Not long after Saturday Night Live made its return to the 2026 TV schedule, it aired its 1,000th episode, which was hosted by Alexander Skarsgård with Cardi B as the musical guest. Apparently, though, it wasn’t all a big celebration behind the scenes, as the Season 51 musical guest reportedly threw a phone and punched a screen over a joke made about Nicki Minaj during rehearsals.

Allegedly, during rehearsals for the January 31 episode of SNL, there was a Weekend Update joke about Nicki Minaj and her affiliation with MAGA. According to insiders who spoke to TMZ, when that joke, which did not mention Cardi B, was made, she freaked out.

She allegedly destroyed equipment after she overheard the bit and threatened to leave the show. It was reported that the situation escalated, as she threw her phone at a monitor backstage. Apparently, she also punched a screen in a producer’s office and broke it.

That screen had to be replaced before dress rehearsal started, a source claimed. And apparently, this situation left people unsettled.

According to the report, the joke was ultimately left out of that week’s Weekend Update.

It’s worth noting that this story has not been confirmed by Cardi B or Saturday Night Live. The musician did ultimately perform during the show, playing "Bodega Baddie" and "ErrTime" during the musical guests' typical slots in a given SNL episode.

Over the years, there have been quite a few infamous moments on SNL involving memorable musical guests. Kanye West went off on a political rant years ago, and Rage Against the Machine had their set cut short due to their plans to protest the night’s host, to name a few examples. So, this is by no means the first time something unexpected has happened in Studio 8H.

It’s also worth noting that Cardi B and Nicki Minaj have a long and complex history. Back in 2018, reports came out that the “I Like It” rapper tried to fight the “Super Bass” rapper at a New York Fashion Week party after they’d been arguing about a verse in a Migos song that Minaj was featured on. Then, late in 2025, via The Cut, the two got into a feud on X seemingly over Cardi B’s album, Am I the Drama? which involved them calling each other’s kids out, among other things.

Again, what happened at SNL is alleged. However, these two rappers have a long and unfriendly history.

Now, as we wait to see if we get more clarity on the matter, a new episode of SNL is scheduled to air this week. Heated Rivalry’s Connor Storrie will be hosting with musical guest Mumford and Sons, and you can watch it on the show’s titular night on NBC or with a Peacock subscription at 11:30 p.m. ET.

Another back-and-forth recently erupted between former spouses Kevin Federline and Britney Spears over the former’s new memoir. In You Thought You Knew, 47-year-old Federline makes a number of major claims against his ex-wife, with some involving alleged inappropriate conduct around their two sons. Spears (43) has since spoken out, slamming Federline for his assertions. Now, another music industry vet, Nicki Minaj, has entered the chat, and she’s defending Spears against Federline’s accusations.

Known for her active social media presence, Britney Spears recently took to X to share some thoughts on the comments her former husband shared about their marriage. In her post, Spears, who was married to Kevin Federline from 2004 to 2007, called out what she referred to as “constant gaslighting” from her ex and deemed it “extremely hurtful and exhausting.” In her lengthy post, the pop star also said she pleaded and screamed to have a life” with her and Federline’s two sons – Sean Preston (20) and Jayden James (19).

That social media post has since gone viral, with swarms of fans reposting it and coming to the “...Baby One More Time” performer’s defense in the comments. Nicki Minaj also joined the wave of support by reposting the update and sharing her own take. In a since-deleted post (which was captured by DeuxMoi on Instagram), Minaj explicitly called out K-Fed:

Like Spears, the 42-year-old “Anaconda” performer is known for taking to social media frequently to share updates and weigh in on certain subjects. As of late, Minaj has been engaged in a heated back-and-forth of her own with fellow rapper Cardi B. The argument, which drew attention across the web, also got personal, as Minaj also insulted Cardi’s children at one point. Minaj has since apologized for what she said.

As previously mentioned, kids have also been a major component of the Spears/Federline situation. In his book, Federline claimed Spears would hold knives while watching their sons sleep. The DJ also accused Spears of doing cocaine and drinking with a friend while breastfeeding their sons. A representative for Spears subsequently chastised Federline, accusing him of “profiting off her.” However, Federline later claimed that cash wasn’t his reason for writing the book, as he wanted to tell his story as Spears told hers in the 2023 memoir The Woman in Me.

Kevin Federline’s recent Spears-related comments haven’t just pertained to his ex-wife, either. During a recent interview, he also talked about his former father-in-law, Jamie Spears. Federline referred to Jamie as a “flawed man,” though he also revealed that months ago, his sons went to visit their grandfather in Louisiana for the first time since 2018. Additionally, Federline spoke about Jamie’s handling of Britney’s conservatorship and said, “it came from a good place, but it ruined a lot of things.”

Following the dissolution of that conservatorship, Federline said his ex could see Sean and Jayden. That was all on the condition that the boys (who are living in Hawai’i with their dad) would be “properly supervised and safe, and Britney is able to do that without the presence of a conservator.” As Spears reportedly tries to reconnect with her sons, it’s unclear as to how this feud between her and Federline will impact it. In the meantime, it’s also hard to say if other stars might feel compelled as Nicki Minaj to speak out on the situation.

Anything can happen at the VMAs. MTV’s annual celebration of music videos has always been a hub for pop culture happenings, and with the 2023 show featuring performances by everyone from Olivia Rodrigo to Cardi B, September 12 should be a fun night of the hottest music out right now. Shakira and Sean “Diddy” Combs will receive the night's special honors, but who else will be taking home a Moon Person? Will Taylor Swift surpass Beyoncé and Madonna for the most wins in VMAs history? Follow along with me for a rundown on the winners, performances and other unforgettable moments. 

We’re less than a half-hour away from emcee Nicki Minaj kicking off the 2023 VMAs, and while we wait the MTV pre-show has been giving us a peek at some of tonight’s amazing fashion moments. Video Vanguard honoree Shakira is stunning in a gold gown, while Kelsea Ballerini and her partner Chase Stokes color coordinated in red. I can’t wait to see more! 

Lil Wayne kicked things off in a big way, proving that this night is all about hip-hop. The whole crowd was moving with him. He then passed the baton to Olivia Rodrigo, who slowed things down for a moment with “vampire” before rocking out to “get him back.” It was an entertaining opening to the show.

However, it was when Nicki Minaj made her entrance in a gorgeous pink gown with a matching veil over her face that the crowd really could not contain themselves.

This is not a drill. The members of N*Sync are all together on the VMA stage! Taylor Swift — who has officially made her entrance — was on her feet as the iconic boy band took the stage to present the first award for, appropriately, Best Pop. 

The winner for BEST POP: Taylor Swift, "Anti-Hero"

Taylor Swift has officially won her first award of the evening out of the eight she's nominated for. BFF Selena Gomez stood to cheer for the announcement. The Eras Tour artist nearly couldn't get over N*Sync being her presenter in order to make her acceptance speech, and she insisted that there must be a reason they reunited. I'm with Taylor -- is there a performance in our future?

Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion just KILLED IT on stage with their performance of “Bongos,” and nobody was more into it than Offset. Check him out:

The winner for SONG OF THE YEAR: “Anti-Hero” by Taylor Swift

Nelly Furtado and Timbaland presented the award to a still-starstruck Taylor Swift. The Midnights artist had 14 Moon Person trophies coming into tonight, and with eight nominations, she has the opportunity to surpass Madonna, who currently leads the pack with 20. With her two wins so far tonight, Swift has now tied Beyoncé at 16. 

The winner for BEST R&B: SZA, “Shirt"

SZA was not in attendance to accept the award. Before announcing the winner, presenter French Montana sent love to his native Morocco, which suffered a devastating earthquake that reportedly killed thousands. He said he is setting up an emergency fund to help. 

Doja Cat just put on a clinic in what many on social media were calling their favorite performance so far. Many celebs — including Tiffany Haddish and resident VMAs fangirl Taylor Swift — were seen rocking out in the crowd to “Attention,” “Paint the Town Red” and “Demons.”

Well if anybody could follow up Doja Cat’s appearance, it would have to be someone as impressive as Shakira. The 2023 Video Vanguard recipient took the stage to perform a 10-minute medley, and not even the flames that flared all over the stage were as hot as the Colombian singer. You know those hips were going strong, and Shakira seemed to be having the best time. The performance ended with her standing on a podium high above her captivated audience. 

MTV kindly allowed Shakira the length of a commercial break to recover from her performance, before accepting the Video Vanguard Moon Person. She thanked many people who have helped her on her visual journey, before mentioning her family, her children and lastly the fans: 

Woo, go ice those hips now. 

The winner for BEST LATIN: Anitta, “Funk Rave”

Anitta said she owes everything to her fans, shouting out the support she has in Brazil and Mexico. She also thanked herself because she works so hard. More of this self-love and recognition please!

Backstage cameras appeared to show Megan Thee Stallion arguing with Justin Timberlake. There’s been a lot of speculation on the socials about what was said between the two, but a source for Variety said there was “zero fight,” while ET’s insiders said it was actually a sweet moment between the two. Timberlake reportedly told Megan, who was getting her hair fixed, "It's so nice to meet you," and she responded, "No no this don't count, this don't count, we gotta meet proper." See the exchange below: 

It certainly doesn't look like a friendly exchange, but for now, sources are insisting there’s nothing to see here. 

Mary J. Blige introduced Sean Combs, aka “Puff Daddy.” aka “Diddy,” saying he’s earned the title of “icon” as not just for his music, but for what he’s done for other artists, his businesses, labels and, last but not least, as a father. His son King Combs was among the rappers who joined him on stage for his own extended medley, and when the time came for him to accept the Global Icon award, his oldest daughter Chance was given the honor of presenting it. Diddy was absolutely giddy, jumping and dancing before accepting the Moon Person from Chance, with his other children joining him as well. 

The winner for BEST AFROBEATS: Rema & Selena Gomez, “Calm Down”

Best Afrobeats was a new category for the VMAs this year, and the first honors went to Rema and Selena Gomez. 

The winner for BEST HIP-HOP: Nicki Minaj, “Super Freaky Girl”

The emcee of the night also got her flowers, and Nicki Minaj accepted the Best Hip-Hop award with “gratitude,” before exiting the stage by shouting, “It’s Barbie, bitch!”

The winner for BEST COLLABORATION: Karol G and Shakira, "TQG"

Shakira and Karol G brought the house down with their performances earlier in the night, but the Latina ladies weren’t done. The duo won for their steamy — and salty — collaboration, “TQG,” and the Colombian singers were sure to shout out their home country in their acceptance speeches.

The winner for BEST DIRECTION: Taylor Swift, “Anti-Hero”

She’s 3-for-3 so far. Taylor Swift was honored for her work as the director of her “Anti-Hero” music video, and since, “Direction is a team sport,” according to the artist, she brought her team up to accept the award. Will anyone be able to beat her tonight?

The winner for BEST NEW ARTIST: Ice Spice 

Ice Spice accepted her award from last year's winner, Dove Cameron.

A lot of different genres of music were recognized tonight during the VMAs, but as I said before, the night ultimately belonged to hip-hop. The 50h anniversary of the genre was celebrated with a third extended medley that featured some absolute icons. LL Cool J, DMC, Doug E. Fresh, and Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five did hip-hop right, along with Nicki Minaj. Lil Wayne opened the show with a bang and he helped to close out the show with the same energy.  

The winner for VIDEO OF THE YEAR: Taylor Swift, “Anti-Hero”

Another win for Taylor! Of the four categories she was nominated in that were shown on the four-hour broadcast, she swept the night. However, there is some confusion amongst fans on social media about winners in multiple categories that weren’t announced. The VMAs ended without telling us who won for Artist, Album and Group of the Year, Best Alternative, Cinematography, Visual Effects and Editing. 

She was simply the best. Tina Turner, an iconic singer and actress, has died at the age of 83, and as the tributes roll in, there’s reminder after reminder about how beloved she was. Following reports that the Queen of Rock n’ Roll passed away on Wednesday after a “long illness” in her home in Switzerland, celebrity reactions are rolling on a river of tears and gratitude for her. 

