As we wait to see if Season 2 of MobLand premieres on the 2026 TV schedule, big news came out that claimed Tom Hardy would not be returning if the show continues. It was rumored that the actor was not asked to return due to issues he had with a few people who worked on the series. However, this is not the first time he has had problems with colleagues on set, as he's had reported conflicts with other actors, like Charlize Theron, before.

What’s Allegedly Going On With Tom Hardy And MobLand

It was reported that Tom Hardy was not asked to return to MobLand due to on-set issues he had with 101 Studios, executive producer Jez Butterworth and others earlier in May by Variety. However, on May 28, the outlet reported that he “was not fired,” as one source alleged:

According to the newest report, the tension between Hardy and his co-workers is real. However, apparently, he was not officially fired, and they’re trying to work through creative differences.

Older reports claimed that Hardy was frequently late to set while they were working on Season 2. He also would allegedly give script notes and change the dialogue according to a Puck report (via Page Six). Variety also noted that the actor was frustrated because Butterworth would apparently deliver scripts late and was not present on set to deal with script changes.

Season 1 of MobLand premiered in 2025, and alongside Hardy, it stars Helen Mirren and Pierce Brosnan. It was a hit among those with a Paramount+ subscription and was renewed for a second season. Season 2 finished filming in March; however, it’s unclear when it will be released. What does seem to be confirmed is that even though the actor is still reportedly working on the show, there has been tension between him and other folks who work on the program.

Tom Hardy Has A History Of Not Getting Along With Co-Stars

Now, this situation with MobLand is not the first example of Hardy having issues with colleagues.

He and Charlize Theron infamously didn’t get along when they worked on one of the best action movies of all time, Mad Max: Fury Road. Crew members said Hardy was hard to work with on set, and it was claimed that Theron was not happy about his tardiness. Zoë Kravitz also said the conditions they were working in could have impacted this tension too, seeing as they were isolated and working long hours in the desert.

Meanwhile, In Patrick Stewart’s memoir, Make it So, via Page Six, he wrote that Hardy “wouldn’t engage with any of us on a social level” while they were filming Star Trek: Nemesis in 2002. However, Hardy said he was “terrified” while working on that movie because he thought he was “genuinely out of [his] depth.”

It was also reported that the Peaky Blinders actor and Shia LaBeouf got into a fight while filming Lawless in 2012. Director John Hillcoat said there was “definitely a fight between them” and they “had to both be restrained.” However, when LaBeouf appeared on Hot Ones, he called the rumors about him knocking his co-star out “bullshit,” while explaining that he and Hardy would “wrestle.”

While there, LaBeouf apparently dined at a bar and restaurant called The Groovy Goat while in the city of Foley. Apparently, the staff had a pleasant experience while serving LaBeouf, and manager Katie Walker couldn’t share enough kind thoughts to share about the actor. Walker spoke with AL.com and provided a summary of what happened with the star rolled up to the establishment for a meal:

LaBeouf was in the midst of a multi-day bar crawl amid Mardi Gras when he reportedly got into an altercation with a few other men in NOLA months ago. It was later reported that Labeouf initiated the fight by yelling homophobic comments at the other individuals involved in the fight. In addition to being arrested, the Padre Pio star was also taken to a hospital to be treated for injuries. Sometime later a third simple battery charge was leveled against LaBeouf, and a judge also stipulated that he pay a $100,000 bond.

The Tax Collector star apparently caused a stir while in Rome, though, after he was recorded screaming at a woman who was sitting near him outside a restaurant. According to TMZ, FKA Twigs is arguing that the Transformers star is attempting to silence her and get an "exorbitant" amoung of money from her, citing NDA restrictions detailed in the aforementioned settlement. She then goes on to claim that those NDA terms were unlawful in California under the Stand Together Against Non-Disclosure Act, which exists largely to challenge questionable requirement from such confidentiality agreements.

Here's a rough timeline of the alleged events that led to this latest court filing:

• FKA Twigs sued Shia Labeouf in December 2020, claiming physical abuse among other accusations.
• The case was finally settled out of court in July 2025, ahead of a scheduled September trial date, with an amicable joint statement shared at the time.
• FKA Twigs was interviewed by The Hollywood Reporter in October 2025, wherein she was asked about feeling a sense of safety with the lawsuit behind her, and she claimed "No, I wouldn't say I feel safe."
• In the new suit, FKA alleges that Labeouf filed a secret arbitration complaint against her in December 2025, claiming that statements she made in the October interview went against the terms of the NDA. He's supposedly seeking a lot of money for the would-be violation, but the singer claims that the terms in the agreement are not enforceable.

The Mother Mary co-star made a point of noting in the lawsuit that this new lawsuit was not being filed with a financial endgame in mind, and shared a different reasoning for it, saying:

A practitioner of the Catholic faith, LaBeouf, who’s currently out on bond, has been seeking permission to travel from Louisiana to Rome in order to witness his father’s baptism. LaBeouf initially made the request when he appeared in New Orleans Criminal District Court on February 26, and Judge Simone Levine denied the request for the trip, which was reportedly planned to happen between March 1st to the 8th. Per The Guardian, Levine struck down the appeal in great part due to the lack of a formal itinerary at the time.

However, Sarah Chervinsky – LaBeouf’s lawyer – reportedly made a separate request at the courthouse on March 4. Chervinsky spoke to magistrate Peter Hamilton about allowing her client to leave for a week in Italy, starting on the Wednesday of this week. Per sources, this particular request also included an itinerary. Ultimately, Hamilton opted to approve the trip, with that information being laid out in legal documents.

Per legal fillings, Chervinsky confirmed that she possessed the information regarding where the Pieces of a Woman actor would be staying while overseas and offered to submit it to the courts “upon request.” Specific details on LaBeouf’s trip are mostly unclear, though sources claim an itinerary was submitted with the request sent to Hamilton. Initially, as noted in the original filing, the excursion was said to be “for religious purposes, including his father’s baptism.”

While there were initially conflicting reports about the validity of the marriage, LaBeouf eventually clarified that they were legally wed. LaBeouf was subsequently charged with two counts of simple battery. Now, the Transformers alum is speaking in depth about the situation as a new warrant has been issued for his arrest.

Not long after he was taken into custody and hospitalized for injuries he sustained during the scuffle on February 17, LaBeouf provided a brief response, as he simply posted, “free me” on social media. LaBeouf had a lot more than that to say when he appeared as a guest on Channel 5 with Andrew Callaghan for an interview posted to YouTube this weekend. The Catholic actor admitted he’d been having the “time of [his] life” during his stint in NOLA. However, he also expressed remorse for the situation that led to him being booked:

When Callaghan asked the Padre Pio star if he took full responsibility for his actions, he said, “1,000 percent.” LaBeouf, after making note of the fact that he was “cameraed up,” asked if the interview could be semi-restarted, prompting him to then say he was feeling “blessed” after having come out to NOLA feeling “heartbroken.” While the actor didn’t go into specifics about what exactly caused those feelings, he later mentioned that he “failed his marriage,” presumably to long-time partner Mia Goth, who he shares a child with.

Shia LaBeouf also spoke about the people he got into a fight with. It’s been reported that the ex-Disney Channel star shouted homophobic slurs and then started hitting people. LaBeouf explained that the “anger” he felt at the time was something he hadn’t experienced in a while. Eventually, LaBeouf said, “when I’m like, standing by myself and three gay dudes are standing next to me, touching my leg, I get scared, I’m sorry. If that’s homophobic, then I’m that.” LaBeouf declined to dive further into specifics but did say this:

LaBeouf – who has sought in-patient treatment for alcohol addiction and more in the past – reasoned that he didn’t need to go to rehab. Although Shia LaBeouf doesn’t have anything lined up for the 2026 movies schedule, he’s still finding ways to attract attention, albeit in a significantly less flattering light. Last week, the Transformers star was arrested in New Orleans after getting into a fight during a solo, multi-day Mardi Gras Bar Crawl. Now LeBeouf has been tasked with paying a hefty bond bill as a result of his latest run-in with the law.

Earlier today, Shia LaBeouf appeared before New Orleans Criminal District Court Judge Simone Levine, as reported by NOLA. In addition to requiring the actor to enter rehab, Levine revoked LaBeouf being released from jail on his own recognizance and ordered him to pay a $100,000 bail. He paid the money immediately after the appearance, where he was standing next to his attorney Sarah Chervinsky.

That’s a sizable chunk of change, but these are serious circumstances. Shia LaBeouf’s been accused of starting a fight inside a bar located in New Orleans’ French Quarter in the early hours of Tuesday, February 17. Video footage showed him removing his shirt outside of the bar and getting into an altercation with at least three people. Police soon arrived, arrested LaBeouf and charged him with two counts of simple battery. An arrest report stated that he punched two men, which dislocated one of their noses, and shouted a homophobic slur during the conflict.

Before he was released from jail on that same Tuesday, Shia LaBeouf posted “Free me” on X. More videos subsequently made their way online not only of him earlier in the night as he was making his way around New Orleans, but also being held down while the police arrived and later talking with paramedics. In today’s court appearance, Judge Simone Levine said that she was concerned the danger that LaBeouf poses to not only to the victims, but to a “marginalized community” that has faced so much “terror” already, as NOLA put it.

This is far from the first time that Shia LaBeouf has gotten into legal trouble. In 2017, he was arrested at a hotel in Savannah, Georgia, and then in 2020, he was charged with petty theft and battery after getting into a physical confrontation with another man and stealing his hat. Also in 2020, LaBeouf was sued by his ex-girlfriend FKA Twigs for sexual battery, assault and infliction of emotional distress, as well as claimed he once bragged about killing stray dogs. The lawsuit was settled in July 2025, but the details about what that entailed remain a mystery.

Shia LaBeouf has been open before about his struggles with addiction, and shortly after FKA Twigs filed her lawsuit against him, it was reported he was looking for “long-term inpatient treatment.” In the aftermath of the New Orleans incident, Mel Gibson, who’s had his own share of controversies, allegedly wants to meet with LaBeouf to “shake some sense into him.” LeBeouf supposedly sees Gibson as the “father figure he never had,” which is why Gibson thinks he can get through to him. Gibson now reportedly wants to have a serious talk with LaBeouf, and the insider shared further claims about why the Australian actor believes he can get through to his younger peer:

As for what led to the arrest, it's reported that Shia LaBeouf was escorted out of a bar by its staff, after which a fight on the street occurred. There are videos of the actor being held down while police arrive, and standing around shirtless while talking to paramedics.

LaBeouf has openly talked about past struggles with addiction, and this isn't his first time making headlines for an arrest following an altercation. Beyond a viral arrest in 2017, he was also involved in a scuffle in 2020 and faced petty theft charges over taking a man's hat during a fight.

The Guardian reported he also faced a lawsuit from his former girlfriend, FKA Twigs, who filed against him alleging emotional distress, sexual battery, and assault. Shia LaBeouf denied the allegations, and the legal battle went on for quite some time. FKA Twigs requested the suit be dropped in July of 2025, and a settlement was reached out of court.

Prior to this, it's been a relatively quiet time for the actor, who CinemaBlend last reported was sharing his disgust for the movie Holes. Over the weekend and into Fat Monday, LaBeouf was reportedly spotted shirtless, bouncing between bars in the French Quarter during a solo Mardi Gras Bar Crawl and, amid that, the actor was arrested.

Reporting from The Hollywood Reporter paints a chaotic picture. The outlet cited multiple bar employees across the city claiming LaBeouf had been on what amounts to an extended bar crawl since Thursday. According to those accounts, the actor, who has previously spoken about his sobriety and struggles with alcoholism, has been making highly visible stops at Uptown staples including Ms. Mae’s, Dos Jefes, 45 Tchoup, and Brothers III Lounge.

It was ultimately reported early Tuesday that LaBeouf had been arrested by local authorities due to being involved in a scuffle that purportedly took place in New Orleans' French Quarter. Details on what led to that incident have yet to be released, though People notes that footage showed LaBeouf receiving medical attention afterwards. As a result of the fight, the actor is now facing two counts of simple battery.

Ahead of all this, a post shared to Shia LaBeouf’s personal X account (formerly Twitter) showed an image, embedded below, of the Even Stevens veteran star draped in thick layers of purple, green, and gold beads, wearing oversized black sunglasses and flashing a close-up selfie grin. Earlier reports from TMZ painted a fairly festive picture, with the actor dancing at R Bar in the French Quarter, posing for photos, laughing with patrons and helping organize a loose line so fans could snap pictures with him, noticeably, holding a beer.

The "festive" take on the situation is only one perspective. Reportedly, the staff of the 24/7 dive bar Ms. Mae’s described a more complicated scene. One doorman claimed LaBeouf appeared “inebriated” and “somewhat belligerent” when he arrived shirtless and without cash amid the Bacchus parade chaos. Witnesses allege he attempted a “Do you know who I am?” moment and later tried to jump behind the bar as a kind of impromptu celebrity bartender before being asked to leave.

Another bartender reportedly quipped, “Why don’t you go back and dig holes?” — a pointed reference to his 2003 breakout film Holes — after he repeatedly questioned the bar’s prominently displayed “Cash Only” policy. Whether intentional or not, the joke carries a bit of extra bite, given that LaBeouf previously described his experience filming Holes as far from pleasant.

