Following some acclaimed TV series on Disney+, The Marvel Cinematic Universe finally returned to movie theaters with Black Widow. And now that Cate Shortland's blockbuster has been out for a few weeks, the cast and crew can finally open up about its contents. That includes Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige himself, who recently live-tweeted the Scarlett Johansson blockbuster and shared insider information about its production.

Kevin Feige is the architect behind the MCU as a whole, helping to give each project connective tissue to the previous ones, while also setting up the future of the franchise. Black Widow is a unique movie as it offers closure for Natasha, while also revealing more about her mysterious past. Feige opened up about various aspects of the movie's production, even addressing Yelena's infamous green vest. As he explained,

Well, there you have it. It seems the ongoing gag with the vest for Black Widow was a constant reminder of the events of Avengers: Infinity War. Scarlett Johansson's appearance in that blockbuster was a unique one, especially her blonde hair and said vest. And every time that piece of costuming was used in Black Widow, it reminded audiences of Thanos' assault on Earth-- plus Nat's ultimate sacrifice in Avengers: Endgame.

Kevin Feige's tweet was spot on, because Marvel fans noticed the vest as soon as Black Widow trailers began to drop online. Fans immediately began wondering about this mysterious connection to Avengers: Infinity War, with some curious if Florence Pugh's Yelena was going to die throughout the movie's runtime. But now that the movie is out, fans want to know whether or not Natasha's sister was turned to dust as a result of Thanos' infamous snap. Feige addressed that question, saying:

Sorry fans, but it looks like that lingering question about Florence Pugh's Black Widow character will remain for the time being. While Kevin Feige knows whether or not Yelena was snapped out of existence after the events of Avengers: Infinity War, the fandom will have to wait before being privy to that information. But the question will continue to be asked by the moviegoing public, who are eager to know how Yelena's fate might have factored into Nat's decision to sacrifice herself in Avengers: Endgame.

Marvel fans fell in love with Florence Pugh's Yelena throughout the course of Black Widow, but she wasn't the only newcomer joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe in that recent blockbuster. Rachel Weisz and David Harbour also appeared as the parental figures of their chosen family. And it turns out that one of the sweetest moments between Alexi and Yelena actually came from Harbour's brain. As Kevin Feige revealed,

It's that attention to detail and commitment to acting that made David Harbour a fan favorite once Stranger Things debuted on Netflix. Moviegoers seem to have really responded to Nat's entire family unit, and it should be interesting to see where they end up popping back up in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Although the post-credits scene for Black Widow definitely seems to hint at big things for Yelena specifically.

In his live-tweet, Kevin Feige shared what it was like working on Black Widow's most impressive scenes. He also explained some speed bump that came along the way, like uncooperative weather. The movie's final action sequence takes place in the air, with Nat free falling and battling Taskmaster as the Red Room explodes all around them. While clearly the sequence utilized visual effects, Feige also explained that some sky diving did happen in order to nail the visuals.

Pretty cool stuff. Clearly there are a ton of moving pieces that come together when each new installment of the Marvel Cinematic Universe is released. Black Widow had a unique pressure because Cate Shortland's blockbuster was meant to give closure to the fans regarding Natasha's backstory and death in Avengers: Endgame. Luckily, it seems that audiences have really responded to the project, in particular the trio of newcomers.

With Black Widow now in the rear view, Marvel fans should buckle up because three new movies are going to hit theaters in fairly quick succession. Since so many movies were delayed, the schedule is going to be dizzying. But considering how long we waited for Phase Four to kick off, smart money says the fans won't be complaining.

While the Star Trek franchise has been doing well on television, in what was always the franchise's real home, the big screen universe has had a tougher time of things. A planned follow up to Star Trek Beyond reportedly stalled when contract negotiations for Chris Pine and Chris Hemsworth reached an impasse. Now, a new Star Trek movie is back on track, but it's unclear exactly what it will be about.

Speaking with Deadline, recently named Star Trek director Noah Hawley says he has his "own take" on Star Trek, which makes it clear the new movie won't be the one that was originally planned. It's not even clear if the movie will even include the current big screen Star Trek actors, but it also won't be connected to the current series, Star Trek: Discovery. According to Hawley...

Noah Hawley specifically says there's no mandate from Paramount to connect his movie to the series, and if this is Noah Hawley's own take, then it seem clear that's not where this one is going.

It's unclear exactly how fresh Noah Hawley's take on Star Trek might be. One assumes it will be a new chapter in the current big screen franchise but there's always the possibility that it could be a stand alone story that's simply set within that universe. Considering that salary concerns were an issue last time around, one would expect that won't change now. Although, if the new idea won't include Chris Hemsworth, there might now be enough in the budget to give Chris Pine what he wants.

Of course, when it comes to fresh takes, Noah Hawley's track record is the sort that inspires confidence. He has taken two existing properties recently, the Coen Brothers' Fargo, and the X-Men, by way of FX's Legion, and created very original, and very well regarded, stories. If he can do something similar with Star Trek on the big screen, then we could be in for something quite special.

Of course, it will be some time before we have any idea what this movie will actually look like, Noah Hawley states clearly that he hasn't actually written the script yet, and whatever idea he has could certainly go through a lot of changes during that process. The film has no set release date and likely won't get one until there's at least script with a green light.

Disney's theme parks are vacation destination for countless families, who memorize every detail of the parks, and methodically plan out their trips to each attraction. Given that iconography and nostalgic goodness, the House of Mouse has adapted a few of its biggest rides into live-action movies. The Pirates of The Caribbean movie became a massive franchise, Disney's latest ride-centric movie is Jaume Collet-Serra's Jungle Cruise. Starring Dwayne Johnson and Emily Blunt, fans have been eagerly awaiting any footage of information from the movie. The time has finally come as the first Jungle Cruise trailer has arrived.

Jungle Cruise is a big budget blockbuster for Disney, coming off the heels of Maleficent: Mistress Of Evil's release this month. The first trailer teased a fun and action-packed moviegoing experience. And for those hardcore theme park fans, the first footage even included an iconic line from the Jungle Cruise attraction. Check it out below.

Is it July yet? It's going to be a long wait before Jungle Cruise finally arrives in theaters. And considering how exciting the above trailer is, smart money says fans are going have a hard time patiently awaiting the movie's upcoming release.

The first Jungle Cruise trailer opens on Emily Blunt's Lily Houghton, who is a scientist working on some potentially volatile experiments in the 20th century. As the character narrates, her mission become clear: find the magical Tree of Life, and its possible healing abilities. But there will be plenty of obstacles, starting with a group of gentleman (including Jesse Plemons). The opening sequence sees Lily fight her way through a group of guys, getting by with ingenuity and plenty of luck. If this is any indication of how thrilling and quirky the action sequences in Jungle Cruise will be, it looks like we're in for a treat.

After Lily is introduced, the focus of the trailer pivots to its other star: Dwayne Johnson's Frank. Frank is a riverboat captain, who leads tourists on the titular Jungle Cruise, similar to the beloved ride from Disney's theme parks. Its revealed that he's got the ride rigged for entertainment purposes, including the marauders who terrify his clients. It's during this sequence that Frank introduces the "backside of water", which is one of the most iconic jokes from the real-life attraction. In fact, the ride is so popular it's been made into a children's book, which you can find here.

Eventually these two characters meet, as Lily needs Frank's help to navigate through the jungle so she can find the Tree of Life. Emily Blunt and Dwayne Johnson appear to have great chemistry throughout this trailer, as do the two characters they're portraying. They come from very different backgrounds, which should open up plenty of comedic opportunities. But Frank and Lily will have to lean on each other to make it out alive, facing threats from both the jungle and human villains.

Jungle Cruise looks like it'll have plenty of action sequences, balancing out the comedic moments that will hopefully buoy the project and keep the movie's pacing. One particular moment that got me chuckling happened when the two heroes were engaging thugs in hand to hand combat. While Lily holds her own alongside Frank's hulking presence, she accidentally punches him in the face during the heat of the moment. No harm was done, with Dwayne Johnson's character even complimenting her form.

There's a killer cast attached to Jungle Cruise, aside from Emily Blunt and Dwayne Johson. Jaume Collet-Serra assembled some serious talent, including Édgar Ramírez, Jesse Plemons, Paul Giamatti. Now we'll just have to wait and see how they all factor into the story.

Another week has gone by, and with it another handful of trailers that have made their way onto the internet. Marketing is a major aspect of film production, and often dictates how much money each respective release will make in theaters. Cinephiles need to get psyched, in order to motivate them to shell out money and head to the theaters.

The Toronto Film Festival took place the past two weeks, and plenty of movies have debuted there in hopes of drumming up initial critical success and anticipation-- hopefully bringing them Awards Season attention as well. And while not every moviegoer could attend the Fest, some of the movies have released full trailers online, serving as a consolation prize of sorts. Here are all the trailers you might have missed this week.

Midway

Famous wars and battles have always proven to be great fodder for movies, able to captivate audiences in a visceral way. We've seen this in projects ranging from Dunkirk to Pearl Harbor, although the latest addition to the genre is Roland Emmerich's Midway. The White House Down director's upcoming drama is based off the Battle of Midway from World War II, and he's assembled a killer cast to bring the story to life. This includes Ed Skrein, Patrick Wilson, Nick Jonas, Mandy Moore, Woody Harrelson, Darren Criss, and Dennis Quaid. The trailer teases an epic and thrilling journey, and the movie will arrive in theaters on November 8th.

Like A Boss

Like a Boss is a decidedly lighter movie, and its first trailer got a fair amount of attention on the internet upon being released this week. Directed by Miguel Arteta, the upcoming comedy is a take on the beauty industry, and looks like a hilarious and fun time in the theaters. The story follows two friends played by Rose Byrne and Tiffany Haddish, as they attempt to start a beauty company together. The problem is their respective attitudes, which should create workplace comedy. Salma Hayek and Billy Porter make up the supporting cast, with the movie hitting theaters January 10th, 2020.

Waves

Waves is one of the trailers on this list coming from a movie that participated in the Toronto International Film Festival. It Comes At Night director Trey Edward Shults directed the upcoming drama, which follows the life of Kelvin Harrison Jr.'s Tyler and his family. In it, Tyler is pushed to the limit of his young life by father Ronald played by This is Us standout Sterling K. Brown. The movie has been getting serious praise, and boasts more talent like Hamilton's Renee Elise Goldsberry and Lucas Hedges. Waves will get its full theatrical release on November 1st.

Little Monsters

Zombies have been the source of inspiration for quite a few movies, with the apocalyptic genre becoming more popular through the release of projects like Zombieland and AMC's The Walking Dead.  Abe Forsythe's Little Monsters looks like it isn't going to take itself too seriously, taking a page from Sean of the Dead. The upcoming comedy stars Lupita Nyong'o as a teacher, whose school trip goes terribly wrong when the zombie apocalypse begins. Josh Gad plays TV personality Tedd McGiggle, who looks like he's going to be a serious scene-stealer in the genre bending project. Little Monsters will get a limited theatrical release on October 8th, before streaming on Hulu starting October 11th.

Radioactive

Radioactive is another TIFF participant that released a trailer this week. The Rosamund Pike-led movie is set to close out the festival tomorrow night, in a gala presentation. The upcoming biopic is directed by Marjane Satrapi, following the life of physicist Marie Curie. Pike plays that protagonist, as she attempts to make her scientific work known and change the world in the process. Sam Riley and Anya Taylor-Joy fill out the cast, and it looks like Rosamund Pike will put the same type of conviction and ferocity into her performance as she did in Gone Girl. Radioactive will hit theaters sometime in 2020.

Spoilers below for anyone who hasn't yet caught up with Fear the Walking Dead Season 5.

I believe everyone would agree that last week's Fear the Walking Dead episode was far more fun than an actual trip to an abandoned roadside attraction, with Austin Amelio's Dwight showing up for some cowboy delights. However, the episode's most baffling moment came in the end, when it was revealed the trio of younger characters – Max, Annie and Dylan – were responsible for all those gory walker roadblocks Morgan & Co. kept coming across. But are they really a villainous threat for the core survivors?

In the exclusive Fear the Walking Dead clip below, Cooper Dodson's Dylan has a chat with Danay Garcia's Luciana that has me thinking the show has more protagonist-ish goals in mind for the new characters. (Or at least for Dylan.) Check it out!

As seen in the clip, Dylan is talking to Luciana about her very favorite book in the world, The Little Prince, which last played an important role in getting Charlie from a dastardly Nick-murderer to a trusted member of the group. (Even in Alicia's eyes.) Dylan isn't exactly used to the concept of entertainment, so The Little Prince's comparable narrative is something that may very well speak to his evolving sense of humanity.

It's not a giant, explosive moment in the episode, but if The Little Prince lights a fire within Dylan that counters what Max and Annie have taught him, then that could cause some major strife. Not that I'd think the teens would be able to outthink June, John and the rest, though they've already temporarily outsmarted them with all the walker obstacles. Still, Max and Annie may need to strike hard if Dylan gets hesitant about returning to their lifestyle after seeing how Lucy and the others live. (With electrical tape flowing like lava, I assume.)

Of course, I'm clearly taking everything right at face value here as far as The Little Prince's appearance goes. I can't vouch for how well of a bullshitter lil' Dylan is, although he's currently in the act of lying to everyone about what happened, so that's as good a sign as any.

I also can't vouch for Lucy's own skills to suss out someone else's nonsense, so she might be leaning too hard into the mindset that she's positively influencing Dylan. Which would be the perfect time for Dylan or the others to take advantage. He better not lose her book, though.

At this point, we still don't really know anything about these kids, or where they come from, or who they've had connections with in the past. They know things that the main group doesn't, and they're not easily willing to let go of such info. Annie is seemingly more confident than Max, though not so confident that she comes across as a too-far-gone loon. So while I wouldn't automatically think that they're truly evil children, I wouldn't invite them over for playdates with my children, even in the post-apocalypse.

One assumes that these kids will need some intelligent guidance in the near future, considering there are irradiated walkers roaming around out there. Could they already be doomed by radiation poisoning?

We've got more questions, too. Will the next episode of Fear the Walking Dead answer any questions about Al's disappearance? Will we get to see any other clues connected to the group that took Rick and Jadis from The Walking Dead? What's up with Strand? Are we ever going to learn more about Matt Frewer's Logan?

Of all the reboots, revivals and spinoffs out there in TV land, few have created the same kind of curious energy that HBO and Damon Lindelof's upcoming Watchmen series have. Though the buzz hasn't gotten too loud just yet without many official visuals to feast upon, that's likely to change with the release of Watchmen's first trailer, which can be viewed below in all of its mystifying glory. Complete with Don Johnson's first major TV role in a few years.

Go ahead and take a second to unwind, as I understand how intense that trailer got during its relatively short run-time. That was nuts. So many Rorschach masks. So many other masks. So many clock references. So many familiar actors. So many other things that are completely unfamiliar. And it was all fittingly capped off by a smiley face inside the HBO logo.

HBO's Watchmen is Damon Lindelof's attempt at repackaging Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons' original comic masterpiece for modern audiences, while also revising and expanding elements to add to the central mythos. In general, it looks like the series will borrow the threat of planetary armageddon from both the original comic and the Doomsday Clock follow-up that brings the Watchmen into the DC Universe.

One could assume that this show takes place after the original Rorschach, Walter Kovacs, died. In the comic, he opted for a suicide-by-Doctor Manhattan, knowing he wouldn't be allowed to live on to reveal Ozymandias' heinous plot to the world. That speaks to a certain kind of martyrdom that inspires followers to pick up the mantle, such as the group seen in the trailer. But does that mean that Rorschach's journal was discovered in this universe?