Among the big names paying tribute to Tina Turner on the day of her death is Halle Berry. The actress posted this on Instagram:  

The image sees Halle Berry being embraced by Turner alongside Oprah Winfrey and Alicia Keys at Oprah Winfrey's Legends Ball when she recalled meeting her. The event that took place in 2006 was an event honoring twenty-five African Americans in the entertainment, civil rights and arts sectors. As Berry recalled, the late singer “rearranged” the actress with her presence on that day. Another celebrity also wrote about Turner is Mariah Carey with these words: 

Tina Turner had an impressive career in music that inspired the likes of Carey. The singer had numerous big hits across four decades and 12 Grammy awards. Some of her hits include “Private Dancer,” “The Best” and even the James Bond song “GoldenEye” from the 1995 movie starring Pierce Brosnan. Jennifer Hudson wrote this: 

Hudson thanked Turner for her incredible legacy she's left for the world. Tina Turner was born in 1939 in Brownsville, Tennessee, and grew up singing in her church choir before breaking into the music industry in the ‘60s. Nicki Minaj also had this to say about the Queen of Rock n’ Roll: 

Turner was a mainstay in the music industry, rolling with the tides between getting her start as a duo with Ike Turner in her early years before going solo in the ‘70s and reinventing herself. The 1993 Tina Turner biopic What’s Love Got To Do With It portrayed the singer’s life, with Angela Bassett playing her. Amidst the passing of Turner, former President Barack Obama also penned the below tribute on social media: 

Tina Turner is survived by her husband and her children. Throughout her lifetime, Turner had two biological sons and adopted two children, one of whom, Raymond Craig Hill, died by a reported suicide back in 2018. Turner died at her home near Zurich, Switzerland. Here’s one more big-name tribute, with Elton John posting this: 

Can you imagine how many incredible artists Tina Turner knew? As family, friends and fans mourn her loss, she has such an incredible life to look back on. For singers, rappers or performers of any kind, anything can happen when up on stage in front of a live crowd. Artists often have to deal with embarrassing falls, forgetting lyrics, hecklers in the audience or sometimes even mishaps resulting in major injuries. Audio issues were the cause of a particularly thorny response from Nicki Minaj after the rapper — and the throng of fans watching — was left frustrated during her return to the festival for a surprise appearance during Lil Wayne's set. After struggles with synced-up audio led to someone on the crew playing incorrect music multiple times, the rapper’s frustration spilled over in a message to the DJ and sound guy.

Lil Wayne was among the rappers to take the Rolling Loud stage on March 4 for the second night of the Los Angeles hip-hop fest, and he surprised his fans by bringing out Nicki Minaj — who headlined last year’s New York-based festival. The “Starships” artist wanted to celebrate the release of her latest single, “Red Ruby Da Sleeze,” but was forced to stop the music two times, yelling to somebody backstage to fix the mix. After a couple of more snafus, the rapper and model was clearly annoyed, saying: 

While the expression on Nicki Minaj’s face was the definition of nonplussed, she attempted to keep her cool, smiling through several starts and stops of her music. But the awkwardness of the situation was impossible to ignore with every few seconds that passed. 

She told the crowd to make some noise for themselves, and an amused Lil Wayne kept the mood light by dancing around to the beginnings of the songs that played while puffing on what may or may not have been a mood-lightening substance, before taking the opportunity to wish a friend happy birthday. By all means, it was the kind of issue's one might expect to see at a high school talent show, and not one of the biggest live rap performances of the year, as it was live-streaming on YouTube, no less.

The duo ended up performing Nicki Minaj’s song “Truffle Butter,” which featured Lil Wayne, before she exited the stage. The crowd seemed disappointed that things weren’t going as planned for Minaj’s Rolling Loud performance, and exasperated groans could seemingly be heard. You can watch it all go down in the video below, with Nicki Minaj making her entrance around the 30-minute mark, and things going downhill a few minutes later.

One Twitter user said they fully understood why the “Super Freaky Girl” was upset, but despite Nicki Minaj shading two specific members of the crew, festivalgoer DJ R-Tistic pointed out that the issues didn’t actually seem to be the fault of the DJ, since there were no other technical difficulties during the rest of Lil Wayne’s set. He wrote: 

Then I guess she covered her ground well enough with her second swipe at the "sound guy." Not that she'd be quick to say "excuse me, Mr. DJ" before apologizing, at least not in th emoment.

Nicki Minaj is no stranger to conflict. She has a well-known and long-standing beef with Cardi B, and she was also accused of being “too rough” on The Real Housewives of Potomac stars when she co-hosted their reunion show. But surely Minaj has dealt with techincal difficulties before, and while it was certainly frustrating and disappointing that Nicki Minaj’s moment didn’t go as planned, this Rolling Loud blunder (probably) won’t go down as one of her biggest feuds. 

The 2022 Oscars was something to remember. There were some legendary wins, such as Ariana DeBose’s historic accolade or CODA receiving Best Picture. But nothing was quite talked about more than the slap that was heard around the world. That’s right, I’m talking about Will Smith defending his wife, Jada Pinkett-Smith, after Chris Rock made fun of her alopecia on stage that night, when he walked up to him and slapped the comedian straight across the face.

The response from the world has been mixed, to say the least, with some agreeing with what Smith did and others, not so much, and this comes from those in Hollywood, as well. From people who have co-starred with Smith, or were friends with Rock, to people who just wanted to share their opinion on the matter, here are nine celebrities and how they felt about that infamous slap. 

Steve Harvey

Steve Harvey is known for his fun TV hosting skills and creating some viral moments on Family Feud, and he decided to comment on the incident, calling it a “punk move” on Smith’s part, during a speaking engagement that happened at Georgia State University, via Deadline. Commenting on his nature as a Christian and how he personally feels, he said:

Whoopi Goldberg

Whoopi Goldberg has made her name in Hollywood by appearing in many movies and drawing eyes to The View, where she’s acted as a moderator for several years now. But, like everyone else, she also commented on the slap, saying that “nobody is OK” with what occurred, while on The View:

Kareem Abdul-Jabbar

Likewise, famous NBA all-star, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar (who actually guest-starred on The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air way back when alongside Smith) went online to express his thoughts on the matter, but did so in his own personal essay on Substack. You can read Abdul-Jabbar's full statement there, but he did talk about how it was so inappropriate for Smith to do what he did, and how it paints not only the entertainment industry but the Black community in a bad light:  

Nicki Minaj

Nicki Minaj is known for her numerous contributions to the music industry, specifically in the rap genre as a Black female artist, but on Twitter the night of the Oscars slap, she offered her thoughts on the matter, and agreed with what Smith did, saying that you have to think of it from his perspective:

Next up, we have Tim Allen, a comedic actor known for many great movie roles, who, while he wasn’t in attendance at the ceremony, wanted to express his thoughts on the manner on Twitter as well, commending Rock’s way of handling the situation and condemning what Smith did: 

Tiffany Haddish 

Tiffany Haddish has been making a name for herself in Hollywood over the last several years with appearances in several movies and TV shows, and she took the time out of her day to comment on the incident to People Magazine, defending Smith and saying it was “the most beautiful thing” she’s seen: 

Mark Hamill 

One of the most iconic actors of the last several decades is Mark Hamill, who's known for his role as Luke Skywalker in the Star Wars saga, and like many others, he used his social media platform to express his thoughts on the slap on Twitter:  

Conan O’Brien

Comedians from all over were standing by Chris Rock after what happened, but one who decided to make a little bit of a joke out of the whole incident was Conan O’Brien. The former late-night talk show host, who hosted his TBS show, Conan, until 2021, simply released this statement about the Oscars slap on Twitter:

I would have loved to see O’Brien's take on it during an hour of late night.

Sophia Bush

Last but not least, Sophia Bush of the One Tree Hill cast fame, also condemned Smith’s actions on Twitter, but was also not completely on Rock’s side either, saying that both parties were in the wrong:  

While I doubt we’re going to get as big of a moment as this one at the Oscars again for some time, we truly won’t ever forget this - and I’m sure those in Hollywood won’t forget it either. 

Over the last ­five years, The Real Housewives of Potomac has outshined even the longest-running of the franchise’s spinoffs. There have been cheating scandals, tussles, and the creme de la creme of shade-throwing. (Which is probably how two cast members managed to ink a deal with iHeartRadio for their Reasonably Shady podcast.) The current season is no different, but somehow, someway Bravo locked in Nicki Minaj to co-host the Potomac reunion special alongside Andy Cohen. However, early reports suggest that Minaj was too rough on certain stars, and she has preemptively decided to clear things up.

Nicki Minaj is certainly no stranger to having beef with people. (Just ask Cardi B or Dr. Anthony Fauci.) So it's been speculated that she wouldn't let the Potomac cast off the hook for their crazy drama this season – especially Candiace Dillard Bassett, who's been at the epicenter of problems amongst the women. On Instagram, Nicki Minaj responded to these reports about the reunion, saying:

A few of the Real Housewives of Potomac stars will likely be in the hot seat at the reunion, whether the rapper pushes for it or not. A feud has been boiling throughout Season 6 between Wendy Osefo and the “green-eyed bandits,” Gizelle Bryant and Robyn Dixon, concerning those “Eddie rumors.” Osefo has as much as said that things would be on and poppin’ between them at the reunion. Things also appear to be shaky between Karen Huger and Bryant nowadays, despite the “truce” fans saw in recent episodes. The Grammy nominee was very clear, though, that she was on a mission in her capacity as reunion host:

All in all, Nicki Minaj's comments would seem to indicate that she had a balanced approach to the gig. It's a shame that the Real Housewives of New York reunion was cancelled. Because if Minaj can do Potomac’s, then surely Rihanna would have done New York’s? She is a fan, after all.

The latest episode of Real Housewives Potomac saw a screaming match between Candiace Dillard Bassett and newcomer Mia Thorton, as well as one between Bassett and Ashley Darby. We'll see how things shake out tonight when the new episode airs on Bravo at 8 p.m. ET. 

The biggest Hollywood actors have inadvertently made it tradition to put their names on alcohol brands. Ryan Reynolds has Aviation Gin, George Clooney has Casamigos Tequila, Matthew McConaughey has his Wild Turkey Longbranch Bourbon and Danny DeVito has his name on his own Limoncello. Creed 3 and Black Panther star Michael B. Jordan was set to join the liquor brand game himself until he was called out for culturally appropriating his rum label – even by rapper and pop star Nicki Minaj.

Michael B. Jordan recently launched his line of rum called J’Ouvert, but following the backlash, he has decided he will rename the brand something else. In an apology on his social media, Jordan shared regret over offending fans from Trinidad and Tobago. Before we get to the apology itself, let’s talk about what’s been going down.

What Is Michael B. Jordan’s Rum Brand?

Michael B. Jordan’s rum line is called J'Ouvert, which is a French phrase meaning “opening of the day.” The word is also associated with a traditional carnival in the Caribbean that begins right before sunrise and continues into the morning. The name for the brand was apparently chosen since the rum itself is crafted on the same islands where the carnival was born and as a “tribute to the party start.”

Why Is Jordan’s Brand Being Criticized?

Caribbean people have been taking issue with Michael B. Jordan’s rum brand name because for one, he does not have any ties to this culture. People from the region were bothered that he would trademark J'Ouvert when the name holds a strong meaning to them. Nicki Minaj spoke out about the issue, sharing this post to Instagram:

As she shared, Nicki Minaj didn’t believe the Black Panther star intentionally hurt Caribbean people with the rum line, but she felt it was important to share the importance and why people were getting upset. Back in the 1800s, the celebration had roots in landowners gathering and imitating their slaves working in the sugarcanes. Once the slaves were freed, they started celebrating J'Ouvert, and there were fears of his brand commercializing the term away from its initial meaning and culturally appropriating it.

Michael B. Jordan’s Apology And Response

Following Nicki Minaj and many others calling out the rum brand, Michael B. Jordan has broken his silence. He posted this on his Instagram:

The actor shared he has been “listening” and “learning” following the backlash, and now plans to rename the brand with a new (but undecided) name that he and his partners can be proud of. The Without Remorse actor has made inclusion and diversity a cornerstone of his career thus far. In between this tricky situation, the actor is set to direct and star in Creed III coming out in 2022.

Was any baby really born if it wasn’t blessed by Beyoncé first? Nicki Minaj is a brand new mother. She gave birth to a son (viral baby name pending) on September 30, but the hip-hop singer just made it official by sharing a series of sweet messages she received from celebrities, including Queen Bey.

The rapper took to Instagram to post her first personal message since giving birth, sharing the love her baby boy has received in the past month and thanking her fans. Check it out:

This is so sweet! It looks like Beyoncé sent Nicki Minaj’s son a teddy bear and who knows what else to celebrate her first child. The note was addressed to Nicki’s legal name “Onika,” and it said the following words:

I guess when you see “B” and you’re Nicki Minaj, you just know it's from Beyoncé right away. Minaj shared the note along with one from Kim Kardashian and Kanye West, who kept it short and sweet with “Congrats! We love you!” She also shared messages from fashion designer Riccardo Tisci and model Winnie Harlow.

Nicki Minaj had her son in Los Angeles with her husband Kenneth Petty, who announced they were expected in July. Just two months ago, the “Super Bass” singer paired the announcement with photos of herself pregnant. Check it out:

Kenneth Petty is a childhood friend of Nicki’s who she began dating after her fall-out with Meek Mill. Her and Petty filed for their marriage license in August 2019 and officially became married in October of last year. The rapper has only been a mother for a couple weeks, but it’s nice to receive a cute update that she’s receiving love from her famous friends.

