As of late, Sean “Diddy” Combs and his legal team have been working to appeal his conviction and have him released from prison early. The 56-year-old rapper and his legal team took a major step forward in that process when a court hearing was arranged for their oral arguments to be heard. That hearing was held on April 9 and, during it, Combs’ lawyers presented alleged evidence and argued for his immediate release. While it’s still unclear whether Diddy will be successful but, per insiders, his neighbors have concerns.

How Do Diddy’s Neighbors Allegedly Feel About Him Possibly Exiting Prison Early?

Combs owns two homes – one in the Holmby Hills suburb of Los Angeles and one in Miami’s Star Island. Residents near his LA-based abode are reportedly the ones feeling uneasy about him possibly being released early. Sources for TMZ alleges that neighbors are worried about Diddy bringing unwanted attention to the area upon his return. Among Combs’ high-profile neighbors are ex-Google CEO Eric Schmidt, model Miranda Kerr and director Ridley Scott (and Scott was flummoxed when the feds raided Diddy’s home in 2024).

Insiders also claim residents are concerned about Combs’ older kids reinitiating undesirable habits once their father is out of prison. Per the report, Diddy’s children would throw loud parties that would lead to visits from law enforcement. However, another source disputed that claim, saying that the kids let neighbors know about parties beforehand. Additionally, it’s said that only Combs’ 18-year-old twin daughters – D'Lila and Jessie – and his aunt are currently living in the house.

As far as the neighborhood goes, residents aren’t the only ones who are being impacted by Diddy’s incarceration and potential release. TMZ also reports that realtors who are showing homes in the area have been disclosing the Combs connection. Per the outlet, the realtors are concerned that they could face lawsuits if they don’t share that information. What’s unclear is whether those home sellers are also mentioning anything about the rapper’s appeal.

Why Did Diddy Go To Prison, And What’s Going On With His Appeal?

Sean Combs’ homes were raided in 2024 as part of a federal investigation into sex-trafficking, and he was arrested later that year. In May 2025, Combs went on trial, and it ended in July with him receiving a mixed verdict. The Sean John mogul was found guilty on two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution but acquitted on the more serious charges, which were sex-trafficking and racketeering. By that fall, Combs was sentenced to four years (roughly 50 months) in prison, and he’s currently serving that time at FCI Fort Dix in New Jersey.

Efforts to appeal Diddy’s conviction began shortly after he went to prison. Around the time the “Show Me Your Soul” singer was transferred to Fort Dix, he saw a legal victory due to a U.S. Circuit Court Judge approving his request to have his appeal process expedited. Combs’ lawyers have since argued that Judge Arun Subramanian – who presided over his trial – relied on his own findings to determine that the women who made assault claims against their client were “coerced,” “exploited” and “forced” into those sexual situations.

Combs’ guilty charges came under The Mann Act, and his lawyers have consistently argued that Judge Subramanian – who they've referred to as the "thirteenth juror” – handed out a sentence that was higher than the legal statute for crimes that fall under the Mann Act. That argument came up again during the recent hearing, per NBC News. The past few months have also seen Combs’ attorneys argue that his actions were protected by the First Amendment due to him supposedly just engaging in voyeurism (or watching sexual activity).

Prosecutors, however, filed their own paperwork earlier this year, and they don’t agree with the arguments from Diddy’s lawyers. At the oral arguments hearing, prosecutors sought to uphold Judge Subramanian’s decision and argue that the conviction was apt for the offenses. Abiding by protocol, the three-judge panel at the hearing didn’t immediately provide a ruling. So, as of right now, Diddy’s neighbors – and the public at large – will have to wait and see if he does get released and move back into his house.

Sean Combs has made it through the holidays, experiencing one of several Christmases he’ll spend behind bars before his scheduled release in May 2028. This included a visit from his son Justin, a private Mass at FCI Fort Dix, a meal of baked cornish hen, and, apparently, a look into his future. Mirroring a move that his ex-girlfriend Jennifer Lopez made a few months ago, Diddy decided to pull his Beverly Hills mansion off the market.

One week before his arrest in September 2024, Diddy put his mansion — made famous following federal raids on the property in March of that year that produced more than 1,000 bottles of lubricant for his “Freak Off” parties — up for sale, hoping to get $61 million for the estate he purchased for $39 million in 2014. However, the New York Post reports he’s reversed his decision, suggesting he may move back in when his 50-month sentence has been served.

As the 17,000-square-foot estate sat on the market, it was speculated that the criminal allegations against P. Diddy could be affecting buyers’ interest. The home — which boasts neighbors including Ridley Scott, Kylie Jenner, Jennifer Lopez and the Playboy Mansion — was allegedly one of the sites of the music mogul’s infamous days-long sex parties that were talked about at length during his 2025 trial.

Speaking of Jennifer Lopez, she and Ben Affleck recently made a similar decision regarding the home they purchased together before deciding to divorce. After going months with no offers, the former couple reportedly made the choice together to pull it off the market.

Obviously, the two situations are different, with Sean Combs being in jail, but it seems their motivations might be similar. In addition to not wanting to drop the selling price any further, eagle-eyed fans realized that Jennifer Lopez is still living there. Renovations are being done on her Hidden Hills home that reportedly would make living there uncomfortable, and the Hustlers actress is still paying for the 12-bedroom property, so why not use it?

Diddy may have come to his own decision out of necessity, as he’ll presumably need a place to live upon his release from federal prison. The Holmby Hills home, located on so-called Billionaire’s Row, reportedly boasts 10 bedrooms, 13 bathrooms, a 35-seat movie theater, library, wine cellar, gym and sauna.

It sits on 1.3 acres of land inside the gated community and also includes a pool, basketball half-court and an outdoor kitchen. A separate guest house houses the music mogul’s recording studio and a spa.

If he chooses to return to this home, it will be quite a change from what he’s experiencing at the low-security federal prison in New Jersey. When Sean Combs was arrested in 2024, he was charged with sex trafficking, racketeering and transportation to engage in prostitution; however, he was later acquitted of the first two crimes, which would have carried a much longer prison sentence.

