Five years have passed since Prince Harry and Meghan Markle stepped away from life as royals in the U.K., moving to the United States for a fresh start away from the notorious British paparazzi. While the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have kept busy on the U.S. side of the pond with various projects, the rift within the royal family apparently hasn't been mended. Now, with Season 2 of Meghan Markle's Netflix series just days away from premiering on the 2025 TV schedule, reports are circulating about how her career allegedly influenced any chances of reconciliation between Prince Harry and Prince William.

The relationship between the brothers over the past five years has reportedly been so rocky that some felt that an "intervention" would be needed, and William's alleged regret about the situation was that Harry and Meghan Markle weren't cut entirely off from the royal institution (including their royal titles) when they left in 2021. More recently, royal expert Hilary Seward spoke with Fox News Digital with claims about why a reconciliation hasn't happened yet, saying:

It's certainly true that alleged details about the Sussexes' lives in the U.K. and roles in the institution have spread since they relocated to the U.S., although Markle hasn't been flying solo when she's spoken about her experiences before and after marrying Harry.

The couple starred in the Harry & Meghan docuseries, which released in two parts back in 2023 for anybody with a Netflix subscription, and resulted in some big takeaways about the royal family. Plus, some of arguably the wildest allegations came from Prince Harry's memoir, called Spare as a nod to what the prince claims was a cruel childhood joke from his father, King Charles. Their bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey certainly caused a lot of buzz.

The full story may never come out, as Prince William hasn't made public claims on the record in the U.K. quite like his brother and sister-in-law have in the U.S. The Sussexes don't seem to be slowing down in their high-profile projects, however, with Prince Harry and Markle striking a new Netflix deal despite their original deal seemingly breaking down.

Markle's solo lifestyle series hasn't been without controversy, although claims about her copying Martha Stewart's pasta recipe and people thinking Gwyneth Paltrow threw shade at her are much milder controversies than the earlier years after she and Prince Harry left the royal family.

Season 2 of With Love, Meghan premieres on Tuesday, August 26 on Netflix. Viewers shouldn't go in expecting Markle to dish any details about her husband, her brother-in-law, or Prince Harry and Prince William's chances of reconciliation, but you can always check out the Harry & Meghan docuseries on the same platform if you want to see some of their candid claims about their time in the U.K. before moving to the U.S.

When it comes to the royal family, it would seem that the old adage doesn’t prove true and time, instead of healing wounds, might actually make them fester and spread. Prince Harry and Meghan Markle (whose show, With Love, Meghan was on the 2025 TV schedule) left their positions as working royals back in 2020, but the years since only appear to have made things worse between the younger prince and his big bro, Prince William. Now, we’re hearing some reports about how their relationship is supposedly going currently.

What’s Being Said About The Current Relationship Between Prince Harry And Prince William?

It would be fair to say that most of what we’ve heard over the past half decade about the relationship of Prince William and Prince Harry has been “hard and sad.” Even Harry, after settling in Montecito, California with Markle and their kids, has made a number of troubling allegations about his family’s behavior toward himself and his wife in a revealing interview with Oprah, along with both their Harry & Meghan docuseries and his memoir, Spare.

Recent months, however, have seen the couple focus more on the future and new endeavors instead of looking back. Not only did the former Suits actress’ lifestyle series (which you can watch with your Netflix subscription) show a lighter side to her and (briefly) her husband, the Duchess of Sussex returned to social media at the start of the year, and has been giving fans a more relaxed look at their lives. As royal commentator Amanda Matta told Us Weekly about Harry:

The Duke of Sussex has, of course, spoken out against the press many times in the past. He’s been involved in several lawsuits against various media outlets, including the publisher of the Daily Mail which was accused of using illegal methods like wire-tapping phone hacking to gain information about their subjects. Harry has noted that tabloids, in particular, had “largely deprived” him of his childhood and youth because of the mistrust caused, and part of the reason that the Sussexes left the U.K. and their royal life behind was because of “bullying” Markle received in the press, along with online flak about everything they do.

We’ve heard before that the relationship between Harry and William has gotten so bad that they would likely need a sort of “intervention” to help them get through all of their issues. Richard Fitzwilliams, a royal expert, told the outlet that the brothers apparently not being on the same page also had practical implications for William, who is next in line for the throne. As he said:

It does make sense that the (rather new) Prince of Wales would have assumed for most of his life that his little brother would essentially be right by his side to pick up any slack or maybe even help him make decisions. At the very least, he likely thought that his sibling would always be a working royal who could attend events on behalf of the crown, but now that’s not the case. William, though, is still taking his public duty to heart, while building in more time to relax away from prying eyes. Matta said:

It seems like it’s been very easy for people to forget that for all their privilege and responsibility, the royals are also human beings with their own needs, wants, and the desire to have at least some of their lives take place privately. While the prince is now closer than ever to taking the throne, maybe seeing how his brother responded to increased scrutiny encouraged him to step back just enough here and there, so that he’ll never feel that a complete separation from royal life is necessary. Meanwhile, Harry is still working on his second act, and both, according to Matta, on going on with the new normal without constant “conflict:”

Considering everything that’s been said and the trust that’s reportedly been broken on both sides, I don’t think anyone can imagine a real reconciliation or return to royal life for Harry and Meghan coming any time soon.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have mostly been estranged from their relatives since they stepped back from their duties as senior members of the clan. As a result, Prince William has kept his distance from his younger brother, and an insider claims William has one regret amid the alleged tension.

That detail is now said to be something of a sticking point for 42-year-old Prince William. A source for InTouch claims that the heir apparent to the British throne now wishes he would’ve completely broken with his brother and sister-in-law sooner:

Friction amongst the royals was revealed during the Sussexes’ bombshell 2021 interview with Oprah Winfrey. The couple alleged that the family made racially insensitive comments in regard to their yet-to-be-born son, Archie (and the family later said the claims would be “taken very seriously.”) Other accusations were made by Prince Harry in his 2023 memoir, Spare, including the claim that Prince William and his wife, Kate Middleton, helped him decide on that infamous Nazi costume he wore to a party. Sources alleged that William had strong feelings about the book and said that the text would prolong the estrangement.

In addition to those developments, the docuseries Harry & Meghan (which is streamable with a Netflix subscription) also sees the titular couple discussing their relatives. Following all of that, Prince William himself has not openly addressed the state of his relationship with his brother. However, if the aforementioned insider is to be believed, time has not healed all wounds:

Aside from the Prince of Wales, Prince Harry has also allegedly gotten on the bad side of his father, King Charles III. It was reported in August 2024 that Harry and his father’s relationship had hit a “new low level” and that they were no longer communicating. That came on the heels of the Duke paying a visit to his dad, who was diagnosed with an unspecified form of cancer.

The continued feud taking place within the British Royal Family has garnered responses from various individuals, and that’s not just counting royal experts. For instance, Jason Knauf, an ex-aide to Princes William and Harry, expressed sadness over the rift in the brothers’ relationship. As for a potential reconciliation, the latest claims from William give the impression that he’s not looking to patch things up with his brother anytime soon.

The Duchess’ legal team ultimately denied the claims. Knauf’s email with those concerns leaked in 2021 shortly before the Oprah interview, and he received media attention as a result. He also provided evidence in a privacy case between Markle and a British news outlet.

In the years since, royal insiders have asserted that both Princes William and Harry have been exchanged, with the latter also not maintaining contact with their father, King Charles. Harry did attend his father’s coronation ceremony, though he apparently didn’t stay too long for pleasantries with his relatives, and he also returned home after his father’s cancer diagnosis.

Whether or not the two princes might eventually mend their relationship remains to be seen. It has been reported, though, that Prince Harry and King Charles are willing to let bygones be bygones. Harry himself even acknowledged a reconciliation, saying that he’d like to have both his father and brother back in his life. As for Jason Knauf, he seems intent on respecting William’s wishes to keep the specifics of his current relationship with Harry private.

What happens when the actress behind Ted Lasso’s Rebecca Welton and a prince of England walk into a bar? They talk about protecting the environment and their children, that’s what they do. To contextualize that wild statement, to promote The Earthshot Prize, Hannah Waddingham and Prince William got together for a game of darts, a beer and a good convo about the environment, protecting it and educating their children about it. Let’s just say, I didn’t have this whole situation on my 2024 bingo card, but I’m very happy it happened.

Referring to their kids as “little people,” Waddingham noted during a game of darts that both she and Prince William talk about protecting and appreciating nature a lot with their kids, and it was both sweet and important, take a look:

This small video played into a greater conversation about the environment that The Fall Guy actress and Prince William had over a game of darts for The Earthshot Prize. They discussed the program and how it’s grown over the years while also addressing the importance of protecting the environment.

Now, the clips from this chat have gone viral on Instagram, with some amassing well over 4.5 million views. My personal favorite – as a diehard Ted Lasso fan – was the one that featured Waddingham shooting darts and slowly taking better shots each time. Notably, as you can see below, one of her best attempts came after she acknowledged one of Ted Lasso’s most wholesome moments that ended with him saying “barbeque sauce:”

In no universe did I even imagine the Rebecca actress playing darts with a Royal Family member. However, I’m happy it happened, and I’m thrilled it was done for such a good cause.

Considering the power and publicity surrounding both the Royal Family and one of Apple TV+’s best shows, Ted Lasso, putting these two in the same room was bound to get buzz.

With the Ted Lasso Season 4 reports, Waddingham’s hilarious responses to said reports and her rising career, there’s a lot of love out there for her, and fans, like me, follow and listen to her. So, hearing her speak so passionately about nature is impactful, and having her chat with – you know – Prince William makes it an even bigger deal.

So, while this wasn’t on my bingo card at all, in hindsight it makes a lot of sense to bring these two people together to have a meaningful conversation. It’s been over a year now since Travis Kelce set into motion his very public romance with Taylor Swift. Given that level of attention from fans and the media, I’d say Kelce has dealt with it pretty well. Amid the relationship, the Kansas City Chief was even able to meet Prince William and the royal family. Kelce's mom, Donna, revealed his take on that experience and, seriously, I couldn't relate to him more.

Mama Kelce has been advocating for better health alongside Brooke Shields, and recently caught up with Extra to talk about the campaign and her two sons, professional football players Travis and Jason Kelce. When asked about Travis meeting the royal family, she had an unexpected take to share. As it turns out, the acclaimed tight end was a tad flustered:

Travis Kelce's profile has been rising as of late, with the beloved athlete making his acting debut in the new Ryan Murphy show, Grotesquerie, which premiered last week on our 2024 TV schedule. Additionally, Kelce's lining up film projects, including Loose Cannons and Adam Sandler's Happy Gilmore 2. But, even though his notoriety is growing, it sounds like it's still somewhat surreal for him to be in the presence of massive public figures. That's totally understandable, and I appreciate the fact that even someone of his stature still has those kind of feelings.

While the popstar and Chiefs player had been photographed together infinitely for months, Taylor Swift went Instagram official in a post this summer that included not only her new beau, but also Prince William and two of his kids. Other big names also attended the Eras tour, with one being Paul McCartney. Let’s be honest, the VIP tent at a Taylor Swift concert sees as many famous people as a red carpet. Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce's relationship seem pretty high status to me, but the British monarchy is on a different level. I would definitely feel very awkward around royalty. I wonder if the “Fortnight” songstress still has some nerves amongst such high status or if the novelty has worn off.

The American celebrity couple also attended Wimbledon together alongside Patrick and Brittany Mahomes, where the New Heights podcast co-host hard launched his love for bucket hats, and no doubt they met many star-studded faces up in the box seats. However, Donna Kelce says that even if her son is out of his element, he doesn’t show it:

Typically, when we learn news about the Royal Family it’s quite serious. This year especially has been harder for them because Kate Middleton was diagnosed with cancer, and before that was public knowledge there was a lot of speculation about why the Princess of Wales hadn’t been seen publicly. Thankfully, she seems to be doing better now, and amid her recovery, an old interview of her and Prince William telling a sweet story about getting competitive on their kids' sports day is going viral.

So, it’s refreshing to hear them talk about their kids and their “competitive side.”

Overall, this story is super cute, and it’s a rare candid peek into the royal couple’s lives as parents. It also highlights that even though they are royal, they are down to clown sometimes during fun events like their kids’ sports days.

As I said, we don't often get what is seemingly a candid look into the Prince and Princess of Wales' personal lives.

Amid Middleton’s cancer recovery process and reports about Royal Family drama, it’s nice to get a reprieve and personal story about this couple. They clearly had a lot of fun during that sports day, and as the comments and I can attest, we loved hearing it.

It goes without saying that Princes William and Harry are rich. Even with the younger brother stepping away from his royal duties, Harry is still a member of the British monarchy, where kings, castles and coronations aren’t just the things of Disney cartoons. So just how wealthy are we talking here? Prince William’s annual salary was just released, and it includes an impressive number of zeros. Meanwhile, the Duke of Sussex may not see the same perks as his older brother, but it looks like he’s set to receive more than William did as part of his trust fund.

