By this point, Sean “Diddy” Combs’ legal and personal issues are public knowledge, and they’re still being discussed as he remains in prison. Various pundits with ties to the legal profession have weighed in on Combs’ situation, though only a handful of high-profile celebrities have spoken in depth about it. Now, Steve Harvey is sharing his two cents on Diddy and the drama that’s surrounded him in recent years. Also, Harvey has advice for anyone who might want to follow in the rapper’s footsteps.

Diddy (56) came up during a conversation Harvey had on a recent episode of One on One with Kris Fade. The 69-year-old Family Feud host was talking about the importance of young men being gentlemen when he mentioned the artist formerly known as Puffy. Eventually, Harvey began to discuss the 2016 hotel footage of Combs assaulting his then-girlfriend, Cassie Ventura. Harvey denounced the embattled hip hop mogul’s actions and provided thoughts on seeing the video for the first time:

The video was released in the spring of 2024, and it shows Ventura leaving a hotel room and trying to make her way to an elevator, while Combs, who’s wearing a towel around his waist, follows her. Combs then proceeds to throw Ventura to the ground by her neck and kick her while she’s lying on the floor. Ventura’s husband, Alex Fine, posted a message about domestic abuse after the video dropped but did not directly mention the footage. Combs later apologized for his actions, though his apology was criticized as being insincere.

On the topic of the footage, Harvey shared more thoughts about the ramifications of such a video being revealed to the public. The father of seven also weighed in on the cost of “sin”:

Steve Harvey also mentioned Combs’ imprisonment, also saying that “he was getting away with a lot” prior to this legal saga. Up to that point, various rumors and reports swirled around Combs and, in recent years, many have made claims about his reported Freak Off parties and Wild King Nights. Later in his interview, Harvey admitted to knowing Combs but also said he avoided his parties as he’s done with other stars. Also, when addressing anyone who’d seek to emulate the “Bad Boy for Life” rapper, Harvey said this:

Diddy was arrested in late 2024 following a federal investigation and eventually went on trial, beginning in May 2025. Ultimately, he received a mixed verdict, which saw him convicted on two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution but acquitted of racketeering and sex-trafficking. The “Bad Boy for Life” performer was later sentenced to four years (or 50 months) in prison. As of late, Diddy and his legal team have been seeking to appeal his sentence, as his lawyers have argued that the judge’s decision doesn’t hold up.

As for what lies ahead for Sean Combs, sources allege he’s planning a major comeback, but that’s far from confirmed. Before Steve Harvey made his comments, some stars, including Danity Kane’s Aubrey O’Day expressed concerns as to whether Combs would change his ways whenever he’s released.

In both The Housemaid book by Freida McFadden and the movie, which is still doing great at the box office a month into its release, there’s a notable tie to Family Feud. So, it was a stroke of genius marketing for Sydney Sweeney, Amanda Seyfried, Brandon Sklenar and director Paul Feig to turn up on an episode of Celebrity Family Feud recently. But how did they make that happen?

The Housemaid’s key talent competed in a game of Celebrity Family Feud on December 4 against a slew of stars from The Real Housewives. Director Paul Feig told Variety that when they were filming the Family Feud scene on set, this happened:

There are quite a few changes between The Housemaid book and movie, not unlike most book adaptations, but the Family Feud of it all remained the same. One night, Millie (played by Sweeney) can’t sleep at the residence where she’s a live-in housemaid, and she heads downstairs to watch the game show to relax, and the wife of her employer, Andrew (Sklenar), ends up sitting down and watching it with her. It’s a moment of great tension since she’s scantily dressed, and worried about what Nina might think if she’s caught.

It’s not surprising that Sweeney might have the idea, given how many brand deals and such she’s been part of. The actress knows how to market something! The appearance was reportedly a smashing success, too, given it earned 1.5 million video views within the linear window. Lionsgate film group chair Adam Fogelson also said this about The Housemaid cast ending up on Celebrity Family Feud:

While usual Family Feud episodes have the team members winning cash, the celebrity version has each team competing to give to the charity of their choice, which, in The Housemaid’s case, was for Shriners Hospitals for Children. The team ended up winning $50,000 for the nonprofit healthcare system and had fun doing so.

The Housemaid movie has made $135.8 million worldwide as well, and we get why, given how fun it is to see the thriller with an audience. It was reported this week that Lionsgate has already greenlit a sequel after those involved shared they were “ready” to make it happen. I love that The Housemaid did this bit because not only is it a blast to watch, it's for a great cause.

Steve Harvey’s been known to hilariously react whenever faced with wild responses on Family Feud, the talk show he’s hosted since 2010. Given that, it’s hard not to wonder how 68-year-old Harvey reacts when faced with unexpected situations in his personal life. Well, the media personality experienced such a moment after his now-28-year-old daughter, Lori, posed for Playboy. Lori – a social media maven and socialite – recently recalled the funny story of how she broke the news to her parents.

Lori Harvey’s Playboy spread was unveiled this past January, and she appeared in several photos for the magazine. It would be natural to wonder just how Harvey would tell mother Marjorie and father Steve (who adopted her when he married her mom). Well, as Lori explained on The Jennifer Hudson Show (as seen on YouTube), she did tell her folks… just not right away:

The older Harvey was initially taken aback but, once she saw the photos, she even admitted her daughter’s snapshots were “cute.” Still, Lori didn’t want Steve to find out until the issue was released, yet her mother spilled the beans almost immediately, leading Steve to ask:

If that’s not classic Steve Harvey, then I don’t know what is. Honestly, I can hear him asking that very question in the exhausted way Lori described. But, as she went on to explain, once he actually saw the photos, he said, ‘Oh, this is nice.’ It sounds like Steve is a man who appreciates tasteful content, and that’s funny considering some of the wild moments he’s experienced as one of our best game show hosts.

The Family Feud host has had to contend with a few NSFW-adjacent moments on air. For instance, there was the time he was left speechless due to some contestants' responses to a “sexy dreams” question. However, even Harvey himself, during an episode, joked about wearing a dildo, and he mimicked sex moves. So, yeah, the man has quite a wild sense of humor.

Of course, all of that is a far cry from the photoshoot done by Lori Harvey, who’s also posed for Sports Illustrated. Harvey has certainly been making a name for herself in recent years, gracing both magazine covers and red carpets. There is no greater indication that someone is getting old than seeing movies you grew up watching getting remade. Such is my feeling with the brand new version of The Running Man starring Glen Powell that hit theaters on November 14. The original Arnold Schwarzenegger movie is one that I saw countless times on television as a kid. It’s possibly the Schwarzenegger movie I’ve seen more than any other.

I was excited to see the new remake from director Edgar Wright. It’s a much more faithful version of Stephen King’s original dystopian nightmare, but with some of Edgar Wright’s trademark style thrown into the mix. There are a lot of reasons to appreciate a more faithful remake, but there is one part of the first film that was absolutely brilliant that I wish the remake had borrowed.

The Original Running Man Had An Inspired Piece Of Casting

While the first adaptation of The Running Man is drastically different from Stephen King’s story, the most wildly different take is the casting of Arnold Schwarzenegger, a massive human being, to play Ben Richards, much more of an everyman in the book. There is, however, an absolutely brilliant piece of casting in the film that goes a long way to making the movie, Richard Dawson as Damon Killian.

In the novel, as in the new movie, Dan Killian is the producer of The Running Man while the show is hosted by Bobby Thompson (or Bobby T as played by Colman Domingo in the new movie). The original film combines these roles into Damon Killian, both producer and host, who was played by Richard Dawson, who had only recently left as the actual host of Family Feud.

The decision to bring in an actor who was known primarily as a game show host, and to make that host, generally well-loved by audiences, absolutely despicable and the ultimate villain of the movie, was genius. It was an absolutely amazing subversion of expectations. It’s one of the earliest memories I have of seeing an actor work “against type” in a big way, and the new film could have really had some fun if it had gone the same route.

The Running Man Remake Should Have Brought In A Modern Game Show Host

Colman Domingo plays the host of The Running Man in the new film, and, because he’s Colman Domingo, he’s great. It’s a small role without a great deal of depth, but it’s a character who only needs to be charismatic, and Domingo has that in bunches.

That said, I can’t help but think the movie could have had some real fun if it had gone the same route as the original Running Man and cast an actual game show host in the role of Bobby T. Imagine if the movie had gone with Steve Harvey, the current host of Family Feud, but made him a truly terrible person. Personally, I would have loved to see Ryan Seacrest, the host of, I think, everything on TV except Family Feud, play the most awful version of himself that he possibly could.

Overall, the new Running Man is still a solidly good movie without this, and changing the casting of the show’s host wouldn’t have saved the movie from its tragically bad ending. But it could have added something more to the movie and paid a bit of homage to the original beyond a brief Arnold Schwarzenegger cameo. Maybe next time.

When it comes to Miss Universe-related matters, it’s certainly not uncommon for there to be drama. Such conflicts aren’t just relegated to the young ladies who participate in the events either, as there can also be tense situations involving high-profile individuals involved behind the scenes. That’s the case right now, as current Miss Mexico title holder, Fátima Bosch, and businessman Nawat Itsaragrisil are involved in a situation sparked by a heated exchange at a sash ceremony. (At the very least, there’s no Steve Harvey winner faux pas involved.)

How Miss Mexico And A Businessman From Thailand Came Into Conflict

The sash ceremony was held on Monday, November 3, at which time Fátima Bosch spoke with Nawat Itsaragrisil, who also has executive ties with the Miss Universe organization and Miss Universe Thailand. Per Us Weekly, the pair’s disagreement apparently stemmed from Itsaragrisil taking issue with Bosch not posting about host country Thailand on social media, which she said was a miscommunication. What truly ignited the matter was Itsaragrisil telling Bosch, “If you follow your national director’s orders, you’re a dumb head,” (or “fool”).

A viral TikTok video, as noted by Us Weekly, showed Itsaragrisil and Bosch going back and forth. The pageant winner said, “We respect you, just as you should respect us. I’m here representing my country, and it’s not my fault you have problems with my organization.” Itsaragrisil was apparently upset by that, saying “No, you must listen to me first, then argue with me.” Bosch soon left with, current Miss Universe, Victoria Kjær, following her out to show solidarity, and others were apparently upset by the exec’s comments as well.

Fátima Bosch has since addressed the media about the situation and was accompanied by Miss Universe Iraq, Hanin Al Qoreishy, at the time. When speaking, Bosch said it was “unfair” that Nawat Itsaragrisil thought she was “dumb because he has issues with the organization.” She also added the following thoughts on the matter:

Bosch has since received significant support from fans on social media as well as some of her peers, including Victoria Kjær, who said the situation was about “women’s rights.” The Miss Universe Organization released a statement too, emphasizing its intention to hold onto the values of “diversity, empowerment, and inclusion” while preparing for its 74th pageant. Needless to say, this all goes a lot deeper than the Steve Harvey-related blunders of the past.

Steve Harvey Has A Key Connection To Miss Universe History

While some may know Harvey best for the hilariously shocked and speechless expressions he dishes out as the host of Family Feud, he’s also hosted the Miss Universe pageant multiple times. The former stand-up comedian hosted the 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019 and 2021 editions of the event. Most notably, in 2015, Harvey mistakenly named Miss Colombia – the first runner-up – the winner after having mistaken the first runner-up envelope for the one containing the name of the winner, who in actuality, was Miss Philippines.

Steve Harvey expressed dismay over the mixup and eventually issued an apology. When Harvey returned to host the following year, the decision was met with opposition from Philippines president Rodrigo Duterte, who said “he cannot host.” Harvey would eventually go viral again during the 2019 show after incorrectly naming Miss Philippines as the winner of the National Costume portion of the show when it was actually Miss Malaysia.

The Miss Universe Organization eventually moved past the Harvey-related drama, but the public will still have to wait and see how it continues to navigate the situation involving Fátima Bosch and Nawat Itsaragrisil. For now, know that the 74th edition of the pageant is set to air live on Thursday, Nov. 20, at 8 p.m. ET amid the 2025 TV schedule. The event will be streamable on the MUO’s YouTube channel and air on Telemundo, with that broadcast being available for streaming with a Peacock subscription as well.

Steve Harvey was noticeably everywhere back in 2022 when his daughter Lori Harvey was dating superstar Michael B. Jordan. He doesn’t straight up mention Michael B. The video of them hugging and seemingly being happy to see each other went viral, and can still be seen on Tiktok and other places today.

While he's not expressly saying this was the moment he and Lori had to sit down and talk ground rules, this moment absolutely did capture the public's attention. Now, if he runs into one of Lori Harvey’s exes, there’s a new “rule” in the house.

I don’t know what Steve Harvey is expected to do now that reports indicate Harvey is dating Damson Idris, whom she also dated back in 2023. However, one contestant's answer of "A new house" reflects how the characters in many classic Black horror movies tend to react to dangerous supernatural phenomena: get out.

"It's Hard For Me To See The Tie-In Between The Bunny And Christmas"

A contestant believes that the Easter Bunny would be a good candidate to help fill in for Santa to deliver presents on Christmas Eve because he would know the same route. However, Steve casts doubt on the idea since he works at a different time of the year. Lo and behold, the answer is on the board.

"You Ask Me, I Got A List"

One episode of Family Feud asks the contestants to name someone they are glad they only have to see about once a year. While not dropping any names, Steve Harvey does not hold back from revealing that he has several people in mind.

"What Is The Number One Job Requirement When You Apply To Work At The DMV? You Must Hate Mankind"

In between rounds of Family Feud, Steve Harvey likes to get to know some of his contestants better, such as in one episode when a woman tells him that she has "the hardest job" working as a supervisor at the Department of Motor Vehicles. It is not unusual for a Family Feud contestant to misspeak when responding to a prompt, whether they do not understand the question or their answer comes out as pure gibberish. The latter inspired this Steve Harvey jab at the expense of a visibly nervous contestant.

Steve Harvey asks a contestant named Michael who he would expect to see in the welcoming committee if he died and, instead of going to Heaven, went south. He immediately regrets it when he answers, "My children," which prompts the host to remind him that his children are on the Family Feud set standing beside him. "My Kids" ends up being an answer, however, leading to a round of high-fives between Michael and his family that Harvey cannot help but point out as ironic.

Steve Harvey is initially reluctant to let a female contestant rub the back of his hairless head for good luck. However, he ends up enjoying the experience, warning that his wife will likely not appreciate the display.

There have been times when Steve Harvey has misheard a Family Feud contestant, resulting in embarrassment on his end. However, it is usually more entertaining when a contestant mishears a prompt, such as when Harvey asked to name a suit that is not appropriate for work, and one gentleman, apparently, misheard "suit" as "soup." His answer was "Chicken noodle."

"You Don't Spend Any Money? Girl, Call Me"

In one episode of Family Feud, an older female contestant revealed to Steve Harvey that, if her husband passed and the host happens to be divorced, she would give him her number. Harvey, at first, appears uncomfortable with the proposal until she mentions that she is not one to spend very much dough.

"His Butt Is In A Crockpot Simmering... 'Cause It's Gonna Simmer 'Till They Get Home"

Many of the most memorable Family Feud moments tend to involve a male contestant giving an answer that puts him in hot water with his spouse. For instance, one gentleman answers the prompt, "Name something you can't wait to get out of at the end of your day," with the answer, "Marriage," which not only elicits a shocked look from his wife, but inspires a long rant from Steve Harvey about how his words have him cooked.

"Ya'll Know How I Feel About Peach Cobbler"

In most cases, Steve Harvey assumes the responsibility as host to keep things family-friendly on Family Feud, but there are also those moments when he cannot help but feed into the innuendo. For instance, when the dessert item peach cobbler appears on the survey board as a euphemism for a part of the female anatomy, he expresses his taste for it.

"David, Did You Let The Two Women Down There Influence Your Answer?"

A fill-in-the-blank Family Feud prompt asks what someone would do in exchange for nookie, and one male contestant's answer, despite claiming it is not a reflection of his own personality, is "cry." Steve Harvey correctly suspects that the female contestants in his group motivated the answer, to which the host assures that it was a mistake because this particular question was clearly crafted with a straight male perspective in mind.

"If That Hadn't Been The Black Dude Saying That, That Would Have Been Racist"

In an episode of Celebrity Family Feud that pits stars of Bachelor in Paradise against each other, the contestants are asked to answer the prompt, "The size and shape of Steve Harvey's head is like a perfect what?" The host expresses his relief that Eric Bigger (who showed support for Chris Harrison after he was fired from the hit reality dating show) was the one to suggest, "Watermelon."

"I Ain't Never 'Boop Boop Dibbity Dibbitied' In My Life, But I Sure Want To Try It, Though"

In response to the prompt, "What part of a dog's daily routine is part of a man's daily routine?" a female contestant answers, "Before the dog gets fixed, it's the 'boop boop dibbity dibbity.'" The meaning behind this wild phrase is never actually revealed, but it does pique Steve Harvey's interest.

"If That Was True, You Know How Crowded Church Would Be?"

Steve Harvey asks to "Name something a wife might let her husband do on Sunday afternoon if he attends church with her Sunday morning," and one male contestant replies, "Smash." The host then suggests that this reversal of the plot of Aristophanes' play, Lysistrata, would likely make religious services more popular than ever.

"Let's Just Say, 'Someone Is Saluting The Troops'"

In his efforts to keep Family Feud somewhat safe for family viewing, Steve Harvey struggles to come up with a euphemism for a man getting excited on a hot date. It ends up appearing on the board, but instead of the host's patriotic suggestion, it is written as "A Pitched Tent."

"Stop Nodding Your Head. Stay Still. Because You Got To Go Back Over There Right After This"

Steve Harvey has said that his favorite Family Feud contestants are typically arrogant men who end up embarrassing themselves with foolish answers. One prime example is a contestant who answers the prompt, "Name something you'll let your husband get away with doing but just once," with "Cheating," before he begins nodding his head in confidence. Shaking his confidence is both Steve Harvey with this quip bit and his wife, boasting a disapproving look from right behind him.

"Your Mother-In-Law Gonna Kill You? Your Wife..."

One Family Feud prompt asks what a man's mother-in-law should have to make him like her better, and a male contestant suggests she should be gifted in the chest area. After expressing regret over how his own mother-in-law might react, Steve Harvey reminds him that it's his wife's reaction that he should be worried about.

"I Don't Wanna Prejudge Nobody, But They Already Gained Four Answers And They're In The Top Four"

One funny Family Feud prompt revolves around things that might happen to Grandpa after Grandma puts "the Devil's Lettuce" in his pot pie. One family manages to name all the best answers without a hitch, leading Steve Harvey to jokingly assume they have some experience with it.

Family Feud has been around since 1976, with Steve Harvey hosting since 2010 and its celebrity counterpart since 2015. Throughout the game show’s run, there have been some iconic moments and even more iconic answers, whether they were completely wrong or a pretty NSFW PG-rated answer. One of the best parts about the show is seeing Harvey’s reaction to some of the answers, including one that he misheard from Giuliana Rancic’s mother, and he absolutely lost it.

The former E! News host and her family appeared on Celebrity Family Feud in 2016, going up against The Band Perry during Season 3. Even though almost nine years have passed since the episode aired, that isn’t stopping the Family Feud Instagram from bringing up a particularly great moment from the episode. After Rancic’s mother gave her answer for one of the survey questions, “A woman might say, ‘I broke up with my boyfriend after I found out he had’” blank, she said, “Spent a lot of money.”

The answer, which was a good one, was not one that Harvey had heard. Harvey thought she said, “Cause he ate spaghetti on a Monday,” and it might be perhaps one of the best misunderstood answers on Family Feud, if not the best misunderstood answer. When Rancic corrected him after everyone in the studio couldn’t stop laughing, he also couldn’t stop laughing. Check it out below:

Even though Rancic’s mom ultimately didn’t have one of the top answers for her actual answer, Harvey mishearing it at first does certainly make it all the more better. It’s the fact that Harvey didn’t even think twice about the spaghetti answer that takes the cake, probably because he’s heard crazy answer after crazy answer. It just shows that you never know what could happen on Family Feud, and it still remains as entertaining as ever as one of the best game shows of all time.

