Shifting Gears' return to the 2025 TV schedule won't just be your average sitcom season finale, as fans will get to see a three-pronged Home Improvement reunion for Tim Allen. (I wonder if Matt was watching in the ‘90s.) One-third of the premiere’s guest stars is Debbe Dunning, whose Heidi was the helpful female voice on "Tool Time" for the bulk of the hit sitcom’s run after Pamela Anderson’s exit. The actress reflected on the not-quite-fun fact that she suffered some anxiety in a later season over Anderson’s potential return.

As many fans of Tim Allen's first sitcom remember, Anderson did indeed return for a fun reunion episode in Season 6, which will come up a little lower. But as Dunning put it when talking to EW, there was a point earlier where learning about Allen's interest in bringing the Baywatch superstar back into the fold had quite a disruptive effect. The actress said her co-star was talking on-set about having met up with Anderson in Las Vegas over the weekend, at which point she entered the convo. As she put it:

In a perfect world, welcoming an international star back onto a network series would be seen as a grand gesture by all involved. Yep, that combination of post-childbirth hormones and the stress of raising an infant can heighten the most minutely negative weather update into a Greek tragedy. So for Dunning to hear something so legitimately game-changing, something that would affect her job, she understandably fretted pretty heavily over it in the immediate short term.

Her stress levels were translated pretty clearly via her actions, which set off the stage manager's alarm bells. The woman warded off Dunning's worries by saying they wouldn't actually being teaming the two female "Tool Time" characters together, and in the midst of the conversation, Dunning had cried enough to warrant a trip back into makeup so that filming could recommence.

Before the actress could continue working herself up into too much of a downward spiral over the issue, a producer reached out to Dunning and gave an additional guarantee that Allen's comments were off-the-cuff and didn't reflect the reality of the future. At least not entirely, as the producer had a request.

I guess it worked for the sitcom's advantage, but getting Debbe Dunning to agree to fictionalizing her genuine angst for the sake of comedy doesn't seem like the best move, at least not during a conversation where that angst is still dissipating.

Home Improvement's Season 6 finale, "The Kiss and the Kiss Off," featured Pamela Anderson's Lisa getting an open invitation back onto "Tool Time," which causes new-mom Heidi to quit the show. Tim eventually convinces her to return, so all was well going into Season 7, but wow, if there's ever a behind-the-scenes story that can change one's lens for a TV episode, this was it.

To be sure, Dunning treasures her time co-starring on one of the best sitcoms of all time, and her life wouldn't be the same without it. Neither would fans', and I think many of those Home Improvement fanatics will be tuning into Shifting Gears' Season 2 premiere when it airs on Tuesday, October 1. (Or will at least be streaming it the next day via Hulu subscription.)

In recent years, the world has come to appreciate Ms. Anderson all over again. Fully dropping her label as a Baywatch sex symbol, the Canadian-American actor peeled back the veil of her life and times in 2023 - through both a memoir and the eye-opening Netflix documentary Pamela, a Love Story.

However, Pamela Anderson has always had sharp comedic timing, and she’s shown that to the world for at least 20 years. One could say that the first clue that should have tipped us off was her appearance in the cold open for 2003’s Scary Movie 3 - which you can watch below:

By the time Anderson’s story about her Borat cameo made the rounds, there was no way around the conclusion that the VIP star knew how to walk the fine line of parody. People are finally starting to recognize what I highlighted in our Naked Gun review as a talent that Hollywood wasn’t giving her a chance to fully indulge in.

With that particular door opened, I need to also recognize a couple of projects Pamela Anderson had landed over the past year. Through these other highlights, the case for her career renaissance blossoms into something open for further diversity in opportunities.

If we really want to talk about where the buzz around Ms. Pamela started, we should be looking back at 2024’s The Last Showgirl. That moment, arriving right after she beautifully proclaims her love for that picture, only further proves to me that a Pamela Anderson-led remake of Summertime needs to happen. As The Naked Gun’s campaign to “save comedy” continues to attract audiences into theaters, I hope that the world helps champion Ms. Anderson’s dream project and any other opportunity she wants to branch out with.

In an age where “sex symbols” of yesteryear have become better appreciated for their performing talents, that wish coming true would truly be another milestone in “The Pamaissance.” (It’s not the catchiest name, but I’m working with the folks in R&D to come up with something better. “The McConaissance” didn’t happen overnight?)

When Pamela Anderson was on Andy Cohen’s SiriusXM show with The Naked Gun cast promoting the comedy, the host asked what she was making when she joined the series in 1992. Here’s what she said:

That’s not a lot, especially considering that Baywatch was once one of the most watched shows in the world, with an estimated weekly audience of more than 1.1 billion in 142 countries in 1996, per Guinness World Records. Cohen followed up his question by asking when her first renegotiation took place. In her words:

In the docuseries After Baywatch: Moment In The Sun, it was revealed (via The New York Post) that most actors on the show weren’t happy with their paycheck, with Nicole Eggert sharing they offered everyone “like $3,500 a show”. As the actress pointed out, it was a big difference to Friends where they were making “$1 million an episode”. The cast also claimed that “everyone was disposable” on Baywatch, and if you didn’t “fit into their brand” and the “price they were paying you, you were gone.”

How Did It Compare To David Hasselhoff?

After seeing this interview, I also learned that Pamela Anderson actually spent most of her life in debt. In her viral Netflix documentary, Pamela, A Love Story, it was revealed that she spent most of her life dealing with financial woes, even though at one time, she was one of the most famous women in the world. During the same Cohen interview, the host asked her if she thought she made the same as co-star David Hasselhoff. Here’s her response:

I'd like to think that if Baywatch premiered today things would be different, but it is what it is for Pamela Anderson. Properly capturing the Zucker, Abrahams and Zucker energy, however, is an exercise in specificity – in dialogue, physicality and timing – and it's great to see how that approach was honored.

Everything about the sequence in the new 2025 movie is hysterical, from the befuddled expressions of the jazz band as Pamela Anderson's Beth Davenport tells them what song she wants to sing, to Beth's odd sound-making, to the ridiculously enraptured look on the face of Danny Huston's Richard Cane (whom she is trying to distract while Liam Neeson's Frank Drebben Jr. does some snooping). Perhaps the only thing that could have made it better would have been Anderson making use of her actual skills playing the alto saxophone – but she told Jeff that she was too intimidated to bring up her talent on set:

The look of Momoa in an ancient Hawaiian loincloth (also called a malo) may not have been on my Bingo card this week, but I’m not complaining. Yes, one of the fascinating things to know about Jason Momoa was that his start came from Baywatch: Hawaii! I was definitely far from the only Naked Gun fan excited when Pamela Anderson was cast in the upcoming 2025 movie, and the trailer seen below justifies that anticipation with a pair of moments that speak loudly to her serving as a solid follow-up as a female lead after Priscilla Presley’s stellar work in the original trilogy.

While there are definitely plenty of moments to shine a spotlight on throughout the full video, here are some of my own favorite gags that had me giggling.

1. Beth "Taking A Chair"

I am one of the world's biggest suckers for groan-worthy puns, and it doesn't get much cornier than this moment.

• Frank: Please, take a chair.
• Beth: Thank you. [Loudly drags chair out of room and down the hall]

It's right up there with a doctor saying, "Walk this way," and replying, "If I could walk that way, I wouldn't be here." I'll always laugh at that kind of joke way quicker than I will at Frank fretting over having to use the bathroom while wearing a body-cam.

2. Beth "Cleaning Frank's Oven"

A hallmark of the Naked Gun movies, ribald sexual gags are plentiful throughout the original trilogy, and Akiva Schaeffer's reboot made sure to remind fans of that fact with the trailer, as abedded by the use of heat vision. The reveal that Anderson's Beth is just cleaning a kitchen appliance, and isn't orally servicing Frank, is almost as groan-worthy as the above chair gag. But like, in the best way possible.

3. Cody Rhodes' Face Gets Rearranged

In much the same way that wordplay never fails to crack me up, I'm also forever entertained by a split-second sight gag like Cody Rhodes' dialogue-free appearance in the trailer. He looks perfect normal when Frank grabs his face, but after it's slammed down against the bar, suddenly his nose is all smashed, with his eyebrows also being flattened and bushier.