Beyoncé was featured on Nicki Minaj’s 2015 song “Feeling Myself” after Minaj was previously featured on Queen Bey’s “Flawless Remix” on her self-titled album BEYONCE. The pair must be keeping in touch, and since Beyoncé has three children with Jay-Z, the singer and actress has been open about motherhood in her music.

Through her Homecoming documentary about her landmark Coachella set and with the recent release of Black Is King, a visual representation of the album Beyoncé made in inspiration of the live-action The Lion King.

Nicki Minaj also released a new remix to her song "Whole Lotta Choppas” on Friday, where she lovingly called out Drake’s son by saying “To be honest, I hope one day we do a playdate with Adonis." Drake responded by posting the song and agreeing that their boys will set up a playdate “soon.” It sounds like Nicki Minaj’s first child has entered the world with a lot of love by his side.

For nearly 20 years, American Idol has served as one of the most famous, popular, well-viewed and influential reality TV shows/competition programs in TV history. Television in the early 21st century has undeniably been shaped by the success and influence of American Idol, but the famous TV show hasn't always stayed the same. As American Idol has molded and adapted itself through new eras of television, the show's panel of judges have been changing in the process. Once, Simon Cowell, Randy Jackson, and Paula Abdul sat around the table and determined who might be the next musical superstar. Nowadays, Luke Bryan, Lionel Richie, and Katy Perry serve as the three judges on the panel, determining who'll make it into the finals of American Idol.

Particularly during the show's less stable years, the judges chairs were left in a constant rotation, featuring a variety of famous faces only serving a limited amount of time in the judge's chair. Some people have stayed on the show much longer than others, and there are certainly some judges who didn't have a great time during their tenure on the popular series. Therefore, let's take a look at the history of American Idol judges and why they left.

DJ Stryker (No Seasons)

There's a good chance you're not familiar with the name DJ Stryker, though if you listen to the radio station KROQ, or played the video game Burnout 3, you might recognize the voice. In the early days of American Idol, there were plans to have four judges at the table instead of the custom three that audiences are used to seeing on the show. In the fourth chair was DJ Stryker, if things had originally gone to plan, but the radio personality decided not to take part in the TV program due to what he deemed "image concerns." It is hard to know what that means; maybe we will never know for sure.

Granted, this one might be a bit of a cheat, since DJ Stryker didn't ultimately accept the position as one of the judges on American Idol. Still, it's fascinating to know that this radio personality had an opportunity to become part of the one of the biggest shows of the early 21st century and turned down the chance. Do you think Stryker regrets it? Maybe. Maybe not. Ultimately, just like DJ Stryker, you're only left to wonder, "what if?"

Angie Martinez (Season 2)

In season two of American Idol, there was a second attempt to add a fourth judge to the American Idol panel, but it didn't work out this time either. In the audition segments of the reality television program, musician/radio personality Angie Martinez was on-hand to judge, critique, and evaluate the contestants and hopeful musicians who came into the audition room. But the process of turning down so many singing hopefuls weighed heavily on her. After only a few days of auditions, the radio personality left the program, claiming that the grueling process of destroying so many people's musical dreams and aspirations weighed heavily on her. In the time since she left the music reality TV series, Martinez has continued her radio career.

Paula Abdul (Season 1 - Season 8)

Among the core trio of the original American Idol judges, Paula Abdul was a world-famous musician before she became an American Idol judge. But the reality TV series provided a second career for the celebrity, allowing her experience as a singer to provide key insight and criticisms of the singers on the show. Allow with her bitter-and-sweet chemistry with Simon Cowell, Abdul served as a key component in making American Idol the immensely popular show we know it to be today. 

While she was there from the beginning, Abdul opted to leave the popular series after the conclusion of Season 8, marking the beginning of the end for American Idol as many viewers knew it. The singer left the series after she was unable to come up with an agreement with the producers of the series. Since her American Idol tenure, following a 26 year-pause from singing, Abdul began performing in 2016.

Simon Cowell (Season 1 - Season 9)

Quite likely the most famous and contentious judge in American Idol history, Simon Cowell was not afraid to speak his mind — even if what he had to say wasn't the least bit kind. While the music manager made more than his fair share of contestants shed tears, the British judge wasn't in the game to play it nice. Rather, Cowell spoke his honest truth — as he saw it (and heard it), at least. It cemented the show's pop culture legacy in the process.

But Simon Cowell wasn't mean simply for the sport of it. The music executive could usher out just as many compliments too, if the singer had the chops. Simon Cowell just spoke his mind. That forthright style resulted in many of American Idol's most memorable moments. He served as one of the core trio of judges from American Idol's inception, alongside Paula Abdul and Randy Jackson, but Cowell left the popular reality TV show in 2011 to usher in an American version of The X Factor in 2011, which was cancelled in 2013. In 2016, Cowell took a chair as one of the judges on America's Got Talent, where the television personality has remained ever since.

Kara DioGuardi (Season 8 - Season 9)

As it has been mentioned in this article before, American Idol has tried to incorporate a fourth judge onto the panel with little-to-no success. The past two attempts to include a fourth person at the table went south for separate reasons, and the show kept its central three judges for the majority of the show's run. But in Season 8, the producers were ready for a switch. In Season 8, singer-songwriter Kara DioGuardi joined American Idol as the fourth judge. Evidently, the third time was the charm for the popular TV series, as DioGuardi stayed on American Idol. Well, for a little while, at least...

Kara DioGuardi remained on the reality TV show for two seasons before leaving after the ninth season's conclusion. In a statement, DioGuardi said she felt like she "won the lottery" when she was picked to be a judge on American Idol, but the musician felt like it was "the best time" to leave the hit series. There were rumors that the producers ultimately preferred the three judge format, but it's hard to know for certain if this is the reason. For the next couple seasons, American Idol did return to its three judge format before briefly returning to the four judge panel in Season 12. Nevertheless, since Kara DioGuardi stepped away from American Idol, DioGuardi continues to perform and produce, and she starred in Chicago on Broadway.

Ellen DeGeneres (Season 9)

When Paula Abdul stepped down as a judge on American Idol following a dispute in her contract, Ellen DeGeneres stepped in to fill the now-vacant fourth judge chair. But the talk show's host tenure on the reality TV series was ultimately short-lived, as Ellen had only one season on American Idol. At the time, Ellen admitted that American Idol "didn't feel like the right fit," both due to her intense talk show schedule and the pressures that resulted from this position, which involved judging people and hurting their feelings publicly. There were several folks who were critical of Ellen's time on Idol, as the comedian doesn't have a lot of experience in the music industry, and there were a few claims that Ellen had a tough working relationship with Simon Cowell. Later on, DeGeneres called the American Idol "one of her worst decisions." These days, Ellen continues her show and doing comedy.

Steven Tyler (Season 10 - Season 11)

With Simon Cowell stepping down from his tenure as one of the founding judges on American Idol, the Fox reality TV series was in a serious changing point. With the double digit seasons came a few new faces in the chairs, especially with Kara DioGuardi and Ellen DeGeneres stepping away from the show as well. In comes Steven Tyler. The veteran rock performer certainly knows how to pack a stadium, but he didn't have an especially long stay on American Idol. The musician came on-board in Season 10, but then he left following the eleventh season. As Tyler explained in a statement, he left the show in order to continue working with Aerosmith. Tyler is still rocking with his band these days. It doesn't seem like the absence of American Idol from Steven Tyler's professional career has become any sort of monumental loss.

Mariah Carey (Season 12)

After Steven Tyler and Jennifer Lopez (temporarily) left American Idol, there were a couple judges chairs that needed to be filled. In the show's 12th season, Mariah Carey joined Nicki Minaj as newcomer judges on the popular program. But their time on American Idol would equally be short-lived. After only one season, the record-breaking singer stepped away from the reality television series, and Mariah Carey said she outright hated her time on American Idol. As a replacement for Lopez, Carey claimed working on American Idol was like "going to work every day in hell with Satan," which may have been in reference to her fiery working relationship with Minaj. While the feuds between judges like Simon Cowell and Paula Abdul were playful, Carey and Minaj apparently really got on each other's bad sides, resulting in both of them exiting Idol. Mariah Carey stays busy as a musician and actress.

Nicki Minaj (Season 12)

Similar to Mariah Carey, Nicki Minaj joined American Idol's twelfth season after Steven Tyler and (temporarily) Jennifer Lopez left the program. Alas, the hip hop artist wouldn't stay on the reality television show for long. As it was mentioned earlier, Nicki Minaj and Mariah Carey didn't get along. At least, by Carey's admission. Minaj hasn't talked as much about her departure from the series. Based on her short tenure on the show, however, it's possible that she either didn't care for the show or her feud with Mariah Carey wasn't what the producers wanted. In any case, Minaj continues to perform as a musician.

Randy Jackson (Season 1 - Season 12)

With the notable exception of host Ryan Seacrest, Randy Jackson was one of the longest-running celebrities in American Idol's history. The bassist became a household name thanks to his involvement as a judge, and through his signature line-up of catchphrases and warm personality, Jackson became an endearing presence throughout the majority of American Idol's hit run. Alas, while Jackson stayed involved with American Idol for a long time, nothing can last forever. Following Paula Abdul and Simon Cowell's departures before him, Randy Jackson became the third and final judge in the show's original line-up to call it quits and move on following Season 12. Ultimately, the judge stayed as long as he could, but it was time to leave.

Jennifer Lopez (Season 10 - Season 15, Skipping Season 12)

American Idol's tenth season served as a major shake-up for the reality TV series. With Simon Cowell leaving the hit show following Season 9, and Ellen DeGeneres and Kara DioGuardi following his footsteps, American Idol shaped up to be a different series than before as it hit the double digits. In addition to Steven Tyler, Jennifer Lopez came on-board to serve as one of Idol's new judges. While Tyler only lasted two seasons on American Idol, Jennifer Lopez served as a judge for five seasons in the long run. Although, admittedly, it happened in a rather unorthodox fashion on the hit show.

Similar to Steven Tyler, Jennifer Lopez came and went from American Idol from Season 10 through Season 11, though the musician/actress came back during American Idol's 13th season and she remained involved through Season 15, when American Idol got cancelled by Fox. While Lopez claimed that American Idol's commitments were tough on the musician when she quit before Season 12, they convinced her to return in Season 13 and Lopez remained a fixture on the popular series until its cancellation. Recently, Lopez received a great deal of acclaim for her supporting turn in last year's Hustlers. She received a Golden Globe nomination and a Screen Actor's Guild nomination, but she was ultimately snubbed for the Oscars.

Keith Urban (Season 12 - Season 15)

Following Steven Tyler's leave from American Idol, musician Keith Urban stepped in alongside Nicki Minaj and Mariah Carey to be an American Idol judge. But unlike Minaj and Carey, Urban stayed on the reality TV show for the following few seasons. Specifically, the singer-songwriter remained a mainstay on American Idol for four more seasons before leaving after Season 15, when the TV series came to a temporary end as Fox cancelled the once-popular show. When American Idol was given second life at ABC, much like Harry Connick Jr. and Jennifer Lopez, Keith Urban was replaced by new judges. Specifically, Luke Bryan, Lionel Richie, and Katy Perry. They ushered in the renewed reality TV show's surprise rebirth on a new network.

Harry Connick Jr. (Season 13 - Season 15)

Once American Idol's longest-standing judge Randy Jackson left the reality TV show's panel after Season 12, there was another chair that needed to be filled. That's when Harry Connick Jr. came to American Idol. The actor/singer-songwriter was the final celebrity judge to stay on the program as the show winded down towards its final years on Fox, and he joined Keith Urban (the only judge to return from Season 12) and Jennifer Lopez, who made her return following her absence in Season 12, as the three American Idol judges during the show's decline. Unfortunately for Connick Jr., Idol was on the outs. American Idol was cancelled following its 15th season. When it made its return on ABC, Connick Jr., Lopez and Urban were replaced by Lionel Richie, Katy Perry, and Luke Bryan. The three musicians remain the program's three judges as American Idol continues with its second run.

With that, American Idol has continued with three additional seasons on ABC. While the show is renewed for a 19th season, which will likely air later this year, it's unclear whether or not Katy Perry, Luke Bryan, and Lionel Richie will all be returning as judges. If you want to get Nicki Minaj in a foul mood, you only need to utter a name: Cardi B. It's a sure-fire way to get Minaj wound up and ready to speak unpleasantries.

As you probably know by now, the "Anaconda" performer and the "I Like It" Grammy winning-musician are feuding. They've let themselves — and the world around them — know that they don't care for each other's company, and Minaj reportedly isn't happy that Cardi B's profile is rising while her career remains somewhat stagnant. And when Minaj cancelled one of her recent concerts, the angry concertgoers knew how to get Nicki mad: they started chanting "Cardi B" at the top of their lungs, which surely didn't go over well with the once-intended emcee for the evening's show.

