Audiences fell in love with the Pritchetts, the Dunphys and all of the branches of the Modern Family tree during the 11-season run of one of the all-time best sitcoms on ABC. After spending such a significant chunk of their lives together, it’s not hard to see how the cast would become like a real family, and it’s always nice to see them reunite. Julie Bowen met up with Sarah Hyland recently and may have inadvertently shaded Ariel Winter in the process.

Sarah Hyland, who played the oldest Dunphy daughter Haley on Modern Family, is currently portraying Connie Francis in Just in Time on Broadway. Her TV mom Julie Bowen had glowing praise after catching a performance and posted a photo of their backstage reunion to Instagram:

They certainly look like a happy mother-daughter duo, don’t they? I couldn’t help but notice something in her caption, though, as Julie Bowen wrote:

Now, I know for your real children, you’re really not supposed to have favorites — or, if you do, you shouldn’t say it out loud or post those thoughts on social media where the other, less-favorable children might see it. Does that rule stand for fake children, too? Because Sarah Hyland isn’t Julie Bowen’s only fake daughter, and I can’t help but wonder how Ariel Winter feels about this.

Ariel Winter played Alex, the brainiac Dunphy middle child, younger sister of Haley, older sister of Luke (Nolan Gould). This seems like a classic case of middle child syndrome to me, always getting forgotten or ignored. I find it doubtful that Julie Bowen actually meant to throw any shade toward Winter and was likely just really excited about Sarah Hyland’s performance.

However, this wouldn’t be the first time Ariel Winter got snubbed by her Modern Family family. Back in 2021, just a year after the longtime series came to an end, some of the members of her TV family came together for a mini-reunion. Sofia Vergara posted a pic of her, Sarah Hyland and Jesse Tyler Ferguson enjoying a picnic lunch, which prompted Winter to inquire about her and Nolan Gould’s invitations.

The Alex Dunphy actress, however, was present when much of the cast reunited for Sarah Hyland’s wedding, and I’d imagine in actuality Ariel Winter is just as proud of Hyland’s achievements in the theater as their TV mom is.

Five years have now passed since Modern Family aired its final episode, and the topic of a reboot, reunion or spinoff has come up plenty of times, most recently by Jesse Tyler Ferguson, who seemed to get a little jealous of Eric Stonestreet’s reunion with their TV daughter.

Only time will tell if we’ll ever see the Dunphys on our screens again to hash out this whole “best fake daughter” thing, but in the meantime, you can still stream all 11 seasons of Modern Family with either a Hulu subscription or a Peacock subscription.

Wells Adams may not have found love on The Bachelorette when he made his TV debut in 2016, but the fame he got from the reality dating show led to something even better — meeting Sarah Hyland. The Modern Family star shared some throwback photos in celebration of her and Adams’ third wedding anniversary, and her caption reveals one of the downsides to being a working couple in Hollywood.

Sarah Hyland and Wells Adams tied the knot on August 20, 2022 (after years of delays), at what was effectively a Modern Family reunion, and the actress shared a couple of images from their happy day to Instagram:

She included a sweet caption to her Bachelor in Paradise bartender husband, but there was a somewhat disappointing revelation in her message as she wrote:

I guess that’s a definite downside to having careers that involve inflexible filming schedules and lots of travel.

It’s unknown exactly what projects kept the lovebirds apart this year. Wells Adams can be seen serving up drinks and calling out douche-baggery on Bachelor in Paradise, whose 10th season is currently airing on the 2025 TV schedule. Sarah Hyland, meanwhile, wrapped up her latest Broadway role — Daisy Buchanan in The Great Gatsby — in June.

She wasn’t alone in marking the three-year milestone. Wells Adams also shared a slideshow of cute photos and videos from their adventures together, writing:

Sarah Hyland and Wells Adams started dating in 2017 after The Bachelor superfan slid into Adams’ DMs. They got engaged two years later in the summer of 2019 and planned to get married the next year. However, we all know how 2020 went, and the date was ultimately pushed back twice to ensure that they could safely celebrate their union with friends and family.

It was worth the wait for the former radio DJ, who once said on Bachelor in Paradise that he’d known he was going to marry Sarah Hyland since the first night the two hung out. He says she’s his “perfect person,” and I love seeing the sweet (and often funny) things these two have to say about each other.

Three years after “I do,” I think their love story is just as sweet, if not sweeter, than anything else we’ve seen come out of Bachelor Nation, but hopefully one of these years they’ll get to spend their day together!

Reality television fans who have been watching The Traitors on the 2025 TV schedule have been treated to some first-class entertainment on this deliciously “messy” season. However, one cast member who hasn’t gotten to enjoy any of that is Wells Adams, after he was the first to be banished from Season 3. While that’s got to be disappointing and possibly somewhat embarrassing, the Bachelor in Paradise bartender’s wife, Sarah Hyland, has a different take — she thinks it’s “great.”

The Modern Family alum stopped by The View, and the co-hosts couldn’t help but ask her about Wells Adams’ experience on one of the most bingeable shows on streaming. His stay in Alan Cumming’s Scottish castle may have been short-lived, but Sarah Hyland explained why she saw his early exit as a good thing, saying (via Deadline):

She makes a decent point here. While the Season 3 cast did think Wells Adams was acting a little weird prior to banishing him from the castle, that first roundtable vote is little more than a shot in the dark. There hasn’t been enough time for the Faithfuls to prove themselves or the Traitors to start slipping up, and we’ve seen season after season of innocent Faithfuls taking the fall in the initial banishments.

While one could understand why Wells Adams and Sarah Hyland might have hoped for a different outcome that allowed him to be more involved in the game, the Love Island USA host is proud of her man, saying:

It’s been tough for members of Bachelor Nation recently on other reality TV shows. While Arie Luyendyk Jr. and Peter Weber had quite a bit of success on their respective seasons of The Traitors — as well as Gabby Windey on Season 3 — Wells Adams kind of busted that tradition by being the first celebrity contestant eliminated. It’s reminiscent of Trista Sutter and Ali Fedotowsky’s early withdrawals from Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test after The Bachelor franchise had traditionally been so dominant.

Instead of whatever wise-cracking Wells Adams would have brought to The Traitors’ third season, we’ve seen Britney Spears’ ex-husband Sam Asghari being lowkey amazing at setting traps for Traitors, as well as Zac Efron’s brother Dylan and Survivor star Boston Rob in the bromance we never knew we needed.

Fans of the former Bachelorette contestant should be like Sarah Hyland and not feel too bad that Wells Adams’ latest stint on the small screen didn’t last. We’ll likely see him behind the bar again when Bachelor in Paradise returns for its 10th season later this year. For now just enjoy this sloppy AF season of The Traitors, with new episodes hitting Peacock each Thursday.

In case you missed it, the Philadelphia Eagles landed a victory against the Kansas City Chiefs during Super Bowl LIX last night as part of the 2025 TV schedule. And, unsurprisingly, fans of the team were celebrating, and even friends of Eagles devotees, including, like Sarah Hyland, got in on the hype. The Modern Family alum shared a photo of her pal, and major Philly fan, Quinta Brunson to add to the hype. And, while, Hyland's post was fun, Brunson's Abbott Elementary co-stars seemed to be living it up as well.

Sarah Hyland took to her Instagram stories to give Philadelphia native Quinta Brunson a big shout-out and show some love for the latest Super Bowl-winning team. Hyland shared a photo of Brunson with Swoop, the Philadelphia Eagles mascot. The Annie alum also reshared an X post, which congratulated only Brunson for the football victory. Hyland’s personal comments are simple and, and you can take a look for yourself below:

It's fun to see non-fans join in on the victory lap, as I just love seeing The Wedding Year performer chime in. The story post must is certainly a lovely gesture and totally understandable. After all, few celebrities seem to hype Philly like Quinta Brunson does. And, although Brunson is hyped, it seems like she isn’t the only Abbott Elementary cast member reveling in the big game’s outcome.

Co-stars Sheryl Lee Ralph, Lisa Ann Walter, William Stanford Davis and Tyler James Williams also took to social media to celebrate. While it seems that the Everybody Hates Chris star was at the game alongside Brunson, he still took a moment to post a simple message to his stories: “Go Birds (with an Eagle emoji).” Outside of the New Orleans Caeser’s Superdome, Ralph, who was was watching from (the beach), recapped the evening’s outcome in her reel. She rounded out the video saying the only way it could’ve been better was if she had been in the arena:

Between praising the Eagles’ defense, QB Jalen Hurts and restating the score, Sheryl Lee Ralph seems to be on top of the world. Watching the Super Bowl beachside and having your team come out on top sounds next-level incredible. (It almost makes me want to plan a mini vacation after one of my favorite teams goes all the way.)

Meanwhile, Lisa Ann Walter and Stanford Davis shouted out lots of love to Philadelphia institutions from the winning team to one of the city’s comedy clubs, Helium. The Parent Trap actress even noted that she’d been so into the showdown she’s lost her voice from cheering. Check out the duo below:

Davis and Walter seemed to be among friends at a Super Bowl party, where they soaked in the Eagles' 40-22 win against the Chiefs. The pair also noted that they were looking forward to reuniting with the rest of their cast to celebrate all over again, and I can’t wait for that content. Along with the Abbott cast buzzing about the game, the It's Always Sunny cast had fitting thoughts on Super Bowl happenings, and It’s a good day to be an Eagles fan (or a fan of the Philly fans and shows).

As for ABC's hit comedy series, there's plenty more to look forward to. Between the recent news of Abbott Elementary Season 5 confirmed and many interested stars wanting to appear on AE, it seems things are looking up. After her shoutout, I'd love to see Sarah Hyland return to the alphabet network to make an appearance on Abbott. And, if she doesn't, I'll continue to appreciate the lovely gesture she extended to Quinta Brunson.

Kelli Giddish

Kelli Giddish is best known for playing Law & Order: SVU's Detective Amanda Rollins as a series regular from 2011 - 2023, and she even took the character over to Law & Order and Law & Order: Organized Crime for crossovers. Her first role in the franchise was as Kara Bawson in a Season 8 episode of SVU in early 2007, however, followed by playing Dana Stipe in a Season 7 episode of Law & Order: Criminal Intent in late 2007.

Peter Scanavino

While Peter Scanavino has been playing Detective-turned-ADA Carisi on Law & Order: SVU since Season 16 in 2014, he got his start in the franchise as Robert Hassel in the first season of Trial by Jury in 2005, followed by playing Johnny Feist later that year on Criminal Intent. In 2013, he made his pre-Carisi SVU debut as Johnny Dubcek.

Camryn Manheim

Camryn Manheim's series regular gig in the franchise started with the Law & Order revival in 2022, and she spent three seasons as Lieutenant Kate Dixon. The lieutenant was Manheim's fourth character in Law & Order, however, as she appeared as Leila in Season 1 in 1991, Martha Rollins in Season 3 in 1993, and Beatrice Hines in Season 4 in 1994.

Diane Neal

Diane Neal joined SVU as a series regular in Season 5 in 2003 to play ADA Casey Novak. She would go on to become one of the Law & Order cast members who appeared in the most episodes by the time of her last installment in 2012. Her first episode was in Season 3 in 2001, though, when she played Amelia Chase.

Raúl Esparza

Franchise fans undoubtedly know Raúl Esparza best as ADA Rafael Barba, who he played on SVU for more than 100 episodes from 2012-2022 and would reprise for an SVU/Organized Crime two-parter. Years before debuting as Barba, he played Kevin Mulrooney in a 2009 episode of Criminal Intent and Dennis Di Palma in a 2010 episode of Law & Order.

Mehcad Brooks

Mehcad Brooks has been playing Detective Jalen Shaw on Law & Order since late 2022, when he joined the show to replace Anthony Anderson's Kevin Bernard. His franchise origin goes back to 2011, however, when he played Prince Miller in a Season 13 episode of SVU.

Jeremy Sisto

Jeremy Sisto may be best known in the nine-show Dick Wolf TV universe nowadays for playing Jubal Valentine across CBS' three FBI shows, but he was a series regular as Detective Cyrus Lupo for Law & Order's final three seasons before its initial cancellation in 2010. His first appearance in the show happened in Season 17 in 2007, when he played Clint Glover.

S. Epatha Merkerson

S. Epatha Merkerson may be most often found in NBC's One Chicago over the last decade thanks to her role on Chicago Med, but she's credited with nearly 400 episodes of Law & Order as Lieutenant Anita Van Buren, from 1991-2010. Her first character in the show was in the very first season, when she played Mrs. Denise Winters.

Jerry Orbach

Jerry Orbach's Lennie Brisco is arguably one of the franchise's most iconic detectives after nearly 300 episodes of Law & Order and another handful on SVU and Criminal Intent between 1991-2004, but you can first find him on the original Law & Order in the second episode of Season 2, where he played Defense Attorney Frank Lehrman.

Kevin Kane

Kevin Kane was promoted to series regular status on SVU for Season 26 for his role as Detective Terry Bruno, which he originated in Season 24. That wasn't his first SVU role, as he played Scott Ryland in Season 9 in 2008, Officer Greg Wilcox in Season 13 in 2012, Major Bowman in Season 17 in 2016, and Gary Kent in Season 20 in 2018. As if those aren't enough, he appeared in two episodes of Law & Order, first as Matt Preminger in 2002's Season 12 and then as a uniformed cop in Season 16 in 2005.

Jeffrey Donovan

Jeffrey Donovan helped launch Law & Order's 2022 revival as Detective Frank Cosgrove, who he played for Seasons 21 and 22 as a series regular. Fans can also find him much earlier in the series in other roles, first as Eddie Nicodos in Season 6 in 1995 and then as Jacob Reese in Season 17 in 2007.

Anthony Anderson

Anthony Anderson portrayed Detective Kevin Bernard for the last three seasons of the original run of Law & Order between 2008-2010, then reprised the role in the 2022 revival for one season. Before that, he played Detective Lucius Blaine in a memorable 2006 episode of Law & Order: SVU Season 7.

Tony Goldwyn

Law & Order introduced Tony Goldwyn as the new DA Nicholas Baxter in the second half of Season 23 in 2024 as the replacement for Sam Waterston's DA Jack McCoy. That wasn't his introduction into the larger franchise, however, as he played Frank Gorden across four episodes of Criminal Intent's sixth and seventh seasons, from 2007-2008.

Rick Gonzalez

Before Rick Gonzalez spent some time in the Arrowverse, he played Alfonso Cardenas way back in the very first season of Law & Order: SVU in 2000. More than twenty years later, he returned to the franchise to play Detective Bobby Reyes on Law & Order: Organized Crime, starting in 2022.

Dean Norris

Dean Norris kicked off a key role as Randall Stabler in Law & Order: Organized Crime's fourth season as the first of Elliot Stabler's siblings to appear on screen. His first franchise appearance happened more than a decade earlier, in the finale of the short-lived Law & Order: LA as Bob Kentner.

Betty Buckley

Betty Buckley is a Broadway legend, but she made the time to play two different characters over the years of Law & Order: SVU. Between Seasons 7-10, Buckley appeared in multiple episodes as Attorney Walsh. Starting in Season 23, she began playing Trial Division Chief Lorraine Maxwell, which she continued into Season 24.

Michael Trotter

Michael Trotter arrived on Law & Order: Organized Crime Season 4 to play the youngest Stabler brother. Before he debuted on OC in 2024, Trotter played Teddy Muncy in an episode of Law & Order: SVU Season 24 the previous year. In a fun bit of trivia, he's also married to former SVU series regular Jamie Gray Hyder.

Pedro Pascal

Pedro Pascal may be a big name in TV nowadays thanks to his lead roles in The Mandalorian and The Last of Us, but he made his rounds on the Law & Order circuit earlier in his career. He played Tito Cabassa in a Season 18 episode of Law & Order in 2008, visited Law & Order: Criminal Intent to play Reggie Luckman in Season 6 and Kip Green in Season 8, and dropped by Law & Order: SVU to play Agent Greer in Season 12.

Bradley Whitford

Following the end of The West Wing, Bradley Whitford arrived in the one and only season of Law & Order: LA to play Attorney Miklin in 2011. His two roles on SVU are more memorable, as he played a criminal named Frank Maddox in Season 15 back in 2014 before returning in Season 24 in 2023 to play the ailing husband of a victim in an episode directed by Mariska Hargitay.

Sarah Hyland

Sarah Hyland appeared in three different franchise shows as four characters, all before landing her part in Modern Family. Her first role was as Lily Ramsey in the Season 3 premiere of SVU in 2001, followed by playing Kristine McLean in Law & Order Season 15 in 2004. That was followed by Brianne Colby in Trial By Jury Season 1 in 2005, and then by Jennifer Banks in Season 10 of SVU again in 2009.

Cynthia Nixon

Cynthia Nixon won the Emmy for Outstanding Guest Actress in a Drama for playing Janis Donovan in the Season 9 premiere of SVU in 2007. That was only one of her three characters in the franchise, as she played Laura Di Biasi in Law & Order's first season in 1990 and Amanda Rollins (who is not the same as the SVU character) on Criminal Intent in Season 10 in 2011.

Ellen Pompeo

Before she landed her longtime role as Meredith Grey on Grey's Anatomy, Ellen Pompeo appeared as two characters on Law & Order. She played Jenna Weber in a Season 6 episode in 1996, followed by Laura Kendrick in Season 10 in 2000.

David Harbour

Prior to joining Stranger Things, David Harbour appeared as five different characters in Dick Wolf's TV franchise. First was Mike in a 1999 episode of Law & Order, followed by Terry Jessup in a 2002 episode of SVU''s fourth season, which he then followed by playing Wesley John Kenderson in Criminal Intent Season 4 in 2008, Jay Carlin in Law & Order Season 18 in 2008, and then finally Paul Devildis in Criminal Intent Season 8 in 2009.

Paget Brewster

Criminal Minds' Paget Brewster found time for another network TV crime procedural with two characters across three installments of Law & Order: SVU. First, she played Sheila Tierney in a Season 8 episode that aired on NBC in 2007, followed by two episodes of Season 14 in 2012 as Bureau Chief Paula Foster.

Allison Janney

Before she became an Emmy winner for the first time with The West Wing in 2000, Allison Janney was a repeat actor on Law & Order in the '90s. Her first episode was as Nora in the second season in 1992, followed by Ann Madsen in the fourth season in 1994.

Jeremy Allen White

Prior to joining Shameless and more than a decade before The Bear, Jeremy Allen White appeared in two consecutive seasons of Law & Order as two separate characters, starting with playing Jeremy in 2007 and then Andy Steel in 2008. In 2010, he moved over to SVU to play Michael Parisi in Season 11.

Paul Wesley

Ahead of his debut as a Salvatore brother in The Vampire Diaries, Paul Wesley landed a role as Danny Burrell in the Season 2 premiere of SVU in 2000, followed by playing Luke Miller in Law & Order: Criminal Intent Season 2 in 2002. Then he headed back to SVU in 2005 to play Luke Breslin in an early Season 7 episode.

