Celebrity legal battles are always going to make news, but a couple of recent cases have captured attention unlike many others. Now, it turns out there’s a connection between them. Rebel Wilson’s ongoing battle with the producers of her freshman directorial effort involves some of the same people at the center of the fight between Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni.

One of the major revelations of the audio is the indication that Rebel Wilson, who has denied knowledge of a website that claimed that one of the producers of her film, The Deb, was engaged in illegal activity, may have known something after all. However, what also makes all of this interesting is that the people involved in the high-profile lawsuit are also involved in another.

Leaked audio has been obtained by THR, which appears to include Jed Wallace, a known Hollywood “fixer,” instructing publicist Mellissa Nathan to assert that one of the producers at the center of a legal battle with Rebel Wilson, Amanda Ghost, is actually a sex trafficker, despite the fact that there is no evidence to support such a claim. The recording also reportedly references Bryan Freedman’s involvement, who was Wilson’s lawyer at the time.

All three of these names are likely familiar to anybody who has been following the In Ends With Us legal battle between Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni, as all three have been mentioned at various points and have been part of their own legal battles. Including Justin Baldoni’s lawsuit against his former publicist.

Blake Lively And Justin Baldoni's Legal Battles Are Ongoing

One element of Lively and Baldoni's case is a series of text messages that were reportedly leaked by Baldoni’s former publicist, Stephanie Jones. The texts purported to plan a smear campaign against Blake Lively. Both Melissa Nathan and Jed Wallace were allegedly part of that, and Bryan Freedman was also representing Baldoni at the time.

The only thing truly made clear by this connection is the fact that these particular people are in high demand by celebrities going through legal battles that are likely to be quite expensive. It will be interesting to see what ultimately comes of this audio leak, as the accusations are significant. It's possible due to the connections that there could be ramifications in other cases as well.

While Lively and Baldoni have recently attempted to settle their legal dispute following Lively’s lawsuit accusing Baldoni of sexual harassment, there’s no indication that any settlement was reached, indicating the case will go to trial later this year. Even if an agreement is reached, Lively won’t be out of the legal woods yet, as Jed Wallace filed a defamation lawsuit against Lively last month. Lively’s own suit against Wallace was dismissed by a judge late last year, who claimed Wallace orchestrated an online smear campaign against her.

There’s a Pitch Perfect reunion happening in theaters with the new comedy, Bride Hard, being on the 2025 release calendar for this weekend. It stars Rebel Wilson and Anna Camp as best friends after the pair played Barden Bellas in the three Pitch Perfect movies. When looking ahead to the fourth installment of the series, they both already have some ideas for what Fat Amy and Aubrey could do next.

Anyways, Rebel Wilson’s thoughts on Pitch Perfect 4 definitely open up the question as to who of the Barden Bellas might get married for it.

I especially love what Anna Camp had to say about where she’d like Aubrey to land nearly a decade since we last caught up with the Bellas:

Now, wouldn’t that be hilarious? Aubrey is famously the most uptight of the Bellas and always kind of seems to want to be in control in her life. It’d be pretty fun to see her take a total 180 for Pitch Perfect 4.

When talking about their plans for the movie, Wilson pointed out how many of the main cast “are directors now” and could helm the new Pitch Perfect. Oof, that sounds brutal, to say the least. It's definitely not too far-fetched to hear that a star suffered some kind of an injury while making an upcoming action movie. However, that doesn't take away from the sheer shock of hearing that Wilson's nose was split open during the production of Bride Hard. If you've watched some of Wilson's best work, you'll surely know that she commits to her gigs. However, I'm not sure if Wilson (who's worked 16-hour days on a film) ever had to handle something like this while filming something.

After laying out what happened, the Hustle actress recalled what she was feeling amid the chaotic moment. (Honestly, I'm not sure if I would've been able to keep my cool during that ordeal.) Wilson then went on to explain how she was rushed to a hospital, before divulging what else needed to be done from there:

That's a wild way to wrap a project, to say the least! I’m glad all turned out well and that Rebel Wilson wasn't permanently disfigured as she said she could've been. I say that earnestly, as I'm a fan of hers. (I've also been living for Wilson's thoughts on Pitch Perfect 4 and hope that it's made at some point in the future.) The notion of suffering for one's art is something that's mentioned a lot, and I'd say that Wilson more than did that while making her latest film.

I'll also say that the plastic surgeon really did a great job because, as Wilson mentioned during her interview, you can't even tell she was even injured. Here's hoping that she avoids any other dangerous situations as time goes on. For now, know that you'll be able to see Bride Hard when hits theaters on June 20.

However, there’s nothing funny about the accusations she and the three producers of her directorial debut, The Deb, have made against each other. In the latest court filing, Amanda Ghost, Gregor Cameron and Vince Holden are calling Wilson a “bully” as they ask for a stay in their court date to do further investigation.

The trio of producers filed their lawsuit against Rebel Wilson in July, after the actress took to social media with accusations of “bad behavior” on set of The Deb that included embezzlement and trying to keep the movie from premiering at the Toronto International Film Festival (which it did in September). Amanda Ghost, Gregor Cameron and Vince Holden alleged that the actress made up “false and malicious lies” in retaliation for not being given writing and music credits. The documents read (per The Guardian):

The producers’ suit also accused Rebel Wilson of exhibiting inappropriate behavior on set, disappearing for long periods of time and threatening to ruin the movie’s financiers on social media.

Last month, the actress responded in her own countersuit, saying that Amanda Ghost, Gregor Cameron and Vince Holden were “scheming to embezzle” around $900,000 from The Deb’s budget, and that they’d retaliated against her for reporting it. She also repeated some of the allegations she’d made on social media that accused the producers of bullying and sexual misconduct. Wilson reported that Ghost allegedly sexually harassed 24-year-old Charlotte MacInnes, The Deb’s leading actress, which caused MacInnes to have a breakdown.

In addition to what she said about the producers, Rebel Wilson has also opened up about working 16-hour days on The Deb, saying that the stress of her work schedule affected her physical health, causing her to gain 30 pounds. She requested in her lawsuit that the defamation accusations against her be dropped.

A court date was set for November 21 to discuss Rebel Wilson’s request, but a new filing from the producers on October 29 has asked for a 90-day stay in order to further investigate. The trio alleges that after they filed their initial defamation suit against the actress, she threatened via email to “very publicly ruin them,” saying she was “going public.”

Days later, an anonymous website was created that allegedly called producer Amanda Ghost — who is reportedly of Indo-Trinidadian heritage — an “Indian Ghislaine Maxwell,” accusing her and Gregor Cameron (who is also Ghost’s husband) of “procuring young women for the pleasure of the extremely wealthy.”

The producers say they believe “discovery will yield further evidence that Wilson has aggressively spread such rumours about the plaintiffs,” therefore directly affecting whether their defamation claims should be thrown out.

This sounds like a terrible and messy situation for all involved, and we’ll have to wait and see what happens when each side pleads their case.

Anna Kendrick’s latest movie, Woman Of The Hour, arrived last weekend for anyone with a Netflix subscription, but amidst promoting the movie, she’s noticed she’s getting a lot more calls for Pitch Perfect 4 from the public. Oh, and her own mother, who even reached out to her about an idea she is “willing to sell.”

When Kendrick stopped by Chicks In The Office to talk about her thrilling directorial debut, she spoke to the possibility of the Barden Bellas reuniting after 2017’s third movie. As the actress shared, in the past six months particularly, she’s noticed the public is “really insistent” on another sequel about the a cappella group, including her mom. In her words:

As Kendrick shared on the podcast, she is getting calls for Pitch Perfect 4 so much that it’s even reaching text exchanges with her closest relatives. While on the show, she shared that her own mother has “an idea” for how the franchise could continue, but wouldn’t get into details over text. Oh, and she’s so serious about it, she started talking about getting the studios involved. Aca-scuse me, Mama Kendrick is clearly ready for her daughter to return just like fans!