As it was reported by Page Six, Nicki Minaj was scheduled to perform a concert at the Arkea Arena in Bordeaux, France on Saturday, and the concert venue was filled with an eager audience ready to witness the big extravaganza. But they were met with some unfortunate news. Due to "technical difficulties," the show would not go on that evening. It wasn't the first time Nicki Minaj cancelled one of her shows for similar reasons. That explanation was also given to would-be concertgoers in Slovenia on Feb. 22. Angry about the situation, a few fans made a pointed attack.

Seen in the footage that was captured and released on Twitter, these disgruntled French concertgoers knew the way to get Nicki Minaj just as upset as they were: they begin to cheer on Cardi B instead. Check out the social media video below.

That's certainly one easy way to get Nicki Minaj salty. Did it work? Did the chants upset her? Well, shortly after the concert was cancelled, the artist went on Instagram to make a video trying to explain what happened. She claimed she was planning to make it up to the disappointed fans with a follow-up concert at some point in the future, which she hopes is soon. Nicki Minaj wanted her followers to know that she didn't try to cancel the concerts on purpose. As she explained it:

By Nicki Minaj's logic, it's better to give the audience the best show she can give instead of providing something inferior. Since she hasn't performed in the cities mentioned above, Minaj wasn't accustomed to the challenges they were facing, and she didn't know until it was too late that they wouldn't get to perform that evening. Nicki Minaj tried to explain it even more on Twitter with the following tweet.

That's not a bad explanation, but considering how Nicki Minaj cancelled the North American division of her tour reportedly due to poor ticket sales, it's safe to say that things aren't exactly going Minaj's way now. Is it time to bring out Cardi B?

Nicki Minaj and Cardi B are not on good terms right now, to say the least. The female rap artists have been on each other's bad sides since Cardi B outperformed Minaj earlier this year -- at least, when it came to the performance of her first studio album, Invasion of Privacy -- and Nicki hasn't made her discontent a secret. Notably, Minaj has been dishing out her angry feelings on her Beats 1 radio show Queen Radio, where she said the following:

The radio comments came out earlier this week, as it was reported by Pitchfork, and Nicki Minaj wasn't holding anything back in her comments. Nicki Minaj is loosely referring to an incident that occurred at New York Fashion Week, specifically the Harper's Bazaar Icons party, over the weekend. During this even, Cardi B reportedly lunged at Minaj, and threw some taunts at the fellow musician. It was rumored that Nicki said some derogatory comments about Cardi B's child, which really got under Cardi's skin. It's one thing to attack the artist, but it's another thing altogether to attack the artist's children. There's a video of the altercation, which was posted onto Twitter, although it's very hard to make out what exactly was happening. You can hear Cardi, though.

During Queen Radio, Nicki Minaj continued to dish out some drama about Cardi B, claiming that "Bodak Yellow" rapper threw a bottle at Nicki Minaj during the New York incident. The feud is currently an intense one, it seems, and it won't be dying down anytime soon. Here's what Nicki Minaj said.

The rap artist is delaying her forthcoming tour -- the one that was set to promote Queen, her newest studio album -- for reasons that are reportedly less-than-flattering. According to recent reports, Minaj is opting not to embark on this latest nationwide tour not simply because she has been garnering rather unkind press for her comments directed towards Kylie Jenner and her baby daughter Stormi, but because the ticket sales for the now-delayed tour are reportedly dire. To be more specific, the ticket sales might go down as the "most disappointing" of the year for a major artist. Yikes. That's not good. If it's true, that's damn embarrassing for Nicki Minaj too. Here's what a source at Live Nation said about Nicki Minaj's once-upcoming tour, which was originally supposed to begin next month. It's unclear when it will now occur.

This brutal ticket sales report comes from Page Six. Reportedly, Nicki Minaj is having a difficult time accepting that Cardi B has sold more record than her, and she has "gone off the rails," according to a source close to the industry, in light of this dip in her fame. That disappointment has caused the artist to speak out against her other stars, which isn't helping her reputation. The lackluster sales for her upcoming tour have gotten to her head, and she isn't taking the news well, according to the source. This tour ticket sale controversy is only one that Minaj is weathering at the moment, however.

Nicki Minaj recently earned bad press when she lashed out against Travis Scott and Kylie Jenner. Specifically, Minaj accused Scott of using his famous girlfriend Kylie Jenner to help boost album sales for his latest studio album, Astroworld, which is currently on the top of the Billboard charts. To be more exact, Minaj claimed Jenner was promising her fans that she and her daughter, Stormi, would be joining Scott on the tour, which boosted album sales. The controversy seemingly resulted in Nicki Minaj and Travis Scott/Kylie Jenner having their seats moved at the VMAs on Monday. Minaj also earned some criticism when she compared herself to Harriet Tubman on Twitter Plus, she started a feud with DJ Self when he claimed Cardi B produced the best album of the year by a female rap artist. It's evident this isn't Nicki Minaj's shining moment, and she might be waiting until the fire dies down a bit.

As People reports, the NickiHndrxx Tour will be announcing new dates that will kick off in May 2019. Refunds are currently available at point of purchase for buyers who have already gotten tickets for the delayed tour, and the new dates for the tour are expected to be announced momentarily. While Future was originally announced as one of Minaj's co-headliners, he is no longer involved with the tour due to "scheduling conflicts." The North American portion of the tour was originally supposed to kick off in Baltimore, Maryland on September 21st. While the North American portion of the tour is currently in a state of flux, the European side of the tour still plans to begin on February 21st in Munich, Germany with Future still by her side.

Nicki Minaj's newest studio album, Queen, hasn't been quite as big as the rap artist hoped it would be. To be more specific, it was recently dethroned by Travis Scott's latest album, Astroworld, which rose to the top of the charts upon its debut. Not one to take such a demotion lightly, Minaj started firing off at Scott, which ignited another feud for the female artist. And that feud came to a head at the VMAs last night, as Travis Scott and his famous girlfriend, Kylie Jenner, had their seats moved in order to avoid confrontation with the angered musician. Here's what we know about the recent feud.

Shortly before the VMAs took place, Nicki Minaj was stirring up trouble on Twitter. On the social media platform, the artist claimed Travis Scott didn't deserve the top spot because he didn't earn it. To be more specific, Minaj believes Scott's only at the top because of Kylie Jenner, who used her platform to inspire her fans to buy the album on the promise of seeing both her and their child, Stormi, on tour. Nicki Minaj doesn't believe that's right.

But that wasn't the end of it. Nicki Minaj continued to fire back at Travis Scott and Kylie Jenner, claiming that she put "blood sweat & tears" into the album, only to be upstaged by Scott on Jenner's behalf. Minaj said she's laughing about it, and she thanked her fans for creating what the artist considers the actual number one album in not simply America, but the world. Those feelings of resentment and bitterness came to a head at the VMAs last night, apparently. As it was reported by TMZ, Travis Scott/Kylie Jenner and Nicki Minaj were originally supposed to be seated close to one another, but that changed shortly before the awards show went on the air on MTV. They were seen sitting on the opposite side of the room when the show went to broadcast, and fans couldn't help but speculate why. The sources close to the awards show claim it was simply because Travis Scott had the number one album at the moment, and that he shouldn't be seated behind Nicki Minaj for that reason -- although one simply has to wonder if there's more at play here. They say it wasn't about the beef, but you gotta wonder.

Whether Travis Scott/Kylie Jenner and Nicki Minaj were relocated for optics or to dissipate any feuds is something that we might not know for sure anytime soon. Alas, Scott and Jenner aren't the only people Minaj is feuding with at the moment. The Queen artist also found herself in a social media tussle with DJ Self after he claimed Cardi B was the female artist who produced the year's best rap album. Minaj didn't take kindly to those sentiments.

Nicki Minaj is stirring up trouble on Twitter. The female rap superstar recently unveiled her latest studio album, Queen, over the weekend, and the artist isn't amused by Power 105.1's DJ Self for claiming Cardi B released the best rap album. As Nicki claimed in some since-deleted tweets, the DJ is just jealous that the female artist didn't give him proper attention earlier this year. Minaj also went so far as to call the radio personality a "reality TV hoe" and claimed he wasn't respected. Here's what Nicki Minaj said to DJ Self in the exchange.

The feud was pushed by DJ Self in an Instagram he posted and deleted before Nicki Minaj's tweet, according to XXL. In the DJ's Instagram post, he asked Minaj to talk to him after she was "really mad who got the best female album out now." And boy, did she ever. More than the radio personality maybe thought the musician would, most likely. Minaj can be ruthless when she's feuding, and she didn't provide any mercy to the Power 105.1 voice. As she claimed in the response above, Minaj believes DJ Self is just looking to get under Nicki Minaj's skin since she wouldn't respond to his requests.

But that wasn't the end of it. Once you get Nicki Minaj's started, she's going to bring hellfire. The artist claimed DJ Self was in the studio during her appearance on DJ Clue's show, claiming he was trying to hug her. That's what she believes that is what caused the hard feelings from DJ Self. She also claims the radio personality holds "no weight in the city" and made her attacks personal by bringing up this recent radio appearance diss.

And that wasn't the end of it either. Nicki Minaj went further by claiming DJ Self was also speaking unkindly about Cardi B in private, but he's not going to reveal what he said publicly. Minaj threatened to tell her followers what DJ Self said about Cardi B, souring his relationship with both female rappers.

Eventually, DJ Self did comment on Nicki Minaj's comments, claiming they were all fabricated and that she was only saying these things to promote her new studio album, which she has been trying to hype up since the spring. Evidently, these heated personalities might not find any peace anytime soon.

The rumor mill is spinning again. This time, it wants to know: are Nicki Minaj and Eminem together? The relationship query was sparked by the musicians themselves. Earlier last week, around the time Nicki Minaj announced her delayed Princess Diana-inspired new album Queen was arriving in August, the Barbie-adoring rapper was featured on YG's newest single, "Big Bank." In the track, she spit out a few rhymes centered around Slim Shady himself. In the brand new song, Minaj claimed "once he goes black, he'll be back again," referring to Eminem. Then, over the weekend, Em asked an adoring audience in Boston if he should ask Minaj out. The crowd was, of course, very receptive, and it didn't take long before Minaj responded affectionately. But it should be known that they're not yet dating. You can watch Eminem egg on the crowd below.

Affectionate to Eminem's flirtations, Nicki Minaj responded on Twitter with her own lighthearted teasing. She also saw this moment as a great business possibility too, relishing the opportunity.

While the social media response makes it apparent that Nicki Minaj is thinking with her head, not her heart, at the moment, the rapper isn't making her affections towards Eminem's romanticism any sort of secret. And she likes playing along. On Instagram, when a fan asked if the celebrity coupling was official, she responded with a simple, "Yes."

While that answer seemingly confirm their recent relationship status, those close to Nicki Minaj claim that's the artist keeping in tune with her naughty sense of humor. She's merely indulging in Eminem's playful silliness, and it's apparent that they're very friendly right now. While Eminem isn't confirmed to appear on Queen just yet, it doesn't seem to be out-of-the-question either. The invitation has been made, and if Eminem has the availability in his schedule, it could happen.

Whether or not Eminem and Nicki Minaj become an item (start proposing your date nicknames, but I like the nice, simple M&M), and whether or not Eminem accepts Nicki's studio proposal, are questions that'll need to be answered on a later date. For now, though, Nicki Minaj and Eminem are certainly tickled by the notion, even if they're not actively acting on it. At least, not yet.

The late princess has certainly received her fair share of tributes in the past -- most recently from Kate Middleton when she showed Prince Louis to the adoring public for the first time in a signature outfit designed to match the same one Diana wore decades earlier. But those tributes might be outdone by none other than Nicki Minaj. The rapper is dedicating her delayed album to the belated princess, which will be titled Queen. Set to be released on August 10th, Queen will proudly pay tribute to "Queen Diana." Here's what Nicki Minaj wrote about her forthcoming music collection in her social media account.

As the Instagram post notes, Nicki Minaj was inspired by Princess Diana's strength and legacy. Despite living a shortened life, Princess Diana made an incredible impact on the world around her, and she is still remembered fondly for her strides in good humanity. Queen will be Nicki Minaj's first studio album since 2014's The Pinkprint. Since then, Minaj has worked on singles with Gucci Mane, Katy Perry Migos and Cardi B. She has also already released a handful of singles to be featured on the anticipated album, including "Changed It," "No Frauds," "Regrets in Your Tears," "Barbie Tingz" and "Chun-Li."

Outside of music, Nicki Minaj has also been pushing her career as an actress. She recently appeared in Barbershop: The Next Cut in 2016 and she played a reoccurring character on Steven Universe. Meanwhile, Minaj has also stepped behind-the-camera as well, as she directed the music videos for "Barbie Tingz" and "Chun-Li," both of which came out earlier this year. Minaj is also working as a model and she recently tried to beat Kim Kardashian West at breaking the Internet with her own revealing magazine cover for Paper Magazine a few months earlier. Indeed, Nicki Minaj keeps herself busy.