It's dumb, low-stakes humor, but it's 100% what I seek out in a movie like this. I also just happen to like wonky facial prosthetics.

4. Spirit Halloween Snatching Up Space

Let's also share the love for co-star Paul Walter Hauser, even if he wasn't the most intrinsically amusing thing about the shot above indicating that a Spirit Halloween store immediately opened up in the newly vacated Police Squad building.

It's perhaps the most "topical" joke in the trailer, other than the previously revealed gag tied to O.J. Simpson and the actor playing Fred Nordberg's son. I wonder if they have any O.J. costumes in the spooky holiday retailer.

The Naked Gun hits theaters on August 1, 2025. Just don't expect to find yourself seated next to franchise co-creator David Zucker, who publicly denounced the new movie and revealed he turned down a producer credit.

The end of May is a bit of a different animal on streaming platforms. It seems like every week in recent memory, we’ve seen the beginning of some sort of high-profile dramatic series on one streaming platform or another. And while some of those shows are still ongoing, most notably Peacock’s Poker Face, there’s a bit less “new” in that regard this week.

That’s not to say there isn’t some absolutely great stuff you won’t want to miss. It’s just a fairly eclectic list, and while it’s unlikely you’ll be interested in everything debuting this week, there’s almost certain to be at least one thing to check out.

Travel shows aren’t everybody’s cup of tea, but rarely have we seen one that’s hosted by somebody as engaging as the great Stanley Tucci, whose culinary expertise is also put to great use in Tucci in Italy. Available with a Disney+ subscription, the NatGeo documentary series, a follow-up to his previous Searching For Italy series, sees the actor explore the nation via its food. Get ready to be very hungry.

Untold: The Fall Of Favre - May 20 (Netflix)

Brett Favre was once one of the biggest stars in the world of professional football, but as the title suggests, The Fall of Brett Favre will be looking at a different side of the athlete, including alleged off-the-field misdeeds, including a reported mishandling of government money for his own benefit.

Nine Perfect Strangers, Season 2 - May 21 (Hulu)

The first season of Nine Perfect Strangers only got middle-of-the-road reviews, but it clearly did something right as it's back for a second season. A new star-studded cast and a new location form around Nicole Kidman as a guru with some unorthodox methods to help people heal.

Fountain of Youth - May 23 (Apple TV+)

Late May is prime summer movie season, and while that usually means having to go to a theater, one new film that seems just perfect for this time of year will only be available with an Apple TV+ subscription. Fountain of Youth stars John Krasinski and Natalie Portman as siblings searching for the fabled source of eternal youth. Guy Ritchie directed what feels like the closest thing to National Treasure 3 we’re likely to get.

Fear Street: Prom Queen - May 23 (Netflix)

It’s a good idea in general for horror fans to have a Netflix subscription, and that’s especially the case this week. In 2021, R.L. Stine’s Fear Street books were turned into three of the best horror movies on Netflix. Now, get ready for the fourth installment, Prom Queen.

Pee-wee As Himself - May 23 (Max)

A generation grew up with Paul Reubens as Pee-wee Herman, but the actor and comedian’s untimely death robbed fans of years of fun. A new two-part documentary series, Pee-wee as Himself, available with a Max subscription, will take fans inside the head of Pee-Wee Herman, quite literally, as it will include significant interviews with Reubens made before he passed away.

The Last Showgirl - May 23 (Hulu)

Pamela Anderson was one of the hottest stars of the 1990s, but she came roaring back to the screens last year in The Last Showgirl. Anderson won numerous awards for her portrayal of an aging showgirl, showing just what a great actress she’s always been. You can now check out her performance with a Hulu subscription.

In the end, it’s like Miley Cyrus is reassuring the showgirl that she must have known her show would eventually end and another girl would be the next star. However, we need to remember to “spin baby spin.” As The Last Showgirl is about an aging Vegas showgirl facing an uncertain future when her revue closes, Cyrus’ song fits in perfectly with the Gia Coppola film’s strong themes.

Miley Cyrus truly has a gift for performing music for movies that mirrors the emotions of the characters. “When I Look At You” from the teen romance film The Last Song had the pop star sing about how the presence of someone special brings comfort in dark times. In the LGBTQIA+ drama film Freeheld, her song "Hands of Love" was about the power of love. And you can’t forget about “The Climb” from Hannah Montana: The Movie about the young pop singer's journey.

If you thought you were feeling all kinds of emotions listening to “Beautiful That Way,” Pamela Anderson was right there with you. The former Playboy Playmate of the Month expressed how she felt hearing Miley Cyrus’ beautiful song and one surprising fun fact about her first listen:

Unfortunately, though, the model and actress had quite a turbulent rise to fame, culminating in a life-changing robbery. She then had to relieve the dark spot, in a way, with 2022's Pam & Tommy, which was available to Hulu subscription holders. Now, the Barb Wire star is sharing how "hurtful" the show's release while relishing in the success of her latest film -- Gia Coppola's The Last Showgirl.

The 57-year-old actress appeared on Sirius XM's Radio Andy's "Andy Cohen Live" to talk about the Las Vegas-centric movie, amongst other facets of her career. When the Baywatch alum was asked about what she knew or if she had been involved in the creation of Hulu's Emmy-nominated drama series, she had this to say on the matter:

When the show was released a few years ago, it received much attention. The miniseries chronicled the release of Pamela Anderson and Tommy Lee's sex tape, with Lily James and Sebastian Stan playing the lead roles. Around the time the show premiered, the Scary Movie 3 actress shared how upsetting she found Pam & Tommy to be.

During this recent interview, Andy Cohen eventually asked if the the show was allowed to chronicle those real-life events without consent from her. The Borat actress then revealed her feelings on the matter, including what people told her in regard to her life:

The Scooby-Doo alum also claimed that the streamer hasn’t made any gestures to make amends. Despite that, Pamela Anderson doesn't seem to be dwelling on the past too much, even if people involved with the show won awards. After gathering herself, she said that she’s pleased with where she is now, calling that success "the best payback." She also added the following thoughts:

Pamela Anderson has certainly been receiving her flowers for her work in The Last Showgirl. She also received support from those who worked on the movie with her. An example of that would be her anxiety-melting meeting with co-star Jamie Lee Curtis, who joined the film for her sake. Aside from receiving critical acclaim, Anderson has also been showered with award nominations and wins.

It’s been great to see the Showgirls alum take her career into her own hands by declining the Baywatch reboot but joining the new Naked Gun flick. That aside, the actress's work remains revered by fellow celebrities, with even Beyoncé dressing up as her BW character for Halloween.

While it's honestly unfortunate that Pamela Anderson has had to go through so much, I'm pleased to see the success she's having. At this point, she's in a position to thrive and carve out a new chapter years after the drama depicted on the limited series.

The 2025 movie schedule is a big one. The year kicks off with The Last Showgirl, starring Pamela Anderson and Jamie Lee Curtis. Surprisingly though, the incredible model and actress revealed she was intimidated to meet the OG Scream Queen of our time. That is, until Curtis said one thing to Anderson that made all her concerns melt away.

It’s no lie, Jamie Lee Curtis has a lot to show for herself even beyond her best movies. The Everything Everywhere All at Once actress had already praised Anderson for her minimalist fashion week look before they started the Gia Coppola film together, which is not something to blink an eye at. The 54-year-old shared with W Magazine that when the two were meeting on set for the first time, Curtis’ five words alleviated all of her prior anxieties about meeting the Halloween legend. She said:

Both women are absolute icons, so to have those words come out of you earnestly for another person and to receive that message is absolutely stunning. Knowing that this was their initial meeting and that was the vibe from the get-go makes me all the more excited to see The Last Showgirl. It’s special to learn about the exchange between such powerful women and a great example for females everywhere. Anderson has been endlessly fearless in navigating her career while Curtis has continued to be a guiding and supportive pillar in hers.

Another commonality the two stars share is that they both have respective reboots or sequels they’ve just completed or are working on. As most millennials and fans of Freaky Friday know, Freakier Friday wrapped this past year and Curtis celebrated the wrap with an all-natural selfie a la her Showgirl costar. Meanwhile, Anderson has multiple reboots knocking at her door, including Baywatch, which she isn’t interested in (or the doc series, which she appeared in somehow), but she did take on The Naked Gun.