For the two counts of transporting individuals across state lines for prostitution, a judge sentenced Diddy to 50 months in prison with time served, as well as the maximum fine of $500,000. After his release, there will be a lot of special conditions he’ll have to continue to follow, but it sounds like he might know the home he’ll return to when that time comes.

Over the last year, Sean “Diddy” Combs has spent a lot of time in courtrooms, and 2026 is looking to be more of the same. The rapper and mogul’s trial, which ended in conviction on two counts of violating the Mann Act, took up a large part of 2025. The issue at hand stems from specific video footage featured in the documentary, which shows Diddy in a hotel room yelling at his lawyers. According to Diddy’s team, the footage in question was illegally obtained. Prior to the documentary’s release, a cease and desist letter was sent to Netflix, which accused the film of using stolen footage and threatened legal action if the series was released. It also accused Netflix and producer 50 Cent of only producing the documentary because both had a previous beef with Diddy.

Certainly, if the footage was stolen, then it would seem Diddy at least has a case. That said, Netflix has responded that it obtained the footage in question legally, so if a lawsuit is brought, it will likely be contested.

Of course, even if Diddy’s side feels it has a strong legal case, there are reasons the lawyers might decide not to proceed with a lawsuit. It may all come down to the status of the appeal of Diddy’s conviction. If there ends up being another trial on the two counts that the rapper was convicted on, it could be decided that the focus of all the legal energy (and money) should go there.

On top of the potential appeal, there is also a long list of lawsuits that have been filed against Diddy. While some of those have already been settled or otherwise ended, and many likely will never see a courtroom, each one will still need to be dealt with, requiring hours of work from lawyers. The one thing Diddy can probably be sure of in 2026 is that he’ll be continuing to work with his lawyers very closely.

Though it’s been well over a year since Sean “Diddy” Combs was first arrested and put behind bars, this past week marked his first official Christmas holiday spent in prison proper, as he was held from September 2024 through October 2025 within Brooklyn's Metropolitan Detention Center. With some thoughts no doubt focused on his looming release date tentatively set for May 2028, Diddy did have reason to celebrate the holiday this year, thanks in part to a visit from one of his sons, as well as another round of court appeals being filed.

How Diddy Spent Christmas Day In Prison

Per his own request, Diddy was transferred to New Jersey’s FCI Fort Dix correctional facility in late October 2025, weeks after the former rapper and mogul was sentenced to 50 months in prison after being found guilty by jury of violating the Mann Act. His first Christmas within that institution included a visit from his firstborn child, Justin Combs.

According to TMZ, Diddy’s representative Juda Engelmayer shared that Justin Combs made an in-person visit to FCI Fort Dix, and he and his father spent part of Christmas Day together, though it’s made clear that there was no actual gift-giving involved, as that’d have been an unlawful act. Instead, they reportedly spent their time together catching up and talking about a variety of topics.

Beyond the expected current life updates, Engelmayer claimed that the two Combs men prayed together and discussed handling life issues during such troublesome times. As well, they reportedly talked about other loved ones in appreciative ways while also addressing the overall idea of making up for past wrongs with one’s future actions.

Though Diddy's son King Combs previously raised eyebrows with his hopeful comments about his father's release ahead of the holidays, the rapper apparently did not make a visit to the prison himself.

The father-son visit, which sounds like it was a positive experience for both men, was followed by Diddy sharing in a “private reflective mass” on Christmas Day with a handful of other FCI Fort Dix inmates. Diddy has long expressed a belief in God, while never adhering to any specific religions of followings.

News about Jeffrey Combs’ prison visit comes days after it was revealed what Diddy would be eating for their Christmas meal along with other inmates. The menu was said to be different from the chow offered for Thanksgiving this year, though not so dissimilar from his holiday fare in the Brooklyn facility, with lunch being the big draw.

Diddy's Legal Team Calls Judge A "Thirteenth Juror" In Newest Appeal

On December 23, Diddy's legal team filed its latest appeal for the rapper's sentencing to be reversed or shortened. What makes this paperwork standout from previous filings is that lead appeal attorney Alexandra Shapiro pointedly goes after Judge Arun Subramanian for his "draconian" sentencing of 50 months, calling him a "thirteenth juror" in the process.

Per TMZ, Shapiro pointed out that during the sentencing, the judge stated that he could view Diddy's behavior in light of the more violent claims made against him, which she says goes against her client's constitutional rights, as he'd been aquitted of racketeering and sex trafficking. The attorney argues that the sentencing should have only taken into account the charges that he was found guilty on, and that he deserves a lighter sentencing for the two counts of transporting individuals for the purpose of prostitution.

At this point, federal prosecutors don't appear to have filed any official responses yet, but they still have several months to issue one before an appellate court would see the case.

The trial of Sean “Diddy” Combs spent a lot of time discussing the massive parties that the rapper and mogul used to throw. In it, Harp relays that she’s been watching a new Diddy docuseries, likely Sean Combs: The Reckoning, produced by 50 Cent and available with a Netflix subscription. It turns out that the friends once attended a party thrown by Diddy, which was the site of a freak off. Harp wrote…

Harp includes an image from the event, which took place following the VMAs in 2004. Based on testimony that was given during Diddy’s trial for sex trafficking, it was revealed that Diddy would host events he called freak-offs, which often included him recording other people involved in sex acts. Most people at the party had no idea this was going on, as only some of the guests were actually part of the frak-offs.

Michelle Branch admits that she wondered if the Diddy party they had attended was more than it appeared to be. However, it sounds like the singers might have even been gone from the event before anything illicit began to take place. Harp says they left early, and instead of hanging with Diddy, they hung out with a very different celebrity and ate tacos. Harp wrote…

It’s unclear from the grammar if Branch and Harp smoked with Wilson, and then ate tacos with him, or if they smoked on their own, before meeting up to eat tacos. Either certainly sounds like a much more preferable evening to whatever may have been going on at Diddy’s party.

It’s certainly interesting. One imagines that the celebrity life is one of constant glamour, and it certainly has those moments. Honestly, the lavish parties thrown by Diddy are exactly what we imagine celebrities doing every night. Sometimes, however, even after a big event like an awards ceremony, a night is just hanging out with friends with weed and tacos. Honestly, that’s the party I’d rather hang out at anyway.