Meanwhile, Nicki Minaj is also earning headlines for her love life, as she is reportedly dating fellow rapper Eminem. The Barbie-adoring musician was featured on YG"s newest single "Big Bank," and it was in that tune that Minaj rapped about how she "met Slim Shady," and she later claimed that "once he goes black, he'll be back again." It's possible this is simply an act, but it's getting people talking anyway.

In any case, Nicki Minaj is back, and you can look forward to hearing more from the hit-making rapper later this summer when Queen makes its royal entrance online and in stores everywhere.

NBC's iconic Saturday Night Live is heading into Season 43 for the 2017-2018 television season, and while the show will be very different this year without any major elections to cover and some notable cast departures, you can bet that those behind the long-running, Emmy-nominated sketch series are working hard to guarantee that there's a solid parade of celebrity guest hosts and musical acts scheduled to perform on the program every week.

While we don't yet know about all the surprises that will await us in Season 43 of SNL (what fun would that be, anyway?), we can probably bet on a few new cast members to fill in for Sasheer Zamata, Vanessa Bayer and Bobby Moynihan, who all left the late-night staple after Season 42. And, with many interesting developments in politics happening on an almost daily basis, we're likely guaranteed continued impressions of those in our top offices as the new season gets underway. We've even already heard that the team at SNL and Alec Baldwin, who has been lauded for his Donald Trump impression, are (wisely) not planning to give that popular part of the show up any time soon. Baldwin has noted that, even though he's got several projects in the pipeline, he is game to be around for as many Trump sessions on Saturday Night Live as possible this season.

May 12 - Amy Schumer With Musical Guest Kacey Musgraves

Comedian and actress Amy Schumer will return for her second hosting stint on SNL on the May 12 show. The Trainwreck and Snatched star will hit the stage a few weeks after her new film, I Feel Pretty, opens in theaters. Country singer/songwriter Kacey Musgraves will appear as musical guest in support of her third studio album, Golden Hour.

May 19 - Tina Fey With Musical Guest Nicki Minaj

Wrapping up Season 43 of Saturday Night Live will be frequent host and former head writer/cast member Tina Fey. The 30 Rock and Whiskey Tango Foxtrot star launched the Mean Girls musical on Broadway in October 2017. Rapper Nicki Minaj is set to tear up the stage in support of her upcoming fourth studio album that same night.

September 30 - Ryan Gosling With Musical Guest Jay-Z

The Season 43 opener will see actor Ryan Gosling host for the second time. Gosling, also known as the guy every dude's girlfriend is not-so-secretly in love with, was most recently seen in the Oscar winning film La La Land, for which he was nominated for Best Actor. His next movie is the highly anticipated sequel Blade Runner 2049, with Harrison Ford and Jared Leto, which opens on October 6. Jay-Z, who's performed three times previously, will be along to promote his recently released 4:44 album.

October 7 - Gal Gadot With Musical Guest Sam Smith

The first Saturday in October will see Wonder Woman herself, Gal Gadot, host SNL for the first time. She is, of course, coming off a major summer when her solo outing as the hero wowed audiences and critics alike. Her appearance on the show comes a little over a month before the November 17 debut of Justice League, in which Gadot also stars. The night's musical guest, Sam Smith, will be taking the stage in his second stint on the show. The Grammy winner has been working on his second album, and just released a new single, "Too Good at Goodbyes," earlier this month.

October 14 - Kumail Nanjiani With Musical Guest Pink

Also making his SNL debut during Season 43 is Kumail Nanjiani, who stars on the HBO comedy Silicon Valley. He recently gained even more praise for writing and starring in the film The Big Sick, which came out earlier this year. Singer/songwriter Pink, also the winner of multiple Grammy Awards, is due to release her seventh album, "Beautiful Trauma," on October 13.

November 4 - Larry David With Musical Guest Miley Cyrus

SNL will launch its November episodes with Larry David hosting the show for only the second time, with his first stint being back in February 2016. David, who is best known for helping to create Seinfeld and guide the show to the heights of comedy over many of its nine seasons, as well as for creating and starring in his (recently revived) HBO hit Curb Your Enthusiasm, appeared on Saturday Night Live several times during the election cycle to play candidate Bernie Sanders. Miley Cyrus, who hosted in 2011 and then took on both hosting and musical guest duties in 2013 and 2015, will return to perform and promote her most recent album, "Younger Now."

November 11 - Tiffany Haddish With Musical Guest Taylor Swift

The breakout star of the summer hit film Girls Trip, comedian Tiffany Haddish will get her first go 'round as an SNL host when she steps on stage for the November 11 episode. Haddish is also known for her work in Real Husbands of Hollywood, The Carmichael Show and in the film Keanu, and has several new projects currently in development. Taylor Swift will appear to perform songs from her new CD, "Reputation," and has been on the show several times before, including a 2009 stint where she served as both host and musical guest.

November 18 - Chance the Rapper With Musical Guest Eminem

Also marking his first stint as host in November will be Chance the Rapper, who's made several appearances as musical guest over the past few years. His third mixtape, "Coloring Book," was released in May 2016 and won three Grammy Awards, including Best Rap Album. It is also the first streaming-only album to get a Grammy nomination and win. Chance was also nominated for an Emmy this year for Outstanding Original Music and Lyrics for "Last Christmas," which was written for and performed on SNL. Eminem will perform on the show to promote his new album, "Revival," which debuts on November 17.

December 2 - Saoirse Ronan With Musical Guest U2

SNL's December kicks off with two-time Academy Award nominee Saoirse Ronan hosting the comedy. Ronan, who received nominations in 2008 and 2016, is once again getting Oscar buzz for her role in Lady Bird, which was released in early November. U2, which has won a whopping 22 Grammy Awards, will perform on the show to promote their soon-to-be-released CD, Songs of Experience.

December 9 - James Franco With Musical Guest SZA

Jack of all trades James Franco takes on SNL hosting duties for the night of December 9. He's currently starring in the HBO drama The Deuce and can be seen on the big screen in The Disaster Artist. R&B singer SZA will make her debut on Saturday Night Live that evening. The five-time Grammy nominee will perform to promote her debut studio album, Ctrl.

December 16 - Kevin Hart With Musical Guest Foo Fighters

Making his third appearance as host, actor/comedian Kevin Hart will hit the SNL stage on December 16. His film Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle will be released on December 20 and he has five projects coming up soon. Seven-time musical guests Foo Fighters will rock the show once again, this time in support of their new CD, Concrete and Gold.

January 13 - Sam Rockwell With Musical Guest Halsey

Actor Sam Rockwell is primed to host SNL for the first time when the show returns from its holiday break on January 13. Rockwell is currently gaining much praise for his role in Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri, having been nominated for a Golden Globe for his performance, which is also getting Oscar buzz. Singer Halsey will be hitting the SNL musical stage for the first time to promote her most recent CD, Hopeless Fountain Kingdom.

January 20 - Jessica Chastain With Musical Guest Troye Sivan

Molly's Game star Jessica Chastain takes on hosting duties for the first time when she hits the SNL stage on January 20. The actress, who received Oscar nominations for her work in The Help and Zero Dark Thirty, has become a force to be reckoned with on screen. Since 2010, she's gotten a remarkable 110 nominations for her roles in films like Miss Sloane, A Most Violent Year and Take Shelter. Troye Sivan will perform on the show for the first time to promote his debut studio album, Blue Neighbourhood.

January 27 - Will Ferrell With Musical Guest Chris Stapleton

Funny man Will Ferrell hits his old stomping grounds again when he returns to host Saturday Night Live for the fourth time. After making a name for himself with impressions of personalities like James Lipton, George W. Bush and Alex Trebek, Ferrell, of course, went on to take his wacky characters to the big screen in films like Anchorman and Talladega Nights. Grammy-winning country artist Chris Stapleton will make his second appearance on the show to promote his third solo album, From A Room: Volume 2.

February 3 - Natalie Portman With Musical Guest Dua Lipa

Hosting for her second time as the comedy moves into February is Oscar winner Natalie Portman. After being most recently seen in Jackie and Song to Song, Portman's next big screen effort, the sci-fi thriller Annihilation, debuts on February 23. Singer Dua Lipa makes her first appearance as musical guest to promote her self-titled debut album, which features the hit single, New Rules.

March 3 - Charles Barkely With Musical Guest Migos

March will bring NBA legend and Basketball Hall of Famer Charles Barkley back to SNL for his fourth hosting gig. The Emmy winner can be seen as an analyst for TNT's Inside the NBA and NCAA March Madness coverage on CBS. Hip hop trio Migos will head to the show for their first stint as musical guest, and will perform in support of their new album Culture II, which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart.

March 10 - Sterling K. Brown With Musical Guest James Bay

This Is Us star Sterling K. Brown will make his hosting debut on March 10. The Golden Globe, SAG and Emmy winner can currently be seen on the big screen in Black Panther, and will be back in theaters later this year in The Predator. Singer/songwriter and three time Grammy nominee James Bay will hit the stage for the first time to support his upcoming sophomore album that night.

March 17 - Bill Hader With Musical Guest Arcade Fire

Emmy winner and Saturday Night Live vet Bill Hader returns to the show for his second hosting gig on March 17. Hader's HBO hitman comedy Barry, which he is the creator/executive producer/director and star of, will premiere on March 25. Arcade Fire will join the show for their fourth appearance as musical guest during the broadcast. Their single, "Everything Now," from the album of the same name, recently became their first to hit No. 1 on any Billboard chart.

April 7 - Chadwick Boseman With Musical Guest Cardi B

SNL decided not to let Season 43 pass by without a visit from everyone's favorite Black Panther, as Chadwick Boseman will hit the stage for his first hosting gig on April 7. Known around the world for his part in the massive hit Black Panther, Boseman will next be seen on the big screen in Avengers: Infinity War when it opens on April 27. Cardi B will appear as the musical guest to promote her debut studio album Invasion of Privacy.

April 14 - John Mulaney With Musical Guest Jack White

Comedian and former SNL writer John Mulaney will make his first appearance as host on the April 14 episode. Mulaney is best known for helping write all those insane Stefon sketches with Bill Hader and he sometimes popped up on the Weekend Update segment of the show during his time there. Jack White will perform to promote his third solo studio album Boarding House Reach.

Yesterday, hip-hop star Nicki Minaj announced her plans to let her sexiness demolish the world's connected system of computer networks called the Internet. The 34-year-old rapper hopped on social media to share the suggestive cover art for a magazine featuring her being sexy AF not once, not twice, but three times. Although the magazine might land on store shelves without any warnings or brown paper bags covering it, you might want to consider this visual NSFW. Not just because it promises to bring your Internet to a halt, but also because it features Nicki Minaj getting erotic with clones of herself. Take a look (if you dare):

Woah! Although we still seem to have access to our email accounts and search engines today, we totally can see how Nicki Minaj thought she might singlehandedly--or with multiple hands, as it were--bring down the World Wide Web. Regardless, she and Paper did an excellent job of creating an image we never will be able to unsee.

Nick Minaj shared the image with her 84.1 million fans and followers on Instagram, many of whom left comments that seemed mixed. Of course, she received a lot of "ooh la la"-style support from stans, but at the same time, plenty of people hopped on to criticize the risqué image and question her intent. Apparently, the critics forgot that Minaj is the same woman who got nominated for a Grammy, a Billboard Award, an MTV Video Music Award, and a BET Music Award for "Anaconda," a song about full-bottomed ladies.

In the article that corresponds to the racy cover art, Nicki Minaj apparently hints at a possible collaborative album between her and Beyonce, so says Metro. Now that would be an effort that inevitably would break the Internet in much the same way Minaj intends to do with this raunchy photo. Of course, Queen Bey's resume includes experience in the art of Internet-breaking, as she managed to bring the Web to a slamming halt when she released her eponymous album online in the middle of the night back in 2013. Then she did the same thing in 2016 with Lemonade, and she did it again with pregnancy pictures and baby pictures. If Minaj wants to press control-alt-delete on the Internet, turning to Beyonce would be the right move.

Back in 2014, Paper introduced its Break the Internet feature with an iconic photo of Kim Kardashian. The image saw the Keeping Up with the Kardashians personality popping the cork of a champagne bottle and spraying the contents over her head to land on her famous tush. Is this new cover photo of Nicki Minaj as iconic as Kardashian's? It may very well be. After all, the play on Nicki Minaj's name with the "Minaj a Trois" title is cheeky.

Nicki Minaj also posted some of the other images from inside the magazine, and it looks like she carried the Photoshopped self-love session throughout the piece. There is a lot of hair, a lot of leather, and a lot of Minaj. But, hey, people do say that if you want something done right, you have to do it yourself, so perhaps kudos to Minaj for taking the reins.

