael Strahan is feeling, he posted a video of himself in his "man cave" four days ago that couldn't have been pre-recorded a long time beforehand:

This was posted before the NFL game on Sunday, so he could be feeling worse now than he did then, but he was clearly working even when quarantined at home. Hopefully Michael Strahan's recovery will be as easy as possible, even if he doesn't return to Good Morning America in the studio any time too soon. Updates on that front should be on the way in the not-too-distant future.

When the global health crisis began, GMA 3: Strahan, Sara & Keke was replaced with a daily hour-long program called Pandemic: What You Need To Know. The program featured interview and feature segments from medical experts regarding COVID-19. The show would later be retitled GMA 3: What You Need To Know so that it could encompass more news. And last month, reports confirmed that SSK would not be returning to the network.

Strahan, Sara & Keke did, however, still find an audience after ending its broadcast run. Palmer and co-hosts Michael Strahan and Sara Haines have since done virtual check-ins through the show’s YouTube channel. As of right now, the channel has not released any new videos in over a month.

Even though the reasoning behind the program’s demise seemed clear, it’s still good to see Keke Palmer setting the record straight. Celebrity activism has been a hot topic for a while, even more so after the death of George Floyd. So it’s understandable that Palmer would want to make sure audiences don’t get the wrong impression about what caused the show’s end.

Keke Palmer originally joined Strahan & Sara, which starred Michael Strahan and Sara Haines, in June 2019 as a fill-in host while Haines went on maternity leave. About a month later, Palmer was added as a third host, and the show was renamed GMA3: Strahan, Sara & Keke.

Early this year, production on the show was suspended following the outbreak of COVID-19 and daily reruns of the program were replaced with Pandemic: What You Need To Know. It was soon renamed GMA3: What You Need To Know so the program could be more all-encompassing. During this time, Keke Palmer made headlines for her active protesting and, earlier this month, it was reported that GMA3: Strahan, Sara & Keke had been cancelled and that What You Need To Know would be taking its place on a permanent basis.

In a lengthy Instagram post, Keke Palmer, admitted that she would’ve preferred not to publicly address the topic of the show’s cancellation. However, she explained that she chose to speak out in order to squash a “narrative” that gets thrown around from time to time:

With this, Palmer went on to explain that the end of Strahan, Sara & Keke was not linked to her protesting or support of the Black Lives Matter movement. She would go onto explain that she didn’t sign on for the project in the way that one would join a “seasonal” show. And while the project may have ended, she stressed that her relationship with ABC isn’t necessarily finished:

When the initial cancellation happened, it was only natural that people would have questions, especially when other actors like John Boyega have been speaking up in the midst of worldwide protests. In her original post, Palmer included a photo of a meme depicting her activism. Check it out below:

With the coronavirus pandemic ongoing, news outlets are shifting priorities in coverage to better handle the latest updates from around the world. For some, that means sacrificing programming elsewhere, which is exactly what ABC will be doing in the meantime with Strahan, Sara & Keke. Michael Strahan's show will be put on hold for the time being in order to usher in a new program to take its place: Pandemic: What You Need To Know.

The new series, which is set to premiere Wednesday, March 18 at 1:00 p.m. ET, will be anchored by Amy Robach. With the help of ABC News' chief medical correspondent Jennifer Ashton, the goal of the program is "to address the widespread issues caused by the global pandemic and offer solutions from those adjusting to a new way of life," according to ABC. The program will re-broadcast each day on ABC News at 4 p.m. ET.

Pandemic: What You Need To Know won't just cover the updates on the virus. It will also give families tips on how to navigate the rapid change of life as we know it. This includes tips for homeschooling children, and conversations with experts who will help lay out the facts and debunk the fiction circulating about the illness. Essentially, this program can be a guide to navigating the "new normal" that is affecting millions living across the nation presently.

Strahan, Sara & Keke has been a part of the ABC lineup since 2018, and is considered an extension of Good Morning America. As mentioned, the switch-up is only temporary, and part of multiple networks' efforts to further educate the public about the importance of social distancing and preventing the spread of coronavirus. Once the pandemic crisis is over, it's likely that ABC will bring back the program.

Michael Strahan and crew aren't the only ones sacrificing a slot at ABC either. ABC has also flip-flopped the time slots for Jimmy Kimmel Live! and Nightline, as the former has had its production suspended for at least the next two weeks. So, if there is anyone with a tinfoil hat on thinking this is all a front for some secret Good Morning America shakeup, it really isn't.

In fact, multiple networks have committed to alter their programming in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic. NBC, Telemundo, and Fox News are also making moves in their programming in order to share more information about the coronavirus in place of typical opinion-based shows. With more and more shows going into hiatus or suspending production, this may be one of the few new things to watch on television in the distant future.