Hayden Panettiere

Hayden Panettiere's name may be more synonymous with Heroes and Nashville than anything else, but she can be found in two episodes of SVU earlier in her career. First, she was Ashley Austin Black in a Season 2 episode in 2001, followed by a return to play Angela Agnelli in Season 6 in 2005.

Pablo Schreiber

While it's safe to say that Pablo Schreiber's most memorable Law & Order role was as William Lewis on SVU from Season 14-15, that certainly wasn't his only part. He previously played Dan Kozlowski in an SVU Season 8 episode in 2007, as well as Sean Hauser and Kevin Boatman in Seasons 16 and 19 (respectively) of Law & Order, and TJ Hawkins and Ed Lang in Seasons 4 and 7 of Criminal Intent.

Ann Dowd

Better known now for The Handmaid's Tale, Ann Dowd may hold the record for the most characters in the Dick Wolf franchise. On Law & Order, she played Teresa Franz in Season 1, Dorothy Baxter in Season 4, Patricia Smith in Season 6, and Dr. Beth Allison in Season 14. On Criminal Intent, she played Laurie Manotti in Season 4. For Trial by Jury, she played Karen Ames in Season 1. On SVU, she played Louise Durning in Season 2, Sally Wilkens in Season 4, and Lillian Siefeld in Season 10.

Chandra Wilson

Future Grey's Anatomy star Chandra Wilson arrived in the Law & Order franchise in 1992 to play Serena Price in the original show's second season. A decade later, she came to SVU as Nurse Jenkins in Season 4 and then returned in Season 7 in 2005 as Rachel Sorannis.

Elizabeth Mitchell

Lost's Elizabeth Mitchell appeared in two memorable episodes of Law & Order: SVU. She first portrayed Andrea Brown in a Season 4 episode that aired in 2003. She returned nearly ten years later in 2011 to play June Frye in a Season 12 episode.

Ariel Winter was a fixture in primetime for a decade thanks to her role as Alex Dunphy on Modern Family, but bringing the laughs on ABC didn't mean she couldn't deliver in a dramatic show. Case in point: Law & Order: SVU, which featured the actress as a guest star in a Season 21 episode back in 2019. Recently, the franchise's social media pages have been calling back to her performance as "next level," and revisiting that episode (available streaming with a Peacock Premium subscription) led me to discover just how many Modern Family vets have appeared on SVU.

Ariel Winter In Law & Order: SVU Season 21

Ariel Winter appeared in the second episode of Season 21 of SVU, called "The Darkest Journey Home," back in October of 2019. The actress sported a different look than she usually did as the bespectacled and dark-haired Alex Dunphy, and it was a look she once again sported following the end of Modern Family. She played Raegan, a young woman who was attacked and needed Benson's help in putting her memories back together and catching the men responsible. It was a great episode back in 2019, and the Law & Order Instagram page made sure to remind followers of that recently:

Raegan's storyline was quite dark compared to what Ariel Winter would perform on Modern Family, but it's no surprise that she was eager to join Mariska Hargitay on the long-running drama for an episode. Speaking with EW before her episode aired, she shared:

While most SVU fans likely can't relate to Winter living the dream of getting the opportunity to guest star, I think plenty can relate to becoming a fan of the show thanks to USA airing mega SVU marathons! She's also only one of the Modern Family Dunphys to come to the Law & Order franchise, although she's definitely the most recent.

Other Modern Family Vets On SVU

Ariel Winter is in fact one of four former Modern Family stars to appear on Law & Order: SVU, with one of her on-screen family members actually playing more than one character on the same show opposite Mariska Hargitay.

Sarah Hyland, who played Hailey Dunphy for all eleven seasons of Modern Family (which you can revisit streaming with a Hulu subscription), made her SVU debut back in the Season 3 premiere in 2001, called "Repression." She returned in the Season 10 episode called "Hothouse" in 2009, playing a different character. She would also appear in Law & Order and Law & Order: Trial By Jury for good measure before landing her sitcom role.

Ty Burrell, a.k.a. Phil Dunphy, guest-starred on SVU in Season 3's "Execution," which aired in 2002 as part of the same season as his future on-screen daughter's first episode. He would also play two different characters on the original Law & Order between 2000-2003.

Finally, Julie Bowen appeared in a 2008 episode of SVU just one year before she'd begin her long run as Claire Dunphy. Her episode was called "Trials" and was the Season 10 premiere, also featuring Beverly Hills, 90210 alum Luke Perry.

Fortunately, it's not hard to find any of those episodes if you're in the mood to see the Modern Family stars in roles other than the Dunphys, as SVU streams on both Peacock and Hulu. NBC has also announced the fall premiere date for Law & Order: SVU Season 26, where it will air as part of the network's Law & Order Thursdays in the 2024 TV schedule.

Anytime actors take on TV roles for upwards of a decade and beyond, it’s pretty much a guarantee that fans are going to continue wanting to see those characters back on the small screen forevermore. Such as it goes for the giant ensemble from Modern Family (one of CinemaBlend’s best sitcoms ever), which bid farewell to viewers in 2020 after eleven seasons, as Jesse Tyler Ferguson’s recent set photo tease to fans has now been followed up by co-star Sarah Hyland’s comments about a potential return to playing Haley Dunphy.

What Sarah Hyland Wants From A Modern Family Revival

Obviously, until execs from ABC or Disney+ rise up to publicly make the call to order another season of Modern Family proper (or a more targeted spinoff), there's no reason to get too excited about the prospects. But considering how many Modern Family-related happenings have occurred in 2024 so far, Sarah Hyland's comments to People hold far more weight than they might have in any previous year.

While on hand at the 2024 Drama Desk Awards, Hyland seemed only too positive about the idea of reprising her biggest TV role to date, albeit with the understanding that it isn't a total stinker of a project. In her words:

A solid answer, and one that expands on ideas that she's voiced in the past, which could easily indicate that she's thinking about the prospect more and more. Or it could just mean that people are asking her about it more often, and she needed a pleasing go-to answer. But the latter is too cynical for anyone in that family but Alex.

More specifically, Hyland has spoken out about not being 100% pleased with Haley's storyline in the final seasons, in that the creative team wound up limiting her character arc somewhat by having her get pregnant with twins, which led to an abundance of "frazzled new mom" side-plots, rather than anything that played into Haley's creative energies. (Not to mention the idea that Hyland wound up gaining 20 lbs. to physically match up with the pregnancy arc.)

The takeaway here, to anyone listening, is that Haley better darned well have her professional goals on the front burner if Modern Family ever returns to TV in any shape or form. Because if it's not something hinging on Haley's creative side, the former Love Island host might not be too enthused.

All that said, Hyland does sound completely behind the prospect of reuniting with her former co-stars for any reason, whether it's an official TV return or not. Saying she adores the cast "with my entire heart and soul," she continued:

For all that we'd probably enjoy watching an unscripted series that followed Sarah Hyland, Wells Adams, Jesse Tyler Ferguson and Justin Mikita globetrotting in vacation mode, maybe that can be the companion series for an official Modern Family revival.

How Jesse Tyler Ferguson Already Got Modern Family Fans Hyped

First, let's not forget that early 2024 featured a full-on reunion from Modern Family's elite during the Screen Actors Guild Awards in February. And then Jesse Tyler Ferguson took Julie Bowen with him to see Lily actress Aubrey Anderson-Emmons' performance in her high school musical The Theory of Relativity.

So it was to an already eager fanbase that Ferguson shared an Instagram Story in late May that showed the staircase, rug and front door of the Dunphy family household, with the following caption over the image:

It wasn't entirely clear whether the actor was sharing an old pic that he'd stumbled across on his phone, or if. he was actually standing within a still-erected Modern Family living room set. The latter would obviously be far more exciting for those anticipating its return down the line, which only makes Sarah Hyland's comments all the more interesting. Now what do Cam, Phil and Claire have to say about all this?

Since its release in 2009, Modern Family has remained one of ABC’s most popular series because of its honest, funny, and extremely relateable takes on diverse family life. So it’s not surprising there's still talk about possible reunions and spinoffs years after the show's ending. Sarah Hyland isn’t necessarily in a rush to return to her role of Haley Dunphy, but for a pretty good reason. When speaking on the top recently, the actress made it sound like she's interested in her character getting more experience-based development.

Hyland was a major player throughout all 11 seasons, essentially growing up alongside her character. Audiences witnessed all Haley's best and worst moments, cheering her on as she matured into a hard-working woman and doting mother, right up until her pleasing and logical conclusion (even if it didn’t feel as complete as we’d have liked). So, when she was asked by Variety about possibly wanting a Modern Family follow up any time soon, it makes sense that she didn’t initially provide a definitive answer, saying:

Which makes total sense! Hyland invested a chunk of her life into playing Haley, so of course she’d want to know the full extent of a follow-up project's scop before deciding if it’s worth moving forward. She continued, making it clear she’s not only thinking of developing Haley’s story more as a way to seek closure for herself, but she also wants audiences to really be satisfied with how Haley’s life is turning out. As she put it:

For those who haven't watched or are forgetting where Modern Family closed out, wife and mother Haley was just starting her career as an editor at a lifestyle company, NERP, known for selling ridiculous items like expensive socks and crystals. Even though it was great to see her struggles in creating her own small, loving family, Hyland is right in thinking Haley had the potential for bigger creativity-centered arcs. I could’ve imagined her creating her own clothing brand, overseeing a major company, or even becoming a head honcho in marketing.

Taking Hyland’s character further would also mean an opportunity to create more meaningful storylines for rest of the Modern Family cast. It’d be great to see how the strong-headed Lily adapted to Missouri life with proud papas Cam and Mitch supporting her passions and goals. Even though Jay Dunphy enjoyed one of the better endings (it actually made me tear up), I still want to know if he kept his promise to Gloria and Manny, and how else he leveled up his fatherly efforts. The opportunities are endless here, and I’d be excited to see a spinoff laying out how each character evolved.

Unfortunately, for fans, a Modern Family reunion won’t be part of the 2024 TV schedule or beyond, at least not yet. If one were to happen though, I’m totally fine with waiting for it until show runners got things perfectly right. In the meantime, if you’re looking to take a trip down memory lane with the hilarious blended family, you can watch Modern Family with a Hulu subscription. Be sure to set some time aside, because once you dive back in, you won’t want to rewatch just one episode!

The sixth season of Love Island USA is coming for those with Peacock subscriptions, and there’s no indication that fans should expect a lack of sunshine, swimsuits and swapping partners when the reality series returns. Will will be missing, however, is the familiar face of now-former host Sarah Hyland, who was revealed to be exiting her duties after two seasons. But it sounds like that news broke before the Modern Family vet was ready.

Hyland took to Instagram after the initial departure news broke to share a more direct message with fans who were probably hoping that the news wasn’t legit. Here’s how she put it in her Stories post:

Fans were aware that Season 6 was on the way, as Love Island posted casting calls near the end of 2023, but without any clear indications that the new contestants would have a whole new host leading the charge. However, TMZ went public with their report, and it would have been impossible to put the cat back in the bag after that, and Hyland thankfully confirmed the news without keeping her fans and followers in the dark.

Hyland, who was called "disrespectful" by some fans during the Season 5 finale, doesn't seem to be at odds with anyone behind the scenes of Love Island USA, so it's feasible that she could still return to the series in some fashion in the future, even if it's not as a full-time host. She seems to be quite invested in this world, similar to her hubby Wells Adams being a fixture within Bachelor Nation, so let's not count her out completely just yet.

Can't wait to hear more about that new project, too. Pretty sure it won't be a Modern Family reunion (either televised or privatized), but that would certainly justify making it the occupational preference once scheduling conflicts came up. Considering she loves Disney World so much, and has been seen with bestie Vanessa Hudgens recently, I'll casually toss out the hope that Hyland's new project incorporates both of those elements.

As far as Sarah Hyland's replacement goes, Vanderpump Rules star Ariana Madix has been tapped to take over hosting duties for Season 6. The Dancing with the Stars vet spent much of 2023 embroiled in the Scandoval fiasco invovling her ex Tom Sandoval, but is clearly keeping busy these days, having also hit the stage for Chicago performances on Broadway. Not to mention filming Vanderpump Rules' follow-up season.

Ariana Madix will be the third host of Love Island USA, with Hyland having replaced Arielle Vandenberg. And she's not exactly a stranger to the franchise. Madix appeared during an episode in the middle of the fifth season, and while it didn't seem so prophetic at the time, it now feels like fate led us all here.

It’s no secret that Sarah Hyland loves Disneyland. The actress frequently makes trips to the parks and even spent her 33rd birthday at the infamous Club 33. Similarly, Disney Channel alumni and soon-to-be mom Vanessa Hudgens is also a big fan of the location. So it’s no surprise the pair decided to spend the day together at the Happiest Place on Earth. However, what truly seems to have fans talking is a certain Modern Family callback.

Fans learned of the fun friend date when Sarah Hyland posted an Instagram carousel of pictures showing off how much fun she was having with Vanessa Hudgens and the rest of the group. They took photos in front of the iconic Sleeping Beauty’s Castle and a fun shot in the evolving Mickey's ToonTown. However, it was Hudgens’ shoe choice that had fans in the comments going wild, as they wondered if it was a reference to one of the best Modern Family episodes. Take a look:

In almost all of the eight photos shared by the actress, the High School Musical star, who had a beach wedding last year, can be seen wearing Minnie Mouse-themed slippers that are sold in the park. Fans were so distracted by the interesting choice of footwear, that they didn’t even comment on how much fun the ladies seemed to be having. More specifically, they were pointing out the potential nod to the episode of the long-running ABC comedy titled "Disneyland," in which its fan-favorite family heads to the eponymous resort. If you haven't seen Modern Family or aren't a super fan like all of the people flooding Sarah Hyland's comment section, then let me explain. During Season 3, the entire family heads to the Disneyland Resort for a day of bonding. Never one to be without heels, Gloria (Sofia Vergara) decides to wear her trademark stilettos to the park despite Jay (Ed O'Neill) trying to talk her out of it. 

As the day progresses, Gloria's feet start to hurt, but she's too stubborn to admit her mistake to Jay. Instead of pressuring her to come clean, Jay heads over to a shop and buys her a pair of Minnie Mouse slippers so her feet stop hurting. You can check out the Disneyfied kicks in the still below:

Whether or not The Princess Switch actress did it deliberately to callback to the show or if they really are that comfortable, remains to be seen. However, fans don’t really seem to care either way. Regardless, it seems like this duo had the best time and, as a Disneyland fan myself, I’m jealous!

Walt Disney World is the most magical place on Earth, and for many people, it is their favorite place in the world to be. We can count Modern Family’s Sarah Hyland among that number. The young actress spent the weekend at Vacation Kingdom with some friends, and I am obsessed with pretty much all of these pictures, but none more so than her Tower of Terror shot.

In the fantastic gallery that Sarah Hyland posted to Instagram is a pic of her and her friends on the Twilight Zone Tower of Terror. When VIPs visit Disney World they tend to get ride vehicles to themselves, so there are plenty of empty seats here, making the people very clear. We have the people screaming in terror and covering their faces, and then we have Hyland and her husband Wells Adams making out in the back. It’s a true work of art.

I love this picture because honestly getting that pose just perfect like that is harder than it looks. Posing for ride photos is a skill that takes practice and determination. And of course, seeing two people making out while others scream in fear around them just makes the whole thing that much more perfect.

But the Tower of Terror picture isn’t even the only one here that’s great. The first picture shows Sarah Hyland with the group of friends that went to Disney World with her. But they let the Plaid, the Disney World Cast Member who is acting as the group’s tour guide get in the picture with them, which is just awesome. Also, the group dined at Club 33, which makes me infinitely jealous as the Disney Parks exclusive Club 33 is one of the places I still haven’t found a way into. And this wasn't even Hyland's first time at a Club 33.

And now I want to go back to Magic Kingdom because seeing Sarah Hyland’s picture and comments about Disney World fireworks reminds me that I haven’t seen Happily Ever After in over a year and I just need to get back there. Disney World fireworks are almost always great, but Happily Ever After is one of the best nighttime spectaculars ever.

Wells Adams, also posted images from the trip, including a few additional looks at some of Disney World’s newest attractions like Tron: Lightcycle Run and Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind. 

I totally understand why Sarah Hyland calls Disney World her favorite place on earth. My favorite place on earth tends to be whatever theme park I happen to be in, but Disney World is truly in a class by itself. It’s not just a theme park but an experience, a place where you can truly leave the rest of the world behind.  

As Vanessa Hudgens celebrates turning 35 this week, the High School Musical star has a lot to be grateful for. For one, the actress just got married a couple of weeks ago to her partner of three years, Cole Tucker, in Tulum, Mexico. Her bestie Sarah Hyland wished Hudgens a happy birthday with rare wedding photos from the big day. They are so gorgeous! 

The Modern Family star and Vanessa Hudgens met at Coachella over a decade ago and have been each other’s “ride or die,” as Hudgens has described to People, pretty much ever since. As Vanessa Hudgens turned 35 on December 14, Sarah Hyland took to Instagram to share these beautiful wedding photos: 

Hyland went on social media to wish her friend a happy birthday and called Hudgens “the most magical, kind, silly, smart, and talented woman" while she was at it, along with her “sister witch.” In the photos taken on Hudgens’ wedding day, the pair can be seen smiling at one another while on a picturesque beach. In another photo a few slides down, fellow actors Alexandra Shipp and Morgan Marcell are also pictured looking gleeful with Hudgens as she became the wife to professional baseball player Cole Tucker. 

Hyland was previously part of Vanessa Hudgens’ spooky bachelorette party, which took Hudgens and her friends, including Shipp and Marcell, along with her sister Stella Hudgens and other gal pals, to Aspen, Colorado to celebrate the coming eternal death of her singledom. When Hyland got married to Well Adams in 2022, Hudgens was also featured in her wedding as a bridesmaid. 

Hudgens and Tucker met in a Zoom meditation group led by Jay Shetty in October 2020 before getting engaged by the Eiffel Tower in Paris in February 2023. The pair got married at the Azulik City of Arts in Tulum, Mexico on December 2. As she told Vogue, she flew out to the venue amidst filming the forthcoming Bad Boys 4 with Will Smith and Martin Lawrence, which is set to be among upcoming 2024 movies. 

While the actress was initially worried about having her wedding “45 minutes into the jungle” after finding the venue, when she visited the location, she knew it was where she wanted to get married. The Sagittarius best friends have both been living up lately, and seem to really genuinely support each other in their lives. How sweet! 

Despite Modern Family being off the air for a few years now, Sarah Hyland is staying booked and busy. For one thing, the actress spent the summer hosting the Peacock reality series Love Island USA. Amidst the reality series drama, she also found time to honor her own love story, celebrating one year of marriage to her husband Wells Adams. The recently-turned 33-year-old also just celebrated her birthday at Disneyland, and as a Disney fan myself, I can’t help but be a little bit jealous.

Those included her and Adams on the balcony outside, as well as the standard photo on the staircase leading up to the famous dining room. She also slipped in a photo of the menu, which included a special happy birthday wish. 

Dining in wasn’t the only thing she was up to, though. Hyland also posted a picture of herself with what appeared to be a gift bag from the gift shop. Merchandise from Club 33 is even better than the meal if you ask me! After all, a meal is over in a few hours, but you can cherish Disney ears and bags for the rest of your life!