Per another version of events shared by a co-owner of 45 Tchoup, the actor was “totally chill” during his visits, even if he occasionally forgot to sign his tab. Meanwhile, patrons at Dos Jefes described him as energetic and talkative, at one point reportedly offering unsolicited acting advice to someone at the bar.

This Mardi Gras bar crawl carries added weight. The former Transformers star has been open about his struggles with addiction and past abusive behavior, including serious allegations brought by ex-girlfriend FKA Twigs. In December 2020, Twigs (born Tahliah Barnett) filed a lawsuit accusing LaBeouf of sexual battery, assault and emotional distress stemming from their 2018–2019 relationship, which began after they met on the set of his semi-autobiographical flick Honey Boy.

In the filing, Twigs alleged a pattern of abusive conduct, including keeping a gun in their shared home, threatening to crash a car if she didn’t say she loved him, and claiming he killed stray dogs to prepare for a role.

LaBeouf said at the time that some of the allegations were untrue, but acknowledged his substance struggles and aggression, adding that he was “not in any position to tell anyone how my behavior made them feel.” The lawsuit intensified scrutiny around his conduct and remains part of the broader public conversation surrounding him.

In recent years, the embroiled Megalopolis star has spoken about pursuing sobriety and personal growth, which is why reports of a multi-day bar crawl have drawn attention, even though there has been no official confirmation of a relapse. Representatives for LaBeouf have not publicly commented on his arrest, as of this writing, and he's set to appear in court sometime Tuesday afternoon.

Shia LaBeouf first rose to fame starring in Disney’s Channel’s Even Stevens, but it was 2003’s Holes that got his film career going. LaBeouf starred as lead protagonist Stanley Yelnats in the cinematic adaptation of Louis Sachar’s same-named novel, and the movie was met with positive critical reception. More than two decades later, I know I’m not alone in considering it one of the more underrated House of Mouse offerings worth streaming with your Disney+ subscription, but LaBeouf has now gone into great detail about his “horrible” experience filming Holes.

The actor was asked if he liked working on Holes during a fan Q&A at Steel City Comic-Con. He didn’t mince words with his response, captured by @TreyEversman. LaBeouf first recalled how though he considered Holes his “first real job” following his TV work, it was jolting when Disney moved him over to the popular family movie because he’d built “a family, a tribe” with the cast and crew of Even Stevens, and now he was in this “new tribe.” He continued:

Jon Voight and Sigourney Weaver respectively starred in Holes as Mr. Sir and Warden Walker, respectively. The latter ran the juvenile detention camp where Stanley Yelnats was sent to, and the former assisted her in running the operation, from disciplining the inmates to shooting any yellow-spotted lizards that wandered on sight. It sounds like things got tense between Voight and Shia LaBeouf’s father because of Voight’s method acting choice, and clearly the hitting on Sigourney Weaver didn’t help.

But that was just the start of Shia LaBeouf’s troubles on Holes. Needless to say it was hot filming the movie out in the desert, but actually performing scenes inside of one of those holes was way worse. As LaBeouf explained:

That sounds brutal, and I do not envy those kids for having to act under such extreme heat, even if they were required to get out after five minutes no matter what. Shia LaBeouf then talked about the time he witnessed his costar Jake M. Smith, who played Squid, being literally blasted out of his trailer:

Shia LaBeouf capped off this portion of the panel by saying that Holes was a “pretty intense shoot,” and that he’s not sure if a company like Netflix could get away with that kind of stuff happening on a movie these days. It’s unfortunate LeBeouf and the other actors had to endure such conditions, although at least when it came to Jon Voight, that encounter between the elder actor and his father didn’t stop them from working together again. They later costarred in 2007’s Transformers and 2024’s Megalopolis, though the latter collaboration only happened when they made amends after getting into a heavy phone argument years earlier, as was revealed in the documentary Megadoc.

Although a Holes TV adaptation was announced around this time last year, word came in last month that Disney+ decided to not move forward with the series following the production of the pilot. So this movie will continue to be the only book-to-screen adaptation of this entry on Louis Sachar’s body of work. Meanwhile, as of August 2025, it’s unclear if Shia LaBeouf’s next movie, Angel of Death, will move forward due to creative clashes between the director and its coproducers, per World of Reel.

Shia LaBeouf has had a rollercoaster of a career, and he’s opening up about its highs and lows. Now as he promotes his new project on the 2025 movie schedule, Henry Johnson, he’s getting candid about some of the lower moments and how he’s risen above them. And while explaining all of this, he also talked about why Timothée Chalamet's viral speech about greatness spoke to him.

During a Q&A, LaBeouf was asked about dropping out of the play Orphans in 2013, which he was set to work on with Alec Baldwin. He explained that the rehearsal space was “contentious” because he wanted to be accepted by his colleague, and he was feeling “insecure.” Meanwhile, he said the 30 Rock actor reportedly got “competitive.” Their relationship turned sour.

Eventually, the Holes actor left the production, and he explained that he didn’t exit this turbulent part of his life until he found religion. While speaking with THR about all this, he said that becoming a Catholic has changed the way he works, which led to his comments about Chalamet and greatness. He explained:

For context, when Timothée Chalamet won his SAG Award for his performance in A Complete Unknown (which he also got a 2025 Oscar nomination for), he used his time to give a speech about wanting to be one of the greats. Dropping names like Viola Davis, Michael Jordan and more, he confidently said:

Overall, the Dune actor’s speech was well-received, and many respected his bold goals. LaBeouf also completely understood the speech and could relate to it. However, he said that that kind of mentality “wasn’t cute” in his own career.

Going back to this story about Orphans, the Transformers star explained that when Alec Baldwin came in, it was after Al Pacino had dropped out, and he was “heartbroken." He was also "living in the park” and “on steroids.”

He was sleeping in Central Park for most of the play's prep period while his co-star had just started teaching at NYU. Things got contentious, however, they’re all good now, as The Peanut Butter Falcon actor explained:

He went on to say that that fear made him “a piece of shit” and “not a nice guy.” However, finding religion helped him, and that brings us back around to how it helped him change the way he worked and his thoughts on Chalamet’s speech.

In the mid-to-late 1980s, Bruce Willis was best known for playing David Addison on Moonlighting, starring opposite Kim Basinger in Blind Date, and appearing in commercials for Seagram, which is why audiences initially laughed when they saw him as John McClane in the trailer for Die Hard. However, the 1988 action classic would immediately skyrocket the actor to stardom and turn him into a top Hollywood action star, later known for leading thrillers like The Fifth Element, Armageddon, and Sin City.

Jamie Foxx

Jamie Foxx's stand-up career led him to join the In Living Color cast and lead his own self-titled sitcom before his Oscar-winning performance in the 2004 music biopic, Ray, and Oscar-nominated performance in Collateral the same year opened wider doors for him. He went on to star in more thrillers like Jarhead, The Kingdom, Quentin Tarantino's Django Unchained, The Amazing Spider-Man 2 as Electro, and White House Down.

Alan Ritchson

One of Alan Ritchson's first major acting credits was playing doltish college football player Thad Castle on the uproarious sitcom Blue Mountain State before landing a small role in The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, doing performance capture for the 2014 and 2017 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movies, and playing Hank "Hawk" Hall on Titans. The 6'3" actor's defining, star-making turn came when he was cast in the title role of the hit Amazon Prime TV show, Reacher, leading to his casting in Guy Ritchie's The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare.

Lucy Liu

Lucy Liu landed her breakthrough role on the hit workplace dramedy Ally McBeal as Ling Woo. Soon after, she achieved cinematic stardom in 2000's Charlie's Angels, teamed up with Antonio Banderas in the 2002 spy thriller Ballistic: Ecks vs. Sever, and was cast as ruthless assassin O-Ren Ishii in Quentin Tarantino's Kill Bill.

Bob Odenkirk

Bob Odenkirk wrote for Saturday Night Live for years in the 1980s before co-leading his own acclaimed sketch comedy series with David Cross called Mr. Show, which was his main claim to fame for years. However, he stumbled onto a new career path when he joined the Breaking Bad cast as Saul Goodman, who earned his own prequel spin-off called Better Call Saul, before leading his own action flick called Nobody.

Martin Lawrence

Martin Lawrence led a successful stand-up career that turned into a successful TV career with his hit sitcom, Martin, in between starring in movies like Do the Right Thing and Boomerang. In 1995, he played Det. Marcus Burnett, for the first of multiple times in Bad Boys and even went on to play a cop in a few more overt comedies, namely Blue Streak and Big Momma's House.

Ryan Reynolds

For years, even after starring in more earnest thrillers like Smokin' Aces and Safe House, it seemed like Ryan Reynolds' defining performance would forever be the title role of National Lampoon's Van Wilder, which paved the way for him to star in more raunchy comedies like Waiting... or Just Friends. However, that would change in 2016 when he led Deadpool, which is still very much on the side of silly but is also as action-packed as any other comic book movie.

Sam Richardson

Sam Richardson quickly became a favorite in the comedy landscape for his hilarious performances in shows like I Think You Should Leave, Veep, and Ted Lasso. He would later go on to impress audiences in Amazon Prime's action-packed time travel movie The Tomorrow War opposite Chris Pratt, as the lead of the 2021 horror-comedy movie Werewolves Within, and in Paramount+'s Star Trek: Section 31.

Keanu Reeves

As the star of franchises like the John Wick movies and the Matrix films, in addition to favorites like Speed and Point Break, Keanu Reeves is one of the most prolific action stars in cinema history. Thus, it is sometimes hard to believe that he is the same actor who, excellently, played one-half of the titular duo from the Bill & Ted movies.

John Goodman

John Goodman began rising to prominence on the groundbreaking sitcom Roseanne as Dan Conner (whom he would reprise in the revival series The Conners). However, he has managed to cover just about every genre you can think of throughout his career, including action films like Kong: Skull Island and Atomic Blonde.

Emily Blunt

It might seem like a stretch to call Emily Blunt a comedy star, but she did find her breakthrough film role with a hilarious scene-stealing performance in 2006's The Devil Wears Prada. She would later prove she could play someone with a rougher exterior when she starred opposite Tom Cruise in the thrilling time loop movie, Edge of Tomorrow, and in Denis Villeneuve's stunning Sicario.

Rick Moranis

Rick Moranis is one of the most treasured comedic actors of his time, from his days at SCTV starring alongside Dave Thomas as the McKenzie Brothers (who led their own 1983 movie, Strange Brew), to appearing in films like Ghostbusters, Little Shop of Horrors, and Honey, I Shrunk the Kids. In the middle of those comedy classics was a role in Walter Hill's dystopian "Rock 'n Roll fable," Streets of Fire.

Bill Burr

Bill Burr used to mock the Star Wars movies in some of his stand-up bits, which gave The Mandalorian creator Jon Favreau a funny idea to bring him into the galaxy far, far away. He cast the Massachusetts-born comedian on the series as a mercenary named Migs Mayfield, which Burr has since recognized as one of the highlights of his career.

John Leguizamo

Despite getting his start as a stand-up comedian, many of John Leguizamo's earliest acting roles have actually been in action movies, including Die Hard 2 and Executive Decision. In addition to more humorous credits, like To Wong Foo, Thanks For Everything, Julie Newmar and the Ice Age movies, more thrillers would come his way, such as the John Wick movies and Violent Night.

Owen Wilson

Owen Wilson may be closely associated with comedies like Bottle Rocket, Meet the Parents, and Zoolander, but the actor has diversified his talents over various styles. He has even tried his hand at the action genre a few times, most notably in Behind Enemy Lines, No Escape, and Disney+'s MCU-canon series, Loki

Tom Hanks

Tom Hanks' first major show business breakthrough was a sitcom called Bosom Buddies, which led to roles in comedy films like Bachelor Party and Turner & Hooch. It was his Oscar-winning roles in Philadelphia and Forrest Gump that opened the door for him to star in intense dramas like the acclaimed war movie Saving Private Ryan and the sci-fi epic Cloud Atlas.

Val Kilmer

Some of Val Kilmer's most iconic roles include Iceman in Top Gun, Doc Holliday in the Western movie classic Tombstone, and the title role of Batman Forever. However, his breakthrough films were the ridiculous spy parody, Top Secret!, and the college comedy, Real Genius, in the early-to-mid 1980s.

Mila Kunis

Mila Kunis rose to fame as Jackie Burkhart in the That '70s Show cast and as the voice of Meg on Family Guy before acquiring A-list fame. Her action movie credits, namely the video game movie adaptation Max Payne and the Wachowski's ambitious sci-fi adventure, Jupiter Ascending, have not been her most esteemed efforts, but we will still count them.

Randall Park

Randall Park is best known for leading the sitcom Fresh off the Boat, his hilarious cameo on The Office as "Asian Jim Halpert," and for hit comedy movies like The Interview and Neighbors. He has also become a staple of the comic book movie genre with his role in the MCU as Agent Jimmy Woo and as Dr. Shin in the Aquaman movies.