Fans don't get to see Jeremy Irons' possibly villainous Adrien Veidt doing anything villainous in the slightest, but that's likely just to throw us off his scent. I seriously doubt he's seeking inner peace with his meditation.

Of course, the act of making any straightforward guesses might be a fool's errand. This show was produced largely inside a spoiler-free vacuum, so it's hard to guess just how closely the TV show will adhere to any form of source material. It's awesome to see the pirate flag on the scythe, but there's no way of knowing just yet whether that will tie into the phantom ship of Watchmen's comic-within-a-comic, Tales of the Black Freighter

Even if the show did release a bunch of details, though, this is Damon Lindelof, who is known to defy expectations in different ways on shows such as Lost and The Leftovers. So it's safer just to assume that all assumptions are misguided in some way, even this one.

However things go, though, the world is all the better for an HBO drama that stars Regina King (as Angela Abraham), Jeremy Irons (as Adrien "Ozymandias" Veidt), and Don mother-watching Johnson (as Chief Judd). The trailer doesn't exactly give us a lot to go on for expectations with these characters, but their presence speaks to Watchmen's keen casting choices.

Beyond those mentioned, Watchmen also stars The Ballad of Buster Scruggs' Tim Blake Nelson, Hap and Leonard's Lou Gossett Jr., Rectify's Adelaide Clemens, Bates Motel's Andrew Howard, Sleepy Hollow's Tom Mison, Endeavour's Sara Vickers, Resurrection's Frances Fisher, Aquaman's Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, and more.

Watchmen currently doesn't have an official release date yet, but it will hit HBO at some point this fall, after all the summer shows have come and gone without seemingly killing off a giant crowd of carnival-goers.

In Season 4, Fear the Walking Dead's characters suffered some extreme Madison-sized hardships before eventually arriving at the current Season 5 squad. After defeating a threat who shunned samaritan values for villainy, Alicia, Morgan and the rest are ready to face the world in different ways this time around. For this exclusive new video, the spirit of Marvel's Avengers is definitely imbued in the Fear team (and in the circling-round camerawork), showcasing camaraderie, courage, strength, and even some levity. Check it out below!

As Avengers: Endgame currently tears up theaters, approaching a $2 billion dollar box office pull, the small screen has its own set of badass survivors with diverse backgrounds who are ready to do what they can to save the world. Albeit a completely different world. Fear the Walking Dead will see its ensemble covering more ground in Season 5 in search of survivors that need the kind of help that only these eight characters can provide. Not even the Avengers can brag about having Victor Strand in their crew.

Just in case fans weren't pumped enough for Fear to take over summer primetime, the promo makes the characters appear as intimidating as possible, and with some of the coolest music that Fear the Walking Dead has utilized yet. And I love the way the show title pops into the frame in the end, continuing the comic book-esque motif.

The promo also reminds us that these are still sympathetic characters who are willing to ask for a stranger's help as much as they're willing to help a stranger. Considering Charlie's actions in the past, Alicia knows that youth doesn't necessarily imply innocence, but she still smiles and declares their intentions to help. If that's not turning a new leaf...

To note, fans shouldn't expect to see these quiet young kids showing up in Season 5, as they're only around for the promo. But the upcoming episodes will introduce at least one new face, along with one that'll be very familiar to fans of the flagship Walking Dead series. Austin Amelio's Dwight will arrive at some point to reunite with Morgan, which we're hoping goes smoothly and without fatal outcomes. Meanwhile, Once Upon a Time vet and Legacies star Karen David will also be introduced as the repentant Grace, who brings a new set of challenges for the group after they cross paths.

As far as all the usual suspects go, this video provides something of a tight capsule for where some of them stand as Season 5 starts up. Morgan is the de facto leader, comfortable giving orders. Alicia is the protective enforcer, carrying Madison's legacy in a more headfirst fashion. Charlie, with the smallest weapon, is still finding herself within this group and the world at large. Strand aims to be more selfless by keeping the interests of the group and new survivors above his own.

Meanwhile, Al wants to be less of an observer, Lucy wants to carry on Nick's legacy, and John wants to balance his survivor's guilt by doing good for others. June will (seemingly) leave behind her more selfish instincts from the past in order to guide the group in her own way, through her unique skillset. I'm sure John thanks her for her service, too. Wink, wink.

Renée Zellweger is ready for her Netflix close-up in the teaser trailer for her new series What/If. News of the stylish drama arrived last year, but not much was heard after that until this new visual evidence. Armed with intense narration from its star, What/If's trailer gives prospective viewers their first glimpse at the new show. Check it out “what” happens “if” you watch below:

Steamy! Along with the first look, Netflix revealed the date subscribers can start binging What/If will be May 24, which is almost exactly one month away. Finish your other binges while you still can, because Renée Zellweger is not messing around in this trailer as she arranges various human chess pieces into place. She's definitely playing games with people's lives, but is everyone destined to be destroyed? Stay tuned.

What/If is already a pretty big deal for Renée Zellweger. It marks the actress’ first starring role on a television series ever. From what the new promo has to say, Zellweger is coming onto the TV scene in full force. Check out a clear shot of her character below before we dive more into the story.

As Zellweger's quasi-puppeteer makes her way up the stairs, many lives appear to be altered. The trailer for What/If shows off the various cast members and hints at their connections to one another. This does not appear to be actual footage from the series, to be sure, but rather a tone-setting preview. Netflix seems to be keeping actual show clips under wraps for now.

Plot details around WB TV's What/If remain elusive. Described as a neo-noir thriller, What/If will follow a pair of newlyweds in San Francisco in need of some quick funds. To aid in their financial goals, they accept a morally questionable offer from a mysterious female benefactor. Enter Renée Zellweger with offers "too extraordinary to refuse?" It would seem so.

You do get a sense of the character Renée Zellweger is playing in this story that will explore what happens when people step outside their comfort zones for morally stunted reasons. To say that Zellweger's is a power player would be an understatement. She is the queen, to following along with the promo's chess theme, and all others are her pawns.

At the end of the video, viewers will notice what appear to be wedding rings are on the board amid the fallen chess pieces. At that point, Zellweger can then be heard saying “Welcome to the game.” Ominous! And it sounds like at least one married couple is going to travel down some rocky roads when this series debuts.

Revenge creator Mike Kelley is What/If’s showrunner, and he'll also be writing and executive producing. If anyone knows about writing about the perilous interpersonal happenings of wealthy and privileged humans, it is him. The trailer certainly gives off vibes reminiscent of Revenge’s dramatic nature. To note, the show also boasts Robert Zemeckis as an executive producer, along with Melissa Loy, Alex Gartner, Charles Roven and Jack Rapke.

What/If, which will run for ten episodes, also stars Jane Levy, Blake Jenner, Louis Herthum, Samantha Ware, Keith Powers, Daniella Pineda, Juan Castano, John Clarence Stewart and Dave Annable.

It's coming soon, and the very first trailer has now arrived in all its monster-introducing and mall-walking glory. Check it out below!

For all the fun, exciting and potentially hilarious moments involving Dustin and Steve's mimed sword-and-lightsaber fights, I think the biggest moment of the trailer for the mythology fans will definitely be when Stranger Things' newest monster shows off his ugly spittle-filled maw while all out in the open here in our world.

One thing is for sure: that guy (or gal) doesn't look very happy, nor particularly willing to just chill out and let everybody off the hook for anything. Also, it's probably impossible for that thing to find a pair of shoes that fit, even in the new mall.

I certainly hope none of our sometimes fearless heroes were hoping to use that exit back there, because it's going to be out of commission for a bit. The trailer makes it look like Charlie Heaton's Jonathan is the only one in the hospital hallway with that slimy cretin, but that could have just been an editing trick. Whoever's in front of it is in dire straits, regardless.

The new Stranger Things Season 3 trailer is obviously full of other (rats and) big and wild moments, too, including our first big looks at the show's two newest characters. Princess Bride and Saw vet Cary Elwes is set to recur as Hawkins' Mayor Kline, who looks like he'll have something to do with putting on the big town fair that will likely get disrupted by transdimensional creatures.

Then there's Jake Busey's Bruce, who only pops up for the briefest of moments, and with a wild look in his eyes. I mean, this is Jake Busey, who seemingly gets cast based entirely on the wild looks that his eyes are capable of. But what's he looking all wild about here in Stranger Things?

Busey is playing a Hawkins Post journalist with a dark sense of humor and a lack of steely morals. Something tells me he'll be doing some investigating when it comes to everything happening with Sheriff Hopper, his gigantic mustache and the kids.

All that, and we still haven't talked about the return of Eleven! And also the return of Eleven getting into strange circumstances that lie on the outside of normal reality! That's just what she knows, although she does look to be more excited by the concept of a shopping mall than she'd be by a buffet filled only with waffles.

Fans will get to learn what will happen to Eleven after the Mind Flayer's "defeat" at the end of Season 2, and judging by Mr. Sloppy Face above, it doesn't look like there will be any lack of deadly forces coming after her and her friends. If only Eleven could fall back on the happy worries of flirting at arcades and shopping for shoes, as opposed to witnessing evil storms and getting trapped in black abysses.

Looks like it's time for all the Stranger Things characters to do some growing up in Season 3. Well, except for Dustin and Steve, obviously. They're allowed to stay childish forever!

Stranger Things Season 3 will be here to celebrate America's birth with the rest of the nation when it premieres on Netflix on Thursday, July 4, at 12:01 a.m. PT.

The relatively recent re-approach to true crime television is seeing no signs of slowing down, and it's entirely possible that Hulu's upcoming anthology drama The Act will invigorate the subgenre's fandom even more. (Especially now that the non-real True Detective's finale has aired.) Just take a look at the first trailer below, which features recent Golden Globe winner Patricia Arquette as the domineering, duplicitous and enervating mother Dee Dee Blanchard of Joey King's Gypsy Rose. Check out the cringe-inducing trailer below.

The real-life family situation between Dee Dee Blanchard and her daughter Gypsy Rose is truly the stuff of nightmares, so it makes sense that The Act was co-developed by journalist/critic Michelle Dean and the creator of Syfy's excellent horror anthology Channel Zero, Nick Antosca. The duo worked with their creative team to craft a TV show that may not outwardly look terrifying, but is still horrific to consider in just about every way.

For those who aren't so familiar with the tragic stories of Dee Dee and Gypsy Rose Blanchard, let's go over some of the less spoiler-driven facts that the trailer hints at. Born somewhat prematurely in 1991 as a healthy baby, Gypsy Rose spent the next 24 years as the unfortunate subject of her mother's presumed mental disorder, Munchausen syndrome by proxy.

Over the years, Dee Dee claimed that her daughter suffered from brain damage due to her premature birth, not to mention leukemia, muscular dystrophy, and a host of other ailments that Gypsy Rose was later medically proven to not be suffering from. As viewers can surmise, those false diagnoses are why actress Joey King looks so debilitated throughout the first trailer for The Act.

Similar to the ways things played out in real life, Patricia Arquette's Dee Dee Blanchard wasn't a mother solely driven by malice and the urge to make her daughter miserable. By most counts, the actual Dee Dee appeared to genuinely believe that Gypsy Rose was suffering from so many afflictions, and seemingly wasn't able to take an objective big picture look at the situation. Especially not when the story was taken as truth by the Make-a-Wish Foundation and the Ronald McDonald House, among others.

As it's made abundantly clear in the trailer, nothing about this situation is comforting or easy to understand, and it's not hard to imagine that viewers are going to get severely stressed out as the season goes on and Gypsy Rose's under-developed independence starts to rear its head. Depending on how dark and nerve-wracking things get, The Act could be a perfect example of an anti-binge show.

Unlike documentary-style true crime hits like Netflix's game-changing Making a Murderer, The Act's first season centers on a case that has already been concluded and figured out, so there aren't necessarily any mysteries to solve. At least, perhaps, any mysteries beyond what can bring a person so far over the edge that he or she puts a child through such a tortured life. I guess we'll have to watch to see if Patricia Arquette's performance invites such curiosity.

Also starring Chloë Sevigny, AnnaSophia Robb and Calum Worthy, The Act Season 1 will debut on Hulu on Wednesday, March 20, at 12:01 a.m. PT.

This Is Us doesn't have many episodes left to go before its Season 3 finale arrives. Things are getting progressively crazier for the Pearson clan, and it looks like a rough turn may be approaching for Kate and Toby. The most recent promo for Episode 14, "The Graduates," shows Kate being rushed into an emergency room on a stretcher, all while Toby screams her name as he follows behind her with Kevin. Take a look at the not-so-optimistic trailer below.

So what's happening with Kate here? She arrived at the hospital via an ambulance, and whatever it was seemed to take place when she was with Kevin. Toby is seen hanging out in the waiting room, but then quickly follows the stretcher before it cuts to Kate with a worried look on her face. Kevin and Toby look equally worried, so is something wrong with the baby?

It's hard to say, as pregnant women may face random hospital trips, with some just precautionary in nature while others are for more serious reasons. Perhaps Kate found out Kevin fell off the wagon, and her anger and stress caused her to have some issues? If so, this could be a case of "no lasting harm, no lasting foul" in Kate's book, but it's hard to say how Toby will react to the situation. He might have trouble giving Kate's twin brother a pass in this instance.

There's also a case there could be something more tragic happening here, as doctors have previously told Kate that her weight, combined with past issues with pregnancy, already made this a risky endeavor. Sadly, this hospital trip could result in her losing yet another child. Could This Is Us cruelly dash Kate and Toby's hopes for a child yet again?

Let's also not forget that when Toby's flash-forward was shown earlier in the season, Kate was nowhere to be found. Additionally, Toby wasn't wearing his wedding ring, which means this hospital trip may be the last trip Kate ever makes. Granted, it feels highly unlikely This Is Us would kill off Chrissy Metz' character in Season 3, given she carries one of the major storylines in the present day, but anything is possible!

With so much of the present story arcs drawing connections to the flash-foward scenes, it wouldn't be surprising to learn this event actually connects to the past in some way. Hopefully This Is Us goes the more optimistic route and this turns into a net positive for Toby and Kate, although one would think there isn't much to smile about unless she's going into early labor. Kate hasn't even had her baby shower yet, so we're assuming she's not at the nine-month mark just yet.

Like many Saturday Night Live alums before her, Aidy Bryant is finding success outside of the sketch comedy series. Is Bryant really considering leaving the NBC show, though? Here is what she had to say regarding her future on SNL:

Based on what Aidy Bryant said (via Deadline), she is not planning to go anywhere anytime soon. The Saturday Night Live star has been on the show for seven years. She started her impressive run in 2012.

What Aidy Bryant had to say regarding her future should put to rest any concerns she may be leaving. From the sound of things, she is not ready to say goodbye quite yet. So, what brought on the speculation in the first place?

Aidy Bryant has a new show coming up on Hulu entitled Shrill. It is an adaptation of Lindy West’s novel. Bryant stars in the series, which she also co-wrote. Hence, she has been pretty involved in the series. Bryant’s involvement is not where the show’s Saturday Night Live connections end.

Saturday Night Live’s creator, Lorne Michaels, is an executive producer on Shrill. The Hulu series was filmed during SNL’s summer hiatus. So filming did not interfere with Bryant’s work on Saturday Night Live, at least for this season.

If the show is a hit, it stands to reason that a second season could be in Shrill’s future. Should scheduling issues emerge then, they would have to cross that bridge when they arrive at it. Shrill’s initial outing was able to be filmed without incurring any scheduling issues with Saturday Night Live. Hence, it seems hopeful that a second installment would follow suit.

