One of the most exciting projects to come out in the TV sphere over the last several years has been the limited series Daisy Jones & The Six. The project is based on a wonderful book by Taylor Jenkins Reid, which is in itself loosely inspired by the lives and careers of the band members of Fleetwood Mac. As such, singer Stevie Nicks was a little reticent to watch the series at first, but once she did, what sprung forth was an idea for a sequel. Needless to say, this is an intriguing prospect.

Why Stevie Nicks Was Reluctant To Watch Daisy Jones & The Six

It isn’t exactly unusual for a celebrity to have a negative reaction to a project detailing or supposedly based on their personal lives. Erik Menendez recently slammed Ryan Murphy’s take on the story of his parents’ murder at the hands of him and his brother. Elvis’ family was not happy about the recent Austin Butler biopic (intriguingly a family in which Daisy Jones lead Riley Keough is a part of), either. So this type of thing does crops up fairly frequently.

Nicks said she was determined to avoid watching the series with her Amazon Prime Video subscription, but then she got sucked in, telling Rolling Stone:

Eventually she came around to the idea and admitted publicly she threw Daisy Jones on. After watching, she noted there are certainly differences between herself and Daisy Jones, played by Keough, but ultimately, she still thinks there would be more material to mine in Season 2.

Stevie Nicks’ Idea For A Sequel Has To Do With A Lindsey Buckingham-Centric Storyline

Stevie Nicks and Lindsey Buckingham were known for their chemistry and friction in Fleetwood Mac, much in the same way Billy Dunne and Daisy Jones exist alongside one another but often very far apart. Nicks also told the outlet there was a time she wanted to get back into the studio and do another album with Buckingham. In real life, it never came to fruition, but given the way Daisy Jones & The Six ended, there’s absolutely no reason a Season 2 could not live out that fantasy.

Honestly, I could not agree with Stevie Nicks more. While Season 1 really does kind of have a perfect ending, if the show were to come back, this would be a good way to do it.

In real life, Nicks says she gave Lindsey Buckingham “about 300 million chances” and the last time she even spoke with him was at Christine McVie’s celebration of life in 2022. But in the fantasy world of Daisy Jones, there’s plenty of room for more band drama. Though, while she talked to producer Reese Witherspoon and Riley Keough about the idea, it’s hard telling if it will get off the ground.

I will just directly say: What petition do I need to write to get this idea moving forward? I know Sukie Waterhouse is busy with her music career (and new baby with Robert Pattinson) and Riley Keough has a bunch of new projects – including a Noah Bombach movie – on the way. But I would hope everyone loved this project enough to make the time for more, should an excellent script come along. And as a member of the audience myself, I definitely know there’s an appetite from the fans for new episodes, even if there's not a Taylor Jenkins Reid book to compare them to.

During her career, Lisa Marie Presley became a beloved musician, carving out a legacy separate from that of famous father Elvis. Lisa Marie sadly died at the age of 54 after going into cardiac arrest in early 2023. Now, over a year later, the public has the opportunity to learn more about the late singer’s life via her newly released memoir. Lisa Marie writes about more than a few personal aspects of her life in the posthumously released book, including the fact that she kept her late son’s body in a spare room after his death in 2020.

Benjamin Keough, who Lisa Marie Presley shared with ex-husband Danny Keough, died by suicide at the age of 27. In her newly published book, From Here to the Great Unknown, the late Presley chronicled the aftermath of Benjamin’s unfortunate passing. It was during that portion of the book that she revealed that she opted to keep her son’s body in her home. Presley revealed (via Us Weekly) the exact part of her home in which she kept the body and explained how she was able to organize such an arrangement:

According to police reports, Ben Keough died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. The “I Love You Because” singer’s exact reason for holding onto her son’s body is unclear. However, based on what she wrote in the book, she was well aware of the abnormality of the circumstances. The “You Ain't Seen Nothing Yet” added the following sentiments:

Via her book, Lisa Marie Presley also revealed that she had a tattoo artist come to her abode so that he could give her ink matching her son’s. Riley Keough – Presley and Danny’s daughter, who finished the new memoir – also commented on that. The Zola actress recalled the surreal nature of the situation and said that her mother felt as though Ben was speaking to her in a way. Riley continued to say that after the tattoo session, her mom “got the vibe” that Ben should be buried. He was indeed eventually laid to rest in Malibu.

Speculation regarding the life and death of Lisa Marie Presley has continued since her passing. Presley, who reportedly used opioids around the time of her death, was ultimately laid to rest in Graceland, with Riley Keough overseeing the arrangements and becoming the sole owner and trustee of the aforementioned mansion in Tennessee. Shortly after her mother’s death, Keough paid tribute and did so once more six months later. On that second occasion, she honored Benjamin as well.

It’s fair to say that we all find different ways to process our grief when it comes to mourning loved ones. Lily Gladstone took moviegoers by storm with her performance in Killers of the Flower Moon, becoming the first Indigenous American in Academy Awards history to be nominated for Best Actress. Everyone who’s excited to see what she does next is in luck, because her next project is already here. The first two episodes of Under the Bridge, a true crime drama, can be streamed now with a Hulu subscription, and critics who have screened the entire eight-episode series are here to weigh in with their thoughts on Gladstone’s performance.

Alongside Lily Gladstone — who plays officer Cam Bentland — Under the Bridge stars Riley Keough as Rebecca Godfrey (the author of the book the series is based on), as they investigate the 1997 murder of 14-year-old Reena Virk. Hoai-Tran Bui of Inverse says Gladstone is the strongest aspect of the series, proving that she is one of our greatest contemporary screen presences. The critic continues: 

Aramide Tinubu of Variety says Lily Gladstone and Riley Keough anchor the series that is ultimately about longing, otherness, race and the frailties of community. Tinubu continues: 

Ben Travers of IndieWire agrees that Lily Gladstone carries the show, as she embodies the exhaustion that Cam feels in her hometown and with the case. It’s too bad she’s not at the center of the story, the critic says. He grades the miniseries a B-, writing: 

Judy Berman of Time magazine also praises Lily Gladstone’s performance as Cam, a character concealing a lifetime’s worth of anger. Under the Bridge is more than just another dead-girl show, the critic says, despite a few cringe-worthy moments in the script. Berman writes: 

Laura Miller of Slate even says the series is the rare adaptation that is richer than its source material, writing: 

It sounds like those looking forward to seeing Lily Gladstone in a new role won’t be disappointed, as many critics are calling her portrayal of the Canadian police officer one of the highlights of the dramatized true crime story. Under the Bridge holds a Rotten Tomatoes score of 83%, with a 75% audience score after two episodes.

Jordana Brewster has built her own name and reputation in Hollywood, mostly through her work in the Fast franchise, but she also comes from a very accomplished family. Her mother, Maria João, is a Brazillian legend, as she was the first Brazillian model to appear on the cover of the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue, in 1978. Brewster's grandfather, Kingman Brewster, was a giant in academia, serving as the president of Yale University from 1964 until 1977.

Zooey Deschanel

Of course, Zooey Deschanel has a famous sister, Emily, and together they have a couple of pretty famous parents. Zooey's father, Caleb Deschanel is a cinematographer who has been nominated six times for an Oscar, for his work on films like The Right Stuff and The Passion Of The Christ. Zooey and Emily's mother, Mary Jo, is also an actor, known best for playing Eileen Hayward in the Twin Peaks franchise. 

Vanessa Kirby

From starring as Princess Margaret in The Crown to playing a baddie in Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning, Vanessa Kirby has shown she can do just about anything on screen. Her father, Dr. Roger Kirby is a renowned doctor in the U.K., so while it might not be a Hollywood connection, Vanessa does come from a very prominent family. 

Alfie Allen

Game of Thrones star Alfie Allen has a pretty famous sister, singer Lily Allen, and a pretty famous father, Keith Allen. Keith is very well known in his native England, but American audiences will recognize him from his roles in Trainspotting, and Kingsman: The Golden Circle, among others. Alfie and Lily's mother, Alison Owen, is a movie producer as well, including the 2024 Amy Winehouse biopic, Back to Black.

Josh Brolin

Josh Brolin made his film debut in The Goonies when he was 18, in 1985. After a solid, but far from remarkable, run for the next 20 years, Brolin became a legit superstar in the 2010s, eclipsing the fame of his father, James Brolin, but probably not his stepmother, Barbara Streisand.

If you haven't watched The Gilded Age, you need to, and when you do, you'll likely love the performance from Louisa Jacobson. Of course, you wouldn't expect less from the daughter of one of the greatest actors of all time, Meryl Streep. 

Zoey Deutch

Zoey Deutch is known for movies like Everybody Wants Some!! and Something from Tiffany's, as well as TV shows like The Politician and Ringer. Her mother, Lea Thompson is known for classics like Back To The Future, and Some Kind of Wonderful, where Thompson met Zoey's father, Howard Deutch, who directed the film. 

Lewis Pullman

Lewis Pullman has received widespread acclaim for his performance in Apple TV+'s Lessons in Chemistry. As you may have guessed by his last name, his father is none other than the great Bill Pullman, who, of course, made one of the most inspiring speeches in movie history in Independence Day. 

Jamie Lee Curtis

Jamie Lee Curtis is a true legend and she also has two legendary parents, father Tony Curtis and mother Janet Leigh. Jamie Lee is also married to a famous actor, This is Spinal Tap star Christopher Guest. One more fun fact? Jamie Lee carries an English nobility title. The Right Honourable the Lady Haden-Guest, because Christopher's full title is Christopher Haden-Guest, 5th Baron Haden-Guest.

Ben Platt

Marc Platt has been nominated for an Oscar three times as the producer of Best Picture nominees Bridge of Spies, La La Land, and The Trial of the Chicago 7. Surely, he's most proud of being a father to Pitch Perfect star Ben Platt. 

Laura Dern

Over five decades now, Laura Dern has crushed on the big and small screen. Her father, Bruce Dern, is in his incredible seventh decade of his career and her mother, Diane Ladd, has been a star for just as long. In fact, Ladd and Laura were both nominated for Oscars for their respective performances together in Rambling Rose, one of Laura Dern's best performances. 

George Clooney

It's to imagine there was ever a time when George Clooney wasn't the most famous person in the world, much less his own family, but that was the case once. George's father, Nick Clooney, was a long-time TV news anchor all over the country, including in LA. He was also a game show host in the mid-'70s. George is also nephew to the iconic Rosemary Clooney, which also made Betty Clooney an aunt to George as well. Rosemary's son, the late actor Miguel Ferrer, was also more famous than his cousin George in the '80s, after starring in Robocop and Star Trek III: The Search for Spock. 

Daniel Day-Lewis

Even the great Daniel Day-Lewis comes from a famous family. The legendary actor's father was Cecil Day-Lewis, who was the one-time poet laureate of the United Kingdom, and his mother, Jill Balcon, was a well-known stage actor in the UK. Daniel Day-Lewis' maternal grandfather, Michael Balcon, helped launch the British film industry in the 1930s and '40s, as well. Acting is in his blood, for sure. 

Rob Reiner

There's no bigger name in Hollywood than Rob Reiner. Whether as an actor, director, writer, or producer, Reiner has made his name across the board. Before all that, his father, Carl Reiner, made his name doing many of the same things. Rob's mother, Estelle Reiner, is also pretty famous, having delivered the line, "I'll have what she's having," in When Harry Met Sally. 

Zosia Mamet

From Girls to The Flight Attendant, Zosia Mamet has shown herself to be quite the ensemble player on screen. Her father, iconic playwright David Mamet, is really more famous for what he's written for the stage. David has found plenty of success writing for the screen as well, penning movies like Glengarry Glen Ross (based on his play of the same name), The Untouchables, and 2001's Hannibal.

Billie Lourd

Billie Lourd got her start working with her mother, Carrie Fisher, in the Star Wars sequels. As Fisher's daughter, she's a part of a family of Hollywood royalty, with Debbie Reynolds and Eddie Fisher as her grandparents. It's an impressive lineage! 

Bessie Carter

Bessie Carter's star turn as Prudence Featherington in Bridgerton is right on par with not one, but both of her famous parents. Bessie's father, Jim Carter, is most famous in the U.S. for playing the stern butler, Mr. Carson, on Downton Abbey. Her mother is none other than the great Imelda Staunton, who, among many other things, has starred as Dolores Umbridge in the Harry Potter series and Queen Elizabeth in the final two seasons of The Crown on Netflix. It's a lot to live up to for Bessie, but she's showing she's up to it. 