Shia LaBeouf

Shia LaBeouf started making a name for himself when he was a teen as Louis on the Disney Channel original comedy series, Even Stevens. He went on to make a Hollywood breakthrough in the Transformers movies, which led to his roles in Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull and, eventually, David Ayer's 2014 war drama, Fury.

Malin Akerman

Before she became the first actor to play Silk Spectre II in live-action in 2009's Watchmen, Malin Akerman rose to fame in comedy movies like 2007's The Heartbreak Kid and shows like Children's Hospital.

Jim Belushi

Just like his late older brother, John, Jim Belushi broke out on Saturday Night Live. Unlike John, Jim achieved a brief career in action movies, such as Red Heat with Arnold Schwarzenegger, The Principal, and Oliver Stone's Salvador.

Ernest Borgnine

Ernest Borgnine was already an Oscar-winning movie star when he was cast as the lead of the hit sitcom, McHale's Navy. Eventually, he would appear in more earnest action-oriented titles, such as a made-for-TV adaptation of All Quiet on the Western Front, John Carpenter's Escape from New York, and 2010's RED.

The X-Files is an iconic show to come out of the early '90s, and the combination of mythology stories and Monster of the Week episodes created enough of a hit to last nine original seasons, two revival seasons, and two feature films. David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson aren't the only big names to come out of the show, however, as a number of the guest stars went on to become stars of their own shows. Read on for the standouts!

Ryan Reynolds

Ryan Reynolds is known for big screen ventures like the Deadpool films nowadays, but The X-Files fans saw a very young version of the actor in the Season 3 episode “Syzygy” in 1996… briefly, anyway! His character was killed off before the end of the cold open, but Reynolds would go on to star in ABC’s hit Two Guys, a Girl and a Pizza Place sitcom from 1998-2001.

Bryan Cranston

Bryan Cranston proved a master of comedy with Malcolm in the Middle and of drama with Breaking Bad, but he flexed his acting muscles on The X-Files earlier on. While playing the ill-fated Patrick Crump in the Season 6 episode “Drive” wasn’t his first TV credit, the 1998 gig introduced him to executive producer Vince Gilligan, who would go on to cast Cranston as Walter White.

Jack Black

Long before School of Rock and The Super Mario Bros. Movie, Jack Black played Bart “Zero” Liquori in Episode 3 of The X-Files’ third season in 1995. He would later star in TV projects like Tenacious D between 1997-2000, The Brink in 2015, and the Kung Fu Panda: The Dragon Knight animated series from 2022-2023.

Terry O'Quinn

Terry O’Quinn portrayed three different franchise characters. He played Lt. Brian Tillman in the “Aubrey” episode of Season 2 in 1995, SAC Michaud in The X-Files: Fight the Future feature film, and Shadow Man in the “Trust No 1” episode of Season 9 in 2002. Best known now as John Locke on Lost from 2004-2010, he also recurred on shows including Hawaii Five-0, FBI: Most Wanted, and Resident Alien.

Luke Wilson

Luke Wilson holds a special place in the hearts of many X-Files fans for starring as the vampire sheriff Lucius Hartwell in arguably the show’s best episode: “Bad Blood” in 1998. Following that Season 5 episode, he landed multi-episode gigs on shows including That ‘70s Show and Roadies before starring in the DC Comics-based series Stargirl from 2020-2022.

Lucy Liu

Future Kill Bill actress Lucy Liu played Kim Hsin in The X-Files’ third season episode called “Hell Money” back in 1996. She debuted in her first series regular role on the sitcom Pearl later that year, but her big TV break would be Ling Woo on Ally McBeal before playing Dr. Joan Watson in CBS’ Elementary from 2012-2019.

Tony Shalhoub

Before he was an Emmy- and Tony Award-winner, Tony Shalhoub appeared in the Season 2 episode of The X-Files called “Soft Light” as the very stressed Dr. Chester Ray Banton. While he was already starring on NBC’s sitcom Wings at the time, his most acclaimed (and award-winning) work came later with Monk starting in 2002 and The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel starting in 2017.

Jane Lynch

The ninth season of The X-Files wasn't the most popular, but the “Lord of the Flies” episode in 2001 featured Jane Lynch as Mrs. Anne T. Lokensgard years before she introduced the world to Sue Sylvester on Fox’s Glee. For that role, she'd be nominated for three Emmys and win one over the course of six seasons from 2009-2015.

Felicity Huffman

Considering Felicity Huffman's later fame for Sports Night, American Crime, and Desperate Housewives, it can be easy to overlook her very early episode of The X-Files as Dr. Nancy Da Silva in 1993. The Season 1 episode was an homage to the iconic horror film The Thing and remains one of the show’s best more than thirty years later.

Shia LaBeouf

When one thinks of Shia LaBeouf as a child star, his lead role as Louis Stevens in Disney Channel’s Even Stevens from 2000-2003 probably comes to mind first. One year earlier, however, the future household name played a sick youngster by the name of Richie in a Season 7 episode of The X-Files called “The Goldberg Variation.”

CCH Pounder

While CCH Pounder only appeared as Agent Lucy Kazdin in one episode of The X-Files, Season 2's “Duane Barry” was pivotal. Starting later in 1994, Pounder appeared in the first four seasons of ER before arriving on The Shield in 2002. Her longest-running role has been playing NCIS: New Orleans' Dr. Loretta Wade for all seven seasons from 2014-2021.

BD Wong

While BD Wong appeared in Jurassic Park in the early ‘90s, small-screen stardom would take longer. He played Detective Glen Chao in The X-Files’ “Hell Money” episode of Season 3 in 1996, before he’d go on to a role in Oz from 1997-2003 and Law & Order: SVU starting in 2001. He’d eventually become one of the Law & Order stars to appear in most episodes.

Donal Logue

Donal Logue guest-starred in The X-Files' very first Monster of the Week episode, called “Squeeze,” in 1993. He went on to recur in later seasons of ER before starring in all five seasons of Grounded for Life and all five seasons of Gotham, which wrapped after 100 episodes in 2019.

Peter Boyle

Peter Boyle’s career goes back to the 1960s, but X-Files Season 3 fans will remember him for playing the title character in “Clyde Bruckman’s Final Repose” in 1995, for which he won an Emmy. He would then score another seven Emmy nominations for playing Frank Barone across nine seasons of Everybody Loves Raymond from 1996-2005.

Laurie Holden

Laurie Holden wasn’t a one-off guest star on The X-Files but would appear in ten episodes as Marita Covarrubias between 1996-2002. She’d become more of a household name as part of the original cast of The Walking Dead regulars, and she ranks among the Walking Dead cast members to appear in most episodes.

Aaron Paul

The future Breaking Bad star can be found in a Season 9 episode of The X-Files, called “Lord of the Flies” in 2001, where he played a character with the distinguished name of “Sky Commander Winky.” He would go on to recur on Big Love before landing his career-making role as Jesse Pinkman opposite Bryan Cranston. Post-Breaking Bad credits include The Path, BoJack Horseman, and Westworld.

Michael Emerson

Years before his Emmy-winning portrayal of Ben on Lost, Michael Emerson guest-starred in the final Monster of the Week episode of The X-Files’ original run. Called “Sunshine Days,” the Season 9 episode in 2002 preceded his guest stint on Without a Trace, his role in Saw, and of course five seasons of Lost. Other long-running roles since The X-Files include Person of Interest and Evil.

Jesse L. Martin

Jesse L. Martin arrived on The X-Files to play baseball-loving alien Josh Exley in “The Unnatural,” the Season 6 episode written and directed by David Duchovny in 1999. Later that year, Martin joined the cast of Law & Order, where he remained for nine seasons and nearly 200 episodes. The Flash was his next series regular gig until 2023, followed by The Irrational early in the 2024 TV lineup.

Bradley Whitford

While Bradley Whitford is likely best remembered for his work as Josh Lyman in The West Wing starting in 1999, he had a very different part to play in The X-Files’ second season in 1994. He portrayed the unfortunate Daniel Trepkos in “Firewalker.” Whitford has three Emmy wins to his name since the early ‘90s thanks to his work on The West Wing, Transparent, and The Handmaid’s Tale.

Paul McCrane

Paul McCrane played the titular character in the Season 4 episode called “Leonard Betts” in 1997. He’s also responsible for one of the most iconic lines in The X-Files history: “I’m sorry, but you’ve got something I need.” McCrane joined the cast of ER later that year to play Dr. Robert Romano across seven seasons, ending his time in one of the medical drama’s most memorable deaths.

Kurtwood Smith

Although he would later be quite well known for a different Fox series, Kurtwood Smith portrayed Agent Bill Patterson in the Season 3 episode called “Grotesque,” which aired on the network in 1996. Two years later, he was back on Fox for That ‘70s Show to play Red Forman for eight seasons and 200 episodes. Smith more recently reprised the role for Netflix’s That ‘90s Show.

Octavia Spencer

Octavia Spencer’s episode of The X-Files in 1999 may be better remembered as the one that delivered the first actual kiss between Mulder and Scully, but you can find the actress in the Season 7 episode titled “Millennium.” In addition to winning her Academy Award for The Help, Spencer landed many guest and recurring TV gigs before her lead role in Apple TV+’s Truth Be Told from 2019-2023.

Seth Green

Seth Green was a guest in the very first episode of The X-Files following the pilot, as Emil in “Deep Throat” in 1993. While it wasn’t his first TV role, it preceded his work as Oz on Buffy the Vampire Slayer from 1997-2000. He really hit his stride as a voice actor with Robot Chicken and Family Guy in particular, with hundreds of episodes of each show to his name.

Garrett Dillahunt

The X-Files is one of Garret Dillahunt’s earliest credits, as he played Edward Skur in the flashback-heavy Season 5 episode “Travelers” in 1998. He may be better remembered for his work in Deadwood which started several years later in 2004, followed by TV projects including all four seasons of Raising Hope, three seasons of The Mindy Project, and three seasons of Fear the Walking Dead.

Dean Norris

Dean Norris is a master of playing characters in law enforcement, including Marshal Tapia in The X-Files’ Season 2 episode “F. Emasculata” in 1995. His biggest TV break would come years later as Hank Schrader in Breaking Bad, and he appeared in all three seasons of CBS’ Under the Dome and all four seasons of TNT’s Claws before recurring in Law & Order: Organized Crime’s fourth season as well.

Lucy Lawless

Lucy Lawless’ most iconic work to date was likely as Xena in Xena: Warrior Princess for syndication from 1995-2001, but she came to network TV primetime in 2001 for two episodes of The X-Files Season 9 as alien super-soldier Shannon McMahon. She’d go on to recur across the last three seasons of Battlestar Galactica and become one of the faces of Starz’s Spartacus franchise of shows starting in 2010.

Brad Dourif

Brad Dourif is one of The X-Files’ most memorable early guest stars as serial killer Luther Lee Boggs in Season’s “Beyond the Sea” in 1991, but he really made a mark on TV starting in 2004 with playing Doc Cochran in Deadwood. More recently, he has been voicing the demonic doll himself in the Chucky series that premiered in 2021.

Bruce Campbell

After the Evil Dead films, Bruce Campbell was a perfect casting for a show like The X-Files in its sixth season. He played Wayne Weinsider in the twisted “Terms of Endearment” episode of 1999. Campbell would later spend seven seasons on USA as part of the Burn Notice cast, and – of course – reprise his role as Ash for all three seasons of the Ash vs Evil Dead TV show.

Willie Garson

The late Willie Garson played two different characters on The X-Files: Quinton “Roach” Freely in Season 3’s “The Walk” in 1995 and Henry Weems in Season 7’s “The Goldberg Variation” in 1999. His most well-known work is likely playing Stanford Blatch on Sex and the City across all six seasons starting in 1998. He would also star in all six seasons of USA’s White Collar following its 2009 premiere.

Giovanni Ribisi

Giovanni Ribisi certainly wasn’t unknown in television when he guest-starred as Darin Peter Oswald in Season 3 of The X-Files in 1995, but it was before he made his Friends debut as Frank Buffay Jr. More significantly, he starred in Fox’s Dads opposite Seth Green from 2013-2014 and then all three seasons of Prime Video’s Sneaky Pete from 2015-2019.

Mark Sheppard

Mark Sheppard only had a couple of credits in the entertainment industry to his name when he appeared as Cecil L’Ively in the Season 1 episode “Fire” in 1993. He then landed ongoing roles in shows like Soldier of Fortune, Inc., 24, and Battlestar Galactica, but he’s best known for portraying the fan-favorite demon Crowley on Supernatural for eight of the show’s fifteen seasons.

Danny Trejo

Danny Trejo came to The X-Files in Season 8 to play Cesar Ocampo in “Redrum” in the show’s early post-Mulder era. In addition to some film credits following TXF, he arrived on The Young and the Restless in 2008 and – most notably – Sons of Anarchy to play Romeo Parada starting in 2011. He’s also a prolific voice actor for shows including King of the Hill, The Adventures of Puss in Boots, and Big City Greens.

You know a movie is doing something right when it elicits a truly emotional reaction from you. Often that might be tears welling in your eyes. Sometimes it’s a feeling of elation when a hero succeeds. And sometimes it’s the desire to punch somebody right in the face. You’re supposed to hate the bad guys and want them to get defeated, but sometimes the person who needs a smack is the hero.

