There’s no denying that Paul Rudd is great in a buddy comedy (see I Love You, Man, The 40-Year-Old Virgin, and everybody’s favorite cringe comedy, Friendship), and Nick Jonas is obviously an appropriate choice to play a former boyband star, so right off the bat, Power Ballad seems to be hitting all the right notes. The musical dramedy is the latest from John Carney — whose work regularly explores the connections that can be made through music and songwriting — and critics are mostly charmed by the leads' chemistry and the emotions the movie evokes.

Paul Rudd stars as Rick Power, the lead singer of a wedding band who gave up his dreams of being a rock star to start a family, and Nick Jonas as Danny Wilson, a boyband veteran who’s struggling to go solo. The two form an instant musical connection, which sours after Rick realizes Danny stole a song from him that he’d been working on for years. Ian Freer of Empire gives it 4 out of 5 stars. saying the lead actors are a delight together in this big-hearted film. In his Power Ballad review, Freer writes:

Angie Han of THR agrees the chemistry between the two leads is “immediate and easy and warm.” John Carney hits every emotional note and provides an in-universe hit song that’s bound to get stuck in your head. The film — like a good pop song, Han says — is “a little bit familiar, a little bit unexpected and utterly, thrillingly satisfying.” Han’s review of Power Ballad reads:

Christian Zilko of IndieWire gives it a B, calling it a “charming” addition to John Carney’s resume, even if disbelief must be suspended for some aspects of the plot. It’s worth it for what the director gets from Nick Jonas and Paul Rudd. Zilko continues:

Power Ballad didn’t win over every critic, however. Simon Abrams of AV Club gives it a C-, saying it’s hard to tell what the movie is about, beyond its “wispy platitudes.” Paul Rudd carries the movie despite an engaged Nick Jonas, the critic says, but there’s not a lot of character development. Abrams writes:

Kristy Puchko of Mashable agrees with other critics that Power Ballad is warm and silly with a big heart that will inspire many smiles and a few laughs, but it’s a far cry from the cinematic magic that John Carney has provided in the past. Puchko concludes:

Despite some critics wanting to dig a little deeper into the complicated relationship between our main characters, Power Ballad has struck a chord with those who caught an early showing, and it will premiere in wide release with a Certified Fresh 87% on Rotten Tomatoes. Our own Sarah El-Mahmoud can attest to the positive feedback, as the movie brought out a variety of emotions when she saw it.

If you’re excited to see John Carney’s new movie or to experience Paul Rudd and Nick Jonas as musical frenemies, Power Ballad is in limited release now, going wide on Friday, June 5.

Look, we’re very much in the summer movie season on the 2026 movie release calendar, which means there are big-budget action movies and scary films galore. But sometimes we just want to go to the movie to feel big emotions, and that’s exactly what happened when I checked out Power Ballad this week.

The music-focused comedy comes from writer/director John Carney, whom I've loved following over the years. He most notably made the 2007 movie Once and a movie with Keira Knightley and Mark Ruffalo I’ve watched a ton of times called Begin Again. So, I was excited to see his latest movie starring Paul Rudd and Nick Jonas. Here are the two big emotions I felt while watching it:

I Was Shocked At The Shots It Fires At Boy Band Members

Now, I absolutely grew up loving the Jonas Brothers. When I was younger, I got all their albums and was a fan of the Camp Rock movies. As I’ve gotten older, I know that boy bands like them seem to lack a certain edge that other music acts have. So, it’s completely understandable that Paul Rudd’s character of Rick Power, a longtime rocker who settled down in Ireland, had a daughter and now fronts a wedding band, might scoff at a member of a boy band. However, this movie is sort of hilariously brutal about its commentary on boy bands... especially when members try to find their own footing outside their group.

Nick Jonas plays a former boy band member named Danny Wilson who is attending a wedding that Rick’s band happens to be playing at. Since the movie stars one of the biggest members of a boy band, I thought the movie might be soft about these types of guys, but the movie gets real real with the boy band jokes/commentary. I guess I should not be surprised given the Jonas Brothers often not taking themselves too seriously and letting the jokes fly, most recently in their Christmas movie, but still!

Nick Jonas seems nothing like the character he plays, who ends up stealing Rick’s 20-year-old song to launch his solo career. Part of me just couldn’t believe the movie exists, given the conversations that occur that must have hit home to his own life to some degree. His role had a real layered depth to it. I could feel for the guy, but man, is he a jerk in this movie, too!

The Journey Of Paul Rudd’s Character Warmed My Heart

In contrast to the shock I felt watching Power Ballad, this movie also gave me warm and fuzzy feelings. Basically, the setup is that Rick and Danny have a wild night where they bond over music, while drinking a lot, and end up jamming together. They basically both want what the other has, and Danny ends up stealing Rick’s song after he plays it for him that night. When it becomes a massive global hit, they both have to wrestle with what they wish they had from the other person.

For Rick, he’s a proud dad of a teenage girl who’s being very teen-like lately. A long time ago, when he met her mom and they decided to get married and become parents, Rick decided to give up his dream of being a rockstar. When he sees his idea become a pop sensation, he starts to think over what could have been. I won’t get into the details of what plays out during the movie, but it ends up being a super feel-good story about his life as a parent that’s going to stick with me for a while.

Power Ballad is now playing in select theaters and going wide next weekend.

If you haven’t been tuning into The Traitors with a Peacock subscription, let me tell you, you’re missing out. The series is a social deception game that pits a group of people against each other while spending time in a castle in the Scottish Highlands as they try to figure out who among them are “traitors”. Now, to that point, we've learned about an upcoming horror movie starring Nick Jonas that reminds me of the reality competition series, and I’m hyped.

I’m talking about a new horror movie led by Jonas and Kathryn Newton called White Elephant that was just announced by Deadline. Check out the movie’s tagline, and tell me you’re not also catching The Traitors vibes:

Fun idea, right? This sounds like it will be a fun Christmas-themed horror movie that follows a group of friends taking part in their annual holiday gift exchange. I do wonder how their game of white elephant will turn into some sort of bloody slasher. We don’t know all the details of the premise, but perhaps at their latest party, all but one gift will be safe, and they’ll have to use their smarts to survive the dangerous game.

The idea of all of them being in the same place without knowledge of who the enemy is and who has good intentions definitely speaks to me as a fan of The Traitors. We’ll have to wait and see what other actors the movie recruits for the rest of the friend group, but I am ready!

It’s going to be directed by Clown in a Cornfield’s Eli Craig from a script by JT Billings.

White Elephant notably comes from the producers behind the Ready or Not movies, Tyler Gillett and Matt Bettinelli-Olpin, along with Nick Jonas also producing. Newton was just a welcome addition to Ready or Not 2, so it’s no surprise that she’s teaming up with the same filmmakers again. Kathryn Newton has become a regular player in scary movies such as Abigail, Lisa Frankenstein and Freaky.

Jonas, on the other hand, hasn’t done much of the horror genre in his career. His only toe-dip into horror was back in 2015 when he was in Ryan Murphy’s series Scream Queens.

Lately, he’s done gigs like filming Camp Rock 3 with his brothers, along with starring in A Very Jonas Christmas Movie and being a coach on The Voice. He’s got two projects on the 2026 movie schedule, with a musical comedy with Paul Rudd called Power Ballad coming June 5 and the next Jumanji movie arriving in theaters on Christmas Day. I’m so curious to unwrap this scary movie once it comes out.

There are some great Hollywood friendships out there, but my new favorite is the somewhat unlikely pairing of Nick Jonas and Glen Powell. The duo has been friends for quite some time, and they’re close enough that they’re able to give each other advice, as the singer has apparently been doing for the actor. What's surprising about all this, though, is the fact that the musician of this duo was the one giving acting advice.

Glen Powell and Nick Jonas are both incredibly successful in their chosen careers, so one wouldn’t necessarily expect there to be a lot of advice for either one to give the other. However, speaking with ET, Powell reveals that he’s gone to his friend for help on an upcoming role, as Jonas has a unique perspective on it that few others would have. The Top Gun: Maverick actor explained…

Glen Powell knows how to be a movie star, but if you need to be a rock star, I suppose it helps to be good friends with one. Nick Jonas isn’t only a rock star, but he’s a guy who has been one for most of his life, having grown up as a “Disney kid” making music with his brothers. Jonas probably has a very unique view of being a rock star that few other rock stars have.

It's also worth noting that while Jonas is better known as a musician, he is an actor too. So, really, he was the perfect person to give Powell advice.

The friendship between Glen Powell and Nick Jonas reached a new, and hilarious, level recently when we learned that the two stars are so close that they share clothes, even when they don’t do it on purpose. Jonas recently posted an Instagram video that revealed that a pair of pants he had been given to wear for a public performance had previously been worn by Powell, as proven by the fact that his airline boarding pass was still in the pocket.

And from there, the Brotherhood of the Traveling Pants was born. Powell’s reaction to discovering the connection was probably the same thing the rest of us were thinking, as he couldn’t believe that loaned clothes like that don’t get washed between uses.

Not a lot is known about the Judd Apatow movie that Powell is referring to. It doesn’t have a confirmed title, and the plot synopsis actually references a country music singer who suffers some sort of career downfall. It’s unclear if the music has shifted from country to rock or if the artist Powell is playing is one of those who straddles the line between the two genres. The pair is also working on a comedy with a very NSFW title.

ET suggested that The Brotherhood of the Traveling Pants needed to be a movie starring Glen Powell and Nick Jonas, and the actor about to play a rock star wasn't against the idea. Jonas and Powell were confirmed for a buddy comedy together a few years back, but it has yet to materialize.

However, this whole saga about their friendship is certainly a reminder that I need to see these two on screen together.

There must be countless diaries tucked away in garages from the early 2000s with “Mrs. Nick Jonas” written in cursive all over them, but it was Priyanka Chopra who earned the title of the singer/actor’s other half back in 2018. They’ve been together for eight years now and share a young daughter together, but their relationship hasn’t been bulletproof to public backlash in the past, and Chopra Jonas just opened up about it.

Chopra Jonas has been a busy lady recently from filming her first Indian movie in years, Varanasi and having a swashbuckling adventure on the 2026 movie release schedule set to come out later this month. In a new interview with Variety, she tackled the topic of her relationship with Nick Jonas, saying this:

Like many couples in Hollywood, over the years Priyanka and Nick have been the subject of rumors such as theories that they are a PR couple or are facing marital problems behind the scenes. Chopra Jonas responded to the subject by saying it’s the choice of others if they “want to keep waiting for it to implode,” but as far as she’s concerned she’s “stopped thinking about it.”

In regards to their age gap, Chopra Jonas is a decade older than her husband. When they met, she was 35 and he was 25. Previously, she’s said that when she first met him she too “judged the book by the cover” and declined dating him before realizing he’s a “a 70-year-old man stuck in a 30-year-old’s body”. When Nick Jonas proposed to his wife, he apparently told her she checked all of his boxes, and later the pair got matching tattoos of a checkmark in a box (Priyanka has it behind her ear and Nick has it on his arm). The former Bollywood actress recalls not being sure if her husband’s sincerity was “even real” when they were in the early days of their relationship, but thankfully she’s been proven wrong time and time again. As Chopra Jonas also said:

Friends help out friends when they can. The closer you are to somebody, the more you’re willing to do for them. Good friends will even share each other's clothes, so to hear that Nick Jonas recently wore Glen Powell’s pants wouldn’t be that unusual a situation. However, the circumstances are not that simple.

Nick Jonas just dropped a video on Instagram where he reveals that during a recent appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, he wore a pair of pants that were provided to him by an unnamed brand. When putting them on before the show, however, he discovered a piece of paper in one of the pockets. That paper was an airline boarding pass belonging to, of all people, The Running Man actor Glen Powell.

This means that, apparently, Powell had been given the same pair of pants for some previous public appearance, and after he did it, he returned them to the company, who then sent the same pants to Nick Jonas. Of course, the elephant in the room here is that the pants must not have been washed in between celebrity uses. Glen Powell himself is a bit weirded out by this as he commented on the post, saying…

What makes the whole situation weirder is that while Glen Powell is shocked that nobody washed these pants, Nick Jonas apparently is not. He indicates that this is not the first time that he’s reached into a pocket of the provided pants and found something belonging to the last person who wore them. Apparently, it’s a normal thing. The free stuff celebrities get feels a lot less cool now.

Now, Powell and Jonas are friends who are supposed to make a buddy comedy together at some point. So, it's nice to know that they wear the same size pants if anything goes wrong in wardrobe on the set.

To be fair, they are nice pants. Check out Nick Jonas’ performance on The Tonight Show and get a look at the pants in question, which were once worn by Glen Powell on an airplane.

At this point, we don’t know how far The Brotherhood of the Traveling Pants extends. If Glen Powell and Nick Jonas have worn the pants, there’s a good chance other celebrities have as well, or they will in the future. These pants could end up going all over the world.

I hope Nick Jonas left something in the pocket so that the next celeb to wear them knows that these pants were once on The Tonight Show. It would be cool to wear pants once worn by Nick Jonas and Glen Powell, though if I somehow ever discover I have those pants, I’m still going to wash them first.

The new year will be bringing new resolutions and fresh starts for a lot of people, but plenty of nostalgia is also heading to the 2026 TV schedule. Disney is officially coming out with a new Camp Rock film with the Jonas Brothers and Demi Lovato on hand as executive producers. Even though Camp Rock 3 will focus on a new generation of Camp Rockers, Kevin, Joe, and Nick Jonas will be reprising their roles as Jason, Shane, and Nate Gray, a.k.a. Connect 3, and the sequel will indeed feature some of the original movie’s songs. So the one I really hope is included

Despite the movie including a mostly new cast and plenty of new songs, there will still be a lot of reason to reflect on the past. And not just because the Jonas Brothers and Maria Canals-Barrera are returning to their roles. Camp Rock 3 director Veronica Rodriguez told Entertainment Weekly that the new film will indeed include some familiar favorites when it comes to the music:

Camp Rock and Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam have some pretty iconic songs for Disney, and it can be assumed that Camp Rock 3 will also have some fun ones, as well. But as an OG fan, it is nice to know that there will be some songs from the original in the new film, whether they’re the original number or a new version.

And while there are a lot to choose from, I am hoping that Camp Rock’s finale number, “We Rock,” is on that list. While it was the final number in the movie, it definitely brought the fire. Everyone was together, and it even had the words “Camp Rock” in the song as they all sang about the summer they had and how much they wanted to rock.

It would theoretically be easy to bring a new version out for Camp Rock 3 with the new generation of Camp Rockers, whether it’s again for the finale or included at some point in the movie, assuming they keep the jam nights from the original movie or even the Final Jam. And with the Jonas Brothers reprising their roles, maybe they could even sing their original lines or pass the torch. Additionally, fans have been hoping Demi Lovato will return for a cameo, so maybe she can even sing her original line. If she returns as Mitchie Torres, that is.

Of course, fans should not expect the original songs to sound exactly the same, but it will still be exciting to hear them again. It’s hard to predict how Camp Rock 3 will turn out. However, it sounds like there will be a lot for both old and new fans, and I can’t say that I’m not intrigued. For now, fans will just have to wait and see how Camp Rock 3 goes when it airs on Disney Channel this summer, and for those with a Disney+ subscription.

The Jonas Brothers are finishing up the final leg of their Greetings From Your Hometown Tour, and are slowly transitioning into bona fide movie stars once again. The trio recently released their Christmas filmA Very Jonas Christmas Movie, for those with a Disney+ subscription, and will soon be returning to Camp Rock as Connect 3 for Camp Rock 3. Even though they have plenty of fans from all over the world who listen to their music and stream their movies, there are some people who hate their movies, and I cannot get enough of the Jonas Brothers’ impression of them.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Kevin, Joe, and Nick Jonas talked about people who don’t like their movies, pointing out how they can tell the difference between those who genuinely like their movies and those who thinki that it's all trash. As an example, Joe and Nick ran through a fun scenario of someone trying to talk about anything other than their movie, and I can’t stop laughing:

It can’t be easy hearing someone say that their movie is "trash" without further explanation, but I just love the impression that Joe did and got Nick’s stamp of approval because it’s how it always goes. And it’s safe to say that they probably aren’t the only ones who go through those kinds of snap judgment, so it wouldn’t be surprising if other celebrities would relate to it.

This is just another way the Jonas Brothers make fun of themselves. The fact that they can clearly tell when someone doesn’t like their movie, as opposed to someone who thinks the movie is “actually funny,” all because they will avoid talking about said movie, is pretty hilarious. That being said, as someone who has seen A Very Jonas Christmas Movie, it was actually funny, and I’m not just saying it. The film was anything but trash.

With Camp Rock 3 coming next year, it can be expected that the brothers will be hearing even more about how someone doesn’t like their movie or is trying to avoid talking about it, especially since it is Camp Rock 3. Andno, they're not doing it because they're in debt. While the movie will probably be filled to the brim with nostalgia, it will consist mostly of new Camp Rockers, while the Jonas Brothers are just making appearances in it as Connect 3, and it’s unknown how much they’ll even be in the movie. At least it’s easy for them to tell the difference between a genuine reaction and trash.

If the Jonas Brothers are known for anything that’s not music or acting, it would be making fun of themselves, and they aren’t afraid to do it. This also includes Joe Jonas going into the comments of TikToks making fun of his parallel parking skills, and I would love to see his impression of that.