Timothée Chalamet

Dune star Timothée Chalamet's father may not be as famous as some of the parents on this list, but in some circles, he's very famous. Marc Chalamet is a French reporter who worked for Le Parisien as a correspondent and for the United Nations as an editor for UNICEF. His mother, Nicole, was also in show business for a time, as a dancer on Broadway. 

Phoebe Dynevor

Bridgerton is one of the most popular streaming shows ever and among the excellent cast is Phoebe Dynevor, who plays Daphne Basset. U.S. audiences may not be familiar with her mother, Sally Dynevor, but in the U.K., she's one of the most famous people on TV, having played the role of Sally on the long-running Coronation Street soap opera. Sally has played the role since 1986! Phoebe's grandmother, Shirley Dynevor, was also an actress in the United Kingdom. 

Melanie Griffith

When you talk about the legendary Hollywood families, you have to mention Melanie Griffith. She is mother to Dakota Johnson, of course, with her ex Don Johnson. Griffith is also the daughter of a famous actress, the great Tippi Hedren, star of The Birds, among many other films. 

Jennifer Aniston

Friends star Jennifer Aniston comes from famous stock. Her father, John Aniston, played the character Victor Kiriakis on Days of Our Lives for an amazing 37 years, right up until his death in 2022. The Morning Show star's mother, Nancy Dow, was also an actress, though she never quite had the career of Aniston, but then again, few do. 

Jessica Capshaw

For over 200 episodes, Jessica Capshaw played Arizona Robbins on Grey's Anatomy. Before that, she started out in Hollywood working with her stepfather, Steven Spielberg. Her mother, Kate Capshaw, is also an excellent actress, of course. Talent runs in the family, like all the others on this list. 

Margaret Qualley

You might think "Margaret Qualley" does not have a last name I recognize. That's fair; her father, Paul Qualley, was a model for a time, but it's her mother, Andie McDowell, that lands Margaret on this list. She and her sister, Rainey, weren't raised in Hollywood, but instead in Asheville, NC. She still found her way into show business after attending NYU and studying ballet in New York. 

John David Washington

Denzel Washington's son, John David Washington, wasn't going to follow in his famous father's footsteps, trying his hand at professional football in the St. Louis Rams organization. Luckily for film fans, his football career didn't take off, but his Hollywood career has. BlacKkKlansman and Tenet definitely got John David out from under his father's substantial shadow, and that is a really impressive thing to even attempt, much less succeed in doing. 

Riley Keough

Anyone who is the granddaughter of the King of Rock and Roll deserves to be on this list. That's right, Riley Keough is Elvis Presley's granddaughter, and daughter to Lisa Marie. After Lisa Marie died in 2023, Keough also became the sole owner of the legendary Graceland, Elvis' home, in Memphis. It's an impressive legacy to uphold, but Keough is clearly up for the challenge. 

Hannah Einbinder

Hannah Einbinder is one of the brightest up-and-coming comedic stars in Hollywood, starring in Hacks as well as her very funny stand-up act. The apple doesn't fall from the tree, as her mother is SNL legend Laraine Newman, who was part of the original cast from 1975-1980. 

Nico Parker

Nico Parker's star is just starting to rise, having received acclaim for playing Sarah in HBO's The Last of Us. Her mother is the iconic Thandiwe Newton, so again, the apple doesn't fall from the tree in this family. Her father, Ol Parker, wrote and directed Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again.

As this list shows, it's not really fair to use the term "nepo baby" all the time, as all of these stars have forged their own path and careers. Sure, it helps to have the connections, and the DNA, of some talented parents, but that's far from all it takes, as these stars have shown.

In Hollywood, there are plenty of celebrities we all know and love, but sometimes, we might not realize that there are other actors they are related to, such as famous parents who have been around for decades. From new up-and-coming stars to people who have been in the business for some time, here are some celebrities with famous parents that you should know about. 

Gwyneth Paltrow

First up on this list has to be Gwyneth Paltrow. While the actress has built a career for herself over the last few decades with roles in movies like Shakespeare in Love, Seven, and of course, her role as Pepper Potts in the Iron Man movies, Paltrow comes from fame and is the daughter of Bruce Paltrow and Blythe Danner, both of which worked in the industry. 

Maya Hawke

Maya Hawke may be an up-and-coming star, with her breakout role as part of the Stranger Things cast and only continuing to grow as an actor as time passes, but her parents have been around for some time. Hawke is the daughter of the actor Ethan Hawke and the actress Uma Thurman, who were married for a time back in the early 2000s. 

Anderson Cooper

While we all know Anderson Cooper now for his presence on the cable news network CNN, Cooper came from a large family that we all know well. His mother was Gloria Vanderbilt, who was a part of the famous Vanderbilt family. 

Jennifer Aniston

Jennifer Aniston has become a significant actress in the last couple of decades, specifically for her time as Rachel Greene in the Friends cast and many other great movie and TV roles. But Aniston also comes from Hollywood royalty, as her father was John Aniston, who was on the classic soap opera Days Of Our Lives for 37 years. 

Angelina Jolie

Angelina Jolie's best movies have only evolved over the years, from her time as the classic Disney villain, Maleficent, to her critically acclaimed roles. Jolie's father is Jon Voight, an Academy Award-winning actor; and her mother is Marcheline Bertrand, a Hollywood actress.

Chris Pine

Chris Pine is another example of someone you would never expect is the child of another celebrity, but his father was Robert Pine, and his mother was Gwynne Gilford. Robert Pine is best known for starring in the TV series CHiPS, while his mother appeared in many TV shows during the '70s and '80s. 

Colin Hanks

Colin Hanks has appeared in various films and TV shows over the last few years, including Fargo, Band of Brothers, Dexter, and more, and he hails from famous actor Tom Hanks. In 2022, Colin Hanks was a part of The Offer cast on Paramount Plus.

Margaret Qualley is another actress who has been up and coming for some time now, appearing in films like Death Note, Once Upon a Time In Hollywood, and more, as well as in TV shows like The Leftovers and Maid on Netflix. With a mother like Meryl Streep, it's no surprise that Mamie Gummer went into acting. Streep, known for many famous roles, was married to Don Gummer for several decades and had a few children with him, including Mamie Gummer. The actress has starred in the CW series Emily Owens, M.D., and appeared in films like Side Effects, Cake, and more. 

Rashida Jones

Rashida Jones is the daughter of the famous musician Quincy Jones. Considered a legend in the music industry, Jones was a significant influence and worked with several prominent musicians, such as Frank Sinatra and Count Basie. Rashida Jones  is known for numerous acting roles, including her part in the Parks and Recreation cast as Ann Perkins. 

Riley Keough

Riley Keough is an actress who has appeared in movies like The Runaways, Magic Mike, Mad Max: Fury Road, and more. She is the daughter of Lisa Marie Presley, who was the daughter of Elvis Presley.

Liv Tyler is a well-known actress for her roles in movies like Heavy, Armageddon, Ad Astra, Wilding, and more, as well as the Lord of the Rings movies. But you might not know that Tyler is the biological daughter of Steven Tyler, the frontman of the famous band Aerosmith.

However, her father, Ron Howard, began in Hollywood first and is a renowned director. Some of his biggest movies that he's directed include Willow, Apollo 13, A Beautiful Mind, and Frost/Nixon.

Jessica Capshaw

Jessica Capshaw is primarily known for her role in the TV shows The Practice and Grey's Anatomy, which has gone on for many years. However, Capshaw is also the daughter of actress Kate Capshaw, whom you might know from Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom, among other films. Jessica Capshaw is also the step-daughter of a famous Hollywood director you may have heard of – Steven Spielberg.

Jasmine Cephas Jones

Jasmine Cephas Jones earned much acclaim for her roles in the Hamilton cast and went on to star in the Starz series Blindspotting, but her father, Ron Cephas Jones, had been in Hollywood for far longer. While he has numerous movie and TV credits to his name, you may known him in recent years from his part among the This Is Us cast before he sadly passed away in August 2023. 

Lily Collins

Lily Collins is known for her starring role in the Emily in Paris cast and several other movies like The Blind Side and Mirror Mirror. Her father, Phil Collins, is a well-known musician and was the lead singer and drummer of the band Genesis.

I knew who Jack Quad was before I knew who Dennis Quaid was, thanks to the young actor being in The Hunger Games franchise and then in one of the best Amazon TV shows, The Boys. I’d guess that having the stamp of approval from the Fleetwood Mac member is a compliment that lives on the level of getting nominated for an Emmy and being dubbed as one of the best shows on Amazon Prime.

You can feel the Fleetwood Mac influence in Daisy Jones and The Six, it’s palpable. From the best original songs in the Prime series sounding like songs they could have been on Rumours, to the turbulent yet magnetic relationship between Billy and Daisy, to Daisy’s sense of fashion, it’s like the band’s story and vibe is oozing from the show. Nicks’ comments confirm this theory too, as she wrote that she “felt like a ghost watching [her] own story.”

Riley Keough and Andrew Garfield once starred in the A24 movie Under the Silver Lake. This under-the-radar summer flick is about how the disappearance of a young man’s neighbor causes him to get wrapped up in a dangerous conspiracy. If you thought the movie itself was very chilling, the 34-year-old actress revealed how she almost got Garfield sick on-set due to a peanuts-related incident.

Peanut allergies are very common with some cases being fatal if left untreated. Andrew Garfield is one of those people who can’t ingest peanuts, unbeknownst to his Under the Silver Lake co-star at the time. While Riley Keough spoke to Vanity Fair, she recalled the time she almost got Garfield sick on-set after she ate a peanuts-related snack.

It’s nuts (pardon the pun) how a little peanut snack could shut down an entire production. I do agree with Keough there that snacks with peanuts shouldn’t have been offered on set if The Social Network actor had such a severe allergy. So really, the blame shouldn’t be put on her. This wouldn’t be the first time that Andrew Garfield has had to deal with his peanut allergy with co-stars before. According to Unilad, he did an interview with Marie Claire magazine back in 2011 about how he had dinner with his co-stars from his TIFF film Never Let Me Go and suffered an allergic reaction from what he was eating. Garfield recalled how petrified Carey Mulligan and Keira Knightley were for him and how embarrassed he was going into anaphylactic shock at dinner with him.

Thankfully, there were no allergic reactions to be had after the A24 flick’s makeup lady averted what could have been a disaster. Riley Keough continued to talk about how relieved she felt that no tragedies took place after eating her peanut-flavored granola.

It's been a week for Riley Keough. This week, the actress nominated for her work in Daisy Jones and The Six. The show itself earned a whopping nine Emmy nominations, including one for the actress herself in the Lead Role in the Limited Series capacity.

However, news also broke about her mother's cause of death as the anniversary of her passing occurred. Amidst all of this going on in her personal and professional life, the actress made a tribute to her late mother, Lisa Marie Presley, and her brother Benjamin, posting a throwback image on her Instagram story. Lisa Marie Presley’s last public appearance was at the 80th Golden Globe Awards to honor the biopic Elvis that she felt celebrated her father well. Sadly, she suffered a cardiac episode and was transported to the hospital two days later and passed away that day. 

TMZ also reported yesterday that Presley's autopsy results found her cause of death to be from a small bowel obstruction due to complications from bariatric surgery she did years ago. She was laid to rest near her “King of Rock ‘n’ Roll” father at Graceland and her son, Benjamin. Tributes also poured in from celebrities like Leah Remini, Nic Cage, and Rita Wilson who sent out their sweet words to the late singer/songwriter. 

Previously, tragedy struck both Lisa Marie Presley and Riley Keough when Benjamin Keough died from a self-inflicted gunshot on July 12, 2020, at the age of 27. According to People, his friends said he battled with depression after feeling pressure from society to succeed in the entertainment industry with such a famous name. Presley herself had shared an essay about the grief she'd felt for several years before her own untimely passing. 

It's seemingly been a week of remembrance for Riley Keough, but it's nice to have old family photos to look back on. Our thoughts go out to her this week.

Most interestingly, newly surfaced legal documents indicate the matriarch of the family was asked to drop her petition for what’s been referred to as an undisclosed sum. 

