Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis have long been celebrities, meaning people judge your every move and every habit as shared. This includes personal hygiene as, in 2021, the couple found themselves at the center of a cleanliness rumor. At that point, Kunis revealed that she and her husband didn't bathe their kids with soap and water as frequently as most people. That led to speculation that they didn't shower, either. Now, Kutcher is finally addressing those rumors.

The That ‘70s Show alums have both shared their own takes on showering in the past, with Kunis saying she grew up not showering much, while Kutcher admitted he only cleaned his “armpits and [his] crotch daily and nothing else ever.” Many people subsequently assumed the duo meant they didn't shower at all or very, very little. During a recent interview with People, though, Kutcher confirmed he his bathing habits while reflecting on the chaos that their original comments sparked:

It’s not surprising that his and Kunis’ comments were taken out of context. However, it does sound like they do, in fact, shower and keep clean. Considering all the events they go to and jobs they have, it's especially easy to imagine they'd want to stay as fresh as possible. Plus, with Kutcher going to the gym, showering is necessary. While Kutcher has finally put the rumors to bed, anyone who still has doubts, should listen to Kutcher’s The Beauty co-star, Anthony Ramos, who added:

It's honestly wild to see what kind of rumors tend to swirl around celebrities in regard to their personal lives. Despite the brouhaha, though, the showering rumor doesn’t seem to have gotten to Kutcher or Kunis. To that point, Kunis previously (and jokingly) congratulated The Rock on showering while reflecting on her original shower comments. If anything, this is something the couple can laugh at now that a considerable amount of time has passed.

Meanwhile, Ashton Kutcher’s showering habits are not the only personal details that have gone viral over the last few years. For instance, in 2023, the Ranch star admitted to putting orange juice in his coffee rather than creamer, and it’s yet another detail that is absolutely mind-boggling to me. Since that was a few years ago, it’s possible things have changed on that front, but I still find the notion of orange juice-infused coffee to be nuts.

It can't be said for sure whether Kutcher and Kunis have even more weird habits or rules while working that they have yet to reveal. Should they divulge any further habits, though, I'd expect them to be careful with their wording as not to be misunderstood. We'll have to see if they come clean (sorry, had to do it) about any other aspects of their lives.

There’s no denying Mila Kunis is a certified movie star. Her career took off in the late ‘90s and thrived into the 2000s and 2010s, appearing in That ‘70s Show, Forgetting Sarah Marshall, Black Swan and many more. But you may noticed she’s only made a few movies over the past five years. The last time we saw Kunis was for one film in 2024, the Michael Keaton-led comedy Goodrich. Her absence on camera is not because she’s out of work, but rather due to a set of rules she and her husband, That ‘70s Show co-star Ashton Kutcher, put in place as parents working in Hollywood.

Raising kids is not an easy job, especially when you’re an actor with crazy hours and month long sets hours away from home. Hollywood power couple Mila Kunis and Ashton Kutcher have one rule they live by for the sake of their kids, and the Ted actress told Extra TV it’s the reason why she has been missing from our screens:

The movie-star duo might have had some parenting fails over the years, but I think this is something they got right. Stars like Reese Witherspoon have shared the struggles of raising kids as a working actor. In fact, raising children away from the craziness of Hollywood has been a key factor in a lot of celebrities deciding to leave L.A. So if the Punk’d star and the Bad Moms actress are in the group deciding to stay, I can see why they might put some boundaries in place to provide stability.

Mila Kunis also confirmed that she tries to only sign onto one movie a year to be more present at home with her 11-year-old daughter Wyatt and 8-year-old son Dimitri. This is what made me realize that the That ‘90s Show parents must be pretty successful to be able to live off one movie a year (for the most part). Of course, our humble self-aware queen acknowledged that not every actor is afforded that “luxury,” and she doesn’t “take that for granted.”

I have to imagine this deal she and Ashton Kutcher have struck up is not only healthy for their family unit, but also their marriage to each other. Too often do you see celebrity marriages in Hollywood end in divorce, but Kunis and Kutcher are still going strong. Who knew ex-co-star friends-with-benefits could result in 10 years (and counting) happily married?!

Honestly, they’ve always handled the celebrity life maturely, and this working arrangement once again highlights their excellent communication and respect for one another. I’ll never forget how they handled those separation rumors back in 2019 by posting a hilarious video reacting to the tabloid gossip together:

Thankfully, we don’t have to wait much longer to see Kunis return to the big screen. The Jupiter Ascending actress picked one of the most highly anticipated films on the 2025 movie schedule for her one movie this calendar year: Wake Up Dead Man. The latest Rian Johnson Knives Out Mystery has already screened to rave reviews, and will be available to stream December 12 with a Netflix subscription.

It’s only been around a year since the très-scandalous Mormon TikTok influencer group MomTok made The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives a sensation for fans with Hulu subscriptions, and the second season was already released during the first half of summer on the 2025 TV schedule. Needless to say, the mothers have amassed quite the following, including Mila Kunis. She’s so much of one apparently, husband Ashton Kutcher surprised her with a phone call from the cast.

While attending a Tiff premiere for her new movie, Knives Out 3: Wake Up Dead Man, she shared the stan-like behavior with ET. After the interviewer asked her about the Salt Lake City based show, the 42-lit up and claimed she could tell them anything about it. Then, quickly jumped into revealing how and when the telephone conversation went down with Kutcher. Kunis explained he was working on the east coast and called early with a tease, saying:

There’s one main thing that pops into my mind as she begins the retelling. As someone who grew up during the MTV Punk’d era, I don’t know if I could ever trust the 47-year-old. Clearly, she’s either an incredible sport of antics or he’s no longer reveling in that type of pranking. Either way, I’m glad that she stayed after his promise.

Quickly after the statement, Kunis said that he turned the camera around to reveal that he’d run into the girls from the newer reality show. Along with it, she shared that she was elated, and jumped right into a memorable chat, as she said:

It’s one hell of a surprise and maybe showcases a more positive angle on his current pranks. Regardless, as a fellow fan of the women of MomTok, I’m sure it was an A+ experience and conversation. You can check out the full clip of the anecdote below:

Her whole moment was kind of crazy, right? Barely coherent to greeting some of the world’s current most famous Mormon faces. And their popularity is just rising, Taylor Frankie Paul is the newest and buzziest Bachelorette along with Jen Affleck and Whitney Leavitt having joined ranks with announced DWTS contestant Alix Earle. I hope that this story’s quick twists and turns reflect 2025 Netflix streaming release Kunis is in and Season 3 of SLOMW. Fingers crossed!

For now, I’ll be content replaying Kutcher’s surprise video call of The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives talking with his wife. Along with it, I’m happy to know another celebrity can be added into the reality TV fandom.

Voice acting is its own special skill that not all actors can pull off. Sometimes great live-action stars make the crossover, and some of them are listed here. Other times, actors who are primarily voice actors appear in live action roles, and you might not know what they look like, even when you know their voice (or, more often, voices). Those actors are also represented on this list of popular voice actors who you probably have seen before, even if you didn't know it.

Yeardley Smith

Yeardley Smith is, of course, best known as the voice of Lisa Simpson, who, for me, is the most underrated character in The Simpsons. Like many of her castmates on the legendary cartoon, she started from the beginning of The Tracey Ullman Show. You may also know her as the pregnant cashier who crashes the party at the beginning of City Slickers, among other roles in live-action movies and TV shows.

Christine Cavanaugh

The late Christine Cavanaugh was the original voice for Chuckie in Rugrats and Dexter in Dexter's Laboratory. Though she retired very young due to health reasons, you might also know her as injured football player Steve Remo's wife Jerry Maguire.

John DiMaggio

One of the most prolific voice actors on this list, John DiMaggio, is well known for his work as Bender in Futurama, and a whole ton of movies like Zootopia, Wreck-It Ralph, Despicable Me 4, and many more. You may also have seen him as Fenwick in the AMC show Interview With A Vampire, or Dan on Mythic Quest, which you can watch with an AppleTV+ subscription.

Diedrich Bader

Diedrich Bader has made quite a career for himself as a voice-over actor, with dozens of credits. His best-known work is probably in the DC Universe, where he has been Batman/Bruce Wayne in many animated shows across the universe. He's also done work as Lex Luther, The Green Lantern, and other DC characters. On the live-action side, he's probably most famous for his role on The Drew Carey Show, but he also has memorable roles in the movies Office Space, as Peter's neighbor, and The Beverly Hillbilllies, as Jethro, among others.

Nancy Cartwright

Certainly, Nancy Cartwright is most famous as the voice of Bart Simpson, but that's hardly her only role in The Simpsons. She's also been the voice of Chuckie in Rugrats since 2002, and has done numerous other voice roles on TV and in movies. As for live action, she played a role in the "It's A Good Life" segment of 1983's Twilight Zone: The Movie, and appeared in tons of sitcoms and other shows over the years, like Cheers, The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, and the ill-fated spin-off Baywatch Nights. Okay, that last one isn't technically a comedy.

Breckin Meyer

On the live-action side of things, Breckin Meyer will probably always be first remembered for the role of the stoner Travis Birkenstock in Clueless. It's a truly iconic role in a legendary movie at this point. He's also been very busy over the years doing voice-over work, most notably in Robot Chicken episodes, where he is a multi-Emmy-nominated actor.

David Herman

David Herman has been a voice-over actor on some of the most beloved cartoons in recent years like Bob's Burgers, King of the Hill, and Futurama. Many years ago, he became part of movie history as Michael Bolton in Office Space.

Phil LaMarr

Phil LaMarr has been a cast member in a ton of legendary cartoons. In addition to multiple roles in the DC world, including The Green Lantern, he also played big recurring roles in The Family Guy (as Ollie Williams), The Adventures of Jimmy Neutron, Boy Genius (Bolbi Stroganofsky), Futurama (Hermes Conrad), and many others. He was also a member of the cast of MadTV, and maybe most famously, he played the ill-fated Marvin in Pulp Fiction.

Alanna Ubach

Alanna Ubach has found a lot of balance between her voice acting on shows like The Spectacular Spider-Man, El Tigre: The Adventures of Manny Rivera, and Pound Puppies, plus movies like Rango and Coco. She's also done plenty of live-action work in shows like Beakman's World, Eli Stone, and Euphoria, where she plays Suze.

Hank Azaria

This is an actor who really needs no introduction. Hank Azaria has been in dozens of live-action roles, of course, but it still probably best known for the dozens of voices he does on The Simpsons.

Cedric Yarbrough

Cedric Yarbrough's breakout role came as Deputy Jones on Reno 911!, but you may also know his voice as Tom DuBois and Colonel H. Stinkmeaner in The Boondocks and Chocolate Giddy-up in Black Dynamite. Like others on this list, he's also done work in the DC world, as Firestorm and other characters.

Harry Shearer

Harry Shearer is a Hollywood vet whose career dates back to the 1960s. He's best known for his live-action roles in This Is Spinal Tap (and its 2025 sequel), and some of the Christopher Guest mockumentaries, like The Mighty Wind. As a voice actor, he is certainly most famous as multiple characters on The Simpsons, including Principal Skinner, Mr. Burns, and many others.

Richard Steven Horvitz

Richard Steven Horvitz's voice is most recognizable to Mighty Morphin Power Ranger fans. He's provided the voice for Alpha 5 for years over multiple properties. As for movie roles you may know, he played Alan Eakian, the dorky, nerdy character in the Mark Harmon-led classic '80s comedy Summer School.

Stephen Root

One of my favorite character actors of all time is Stephen Root. He's been in some of my favorite movies and TV shows like Newsradio, O Brother Where Art Thou, and, of course, Office Space. He's also done a bunch of voice work in projects like Finding Dory, Finding Nemo, and various roles in the DC animated universe.

Trey Parker

Trey Parker is the co-creator and star of South Park, of course. Do I really need to say more about his voice work (he does lots of voices on the show)? He's worked a fair amount in his own live-action stuff as well, most famously BASEketball.

Matt Stone

Like his partner, Trey Parker, Matt Stone is most famous for the show he co-created, South Park. Like Parker, he writes and does many voices in the show, and like Parker, he's also starred in the live-action BASEketball and other movies.

Dan Castellaneta

The voice of Homer Simpson, provided by Dan Castellaneta, is one of the most recognizable voices in television history. Castellaneta even invented the word "D'oh," which is now in the Oxford English Dictionary. He's also appeared in a lot of sitcoms, as part of the live-action cast of The Tracy Ullman Show, and tons of one-offs in Married... With Children, Friends, Arrested Development, The Office, and others. He's also been in a bunch of movies like The Client, The War Of The Roses, Say Anything..., and Space Jam, for starters.

Alex Bornstein

You certainly know her from her voice as Lois on The Family Guy, but you also know her face as Susie on The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel. Alex Borstein started her career doing voices in the original Mighty Morphin Power Rangers before becoming a part of the original cast of MadTV. Like a few others on this list, she's split time pretty equally between live-action and voice work.

John Ratzenberger

Hey Normie, did you know that John Ratzenberger is known as Pixar's good luck charm? The actor, who is most famous for playing Cliff on Cheers, has appeared in almost every Pixar film going back to Toy Story. As such, he's actually one of the most successful actors ever when you add up the box office totals of his movies.

Ed Asner

Ed Asner was pretty famous before he really leaned into doing voice work, but for a generation of people, he'll always be best known as the voice of Carl Fredricksen in Up and for his voice work on shows and movies like The Boondocks, All-Star Superman, Christmas Is Here Again, and in live-action work like playing Santa in Elf, in addition to his most famous TV role, Lou Grant on The Mary Tyler Moore Show.

Julie Kavner

There are plenty of members of the Simpsons cast on this list, including Julie Kavner, who has been the voice of Marge and her sister Patty, and Selma since the beginning. She's also had a long career on screen, including the Nora Ephron-directed This is My Life in 1992 and Awakenings, alongside Robin Williams in 1990. She's also in 2025's Ella McCay, directed by Simpson's co-creator James L. Brooks.

Bill Farmer

Bill Farmer is an actor who has spent most of his career behind the microphone doing voice work. He's been the voice of popular Disney characters like Goofy and Pluto for decades now. He's also done voices for The Adventures of Jimmy Neutron, Boy Genius, Robot Chicken, and others. You might, if you're a fan of the still politically relevant RoboCop like I am, know him for his small role as a reporter in the Paul Verhoeven-directed '80s action flick.

David Faustino

Though he started acting as a child, David Faustino's big break came when he was cast as Bud Bundy in Married... with Children. These days, he has become one of the most in-demand voice actors, working on the Winx Club franchise, 2023's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem, and shows like The Legend of Korra, Robot Chicken, and DreamWorks Dragons.

Seth MacFarlane

Seth MacFarlane has created an incredible career after breaking out as the creator, writer, and main voice actor on Family Guy, as well as its spin-offs and related shows like The Cleveland Show and American Dad. He also wrote and directed Ted, providing the voice of the bear, of course. On the live-action side, his best-known role came in The Orville as Captain Ed Mercer.

Clancy Brown

For the last three decades, Clancy Brown has been the main voice of Lex Luthor in various DC animated shows and movies. He's also dabbled in Marvel shows and done plenty of Disney projects as well. He's also a very in-demand character actor, appearing in shows like HBO's The Penguin, Showtime's Dexter: New Blood, Netflix's Daredevil, and so much more.

Mila Kunis

To be fair, Mila Kunis is more well-known for her live-action work than her voice list, as is the case with a few of the people on this list. She is, of course, the voice of Meg on The Family Guy. Her other work on TV and the big screen is well known, like That '70s Show, Forgetting Sarah Marshall, Friends with Benefits, and Bad Moms. She's also done voice work on Robot Chicken.

Gary Anthony Williams

Comedian Gary Anthony Williams is beloved for his role as Uncle Ruckus in The Boondocks and for his role as Mr. Dos on Special Agent Oso. He's also a regular contributor on Whose Line Is It Anyway? and in movies like Harold & Kumar Go to White Castle and Block Party.

Mark Hamill

For most people, Mark Hamill will always be Luke Skywalker first, last, and only. But fans of the actor know that his career has been far more varied. Fans of the DC animated movies may love him for being the voice of The Joker in many shows and movies as much as they love him for his role in the Star Wars movies.

Seth Green

One of my all-time favorite movies is Can't Hardly Wait, and Seth Green's character Kenny Fisher is a big reason why. He's probably most famous for playing Scott in the Austin Powers movies, but he's also a well-respected voice actor, as the co-creator of Robot Chicken, and for roles like Howard the Duck in the Marvel movies.

E. G. Daily

Without a doubt, E. G. Daily is best known as the voice of Tommy Pickles in Rugrats. Daily has dozens of voice credits beyond that, in shows like The Powerpuff Girls, Julius Jr., Curious George, and more. She started in Hollywood doing more live-action work in roles like the singer in Better Off Dead, one of the best dark comedies of the '80s.

Laraine Newman

As one of the original "not ready for primetime players" on Saturday Night Live, Laraine Newman will always be a big part of television history. Later in her career, she has done a ton of work for Pixar in movies like Finding Nemo, WALL-E, and Inside Out.

Carlos Alazraqui

Did you know the voice of the Taco Bell Chihuahua was one of the cast members of Reno 911? Yup, Carlos Alazraqui, who played Garcia on the Comedy Central show, was behind the voice who said "Yo quiero Taco Bell" back in the '90s. He's got dozens of other voice credits, but you can't deny how great that bit of trivia is.

The next time you watch a comedy movie, see if you can picture the star engaging in fisticuffs with a criminal and taking down their henchpeople in a shootout. You never know: they could be Hollywood’s next great action hero.

Will Smith

After initially coming to prominence as a rap artist, Academy Award winner Will Smith proved he had a charismatic onscreen presence as the star of the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air cast in the early 1990s. In 1995, he was cast in director Michael Bay's buddy cop movie, Bad Boys, and, the following year, led Roland Emmerich's action-packed alien invasion flick, Independence Day. There would soon be so much more where those came from.

Cheech Marin

Along with his partner, Tommy Chong, Cheech Marin essentially became the face of stoner comedy, especially after co-leading the classic '70s movie, Up in Smoke. His career would take a turn when he appeared in 1995's Desperado, leading him to become a staple of Robert Rodriguez's movies, and, eventually, began portraying a type of character his roles from the Cheech & Chong movies would try to avoid alongside Don Johnson in the hit cop show, Nash Bridges.

Chris Pratt

By channeling much of the same comedic energy from his scene-stealing breakout role in the Parks and Recreation cast as Andy Dwyer, Chris Pratt helped make 2014's sci-fi odyssey, Guardians of the Galaxy, a light breath of fresh air into the Marvel Cinematic Universe. His fun, heartfelt performance as Peter "Star-Lord" Quill also convinced Hollywood he was leading man material, opening the door for him to star in the Jurassic World movies and Amazon Prime's The Terminal List, to name a few.

Paul Rudd

Paul Rudd made his major motion picture debut in the hilarious high school movie classic Clueless before later hit comedies like Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy, The 40-Year-Old Virgin, and Knocked Up made him one of Hollywood's most sought-after actors in the genre. He found the perfect role to become inducted into the MCU in the form of Ant-Man, playing the shrinking superhero with the same everyman quality that made him an A-lister.

Michael Keaton

Because Michael Keaton got his start in stand-up comedy and had been best known for movies like Night Shift and Mr. Mom at the time, comic book fans were up in arms over Tim Burton's decision to cast him in his live-action Batman movies, Batman and Batman Returns. The Oscar nominee has since been regarded as one of the best actors to play the Dark Knight (if not the best) and would even return to superhero movies as one of the best Spider-Man movie villains, Vulture, in 2017's Spider-Man: Homecoming.

Nicolas Cage

It is easy to forget that Nicolas Cage started out in comedies like Valley Girl and Peggy Sue Got Married before blowing us away in high-octane thrillers like Con Air, Face/Off, and Gone in 60 Seconds. Then again, it is also easy to tell that the Oscar winner has a comedy background from some of his action movie credits, including the three listed above and his even Cagier roles, like from Mandy and Willy's Wonderland.

Damon Wayans

You may have forgotten he was on Saturday Night Live, but you should surely remember Damon Wayans from his days on the In Living Color cast and from sitcoms like My Wife and Kids. Hopefully, you did not also forget about his roles in '90s crime thrillers The Last Boy Scout (opposite Bruce Willis) and Bulletproof (opposite Adam Sandler) or when he took over as Roger Murtaugh for Fox's series adaptation of Lethal Weapon.

Robert Downey Jr.

After lasting one season on Saturday Night Live, appearing in several '80s teen comedies like Weird Science, and earning his first Oscar nod for playing Charlie Chaplin, Robert Downey Jr.'s career would hit a snag in the early 2000s. Luckily, he would make an inspiring comeback after leading the 2005 noir thriller Kiss Kiss Bang Bang before kicking off the Marvel Cinematic Universe in the title role of Iron Man and playing Guy Ritchie's version of Sherlock Holmes.