As if it’s not enough knowing that the Jonas Brothers have been a band for twenty years, the boy band also went back down memory lane recently by reprising their roles as Connect 3 in Camp Rock 3. Ahead of the streaming release joining the 2026 TV schedule sometime in the new year, I’m getting emotional over what the JoBros said about returning to the Disney Channel franchise.

In celebration of the band’s 20th anniversary in 2025, People talked to the Jonas Brothers about their careers. While looking forward to Camp Rock 3, they had some sweet comments. Let’s start with Kevin Jonas:

While I know I thought they were instantly famous the moment I saw them on Disney Channel as a kid, as I’ve gotten older and they’ve spoken more openly about their journey thus far, I’ve learned that they had a much more rocky journey to becoming pop sensations. For example, one time they told the chaotic story of how Joe Jonas auditioned for Camp Rock.

It sounds like initially Joe’s role of Shane Gray was all Disney was looking for, but by some strike of luck, they all got cast, and the rest is history. Joe Jonas also added this about going to the Camp Rock 3 set:

It was officially announced that Camp Rock 3 was happening back in September while the project from Disney Branded Television was filming in Vancouver. All of the Jonas Brothers are back to play Connect 3 in a storyline where they lose their opening act for a “major reunion tour” and decide to go back to Camp Rock to find “the next big thing” as their replacement. Here’s what Nick said about the experience:

Camp Rock happened for the Jonas Brothers amidst their act starting to gain traction for their first album, It’s About Time. Before they knew it, they started a working collaboration with Disney and were all over Disney Channel. Before Camp Rock, I remember seeing them cover classic Disney songs on Radio Disney and guest-starring on Hannah Montana, but starring in their own movie (alongside Demi Lovato and her Camp Rock knees of course) was an even bigger deal.

For the new Camp Rock, they’ll be passing the torch to some new campers, but it’s great to see they are involved alongside Lovato also producing. It sounds like it was a really lovely experience for the trio.

Oh, and they recently had a Christmas movie come out on Disney+ and are already brainstorming what holiday to do a movie about next. It’s a great time to be a fan of the Jonas Brothers, and I can’t wait to get emotional with them when Camp Rock 3 comes out.

Growing up, the Jonas Brothers were my Beatles, so of course when I heard A Very Jonas Christmas Movie would be on the 2025 Christmas movie schedule, I knew I would be pressing play so fast. Now that it’s new on streaming, I’ve come back to share one predominant thought I had watching it, and it’s about Kevin Jonas... I’m as surprised as you are. SPOILERS ahead.

Kevin Jonas’s Christmas Wish Being To Finally Get To Sing Was Sending Me

First off, I had such a blast with A Very Jonas Christmas Movie. It brought me back to those days when I watched them on Disney Channel as a kid. It’s so unserious, and not trying too hard to be one of the best Christmas movies of all time or anything – just fun holiday viewing to enjoy with some eggnog. But, as someone who’s been a JoBros fan for the past 20 years at this point, I wasn’t expecting Kevin Jonas’s funny plot line.

If the storyline wasn’t hilarious enough already… The whole movie revolves around them being cursed by Santa Claus, who makes sure they have the worst holiday travel luck from London to their homes, in order to help them bond. All of them have their own personal things they are working through as they get stuck together for longer than expected and are away from each of their wives (minus Joe) and kids, but Kevin’s big secret is that he wants to finally sing with them moving forward.

Anyone who’s been following the Jonas Brothers knows that Nick and Joe are the two vocalists of the band. I just figured Kevin wasn’t into the whole singing thing, but it’s kind of the perfect inside joke for fans that this would be his big Christmas dilemma. As a bonus - there’s a scene in the movie where all the Jonas Brothers are apart and singing their own verses, and Kevin’s part is him just playing the guitar and the lyrics playing on the screen as subtitles. I wasn't prepared.

Then, I Learned Kevin Jonas Just Released His First Solo Song And It Gave Me Chills

At the end of A Very Jonas Christmas Movie, Kevin gets the chance to join his brothers in the final song. Don’t get me wrong, it’s totally sweet, but in the context of being a fan for so long, it’s kind of funny that the eldest brother would need to work himself up to ask his brothers if he can sing. Especially, when he actually has a great voice.

After I watched the movie, I learned that Kevin actually just released his first solo track ever recently, and it’s SO GOOD. Check out him playing on tour:

I’m simultaneously shocked and laughing, because all this went down in the most Jonas way possible. Anyways, here’s to more goofy Jonas Brothers movies, and perhaps a burgeoning solo career for Kevin!

The Jonas Brothers have officially returned home to Disney with their Disney+ Christmas special, A Very Jonas Christmas Movie, which recently premiered amid the 2025 movie schedule. Honestly, it reminds me a lot of their Disney Channel days of Jonas and Camp Rock. Thankfully, the brothers seem to be just as nostalgic as I am these days, and have signed onto the long-awaited Camp Rock 3, returning to the franchise that seemingly launched them to another level of stardom. The JoBros recently revealed the wild story behind Joe’s original Camp Rock audition, and let’s just say they were lucky to even get a call back.

There’s a popular misconception that the Jonas Brothers were a band Disney created, encouraged by media like South Park, which poked fun at their Disney roots and purity rings. The actual truth is that the band of brothers hustled on their own dime for nearly two years before signing with Walt Disney Records. The JoBros were flying by the seat of their pants, and it led to Joe Jonas recording perhaps the worst audition tape Disney had ever seen. Nick Jonas told Entertainment Weekly how the chaotic story fell into place:

All this and more is detailed in the Jonas Brothers’ Prime documentary Chasing Happiness, which happens to be one of the best music docs I’ve seen. It shows how the brothers got into performing, all the way to the band breaking up and finally reuniting in 2019. It’s incredible how much footage they have of Kevin, Nick, and Joe Jonas as kids, from about age 3 and on, it’s almost like they knew they were going to be famous.

You have to remember though, this was the ‘90s into the 2000s. The Jonas Brothers were in their prime My Space era and were constantly capturing everything on video. It wasn't always the best quality, something Nick said wasn’t great for his brother’s Camp Rock audition:

Kevin Jonas recalled holding a hotel lamp pointed straight at his brother, presumably while Nick filmed, and I just have to think that made the video quality worse somehow. Now, imagine sending that crappy home video taken in a hotel room to the big execs at Disney Channel. To no surprise, the Jumanji: Welcome To The Jungle actor said the head honchos over at the House of Mouse thought it had to be prank:

Man, what I would give to see that OG Camp Rock audition tape, though the Cup of Joe host joked to EW that Disney has it “somewhere in their vaults.” I guess I’ll have to settle for the real thing, when Camp Rock 3 eventually premieres on Disney+, hopefully sometime next year on the 2026 movie schedule.

The Jonas Brothers have certainly been famous as a group for many years, with the celebrity siblings acting alongside each other in Disney projects and performing on stage. But outside of their professional lives, they’re like everyday bros messing around with one another. In fact, after a “sexy Nick Jonas” pillow was found in a thrift store, his older brother, Joe, shared a hilarious response.

Plenty of people definitely see sex appeal in Nick Jonas, so naturally, there’s a “Sexy Nick Jonas” pillow. Surprisingly, it was revealed in @commentsbycelebs Instagram post that the particular merch pillow was found at a thrift store. When someone asked who would dare put the “Sexy Nick Jonas” item there, leave it to Joe Jonas to leave his hilarious response:

Gasp! Well, that’s one way to tell your little bro how you feel about him. In all seriousness, it's clearly all in good fun. After all, this is the same musician who playfully said he cried his eyes out after finding out the younger Jonas got The Voice judge gig in season 18 over him. There’s nothing like a little sibling rivalry to keep things entertaining.

The “Sexy Nick Jonas” pillow may be at a thrift store, but the real Nick Jonas sure isn’t. He’s currently playing along with his siblings for their “Jonas20” tour to commemorate the band’s 20th anniversary. Supporting acts like The All-American Rejects, Jesse McCartney, and the band’s youngest brother, Frankie, will be featured in shows playing up until December 22nd.

Not only can you see The Jonas Brothers blow you away on stage, but they’re also coming back to Disney. Soon to hit your 2025 Christmas schedule, the musical trio will be starring in A Very Jonas Christmas Movie about the pop-rock band trying to make it from London to New York in time for the holidays with their family.

Here’s the icing on the Disney cake— The Jonas Brothers will also be reuniting with Demi Lovato for Camp Rock 3! I’m already looking forward to the new tunes, humor, and chaos that will surely come from the upcoming DCOM. Maybe the “Sexy Nick Jonas” pillow will make a cameo!

I’m truly curious if Joe Jonas is the real culprit for how the “Sexy Nick Jonas” pillow ended up in a thrift store. If so, Nick Jonas is going to have to come up with some hilarious, sweet payback to send his big bro’s way. If you were growing up in the early 00s, chances are you were around for the Camp Rock movies on Disney Channel. The made-for-TV movie musical brought together the Jonas Brothers at the height of their early fame and a new star at the time, Demi Lovato, to follow the success of High School Musical. Well, apparently these former teen idols are ready to make Camp Rock a trilogy!

Camp Rock 3 Is On The Way With The Jonas Brothers Back In Their Roles

Thanks to a press release from Disney Branded Television, we can confirm Camp Rock 3 is officially on for Disney Channel and Disney+, albeit after the 2025 TV schedule has expired. The Jonas Brothers will reprise their roles as Connect 3 band members alongside a cast full of "new campers". Check out this post from the JoBros on the set of the movie:

Joe Jonas previously hinted on himself and his brothers returning to Camp Rock back while they were on an episode of Hot Ones Versus together (which came out on August 12). When challenged to read his most recent Notes app entry or eat a "death wing", he responded by reading out loud "Read Camp Rock 3" before saying "Sorry, Disney!" While it wasn't completely clear if it was a bit at the time, now we know he was being completely candid. The movie comes following their return to Disney Channel for their upcoming Christmas movie, which is among 2025 movie releases for this holiday season.

In the upcoming sequel, Connect 3 will lose their opening act for a "major reunion tour" and decide to go back to Camp Rock to find "the next big thing" as their replacement. Camp Rock 3 has already started filming in Vancouver as of this week, with a new cast of young talent, and another familiar face. Wizards Of Waverly Place's Maria Canals-Barrera will also play Connie again, who is Mitchie's mom and the camp's cook.

Joyride's Sherry Cola will play a new character named Lark. Among the young leading cast will be Descendants actress Liamani Segura as a "bold and determined" talent named Sage, her brother Desi (played by newcomer Hudson Stone), along with a cello prodigy named Rosie (Lumi Pollack), a drummer named Cliff (Casey Trotter), Brooklynn Pitts as a "choreo queen" named Callie, an "intimidating influenced named Madison (Ava Jean) and the camp bad boy Fletch (Zombies 4 actor Malachi Brown).

But, Demi Lovato Is Not Expected To Play Mitchie Again

It's exciting news, there is one caveat, Camp Rock fans. While all the Jonas Brothers are confirmed to guest star and executive produce, Demi Lovato is apparently only coming back in EP capacity rather than reprising her role as Mitchie Torres. She posted about the news on her own Instagram story. Check it:

The announcement comes just about a month after Demi Lovato and the Jonas Brothers reunited to sing Camp Rock together during the JoBros first show of their current tour celebrating two decades as a band. I can't believe that they won't reunite in Camp Rock 3 after this happened:

Of course, just because a press release doesn't say Demi Lovato has been cast, it doesn't mean there could be surprises left for fans. Lovato has been embracing her Disney Channel past a lot more on social media lately.

I would also love to see Alyson Stoner reprise her role as Mitchie's bestie Caitlyn. I certainly hope more original stars aside from Jonas Brothers make an appearance at some point in the film, but seeing them back in Camp Rock will be amazing in of itself. It's also great see Lovato involved in a producer capacity, even though I wish she had a leading role.

It feels like Taylor Swift and Selena Gomez have been friends forever. However, it’s actually been about 16 to 17 years (which might as well be forever). Over the last decade and change, the two performers have been bestie goals, and just recently, we got to see them together in images from Gomez’s birthday party. Now, the actress is opening up about how she and the pop star became BFFs, and it includes the Jonas Brothers, breakups and the hit song “Love Story.”

Selena Gomez was getting candid about friendships and the people in her life whom she can still call a friend. She ultimately quoted her pal Taylor Swift while discussing the topic on Jake Shane’s podcast Therapuss, saying “a friend to all, is a friend to none.” That led to the host asking how she met the pop star. And, well, we kind of have the Jonas Brothers to thank for the friends’ meet-cute, as she explained:

For reference, Joe and Swift dated for a few months in 2008, and so did Nick and Gomez. They were short-lived relationships, but everyone involved was (and still is) very famous, so there was a lot of attention on them.

While their relationships with Nick and Joe Jonas, obviously, didn’t work out, everyone is cool now. In fact, back when Joe and Sophie Turner were married, she interacted with Swift’s music. Also, the Jonas brother changed a lyric in a song to be more complimentary of the “Invisible String” singer.

Anyway, those relationships brought the two women together when they were teenagers, and the Only Murders in the Building star recalled what her bestie looked like back in those days, saying:

Now, this is where “Love Story” comes into the mix. When Swift and Gomez met, the Lover artist was making her second album, Fearless. That project wound up being a huge, huge hit thanks to tracks like the aforementioned one and “You Belong With Me.” However, before all that, the Rare Beauty founder got to hear “Love Story” before all of us, saying:

She then went on to call her BFF a “chamelon” and “incredible,” as she described how nervous Swift was to show her what would become a megahit. Talk about an iconic friend moment between Gomez and Swift!

Like Jake Shane was in the interview, I couldn’t help but be in shock and awe over the fact that Selena Gomez got to hear “Love Story” early. That’s seriously iconic. Also, I love how “vividly” she remembered it, too. I mean, she was witnessing musical history, so it makes sense.

I also imagine it was moments like that that really helped bond these two. Well, that and breakups, as she said:

You know, she’s right, nothing bonds teenage girls like boy troubles. However, obviously, their friendship was and still is so much more than that. Considering how much they’ve each been through, it’s amazing that they’ve always had one another to lean on.

All around, this whole story is legendary. I remember their relationships with the Jonas Brothers like they were yesterday. However, they also feel like eons ago since they’ve moved on to other long-term relationships – with Gomez being engaged to Benny Blanco and Swift dating Travis Kelce. Ultimately, this entire tale goes to show just how long these two women have been friends and how strong their bond is. Truly, they are best friend goals.

Prior to throwing on You’re Cordially Invited with my Amazon Prime Video subscription, I didn’t know a ton about the film outside of the fact Reese Witherspoon and Will Ferrell had teamed up for both verbal and physical comedy hijinks. Oh yeah, and Ferrell wrestling an alligator was somehow involved (but that joke played out far more wildly than expected). However, after watching the surprise rom-com, I learned more about the Nick Jonas cameo in the movie, and I’m loving how it came about.

In fact, director Nicholas Stoller admitted it was not his idea to bring in one of the Jonas Brothers to add some star power to the movie. He admitted to Collider he had in mind a “sexy pastor” for the marriage scenes that played out on the dock, but there was no specific cameo he was looking at. Instead, he just thought some random Hollywood hottie would be hired.

So, who came up with the idea? Apparently it was Will Ferrell himself.

It’s always a gamble nabbing people who aren’t the most known as comedic actors to come in and do parts like these. This is likely particularly true of the You’re Cordially Invited scene, which involved a boat splashing water on a slew of wedding guests before said boat turned around and knocked down the dock in question. It’s a major --if not the most major -- scene in the movie, and it sounds like Jonas was down for some hijinks with the rest of the cast.

The good news is Nick Jonas has had some experience with comedy on set, having done comedy in his Disney Channel original series before he appeared in the wildly popular Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle (a casting he's called "serendipitous" in the past). So him popping up here in the fan-proclaimed "Willerspoon" movie, while unexpected, was not completely out of left field.

He ultimately showed up in the movie in a dual wedding ceremony scene as the wedding officiant at Margot (Witherspoon)’s sister Neve's (Meredith Hanger) event. When Margot met him she clearly found him to be a handsome alternative to their hometown pastor, as did some of her relatives. When he did ultimately take over Neve’s wedding ceremony, he inexplicably dove into a rendition of Creed’s “With Arms Wide Open,’ leading to one of the film's funniest moments.

That is, just shortly before everything else went completely off the rails in the movie. (And, yes, some time before that alligator got involved.)

The holiday season may be almost a full year away, but it’s never too early to start planning. If you have a Disney+ subscription, then you can already plan what you’ll be watching come next Christmas, as the Jonas Brothers are coming “home” to Disney with an all-new Christmas movie later this year, and they announced it in the perfect way.

The Jonas Brothers, Kevin Joe, and Nick got their start as a trio on Disney’s Hollywood Records label and became superstars following regular appearances on Disney Channel via various TV series and movies. The brothers have largely been working on solo careers for years, but today Disney+ announced The Jonas Brothers Christmas Movie, a working title for a new original film starring all three of them, and the Jonas Brothers evoked Christmas classic Love, Actually making the announcement.

It’s an excellent little promo. The gag of having youngest brother Joe accidentally screw up the first take is pretty on par for the sort of humor we would get from previous Jonas Brothers productions The reveal of the Disney+ connection, assuming you didn’t know it was coming, would certainly be a huge deal for some fans. The Jonas Brothers coming together for a movie is a big deal, doing it with Disney, where they got their start, is perfect.

