While movie-goers might see Robert Pattinson’s character in The Odyssey as a villain, he would beg to differ. In the 2026 movie release, Antinous is one of the suitors with his eyes on the throne, left empty by absent war hero Odysseus (Matt Damon), and Penelope, Odysseus' wife. As Penelope (Anne Hathaway) waits for the return of her husband, Antinous is hoping for his moment to rise above the other suitors. But since taking over as the king of Ithaca would mean eliminating Odysseus and Penelope’s son, Telemachus (Tom Holland), it’s not surprising that she wouldn’t be thrilled with the prospect.

Part of what makes Robert Pattinson so delightful is that every time he has a new project to promote, you never really know what he’s going to say, but it will likely be memorable. During the press tour for The Odyssey, Anne Hathaway called out his take on the villainous role but then agreed that he does actually make a good point. Talking to IGN, the British actor explained his defense of Antinous and why he sees him as a legitimate option for Penelope. You can hear him sell his point of view in the clip:

No character is a villain to the actor portraying them, but listening to Robert Pattinson talk about Antinous feels like he’s recast his character in a comedy. In the interview, the Twilight actor calls out Penelope’s mixed signals and, in his defense, points out that she never asks him to leave at any point in the movie’s three-hour runtime.

However, he’s also previously and quite accurately called the character “the worst stepfather you could possibly have.” And that is easily understood when you consider how shallow Antinous is and the fact that he wants to kill Telemachus.

The Odyssey has been acclaimed by critics for its epic storytelling, which is well-deserved, but I can’t stop laughing at the way The Batman star has been talking about his despicable character. It’s a bit weird to think of Antinous as a good option for Penelope, but if anyone is going to champion the villain, it should be the actor playing him. Pattinson said:

Ultimately, Damon’s character doesn’t die in the film, but his absence allows for plenty of time to watch Robert Pattinson enjoy being the bad guy. Antinous is the kind of villain that you love to hate because he knows the pain he’s causing but doesn’t care who gets hurt along the way.

But if you follow the actor’s take on the role, he’s the hero of his own story, just trying to win the girl. I know that I, for one, hope that Pattinson continues to take on villainous characters in his career, and that he continues to share his hilarious takes on them with us.

Actor Tom Cruise has the reputation of advocating for a certain class of movies where what we see on screen is done for real. So of course he’s been supporting The Odyssey. The actor dropped by NYC’s Lincoln Square on opening weekend to see it himself, and had big praise for Chris Nolan, the cast and crew. But he also had thoughts on the Dune: Part Three sneak peek playing before IMAX screenings, as well.

Tom Cruise rented out a private showing of The Odyssey for himself and his team. He also apparently ended up inviting some of the employees of the AMC to join him. After an employee shared the “magical” experience, one fan had to ask them if Cruise had thoughts on the Dune: Part Three sneak peek. Here’s what reportedly happened:

In the front of IMAX screenings of The Odyssey, movie fans are treated to the prologue to Dune: Part Three, and Tom Cruise was no exception. Cruise was geeking out over the sequence that involves the Fremen getting caught in a visceral battle after feeling the rain for the first time. And apparently he even called one of the movie’s producers to congratulate them on a job well done. How cool.

Tom Cruise has certainly been vocal about his love of the Dune franchise before. He sent Chalamet “the most wonderfully inspiring email” that even included a Rolodex of experts he might need for additional stunt training. Per Chalamet’s recounting of the email to GQ, Cruise let him know that “nobody” would hold him to the Old Hollywood standard. And it was up to him to do so.

Dune: Part Three is set to round out Denis Villeneuve’s trilogy based on Frank Herbert’s books. It will follow a super unsettling Paul Atreides 17 years after the previous film. After Paul betrayed Zendaya’s Chani in Part Two and rose as the Lisan al-Gaib, it looks like the two become enemies. All the while, Robert Pattinson’s Scytale executes a plot to dethrone Paul.

It’s not only one of the most exciting upcoming book-to-screen adaptations, it could be the biggest box office weekend of the year. The movie shares a release date with Avengers: Doomsday in a movie event already calling itself Dunesday. We definitely expect Tom Cruise to be first in line after these alleged comments about Part Three.

The Odyssey has been one of my most anticipated 2026 movies. That being said, I rolled my eyes at the runtime of two hours and 52 minutes after I got my ticket. Christopher Nolan’s latest film isn’t his longest movie – that would be Best Picture winner Oppenheimer – but objectively, that’s too long to sit in a movie theater. That is, unless the movie earns it. Well, did The Odyssey? I have thoughts.

Is The Odyssey’s Long Runtime A Problem?

Don’t get me wrong, some of the best movies I’ve ever seen are around three hours. But, right before I go out and see one, I get kind of stressed out. I usually like to get concessions for a movie like The Odyssey. Ugh, but when the moment comes when I have to use the restroom, it’s a tough call. I then have to make the decision to sit there in pain or try to figure out the right time when I can step away.

I’ll never forget when I went to see Dune: Part One. I ended up leaving to use the facilities when a certain character dies. It kind of messed up my first viewing. And then on the other hand, buying a premium movie ticket for something that ends up being both bad and long just sucks. Or, what if I end up sitting close to someone smelly or with a severe phone addiction?

There’s an easy fix for this. I think long movies need to have intermissions like they used to in the old days. Since that doesn’t seem to be on the table, I wince at long movie runtimes. In the case of The Odyssey, I’m very happy to report that I took no issue with it. Personally, I didn’t look at my watch until two hours into it, and the last hour was awesome. (Sure, it also helps that in-movie bathroom decision gods smiled on me that evening).

Personally, I wouldn’t have cut a single scene. If anything, I would have even sat through more! I’m thinking about going to see it again, and let me tell you, that’s very much a rarity for me to say these days. Critics have also been kind to The Odyssey, with the movie currently holding a 97 percent on Rotten Tomatoes.

What My CinemaBlend Colleagues Thought About The Runtime

As I mentioned before, a three-hour movie only works for me if it earns it. And, there was definitely enough within the pages of Homer’s The Odyssey for Nolan to adapt. Plus, he had to make tweaks to the source material to fit into one movie as is. I was curious about what my co-workers thought about the runtime. Here’s what a few of them said:

• “I love long movies when they are well constructed like The Odyssey. Because of the nature of the source material, the movie flows really well from scene to scene, and I don't think it drags at all.” - Hugh Scott, Syndication Editor
• “The Odyssey kept my attention for the entire 3 hours with its fast-paced storytelling and stunning visuals. If I had my way, it would have been 5 or 6 hours and split into two movies in order to more fully develop the side characters.” - Mack Rawden, Editor-In-Chief

Of course, there’s a range of opinions here regarding the specifics, but overall I think we have a consensus: The Odyssey’s runtime works! If you, too, found yourself unsure about venturing to see it because of its length, I hope this helps reassure you it’s worth it. I know I would have appreciated knowing this before heading into it.

Christopher Nolan’s next film, The Odyssey, is still a few days away from hitting the 2026 movie schedule, but for months it's been in the firing line for angry people on the internet. I know it’s best to stay out of the comment section, but sometimes I can’t help myself. It doesn’t take long when I do dip my toes in to see some of the major complaints that people have even before seeing the movie. I have to say, none of these are concerns of mine. I remain highly optimistic about this epic that is about to unfold for all of us seeing the movie next week.

The Casting Seems To Be The Focus Of Many Commenters’ Ire

There is no question that Nolan has assembled one heck of a cast. Matt Damon leads the movie as Odysseus. Anne Hathaway is playing his wife, Penelope. Tom Holland is playing Telemachus, his son. Joining them, we’ve got stars like Zendaya, Robert Pattinson, Charlize Theron, Samantha Morton (who has apparently killed it with her performance), and Jon Bernthal, along with many others. It’s stacked. There are two or three cast members who have some people upset, and it makes no sense.

Lupita Nyong'o (Helen of Troy), John Leguizamo (Eumaeus), and Elliot Page (Sinon) have drawn the most wrath, and Travis Scott (playing a bard) has also taken some shots. Of course, it’s easy to see why these four have been in the firing line, and frankly, I think it’s all silly (and offensive, of course). The Odyssey is a myth. It’s not history. Historical accuracy should take a backseat to storytelling in this case. Helen of Troy wasn’t a real person, so why does it matter if the actress playing the character doesn’t look Greek or Spartan? Nyong'o certainly fits the description of being beautiful, and she is one of the most talented actresses in the world. That’s by far enough for me.

The Accents, Armor, And Ships Are Also Popular Complaints

The second most common whine is that the armor Odysseus and his men wear is not period-accurate. I’m all for historical accuracy in film; in fact, it’s often a deciding factor in whether I like a movie or not (I’m looking at you, Napoleon), but again, this is a myth. I don’t care that Damon and his cohorts are dressed in armor that doesn’t fit the age. That’s not the point of the story here. Let’s be honest, period-accurate armor looks rather ridiculous, and so making it look “cooler” is just fine by me. The same goes for the ships used by our hero and his men. Yeah, they look more like Viking ships than boats from ancient Greece, but again, this story is a myth, so why care?

Another popular refrain seems to be that all of the actors are using American accents in the movie, even the Brits. I have to say, again, why is this something people are mad about? They aren’t speaking ancient Greek in this modern telling of the myth, either. No one is upset about that, because everyone understands why the movie is in English, so what does it matter which accents are being used? Nolan apparently was looking for consistency, and so this decision makes total sense. This is seriously just complaining to complain.

Luckily for me, none of these creative decisions bother me in the slightest, and I can say that this is by far my most anticipated movie of the summer.

Director Christopher Nolan's movies are known for their massive scale and epic stories, and moviegoers will soon be treated to his take on Homer's The Odyssey. The book-to-screen adaptation features an all-star cast led by Matt Damon, who got ripped to play Odysseus on the big screen. And a video recently dropped of co-star Robert Pattinson absolutely gushing about The Martian actor's abs.

What we know about The Odyssey has been limited, but those who read Homer's Greek epic have an idea about what plot points are coming. The Odyssey's trailer showed how badass Damon looks, but in an interview with ET, Pattinson spoke about how fit he looked IRL. You can check out the clip below:

Talk about a glowing response. Clearly, Matt Damon's physical transformation was significant enough that his co-stars were shocked by just how ripped he got to play the protagonist of The Odyssey. Pattinson got jacked for The Batman, but even he was shocked by how defined the 55-year-old actor's abs were on the movie's set. One can only imagine how hulking and strong he'll look on the big screen when Nolan's movie hits theaters later this month.

While it's fun to see just how worked up Robert Pattinson got about Matt Damon's abs, reading his comments is similarly delightful. He spoke about his co-star's insane abdominal muscles, offering:

Talk about impressive. It's one thing for abs to show when one is shirtless or wearing something tight, but Robert Pattinson was flabbergasted by how Matt Damon's muscles were visible even when he was wearing a loose T-shirt. And I can't wait to see how the actor's hulking physique translates and elevates the action sequences in The Odyssey in particular.

We've previously heard reports about how much work Matt Damon put into his physical transformation, reducing his weight to 167 pounds of lean muscle. This took an intense gym and diet regimen, including cutting out gluten completely. It sounds like those efforts paid off, and luckily fans will be able to judge for themselves when The Odyssey hits theaters later this month. There is a ton of hype surrounding the blockbuster right now, thanks to its insane ensemble cast and Christopher Nolan's reputation as a filmmaker. Luckily, the wait is nearly over for it to finally arrive on the big screen.

The Odyssey will be released on July 17th as part of the 2026 movie release list. Aside from Matt Damon's abs, the movie will also feature the talents of Zendaya, Tom Holland, Anne Hathaway, Lupita Nyong'o, and more.

The 2026 movie schedule has already had some bangers, but man, I think I just found my official most-anticipated of the bunch for the second half of the year now that we have a fresh trailer for Dune: Part Three We just got the most epic look at Denis Villeneuve's trilogy finale yet, and it has me thinking about what dark arc is on the horizon for Timothée Chalamet’s Paul Atreides. Thankfully, the actor himself shed some light on what’s coming.

CinemaBlend attended Dune: Part 3’s global fan event at the AMC Burbank in Los Angeles, CA on Wednesday morning. We were among the first to see the movie’s new trailer along with witnessing an exclusive conversation between Villeneuve and Timothée Chalamet. Check out the trailer here:

Y’all, the chills I had seeing this in IMAX with an audience! I’m not going to be OK after this movie… and I cannot wait. The new footage really focuses on the fallout of Dune: Part 2, where Paul broke the heart of Zendaya’s Chani by deciding to marry Florence Pugh’s Princess Irulan. He did so to take the throne as the Padishah Emperor – officially choosing power and war over anything else.

It certainly seems like Paul is going to the dark side here, so I’m happy that the event’s moderator Brittany Broski asked Chalamet if Paul is stepping into his “villain” era now. Here’s how the Oscar-nominated actor responded:

The writing was on the wall in Dune: Part Two that Paul maybe wasn’t going to be the hero of this story anymore, and in Part Three the ramifications of this will all come to a head. The trailer also sets up what’s going on with Robert Pattinson’s role of Scytale, who decides to execute a plot to dethrone Paul and involve the Princess.

I also think the trailer insinuates that Chani may actually be the one to go head-to-head with the Emperor by the end of the movie after things have gone bitter between them. Chalamet also said this about what’s going on with Paul and Chani during the event:

Part Three's main plotline takes place a couple decades after the second movie, and also features Anya Taylor-Joy as Paul’s sister, Alia. The franchise newcomer has called the role “very intense” and I can see why. While the first Dune: Part Three trailer got me excited, this second one has me moving the movie to the top of my list of 2026 movies I’m hyped for. A big part of that is Paul's nuanced arc across the trilogy being concluded. I mean, and this new poster? Check it:

During the event, we were also treated to an exclusive look at the opening of Dune: Part 3, which will be playing in front of IMAX screenings of The Odyssey next weekend. It had Javier Bardem’s Stilgar and some other men being thrust into an intense battle sequence in the rain. I’d imagine he’s operating under the orders of Paul after embracing him as the messianic Lisan al-Gaib at the end of Dune: Part 2. It doesn't show the whole battle sequence, so now I'm left wanting to watch the whole thing.