Eddie Murphy

Many credit Eddie Murphy with single-handedly saving Saturday Night Live in the early 1980s, right before making his feature debut alongside Nick Nolte in Walter Hill's 1982 buddy crime thriller, 48 Hrs. Just two years later, the comedian led his own acclaimed action-comedy movie called Beverly Hills Cop, which made him Hollywood's biggest star.

Bruce Willis

In the mid-to-late 1980s, Bruce Willis was best known for playing David Addison on Moonlighting, starring opposite Kim Basinger in Blind Date, and appearing in commercials for Seagram, which is why audiences initially laughed when they saw him as John McClane in the trailer for Die Hard. However, the 1988 action classic would immediately skyrocket the actor to stardom and turn him into a top Hollywood action star, later known for leading thrillers like The Fifth Element, Armageddon, and Sin City.

Jamie Foxx

Jamie Foxx's stand-up career led him to join the In Living Color cast and lead his own self-titled sitcom before his Oscar-winning performance in the 2004 music biopic, Ray, and Oscar-nominated performance in Collateral the same year opened wider doors for him. He went on to star in more thrillers like Jarhead, The Kingdom, Quentin Tarantino's Django Unchained, The Amazing Spider-Man 2 as Electro, and White House Down.

Alan Ritchson

One of Alan Ritchson's first major acting credits was playing doltish college football player Thad Castle on the uproarious sitcom Blue Mountain State before landing a small role in The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, doing performance capture for the 2014 and 2017 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movies, and playing Hank "Hawk" Hall on Titans. The 6'3" actor's defining, star-making turn came when he was cast in the title role of the hit Amazon Prime TV show, Reacher, leading to his casting in Guy Ritchie's The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare.

Lucy Liu

Lucy Liu landed her breakthrough role on the hit workplace dramedy Ally McBeal as Ling Woo. Soon after, she achieved cinematic stardom in 2000's Charlie's Angels, teamed up with Antonio Banderas in the 2002 spy thriller Ballistic: Ecks vs. Sever, and was cast as ruthless assassin O-Ren Ishii in Quentin Tarantino's Kill Bill.

Bob Odenkirk

Bob Odenkirk wrote for Saturday Night Live for years in the 1980s before co-leading his own acclaimed sketch comedy series with David Cross called Mr. Show, which was his main claim to fame for years. However, he stumbled onto a new career path when he joined the Breaking Bad cast as Saul Goodman, who earned his own prequel spin-off called Better Call Saul, before leading his own action flick called Nobody.

Martin Lawrence

Martin Lawrence led a successful stand-up career that turned into a successful TV career with his hit sitcom, Martin, in between starring in movies like Do the Right Thing and Boomerang. In 1995, he played Det. Marcus Burnett, for the first of multiple times in Bad Boys and even went on to play a cop in a few more overt comedies, namely Blue Streak and Big Momma's House.

Ryan Reynolds

For years, even after starring in more earnest thrillers like Smokin' Aces and Safe House, it seemed like Ryan Reynolds' defining performance would forever be the title role of National Lampoon's Van Wilder, which paved the way for him to star in more raunchy comedies like Waiting... or Just Friends. However, that would change in 2016 when he led Deadpool, which is still very much on the side of silly but is also as action-packed as any other comic book movie.

Sam Richardson

Sam Richardson quickly became a favorite in the comedy landscape for his hilarious performances in shows like I Think You Should Leave, Veep, and Ted Lasso. Tom Hanks

He has also become a staple of the comic book movie genre with his role in the MCU as Agent Jimmy Woo and as Dr. Shin in the Aquaman movies.

Shia LaBeouf

Shia LaBeouf started making a name for himself when he was a teen as Louis on the Disney Channel original comedy series, Even Stevens. He went on to make a Hollywood breakthrough in the Transformers movies, which led to his roles in Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull and, eventually, David Ayer's 2014 war drama, Fury.

Malin Akerman

Ernest Borgnine was already an Oscar-winning movie star when he was cast as the lead of the hit sitcom, McHale's Navy. Eventually, he would appear in more earnest action-oriented titles, such as a made-for-TV adaptation of All Quiet on the Western Front, John Carpenter's Escape from New York, and 2010's RED.

Parents understand this dilemma. From the moment you have kids – at least, if you are a movie lover – you start to brainstorm the movies you can’t wait to share with your sons and daughters. Sometimes, they are movies the whole family will love. In fact, if you are a family looking for an evening together in front of a great movie, here are the best options streaming at the moment. But other films were special to us growing up, and we hope that they are going to have a similar effect on our kids. Except, our memories of these movies might not be as sharp as we had hoped.

This has happened to me a number of times over the years. We have two boys, and they are now 20 and 16. But as they were growing up, I tried all sorts of movies that were impactful to me as a kid. And maybe only half of them worked on my kids. Usually, they’re just dated, and move too slow for a more modern audience. Other times, they are not appropriate, and I surprise myself by thinking, “I watched this when I was 10?”

Something similar happened to Mila Kunis as she and Ashton Kutcher were showing their kids a film for family movie night. The Bad Moms star ended up being a bit of a bad mom, sharing this story as she made the press rounds to promote her new movie Goodrich, co-starring Michael Keaton. Kunis told CinemaBlend about a family road trip they took through Iowa, and on a beautiful summer night, they decided to pull the camper over, set up a projector, and show their kids Raiders of the Lost Ark. What could be bad about Indiana Jones searching for the Ark of the Covenant? Well, as Kunis describes it:

Who can blame Mila Kunis and Ashton Kutcher for trying to show their kids Raiders of the Lost Ark? Indiana Jones is a seminal hero in American cinema. And it’s not like they teed up Temple of Doom! That movie was so disturbing, it helped lead to the creation of the PG-13 rating at theaters. The later Indiana Jones movies are more family friendly, though The Last Crusade still has its fair share of Nazis.

What’s funny is, Mila Kunis didn’t stop there. As it turns out, she had another personal experience of firing up a movie from her youth that she thought would go over really well, only to have it bomb. As Kunis explained, her daughter had a friend stay over, and both girls – who were around 9 years of age – were super into cheerleading. Kunis, like most of us, immediately thought of Kirsten Dunst’s classic comedy Bring It On. Great pick, right? Well, Kunis admitted to CinemaBlend:

Still, sharing Bring In On has become a rite of passage for some. I mean, look at Bring It On co-star Gabrielle Union and her baby daughter rocking matching Bring It On outfits for Halloween. That’s adorable. I wonder when Union will show the movie to her daughter? Probably older than nine.

We don’t think Mila Kunis is a bad mom for trying to show Bring It On and Raiders of the Lost Ark to her kids. I mean, she could have popped on Ted. Or even Black Swan. That would do some permanent damage.

When Cameron Diaz was still a model primarily, one of her first experiences with acting – before making her feature debut in The Mask – was in a TV ad. The future Shrek movie star shines in an early '90s Coca-Cola commercial that feels a lot more like a perfume ad from the era in its alluring direction.

Paul Rudd (Super Nintendo)

All of Paul Rudd's versatile talents – from making us laugh in movies like The 40-Year-Old Virgin to thrilling us as Ant-Man in the Marvel movies – can be traced back to a Super Nintendo commercial he did in the early '90s. He plays a very enthusiastic video gamer who attracts a crowd when he, somehow, hooks up his console to a drive-in theater projector for the ultimate experience of playing The Legend of Zelda and other favorites.

Jennifer Lawrence (My Super Sweet 16)

Jennifer Lawrence got to be the original My Super Sweet 16 girl without appearing on the actual reality TV series that documented wealthy young women's extravagant birthday celebrations. MTV ran dramatized promos for the then-new show starring the future Academy Award winner and Hunger Games movie star as the birthday girl who encounters a few mishaps during her festivities.

Brad Pitt (Pringles)

Years before he starred in Super Bowl Heineken ad helmed by his Fight Club director, David Fincher, the then-up-and-coming Brad Pitt got a taste of commercial acting by starring in a 1988 Pringles spot. He plays one of three surfer dudes who become stranded on the side of a California road when a trio of lovely women approach them for an impromptu Pringles party.

Amy Adams (Commercial Federal Bank)

Mainstream audiences first became aware of Amy Adams' impeccable singing talent in 2007's Enchanted but customers at Commercial Federal Bank were really the first to discover her. In 1997, the multi-Oscar nominee starred as an Olvia Newton-John lookalike in a parody of 1978's Grease for the bank.

Steve Carell (Brown's Chicken)

Steve Carell's channeled his inner Michael Scott long before leading NBC's The Office cast when he was just starting out acting in commercials. In the early 1990s, he played a Brown's Chicken employee whose clumsy mistake while setting up a marquee advertising "cholesterol-free cooking" accidentally convinces customers the food will cost them nothing.

Drew Barrymore (Pillsbury)

It must have been clear to anyone who spotted Drew Barrymore in her early Pillsbury commercial that she was destined to capture our hearts in E.T. the Extra-terrestrial just a few years later. The 1979 ad stars the then-four-year-old as a little girl whose mother cheers her up on a rainy day by making chocolate chip cookies.

Leonardo DiCaprio (Bubble Yum)

Before breaking out with his supporting role in Growing Pains and really hitting big leading the Titanic cast, the up-and-coming Leonardo DiCaprio did a few commercials. One sees the future Oscar winner demonstrate his natural charisma while demonstrating the powerful flavor of Bubble Yum bubble gum.

Arnold Schwarzenegger (Alinamin V)

You may never be able to look at Arnold Schwarzenegger the same way again after witnessing the series of gobsmackingly bizarre ads the Terminator star filmed in Japan long after his big break. As the spokesperson for an energy drink called Alinamin V, the future California governor puts on a maniacally large smile and is sometimes seen riding the beverage's bottle into space or popping out of it like a genie.

Mila Kunis (Telephone Tammy)

Had Mila Kunis' Jackie Burkhart been a child of the '90s, Telephone Tammy – a doll who responds to your call with an included play phone – sounds like the kind of toy she would have grown up with. Not to mention the fact that the future That '70s Show cast member appeared in a commercial for Mattel when she was just starting out.

Morgan Freeman (Polaroid)

Future Academy Award winner and voice-over extraordinaire Morgan Freeman starred in a number of TV commercials early on in his career. One such ad was a 1970s spot for Polaroid, not as the man holding the camera that instantly prints out photos but the man telling the amateur photographer to cool it with the reshoots.

Britney Spears (Maull's)

Die-hard fans of pop superstar Britney Spears know that she started out as a child actor who worked with Ryan Gosling on The Mickey Mouse Club, among other rising stars. One of her earlier roles was a young girl who was apparently very excited to eat a home-cooked hamburger in a commercial for Maull's Barbecue Sauce, a local St. Louis brand.

Mark Hamill (Kodak)

Before playing Luke in the Star Wars movies made him familiar with technology from a galaxy far, far away, Mark Hamill represented what must have felt like a futuristic innovation at the time. He starred in a 1975 commercial for a Kodak camera that takes high-resolution photos from far away, allowing him to snap a shot of his girlfriend (and her mother) on a balcony while he stays on the ground.

Anne Hathaway (Better Homes And Gardens Real Estate)

Academy Award winner Anne Hathaway first showed her talent for performing in romantic dramas like One Day and The Idea of You in a 1996 commercial for Better Homes and Gardens. She plays a young woman who believes she and her boyfriend will still have time to spend before his family moves away until they learn the real estate agency has already sold the house.

J.K. Simmons (Farmers Insurance)

From his memorable roles in HBO's Oz and Sam Raimi's Spider-Man movies, J.K. Simmons was pretty well known by the time he was cast as Professor Nathaniel Burke of the University of Farmers for a long-running Farmers Insurance ad campaign. When he won his Oscar for Whiplash, host Neil Patrick Harris sang an impromptu parody of the company's commercial jingle.

Harrison Ford (Kirin)

Playing Han Solo in Star Wars and the title hero of the Indiana Jones movies made Harrison Ford an international star and one of the highest-grossing actors of all time. He would also increase his notoriety in Japan by starring in a series of commercials for a regional brand of lager called Kirin.

Keanu Reeves (Corn Flakes)

Before playing a master of kung fu in The Matrix, a master of gun-fu in the John Wick movies, and a master of excellency in the Bill & Ted movies, Keanu Reeves played a master of sneaking a bowl of cereal for himself. The role of a waiter who enjoys some of the breakfast food he has been hired to serve comes from an '80s-era ad for Kellogg's Corn Flakes.

Betty White (Snickers)

Snickers had a funny ad campaign starring well-known actors as metaphorical representations of the out-of-character behavior of hungry people. One of the earliest, and funniest, stars the legendary Betty White as a dude who needs a bite of the protein-loaded candy bar when his performance in a casual football game is off.

Bruce Willis (Seagram's Coolers)

When he was best known for Moonlighting and before starring in one of the all-time greatest action movies, Die Hard, Bruce Willis had another claim to fame: Seagram's Golden. He served as the adult beverage's spokesperson in a series of ads, some of which utilized his musical talents.

Jeff Goldblum (Apartments.com)

It's a little strange how a performer as widely recognized and beloved as Academy Award nominee Jeff Goldblum would be hired to star in an ongoing ad campaign as an original character and not just as himself. Nevertheless, the star of Jurassic Park and The Fly is dazzling and dazzling in the Apartments.com commercials as Brad Bellflower.

Sharon Stone (Finesse)

In the 1990s, films like Basic Instinct and her Academy Award-nominated role in director Martin Scorsese's Casino made Sharon Stone one of the most esteemed, and desirable, actors of her time. In the 1980s, her looks helped sell Finesse shampoo as one of the most desirable brands in the hair care market.

Jack Black (Pitfall)

It appears that Jack Black's charismatic, high-energy sense of humor was something he possessed from a young age. Exhibit A: his appearance in a 1982 commercial for Atari's Pitfall, as a wide-eyed child in a safari hat enthusiastically recalling his experience in the jungle-set video game, years before he played a jungle-set video game character in Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle.

Sarah Michelle Gellar (Burger King)

No one would have believed, in 1983, that an adorable six-year-old girl who became a recurring spokesperson for Burger King would grow up to become one of the fiercest horror Scream Queens in the genre's history. Yet, that would become Sarah Michelle Gellar's destiny after leading the Buffy the Vampire Slayer cast as the titular defender against evil.

Tobey Maguire (Tropicana Twister)

In 1991, when he was still a teen, Tobey Maguire did an ad for a blended juice drink from Tropicana called Tropicana Twister. The future Spider-Man actor only briefly appears as a kid who breaks the fourth wall, suggesting that broccoli be added to the next unique flavor combination.

Courteney Cox (Tampax)

Before starring in the Friends cast as Monica Gellar, Courteney Cox was best known in the 1980s for dancing with Bruce Springsteen in the "Dancing in the Dark" video. However, did you catch the future Scream movies star's appearance in a Tampax ad as a gym patron?

Joseph Gordon-Levitt (Pop-Tarts)

Joseph Gordon-Levitt is one of the most acclaimed former child stars who still act, with film and TV credits that back to the late '80s and early '90s like Angels in the Outfield and, of course, 3rd Rock from the Sun. Years before then, he wore the face of a spokesperson for Preparation H in a commercial from the early 1980s.

Willem Dafoe (Mercedes Benz)

With roles like one of the best Spider-Man movie villains, Green Goblin, and others, Willem Dafoe has proven time and time again that he plays an exceptional bad guy. This list would be nothing without mentioning maybe the most famous wizard in all of literary history, who made his major motion picture appearances courtesy of Sir Ian McKellen in The Lord of the Rings movies, as well as The Hobbit trilogy. Gandalf the Grey cannot be ignored, and not just because he’s so much taller than most of his traveling companions!

Neve Campbell (The Craft)

Fledgling teen witches count just as much as those who’ve been witchin’ for decades, which is why Neve Campbell’s eventual power-hungry sorceress, Bonnie, is on this list. The Craft is a teen horror classic that’s worth a watch.

Bette Midler (Hocus Pocus)

Here’s another classic movie witch who’s hard to forget. Bette Midler really dialed it up for her performance as Winifred Sanderson in 1993’s Hocus Pocus (along with fellow witchy Sanderson sisters Kathy Najimy and Sarah Jessica Parker), and the results were so memorable that a Disney+ sequel was made nearly 30 years later.

Cher has excelled in pretty much every role she’s ever had, and that includes widowed mother/witch Alex in The Witches of Eastwick. This one gets wild but you’ll never regret watching her (or her co-stars Susan Sarandon, Michelle Pfeiffer and Jack Nicholson) as things go from weird to worse.

Nicolas Cage (The Sorcerer’s Apprentice)

We all know that Nicolas Cage has played a multitude of roles during his decades-long career, so it should be little surprise that he’s portrayed as a user of magic. Before you get too deep into wondering whether or not there’s a real difference between a wizard and a sorcerer, just know that Cage played the latter in this 2010 film that takes some inspiration from a segment in Disney’s animated classic, Fantasia.

Tia And Tamera Mowry (Twitches)

Sure, there have already been people on this list who played witches along with other really famous people, and those co-stars weren’t listed as the main star, but guess what: none of those other people starred with their twin, which is the case with Tia and Tamera Mowry in the beloved Disney Channel original film, Twitches. Did this one get a sequel? You bet it did!

Meryl Streep (Into The Woods)

No one can deny the prowess or ability of 21-time Oscar nominee (and three-time winner) Meryl Streep to deliver an amazing performance. The same can be true for when she played the character known simply as The Witch in the film adaptation of the Broadway musical Into the Woods (and, yes, got an Academy Award nomination for her work).

Steve Carell (The Incredible Burt Wonderstone)

And here we have another Las Vegas magician in Steve Carell’s Burt Wonderstone. Instead of watching him steal money, we follow along in this comedy as Burt attempts to reunite with his former partner (Steve Buschemi) so they can gain more traction than a competing magician (Jim Carrey) whose “tricks” mostly involve odd feats of endurance and real pain.

Edward Norton (The Illusionist)

You’d be forgiven for confusing this film with the above-mentioned The Prestige, as they’re both about old-timey magicians and released in 2006. However, this film stars Edward Norton as our…illusionist, and is more of a romantic mystery than Nolan’s thriller.

Lucy Lawless (Salem)

So many evil witches, so little time. The WGN TV series, Salem, was loosely inspired by the Salem witch trials, and focused on a lead who was trying to bring the Devil to earth. But, that wasn’t even the character played by Xena actress Lucy Lawless, as her Countess Palatine Ingrid von Marburg was simply a different and far more evil witch. Can’t anyone use magic to just like, keep everyone’s house clean so we can all have more free time?

Guy Pearce (Death Defying Acts)

It’s actually rather surprising that we’ve gotten this far into the list without coming to someone who portrayed a famous real-life magician, so we can thank Guy Pearce for that. His 2007 supernatural romance, Death Defying Acts, saw him play Harry Houdini.

Angela Bassett (American Horror Story: Coven)

Even for those who don’t follow along with the amazing antics on every season of the anthology series, American Horror Story, it would probably be a little shock to find out that the show has cast several witches during its long run. The subtitle of this 2013 season tells you that it was dedicated to witchy goings-on, and double Oscar nominee Angela Bassett had a notable guest role as real historical figure/Voodoo practitioner Marie Laveau.

Sebastian Stan (The Covenant)

The actor who would come to be known as Bucky “Winter Soldier” Barnes, Sebastian Stan, played a very different type of super-powered character in 2006, when he played teen warlock Chase Collins in the fantasy film The Covenant. It also features stars like Taylor Kitsch and Chase Crawford, who also get their magic on in the film.

Michelle Pfeiffer (Stardust)

As we’ve seen from the entry on Cher, Michelle Pfeiffer had already played a witchy woman by the time she appeared in the 2007 movie Stardust, as an evil (of course) witch looking to retrieve a fallen star to have ever-lasting beauty and youth.

Debbie Reynolds (Halloweentown)

Here’s another Disney Channel classic, which follows a young witch who realizes she has powers on her 13th Halloween, only to be transported to the titular town where supernatural creatures can live without human interference. The late Debbie Reynolds plays her grandmother (also a witch), and returned for all three sequels.

Benedict Cumberbatch (Doctor Strange)

This 2016 MCU entry stars Benedict Cumberbatch as an injured doctor who involves himself in the business of fighting evil with sorcery after losing the use of his hands and heading to a mysterious enclave to look for healing. Cumberbatch has appeared as the character in a number of Marvel franchise films now, including a 2022 sequel to his original solo film.

Mila Kunis (Oz The Great And Powerful)

Here’s a movie filled with magical beings that’s often forgotten. Oz the Great and Powerful saw Mila Kunis, along with Michelle Williams and Rachel Weisz, play witches of, yes, that Oz who have to determine if the Kansas magician who’s turned up in their realm is really the “great” wizard they’ve been waiting for.

Daniel Radcliffe (Harry Potter And The Sorcerer’s Stone)

This is another actor and portrayal that this list would basically be pointless without. Though Daniel Radcliffe has gone on to portray a wide variety of good and bad guys in the past decade or so of his career, for many he will always be known as the boy wizard, Harry Potter.