Regardless of what answers he hears or mishears, Steve Harvey remains one of the best game show hosts. There doesn’t seem to be any end in sight for either Family Feud or Celebrity Family Feud, and there is no indication that Harvey has plans to step away in the near future. Fans will be able to look forward to much more entertaining moments, and likely more misunderstandings in future episodes, and that’s what makes the show fun.

As for Celebrity Family Feud, there is no word on when the series will return. The most recent episode aired in December, but it should hopefully return later on the 2025 TV schedule. Fans will just have to wait and see. Maybe Giuliana Rancic and her mom can return so Harvey can redeem himself, or maybe there could be a moment more iconic than the spaghetti answer.

I’m sure you’ve noticed by now, but just to be clear, Steve Harvey is famous. The ever-popular Family Feud host/comedian/author/etc. has been known and beloved for everything from his colorful fashion sense to his humorous takes on love and life, and his reactions when shocked and speechless to (of course) his signature mustache. So, when word got around a couple of days ago that the celebrity Ohio native had died, many were saddened. Luckily, that news wasn’t actually true and we know the wild story behind the death hoax and how A.I. sparked it.

How Did A.I. Lead To The Steve Harvey Death Hoax?

Unfortunately, it seems that one of the things that come with being famous is having people speculate and/or prematurely report about the death of said celeb, and this has recently happened to one of the best game show hosts, Steve Harvey (who, yes, is still alive). It was late on December 17 when a report headlined “Steve Harvey Passed Away Today: Remembering The Legacy Of A Comedy Legend” appeared on Trend Cast News (via The Wrap) and was then picked up by news aggregator Newsbreak.

As you can imagine, the bogus report spread quickly, with the former Miss Universe pageant host’s name trending on Google and fans taking to X to share thoughts. But, it seems that lots of people caught on almost as fast to the truth that Harvey was actually still with us:

• “Gmorn'n did anyone else wake up to Steve Harvey passed away news and it was a Spam or virus link”
• “Chill out Steve Harvey did not die… Why they doin him like that?”
• “They got me fucked up thinking Steve Harvey died today”

It turns out that the post was created by Artificial Intelligence, and, according to Reuters, Newsbreak has been caught posting completely false information and making erroneous (and potentially illegal) changes to the stories it takes from other sites, and done so at least 40 other times since 2021.

We’ve seen many times over the past several years just how easy it is for fake news to pick up steam and end up being reported as fact. While, sure, the occasional A.I.-generated image of Harvey running from monsters in the woods and fronting a hardcore rock band can be hilarious, when the technology is used in actual attempts to convince us that things like Disney World being flooded by Hurricane Milton happened or to fake the likeness of actors and others in a realistic way, it becomes dangerous very fast.

For Steve Harvey’s part, he’s spent most of this week on his social media as usual, and while he hasn’t made any official comment about the false report of his death, it may be because there have been several other false reports about Harvey dying in the past year or so, and he’s just already over it.

At this point, most Family Feud fans would probably agree that knocking Steve Harvey out of his comfort zone and making him laugh are rites of passage for game show contestants. It’s a big part of why the long-running series is among the best game shows of all time, and why Harvey remains so beloved as a top-tier host. But even an esteemed professional like Harvey can be driven speechless by unpredictable answers, and recently handled a Dwayne Johnson-sized doozy.

In an episode pitting the Brown family against the Williams clan, second-in-line hopefuls Kristen and Olga faced off at the podium with Harvey, who doesn’t look at all as if he’s ready to question everything about his own existence in the next 90 seconds. And the eventual confusion is even more amusing considering Kristen’s answer sparked a most ideal reaction, where the host is genuinely amused by a guess without being judgmental about it. As it went:

• STEVE: Name something Steve Harvey and The Rock have in common.
• KRISTEN: You're Black.
• STEVE: [Laughs along with studio audience.] I like when she said it, she turned to her family. "Is that okay?" And they're sitting over there going - [silently mouths the word "No"].

And hey, for as amusing as the possibly basic guess was, it was absolutely on the board in the #3 spot with 12 people. But then along came Olga...

Surely, there are times in Family Feud where it's a great idea to offer an answer that's the exact opposite of whatever was said just before. But when specifically referring to two extremely popular celebrities' shared race, it's probably always best to just sidestep the polar opposite route and go with something a bit more obvious and legitimately applicable. But instead of taking that wise route, Olga said:

Understandably, everything stopped making sense for a split-second, and Steve Harvey had to collect himself by making sure his face was still there, and that it hadn't suddenly changed into that of a white man. Perhaps if the question for that round was about what the host shared in common with the 1996 Michael Bay thriller The Rock, with Sean Connery and Nicholas Cage.

I mean, the answer would still be dumb and wrong, but at least 66% of the people involved in the question would be white, and Olga might not seem to ridiculous for putting those words out into the universe. But no, that's....not what this was.

If only Steve Harvey had walked out with a version of The Rock's absurd People's Championship belt, or if he'd whipped a pair of sunglasses off at the podium to reveal a giant raised eyebrow, then maybe the Williams family would have had a better first answer. Instead, we're left wondering whether Olga sees Oreo cookies the same way everyone else does.

Family Feud is undoubtedly among the best game shows of all time, but in its current era, I’m tuning in to see Steve Harvey and his hilarious interactions with the contestants as much as I am for the game itself. The most recent episode of Celebrity Family Feud pitted Robin Thicke against Anthony Anderson to win money for charity, and Harvey was certainly set up for an ego boost when one question asked about TV hosts people had romantic fantasies about. His reaction was, of course, A+, but we have got to talk about some of the other answers.

It does seem like a no-brainer that when Steve Harvey asked: “Admit it — What TV host, past or present, have you had romantic fantasies about?,” someone would name the Family Feud host, and Team Robin member Ava did not disappoint. Neither did Harvey’s immediate response to the answer, as they had this exchange:

• Steve Harvey: Watch yourself right there. Watch yourself. How old are you, Ava?
• Ava: I’m sorry! 24.
• Steve Harvey: Oh God no. Please don’t be up there.
  

However, Steve Harvey was actually the No. 1 answer, and I’ve got to say — in my humble opinion — he didn’t have much competition. Robin Thicke’s friends and family went on to strike out immediately with guesses of Pat Sajak, Alan Thicke and Nick Cannon.

Robin Thicke naming his colleague from The Masked Singer I get, because with the number of Cannon children running around, there are apparently a lot of people having romantic fantasies about him. I even love how they honored Robin’s father, Alan Thicke, who passed away in 2016. Pat Sajak? Sure, he’s not a bad-looking fellow by any means, but I’ve personally never gotten all hot and bothered when he suggests players “give the wheel a spin.”

Anthony Anderson’s team was able to bring home the steal by guessing the No. 2 answer — Jimmy Fallon. Really? Is Jimmy Fallon the best we can do there? I love Fever Pitch probably more than most, but I never considered the talk show host to be on the level of romantic fantasy. No shade, though, to each his own. The rest of the list included some of the best game show hosts of days gone by — Alex Trebek (that sexy, mustachioed silver fox), Bob Barker and Regis Philbin. You can check out the full clip below:

I'm going to have to assume the 100 people surveyed were just trying to think of any male TV host they could think of, rather than tapping into their actual fantasies.

That wasn’t the first time a Family Feud question set Steve Harvey up to be flattered. In a 2023 celebrity episode, he asked the contestants which female celebrities they’d set him up with if he weren’t married. Let’s just say his reactions to the Beyoncé and Oprah responses are worth checking out for yourself.

When it comes to fantasizing about TV hosts, maybe I was wrong for thinking more Ryan Seacrest than Donny Osmond, but hey, it bought us another classic Steve Harvey reaction, and that’s at least part of the reason we’re all here, right? Top game show host Steve Harvey has seen quite a few contestants make their way onto Family Feud. And, of course, some of those competitors have been celebrities that the general public is surely familiar with by way of Celebrity Family Feud. One installment of the sister show that probably stands out in a lot of viewers minds is the episode involving the Kardashian/Jenner family. Now, several years later, Harvey himself is recalling what it was like having the famous brood on the program.

The veteran entertainer opened up about what it was like to have the Kardashians compete on an episode of Celebrity Family Feud while speaking with Entertainment Tonight. While marking the 10th anniversary of the star-studded game show offshoot, Harvey shared some kind words about the Kardashian/Jenner clan:

During their 2018 episode, the Kardashian family faced off against the West Family. Khloé Kardashian, Kendall Jenner, Kris Jenner, grandma Mary Jo Campbell, friend Jonathan Cheban, and cousin Cici Bussey represented the Kardashians. And Kim Kardashian, Kanye West and three of West's cousins -- Kim Wallace, Jalil Peraza, Ricky Anderson -- repped team West.

In the end, team West claimed victory after Kim and Kanye competed in the Fast Money portion of the game and racked up over 200 points. However, they weren't the winners of the game, as Team Kardashian actually had the most points. Kendall Jenner and Khloé decided to let Kim and Kanye compete in the end, as they were the ones who wanted to be on the show the most. Their prize was $25,000, which went to Kanye's chosen cause, Children's Hospital Los Angeles. The Kardashian side played for them as well.

In addition to speaking about the Kardashians stars, Steve Harvey also gave some insight into why he thinks Celebrity Family Feud is one of the best game shows on TV:

I think the host is correct in his assessment. I personally know that I've always loved the celebrity versions of shows, such as Celebrity Jeopardy and Celebrity Wheel of Fortune. These types of programs put celebrities in environments that the general public would never be privy to seeing otherwise. We get to see their competitive sides as well as their senses of humor. I also think since the prize money goes to charity, the contestants let loose a bit because everyone wins in the end.  

Per the interview, the upcoming season of Celebrity Family Feud will include games with Megan Thee Stallion, Tori Kelly, Meghan Trainor and the ladies of The Golden Bachelor. Past famous participants have been the families of John Legend, Rob Lowe, and Rosie O'Donnell to name a few. I'm eager to see how each of the incoming stars ends up faring, but I'm not entirely sure if their episodes will be able to top the Kardashians' humorously competitive episode.

I’ve been watching Family Feud, the game show where two families compete to see who knows the top answers to various questions, for years, and I’d be lying if I didn’t say it was mostly because of its host, comedian Steve Harvey. Harvey has hosted the top game show since 2010 and has become known for his signature suits, mustache, exaggerated facial expressions, and witty comebacks to the contestants' often outrageous answers. All of these qualities combine to make him one of the best game show hosts, but recently Harvey admitted he has a favorite type of contestant he likes to see compete on the show?

Harvey made the revelation about his favorite contestant in an interview with Today. I wasn't sure what he was going to say about contestants on the show, but his answer made total sense. 

As a viewer of the show, I concur with Harvey that these contestants are the best to watch. It’s endlessly entertaining to see someone so confident in their answer only to be shot down by the red “X” accompanied by a loud buzzer, and Harvey has a theory as to where this confidence goes.   

In addition to talking about the contestants, Harvey also chatted about why he thinks people keep tuning in to the show week after week-- and it's not just because he changed up his Family Feud style.

He goes on to say that the humor in the show is centered around the contestants’ bizarre answers that are inevitably never on the board. The humor comes afterward when Harvey gets to question them as to why they said what they said.

Many a former Family Feud contestant can attest to all-time great game show host Steve Harvey having little issue calling anyone out for particularly off-base or just plain stupid guesses, and is equally non-hesitant to throw his support behind logically conceived answers. So somebody usually needs to offer quite the bonkers idea to leave him plainly speechless, and it almost never happens with two consecutive answers. And yet that’s exactly what went down during a recent episode’s Face-Off question that involved “sexy dreams.”

As seen in the video below, it was the first Face-Off from the very first round when things immediately dipped into ridiculousness, albeit due to the overtly adult nature of the question, which is a go-to for inspiring hilarious Steve Harvey reactions. Only here, the heads of both the McCullough and Kleid families managed to shock the host into silence, and for totally different reasons. Check it out!

While I personally find it a little cheap and annoying when modern Family Feud hinges so heavily on lewdness for its questions — particularly regarding the unnecessarily filthy alt-answers that show up on the survey board — that Face-Off round is kind of a solid example of why this is one of the best game shows ever, since this isn’t the kind of moment one could ever find on Jeopardy or The Price Is Right.

I mean, it would 100% be a highlight if Drew Carey asked a Price Is Right contestant about their sex dreams, don’t get me wrong. But it’s a sliding scale.

For those who weren’t able to watch, here’s the survey prompt Harvey presented to the contestants: “You know you shouldn’t, but name someone you have sexy dreams about.”

Jarrell McCullough buzzed in so quickly that it seemed he’d have nothing less than a Top 3 answer coming out of his mouth. And yet…here’s what he actually said:

Hilariously enough, Steve Harvey had nothing to offer Jarrell but a slack-jawed stare after hearing that bonkers answer. And to the surprise of perhaps no one in the Family Feud studio that day, "His aunt" was not one of the top 8 answers on the board.

While his effort to explain his answer was admirable, the actual justification makes it seem like he was far more intent on the "shouldn't" part, and not enough on the idea that the dreams happen anyway. But all things considered, I actually was surprised at the end of the round to see that none of the answers involved anything so taboo in a familial context, with "In-Law" covering that base. Which is either worthy of applause, or worthy of suspicion.

Steve Harvey then turned to Jenny Kleid to get her answer, and probably expected something a bit more straightforward from her, only to get a wildly flirtatious response. Despite her first attempt to say it being rudely interrupted by the buzzer, Jenny said it again and sparked a different kind of shocked silence out of Harvey. Her answer for who she has sexy dreams about even though she shouldn’t?

Okay so he wasn’t completely silent, and muttered out a “Huh? What?” to make sure he heard correctly, even though I’m 99.99% certain Harvey heard everything juuuust fine. I also couldn’t help but chuckle at the meek way he said, “Me?” to see where it landed.

Amazingly enough, Jenny landed the #1 answer on the board under the umbrella term of “Celebrity,” even though Jason Momoa was the star used as a hunky example. Not quite on the same level, those two. But let's not forget the time WWE superstars posited that Harvey would be a good match for Beyoncé and Oprah Winfrey.

Harvey’s jaw remained lowered after the contestant volunteered her fellow Kleid family members to keep playing, and she amusingly apologized for sidelining him in such a way. Don’t be sorry, Jenny! Anytime Steve Harvey mentally blushes is good TV in my book.

Family Feud airs weekdays in syndication, so check your local listings to confirm when it’s playing in your area, and keep your eyes and ears peeled for Celebrity Family Feud, which will begin airing on ABC along with a retrospective special on Tuesday, July 9, and will be available to stream the next day with a Hulu subscription.

A pastor and older man bringing up “something sexual” and wiping one’s butt on national television – yep, that will for sure make for another eventful evening at Family Feud! One of the reasons why the game show has been a mainstay on television for almost 50 years is certainly for all the quirky moments in between where the contestants say the darndest things. That was proven once again in a recent episode that airred on the 2024 TV schedule, because it was hilarious to watch Steve Harvey lose it over a couple answers to one particular question. 

The question was this: “Things you’ve stuck your finger in more times than you can count.” Yes, it does seem like the kind of question the writers added to the pile to suss out those with their head in the gutter. Check out what happened in the YouTube clip below: 

The moment happened during this past Thursday’s episode, before being shared to Family Feud’s socials. When the two families of the evening went head-to-head on the question, the Maye family clicked the buzzer quicker with one member answering “pie” to “things you’ve stuck your finger in more times than you can count.” They got the No. 1 most answered question, which was food in general leading Harvey to go to the rest of the Maye side of the stage. 

One member then answered “my mouth” before Harvey went to Pastor Wallace to continue completing the board. Wallace answered with a muttered “something sexual,” which was incorrect. The funny moment was followed by the elder Maye answering “wiping your butt," which was also incorrect. For a question that could have gone down filthier roads, it’s funny to see a pastor and older man dance around the promiscuity of it in such a PG fashion to get their points.

This is far from the first time sexual innuendos have made it into Family Feud in a funny way such as this. Harvey memorably deals with flirty contestants on occasion, and he finds the fun in the ways questions such as this can get upstanding citizens like this pastor thinking about “something sexual.” Remember that one time when a player answered “Kelly Clarkston” when asked to describe something “hot-hot-hot”? 

Steve Harvey continues to be an endlessly entertaining host on Family Feud. Check out where he ranks in our best game show hosts list. Many all-ages activity books worth their salt will feature chain reaction puzzles, in which the challenge is parsing through clues to get from one word to another completely unrelated word. That concept has been brought to life quite a few times over the years, with five different iterations of Chain Reaction airing across NBC (1980), USA (1986-1991), and Game Show Network (2006-07, 2015-16, 2021-22) for a total of 12 seasons and around 1,400 episodes combined.

• Standout Element: Every version of Chain Reaction is an equally fun option for an entire family or group of friends to yell answers at.

The show that ushered the phrase “making whoopee” into the TV lexicon, The Newlywed Game was co-created by Howdy Doody creator E. Roger Muir, with the legendary Chuck Barris as producer, back in 1966. It’s a more enjoyable romance-driven series than The Dating Game, which debuted the previous year, with a lot of the fun coming from watching couples who so very clearly are not meant to be together. Such marital chaos is so interesting to TV viewers that there have been six different versions of The Newlywed Game, from ABC’s runs (1966-74, 1984) to the syndicated versions (1977-80, 1985-89, 1996-99) to GSN’s sole revival (2009-2013), at least so far.

• Standout Element: The couples are usually a joy to watch, but recurring host Bob Eubanks had the magnetism to keep audiences tuned in, to the point where he held hosting duties across five different versions of the show.

28. Win, Lose Or Draw

Hosts: Vicki Lawrence, Bert Convy, Robb Weller, Marc Price, Justin Willman

Essentially the TV version of the home game Pictionary — and existing long before that game’s 2022 series — Win, Lose or Draw is one of few shows where contestants’ artistic abilities are most important, although only as important as well others can guess. Several versions of the series existed in a short window, with NBC’s daytime take (1987-89) airing at the same time as the syndicated version (1987-90), which predated Disney Channel’s Teen Win, Lose or Draw (1989-92) and another youth-oriented version (2014) that dropped the “Teen” from the title. Did I mention Win, Lose or Draw was co-created by Burt Reynolds?

• Standout Element: The best artists = the worst artists, in my book, and I also always loved when there was still enough time at the end of an episode for someone in the audience to try their own hand at earning extra money.

27. @midnight

One of two Comedy Central game shows to last beyond two seasons, the joke-laden @midnight debuted in 2013 laser-focus on Internet culture, from dank memes to Yahoo Answers to The Iron Sheik’s tweets. Like Whose Line Is It Anyway?, the actual competition quickly becomes irrelevant, and the point was for each episodes’ three comedian contestants to make the host and audience laugh as much as possible with a barrage of ridiculous headlines, hashtags and more. With over 600 episodes produced, and CBS’ revamped After Midnight keeping things alive, it’s a smorgasbord of comedy greats.

• Standout Element: Episodes with cast and crew from the same TV show competing against each other, from Archer to The Walking Dead to Rick and Morty.

26. Hollywood Squares

Hosts: Peter Marshall, Jon Bauman, John Davidson, Tom Bergeron

In case anyone had any reservations about whether Hollywood Squares slots more as a heady quiz show or a comedic game show, one only needs to know two things: it employs true/false questions, and Paul Lynde was a big part of it for a while. The tic-tac-toe series has seen various incarnations throughout the years, starting with its NBC run (1966-80) and into its various syndicated spans (1971-81, 1986-89, 1998-2004), as well as a few spinoffs such as Hip Hop Squares and Nashville Squares. The show’s biggest strength is indeed the lineup of nutty comedians and celebs brought in across the 5,000+ episodes, from “Weird” Al Yankovic to Vincent Price to Joan Rivers to Whoopi Goldberg to Martin Mull and many more.

• Standout Element: Arguably the most exciting Bonus Round of any version of Hollywood Squares is when the contestant chooses a car key to use on one of the on-stage vehicles, with the hopes that the key turns the vehicle on. There’s nothing like the moment when it’s successful.

