As a tennis player, I wasn’t planning to watch The Dink on the 2026 movie schedule. The very noise the pickleball makes is obnoxious enough to deter me, and there are myriad articles on the Internet about why tennis players get frustrated having to share courts with casual picklers. I won’t get into those in depth, except to say that despite loving Jake Johnson, I wasn’t that enthusiastic about the new comedy flick. But then the reviews dropped.

Can I say I’ve changed my mind? Yes, yes I have. This week a bunch of journalists shared their opinions, and they make some compelling arguments. For instance, Kristy Puchko of Mashable says in her review of The Dink that director Josh Greenbaum — who’s also helming the upcoming Spaceballs sequel — combines wacky humor with physical comedy, resulting in a laugh-out-loud yet heartwarming crowdpleaser. Jake Johnson and Mary Steenburgen have crackling chemistry and sublime comedic timing, she says, continuing:

Travis Hopson of Punch Drunk Critics says Josh Greenbaum keeps The Dink just grounded enough to deliver a charming message in a sports comedy that “scores more than it hits the net.” In the critic's words:

OK, let’s not get carried away here. I said I’d watch the movie, not fully jump ship. But if anybody’s mind is going to be changed, Brian Tallerico of RogerEbert seems to think Jake Johnson and Mary Steenburgen might be the ones to pull it off. Johnson’s Dusty is the right mix of ego and vulnerability, while Steenburgen’s Candace is effortlessly charming. The critic rates The Dink 3 out of 4 stars, writing:

Matt Schimkowitz of AV Club gives it a B in his review of The Dink, writing that this Apple TV movie isn’t trying to be Challengers. However, its leisurely action, low-lift laughs and enthusiastic cast allow it to “hit hard with light taps.” The critic says:

Lindsey Bahr of the AP says the grounded and goofy humor, coupled with eccentric characters and some fun cameos, add up to make this quite an enjoyable watch. She rates it 2.5 out of 4, writing:

Look, The Dink sounds like it’s actually pretty good, and another quality outing for those with an Apple TV subscription. My co-worker Heidi Venable loved it. So, I humbly submit I will bow down to the pickleball gods, give it a watch this weekend, and try to keep my judgy personal opinions to myself.

Spoiler alert! This story reveals the results of The Ultimatum Season 4, including the finale and reunion, which can now be streamed with a Netflix subscription.

The Ultimatum: Marry or Move On Season 4 has wrapped, and as far as partner-swapping Netflix reality shows go, I found it quite underwhelming. Nobody fully bought into the trial marriage portion of the experience, and several cast members were problematic or obnoxious to the point that they were hard to root for. The season finale hit the 2026 TV schedule this week and was severely lacking drama with its way-too-predictable ending. Thankfully, Nick Lachey came through in the reunion with a move that saved it for me.

It Was Obvious That Every Season 4 Couple Would Get Engaged

With no cast member catching feelings for anyone else on The Ultimatum Season 4, it was pretty clear that all four original couples were going to get engaged at the end — regardless of whether or not that was a healthy choice. Blake Robertson proposed to Hayley Hendrich despite their continued fights throughout their trial marriage, as did Killian Grondin and Ashley Wilson, who never stopped talking during their weeks apart.

It was extra discouraging to watch, because days before the finale aired, news broke that Blake Robertson was arrested in October 2025, per TMZ, on accusations of assaulting Hayley Hendrich. She chose not to press charges, and the case was dismissed with all records expunged. Page Six reports that Robertson has denied all abuse allegations and said his actions were in “self-defense,” but either way, an incident like that zaps all the fun out of your TV love story.

Add to that a complete lack of suspense regarding the fates of the other three couples involved, and I found myself struggling to keep my focus on the screen.

Nick Lachey Singing ‘I Do (Cherish You)’ Was The Highlight Of The Ultimatum’s Finale And Reunion

Just like The Ultimatum Season 4 finale was predictable, I wasn’t surprised that only two couples remained together when the reunion was filmed a year later — Casey Douglass and David Atkinson were still betrothed, as were Monica Payne and Luke Wesselhoff.

However, I can’t say that I expected Casey to ask Nick Lachey to officiate a legal ceremony for them, right then and there. The Ultimatum’s host is ordained to perform marriages in California, and Casey and David needed to be legally married in the United States before their Italian nuptials in September.

It wasn’t just that Nick Lachey performed the ceremony — a simple but sweet vow exchange — that roped me back into the show. It struck me just how cool it would be to have the singer of 98 Degrees officiate your wedding. Like, this is the dude who sang “I Do (Cherish You)” in the glorious TRL days when I was a lovesick high-schooler. Was this man really going to perform an actual wedding and not sing the iconic song?

I was aghast as the couple officially became husband and wife without Nick Lachey’s musical accompaniment … but then there was the bouquet toss. As Casey Douglass prepared to designate the next bride-to-be, the 98 Degrees frontman broke into an a capella version of “I Do (Cherish You),” certainly making Casey and David’s big day complete.

It was a really cute moment, because honestly, how many people can say they were serenaded with that song on their wedding day — by Nick Lachey himself? I’m not sure it made up for all of my issues with the dating show, but it did leave me on quite the unexpected high.