Lorne Michaels clearly believes in Aidy Bryant’s talent. Bryant has been a main cast member on SNL for seven years, and he is executive producing her new show. If Aidy Bryant ends up leaving, it would not be the first time a breakout star has left the show.

Despite many outside opportunities, a lot of SNL stars have been able to keep their Saturday Night Live schedules going alongside other things. Aidy Bryant might decide to take that track. It is working for many of Season 44’s current stars.

Aidy Bryant seems to be taking the SNL experience one season at a time. She mentioned that she would "definitely" be back “next season.” As for this season being her last, she seems considerably hopeful it will not be. Time will tell how things play out.

Don Cheadle will host tonight’s (February 16) new episode of Saturday Night Live. Adding to the excitement is that this is his first time hosting the show. Gary Clark Jr. will be the episode’s musical guest.

Clandestine organizations always have their share of secrets to keep, but S.H.I.E.L.D. likes to kick it up a notch by wrapping secrets inside of mysteries and sending them to space. Arguably the biggest of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.'s conundrums involves the fate of Clark Gregg's Phil Coulson, who was last heading to Tahiti to live out his last days. The first Season 6 trailer, however, offers up some potentially different answers for Coulson's fate. Check it out!

The first moments of the actual trailer, as opposed to the mini-teaser, probably made fans pull a double-take, considering Agent Coulson appeared to be standing there talking to Mack as naturally as could be. Before too much speculation could be spent on where this scene took place, reality upended hope.

It wasn't actually Coulson in the office, but rather a hologram of the presumably lost leader. Disappointing as that may be, it was kinda cool watching Mack walk through him like that.

I can't be the only one who found it curious that Coulson brings up forming a team built on "trust," and then warns not to try and think about everything all at once, just before the plainly stated message "Agent Coulson is Dead" popped up on the screen. Are we meant to put trust in this statement, or will thinking about such things cause us to crack?

May says that she was with Coulson "until the very end," and that beyond just some beach-time together, that the two got "more than they thought they would." One may infer something romantic from a light reading of that line, thinking Coulson and May took their relationship to a deeper and more loving level in his final days. But what if she's talking about something else entirely?

The trailer ends on a whopper of a shock, with the official reveal of Clark Gregg's return for Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Season 6. Only, this might not be Coulson. Or is it? Or isn't it? Coulson's on first?

WTF, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.? The dialogue heard over the reveal has...this character...saying that he's "never heard of" S.H.I.E.L.D., even though he was pegged as someone who works for them. Which brings about its own host of questions, which we'll run through from least fantastical to most fantastical.

Did Coulson's somehow get cured in a natural way? Did Coulson somehow get cured in an unnatural way that he was happy with? Did he pass on and then come back from the dead somehow, possibly in ways similar to how his death was reversed in the first place?

If any of these are true, then is Coulson just acting like he doesn't know what S.H.I.E.L.D. is for safety reasons of some kind? Or did he actually lose his memory, either through injury or through someone else's intentional scheming?

Speaking of intentional scheming, the other major possibility here is that this is actually Evil Coulson. That concept opens up its own subsection of answer-less questions. Is it actually a different version of Coulson or is it just someone using the protagonist's visage? Or was he initially saved, but losing his morality was the price he paid? So many scenarios built out of a three-second moment. Kucos, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

We're still not sure when Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. will debut its sixth season, but we know it's coming in July 2019, so expect to see lots more trailers and clips before then. And take comfort in knowing that Season 7 is also on the way. In the meantime, the midseason primetime schedule is full of shows that should be rewarded with your attention.

As one of the most physically brutal characters in all of comics, The Punisher is a tough act to pull off in today's society. Yet, Netflix's standalone series is following up its stellar first season with a new mission for Jon Bernthal's Frank Castle, and fans can start to make sense of it all by watching the first full-length Season 2 trailer below. (It's probably NSFW if your work frowns on people getting murdered left and right by grunting behemoths.)

Woo! There's something about Alice In Chains' "Would?" that just goes perfectly with The Punisher's signature action beats; even the remixed version of the song. And boy, are there a lot of big, bold and bloodied action beats in this show.

Let's talk about the new details first. The trailer kicks off at Lola's Roadhouse, putting Frank into contact with teen Amy, playing by Scream's Giorgia Whigham. Not much has been revealed about Amy just yet, but we know she's on the run from someone (who is likely at Lola's Roadhouse). As well, she's doesn't seem to be afraid of hanging out with Frank afterward, possibly in a hotel room.

One might think that seeing Frank pull The Joker's pencil trick on a guy -- only using a bigass knife instead of a pencil -- should be enough to curb anyone's urges to keep Frank as a close friend. But I guess if he's stabbing those faces specifically to help keep Amy alive, that might sweeten the pot for her.

And wait a minute! Was that Frank Castle kissing up on a woman that is neither his late wife Maria nor his potential future fling Karen Page? (It definitely wasn't Amy, either, for those worried that the show might go down that creepy road in Season 2.) Is Frank going to find new love this year, and how would that affect his life and personality?

Then we have this season's big villain that isn't Billy Russo, and Interstellar's Josh Stewart is perfect at being the dead-eyed, buttoned-up zealot John Pilgrim. Admittedly, we don't get to see all that much from John Pilgrim through all of the gunfights and fistfights, so perhaps his approach to antagonism will be slightly different from the run-and-gun elements of Billy and Frank.

Speaking with CinemaBlend and other press outlets during a Punisher set visit earlier this year, here's what Josh Stewart had to say about his character.

I dare say he would feel criminally out of place within The Punisher if he wasn't planning on drawing his demons out once more. This isn't a show where happiness and calmness are used to balance Frank's dark and dour journey.

Now for some more familiar elements, such as Billy Russo, who starts the season up as a scarred-up hospital patient dealing with major memories problems. (At least, that's what he says.) Though the show won't technically be calling him Jigsaw, comments have been made about how his brain is a jigsaw puzzle that needs to be reshaped and put back together.

Another weird thing is that Billy is also dealing with some memory loss, having dealt with some major head trauma after that brutal brawl in Season 1. So while Frank is now on a mission to keep Amy safe and to keep himself alive, Billy becomes obsessed with learning about what caused his injuries. Something tells me he's not going to like the answer.

Of course, Billy isn't trapped in a hospital for the entirety of the trailer or anything. Rocking a creepy black-and-white mask, he and a bunch of other dudes apparently have some kind of an anarchic crime spree happening. Will Frank be able to stop it? Will Billy and John Pilgrim work together at all? Where does Amy fit into all this?

As well, what can we expect from Supergirl's Floriana Lima as therapist Krista Dumont, the woman in charge of helping Billy mentally recover? She apparently has a set of her own unique issues lurking beneath the surface, and she's the character with the closest ties to Billy when things start off. But will she be one of his earliest victims, or does Dr. Dumont have what it takes to bring Billy back around to sanity.

There's no way we could bounce out of this story without talking about Frank being back in his skulled-out duds for Season 3, even though it looks like the jacket has taken and is taking a ton of damage. It's not immediately clear why he would bring that jacket out again, having supposedly left the iconic costume behind once Billy was put down. But there apparently is a distinct reason.

Here's how Jon Bernthal explained the reemergence of Frank's iconic look during the set visit earlier this year.

Regardless of whether it makes sense or not, fans are always going to want to see Jon Bernthal's Frank Castle rocking the skull. It's a shame there aren't any moments in the trailer where Frank and Micro are designing a second version. Actually, it's a shame that the trailer doesn't show Micro or Karen in it, even if it's good to touch base again with Jason R. Moore's Curtis Hoyle and Amber Rose Revah's Dinah Madani.

Award shows are understandably a great time to promote things to passionate consumers of film and television. That may be why HBO decided to use the Golden Globes telecast to drop a promo for its upcoming 2019 programming, featuring the first look at the highly anticipated Watchmen as well as some other upcoming HBO shows. A couple moments from the upcoming superhero drama (and other shows) rolled just after a reel for the upcoming season of True Detective.

There's a lot to unpack here as it all opens up with Jean Smart's FBI Agent (possibly named Agent Blake) rolling up to a compound. It appears she's arriving on the scene of something big and weird, as evidenced by the yellow-masked police force that appeared more than once throughout the footage. A previously released character description teased Smart would be covering a murder during Watchmen, so this could be where that deed goes down.

Next up, we have a person with a golden latex mask sharing a look with someone else in a similar wool mask. This makes it a bit hard to distinguish which actors are playing this duo, but context appears to show us these two are cool with the yellow-masked police force. Behind them is a character who also appears to be in law enforcement, but is rocking a noticeably different look from the more generic officers.

The character who appears to be roaming the halls could be Tim Blake Nelson's character, reportedly named Looking Glass. Nelson's character is described as an Oklahoman cop, which may explain the non-metro law enforcement garb. It's hard to gather much else about this character (provided it even is the character) from HBO's promo, but past reports have implied he's a bit of a sociopath.

Then we're on to Jeremy Irons, who is believed to be playing the role of the noted Watchmen hero-turned-villain Ozymandias. If that foreboding statement of "It's only just begun!" is any indication of what the megalomaniac is up to in Watchmen, things might get quite ugly indeed. Did anyone really expect this to be a fun light-hearted story where nothing bad was going to happen though?

Last, but certainly not the least, the footage gives fans a familiar-looking patch of ink blots on a mask. The holes in the mask, plus the way this show is twisting the source material up, might lead some to believe this isn't specifically Rorschach. It's hard to believe two characters could sport such clothing, but lots of weird things are possible in Watchmen's universe.

There's not a ton known about Damon Lindelof's Watchmen, but we do know the HBO superhero drama is an original story that takes place in a present day timeline. The story has been described not to be an adaptation exactly, but a work that stands alongside it similar to what Noah Hawley's Fargo series is to the Coen brothers' original film.

As for what followed the Watchmen footage, there was a quick peek the Zendaya-starring high-school-centric series Euphoria. We also got a short glimpse of Meryl Streep in Big Little Lies Season 2, which is highly anticipated. As is the seventh and final season of Veep, whose hilarious star Julia Louis-Dreyfus also popped up.

Fellow awards-worthy comedy Barry was next up, as the assassin turned actor punched a wall that exploded into a dragon and scenes that teased Season 8 of Game of Thrones, with Sansa handing over Winterfell to Daenerys. No lie, a Barry crossover with Game of Thrones is everything HBO subscribers need in 2019.

Things went rather quickly from there, with a quick scene of Succession giving way to much shorter glimpses of returning shows Divorce and The Deuce, as well as newer series Chernobyl and Catherine the Great. It all culminated to the tagline "it all starts here," which certainly seems to be true following all of those great teasers.

Watchmen and all of those other shows are headed to HBO in 2019, and judging from the looks of that footage, it will be a good time to have a subscription. For a look at all the crazy things coming to television besides that, visit our midseason premiere guide.

Despite any and all behind-the-scenes drama that went on with Netflix and Marvel, leading to all those cancellations, The Punisher Season 2 is definitely still high on my list of anticipated 2019 shows. That excitement level definitely ratcheted up today, thanks to this new video showing off Billy Russo's reemergence as the disturbing comic book villain Jigsaw. Also, the Season 2 release date! Check it out!

As the second Punisher teaser to get released this week, the Jigsaw-centered video doesn't feature any actual show footage, but is instead a more supplemental promo that underlines the upcoming rivalry gets between Frank and Billy, similar though they may be. We all saw how things ended the first time around, which is why the former Marine sniper's face looks as grisly as it does. It's hard to walk away injury-free after having one's face dragged through a bunch of broken mirror shards.

Now let's talk about that mask, shall we? Rather than making Billy's face the roadmap of ghastly scars that the source material might have inspired, The Punisher showrunner Steve Lightfoot decided to add a delightful horror touch to the Jigsaw introduction with that mask that would feel right at home in a Purge flick. As a related aside, how baffling would it have been to see him wearing the Jigsaw mask from the Saw franchise?

I gotta admit, I do love the way it looks, as if it was quickly crafted with a Sharpie without any real knack for design or proper aesthetic. It definitely helps keep the creep factor intact, if nothing else.

Of course, for all that I've been referring to the villain as Jigsaw, The Punisher won't actually be using that nomenclature in Season 2, similar to the way "Kingpin" wasn't used to refer to Wilson Fisk during Daredevil's first couple of seasons. While that will likely tick some fans off, the point was to keep things grounded and focused on the psychological torment that Billy is going through. (Something that's played up pretty well in the above video as he screams about his scars reflecting his biggest sins in life.)

Here's how star Ben Barnes put it during the Season 2 set visit that CinemaBlend's Corey Chichizola attended.

Note that by saying Billy is dealing with psychological issues that have turned his brain into a jigsaw puzzle, that isn't to say that his mental troubles are solely tied to how his face looks or the pain he still feels from his injuries. He literally did go through some brain trauma during his big carousel fight with Frank, and it's taken away some of his memories and parts of his core personality. Which could be a good thing, at least until it isn't.

Ben Barnes continued:

I wonder if Ben Barnes is only referring to medical professionals when saying that "they" are trying to put his brain back together. It seems like he'll end up falling under some other character's wing in Season 2 that guides him to flourish as a homicidal shitshow, but I guess he'll have to get mildly healthy first.

Check out another new picture of Billy Russo's Season 2 visage, in which you can peep out his scars a bit more closely. Because yes, that is definitely a bullet hole in Billy's cheek, from where Frank shot him in the Season 1 finale.

It's almost criminal that Ben Barnes manages to still look as suave and attractive as he does despite all the physical trauma he went through. I've had sneezes that caused more noticeably debilitating damage to my face than what he's got going on there. Still, it's hard to envy that.

It's not just Billy going through some thangs in Season 2. We know that Frank will be dealing with his own issues in trying to come to terms with the fact that everyone he gets close to dies a horrible death. He'll be trying to figure out if there's a "real" Frank Castle hiding inside somewhere, or if he's forever meant to only be a brutal shell of a soldier, fighting without a sense of an end game.

As such, Jigsaw should make quite the formidable foe during that self-discovery journey. Billy is a reflection of what Frank could have turned into had he not stuck to his guns and stayed on an ever-so-slightly more virtuous path. Of course, if Billy starts trying to sway Frank to the other side, our friendly neighborhood Punisher might need Karen Page around to keep him on the right path.

The Punisher Season 2 will hit Netflix on Friday, January 14, at 12:01 a.m. PT. While waiting for the first full-length trailer showing us Frank busting more skulls, be sure to take note of all the new 2019 Netflix shows and other new and returning series hitting primetime in the midseason.

For its upcoming original series Sex Education, Netflix released a first trailer that does not shy away from its central subject matter. Many viewers likely won't shy away from the prospect of X-Files fave Gillian Anderson as a provocative sex therapist with a unique approach to parenting. Check out the first full trailer below, which centers on Asa Butterfield's teenager Otis unwittingly becoming his school's go-to source for all things down and dirty.

Even though the trailer kicks off with Gillian Anderson's Jean Milburn asking her son about his recent habits where he pretends to masturbate -- the therapist mostly takes a backseat to all the younger characters on display. Normally, I'd complain more about the actress' sidelining, but Sex Education does look like a pretty solid and fun show with some offbeat charms, so I'm game to try and enjoy it all.

In laying out its narrative thrust -- pun intended -- Sex Education's trailer showcases the gamut of emotions that will be on display. As someone whose home life is revealed to be filled with sexually charged conversations, sex manuals, sex videos and more, Otis becomes his high school's go-to source for information and advice about hooking up. Of course, textbook knowledge doesn't always match up with experienced know-how, so I expect Otis will do some advanced learning of his own as the season progresses.