This entire legal debacle was initiated by a signed document filed in 2016, which stipulated that Priscilla Presley would be removed as one of the co-trustees of her daughter’s will. She reportedly had an issue with this and as a result, chose to contest the decision with a petition worth $35 million. When it comes to her reasoning for taking that course of action, Presley said that she was looking to “protect” Riley Keough and her other two grandchildren and ultimately “keep our family together.” 

The settlement news was reported weeks ago, but the deal was officially approved by the Daisy Jones & The Six star on Monday, according to THR. Under this new agreement, the actress will serve as the sole trustee of Lisa Marie Presley’s estate. As for Priscilla, the trade didn’t specify her compensation for no longer contesting the “authenticity and validity” of the aforementioned amendment. This could be an indication, however, that she’s receiving a considerable amount of cash. Such a notion lines up with previous reports that indicated that she’d be walking away with a lot of money following the settlement. Not only that, but she’s also now permitted to be buried alongside her husband in Graceland. That's rather significant since that request was previously denied by her granddaughter.

Based on the information presented, it would seem the dissolution of this estate battle could end up being beneficial for both parties. The filing even mentions that the two sides are set to save a significant amount of money in legal fees:

But if anything, this resolution will now seemingly allow the famous brood to move on with their lives.

Though as for whether she and Priscilla will maintain a firm personal relationship following all of the drama, that remains to be seen.

So, if Priscilla wants a gravesite next to her ex-husband, logistically, that’d be a major challenge. She told the publication:

While Priscilla was denied this request, sources close to the situation also said since it was a non-starter, she backed off without much pushback. 

Overall, Priscilla Presley is getting an impressive settlement for dropping her claim regarding the control of her daughter’s trust. The trust includes Graceland and a stake in Elvis Presley Enterprises, and she had been battling with Lisa Marie’s daughter Riley Keough over it for months.

The Presley family faced a great loss in January when Elvis and Priscilla Presley’s only child together, Lisa Marie Presley, died at the age of 54 after suffering a cardiac arrest. Shortly after Lisa Marie’s death, it was reported that her mother filed to contest her daughter’s will in a $35 million petition after it apparently named Lisa Marie Presley’s oldest daughter Riley Keough as the sole beneficiary of her estate. The dispute has now been settled. 

Back in February, reports claimed that Priscilla Presley and Riley Keough were “not talking” amidst the legal action, and the daughter of Lisa Marie Presley has apparently felt “disappointed” in her grandmother for challenging her mother’s will and wishes amidst the tragedy. As a court hearing in Los Angeles on Tuesday settled an agreement regarding Priscilla’s petition, her attorney shared “everyone is happy, unified, together and excited for the future.” And per TMZ, Priscilla could be walking away with millions thanks to the settlement. 

We don’t know the exact amount Priscilla Presley negotiated as not openly discussed in court, but Riley Keough’s attorney, Justin Gold, told CNN the actress is “very content” with how the settlement shook out. Gold also said that Keough “would not have agreed to the settlement if she was not happy with it.” The estate reportedly includes the Graceland mansion and a 15% stake in Elvis Presley Enterprises, which reportedly was worth $110 million in 2022, per People. 

The next hearing regarding the Presley estate has been set for August 4, where the motion of approval will take place. Priscilla’s argument regarding the will had to do with a 2016 amendment to the will that left her and Lisa Marie’s former business manager out of her estate. She questioned many specifics of the document and found her daughter’s signature to be “inconsistent” with her “usual and customary signature” on the amendment. 

Lisa Marie Presley died just a couple days after she and Priscilla Presley appeared at the Golden Globes, where Austin Butler won for his portrayal of Elvis Presley in Elvis. Both of them were supportive of Butler’s performance. During the lawsuit, Riley Keough found herself playing a musical at the center of the Daisy Jones & The Six series, which those with an Amazon Prime subscription can watch. Apparently amidst the press for the series, the lawsuit was taking a toll on Keough, who was reportedly “heartbroken” and “very stressed” about the whole situation.  

It couldn’t have been easy for the Presley family to deal with issues with Lisa Marie Presley’s will while also grieving the loss of her. Following a settlement being reached, it sounds like the family has mended their grievances, and perhaps can continue to move forward together. 

Readers of Taylor Jenkins Reid’s bestselling novel Daisy Jones & The Six were excited to watch the fictional ‘70s rock band come to life on the Amazon Prime Video series, and Riley Keough and Sam Claflin helped to usher in even more fans, thanks to their chemistry on the small screen. The series differed from the book in a few ways, but basically remained loyal to the source material, providing viewers with a satisfying ending. So with the show wrapped up with a little nice bow and the source material exhausted, we probably shouldn’t expect a Season 2, right? Not so fast, according to the showrunner.

Daisy Jones & The Six showrunner Scott Neustadter spoke at Deadline’s Contenders Television panel, where he said the series (available with an Amazon Prime Video subscription) delivered the perfect ending by tying up all of the storylines while still inspiring new questions. In fact, Neustadter said he’s made a whole pitch of ideas for a second season. He said: 

The showrunner apparently hasn’t run out of ideas when it comes to Riley Keough’s character and the five members of The Six, but Scott Neustadter conceded that Taylor Jenkins Reid would still have a say in the matter, if they were going to flesh out the band’s story even more.

The series’ story spans decades, with the band members doing present-day interviews about the rise and fall of their band in the 1970s. Much of the story revolves around Daisy Jones and Billy Dunne, who seem to be two halves of the same person, and their music is full of angst between the musicians, who are in love but can’t be together because Billy is committed to his wife Camila. In the finale we learn that Camila has since died, and in her daughter Julia’s interviews prior to her passing, she gave Billy and Daisy her blessing, telling them they owe her a song. 

This is the perfect ending that the showrunner was talking about, with viewers getting to see that the timing might finally be right for the singers to be together — or at least create more music — but what happened next?? In addition to everything post-Julia’s documentary, we only know broad strokes about what happened to the band members in the time between Daisy Jones & The Six’s last concert in Chicago and their current-day conversations with Billy and Camila’s daughter. Perhaps a Daisy Jones & The Six Season 2 would dive deeper into the decades in between? 

Another aspect to consider about continuing the story of The Six would be the music. Over two dozen original songs were created for Daisy Jones & The Six, with Riley Keough and the rest of the Daisy Jones & The Six cast actually performing the band’s songs. Since we know the band broke up after releasing Aurora, we’ve theoretically heard all of their music. Would Season 2 do away with that aspect of it? Would we hear the music that the band members created with other groups after their split? 

Fans likely weren’t expecting a second season of the book-to-screen adaptation, but that doesn’t mean we’re not hopeful. For now you can relive Daisy Jones & The Six’s rise and fall on Amazon’s Prime Video, and be sure to see what other premieres are coming soon with our 2023 TV schedule. 

Taylor Jenkins Reid’s 2019 novel, Daisy Jones & The Six, became a hit with readers, in part because it’s everything you’d want in a behind-the-scenes look at the rise and fall of an iconic rock band — even a fictional one. In book form, however, we didn’t get to hear the magic that was created when Daisy Jones and Billy Dunne came together, baring their souls to write music, while fighting their undeniable attraction. Amazon Prime’s series remedied that problem, with two dozen original songs being created to flesh out the band’s story for its screen adaptation. Below are my rankings of the best of those tunes.

An established list of songwriters — including Blake Mills, Jackson Browne, Phoebe Bridgers, and Marcus Mumford — produced original music for the series, compiling 11 tracks for the Daisy Jones & The Six album, Aurora, on which Riley Keough, Sam Claflin and the rest of the cast members actually sang and performed. The other songs included music said to be written by the band members earlier in their career — like The Dunne Brothers’ “Flip the Switch” — and by other characters in the series — like Wyatt Stone’s “Stumbled on Sublime.” Some ditties were featured more prominently than others, and these, to me, made the biggest impact: 

7. Aurora 

When it was announced that the bestselling novel was being adapted for a series (which is available to stream with an Amazon Prime Video subscription), fans of the book were excited to see the sparks fly between the band members, but we also NEEDED to hear their music. 

“Aurora” is the opening track on Daisy Jones & The Six’s soundtrack album, and it’s a solid introduction to Riley Keough and Sam Claflin’s chemistry as vocalists. The song was featured in the book, and it really establishes what vibe the band is trying to achieve with its nod to Fleetwood Mac, which the fictional group was loosely inspired by. 

6. More Fun To Miss  

This song feels different than the others on Aurora, and maybe because narratively, Billy wrote this one for Daisy, rather than the two collaborating. It’s introduced at a pivotal moment in the series for the two singers, when you can’t tell if they’re going to kill each other or jump each other’s bones. The bluesy grit of this one, coupled with the angst that surrounds Daisy trying to perform it to Billy’s liking in the studio, makes it easily one of the highlights of the album and the show. 

5. Ya Love Ain’t Enough

This is such a fun song, and a sentimental pick to be sure, because I loved what Simone Jackson (Nabiyah Be) added to Daisy Jones & The Six. She was doing her own thing in the series, and although they gave her most of the focus in Episode 7, I wish there had been a way to incorporate her and Bernie’s (Ayesha Harris) story more throughout. “Ya Love Ain’t Enough” is a nod to the disco era, as Bernie took one of Simone’s vocal tracks, added a disco backing and made it a hit on the club scene. Simone became a star in her own right when she started doing multiple live performances of her single each night. 

4. Regret Me 

Even the title of this song oozes passion, and it was definitely one that readers were most excited to see come to life. The series didn’t disappoint. Like “More Fun to Miss,” this tune caused turmoil between Daisy and Billy, because it was not a collaboration. Daisy was inspired to write it in the aftermath of the “More Fun to Miss” debacle, and Billy didn’t want it on the album (Fleetwood Mac fans will get the “Silver Springs” parallels here). 

One big missed opportunity was not including the line, “And, baby, when you think of me, I hope it ruins rock ’n’ roll,” from the book and giving us instead the awkward, “Go ahead and regret me, but I always will too regret you.” But the cool way Daisy sings, “But I’m beatin’ you to it, dude,” lives rent-free in my brain, so all is forgiven.

3. Let Me Down Easy 

To me, “Let Me Down Easy” is the biggest earworm on Aurora, and with it being the first song Daisy and Billy wrote together, it was a treat to see it come together on screen. The opening guitar is very “Rhiannon”-esque, and it just so happens to be a favorite of Daisy Jones & The Six author, Taylor Jenkins Reid, who told TV Line:  

“Let Me Down Easy” was such a turning point for the band in the series, because Daisy was finally part of The Six, and the writing of that song really highlighted her and Billy's magnetism. 

2. The River 

If we’re talking about favorite songs, though, “The River” wins in quantity at least, as Camila Morrone (who played Camila Dunne) and Suki Waterhouse (keyboard player Karen Sirko) were among those who told Decider it was the one they liked best. Co-showrunner Will Graham told TV Line why it stuck with him: 

“The River” was featured a number of times in the series, particularly Episode 8, as we saw how Daisy was spiraling out of control a little more each time they performed it live. In Episode 10 — for the band’s final performance in Chicago — Simone Jackson even joined Daisy Jones & The Six on stage for this one. 

1. Look At Us Now (Honeycomb) 

This was the song that started it all for Daisy Jones & The Six, as well as the final song they ever sang. Billy wrote it as a love song for Camila, but it was rejected by the label. Teddy Price (Tom Wright) gave it to Daisy to get her take, and she turned it into something more complicated — much to Billy’s displeasure. With Daisy accompanying a perpetually sour Billy, the chemistry was undeniable, and Daisy’s guest appearance became a permanent gig. 

Everything came crashing down ahead of their Chicago concert, when Camila witnessed a tender moment between her husband and Daisy. When introducing “Look at Us Now (Honeycomb)” that night, Daisy finally acknowledged it as a love song and told Billy to go after Camila. Keough told TV Line this was probably her favorite song, and Claflin added what he liked about it: 

A fictional band trying to live up to the magic of Fleetwood Mac is a pretty tall order, but there’s no denying the achievement of Daisy Jones & The Six, the songwriters and musicians. The group actually became the first fictional band to hit No. 1 on iTunes with Aurora, and it’s pretty easy to see why, with the songs listed above and more continuing to live on in our heads long after finishing the Amazon Prime Video series. 