After years of waiting, we finally got a teaser for the third season of The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power, and it was filled with lots of characters and stories I’ve been waiting to see. However, it also inspired something within me, as I realized I want two characters who will surely play a big part in this fight against Sauron to form an “uneasy alliance” when the series returns on the 2026 TV schedule.

As you can see above, this trailer shows us Sauron forging “one ring to rule them all” and his armies going after Galadriel and many other important characters. We also get a good look at Gandalf (who found his name at the end of Season 2) and our first look at Galadriel’s love, Celeborn (who is played by Stranger Things’ Jamie Campbell Bower). Overall, it’s epic, and it’s inspiring a whole lot of theories and questions.

It’s also made me realize a dream I have: I’m desperate to see Galadriel and Gandalf work together. And I really hope it happens when Rings of Power premieres.

Up to this point in Rings of Power, we’ve seen Daniel Weyman’s Gandalf interact with Nori and the other Harfoots. Last season, he also shared some moments with Tom Bombadil. However, he has not spent time with any of the elves, dwarves or men in the series. I feel like that could all change in Season 3.

In the trailer, we see him having a conversation with The Dark Wizard:

• The Dark Wizard: Middle-earth will burn.
• Gandalf: Has it not yet occurred to you? Death might well be the price of saving it.

To me, this implies that the wizard will find himself and finally be thrust into the greater battle going on in Rings of Power. And I hope he does that by working with Morfydd Clark’s Galadriel.

In the teaser, we see her reunite with Celeborn, and it seems they’re on their own journey to take down Sauron. Personally, I’m hoping it will involve Gandalf.

The synopsis of this footage notes that Sauron’s quest will cause “new, and sometimes uneasy alliances to be formed to try and stop him.”

Considering Gandalf has only just found his powers and his name, I’d imagine he hasn’t fully harnessed them yet. And overall, he’s still a fairly mysterious figure in Middle-earth. Plus, during a conversation with Deadline last year, Weyman said he was excited to explore his character’s “plethora of possible pitfalls, errors and failings.” He went on to say that his wizard has to mess up royally to become the wise man we know in The Lord of the Rings movies and books. That seems like fertile ground for an “uneasy alliance,” and maybe one of those could be with Galadriel.

She’s right in the center of the fight against Sauron. Plus, she’s found herself in some precarious and uneasy alliances before – with her partnership with Halbrand going sideways in Season 1 when it was revealed he was Sauron, and her alliance with Adar proving to be quite useful (but dangerous) last season. So, I’d love to see her in another uneasy alliance, but this time, it’d be with an actually good character who is simply still figuring himself and his power out.

Plus, we know Galadriel and Gandalf become friends and work closely together, so it’d be amazing to see the origins of their relationship in this show.

Now, to see if this happens, you’ll be able to stream the first four episodes of The Rings of Power’s third season on November 11 with an Amazon Prime subscription.

As someone who got into the Dungeon Crawler Carl series by listening to the audiobooks, I'm not even remotely surprised to see so many positive reactions to the news out of Comic-Con this week that Jeff Hays would be voicing the role of Princess Donut for the book-to-screen adaptation.

As the narrator of all eight (so far) Dungeon Crawler Carl audiobooks, Hays does an outstanding job, particularly in the way he shifts from one voice to the next. I think it would've been a bit of a challenge to adjust to a new voice behind the beloved feline when the TV adaptation debuts, so I'm glad we won't have to. From her tone to her style of speaking and huffy reactions, Hays brings so much personality to Donut. It's a good sign that he's being included for the Dungeon Crawler Carl TV show, which will be available at some point for people with a Peacock subscription.

Can He Voice The AI Too?

Beyond the excited reactions I've seen around social media about Hays voicing Donut, I've also seen people mentioning another role they hope he'll voice. To be clear, no other roles have been cast for Dungeon Crawler Carl, but there are some fans still holding out hope that Hays will also voice the role of the system AI. This "character' in the book is responsible for announcing Neewww Achievements, loot boxes, warnings and other rules Carl and the other characters need to be aware of throughout the "game" they're playing. Like so many other characters in the DCC audiobooks, the AI's voice is distinct and full of personality (for better or cringy worse), and it'd be hard to get used to another voice behind it.

Seth MacFarlane And Alan Tudyk Are Other Great Suggestions I've Seen

Jeff Hays isn't the only name I've seen mentioned by fans online when talking about voicing the AI. With Seth MacFarlane on board as a producer, it's not a stretch to wonder if he'll provide a voice or appear on screen, and some fans think he'd be a great option for the AI. Alan Tudyk is another fantastic suggestion, given how many of his best performances involve his skill at voice acting. I've seen fans bring his name up when discussing casting for Mordecai too. Really, there are a lot of fun character options for Tudyk, if he's interested and in consideration for the series.

Obviously, fans have a lot of ideas and hopes for these roles, but as I said, nothing official has been announced for anyone, apart from Hays voicing Donut.

WARNING: We Don't Even Know How AI Will Appear In The DCC Series

I just want to throw this out there because I've been thinking about it, and it occurred to me that the AI is a DCC character with a bit more wiggle room for the adaptation than most. The AI appears primarily as text in the book, but is that how the show plans to depict it? They could include flashes of text boxes with audio to deliver the AI's updates and warnings, but is it possible that they'll develop the character to be an actual on-screen presence? Someone who pops in to provide updates rather than having them be text only?