The rap world is full of personal conflict, some of which has been known to erupt into violence, but none of the current battles between rappers has been quite as tense as that between 50 Cent and Diddy. The former recently released a documentary on the latter, one of several that have been produced over the last year or so, focusing on the legal troubles that have landed him in prison for the next three years. Diddy has had strong words for his rival, but is he now trying to mend fences?

In a move that I can safely say nobody saw coming, 50 Cent posted to X that he recently received a bouquet of flowers that he claims was sent to him by Diddy. 50 Cent uses some pretty rough language to express his own surprise.

The card that is visible only shows the delivery address, and thus it can’t be confirmed by the picture alone who sent the flowers. Still, at this point, there’s no reason not to believe 50 Cent that the flowers came from Diddy. Of course, the next obvious question is, why?

Was this some attempt at a peace offering? Maybe Diddy is just tired of the fighting with 50 Cent and is trying to end things. Alternatively, perhaps this was meant as a joke, with Diddy knowing that receiving flowers from him would set 50 Cent off. If that was the goal, he was clearly successful. Under the circumstances, the latter explanation seems more likely, but it’s all anybody’s guess.

Unless this was a joke from 50 Cent, claiming Diddy sent him flowers, or a joke from a third party making it appear Diddy had done so. Whatever the answer, it's all very strange.

Flowers are certainly the opposite message that Diddy and his team have been sending recently in regards to Sean Combs: The Reckoning, the new documentary series that was produced by 50 Cent and is now available with a Netflix subscription. Combs’ side accused the new docuseries of using stolen footage. 50 Cent has also been accused of only making the series to disparage him because of their years-long personal beef.

Diddy is currently incarcerated at FCI Fort Dix, a low-security federal detention center in New Jersey, where he is set to serve the sentence he received after being found guilty of two counts of violating the Mann Act. The conviction has already been appealed and has been granted an expedited review, meaning the appeal could be heard as early as next April.

It will certainly be interesting to see if we hear anything from Diddy’s team either confirming that he sent flowers or explaining why it was done. If this was some sort of mind game on the part of Diddy, it seems likely 50 Cent will respond in some way. It seems likely this feud is far from over.

Diddy’s spent a few holidays behind bars now, and with an expected prison release date of June 4, 2028, he’ll likely spend quite a few more in a cell. Holidays are still a bit special in prison, and I’ve always been a little fascinated by the differences between incarceration locations when it comes to handling Thanksgiving, Christmas and more. You need look no further than Elizabeth Holmes’ meal versus Diddy’s to highlight one big difference.

What Elizabeth Holmes (And Co.) Will Be Eating On Thanksgiving

Elizabeth Holmes, the famous Theranos founder and subject of documentaries like The Inventor and series like The Dropout, is currently being housed at Federal Prison Camp Bryan, which is located in Bryan, Texas. The convicted swindler has called life behind bars “hell and torture” since she reported to the camp in 2023, but in some ways she has it good compared to convicts in other locations.

In fact, because Bryan is seen as a “camp” there’s one big difference between meals at the Federal Prison Camp and elsewhere: They are allowed to have bones. So, on Thanksgiving Day, Holmes will get to sit down and eat a turkey leg, bone in baby.

Of course, that meal will be on the early side, at 11 am, but along with the traditional veg and starch trimmings, Ms. Holmes will get what the prisons call “turkey on the bone.” You may think this is not a big deal, but prison consultant Sam Mangel told Business Insider it’s actually an indicator of “trust.”

It sounds great, but the prison expert was also quick to note the good eating is only good compared to some.

Holmes was sentenced to 11 years, so she'll be doing the drumstick thing for a while longer. In addition, Jen Shah and Ghislaine Maxwell are also currently housed in the same institution and will receive the same meal. But what about prisoners elsewhere? What’s Diddy eating today?

What Will Diddy Be Eating On Thanksgiving?

Like the women at the Federal Camp, Diddy's big meal will also come early in the day, but he won't have an option for a bone-in turkey meal. Information from Fort Dix lists a turkey roast with gravy for the main meal. We previously reported sides with the meal included mashed potatoes and corn. We hear cornbread may also be involved. So, lot's of starch in this meal.

Soy chicken and veggies will be offered as an alternative. Later in the day, a choice of peanut butter and jelly or deli sandwiches will be served, per US. Those will come with potato chips.

Not a bad spread. but you'll notice there are no bones in sight here. That's not the only difference between prisons, but it certainly is a big one. In addition, more minimum security prisons often allow their inmates real cutlery. Think: knives and forks, rather than sporks. Mangel also noted:

All in all, Thanksgiving and Christmas are better days for people like Diddy and Holmes in prison, but New Year's is notably less of a pleasant day. Those who work the beat are also very honest that "Nobody wants to be here," so turkey bone-in, knives or sporks, it's still not the best day.

Halloween is usually a time for people to dress up and pretend to be someone they’re not. One imagines it’s the sort of distraction that those in the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, New York, could use. That’s where Diddy will spend this Halloween, and it certainly won’t be the party he’s used to, especially after he spent his last free Halloween as Batman.

What Happens On Halloween In Prison

Diddy is awaiting transfer to the Federal Correctional Institution Fort Dix in New Jersey, the minimum security facility, which his legal team had requested be used for the duration of his sentence. That transfer won’t take place before this weekend, however, which means Diddy will spend his second Halloween at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, New York, where he was incarcerated prior to his trial.

It’s not exactly surprising that inmates aren’t allowed to go around in costume. But while the MDC does allow for some minor celebrations on some holidays, apparently, Halloween isn’t one of them. People reports that there’s a strict “no candy on Halloween” rule.

Instead, Diddy will get cereal for breakfast, baked fish for lunch, and roast turkey and gravy as his three square meals on Halloween. It’s not much, and it’s probably not great considering the food at the MDC has a reputation for being especially bad.

Diddy’s Last Halloween Before Jail Included Batman

Perhaps next Halloween, when he’s incarcerated in a minimum security prison, Diddy will have an experience that more closely resembles his last Halloween. He was in jail awaiting trial last year, so his last Halloween as a free man was in 2023.