Kendrick was then pressed about whether Pitch Perfect 4 was actually in the works, or something a lot of people want. Here’s how she responded:

Speaking of Rebel Wilson, back in May, the actress said there was a fourth Pitch Perfect “being developed” but the script had to be right first before moving forward. It doesn’t sound like Anna Kendrick is clued into the process, but it’s great to hear she’s up for it, should a good idea roll in. She continued:

Many of the Pitch Perfect gals are close friends in real life and have reunited multiple times in their personal lives, including for the movie’s 10th anniversary a few years ago. When CinemaBlend caught up with Brittany Snow earlier this year, she said she picked Anna Kendrick’s brain about directing while helming her own first feature, Parachute. Since the gals have kept up their bond so well over the years, it certainly feels like it’s only a matter of time before Pitch Perfect 4 happens.

However, every movie needs the budget to back it up, and as Rebel Wilson spilled earlier this year, Universal almost replaced the whole cast with younger actors for the third film, and it felt like “a kick in the face” to the original cast. Hopefully with all this conversation around another movie, we do see Anna Kendrick, Rebel Wilson and more in a sequel, because the people certainly want it!

When the first movie came out in 2012, it was a huge commercial hit considering it made $115 million against a $17 million budget. The 2015 sequel was even bigger with a worldwide box office haul of $287 million. However, the third movie saw its popularity take a dip with a (still impressive) $185 million haul. According to Wilson, for Pitch Perfect 3, the cast was almost completely replaced with a younger cast and it felt like a “kick in the face.”

She also claimed that after reporting the alleged issue, the three were retaliatory.

The three producers on the other end of the allegations subsequently filed their suit, in which they denied that they were “embezzling funds.” Per the filing, the trio also accused the Isn’t It Romantic star of holding the film captive in an attempt to receive screenwriting and music credits. They further claimed that the actress/director would disappear from the set for long periods of time and that she allegedly threatened to blast investors on social media. Amid the back-and-forth, Boy George also defended Amanda Ghost and Gregor Cameron. The singer is a longtime friend of Ghost’s and is the godfather of her and Cameron’s son.

As for production on the movie itself, Rebel Wilson dropped updates last year, revealing that she was working 16-hour days. She’d subsequently open up about the toll that way her massive work schedule was impacting her weight loss efforts. Now that her movie will be screened, it seems that the work wasn’t for naught. We’ll see how the movie plays amid TIFF and whether it manages to land on late spot on the 2024 movie schedule or (more likely) a fresh one as a 2025 film release. Even though the Pitch Perfect gals have been spending time outside of singing for the Bellas, they celebrated 10 years since meeting in 2021 with some fun at the beach.  

Even though we haven’t seen more Pitch Perfect movies, in 2022 a spinoff series for Adam DeVine’s character, Bumper In Berlin, was released. The series is available to stream with a Peacock subscription. Aside from Rebel Wilson’s exciting update on Pitch Perfect, the actress has been promoting her memoir, Rebel Rising, which hit bookshelves last month and has since become a bestseller. 

Hopefully, her sentiments about a fourth Pitch Perfect movie lead to one more story for the Barden Bellas! As we learn more, we'll be sure to keep you updated.

Thanks to Pitch Perfect's outstanding cast, the trilogy was a phenomenon. Of course, the ensemble memorably includes Rebel Wilson as fan-favorite Fat Amy. The character’s rambunctious behavior helped carry the Baden Bellas for all three films, especially since she had moments like that infamous Pitch Perfect 2 wardrobe malfunction. However, she almost wasn't able to star in all three films. Now, the Fat Amy actress has revealed why the OG cast was nearly replaced for the threequel, and how she helped change those plans.

The Pitch Perfect alum made the shocking revelation in her memoir Rebel Rising (via Insider). This possible change-up came on the heels of the sequel’s tremendous box office success, grossing over $287 million worldwide. Despite its success, the franchise’s home studio, Universal Pictures, wanted to refresh the franchise before filming for the third flick began. Wilson mentioned the Barden Bellas’ ages played a role in the suggested change, saying:

It’s understandable that Wilson and co. felt underappreciated and undermined after making the franchise quite successful. The first film was a sleeper hit-turned-cultural phenomenon, grossing over $115 million and bringing acapella to the mainstream. Of course, Pitch Perfect 2 appeared to set up Hailee Steinfeld as the next Barden Bella leader. However, it was the OG Bellas who helped the sequel to double the original’s gross. 

The Senior Year star went into further detail, saying Universal wanted her, Anna Kendrick, and the OG Barden Bellas to do a pass-the-torch scene with Steinfeld. However, Wilson had a secret weapon in her back pocket – her law degree. The Hollywood star used her degree to help the group, saying:

The sequel’s success helped Wilson and her co-stars secure their spots in Pitch Perfect 3. They used the box office numbers and research group data, which included Wilson’s housekeeper’s niece. She even got a huge payday of $10 million for the threequel. The comedic actress claimed she tried to get everyone to renegotiate, but managers got in the way.

The Pitch Perfect 3 story isn’t the first secret spilled from Rebel Wilson’s memoir. She called out former co-star Sacha Baron Cohen for allegedly creating a challenging on-set experience for her, which he adamantly denied. 

Wilson’s memoir, Rebel Rising, is currently available in bookstores. The Jojo Rabbit star has multiple projects in the works too, including the action-comedy Bride Hard, which doesn’t have a release date yet. The second time Annie infiltrates the first-class cabin, she is promptly approached by the flight attendant, and she tries to claim she’s not her, in fact, she’s actually meant to be in the seat she stole. However, the attendant isn’t buying it, and when he tries to get her out again, one of her last resorts to get into first class is to say “Help me, I’m poor,” in the funniest little voice. 

I'm not going to say I survived, I'm going to say I thrived. -Megan 

After we meet Megan and find out she’s recovering from falling off a cruise ship, she reassures Annie and the audience by saying she “survived.” Then she doubles down, saying that while she “hit a lot of railings” and a dolphin saved her through a telepathic connection she’s thriving. 

It's just... it's the first time I've ever seen you look ugly. And that makes me kind of happy. -Annie 

As Annie and Helen look for Lillian, they have the sweetest moment they’ve ever had, despite the fact that it’s over Kristen Wiig’s character hilariously insulting Rose Byrne’s character by saying she looks ugly. 

I look ugly? No I don't. I don't really look ugly. -Helen 

In direct response to Annie telling her she’s an ugly crier, Helen immediately tries to stop the tears and deny the claim. It’s very on-brand for Helen, and now that she and Annie are on OK terms, it makes this moment super funny. 

Do you want to tell a cop about it? We're just like priests except we would tell everybody afterwards. -Rhodes 

After a rough night, Annie runs into Rhodes at a gas station, and he uses this charmingly odd line to ask if she wants to talk about what’s been going on in her life, and it works!

I’m ready to party! -Annie 

Drunk, and feeling way better than she did a mere second before, Annie infiltrates first class to see Lillian and Helen. She’s relaxed, excited, and “ready to party!” And I think it’s safe to say this one-liner is one of the most iconic from Bridesmaids as it kicks off one of the funniest scenes in the movie. 

You're more beautiful than Cinderella. You smell like pine needles, and you have a face like sunshine. -Becca 

While incredibly drunk, Becca is trying to comfort Rita as they lament about their marriages. When Rita gets self-conscious, Ellie Kemper’s character retorts back with the silliest compliment that sounds like an inside joke from Parks and Recreation considering the way Leslie compliments Ann. 

Why can't you be happy for me and then go home and talk about me behind my back like a normal person? -Lillian 

After a disastrous party, Lillian confronts Annie over her behavior. Wiig’s character can’t stand that her best friend is hanging out with Helen, and her actions that arise out of those emotions are what cause Maya Rudolph’s passionate reaction. 