In a turn of events that feels partially cribbed from a Saved by the Bell writers room, Otis joins his best friend Eric (Ncuti Gatwa) and the brilliant "bad girl" Maeve (Emma Mackey) to start up an unofficial sex therapy clinic for other students. We get to hear some of the problems suffered by the other teens, too, such as one girl whose "pubes are out of control," and one dude who wishes he had a "normal dick." Rawr?

Don't expect for Sex Education to be solely full of puerile gags and awkward moments for the sake of being awkward. Creator Laurie Nunn seems to be shooting for a more genuine slice-of-life approach to the humor here, as opposed to an American Pie-esque array of shock humor. The new series isn't wholly fixated on jokes and silly situations, either, and it looks like Sex Education will explore the very real issues and curiosities that many teenagers develop upon reaching a sexual awakening.

For instance, the trailer shows us Eric fully made up and decked out in women's clothing, and also teases that his relationship with his father may stand in the way of his genuine desires. And assuming Eric is the person seen punching that other student in the hallway, one could assume that dust-up was also related to Eric's non-curricular interests.

As well, viewers see Maeve dealing with some kind of a medical situation while in the hospital, which could be tied to a slew of different scenarios. Perhaps she's having an abortion following one regrettable night, or maybe she's going through the preliminary stages of getting some kind of sexual reassignment surgery. Or, if I may go out on a limb here, she might just have a really bad case of the flu.

I'll admit that most of my excitement for Sex Education was initially tied to Gillian Anderson's casting, since she tends to pick outstanding TV projects,such as The Fall and Hannibal, among many others. However, the full trailer has convinced me there will be much more to enjoy about the new Netflix series than just the actress' titillating dialogue.

After 7+ years of putting the undead out of everyone's misery on The Walking Dead, actress Lauren Cohan is jumping to broadcast TV in 2019 for the new series Whiskey Cavalier. Each new look at the slick and sexy caper dramedy cements its potential to be the first great show of the new year, and fans can check out one such new look below. In it, Cohan exudes all of the confidence of TWD's Maggie Greene, but with zero post-apocalyptic gloom.

As the unwavering CIA op Frankie "Fiery Tribune" Trawbridge, Lauren Cohan is perfectly suited to kick ass, take names and chew bubblegum all at the same time. As seen in the trailer, she's the most assuredly flawless person in the room 98% of the time, and is capable of making verbal and physical mincemeat out of those around her. That absolutely includes her anti-Casanova new partner, Will "Whiskey Cavalier" Chase, who is continuously having to contemplate Frankie's dangerously impulsive actions.

Scott Foley, who dealt with a fair share of no-holds-barred female characters during his run on Scandal, is a solid fit for Will Chase, since Foley always looks bemusedly content with being put in a tough spot. Audiences can expect to see plenty of those popping up in Whiskey Cavalier, which showed off a helicopter explosion, some fistfights, and a most awkward bedroom encounter between the lead characters.

Also along for the ride is Lauren Cohan's former Walking Dead co-star Tyler James Williams, who plays a rogue NSA analyst who has accumulated a wealth of highly classified information. I don't think we can consider his sexual tension assessment as coming from classified sources, though. He just calls 'em like he sees 'em, even if it means taking Frankie's sharp elbow to the chest.

The trailer below works as more of an introductory video, giving viewers the basic hook for both the narrative and the characters. Check out Whiskey Cavalier's super-team in action, noting there are some similarities between the promos.

To me, the editing makes this trailer feel like it's advertising a new movie, as opposed to an ABC series. Whiskey Cavalier does look like it had a suitable budget to pay for all the stunts and effects. (At least in the pilot.) That said, I'm not sure there's any amount of money that would convince Frankie to turn her faux marriage to Will into a real one, at least not this early in the show's run. Calling her "boo" might get somebody thrown out a bedroom window.

As was made pretty obvious by the promos, Whiskey Cavalier will mix up the spy caper and office comedy sub-genres, while sprinkling romantic undertones and overtones throughout. It takes just the right cast members to make such a tricky balance work, and it's easy to picture the show's tone getting derailed by a more limited-scope actress in Lauren Cohan's role. Thankfully, Cohan could play an alluringly determined badass in her sleep, so here's hoping the scripts can keep up with her.

While it's still unclear if or when Lauren Cohan could return to The Walking Dead after Maggie's initial exit, fans can find her on ABC for Whiskey Cavalier's series premiere, which airs on Wednesday, February 27, at 10:00 p.m. ET. With a release schedule that's largely kept under wraps, Netflix has been a perfect fit for the nerve-grinding UK series Black Mirror, which also keeps its details behind locked doors. The latest collaboration between the two is the upcoming feature-length special Black Mirror: Bandersnatch, which has been the subject of fandom rumors since it was first teased. Now, the official '80s-soaked trailer has been released, along with news that the extended episode will be released on Friday, December 28. Check it out!

Regardless of how many times Frankie Goes to Hollywood tries to tell me to relax during that trailer, it's almost impossible. Though I'm admittedly not 100% sure of everything that's happening in the promo, my nerves have been successfully rattled, and I don't think I'll be able to relax again until I've watched Black Mirror: Bandersnatch in its entirety...and then subsequently obsessing over it until the point of full enlightenment. Change your own life by watching.

Though nothing has been confirmed just yet, it appears as if Black Mirror: Bandersnatch could be the "Choose Your Own Adventure" installment that has been heavily rumored in the months leading up to new episodes. The game-based narrative, combined with the constant use of "Change" in the trailer's text, seemingly support this argument, though we can't be sure.

Let's use Netflix's official logline as to go deeper into the '80s-leaning promo.

Stefan, the young programmer at the digital heart of Black Mirror: Bandersnatch is played by Dunkirk breakout Fionn Whitehead, who looks quite distressed throughout the trailer's runtime. He apparently works for a computer gaming company run by Asim Chaudhry, with a uniquely coifed Will Poulter as his presumed supervisor, named Colin. Stefan is apparently on some kind of brain-related medication that he inevitably decides to stop taking, which is bound to have catastrophic results, right?

I mean, meds don't usually allow people to enter their own reflections, but maybe this was some strong shit.

For this unique one-off, the main characters are challenged with creating a playable adaptation of the dense novel Bandersnatch, as penned by author Jeremy F. Davies, who reportedly went a little batty and decapitated someone. It's clear that Davies' history will play a big role in this story, as he appears both in the videotape that Stefan watches, and in the book that he's reading. I always like a good mystery involving an outcast writer who seemingly lost his mind, so I have high hopes.

Speaking of that videotape, it appears to feature a visual element that's quite familiar to Black Mirror fans: that upside-down field goal post symbol that probably has an official name that I can't think of right now.

Beyond appearing on the "White Bear" masks, he symbol has shown up in other episodes as well, from "Black Museum" to "Playtest," with the latter also featuring the franchise's first "Bandersnatch" reference as part of a magazine cover. Will the symbol's meaning be explored, or will it remain another piece of enigmatic connective tissue tying all these episodes all together.

Careful viewers likely also noticed another major Black Mirror reference during the trailer. The moment when Asim Chaudhry's developer is talking to Stefan, the poster on the wall is for a game called Metl Hedd. That game wasn't a story point in any previous episodes, but its title and the four-legged bot on the cover are indeed a callback to the Season 4 black-and-white episode "Metalhead." It's definitely worth noting that David Slade was the director for both "Metalhead" and Bandersnatch, so we might very well see more easter eggs popping up.

Black Mirror: Bandersnatch will make its highly anticipated debut on Netflix on Friday, December 28, at 12:01 a.m. PT. Brooklyn Nine-Nine might not be back on our TVs in time for fans to celebrate Christmas with the dysfunctional P.D. crew, but the comedy series is sending out holiday joy with a new and surprisingly action-packed promo for Season 6. To show off its first season on NBC, Brooklyn Nine-Nine gave Andy Samberg a white T-shirt and threw all the stars (minus one) into a moodily lit homage to Die Hard. Check the explosive new video out!

I know what everyone is thinking: Brooklyn Nine-Nine has already been a full-on Die Hard homage since its earliest days, since Andy Samberg's Jake is exactly like Bruce Willis' John McClane in every single way. What separates this trailer from the norm is obviously that it takes place on a building's rooftop, which generally isn't a frequently used location on the show. Otherwise, though, those two projects are like twins.

On a more legitimate tip, Brooklyn Nine-Nine picked a great way to get fans hyped up for its Season 6 return. Die Hard fever always takes over once the winter season hits, and the debate can begin anew over the movie's distinction as a "Christmas film." Thankfully, Jake and the gang weren't invested in making this a holiday affair, and were more interested in showing off Jake flying away from an explosion in slo-mo. Definitely the better choice.

Alas, the trailer wasn't made to reveal that Brooklyn Nine-Nine is leaving the comedy behind to become a full-fledged action thriller when it hits NBC. The hectic helicopter hijinks were just a hypothetical pitch that Jake was unveiling to Captain Holt to use for the precinct's new recruitment video. Understandably, Holt wanted nothing to do with Jake's over-indulgent idea, fun as it was.

Strange that Jake would throw Terry under the bus by the end of the promo, though, when the far less useful Hitchcock and Scully are standing right behind him. Of course, it's more than possible that Terry gets paid more than those two bumbling detectives do, thus making his firing a more lucrative choice for Jake's video-budgeting plans.

Lots of Die Hard fun has gone down this year, which was the 30th anniversary of the original film's release. Fans can pensively look forward to the release of the sixth feature in the franchise, simply called McClane, once production kicks into high gear. The Goldbergs fans can also look forward to an upcoming episode honoring the action classic. Maybe one day, people will be paying respects to Brooklyn Nine-Nine will promo trailers like this, presumably with more pranks.

Jake, Amy and the rest will meet up again with their own version of Hans Gruber in Craig Robinson's Pontiac Bandit -- basically the same villain, right? -- when Brooklyn Nine-Nine debuts on NBC on Thursday, January 10, at 9 p.m. ET. Daniel Radcliffe has been rather fearless in selecting his Hollywood roles ever since wrapping up his time as Harry Potter on the silver screen. He seems to be keeping that trend of interesting roles alive with TBS' upcoming limited series Miracle Workers. Radcliffe will play an angel who has the ear of God, who will be played by the great Steve Buscemi. Check out a first look below!

It appears Miracle Workers is going to be more like Dogma than Touched By An Angel. (Too bad George Carlin isn't around.) Steve Buscemi's God appears to be caught up in the nuances of life, which likely complicates the job for Daniel Radcliff's angel Craig. He's meant to bring the urgent prayers of Earth's faithful to the creator's attention, which probably gets hectic.

God, unfortunately, appears more caught up in why humanity has opted to name weather events after anything other than the sounds they make. Such as "whooshy whooshy" instead of typhoon. It tracks.

This may be an early scene from Miracle Workers, as early descriptions of the TBS limited series said Daniel Radcliffe's angel Craig would be working to prevent the world's destruction in God's absence. Steve Buscemi's God is quite present here, at least physically, since his mind is on things other than prayers from those that request his divine intervention. Perhaps he needs to head to New Orleans and listen to some jazz music like God did in Preacher?

Steve Buscemi's role in Miracle Workers seems to work well, despite the seemingly chill and laid back God role belonging to Owen Wilson when the series was in development. Wilson exited the project for unknown reasons a year ago, which then led to Buscemi's casting. While we may never know what Wilson's portrayal would've looked like, Buscemi's interpretation of the deity looks to be one that audiences won't soon forget, especially opposite a wide-eyed and stressed Daniel Radcliffe.

Miracle Workers is a seven-episode anthology series from legendary Saturday Night Live showrunner Lorne Michaels. As it's an anthology, folks may only get one season with this Daniel Radcliffe and Steve Buscemi team-up, only to be sent on a new adventure for potential future seasons. Of course, past TV anthologies have often drawn from a similar stable of returning actors, so perhaps these two talented actors may be persuaded to stick around if Miracle Workers is a hit. (I wouldn't suggest praying in this case.)

His film work may be more recognizable to a mainstream audience, but one shouldn't discount Daniel Radcliffe's merits as a television actor. Radcliffe co-starred with Jon Hamm in the short series A Young Doctor's Notebook & Other Stories, which was a pretty solid romp from start to finish. Hopefully, Miracle Workers is more of the same and will encourage Radcliffe to have a go at more American television projects.

TV westerns are few and far between these days, but Paramount Network's Yellowstone sits squarely among recent efforts. Creator Taylor Sheridan, of Sons of Anarchy fame, is a genre fanatic through and through, having penned 2016's acclaimed feature Hell or High Water. In fact, Sheridan spearheaded the effort to get the rights for Clint Eastwood's "Claudia's Song" from Unforgiven, despite the fact that no one had gotten permission before. Here's how he put it in an exclusive behind-the-scenes clip.

But guess what? Regardless of anyone else's previous failed attempts, Taylor Sheridan's request was accepted and allowed. It appears the iconic Clint Eastwood took the consideration to heart and decided that both Sheridan and Yellowstone were genuine and authentic enough with intentions for "Claudia's Song," and he gave his ultra-rare permission for the track to be used in the series.

"Claudia's Song" shows up at the beginning of "The Remembering," which was Episode 6 in Yellowstone's freshman season. Taylor Sheridan, who wrote and directed all nine episodes, had to have felt pretty magnificent once he got the O.K. from Clint Eastwood to go forward with the scene, Unforgiven music fully intact. In the video, Sheridan also explained how important the song and the movie are for him.

One might presume that Taylor Sheridan would have found other conspicuous ways to honor Clint Eastwood and possibly other genre legends throughout Yellowstone had "Claudia's Song" not been authorized for use. Sure, his first directorial effort, 2012's Vile, was a horror film, and his first acting role was as Veronica Mars' Danny Boyd. However, he's gotten to show off his Western skills with Hell or High Water, 2017's Wind River (which he wrote and directed), and with Yellowstone. Here's hoping he continues doing such a great job, too.

Viewers are obviously in agreement that Taylor Sheridan knows what he's doing, with or without Unforgiven's iconic theme, which Clint Eastwood wrote with conductor Lennie Niehaus. Yellowstone has been a massive hit for Paramount Network, easily becoming one of the top new cable series of 2018. Averaging over 2 million viewers across its first season, and around a 0.4 demo rating, the Kevin Costner drama doubled its viewer totals and ratings for all but one episode when delayed viewing stats were tallied.

Yellowstone ended Season 1 back in August, but fans can pick up the DVD set in stores today. No one has to worry about its future, either, as Paramount Network renewed it for Season 2 just a month after it premiered. Everyone can look forward to seeing Arrow-verse vet Neal McDonough in Season 2 as another skeezy character who probably smiles too much.

Gotham's promotional lead-up to its fifth and final season has been quite the interesting one, with each video set a different point in the aftermath of Season 4's No Man's Land finale. The latest, at Day 151, hints at very Bane, er, big things going down thanks to one Jeremiah Valeska. Can we just please call him The Joker already?

While previous Season 5 trailers have been focused on other Gotham entities like Scarecrow's crucifixion crew and the hint of Batman hiding in the shadows. But here, Cameron Monaghan's standout villain is the focus, and boy, does his time get used wisely. Let's get obsessive by going over every frame, shall we?

First up is an overtly ominous shot of Jeremiah's face with his eyes closed. Meant to bring about memories of his dead(???) brother Jerome, perhaps? Or maybe it's meant to get viewers in the mindset that Jeremiah might not survive the duration of Season 5. Of course, it might just be the only shot of Jeremiah all season that evokes peace and silence.

Next, we have a shot of what looks like Jim Gordon hauling ass through an alley. That moment looks like it was filmed in P.O.V., and Jim looks like he's being chased, so I'm going with the assumption that Jeremiah is the one hunting the GCPD stalwart down.