Diddy went as Christopher Nolan’s Batman, and even recorded a short film to go along with it that sees him single-handedly end the SAG-AFTRA strike that was going on at the time.

To be fair, the actors' strike did end about a week after Halloween, which makes Bat-Diddy's comments very relevant for the time.

And if you’re at all believing that any of that was simple movie magic, Diddy attended a Halloween bash that year in full Dark Knight costume, and he brought the Batmobile with him.

The Batman costume came a year after Diddy dressed as the Joker and seemed to be a jab at Warner Bros., which he says sent him a letter saying he was violating trademarks by dressing as the Clown Prince of Crime.

Diddy is currently scheduled to be released from prison in May 2028, though an early release for good behavior is possible. Perhaps he could celebrate Halloween again in his traditional fashion as early as 2027. Although Diddy’s legal team is appealing his conviction, so, this legal battle isn’t over yet.

Diddy’s trial dominated headlines this summer with discussions of freak-offs, the rapper’s need for 1,000 bottles of baby oil and the definition of prostitution, but for Sean Combs’ defense team, safety was always a big issue. There’s allegedly a good reason for that, as a longtime friend is now speaking out about an incident where Diddy reportedly once woke up with a knife at his throat, which his lawyer had also mentioned in court.

Sean “P. Diddy” Combs was sentenced to 50 months in prison earlier this month after a jury found him guilty on two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution. As his team now looks at where he will spend the remaining three years of that sentence, Diddy’s friend Charlucci Finney — who has reportedly known the rapper for more than three decades — relayed a scary incident that allegedly almost cost the music mogul his life. Finney told the Daily Mail:

Diddy has spent most of his time since his arrest in September 2024 at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, New York, which has a reputation for being “disgusting,” and one of the “worst” detention centers in the country, with reports of bad food, rats, no sunlight, small cells and a lack of clean drinking water.

The rapper reportedly had a meltdown at one point for having to remain in the facility as he awaited trial, after being repeatedly denied bail. It allegedly took him a few hours of deep breathing and meditation to calm himself down, according to sources.

Charlucci Finney went on to say that he thinks the incident with his friend was a warning more than an attempt on his life, because:

Sean Combs’ longtime friend spoke to why he might be targeted, citing both his status as a celebrity and the nature of the crimes he was accused of.

This incident was apparently also brought up in court during P. Diddy’s trial. Defense attorney Brian Steel said an MDC inmate was trying to earn “prestige” by going at the rapper with a shiv, but that he was stopped by a guard.

The team is now trying to get Diddy moved to the low-security FCI Fort Dix in New Jersey, where their client could participate in a drug rehab program. This location would also apparently make visitation easier for his family.

We’ll have to see what the judge says about where Diddy will spend the rest of his sentence and if this reported attack will influence the decision.

Diddy’s Possible Prison Has A Bad Reputation

Diddy has spent the last year incarcerated at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn. The prison has been highlighted throughout Diddy’s time there as a less-than-ideal place to be, even as prisons go, and there’s a decent chance that the rapper and mogul may just stay there. Attorney Jeffrey Lichtman, who represtend Diddy’s son, recently reiterated the prison’s reputation to NewsNation saying…

It has been said before that MDC Brooklyn isn’t a great spot as prisons go, with the food being specifically noted as terrible. Diddy has already spent 13 months incarcerated, and reportedly had a "meltdown" at one point due to being locked up there. Lichtman specifically feels that spending the rest of his 50-month sentence there would be a punishment that might outstretch the crimes he was convicted of. He continued…

Ultimately, the judge in the case can recommend where Diddy serves out his sentence, but the Bureau of Prisons is who determines where it actually happens. It could have Diddy remain where he is, or put him in any other Federal prison.

Where Diddy’s lawyers Want Him To Spend His Sentence

To that end, Diddy’s lawyers have a place they would like to see Diddy go. While Diddy’s lawyers will almost certainly continue to appeal both the conviction and the sentence, whatever time Diddy remains in prison, they would like it to be a Fort Dix in New Jersey.

TMZ has a letter from Diddy's attorney, Terry Geragos, requesting that Diddy be sent to the low-security FCI Fort Dix. The letter reportedly claims that this facility would be the best place for Diddy to “address drug abuse issues” as well as maximize visitation, which it's argued will help with his overall rehabilitation.

While Diddy was sentenced to over four years, the 13 months he has already been incarcerated will be applied to the sentence, meaning it will be about three years before he gets out if he serves his full sentence. Where that happens will certainly be important, and we’ll have ot wait and see what happens.

After over a year of investigation that became public with the federal raids of Diddy’s homes, an eight-week trial, and lots of talk about baby oil and Freak-Offs, we now know how long Sean Combs will be in jail. The music mogul has been sentenced to 50 months — just over four years — in prison for his conviction on two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution.

In addition to serving “hard time” in prison, according to Judge Arun Subramanian, per CNN, Diddy was also hit with a $500,000 fine — the maximum he could receive on the charges. The sentencing came at the end of an hours-long hearing Friday, October 3, during which the judge heard from the defense, prosecution and from Diddy himself. The rapper used his time to issue an apology to his ex-girlfriend Cassie Ventura, TMZ reports, saying:

He reportedly called his actions "disgusting, shameful and sick." P. Diddy also addressed his family, telling his children they deserved better and telling his mother he had failed her as a son.

The four-year sentence fell in between what the prosecution and defense had asked for. Diddy’s team had requested a 14-month sentence — much of which he would have already served after being arrested in September 2024 — while the prosecution hoped for a steeper sentence of 11 years.

In issuing the maximum $500,000 fine, Judge Subramanian said he took into account Diddy’s “immense resources, which enabled his crimes.” He questioned the mogul’s remorse and said due to the seriousness of the crimes, a “substantial” sentence was required. The judge said Diddy “irreparably harmed two women,” who are still feeling the effects and said:

Earlier this week, a portion of a livestream from Ray J was segmented out and widely shared on social media. In it, the former rapper — who famously shared a sex tape with Kim Kardashian — claimed his ex’s family was going to be hit with RICO charges. Not surprisingly, the Kardashian-Jenner family has already fired back and denied the claims unequivocally.