When King Charles III ascended to the throne in 2022 following Queen Elizabeth II’s death, his eldest son William inherited the title of Duke of Cornwall, and with that, the Duchy of Cornwall estate. In the annual report of the duchy’s 2023-24 financial earnings, per the New York Post, it was revealed that Prince William received a $30 million salary.

The Duchy of Cornwall is a private estate established by King Edward III in 1337 to fund the heir to the throne’s public and private activities. Of course, that means that Prince Harry sees no benefits from the duchy. But if looking at Prince William’s salary makes you wonder if Harry might be regretting leaving the royal family, think again, because things don’t exactly look financially dire for the Duke of Sussex.

Prince Harry Set To Inherit More Than William From Queen Mother’s Trust Fund

Prince Harry is celebrating a big birthday this year, turning the big 4-0 on September 15. While many of us may dread reaching that milestone, the Spare author is set to receive a gift that should soften the blow of aging. Harry will reportedly get $8.5 million from his share of the trust fund that the Queen Mother left to her great-grandchildren.

According to The Guardian, Princess Diana’s sons received some of that fortune when they turned 21, with another sum being paid out on their 40th birthday. Prince William is 42, so it’s likely he’s already received the second half of his trust fund, but apparently what he got was less than the $8.5 million that Harry will inherit. The publication explains that the Queen Mother left the bulk of the brothers’ money to Harry because he was not in line to be king and would therefore not benefit from the Duchy of Cornwall, as his brother now is.

The feud between William and Harry has been widely publicized — much by Prince Harry himself in the revelations from his memoir Spare — and one has to wonder if and how much money plays into any bitterness they might have toward each other. Even if both brothers are sitting pretty with millions in the bank, there’s probably no amount too large or too small to argue over if there’s no parity involved. Hell, some days I’d fight my sister over a crisp $20.

It’s been a tough year for the royals, health-wise as King Charles revealed he had cancer just a couple of months before Kate Middleton shared her own cancer diagnosis. Despite the strained nature of Harry’s relationship with his family, he has reportedly reached out, and he and Meghan Markle may even be looking for a permanent home in the U.K. If that’s true, the Sussexes may be able to increase their budget with that trust money coming in.

We’re used to seeing A-listers at the Eras Tour. During Taylor Swift’s first set of shows over a year ago Laura Dern, Emma Stone and more were seen dancing and having a blast, and just a few weeks ago, Ryan Reynolds, Blake Lively and their kids were in Madrid for a show. Over the last year, the celebs have shown up to see one of music’s biggest names, and now we can add literal royalty to that list. Yep, Prince William and his kids were at the Eras Tour in London, and Swift even posted a photo with them and her boyfriend Travis Kelce. Of course, along with this photo came a bunch of royally entertaining comments too.

It’s quite fun to think about the Royal Family witnessing the surprise songs and possibly theorizing about elements of the show like the orange door. While I obviously don’t know if William, Charlotte and George are massive Swifties, it’s fun to hypothesize that they are. Plus, based on the images of them with the “Karma” singer and the football player, they 100% had a blast at this concert that’s taken the world by storm. 

Genuinely, the royalty in this photo is a bit overwhelming in the best way, and it’s honestly wild to see Prince William and his kids posing for selfies with Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce. And who knows what will happen next? Swift has a few more shows in London, so maybe more royals will pop up to see her perform, or maybe we’ll get more fun moments like this one from America’s royal couple. 

The British Royal Family attends a wide range of events throughout a calendar year and, as expected, the brood typically appears both dapper and dignified on such occasions. Additionally, though, one particular member of the clan manages to stand out for other reasons. Prince Louis, the 6-year-old son of Prince William and Kate Middleton, has become humorously notorious for making faces whenever he’s seen in public. The young man made another set of hilarious expressions again this weekend, as he and his family celebrated Trooping the Colour. 

For those who are unfamiliar with it, Trooping the Colour is an annual military event that marks the birthday of the British Sovereign. It involves hundreds of military officers and horses, and a number of musicians provide performances as well. So, needless to say, this is a big to-do. However, that didn’t really seem to phase Prince Louis, as he stood with his family and watched the festivities from the balcony of Buckingham Palace. One snapshot showed the adorable kid yawning amid the Royal Air Force’s flyover. Take a look: 

That shot of the child alone is funny, but this next one might top it. At another moment, the royal’s visage conveyed a sense of confusion, and it was totally apparent. Truth be told, it sort of gives off “WTF” vibes. See for yourself:

It’s funny to think that years ago, Louis’ dad, Prince William, once referred to his older son, George, as a rascal. But the older prince, who’s now 10, is quite reserved compared to his young sibling. Speaking of William, though, there was also a moment during Trooping the Colour when he gave Louis an ear tug. And that ultimately led to yet another animated expression from his child: 

To say that Prince Louis was living his best life at the event would be an understatement. Aside from making faces, X users captured the moment that he began dancing during the bagpipe procession. The young man was apparently dancing to the point that his older sister, 9-year-old Princess Charlotte, playfully scolded him in the same clip. Louis certainly has a lot of energy by the looks of it, but I won’t front the kid for having a bit of fun. 

It was confirmed in September 2017 that William and Kate Middleton had a third child on the way. Ultimately, Middleton had baby No. 3 in April 2018. In time, Louis has become a beloved part of the British brood, in part due to his playful tendencies. He previously went viral for looking bored at the coronation of King Charles in 2023. Users across the Internet gleefully responded with funny comments. That particular event was funny for a few reasons, including the hat-blocking shade thrown around. 

As far as Prince Louis goes, I’d think that this won’t be the last time that he’ll put on such a display during an event like Trooping the Colour. Quite frankly, it’s hard not to find the little guy entertaining. And the reactions from others across the web would seem to suggest that I’m not alone in feeling that way.

In March Kate Middleton shared her cancer diagnosis with the world. Before that, there had been a lot of speculation about why she hadn't been seen publically, and she explained that after getting abdominal surgery in January, she found out she had cancer. Now, the Princess of Wales has provided an update on her health as well as her Royal plans for the summer. 

Kate Middleton took to X to provide an in-depth update on The Prince and Princess of Wales' official account. She explained that she's making "good progress," however, as recovery goes, there are ups and downs. Explaining how treatment is going, she wrote:

When her diagnosis was announced, and since then, we haven’t learned much about the Princess of Wales’ condition. The type of cancer she has is not known to the public and other details have been kept private. 

As she continues to rest and recover, she's also excited to getting back to her royal duties. In the statement, she explained her plans for the summer and some of the upcoming events she's looking forward to:

According to NYT, King Charles “is delighted” that Middleton will be at the event, which is tomorrow. Along with that, as she said, she’s working from home at the moment, and palace officials reported that as she recovers she’ll be consulting with her doctors as she decides which events to attend. Overall, she’s hoping to attend a handful of events over the course of the summer.

Before it was known that she had cancer, there was a lot of speculation about where Middleton was, because she hadn’t been seen publicly in months. Eventually, the speculation turned into a joke after the family photo controversy, as people like Blake Lively made jokes about it and Tucker Carlson got pranked over it. 

Amid all of that, Middleton did make a public appearance, and not long after she announced her cancer diagnosis. Those who poked fun at all this apologized, including Andy Cohen and Lively.  Since then, we haven’t learned much about her health, so it’s nice to hear that she’s doing well and recovering. 

As her statement said, she’s “learning how to be patient,” and she’s “listening” to her body during this difficult time. Obviously, as she wrote, recovery has its ups and downs, but all things considered the Princess of Wales seems to be doing well and she’s thrilled to start getting back to work. 

Since Prince Harry and Meghan Markle stepped back from their royal duties in 2020, they’ve revealed a lot about the Royal Family as they told their side of the story. Through their bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey in 2021, their Netflix docuseries Harry & Meghan and Prince Harry’s book Spare, we’ve heard a lot about his relationship with his family, and it’s not all good. Now, King Charles has apparently requested that his youngest son stop talking so publically about all of this. 

Tom Quinn, a Royal Family expert and author, told The Mirror that King Charles has apparently asked his son to stop revealing stories about the Royal Family that could "cause trouble." The author claimed:

Between that revealing interview with Oprah three years ago, and the one-two punch that came with Harry & Meghan (which one expert said was “dissing” Prince William) and Spare coming out within a month of each other, we learned a lot about Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s relationship with the rest of the Royal Family. 

The wild allegations and revelations in Spare, for example, includes a story that revealed that Prince William and Kate Middleton were apparently involved in Prince Harry wearing that controversial Nazi costume. That, along with other stories in the memoir, made the book popular, however, it also reportedly had a negative impact on the Prince and Princess of Wales. 

Other stories Prince Harry told, per The Mirror article, included allegations of racism in the Royal Family – which Prince William responded to in 2021 after the Oprah interview – as well as a fight the Duke of Sussex got into with his older brother. 

This Royal expert is now pointing out that the King has apparently asked his youngest son to stop speaking so publicly and telling stories that could harm the family. Continuing to explain this alleged request, Quinn reasoned that Prince Harry’s public comments, criticisms and reveals are doing more harm than good, saying:

Recently, Prince Harry hasn’t said much publicly about his family. Following King Charles’ cancer diagnosis, the Duke of Sussex visited the UK to spend time with his father. After that, he broke his silence on the diagnosis and his trip, saying he was “grateful” he got to see his dad and that what they discussed “stays between me and him.” 

Ever since Prince Harry and Meghan Markle moved to the US, they have been candid about their experience in the Royal Family. Now, whether these claims about King Charles’ request are true or not, they have noticeably not been speaking about them nearly as much.

After lots of online speculation and theories, Kate Middleton has spoken out for the first time since this discourse about her not being seen publicly for months all began, explaining that she has cancer.

In a video posted to The Prince and Princess of Wales X page, Middleton explained her health update, noting that after abdominal surgery, which the public was aware of, she later found out through tests that she has cancer:

This announcement comes a few days after Middleton allegedly made her first public appearance, and in the weeks following the highly talked about altered family photo that caused even more conspiracy theories and jokes about the Princess of Wales not being seen for months. 

Continuing her statement, Middleton did not address the online discourse, and she explained that her medical team has recommended a "course of preventative chemotherapy." She's in the early stages of her treatment now.

The Princess of Wales explained that the last few months have been “incredibly tough” for her family. Along with Middleton’s diagnosis, King Charles also has cancer, and in January they were both hospitalized – the princess for abdominal surgery, and the king for an enlarged prostate. Following that announcement, Prince Harry traveled to the UK for a private conversation with his father. Along with that, rumors have swirled about both Charles and Kate’s health, making this situation something that has grabbed the world’s attention. 

Addressing why she hasn’t really been seen publicly, Middleton said she's been trying to handle this privately with her family. Telling viewers about how she’s been working through this diagnosis with Prince William and her children, she said:

Reiterating their request for privacy, Middleton said that “time, space and privacy” are needed right now as she goes through treatment.

Meghan Markle has seemingly been the target of constant criticism when it comes to her place in the royal family, especially since she and Prince Harry stepped down as senior members of the brood in 2020. The topic came up on Celebrity Big Brother (UK), on which Kate Middleton’s uncle Gary Goldsmith is a contestant, as he slammed the Suits star for breaking up “the threesome” of Prince William, Prince Harry and Kate. These new comments come as the Duchess of Sussex herself opened up about haters online and when things were the worst for her. 

Meghan Markle Said Bullying Was Worst During Her Pregnancies 

Social media was a big part of the discussion at the panel on “Breaking Barriers, Shaping Narratives: How Women Lead On and Off the Screen" at South by Southwest on March 8, where Meghan Markle was one of the keynote speakers. She opened up about the hate she has received and revealed that it really peaked when she was pregnant. Markle told the SXSW audience (via ET): 

The mom of two seemed incredulous that people could be so cruel during such a sacred time in her life, and now — with Archie 4 years old and Lilibet 2 — the Duchess said she isn’t very active on those platforms, which she said can have a positive impact but also can potentially have a “tremendously negative effect on someone's mental health [and] their physical safety.”

The actress may be able to largely avoid the negativity, but that doesn’t mean people aren’t still talking.

Kate Middleton’s Uncle Slams Meghan Markle For Breaking Up "The Threesome"

It didn’t take long for Gary Goldsmith to weigh in on the most controversial member of the royal family after making his debut on the U.K.’s version of Celebrity Big Brother. Kate Middleton’s uncle unsurprisingly lauded the Prince and Princess of Wales as the “savior[s] of the royal family,” via US Weekly, while lamenting what happened when Meghan Markle started dating Prince Harry. Goldsmith said: 

Prince William and Kate Middleton started dating in 2003, more than a decade before Prince Harry and Meghan Markle met in 2016. That’s a long time for Harry to bond with his sister-in-law. But, of course, the dynamics would change when he met the woman who would become his wife.