But the basics are this: it’s an exclusive location inside Disneyland that only a select few get to visit. Club 33 membership is pricey, and it's rumored that there is a waiting list for years long to even join. 

For a long time, it was the only place on the Disneyland property that served alcohol, though that has changed since the reopening of the park after the COVID-19 shutdown. Still, Club 33 remains a mystery and bucket list item for frequent Disneyland visitors. Thankfully, you don’t have to shell out thousands of dollars to get a glimpse, you just have to know somebody who has a membership. That's obviously easier said than done, but at least there’s some hope for us! 

Every October, your favorite celebrities go completely all out for Halloween, whether it be for star-studded parties, social media splendor or for the simple pleasures of playing dress up on their own terms. From Megan Fox and Machine Gun Kelly’s incredible couple costumes, to Florence Pugh embracing her Guy Fieri hair, celebrities went off for 2023 Halloween celebrations. 

This is an odd year for celebrities and Halloween considering SAG-AFTRA actually discouraged actors from dressing up as movie characters amidst the ongoing actors strike. However, that certainly didn’t stop big names from doing the most for the spooky holiday. Check them out: 

Keke Palmer as The Bride of Frankenstein 

2023 has been a particularly big year for Keke Palmer since she recently welcomed her first child in February with boyfriend Darius Jackson. 10-month-old Leodis Andrellton Jackson had an epic first Halloween as the Doctor Frankenstein to Palmer’s incredible Bride of Frankenstein costume. The mother and son went all out with a black-and-white photoshoot playing homage to the 1935 classic. That’s not all Keke Palmer did though; she also channeled Disney’s Life-Size by dressing up as Tyra Banks’ Barbie-esque character on Instagram.

Midsommar and Don’t Worry Darling star Florence Pugh has been rocking bleach blonde short hair as of late, which made for the perfect opportunity for her to be the Mayor of Flavortown this Halloween! The Oscar-nominated actress put on a fake beard and yellow sunglasses alongside A Good Person co-star Zoe Lister-Jones. 

The Riverdale Gals as The Gotham City Sirens 

Riverdale may be over following its series finale over the summer, but the ladies from the long-running show are still besties. After Lili Reinhart, Camila Mendes and Madelaine Petsch channelled the Hocus Pocus witches last year, the trio went as the Gotham City Sirens this Halloween. Mendes was Catwoman, Petsch was Poison Ivy and Reinhart went for a classic Harley Quinn costume.

Speaking of Western themes and Barbie, “What Was I Made For?” singer Billie Eilish stepped out on Halloween weekend as Jane Fonda’s character Cat Ballou from the 1965 movie Cat Ballou. It’s a deep cut to say the least, but Eilish absolutely killed it as the throwback outlaw character. 

Paris Hilton as Britney Spears 

Paris Hilton paid tribute to her friend Britney Spears by wearing her most famous music video looks. The pop culture sensation showed up to the 2023 Annual Casamigos Halloween Party wearing the “Toxic” getup Spears memorably wore in the 2004 music video for the hit song. She posted the look on her Instagram with the caption “in honor of our Queen.” It’s perfect timing too considering Spears’ viral memoir recently hit shelves. 

Hayley Kiyoko and Becca Tilley as Glinda and Elphaba

“Lesbian Jesus”/pop singer Hayley Kiyoko and The Bachelor’s Becca Tilley went with a classic Hollywood duo in the Wicked Witch of the West and Glinda the Good Witch costumes. The couple clearly were having a blast embodying the Wicked women this Halloween as they shared this video of themselves in costume to the sound of “Popular.” Last year, they dressed up as Scooby Doo’s Velma and Daphne, and The Addams Family’s Morticia and Gomez Addams. 

Lizzo as Tina Turner 

Lizzo is a huge fan of Halloween, often dressing in multiple costumes in one year. So far, the “Good As Hell” singer paid tribute to the late Tina Turner, who died at the age of 83 in May. The Queen of Rock n’ Roll is undoubtedly an influence to the hitmaking artist and “bop star.” Lizzo also dressed up as Elvira on Instagram, and we wouldn’t be surprised if she throws in another costume before the end of spooky season.

Pop singer, actress and sister to The Little Mermaid’s Halle Bailey took inspiration from George R.R. Martin’s beloved fantasy world of Game of Thrones for her costume. Chloe looked gorgeous in an armored corset and dragon eggs as the Mother of Dragons, Khaleesi.  

Kendall Jenner as Marilyn Monroe 

Kendall Jenner went for a more simple, but certainly sweet look as the one and only Marilyn Monroe this year for Halloween. Jenner effortlessly channeled the Hollywood legend in a blonde curly wig, diamond earrings, a gorgeous face of makeup and a black turtleneck. She definitely nailed her likeness!  

Kourtney Kardashian and Travis Barker as Beetlejuice and Lydia 

Kendall’s sister, Kourtney Kardashian went for a Halloween favorite alongside husband Travis Barker this year. The married couple went as Beetlejuice and Lydia in her iconic red bride outfit, and it’s so on point! 

Justin And Hailey Bieber as Bam Bam And Pebbles 

Another solid Halloween celebrity couples costume moment comes from the Biebers, who went as Pebbles and Bam Bam from The Flintstones. They even posed with their pups for a Halloween photoshoot, and it was too cute.

Now Hudgens' recent posts has fans questioning whether Hudgens is already a married woman and these are her wedding photos, but her husband would need to be in the photos if it was! Plus, a couple days prior to the photo dump, Hudgens shared this video about her bachelorette weekend in Aspen, Colorado that included a sneak peek of the iconic black and white outfits. 

Hudgens was wearing white all weekend as she partied with her best friends, and it looks like it was so much fun! You gotta love when brides inject their own personality in their wedding celebrations, and this party look was an absolute serve. Now we’ll have to wait and find out if she gets married on Halloween! 

Aside from Hudgens about to become a wife, she’s set to come back to the Bad Boys franchise for the fourth installment, which is among upcoming 2024 movies. Bad Boys 4 is expected to hit theaters on June 14, 2024.

Heading into what was no doubt meant to be a celebratory weekend, with the actress and her hubby Wells Adams celebrating their first anniversary as a married couple, things got unexpectedly testy on the reality show, with one contestant accusing Hyland of being disrespectful. Thankfully, it doesn’t seem as if the ep had too negative an effect, as she and Adams shared an adorable exchange on social media to mark the big day.

With their original wedding plans having been postponed by the pandemic, Sarah Hyland and Wells Adams tied the knot in picture-perfect fashion on August 20, 2022, with quite a few Modern Family alums attending. (Not only that, but her TV uncle Jesse Tyler Ferguson filled in on officiating the wedding when Ty Burrell had to bow out due to a personal issue.) A year after that memorable date, Hyland shared a cute post to mark the date, which earned a sweet response from Adams.

• Sarah Hyland: One year married to you flew by in a blink of an eye. You’re my HUSBAND. My best friend. My true north. I love you more than words can say and every day is the best day when I’m with you. Marriage is most fun I’ve ever had because I get to be married to you 💋

Not that the Bachelor in Paradise favorite was going to go very long without sharing his own loving message for Hyland on their day. His Instagram post, which featured some equally silly pics, featured the following caption:

But things weren't nearly as loving on the set of Love Island USA for the episode airing on Friday, August 18.

Sarah Hyland Was Called 'Disrespectful' By Love Island USA Contestant

Emotions were already heightened during Sarah Hyland's most recent arrival at the Love Island villa, with lots of tears and hugs being shared. After all, she was there to announce the latest contestant who'd be getting dumped and heading home, which is never a fun time for all the remaining hopefuls. When she revealed that Keenan Anunay had the fewest votes and was going home, the news was unexpected followed by his partner Vickala Gray pulling a Jerry Maguire and volunteering to exit the show alongside Keenan, saying she felt like she already achieved her goal in joining the show. 

In the immediate aftermath, Vickala and Keenan seemed to be the main two people smiling, as everyone else was either full of tears or confused by what they'd just witnessed. When Hyland spoke again, it was to double-check and confirm that Vickala was 100% certain she wanted to go forward with her self-exile, the contestant responded with "No regrets."

Which was then followed up by fellow islander Mike Starks questioning the manner in which Hyland asked her question.

• Starks: Why are you saying it like that?
• Hyland: Me?
• Starks: Yeah, it sounded mad disrespectful.
• Hyland: I'm being disrespectful?
• Starks: Yeah.
• Hyland: Okay, then.

Hyland was seemingly just as shocked by that reaction as she was by Vickala's exit, but it didn't seem like many others shared in Starks' opinion, with Leonardo Dionicio apologizing for his fellow contestant and telling the host he thought the "disrespectful" comment was just a heat-of-the-moment issue, and Hyland thanked him, responding with "Boys will be boys, right?"

The uncomfortable moment can be viewed in the clip below.

Indeed, Mike Starks ended up getting dumped himself later on in the episode, which Hyland herself dubbed a "red wedding," in a reference to the deadly Game of Thrones installment. The next episode should be an interesting one to watch indeed.

Here's hoping Sarah Hyland and Wells Adams get to celebrate their first year of marriage together in style at some point. Until then, new episodes of Love Island USA are available to stream with a Peacock subscription.

Modern Family may have ended a few years ago, but there still seems to be plenty of interest in the show (which is available to stream with a Hulu subscription.) Fans still talk about their favorite storylines and, with 250 episodes spread across 11 seasons , there are a lot of them in the beloved sitcom. It would seem that one arc had an interesting side effect, though. Haley Dunphy actress Sarah Hyland admitted to experiencing weight gain, which is something she's sadly been shamed over, and she blames Haley’s storyline for the changes to her body.

One of the most surprising storylines in the later seasons of Modern Family saw Haley getting pregnant with twins by on-again/off-again boyfriend (and later husband) Dylan. 32-year-old Sarah Hyland spoke with BuzzFeed and recalled the time that her character was eating for three. It sounds like there was some serious method acting going on, too, as the actress committed to getting the appropriate figure:

That's definitely dedication if I’ve ever seen it. I'd imagine that playing someone who is pregnant with twins isn't easy. Ultimately, though it sounds like Sarah Hyland really got into Haley’s state of mind while taking part in some chowdowns. While she gained 20 pounds as a result, she was, at the very least, able to hide it well enough because of the prosthetic belly, and the actress can now look back and laugh it at. I, for one, applaud her for going all in on this.

The Vampire Academy alum has been a major supporter of body positivity. On that note, she previously opened up about the advice she would give to her younger self during the first season of the sitcom. The sage wisdom she would give is to not “be too hard on yourself” and “love you more,” which is invaluable guidance. Sometimes being an actor means putting yourself in a vulnerable position, and a pregnancy story arc definitely seems like it could do just that.

Sarah Hyland still seems to keep the series near and dear to her heart. Her on-screen father, Ty Burrell, was included in a Father’s Day shoutout last month, and  some of the cast was present at Hyland’s wedding. Coincidentally, she even reunited with Andy actor Adam Devine for Peacock’s Bumper in Berlin. 

At present, the star is focused on Love Island, and she looks fabulous. She recently made waves for rocking the Barbiecore while on vacation. I'm not sure if Sarah Hyland has any plans to play another pregnant character anytime soon. If she does, I'd expect her to take a different kind of approach to preparing for the part. But even on the off chance that she decides to commit by eating again, it really doesn't matter as long Hyland herself is healthy and happy with the approach.

Have you heard? It’s going to be a Barbie summer! With the 2023 new movie release now less than a week away, its influence on fashion is everywhere. The latest celebrities to be spotted in Barbiecore are The Little Mermaid star Halle Bailey and Modern Family’s Sarah Hyland, who wore bright pink during their vacations. I absolutely love their fits, especially because they are also hair goals. 

First, check out Halle Bailey completely in her element by the sea in a hot pink zip-up bathing suit. The actress and singer didn’t disclose exactly where she’s soaking up the sun, but I love her participation in Barbiecore. It’s giving Barbie Mermaid! The 23-year-old star looks great with the fit, but check out those locs! She's become rather famous for using her natural hair for The Little Mermaid. She’s had her locs since she was five years old and has said that they're a “huge part” of who she is. Implementing her hairstyle into Little Mermaid actually cost the Disney production six figures. But when it comes to Bailey’s vacation pic, the look is absolutely priceless, and the top knot her hair is in is gorgeous! 

Meanwhile, as summer rages on, Sarah Hyland also ventured out to the coast, somewhere in “paradise” while in Barbiecore as well. The Modern Family star is wearing a hot pink bikini set paired with a high-slit skirt coverup and top with sleeves. Take a look: 

This is another serve for sure! What I’m especially loving about this look is he hair, which includes some major curls. While the actress is best known for having straight hair mostly in her famed ABC comedy, she actually has naturally curly hair, and it’s so cool to see her embracing them completely while on vacation. Curls are not the easiest hair type to manage, but the Pitch Perfect: Bumper in Berlin has clearly cracked the code. 

As the countdown for Barbie is in the days now, we’ve really seen the movie inspire fashion across Hollywood. Hot pink has been the color of the year, with the Kardashians even embracing the trend on social media along with actors like Sydney Sweeney, Megan Fox, Lizzo and Florence Pugh. Plus, Margot Robbie has gone big on Barbiecore for the press tour, even specifically channeling iconic doll looks on red carpets, premieres and such. I trust that looks like the ones sported by Halle Bailey and Sarah Hyland will continue to surface on social media throughout the movie's theatrical run.

Aside from embracing all the pink this summer if you really want to get in on the fun, there’s also a host of Barbie movie products to shop for to get ready for Greta Gerwig’s film, which hit theaters on July 21 as part of the schedule of 2023 new movie releases.

It’s been three years since Modern Family aired its flash foward-less series finale, but even so, the cast has remained close since then. Jesse Tyler Ferguson and Audrey Anderson-Emmons have had a father-daughter date night, and much of the cast attended Sarah Hyland’s wedding. In addition, Hyland and Ariel Winter shared a sweet exchange for Winter’s birthday. So it seems clear that the cast were like family both on and off-screen and still are to this day. And following Hyland’s recent Father’s Day shoutout to her on-screen dad Ty Burrell, I now want the ABC sitcom back more than ever. 

Plenty of people celebrated their dads on Sunday for Father’s Day, and Sarah Hyland’s husband, Wells Adams, had a pretty sweet shoutout for the holiday. The Bachelor star took to Instagram to wish everyone well by sharing a photo of himself, Hyland, and their fathers as well as Ty Burrell, who portrayed Phil Dunphy on Modern Family. While three years may not seem like too long, it definitely feels like it's been ages since the show finished its 11-season run. Seeing the actress alongside her longtime TV dad in a photo with her actual father, husband, and father-in-law is nothing short of sweet. And with the two Dunphy actors in the same place, I'm truly sitting her wishing there were more episodes of the series. Those who watched the show know that Haley and Phil had some incredibly funny and sweet scenes together. I'm loving the photo and the nostalgia that it instills, but are new episodes too much to ask for? (They probably are.)

Sarah Hyland definitely seems to hold onto her Modern Family family, though, as her tv uncle, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, stepped in as officiator of her wedding at the last minute. Now, that's how dependable family should be. While it’s not uncommon for a cast to stay as close after a show or movie ends production, it's rare that you see such bonds as strong as the one's presented by this group of talent.

Though it's only been a few years since we said goodbye to the Pritchett-Dunphy family, it’s not too early to discuss a reboot or revival, I think. Even though the stars have other projects that they're currently working on or starring in, the hope is always there. At the very least, Sarah Hyland did reunite with Adam Devine for the Pitch Perfect series Bumper in Berlin, so it gave fans an alternative to Haley and Andy, who unfortunately weren’t endgame on Modern Family. But as we come up with fan fiction and hope for more from the franchise, let's just relish in the sweet photos and reunions like the Father's Day post featuring Hyland and Ty Burrell.

Both on and off screen the Modern Family cast really is a family, and their real-life love for each other was on full display at Sarah Hyland’s wedding to Wells Adams last summer. While Hyland and Adams’ wedding had many alums from the ABC comedy on the guest list, one person who had a really big job at the ceremony was Jesse Tyler Ferguson, who officiated for the couple. However, that was a last-minute decision after Ty Burrell had to step down, and the Mitchell actor joked that he “couldn’t get out of it.” 

For some background, Sarah Hyland’s wedding was basically a Modern Family reunion, as Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Julie Bowen, Sofia Vergara, Nolan Gould and Ariel Winter were all in attendance. After working together for 11 years the crew grew very close, and are still very tight. One person who wasn’t there, but was supposed to be, was Hyland’s TV dad Ty Burell, who had a family emergency, and couldn’t make it. He was supposed to officiate the wedding, but when he wasn't able to Jesse Tyler Ferguson stepped up to the plate to help out, and he explained what went down on that day on the Jennifer Hudson Show, saying: 

Considering both the popularity of Modern Family and Sarah Hyland, plus the public’s love for her and her now-husband Wells Adams, who is the beloved bartender on Bachelor in Paradise, there were a lot of people who were excited to see all the photos, posts and videos from the ceremony. So, I understand why Ferguson may have wanted to jokingly get out of it at first, it’s a high-stakes event. However, he did officiate, and he did a great job. 

He continued to talk to Jennifer Hudson about the ceremony, which also featured A-list guests including Shaun White, Nina Dobrev, Debby Ryan and more, noting how high profile the wedding was. Ferguson said: 

It was so adorable seeing Wells Adams well up as his “perfect person” walked down the aisle and Jesse Tyler Ferguson beamed in the background. Overall, it seemed like a beautiful ceremony, and to have Hyland’s beloved co-star officiate the wedding must have made it extra special. Plus, as the actor noted, now he can help out anytime since his first time officiating a wedding was at a pretty big one. 

Both Hyland and Ferguson have been staying busy since this big event. While the Mitchell actor has been spending his time on Broadway in Take Me Out, he also just launched a podcast called Dinner's on Me. Meanwhile, the Haley actress recently starred in the Pitch Perfect spin-off Bumper in Berlin, which can be streamed with a Peacock subscription. 

It often feels like rom-coms are a dime a dozen, but the truth is that the best romantic comedies are ones built on several things. Fans of the genre enjoy snappy dialogue, inventive and/or realistic complications for the central couple, a swoon-worthy love story, and, of course, main characters portrayed by actors who have more than enough on-screen chemistry to make all of those pieces come together. 

What’s great about romantic comedies is that we’ve gotten more than enough couples like this over the past two plus decades, but some of them have either only partnered one time (which, granted, may be because their pairing is still relatively new), or haven’t been in a film together for many years now. So, let’s take a look at the (mostly) rom-com partners that we really think should make another movie together!

Meg Ryan And Tom Hanks

This duo probably feels like a no-brainer to you, and, well, it should! Meg Ryan and Tom Hanks have memorably joined forces for two rom-com hits, Sleepless in Seattle and You’ve Got Mail, plus the 1990 cult favorite romantic comedy, Joe Versus the Volcano, so there’s no reason for them not to really round things out with a fourth film. I’d be down for a second chance romance where they learn to love again, wouldn’t you?