I'm not saying this would be a better option than text on screen with a voice reading it, but how to bring the AI to the screen is presumably among the creative decisions that need to be made. Cost could factor in, especially when we consider the likely abundance of visual effects that will be necessary to bring this wild story to life.

At the end of the day, I just hope they do whatever works best to bring the character into the TV show and ideally maintain all of its personality and weirdness. Yes, that includes the creepy way it talks about Carl's feet.

We'll have to wait and see what updates come out. Fans are obviously excited to know who will be playing Donut's co-lead, Carl in the TV series, and there are so many other roles that need to be cast. It's going to be exciting to see what updates pop up as the series continues to be developed.

Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon have made their mark on the entertainment industry with The Morning Show, as women taking a stand both in front of the camera, starring as fictional TV hosts, and behind it as executive producers of the series. So it’s not surprising that the impending end of one of Apple TV’s best original series drew mixed emotions from the pair. There were both tears and laughter after they wrapped The Morning Show Season 5.

The actresses — who first met when they played sisters on Friends back in 2000 — confirmed this week that Season 5 will be The Morning Show’s last. That announcement came alongside images and videos from behind the scenes that show both the love amongst the cast and the bevy of emotions that come with closing this chapter. Jennifer Aniston wrote on Instagram that she was “laughing and crying,” posting:

The first image of Reese Witherspoon caught in the middle of a huge, open-mouthed laugh seems to show how much fun these two could have, while the next slide shows how much they all care about each other.

Mark Duplass holds both Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon in a hug as they appear to cry, kissing each on their heads. In a statement confirming the TV show’s cancellation, Aniston said they’d all become such a family. She said:

It apparently didn’t come as a surprise that this would be The Morning Show’s final season, so hopefully that allows them to bring each character’s narrative to a satisfying end.

Reese Witherspoon also shared an emotional Instagram post — a video that included some big hugs with Jennifer Aniston, a good bit of her dancing and a peek at some of the incoming Season 5 cast. Check it out:

In addition to plenty of familiar faces, Reese Witherspoon’s video showed glimpses of Reneé Rapp and Lizzy Caplan, who are joining The Morning Show’s final season along with Jeff Daniels, Jesse Williams, Sean Hayes and more. In her own statement, Witherspoon — who celebrated her 50th birthday this year — said working on the drama series was “the honor of a lifetime”:

Joining Reese Witherspoon and Jennifer Aniston for one more round of storylines pulled from real-world headlines are Billy Crudup, Mark Duplass, Nestor Carbonell, Karen Pittman, Nicole Beharie and Jon Hamm. Unfortunately, Greta Lee appears to really be gone after we saw Stella’s career ruined by an AI chatbot in Season 4.

The Morning Show Season 5 won’t be ready in time to make the 2026 TV schedule, so pull up your Apple TV subscription and make sure you’re caught up to watch the final season when it premieres in 2027.

Stuart Fails To Save The Universe got off to a hot start, bringing back a major character from The Big Bang Theory only to kill him off later. Raj Koothrappali made his big return to the 2026 TV schedule, though he was a lot different than fans may remember, and he died quickly. While that was shocking, I am thrilled about the doors it potentially opens.

Stuart was on a mission to save the universe after it was thrust upon him by another version of himself from the same universe as where The Big Bang Theory takes place. For all intents and purposes, this Stuart is largely the same as the one fans remember, minus the fact that everyone here lived in a post-apocalyptic wasteland that had giant moths and other fearsome creatures. Here's how the first leg of the adventure played out, and what it sets the stage for in future episodes.

How Raj Died On Stuart Fails To Save The Universe

Stuart and friends crossed paths with Raj when they were taken captive in an effort to try to fix the universe. They learned the universe was broken thanks to a quantum device built by Leonard, Sheldon, and Howard, and Raj believed he had a way to fix it. They just had to find the device, but there was one major obstacle in their way.

Barry Kripke, the jerk character from The Big Bang Theory, had seized power when the world collapsed and was now a dictator over the Pasadena area. The world had gone to hell, but as far as he was concerned, it was fantastic. As such, he didn't want to change things and was hellbent on preventing anything that may change the status quo.

This led us to the episode's end, in which Raj, Bert, and Stuart found the quantum device. Raj got to work trying to fix it, but before he could make too much progress, he was shot in the back by Kripke. He died, but Stuart, Bert, and Kripke jumped to another reality in which the circumstances are presumably as off the wall as what we saw in the trailer.

There Are, Presumably, Plenty Of Other Versions Of Raj (And Other Beloved Characters) In The Multiverse

Raj is dead, but as we've learned in the best superhero movies, no one is truly dead in the multiverse. There are, presumably, other versions of Raj, just as there are other versions of everyone else.

So, his death opens the door to the characters seeing him again, and maybe seeing some other wild cameos from people from The Big Bang Theory cast as well. After all, if you can kill, transform, or change versions of these people with little to no permanent consequences, the sky's the limit on the wild things the writers can do to these characters.

It's one of the reasons I love Stuart Fails To Save The Universe more than The Big Bang Theory. I feel like the door has been enthusiastically swung open for even more actors we know and love to show up and act out these crazy and shocking storylines, and then come back again for another.

However, it's not the only reason I am here for this show. I also love how this episode made Bert Kibbler look super cool, as he created homemade grenades to blow Kripke's minions up.