Superhero movies. There’s just so damn many of them. How can you be expected to keep them straight? Especially when you are the co-host of a television show. Like Good Morning America. And you are sitting across from the world-famous stars of Birds of Prey, the new DC movie. And you call it a Marvel film.

Yikes.

That face. Margot Robbie looks like she wants to do the following, in this order. Rip Michael Strahan’s head off. Crawl away in embarrassment for the man. Take a stiff drink of whiskey and pray that this bad memory can be erased. But that’s what happens when you wake up at the crack of dawn to do press – after doing press for WEEKS – and a television personality on a major network show like Good Morning America, who absolutely should know better, mistakes your movie for the rival studio.

And you will day, “They’re not rival studios.” But yeah, they are. They totally are. Now, flip the script. Imagine that Chris Evans, Scarlett Johansson, Mark Ruffalo and Paul Rudd are all appearing on The TODAY Show to promote Avengers: Endgame. And the host says, “Where will DC go from here?”

Kind of stupid, isn’t it?

Then again, now that clip is going viral, maybe it’s good publicity. Birds of Prey opens this Friday, and any footage that helps raise awareness for the movie has to be viewed as a win for Warner Bros.

Let’s give Michael Strahan the benefit of the doubt, for a moment. He’s a sports guy. Football, even. He just came off of The Super Bowl, where the Chiefs defeated the 49ers. I watched the dude do hours of pre-game. He’s mentally exhausted. And truthfully, Marvel is killing it. So I can see why he’d default, in his brain, to Marvel when talking about a superhero property.

However, DC and Warner Bros. are coming on. Todd Phillips’ Joker is contending for Oscars on Sunday, and leads all films with 11 nominations. Birds of Prey is doing well with critics, and the studio has the anticipated Wonder Woman ’84 arriving in theaters later this year.

In April 2016 Live with Kelly and Michael's Michael Strahan, who had been hosting the show for about four years at that point, surprised the audience with the announcement that he would be leaving that particular morning show gig behind for a full time position on Good Morning America. There had already been rumors of a rift between him and co-host Kelly Ripa, and his (seemingly sudden) departure turned that talk up to 11, because Ripa wasn't told about the fact that Strahan would be leaving before it was announced on the show.

Basically, the whole business ended up being kind of messy for a while, with Kelly Ripa being so annoyed with not being told that she took a sudden break from the show, and Michael Strahan eventually leaving four months earlier than originally planned. Whatever was going on behind the scenes at Live with Kelly and Michael, though, Strahan does agree that the way the situation was handled wasn't kosher. He was asked recently if his departure was "sloppily handled," and here's how he responded:

According to what Michael Strahan told The New York Times Magazine, leaving Live with Kelly and Michael behind wasn't even his idea, but a request from the people who were running ABC at the time. Strahan had been working on Good Morning America on a part time basis for two years at that point, and there was some thought that major shakeups were going on that might have led to the whole Live with Kelly and... format being tossed out. Luckily for fans, that didn't happen. Ripa is happily hosting daily with Ryan Seacrest now, while Strahan is plying his trade on Strahan, Sara and Keke.

For all of his knowledge that his transition to GMA was bungled, Michael Strahan doesn't pretend that all of his time spent working with Kelly Ripa was the best, but he does have good things to say about how Ripa, and others, helped guide him in the morning show game. When he was asked about authenticity on morning television, with regards to the fact that the tension between himself and Ripa never showed up on screen, here's what he said:

Michael Strahan went on to say that they taught him how to craft a story out of whatever he had done the night before, even if it was just as simple as getting a glass of water, so that he could help entertain the audience. Even though it sounds like they haven't spoken in a long time, Strahan also noted that Ripa is "brilliant in that way" and says he has total respect for how good she is at her job.

April will mark three years since Michael Strahan announced he was leaving the morning talk show Live with Kelly and Michael. Speaking out now, Strahan has revealed that he and Kelly Ripa are still not on good terms. While sharing what he learned from the experience surrounding his exit, Strahan said:

Michael Strahan revealed the status of his and Kelly Ripa’s relationship to Time. One slight silver lining is that Strahan says that he and Ripa have not spoken in a “long time.” So, there is no definitive time frame. Hence, it may not be too long. Just... not very recently.

The apparent issues between the pair stem from Michael Stahan’s 2016 exit from Live. That year, he received an offer from GMA to join the morning show in a full-time capacity, which he accepted. After the announcement, Kelly Ripa was absent from from Live for longer than initially expected, before eventually returning.