Diane Keaton And Keanu Reeves 

Yes, yes… Already I’m cheating here, but only a tiny bit. While the magnetic on-screen coupling of Diane Keaton and Keanu Reeves wasn’t the main focus of Something’s Gotta Give, I have spent the past 20 years wishing they were. So, let's get these adorably crazy kids back together! They could play any kind of couple (bickering marrieds who are clearly still hot for each other, two folks who shouldn’t get together but can’t help themselves, etc.) and I’d be in the theater on opening night.

Lana Condor And Noah Centineo

Honestly, there might not be a cuter couple on this list. The dreamy teen romance movie pairing of Lana Condor and Noah Centineo was, obviously, gifted to everyone with a Netflix subscription in the To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before trilogy, and there’s a reason that so many people fell head over heels for them. These two sorta sparkle together on screen, and I’d love to see them reunite in a romance (or any comedy) that’s got more of an adult edge to it.

Alison Brie And Jason Sudeikis

We all adore it when a rom-com gives us something different, and 2015’s Sleeping with Other People does just that with its story of friends who openly acknowledge their sexual tension, but purposely avoid doing anything about it so as to not screw up what they have. Alison Brie and Ted Lasso cast lead Jason Sudeikis are amazing as the friends in question, and I’d love to see them bring their casual, but still sexy, chemistry to another film. 

Jenny Slate And Jake Lacy

A true pleasure of watching Obvious Child was seeing the relationship between Jenny Slate and Jake Lacy’s characters develop as she has trouble revealing that she’s getting an abortion several weeks after their one-night stand. They work great as a duo with a clear attraction that’s impeded by a secret, and we’d really appreciate it if we could watch him warm her butter and make her tea in a movie that sees them as fully coupled characters.

Constance Wu And Henry Golding

I cannot tell a lie; some of the reason for Constance Wu and Henry Golding making the list is simply because we are all dying for the Crazy Rich Asians sequel we’ve been promised for several years now. While we wait, I’m hoping we can at least get those two into another fun rom-com where he can bring his posh, suave energy to meet her adorably spunky, girl-next-door verve.

Emma Stone And Ryan Gosling

What’s not to love about Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling, especially when they star opposite each other in a romantic story? They were sweet, sexy, bantery, and slightly goofy together in Crazy, Stupid, Love, then had all of that with more emotional depth in La La Land, and also had the same chemistry in Gangster Squad, but with an added veneer of danger. It’s been a rough few years; the world needs more of their exact thing, OK?

Kate Hudson And Matthew McConaughey

I know, I know! Matthew McConaughey doesn’t make rom-coms anymore, but that’s honestly no reason why he can’t re-team with Kate Hudson, 20 years after they first hit the screen together in How To Lose A Guy In 10 Days. The engaging push-and-pull of their romance in that film can easily be translated to, say, a movie where each is portraying a lawyer on the opposite side of a big murder case. There! Someone make that movie!

Queen Latifah And Common

Just Wright might not be the first movie you think of when it comes to Queen Latifah or romantic comedies, but it’s hard to deny that watching her play off of Common as they slowly go from not-quite-enemies to lovers was a genuine treat. Now all we need is the right vehicle for them so their individual easygoing charm can show us how well-matched they are on screen.

Jennifer Garner And Mark Ruffalo

There’s a reason that 13 Going On 30 is still so popular almost two decades later. That reason is Jennifer Garner’s joyful, weirdo energy as a teen suddenly transplanted to her adult life, sure, but it’s also how Mark Ruffalo calmly reconnects with the childhood friend he’d long ago lost touch with. They're just sweet together, OK? We saw them in The Adam Project. We need more!

Sandra Bullock And Channing Tatum

The luminous and hilarious pairing of Sandra Bullock and Channing Tatum was definitely not on my rom-com bingo card, but damn, it was a joy to behold once we got it. In The Lost City, they were perfect as a starchy and grieving romance novelist and her incredibly sweet but somewhat dim cover model who get caught in a life-or-death situation in the jungle, and all I can hope for is that we someday have a sequel to enjoy.

Billy Eichner And Luke Macfarlane

If an opposites attract energy is your thing, there’s no way for you not to enjoy the pairing of Billy Eichner and Luke Macfarlane. The Bros stars only just met up on screen in 2022, but we’d love to see them reunite in a rom-com that switches Eichner’s intense characterization and Macfarlane’s laid-back vibe around for additional laughs.

Meg Ryan And Hugh Jackman

Kate & Leopold is the rare romance where Meg Ryan’s character is less than sweet for much of the film, but watching her early ‘00s driven career woman begin to soften with the attentions of Hugh Jackman’s fancy man from the 1870s was a delight. Now if we can just get them to play off of one another when both are from the modern day, all will be right in the world.

Anne Hathaway And Chris Pine

We all know that The Princess Diaries 2 is so beloved that fans have wanted to bring the cast back for the now in development third movie for nearly 20 years, and part of that was because of the sweet, (sorta) slow burn love story between Anne Hathaway and Chris Pine’s characters. While everyone would love to see them as a long-married couple in a sequel, we’d also take them as, oh, I don’t know, bickering co-workers who can’t deny their attraction, so let’s stop stalling and get this coupling back on the big screen!

Julia Roberts And Hugh Grant

Look, I know that Hugh Grant is fully in his slimy villain era right now and is hilariously against even attempting rom-coms again. But! I think that makes the potential of this Notting Hill pairing coming back together even more appealing. Let him play a con-man who tricks Julia Roberts into falling in love, only to steal all her money and force her to track him down with a hilarious vengeance. I’d buy a ticket for that, OK?

Jennifer Lopez And George Clooney

Sure, sure. I’m cheating this entry a bit because, technically, Jennifer Lopez and George Clooney didn't star in a traditional rom-com together, but who among us can deny that they were HOT in Out of Sight? No one, that’s who! I say we get these two into a proper romantic comedy, but maybe one that’s not another Lopez wedding movie, just to switch things up.

Sanaa Lathan And Omar Epps 

Yes, this is another, more direct, fudging of this article’s concept, because Sanaa Lathan and Omar Epps were a romantic drama pairing in Love & Basketball… but they were SO GOOD TOGETHER. Watching them play out a long-term path to eventual happiness was extremely satisfying, but maybe this time we can use that chemistry of theirs for a couple that has more good times than stressful ones.

Cristin Milioti And Andy Samberg

The chances that Cristin Milioti and Andy Samberg will strike time loop movie gold again after Palm Springs is incredibly unlikely, and we wouldn’t want them to try. Instead, why not let these two portray criminals on the run for separate crimes who accidentally cross paths and fall in love while they’re on the lam? They can give us that same adorably wacky enthusiasm that we all loved the first time around that way!

Kristen Stewart And Aubrey Plaza

If you saw Happiest Season, then you saw the undeniable spark between Kristen Stewart and Aubrey Plaza as their characters (Who weren’t even dating!) dealt with a lot of toxicity during Christmastime. They managed to genuinely bond (and look great doing it) over their similar relationship trauma, so I say we go ahead and give these two an even bubblier romantic comedy where they can actually freakin’ end up as a couple! 

Gemma Chan And Harry Shum Jr. 

Obviously, we didn’t get a real romance between the characters played by Gemma Chan and Harry Shum Jr. in Crazy Rich Asians, but the movie sure did set up the promise of fulfilling the epic love story that was a part of Kevin Kwan’s novel trilogy. Fans got a very brief scene of them looking all cute and dreamy with each other and dancing during the mid-credits scene, so hear me now: WE NEED THAT ASTRID AND CHARLIE SPINOFF, ASAP!

Issa Rae And Kumail Nanjiani

It may be hard to cast two people who have perfect romantic chemistry, but it could be even harder to find a duo who can portray the first glorious blush of falling in love, that same couple once they’ve begun to fall apart, and then play them as they start to get closer… because they’re on the run after being accused of murder. Issa Rae and Kumail Nanjiani are those people, and we’ve been wanting them back on screen since The Lovebirds to do something just as crazy and rom-commy again.

Reese Witherspoon And Josh Lucas

If you’re looking for a bickering duo who are hot together no matter what, that’s Sweet Home Alabama’s Reese Witherspoon and Josh Lucas, for sure. I’m sure they’d be great doing anything on screen, but also doubt anyone would mind if they paired for a story that would let them fight (and fight through) their attraction until they finally admit their feelings for each other.

Rachel McAdams And Domhnall Gleeson

You know what’s coming, right? After being apart for a decade, it’s About Time that Rachel McAdams and Domhnall Gleeson join forces again to bring fans another lovey dovey couple, and we don’t even care what the set up is!

Sarah Hyland And Tyler James Williams

Never has it been more enjoyable to watch a woman who’s not sure about the whole marriage thing date a man who’s very much ready for a long-term commitment than in The Wedding Year, and that was because of the well-matched chemistry/comedic energy of Sarah Hyland and Tyler James Williams. I think these two would be fantastic in an action/adventure rom-com like The Lost City!

Kristen Bell And Dustin Milligan 

Though Kristen Bell and Dustin Milligan starred in The People We Hate at the Wedding, which was more of a straight ahead comedy, they had a definite romantic comedy storyline and played off of each other beautifully. I’m imagining a cinematic rematch for them that involves both of their characters being messy and a bit angry this time, and I think they’ll be a delight to watch once again.

Vivian Oparah And David Jonsson

Even though Vivian Oparah and David Jonsson are a very new rom-com pairing, as their starring vehicle, Rye Lane, debuted in early 2023, there’s no doubting the fizzy joy one gets from watching their characters meet cute and end up slowly becoming attracted to each other over the course of one eventful day. These two can do anything together next, but I don’t think anyone would mind a sequel where we get to see this romance progress!

If nothing else, while we wait to see if these rom-com partners get back together on the big screen, we can all at least go back and enjoy the amazing films they’ve already given us!

It’s certainly no secret in Hollywood that child actors don’t always bear the brunt of an early career in the most positive ways, and many out there would probably like to be able to go back in time and deliver a key piece of life advice to their younger selves that would put their lives back on track. Thankfully, Modern Family vet Sarah Hyland seemingly never strayed down the same paths that have led to others’ downfalls, from substance abuse to mismanaged finances, and she’s currently living an adorable existence with hubby and Bachelor In Paradise mainstay Wells Adams, having married her “perfect person” back in August 2022. But there is still a bit of advice she’d go back and give her younger self.

Sarah Hyland was present for Tic Tac’s launch of its newest flavor, Strawberries and Cream, and shared her thoughts with EOnline about the guidance she’d like to communicate to the version of herself whose life was about to change forever thanks to Modern Family’s massive success from the very start. In her words:

Honestly, that’s just good advice for anyone at any point, whether it’s about a job, a family, putting together an aquarium, writing the Great American Novel, or any other point of reference. So often we hold on to immediate regrets while second-guessing ourselves, as opposed to just taking life’s lumps as easily as taking the wins. 

In a similar vein, being a model employee often involves trying to please others far more regularly than making sure we keep our own happiness in the running. While this complaint didn’t come early on, Sarah Hyland did express disappointment as Modern Family was concluding over her character Haley’s story faltering near the end due to her pregnancy and young motherhood spurring only surface-level storytelling.

Judging by how fast the actress changed up her hair after production wrapped, Hyland was possibly ready for all kinds of changes. She followed Modern Family up with a hosting gig for a Play-Doh competition, which went from one-off special to a full season, and also co-led the cast of the Pitch Perfect spinoff series Bumper in Berlin. She also filmed a pilot for a fantastical fairy tale drama titled Epic, but that project failed to move forward at ABC.

Not that being kind to herself was the only advice Sarah Hyland wanted to go back and give her younger self. While that first bit of direction was mental and emotional, this next bit is all about the physical. Here’s what else the Wedding Year star had to say:

Also pretty good advice for just about anyone, though they'd have to be under a certain age. Who among us wouldn't love to retcon reality in order to make ourselves more fit, active and talented in our labors and hobbies? I've never been a skilled dancer, but if I had the chance to go back and tell my 20-year-old self to get started so that I could try to avoid being an uncoordinated schmuck later in life, I'd at least send myself a mostly legible note. 

As we wait to see where Sarah Hyland's career takes her next, we can probably feel comfortable with the notion that she's not angling hard to be on Dancing with the Stars' next season, and nor that another Dirty Dancing sequel is her passion project.

It's not that uncommon for celebrities to have a fellow celebrity doppelganger. Some of them even embrace it. As a matter of fact, according to Perry, she used to pretend to be Deschanel to hit the clubs. Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe says he loves when fans mistake him for Lord of the Rings' Elijah Wood and yell at him from moving vehicles. Well, the latest star to be mistaken for another celeb is That 70's Show alum Mila Kunis. See for yourself as The Spy Who Dumped Me actress has the perfect response to being mistaken for Megan Fox.

The Black Swan actress signed autographs for fans after an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! In the video on ET, one fan can be seen holding out a poster for the cult horror classic Jennifer's Body before having Kunis correct them in the most endearing of ways. She tells the excited fan that she isn't Fox but that she is flattered to be mistaken for her. You can see the video embedded below. 

You have to give it to Mila Kunis. She's a real class act. Instead of embarrassing the fan for their mistake --honestly, given the face mask the actress is wearing, a reasonable mistake -- she takes the time to share her admiration for the Good Mourning actress.  

Funny enough, this isn't the first time Mila Kunis has been part of a case of "mistaken celebrity identity." Last year, while on the red carpet for the Golden Globes, Modern Family actress Sarah Hyland was mistaken for the Jupiter Ascending star. The young actress recounted the story in detail on the Kelly Clarkson Show, saying she often gets mistaken for Kunis, "loves it," and even "takes it as a compliment." 

While Mila Kunis hasn't announced any upcoming movies, the actress's most recent project, The Luckiest Girl Alive, enjoyed a number one position on Netflix's Top 10 Movies in the U.S. for several weeks last fall. Fans will soon get a chance to see her return to her star-making role as Jackie Burkhart, alongside her real-life husband and That '70s Show castmate Ashton Kutcher (as well as many other returning vets) for Netflix's sequel series That '90s Show.

There is no word on how Megan Fox feels about the mix-up. But most celebs are relatively cool with celebrity lookalikes and often have a bit of fun with their doppelgängers. Now, all we need is a Kunis and Fox team-up movie! How about a reboot and gender swap of the Arnold Schwarzenegger and Danny Devito comedy vehicle Twins? That's a free idea, Hollywood. I don't even need a credit. 

Mild spoilers ahead for Peacock’s Bumper in Berlin, so read at your own risk!

Modern Family fans have long been sad about how things played out between Sarah Hyland's Haley Dunphy and Adam Devine's Andy Bailey. However, they're likely rejoicing now following the release of the Pitch Perfect spin-off series, Bumper in Berlin. In it, Devine reprises his fan-favorite role as Bumper Allen, with former on-screen girlfriend Hyland playing a potential love interest for his character. And based on comments made by Devine, he's more than happy with this lovely twist of fate.

Sarah Hyland and Adam Devine’s characters on the ABC show had a rollercoaster of a relationship, and it almost looked like they were going to end up together. But alas, their paths eventually diverged when Andy returned to his hometown to take a job. With that in mind, it's hard not be excited about the two stars reteaming for Bumper in Berlin. Devine spoke to Parade about working with Hyland again and what it means for him to be able to give fans of the long-running sitcom this kind of reunion:

Bumper in Berlin was certainly a nice way to get the two stars who made up “Handy” back together, and one could argue that their interactions on the new show are just as sweet as the ones on Modern Family, if not more so. In addition, viewers have been able to see the two stars show off their vocal talents, as they've sung solo and done duets thus far.

Sarah Hyland joined the musical series earlier this year, and it marked her first regular acting role on TV since Modern Family ended. She's also been hosting Play-Doh Squished since last year and Love Island USA since this past August. Hyland has remained pretty busy since the Emmy-winning sitcom's conclusion, but this latest gig may be the most satisfying for the fans.

The Bumper in Berlin cast includes some pretty talented actors, though one could argue that former Modern Family cast members Adam Devine and Sarah Hyland are the true anchors of the series. As of right now, it's unclear as to whether there will be a second season of the Pitch Perfect offshoot but, given the way Season 1 concluded, there are certainly more stories that can be told, especially when it comes to Bumper and Heidi a.k.a. “Humper.” 

The reunion, aside Bumper in Berlin gives fans a series starring one of Pitch Perfect’s breakout characters and even included some fun Easter eggs. One can only hope that the Adam Devine-led show manages to get renewed for a second season. That way, we'll get more laughs and singing and even more of Devine and his co-star as the already-endearing Bumper and Heidi.

There was a film that came out in 2012 that truly changed the game for me. It made me hyper-aware of how I wanted my college experience to go and made me all that more excited for it to start, and that film, my friends, is Pitch Perfect. While there are plenty of college-themed movies out there like Legally Blonde or Animal House, this film about a group of girls in an a capella group was something that defined me, and it's a film I continue to love to re-watch to this day. It’s hard to believe that it’s been ten years since it came out. 

However, the one character I never thought would get a spinoff from the Pitch Perfect movies, out of everyone, was Bumper. The character, played by Adam DeVine, was the antagonist in the first film and slowly turned into more of an anti-hero as time went on, and now, he’s getting his own series on Peacock, called Pitch Perfect: Bumper in Berlin. 

The show follows Bumper as he travels to Germany, where he is supposedly huge, and his struggles to make it there, but with any spinoff, there always comes a new cast. Here is where you might have seen the Pitch Perfect: Bumper in Berlin cast before. 

Adam DeVine (Bumper)

We can’t start off a Pitch Perfect: Bumper in Berlin cast list without mentioning the man himself, Bumper, who is played by Adam DeVine. The actor appeared as Bumper in both Pitch Perfect and Pitch Perfect 2, and this will be his first time reprising the role since the first sequel. However, DeVine has done plenty in the world of comedy, in both television and movies. 

If you don’t know him from this franchise, you probably know the actor from his hilarious show, Workaholics on Comedy Central, where he was actually one of the co-creators. It ran from 2011 to 2017 and was very successful. However, DeVine has also done plenty of other television work. He had a major supporting role on the sitcom Modern Family (alongside fellow BIB co-star, Sarah Hyland), and appeared in shows such as Drunk History, Adam DeVine’s House Party, and more. He’s currently a part of the main cast of The Righteous Gemstones. 

DeVine has also appeared in many comedic films, as well, including The Intern, Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates, When We First Met, The Final Girls, Isn’t It Romantic, Magic Camp and others. 

Jameela Jamil (Gisela)

Next up on this Bumper in Berlin cast list, we take a look at Gisella, a rival of Bumper’s in Berlin, and she is portrayed by the lovely Jameela Jamil. The actress is primarily known for her legendary role in the cast of The Good Place, where she played Tahani Al-Jamil, but she’s done plenty of other work in the world of television and movies. 

In TV, she also had a pretty big role as part of the She-Hulk cast on Disney+. Besides that, she’s worked as a host and judge for several competition and reality shows, including The Misery Index, Legendary, and more. Jamil has also offered up her voice for roles in TV shows like DuckTales, Star Trek: Prodigy, Rugrats, Animaniacs, Big City Greens, and more. 