Although The Last Showgirl is officially premiering this week, it is eligible for the 2025 awards season due to its brief Los Angeles showings. Anderson herself was up for a Golden Globe, along with the song, ‘Beautiful That Way.’ I hope to see many more nominations for the cast and crew, because the movie does look that special.

As for Anderson and her fears? All seem to have been washed away with those five words from Curtis, and rightfully so. Hopefully the duo can continue to build a relationship and work the award season to bring home an Oscar for this seeming gem of a movie. The Last Showgirl premieres in theaters on January 10th.

Those of us who keep up with celebrity fashion and social media are likely to remember this fall season for its several genius Hollywood Halloween costumes honoring the ‘90s and early aughts. While Justin and Hailey Bieber went for nostalgia with a family Kim Possible throwback, others went the purely iconic route. After Kylie Jenner channeled Demi Moore’s Striptease poster and Emily Ratajkowski wore JLo’s low-cut green dress, Beyoncé put her own twist on Pamela Anderson’s Baywatch look from the ‘90s — and of course she changed the spelling.

In what can only be described as a boss move, Queen Bey was fashionably late for Halloween, posting several images and a music video to Instagram on November 5 that showed off a few of Pamela Anderson’s looks from a decade past. But there are few items of clothing more associated with the actress in that era than the red swimsuit from Baywatch, and Beyoncé made it her own in the best way:

That’s right, a simple vowel swap turned the sexy soap opera into Beywatch, and she definitely has the hive’s full attention. One would be honored to have the opportunity for this lifeguard to save them from drowning. Beyoncé’s other photos pay homage to Pam Anderson’s Barb Wire character in a sultry black dress, long black mesh gloves and knee-high boots. We also need to talk about the blonde hair and the way the former Destiny's Child singer nailed Anderson's makeup, complete with lavendar eyeshadow.

A third costume playfully riffs on the former Playboy Playmate’s wardrobe at the 1999 MTV Video Music Awards, which she attended with ex-husband Tommy Lee. The “Texas Hold ‘Em” singer changed the backdrop to the “BTV 9999 No Visual Awards,” which appears to be a nod to her fans, who have been clamoring for music videos and visual media to accompany her Cowboy Carter and Renaissance albums.

Well, ask and you shall (eventually) receive, I guess, because along with the iconic “Beylloween” images, Beyoncé posted a music video for “Bodyguard” that features her Pam Anderson costumes.

It seems pretty obvious that Bey intentionally withheld her Halloween hijinks for November 5, as the “Bodyguard” video implores her fans to vote, but even without that added inspiration, any Beyoncé visuals are better late than never.

Beyoncé will always be the queen, but she had some stiff competition for best costume this year. Halle and Chloe Bailey went full Mystery Inc. as Daphne and Velma from Scooby-Doo, while Jenner sisters Kylie and Kendall were in good company with Sabrina Carpenter in their outfits from The Lizzie McGuire Movie. Janelle Monáe, meanwhile, threw it back even further, going over the top with her E.T. ensemble as only she could do.

We’ll have to see if Beyoncé’s “Bodyguard” video drop and “No Visual” shoutout is an indication that she’s got more in store for the Bey Hive. The artist told GQ in September that she had refrained from putting out music videos because “a visual can be a distraction from the quality of the voice and the music.” Either way, we’re keeping an eye on this icon.

Though she was only part of the main cast for the exact middle of its monumental run, and not the beginning or end, Pamela Anderson and Baywatch will forever be inexplicably tied together. It’s not necessarily something the globally renowned celeb is overjoyed with at this post-debt point in her career, but she’s always good to bring out the red swimsuit when it suits her best, as it were. But she made her disinterest very clear when it came to Hulu’s recent docuseries After Baywatch.

Anderson is set to take over the 2025 movie schedule with not just one, but two big-screen starring roles: one in the long-gestating Naked Gun reboot with Liam Neeson, and one in Gia Coppola’s drama The Last Showgirl. Speaking with Glamour about making a new splash in Hollywood after the success of her 2023 Netflix documentary and memoir publication, Anderson addressed her decision to not take part in After Baywatch: Moment in the Sun, which at the time of the interview had not yet premiered. In her words:

While it's unclear whether or not the advertising was put together after Anderson was asked to take part in the docuseries, After Baywatch was indeed promoted with the promise of past cast members being involved, and the existence of a never-before-seen interview with Pam Anderson from the '90s when she was still on the show. Nothing so groundbreaking, but the one thing the creators could promote without the actress' direct involvement.

But the creative team members behind the doc definitely tried their hardest to get her or someone from her life to agree to appear, at least according to Anderson, who said this:

After Baywatch hit the 2024 TV schedule back in August, and while it sparked some revived interest in the international smash hit and that in-the-works reboot (which Pamela Anderson would potentially be down to appear in), it didn't exactly set the world ablaze. Would that have been any different if the Barb Wire actress did agree to take part in new interviews? It certainly wouldn't have hurt.

Elsewhere in the interview, Anderson reitereated her past claims that no one from the scripted Hulu series Pam & Tommy reached out to get her approval or opinions, though the show's creator Robert Siegel and star Lily James have both stated they contacted the actress' reps at different points.

Pamela Anderson has had a whirlwind career, one where the public has paid very close attention to both her personal life and her appearance. She's been having a bit of a renaissance lately, appearing on Broadway in Chicago, her documentary Pamela, a Love Story (which is available with a Netflix subscription), as well as her first book. The Baywatch icon was praised for going makeup free during recent appearances, but recently joked that her sons were "horrified."

Pamela, a Love Story was actually directed by Anderson's son Brandon Lee, and the doc showed how close she is to her children. So perhaps it should be no surprise that they weighed in when she stopped wearing makeup for a period of time. As Anderson revealed in a cover story on HighSnobiety:

Pretty iconic behavior. Although it doesn't sound like Anderson's loved ones and team necessarily felt the same when she decided to go to events without glam. After all, she's glamorous enough herself. And in the end folks really loved seeing her rock the natural look.

Many fans got to reconnect with Anderson's story in her acclaimed Netflix documentary. So perhaps it's for this reason that people responded so strongly when she went make up free; that's mostly how we saw her throughout Pamela, a Love Story's runtime. 

Fans have watched as Anderson has reclaimed her image and power in this new chapter in her life. Pamela Anderson and her family weren't fond of their portrayal in the scripted series Pam & Tommy (which can be streamed with a Hulu subscription). But she was able to change the conversation through the documentary, as well as her book Love, Pamela: A Memoir of Prose, Poetry, and Truth. 

The Ander-ssance is seemingly showing no signs of slowing down, to the delight of her fans. She's set to star in Gia Coppola's upcoming drama The Last Showgirl, where she'll play a veteran Vegas showgirl and will be joined by Jamie Lee Curtis, Dave Bautista, Billie Lourd, and more. Anderson also has a role in the Naked Gun remake, which is another exciting project for the 56 year-old icon. 

It seems like the sky's the limit for Pamela Anderson nowadays, and it should be fun seeing where this comeback takes her next. Whether or not she continues to go makeup free at events remains to be seen, but we all know where her family sits on that particular subject now. In case you missed the news, Baywatch is set to make another comeback. The TV-centric brand tried to make the leap to the big screen in 2017, starring Zac Efron and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson going the R-rated comedy route. This upcoming reboot will have to go sans one of its OG cast members, Pamela Anderson. Since the announcement, Anderson has addressed possibly joining the reboot, expressing little interest in donning her reds again, but she has joined the cast of another remake that has me pretty excited. 

Some may be saddened that the iconic actress has decided to pass on the much-discussed reboot of the show that catapulted her to international fame. Instead, according to Deadline, she has opted for a different kind of nostalgic revival. She's  set to join forces with Liam Neeson in the upcoming remake of the comedy classic Naked Gun. It's an intriguing casting decision to say the least, but I'm intrigued by what the starlet could bring to the production. 