The ensuing drama made for lots of headlines. Later on, Kelly Ripa weighed in on why people were drawn to the morning show drama between her and Michael Stahan. At the time, she expressed the sentiment that people could identify with being “left out of major decisions” and “conversations.”

Whatever the origins of people’s fascination with the morning show shake-up, both Michael Strahan and Kelly Ripa have moved on. Strahan is going strong on GMA with ABC making him the co-host of the show’s third hour, alongside Sara Haines.

Michael Strahan co-hosted Live for almost 4 years, joining the show in September 2012 to replace Live’s original outgoing host Regis Philbin. After announcing his departure in April 2016, Strahan ended up leaving Live sooner than initially thought.

Following Michael Strahan’s exit, Live went on a vast search for his replacement. The show ultimately filled the co-host chair with Ryan Seacrest, leading to Live becoming Live with Kelly and Ryan.

For Live fans who enjoyed Michael Strahan and Kelly Ripa’s time as Live co-hosts, it is undoubtedly a sad update. The co-hosts seemed to have a great relationship before the drama unfolded. It is tough to imagine a duo being able to co-host a high-energy morning show without one.

They say that “time heals all wounds.” Perhaps it will be reaching the 3-year anniversary that could be the turning point for Michael Strahan and Kelly Ripa to open the lines of communication again. To have so many years of friendship culminate in them not having talked in a "long time" is sad.

Two years after Michael Strahan caused drama with Kelly Ripa by leaving Live! and joining Good Morning America, the latter morning program is giving the former athlete a chance to shine even brighter than he already was. Reports say Strahan will team up with The View's Sarah Haines, and the two will headline the third hour of Good Morning America. The duo will supposedly take on their new shifts in ABC's early afternoon slot, with the big debut happening on Monday, September 10.

ABC has declined to comment on the new details for Good Morning America's third hour, which entered conversations a month ago when the network cancelled the food-based talk show The Chew. But GMA isn't the only one getting a shake-up here, as Variety reported Sara Haines will be exiting her spot on The View, despite reports that her and Strahan's segment will not be recorded live each morning. Their hour is reportedly planned to air at 1:00 p.m. ET on weekdays, but may utilize the audience making it in during the 8:00 a.m. hour by taping the last hour first.

Good Morning America's renewed push for another programming hour is rooted in several issues, such as ABC wanting to gain more ground on rival NBC program Today. GMA typically has a larger viewership than Today, although the competitor has been successful at pulling a larger chunk of the advertiser-coveted 25-54 age demographic. GMA is also looking to expand its digital presence, and to allow its producers to tell more stories that are currently needing to be left out of the current two-hour telecast.

This is not the first time Good Morning America has aired at a later hour, and nor is it the first time the show featured three hours of programming air in a single day. Josh Elliott and Lara Spencer co-anchored a project called Good Afternoon America for a few months in 2012, in what was said to be a test to see if the show could have a possible expansion. Fans will have to wait and see if Michael Strahan and Sara Haines are any more successful, provided these unconfirmed-by-ABC reports turn out to be accurate.

ABC has at least confirmed Good Morning America is getting a third hour, although until they announce more, all we're sure of at the moment is the show airs weekdays at 7:00 a.m. ET. Tom Brady and Michael Strahan have been all over headlines in 2016, Brady for the DeflateGate scandal and Strahan for all that Live with Kelly and Michael drama. But now they're making waves in a much different way, as the respective current and former NFL stars are teaming up for a new TV show that will take a closer look at the impact religion and spiritualism have on the sports world. Non-enigmatically titled Religion of Sports, the docu-series is set to premiere later this year on AT&T and DirecTV's Audience Network.

In its initial season, Religion Of Sports will spend each of its six hour-long episodes shining a spotlight on places and situations where sports and athletes have affected cultures and aspects of society that aren't just about Super Bowl victories or fights in the hockey rink. Some of the specific subjects that the show will definitely tackle (pun intended) are the rise in popularity of UFC and MMA fighting, the Calgary Stampede and NASCAR.

It's somewhat strange that nothing football-related got mentioned as far as what Religion in Sports will be covering, but you can bet we'll see the gridiron pop up a time or two. Players have been celebrating touchdowns with genuflections and bowed heads for longer than I've been alive, and athletes like Tim Tebow have used their time in the spotlight to draw more attention to their faith.

Football did get brought up in Tom Brady's impassioned statement, according to THR, and he sounds pretty admirable no matter how one feels about the future Hall of Famer.

Tom Brady and Michael Strahan worked with filmmaker and guru's son Gotham Chopra in bringing Religion in Sports to life, and all three will be executive producing. Outside of football, Brady has had a handful of small screen appearances on shows like Family Guy and Entourage, and he also appeared in the big screen version of the HBO series, as well as Ted 2. Strahan, meanwhile, is currently pulling double duties on Good Morning America and as the host of The $100,000 Pyramid, and he'll show up for Fox's NFL coverage once the season starts.