When it comes to some of the most recent book-to-screen adaptations, I can name a fair few that have become my favorite. From the Netflix hit, Shadow and Bone, to the Enola Holmes novels that became movies, but today, we’re going to talk about Daisy Jones and the Six. The book, based on the novel of the same name by Taylor Jenkins Reid, has been adapted into a miniseries – and hopefully, is going to end up becoming one of the best shows on Amazon Prime. 

The story follows a fictional band in the crazy time that was the 1970s music scene, presented in almost a documentary style where it shows background information, behind the scenes shots and interviews with “band members.” The book was quite popular and now, everyone is eager to see the show. But, who is whom in the Daisy Jones and the Six cast? Here is where you might have seen everyone before. 

Riley Keough (Daisy Jones)

First up on the list we have Riley Keough, who plays the titular character, Daisy Jones, in Daisy Jones and the Six. Keough has been in a variety of movies that you might have recognized her from, ones that have been around for years. Some of her most prominent parts were in films such as The Runaways, The Good Doctor, Magic Mike, American Honey, It Comes at Night, Logan Lucky (alongside Sebastian Stan), The House That Jack Built, The Lodge, The Devil All The Time, and more. She was also a part of the Mad Max: Fury Road cast.

In terms of television, Keough had a major role in the show, The Girlfriend Experience, but most recently, she was a part of the cast of The Terminal List, which was recently renewed. This will be her latest television work and I can’t wait to see what she does next. 

Sam Claflin (Billy Dunne)

When I think of a book-to-screen adaptation, I always think of Sam Claflin, and here he is playing Billy Dunne in Daisy Jones and the Six. To me, I’ve always thought of Finnick Odair from The Hunger Games franchise when I hear Sam Claflin’s name, but he’s been in plenty of other awesome movies that you might recognize him from. 

He’s starred in films such as Me Before You (alongside Secret Invasion cast member Emilia Clarke), Love, Rosie, Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides, Adrift, The Nightingale, Enola Holmes, Every Breath You Take, and more. On television, Claflin had a main role in the later seasons of the popular show, Peaky Blinders, and was also in shows such as White Heat, Any Human Heart, and The Pillars of the Earth . 

Camila Morrone (Camila Dunne)

Next up on the list is Camila Morrone, who plays Camila Dunne in the new series. Compared to some of her castmates, Morrone is pretty new to the world of television, with her only role so far being a guest role on the show, Love Advent. However, she’s been in a few films before her part in the Amazon miniseries. 

These include Never Goin’ Back, Death Wish, Valley Girl, Gonzo Girl, and Mickey and the Bear. Hopefully, we’ll be seeing a whole lot more of her on television after her part in Daisy Jones and the Six. 

Will Harrison (Graham Dunne)

Moving on, we take a look at Will Harrison, who portrays Graham Dunne in Daisy Jones and the Six. Like Morrone, Harrison is decently new to the world of Hollywood. He had a guest role on the show, Madam Secretary, and also had a role in the film This Is A Film About My Mother, but other than that, this is his first major role in a miniseries. It’ll be exciting to see where he goes from here. 

Suki Waterhouse (Karen Sirko)

Suki Waterhouse portrays Karen Sirko in Daisy Jones and the Six, and has appeared in a variety of movies and television series prior to her role. With films, she appeared in the Divergent franchise, specifically Insurgent, as well as The Bad Batch, Love, Rosie, Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, The Girl Who Invented Kissing, Assassination Nation, the video game adaptation Detective Pikachu, Billionaire Boys Club, and more. 

She also had guest roles on television shows such as Material Girl and Into the Dark, as well as a part on The White Princess miniseries. 

Josh Whitehouse (Eddie Roundtree)

Next up is Josh Whitehouse, who portrays Eddie Roundtree. Whitehouse has appeared in a few movies before that you might recognize him from. He was in The Knight Before Christmas, a fun little Netflix Christmas romantic comedy with Vanessa Hudgens, but he was also in the movies Northern Soul, Valley Girl, Modern Life is Rubbish, and The Receptionist. 

Whitehouse also had a main role on the television series, Poldark, and a guest role on the series, Rhyme Time Town. 

Sebastian Chacon (Warren Rhodes)

Sebastian Chacon portrays Warren Rhodes, and he’s been in plenty of television shows that you might recognize him from. He has had guest roles in several series including Mr. Robot, the underrated series The Get Down, Madam Secretary, Deception, the Ryan Murphy-created show, Pose, Narcos, Elementary, The Code, and others. He also had a role in the spinoff series, Penny Dreadful: City of Angels.

Chacon also appeared in the films Under Pressure, Puzzle, Angelfish, and Emergency.  

Nabiyah Be (Simone)

Nabiyah Be portrays Simone in the new show, and this is actually her first major television role. Her only credit thus far was a small part in the Marvel Cinematic Universe movie, Black Panther, but other than that, this will be her big-break in television and film. 

Tom Wright (Teddy Price)

Last but not least is Tom Wright, who portrays Teddy Price. Wright is an actor who has been around for a long time, so he’s had roles in plenty of movies and television shows – almost too many to count in one article. His highlights for movies include Underground USA, Reversal of Fortune, Palmetto, Handyman’s Curse, Runaway Island, Honeydripper, The Imposter, Chasing Ghosts, Troop Beverly Hills, and so many more. 

Wright also had roles in shows such as Martial Law, Extreme, Granite Flats, and had a recurring role on Station 19. 

Someone else that you'll see in Daisy Jones and the Six is Timothy Olyphant, who's returning to TV as Raylan Givens in the upcoming Justified: City Primeval, but because he only has a guest appearance, I’ll just say to keep an eye out for him alongside all these other great stars. It’s surely a great time to be a book lover with so many adaptations coming out this year and in the near future.  

By the time Taylor Jenkins Reid’s book Daisy Jones & The Six was released in 2019, a streaming series adaptation was already in the works. That means that fans who read (and loved) this documentary-style tale of the rise and fall of a 1970s rock band have been waiting years to see and hear this story come to life. That time has finally come, as the first three episodes of Daisy Jones & The Six will be available for streaming on March 3 with an Amazon Prime Video subscription, and the reviews are in to help us decide if it was worth the wait.

Riley Keough says she feels she was put on this earth to play the titular character — not because music runs in her blood, as the granddaughter of Elvis Presley, but because she connected with Daisy’s artistry and her fight to be taken seriously as a young woman. She’s joined in the series by Sam Claflin as Billy Dunne, as well as Camila Morrone, Suki Waterhouse, Timothy Olyphant and more. Let’s see what the critics are saying about the long-awaited series.

Angie Han of THR says the series preserves much of what fans love about the bestselling novel, possibly to a fault, as it lacks a little edge. However, Riley Keough fully captures Daisy Jones’ electric energy with her rock-star swagger. The critic concludes:  

Darren Franich of EW grades it a B+ saying Daisy Jones & The Six is absurd and schmaltzy but sneakily profound. The reviewer doesn’t connect with the documentary style but admits to liking the “ridiculous” series anyway, saying: 

Mary Kate Carr of AV Club also gave it a B+, noting how much fun the cast seems to have together. The set design and ‘70s-era costumes draw audiences in to the compelling love story at the center of it all, and the critic says the series is destined to be a crowd-pleaser: 

The critics seem to agree that fans of the book will likely be satisfied with the adaptation. Kate Collins of CNET says that while the overall story stays loyal to the source material, there are enough differences that the hard-core book lovers should be ready to keep an open mind. The review continues: 

Roxana Hadadi of Vulture, however, feels there’s a smallness to the Prime Video series, despite the great performances and original music, that makes the critic feel we’re “settling for a copy of a copy,” saying: 

The series has garnered generally positive marks, earning a Rotten Tomatoes score of 76% Fresh from 45 critics’ reviews. Just a few months ago things were looking wonderful for the family of Elvis Presley. The King of Rock and Roll was the subject of a new glossy biopic and the film and its performances are up for numerous awards. Then tragedy struck last month when Lisa Marie, the daughter of Elvis Presley died of cardiac arrest. Now her family is fighting over he will and tensions do not appear to be dying down anytime soon. 

Priscilla Presley, mother of Lisa Marie and former wife of Elvis has filed paperwork to contest the will of her daughter Lisa Marie. Priscilla was formerly one of the trustees of her daughter’s estate, but a document from 2016 puts that power in the hands of Lisa Marie’s own daughter, Riley Keough. Unfortunately this battle has reportedly driven a wedge between the two, and a source tells Page Six that the two are not currently speaking…

In a statement following the legal filing, Priscilla Presley stated that she was trying to keep her family together, but if the source is to be believed, the decision to contest the will is having the opposite effect. Riley and Priscilla are very much on opposite sides of this and the final decision will determine who has control of Lisa Marie's estate, so this is not a small issue. 

Priscilla is questioning the validity of the signature on the document that made Riley the trustee of the estate. She also claims she never saw the document until after her daughter’s death, which was in violation of the rules of the trust at that time.

We’ve seen comments like this from sources close to the family previously. Certainly, the death of Priscilla’s daughter and Riley’s mother would be the sort of event that would bring them closer together, but unfortunately this hasn’t been the case. Other sources have claimed that this issue is taking a toll on Riley, who simply wants to fulfill her mother’s wishes, during a period when she’s still dealing with her mother’s death. Now the legal battle is just adding to the stress. 

At some point, a court will rule on the document at issue. Once that happens we can assume things will try to go back to normal, but the bigger question may be what will happen to the family at that point. No matter how the court rules there will be one side that is left unhappy by the result. This could ultimately cause a rift between grandmother and granddaughter that takes a long time to be repaired, assuming it ever is repaired at all. 

Not only is the 1970s wardrobe A+ in the upcoming series Daisy Jones and The Six, the actors who make up the legendary fictional band are also fashionistas in their own right. This was on full display at the series premiere as the stars, namely Riley Keough and Suki Waterhouse, walked the carpet in ensembles that featured plunging necklines, a sheer dress, statement earrings and more, taking some of the hottest trends of the last few years, and mixing them with the nostalgic vibes of the ‘70s. 

The amazing night of fashion started with Daisy Jones herself, as Riley Keough rocked a two-piece black ensemble with a v-shaped plunging neckline, a sparkly skirt, black opera gloves and big, bold, emerald earrings. 

In the show, and in the book, Daisy Jones is known for her hoop earrings and bold fashion choices. Keough, who was born to play The Six’s frontwoman, brought that vibe to the carpet, but added her own personal twist to it, and she looked fabulous. The bright green earrings stand out with the black outfit, and they were complemented beautifully by her ginger hair. Overall, Keough's outfit was a glamorous look that fit the energy of Daisy Jones and The Six by paying homage to the '70s while capitalizing on the trends of today.

Keough wasn’t the only actor who brought their fashion A-game to the premiere. Camila Morrone rocked a black ensemble with a sheer cape that was stunning, and the boys all showed up in '70s-inspired fits. However, the other standout fashion moment came from Suki Waterhouse, who rocked a gorgeous emerald green sheer gown that featured a deep plunging neckline, like Keough’s. 

Sheer is having a major moment, and the actress who plays Karen in the show is continuing the trend, while also making it her own. The bold color of the singer/actress’s look reminded me of Florence Pugh’s bright pink sheer Valentino look. The overall vibe of the Daisy Jones and The Six star’s look was also very reminiscent of Jenna Ortega’s semi-sheer black gown. Along with the gown, both actresses have bangs that framed their faces beautifully and they complimented the looks with neutral glam. However, what made Waterhouse's look so unique was the plunging neckline that was bordered by green gems. Overall, it was a glamorous look that would make both Daisy Jones and Florence Pugh proud. 

These looks made me even more excited for this highly anticipated entry on the 2023 TV schedule. After seeing the show’s trailer, and reading the book, fashion is clearly a priority in this story, and really helps immerse you into this rock ‘n roll myth.  I love that the actors took inspiration from their upcoming series, and brought their fashion A-games to the red carpet, however, it’s clear Riley Keough and Suki Waterhouse won the night with their '70s-inspired trendy looks.

When you look at the cover of the novel Daisy Jones and the Six you are met by a woman staring confidently into the camera with big, curly ginger hair framing her face. That is Daisy Jones. I don’t know about you, but when I saw this woman for the first time, I immediately started to think about who could play her in a series or movie, and once I knew Riley Keough was cast in the titular role, it felt perfect. Now, the actress is opening up about why she also felt the urge to play Dasiy Jones, and how she connected to her complicated character. 