25. Idiotest

Host: Ben Glieb

As much as I’d already love a reboot, Idiotest only boasts the lone four-season stretch on Game Show Network (2014-2017) with comedian Ben Gleib as its splendidly smarmy host. Rather than focusing on either general knowledge or esoteric trivia, Idiotest instead has its contestants utilizing (or not) their critical thinking skills for all manner of brain teasers and word puzzles. It’s a show where, as the name implies, people can often walk away feeling pretty dumb, and Gleib is excellent at poking plenty of good-natured fun without going too far.

• Standout Element: The puzzles are so well-crafted from season to season, with the writers putting a lot of effort into keeping things fresh, so that every single episode is automatically worth watching.

24. Remote Control

Hosts: Ken Ober, Colin Quinn

MTV’s first piece of original programming that wasn’t musically focused, Remote Control remains a singular snapshot of the era in which it aired (1987-1990), with the majority of its focus hooked to popular music videos and artists at the time, as well as other slices of pop culture. The crown jewel of Remote Control, however, was the stellar set design that resembled a messy basement, complete with La-Z-Boy recliners for the contestants that flipped backwards into the rear wall whenever someone was eliminated. With lots of celebrities appearing as both guests and contestants, the series spawned a few big names of its own, including host Ken Ober’s sidekick announcer Colin Quinn, with other segments featuring Adam Sandler and Denis Leary.

• Standout Element: The TV game board rocked, but it’s hard to deny the endless pleasure of seeing an unlucky loser being physically removed from the set to the audience singing “Na Na Hey Hey Kiss Him Goodbye.”

23. Lingo

Hosts: Michael Reagan, Ralph Andrews, Chuck Woolery, Bill Engvall, RuPaul Charles

A fun and quizzical mix of bingo chance and mystery words, Lingo arrived on the scene in 1987 for a one-season syndicated run, but the game show truly became a household staple during its first Game Show Network run (2002-07), with Chuck Woolery heading things up. The latter two versions —- GSN (2011) and CBS’ primetime version in 2023 — aren’t quite on the same level, as fine as they are, and it seems pretty clear that Lingo played a big part in everyone getting obsessed with Wordle for a while.

• Standout Element: It’s definitely the Wordle challenge of figuring out short words with limited chances, but there’s also a strange pleasure in watching contestants hold up their balls all wrong.

22. Win Ben Stein's Money

Hosts: Ben Stein, Jimmy Kimmel, Nancy Pimental, Sal Iacono

This Daytime Emmy-winner from Comedy Central is a solid trivia game show in and of itself, with oodles of wordplay on display. But a lot of the show’s fun comes from Ferris Bueller vet Ben Stein flipping from host to competitor midway through each episode, as he tries to thwart the remaining two contestants from winning the money in his “bank.” Stein’s dry comedy complemented well against Man Show vets Kimmel and Iacono. Fairly low stakes for a major game show — $5,000 grand prizes, with latter-day Ben Stein’s Cup episodes inviting past winners to vie for a $25,000 prize — but that’s possibly how it stayed on the air for 6 seasons and more than 700 episodes from 1997-2003.

• Standout Element: As a winking jab at Jeopardy!, the show would “punish” players who accidentally answered in the form of a question by making them wear a dunce cap until the current round ended. Gotta love a gimmick.

21. Concentration / Classic Concentration

Hosts: Hugh Downs, Jack Barry, Bob Clayton, Ed McMahon, Jack Narz, Alex Trebek

First produced in 1958 by NBC, Concentration took its inspiration from the children’s memory game, with contestants matching numbers across a board with a rebus puzzle hiding behind it. Its initial run lasted 14 years, with nearly 3,800 episodes filmed, and immediately gave way to the syndicated version (1973-1978), with the Alex Trebek-hosted iteration airing on NBC from 1987-1991. While memory games may not be the most challenging, the various prizes and ability to steal an opponent’s winnings changed things up enough.

• Standout Element: Figuring out a rebus puzzle before all of the numbers were gone yet is a good way to feel like a mild genius for part of an afternoon.

20. America Says

Host: John Michael Higgins

A quasi-fusion of Family Feud and Match Game mechanics, Game Show Network’s America Says is similarly as enjoyable and easy to get into as both of the aforementioned classics. The simple concept involves players attempting to guess the top 7 answers to a variety of survey questions, with the first letter revealed for each word, as well as its estimated length based on blank-space size. Longtime comedy vet John Michael Higgins (Best in Show, Pitch Perfect) is an easy-breezy peach of a frontman, with plenty of quips and self-deprecating roasts to keep things amusing during its five seasons (2018-2022).

• Standout Element: The consistent balance between somewhat easy answers and less obvious ones, both within the main game and during the Bonus Round.

19. Supermarket Sweep

Hosts: Bill Malone, David Ruprecht, Leslie Jones

Grocery shopping may not always sound like a grand idea, but if it was anything like Supermarket Sweep, we’d likely never stop. The consumer-focused game show first aired on ABC from 1965-1967, but many fans are no doubt most familiar with the Lifetime (1990-95) and PAX TV (2000-03) versions, for which more than 1,100 episodes were produced. ABC’s reboot (2020-21) hosted by Leslie Jones didn’t quite hit the same highs, but definitely still made me want to start running up and down grocery aisles looking for marked items for higher prize money.

• Standout Element: Game-planning one’s own Super Sweep round and comparing it to what the contestants actually do, while wondering why so many people seemed to only add giant high-price items instead of smaller goods.

18. Weakest Link

Hosts: Anne Robinson, George Gray, Jane Lynch

Based on the UK series, the American take on Weakest Link hit a few years after Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?, and brought a similar high-stakes approach to the quiz format, only with contestants needing to work together for bigger winnings. For those who enjoy quiz-play over dramatics, the syndicated era (2002-03) is probably more ideal than NBC’s surprisingly short-lived first interaction (2001-02) or its most current version (2020-present). As well, this show features one of the most hardcore catchprases in all of game show TV: “You are the weakest link. Goodbye.”

• Standout Element: Whenever a group of contestants was actually smart enough to know how to properly bank the biggest totals, and also managed to get the right answers.

17. You Bet Your Life

Hosts: Groucho Marx, Buddy Hackett, Bill Cosby, Jay Leno

Kicking off its 75+-year lifespan as a radio series, You Bet Your Life’s transition to TV was a huge success in large part due to its initial host Groucho Marx entering his post-Marx Brothers solo era. In fact, much of the show’s legacy is tied to its lengthy NBC run (1950-1961) with Marx cracking audiences and contestants up left and right with both his witty banter and his trademark facial stylings, with the quiz questions taking a backseat. The syndicated versions of You Bet Your Life (1980-81, 1992-93, 2021-23) similarly opted for past-their-prime comedians as hosts, though with lesser results.

• Standout Element: Groucho Marx’s no-brainer questions were fun and empathetic, but nothing beats seeing the comedy legend chatting it up with other icons such as genre writers Ray Bradbury and William Peter Blatty, boxers Joe Louis and Rocky Marciano, actors Ernie Kovacs and Jayne Mansfield, and more.

16. To Tell The Truth

Hosts: Bud Collyer, Garry Moore, Joe Garagiola, Robin Ward, Gordon Elliott, Lynn Swann, Alex Trebek, John O'Hurley, Anthony Anderson

To date, more than 4,000 episodes of To Tell the Truth have been produced since the franchise debuted on CBS (1956-68), and at least one version of the series has aired in every decade since. Which goes to show just how popular this game show was and largely still is, with Anthony Anderson hosting the most recent primetime run (2016-2022). The gameplay has remained largely the same throughout its many decades, with a set of challengers each posing as the same person while answering questions from a panel of celebrities who are trying to figure out the real deal.

• Standout Element: While To Tell the Truth deserves pop culture props for giving “The Real Slim Shady” a source for its hook, a big draw here is nearly eight decades of celebrities, such as Johnny Carson, Betty White, Nipsey Russell, Dave Coulier, and Nikki Glaser. And Anthony Anderson’s mom.

15. Name That Tune

Hosts: Red Benson, Bill Cullen, George DeWitt, Richard Hayes, Dennis James, Tom Kennedy, Jim Lange, Jane Krakowski

Though music is a common category in quiz shows, Name That Tune (not to mention its radio show influences) is on a different plane, with questions coming in the form of song snippets that contestants must bet on recognizing. Transitioning from radio to TV in 1953, where it aired on both NBC (1953-54) and CBS (1953-59), before later enjoying syndicated runs (1970-71, 1974-81, 1984-85) and its current incarnation on Fox (2021-present), whose third season featured celebrities as the contestants. That it continues getting rebooted is a sign of the format’s appeal, which certainly helped inspire Jamie Foxx’s Beat Shazam.

• Standout Element: Loudly guessing correct Rice-a-Roni prices and Ibsen plays is fun for other game shows, but it’s a special kind of pride that comes with identifying a song in three or fewer notes.

14. Card Sharks

Hosts: Jim Perry, Bob Eubanks, Bill Rafferty, Pat Bullard, Joel McHale

Card Sharks’ various mechanics largely come from other game shows, such as Family Feud’s group-surveyed questions and answers as well as Price Is Right’s higher-or-lower wagering system. But that doesn’t stop the combination of elements from being a winner, and just about everyone has cashed in. NBC launched it from 1978-81, and it later flipped to CBS (1986-89) and its first run in syndication (1986-87), followed by another (2001-02) ahead of an extended dorman phase that ended with the Joel McHale-hosted stint on ABC (2019-21). The rule changes have helped freshen things up between versions, though all the show really needs is oversized playing cards, and the rest works itself out.

• Standout Element: Card Sharks is another A+ example of Bob Eubanks’ charm, but it deserves credit for helping put future Night Court co-star and regular game show contestant Markie Post in front of TV audiences as a card dealer.

13. Cash Cab

Hosts: Ben Bailey, Beth Melewski, Adam Growe

Another one of many successful American game shows spun out of a UK format, Cash Cab is also one of the longest-running, with always genial comedian Ben Bailey driving the titular quiz-mobile for the bulk of its run across Discovery (2005-12, 2017-18) and Bravo (2019-20); though not the locational spinoff Cash Cab: Chicago or the 2024 AXS revival Cash Cab Music. The premise is simple enough, with myriad New York residents shocked to discover they’re in a traveling game show. Unlike many others in the genre, this isn’t a game show people get rich from, with pretty low-level takeaways even for the highest earners. Rather, Cash Cab boasts randomly timed rounds, depending on trip times, and one of the most hilarious forms of TV elimination: after three wrong answers, the cab stops and the contestants have to find a new ride.

• Standout Element: The final double-or-nothing round, should the riders choose to partake, is a great way to add some gambling-esque risks into the mix, since they players got a free ride out of it no matter what.

12. Match Game

Hosts: Gene Rayburn, Ross Shafer, Michael Burger, Alec Baldwin

One of the first game shows that truly thrived on the bawdy nature of double entendres, Match Game delivered easy-to-understand but not always easy to master gameplay, especially with panels featuring slightly more off-kilter panelists. Gene Rayburn and his signature mic fronted the fan-fave series for the bulk of its early runs on NBC (1962-69), CBS (1973-79), and syndicated (1975-81, 1979-82), with a plethora of familiar faces regularly filling up the panel seats, such as fellow host Richard Dawson, Charles Nelson Reilly, Brett Somers and more. Later versions — syndicated (1998-99) and another ABC run (2016-21) — brought back a lot of the early era’s classic guests while mixing in others. Its latest iteration, hosted by Alec Baldwin, was canceled in April 2022.

• Standout Element: Many of the question scenarios and answers posed in Match Game can be groaners to say the least, but when they pair up completely in the comedy’s favor, and you get a moment like Betty White snorting with laughter, all the groans were worth it.

11. What's My Line?

Hosts: John Charles Daly, Wally Bruner, Larry Blyden

While many of the earliest episodes of What’s My Line? have been lost or destroyed, its success kept it on the air from 1950-67 on CBS, and from 1968-75 in syndication, so more than enough episodes survived to have maintained its status and legacy as a hilarious game show. The gameplay traditionally has a panel of regulars attempting to guess the occupation of the episode’s guests, with one round featuring a mystery celebrity that must be identified, with a huge number of Hollywood legends appearing such as Alfred Hitchcock, Doris Day, Lucille Ball, the Rat Pack, Fred Astaire, Ava Gardner and many more as mystery guests. (Even Salvador Dali appeared, with Random House co-founder Bennett Cerf as a longtime regular panelist.) Despite not having aired a new episode since 1975, reruns somehow don’t feel nearly as aged as one might expect, although the use of the phrase “Is it bigger than a breadbox?” will make it feel just a bit dated.

• Standout Element: The fact that the format somehow hasn’t successfully been revived in the decades since it ended, though attempts were made with Harry Anderson in 2000 (with that pilot being skipped over in place of Survivor, which is while), and with David Hasselohoff in 2008.

10. The Chase

Hosts: Brooke Burns, Sara Haines

Based on the British series of the same name, the American take on The Chase started off on GSN (2013-2015) featuring the UK version’s Mark Labbett. But it was with ABC’s primetime iteration (2021-present) that it entered the quiz format’s upper echelon, thanks to additional chasers such as Jeopardy vets Ken Jennings, James Holzhauer, Brad Rutter, Buzzy Cohen, Victoria Groce and Brandon Blackwell. The individual chases are fun enough, but this is the rare series whose final round brings the contestants together as a team, which adds that much more variety to the format.

• Standout Element: Anytime contestants are able to best the chasers and pull out the win feels as earned as any game show victory possible.

9. Password

Hosts: Allen Ludden, Bert Convy, Regis Philbin, Steve Zaragoza, Keke Palmer

An absolute classic game show format that has been built upon by many other shows, as well as a few of its own spinoffs, Password featured memorable host Allen Ludden across its initial CBS run (1961-67), its shift to ABC (1971-75), and its flip to NBC as Password Plus (1979-82). The word association game featured numerous game show regulars like Richard Dawson and Vicki Lawrence in the early days, with Regis Philbin’s Million Dollar Password (2008-09) welcoming comedians such as Norm Macdonald and Chelsea Handler. The latest version for NBC, which debuted in 2022 with Jimmy Fallon as an executive producer, has featured celeb contestants such as Martin Short, Jon Cryer, Heidi Klum and more.

• Standout Element: Even with all the format tweaks over the years, the wildly easy gameplay is key to this show’s long-lasting appeal.

8. Let's Make A Deal

Hosts: Monty Hall, Bob Hilton, Billy Bush, Wayne Brady

The fast-paced and off-the-wall Let’s Make a Deal was co-created by Monty Hall, the very entertainer who served as its host for nearly 25 years across its runs on NBC (1963-68), ABC (1968-76) and its various syndicated runs that spanned on and off between 1971 and 1986. So many elements of this show have remained memorable through to the CBS iteration hosted by Wayne Brady (2009-present), from the bizarre assortment of costumes worn throughout the crowd of potential contestants to the endless number of ways the hosts attempt to get players to trade increasing amounts of money for mystery prizes hidden behind doors and boxes. The show remains unpredictable, as it’s never clear when competitors are going to successfully swap $250 for a brand new car, or when they’re going to foolishly trade out $500 for a lackluster prize like a live burro or a hundred pineapples. I’m also quite fond of the instant-gratification moments where Hall or Brady (or one of the others) will give an audience member a $100 bill if she has a mint in her purse.

• Standout Element: The game’s keep-or-trade offer took on a new life of its own within the world of probability theory as the “Monty Hall problem,” which dictates that it’s always the best bet to take the trade, at least in a game without host manipulations.

7. The $100,000 Pyramid

Hosts: Dick Clark, Bill Cullen, John Davidson, Donny Osmond, Mike Richards, Michael Strahan

No matter what dollar amount shows up in front of the titular structure, just about every version of Pyramid that pops up on TV is worth stopping on, though with Dick Clark as the GOAT host, and Michael Strahan in second place. The gameplay is so solid in this franchise that it’s pretty much stayed the same from its original $10,000 Pyramid run on CBS (1973-74) through to ABC’s ongoing $100,000 Pyramid. Contestants and celeb partners try to land 7 answers for a bevy of themed categories, culminating in bonus rounds within the instantly recognizable chair set-up in front of the giant gameboard. While this series is slightly harder to play at home with ease, since the answers appear on the bottom of the screen, the rounds are quick enough that they’re fun to watch even without doing any guessing.

• Standout Element: Few game show rounds are quite as satisfying to watch as a perfectly in-sync celebrity-partner pairing who demolish the Winner’s Circle in hardly any time.

6. Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?

Hosts: Regis Philbin, Meredith Vieira, Cedric the Entertainer, Terry Crews, Chris Harrison, Jimmy Kimmel

A series that helped revitalize the primetime game show, Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? was a runaway ratings smash in the early days of its ABC run (1999-2002), which helped spark the long-running syndicated version (2002-19) and eventually the short-lived ABC revival (2020-21). A quiz show like no other — well, except for the original UK format — Millionaire gave contestants a feasible shot at winning the titular grand prize by answering just 15 questions, with a variety of lifeline options over the years to latch onto. That immense hype for the show, helped along by Regis Philbin’s enjoyably low-key hosting, wasn’t for the long-haul, but it was strong enough to make “That’s my final answer?” and “Phone a Friend” everyday phrases. This modern-day update to the $64,000 Question concept also remains notable for introducing such highly dramatized camerawork and in-studio lighting, as well as its frequent pregnant pauses that inspire contestants to offer the most delightfully banal exposition behind why they’re choosing an answer.

• Standout Element: Given that contestants are only facing their own lack of knowledge in Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?, it’s always ideal to see someone go the distance and earn the big prize, especially given how un-fun it can be when players lose on the fifth or sixth question, leading to another cycle of insultingly easy multiple-choice questions.

5. Family Feud

Hosts: Richard Dawson, Ray Combs, Louie Anderson, Richard Karn, John O'Hurley, Steve Harvey

Family Feud has been a TV staple since 1976, with original host Richard Dawson earning quite the lippy reputation throughout his ABC run, which lapsed in 1985, and during his one-season return from 1994-95.. The game show’s formula, which hinges on surveyed answers from 100 men and women, has barely changed a bit since that time, with only ancillary ideas like the Bullseye and Bankroll rounds coming and going.

Its ongoing syndicated run, which started in 1999, has been fronted by the fan-adored comedian Steve Harvey since 2010, after past host John O’Hurley left due to an increase in sexually charged questions. (A fair complaint.) Outside of such mature material, Family Feud remains a show that just about anyone can sit down and play from home as a viewer without feeling the need to study anything first. And the introduction of the Celebrity Family Feud spinoff has only made the star-studded installments even more fun to keep up with.

• Standout Element: No host before Steve Harvey was known for highly animated reactions to contestants’ answers, but the Think Like a Man author will regularly lose all composure and decorum whenever someone’s guess skews overtly naughty or completely illogical.

4. Press Your Luck

Hosts: Peter Tomarken, Todd Newton, Elizabeth Banks

Given how often reruns aired for CBS’ Press Your Luck throughout the ‘80s and ‘90s, one might have assumed its run lasted far longer than just three seasons (1983-86). But its admittedly massive 750+-episode stretch was the only show with Big Bucks until GSN’s short-lived reboot (2002-03), to be later followed by the Elizabeth Banks-fronted primetime revival on ABC (2019-present).

Though partly a quiz show, most viewers would probably agree the core part of the Press Your Luck viewing experience is watching players try to avoid going bankrupt or worse on the big board, aiming to seek out giant sums of money without landing on one of the endlessly frustrating Whammies, which are also admittedly always fun to watch. This particular game show is also somewhat infamous for contestant Michael Larson, who took home a fortune during his 1984 appearances after having memorized the board’s repeated patterns at home.

• Standout Element: The 2019 revival’s introduction of the final bonus round, in which the episode’s winner gets a solo shot at potentially winning $1,000,000, raises the stakes quite considerably, to the point where a Whammy can go from being merely annoying to literally life-altering, if the contestant has a big enough total banked.