A thread on Reddit recently asked fans what protagonist they would most like to punch in the face, either because they were whiney, generally annoying, or just an actual terrible person. And there are some choice answers here. It turns out that a fair number of heroes need a decent smack.

There are plenty of characters in the Harry Potter cast worthy of a smack, but one is one of the main three heroes. Harry's buddy Ron Weasley is a popular choice for a human punching bag that people who want to just beat the hell out of. A lot of people think that, especially in the later films, he ends up perpetually stupid and jealous and he just needs to get over himself. It doesn’t make him a good friend to the people he’s supposed to be friends with.

Shia LaBeouf’s Sam Witwicky in the Transformers movies is another popular choice. Maybe it was the fact that the movies focused so much on his character, while most people watching the movies just wanted to see the giant robots, that made him so completely annoying. Maybe that's why the Transformers franchise seemingly killed him off. It's certainly true that the best Transformers movies are generally the ones he's not in.

One choice that is perhaps controversial is Ferris Bueller. While Ferris Bueller’s Day Off is an incredibly popular comedy, there is a contingent of people who see Ferris as a spoiled, entitled ass, and think that maybe what Ferris needs is a good ass-kicking. While I don’t necessarily agree, I can see why some people feel that way. 

There are some cases where even though a movie character is ostensibly the protagonist of a film, you’re not necessarily supposed to like them. Adam Sandler’s character in Uncut Gems comes up in the discussion. He certainly has a pretty bad life for the duration of the film. Of course, that’s all because of the choices that he makes, which makes you want to wring his neck. This is by design, but that doesn’t make it any less true. 

If a movie makes you want to punch the hero in the face, there’s an argument that the movie still works, that you’re invested enough in the story for the character’s actions to make you want to smack them. In many cases, this does mean that a character you were supposed to like is one you don’t, but as long as you weren’t bored, I guess that’s something. 

Shia LaBeouf’s life and career had taken a dark turn before 2022's Padre Pio got him out of acting exile, as he faced sexual battery accusations from ex-girlfriend FKA Twigs and was fired from Don’t Worry Darling. However, the actor was inspired to forge a new path after portraying the real-life friar-turned-saint, converting to Catholicism. Now LaBeouf may be making his most unexpected move yet, as he reportedly wants to further his involvement with the Catholic Church by becoming a deacon.

After playing St. Pio of Pietrelcina in Padre Pio, Shia LaBeouf announced that he had joined the Catholic faith, and according to Capuchin friar Brother Alexander Rodriguez, becoming a deacon “sometime in the future” is something that the actor has been talking about for a couple of years. Rodriguez told Catholic News Agency:  

Brother Alexander Rodriguez, who reportedly played the role of a friar in Padre Pio, served as Shia LaBeouf’s sponsor as The Peanut Butter Falcon actor was officially received into the Catholic Church on December 31 when he participated in the sacrament of confirmation.

This ceremony and news that Shia LaBeouf wants to join the diaconate is the latest step in his journey to become Catholic, which began when he chose to live in a monastery in order to feel closer to the saint he was portraying in the movie. As a method actor, LaBeouf lived amongst the priests and learned how some of them had overcome their own sins to find salvation. This provided hope for the former Disney Channel star, whose troubled past has made headlines for incidents both on and off the set of his movies.

Shia LaBeouf opened up in 2018 about his arrests and the PTSD he suffered after witnessing the sexual assault of his mother when he was only 9 years old. That year — 1996 — also marked the first time he was arrested, per the L.A. Times. In regards to his career, LaBeouf reportedly went to some dangerous lengths to prepare for his 2014 movie Fury, and was involved in a “volatile” moment with co-star Scott Eastwood that apparently required Brad Pitt to intervene.

After the abuse allegations by FKA Twigs, Shia LaBeouf stepped away from acting and entered an inpatient rehab facility in early 2021. But his troubles didn’t end there, as he was charged with petty theft and battery after an altercation that May. LaBeouf’s research for Padre Pio at the monastery began just a couple of months later in July 2021, starting the actor on a new trajectory. 

In addition to possibly becoming a deacon in the Catholic Church, Shia LaBeouf has a few other projects in the works, including Francis Ford Coppola’s long-awaited passion project Megalopolis. Whether you love or hate the character, the introduction of Shia LaBeouf’s Mutt Williams set a bit of a challenge for any sequels set after 2007’s Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. As promised by producer Frank Marshall’s remarks that the absence of Mutt would be addressed in Indiana Jones 5, co-writer/director James Mangold’s latest entry in the series did just that; and in a way that probably shocked some audience members.

Consider this your last chance to avoid spoilers, as I’m about to talk about why Mutt Williams, or Henry Jones III if you want to be technical, isn’t in Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny. In addition, there’s some talk about why this affects the ending of the picture, so if you want to keep the secrets, do what Indy did in Raiders of the Lost Ark and avert your eyes from what’s about to be revealed.

The Fate Of Mutt Williams, According To Indiana Jones And The Dial Of Destiny

As far as real life is concerned, we’d known since 2017 that Shia LaBeouf was out of Indiana Jones 5. Credited writer David Koepp revealed as much when he was still working on the project, before the project changed hands to the director of Ford v. Ferrari. Much like its predecessor, it looks like Dial of Destiny upheld this decision; however we don’t know if the method we’re about to reveal was always the twist. 

If you’re still with us, brace yourselves, folks. In an emotional monologue that sees Indiana Jones (Harrison Ford) pouring his heart out, we learn that Mutt died in the Vietnam war. 

Enlisting to rebel against his father, he was presumably killed in action. This heartbreak resulted in some deeper consequences that were baked right into the story from Act I, only to fully blossom in the “momentous ending” to the Indiana Jones story.

How Mutt’s Death Affects The Finale Of Indiana Jones’ Latest Adventure

Another shock that’s delivered to fans of this famed archaeologist’s usually carefree adventures is the fact that at the beginning of Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny, Dr. Jones has been served divorce papers. That fairy tale ending in Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, which saw Indy and Marion’s relationship timeline finally leading to marriage, looks to be undone by the loss of their child; according to that same scene referenced above.

But in Indiana Jones 5’s ending, the healing looks like it’s about to begin. Thanks to Helena Shaw (Phoebe Waller-Bridge) knowing about Indy’s pain, and his lack of reaching out to Marion, she brings him back to 1969 and sets up a meeting. With a tear-jerking callback to one of the most romantic scenes from Raiders of the Lost Ark, the couple begins to reconcile as only they know how.

While Helena undoubtedly wanted to preserve the time continuum, thus contributing to how Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny’s time travel works, she also knew he had unfinished business at home. By opening up and sharing that trauma with his goddaughter, Indiana almost ensures his ticket home, as Helena sees that there's some work that needs to be done in the Jones household.

We can debate whether killing Shia LaBeouf’s Mutt Williams was a good idea or not for an indefinite period of time. But what can’t be debated is the sweetness of that final moment, which only happens because of the decision made by the team in charge of Indiana Jones 5. 

Admittedly, Shia LaBeouf’s noteworthy diss of Kingdom of the Crystal Skull probably meant he was never going to come back, no matter what. With only so many options on how to handle this character, a choice was made, and part of the story you see before you is a result. 

Of course, if you’ve read this rundown without actually seeing Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny, don’t fret. There are still plenty of twists, turns, and Nazi punches waiting at a theate near you. Though if you want to metaphorically pour one out for Mutt, Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull is currently streaming through a Disney+ subscription, along with the rest of the franchise.

Devon resident Taylor Ryan kept getting told she looked like Megan Fox. Her character, Mikaela, tells LaBeouf’s Sam guys don’t like it when she knows a lot about cars, to which he responds, ‘I’m cool with females working on my engine. I prefer it.” 

Apparently, this scene has revved the engines of customers on OnlyFans, to the point where Ryan, 25, told The Daily Mail she charges $300 bucks for a glimpse of her in the scene. Overall, the OF star says she’s pulling in over $30K a month – with most of that money coming thanks to “one time requests” like the Megan Fox car scene.

Fox isn’t the only cosplay Taylor Ryan does, as the content creator has also dressed as Velma from Scooby Doo and as Wonder Woman for Halloween last year. 

But Fox is where her bread and butter is, although if you were to ask Ryan, she’s flattered but maybe a little surprised people would think they look super alike. 

She also picked up on wearing leather, a fashion look the Transformers and Good Mourning actress has also favored over the years: leather. (In fact, she was wearing leather on an early date with MGK before the drama surrounding Fox and Kelly's relationship started and her deletion of her social media posts.) 

A lot of content creators and even reality TV personalities have figured out how to make a living on OnlyFans, and some of the more famous names have said they prefer the platform. It gives them control over their careers, their time and their money. For example, Baywatch star Carmen Electra has mentioned she likes OF because she can be her “own boss” and have her own “creative vision.” 

Taylor Ryan is a little more candid about the downsides, noting, “The late nights, they suck.” She’s often up until the early hours of the morning working and she feels she does “have to be on it” when it comes to her page. Ultimately, however, she went from barista to making six figures a year, and she has Megan Fox to thank. 

These last several years have truly marked the rise of FKA Twigs, the British singer and dancer who’s earned a plethora of prestigious award wins and nominations. But in addition to her music artistry, her love life has also been a major topic of conversation. The songstress has been linked to a couple of major names, specifically Robert Pattinson and Shia LaBeouf. Since her breakup with the latter, the public has remained fascinated with who she’s dating and, now, Twigs has revealed how she’s “taking control” of the narrative when it comes to her latest romance. 

The entertainer – whose real name is Tahliah Barnett – took to social media to address an article speculating about her new beau. In an Instagram post, she shared a screenshot from the piece, with the image zeroing in on the trade’s inquiry for info on her boyfriend. In her caption, FKA Twigs got candid about how she’s been consistently hounded when it comes to her dating life. With that, she revealed the name of her suitor and even tagged him in the post:

That’s certainly one way to step up and clap back at the wave of attention surrounding your personal life. It seems clear that the 35-year-old Grammy nominee is tired of the noise and wants to stomp out further speculation. Though one could argue that she is a public figure and that this news coverage comes with fame, it’s easy to understand that it can all become tiring to deal with. And it goes without saying that she’s had to deal with it quite frequently.

FKA Twigs began dating Robert Pattinson back in 2014, and the pair were covered quite frequently by the press. She and Pattinson eventually got engaged, but by October 2017, they’d broken up, with sources saying at the time that things hadn’t gotten “tough” for the pair. A few years ago, Twigs has been candid about dealing with backlash from Pattinson’s fanbase. A the time, she stated that his admirers “considered that he should definitely be with someone white and blonde.” 

The singer would later meet Shia LaBeouf on the set of 2019’s Honey Boy and, from there, they would strike up a relationship. They reportedly began dating in mid-2018 and would part ways in mid-2019. In December 2020, FKA Twigs sued LaBeouf, accusing him of subjecting her to sexual assault, battery and emotional distress while they were together. She even claimed that he shot at stray dogs at some point in order to prepare for a role. The Transformers alum subsequently denied the allegations and entered rehab though, in a 2022 interview, LaBeouf acknowledged that he “hurt” the singer. As of right now, Twigs is still proceeding with legal action against LaBeouf.

The “Cellophane” performer seems more than happy with her latest relationship, citing that Jordan Hemingway has reignited her “faith in love.” This recent social media post indicates that he’s learned more than a few things from her time in the spotlight. Also, going forward, one would imagine that she’ll seek to take control of any of the narratives about her life that are making the rounds.

Controversial actor Shia LaBeouf has landed his next project following his alleged dismissal from Olivia Wilde’s Don’t Worry Darling. The 36-year-old Honey Boy actor was spotted completely unrecognizable in Greek goddess drag on the set of Francis Ford Coppola’s longtime passion project Megalopolis. While the actor seems to be enjoying himself strutting on set, if rumors are to believe, there may already be trouble in paradise for the production. But what would a Coppola production be without its share of behind-the-scenes drama and controversy?

The New York Post published images of LaBeouf on the set of Coppola’s decade-spanning epic science fiction drama, donning a white, flowing gown, as well as wearing large gold jewelry and a matching headpiece. The actor can also be seen completing the look with black acrylic nails and pencil-thin eyebrows. 

Megalopolis had a star-studded A-list cast attached to it. Adam Driver, Jason Schwartzman, Nathalie Emmanuel, Aubrey Plaza, Dustin Hoffman, Laurence Fishburne, and Kaleidoscope and Mandalorian star Giancarlo Esposito were all set to join LaBeouf on the production. However, insiders close to the project have told The Hollywood Reporter that the $120 million picture (which Coppola self-financed) is in peril following a ballooning budget and an exodus of several key cast and crew.

Several insiders have alleged the set is complete madness and is supposedly tearing apart at the seams. The movie (filming in Atlanta) is halfway through its planned 80-90 day production but has reportedly lost its production designer, supervising art director, and entire visual effects team. Some close to the project have even gone as far as saying the project is giving major “Apocalypse Now vibes”--another Coppola film that had a disastrous production, famously documented in the award-winning documentary Hearts of Darkness: A Filmmaker’s Apocalypse. However, the movie maker was still able to shape that movie into one of the greatest war films ever made.