Nicki Minaj has conquered almost every facet of show business and the fashion industry. The 34-year-old rapper has soared with number one albums. She has tried her hand at acting on the big screen, and she has judged vocal competitions on the small screen. She has dabbled in fashion design, produced a successful line of fragrances, and worn a catalog of creative costumes during her career. She even has a new book on the way. But she is nowhere near being finished. The latest news is that the hip-hop goddess is ready to take on another gig: modeling.

The news, which Vogue broke this week, is that Nicki Minaj signed a modeling contract with the NYC-based modeling agency Wilhemina. Nicki Minaj proudly reposted the announcement on her Instagram to share with her 77 million followers. The announcement suggested Minaj would join the celebrity division of Wilhemina, which also represents stars Demi Lovato, Nick Jonas, Nyle DiMarco, and Shawn Mendes.

This exciting venture may be new for the prolific rapper. However, it is not the Young Money MC's first time at the rodeo--or on the runway, as the case may be. Previously, Minaj was the face of designer Roberto Cavalli's 2015 spring campaign. Before that collaboration, Minaj worked with designer Jeremy Scott on an Adidas campaign that also featured Sky Ferreira and 2NE1. In our opinion, Wilhemina's decision to hire Nicki Minaj seems well timed. Last month, Minaj received a lot of press for turning heads at Paris Fashion Week when she showed up in a revealing outfit to see the collections. Then this month, Billboard announced that Nicki Minaj had set a new record for women artists by landing 76 entries on its Hot 100 chart, more than even the Queen of Soul, Aretha Franklin.

So, Nicki Minaj certainly knows how to grab attention with her outrageous sense of style and her provocative works, but better yet, she rises to every occasion and seizes each "Moment 4 Life." We think it will be exciting to see what Nicki Minaj brings to the table as a Wilhemina model. But what do you think? She shared this instagram photo of a Picasso painting that does seem to bear some similarity to her outfit in one specific way...

So it seems Nicki Minaj may have been paying tribute to Pablo Picasso's Woman with a Fan. Regardless, it takes a fair amount of confidence and style to pull off a look like this. Nicki Minaj doesn't tag Demi Lovato in photo

The 2016 Met Gala sparked some online drama between Nicki Minaj and Demi Lovato. Minaj uploaded a photo from the event of herself posing alongside a designer friend and Lovato, but only tagged the designer, E! News noted. Lovato responded by commenting on the shot with a laughing emoji, peace sign, and thumbs up, and then went on to share the photo --- which featured Minaj giving her what looks like a side-eyed glare --- on her own account, saying that the image summed up her night and that she didn't enjoy the Met Gala. It sounds like Lovato is commenting on a feud with Minaj, but Lovato later added a clarification to her Instagram comment, saying that she loved how Minaj was looking at her and was actually just trying to make a joke at how awkward she herself looked in the photo.

Poor Demi --- not even a week after her social media mix-up with Nicki Minaj she became the catalyst for another bit of Instagram shade, this time from Taylor Swift and her famous circle of friends. After Lovato posted a photo of herself with Hailey Baldwin, who has a rough relationship with Swift and her squad, Lovato reportedly lost some famous followers on her Instagram account, including Swift, Karlie Kloss, Selena Gomez, Gigi Hadid, and more, according to Seventeen.

Katy Perry dances to Taylor Swift diss

It is no secret that Katy Perry and Taylor Swift aren't exactly best buddies, so when Perry attended a Kanye West concert in 2016 (another celebrity who had some public friction with Swift) Perry took the opportunity to throw what looked like a little bit of shade. Swift and West had gotten into a very public battle over one of the lyric's in the rapper's song "Famous," in which he calls out Taylor by name and says he was responsible for her fame. When West performed the track at his concert, Perry filmed herself dancing to the verse in question and posted it to her Instagram.

Paris Hilton likes a shady Kim Kardashian post

Speaking of making people famous and Kanye West, Paris Hilton is often credited with paving the way for Kim Kardashian's brand of reality television stardom, and according to a post that Hilton herself liked on Instagram in 2016, the hotel heiress think that Kardashian wouldn't be a star if it weren't for her, Us Weekly reported. A meme posted by one of Hilton's fans photoshopped Hilton's face next to West and Kardashian from West's music video for "Famous," and written above them was a parody of the song lyrics: "I made his bitch famous." But it doesn't seem like the photo made Kardashian angry if she noticed it --- the reality star actually took a break from her social media hiatus a few months later to follow Hilton on Instagram.

Although she dated Justin Bieber for over five years, there was no love lost on Selena Gomez's side after their break-up in 2016. When Bieber moved on to dating Sofia Richie, Gomez had some fun on Instagram, apparently liking various posts that dissed Bieber and celebrated Gomez.

Rihanna likes a post dissing Beyonce

Two of the most celebrated albums of 2016 came from Rihanna and Beyonce, but only Beyonce's Lemonade managed to get an Album of the Year nomination from the Grammys. Rihanna fan vented about his anger that ANTI didn't get the big nomination, and accused the awards show of purposefully short-changing Rihanna in order to keeping the spotlight on Beyonce. Surprisingly, Rihanna actually liked the shady post, but as Us Weekly reported, later went on to clarify that she hadn't read the full caption and didn't approve of the Instagram user pitting black women against one another.

Ashley Greene posts shady message after Joe Jonas AMA

Joe Jonas gave Reddit users everything they could have wanted in an AMA in 2016, unabashedly discussing various intimate details about his private life. One of those stories was about how he lost his virginity, which he said was to a past girlfriend named Ashley. It didn't take long for fans to realize he was talking about Twilight actress Ashley Greene, whom Jonas dated years back. Unsurprisingly, Greene didn't seem to love the personal story being shared online, but kept it subtle, seemingly responding to Jonas by simply posting the words "class is timeless" to her Instagram.

Zendaya, Tinashe, and more unfollow Chris Brown

Chris Brown made himself public enemy number one (yet again) after making some distasteful remarks about another R&B singer. After the singer Kehlani posted a photo from a hospital bed to Instagram saying that she had attempted suicide, Brown went on a Twitter rant accusing her of making the whole thing up. Fellow R&B songstresses Zendaya and Tinashe, both of whom had recently collaborated with Brown, swiftly hit the unfollow button, PerezHilton reported. Two-fifths of Fifth Harmony --- Dinah Jane and Normani Kordei --- also joined in on the unfollowing.

It’s been almost 12 years since Barbershop 2: Back In Business was released. During this time the pleas for a third instalment to the franchise have been nearly non-existent. But, lo and behold, Barbershop 3 has been in the works, and now we’ve got our very first peek at what the comedy will look like.

Barbershop: The Next Cut is almost certainly not going to win the franchise any new fans, but from the look of the returning actors, and the injection of new blood in this trailer, it should easily have enough to placate those who were amused by the original. 

The Next Cut looks to merge together the first two Barbershop films with the world of the Queen Latifah -ed spin-off, Beauty Shop. Since both Calvin’s Barbershop and the Beauty Shop were struggling, the owners decided to knock down the wall separating them to make one larger establishment. 

Obviously, the film will see the male and female characters clash in a comical fashion due to their own array of dramas, but rather than simply being a catch-up with the likes of Ice Cube’s Calvin Palmer, Cedric The Entertainer’s Eddie, and Anthony Anderson’s AD, there is a serious hook to The Next Cut’s plot, too.

Proudly set in Chicago's South Side, the film also tackles the rising level of violence in the Windy City. Now I’m all for films trying to explore serious issues, but it remains to be seen whether Barbershop: The Next Cut can merge its comedic sensibilities and tone with such weighty subject matter. I’m skeptical, but I have to admit that the trailer’s gag that focuses on a shooting just outside the barbershop does feature a smile-inducing moment from Cedric The Entertainer.

Fans of 2002’s Barbershop and its follow-up will know that Cedric’s Eddie was probably the key component in the franchise’s success – the original’s $77 million gross came from a $12 million budget, while its follow-up managed $65 million from a $30 million cost.

Stars of the original, Ice Cube, Cedric, Queen Latifah, Eve, Sean Patrick Thomas, and Anthony Anderson, are joined by a host of new actors, including Nicki Minaj – who unsurprisingly features prominently in the above trailer as the films attempts to create an early buzz – Selma’s Common, Think Like A Man’s Regina Hall, New Girl’s Lamonrne Morris, and the rapper Tyga even makes an appearance.

With such a long gap between its April 15, 2016, release date and that of its predecessor, it will be interesting to see exactly how Barbershop: The Next Cut fares in cinemas. But having been cleverly cast, and with a plot that focuses on modern concerns, it might just do better than you’d think.

Just under a month after Nicki Minaj threw some major shade at Miley Cyrus during the MTV Video Music Awards, the pop star is headed back to television in a huge way, and it presumably won’t have anything to do with Miley. ABC Family has given a series commitment to a comedy show centered around Minaj’s life before she hit it big. They’ll need more people tuning in than just the ones that bought her last album if they want it to be a success. Not a burn, just a TV fact.

The project, which doesn’t have a name just yet, will be a single-camera, half-hour comedy that focuses on Minaj’s past, which involves her family immigrating to the United States from Trinidad in the 1990s. Audiences will see faux-Minaj grow up in Queens with her charismatic family, and will follow her down the path to her musical and personal evolution that led to her being one of the most recognizable rap artists in the country. It’s unclear at this point whether anything from her actual musical library will be used in the show, but I can’t imagine that’ll be the case. At least not until the show makes some money and possibly gets a Season 2 order. That said, Minaj will actually star in the show in some capacity, so maybe there’s some wiggle room. And until then, here's how her lyrical input will be included.

The pilot episode was written by Sex Tape scribe Kate Angelo, who will also be writing the rest of the series, as well as executive producing. That’s a duty she’ll share with Chasing Life’s Aaron Kaplan, Boss’ Brian Sher, The Blueprint Group’s Gee Roberson and Stella Bulochnikov. (The latter two worked on the E! miniseries Nicki Minaj: My Truth.) As far as Angelo’s other work is concerned, she wrote for Becker and Will and Grace, as well as the 2010 film The Back-Up Plan.

ABC Family’s Executive Vice President of Programming and Development Karey Burke is certainly on board with getting this series to viewers. Here’s what Burke had to say about working with Minaj.

While it’s not clear when ABC Family will want to put the Minaj-flavored comedy out for audiences to drop some pills ‘n’ potions to alongside Pretty Little Liars and Stitchers, it looks like the show will go into production at some point this winter in Minaj’s hometown of Queens, New York.

When you hear the name Nicki Minaj you think a sassy attitude, full of piss, vinegar, and the color pink. Her rap career has painted her in such a carefully constructed light, and it's proceeded to send her star rising even further. Like many musical artists before her, Minaj has naturally taken an interest in acting, as she's had roles in Ice Age: Continental Drift as well as 2014's The Other Woman. Though judging by this video recently released, it looks like one aspiration clearly came before the other.

Thanks to YouTube user Nicki Royale, the video above from Nicki Minaj's high school days at the LaGuardia High School Of Music And Performing Arts has surfaced. It's a short clip, but it's enough to show off the fact that the budding actress just hasn't had the role she deserves to show off her surprising level of acting ability. After all, she's only been in a children's film and a fluffy comedy, and neither were really her show.

A much better look at her comedic timing is the clip included below from an SNL appearance she did in 2011, with fellow thespian Jesse Eisenberg.

While she's obviously reading from cue cards, Minaj manages to keep the dialogue flowing without stumbling over any of the words. Even in the high school acting class video you can see an intensity in Nicki Minaj's performance with her co-star, especially when she gets physical with the prop phone. Thankfully, no one was hurt, but she gave a convincing enough performance to fool her drama coach. Not many musicians can successfully make the jump from music to acting, but it looks like Minaj could be a knock out given the right role.

Much like her contemporary and fellow former American Idol judge, Mariah Carey, Nicki Minaj could turn in a surprisingly nuanced performance if she was given a script that was as hard hitting as that of the Lee Daniels' directed Precious. After all, Carey's image was similar to Minaj's before she turned in the performance seen in the clip below.

Fingers crossed Nicki Minaj can find her Lee Daniels, so she can shock the world yet again with her star talents.

The best thing about awards shows is not watching the biggest music acts in the world perform their biggest hits. With an unfamiliar stage and a need to play to the camera, it’s really hard for these bands/ solo artists/ groups to deliver anything approaching quality. No, the best thing about awards shows is watching unusual collaberations. Short on time and unwilling to cut famous people, big names are often lumped together and no one has any idea what the hell might happen. Last year, we all watched Miley Cyrus ruin Robin Thicke’s marriage, and this year, we got a power trio of Nicki Minaj, Jessie J and Ariana Grande, all of whom gave viewers a taste of what they find sexy.

No offense to Jessie J, who rocked a crazy high slit, and Ariana Grande, who is not the same Nickelodeon star anymore, but as per usual, Nicki Minaj stole the show. Rocking a bright green two piece and later a dress that was ripped down the middle, she ebbed back and forth between slyly seductive and downright sexual, gyrating and making love to the camera with her eyes. Unlike Miley Cyrus’ effort last year, nothing about her performance seemed like a plea for attention. Instead, it was just Minaj, completely within her element, working the crowd and giving them exactly what they came for.