Typically, the news of a classic film's remake doesn't stir much excitement for me, but the latest project under Paramount Pictures has genuinely piqued my interest. This remake has enlisted an impressive trio: Liam Neeson, Pamela Anderson and Akiva Schaffer, a veteran member of The Lonely Island. Schaffer isn't just on board; he's set to write, produce, and direct. He has solidly established his comedic credentials, particularly with his successful direction of the Disney+ (well-received) Chip ‘N Dale: Rescue Rangers movie. He also helmed Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping, a comedy I consider one of the past decade's most underrated films. (For those interested, Popstar is available to stream with a Hulu subscription.)

As for Pam Anderson, she did make a brief cameo as her beloved character CJ in the 2017 Baywatch film and often has had fun nodding to her BW era. Still, reports suggest the actress has let C.J. go without any hard feelings. The Home Improvement alum has a well-documented flair for comedy, showcasing her talents in roles for Stripperella, Superhero Movie and Scary Movie 3, among others. These performances highlight her ability to handle comedic roles with ease, and she should be right at home in the spoof genre. 

Though the plot specifics about the Naked Gun remake are under wraps, what we do know is the upcoming film draws its inspiration from the OG franchise. Said entertainment property was derived initially from the TV series Police Squad!, which also featured the late Leslie Nielsen. 

Created by the visionary team behind Paramount’s Airplane!—Jim Abrahams, David Zucker, and Jerry Zucker—the NG movies became a phenomenal success in the early 1990s. This trilogy alone amassed over $216 million domestically, celebrated much like Airplane! for its over-the-top parodies, absurd scenarios and visual humor, where the background antics often stole the spotlight from the main action. It remains to be seen exactly how this new flick with Liam Neeson and Pamela Anderson will turn out. But the mere thought of the team working in front of and behind the camera has me pumped!

Parker, a skilled lifeguard on the Baywatch team who donned an iconic red bathing suit while fulfilling her duties. Now, all these years later, you might be wondering if the Playboy cover girl still has her iconic bathing suit. Well, the answer is she does, and she keeps it in a safe for a very serious reason.

There’s no doubt that Pamela Anderson was the bee's knees in the ‘90s. But like many gorgeous celebrities, there are dark elements that come from being a Hollywood starlet. In fact, that’s one of the reasons why Anderson safeguards her red Baywatch swimsuit as she told Flaunt that a homeless person once got her hands on it:

That’s got to be one of the scariest things a person can go through. I don’t even want to imagine what it must feel like to see a stranger suddenly in your house touching and stealing your things. The idea of this person sneakily living in your personal quarters when you have young children around is an especially unbearable thought.

It’s a sad price to fame as we've seen others experience things like it. For example, The White Lotus’ Alexandra Daddario had an armed stalker show up at her house, and one time, a stalker stayed in Jennifer Lopez’s pool house for a week. 

After the homeless woman got her hands on Pamela Anderson’s swimsuit, the Baywatch icon revealed where that famed bathing suit is now, explaining:

I don’t blame her, as I wouldn’t want to keep something a stranger touched either. It shows how scary the world can be if you have to safeguard a legendary swimsuit to prevent it from getting stolen. 

Even though the last time we saw the “super slow motion” Casey Jean was her cameo appearance in the cast of the Baywatch remake, Pamela Anderson’s days of donning the red bathing suit weren’t over. Last year, she jumped back into the red bathing suit for a new bikini line, “Pamela Anderson x Frankies Bikinis.” Seeing her pose in a C.J. Parker-like fashion makes me feel like time never stopped, because she looks as good as she did in the ‘90s beach series. The Canadian-American actress felt like it was important to give a nod to her red suit in order to feel confident wearing her “power color.” It still looks amazing on her.

As for if we’ll see Pamela Anderson wear the red swimsuit again for the Baywatch TV series in the works, allegations have said that the ‘90s series breakout star has no interest. It doesn’t come off as too surprising as Anderson had a strong opinion about the Baywatch film remake saying “No one appreciates the remakes.” While that still didn’t stop her from showing up in the reboot film for a few seconds, it looks like she’s ready to let go of C.J. Parker. But since we haven’t heard directly from the Home Improvement actress just yet, maybe there’s still time for her to change her mind.

However, she won't get rid of the swimsuit, and after that scary experience, she's determined to protect it.

Donna D'Errico is no stranger to garnering attention, having spent nearly 30 years as a TV star arguably best known for rocking the signature red swimsuit as Donna Marco on Baywatch, where she shared the screen with fellow model and actress Pamela Anderson. Like the latter, D'Errico made the jump to the small screen directly from landing centerfold status as a Playboy Playmate, and now she's once again following in Anderson's (bare) footsteps with her new promo for PETA, which is as clothing-optional as ads get.

While fans are possibly used to seeing D'Errico back in her Baywatch reds, which she wore anew to celebrate her 55th birthday in 2023 (as well as to spotlight the in-development reboot), but she had on a different kind of birthday suit for the PETA promotion below.

Indeed, this new PETA campaign dropped just a week before Donna D'Errico hits 56, so one might imagine that her birthday is right around the time of year when the actress feels most comfortable and encouraged to put herself each and every part of herself out there. And in this case, it's for a cause that's close to her heart, targeting items that she doesn't want anywhere near her heart, or chest, or anywhere else on her body.

D'Errico teamed up with PETA to draw more attention to the problematic ways in which many of the clothes we wear today can have highly negative effects on animal populations, from sheep to reptiles to cows to minks and beyond. She spoke directly to her life choices, explaining them by sharing the following with PETA:

Fans definitely shouldn't expect to see her rocking any leather or fur attire when subscribing to her OnlyFans page, where she said she gets tons of requests to see her doing everyday things from putting on makeup to choosing outfits and more. (It's not just feet inquiries these days.) Whether she's rocking slinky lingerie or giant insulated parks, you can bet the material comes from non-living sources.

Speaking to the idea of adjusting to clothing choices that don't cause harm to animals, D'Errico said:

Like Pamela Anderson, Donna D'Errico has also been open about other parts of her life, such as her history with plastic surgery and her time as a Playboy Playmate and Baywatch star. And she's even more eager to flaunt her stuff after getting flak from fans over showing too much, or from those who say she's too old for such posts.

While it's not clear whether or not D'Errico's partnership with PETA will be for the long haul, the org has been lauding praise for Pamela Anderson since she first dedicated herself to the cause back in 1997. She's continued to put her passion front and center in various ways over the years, and went completely in the buff for a 2019 campaign focusing on orcas.

But the one thing that separates the “Granddaddy of Them All” from your normal wrestling show is the event’s history with celebrity guests, who do everything from make brief appearances or participate in unforgettable matches.

Below is a list of the 35 celebrities who have appeared at WrestleMania, which dates back to WWE’s first pop culture event in 1985 and going all the way to its most recent running in April 2023. From WWE Hall of Famers to guests you may have forgotten, this is quite a list… 

Mr. T (WrestleMania)

We couldn’t kick off our list of WrestleMania celebrity guests with anyone but Mr. T., the star of The A-Team and Rocky III who sided with Hulk Hogan in the main event of the first “Showcase of the Immortals” back in 1985. His tag match with the Hulkster vs. “Rowdy” Roddy Piper and “Mr. Wonderful” Paul Orndorff wasn’t a wrestling clinic, but the spectacle of the headlining bout helped make WrestleMania the success story we know today.

Mike Tyson (WrestleMania XIV)

Mike Tyson may have had the quickest three-count in WWE history when he served as the guest enforcer in the WrestleMania XIV match that saw “Stone Cold” Steve Austin dethrone Shawn Michaels for the championship, but it’s still an outstanding moment 25 years later. The controversial boxing figure certainly made the 1998 event one to remember, even before he turned on his D-Generation X ally.

Cyndi Lauper (WrestleMania)

Cyndi Lauper, who was instrumental in the Rock 'n' Wrestling boom of the mid 1980s, also played a key role in the inaugural WrestleMania event. From her great backstage promo with the late “Mean” Gene Okerlund to standing in the corner of Wendi Richter when she defeated Leilani Kai to win the WWE Women’s Championship, the “Girls Just Want to Have Fun” singer was everywhere that night.