Following a livestream that circulated on X, in which Ray J suggested he’s been involved in an alleged RICO case against Kris Jenner and Kim Kardashian that’s “worse than Diddy,” a lawyer for the family said “no credible evidence” exists to support the allegations. No federal investigation exists or has even been initiated against the family, according to the statement, which reads:

RICO refers to the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act. Sean “Diddy” Combs was charged with — but ultimately acquitted of — racketeering when he was arrested in September 2024. He’s scheduled to be sentenced October 3 after being found guilty on the lesser charges of transportation to engage in prostitution.

Ray J offered no details on the livestream about the alleged case he claimed is being built against the stars of The Kardashians (available to stream with a Hulu subscription), nor did he offer proof that a crime has been committed.

This isn’t the first time Ray J has brought up his ex-girlfriend’s name when speaking of wrongdoings. On the TMZ doc United States V. Sean Combs: Inside the Diddy Trial earlier this year, he said:

The allegations he made in his recent livestream echoed those claims, but he hasn’t produced any public evidence that would support the allegations.

Ray J and Kim Kardashian, of course, have a troubled past. Ray J has been at odds with Kim Kardashian and Kris Jenner since the sex tape’s release in 2007. Despite the fact that he and Kardashian reportedly continue to make money off of it, he has called the tape the worst thing that’s ever happened to him.

He maintains that the three of them released the tape together, and he wants his children to know “their dad doesn't go for exploiting women, disrespecting women and leaking footage of someone who didn't give permission.”

Kris Jenner herself addressed the rumor that she had a hand in “leaking” her daughter’s sex tape, taking a lie detector test on The Late Late Show with James Cordon, where it was determined that she was telling the truth when she denied helping Kim Kardashian release it.

It’s unclear what Ray J’s latest allegation may do to his already-troubled relationship with the family, but it seems likely this could end up in court. The trial of Sean “Diddy” Combs went almost as well as the singer and mogul could have hoped. While Diddy’s legal team is currently in the middle of appealing those convictions, the sentencing is still moving forward.

The sentencing of Diddy is currently scheduled for October 3, and both sides are in the process of submitting documentation regarding what sentence they think should be handed down. And surprisingly, while Diddy was convicted of transporting male escorts, his lawyers now think those escorts may help him at sentencing.

What We Knew About The Male Escorts In Diddy’s Freak-Offs

Based on some interviews that one male escort who worked with Diddy gave, as well as the testimony in court of a couple of them, we have some idea of what actually went on regarding Diddy’s Freak Off parties. Diddy’s then girlfriend Cassie Ventura testified that she was coerced into having sex with male prostitutes that had been brought in by Diddy for that purpose, with the men being paid for their services. One escort named Daniel Philip specifically mentioned having his driver’s license photographed by Diddy, a move he saw as threatening.

In the end, the transportation and payment of these men were the charges that Diddy was convicted of. However, there were actually many more male escorts who were apparently interviewed by the prosecution that the defense hopes will actually help Diddy and his sentencing.

How Diddy’s Lawyers Hope The Escorts Will Help Him Now

According to Business Insider, many of the interviews that male escorts gave to the prosecution before trial actually help the defense’s argument, and so the lawyers plan to submit briefs asking that information be admissible as part of the sentencing recommendations. While the prosecution considers the escorts to be “victims,” the defense is arguing that’s not the case.

It’s unclear exactly what these escorts may have said that the defense thinks is a benefit to Diddy, but if their interviews reveal that the men were willing participants, that may help convince the judge to go with a more lenient sentence. If they are not classified as “victims,” that may make Diddy’s convictions look less severe than they otherwise could.

Prosecutors are reportedly asking that Diddy be sentenced to a minimum of five years, while the defense is asking for no jail time, claiming that Diddy has reformed. The maximum sentence under the law is 10 years per count, which means Diddy could face up to 20 years in prison.

Diddy’s federal trial began in May, with a jury convicting him in July on two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution. They reportedly show that part of the legal argument is that the trial used a modern version of the word “prostitution,” and, since the Mann Act was originally passed in 1910, the court should use the definition of the term then, not now. At the time, prostitution referred to women having sex outside of marriage, and the people Diddy was convicted of transporting were men.

The Mann Act has been amended and modified multiple times since its original passage, but it’s certainly possible that a judge interpreting the law strictly might ultimately agree. Diddy’s lawyers are asking for the judge to overturn the convictions, or at the very least, for Diddy to get a new trial on those counts.

Diddy Claims He Was Engaged In Amateur Porn, Not Prostitution

The 1910 definition of prostitution isn’t the only thing Diddy’s lawyers are hanging the appeal on. The filing also argues that Diddy didn’t necessarily violate the modern definition of prostitution either. It claims he never had sex with the sex workers that were transported; instead, he was watching and occasionally recording the acts. Diddy's then-girlfriend, Cassie Ventura, testified that he only ever watched her have sex with others. It’s also stated that nobody was technically paid to have sex. Instead, they were paid for their time.

It’s also stated that Diddy never profited in any way from the sex. The recordings that he made were simply “amateur pornography” meant for his personal use, and thus did not qualify as prostitution. Diddy’s team is arguing that he is the first person to be convicted under the Mann Act for this particular set of circumstances. If that’s true, and depending on the exact wording of the law, the judge might find the law shouldn’t apply in this case.

Diddy is scheduled to be sentenced next month. We should therefore expect a ruling on the appeal before then, unless we see the sentencing pushed back. Additional appeals in the court system are expected if this one does not work, and there's always the possibility, however remote, of a Presidential pardon. How Prosecutors Are Opposing The Motion

MSNBC reports that the Department of Justice, which prosecuted the case, has now submitted its motion opposing the appeal. That motion points out that “multiple participants” testified during the trial, that they were not aware they were going to be filmed, and did not consent to being filmed, which the DOJ says pokes a hole in the amateur pornography argument.

Diddy's then-girlfriend, Cassie Ventura, testified during the trial that she had sex with male sex workers and that Diddy only watched these encounters and would sometimes film them. There are also reports that drugs were frequently part of these encounters. Prosecutors argue that this, as well as alleged threats of violence and intimidation, show that there was no consent.