We'll have to wait for the final Dune film until December 18!

The Twilight fan in me that was fangirling over Robert Pattinson back in the day is absolutely living for the genuine movie star the actor has become lately. I mean, he’s in some of the most buzzy 2026 movie releases, including The Odyssey. But I wouldn’t blame the guy for wanting to talk about literally anything but Twilight after the many years he spent making and promoting those films. However, R. Patz totally brought up Jacob Black unprovoked at The Odyssey premiere, and I'm shook!

Here’s what happened. While Pattinson was at The Odyssey premiere in London on Monday, he was asked by MTV about playing a character audiences won’t be rooting for. Here’s how he responded:

Guys, Twilight was mentioned! Twilight was mentioned! This truly makes me feel like a proud fan. Robert Pattinson has had a bad rep for shading on these movies for years now, but look at him full-on comparing one of the biggest movies he’s ever been in to the vampire romance phenomenon. It really shows that he is in a different place these days with the cult film series, and doesn’t mind bringing them up anymore. Finally, and thank you!

Now, in The Odyssey, Robert Pattinson plays the role of Antinous. While Odysseus is trying to get home from the Trojan War to reunite with his wife Penelope and son Telemachus (played by Anne Hathaway and Tom Holland, respectively), Antinous tries to tempt Penelope to forget her husband and move on with him. Pattinson has called the character “the worst stepfather you could possibly have” while recalling shooting scenes with Holland on set. So, I can totally see what he's getting at by name-dropping the Twilight movies with his point here.

While the interviewer thought Antinous might be a character no one would be rooting for, Pattinson thinks that the character will actually have his own fans as Penelope wrestles with waiting for her husband or answering this new suitor's calls. It's very much giving New Moon.

Along with Pattinson's glorious Twilight comment, the premiere of Christopher Nolan's latest film meant that the first reactions for The Odyssey have come out, and there’s a lot of positive word-of-mouth about it already. So far, critics have called it things like a “filmmaking feast,” a “sprawling yet intimate story” and “an absolute triumph”. And, yes, Robert Pattinson’s performance in it is absolutely being singled out by many viewers, too.

We’ve been waiting for this one, guys. We’re now less than two weeks away from Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey hitting the 2026 movie calendar — the director’s first project since Oppenheimer — and he literally couldn’t have chosen a more epic tale. First reactions are here for the fantasy flick, which comes with a staggering runtime and massive budget. But by these critics’ accounts, Nolan fans should start getting excited.

So what are people saying after catching early screenings of The Odyssey? Critic Perri Nemiroff says Christopher Nolan expertly weaves the story together to make you feel like you’ve experienced a significant portion of the characters’ lives. Her X (Twitter) post continues:

David Ehrlich of IndieWire notes that The Odyssey is “less despairing” than the Academy Award Best Picture winner from 2023, and despite some druthers, it’s a ride worth going on. In Ehrlich’s words:

Matt Neglia of Next Best Picture wrote an epic reaction of his own on X, praising Matt Damon, Anne Hathaway and Tom Holland’s performances. He also writes that this level of storytelling is rare and deserves to be honored. The post reads, in part:

While I usually hate feeling as if time is going by too quickly, I can take comfort in knowing it’s all leading to the upcoming DC movie The Batman: Part II, so no time has technically been wasted. (I live in denial a bunch.) Production on the 2027 theatrical release kicked off in June, but many cast and character questions remain unanswered. Is Sebastian Stan really playing Harvey Dent and Two-Face? Is Scarlett Johansson a key piece of the Long Halloween adaptation game? Will we see The Joker?

Unsurprisingly, director Matt Reeves kept mum about new and established roles when confirming the film’s actors, and it was a noteworthy exclusion when Barry Keoghan’s name wasn’t listed in the lineup. Though not a “star” of the first film, the Irish actor made a quick and lasting impact from his minimal time on-screen as “Unseen Arkham Prisoner,” and talks about his return were among the first rumors sparked by the impending sequel. So what’s the deal?

A Warner Bros. Event May Have Spilled The Joker Beans

WB execs were on hand in France around July 4 weekend for Studio Show 2026 to promote the studio's slate of upcoming movies, from Tom Cruise's Digger to Dune: Part 3 to animated projects like Hello Kitty and Margie Claus. Obviously, the topic of DC-sourced adaptations came up, such as Man of Tomorrow and Dynamic Duo, and Clayface. But this detail reported by BoxOfficePro is definitely worth bringing up, since Keoghan is one of the key names mentioned in the French report. Here's a translated iteration:

No mention of James Gordon actor Jeffrey Wright or Penguin portrayer Colin Farrell, but Keoghan is just right there in front, ahead of Alfred's actor Andy Serkis. I of course get throwing ScarJo and Stan in there for extra hype, and maybe it's a case where Keoghan has a huge following in France, and so the outlet wanted to play into that, without this being directly related to billing order.

The Saltburn actor himself has been cagey when addressing a potential return as The Joker, which has only helped to make the return seem more likely. But given just the elements that we know about thus far, it's not entirely clear how The Joker would factor into what will assumedly be Two-Face's origin tale. (It's not like Reeves is going to ape Christopher Nolan's Dark Knight, amirite?) So I can't imagine it'll be a very prominent part, and will possibly just lay additional groundwork for a grander takeover in a third Batman movie. Or not.

Whatever fans might hope to see, note that the actor is as busy as busy can be, in large part because he's portraying musical icon Ringo Starr for Sam Mendes' The Beatles – A Four-Film Cinematic Event, which reportedly started filming in March. It'll likely take well over a year for the movie quartet to be filmed, though it's obviously possible that Keoghan worked out scheduling details with Reeves and Mendes that would allow him to film Joker scenes without imminent Ringo sequences to appear in.

For now, the actor’s fans can see him in action in two 2026 movie releases to date: Crime 101 opposite Chris Hemsworth (currently streaming via Amazon Prime subscription) and Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man (currently streaming via Netflix subscription).

Christopher Nolan assembled an all-star cast for The Odyssey and, as part of that, the filmmaker reunites with Tenet's Robert Pattinson. In turn, not only will Pattinson be reunited with his The Drama co-star, Zendaya, but he will also collaborate with frequent co-star Tom Holland. The two British actors seem to be very comfortable with each other at this point. At least, that's the feeling I get as I crack up about how Pattinson trolled Holland during the filming of their upcoming book-to-screen adaptation.

In The Odyssey, Robert Pattinson plays the role of Antinous, who has an antagonistic dynamic with Tom Holland’s Telemachus. Said animosity stems from Antinous conspiring to marry Telemachus' mother, Penelope (Anne Hathaway), amid the absence of his father, Odysseus (Matt Damon). As Pattinson explained to Empire, he had a lot of fun playing up his character's nastiness, and I wish I could've been a fly on the wall:

I can’t stop laughing at the idea of the Twilight star trailing behind the MCU actor and talking about wanting to be his “daddy!” That’s truly hysterical (and maybe a tad weird). However, if it helped the two build their dynamic accordingly, I'd say it's worth it.

Robert Pattinson and Tom Holland’s playful banter probably shouldn’t come as too much of a surprise. After all, the co-stars worked together on The Lost City of Z as well as the terrifying Netflix movie, The Devil All the Time. With three joint ventures under the stars' belts, I'm loving that the pair get along so well.

Despite the playful teasing Pattinson did on the set of The Odyssey, Holland seemed to enjoy his time working with him on set. Holland also spoke to Empire, and shared some glowing thoughts about Pattinson:

There’s no doubt that Robert Pattinson knows how to take big risks getting into character. For his part, Tom Holland got to see him in action with his wild accent in The Devil All the Time and see how he dropped 35 pounds for The Lost City of Z. It goes without saying that Pattinson firmly commits to his roles, and I'm very eager to see the kind of villainous energy he brings to his character in Christopher Nolan's latest historical drama.

On that note, when I see the film, I'll be paying close attention to the tense scenes between Telemachus and Antinous. While those moments are sure to be tense, I may actually start chuckling to myself due to the knowledge that Pattinson was having fun with his character's sliminess on set.

From Twihards to Trekkies, fandoms have been vocal about what they love and what they hate. So it’s not surprising to see them openly spill the tea on what actors they feel actually hate their own fandoms. Some of the celebrities named are more surprising than others, with fans dropping everyone from Sherlock’s Martin Freeman to Robert Pattinson. But do these actors really dislike their own fandoms?

Some of the actors mentioned have been vocal in the past about certain things they don’t love about their fandoms, such as William Shatner, who has allegedly made comments about Star Trek in the past. Though this hasn’t stopped fans from calling for him to run the franchise. Some feel these actors make valid points. However, others feel there’s no excuse for the hate they get from celebrities. Several on a popular Reddit thread have been blunt with their opinions, with posts reading:

• Princescyther: Martin Freeman. Specifically, Sherlock fans lol. He seems like a grumpy old bugger, too, so it makes sense.
• whimsy_moth: Joseph Quinn. In the early days after his career took a turn after Stranger Things, he was deluged with parasocial fans.
• ButIfYouThink: William Shatner - He has, on multiple occasions and for decades, derided Trekkies. He doesn't like doing the convention circuit, and fought against the image that he is just known for Captain Kirk for many, many years.

Some of these fans are defending the actors’ reasons for not liking their fandoms, claiming it’s the constant limelight that they hate, not necessarily the people themselves. Dramatic_Movies says, “A lot of celebrities seem overwhelmed more than anything. Constant attention, constant expectations.” This is an understandable argument, as we have seen many, particularly young actors, crushed by the pressure of stardom.

BualadhBoss brings up Martin Freeman, who they claim blames nearly losing his role as Bilbo in The Hobbit on Sherlock fans. Reportedly, Peter Jackson wanted him badly enough that he was willing to work around the actor’s filming schedule.

Others don’t seem bothered when actors are gruff towards fans. In fact, some seem amused by it, such as RickySuezo, who says, “Harrison Ford hates everybody.” Many point out Ford’s viral Star Wars comments, where he often seems tired of the franchise. Another, Decent-Dragonfly6460, came to the defense of Ford, saying it’s his sour demeanor that everybody loves:

Then there are more serious allegations. For in stance, user Kneecap_Blaster claims Bill Nye made a 6th grade girl cry. They allegedly went with their sister’s class to hear him speak, and that, “Bill phoned it in in front of thousands of kids who idolized him, and made a child cry that day, he's a POS in my book.” The science guy hasn’t been in much since cutting ties with Disney, but he has made minor appearances, such as in an episode of High Potential.

Others are arguing that it’s just certain fandoms' celebrities don’t like, and not all of them. One example given is Robert Pattinson, who mixi_e says, “For me, [he] just didn’t like the Twilight side of his fandom, even when he was promoting the movies, you could see how much he disliked them.” The actor has been open about his feelings toward Twilight, but he’s also happily promoted other projects, such as dishing upcoming The Batman Part II night shoots he has. He has also recently revealed what he asked Christopher Nolan about The Odyssey.

For fans of these actors, many of them can be seen in upcoming 2026 movie releases, such as The Odyssey, set for this summer. We'll have to see how many more names get added to this reddit thread.

It remains to be seen whether Christopher Nolan’s book-to-screen adaptation of The Odyssey proves to be yet another cinematic masterpiece from the acclaimed director. At the very least, though, what is clear now is that the film is a further testament to Nolan’s ability to land top-tier talent. Matt Damon, Anne Hathaway, Tom Holland, Lupita Nyong'o and Charlize Theron are just a few of the A-listers Nolan pulled. Also a part of that ensemble is Robert Pattinson and, before signing on, he was the only star to ask a very obvious question.

Considering Nolan’s body of work, it’s not hard to understand why he’d be able to attract such a high class of actors. Pattinson has now had the pleasure of working with Nolan on two occasions now, as he previously collaborated with him on Tenet. Pattinson has since spoken highly of his experience making that 2020 sci-fi thriller. So, when the Batman star was approached by Nolan for Odyssey, he was enthusiastic. Yet, as Pattinson explained to GQ, he threw Nolan for a loop with one particular comment:

Pattinson apparently being the only member of The Odyssey’s ensemble to ask Nolan about the script makes me chuckle, and that request is significant due to how extensive that cast is. As much as this funny little behind-the-scenes factoid is to me, this also makes sense when it comes to Pattinson. Over the last decade, the British performer has taken on some interesting films, like Good Time, The Lighthouse, The Boy and the Heron and Mickey 17.

Based on the acclaim Robert Pattinson received for some of his more recent roles, it seems he’s been good at picking projects. So I certainly won’t critique his thoughtfulness upon being approached to be in Christopher Nolan’s latest movie. As for his role in the historical action drama, Pattinson plays the slimy Antinous, who attempts to court Penelope (Hathaway) while she awaits the return of her husband, Odysseus (Damon), following the Trojan War. Pattinson’s involvement not only marks a new collaboration but also a reunion with Zendaya, with whom he worked on The Drama and the Dune: Part Three.

Speaking of Zendaya and other stars who appear in The Odyssey, I can completely understand their willingness to sign on so quickly. The film marks Nolan’s follow-up to his Oscar-winning historical drama, Oppenheimer, and it’s based on one of the most engrossing epic poems ever written. From a technical standpoint, Nolan is also pushing boundaries on the IMAX front, as his latest feature has been shot entirely on the format.

So, to sum this up, we have a talented filmmaker, an epic story as the basis and a technologically ambitious set-up. Keeping all of that in mind, I can’t imagine many actors not leaping at the chance to join such a project without checking out the screenplay first. Pattinson’s mention of the script during his early chat with Nolan, though, just further solidifies him as one of those stars who’s cerebral when it comes to the jobs he takes on.

I look forward to seeing what Robert Pattinson brings to The Odyssey, which opens in theaters on July 17 as part of the 2026 movie schedule. For now, check out some excellent Pattinson films that prove he’s far more than a certain sparkly vampire he played so many years ago.