The Jonas Brothers Christmas Movie will star the brothers as themselves, or possibly fictionalized versions of themselves, as they once played on TV, who “ face a series of escalating obstacles as they struggle to make it from London to New York in time to spend Christmas with their families.” It’s a simple enough premise, but fans of the Jonas Brothers, especially those who became fans during their time with Disney, are probably going to be more than happy. The setup allows for plenty of comedy and plenty of music, and seriously, what else do you need?

The Jonas Brothers came about during the same era of Disney Channel programming that gave the world Miley Cyrus, Selena Gomez, and more who would use the Disney platform to build success, and then go on to do even bigger things.

The Jonas Brothers are the latest of the crowd to return to the fold. Miley Cyrus released the Disney+ music special Endless Summer Vacation (Backyard Sessions) in 2023 and was named a Disney Legend in 2024. Selena Gomez executive produces and appears in Wizards Beyond Waverly Place the sequel series to her original star vehicle.

The Jonas Brothers haven’t appeared in a film for Disney since Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam back in 2010, one of the best Disney Channel musicals. Perhaps, if this Christmas movie is a success, we can finally get the Camp Rock 3 we need we've been denied.

There are a lot of rumors swirling that the romance between Kylie Jenner and Timothée Chalamet has come to an end. The couple, who has only been seen together a handful of times during their nearly yearlong courtship, has been even more quiet than usual, with fans noticing that not even their usual tabloids have had anything to report. If the Jenner split speculation turns out to be true, it will be a shame, as she and Chalamet are the very definition of a power couple. In fact, a new study alleges they are the “most influential” pair on social media with their combined 419 million-plus Instagram followers.

Research done by BestAUCasinoSites suggests that a couple’s social media following can determine how much they are able to earn from sponsored posts, so it makes sense that as one of the most-followed people on Instagram, Kylie Jenner brings some heft to the partnership. In fact, the company suggests that the Kardashians’ little sister can earn up to $835,900 per Instagram post. Researcher Margaret Cooper discussed why being part of a power couple on social media can lead to such big paydays, saying: 

The Dune: Part Two co-stars are apparently the cream of the crop when it comes to Instagram influence, as Zendaya and Tom Holland placed fourth on the list of most-followed couples. Their combined 251 million followers could reportedly earn her $461,600 per sponsored post.

It’s interesting that these couples’ influence is driven by fans wanting a peek into their private lives and relationships, because both of the above examples have kept their romances largely close to the vest. While Zendaya has said some cute things about Tom Holland on the Dune 2 press tour and the Spider-Man: No Way Home star has had adorable ways of showing support for the Euphoria actress, her social media page does not include photos of them together.

The same can be said about Kylie Jenner and Timothée Chalamet, who have been caught making out at Beyoncé’s Renaissance Tour and again at the U.S. Open, but have never gone Instagram official. Maybe that adds intrigue for fans, as they definitely are scouring her TikTok videos hoping to catch some evidence of Chalamet in the background. 

Other powerful couples to make the list include:

• Dwayne Johnson (aka The Rock) and wife Lauren Hashian: 397.4 million combined followers for an estimated $830,000 per sponsored post.
• Kim Kardashian and Odell Beckham Jr., with rumors of a possible relationship being reignited at a Grammys party: 381.9 million followers, $777,700 per post from Kardashian and $76,200 per OBJ post.
• Kevin Hart and wife Eniko Hart: 183.5 million followers, $452,000 per Kevin post and $21,400 per Eniko post.
• Nick Jonas and Priyanka Chopra: 125.9 million followers, $266,900 per Chopra post, $129,700 per Jonas post.
• Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively: 95.1 million followers, $154,000 per Lively post and $171,500 per Renolds post.
• Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel: 86 million followers, $224,000 per Timberlake post, $63,400 per Biel post.
• Millie Bobby Brown and Jake Bongiovi: 64.5 million followers, $202,000 per Brown post, $11,000 per Bongiovi post.
• Chris Hemsworth and Elsa Pataky: 64.4 million followers, $190,600 per Hemsorth post and $33,000 per Pataky post.

Although not included in this study, it seems like Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce also belong somewhere on this list, as another company recently reported that the Eras Tour artist can make $637,300 for an Instagram post, with the NFL tight end capable of banking $34,200 from their combined 288.5 million Instagram followers.

If the rumors surrounding Kylie Jenner and Timothée Chalamet are true, they may lose their power couple status, but I’m confident they’ll both land on their feet, financially and otherwise. The Jonas Brothers have officially been back together again for a little while now and, during this period in their careers, they've been sharing even more insight into their bond. One topic of discussion that's been touched on is how competitive they can be with one another. It’s no secret that the trio have been able to branch off and do their own things at certain points. And for a certain sibling, one of those side ventures was a coaching stint on The Voice. Nick Jonas was on the NBC singing competition for Seasons 18 and 20 but, apparently, Joe Jonas also was up for the gig. And as Joe recently explained, after he didn't get it, he cried and dropped an f-bomb while at  a Fleetwood Mac concert.

The siblings were guests on the Armchair Expert with Dax Shepard podcast, where they opened up about their careers and families. At one point, Nick and Joe Jonas spoke about how they were both auditioned for the same role in Wicked, which then led to Joe admitting that he was at a Fleetwood Mac concert when he heard that he lost The Voice coaching  job to his own brother. And if that weren't enough, the news hit him while the band was playing one of its most emotional songs:

The DNCE frontman clearly wanted the job, so you can understand why the news would've been hard for him. I can't even imagine learning such a thing during “Landslide” of all songs. Despite that, it should be pointed out that Joe Jonas was actually a coach on The Voice Australia during Season 7 back in 2018 -- a full two years before his brother landed the gig for Season 18 of the  the U.S. version. Though he also coveted the other spot, it sounds like Joe was indeed happy for Nick after he landed the position:

Luckily, neither he nor brother Kevin Jonas were left out completely, though. The two actually served as advisors for the Battle rounds during Nick’s first season on the series, so while Joe wasn’t able to be an actual coach. It may not have been the full-time gig Joe was looking for, but that's not a bad consolation prize, I'd say.

The coaches have been locked down for Season 24 of The Voice, so Joe Jonas won’t get the chance to participate this time around either. Of course, the show could be on for quite some time, so there's always the possibility that he lands a coaching position at some point in the future. He already knows how it all works, thanks to his time on the show's international counterpart. So I don't see why he wouldn't at least receive some light consideration. Here's hoping that he gets a chance. Now, I need to go listen to Fleetwood Mac's "Landslide" for myself.

But first, know that Season 24 of The Voice will likely debut as part of the 2023 TV schedule in the fall. With Blake Shelton officially exiting, John Legend, Gwen Stefani, and Niall Horan are stepping back in, and country superstar Reba McEntire is making her debut as coach. We'll have to wait and see if there's hope for Joe Jonas down the line.

The world of romantic comedies and book-to-screen adaptations have converged in the form of Love Again. James C. Strouse’s adaptation of Sophie Cramer’s 2009 novel, SMS für Dich (which follows a grieving woman who sends romantic messages to her dead boyfriend’s old phone number every morning only for a reporter to receive them instead), is now in theaters, giving fans of the genre a chance to fall in love with its story and the actors who bring it to life.

Speaking of those actors…

There’s a good chance after watching Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Sam Heughan fall in love with one another, you’re wondering where you’ve seen the Love Again cast before. Well, worry no longer, for we have put together a list of why everyone looks so familiar. Well, except for Celine Dion, because who can forget her?

Priyanka Chopra Jonas (Mira Ray)

Priyanka Chopra Jonas plays one of the leads in Love Again with her portrayal of Mira Ray, a children’s book author and illustrator still struggling to overcome the death of her boyfriend two years ago. But, her journey of grief takes a drastic turn upon meeting Rob Burns.

An accomplished actress in her native India and Hollywood, Chopra Jonas has appeared in movies like The Hero, Krrish, Baywatch, Isn’t It Romantic, We Can Be Heroes, and The Matrix Resurrections. Her TV work is just as impressive, having led Quantico, and worked on the HBO Max hidden gem A World of Calm, and most recently, led the Prime Video original series, Citadel. 

Sam Heughan (Rob Burns)

Playing opposite Priyanka Chopra Jonas in the Love Again cast is Sam Heughan, who takes on the role of Rob Burns, the journalist who begins to fall in love with Mira after receiving texts sent to her dead boyfriend's old phone number.

Diehard fans of Outlander will instantly recognize Heughan from his portrayal of Jamie Fraser on the show that is about to kick off its seventh season. Let’s be real, though, even those who haven’t watched the show probably know about Heughan at this point. His other TV series include Men in Kilts: A Roadtrip with Sam and Graham, Suspect, and the upcoming, tantalizing The Couple Next Door. Heughan hasn’t made nearly as many film appearances over the years, but his list of credits is impressive with the likes of The Spy Who Dumped Me, Bloodshot, SAS: Red Notice, and multiple others. 

Celine Dion (Celine Dion)

Celine Dion shows up in the rom-com, playing a version of herself who works with Rob on his journey to find true love.

Throughout her decades-long singing career, which includes songs like “All By Myself,” “It’s All Coming Back to Me Now,” and the megahit “My Heart Will Go On” from the Titanic soundtrack, the multi-time Grammy winner has appeared in a handful of movies like Quest for Camelot and Muppets Most Wanted. She has also portrayed herself before on shows like The Nanny, Touched by an Angel, and Hell’s Kitchen. 

Russell Tovey (Billy)

Russell Tovey is in the film as Billy, Rob’s friend and colleague who helps him branch out more.

Throughout his career, which dates back to the mid ‘90s, Tovey has appeared on TV shows like Agatha Christie’s Poirot, The Bill, Doctor Who, Being Human, Sherlock, Looking, Quantico (alongside Priyanka Chopra Jonas), Years and Years, and most recently American Horror Story: NYC. Tovey has also made several film appearances throughout his career, including movies like The Lady in the Van, The Pass, The Good Liar, Allelujah, and a small part in Muppets Most Wanted, which also featured future Love Again co-star Celine Dion. 

Sofia Barclay (Suzy) 

The cast also includes Sofia Barclay, who takes on the role of Mira Ray’s supportive sister, Suzy, who tries desperately to get her back into the dating world.

Though probably not as recognizable as other members of the cast, Barclay has been quite busy since making her professional acting debut back in 2010. This includes small roles on shows like Beyond the Blade, Defending the Guilty, NYPD Blue, and We Are Lady Parts. Barclay also joined the Ted Lasso cast for a single episode during the Apple TV+ original series’ second season. She has also appeared in multiple short films over the years.

Lydia West (Lisa)

Lydia West shows up here as Lisa, another one of Rob's friends from work, one who is wise and savvy, but also extremely cynical when it comes to things like love.

Fans of Russell T. Davies’ drama series like Years and Years (alongside Love Again co-star Russell Tovey) and It’s a Sin will instantly recognize West from her star-making performances on two outstanding shows. But, if not that, then maybe fans of the 2022 BBC One and Netflix series, Inside Man, will remember the actress from her portrayal of crime journalist Beth Davenport. West has also appeared on shows like Dracula, Suspicion, and The Pentaverate. 

Arinzé Kene (John)

Arinzé Kene appears in the Love Again cast as John, Mira Ray’s deceased boyfriend whose old cell phone number was later picked up by Rob, starting the whole romantic journey at the heart of the movie.

Probably best known for his portrayal of Connor Stanley on EastEnders, Kene has also appeared on shows like Youngers, Crazyhead, Flack, and Informer. His film appearances include the likes of Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, How to Build a Girl, Been So Long, and I’m Your Woman. 

Nick Jonas (Mira's Date)

And then there is Nick Jonas, who makes a brief appearance in a scene in which he goes on an awkward date with Mira, who is played by his real-life wife, Priyanka Chopra Jonas.

In addition to his incredibly successful music career (both as a solo artist and with the Jonas Brothers) he has landed some memorable film roles throughout his career, including parts in Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle and its 2019 sequel, Chaos Walking, Midway, and Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian. He’s also landed small-screen gigs on shows like Kingdom, Scream Queens, and Hawaii Five-0, to name a few. 

Well, this about wraps up the major players in the Love Again cast. With each of the actors being busier than ever, there’s a good chance we’ll be seeing all of them again in some of the other upcoming 2023 new movie releases.

It seemed like Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Nick Jonas had a whirlwind romance. From only officially dating for a few months before getting engaged to their opulent wedding, everything seemed like it was out of a little storybook. However, the Citadel star revealed that she actually judged Jonas poorly at first, and it took a couple of years worth of convincing before she agreed to go out with her future husband, and she recently explained the amusing reason why she finally agreed to date the Jonas Brother. 

Chopra Jonas revealed that she and Nick Jonas went on their first date in May 2018 and got engaged in August of the same year to Dax Shepard on Armchair Expert. However, she clarified that they had met a couple of years earlier, and ended up playing the long game before the actress agreed to go out with the singer. She explained that in 2016 she was in a “tumultuous relationship,” and she had friends in common with her future husband who thought they’d be a good fit. Considering the ten-year age gap between the two it makes sense why she was not all that into the idea of dating him at first, however, she soon realized: 

The Quantico alum then explained that a couple of her friends played a game with her where they asked what her five non-negotiables were in a man, Chopra said:

In hindsight, it’s quite amusing to think about how Chopra Jonas had already found her perfect match, but she had been reluctant to pursue the relationship. However, eventually, she did, because she realized Nick Jonas had all the qualities she was looking for. She elaborated on these five points, and how her husband met them, saying:

Shepard then took a guess, saying he thought Chopra’s ideal man needed to be confident, and the pageant-queen-turned-actress agreed. The last point she mentioned was how she wanted “someone who [she] looked up to,” and the actress praised her husband's work ethic and thoughtfulness while talking about this quality. 

So, while that might have been the moment she realized she should date him, the moment she realized she loved him was also amazing. The Baywatch star explained this moment came “the first time” she saw him working in a studio. He was conducting a choir, and Chopra Jonas said her “knees buckled” watching him work. 

Now, the two have been married for about six years, and they have a daughter too. Also, as they raise their little girl, both have thriving careers. Nick Jonas is getting ready to release The Album with the Jonas Brothers, which will be their second album post-reunion. While Priyanka Chopra Jonas has an upcoming movie on the 2023 film schedule called Love Again and a series on the 2023 TV schedule titled Citadel, which will be available to stream with an Amazon Prime subscription. 

Overall, it seems like this power couple has it made. Due to Chopra Jonas’ non-negotiables, she found her perfect man, and now they both have thriving careers and a lovely little family. 

Despite The White Lotus being an Emmy-winning series, its stars are still just as normal as ever and even fangirl from time to time. Haley Lu Richardson, who is part of the Season 2 cast of The White Lotus, recently had one of these moments when she FaceTimed with Nick Jonas, and it was both wholesome and hilarious.

While promoting Season 2 of The White Lotus on The Late Late Show With James Corden, Haley Lu Richardson, who portrays Portia on the HBO anthology series, was taken back in time. Corden brought out a very cute picture of her with the Jonas Brothers at the height of their careers, which was about 15 years ago, and Richardson couldn’t help but share that she was definitely a Nick girl.

Richardson shared how she made Nick Jonas a tie since he was in a tie phase, but security had to take it for fear that it was dangerous. James Corden was then able to get Jonas on a video call, and the way that the actress reacted was so sweet and wholesome and filled with plenty of swearing, check it out:

It’s always sweet seeing stars fangirl and get starstruck over other stars, but it’s even more special when it’s a childhood dream come true. While Haley Lu Richardson was trying to calm herself down, she told Jonas how much he means to her, and I don’t think I have ever wanted to be someone more. Not only that, but Jonas even mentioned how he had just finished watching The White Lotus, so he was a fan of her as well.

If Haley Lu Richardson is able to keep her composure, perhaps she and Nick Jonas can star in a movie together? Or maybe it can be an animated one so they wouldn’t necessarily have to see each other during production, but Richardson can still say she worked with her celebrity crush. Either way, working with Jonas is most likely on her bucket list, but even if it doesn’t happen, video-calling him is a pretty good alternative.

Meanwhile, it’s no surprise to know that The White Lotus was renewed for a third season, as the anthology series has been very successful. Not much is known about the next season, but with it being an anthology, there will be a mostly new cast, meaning that Haley Lu Richardson and co. will probably not be coming back. Though it's still possible we could see them return to the HBO show in the future. Who know, maybe Nick Jonas could be cast in Season 3 of The White Lotus, while it feels like a longshot it's by no means impossible.

This fall, the show's milestone 30th season will hit the 2026 TV schedule, with Adam Levine looking to defend his title after winning last season's "Battle of Champions." He'll have to get through Kelly Clarkson and two talented newcomers to The Voice coaching family to do it though.

The Voice has welcomed 23 superstars so far in its 15-year history to lead the music industry hopefuls, with two more joining for Season 30. Blake Shelton was the longest-running mentor, appearing in the first 23 seasons, but an eclectic array of musicians have come and gone over the years as well. Let’s take a look at all of The Voice coaches, how many seasons they've coached, and all the artists they've led to victory.

Blake Shelton (23 Seasons, 9 Wins)

Blake Shelton is the leader of the pack when it comes to The Voice coaches in both longevity and wins. The longest-serving coach collected nine wins during his 23-season tenure, and he must have left his mark on the artists, as all nine of them showed up to surprise Shelton on his final episode with an emotional group performance. The cowboy returned for the Season 27 finale, but only to perform.

Season 2: Jermaine Paul. Blake Shelton got his first win fairly quickly in The Voice’s run, winning the second season with R&B singer Paul.