It's not a missing person until it's at least 24 hours. Have you ever seen CSI? Twenty-four hours. Let me get on with my job, Annie. -Rhodes 

Lillian had been MIA for 12 hours, and Annie and Helen got very nervous. So, they found Rhodes and did everything they could to get him to pull them over. Once they finally got him to acknowledge them, the cop firmly explained, using a fantastic pop culture reference to prove his point, that they can’t file a missing person report until it’s been 24 hours.

I have to go to the bathroom but I heard about a woman who went to the bathroom on the plane - she got sucked into the toilet. Sucked right in. -Nervous Woman on the Plane

Upping Annie’s plane anxiety, and making everything 100% worse is the hilarious nervous flyer sitting next to her. Played by the co-writer of Bridesmaids and Wiig’s hilarious Barb and Star Go To Vista Del Mar, Annie Mumolo, this cameo is chaotically wonderful, it helps escalate the plane sequence, and it’s a great line about plane suspicions that I think many have pondered at one point or another. 

Lillian and I took Spanish together in school. And so, I would just like to say to you and to everyone here, "Gracias para vivar en la casa, en la escuelas, en... en la azul... "marcada". Tienes con "bibir" en las Fortuashla?" and gracias! -Annie 

Attempting to one-up Helen’s speech, Annie takes the stage. After they go back and forth for a while, and Helen speaks in French to Lillian, Annie recites what she learned in high school Spanish in an attempt to best her. However, it’s just a bunch of gibberish as she strings words like house, school, and blue together while trying to remember her Spanish vocabulary. 

We would like to invite you to no longer live with us. -Brynn 

Before we knew Rebel Wilson for her movies like Pitch Perfect and Senior Year, she had a small role in Bridesmaids playing Annie’s housemate. While she wasn’t the one paying rent, she was the one to ask Wiig’s character to move out. 

I wouldn't want to make you explain what our relationship is to all those people. That would suck for you. -Ted 

Kristen Wiig’s Annie is in an on-again, off-again relationship…sort of…with Jon Hamm’s Ted. When she asks if he wants to go to Lillian’s wedding with her, he has the worst but also hilarious response. 

I took nine. I took nine. Yeah. I did slightly overcommit to the whole dog thing. It turns out I'm probably more comfortable with six. -Megan

Listen, Megan couldn’t get enough of the puppies, and she had to take them all home with her. However, as she said, nine might have been too many.

'Stove' what kind of a name is that? -Annie 

As Annie finally leaves first class, she confronts the flight attendant, named Steve, and she calls him Stove. She then promptly explains that that is not a good name, which leads to Steve correcting her, and her asking him if he’s an appliance, to which he hilariously responds “No I’m a man, and my name is Steve.” 

Hello, Helen. I've heard... wonderful things. -Rhodes 

Putting on a fake smile for a myriad of reasons, Rhodes realizes that the Helen he’s just been introduced to is the one who has been at the center of Annie’s issues for the whole movie. So, he sarcastically says the line above, and let me tell you, it’s pitch-perfect delivery. 

It's a good tub. I slept there for my 30th birthday. -Annie 

Lillian was freaking out about getting married, and she was specifically upset about leaving her apartment. So, while comforting her friend and listening as she listed off all the things she would miss, Annie chimed in when the bathtub was mentioned, reciting the fantastic line above. 

You're like the maid of dishonor. -Rhodes

Considering how poorly most of the events for Lillian’s wedding went, I can’t say this comment from Rhodes is wrong about Annie. 

This is such a stone-cold pack of weirdos, and I am so proud! -Lillian

Before things get gross in the bridal shop, the ladies have what they think is a nice lunch. Lillian shows her love for all of them by toasting her bridesmaids and saying they’re “a stone-cold pack of weirdos.” 

No one can get anywhere in 3 seconds. You're setting me up for a loss already. -Annie 

On his last nerve, the flight attendant tells Annie she needs to book it out of first, and she makes it very clear to him that the expectation he’s set is impossible to meet. 

This is kind of high-octane stuff that really made me want to become a cop. Missing girl found at her apartment. It's adrenaline-pinching. -Rhodes

Somehow delivering the line with both sarcasm and sincerity, Rhodes reacts to the news that Lillian is simply just in her apartment brilliantly. After low-key being tormented by Annie as she tried to get his attention, once they found Lillian, he had every right to be annoyed, but we got this sweet yet dry line instead. It’s perfect. 

I fell off a cruise ship, but I'm back. -Megan 

Bridesmaids is easily one of Melissa McCarthy’s best movies, and she proved that from the jump by having one of her first lines be about her trip that involved falling off a cruise ship.

Excuse me, um, could I have a glass of alcohol when you get a chance? -Becca 

While on the plane, Becca, a very wholesome gal, is having a conversation with Rita about her marriage and love life. In the middle of that conversation, a flight attendant comes by asking if they want a drink, and not really knowing what alcoholic beverage to order, Ellie Kemper’s character just says she’ll take “a glass of alcohol.”

I’m glad he’s single, ‘cause I’m gonna climb that like a tree. -Megan 

After asking the guy standing next to Annie if he’s her fella, Megan is told that the man is not with Annie, and quickly after that, Melissa McCarthy’s character is relieved because she wants him. 

They are cute, but when they reach that age, ugh. Disgusting. -Rita

As a mom of boys, Rita is very clear that while they’re cute when they’re babies, they are gross as they get older. After this line, she continues to go on and on, and it’s safe to say that she’s over living with them. 

I feel bad for your parents. -Annie

At Annie’s job, she gets into quite a verbal battle with a teen. While the kid is just as vicious, Annie is the one who gets in trouble for saying things like this funny and lethal line above, and ultimately she gets fired. 

I’m telling you, hitting bottom is a good thing. Because there’s nowhere to go but up. -Annie’s Mom

By reciting a lesson she learned at AA, which she’s not an alcoholic, Annie’s mom tries to give her daughter advice by saying that being at rock bottom only gives her room to grow. 

That dress is so pretty, it makes my stomach hurt. -Megan

Arguably, one of the reasons Bridesmaids earns its hard R-rating is the wedding dress store scene that devolves into the infamous bathroom moment, and it all begins when the girls realize they have stomach aches, and Megan says this funny line. 

Hold on for one more day. -Wilson Phillips

With one more hysterical surprise up her sleeve, Helen brings Wilson Phillips out to sing “One More Day” after Lillian and Dougie say I do. Meanwhile, Kristen Wiig and Maya Rudolph, who proved their physical comedy skills as part of SNL’s best casts, hilariously emphasized their comedy genius again by ending the movie lip-syncing during the performance, and it’s impossible to not walk out of this movie humming the tune. 

This should be open ‘cause it’s called civil rights. This is the ‘90s. -Annie

The first time Annie leaves first class, she opens the curtain separating those seats from the economy seats. As she’s heading back she also memorably tells the flight attendant why the classes of the plane shouldn’t be separated by claiming it’s an issue of civil rights that shouldn’t happen because it’s “the ‘90s,” which it isn’t, this movie came out in 2011, making the line even funnier.   

Physically, I don’t bloat. It’s a gift. -Megan 

As they’re enjoying lunch, Helen isn’t eating meat because she doesn't want to bloat. However, for Melissa McCarthy’s character, that’s not an issue, and the way she lets everyone know is fantastic. 

Don’t you dare laugh. -Lillian

The second Lillian walks out in her wedding dress, looking defeated, she tells Annie she’s not allowed to laugh at the giant poof of a gown. However, Kristen Wiig’s character can’t hold it in, and neither can Maya Rudolph’s and they both end up cracking up, even though she said not to. 

While Bridesmaids terrified director Paul Feig, because a comedy like it really hadn’t been made before, the film proved to be a classic. To this day, many of these amazing quotes are still talked about, and it’s impossible not to laugh at them. 