Perhaps tellingly, the next shot is of Francesca Root-Dodson's Ecco, who serves as Jeremiah's creepy second banana. She looks to be getting a slightly larger role in Season 5, and we may see some of the character's more Harley-esque qualities emerge, even if she never gets the HQ tag. (I do need to hear her say "Mr. J," though.)

This map shot is possibly sign of just how much of an influence Jeremiah will have over Gotham City in its current state. I could try to go into detail about what sections are behind the eyes, and what that could mean, but really, I think it all amounts to one sentiment: Gotham City is boned.

The most substantial moment in the teaser promo hints at Alfred once again finding himself facing certain doom.He's just out and about on a road where people can be seen in the distance warming their hands over a trash fire that's in the middle of the street. There's no highly advanced Bat-tech needed to tell someone that particular situation is less than ideal.

Kudos to the editing here, as the moment where Jeremiah starts to rise up behind Alfred is pretty chilling. I'm hoping that moment subverts expectations and doesn't just set Bruce's trusted butler/enforcer up for another hostage situation. That said, I would be down for Bruce going through another intense hallucinatory journey in order to track Alfred down.

The fun caps off with the white-faced Jeremiah quoting the video's title, "Today's the big day." What's so special about the 151st day after Gotham City's bridges blew up? A special anniversary of some kind? Or has Jeremiah been working on something behind the scenes that is finally ready to be revealed? What else can he possibly do to cause more chaos in this cursed town?

With "Elseworlds," The CW's Arrow-verse is going harder than ever on giving fans remixed versions of the familiar heroes (and possibly villains). We've already been fairly creeped out watching Stephen Amell's Barry Allen locking lips with Iris, but Supergirl's first look at the big crossover offers up a more emotional twist. Check out how Kara's relationship with Alex is going to get complicated.

When I said complicated, I guess I really meant "eradicated," since Alex no longer seems to be feeling much of a kinship with her sis...new prisoner. This clearly has to do with the mysterious circumstances that set off the "Elseworlds" divergence, and isn't just Alex playing an April Fool's Day prank. (Supergirl just celebrated Thanksgiving, so April 1 is still a long ways away.)

In any case, this brief-but-powerful clip provides one of our first looks at how the "Elseworlds" storyline is going to affect the Supergirl characters. By all means, it's understandable why the creative team chose to strike up this imbalance between the non-biological sisters. As important as keeping Earth's citizens safe is to Kara, so is her connection with Alex, and any family ties she still has left.

When Alex swings that hand around all sarcastically like that, though, I can't help but think that Kara would briefly like to smack all that smugness right out of the room.

Beyond Kara and Alex, Superman will be swooping into the crossover chaos for the first time, so maybe he'll first be called in to break Kara out of her cell. Of course, that's assuming that Superman isn't on the same wavelength that Alex is, and that he'd even want to save her in the first place. Be a good cousin, bro.

Tyler Hoechlin's Man of Steel will also get to mix it up with The Flash and Green Arrow, among others, and he'll do at least some of it wearing the black Superman outfit, which looks pretty sweet. Acting opposite a real-life Superman threw The Flash's Grant Gustin for a loop, so we can probably expect things to go in some enjoyably bonkers directions. (And somehow without Legends of Tomorrow involved.)

While the exact details are still being shrouded in secrecy, it's been revealed that Jeremy Davies' John Deegan will be up to no good in Gotham City when he starts rewriting reality. He'll be the source of the "Elseworlds" spin on things, and his reach will apparently make it all the way to Earth-38 and presumably beyond.

The crossover is also giving us Lois Lane, Batwoman, more from Gotham City and only the Arrow-verse's powers that be know what else is on the way. Stay tuned for The Flash kicking "Elseworlds" off on Sunday, December 9, at 8:00 p.m., with Arrow and Supergirl following on successive nights.

When 2019 arrives, there will be reason to celebrate, but also reason to fear for the residents of the eternally doomed Gotham City. The fifth and final season of Gotham will arrive in full force, with Batman legitimately making his way to the Fox drama at some point. But first, the entire criminal underworld will come out for one last hurrah, which includes the introductions of Bane and a more Harley-fied take on Jeremiah's accomplice Ecco. Check it all out!

That may not be a proper Bat Signal shining into the clouds above Gotham City, but the light's introduction last season was certainly a tip of the hat to Batman's impending arrival. And it looks like Jim Gordon could use an extra pair of protective glove-wearing hands in reversing the "No Man's Land" arc that Jeremiah set up by destroying all of Gotham's bridges. Especially with a new chaotic force like Bane hitting the streets.

As portrayed by ER vet Shane West, Gotham's Bane may actually come across as a protagonist when he first enters the story. Though the comic' Bane has no identified alter ego, Gotham's Eduardo Dorrance was a friend of Jim's during their Army days. His arrival in Gotham City comes equipped with a squad of top-notch soldiers with the goal of bringing the city back to its former...glory?

In any case, unless Gotham flips the script and turns the villainous behemoth into a good guy, something will happen that makes Bane's greater-good efforts turn sour. Which, of course, will be less than ideal for Jim and Bruce and the other two or three people who want to actually help.

As seen in the trailer, though, there are way more people that want to bring Gotham City to its knees for one reason or another. Let's not forget just how dangerous and destructive Jeremiah has already been in his extremely short stint on Gotham already -- to say nothing of Jerome's own mayhem -- and he's got both helpers and hinderers popping up left and right.

Jeremiah's pal Ecco, portrayed by Francesca Root-Dodson, is changing her look anew, and is looking a lot more like Harley Quinn these days. What with the smeared lipstick, the eye black strip on her face, and outerwear that matches up with her color patterns.

As far as the other fan-favorite villains go, Gotham viewers will be in for a good time. The trailer gives us brief glimpses of both Penguin and Riddler, hopefully marking limited new arcs for the two former partners (in crime). As well, it's downright cheerworthy when Scarecrow pops up with his own army of mucky looking minions.

But beyond Bane, I believe this trailer has gotten me most excited to see what happens with Selina in Season 5. The young character has sharpened her claws in the criminal world, while also deepening her fractured relationship with Bruce, but there hasn't been that much happening on the cat front since she got mostly resurrected following her big fall. Could these glowing cat eyes be a sign of something new on the purr-izon?

With all of that happening, it's almost easy to forget that a Joker-esque Jeremiah also shows up, and that Bruce kicks some ass, and that Barbara is going to be a man-destroying force. We didn't forget, though, and neither will you.

Gotham, now running with the Season 5 tag "Legend of the Dark Knight," will debut on Fox on Thursday, January 3, at 8:00 p.m. ET. Before the 2019 midseason gets here, we still have lots of good shows left to premiere, so bookmark our fall TV premiere schedule to stay current.

Netflix has excelled at shows about food, conspiracies, and the supernatural, but there aren't many to be found about man's best friend. That may soon change when the streaming service premieres the adorbs upcoming series Dogs, which recently revealed its first trailer and November premiere date. Anyone unprepared for super-cute doggos and heartwarming stories should get ready, because this video may cause viewers to throw treats at the screens to reward these sweet and brave pups.

Dogs has quite a lot going for it, based on that trailer, and most of it incredibly heart-warming. There's also a tease of potential sadness when we see a dog trapped in a war-torn country, and the children with disabilities who need a four-legged companion. They're all stories that look riveting enough to attract even those who don't like dogs to tune in, although they may be dissuaded by the non-obscure title.

While Dogs will breach some "ruff" subjects, its Netflix description labels it as "inspirational journey" that explores the magical bond between dogs and humans. That hopefully means some of these sadder situations will get happy endings, although we have no guarantees that'll be the case. That said, each story is supposed to highlight the love that humans and dogs share, so we're optimistic there will be far more smiles than tears in the end.

This isn't the usual kind of overarching dog documentary series that focuses on the general skills and attributes of different breeds, as Netflix intends to deep dive into some fairly heavy stuff with Dogs. Specifically, viewers will get to watch six different stories from around the world that focus on the various bonds between dogs and their upright mates.

Each story of Dogs is helmed by an acclaimed director or two, with Glen Zipper having developed the project. Dogs boasts three Academy Award-winning filmmakers in Undefeated's T.J. Martin and Daniel Lindsay, as well as Music By Prudence's Roger Ross Williams. 16 Acres' Richard Hankin, who was involved in the disturbing, Emmy-winning true crime series The Jinx, was behind one installment, as was noted Jesus Camp director Heidi Ewing. Deliver Us From Evil's Amy Berg will also helm an ep, in addition to serving as an executive producer alongside Zipper.

While each of those director's noted projects dives into territory far removed and sometimes far darker than Dogs seems to be heading, there's no denying this is a smorgasbord of top talent. With an all-star lineup of noted documentary directors like this, Dogs is a series that fans of the unscripted genre won't want to miss. We're certainly excited, and now also somewhat worried that a dog will belchingly confess to a murder, what with that Jinx editor being involved.

Back in 2015, Netflix blew up the true crime genre with the powerful and captivating series Making a Murderer, which drew national attention to the Wisconsin murder of Teresa Hallbach and the convictions of accused murderer Steven Avery and his nephew Brendan Dassey. Get ready to dive back into those small town politics once more for Making a Murderer Part 2, the second season of the hit series that'll be hitting Netflix on October 19. You can check out the very first trailer below.

Perhaps it's because we're already aware of everything that went down in Season 1, as well as much of the courtroom aftermath that followed it, but the trailer for Season 2 was slightly less invigorating, slightly less frustrating and slightly less enjoyable to watch. Rather than vaulting over to a different murder case, filmmakers Laura Ricciardi and Moira Demos slid their hooks back into Steven Avery and Brendan Dassey for another enlightening look at the legal processes within small town America.

As seen in the trailer, Making a Murderer Part 2 will keep part of its focus on Kathleen Zellner, the newest wrongful conviction attorney to step in to defend Steven Avery. Zellner takes the place of the first season's defense team, made up of Dean Strang and Jerome Buting, and will be leading the charge to try and reverse the charges that Avery was slapped with. If she's successful, it would be the second time that Avery would get released from prison after having a wrongful conviction overturned. (He spent 18 years in prison after being wrongfully accused and arrested for sexual assault.)

Kathleen Zellner made a name for herself in the world of wrongful convictions, and she is possibly the best bet that Avery and the Making a Murderer team have of changing things. Assuming the filmmakers' beliefs about Avery and Dassey's innocence hold true, that is.

In the weeks and months following the release of Making a Murderer, fans could find updates popping up from national news media outlets, and viewers were not shy about making their opinions known to prosecutors like Ken Kratz. Several times, it seemed like Steven Avery and/or Brendan Dassey might have earned a successful appeal or retrial. Nothing permanent every happened on that front, but it didn't take long for Netflix to announce the follow-up season, knowing that its customers would be interested in keeping up with the complicated legal case. And we'll be doing just that later this month.

Remember to tune into Netflix on Friday, October 19, to watch the entirety of Making a Murderer Part 2. The DC Universe streaming service recently opened its virtual doors, with the introductory original series TItans set to introduce the comic supergroup in live-action for the first time. Meanwhile, Hulu is gearing up for the second season to its youth-skewing comic book drama, Runaways. Both of the superhero team series released new trailers today, with Runaways' being our first look at Season 2 and Titans' released with the announcement that Netflix will be its exclusive streaming home everywhere outside the U.S.. And we're putting the promos heads-to-heads in a Battle of the Trailers to see which show deserves more hype.

Titans

Let's start off with the second official trailer for DC Universe's Titans, a dark and gritty take on the fan-favorite comic squad, with Brendan Thwaites' Dick Grayson as a Detroit detective whose vigilante past can't stay buried for very long. The trailer above does a pretty solid job of showing off all the major heroes we'll be spending Season 1 with, along with each character's visually interesting elements, even if it doesn't show off a ton of new footage. It also plays up the balance between Dick's calm demeanor in his "real" life and the festering rage that gets release when he's out as Robin. Each time his fractured relationship with Bruce Wayne comes up in Titans conversations, I find myself getting more and more excited to find out what happened, which doesn't bode well for my judgment patterns.

Beyond Robin, Teagan Croft's Rachel Roth, who will later take on the alter ego Raven, is in need of help when Titans kicks off, and as it's hinted at in the trailer above, she has some freaky-ass demonic powers that are brought out by emotional stress. Then there's Anna Diop's alien princess Koriand'r, who comes to be known as Starfire for all of the blisteringly obvious reasons; it looks like Starfire is where Titans will really get to show off its CGI budget, as those moments in the trailer look absolutely gorgeous.

And then perhaps most promisingly, we have Ryan Potter's Garfield Logan, whose animalistic shapeshifting abilities earn him the moniker Beast Boy. It's quite possible the spritely hero will give Starfire a run for the CGI money with all of his transition scenes.

All in all, it's not entirely clear what Titans' narrative will actually be driving towards, beyond the fully realized superhero states of each of these characters. Like Robin, Alan Ritchson's Hank Hall and Minka Kelly's Dawn Granger appear to already be established as the crimefighting duo Hawk and Dove, but it's clear that Rachel will need to find a way to control her frightful powers, and Koriand'r will need to figure out a few things of her own. Still, I like everything we've seen so far. (And stay tuned for my full Titans review.)

Runaways

On the other side of the country are the ragtag group of powered teens collectively known as the Runaways, even though they technically didn't get into the whole running away process until the very end of Season 1. No matter, though, because they're definitely all living as transients when Season 2 kicks off, having left behind their evil-doing parents, who were discovered to be sacrificing teenagers for their own greater cause. The trailer introduces the group finding a new dino-friendly headquarters, and then delivers a super-sequence of the heroes in action.

And that's some quite colorful action, too. Few TV effects have been more breathtakingly beautiful than Virginia Gardner's Karolina in full-on glow-mode, and the shot of her and Lyrica Okano's Nico kissing should have its own auditorium light show. As well, Nico's magical staff is capable of creating its own visually splendrous mayhem, as is the return of Gert's pet Old Lace. Sure, Chase's Fistigons are badass, but more badass than a genetically engineered beast from a previous era? Nah.

As created by Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage, Runaways Season 1 was a slick and brooding origin story that was brimming with dark humor and flights of teenage fancy, which is exactly what was expected. And Season 2 looks to be upping the ante, since all the characters are fully aware of everyone else's situations when it kicks off. The trailer doesn't show all the much from the adult characters, which could be a sign that the Pride will start to take a backseat as other story elements from the comics come forth. Hopefully we'll see more development from Julian McMahon's demanding villain Jonah, who is trying to woo his daughter Karolina. Stay strong, girl!

The Doctor will be all out of sorts when Doctor Who Season 11 premieres on BBC America, so much so that she's forgotten her biggest change to date. A new clip from the Doctor Who's premiere, titled "The Woman Who Fell To Earth," features the time-traveling hero confused by her surroundings and shocked to be embodying a female form. We also get a peek at two of the show's newest companions in action, and both of also appear confused by their first encounter with the Doctor. Check it out!

The fact that the Doctor has been wandering around oblivious to the fact that she's now a woman is hilarious, and it's the type of obliviousness the character has been known to display from time to time. Her soon-to-be companions/friends Yasmin and Ryan are questionable about her behavior, of course, as they had no clue she was a "white-haired Scotsman" not that long ago. The Doctor moves on from the new info about her body changes rather quickly and is on to the next mystery as she presses through a locked train with Yasmin and Ryan searching for her name and, hilariously enough, a doctor.