Selena Gomez (Wizards Of Waverly Place)

What? Did you forget that Selena Gomez, the Grammy-nominated singer and star of the Hulu hit show Only Murders in the Building, got her first taste of fame on a Disney Channel series? Well, shame on you for not being able to remember that Gomez led Wizards of Waverly Place through a magical four-season run as the supernaturally gifted teen, Alex Russo.

Elizabeth Olsen (WandaVision)

Do we have yet another MCU stalwart for you? You bet we do! Elizabeth Olsen first took on the role of Scarlet Witch during the post-credits scene of Captain America: The Winter Soldier, later starring in several more of the franchise films and the critically lauded Disney+ series, WandaVision, for which she received an Emmy nomination.

Sam Neill (Merlin)

While there have certainly been a number of movies and shows that have given us versions of the mythical wizard known as Merlin, NBC’s two-part, 1998 miniseries saw Sam Neill use his recent Jurassic Park stardom to show us an adventurous tale of Merlin’s life before the birth of King Arthur.

Rosamund Pike (The Wheel Of Time)

Many of the portrayals we’ve discussed (and will continue to discuss below) have dealt with book-to-screen adaptations that are based on already incredibly popular novels, and The Wheel of Time is certainly one of those. The Amazon series, which takes its story from the 14-book franchise by Robert Jordan and Brandon Sanderson, stars Rosamund Pike as powerful magic user Moiraine Damodred, who takes a group of young adults on a journey to save the world.

Julia Ormond (Witches Of East End)

This Lifetime series, which ran for two seasons from 2013 to 2014, followed the women of the Beauchamp family, witches in a small, fictional seaside town who are led by their mother, Julia Ormond’s Joanna, and have to fight to save themselves and the people of their town from dark magical forces.

Emma Thompson (Beautiful Creatures)

This 2013 Gothic fantasy romance focuses on a teen who will learn on her 16th birthday whether or not her witch tendencies will be for good or ill. Two-time Academy Award-winning actress and screenwriter Emma Thompson plays her mother, Sarafine, who didn’t raise the girl but wants her on that dark side really, really badly.

Tilda Swinton (The Chronicles Of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch And The Wardrobe, Suspiria)

Considering that Tilda Swinton has played everything from a gender-switching hero in Orlando to the MCU’s version of the Ancient One in the aforementioned Doctor Strange and the archangel Gabriel in Constantine, is anyone surprised to know that she’s played some witches? In both The Chronicles Of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch And The Wardrobe and Suspiria she was very good at playing magical ladies who wanted (or already had and wanted to continue) to do some very bad things, but the latter film has WAY more serious and bloody fun for those who watch.

Jack Black (The House With A Clock In Its Walls)

Frequent funny man Jack Black as a warlock? That’s what the 2018 fantasy The House With A Clock In Its Walls delivers, as the Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle star portrays a boy’s magic uncle who lives in the house of a dead evil wizard and is trying to discover the location and purpose of a clock the previous dastardly owner hid in the walls.

Jude Law (Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes Of Grindelwald)

While much of the Harry Potter franchise featured either actors Richard Harris or Michael Gambon as the beloved Professor Albus Percival Wulfric Brian Dumbledore, when the prequels were made, a younger Albus Dumbledore was needed and they called in Jude Law to fill the wizard’s very important and legendary shoes.

Julianne Moore (Seventh Son)

Last but certainly not least on our list of famed actors who’ve brought wizards, witches and magicians to life is lauded talent Julianne Moore. The Academy Award winner starred in 2015’s Seventh Son as the evil witch Mother Malkin, who escapes after many years imprisoned and looks to restore her full power by any means necessary.

As you can see, many of our most beloved stars have portrayed wizards, witches and magicians!

When Mila Kunis returned as her iconic character Jackie in That ‘90s Show, it was a cameo That ‘70s Show fans have been anticipating seeing since the sitcom’s final episode back in 2006. While it was disappointing that Jackie didn’t return for the spinoff series' second season, Kunis will be returning to the big screen in her first live-action role since her memorable cameo and I’m incredibly pumped that Michael Keaton is involved.

We saw Mila Kunis in That ‘90s Show hilariously yelling at her on-and-off husband Kelso just like when the two went out as teenagers in That ‘70s Show. Even though we got that bit of nostalgia last year and we still hear her voicing Meg Griffin in one of the best animated shows Family Guy, we’d still like to see her talent shine in live-action form. Well, our wish has come true as she’s got her first live-action role in the comedy film Goodrich. And I’m excited to announce that Michael Keaton will be involved in sharing the screen with her too!

Based on the trailer, Goodrich stars Michael Keaton as an art dealer who asks his adult daughter to help him raise his nine-year-old twins after his second wife heads to a 90-day rehab. As the two characters seemingly have a complex relationship with each other to begin with, it’ll be exciting to see the chemistry between the two leads share love, laughter, and tears along their journey of reconnection.

The last time that we saw Mila Kunis get a starring role in a movie was Netflix’s Luckiest Girl Alive. That mystery thriller had the Bad Moms actress play the very dark role of a New Yorker who appears to have it all until her involvement in a crime documentary exposes the truth of a shocking moment that happened when she was a teenager at a private school. With dark roles like Luckiest Girl Alive, the sobriety and recovery film Four Good Days, and the Darren Aronofsky flick Black Swan, Goodrich appears to be the perfect role for Kunis for her big screen return in seeing a blend of comedy and drama come out of her performance.

Just when you felt pumped knowing Mila Kunis would light up the big screen again, it’s like icing on the cake that Michael Keaton is involved too. While the veteran actor has already had a prolific acting career with his best movies from the ‘80s and ‘90s like Batman, Mr. Mom, and Jackie Brown, his great roles just continue to keep growing. He blew audiences away with his Oscar-nominated performance in Birdman and has recently revived his memorable roles by wearing Batman’s costume again in The Flash and making Beetlejuice Beetlejuice with Tim Burton. Goodrich can allow audiences to see Keaton’s lovable charm he’s brought to audiences for decades in some feel-good family fun.

Mila Kunis’ cameo in That ‘90s Show may have been her recent on-screen appearance, but it won’t be her last as she gets to co-star with Michael Keaton in Goodrich. I’m super pumped that not only will we see Kunis’ big screen return, but that The Founder actor will be there to share the screen with her as they bring their powerful chemistry to the highly anticipated film. You have the chance to see the 2024 movie release in theaters on October 18th.

Most actors don't just come out of the woodwork and immediately get awards attention, box office success and global stardom. Many start out taking bit parts in big movies or supporting character gigs opposite more successful performers. From Academy Award winners like Charlize Theron and Viola Davis to superhero stars like Tom Holland and Ben Affleck, here are 32 now-famous faces you might not remember popped up in famous movies before they were big. 

Matt Damon

In his movie debut, a very young Matt Damon can briefly be seen in 1988's Mystic Pizza as Steamer Windsor, the younger brother of Adam Storke's Charles, the clean-cut, country-club love interest of fun-loving pizzeria waitress Daisy (Julia Roberts). Steamer is present at an awkward dinner where Charles brings Daisy home to meet the family. 

Viola Davis

In the 1998 crime comedy Out of Sight, which is undoubtedly one of Steven Soderbergh's best movies, Viola Davis has a small role playing Moselle Miller, the wife of boxer Maurice "Snoopy" Miller (Don Cheadle). She would later go on to act alongside her Out of Sight co-star Jennifer Lopez in another crime flick, 2015's Lila & Eve.

Philip Seymour Hoffman

The 1992 Martin Brest melodrama Scent of a Woman memorably stars Al Pacino as a blind retired colonel and Chris O'Donnell as the prep-school student hired to watch over him, but it also features Philip Seymour Hoffman in one of his earliest performances as a fellow student named George Willis, Jr.

Carey Mulligan

The Bennet household is a bustling one in Joe Wright's 2005 adaptation of the Jane Austen classic Pride and Prejudice, so much so that you might have overlooked that — along with the likes of Keira Knightley, Rosamund Pike and Jena Malone — a teenaged Carey Mulligan is one of the Bennet sisters. (It's just one of many movies that prove Mulligan should be a much bigger star.) 

Elijah Wood

Long before he embarked on a quest to destroy the One Ring as Frodo in The Lord of the Rings, Elijah Wood was a successful child actor in films like The Adventures of Huck Finn, The Good Son, North and Flipper. However, before those starring roles, the pint-sized performer showed up as "Video Game Boy #2" in Back to the Future Part II.

Octavia Spencer

The 1999 Drew Barrymore comedy Never Been Kissed is jam-packed with unexpected actor appearances, from Jessica Alba to James Franco — together they play a dopey but popular high school couple — to Octavia Spencer. The latter plays a coworker of the main character Josie Geller (Barrymore) at the Chicago Sun-Times. 

Timothée Chalamet

With everything that goes on in Christopher Nolan's Interstellar — you know, that whole part about the astronauts who have to travel through a wormhole near Saturn in search of a new home for humankind — viewers may have forgotten that a fresh-faced Timothée Chalamet as Tim, the teen son of Matthew McConaughey's Cooper. 

Brie Larson

Well before she received an Oscar or donned a superhero cape, Captain Marvel star Brie Larson was a tween actress who had a main role in the short-lived WB sitcom Raising Dad. One of her first big-screen gigs, however, was as a popular Six Chick in the 2004 Jennifer Garner favorite 13 Going on 30. (Don't feel too bad, Mark Ruffalo didn't remember her either.) 

Charlize Theron

If you're a fan of The Wonders, you no doubt remember band members Guy (Tom Everett Scott), Lenny (Steve Zahn), Jimmy (Johnathon Schaech) and the bass player (Ethan Embry). However, you may not so readily remember that Charlize Theron is also in That Thing You Do!, as Guy's ex-girlfriend Tina, who leaves him for her dentist. 

Joe Manganiello 

Before making the ladies sweat in the Magic Mike franchise, Joe Manganiello was making Peter Parker sweat for an entirely different reason in Sam Raimi's Spider-Man film series, playing the high-school bully Flash Thompson. His character dated Kirsten Dunst's Mary Jane before she ended up with Spidey himself (Tobey Maguire). 

Seth Rogen

The titular teen protagonist of Donnie Darko (played by Jake Gyllenhaal) doesn't just have to deal with those disturbing visions of a rabbit-costumed man named Frank. He also has to deal with a pair of high school bullies, one of whom is played by Seth Rogen in his first ever movie appearance. 

Amy Adams

The Steven Spielberg-directed crime comedy Catch Me If You Can featured several now-well-known actresses before they were household names, including Ellen Pompeo, Elizabeth Banks and Amy Adams. The latter acted opposite Leonardo DiCaprio (played teenage con artist Frank Abagnale Jr.) as Brenda Strong, a young hospital worker who falls for Frank and his fraud. 

Keira Knightley

Given her uncanny resemblance to Natalie Portman, it's only fitting that a teenage Keira Knightley appeared as Sabé, a handmaiden and royal decoy for Portman's Padmé Amidala in Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace. Even Knightley herself could use a reminder about who she played in the space trilogy!

Michael Fassbender

Years before memorable film roles in Inglourious Basterds, Jane Eyre, the X-Men movies and his Oscar-nominated turn in Shame, Michael Fassbender made his film debut in the 2006 action epic 300. He played the character of Stelios, a young, spirited and highly skilled Spartan soldier fighting under Gerard Butler's King Leonidas.

Sandra Oh

"Gupta? Mhm. Mhm. Mhm. The queen is coming!" It's one of the most memorable lines uttered in The Princess Diaries and it's said by none other than a pre-Grey's Anatomy Sandra Oh. Joining Anne Hathaway and Julie Andrews in the beloved cast, Oh plays the humorous vice principal at Mia Thermopolis's school. 

Margot Robbie

Before her big breakout in The Wolf of Wall Street — and even longer before she painted the world pink with the phenomenon that is Barbie — rom-com fans got their first introduction to Margot in the 2013 romantic dramedy About Time. Robbie plays Charlotte, a woman that the main character Tim Lake (Domhnall Gleeson) is crushing on before he meets his true love, Mary (played by Rachel McAdams).

Joaquin Phoenix

The 1989 Ron Howard-directed comedy Parenthood already has a stacked cast — Steve Martin, Rick Moranis, Keanu Reeves, Mary Steenburgen and Dianne Wiest, to name a few — before you even remember that one of the youngins in the movie is played by a teenage Joaquin Phoenix, then going by his birth name Leaf.

Samuel L. Jackson

It's hard to remember a time when Samuel L. Jackson wasn't a major movie star, but in the 1970s and '80s, the iconic actor was racking up bit parts in big titles, including Eddie Murphy's Coming to America. In the 1988 rom-com, Jackson plays a character known as "Hold-Up Man," an armed robber who has held up the local fast-food restaurant called McDowell's five times. 

Kristen Stewart

Though she has been acting professionally since grade school, Kristen Stewart didn't become a global star until she played moody teen Bella Swan in 2008's vampire romance Twilight. But years before that, she played a memorable part in the 2002 David Fincher thriller Panic Room, appearing opposite Jodie Foster as her character's daughter. 

Dakota Johnson

\Dakota Johnson had her big Hollywood breakthrough leading a beloved book-to-film adaptation, as Anastasia Steele in the erotic Fifty Shades film series. But she actually showed up in another huge movie five years earlier: 2010's The Social Network, as a college coed who spends the night with Sean Parker, played by Justin Timberlake. 

Gabrielle Union

Before she led the Clovers to cheer competition victory in 2000's Bring It On, Gabrielle Union was given supporting roles in '90s teen favorites like 10 Things I Hate About You and She's All That. The latter was actually her film debut, in which she appeared as popular girl Katie, a member of Zack Siler's (Freddie Prinze Jr.) friend group. 

Nicolas Cage

Technically, Nicolas Cage wasn't in Fast Times at Ridgemont High. But Nicolas Coppola was — when he made his feature film acting debut in the 1982 coming-of-age comedy, the actor was still going by his birth name. However, the Oscar-winning star would later change his name professionally to avoid nepotism allegations. (He is, of course, the nephew of director Francis Ford Coppola and actress Talia Shire, and a cousin of director Sofia Coppola and actor Jason Schwartzman.)

Johnny Depp

Johnny Depp memorably made his big-screen debut in the 1984 horror film A Nightmare on Elm Street, but movie fans might not remember that a short while later, he also appeared in Oliver Stone's war film Platoon as a young soldier fighting in the Vietnam War alongside the likes of Charlie Sheen, Willem Dafoe, Tom Berenger, Forest Whitaker and Kevin Dillon. 

Natalie Portman

Natalie Portman has had a prolific acting career ever since she was a tween, starting from when she starred as the young protégée of a hitman in the 1994 action film Léon: The Professional at only twelve years old. Though that was an instantly memorable introduction to the performer, you might have forgotten that only a year later, she worked alongside screen greats like Al Pacino and Robert De Niro in the Michael Mann-directed classic, Heat. 

Tom Holland

He's most famous for spinning webs as Spider-Man but long before that, Tom Holland was making his film debut (and making audiences weep) in the 2012 disaster drama The Impossible, as a young boy desperately trying to reunite with his family following a horrific tsunami. 

Vince Vaughn

The heartwarming 1993 sports drama Rudy — about a young man (Sean Astin) who dreams of playing football at the University of Notre Dame — features an ironic pair of film-acting debuts. It was the first movie roles of both Jon Favreau and Vince Vaughn, playing teaching assistant D-Bob and tailback Jamie O'Hara, respectively. That duo would famously go on to star in the 1996 buddy comedy Swingers. 

Ryan Gosling

Another early football role for a Hollywood heavyweight, a young Ryan Gosling already had some big TV gigs under his belt (The Mickey Mouse Club, Young Hercules) before he appeared as Alan Bosley, the wiry cornerback of T. C. Williams High School's football team in Remember the Titans. And if you remember that locker-room singalong, you know the little Goose had charisma even then!

Mila Kunis

Yes, that is a mini Mila Kunis in Honey, We Shrunk Ourselves — she played a friend of Wayne Szalinski's (Rick Moranis) niece, who throws a house party once it seems like all of the grown-ups have left for the evening. (Instead, the adults have been accidentally zapped to microscopic proportions, naturally.) 

Daniel Craig

Before he was Bond, James Bond, Daniel Craig was Ballard, John Ballard, in the 1998 historical drama Elizabeth. The British actor portrayed a priest-slash-assassin who conspired with the Duke of Norfolk (Christopher Eccleston) to overthrow Queen Elizabeth I (played by Cate Blanchett) from the throne. Of course, Bond would never treat the Queen of England that way!

Jake Gyllenhaal

Given that filmmaking is a family business for Jake Gyllenhaal — he is the son of film director Stephen Gyllenhaal and screenwriter Naomi Foner, and the younger bro of the great actress Maggie Gyllenhaal — it's not a shock that the actor started young. He made his film debut at age ten in 1991's City Slickers, playing the son of Billy Crystal's character Mitch Robbins. 

Kerry Washington

Kerry Washington is best known for playing crisis management expert Olivia Pope in the ABC drama series Scandal, but more than a decade earlier, she showed off her fix-it skills as Chenille Reynolds in Save the Last Dance, helping Julia Stiles's character Sara better integrate into their South Side high school and hip-hop culture at large. 

Ben Affleck

Like his famous best friend Matt Damon, Ben Affleck also began his acting career as a child and while eagle-eyed moviegoers no doubt remember spotting him in early-'90s films like School Ties and Dazed and Confused, they may have forgotten his uncredited early cameos, such as "Basketball Player 10" in the Buffy the Vampire Slayer movie. 

Back in 1998, a Fox sitcom named That ‘70s Show premiered that propelled actors like Topher Grace, Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis to fame. Now fans of that series can return to Point Place in That ‘90s Show, with Season 1 being released to Netflix subscription holders back in January 2023, and the first part of Season 2 hitting the 2024 TV schedule shortly. This new series is, of course, spotlighting a new group of teenaged protagonists, so there are bound to be comparisons between them and their predecessors. In fact, Debra Jo Rupp offered a cute comparison to CinemaBlend when noting a similarity between series regular Reyn Doi and Kunis in the That ‘70s Show days.

Rupp and Kurtwood Smith respectively reprise Kitty and Red Foreman in That ‘90s Show as series regulars, and I was able to speak with them about their work on the Netflix series ahead of Season 2, Part 1’s drop. In addition to Smith explaining what convinced him this series would escape being cancelled after one season, here’s what Rupp told me when I asked the two if were any particular moments working with the That ‘90s Show cast that gave them flashbacks to when they were working with their younger That ‘70s Show costars:

Reyn Doi stars in That ‘90s Show as Ozzie, the 13-year-old member (in Season 1) of Leia Foreman’s summer who’s sharp, cynical, sarcastic and rarely gets emotional, although there was that nice moment in Season 1 where he worked up the courage to tell Kitty Foreman that he was gay. In real life though, Debra Jo Rupp pointed out that Doi is very much in tune with his emotions, which made her think of the days when Mila Kunis was playing Jackie Burkhart and often crying on set. Hey, nothing wrong with letting some tears out when all of That ‘90s Show Season 2 is in the can.

While Reyn Doi is a tad older than Ozzie, it’s worth mentioning that not only was Jackie Burkhart the youngest member of That ‘70s Show group, Mila Kunis was the youngest cast member. Unlike the other actors playing these teenaged rapscallions, Kunis was not over 18 when she was cast, but rather just 14. She lied to the casting directors and told them she would be turning 18, but didn’t specify when. It worked out for her though, as they liked her playing Jackie and kept her in the role. Kunis and Ashton Kutcher cameoed in That ‘90s Show’s first episode, but don’t expect to see them in Season 2, if ever again.

That ‘90s Show Season 2, Part 1 premieres tomorrow, June 27 on Netflix, and some of the familiar That ‘70s Show faces joining Debra Jo Rupp’s Kitty and Kurtwood Smith’s Red this time around include Laura Prepon reprising Donna Pinciotti, Don Stark’s Bob Pinciotti having an expanded role and Seth Green returning as Mitch Miller. The Holocaust was Nazi Germany’s deliberate genocide of European Jews that left 6 million murdered. With millions of people affected by the Holocaust, there’s a good chance you or someone you know has family connections to those who passed away or those who survived during that devastating time. With a number of Jewish talents in Hollywood who you may have found in 2024 movie releases, many famous celebrities have shared the stories of their family ties with the Holocaust.

Steven Spielberg

American filmmaker Steven Spielberg’s connections to the Holocaust go way beyond the boundaries of his World War II movie, Schindler’s List. Aish reported that in the biography, Steven Spielberg: A Life in Films, Spielberg’s father lost an estimated sixteen to twenty relatives who were from the Ukraine and Poland. He recalled that his parents would educate the blockbuster filmmaker on the Holocaust through many dinner talks:

In fact, Spielberg’s exploration of the Holocaust came full circle when he courageously delved into its horrors in Schindler’s List. Arguably the best film of Spielberg's and one the best of the ‘90s, he told the true story of German industrialist Oskar Schindler, who saved more than a thousand Polish-Jewish refugees at the time. The Jurassic Park director wanted to make a movie “that would confirm my Judaism to my family and myself.” Beyond Schindler’s List, Spielberg is also the founder of the Shoah Foundation which archives testimonies of Holocaust survivors.