The Netflix series Harry & Meghan, as well as allegations made in Prince Harry’s tell-all memoir Spare haven’t done his relationships any favors. Kate Middleton didn’t escape the mud-slinging, either, as the Duke of Sussex said she had a role in his wearing a controversial Nazi costume to a party in 2005. 

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry reportedly reached out to Kate Middleton amid her recent hospitalization, but it’s unknown if the gesture is a sign that a reconciliation is still possible. Markle was not present when Prince Harry returned to the UK following King Charles’ cancer diagnosis.

While Prince Harry and Prince William’s relationship has been up in the air for years now, there’s no question that the Netflix docuseries Harry & Meghan didn’t bring them closer together. Now, it’s been well over a year since those with Netflix subscriptions tuned into the series about the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, and a Royal author has weighed in on how he thinks the younger prince was "dissing" his older brother in it. 

This time, the claims about the brothers’ turbulent relationship stem from Robert Hardman’s thoughts on comments Prince Harry made in Harry & Meghan. The author of The Making of a King: King Charles III and the Modern Monarchy told Page Six he thought the Duke of Sussex was "dissing" his older brother in it when he spoke about marriage, saying:

In the first episode of Harry & Meghan, the younger prince speaks about his family and their relationship with marriage. Here’s exactly what he said:

As you can see, there are no specific names named. However, Hardman believes that Prince Harry was speaking about his brother, Prince William. 

In the docuseries, Harry finished off his thought on the matter by saying:

Again, no specific names were dropped. However, due to the nature of the brother’s relationship, and the allegations from Prince Harry’s memoir Spare that followed the docuseries, this author believes that Prince William was called out in this moment. Hardman noted that one of the reasons he believes the younger brother dissed his older brother was by making private stories public, after saying that both are quite private people:

After Spare and the Netflix series came out, it was reported that reconciliation is “certainly not going to happen anytime soon” between the two princes, with Royal expert Katie Nicholl saying that Harry’s book “cast William in a pretty bad light.” Also, reports stated that the release of the blockbuster memoir seemingly had a negative impact on Prince William and Kate Middleton. 

Of course, stories like the one about the controversial Nazi uniform Harry wore and his brother and sister-in-law being involved likely didn’t make his older sibling happy. Now, Hardman is claiming that other stories told and claims made in both Spare and Harry & Meghan have led to the two’s reportedly very rocky relationship. 

While none of this is confirmed, there have been countless reports about Prince William and Prince Harry’s shaky relationship, and how the Netflix docuseries and memoir reportedly made matters worse.

The saga of The Crown and the dramatized reign of Queen Elizabeth II is coming to an end with the second half of Season 6, and the show has never been closer to catching up to present day. Gone are the days of Winston Churchill and Margaret Thatcher and King George VI; viewers will see the Netflix drama's take on Prince William and Kate Middleton's early days of courtship. That includes an iconic sheer dress, and it's worth digging into how it captured the attention of the future king.

Meg Bellamy joined the cast of The Crown to play Kate Middleton opposite Ed McVey as Prince William, and the story of William and Kate will include an infamous encounter from 2002, when both were students at the University of St Andrews in Scotland. While the series that ranks as one of the best shows to binge-watch on Netflix will presumably take some liberties with the true story, Today reports that Middleton's outfit during a student fashion show is said to have caught the prince's attention in real life. 

The real-life version of the dress was constructed for less than $50 in 2002 by the future husband and wife's classmate Charlotte Todd for the school's fashion show, known as "The Art of Seduction," according to People. According to Todd, it was "just pure chance" that the then-19-year-old Kate Middleton ended up in the sheer dress. Todd shared "everyone says that the fashion show was when the romance started." The dress was knitted and see-through from almost top to bottom.

It's safe to say that the version of the dress that appears in the second half of Season 6 cost a lot more than the less than $50 for the original! The Crown's dress was designed by lead costume designer Amy Roberts and associate designer Sidonie Roberts, who used brown and gold net fabric in a layer, with blue ribbon at the bottom and a blue band at the top. Amy Roberts said this about the dress, via Tudum: 

While fans will have to check out Season 6B with a Netflix subscription after it debuts in the 2023 Netflix TV premiere schedule on December 14, the drama went the extra mile to sell the moment of Kate catching William's attention on the runway. Ed McVey didn't see Meg Bellamy in the dress before they began filming the pivotal scene, and the actor revealed that "what you see was the first couple of takes of me just being wowed by her."

In the bombshell book Endgame: Inside the Royal Family and the Monarchy's Fight for Survival author Omid Scobie wrote about the alleged affair between Prince William and Kate Middleton's former best friend Rose Hanbury and all the rumors that surrounded it. Now, the author has opened up about the reported relationship from all those years ago, and he explained why he thinks this rumor “will never go away even though there’s no truth to suggest” that it’s valid.

Omid Scobie, who is a royal expert and the author of Endgame, addressed these massive rumors about Prince William and how they have spread in his new book. While chatting with ET, he explained that there’s absolutely no evidence to back these allegations up, however, there’s a reason why they’re still floating around. He said:

Back in April of 2019 rumors about the Prince of Wales and Hanbury started to float around when a tabloid reported them. The article noted that these allegations also came up after Kate Middleton was seen out with her husband seemingly giving him the cold shoulder. Then, Rose Hanbury was at King Charles’ coronation, and while Prince Harry’s attendance (and swift exit) was the talk of the town during the event, apparently her presence was also spoken about, and it sort of reignited the rumor. 

The article noted that this seemed like a sensitive subject to Scobie as he explained how he wrote about this rumor regarding Prince William and Rose Hanbury in his book. Explaining how these allegations were incorporated into Endgame, the royal expert said:

He went on to note that the palace hasn’t said anything about the matter, and he found that “interesting to analyze.” Scobie explained that the “worst case scenarios” of this rumor is that it would have a negative impact on Prince William’s reputation. Continuing to explain his opinion on the issue and how the allegation has persisted over the years, he said:

Scobie’s thoughts on the alleged affair between Prince William and Rose Hanbury comes after his book made headlines last week for describing a letter where Meghan Markle reportedly named two royals who made racist comments about her family. The revelation of these comments became a mainstream conversation in 2021 when Prince Harry and Markle spoke to Oprah Winfrey about it during their major interview. 

Much like how the revelations and allegations made in Prince Harry's Spare had a seemingly negative impact on Prince William and Kate Middleton, this reignited rumor could do the same, as Scobie suggested. However, he also made it clear that he does not believe that it is anything more than a rumor. 

Following the release of Spare Prince William allegedly had strong feelings about it, so it will be interesting to see if we learn about his thoughts on this latest book about the royals. If we do, or if the palace says anything about the rumor, we'll be sure to keep you posted.

Patrick Dempsey was recently named the Sexiest Man Alive, and I have no doubt that his gorgeous coif contributed to the cause. It’s fitting, then, that just over a week later, The Independent announced its annual pick for “Sexiest Bald Man,” because hair alone does not a heartthrob make. Prince William took top honors for 2023, but many out there didn’t agree with the pick, and Stanley Tucci fans took to social media with their vocal reactions.

The Independent conducted its study through the marketing agency Reboot, which looked at how many times celebrities’ names had been searched online with the words “shirtless” or “naked,” and then combined those results with other factors that might contribute to one’s allure, like net worth, height, vocal attractiveness and, of course, their scalp’s shine factor. In the end, the royal dome shone brightest, but that just wouldn’t do for fans of The Lovely Bones actor, with one writing on X: 

I love to see a man fixing up an Italian feast as much as the next person — especially if the dinners involve his bromance with Robert Downey Jr. — but maybe those videos, no matter how sumptuous, didn’t translate into requests to see Stanley Tucci naked? That’s just a theory, because not only did the Devil Wears Prada actor not beat out Prince William, he failed to show up anywhere in the top 10 list of Sexiest Bald Men. This fan suggested The Independent should be ashamed with itself, writing: 

Vin Diesel was relegated back to second place this year, after overtaking Prince William in the 2022 study. Jason Statham came in third, followed by Samuel L. Jackson, Jeff Bezos, Michael Jordan, Dwayne Johnson, Shemar Moore, Shaquille O’Neal and Terry Crews. There are some strong contenders on that list to be sure, but not a Stanley Tucci in sight. Fans continued to air their grievances on X, posting:

Prince William also claimed top bragging rights on this list in 2021, with Stanley Tucci fans vocalizing their displeasure then, too. Dwayne Johnson even spoke out about the Sexiest Bald Men list that year, but his complaints weren’t with being way down in the ninth-place spot or Stanley Tucci’s name being left off, but rather with the publication somehow overlooking Seinfeld creator Larry David’s beautiful baldness.

The Prince of Wales seems to have his spot on the list locked down, but at least Stanley Tucci’s fans are doing their part to put his name in the conversation for next year's list. 

Prince Harry’s memoir Spare came out in January, and allegedly, his relationship with Prince William is still fraught and they haven’t spoken “for a long time." There’s been a lot of speculation about the royal brothers and their feelings toward one another. However, if this source is correct, it seems like they are not in a place where they’re ready to mend their relationship. 

It appears that Prince William and Prince Harry haven’t been in contact “for some time now,” according to Katie Nicholl, a royal expert. She elaborated on why this might be the case with ET, noting that Spare, and its allegations, likely have a lot to do with it. She explained her thoughts on Prince William still being reportedly mad about the book, saying:

Spare did contain stories that weren’t flattering for either prince. For example, Prince Harry opened up about the controversial Nazi uniform costume he wore to a party, and in the book, he claimed that his brother and Kate Middleton helped him decide to wear the outfit. He also alleged that they both “howled” about the costume and found it funny. This, along with other stories, didn’t depict the Royal Family in a bright light. 

The release of Spare seemingly had a negative impact on Prince William and Kate. Their popularity ratings reportedly plummeted after the book came out, though it’s worth noting that Prince Harry’s fell too. 

Prince William and Prince Harry’s relationship has been seemingly strained for years. However, according to many reports, the release of Spare made things worse, and allegedly they haven’t spoken in a long time. Nicholl noted this point, and she claimed they haven’t been in contact. She said:

Right before Spare came out, Prince Harry said he “would like to have [his] brother back.” However, according to the Duke of Sussex, the Royal Family has “shown absolutely no willingness to reconcile.” Then the book came out, and reconciliation, especially with Prince William, has seemed out of the question for months. Nicholl expressed a similar point, saying:

Prior to King Charles’ coronation, it was reported that Prince William was still upset about Spare. A source claimed it was “unclear” when the siblings would be able to work through this impasse. Then, earlier this summer, it was alleged that the princes’ relationship would need serious work to fix, with one insider hypothesizing that for them to work through their differences a “brokerage from another person,” will be needed. 

Overall, if these reports are to be believed, it sounds like Prince Harry and Prince William are not on good terms, in great part because of Spare, and they might not be for a long time. As this situation develops, we’ll be sure to keep you posted. 

September 8 will forever be a somber day for Britain’s Royal family to be remembered since on the day last year, Queen Elizabeth II died at the age of 96. With the anniversary here, Prince Harry, Prince William and other members of the Royal family honored their late grandmother in different ways (and places) on Friday.

Prince Harry, took some time to pay a private visit to the burial site of Queen Elizabeth II at St. George’s Chapel, which is in Windsor Castle. Per ET, he was among a variety of other Royal family members who also visited the late queen’s grave on the one-year anniversary of her death, but each person did so privately and individually as well. He traveled from his current home in California and made the stop after appearing at the WellChild Awards (also in the UK) on Thursday, where he spoke of his grandmother by saying: “I know she's looking down on all of us tonight.”

Prince Harry was not accompanied by his wife, Meghan Markle, to the burial site, but the couple will apparently reunite in Germany on Saturday for the grand opening ceremony of the Invictus Games. Meanwhile, the Duke of Sussex’s older brother, Prince William, was on the other side of England at St. Davids Cathedral in West Wales with his wife, Kate Middleton, for a Friday service honoring Queen Elizabeth II. 

The service was described as "an act of reflection for accession day,” and during the event, the Princess of Wales and Prince William approached a picture of the late queen before laying a bouquet before it. They were greeted by tons of locals during their visit, as well. Prince Harry and Prince William paying respect to Queen Elizabeth II in different ways and sides of England comes following reports that things are “tense” between them. Prince Harry is also allegedly estranged from much of the Royal family, but he does have relatives he’s apparently “still the best of friends” with currently.

Queen Elizabeth II died on September 8, 2022 at Balmoral Castle in Scotland, with her death certificate recording her cause of death as “old age.” The late monarch’s funeral was then held at Westminster Abbey on September 19, where over a million people lined the London streets to pay their respects. After a committal service at St George's Chapel, the queen was buried next to her husband Philip in the King George VI Memorial Chapel.

As Prince Harry, Prince William and Royal family and the UK remember the late queen on the one-year anniversary of her death, The Crown Season 6 is expected to be available to stream for those with a Netflix subscription this fall, with Imelda Staunton portraying Queen Elizabeth II. 