3. Wheel Of Fortune

Hosts: Chuck Woolery, Pat Sajak, Rolf Benirschke, Bob Goen, Susan Stafford, Vanna White

One of producer Merv Griffin’s greatest creations, Wheel of Fortune is as much an American institution as most contact sports and Starbucks, with word puzzles based on the children’s game Hangman and a weighted wheel sliced into various dollar amounts. Though the long-gone daytime edition featured several hosts including Chuck Woolery, the evening version of Wheel of Fortune has always featured Pat Sajak as its frontman, and will until his retirement following Season 43. And that longevity goes a long way in cementing WoF as one of the best game shows of all time, as it implies a kind of consistency that few small-screen competitors can commit to.

Which is to say nothing of the always enjoyable gameplay, the crafty (though occasionally questionable) puzzles, and the variety of on-wheel prizes for contestants to vie for, all while avoiding the dreaded Bankrupt space. The series has spawned a plethora of commercial board games, video games, and more ways to enjoy the puzzle-solving life from one’s own couch, if without the stars of Celebrity Wheel of Fortune.

• Standout Element: Watching a contestant pull off a majestical solve based on a single letter is only slightly less awesome than being the one to make that superb solve. But I’d be lying if I said it wasn’t fun watching players offer up the worst guesses humanly possible.

2. The Price Is Right

Hosts: Bill Cullen, Bob Barker, Dennis James, Tom Kennedy, Doug Davidson, Drew Carey

The daytime TV staple The Price Is Right originally ran on NBC from 1956-63 before last two more seasons on ABC(1963-65) — and featured both Don Pardo and Johnny Gilbert as announcers — but it’s the 1972 revival hosted by Bob Barker that most TV viewers above a certain age will always hold as the most classic iteration. The show has produced more than 10,000 episodes across all iterations, including the New Price Is Right syndicated edition (1994-95) and the continued daytime run with Drew Carey taking over as host in 2007.

It’s a series that remains go-to programming for bored retirees and homemakers, as well as those home sick from school or work, with viewers’ valuation skills being put to the test through a variety of different games and gimmicks. (Many would agree that Plinko remains a #1 part of the show, despite being based far more on chance than more intuitive challenges.) From the iconic visual of the big wheel to crafty wagering in the Showcase Showdown, every level of The Price Is Right is gamified for players’ and viewers’ enjoyment. The phrase “closest without going over” is also a memorable takeaway from this series’ existence, though perhaps not so much as Johnny Gilbert's signature "Come on down!"

• Standout Element: While I could probably watch a game show that was wholly fixated on the big wheel, I think possibly the best thing about watching The Price is Right is how unfiltered and authentic some of the contestants’ reactions are, even before they actually win anything.

1. Jeopardy!

Hosts: Art Fleming, Alex Trebek, Mike Richards, Mayim Bialik, Ken Jennings

For over 36 years, Jeopardy! and Alex Trebek went together like peanut butter and chocolate, with the oft-mustachioed host taking the reins in 1984 following prior NBC iterations (1964-75, 1978-79) fronted by Art Fleming. (As depicted in “Weird” Al Yankovic’s famed single and music video “I Lost on Jeopardy.”) It’s in part because of Trebek’s stoic and honorable run that Jeopardy!’s popularity surged over time, pulling in some of its biggest modern-day ratings during James Holzhauer’s win streak.

Though the show’s quality took a temporary dip after Trebek’s death in 2020, as producers went through a revolving door of guest hosts before giving the job to executive producer Mike Richards for a single day, the ship mostly righted itself thereafter. First with the record-breaking champ Ken Jennings sharing duties with The Big Bang Theory vet Mayim Bialik, and then with Jennings being promoted to lone host in December 2023. It’s already the greatest American quiz show, but by focusing more on tournaments centered on former champions’ returns, Jeopardy! continues thriving and evolving into an even more challenging series. And it would be easy enough to argue that the extended edition of Celebrity Jeopardy! and its six total Daily Doubles are a welcome charitable reprieve from the daily games.

• Standout Element: Though not everyone will agree on this, Jeopardy! became a far more competitive and unpredictable viewing experience once players such as Arthur Chu and James Holzhauer turned the Forrest Bounce into the new normal for incoming hopefuls, where only big wagers are welcomed.

There you have it, game show fans. Maybe in the near-to-distant future, more recent series such as Mario Lopez's Blank Slate, the Rob Lowe-hosted trivia show The Floor, or a show that hasn't even premiered yet will make the final cut. But for now, in the immortal words of Bob Barker: "Have your pets spayed or neutered."

Halle Berry is pure Ohio. Not only was John Wick: Chapter 3 star born in Cleveland but she's even named after a local department store, Halle's. Berry grew up in the suburb of Oakwood, just outside the Cleveland city limits, and even attended Cuyahoga Community College while she was first starting her career toward fame. Before starring in some of Hollywood's biggest movies, Berry represented her home state in the Miss USA contest, after being named Miss Ohio USA in 1986. 

Luke Perry

Luke Perry found fame playing a high school student at the posh West Beverly High, but his beginnings were much more humble. The son of a steelworker, Perry was born in the Ohio town of Mansfield and raised in a tiny burg called Fredericktown, where he attended high school at Fredericktown High School. He moved to Los Angeles after graduating and while it took a few years, he landed his big break in Beverly Hills, 90210. Perry died tragically from a stroke in 2019.

Drew Carey

No one on this list is more proud to be from Ohio than Price Is Right host Drew Carey. It's clear that his Cleveland roots mean a lot to him, given that his show, The Drew Carey Show, was set in Cleveland, with a theme song called "Cleveland Rocks." Not only did the comedian grow up in Cleveland, he also attended Kent State in Ohio and even served in the Marine Corps reserves in the state before moving west to find fame. 

Katie Holmes

Katie Holmes was born in Toledo, Ohio in 1978 and has always remained a proud Ohioan. She attended Catholic school as a kid and began modeling in Toledo while still in high school. That led to opportunities in New York City, which led to her landing her first film role at 19 in Ang Lee's The Ice Storm (1997). Soon after, she joined the cast of Dawson's Creek and the rest is history. 

John Legend

The Voice judge John Legend was born in the central Ohio town of Springfield. Legend was a true prodigy during his upbringing. He was dabbling in music at a young age, before leaving Ohio to attend the University of Pennsylvania. 

Yvette Nicole Brown

Yvette Nicole Brown took the hard road to fame. Before she landed her starring role on Community, she found her way to success with bit parts and one-offs on TV shows. It all paid off in the end, but before she made it in Hollywood, she was born and raised in the Cleveland, OH area. After high school, she attended the University of Akron and moved to LA after she graduated. 

Clark Gable

There is no bigger star from the Golden Age of Hollywood than Clark Gable. Like many of his fellow Ohioans, he had humble beginnings. Born in 1901 in Cadiz, OH, Gable moved around the state quite a bit before his father and stepmother settled near Akron. Gable struck out on his own, first working in a tire factory in Akron, before bouncing around until he finally ended up in Hollywood in the 1920s. 

Beverly D'Angelo

When you are the granddaughter of the architect who designed the famous Ohio Stadium at The Ohio State University, you know you are pure Ohio. Such is the case for Vacation star Beverly D'Angelo. Unsurprisingly, D'Angelo was born in Columbus and raised in the suburb of Upper Arlington, before setting out on an entertainment career that took her all over North America, before she found success in Hollywood. 

Steve Harvey

Okay, so we're fudging here a little, as beloved talk show host and TV judge Steve Harvey was actually born in West Virginia, but he was raised in Cleveland. After graduating from high school, he briefly attended Kent State, before dropping out and starting his standup career in comedy clubs in and around Cleveland. 

Paul Newman

When you think of the words "movie star," there's a good chance you might picture Paul Newman. From the mid-'50s until his death in 2008, the Shaker Heights, OH native was box office gold. He graduated from Shaker Heights High in 1943 and joined the Navy during World War II. He finally headed to LA in the '50s and over the next six decades starred in some of the biggest movies of all time. 

Arsenio Hall

Born in Cleveland in 1956, actor and talk show host Arsenio Hall grew up in nearby Warrensville Heights, Ohio, and attended college at both Ohio University and Kent State. He left Ohio, first for Chicago and later LA, and his career took off with some fantastic roles from there. 

Phyllis Diller

Phyllis Diller's remarkable life began in Lima, Ohio in 1917. Her roundabout way to comedy legend status started when she was still a full-time mother and homemaker with her military husband in Alameda, CA. She was discovered after she made some appearances on Bay Area radio and TV stations and from there became a star. 

Rachael Harris

Lucifer star Rachael Harris was born in Worthington, OH, and grew up in the Columbus area before attending college at Otterbein University in nearby Westerville, OH. She moved to LA and was a member of the legendary improv group The Groundlings before she started landing TV roles in the 1990s. Today she's best known for Goosebumps (2023) and Diary of a Wimpy Kid (2010), in addition to Lucifer. 

Steven Spielberg

In The Fablemans, Ohio native Steven Spielberg tells a fictionalized version of his own life, but one major change was made. In the movie, Sammy Fabelman (Gabriel LaBelle) and his family move from New Jersey to Arizona. In real life, the Spielbergs moved to Phoenix from Cincinnati, Ohio. Though he only lived in Cincinnati for the first ten years or so of his life, there is no doubt that one of the all-time great directors has his roots in Ohio. 

Carmen Electra

Carmen Electra was born just outside of Cincinnati and grew up in the Queen City. She first started dancing and acting at Princeton High School in the Cincinnati school district and her love of doing both led directly to Hollywood where she's been doing both for decades now. 

Doris Day

Though she retired from acting in 1968, Doris Day is still remembered as a legend of old Hollywood. She also recorded almost three dozen albums over her nearly 100-year life. It all started in Cincinnati in 1922 when Day was born Doris Mary Anne Kappelhoff. Her career started as a singer on a local radio station in Cincinnati, WLW. Her music led her to Hollywood, and a star was born. 

Philip Michael Thomas

Philip Michael Thomas is most famous for starring as Rico Tubbs on the '80s hit Miami Vice. He's also famous for inventing the term "EGOT", claiming in the '80s that he would win an Emmy, a Grammy, an Oscar, and a Tony, though he has yet to win any of the prestigious awards. Thomas was born in Cincinnati, but raised in California, where his career began. 

Teri Garr

Though she was raised mostly in Los Angeles, Teri Garr was born near Cleveland, OH, in the suburb of Lakewood. Her parents were entertainers, so it makes sense they would eventually land in Southern California, so while Garr didn't spend much time in Ohio, the state can certainly claim her as one of their own. 

Randy "Macho Man" Savage

Oh yeah! One of the greatest wrestlers of all time came from Columbus, OH. Born Randy Poffo in 1952, the Macho Man and his wrestling brother "Leaping" Lanny Poffo lived in Zanesville, Ohio, until the family moved to the Chicagoland area when Savage was in high school. Though he tried to become a pro baseball player, Savage found fame with the WWE and was a superstar in the sport until he died in 2012. 

Anne Heche

Before her tragic death in 2022, Anne Heche put together an impressive career in Hollywood and broke a lot of barriers when she very publicly dated Ellen DeGeneres. It was a long way from her strict Christian upbringing in Ohio. Heche was born in the Akron suburb of Aurora, Ohio, and also lived near Cleveland for a time before her father moved the family to New Jersey in 1977 when Heche was eight. 

Rob Lowe

Okay, okay, so Rob Lowe was actually born in Virginia, but he moved to Dayton, OH at a very young age and was raised in the Buckeye State. His first gigs as a professional actor came when he was still living in Dayton and as soon as he could, he headed out to Hollywood where he became one of the famous "Brat Pack" in the 1980s. His career had a few bumps in the road, but today he's one of the most beloved stars on the silver screen. 

Sarah Jessica Parker

Sarah Jessica Parker's most famed role is of a dyed-in-the-wool Manhattanite, but the actress was born in a quaint little town near Columbus named Nelsonville, Ohio, with a population of about 5000. Her career as a child actor took her whole family to New York in the 1970s and Parker has never looked back. 

Lili Reinhart

Riverdale star Lili Reinhart was born and raised in the Cleveland area, where she lived until she was 18. After graduating high school, she moved to LA and though she struggled like most young actors, eventually she started landing parts in a few movies, before scoring a starring role on the CW's Riverdale, playing the iconic Betty Cooper. 

Jamie Farr

Jamie Farr's most famous character, Corporal Klinger on one of the highest-rated shows of all time, M*A*S*H, was from Toledo, Ohio, which would have been easy for the actor to remember, as that is where Farr is from too. For decades, Farr's name was associated with the LPGA golf tournament, The Jamie Farr Classic (with various sponsor names over the years). 

Martin Sheen

Born Ramón Antonio Gerardo Estévez in Dayton, OH, The West Wing star Martin Sheen always knew he wanted to be an actor, even growing up in Dayton. Orphaned at eleven, he lived in Dayton until he graduated high school and headed off for New York to make it big, and it's safe to say he has. 

Fred Willard

Comedy legend Fred Willard is responsible for some of the funniest lines in the Christopher Guest family of films, a sense of humor he developed as a kid in the Cleveland suburb of Shaker Heights, OH. Born in Cleveland in 1933, Willard moved to New York in the '50s, and though it took a couple of decades to find fame, he eventually did. The world lost a great one when he died in 2020. 

Allison Janney

Though she is technically from Boston, where she was born in 1959, Allison Janney was raised in Dayton. Even her legendary character from The West Wing, CJ Craig, was  from Dayton and went back home in one episode for her high school reunion. 

Katt Williams

Katt Williams, the unpredictable, and hilarious, comedian was born and raised in Cincinnati, but left town and moved to Florida after being emancipated from his parents at age 13. For years he worked the comedy clubs before launching to fame in the late '90s. 

Nancy Cartwright

She might not be the most famous face on this list, but her voice is one of the most famous in the world. Nancy Cartwright has been doing the voice of Bart Simpson (and other Simpsons characters) for more than 30 years, but long before scoring that gig, she grew up in Kettering, Ohio after being born in Dayton.

Patricia Heaton

Patricia Heaton, star of Everybody Loves Raymond and The Middle, was born in the Cleveland suburb of Bay Village, OH and she got her bachelor's degree at The Ohio State University. So while she lives in LA and in the UK these days, she's an Ohioan through and through. 

Catherine Bach

It's hard to believe that The Dukes of Hazzard was consistently one of the highest-rated shows during its run in the late '70s and early '80s. It's not hard to believe that Cleveland native Catherine Bach as Daisy Duke in her short shorts was a big reason why it was so popular. 

Rocky Carroll

NCIS star Rocky Carroll is a proud son of Cincinnati, where he attended the School for Creative and Performing Arts for high school like many other stars from the area. After attending college in St. Louis, MO, he moved to New York City to start his career and he's never looked back. 

While it may not jump out as an entertainment hotbed, when you scratch the surface, you'll soon realize just how many celebrities have been born in Ohio, and it's a lot. 

Whether he’s screaming over contestants’ wild answers on Family Feud, issuing a common sense judgment on Judge Steve Harvey or shelling out dating advice, Steve Harvey has become not only one of the hardest-working people in entertainment but one of the most fun to watch. His infectious laugh, deadpan facial expressions and genuine reactions are a thing of beauty, but a recent Internet craze involving Harvey in A.I.-generated images has me laughing for a whole new reason.

Artificial intelligence has been a hot topic lately in some pretty serious conversations like those involving the recently resolved WGA strike. If you watch pretty much any movie involving A.I., you’d think it’s only a matter of time before the computers stage an uprising against humanity. However, lots of people have begun enjoying the lighter side of the technology, creating realistic(ish) images of things we’ll likely never see, and now with the help of A.I., the Internet has graced us with images of Steve Harvey in ridiculous situations, like these where he’s being chased by monsters:  

The blurry images of Steve Harvey actually is what makes these images feel more real, because it seems like they could have been taken straight from some shaky Blair Witch Project-style found footage. The popular game show host is the perfect subject for these pictures too, because of how expressive he always is. Honestly, you can practically hear his screams — and who would blame him? Those monsters are creepy!

We’ve also got some creations that show Steve Harvey rocking out as the frontman of a hardcore rock band. These viral pics may not seem as unsettling as the ones above, but I challenge you to zoom in on the crowd members’ faces and fingers and then get back to me.

There’s something that’s just not quite right with those music lovers, and as sick as Steve Harvey looks with that mic in his hand, I hope I never find myself in that crowd. Speaking of which, I also hope to never happen upon the Family Feud host in a state like the one shown below, where faux Steve Harvey appears to be drowning some pretty heavy sorrows: 

Perhaps these images were inspired by recent rumors that Steve Harvey’s wife cheated on him, and I hate thinking about the wails of “Marjorie!” that would be coming from this version of the game show host, were this an A.I.-generated video.

The art of artificial intelligence has opened up a new world for us, and we're only limited by our imaginations. Artists are going viral for showing us Danny DeVito and other celebrities as Spider-Man, imagining what Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston’s babies would look like and even picturing the Harry Potter cast as characters on The Office. 

Of course, this could all be a scheme to get our guards down and keep our eyes on the entertaining images that appear on our screens while the computers perform their uprising. I mean, the movies tried to warn us!

Something bothered me after the iconic Bob Barker died in August. First, it broke my heart that Hollywood lost an icon, who lived to the ripe old age of 99 and carved out an indelible mark on a generation of television audiences. But in the wake of Barker’s death, almost everyone immediately linked him to his unforgettable cameo in Adam Sandler’s Happy Gilmore, where the two fought to the death on the golf course. And it should be mentioned. But not at the expense of Barker’s legendary run as the host of the daytime game show The Price is Right. 

That’s wrong. 

Game shows are a staple of the television medium, dating back to Melody Puzzles in 1937, Battle of Sexes in 1938, The Ask-It Basket in 1939. They grew to grand stature in the 1960s and 70s courtesy of hit game shows such as Jeopardy, The Gong Show, The $10,000 Pyramid, and Wheel of Fortune, to name just a few. It was during that stretch that Barker took over as host of The Price is Right (in 1972), and it’s a position that he held for 35 years before retiring in 2007. His influence still can be felt in the game-show environment to this day, from the advice Barker gave to replacement host Drew Carey to the energy and attitude that’s reflected in modern hosts like Steve Harvey or Michael Strahan. 

With all of that in mind, I started to think about where Bob Barker would rank in the grand pantheon of game show hosts. And I realized that I knew way more about game show hosts than I ever assumed. Now, I’m keeping this focused on traditional game shows, not reality competitions (sorry, Jeff Probst). And so, here are the 15 greatest game show hosts of all time.

15. Pat Sajak 

Pat Sajak makes it onto this list due to his longevity. The man has presided over Wheel of Fortune for more than four decades, which is a LONG time to be listening to people guess the same letters over and over, five nights a week. I preferred Wheel of Fortune when the contestants used to shop in between rounds, their floating heads purchasing items off of a set. At least then, Sajak had time to interact with his winners. Because my biggest knock on Sajak is that he’s vanilla, and his lack of viral moments in that 40+ year career tells you exactly how boring he managed to be. With all due respect, props to the man for keeping the wheel spinning, but maybe the show would have been more entertaining with Vanna White in the hosting role? It’s not too late to find out.

14. Marc Summers

If you are nodding your head at this placement (or even challenging that it needs to be higher), then you are amongst the millions of readers who spent time after school cheering on families as they competed in outrageous physical challenges that usually involved finding a flag in the messiest situations possible. Marc Summers presided over Double Dare on Nickelodeon, and stood out because he didn’t mind embracing the chaos that came with the clever competitions invented for the show. It was fun watching parents and kids clawing through life-sized bowls of spaghetti and sauce in hopes of winning a prize. But it was uproarious seeing the affable Summers coated in the same goop by the end of almost every episode, doing whatever it took to get the laugh. Trebek would never. 

13. Regis Philbin / Dick Clark (tie)

Here’s the thing about the two men I have tied for 13th place on this list: Neither of them needed to be the host of a game show. They already were extremely popular (and successful) thanks to other endeavors. Both Regis Philbin and Dick Clark were staples in the homes of Americans thanks to other work they did on television. I’d put them in the same category as Michael Strahan, Elizabeth Banks, Jane Lynch, or Ben Stein. I don’t think of them as game show hosts first. They are entertainers who happened to host a show at some point in their career. But Philbin and Clark were so memorable as hosts of extremely popular primetime game shows (Who Wants to Be a Millionaire and The $10,000 Pyramid, respectively), that leaving them off of the list would be wrong. 