Snoop Dogg (WrestleMania 39)

Snoop Dogg has played a role in four different WrestleMania events over the years, but his most recent appearance at the 2023 “Super Bowl of Wrestling” has to be his best. There’s a case to be made for WrestleMania 39 being the best of all time, and the prolific West Coast rapper was key to that success. After Shane McMahon injured himself entering the ring, Snoop saved the segment when he pulled an audible and hit the Miz with a ridiculous “People’s Elbow.”

Muhammad Ali (WrestleMania)

Mike Tyson wasn’t the first boxer to make his presence felt at WrestleMania. That honor falls on the late, great Muhammad Ali, who served as the guest referee in the event’s first headlining bout. There’s even a moment where the boxing legend was standing in the ring with Hulk Hogan, Mr. T, and Liberace. Wrestling is wild sometimes.

Ozzy Osbourne (WrestleMania 2)

WrestleMania 2, which was the only edition in the event’s history to take place in three separate cities, saw a great number of celebrity guests throughout the night. One of the best definitely has to be Ozzy Osbourne, who served as the British Bulldogs’ manager when the team of Davey Boy Smith and the Dynamite Kid captured the gold in the Chicago’s Rosemont Horizon.

Pete Rose (WrestleMania XV)

One of the best running WrestleMania gags of the late 1990s and early 2000s was Pete Rose getting tombstoned by Kane. The controversial Cincinnati Reds legend, who was barred from MLB after a gambling scandal, showed up as the San Diego Chicken at WrestleMania XV in 1999 and was once again confronted by the “Big Red Machine,” who quickly put him in his place to the roar of the Philadelphia crowd.

Johnny Knoxville (WrestleMania 38)

The Jackass crew has a long history with WWE, and one of the genuinely best chapters in that story is Johnny Knoxville’s bout against Sami Zayn at WrestleMania 38. The “Anything Goes” match, which was one of the most memorable contests on the two-day card, had no business being so good. Combining old school wrestling storytelling with Jackass gags (like a giant hand and a mouse trap), the showdown became an instant classic.

Ray Charles (WrestleMania 2)

Some of the greatest singers of all time have lent their voices to WWE over the years, including Ray Charles. The beloved singer known for hits like “Georgia on My Mind,” “Hit the Road Jack,” and “I Got a Woman” performed “America the Beautiful” to kick off WrestleMania 2.

Bob Uecker (WrestleMania IV)

Milwaukee Brewers radio broadcaster (and Major League star) Bob Uecker has quite the history at WrestleMania, as he has popped up three times in the event’s history. It all started with WrestleMania III when “Mr. Baseball” helped out on commentary, but the next year's event saw one of the most classic moments in WWE history when Andre the Giant gave Uecker an interview he'll never forget.

Aretha Franklin (WrestleMania III)

In addition to all her hit songs, iconic movie moments, and other achievements, Aretha Franklin appeared at two WrestleMania events throughout her life, both of which were held in or near her hometown of Detroit, Michigan. The late singer performed “America the Beautiful” at WrestleMania III in the Pontiac Silverdome and then again 20 years later at Ford Field.

Bad Bunny (WrestleMania 37)

Rapper-turned-wrestler-turned-actor Bad Bunny made his in-ring wrestling debut at WrestleMania 37 where he teamed with Damian Priest to take on the Miz and John Morrison in a winning effort. He has since returned to the ring on multiple occasions and continues to improve as a performer.

Gladys Knight (WrestleMania IV) 

Seven-time Grammy winner Gladys Knight is another legendary singer who has been a part of the WrestleMania festivities over the years. Knight showed up at WrestleMania IV in 1988 to perform the customary “America the Beautiful” to nearly 20,000 fans in attendance at Trump Plaza in Atlantic City.

Run-D.M.C. (WrestleMania V)

A few years before WWE superstars performed the “WrestleMania” song, hip hop legends Run-D.M.C. hit the ring with a rap of their own at WrestleMania V in April 1989. The “WrestleMania Rap” was created for the event and was performed by the group in the middle of the ring in front of thousands of screaming fans. 

Pat McAfee (WrestleMania 38)

Former Indianapolis Colts punter and current sports talk legend Pat McAfee has had quite the history in WWE the past few years, including some pretty stellar in-ring moments. Perhaps the biggest came at WrestleMania 38 when he challenged Vince McMahon to a match after defeating Austin Theory. The night also included an appearance by Regis Philbin, who stepped in and helped provide commentary in the high-profile headlining bout. 

Alex Trebek (WrestleMania VII)

Alex Trebek, the longtime host of Jeopardy, was another major celebrity guest for WrestleMania VII where he served as the ring announcer during the main event match. The beloved TV figure, who passed away in 2020, also conducted multiple backstage interviews throughout the event.

WrestleMania 33 is best remembered for John Cena proposing to Nikki Bella in the middle of the ring after defeating the Miz and Maryse in a mixed-gender tag team match. But who was the ring with Cena and his former girlfriend? None other than Al Roker, the longtime weatherman and personality on NBC’s Today show.

Reba McEntire (WrestleMania VIII)

Reba McEntire made an appearance at WrestleMania VIII in April 1992. The celebrated country singer and actress took to the Hoosier Dome in Indianapolis, Indiana, to perform the “Star-Spangled Banner” in front of a massive 60,000-strong crowd of screaming wrestling fans.

Burt Reynolds (WrestleMania X)

WWE returned to Madison Square Garden for WrestleMania X in March 1994, an event that featured multiple celebrity guests like Donnie Wahlberg, Rhonda Shear, and Jennie Garth. The biggest actor to appear, and the man who served as ring announcer in the main event match involving Bret Hart and Yokozuna, was none other than Burt Reynolds.

Little Richard (WrestleMania X)

Another celebrity guest featured at WrestleMania X was legendary R&B trailblazer, Little Richard, who was on hand to perform “America the Beautiful” to kick off the historic event.

Pamela Anderson, who was all the rage at the time thanks to her role on Baywatch, was one of the multiple celebrity guests on hand at WrestleMania XI in April 1995. The pop culture sensation served as Diesel’s, aka Kevin Nash, valet in his bout against Shawn Michaels.

WWE has a long history of bringing in big-named athletes for marquee events, and that includes Pro Football Hall of Famer Lawrence Taylor, who took on Bam Bam Bigelow in the WrestleMania XI main event. The two-time Super Bowl champion was joined by a half-dozen other NFLers in a winning effort.

Boxer Floyd Mayweather is another big-name celebrity who has appeared at the “Showcase of the Immortals.” The decorated boxer, who took home a big paycheck for a 2021 fight with Logan Paul, entered the squared circle to take on Big Show in no DQ match at WrestleMania XXIV back in 2008.

Former U.S. President Donald Trump has made many appearances over the years, including a “Battle of the Billionaires” match at WrestleMania 23. Trump’s night ended after taking a Stunner from Steve Austin.

Rapper-turned-actor Ice-T showed up at WrestleMania 2000 where he performed “Pimpin’ Ain’t Easy” for the Godfather’s entrance.

Limp Bizkit (WrestleMania XIX)

Limp Bizkit, still one of the bigger nu-metal bands at the time, performed a pair of tracks at WrestleMania XIX in March 2003: that year’s official song, “Crack Addict,” and their own hit track, “Rollin,” for the Undertaker’s entrance.

Mickey Rourke (WrestleMania XXV)

After appearing in The Wrestler, one of the best movies of the 2000s, Mickey Rourke entered the ring for real when he confronted Chris Jericho at WrestleMania XXV. Though he didn’t participate in a match, he did give Y2J a knockout punch.

Paul Reubens As Pee-Wee Herman (WrestleMania XXVII)

The Rock may have been the biggest name in the house when he hosted WrestleMania XXVII in April 2011, but he wasn’t the only celebrity on hand that night. The late Paul Reubens, as his famous Pee-Wee Herman character, showed up throughout the night in one of his numerous WWE appearances over the years.

Sean 'Diddy' Combs (WrestleMania 29) 

Sean “Diddy” Combs appeared at WrestleMania 29 where he performed “Coming Home,” one of the event’s official theme songs.

After teasing it in the leadup to the event, Saturday Night Live stars Colin Jost and Michael Che showed up at WrestleMania 35 where they participated in the Andre the Giant Battle Royal. They weren’t successful or anything, but they did look extra ridiculous, especially when Braun Strowman got involved.