For years now it’s been reported that Prince Harry and Prince William have a turbulent relationship. This alleged tension was really highlighted recently when those with a Netflix subscription heard the Duke of Sussex talk about his older brother in Harry & Meghan, and when they read all the accusations and revelations in Spare, his memoir. Now, a new report is claiming that if these two ever decide to reconcile, it’s going to require a lot of work. 

Nick Bullen, Ture Royalty TV’s co-founder, seems to believe the two brothers are intentionally trying not to cross paths. He explained to Fox News that Prince Harry reportedly “hasn’t even been going to old friends’ weddings” among other events in a supposed act to not run into his older brother. He said:

The two brothers really haven’t acknowledged or been seen together much since Prince Harry and Meghan Markle moved to California. At the King’s coronation, the Duke of Sussex was notably not sitting with his family. He also made a quick exit after King Charles’ big event, however, that was reportedly because he was headed back to the United States to celebrate his son’s birthday, which fell on the same day as the ceremony. 

It’s been reported that Prince William was “upset” about Spare leading up to the coronation, and sources said the Prince of Wales had “no interest in communicating” with his brother before the big ceremony. This memoir really seemed to make an impact, and reports explained that while the book was popular, it caused the popularity ratings of Prince William and Kate Middleton to drop. 

Bullen went on to say that reconciliation between William and Harry will “require big apologies from both sides.” He also noted that he thinks that’s “pretty unlikely.”  

However, while he claimed Prince Harry and Prince William may need an intermediary to come back together, he alleged that King Charles wants to reconcile with the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. The TV producer said:

If these reports are to be believed, it seems like Prince Harry and Prince William will need to do a lot of work to really reconcile. While King Charles reportedly wants to mend things with his youngest son, it appears Prince William and his brother aren’t at that point. As we learn more about the Royal Family’s relationships we’ll be sure to keep you posted. 

The relationship between Prince Harry, Meghan Markle and the Royal Family has been strained since the couple stepped away from their duties and relocated their family to Los Angeles, and it’s only gotten worse since then. Between their Netflix docuseries Harry & Meghan, his tell-all memoir Spare, and their handling of King Charles III’s coronation, it seems a reconciliation is as far away as ever; however an alleged insider explained why the Duke of Sussex might reportedly be ready to call a truce.

Prince Harry may be running out of options, a source for InTouch Weekly alleged, following his and Meghan Markle’s Spotify deal falling through and their eviction from Frogmore Cottage. Despite continued support from Netflix, King Charles’ younger son is reportedly panicking over money and their future in the United States amid the alleged decline of business opportunities, as they lose favor in Hollywood. The source reports:

Meghan Markle was reportedly “livid” at the suggestion they should move back across the pond and ask to rejoin the Royal Family, the insider claimed, especially when she learned that her husband had allegedly already spoken to Prince William about it. The Prince of Wales, meanwhile, reportedly didn’t know quite what to make of his brother’s call, allegedly telling Harry that he’d “think about his offer.”

That would be quite the plot twist in this crazy story, especially since Prince Harry made some pretty wild revelations about his father, brother and others in Spare, in addition to their Harry & Meghan docuseries, of which a family friend said, “The cruelty of it takes the breath away.”

Even before that there was turmoil, after the couple dropped some major bombshells in an interview with Oprah Winfrey in 2021. Claims regarding racism toward Meghan Markle and the couple’s son Archie even prompted a response from the palace — a rare move in a family whose motto is “Never complain, never explain.”

More recently things haven’t appeared to have gotten any better. Prince Harry traveled to London for a lawsuit he filed against British tabloids and didn’t see his father while he was in the country. And while the Duke of Sussex did attend King Charles III’s coronation, he wasted no time leaving London, boarding a flight back to Los Angeles hours after the historic crowning.

Some have alleged that despite Prince Harry saying he’d like to have his father and brother back, he and Meghan Markle are closer to exile than reconciliation, but perhaps there’s hope yet. King Charles reportedly invited his younger son to his coronation against the advice of his wife Camilla, causing friction between the two as the king was “sick and tired” of her complaints about Harry. 

As far as rumors go, this is a pretty wild one. After everything the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have done and been through over the past few years, it would certainly be unexpected if they tried to make good with King Charles and rejoin the Royal Family. When it comes to the public’s opinion of the Royal Family, they tend to be passionate. Whether folks love them or hate them, lots of people have really strong feelings about King Charles, Prince William and Prince Harry, and many don't hold back. Kelly Osbourne is also someone who has very strong thoughts on the family, specifically the Duke of Sussex, as she dropped many f-bombs while blasting him for “whining” about his alleged problems.  

While speaking about King Charles and the Royal Family, the I’ve Had It podcast hosts asked Kelly Osbourne about Prince Harry. After talking about the King and Queen, they went on to speak about the coronation, and where Prince Harry (who notably attended the ceremony without Meghan Markle) was seated. Then they asked Osbourne about her thoughts on the matter, and she said:

Well, we definitely know how Kelly Osbourne feels about Prince Harry now. The TV personality did not hold back her thoughts when it came to the Duke of Sussex, and it’s clear that she does not agree with what he’s been doing lately, especially when it comes to how he’s been speaking about his life. 

In her impassioned speech, Osbourne spoke about how he did not like how King Charles’ youngest son spoke about how his childhood, family and the press have impacted him. In his memoir Spare, Prince Harry revealed some wild allegations and revelations, and he wrote candidly about his mental health. This approach to telling his story seems to have rubbed her the wrong way.

Also, in Spare the prince opened up about the controversial Nazi costume he wore, explaining that Prince William and Kate Middleton were involved, which is the story Osbourne referenced while speaking on the podcast. Before the book came out, Prince Harry spoke about this highly publicized costume moment in Harry & Meghan, staying that following this highly publicized costume moment, he took steps to learn from it. While he has framed it as a learning moment, many criticized him for bringing his brother into the story when he told it again in Spare.

Kelly Osbourne is not the first public figure to pop off about Prince Harry. When the royal couple’s deal with Spotify ended, podcaster and Spotify exec Bill Simmons called the duo “fucking grifters,” and many commented about their future, saying they might become influencers.  Meghan McCain’s thoughts on Meghan Markle were also like Osbourne and Simmons’ opinions, as she called out the Duchess of Sussex for not attending the coronation. Especially following the release of Harry & Meghan and Spare many have shared their critical thoughts on the duo, how they've gone about their lives, and how they've spoken about what's happened in the past.

With the constant attention from both the press and the public, famous people, especially those of the royal capacity, have to go to great lengths if they don’t want to be noticed in public. For Prince William and the Royal Family finding some sense of anonymity has to be difficult. However, it seems like the Prince of Wales found one way to avoid that attention during school by using a fake name that’s totally average. And let me tell you, I’m very here for the name he reportedly chose. 

According to the Mirror, the media had agreed that the prince should be able to study without being swarmed by the press. While attending the University of St. Andrews in Scotland, he met his now-wife Kate Middleton and got a Master of Arts degree in geography. While he didn’t have the same level of attention he's had throughout his life, there was still a lot of interest, which is why he reportedly decided to go by a different name: Steve.

While William is a pretty average name, there’s a regal quality to it, and it has a rich royal history. However, Steve is a name that you don’t hear that often in the world of royals, and I’d think if they had a name like this they’d go by Steven, not Steve. So, I guess I get why the Prince of Wales decided to go with a very common name that most people wouldn’t bat an eye at. 

Officially, Prince William enrolled at St. Andrews as William Wales according to the article. However, there are many who reportedly believe that his friends and classmates would call him by a different name to ward off attention. The story also posits that there’s a chance Middleton also called him Steve since they were good friends and lived in the same building. 

I don’t know how well the name Steve worked for him, but it is a fantastic average choice of a name, and if I were a student at St. Andrews, I honestly probably wouldn’t have known he was a royal.

While the disguise might have worked during his time at university, when graduation rolled around if folks didn’t know he was Prince William they found out because Queen Elizabeth, Prince Philip, King Charles and Queen Camilla all showed up. 

Now, Prince William has been back in the limelight for almost 20 years with his wife and three kids, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis (who has already cemented himself as an internet meme king). As these three kids grow up I’m curious to see if they take up average aliases like their father did if they attend university. I’m thinking they could pick something along the lines of James, Emma and Michael, which in my humble opinion are names that are just as magnificently general as Steve. 

Something else I’m now curious about is if Prince William's reported alias will be incorporated into Season 6 of The Crown. We’ve gotten our first look at William and Kate in the Netflix series, and we know that part of the season shows them during their time at university, so now the question is will we be seeing William or “Steve” attending classes?

This week, Prince Harry returned to London to testify in a trial against the Mirror Group Newspapers, which is the publisher of newspapers like the Daily Mirror and The Daily Express among others. When his witness statement was released it put forward stories that the Duke claimed have impacted his life, safety, mental health and relationship. Now, a royal expert has explained that an insider knows how Prince William and King Charles feel about the Duke of Sussex testifying, saying they’re “very wary.” 

As the trial continues, royal expert Katie Nicholl gave her take on how the Royal Family allegedly feels about the Duke of Sussex being involved with this case. She told ET: 

The story goes on to explain that the prince’s written testimony included him addressing the speculation about his biological father being Major James Hewitt, who was a former partner of Princess Diana. This was in reference to a story by The People which came out in 2002 that was called “Plot to rob the DNA of Harry.” The exact words of the prince were:

For context about this case, there are over 100 people suing MGN for “alleged illegal activity between 1991 and 2022,” the article explains. Prince Harry is one of four “representative claimants” who were selected for the trial that began on May 10. He is part of the case because he believes that the British tabloids “largely deprived” him of his youth.

Prince Harry also spoke during his testimony about how he thought his phone had been hacked, citing times that his voicemails apparently disappeared or weren’t received. 

With these details, and possibly more to come, Nicholl noted that the Royal Family likely doesn’t want information like this to get out. 

Along with these claims, Prince Harry targeted Piers Morgan. He said on the stand that the TV personality and his colleagues gave his mother “a nightmare time three months prior to her death in Paris,” noting that it makes him “feel physically sick.” 

While it’s not confirmed -- based on what happened with Prince Harry’s involvement with the coronation and all the wild allegations and revelations in Spare -- it wouldn’t be shocking if King Charles and Prince William aren’t thrilled about their family member’s involvement.

Whether you’re a 5-year-old or an adult I imagine sitting through a ceremony that is hours long while also dealing with heaps of pomp and circumstance is exhausting, and at times boring. Well, as many tuned in for King Charles’ coronation, they took notice of Prince William and Kate Middleton’s youngest son Prince Louis who looked incredibly bored during his grandfather's big day. As the event continued the internet fell in love with the youngsters' priceless reactions, and they posted about how they are hilariously here for them.

During King Charles’ coronation, Prince Louis was seen with his sister Princess Charlotte, and viewers tuning into the ceremony on the 2023 TV schedule couldn’t help but notice the little royal let out a massive yawn while his grandfather was in the midst of his big moment. Take a look:

In the little prince’s defense, he’s five, and I feel like sitting through a ceremony as long and formal as the coronation had to be difficult. Not long after Louis was seen yawning, he left the ceremony a bit early, because, as royal reporter Omid Scobie speculated for ET, the prince was “restless” at the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee last year, and you know, again, he’s 5, sitting still is hard. 

Prince Louis returned later in the ceremony, sitting next to his sister once again, and one viewer made the hilarious comment that the two siblings, kind of resembled David and Alexis from the episode of Schitt’s Creek where David gets married. @RohitaKadambi tweeted about the seemingly bored siblings, posting: 

Admittedly, I cackled when I saw this post, partly because of Charlotte's white dress, but also because I could totally see the two young siblings having some sort of conversation that’s completely unrelated to the ceremony. The interactions between Charlotte and Louis seemed to be a real highlight for many, as they also took notice of how they were acting on the balcony after the coronation. @ChristinsQueens had a hilarious reaction to Louis' little, seemingly bored, wave, posting:

I don’t know what was going on in this kid's head, but he seemed to be thoroughly entertained by his own thoughts as he tried to fend off boredom. Others also loved this moment, and Louis’ blank-faced, two-handed wave from the balcony, as @LoulaQ tweeted:

I agree, I also hope we get more A+ content from the youngest son of the Prince and Princess of Wales, because for all of us, his reactions make these ceremonies much more entertaining.

While all eyes were on the king and his grandson today, the conversation before the ceremony centered around King Charles’ youngest son Prince Harry’s attendance. This included speculation about if he’d be “on the sidelines” of the ceremony, and how much time the Duke of Sussex would spend with his father post-coronation. However, on the day of the event, these conversations were not at the top of mind as many were having a blast watching Prince William’s youngest son as he stole the show with his yawns, bored looks, and adorable wave.  

Season 6 of The Crown is expected to make its way onto the 2023 TV schedule, and with the news that the final installment of the historical drama would be coming out this year, Netflix also dropped the first photos of the actors playing Prince William and Kate Middleton. The actors, Ed McVey and Meg Bellamy, look a lot like William and Kate, respectively, in a lot of ways, and following these pictures, and now, the internet seems to actually on board. 