12. Bob Eubanks

Where Regis and Dick Clark were known well outside the realm of their respective game show gigs, Bob Eubanks basically had The Newlywed Game as his badge of honor. But he was so effective at getting couples to talk about “making whoopee,” it immediately cemented him in the pantheon of game show hosts. Eubanks succeeded as a radio deejay before helping to launch The Newlywed Game in 1966, and his ability to disarm his contestants with open and candid conversation likely came from his early years on live radio. And because Eubanks kept returning to the format during several revivals, he became the only person in the entertainment industry to host the same game show in six consecutive decades (from the 1960s through the 2010s). 

11. Anne Robinson

Do you know one thing that a game show host can do to cement their legacy? Come up with a catchphrase. “Have your pet spayed or neutered!” belongs to Bob Barker. “Survey says…” is linked forever to Richard Dawson. And during her run as the host of The Weakest Link, Anne Robinson locked her place on this list with her cruel, cold, and deliciously dismissive, “You are the weakest link. Goodbye.” She didn’t have to be great beyond that, and she’d still get placement on this list. But because Robinson had tight chemistry with her contestants that I put her JUST outside the Top 10. 

10. Howie Mandel

I almost lumped Howie Mandel into the same category as Regis Philbin and Dick Clark, because I remember him as an extremely successful stand-up comic who used to put rubber gloves over his head and blow them up using only his nose. It was a gimmick, but it worked! Over the years, though, the notorious germaphobe graduated to full-time contest host, and while he’s known for his current run on America’s Got Talent, I think he deserves a call out on this list for his tremendous work on Deal Or No Deal. Mandel’s gift as a stand-up allowed him to have tremendous conversations with the contestants, the banker, and the models holding the cases that were opened during the game. It made for a wildly entertaining, energetic primetime competition that also soared in syndication. Good deal!

9. Jim Lange

Of all the people showcased on this list, Jim Lange might be the most prolific in the game show field. A radio disc jockey (like so many other TV hosts before him), Lange stayed incredibly busy by hosting Oh My Word, $100,000 Name That Tune, Bowling for Dollars, Bullseye, Triple Threat, and others. But his masterpiece has to be The Dating Game, which he presided over for 15 years, charming beautiful bachelorettes with his banter while they fielded questions and answers from hopeful bachelors. Lange was a pro’s pro with a real gift for pacing, and knowing how to keep the flirtatious game show on the right side of the line.  

8. Ken Ober

A few people on this list landed one seminal gig, and made it into a career. That list has to include the brilliant Ken Ober, a comedian and actor who bounced around to a couple of gigs (and even hosted a few other game shows) but forever will be known for his outstanding work on the loose, freestyling, rowdy, and twisted MTV game show Remote Control. It catered to the kids who were tuning into the network on a daily basis. It was low-budget. It was goofy. And Ober was cool, offering snack breaks for the contestants, and introducing Adam Sandler and Colin Quinn to the world. This show needs a reboot, with Ober, Sandler, and Quinn back in their roles.

7. Wink Martindale

Some people were just born to host game shows. And if you embrace the stage name Wink Martindale on behalf of your professional career, you basically accept the fact that this is going to be your lot in life… and it’s best that you try to become the best of the best at it. And that’s what Wink Martindale did, primarily on Tic-Tac-Dough from 1978-85. Martindale made a basic game of tic-tac-toe entertaining and suspenseful, though adding a fire-breathing dragon behind one of the squares probably helped. Basically, though, if you mention the name “Wink,” we immediately think of Tic-Tac-Dough, and that shows real power and influence. 

6. Steve Harvey

Here’s where we start getting into the cream of the crop. Steve Harvey is outstanding as the host of Family Feud and Celebrity Family Feud. And as you’ll see with the list progressing, he had enormous shoes to fill as host of this long-running game show. But Harvey has mastered the art of viral videos, whether they come from emotional surprises in the audience, or hilariously inappropriate answers from clueless contestants. Harvey makes fun without ever insulting, spotlights the absurd for the right amount of time, and has earned the “Uncle Steve” nickname that so many players have lovingly adopted. With Harvey, it’s all in the Family.    

5. Chuck Barris

The top five is filled with heavy hitters. And if you believe Chuck Barris, it’s filled with professional hitmen, as well. Barris once claimed in his autobiography that he had worked for years in the CIA. He retracted that claim years later, then gently retracted the retraction, never revealing the truth before his death in 2017. What we DO know about Barris is that he created two wildly popular game shows in The Dating Game and The Newlywed Game, then turned himself into a household name as the ring leader of the televised circus known as The Gong Show. The acts were increasingly bizarre on that program, and Barris was the idea host, keeping things moving and perpetually entertaining. He was both dependable and unpredictable, in the same package. What a gift. 

4. Gene Rayburn

Play the game with me. “Gene Rayburn was so talented at his job, he could BLANK, and still not get fired!” Cue the unforgettable Match Game theme song. The great Rayburn hosted the classic Match Game, and the best part about him was the way that he interacted with the celebrity panel… which was usually the funniest content on daytime television. Match Game made household names of Charles Nelson Reilly, Brett Somers, Betty White, Vicki Lawrence, Nipsey Russell, and the legendary Rip Taylor. It took a razor-sharp wit and quick mind to keep up with the ball-breaking comics on that show, and Rayburn was magnificent with his timing, comebacks, and banter. Match Game wouldn’t have succeeded without him.

3. Richard Dawson

No one in the game show universe was cooler than Richard Dawson. Dudes admired his humor and style. Every woman on the Family Feud set wanted to kiss him (and usually did). He was a rock star game show host who treated Family Feud like a world tour. He read mildly suggestive clues, fielded bizarre answers from families competing for cash, and he wrung the sharpest jokes out of the entire endeavor. Dawson was a comedic actor on Hogan’s Heroes as well as a beloved panelist on Match Game. But survey says it is his stint on the original Family Feud that turned him into a legend. 

2. Alex Trebek

The late, great Alex Trebek changed the game when it came to hosting a game show. The majority of hosts prior to Trebek treated guests with respect. They were happy to have them there, and usually encouraged them to succeed. Trebek? Not so much. At best, Trebek seemed to tolerate the Jeopardy contestants, a tone that best reflected the intellectual challenge of the program. We wanted to be really good at Jeopardy because we thought it might please Alex Trebek. That attitude probably only works on one show, but Jeopardy was the one to use it on. It turned Trebek into a game show god. 

1. Bob Barker

Bob Barker had it all. The host of The Price is Right was witty, warm, and wise. He could be charming with guests, or impatient (when the contestants warranted it). In time, as Barker grew older and more generations welcomed him into their homes, the television personality felt more like a family member we’d check in on daily, rather than a “character” on a show. Barker would trade his unusually thin Price is Right microphone for celebrated cameos like the one opposite Adam Sandler in Happy Gilmore. And he made controlling the pet population his charitable mission. But basically, the skilled Barker made the act of guessing grocery prices into an art, and every other game show host we see from this point forward will owe a debt of gratitude to him.

If there’s anything fans likely know about Steve Harvey (aside from the fact that he’s the host of Family Feud and loves a green suit), it’s that he’s also a devoted family man. The veteran entertainer has been married to Marjorie Bridges Harvey for almost two decades now, and the two have always given the impression that they’re deeply in love. However, their romance was thrown into question last week when rumors started making the rounds. There were claims made that Marjorie cheated on her hubby with multiple people. Now, the couple is clapping back at the (unsubstantiated) allegations. 

On X (which was once known as Twitter), speculation about the couple ran rampant, as Marjorie Bridges Harvey was accused of cheating on her man with both his personal chef and bodyguard. There was, as mentioned, not concrete evidence to prove that such extramarital affairs ever took place. Nevertheless, the Harveys felt the need to address the noise head on. Steve, for his part, discussed the chatter while he was on stage before an audience during a show in Atlanta. The 66-year-old media personality addressed the accusations in a candid manner that’s befitting of his personality: 

Well, there you have it, folks. The comments he made, which were captured in a TikTok video, indicate that he and his wife are doing well. It also sounds like he’s tired of rumors and speculation at this point. His spouse also seemed to be less than pleased with the narrative that’s been making the rounds. She posted her response on Instagram, where she shared a link to a Christian Ministry website that offers guidance on being lied to. In addition to including a screenshot of a verse from the book of 1 Peter, she dropped the following caption: 

The Harveys have certainly shown that they don’t suffer fools, especially when it comes to matters involving their personal lives. By all accounts, the two remain infatuated with one another. A few years ago, Steve Harvey opened up about knowing his wife was the one for him. They apparently dated for a year and a half, before breaking up amid Harvey’s experience with homelessness. Eventually, both married different people but, after divorces, they found their way back to each other. On some occasions, the former talk show host will discuss what he loves about his spouse, including her desire for a huge Christmas tree every year. 

Last year, Steve Harvey also penned an emotional letter to his wife on their 15th wedding anniversary, after which daughter Lori Harvey threw some support their way. So it would seem that the Harveys’ marriage remains rock solid at this time. Let’s wish them continued bliss (and avoidance of wild rumors) as time goes on.

This season of Celebrity Family Feud has already produced several big winning moments thus far, from Yellowjackets’ multi-general cast sharing screentime to a drag queen pulling fruit from a wig and eating it on stage. And as all longtime fans of the game show know, it’s always a good time when pro wrestlers take the stage, regardless of whether one actually keeps up with wrestling or not. Case in point: the Battle of the Sexes episode featuring WWE’s male wrestlers vs. female Superstars was quite an amusing delight on the whole, but it was the question about hypothetical romantic partners for host Steve Harvey that served as a mega-highlight. 

After first answering survey questions about sex locations from long ago and farm produce shaped like the booty of a farmer’s wife — keeping it classy, as always — the WWE athletes were faced with this inquiry:

Already, such a loaded question was bound to deliver some A+ guesses from the contestants, but Harvey had barely finished speaking it before Big E buzzed in with the answer Beyoncé. At which point Harvey suddenly lost his ability to start speaking again. Well, I guess he did utter a shocked “What?” a couple of times, but they could barely be heard over the chorus of angels that began singing within the host’s imagination, as he shared this gobsmacked expression. 

I'm pretty sure a couple of birds could have flown into and back out of Steve Harvey's mouth in that moment, and he would have been too busy trying to wrap his mind around a romance with Beyoncé to bother waving his feathered friends away. Now, I'd imagine he had an idea of what the answers would be for this one, since it involved him personally, but I love the dedication to playing it up like it's such a surprise. Which isn't to say that SHE would be interested, but we'll just assume that'd be the case. 

And hey, six people surveyed shared the Destiny's Child vet as their answer, which means there are at least 8 people who could foresee such a romantic connection happening, with Harvey and Big E included. 

Kofi Kingston followed up that guess with another R&B icon, Rihanna, which caused Steve Harvey to smile while admitting his heart might not be able to survive the episode if they kept bringing up that level of hypothetical romances. That said, nobody else guessed Rihanna. 

Which brings us to another classic Harvey moment, which came when Seth Rollins guessed Oprah Winfrey. There wasn't as much disbelief on display, but rather a sense of "Awwwww, yeahhhhh." Check out the video highlight clip below, with the Oprah reaction happening right around the 2:10 mark. 

Steve Harvey was miming out making it rain dollar bills while also popping his hips and just generally celebrating the idea of being with Oprah. Talk about a TV power couple. And far more people were into that idea, as it was the number 1 answer with 37 people. Harvey even called his shot for that being the top response. He knows what's up. 

The rest of the episode was also quite fun, of course, but there's nothing quite like Harvey reacting to the idea of being a romantic foil for two of the most successful women in the entertainment industry. Here's hoping that question gets a follow-up in a later episode.

Anytime Steve Harvey pulls out a superlative when talking about the Family Feud contestant he’s standing in front of, there’s a 99.99% chance the comment was immediately preceded by a left-field guess that defied logic and/or taste. Such was the case during an episode featuring a dude who managed to come out looking like a genius despite sharing an answer that was anything but, thus making Harvey’s claim that he was the “best/worst player” rather suitable. 

Check out the chopped up and edited Shorts clip below, which Harvey shared on his Instagram page, in which family patriarch Glenn inserts an extra consonant into the name of a pop star, talk show host, and occasional Voice coach.

I think this is proof enough that Family Feud’s judges are a wild and unpredictable bunch. For those unable to watch, Steve Harvey asked the survey question of “Name something that might be described as hot-hot-hot?” with the answers “Chili Peppers” and “Hot Sauce/Salsa” already on the board. And Glenn, bless his heart, took a shot by confidently sharing this answer:
 

Which, as we all know, is not how Grammy winner Kelly Clarkson spells or says her name, since it’s technically not her name. Perhaps there’s a special someone from Glenn’s past whose name is Kelly Clarkston, and he was totally into her and wanted to give her a wink-wink shout out on TV. But that’s definitely not the case. 

Speaking again to the point of the judges’ leniency, Glenn offered up a mispronunciation of a celeb right at the buzzer, and then repeated the mispronunciation when Harvey asked, and yet it still managed to land the generalized #1 answer of “People.” Which I understand, of course, since the name “Kelly Clarkston” could indeed be a person. So this is hardly the most flagrant example of what counts as a correct answer, but it does make me wonder where the line would be drawn.

Would a completely made up name still count? If the person who answered right before had said “Malakai ‘Clam Hands’ McGillicuddy,” would that have also counted for “People.” Or if someone had guessed their own mother. I think Glenn would have earned an additional stripe for his Best/Worst Player patch if he’d have gone with one of those. Or perhaps “Tom Cruitse.”

Spoilers below for the latest episode of Celebrity Family Feud, if that’s the kind of thing that puts a bee in your bonnet. 

Following its ninth season premiere, which brought together both generations of Yellowjackets’ ensemble cast for its first half, the Steve Harvey-fronted Celebrity Family Feud delivered another episode devoted to a specific series: Hulu’s reality competition Drag Me to Dinner. The 2023 newcomer boasts Neil Patrick Harris and hubby David Burtka as executive producers and judges, and the pair were joined on stage by a selection of the show’s standout drag queens, not to mention drag king Murray Hill. The episode was a total scream from end to end, but it was when fruit started coming out of wigs where things reached must-watch heights.

As seen in the highlight reel below, Celebrity Family Feud host Steve Harvey made it all the way to the second face-off before his mind melted before audiences’ eyes. All thanks to contestant Willam Belli having the unpredictably brilliant idea to bring some potassium to the podium. Check out the video below to see how it all plays out. 

As if Willam and Burtka's signature handshake wasn't enough to send a befuddled Harvey over the edge, he didn't even have a chance to start asking the survey question before Willam reached up and maneuvered that exquisite hairpiece in such a way that he pulled out a banana. And this was no mere prop banana. It was sustenance!

Family Feud is not the kind of game show where contestants regularly engage in chowing down in the middle of an episode — not a big push for that across all of game show-dom, really — so I feel pret-ty safe in assuming this is the only time two hopefuls shared a banana while Steve Harvey stared forward into the abyss. All the style points go to Willam for pulling the gag off without breaking, even as Burtka was cackling on the opposite side of the podium. But then I don't know how anyone can keep a straight face after causing Harvey's to go completely slack like this:

Arguably the best thing about all this is that Willam seemingly went through the intro and a full round with that banana sitting on top of his head. The sacrifices entertainers go through for us, the audience, amirite? I do wish that became a running gag where he has other items to pull from his wig depending on what the question was, such as a giant Looney Tunes-esque mallet. Or, alternatively, if someone would have pulled off a magnifent pratfall by slipping on the banana peel that Willam tossed behind him.

And if all that weren't enough, Willam followed it up by making a "banana in my wig, but I was just happy to see you" joke, and then nailed what would probably be a Top 10 most extreme Family Feud guess if it didn't get completely censored. When asked to name something a dog does that a person might do while making love, the Drag Me to Dinner star offered up a blurred-out response that addressed canines' known habit of using their tongues on themselves. It's no wonder Steve Harvey was so hilariously hesitant to hear it. 

At least Harvey was able to rise to the occasion himself, as it were, whenever the contestants were asked to name a phrase that ends with the word "Daddy." Symone's guess of "Big Daddy" inspired the host to bring up how much he may or may not be deserving of that particular phrase. At some point this show should drop unedited episodes on streaming for fans to choose if they so wish.

Anyone who wants to check out Drag Me to Dinner doesn’t need to use any fruit-based methods to prove their worth. It just takes a Hulu subscription to stream the ten-episode entirety of Season 1, which debuted on May 31. That’s also where viewers can stream eps of Celebrity Family Feud the day after they air, and I think we can all agree this particular ep belongs in the Rewatch Regularly folder. 

When it comes to giving audiences moments they won’t find anywhere else on TV, Celebrity Family Feud is known for featuring some shockingly terrible guesses and guessers — respectfully lookin’ at you, Boyz II Men during the Fast Money Round — as well as all manner of overtly sexual answers to overtly sexual questions. But with its Season 9 premiere, the show offered up something beyond the ordinary, as Steve Harvey welcomed the ensemble cast of Showtime’s timeline-twisting horror Yellowjackets. And despite not utilizing any cabin settings or edible body parts, the Feud gave fans something that the scripted series itself isn’t even able to pull off. 

Namely, Yellowjackets fans were able to watch the differing generations of stars actually mixing it up and getting silly together on stage, which obviously isn’t something that can happen on the fly or with any regularity in Showtime’s series. Celebrity Family Feud split its teams up largely by age, with co-creator Ashley Lyle serving as the fifth team member for the “Teens,” which allowed for some glorious (if criminally short) moments between Misty portrayers Christina Ricci and Samantha Hanratty, Taissa actresses Jasmin Savoy Brown and Tawny Cypress, and Shauna stars Sophie Nélisse and Melanie Lynskey. Not to mention teen Lottie portrayer Courtney Eaton and adult Van actress Lauren Ambrose, as well as Warren Kole, who plays the man, the myth, the legend: Jeff.

Given the fact that the only way for Yellowjackets to mix up its core casts is through dream sequences, hallucinations and other moments that stray outside direct realism, there are basically zero moments when fans would be able to see both generations of Misty crossing paths. But I'll say with completely certainty now that it was an absolute hoot to see Ricci and Hanratty facing off at the podium for Celebrity Family Feud's first question of Season 9, largely because it was just instant and loud chaos, but like the comfortable kind of friendly sleepover chaos that starts off with two professional women shaking hands. The pair could make additional livings giving paid reactions to moments. 

While Yellowjackets' characters have to deal with a heaping pile of escalating problems, the starts themselves were very fun to watch in the low-stakes world of Celebrity Family Feud, where the first question was "We asked 100 women: you'd rather do what then have sex?" And I gotta say, some of the wrong answers were better than what was on the list. Not so much Hanratty's confused look, but Ambrose' guess of "Read" was aces. 

As fun as it was to watch Ricci and Hanratty, as well as Nélisse and Lynskey, the most GIF-worthy highlight from the Celebrity Family Feud episode involved the humble Jasmin Savoy Brown and Tawny Cypress showing off their excellent dance moves together. Just that eight seconds of chemistry was enough to spark a little bit of regret in knowing that they'll likely never share a Yellowjackets scene that involves such mirth and joy. Really, anytime someone dances on the dark thriller, it's a plus in my book.

Beyond the glut of questions we're still thinking about while waiting for Season 3 (which was delayed over the ongoing WGA writers strike), the Feud gave fans a bit of a comedic amuse-bouche with all these actors ahead of their return to possibly mystical survivalism. Maybe this can be the season where Showtime pairs off the actors for commentary recordings or behind-the-scenes extras to dig into after watching episodes. We need to see these generations collide!

As the host of Family Feud, Steve Harvey is known for his hilarious reactions to some of the contestants’ dumbest answers, even causing him to scream and throw his card at times. Harvey, however, is not without his own on-screen blunders, and likely the most infamous of mistakes in his career came in the 2015 Miss Universe Pageant, when Harvey declared the wrong winner. Looking back at the fiasco eight years later, Harvey pinpointed what exactly he did wrong that night, and he called out T.J. Holmes for the part he played in the backlash against him. 