Even if this particular appeal is unsuccessful, it’s still likely the convictions will be appealed up the judicial chain, so we have not heard the end of this. Diddy is currently scheduled to be sentenced in October, though if the judge has not yet ruled on this appeal by then, that date may certainly be pushed back.

Diddy could get significant jail time, but most experts seem to find that's unlikely. That said, Diddy has been repeatedly denied bail, both before the trial, and again following his conviction, and it's unlikely any amount of additional time would be considered acceptable.

Emilio Estefan Was Named In A Lawsuit Against Diddy

In April, a man named Manzaro Joseph filed a lawsuit against Diddy that also cited Emilio Estefan, the husband of singer Gloria Estefan. The suit claimed that during a party for Combs’ son in 2015, Joseph was sexually assaulted and transported to Diddy’s home via a tunnel between Diddy’s house and that of the Estefans, who lived next door at the time. According to US Weekly, the suit claims that Gloria Estefan attempted to intervene on behalf of the alleged victim. However, her husband Emilio is said to have kept her away.

The lawsuit also included other significant names, claiming that Jay-Z and Beyoncé were also present during the incident. Their names were removed from the suit in April after it was proved they were not in Miami at the time of the alleged assault. It’s not the only lawsuit against Diddy that also included Jay-Z to be dismissed.

Estefan claimed he was also not in Miami at the time, and that using any such alleged underground tunnel would be impossible due to the high water table on Star Island. The Esfefans no longer own the home in question, having sold it to Diddy himself in 2021.

Estefan Is Now Threatening A Lawsuit Against Diddy Accuser

Allegations made against Emilio Estefan were dismissed in July. However, Manzaro has been given time to amend his lawsuit, so it’s unclear if he's shifting gears away from taking legal action. Regardless, Estefan told TMZ he is still considering legal action of his own over damage done to his reputation in relation to the suit.

It does not appear Estefan has taken any steps toward filing an official complaint yet. He simply indicates plans to do so.

The main lawsuit against Diddy does appear to be proceeding. It’s one of dozens of lawsuits that the rapper will be contending with in the months and likely years to come. Diddy recently appealed his conviction on two counts of violating the Mann Act. He remains incarcerated while waiting for sentencing. Even if he’s ultimately successful and avoids additional jail time, he and his legal team will certainly be spending a lot of time dealing with these numerous lawsuits.

With the Diddy trial’s mixed verdict handed down, the next step for the seemingly disgraced music icon comes down to sentencing. As his lawyers explore every possible option that they feel best benefits their client’s well-being, justice also needs to be served according to said verdict.

Per reporting by Deadline, the request to have Diddy (who’s also being sued, along with his son Christian, on allegations of assault on Combs’ yacht) released on a $50 million bail was denied by Judge Arun Subramanian. This decision was handed down, despite Team Diddy providing a letter from ex-girlfriend Virginia Huynh that claimed he met the metrics to prove himself not to be a flight risk before his October 3rd sentencing. Judge Subramanian explained his rejection of this request, in part through the following remarks:

The crux of the “All About The Benjamins” rapper’s plea is one that ties into the very reason he’s seeking to be released on bail. Tying into the supposedly “horrible things” Diddy has faced in prison, the supposed improvement of Bad Boy Records’ founding father has come from treatment through therapy, that all involved are looking to continue. Which leads to another condition that Combs’ representation may be seeking in the lead up to his sentencing.

According To Diddy’s Lead Lawyer, Home Confinement Could Be An Option

Lawyer Marc Agnifilo, who has been leading Diddy’s legal representation through this matter, spoke with TMZ about the matter at hand a little more in depth. Talking about how Diddy has therapists “lined up…from the outside,” Agnifilo cited the Metropolitan Detention Center he’s being held in as deficient in that line of care, as follows:

In conducting this conversation, TMZ founder and producer Harvey Levin also asked Marc Agnifilo if seeking home confinement would be the “best way to get real professional help.” Taking that ask into consideration, as well as the supposed 1-3 year sentence that may see Diddy in confinement, Agnifilo provided this response:

Despite all of the stories involving Mr. Combs' "swinging" lifestyle, and the results of the recent trial, some think Diddy could still have a career. Others even think that a potential pardon from President Trump could be an option as well.

Regardless of the court's decision, if that hypothetical comeback has any chance of happening, its best chance is likely through a campaign of self-improvement and making amends. We’ll see how things move forward in the meantime, as Sean Combs’ sentencing is scheduled to take place on October 3rd.

The issue at hand is a century-old law called the Mann Act. Both of Diddy’s convictions for transporting people across state lines for the purposes of sex are related to the law that's been in effect since 1910. But his lawyers say, according to TMZ, the law shouldn’t have been applied in this case, as Diddy hasn’t actually violated it.

What is The Mann Act?

First enacted in 1910, the Mann Act was first put in place as a way to prevent the forced prostitution of women in an era when various states had areas of legal prostitution. It was feared that women could be kidnapped from areas where prostitution was illegal and be transported to areas where it was legal to work against their will.

Over the decades, the law has been amended multiple times to focus its intent and to clear up vague language. It has been utilized in numerous notable cases over the years. Most recently, the Mann Act was at the center of the legal cases against R. Kelly as well as the conviction of Ghislaine Maxwell.

Why Diddy’s Lawyers Say The Mann Act Doesn’t Apply

The Mann Act deals with the transportation of people for the purposes of prostitution. However, the new filing from Diddy’s legal team says it shouldn’t have been applied in his case because he technically didn’t do any of the things required to be convicted under the Mann Act.

As had been discussed at length during the trial, Diddy reportedly only watched the prostitutes who were hired have sex with other people. He never engaged in sex with them himself. There is apparently a legal precedent that voyeurism is not considered prostitution.

What’s more, it’s claimed that Diddy did not make any money from the prostitution, and he also never arranged for the transportation of the people himself, with the women who were involved, like Cassie Ventura, being the ones who handled the logistics of transportation.

Since Diddy didn't have sex with the prostitutes, didn't profit from the prostitution, and didn't arrange transportation, it's being argued that he didn't actually violate the Mann Act. Finally, it’s also argued that the “freak-off” events that were recounted during the trial constitute “amateur pornography,” and thus should receive First Amendment protections.