Hollywood has a long history of well-documented feuds, ranging from Val Kilmer's disputes with Marlon Brando to the notorious disagreements between Bette Davis and Joan Crawford, as well as more recent clashes like Bill Murray with Lucy Liu and the car crash-inducing dispute between Tom Hardy with Charlize Theron. In her new memoir, Pitch Perfect star Rebel Wilson hints at a conflict she had on one of her film’s sets with an "asshole." Facing what she alleges to be intimidation tactics from a professional PR team, Wilson is taking a stand. He has decided to break her silence by naming her The Brothers Grimsby co-star Sacha Baron Cohen as the individual she refers to in one of the chapters of the upcoming release, revealing this in a candid social media post.

While Sacha Baron Cohen is known for his humorous characters, his former co-star paints a different picture of the man behind the comedy. Wilson and the Borat star played a married couple in the 2016 comedy Grimsby (The Brothers Grimsby in the US) and the actress has been vocal about her challenging experiences during filming. Just when you think you have an idea how a scene is done and then an on-set bomb is dropped that makes you want to rewatch it again. Another interesting fact about that Bellas national scandal scene was that the Bridesmaids actress said it took her five weeks to nail down that stunt which truly is impressive as she said.

I can’t believe I was today years old when I found out the buttcrack shown by Fat Amy in Pitch Perfect 2 was actually drawn in. While Rebel Wilson is one of the more humorous stars known around the entertainment industry, she’s also emerged as one of the most candid. The Australia-born actor doesn’t seem to have a problem opening up about certain aspects of her professional and personal life. When it comes to the latter, she’s been particularly honest about her body and how it’s changed. She just recently revealed that she picked up 30 pounds as a result of her work schedule. As mentioned, this is far from the first time that Rebel Wilson has discussed her weight with the general public. In the past, she spoke at length about her “year of health,” which spanned the vast majority of 2021. Wilson lost a total of 70 pounds and managed to maintain her new physique due to staying active. Fans seemed surprised by just how much weight she shed, and the change was even met with pushback from Wilson’s own team.

She’s certainly discussed the highs but, as seen with this post and others, she doesn’t shy away from the lows either. In 2022, she spoke about gaining weight while on vacation and having to deal with the “guilt” of that. Staying committed to a health plan can definitely be challenging, whether you’re contending with work obligations or personal activities. What can, at the very least, be said of the Senior Year star, though, is that she appears to be trying her best. Rebel Wilson has a lot going on for her as a working actress and being a new mom after the birth of her first child. But it’s a hard time being an actress right now with the ongoing 2023 Writers Strike and SAG-AFTRA strike happening. A number of projects have been put on pause until an agreement has been made. But the Pitch Perfect actress has explained why the strikes haven't stopped her from working on a movie 16 hours a day.

Everything seems to be looking up for Rebel Wilson. She went viral for her 70-pound weight loss, she recently got engaged, and is the parent to a baby girl. The Australian actress has a reason why she’s not affected by the actor’s strike as she took to Instagram to explain why she’s committing 16 hours a day towards her new movie.

There you have it. Rebel Wilson may not be working as an actress right now, but she’ll be making her directorial debut filming an Australian indie film. I just can’t help looking at the Senior Year actress’s Instagram selfies looking pretty in pink in front of a beach background. Whether she’s serious or all smiles, Wilson looks like she’s in a good place in her life. I’m not the only one who feels that way. Many Instagram users commented on how beautiful and happy she looked. One user even commented, “When You smile… The Whole World smiles with You!” I’d have to agree.

In her first directorial debut, Rebel Wilson proved that her musical roots have continued to stay with her. According to Variety, this upcoming movie is called The Deb which is an adaptation of a musical-comedy set in the Outback. It originally premiered last year at Sydney’s Australian Theatre for Young People and won the 2019 Rebel Wilson Comedy Commission, a scholarship program to encourage young female writers. The plot follows two women from different cultures looking for self-acceptance and a date for the Debutante Ball. 

Wilson knew this was the perfect project to make her mark as a director as she took part in a lot of musicals and produced musical numbers like in the Netflix film Senior Year. As she kept getting directing offers from studios, the Cats actress figured taking a year off from acting to start directing needed to be a project she was passionate about. Another reason this is a passion project for Wilson is to see the heart of her home country being represented. We'll be seeing multiple references to Australia's well-known films and the rising talent of Australian natives you'll be introduced to.

The 43-year-old actress is not the only one working during the actor’s strike. Stars like Jenna Ortega, Matthew McConaughey, and others have still been working during this unpredictable time due to an “interim agreement.” This allows certain projects to continue working without violating the strike order. There are reportedly 45 projects that are on this list that are not operating under a studio contract. Examples are A24’s Death of a Unicorn starring Paul Rudd and Jenna Ortega and The Rivals of Amziah King starring Matthew McConaughey. So it looks like not all performers are without work during this time.

Rebel Wilson made the smart decision to take on her directorial debut during the actor’s strike when it’s hard to be in front of the camera. I’m sure her 16-hour daily commitment will be all the more worth it when her new movie comes out sometime next year. The race to become the next face of the James Bond movies continues to be a subject of interest, with no end in sight for the foreseeable future. However, we could be closer to the finish line, as there actually has been at least one audition held for Bond 26’s eventual casting blitz. Surprisingly enough, that news comes from an interview with Rebel Wilson, who says that she actually scored a test for the next 007 adventure through a recent hosting gig. 

The Pitch Perfect star dropped this revelation while speaking with Variety. Apparently, this audition came from Wilson’s recent stint as the host of the BAFTAs, as the occasion required her to vet Bond themed gags she planned for the show through franchise producers Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson. Reflecting on the experience cryptically, Rebel Wilson had this to say: 

 Naturally, we don’t know what role she was auditioning for, nor was it shared whether she’d secured that position or not. So if Wilson’s being tested for her ability to keep a secret from one of the most secretive movie franchises of all time, she’s probably passed with flying colors. 

What makes Rebel Wilson’s story all the more interesting is that her role as host of the BAFTAs took place not too long before Barbara Broccoli revealed that Bond 26 didn’t even have a script. Whether a draft had been handed in shortly after that statement, or if Wilson tested for a basic concept of a character that could be featured, is not clear. Again, the cloak and dagger world of Commander Bond doesn’t merely extend to his fictional adventures; so being in this level of darkness is no surprise.

There is a potential takeaway that we might be able to glean from the Cats star being asked to test for a James Bond movie, and it’s all about tone. With some fans hoping to break away from the super serious tone of the Daniel Craig’s James Bond movies, there’s a chance that Bond 26 might be hewing closer to the humorous themes that some of the classics possessed. In other words, Roger Moore’s James Bond movies just might be in line with what we should expect in this new era of martini madness.

It wouldn’t be the first time a movie series would be auditioning leads with material outside of the final script. As we learned from Cloverfield’s production without a finished script, you can’t exactly spill the beans when the beans aren’t all canned in the first place. Then again, Quantum of Solace started shooting without its full story, and we all know how well that went over with some of the fandom. 

No matter what happens from this point, Rebel Wilson’s life is going to be a lot more interesting thanks to this James Bond story. Until we find out whether or not she’s been cast, interviewers are bound to be asking more questions about her audition experience. Either this film could have had the potential to reach a whole new generation of fans or have audiences completely weirded out by the non-formulaic plot and singing human-like cats. Rebel Wilson was part of the A-list cast showing off their feline looks and had a funny reaction watching this box office-bombed film for the first time.

Poorly received movies like Cats aren’t always the ones that cast members have any regrets about being a part of, sometimes they're an excuse to have a good laugh. Rebel Wilson let the cat out of the bag, so to speak, sharing her light-hearted reaction to watching Cats during a recent appearance on Bravo’s Watch What Happens Live. She said:

That must have been so strange to see yourself and everyone around you wearing tight outfits, only to see Cats’ viral CGI look for the finished product. It could be very hard to know what to make of it. It might have been less strange if they were wearing full costumes like the stage musical. But in this CGI world we live in, why not try to make this A-list ensemble look realistically like cats using special effects while still being able to tell who’s portraying these characters? 

