Veep's focus on what it means to be a politician as opposed to politics has won it many fans from both sides of the aisle. Even so, It may raise a few eyebrows that the straight-laced former Governor and Presidential hopeful Mitt Romney and his wife are big fans of the show! Romney even played a part in Season 6, which shows the aftermath of Selina Meyer's devastating loss of the Presidency. Knowing the feeling, Romney spoke with Julia Louis-Dreyfus and the Veep staff what he did during and following his loss of the 2012 Presidential election.

Those are some wise words from a guy who was kind enough to recall likely one of his worst moments in the national spotlight all for a show he liked. Still, it's really cool that the Veep team took the opportunity to reach out to Mitt Romney and get his personal perspective on life after losing the Presidency. As Julia Louis-Dreyfus said to Jimmy Kimmel, Mitt Romney had a lot to keep him busy following the loss of the election, so the parallels between him and Selina Meyer are few. Following his loss, Romney shied away from the spotlight, while Sunday's episode of Veep had Selina saying she's going to run for President again.

Perhaps that's why the Veep team was so interested in Mitt Romney's 47% moment. For those whose memory fails them, Romney came under fire during his campaign for a political gaffe in which he stated that 47% of American citizens do not pay income tax. The statement, which Romney was filmed saying at a private event for wealthy donors, took off and caused some controversy for Romney on his campaign trail regardless of his actual meaning behind the statement. Perhaps Season 6 will feature Selina Meyer making some large gaffe that briefly derails her future bid for President, or the show could just be keeping their experience in their back pocket for a later season of Veep.

Showrunner David Mandel recently spoke about how this new season really opens up a new world for the show, and that there's really no telling how long the show can run. The immediate aftermath of a presidential election is typically filled with very simplistic emotions. Candidates, campaign workers and supporters are either euphoric over a victory or distraught over a defeat. In the subsequent days and weeks, however, everything tends to get analyzed very specifically to figure out why Americans elected a particular candidate and what each party can do to either continue the momentum or reverse the trend.

Almost a week after President Obama gave his happy speech, many strategists and pundits are taking a long hard look at what happened, and most seem to be asking the same two absolutely fundamental questions. Did Governor Romney lose the election, or did President Obama win it?

That might sound like two idiotic questions, but the thought process is actually correct. When people head to the polls, they don’t always vote for a candidate. Sometimes they actually vote against a different candidate. President Obama won the popular vote by a few million and the electoral college handily, but in theory, he should have been beatable. The economy hasn’t completely turned around, and after the first debate, Romney was ahead in pretty much every poll. This election was up for grabs.

Obama supporters have the "U Can't Touch This" Obama dub to enjoy in celebration of the President's election victory, but what can the Romney supporters watch to ease their pain as they accept the loss? This video may not fully assuage the Grand Old Party's grief but it does find the silver (or platinum) lining to Romney's defeat, and it's put together with a peppy song.

The YouTube channel Schmoyoho is known for setting speeches and other viral videos to catchy songs (including the Presidential debates), but in the case of this video, titled "Romney Sings Concession," rather than putting Romney's actual Concession speech to music, they replaced his words (and mouth) with their own, with a song that sums up Romney's cheerful attitude over his loss.

Ok, so not exactly pro-Romney in its amusing celebration of tax write-offs and overseas investments, but it does find the brighter side to his defeat in a funny way.

President Barack Obama has been elected to a second term in office. Those who weren't able to stay up last night to see Obama's enthusiastic and grateful victory speech can check it out ahead. We also have Mitt Romney's gracious concession speech posted for you to watch in its entirety.

Tuesday night was a good night to be Barack Obama or one of his supporters, but it wasn't a landslide victory. The country is clearly divided in their thinking, and it should be interesting to see how President Obama handles his second term in office. The president addresses moving forward and working together with Governor Romney to move the U.S. forward. Check out his speech below.

"We are an American family and we rise and fall together as one nation," President Obama said. "Tonight, in this election, you, the American people reminded us that while our road has been hard, while our journey has been long, we have picked ourselves up, we have fought our way back, and we know in our hearts that for the United States of America, the best is yet to come."