With AT&T and DirecTV as its overlords, Audience Network definitely has the funding and the know-how to build a decent library of original programming, and the last handful of years have seen that initiative slowly come together. Series like Rogue and Kingdom have build up dedicated (if small) fanbases, and the network has a potentially fantastic pair of upcoming projects in the David E. Kelley-produced adaptation of Stephen King's Mr. Mercedes and Antoin Fuqua's star-studded diamond drama Ice. It's good to see Audience knows to keep its unscripted slate moving forward as well.

There’s something unhealthy but fascinating about certain celebrity feuds, and we can usually count on other famous faces to chime in to take sides in the conflict. Instead of taking side, Maury host Maury Povich preferred to slam both Kelly Ripa and Michael Strahan for the drama currently surrounding the set of Live! With Kelly And Michael. He definitely didn't mince words. Here's what he had to say:

With Kelly And Michael that he'd make this remark. Of course, given that his entire show is practically one big diva cage, Povich is definitely qualified to judge what does and does not constitute “diva” behavior.

With Kelly And Michael, here’s what happened: Michael Strahan announced that he would be leaving Live! after four years to take a permanent gig on Good Morning America. Normally, such news would be cause for a co-host to magnanimously congratulate his or her on-air partner for taking advantage of a new opportunity. Unfortunately, nobody thought to give Kelly Ripa much of a heads up that she’d be losing the Michael half of Live! With Kelly And Michael. In response, Ripa took off for an unscheduled absence from Live!, leaving Strahan temporarily without the Kelly half of their act.

Michael Strahan has had good things to say about Kelly Ripa and even went so far as to hint that his decision to leave was based on his treatment by a producer. Still, it seems that the lack of forewarning and subsequent rumors that Live! would be cancelled to give way for more Good Morning America took their toll on Ripa’s tolerance. She returned to Live! to big ratings, but she also dropped a blatant barb on-air against Strahan about his divorces.

On the whole, the escalation of drama at Live! With Kelly And Michael has been public enough that fellow talk show host Maury Povich would have reason to weigh in on how these others in the biz have conducted themselves. With Maury, the diva behavior, although expected, comes from the guests. Povich could have understandably expected more of Kelly Ripa and Michael Strahan.

All of the cue cards and prompts in the world just can’t always prevent moments of on-screen awkwardness. Who says awkward can’t be funny? Kelly Ripa’s pointed comment about Michael Strahan’s divorces might have turned their “bird nesting” banter into a very uncomfortable couple of minutes, but Strahan’s reaction was entertaining enough that it was easier to laugh at the awkwardness than cringe in secondhand embarrassment. Strahan rallied very quickly from Ripa’s jab, and the entire clip is worth playing a second time just to catch all of his expressions as he chose not to rise to Ripa’s bait. Strahan looked more amused than offended, and he saved the moment from being hard to watch.

Kelly Ripa might have just seemed insensitive or oblivious if she had made this comment a couple of weeks ago, but the recent drama behind the scenes at Live! with Kelly and Michael makes it difficult to believe that she wasn’t deliberately trying to poke at one of her co-host’s sore spots. Considering that she seems to be made entirely of sore spots nowadays, a few minutes of active unprofessionalism are definitely feasible.

She wasn’t exactly wearing the best poker face during their chat about how divorced parents might deal with sharing their children. Averting her eyes and repeatedly commenting that she couldn’t relate because she hasn’t been divorced certainly could have been more subtle. Come on, Kelly. Put some effort into it. No wonder Strahan seemed more inclined to laugh than to fire back.

The morning talk show circuit is usually known for celebrity interviews and fun banter, but there’s been a different kind of buzz over at ABC recently. The network made an unexpected announcement that Michael Strahan would be leaving Live! with Kelly and Michael for a full-time gig on Good Morning America, which evidently took co-host Kelly Ripa by surprise. Strahan was set to begin his work on GMA in September, but ABC has now announced that he’ll be ending his run on Live! much earlier. Michael Strahan’s final show as co-host of Live! with Kelly and Michael will be on May 13.

Who needs daytime soaps when there’s daytime talk show drama? Leaving Live! early will not mean Michael Strahan will immediately jump over to Good Morning America. He’ll take the summer off and then join GMA as a full-timer at a point closer to the original departure date in September, according to People. The May 13 date will allow Live! to put together a sendoff for Strahan as well as kickstart the search for a new co-host for Kelly Ripa.