The problem was that audiences were more freaked out by the characters’ appearances than impressed. The internet had a field day when the Cats trailer premiered seeing these stars we know and love exhibiting feline features while still looking human. After viral responses, its controversial CGI changed for the finished product. Rebel Wilson absolutely loved the wild responses to the first trailer, with audiences being able to see small glimpses of this talented cast in digitally-added fur. 

Rebel Wilson wasn’t the only person who had an awkward reaction to watching Cats. After suffering a brutal box office opening of $6.5 million, the wildest review comments mentioned how all the cats looked “horny AF” with every song screaming “Hi, I’m the asshole cat.” Theater junkie Evan Rachel Wood was “speechless” and horrified by Cats being a movie adaptation as she clearly knew the Broadway musical very well. James Corden, who played Bustopher Jones, didn’t even bother seeing the Razzie-winning movie after hearing “it’s terrible.” 

Despite the largely negative reception Cats got, the cast looks back on this failed musical movie with humor. The Pitch Perfect actress joked about the movie at the BAFTAs for a “distinct lack of nominations for felines.” She even managed to spoof Cats with James Corden at the 92nd Annual Oscars wearing the costumes that probably should have made it into the film instead of the CGI mess audiences endured. 

This Australian actress clearly has no regrets about showing off her prowess and even managing to lose eight pounds in four days of filming with all of that dancing. Lots of celebrities are serious theme park fans just like so many of the rest of us. Rebel Wilson is one of those. She got engaged at Disneyland and posts pictures of herself at Disneyland quite frequently. And her celebrity status has gotten her into some really special opportunities, like dinner at the exclusive 21 Royal Restaurant. However, it turns out that even celebrities can overstep their bounds, as apparently she was banned from Disneyland, though only for a month.

Appearing on The Daily Show with guest host Hasan Manaj, Wilson admitted that she once took a picture someplace in the park that she  wasn’t supposed to, specifically a “secret bathroom.” She was banned from the park where she got engaged for 30 days, though the park apparently worked with her to ensure the ban didn’t hurt too much. She explained…

Wilson doesn’t reveal exactly where this “secret bathroom” was but there are lots of places where Disneyland wouldn’t allow photos to be made public. The entire backstage area is off-limits to pictures and she certainly might have found her way back there. She also has dined at 21 Royal, the restaurant that was formerly the Disneyland Dream Suite. This was a space that was originally constructed to be a new apartment for Walt Disney inside the park, though he died before he was ever able to use it.

Wilson says that when she was at Disneyland for her 40th birthday, she spent the night inside the park, so she likely slept there as well, and there may have been parts of it that Disneyland doesn’t want to be made public. Check out Wilson's full interview below.

And now Wilson has responded after the Australian Press Council ruled in her favor regarding the outing.

Rebel Wilson revealed her relationship with girlfriend Ramona Agruma back in June. While the post itself was adorable, it was later revealed that she came out because the Sydney Morning Herald would have alternatively run a story and outed her in the process. But now that those actions have been condemned by the APC, Wilson once again took to Instagram. She responded, posting:

Well, there you have it. While Rebel Wilson clarifies that she didn’t actually seek any legal action against the publication, she’s happy that her situation was officially deemed as unethical by the Australian Press Council. For his part, the journalist has personally admitted to wrongdoing. And now hopefully she and her partner can move on from the affair; they certainly seem super happy.

While Rebel Wilson seems to be in a good place, it’s no doubt vindicating for the Australian Press Council to condemn the actions of the journalist who nearly told her story themself. 

While comments on Rebel Wilson’s recent Instagram post are turned off, smart money says that they would have been filled with encouraging words from colleagues and fans alike. The public has been behind the Senior Year actress since she revealed her relationship with Ramona Agruma over the summer. And hopefully the ruling by the APC will hep dissuade this type of outing from happening to another queer celeb in the future.

Kourtney Kardashian and Travis Barker, who tied the knot in Italy this past spring, recently celebrated the first anniversary of their engagement. The Kardashian faithful may remember that Barker got down on bended knee at Montecito, California’s Rosewood Miramar Beach hotel. For the one-year anniversary, Barker recreated the proposal, complete with the flowers and musicians. Rebel Wilson was practically next door when the event took place, and posted about it on her Instagram stories:

Yesterday, the world lost one of its truly great talents with the news that Olivia Newton-John had passed away. While no official cause of death was given Newton-John had been battling breast cancer for years. The woman was a talented singer and actress who had hit songs and iconic movie roles and was a major influence on a lot of stars that came after her, and so you can be sure there were many who had strong emotions following the news that she was gone.

While Olivia Newton-John had several major film roles as well as musical hits, for many, she will always be Sandy from 1978’s film adaptation of Grease. It has become one of the truly iconic movie musicals, and it turned her and her co-star John Travolta into movie stars. The film became a permanent part of both of their careers, bringing Travolta and Newton-John together again and again over the years. Travolta took to Instagram to say goodbye to his friend. 

Olivia Newton-John had nearly 90 acting credits to her name at the time of her death, but most of those are music videos for her many songs. For many she was a pop star first and an actress second. She’s a member of the Australian Recording Industry Hall of Fame and her song “Physical” spent more time at number one than any other song by an Australian artist. Fellow Aussie Kylie Minogue posted about what an influence Olivia Newton-John was to her. 

Mariah Carey was another singer who spoke on Instagram about how much she loved Newton-John, going so far as to dress as Sandy for Halloween one year. Later, Carey and Newton-John would share a stage and perform together. 

While Olivia Newton-John was best known on screen for Grease and the cult classic Xanadu, she continued to act regularly in film and television until 2020. One of her more recent movies was 2011’s A Few Best Men, which co-starred a pre- Pitch Perfect Rebel Wilson. Wilson wrote about how Newton-John inspired her to be a performer, believing that she could succeed while still being true to herself as Australian. 

Another Australian whose life was greatly influenced by Olivia Newton-John was Hugh Jackman. He admits in an Instagram post that Newton-John was his first crush, and calls getting to know her personally one of the great privileges of his life. Jackman would also go on to become a multidisciplinary threat, and would even sing Newton-John’s part of “Summer Loving” with John Travolta at one point.  

Clearly, Olivia Newton-John’s career, in addition to being incredibly successful, also inspired others to chase their own dreams. In that way Olivia Newton-John's life will continue long after she is gone.

Rebel Wilson seems to be currently living her best life. The star of Netflix’s Senior Year has been on an extended vacation spanning multiple continents and countries in recent weeks. This weekend she ended up at the Wimbledon finals, but just before that she stopped off for a delightful stay at the brand new Kaya Palazzo resort Palazzo Mansions in Turkey, where she enjoyed a guilt-free breakfast in the water, on a tray. So fancy.  I mean take a look. Have you ever seen anything like this before? 

The trend is called a floating breakfast, and it has been running around at luxury resorts in recent months. In fact, resorts from the Maldives to Bali offer exclusive breakfasting experiences in exotic locations, and now it looks like travelers can add the Palazzo Mansions to the list. Rebel Wilson called staying at the resort the “best private salt lake experience” she’s ever seen in a separate Stories post, and from what we got of the view, it looked to be a lovely way to spend your vacation. 

Other Stories footage showed a bright turquoise-looking lake and a wide swathe of nature featuring trees and the tucked-in resort. Not a bad way to spend the a.m. at all. 

The vacation post comes just a few days after Rebel Wilson opened up about the lengthy trip which she embarked on after after introducing the world to her girlfriend Ramona Agruma. Traveling has been a beautiful way to celebrate their relationship, but it has also led Wilson to be a bit outside of her usual routine. As you may recall, it was that routine that helped Wilson to lose weight to get to her goal of 165 lbs (or 75 kg) during the pandemic era when she had additional time to focus on herself and her goals. Now that she’s been traveling, she’s been open about putting a little weight on, and a few days ago Wilson opened up about trying not to be too hard on herself.