Mila Kunis

During the Nazi occupation in the Ukraine, where Mila Kunis was born, 900,000 Jews were murdered. While speaking to Britain’s The Sun in 2012, the That 70’s Show actress revealed that her grandparents were Holocaust survivors:

Kunis also made sure to mention that her upbringing in the Ukraine was not a pleasant one. She remembered seeing anti-Semitic graffiti in her school in Chernivtsi and her school friend going home crying after someone put a swastika sign on the back of her seat. The Black Swan actress made sure to mention that while Russians weren’t allowed to be religious after the Holocaust, her parents made sure to remind her of her roots:

Gene Simmons

Florence Klein, the mother of Kiss frontman and former Jingles celebrity judge, Gene Simmons, apparently almost never spoke to her son about her experiences in the Holocaust. But according to The Times of Israel, the Israeli-born musician got some answers by reaching out to a German newspaper about his mother two years after her death. 

On the 75th anniversary of the then-19-year-old Klein’s liberation at the Mauthausen camp, Simmons was given 100 pages of what happened to his mother during the Holocaust. Here was her statement to the former Restitution Office in Koblenz:

Klein was transferred to the Venusberg sub-camp of the Flossenburg concentration camp in January 1945 and then arrived at Mauthausen two months later. Simmons found his grandmother’s name, Ester Blau, in the documents that said she died in the Nazi gas chambers. While reading the documents, the “Detroit Rock City” singer discovered something else important about his mother:

Lisa Kudrow

In Lisa Kudrow’s celebrity genealogy show Who Do You Think You Are?, she wanted to find answers to what her dad taught her growing up about their family ties with the Holocaust. The television star traveled to Minsk, Belarus for her episode, where she discovered almost the entire Jewish population of Belarus was murdered at the hands of Nazis. 

One of them was Kudrow’s great-grandmother, Meri Mordejovich, who was among Jewish citizens who were ordered to march to a storage building, forced to remove their clothes and enter the building where they were shot. The Nazis then threw oil on the walls and set the building on fire. According to Kvellar, here is the reaction the former Friends actress had in the episode: 

The one who broke the news at the time to Kudrow’s grandmother about Meri Mordejovich was their cousin, Yuri Barudin. Long believed to have died, the Easy A actress went on Ancestry.com to discover that Cousin Yuri was alive! Kudrow got to meet him and his grandchildren who then connected with her dad. 

Josh Gad

Known for his work in the Frozen series, which are two of the top-ranked Disney Animation movies, Josh Gad is the grandchild of Holocaust survivors. When That ‘90s Show premiered to Netflix subscribers in January 2023, it was packed with That ‘70s Show alums beyond Kurtwood Smith and Debra Jo Rupp reprising Red and Kitty Foreman, respectively, as series regulars. This included Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis cameoing at the end of the first episode, as Michael Kelso and Jackie Burkhart got back together and were revealed as the parents of Mace Coronel’s Jay. Alas, Kunis has said it’s unlikely she and Kutcher will appear on That ‘90s Show again, but word’s come in Don Stark, one of of their fellow That ‘70s Show co-stars, is going to get way more screen time in Season 2.

We’re Getting A Lot More Of Don Stark As Bob Pinciotti

After guest-starring in one episode of That ‘90s Show Season 1, Stark, who plays Bob Pinciotti, is set to have a “heavy recurring role” in Season 2, per Deadline. Bob is, of course, the father of Laura Prepon’s Donna, which, like Red, also makes him the grandfather Donna and Eric Foreman’s daughter Leia, played by Callie Haverda. According to the outlet, Bob will return to town to reconnect with Kitty and Red, though it’s unclear if that means he’s moving back to Point Place or just around for an extended stay. Stark was on That ‘70s Show’s main cast for the entirety of its run, and his other credits include Star Trek: First Contact, Spider-Man: The Animated Series and John Carter.

It’s also worth noting that when it comes to the actors who made up the younger cast of That ‘70s Show, Prepon is reportedly the only one of them who will appear in That ‘90s Show Season 2. Meaning, in addition to Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis’ absence, we also shouldn’t expect to see Topher Grace and Wilmer Valderrama back respectively as Eric and Fez. Then there’s Danny Masterson, who didn’t appear in Season 1 and won’t ever reprise Hyde since he’s been sentenced to 30 years in prison.

How Bob Was Used In That ’90s Show Season 1

Don Stark’s sole appearance in That ‘90s Show Season 1 was in the episode “The Birthday Girl,” when he returned to Point Place to celebrate Leia’s 15th birthday after having moved to Florida. Bob gave his granddaughter a karaoke machine, so Red and Kitty tried to one-up him during the party. Despite the brief rivalry, Bob was his normal jovial self with his fellow grandparents, even bringing them a bag of Florida oranges… which he used as a pillow on the flight to Wisconsin, but hey, it’s the thought that counts.

Hopefully with Bob confirmed for more episode in That ‘90s Show Season 2, that’ll mean we’ll see him share screen time with Donna again, as Laura Prepon was absent from “My Birthday Girl.” In addition to these two, the Netflix show’s sophomore season will also feature the return of Seth Green’s character Mitch Miller, who recurred in That ‘70s Show Seasons 5 and 6 as an annoying classmate of the gang’s.

That ‘90s Show made a serious splash amongst Netflix subscribers when it premiered on the platform in 2023. So it wasn’t all that surprising when the streamer opted to renew the That ‘70s Show spinoff for a second season, which is set to air later this year. Details on the next adventures for Point Place’s latest set of eclectic teens are scarce at the moment. However, it now seems we have confirmation from Mila Kunis that she and Ashton Kutcher won’t be returning to the show following their guest spots in Season 1. On the bright side though, another great OG guest star is set to pop up again.

Why Mila Kunis And Ashton Kutcher Likely Won’t Return To That ‘90s Show

Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis, who are married in real life, reprised their roles as Michael Kelso and Jackie Burkhart, respectively, during the pilot episode of ‘90s Show. It’s revealed that the two are about to get married (again) and are also parents. While they only appeared briefly, their scene was easily one of the most-talked about moments of the episode. So it was understandable that when ET caught up with Kunis at PaleyFest, the outlet asked her about possibly popping up on the sitcom again with her hubby. When turning down the notion, the actress provided the following explanation: 

Mace Coronel’s Jay Kelso – the son of Jackie and Michael – serves as one of the main characters on the show. Like his father, he has a tendency to be flirty, but he also has a somewhat earnest side. Based on the sentiments she shared above, the Bad Moms alum seems to be pleased to hand over the reins to Coronel and step away from her role. The notion of Jackie and Michael not appearing again may be disappointing to some, but the logic is understandable. 

Don’t think this decision means Mila Kunis has no sort of affection for this small-screen franchise, though. Ashton Kutcher actually revealed that fans can thank Kunis for making their cameos happen. Amid the show’s release, Kutcher revealed that his wife opined that they should reprise their roles because they owe their careers to That ‘70s Show. You have to appreciate that sentimentality. And, on the flip side, you also have to love that another series alum is pumped about appearing on the sequel series.

Which Classic ‘70s Show Alum Is Returning For The Netflix Show?

So far a number of ‘70s Show veterans have reunited with Debra Jo Rupp and Kurtwood Smith on Netflix’s spinoff. Topher Grace and Laura Prepon returned as Eric Forman and now wife, Donna (formerly Pinciotti) and Wilmer Valderrama reprised his role as Fez. Also re-entering the fold were Don Stark (Bob Pinciotti), Jim Rash (Fenton) and Tommy Chong (Leo Chingkwake). Now, Seth Green is set to return in the role of Mitch Miller, as the star himself revealed that while speaking to ET alongside Family Guy co-star Mila Kunis:

The antagonistic Mitch Miller appeared several times throughout the original show’s fifth and sixth seasons. A smarmy classmate of the OG gang, he got on their bad sides on a couple of occasions and even nearly came to blows with Eric after he embarrassed Donna. Seth Green didn’t reveal how Mitch factors into ‘90s Show, but I’m curious to see how it plays out and am pumped that Green is excited to make multiple appearances on the series.

It’s clear that the producers are definitely looking to maintain continuity between both of the franchise’s shows and, as long as said cameos remain organic (and funny), I’m here for them. Let’s hope Seth Green delivers a memorable return as Mitch, and keep your fingers crossed that Mila Kunis and Ashton Kutcher surprise us with another visit from Jackie and Kelso.

Sequels are serious business, as a meteoric hit like Seth MacFarlane’s 2012 comedy Ted aren’t always built to continue onward. The 2024 TV schedule is about to give way to a limited prequel series that fills in some of the backstory in that universe, which gives us a good entry point to talk about how this unlikely franchise became its current self. So why not take this opportunity talk about how Ted 2 totally changed on a dime during its development.

Seth MacFarlane originally had a totally different sequel in mind, but thanks to some outside circumstances, the 2015 movie changed into something off that beaten path. Though as a result, this may or may not have been the reason Mila Kunis didn’t return to her role of Lori for a full movie, as two different stories were told in the press. 

So before you take advantage of your Peacock subscription to watch that Ted prequel series, here’s the story behind what Ted 2 could have been and what led to some drastic changes. 

Ted 2’s Original Story Pitch

Thanks to a directorial debut that netted $549.4 million at the box office, Seth MacFarlane’s Ted became a box office smash after debuting on June 29, 2012. As you'd expect, it didn’t take long for the wheels of progress to turn, as Universal brass made Ted 2 a priority, per an announcement that September. 

According to an interview that MacFarlane did with promoting the film’s eventual release, the original idea for this sequel could have cribbed from another legendary Universal property. Here’s part of what Seth revealed to CinemaBlend in a 2015 roundtable when it came to the original Ted 2 draft: 

Oh, if this wasn’t a set up for a feature-length riff on Smokey and the Bandit, I don’t know what is. You can practically see Mark Wahlberg and his CGI teddy bear co-star tooling around in a ‘77 Pontiac Firebird, trying to do what they say can’t be done. So in that respect, we might have seen Mila Kunis’ Lori pay a role akin to Sally Field’s Carrie, should this have been the plan. 

It looks like we’ll never know, because that Ted 2 pitch was not long for this world. As development on the 2015 sequel would continue in the shadow of Ted’s surprising 2012 success, another movie would come along just a year later that would derail these plans with a very similar story. And as a result, a domino effect would take hold, changing everything.

Why Seth MacFarlane Had To Rewrite Ted 2

Imitation may be the sincerest form of flattery, but Seth MacFarlane didn’t want to look like he was ripping off the competition with his free-roaming Ted 2 adventure. Further along in the previously cited interview with CinemaBlend, the Family Guy creator admitted that one certain 2013 comedy was the reason for diverting the original course of action. Here’s the rest of how that story played out:

A box office smash in its own right, director Rawson Marshall Thurber’s own R-rated road comedy saw Jason Sudekis and Jennifer Aniston embarking on a fake family road trip to smuggle some pot in from Mexico. So yeah, We’re The Millers definitely sounded like it was along the same lines of the first iteration of Ted 2. 

The movie's $270 million grosses certainly would have made things more difficult for this sequel to really take off. It could have been a perfect storm of unfair comparisons, which would have been piled onto the usual sequel expectations. 

The bad news was that the work that was already in play had to be junked, which sucks even more when you consider the fact that surprise comedy sequels are as time sensitive as party invites. So if Ted 2 was to stand a chance, it needed a new angle going forward. Eventually, Seth MacFarlane would find that angle, thanks to some unlikely inspiration. 

As Collider was on hand for the same roundtable that yielded this information, that outlet’s reporting discussed how MacFarlane retooled Ted 2: 

It's time for another good news/bad news scenario, folks. Or at least, that’s what it looks like depending on who’s version of events you subscribe to. As it turns out, according to MacFarlane's side of the story, Ted 2’s evolution came at the cost of Mila Kunis’ character. 

How Ted 2’s Rewrite Led To Mila Kunis’ Absence, According To Seth MacFarlane

To be fair, at the end of Ted, the Patrick Stewart narration did seem to tie everything up rather nicely. Again, no one expected a sequel from this then-unknown quantity. So when Mean Girls star Amanda Seyfried was cast in Ted 2, the big question became what in the world happened to Mila Kunis’s Lori? 

Well, according to Seth MacFarlane’s continued remarks during the Ted 2 roundtable, the plan changed due to that huge redraft inspired by We’re the Millers. In the story, Lori was supposedly trying to change Johnny into someone he wasn't, and their love affair wasn't meant to last. But for the purposes of our reality, here’s why Lori was no longer in the picture:

In Ted 2’s opening, we find out that Johnny and Lori divorced just six months before Ted’s marriage to Tami-Lynn (Jessica Barth). Those nuptials turned into a quest to determine whether this sentient teddy bear had the rights of an actual person, which led to the boys hiring lawyer Samantha Leslie Jackson (Amanda Seyfried) to try the case. 

Apparently Ms. Seyfried was surprised by Ted 2’s changes as well. Promoting the movie leading up to its 2015 release, she seemed to be under the impression that the road trip idea was still in the cards when she signed up. That’s not all that changed apparently, as in her own account of events, Mila Kunis gave a different reason for not being in Ted 2.

The Reason Mila Kunis Gave For Not Appearing In Ted 2

While Seth MacFarlane’s case for a Mila Kunis-free Ted 2 involved story mechanics, that’s not what the Jupiter Ascending star gave as her reason for not being present. According to an AMA that Kunis did for Reddit (via Looper), the reason that Lori did not return for another round of stuffed bear-induced mayhem was the following concern:

Honestly, that’s another valid reason for Ted 2 to introduce a new lead into the mix. And with both of those cases reported, it could be a situation where one scenario led into another. As it was reported by Deadline, Mila Kunis wasn’t a major character in the new draft of Ted's big sequel. Should that have been true, then her pregnancy may have led to her decision to not return to the franchise at all, as it wouldn't have been worth the fuss. 

There would need to be a bit more clarification from all parties, but this seems to be the most likely case based on what we've seen here. Much like the original pitch for Ted 2, we'll probably never hear anything further on the matter, though that didn't spell certain doom for Universal's continuing comedy concept. 

Ted 2 would eventually go on to be a surprise 2015 hit, even though it wouldn’t hit the heights that its predecessor achieved. That’s still not a terrible fate for a film that even Seth MacFarlane wasn’t sure would succeed. And now, with a limited prequel series heading to Peacock in the near future, the story is far from over for Johnny Bennett and Ted. 

Perhaps there’s a chance that, should this new venture last long enough, we’ll see a natural reintroduction to Lori, and maybe even a reunion for a hypothetical Ted 3. For now, the future is definitely in the past, as Ted's limited series debut is slated to take place on January 11. If you want to keep the fun going, the 2012 picture that started it all is also available on that same streaming platform. 

Danny Masterson was retried for rape earlier this year and was ultimately found guilty of raping two women. As a result, Masterson was later sentenced to 30 years in prison. In the aftermath of the verdict, it was revealed that several of the That ‘70s Show alum’s colleagues wrote character letters on Masterson’s behalf. Among them were married couple Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis, who faced significant backlash for their actions. The two have mostly remained silent over the past few months but, in honor of Thanksgiving, Kutcher shared a message, in which he discussed what he’s “thankful for” this holiday season. And his sentiments seemed to correlate with the flak he took for his letter. 

It was on X (formerly known as Twitter) that Ashton Kutcher shared his holiday-oriented comments. The 45-year-old father of two named life, health and friendship as a few of the elements in his life that he’s most grateful to have. Kutcher also went on to say that he’s thankful for two particular words that are part of the English language as well as a few other concepts. And one can’t help but get the feeling that he’s alluding to the situation that went down with his longtime co-star: 

While Danny Masterson is not mentioned anywhere in the message, the sentiments shared near the end could be applied to the situation involving the character letters. The Your Place or Mine actor seemed to indicate through his post that he’s thankful for having the ability to speak out and listen to others when it’s warranted.

It was reported in early September that Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis (and co-stars Debra Jo Rupp and Kurtwood Smith) had written letters that were submitted to the judge presiding over the rape retrial in the lead-up to the verdict. When writing about his former co-star, Kutcher reportedly said he was a “role model” when they worked together, while Kunis referred to his “exceptional character.” When Kunis and Kutcher later broke their silence on the matter, they apologized and explained that Danny Masterson’s family reached out and asked them to pen the messages. While the pair aimed to write about the Masterson they knew years ago, they said they were aware of the “pain” their letters had caused and stressed that they support victims.

The two continued to receive backlash following the apology video, which at least one PR expert found to be ineffective. As a result of the situation, the Guess Who star also resigned from his post as the chairman of Thorn. The aim of the organization’s leads is to combat human trafficking and prevent the exploitation of children. 

All the while, Danny Masterson remains in police custody and, since his sentencing, he’s worked out arrangements with his estranged wife, Bijou Phillips. After Masterson was sentenced, Phillips filed to divorce him after nearly 12 years of marriage, citing “irreconcilable differences.” The Men at Work actor also agreed to give Phillips full custody of their 9-year-old daughter, Fianna. 

It seems that Ashton Kutcher, for his part, is now looking to move past the drama surrounding his former on-screen partner. Time will tell how Kutcher – as well as Mila Kunis – navigate their lives from a professional perspective as time goes on. But at present, it sounds like Kutcher is just thankful for what he currently has in his life.

The rape trial of embattled actor Danny Masterson was filled with a considerable amount of drama, and that’s seemingly carried over into the aftermath of his guilty verdict and sentencing. After Masterson was given 30 years to life in prison for raping two women, it was revealed that former co-stars, including Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis, wrote character letters on his behalf. The celebrity couple ultimately received backlash, and that ensued after Kunis and Kutcher broke their silence on the matter via an apology video. Now, a PR expert is weighing in on why that clip ultimately proved to be ineffective.

Celebrity apologies are not uncommon, as there have been rare instances in which major Hollywood stars issued statements as a way to address certain actions on their part. Many of those are handled by a public relations team, and veteran crisis rep Molly McPherson is familiar with those kinds of statements. McPherson recently analyzed the video that was put out by the That ‘70s Show alums, and she believes it falls short in one key regard. In her eyes, it lacks any sense of responsibility on the two stars’ part: 

In their video, Mila Kunis and Ashton Kutcher explained that Danny Masterson’s family reached out to them months ago, asking if they’d write the letters. Kutcher, who referred to Masterson as a “positive influence” in his statement, said the letters were meant to “represent the person that we knew for 25 years.” Kunis later added that she and her spouse “support victims” and that their messages “were not written to question the legitimacy of the judicial system or the validity of the jury’s ruling.” The clip ultimately closed out with Kutcher saying that they never meant to “retraumatize” those impacted by their co-star’s reported actions and apologized if that had taken place. 

Many social media commentators have weighed in on the apology at this point, making note of several aspects. Aside from questioning the wood-paneled background, some have postulated that the two appear uncomfortable in the footage. Molly McPherson, in her email to Insider, believes there’s a specific reason for that: 

As previously alluded to, That ‘70s Show’s Michael Kelso and Jackie Burkhart actors weren’t the only two series alums to write letters on their colleague’s behalf. Kurtwood Smith and Debra Jo Rupp – who played Red and Kitty Forman, respectively – also spoke to the convicted actor’s character. At this point, Mila Kunis and Ashton Kutcher are still dealing with the fallout, which has seen Kutcher resign as the chairman of his anti-sex abuse organization, Thorn.

Since confirming his decision to step down from that position, neither the Your Place or Mine star nor his wife have made any further comment on the letters or Danny Masterson’s situation. Whether the couple choose to speak out again or take any further action remains to be seen.

Following news that That ‘70s Show star Danny Masterson was sentenced to 30 years in prison for raping two women last week, news broke that his former co-stars, Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis, had written character statements in support of Masterston prior to the ruling. With the couple facing backlash for their decision to take part in his trial, Kutcher has now made the decision to resign from his role as Board Chair for the anti-sex abuse organization Thorn, which he co-founded with Demi Moore back in 2012. 

Kutcher decided to resign following it becoming known that he, Mila Kunis, and reportedly other That ‘70s Show stars penned character statements during Masterson’s trial, on his behalf. He addressed the organization’s board with a statement, which was published by Thorn. He wrote, in part: 

Thorn categorizes itself as “a leader in the child safety ecosystem” that is proactive in defending children from sexual abuse. The organization has worked with the tech industry to create and implement prevention tools and resources to protect children who may be targeted. Kutcher continued with these words: 

Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis worked closely with Danny Masterson on That ‘70s Show for eight years. Masterson was first accused of sexual assault in 2017 when at least four women came forward with allegations of rape between 2001 and 2003, which was when the actor was on the hit sitcom. The women went on to file a suit against him and the Church of Scientology (of which he is a member) in 2019 for purported harassment and stalking in connection to their rape claims.