In terms of film, Jamil recently had a role in the cast of DC League of Super-Pets, and has appeared in films such as Jennifer Lopez’s romantic comedy, Marry Me, and How To Build A Girl. 

Flula Borg (Pieter)

If the name Flula Borg sounds familiar, it’s because he actually also appeared in the Pitch Perfect series as Pieter before reprising the role in Pitch Perfect: Bumper in Berlin. If you don't recall, he was in the second film as part of the lead voices of Das Sound Machine, the a capella group from Germany that the Barden Bellas competed against – so, in all honesty, it makes sense that one of those singers would appear in a Pitch Perfect show based in Berlin. 

Borg has been around in the entertainment industry for years. I primarily knew him for many years when he was on YouTube, where he worked with a lot of other big YouTubers, such as Smosh, Miranda Sings, and many more. But, he’s since moved into the TV and film world and has appeared in many movies and television shows. 

Some of the series that Borg has appeared on have included Silicon Valley, Workaholics, Counterpart, The Good Place, Mr. Mayor and several others. He’s also offered his voice up for roles on shows like Centaurworld, Teen Titan’s Go!, Tangled: The Series, and others. 

Borg has also had roles in movies such as The Suicide Squad, 2022’s Luck, Ralph Breaks the Internet, Chip n’ Dale Rescue Rangers and more. 

Sarah Hyland (Heidi)

As mentioned above, Sarah Hyland and Adam DeVine actually have history together on screen prior to their roles in Pitch Perfect: Bumper in Berlin. Before they were Bumper and Heidi, they were actually Andy and Haley in Modern Family, showing that they already have amazing on-screen chemistry together – and making fans upset when their characters called it quits on the show. 

But, that doesn’t mean we can’t enjoy them together again in this series. Sarah Hyland has done so much in television. Besides her main role on Modern Family, she has appeared in several shows such as All My Children, Lipstick Jungle, One Life To Live, Bonnie & Clyde, Veronica Mars, and more. She’s also the current host of Love Island USA. 

Hyland has also appeared in a variety of movies, including Blind Date, Geek Charming, Vampire Academy, See You In Valhalla, The Wedding Year, My Fake Boyfriend and other films. 

Lera Abova (Lina)

Last but not least, we have Lera Abova, who plays a new character called Lina in Pitch Perfect: Bumper in Berlin. Unlike her co-stars, Lera Abova is relatively new to the world of acting and has only appeared in one film so far, called Anna, but I’m sure that after this show she’ll most be seen in a lot more series or movies, so we can see her in action.

What are you the most excited for in Pitch Perfect: Bumper in Berlin? Surely this cast is going to bring the heat to the a capella stage, and I can’t wait to sing along to every single one of the covers that are bound to come. 

Wells Adams and Sarah Hyland finally tied the knot August 20 in a gorgeous outdoor ceremony in Santa Barbara, surrounded by 200 of their closest friends and family members. It was a long time coming for the Bachelor in Paradise bartender and the Modern Family alum, as they saw their wedding date get postponed two times due to the pandemic. Two years is a long time to wait when a couple is ready to be declared husband and wife, but Adams recently recalled when he first knew he wanted to marry the Love Island host, and it turns out he's been waiting a whole lot longer than we knew to make that dream a reality.

On a recent episode of Bachelor in Paradise Season 8, Wells Adams accompanied contestants Michael Allio and Danielle Maltby on one of their dates. Maltby, who’s known the bartender for years through their Bachelor Nation connections, recalled that Adams was “beaming” when he'd spoken to her about Sarah Hyland after they started dating. Adams then admitted to knowing pretty quickly that he’d eventually be exchanging vows with the actress, saying: 

Just like in a fairytale, Wells Adams never believed in love at first sight — despite the fact that he went looking for it on both The Bachelorette and its fun summer spinoff Bachelor in Paradise — until he met Sarah Hyland. The actress was a longtime superfan of the reality dating shows, and she’s said she was pretty vocal about her interest in Adams after seeing him compete on JoJo Fletcher’s season. The two connected after he allegedly slid into her Twitter DMs, and forget The Bachelor, is this not the true modern-day love story?

Wells Adams has absolutely no qualms about showing his affection for his new wife and recently spoke about how emotional everyone was at their wedding ceremony, which was basically a Modern Family reunion. Even Sarah Hyland’s TV uncle Jesse Tyler Ferguson, who officiated the ceremony, shed some tears during the couple’s vows. 

Adams’ favorite part of the big celebration with his “perfect person,” however, came as they walked together up the aisle, stopping for a second kiss as husband and wife, with their friends and family cheering around them. If that's not a true slice of paradise... The newlyweds waited so many years to finally be able to say they’re married, so it’s only fitting that we can continue to celebrate their love.

The Modern Family actress and the Bachelor in Paradise bartender finally were pronounced husband and wife at a beautiful outdoor ceremony at a winery near Santa Barbara, California, three years after he initially asked her to be his wife and two years after their first planned wedding date. As with everything in 2020, the pandemic forced them to postpone the celebration that year, and the next as well. The couple was determined to wait until they could safely celebrate their big day with family and friends, and to hear Adams recall his favorite memory, it sounds like it was worth the wait. 

Wells Adams described the long-awaited August 20 event, including how emotional he and other members of the wedding party became at the beauty of the whole day. But in recalling his favorite moment, he said it was when he was able to “kiss her the second time,” telling People: 

It makes sense, given how important it was for their loved ones to be present for their nuptials, that his favorite moment would include getting to hear friends and family celebrate as he kissed his new wife. Wells Adams said about 200 guests were present, including what was practically a Modern Family reunion — with Jesse Tyler Ferguson officiating the ceremony, and Sofia Vergara, Nolan Gould, Ariel Winter and Julie Bowen also making appearances. There were also plenty of former contestants from Bachelor Nation present, including Ben Higgins, Chris Soules, Kaitlyn Bristowe, Nick Viall, Joe Amabile and many more.

After so many years of waiting and wondering if they'd even get to throw their dream wedding — apparently they even discussed whether or not they should just elope — the reality TV veteran said once the moment came when Sarah Hyland was walking down the aisle, he couldn’t even believe it was finally happening. He told People: 

He admitted to shedding lots of tears, as did Jesse Tyler Ferguson and apparently many of the rest of those gathered at the winery, and his emotions were captured in one of many photos Wells Adams and Sarah Hyland have shared on Instagram in the first months of their marriage: 

It’s so nice to see that waiting two years longer than they’d intended to get married actually turned out to be every bit as special as they’d hoped, and that Wells Adams has this amazing memory of him and his wife surrounded by their loved ones. Gorgeous, elegant photos of Modern Family star Sarah Hyland’s wedding have been floating around the internet since the ceremony happened, but Nina Dobrev posted something a bit more candid. Using the song “Super Freaky Girl” by Niki Minaj, Dobrev posted a video showing her boyfriend Shaun White and other celebrity friends strutting their stuff and partying over the course of the weekend. 

The reel shows Dobrev with White, as well as friends Vanessa Hudgens, Kayla Ewell, Tanner Novlan, and Chord Overstreet. She cut together clips of Hyland and Adams walking into the reception, Hudgens posing in a gorgeous silk dress, everyone singing together on a party bus, a clip of herself frolicking through a vineyard and more — the fact that this isn’t everything in the video (which you can watch in the whole Instagram post below) makes me think this was an epic wedding. 

Adams and Hyland’s wedding not only reunited the Modern Family cast but also brought together a conglomerate of people that is something of a millennial's nostalgic dreams (as someone who teeters on the border of millennial and Gen Z I can confirm this is a dream). Dobrev, of Vampire Diaries fame, Hudgens, the High School Musical icon and Netflix Christmas movie queen, along with White, who has been a mainstay of the Winter Olympics since the early 2000s, had me gushing over the fun-filled video. 

Dobrev and White are one of the most talked-about couples at the moment. From Dobrev supporting White during his final Olympics last winter to her trolling White with her dog the two are always up to something fun and clearly have a good sense of humor. The two have traveled the world this summer from Monaco to France and are now back in Southern California to celebrate their friends’ wedding.  

Wells Adams and Hylands’ wedding has been a long time coming, so long Hyland said she wouldn’t have minded eloping. The pair got engaged in 2019 and have joked throughout the last three years that it would eventually happen, and it seems like to both the guests and those taking it in on social media they made the wait worth it. 

Over the course of their engagement, Adams took over as the bartender on ABC’s Bachelor In Paradise. For the past three seasons, he has provided alcohol and advice to those trying to find love from the beachside bungalow in Mexico. Some of the contestants from the franchise even made an appearance at the wedding like Nick Viall, who despite his best efforts is still single, the 20th Bachelor Ben Higgins and Joe Amabile, who ended up with Serena Pitt in the last season of Paradise, and they’re still together.

Along with Dobrev, White and Hudgens, other celebs that had me feeling all nostalgic were Disney Channel star of yesteryear Debby Ryan and former Glee star Chord Overstreet. 

What is more fun than watching Adams console lost souls on the beaches of Paradise and Hyland hosting the chaos that is Peacock’s U.S. version of Love Island (which, FYI, can be watched with a Peacock premium subscription)? Watching the two of them finally get married in front of all their friends. 

Sarah Hyland and Wells Adams are married! The Modern Family actress and the Bachelor Nation alum finally were able to tie the knot after having pushed the date back multiple times due to the pandemic. The couple didn’t give up their hopes of celebrating with all of their friends and family, and their patience certainly paid off. Among the many guests gathered to celebrate the happy couple were Hyland’s TV family from the ABC sitcom, and seeing the posts from this Modern Family cast reunion is just what my soul needs right now.

The big event was held on Saturday, August 20, at the Sunstone Winery near Santa Barbara, California, per People, as Sarah Hyland welcomed Sofia Vergara, Nolan Gould, Ariel Winter, Jesse Tyler Ferguson and Julie Bowen to watch her say “I do” to her love of five years. While the Haley actress and her new husband were not present in the Instagram posts, it seems more than clear that a good time was had by other members of the Pritchett/Dunphy gang!

Also in attendance for the big day were Jesse Tyler Ferguson’s husband Justin Mikita and Sofia Vergara’s son Manalo Vergara. Mikita may have never been on the sitcom, but it’s clear that he’s definitely an unofficial member of the fam! Nolan Gould embraced his honorary uncle while also getting some love from his TV sister Ariel Winter.

During Sarah Hyland’s lengthy engagement, she revealed that back when Wells Adams was ready to propose, he not only asked for her parents’ blessing, but also for the blessing of her TV parents — Julie Bowen and Ty Burrell — before getting down on one knee. It looks like they approved of the Bachelor in Paradise bartender, because “mom” was in attendance! Sofia Vergara made sure to capture her “step-daughter” in one of her selfies at the ceremony:

The wedding guests appeared to be enjoying each other’s company almost as much as fans enjoy seeing them together again! Sofia Vergara shared what appears to be a photo booth shot of her with her crazy Modern Family co-stars:

Photo booth shots aren’t always flattering (isn’t that the fun of them, though?), and Jesse Tyler Ferguson amusingly voiced his dismay about how good Sofia Vergara and his husband looked in the picture:

Wells Adams met Sarah Hyland in 2016, the same year he appeared on ABC’s reality dating shows The Bachelorette and Bachelor in Paradise. He did find love — just not on the shows — when they started dating the next year. The couple got engaged in summer 2019 and had planned to get married a year later in August 2020. We all know how 2020 went down, and with Hyland being immunocompromised due to her kidney transplants, they decided to wait until it was safe for everyone to celebrate together. 

Hopefully in the coming days we’ll get to see some photos of the newlywed with her TV family as well, but in lieu of the bride and groom, at least Sofia Vergara was able to get us a picture of the cake:

Looks like the wedding is officially on! Sarah Hyland and Wells Adams are ready to tie the knot, as the bride-to-be celebrated with a bridal shower over the weekend, and after multiple COVID-related delays, you better believe her crew was down to party. The Modern Family actress shared a ton of photos from the event, which was attended by plenty of her friends, who appeared to enjoy some drinks and some laughs in a gorgeous outdoor venue.

The adorable couple started dating in 2017, when the Bachelor in Paradise bartender slid into Sarah Hyland’s DMs (Hyland is a known Bachelor Nation superfan). After a proposal in 2019, they originally set their wedding date for August 2020, which was spoiled by the pandemic — as were their summer 2021 plans. As the couple rang in the new year, they announced 2022 would finally be their time to say, “I do.” Check out some of the images she shared on Instagram Stories:

Sarah Hyland showed off her engagement ring wearing a gorgeous white dress with a picturesque backdrop. She seemed excited to have finally gotten to the bridal shower stage of the wedding planning, and understandably so, after she and Wells Adams had at times wondered if they’d ever be able to celebrate with loved ones. The actress previously admitted that while she wouldn’t mind just eloping, it was important to her fiancé that their friends and family be present. How sweet!

Wells Adams was present at the bridal shower, apparently showing up with a beautiful bouquet for his future wife. Adams has proven to be quite the romantic. Before he proposed to Sarah Hyland, he not only asked both of her parents for their blessing, but he also asked her on-screen Modern Family parents, Julie Bowen and Ty Burrell. It was such a sweet gesture, as the ABC sitcom was a big part of Hyland’s life, airing for 11 years, starting when she was still a teenager. 

When it turned out they wouldn’t be able to get hitched as originally planned in August 2020, the couple marked their would-have-been anniversary with a romantic and silly photo shoot. They're known for being pretty goofy, but it turns out they also have strangely specific memories, which Wells Adams proved during a bridal shower edition of the Newlywed Game when he remembered not just the date and location of their first kiss, but the color of their car and their driver’s name.

Among those in attendance were Justin Mikita, husband of Sarah Hyland’s Modern Family uncle Jesse Tyler Ferguson, and longtime friend Vanessa Hudgens, whose busy weekend also included hosting the 2022 MTV Movie & TV Awards. Hudgens told ET that she got emotional over the celebration of the happy couple:

I'm so happy for Sarah Hyland and Wells Adams to finally be getting their long-awaited wedding day. Here's hoping we get to see the gorgeous pics from that affair, as they deserve to go all out! Sarah Hyland was a familiar face on television for more than a decade thanks to her role as Haley Dunphy on Modern Family, but spent some time away from television after ending the long-running comedy in 2020. Now, Hyland is coming back to TV, and she’s heading to streaming on Peacock with a series regular role on the upcoming Pitch Perfect show. 

Pitch Perfect has officially landed Sarah Hyland (who debuted some short hair back in late 2021) for the TV version of the hit film franchise, which was previously announced to star familiar faces Adam Devine and Flula Borg reprising their roles of Bumper Allen and Piëter Krämer from the movies. The show picks up several years after Bumper’s last appearance in the movies. He moves to Germany after one of his songs hits big in Berlin thanks to an a capella TikTok video going viral, and that will bring him into contact with Hyland’s character. 

Bumper’s goal? To revive his music career. Hyland plays Heidi, a cheerful American who works as Bumper and Piëter’s assistant, and who is a bit odd. She has a dream of becoming a singer and songwriter herself, and performs original songs in a Berlin cabaret when she’s not working with her bosses. There aren’t too many details about Heidi or what her dynamic with her bosses will be like, but it seems safe to say that viewers will get to see Hyland singing her best! Piëter will be in the mix as a music manager who has exactly one client: Bumper.

While Pitch Perfect did play a lot for laughs – particularly with Bumper – the films were always packed full of great singing, so it stands to reason that the actress best known for playing Haley Dunphy will get to show off an impressive singing voice as well. In a fun twist, it will also be Sarah Hyland’s TV reunion with Adam Devine, who played Haley’s love interest Andy on the series, although Haley ultimately ended up with somebody else. Bumper is definitely no Andy, and Heidi sounds very different from Haley, but Modern Family fans should be able to enjoy the little reunion for Pitch Perfect. 

Pitch Perfect also cast two other new stars for the streaming series, with Jameela Jamil of The Good Place and the upcoming She-Hulk playing Gisela, a German pop star who is on her way up the ladder in showbiz. She’s Bumper’s main rival to take center stage at a German Unity Day concert, with the sticky issue that she’s Piëter’s ex-girlfriend. Anna actress Lera Above is on board to play Piëter’s sister, a.k.a. DJ Das Boot, who is a music producer and DJ in Berlin. 

There are no details just yet about when Pitch Perfect will come to Peacock as a TV series, but production is expected to begin soon in Berlin. Although the Pitch Perfect films aren’t available on any major streaming platform currently, you can see Sarah Hyland in action in all eleven seasons of Modern Family streaming on Hulu now with a Hulu subscription. As the world at large continues to make adjustments due to changes wrought by the pandemic, Hollywood is also facing delays for some films coming in later months. New movie premieres aren’t the only celebrity-infused events that have been pushed way back by COVID, either, as a lot of engaged couples looking to get married were forced to delay their wedding days as well. Modern Family alum Sarah Hyland and her fiancé Wells Adams are one such couple who got engaged right before the pandemic hit, and still haven't tied the knot. Hyland has now opened up about the possibility of eloping following her lengthy engagement.

Not too long ago, Sarah Hyland announced that 2022 would be the year she and Wells Adams would get married. In a recent interview on eThe Ellen DeGeneres Show with guest host Mario Lopez, Hyland reaffirmed that she would like 2022 to be the year for her to tie the knot, presumably in a lavish fasion. But when prompted by Lopez if she would ever consider eloping, the actress had this to say:

While it sounds like Sarah Hyland would be down for a quick eloping in order to become a married woman officially, her fiancé may need a bigger to-do. There are plenty of weddings happening in 2022, hopefully with safety as a top priority in all cases, so eloping may not be necessary for a 2022 nuptial just yet. 

Earlier in her interview, Sarah Hyland spoke of Wells Adams’ romanticism and revealed that he not only asked both of her parents for a blessing to marry her, but also her on-screen Modern Family parents, Julie Bowen and Ty Burrell. This totally makes sense, as Modern Family was a big part of Hyland’s life. The show went on for 11 years, starting when she was just a teenager. 

Along with the beautiful proposal he set up for Sarah Hyland, the fact that Wells Adams would involve so many people in their engagement and be so conscious about the important people in Hyland’s life supports that he would want a full-size wedding instead of going off and eloping, even if it was in a beautiful place like France. I wouldn't think Hyland’s willingness to elope means she loves her family and friends any less, as she speculates in her interview, but that she just wants to get married rather than drag out a long engagement. 

Fans may be hoping for a wedding as well, as they may result in some more fun-loving pictures like the one of Sarah Hyland posing in front of Wells Adams’ junk for her birthday. Whatever the couple decides, though, congratulations will certainly be in order. Until then, fans can see (or, rather, hear) her in a somewhat unexpected way when her voice is featured in the podcast series Bone, Marry, Bury as the lead sometime this year. We adore some Dunphy sister love! Ariel Winter and Sarah Hyland starred as Alex and Haley Dunphy, respectively, on the ABC sitcom Modern Family, which ended in 2020 after 11 seasons. Sisters are sisters for life, even if it’s just on-screen, as the two girls really did grow up with each other. After 11 years acting together, it’s not likely that sibling feeling will ever really go away, and Hyland recently made sure to give a shout-out to her little sis, who was celebrating her 24th birthday. 