On the surface, Keough fits Daisy’s physical description perfectly. Her curly ginger hair and big eyes are so much like the rockstar’s description in the book, and watching Keough act, she has the confidence and ease of the fictional rockstar we’re about to see on screen in the highly anticipated Dasiy Jones and the Six. Turns out, the actress, also knew she should be playing this character, and when Keough met with the showrunners and producers, she told them, per NYT:

She then reflected on this declaration, and explained how she related to the rockstar, and why she felt the need to bring Daisy and The Six’s story to life:

Keough’s explanation for why she connected to Dasiy makes perfect sense. Being a woman, and being taken seriously as an artist is difficult, and the rockstar’s story is one that I’m sure many others have lived, no matter their creative medium.

Another reason why Keough is the perfect fit for Daisy is her history with rock ‘n roll. Her grandfather is Elvis Presley, and her mother is the late Lisa Marie Presley. While the actress may have never gotten into music herself, her family history is steeped in it, so I assume she has a unique take on what it meant to be a musician coming up in the '50s, ‘60s and ‘70s based on her grandfather’s experience. 

Hearing Keough’s enthusiasm for the role, and passion for Daisy Jones, makes me, a fan of the book, confident that this show will be amazing. Between this phenomenal actress in the titular role, and the lengths the creative team has gone to to make Dasiy Joens and the Six, it’s clear they are passionate about and love the work.

It’s been a “very tense and heartbreaking few weeks” for both Riley Keough and Priscilla Presley following the death of Lisa Marie Presley, and especially now that the two are in a legal battle. While this should be a celebratory time for Keough as her highly anticipated show Dasiy Jones and the Six is set to premiere soon on the 2023 TV schedule, this ongoing legal matter with her grandmother is reportedly taking a toll. 

In the days following Keough paying tribute to her mother after her tragic death, it was revealed that she’s also been dealing with a legal battle as Pricilla Presley contests her daughter’s will. ET spoke with a source who claims to be aware of how the Dasiy Jones and the Six star is doing, and explained: 

This can’t be an easy time for Keough, losing a family member is never easy and when the courts get involved it becomes even more complex. This is also coming in the month leading up to the release of her new show Daisy Jones and the Six, where she plays the titular character. 

While it’s a bummer that this situation is apparently taking a toll on her, having the series to look forward to as well as her daughter and husband to support her must help raise her spirits a bit. However, the source made it clear Keough is very stressed about this trust situation, and is not pleased with it becoming a public matter, explaining: 

The source continued by saying the two are preparing to go to court over the trust. The document in question says Keough and her 14-year-old twin siblings Harper and Finley will get Graceland. It also became known that the actress and her late brother Benjamin were named co-trustees of Lisa Marie’s trust in 2016, and now Priscilla is now contesting the validity of the trust. 

I’d imagine mourning her mother and dealing with this legal battle is making it hard for Keough to celebrate her new show. However, as the quote said, hopefully, the premiere of Daisy Jones and the Six and spending time with her new family can help the actress find some light during this difficult time.

The death of Lisa Marie Presley has set off a legal battle between the late singer’s estate and her mother Priscilla Presley. The former wife of Elvis is contesting the will of her daughter, claiming that a document might not be authentic. While Priscilla, has claimed she is trying to keep her family together, the daughter of Lisa Marie is reportedly now at odds with her grandmother and “disappointed” in the current state of affairs.

Under the current terms of the last will of Lisa Marie Presley, her daughter Riley Keough is to act as trustee of the estate. However, it’s the signature on a 2016 document that transferred trusteeship from Priscilla to Riley that Priscilla Presley is currently contesting. This will almost certainly lead to a legal conflict inside the Presley family, which a source tells ET is disappointing to Riley as she simply wants to fulfill her mother’s wishes.

While a statement from Priscilla Presley following her decision to contest the will stated a desire to keep the family together, the source claims that Riley sees her grandmother’s actions as doing precisely the opposite. The source also says that Riley and Priscilla are not currently close, but Riley is interested in changing that, though this legal issue may stand in the way of that.

Last month Priscilla Presley filed documents to contest the will of Lisa Marie. Prior to 2016, Priscilla was one of the trustees of her daughter’s estate, but a recently discovered 2016 document transfers that responsibility to Lisa Marie’s children Riley and Benjamin Keough. Benjamin passed away in 2020, leaving Riley as the sole trustee.

Priscilla is claiming there are irregularities with this new document, including that the signature on it does not match Lisa Marie’s signature, and that the document was not previously delivered to her, as it should have been under the previous terms of the trust. Priscilla is asking that both she and Riley be set as co-trustees, as the other former trustee along with Priscilla, her business manager Barry Siegel, is planning to resign from the position.

It's unfortunately not uncommon for battles over money, and control of it, to emerge after somebody's death. We recently watched a similar situation play out following the death of actress Anne Heche. Since Heche had no will, there was a conflict regarding who should be in charge of her estate. In the end, her eldest son Homer was placed in charge.

At this point, it seems a judge will need to rule to bring this issue to a close. If the document at issue is seen as valid then things will stay as they are and Riley will remain as trustee of the estate. If there is a desire to keep the family together then hopefully whatever happens the family of Lisa Marie Presley will be able to move past all this once the decision has been made.

The Mad Max: Fury Road alum and her family had plenty of support at the service, according to ET. A number of people attended the funeral in Memphis, Tennessee, and it included quite a few musical selections from noted stars. The Smashing Pumpkins’ Billy Corgan sang a rendition of “To Sheila,” while Jason Clark & The Tennessee Mass Choir performed “Amazing Grace” and “Revelation 19:1.’” Alanis Morissette warmed hearts with “Rest,” and Guns ‘N Roses founding member Axl Rose, who also spoke about his friendship with late “So Lovely” singer during the proceedings, belted out “November Rain.” 

Lisa Marie Presley’s family – specifically her mother, Priscilla and her three children – surely appreciated the love. At present, the brood is facing a multitude of changes – particularly the kids, who now have the Graceland estate. Presley’s 14-year-old twin girls, Harper and Finley, are also now in the custody of her ex-husband, Michael Lockwood, who spoke out about her death and how he and their kids are doing. One would imagine that the two teens along with sister Riley Keough and her daughter, will seek to keep their mom and grandmother’s legacy alive for years to come.

The split would eventually be finalized in 2021, and Presley – the only child of Elvis Presley – received custody of the children. In the wake of Lisa Marie’s passing, it’s been determined that Lockwood will now have the girls full-time. Sources allege to TMZ that Harper and Finley are adamant about being with their father. The two have reportedly been living with Lockwood since their mother’s death and are already becoming acclimated to the new situation. 

That last tidbit of news on the girls lines up with information that was previously reported. It was claimed that both girls refused to go back to their mom’s house after her death. Because of that, the two were reportedly staying at the home of their maternal grandmother, Priscilla Presley, as they all processed their grief. 

This weekend, Lisa Marie Presley is to be laid to rest at Graceland, where her father and late son, Benjamin, are also buried. Speaking of the Presley family compound in Memphis, the estate will now be entrusted to Harper and Finley as well as Presley’s older daughter, actress Riley Keough. Just recently, Keough lovingly paid tribute to her mother with a sweet post that garnered reactions from the likes of Kim Kardashian and Nicole Richie. 

It goes without saying that this is an incredibly difficult time for the Presleys and their extended family at this time. But Michael Lockwood’s statement and those from other relatives indicate that the group is seeking to maintain a strong, united front. Billy Bush, who had interviewed her on the red carpet that night, explained that told his crew he had noticed that “something’s off,” because she was talking slowly and struggling to get up the stairs to chat with him. 

Now, a little over a week after her death, Presley’s 14-year-old twins reportedly won’t go home, and there are questions about whose custody they will enter into. Along with this news, it was announced that Lisa Marie Presley will be laid to rest near her father’s grave in Graceland, and her daughters will take over the estate.

It’s been just under a week since the world bid farewell to entertainer and superstar offspring Lisa Marie Presley, who passed away on January 12 after being taken to the hospital for a suspected cardiac arrest. In the time since that unfortunate incident, many from the worlds of film, music, television and beyond have shared lots of praise for the singer. Now it’s being reported that she’ll soon be heading to her final resting place, and it’s confirmed she’ll be buried next to her late son Benjamin, and not far from her legendary father, Elvis Presley.

The Presley family compound, located in Memphis, is currently the site where preparations are taking place for Lisa Marie Presley to be interred, according to TMZ. The family is getting ready for a Celebration of Life ceremony set for Sunday, January 22, which will take place at the famed backyard fountain located at Graceland, and will be open to the public. 

Lisa Marie Presley’s burial spot, which is being excavated, will reportedly be just beside son Benjamin, who died of suicide in 2020. As well, she’ll be across the fountain from her iconic father and his own father Vernon Elvis Presley, who passed away 2 years after the King’s shocking 1977 death, as well as mother Gladys Love Smith, who died in 1958. 

It appears as if more preparations are in place for Sunday’s event, with a stage being constructed on Graceland’s front lawn, where fans have been leaving many bouquets of flowers since Lisa Marie Presley’s death. At this time, no one has specifically been announced to pay tribute outside of presumed family members, but it wouldn’t be completely out of place for a few other noteworthy names to stop by with kind words and a tip of the hat. 

As Elvis fans and Graceland enthusiasts are likely well aware, the lavish tourist-friendly spot has a camera feed that shares footage of the grounds 24/7 via the establishment’s website. It was noted that the camera feeds were shut off completely for a time, and it’s suspected that was to allow the event prep to happen away from the public’s eyes. 

A former Scientologist who was rumored to potentially be involved in Danny Masterson’s court case, Lisa Marie Presley was survived by her three daughters: 33-year-old actress Riley Keough (with ex-husband Danny Keough) and 14-year old twins Harper and Finley (with ex-husband Michael Lockwood). According to a legal trust, the trio will now be in charge of Graceland, which was initially passed down to the King’s only daughter, Lisa Marie Presley after he died. She was only 9 years old at the time, and gained full ownership at 25 after the trust dissolved. It’s unclear at this point if the daughters will make any changes to how Graceland operates.

Now, her twins are reportedly refusing to go back to their home, while there may still be some issues with their custody.

What’s Going On With Lisa Marie Presley’s Twins Now?

It was last Thursday when the world was stunned by the news that Presley was rushed to the hospital after a cardiac event, which she suffered in her home in Calabasas, California. According to TMZ, her young twins, 14-year-old daughters Finley and Harper, whom she had with ex-husband Michael Lockwood, have refused to return to the home where their mom suffered her cardiac arrest. As such, they’re said to be spending most of their time at their maternal grandmother’s home in Los Angeles, with their older sibling also there as they all begin to cope with their loss.

Presley and Lockwood married in 2006, with their divorce being finalized after a five-year legal battle, in 2021. While the two had finally come to some agreements about child support in early October 2022, they were still in the midst of some legal issues regarding finances because of their protracted divorce/child support disagreements at the time of her death. However, with their father having had 40 percent custody before Presley’s death, one might assume that the girls would, eventually, go to live with him, but, the situation may not be so cut and dry.

What Might Be The Custody Problems With Lisa Marie Presley’s Twin Girls?

According to a different report from TMZ, it’s possible that another one of her ex-husbands, Danny Keough, and/or their 33-year-old daughter Riley (who stars in the upcoming Daisy Jones and the Six), will petition the court for custody of the twins, despite the fact that California law would allow Lockwood to take full custody in the light of Presley’s death. Supposedly, Keough sees himself as the girls’ “stepfather” even though he and Michael Jackson’s former spouse divorced, after six years of marriage, in the spring of 1994.

During their marriage, they also had a son, Benjamin, who sadly died by suicide in 2020. The former couple began living together again in the wake of his death, with him helping his former wife care for her younger children. With there allegedly being a lot of less-than-friendly feelings between Keough and Lockwood, those close to the family believe that he might want to step into a full parental role for the twins. 

It’s also thought that Priscilla Presley could make a bid for custody, but anyone who attempts such a move would have to prove that the girls’ dad is unfit in some way. And, if anyone does try to take custody away from him, with his daughters being teens, the judge would want to hear from them to determine where they should live.

All around, it’s an incredibly sad situation, so here’s hoping that the best course of action for the kids is found quickly as they cope with their mom’s death.

There were some iconic movies that came out during the 2010s. You could think of many of the films within the Marvel Cinematic Universe. You could look at major steps in cinema like Avatar. Or, you can think of a post-apocalyptic movie called Mad Max: Fury Road. 