Of course, without Kelly Ripa’s behavior following the news of Strahan’s exit, the morning show circuit would have had less of an air of scandal lately. Reportedly, she was not given much forewarning that she would be losing her co-host to another morning show, and her reaction has elevated the change in host to the soap operatic ordeal.

In Kelly Ripa’s defense, not getting much of a heads-up regarding Michael Strahan's departure is definitely a valid reason to be upset, and rumor had it that ABC might be expanding GMA into a third hour with Strahan on board--which could have meant moving or even cancelling Live! altogether. She reacted by choosing not to show up to work on the day that Strahan announced that he would be exiting, then extended her leave by an extra couple of days. Given that other reports indicated that Strahan may have chosen to move to GMA because of his treatment by the executive producer rather than his dynamic with Ripa, it’s a shame that the news wasn’t handled more delicately.

A source has intimated that the two hosts are unlikely to collaborate on future projects, so fans of the duo will want to make the most of the last couple of weeks that Kelly Ripa and Michael Strahan appear together. Ripa has returned to Live! and apparently cooled off enough to make some gracious comments about why she needed time away from the show. She’s even said that she’s thrilled for Strahan for his new gig at GMA.

There’s no saying if Michael Strahan leaving the show months earlier than expected will reduce the amount of melodrama surrounding his departure, but it should be interesting to see how Strahan and Kelly Ripa handle their final stint together on Live! with Kelly and Michael. It was hard to gauge exactly how Ripa was feeling, mostly because after the news broke she declined to appear on her series last week, instead taking a few days of vacation with her family. This morning, the early morning host returned to her show and braved the stage with Michael Strahan—which meant she had to address what happened. If you missed Live with Michael and Kelly this morning, here’s what Kelly Ripa had to say. 

Ripa's words echo an email she actually sent out to staff earlier this week, which describes how she felt when ABC told her about Michael Strahan's exit, allegedly just before the press knew. But it's good on her not to bow out at this juncture. It's worth pointing out that Kelly Ripa has been on Live! for much longer than Michael Strahan, originally appearing on the series opposite Regis Philbin back in 2001. After Philbin retired, Kelly Ripa kept on going, so it’s no wonder the ABC series has a major hold on her heart. It took some time to find another person to man the chair opposite hers, and in 2012 Michael Strahan ended up nabbing the role and has boosted the ratings in the time since. 

Kelly Ripa also had to address the major elephant in the room, acknowledging the fact that Michael Strahan will in fact be leaving Live! With Michael and Kelly in September to take on a role in Good Morning America full time. She says exactly what we’d expect her to say, given the circumstances:

Of course, it’s great that Kelly Ripa has collected her thoughts and has decided to come back to the ABC gig, making the transition for Strahan as smooth as possible given last week’s circumstances. Still, we have no real idea how Live! is going to shake out come September. Rumors have indicated that ABC might add an extra hour to Good Morning America, which could replace Ripa’s show or could force her to move in the schedule. In addition, if Live! is still a thing come fall, you would think the series would be looking for a Michael Strahan replacement at some point. We’ll let you know how things shake out as soon as decisions are made.

It’s been a busy week for Kelly Ripa and Michael Strahan, and maybe not the good kind of busy. After it was announced earlier this week that Strahan would be leaving Live with Kelly and Michael to join Good Morning America, Rippa, who was not told this news beforehand, did not show up to tape the show for the rest of the week. It was unclear exactly when she would return, if at all, but it seems like Ripa will come back sooner than people may have expected.

Kelly Ripa sent out an email late Friday night regarding her return, per THR. The email read that she would be returning to the show on Tuesday and she was thankful for all the support she received. While Ripa did not appear to work on Wednesday or Thursday, she had a previously scheduled vacation and took time off for Friday and Monday, so she should be returning on schedule.

While we now know when she will return, the big question is what will she do when she’s there. She didn’t know that Michael Strahan was planning to leave the show and apparently felt blindsided and betrayed by the whole thing. Supposedly some close to the show are worried that she will unload her aggressions when she arrives on set.

The other big issue is how Kelly Ripa and Michael Strahan will do the show together now that there is so much tension. Chemistry is a hard thing to force. How will they react to each other onscreen? Strahan is scheduled to be there for another four months and won't be going to Good Morning America until September. That’s a long time to deal with the tension, and it probably won’t pass over anytime soon. It will be a major test to see if the two can even still work together.

While this is all probably very stressful for those close to the show, that Tuesday morning episode will probably have great ratings. Everyone who has been following the story will want to know what happens, and what Kelly Ripa will say about the entire situation. Then again, if the chemistry is awkward it could turn off a lot people who watch the show.