Depending on how the language of the Mann Act is written, it’s certainly possible that one might be able to interpret it this way. If so, the judge might decide to overturn the convictions. Barring that, a new trial would only be on the two counts that Diddy was convicted of, and thus some of the most sensational evidence of the original trial, such as the video of Diddy beating Cassie Ventura, likely wouldn’t be admissible.

How long it may take the judge to rule on this is unclear. Diddy remains in jail awaiting sentencing, which is currently scheduled for October.

As somebody who also appreciates really good boba tea, I can get behind that sentiment. For somebody who hopes to find inner peace, testifying in a federal racketeering trial seems pretty antithetical to that goal. The trial saw several people who testified get very emotional, and the allegations got quite serious at times. Peaceful was certainly not a word to describe it.

O’Day said that she wasn’t “meant to speak’ at the trial, indicating that she simply had no information she could provide about the “specific crimes” being adjudicated. Diddy was found not guilty of racketeering and sex trafficking but convicted of two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution.

While there was considerable speculation before the trial about which celebrities might be drawn into the proceedings, few were directly involved. Rapper Kid Cudi was the biggest name who testified regarding an incident where his car was set on fire, an attack he believes Diddy was responsible for. Most celebrities whose names were dropped, like Brad Pitt, were simply attached to incidents described at trial by their proximity but were not directly involved.

Diddy remains in jail awaiting sentencing. While he could be sentenced to as much as 20 years, legal experts expect the sentence to be much lighter. Sentencing is set to take place in October. If his sentencing includes the time he has already spent in jail (he was denied bail following his arrest) his remaining jail time might not be very long. In the first alleged encounter between the two, Diddy is accused of attempting to force John Doe to perform oral sex on him in a recording studio. Two years later, during a Jay-Z listening party, Doe claims Diddy drugged him and sexually assaulted him while he was unconscious.

The strangest of the allegations, however, describes an alleged 2020 incident in which Diddy and John Doe were working with others on a posthumous project for the Notorious B.I.G. Diddy took a group, including Doe, to a warehouse that held many of Biggie’s personal effects. At some point, Diddy and John Doe ended up alone, at which point Doe claims Diddy began looking at porn on his phone and proceeded to masturbate into one of Biggie’s shirts, which he threw on John Doe after he was done.

Diddy’s Legal Team Responded To The Latest Lawsuit

Needless to say, as with every lawsuit that has been filed against Diddy in the last several months, the rapper has denied the accusations and claims all the allegations in it are false. The recent verdict is used as evidence that other accusations against Diddy are false. In a statement to Us Weekly, Combs legal team said…

Dozens of lawsuits were filed against Combs after his arrest, and if anything, this new lawsuit shows that his acquittal may not stem the tide. While Combs isn’t expected to see jail time for the charges he was convicted of, it seems much of the rapper’s time will still be taken up with legal problems as he works his way through various lawsuits.

Following weeks of trial and months of speculation, Sean “Diddy” Combs has been acquitted of the most serious charges against him. While significant prison time on the charges he was found guilty of is still technically possible, few if any experts seem to believe that’s likely. Which raises the question: what is Diddy going to do next?

The source seems to believe it’s a matter of when, not if, such a collaboration could come. And it could result in anything from a single song to an entire album. This rumor certainly seems possible. Diddy and West have associated in the past, and Combs' son worked on Kanye’s most recent album.

However, the ultimate reason that Diddy and Kanye may end up working together right now is the simple fact that there may not be anybody else willing to associate with Diddy. While lots of celebrities were known to attend Diddy’s parties, most of them have kept their distance since charges were filed, and while the rapper was acquitted of the most serious crimes, it’s unclear how quickly others will be willing to be seen as close to him again. Kanye, of course, has his own issues stemming from anti-semitic rants to ongoing questions about his relationship with his wife. The source continued…

Jourdan Atkinson was on the prosecution’s witness list but was not called to testify against her former employer, per People. She reported that she was both a victim of alleged physical abuse by P. As the rapper awaits sentencing on the charges of transportation to engage in prostitution, Atkinson wrote a letter to Judge Arun Subramania, which she posted to Instagram. It read, in part:

During this event, he allegedly grabbed her and held her off a balcony. She claimed she does not know why Diddy did this.

Defense attorneys attacked the timeline of events, claiming that Diddy and Cassie were both in New York at the time of the alleged incident. Bongolan later admitted she may have had the date of the incident wrong.

These claims are just the latest accusations against Diddy. The famous video of Diddy allegedly assaulting his ex-girlfriend Cassie Ventura has been introduced as evidence. The judge had apparently already given instructions to the defense about this, and had informed them to not attempt to engage the jury directly, so Subramanian made it clear this could not happen again. If it did, the Judge said he would consider removing Combs from the courtroom.

The judge will crack down on anything that could potentially influence the jury. In fact, Diddy’s looks could be interpreted as attempted intimidation. Diddy was already denied bail due to fear of witness intimidation. If there’s a feeling that it will continue, a judge may take the extreme measure of removing the defendant.

How Brad Pitt’s Name Came Up At Diddy’s Trial

Brad Pitt came up during testimony this week by a former assistant to Diddy, who testified (via People) under the pseudonym “Mia.” Mia was with Diddy and his then-girlfriend Cassie Ventura when they attended the 2012 Cannes Film Festival premiere of Brad Pitt’s movie Killing Them Softly.

Mia testified that Combs and Ventura were speaking in the theater when the rapper became agitated and began “digging his nails into her arms.” Diddy then allegedly told Ventura to leave, which she did, despite the fact that, in Mia’s words, “no one ever leaves in the middle of a premiere event.”

Interestingly, People reported at the time that Combs was in attendance at a party that Pitt threw following the premiere. So while Pitt never attended one of Diddy’s parties, the reverse is actually true.

The party was so long ago that Brad Pitt had only just become engaged to Angelina Jolie. At the time, it was reported that Combs had shared a drink with Pitt to congratulate him on this big moment.