On that note, I do wonder how Bert and Stuart will be able to move forward with Kripke, who they just witnessed kill a friend in cold blood. I'm not sure I'd trust him on this mission, as he wasn't exactly a stand-up guy before the apocalypse either. Then again, people change, and anything is possible in the multiverse, so maybe he'll surprise everyone as the series continues.

Stuart Fails To Save The Universe continues on HBO Max with new episodes showing up on Thursdays. Continue to stick with the series as they explore this brave new universe they were sucked into, and wait for more potential cameos from people from The Big Bang Theory.

I’ve been a big fan of watching Alan Ritchson’s Reacher with my Amazon Prime Video subscription since Season 1. In fact, it’s probably (now) my second favorite show on Amazon, and of course I’m also excited for the Neagley spinoff. However, in recent days we did get a new announcement about the upcoming 2026 TV series that has me a little concerned. Hear me out.

Previously, Reacher Had Been A Winter TV Show

For its first three seasons, Reacher was a winter TV show, premiering after the holiday season. It hasn’t had the exact same trajectory, however, premiering in February during Season 1 and 3 and in December for Season 2. It’s not like the show premieres exactly at the same time every year, but prior to this it had not been attempting to compete with network TV’s fall lineups.

Instead, it was doing its own thing during wintertime and premiering at times where it would not directly compete with network TV. Primetime is basically off the air in December. Reacher was essentially competing with the likes of soon-to-air Christmas movies in Season 2. In Seasons 1 and 3, while audiences have been trained to tune in for winter premieres, those are frequently in January. February is a month where people don’t like to get out and the shiny newness of returning network TV has dulled a bit. In short, the winter has been very good to Reacher.

Everything is changing with Season 4, however, and that also directly impacts the Neagley spinoff, which does have me concerned. It all has to do with Amazon Prime completely shifting its airing strategy for both Reacher and its spinoff.

Neagley Is Going To Have To Compete With Fall TV

Reacher Season 4 is coming, and soon. While I’ve been excited with Alan Ritchson calling it the “best” one yet, it’s not getting its traditional wintertime release. Instead, the powers that be have pushed Reacher to the summer, with Neagley following right after.

It was Maria Sten who broke the news on social last week, and who has said in general a Neagley spinoff is very much needed. The way the structure looks right now?

• Reacher Season 4 will run from August 12-September 16th
• Neagley will drop in full on September 16th

This has its pros and cons, and I’m not fully mad at every choice Amazon has made here. First, I like that Amazon is wrapping Reacher’s finale onto the same date as Neagley Season 1. Secondly, given we don’t know fully if audiences will embrace Neagley as an extension of the Ritchson-led series, I don’t think it’s necessarily a poor choice to drop all of the spinoff episodes at once, at least for Season 1. (They can always talk about spacing Season 2 out if it becomes a megahit.)

I just don’t understand why the streamer is shifting the series up so it’s butting up against fall TV. Right now, for example, my appointment TV viewing is nearly wide open. I just finished The Five-Star Weekend (and want more!) and House of the Dragon is airing on Sunday nights, but I’m mostly just rewatching old seasons of Survivor with my Paramount Plus subscription.

That’s going to change drastically when fall TV comes back and I watch everything from game shows like The Floor and newcomer The Traitors: New Blood to dramas, sitcoms and even cable fodder like South Park, which actually drops on the same day as Neagley. Heck, even Monday Night Football kicks off on September 14th, just two days before Neagley hits. My fall TV dance card gets full fast.

Sure, some network TV doesn’t hit the schedule until October now, which gives the show a bit more of a window than it might’ve had a few years ago, and this new Reacher and Neagley schedule won’t deter me from watching personally, but I still have concerns about whether it's the best choice. Winter was Reacher’s. It could have been Neagley’s thing, too. That schedule worked great for me and other TV viewers, and I just don’t get why they’ve changed a format that was already working well.

I do hope it pays off, and I hope it pays off in blood and violence. Just kidding. Sort of.

Star Trek: Strange New Worlds just premiered on the 2026 TV schedule, but the fun doesn't stop there. That's what stars Rebecca Romijn and Anson Mount believe, anyway, as the two stars and childhood fans of the franchise have me convinced we'll be watching new franchise entries via Paramount+ subscription before too long.

Before Rebecca Romijn moves on to reprise her role as Mystique in the Marvel universe, I had a chance to speak to her and Mount ahead of the Season 4 premiere of Strange New Worlds, which is currently streaming on Paramount+. When I asked the stars whether they could say anything to ease the minds of fans worried about what's next for Star Trek, seeing as no shows are in active development, she said this:

In no way does she sound worried about the future of Star Trek, and feels confident it'll still be around years from now, and as she mentioned above, it'll continue to be relevant to new generations.

Anson Mount agreed, and dropped a fact that blew my mind in the process. He couldn't claim it as his own, but I appreciated him passing it along during the interview all the same:

Translation: Star Trek is as American as apple pie. Perhaps more so, because apple pie actually originated in England. I guess the math does check out that if America is celebrating its 250th birthday, and Trek its 60th, that is somewhere in the ballpark of 25%.

Rebecca Romijn and Anson Mount's thoughts echo those of other prominent names of Star Trek, many of whom don't believe it will ever fully go away. I tend to agree, especially with Paramount still making efforts to bring it back to the big screen with a movie on the big screen.