Upon learning the news that her co-host would be departing from their morning show for greener pastures at Good Morning America, Kelly Ripa opted not to show up to work on Wednesday. Citing feelings of betrayal, Ripa has pretty much gone dark; it’s looking like she won’t return to the show until this coming Tuesday at the very earliest, but even that seems up in the air. At this point, it remains unclear when exactly she intends to return to the show, and the longer she waits to come back, the worse the situation gets for the network as a whole.

It’s something of an unprecedented situation for the folks at ABC, at least on this show, and her continued silence could eventually spell disaster for the long-lasting chat show. The folks over at Live! With Kelly and Michael have begun scrambling to try and fill her place in order to keep the ship afloat. opting to bring in guests hosts to fill Ripa’s place for the time being while Michael Strahan continues his hosting duties as usual. The sources who spoke to People seem to have indicated that Strahan himself has reached out to Ripa in order to try and bring about an expedited resolution to this professional conflict, but Ripa remains steadfast in her refusal to speak about the situation too soon.

Of course, it seems like the feelings of betrayal extend beyond just Kelly Ripa and Michael Strahan. Recent news seems to also indicate that ABC may potentially be interested in dropping Live! With Kelly and Michael in order to simply add another hour of Good Morning America to its schedule. With that news in mind – as well as the fact that ABC seems to be making concessions for Strahan, and not Ripa - it becomes somewhat easier to sympathize with Kelly Ripa’s side of the argument.

For now, we will just have to wait and see what happens. Kelly Ripa and Michael Strahan have been partners on their mornings show for the last four years, and that’s not something easily walked away from. One thing is certain: things don't look good for Live! With Kelly and Michael.

It’s been a long couple of days for Live! With Kelly and Michael. After Michael Strahan announced his big move to Good Morning America, news broke indicating Kelly Ripa hadn’t been told. She’s taking a few days off from the show in what is being touted as a "prescheduled vacation," leaving Strahan to field all of the questions related to his big move. As it turns out, the real reason he is leaving Live! may not have anything to do with Kelly Ripa. In fact, reports indicate that he may have bigger problems with one of the executive producers on the early morning show.

Reports indicate that Michael Strahan might have chosen to quit Live with Kelly and Michael because of problems with executive producer Michael Gelman. Access Hollywood nabbed the news from a source near to the show, who had the following to say:

As this information doesn’t come directly from the horse’s mouth, it should be taken with a grain of salt, but it would go a long way to explain why Kelly Ripa was so blindsided and upset by the news. Michael Strahan’s addition has helped the ratings to bump up and the two were a really good onscreen team, so she really may not have seen his move to another series coming.

Of course, it should be noted that Strahan has been popping up on Good Morning America for a few years. ABC’s other early morning show could really use a well-liked talent like Michael Strahan, and it’s no real surprise that the show might attempt to nab the guy for a bigger role—especially if he is having problems with producers on his current show. Good Morning America should be a great fit for the former NFL player; unfortunately, it’s just coming at the expense of Kelly Ripa’s feelings.

This explanation also goes a long way to explain why Michael Strahan had such sincere things to say about Kelly Ripa this morning. Early rumors indicated the two may not have been getting along on the set, but if that were true, I can’t imagine why Strahan would have gone out of his way to be this kind and eloquent during an ABC taping this morning:

Sure, you need to be pleasant to the person who helped make you a talk show name, but you only have to be this nice if you want to be. The deck may not have shaken out in a way that Ripa expected, but both she and Michael Strahan are likable personalities. She’ll land on her feet. Just with a different partner.

Well, folks, it looks like the shit has really hit the fan now. On Tuesday morning it was announced that Michael Strahan would be leaving his four-year gig co-hosting Live! with Kelly and Michael, alongside Kelly Ripa, for the greener pastures of Good Morning America. It appears that Ripa is not happy about, apparently, being blindsided with his decision. She’ll be absent from the show for the next three days.

A report from TVLine tells us that Kelly Ripa, who pulled a surprise no-show on the Live! with Kelly and Michael set this morning, will be gone through Monday, per an announcement from ABC. A network spokesperson said that Ripa already had scheduled vacation time for this Friday and Monday, but did not note why she would be gone from the show tomorrow. Today, Michael Strahan hosted opposite Saturday Night Live alum Ana Gasteyer, while Thursday and Friday’s shows will be guest co-hosted by Erin Andrews, and Monday’s show will give guest co-hosting duties to Pretty Little Liars actress Shay Mitchell.