In fact, however, honesty has been a really important part of Wilson’s life since she started her “Year of Health” journey that led her to lose over 5 stone. That Pitch Perfect star – who has joked she is now going by Fit Amy in a nod to that franchise – opened up previously about how she lost the weight, noting that an increased focus on protein and also feeling confident that “nothing is forbidden” really helped her to attain her goals. Wilson has also said portion control has  been a helpful tool.

Whilst on vacation with her girlfriend Ramona Agruma,  the Pitch Perfect star got honest about the weight she's recently gained and how she’s working past the “guilt” she says it's easy to feel about her body. 

There’s nothing like celebrating your new relationship at an all-inclusive resort. However, there is one problem with long periods of travel, particularly when you seem to be country hopping as the actress has. Recently, Rebel Wilson shared on Instagram that she gained 3 kilos (equal to about six pounds) while on vacation but refused to let that "define" her on her journey.

This Aussie star has been in her “year of health” ever since a doctor straight up told her she would have a better chance of freezing her eggs and having them be of good quality if she was of a healthier weight. While comments like that are not something Rebel Wilson wanted to hear, it did give her a jumping-off point to focus on losing weight. It also didn’t help that the entertainment industry was basically paying Wilson to stay bigger as a lot of her roles were written for overweight women.

So How Did Rebel Wilson Get Started On Her Weight Loss Journey?

After the Golden Raspberry-winning movie Cats came out in 2019, the How to Be Single star revealed she lost eight pounds in four days shooting her dance number for that movie. After that, she felt inspired to get to about 165 pounds by the end of the year. By understanding that her weight gain was a result of emotional eating and her love of desserts, she knew these sweets would have to be eliminated from her diet. 

Then the comedic actress was a proud woman who mastered the art of losing over 70 pounds in 2020! Wilson said the secret to her maintenance was to keep her body moving by walking to her favorite tunes. I wonder if Britney Spears was on her playlist? Would prove how she was able to master that dance scene in her Senior Year movie on point. 

While weight loss presents its own challenges, maintaining your goal weight is easier said than done. The biggest challenge for Rebel Wilson was keeping up with her new lifestyle and working on her emotional eating. While she may be hitting snags here and there, her self-proclaimed nickname “Fit Amy” still fits her well as she’s aware of what she needs to do to look the way she has always wanted to, and I can't wait to see where that takes her career next.

Following the exciting announcement, a journalist from an Australian newspaper revealed the publication had learned of the relationship and gave her a two-day heads up before plans to out her. The performer apparently decided to reveal the information herself rather than let the newspaper have control over the story. 

Getting past that controversy though, it looks like Rebel Wilson is having a blast in Italy and is really enjoying her newfound love by kicking off summer with great memories. Wilson was nearly outed and went public instead, leading her Pitch Perfect co-star Skylar Astin to send well wishes and share his thoughts on the situation.

Rebel Wilson came out in a post on Instagram, officially declaring Ramona Agruma as her girlfriend. But as more information has come out since then, it was revealed that this only occurred because a news publication was going to run the story. This definitely adds emotional weight to the sweet post, with some people coming out in defense of Wilson. Skylar Astin was recently asked by People about his co-star’s coming out story, responding with:

Rebel Wilson’s fans and many others were thrilled to celebrate with the actress when she publicly came out on Instagram, confirming her relationship with designer Ramona Agruma. A cloud came over her announcement, however, when it was revealed that she’d been pressured to go public with her romance after an Australian newspaper threatened to out her. In response to intense backlash, the journalist Andrew Hornery has admitted he was wrong, while the Senior Year actress showed her appreciation for the support she’s received on social media.

Andrew Hornery of The Sydney Morning Herald released an Opinion piece explaining the events that preceded Rebel Wilson’s big announcement. He said the publication had reached out to the actress two days before they planned to publish a story about her relationship. Hornery said in the column, which has since been removed, that he thought it was a non-issue because “sexual orientation is no longer something to be hidden.” People were quick to defend the Pitch Perfect actress, arguing that such a personal decision should never have been taken out of her hands. Wilson showed her appreciation for the support on Twitter:

It’s disheartening to know that what should be a joyous moment for Rebel Wilson and Ramona Agruma has turned into a stressful situation. Not only did the Australian reporter downplay the significance of her being able to decide when and how to come out, he appeared to insult the actress for taking matters into her own hands, saying, “her choice to ignore our discreet, genuine and honest queries was, in our view, underwhelming.”

Now that the Opinion piece has since been taken down on The Sydney Morning Herald’s site, it's been replaced by a new column from Andrew Hornery — who identifies as gay. In it, he admits that he made mistakes and promises to learn from them:

He went on to detail the supposed contents of the email he sent the actress, which included that several sources had confirmed the relationship and that he had “enough detail to publish.” The reporter also included details of his deadline, saying he hoped to get a comment from the actress “on what I believe is a happy and unexpected news story for her, especially given the recent Pride celebrations.”

Andrew Hornery continued, saying it was not his intention to threaten Rebel Wilson and that it is not his publication’s business to “out” people, but he understands why it's being seen that way:

The Cats alum has not commented further on the situation with the Australian publication, but whether or not she finds any healing in the journalist’s latest comments, we hope she continues to move forward and find happiness in what is reportedly a “very serious” relationship. The newly announced couple have allegedly been an item since January, and the comedian shared that she feels she is in an equal partnership and healthy relationship this time around.

Over the weekend we learned that actress Rebel Wilson was in a brand new relationship with designer Ramona Agruma. On its own that’s a piece of information that might not be all that important to people that do not know Rebel Wilson personally or happen to be serious fans of Pitch Perfect. However, the news has become a big deal because an Australian newspaper has been accused of attempting to “out” Wilson, and now the paper is responding to those claims.

The details of Rebel Wilson’s new relationship came directly from Wilson on Instagram, but that initial post was apparently spurred by the fact that the Sydney Morning Herald had the information about the relationship and was planning to publish it. Now the paper’s editor, Beven Shields, has posted a response to the claims that the publication was planning to “out” Rebel Wilson. He claims that’s not the case, saying…

It may be true that the paper would have asked the same questions in the same way, regardless of the parties involved. But because of the particular circumstance, perhaps it’s the way this was presented to Rebel Wilson that it was taken very differently. In the end if caused Wilson to reveal the news herself when she might not have done so otherwise, and at the very least the paper did not take that possibility into account.

Much of the backlash against the paper came when it was reported that Rebel Wilson was given a deadline to respond before the story about her and Ramona Agruma would be published, The editor claims this was normal, and that the paper simply asked questions and then waited for a response. In addition, at that point no decision had been made regarding publication. The statement continues…

The initial column reporting on Rebel Wilson in the Herald has since been taken down and Andrew Hornery, the author of the column has published an apology, admitting he made a mistake, and promising to learn from that mistake. 

There’s certainly a bit of damage control going on here. There have been instances in the past where celebrities have essentially been forced to reveal things about their own personal lives prior to the media doing it, in an attempt to better control the story. It does appear that happened here, but in this case the Australian paper at least claims this was not intentional. 

The explanation may be enough for some, likely not for others. Fans are clearly supporting Rebel Wilson, and are seemingly happy that she is happy.

And later that same day, the actress reportedly decided to go public on Instagram. In the opinion piece, Hornery called the move from Wilson a “big mistake” and claimed threatening to out her was a non-issue because “sexual orientation is no longer something to be hidden.”

In the reporter's piece with his outlet, he also claimed that when the actress (now in her 40s) was previously in a relationship with businessman Jacob Busch, she “happily fed such prurient interest” by entertaining press about the pairing. Following the Herald’s publishing of the column, backlash has surfaced across the web, with people rushing to the side of Wilson for apparently being pressured to discuss a private matter publicly. In one Twitter opinion: 

BBC reporter Megha Mohan also criticized the newspaper and the journalist for “complaining” that she chose to announce her relationship with Ramona Agruma herself. In her words: 

On the heels of the relationship announcement, it's been reported that Rebel Wilson is reportedly “very serious” with Ramona Agruma, per People. The pair have allegedly been an item since January and are “super happy together.” She was apparently set up with the designer through a friend, and the two apparently spoke on the phone “for weeks” before actually meeting, something the star found to be “very romantic”. 