I like the comment about fixing the long voting lines. I was fortunate enough not to have much of a line when I went to vote, but seeing the lines people dealt with on the news, there seems to be a problem with the system in some areas. His talk of peace, generosity, compassion, tolerance, love, charity, duty and patriotism is uplifting and motivational. There's a tone of American unity in Barack Obama's speech, and we saw that as well in Mitt Romney's Concession speech, which encourages the government to put the people before the politics. "The nation, as you know, is at a critical point," Romney said. "At a time like this, we can't risk partisan bickering and political posturing. Our leaders have to reach across the aisle to do the people's work. And we citizens also have to rise to the occasion."

He encouraged democrats and republicans to put the people above the politics. Well, now that all of the campaigning and election business is mostly said and done, hopefully progress is next up on the agenda.

There’s usually a little bit of a loss in numbers after the first debate rolls through town. The emotional rollercoaster of listening to two candidates jibber jabber and sometimes skirt the issues must be too much for some audiences after the first time through. Yesterday, Mitt Romney and President Barack Obama went through the rigmarole of the second Presidential debate, and while the numbers did drop, they didn’t fall as far as one might guess.

According to Deadline, Tuesday’s debate brought in 65.6 million viewers. The bad news is that’s down 1.6 million from the October 3rd debate where both titans clashed and Jim Lehrer cowered. The good news is the second debate was up in viewers from the second debate of the 2008 election. More Americans investing in the debates means more informed voters, which is never a bad thing. Still, it’s a bit of a shame that the numbers didn’t compete with the first debate, as the verbal sparring was far more spectacular on Tuesday.

Deadline is also noting that, of all the outlets providing debate coverage last night, by far NBC pulled ahead with the most viewers. NBC pulled ahead of ABC with 13.8 million total viewers, while the alphabet network only garnered 12.46 million. Fox News took third place with 11.1 million. It’s surprising that NBC and ABC were able to pull ahead when the various cable news outlets should have more comprehensive coverage, but I guess network TV watchers really will stick with the low-numbered channels when possible.

The third presidential debate is set for the evening of Monday, October 22.

Mitt Romney passed the one million follower mark on Twitter yesterday, though whether or not that’s a worthy achievement or an embarrassment depends on who you talk to. The former Massachusetts governor currently sits at about twenty thousand over the attention-grabbing number as of press time. Unfortunately for him, his opponent is rapidly approaching twenty million.

The Romney campaign celebrated the achievement with a pretty understated tweet marking the accomplishment, likely because organizers didn’t want to draw widespread comparisons between Mitt and Barack Obama’s social media presences. Here’s a look at the campaign’s official comment…

Most polls and analyses of the electoral college favor Obama to win the upcoming election in November, but the relatively narrow margin predicted in those studies and the disparity in Twitter followers couldn’t be wider. So, the question is—what the hell gives? Well, more than likely, two issues are in play here.

First, Obama’s campaign is way better at social media. Not only does the President’s account tweet more, it retweets more alternate sources and does wacky things like send out beer recipes. Romney’s account is normally pretty dry and stays on topic more often. Second, the most active people on Twitter tend to be young people, and far more young people support Obama than Romney. Thus, because of the President’s superior social media campaign and the ease of getting support from young people, it’s not altogether shocking he has way more followers. Almost twenty-to-one, however, is still a crazy number.

After Ann Romney, who is reportedly anti-gay marriage, cited Modern Family as her favorite show, it was widely assumed someone involved with the gay-friendly program would respond. Yesterday, the reply came from co-creator Steve Levitan, though his words, while cutting, were a whole lot less vicious than many expected.

It’s always better when people respond to controversy how they naturally would. For example: Tom Morello is an aggressive guy. He’s very loudly and vibrantly fought for the causes he believes in for years. Thus, when vice presidential candidate Paul Ryan said he liked Rage Against The Machine’s music, it made sense he would fire off a long-winded letter full of hostility. Levitan, on the other hand, makes his career working with subtle comments and clever retorts. It makes sense he would have thanked the potential first lady while sliding in a socially aware jab.

In addition to the Romney’s, the Obama’s have been outspoken advocates of Modern Family, as well. New episodes are currently being filmed and will start airing on September 26th. With both presidential candidate families watching, the show might be one of the few issues the two men won’t fight over. Gay marriage, however, will definitely be at the forefront.