Sarah Hyland took to Instagram to let Ariel Winter know she was thinking about her on her birthday, saying she missed her TV sister while sharing a beautiful photo of the two actresses together.

Isn't it just like an older sister to show her age by not quite understanding how the kids are talking these days? Ariel Winter responded to Sarah Hyland’s birthday well-wishes with an acknowledgement that Hyland had correctly used the phrase “We love to see it.” Go, Sarah!

Ariel Winter isn’t the only former co-star popping up in Sarah Hyland’s Modern Family-related posts lately. The actress also recently posted some IG photos with Jesse Tyler Ferguson, who played her uncle Mitchell on the sitcom, and his husband Justin Mikita. 

Since the end of Modern Family, Sarah Hyland has had her name attached to a few projects, including the ill-fated fairy tale anthology Epic, which ABC scrapped. She hosted the family competition special Play-Doh: Squished and is set to star opposite Keiynan Lonsdale and Dylan Sprouse in the movie My Fake Boyfriend. Hyland is also reportedly set to headline and produce an ABC comedy series from Oscar-nominated screenwriter Emily V. Gordon (The Big Sick) and This Is Us co-showrunners Isaac Aptaker and Elizabeth Berger, but information regarding that project has been scarce.

Through the COVID pandemic, Sarah Hyland has been focusing on staying healthy, as the actress was diagnosed with kidney dysplasia at a young age and has undergone two kidney transplants since 2012. She and fiancé Wells Adams are hoping to tie the knot this year, after the pandemic forced them to postpone their wedding two different times. And you can bet fans will be seeing some familiar Modern Family faces when that ceremony finally happens. 

Ariel Winter, for her part, has continued voice-acting in recent years, including the title character in Sofia the First and Marina the Mermaid in Captain Jake the Never Land Pirates, but she’s set to appear on the big screen in 2022, starring in the thriller Don’t Log Off, as well as the indie film Pools with Mason Gooding of Scream.

This is their year! Modern Family alum Sarah Hyland and Bachelor in Paradise bartender Wells Adams say 2022 will finally be the year they get married. The couple, who got engaged in 2019, have had their nuptials postponed twice due to COVID, but the wait is coming to an end, according to a New Year’s Eve post. Hyland and Adams celebrated the end of 2021 together with some fun photos and a promise that the wedding is finally going to happen in the new year.

Plenty of celebrities like Jennifer Lopez took to social media to ring in the new year with recaps of 2021 while also sharing their hopes for 2022. But Sarah Hyland's post may be one of the most exciting for fans given the anticipation for her walk down the aisle. Check out the Instagram post down below:

The actress wore a plunging beaded and bejeweled dress, and her beau looked sleek in a gray suit, as the fun-loving duo posed suggestively in front of a black-and-gold backdrop. Her caption echoed a Friends sitcom title, pronouncing the new year, “2022: The one where they finally get married.” It has been quite a wait for the couple, who started dating when the bartender slid into the sitcom star's DMs in 2017.

Wells Adams popped the question to Sarah Hyland two years later, in July 2019, and the couple set their wedding for August 2020. But we all know how 2020 went down and, like so many other couples, Hyland and Adams postponed their wedding until their family could all safely gather. They marked what would have been their wedding date with a romantic (and silly) photo shoot and aimed for a summer 2021 ceremony.

They quickly realized the pandemic was going to mess things up for a lot longer than any of us hoped, and in January 2021, Wells Adams addressed their wedding plans on the podcast Click Bait with Bachelor Nation and how his fiancé's health has played into their caution:

The couple seem to be making it out and about again, or at least they were in November before the Omicron variant became a big issue, as they partied with other members of Bachelor Nation at former Bachelor Ben Higgins’ wedding. The occasion doubled as a birthday celebration for Sarah Hyland, who was sure to pose for a picture in front of her “fiancé’s junk,” with Wells Adams going pants-free with a pair of boxers with Higgins’ face all over them. 

The two stars always seem to be having fun together, but it’s obvious that they are ready to make it official and be together as husband and wife. Here’s hoping that 2022 is the year they can make that happen in a safe way.

Thankfully, award show red carpets aren’t the only place TV viewers will see Sarah Hyland in the near future. The actress’ first planned Modern Family follow-up, the fantastical drama Epic, was passed over by ABC during the pilot stage, but it wasn’t long after that bad news was announced that Hyland would be hosting the family-friendly competition special titled Play-Doh Squished, as well as serving as a judge. At this point, the streaming project is just a one-off, but considering Hyland is also one of the executive producers, I wouldn’t be surprised if more episodes were ordered up after the initial debut.

Having recently celebrated her 31st birthday (in part by publicly pointing at Wells Adams’ junk, as it were), Sarah Hyland now has a new look to go with her new-ish age. I wonder if it’ll be the same ‘do the next time the Modern Family cast gets together.

Enter her fiancé Wells Adams, who apparently wore some funny boxers she just had to get up close and personal with. Why not? It was her birthday after all. 

Sarah Hyland’s partner took her publicly posting the underwear photo in stride (pants-free is the way to go these days after all). It seems they were actually been at a wedding when this happened and that the underwear was a wedding party-oriented practical joke. He actually went on to comment underneath her post:

Earlier in the night, Sarah Hyland had taken some other birthday photos with some pals at this wedding shindig that are a funny, but possibly a bit more wholesome than her rubbing up alongside her fiancé’s junk.

I’m honestly happy for the “fiancé” clarification, here. Sarah Hyland and Wells Adams have been together since 2017 and engaged since 2019. Obviously, the pandemic put a wrench in a lot of plans. While it seems like things are getting back to normal -- to the point where the couple attended a wedding on her birthday -- they haven’t officially said “I do” yet. 

Previously, Sarah Hyland said the two had had a date planned when Covid hit. Then they pushed back their wedding to 2021 and now have their sights set on 2022. She told E! earlier this month that they aren’t in a rush and have “got time,” before noting, 

It’s hard when you are a busy actress in a relationship with a popular radio personality and TV host. Time can pass quickly, but from the looks of things the two are still having a whole lot of fun, even if they haven’t officially said “I do” yet.

It’s been just over 18 months since Modern Family capped off its eleven-season run on ABC, which means it’s been a while since TV audiences have seen most of the hyper-talented ensemble cast. (Save for Sofia Vergara, who’s been a whirlwind as a judge on America’s Got Talent.) Breakout star Sarah Hyland was previously attached to a fantastical pilot that unfortunately didn’t move forward, but the actress has locked down her next TV gig, and it sounds like a lot of fun, even if it’s not exactly the most expected follow-up to a hit sitcom.

Sarah Hyland’s fanbase won’t even need to wait until 2022 to see the actress back on the small screen, as she has been tapped to host the all-new family competition special Play-Doh Squished. At this point, the project is just a one-hour special, but it sounds like it’ll be a fun cross between Fox’s LEGO Masters and HBO Max’s Craftopia in being a family-friendly series focusing on creativity and imagination. 

The basic premise here is that three teams will be competing, with each consisting of two kids and two adults, through a series of “fun and highly entertaining physical and creative challenges” that tie into holiday themes and celebrations. I do have to wonder what kind of physical challenges will be involved here. Hopefully someone has to craft a set of barbells that they’ll then have to do bench presses with. Check out the logo below, which definitely looks like it was crafted out of the titular material. 

Sarah Hyland will serve not only as the host of Play-Doh Squished, but also as a judge and executive producer. It’s certainly possible that IMDb TV’s execs will decide to give Play-Doh Squished a full episodic run if the special does well enough, although it’s kind of impossible to know what kind of stats that would require, given the mystery behind streaming ratings. Of course, that’s presuming that Hyland doesn’t have several other TV projects waiting on the horizon. (Who wouldn’t want to see her in Outlander, amirite?)

Fans were pumped to hear that Sarah Hyland's initial Modern Family follow-up was a fairy tale-esque tale titled Epic, with the creators of Once Upon a Time as executive producers. It wasn't entirely clear why ABC decided to pass on Epic, but after a couple of attempts at making the pilot work, the network cut ties and moved on earlier this year.

Play-Doh Squished will debut on IMDb TV, the free streaming service from Amazon that has been building up its profile in big ways during pandemic times. The company has delivered the first TV adaptation of the Alex Rider YA series, as well as the revival of the legal drama Leverage, with ER’s Noah Wyle as a lead. Beyond that, IMDb TV has released a Luke Bryan-fronted docu-series, as well as the upcoming unscripted courtroom series Judy Justice, with Judge Judy Sheindlin holding the gavel once more. Even beyond that, the service is developing new shows from My Name Is Earl’s creator, a spinoff of Prime Video’s Bosch, and a Cruel Intentions TV show, to name just a few. 

While waiting for a televised Modern Family reunion to happen, be sure to tune into Play-Doh Squished on IMDb TV when it makes its streaming debut on Friday, December 10. 

Sarah Hyland was a fixture on ABC for 11 seasons as Modern Family's ditzy sweetheart Haley Dunphy, and while the sitcom’s later seasons were far from ideal for the actress, it looked like Hyland was set to continue her relationship with the network in the fairy tale drama Epic. But in a disappointing move for Hyland and fans alike, ABC's pilot season decisions have been made, and Epic did not make the cut for further development.

Epic was also a promising prospect for the network for being created and executive produced by Once Upon a Time creators Adam Horowitz and Edward Kitsis, but according to Deadline, ABC execs chose to pull the plug on the project altogether. Sarah Hyland was set to star as the princess Rose, and it would have been the first major series for Hyland following Modern Family’s conclusion in 2020. Prior to the award-garnering sitcom's conclusion, Hyland was fairly vocal about her disappointment in Haley’s storylines, and the actress as well as her fans were looking forward to seeing her go all in on a brand new fantastical role, especially with Horowitz and Kitsis’ background in the genre.

Epic was also set to star Brittany O’Grady (Paula in The White Lotus) and Eleanor Fanyinka (Pure and Holby City) in an anthology series that reinvented the fairy tale for a new audience. Brigitte Hales, who was part of the Once Upon a Time writing team, was also on board. It would have been really cool to see what the OUAT-friendly creative team would have done with Sarah Hyland’s modern-day princess and the genre in general, especially considering the freedom that comes with an anthology. Considering the Disney-fied drama did its own reconfiguring with storylines and casting in later years, one might have hoped that ABC would grant them a do-over to create a project more suited to the network's tastes, but apparently not.

Epic was not the only pilot passed on by ABC. Triage, Dark Horse and National Parks Investigation, which was being written and executive produced by Kevin Costner, also were not picked up, while Eve and Brandy's Queens was given the green light. Surely it’s just a part of the business, with pilots being passed on all the time, by every network that still employs that development process. Still, some high-profile projects seem destined for success, and ABC has come under fire already this year for rash decisions concerning its projects' futures.

Rebel, the legal drama starring Katey Sagal and created by Grey’s Anatomy’s Krista Vernoff, was canceled after just five episodes had aired. ABC blamed low ratings for the impulsive axing, while Sagal questioned if the show’s late time slot might have played into it drawing smaller audiences on Thursday nights, even with Grey's Anatomy as a lead-in. Regardless, the cancellation news seemed really fast, considering the success the show’s cast and crew had already brought to ABC through other projects. It's not like Sagal won't be sticking around for The Conners Season 4, but still.

Sarah Hyland’s fans might have to wait a little longer to see her in another TV series, but the actress has definitely been hustling since her days as Haley Dunphy. Since Modern Family ended, Sarah Hyland has also been connected to the multi-camera sitcom Yours, Mine and Paul’s with her Modern Family father Ty Burrell and an EP. She’s also set to star in the upcoming LGBTQ romcom My Fake Boyfriend alongside Keiynan Lonsdale and Dylan Sprouse. And she's also reportedly working on a comedy with Emily V. Gordon that is based on their lives.

Then there’s always the chance Sarah Hyland will make an appearance on the reality show circuit with her fiancé Wells Adams, who is among the guest co-hosts for Season 7 of Bachelor in Paradise, which premieres August 16 on ABC. With Hyland being a longtime superfan of the franchise, it's been rumored that fans might indeed see her on the beach. Working in TV can be an odd thing. Actors and crews go into work day in and day out and see each other -- often for years -- and then one day it’s just all over. There are hugs and goodbyes and then everyone moves on to another project. You can always tell when casts really liked one another because they’ll hang out after a series ends, which is what happened recently when Sarah Hyland, Sofia Vergara and Jesse Tyler Ferguson all reunited for a fun day out. Only they forgot to invite Ariel Winter.

This week, Sarah Hyland took to Instagram to share the look at the picnic event, which featured pups, little ones and several of her former Modern Family co-stars. Everyone looked as if they had a blast in the great outdoors -- even without the full gang being there.

However, the eldest Dunphy sibling may have made a little bit of a social media faux pas, as it seems she forgot to invite her younger TV siblings to the mini-reunion and didn't even try to keep it a secret afterward, even posting about the gathering on the internet! This led Sarah Hyland’s former co-star Ariel Winter to humorously call her big TV sib out with a playful comment, noting (edited for capitalization):

To be fair, the banter on Winter's end was clearly playful here. In the past Sarah Hyland has been great about sharing throwback moments and keeping up with a lot more people from the Modern Family cast, including Nolan Gould and Ariel Winter. It was just a few months ago, in April of this year, that Hyland herself even sent a birthday shoutout to her “little sister,” so they seem to at least be keeping in touch.

As the show was ending, Sarah Hyland also paid tribute to what it meant to be a Dunphy with a very sweet post that also featured pictures of herself alongside Ariel Winter and Nolan Gould.

Modern Family wrapped its run after 11 seasons on ABC back in 2020. At the time, some of the cast didn’t seem to be too happy about the network’s decision to end the series, but there was still a wrap party infused with a lot of emotion (and Green Day to boot). The final episode of Modern Family aired on April 8, 2020 at kind of a weird time, as the world was shut down and more people were spending time on screens than ever.

In the time since, the cast have moved on to other projects, with Sarah Hyland recently making headlines for herself and partner Wells Adams’ alleged Bachelor in Paradise stint as well as having another TV show in the works at ABC called Epic. Ariel Winter has movies Pools and Don't Log Off in the works as well. We'll have to wait and see where everyone from the original cast lands longterm, but it's certainly a new era for everyone involved in the show. The good news? I'm guessing there will be more reunions in the future. Perhaps next time Ariel Winter's "invite" won't get lost in the mail.

Chris Harrison’s longtime gig as host of the Bachelor franchise may have ended dishonorably, but it’s fair to say that Harrison weathered a number of Bachelor Nation storms during his tenure before the split, particularly with the more loosely structured spinoff Bachelor in Paradise. Harrison and the cast somehow overcame the sexual assault scandal from Season 4 that temporarily shut down production, and the former host witnessed countless meltdowns, with gallons of contestant tears shed. Harrison was even the target of some verbal abuse when Season 3 contestant Chad Johnson got kicked out of paradise, so anyone taking his hosting spot will have their work cut out for them.

Now that Harrison has been officially removed from the franchise, who will be helping the Bachelor in Paradise cast navigate those rough waters when Season 7 returns in August? It doesn't seem like the Bachelor's producers are ready to give their final rose to any one new host just yet, as they’re bringing a variety of celebrity guest hosts who will alternate duties. The diverse selection of temporary hosts indicates The Bachelor's powers that be might not be exactly sure which direction they want to take the franchise, but it’s going to be a lot of fun while they figure it out, judging by these names. Let's take a look at everyone who has been announced by ABC as guest hosts for the upcoming season of Bachelor in Paradise.

David Spade

Longtime Bachelor fan David Spade caught fans’ attention with his hilarious (and R-rated) Instagram commentary, and what makes the choice so interesting is that Spade absolutely loves to make fun of the show and its contestants. I don’t think the Joe Dirt and Tommy Boy funnyman will be the shoulder to cry on that past contestants got in Chris Harrison, but more intentional humor and self-awareness on Bachelor in Paradise are definitely things I’ll show up for. As far as hosting goes, the format shouldn’t be a problem for the Saturday Night Live alum, who most recently hosted his own beloved late-night talk show, Lights Out with David Spade, in 2019 and 2020 before COVID-19 shut everything down.

Lil Jon

Lil Jon is not the obvious choice for Chris Harrison’s successor, but I’m here for this, OKAY?!? The rapper may just be the hype man that paradise never knew it needed. This stint won’t even be Lil Jon’s first appearance within the franchise, either, as he was first featured on an episode of The Bachelorette’s Season 14, during a one-on-one date between Becca Kufrin and eventual Bachelor in Paradise villain Blake Horstmann. Lil Jon provided the music and moral support as Becca and Blake took their rage out on a race car, champagne bottles, TVs and more. I’d love to see Lil Jon inject some MTV Spring Break vibes into the show's casual, lounging atmosphere.

Lance Bass

Lance Bass of NSYNC fame is definitely a fun choice for Bachelor in Paradise guest host. Let’s be honest — pretty much every NSYNC song could be a tag line for the Bachelor franchise. "Bye Bye Bye," "It’s Gonna Be Me," "Dirty Pop," and the list goes on, amirite? The former boy-bander’s hosting experience comes via his radio show, Dirty Pop with Lance Bass, which provided insight into the pop music industry. He’s also made numerous guest appearances, mostly as himself, on TV and film over the years, including an episode of Netflix’s competition show The Circle. And if you remember the pop culture enigma On the Line from 2001, you know that looking for love is right in Bass' wheelhouse.

Tituss Burgess

This multi-hyphenate is a big win for the Bachelor franchise. Perhaps best known as the randomly musical Titus Andromedon on Netflix’s Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, Tituss Burgess has touched all corners of the entertainment industry, from Broadway performances to releasing music albums to multiple appearances on the big and small screens. He's also hosted taken on hosting duties before, heading up the Netflix gameshow Sing On! in 2020. Burgess isn’t the type to shy away from any topic on the planet, so I’m excited to see him interact with the franchise alums in Bachelor in Paradise's carefree environment. I can totally see Burgess providing (presumably high-volume) empowerment to the love-seekers, and his overall presence is so enjoyable to watch.

Wells Adams and Sarah Hyland (Rumored)

Though this news has not yet been confirmed, the rumored involvement of Wells Adams and his fiancee Sarah Hyland, seems destined to happen. Adams has been a Bachelor in Paradise mainstay, first as a contestant in Season 3, and since then as the resort’s trusty bartender, while the former Modern Family actress is a longtime Bachelor superfan who connected with Adams on Instagram after watching him on JoJo Fletcher’s season of The Bachelorette. The couple started dating in 2017, but had to postpone their wedding in 2020 due to COVID. Would an impromptu beach wedding be out of the question? Anything can happen in paradise.