The Australian performer has also shared that she feels she is in an equal partnership and healthy relationship now. This is purportedly different from what she experienced in the past, when she was “putting up” with things she “shouldn't have.” The Pitch Perfect alum still showed love for her exes, saying “they’re great,” but, with her new partner, it seems there’s a balance to the partnership that is really clicking for her. 

Rebel Wilson recently starred in her first movie in three years, Senior Year, which is available to stream with a Netflix subscription The comedy is about a high school cheerleader who goes into a 20-year coma and decides to finish her schooling at 37. The flick been trending at the Netflix top 10 for nearly a month with its last day on the list early this week and has a massive cast that includes Mary Holland, Sam Richardson and Justin Hartley. Wilson has a lot to be grateful for at the moment and, as she moves away from this attempted outing incident, let's hope that things are smooth sailing for her and her girlfriend moving forward.

Rebel Wilson’s upcoming Netflix movie Senior Year will be audiences’ first chance to see the actress on screen since a busy 2019. While she hasn’t had any projects for us to enjoy in the past few years, she’s kept plenty busy. The actress formerly known as “Fat Amy” from the Pitch Perfect movies underwent a “Year of Health,” losing over 70 pounds and inspiring a new nickname. She recently got to show off the results of all her hard work at the premiere of her new movie.

Rebel Wilson's weight loss journey wasn’t easy, and it actually started with pushback from her team, who she said didn’t understand why she’d want to change her body when she was having so much success as a “funny fat girl.” The actress didn’t seem to be too concerned that her success was suffering when she walked the red carpet in a stunning green sequined dress that showed off her trim figure at the premiere of Senior Year. 

The off-the-shoulder Jason Wu gown was the same shade of green as the cheerleading uniform worn by her character in the Netflix movie. In Senior Year, Rebel Wilson plays Stephanie Conway, a cheer captain leading the “perfect” popular life in 2002, before she suffers an accident during a cheerleading routine that puts her into a coma for 20 years. When she awakes in 2022, she’s determined to finish her high school career, despite being 37 years old. 

Fans first got to see the actress’ new look in the trailer for Senior Year, which should reassure viewers that Rebel Wilson is still bringing the hilarity we fell in love with in Bridesmaids and Pitch Perfect. She has always seemed to be breezy and confident, but knowing how happy she is about her improved health — and reading her motivational posts about how worth it the “Year of Health” was for her — we are really loving that bright smile she showed on the red carpet.

Along with Rebel Wilson, Senior Year boasts a bunch of well-known faces, including This Is Us star Justin Hartley, The Afterparty stars Sam Richardson and Zoë Chao, Alicia Silverstone, and Chris Parnell, along with many others.

Since initially reaching her goal weight of 165 pounds in 2020, the actress shared her (surprisingly simple) secret to maintaining her new lifestyle. She said while people tend to think you have to work your body really hard to stay healthy, unless you’re "training to be the next Thor or something,” it’s really just about keeping your body moving and blood pumping. Rebel Wilson’s secret is putting on a podcast or some music and just walking. She says you can do it anywhere in the world, and it’s become her favorite form of exercise. So simple and inspiring!

There are a ton of great teen movies on Netflix, and that collection just got a little bit longer with the release of the new original comedy, Senior Year. The movie, which stars Rebel Wilson as a high-school cheer captain who wakes up from a 20-year coma thinking she’s still living in 2002, recently dropped on the popular streaming service, and there’s a good chance you’re wondering where you’ve seen some of those familiar faces before.

Well, no need to grab your old yearbook in an attempt to jog your memory as we have put together a rundown of the Senior Year cast, including all of their major movie and TV roles, that hopefully helps you remember where you’ve seen them before. There’s not much time, so let’s jump straight into the action and take a look at the cast from what could be one of the funniest 2022 movie releases yet.

Rebel Wilson (Stephanie Conway) 

Let's get this party started off with the main attraction, Rebel Wilson, who plays the 37-year-old version of Stephanie Conway, as the Britney Spears-obsessed woman wakes up from her 20-year coma and finishes her high school experience in Senior Year.

Unless you’ve been living under a rock the past decade or so, you’ll instantly recognize Wilson from her star-making performances in the Pitch Perfect franchise. But Wilson’s portrayal of Patricia “Fat Amy” Hobart in the successful musical comedy series isn’t all she’s done over the years, as the hilarious comedian has popped up in everything from Bridesmaids to Pain & Gain, and Jojo Rabbit to Cats, and so much more.

Angourie Rice (Young Stephanie Conway) 

Portraying the younger and on top of her game, 2002 version of Stephanie Conway in Senior Year is Angourie Rice, who fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe will instantly recognize from her work on the Tom Holland Spider-Man movies.

But, when she’s not playing Betty Brant, who was last seen working as an intern for J. Jonah Jameson’s The Daily Bugle website, Rice gives commanding performances on shows like Mare of Easttown and Black Mirror, as well as in movies like The Nice Guys, The Beguiled, and These Final Hours, to name only a few of her contributions over the years.

Justin Hartley (Blaine)

Appearing in the Senior Year cast as Blaine, Stephanie’s former high school boyfriend from way back when, is Justin Hartley, who fans of a certain NBC mega-hit series will instantly recognize.

Going back to 2016, Hartley has portrayed Kevin Pearson on This Is Us, racking up a pair of Screen Actors Guild Awards alongside his incredible costars in the process. Before Hartley became known for his role on one of the most popular shows in recent memory, however, he made a name for himself as Oliver Queen, a.k.a. Green Arrow, on Smallville. He has also spent time on soap operas like Passions and The Young and the Restless throughout his career.

Zoë Chao (Tiffany)

Next up is Zoë Chao who appears in the Senior Year cast as Tiffany, Stephanie’s bitter high school rival who went on to become prom queen and marry her high school boyfriend while Stephanie was in a coma following the traumatic accident two decades earlier.

Over the years, Chao has popped up in movies like Where’d You Go, Bernadette, The High Note, and Downhill. But before she found success on the big screen, Chao made a name for herself on shows like The Comeback, Strangers, and The OA. Recently, she has landed roles on Love Life, Modern Love, and the Apple TV+ murder mystery series, The Afterparty.

Mary Holland (Martha)

Mary Holland shows up in Senior Year as Martha, Stephanie’s longtime friend who has worked her way to becoming the principal of their alma mater while the former cheer captain spent the previous 20 years in a coma.

Holland, who wrote and starred in Happiest Season, a.k.a. one of the best romantic comedies of 2020, has spent the past decade of her career appearing on shows like Comedy Bang! Bang!, Silicon Valley, Veep, and The Woman in the House Across the Street from the Girl in the Window, and multiple other series that have seen her pop in for one-off roles. Her film credits include Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates, Golden Arm, and Between Two Ferns: The Movie.

Sam Richardson (Seth)

Sam Richardson appears in the Senior Year cast as Seth, Stephanie’s nerdy high school friend who has since become the school's librarian.

Over the years, Richardson has given memorable performances on shows like Veep, Detroiters, Champaign ILL, I Think You Should Leave with Tim Robinson, Ted Lasso, and most recently The Afterparty, to just name a few of his many small-screen roles. During that same stretch of time, Richardson has popped up in movies like Spy, Good Boys, Promising Young Woman, Werewolves Within, and the Chris Pratt-led Amazon original sci-fi action movie, The Tomorrow War. 

Chris Parnell (Jim Conway)

Taking on the role of Stephanie’s dad, Jim Conway, in Senior Year, is former Saturday Night Live mainstay, and one of the busiest names in show business, Chris Parnell.