Machine Gun Kelly (WrestleMania XXVIII) 

About a decade before Machine Gun Kelly started his whirlwind romance with Megan Fox, the rapper showed up at WrestleMania XXVIII to perform “Invincible,” that year’s official theme song.

Often when celebrities make a splash during fashion week, it’s for some over-the-top ensemble or risqué look we haven't seen before. However, Pamela Anderson proved her icon status by making headlines for the exact opposite reason — going makeup-free to the shows at Paris Fashion Week. Of all of the reactions to the au naturel look, I didn’t expect to see Jamie Lee Curtis jump in to celebrate the Baywatch alum, but that is exactly what happened, and I am here for this lovely show of support.

Pamela Anderson posted a “Get Ready With Me” video on Instagram ahead of the Vivienne Westwood fashion show in Paris, declaring herself “makeup-free, liberated, and happier than ever.” In the video she explained why she was forgoing the glam treatment, and her words must have resonated with Jamie Lee Curtis. The Everything Everywhere All at Once actress posted screenshots from the GRWM with some quotes that she seemed to find particularly inspirational. Check it out below:

She admitted that the choice was a bit “rebellious,” but ultimately it was about being herself, and she said she was lucky to be able to be authentic as she paraded around Paris wearing beautiful gowns.

It was sweet to see Jamie Lee Curtis being a cheerleader for Pamela Anderson, but the move wasn’t out of the norm for the Halloween star, who is known for being passionate when it comes to beauty standards. Earlier this year after Karol G spoke out about being heavily photoshopped on the cover of GQ, Curtis called out the “BS” beauty industry. She wrote that corporations set unrealistic and unhealthy expectations so that people hate what they see when they look in the mirror and go out to buy products to cover their natural appearances.

Actress Andie MacDowell has also addressed the issue of beauty by refusing to dye her gray hair, despite some commenting that it makes her look older, and Justine Bateman has also embraced aging naturally, saying she thinks she looks “rad.” 

It looks like we can add Pamela Anderson to this list of women redefining what it means to be beautiful, and it’s empowering to see the support they have for each other.

Pamela Anderson may be an icon of the Baywatch era, but swimwear has been her jam for much longer. She was a pioneer of some of the more risquè looks that hit beaches during this era, and she told Interview magazine that her looks during her time on the hit TV show were all custom made. 

While she called the look a “power color,” it was returning to the red swimsuit that really was a big surprise for her. In the same interview about her Frankie Bikini’s collaboration, she said it was a surprise when the concept of nodding back to her swimwear roots actually came up as the new line was being designed.

But she said yes, and shortly thereafter a full collection was formed. In fact, the red one-piece has been the bestseller in the line, though a tank top and other bikinis that have also done well. Pamela Anderson Still Has All Her Iconic Swimwear

Pamela Anderson, it seems, is a woman who is sentimental about things. She revealed that she actually has kept all her iconic swimwear over the years. She says they aren't in the shape that they used to be in, but she's held onto them anyway, noting it was actually their complex silhouettes that led her to be more practical with the Frankie's Bikini's line. 

She's in good company with the swimwear brand, which has made a habit of collaborating with some major Hollywood names. Euphoria star Sydney Sweeney also collaborated with Frankie's Bikinis this summer, and the brand has also collaborated with the likes of Gigi Hadid and more.

To be honest, it’s really been the summer of the black bikini, but there are no rules when it comes to swimwear, and the enduring popularity of the Baywatch look certainly proves that. I'm glad Anderson brought it out of the vault this summer, and from the sounds of things, she is too. 

2023 has been subject to a lot of pop culture trends so far, but I think it'd be fair to add Year of the Blonde Bombshell to the list of options, thanks both to Barbie becoming a Hollywood juggernaut and to Pamela Anderson's re-ascension within the zeitgeist. The Baywatch vet has been embraced anew in light of her Netflix documentary and memoir being released, and fans have enjoyed bringing her iconic '90s looks back as much as they've embraced pinked-out Barbiecore fashion. While the Venn diagram for Pammy and Barbie doesn't necessarily feature tons of direct crossovers, the model revealed a sweet story about her connection to the doll's creator Ruth Handler.

Speaking with Elle about her latest fashion campaign for Aritzia's Babaton collection — which sees her wearing snazzy business attire while mowing the lawn and performing other outdoorsy chores — Anderson spoke candidly about her past, and how extremely uncalculated her clothing choices were during her 20s, not realizing that those specific looks would be embraced by influencers who hadn't even been born yet. One of her most recognizable looks involves the quasi-legendary red swimsuit from Baywatch, and is itself something of a reminder of a very early Barbie release that rocked a similar outfit. And as it happens, that particular doll was at the heart of Anderson's memory about its creator. In her words:

The iteration that she's referring to is over 60 years old at this point, as it was released in 1962, which was five years before the actress was born. Anyone looking to buy one of their own will need to shell out hundreds of dollars, at least when it comes to online sellers. I cannot imagine how much diehard fans might pay for the very doll that Ruth Handler gifted to Pamela Anderson. Probably enough to put a down payment on a dream house.

Anderson, who slipped back into the Baywatch bathing suit back in April 2023 for a new bikini line, doesn't necessarily feel super aligned with Barbie, for all that they may share in common. (For one, she's never publicly held any extended romantic relationships with anyone named Ken.) She shared her take on such comparisons, saying:

I think Anderson's fans would agree with that being the case, as it's far easier to picture her hanging out with Jane Fonda's sexualized sci-fi heroine Barbarella, from Roger Vadim's 1968 cult classic, than 98% of the Barbie population. (As a mom herself, she'd probably befriend and advise Midge.) And even beyond the cult bomb that was Barb Wire, let's not forget that she also voiced the titular entertainer-turned-superhero Stripperella in the 2003 animated series from Stan Lee, which is certainly worth of its own revival at this point. 

As far as dramatized and fictionalized versions of history go, both Barbie and Hulu's Pam & Tommy have been celebrated and acclaimed by critics and audiences alike. That said, the latter did not get a vote of approval from Pamela Anderson, who said its release made her downright sick. So if any collectible dolls or action figures ever get released as tie-ins for the streaming series, it's probably not a good idea to channel Ruth Handler and give one to the former Playboy Playmate.

Thanks to one of the best true crime shows in recent memory — Pam & Tommy — and Pamela Anderson’s own documentary on Netflix, Pamela: a love story, there’s been a lot of reflection over the past year or so about the marriage between the Baywatch star and Tommy Lee. The pair had a whirlwind romance in 1995 before becoming embroiled in their infamous sex tape scandal, but the Mötley Crüe drummer’s current wife downplayed that relationship in recent comments. Brittany Furlan called Heather Locklear — not Anderson (or herself) — “the love of his life,” as she opened up about being “very close” with the Melrose Place star.

Brittany Furlan, who married Tommy Lee in 2019, got real about her husband’s former marriages, saying that while much is made of his three-year partnership with Pamela Anderson, people forget he was married to Heather Locklear for much longer. Furlan spoke highly of the Dynasty actress, as she told People it’s important to her to try to stay friendly with Lee’s exes, saying: 

While it’s true that Heather Locklear’s marriage to the rock star has so far lasted the longest of Tommy Lee’s four (his union with first wife Elaine Starchuk lasted a year from 1984 to 1985), Pamela Anderson is the mother of Lee’s two sons, Dylan and Brandon, so that probably adds some weight to the legitimacy of relationship. It also really can’t be overstated how much the couple’s stolen sex tape cemented their place in pop culture history.