Chris Harrison’s exit from Bachelor Nation came after racial controversy surrounded the 25th season of The Bachelor, in which Matt James — the first Black lead in the series’ history — vied for love. The ultimate “winner” of the season was Rachael Kirkconnell, who became mired in a backlash after past photos of her at an Antebellum party resurfaced during the season’s airing. Harrison overtly defended Kirkconnell in an interview with Rachel Lindsay, who was the Bachelor franchise's first Black lead for The Bachelorette Season 13. After making a public apology in which he admitted the interview "perpetuates racism,” Harrison took a step back from the franchise, and the break became permanent.

Bachelor in Paradise has always been the less-serious, less-structured Bachelor Nation spinoff, and the choices for guest hosts seem to back that theory up. While The Bachelorette chose former contestants Tayshia Adams and Kaitlyn Bristowe to host Katie Thurston’s current season, this selection of alternating celeb hosts should breathe new life into Bachelor in Paradise, and I’ll be tuning in. The Bachelorette airs at 8 p.m. ET on Mondays on ABC, and Bachelor in Paradise is set to premiere Aug. 16. Sarah Hyland was a fixture on the small screen for more than a decade thanks to her role as Haley Dunphy on Modern Family. ABC was her network home for all eleven seasons of the hit comedy, and now Hyland is returning to her old ABC stomping grounds for what could be her next big show. The new project will see Hyland team up with more ABC veterans for something completely different than anything else on network television.

The Modern Family alum will star in a fairytale drama pilot called Epic, and it hails from a team that knows how to bring fairytale whimsy to primetime: Adam Horowitz and Edward Kitsis of Once Upon a Time fame. Deadline reports that Sarah Hyland will play a princess by the name of Rose, who is about to marry her Prince Charming.

Much like Snow White from Once Upon a Time, marrying Prince Charming won't happen without a hitch. Unlike Snow from OUAT, Rose might not marry her prince at all, as her prince will have second thoughts. As a response, Rose will try to preserve her dreams and find herself open to an unexpected world.

If it receives a series order beyond the pilot, Epic will be a romantic anthology series aiming to reinvent fairy tales for new audiences, so it's possible that Sarah Hyland's Rose won't be the kind of princess who wears ballgowns and tiaras, but only time will tell. The project also stars Brittany O'Grady of Star fame and Eleanor Fanyinka of Pure and Holby City.There is no news just yet about who might play Rose's Prince Charming, but Epic is currently only in the pilot stage, and the pilot is reportedly not in consideration for the 2021 fall TV season.

The Once Upon a Time creators will be joined by Brigitte Hales, who wrote for their former fairytale show, which ran for seven seasons and came to an end in 2018. Adam Horowitz, Edward Kitsis, and Hales will all serve as executive producers on Epic. James Griffiths, who has directed episodes of other ABC series like Stumptown and A Million Little Things, will direct the pilot.

There is no guarantee at this point that the pilot will receive a series order, but the project has already brought together some ABC veterans with plenty of experience with hit TV shows. Sarah Hyland took to Twitter to celebrate the news of her new role, and her spoiler-free gif choice couldn't be more perfect. Take a look:

Epic isn't the first TV project that Sarah Hyland has been attached to since the end of Modern Family, but definitely the first one that has set her up to play a princess. If Epic scores a series order and Hyland makes her debut as Rose, then ABC viewers will presumably see a very different side of her as an actress than they saw on Modern Family. Something tells me that Princess Rose will be quite different from Haley Dunphy!

If you want proof that celebrities are just fans too, look no further than Sarah Hyland. The Modern Family actress is sporting a fresher redhead look, and it's all thanks to Outlander (or should we say Droughtlander).

Sarah Hyland is a natural brunette, but she has officially gone red for a new look. Hyland revealed that her new red hair is because she just “watched all of Outlander for a second time.” Here's the photo of her new ‘do on Instagram:

Many will recognize the similar hair coloring to Outlander's Jamie Fraser (played by Sam Heughan), and Sarah Hyland is apparently a big fan of the time travel period piece. Outlander shot into prominence in 2014, thanks in no small part to the head-over-heels steamy relationship between Claire (Caitriona Balfe) and Jamie. The show, which began as a series of books written by Diana Gabaldon, had all the ingredients for an epic romance: beautiful actors pulling great performances and, well, a lot of naughty sex scenes (there were some historical bits in there as well).

Outlander finished up its fifth season on Starz back in May. This actually coincided near the same time that Sarah Hyland's long-running show Modern Family had its series finale. So according to the math, Hyland re-watched all five seasons, or 67 episodes. It's no wonder she took Outlander inspiration for her newfound style.

At the beginning of quarantine in May, Sarah Hyland had actually dyed her hair a brighter pinkish red. Over the course of months that followed, though, it seemed Hyland fell back into her traditional darker hues.

The rest of the Outlander fanbase may not be as drastic as Sarah Hyland in their love of the show, but they still show up and show out. (My grandmother has rewatched the show countless times and was even given a life-size cardboard cut-out of Jamie for her birthday.) Droughtlander, an endearing term used to describe when there are no new episodes, can clearly still be felt.

Though Season 5 and 6 were greenlit by Starz at the same time in 2018, production for Season 6 of Outlander was postponed like many shows because of the coronavirus pandemic this past year. But Starz recently released a teaser trailer confirming that filming was beginning for the new next season. It's both good news and bad news, because that means Droughtlander could extend into 2022.

ABC looks a little different this fall now that veteran comedy series Modern Family is no longer part of its programming lineup. The long-running sitcom finished its eleven-season run earlier this year with an emotional send-off for Jay Pritchett and his family. The cameras may no longer be rolling, but that doesn’t mean the cast doesn’t take the time to hang out and catch up. The was the case when a few Modern Family alums reunited for Jesse Tyler Ferguson’s birthday celebration.

Jesse Tyler Ferguson recently tweeted about his 45th birthday bash, relishing that he was spending it with some of his former co-stars and friends. The intimate gathering was attended by fellow Modern Family stars Julie Bowen, Sarah Hyland and Sofia Vergara, with Joe Manganiello, Vergara’s husband also in attendance. One can’t help but smile at the sight of some of the Modern Family cast back together again. And the co-stars seemed to enjoy their time together celebrating Jesse Tyler Ferguson’s day. Sofia Vergara shared the same group photo on her own Instagram account, making note of it being the “first Modern Fam reunion”:

After working with a group of people for over a decade, it’s understandable that you would miss your friends, and it’s nice to see the Modern Family stars had some time to link up. This is even more special given the unusual times we’re living in and the fact that the cast has been quite busy since the show wrapped.

Sofia Vergara has entered the realm of reality competition TV as a judge on America’s Got Talent. Earlier this year, Julie Bowen was tapped to star in a CBS pilot for a mutli-camera comedy called Raised By Wolves. As of right now, it’s unclear if the pilot has been ordered to series. Meanwhile, Sarah Hyland has also remained in her comedy roots and is set to headline ABC comedy Yours, Mine & Paul’s, which is coincidentally being executive produced by her Modern Family dad, Ty Burrell.

With such busy schedules, one has to wonder how the Modern Family group is even able to find the time to get together. Still, as close as they are, they likely make spending time together a priority, and they seem to have plenty of fun whenever they’re in each other’s company.

Modern Family ended earlier this year after eleven seasons, capping a primetime run that relatively few scripted shows get to reach, and star Sarah Hyland is no doubt hoping that the rest of her career is filled with similar successes. Perhaps we'll all soon get to find out, as Hyland has now landed her first big Modern Family follow-up project, and she'll once again be teaming up with her former TV father Ty Burrell.

It looks like Sarah Hyland will be sticking with familiar territory at ABC for the in-development comedy Yours, Mine & Paul, which is set to be a multi-camera project, as opposed to the single-camera format that Modern Family took. The story follows Sarah Hyland as Lauren, an impulse-happy millennial who isn't quite as life-informed as she believes. She gets caught up in quite the uncomfortable situation when she says yes to becoming a surrogate for her best friend Paul and his husband Xander. For one, the series' very first scene would feature Paul's death, and for another, it would soon be revealed that Lauren and Xander totally hate each other's guts.

In fact, part of the reason why Sarah Hyland's Lauren agreed to the surrogate deal is because she wanted to pull Paul's attention away from Xander (which is a wildly outside-the-box approach). That same part of Lauren was intrigued by the idea of spending those nine months of pregnancy as the center of attention in general, and that in the end, taking care of the child would be someone else's responsibility. But after Paul dies, Lauren has to face the likelihood that she will not only be a full-time mother, but she'll be co-parenting with someone she loathes. I really feel sorry for the kid in this situation.

Interestingly enough, Sarah Hyland had previously spoken about being somewhat disappointed with the final season of Modern Family for setting her character Haley up with stereotypical TV motherhood plots, rather than changing the storytelling up. One has to assume that Yours, Mine & Paul writer Julia Meltzer, who is also a co-EP, must have really nailed it in a way that made going through another sitcom pregnancy worth it for Hyland.

Yours, Mine & Paul will have Ty Burrell on board as an executive producer, though we can always hope that he'll pop up for an on-screen cameo if the project gets picked up to series. This marks the first sale for Burrell's recently established production company Desert Whale Prods., which has a first-look deal with 20th Century Fox TV. According to Deadline, the project has gotten a lot of attention with Burrell shopping it around, and ABC was reportedly quite happy to lock it down, especially with the fan-favorite Sarah Hyland front and center.

Of course, Modern Family isn't the only TV project that Sarah Hyland has kept herself busy with in the past decade. In the past few years, she's made limited appearances in a wide variety of shows, from Shadowhunters to Veronica Mars to the Dirty Dancing TV movie to RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars. On the big screen, she'd most recently starred in and executive produced the 2019 romantic comedy The Wedding Year. It's not clear if this project's existence means that Hyland's previously announced comedy with Emily V. Gordon isn't happening anymore.

Modern Family has come to a close on ABC after a mighty 11 seasons, and the end of an era means the end of the cast needing to look a certain way to play their characters. Ariel Winter, a.k.a. Alex Dunphy, was the first to radically change her appearance, and now her on-screen sister has gone for a hair change as well. Sarah Hyland, who played Haley Dunphy for the whole run of Modern Family, looks quite different from Haley nowadays!

While Ariel Winter went for more of a strawberry blonde shade when she dyed her hair, Sarah Hyland went full red! In fact, her shade of red is so vibrant that it's easy to understand why she quoted one of the most famous lines from The Little Mermaid's "Part of Your World" in her caption. Winter may be the actual "Ariel" in the Modern Family fam, but Hyland could pull off the look of Disney's most iconic mermaid since dyeing her hair!

According to Sarah Hyland's caption, she actually managed to dye her hair that shade of red herself! Given current events that have people staying at home and social distancing, Hyland isn't the only person making changes to their hair without the aid of a professional. All things considered, I'd say she did a pretty good job, especially considering how dark her hair was in her Haley Dunphy days.

Of course, if a Modern Family spinoff centered on Haley does eventually happen, Sarah Hyland may be called upon to go back to her brunette look. Then again, Modern Family itself didn't end on a flash-forward, so a potential spinoff could do pretty much anything with Haley without contradicting anything in the finale. Haley was seemingly set up as an ideal character for a spinoff, although the Modern Family co-showrunner has stated that a spinoff would probably revolve around multiple characters.

That said, Sarah Hyland did share previously that she was disappointed with one aspect of Modern Family's final season, although her sweet throwback post does suggest that she thinks fondly on her years as Haley Dunphy despite dealing with some unwanted public attention due to her appearance.

When it premiered in 2009, Modern Family went from critical favorite to one of the most popular and award-winning shows on TV. The acclaimed show, filmed in the mockumentary style that was popularized from the American remake of The Office, featured a delightful ensemble, sharp writing, and a lot of lovable moments. The series lasted 11 seasons, and it turned Sofia Vergara, Ariel Winter and others into famous celebrities all while continuing to build upon Ed O'Neill's towering television legacy, but everything must end at some point. As Modern Family concluded, several actors found their next projects while some other cast members left their future uncertain. Let's take a look at what we know about these award-winning actors and see what they're looking to pursue next.

Ty Burrell (Phil Dunphy)

Playing Phil Dunphy, the patriarch of the Dunphy family, Ty Burrell found his most well-recognized role in Modern Family. The actor rose to prominence through a Broadway run of Macbeth and several off-broadway plays, as well as roles in Black Hawk Down and the Dawn of the Dead remake, but this series is what helped Burrell turn into a household name. Since appearing in Modern Family, Burrell also booked roles in Finding Dory, Storks, Muppets Most Wanted, Rough Night, and a title role in Mr. Peabody & Sherman. Now that his two-time Emmy-winning role in Modern Family is over, Burrell has booked his next role. He provides his voice to the new animated series, Duncanville, where he serves as a regular player.

Julie Bowen (Claire Dunphy)

An established film and TV actress before she joined the cast of Modern Family, Julie Bowen was known for starring in Happy Gilmore, Lost, Dawson's Creek, Boston Legal, and Ed, to name a few titles, before she joined the popular sitcom, but it became her most famous role to date. As the matriarch Claire Dunphy, Bowen won two Emmy awards for her performance in the series. Now that the show has concluded, Bowen has a couple titled lined up next. The first is Hubie Halloween, the newest Adam Sandler Netflix comedy, which is set to come out later this year. Bowen is also attached to Raised By Wolves, the new CBS multi-camera comedy series from the creators of Will & Grace. Though there might've been speculation that she'd quit acting after Modern Family's series finale, that's evidently not the case.

Sofia Vergara (Gloria Delgado-Pritchett)

As Gloria Delgado-Pritchett, the significantly younger wife to Jay Pritchett, Sofia Vergara's profile skyrocketed thanks to the success of Modern Family. The Colombian-American actress became one of the highest paid actresses on television for several years through her Emmy-nominated performance. The former Univision co-host found herself in The Smurfs, New Year's Eve, Machete Kills, The Three Stooges, Chef, Hot Pursuit, Happy Feet Two, The Emoji Movie, and more following the show's success, and she'll continue to be a friendly face on television. Now that Modern Family has aired its final episode, Vergara has lined up her next TV gig. She'll join America's Got Talent as a judge during its 15th season. She has also done endorsements for several companies since she found international fame through Modern Family.

Ed O'Neill (Jay Pritchett)

Previously best known for playing Al Bundy in Married... With Children, O'Neill was already a comedy titan when he starred in Modern Family, though the series gave his television career a great second wave. Having also appeared in the Wayne's World movies and Little Giants, O'Neill got a plush role in this hit series and it renewed his career enormously. Since the award-winning series premiered, O'Neill has also done voice work for Wreck-It Ralph, Ralph Breaks the Internet, and Finding Dory. As Modern Family came to a close after eleven seasons, O'Neill hasn't lined up any new acting gigs, though he's soon set to be seen in the indie comedy, The Last Shift, which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival earlier this year. As for the next project, he admitted on Ellen that he's "going along" and figuring it out in due time.

Jesse Tyler Ferguson (Mitchell Pritchett)

Playing Mitchell Pritchett, the husband of Cameron Tucker and Lily's father, Jesse Tyler Ferguson found himself in a major television hit with this role. The performance was nominated for five Emmy awards and it certainly helped his profile, though he was previously well-known for his standout work in The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, which became a huge Broadway sensation. Recently, Ferguson found himself on Broadway again in the 2016 production of Fully Committed. He also lent his voice to the audiobook, A Day in the Life of Marlon Bundo, from 2018, and he appeared in Taylor Swift's 2019 music video for "You Need To Calm Down." He also voiced a character in Ice Age: Collision Course, and he appeared on Project Runway and Drop the Mic. Now that Modern Family has concluded, Ferguson will be the new host of Extreme Makeover: Home Edition.

Eric Stonestreet (Cameron Tucker)

Eric Stonestreet was a hard-working actor who finally found his big break with Modern Family. Playing Cameron Tucker, Mitchell Pritchett's husband and Lily's other father, Stonestreet won two Emmys and gained wide acclaim for his beloved performance. Since Modern Family, Stonestreet has also been seen or heard in American Horror Story, Monk, Identity Thief, Bad Teacher, The Loft, You're Not A Monster, and The Secret Life of Pets 1 & 2. Now that Modern Family is finished, Stonestreet doesn't currently have any upcoming acting roles formally announced, though he's taking Heidi Klum's place on America's Got Talent's fifteenth season as a guest judge. He was also recently seen on the revival of Who Wants to Be A Millionaire.

Sarah Hyland (Haley Dunphy)

As Haley Dunphy, the eldest Dunphy daughter, Sarah Hyland found her claim to fame with Modern Family. The young actress, who had previously appeared in minor roles in Private Parts and Annie, found herself in this acclaimed ensemble and it opened a few new doors. Since the show began, Hyland has been seen in Geek Charming, Scary Movie 5, Struck By Lightning, Vampire Academy, XOXO, and the Dirty Dancing remake — to name a few projects. Now that Modern Family has come to a close, Hyland is looking to pursue her next project. Specifically, Hyland is attached to headline and produce a forthcoming ABC comedy series from Oscar-nominated screenwriter Emily V. Gordon (The Big Sick) and This Is Us co-showrunners Isaac Aptaker and Elizabeth Berger. Not much is known about the untitled series at this time. Hyland also recently did a single with Jordan McGraw.

Ariel Winter (Alex Dunphy)

Playing the part of Alex Dunphy, the middle child of the fame, Ariel Winter grew in prominence and fame through her work on the popular ABC series. Thanks to Modern Family, Winter has elevated her career in a number of ways, though she primarily works as a voice actress nowadays. She has lent her voice to the lead role in Sofia the First, as well as Final Fantasy games, Phineas And Ferb, Smurfs: The Lost Village, Mr. Peabody & Sherman (also starring Ty Burrell), Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs, and ParaNorman, to name a few projects. She'll next be heard in the lead role of Little Audrey.

Rico Rodriguez (Manny Delgado)

In his calling card role, former child actor Rico Rodriguez became a household name when he played Manny Delgado, Gloria's sweet-natured son from another marriage, in Modern Family. Though he appeared in Cory in the House, Nip/Tuck, My Name is Earl, iCarly, Epic Movie, and NCIS in minor roles before his time in the popular ABC sitcom, his scene-stealing character made him an adorable favorite on the series, helping the actor find parts in The Muppets, Austin & Ally, and Good Luck Charlie, among other roles. Also, in 2012, the young actor published his memoir, Reel Life Lessons... So Far, which he authored alongside Laura Morton. With the series concluded, Rodriguez currently doesn't have any other roles announced presently, but the actor did recently appear in an episode of Nickelodeon's reality TV program, The Substitute.

Nolan Gould (Luke Dunphy)

In the role of Luke Dunphy, the youngest Dunphy sibling, Nolan Gould was a consistent presence throughout Modern Family. Though he hasn't found the same notoriety as his co-stars, Gould has found several new acting projects since appearing on this popular series. The same year Modern Family hit television, Gould was seen in Space Buddies, and he has been seen in Friends with Benefits, The To Do List, Good Luck Charlie, and more since then. He also made an appearance as himself in a 2014 episode of Whose Line Is It Anyway? Next, Gould has a role in Yes and he'll appear in What's Up North. He's expected to be seen in the comedy-drama, Camp. He's also been doing more music videos lately.