Steve Harvey Admits One Mistake In Miss Universe Snafu 

Steve Harvey didn’t hold back when talking about the Miss Universe brouhaha on Shannon Sharpe’s Club Shay Shay podcast, where he defended his actions on the night that Miss Colombia was mistakenly named the pageant winner, rather than Miss Philippines. Harvey maintained that he read what was on his card and the teleprompter, as well as following the directions given to him in his earpiece. His mistake came after, he said, when he chose to try to fix the mistake on live TV. When he was informed of the error, he explained: 

Had Steve Harvey not chosen to rectify the situation in that moment, it’s likely he wouldn’t have turned into the face of the controversy. Instead, however, he returned to the stage and fell on the sword, saying: 

Steve Harvey went on to explain that, despite reports at the time that he had not rehearsed that portion of the show, they had rehearsed all week reading the second runner-up and then announcing the winner. However, one of the staffers didn’t agree with the decision to not announce the first runner-up, and wrote that contestant's name on the card, which Harvey said led to the error.  

Steve Harvey Calls Out T.J. Holmes For Criticism Following Pageant Debacle 

Steve Harvey said he had no idea how bad the fallout would be for taking ownership of the on-air gaffe. He said he and his children had to turn off their social media, the family had bricks thrown over the gate at their house with messages attached, and he said because of the drug cartel, he has armed guards outside his house 24/7 to this day. He said people he thought were his friends also turned on him, and he specifically called out former GMA3 host T.J. Holmes, saying: 

T.J. Holmes, who recently parted ways with ABC News after his relationship with GMA3 co-host Amy Robach was exposed, left CNN in 2011 before returning briefly in 2013. So whether he made a guest appearance on the cable news network in 2015 following the pageant faux-pas or Steve Harvey named the wrong network, it’s clear that he was affected by Holmes’ reaction. 

Eight years may have passed since the Miss Universe mix-up, but it’s clearly still a sore subject for the Family Feud host, who didn’t realize the impact the mistake would have. However, he did point out some silver linings, including the increase of his global brand, a Super Bowl commercial that resulted from it and the respect of many around the world for his honesty in the moment.

Jaime Foxx shocked the world when it was revealed that he suffered a medical complication that has led to him spending extended time in the hospital. His daughter was the one who shared the information about Foxx on social media, but she did not share any details about the medical complication in question. This came only days after he was seen on set filming his new movie Back in Action with the newly unretired Cameron Diaz. Now, an insider is providing an update on the Oscar winner’s health, and friends of his, including Martin Lawrence and Steve Harvey, are sharing support for his recovery. 

Little information is still known about what caused Foxx’s medical condition, however, the actor is reportedly recovering, his health is slowly improving, and many tests are being done. An inside source also gave a health update about Foxx to People, saying:

Thank goodness he is getting better despite a serious incident. Many of Foxx’s fans were surprised that he suffered a health problem, and they are not alone. The actor's friends also seemed shocked that he ended up in the hospital, especially considering the 55-year-old is in really good shape. Many of the Ray star's peers recently gathered to celebrate Martin Lawrence being a recipient of a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, where ET asked them about Foxx’s condition. Steve Harvey expressed his own surprise, saying:

Martin Lawrence also sent his love to the Collateral star and his family while expressing his reverence for Foxx as an actor and a friend. He said:

Lastly, Tracy Morgan expressed his solidarity for Foxx, relating to the actor due to his own past health issues. Morgan was hospitalized after a vehicle collision back in 2014 that led to him being in a coma for 10 days. He sent his well-wishes to his friend, saying:

While a timeline for the actor's return to acting is still uncertain, everyone, including his closest friends are rooting for a speedy recovery and for the actor to return to the big screen soon. As previously mentioned, he was in the midst of filming his latest Netflix movie, Back in Action, when the incident happened, and little is known about how Foxx's emergency will affect the film’s release. Regardless, his health is the most important, and clearly, he has a lot of support from friends and family.

Back in 2019, Family Feud welcomed the Bliefnick family to the competition, and the episode's taping offered up what was, at the time, another one of the game show's standout moments involving a contestant sharing hilarious and/or awkward answers for Steve Harvey's to react to with glee. Contestant Timothy Bliefnick shared an answer that shined a negative light on his marriage situation, which understandably sparked laughter from the audience and fellow players. But it was a more ominous moment than anyone could have predicted at the time, with Bliefnick getting having been this week and charged with, among other crimes, the first-degree murder of his estranged wife.

On the morning of Monday, March 13, the Quincy Police Department arrested the 39-year-old Timothy Bliefnick at his Illinois residence, enforcing a no bond warrant based on weeks worth of compiled evidence. The former college football star was charged with two counts of First Degree Murder and Home Invasion concerning the murder of 41-year-old Rebecca Bliefnick, his estranged wife and mother of three children. 

The victim was found shot to death in her home on February 23, after she hadn't shown up to pick her children up from school that day. Less than a week later, it was reported that police searched the suspect's home and took someone in for questioning from the address, presumably Timothy Bliefnick, though that person was soon released. Following the arrest, his attorney denied the accusations. 

It wasn't long before clips from the aforementioned Family Feud episode resurfaced, with one of his answers coming off as a haunting coincidence at best, and foreshadowing at worst. 

For those who are unable to view the video, Steve Harvey posed the survey question: "What's the biggest mistake you made at your wedding?" And when the host got to "Tim," as he was dubbed for the appearance, the hubby shared the following answer while looking off into the audience:

Definitely not the most innocuous answer for someone who would go on to be charged with his wife's murder, but in standing by her client's claim of innocence, Bliefnick's attorney Casey Schnack told Fox News Digital that the Family Feud moment isn't indicative of anything more than a game show moment. (His response did net the #2 spot on the board.) According to Schnack:

Timothy and Rebecca Bliefnick reportedly got married in 2009, and were seemingly together during the time of the Family Feud taping. But at some point in the time since, they had separated and were in the process of getting a divorce, according to KHQA. At some point, a restraining order was filed against Timothy Bliefnick, either by Rebecca herself or by an outside party, and another was later filed in her name against his father. Without any further details into the reasoning, Bliefnick later filed his own restraining order against his to-be ex-wife. The news station also reports that several court documents concerning the couple were removed from public viewing after police began their homicide investigation. 

If convicted, Bliefnick could face a minimum sentence of 45 years to life behind bars, given a firearm was used to commit the crime. For the home invasion charge, he could be sentenced with 31 years to life in prison. He was denied bond at a hearing that took place on Tuesday, March 14, and his next court appearance is set for Friday, March 24.

I don’t think anyone would go out of their way to debate the idea that the majority of Family Feud’s modern-era episodes are fueled by suggestive questions primed to inspire occasionally perverse answers from its wide assortment of contestants. Others’ mileage will vary, but what makes the show continue to work for me is that the contestant pool hasn’t evolved much in any obvious capacity, and it never gets old watching normal, everyday people saying goofy shit on TV. And it also never gets old seeing how over-the-top Steve Harvey’s reactions can get, especially when he’s inspired to show off his most impressive rooster-crowing skills.

Okay, so it’s not every day you get a taste of what Harvey waking up the entire farm would be like. But that’s how things went down on a recent episode, when a member of the Badillo family mixed her words up mere seconds after the Family Feud host joked about language differences playing into previous episodes. And while Maria’s intended answer was hilariously benign in its own right, her misspeak was an instant classic that may or may not have been a Freudian slip. Or should we call it a Harvey-ian slip on this show?

For those who were unable to watch, here's how the mix-up played out ahead of Harvey's bird call.

• Steve Harvey: Now, Miss Maria, we've been together. This is the fifth game, so I know, because of our difference in language, I have to do this slow for Miss Maria. We asked 100 men: if you built a love shack, what would you be sure to have in it?
• Maria: A big chicken. [Small pause.] Kitchen. I'm sorry. Kitchen! [Laughs.]

At so many other points in life, mixing up the words "chicken" and "kitchen" would be innocuous and easy to bypass without drawing attention to it, but when it happens in front of Steve Harvey, and the mistake's implication has slightly phallic connections that can be made... Well, it's a recipe for silliness, I'll just say that.

Because after his rooster impression, which was captioned on YouTube (and YouTubeTV) as "imitating cock crowing," Harvey then not-so-subtly dropped in a little more innuendo before seeing that, unsurprisingly, none of the men who were surveyed voiced their need for a big kitchen in their hypothetical love shacks. In the host's loudly spoken words:

Obviously, other answers that were given, and some that were only revealed at the end of the round, fell far more on the purposefully filthy side of things. I do wonder if  Maria meant her answer as like, "a kitchen to have sex in," but then when she said "chicken," she just naturally stopped before saying "a chicken to have sex in," because that would have been weird.

I'm kind of surprised the #1 answer wasn't "a side room that makes one's penis get bigger just by standing there for a few seconds, and also makes one rich and a better father that can cook and stuff." But I can see how there might not be enough space for that on the board. Maybe that's what Maria's kitchen would have been...

For those who may wonder what Steve Harvey's sex moves would be if he had a love shack of his own, he's brought those to the Family Feud stage before as well. And for those in need of a game show moment that's entirely free from double entendres and the like, the host's emotional reunion with an old friend who happened to be in the audience is a nice reprieve.

Family Feud airs weekdays in syndication, with reruns airing all the time in various places, so there's a good chance an episode will be on somewhere right after you finish reading this. 

Family Feud is usually a TV show that includes friendly competition, viral wacky (or not-safe-for-work) answers, and Steve Harvey’s A+ reactions to answers. On occasion, viewers might also see a more emotional moment or two -- some of which see Harvey let his emotions flow. That very thing happened during a recent episode, which saw the game show host pause a game to have an emotional moment with a surprising audience member.

During the installment, the TV personality was conducting the game as per usual, introducing the two teams of contestants. However, someone from the audience immediately got Steve Harvey’s attention as he was kicking things off. As it turned out, a childhood friend of Harvey's was in the crowd, and he was downright overwhelmed at the sight of them. Watch the game show host try to hold back tears amid the warm embrace in the video above.

There’s nothing like getting a surprise visit from a longtime friend, and those who've had the experience surely know that it can give you all the feels. Of course, the host kept things professional, but you can't fault him for reacting in such a way after seeing his friend of 61 years, who apparently lived next door to him while they were growing up in Cleveland. Though the bear hug exuded genuine passion, it didn't stop the media mogul from throwing a bit of friendly trash talk his friend's way. Still, it's clear to see that these two are firm friends, and it's always wonderful to see a star who hasn't forgotten their roots.

Though he doesn't shed too many tears on Family Feud, Steve Harvey has shown his tender side on some of his other TV gigs. One of his most emotional moments occurred on his since-cancelled titular talk show, where he cried during a special birthday episode. There’s seriously nothing more heartwarming than seeing the typically wise-cracking comedian get vulnerable with viewers.

As he's gotten older, Steve Harvey certainly hasn't shied away from being real with his fans. For instance, Harvey shared how he knew his wife Marjorie was the one following a tumultuous divorce. He even got sentimental talking about the last email he received from late Full House star Bob Saget and was sentimental when explaining that he shares the same birthday as late TV icon Betty White. Harvey’s proven time and time again that he’s just as thoughtful as he is funny, and I wouldn't mind seeing even more sweet moments from him, like his recent reunion, on future episodes of the award-winning game show.

Steve Harvey has been one of America’s favorite comedians and talk show hosts for many years now. He has hosted his own day time show, is a Family Feud staple, and even infamously hosted the Miss Universe Pageant. He's created quite a name for himself and, now, his daughter has too. Lori Harvey has dipped her toe into the modeling industry and even graced the cover of Essence magazine. The talk show host recently shared how his daughter is handling life in the spotlight around the same time that she's gone public with her new boyfriend.

Steve Harvey appeared on The Today Show, where he opened up about his life, and the trials and tribulations he went through to get to the place he is now in his career. He also commented on his daughter’s romantic life and shared how she’s been coping with her newfound fame and attention. He said: 

It’s so sweet that the media personality is so endlessly supportive of his daughter and trusts her to have control over her life and image. He's hilariously commented on his daughter’s love life before, but he seems especially earnest. She clearly has a lot to navigate and, by the sound of it, she has a great support system to help her through the tough times. Her dad also seems incredibly proud of her, which is adorable. 

The sentiments coincide with Lori Harvey debuting her new relationship with actor Damson Idris. The British star is best known for his role in FX’s Snowfall and his memorable appearance on Netflix’s Black Mirror. Idris posted a cute photo on his Instagram stories to confirm their newfound love, and they look happier than ever:

This new relationship comes months after the model’s public split from Creed actor Michael B. Jordan. The couple started dating in November of 2020 and sadly broke up in June of 2022. The socialite is still open to love as proved by her newfound beau, and has her parents’ 15-year relationship to look to as a model for her love life. Harvey has also said she’s learned a lot from her past relationships, including how to spot red flags, which I’m sure is guiding her through her new romance -- which her dad surely is keeping an eye on himself.

While contestants on shows like Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy! likely don’t want to make embarrassing mistakes in front of those shows’ hosts like Pat Sajak and Ken Jennings, it’s a whole different ball game where Family Feud is concerned. Like no other game show host out there, Steve Harvey absolutely loves to troll derpy contestants and their awkward, revealing, and/or NSFW guesses. And it’s hardly a rarity, especially as the questions being posed have become all the more salacious in nature. Though the subject matter is watered down a bit for star-studded eps of Celebrity Family Feud, there’s definitely still room for regrettable answers, as talk show host Sherri Shepherd is all too aware. 

Steve Harvey stopped by as a guest on Sherri this week, where things quickly and hilariously took a downward turn for Shepherd after Family Feud came up, as he ranked her among the worst celebrity contestants to ever take the stage. Which, even said in jest, is something of a slap in the face, given just how terrible some of the celebrity contestants have been in recent years. (And yeah, I’m looking right at you, Boyz II Men’s Shawn Stockman.) 

As Sherri Shepherd was in the midst of thanking Harvey for having her family on the primetime telecast, the comedian stopped her from continuing, laughing as he said:

At this point, he shared the clip from Shepherd’s Celebrity Family Feud ep against Ian Ziering, in which her very first response during the Face Off set things off. (Note that the uppercase letters are very much indicative of how loudly she voiced her answer.)

• Steve: Name something a lady cop might do to her husband in the bedroom.
• Sherri: CUT HIS PENIS OFF!!!

Understandably, that answer had everyone in the studio more than a little stunned, and it was just as fun to see Harvey and Shepherd’s reactions to seeing the clip again. After the video, the Feud host questioned Shepherd’s instincts with a magnificently logical observation.

To her credit, the Sherri star attempted to blame her nervousness for why she shared such a wild answer, but Harvey wasn’t having any of it, saying he knew her too well, and that it was definitely personal. She even tried sweet-talking her way back to his good side, saying she’d love to be invited back, and that she bought the home edition. To which Harvey told her she could play the game at her house. Presumably without any cutlery nearby.

Celebrity Family Feud, which capped off its most recent season with an extended episode featuring the Jackass cast, was renewed for a ninth season by ABC this week. Steve Harvey wears multiple hats – game show host, TV litigator, and daytime talk show host – just to name a few. But another area of expertise Harvey doesn’t flex as much is that of a relationship expert. Of course, most viewers know he authored the best-selling relationship book Act Like a Lady, Think Like a Man, which spawned a romantic comedy franchise fresh off its tenth anniversary. The book was then translated into an advice segment on his daytime talk show Steve on Watch. So, giving dating advice through a book or on TV is nothing new for the television personality. However, he recently gave some dating advice he shared with his daughters that sparked some interesting thoughts from fans.

The Family Feud host posted a recent advice segment from his daily show on his Instagram account. A female audience member asked Harvey what she needed to do to secure a second date with her suitors. After listening to her question, the comedian revealed he told his daughters to “let him see what he can get but make him imagine what he can have.” See the full advice from the TV host gave the young lady in the video clip below.

I think Harvey came from a genuine place with his fatherly advice. He was just trying to help the audience member as a single woman. The TV star wanted to see her get the best from her dating life. Of course, the young lady understood and took in his advice. While she accepted the dating advice, his followers took issue with it. One commenter disagreed with trying to make suitors want a second date:

If someone is into their date, they’ll immediately want another one. Another follower echoed the sentiment by mentioning the young lady’s dates might not be into her.

Moving on to the next one might be the best thing for the young lady. Another replier kept the same energy by advising the audience member against going on another date with someone who isn’t into her.

One follower mentioned the female audience member should just be herself. They reminded her that dating isn’t a numbers game.

While some commentators didn’t care for Harvey’s dating advice, others were more confused than frustrated. One commenter got straight to the point by replying:

This follower wasn’t the only one who didn’t understand the host’s dating advice. Another commentator wanted the Judge Steve Harvey host to explain his advice in more detail.

Confusion wasn’t the only thing the Steve Harvey Show star faced from his comment section. Some followers decided to take a jab at his daughter Lori Harvey’s breakup with her ex-boyfriend Michael B. Jordan, posting:

Another follower couldn’t believe the young lady was listening to the TV host. Of course, they had to bring up the Black Panther: Wakanda Forever star.

Hopefully, Steve Harvey and his followers will get past this little disagreement. Harvey likely won’t be too worried about the discourse given his full schedule. One day, perhaps not too far in the future, there will be a streaming TV channel that’s entirely dedicated to Steve Harvey’s over-the-top Family Feud reactions and contestant-trolling fun, perhaps with a sub-focus on the host’s increasingly dapper appearance. Until that happens, though, we’ll just have to continue enjoying them the old-fashioned way, which is exactly what we’re doing right now, as the past week provided not just one, but two episodes featuring the same contestant delivering gobsmacking answers that left Harvey reeling. 

The Dumb Answer 

Life is full of moments where we don’t necessarily think about what we’re going to say before blurting things out, but that instinct should always be honed and at the ready ahead of appearing on national television. Unfortunately, it doesn’t look like Family Feud contestant Kwane ever got that particular memo, as he produced an answer worthy of a Tex Avery-esque double take, as well as a long shelf life online alongside other viral show clips. Check it out in the video below:

For those who weren’t able to watch, the survey question posed to 100 people was to “Name something you might get in trouble for doing at a nude beach.” The Murphy family started off strong, with the first answer of “having sex” landing the top spot. (Under the euphemism “pickling the pastrami,” no less.) But when it came time to follow that up, Kwane confidently offered up a dunderheaded response that made Steve respectfully request the contestant repeat the exact same answer after hearing the question repeated back to him. And his answer, for the record, was:

 To the surprise of no one, even Kwane himself, that answer sparked a big ol’ red X. To his credit, he said he missed the word “nude” when it was said, even though I’m pretty sure that’s exactly what inspired him to say “nude” in his answer. It might be simple, but it still ranks up there with some of the dumbest answers delivered on this long-running series. (For another example, check out Boyz II Men’s snafu on Celebrity Family Feud.) But that wasn’t exactly the only time one of his misguided guesses knocked the Family Feud host for a loop. 

The Shady AF Answer

Three cheers for the Murphy family pulling off the victory, because that meant viewers could bear witness to another hilarious moment involving Kwane sharing an answer that Steve Harvey never would have anticipated. While the topic itself wasn’t necessarily of a risqué nature, the tone took a sudden shift into skeezy and morally wavering waters once he answered. Check that clip out below. 

In this case, the question was about unhappy husbands, and what they’d want to guarantee ownership of after filing for divorce. While others soon after gave proper answers such as “car” and “house” and the kinds of things most people consider when the topic of divorce comes up, Kwane’s first instinct was to present this hypothetical marriage as being torn up by infidelity, as he answered with: 

And once more, Steve Harvey was taken aback to the point where more repeating was needed, only this time he made Kwane say his answer a second time. And also once more, the contestant looked sheepish as all get-out after putting his subconscious out there for the world to see like that. He probably should have just copped to being too late with his answer, slowly walking back to his family without making eye contact with anyone.