However, it’s Heather Locklear who Brittany Furlan has formed a relationship with. She said they met through Tommy Lee and called her “the most kind, down-to-earth person.” Furlan continued to rave about the actress, saying:

The fact that the Mötley Crüe star and Heather Locklear had been divorced for over two decades by the time Brittany Furlan came into the picture likely helped with any possible weirdness, and it’s always good when unnecessary drama can be avoided, right? However, that dramatization depicting the scandalous sex tape moment between her and her first husband, Tommy Lee, was a TV series that Anderson never got consulted about– which made her feel “sick.” This time around, though, the Baywatch actress got a sense of control back in releasing the documentary Pamela: A Love Story, where she unveils her life story in her own words. While speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, Anderson explained how she was convinced to tell all in her Netflix documentary and it has to do with her son, Brandon Thomas Lee:

It appears that her actor/producer son just wouldn’t have it; he knew his mother had a story to tell that should exist outside of the Hulu series and her memoir, which came out the same day as the Netflix documentary. As explained in the trade interview, director Ryan White actually didn’t want to take part in Pamela: A Love Story when Brandon Thomas Lee approached him about it, feeling he didn’t want to evaluate someone’s life. But Anderson’s son was persistent with the filmmaker, telling him he thought they’d find each other “very funny” if they spoke. It only took one two-hour Zoom call with the Home Improvement actress to change White’s mind. If his preconceived notions of Anderson changed after one conversation, imagine what the documentary can do for an audience.

Just like Ryan White was sold on Pamela Anderson, she felt the same way about him after their friendly exchange. Nonetheless, this media personality still had one request once this documentary was to be released to the public.

I can understand her reservations about seeing it. This documentary has Pamela Anderson sharing personal details of her life while looking her most natural self. Before watching Pamela: A Love Story, it should be known that Anderson exposes several traumatic events in her life and how she overcame them. Through personal videos and journals, she starts at the beginning of her childhood followed by her rise to fame in the ‘90s. And, of course, talks about the unauthorized release of her and Tommy Lee’s sex tape. But this time around, Anderson is the one telling her story.

Pamela Anderson may not be watching her own documentary, but critics and audiences have and they love it. It currently has a critical score of 96% and a 93% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes. 2023 continues to be The Year of Pamela Anderson, and it seems just about everybody is here for it. (Not an invite for the exceptions to speak up.) The modeling icon and Baywatch vet released her big tell-all memoir Love, Pamela, complete with those Home Improvement accusations, just ahead of the Netflix documentary Pamela, a Love Story, and has teased more big projects were coming down the line. And what a line it turned out to be, with Anderson bringing out the iconic red swimsuit look to reveal she’s partnered up with Frankies Bikinis for her first official line of swimsuits.

Anderson and Baywatch are as connected as peanut butter and jelly — which are the worst kinds of foods to have around swimsuits — so it’s a no-brainer why the imagery below was used to kick off the new “Pamela Anderson x Frankies Bikinis” line. And it’s also a no-brainer why everyone in the comments of her Instagram post is all-in on the iconic look.  

While it would be overtly stereotypical for either of Pam Anderson’s sons to react to their mom’s post with memes of Macaulay Culkin’s aftershave bit in Home Alone, fans know that the trio’s relationship bucks such trends and expectations. And both Dylan Jagger Lee and Brandon Thomas Lee were quick to show their support for her new business and creative endeavor.

Both of the young gents received their own fair share of kind words and support following the release of Pamela, a Love Story — with Britney Spears also chiming in temporarily — for how open and honest they all are with one another.  I can't tell whether it's a fun or a frightening idea for them to have the potential icebreaker: "I see you're wearing my mom's bikini." Maybe a bit of both. Anderson herself has talked about how everything is quite cordial these days with their father Tommy Lee, so hopefully that continues to be the status quo going forward.

The doc has been acclaimed, and Eva Mendes is one of the latest people to show it some love. 

Eva Mendes knows a little something about the highs and lows of the movie industry, as she was a Hollywood actress from the late '90s until about a decade ago, when she quit acting. The actress recently took to Instagram to share this sweet message that included her thoughts on Pamela Anderson’s candid documentary. Take a look at the post:

The Ghost Rider alum shared on social media that she really enjoyed checking out the Netflix documentary. She also recalled how she worked with the Baywatch icon around two decades ago on V.I.P. when she was a “nervous actor” just starting out in the industry. Eva Mendes remembered her co-star making her feel “welcomed” and how it meant “so much” to her. In her words:

V.I.P. was an action TV show that Pamela Anderson starred in from 1998 to 2002. The series saw her play a woman named Vallery Irons, who accidentally finds herself heading a bodyguard agency for celebrities. Eva Mendes was cast in one 1999 episode when she was in her early ‘20s, and the gig predates her early movie roles like Training Day, 2 Fast 2 Furious and Hitch. 

The Once Upon a Time in Mexico alum also said that she is happy Pamela Anderson told her story on her own terms. It’s great to see one actress supporting another’s circumstances, especially given how vulnerable Anderson is in the 2023 Netflix movie release. Pamela, a Love Story hit the streaming service on January 31 and spent two weeks in Netflix’s Global Top 10, even reaching the Top 10 in 48 countries.

Ahead of the release of the Netflix documentary Pamela, a Love Story, Pamela Anderson reportedly sent various text messages to Tommy Lee that reflected on their time together, with all of those memories having been stirred up by filming the doc and writing her memoir Love, Pamela. According to TMZ, she referred to him still being her “one true love,” speaking highly of their experiences while calling out the paparazzi for the damage caused. It’s said that, to date, Lee has not responded to the texts, and there are two schools of thought on what Anderson’s intentions were when sending them.

The more innocent and less problematic version, according to one source, is that the Baywatch vet merely wanted to share her appreciation with Tommy Lee for their shared past, which clearly still means a lot to her. And that despite the frank language used, she wasn’t interested in causing any strife with the drummer and his current wife Brittany Furlan.

But that may be the opposite of the truth according to other sources, who claim that Pamela Anderson isn’t being so honest during interviews when saying she is only respectful of their marriage. Rather, it’s alleged that both Tommy Lee and Brittany Furlan suspect that the Barb Wire star indeed intends to try and rekindle their romantic relationship.

The texts alluded to above apparently aren’t the only ones that have been passed along, as it’s reported Anderson has texted Lee often following his engagement with Furlan, from sharing the belief that they’ll be together again when they’re old to other messages about still loving him. As well, she allegedly has apologized for how she handled things in the past. If all of that is indeed legit, suspicions about her motives would seemingly be all the more justifiable.

Anderson’s messages have all gone unanswered, it’s said, out of Lee’s respect for his current significant other. It’s worth noting that, earlier in February, Brittany Furlan posted a video on TikTok where she (using the filter “‘90s Pam Makeup”) acted out a situation in which she, as Pam, learned of Furlan’s death, reacting in the most blasé way possible. She quickly took the post down, however, fearing her joke would be misinterpreted by fans and followers who are obsessed with Anderson and Lee getting back together.

Pamela Anderson has received a lot of comments and attention for her and Lee’s sons being a big part of the documentary process and working with director Ryan White. (Britney Spears shared some praise of her own before pulling it.) So she and her famed ex will always have big and important connections forever tying them together, but it’d probably work just fine for Brittany Furlan if the buck (and text messages) stopped there.

Since the story came to light, some have spoken out in support of the Dancing with the Stars alum. One such person is Ryan White, the director of her Netflix documentary, who“wasn’t surprised by the story. When asked about the reported flashing, White sided with his colleague, who he says “cannot be dishonest,” based on their experience making the doc. Even Britney Spears has posted some kind sentiments about her fellow starlet – and possibly shaded her kids in the process, too.

Home Improvement’s Patricia Richardson also spoke out about a resurfaced behind-the-scenes clip, which showed Tim Allen flashing her while wearing a kilt. Richardson clarified that the leading man didn’t expose his genitals to her. As she put it, Allen was “well dressed under there,” and she was simply surprised that he lifted the kilt at all.

Despite everything, Pamela Anderson has stated that she holds “no ill will” towards Tim Allen and believes that the comedian “had no bad intentions” behind the alleged flashing. The insider further alleges that Tim Allen was already worried about the future of his career before the flashing accusations, alleging that he thought politics played into the cancellation of Last Man Standing. Some fans of the actor believe his conservative beliefs also played a part in his being replaced in the Toy Story franchise, with Chris Evans taking over the role of Buzz Lightyear in last year’s prequel spinoff, Lightyear. 

There is no real evidence to support those claims — as the movie was billed as the story that inspired Tim Allen’s Buzz Lightyear toy — but that didn’t keep Allen from voicing his opinion about the film or his Home Improvement co-star Patricia Heaton from speaking out (twice) in Allen’s defense.