Star Trek will continue, but I think there are solid fears from fans about how it will continue. How long will fans have to wait for a new television series, and who will be put in charge of making it happen? As it stands, it seems the company is ready to move on from Alex Kurtzman running its television department, leaving the door open for fresh blood to take the reins. Kurtzman did tell CinemaBlend a while back that fans shouldn't fear this transition period, merely because there's just so much Paramount has to tackle to complete its merger with Warner Bros. Discovery.

All this to say, it doesn't sound like anyone in charge is worried about Star Trek ending. So we'll continue to play the waiting game and remain optimistic that positive updates on the franchise are on the way. Beyond that, watch Star Trek: Strange New Worlds Season 4 on Paramount+ with new episodes streaming on Thursdays!

Even though Clayface’s chilling new trailer has held the bulk of my recent attention, I’m still beyond pumped for the upcoming DC TV show Lanterns as the official next entry in the live-action DCU. Especially now that we’re less than a month away from seeing Kyle Chandler’s Hal Jordan suited up and investigating a mysterious murder alongside Aaron Pierre’s John Stewart. Lots of questions still remain, however, with comic book sorta-villain Sinestro at the heart of many.

In the new series streaming via HBO Max subscription, Sinestro (played by Ulrich Thomsen) is a former member of the Green Lantern Corps who was corrupted by the fearful energy of yellow light, and was booted from the Corps after a coup gone wrong. But before all of that, he shared a history with Hal Jordan, serving as a friend and mentor, so one can imagine how shaken up Hal was by the betrayal.

Star Kyle Chandler addressed that key relationship and more in an interview with EW. The Friday Night Lights vet is a practical guy, and both he and Aaron Pierre took more grounded approaches to exploring their characters' backstories. Speaking directly about Hal and Sinestro's past, Chandler shared:

It sounds like the actor was being as vague as humanly possible as not to reveal anything too specific, but that isn't stopping me from being beyond excited about it. I wonder if all the "little things" Chandler created for the characters will be explored on-screen, or if they're only in his head to bring more context to his performance.

While viewers don't yet have a clear idea of what Hal was like before things went sour with Sinestro, everything we've seen in Lanterns' previews makes him look overly pompous and lacking in empathy, patience, and several other virtues. Was he always like that, or did that hard-edged nature only start to form after Sinestro embraced fear?

I really hope we get to actually see Hal and Sinestro working together with the Green Lantern Corps in at least one episode. I'm perfectly fine with just hearing about their history through dialogue, but showing is always more functional than just telling.

To that end, I'm also eager to see how much Lanterns will showcase Hal's relationship with Carol Ferris, since she's also been known as a cause for Hal's brusque personality. (Also, is Laura Linney portraying Carol or what?) The fact that we haven't had a clear introduction for her makes me wonder if something awful happened to her, and if Sinestro was possibly responsible for it.

I guess I could spend all day speculating about what might go down when Lanterns arrives, but let's just watch the latest trailer instead.

Fear not, for Lanterns will make its debut on HBO Max on Sunday, August 16.

Amazon first announced Neagley in 2024, and while it’s taken a bit of time to finally make its way onto the 2026 TV schedule, the series officially premieres on September 16. While Frances Neagley has been a stand-out character in Reacher and has proven just how capable she is alongside Alan Ritchson's nomad, it’s clear there's more to explore with the character than the flagship episodes allowed for. So for both fans and Maria Sten, the Neagley spinoff is both needed and welcomed.

What makes Neagley so interesting is the fact that she’s infused with an authentic combination of vulnerability and toughness. She can beat up the worst of the worst villains, take a quiet moment to acknowledge her palpable loneliness, and then follow it all up with a laugh-worthy line that highlights her sense of humor. And Sten herself is the perfect choice to step up as the lead of her own show. Yet somehow, she’s one of the few instances of a Black woman leading an action series. The actress told Entertainment Weekly what that feels like:

With Neagley, Sten is joining the ranks of fellow Black actresses Angela Bassett with 9-1-1 and Sonequa Martin-Green with Boston Blue, and hopefully more to come in the future. The former dancer who was crowned Miss Denmark Universe in 2008 is excited about the opportunity the new series is providing, but there’s also pressure that comes with taking on new responsibility. The tremendous success of Reacher, having already been renewed for Season 5, isn’t something that can ever be predicted, but thankfully it means that we do get to learn more about Neagley and what makes her tick.

Frances Neagley, as well as Maria Sten, is a force of nature, so watching her in action is reason enough to tune in. But having the focus on her means that we’ll get to learn much more about who she is when she’s not with Jack Reacher and how her past has informed her present. We know that Neagley will follow the former military protégé as a P.I. in Chicago, laser-focused on demanding justice when a childhood friend is killed. And as she pursues the truth with her own team of misfits, we’ll get to see what it’s like for her to live with haphephobia, or the fear of touching or being touched. It sounds like the perfect balance of kick-ass action and character development. Sten further explained:

We got some great news recently, as it was announced that “the definitive documentary” about Julie Andrews will be released for those with a Disney+ subscription in 2027. However, many assumed this was very bad news at first, because they thought the post was implying that the iconic actress had died.

To be clear, she’s alive. Fans simply misunderstood the documentary announcement, so let’s break it all down.