Francis Ford Coppola denies any onset turmoil, even going as far as to claim he’s still very much on budget. The director said:

Those close to the project say Megalopolis began its production utilizing the same LED screen technology (known as the volume) pioneered on the set of Disney’s The Mandalorian and which Warner Bros took a cue from for The Batman. As production costs continued to skyrocket on Megalopolis, The God Father director is allegedly pivoting to a more cost-effective traditional green screen technique for the remainder of the shoot.

Only time will tell if Coppola's alleged cost-cutting will save production. Will Megalopolis be a total disaster or another all-time great film from the legendary Hollywood director? Regardless of how the movie turns out, it’s hard to deny Shia LaBeouf looks fabulous in his goddess look. And, I suppose, we will always have that, at least.

Harrison Ford is embarking on one last ride as Indiana Jones next year thanks to Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny, one of the more highly-anticipated 2023 movie releases. However, when the archaeologist returns, he won’t be accompanied by his son, Mutt Williams, who was introduced in Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. However, it turns out The Dial of Destiny will address Shia LaBeouf’s character, and we’ve also learned more details about a different member of Indy’s family: his goddaughter Helena, played by Phoebe Waller-Bridge.

It’s no secret that Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull isn’t one of the more beloved entries in the Indiana Jones film series, and Shia LaBeouf’s Mutt Williams was one of the more critiqued aspects of the movie. LaBeouf even shared his dissatisfaction with Kingdom of the Crystal Skull a few years after it came out. Well, back in 2017, it was revealed that Mutt would not appear in Indiana Jones 5, but for those who are curious about the character, director James Mangold informed EW that people seeing The Dial of Destiny will "find out what happened" to him, but the filmmaker wouldn’t divulge any specific information.

This is a broad spectrum to work with concerning Mutt. On the one hand, he was 19 years old in Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, which took place in 1957, so he’d be 31 in The Dial of Destiny since it takes place in 1969. So it’s possible Mutt’s simply off living his own life elsewhere, forgoing the opportunity to travel with his dad to find treasures and ancient artifacts. On the other hand, perhaps a horrible fate befell Mutt (like dying in the Vietnam War) in between Kingdom of the Crystal Skull and The Dial of Destiny, which in turn affected Indy’s marriage to Karen Allen’s Marion Ravenwood, who may or may not be present in this next movie. One way or another, we’ll learn about Mutt, but whether you like the answer is a different matter.

Turning our attention to Phoebe Waller-Bridge’s Helena, who will not be taking over the franchise from Harrison Ford’s character, James Mangold described her as being a “catalyst” for Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny, adding:

While watching the Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny trailer, it’s clear that Helena will be Indy’s main companion throughout the story, with their adventure together involving car chases, exploring trap-filled caves and a lot of bullets. Per James Mangold’s comment though, it’s an event in Helena’s life that thrusts Indy back into action, as opposed to him looping her in on a journey. Furthermore, evidently Helena’s mother/father (maybe both?) is someone new we’ll be meeting in The Dial of Destiny rather than an established character we’ve seen before.

Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny arrives in theaters on June 30, 2023. While we wait for more details about what to expect from it, stream the previous movies with a Paramount+ subscription.

Don’t Worry Darling, the latest film from actor/director Olivia Wilde has been receiving a lot of attention as of late but mostly due to a few controversies involving its cast. By now, it’s been well documented that Shia LaBeouf was originally set to co-lead the film alongside Florence Pugh, though it was later reported that he was no longer part of the production. Wilde initially stated that LaBeouf had been fired and, in an interview that dropped last month, she doubled down on that, saying that his process involved a “combative energy.” The actor later refuted the claims and, now, he’s provided another response.

Shortly after Olivia Wilde’s interview dropped, Shia LaBeouf shared a number of emails and screenshots of texts sent between him and the director. At the time, LaBeouf said that his firing “never took place” and that he left the movie because he didn’t feel like he had an adequate amount of time to rehearse. In a statement, he also asked Wilde to “correct the narrative as best you can.” LaBeouf more recently spoke with THR and was asked about the “combative energy” claims. In that case, the star kept his comments on the matter brief: 

The sentiments line up with ones that the Peanut Butter Falcon alum made in his initial statement. At the time, he said that he hoped the situation wouldn’t “negatively” affect Olivia Wilde herself or the performance of Don’t Worry Darling. In an interview published last week, Wilde claimed that the situation was more “nuanced” than it’s been made out to be, though she wished the actor “the best” as he continues his personal recovery. Wilde received backlash across the Internet in the interim, with many especially making note of her comments in a recently surfaced video clip. 

Around the same time that Shia LaBeouf made his counterclaims, a video of Olivia Wilde leaked online. In it, Wilde asked LaBeouf to return, as she stated that she wanted to find a way to figure things out. The filmmaker also said that such a development would be “a bit of a wake-up call for Miss Flo,” referring to Florence Pugh. (Reports alleged that Pugh and LaBeouf had a difficult time working together.) It was subsequently reported that Pugh would skip press for the film, though she did attend the premiere at the Venice Film Festival. When Wilde was asked about her alleged feud with Pugh, she called her leading lady “a force” and said that she didn’t feel the “need to contribute” to the rumors. 

Amid the purported fallout, Shia LaBeouf has been making the rounds in the press circuit, discussing his latest film, Padre Pio, which got him out of his acting exile. He’s also been discussing his other works and aspects of his personal life, most notably explaining that his autobiographical movie, Honey Boy, included made up stuff about his father. Just recently, LaBeouf also landed a role in Megalopolis, the upcoming feature from Francis Ford Coppola. 

It seems both Shia LaBeouf and Olivia Wilde are aiming to move away from the situation surrounding Don’t Worry Darling, if their most recent comments are any indication. The controversy has certainly been complex, and chances are we may never know how things truly went down between the two.

Shia LaBeouf was on the verge of making a great comeback in Hollywood with movies like Honey Boy, The Peanut Butter Falcon, and Pieces of a Woman until various allegations put him at the lowest point of his career. With all of the trouble that has followed the former Disney Channel star’s reputation in recent years, he’s been trying to earn forgiveness. He was almost ready to throw in the towel until he was approached about a new film opportunity that would get him out of his acting exile called Padre Pio. 

When Shia LaBeouf was hitting rock bottom in his career and his life in general, he joined a spiritual Zoom meeting where fate led him to director Abel Ferrara about taking on a role in Padre Pio. The 36-year-old said in his interview with Bishop Robert Barron that it didn’t feel like a simple coincidence to get offered a role like this when things were going so terribly for him. In the actor's words:

While trouble has followed Shia LaBeouf in the past as he's faced petty theft and battery charges, what’s been taking over the headlines with LaBeouf more recently was a lawsuit that claimed he abused former girlfriend FKA Twigs, which removed him from the publicity and awards campaign of Pieces of a Woman. Not to mention that there’s also the conflicting stories of what really led to LaBeouf’s exit from Don’t Worry Darling. He told Bishop Barron that he lost direction in his life and felt like he couldn’t even go outside. Despite the Transformers actor seeking help in rehab, the underlying trauma and anger he was experiencing was enough for him to consider taking his own life.

What started as simply preparing for the lead role in Padre Pio led to a life-changing decision on his beliefs. The Jewish-born actor needed to learn about the Catholic faith and the Capuchin order to see where his Catholic saint character belonged. This led to him to driving to San Lorenzo Seminary in Santa Ynez, California, and from there, LaBeouf lived in the monastery amongst the Capuchins. He also learned how to say “Mass,” which was the center of St. Pio’s life. Over the course of several months, all of his research into the role turned into something much more at the point where he converted to Catholicism. LaBeouf continued to talk in the interview about what really grabbed his attention towards his newfound faith:

It appears that Padre Pio really was the saving grace that Shia LaBeouf needed in order to keep pushing forward in life. The Catholic-themed biopic made its debut at the Venice Film Festival with not-so-favorable reviews from critics. 

However, Shia LeBeouf ended up landing another role in Francis Ford Coppola's upcoming movie Megalopolis, which is about an architect who wants to build New York City as a utopia. If this actor learns how to stay away from controversy from here on out, he could end up having a very promising career for years to come. 

Shia LaBeouf’s current appearances in the news cycle have seen the controversial actor trying to make amends on several personal fronts. Part of those efforts have also tied into his supposed dismissal from Don’t Worry Darling, a production that LaBeouf claims to have voluntarily walked away from. In the midst of all of this new activity, LaBeouf has actually landed his next movie role. More recently confirmed by THR, LaBeouf will be joining Adam Driver, Jason Schwartzman and Nathalie Emmanuel, among others, in this impressive cast. According to a synopsis snagged by the latter publication, here’s what Megalopolis is all about: 

Megalopolis is an ambitious, $100 million independent movie that Francis Ford Coppola has been talking about making for some time. So casting Shia LaBeouf is a move that has caught eyes, especially as he’s tried to own up to the wrong he’s done in the past. Most recently, LaBeouf admitted to fabricating Honey Boy’s parental abuse narrative during his recent interview with actor/podcaster Jon Bernthal. 

Meanwhile, Shia LaBeouf has also found religion, a development he claims helped him save himself through initially trying to save his career with his upcoming project, Padre Pio. On the other side of the coin, the actor’s personal and professional process has resurfaced previous allegations and legal proceedings from the recent past. 

Towards the end of 2020, artist FKA Twigs filed a lawsuit against Shia LaBeouf, which included claims of various types of abuse, including, but not limited to, sexual battery and animal abuse. Controversy continues to surround LaBeouf, with his efforts to settle his past also present in the grand calculus of things. 

How the public will ultimately see Shia LaBeouf's efforts to rehabilitate his image is yet to be seen. The future is also vague for Francis Ford Coppola's Megalopolis, as the film is currently without dates specified for production or release. We’ll have to wait and see what happens on both fronts as they develop.

There’s been a ton of conversation surrounding Olivia Wilde’s upcoming psychological thriller Don’t Worry Darling and her alleged feud with the film's star Florence Pugh. This partly became because of the steamy sex scenes that will be shared between stars Florence Pugh and Harry Styles. But there’s also been a ton of chatter about Shia LaBeouf, who was originally going to play the leading male role eventually filmed by Styles. And while Wilde claimed LaBeouf was the problem on Don’t Worry Darling, it turns out she tried to work with him a second time after that.

Anticipation for Don’t Worry Darling has been steadily growing, largely thanks to the cast featuring pop star/actor Harry Styles. But Shia LaBeouf was actually the first actor attached to play the role of Jack. Wilde claimed she fired the Transformers actor, leading him to respond online and for things to quickly go viral. Although it turns out that despite the on-set drama, she actually tried to direct him in a music video shortly thereafter. Let’s break down what we know thanks to a report by THR.

HOW OLIVIA WILDE AND SHIA LABEOUF ALMOST WORKED TOGETHER AFTER DON'T WORRY DARLING BROUHAHA

Shia LaBeouf was originally set to star opposite Florence Pugh in Don’t Worry Darling. Eventually, he departed the role, with both he and Wilde providing conflicting stories about exactly what went down. But however his departure did go down, the two actually started collaborating on another project: a music video for singer/actress Rainey Qualley. The music video starred LaBeouf and Maid actress Margaret Qualley, with Olivia Wilde reportedly attached to direct as a favor to the sisters. But ultimately this didn’t exactly shake out as planned.

While Olivia Wilde filmed the footage for the “Love Me Like You Hate Me” video, she reportedly wasn’t able to actually complete her job. Namely, because Shia LaBeouf worked on his own cut, and submitted it before Wilde had done the same. Apparently, the two clashed via e-mail over this, before Wilde departed the project altogether. Combine this story with the Don’t Worry Darling recasting, and suddenly their feud makes all the more sense.

WHAT OLIVIA WILDE ORIGINALLY SAID ABOUT SHIA LABEOUF'S DON'T WORRY DARLING DEPARTURE

During original press for Don’t Worry Darling, Olivia Wilde implied she fired Shia LaBeouf from the upcoming project, and that he might have been the issue on set. During a previous interview with Variety, the director/actress spoke about this turn of events, saying: 

But Shia LaBeouf has seemingly taken umbrage with this insinuation, and has defended himself and told a conflicting story about what went down. The Honey Boy writer claimed that she left the movie because he couldn’t rehearse with the cast before filming. What’s more, video footage leaked of Wilde asking him to return to the set, and seemingly casting judgment on Florence Pugh. And as such, the entire situation has gotten dizzying. And that’s not even considering Wilde being served with custody papers during her CinemaCon presentation of the movie.

Actor Shia LaBeouf grew up in front of the public eye, starting with his role on Disney’s Even Stevens. Over the decades he established himself as a serious actor and filmmaker, while also having some public struggles and legal issues. And recently LaBeouf admitted the abusive stuff about his father in the movie Honey Boy was made up.

Honey Boy was released back in 2019, and was seemingly based around Shia LaBeouf’s real-life experience as a child star in the early 2000’s. In addition to writing the screenplay, he also played his father in the drama. But during a recent appearance on Real Ones with Jon Bernthal, LaBeouf got honest about his work on that movie, including that some of the abusive sequences were totally fictional. As he explained, 

Talk about a shocking turn of events. Indeed, Honey Boy was a movie that was centered around young protagonist Otis (Noah Jupe) and the toxic relationship he had with his father James (LaBeouf) while dealing with the pressure of leading a TV show. And despite what Shia LaBeouf might have said during press for the movie, it turns out that his father was seemingly never abusive IRL.