Season 3: Cassadee Pope. Country pop singer Pope has released four studio albums since The Voice, and her duet with country singer Chris Young, “Think of You.” went No. 1 on the US Country Airplay chart in 2016.

Season 4: Danielle Bradbery. Blake Shelton completed a three-peat with then-16-year-old Bradbery. She is among artists who found success after The Voice.

Season 7: Craig Wayne Boyd. Team Blake bested three Adam Levine team members in this finale, giving Boyd the crown.

Season 11: Sundance Head. In 2016, Sundance Head beat out competitors who included former child star Billy Gilman. Head was one of many singers on The Voice who also competed on American Idol, and he made headlines in 2024 after accidentally shooting himself in the stomach. He continues to tour as of 2026 and appears to have made a full recovery.

Season 13: Chloe Kohanski. Following her win, Kohanski gave us some behind-the-scenes info about The Voice. In 2019, she began performing as chloe mk, and in 2021 she released the album, All the Same All OK.

Season 18: Todd Tilghman. Pastor and father of eight Tilghman became Shelton’s seventh champion on The Voice. At 42 years old, he is the oldest contestant to win the show.

Season 20: Cam Anthony. The coach’s strategy of clearing the lane for Anthony to be the only R&B singer on his team paid off, as he “changed the show forever” and gave the cowboy an eighth victory.

Season 22: Bryce Leatherwood. This classic country singer used negative online feedback to fuel his upset victory in his coach's penultimate season. Leatherwood sang hits by George Strait, Travis Tritt, Keith Whitley and more en route to the trophy and stands as Blake Shelton’s final champion.

Kelly Clarkson (10 Seasons, 4 Wins)

Blake Shelton may have the most victories, but Kelly Clarkson has notched a pretty impressive win rate, winning 4 out of the 10 times she’s coached (Seasons 14-21, 23, 29). The American Idol OG champ stepped away from The Voice in 2023, whenThe Kelly Clarkson Show's production moved to New York City. She performed in the Season 27 finale before returning as a coach for Season 29, and she'll be back in the Big Red Chairs for Season 30.

Season 14: Brynn Cartelli. In her first year on The Voice, Kelly Clarkson gave A+ advice, leading this 15-year-old pop singer to victory. Cartelli stands as the competition’s youngest winner.

Season 15: Chevel Shepherd. Make that 2-for-2 for the “Breakaway” singer, as 16-year-old Shepherd became the first country artist to win on a team other than Blake Shelton’s.

Season 17: Jake Hoot. This country singer was “in shock” after giving Kelly Clarkson her third win in four seasons. He returned for Season 29's "All-Star Showdown," where he "broke" Kelly Clarkson but also helped her win an extra spot in the finale.

Season 21: Girl Named Tom. This folk trio comprising siblings Joshua, Caleb, and Bekah Liechty made history as the first group to ever win The Voice. They joined Jake Hoot in representing their former coach in Season 29's All-Star contest.

Adam Levine (18 Seasons, 4 Wins)

One of the original coaches, Maroon 5 singer Adam Levine served on the panel for the first 16 seasons, contributing to some of the wildest moments in The Voice’s history and forming bromantic rivalry with Blake Shelton. He exited the show ahead of Season 17 for 10 seasons before returning for the 27th and 29th cycles of the competition in 2025 and 2026. He has earned four victories overall, including Season 29's Battle of Champions, and he's confirmed that he'll be back for Season 30.

Season 1: Javier Colon. Adam Levine started off with a bang, taking this singer-songwriter all the way to the end, to be crowned the first champion of The Voice. Colon returned to represent his coach in Season 29's "In-Season All-Star Competition."

Season 5: Tessanne Chin. This Jamaican artist beat out some strong competition in Jacquie Lee and Will Champlin to give the Maroon 5 frontman his second win.

Season 9: Jordan Smith. The singer-songwriter blew all of his competition out of the water, coasting to a victory in 2015. In 2022 he also represented Kentucky on NBC’s American Song Contest, and he joined Javier Colon in Season 29's All-Star Competition.

Season 29: Alexia Jayy. John Legend really shot himself in the foot with this artist, and Adam Levine took her all the way to the finish line in a season full of stunning covers of songs by Aretha Franklin, Whitney Houston, Adele and more.

John Legend (11 Seasons, 1 Win)

EGOT winner John Legend has been a pretty regular figure on The Voice panel since 2019 but has garnered just one victory so far. Legend served as a coach on The Voice on Seasons 16-22, 24, 25, 27 and 29.

Season 16: Maelyn Jarmon. The folk singer wowed voters with her finale covers of Hallelujah and Unforgettable. Funnily, she said the competition was not as stressful to her as the final season of Game of Thrones. Jarmon represented John Legend in Season 29's All-Star competition, along with Season 27 finalist Renzo.

Christina Aguilera (6 Seasons, 1 Win)

Another one of the original panel, Christina Aguilera appeared on six of the first 10 seasons of the NBC competition show (1-3, 5, 8, 10), and won in her final appearance. Two years after her exit, the “Genie in a Bottle” singer said that by Season 10, The Voice had become less about music and more about making good TV moments.

Season 10: Alisan Porter. Some viewers may have recognized the eventual winner from her roles as a child actor, including the titular character of 1991’s Curly Sue. Porter’s victory made Christina Aguilera the first female coach to win a season.

Gwen Stefani (8 Seasons, 1 Win)

The No Doubt frontwoman joined the cast of The Voice in fall 2014, and has scored one win in her eight seasons so far (7, 9, 12, 17, 19, 22, 24 and 26). At the time of her first appearance, she and Blake Shelton were both going through divorces. Fans got to watch their friendship blossom into romance, and in Season 22, they were the show’s first husband-and-wife couple to go to battle. Stefani has appeared on two seasons since Shelton left, but only time will tell if she'll continue to return.

Season 19: Carter Rubin. The 15-year-old pop singer gave Gwen Stefani her first win — beating out two members of her then-fiancé’s team — and became the youngest male winner in series history.

Pharrell Williams (4 Seasons 1 Win)

The “Happy” singer was added to The Voice’s panel in Season 7. He stayed in the Big Red Chairs through Season 10, winning his sophomore effort.

Season 8: Sawyer Fredericks. Following his win at just 16 year's old, Fredericks recorded three albums while touring and playing events for charities, including St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital. He is one of several celebrity relatives to compete on The Voice.

Alicia Keys (3 Seasons, 1 Win)

Alicia Keys brought a cool and positive vibe to the panel for Seasons 11 and 12 — winning in her second season — before leaving to record an album. She came back one last time for Season 14 and performed in the Season 27 finale.

Season 12: Chris Blue. The soul singer was the very last contestant picked on this season, completing Keys’ team. This was the only season that the last singer chosen has won the whole competition.

Usher (2 Seasons, 1 Win)

Season 4 marked the first time The Voice switched up its coaches, and Usher came on replacing CeeLo Green. The “My Way” crooner made a second appearance in Season 6, notching his first and only win.

Season 6: Josh Kaufman. Kaufman started his Voice journey on Adam Levine’s team but was stolen by Usher in the Battles. Following the show he joined the Broadway cast of Pippin, and was the last person to play the title role before the revival closed in 2015.

CeeLo Green (4 Seasons, 0 Wins)

OG coach CeeLo Green appeared on Seasons 1-3 before stepping away in Season 4. He returned for Season 5 for a final season. The Gnarls Barkley member brought a certain flair to the panel, as he was often accompanied by his cat and tended to choose more unique artists than his counterparts. Those choices, however, did not translate to wins.

CeeLo Green has returned to The Voice a couple times since his exit, performing on Blake Shelton's final episode, and serving as a Mega Mentor and the judge of the All-Star Competition in Season 29.

Shakira (2 Seasons, 0 Wins)

The “Hips Don’t Lie” singer filled in for Christina Aguilera on Seasons 4 and 6, failing to bring an artist to the finale in both seasons.

Jennifer Hudson (2 Seasons, 0 Wins)

American Idol alum Jennifer Hudson is probably best remembered for throwing her shoes at the performances she deemed most impressive. She appeared on two seasons (13 and 15), but got no wins. J-Hud returned as a Mega Mentor for Reba McEntire and Michael Bublé’s teams in Season 26, filled in for Kelly Clarkson during the Battles in Season 29, and has also coached on three seasons of The Voice UK.

Miley Cyrus (2 Seasons, 0 Wins)

The addition of Miley Cyrus to Season 11, along with Alicia Keys, marked the first time the singing competition featured two female coaches. She returned in Season 13, but the “Wrecking Ball” singer never earned a win.

Nick Jonas (2 Seasons, 0 Wins)

Nick Jonas adorned the Big Red Chair in Seasons 18 and 20. While having an artist appear in the finale both seasons, he also failed to take them to victory.

Ariana Grande (1 Season, 0 Wins)

Pop singer Ariana Grande got some good zingers in on Blake Shelton, however, in her sole appearance on the show — Season 21 — she had no artists representing her in the finale. The Wicked star has since said she got too emotionally attached to her team and has no plans to return.

Camila Cabello (1 Season, 0 Wins)

Camila Cabello proved she was a force to be reckoned with in her first time on The Voice. In Season 22 she took one artist, Morgan Myles, to the finale, but was unable to wrestle the win away from the cowboy, Blake Shelton.

Chance the Rapper (2 Seasons, 0 Wins)

Chance the Rapper made his debut on The Voice in Season 23, then returned in Season 25. The three-time Grammy Award winner took sister trio Sorelle to the finals in his rookie season but failed to secure an artist in the Season 25 finals. In the Season 27 finale, Chance the Rapper appeared as a performer.

Niall Horan (3 Seasons, 3 Wins)

Former One Direction member Niall Horan joined The Voice family in Season 23, where he struck up a hilariously strong father/son bond with outgoing coach Blake Shelton. It seems the nut didn't fall far from the tree, as Horan has gone undefeated in his three seasons on the show. He stands as the only undefeated coach and the first coach to win their first three seasons (Kelly Clarkson and Michael Bublé won their first two).

Niall Horan joins Blake Shelton as the only two coaches to win three attempts in a row, though Horan's were not in consecutive seasons like Shelton's were (Seasons 2-4).

Season 23: Gina Miles. The soft-spoken 18-year-old spoiled Blake Shelton's goodbye season, edging country singer Grace West in what Carson Daly said was the smallest margin of victory in the show's 23 seasons.

Season 24: Huntley. Niall Horan's long-haired rocker was up against some stiff competition, as all five artists in the Season 24 finale were Four-Chair Turns. He brought it home, though, making it two in a row for his coach.

Season 28: Aidan Ross. The 20-year-old from Texas earned a Four-Chair Turn as the first artist to take the stage for Blind Auditions on his season. He chose to go with Niall Horan and the two never looked back. Halfway through the season, fans were already calling him the winner.

Reba McEntire (4 Seasons, 1 Win)

Reba McEntire joined The Voice for Season 24, replacing fellow country superstar Blake Shelton, and then returned in Seasons 25, 26 and 28. Even before that, though, the three-time Grammy winner had been a friend of the show, helping Team Blake in Season 1, returning in Season 8 and serving as Mega Mentor in Season 23. She has notched one victory on her Voice belt.

Season 25: Asher HaVon. Asher HaVon, a 31–year-old singer from Selma, Alabama, dominated the competition, to the point that after his finale performances, both John Legend and Chance the Rapper agreed the Team Reba singer should win. HaVon was reportedly the first openly LGBTQ+ contestant to win The Voice.

Dan + Shay (1 Season, 0 Wins)

The Voice made history in Season 25 by introducing the Double Big Red Chair for country/pop duo Dan + Shay. The singers were longtime friends of the show, performing with past contestants, serving as Blake Shelton's advisor in Season 20 and filling in for Niall Horan for the Battles in Season 24. Dan + Shay have won three Grammy Awards and had hits with The Voice coaching phenom Kelly Clarkson, as well as Justin Bieber, but were unable to secure a win in their lone season.

Snoop Dogg (2 Seasons, 0 Wins)

Snoop Dogg was apparently so impressive during his gig as the Season 20 Mega Mentor that NBC wanted to bring him on full time. The West Coast rapper and Winter Olympics correspondant joined the coaching panel for the competition’s 26th cycle, and while he suggested he might be one-and-done as a coach, the Gangster Holy Ghost brought him back to the Big Red Chair for Season 28.

Michael Bublé (3 Seasons, 2 Wins)

Season 26 was Michael Bublé's first as a coach, as the five-time Grammy winner appeared on Season 3 as the Battle Advisor for Blake Shelton’s team. The “Home” singer became the fourth coach to win his rookie season (after Kelly Clarkson, John Legend and Niall Horan) and the first coach ever to have both the winner and second-place finisher on their first season. (I think he was also the first coach to break their chair.)

He became the third coach after Clarkson and Horan to win their first two seasons, but he couldn't complete the hat trick, losing to fellow (and still) unbeaten mentor Niall Horan in Season 28. Bublé returned as a Battle Advisor in Season 29.

Season 26: Sofronio Vasquez. The 31-year-old from the Philippines and New York became the first Filipino singer to win the competition. He was a Four-Chair Turn who captivated America with covers of artists including Mary J. Blige, Sia and Elvis. Following his win, Michael Bublé announced he was producing Vasquez's EP.

Season 27: Adam David. The blues rocker was a one-chair turn in the Blind Auditions and then needed the help of the Instant Save to make it past the Semifinals, but the 34-year-old from Florida brought home the big prize in the end.

Kelsea Ballerini (1 Season, 0 Wins)

Kelsea Ballerini made her debut in Season 27. As a longtime friend of the singing competition, the country-pop singer served as an honorary fifth coach on Season 15, was Kelly Clarkson’s advisor in Season 16 and filled in for the “Since U Been Gone” singer when she was sick in Season 20.

Queen Latifah: Incoming Rookie

We've talked a lot about Reba McEntire being the "Queen of Country" on The Voice, but Season 30 will see true music royalty in the house when Queen Latifah joins the coaching panel. With a career dating back to the 1980s, this superstar is a Grammy, Emmy and Golden Globe winner with an Oscar nomination for the 2002 musical Chicago. I'll be seated.

Riley Green: Incoming Rookie

Country music star and actor Riley Green will also make his debut on The Voice in Season 30, but he's no stranger to the show — Green performed on the finales for Seasons 26 and 28. Also, it sounds like he's living rent-free in Kelly Clarkson's head, because apparently she started trash-talking before production even began.

I'm super pumped to see if Adam Levine can capitalize on his latest victory, but I'd love to see Kelly Clarkson walk away with another win. On the other hand, I'd never underestimate Queen Latifah, and Riley Green is sure having a moment, so whichever way it goes, Season 30 should bring great things.

After the billion-dollar success of Top Gun: Maverick, Glen Powell has become a hot commodity in Hollywood after following Tom Cruise's meaningful piece of advice. With moviegoers wondering about his next move, Powell’s first post-Maverick project was just announced featuring a reunion with a former co-star. The actor is teaming up with a Jonas Brother for this new project so here’s hoping there’s a shirtless football scene.

Deadline reported the Maverick breakout star will star alongside Jumanji: The Next Level’s Nick Jonas in the buddy comedy Foreign Relations for Amazon Studios. The film will mark the first time the two actors have starred together since Season 1 of Fox’s Scream Queens as best buds Chad Radwell and Boone Clemens. Before the streamer was announced as the film’s home, the property was a hot commodity in Hollywood with a bidding war between multiple streaming platforms and studios, as previously reported by the publication. Outside of the pitch, there isn’t much known about Powell and Jonas’ characters or the film’s plot.

Amazon becoming the comedy film’s home added another powerhouse to the already stacked project. Marry Me director Kat Coiro will direct the upcoming film with rising TV and film writer Charlie Kesslering penning the script. Along with starring in the project, Jonas and Powell will produce the comedy alongside Pitch Perfect’s Elizabeth Banks and husband Max Handelman under their Brownstone Productions banner. Brownstone’s Alison Small will serve as a producer as well.

Of course, it’s nice to see the worlds of Top Gun and Jumanji come together, but the real question is… will there be a shirtless football scene? While there might not be a reason for one, it would be detrimental to movie audiences to not see a shirtless Powell after seeing his well-toned body in Maverick. But Jonas hasn’t been a slouch in the fitness department either as seen on his Instagram. Numerous magazine spreads and TV and film appearances have shown the work he has put into his body over the years. Whether it’s a beach football scene or another opportunity, seeing both actors shirtless at one point could lead to another viral moment. Let’s hope Powell can hold off chowing down this time until after the scene is completed.

This marks the second movie where Glenn Powell will co-star with a Jonas brother. He will also star in another war drama Devotion along with Joe Jonas and Creed III’s Jonathan Majors. The younger Jonas is currently a judge (or creator) on the NBC dance competition Dancing with Myself with fellow former Voice coach Shakira.

Right now, there’s been no announcement of a production or release date or more casting news. Twin sisters Tia and Tamera Mowry have shared the screen with their little brother, Tahj, several times - most notably as guest stars on each other’s respective sitcoms, Sister, Sister and Smart Guy, and in the 2000 Showtime original movie, Seventeen Again.

Kevin, Nick, And Joe Jonas (Camp Rock Movies, Jonas)

Back when they were the biggest thing to come out of Disney Channel, Kevin, Nick, and Joe Jonas played three brothers in a band not named the Jonas Brothers in the Camp Rock movies, and later played themselves to more comedic effect in their own sitcom, aptly titled Jonas.

Looks like talent really does run in the family.