As The Crown and Netflix posted the first images of Ed McVey and Meg Bellamy, fans of the show took to the comments and shared all their thoughts on the actors who will be taking on the royal roles. Many seem to really be on board with the casting choices, specifically for the actor playing the Duke of Cambridge. Some wrote posts along the lines of this funny comment with over 1,000 likes about the prince on the Instagram announcement: 

He really does look a lot like Prince William, especially if you look back at photos of the royal family member from the early ‘00s.  

Another fan couldn’t get over the resemblance of the two actors compared to the real people they’re playing, and posted comments like: 

For real, the casting director deserves so much credit for this show. Since day one, The Crown cast has been praised as it always hires prestigious as well as up-in-coming actors who really capture the members of the royal family. Along with the stars resembling their characters in various ways, they also have played them well as many of the actors on the show have won major awards for their performances.

Overall, fans seem to really be on board with these first-look photos, and they are getting excited for the return of one of Netflix’s best shows. King Charles’ coronation is rapidly approaching on the 2023 TV schedule, as it’s set to happen on May 6. As this historic day gets closer, one of the biggest points of discussion surrounds the king’s youngest son Prince Harry and his relationships with the senior members of the Royal Family. Lately, there’s been a lot of chatter surrounding the Duke of Sussex’s relationship with his father, but now, the conversation has turned to his relationship with his older brother Prince William, and how they feel about each other ahead of the coronation. 

While talking about Prince Harry attending the coronation by himself while Meghan Markle stays in the states to celebrate their son's birthday, a source close to the Royal Family explained how Prince William reportedly feels about his little brother. They told ET:

Following all of the allegations and revelations in Spare, Prince Harry’s memoir, it was reported that it seemingly had a negative impact on Prince William and Kate Middleton. This is because the Duke of Cambridge’s popularity rating dropped by 8 percentage points, down to 61%, and his wife’s popularity also fell by 7 points. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s popularity also fell following the release of Spare. This came after the younger prince revealed a lot of stories in Spare that did not put himself or his family in the best of lights. One of the excerpts from the memoir had the King’s youngest son opening up about the time he wore a Nazi uniform to a party, and how William and Kate were involved. He was quite candid about his upbringing, and how he felt about the press and his family, leading many to believe the Royal Family doesn't have the best opinion of him. 

Prince Harry has said he’d like to reconcile with his father and brother, however, “they’ve shown absolutely no willingness” to do so he said. For a while, there was a big question mark surrounding the prince’s attendance at the coronation, however, he’s officially going. Now, people are curious about how he’ll interact with his family. When it comes to the Duke of Sussex’s relationship with Prince William, the source said: 

This does not come as a surprise, ever since the releases of Harry & Meghan on Netflix and Spare in bookstores, it has seemed like Prince Harry’s relationship with his family has become more turbulent. Megan Markle Said In The Past She 'Didn't Know Much' About The Royal Family Before Meeting Prince Harry

When Meghan Markle first married Prince Harry, the two acted as Senior Royals in the family, even taking a few notable trips on royal duties in countries like Botswana and Fiji. They’ve seen stepped down from those roles and moved to America, where Prince Harry took back his narrative and wrote Spare and he and his wife have pursued other projects, like a controversial Netflix docuseries and podcast. 

They’ve spoken in the past about leaving their roles following incessant and negative media coverage and issues such as The Firm leaking stories, not to mention tension within the family itself. Markle has repeatedly said she did not know what she was getting into when she married Prince Harry, citing the fact she is an American as a reason she didn't really "know much” about the royal family. in 2017, she told the BBC: 

Separately, in Spare Prince Harry wrote about how refreshing Meghan Markle’s lack of knowledge about the royal family was. In fact, he noted he was pretty sure his soon-to-be bride hadn’t even “Googled” him before they began dating. He wrote that meant “her head wasn’t filled with disinformation” which helped their relationship to move forward. 

So this is a narrative the couple has promoted for a while -- but is it accurate? 

Meghan Markle Actually Wrote About Kate Middleton’s Wedding Before She Met Harry

In a now-deleted blog post from The Tig obtained by The Daily Mail, Meghan Markle actually shared her feelings about princesses in general and how she thought about them from a young age. In a blog post from 2014, she wrote:

She went on in the post to name drop Princess Kate and the “endless conversation” surrounding Kate’s wedding to Prince William, which had occurred at Westminster Abbey several years earlier, in 2011. 

Ultimately, Meghan is writing in general terms about the wedding between Prince William and Kate and she may not have necessarily been familiar with the intricacies of royal life. So when she’s said in the past she didn’t have the “same understanding” of the family she has now, that’s perhaps meant her knowledge grew in leaps and bounds after she married Harry. (We do know, for example, that Markle reportedly underwent self-defense training and made other adjustments to her personal life after marrying.)

Regardless, her blog quotes remain interesting, as they do at the very least show that she had some awareness of the royal family across the pond a couple of years before she and Prince Harry quietly started dating in 2016. Whether or not she did some Googling on her own is still a question.

Anytime a celebrity announces they’re releasing a tell-all memoir, readers are going to expect a little bit of mud-slinging, and seemingly few people had more potential to do so than Prince Harry, who stepped away from his royal duties in 2021 with wife Meghan Markle. He didn’t disappoint either, with Spare spilling the royal tea with plenty of stories about his father, brother, stepmother and even his penis. A week after the memoir’s release, the big revelations have equaled millions of book sales for the Duke of Sussex, but have had a less-than-favorable impact on Harry’s brother and sister-in-law.

Prince William and Kate Middleton were definitely not spared in Spare. In the book, Prince Harry recalled a physical fight he got into with his brother during an argument about Meghan Markle, and he even accused the Prince and Princess of Wales of playing a part in his decision to wear a Nazi costume to a 2005 party. Those allegations — and many others — have translated into 3.2 million sales worldwide of Spare in the memoir’s first week, according to the Associated Press, putting it on track to be one of the bestselling memoirs of all time.

The sales may come at a cost, though, and not just for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. The Telegraph reports that Prince William and Kate Middleton’s popularity ratings have plummeted amid the book’s revelations, with William’s ratings dropping 8 percentage points to 61% and Kate falling 7 points to 60%. Despite the decline, the Prince and Princess of Wales remain the most popular members of the Royal Family. Prince Harry, meanwhile, also dropped 7 points, with his favorability now standing at 23%.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been controversial figures since deciding to leave the Royal Family and move to the United States. The couple started speaking out about their decision almost immediately, doing a bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey in March 2021. Late last year, they released the Netflix docuseries Harry & Meghan, which received brutal reviews from viewers, with Markle’s half-sister calling it a “series of lies.”

However, despite the public’s opinion of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, the sales of Spare prove that people were, if not supportive, at least interested in what Prince Harry had to say. The book sold 400,000 copies in all formats in the U.K. on the first day alone, and 1.6 million in the United States in its first week — sales that the AP reports are comparable to President Barack Obama’s “A Promised Land” and former first lady Michelle Obama’s “Becoming.”

As well as being released in multiple formats across all English-language markets, the tell-all has also been translated into 15 other languages — many of whose titles are arguably harsher than Spare. The English title, Spare, is reportedly a reference to a hurtful comment made by now-King Charles III on the day of Prince Harry’s birth, when he remarked that Princess Diana had given him “an heir and a spare.”

With the release of Spare, Prince Harry has been open and honest about his place within the Royal Family. His book’s title alone gives you a lot of insight into his feelings about how his family perceives him. It alludes to a joke made by the now-King Charles about how Prince William and Harry and “the heir and a spare,” and looking at the translated titles of Spare are just as brutal. Now that both princes are fathers, Harry explained that he “worries” about Prince William’s kids being treated the same way he was, as the spare, however, his brother said that is not his “responsibility.” 

While speaking with The Telegraph the Duke of Sussex talked about his relationship with his brother and his kids. Prince Harry explained that he is “someone who likes to fix things,” and he worries that Prince William’s kids will end up as “spares.” However, Prince William “made it very clear” his brother isn’t responsible for them. Although, Harry does not want his niece and nephews to be treated how he was:

It’s apparent that Prince Harry has been seriously hurt by the way he’s been treated by his family and the press. Based on this quote, while his brother noted it’s not his responsibility, he wants to make sure Prince George and Prince Louis as well as Princess Charlotte aren't treated as a spare. 

The Duke of Sussex has been very open about how he’s been treated by the Royal Family in recent months. Some critics have said Spare reveals a lot, maybe too much, about Prince Harry’s past. Among Spare’s revelations and accusations, the prince recalled the story behind the dress drama on his wedding day between Meghan and Kate, he also said Kate and William were involved in the decision he made to wear a Nazi costume to a party. 

Along with all these stories, revelations and worry from Prince Harry, he’s also spoken about if he would be willing to reconcile with Prince William and King Charles. The Duke of Sussex explained that he would like to have his brother back in his life, however, the heir to the throne has “shown absolutely no willingness to reconcile.”

Prince Harry has been making the rounds, drumming up press for the release of his tell-all memoir, Spare. Camilla Parker Bowles was long known to have been involved with now-King Charles III, and Prince Harry wrote in Spare that she struck a deal with the British media to pave the way for marriage — something he and William both apparently urged their father not to do. Harry said that made her “dangerous,” telling Anderson Cooper on 60 Minutes that Camilla “sacrificed me on her personal P.R. altar." He continued: 

Prince Harry seems to understand the Queen consort’s position. He reportedly wrote in his memoir that if you believe having positive stories written about you in the media is going to improve your reputation with the public, then you’re going to do it. 

He spoke further about his stepmother with Michael Strahan on Good Morning America and, while he expressed love for all members of his family, he admitted he and Camilla haven’t spoken in a long time. The Duke said: 

Some jaw-dropping claims from Prince Harry’s book, which is set for release this month, have caught much of the public's attention. In Spare, the Duke of Sussex talked about his infamous Nazi costume and the role his brother apparently played in his decision to wear it. He also alleges that following Prince William’s wedding, Charles and Camilla wanted his wife, Catherine, to change the spelling of her name so that it began with a “K,” citing too many members of the royal family with “C” names.

Prince Harry also detailed a physical fight he got into with William after his brother called Meghan Markle “difficult,” “rude” and “abrasive,” and wrote about cruel jokes that King Charles III allegedly made about him while he was growing up. With the book’s release, there are likely to be more stories circulating in coming days, and it doesn’t look like reconciliation with Harry’s father and brother is likely to happen anytime soon.

Now, it would seem Harry also alleges that his father, Prince (and now King) Charles, and stepmother Camilla wanted to literally change Catherine’s name after she married William.

According to his book (via The Daily Mail), King Charles and Camilla wanted to change Catherine’s name so that the first letter would be a "K." They allegedly believed the royal family had too many members that have names that started with a "C" and thought the name change would make it easier. When making their point, they apparently said that it would especially difficult when it came to their “cyphers” (which are their personal Royal Family monograms), as Charles, Camilla, and Catherine would be using the same letter at the time. 

It should be stressed that all of this should be taken with a grain of salt at this point. However, something that can be said is that the theoretical name change would've been a major ask for the newly installed Duchess. As many books and first-hand accounts have detailed, individuals give a lot of themselves when they become Royals. If Prince Harry's claims are true, then the plan apparently didn't work out, as Catherine has retained the spelling of her name. As of this writing, the Royal Family has not formally addressed the claim.

The relationship between the Duke of Sussex and his brother and sister-in-law has been tense for a while now. Over the past several years, he's stood by the side of his wife, Meghan Markle, since they opted to take a step back from their roles as senior members of the family. One might get the impression that this tell-all memoir isn't calming the situation and might not help Harry's desire for a reconciliation.

From the outside looking in, the Royal Family’s alleged mistreatment of Meghan Markle seems to be a major source of the strife. During the couple's 2021 interview with Oprah, she and her husband alleged that members of the family made race-related comments regarding their (at that time) unborn son, Archie. They also claimed there was a lack of regard for Markle's mental health even while she was carrying the child, which was apparently already difficult due to the attention they've received from the press. 

Needless to say, to say there are a lot of claims floating around, and it's likely that more will reach the surface after Prince Harry's book hits shelves in a few days. And we'll just have to wait and see if Prince William, Catherine and co. choose to confirm or deny any specific points that are brought up.

We’re still days away from the release of Prince Harry’s tell-all memoir Spare, but already there are plenty of bombshells being dropped in pre-released excerpts. The autobiographical work comes on the heels of the Duke of Sussex’s six-episode Netflix docuseries with wife Meghan Markle, Harry & Meghan. Despite its popularity on the streaming service, the controversial doc has received some brutal feedback from fans, and Markle’s half-sister called it a “series of lies.” Judging by the snippets from Spare, however, the criticism doesn’t appear to have deterred the royal couple from telling their side of the story. 