Part of what made Honey Boy such a powerful viewing experience was because of how much Shia LaBeouf put himself into the project. On top of writing the screenplay, embodying one’s father seemed like an exercise in both therapy and acting. His girlfriend at the time FKA Twigs also had a role. But it turns out that what we saw on screen wasn’t necessarily accurate to what happened at the time LaBeouf was a Disney star.

Later in his same conversation with Jon Bernthal, Shia LaBeouf further explained what his relationship with his father was like, including during his years working on Even Stevens. Rather than it being tense and abusive, that seemingly wasn’t the case. As the Transformers alum explained,

This revelation is sure to change how audiences watch Honey Boy moving forward. Upon its release, the drama was a hit with critics and audiences alike. In fact, it sits certified fresh with a 95% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. But clearly Shia LaBeouf is looking inward, and getting honest with the public about his work on that film.

It has been a rough few years for Shia LaBeouf as he has faced numerous allegations and claims about his behavior on and off set. While his acting career has remained steady, his latest role as the real-life friar-turned-saint Padre Pio in an upcoming biopic may have been a turning point for him. Being a method actor, LaBeouf chose to live in a monastery to feel closer to the late Catholic friar. But his research led to him converting to Catholicism in the process.

According to New York Post, the Honey Boy actor opened up about his conversion to Word on Fire Catholic Ministries’ Bishop Robert Barron on the bishop’s YouTube page. Being a thorough actor, living in a monastery was nothing to Shia LaBeouf. But when LaBeouf began living amongst priests, something slowly started to become interested in Catholicism. The former Disney star admitted his research to play Padre Pio came at a low time in his life.

It seemed like doing the biopic was a case of “right role, right time.” LaBeouf already seemed to be transitioning away from his Hollywood life before he got the part of the Catholic saint. It seemed like going to the monastery was a life-transforming event for him. But his conversion seemed instantaneous rather than gradually for the Transformer star.

Shia LaBeouf admitted to the bishop he didn’t feel worthy of seeking salvation in any faith. That was until he met others who dealt with moral issues while living there. The 36-year-old actor revealed who he felt seen amongst the monastery’s residents.

Before his conversion to Catholicism, Shia LaBeouf was at the lowest point in his life as he faced a personal and professional crossroads. He was dealing with the fallout following a lawsuit alleging abuse from ex-girlfriend FKA Twigs and his alleged firing from Olivia Wilde’s Don’t Worry Darling, which is a film surrounded by lots of drama, especially surrounded an alleged feud between Wilde and Florence Pugh. LaBeouf divulged to Bishop Barron where his mindset was before finding his faith.

So, LaBeouf’s darkest hour seemed endless at that moment. Of course, the Fury actor has been open about his issues with post-traumatic stress disorder and anger. The trauma was deep enough for Shia LaBeouf to contemplate ending his life.

Padre Pio will be Shia LaBeouf’s first project since receiving critical acclaim for 2020’s Pieces of a Woman. The Catholic-themed biopic will make its world premiere at the Venice Film Festival. In the meantime, there are multiple upcoming movies still coming out in 2022.

Before Harry Styles nabbed one of the leading roles in Olivia Wilde’s Don’t Worry Darling, Shia LaBeouf was initially cast in the role. It has long been believed that the Transformers actor was fired from the thriller before the pop singer stepped in, but this week LaBeouf has provided a conflicting story. LaBeouf says he quit the movie and seemingly provided a video of Wilde asking him to return to the project, which has now arrived online. 

A video file of Olivia Wilde speaking to Shia LaBeouf and asking him back on Don’t Worry Darling was sent to Variety by LaBeouf alongside other alleged email correspondents between him and the actress-turned-director. It has surfaced online, including all around Twitter, where it can be confirmed that Wilde sent LaBeouf a video message while driving in her car. She starts the video by addressing “Shia” before going on to say this: 

LaBeouf’s decision to forward past emails and the video communications between himself and Olivia Wilde follows the Don’t Worry Darling director making a statement earlier this week in a Variety cover story that says Wilde “made the decision to fire” him alongside a quote where she says that “his process was not conductive” to what she was looking for in the film and she had a “responsibility is to the production and to the cast to protect them.” 

The leaked video, allegedly sent to Shia LaBeouf on August 19, 2020, two days after he claims he “officially” quit the project due to inadequate time to rehearse seems to show that Wilde asked LaBeouf to return to Don’t Worry Darling and also cites some possibly tensions between him and the movie’s star, Florence Pugh. 

In addition to the developments from LaBeouf, there have previously been rumors swirling about drama between Olivia Wilde and Florence Pugh. The actress known for her work in Midsommar and Black Widow has also spoken out about the movie’s sex scenes being an unnecessary focus ahead of the film’s release. Most recently, a New Line Cinema executive told The Wrap that Pugh will limit her press tour for the film while she continues to film Dune, fueling suspicions of tensions with the film further. 

Once Shia LaBeouf parted ways from Don’t Worry Darling, Harry Styles was then replaced in his role instead and Olivia Wilde and Styles began dating not soon after. The couple, who remain together following Wilde’s split from Jason Sudiekis, have been met with “toxic negativity” online, especially since Wilde started as Styles’ boss, which Styles recently spoke to.  

Despite a number of controversies now surrounding Don’t Worry Darling’s production, there’s a lot to be excited about the thriller also starring Chris Pine and Gemma Chan. The film is set to premiere at the Venice Film Festival on September 5 before the 2022 movie release hits theaters on September 23. 

Earlier this week Olivia Wilde talked about all the ins and outs of creating Don’t Worry Darling, revealing that Shia LaBeouf was originally supposed to play the role that is now being played by pop superstar Harry Styles. Things didn’t work out between the two and LaBeouf was no longer part of the production as of August 2020. 

It's now coming out that the reasons behind why LaBeouf left Don’t Worry Darling are not so clear. While Wilde said she fired him, LaBeouf’s said he quit. Here is what the two sides have to say for themselves.

What Olivia Wilde Said About Shia LaBeouf’s Exit From Don't Worry Darling

In a profile with Variety, Wilde explained that she and Florence Pugh, who plays the main character in the film, were both excited about having Harry Styles on board. However, his touring schedule initially made it so he could not participate in the film. So, LaBeouf was hired. Wilde was a fan of his work, however, things were not working out. She said: 

LaBeouf has been at the center of multiple controversies throughout the course of his career, from petty theft to abuse claims leveled at the actor. Not long after his departure from Don’t Worry Darling, his ex-girlfriend FKA Twigs sued him for sexual battery and he split with his agency CAA. He then entered an inpatient facility.

Wilde continued by saying she was “troubled” by what she learned about LaBeouf’s behavior after what happened with her film and she wished him “health and evolution.” Yet, she said her set needed to be supportive and safe, especially with the “vulnerable situations” Pugh was being put in.

The Peanut Butter Falcon actor responded to Wilde not long after the profile was published saying he left the film because he didn’t feel the actors had enough time to rehearse. He even sent screenshots of texts he had sent Wilde in August of 2020 explaining that he was leaving the production. After the profile was published LaBeouf emailed Wilde. His take? 

In the email sent to Variety, LaBeouf acknowledges that his “firing is attractive clickbait” because of his muddled reputation. He said what happened with his ex-girlfriend is “fundamental and real” but they are not part of this story. LaBeouf continued saying what Wilde said is not true, and it is making it harder for him to “crawl out of the hole” he had put himself in due to his erratic behavior in the past. 

Whether he quit or he was fired, Don’t Worry Darling did come together and has created lots of buzz since. Styles opened up about his relationship with Wilde earlier this week. Wilde was served custody papers during her presentation at CinemaCon from her ex Jason Sudeikis. There are also rumors going around about Pugh and Wilde feuding and Pugh making less than Styles.

It’s well known that Shia LaBeouf has gone to dangerous lengths for his roles. And that really became apparent in his work on David Ayer’s 2014 film Fury, where the actor played a member of a tank crew in World War II alongside Brad Pitt, Logan Lerman, Michael Peña, Jon Bernthal and Scott Eastwood. When Eastwood recently reflected on being on the set of the film, he recalled a “volatile” moment between him and LaBeouf that got out of hand and even involved Pitt.

Scott Eastwood recently shared that while he was on the set of Fury, his character had a moment on set where he was supposed to spit on the tank the main crew of actors lived on in the film. However, the beat led to an uncomfortable on-set moment between him and Shia LaBeouf. In Eastwood’s words:

Said prep involved David Ayer sending them to a boot camp run by Navy Seals. It was there that the group spent extended periods in the tank together (in which some were fighting each other). Dakota Johnson has worked with a large number of incredible actors and filmmakers throughout her career. She’s, of course, been the leading lady to Christian Grey’s fantasies in the Fifty Shades movies, along with being part of a ton of critically-acclaimed films such as The Social Network, Black Mass, Suspiria, The Peanut Butter Falcon and soon, The Lost Daughter. When looking at her experiences under a microscope, the actress had the rare opportunity to work with three men who have been the subject of abuse allegations as well: Johnny Depp, Armie Hammer and Shia LaBeouf. 

As these situations have cropped up, as an audience we often become conflicted. If we loved Johnny Depp movies, can we separate the artist from the art and enjoy his films, or do we blacklist these actors due to the funny feeling that may come up knowing that in their personal lives, a libel trial rages on with his ex Amber Heard following major abuse allegations? Dakota Johnson wrestles with this too, as she shared her experiences working with these actors in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter:  

As Dakota Johnson said to the trade, she did not personally have a negative experience working with Johnny Depp, with whom she worked on 2015’s Black Mass, playing Whitey Bulger’s girlfriend Lindsey Cyr. Or Shia LaBeouf, with whom she starred in 2019’s The Peanut Butter Falcon, and faces a sexual battery lawsuit from ex-girlfriend and singer, FKA Twigs. Nor Armie Hammer, who checked himself into a rehab facility in Florida for drug, alcohol and sex addition following abuse allegations over the summer. Johnson continued her thoughts on her former co-stars, saying,  

Oftentimes when headlines pop up regarding some of the actions of these actors, such as these Dakota Johnson has worked with, there’s a tendency for the public to go from the extreme of idolizing to completely “cancelling” the person. At the end of the day, we’re all human and while no one is excusing their actions here, Dakota Johnson certainly speaks to the bigger picture. She believes that perhaps these men can see the other side of their current struggles, but at the same time believes in keeping people accountable as well as this particular moment calls for it. She continued, 

There’s uncertainty right now about how Hollywood will look at these actors moving forward. Johnny Depp was recast in the Fantastic Beasts movies after losing a libel lawsuit regarding allegations that called him a “wife beater.” Armie Hammer dropped out a host of roles as of late, and Shia LaBeouf's career has been quiet. As Johnson described, above all else, it’s a “sad” situation for all parties involved. 

Dakota Johnson’s next film is The Lost Daughter, which co-stars Olivia Colman and is written and directed by Maggie Gyllenhaal. It will be released on December 17. 

Shia LaBeouf has been praised for his great skills as an actor, but off the set the man has had a less than stellar track record. More than once he's found himself in legal trouble and now he's dealing with a pair of legal issues, one in civil court, and another in criminal court. At the end of 2020 he was sued by a former girlfriend who claims the actor abused her. Prior to that, LaBeouf was charged with petty theft stemming from a physical altercation last summer. Now, it looks like that case may never go to trial, as long as LaBeouf completes a year long diversion program set up by the court.

Last summer Shia LaBeouf got in a physical altercation with a man in Los Angeles and apparently left the scene with the man's hat, leading to charges of petty theft and battery. TMZ reports that the judge in the case has now offered LaBeouf a way out of going through with the trial. It includes attending private therapy for anger management at least once a week for the next 12 months. He must also continue with alcohol monitoring, the actor has already been dealing with rehab since last fall following the lawsuit against him. In addition, he must not obtain, or make an attempt to obtain, a firearm in the next 12 months, and must not attempt to use force or violence again in the next year.

If Shia LaBeouf can meet these requirements, then the charges against him will be dropped and there will be no trial. The court will check on him in three months to make sure he's been following the terms. He's also required to stay 100 yards away from the location of the incident, and 100 years away from the victim.

At their core these expectations seem simple enough, but a year's worth of anger management certainly indicates the court is taking this seriously. It's unclear exactly what happened between Shia LaBeouf and the victim, but obviously the police viewed the actor as the aggressor in the incident and feel that anger was at the core.

Both charges against Shia LaBeouf are misdemeanors, so the potential punishment is, by comparison, minimal, if he goes to trial and is found guilty. But he could still have to pay a serious fine would probably receive some jail time. The fact that LaBeouf has entered into this new program, rather than simply pleading guilty to the charges, would indicate that whatever the potential punishment is, he's looking to avoid it.

This isn't exactly Shia LaBeouf's first brush with the law. He's been arrested before, for disorderly conduct in 2017 and public drunkenness in 2015. And he is still dealing with the lawsuit against him filed by FKA Twigs.