It’s been a long wait, but Bat-fans can finally take comfort in knowing that The Batman: Part II will finally start filming in the UK this month. Because of that, it’ll only be a matter of time before leading man Robert Pattinson dons that cape and cowl again. Obviously, the witty actor can’t share any specific details about the story Matt Reeves is cooking up for this upcoming superhero movie. However, Pattinson did just share insight into how many night shoots he has in the immediate future, and the thought of it makes me sleepy.

Obviously, the vast majority of the live-action Batman movies predominantly take place at night, considering that’s when the eponymous character mostly operates. What some fans may not think about, though, is that it means the cast and crew have to endure long evenings of filming in the dark. Pattinson himself alluded to that as part of an interview with GQ, when he mentioned hearing from one of the superhero film’s stunt performers. Apparently, Pattinson hadn’t even received a schedule when he learned a big piece of info:

So I’m someone who understands how film shoots work and, as such, I completely understand the need for night shoots, especially with a franchise like The Batman. However, the notion of working 11 weeks worth of nights just sounds exhausting. What I find humorously ironic about Pattinson’s response to that information, though, is that he doesn’t even lament the sheer number of late hours he’ll be working. For the Good Time star, he’s more curious as to how someone else knows what’s going down and he doesn’t.

The need to film at night is only one part of Robert Pattinson’s responsibilities for Part II, of course. As with the first film, Pattinson must train and build up muscle to fill out that costume, and it sounds like he’s already working on his regimen. The A-lister has a home gym he’s been utilizing ahead of the shoot, and it seems he’s aiming to put in the work. During his chat with GQ, Pattinson recalled being criticized for supposedly not getting big enough while preparing for the first movie:

Still, the Drama actor can admit that he contributed to the less-than-positive responses by deeming exercise lame, as he said he was just “trying to sound cool” at the time. Although Pattinson will have to endure workouts and night shoots in the weeks to come, he does seem very excited about the film. He previously teased that Reeves and co. would be taking some “big swings” and, as a fan, I’m truly pumped about what this film might offer.

I’m just hoping that Robert Pattinson has plenty of Bat-Coffee on hand for those various night sessions. The road through production is sure to be long, but I’m optimistic that the finished film will have been well worth all of those hours of shooting late. The Drama is one of those movies that’s instantly polarizing. Its topic and style will produce mixed reactions. I knew this going into the film, because I saw a TMZ article that spoiled the main topic before the movie even hit theaters. This instantly made me hesitant to watch The Drama.

Then I saw some of the critics’ reactions. This made me even more cautious about watching The Drama. It’s a serious subject matter that I don’t think should ever be played for laughs. When I actually watched the movie, the conversations around it became a lot more nuanced than expected.

Warning: The Drama spoilers are ahead. Proceed with caution. Trigger warning about topics of gun violence and murder.

The Drama Was More About Factors That Lead To School Shootings Than The Act Of Them

TMZ’s article talked about a parent being upset about The Drama covering the topic of a school shooting. I was immediately disgusted by the idea. In the film, Emma (Zendaya) reveals to her fiancé and friends that the worst thing she ever did was plan a school shooting. She didn’t execute it, but came close. A24 marketed the movie as a romantic comedy. Therefore, I automatically expected the film to try to make light of the situation and focus on the love story between Emma and Charlie (Robert Pattinson).

Because of Zendaya and Pattinson, The Drama was one of the upcoming A24 movies that I looked forward to seeing the most. Learning about the twist made me lose some interest. However, I still planned to watch it in theaters or when it became available to stream. Once I watched the movie, I found myself less outraged and more understanding of what writer and director Kristoffer Borgli tries to convey with The Drama.

Emma tells Charlie about how she became fascinated by the idea of a mass murder and guns. Then she tells him why she didn’t go through with it, and then she became radicalized in the opposite direction. She became an advocate against guns and violence. Young Emma (Jordyn Curet) is portrayed as highly impressionable.

She doesn’t know how to deal with her emotions, so she glamorizes something dark and disturbing. However, through these school-mandated programs, she starts to see the humanity behind the people she almost killed. One of The Drama’s most powerful scenes is just Emma looking at one of her potential victims. She cries because she seemingly finally grasps the severity of the situation

Not everyone who does a mass shooting is just a lost child. I think that’s why some people have problems with the movie. It humanizes and reduces something so devastating to a simple concept. A lot of these people who end up committing these acts have mental health issues, or lack empathy, or suffer from other behavioral problems. However, Emma isn’t the poster child for all mass shooters. She represents a group of them who are impressionable children who find comfort in the wrong things. She is not the archetype for school shooters.

I Found Myself Sympathizing With Emma More Than Expected

The Drama kind of portrays Emma as someone who just grew out of this phase because of finding friends, a cause, and these programs. That’s not necessarily the best way to treat this situation, but Emma represents a certain type of child. The film is critical of modern times. We live in an age where there is so much information to absorb and consume. Therefore, children can, unfortunately, be influenced by what and how much information they watch or read a day. They can be radicalized in the wrong ways by group chats, social media, television, music, etc.

Many children who are bullied don’t automatically decide to kill people. Nonetheless, there are children who find themselves easily influenced by things around them, especially if they spend too much time by themselves searching the internet. Many parents are too busy and drained to regulate everything their child consumes, especially during key development stages. Emma should be judged and persecuted (in a way) for her almost actions.

However, we must remember that she’s a young child who was influenced because she had easy access to too many things and not enough restrictions, guidance, and the development of social norms. Emma isn’t portrayed like every teen, but some may relate to her feeling of isolation and the desire to hurt others, but never acting on those desires. This is a scary reality that we unfortunately face in today’s society.

I Felt Conflicted About Charlie’s Behavior

The Drama has a very harsh twist that makes the movie work. Charlie is put in a nearly impossible situation. He learns that his future wife almost committed a heinous crime. No one would know how to handle the situation. You instantly relate to him. I think many would leave their fiancé, but some may try to work past it. Charlie cannot make a decision.

That’s where the problems with this character start. He continues to be indecisive on whether to protect her from the discussions and judgment, or to leave her because she’s not who he thought she was, and now can’t understand who she is and almost was. Charlie then starts to engage in his own bad behavior, including almost having sex with a coworker.

He starts to morph into a bit of a villain. That’s where the comedy of The Drama resides. It’s in Charlie’s extreme behavior. I found myself annoyed with him at times, but then I remind myself that I don’t know how I would handle the situation.

However, Charlie is frustrating because he just didn’t communicate with Emma. Instead of being fully honest, he continued to try to pretend everything was okay. This led to things continuing to escalate and go downhill.

The School Shooting Aspects Were Still Hard To Deal With, But I Didn’t Ever Feel Like The Movie Was Desensitized To The Victims

I am still conflicted by The Drama. This type of film can be very triggering for families of victims of mass shootings. People need to be warned before seeing it. It also humanizes Emma, and some may not want to see people who did or could do this humanized, when this type of thing causes so much devastation.

Rachel (Alana Haim)’s cousin is a victim of a school shooting. It has left her paralyzed. The character only briefly appears in The Drama, but I never felt like the movie was making fun of her or what happened to her. It just needed someone to represent a victim of these hideous acts. I can only speak from my perspective, so others may have viewed and reacted to the movie differently because of their lived experiences.

They are right for whatever they felt about The Drama. I never saw the movie as desensitized to the victims and their families. I saw it as a movie that showcases a couple handling a nearly impossible situation. And a movie trying to show and criticize how too much access to a developing mind can lead down dark roads.

I Still Can’t Believe Emma And Charlie Got Married

I think The Drama will join the list of movies with controversial endings. Emma and Charlie have the wedding from hell because Charlie never communicates his thoughts and fears about her. He lets them get married when they shouldn’t have. The Drama is not going to be on any best rom-com of all-time lists because it almost feels like an anti-rom-com.

The movie ends with them starting over, but I think they should have moved on.

Robert Pattinson has played plenty of notable roles, and he currently has a handful of high-profile releases on the 2026 movie schedule. However, the Twilight movies will arguably remain famous aspects of his filmography so, of course, the franchise came up while he was promoting his new film, The Drama. Funny enough, Pattison just brought up one thing from the original movie that he recently discovered, and I just know I’m going to think about it every time I rewatch it from this point on.

Just recently, Pattinson caught up with Vogue and, during the chat, he spent some time reflecting on his tenure as Edward Cullen. What I found most notable, though, was that the British actor pointed out something about his work that he hadn't discussed up until that interview. In his words:

Pattinson is talking about the iconic scene in Twilight where Edward Cullen makes his first entrance in the high school cafeteria whilst Bella Swan is getting the rundown about the mysterious Cullen family. As the actor discovered, in the scene when Edward is sitting down, he chose to use a couple of his fingers (kind of like an upside down peace sign) to lower himself down. This is honestly so precious to me. Robert Pattinson was only several years into his career at that point, and I love his funny commitment to the bit to play the immortal teenager. Right now, you can see him in The Drama with Zendaya, now in theaters, and look forward to him in Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey this summer and Dune: Part Three this holiday season.

The superhero genre continues to be wildly popular, with both DC and Marvel competing for box office supremacy. While fans look forward to upcoming Marvel movies like Spider-Man: Brand New Day, they often like to debate which hero would beat whom in a fight. The Drama stars Zendaya and Robert Pattinson were recently asked about what would happen if Batman and Tom Holland's Spider-Man came to blows, and their exchange was A+.

Honestly, I love watching the chemistry between these two. The pair were asked if they agree with the statement "Spider-Man would kick Batman's ass", with the Greatest Showman actress immediately choosing the "strongly agree" option. Points were made. Of course, fans who spent years watching the DC movies in order know that Bruce Wayne is a capable hero without powers. What's more, he usually strategizes ways to take down DC heroes in case they turn bad. So maybe the debate is not quite that simple. Although Peter Parker is also a genius who sometimes has technology working on his side.

While Pattinson is originally taken by this argument, he can't betray his character and "strongly agree" with the statement. He joked that he's contractually unable to side with Spider-Man in this debate. And just like that, the DC and Marvel rivalry lives on.

Robert Pattinson made a splash as the title character of Matt Reeves' The Batman, but it's already been years since he's rocked the cowl and cape. What we know about The Batman Part II is super limited, as it's not expected to arrive in theaters until October of 2027. The same can't be said for Zendaya, who will return as MJ in Spider-Man: Brand New Day this summer.

Personally, I'm inclined to agree with Zendaya, as I think that Peter Parker's abilities give him the advantage against Batman. But there are plenty of DC fans who likely would disagree. So just like the two stars of The Drama, coming to an agreement might be easier said than done.

The Drama is in theaters now as part of the 2026 movie release list, and Spider-Man: Brand New Day will follow suit on July 31st. As for The Batman Part II, we shouldn't expect it on the big screen until October 1st, 2027.

The Drama, starring Zendaya and Robert Pattison as an engaged couple dealing with a sudden, very disturbing revelation from Zendaya’s character Emma about her past, courted quite a bit of controversy when it first screened, after bewildering people with the trailer. The revelation that Emma had planned and almost committed a school shooting when she was a teenager really upset people, both in the movie and in the audience. I understand why, but I also don’t think the movie works without the shocking twist.

The Movie Forces Us To Confront Some Unpleasant Realities

As I wrote in my review of The Drama, director Kristoffer Borgli does an excellent job making the audience squirm for most of the film. It’s not something that I’ve experienced in what is ostensibly a rom-com. Using horror movie techniques and the darkest of comedy, we as moviegoers are never comfortable in our seats. This all hinges on the admission that Emma makes when her friends ask her about the worst thing she’s ever done.

The revelation couldn’t be something as simple as cheating on an ex. It couldn’t even be something worse, like locking someone in a closet for hours, as Rachel (Alana Haim) admitted to, or cyberbullying, as Charlie (Pattison) reveals was his worst thing. No, it really had to be something truly shocking and truly horrifying. Without Emma’s admittance, the movie doesn’t pack the same kind of punch. In fact, it doesn’t pack a punch.

The Very Bad Thing Allows For Two Things To Happen

In the movie, Emma’s past deed serves the story incredibly well. It’s something that simply cannot be swept under the rug by Charlie or her friends. Anyone in Charlie’s position would go through what he goes through. It connects with the audience because we all deal with something in our partner’s past that makes us all uncomfortable, but we have to forge ahead if we love them. Yes, this is an extreme example of that, but it’s not like the emotions are unrelatable; they are just incredibly heightened.

The revelation also allows the filmmaker to explore a societal problem on a personal level. Let’s face it, school shootings in the United States are one of the most upsetting and frustrating aspects of life here. Pretending they don’t exist, or failing to confront them, will never solve the problem. It’s not like the issue is handled flippantly in the movie. It’s the darkest and most serious aspect of the film. The movie may be funny at times, but Emma’s past is never funny.

Borgli pulls off an incredible trick in the movie by presenting a shocking twist, but allowing us as the audience to digest it, and in turn, think about it for days after seeing it. I don’t know if The Drama will be an award contender come next winter because of the controversy, but it could be my favorite movie of the year. Though I reserve the right to change my mind with the second 2026 movie starring Pattison and Zendaya, Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey, hits theaters later this summer.

Zendaya and Robert Pattinson’s first of three 2026 movie releases together just came out, and I have to say, I’ve been loving this celebrity friendship. While the actors are playing husband and wife-to-be in The Drama, off-screen, these two seem to have a goofy relationship. One behind-the-scenes picture from Zendaya of RPatz napping on the job proves it.

To celebrate The Drama hitting theaters, Zendaya took to her Instagram account to share a bunch of photos from the making of the A24 movie, and one is a clear favorite. Take a look:

Zendaya shared a fun selfie of herself making a duck face and throwing up a peace sign with a napping Robert Pattinson in the background. She captioned the picture with “sleeping beauty” as a way to describe her co-star. This gives such bestie energy, and I’m so into this for them.

It’s also funny because Robert Pattinson’s most famous character is Twilight’s Edward Cullen, who never sleeps and also likes to watch Bella Swan do so. I don’t know if Zendaya meant the reference at all, but given the popularity of the vampire franchise over 20 years later, it’s hard not to think about it.