Singer Nick Jonas and actress Priyanka Chopra have been married since 2018, and now the couple has come forward with some great (and surprising) news. They are officially parents after the birth of their first child! The impending arrival of the baby didn't make news prior to the birth due to their use of a surrogate. Congratulations to the new parents!

The two celebrities made the announcement of the birth of their first child via social media, with Nick Jonas and Priyanka Chopra posting messages almost simultaneously on their respective Instagram accounts, with a heart emoji and tag of each other as the only captions. They both wrote: 

The news of the birth of their child (whose name and sex have not been disclosed at the time of writing) comes just months after rumors swirled that the couple was on the verge of splitting and were known to sometimes have to spend significant periods of time apart due to their jobs, although Chopra did what she could to dispel those rumors by getting flirty with her husband. Hopefully fans respect their wish for privacy while they enjoy their time with their child. 

Their lack of public statement about having a baby on the way, combined with the use of a surrogate, has meant that many people have been taken by surprise by the happy news. Plus, the most recent post from either of the new parents was an Instagram Story that Priyanka Chopra shared about 12 hours before announcing the arrival of their baby, and it was completely unrelated to any sign that she was already or soon to be a mother, but instead giving "kudos" to Unicef India. 

The congratulations have poured in on both of their Instagram posts, including a verified heart emoji comment from two of the other three Jonas brothers (not to be confused with the Jonas Brothers band): Joe Jonas and Kevin Jonas, who are now uncles yet again. Joe is already father to one child with wife (and Game of Thrones alum) Sophie Turner, while Kevin is father to two daughters. The extended Jonas family just keeps getting bigger!

Only time will tell what's next for the happy couple upon the birth of their first child. Both have successful careers, with another series starring Chopra expected to debut later in 2022 alongside Game of Thrones' Richard Madden, and she made her big break into American pop culture when she starred in ABC's Quantico starting back in 2015. For his part, Jonas has continued working on projects with his brothers, along with joining The Voice as a coach, not to mention some promotion for the 2021 Olympics with his brothers that delivered some big laughs.

Congratulations to Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas again, and good luck to them in (hopefully) enjoying some privacy with their child. 

If there is one true pastime across the world which doesn’t involve the use of sports balls and manages to blast right through any potential cultural barriers, it is speculation over the romantic lives of the rich and famous. We love to talk about who might be dating, marrying, and / or divorcing, and after a whirlwind courtship and lavish wedding, rumors of the latter have now hit Nick Jonas and Priyanka Chopra. But, after such talk of a split began, Chopra found time to get mighty flirty with her husband online.

Now, while we’ve talked before about how Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas seem to spend very little time together, even for a super-busy actress / pop star mega-couple, there haven’t been major rumors about them potentially splitting until just recently. And, after fans began to speculate on the state of their marriage last week, Chopra decided to get her Instagram flirt on after Jonas posted a short video of himself working on his arm strength. Let’s take a look at his post, and then put a spotlight on Chopra’s response:

OK, so, nice job Jonas. He’s got those guns workin’ and veins poppin.’ Plenty of fans loved the look of what the sometime The Voice coach had going on, and even though we’ve certainly seen other celebs working out with much heavier weights and giving us much bigger biceps, no one is going to complain about his efforts here. That includes his wife of nearly three years, and Chopra left this flirty comment on his post:

Well, it would seem that Priyanka Chopra is still a big fan of what Nick Jonas is throwing down. I mean, just look at those emojis! So, how did rumors of an impending split even get started for these two? The answer is actually easy to see in the above comment, as Chopra dropped the Jonas part of her surname just last week.

After the duo married in a three-day wedding celebration, which took place during the first weekend of December in 2018, fans saw the Quantico star (who will be seen in The Matrix Resurrections soon), add her new husband’s name to hers professionally, and on all her social media. But, just last week, her sharp-eyed followers noticed that she removed the name without making any mention of why. This, of course, led many people to think that a divorce announcement must be imminent. 

It was just early this month that Jonas and Chopra celebrated Diwali together, and Chopra took to Instagram to reflect on both their first celebration of the holiday in their “first home together,” and Jonas as “the best husband and partner,” but many fans who live for the intricacies of the romantic lives of superstars are unlikely to take either that, or her recent comment, as a sign that all is well.

The truth, as we know by now, is that if Nick Jonas and Priyanka Chopra are having trouble, they don’t have to tell anyone if they don’t want to. She could have easily decided to drop her married name for a professional reason that has nothing to do with the state of their union. This means that it would probably be a good idea for all of us to just wait and see what happens, and to continue to wish them the best, regardless of their relationship status. 

Though the Jonas Brothers are currently wrapping up their most recent tour, their next collaboration is already set: a roast special! Kevin, Joe and Nick Jonas will all be on the frontlines when some of their famous friends come together to drop some zingers at their expense, and it'll be on Netflix for their fans to see. So bring on those "Burnin' Up" jokes!

The trio of brothers, who made their major comeback in 2019 after a several-year hiatus, jointly confirmed that they would be at the center of the new Netflix comedy special, appropriately titled Jonas Brothers Family Roast. In the hilarious announcement video, Nick and Kevin try to explain the idea of the roast and reveal who's set to take part in it. All the while, Joe Jonas merely repeats the word “Roasted,” because he’s not too sure how it actually works. 

The special, hosted by SNL icon Kenan Thompson, is said to include sketches, songs and games. The lineup of roasters includes Niall Horan, Pete Davidson, Gabriel “Fluffy” Iglesias, John Legend, Lilly Singh, Jack Whitehall and more. Jokes will likely zero in on the group’s Disney days, some of their earlier songs, and Joe and Nick Jonas' highly publicized relationships over the years. Nick is said to have been the cause of the band's initial breakup, so that could also come up once or twice. Of course, the siblings are only the latest stars to have a roast in their honor. Plenty of celebrities have been in the hot seat (thanks to networks like Comedy Central), from musician Justin Bieber to actor James Franco. Even Two and a Half Men vet Charlie Sheen and comedy legend Bob Saget have been on the receiving end of some major jokes. Ultimately, such an event results in a hilarious time for viewers and those involved.

From what viewers have seen in the past, there's usually no limit when it comes to the jokes, so it’s going to be interesting to see what everyone comes up with. The Jonas Brothers were “the” boy band in the mid 2000s, thanks in large part to their presence on Disney Channel. It'll be interesting to see how the roasters play on that key fact.

Jonas Brothers Family Roast premieres worldwide on Netflix in November, just in time for Thanksgiving. So it would seem that turkeys won't be the only things getting roasted over the holiday. The three brothers are the type of guys who can take a joke, so there likely won't be any hard feelings by the end of it.

One of the appeals to NBC’s The Voice is that the coaches have some interesting chemistry with one another, and two celebrities who have worked on the show even tied the knot recently. Coaches on the singing talent show tend to have a somewhat harsh sense of humor with one another, creating a friendly roast type of atmosphere for those sitting in one of the big, red swiveling coaches’ chairs. Two of the celebrities who have sat in the coach chair on The Voice, Nick Jonas and Kelly Clarkson, open up about how they really feel about all the ribbing that goes on during The Voice.

Nick Jonas sat down with Kelly Clarkson on her own The Kelly Clarkson Show and they chatted about their experience working on The Voice. Apparently all the smack talk and slight digs don’t bother Clarkson at all, as she says she is pretty hard to offend. Here it is in her own words:

Kelly Clarkson has been on the show since Season 14; compared to her, Nick Jonas is a total newbie. His first season was Season 18 and he returned for Season 20, taking a one-season break in between. He may not be so used to the jokes that are slung from coach to coach on the show, because he responds to Clarkson’s experience with the jokes with his own, and it would seem he is a little more easily rattled than the more experienced artist. Here’s what Jonas says about the sometimes hurtful zingers:

Nick Jonas most likely knows that what is said on The Voice is typically all in good fun, although Kelly Clarkson says she’ll give him an apology hug later for any harm she may have caused during their time together on the show. Even so, it’s possible the jokes are just too much for Jonas, because he will not be returning for the next season. Instead, Arianna Grande will be on the coaches panel in Season 21.

Maybe it was the lack of sympathy he got for his hospital visit that is keeping him from sitting in that coach chair for The Voice. More likely, though, it is due to a conflict with another project. At least, that is most likely what happened with his Season 19 absence, as he had quite a lot going on the past couple years, including a part alongside Tom Holland in Chaos Walking.

As for Kelly Clarkson, her tolerance for questionable humor and trash talk holds up as she is returning as a coach for Season 21 this September. You’ll be able to tune into all the coaches and their roasts via NBC or by live streaming on Peacock.

The Jonas Brothers rose to superstardom, all while living together and working together for many years. Eventually, those circumstances became rather intolerable for The Voice’s Nick Jonas. The second youngest Jonas’ issues with the group came as a surprise to sibling Joe Jonas, and years after their contentious breakup, the latter got candid about the moment his brother Nick decided to depart the top-selling music group.

The Jonas Brothers’ breakup was big news in the music world in 2013, and since then, they’ve thankfully repaired their relationship and got back together to even greater success. But that initial breakup was devastating to more than just fans, as Joe Jonas revealed in a shared excerpt from the brothers' upcoming memoir Blood that hinted at the stir of emotions he felt after his brother’s surprising announcement:

The memoir segment marks the first time the second oldest Jonas shared any thoughts at length about the group’s news-making breakup. And fans will no doubt be held rapt by Joe Jonas' insight into the moment the second youngest Jonas announced his departure from the best-selling boy band. One can only assume that story continues beyond what he shared on Instagram, which also featured this bit:

Joe Jonas tends to keep things positive in interviews, and things have been quite positive indeed with his wife Sophie Turner and their infant son. And given their eventual reunion, it's clear that the Jonas Brothers continued building up their friendship and family connection outside of being a musical group. Sometimes, a huge breakdown is needed to rebuild a stronger foundation, and being blood brothers definitely made the situation easier for the second oldest Jonas.

The group’s headline-making dissolution had been brewing for a while prior to it going public. The first sign of problems between the brothers was the cancellation of their stadium tour two days before it was set to begin. They cited a deep rift in the group, leading to fans questioning the band’s future. Eventually, the pop band announced their breakup. After their disbandment, each brother experienced varying solo success before the Jonas Brothers reunited in 2019. The brothers admitted their reunion was the result of them spending a year in therapy, one of possibly few career elements they share with hard rock group Metallica.

As stated in the post, the Jonas siblings' book will be released on November 9, 2021, and should make a fine addition to any Thanksgiving table.

Things got a little hectic ahead of The Voice's Live Top 9 performances on Monday night, with reports surfacing that coach Nick Jonas had been hospitalized for unknown injuries, without many details being revealed. What was known was that the trip to the hospital wasn't going to keep him away from his weekly NBC gig, meaning Team Nick didn't have to worry about Blake Shelton sabotaging everything in his absence. Thankfully, Jonas did give everyone a quick update on his physical situation.

As soon as The Voice's most recent episode kicked off, Carson Daly wrapped his opening thoughts by turning the focus to Nick Jonas to ask how he was doing, to which the actor and pop star replied with:

That notion is likely one that would make former Voice coach Adam Levine guffaw himself into oblivion: the thought of Blake Shelton being funny enough to make anyone laugh. (Well okay, I guess when he makes mistakes, it's rather amusing.) Naturally, the country music superstar had an amusing comeback for Nick Jonas and his injuries, saying:

It remains to be seen, however, whether or not Nick Jonas' admission on The Voice actually was enough to pull in enough sympathy votes to make a difference, since the Top 9 results are yet to be revealed. Team Jonas had artists Rachel Mac and Dana Monique performing Christina Perry's "Human" and Silk Sonic's "Leave the Door Open," respectively. And while I think many can agree Team Blake's Cam Anthony is a consistent jaw-dropper, with his performance of Boyz II Men's "It's So Hard to Say Goodbye to Yesterday" only enforcing that opinion.

Curiously, neither Nick Jonas nor anyone else was very up front about what it was that Nick Jonas was doing when he injured his ribs on a bike. It's presumed he wasn't taking riding lessons from America's Got Talent judge Simon Cowell, who famously broke his back using a motorized bike. It was reported by TMZ that Jonas is possibly in the midst of filming a secret project of some kind, though it's not known if this would be for a movie, a TV show, a music video or anything else. Here's hoping it wasn't a commercial for some kind of rib-punching device, since that clearly wouldn't be ideal for him. Or for anyone, I guess, except for maybe Blake Shelton, of course.

Hopefully fans can learn soon what it was that Nick Jonas was filming when he injured himself, but we're even more hopeful that Jonas can stay out of the hospital. The Voice has finally wrapped its first round of competition in Season 20, and this year's edition of the Blind Auditions brought us plenty of laugh-out-loud moments, such as Blake Shelton not recognizing a musician from his past and John Legend taking shots at Grey’s Anatomy. But something we didn’t see a whole lot of this season was the coveted Four-Chair Turn.

Only four contestants during The Voice's 10th anniversary season inspired all four superstar coaches to turn their chairs for a chance to see and work with the talents behind the performances. Kenzie Wheeler, Team Kelly

Country singer Kenzie Wheeler kicked Season 20 off in a strong way with a classic country hit, “Don’t Close Your Eyes,” by the late legend Keith Whitley, which led to Kelly Clarkson’s no-brainer block of Blake Shelton. (And if she hadn’t blocked him, Nick Jonas would have.) The unicorn, as Shelton called him, with the triple-threat mullet has a deep voice and even deeper twang that makes him sound older than 22 years old.

Country artists often make it far on The Voice, with or without Blake Shelton leading the charge. I think the biggest obstacle Wheeler might face is how many other country artists he’s up against. Luckily for him, there are no other strictly country artists on Team Kelly, so it’s likely she’ll want to keep him around as long as she has the power and need to do so.

Zae Romeo, Team Nick

Zae Romeo won America over with his story before he even sang a note. The 20-year-old’s emotional tale of growing up in foster care was followed by an equally charged performance of Harry Styles’ “Falling,” and the four coaches each connected with his vulnerability. Romeo has impressive range and a gorgeous vibrato that allowed for some really cool runs.

I think Nick Jonas will prove to be the perfect coach for Zae Romeo, as they share taste in music and a similar vocal range. The coaches noted that it wasn’t a perfect showing for Romeo, but coaching is what The Voice is all about. He’s got the talent, and with Jonas’ training and a few nifty mentors, I think Romeo could be a front-runner to win this season.

Avery Roberson, Team Blake

Avery Roberson is another young country singer with a deep voice, and he drew all the coaches’ attention with a solid rendition of Tim McGraw’s “If You’re Reading This.” Roberson kept his runs to a minimum, exuding confidence in his sustained, pitch-perfect notes. Even Kelly Clarkson noted that it wasn’t the kind of performance you’d expect to land a Four-Chair Turn, but I think it was exactly Roberson's consistency that inspired the seasoned singers to swing those chairs around.

Not surprisingly, Avery Roberson joined Blake Shelton’s team, where he’ll have more competition in the country category and thus a potentially harder road to travel heading to the live shows. But his ability to woo all four judges shows he has appeal across all genres, and that might be what sets him apart on Team Blake.

Anna Grace, Team Kelly

Anna Grace wowed everyone watching with a cool performance of Billie Eilish’s “my future,” and her songs are definitely not easy to do well. All four coaches opted in, but Grace only had eyes for Kelly Clarkson, and the daytime talk show host wasted no time in pledging allegiance, giving the 20-year-old tips before she was even officially picked as the hopeful's coach. It’s so much fun to see Clarkson work with young female artists on The Voice, given her own background in singing competitions.

Kelly Clarkson said she’s already got some song ideas for Anna Grace’s particular voice, and I’m hoping they stay in a similar vein to this audition piece, because that haunting tone should put her in a unique position among the other contestants. Something like Eliza Shaddad's cover of Nina Simone's "Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood," which was showcased in Netflix's twisty thriller Behind Her Eyes.

John Legend went 0-for-4 in landing a Four-Chair Turn on his team this season, but should any of these contestants get taken down in the next rounds, he'll have another shot at picking one of them up. Next week the competition moves to the Battle Rounds, and after six episodes of Blind Auditions, I’m ready to see what the artists have in store for viewers next. It’ll be interesting to see how the Four-Chair Turns grow with the coaches they’ve chosen, and ultimately to see if they can find success after the show.

Minor spoilers ahead for the first three episodes of The Voice, Season 20.

In its 20 seasons, The Voice has often made adjustments to its process, such as changing the number of members on each team, introducing Steals and Saves, and inviting celebrity advisers and mentors. Most of the changes have seemingly served the contestants' best interests. Guest mentors give artists added perspective, Instant Saves give the audience chances to keep their favorite singers around, and Steals allow otherwise-eliminated artists to work with multiple coaches while extending their time in the spotlight. But there’s one aspect of The Voice that the producers should do away with, as it actually might be counterintuitive to the artists’ experience — the Blocks in the Blind Auditions.

On Night 3 of the Blind Auditions, the final Block of Season 20 was used, when John Legend blocked Nick Jonas as the two vied for Ciana Pelekai. Honestly I’m glad that part of the competition is done. It makes me itchy waiting for the coaches get rid of their Blocks so The Voice can proceed as it should. I was relieved when two of the first three auditions of Season 20’s premiere saw Kelly Clarkson blocking Blake Shelton to get four-chair turn Kenzie Wheeler, and possible front-runner Jonas blocking Legend from adding Cam Anthony. Shelton then used his Block on Night 2. Let’s take a look at the reasons it’s time to change the rules again and get rid of Blocks.