The film, which was the fourth in the Mad Max franchise and was a reboot, was a success at the box office and ended up scoring ten nominations at the Academy Awards – something that was unprecedented for a film like this, and won six, more than any other movie that year. It truly was a film of its time and became one we all loved in 2015. 

The film was amazing for many reasons that I could go on for hours about, but something we need to talk about now is its stellar cast. From stars like Charlize Theron and Tom Hardy to Zoë Kravitz, this movie was stacked from top to bottom. If you’ve been wondering what the cast of Mad Max: Fury Road has been up to these last seven years (that’s right, it’s been that long), here is where you may have seen them. 

Tom Hardy (“Mad” Max Rockatansky)

Starting off with the star of Mad Max: Fury Road, Tom Hardy played Max Rockatansky, and the actor has been quite busy in Hollywood, appearing in several films. Most notably, he took on the role of Eddie Brock, who becomes Venom in the Venom film series, but he’s also appeared in other major roles, such as in Christopher Nolan's Dunkirk, The Revenant, alongside Leonardo DiCaprio, Capone, and more. 

He also had a supporting role on Peaky Blinders and a part in the miniseries, Taboo. Coming up, Tom Hardy will be in the action thriller, Havoc, and a new movie called The Bikeriders, so keep an eye out for those roles. 

Charlize Theron (Imperator Furiosa)

Playing Imperator Furiosa in Mad Max: Fury Road was Charlize Theron, someone who completely changed her look for the role and rocked it. Theron has done so much in the film industry these last several years, appearing in major roles in movies such as Atomic Blonde, Tully, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, The Old Guard, and most recently in the 2022 film, The School for Good and Evil. 

She was also in the Bombshell cast, and was in both The Fate of the Furious and F9. Coming up, she’s going to be in Fast X, The Old Guard 2, and the eleventh Fast and the Furious film, which has yet to be given an official name. But, it’ll be fun to see her in an action role again. 

Nicholas Hoult (Nux)

Nux was hands down one of the best characters in Mad Max: Fury Road, and he was portrayed by Nicholas Hoult. The young actor has been extremely active these last few years. He’s taken to television by co-starring in the Hulu original series, The Great, which is set to get a third season soon. 

In terms of movies, Hoult has done plenty, finishing out his part as Beast in the X-Men film franchise (unless he somehow shows up in the MCU), and in other big movies such as The Favourite, Tolkien, Those Who Wish Me Dead, and The Banker. Most recently in 2022, he is in The Menu alongside Anya Taylor-Joy and Ralph Fiennes. Coming up, he’ll be in the film, Renfield, as well as have a voice role in Garfield. 

Hugh Keays-Byrne (Immortan Joe)

Immortan Joe was the big baddie of Mad Max: Fury Road, and he was played by Hugh Keays-Byrne, who actually portrayed Toecutter in the original Mad Max in 1979. The actor had been around for years prior to his big role in this popular movie, but unfortunately, he passed away in 2020, with Immortan Joe being his last film role prior to his death. 

Josh Helman (Slit)

Next up, we take a look at Josh Helman, who portrayed Slit in Mad Max: Fury Road. He played William Stryker in X-Men: Apocalypse, which he reprised from an earlier film, and appeared in movies such as My Name is Lenny, Feast of the Seven Fishes, Monster Hunted, Small Engine Repair, and Thirteen Lives. 

Helman also had a main role in the horror sci-fi show Wayward Pines, as well as a part in The Loudest Voice miniseries, and was also in shows like Deputy and Troppo. Coming up, he’ll have a voice role on the Harley Quinn animated series. 

Nathan Jones (Rictus Erectus) 

Moving on, we have Nathan Jones, who played Rictus Erectus in Mad Max: Fury Road. The actor is primarily known for his wrestling work, but he’s had a few acting roles since his part here, in movies such as Boar, Hobbs & Shaw, Mortal Kombat, and Spiderhead. He is set to reprise his role of Rictus Erectus in the upcoming Furiosa prequel movie. 

Zoë Kravitz (Toast The Knowing)

Zoë Kravitz has done so much with her career since she was Toast the Knowing in the Mad Max: Fury Road cast. Kravitz, in 2022, had a major role as Selina Kyle in The Batman, but she’s had plenty of other major parts in movies, like when she finished up the Divergent series, appeared in Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald, Kin, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, and KIMI. 

Kravitz also had a main role in Big Little Lies, as well as the lead role in the Hulu series remake of High Fidelity. Coming up, Kravitz doesn’t have any new acting roles set, but she is making her directorial debut with the film, Pussy Island. 

Rosie Huntington-Whiteley (The Splendid Angharad)

Next up, we have Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, who played The Splendid Angharad in Mad Max: Fury Road. Huntington-Whiteley is mainly known for her modeling, as she’s worked in that industry for several years. Whiteley hasn’t done anything else within the movie and TV industry besides Mad Max: Fury Road, but she is still one of the world's most recognizable models. 

Riley Keough (Capable)

Riley Keough portrayed Capable in Mad Max: Fury Road, and she is another person who also does a lot of modeling, but since her role in the film, she’s appeared in a variety of movies and television shows. On the big screen, she had major roles in Lovesong, American Honey, We Don’t Belong Here, It Comes at Night, Logan Lucky, The Lodge, Zola, The Devil All The Time and more. She also directed War Pony. 

In television, she starred as Sara Ganim in the HBO television film, Paterno, and had a lead role in the series, The Girlfriend Experience. She also had a main role on The Terminal List. Coming up, she is set to have a lead role in the miniseries, Daisy Jones & The Six. 

Abbey Lee (The Dag)

Abbey Lee played The Dag in Mad Max: Fury Road, and she’s done a lot for herself over the last couple of years. Lee is primarily known to be a supermodel, but she’s done plenty in movies and television. Some of her most known roles in film since Mad Max have been in Gods of Egypt, Office Christmas Party, The Dark Tower, Elizabeth Harvest, The Forgiven and the M. Night Shyamalan movie, Old. 

In television, she also had a regular role as Christina Braithwhite on Lovecraft Country – a series that was canceled far too soon, if you ask me. Coming up, she will be in a new TV series called Florida Man, and in a new movie called Horizon. 

Courtney Eaton (Cheedo The Fragile)

Courtney Eaton played Cheedo the Fragile, the last of the five wives in Mad Max: Fury Road, and Eaton has done well for herself in movies and TV. With film, she was in Gods of Egypt (alongside Lee), Newness, Perfect, and Line of Duty. Most recently, she had a recurring role as Lottie Matthews in the Yellowjackets cast, a popular (and really good) Showtime series that is getting a Season 2. Coming up, she is set to be in a new film called September 17th. 

John Howard (The People Eater)

Moving on, we take a look at John Howard, who played The People Eater in Mad Max: Fury Road. Since his role in the film, he’s been in several television shows like The Warriors, Soul Mates, and SeaChange. He also had appearances in films like Last Cab to Darwin and Extra Time. Howard doesn’t have anything new coming up, but I’m sure it won’t be long before we see him again. 

Richard Carter (The Bullet Farmer)

Last but not least, we have Richard Carter, who played The Bullet Farmer in Mad Max: Fury Road. Unfortunately, Richard Carter passed away in 2019, so this was his final film role. 

With so many actors and actresses, it’s no wonder that most of them have been busy working on new things in the industry, from movies to television. I don’t think we’ll get another movie like Mad Max: Fury Road for some time, but we can look back on the cast and thank them for the incredible performances they gave, and also look for some of their new series and films to watch. Now, if you don’t mind me, I’m going to re-watch all of The Great before Season 3.

What Happened At The End Of Zola?

As Taylour Paige’s Zola quickly learns during her road trip with Riley Keough’s Stefani, she was taken advantage of and finds herself in the middle of some messy business between a pimp and sex worker. The man named X, who is initially introduced to Zola as simply Stefani’s roommate is in fact her pimp, and an especially dangerous one that threatens Zola into joining their sex work business. At first, Zola, who is pushed into a corner by X, helps Stefani get 20 customers in a single night as a trade off for actually getting under the sheets. As the trip goes on, Zola is forced to continue to accompany Stefani on her calls, leading to a final house call that ends in Stefani getting snatched and Zola booking it out of the building.

X makes Stefani’s boyfriend Derrek and Zola return to the motel room to retrieve Stefani with him, where they meet a pair of guys who apparently deal in the same business and weren't happy by them being on their turf. With a gun to his head, the man asked X for money for Stefani. X distracts one of the guys with Zola, as he claims he will give Zola to them before pulling a gun and shooting one of them, allowing Zola, Stefani, X and Derrek to get out. They go to X's massive Florida house where Derrek claims he is going to kill himself if Stefani doesn’t stop working with X, which she somehow still plans to continue after the debacle. Derrek then jumps off the balcony of the house and is seen being driven to a hospital with a minor injury with Zola, Derrek and Stefani in the car. And that's where Zola ends.

A Couple Of Differences Between The End Of The Movie And The Twitter Thread

Although the movie places Zola in the motel room and sees her being groped by a man as X uses her to get out of the motel situation prior to her exit, in the Twitter thread itself Zola was not in the same room, but instead in the hallway. Therefore, she didn’t actually see X shoot anyone, but only heard the gunshot and was told that it took place. Also, Zola ends on a much more abrupt note than the actual Twitter thread goes. Aziah Wells King ends the tweet story by going to the airport and flying back to Detroit with Stefani's boyfriend (Derek in the movie, but Jarrett in the thread and in real life). Zola’s boyfriend picks them up and they drop him off at his home.

Aziah Wells King’s story went viral in October 2015 and became a national news story. Four months after the thread was published, she met with James Franco about her story becoming a movie, per Vulture. While Franco was initially tapped to direct Zola, following sexual misconduct allegations against him, the project landed in Janicza Bravo's hands, who co-wrote and directed the movie. Zola has been involved in the production of the film, serving as an executive producer. Zola is currently living in Atlanta, Georgia with her two young daughters, she recently released a collection of five songs and runs a popular OnlyFans account.

What's Been Said About Stefani And X After Zola

Although the movie gives little context about what happens to Stefani (her actual name is Jessica) after the events of Zola, the Twitter thread details that Stefani contacted Zola four days after the road trip to tell her that she and X had been arrested for sex trafficking in Las Vegas. She also allegedly told her that her pimp was “wanted for kidnapping 15 underage girls and is linked to 6 murders” including at least one in Florida. Zola refused to help her or relay her pleas for her boyfriend to bail her out. Aziah Wells King said in the thread that she found out later that Jessica claimed to be a victim in court and was freed from jail and went home to Detroit to be with her young daughter.

Following the viral Twitter thread, Stefani/Jessica posted her own side of the story to a Reddit thread, which the movie depicts. In her own recounting, she denies much of the story and claims that Zola was the one who was doing the sex work instead of her. In the thread, Jessica also says that X ended up in jail, but she claims to be an innocent bystander in the whole affair. Today, Jessica speaks out about sex trafficking and is raising her daughter. X apparently did not actually shoot anyone in the motel (confirmed by Jarrett and local authorities), but the pimp, whose real name is Rudy Uwedjojevwe, pleaded guilty to charges of sex trafficking and coercion and is serving a 16-year prison term, though he is now up for parole, per Slate.

And What About Stefani’s Boyfriend?

Finally, let’s talk about what happened to Stefani’s boyfriend Derrek, portrayed by Nicholas Braun in Zola, and referred to as Jarrett in the Twitter thread. While Zola claims that Jarrett jumped off the balcony in the thread and it happens in the movie as well, apparently this moment in the story is false. Zola, Stefani and Jarrett have all since said that he only threatened to jump and didn’t actually do it. Jarrett Scott said he decided to leave for the airport with Zola, and they went home to Detroit and he ended his relationship with Stefani for good, per his Rolling Stone interview. Scott also has some different memories from Zola's too, but the movie is clearly being adapted from her tweets rather than multiple perspectives and he said-she saids.

A24 has made a relatively big splash since distributing its first films back in 2013. The small, indie-focused distributor now has a number of major titles under its belt, with the awards to show for it. A24’s latest project, Zola, just released its first trailer and it came with an amazing tagline.