Get ready for more money-raising telethons on PBS if Mitt Romney wins the 2012 election. The Republican candidate has listed the public broadcasting channel among areas of the arts he plans to cut funding for if he gets into office. Seems donations from people like you really might be the backbone of PBS if we wind up with a Republican president.

In an interview with Fortune, Mitt Romney makes a wide variety of the usual campaign promises with plenty of focus on his promise to tax the rich rather than the middle class. He also promises to turn the spending axe on areas receiving endowments and subsidies from the government. Among them are arts-based programs such as the National Endowment for the Arts and PBS. Romeny argues that the money they’re receiving is contributing to a huge national debt, and they’ll have to go it on their own instead of getting money the U.S. has to borrow:

PBS is a channel that is often the subject of many jokes and sarcasm. Remember Homer’s fake pledge on The Simpsons that brought the wrath of Betty White down on him? Classic. With the government subsidy cut, PBS would rely a lot more on donations (real ones) to stay alive. Either that or go the route of most other channels and air commercials. It’s not like anyone has to watch them anymore anyhow in the age of DVR.

The real question is, can slashing funding to a few such programs really get America out of our current financial hole? Perhaps the U.S. government should instead take a cue from PBS and hold a telethon. I bet Betty White would host.

Ability to negotiate with and/ or defeat alien races might not be an issue that’s been discussed much thus far this year in the lead-up to the presidential election, but it turns out, it’s a point President Obama should probably be hammering home. That’s because the results of a new study conducted by the National Geographic Channel show sixty-five percent of voters think he would better handle visitors from another planet than his competitor Mitt Romney.

The exhaustive analysis was taken over the past few weeks, and respondents were asked a slew of questions concerning their opinions on aliens and UFOs. It turns out way more people claim to have seen aliens than most of us would have guessed. Ten percent of Americans are convinced they’ve seen a UFO with their own eyes, and twenty percent know someone else who claims to have seen a UFO. Perhaps even scarier, according to USA Today, seventy-one percent are convinced the government has withheld alien-related information from the general public.

The research was conducted to provide background for National Geographic’s new show Chasing UFOs, and if the results are to be believed, it seems a hell of a lot of people will be interested in this program. It’s scheduled to premiere on Friday evening.

If you’re wondering why Obama so thoroughly dominated Romney on the who-would-better-lead-us issue, a potential reason likely lies in how respondents indicated they personally would deal with aliens. Only two percent recommended we should attack the extraterrestrials, while a majority approved of more hands-off, diplomatic policies. Love him or hate him, I've never heard anyone accuse the president of being poor with words.

All that talk about Obama being a pansy and Mitt Romney being too pretty to be the Commander in Chief is hogwash. Both Obama and Romney are out to prove that they're as tough as manly-men like Mike Rowe, Sylvester Stallone and Jason Stathom as they suit up and fight hordes of baddies in Trendy Entertainment's Dungeon Defenders.

Obama won't be doing the ogre slaying alone, though, Michelle Obama will be right by his side kicking butt and taking names as well.

The Obamas and Romney will be available for a limited time as free DLC for the PC version of Dungeon Defenders. In addition to this a new Battle Royale ring will also be available so gamers can duke it out in the ring to see who the greatest politician is.

Pretty hilarious eh? The game itself offers up almost endless amounts of fun and plenty of unlockable and lootable items simply by playing through various maps on harder difficulty settings.

A prank caller left both New Hampshire Republican Chairman Wayne MacDonald and his C-Span hosts at a loss for words when he called in to ask a very big question about former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney. Surely he can’t be the only one who is curious.

Fishbowl DC has the uncensored footage of a man claiming to be from Portsmouth and calling himself Dan putting in a question to MacDonald and then leading into something rather unexpected. The conversation started off pretty clean, but got dirty in a hurry when “Dan” asked MacDonald the question that’s been on everyone’s – ok, maybe a few people’s – minds. Does Mitt Romney have a big penis?

The hosts do their best to save the moment while MacDonald pretends he didn’t quite hear the caller right. If only we could have seen the behind the scenes flurry this must have created.

Since earlier today the 2 Broke Girls creator was blasted for use of the word “vagina” it seems doubly amusing that the word “penis” should pop up on C-Span. If this is the kind of caller C-Span is bringing in, perhaps like the Super Bowl it should air on a delay. Someone call the FCC. On the other hand, if this is a trend, I might actually start to find politics much more amusing.