The Family Feud social media team clearly knew they had a gold mine with Kwane, because they even gave this particular clip the spotlight for one of the show’s “Shorts” videos, as seen below.

Anyone who manages to make it onto Family Feud, from movie stars to YouTube celebs to unknown randos, is equipped with the possibility of making host Steve Harvey lose his shit, but too few contestants use those metaphorical lemons to make hilarious lemonade. Okay, so it could go down every round and STILL not happen enough, since Harvey’s reactions are consistently priceless. Such was the case when one family found it a bit “ruff” to logically answer a dog-centric survey question, which led Harvey to not only show off his high-pitch-screaming skills, but also abandon his question card in a fit of laughter. 

Without further ado(g), check out the video below, in which the Phillips family provides a roller coaster of answers that bounce from “Good” to “Bad” to “Do You Know How Dogs Communicate?” And note that it’s around the 2:15 mark that the clip reaches its card-tossing apex.

To be fair, the Family Feud writers went out on a pretty specific limb when coming up with “Name a word starting with the letter S that dogs seem to understand.” But then on the flip side, it did take the Phillips family five guesses to reach the most obvious canine command of all: to sit. What they did arrive at first, were the wrong answers “shampoo” and  “scream.” The latter inspired Harvey to shriek ever so loudly, showing off how ludicrous a guess it was. (It was on the opposite end of the aural spectrum from those sex-miming moves he showed off in a prior episode.) But then also making it seem like the host might be able to tap into sound frequencies as high-end as a dog whistle. So maybe there’s something there… 

But I think we can all agree the least functional answer given was Mamie’s particularly random guess of “Sergeant,” which instantly drew laughs out of Harvey, who had to walk away from the Phillips family to collect himself, while tossing his card away in the process.

Bless her heart, Mamie did follow up her initial guess by reasoning that “Sergeant” would be the dog’s name, which doesn’t seem like an insane explanation, though it falls back on an assumption that all dogs are named “Sergeant,” which strays a bit further out from the sanity of it all. Any way you look at it, there wasn’t any legitimate shot that her guess was going to be on the board, and nobody knew that more than the in-hysterics Steve Harvey. 

Though he may not have genuinely approved of Mamie’s ridiculous guess, you know what the game show icon does give his approval stamp to? Kids who have mastered the art of Steve Harvey cosplay. So anyone aiming to get on Family Feud in the future should keep that in mind.

Around this time of year, many schools around the country are quick to embrace various dress-up days, with themes tied to Homecoming activities and  team spirit days for football season, not to mention embracing the spirit of the season with Halloween costume days. It can be a challenge for students and parents alike to come up with unique ideas, but there are a couple of families who did not have a problem with that. Parents shared photos of their kids going off to school dressed as Steve Harvey, and they got the attention of the Family Feud host himself.

Hats off to these parents for thinking of the always-fashionable comedian as inspiration for their children’s dress-up day. Steve Harvey must have been impressed, as well, because he celebrated these students’ amazing pics by sharing them to his Instagram Stories. Check out this stylish look: 

That bald cap and signature Steve Harvey mustache really complete the ensemble of this girl’s Spirit Week costume, and I’ve got to shout out the shoes as well. Just in case there were any questions to her identity, she carried the Family Feud board game — a great choice.

While Steve Harvey may be a rare pick for costume inspiration, the Miss Universe host found another example of someone dressing as him for Career/Costume Day. Check him out:

The youngster is looking mighty dapper in his suit, and I appreciate the paisley shirt that speaks to the style icon. I would have loved to see either of the kids break out in the brighter colors that the host loves so much, but I guess mom and dad might not have a bright orange suit handy, which I am willing to give them a pass on. 

Because honestly, who better to serve as your inspiration for Career Day than one of the hardest-working men in the entertainment industry? Steve Harvey is known for his hustle — as well as Family Feud he also hosts the Celebrity and African versions of the game show, Miss Universe, a national radio program and Judge Steve Harvey. He’s said in the past that his struggles early in his career have led him to commit to so many jobs. 

The comedian has said he was homeless when he broke into Hollywood, and even after he found success with his comedy career, both through sell-out stand-up comedy shows and acting, he got screwed out of $22 million when he was robbed by his accountant. There are certainly a number of lessons to be learned from Steve Harvey that school teachers just aren't available to share. But even if these parents were inspired solely because the Family Feud host makes them laugh with his hilarious reactions and viral game show moments, and not because of his inspirational story, I’m still not mad at them. 

These two parents can’t be the only one drawing ideas from Steve Harvey’s eclectic wardrobe this Halloween, so I’ll be keeping my eye out for some fashionable trick-or-treaters. Judge Steve Harvey will return for a second season on ABC in 2023, and you can check your local listings to see when to catch him on Family Feud. 

Celebrity Family Feud wrapped up its eighth season on September 22, pitting members of the cast of Jackass against each other for an hour of shocking — yes, I mean that literally — entertainment. Even if audiences went into the episode expecting antics, their hopes were likely exceeded, as the consistently funny host Steve Harvey joined with the masochistic stunt performers for absolute comedy gold. 

Whereas the celebrity version of the game show usually features two games with four different teams of famous faces to fill the 60 minutes, just one game was played in this finale, with six members on each team rather than the typical five. It was quickly apparent why this cast in particular couldn’t be squeezed into a 30-minute slot, and the viewers were the beneficiaries of a truly laugh-out-loud hour of television. Here are 7 of the funniest moments from Celebrity Family Feud’s season finale featuring the cast of Jackass: 

1. Steve Harvey’s Reaction To Twinning With Johnny Knoxville 

The shenanigans started right away, as the always dapper Steve Harvey strutted onto the stage in a maroon suit jacket with black shirt, tie and shoes… which just so happened to be the exact same outfit that Johnny Knoxville was wearing. The host barely got through the introduction, as he kept looking back at the contestant, and finally went to hilariously address their twinning ways. Harvey told Knoxville: 

While the crew were unanimous in the sentiment that Steve Harvey wore it better, the host remained impressed, continuing to comment on their matchy matchy suits for the first portion of the episode. You can check out the introduction in the video above. 

2. Steve Harvey Explains Why You Don’t Want To Fight ‘Old Dudes’  

When introducing both teams, the Jackass cast informed the host that Jasper Dolphin and his dad Dark Shark sparred so often that they needed boxing gloves, which prompted Steve Harvey to school the 31-year-old son in why he, in fact, did NOT want to throw hands with his father. He explained: 

Now, I have never heard anybody threaten to bite someone in their hair, and Steve Harvey’s whole spiel had me howling. Watch the full exchange for yourself in the above video at around the 8 minute mark.  

3. Johnny Knoxville Tases His Teammates For Stupid Answers 

Teams on Family Feud usually present a united front, and even for the most boneheaded of answers, family members will still clap and shout out, “Good answer!” like they’re trying to speak it into existence. Johnny Knoxville doesn’t play that way. After Dave England got a strike for what was deemed “a terrible answer,” Knoxville lunged at him, tasing his teammate in the chest! Check it out in the above video just after the 3 minute mark. 

The taser remained a threat for the rest of the game, but in case you question the fairness of Johnny Knoxville wielding all the power, just know that he later tased himself over his own stupid response.

4. The Host Trolls Zach Holmes For Not Even Trying 

Just like the members of the respective teams on Family Feud, Steve Harvey is generally pretty supportive of those trying to come up with answers. Sure, he’ll throw a mean side-eye at some of the more off-the-wall responses, and he knows exactly what makes these answers go viral. But rarely does the host come down as hard as he did on Zach Holmes, who stared blankly ahead until he was buzzed with a strike. Harvey lamented:

Zach Holmes wasn’t on Johnny Knoxville’s team, but maybe he was still rendered speechless at the threat of being tased, as his own teammates lobbied for Knoxville to hand the weapon over after Holmes remained mum. You can watch it go down at the 2:30 mark above. 

5. Wee Man Got A Shocking Surprise During His Face-Off 

Wee Man seemed to suspect something was coming, as he stood front and center for his face-off question. He learned the hard way that Johnny Knoxville’s taser wasn’t the only shocker of the night, because when Steve Harvey started to read the question, a surge of electricity went through the gray block that Wee Man had his hand on, causing him to shout in pain. Suffice it to say that nobody else put their hand on the gray blocks for the remainder of the episode. See the electrifying moment at the beginning of the video above.

6. Steve Harvey’s Primal Scream Over ‘Monkey In A Loincloth’ Response 

“If Tarzan were a magician, he might pull a ‘blank’ out of his loincloth.” Like so many questions on Family Feud, this one just invites trouble, and as we’d come to realize with this group, trouble is no problem. While the responses of “banana,” “Jane” and even “ball” were funny enough, it was Dark Shark’s initial response of “monkey” that sent Steve Harvey over the edge. 

Some of the comedian’s funniest moments on the show have come when Steve Harvey acts out a contestant’s answer, so you knew something good was coming when the host joked about needing to get the monkey out of his loincloth. He emitted the most hysterical shriek, which you should witness for yourself, just past the 1 minute mark in the clip above. 

7. The Host Gets Real About Team Knoxville’s Performance 

Ahead of the final round before Fast Money, Johnny Knoxville’s team had failed to procure any points. Steve Harvey, still on fire after calling out Zach Holmes for his lack of effort, proceeded to lay out the dire situation Team Knoxville faced as they prepared to attempt a steal, thus forcing Sudden Death. The host explained they had one shot to extend the game, before exclaiming: 

I’d like to know how many people would be in support of incorporating a taser into all future episodes of Family Feud. It definitely seemed to serve as motivation! Steve Harvey’s pep talk starts just before 3 minutes in the video above.

These moments were the ones I thought were the highlights of the season finale, but if you’ve got a Hulu subscription, I’d encourage you to just go watch the full episode, because it was nonstop laughs from beginning to end. When a Family Feud contestant can inspire a surprised laugh and interesting reaction from Steve Harvey, it’s a game show badge of honor. But when someone can cause the styling and profiling host to throw down his question cards, thank the Lord, and then engage in a hilariously overlong display of silent sex miming, complete with a faux orgasm? Well, that person deserves a seat at the table of legendary game show contestants such as Jeopardy!’s biggest earners, and hopefully that’s what happened after just such a ridiculous moment went down during a recent episode. My man Chris may not have won millions of dollars, but his efforts transcended such worldly measurements. 

Upon watching the clip below, you might expect to hear the family-heading contestant Chris say something completely R-rated or outlandish in order to spark such a physical reaction from Steve Harvey, but that’s not even the case. Check out the clip below, and skip to the 2-minute mark if you want to get straight to goods.

The survey question, for those who weren’t able to watch, was “Name a way a woman is like a roller coaster ride.” And after some good and bad early answers from both families — “She’s up and down,” being a good one, and the completely vague “Nookie, Steve,” being a bad one — the Pittard family had a last shot to steal the board and win the game. And the family patriarch Chris offered up the game-winning answer by saying: 

And that was all she wrote for Harvey, who was immediately amused, perhaps in part by the all-out sincerity on display with his answer. In his mind, he probably thought he was saying the most practical answer possible, and he was right in that respect, seeing as how the Pittards stole the points and went on to play Fast Money. But the true victory here came (pun intended) when the esteemed Family Feud host completely let loose with his support for Chris’ guess. 

Harvey kicked off his sex-mimicking one man show after sharing the following sentiment: 

Then the fireworks truly started when Harvey started gyrating and pumping those hips. It started off with a somewhat deadpan approach, but as everyone in the studio started going bananas with laughter, he upped the performance ante. (Those polished AF shoes brought their own flavor to it.) And then, as it goes, the sex-miming capped off with the stand-up comedian’s exaggerated O-face, which can be experienced here in perpetuity.

Note that this is on the opposite end of the reaction spectrum from that time a Family Feud contestant’s guess hinged on the notion that men should be neutered like dogs. Steve Harvey might never stop silently screaming over that one.

Just when you thought it was safe to end your weekend without hearing Shmigadoon star and musical genius Kristin Chenoweth getting bleeped on TV for saying a word that only sounds like the deepest, darkest part of the human anatomy, Celebrity Family Feud was like, “Nuh uh, it’s happening.” The latest episode of ABC’s primetime game show may not have seemed like it would immediately dive into the gutter with its first survey question, with Chenoweth’s family facing off against Kathy Najimy and her squad, but as Family Feud fans have seen time and time again, it only takes a single second for things to fly off the rails.

As seen in the chef’s-kiss video clip below, the first face-off began with an instant classic moment, as Steve Harvey asked Kristin Chenoweth and Kathy Najimy to name a favorite part of the man’s body to kiss, besides the lips. Check it out!

Just so everyone is aware, Kristin Chenoweth’s answer was, “Rhymes with heinous,” as confirmed by the video’s description on Celebrity Family Feud’s YouTube page. And no, there aren’t any cutesy nicknames for other, less NSFW body parts that rhyme with heinous, so she was 100% referring to the anus. 

To be clear, there’s no shaming or judgment involved here when it comes to the actual act in question, since everyone is free to do and love whatever they please. Where there IS a bit of judgment is that Chenoweth went THERE so very quickly without even giving Steve Harvey the time to settle into the episode. Nobody expects butthole references until at LEAST the second question, Kristin!

Actually, I also kind of want to judge ABC for bleeping the word “heinous” there, since I don’t really understand why “anus” would be bleeped in the first place. It’s not like she said “a man’s goddamned asshole.” It’d be one thing if this was Sesame Street’s parody of Celebrity Family Feud or something, but this franchise has long been known for ramping up the sexualized survey questions, and any question related to body parts was obviously meant to fuel some naughty responses. Although now I kinda want all future contestants to start rhyming their more shocking replies.

With his signature CFF style and swagger on display in full, thanks to that eye-popping purple jacket, Steve Harvey didn’t even immediately dive in on Chenoweth. He waited until after Najimy’s answer hit the board before poking fun at the Wicked vet for calling herself a good Christian after alluding to an act that rhymes with “rimblob.”

Harvey has spoken in the past about how the most viral Celebrity Family Feud moments are spawned from pure unadulterated ignorance, though I don’t quite think Kristin Chenoweth’s answer falls so squarely within those parameters. Which doesn’t mean I do know exactly how to describe her first instinct, but I think “hilarious” works just fine. 

The actress also offered up another baffling response as a bookend during the Fast Money round, When asked to “Name a word that starts with ego-,” Chenoweth replied with this string of sounds:

Perhaps unsurprisingly, no one else who was surveyed answered “elphaba,” for that or any other questions in Family Feud history.

Steve Harvey and Will Smith can both relate to public backlash after a televised event went awry based on their actions. After Chris Rock made a joke about Jada Pinkett-Smith’s appearance at the 94th Academy Awards, Will Smith slapped him in front of the Academy and all of those watching. Harvey, who’s made errors himself on television with the mistaken Miss Universe winner fiasco, has shared his thoughts on what he thinks of Will Smith’s apology video to Chris Rock.

It’s been four months since the Oscars controversy occurred and Will Smith’s career has been facing many repercussions like resigning from the Academy, with two of his upcoming movies receiving setbacks and also being banned for ten years by the Academy. Steve Harvey shared on the Steve Harvey Morning Show podcast episode “Suge Smith’s Ripple Effect” about the public outrage that can come from one action seen by the masses.

The Family Feud host continued to say that Will Smith ruined the Oscars for a lot of people that night such as the executive producers, the hosts that would present for the rest of the night, and his own Oscar winning moment for Best Actor. Instead of focusing on the honors that everyone came home with that night, the slap was the moment everyone talked about more. 

While the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air star has never faced public backlash before, Steve Harvey has been no stranger to it. He couldn’t help but bring up in his podcast the time he made a public error being the host of Miss Universe when he declared the wrong winner. He screwed up when he misread the card that he thought read Miss Colombia as the winner when she was really the runner-up. While this mistake did not stop him from continuing to host the beauty pageant competition, it was still a talked-about moment followed by roasts on Miss Universe the year after that and again was referenced when Tyra Banks made a similar live TV snafu while hosting Dancing With the Stars. Harvey continued to say on the podcast episode about how a controversial moment does not always escape you.

On the other hand, this 65-year-old comedian was brave enough to confront Miss Colombia a month after the incident where her crown and sash were snatched from her live on TV after it was revealed Miss Philippines was the real winner. Despite the humiliation she was still feeling about the incident, Harvey still brought her to his show and apologized to her. Even though it took Will Smith a lot longer to apologize to Chris Rock, the American television host did give him credit for not only apologizing in the video, but to his mother as well who had a strong reaction to what happened. He also felt it was a plus that Will Smith chose not to apologize on his wife’s talk show Red Table Talk and preferred the video to be personal with just him talking to the camera. Harvey understood why the Best Actor winner felt the need to go away to India on his spiritual journey away from the chaos that followed him.

Steve Harvey concluded his podcast episode by talking about the importance of bouncing back from controversy. That he is not the type to hold people to their mistakes as he’s made mistakes himself. While Chris Rock reportedly may not be ready just yet to confront the I, Robot star on being slapped, Steve Harvey forgave him as he would want the same treatment in return. As if Steve Harvey didn’t have enough ridiculousness to deal with just by hosting daily episodes of the syndicated version of Family Feud, the hugely popular game show is also in the midst of the sixth season of its primetime outing Celebrity Family Feud. (And if you think celebrities are better at avoiding mega-fails, the latest ep featuring Boyz II Men is proof otherwise.) On top of all that, not to mention all the antics on Judge Steve Harvey, he also serves as the frontman for the non-domestic iteration Family Feud Africa, which is currently in its second season, and it’s clear he has just as much of a good time abroad as he does filming in the States. Especially when it comes to contestants offering up dark and morose responses to survey questions.

Check out the first Family Feud Africa clip on display below, in which the female contestant Aluve drops a dead serious (or not) answer that Steve Harvey seemed to appreciate more and more with each second that passed.

For those who weren’t able to watch, the 100 people surveyed were asked to “Name a public place where people spend a lot of time lying down.” While your instincts might immediately go to such places as hospitals, hotels, and massage parlors, the lovely Aluve metaphorically pointed beyond the outfield, Babe Ruth style, and delivered a home run of a guess with “The morgue.” So good. I love a good Family Feud moment that folds in on itself, especially in cases that aren’t deliberately crafted to provoke wildly sexual answers. And things could have certainly gone there, considering “lying down” was right there already.

Even though the clip didn’t actually show whether or not “morgue” was on the board — presumably with some weirdly casual rewording like Corpses R Us — I think we can all agree that the Njokweni family deserved the win for that one. If only Family Feud was dictated purely by the kind of logic that Steve Harvey displayed with this follow-up comment:

It just goes to show that it doesn’t take very much for Family Feud contestants to bring the mood to hilariously dark places in no time at all. What could possibly be darker than the inside of a closed casket six feet under the surface? Family Feud contestant: "My butt, Steve, since that's where the sun don't shine."

Often, part of the fun in watching Family Feud revolves around rooting for one of the two families to win big during the Fast Money round, with or without completely ludicrous guesses. Things can definitely become a bit more schadenfreude-esque when it comes to Celebrity Family Feud, however. What can I say? Watching famous people make silly mistakes makes for endlessly watchable TV, especially when Steve Harvey is around to help drive home just how ridiculous those mistakes are. Such was the case for the July 31 episode of CFF, specifically the game featuring comedian and talk show host Amber Ruffin vs. the iconic R&B group Boyz II Men, which delivered one of the primetime spinoff’s most hilarious and unforgettable Fast Money rounds yet. 

Fans should absolutely check out the Celebrity Family Feud video clip below without reading too deeply into what screw-ups were made, and how detrimental they were. Enjoy!

By all means, the Boyz II Men squad were good to go into the Fast Money round with confidence, considering their efforts during the earlier rounds paid off. But it seems like maybe group members Wanya Morris and Shawn Stockman temporarily dumped out some of their common sense ahead of taking center stage alongside Steve Harvey, as they both hilariously botched an extremely easy question that legitimately kept them from winning the $20,000 prize for their charity, the Diamond Derby Barnstable Brown Diabetes Center.