Disney+ Announced A New Documentary About Julie Andrews

The documentary about Julie Andrews was announced on July 22 across Disney+’s social media accounts. The post included an image of the actress as well as a statement about the legend she is. Here's what it said:

The project will premiere on the 2027 movie schedule; however, a specific date and title have not been revealed. It’s being produced and directed by R.J. Cutler, who has directed documentaries like Belushi, Billie Eilish: The World’s a Little Blurry and American High.

With this project, we’ll get a look into Andrews’ life as it covers everything from “her early days in British vaudeville to her meteoric rise as a global superstar.” Themes of “resilience, heartbreak, reinvention and enduring grace” will be explored, and the documentary will feature footage and interviews that haven’t been seen before.

Like many, I grew up on Julie Andrews' movies, like The Sound of Music, Mary Poppins and The Princess Diaries. So, I cannot wait to watch this next year. I’m also relieved that the news was about a documentary focused on her, not the much darker news some fans thought it was.

Fans Thought This Julie Andrews Died When They Saw This Post

Like I said, many didn’t get that this post was to announce a documentary at first. In fact, a lot of fans thought the 90-year-old actress had died, and this was a tribute to her. Here are some examples of people reacting to the nonexistent news:

I do get why some thought Andrews had died and this post was a tribute to her. Tributes happen every time a well-known celebrity passes away. For example, right after news broke of Sam Neill’s death, fans, friends, and co-stars were posting tributes for the Jurassic Park star. If the Mary Poppins lead had died, her “courage, resilience, grace” would surely have been acknowledged in tributes.

But she’s not dead; she's alive and working.

She’s been the voice of Lady Whistledown on Bridgerton for four seasons, and I hope she’ll continue to be it for the new Lady Whistledown in Season 5. As showrunner Jess Brownell told CinemaBlend, they “didn’t want to squander the voice of Julie Andrews” after last season. So, I’d assume she’ll be back to tell us all the gossip going around the ton.

Along with that, The Princess Diaries 3 is in the works, and the author of the books said the script she read is “amazing.” So, hopefully said script includes Julie Andrews’ character. I mean, it’d be hard to have Princess Diaries without Clarisse Renaldi.

All this is to say, not only is Julie Andrews alive, there’s still opportunity to see her in new projects, including a documentary all about her life!

Spoilers ahead for Heartstopper Forever.

Every streaming service has some popular hits, and Heartstopper is definitely on that list. Arguably one of the best Netflix shows to binge-watch, the acclaimed book-to-screen adaptation reached its conclusion with the movie Heartstopper Forever, which is out now for those with a Netflix subscription. I was originally bummed that one actor got recast for the movie, but after reading Alice Oseman's final book, Volume 6, I understand it.

Heartstopper Forever reviews have been praising the finale's contents, with fans finally getting a conclusion to Charlie and Nick's story. Oscar winner Olivia Colman played Nick's mother, Sarah Nelson, to perfection in the show's second season, but she was noticeably missing from Season 3. Many fans were hoping she'd show up again in the movie, but the role was recast with actress Anna Maxwell Martin. I've been sore about this for a while, but it made more sense after reading Heartstopper Volume 6.

Olivia Colman Had To Be Recast For Heartstopper Forever

Olivia Colman might have only appeared in ten episodes of Heartstopper, but she definitely made an impression. Nick's coming out scene in Season 2 was one of the most powerful moments of the entire show, and Colman's performance was a big reason why. The character Sarah Nelson was absent for the third season, but was necessary to bring back before the story ended forever. And that became especially clear when reading the source material.

In Heartstopper Volume 6, as well as in Forever, Nick ends up being the one struggling the most with his mental health. As such, it makes sense that he might open up to this mother about what he's dealing with. Additionally, Nick's relationship with both his father and his brother David ends up coming to a head. With so much happening with the character's home life, it would have been odd if Mrs. Nelson never popped up in the new Netflix movie.

So why didn't Olivia Colman get to reprise her role? Unsurprisingly, it was a scheduling conflict, as the 52-year-old actress is in demand and constantly working. Heartstopper Forever was filmed back in the summer of 2025, when the Favourite actress was busy shooting the upcoming romantic fantasy film, Wicker. Given the focus on Nick's psyche and home life in Forever, someone else needed to step in and play the role. And that's exactly what we got with Anna Maxwell Martin.

I read Heartstopper Volume 3 before tuning into Heartstopper Forever, so I was able to go into the Netflix movie enjoying its contents and not being so bitter about Olivia Colman's absence. Nick's mother might not have a huge role in the movie, but Sarah Nelson needed to appear in one way or another... especially since we've reached the conclusion of the beloved TV and book series.

Heartstopper Forever is streaming now on Netflix as part of the 2026 movie release list. While there's no Olivia Colman to be found, it's still worth the watch to see how Charlie, Nick and their friends ended up.

Many consider The Big Bang Theory to be one of the best sitcoms of all time, but that doesn’t automatically mean that every spinoff that continues its characters’ stories will be a hit. Sure, Young Sheldon and Georgie & Mandy's First Marriage found success, but Stuart Fails to Save the Universe — a new HBO Max series that hits the 2026 TV schedule on July 23 — is quite a big swing for creator Chuck Lorre. Despite its creative concept, critics’ reviews disagree on whether or not it’s actually funny.