Let’s take a look at some of the wildest revelations and accusations made by Prince Harry in Spare ahead of its January 10 release.

The Title Spare Is A Reference To A Hurtful Joke King Charles III Allegedly Made

Look no further than the title of the tell-all for the beginning of Prince Harry’s big reveals. Spare is apparently a reference to a cruel joke his father is said to have made after learning Princess Diana had given birth to a second son. According to the memoir (via The Guardian), King Charles III said: 

That theme of being treated like the “spare” apparently runs throughout the book, and it’s not the only accusation Prince Harry made about the king. 

Harry’s Father Also Made ‘Sadistic’ Jokes About Not Being The Prince’s Real Dad 

If there is any hope of reconciliation between the Duke of Sussex and his father, the two will have quite a bit to overcome, as Prince Harry revealed another joke King Charles III made during his childhood, regarding public speculation about Harry's biological father. He wrote (via Page Six): 

Prince Harry also reportedly pointed out in the book that his mother and Major James Hewitt didn’t meet until after he was born. 

Harry And William Urged Their Father Not To Marry Camilla 

There was also some tension between Charles and his sons regarding his decision to marry Camilla, “[d]espite Willy and me urging him not to,” Prince Harry wrote (via Page Six). He and William were apparently concerned for different reasons, however, as Harry wrote: 

Along with King Charles III, Prince Harry’s older brother appears to also be the subject of several stories in Spare. 

Prince William And Kate Middleton ‘Howled’ With Laughter Over Harry’s Nazi Costume 

Prince Harry came under fire in 2005 for wearing a Nazi costume to a Native and Colonial party, and while he has expressed his regret numerous times over the years, he reveals in Spare (per Page Six) that Prince William and Kate Middleton encouraged him to wear that costume instead of going as a pilot. He wrote: 

In the docuseries Harry & Meghan, the Duke of Sussex said he was “ashamed” that he wore that costume, calling it “one of the biggest mistakes” of his life.  

William ‘Attacked’ Harry, Knocking Him Down In Argument About Meghan Markle 

One of the wilder accusations regarding Prince William in the memoir details an argument the brothers apparently had in 2019, during which William allegedly called Meghan Markle “difficult,” “rude” and “abrasive,” according to The Guardian. Prince Harry shared that he gave his brother a glass of water and said he couldn’t talk to him when he was like this. The excerpt continues: 

Harry apparently didn’t tell Meghan Markle at first that his brother had “attacked” him, but after she saw “scrapes and bruises,” he came clean. The Duke of Sussex apparently said she “wasn’t that surprised.” 

Prince Harry Rode Through The Paris Tunnel Where His Mother Died 

Harry said in an attempt to find closure over his mother Princess Diana’s 1997 death, he asked his driver in 2007 to drive at 65 mph through the tunnel in Paris where she had died, just as her driver had. He recalled (via People): 

He apparently didn’t get the closure he sought, calling the experiment “a very bad idea.” 

Harry Had Regrets About Googling Meghan Markle’s Sex Scenes From Suits 

That apparently wasn’t the only bad idea Prince Harry wrote about in Spare, as he also admitted to indulging his curiosity over his wife’s love scenes in the series Suits. Meghan Markle portrayed Rachel Zane for seven seasons on the USA drama, and the Duke of Sussex said he needed “electric-shock therapy” after watching her get steamy with Patrick J. Adams’ Mike Ross. Prince Harry said (via Page Six):

Prince Harry’s memoir Spare is about to hit the shelves of bookstores soon, and as people wait to read the book themselves, stories told in it are being revealed. This includes Prince Harry reportedly writing about how Prince William and Kate Middleton were involved with the decision for him to wear a controversial Nazi costume to a party back in 2005.

Page Six obtained a segment of the memoir, and explained that the Prince goes into detail about how he decided on his costume for the evening. He said he was choosing between being a pilot or a Nazi for a party that had a Native and Colonial theme. He wrote: 

The quote goes on to explain the reaction the couple had when he tried on the costume, saying they burst into a fit of laughter. 

In 2005, the 20-year-old Duke of Sussex wore the costume, he was photographed by The Sun, and the image was on the front page of the paper the next day. 

Prince Harry has now explained that wearing that costume was a big mistake. In his documentary Harry & Meghan, which has received quite a bit of criticism from viewers, the prince explained that he was “ashamed” of wearing the costume. He also said it was “one of the biggest mistakes” of his life. 

While there were many takeaways from Harry & Meghan, those who watched the docuseries on the 2022 TV schedule with a Netflix subscription also saw Prince Harry explain the costume party situation, and how he tried to learn from it. He said: 

A senior publishing source who has reportedly read Prince Harry’s memoir explained how they felt about him involving his brother and sister-in-law in the story: 

Per the Page Six article, Royal historian Robert Lacey wrote in his own book that this incident was the first sign that the princes were not on the best terms. The historian also wrote (via the article) that this moment was when Harry started to feel “alienated” from the family. This topic of tension between Harry and his family is one that the prince and his wife Meghan Markle have spoken about in both their documentary and in their interview with Oprah. 

According to the article, sources who know what’s in the book say this will be the first time Prince Harry goes into detail about his fallout with Prince William. Reportedly he has also written a lot about his relationships with Kate Middleton and King Charles's wife Queen Consort Camilla Parker Bowles. 

I’d assume more will be revealed about this story when Prince Harry’s memoir Spare comes out on January 10. The Duke of Sussex will also be doing his first interview of the year on CBS’s 60 Minutes with Anderson Cooper at 7:30 ET on Sunday, January 8, where he will be talking more about his book. 

Prince Harry has seemingly had a somewhat uneasy relationship with the Royal Family over the past several years. In 2020, he and wife Meghan Markle stepped down from their roles as senior members of the family, opting to move to the United States and start a family. Reports have suggested that Harry isn’t in consistent contact with his relatives in the U.K., including brother Prince William and new British monarchy King Charles. Some sources even claim that they’re all actively feuding with one another. The two have gotten much attention in the process, which apparently angers Harry. All the while, he’s getting real about whether he’d be willing to reconcile with his sibling and dad. 

Prince Harry, along with his spouse, have done a number of high-profile interviews over the years, during which they’ve shared alleged details about how they’ve been treated by the royals. The Duke of Sussex most recently spoke with ITV 1 for an interview that will air in less than a week, and the trailer (which was shared by The Royal Butler on Twitter) for said chat teases that the royal will be opening up about a number of topics. Most notably, the footage showed Harry confirming that he wants to reconcile with his loved ones, though that’s apparently proving to be somewhat difficult: 

These declarations do line up with reports that have surfaced as of late. In December, it was alleged that both Harry and Meghan Markle wanted a sitdown with the Royal Family. A separate source claimed that their relatives were “baffled” by the request, though it’s been suggested that such a thing could actually happen. While Harry seems enthusiastic about meeting with his estranged family, his other comments suggest that he’d like some changes made. As he says in the preview, he wants “a family, not an institution.” 

He and Meghan Markle have said a lot about the “institution” and how it has shaped their lives. One of the instances in which they did so was during their wide-ranging discussion with Oprah in 2021, during which they alleged that some questioned what the skin tone of their son, Archie, would be. The Royal Family responded to the claims at the time, stating that it was “saddened to learn the extent of how challenging the last few years have been” for the two. The monarchy also said that it found the race-related issues to be “concerning” and that they would be “addressed by the family in private.”

The couple’s relationship with King Charles, Prince William and co. may not have improved any after the release of the docuseries Harry & Meghan, which Netflix subscription-holders consumed near the end of 2022. In it, the pair aimed more allegations at the family. The show was scrutinized after release, with some theorizing that the two left the fray for privacy and are now publicly documenting their lives. Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s rep addressed the criticism in a statement and said “the Duke and Duchess have never cited privacy as the reason for stepping back.”

It’s likely that the apparent spat between both sides isn’t as cut and dry as it’s been made out to be. Only time will tell whether or not they can hash out their differences and reconcile with one another. What can be said at this point, however, is that after Prince Harry’s recent statements, the ball lies in Prince William and King Charles’ court.

What Harry And Meghan Are Allegedly Looking For 

In reports from outlets as varying as The Mirror and the The Times, all signs seem to indicate Meghan and Harry would like a "sitdown." Per the latter outlet, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle want to see the two sides come together before the coronation of King Charles III on May 6, 2023 (a date that is coincidentally Archie’s fourth birthday.) 

Allegedly if they do sit down with family members, The Duke and Duchess want to talk out the events that played out in Harry & Meghan. Plus, if reports are true, the couple is also upset that Prince William’s godmother, Lady Susan Hussey apologized to charity boss Ngozi Fulani for racial comments she had previously made. The Times reports “the couple were particularly incensed” about how the latter event played out and supposedly want their own apology after sharing a story about racism affecting Meghan during their infamous Oprah interview. They are allegedly upset because when they’d raised similar concerns they felt “nothing like that was ever done.” 

How The Royals Allegedly Feel About This Sitdown

There's a one-word descriptor for how the rest of the family is reportedly feeling about all of this. Following these initial reports, one expert says the family is feeling “baffled” by this desire for a sitdown. Still, according to Shannon Felton Spence (via Fox News), it could happen. The bigger question is: What’s the point? The royal expert explained: 

Some sources indicate the family may be waiting for Prince Harry’s book to be released before any decision-making is made. The book, Spare, is said to be not-so-flattering about Queen Consort Camilla. It is expected to hit shelves on January 10, 2023. A separate report over at The Mirror hedges the Royal Family may be waiting to make decisions about the titles of Harry and Meghan’s kids, Archie and Lilibet, until the new book is out. This is also rumored, but given the website for the family has not been updated to reflect changes since Queen Elizabeth II’s death, there is some evidence for this. 

Harry and Meghan are also rumored to be weighing their options regarding whether or not they plan to attend his father’s coronation ceremony.  Complicating this situation further, Shannon Felton Spence also believes the family is “refusing to respond” until the couple admits their own part in this ongoing saga, noting:

Prince Harry has spoken about disliking the attention he and his family receive in the past. Plus, given the whirlwind of all of these rumors there is probably nuance and varying feelings among different individuals, but it does seem that with the release of Harry & Meghan there are further tensions to be worked out. For now, the two sides may be at a bit of a standstill.

Much like Prince Harry and Meghan Markel’s revealing interview with Oprah, the couple's new Netflix docuseries Harry and Meghan on the 2022 TV schedule is dropping a lot of new information about the royal couple and everything they’ve gone through. The first three episodes dropped this morning, and people were quick to pick up on the use of a controversial interview of Harry’s mother Princess Diana, which is an interview the BBC said it would never license again. 

The trailers for Harry and Meghan use old footage to present an argument about how terribly they’ve been treated by the press. In the trailers alone we learned about the threats the couple faced before they left the UK. Now that the first three episodes are out we are learning even more about the couple’s journey from dating, to a royal engagement, to them eventually stepping away from their royal duties and moving to the United States, and how they were treated in the eyes of the press. The Duke of Sussex also talks about how his mother was treated by the media, which is how we come to this BBC clip. 

Before the clip is played during the first episode of Harry & Meghan, Prince Harry said: 

Harry’s remarks appear to contradict the narrative the royals have created around this interview. Prince William has said previously (via Deadline) that the BBC interview of his mother “holds no legitimacy and should never be aired again.” 

In the Panorama interview from November 20, 1995, Princess Diana talked about how the media treated her, and in the Netflix docuseries they used a clip from it where she said: 

According to Deadline, this interview became notorious for Diana saying “there were three of us in the marriage,” in reference to now-King Charles, and his relationship with now-Queen Consort Camilla Parker-Bowles. This part of the interview is not shown in the documentary. 

Following the clip of his mother in the Netflix series, Harry said:

This interview of Princess Diana is controversial, and Martin Bashir, the BBC reporter conducting the interview, is now disgraced. According to the article, this interview from 1995 generated headlines recently when it was portrayed on The Crown. Diana’s brother Earl Charles Spencer asked for a review of the BBC and how Bashir was able to get the interview. 

What came to light was Bashir had used fake bank notes to get Diana’s trust, and in a report from Lord Dyson the BBC was condemned for “woeful incompetence.” This led to the resignation of Director General Tony Hall, who was the head of news at the time of the interview, from his role as Chairman of the National Gallery. After this report was published the BBC donated about $1.8 million to charities linked to the princess, they also said the company would never license the interview again according to the Deadline. 

The article notes that it’s unclear if Netflix obtained the rights to the Panorama clip for Harry & Meghan before the BBC said they wouldn’t license the interview anymore. 

Harry & Meghan is already generating a lot of coverage. For those with a Netflix subscription, the first three episodes are available now and the next three will be released on December 15. 

Kate Middleton, the Princess of Wales, has spent a lot of her time as part of the Royal family attending to engagements with her husband Prince William. While she’s shown her own grace and fashion sense on the world stage, the Duchess of Cambridge has also paid homage to Princess Diana over the years. This was true once more during her recent trip to the U.S. with husband Prince William, in which she showed off a choker her husband’s mother had worn.