In your typical movie, the hours can be really long for actors and the crew, so it’s not unheard of for actors to catch some Zs between shots. Plus, Robert Pattinson is currently a new father who welcomed a baby girl with partner Suki Waterhouse two years ago. That’s got to add to the sleep deprivation. CinemaBlend’s own The Drama review gave the movie 4 out of 5 stars for being “unsettling” and full of “great chemistry” between its stars. Other critics have been praising the relationship movie overall, with comments describing it as “stomach-churning,” sure to “strike up important discussions” and “aesthetically overworked.”

While promoting The Drama, Zendaya has gone viral (yet again) for method dressing, this time for wearing something old, something new, something borrowed and something blue throughout the press tour. It’s been a bit ironic to see the actress in all this wedding attire because rumor has it that Zendaya recently got married to Tom Holland, too.

After you see Zendaya and Robert Pattinson in The Drama, they have two other movies in 2026. They’re both in Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey, coming out this July along with Dune: Part 3 arriving in December. I know I can’t wait to see these two do more press together throughout the year and see more peeks into their real-life friendship.

The pair has certainly spent a lot of time together recently. However, they admit they didn’t quite realize how much time they'd spend together when it all started.

Zendaya and Pattinson appeared on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon in advance of The Drama hitting theaters, and they were asked about the way they ended up in three movies together in a single year. While one would think that this would mean the actors would have a lot to talk about, apparently, due to the secrecy surrounding The Odyssey, neither actor realized their co-star was in that movie with them while filming their A24 project. We certainly know about the incredible secrecy that can surround major film productions, and this is most definitely the case with every new Christopher Nolan movie. In the case of The Odyssey, when we did start to learn which actors were involved, we still didn’t know what movie it was that they would be making.

Things were a little different when it came to their third movie. While Dune: Part Three almost certainly had its share of secrecy as well, Zendaya said that she knew Pattinson was going to be in the film before production began, because she was asked about the actor. It sounds like, since she had been making movies with him already, she was seen as an expert on how Pattinson would fit on the set. She revealed…

Robert Pattinson and Zendaya clearly get along, which is good since if they didn’t, making those three movies together would have been rough. While it seems unlikely they're going to appear in quite so many movies together, it certainly won't be shocking if we see them again in the future, as they clearly like each other. There’s been a ton of hype surrounding Kristoffer Borgli’s The Drama, which is one of three movies starring Zendaya and Robert Pattinson scheduled to hit the 2026 movie calendar. The stressful first trailer shows engaged couple Emma and Charlie’s relationship getting rocked when a big secret is revealed, ultimately questioning the limits of unconditional love. Critics have seen The Drama, and while they say this isn’t a movie that can be enjoyed, per se, it’s getting mostly high marks.

First reactions to The Drama were also mostly positive, as audiences said the upcoming A24 film was both deeply disturbing and darkly hilarious. CinemaBlend’s review of The Drama says as much, with Hugh Scott saying the awfulness of the big secret gives the overall story a stronger impact. Some dark comedy breaks up the tension but may leave you feeling guilty for laughing. He rates the film 4 out of 5 stars and says:

India Block of The Standard gives it a perfect 5 out of 5 stars. The critic says writer/director Kristoffer Borgli skillfully creates art that he knows will disturb as well as delight. Block writes:

The Drama’s big narrative twist happens about 30 minutes in, according to critics, and how everyone reacts to the dark secret that throttles the couple is just as (if not more) important than the secret itself. Still, Johnny Oleksinski of the New York Post says he wouldn’t be surprised if theaters see some walk-outs from furious audience members. Like it or not, the critic says, it will linger for days. He gives it 3 out of 4 stars and writes:

Brian Truitt of USA TODAY also rates it 3 stars out of 4, calling The Drama a “disaster-filled deconstruction of the romantic comedy,” that is ultimately one of the “boldest, brashest” offerings in recent memory. In Truitt’s words:

William Bibbiani of The Wrap says ultimately The Drama is too unsettling to enjoy, but credit where it’s due, the story is complex, fascinating to watch and performed by the “amazing” Zendaya and Robert Pattinson. Bibbiani says of the actors:

Robert Daniels of RogerEbert has a different takeaway from the film. The critic says Zendaya’s character’s backstory should elicit questions regarding her experience as a Black woman from the South who is marrying a white man. Kristoffer Borgli can’t understand the chain of events that led to Emma’s psychological state, so he doesn’t approach them, Daniels says. He gives the movie 1.5 out of 4 stars and writes:

Apparently just like Robert Pattinson’s character Charlie, audiences are going to have to decide for themselves if they can get past Emma’s secret and take away something from The Drama. Critics overall appear to have liked it, as it holds a Certified Fresh 82% on Rotten Tomatoes. Love it or hate, though, it sounds like we’re going to be talking about this one for a while as it lingers in our brains. The Drama hits theaters on Friday, April 3.

Relationships are complex. Facing an unsettling revelation about a partner’s history can present one of the most complex issues in any relationship. That kind of revelation is at the heart of The Drama, the latest film from A24 and writer/director Kristoffer Borgli (Dream Scenario). Zendaya and Robert Pattinson play Emma and Charlie, an engaged couple who must suddenly grapple with Emma’s past as they hurdle towards their wedding date.

Like the spoiler-y revelation, the movie is unsettling, but it’s darkly funny at times, and ultimately a satisfying way to explore both societal issues and personal issues at the same time. The Drama finds a new spin on an old idea that makes it completely different than anything else in the romantic comedy genre. Rom coms are meant to be fantasies, not nightmares. Even the tropes it incorporates are twisted from what we all expect.

There is a lot to say, but it’s tricky to talk about.

The Drama is hard to talk about for a couple of reasons. The subject matter is dark, for sure, but it’s also a movie that you want to encourage people to go into blind. The marketing of the movie has been very coy about revealing too much about what causes the titular drama in the relationship, and it's a better movie for it. That has also caused some controversy, but don’t let that stop you from seeing it. Yes, it’s easy to see why so many people are upset about the subject matter, but without the surprise of Emma’s confession, the film doesn’t have the same kind of impact.

The complexity Emma and Charlie face is extreme, to be sure, but everyone can relate on some smaller level (and hopefully nothing like the one in the movie). Everyone understands dealing with something in their partner’s past that upsets them, and by presenting in an extreme way, Borgli can straddle the personal issue and compound it with a societal one. He does so brilliantly. It’s a film that will stick with you; it's a film that you’ll think about for weeks.

It’s not an easy movie to watch, but the subject matter is helped by the breezy pace and the occasionally hilarious, though very dark, moments. Laughing at this anti-rom-com might make one feel guilty after you do, but it allows you to catch your breath after the heavier parts of the story. This isn’t a laugh riot, so the comedy is as impactful as Emma’s confession. Borgli really pulls a rabbit out of a hat here, and it could easily have been derailed by a much more trite script.

Zendaya and Pattinson’s star power shines through.

Like the magic trick of a script, the weighty nature of the story is lightened by the performances from Zendaya and Pattinson. The two stars at the center of a great romantic comedy are usually described as having great chemistry, but that isn’t the correct description here. Yes, they are working really well together, but the audience doesn’t fall in love with their relationship. That’s not the point. We are as uncomfortable with the situation as they are.

Still, both stars put in wonderful performances that allow us to have contempt for each character but also compassion for both of them. Charlie’s struggles are on the surface as we are allowed to empathize with him, while Emma’s are smoldering, just as they have been her whole life. We see it, and we feel it, and both actors are at the top of their game. Seeing them at the Oscars just a few weeks ago, looking as glamorous as any movie stars ever have, is a stark contrast to what we see on the screen in The Drama. There is nothing glamorous here, and the pain for both characters is felt.

The rest of the cast, especially Mamoudou Athie (Kinds of Kindness) as Mike and Alana Haim (Licorice Pizza) as Rachel – Charlie and Emma’s best friends – are equally great, going through many of the same emotions we feel as the audience after Emma’s dark history is revealed. Zoë Winters’ (Materialists) role as the wedding photographer is also brilliant, again bringing some much-needed levity to the film. Hailey Gates (Challengers), who plays Charlie’s co-worker and confidant, is also wonderful, playing off the emotional mess that Charlie becomes.

The controversy surrounding the film doesn’t diminish the impact.

You may have read about the controversy surrounding the twist in The Drama that ultimately turns the rom-com genre on its head. Without spoiling anything, I’ll say that I understand why it has upset people, but without it, this film simply doesn’t have the same impact. The confession is meant to be shocking, and it is. It really is. Emma starts out being blasé about it, and that has angered some, but again, that’s the point. If the twist is meant to make us confront the simpler problems we all face in our relationships, it succeeds in a major way.

This isn’t a simple rom-com. It starts with a meet-cute and sets up to be one, but, as I said, it flips the genre on its head. Borgli uses horror movie techniques to make us feel even more unsettled as the movie progresses and has us questioning what we would do if faced with the same dilemma Charlie is faced with. His friends are horrified. HE is horrified. But he loves Emma, and he knows and loves Emma (or he thinks he does), so there is no simple solution.

Emma herself must again confront her terrible past, something she has obviously tried to put behind her, but cannot. Not when she also loves Charlie as much as he loves her. Grappling with a partner in full, the good, the bad, and the very ugly, is universal, and The Drama presents that in a way that no movie I’ve ever seen does.

Robert Pattinson has a new movie coming out with Zendaya on the 2026 release schedule this weekend, and while new interviews are beginning to run around, I think it may be helpful to point out that the actor is not truthful a lot. In fact, he’s happy to lie often in interviews, and has admitted as much in the past. Let’s run it down.

What The Twilight Star Has Said About Being An Unreliable Narrator

Back in 2022, GQ did a lengthy profile with Robert Pattinson during which the actor allegedly admitted to lying all the time. The profile referenced a specific incident from 2009 in which he said he only washed his hair once every six weeks as an example of these casual lies. Per the author of the article:

At the time, the Twilight star’s specific comments on the matter were not included, but then a little over a year ago, The New York Times tracked down some full quotes where Robert Pattinson again spoke candidly about being an unreliable narrator. At one point Pattinson told Matt Lauer during a previous era of Today that he’d seen “the joke” car explode at the circus and “kill” a clown. This is a real thing that happened. Later Pattinson confirmed:

I’ve actually thought about these interviews a lot over the last few years.

The Drama And The Drama Over The Inflatable Boat

It all began when a short while after the first interview came out, Robert Pattinson told another major outlet, Architectural Digest, that he didn’t have furniture for a long time and slept in an “inflatable boat.”

Could it be true? Sure. Is it true? I have no idea.

Then, I’ve been following the promotion of the upcoming A24 film The Drama over the last several weeks, and I saw Robert Pattinson do an interview with Brut America where he was asked about weddings of all things. Despite the rumors he and Suki Waterhouse may already be wed after the birth of their little one, I honestly don’t think he has any idea what he’s saying here.

The thing is, Pattinson’s inflection stays the same no matter what he’s talking about. He’s an incredible and often enthusiastic liar if and when he’s lying. Even when he’s making up non-truths he sometimes maintains eye contact and gives just enough detail whatever he’s saying seems plausible. It’s almost like he acts for a living.

So, instead we have to learn real-life facts about the actor from those around, including Hollywood names like Jamie Dornan who used to live with him. ( Side note: I wonder if Dornan could comment on the inflatable boat.)

Now, he’s out and about promoting The Drama, and Zendaya even told Jimmy Kimmel that Pattinson admitted upon meeting her that he "used to be a pathological liar," but allegedly he's reformed. Though he also told Kimmel this month it's "part of" his "schtick" now. So, who knows?

Honestly, I think Zendaya has done a good job of reigning him in a bit. We even got that viral moment in which she was diplomatic and he joked no one in the Twilight fandom was ever actually Team Jacob. It’s a good thing, because they literally have three movies coming out together this year.

I suppose you have to work with what you have to work with, and the Euphoria and Spider-Man star has done a good job, here. However, if you didn’t know already, please don’t take Robert Pattinson interviews particularly seriously.

Zendaya has certainly been busy lately. Not only does she have the long-awaited Euphoria Season 3 coming in just a couple of weeks, but she’s got four films headed our way on the 2026 movie calendar. Strangely enough, three of those also feature Robert Pattinson, and early screenings are underway for the first of the bunch — A24’s romantic thriller The Drama. We’ve been tantalized by this one since the first trailer, so what are people’s first reactions?

The Drama is centered around betrothed couple Emma and Charlie (Zendaya and Robert Pattinson), whose relationship is rocked just before their wedding when some unsettling truths about the past are unveiled. Bill Bria of SlashFilm took to X (Twitter) to offer his thoughts on the dark comedy, and he confirms writer/director Kristoffer Borgli hits both the dark and the comedy with this one. The critic writes:

The Drama is Kristoffer Borgli’s first feature since 2023’s Dream Scenario, and just like that flick, this one was produced by Ari Aster and distributed by A24. Basically that means audiences are in for a ride, and Chloe Williams of Brit + Co says it’s one that we’re not ready for. Williams’ post (edited for capitalization) reads:

Spoilers for this movie are everywhere, so be cautious if you go digging for its secrets. I won’t reveal anything that I’ve read here, but suffice it to say The Drama supposedly touches on some sensitive subjects. X user dunesmessiah says:

Robert Pattinson himself said he was “going crazy” at one point during filming and spent two hours on the phone with Zendaya as she talked him through a scene. I’m not sure what kind of complicated narrative we’re about the dive into, but according to anthakneee on X, it’s going to get wild. They wrote:

Critic Erik Davis would seem to agree, and he suggests that even if the movie’s twist does get spoiled for you, it’s what happens after that’s really worth watching. Davis calls it a “top-tier dark comedy,” thanks to sharp writing, slick editing and its story about love when things get messy. The critic continues:

Demet of Nexus Point News continues the string of positive reactions, praising everything from the performances to the score to the cinematography. The post reads:

Critic Courtney Howard says the leads are perfectly cast in a dark romantic dramedy that infuses plenty of cringe into the laughs. Howard writes:

I can’t say that stress is the first emotion I go for when heading to the theater, but I’m pretty intrigued by these first reactions to The Drama. It’s a big year professionally for Tom Holland and Zendaya, seeing as they both have multiple releases on the 2026 movie schedule. However, there’s also been tons of speculation about this being a big year for them personally, too, as rumors and reports have been running around about whether they’re married or not. Well, now, after seeing the Spider-Man: Brand New Day star without a ring on, I have to wonder if Zendaya’s wedding band could simply be related to her upcoming A24 movie, The Drama.