As we all know, suddenly not showing up to work is not a good look. And when your job involves appearing on live TV and talking to celebrities, it’s really not a great idea to pull a no-show, and we have no idea right now what reason Kelly Ripa gave for not going in to work. Ripa began her talk show days in 2001, when she took over after Kathie Lee Gifford departed the show she co-hosted with Regis Philbin. Ripa then worked alongside Philbin until he left the show. Aside from the fact that Ripa, reportedly, had no prior knowledge of Michael Strahan’s decision to leave, I can see her being annoyed at having found someone she has an on-air rapport with, after a lengthy search for Philbin’s replacement, and then having to go through that process all over again so soon. 

On top of all that, as we reported earlier, it looks like there might be some major shakeups going on over at ABC when it comes to their morning programming. It’s possible that they’ve moved Michael Strahan to GMA because they plan to pull out of the Live! with Kelly and Whoever business and simply add a third hour of Good Morning America to the docket. Finding out that you might be out of a job is certainly something that would make most people pause before heading into the office. 

We might not have much in the way of daytime soap operas on the air anymore, but Michael Strahan’s exit from Live! with Kelly and Michael is certainly turning into some prime daytime drama. Big changes are on the way for the morning television scene. Michael Strahan is officially set to leave his co-hosting gig on Live with Kelly and Michael after four years of banter with Kelly Ripa. Luckily for fans of his, Strahan is sticking around on the ABC morning roster for the next step of his career, and he’ll be joining the team at Good Morning, America full time.

Michael Strahan has been a part-time contributor to Good Morning, America for two years, appearing twice weekly in addition to his work on Live with Kelly and Michael. He’s been able to handle both with no problem, but the time has evidently come for him to move on from his partnership with Kelly Ripa. He’ll start his regular gig on Good Morning America in September of 2016, according to Deadline.

Strahan first hit the morning talk show circuit after Regis Philbin left his Live co-hosting job with Kelly Ripa, who had herself replaced original host Kathie Lee Gifford. Plenty of celebrities were in the running to take Philbin’s seat, and former NFL star Strahan came out on top after fifteen appearances opposite Ripa. He was a slightly unexpected pick, but he brought a fun new dynamic to the show that needed some revitalization after many years of Regis followed by the long search for his replacement.

Good Morning America needed its own jolt of vitality when behind-the-scenes drama began to affect the program, and Strahan was brought in to work his magic in an effort to charm viewers back to the show. Live with Kelly and Michael was still his top priority, but he’d already proven capable of juggling more than one show thanks to his continued appearances on NFL Sunday even after joining Live.

Recently, Good Morning America has struggled in ratings against its NBC rival The Today Show. GMA is still ranked as the top morning program on network television, but Today is catching up. Michael Strahan coming on board may be just what GMA needs to get a big boost in viewers.

All in all, Strahan leaving Live with Kelly and Michael could be an exciting change to mix things up in morning TV. Most of us can even be spared any separation anxiety by knowing that he won’t be leaving ABC altogether. The only real bummer about the news is that Kelly Ripa will have to go through yet another epic hunt for a co-host. Hopefully she can find a new partner in banter who works as well with her as Michael Strahan, and this advanced notice should help that transition out.

Game shows are a genre of television which aren’t necessarily the most popular at the moment. While the golden age of game shows would have celebrities playing alongside us commoners and appearing more human, it seems that game shows as a whole are only present during daytime TV and on the Game Show Network. Well, ABC is about to change all of that by bringing back one of the most classic game shows of all time.

ABC is reviving $100,00 Pyramid as a weekly primetime ABC program for this summer. Right now, ABC is planning to produce a 10 episode first season for this reboot, and will be bringing in a fairly major star to host. 

Vulture is reporting that the upcoming host is none other than former professional athlete and television host Michael Strahan. That’s right, Strahan is going to be in yet another TV show. Since retiring from the NFL, Strahan has gone on to appear as a co-host in Kelly and Michael, as well as Fox NFL Sundays, and Good Morning America. Who needs sleep anyway?

Pyramid originally aired in 1973, hosted by Dick Clark. Originally, it was titled the $10,000 Pyramid, which makes sense for the fiscal climate of the 1970’s. As Pyramid continued to be produced, the grand prize was increased to reflect the times. So, for 2016 the game show will be appropriately titled $100,000 Pyramid. 

The format of $100,000 Pyramid is as follows: contestants are in teams of two. The goal of the game is to help your partner guess an answer, by listing items that would be included in said answer, or synonymous. For instance, if the answer is “Things That Bounce”, clues would be “Po-Go Sticks”, “Kangaroos”, “Basketballs”, etc. To add to the challenge, the contestant who is giving the clues has their hands strapped to their chair, so they’re unable to gesture in order to help the guessing process. As of now, it’s not clear if celebrity contestants will be apart of of the game plan. Typically, the contestants are one celebrity and one non-celeb. It can be assumed that ABC stars will be making appearances throughout the ten episodes. Perhaps Shondaland actors from the three dramas which dominate Thursday nights will become contestants.