In the character statement from Kutcher, the actor reportedly called Masterson “an extraordinarily honest and intentional human being” who had been a “positive influence" on him. Kunis wrote “Danny has proven to be an amazing friend, confidant, and, above all, an outstanding older brother figure to me” within her letter. 

Masterson was formally charged in 2020 before he pleaded not guilty in 2021. In late 2022, a trial began that ultimately was declared a mistrial due to a hung jury. Masterston was back on trial in April 2023 which resulted in a guilty verdict, and his current sentencing of 30 years in prison. 

Kutcher’s letter continued to apologize for the hurt his character statement may have caused, and he explained:

Kutcher’s decision to step down from his role at Thorn comes after he and Mila Kunis broke their silence about writing the character letters last week. The couple shared an understanding of the “pain” their letters caused, and emphasized their support for victims and their commitment to “continue to do so in the future.” 

As Kutcher steps down in his position from Thorn, the organization shared it would not be where it is without his contributions for the “significant role in the impact” the anti-sex abuse organization has made. 

In August, actress Taryn Manning made headline waves upon sharing (and then deleting) a video discussing her ongoing affair with a married man, complete with details about having “licked his butthole” on a near-nightly basis. She’s now back at the forefront of the social media spotlight for a variety of posts that respectively called out her former bosses at Netflix’s Orange Is the New Black and a Breaking Bad vet that she filmed a TV movie with, as well as married celebs Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis.

Orange Is The New Black Accusations

For all seven seasons of Netflix’s Orange Is the New Black, Taryn Manning portrayed the role of the redneck meth head Tiffany “Pennsatucky” Doggett, who was arguably most memorable for her grody teeth. She was also at the heart of a very grody storyline involving James McMenamin’s CO Charlie Coates. The Season 3 episode “A Tittin’ and a Hairin’” featured two scenes of sexual assault, one flashback sequence in which a teenage Pennsatucky is raped, and a present-day scene in which an angered Coates rapes Manning’s character in one of the prison transport vans.

Taking to Instagram with a post that has since been deleted (via EW), Manning firmly blamed Netflix and the OITNB for allegedly not offering her any kind of guidance when it came to going on the press cycle and having to talk about Pennsatucky being victimized over and over again. Here’s how she put it:

It’s a struggle that more actresses than one might expect have had to deal with, especially in more recent years, with sexual assault being depicted on TV and in films with more candidness and realism, and also far more often than ever before. And Manning clearly feels as if she was underserved when it came to preparing her to deal with talking about such dark and traumatic subject matter in interviews. 

What’s more, Pennsatucky’s arc involving Coates became even more disturbing and seemingly exploitative in the next two seasons, as capped off by a sequence in which the CO watches the prisoner in the throes of masturbatory ecstasy, which she doesn’t seem to mind in the moment. One can imagine that having to answer questions about her character’s mindset during that stretch would also be a difficult situation.

Taryn Manning Claims She Was Abused By A Breaking Bad Vet

Though she deleted the comments involving Netflix, Orange is the New Black, and showrunner Jenji Kohan, Taryn Manning currently still has a video post up in which she first calls out Ashton Kutcher for a Punk’d red carpet segment that addressed her sexuality, and then namechecked her Hustle & Flow co-star Terrence Howard and Breaking Bad vet Raymond Cruz, with whom she co-starred in the 2015 Lifetime TV movie Cleveland Abduction, with Cruz portraying the notorious kidnapper Ariel Castro. In Manning’s words:

Beyond the vaguely positive push for her new song "How I'm Gonna Drive a Car," the rest of that message was quite dour.  Terrence Howard has a history with allegations of physical and emotional abuse. He was accused by his first two ex-wives, Lori McCommas and Michelle Ghent, of physical abuse, and he was reportedly arrested in 2001 for assault, harassment, and more. It’s unclear what incidents Manning may have been referring to in calling him out. 

Manning and Raymond Cruz co-starred in the Cleveland Abduction project back in 2015, with the latter portraying the notorious kidnapper Ariel Castro, and the actress playing victim Michelle Knight. Press interviews at the time did not indicate any abusive issues behind the scenes, but one has to wonder if anyone else will speak up to back up her claims. 

Taryn Manning Put Ashton Kutcher On Blast Over Punk'd Segment

In Manning's initial post slamming Orange Is the New Black, the actress also addressed her friendship with convicted rapist Danny Masterson, and defended the idea of still being able to look back at memories of their friendship in a happy way without the thought of the crimes he's currently serving jailtime for. At the same time, she also slammed Masterson's former That '70s Show co-stars Ahston Kutcher and Mila Kunis, who publicly apologized after they were outed as having shared positive character judgment letters for Masterson as related to the trial process. 

Taryn Manning posted a message on Instagram Stories that took further aim at the aforementioned couple, saying:

The Sons of Anarchy vet's "M.C." comment referred to Mila Kunis' ex Macaulay Culkin, whom she dated from around 2002 to 2011. It's unclear what went on during this alleged plane ride, however.

Whether or not anything further will come from all these claims remains to be seen. Manning previously apologized after publicising her relationship with a married man, but these comments are obviously on a completely different wavelength, and could potentially lead to some form of repurcussion if those accused speak out.

Months after being found guilty of rape, former actor Danny Masterson was sentenced this past week. The judge ultimately sentenced him to 30 years in prison for raping two women. Amid this development and throughout the legal process, Masterson’s former That ‘70s Show co-stars have mostly remained mum on his situation. It would seem, however, that he did receive some support from a couple of the sitcom’s alums ahead of his sentencing. It would appear that Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis wrote letters on his behalf. 

News of the 47-year-old’s sentencing was reported by a number of sources, including ABC7 reporter Lisa Bartley. After she shared the news to X (formerly known as Twitter) this past Thursday, she provided an update. Bartley shared that she’d obtained letters that were sent to the presiding judge from the Men at Work alum’s loved ones. It was in that post that she revealed that his two fellow actors – who are married – wrote acknowledgements of their own: 

Knowledge on the specific content of the letters is scarce at this point. Per Good Morning America though (via Hello! Magazine), the pair of stars were complementary. Ashton Kutcher – who co-runs a foundation that combats child sex trafficking – allegedly referred to his former co-star as a “role model.” It’s reported that Mila Kunis made note of the actor’s “exceptional character” within her own remarks.

The married couple has a considerable amount of history with the embattled performer, mostly due to That ‘70s Show, which ran for eight years on Fox. Around a decade after the hit series’ conclusion, Ashton Kutcher reteamed with Danny Masterson for Netflix’s The Ranch. Masterson was ultimately fired from the show in 2017 due to the rape allegations he was faced with. Earlier this year, Kutcher addressed his colleague’s legal troubles during an interview with Esquire. The father of two maintained that he didn’t want to see Masterson “elude the law”  but hoped “for the truth to show he's innocent.”

Danny Masterson – a noted Scientologist – was accused of sexual assaulting multiple women between 2001 and 2003. At least four women came forward with the claims in 2017, and the trial (which saw the Church of Scientology get embroiled in the matter) ultimately began in the fall of 2022. However, due to a hung jury, Masterson’s case was declared a mistrial. The retrial began in the spring of 2023 and ended with the actor being found guilty of rape. Following his sentence, his lawyer, Shawn Holley, revealed that she’s “confident” the conviction will be overturned. She cites “significant evidentiary and constitutional issues” during the case as reasons for that thinking.

As of this writing, neither Ashton Kutcher or Mila Kunis have yet to publicly acknowledge these reported letters. The documents themselves have not been released to the general public in their entirety, at this point. For now, we can only wait and see if more information on the documents comes to the light.

In its 21 seasons that have aired so far on Fox, Family Guy has offered up myriad moments that have sparked outrage in viewers of all regions, races, religions and more. (To the point where one star now refuses to apologize for the show’s humor.) But it’s not every day that the animated Fox fave manages to tick off an entire region of the world. That’s sorta what happened with a two-part storyline that paid off in the Season 21 finale, however, which featured a less-than-savory portrayal of Russia in general (and the city of Chelyabinsk specifically) that drew some damning criticisms from an official who represents the area.

Family Guy’s finale aired on Sunday, May 7, and drew some of the show’s lowest live airing numbers to date (756,000 viewers/0.25 demo rating) which could possibly be due to the episode airing a half-hour earlier than normal. But regardless of how many were tuning in on the night, the ep still found its way to the eyeballs of Yana Lantratova, a region deputy for Chelyabinsk, who shared her displeasure with the Russian outlet Rise, saying: 

For years, Family Guy has been viewed as one of TV's most offensive shows, and the creative team hasn't exactly been belabored about avoiding that distinction. So anytime it offers up any take on a situation, it's undoubtedly going to be one that draws negative opinions. (Unless it's about Conway Twitty, I guess.) But it's obviously not the only animated show that exudes such snark, and Yana Lantratova spoke to that point with her complaints, calling out all art forms that present Russia in a judgmental light. 

To that end, the Family Guy episode certainly does go that route with its portrayal of the local citizens, by way of making everyone slap-happy on vodka and whatever other substances. But as an equal opportunity offender, the animated show doesn't exactly make other regions look better, so if Fox was to "limit the display" of this episode, it'd probably need to pull out on airing tons of other episodes in the same swoop.

Yana Lantratova spoke specifically about Chelyabinsk and the surrounding area's importance by way of culture and resources, beyond just calling out Family Guy's approach, saying:

As many viewers may already know, Meg's voice actress Mila Kunis was born in Chernivtsi, Ukraine. Given the warring nature of things between the countries, that adds another satirical layer to Meg's embrace of Russian culture.

Oddly enough, Family Guy was the one entry from Fox’s animation domination lineup that gave viewers a season finale that night, with The Simpsons, Bob’s Burgers and The Great North gearing up for their own finales that’ll be airing on May 21. I’m going to assume that the latter’s finale won’t be earning any harsh critiques from Canadian officials.

Last week marked the end of an era for Star Trek fans, with the series finale for Star Trek: Picard being delivered to Paramount+ subscribers. Whether we’ll ever see Patrick Stewart back again as Jean-Luc Picard remains to be seen, but in the meantime, he’s learned about another celebrity fan of the Star Trek franchise. That ‘70s Show star Mila Kunis showed off her fandom by singing her old cell phone ringtone to the lead of The Next Generation.

These two actors were guests together on The Late, Late Show with James Corden, which is ending tonight and will cost the eponymous host millions by walking away. It didn’t take long for Corden to bring up that Kunis is a Star Trek superfan, and she promptly told Stewart that she loves him “so much.” She then told the following story of how she showed off her enthusiasm for Star Trek:

Hearing about Nokia phones and this specific ringtone really takes me back, and I’m guessing Mila Kunis set her phone up this way around the time that Star Trek: Enterprise was airing on UPN. It doesn’t get much more 2000s than that, right? The actress kept her cool while telling that story, but when Corden asked Stewart about if he enjoys fans expressing their passion for the franchise to him, she started to get embarrassed, but it was all in good fun. As Patrick Stewart recalled, he was told when he was was cast as Jean-Luc Picard that Star Trek: The Next Generation wouldn’t last long. The joke’s on them, as the show itself ran for seven seasons, then was followed by four movies, and now we can tack on Picard’s three-season run. Whether or not this corner of the Star Trek franchise will continue with the proposed Legacy spinoff (which recently got a promising update from Terry Matalas), the point is that you’ll find fans from all walks of life, and we can count Mila Kunis as one of the more hardcore among them. Now I wonder if that ringtone is still available?

Following Star Trek: Picard’s conclusion, Star Trek: Strange New Worlds Season 2 will premiere June 15 on Paramount+, and if you missed Season 1, those episodes will air for free on Pluto TV during May. Other upcoming Star Trek TV shows include new seasons of Lower Decks and Prodigy arriving later in 2023, Discovery’s fifth and final season coming in 2024, and Starfleet Academy entering pre-production.

That ‘90s Show – Netflix’s sequel series to the beloved That ‘70s Show – proved to be just the jolt of nostalgia that viewers were looking for. Though audiences seemed to connect with the new cast of characters, they were also delighted to see a number of familiar faces from the OG show pop up. Ashton Kutcher notably reprised his famous role of Michael Kelso for the pilot. He also appeared alongside his on-screen and real-life wife, Mila Kunis, who plays Jackie Burkhart. Ahead of the show’s debut, Kutcher spoke a bit about returning to the role and, more recently, he revealed that fans have Kunis to thank for him signing on to do that epic cameo. 

Before they appeared on the hit streaming show, it had been almost two decades since Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis had played these roles. Since ‘70s Show ended its eight-season run in 2006, the stars have gone on to do projects that are far different from the Fox comedy. So considering that he’s in a different place in his career right now, one can understand if Kutcher may have been hesitant to bring Kelso back. However, Kunis made a poignant appeal to him that essentially ensured his involvement: 

The statement that the 45-year-old shared with Esquire isn’t wrong. The classic show, which premiered in 1998, provided the pair with their breakthrough roles. From there, both were able to segue into other projects. The Kelso actor, in particular, starred in Dude, Where’s My Car?, The Butterfly Effect, Guess Who and more while still on the show. He’d even produce and star in MTV’s fan-favorite prank show, Punk’d. So with all of those accomplishments in mind, it’s only fitting that the star returned to the root of all that success.

On That ‘90s Show, Kelso and Jackie appear near the end of the first episode, during which it’s revealed that they’re the parents of Jay, a Point Place teen who befriends Leia Forman. The development is made humorous due to the fact that Leia’s grandfather – the gruff Red Forman – isn’t pleased that she’s gotten close with a member of the Kelso family. The interaction between Jackie and Michael is also too perfect, as the on and off lovers – who are slightly more mature – are still as funny as ever. 

Ashton Kutcher updated fans on That ‘90s Show months ago and, at that time, he discussed just how “nostalgic” it was to be on set. In another instance, Kutcher mentioned his former castmastes as part of the reason he decided to return. He also explained that it was somewhat awkward working with Mila Kunis. While he relishes any opportunity to act alongside her, Kutcher noted that this experience was different due how their personal relationship has changed since they were on the original series. I don’t know about all of you, but I couldn’t sense awkwardness, based on their pitch-perfect performances. 

Of course, now that the show has landed a Season 2 renewal from Netflix, one has to wonder if Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis might be open to reappearing at some point. Fans didn’t get to see their characters interact with Topher Grace’s Eric, Laura Prepon’s Donna or Wilmer Valderrama’s Fez. So the door is definitely open for a true-blue reunion between the group, though we’ll just have to wait and see if the producers actually make such plans. Here’s hoping Kunis (should she want to return) can convince Kutcher to sign on again should the opportunity present itself.

Life has a way of imitating art unexpectedly sometimes. Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis made all That 70s Show fans’ dreams come true when they started dating and got married. However, their relationship didn’t start romantic as the couple was just friends with benefits initially. Of course, they have admitted multiple times to the detached origins of their relationship, and have talked about filming competing movies about friends with benefits – Kunis in Friends with Benefits and Kutcher in No String Attached. Now, after being married for a few years, the Your Place or Mine star spoke about the irony of the married duo being similarly themed movies while experiencing the same situation.

The ironic scenario came up as the Dude, Where’s My Car? star reviewed his career-defining moments with Vanity Fair. As he watched a clip from the 2011 film No Strings Attached, Kutcher mentioned the quirky and interesting film script that drew him to the project. He also couldn’t help but look at the romantic comedy and think about his situation with his wife mirroring the film’s plotline. He said:

At the time they were working on their respective movies, Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis were just former co-workers from That 70s Show due who never had romantic feelings toward each other partially because of their age difference. Both similar-themed rom-coms were released in 2011 to commercial success and mixed response from critics. Kutcher starred opposite Oscar winner Natalie Portman, while Kunis co-starred with Justin Timberlake. 

Then a year after their respective friends with benefits-based movies were released, they reconnected at a house party the actor was throwing. The rest is history, as the couple eventually became more than just friends, and they ended up getting married and now have two kids. Recently, they played a married Jackie and Kelso in the Netflix sequel series That 90s Show, much to Kunis' chagrin, showing how much they've evolved since their first time on screen together. 

Kutcher faced the irony of his relationship again in his trip down memory lane. He conveniently watched a clip from the classic Fox sitcom featuring him and his wife as Kelso and Jackie. Looking at the interaction made him worry about how confused their kids will be when they are the right age to watch the teen sitcom. He wondered how the couple will differentiate “what was real and what wasn’t real” from the show. The Butterfly Effect star revealed he was “terrified” about the explanation they must give someday about That '70s Show, however, I'd be more worried about having to explain what friends with benefits are to kids if I were them.

Fans of Fox’s hit sitcom That ‘70s Show were reunited with the Point Place gang and met some new faces in Netflix’s sequel series That ‘90s Show. With the majority of the cast returning, whether it be just for a cameo or for the full season, the series hit people with some major nostalgia. One of the most anticipated, and for a while, unknown, returns was Ashton Kutcher as Michael Kelso. But to him, it was a no-brainer to return to his roots.

When the cast of a show or movie stays in touch after the project ends it goes to show just how close they got while filming, this seems to be true for the crew of That ‘70s Show. There was a Point Place reunion of sorts on Ashton Kutcher’s Netflix series The Ranch when Debra Jo Rupp and Kurtwood Smith were both brought on for recurring roles. Now, following Kutcher's exciting cameo on the '70s Show spinoff, the Your Place or Mine cast member told Us Magazine the sweet reason why he decided to reprise Kelso for That ‘90s Show, and Smith and Rupp had something to do with it:

It’s definitely sweet that Ashton Kutcher wanted to be back with everyone when given the chance. It likely helped that he got to work with Debra Jo Rupp and Kurtwood Smith on The Ranch again, which probably reminded him about all the good times he had on That ‘70s Show. The spinoff also allowed him to work with Mila Kunis again, which was likely less awkward this time this time around since they’re actually married. 

After That ‘90s Show was announced, it was hard to predict who would or wouldn’t return to Point Place, especially since a lot of the cast are busy with other projects. Kutcher updated fans on That ‘90s Show last summer after it was revealed he and Mila Kunis would be reprising their beloved roles as Kelso and Jackie. He was as excited as ever, mentioning that the two of them are only in the position they’re in because of the Fox hit. Even though it was only for one episode, it was better than nothing, and it felt like nothing had changed when Kelso came into the Formans’ kitchen yelling, “Burn!”

Meanwhile, fans will have more chances to see their Point Place favorites since That ‘90s Show scored an early renewal from Netflix. It’s unknown how much we’ll see the original gang in Season 2, but hopefully they will. In my opinion, it seems like they all had a blast reprising their roles, so it won’t be surprising if they want to do it again. Though fingers crossed they’re on screen more and interact with each other.

Romantic comedies are a tried and true genre in the film world, which seems to be having a moment right now thanks to the release of projects like Ticket to Paradise and Shotgun Wedding. Next up is Netflix's Your Place or Mine, which stars Ashton Kutcher and Reese Witherspoon. The pair have been making a ton of headlines lately thanks to their seemingly awkward red carpet photos. And now Kutcher claims he posed awkwardly in order to avoid any rumors about an affair with his co-star. Let's break it all down.

Ahead of Your Place or Mine's release on Netflix, Ashton Kutcher and Reese Witherspoon have been doing a press tour. During that time they've posed for a number of photos, going viral in the process for seemingly being uncomfortable around each other... so much so that Kutcher's wife Mila Kunis called them out about it. But he recently appeared on the Chicks in the Office podcast, where he offered his perspective by saying:

Well, there you have it. It looks like Ashton Kutcher felt like he was damned either way, regarding just how affectionate he was with Reese Witherspoon while promoting Your Place or Mine. Given that the project is a romantic comedy, folks might expect the pair of A-listers to be more chummy while on the red carpet. But Kutcher didn't want any salacious rumors about his collaboration with the Oscar winner to circulate. 

Ashton Kutcher's comments from Chicks in the Office offer a perspective on the reality of fame. While on the podcast he shared how largely disinterested he is in pop culture, including various viral moments he's had over the years. Kutcher seems to think that there was going to be coverage of his interactions with Reese Witherspoon either way, and doesn't feel the need to prove his close friendship with his Your Place or Mine co-star. 

As previously mentioned, Ashton Kutcher has had a number of viral moments lately, including those photos with Reese Witherspoon. He recently revealed that he was at a karaoke bar and didn't realize that he was actually watching Grammy winning pop star Harry Styles. Then there was the discourse about how often he and Mila Kunis bathe their children. Being famous is weird.

If any of the cast of That ‘70s Show have the series to thank for their future, it would be Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis, as the former co-stars found their way back to each other years after the show ended, eventually getting married and sharing two kids. Now, the two are back reprising their beloved roles of Kelso and Jackie in the Netflix spinoff That ‘90s Show. However, according to Kutcher, things were much more awkward than you think for the two of them when they were filming the original series, despite them being married now.