Tom Holland Was Not Wearing A Ring At An Event For Spider-Man’s Trailer

So, let’s start with Tom Holland. Earlier in March, Zendaya’s stylist, Law Roach, claimed that the couple’s wedding “already happened.” That’s led to lots of alleged details about the ceremony, and people have been trying to spot Holland in public to see if he’s wearing a wedding band.

Well, a few weeks ago, he was seen not wearing a ring. Then, when he lit up the Empire State Building in celebration of the release of the Spider-Man: Brand New Day trailer in New York City, he was, once again, not wearing a band on his left ring finger. Take a look:

Now, obviously, this could mean nothing. It’s not like it’s out of the ordinary for married couples to not wear their rings all the time. However, this, mixed with some other things that have happened regarding Zendaya and her movie The Darama do leave me wondering what’s going on with her wedding band.

Zendaya Is Method Dressing With A Wedding Theme For The Drama

While Zendaya did call out the fake AI images of her and Holland getting married, she has been seen out and about wearing a gold band alongside her engagement ring. She did it at the Oscars, for example, and most recently at the LA premiere for The Drama.

At that event, she also made the theme of her method of dressing for The Drama known. The romance, which stars Zendaya and Robert Pattinson, is focused on an engaged couple and their upcoming wedding. So, in honor of that, the actress is creating outfits with the saying “something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue” in mind.

So, is her ring part of the promotion? I don’t really know, however, the intentional outfits mixed with Holland’s lack of ring make me wonder.

Zendaya Has Not Changed Her Last Name

Adding a bit more fuel to this fire, it was also made clear that Zendaya has not changed her last name (at least she hasn’t yet).

On March 14, the Euphoria actress was in Las Vegas for a promotional event for The Drama that involved couples actually getting married. The movie's stars, Zendaya and Alana Haim, were in attendance, and they served as witnesses. So, they were signing marriage certificates that day.

Those are public records, and People revealed that the Dune star was signing them as Zendaya Coleman, not Zendaya Holland.

Again, this really does not confirm or deny anything. If she and Holland are married, it’s possible that she chose not to change her last name. And if they aren’t married, obviously her name wouldn’t be different yet.

However, no matter what the state of the couple’s relationship is, her last name not being different does make me wonder about that gold band on her finger.

Is this all for press? Is Tom Holland just not wearing a ring? Are they really married? I don’t have answers to those questions.

However, all the elements we discussed here certainly make for an interesting conversation, especially since The Drama comes out on April 3. I’m also sure this discussion will continue throughout the year too, seeing as Zendaya and Tom Holland are starring in their next two movies together, as The Odyssey and Spider-Man: Brand New Day are set to hit theaters on July 17 and 31, respectively.

Even though it seems like fans will forever be at least 18-24 months away from ever experiencing Matt Reeves’ The Batman Part II, the highly anticipated sequel is coming together slowly but surely. And we’re at the point in the pre-production process where star Robert Pattinson is letting some teasy enthusiasm out while promoting his upcoming A24 movie The Drama, and it sounds like he really digs the script.

Speaking with Deadline in a clip shared on TikTok, Pattinson was asked what he could share about returning to the cape and cowl, and whether or not it the production was currently ongoing. Sharing that it’s expected to kick off in a couple of months, the Die My Love star also shared some carefully crafted thoughts about the script from Reeves and co-screenwriter Mattson Tomlin, and how this upcoming superhero movies will stand apart from everything else. In his words:

Obviously, Matt Reeves & Co. wouldn't take a years-long break between movies just to come back and serve up a warmed-over story that hits all the same beats we've seen before. But it still gets me pretty pumped to hear Pattinson share that praise regardless.

What could some of those big swings be that he's talking about? Let's go through some guesses, from the most likely to the least likely.

• The Batman Part II will be an entirely faithful adaptation of Jeph Loeb and Tim Sale's The Long Halloween miniseries, with Sebastian Stan and Scarlett Johansson as Harvey and Gilda Dent.

This idea is aligned with a lot of recent rumors and assumptions related to Scarlett Johansson's surprising casting, which preceded Stan joining the franchise by a month, and is based on previous reports that Reeves' sequel would dig into the all-time classic comic book arc.

The storyline includes Harvey going from a friend of Bruce Wayne's to a disfigured and vindictive foe, with his dutiful wife Gilda at his side. It's the likeliest arc adaptation of any, especially when tied into news of A-listers turning down the role of Christopher Dent, Harvey's father.

• The Batman Part II will introduce Dick Grayson and /or the entire Flying Graysons family.

Within Batman's long comic history, The Long Halloween is technically viewed through the prism of it being one of the biggest cases from his early days as a vigilante, which would obviously match up with how long he's been donning the Bat suit in live-action. As such, it's a bit too early for our brooding hero to become a suitable guardian for an orphaned ward. But answer me this: who's swinging bigger than a family of trapeze artists?

Live-action Robins are few and far between, and it might make sense for Reeves to want to give such an important mythos character as much time on the screen as possible for development purposes. I don't necessarily expect this one, given the myriad other new characters reportedly being introduced. But I do expect more of those particular breadcrumbs to be dished out.

• Barry Keoghan's Joker will hit Gotham City's streets as a sub-antagonist.

Within any Batman story, the Joker always looms as the largest and most potentially devious and deadly of everyone in Bats' rogues gallery. So in theory, what bigger swing might there be than introducing the Joker proper, but only having him take on a minor antagonist role, instead of being the big bad? That kind of storyline doesn't happen much in any DC media, so I wouldn't expect this movie to be the exception. But it could be a good way to build the villain's legacy up without turning him into a full-on monster from the jump.

• A multiverse is introduced that allows James Gunn to finally cast his own Batman.

Given that James Gunn wants to let Matt Reeves' Batman-fueled trilogy finish before introducing another Batman into the DCU proper, is it possible that Reeves' sequel could introduce its own multiverse concept that would allow Gunn to get his own Dark Knight cast without it being a confusing situation for fans? It seems less likely than other options, but maybe not as unlikely as "the DCU existing for 4+ years without a Batman reference.

Surely, The Batman Part II will astound audiences in ways I couldn't even hope to predict, so you know I'll be there with bat-bells on when it hits theaters on October 1, 2027.

Those who have read Frank Herbert’s Dune: Messiah have already known that the third film in director Denis Villeneuve’s trilogy adaptation would be quite different from its predecessors. The story jumps ahead in time, and instead of being a revolutionary epic, it unfolds as a political thriller – with sinister forces working to undermine the power of Emperor Paul Atreides as the Fremen jihad continues to spread across the universe. What we have not known, of course, is exactly what that would mean for the big screen vision, but this morning we have been delivered a staggering impression via the first look that is the debut trailer for Dune: Part Three.

We are still about nine months away from the highly anticipated upcoming sci-fi blockbuster arriving in theaters, but it seems that the arrival of Project Hail Mary on large format screens this coming Friday was deemed too enticing an opportunity for an early preview to pass up. I won’t say it’s not effective being watched on one’s computer, but every part of the Dune experience, including the marketing, is best seen on the biggest screen possible – and I say that with a personal stamp of approval, having attended an IMAX preview of this new trailer yesterday afternoon.

The footage doesn’t reveal much in terms of story, but we see a bunch of familiar and new faces – and even the familiar faces look considerably different given that 17 years have passed since we last saw the majority of them.

Depicting the aftermath of Paul Atreides’ (Timothée Chalamet) ascendency, his launch of a cosmic war, and his agreement to marry Princess Irulan (Florence Pugh) – all depicted in the end of Dune: Part Two – Dune: Part Three sees the ruler surrounded by political and personal conflict. The Fremen jihad continues and he abstains from impregnating his wife out of his commitment to and love for Chani (Zendaya).The greatest threat of all, however, comes from an antagonist conspiracy seeking to undermine his rule that sees him “gifted” with a ghola: an artificial human named Hayt (Jason Momoa) bred to resemble Paul’s mentor and friend Duncan Idaho.

The trailer features a number of returning stars, including the aforementioned Timothée Chalamet, Florence Pugh, Zendaya, Rebecca Ferguson, Javier Bardem, Anya-Taylor Joy, and Jason Momoa, but it also gives us our first look at some new characters, most notably Robert Pattinson as the antagonist Face Dancer Scytale. As you probably noticed, the actor is sporting a very different look in this movie than past performances, as he has not only a short crew cut, but his hair is bleach blond.

It feels like it was just yesterday that Denis Villeneuve was first blowing our minds with his brilliant and beautiful depiction of Arrakis in 2021’s Dune, but we are now just a few months away from seeing the conclusion of the trilogy that he has personally been envisioning for decades. With the movie still in post-production following the conclusion of filming at the end of last year, this trailer is only a tease of what we can expect, and I will join all fans in savoring every peek we get in the runup to the release date. Be sure to mark your calendars: audiences around the world will be able to see Dune: Part Three on December 18, and it is expected to be one of the most special cinematic events of the year.

There’s a lot of glam and fun to the celebrity fashion we see at the Oscars after party. In fact, people are a lot bolder with their fashion takes on the Vanity Fair red carpet than they are at the awards show itself. Anya Taylor-Joy, Kim Kardashian and more absolutely brought it, but the couple that stood out to me most was Robert Pattinson and Suki Waterhouse. It wasn’t even her unusual choice of an architectural feather top with a gauzy cape attached. It was more the color scheme that did it for me.

I don’t typically expect Robert Pattinson to be a man looking to method dress on the red carpet, but he threw on a very wedding appropriate tux and walked his real-life bride Suki Waterhouse down the carpet. She was wearing a dress that was very much giving bridal, the cape acting like a veil and the rest of the dress giving a perfect satin wedding vibe.

The whole thing is screaming Law Roach method dressing to me, and if it’s not, it’s a perfectly-timed coincidence.

If you watched the Oscars, you should know that Zendaya and Robert Pattinson both presented one of the 2026 Oscar winners (Best Director) together as part of the promotion for their upcoming 2026 movie release The Drama. Zendaya worked with her glam team, including Roach, but also Ursula Stephen for her hair and Ernesto Casillas for her makeup. Granted, she ultimately went with a very non-Bridal brown dress when she presented with Pattinson onstage.

The wedding theme has been central to the promo for the upcoming A24 movie after the trailer for The Drama dropped. There was the fake engagement announcement. Then, Zendaya popped up at a wedding chapel in Las Vegas. Suki Waterhouse donning bridal white next to her real-life husband in a tux is the obvious next step in this evolution, and is giving the same vibes as when Blake Lively supported Ryan Reynolds on the Deadpool & Wolverine red carpet in his very specific shade of red.

This doesn't normally seem like the type of thing Robert Pattinson would be party too, so whatever happened to get him into a Dior tux and Waterhouse into that exquisite Tamara Ralph dress really makes me happy.

Every so often a YA book gets turned into a movie, and becomes a sensation. Twilight is a prime example of this, as the book to screen adaptation (which is streaming with a HBO Max subscription) was wildly popular and made household names out of its actors. That includes Robert Pattinson, who lead the Twilight cast as Edward Cullen. The 39 year-old actor recently reflected on that sudden fame, and trying to separate himself from the character.

In the same interview, the actor went to share how he felt different from Edward, saying:

Part of the reason why some folks felt like Pattinson and Edward were so similar was because of his offscreen relationship with co-star Kristen Stewart. In fact, there is still fan chatter about them to this day, despite the years that have passed since their breakup. Of the four movies Zendaya is expected to appear in this year – A24’s upcoming movie The Drama, Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey, Spider-Man: Brand New Day and Dune: Part Three – three of them also star Robert Pattinson. So, they interviewed each other for Interview Magazine, and her co-star asked what the most Hollywood thing about her was. However, he also quickly noted that he thinks she’s “so not Hollywood.” Although, according to the actress, there is one thing she does that would fall into that category, as she explained:

I don’t think that’s a ridiculous Hollywood thing; I think this is simply Zendaya being a good dog mom.

We know how much she loves her pup Noon, too, because she’s been very open about how obsessed she is with him. In fact, earlier in the same interview, she even said she would “get into a fight” over her dog. Plus, in an interview with Vanity Fair, she noted that Noon has a “sensitive tummy,” so of course, she’ll do what needs to be done to take care of him.

Zendaya Opens Up About Staying Grounded

However, outside of going above and beyond to take care of her dog, Zendaya stays pretty grounded. Notably, while she got engaged to Tom Holland a little over a year ago, their relationship has always stayed very private. Plus, during this interview, she made it clear that she’s surrounded by people who help her go through and process life, she said:

She’s also very aware of the absurdity of the job. Explaining that idea to Pattinson, and how odd it is to talk to other people about what they do for their profession, she said:

I feel like this is a good perspective to have on life, and it might add to why Zendaya is able to stay so grounded.

While she’s a fashion icon and an A-list actress, she seems to try to lead a normal and chill life when she's not working. Unless it has to do with her dog. Then she’s going full Hollywood to make sure Noon gets what he needs to thrive.

Now, while Zendaya continues to treat Noon like a Hollywood star, we should be getting excited about what she’s releasing this year. First, we’ll get The Drama on April 3, which will be followed shortly by the premiere of Euphoria Season 3 on April 12 (you can stream that with an HBO Max subscription). Then, the rest of her year will be filled with big Hollywood blockbusters, because we’ll get The Odyssey on July 17, Spider-Man: Brand New Day on July 31, and Dune: Part Three on December 18.

So, while Zendaya’s dog might be more Hollywood than her, she’s certainly about to have an iconic year in Hollywood.

Back in December, the first teaser for Kristoffer Borgli's The Drama arrived online, and it kept things vague. It established that the movie stars Zendaya and Robert Pattinson as an engaged couple, and that things take a bit of a turn in the run up to their wedding, but it offered not much more. Now, we have the first full trailer for the film, and while it gives us a much better idea of what’s going on, I love that it’s still maintaining a big mystery.