Blocks Take Control And Focus Away From The Voice's Artists

For the most part, coaches being able to block each other is played for comedic value, and it is admittedly funny to see a coach turn for an artist they’re interested in, only to have them to see “Blocked” in big red letters by their chair. Okay, it’s even more hilarious when the coach doesn’t immediately realize they’ve been blocked, since it only adds to their anguish when they finally do. Blocks are also strategic, of course, as coaches might think they have a better chance at an artist if a fellow coach of a particular genre is out of the picture.

But as the artists are already limited to choosing from whatever coaches turned for them, blocks take even more control away from the already nerve-ridden hopefuls, and on a show whose mission is to help propel the contestants to success in the music industry. This tool shifts the focus away from the talent and more onto the coaches and what kind of teams they’re building, when ultimately The Voice is not a team competition.

Blocks Keep Contestants From Working With The Coach They Want

Getting a chance to perform and possibly work with music legends on The Voice is a huge opportunity for those auditioning, many of whom have struggled in overcoming extreme circumstances to get to this stage. Why rob them of the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to work with the coach they think could best help them? Of course, there’s something to be said for getting opinions from musicians outside of your genre, but that decision should be left to the artist.

It’s understandable from a strategy standpoint why Kelly Clarkson would block Blake Shelton to give herself a better chance at a country artist. But it’s also completely understandable — and ultimately more important — why a country artist would want to be coached by Shelton. Additionally the Blocks instantly devalue the four-chair turns. If a singer is able to woo all four music mega-stars, the ultimate prize is (or should be) the opportunity to work with the coach they think will help them the most. But it’s not just the four-chair turns who are affected, obviously, since Blocks also happen on three- and two-chair turns.

For a recent example, many viewers took to social media to express disappointment after Nick Jonas’ Block denied Cam Anthony the enviable chance to work with John Legend.

Even Cam Anthony had something to say when the episode aired, giving a good-natured jab to Nick Jonas for the Block.

Blocks Backfire When The Artist Picks A Different Coach

The premise of the Block may be beginning to sour on the contestants as well. What was intended to be a badge of honor — “I wanted you so bad I used my only Block to get you!” — has turned into the feeling that the artists are being sabotaged to miss out on their best interests. Even the coaches have started using this line of thinking, telling the contestants that someone who takes an opportunity away from them couldn’t possibly have their best interests at heart. (Even though they all do it, every season, without fail.) When Blake Shelton blocked Nick Jonas during 19-year-old Gene Garcia’s audition, Kelly Clarkson pulled no punches against her country rival.

In two of the four Blocks this season, the artist has chosen to go with a different coach than the one who used their Block. When Nick Jonas blocked John Legend from competing for Cam Anthony, Anthony made the surprising choice to join Blake Shelton’s team after the cowboy promised Anthony he’d be the only singer of that genre on Team Blake. And after Shelton thwarted Jonas from working with Gean Garcia, Kelly Clarkson’s to-the-point pitch against Shelton seemed to have worked, as Garcia ended up on Team Kelly. In Legend's Block of Jonas, the EGOT winner was the only other coach who turned, defaulting Ciana Pelekai to Team Legend. Should Blocks continue to be a part of the Blind Auditions in future seasons of The Voice, it will be interesting to see if Blocks end up working against the coaches.

Now that all four Blocks have been used this season, we can all sit back and watch the hilarity ensue, with no worries about a contestant being limited in who they can choose as a coach. And who knows, maybe the coaches who were blocked from contestants in the Blinds will get a chance to steal those very artists in the Battle Rounds. The Voice continues with another round of Blind Auditions at 9:00 p.m. ET Tuesday on NBC before dropping to just one episode a week — at 8 p.m. ET on Mondays — beginning March 15.

The Voice continued its two-night Season 20 premiere on Tuesday, with more artists taking the stage for a chance of stardom in front of coaches Kelly Clarkson, Nick Jonas, John Legend and frequent winner Blake Shelton. After the first night provided plenty of laughs, as the coaches celebrated being back together for the show's 10th anniversary, the second night of Blind Auditions saw a four-chair turn that possibly could lead to the first Voice trophy for Team Nick.

Zae Romeo mesmerized the coaches with his rendition of "Falling" by Harry Styles. The 20-year-old from McKinney, Texas, gave a confident performance, showing his range and earning a four-chair turn. He impressed EGOT winner John Legend with his "fluttery" vibrato, and daytime talk show queen Kelly Clarkson looked like she was almost brought to tears by the emotion he conveyed. But Romeo ultimately chose to go with Nick Jonas, adding strength to the singer's already-impressive squad. Romeo's background is also likely to endear fans to him.

He told an emotional story of growing up in the foster care system with his three siblings and being adopted when he was 6-years-old. Although he was together with his siblings and with loving adopted parents, Romeo still struggled with what the family had been through. He ran away when he was 16, and when he saw a Missing Persons poster with his picture on it, he realized how much his parents loved him and called his mom.

The coaches did pick up on a couple of aspects of the performance he could have improved upon, but a big part of the enjoyment of The Voice is seeing these artists with natural talent develop under the superstars' mentorship. Check the performance out below and judge for yourself:

See, wasn't that just lovely to listen to? I'm not the only one who thinks so, either, as Zae Romeo's new coach couldn't contain his excitement.

Zae Romeo definitely has the talent to make a long run this season, and paired with Nick Jonas, I think this duo could just win it all. One audition on the Season 20 premiere of The Voice caught coach Blake Shelton completely off-guard. The socially distanced start of the 20th season of the competition reality show also marked The Voice’s 10th anniversary on NBC, and coaches Kelly Clarkson, Nick Jonas, John Legend and the aforementioned Blake reunited in the swiveling chairs for the first night of Blind Auditions. But when Carson Daly calls a performance “an audition like we’ve never seen before,” it’s hard to believe there’s much else a contestant could bring to the stage that hasn’t been done in the 19 prior seasons.

While it's not rare to see a contestant on The Voice with Nashville roots, 45-year-old Pete Mroz had a personal, and musical, connection to Blake Shelton's past that completely floored “the old cowboy.” Mroz was introduced as a Nashville artist and family man who sells men's golf apparel (not how he knew Blake), and his smooth and seasoned performance of “Can’t Find My Way Home” by Blind Faith earned chair turns from both Blake and Mr. EGOT himself, John Legend. When Blake turned around, Mroz pointed at the country star, and that’s when Blake said he knew something was up. It turned out they'd jammed together 25 years previous.

When the song was over, John talked to Mroz first, saying he liked his energy. When Pete called himself the old guy on the show, John and Nick pointed at Blake, leading Pete to tell the country star, “Yeah, I’m gonna get to you.” Blake responded that’s not usually a good thing for him.

As soon as Pete Mroz said he used to go by a different name, Pete Mitchell, Blake Shelton became flummoxed, letting out a signature "Oh my God,” before putting his head down and burying his head in his hands. He groaned in embarrassment as Mroz said he cut his chops in a group in Nashville called The Young Riders, prompting Blake to explain to the other coaches that he was in that very same collection of musicians.

Kelly Clarkson was highly amused to realize that Blake hadn’t immediately recognized a former group member, even though they hadn’t seen each other in 25 years. The two explained that it wasn’t even a band so much as a songwriter circle. Even beyond not immediately recognizing him though, Mroz had another bone to pick with Blake:

In the end, Pete Mroz chose to get the group back together, and he joined Team Blake for a shot at long-term success. Kelly Clarkson still didn’t let Blake off the hook, continuing to rib her Voice-mate even after Mroz had left the stage, saying: "If that ever happened to me, I would sweat so bad." The challenge is now on for The Voice producers to find someone to make Kelly do just that.

Blake Shelton said he’s excited to be working with an old buddy, and Pete Mroz echoed the sentiment, telling Carson Daly it was a full-circle moment. Mroz said he and Blake used to sit around writing songs, and now he’s on this huge stage, and Blake’s a country superstar. Check out the excellent performance in the video below!

Earlier this month, Schitt’s Creek favorite Dan Levy hosted Saturday Night Live and absolutely crushed it. On his way out the door, he left a note for the next host Watchmen lead Regina King. She returned the favor for the following week’s host Rege-Jean Page. In case you were wondering, yes, he left a note for this week’s host Nick Jonas, and now we can see it thanks to an appreciative social media post.

Nick Jonas took to Twitter not long before he was scheduled to take the Studio 8H stage to drop a picture of the note Rege-Jean Page left him and affirm that he will have the best time. You can check out the note which also doubles as a fun selfie from the Jonas Brother below…

Nick Jonas has been on the Saturday Night Live stage before. The affable 28 year old was the musical guest by himself back in 2016 and appeared again as part of the Jonas Brothers in 2019, but even longtime cast members talk about how they still get nervous. Live television is live television, and I would imagine it’s particularly nerve-wracking for someone like Jonas who has acting experience but not on a live sketch comedy show surrounded by some of today’s best and brightest comedians.

Thankfully, Jonas performed very well last night. He was in several really funny sketches including a couple that played to his strengths by incorporating songs. There was one that involved a bachelor party song and another that covered the joys of multi-tasking while watching murder shows on Netflix. You can tell he followed Bridgerton star Rege-Jean Page’s advice and was having the absolute best time.

And if that wasn’t enough, Jonas also got to spend time with his brother last night. Kevin Jonas popped up during the opening monologue to ask if the Jonas Brothers are even a band anymore (they are!), and he introduced him ahead of a later musical performance. I know it’s a little sappy, but I love when SNL hosts have famous family members and they get incorporated into a sketch. When it comes to Nick Jonas, he has a ton of famous family members to choose from too.

The best part about Saturday Night Live is how it finds a way to consistently reinvent itself and stay relevant for the current era. There are some traditions and basic structures that get passed on, but in general, the purpose is about figuring out what is funny right now. The hosts and musical guests help with that, but it’s also a testament to the writing staff and the cast staying on top of what works right now. No one knows what the future holds, but I truly hope Saturday Night Live is kicking another 50 years from now, loosely resembling what it looks like today but fresh and modern for two generations from now. And if the hosts are still leaving each other notes, all the better.

It's not uncommon for busy couples to go through periods of time where they don't see each other much, and this is probably especially true for twosomes where each member of the couple has a gig in the entertainment industry which keeps them away from their home base several weeks / months out of the year. But, it sounds like power couple Priyanka Chopra and her husband Nick Jonas have become experts at long distance romance, because Chopra has revealed that they only see each other once a month.

I know many of you are probably already scratching your heads, especially since actress Priyanka Chopra and actor / singer / sometime The Voice coach Nick Jonas have only been married for a little over two years, so let's just get to what she said regarding their in-person time and discuss it later. Chopra spoke with Elle recently, and after discussing how much itinerant living she's done for much of the past decade because of her career, dropped this tidbit about her relationship with Jonas:

According to what Priyanka Chopra said about how she and Nick Jonas run things, they only see each other, in person, for a couple of days every three weeks. Theoretically, this could mean that they're within spitting distance of one another twice in one month, depending on when that first monthly visit occurs. Chopra did say they fly to the other's locale "at least once a month," meaning that, time permitting, it could be more. But, if their first visit is, say, during the last week of the month, that would mean they only get together that one time.

Chopra doesn't say when this method started for the couple, only noting that they committed to making sure they'd be together at least once every month when they first got married. Having a rule like that makes a ton of sense, considering how busy each of them are (she has two movies coming out this year, and another four projects in the works), but setting the bar at only one in-person meeting per month would likely drive most couples crazy.

I have to say, though, it seems like it's working for them so far, and that's all any couple can hope for. We all have to figure out ways to make our relationships last, even if the way we do that seems unusual or unsustainable to those around us. Priyanka Chopra has described herself as an introvert before, but she also has a job where she's forced to deal with tons of other people on a regular basis. Maybe she needs to carve out whatever alone time she can get to recharge. If that's the case, it's good that Nick Jonas is on board with helping her do that.

Plus, even though it sounds like the marrieds aren't face-to-face anywhere near as much as most couples, it wouldn't be impossible for them to talk, text, and / or video chat daily so that they make sure they keep in touch and aware of what's going on in each other's lives. Besides, Jonas has confirmed that they spent nearly a year just texting each other before they even met in person, and then roughly another year of little to no in-person contact before their first official date, so he and Chopra seem to really understand how to navigate this level of separation.

While The Voice's current season is still in the midst of its Battle rounds, decisions are being made behind the scenes to set up what fans can expect to see for the show's next batch of episodes. Though Season 19 welcomed Gwen Stefani back for her fifth year as a Voice coach, she will once again be vacating her chair after this year's finale. Rather than opting for someone completely new, the producers have locked up another returning coach in actor and musician Nick Jonas.

Fans will recall that Nick Jonas first joined The Voice for Season 18, where he was welcomed by fellow coaches John Legend, Kelly Clarkson and Blake Shelton. Jonas also won over audiences during his first season, and made more than a few contestants feel like they might be the next addition to the Jonas Brothers act. I can't imagine too many viewers will be upset to see him returning to the show.

Just as it went from Season 17 into Season 18, Gwen Stefani will be giving up her seat so that Nick Jonas can fill it. No specific reasons were given for why Stefani is bowing out for the next cycle, but she's obviously a busy entertainer beyond The Voice, as well as being a full-time mother. (Incidentally, while fans would love for Nick Jonas and Priyanka Chopra Jonas to suddenly announce they're expecting a new addition to the fam, that hasn't happened yet.)

Interestingly, news of Gwen Stefani's exit comes weeks after news broke that she and Voice co-star Blake Shelton are now formally engaged to be married. She's been showing off that hunk of a ring that Shelton proposed with, too. As already hinted at, it's unclear if the upcoming wedding plans are keeping Stefani away from The Voice, but it doesn't appear as if any of that is keeping Shelton himself from returning for Season 20.

Speaking of being busy, it's a wonder that Kelly Clarkson will presumably maintain her coach's seat for the seventh consecutive season. The lack of touring due to the pandemic has probably helped her keep her schedule open, though hosting her own daily talk show on top of starring on The Voice definitely makes for a hectic timetable. Not to mention the fact that she's currently in the midst of complicated divorce proceedings.

The Voice airs Monday and Tuesday nights on NBC at 8:00 p.m. ET, so be sure to keep watching if you watch to soak up all the Gwen Stefani you can. One of scripted television's longest-running institutions, Saturday Night Live, is headed back into production and returning to the studio after its unexpected time airing with pre-taped skits from cast members' homes at the end of last season. While fans certainly admired the desire of the cast and crew to keep the good ship SNL afloat as much as possible under some trying circumstances, you can bet that viewers will be looking to see the legendary skitcom return to something much more like normal in Season 46. With new announcements on who will be hosting and performing as musical guests, it looks like all of our dreams will be coming true.

Every year brings an assorted number of wonders for those who love SNL. We tune in each week for the promise of laughs, fun surprises, wild satire, the occasional shocking (or shockingly funny) screw up and to see what kind of silliness the guest hosts (and possibly musical guests) will be roped into while trying to deliver the funniest possible show. This season will see Kenan Thompson head into his eighteenth season on the live show, further cementing his place as the longest-running cast member for SNL ever, but this promises to be a banner year for the series in other ways, as well.

This is, after all, an election year, and those behind Saturday Night Live are nothing if not truly gifted when it comes to both lampooning politicians and also casting said political figures for the show. We already know that (after sounding like he was totally done with putting in the effort) Alec Baldwin will return yet again to step into the presidential shoes of Donald Trump, a role that won him an Emmy in 2017, with former cast member Maya Rudolph reprising her Emmy-winning part as Kamala Harris.

Word also came down recently that they'll be joined by Jim Carrey, who will take over the part of Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden from another former cast member, Jason Sudeikis. Who knows, with the way these special guest appearances are going, we might be treated to Brad Pitt's Dr. Anthony Fauci again. By the way, Pitt's performance also got an Emmy nod this year, so if we see a lot more special guests coming in to play real life people, I wouldn't be surprised.

Meanwhile, we do have our first announcement of who will host and act as musical guest on the Season 46 premiere of SNL, and you really can't be mad at who was chosen. Hot! Hot! Hot! Chris Rock, of course, is another former cast member, having hit the SNL stage weekly from 1990 to 1993. The actor / comedian / talk show host has been back to lead the festivities at his old stomping grounds twice before, and is funny to his bones, so you know he'll bring his best on opening night. Rapper Megan Thee Stallion is coming off of several hits, including this summer's naughty scorcher "WAP," with Cardi B, and this will be her first time on SNL.

October 10 - Bill Burr With Musical Guest Jack White

Comedian and actor Bill Burr will make his SNL debut on October 10. The Monday Morning Podcast host was most recently seen in The King of Staten Island with Pete Davidson, and The Mandalorian, and his animated family sitcom, F is for Family, will be back for a fifth and final season on Netflix. After a bit of a shakeup, Jack White will step in to act as musical guest on the episode, marking his fourth time rocking the halls of 30 Rock.

October 17 - Issa Rae With Musical Guest Justin Bieber

The star, executive producer, and creator of the HBO hit comedy Insecure, Issa Rae, will mark her SNL hosting debut on October 17. Joining Rae on the show will be Justin Bieber, who will appear as musical guest for the fourth time.

October 24 - Adele With Musical Guest H.E.R.

Music superstar Adele makes her hosting debut on Saturday Night Live with the October 24, episode, after previously acting as musical guest way back in October 2008, and again in November 2015. Ten-time Grammy Award nominee H.E.R. (who won two of the awards in 2019) will make her debut as musical guest on the same night.