In a new feature with Esquire, Ashton Kutcher discussed his long career, including the hit Fox sitcom That ‘70s Show and its new sequel series. Kutcher and Kunis make an appearance in the first episode of the Netflix series after Red finds out that his granddaughter just so happens to be friends with Kelso’s son. Throw in a “Burn!” and a “Damn, Jackie!” and it was almost like nothing had changed. Being married to Kunis now as opposed to just being friends way back when, Kutcher reflected on the experiences and the different perspective he had when filming the two shows because of his relationship with his wife:

Just like the rest of the series, Kutcher and Kunis’ return was as nostalgic as ever, even if it was for just a single scene. Not to mention, the scene also involved Jackie talking about them getting remarried (after Jackie and Kelso got back together for what seems like the thousandth time), and since the two actors are actually married, it really makes you think about how much has changed since That '70s Show, and how much fun they likely had while filming it.

However, the same can’t exactly be said for the filming of That ‘70s Show since Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis were much younger and not together. Kunis was actually a tad younger than the rest of her co-stars, which initially made things awkward for the pair, especially when it came to filming the romantic scenes, because as the actor explained they didn't have a romantic connection. Now being able to revisit their characters with where they are now in life, Kutcher is feeling all the more grateful:

Even though Mila Kunis did call BS on Kelso and Jackie’s fate since she didn’t exactly want them to end up together, it is nice that they did because she and Ashton Kutcher are actually married in real life and can revisit their characters in a different way. Hopefully, another season of That ‘90s Show will happen so we can get more of Jackie and Kelso, especially considering Kunis and Kutcher’s relationship IRL.

Although reviews for That ‘90s Show have been mixed, the nostalgia is still there, and it sounds like it wasn’t just for the fans. Fingers crossed that Kutcher and Kunis work together again soon because they really are the perfect scene partners, and it’s not just because they’re married.

I would come to side with the more positive reviews for That ‘90s Show overall after giving the new coming-of-age comedy a shot. However, the biggest draw of the new Netflix original series for me was seeing a reunion of the stars of That ‘70s Show — the long-running sitcom the new show is spun-off from. 

In addition to Kurtwood Smith and Debra Jo Rupp reprising their roles as Red and Kitty Forman, respectively, in the That ‘90s Show cast, some of their now A-list former co-stars — such as Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis — were kind enough to stop by Point Place, Wisconsin, for a sweet guest appearance or two. Let’s talk about what else the original That ‘70s Show cast has been up to lately.

Topher Grace (Eric Forman)

After leaving the role of Eric Forman a season early, Topher Grace pursued a film career that led to a variety of interesting roles like Eddie Brock (a.k.a. Venom) in the final, 2007 installment of Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man trilogy, David Duke in Spike Lee’s Oscar-winning, biographical cop drama, BlacKkKlansman, in 2018, and Anne Hathaway’s boyfriend in 2009’s Valentine’s Day (also starring Ashton Kutcher). 

He also, intriguingly, would make some great turns in three different sci-fi anthology series: Love, Death and Robots, Black Mirror (in arguably, the best episode of Season 5), and Jordan Peele’s Twilight Zone revival. Grace’s current day job is a new sitcom on ABC called Home Economics.

Laura Prepon (Donna Pinciotti)

Making her breakthrough as Eric’s girlfriend, Donna, was Laura Prepon, whose first major success after the sitcom was joining the Orange is the New Black cast as drug money smuggler, Alex Vause. However, before landing that Netflix hit, she did have a memorable recurring role opposite the How I Met Your Mother cast as Ted’s vile ex, Karen, and played a fictionalized version of Chelsea Handler on the short-lived NBC sitcom, Are You There, Chelsea? 

Prepon has also appeared in movies like 2016’s The Girl on the Train, and The Hero with Sam Elliott (Ashton Kutcher’s The Ranch co-star), recently continued her directing career with an episode of That ‘90s Show, and co-wrote the health and wellness book, The Stash Plan, in 2016. 

Ashton Kutcher (Michael Kelso)

While his character, Michael Kelso, was certainly not the brightest of the bunch, Ashton Kutcher would go on to prove himself as one of the more enterprising cast members with the development of successful tech-based media company A Plus, investing firms Sound Ventures and A-Grade Investments, and the anti-human trafficking organization, Thorn. 

As for his acting career, the former model played Steve Jobs in a 2013 biopic and replaced Charlie Sheen on Two and a Half Men, to name a few things. Kutcher also recently received praise for his performance in director B.J. Novak’s Vengeance in 2022, stars opposite Reese Witherspoon in the upcoming 2023 Netflix original movie, Your Place or Mine, and leant his voice to a web series called Stoner Cats, alongside another familiar face.

Mila Kunis (Jackie Burkhart)

Kutcher’s Stoner Cats co-star, Mila Kunis, rose to fame playing his onscreen love interest, Jackie Burkhart, years before — much to their former co-stars’ surprise — falling in love in real life. The Ukrainian-born actor went on to earn a Golden Globe nomination for Black Swan, tried her hand at launching a sci-fi franchise with Jupiter Ascending, did successfully lead a comedy franchise with the Bad Moms movies, and also balanced action with comedy well in The Spy Who Dumped Me. Kunis recently took another dark turn with the Netflix original drama, Luckiest Girl Alive, and is still the voice of Meg on Family Guy.

Wilmer Valderrama (Fez)

Also leading an eclectic career since That 70s Show’s final curtain call is Fez actor Wilmer Valderrama, who starred in Richard Linklater’s Fast Food Nation, played one of the main villains of the series adaptation of From Dusk Til Dawn, and voiced the title role of the animated series Handy Manny. 

He also played a cop on several TV shows — namely the short-lived Awake, Fox’s series adaptation of Minority Report, and, most notably (and currently), in the NCIS cast as Nick Torres. The Venezuelan actor also gave an impressive performance in the Blast Beat cast in 2020, had a memorable role in the Encanto voice cast, and is preparing to play Zorro in an upcoming reboot.

Debra Jo Rupp (Kitty Forman)

After she (temporarily) said goodbye to playing the ultimate ’70s-era mother, Kitty Forman, Debra Jo Rupp, would reunite with some of her co-stars with guest appearances opposite Kutcher on The Ranch and Valderrama on NCIS. She also added movies like Kickin’ it Old School and She’s Out Of My League on to her resume and would (technically) return to sitcom acting by poking fun at the genre on Disney+’s WandaVision. 

Rupp is now preparing to reprise her role from that hit on another upcoming Marvel TV show called Agatha: Coven of Chaos and, for now, it is refreshing to see her back as Kitty on That ‘90s Show.

Kurtwood Smith (Red Forman)

Also back on That ‘90s Show as Kitty’s husband, Red, is Kurtwood Smith, who was previously best known for another demanding father in Dead Poet’s Society, and as the main antagonist of one of the best ‘80s sci-fi movies, RoboCop. Like Rupp, he also went on to star in comic book adaptations — such as the animated series Beware the Batman as Commissioner Gordon — and guest-starred on The Ranch. 

More recently, he appeared alongside Amanda Seyfried on Hulu’s Elizabeth Holmes miniseries The Dropout, was in 2022’s Firestarter remake cast, and returned to the Star Trek franchise (years after playing one of Star Trek: Voyager’s best villains) by lending his voice to the animated series, Star Trek: Lower Decks.

Don Stark (Bob Pinciotti)

Another That ’70s Show cast member with ties to “the final frontier” (i.e., a Deep Space Nine episode and one of the Star Trek movies, First Contact), is Don Stark, whose best know role is, arguably, as Donna’s father, Bob. Since then, he has made guest appearances and landed recurring roles on an eclectic variety of TV hits — including Supernatural, American Horror Story, and Maron, to name a few. You could also see Stark on the big screen in the likes of Disney’s 2012 The Princess of Mars adaptation, John Carter, and the 2019 Best Picture Oscar winner, Green Book.

Tommy Chong (Leo)

The only series regular in the cast who actually rose to fame in the ‘70s was Tommy Chong, who was perfectly cast as aging hippie, Leo. His popularity has, arguably, skyrocketed ever since, as has the variety on his resume, which includes hit animated movies like Zootopia as Jax and one of the best horror movies on Shudder, 2019’s Color out of Space. The Canadian legend has also been known to reunite with his old comedy partner, Cheech Marin, on various projects, including their own brand of cannabis, unsurprisingly. 

It was so refreshing to see the actors above coming back together again for yet another nostalgia-fueled sitcom. However, missing from That ‘90s Show and our list, as you may have noticed, are Hyde actor Danny Masterson —  who is currently facing sexual assault charges — Josh Meyers (Seth’s younger brother), who joined the That ‘70s Show cast in the show’s least favored season as Eric’s replacement, Randy Peterson, and the late Lisa Robin Kelly (as Eric’s older sister, Laurie) and Tanya Roberts (as Donna’s mother, Midge), who are deeply missed.

Some minor spoilers for Netflix’s That ‘90s Show can be found throughout this article. Minor though. 

By now, whether or not you’ve actually sat down to watch Netflix’s popular That ‘90s Show spinoff, you probably have already heard the series did the ‘ol relationship switcheroo. At the end of That ‘70s Show Jackie and Fez had been a thing, but by the time the new episodes pick up, Jackie is back with Kelso and they have a kid together. Most fans seem to love this. Mila Kunis is not most fans.

How That ‘70s Show Fans Feel About That ‘90s Show’s Twist 

As fans caught up with That‘ 90s Show one of the major topics of conversations online had to do with not loving the way Jackie and Fez had ended up in the original series. On the other hand, the new version seemingly fixes that twist.

Another fan noted Jackie was already seemingly close to leaving Fez (and was definitely thinking about Kelso) toward the end of the show. This scene is running around again hinting at this outcome, with Jackie and Kelso exchanging a quick smile. 

People are also loving the kid the new series hired to play Michael and Jackie’s offspring. I mean, he really does look like a solid mix of the two of them, and kudos to the casting and styling teams.

While there’s a lot of love for the returns of Jackie, Kelso and other members of the gang, some former fans are feeling like we need way more backstory! 

How Mila Kunis Feels About The Changes That '90s Show Made

While Fez does appear in Season 1 of That 90s Show, he’s not there as Jackie’s love interest. There’s one person who doesn’t think  that’s fair:  Jackie herself. While her real-life partner Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis herself were pumped to return and film the spinoff, the storyline was maybe not what she would have expected. Kunis, in fact, called “bs” on the entire situation on Netflix, telling Access Hollywood: 

The fans hearts want what the fans hearts want. Honestly, though, the issues with what has transpired on the Netflix show do extend further than just Kunis' personal feelings. Her feelings don't stem solely from Jackie dating Fez at the end of the series. There is also the entire Kelso plotline that was a main component of the original series toward its end. Kelso married and had a baby with a character named Brooke in the latter part of the series. 

That ‘90s Show doesn’t even mention their daughter Betsy (another facet fans have commented on), particularly given the young kids in the new series would be around the same age. Or as Mila Kunis rightly noted: 

The timeline is a little suspect, but hopefully the show will get the opportunity to explore what happened further if That '90s Show gets a Season 2. (I'm certainly interested to learn more given some of the ideas That '90s Show creators have bandied about.) Besides, the world always feels like it's in its natural order when Red's out there, threatening his foot in peoples' asses.  

By the time That ‘70s Show final episode aired in 2006, Mila Kunis’ Jackie Burkhart had been romantically tied with all the males in her friend group aside from Topher Grace’s Eric Foreman. First she and Ashton Kutcher’s Michael Kelso were a thing, then she dated Danny Masterson’s Steven Hyde for a while, and at the end of eighth and final season, she and Wilmer Valderrama were together. It looked like those two kids had a bright future ahead of them, but as was teased in the That ‘90s Show trailer, those two weren’t seen together at all in this Netflix original series.

Alas, it turns out that Jackie and Fez didn’t last, with the former instead ending back up with Michael Kelso post-That ‘70s Show, an even more amusing pairing these days given that Mila Kunis and Ashton Kutcher are married in real life. So what happened in the 15 years between That ‘70s Show’s conclusion and That ‘90s Show’s beginning that led to Jackie and Kelso getting back together? That’s what we’re here to go over.

Warning: SPOILERS for That ‘90s Show Season 1 are ahead!

Kelso Is The Reason Jackie And Fez Broke Up

In the episode “Lip Smackers,” the first full That ‘90s Show episode to feature Fez following his cameo at the end of “Free Leia,” Debra Jo Rupp’s Kitty Forman stops by Fez’s salon, Chez Fez, to see if she can break up with him on behalf of her neighbor, Andrea Anders’ Sherri Runck. During the conversation, Fez recollects how his and Jackie’s relationship ended, revealing that the split happened shortly after That ‘70s Show ended, i.e. around 1980.

While Jackie and Fez were vacationing in Jamaica, the former found the latter talking on the phone with Kelso, and she then went back home to reunite with her ex-boyfriend. Fez stayed at the Jamaican resort five more days to get over his heartbreak. Cut to 1995, Fez is doing well for himself running Chez Fez, which has turned him into a minor celebrity in Point Place, Wisconsin, and he’s obviously been enjoying his time with Sherri (although Red succeeds in splitting Fez and Sherri up, they’re back together by the time of this Netflix show’s finale, “Kids and America”). Nevertheless, it’s clear that Fez is still hurt from his breakup with Jackie a decade and a half later.

Kelso And Jackie Still Don’t Have A Stable Relationship

So Fez and Jackie weren’t meant to be, but how is Jackie doing with Kelso these days? After all, if she was willing to get in touch with him so soon after she and Fez got together, then surely she must have realized that he was the one she wanted to spend the rest of her life with, right? Perhaps at the time, yes, but in the long run, history has continued to repeat itself with these two.

At the end of That ‘90s Show’s first episode, “That ‘90s Pilot,” right after Mace Coronel’s Jay reveals that his last name is Kelso to Red, Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis’ characters show up, with Michael Kelso propping up his son and poking some fun at Red’s expense at Jay and Leia spending time together. But here’s the weird part: Michael Kelso and Jackie Burkhart’s visit to the Forman kitchen is just a stop on their way to getting married… again... for the second time. That’s right, this will be their third wedding (although Jackie is wearing white to convince people it’s their first time so they get better gifts), but they’re sure this will be the one to stick. Their confidence isn’t reassuring when they’re fine with their son hanging out with his friends at the lake instead of coming to the wedding.

While Mila Kunis “called BS” on Jackie ending back up with Kelso rather than sticking with Fez, perhaps the That ‘90s Show writers decided on this coupling since she and Ashton Kutcher are married, and thus it was easier to get them together on set rather than coordinate Kunis and Wilder Valderrama’s schedules. Whatever the reason, Kutcher and Kunis only appear in That ‘90s Show’s first episode, but Netflix subscribers can watch the entirety of Season 1 now to see what other familiar That ‘70s Show faces pop in. Beverly Hill, 90210 fans will also get a kick out of the sixth episode, “The Birthday Girl,” which has one of the teen drama’s original stars appearing.

Nostalgia has been the inspiration for plenty of series over the years, with networks bringing back characters from some of our childhood shows and introducing younger protagonists to appeal to new generations. Netflix's That ‘90s Show is the latest of these spinoffs — joining the likes of Fuller House, Girl Meets World and How I Met Your Father — as it introduces Leia Forman (Callie Haverda), daughter to That ‘70s Show's central couple Eric and Donna, along with a new group of teens primed to take over Red and Kitty’s Wisconsin basement. The reviews are here to tell us whether they‘re able to capture that same magic in a different decade.

The series is set in 1995, 20 years after the original, with Debra Jo Rupp and Kurtwood Smith returning as Kitty and Red to welcome their granddaughter Leia to their house for the summer. That ‘90s Show blends the old with the new, as fans are also introduced to Jay Kelso (Mace Coronel), son of Jackie and Kelso from the OG series, and others, while Topher Grace, Laura Prepon, Mila Kunis, Ashton Kutcher, Wilmer Valderrama and more make guest appearances as their famed characters. (Danny Masterson does not reprise his role.) Let’s see what the critics have to say about the series.

Laura Sirikul of IGN rates the Netflix series a “Good” 7 out of 10, saying That ‘90s Show hits all the right nostalgia points, but focuses too heavily on the original cast, rather than developing the new faces. The critic says: 

Angie Han of THR says the spinoff brings back a number of old tricks from its predecessor, including the multicam format, laugh track and 22-minute runtime. It also calls back to that same laid-back humor and, of course, the smoke circle. From this review: 

Kelly Lawler of USA TODAY, however, isn’t quite as charmed by the update, rating That ‘90s Show 1.5 stars out of 4. The critic says the new characters don’t capture the same lightning in a bottle as the OG cast, and along with the bad writing and lackluster attempt at recreating the 1990s, this series is a chore to watch. The review continues: 

Miles Surrey of The Ringer says the 10-episode first season suffers from a lack of imagination, with many of the new characters simply mirroring those from That ‘70s Show. However, the potential is there for something better, the critic opines, and Reyn Doi as Ozzie is a bright spot of the series. According to the review: 

Dave Lemetz of TV Line isn’t sure who That ‘90s Show is geared toward, with the OG cast being more relegated to the background (and some of the actors not putting in much effort). Younger audiences, meanwhile, also aren’t likely to latch on to the series that is “half tired nostalgia tour and half mediocre retread.” The critic gives it a D+, saying: 

While many of the critics aren’t throwing their full-fledged support behind the project, which is available for streaming now with a Netflix subscription, That ‘90s Show has compiled a better-than-average 72% Fresh rating from 18 critics on Rotten Tomatoes, with the Audience Score even a little higher, with 78% as of this writing.

It’s almost time to return to Point Place, Wisconsin, as fans of That ‘70s Show are preparing for the next generation in That ‘90s Show. If if not for the Fox series, it’s entirely possible that now-married stars Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis never would have connected so early in their careers and come back to one another years later. Apparently, however, Debra Jo Rupp – a.k.a. Kitty Forman herself – didn’t always think Jackie and Kelso would really end up together in real life.

While on the red carpet for That ‘90s Show, Debra Jo Rupp spoke to E! News about her co-stars. When asked if she ever thought back in the original run of the series that her co-stars would end up married in real life, she had a quick answer: "No." She did go on to say that she thinks the couple are "the two most beautiful people in the universe." Fast forward a couple of decades from when she witnessed them on That '70s Show together, and Kutcher and Kunis have been married since 2015 and have two kids together.

Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis are just two of the returning cast for That ‘90s Show, and a recent That ‘90s Show trailer filled to the brim with nostalgia got everyone talking. Rupp mentioned how great it was to see them get back into their old roles, and it was as if nothing had changed:

Even though Mila Kunis called BS on having Jackie and Kelso end up together on That ‘90s Show despite the fact That ‘70s Show ended with her and Fez, it sounds like they quickly got back into their groove for the upcoming Netflix series. With the on-again, off-again couple being married and Kunis and Ashton Kutcher being married in real life, it likely wasn’t that hard to keep the chemistry going. 

When That ‘90s Show was initially announced, it was a question of whether or not more original stars would return to Point Place, and Netflix definitely delivered. Ashton Kutcher previously opened up about returning with Kunis, having discussed how their careers took off because of That ‘70s Show. It’s undoubtedly going to be nostalgic and emotional for fans to see them again as Kelso and Jackie.

Meanwhile, Kutcher and Kunis’ return to Point Place marks the first time in a long time that the couple has acted together, aside from commercials. In 2018, the Bad Moms star revealed she had no plans to act alongside her hubby, admitting it’d be too weird. Luckily she changed that opinion, even if she doesn't fully support their characters' relationship. Hopefully, they will start acting together more because I have seriously missed seeing them on screen together.

It's not that uncommon for celebrities to have a fellow celebrity doppelganger. Some of them even embrace it. As a matter of fact, according to Perry, she used to pretend to be Deschanel to hit the clubs. Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe says he loves when fans mistake him for Lord of the Rings' Elijah Wood and yell at him from moving vehicles. Well, the latest star to be mistaken for another celeb is That 70's Show alum Mila Kunis. See for yourself as The Spy Who Dumped Me actress has the perfect response to being mistaken for Megan Fox.

The Black Swan actress signed autographs for fans after an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! In the video on ET, one fan can be seen holding out a poster for the cult horror classic Jennifer's Body before having Kunis correct them in the most endearing of ways. She tells the excited fan that she isn't Fox but that she is flattered to be mistaken for her. You can see the video embedded below. 

You have to give it to Mila Kunis. She's a real class act. Instead of embarrassing the fan for their mistake --honestly, given the face mask the actress is wearing, a reasonable mistake -- she takes the time to share her admiration for the Good Mourning actress.  

Funny enough, this isn't the first time Mila Kunis has been part of a case of "mistaken celebrity identity." Last year, while on the red carpet for the Golden Globes, Modern Family actress Sarah Hyland was mistaken for the Jupiter Ascending star. The young actress recounted the story in detail on the Kelly Clarkson Show, saying she often gets mistaken for Kunis, "loves it," and even "takes it as a compliment." 