Prince William and Kate were in the States, specifically Boston, this week. The two attended a slew of events on their Boston tour, including meeting up with Mayor Wu, attending a Celtics game and visiting Harvard University.  Among these events was the Earthshot Prize Awards, in which Princess Kate wore a green dress (she’d rented, per Page Six) and a green choker that had been loaned to Diana by Queen Elizabeth II. 

The look was a reminder of a green choker on green dress look Princess Diana had herself worn with the notable piece of jewelry. Although, it’s perhaps not as notable as the time the late Princess wore the green sparkler as a headband rather than a choker. 

As for the Solace London look Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge wore, the exact silhouette may be elusive, but the green color is a popular one for the brand. Contemporary (and slightly more approachable) looks in the color can be found at places like Revolve and at Net-a-Porter, which does still offer an off-the-shoulder glam dress.) I particularly like this one in the vivid “bright green” shade.

Or you can do as Kate does and rent. 

Meanwhile, this isn't the first time the Duchess of Cambridge has paid tribute to Princess Diana. She also tends to wear the sapphire engagement ring that used to belong to Diana and has worn other infamous jewelry in the past. In addition, the couple's child Charlotte also has Diana in her name: Charlotte Elizabeth Diana. The young princess was also christened in the same church in Sandringham her grandmother was, St Mary Magdalene Church.

Prince William has reflected on the past about how much Princess Diana has missed over the years, but he and the family do a good job of reflecting back to her and remembering her over time, including on this latest trip. 

Interestingly, Prince William and his wife's big adventure has come at a time when the spotlight is also being shone on his younger brother Prince Harry in the U.S. For months as part of their Netflix deal Harry and Meghan had allegedly been working on a documentary from their own mouths. There had been some drama attached to the Netflix docuseries before the Harry & Meghan trailer's release, but it's coming soon.  

Between that and the recent release of The Crown Season 5 there's been plenty on the Royal Family to come out way in recent weeks, but this Princess Diana tribute certainly, well, takes the crown...

It’s not every day that a little girl who wants to grow up to be a princess gets to meet an actual princess. When little Callie Rose was at an event where Kate Middleton and Prince William were in attendance, the little girl interrupted the Prince of Wales in a heartwarming way. 

This all happened while the Prince and Princess were in Scarborough on November 3 to talk about the cost of living crisis, and launch funding that will support children’s mental health with a program led by the Royal Foundation, People reported. Greatest Hits Radio Yorkshire Coast got an adorable video of the interruption. It’s so cute, check it out: 

Clearly, the couple was not phased by the little distraction in their speech. The Prince welcomed Callie Rose. Then she walked toward another person, he chuckled and waved at the little girl as he continued talking about the importance of the work the community was doing. 

The two royals also had a one-on-one interaction with Callie Rose at the event. She looked overjoyed to be meeting them, and she had some gifts for the couple as well. That moment was also captured by the radio channel as well, check it out: 

In the video, Middleton kneels down to chat with Callie Rose. The little girl is holding a sign and flowers, and the Princess of Whales looks overjoyed to be speaking with her. Prince William compliments her “gorgeous sparkly dress,” and Middleton thanks her for the beautiful flowers. 

The Princess then asked Callie Rose which flower is her favorite, and the three had a brief conversation about the various flowers in the bouquet. Clearly, this little girl's day had been made, and the royal couple seemed to appreciate the interaction as well. 

Middleton and Prince William, who are also parents of three young kids, also spent time with other children throughout the day, visiting various charities and a nursery. They also spent time outside interacting with the general public, posing for photos, and chatting with those who came out to see them. Based on this photo it looks like Middleton chatted with a few more little ones who came out to meet the princess. 

The couple has had many fun interactions with the public, celebrities and their families throughout the year. Adding this one to the list makes me happy because that little girl’s life seemed to be made by meeting the princess and prince. 

It’s not just this little girl who gets awestruck when meeting the royals though. Rami Malek once told a story about sitting behind them at the No Time To Die premiere, saying the experience was “rad.” Along with Malek, Tom Felton met the royal couple over Christmas, thanking them for inviting him and his mum to the event. 

Along with fun interactions with some fabulous actors, the royals have also told fun stories about the family. For example, last year Middleton was amused by the Queen’s insistence on cutting a cake with a sword. 

While the Prince and Princess of Whales are traveling around, helping fundraise, and meeting little princesses, the fictionalized version of their family is about to return to Netflix and the fall TV schedule. When it comes to the best Christmas movies, there are many directions a person could go in choosing their favorite. There are heart-warming classics like It’s a Wonderful Life, comedic mainstays like Home Alone or big holiday action films like Die Hard (wait, that is a Christmas movie, right?). But what about if you’re part of the Royal Family and have three little ones running around? Prince William just named his favorite Christmas movie, and it’s making me think it’s time to revisit this classic.

Prince William recently spoke to Radio Marsden Hospital’s radio station from Kensington Palace, revealing a certain Will Ferrell and Zooey Deschanel comedy to be his choice for favorite Christmas movie. His reasoning behind the choice (via Marie Claire) was pretty solid, as well.

Elf is a great choice for favorite Christmas movie, and I’d have to agree with the Duke of Cambridge about its humor standing up even after multiple viewings. It’s also the perfect choice for a father of three, and I’d give anything to see one of the Royal Family barging through the door, shouting, “I’m in love, I’m in love, and I don’t care who knows it!”

It's also interesting that Prince William chose a fun film like Elf, since Christmases at Buckingham Palace are pretty fancy affairs, filled with black-tie events. It’s nice that Prince William, with Kate Middleton and their children George, Charlotte and Louis, take the time during the holidays to wind down with tales of a human-sized elf passing through the seven levels of the Candy Cane forest, through the seas of swirly, twirly gum drops and right through the Lincoln Tunnel. It’s probably a needed escape from all of his royal demands.

If we’re talking about escaping, Prince William also didn’t choose any of the myriad royal-themed Christmas movies. Hallmark and Netflix, specifically, have an abundance of prince- and princess-themed holiday films, and while they are inexplicably addicting, perhaps some of those hit a little too close to home. Instead he went for New York City-based film a naive elf trying to bond with his father.

Elf is a feel-good classic with heartwarming messages of being yourself, singing loudly to spread Christmas cheer and eating your spaghetti with syrup on top. It’s no surprise that its humor holds up, with a cast that includes — on top of comedy legend Will Ferrell and Zooey Deschanel — Bob Newhart, Ed Asner, Kyle Gass, Andy Richter, Peter Dinklage and Amy Sedaris.

Tom Felton’s Instagram account has become one of the best places for celebrity sightings these days. When he’s not sharing fun reunion moments with his Harry Potter castmates, he’s giving us a glimpse of the other high-profile people he’s rubbed elbows with. Most recently, that’s included none other than members of the British Royal Family – more specifically William and Kate, who he joined up with for a good cause. 

In the Wizarding World franchise, Tom Felton played Draco Malfoy, the young Slytherin with friends in high places. While he’s all grown up now, and seems to be much less villainous off screen, one thing he has in common with his cinematic counterpart is a penchant for picking up famous friends. Just take a look at one of his most recent Instagram posts: 

It’s not every day that someone gets a chance to engage the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge in a conversation, especially not right in the heart of the infamous Westminster Abbey. Tom Felton doesn’t really live an “every day” kind of life, though, so it makes sense that he’d have such an opportunity. As he explains in the accompanying caption, the cause for the occasion was the upcoming ITV special, Royal Carols: Together at Christmas. 

According to the channel’s description of the program, it will combine secular and multi-faith moments and personal reflections from numerous guests, including first responders, teachers, and members of the armed services. The goal of the program is to help the UK come together and remember the importance of mental health and human connection after a year and a half of trials, tribulations and COVID-19-related lockdowns. 

While it’s not clear exactly what Tom Felton’s participation will be in the special, fans know he’s already done a lot to provide comfort to fans during this unprecedented time. He’s supplied fans with a steady stream of entertaining content, including videos of himself playing guitar, memes, and nostalgia-filled throwback photos from his Wizarding World days. In lieu of an in-person reunion last year, he hosted a virtual Holiday Home Party, including special guests like his on-screen dad, Jason Isaacs. 

Now that the world is slowly resuming more pre-pandemic activities, the actor seems to be busier than ever, while still keeping fans in mind. In addition to filming the ITV special with William and Kate, he also recently teamed up with other Harry Potter alums like Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson and Rupert Grint to film an upcoming reunion special. In celebration of the film series’ 20th anniversary, the HP crew headed back to another iconic, albeit fictional, UK landmark – Hogwarts. 

Fans can see Tom Felton alongside his new royal friends and other special guests on Christmas Eve. Meanwhile, the star-studded Harry Potter 20th Anniversary: Return to Hogwarts premieres on HBO Max on January 1, 2022. 

The moment Kristen Stewart found out she was going to play Princess Diana in Spencer, she dove headfirst into research. In addition to watching shows like The Crown and devouring biographies, she also paid close attention to the Princess of Wales’ relationships with her children, Princes William and Harry. Now, ahead of the film's release, Stewart is revealing more of her acting process when it comes to the late royal's famous progeny. 

Princess Diana’s beloved sons were a major part of her life. So in order to accurately portray her in a film about her family, it’s only natural that Kristen Stewart would delve into their background. The Windsors were often in the public eye, making it easy to study their social interactions. In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, the actress described Diana’s relationship with her children: 

Any mother would feel protective of her children, but that went double for the late philanthropist. Princes Harry and William were so often the subject of intense media scrutiny, and she tried to shield them from the brunt of it. However, she also seemed very happy when she went out with them, which differed from her somber mien in some other childless appearances alongside then-husband Prince Charles. Kristen Stewart acknowledged the royal's maternal side, as well as the importance of treating her filial relationships with respect. She said: 

While the Twilight alum isn't a mother herself, she does relate to the emotions associated with the task. After all, part of being an actor is empathizing with people who have had different experiences and imagining how one would feel in that given situation. The star further explained:

If you’ve been on the Internet this weekend, you’ve probably already heard that Prince William has been declared the World’s Sexiest Bald Man -- not to be confused with Sexiest Man Alive Michael B. Jordan. This occurred after a research firm went through Google search data and found the English prince, who is second in line to the throne, had been searched in combination with the word “sexy” a sum of 17.6 million times. Now other sexy bald man Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson has shared his take on the title, and it’s an A+.

While one might expect The Rock to take a little bit of offense to not being the sexiest bald man in the whole wide world, it seems he has never considered himself for the title in the first place. In fact, he was downright offended that Curb Your Enthusiasm Star Larry David did not land the title, noting on a Twitter post related to the title that he would be “demanding a recount.”

Unfortunately for both Dwayne Johnson and Larry David, neither of them even made the Top 5 when it came to sexy famous bald men. Instead, the Top Five was rounded out by some other actors and sports stars. Along with Prince William in the #1 slot, famous boxer and bald man Mike Tyson was #2. Following Mike Tyson was Dwayne Johnson’s Hobbs and Shaw co-star Jason Statham, singer Pitbull and Michael Jordan, who needs no introduction (info via The Sun).

Now that I have the full Top 5 in front of me, I’m realizing just how bald the Hobbs and Shaw franchise really is. Still, it’s worth noting Dwayne Johnson is an actor who was actually famous before he was bald. As a wrestler his hair was varying lengths, but he started shaving it around 2010, when his movie career was kicking into gear with projects like The Tooth Fairy. By the time The Rock played Hobbs for the first time in 2011’s Fast Five, he was rocking the shaved head look. It's also worth pointing out the actor did make it in the Top 10, landing in the 9th spot (2.6 million searches) just ahead of his other Fast co-star Vin Diesel, who nabbed the #10 slot (2.3 million searches).

As for Larry David, Curb Your Enthusiasm’s “bald bastard” -- a nickname that used to make Larry David laugh on set -- told Jimmy Kimmel a few years ago that he had "never flirted with a toupee," embracing his baldness proudly after Kimmel asked him if he was self-conscious about his hair loss.

Anyway, as of yet, Larry David has not commented on The Rock's pronouncement, but I doubt The Jungle Cruise star is the only one on the interwebs to feel this way.

Following Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey, the Royal Family responded with a pretty generic statement saying the two and their son Archie will always be members of the family and that the issues they raised were concerning and would be taken seriously. Now Prince William has addressed the matter for the first time, as well.

In a walk and talk style interview, complete with a mask, Prince William told the reporters present he has not spoken to his brother Prince Harry yet, but he will be doing that soon. He denied the allegations of racism against the Royal Family. Here’s a portion of his quote, as seen in a video from The Daily Mail…

On the one hand, it’s nice to hear someone from the Royal Family speak off the cuff about the interview rather than via a statement that was clearly crafted by an army of publicists and lawyers. On the other hand, there’s obviously not a ton to this statement, though it is very telling that Prince William and Prince Harry haven’t spoken since the interview, which dealt with some very difficult topics. That seems like the sort of thing both brothers would want to sync up about, but they’re clearly just not that close, probably for a wide variety of reasons.