One important revelation from the Doctor Who clip that slides right in there is that this regeneration only took place, by the Doctor's estimation, about 30 minutes ago. That explains the title of the Season 11 premiere "The Woman Who Fell To Earth," as the Season 10 finale showed Jodie Whittaker's Doctor literally falling out of the exploding TARDIS and into the night sky. Obviously we're wondering how she survived that fall, but perhaps more importantly, how did she find her way into that locked train car? That seems to be a mystery everyone should be concerned with, as others can be seen behind Yasmin and Ryan shortly before she chases after the Doctor to tell her not to interfere with what could be a possible crime scene.

Beyond the footage shown, we do know a little more about what to expect from Doctor Who's Season 11 premiere thanks to a previously released episode synopsis. The Doctor won't be the only person confused in this South Yorkshire town, as it was revealed there are some strange events happening around town. That's old-hat for the Doctor, of course, provided she can remember her name and past well enough to help solve whatever problem is plaguing everyone. The Doctor also may be wiped from the excessive amount of energy her body expelled for the regeneration, which often takes a toll on most new Doctors starting out. Hopefully, she's aware of that, since it would be bad news for the Doctor to drop out of commission in the heat of battle.

Doctor Who Season 11 will premiere on BBC America in a special simulcast scheduled for Sunday, October 7 at 1:45 p.m. ET. There will also be an encore showing later that day at the show's regularly scheduled time going forward, Sundays at 8:00 p.m. ET. Claire Underwood is taking over in House of Cards Season 6, and Netflix just gave us a good look at the second Underwood President's time in office. This latest trailer features eyebrow-arching drama, backroom deals, and a confidence-oozing Claire taking command of it all. We also get another mention of Frank's absence, and judging from the crowd's reaction in this new footage, he doesn't appear to be sorely missed.

The reign of at least one middle-aged white man in D.C. does appear to be over, as Claire mentions not long into the trailer that the Netflix Original's initial main character Frank Underwood is indeed dead and gone. The information isn't new, considering another video revealed that fact a few weeks back, but the tears that Claire cries not long after are quite new.

The prior video appeared to show Claire had zero love lost over her conniving husband's passing, seeing as how he threatened to kill her if he didn't receive a pardon in her televised address last season. It's possible Claire has mixed emotions about Frank's death. But then we see a scene shortly after where it's clear Claire is not above shedding a few crocodile tears and using his death to her advantage whenever possible. So maybe we'll get a better idea during the actual season whether her grief is genuine or completely fictional.

The new trailer also gave us a glimpse at Diane Lane and Greg Kinnear, who will play the sibling political duo Annette and Bill Shepherd. Bill mentioned to Claire that the Shepherds had a deal in place with Frank before she came into the picture, and she doesn't seem all that willing to make good on said deal. That might be a bad call on her part, considering the duo are one of those uber-rich families that have the money and resources that can make her Presidency very difficult. Although one disagreement here doesn't necessarily mean the parties can't reach an understanding at some point down the line.

Claire won't have to worry about just having one or two enemies in House of Cards Season 6, as it seems many in Washington are less than thrilled to have another Underwood in office. There's plenty of talk from characters about getting Claire out of the picture, and it's obvious her nerves are more than a little rattled by it all, judging by her limo flinching. Is someone in the political field trying to get Claire killed? It wouldn't be all that surprising for the show, especially if she's making as many waves as she appears to be in the trailer, although whoever potentially tried to take out a hit on the President clearly has no idea who they are dealing with.

House of Cards Season 6 arrives on Netflix on Friday, November 2, at 12:01 a.m. PT. It's just one of the many shows arriving this fall, so be sure to keep track of other things arriving over the next couple of months by visiting our fall premiere guide.

Marvel's Netflix dramas have been (mostly) winning fans over ever since Daredevil first debuted back in 2014, and now we're finally close to getting our third official season from the Man Without Fear. As it was hinted at in the previous teaser, Season 3 will give fans even more to cheer about in the form of Wilson Fisk's iconic white suit from the comics, which Vincent D'Onofrio's returning villain will at last get to pimp out. And no, he didn't forget to bring his cufflinks. Check it out!

That's right, the new promo wastes no time in getting to the Kingpin of the situation by starting off right on those magnificent square cufflinks, which presumably sent a jolt of excitement down fans' spines. The black shirt came close to throwing me off, too, but then he popped that shimmering white jacket on and started buttoning it, and I may have accidentally fist-pumped my coffee mug right off of my desk. Cody Crump's "Burn" isn't exactly the most high-energy tune to have set the teaser to, but it imparts the proper mysterious and melancholy mood that Daredevil adheres to well.

After two seasons -- well, one and a half, since Fisk's Season 2 stint was limited and mostly kept to Frank Castle's jail time -- the stout villain seemed destined to finally get his comic-ready outfit going this year, and thank goodness it's happening. Since, you know, TV bad guys don't usually have this kind of extended shelf life, especially comic book baddies. So while nothing has been confirmed one way or the other about the future, I can't imagine that Vincent D'Onofrio's Wilson Fisk will continue to be a major Netflix heavy for future Daredevil seasons. I certainly hope so, of course, because he's a beast.

Kingpin's white suit was teased recently in the first Daredevil Season 3 video that came out, which also featured Matt Murdock's blood-stained face. (Seriously, I get slight anxiety from watching this footage, with every one of my instincts yearning to wipe his upper lip with a wet rag.) It's assumed that Fisk's own hands will be responsible for putting some of that blood on Matt's face, but who else will the thought-dead hero face in Season 3? Will we definitely get to see Bullseye? Will Matt have to do battle with Karen and Foggy after they find out he's still alive? Will we ever see Rosario Dawson's Claire Temple on this show again? Can I borrow that white suit? All the questions!

There's only a few more weeks to go until we get to see that white suit (and Matt's old black mask get-up), with Daredevil Season 3 set to debut on Netflix on Friday, October 19, at 12:01 a.m. PT. With just three episodes left in Better Call Saul Season 4, fans are gearing up to see just how thick the compounding drama will get. One absolutely inevitable conflict that's destined to go down soon is the one brewing between Mike and the disobeying German demolition expert Kai (played by Ben Bela Böhm). And in the exclusive clip below from the upcoming episode "Coushatta," it looks like Kai will get on Mike's last nerve after making a scene at a gentleman's club. Check it out!

First, are we all in agreement that Kai should have accidentally blown himself up with dynamite years ago? I mean, I know this is a TV show written by people who want to extract specific emotions and reactions, and the immaturity-oozing Kai feels scientifically crafted to burrow impossibly deep into the aggravation sector of our brains. He barely has to do anything at all to provoke such intense disgust, too, since we don't even need to see what got him kicked out of the club. All I need to see is him defying Mike with sassy backtalk, and my temper starts flaring.

Sure, Kai hasn't been watching and half-fearing Mike for the past four Saul seasons, on top of his years from Breaking Bad, so Kai can be temporarily forgiven for his juvenile behavior. But he definitely should have taken an infinite number of hints by now, considering how many months Werner Ziegler's crew has been working on the superlab's construction. To the point where no amount of booze or strippers should be able to influence his manners. But no, people like Kai will always be around to draw out every last speck of ire within those around.

Of course, the clip above doesn't guarantee that Mike will get to "take care" of Kai in any kind of crowd-pleasing fashion, even though star Jonathan Banks told CinemaBlend he would have personally put an end to Kai's insolence right quick. I joked with Banks about the setbacks of having to fictionally oversee a bunch of shitheads like Mike is, and his feelings for the German worker were all too amusingly clear.

Though I knew Jonathan Banks wouldn't be able to go into detail about Mike and Kai's tension coming to a head, I still had to throw that question out there. Along with asking how he would have taken care of it. And here's what he said.

With a little luck and some goodwill from the Better Call Saul writers, viewers may very well see Kai taking a long dirt nap before Season 4 comes to a presumably bitter end. It would be kind of awesome if Kai ended up getting buried in the ground beneath the superlab, even if it never gets referenced again. Just for all the warm feelings that memory would inspire whenever Breaking Bad gets to introducing the underground setting, (complete with more Gale). Or, alternately, if Gus got to blow up half of Kai's face, for foreshadowing reasons.

Supernatural is heading back for its 14th season, and the series is teasing that the archangel Michael wasting no time in making use of his new vessel, a.k.a. Dean's body. Fans have been bracing for a season that will begin without Jansen Ackles' Dean, and this Season 14 trailer gives us all a peek at exactly how that will go down. While it is a brief teaser, it gives fans a lot of mysterious moments to ponder until the show's return. Check it out below:

While Dean himself is absent in the trailer, his bodily appearance is not, which means that Jensen Ackles will be getting a chance to have some fun embodying a totally different character for a while. Supernatural's showrunner Andrew Dabb recently teased the season's dynamic is getting upended, given that the core relationship between Sam and Dean will not be present at the beginning of Season 14. That does not mean Sam and company are giving up on getting the elder Winchester back, of course.

In the meantime, Michael is heading around wreaking what appears to be quite a bit of havoc, as well as meeting up with the angel Anael, played by Jensen Ackles' real-life wife, Daneel Ackles. In the teaser, Jack makes it clear to Castiel that Michael has to be stopped, even if Dean has to die to make it happen. Of course, we all know that cannot occur, so everyone will have to somehow find a way to get rid of Michael without killing Dean. While it may seem an impossible task as Season 14 gets underway, the tall order will simply have to be filled.

Supernatural without Dean Winchester is tantamount to turkey without gravy. It's not a party without both brothers together. Thankfully, the Wayward Sisters will be around in Season 14 to hopefully help that along. Supernatural's showrunner previously confirmed that the characters from the vetoed spinoff will be organically drawn into the upcoming season's story while tying into Michael's storyline. While Sam seems a bit downtrodden about any hope surrounding saving Dean, Michael should not be hard to track down. He is rocking a full suit replete with a flat cap, which isn't exactly Dean's sense of style.

Supernatural is in for an intriguing season, and despite climbing towards its mid-teens, the show is still finding organic storylines to explore. The premiere is not too far off, and in the meantime, viewers will hopefully get an even more extended look at the upcoming season.

Before long the new season will be upon us! Supernatural Season 14 premieres on Thursday, October 11, at 8 p.m. ET on The CW. The veteran horror series is among a plethora of new programming set to arrive on The CW, along with other series coming this fall.

When Daredevil Season 2 went down all those ages ago, the Punisher didn't have his own show yet, the Defenders hadn't teamed up yet, and everybody was still wondering if Thanos was actually going to affect the MCU or not. Heading into Season 3, all that has changed, but things are looking very much the same for Matt Murdock, both in terms of his old school black hood and his blood-covered face. Check out the first look teaser below, which confirms Season 3 will be released on Netflix on Friday, October 19. Enjoy!

Surprisingly, Marvel and Netflix decided to drop Daredevil on fans just over a month after Iron Fist Season 2 was released. At some point, we knew some of these Marvel show releases were going to start overlapping, given how many there are, so we've got zero complaints. And we've also got zero blood dropping down our chins, which can't be said for one Matt Murdock, as evidenced by just about every shot of him in the promo.

When Season 3 kicks off, Hell's Kitchen won't have a Daredevil to rely on, since Matt will still be dealing with the devastating aftermath from the Defenders finale, which basically left him for dead in everyone's minds. But he's clearly still among the living, and he's looking to beat the crap out of some of those other living creatures, even though we're not quite sure who they are yet.

As well, the promo only shows Matt in his traditional lawyer-ly get-up, with the suit and tinted glasses, or in the homemade vigilante garb. There are no signs of his signature costume, which raises suspicions about what happened to his suit after he went M.I.A. on the world. Is Karen hugging it to fall asleep at night? Or maybe she's using it as a dartboard/living room rug. Things didn't end too pleasantly between them. Or between him and Foggy. Or between him and Elektra. Say, something tells me this Matt guys isn't great with personal relationships. In any case, this new post possibly hints at the "real" Daredevil putting both feet in the grave for Season 3.

Considering Matt ended up at a certain nunnery in The Defenders' finale, fans are pumped to see how the live-action series will handle introducing the character's mother Margaret Murdock, who was a very important figure in the comics. She probably won't be the one responsible for bashing Matt's face in, but they might very well come to blows before it's all said and done.

It wasn't long ago when the Daredevil Season 3 release date got inadvertently revealed via an international Netflix Twitter account, but fans weren't quite sure if that information would turn out to be legitimate for U.S. audiences. Well, it did, and we have slightly less than a month to wait!

So mark it on a calendar, whether in marker or in Braille, and remember Daredevil Season 3 will premiere on Netflix on Friday, October 19, at 12:01 a.m. PT. Doctor Who has released a new trailer for Season 11, and we're once again given a glimpse of Jodie Whittaker in action as the new Doctor ahead of the sci-fi show's return. Our latest look at the upcoming season is a real blast of excitement, although diehard fans will almost certainly notice this trailer lacks the elements we're used to seeing in Doctor Who trailers.

The Doctor Who trailer has loads of action, lots of shots of Jodie Whittaker and her "friends," (not companions), and an uplifting vibe that might make one forget that there was anything else to include in there. So that's something of a good sign, at least, and my enthusiasm for Whittaker's Time Lord remains high.

However, the TARDIS is once again nowhere to be seen, unless it's meant to be represented by the interior of that white and blue ship everyone is standing in about midway through the trailer. That's doubtful, though, thanks to a leak that revealed the iconic ship's re-designed main room. So it might instead be that brown spaceship that appears in quite other moments few scenes in this trailer. Is it possible this vehicle is a temporary ship for the team to get around in while the TARDIS is elsewhere, possibly being rebuilt?

Anything seems to be possible in regards to Doctor Who Season 11, as new showrunner Chris Chibnall has gone on a timey-wimey-wampage by changing up nearly everything familiar from previous seasons of Doctor Who. That includes bypassing well-known foes for introducing new villains, which themselves are nowhere to be found in this trailer. (Minus maybe that weird wire ball The Doctor spots moving along a ceiling, since it could have foul intentions.) The rampant action and running displayed by The Doctor and her friends imply they'll have plenty to run from in Season 11, even if we can't see what it is. And the space scenes, on top of the synopsis for Episode 2, "The Ghost Monument," indicate there will be interspace travel as well. Read it below.

We've also learned what will be happening in the Season 11 premiere as the synopsis for "The Woman Who Fell To Earth" has Jodie Whittaker's Doctor largely out of sorts, meeting companions/friends Ryan Sinclair, Yasmin Khan and Graham O'Brien in South Yorkshire city, where she'll attempt to help them battle whatever weirdness is happening in the town. That may not go as smoothly as things usually go for The Doctor, as the description adds she's got a bit of amnesia and has forgotten her own name. In other words, it sounds like viewers aren't going to be the only ones experiencing a "soft reboot" in the season premiere!

The official trailer for Netflix's new horror series The Haunting of Hill House has arrived, and it is pretty nightmare-inducing. Prospective viewers can get an eyeful of the upcoming TV adaptation of Shirley Jackson's 1959 novel, plus a much closer look at Carla Gugino's lead character and a much better understanding of her backstory. Proving why haunted mansions are always horrifying, here is the trailer for The Haunting of Hill House:

Lots of eerie moments punctuate the trailer, which hints at many mysteries within Hill House's walls. Such as if the children at the beginning are reciting something they already know is going to happen, or if Hill House knows what they fear and therefore makes it their reality. Maybe that's digging a little too deep? What we do know is that the younger kids seen in the first look images are the children of Carla Gugino's character, and it also appears that Henry Thomas is playing their dad.

It also seems as though Gugino's character never ages, which could mean she is a ghost or the victim of some curse, or that her storyline only takes place in one timeline, with others explored elsewhere. The trailer seems to hint that Game of Thrones' Michiel Huisman and Emerald City's Oliver Jackson-Cohen are playing the grown-up versions of the younger boys. This all a theory, though. Let's get to the trailer's standout moments to which there is more definitive room to talk.