While Mila Kunis hasn't announced any upcoming movies, the actress's most recent project, The Luckiest Girl Alive, enjoyed a number one position on Netflix's Top 10 Movies in the U.S. for several weeks last fall. Fans will soon get a chance to see her return to her star-making role as Jackie Burkhart, alongside her real-life husband and That '70s Show castmate Ashton Kutcher (as well as many other returning vets) for Netflix's sequel series That '90s Show.

There is no word on how Megan Fox feels about the mix-up. But most celebs are relatively cool with celebrity lookalikes and often have a bit of fun with their doppelgängers. Now, all we need is a Kunis and Fox team-up movie! How about a reboot and gender swap of the Arnold Schwarzenegger and Danny Devito comedy vehicle Twins? That's a free idea, Hollywood. I don't even need a credit. 

Even though streaming didn’t exist in the 1990s, everyone with a Netflix subscription will get to go back to that snazzy boom-bazzy decade to visit the Forman family in That ‘90s Show. The upcoming sitcom released its full-length trailer after having given fans a taste of what those hangouts will feel like — answer: like Red’s foot up our ass — and offered up a first look at nearly the full ensemble of returning That ‘70s Show stars. (At least those who entered the picture before the final season.) And in that respect, we learned a bit about what’s to come for Wilmer Valderrama’s Fez, while a big detail was revealed for Ashton Kutcher’s Kelso and Mila Kunis’ Jackie.

For those who weren’t able to check out the trailer above, let’s run through some of those first looks, starting with Topher Grace’s Eric and Laura Prepon’s Donna sitting in quite the familiar location.

Seeing Fez in his current glory makes Valderrama's butt-shake revival celebraton all the more understandable. Not that it wasn't understandable before, since what is Fez going to do with his butt except shake it?

And now here's Ashton Kutcher's Kelso all dressed up and not wearing his tie upside-down or anything, next to Mila Kunis' Jackie, who presumably didn't tie Kelso's tie for him. 

Mila Kunis has shared that she felt a little skeptical upon finding out where Kelso and Jackie landed in the years between the flagship series’ conclusion and the start of That ‘90s Show’s narrative. Not only did she believe she’d end up with Fez — which perhaps speaks to why he looks as good as she does, while Kelso looks like he sells door-to-door encyclopedias — but she brought up how Kelso was already married to a wholly different character in the previous narrative. It’s unclear how that will be addressed, but it should be fun, especially if Shannon Elizabeth also makes a cameo.

Okay, now it's time for a SMOKE BOMB ALERT! Um, wait, I mean: BOMBSHELL ALERT: For those who didn't already have sneaking suspicions, Netflix paired the trailer release with the reveal that Mace Coronel's Jay is a Kelso, as he's the son of Kutcher and Kunis' doofuses. That's the bloodline that just keeps on giving.

To be sure, it was already known that Jackie and Kelso brought life into this world together, though it wasn't confirmed before now that their kiddo was part of the main group. But after watching him in the trailer, particularly during the basement-blazing, it seems like he couldn't have been cast as anyone but Kelso and Jackie's offspring.

The trailer also featured a peek at what'll likely be a s-weed-t return from Tommy Chong's Leo, as well as new adult character Sherri (Andrea Anders), the mother to Maxwell Donovan's jock-esque Nate and Ashley Aufderheide's rebel Gwen.

Ashton Kutcher has unfortunately experienced a few health scares over the years One of those instances saw him he end up in the hospital with pancreatitis while preparing to play Steve Jobs. That was around 2013 and, during the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, he had another medical situation that ended up changing his life in a significant way. Kutcher is now speaking about that “life-threatening” scare he faced and how his wife, Mila Kunis, provided him with love and support.

In November 2019, Ashton Kutcher was privately diagnosed with a rare form of vasculitis and, as a result of the condition, he lost his vision and hearing during the course of that year. Via Twitter, CBS News shared a snippet of the interview that the actor participated in on The Checkup with Dr. David Agus. During the chat, he talked about when he first started experiencing those scary symptoms:

I can’t even imagine how frightening it would be to wake up one morning and hardly be able to see or hear anything. Vasculitis deals with the inflammation of the blood vessels. If blood flow is restricted, it can lead to organ and tissue damage. This condition can either be short-term or long-lasting. Needless to say, one can completely understand why the star was afraid that the loss of his vital senses as well as his ability to walk would be permanent. However, this scary situation did help him to put his life into perspective, as he was truly able to appreciate the time that he has with his two young kids. 

Of course, when you’re married to the love of your life, your pain becomes their pain. In sickness and in health, Ashton Kutcher’s wife, Mila Kunis, has been there through it all as acknowledged by Dr. Agus:

Mila Kunis and Ashton Kutcher have a sweet love story. They first met on the set of That’s 70s Show, on which they played young couple Kelso and Jackie. Despite their exchanges of awkward kisses over the course of the show, they didn't actually hook up while making the sitcom. Eventually, the two were in long-term relationships with other people, and both ended in 2011. It was during the first half of 2012 that their friends-with-benefits relationship turned into something much more serious. Oh, how art imitates life! Kutcher and Kunis have been married for the past seven years with two kids and now seem more united than ever.

Ashton Kutcher referenced his wife in a very sweet way during the interview. While his comments were brief, they effectively sum up his feelings for her:

Their personal lives aside, the two remain booked and busy in Hollywood. Despite Mila Kunis expressing no interest in acting with her husband ever again, they’ll be guest starring on the Netflix spinoff series That ‘90s Show. Kunis has since revealed that their '70s Show characters end up together. That's a pretty weird development since Jackie ended up with Fez by the series' end (and Kunis herself noted that). But it'll be nice to see the two characters as a married couple.

All in all, it appears that Ashton Kutcher is doing a lot better these days, thanks to support from Mila Kunis and good medical care. Dr. Agus note in the episode that Kutcher's eyesight and hearing are now “very close to normal.” Also, the NY Times reported tat Kutcher did have the fourth fastest finishing time out of this year’s famous runners when he ran the New York City Marathon last month. He's clearly healthy and, considering his unfortunate medical ordeal, that's great to know.

Every once in a while, I will think of a well-known actor, take a look at the versatility of their long and successful career, and then be forced to ask the question, “Why have we not seen this person in any new Marvel movies yet?” Take, for example, the lead of Netflix’s dark 2022 thriller Luckiest Girl Alive, Mila Kunis, who has done everything from sitcoms — she was Jackie Burkhart in the That ‘70s Show cast and is still the voice of Meg Griffin on Family Guy — to intense action thrillers like the Mark Wahlberg-led adaptation of the hit video game series, Max Payne. So, is there a chance that any upcoming superhero movies might become included in her diverse repertoire?

Well, the actor did once say, when speaking to MTV UK, that she would be interested in doing a comic book movie on the condition that her The Spy Who Dumped Me co-star, Kate McKinnon, would also be a part of the cast. Perhaps we will imagine what Marvel characters the former Saturday Night Live star would be perfect to play at another time, but for now, I would like to focus on the characters ripped from the pages of Marvel comics that Kunis seems like a great fit for on the big (or even small) screen. Let’s start with one that could give her the opportunity to reunite with a co-star from another recent comedy.

Spider-Woman

Actually, while we are still on the subject of The Spy Who Dumped Me, if fans of the 2018 action-comedy will recall, Mila Kunis’ character, Audrey, and Kate McKinnon’s role, Morgan Freeman, do end up assuming careers in espionage. If Kunis were ever interested in doing a more earnest portrayal of the profession, one of the most beloved characters in Marvel Comics who also happens to be a spy is Jessica Drew, who is better known as Spider-Woman for her wall-crawling, venom blasts, and other arachnid-like abilities.

Drew also happens to be a member of an all-female superhero team known as the Daughters of Liberty, along with none other than Agatha Harkness. The powerful witch made her Marvel Cinematic Universe debut as played by WandaVision cast member Kathryn Hahn, who previously worked with Kunis in 2016’s Bad Moms and its sequel, A Bad Mom’s Christmas, from the following year. If the MCU were to create their own iteration of the Daughters of Liberty that included Hahn’s Agatha alongside Kunis as Spider-Woman, that would be one hell of a reunion.

Morgan Le Fay

Actually, while we are still on the subject of Kathryn Hahn’s Agatha Harkness (who will return in her own upcoming Marvel TV show for Disney+ called Agatha: Coven of Chaos), I wonder if Kunis watched her Bad Moms co-star on WandaVision, noticed how fun her Emmy-nominated portrayal of one of Marvel’s most powerful witches must have been, and thought it might be to fun to play a witch herself again. The last time she did was in director Sam Raimi’s The Wizard of Oz prequel from 2013, Oz the Great and Powerful, as a younger version of Theodora — better known as the Wicked Witch of the West. 

If playing yet another magic wielder was to be on Kunis’ bucket list, why not also check off another box at the same time and make it her Marvel movie debut? Better yet, why not embody one of Marvel’s most immensely powerful and ruthlessly evil sorcerers, Morgan Le Fay. We already have received clues from one of the the post-credit scenes from Eternals that the villain (who is based on Arthurian legend) might be coming the MCU soon and having an actor as talented and experienced as Kunis in the role would make the debut an extra-special treat.

Majestrix Lilandra

Another one of Mila Kunis’ most famous (or, perhaps more accurately, infamous) roles is the title character of Jupiter Ascending — a young house cleaner for hire who discovers she is the heir to an intergalactic dynasty. If the actor were ever interested in a second chance at playing someone of royal, extra-terrestrial descent following Lilly and Lana Wachowski’s critically reviled box office bomb from 2015, there is such a character that exists in Marvel Comics.

Also known as Majestrix Lilandra, Lilandra Neramani is a princess from the royal family of the Shi’ar Empire who has been known to take matters of justice into her own hands with her superhuman abilities, such as your typical strength and stamina, as well as telepathy. To see Kunis play this royal, intergalactic warrior would be a true ascent, indeed.

Deathbird

On the other hand, what if, instead of playing an heroic extra-terrestrial royal figure from the Marvel Comics universe, the actor decided she would be more interested in playing the darker side of that world (such as when she played Theodora in Oz the Great and Powerful)? The perfect answer to this would be to cast her not as Lilandra Neramani, but as her older sister, Cal'syee Neramani.

Also known as Deathbird, this clawed and winged woman was the natural heir to the Shi’ar throne, but after fits of rage drove her to murder her mother, she was stripped of her royal merits and forced into exile. She has since made several nefarious attempts to reclaim the throne, which often puts her in opposition of the X-Men. To see the rivalry between Deathbird and her younger sister — no matter which role Kunis is playing — sounds like a great idea for the next X-Men movie, as far as I am concerned.

Dead Girl

Actually, on that note, what if, instead of an X-Men villain, she would rather make her MCU debut as a member of the X-Men… or, perhaps even, a member of a team that is adjacent to the X-Men? For that, I had in mind the role of Moonbeam — an aspiring actor whose mutant abilities of communicating with lingering spirits, manifesting severed limbs, or eternal life kicked in when she was murdered.

She would go on to join the X-Force team as Dead Girl, who I think would be a fun addition to the team on the big screen if we ever do see an official X-Force movie in the future. The main reason I thought of Kunis as a good fit for the role, more than anything, is that I think she bears a slight resemblance to the character.

As far as I am concerned, we do not need a reason to want to cast someone as talented and versatile as Mila Kunis as any of these Marvel characters. In fact, I would also love to see her appear in any upcoming DC movies — an idea that also has endless possibilities. All Hollywood has to do is convince Kate McKinnon to do a comic book movie, and we are golden.

Academy Awards winners and snubs this year have largely been overshadowed by a moment in which Will Smith slapped Chris Rock over a joke he’d made about Jada Pinkett Smith. He went on to win the Best Actor award, taking an emotional stance during his King Richard-oriented speech. People stood and clapped for the actor at its conclusion, yet for Mila Kunis, the moment felt a bit “insane.” 

A large swath of people applauded Will Smith just a short time after the slapcident, but Mila Kunis, who was attending with her husband and former That ‘70s Show co-star Ashton Kutcher, said they both decided to sit after the moment with Chris Rock had played out onstage. She explained to C Magazine why she made that decision, and she says she was thinking about her own kids and what would happen if that was the example she’d set. 

A lot of celebrities have spoken out about being in the Oscars audience when the moment took place. Dame Judi Dench shared the “surprise” many of the A-listers and others in the audience felt when the incident occurred. At first, a lot of people thought it was a bit. Frequent awards host Ricky Gervais was surprised such a "tame" joke led to the upheaval it did. Some, like Wanda Sykes, recognized the significance of what happened in the moment, noting she felt it reflects where society is in regards to "civility."  

Later, comedians like Steve Harvey had jokes about the slapcident. Even Chris Rock has bluntly mentioned what happened, but though Will Smith himself has apologized and spoken about what happened the comedian allegedly hasn't been "ready to talk" yet. 

Smith has previously spoken about being "fogged out" after the incident and not knowing how it would come across. He's certainly had months to think about what happened, as he stepped down from the Academy and had numerous projects paused. Only now, months later, is his long-awaited Emancipation movie finally getting a first trailer and some traction over at Apple TV+.

For Mila Kunis, it seems she was most concerned about doing what she felt was "right." In the past, she and Ashton Kutcher have spoken out about causes they believe in. They helped raise over $30 million dollars for Ukrainian refugees. Kutcher has also been a big advocate of shaping the future through space travel and investing in Silicon Valley. They kind of do their own thing within this celebrity world they travel in and I suppose it shouldn't be a surprise that during the 2022 Academy Awards they stuck to their guns as well.

Mila Kunis has had quite the career with films spanning across all genres. One of her most memorable was her supporting role as Jason Segel’s love interest in the comedy hit Forgetting Sarah Marshall. The film is hysterical and it was considered a breakthrough performance for Kunis, who later starred in a slew of successful comedy films. The film famously shot at a hotel resort in Hawaii, and apparently the Bad Moms actress got up to a lot of high jinks while at the resort. Recently she disclosed that a particular incident got her in a lot of trouble on set.

In a recent interview with Vanity Fair, the actress broke down some of her iconic roles, including the part she played in Forgetting Sarah Marshall. She had a blast filming the movie with its iconic ensemble cast, however, she once did something that put her in Jeopardy of being kicked off of the resort they were filming at. Kunis revealed:

Thank goodness the hotel didn’t kick Kunis out. We would’ve been robbed of a great performance in one of the best romantic comedies of all time. She clearly had a good reason for making the decision she did, and wanted to support the serviceman in the small way she could. Unfortunately, the hotel did not see it the same way Kunis did, and it put her in jeopardy of potentially being fired from production. Good thing it didn’t, and we now just have a funny story to look back on. 

Forgetting Sarah Marshall was released in 2008, and is a memorable favorite for many fans and critics who love the film. It is about Peter (Jason Segel) who is recently dumped by his girlfriend, Sarah Marshall (Kristen Bell), while Peter is naked. The moment is humiliating, and he decides to take a solo trip to Hawaii to clear his head. On the trip, he unfortunately runs into his ex-girlfriend who is vacationing with her new boyfriend (Russell Brand). The film famously pushed boundaries with the MPAA and launched the careers of actors like Bill Hader, Jonah Hill, and of course, Mila Kunis. 

I’m glad Kunis has fond memories of working on the comedy classic, even if some of those memories got her in trouble. While she continued to make comedies like Ted and Friends with Benefits, her new project takes a dramatic turn. Kunis stars alongside Connie Britton in Luckiest Girl Alive. The Black Swan actress plays Ani, who faces a traumatic incident that unravels her life. While tonally this film is certainly darker than Forgetting Sarah Marshall, I hope Kunis had just as much fun working on this project, and I can’t wait to check it out.

Netflix’s That ‘90s Show is set to introduce a new generation of viewers to the fictional Point Place, Wisconsin, though the spinoff should also draw in fans of That ‘70s Show as well. This is partly due to the fact that the show will feature appearances from a number of the parent show’s stars, including Mila Kunis and Ashton Kutcher. Up to this point, the real-life married couple – who played high school sweethearts Jackie Burkhart and Michael Kelso - hadn’t spilled too much about the fates of their characters. But that’s all changed, as Kunis has now dished on their statuses during the events of the new show. And apparently, the actress initially “called BS” when she learned about it.

Mila Kunis has shown to have a considerable amount of love for the characters that she and her husband played on the classic Fox sitcom. She also seems to be more than aware of how Jackie and Kelso’s relationship played out over the course of That ‘70s Show’s eight seasons. So when she revealed that the pair will actually be married by the time fans see them in the spinoff/sequel series, Kunis also revealed that the development left her a bit surprised:

As the Ted alum so astutely pointed out to Access Hollywood, Jackie was in a relationship with Wilmer Valderrama’s Fez by the tail end of Season 8. And while Kelso wasn’t actually married to Shannon Elizabeth’s Brooke, they did have a child together. The character also moved to Chicago to take a job and be closer to his and Brooke’s daughter, Betsy. With all of this in mind, it is surprising to hear that Kelso and Jackie end up together and with a child of their own. 

This reveal makes one wonder whether the show will make any other retroactive changes to That ‘70s Show’s continuity. After all, there have been cases where TV follow-ups have ignored certain events of their predecessors. More recently, this has been the case with ABC’s The Conners, a spinoff of Roseanne and its 2018 revival. So in the case of ‘70s Show, one has to wonder if developments like Eric’s trip to Africa during Season 8 will remain intact. Only time will tell.

Despite any continuity changes though, Mila Kunis seemed to have enjoyed her time on set. In the same interview, he also called the show “very cute” and expressed her belief that it pays homage to what’s come before. Ashton Kutcher had similar thoughts on That ‘90s Show, as he said that he found it to be a “random” but “fun” experience that made him nostalgic. Topher Grace also relished the “family reunion” as did his co-star (and on-screen partner) Laura Prepon. Tommy Chong, who returns as fan-favorite stoner Leo, has also discussed his return.

There’s a chance that some fans may take issue with the fact that the spinoff has altered some things. But quite frankly, let’s just be happy that we get to revisit this world and that OG stars like Mila Kunis and Ashton Kutcher are in the fold once more.

Ashton Kutcher and Natalie Portman have been friends for years. They co-starred in the romantic comedy No Strings Attached and seemingly remained friendly. Funnily enough, during the same period of time, Mila Kunis, Ashton Kutcher’s wife, made a movie with Justin Timberlake titled Friends With Benefits, which has a similar premise. While the coincidence is hilarious enough, Portman recently pointed out another strange detail from that time period. 

While Kutcher and Portman got their workout on in a new promotion for Peloton, they discussed their friendship and when they first started hanging out together.

Ashton Kutcher: I think the first time we really started hanging out is when we shot No Strings [Attached] together. 

Natalie Portman: Who would’ve thought 20 years later, we’d be on a Peloton together?

While they also joked about Kunis essentially making the same movie around the same time, Portman pointed out she also made Black Swan with Kunis, noting that during this time, Portman, Kunis and Kutcher were all making out with each other due to what was asked of them in their prospective roles. This was the exchange:

Ashton Kutcher: Wait, it’s also weird because my wife was shooting basically the same movie called Friends with Benefits.

Natalie Portman: And Mila and I had just shot Black Swan together right before. So we were all making out with each other.

This is a very funny way to put it, but Natalie Portman is right. Kutcher and Kunis began dating in 2012, a mere two years after Kunis starred alongside Portman in Black Swan. The two share a particularly steamy scene in Darren Aronofsky’s acclaimed ballet thriller, and the role won Portman her first Oscar. Shortly thereafter, Portman was Kutcher’s love interest in No Strings Attached. It is great that these two can look back and laugh at the odd coincidence during that time period, and I'm eager to hear Mila Kunis chime in on the matter. 

All three of these actors have incredible chemistry and I would love to see them co-star in a movie together. Maybe it could be about platonic friends who decide to embark on a casual relationship without feelings getting in the way. Oh wait, I think they already made that one. 

It may be a while before Natalie Portman takes on any new projects, even with old friends. She recently jumped back into the MCU, appearing in Thor: Love and Thunder this past summer, as well as having provided voice work for the What If... animated series. Many fans are already theorizing what Portman’s future could be within the MCU as new projects are announced.  However, Mila Kunis and Ashton Kutcher aren’t opposed to returning to an old stomping ground. The couple are performing in cameo roles for That '90s Show, a spin-off of That '70s Show, which they co-starred in. 

While we wait for a much needed on-screen reunion, you can stream Thor: Love and Thunder with a Disney+ subscription. That '90s Show will be coming to Netflix subscribers in the near future, and Peacock subscribers can binge all seasons of That '70s Show now. 

That ‘70s Show fans will finally have the opportunity to return to Point Place, Wisconsin, as the classic Fox sitcom is receiving a revival! That ‘90s Show (which will be streamable with a Netflix subscription), will see a new group of teens navigate the ups and downs of adolescence while also indulging in the culture of the time. However, the series will also see the OG stars, like Topher Grace, Ashton Kutcher and Laura Prepon, reprise their famous roles. While the specifics of the characters’ involvement are being kept under wraps, Kutcher recently updated fans on what it was like to return alongside co-star and wife Mila Kunis. 