That’s the great thing about weird award show mash-ups. Watching one performer after another really puts into perspective who is experienced and who has natural charisma that can outshine their collaberators. It’s where the mega-stars separate themselves from the stars. And let the record show, Nicki Minaj is a mega-star. She’s got swagger for days. And the butt certainly helps.

Your average girl shows a little more skin than usual on Halloween, and as a general rule, society is okay with it. Women usually avoid talking shit about other women and the outfit choices they’ve made, and guys typically don’t make long-term assumptions about a girl’s personality just from what she chooses to wear on one night.

When it comes to pasties, however, there is still great disagreement among the general public as to what side of the Halloween line they’re on. Once upon a time, they would have definitely been considered out of bounds, but this year, they’re very on trend. As you can see from the above photo, Nicki Minaj rocked nipple tape for her bondage cop outfit, and Miley Cyrus recently did so for her Lil Kim getup.

On the one hand, it’s easy to see why people aren’t so stoked about the pasties. They’re so sexually forward that they’re distracting. They’re basically a half step up from just going topless, and they feel less like a costume and more like an excuse to just almost be naked, like they’re asking to be gawked at all night.

On the other hand, however, no one is forcing anyone to dress a certain way. If rocking pasties isn’t a girl’s thing, she’s free to dress in whatever the hell type of outfit she wants. According to Mean Girls, Halloween is the one night of the year where girls can wear whatever the hell they want, and the idea of taking that away is pretty troublesome.

Remember that angry Twitter rant Chris Brown went on in which he called the Los Angeles DA’s Office racist? Well, Gucci Mane spent much of the past few days making that tirade look like a gentle love song. Over the course of more than three dozen tweets, the rapper lashed out at some of his fellow musicians, made wild claims about sleeping and having threeways with a slew of famous females and openly discussed women he’d like to bed.

Because of the frantic nature of the tweets, the heavy usage of nicknames and the reliance on chatspeak, it’s damn near impossible to tell all of the threats he hurled and all of the people he targeted, but The New York Daily News was able to compile a short list. At one point or another, he apparently claimed to have slept with at least Nicki Minaj, Fantasia, Ciara, Monica and Keyshia Cole. Beyond that, he openly expressed an interest in sleeping with at least Rihanna and TI’s wife Tiny and hated on Drake for being a “groupie”.

Most observers may have read the above tweets with mild amusement, but Minaj obviously wasn’t quite so pleased. She quickly and angrily lashed out on Twitter to let fans know she’s never slept with Gucci Mane. Eventually, she decided to delete the majority of her response but kept the following little jab…

Gucci's new album drops at 10:17 tonight. As a result, there are more than a few people who think his little blow-up was nothing more than a way to generate press for his album. If so, the plan has certainly worked, though it's unclear whether that will actually translate into any additional albums sold.

In perhaps the least shocking admissions of the past month, both Nicki Minaj and Mariah Carey announced today that they’re done with the American Idol circus. The ladies will leave to focus on music, becoming the second and third judge respectively to leave the show after mainstay Randy Jackson previously told the world he was heading for the hills.

Given the reality show’s abysmal ratings this season and the continual in-fighting amongst the judges, it’s not a shock the women are done with the show. In fact, there’s no guarantee either of their contracts would have been picked up for another year had they wanted to continue, but a case could be made that the show may actually miss them. Carey has largely stepped into the Paula Abdul sympathetic ear role, and as the show has proven over and over again, someone needs to fill that role. Minaj, on the other hand, quickly became the single most vocal judge on the panel. From openly courting boos from the audience to disagreeing with her fellow judges to making wild, unexpected comments, Nicki was arguably the most opinionated judge in the history of the show.

Nicki Minaj is a bit of a loose cannon. She’s an incredibly talented wildcard willing to play everything from the bad bitch card to the overtly sexual card. This season on American Idol, she was late for a taping, feuded with Mariah Carey and repeatedly referred to contestants by wild nicknames she made up on the spot. That being said, she also brought an incredible magnetism never before possessed by any of the judges. When she spoke, viewers stopped what they were doing and listened because anything could potentially come out.

Last night at the Billboard Music Awards, that unpredictable quality was on full display when Minaj hit up the stage and decided to give Lil Wayne a lap dance. She keep her clothes on during the encounter, but judging by Weezy’s face, he still had a damn good time watching those curvy features up close.

The Billboard Music Awards are often a bit of a snoozefest. Between Justin Bieber get booed and this lap dance, however, last night was anything but pedestrian and ordinary. Here’s to hoping all future ceremonies have this much spark. Lord knows viewers at home will take it, as will Lil Wayne.

If you’re looking for this week’s most over-the-top video, you’ve found it. Rich Gang’s “Tapout” features some legitimate stars, including Christina Milian and Paris Hilton, who portray female waitresses and cons in a video that follows the famous faces stealing a rich dude's money and jewelry. As if that weren’t enough, Rich Gang has a pretty rich lineup, featuring Lil Wayne, Nicki Minaj, Future and plenty of others--although they get actually singing credit, unlike the socialite and The Voice’s media correspondent. All of these guest appearances lend credibility to a song that is pretty vulgar and, in the end, ultimately just an alright track.

Clearly, even though this isn’t up my alley, some effort has been put into the “Tapout” video. It isn’t often these days that music videos are able to tell an actual story during the tenure of the track, but the video for the Cash Money Records recording does. Additionally, attracting the likes of the talent listed in the first paragraph isn’t the easiest thing for someone recording a music video to do. Besides, if you weren’t digging Minaj talking about her expensive pussy, at least she is working on a collaboration right now with Carly Rae Jepson which should be far tamer.

Rich Gang is a rap group that was formed recently by Birdman and features some heavy hitters in the industry right now. The compilation project Rich Gang: Flashy Lifestyle will be available for purchase beginning on June 25.

Mariah Carey and Nicki Minaj got into it pretty good last night on American Idol. At one point, the former let the audience know the latter has never had a #1 single on the Billboard Charts, and the latter told the former to get the cotton balls out of her ears. The exchanges fell short of crossing any real line, but the same cannot be said for a rant Minaj just delivered on Twitter.

The tweets in question were partially directed toward Perez Hilton in response to this article he wrote saying Nicki totally got burned and partially just directed out to her sixteen million plus followers. Here are a few of the more aggressive tweets…

It’s been an extremely emotional few weeks for Carey. As referenced by Minaj, she was bombarded with rumors that producers tried to replace her with Jennifer Lopez. Then, the singer rented out Disneyland and renewed her vows with husband Nick Cannon in a beautiful ceremony. Now, there’s this fire for her to put out. I can’t imagine what her mental state must be like, but considering she’s making almost twenty million, I would say those headaches are worth it.

With ratings at all-time lows, manufacturing drama certainly wouldn’t be the worst decision Minaj and Carey have ever made. That being said, it seems like this animosity is actually genuine. We’ll keep you updated if anyone involved says anything else. Until then, feel free to mentally imagine how awkward tonight’s judges table will be.

Just a couple of months ago, Carly Rae Jepsen released a new single about breaking up, called “Tonight I’m Getting Over You.” The song is a little more serious than Jepsen’s biggest hit, “Call Me Maybe,” but despite this, it’s still pretty peppy and now it’s getting a makeover, courtesy of Nicki Minaj.

Jepsen’s manager, Scooter Braun, initially announced the rapper and the singer have worked together earlier this week. According to MTV News, the two have put together a remix of “Tonight I’m Getting Over You.” Though we haven’t heard snippets of the remix yet, Braun has also spoken out to say that Minaj has added a verse to the track.

While I am a fan of Minaj’s totally solo work, she has produced plenty of remixes and collaborations in the past. One of her more famous remixes is a redone version of Justin Bieber’s popular song, “Beauty and the Beat.” She’s also been involved with other collaborations, including French Montana’s “Freaks” and her song “Fly,” which Rihanna contributed vocals to. Between all of this collaborating and American Idol, Minaj is a busy woman, especially since she is also set to appear in the upcoming film The Other Woman.

Jepsen, on the other hand, is still milking the success of her sophomore studio album, Kiss. “Tonight I’m Getting Over You” is the fourth single off of the album, which dropped in September of last year. Hopefully, we’ll be getting new music from both women, soon, but for now a remix will have to suffice.

Director Nick Cassavetes is taking some curious risks in casting with his upcoming comedy The Other Woman. Just last week he cast model Kate Upton in the revenge comedy penned by Melissa Stack, and now THR reports outrageous rapper Nicki Minaj is in final talks for a role that would mark her live-action film debut. Notably, Minaj's only previous acting role was a lending her voice to an animated character in 2012's Ice Age: Continental Drift.

The Other Woman stars Cameron Diaz as a single lady who plots revenge when she discovers her boyfriend (Game of Thrones' Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) is married. But here's the twist: she doesn't do so alone. She introduces herself to his spurned wife (Leslie Mann), and the two team up to get back at him even better. Upton will play another of this smooth operator's other lovers (the other other woman, if you will), and should she sign on, Minaj would portray an outspoken assistant on her third marriage who works at Diaz's law firm.

Lately, most headlines Minaj has been scoring involve her tempestuous behavior as a judge on American Idol, so the "Super Bass" singer could use some reputation rehab. Perhaps The Other Woman will give her a chance to poke fun at her persona, and win back some fans that have been less than pleased with her antics on Idol. Personally, I adore Minaj's ballsy fashion sense and the humor it shows. So I'm hoping she'll manage to make this part more interesting than the stereotypical "sassy black friend" role it seems to be.

The Other Woman is slated to shoot late spring/early Summer.

French Montana’s newest song, “Freaks,” is a lot like other rap songs in that it discusses the good life—including drinking, partying and spending plenty of time in the bedroom. What “Freaks” has going for it that offers something a little different is Nicki Minaj, who rolls out as much dirty language as she can in her verse. If that’s not enough to entice you, you can check out the American Idol judge in the video, who has chosen pasties instead of a shirt. Also, there’s plenty of adult language throughout the video, so take that into consideration before clicking, below.

There are some crazy acrobatics in the “Freaks” video, as well as some pretty explicitly described acts. At this point, rap videos never really shock me anymore, but despite the bawdiness of “Freaks,” there’s still enough going on in the way of cool costuming and dance moves to pique the interest of even moderately interested parties, despite all the fake breasts and product placement shots of alcohol in this ish. On the bright side, the chorus to “Freaks” is petty catchy, and may be well on the way to making a hit for French Montana, a man who sorely needs a hit.

Eif Rivera’s video was shot last month and just last week some stills of Minaj were teased, but those stills don’t even explain half of the poses the pop star gets up to in the video. “Freaks” is a remake of a song from a Lil Vicious album and the latest (and second) single dropped from French Montana’s debut album, Excuse My French. The album will hit stores on May 21.

American Idol fans have heard the judges bloviating year in and year out that it’s a woman’s year to win the competition. The last time it truly seemed truly likely was a couple of seasons ago when the strongly-voiced and strongly-styled Lauren Alaina and Haley Reinhart only had to beat one male singer, Scotty McCreery, to the win. Even though that didn't pan out, this year, Idol judges Keith Urban and Nicki Minaj are both hoping it will be the year of the women.

Wednesday’s American Idol episode featured some pretty difficult cuts on the women’s end, which only served to spotlight the strength and variety of vocal offerings coming from the womenl’s end this year. After last night’s show, judge Minaj spoke to MTV News in order to discuss her hopes for this season.

This year’s girls feature powerful voices and unique voices, as well as a few young ladies that look like pop stars and a few, like Zoanette Johnson, who are complete wild cards. It’s hard to say whether the girls will outperform the boys at this point in the competition, but with the last female winner being Season 6’s Jordin Sparks, it’s high time a girl took home the prize. Minaj is hoping the girls will win and Urban went so far as to tell MTV that “the girls are stronger,” so maybe it’s not as unlikely as it seems to hope a girl will come away with the win this year. Hey, if Top Chef can do it for the second time in history, I have high hopes that Idol will crown a girl this year, as well.

Last night's episode of American Idol delivered the much-hyped spat between Nicki Minaj, Marah Carey and Randy Jackson. The episode started off with a reminder of the dispute that made headlines back when the auditions were actually happening and we finally got to see it play out on screen as the show focuses on the Charlotte auditions. It started with a comment from one of the contestants, but make no mistake, there's been tension at the judges table since Season 12 began. And really, it seemed like Nicki and Mariah were just waiting for an appropriate opportunity to disagree with one another on something show-related. At the very least, their spat was about an audition and not about something off-topic, so… points for that? Regardless, it began with something seemingly harmless.

Auditioner Summer Cunningham did her audition and - when answering questions for the judges about her music - said she "did the 'country thing'" already. The comment rubbed Keith the wrong way, though he was mostly polite about it. But the topic of the girl's direction got Nicki, Mariah and Randy into an argument. Watch it ahead.