Again, we find Zendaya and Pattinson (set to appear in three movies together this year) as Emma and Charlie, young people who are deeply in love, but there is a turning point when they have some wine with married friends played by Alana Haim and Mamoudou Athie. Haim’s character suggests that they do a kind of pre-wedding trust exercise by admitting the worst thing that they’ve ever done, and they go around in a circle making their confessions… but then the tone of the conversation changes when Emma spills her secret. Fun very quickly turns into fiery outrage, and it seems that the question that will be addressed in the movie will be whether or not the relationship can survive the revelation… whatever it happens to be.

It needs to be said that I am so, so, so happy that this trailer not only doesn’t give away Emma’s “worst thing,” but it teases everyone else’s “worst thing” as well. I don’t know if this is a detail that will successfully be kept under wraps as we get closer to the release date of the film and more marketing materials emerge, but I’m keeping my fingers crossed, as this is exactly the kind of thing audiences shouldn’t know about until they are sitting in a dark theater watching the drama/The Drama unfold on the big screen.

The film is Kristoffer Borgli’s follow-up to 2023’s Dream Scenario, and that alone has me interested in seeing this 2026 movie at the first opportunity (Nicolas Cage-led film was #10 on my personal Top 15 list for the year), but my anticipation for the work has now taken on a new flavor, as my curiosity about the darkness that is being cooked up here is perfectly tantalizing.

If you’re joining me on the anticipation train here, it should be known that there is still some waiting ahead, as we now have exactly two months before The Drama arrives in theaters everywhere on April 3 (courtesy of cinephile favorite indie studio A24). Mark your calendars now, and then join me in the adventure that will be trying to avoid any and all potential spoilers until the film premieres, as there will certainly be people in the world who can’t be patient and need answers now.

While a-listers only film one movie at a time, due to the magic of the movie release schedule, sometimes we’re lucky enough to not get just but, but two or more gems from a celebrity per year. We can thank studios holding projects for the opportune moment, and I just realized that in 2026 this means we’re getting not one, but three movies with Robert Pattinson and Zendaya starring together.

Maybe you've already connected these dots, but this is the first time I really put all the puzzle pieces together. In fact, it seems like a fact that should have been firmly cemented in my brain give 2026 is going to be a big year for quite a few A-listers, but somehow this flew under the radar until Pattinson himself opened up about working with Zendaya in a recent interview.

He opened up a few days ago about landing both Dune: Part Three and his new movie The Drama with Zendaya around the same time, and all those puzzle pieces started falling into place. Here's the 2026 lineup the two inadvertently crafted together:

• The Drama
• The Odyssey
• Dune: Part Three

That’s definitely three projects all coming out in 2026. The Drama is first up with an April 3 theatrical rollout. Christopher Nolan’s highly-anticipated The Odyssey will come this summer, rolling out into theaters on July 17th. Finally, we’ll get the sequel Dune: Part Three, a movie that originally felt like it wouldn’t get made right away, but has come down the pipeline quickly since Denis Villeneuve announced he “was moved” by the audiences’ emotional responses. I'm sure each of these films had the two actors working together to differing degrees, but they do both share billing.

Part of this wild year for a-lister releases simply has to do with The Odyssey having a stacked cast. A bunch of major names have roles in The Odyssey this year, including Robert Pattinson and Zendaya, but also her fiancé Tom Holland and Anne Hathaway. The latter two are also having banner years.

In fact, until this week, I really thought 2026 was going to be the year of Tom Holland. As it turns out, his flicks Avengers: Doomsday, The Odyssey, and Spider-Man: Brand New Day may be eclipsed by some actors with fewer entries on the upcoming Marvel movie schedule.

Hathaway is also in The Odyssey (honestly that list goes on and on, including the likes of Matt Damon, Charlize Theron and Lupita N'yongo). She also has Devil Wears Prada 2 coming earlier in the summer on May 1st. Then she's in the adaptation of Colleen Hoover's Verity, set for release on October 2nd, plus a flick called Flowervale Street from the It Follows director. So, as I said prior, it's really kind of a banner year for quite a few A-listers. Yet, I'm very interested to see how these Robert Pattinson and Zendaya roles pan out.

Being a fan of Twilight while the movies were coming out was really a singular experience, wasn’t it? It was a bunch of your friends and a mom chaperone taking you to the midnight premieres, listening to all the soundtracks and of course, picking between Team Edward and Team Jacob. Funny enough, the actual wife of Taylor Lautner was one of those fans who grew up with the franchise, but she was actually rooting for the vampires.

“I was too young for Jacob’s abs,” Lautner’s wife (who is also named Taylor Lautner since they got married back in 2022) told Cosmopolitan in defense of the fun fact. And, when Tay was asked if she sees something about her husband in real life that reflects what she loved about Edward Cullen as a young girl, this exchange happened between the couple:

• Tay: “Nothing! I always say I wasn’t into ‘hotness’ yet then.”
• Taylor: “Yeah, like Robert Pattinson isn’t hot…”
• Tay: “There’s nothing Edward about you, which I love.”

The Twilight star and his wife come from completely different backgrounds, and yet they found each other back in 2018. While Taylor Lautner spent a lot of his childhood getting into acting with early roles in The Adventures of Sharkboy and Lavagirl and Cheaper By The Dozen before becoming a viral star for the Twilight movies, his wife was living a “normal life in my normal suburb.” As the actor added:

The couple was set up by the actor’s sister, Makena. Tay Lautner was a nurse who worked 12-hour shifts at a hospital during the peak of the COVID-19 pandemic, but after the career weighed on her and she was diagnosed with severe PTSD, depression and anxiety, she decided to resign. Both Taylor Lautners currently host a podcast together called The Squeeze.

Taylor Lautner is leaning into his Twilight roots soon with his meta series Taylor Lautner: Werewolf Hunter, where he’ll play a heightened version of himself who is recruited to join a secret society of werewolf trackers. On the franchise’s front, there’s also a Twilight animated series for Netflix currently being made based on Midnight Sun.

The couple has rewatched the Twilight movies together, where Tay actually said she had an emotional reaction to revisiting the films now that they are husband and wife. The fandom might always be divided on Team Edward and Team Jacob, and apparently, the phenomenon actually made it “difficult” for Lautner and Pattinson to get close on the movies.

Obviously, Tay Lautner is indisputably Team Jacob nowadays, and if you ask me, I think it’s sweet that she was a fan, but not Jacob-obsessed prior to their relationship.

Robert Pattinson is seemingly one of the busiest actors on the planet, especially when it comes to mega-profile blockbuster projects. The relatively recent past has seen him bounce from Christopher Nolan’s epic The Odyssey (catch the first trailer here) to Denis Villeneuve’s third Dune film to the psychological drama Die My Love to projects we don’t even know about yet. Not to mention another low-key sequel on the way, an upcoming superhero movie no less, in Matt Reeves’ The Batman: Part II. The dude has hardly any time for his family, much less part-time musical ventures.

That’s right, for those who may not be so aware, the Twilight vet has been dabbling in making music ever since he landed a song on the vampy drama’s soundtrack. When asked by GQ about what kind of tunes he’s been crafting as of late, Pattinson recalled reaching a solid creative peak while filming The Batman, saying that he was essentially a one-man recording act on the set, even while donning the Dark Knight’s headpiece. As he put it:

While I can't say it with 100% certainty, I'm pretty sure that fans have never read, seen or experienced a Batman story where Bruce Wayne's billions were made via his skills as an electronic music producer. (Or any kind of music.) One might have thought Pattinson's brooding Bruce might have penned Nirvana's "Something in the Way," given its prominence in The Batman, but he was apparently working on higher-energy fare.

The actor doubled-down in confirming that he was indeed wearing Batman's signature cowl while grooving and vaping behind the scenes, saying it would have been too much of a hassle to remove it each time. In his words:

Considering how many celebrities are pushing dual careers as both singers and on-screen performers (for better or worse in many cases), it's almost surprising that Pattinson and his publicity team haven't made a bigger push to get his music released. Not that he would have a wealth of time to promote it on tour or anything.

While it's not made clear exactly why Pattinson won't be releasing the music he created, the comments he made about self-assessing his music may have something to do with it. As he put it:

If we could just get that video of him making music in the Batman cowl, that might be all the promotional material needed to get his tracks to the top of Spotify's charts. If one of those tracks happens to land on the soundtrack for Reeves' sequel, that wouldn't hurt a bit.

For The Batman Part II, Pattinson will presumably be reteaming with co-stars Jeffrey Wright, Zoë Kravitz, Andy Serkis, and Colin Farrell, along with new cast members like Scarlett Johansson and fellow MCU vet Sebastian Stan, who's thought to be playing Two-Face. The film's script has been ready for months now, with Farrell and others giving it high marks, so the wait is on for that production to begin in earnest ahead of its eventual October 1, 2027 release date.

Some people might have lost track of Robert Pattinson since he gained monumental fame as Twilight's Edward, but the Mickey 17 actor has steadily kept busy. Now, he is learning the true meaning of the word. Remember a couple years ago when Jonathan Bailey was doing four different projects all at the same time? Well, R-Patz said hold my Dior Parfum, I’m going to do 5 major films in a year. While that’s an impressive feat, I’m more shook to hear how he landed these big gigs.

I think we can officially say we are amidst a Robert Pattinson Renaissance. After releasing Die My Love to finish off 2025, Pattinson has numerous big name projects scheduled for release on the 2026 movie schedule, including Dune: Part Three, The Drama and Christopher Nolan's star-studded adaptation The Odyssey. Oh, and let’s not forget he’s about to start filming The Batman Part II, which is now scheduled to release in October 2027. The High Life actor broke down his wild filming schedule for GQ, but the craziest part is how he nabbed these roles:

The fact that he just stumbled upon that hauntingly stunning film with Jennifer Lawrence is staggering. Robert Pattinson, I didn’t realize you had game like that, respect. After recently re-watching The Batman and Die My Love, I’ll admit I’m quite impressed with Pattinson's range. It’s not hard to believe he is heavily recruited by his peers, but to have it happen so casually is what blows my mind. I guess it really is about who you know in Hollywood.

These opportunities really do seem to just fall into Pattinson’s lap, though. Take for instance his cameo in Marty Supreme. Though he never appears on camera, The King actor supplied his British accent as the faceless umpire during the scene at the British Open semifinals. A friend of the Safdies since working with them on the 2017 indie crime thriller Good Time, Pattinson happened to be stopping by the set that day, just to say hi.

Upon further thought, it’s pretty funny that Pattinson just blindly accepts these offers. I’m not sure the Devil All The Time actor realized what he was signing up for, at least that's the feeling I get from hearing his comments:

Now, imagine raising a toddler on top of all that. Pattinson's Die My Love co-star, Jennifer Lawrence, says he’s a great dad and revealed he was flying back and forth from set to spend time with his fiancee Suki Waterhouse and their baby girl on the weekends. That’s very sweet, but I hope the actor is getting some good rest in between. He may feel Gen Z, but he’s not actually an eternal 17-year-old like his well-known Twilight character, and burn out is real.

However, I totally get trying to do the most while you are still young, and 2026 really is a huge year for him. I’m excited to see him and Zendaya debut as a new acting duo, considering she shares 3 of his major projects this year. The Drama will be the first to release, depicting Pattinson and Zendaya as an engaged couple whose relationship is put to the test when their wedding plans go awry. Based on the first Drama trailer alone, this movie definitely has the potential to be one of Robert Pattinson’s best films, so be sure to catch it when it hits theaters on April 3rd.

When it was announced in 2023 that Robert Pattinson was going to be a dad, of course, fans flashed back to his Twilight character Edward Cullen becoming a father. While the British actor has come a long way since the pop culture phenomenon, it’s possible that his baby may have already seen it. At 22 months old, Pattinson claims that his daughter has already been introduced to his filmography, and he’s got a funny reason for why she’s seen “many” of his movies.

Robert Pattinson in dad mode is the cutest thing. When he’s talked about his new baby, the Water For Elephants actor said being a dad makes you “feel very old and very young.” He continued to talk more to GQ about fatherhood making him not want to spend more than 10 days away from his baby, which is too adorable for words! Now, if you think that Pattinson is going to wait until his daughter is older to introduce her to his best movies, think again, as he said:

As the London native didn’t state which of his movies he introduced her to, I’m now all the more curious. Actually, I take that back. He did mention Mickey-17 (which is streaming with an HBO Max subscription) as one of the flicks. However, I have no idea if the actor is joking or not. I’d like to hope he was to avoid his daughter seeing her dad die a lot in the sci-fi flick. Sparkly vampires may be more pleasing to the eyes than that.

It may seem like a strange concept to show your baby girl movies that you need to be at least a teenager to watch. However, there’s a funny reason why Pattinson says he is showing his daughter his “many” movies early, and now I’m curious if other celebrity dads are doing the same thing:

So, would that be Robert Pattinson’s way of saying that making his kid watch his movies is a form of discipline? Well, the English entertainer did trash Twilight before. So, maybe presenting his little girl to his past superspeed vampire self will humorously show her not to mess with her dear old dad.

Robert Pattinson claiming to show his daughter his “many” movies may be a new age disciplinary tactic only a celebrity dad could pull off, but it must be better than a time-out. Now, seeing as he's starred in lots of movies targeted to an adult audience, hopefully, he’ll make a movie his kid can watch one day (maybe one where the scariest thing isn’t watching her dad repeatedly die).

Now, while his kid waits for that, older audiences out there can watch Pattinson's latest movie, Die My Love, on MUBI. And make sure to keep an eye on the 2026 movie schedule, because he has multiple releases (including The Odyssey and Dune: Part Three) coming that are not exactly toddler-friendly, but he might show them to her anyway.

Marty Supreme has emerged as a major title during this awards season, and it’s already landed some major honors. Directed and co-written by Josh Safdie, the Timothée Chalamet-led film is being praised for a myriad of reasons, and the casting is definitely a factor. Chalamet, Gwyneth Paltrow, Odessa A'zion, Tyler the Creator and Kevin O’Leary are among the main cast, and there are also other familiar faces present. Interestingly enough, it turns out Robert Pattinson also plays a character in the movie, and I never would’ve guessed it.