Even in just the trailer alone, you can feel the essence of Oculus and Gerald's Game director Mike Flanagan's handy work. Having helmed those unsettling flicks, as well as Netflix's non-supernatural thriller Hush, Flanagan was a great choice to take on The Haunting of Hill House as series creator and helmer. While we can't speak to the storytelling yet, the visuals are vibrant with a constant fright factor. The little kids describing that terrifying nightmare at the beginning is perhaps the most chilling moment, and it resonates throughout the trailer with a prickly feel.

The hand reaching underneath the bed at the 1:24 mark is particularly disturbing, calling back to all those signature nightmares about something being underneath the bed. Or having to hide under the bed only to have an ominous figure look underneath, as is seemingly shown in the trailer. All in all, this is one creepy promo that is bound to get horror fans enthused for the show's debut.

For a bit of background, The Haunting of Hill House tells the tale of five siblings who grew up in the most famous haunted house in America. Suffice it to say; it does not go well for all involved. Unfortunately, this family never got the memo that moving into a slightly dilapidated mansion seldom ends well. Here's hoping the first season nails the ending, though.

The wait until our first visit is much shorter than it used to be. Prepare to get your scare on when The Haunting of Hill House arrives on Netflix just in time for Halloween, on Friday, October 12. In the meantime, there are lots of fall premieres to keep you busy, including those on the streaming giant itself.

Whenever Netflix stepped up to take control of the Chilling Adventures of Sabrina TV adaptation, which was originally expected to join its comic book sister property of Riverdale on The CW, it spoke to the material potentially being far more adult and horrific than anything allowed on broadcast networks. And while the supernatural drama's first trailer below doesn't max out on gore and sex, there are dark forces at play here, and Kiernan Shipka's Sabrina Spellman is keen to keep smiling right through it all, no matter how weird or disturbing. Check it out below!

The trailer plays up the previously released image of Sabrina lit up by her birthday cake candles, and where the poster gave Sabrina a pair of demon horns, we see the demon here as an entirely separate entity, although one that may still actually be quite comfortable within the confines of the teenager's mind. After all, Sabrina is going through some biological changes that open her up to the practice of witchcraft and sorcery, and those feelings would certainly be comparable to suddenly having a hellspawn as a new mental bestie. So we can probably expect her to have a ton of new and weird feelings rearing their awkward heads as she continues her education at Baxter High.

Something tells me this sumbitch would not be Baxter High's most lauded English teacher. Or history teacher. Or coach.

Lots of fast and fun details pop up during the promo, such as the sign for the Spellman Mortuary owned by Hilda and Zelda Spellman, as portrayed by Lucy Davis and Miranda Otto, respectively. Sabrina has a lot to learn from her aunts, even if some of it may not be to her liking. (Unfortunately, the aunts themselves apparently skipped out on attending that part of the birthday party.) But we definitely do see Tati Gabriell as the witch leader Prudence, and we get a small glimpse of Ross Lynch as Sabrina's love interest Harvey, who will presumably be a tad less goofy in live-action. I guess it's easy to not be goofy when a Beelzebub understudy is sitting at the head of the table. Or isn't sitting at the head of the table, depending on whether Sabrina is loopy or not.

And while the trailer may not be as lengthy and plot-heavy as fans may have hoped, it does end on a moment that no doubt had plenty of people hooting and hollering (and possibly purring), as the promo teased the 2018 introduction of Sabrina's beloved pet cat Salem, who also happens to boast the ability to talk. Unfortunately, it was only a shadow-cloaked Salem who walked out just as the date was shown, so we didn't actually get to see the talking feline carrying on any deep convos with his owner about the weird shit happening in town. We know he'll be around, and we hope he gets his voice back before the show starts up in earnest.

This Is Us has released a first look at its ambitious Season 3, and with the new promo came a surprising revelation. Midway through the video, we see scenes of The Big Three's 38th birthdays, and Kate seemed to reveal where her and Toby's story will be going next. In blowing out the candles on what looks to be a veggie tray fashioned into a birthday cake, Kate revealed her wish this year is for a baby. Check out the video!

Kate is hoping to try again for a child with Toby, which follows the miscarriage storyline the characters had before their wedding at the end of Season 2. It's a bit weird for Kate to be making that announcement in the midst of a birthday party, especially given the superstition that openly talking about one's wish can lead to it not coming true. Whatever the context of the situation may be, the announcement looks to have hit Toby like a ton of bricks; when Kate is seen storming away from her shocked husband, she's wearing the same outfit from the birthday scene, so it's likely they had a talk about the situation in between those edits.

This potential revelation adds to the context of that This Is Us finale flash-forward, which showed Toby a year into the future, curled up in a bed and sobbing. It's possible Toby's emotional state may be tied to his and Kate's efforts to have a child. This could mean Kate's road to a new pregnancy may not be as simple she'd hoped it would be, and that the two are headed towards a lot more drama and hardship down the road. Unless the pregnancy and delivery were successes, and he's just freaking out over the stresses of being a new father.

Having said that, it's also entirely possible Toby's breakdown is unrelated to the couple's attempt to have another child. After all, Toby's mother revealed in Season 2 of This Is Us that he's been in a funky state like that before, which seems to allude to an underlying and potentially undiagnosed reason his emotions are out of whack. That's further backed up by Kate's conversation with Toby in the flash-forward, in which she says she spoke with his doctor about switching up his medications.

With Kate's intention to have a child possibly crossing paths with Toby's breakdown, it will be interesting to see how things evolve for them in Season 3. The couple has had their fair share of issues in the past, although cooler heads always prevailed as they worked things out sooner than later. The clock is ticking down for Kate's prime window for childbirth, however, and with Toby going through his own personal issues, one has to wonder how long she'll be willing to wait to delay her birthday wish.

It feels like eons now since we've gotten to sit down for a new episode of True Detective, with HBO and creator Nic Pizzolatto taking some time in putting Season 3 together after the lackluster response to Season 2. Now, though, we finally have our first look at the new season, which features House of Cards and Luke Cage star Mahershala Ali as the titular investigator leading a stacked cast. While not a full-blown trailer, this promo offers quite a few hints for the dark and upsetting mystery on the way, which will debut in January 2019. Check it out!

In True Detective Season 3, Mahershala Ali plays Wayne Hays, a state police detective hailing from Northwest Arkansas who got wrapped up in a case of two missing children back in 1980. And it looks like the idea of losing a child is going to play heavily into the season, given how many shots we get of kids in the trailer, from the waving and bike-riding town children to Wayne giving his own children a highly emotional embrace. It's not clear if something horrifying is going to happen to either of them, but we do know that Justice League's Ray Fisher is playing son Freddy Burns, without a sign of who is playing the daughter. As such, I'm not so optimistic about her fate.

I must say, as often as the whole "cutting words and letters out of magazines" tactic has been used in kidnapping tales over the years, it never stops creeping me out in certain ways.

Understandably, the trailer offers no real sign about whether True Detective is going to offer its central characters any resolution for the central crime(s). To the contrary, viewers can expect to see the events behind that missing child case to carry on for years. And it doesn't just weigh heavy on Wayne's shoulders, either, as fellow Arkansas State Investigator Roland West (Stephen Dorff) also finds his career influenced by the disturbing crime. As well, Scoot McNairy's Tom and Mamie Gunner's Lucy play parents of the missing children, which also alters the path of their futures significantly.

It looks like Wayne is going to be suffering over his and others' actions for quite a while after the case's initial conclusion, as evidenced by the flash-forwards in time to when his hair has gone gray.

But is he fretting because the case went unsolved? Or because the wrong person may have been blamed for the kidnappings? Is it indeed because something happened to one of his own children? If the latter is true, that might provide some justification for Wayne having somebody bound and gagged in his car trunk, since that isn't known to be proper police procedure under any circumstances.

Just as important as some of the imagery that we got to see, the True Detective trailer finally unveiled when fans will get to watch Season 3 on HBO, with January 2019 as the release window. So stay tuned for what will hopefully be another white-knuckle trip into small-town mayhem, and in the meantime, our fall TV premiere schedule will clue everyone in on what'll be showing up in primetime in the meantime.

Fox is known for being a network that plays faster and looser with its comedic ethics than others. Such pointed playfulness is on display in the latest promo for Last Man Standing's first season on Fox, which features several gags where Tim Allen takes aim at former network ABC over cancelling the popular sitcom in the first place. Though I guess it's up to the viewer to judge just how playful it really is. Check it out!

While perhaps not the most bloodthirsty insults that could have come from Last Man Standing's creative team, the promo-friendly jabs at ABC were still savage enough. And one has to wonder how quickly those moments were written up after Fox first announced it had ordered up Season 7, knowing that a splashy way to establish oneself on a new network would be by throwing the old one under the bus.

For those who didn't watch, the first promo segment featured a befuddled Kyle asking why anyone would cancel a TV show so beloved by the masses, to which Tim Allen's Mike walks in and replies that they might just be "a bunch of idiots." Certainly that was an opinion shared by tons of petition-signing Last Man Standing fans who were enraged after the show's surprising cancellation last year. But it's another thing when the show's star and executive producer is voicing those barbs within the context of the show itself.

Talking to Vanessa, Mike points out that he thinks everything is way better on the new network. But that opinion will need to wait a little longer to find others to share it, since the season has yet to kick off at its new home. Even beyond taking shots at ABC, these Fox promos also seem to be very optimistic that the audiences that tuned in for the first six seasons' episodes will automatically be returning for Season 7.

Specifically in the second one, when the Baxter parents are called out of the woods by "million of strangers" to come back, it's clear that Fox is confident in how well Last Man Standing will do in the same Friday night timeslot it used to air in. In its later seasons, the comedy was bringing in between 5-7 million viewers for its live viewings, and earned around a 1.0 demo rating. But it would often surpass those numbers to drive its yearly averages up, especially when delayed viewing came into play. So if Fox can manage to bring in the majority of those former viewers, the network could be looking at one of its most-watched comedies in years.

New and old viewers will be in for some changes, too, with new actors stepping in to fill the roles of Mandy and Boyd. As well, the show will introduce a new character into the Baxter home that will have a big impact on Vanessa. But almost everything and everyone else will stay the same.

As the summer months are coming to a close, there's much excitement to be had about going back to school, about sports, about the approaching Oscar season, and more. For Marvel TV fans, it means Netflix's impending release of Iron Fist Season 2, which has finally released its first full-length trailer. It's full of solid fight choreography that almost already puts Season 1 to shame, and the trailer also hints at how Season 2 big bad Davos may have gotten his red-fist powers on the way to becoming Steel Serpent. Check it out!

As the trailer immediately shows, Danny Rand has not been settling back and resting on cash piles in the aftermath of The Defenders. He has been busy as hell trying to keep New York City safe, all while improving his battle skills, both of the general variety and of the glowing fist kind. And he's not alone, with Colleen taking things up a notch in her own ways. She might want Danny to find his own inner peace, but she knows that wars are afoot, so she's got her own skills to keep sharp. And boy, are they.

Along with more looks at the traditional yellow Iron Fist mask, the newest element introduced in the trailer was still a familiar one, as Sacha Dhawan's Davos enters the limelight as the big Season 2 antagonist, and his power-filled evolution to comic book alter ego Steel Serpent was brought up big-time in the trailer, with the snake logo popping up as a tattoo on Davos' back as he appears to be trying to sap Danny of his powers. And going from that moment, it's assumed that Davos' red-fist powers have something to do with the rotted-out corpse of that other K'un-Lun warrior that's shown.

I'll be looking forward to watching Danny and Davos brawl across New York, above ground and underground and maybe even underwater. (Probably not.) I'm sort of picturing a lightsaber-esque scenario with the two using their colored fists to beat the crap out of one another. I'm more interested in seeing Colleen and Misty partner up to whoop up on some criminals, but this red has an uncanny effect on me.

Coming in at just ten episodes, Iron Fist Season 2 will make its debut on Netflix on Friday, September 7, at 12:01 a.m. ET. So be sure to tune in to see how the sophomore efforts compare to the previous ones. (I loved Danny's appearance in Luke Cage Season 2, so I'm hopeful.) Sadly, there just aren't as many buddy comedies on TV as there used to be, but WGN America's Carter is thankfully here to continue proving the subgenre's worth. For instance, below is an exclusive clip from Carter's second episode, titled "The Astronaut & The Lion King," which features Jerry O'Connell's actor-turned-sorta-detective and Kristian Bruun's Dave putting on a classic bit of farce involving a locked safe. To be expected, Harley has a little trouble distinguishing real life from his TV past. Check it out!

Jerry O'Connell has plenty of dramatic roles in his past, but I think most of us would agree that he's pretty perfect for just about every comedic role that has come his way. And as this clip proves quite well, O'Connell excels at playing dudes who are a couple of shades dimmer than others around them, with Harley Carter serving as a splendid mix of schoolboy eagerness and stereotypical Hollywood naiveté. I mean, this is a dude who really thought that airborne cinnamon would adhere to a safe's keypad, revealing the numbers used for the code. (You can't believe everything you see on TV...or anything you act in on TV.) Not a lot of actors can pull off a moronic move like that so successfully.

Not that we only have to talk about Jerry O'Connell's thespian skills. In the clip, Harley and Dave are unsuccessfully trying to break into the safe of Pete Conrad, as played by Defiance's Douglas Nyback, who makes a last-second appearance to hold the guys up at gunpoint. Somehow, I don't think Pete is going to surrender with his hands behind his back, so here's hoping Harley has more spice containers around to chunk at Pete's head.

As one of WGN America's newest original series, Carter takes place in North Bay, hometown to TV actor Harley Carter, who returned to his old stomping ground to decompress after having a public meltdown. There, he teams with childhood friends Dave and Sam (with the latter played by Sydney Poitier Heartsong) to try and solve real life cases, relying heavily on the only-sometimes-legitimate tricks he picked up while playing a detective on television. In Episode 2, the trio will get tasked by an emotionally troubled superfan with reopening a unsolved murder that went down at a paint factory that burned down years previous. Dun-dun-dunnn!

Jerry O'Connell is having a great year in TV. Not only did he return to Billions and Drunk History, but he also joined the Big Bang Theory family as Sheldon's older brother George, and could possibly return there when the CBS sitcom comes back. But no need to wait on that to see O'Connell cracking audiences up, since Carter has that all taken care of. (O'Connell also killed it in The 5th Quarter's Frank Cushman short, as well as in Adult Swim's Cool Dad trailer infomercial.)

With the summer movie season now starting to wind down following the release of movies like Mission: Impossible - Fallout and The Meg, the time has come to look ahead to the more prestigious time of the year. Studios have begun selling their potential Oscar films, and Universal's Green Book looks like it could be a major contender in that category. In fact, a trailer for the movie has hit the web, and it features some powerhouse performances from Moonlight's Mahershala Ali and Captain Fantastic's Viggo Mortensen. Check it out, below, to see the first look at the film for yourself!

We weren't kidding when we noted that it looked powerful, were we? Based on a true story, Green Book centers on a rough-around-the-edges white mob enforcer (Viggo Mortensen) tasked with driving a world-class black pianist (Mahershala Ali) through the American south during the height of the Civil Rights movement in the early 1960s. Though they initially know very little about each other at the beginning of the journey, they eventually learn to work together and understand their respective struggles.

One of the most interesting elements of the development and production of Green Book is the talent that has signed on to bring it to life. Specifically, the film has enlisted Peter Farrelly to direct, which is a major change of pace for the filmmaker. Farrelly is mostly known for gross-out comedies like Dumb & Dumber, and There's Something About Mary, so for Green Book to get him to jump genres like this could potentially indicate that there's something very special lurking in this story.