I'm not sure what I was expecting, but I didn't realize the blow-up was going to be about how they handled criticism for a specific contestant. It came down to Nicki not appreciating the way Mariah and Randy were advising the girl on what style of music she should, which I sort of get if Nicki's a believer in letting an artist find their own style. And then again, Randy and Mariah have their opinions and that's the whole point of the show - to judge and critique. In the end, I think this was all about them wanting something to argue over and finding it in Summer's audition.

Meanwhile, Keith was there to get things back on track just long enough to get the girl her golden ticket and send her on the way. Nice job, Keith!

The American Idol judges sat down for their first interviews this week, and rather than play up the feud between Nicki Minaj and Mariah Carey, all involved decided to downplay the controversy significantly. All the bad blood and animosity was chalked up to passion, despite the fact that Mariah was so angry once upon a time that she hired more security guards to protect her from her fellow panelist.

Initially, many speculated that producers might ask the two women to play up their feud in order to generate ratings, but once it go so far out of control, they must have decided the pros of such publicity were outweighed by the possibility one of the ladies would get fed up and quit midway through the season, creating a worst case scenario.

Just because producers have asked everyone to play nice, however, doesn’t mean they’ll follow through and actually do so. Based on set reports, we know some of the audition days will be a mess of bickering and in-fighting, but as for what we’ll see when the live shows start, your guess is as good as mine.

Just as the Nicki Minaj/ Mariah Carey American Idol feud was beginning to calm down, Barbara Walters went on The View this morning and reignited the whole mess. The longtime journalist and personal friend of Carey’s told her co-hosts the worried pop star has hired more security guards because the rapper called her a bitch and threatened her life.

Footage of the onset brouhaha has been making the rounds all week, but none of it shows Minaj actually making any physical threats against her fellow judge. Instead, it merely shows her verbally berating Carey for continually citing her own accomplishments. Whether it happened off camera or didn't happen at all, Walters clearly buys it. Here’s what she had to say this morning…

In the hours since Walters went on television and coddled Carey, Minaj has fired back aggressively on Twitter, denying she said made any threats and openly mocking Carey for her unwillingness to solve her problems herself. Sources close to the production have criticized Mariah for turning many of the contestant critiques into extended speeches about herself. That’s supposedly what started the argument, and based on her comments, Nicki is definitely still bothered by it. Here’s a look at one of her tweets addressing the matter…

After a lot of speculation and plenty of rumors, American Idol finally has its judges situation settled. The official word is in and not only is Randy Jackson confirmed to be returning to his role as judge on the Fox singing competition series, but he'll be joined by a country singer, a rapper and fashion icon, and the previously confirmed Mariah Carey.

With the departure of Steven Tyler and Jennifer Lopez, we were left to wonder who would be brought in to replace them at the judges table for American Idol's twelfth season, which is set to debut January 2013. According to Fox's announcement, Nicki Minaj and Keith Urban are the two new judges joining the series. They join previously signed-on Mariah Carey and music producer Randy Jackson at the judges table.

Late last month, it was rumored that Randy Jackson might also be leaving the judges table, but would stay on in a mentor capacity. But as of last week, he was reportedly in talks to come back as a judge and that's been confirmed today. So we'll have one familiar face returning to the series, as Jackson is the only remaining judge who's been with the show since the first season.

Bringing in a popular female rapper and a country star to join Jackson and Carey seems likely to draw plenty of attention to the series when it returns next year. I'm especially interested to see how Urban fits into the mix, particularly because Idol's always been a bit underrepresented in the country music department, despite the fact that there are usually at least one or two country singers in the finals each season. And Minaj is as well known for her unique style as she is for her music, so she may have some interesting things to say on the contestants style and dress as well as their talent.

According to Fox's announcement, host Ryan Seacrest will be joined by the new judges panel when the auditions begin in New York City.

Rumors of a Nicki Minaj/ Rihanna feud have swirled for years, but considering how much people love rumors about famous women feuding, it was never clear whether there was any substance to this one. Last night at the Video Music Awards, however, legitimate proof of friction between the women may have actually emerged.

According to Media Take Out, problems between the women began following the Chris Brown/ Drake brawl. Minaj reportedly thought Rihanna intentionally stirred up tension between the two and indirectly caused what happened, a mistake that could wind up costing both tons of money in endorsements and attorneys’ fees.

When the pop stars arrived at the ceremony last night, both supposedly played nice and took pictures, but at some point, the mood turned sour. Following Minaj’s Best Female Video win, Rihanna allegedly tried to hug her, and Nicki responded by saying, “Sit the fuck down, bitch.”

Since none of this was caught on camera, it would be easy to assume the comment either didn’t happen or was an exaggeration, but in addition to Media Take Out’s source, Real World’s Trishelle tweeted about what happened. Here’s a look at what she had to say…

American Idol still hasn’t filled out its judging ranks, and until it does, we will continue to get random musicians linked to the vacancies. The latest to get her turn in the spotlight is Nicki Minaj, though if the rumors surrounding her are to be believed, this one may actually have real merit.

According to US Weekly, the specifics of her contract are being finalized now. If all moves forward smoothly, she should sign on the dotted line soon and officially join Mariah Carey for the rebirth of the most popular show on television.

Of course, that’s US Weekly’s take. No one connected with the pop star has admitted she’s on board, and representatives from American Idol have refused to comment. As a result, it seems premature to pencil her in, especially given how many other big name stars have been linked to openings on the show over the past couple of years.

If she does wind up with a seat at the table, however, I think this casting is a home run. Not only is she actually on an upward trajectory of popularity, Minaj is a knowledgeable woman with a unique take on the industry. The contestants could use her perspective and viewers would likely be interested in what she has to say. Whether she can save the show is another matter entirely though.

For the past few years, AI has been losing fans. Many predicted the loss of Jennifer Lopez would signal the final decline, but if Minaj comes on board, I think she could potentially right the ship. If all the names recently rumored to be American Idol judges next season were actually confirmed, there wouldn't be nearly enough bright red Coca Cola cups to go around. Everyone from Nick Jonas to Brad Paisley to Sean Combs has been rumored lately, and with only Mariah Carey confirmed to join, there's at least one spot left to fill-- not 10. Still, it's time to add a new name to the pile, with Nicki Minaj now rumored to be joining the judge's table.

And if you believe the report at Us Weekly, this is way more than just a rumor-- their insider tells them "I'm not sure the deal is completely done yet, but yes, she is definitely doing it." Fox and Minaj have no comment, of course, but Us was also the first outlet to report that Nick Jonas was being considered for a judge's position, so we have reason to believe they've got good intel coming from somewhere.

Minaj is set to start her own world tour on October 21, but with Idol gearing up to air in January, it's unclear how she'd be able to make that work with her tour schedule. There's also the fact that Minaj is very much an up and comer, while typical Idol judges in the past have had their glory days behind them-- Carey being a prime example of that model. Bringing Minaj and Jonas in as judges might be a good way of continuing to reach out to younger viewers, but will they be willing to take all that time away from their own careers? We'll see what happens when all these new additions are finally confirmed.

Between showcasing a stunning Super Bowl halftime show featuring a controversial middle finger wave from artist M.I.A and problems with Girls Gone Wild creator over the title to one of her new songs, Madonna has been a very busy, very public figure over the last several months. With that in mind, it is no surprise the Material Girl's 12th studio album is all over the Billboard 200 chart.

MDNA only dropped on March 26, but, in a little over a week, the album has already managed to hit #1. With its club pumping tracks and M.I.A. and Nicki Minaj popping in to help out on “Give Me All Your Luvin,’” it is no real surprise MDNA beat out another veteran for that prime position. Lionel Ritchie’s Tuskegee came in second, more than 150,000 album sales behind.

According to MTV News, Madonna’s new number 1 album puts her in a fairly unique position as a music artist. The 53 year-old singer, actor, and director is now the second artist to have ever earned the top position on the Billboard charts eight times. The other female artist to do this is Barbara Streisand, who has actually earned the accolade on a record nine occasions.

So, 359,000 copies of MDNA have been sold. Think the pop icon can pull in another #1 next week when Nicki Minaj’s new album Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded pulls in a full week of sales? We'll have to wait and see.

Nicki Minaj has had a couple of big weeks. First, she starred in the Super Bowl halftime show with Madonna and M.I.A. Then, she worked it in a featured performance at the Grammy Awards Ceremony. It has been four days since that latter gig and people are still talking about Minaj’s performance. Which naturally irritates the hell out of Lil’ Kim.

Lil’ Kim joined Andy Cohen and guest star Willie Geist for a late night chat on Watch What Happens Live where Lil’ Kim chatted about everything from her former stint in jail to Nicki Minaj’s Grammy performance, which Lil’ Kim supposedly missed. While the whole episode as a whole was pretty riled up, the crowning moment of the interview may have been a short conversation about Minaj’s new single “Stupid Hoe,” in which Lil’ Kim called Minaj “a stupid hoe.”

Prior to this, the battle between the two female rappers has mostly been relegated to not-so-nice lyrics in songs, which is what makes the interview so completely unexpected. After Nicki Minaj showed up to the Grammys dressed in a bold red cape and towing around what looked to be a patriarch of the Catholic Church, Twitter and other outlets were abuzz with her costume shenanigans. The “Super Bass” singer was also scheduled to perform at the Grammys, and during the performance she pulled out her alter ego, Roman, and some not-so-subtle shots at religious institutions. Now, she’s spoken out about what her performance at the Grammys was meant to be.

Minaj does not seem to regret choosing the song “Roman Holiday” over some of her well-known, pop-oriented pieces. On Monday, the singer spoke with Ryan Seacrest about her Grammy experience and why she made the decisions that led to a controversial performance.

Choosing to do a song based around what she calls “the exorcism” of her alter-ego, Roman, is certainly ballsy. Seacrest even goes as far as to call it “groundbreaking.” Minaj, to her credit, is really rolling with the introducing Roman as a performance art theme.

She also added that she was super comfortable on the Grammy stage, which truly showed with her Roman alter ego.

The interview also touches on Minaj’s recent experience with working with Madonna at the Super Bowl halftime show, and what she thinks about M.I.A.’s fateful gesture. Whether or not we all totally buy into Minaj’s alter ego is yet to be seen; however hearing Minaj talk about her recent experiences is totally worth a listen. Check out Seacrest’s interview, below.

Sure, a lot of us will use this Sunday's Super Bowl halftime show to take a bathroom break, order another pizza or get our eyes off the damn TV for a second. But Madonna's halftime performance will still wind up with a ton of viewers, with the potential to give the Material Girl another new round of fans, or at least remind us that she's still out there doing some pretty interesting stuff. But Madonna isn't going to let halftime be the only moment for her to get some Super Bowl-related attention. In the new video for her single "Give Me All Your Luvin'," she's got two teams worth of football players serving as her backup dancers, holding her up, taking bullets for her, and treating her as much, much more important than the Lombardi trophy. You may notice two pretty high-profile cameos in among her backup cheerleaders-- that's M.I.A. and Nicki Minaj, two superstars in their own right who are confirmed to join Madonna at the big halftime show. The question now is whether "Gimme All Your Luvin" is catchy enough to be worth the giant spotlight of the Super Bowl. The cheerleader-led hook is fun enough, and the Nicki Minaj rap near the end adds a definite element of youth appeal that Madonna will need. But who's going to really claim that she wouldn't bring down the house just as well with a performance of "Like A Virgin," or even one of her better-known newer songs? I'm looking forward to seeing what kind of stagecraft she pulls out for the halftime show, since this video seems to suggest no limit of opportunities. But I'm not sure this song will be enough to lure me back to the TV at halftime.

Madonna may have a fresh new album coming out in the spring, but since she has lacked in the hit department in recent years, it seemed her 2012 Super Bowl halftime gig could run a little stale. Luckily, the 53 year-old recording artist pulled some strings, bringing in the Cirque De Soleil crew for added affect, as well as two hot younger recording artists to amp the performance a bit.

Nicki Minaj and M.I.A are set to perform at Super Bowl XLVI in Indianapolis, IN. M.I.A. confirmed the announcement while speaking to Zane Lowe on his BBC 1 radio program. In addition to verifying she will be there to do her thing during the halftime show, M.I.A. had a lot of confident things to say about herself and Minaj's musical prowess.

Biggest female icons or no, it is fitting Minaj and M.I.A. are set to join Madonna during the halftime show. According to NME, Minaj and M.I.A. are both contributing guest vocals to Madonna’s brand new single, “Give Me All Your Luvin.” The song will not street until February 3, and will not be well known by the time the game rolls around on the 5th, but I would be willing to bet it shows up in the halftime performance this weekend. Maybe the whole thing will even be a little exciting. If there’s any value Madonna has ever been good for in the past, it is shock value.