Zola, which is based on a wildly popular Twitter thread, dropped the tagline today, along with a trailer that promises debauchery and comedy of all sorts. Check it out:

“Ya’ll wanna hear a story about why me & this bitch here fell out? It’s kind of long but full of suspense.” How’s that for a tagline? That quote is actually pulled from the exact tweet that kicked off the famous twitter thread that inspired the movie. For those of you who didn’t catch the historic thread back in 2015, you can read the entire thing here. Be warned though, it will surely spoil the events of Zola.

From the trailer it looks like Zola will follow the same structure as the thread, where Zola meets Stefani (renamed for the movie) while waitressing at Hooters. After the pair bond over their mutual love for stripping, Stefani invites Zola on a trip to Florida. Zola agrees and subsequently finds herself caught up in a much more dangerous situation than she anticipated.

Although the film first premiered at Sundance in 2020, it will now be released on June 30, 2021. The cast for Zola is pretty stacked, too. Taylour Paige, who fans may recognize from Ma Rainey's Black Bottom, will star as Zola, while indie-star Riley Keough will play Stefani.

Zola was directed by up-and-coming director Janicza Bravo, who worked on FX’s hit series Atlanta as well as 2017’s Lemon. Based on early reviews, it looks like she's avoided the sophomore slump with twitter-based biography.

The tag line is fitting for both the film and A24, who has made headlines for some of their wilder promotions over the years. Back in 2019 the distributor hilariously offered free couples counseling while promoting Ari Aster’s folk-horror hit Midsommar.

From this trailer and the twitter thread Zola is based on, it looks like some counseling could have been beneficial for those involved back in 2015, when A’Ziah-Monae “Zola” King first tweeted about the experience. I’m sure that A24 has another sneaky marketing scheme up its sleeve for this movie, so keep your eyes on A24’s twitter account for the latest.

Amazing tagline aside, I’m pumped to see Zola when it comes out. The trailer looks fun, suspenseful and hilarious. Plus A24, who is known to distribute more off-beat indie fare, has a pretty damn good track record as of late, so I’m willing to bet it’s a quality production.

Based on the novel of the same name by Donald Ray Pollock (who also serves as the movie's narrator), Netflix's The Devil All The Time is a morbid and moody streaming exclusive, featuring an all-star ensemble which includes noteworthy stars like Tom Holland, Robert Pattinson, Bill Skarsgard, Mia Wasikowska, Haley Bennett, Sebastian Stan, Riley Keough, Jason Clarke, and more. Co-written and directed by Antonio Campos (Christine), it's not an easy film to watch, and it ultimately divided critics, though its substantial star power made it a Netflix hit shortly after its debut.

While watching the film, if you found yourself wondering where you've seen this actor or that person before, we're here to help. Tom Holland (Arvin Eugene Russell)

As Arvin Eugene Russell, the son of Willard and Charlotte and the step brother of Leonara, Tom Holland plays the lead role in The Devil All The Time. By now, most moviegoers know Holland best as Peter Parker/Spider-Man in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The English actor played the part in five films, including Captain America: Civil War, Spider-Man: Homecoming, Avengers: Infinity War, Avengers: Endgame, and Spider-Man: Far From Home. In addition to these mega-blockbusters,

Holland also starred in The Impossible, Locke, In the Heart of the Sea, The Lost City of Z, The Current War, and How I Live Now. Additionally, he provided his voice to last year's Spies in Disguise and this year's Dolittle and Onward. Outside of film, Holland notably played the title role in a stage production of Billy Elliott. Next, the actor will be seen in Chaos Walking, Cherry, and Uncharted.

Bill Skarsgård (Willard Russell)

In the role of Willard Russell, Arvin's father and Charlotte's husband, Bill Skarsgard is seen prominently in the first act of The Devil All The Time. The Swedish actor has been in the acting business in 2000, though he didn't find a wide audience until he memorably adopted the role of Pennywise in IT and IT: Chapter Two.

Prior to these horror hits, Skarsgard was also seen in Anna Karenina, The Divergent Series: Allegiant, and Atomic Blonde, to name a few. Following IT's success, Skarsgard nabbed some more high profile roles in movies like Deadpool 2, Assassination Nation, and Villains. Outside of film, the actor played a role in Netflix's Hemlock Grove and he was recently seen in Hulu's Castle Rock. Up next, Skarsgard is set to be seen in Naked Singularity and Cherry, which also stars Tom Holland.

Riley Keough (Sandy Henderson)

Playing the part of Sandy Henderson, a serial killer in an unsettling marriage with Carl, Riley Keough provides one of the lead roles in The Devil All The Time. The eldest granddaughter of Elvis Presley, Keough has impressed in a variety of movies and shows — both big and small — within the past few years. She made her debut in The Runaways back in 2010, and she was notably seen in the lead role of The Girlfriend Experience's acclaimed first season. 

Other noteworthy appearances include Magic Mike, Mad Max: Fury Road, American Honey, It Comes At Night, Logan Lucky, The House That Jack Built, Jack & Diane, Hold the Dark, Paterno, The Lodge, and Earthquake Bird. Also, Keough starred in Zola, which earned a great deal of acclaim following its premiere at this year's Sundance Film Festival. It's unclear when it's expected to be released.

Jason Clarke (Carl Henderson)

As Carl Henderson, a serial killer in a troubling relationship with his wife Sandy, Jason Clarke plays a key role throughout The Devil All The Time. The Australian actor has bounced between film and television since the mid '90s, though he later found success and recognition in movie roles like Public Enemies, Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps, Trust, and Lawless before Zero Dark Thirty, The Great Gatsby, White House Down, and Dawn of the Planet of the Apes made him a prominent performer. 

From there, Clarke has notably been seen in Terminator Genisys, Everest, All I See Is You, Mudbound, Chappaquiddick, Winchester, First Man, and last year's Serenity and Pet Sematary remake. He's also known for his starring role in the series Brotherhood, which ran from 2006-2008. The actor was also seen in last year's mini-series, Catherine the Great. Next, he'll be seen in Silk Road.

Eliza Scanlen (Lenora Laferty)

In the role of Lenora Laferty, Arvin's adopted step sister, Eliza Scanlen plays a tragic role throughout the middle section of The Devil All The Time. The Australian actress is a relative newcomer, though she got her start on the popular soap opera series, Home and Away. From there, she starred in HBO's mini-series, Sharp Objects, and she played Beth March in Greta Gerwig's Little Women. 

Most recently, Scanlen was seen in the acclaimed indie, Babyteeth, earlier this year. Outside of film and television, Scanlen appeared in stage productions of To Kill a Mockingbird and Lord of the Flies last year. She also wrote and directed the short film Mukbang earlier this year. Next, Scanlen is expected to be seen in M. Night Shyamalan's newest untitled thriller, which is currently slated for release on July 23rd, 2021.

Sebastian Stan (Sheriff Lee Bodecker)

As Sheriff Lee Bodecker, Sandy's law enforcement brother, Sebastian Stan plays a prominent role in the second half of The Devil All The Time. Much like his co-star Tom Holland, Sebastian Stan is best known for his commitments to the MCU in the role of Bucky Barnes, i.e. The Winter Soldier. As this (occasionally) antagonistic character, Stan has been seen in Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Ant-Man, Captain America: Civil War, Black Panther, Avengers: Infinity War, and Avengers: Endgame. 

Outside of Marvel movies, Stan is known or recognized for his performances in films like I, Tonya, Ricki and the Flash, The Martian, Destroyer, The Bronze, Black Swan, Logan Lucky, Hot Tub Time Machine, and Rachel Getting Married. He also starred in Gossip Girl and the mini-series Political Animals. He'll next be seen in Monday, which recently premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival, and 355.

Robert Pattinson (Reverend Preston Teagardin)

In the role of Reverend Preston Teagardin, a shady new preacher, Robert Pattinson provides a memorable turn throughout the mid-section of The Devil All The Time. Though he's still best known for his role as Edward Cullen in the Twilight saga, Pattinson has since expanded himself into a variety of bold and off-kilter projects, both big and small. 

Notably, Pattinson has starred in Good Time, The Lighthouse, High Life, The Rover, Cosmopolis, Maps to the Stars, The Lost City of Z, Damsel, Queen of the Desert, The King, and Waiting for the Barbarians. He also recently starred in Tenet, and he's been seen in films like Water For Elephants, Remember Me, How To Be, Little Ashes, Vanity Fire, Life, The Childhood of a Leader, and Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. Next, Pattinson stars in The Batman, one of his most high-profile roles yet.

Haley Bennett (Charlotte Russell)

Playing the part of Charlotte Russell, Arvin's mother and Willard's wife, Haley Bennett played an emotional role in the first 30 minutes of The Devil All The Time. Making her debut in 2007's Music and Lyrics, Bennett has been seen in films like College, Marley & Me, Kaboom, Kristy, The Equalizer, The Magnificent Seven (2016), The Girl on the Train, Hardcore Henry, Rules Don't Apply, Thank You For Your Service, and The Red Sea Diving Resort. 

She was also seen in Swallow earlier this year, where she also served as an executive producer. Up next, Bennett is set to be seen in Hillbilly Elegy, which is another Netflix prestige drama, later this year. She's also attached to Cyrano, the new film from Joe Wright, her partner.

Harry Melling (Roy Laferty)

As Roy Laferty, Lenora's evangelical preacher and Lenora's father, Harry Melling is a prominent player in the first third of The Devil All The Time. To many, Melling is most commonly known for playing Dudley Dursley in the Harry Potter franchise. these popular fantasy films remained his only film acting experience, though he branched out into other cinematic endeavors with 2016's The Lost City Of Z, which also starred Tom Holland and Robert Pattinson. 

From there, Melling was seen in The Ballad of Buster Scruggs, The Keeper, Waiting for the Barbarians, and, most recently, The Old Guard —another high-profile Netflix blockbuster. While these titles remain his only film roles, it's worth noting that Melling also starred in shows like Merlin, His Dark Materials, and 2019's War of the Worlds. Next, he'll star in Say Your Prayers and Macbeth. Additionally, he'll appear in Netflix's The Queen's Gambit.

Mia Wasikowska (Helen Hatton Laferty)

Playing the role of Helen Hatton Laferty, Lenora's mother and Roy's husband, Mia Wasikowska isn't given a lot of screentime in The Devil All The Time, but she plays a key role in the movie's first act. As an actress, Wasikowska is best known for her title role in 2010's Alice in Wonderland and its sequel, Alice Through The Looking Glass. She is also well-known for her work in Jane Eyre, The Kids Are All Right, Stoker, Lawless, Albert Nobbs, Maps to the Stars, The Double, Only Lovers Left Alive, Crimson Peak, Damsel, Madame Bovery, Tracks, and Piercing. 

Wasikowska was also recently seen in Judy & Punch and Blackbird. Outside of film, the actress also played a reoccurring role in In Treatment. Next, she's set to star in Bergman Island, the newest film from director Mia Hansen-Løve.

Michael Banks Repeta (Young Arvin Russell)

As a young Arvin Russell, the nine-year-old version of our lead protagonist, Michael Banks Repeta is seen prominently throughout the first half of The Devil All The Time. The child actor is still making his way into Hollywood. Notably since this movie is easily his biggest role to date. Outside of his work in this new streaming movie, Repeta was recently seen in episodes of HBO's Lovecraft Country and The Outsider. He also played a role in the series Gone and a recurring role in Manhunt. 

The young actor was in the film Uncle Frank, which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival earlier this year. It's expected to be released on VOD on November 26th. The actor got his start in the 2017 short film, Happy Birthday, Barbara, and he'll next be seen in the short film, Mercy.

MAJOR SPOILERS ahead on the Alicia Vikander movie Earthquake Bird, which premiered November 15 on Netflix.

Alicia Vikander and Riley Keough star in Earthquake Bird, which just premiered on Netflix. The twisty Netflix film, directed by Wash Westmoreland and executive produced by Ridley Scott, is based on the novel by Susanna Jones, and the endings are a bit different in some key ways. For one thing, Teiji doesn't die in the book. Let's get into it.

How The Earthquake Bird Movie Builds Toward Its Ending

Alicia Vikander stars in Earthquake Bird as Lucy Fly, who is Swedish -- like the actress -- in the movie and works as a translator in Japan. (Apparently it was "a lot of work" for Alicia Vikander to learn Japanese, as she said in a behind-the-scenes video.)