For those who didn’t watch, the fifth question for the Fast Money Round was:

As many people likely surmised quickly enough, the only two months with five letters in them are March and April. But both Wanya Morris and Shawn Stockman apparently had it on good information from somewhere inside their respective brains that “July” and “August” were both equally good guesses, despite neither one of them being five letters long. I mean, August does have five letters in it, if we’re answering lateral thinking brain teaser puzzles. (How many people are buried in a cemetery? All of them.) But it doesn’t appear as if anyone surveyed for Celebrity Family Feud’s questions were on that same page, since both of those answers earned goose eggs and buzzers.

And it wasn’t just that both Boyz II Men members guessed wrong that made this clip so glorious. It’s the fact that they were nine points away from victory going into Stockman’s fourth answer, for which he guessed “butter” as something that people put on the top of their oatmeal. Nobody else agreed with that culinary decision, which cemented the team’s overall loss, but that just gave Steve Harvey a chance to truly drag that inevitability out and rib Stockman as hard as possible, sending the singer to the floor in good-natured embarrassment. (Hey, at least he didn’t start dancing about it.) As Harvey put it: 

Unfortunately, the rules of reality weren’t broken that day, and Boyz II Men did not walk away with all the money. But I’d be willing to bet the ten grand they did win that nobody in that group ever forgets how many letters are in every single month’s name.

Family Feud has been a TV staple for decades now, and some could argue that the game show is more popular than ever right now. This is largely due to the work of current host Steve Harvey, who’s held the position since 2010. One of the things that’s made his tenure so entertaining is the array of (sometimes outrageous) guesses that contestants give while playing the game. In some cases, these people end up going viral, joining a truly special group of FF alums in the process. This, of course, doesn’t happen to everyone, and Harvey has now shared the secret behind getting one’s answer to go viral on the Celebrity iteration of the show.

There are plenty of ways to get notoriety on the web. You can perform a death-defying stunt, which is recorded and sent to the Internet. Or you can even partake in a charitable effort that catches social media’s attention. However, anyone appearing on Celebrity Family Feud who hopes to find fame online just needs to do one thing, according to Steve Harvey. The host humorously says that one must give the most ignorant answer they can muster:

Based on what viewers have seen over the years, this advice tracks. Educated guesses and slightly off-base responses don’t typically make it to the show’s social media channels. It’s the mind-blowingly painful and just plain dumb answers that make the cut. In other words, you want to be as far from the correct response as possible in order to go viral, and that’s a point that Steve Harvey doubled down on later in his interview with People:

And there have certainly been some "interesting" moments on Celebrity Family Feud over the years. Sherri Shepherd once gave a surprising answer when naming something “something a lady cop might do to her husband in the bedroom.” Real Housewives alums also lit up Celebrity FF with a host of incorrect answers. And if you can believe it, years ago, Snoop Dogg lost a category that was all about marijuana. These moments can definitely leave you scratching your head, but they sure do make for fun and entertaining TV.

Of course, let's not forget that epic fails don't just happen with celebrity guests. One contestant, for example, once gave a series of morbid answers after being posed with the question of what would grandma tell grandpa not to do in front of the grandchildren. Another situation saw a person offer up terrible answers over and over again while thinking about alternate terms for the word “mother.” 

Obviously, anyone who competes on Family Feud hopes to win the game, though there are probably some who wouldn’t mind giving an outrageously incorrect answer or two in order to go viral. Should that be their desire, they’ll definitely want to take note of Steve Harvey’s insightful and funny comments. May the contestant who can confuse Harvey the most win (or possibly lose, I guess).

It feels like just about every celebrity in Hollywood has had something to say about Will Smith slapping Chris Rock at this year’s Academy Awards ceremony, at this point. Some have come out in defense of the star, while others have crticized him for striking the noted funnyman. Interestingly, a number of Rock’s fellow comedians, like Steve Harvey and Tiffany Haddish, have provided some particularly strong thoughts on the situation. Now, the daughter of stand-up comedy legend Richard Pryor has weighed in. 

Rain Pryor knows more than most when it comes to the idea of comics speaking their mind on stage. Her dad was considered a trailblazer during his time for employing blunt humor and biting social commentary in his acts. So what did she think about Rock getting slapped after making a joke about Jada Pinkett Smith at the Oscars? Well, the former comedian told the PEOPLE Every Day podcast that she’s met both Rock and Will Smith before, calling them “really good guys.” She did, however, say that she felt sorry for Rock before explaining what she thinks the situation is about:

The Head of State alum drew the ire of Will Smith while he was presenting the award for Best Documentary Feature. During his opening, the comic joked that he was looking forward to seeing Jada Pinkett Smith in a G.I. Jane sequel, referencing her shaved head (a style choice stemming from her alopecia). In the aftermath, Steve Harvey called the slap a “punk” move on Smith’s part and said that he “lost a lot of respect” for him. Fellow comic Jim Carrey mentioned that he was “sickened” by the applause Smith received after winning his Oscar and said that he would’ve sued him had he been slapped. Ricky Gervais has also criticized the situation, saying that there was nothing “nasty” or unflattering about the joke. On the other side of things, Tiffany Haddish voiced her support, saying that it “meant so much” to her to see “a Black man stand up for his wife.” 

Since the incident occured, many within the comedy world have expressed concern about the ramifications that the situation might have moving forward. Some argue that it could set a precedent for others to walk on stage and attack comics mid-performance. Such a situation actually happened when Dave Chappelle was attacked on stage at the Hollywood Bowl, where Chris Rock cracked a joke amid the ordeal. This has seemingly added fuel to the argument that comedians are steadily being “silenced” as part of cancel culture. During the same interview, Rain Pryor shared her thoughts on that notion as well:

Many might agree that comics must tread lightly when discussing certain topics. However, others would argue that it’s their job to adapt to the times and produce material that doesn’t come off as being fueled by malice. This is a complex discussion and one that’ll likely persist for the foreseeable future. 

Still, Rain Pryor does share some reasonable thoughts here and makes note of one key point: comedy won’t end with Will Smith’s Oscars slap. The art form will go on, as performers attempt to live up to the legacies of her famous father and others that came before them.

Lori Harvey may have gone through a recent breakup, ending her relationship with Michael B. Jordan after over a year together, but that’s not stopping her from celebrating love in other capacities. Her parents Marjorie — who had some strong opinions about the aforementioned split — and Steve Harvey recently celebrated 15 years of marriage, and after the Family Feud host honored his wife with a glowing love letter that lauded her skills as a mother and thanked her for getting “in that foxhole” with him, Lori also showed her support with a sweet tribute to her father.

On Instagram Stories, Lori Harvey shared a photo of her parents looking at each other lovingly, featuring a portion of the letter that Steve Harvey wrote to Marjorie to honor their years together. Check out Lori’s post:

She was the chick for him! Steve Harvey’s words were part of a long letter he wrote (published in Good Housekeeping) that recounted how the couple had lost touch after their initial spark, but came back together nearly two decades later when “the stars aligned for us at the right moment.” He said that his wife foresaw all of the success he would have, and taught him how to listen, and that he looks to her as an example. In his words:

That is seriously the sweetest thing ever. Lori Harvey must have thought so, too, since she shared some of the words with her followers. And it’s not just her mother who's been the beneficiary of Steve Harvey’s loyalty. 

Because while he may be known best for his hilarious reactions to Family Feud contestants, or even his unintentionally amusing hosting highlights like his Miss Universe flubs, Steve Harvey was genuinely sincere in the way he showed up for his daughter in the aftermath of her recent breakup. As rumors began to swirl about Lori Harvey and Michael B. Jordan ending their relationship, the Celebrity Family Feud host proclaimed loud and proud on The Steve Harvey Morning Show that he was “Team Lori 1,000%.” 

He still did give some grace to his daughter’s ex-boyfriend, who Harvey said in the past is a “very respectful” man, and admitted it’s hard to be young and successful and hold down a relationship — a sentiment he also got honest about on Judge Steve Harvey — and he wished that all involved would be able walk away at peace. He also had a gentle warning for anybody listening: “As long as you don't put your hands on my daughter, I don't give a damn what you do.”

Their 15th wedding anniversary wasn’t the first time Steve Harvey has publicly complimented his most significant other, Marjorie Harvey. Back in December, he shared a heartwarming story about always wanting a huge Christmas tree when he was a kid, and making a promise to God that if he ever had the means to do it, he would put up a tree as big as the ones in the mall every year. His wife, he said, is the one who makes sure that jolt of Christmas spirits gets injected to their house each holiday season.

For a year and a half, Lori Harvey and Michael B. Jordan were among the most popular couples, and everything seemed to be going splendidly for them. Back in January, Harvey shared what the key to success in their relationship was, and even just a few weeks ago, Jordan posted a short, but sweet comment complimenting Harvey’s Disney princess look for the Cannes opening ceremony. However, we learned days ago that Harvey and Jordan are no longer together, and Harvey’s mom had posted a cryptic message seemingly in response to the breakup.

Marjorie Harvey, who married Steve Harvey back in 2007 (he also adopted all three of her children) posted the following video message on her Instagram Stories (via E! News), and while she didn’t outright name anybody, keep in mind this came just days after Lori Harvey and Michael B. Jordan’s breakup was made public:

Assuming this is indeed about Lori Harvey and Michael B. Jordan breaking up, then it sounds like Marjorie Harvey is supportive of her daughter’s decision to no longer date the Black Panther actor. Frankly, a comment like that indicates that Marjorie Harvey either was not a big fan of Jordan whatsoever, or at the very least that she didn’t like the way Lori Harvey’s latest romantic relationship was going. Either way, it’s understandable why she’d feel things have now improved for this aspect of her daughter’s life.

Interestingly, when Steve Harvey commented on Lori Harvey and Michael B. Jordan’s breakup earlier this week, he indicated that things ended amicably between them. The Family Feud host also made it clear he’s “Team Lori 1,000%,” but acknowledged that “it's hard to be young and in the limelight and have a successful relationship.” And Lori Harvey and Jordan may have ended their relationship on good terms with one another, they’re reportedly “completely heartbroken.”

So why did Lori Harvey and Michael B. Jordan break up in the first place? While neither of them has publicly commented on what went down, allegedly these two were at different places in their lives, with Jordan wanting to take their relationship to the next step, while Harvey was not ready for that level of commitment. Since then, Harvey has deleted all traces of Jordan on her social media accounts, while Jordan was seen attending Game 2 of the 2022 NBA Finals in San Francisco, though an eyewitness who spoke to E! News said that the actor “wasn't his usual excited self.”

Just a few weeks ago, it appeared as though Lori Harvey and Creed star Michael B. Jordan were still one of pop culture’s most adorable couples, with the latter complimenting the former’s Disney-esque look at the Cannes Film Festival opening red carpet. However, over the weekend, it was rumored that Harvey and Jordan had broken up. Now Steve Harvey, Lori Harvey’s father, has confirmed that these two are indeed no longer together, and given his opinion on what happened.

The Family Feud host addressed Lori Harvey and Michael B. Jordan’s breakup on the June 6th episode of The Steve Harvey Morning Show, at first giving a serious take on this romantic journey coming to an end, and then cracking jokes about it. With regard to the former, Steve Harvey said the following:

Lori Harvey and Michael B. Jordan began dating in November 2020, with the two enjoying plenty of good times together (including workouts). Early last May, Steve Harvey described Jordan as a “very respectful” guy, and said that he was “cheering” for the Black Panther actor and his daughter. Alas, thing ultimately didn’t end up working out with them romantically, although they reportedly “still love each other.”

After seriously commenting on Lori Harvey and Michael B. Jordan breaking up after roughly a year and half together, Steve Harvey joked about how they managed to romantically separate without any financial complications, something he wasn’t able to avoid with his two divorces. In Harvey’s words:

As far as why Lori Harvey and Michael B. Jordan are going their separate ways, while nether have publicly commented on the breakup, according to an unnamed source, Jordan “matured a lot over the course of their relationship and was ready to commit for the long term.” He subsequently “let down his guard for the first time in a romantic relationship,” and it’s possible that she wasn’t ready to take things that far with him. Whatever the specific reasoning was, at least these two have apparently parted on good terms rather than on a bad note involving busted windows.

If Lori Harvey and/or Michael B. Jordan publicly comment on the breakup, we’ll pass along what they have to say. In the meantime, Jordan fans can look forward to him reprising Adonis Creed in Creed III. Along with his acting duties, Jordan also directed the movie, which will open on November 23 as part of the 2022 movie releases lineup.

The 2022 Oscars was something to remember. There were some legendary wins, such as Ariana DeBose’s historic accolade or CODA receiving Best Picture. But nothing was quite talked about more than the slap that was heard around the world. That’s right, I’m talking about Will Smith defending his wife, Jada Pinkett-Smith, after Chris Rock made fun of her alopecia on stage that night, when he walked up to him and slapped the comedian straight across the face.

The response from the world has been mixed, to say the least, with some agreeing with what Smith did and others, not so much, and this comes from those in Hollywood, as well. From people who have co-starred with Smith, or were friends with Rock, to people who just wanted to share their opinion on the matter, here are nine celebrities and how they felt about that infamous slap. 

Steve Harvey

Steve Harvey is known for his fun TV hosting skills and creating some viral moments on Family Feud, and he decided to comment on the incident, calling it a “punk move” on Smith’s part, during a speaking engagement that happened at Georgia State University, via Deadline. Commenting on his nature as a Christian and how he personally feels, he said:

Whoopi Goldberg

Whoopi Goldberg has made her name in Hollywood by appearing in many movies and drawing eyes to The View, where she’s acted as a moderator for several years now. But, like everyone else, she also commented on the slap, saying that “nobody is OK” with what occurred, while on The View:

Kareem Abdul-Jabbar

Likewise, famous NBA all-star, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar (who actually guest-starred on The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air way back when alongside Smith) went online to express his thoughts on the matter, but did so in his own personal essay on Substack. You can read Abdul-Jabbar's full statement there, but he did talk about how it was so inappropriate for Smith to do what he did, and how it paints not only the entertainment industry but the Black community in a bad light:  

Nicki Minaj

Nicki Minaj is known for her numerous contributions to the music industry, specifically in the rap genre as a Black female artist, but on Twitter the night of the Oscars slap, she offered her thoughts on the matter, and agreed with what Smith did, saying that you have to think of it from his perspective:

Next up, we have Tim Allen, a comedic actor known for many great movie roles, who, while he wasn’t in attendance at the ceremony, wanted to express his thoughts on the manner on Twitter as well, commending Rock’s way of handling the situation and condemning what Smith did:

Tiffany Haddish has been making a name for herself in Hollywood over the last several years with appearances in several movies and TV shows, and she took the time out of her day to comment on the incident to People Magazine, defending Smith and saying it was “the most beautiful thing” she’s seen:

Conan O’Brien

Comedians from all over were standing by Chris Rock after what happened, but one who decided to make a little bit of a joke out of the whole incident was Conan O’Brien. The former late-night talk show host, who hosted his TBS show, Conan, until 2021, simply released this statement about the Oscars slap on Twitter:

I would have loved to see O’Brien's take on it during an hour of late night.

Sophia Bush

Last but not least, Sophia Bush of the One Tree Hill cast fame, also condemned Smith’s actions on Twitter, but was also not completely on Rock’s side either, saying that both parties were in the wrong:  

While I doubt we’re going to get as big of a moment as this one at the Oscars again for some time, we truly won’t ever forget this - and I’m sure those in Hollywood won’t forget it either. 

At this point, it feels like just about everyone has had something to say about Will Smith’s Oscars slap. Celebrities ranging from Jim Carrey to Zoë Kravitz have responded since Smith slapped Chris Rock at the 94th Academy Awards. Responses to the situation have varied, with some chastising the Best Actor winner and others coming to his defense. Steve Harvey has become one of the latest to share thoughts and did so while speaking at an Atlanta law school. 

The media personality was giving a keynote address at Georgia State University, where he discussed various topics with law students. Those who watch and listen to the Family Feud staple know that he rarely minces words when speaking on a subject, and this was the case when he weighed in on Will Smith’s actions at the awards ceremony. Putting himself in the shoes of fellow comedian Chris Rock, the radio host explained that he would’ve reacted differently had he been slapped:

The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air alum slapped Chris Rock after the comedian made a joke about his wife, Jada Pinkett Smith. Rock specifically said that he was looking forward to seeing Pinkett Smith headline a G.I. Jane sequel, a reference to the actress’ now-bald head (a result of alopecia). Rock, who declined to press charges, has yet to speak in depth about the situation, though he has mentioned it in some offhanded ways during his stand-up gigs. The King Richard star has since formally apologized and has been banned from the Academy for a decade as punishment.

Many have provided their own thoughts on why Will Smith decided on that course of action. According to The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Steve Harvey went on to say that he believes Smith did it because he knew he could get away with it in the moment. Harvey referred to the slap as a “punk” move and added that he “lost a lot of respect for [Smith].”

Other stars have been a bit blunter when discussing the situation. Jim Carrey said he was “sickened” by the fact that the Bad Boys alum still received a standing ovation when accepting his Oscar. Carrey also declared that he would’ve sued the actor for $200 million. Someone who also found it “sickening” was Academy Awards host Wanda Sykes, who said that she’d wanted to respond on stage. 

On the other side of the fence is Fresh Prince alum Janet Hubert, who said that she was “proud” of her former co-star. While she stated that both his and Chris Rock’s actions were “incorrect,” she believed that the comic shouldn't have made a joke at Jada Pinkett Smith’s expense. Denzel Washington, who took Will Smith aside during the Oscars, also seemed to question whether the public could truly judge the actor for what he did. 

Although many stars have weighed in at this point, it seems many veteran comedians like Steve Harvey have particularly strong thoughts. This is mainly due to the implications that they believe the Academy Awards incident could have on stand-up shows moving forward. (Dave Chappelle was recently attacked while on stage.) With that in mind, it wouldn’t be surprising if more comics join Harvey in getting candid about the now-infamous slap as time goes on.

Out of all the boyfriends Lori Harvey has brought home her stepdad Steve Harvey seemingly has a favorite… and his name is Michael B. Jordan. The television personality seemed as smitten with the Creed III director as his stepdaughter even mulling over whether the lovebirds would walk down the aisle anytime soon. That’s quite different from when the longtime Family Feud host was suspicious of the actor’s intentions at the beginning of the couple’s relationship. So things must be serious. After Jordan and Harvey’s first year of coupledom, the television personality shared an update on their relationship.

The comedian gave his take on the budding relationship while being interviewed by E! News. Of course, speaking about his youngest daughter brought out his inner papa bear when asked if he has any relationship advice for the Hollywood star. In typical Steve Harvey fashion, the sitcom vet had a hilarious yet serious response, saying,

Thankfully, the Hollywood vet is a hands-off dad when it comes to his children’s relationships compared to some overbearing ones. Like any growing relationship, his daughter and the actor need to learn more about each other on their terms and time. The youngest Harvey daughter already cited the Judge Steve Harvey arbitrator and her mother as the blueprint for her year-old romance. Communication is important in Harvey and Jordan’s relationship from what she observed in her parent’s relationship. Despite his non-advice for the young couple, he wants them to succeed as fans do.

The Black Panther actor and the comedian have developed quite a relationship outside of his daughter. Their fluent rapport was obvious as Jordan interviewed Harvey for Paper Magazine where he was honest about his TV persona is only one side of himself. That was major development after Steve Harvey initially tried finding reasons to hate the movie star. Of course, he and his wife knowing the Without Remorse actor’s parents beforehand may have made the relationship more acceptable in his eyes.

Even though the rising power couple remains private about their romance, they do give fans little peeks here and there. Recently, the younger Harvey spilled about a time when the former Sexiest Man Alive teased her about her workout routine. Let’s just say he learned Pilates isn’t as easy as it seems… the hard way. He gained more respect for his girlfriend’s fitness routine after that day.

But the duo is still going strong despite their increasingly busy schedules. Of course, Jordan has been spotted around Venice Beach shooting his directorial debut Creed III while his lady builds her lifestyle and beauty brand.

The older Harvey stays busy in his own right between his daily talk show, Family Feud, and Judge Steve Harvey, which was renewed for a second season.