The latest person to testify is Bryana “Bana” Bongolan, a fashion designer and former friend of Diddy’s ex-girlfriend, Cassie Ventura. On Wednesday, 33-year-old Bongolan dropped several accusations against the “I’ll Be Missing You” performer. Among them were the claims that he assaulted her and dangled her from a 17th floor balcony.

The situation in question allegedly occurred after Bryana Bongolan and her former girlfriend spent the night at Cassie Ventura’s apartment. Per Variety, it was common for Bongolan to sleep over at Ventura’s abode to work on fashion projects and do drugs. One morning, however, someone banged on Ventura’s door in a ”very loud" fashion, waking both Bongolan and her girlfriend. Bongolan had her partner hide in the bathroom, before an “upset” Diddy purportedly charged in.

Bana Bongolan further alleged that P. Diddy – whose real name is Sean Combs – “came up from behind” and “lifted [her] up and put [her] on top of the rail” of the balcony. As Combs did so, he allegedly kept yelling, “You know what the fuck you did.” Bongolan also shared the following comments:

During her testimony, Bryana Bongolan also recalled that after dangling from the balcony for 10 to 15 seconds, Diddy threw her onto the balcony furniture. As a result, she reportedly sustained injuries, including a red and purple bruise on her leg, and she apparently required a neck brace and a bandage on her back. As for Diddy’s claims, Bongolan said she’s still not sure what he was talking about. Cassie Ventura, known mononymously as Cassie, was apparently also present at the time and expressed shock over what transpired between her friend and boyfriend.

Cassie’s friend also recalled another situation, at which point the two of them, along with Sean Combs, were taking in a beach day in Malibu. The fashion designer claims that at that time, the hip hop mogul “came up really close to [her] face,” before declaring, “I’m the devil, and I could kill you.” Bongolan believes Combs may have been on drugs at the time.

This testimony comes weeks after Cassie shared her own account of her experiences with Diddy. She shared explicit details about being forced to perform sexual acts with 10 men while she was with the “Tell Me” rapper. One of those escorts, Shawn Dearing, spoke out this week and lent “credence” to the information that Cassie shared. Arson investigator Lance Jimenez testified during Diddy’s trial yesterday, and he was able to explain that the Molotov cocktail that was used to destroy Kid Cudi’s Porsche in 2012 could have been much worse had it not been for the handkerchief that was used as a fuse.

The particular Molotov cocktail that was used on Kid Cudi’s car consisted of gasoline inside a 40-ounce Olde English malt liquor bottle. However, instead of a traditional cloth, what Jimenez (via Us Weekly) called a “designer-type” handkerchief made of a “silky type material” was used. As a result, the handkerchief fell from the bottle, preventing the explosion of the gasoline.

Had the Molotov cocktail exploded as intended, Jimenez believes the fire could have spread, igniting the vegetation around Kid Cudi’s house. This, in turn, could have set the structure on fire.

Cudi believes the attack was orchestrated by Diddy due to the fact that he was dating Diddy’s ex, Cassie Ventura, at the time of the attack. Sean Combs' relationship with his ex has been at the center of the case as a video of him attacking Ventura is credited with launching the investigation, and she has been a key witness in the trial.

Diddy denied involvement when Cudi confronted him, but the rapper does not believe him.

Ye isn’t the only rapper to chastise Kid for testifying during the trial. Another notable rapper, Young Thug, responded on social media as well. On Thursday, Thugger posted a since-deleted message to X (which was captured by TMZ). In it, the “Hot” rapper said, “Dam cudi a rat lol”.

Cassie Ventura also testified during the trial and shared details about her time with Diddy. While on the stand, she described sex-related incidents involving her ex-boyfriend in graphic detail and admitted to going along with his desires so as not to upset him. This all comes about a year and a half after Ventura filed suit against Diddy for alleged violence and sex-trafficking. While he denied wrongdoing, he and his team settled the $20 million suit in less than 24 hours.

Daniel Phillip also testified that he was paid on more than one occasion to have sex with Ventura while Diddy watched. In trying to paint her client as a swinger, not a criminal, the lawyer had this exchange with Cassie Ventura:

• Anna Estavao: Did you understand ‘Freak-Offs’ were consistent with Mr. Combs’ description of the swingers lifestyle?
• Cassie Ventura: Related in a sexual way … they’re very different.

This discussion about freak-offs and Sean Combs and Cassie Ventura’s bedroom activities came during what sounds like an intense day of cross-examination for Ventura. Daniel Phillip testified in court yesterday (via Us Weekly) to reveal that Diddy paid him, sometimes as little as $700 and sometimes as much as $6,000, to have sex with Cassie Ventura, his then girlfriend. Diddy would allegedly watch these encounters while pleasuring himself.

One of the most talked-about elements of the case surrounding Diddy involves a reportedly massive amount of baby oil that was found in Diddy’s home when authorities raided it. Phillip did testify that baby oil was used by the pair of them when having sex, and that Diddy allegedly told Phillip to use more on multiple occasions.

Another topic at issue is that Diddy reportedly recorded some of these sexual encounters. Phillip testified that he was recorded “once or twice” out of the numerous times he was paid to perform. Phillip also claimed that Diddy once took a picture of his Driver’s License, a move which Phillip saw as a direct threat against him.

Daniel Phillip's testimony followed a first day of testimony from somebody who allegedly engaged in one of Diddy's "freak off" parties. Cassie Ventura was also an alleged participant, according to that testimony, but it sounds like we'll be hearing from her very soon.

TMZ spoke with Ventura's lawyer, who said she is ready to testify "in short order." Us Weekly says that testimony is expected later today. Ventura is being called a “star witness” because, due to her closeness with Diddy, it’s believed she knows a great deal about the inner workings of his organization. That potentially includes the various crimes he allegedly engaged in.

It was the viral video of Diddy assaulting Cassie that allegedly set off the investigation into Diddy that brought us to this point. Her testimony is seen as key to the prosecution making its case against the rapper and mogul.

While there are a lot of eyes on this trial already, we can be sure that everybody will be paying a great deal of attention to what Cassie has to say when she testifies. What exactly Cassie reveals, and how she holds up under cross-examination, could have a significant impact on how this case resolves.