Stuart Fails to Save the Universe picks up where The Big Bang Theory left off, with the titular comic book store owner (Kevin Sussman, reprising his TBBT role) triggering a multiversal apocalypse. As he tries to set things right, he encounters multiple versions of himself, Denise (Lauren Lapkus) and their friends. CinemaBlend’s own Mick Joest says he was surprised that the show made him laugh out loud multiple times. In fact, he says he loves it even more than The Big Bang Theory, writing:

The Big Bang Theory fans have been promised easter eggs, and Amber Dowling of The Wrap agrees that’s part of what makes Stuart Fails to Save the Universe fun. The critic admits it’s a completely different tone — with more R-rated material — than TBBT that might take some getting used to, but the cast is game for anything and everything, and you can tell everybody — including creators Chuck Lorre, Bill Prady and Zak Penn — are having a blast. Dowling continues:

Alison Herman of Variety says viewers should be firing up their HBO Max subscriptions for Stuart Fails to Save the Universe because it’s such a creative way to extend The Big Bang Theory universe — especially in an entertainment landscape with so many perfunctory prequels, sequels and spinoffs. Herman says:

Noel Murray of AV Club gives the series a B rating, saying the spinoff is wilder and nerdier than TBBT, but it’s also raunchier, cornier and more uneven. Its strengths are its emotional core and wonkiness, but the critic finds it lacking in humor and occasionally mean-spirited. Murray concludes:

Brian Tallerico of RogerEbert also thinks that despite some “glimpses of ingenuity,” the actual Apocalypse will probably be funnier than Stuart Fails to Save the Universe. The jokes are repetitive, the plots are thin (largely clocking in under-20 minutes), and John Ross Bowie’s character Barry Kripke — horny, cruel and mocking people with speech impediments — was already stale when The Big Bang Theory ended seven years ago. In the critic’s words:

Several critics said you don’t have to have watched The Big Bang Theory to get into this new spinoff, though there are guest stars and references that will make more sense if you did. Critics don’t exactly agree on how funny the show is, which is reflected in its 70% Rotten Tomatoes score.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m thrilled that Season 4 of Ted Lasso will follow AFC Richmond’s women's team. I can’t wait to meet a new cast of characters, and I’m looking forward to seeing the new dynamics created among the ensemble when the show returns on the 2026 TV schedule. However, this big update also means not everyone from the original cast could return. It turns out, Jason Sudeikis personally called those actors too to break the sad news to them.

As of right now, actors like Toheeb Jimoh (Sam), Cristo Fernández (Danny), Phil Dunster (Jamie) and more will not be back for Ted Lasso Season 4. All these guys played important members of the AFC Richmond men’s team. However, with the focus shifting over to a whole new team, there wasn’t room to bring them back. Speaking to THR about making this choice, Jason Sudeikis said it was “very difficult” to call the guys and break this news to them. He also explained why it was vital for them to learn this news from him:

I can imagine how hard it must have been to both make and receive that call. For three seasons, this group was not only a team on screen, but off too. They experienced a phenomenon together as they made one of Apple TV’s greatest shows. So, finding out you won’t be returning for Season 4 must have been a hard pill to swallow.

I’m happy, though, that Jason Sudeikis personally called them all. I imagine this news was much easier to process after having a conversation rather than finding out about it online.

However, this is the way television works: casts evolve, stories shift and that causes big changes. In Ted Lasso’s case, this meant bringing in a full new team of female soccer players, and saying so long to the men’s team.

Of course, I’m optimistic the guys could make cameos. I mean, both Brendan Hunt and Brett Goldstein are in Season 4, and the last time we saw Beard and Roy, they were coaching the men. So, I don’t think it’s far-fetched to think we could see someone like Jamie or Danny pop in for a minute or two. However, we do know that no matter what, the guys will not be the regular players they were in Seasons 1 through 3.

Instead, a whole new team of women will be introduced. This new cast of characters will be played by Tanya Reynolds, Jude Mack, Faye Marsay, Rex Hayes, Aisling Sharkey and Abbie Hern. Grant Feely has also joined the cast, and he’ll be taking over the role of Ted’s son, Henry (who was played by Gus Turner in the first three seasons).

The cast is not entirely new, though. As mentioned earlier, Sudeikis will, obviously, be back as Ted, and he’ll be joined by Brett Goldstein and Brendan Hunt, who play his fellow coaches, Roy Kent and Coach Beard. Hannah Waddingham will also return as the team’s owner, Rebecca. Juno Temple and Jeremy Swift will be reprising their roles as Keeley and Higgins, respectively, as well.

So, overall, Ted Lasso will be missing some familiar faces, and as the show’s lead said, it was hard to break that news to them. However, now, we get to enter a new chapter of AFC Richmond’s history with some of the characters we love and a whole new set of folks we get to learn about. To do that (and to spend time with the lads from Seasons 1 through 3), you can stream Ted Lasso with an Apple TV subscription and catch the premiere of Season 4 on August 5.

When the Dutton family parted ways after Yellowstone ended, two new shows were born: Kayce’s CBS spinoff, Marshals, and Rip and Beth’s Paramount+ show, Dutton Ranch. Now, we’re learning more about what it was like to continue these characters’ stories after the flagship show ended. In terms of Rip and Beth’s project, Cole Hauser opened up about why “everything changed” after Yellowstone ended and they started working on this Texas-set show.