October 31 - John Mulaney With Musical Guest The Strokes

Comedian and former SNL writer John Mulaney will hit the stage to host for the fourth time on October 31. Rockers The Strokes will also perform for the fourth time.

November 7 - Dave Chappelle With Musical Guest Foo Fighters

Dave Chappelle returns for his second hosting gig, having previously hit the stage right after the 2016 presidential election. The Foo Fighters will perform as musical guests, for what will be the band's eighth time appearing.

November 14 through 28 - No New SNL Episodes

December 5 - Jason Bateman With Musical Guest Morgan Wallen

Ozark and The Outsider star Jason Bateman will return to host when the show comes back from a three-week break on December 5. This will be Bateman's second time in the job; he last hosted in February 2005. Country music star Morgan Wallen is scheduled as musical guest, after being booted off of the second episode this season when producers found out he hadn't been following their new production guidelines.

December 12 - Timothée Chalamet With Musical Guest Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band

Dune's Timothée Chalamet is coming to host SNL for his first time on December 12, while Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band will be along for their third performance.

December 19 - Kristen Wiig With Musical Guest Dua Lipa

Former cast member Kristen Wiig returns for her fourth hosting gig on December 19, with her starring role as Cheetah in Wonder Woman 1984 heading to HBO Max (and theaters) on Christmas Day. Meanwhile, pop superstar Dua Lipa will hit SNL for the second time.

January 30 - John Krasinski With Musical Guest Machine Gun Kelly

Everyone's favorite prankster from The Office (and star of Jack Ryan and A Quiet Place), John Krasinski, will host when the series returns for the first episode of the new year. Singer/rapper/actor Machine Gun Kelly will appear as musical guest for the first time.

February 6 - Dan Levy With Musical Guest Phoebe Bridgers

Oscar, Golden Globe, and four-time Emmy Award winner Regina King will step on the 30 Rock stage for the first time on February 13. Folk and R&B artist Nathaniel Rateliff will perform.

February 20 - Regé-Jean Page With Musical Guest Bad Bunny

Breakout Bridgerton star Regé-Jean Page hosts SNL for the first time, and will appear alongside musical guest, rapper, Bad Bunny.

February 27 - Nick Jonas With Musical Guest Nick Jonas

That's right, the actor/singer, known for films like Jumanji: The Next Level and Midway, hosts the last episode of February, and will also appear as musical guest.

March 27 - Maya Rudolph With Musical Guest Jack Harlow

Former SNL cast member Maya Rudolph returns to her old stomping grounds to host for the second time on March 27. Rapper Jack Harlow will hit the stage as musical guest.

April 3 - Daniel Kaluuya With Musical Guest St. Vincent

Two-time Oscar nominee (most recently for Judas and the Black Messiah) Daniel Kaluuya will host SNL for the first time on April 3. Rock/pop performer St. Vincent will act as musical guest.

April 10 - Carey Mulligan With Musical Guest Kid Cudi

Another two-time Oscar nominee (this time for Promising Young Woman), Carey Mulligan, will also step up to host for the first time in April. Rapper Kid Cudi will appear as musical guest.

May 8 - Elon Musk With Musical Guest Miley Cyrus

Tesla CEO Elon Musk will make his debut as SNL guest host for the first episode of May, as the series begins to wind down Season 46. Musk proved to be a rather controversial choice, so we'll see how his inaugural hosting gig goes. He'll be joined by musical guest Miley Cyrus, who's making her fifth appearance as either musical guest or host.

May 15 - Keegan-Michael Key With Musical Guest Olivia Rodrigo

Emmy winner and all around funny guy Keegan-Michael Key will mark his first time hosting SNL on May 15. Meanwhile, another newcomer, singer/actress Olivia Rodrigo will act as musical guest for the first time.

Nick Jonas is being aggressive in his pursuit of a winning contestant during The Voice Season 18, and he's willing to go to any length to pull singers over to his team. This may even include adopting a competitor into his family tree, which is a cute offer he sort of threw one contestant's way after hearing his impressive performance.

Jacob Miller's rendition of Bob Dylan's "The Times They Are A-Changin," caught the ear of three of the four coaches, and Blake Shelton, Kelly Clarkson, and Nick Jonas wasted no time in pitching why the singer-songwriter should join their team. Jonas went a little harder than the other two in his pitch and mentioned that, regardless of how The Voice goes, he would be interested in getting Miller in a studio with his brothers and possibly collaborating with them. Hear the performance, and Jonas' impressive offer not long after hearing what Miller can do, below.

Nick Jonas offered Jacob Miller an amazing opportunity, regardless of how he does on The Voice, so it isn't surprising that Jonas ended up snatching the contestant up for his team. Time will tell if Jonas is serious about actually collaborating with Miller in the future, but for now, the duo are going to focus on winning The Voice. Could Miller be that magical contestant that ends up taking Season 18 by storm?

It feels possible, given that the folk singer doesn't have a ton of competitors that sound like him in Season 18 so far. With that said, Jacob Miller may be thinking just a little less about the next stage of the competition, and more about what Nick Jonas first told him before he selected him as a coach. If the "Jealous," singer thought Miller was going to just forget that vague promise to potentially be on a Jonas Brothers album, he's sorely mistaken.

You gotta respect the hustle, and Jacob Miller has been hustling in the music game and releasing content for quite a while. The musician has a total of five albums on iTunes, one of which is a solo album called This New Home. The other four came from a band he formed prior to breaking out on his own, Jacob Miller and the Bridge City Crooners. He's still a fresh face in terms of song-writing and performing, but he's illustrated his talents many times, so it's not too crazy to think Nick Jonas is serious about sitting down with him in the studio.

A polished singer-songwriter with original songs and a distinct style is now on The Voice. It's a situation similar to what American Idol saw in Season 17 with Alejandro Aranda, and his runner-up status proved that contestants can go very far in these competitions without singing the classic hit songs. I'd love to see Miller prove the same thing on The Voice, but he'll have his work cut out for him with the other people who have advanced so far.

As The Voice coaches continue to build their teams in Season 18, the banter and manipulation grows. Competitors must choose where they'll go next. Blake Shelton really stepped up his game in the third episode, and was doing all he could to undermine Kelly Clarkson and prevent her from capturing her 4th win on the NBC singing competition. In doing that he gave Nick Jonas a big boost by telling a competitor that anyone on the new coach's team is bound to go far thanks to his loyal and massive following.

It's a great compliment to Nick Jonas and his fans, but is it actually true? As someone who does a fair bit of browsing social media during episodes, I can't deny the Nick Jonas fandom is very active on Twitter. There could be some truth to Blake Shelton's words, but some further digging revealed that Jonas isn't the most followed person of the judges on Twitter. In fact, the coach with the most followers by a large margin is actually Shelton.

While it's true that Twitter followers aren't the definitive metric to measure an artist's fandom or success, Blake Shelton is quite a popular guy on Twitter. His 20.5 million followers exceeds Nick Jonas' by a cool 6 million, as Jonas currently sits with 14.5 million. After him the margin between coaches is smaller, with John Legend at 13.3 million, and Kelly Clarkson with 12.3 million. When just looking at these Twitter numbers, it seems like Nick may not have the biggest fandom of the bunch.

With that said, I'd be negligent not to mention Nick possibly has more fans willing to vote for him on The Jonas Brothers' Twitter (4.8 million), or on Joe (10.3 million) and Kevin Jonas' (5.4 million) accounts. He also has a famous cheerleader in his wife Priyanka Chopra, who has a whopping 25.6 million followers on Twitter, and she's been tweeting about the show. I should also mention both Jonas and his wife are forces of nature on Instagram with 79.1 million followers between them, which dwarfs all three other coaches' Instagram followings (20 million) combined. Perhaps Blake Shelton is on to something after all.

Of course, for Blake Shelton to be right with his statement, there would have to be a proven link between coaches' fan followings and wins. Again, social media follows aren't clear cut proof of fanbase sizes, but it should be noted Kelly Clarkson has the lowest numbers of all four judges on both Instagram and Twitter. She has won 3 of the past 4 seasons, and while that's still less than Blake's 6, it may be enough to show that the size of a coach's fanbase isn't everything.

Still, with the massive presence and influence Nick Jonas has across his family on the web, it will be interesting to see how his competitors fare when the audience vote comes into play. If they start advancing regardless of how they performed against another competitor, then we can start speculating on how much of a factor his fans were on Season 18. Until then though, there's not enough data that shows The Voice audience votes just because of who the coach is.

Nick Jonas is the new kid amongst the coaches on The Voice, but early indications have shown he won't be as timid as newcomers to the show have been in the past. In fact, Jonas has been pretty aggressive in his pursuit of contestants in the first batch of episodes, and has shown some real passion in the process despite taunting and "bullying" from his fellow panelists.

Nick Jonas wouldn't call it bullying, however, at least in regards to fellow coach Blake Shelton. Jonas said that while the country singer may be telling viewers and other media he's going after Jonas in his inaugural season, the two hit it off early on.

Blake Shelton may be a bit biting with his jabs and strategies on The Voice, but Nick Jonas said they've formed a good dynamic. From what is seen in Variety's conversation with Jonas, it appears there are no hurt feelings from the actor/singer as the coaches vie to get the best competitors in Season 18 any way they can.

While Blake Shelton may not be a huge aggressor in Nick Jonas' eyes, he did tell Jimmy Fallon on The Tonight Show one coach surprised him. No, it wasn't Kelly Clarkson and her pointy outfits, but the EGOT John Legend who really came to play. Jonas joked to Fallon that "the gloves came off" with Legend. He teased more on that front to Variety:

The Voice coaches like to have a good time, but as Nick Jonas learned, getting talented singers is a cutthroat game. The right words or roast of another coach right before a competitor chooses teams can make all the difference, and maybe even get a coach a singer they wouldn't have gotten otherwise. The veterans know this, and Nick Jonas looks to be catching on quickly as the Blind Auditions roll on.

Overall, Nick Jonas is giving every indication he really enjoys The Voice. Watch him talk about his first few days on the show with Jimmy Fallon, and joke about his fellow coaches below.

Right now it's too early to say who has an advantage in Season 18, but Nick Jonas is off to as strong a start as anyone else. With his passion and willingness to mentor young singers trying to reach super stardom, I think he has a real shot at being one of the rare coaches to win in their first season on The Voice.

The Voice Season 18 has a new coach and, as is tradition in the franchise, all the returning coaches gave the newbie a hard time in the season opener. This meant blocking Nick Jonas from obtaining early talent through their special abilities, verbally swaying others not to pick him due to his lack of experience on the show, and more. Jonas faced all of that in his premiere episode, and somehow The Jonas Brothers singer managed to get off to a great start anyway with a big first night.

Part of overcoming that obstacle came from rolling with the punches and artfully dodging all the ribbing from Blake Shelton. Kelly Clarkson and John Legend can get saucy from time to time, but Jonas really had his work cut out for him with Shelton. The 6-time winning coach gave his new co-star on The Voice the full sass, so much so you'd think Nick Jonas was Adam Levine 2.0. Jonas stayed cool under the pressure, and smiled through it all to the crowd's approval.

That was great by itself, but Nick Jonas really showed how much of a threat he can be on The Voice in the final moments of the premiere. Jonas found himself in a contention for being the coach of one of the night's most talented singers, Joanna Serenko. Jonas was a bit timid in the four-chair-turn at first, but soon realized he had to bring it if he wanted a major competitor on his team.

You can almost see Nick Jonas getting frustrated in the midst of Kelly Clarkson's spiel about her experience as a coach, and realizing he's going to have to fight to get talented people on his team. It honestly seemed like Serenko was going to go another direction with her decision prior to his speech, but ultimately ending up going Team Nick after his impassioned words about proving himself on The Voice. It's not often we see this type of boldness from new coaches, but I personally am loving it!

What does Nick Jonas have that past coaches didn't? He's got a solid amount of confidence, which is only bolstered further by the studio audience screaming their approval every time he opens his mouth. Kelly Clarkson made mention of the roaring audience during the premiere, and told her co-star she and the rest of the coaches know not to underestimate him. That is a good point actually, because The Jonas Brothers really have some pull on social media which may benefit Team Nick's competitors when the competition shifts to the audience votes.

The Voice is roaring into Season 18 at NBC, and once again, it'll have a new coach to break in. Pop star Nick Jonas is ready to make his mark on the NBC singing competition, and it appears he's left a good first impression with host Carson Daly.

Daly, who has seen his fair share of coaches throughout his tenure on The Voice, was recently asked about his thoughts on Jonas ahead of the premiere of Season 18. The former late-night host shared his thoughts on Jonas as a person, and talked about the energy he's brought into The Voice in the Blind Auditions.

Nick Jonas will take shots early at his peers in The Voice Season 18, and hopefully win some contestants over to his team in the meantime. As a new coach, that will be his biggest challenge as he'll be the only coach on the roster with an unproven track record of success. As Carson Daly told TVInsider, Blake Shelton is the show's winning-est coach, but Kelly Clarkson has had an impressive run of 3 wins in the past 4 seasons. Coach John Legend got his first win a couple seasons ago as well, so Jonas will have some disadvantage as a newbie.

Of course, just because Nick Jonas doesn't have a history of wins on The Voice doesn't mean he's doomed. Jonas has been in the music business for quite some time, and has plenty of advice and experience to share with young competitors that join his team. Carson Daly noticed the incoming coach was attentive to certain types of singers in the opening stages of the competition, which will be something interesting for fans to watch.

Nick Jonas will replace exiting judge Gwen Stefani, who has been in and out of The Voice for many years now. It's not known how long the NBC series will keep Jonas in its ranks, or how long he wishes to be a part of the program. Hopefully, if the audience responds well to his style of coaching, taste in competitors, and responses to corny jokes, he'll stay on for more seasons.

Back in September, comedy superstar Kevin Hart was caught in a serious car accident and suffered “major back injuries.” Hart is still recovering, and his Jumanji: The Next Level costar, Nick Jonas, recently said the following about how thankful he is that Hart is on the mend:

While Nick Jonas has not seen Kevin Hart since they finished shooting Jumanji: The Next Level, the former told ET that he’s “messaged back-and-forth” with the latter about how he’s doing. We’ll have to wait and see if Hart will be well enough to do the press rounds for The Next Level (he’s aiming to do so), or at the bare minimum show up to the world premiere, but if he is, then count on those two catching up with one another face-to-face.

Kevin Hart was sitting in the passenger seat of his 1970 Plymouth Barracuda when the driver lost control on Mulholland Highway at around 12:45 a.m. on September 1. Hart reportedly fractured his spine in three places, which required him to undergo surgery, but he was let out of the hospital ten days later and swiftly began physical therapy.

Kevin Hart is still in the midst of rehabilitation, requiring some of his projects to be put on hold, but in a video he posted at the end of October where he shared looks at his damaged car and the recovery process, Hart seemed to be in good spirits. And Nick Jonas isn’t the only Jumanji actor who’s been looking out for Hart. Just days after the accident, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson cut his honeymoon short in order to fill in for Hart on The Kelly Clarkson Show, though that didn’t stop him from still poking fun at his frequent collaborator.

Kevin Hart, Nick Jonas and the rest of the Jumanji: The Next Level actors finished filming their scenes back in May, so Hart’s car accident did not delay the movie’s release. It still set to come out in mid-December, the same weekend as movies like Black Christmas, Bombshell, Richard Jewell and Uncut Gems.

While Kevin Hart and Nick Jonas are both reprising their respective Welcome to the Jungle avatars in Jumanji: The Next Level, Franklin "Mouse" Finbar and Jefferson "Seaplane" McDonough, the sequel is switching things up by having most of the main characters playing as different avatars. In the case of Mouse and Seaplane, Danny Glover’s Milo Walker is filling the former’s shoes and Alex Wolff’s Spencer Gilpin will play as the latter.

At the top of this article, I included a photo of what Nick Jonas, the musical phenom, member of The Jonas Brothers and occasional actor, looks like. He’s cleanshaven often, but for the period drama Midway, he added a mustache to his WWII-era look. But what did his wife think about her partner wearing a ‘stache?

Well, at least if you were to ask Nick Jonas himself what his wife Priyanka Chopra thought, he’d tell you she was into it. There’s a reason she was cool with Jonas’ Midway look too, as it reminded her of her past. He noted,

While Priyanka Chopra sounds like she was a good sport about the mustache, it seems as if Nick Jonas was quite ready to get rid of it as soon as he was done filming Midway. Not that Chopra sounds like she really minded, anyway.

While being interviewed by ET at the LA premiere of the movie, Nick Jonas was sporting a bit of scruff, but nothing like the mustache we’ve already been given a sneak peak of, thanks to the trailers for Midway. If you haven’t caught the look, however, you can check it out below.

Nick Jonas’ character, Bruno Gaido, is not the only character sporting a mustache in the trailer for this movie; for example, Luke Evans’ Lieutenant Commander Wade McClusky also has his own facial hair look going on. All the mustaches really do make sense for the movie, as the Roland Emmerich film is set during WWII, during the era of Pearl Harbor and later the Battle of Midway when mustaches were common -- even the toothbrush variety Adolf Hitler sported.

These days, beards are sort of the in thing with facial hair right now, and I’d assume actors who decide to sport beards for various movie roles can go out in public with nary an eyelash batted. That’s not exactly the same for those who choose to go mustachioed (although I’m assuming Movember is a good month for mustache lovers each year).