Generally, Pattinson is a recognizable star and easy to point out in a given film, even if his role is small and he only appears on screen briefly. Upon learning about his Marty Supreme role, though, I couldn’t recall ever seeing his face once throughout the movie. That’s actually because the British actor doesn’t physically appear at any point. Safdie revealed Pattinson’s inclusion during a London’s BFI Southbank and explained (via Variety) how he landed on the Batman star’s specific role:

To be more specific, Robert Pattinson voices the umpire that provides commentary during the British Open semifinals, where Marty Mauser competes early in the film. I probably would’ve never known Pattinson provided the voice of that umpire had Josh Safdie not said anything. What I also find funny is that Safdie decided to turn to his former collaborator for an assist, given the fact that he apparently doesn’t know many people from across the pond.

Pattinson previously worked with Josh and Benny Safdie on their 2017 film, the critically acclaimed Good Time. That fever dream of a film sees Pattinson playing a crook who tries to evade police after a botched robbery all while trying to bail out his developmentally disabled brother. It’s easily one of Pattinson’s best movies and, given his visceral turn as Constantine Nikas, I’d been itching to see him work with the Safdies again. While Pattinson’s Marty cameo is a welcome surprise, I’d prefer to see him do something more substantial in a movie helmed by a Safdie sibling.

There is still a lot to appreciate about the box office record-setting Marty Supreme, and it definitely tracks with Josh Safdie’s storytelling sensibilities. Set in the 1950s, it tells the story of professional table tennis player Marty Mauser, who seeks to rise above his working-class background and achieve success. In that pursuit, though, Mauser doesn’t mind screwing over a few people, though a number of viewers still find themselves rooting for the shifty protagonist.

While Timothée Chalamet leads the film in an impeccable way, the supporting cast, which may be distracting to some, is great. Robert Pattinson’s (uncredited) inclusion in the ensemble also makes for a great behind-the-scenes fact. Here’s hoping, however, that the beloved Pattinson can take on a bigger role in another film from one of the Safdies at some point down the road.

Marty Supreme is now playing in theaters nationwide and is also set to be available on video on demand services starting on February 3.

Jennifer Lawrence’s approach to nude scenes in her movies has been really refreshing over the last few years. The actress isn’t overly precious about her body, eating grilled cheese between takes on No Hard Feelings, and she even was OK filming lovemaking scenes while she was postpartum after the birth of her second baby. That was on her first day on the set of Die, My Love with Robert Pattinson, too! She’s literally said, ‘I don’t care about nudity’ in interviews and has a healthy relationship with her body as it’s changed over time. Which is why I was surprised to hear the actress does have one big preference when it comes to filming sex scenes.

In a varied interview at 92 NY, the actress opened up about why she really didn’t have a lot of trouble filming sex scenes with Pattinson, despite the fact they did them early on in production. In fact, it seems like it was a whole lot easier doing it before they got to know one another on set, with Lawrence explaining (via People):

She compared working with Rob to working with the pals she’d already known for a hot minute before things got romantic in The Hunger Games and Peeta and Katniss' two kiddos arrive. Her big preference? It's better if she doesn't know the guy well before they film anything sexy.

Luckily for her, things in the romantic department stayed pretty PG in the Hunger Games. There was too much death and drama happening to get much more than a few kisses in, then the movies –like the books– cut ahead to the ending in District 12 with Peeta and Katniss with their kids in the future. As Francis Lawrence said a the time, the series was about "comfort and trauma," no lovemaking required.

Lawrence clearly saw Hutcherson as a pal only, which would have made any lovemaking scenes harder, anyway, though it didn't do anything to combat those "secret relationship" rumors at the time.

Meanwhile, Jennifer Lawrence has already gotten really honest about her latest movie, and how the more “embarrassing” scenes in Die, My Love occurred when director Lynne Ramsey had her and the Twilight actor pretending they were tigers like sheer lunatics, a scene she’s likened to “interpretive dancing” before.

Yes, this movie sounds a bit wild, yes, critics can’t stop talking about Die, My Love, and yes, I am all in on seeing it now that it’s out on the 2026 movie schedule in limited release, Mubi, and VOD.

Kristen Stewart has shown in the decades since she became a star that she’s a great deal more than simply Bella from Twilight. That said, it’s unlikely that she’ll ever have another movie role that she will be more connected to than that one. While some might try to distance themselves from such a franchise, Stewart is ready to reembrace it, as she says she’ll happily direct a future Twilight remake.

Stewart recently made her feature film directorial debut with her new movie, The Chronology of Water. While walking the red carpet for the film at the Palm Springs International Film Festival Creative Impact Awards, she told EW that the movie she would most like to remake as a director would be the first Twilight movie. Stewart's already enjoying the idea of having a blockbuster budget to play with, saying:

I’m not exactly somebody with a serious dog in this fight. I only saw the first Twilight movie for the first time at a CinemaBlend Watch Party during the pandemic. That said, if I heard the first movie was being remade with Stewart as the director, it would, at the very least, leave me quite curious. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed much of Stewart’s recent work (the Charlie's Angels reboot was great, and I will die on that hill), and I'd love to see what she might bring to Twilight as both somebody with an intimate understanding of the material and a unique perspective on filmmaking.

While there would probably be more than a little backlash to the idea of remaking the Twilight movies from fans of the original franchise, a studio could do worse than to hire Kristen Stewart to direct that movie. It would almost certainly quell some of the fan outrage. I imagine a Stewart-directed Twilight would get all the love and support that she talks about here.

While the idea of remaining Twilight may seem crazy, the last of the movies starring Stewart and Robert Pattinson came out in 2012, just a year after the last Harry Potter film, and that franchise is currently filming its first season of a TV adaptation based on the same story. So the idea of a Twilight remake happening sooner than later is far from crazy.

The more Kristen Stewart talked about the idea, the more she seemed quite on board with the whole concept. While she was almost certainly having some fun, she indicated she’s now fully on board the remake train, saying…

While Stewart’s comments alone probably won’t spontaneously generate plans for a Twilight remake, it’s all but certain that day will come. When it does, there’s unlikely to be any reason not to consider her as a potential director.

It wasn’t always a forgone conclusion that Denis Villeneuve’s Dune series would be a trilogy, but thankfully, we are getting a third movie during the 2026 movie schedule. Dune: Part Three, as it’s simply titled, will be a continuation of the previous movies. Tickets for the movie went on sale in May, which means we're inching ever closer to the release of the conclusion of the trilogy.

The upcoming book-to-screen adaptation based on the second novel in the Dune series by author Frank Herbert, Dune: Messiah, is getting closer. We've seen the first trailer, and now a second trailer has dropped in July 2026. We know who is reprising their roles from the previous Dune movies, which you can catch with an HBO Max subscription, and who is joining the franchise. Here's everything we know about the movie.

When Will Dune: Part Three Be Released?

Warner Bros. has announced that Dune: Part Three will be released on December 18th, 2026. The movie was shot in IMAX, according to Variety, making this the first Dune movie to be filmed with the large-format cameras, though the other two were released in the format after post-production work.

In fact, because it was shot in IMAX, it appears to have an advantage going into opening week. You see, it's not the only big movie getting released on December 18th. Avengers: Doomsday is also dropping that very same day, setting up a fascinating duel at the box office that we rarely see these days.

A big part of that duel (which some fans have dubbed "DunesDay") will be which will be on the most IMAX screens, and it seems that, at least at the moment, Dune: Part Three has the advantage because it was shot in the format, and Doomsday was not. Recently, theater owners have bristled at both movies competing for audiences and screens, but no one appears to be budging, and tickets for select screenings of Dune Part Three in IMAX are now on sale.

The Dune: Part 3 Trailer

As is the case with any good trailer, there is a lot to unpack (blonde Robert Pattinson??), and a lot of questions that we probably won't have answers for until DunesDay. Are Paul and Chani really back together, because they were definitely NOT at the end of the last installment? If they are, where does that leave Princess Irulan (Florence Pugh)? Those are just the most basic questions!

A second trailer, which dropped in July, doesn't answer any questions either, of course, but we do get some fresh looks at a lot of characters.

Who’s In The Cast?

Much of the cast is returning from the first two movies, plus there are a few exciting additions to the cast.

Timothée Chalamet As Paul Atreides

Timothée Chalamet is returning as Paul “Muad'Dib” Atreides in Dune: Part Three. Chalamet led the first two movies as the central character in the Dune series, so of course, he’s back for this one. Since starring in Dune and Dune: Part Two, Chalamet’s star has only grown brighter, and it’ll be great to see him back in this role that I think he performed outstandingly.

In February 2026, Chalamet opened up about how excited he was to make this third movie after gaining more and more confidence after the previous two. He spoke with Matthew McConaughey at an event for CNN and Variety:

"Taking a big swing" is exactly what fans of the books want to hear, and it hopefully means big things for the adaptation.

Zendaya As Chani

Like Chalamet, Zendaya will be back reprising her role as Chani, Paul’s Fremen lover. While she had a pretty limited role in the first movie, she was a huge part of Part Two, and that will continue here.

Florence Pugh As Princess Irulan

CinemaBlend’s Eric Eisenberg theorized Robert Pattinson could be the character Scytale, and now, after the trailer, it's confirmed. Pattison appears with blonde hair in the trailer, and he looks as menacing as Scytale should. With the caliber of cast members that Dune has, a big name in the role is no surprise.

Anya Taylor-Joy As Alia Atreides

One of the most exciting additions to the cast is only sort of an addition. Anya Taylor-Joy appeared in Dune: Part Two, but mostly just her voice was heard, with a few fleeting images. Her character, Alia Atreides, Paul’s sister, was still in utero in the second movie of the trilogy. This time, she’ll have a full role to play, and it’s one of the best characters in the story.

Jason Momoa As Duncan Idaho

We won’t spoil too much here if you’ve never read Dune: Messiah, but yes, Jason Momoa will be back, and he’ll once again be playing fan-favorite Duncan Idaho (or, at least a version of him). Momoa was one of the most beloved characters in the first movie, just as he is among book fans, so it’ll be great to see him once again after he died in the first movie.

Josh Brolin As Gurney Halleck

Gurney Halleck, being played again by Josh Brolin, is one of the few characters we didn't see in the trailer (at least, one we could tell was definitely him). Gurney is a fan favorite, and it's hard to imagine anyone else in the role other than Brolin here.

Rebecca Ferguson As Lady Jessica

This is an interesting one because Lady Jessica, Paul’s mother, doesn’t really play a part in Dune: Messiah, but Rebecca Ferguson will be reprising her role. She teased a little about the part recently, saying it was a small role, but that “Denis had a little idea.” What that idea could be, I can’t wait to find out. She was wonderful as Jessica in the first two movies.

And finally, at least for now, we know that Paul's children, Leto II and Ghanima, will be played by Jason Momoa's son, Nakoa-Wolf Momoa, and Silo actress Ida Brooke, respectively. Charlotte Rampling will reprise her role of Reverend Mother Mohiam as well.

Dune: Part Three Is Based On The Book Dune: Messiah

For those who haven’t read the book, we’ll keep the spoilers light here. Dune: Part Three is based on the second book in the Dune series, Dune: Messiah, by author Frank Herbert. The book, published in 1969, is as well regarded by fans as the original Dune novel. It is set about 12 years after the events of Dune, and Paul is now emperor. That doesn’t mean all is well in the universe. In fact, Paul has unleashed something in the Fremen that even he can’t control, and it threatens everything.

Dune: Messiah is a shorter book than Dune, but Villeneuve will probably still have to make some serious decisions on what to cut. Given how enthusiastic he’s been about these adaptations, I think it’s fair to trust him on what is critical and what can get cut, but it’s going to be tough for fans of the book, no matter what he cuts.

Could There Be A Dune: Part Four?

We’re going to get a little ahead of ourselves here and start wondering about a 4th installment. The answer is murky, to say the least. For starters, Villeneuve’s next project after Dune: Messiah is the next James Bond movie. Bond 26 is loosely scheduled for 2028, so it’s unlikely that if there is a fourth film, Villeneuve will be directly involved.

That’s not to say it is impossible. There is plenty of rich story left to tell in the Dune universe (the original series is six books by Herbert), so a fourth is certainly possible, likely with another director at the helm. But let’s not get ahead of ourselves. We're only about months from being back in the Dune universe, and all will be right with the world.

Zendaya and Robert Pattinson are amongst the busiest stars in Hollywood, and their latest film has not been unveiled in its full (and stressful) glory. The two A-listers are set to headline The Drama, an upcoming film from A24. Up to this point, the movie had only been teased, but the first trailer has now officially been released. Based on the footage, this is a story about pre-marital jitters and how a couple is forced to deal with such issues. What I really wasn’t expecting, though, was to feel so stressed out after watching this teaser.

The Drama centers around young couple Emma Harwood (Zendaya) and Charlie Thompson (Pattinson) who are set to walk down the aisle. However, ahead of their big day the pair face some personal conflicts, which are sparked when one partner learns some dangerous secrets about the other. The manifestation of said situation seems to be pure chaos and awkwardness as teased in the video above. From that cringey pre-wedding interview to the actual big day, which sees Charlie with a bloodied face, this is going to be wild.

More than a few scenes stand out from this teaser, including the awkwardly tense photoshoot that Charlie and Emma take part in. The mere sight of Charlie trying to muster up a smile as the photographer attempts to direct him is downright cringeworthy. Even the brief shot of Emma stopping in the middle of the street as a car heads her way makes me worried. What also piques my interest are the brief glimpses of the actual wedding, which could be a wild affair in and of itself.

Please don’t misunderstand me when I call this new film from writer/director Kristoffer Borgli (whose last film was the acclaimed Dream Scenario) stressful or cringey. I mean all of that in the best way possible, as I’m indeed a fan of psychological cinema and anxiety-inducing films. At first glance, Borgli appears to be offering a case study of the potential breakdown of a romance, though I, of course, can’t say for sure that Emma and Charlie won’t end up tying the knot. In any case, I’m ready to check this film out, and I’m not alone.

The first true piece of marketing for Robert Pattinson and Zendaya’s film was released earlier this week, as she dropped a poster that looked like a candid photo of the lead characters. On Instagram, admirers took to the comments section of her post and practically swooned over the sight of the two lead actors playing a couple. Funny enough, The Drama won’t be the only entry from the 2026 movie schedule to feature both Zendaya and Pattinson.