Patricia Heaton has also weighed in on the flashing situation, after a clip resurfaced of the leading man lifting the kilt his character was wearing in front of her during a blooper reel that played during an episode’s end credits. While the two situations are not comparable, Pamela Anderson’s allegations certainly gave a new perspective to the outtake; however, Heaton downplayed the moment, saying she was shocked that he lifted his kilt but that he was wearing boxer shorts.

One person who unequivocally believes the Baywatch alum is Ryan White, the director of her new Netflix documentary Pamela, A Love Story, who claimed to not be surprised that Tim Allen and Sylvester Stallone have denied the allegations made in her book. He said Pamela Anderson is honest “to a fault” and that he’d put his money behind anything she said.

She, in fact, doubled down on the flashing story in interviews promoting Love, Pamela, insisting that she held no ill will toward Tim Allen and was sure he didn’t have bad intentions. However, Pamela Anderson said post-#MeToo, she didn’t think he or anyone would have done that.

The Galaxy Quest star, meanwhile, called Pamela Anderson “a good girl,” but tried to discredit her recollection of the events that she alleged to have happened on the set of Home Improvement, saying “everybody at ABC is a little disappointed in her… memory, put it that way.” Only time will tell how this situation progresses in this situation and whether Tim Allen himself makes any comments regarding how his politics play into the matter.

Spears took to Instagram in a now-deleted stories post to praise Anderson and reflect on some of the parallels in their lives. Surrounding the release of her new memoir Love, Pamela, which is itself being accompanied by the new Netflix documentary Pamela, A Love Story, Pamela Anderson is once again turning heads, conquering headlines, and taking names. Or naming names, as it were, with much of the book’s promotional campaign being tethered to her claims that former Home Improvement co-star Tim Allen flashed her via an open robe on the sitcom’s set as it kicked off filming in 1991. A denial statement was shared on Allen’s behalf at the time, and now the comedian himself has addressed the issue, complimenting Anderson while taking a shot at the validity of her memories.

For her part, Pamela Anderson followed up on the claims after the fact, reiterating that she hadn’t called Tim Allen out in her memoir with judgmental intentions, and claimed she doesn’t have any “ill will” towards him at this point in her life. When asked about the accusation by the DailyMail, Allen mirrored her subdued attitude, while also implying that no one from the Home Improvement side of things puts value into her claims. In his words:

Allen, whose answers were put to video, spoke kindly enough of Anderson, though he twice referred to the 55-year-old Baywatch vet as a “girl.” Plus, he bypassed outwardly questioning her memory, and instead offered up disappointment in it, while also making it sound as if the entirety of Disney and ABC were also on his side. It’s unknown how anyone else who worked on Home Improvement feels about the situation, as no one else has come forward with their thoughts on the former Playboy Playmate’s claims.

Star Patricia Richardson addressed the blooper clip of Allen lifting the front of a kilt he was wearing while facing her, but said it was done as a gag without bad intentions. And it would appear she didn’t directly speak to anything that Pamela Anderson said in her memoir.  One of the only other people who has offered up a take — at least beyond Sylvester Stallone also re-denying Anderson’s claims that he offered her lavish gifts to try and win her affection — has been documentary director Ryan White, who helped Pamela, A Love Story, which is available to stream now with a Netflix subscription. White wholeheartedly believes in Anderson being an honest person through and through, and believes she’s speaking her truth. He didn’t mention anything about her having memory problems while filming, either. 

Though she wasn’t so positive when talking about her past with Tim Allen, Anderson has shared some high praise for the late Playboy founder Hugh Hefner, calling him the only man who ever treated her with full respect during her career. Which may explain why she was seemingly happy to work with him and the magazine again after her time on Home Improvement.

According to Yahoo! Entertainment, the director of the documentary, Ryan White, admitted to being “shocked” at finding out that Anderson has spent much of her time struggling with debt. He told the outlet:

The director continued, noting that he didn’t realize the Barb Wire star was in a near constant state of financial straits until about half of the way through the documentary shoot, when they went to share a meal at a restaurant and she insisted on paying. He added:

It’s probably hard for people who weren’t aware of pop culture in the ‘90s to imagine, but Baywatch was, indeed, a phenomenon. Anderson was on the series for five years, but it lasted for 11 seasons, and though it was never considered a truly good show (and was axed by NBC after its first season, leading to its long life in first-run syndication), racked up worldwide weekly viewership of over 1 billion people. 

To think that she didn’t get enough money from her time on the hit to sustain her for decades, especially as she became one of the most recognizable faces from the action drama, seems impossible. Though, in her forthcoming book, she does admit that she negotiated her deal for the series without any representation, and had no idea how much money she could have made.

They even turned down a $5 million payment, and she noted that she doesn’t regret not getting anything from its sale because of how much of a violation it was. The star and her ex refused to participate in the making of the show, and she even said recently that thinking about the show, which won an Emmy award for turning Lily James and Sebastian Stan into the couple, made her “sick.”

Less than a year after Hulu’s Pam & Tommy turned the titular couple’s sex tape theft into a caper dramedy, that show’s biggest naysayer, Pamela Anderson herself, is reclaiming coverage about her storied career in a big way, thanks to the simultaneous releases of her Netflix documentary and her autobiographical memoir. The actress and model has already been at the center of multiple high-profile headlines so far, as she claimed Tim Allen flashed his penis at her on the Home Improvement set and rehashed past claims that Sylvester Stallone attempted to win her over with a car and more. Now, she’s shared what might perhaps be an unexpected take on one of her earliest employers, Playboy founder Hugh Hefner. 

Considering her not-so-savory claims about the aforementioned Hollywood stars and others, one might think Pamela Anderson would be a key source of similarly salacious stories about Playboy magazine’s sex-consumed boss Hugh Hefner, who passed away in 2017 at 91 years old. But to the contrary, in an interview with The Times of London, the Baywatch vet named Hefner as being the one person in her career who could be counted on to not treat her the same way the rest of the world did at the time. And how did he treat her?

To be sure, Hugh Hefner has certainly been at the center of many stories and claims that paint him in a less positive light, particularly when it involved sex parties at the Playboy Mansion. But Pamela Anderson has almost always spoken of the Hef rather highly, both before and after his death, giving him much credit for helping launch her into orbit with her photo shoots for the mag, with her ascension to Playmate being quite the booster. 

As well, Anderson spoke about how much her first Playboy appearance affected her attitude and feelings about herself at the time, saying:

The Barb Wire star definitely isn’t alone in that respect, with many models over the years crediting Playboy and Hugh Hefner with inspiring feelings of self-love and confidence. It’s possible that Anderson could have achieved a similar career arc without the NSFW publication making her an object of lustful affection, but we’ll never really know what that reality would have been like.

'90s heartthrob and superstar Pamela Anderson’s name is back in the headlines, thanks to her forthcoming memoir Love, Pamela and a Netflix doc, Pamela, a Love Story. The last few days have seen a flurry of headlines surrounding claims made by Anderson. In her new book, the Home Improvement alum alleges everything from co-star Tim Allen exposed himself to her on her first day on set, that Sylvester Stallone offered her a condo and Porsche to be his “#1 Girl and most recently, the model-turned-actress says the producers of the Baywatch movie tried to get her to work on the project "for free." And of course, Pamela clapped back. 

Pamela Anderson recounted how producers of the critically panned 2017 Baywatch movie called her nonstop but made her an insulting offer. According to the Barb Wire star, the producers behind the 2017 release wanted her to do the film for free as a “favor” and a “homage” to her character. In turn, he actress made a very honest declaration to the powers that be, as she told Variety during her profile:

One could imagine why this would feel quite insulting for Pamela Anderson, who was one of the critical reasons for the show’s success. Baywatch was an international phenomenon, shown in over 150 countries, some only licensing episodes in which the star appeared. Yet the Scary Movie 3 actress claims she never saw a dime beyond her salary for the use of her likeness. However, she eventually accommodated the film’s producers and appeared in a small, nonspeaking, slow-motion cameo in the Rock-starring, NSFW, big-screen television series adaptation. On how things turned out, Anderson said:

Although she reflected on how that type of reported behavior wouldn't be accepted nowadays in the wake of the #MeToo movement.