Regardless, I still enjoy hearing about what it was like for Nick Jonas to sport the mustache in front of his wife, whom he married back in December of last year. Ultimately, I'm also happy to hear it wasn't too much of a hardship on their relationship. You never know how prickly these things can be.

Ultimately, Midway is being released this month, and the Movember tie-ins are just too good not to note. While The Voice is still in the blind auditions for Season 17, that doesn't mean plans for Season 18 aren't already in motion. The NBC singing competition just announced the new coach for the upcoming season, and dammit, he's probably feeling so cool right now. Nick Jonas of Jonas Brothers fame is heading to The Voice in Season 18, but what does this mean for Season 17 coach Gwen Stefani?

It's a question some may be asking after watching Nick Jonas announce his new gig during an interview on The Ellen Show. Ellen DeGeneres had a special surprise for Nick ahead of his official reveal, as Blake Shelton, Kelly Clarkson, and John Legend all sent their congratulations to him via video. Check it out.

Is Gwen Stefani not glad that Nick Jonas is joining the show? This may be a not-so-subtle hint from NBC and The Voice that Stefani will be stepping out after Season 17. That's not entirely surprising considering she's been in and out of the franchise since she first joined in Season 7. Stefani has been a part of the series longer than some coaches, but she doesn't have anywhere near the streak of her beau Blake Shelton.

Nick Jonas is no stranger to The Voice either, though this will be his first season as a coach. Before Season 18 Jonas served as a mentor on Season 8 under Team Christina Aguilera, and was a performer in Season 16's finale of The Voice.

To be clear, The Voice hasn't said anything about Gwen Stefani's status on the show past Season 17. That means it is entirely possible Nick Jonas will step in for John Legend, Kelly Clarkson, or even Blake Shelton. Stefani just makes sense since she didn't do a congratulatory video, and has never served as a full-time coach in back-to-back seasons.

The news may be a little disappointing to The Voice's Season 17 fans who have grown fond of Gwen Stefani and her playful dynamic with Blake Shelton. There are definitely some viewers that have preferred their play fighting to the past bickering between Shelton and ousted coach Adam Levine. It will be sad to see Stefani go if she's out for Season 18, but there's always a chance she will return!

Nick Jonas as a coach is exciting, especially given he's been in the limelight since he was a kid. He'll be able to mentor competitors both old and young, and maybe even have his brothers pop in for some additional help. We can hope, right? John Legend may be an EGOT, but there's only one of him!

The Voice's Adam Levine Reveals Why He Does And Doesn't Miss Being On The Show

The game isn't over! The third movie in the Jumanji series, following 1995's Jumanji and 2017's Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle, is called Jumanji: The Next Level. Fans can expect a steady stream of Jumanji 3 news, with updates continuing until the adventure movie arrives in theaters in December 2019. Here's what we know about the sequel so far, starting with the first trailer, which was posted on July 1:

That trailer fills in a lot of gaps on what the movie will be about, which is certainly helpful since there was no previous word on that front.

When Will Jumanji: The Next Level Be Released?

Jumanji: The Next Level is currently scheduled for release on December 13, 2019. That gives it exactly one week before Star Wars: Episode IX takes over the box office. Jumanji has faced Star Wars in a showdown before, when Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle opened on December 20, 2017, just after Star Wars: The Last Jedi. Considering that both films picked up piles of money in 2017, there will still probably be room for both of them at the 2019 box office.

Star/producer Dwayne Johnson announced the current Jumanji 3 release date on Instagram back in June 2018:

What Is The Jumanji: The Next Level Rating?

The MPAA has yet to announce an official rating, but it will probably be PG-13. The first Jumanji in 1995 was PG, but this is more of a direct sequel to Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle, which earned a PG-13 rating in 2017 for "adventure action, suggestive content and some language."

It's still early days for Jumanji: The Next Level news, but considering how well Jumanji 2 did, there's a very high chance they won't change much about the basics for the 2019 movie. Welcome to the Jungle had a reported budget of around $100 million and the film made nearly $1 billion at the worldwide box office, per Box Office Mojo figures. It was the fifth-highest-grossing film of 2017 and the 42nd-highest-grossing film of all time. Of that total, $404.5 million came from the domestic box office, and $557.5 million from the foreign box office. No one really saw this coming, since the 1995 Robin Williams movie just made $262.8 million (not adjusted for inflation).

Who Is Writing And Directing Jumanji: The Next Level?

If it ain't broke... As suggested in the previous entry, the second Jumanji film was such a hit that Sony is bringing back the major players for Jumanji 3. According to Deadline, Sony asked Scott Rosenberg and Jeff Pinkner back to write a sequel, with Jake Kasdan returning to direct and help shape the story. Matt Tolbach will be producing, along with the Seven Bucks Production team of Dwayne Johnson, Dany Garcia, and Hiram Garcia.

Production Weekly (via MovieWeb) said Jumanji 3 was scheduled to start production January 21, and it wrapped in May 2019. Jumanji 2 filmed in Hawaii and Georgia, but Jumanji: The Next Level not only filmed in the usual jungles of Hawaii, the cast went to snow-capped mountains and also the desert, for new levels of the game.

What Is The Plot of Jumanji: The Next Level?

The trailer for Jumanji: The Next Level showed Spencer ended up back in the game, with the rest of the original high school crew heading back in to get him. Spencer's grandfather (Danny DeVito) and grandfather's friend Milo Walker (Danny Glover) both got stuck in the game with them -- playing The Rock and Kevin Hart's avatars, respectively -- adding a new level of hilarity. Back in June, Dwayne Johnson shared a photo from a development meeting, teasing just this on the plot:

He just loves to mess with Kevin Hart! The four high school teens of Welcome to the Jungle left the film as newfound friends, and they destroyed the game in the end. But, since we're dealing with fantasy and magic, no one should've expected the game to truly be destroyed. Jumanji 2 had some alternate endings that were discarded, THR reports, and it's possible the filmmakers will dip back into that well at some point.

Some of the actors shared ideas for the sequel. Jack Black said he wanted to head into space for an origin story. He wants to know where the game comes from, and who invented it, figuring it must be alien technology or from some "crazy jungle medicine man magic." Karen Gillan added that she'd like to see a really old man choose her avatar, Ruby Roundhouse, so she could go from playing an introverted teen in Welcome to the Jungle to channeling the mannerisms of an old man.

What Characters Are Returning For Jumanji: The Next Level?

Here's what we know: Dwayne Johnson, Jack Black, Kevin Hart, Karen Gillan, and Nick Jonas will return. In Jumanji 2, they played the respective avatars Smolder Bravestone, Sheldon Oberon, Franklin Finbar, Ruby Roundhouse, and Jefferson "Seaplane" McDonough.

Back in August, /FILM talked to director Jake Kasdan and asked if the same kids would play a new game of Jumanji (despite thinking they destroyed it). Kasdan said they were busy figuring all of that out. He did say he believed it would be a continuation of Jumanji as a video game, rather than the board game of the first film.

Dwayne Johnson As Dr. Smolder Bravestone

The Rock's game avatar, Smolder Bravestone, plays to his literal strengths. He's a confident and clearly very muscular archaeologist and international explorer. In Jumanji 2, Dwayne Johnson got to play against type when the person playing his avatar was nerdy, allergy-prone Brantford High School student Spencer. Playing strong Dr. Bravestone helped Spencer develop his own confidence and leadership skills. The first trailer for Jumanji: The Next Level showed Spencer's grandpa Eddie (Danny DeVito) ended up taking on the Bravestone avatar.

Jack Black As Professor Sheldon "Shelly" Oberon

Jack Black had a fun role in Welcome to the Jungle as Professor Sheldon Oberon. His cartographer was played by popular, self-absorbed pretty girl Bethany, who was not expecting to be Black's "overweight middle aged man" when she picked the avatar descriptor "curvy genius" when deciding to play the game. But, her character evolved over the course of the adventure. Hopefully Jack Black gets to continue to stretch his comedic chops in Jumanji 3. This time, as the Jumanji: The Next Level trailer showed, "Fridge" ends up in the "old, fat dude" avatar.

Kevin Hart As Franklin Finbar

Brantford High School football jock "Fridge" picked weapons and zoology expert Franklin "Moose" Finbar because he sounded "like a badass." To his surprise, he ended up in the much shorter body of Kevin Hart. Hence, size jokes. The set-up of Fridge and Spencer being former friends who reconcile through the game of Jumanji worked perfectly for the dynamic of Dwayne Johnson and Kevin Hart. The Central Intelligence co-stars have great comedic chemistry, so Jumanji 3 is going to have to harness that magic again. Based on the Jumanji: The Next Level trailer, that chemistry is put to great use. This time, Spencer's grandfather's friend Milo (Danny Glover) ends up in Franklin's body.

Karen Gillan As Ruby Roundhouse

Karen Gillan plays "killer of men" Ruby Roundhouse, a fierce martial arts and dance fighting expert. Her avatar was played by shy high school student Martha. But Guardians of the Galaxy and Avengers: Endgame star Gillan has gone on the record to say she'd love to see an old man play the Ruby avatar in a future movie. Interestingly enough, so far it looks like that's what happened for The Rock and Kevin Hart's avatars but not Karen Gillan's.

Nick Jonas As Jefferson "Seaplane" McDonough

Nick Jonas was something of a surprise addition to the group as avatar pilot Jefferson "Seaplane" McDonough. He was the avatar of gamer Alex Vreeke, a teen who got stuck in the Jumanji game in 1996. This storyline was a direct tie to the original 1995 Jumanji film, since Alex had taken shelter in the game world in a house built by the previous Jumanji player, Alan Parrish, portrayed on film by Robin Williams.

In Jumanji 2, the four main players are rescued by Alex, who was the fifth player that was missing and unplayable when the teens first picked up the game. Welcome to the Jungle ended with Alex being able to go back to his own time, and grow up to be Colin Hanks, who named his child after Bethany after she saved his life. We'll have to see how the pilot character of Seaplane is used in the third film.

What New Characters Are Joining Jumanji: The Next Level?

A few months ago, we got word on the first new stars joining the Jumanji 3 team. Ocean's 8 and Crazy Rich Asians star Awkwafina was said to play a "key" and "significant" character in this movie. Shortly after that news came out, Jumanji 3 cast list updates revealed that household name Danny DeVito would also be joining Jumanji 3. About a week later, it was revealed that Danny Glover would also be joining the cast. Now we know DeVito plays Spencer's grandfather Eddie with Glover as Eddie's friend Milo. DeVito ends up in The Rock's avatar, with Glover in Hart's, and hilarity ensues.

Dwayne Johnson, of course, posted about the new additions but didn't reveal anything about their characters beyond this little tease with his Danny Glover post: "The magic of our JUMANJI Universe is 'who turns into who?' and I'm excited for our [global] audience to join Danny and our entire cast on another wild and fun adventure." It's kind of fun seeing what surprises may be ahead, but there's more attention being paid to this movie, since Welcome to the Jungle was such a success, so they may not be able to hide all the tricks up their sleeves.

How Will Jumanji: The Next Level Connect To The Previous Films?

It was initially thought that Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle would be a reboot of the Jumanji franchise. Instead, it was a sequel to the 1995 Robin Williams movie. It didn't have many references to the original, but it was clear that it was set in the same universe. Director Jake Kasdan said he plans to have Jumanji 3 connect to both previous films, but especially Welcome to the Jungle:

Jake Kasdan also seems fond of the timeline element -- that players return to where they started in the real world once they win, even if years have passed in the game; while the in-world game retains elements from previous players, like the nod to Alan Parrish.

Will There Be A Jumanji 4?

This is most likely up to the box office. You'd be hard-pressed to find anyone who expected Jumanji to get a sequel, never mind Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle getting a sequel, too. Some people consider this to be Jumanji 2, since it's more of a direct sequel to Welcome to the Jungle with only passing references to the first film. But, some people also think 2005's Zathura: A Space Adventure is part of the Jumanji franchise, even though that movie's plot has no references to any Jumanji films. It was marketed as being set in the Jumanji world, as it's based on Chris Van Allsburg's sequel to the Jumanji novel.

Either way, it's too soon too to say if Dwayne Johnson, Jake Kasdan and company will return for a Jumanji 4. If Jumanji: The Next Level cleans up at the box office this December, and into early 2020, that'll be a good sign. But, they'd also have to come up with a worthy idea, instead of just continuing because it might make more money. If Jumanji 3 disappoints on the story front, it would put a damper on any hopes for a fourth film. So, we shall see.

The confession came during Priyanka Chopra's recent chat with Entertainment Tonight. The former Quantico actress was recently attending Tina Brown's 10th Annual Women in the World Summit in New York City, and she was asked about her recent marriage to the Jonas Brothers band member. While the often-hitched couple haven't been shy about tying the knot in recent months, Chopra admits that there was once a time where she wasn't entirely certain if Jonas was the man for her. She didn't think he was exactly marriage material, but that opinion changed as they got to know each other more and more and he became more and more supportive of her acting career. The same can also be said for Nick Jonas, who admitted that the multiple weddings they had was a bit exhausting.

Priyanka Chopra went on to say:

Additionally, Priyanka Chopra claims she and Nick Jonas share a mutual interest in charity work, which is something that helped the actress endear to the singer/actor.

Clearly, it was a wide variety of factors that culminated into a loving and fostering relationship-turned-marriage for this deeply smitten celebrity couple. And love doesn't come together in simple measures. It sometimes takes a wealth of factors to bring people together in each other's arms, and that's evidently what happened with this relationship between Nick Jonas and Priyanka Chopra. It might not have been love at first sight for this famous couple, but love made its way soon enough.

Typically, your wedding day with your respective partner is a once-in-a-lifetime experience. It's a single moment in time — a celebration of binding love and a sign of dedication to your commitment — that you will hopefully each cherish until your final days together. Wedding bells usually only ring once or twice, but that hasn't been the case for Nick Jonas and Priyanka Chopra. The celebrity couple has celebrated their marriage numerous times in the past few months, and Jonas admits that the fun stopped when he got a moment to look at all of the receipts.

The admission came during James Corden's recent Carpool Karaoke with the Jonas Brothers. In the clip, Nick Jonas was asked about his marriage(s) to actress Priyanka Chopra, and the talk show host was wondering if they were done getting married yet. Jonas gave a sheepish "yes," admitting that the bills told the musician that enough was enough. It should be noted that they only had two marriages officially, but their wedding(s) consisted of a little more than your average nuptials.

More specifically, the wedding ceremonies between Nick Jonas and Priyanka Chopra kicked off weeks of celebrations, parties and ceremonies shared between the couple. While it was fun while it lasted, it was eventually time to call it a day when Nick Jonas found himself looking at the towering bills that laid in his wake.

As for why Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas got married so many times in the first place, the couple celebrated two separate types of weddings: one Hindu ceremony and one Christian wedding ceremony. Each partner wanted to respect their individual backgrounds accordingly, and that proved itself to be an extravagant process for the recently-wedded couple. Sure enough, while Jonas is still celebrating his love with his wife, his bank account is hurting a bit at the moment.

It's a good thing he's back together with the Jonas Brothers, since he'll probably need some more money right about now. The sibling band have put aside their differences and reunited again with their newest single, "Sucker." The new song's music video featured a cameo from Priyanka Chopra, along with the lucky ladies in Joe Jonas and Kevin Jonas' lives as well. These brothers are all grown up now.

While there may not be new releases in theaters this weekend, that doesn't mean that it hasn't been an exciting one for cinephiles-- in particular DC fans. Warner Bros. revealed some of its future plans for the DC Universe, including footage of Birds of Prey (And the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn), James Gunn's increased involvement in The Suicide Squad, as well as updates from Matt Reeves' The Batman. The latter revealed that Ben Affleck won't be playing the Caped Crusader, with a younger version of Bruce Wayne occupying the upcoming solo movie.

Now the question is: who will end up being DC's next Batman? There's already been plenty of names thrown out there, including Jake Gyllenhaal and Michael B. Jordan, and now actor/singer Nick Jonas is making his interest known. A recent Instagram post asked users to suggest future Batman actors, and Jonas himself commented, saying:

This comment, which appears on the Hypebeast Instagram page shows that Nick Jonas is hoping to get people talking about his playing Bruce Wayne. With The Batman focusing on a younger version of the iconic vigilante, Matt Reeves will need to find a young and athletic actor who could take on the cape and cowl.

Nick Jonas has been working on his acting career throughout the last few years, in addition to staying relevant as a recording artist. On TV he was seen in both Scream Queens and Kingdom, the latter of which requiring him to sculpt his body as a boxer. And on the silver screen, he was recently scene in an adventure of his own in Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle, which was a major box office performer when it arrived last year. Plus, Nick Jonas already expressed his interest in being DC's Nightwing.

If Matt Reeves was looking for an actor in his mid/late 20's to play Batman, there are certainly worse choices than Nick Jonas. Although, he'll certainly be in stark juxtaposition to the hulking physical presence of Ben Affleck's version. Nick Jonas stands at 5'6, while his predecessor is 6'4, and put on a ton of muscle while playing the Dark Knight.

The Batman will reportedly focus on the detective side of the beloved hero's work as a vigilante. While he's the World's Greatest Detective, Batman's appearance on the silver screen are usually more focused on action and adventure. As such, we haven't seen Bruce Wayne apply those wonderful toys for the purpose of stealth and intel gathering.

The upcoming solo movie will also feature a Rogue's Gallery of iconic Batman villains, which is enough to get any self-respecting fan almost salivating with excitement. This will likely include The Penguin, with Josh Gad currently hoping to play the role occupied by Danny DeVito in Batman Returns.