Aubrey Anderson-Emmons (Lily Tucker-Pritchett)

As Lily Tucker-Pritchett, the sweet young daughter of Cameron and Mitchell, Aubrey Anderson-Emmons played a more prominent role in the series as it went along. The show remains her only acting credit outside of a 2014 short film, though she has build a presence on YouTube. Specifically, Anderson-Emmons does the segment FoodMania Review with her mom, Amy. They started making videos in 2015 and they have over a million views and 19,000 subscribers.

Jeremy Maguire (Joe Pritchett)

As Joe Pritchett, the son of Jay and Gloria, Jeremy Maguire became an adorable addition to Modern Family from Season 4 onward. Outside of this show, Maguire has appeared in The Last Ship and 2017's I'm Not There. He'll next appear in the comedy-drama film, The Virgin of Highland Park. He also regularly makes videos on his YouTube account.

Reid Ewing (Dylan Marshall)

Though he only played a supporting role during the early seasons of Modern Family, Reid Ewing found himself playing a main role in the show's 11th and final season. In the role of Dylan, a love interest Haley Dunphy, the character became an endearing presence throughout the show's run, proving himself to be the man for Haley as the show progressed forward. Now that Modern Family is done, the actor-musician currently doesn't have any new acting roles announced yet. There was potentially talk of a spin-off series that would feature Ewing more prominently, but that potential series has not been announced in any official capacity — and it's hard to know if it'll ever come to be. After an 11-season run, Modern Family said goodbye with a warm group hug. With the various members of the Pritchett family headed their separate ways, the long-running sitcom capped things off with a two-part finale that managed to avoid flash-forwards, but included a ton of heart. Knowing that the series was ending, Modern Family’s Sarah Hyland shared some awesome throwback pictures of the cast to celebrate the series finale.

Sarah Hyland’s Haley Dunphy came a long way from her early days on Modern Family. As one of the resident goofballs of the series, Haley transformed from an expelled college student to a budding fashion designer and potential photographer, though both careers never really took off on the show. In a captioned Instagram post, Hyland recently revealed that she’d had an “incredible journey” while working on the show, and included several fantastic pictures of the cast throughout the years to commemorate the end. Check out her post, below!

The pictures are pretty great because they tell the story of the cast throughout the seasons of the show. The photos range from fun on-set poses, warm hugs between co-stars, and award show shenanigans. They’ve all grown so much and, while Sarah Hyland will miss everyone a lot now that Modern Family is over, she was “so grateful” that she got to work with such a stupendous cast.

However, Sarah Hyland was recently candid about her feelings regarding Modern Family’s final season and admitted that she wasn't too thrilled with the way Haley’s storyline ultimately turned out. Specifically, Hyland had wanted to see Haley “own her badassery in the fashion world” and be successful at both her career and being a mom. Unfortunately, that wasn’t the way it turned out on the show.

Modern Family may be over, but there are early discussions with ABC for a potential spinoff, one that will revolve around more than one character. I’m not sure whether Sarah Hyland would want to come back for a spinoff, but it might be fun for the series to follow through on Haley’s career. That is, if the spinoff ever gets off the ground.

For now, viewers can at least rest easy knowing that Modern Family reached its natural end, having filmed its series finale prior to the shutdowns that have delayed other TV shows and their respective seasons. Series like Supernatural and Empire, which were both coming up on their series finales, got short-changed due to the production stoppage. Meanwhile, already renewed series like Superstore and Grey’s Anatomy will likely wrap up unfinished season arcs at a later point in time, when work can begin on their new seasons.

Modern Family will soon be coming to an end on ABC, bringing its highly successful run to an end after eleven seasons. For the sitcom's younger generation, Modern Family's ending means there's an opportunity for everyone to go off and truly take advantage of their now-heightened fame. (Not that Sofia Vergara waited very long to take a new job.) Such as Sarah Hyland, whose time on the show took a less enjoyable turn in the final season.

As many viewers probably noticed, Sarah Hyland's Haley hasn't been featured nearly as much in Season 11 as she was in Modern Family's first decade on the air. That, along with the creators' decision to give Haley a one-note parenting storyline, led Hyland to be somewhat disappointed with her character's final turnout, according to her interview with Cosmopolitan. Here's what Hyland would have wanted to see from her character in the final season:

Indeed, considering Modern Family started off as a show that reversed a lot of sitcom stereotypes with its multi-generational storytelling, and nontraditional relationships, the series inevitably ended up falling into a lot of the same traps that it seemingly avoided early on. One of those tropes would be to have one of the female stars go through a pregnancy and motherhood storyline without any further efforts to evolve the character beyond that matriarchal role.

And it's not like Haley even served as a proper matriarch during her time as a mom on Modern Family, considering Claire and Gloria have been intent on raining their own motherly instincts down upon twins George and Poppy. In any case, Sarah Hyland still wanted to see more from Haley.

Not that she has anything against the idea of being a mother in general. Her argument is more about how the role of being a mother isn't the only way that women can show how powerful and successful they are. Here's how Hyland put it:

Indeed. Haley has often been played up as the goofball who definitely shares more DNA with her doofus father Phil (along with Luke), while Ariel Winter's Alex takes after Claire a lot more. Narratively, it would have made sense to take Haley to more successful places business-wise by the end of Modern Family's run, rather than simply having her be a loving mom with her fellow goofball Dylan. Not that there's anything wrong with that.

Sarah Hyland doesn't even get the scripts for episodes that Haley doesn't appear in. Which is why she didn't even learn that her fictional grandfather, played by the great Fred Willard, had been killed off on the show until she actually watched the episode when it aired. That couldn't have been the best way to inspire confidence in anyone.

Modern Family's series finale will air on ABC on Wednesday, April 8, at 9 p.m. ET. For those hoping to see reruns on Disney+ at some point, it might be happening soon, based on surveys sent to certain users.

The Masked Singer Season 3 has just concluded Group B, and we now know which singers will (and won't) be advancing to the final 9. Among them is one "catty" competitor who looks like she'll be in the late rounds of the competition (though nothing is guaranteed): The Kitty. Kitty has impressed in her first three weeks on the Fox series, but who is that under the mask?

The Kitty is talented, and truthfully, one of the more mysterious competitors we've seen in the competition so far. Guessing her identity will not be easy, though I think there are some clues that definitely whittle things down and allow viewers to feel a bit more certain about her identity. First, let's go over the clues, and see if that can't remove some popular suggestions from the equation.

The Clues

The first clue video for The Kitty was decked out in old Hollywood imagery. Her wish was to "wipe the slate clean as pure as snow," and Kitty mentioned people think about the person she used to be rather than the person she is now. It was a pretty vague clue package by The Masked Singer's typical standards, but hey, I can appreciate a little obscurity in the early rounds.

More specific clues rolled out in the second video package, in which The Kitty said sewing was one of her favorite things to do. There were lots of fabrics and dresses around, and The Kitty noted that watching transformations is something she can relate to. Finally, The Kitty revealed she can be a bit nerdy, and that she sold sci-fi stories she wrote for a quarter.

The third clue package for The Kitty spoke to her "BFF," who she's known since she was a little kitten. She revealed The Kitty has always had a flair for drama, and once got detention for saying she could see ghosts and scaring a classmate. There was a little more talk about a "dark side," which the BFF said Kitty will use to slay the competition.

So far, The Kitty is one of the harder people to nail down in this competition. Even fans on the internet, who are typically unified in a response, are all over the place and can't reach a consensus on this one. With that said, here are some of the popular guesses I'm keeping an eye on, followed by my ultimate guess on who this person may be.

Sarah Hyland

If you're someone who has kept up with Modern Family over the years, you almost certainly know Sarah Hyland. The Haley Dunphy actress has also had a good deal of other television and film roles in her career. With Modern Family coming to an end, she likely had some down time in her typically busy schedule, so why wouldn't she have some fun with The Masked Singer in the meantime? Especially with her singing voice, which she's showcased a few times on YouTube.

Jennifer Love Hewitt

Long-time actress Jennifer Love Hewitt is notorious for her work in film and television, and is even on the Fox series 9-1-1. The Masked Singer has a clear track record of tapping Fox employees for the program, so I can certainly see how there are people jumping on the bandwagon. Hewitt also had a musical career in her younger years, so she's got the pipes to justify her being The Kitty. Hewitt hasn't been in the music industry since 2013, though, so it would be quite the comeback to see her belting songs now.

Lucy Hale

Yet another actress is in discussion for The Masked Singer's Kitty, and it's not hard to see why people are eyeing Lucy Hale. She's got the horror bit down via her roles in Truth Or Dare and the recent remake of Fantasy Island. She's also a pretty damn good singer, and had a studio album out in 2014 called Road Between. She's got a career very similar to the two other actresses in this lineup, so it's easy to see how she wound up in this conversation.

Who We Think It Is

I can appreciate The Masked Singer fandom for not going all hive-mind and keeping other options in the mix, but I think everyone had it right the first time. The Kitty is Sarah Hyland, and there's very little evidence to the contrary that will change my mind.

In regards to the first clue package, Sarah Hyland comes from a family of actors. This may be why there was so much imagery of old Hollywood, though Hyland's parents are definitely not old enough to justify footage from that far back. The Kitty mentioned issues with people thinking of her as the person she was, as opposed to the person she is now. This certainly feels like a reference to Hyland's time on Modern Family, in which audiences saw her grow up on screen. Finally, there's the shattered rose, which I think is a reference to Hyland's current fiance and former contestant on The Bachelorette, Wells Adams.

Then there's the second clue video, in which she talks about the "modern dress for a family member's ball." Jenny McCarthy was quick to point out that was a potential connection to Modern Family, as she should, because it feels like an obvious nod to the series.

I also think you can make an argument in the third clue package that the BFF of The Kitty looks very similar to Ariel Winter in terms of body type. The two grew up together, so it makes sense she'd know a lot about Sarah Hyland's life. The two also made a tribute to The Shining on Instagram a while back, which I technically think counts as Hyland directing a horror movie. The evidence is all here for Hyland, so The Masked Singer viewers just need to stick with their gut on this one.

Modern Family will conclude with the Season 11 finale in April, which marks the end of an era for ABC. The network was home to a series that was a critical darling during its height and kept on going for its fans. Remarkably, the Modern Family regulars who debuted back in Season 1 remain on board as Season 11 comes to and end. Now is the time to look back at Modern Family Season 1 and see how the cast has changed by Season 11.

The Modern Family cast matured from Season 1 to Season 11, with the kids grown into young adults and much of the cast enjoying career opportunities that they likely would not have gotten if not for the super successful sitcom. Let's start with the man who had the most sitcom experience coming in to Modern Family Season 1: Ed O'Neill.

Ed O'Neill (Jay Pritchett)

Best known prior to Modern Family as Al Bundy of Married... with Children, Ed O'Neill plays the Modern Family patriarch Jay Pritchett. 63-years-old when Modern Family Season 1 launched back on September 23, 2009, O'Neill will be just shy of 74 when the Modern Family series finale airs. Jay went through a lot of changes over the years as he became more accepting and more... well, modern as a husband, father, and grandfather.

Ed O'Neill proved his comedy chops weren't limited to Married... with Children on Modern Family, as Jay evolved over the years without losing the ability to deliver laughs. He was nominated for Best Supporting Actor at the Emmys three times thanks to Modern Family. He mostly stuck with Modern Family for work since 2009, although he has done plenty of voice work, with roles ranging from Zyrtec commercials to Wreck-It Ralph to Finding Dory.

Julie Bowen (Claire Dunphy)

Julie Bowen was an accomplished TV actress prior to playing Claire on Modern Family Season 1 thanks to Ed and Boston Legal. Claire shifted over the years from housewife to working mom to now grandmother of a couple of twins. Bowen herself gave birth to twins in 2009, and her baby bump is visible for eagle-eyed viewers of the pilot. 39-years-old when that pilot aired, Bowen is now 50. She divorced from her husband in 2018, but remains "very good friends" with him.

Julie Bowen did a lot of voice work during Modern Family's run, with projects like DuckTales and Tangled: The Series. That said, she also has live-action films like Horrible Bosses (2011) and Knife Fight (2012) to her name. Modern Family is undeniably her biggest critical success, with six consecutive Emmy nominations for Outstanding Supporting Actress, with Bowen taking home the trophy in 2011 and 2012.

Ty Burrell (Phil Dunphy)

The 52-year-old Ty Burrell has spent 11 seasons tackling the role of Phil Dunphy, the goofy dad of the Dunphy crew with a big heart and inconvenient fear of clowns. His bond with his kids changed as they grew up, but his marriage with Claire remained strong. Burrell worked as a voice actor throughout Modern Family's run, with roles in Finding Dory and the 2020 animated sitcom Duncanville. He also had some live-action appearances, with Muppets Most Wanted in 2014 and episodes of Key and Peele.

Notably, Ty Burrell signed a deal with 20th Century Fox TV in 2014 to develop comedy projects, and he produced and starred in the web series Boondoggle, which scored him an Emmy nom for Short Form Comedy in 2017. 42-years-old when Modern Family Season 1 premiered in 2009, Burrell accumulated eight Emmy nominations for Outstanding Supporting Actor, winning in 2011 and 2014.

Sofia Vergara (Gloria Delgado)

Sofia Vergara debuted on Modern Family as Gloria Delgado at 37, playing the much-younger Colombian wife of Jay Pritchett, mother of Manny and eventually Joe. Gloria is traditional and superstitious, but deeply loving of her family. For Modern Family, Vergara has been nominated for the Outstanding Supporting Actress Emmy four times. Vergara (now 47) largely appeared in live-action during her Modern Family stint, including Hot Pursuit in 2015 with Reese Witherspoon and Bottom of the Ninth in 2019 with husband Joe Manganiello.

Back in 2019, Deadline reported Sofia Vergara as set to star and produce an untitled female ensemble comedy film. Her first major project following the end of Modern Family will see her move from ABC to NBC as a new judge on America's Got Talent. Vergara has stated that she's "extremely proud to be the first Latin judge on the show."

Jesse Tyler Ferguson (Mitchell Pritchett)

The youngest of the adult cast at 34 when Modern Family Season 1 premiered in 2009, Jesse Tyler Ferguson (now 44) has played the gay son of Jay, brother of Claire, husband of Cam, and father of Lily. Originally high-strung and struggling with his relationship with his father, Mitchell was able to loosen up and embrace his family as the years passed. Ferguson primarily stayed off the big screen over the past decade, with TV roles on shows like Hot in Cleveland and Nightcap.

Jesse Tyler Ferguson managed to squeeze in some musical theater productions during his years on Modern Family, and certainly not small roles. Ferguson also appeared in Taylor Swift's "You Need To Calm Down" music video. He and his husband are expecting their first child this year. He joins his Modern Family costars in stacking up the Outstanding Supporting Actor Emmy nominations, with five to his name.

Eric Stonestreet (Cameron Tucker)

Eric Stonestreet was 38 when Modern Family launched in 2009, and Cam proved to be a devoted husband and father, a lover of farms, and a clown enthusiast with a clown alter ego by the name of Fizbo. Prior to Modern Family, Stonestreet (now 49) mostly landed one-off TV roles, with the exception of 13 episodes of CSI. Following Modern Family Season 1's launch, he landed live-action gigs like an episode of American Horror Story in 2011 and The Loft in 2015, as well as voice roles in both Secret Life of Pets films, the Sofia the First animated series, and more.

Unsurprisingly considering this is Modern Family, Eric Stonestreet has been nominated for an Outstanding Supporting Actor Emmy three times, winning twice. In 2019, Stonestreet became a partial owner of the Kansas City Royals. He has expressed interest in working with Modern Family on-screen husband Jesse Tyler Ferguson again.

Sarah Hyland (Haley Dunphy)

The eldest of the Dunphy kids was played by 19-year-old Sarah Hyland when Modern Family Season 1 launched. Haley was never the smartest of the Dunphys, but she always meant well and went on to marry on-again/off-again boyfriend Dylan and give birth to twins. Now 29, Hyland has worked on a variety of projects during the 11 seasons of Modern Family while also struggling with health issues and public perception. She underwent two kidney transplants throughout the run of Modern Family.

Despite keeping busy with Modern Family, Sarah Hyland found time to star in projects like Vampire Academy and the Dirty Dancing remake. She appeared in the controversial latest season of Veronica Mars and also worked as a voice actress, with roles on The Lion Guard, Lego DC Comics Superheroes, and more. Hyland already lined up her next network TV role following Modern Family, which may mean that Haley-centric spinoff won't happen.

Ariel Winter (Alex Dunphy)

Only 11 when Modern Family Season 1 premiered, Ariel Winter has played Alex Dunphy, a.k.a. the brainy middle child of the Dunphy family. Although Alex has always been competitive, she loves her family and uses her brains to help them... and mess with them, but she has her their backs. Winter is now 22, and most of her jobs during Modern Family were voice roles, with Sofia the First as a highlight. More recently, she played a very non-Alex Dunphy character for Law & Order: SVU.

Ariel Winter's personal life involved a lot of ups and downs as she grew up during Modern Family, which she described as "difficult" and "awful." After being emancipated from her mother, Winter underwent breast reduction surgery. She went through further changes due to medications that resulted in weight loss, and she has made all kinds of headlines with her bold wardrobe choices.

Nolan Gould (Luke Dunphy)

Believe it or not, Nolan Gould is less than a year younger than on-screen sister Ariel Winter, despite the endearingly goofy Luke seeming so much younger than the much-brainier Alex. Only 11 when Modern Family's first episode aired on ABC, the 21-year-old Gould is a member of Mensa with an IQ of 150, according to Gould himself on The Ellen DeGeneres Show. At the age of 13, he tested out of high school.

Compared to his Modern Family costars, Nolan Gould didn't tackle too many projects during Modern Family, but he does have some notable projects to his name. On top of an appearance in 2011's Friends with Benefits, he went for horror with 2012's Ghoul, and starred in the 2019 drama Yes. Gould told PopCulture that he "took an interest" in Yes because it was so different from Modern Family, but he also told PopCulture in 2019 that he's "one hundred percent on board for a spinoff or a reboot or anything."

Rico Rodriguez (Manny Delgado)

At 11-years-old when Modern Family Season 1 premiered, Rico Rodriguez was pretty young to be playing Claire and Mitchell's step-sibling and the Dunphy kids' step-uncle, but Manny with his sensitivity, love of the arts, and surprisingly grown-up tendencies (played for laughs) always delivered. Now 21, Rodriguez got his big break with Modern Family and didn't branch out a whole lot during the run of the series. He did some voice work on TV projects like Mad and The Lion Guard, played himself in The Muppets in 2011, and landed some one-off TV roles including on R.L. Stine's The Haunting Hour and Austin & Ally.

Notably, Rico Rodriguez wrote a book back in 2012, called Reel Life Lessons... So Far. The book included his thoughts on growing up in the spotlight thanks to Modern Family's success, overcoming challenges, and starring on a show with Sofia Vergara playing his mom.

Few shows can hang on to so many members of the Season 1 cast, let alone the full cast of series regulars. See the Modern Family cast in their final episodes airing Wednesdays at 9 p.m. ET on ABC.