It’s been a couple of months now since FKA Twigs filed a newsworthy lawsuit alleging that she was mistreated by Shia LaBeouf during their time as a couple and also once said he’d killed stray dogs to prep for a role. Now, after Shia LaBeouf’s legal team has responded to the lawsuit, news has broken that LaBeouf himself has headed to rehab.

News broke this week that Shia LaBeouf has made some serious changes in his life in the near future. He dropped out of his agency CAA (it’s worth noting he was not officially fired and instead stepped back). He also is allegedly taking a break from acting and committing to a rehab program, per Variety.

Reports indicate he is in an inpatient rehab facility and has been getting help for at least five weeks, with that news coming after the actor had been reportedly shopping around for a place to get treatment. It’s unclear exactly what he is seeking help for. Shia LaBeouf previously said following the FKA Twigs lawsuit that he has been “abusive” to himself for years and also has struggles with dealing with “alcoholism” and “aggression.” At the time, he also apologized for any mistreatment any of his exes may have felt, though he denied the specific allegations set forth, saying many of them were untrue.

The latest rehab news comes after a torrent of struggles in Shia LaBeouf’s personal life, as the lawsuit led to a chain of other events. First, ex-girlfriend FKA Twigs sued the actor in December citing LaBeouf “hurts women” and “abuses them,” relaying alleged incidents from her time dating the actor in 2018 and 2019. At the time, he was dating Once Upon A Time In Hollywood star Margaret Qualley, though the two have since split. He was also a contender for awards season until the allegations were made and Netflix scrubbed him from its For Your Consideration advertising.

In the time since, Shia LaBeouf’s own legal team has responded and denied many of the allegations that were set forth in the FKA Twigs lawsuit. Per LaBeouf’s legal team the actor categorically denies the allegations filed in court by Twigs under her birth name Tahliah Barnett.

Shia LaBeouf has had a past rife with incidents. He’s been arrested multiple times and there’s video of him going on NSFW rants while dealing with officers while intoxicated. He also had an allegedly torrid relationship with his ex Mia Goth. Previously, he sought treatment for alcohol addiction and his mental health issues in the past, noting he’s also been diagnosed with PTSD, revealing in 2018:

Now, Shia LaBeouf is back in treatment, though his lawsuit with FKA Twigs is ongoing. We’ll keep you updated as it moves forward in the court system. FKA Twigs decided to file the suit, said her lawyer Bryan Freedman, to “prevent others from unknowingly suffering similar abuse by him.”

Hollywood is pretty familiar with its stars getting involved with one another, and while plenty of these celebrity relationships simply end, some end in chaos. This seems to ring true for Shia LaBeouf and FKA Twigs, whose nine month relationship has resulted in legal proceedings. LaBeouf is no stranger to scandal, but now the former Disney star has been accused of abuse in the suit filed by his ex-girlfriend/Honey Boy co-star. The lawsuit was filed back in December and claims LaBeouf both mentally and physically abused, as well as sexually assaulted, FKA Twigs. Both celebrities have spoken out since the suit has gone public.

According to Us Weekly, Shia LaBeouf’s attorney submitted a case management statement last month that disputes the allegations made by FKA Twigs and states that he is open to mediation. This, for the most part, stays in line with LaBeouf’s most recent statements. After having read the lawsuit, LaBeouf stated that although most of what was laid out by his ex-girlfriend never happened, he did accept responsibility for the things that did occur.

However, both the Transformers star and his lawyer made somewhat different statements back in December when the lawsuit was newly filed. LaBeouf spoke of his alcoholism and aggression, saying he has a history of hurting both himself and the people in his life. His lawyer made a statement that LaBeouf desperately needed help that long term inpatient treatment could give, and that he was seeking that help.

As well as doubling down on his denial of the abuse specifically laid out in the lawsuit, the statement also says LaBeouf would not be opposed to going to mediation over the case. If mediation over the case happens, it is possible this proceeding never goes to court as long as both parties reach an agreement. Mediation can be tricky to tackle in cases of abuse accusations, as the victim may not wish to engage so closely to the alleged abuser. FKA Twigs could decline to participate in mediation and take the case to a courtroom.

Although the actions laid out in the lawsuit are only accusations and allegations for now, other women have spoken out in solidarity with FKA Twigs. Both Sia, who has previously had a relationship with Shia LaBeouf, and Karolyn Pho, another of LaBeouf’s ex-girlfriends, have made claims of being on the receiving end of abuse from the actor. Netflix and possibly even his most recent partner have seemed to wash their hands of LaBeouf.

FKA Twigs released a statement after filing the lawsuit saying one reason she decided to go through with making her story known was that she wanted to help people understand that anyone can be caught up by an abusive relationship. Even though she had the money and means to leave the abuse, she did not. This is common for people who go through emotional and/or physical abuse.

The outcome of the lawsuit filed by FKA Twigs against Shia LaBeouf is, of course, yet unknown. At the very least, FKA Twigs hope it will spread understanding about a historically taboo subject and give voices to those who believe they have none because anyone, even a celebrity, can be a victim of domestic violence.

By now, if you are reading this, it’s likely that you saw Pieces of a Woman on Netflix. The movie stars Vanessa Kirby in an emotionally-wrecking role about a woman who loses her baby. Critics have been talking about how the film features Oscar material performances since it premiered in September. Kirby may even have a Best Actress nod coming her way. Unfortunately, far too many headlines about the movie have been related to Shia LaBeouf's recent problems, and that's a shame given how incredible she is.

It all started back in December, just ahead of the release of Pieces Of A Woman. LaBeouf’s ex partner FKA Twigs dropped a lawsuit, and given the seriousness of the allegations, the coverage was everywhere. That suit claimed the actor had bragged about killing stray dogs to prep for a role and had allegedly choked her at another point, among a lengthy list of other accusations. Just a few scant weeks later, Pieces of a Woman premiered on Netflix.

Along with Vanessa Kirby, Shia LaBeouf stars in Pieces of a Woman as Kirby’s character Martha’s partner, Sean. in the lead up to the general public release of Pieces of a Woman, people were talking about both actors’ powerhouse performances. LaBeouf, along with Kirby, was a part of Netflix’s “For Your Consideration” campaign ahead of awards season. There was great hope one or both would be nominated; however, after the allegations of LaBeouf's abusive personal life behavior came to light, the actor was quietly scrubbed from all of those campaigns, though people noticed the change.

Meanwhile, on the press tour for Pieces of a Woman both Vanessa Kirby and the director of the film Kornél Mundruczó were asked about the Shia LaBeouf allegations. His co-star Ellen Burstyn said he was always “professional” on set, though Mundruczo did say the allegations were “serious and hard to read.” For her own part, Vanessa Kirby also clarified her stance in a statement ahead of the movie’s wide release, noting to the Independent:

The case is similar to what happened after allegations came out about James Franco and some of his practices on set and in his acting workshops the same year that his critical hit The Disaster Artist came out in 2018. In that case, The Disaster Artist was mostly shut out of the Oscars race, receiving only a screenplay nomination. In Shia LaBeouf’s acting history, the actor has won some awards but had previously not been nominated for an Oscar, despite earning good reviews for Honey Boy and The Peanut Butter Falcon. An Oscar nomination this year was far from guaranteed but it was within the realm of possibilities prior to the allegations against him going public.

The good news is that some people have still been paying attention to Vanessa Kirby’s powerhouse performance in the Netflix film, with reviews and fan reactions featuring descriptors including “striking,” “profoundly moving,” and “very well done,” though playing Martha certainly wasn't an easy role to take on. Her performance had previously been touted as one to watch ahead of the Oscars and now that the movie is more widely available to the masses, Pieces of a Woman is still very much a part of that conversation. It's just too bad all of the conversation hasn't been about the really well done movie itself, or at least the wonderful performances of Vanessa Kirby and her co-stars. Outside of Shia LaBeouf, no one involved with the movie had anything to do with what allegedly happened, and they deserve to be recognized without caveats.

Oscar nominations will officially be out on March 15. The hope would be at the end of all of this, Pieces of A Woman will see a renewed focus, as Oscar nominees typically see interest rise after awards season noms are out. How are actors supposed to react when a co-star they’ve shared intimate time with on a set faces difficult public accusations in their private lives? You might believe they’re inclined to stand up for the co-star that they have gotten to know through work. But when the accusations are very serious, and the details of the case remain unknown, it puts co-stars in an awkward situation of having to explain the man or woman they know from acting alongside them, and how that might not marry up with the image that’s being painted in headlines.

Shia LaBeouf knows his way around controversy. The actor has nabbed as many headlines for off-set antics and illegal behaviors as he has for his professional performances, which is unfortunate because he can be a talented actor when he wants to be. LaBeouf is part of a film that is getting Oscar heat as of late, Kornel Mundruczo’s Pieces of a Woman, and it was during a recent press stint with USA Today where Woman co-stars Ellen Burstyn and Vanessa Kirby were asked about the allegations leveled at Shia LaBeouf by his ex, singer-songwriter FKA Twigs.

Burstyn spoke first, stating:

Vanessa Kirby plays Shia LaBeouf’s wife in Pieces of a Woman, and called the job “a professional experience” before quickly turning the conversation back around to the film, and the subject matter without going too deep into the allegations of physical and emotional abuse that has been levied at LaBeouf.

But Shia LaBeouf’s Pieces of a Woman director didn’t hold back, as Kornel Mundruczo told USA Today:

The allegations filed by FKA Twigs in a lawsuit claim that Shia LaBeouf was abusive to her when the two were in a relationship in 2019. The singer accuses LaBeouf of sexual battery, assault and the infliction of emotional distress. The fallout from these accusations has continued to hang over LaBeouf’s career like a cloud. The For Your Consideration awards campaign on behalf of Pieces of a Woman removed Shia LaBeouf from its marketing. Olivia Wilde replaced LaBeouf on her new movie with Harry Styles. And the actor reportedly has sought long-term in-patient treatment for his demons.

Coincidentally, the It: Chapter Two star will soon appear in The Good Nurse - the true crime story of an MD (Eddie Redmayne) whose “faulty” performance causes hundreds of patient deaths.

Chadwick Boseman (Derek Taylor)

In the final season of ER, a then-31-year-old Chadwick Boseman appeared as a boxer alongside screen legend (and future The Mandalorian star) Carl Weathers as his father. After playing the lead of Black Panther just a decade later, the actor would become a screen legend himself and will be remembered as such long after his untimely death in August 2020, following a private cancer battle, at the age of 43.

J.K. Simmons (Gus Loomer)

Speaking of legendary Marvel movie performances, Palms Springs star J.K. Simmons reprised J. Jonah Jameson for the MCU in Spider-Man: Far From Home in 2019. Back in 2004, on ER, the future Oscar winner played a man more concerned with the state of his Hummer than his own health after suffering a crash that he survived, but two others did not.

Danny Pudi (Mahir Kardatay)

Community’s Abed Nadir actor Danny Pudi had a more low-key Marvel movie appearance as a S.H.I.E.L.D. communications technician in Captain America: The Winter Soldier. His second acting gig was a prominent guest role on Season 12 of ER as a man who gets in a violent brawl with his sister’s boyfriend while she is treated at County General for stab wounds in the neck.

Chris Pine (Levine)

Danny Pudi would later appear in 2016’s Star Trek Beyond opposite Chris Pine, playing Capt. James T. Kirk a third time before starring in two Wonder Woman movies as Steve Trevor. This impressive career all started with an appearance on Season 9 of ER lasting mere seconds as a patient still drunk from a Valentine’s Day party… from five days earlier.

Anton Yelchin (Robbie Edelstein)

Chris Pine’s Star Trek co-star Anton Yelchin also made his debut on ER as a 10-year-old survivor of a car crash that killed his parents. Sadly, the talented actor passed away in 2016, at the age of 27, when his own Jeep rolled backward, struck him, and pinned him against the his home’s security fence.

Dakota Fanning (Delia Chadsey)

Another one of Anton Yelchin’s earlier roles was in the Steven Spielberg-produced sci-fi miniseries Taken opposite an 8-year-old Dakota Fanning. The now 26-year-old Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood actress also made her debut on ER as a 6-year-old recovering leukemia patient whose need for further chemo treatment is discovered after suffering a car accident.

Kathy Griffin (Dolores Minky)

Speaking of Quentin Tarantino movies, he actually directed a Season 1 episode of ER starring Kathy Griffin, who had previously worked with the director on Pulp Fiction. The comedian and former Bravo reality show star plays the troop leader for eight young Ranger Scouts who are all sent to County General with diarrhea.

Shia LaBeouf (Darnel Smith)

After ER, Kathy Griffin would a land a starring role on the sitcom Suddenly Susan, on which a young Shia LaBeouf once guest starred on. The former Disney Channel and Transformers star, who later made a name for himself with bizarre performance art (among other things), also appeared on the medical drama's sixth season as a patient with muscular dystrophy.

Josh Gad (Sgt. Bruce Larabee)

Also famous for his work with Disney, following his Tony-nominated performance in The Book of Mormon, is Josh Gad - the voice of Olaf in the Frozen movies. His first gig as part of the Screen Actors Guild was a 2005 episode ER as a combat medic stationed in Iraq with Michael Gallant (Sharif Atkins).