Last night’s Lip Sync Battle featured a standoff between two popular early morning hosts: Michael Strahan and Hoda Kotb. During the first round, they both brought enthusiasm to the table, with Hoda performing Sir Mix-A-Lot’s “Baby Got Back,” and Strahan hilariously taking on “London Bridge” by Fergie.

While all of the early publicity has been on Hoda’s goofy but enthusiastic performance of longtime favorite “Baby Got Back,” Strahan really brings it in the first round of the competition. It’s a strange sensation to see Fergie’s strong but feminine voice coming out of the mouth of the super tall former NFL defensive end. Especially when he starts crawling on the floor and bringing a sexual element to the performance, evening engaging with an audience member who also gets in on the lip syncing.

If you’ve caught Strahan on Live with Michael and Kelly in the mornings, you should already know that he’s not above shenanigans such as lip syncing, and is a perfect fit for Spike’s competition show. He’s been known to do karaoke on his own morning show before—once even in a onesie---and he’s involved in a prank war with Hayden Panettiere. He likes to have fun, and Lip Sync Battle is the perfect forum for someone with Strahan’s personality.

Unfortunately for Strahan, following a super funky second round, Hoda Kotb was the one who ended up nabbing the Lip Sync Battle win this week. She joins a list of Lip Sync Battle winners that includes Anne Hathaway, who notably performed “Wrecking Ball” on the show, as well as Terry Crews and Anna Kendrick.

Lip Sync Battle has been a big hit for Spike. The network initially shot 10 episodes of the series, and then filmed an additional eight episodes in March to keep the fun going. Recently, the network also renewed the show for another season, so there’s a lot more fun coming our way this summer and beyond. You can catch new episodes of Spike’s Lip Sync Battle on Thursday nights at 10 p.m. ET.

The ratings may not have started to reflect it, but behind the scenes, the wheels are reportedly coming off a bit over at Good Morning America. Sam Champion bailed. Josh Elliott bailed, and rumor has it damn near everyone else hates each other. In short, it’s a mess of divergent personalities; so, to try and right the ship, ABC has decided to bring in someone with the reputation of being a great teammate: Michael Strahan.

The longtime New York Giant and current co-host of Live! With Kelly And Michael confirmed the news on his hit program this morning, telling the enthusiastic crowd that he’s officially part of the team. Don’t get too excited, though, GMA fans. Strahan won’t be as regular of a presence as you may have hoped. Here’s an exact quote…

ABC hasn’t announced the specifics of his new role yet, and there’s a little disagreement right now as to what he might do. E! Online calls the position “semi-regular” and puts it during the show’s first hour. TMZ claims it’ll be 3-to-4 times a week and involves the 8 A.M. hour. Regardless, the show needs a little more of a masculine presence in the wake of Josh Elliott's departure, and this will help. Besides, everyone involved agrees Strahan will not leave Live!, nor will his new role have any affect on the show; so, it's basically a huge win all around for everyone.

Strahan was always known as a media-friendly player during his 15-year run with the Giants, but I’m not sure anyone, including himself, pictured the career he would have after his retirement. Between FOX NFL Sunday, Live! and now this GMA work, he’s going to be on television more than ten hours a week. Pretty impressive for a sack master who probably thought he’d spend his retirement watching television and going on weird vacations.

Well, so much for waiting until the season premiere of Live! With Kelly on September 4th to reveal her new co-host. Word is out that one of Kelly’s many guest hosts who have sat in Regis’ chair since he left the show in November will be taking up permanent residence there after Labor Day.

Former NFL star turned TV personality Michael Strahan is the new co-host of Live! according to a Deadline report. He’s quite comfortable in the co-hosting chair as he has already taken a seat there 15 times during the past months. It had been previously reported that the show would be revealing the new co-host on the season premiere, but it seems the word is out early. As of September 4th, it seems we will be watching Live! With Kelly & Michael.

Strahan won’t be giving up his other gig, working weekends serving as the Fox NFL Sunday host. That makes him bi-coastal in his employment, since he will have to spend the week in New York for Live and then the weekends in Los Angeles for the NFL hosting job. It’s certainly one quick way to rack up those frequent flyer miles. Not that flying for free is much of an issue for someone pulling in salaries on two big television hosting jobs.

There have been a string of co-hosts come through the Live set since Philbin said goodbye, and plenty of speculation as to who would be the one to take the spot for good. The selection of Strahan is a bit of a surprise, but he does seem to have the whole hosting thing down, and he’s an interesting contrast to Kelly Ripa.