Of course, it is impossible to address the story of Green Book without homing in on the fact that it seems to tackle some serious issues of race and bigotry. These topics have become particularly fertile ground for movies to explore. In recent years we have seen films like Get Out, Straight Outta Compton, and Loving (to name a select few) achieve critical and commercial success by taking unflinching approaches to these topics, and Green Book could do the same for 2018. Couple that with the fact that Green Book is lined up to hit theaters in November (which is prime time for films to bait The Oscars), and it becomes clear that Universal may have a potential winner on its hands for the most prestigious time of the year in the movie world.

Arrow's Season 6 finale ended with Oliver locked up in prison, but he's not the only one stuck in circumstances that are less than ideal. With Oliver in the clink, Felicity will have to step up as William's mother, sole household breadwinner, and leader of what remains of Team Arrow. It's actually a situation not entirely unlike what Iris faced between Seasons 3 and 4 of The Flash, when Barry was stuck in the Speed Force. CinemaBlend's Nick Venable spoke to Emily Bett Rickards at San Diego Comic-Con about how more Arrow-verse crossovers on a smaller scale could be beneficial for Felicity in the next season:

If anybody has input that could be helpful to Felicity after losing Oliver to prison, it would have to be Iris. While Barry is the Scarlet Speedster and star of The Flash, Iris emerged as leader in the fourth season, and she knows what it's like to love a hero who gets himself into messes on a regular basis. The two ladies are friends, and their relatable circumstances would make it only logical for Felicity to call her up for help. Honestly, I'd be game to see Felicity just calling up Iris to vent. The Arrow-verse may be comprised of many Earths, but there's not so much distance on Earth-1 that shows like Arrow and The Flash can't pull off quickie crossovers every now and then.

The mini crossovers that have happened have certainly been fun. Felicity visited Central City for Iris' bachelorette party (that was unfortunately crashed by Katee Sackhoff's character), and Diggle has dropped by Central City a few times, including a memorable venture to deal with King Shark on behalf of ARGUS. Who can forget the scene in The Flash Season 1 when Oliver took a break from his role as Ra's al Ghul's heir to help Barry and Firestorm battle Reverse Flash? Crossovers don't need to be gigantic extravaganzas dealing with time-traveling villains or Nazis from another Earth. Let's have the super-friends hanging out and chatting from time to time!

Emily Bett Rickards was joined by Arrow costar Echo Kellum in pitching some fun and harmless miniature crossovers for the future Arrow-verse, saying this:

I'm not sure that we'll ever get portions of Arrow or Flash episodes featuring game nights or pizza parties without the fun being suddenly interrupted by flying bullets or party-crashing supervillains, but maybe this could be fun fare for a web series. Arrow and The Flash film on some of the same sets (as is evident by the clear similarities between the Star City Jitters and the Central City Jitters); why not pop a character or two over to hang with another team, even if only for a quick video? I would watch that.

Only time will tell. Another big Arrow-verse crossover extravaganza is in the works for December, although it will be missing one of the four Arrow-verse shows. Batwoman will make her debut in the crossover, and we've come up with a big theory (with some help from Stephen Amell) about how she should be introduced. Arrow, The Flash, and the other Arrow-verse shows will return this fall in The CW's shuffled lineup, which you can find here. Our summer TV guide is worth a look as well.

Julia Roberts is heading to the small screen in a couple of big ways, and fans have been eager to see any footage related to one of her two upcoming television projects. Amazon has obliged by dropping the first trailer for Homecoming, which looks to be a drama that's both creepy and captivating in equal doses.

"Captivating" perhaps isn't typically a word used to describe a 43-second trailer that's jam-packed with establishing shots and a single, teensy line of dialogue, but that just goes to show the potential that Homecoming has. Julia Roberts is, of course, an iconic actress with the ability to turn any small line into something so much larger and her presence is only elevated by director Sam Esmail, who created the highly acclaimed Mr. Robot. Together the two rocked this trailer full of somewhat normal events, and created a level of tension that will certainly pique the interest of streaming audiences.

What's most impressive is that Homecoming creates this ominous tone using little more than some empty space and a Radiohead song. There are other subtle touches, of course, like the phone off the hook and the voids within these modern spaces. Also, that fish really pushed the indication that all is not well within this narrative. That would appear to be the point anyway, as psychological thrillers don't typically feature happy people in ideal situations.

Homecoming doesn't break that tradition, and features Julia Roberts as a caseworker named Heidi who works for a secret government organization, The Homecoming Transitional Support Center, which was set up to help soldiers return to their civilian lives. Heidi seems content with her work, although when she's questioned by the Department of Defense years later about her work and the facility, she begins to understand her old job had much more going on with it than what she was aware of.

For those out of the loop, Julia Roberts' Homecoming is actually a TV adaptation of a fictional podcast of the same name. The original work featured stars like Oscar Isaac, David Schwimmer, and Catherine Keener, but Roberts will be the newcomer for the Amazon show. The Homecoming trailer gave us our first look at her portrayal of Heidi, although in truth that's about all the trailer gave viewers outside of those spooky vibes. Perhaps a later trailer for the series will showcase the star-studded cast that also includes Stephan James, Bobby Cannavale, Sissy Spacek and more.

The Legends of Legends of Tomorrow ended Season 3 on both a huge victory with the defeat of Mallus and the discovery of a huge mistake when Constantine turned up with a decapitated dragon's head to tell them that they basically broke time again. It was bad news for the shifting Legends (and the people of all time and space in the Arrow-verse), but awesome news for fans who loved these characters' shenanigans. Season 4 will feature a lot more of some characters, including Constantine, and somebody who made an impression as a villain. The first trailer from San Diego Comic-Con proves that they'll need all hands on deck to fix time again. Take a look!

Supergirl came to an end back in June on a wild cliffhanger that introduced a potentially evil version of Kara Danvers in the first look at an adaptation of DC's Red Son comic series. It also saw the departure of Mon-El, revealed why Winn won't be around as much, and sent the other main characters in some unexpected directions. Basically, fans have had a lot of questions about what's to come in the new season, and the first trailer (courtesy of San Diego Comic-Con) indicates that Kara is in for a lot of trouble due to a new threat. See for yourself!

It looks like Supergirl's quest for truth, justice, and the American way will be more complicated and potentially even more dangerous in Season 3! Sam Witwer, as Agent Liberty, is narrating about all the havoc that aliens have wreaked on the world and National City. Much of it is admittedly old footage, but there's no shortage of examples of Supergirl and other aliens doing damage to the planet. That said, Agent Liberty didn't exactly share the context of the damage being done, so anyone who may be listening to him may be easily swayed against aliens like Supergirl and J'onn.

Agent Liberty doesn't even show his face on screen and it's already clear that he'll be a formidable foe. He may not physically deliver the brutal beatdowns on the Girl of Steel that Reign pulled off, but he could do more to harm Supergirl in a different way. If she's rejected by the public, she won't be able to do her job, and a lot of people could die. Personally, my fingers are crossed that Agent Liberty's vendetta brings President Marsdin back into the mix. She would surely want to put a stop to him before he causes irreparable damage, and I would not say "no" to more Lynda Carter in Season 4.

The trailer also gave a look at Kara's doppelganger, who will be known as the Red Daughter for Supergirl's loose adaptation of the Red Son comic arc. It was hard to guess exactly what twists the show would put on the arc, and though we don't have enough footage to say for sure, we can say that her costume is quite different than what Kara prefers. Landing down in Russia rather than Midvale changes a girl!

Supergirl will return to The CW with new episodes in a new time slot with a premiere on October 18. Arrow ended its sixth season on a twist that's bound to change the show, and the entire Arrow-verse, for however much longer they run on The CW. With the leading man outed as the Green Arrow and then sent to prison among a slew of villains, there's simply no way for everybody to go back to life as normal, even if Oliver ends up loosed from the clink early on in Season 7. The first trailer as released at San Diego Comic-Con proves that however long Oliver is in prison, he'll be in a lot of danger, and Star City won't be doing too great in his absence. The good news? A new Green Arrow is stepping up. Take a look at the first footage from the seventh season!

Well, if you thought anybody on the show might have had a super chill time over hiatus, I'd say this trailer proved that these characters were fully dealing with the non-chill finale issues for those months off-screen. At least it looks like whatever time travel shenanigans that went down on The Flash (courtesy of the West-Allen family tree) didn't ruin anything for Arrow, such as switching anybody's child from a boy to a girl. Poor William isn't doing too well, and something tells me that the new Green Arrow won't be stepping up as father figure.

Speaking of the new Green Arrow, the trailer answered a question that fans started asking as soon as we knew Oliver was going behind bars: what happens to Green Arrow proper? Well, even though vigilantes weren't much of an issue in Star City for the five months prior to the premiere, someone else is getting down to business as the Emerald Archer. And while it could feasibly be anyone beneath that hood in those final seconds, something tells me it's Colton Haynes' Roy Harper. Because if you're going to have Haynes back as a series regular, and you don't go full Arsenal in the trailer, then what does that mean? It means Roy is probably returning specifically to take on a new moniker.

But enough about the superhero persona, and more about the bruised and battered Oliver Queen that is present throughout the entirety of the trailer. Heading into prison was not a good move for the sanctity of Oliver's face, especially since he's sharing prison space with some of the very villains he put in there. As revealed in the trailer, fans can look forward to meeting back up with Vinnie Jones' Danny "Brick" Brickwell, Michael Jai White's Ben "Bronze Tiger" Turner, Cody Runnels' Derek Sampson. Like their fists look forward to meeting back up with Oliver's temples. But at least prison is good for Mr. Queen's abs.

Not revealed in the trailer is that Arrow has cast three actors as the ruthless villains the Longbow Hunters, who will be the team that Ricardo Diaz hires to take out Oliver and Team Arrow for good. Whistler's Holly Elissa will play Red Dart, called "a ruthless and precise killer." Van Helsing's Michael Jonsson will play Kodiak, known as "a beast of a man with brute force." And then there's Orphan Black's Miranda Edwards as the "master of stealth" called Silencer. Here's hoping they lead Team Arrow back to Diaz, even if some chaos has to go down first.

Last year, after being absent from the TV realm for more than 10 years, the Star Trek franchise finally returned to the small screen with Star Trek: Discovery, the CBS All-Access series set roughly a decade before the events of The Original Series. Only a month after Star Trek: Discovery Season 1 began airing, CBS ordered a Season 2, and production kicked off back in April. Now we have our first glimpse at what the show's sophomore season has in store thanks to a trailer that's come straight from San Diego Comic-Con.

For those who need a refresher, Star Trek: Discovery Season 1 wrapped up its Klingon storyline, only for the crew of the Discovery to receive a distress call from the U.S.S. Enterprise in the final minutes of the Season 1 finale. At that time, the Enterprise was under the command of Captain Christopher Pike, and months after it was announced that Inhumans star Anson Mount would play Discovery's version of Pike, this trailer officially introduces him. However, upon being beamed onto the Discovery, Pike reveals that per Starfleet's orders, he's taking control of the ship. From there, we're bombarded with clips of the action that Star Trek: Discovery has in store for Season 2, accompanied by Lenny Kravitz's "Fly Away." Unusual song choice, but I'll take it.

While last season's storyline was largely war-based, Star Trek: Discovery Season 2 looks like it will revolve around a search, as there're seven red bursts spread out across more than 30,000 light years, but it's unclear where these signals came from or what they mean. That said, of all the footage in this trailer (which includes our first look at Tig Notaro's character), arguably the biggest thing outside of Christopher Pike's introduction is the tease of Star Trek legend Spock. We know that Star Trek: Discovery's main character, Sonequa Martin-Green's Michael Turnham, is Spock's foster sister, and it was confirmed at San Diego Comic-Con today that Spock will indeed appear in the upcoming season. So in addition to investigating these signals, Michael will also be on the lookout for Spock.

This new Star Trek: Discovery trailer was also accompanied by a new casting. Rebecca Romijn has joined the series as Number One, Christopher Pike's right-hand officer. Number One was played by Majel Barrett (who later married Star Trek creator Gene Roddenberry and return to the franchise decades later as Lwaxana Troi) in Star Trek: The Original Series' first pilot, "The Cage," so it makes sense that with Pike playing a major role this season, she would be by his side.

It was also announced today that Star Trek: Discovery Season 2 will be preceded by short films this fall called Short Treks, which will be an "opportunity for deeper storytelling and exploration of key characters and themes which fit into Star Trek: Discovery" and run 10-15 minutes each. Rainn Wilson will reprise Harry Mudd in one episode (which he'll also direct) and Aldis Hodge will star in another episode as Craft, "a man who finds himself the only human on board a deserted ship." Other Short Treks episodes will include "a deep dive into Saru's backstory as the first Kelpien to join Starfleet, and Tilly's journey aboard the U.S.S. Discovery and her friendship with an unlikely partner."

With the All Out War now an event of the increasingly distant past, The Walking Dead is heading into Season 9 with a renewed vigor and sense of setting, with the timeline jumping forward to a point where civilization has once again become a reality. And during the AMC hit's San Diego Comic-Con panel, fans got their first big glimpse of the new world that lies ahead. And while it still doesn't look like the most comfortable way to survive, it is a hell of a lot better than any kind of life in Negan's shadow. Check the trailer out below!

The trailer points toward The Walking Dead delivering some twists that fans have been crossing their fingers for during the last several years, hoping that the divergences from the comic stories (include Carl's death and Rick's looming departure) wouldn't mean all the big comic elements would be absent. Well, we now know that the Whisperers are on the way, which means epic new villains and a possible dark, dark fate for good old Rick. Could our theory about Rick come true?

Rick could be in trouble due to a lot more than the Whisperers. As expected, not everybody is happy with Rick after his actions in the Season 8 finale, and the new footage points toward Negan and perhaps Michonne having an idea that not everything is as peachy for Rick as he believes. The trailer already seems to be setting the stage for Daryl to take a larger part in the zombie apocalypse action. He can be heard reflecting on the days from earlier in the series, back when the group was smaller, on the run, and seemingly capable of anything. He's not too happy about how things have changed in the years since.

Daryl and Rick do seem to kinda sorta still be bros in the trailer, which either points toward Daryl becoming a much better actor during the time jump or Daryl being somewhat conflicted about betraying Rick. That said, things will clearly begin to break down between them despite the shot of them riding Daryl's motorcycle together. Daryl seems to have gotten even more deadly during the time jump -- feel free to watch the trailer again just to re-experience him take out the zombie with a spear -- and Rick could be in a lot of trouble if he's stuck between a pissed off Daryl out of control and the Whisperers. The first half of the new season could be a stressful and intense time for fans.

One particularly noteworthy visual of the trailer not involving the Whisperers or characters plotting against Rick was the signs made for the various communities. We have Alexandria, the Sanctuary, Oceanside, Toledo, and HQ. I would think that HQ would be the Hilltop -- possibly what the H stands for? -- but I suppose the Kingdom could have been rebuilt and renamed. Headquarters, Hilltop, or Hilltop as Headquarters? We'll have to wait and see.

Honestly, I'm just happy that the trailer finally answered the question of what was up with Maggie's seemingly endless pregnancy. Although only a small amount of time passed in-universe, fans watched a pregnant Maggie for years without Lauren Cohan donning a pregnancy pad. The footage of Maggie with a baby indicates that Maggie had the baby just fine during the time jump. Finally, something has gone right for Maggie! Will the baby play a part in why we'll see less of Maggie in Season 9?

The Walking Dead will find its way back to fans for the world-expanding Season 9 on Sunday nights this October, beginning with the big premiere on October 7. You'd better start getting ready for a lot of exciting news in the coming weeks.