Katee Sackhoff (Jason’s Girlfriend)

Josh Gad also lent his his voice to the animated Star Wars: Rebels series, which also stars Katee Sackhoff as Bo-Katan Kryze - whom she recently brought to live action on The Mandalorian. Before Battlestar Galactica sparked her career as sci-fi royalty, she starred on a Halloween episode of ER from 2002 which, coincidentally, is the year she appeared in the infamous Halloween: Resurrection. Bonus fact: this was the first of four episodes starring MCU's future War Machine actor Don Cheadle.

Ewan McGregor (Duncan Stewart)

Speaking of Star Wars actors, playing a young Obi-Wan Kenobi in the prequel trilogy skyrocketed Ewan McGregor to the A-list. The Golden Globe-winning Scotsman actor had already received acclaim for his lead role in Trainspotting a year before playing a desperate man holding Dr. Carol Hathaway (Julianna Margulies) and others hostage at a convenience store on ER's third season.

Nick Offerman (Rog)

Ewan McGregor won his Golden Globe for FX's Fargo, which, in its previous season, had starred Nick Offerman (Parks and Recreation's Ron Swanson and Megan Mullally's husband) in a recurring role. The actor made his TV debut as aspiring rock star whose bass player band mate is rushed into County General on ER's mockumentary style Season 4 premiere that was filmed and broadcasted live.

Adam Scott (David Kerstetter)

Nick Offerman's Parks and Recreation co-star Adam Scott (who has made more dramatic turns recently in Black Mass or the HBO series Big Little Lies) can also boast ER as one of his earliest acting gigs. In the medical drama's first season, the then 22-year-old played a man bleeding out of his chest after being hit by a car.

Lin Shaye (Margaret)

Adam Scott also a few horror movies under his belt, as recently as Krampus or as early as Hellraiser: Bloodline, but Lin Shaye of Insidious and A Nightmare on Elm Street fame, a living legend of the genre. The 77-year-old actress, and sister of New Line Cinema founder Bob Shaye, also had the honor appearing on the final episode of ER.

Octavia Spencer (Maria Jones)

Another star I regard as an underrated Scream Queen (for Drag Me to Hell, the title role of Ma, and the grandmother in Robert Zemeckis' The Witches remake) is Octavia Spencer. Yet, years before she became the Academy Award-winning star of The Help, the actress appeared on Season 5 of ER as a pregnant woman thinking of having her third abortion.

Keegan-Michael Key (Witkowski)

While his best friend and writing parter Jordan Peele has since graduated into scarier and dramatic projects more frequently, Keegan-Michael Key is still trucking with plenty of comedic parts on his resume as of late. However, ironically, the now 49-year-old former MADtv star made his TV debut on ER in the eighth season of the popular and often humorless medical drama

Kal Penn (Narajan)

After hitting it big as one-half of the titular duo from the smash hit stoner comedy Harold and Kumar Go to White Castle, Kal Penn would soon graduate into more serious projects, such as a position in the Obama Administration and playing a doctor on House from 2007-2012. His first time playing a medical professional, however, was in a brief appearance on ER in a 2001 episode from the series' eighth season.

Jared Padalecki (Paul Harris)

Early 2021 sees Jared Padalecki graduate to a new genre, specifically the western, as the title character of The CW's Walker after chasing ghosts and goblins on Supernatural as Sam Winchester for 15 seasons. Yet, while the 38-year-old Scream King was still a series regular on Gilmore Girls, he played a high school student who gets in a car crash with his father, played by Jim Belushi, after arguing over his future as a hockey player on a Season 7 episode of ER.

Jeffrey Dean Morgan (Firefighter Larkin)

Starring as Jared Padalecki's father on Supernatural was Jeffrey Dean Morgan, whose best known role in the realm of medical TV dramas is on Grey's Anatomy as Denny Duquette, Izzie Stevens' (Katherine Heigl) patient and love interest. However, it was only a few years earlier when the prolific comic book adaptation actor appeared on the seventh season of ER as a firefighter undergoing a leg amputation.

And now the latest reports indicate that Magaret Qualley might be breaking up with him in the midst of the ongoing legal situation.

These reports come to us from People, which cites an unnamed source close to Shia LaBeouf and Margaret Qualley. Said source claims that the former couple broke up last weekend, although there hasn't been any official confirmation from either party's team. Furthermore another anonymous person claims that Qualley was actively trying to distance herself from LaBeouf as a result of his ongoing legal battle and controversy.

Despite this supposed breakup, Shia LaBeouf and Margaret Qualley were photographed together just days ago. They were seen holding hands in late December, so news of their split is actually quite surprising. But considering just how much negative attention LaBeouf has been getting over the past few weeks, it would make sense of the 26 year-old actress decided to dodge any potential backlash that could have come from that romantic relationship.

As previously mentioned, Margaret Qualley is an actress in her own right. She was given a big platform thanks to her main role in HBO's The Leftovers, while also appearing on the small screen in Fosse/Verdon. But perhaps Qualley's most notable credit was playing barefoot Manson family member Pussycat in Quentin Tarantino's Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.

The suit mentions incidents ranging from LaBeouf reportedly choking her to saying he’d admitted to killing stray dogs to prep for a role. A separate former partner also made allegations as well. As all of that news was breaking, we also learned that Shia LaBeouf had actually been fired from director Olivia Wilde’s movie prior to those allegations earlier this year following "poor" behavior.

Who replaced Shia LaBeouf in Olivia Wilde’s upcoming film Don’t Worry, Darling? Well, Harry Styles did. Having appeared already in Dunkirk, casting the One Direction star wasn’t such an outside-the-box choice, but it was on the set of Don’t Worry, Darling that Olivia Wilde and Harry Styles reportedly really hit it off.

When Did Harry Styles And Olivia Wilde Start Dating?

Harry Styles and Olivia Wilde started working together on Don’t Worry, Darling this past fall after Styles landed the role formerly occupied by LaBeouf. At the time, Wilde was seemingly still engaged to Jason Sudeikis; however, in November, news broke they had officially split and that the split had actually occurred way back at the beginning of 2020. So, by the time she began work on her sophomore directorial project she was in the free and clear to begin dating again.

Apparently, on set her “chemistry” with Harry Styles was “obvious” and their working relationship “quickly turned romantic,” according to a brand new report over at People. Reports indicate they’ve been dating for several weeks, though the news only went wide after Olivia Wilde attended a wedding with Harry Styles. At that event, they were seen holding hands. Prior to the news that Harry Styles and Olivia Wilde were officially dating broke, the actress and director defended Styles’ choice to wear a dress on the cover of Vogue magazine, so they’ve at least been in each others’ orbit for a few months now.

While Don’t Worry, Darling had a setback during the era of Covid, it eventually got back on track, hopefully for a 2021 release, though we know the theatrical schedule is wonky these days. We’ll have to wait and see if Harry Styles and Olivia Wilde are still an item at that point, but for now, they do sound very much smitten. And it probably never would have happened if Shia LaBeouf hadn’t gotten himself fired.

Throughout his career, Shia LaBeouf has dealt with a number of legal issues and, recently, his ex-girlfriend, singer and actress FKA Twigs, filed a lawsuit against him. In the suit, she alleges that LaBeouf “hurts women” and that he “abuses them, both physically and mentally,” and she also claims the actor once bragged about killing stray dogs. Since FKA Twig – who starred alongside LaBeouf in Honey Boy – made the claims against her ex, the film’s director, Alma Har'el, has spoken out on the situation. Har’el expressed support for FKA Twigs, praising her “courage and resilience” in the face of the situation. The filmmaker also acknowledged her “past investment” in Shia LaBeouf’s recovery, which included shining a light on his childhood.

The lawsuit also drew a response from singer and actress Sia, who alleged that she was “hurt emotionally” by LaBeouf and claimed that he “conned” her into an adulterous relationship. She also lent her support to FKA Twigs.

Florence Pugh and Harry Styles are playing the leads, but they are joined in the ensemble by an excellent supporting cast that includes Chris Pine, Gemma Chan, KiKi Layne, Nick Kroll, and Olivia Wilde herself. The movie is the actor/director's follow-up to 2019's critically acclaimed coming-of-age comedy Booksmart, but will be wholly new genre territory as the movie has been described as a psychological horror story.

Filming on the movie had to hit pause for two weeks this fall due to a positive COVID-19 test on set, but it's reportedly now back on track. Don't Worry, Darling is being produced by and is set up for distribution with Warner Bros., but a release date has not yet been announced.

As for what the future holds for Shia LaBeouf in Hollywood, the answer is unclear. His next film, Kornél Mundruczó's Pieces of A Woman will be streaming on Netflix next month, but beyond that he doesn't have any upcoming projects. The actor has issued a public apology to FKA Twigs for his behavior, explaining that he has "no excuses for [his] alcoholism or aggression, only rationalizations" and saying that he is ashamed of his history hurting the people closest to him.

It’s been a week since singer and actress FKA Twigs dropped a lawsuit alleging her former partner Shia LaBeouf had been abusive during the duration of their relationship together. The two had met on the set of the film Honey Boy in 2018 and dated subsequently. Now the director of that film, Alma Har’el, has commented on the matter.

As a lawsuit is ongoing, Alma Har’el did not speak on any of the specifics of the matter. The accusations FKA Twigs, aka Tahliah Barnett, made against Shia LaBeouf mention him sleeping with a gun and threatening to crash a car if she didn’t profess her love for him. The suit also accuses the actor of bragging about killing stray dogs in preparation for a role. Now, the Honey Boy director says she is standing by the victims listed in the lawsuit.

She also spoke on her work with Shia LaBeouf on Honey Boy, a movie that tells LaBeouf’s semi-autobiographical story and history of drug and alcohol abuse as well as PTSD. LaBeouf wrote the project as part of his ongoing recovery and sent the script to Alma Har’el, whom he’d collaborated with on TrueLove. Now, in her recent statement (via Variety), she explained how she came to be involved in the actor’s story.

Alma Har’el also says she will be donating money to FreeFrom, the National Domestic Violence Hotline, and Sistah Space following the claims in the lawsuits. As for Shia LaBeouf, following the lawsuit, the actor has also addressed the claims. Since the suit dropped, he released a statement mentioning that while he feels some of the allegations are untrue, he has also said he is dealing with “alcoholism” and noted “aggression” problems and has said he is “not in any position to tell anyone how my behavior made them feel.”

In the past, Shia LaBeouf has been in trouble with the law multiple times. It was only in earlier this year that he was charged with petty theft.

Lawsuits such as the one FKA Twigs filed are rare, often coming up as part of divorce cases or when someone is trying to file a court order for protection. In the case of FKA Twigs and Shia LaBeouf, the two had been split for a while when the lawsuit was filed. They met on Honey Boy and were reportedly together through part of 2018 and the early part of 2019. By the end of that year, FKA Twigs was mentioning she was single. FKA Twigs has said a portion of any money the lawsuit yields will also be donated.

Professionally speaking, the last several years have been good to actor Shia LaBeouf thanks to movies like Honey Boy, The Peanut Butter Falcon and The Tax Collector. His personal life, on the other hand, now finds itself plagued in a new round of controversy. Last week, LaBeouf’s ex-girlfriend, singer FKA Twigs, filed a lawsuit against him in the Los Angeles Superior Court, alleging that LaBeouf had sexually and emotionally abused her while they were in a relationship. LaBeouf and Goth married in late 2016 and were divorced towards the end of 2018, while Sia and Lang separated in late 2016.

Sia didn’t specify exactly when she and Shia LaBeouf were in a relationship, but evidently it was one based on dishonesty since LaBeouf was already romantically involved with someone else. As such, she’s making sure people know about how he allegedly treated her so they can avoid similar fates. Sia added in a follow-up tweet that she was “very proud” of FKA Twigs for speaking out against LaBeouf, calling her “courageous.”

As far as FKA Twig’s ties to Shia LaBeouf are concerned, the two performers dated following the latter’s separation from Mia Goth, although their time together clearly wasn’t pleasant. Among the things that FKA Twigs has accused LaBeouf of include sexual assault, battery, giving her a sexually transmitted disease and causing her emotional distress, such as fearing for her life when he slept with a gun by their bed. The singer also claims that LaBeouf once bragged about killing stray dogs to prepare for a role.

Shia LaBeouf has since responded to FKA Twigs’ lawsuit, saying that he has been “abusive” to himself and those around him for years, and that he’s “ashamed of that history” and sorry to those he hurt. However, in a separate conversation with The New York Times, LaBeouf said that “many of these allegations are not true.” LaBeouf also stated that he is currently sober and in a 12-step program.

We’ll have to wait and see how FKA Twigs’ lawsuit goes forward from here, as well as if Sia will make any addition statement about him, but LaBeouf has a history of erratic behavior. In 2015, when he was with Mia Goth, he was publicly seen reportedly threatening her while they were in Germany. LaBeouf has also been arrested multiple times over the years for things like disorderly conduct and public intoxication, and back in September, he was charged with misdemeanor battery and petty theft after getting into an altercation with a man in June.