In addition to his work on SNL (which included the incredible “Lazy Sunday” rap), Parnell has spent his career appearing on a seemingly endless series of TV shows, including 30 Rock, Archer, Comedy Bang! Bang!, Drunk History, Rick and Morty, and many, many more. His film work includes Hot Rod, Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story, 21 Jump Street, Sisters, and several dozen others.

Avantika (Janet)

Avantika is one of the younger members of the Senior Year cast, where she portrays Janet, one of students Stephanie befriends and starts a new cheerleading group with upon returning to high school.

Although she has only been acting for a little more than a half-decade, Avantika has been quite busy during that stretch of time, appearing in numerous Telugu-speaking Indian films like Oxygen, Premam, and nearly a half-dozen others. In the past couple of years, Avantika has landed roles on shows like Mira, Royal Detective and Diary of a Future President, as well as the Disney Channel original movie Spin.

Joshua Colley (Yaz)

Another younger actor appearing in Senior Year is Joshua Colley, who makes an appearance as Yaz, one of Stephanie’s new friends who joins her new and improved cheerleading squad.

Throughout his young career, which goes back to a role in the 2013 run of Newsies on Broadway, Colley has showed up in a number of stage productions like Les Misérables, A Bronx Tale, and You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown. Since then he has also provided the voice of Pig Robinson on the Peter Rabbit animated series as well as appearances on Madam Secretary and Keepin’ It Weird with Chuck Dart. He most recently appeared in the Hulu original movie, Sex Appeal.

Jade Bender (Brie Loves)

Jade Bender shows up on the Senior Year cast as Brie Loves, Tiffany and Blaine’s influencer daughter who inadvertently helps Stephanie Conway figure out what it takes to be popular with a generation of students whose lives revolve around their social media presence.

Over the years, Bender has appeared in one-off roles on a number TV shows including Warren the Ape and The Player, as well as a brief recurring spot on Major Crimes. During that same stretch of time, Bender has popped up in movies like Bad Night, A Cowgirl’s Story, and the made for TV movie, Night School.

Michael Cimino (Lance)

Next up is Michael Cimino, who portrays Lance, Bri’s influencer and gender-bending boyfriend in the Senior Year cast.

Fans of the Hulu drama series Love, Victor will instantly recognize Cimino from his portrayal of the series’ central character, Victor Salazar, if not for some of his previous work throughout his career. This includes shows like Walk the Prank, Dog Days, and the Training Day film-to-TV adaptation that featured the late Bill Paxton. Over the years, Cimino has also worked on film projects like Shangri-La Suite, Annabelle Comes Home, and Centurion XII.

Brandon Scott Jones (Mr. T)

And then there is Brandon Scott Jones, who portrays the high school teacher named Mr. T who helps welcome Stephanie Conway back to her old stomping grounds in Senior Year, a movie he helped co-write alongside Alex Knauer and Arthur Pielli.

Throughout his career, Jones has appeared in movies like Other People, Don’t Think Twice, Could You Ever Forgive Me?, and Isn’t It Romantic (which also featured Rebel Wilson in a starring role). Jones has also spent a considerable amount of time on the small screen as well, with some of his TV credits including Broad City, Schooled, The Good Place, The Other Two, and the CBS comedy series, Ghosts. And, according to Variety, we’ll be seeing more of Jones in the upcoming Nicolas Cage-led Dracula movie, Renfield.

This isn’t all of the familiar (and not-so-familiar) faces who appear in the Senior Year cast, though, as special guest stars like Clueless actress Alicia Silverstone pop up over the course of the movie. But, since there’s a chance we could ruin some of those surprises for anyone who has yet to watch the new film as part of the 2022 Netflix movie schedule, we’ll play it safe for now.

Actress Rebel Wilson has never been one to shy away from showing off her dance moves. From revealing her killer choreography as Fat Amy in Pitch Perfect to her purr-fectly spirited movements in Cats, we’ll next see this Aussie performer continue to move in Netflix's Senior Year. However, there was one particular dance sequence scene that Rebel Wilson needed permission to do, and it came from the one and only Britney Spears. 

Senior Year sees Rebel Wilson playing a woman going back to finish her senior year in high school after being in a 20-year coma, so be prepared to see plenty of late ‘90s and early 2000s nostalgia. You can’t get more nostalgic than this lucky comedic actress having the chance to recreate Britney Spears’ (You Drive Me) Crazy music video for a particular scene in the film. Rebel Wilson spoke to Entertainment Tonight about showing respect to the former teeny bopper by asking for Britney Spears’ permission before recreating her video. She explained:

Whether women of the '90s want to admit it or not, there was at least one time when we would try (very badly) to imitate Britney Spears’ music videos in the privacy of our bedrooms, whether it was just taking a hairbrush and pretending to sing just like her or going so far as to re-enact her full-body pop star moves. Even the cast of Glee took plenty of opportunities to channel their inner Britney when they recreated Britney Spears’ music videos like Hit Me Baby (One More Time), I’m a Slave 4 U and Me Against the Music. When a music video is that iconic, you cannot help but want to channel your inner pop star once in a while and embody yourself in that music video.

Considering Rebel Wilson came from a background of singing pop songs in the Pitch Perfect movies, recreating a Britney Spears music video is not left field for her. This time when we see the Cats actress perform as Britney, she’ll be able to show off her trim figure while doing so as she maintains her 70-pound weight loss. Wilson continued to speak about what it was like to channel Britney Spears in the final scene she shot for Senior Year:

Well now we know that if you want to fight off the scorching heat, play a Britney song. Rebel Wilson continued to express how much fun she had performing (You Drive Me) Crazy and what made this time performing different for her, saying:

What Rebel Wilson was referring to about her past fashion sense was her high school uniform days. She went to the Tara Anglican School for Girls, which was an all-girls school in Australia where appearances were not the priority, as everyone was told to dress the same. She explained how she fashioned a short fringe and felt she had no fashion sense such as knowing how to do her makeup. So instead of focusing on her fashion, she used her brainpower towards other activities, like that time Wilson locked a teacher in a cupboard. It makes me wonder if Wilson will channel her past prankster self in her new Netflix flick.

Rebel Wilson continues to be an inspiration not just about how to improve your health, but on having the courage to stand out. After talking about how individuality was not something that was celebrated during her days in Australia, Wilson concluded her interview by talking about the courage to be unique. She already did that in Pitch Perfect playing Fat Amy, who always said what was on her mind and never held back belting out those notes. The same message will be spread in Senior Year about embracing what makes you unique.

You may think that the boarding school pranks you would see in teen shows like Zoey 101 or Looking For Alaska are a work of fiction. Rebel Wilson proves otherwise as she reminisces on her teen years. On Jimmy Kimmel Live, Rebel Wilson spoke of how she went to the Tara Anglican School for Girls and was a real “mastermind” pulling off a prank on a teacher she didn’t like.

Talk about a serious prank. But how exactly did a young Rebel Wilson manage to outwit her teacher at Boarding School? She went on to explain how the teenage coup happened, saying:

Well, looks like that teacher might have an idea now of who made her cry. Or would curiosity get the better of her to watch her former student looking fit and fab in her latest film Senior Year? This upcoming movie is about a high school cheerleader who had it all only for a cheerleading stunt to land her in a coma for twenty years. After waking up, she decides to finish off her senior year despite being in her late 30s. This means her character will struggle to understand how social media works and revisit her cheerleading days all over again. As far-fetched as this plot may be, we’re sure this will be about as entertaining as Rebel Wilson’s last flick when her character landed in a full rom-com in Isn’t It Romantic.

When the trailer came out for Senior Year, this was an opportunity for fans and her old schoolmates to see Rebel Wilson’s new trim appearance. During the pandemic, the Bridesmaids actress declared 2020 to be her “Year of Health." She started losing weight while working on Cats and, from there, the star really started to see some significant results. By November of that year, she lost 75 pounds. Looks like no one will be able to call her “Fat Amy” anymore, huh?