The extended interview touched on a wide variety of different topics. Meghan Markle talked at length about how trapped she felt and the depression she dealt with. She also spoke about the difficulty of adjusting to life in the Royal Family and how her new relatives (allegedly) didn't make her life and the period of adjustment very easy. Response to those portions of the conversation have been pretty wide-ranging and extensive, but there has also been a lot of reaction to the couple's reveal that they were asked questions about what color skin their baby might have.

The last story, along with conversations around whether the Royal Family was proactive enough in trying to help Meghan Markle deal with the vicious attacks she was taking from Britain's tabloids, have caused some to ask questions about the Crown's views on race. In the time since the interview aired, many articles have been written on the subject including some that touch on the institution's concerning history with race.

It's unclear where everyone involved will go from here. Meghan Markle and Prince Harry didn't really go out of their way to slam individual family members, particularly Prince William and Kate Middleton during the interview. Prince Harry even said he feels "huge compassion" for his brother because he's "trapped." Given Prince William said in his above comments he's planning to reach out, this whole situation may lead to some positive momentum in their relationship. Either way, it seems clear Prince William is planning to keep on with his Royal duties and Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have plenty of publicity and a big Netflix deal to carry them forward.

Just a hop, skip and a couple of days after Meghan Markle and Prince Harry dropped numerous bombshells on Oprah Winfrey over at CBS, the Royal Family has made an official statement, thus breaking the silence on some of the claims the Duke and Duchess of Sussex made. Specifically, in terms of comments Meghan Markle made alleging a member of the Royal Family had voiced concerns about the color of their child Archie’s skin before his birth.

The bombshell statement spread like wildfire as the interview was airing and after it aired Sunday evening on CBS. The next day, Oprah Winfrey herself cleared up some of the claims, stating on a Good Morning America appearance that it was neither Queen Elizabeth or Prince Philip who had made the claims. Here is the Royal Family’s official statement on the matter:

The statement, made on “Royal communications” stationary to boot, was featured by Harper’s Bazaar Royal Editor Omid Scoobie on social and on various other outlets online. It’s the first official statement the palace has made about the Duke and Duchess of Sussex since they officially left their Royal Duties back in February. Just a few weeks ago, it was "officially" confirmed that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex would no longer be "returning as working members of the Royal Family." At the time, the press release mentioned "all" were "saddened by the decision."

This leads to another point of contention in which the official release by the Royal Family and the stories from Meghan Markle and Prince Harry don't quite match up. In the interview, both Harry and Meghan said that they wanted to continue to be a part of the Royal Family with its duties, just no longer as "Senior" members, which they say would have given them more freedom and flexibility. At the time, they had already moved from the U.K., first to Canada and then to the Los Angeles area.

From their points of view, they weren't given the option to only partially step down, which led to other issues and inconsiderations, like losing security for Archie and Meghan, but also Prince Harry, who said he was surprised given he didn't choose his role in society but inherited it. This was only one of many stories that Markle in particular told about her life at the palace, and the biggest had to do with race. Prince Harry confirmed the aforementioned Archie story, noting a role family member had question how dark their first child might be, and that the conversation happened right at the beginning of his marriage, noting,

Both the Duke and Duchess of Sussex declined to mention who in the Royal Family had voiced any concerns over how Archie might look when he was born.

Meanwhile, the CBS interview with Meghan Markle and Prince Harry was the first foray the formerly Royal Family members took into the world of entertainment. They have also kicked off their own production company and will be producing content for Netflix moving forward. Though Prince Harry says he still has a legacy from his famous mother Princess Diana, he and Markle will be supporting themselves through their ventures moving forward, though it's worth noting Prince Harry and Meghan Markle already put the kibosh on plans to trademark Sussex Royal after leaving their Senior duties, with rumors intimating the Queen may have had thoughts on that matter.

There’s a lot that has been written about the relationship between Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton, as well as their princely partners, Prince Harry and Prince William, in the time since Markle came onto the royal scene. A lot of the headlines have focused on Middleton and Markle’s seemingly frosty relationship, and now with a new feelings-driven interview with Oprah Winfrey on the way, will Meghan Markle expose the alleged rift between the two families?

So far, a preview for the upcoming interview, which is set to air on CBS, has seemingly revealed Meghan Markle is feeling “liberated” and ready to speak out about what happened during the time when she lived in the U.K. and ultimately why she and Prince Harry left to start over in the U.S. However, now insiders are saying that Meghan Markle doesn’t take a negative tact, at least when it comes to Kate Middleton.

A new report over at Page Six indicates that while tonight's big Oprah Winfrey and Meghan Markle sitdown will be filled with all sorts of juicy details, talking smack about her famous sister-in-law will not be one of them. An insider with knowledge of the situation actually says Markle had only “kind words” for Kate Middleton during the sit down.

This is separate from many of the reports that have indicated that there is a rift between Prince Harry and his brother Prince William as well as Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle. Reports have called their relationship “frosty,” particularly after Harry and Meghan ultimately decided to leave their Royal duties. That move has allegedly put more on Prince William and Kate Middleton’s plates.

One particularly notable report came in the Finding Freedom biography, which indicated there was an incident between Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle both were heading to the same location to go shopping and Middleton allegedly decided to take her own Range Rover, alone, instead of going with Markle. Kate Middleton later sent Markle flowers, but it may have been an instance of too little, too late.

In fact, the term “distant politeness” was used in the book to describe their relationship. Even if Meghan Markle chooses not to expose any issues or rifts between the two couples, that doesn’t necessarily mean the “distant politeness” comparison is inaccurate. It may just mean that the two families are a subject Markle isn’t really interested in touching publicly. It's also worth noting Kate Middleton did speak warmly about Meghan Markle when she was going through her first pregnancy, around the time that feud rumors were first swirling heavily. So, it hasn't been all frostiness all the time.

One subject that sounds like it will be coming up will be Thomas Markle, who spoke repeatedly with the press around the time of his famous daughter’s wedding. A letter Meghan Markle sent to her father in the hopes to heal their rift later became the subject of a lawsuit Markle filed after said letter was published in The Mail on Sunday and online. Markle sued after the outlet printed the letter, a lawsuit she recently won. The judge ordered the outlet to apologize on the front page following the lawsuit loss.

How To Watch Oprah Winfrey's Big Interview With Meghan Markle And Prince Harry

Meghan Markle will potentially touch base on her family, the press, and a slew of other topics, but we'll have to wait and see what she says about Kate Middleton and Prince Harry. The interview with Oprah Winfrey will air on CBS on Sunday, March 7 at 8 p.m. ET. The new show will be a two-hour affair on the Eye Network, running from 8-10 p.m.

In a rather disturbing and unfortunate situation that went down across the Atlantic, a dead body was discovered in the exterior grounds of the London home shared by Prince William and Kate Middleton's family. The body has not yet been properly identified, although the Metropolitan Police did initially misidentify the body, causing a bit of a kerfuffle in the process.

In a melancholic scenario that wouldn't feel so out of place at the start of an Agatha Christie mystery, a woman's body was found and pulled from the picturesque Round Pond in Kensington Gardens on Saturday, August 29. The pond is located directly in front of Kensington Palace, which serves as the home of Prince William, Kate Middleton and their children whenever they are staying in London. However, it does not appear as if either the Duke or Duchess of Cambridge were in the area that day.

According to Sky News, Prince William and Kate Middleton were with their kids in Scotland at Balmoral Castle, keeping socially distanced company with the Queen. While it was also stated that Princess Eugenie and hubby Jack Brooksbank also live on the property, it was unclear if anyone from the Royal Family was present at Kensington Palace the day the body was found. (Meghan Markle and Prince Harry certainly weren't around.)

Though the identity of the female has yet to be determined, authorities at first mistakenly thought the body was the artist Endellion Lycett Green, who is the granddaughter of the beloved former poet laureate Sir John Betjeman. Green had recently gone missing, and officials sought the public's help in trying to track her down. The 51-year-old's family understandably feared for the worst whenever Metropolitan Police contacted them to say they believed the body was Green's. Thankfully for them, that turned out to not be the case.

Endellion Lycett Green, better known to her friends as "Delli," was found to be alive and well this week, making the officials' initial assessment quite a misstep. Here's how John Lycett Green reacted after his sister was discovered to be safe, according to Daily Mail:

When Pippa Middleton got married back in 2017, it was a big deal. The famous sister of Kate Middleton wed James Matthews, former racecar driver and current finance manager. At the wedding, both Prince Harry and Prince William attended, and Matthews’ brother, reality star Spencer Matthews, served as the best man. Even Prince William and Kate’s kids participated. But there was a notable absence when Meghan Markle didn’t show and a new book indicates it all had to do with bums.

According to new book Finding Freedom: Harry and Meghan and the Making of a Modern Royal Family, then-royal couple Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were already concerned about Markle’s presence at the wedding given the media they had been dealing with while dating. Then, the book notes a report in The Sun came out calling out the event as “The Wedding of the Rears.”

Allegedly, following that report, any thought that the two might attend the event together went out the window. According to Finding Freedom (via Page Six), it seemed obvious the butt thing would be an ordeal, though news reports at the time only mentioned the concept of "no ring, no bring," and the difficulties of managing a private wedding with royal expectations and security as reasons Meghan Markle was not on the guest list. In this version, the memorable headline made the decision clear.

To understand this, one must go even further back in history to the historic 2011 wedding between Kate Middleton and Prince William, which was televised and viewed all around the world. Kate Middleton’s dress and the ceremony at Westminster Abbey were both notable, but the big tabloid story of the day was related to Pippa Middleton. More specifically, the story everyone seemed to latch onto was Pippa Middleton’s butt after she bent over to help keep her sister’s wedding dress from dragging the ground.

These days videos on the Internet are devoted to topics such as “How To Achieve Pippa Middleton Bum” – and those are the nicer videos on the subject. She’s taken it mostly in stride, though she once told Matt Lauer it “was embarrassing because it wasn’t planned.’ It’s also continually been a topic of conversation related to the Middleton sister and when Pippa Middleton was preparing to marry, the butt conversation came 'round again.

It’s important to note that Meghan Markle was not involved with the new book at all and that its authors chose to interview people near the palace and who knew both Harry and Meghan instead. Still, of all the stories in the book, if this one holds true it’s a bit of a bummer, though understandable given even I couldn’t resist a ‘bum’ related joke there.

Instead, it is fact that Meghan Markle skipped the wedding service so the focus could be on Pippa Middleton and James Matthews. She did join Prince Harry at the reception, with the book saying she wore a “decidedly unflashy long black gown.” Meanwhile, while Meghan Markle avoided the “rear” related headlines that night, her pal Jessica Mulroney attended and landed the butt-related headlines instead. So if that was the real reason she passed on the wedding, perhaps it wasn't the worst idea.

Never think that Prince William does not have a royally good sense of humor. The future King of England has jokingly revealed why he will not be watching Netflix’s pop culture phenomenon, Tiger King. It was all a part of a funny clip Prince William was participating in with Blackadder’s Stephen Fry for The Big Night In.

In the clip, Stephen Fry chats with Prince William when the topic of good TV suggestions come up. At the 1:33 mark, Prince William asks Fry if he has seen anything good. To which, Fry says he has heard positive things about the Netflix docuseries, Tiger King. Prince William’s response? Check out the clip below:

In case you missed it, Prince William’s response was, “I tend to avoid shows about royalty.” So, Prince William’s account is not one of the 64 million worldwide to tune into Tiger King, according to Netflix? Viewers know that Prince William is joking for many reasons. One of which is because he and his wife have revealed themselves as huge Game of Thrones fans, per Refinery29.

If this was true, though, can you imagine how many shows Prince William would have to deny himself? No Tiger King, Game of Thrones, The Tudors, The Crown, and so on. Okay, that last one is a bit more understandable. It is about Prince William’s family, after all, although that has apparently not been an issue for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.

This is not the first time that Prince William has shown off his pop culture acumen. Earlier this year, the royal congratulated Joaquin Phoenix on his award-winning performance in The Joker. He has also attended the BAFTAs with his wife, Kate Middleton. While his interest in films seems pretty concrete, his TV knowledge has been a bit more open-ended. Cut to Tiger King.

The smash-hit series’ impact has been widespread. From Jared Leto throwing an online viewing party to celebs jockeying to play the central role of Joe Exotic, a.k.a. the “king” Prince William referenced, it has been Tiger King chaos.

Now, if Prince William would like to watch a show like Tiger King minus the royalty factor, he has a lot of options to stream. Hopefully, all is not lost, and Prince William will eventually watch Tiger King (if he has not already) and offer the world his thoughts on it. Oh, and the after-show too. There was a lot worth hearing.

While Prince William has jokingly said why he plans to skip it, you can stream Tiger King on Netflix. The limited series has been among this year’s new content.