The wildly charismatic Naoki Kobayashi plays Teiji, whom Lucy meets when he takes her photograph on the street. They slowly build a unique relationship that is tested by Lucy's jealousy when she sees Teiji's past photos of a previous girlfriend, and especially when Lucy meets and befriends Lily Bridges.

In the movie, Lily (Riley Keough) is a free-spirited American who just moved to Japan for a fresh start. Lily and Teiji become close -- a little too close -- bringing out Lucy's jealous side. Lily tries to apologize to Lucy, but Lucy turns her away -- even though Lily (who has some psychic abilities) says she feels like something bad is going to happen. She's right!

Earthquake Bird's storyline isn't told in a linear fashion, so when we first meet Lucy she is only just returning to work after taking some time off to grieve her relationship with Teiji and friendship with Lily. She's told by a co-worker that a body that's found was suspected to be her friend Lily. Lucy is brought in for questioning and eventually confesses to killing Lily. But she didn't do it. Turns out, the body they found was not Lily after all. We never even learn who that poor person was.

How The Earthquake Bird Movie Ends

After Lucy randomly tells the police her tragic life story anyway -- that she felt responsible for the death of her brother, and had other deaths follow in her life, so she felt responsible for Lily too -- she goes to Teiji's apartment and breaks into his cabinet with all of his photographs. She finds photos of Lily and eventually sees one that shows Lily is dead. Teiji killed her and took the photo.

Lucy takes the folder of photos and brings them to the police station. The detective she knows is not on duty so, for some reason, she doesn't just give the folder to another cop. She leaves and goes home. Lo and behold, Teiji is waiting for her. He says they could run away together. She rejects the idea and tells him it's over. So he gets violent and tries to choke her to death on the couch. She reaches behind her and finds some glass to break over his head. A shard gets stuck in his head and he pulls it out, staring at her as he dies -- similar to how Lucy described her brother staring back at her as he died, after she jumped down on him in her childhood bullying story.

The Final Scene Of The Earthquake Bird Movie

The Earthquake Bird movie gives a final scene where Lucy goes back to see Mrs. Katoh, her friend and fellow musician. Lucy admits Lily came to see her and asked to come in and Lucy didn't let her. Mrs. Katoh says it wasn't Lucy's fault that Lily died. Lucy insists it was. Mrs. Katoh says perhaps Lily saved her life. Lucy says there are other deaths she also feels responsible for, including Mrs. Yamamoto, who had fallen down Mrs. Katoh's own stairs earlier in the movie.

Mrs. Katoh then confesses her own feelings of guilt over Mrs. Yamamoto's death. She tells Lucy she waxed the stairs two days before Mrs. Y fell, something she only does once every two years. She had been worried the steps were slippery. She meant to warn Mrs. Yamamoto earlier that day when they spoke on the phone, but didn't think of it until they hung up. Mrs. Katoh says it was actually her fault, not Lucy's.

In the final shot of the movie, Lucy reaches out her hand and she and Mrs. Katoh both cry, with Lucy seeming to find comfort in the idea that she isn't the only one carrying guilt.

How The Earthquake Bird Book Ends

In the book, Teiji is still the one who killed Lily and we still find out through photographs of dead Lily. However, Lucy does not kill Teiji in the book. Teiji is still alive, and the book ends with Lucy getting chillls, thinking she hears a camera click in the bushes, with Teiji still out there waiting for her.

The book does have a somewhat similar scene toward the end with Lucy and Mrs. Katoh, but it's before details about Teiji's photos come out. Lucy tells Mrs. Katoh she didn't mean to kill Mrs. Yamamoto, it was an accident. She put her cello in a different place and didn't know Mrs. Yamamoto would fall over it. Mrs. Katoh asks what she's talking about, since everyone knew Mrs. Yamamoto was always so clumsy and they all knew she'd have an accident one day. That's as far as that conversation goes.

After that, Lucy -- who is English in the book, like Lily -- is cleared by the police with no charges because the cops can't find any DNA on Lily's body. After details appear about Lucy in the newspapers, the police receive an envelope with two photographs. The first shows Lily at a McDonalds near Lucy's place, with the pic taken on the night of the murder, two hours after Lily was seen at Lucy's front door. The cashier recognized Lily and said she and her male Japanese friend had some kind of argument. The second photograph shows a woman squashed within walls, head lolling to one side. There are no fingerprints on the photos, no way to prove Teiji took them, and the police don't know he did. But Lucy does. The photos don't prove that Teiji killed Lily, but they do prove that Lucy didn't, since she is accounted for elsewhere at that time.

The book ends after a bit of time has passed. Lucy considers a trip to England to see Lily's parents, who might like a visit from someone who knew Lily in Japan. Lucy also visits with Mrs. Katoh and another friend at Mrs. Katoh's home in Japan, and that's where Lucy is at the very end of the book. But the final page has her hearing a noise outside the house and thinking at first it's an earthquake bird -- the humming bird sound after every earthquake. She hears a rustling in the trees and then "the unmistakable sound of a camera clicking." She looks around for Teiji but only sees trees and bushes. Here are the final lines of the book:

So the book ends with the idea that Teiji could still be out there photographing Lucy, unless it's just in her mind. In the book, Lucy sometimes refers to herself in third person and there's a similar sense of events getting confused. Throughout the movie, viewers are led to question Lucy as an unreliable narrator, with scenes that suggest Lucy is imagining things, or just remembering something that happened at a different time.

It's like Joker and Netflix's Fractured, and so many other movies with ambiguous twist endings that like to keep fans' guessing (and also, sometimes, confused).

Who knew that NASCAR could serve as the backdrop for a heist thriller? Apparently Steven Soderbergh, that's who. Although it's very early in its development, Logan Lucky is shaping up to be one of the most intriguing thrillers in recent memory. Not too much is known about the project, but we know that Soderbergh has enlisted the acting talents of Daniel Craig and Channing Tatum as a pair of brothers who stage a daring robbery during a major NASCAR race.

However, it obviously takes more than a talented director and a pair of equally talented lead actors to tell a compelling heist story. According to a new report from THR, Logan Lucky has enlisted some incredibly stellar actors to fill out the supporting roles in the ensemble. Across the board, it's a talented band of actors and actresses, so let's get the ball rolling with the Oscar winner of the bunch...

Hilary Swank

The first performer confirmed to have joined the cast of Logan Lucky is none other than Oscar winner Hilary Swank. Out of all the actors present on the roster for the film, Swank has arguably the most impressive resume, having previously garnered two Oscars for her work on Boys Don't Cry, as well as Million Dollar Baby. We don't know the exact nature of the role she will play in Logan Lucky, but she's historically particular about the parts she picks, and we can likely assume she will bring her trademark intensity to the film.

Michael Shannon

These days, if you need to cast an actor to portray an all-around bad dude, there's no better performer to turn to than Michael Shannon. An incredibly skilled actor with a diverse portfolio of roles, Shannon has made a name for himself in the world of indie films with movies like Midnight Special and 99 Homes, as well as major blockbusters like Pearl Harbor and Man of Steel. Although we don't have many details about his role in Logan Lucky, we can reasonably expect Michael Shannon to once again embody the sort of vile character he's so good at portraying.

Katherine Heigl

Here's where things get a little more interesting. Although she achieved famed fame for her roles in Grey's Anatomy, 27 Dresses and Knocked Up. Katherine Heigl hasn't really appeared in many noteworthy films in recent years. That being said, she's an undeniably talented actress, and her place within the talented ensemble of Logan Lucky could signal the beginning of the Katherine Heigl comeback very soon.

Adam Driver

Unlike Katherine Heigl, whose career has decline somewhat in recent years, Adam Driver has slowly, but surely, become a household name with a strong resume of roles. First gaining notoriety in the hit HBO series Girls, Driver has made a swift transition to the silver screen with roles in Inside Llewyn Davis, and While We're Young. However, the former soldier's biggest break came last year with his career-making role as Kylo Ren in The Force Awakens.

Seth MacFarlane

Although he has become a household name over the course of the last two decades with his work in the field of animation, Seth MacFarlane doesn't have too many live-action credits to his name. His most recent effort -- 1,000 Ways To Die In The West -- fell fairly flat at the box office, but it's clear that he has more talent as an actor than he ever gets credit for. If his role in Logan Lucky is received well by critics and audiences, this could mark the beginning of a brand new Seth MacFarlane on the silver screen.

The final confirmed member of Logan Lucky's cast, Riley Keough has made a very good impression on critics and audiences in a very short amount of time. She has appeared in numerous films, ranging from The Runaways, to Mad Max: Fury Road, and, most recently, The Girlfriend Experience. Logan Lucky will mark her reunion with director Steven Soderbergh following their work on 2012's Magic Mike, so the iconic director clearly sees something in this young talent.

There was certainly no shortage of noteworthy bells and whistles looking to grab your attention in Mad Max: Fury Road. However, amidst the explosive mega-battles and guys with flamethrower guitars, the film also focused on the group of rescued women who were unwillingly betrothed to the film’s creepy post-apocalyptic overlord, Immortan Joe. It seems that the bond shared by their characters was mirrored in a real life friendship, as the group actually chose to venerate the experience with a special tattoo.

In an interview with Vanity Fair, one of the five Fury Road sister wives, Courtney Eaton, discusses the notoriously difficult desert shoot for the film, which ended up creating the aforementioned bond. Eaton plays "Fragile," a name, which, contrary to A Christmas Story, isn’t Italian. Fury Road would serve as the film debut for the 19 year-old Aussie starlet, and she reveals that the experience has already created an indelible bond with her fellow faux sister wives. According to Eaton:

Eaton was joined in this bizarre "Sisterhood of the Traveling Chastity Belts" by Rosie Huntington-Whitely as "Splendid," Zoë Kravitz as "Toast," Riley Keough as "Capable" and Abbey Lee as "The Dag." As Eaton would reveal, as far as film debuts went, Mad Max: Fury Road was definitely a trial by fire. She describes the African shoot as six long months, with five in Namibia and one in Capetown. While the challenging elements certainly played a role in creating this tattoo-inspiring bond among the five, it may have also been attributed to the nature of their characters, who were young women plucked from their youth and objectified essentially as livestock for breeding with the film’s villainous water-hoarding desert dictator.

In fact, director George Miller brought a rather curious consultant onto the set in Eve Ensler, the playwright behind The Vagina Monologues. She was tasked with coaching the quintet to help channel emotions in their performance related to the effects of sexual abuse. Having worked with rape victims in the Congo, Ensler reportedly shed a brutally real context onto the characters, which, according to Rosie Huntington-Whitely, helped shape critical background for each of the sister wife characters.

While such preparation may have been an oddly deep pathological reach for roles in an action-centric film such as Mad Max: Fury Road, it ultimately added a necessary nuance to the liberated captives. Through stories, the group could more accurately reflect the demeanor of the victimized young women they were portraying; each literally objectified in the most repugnant way. Thus, the experience may have added an additionally poignant layer to their tattoo-sharing bond.

At the moment, Mad Max: Fury Road is dealing with a kind of paradox; one where it finds itself one of the generally best-reviewed new films on the market, but falling short of #1 in its debut weekend at $44 million to Pitch Perfect 2’s $70 million. That being said, we’ve seen the surprising power that simple word-of-mouth buzz can create, which could possibly give Fury Road a chance to hold its own against this weekend’s newcomers in the Disney theme-park-themed Tomorrowland and the Poltergeist remake.

Riley Keough looks pretty much like any other up-and-coming starlet-- blonde, blue-eyed, thousand-yard stare-- but she's got a serious pedigree on her side: she's the daughter of Lisa-Marie Presley, and therefore the granddaughter of Elvis. That seems be the only thing interesting about her so far, though that might all change now that she's set to appear in Mad Max: Fury Road. Because if you don't become more interesting by showing up in a Mad Max movie, you're really doing something wrong.

According to THR Keough will play one of the "Five Wives" who need protection from Mad Max, who will be played by Inception dreamboat Tom Hardy this time around. Zoe Kravitz, Teresa Palmer and Adelaide Clemens will play three of the other wives, which means there's one more hot young thing yet to come. Charlize Theron and Nicholas Hoult are two of the other biggish names in the cast, who will all supposedly start filming early next year.

You're free to be skeptical about that start date, since talk about Fury Road has been happening since 2005, and production has been repeatedly delayed. With nearly a full cast in place, though, we should assume things will start rolling relatively soon-- now with the King's legacy on board to bolster things a bit.