Also, in 2026, both of the aforementioned actors will appear in the big-screen adaptation of The Odyssey, which is Christopher Nolan’s latest film. Not only that, but both stars will also appear in Denis Villeneuve’s Dune: Part Three, which recently wrapped filming.

So are Zendaya and Robert Pattinson now a package deal, or what? I can’t answer that question with complete certainty, but what I can say is that I’m excited to see what kind of drama (sorry, I had to do it) they get wrapped up in during the events of Kristoffer Borgli’s upcoming movie. Part of me thinks that after I see the film, I’ll have a somewhat different perspective on weddings and what typically precedes them.

The Drama opens in theaters on April 3, 2026. In the meantime, check out the 2025 movie schedule to learn about some other great titles that are still set to be released before the end of the year.

Robert Pattinson became a household name thanks to the Twilight franchise, and has been a bankable movie star in the years since. They say all publicity is good publicity, and I have to assume that the above photo quickly going viral was part of the plan to buoy excitement over The Drama. The movie's two stars are wildly popular, with fans invested in both their professional and personal lives. And if the comments section is any indication, folks are going to be heading to theaters to see the A24 title once its released in April.

Not all that much is known about The Drama, but it's being billed as a romantic comedy-drama. We'll follow a couple (played by Pattinson and Zendaya) just days before their wedding. But it sounds like there will be some undiscovered issues in their relationship. Will they actually make it down the aisle? Only time will tell.

Of course this upcoming title is just one movie that this pair of actors will be releasing in the near future. All eyes are on what Zendaya's Chani will be up to in Dune: Part Three, and fans are eagerly anticipating Pattinson's return as Bruce Wayne in The Batman Part II.

Robert Pattinson’s acting career has diverged far from Twilight in the nearly two decades since the modern-day vampire romance was first released. Yes, you heard that right, it has been 20 years since Stephenie Meyer’s Twilight book hit shelves and had Tumblr in a chokehold. Three years after the book climbed the bestseller lists, Robert Pattinson starred in the book-to-screen adaptation as the sparkling, yet sensitive vampire Edward. Many movies and years later, Twilight still remains one of the Mickey 17 actor’s most well-known films, and there’s one thing about the series that shocks him to this day.

In the years since the Twilight Saga ended, Pattinson has become somewhat of an indie darling. He’s recently been doing press for his new film alongside Jennifer Lawrence, Die My Love, which premiered earlier this month on the 2025 movie schedule. But even while promoting a new film, The Devil All The Time actor can’t escape his vampire roots, and he told Extra it still baffles him to hear that there’s still a highly active Twilight fanbase:

Some of the renewed interest has to do with the Twilight Saga being put on Netflix a couple of years ago. However, the new generation was definitely aware of Twilight’s cultural impact in the 2000s and 2010s, enough to press play.

Twilight also helped set into motion a whole era of peak YA book-to-screen adaptations (Divergent, The Hunger Games, The 5th Wave) and also assisted in the revival of the vampire genre (The Cullens walked so the Salvatores could run). Pattinson and Lawrence said they bonded easily for Die My Love because they had a lot in common, the most obvious being they both starred in two of the biggest YA movie franchises of this century, and will always be recognized for their roles as Edward in Twilight and Katniss in The Hunger Games.

However, not even the girl on fire could match the eternal teenager, with Lawrence admitting she almost didn’t sign on to The Hunger Games because the craze surrounding Twilight was so intense.

Lately, though, the High Life actor admitted his fanbase has seen a shift in demographic: it’s now a lot of guys, which I'm assuming is partially due to the fact that he’s the latest actor to make his mark as the famed DC vigilante Batman.

However, the millennial women and angsty teenage girls are always lurking, and the chances of a Twilight resurgence are high with the announcement of an animated Twilight adaptation from Lionsgate. While it’s still in the early stages, the show is to be based on Meyer's Twilight companion novel Midnight Sun, a retelling of the epic romance saga from Edward’s point of view.

While I would love to potentially see Pattinson return to voice his heartthrob character again, the other Cullens have revealed that Netflix, which picked up the project, is seemingly going in a new casting direction. Seeing as the Damsel actor would like to stay forever young, maybe he doesn’t mind the constant Edward chatter. Good thing, because it doesn’t look like it’s going away anytime soon.

In regards to Hollywood set history, all sorts of subplots have gone on behind the actual film being made. Every corner of the industry has something, from SNL’s iconic Cowbell skit to the crazy antics on horror flicks. Thankfully, there are plenty of pleasant anecdotes to counteract the zanier ones. It’s really kismet and lucky that the co-stars had something so bright to connect deeply over. That fact stands especially strong after Lawrence got candid about motherhood after the Cannes premiere.

In addition to the kiddo conversations being lovely and powerful anchors, I’m sure it helped Jennifer Lawrence and Robert Pattinson move past their first day on set awkwardness that included a dance lesson via their intimacy coordinator. I’m just so pleased for both of them having families, and talking about them while on set together, given the subject matter.

With that, the baby-forward chatter must’ve aided their performances because the buzz the title’s been receiving. The Hunger Games alum’s ‘unruly’ performance, for starters, has already garnered a lot of praise for her unpredictability and commitment. Pair that with Mubi, which distributed Coralie Fargeat's perfect body horror The Substance last year. But don’t forget Robert Pattinson’s been releasing hit after hit (and not even close to being done).

Mix it all together, and Die My Love is off to the races. Whenever I do brace myself to go see this, I know that I’ll be imagining Robert Pattinson returning to set after a weekend at home and filling Jennifer Lawrence in on all the fun the trio had. Mainly that's because I know that the loveliness behind the scenes will help me enjoy the dynamics onscreen more.

The Twilight movies returned to theaters last week in celebration of the book series’ 20th anniversary. There aren’t any more books to adapt from the novels, but there is reportedly an animated series coming to Netflix that's based on Midnight Sun. It’s not clear if Pattinson would only return to Twilight if the Safdies were behind it, but hearing his jokey reasoning for why he would come back is just purely hilarious. However, before anyone starts expecting Katniss Everdeen and Edward Cullen fanfic, perhaps you should take a look at what critics are saying about Die My Love, because Lynne Ramsay’s newest project tackles some heavy material.

Jennifer Lawrence and Robert Pattinson star in Die My Love as Grace and Jackson, who move from New York City to rural Montana and have a baby. Grace begins to struggle with loneliness and postpartum depression, leading to what looks like some intense and disturbing moments in the trailer. According to Sheila O’Malley of RogerEbert.com, Lynne Ramsay has created an “unrelenting fever dream” for us to experience what Lawrence’s character is going through. The critic rates the movie 3.5 out of 4 stars, writing:

Iana Murray of Empire gives Die My Love — a book-to-screen adaptation of Ariana Harwicz’s 2012 novel — 4 stars out of 5, saying it reaffirms Lynne Ramsay as one of our foremost observers of humanity. The film exudes a “feral energy,” Murray writes, elevated by Jennifer Lawrence’s no-holds-barred performance. The critic says:

Alissa Wilkinson of the New York Times warns that Die My Love is polarizing and some will find it infuriating. This critic, however, loves it (moreso, even, on repeat viewings) and calls it “career-defining” for Jennifer Lawrence. To see an actor take such a big swing and connect, Wilkinson writes, is the reason she goes to the movies. She continues:

Peter Travers of The Travers Take rates it 3 out of 4 stars, noting that while Lynne Ramsay lives to push boundaries, this one may push audiences too far. Still, despite the angst and the noise, Travers says this is a movie that needs to be seen, as Jennifer Lawrence takes huge risks and achieves “hallucinatory brilliance.” In other words:

Not everybody is going to be on board with Die My Love, and NPR’s Aisha Harris falls in that category. Timothée Chalamet is one of the biggest stars in the world right now, so it’s not necessarily shocking that he hangs out with other big movie stars. What is a little surprising is just how he finds himself hanging out with the likes of Robert Pattinson, because it’s probably not what you think.

Following a very busy period in Chalemet’s career that involved playing Bob Dylan in A Complete Unknown and starring the upcoming Marty Supreme, both movies which required a lot of outside training for the actor, he’s apparently had more downtime recently. It’s unclear what show they saw, but if it was really “out-there” like Chalamet said, one imagines the two had plenty to talk about. Of course, once the discussion about the play was over, topics probably shifted to work, as they often do. Still, these two probably had plenty to talk about.

Both men have high-profile awards season movies coming out. Pattinson’s Die My Love comes out this weekend, and is likely to get some attention, even beyond the fact that it contains “Katniss and Edward” on screen together. Chalamet’s contribution is Marty Supreme, and one wonders if it might be enough to earn him that Oscar that he very nearly won last time with A Complete Unknown.

Die My Love may not be a romantic film, but it still looks like it could be a great one. He's been ruling as Emperor, having accepted himself as Muad'Dib aka the messiah of the Fremen. Obviously he remains synonymous with his tenure as Edward in the Twilight saga, but is also the most recent live-action version of Batman. Unfortunately, it's going to be years before we see what Matt Reeves has planned for The Batman: Part II.

All will be revealed when Dune: Part Three hits theaters on December 18th of next year as part of the 2026 movie release list. Hopefully we get some information, including who Robert Pattinson will be playing, sooner rather than later.

Jennifer Lawrence may have served up one of the most bizarre celebrity dinner stories of the year, but it turns out Robert Pattinson isn’t mad about being her most unexpected guest. While promoting their 2025 movie release, the psychological drama Die, My Love, the Harry Potter alum was asked to weigh in on the now-viral “trash food” story that The Hunger Games veteran actress shared on The Graham Norton Show. His response? Classic Pattinson.

The two were on the red carpet for the premiere of Die, My Love when Pattinson was approached by Entertainment Tonight, who brought up Lawrence’s infamous tale of serving him food from her garbage can. He hilariously responded:

If you missed the original story, Lawrence recounted how the Tenet actor dropped by unexpectedly during a pajama-clad girls’ night. The actress panicked when he asked for food, realized she didn’t have any left, and—while he was in the bathroom—retrieved scraps from the trash. When he asked for seconds, she admitted the only food left was also in the trash. “I don’t mind,” he reportedly said, pulling it out himself.

This whole dinner party trash story is exactly the kind of deranged-yet-endearing story only these two could pull off—and it’s adding unexpected levity to an otherwise haunting press cycle. Die, My Love is far from light fare. The release follows the former teen icons starring together as the married couple, Grace and Jackson. The Mother! star’s character descends into postpartum psychosis while Pattinson plays her increasingly fractured partner. The pair have already made headlines for the film’s naked tiger-inspired dance scene, and Lawrence has been refreshingly candid about the physical and emotional toll of shooting it.

Still, off-screen, the pair are clearly enjoying each other’s company. The Longdon-born performer told ET that he was surprised at how easy it was to work with Lawrence. He said of working with her:

She’s not just an Oscar‑winning actress — she’s apparently such a talented cook that even her trash passes for a plated meal. The Twilight Saga actor couldn’t tell the difference, which may be the most unhinged of compliments his costar has surely ever received.

And the admiration goes both ways. In a previous interview, Lawrence joked about their friendship and dynamic, saying:

And as for the trash meal? Some fans (hi, I’m “some fans”) have already dubbed him “Trash Pattinson,” a nickname I’m all too happy to keep alive. Whether or not it becomes part of the film’s official promo push remains to be seen, but let’s just say there’s something oddly on-brand about the star of The Batman eating scraps and calling it gourmet.

Now, with Die, My Love set to hit theaters on November 7, fans can expect more offbeat chemistry from the duo—on screen and off. And if dinner plans are involved, maybe just check the trash first.

Jennifer Lawrence has always loved the tea, and that’s one of the things that fans love about her. She’s famously a Real Housewives fan and has gotten close with the Kardashians because of her love of their shows. Lawrence apparently took her dishy curiosity to a new level when she recently worked with Robert Pattinson, though. That's because the Oscar winner admitted to asking her co-star about Donald Trump tweeting about his 2012 breakup with Kristen Stewart.

The Hunger Games icon recently appeared on The Graham Norton Show, where she chatted about her new film with the former Twilight star, Die My Love. When asked if she and her scene-partner bonded over their shared history of being successful franchise actors, Lawrence revealed they didn’t really talk about it. However, she did confirm she asked him about the now-infamous tweets from the current President of the United States about his then-breakup. As seen in a video shared to the BBC's TikTok, Norton said:

For context, back in the early 2010s, co-stars Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart were in a relationship (which still draws interest today) during production on the Twilight films. This all seemed to go sideways when photos of Stewart kissing Snow White and the Huntsman director Rupert Sanders hit the tabloids.

This was a huge story at the time, and pop culture aficionados were riveted -- and that included Donald Trump, who tweeted not once, not twice, but eleven times about the cheating scandal. Amid his appeal, Trump urged Pattinson to end things with Stewart. The whole situation was garnered considerable buzz, and the optics are now even more interesting, given Trump's current position as Commander and Chief.

All of that aside, I love that Lawrence asked Pattinson about it, and I’d honestly be curious to know how he responded, considering Pattinson is famously very private about his personal life. However, the Silver Linings Playbook star never been afraid of asking personal questions, and even once asked Kim Kardashian while guest hosting Jimmy Kimmel Live! who her craziest ex was. Lawrence as historically always been open herself and seems like a fun, comfortable person to talk to (and maybe even share some gossip with). Of course, whether or not Pattinson was willing to be open about the cheating situation is unknown to the general public.

On the whole, this is a wild piece of pop culture history, especially considering how strangely invested President Trump was. Still, it’s kind of hard NOT to ask about it, so I probably would have done the same thing as Jennifer Lawrence. Kristen Stewart has addressed it over the years, and joked about it in her 2017 SNL monologue, so it would appear it’s not still a sensitive subject.

The Trump/social media situation aside, it seems Lawrence and Pattinson had a blast working together, whether it was Pattinson joining a gals-hang out, or reheating old tea. I can totally see these two having great chemistry, and I can’t wait to see it play out on the big screen.