Ashton Kutcher famously played the role of the dim-witted Michael Kelso, while Mila Kunis portrayed his spoiled on and off girlfriend, Jackie Burkhart. The actors were pitch-perfect in the roles, and the gigs essentially made them household names. And as Ashton Kutcher explained to Variety, that latter point is the main reason the real-life couple decided to sign on for the spinoff/continuation series: 

There’s definitely nothing wrong with returning to your roots, and I know fans are excited that the A-list couple decided to do so. Ashton Kutcher isn’t the only one that’s been getting nostalgic either, as Mila Kunis reflected on That ‘70s Show’s final episode ahead of her return. Co-star Laura Prepon also spoke about returning for ‘90s Show, even admitting that she cried on her first day back due to being filled with so much nostalgia.

That ‘90s Show centers on Leia Forman, the daughter of Eric Forman and Donna Pinciotti, who spends the summer of 1995 with grandparents Kitty and Red Forman in her parents’ hometown. While there, Leia befriends a group of eclectic teens, not unlike how her folks did years earlier. Erica and Donna’s daughter is played by Callie Haverda of Netflix’s The Lost Husband, while Debra Jo Rupp and Kurtwood Smith reprise their roles as Kitty and Red. 

In addition to Topher Grace, Laura Prepon, Mila Kunis and Ashton Kutcher, Wilmer Valderrama is also reprising his role as the lovable Fez. And even before the official announcements dropped, Leo actor Tommy Chong beat Netflix to the punch by confirming his involvement. One key star who won’t be returning, though, is Danny Masterson, who famously played Steven Hyde. At present, Masterson is facing criminal charges and awaiting trial this fall. However, Masterson did respond to the series order, sharing a message in which he praised his former co-stars.

Ashton Kutcher, Mila Kunis and the rest of the cast are indeed talented, and it’s going to be fun to see them playing these roles again. Nostalgia is a powerful thing and, if there’s an interesting concept to go along with it, I don’t mind if manages to lure stars like Kunis and Kutcher back to their old roles. 

That ‘90s Show is shaping up to be a nice marriage between bellbottoms and flannel shirts, as That ‘70s Show alums like Topher Grace, Laura Prepon, and Wilmer Valderrama are set to reprise their breakout roles. Of course, the news had fans reminiscing over the Fox sitcom and seeing everyone again after the show's altered final season. Viewers weren’t the only ones thinking about the farewell episode, either, as star Mila Kunis shared her reflective thoughts on filming the throwback show's finale ahead of her return to the Netflix sequel series.

The Bad Moms actress chose to reminisce about the sitcom’s series finale while visiting The Ellen DeGeneres Show for the talk show’s final week. The actress couldn’t help but look back to the past as she and Ellen DeGeneres recalled her frequent visits to the show. In preparing for her show’s conclusion, DeGeneres asked the actress what it was like to say goodbye to the long-running sitcom.

Ending a successful series would be an emotional affair for any actor. For Kunis, the show was more like a family to her than a job since she spent her formative teen years on the sitcom. That factor came up, as Kunis recalled the life events she experienced during the series’ run.

Growing up on television is something not very many stars have experienced, relatively speaking. Kunis’ transition to young womanhood was documented by millions of viewers weekly, and we all adore her for it. (You can still watch the actress’ progression on Amazon, though you'll have to rent or buy the digital versions, since they're not available with a Prime Video subscription at the moment.) Of course, the Fox sitcom served as the start of Kunis and husband Ashton Kutcher’s eventual relationship, including their very first kiss.

Now, the actress and her husband are returning to Wisconsin along with Grace, Valderrama, and Prepon for the sequel series. They’ll be joined by That ‘70s Show fave Tommy Chong on That ‘90s Show (even if he might get a wrist-slap from Netflix for disclosing his previously unrevealed return). Of course, Debra Jo Rupp and Kurtwood Smith were already on board as Kitty and Red Forman, who will be taking care of Eric and Donna’s daughter Leia for the summer-set series. So, it’s only a matter of time before viewers get to see what hijinks Kunis will once again get sucked into while back in Point Place.

At this time, it’s unknown when the revival will premiere on Netflix. In the meantime, you can see what new TV shows are premiering on Netflix in 2022.

Hollywood is an industry that has become synonymous with the American Dream and what would the story of the American dream be without immigrants? The United States is built on generations of people coming in from all over the world to build a country that in many ways is a combination of many cultures from outside America. The immigrant experience is a nearly universal one many Americans can relate to, but one that cannot be defined in one way. In celebration of our immigrants, we’re highlighting some famous actors’ stories, including Shang Chi star Simu Liu. 

Breaking into the movie industry is not an easy safe to crack, but these actors not only pulled it off, they’ve also used their platforms to bring light to their personal experiences as immigrants or children of immigrants. Let’s take a look: 

Simu Liu 

Okay, so Simu Liu is Canadian, but the breakout Marvel star has taken a refreshingly candid approach to speaking to his roots having Canadian-Chinese parents. This spring he’s releasing a memoir called We Were Dreamers: An Immigrant Superhero Origin Story to explore his roots ahead of starring in Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings. Liu was born in China in 1989, at a time when his parents were given the opportunity to study in America. Liu was raised by his grandparents until the age of 5, when he was brought to Canada to live with them. 

As Liu recalled in a 2017 column in Maclean’s, he long had a difficult relationship with his parents as their wishes for him were to find a stable 9-to-5 and he got fired from his accounting firm eight months in. It was then that Liu decided to pursue work in the world of movies, beginning with a minimum wage job on a Guillermo del Toro movie. After years of odd jobs, Liu found a steady TV  gig on Kim’s Convinience before nabbing the Marvel hero role. As he’s shared, his relationship with his parents, being the child of immigrants being raised in a Western world, especially where anti-Asian rhetoric can be a concern, was not always easy, but as he grew older, he realized his upbringing helped pave his path, even if it’s much different than they envisioned. 

Salma Hayek

Salma Hayek grew up in Mexico as the daughter of immigrants as well, with a Spanish mother and Lebanese father. As a young woman, Hayek quit school to pursue acting and became a telenovela star in her native country, per Biography. However, Hayek was especially ambitious and decided to move to Los Angeles to make it in Hollywood. In a 2003 guest appearance on The Oprah Winfrey Show, Hayek shared her experience: 

Hayek’s big break was in Robert Rodriguez’s Desperado alongside Antonio Banderas back in 1995 before becoming a massive Hollywood star, beginning her own production company and becoming the first Latin actress to be nominated for Best Actress at the Oscars. As Hayek recently reflected on The Drew Barrymore Show, when she was rejected early in her incredible career, she couldn’t help but be aware of the untapped market of Latinos Hollywood was ignoring at the time. Nowadays, Hayek is one of the most beloved actors of our time with a great immigrant story about going against the grain. 

Kumail Nanjiani

Another recent Marvel star and Salma Hayek’s fellow Eternals co-star Kumail Nanjiani hails originally from Karachi, Pakistan and was raised as a Muslim. After high school, Nanjiani moved to Iowa where he studied computer science and philosophy before he started doing stand-up comedy in Chicago. Being a young immigrant, Nanjiani’s comedy has often skewed toward his experience as a topic of conversation, such as this observation, per USA Today:  

Nanjiani got his big break with a role in Silicon Valley, but when he and his wife Emily Gordon adapted their love story into 2017’s critically-acclaimed The Big Sick, Nanjiani’s immigrant story was given a larger stage. Since then, Nanjiani has become an A-list star, but continues to make his roots part of his storytelling, such as with his Little America series, which can be viewed with an AppleTV+ subscription, and has become the first South Asian superhero in Eternals. 

Mila Kunis

That ‘70s Show actress Mila Kunis was born in Ukraine and then moved to United States when she was seven, in the ‘80s, after the fall of the Soviet Union. The actress once told Glamour about her family’s immigrant story: 

As Kunis shared, her parents ultimately found their way in the U.S, with her father owning cabs and her mother working her way up to be a manager at Rite-Aid. Even though they had treacherous immigration beginnings, Kunis felt like she “never missed out on anything” because they did such a “beautiful job” of not making her feel poor. These days, Kunis is an accomplished actress and wife to Ashton Kutcher, who she has two kids with. 

Diane Guerrero

Diane Guerrero was a breakout star in Netflix’s award-winning series Orange is the New Black for numerous seasons before also being part of Jane the Virgin, the DC universe for Doom Patrol and in Disney’s latest hit Encanto, as the voice of Isabela. Guerrero is a New Jersey-born American actress, but grew up as the only member in her immediate family with U.S. citizenship, her parents being immigrants from Colombia. As Guerrero shared to NPR, when she was 14 she experienced her parents getting deported. In her words: 

Diane Guerrero ended up being taken in by her friend’s family for the school year and visiting her parents in prison. She also recalls being “looked as less” as an American citizen with undocumented parents. Guerrero has used her platform to be a big advocate for immigration reform since her experience. 

Vanessa Hudgens 

Vanessa Hudgens is also an American-born actress, with her father being a native of the U.S. whereas her Filipina mother’s native country is Manila. Following the actress’ success in High School Musical, a number of Netflix holiday films and the recent Oscar-nominated movie Tick, Tick… Boom!, Hudgens has shared that she wants to make a movie about her mother’s immigration story. She said this: 

There are many forms of immigration stories and the millions of people living in America and other countries after making the difficult adjustment is an important thing for people with big platforms like these actors to continue to discuss. 

Doing a biopic can be a challenge for any actor or actress especially if the figure was adored. That seemed to be the case when Ashton Kutcher headlined the 2013 biopic Jobs. The That '70s Show alum channeled the late Apple CEO Steve Jobs’ ascension to a tech innovator. Kutcher took playing the revered tech genius seriously in many ways. Of course, his wife Mila Kunis was there to witness his preparation for the role. According to her, it wasn’t all rainbows and shine. Kunis revealed how her husband ended up in the hospital trying to become Steve Jobs.

While Jobs was poorly received by critics and audiences, Ashton Kutcher poured his all into the role. Kutcher’s preparation for the role was more of a family affair, according to Mila Kunis. After learning about the actor’s telling of his Jobs experience, his wife couldn’t help but poke holes in his story. The Bad Moms star spilled what happened to her husband while filming the biopic.

Of course, Mila Kunis gave major annoyed wife energy while recounting of the dire situation. Prepping for the role wasn’t only a demanding time for Ashton Kutcher but his family as well. Kunis seemed more frustrated by Kutcher downplaying his hospitalization. She vividly recalled those moments and how terrifying they were. At least, Kutcher was committed to becoming the late Apple CEO. Anyone who’s studied Steve Jobs knows the tech savant was a complicated figure both in life and death. So, Kutcher wanted to do his best to honor Jobs. Thankfully, the Hollywood couple’s marriage was able to survive the trying experience.

A number of stories have captured the public’s attention this past year, but one of the most surprising ones may just be the debate regarding celebrity bathing habits. The discussion originally kicked off this past July when Mila Kunis revealed that she and husband Ashton Kutcher don’t bathe their kids with soap and water every day. But, long before Branson and Bezos’s dreams became a reality, Ashton Kutcher was all about civilian space travel. He even purchased a ticket to be part of Branson’s expedition. Unfortunately, it wasn’t meant to be, as his wife Mila Kunis vetoed the idea. Kutcher ended up selling his ticket. Now, the Bad Moms Christmas star seemingly backtracked on making her husband sell his ticket, but only after the billionaire space race began.

Having a young family and thriving career would make anyone reexamine their head-in-the-sky dreams. That seemed to be the basis for Mila Kunis stopping Ashton Kutcher from pursuing a trip to space. So, selling his ticket seemed reasonable at the time. Looking back on the practical decision, while speaking with People Magazine, the actress seemed to regret telling her husband “no” to space travel:

Mila Kunis seemed remorseful for stopping her husband’s dream of space travel. But, given everything the couple had on the line, Kunis’s concerns for her family were perfectly valid. Civilian space travel hadn’t been proven yet, and her husband’s life could’ve been in danger. This decision proved how influential Kunis has been on Kutcher. Despite Kunis’s sentiment, Kutcher could still go into space with Richard Branson if another trip were to happen. The star did give a little more insight into this family decision.

Mila Kunis spoke on how the couple came to their final choice, noting how her opinion on Ashton Kutcher’s desire seemed to shift over time. Kunis went into more detail about how she went from being okay with Kutcher’s space dreams to vetoing the idea.

Given Kunis’s new mom status at the time, her request made sense, as Ashton Kutcher wanted to participate in something that may or may not have been very dangerous. The actress did refer to her husband as a “sweet man” for passing up the opportunity. And, she now calls herself “selfish” for not letting Kutcher go, despite her love for Star Trek.

Given Ashton Kutcher’s priorities at this point, Mila Kunis was just a wife and mother worrying about her husband’s safety. With civilian space travel becoming even more of a reality, Kutcher and Kunis in space might be another collaboration between the couple.

While the late night talk show scene hasn't changed all that much in recent years, TV viewers will soon be saying (a temporary) goodbye to the longest-running host in the game, with Conan O'Brien's TBS series Conan coming to an official close after eleven zany seasons. So you know what that means: quite a few big and noteworthy celebrities will be popping by to bid farewell to the show with style and comedic grace, and several of them are SNL vets.

TBS has revealed the nearly full list of awesome Hollywood stars that will serve as Conan's final batch of guests during its last two weeks on the air, while also sharing the awesome news that live studio audiences will finally be allowed back into the studio for those eight episodes. Let's take a look at the famed folks who will stop by during his penultimate week of episodes.

Not a weak link in that group, that's for sure, especially with Conan O'Brien as the ringleader. He's kicking things off with comedian and M.O.D.O.K. star Patton Oswalt, who has shared the talk show stage with O'Brien more than three dozen times across the latter's various shows (which also include Late Night and The Tonight Show). Following that up will be the iconic Martin Short, the rare Conan guest who can stand toe-to-toe with the host when it comes to manic silliness. Curb Your Enthusiasm's JB Smoove will presumably have fans rolling with laughter during his Wednesday night episode. And then that Thursday will cap off with a guest appearance from Family Guy's Mila Kunis, who possibly has the fewest Conan-related appearances of anyone in this two-week stretch.

Things get a little more interesting in the actual final week of episodes, whose guests are noted below:

First, I think Conan fans can all agree that Bill Hader, Dana Carvey and Jack Black are a superb trio of comedy giants that deserve the honor of serving as Conan O'Brien's final guests. The three have a combined total of over 40 appearances across the host's various shows - which basically equals Patton Oswalt's appearances - and they're always enjoyable no matter what talk show they're on.

The wild card here is the Tuesday night episode, whose guest hasn't been announced yet. That could mean anything from a major surprise guest like David Letterman or The Rock to another longtime Conan regular like Timothy Olyphant or Will Ferrell. Granted, Olyphant just appeared in the last month, but Ferrell hasn't been around since last year, so he could be the mystery option. Or maybe Dax Shepard will pop up to recreate his notoriously ripped appearance from Late Night in 2004.

Viewers can likely expect more fun and mildly organized chaos during Conan's final two weeks on TBS, too. Especially now that it's been confirmed that live audiences will be allowed again after more than a year of pandemic-set episodes that went without. Not that the host is going away forever or anything. The end of his current show is coinciding with a big move to HBO Max, where O'Brien will take a slightly different approach to the talk show format, on top of creating other specials and comedic content for the streaming service. I'm betting we'll see quite a few of the names listed above during his first year of episodes on HBO Max, too.

Jason Segel's unorthodox-but-heartfelt-and-often-funny rom-com was a delightful mix of raunchy humor and romantic sweetness. Aided by a top-tier comedy cast, which also includes Kristen Bell, Mila Kunis, Russell Brand, Paul Rudd, Bill Hader, and Jonah Hill, this Judd Apatow production propelled Segel into leading man status, started Nicholas Stoller's directing career, and lead to 2010's spin-off film, Get Him to the Greek. As Peter Bretter, our lovelorn composer who travels to Hawaii to get his mind off his traumatic break-up, only to run into his ex — and her new lover — on the trip, Jason Segel made his own starring vehicle with 2008's outrageous Forgetting Sarah Marshall. In addition to playing the leading man, Segel wrote the film, too, based on his own experiences. Furthermore, Segel also wrote and starred in 2011's The Muppets, The Five-Year Engagement, and Sex Tape. For TV lovers, Segel is known for CBS' long-running sitcom, How I Met Your Mother. He also appeared in short-lived shows like Freaks & Geeks and Undeclared. In the role of Matthew Van Der Wyk, a kind-hearted waiter who's an obsessive fan of Aldous, Jonah Hill played a friendly supporting character in Nicholas Stoller's Forgetting Sarah Marshall. One year before this movie's release, Hill gained notice and acclaim for Superbad and Knocked Up. He also co-starred in Get Him to the Greek. His other notable film credits include 21 Jump Street, Funny People, This is the End, 22 Jump Street, Accepted, Hail Caesar!, War Dogs, The Sitter, Cyrus, and The Beach Bum. As Darald Braden, a recently-married man who's insecure about pleasing his sexually-demanding wife, Jack McBrayer plays a timid character in Forgetting Sarah Marshall. Most notably, McBrayer is known for his Emmy-nominated performance on NBC's 30 Rock. He also received an Emmy nomination for his guest role in Your Pretty Face Is Going to Hell. Additionally, as a voice actor, McBrayer is known for Wreck-It Ralph and Ralph Breaks the Internet. Maria Thayer (Wyoma Braden)

In the role of Wyoma Braden, Darald's sexually-liberated newlywed wife, Maria Thayer plays a frisky supporting character in Forgetting Sarah Marshall. Since first fibbing about her age to get onto That '70s Show, Mila Kunis has had an impressive career in the entertainment industry. From the Netflix announcement, we've learned that Mila Kunis will be playing the role of Ani FaNelli. It sounds like Luckiest Girl Alive will have the actress returning to a more sinister role. She was nominated for a Golden Globe in 2010 for her dark performance in Darren Aronofsky’s Black Swan.

The Handmaid’s Tale director Mike Barker, who is also an executive producer on the Hulu show, is attached to direct Luckiest Girl Alive. He’s helmed a number of episodes for the award-winning series and earned two Emmy nominations in the Outstanding Drama Series category for his work.

Mila Kunis has had an impressive career in the comedy circuit since her breakout role in 2008’s Forgetting Sarah Marshall, appearing in Friends with Benefits, Bad Moms and, more recently, The Spy Who Dumped Me, among others.

She’s also known for her high profile relationship with That '70s Show co-star Ashton Kutcher. Despite the pair's on-screen chemistry, they were recently featured in a Super Bowl ad after Kunis said she’d never work with her husband again.

I was a huge fan of Black Swan, so I'm excited to see Mila Kunis return to more dramatic territory. Hopefully Luckiest Girl Alive will win her similar accolades, which isn’t out of the question considering Netflix’s recent domination of the awards circuit. By now, most of us are feverishly anticipating one thing: getting to the part of the year where we can watch brand new Bridgerton episodes whenever Season 2 comes out. The romantic drama has taken over the public consciousness as few television shows have, and with viewers being so enamored of everything from the costumes, all of the big finale reveals, finding historical mistakes, and fawning over the sparkling dialogue, fan love for the sexytimes has gained even more prominence. Apparently, those special scenes led Ashton Kutcher to think his Bridgerton-fan wife, Mila Kunis, was actually watching porn.

Anyone who's peeped Bridgerton Season 1 knows that the show has some very...enthusiastic love scenes. While one, in particular, drove fans crazy because of the wonderfully anachronistic use of a string version of a Taylor Swift song, pretty much all of them are well worth their screen time. According to an interview the couple did recently on Today with Hoda & Jenna (via Insider), there was a lot of confusion for Ashton Kutcher one night as Mila Kunis was trying to catch up on Bridgerton. As they told the hosts:

Oh, boy. Remember that special sexy scene I mentioned above which involved a very Regency era-sounding T. Swizzle song? Well, the Bridgerton Episode 5 scene that Mila Kunis is talking about is the prelude to that, and happens at the very end when Daphne and Simon finally get to enjoy their first night of wedded bliss.

As you might imagine, along with the beautiful mood lighting and some nudity, there's also a lot of moaning, sighing and excited / confused groaning, so it makes complete sense that Ashton Kutcher would think that Kunis had turned their bedroom into "porno" central while he was asleep beside her.

Obviously, Kutcher isn't the only one to equate the Bridgerton sex scenes with porn. Even though he hadn't actually seen the semi-graphic scenes in question, and can't be blamed for assuming all of the moaning which woke him up was way naughtier than it was in reality, there are plenty of folks who did watch the whole thing and deemed it saucy enough to pirate and put on legitimate porn sites. Which you'd be correct in thinking has made the actors who filmed those scenes less than happy.

But, honestly, as long as you know what's up with Bridgerton's obviously very well-thought out and totally choreographed sexytimes, there's nothing wrong with enjoying how they further the story.

Bridgerton Season 2 is said to be filming this spring, so we might actually be able to watch the new episodes by the end of this year.