Now, Kelly Reilly has shared her thoughts on how Beth changed between Yellowstone and Dutton Ranch. Ed Harris has also shared his grievances about working on the show. Plus, with a change in showrunner after Season 1, it was clear that this production wasn’t all smooth sailing. Cole Hauser also admitted that returning to Rip and his story was a “challenge.” He laid out the reasons why too, telling FilmInside:

Kelly Reilly has also spoken about how not having Taylor Sheridan captaining the spinoff impacted her too. He was the driving force of Yellowstone, so of course, new creatives mean change is bound to happen.

Plus, with the only major returning players being Hauser, Reilly, Finn Little and Christina Alexandra Voros, who has directed episodes for a lot of Sheridan’s shows, including Yellowstone, it’s not like they could work like this was Yellowstone Season 6. No, there was a whole new team they had to collaborate with, which meant they all had to learn how to work together for essentially the first time.

On top of that, over the last few months, there have been reports about alleged tension between the cast and creator/former showrunner Chad Feehan. While we don’t know exactly what led to his departure, it has been alleged that Ed Harris’ complaints about his character and the show had an impact on Feehan’s exit and the hiring of Benjamin Cavell as the showrunner for Season 2.

Alleged drama aside, Hauser did confirm that working with a different team and only having a few returning players made working on Dutton Ranch difficult. However, he still enjoyed his time, and he’s also excited to start working on Season 2. To that point, he said:

We worked our asses off this year. And I don't think a lot of the outside noise or the thought of 'What's the weight of this show?' was really apparent to me at the time. It was about putting my head down and working my ass off with what I had around me, the writers that we had, the new writers that we had. We had to figure out on our feet how to really perform and tell a story. I'm proud of what we accomplished, and I'm looking forward to doing it again.

I’m also looking forward to them doing this again. However, this time, I hope it’s a bit easier for all of them.

I also hope we’ll get to see new episodes sooner rather than later, too. Dutton Ranch was renewed for Season 2 a few weeks before Season 1’s finale, and we know production is set to start in early 2027. So, here’s hoping the cast and crew have an easier time making this series, and we’ll get to see this Yellowstone continuation thrive as it gets back in the saddle for its sophomore season.

Kylie Kelce has made it clear that she hated being asked about Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s wedding; she also hates clickbait, and she’s really not one to say much about her in-laws’ relationship. So, after someone tried to say she was commenting on their wedding, she called them out on her podcast. However, right after that, she also shared her actual thoughts on the pop star and tight end’s ceremony at Madison Square Garden. Considering how little she tends to say about this topic, this statement is extra special.

This statement came after Kylie Kelce called someone out on Not Gonna Lie for recording a conversation she was having with a couple of people about Swift and Travis. She had told them to give her in-laws some time to post photos of the wedding because they’re “in the honeymoon time.” It was then reported that she was commenting on the wedding, but she made it clear she wasn’t. She was saying to give the couple some time to themselves. After clearing the air on all that, she did officially comment on what happened on July 3, saying:

Well, that's just the sweetest comment ever, and it means even more knowing that Kylie only says things about this couple every once in a while.

Of course, we don't have a ton of specific details about the day, and I doubt Kylie Kelce will be divulging them. To prove that point, she went on to say that if people want any more info about what feels like the wedding of the year, they should go directly to the source:

Kylie is not the first person to call the massive wedding “intimate.” Good Morning America’s George Stephanopoulos described it with that word too. So, I’m guessing it really must be true that the couple transformed the space known for massive sporting events and concerts into a magical wedding venue.

At the time of this writing, neither Swift nor Travis Kelce has officially commented on their big day. They did attend Juju Smith-Schuster and Laura Kruk’s wedding the week after their own, and official photos from that did give us a good look at Swift’s wedding ring. Plus, we’ve gotten images of their “So it’s gonna be forever” wedding favors and outfit photos from their guests. We’ve also heard plenty of stories about Adam Sandler officiating and the digital invitations that multiple guests thought were scams.

Currently, Travis and Jason Kelce’s podcast is on a hiatus (which happens every summer), so they haven’t spoken about the wedding on New Heights. However, I have to wonder if they will when it returns. Considering they’ve never really shied away from massive stories about their personal lives, I’d guess they’ll say something about the wedding. Although I’d also assume they’ll keep a lot of the details to themselves, because while Swift and Travis aren’t shy about their relationship, they also are quite private.

So, while we don’t know if the newlyweds will post or say anything about their wedding, we do know that Kylie Kelce will likely not say anything else about it. As she said, “any of the details [her in-laws] want to share, they can share.” However, I do appreciate what she did say about all of this, because it’s rare for her to do something like that.

The first season of Dutton Ranch went about as well as Taylor Sheridan & Co. could have hoped, as far as delivering stellar ratings from the very start, to the point where it was the fifth most-watched show of the 2025-2026 TV season. Behind the scenes, however, things were slightly less than hunky-dory, at least when it comes to esteemed co-star Ed Harris, who spoke harshly about feeling he was misled regarding his character's involvement.

Harris went off on a mini-rant about filming Season 1 of Dutton Ranch while giving an interview for his Apple TV film The Dink, saying he was sold on his character Everett being one of the four leads, and that he'd have major impact on the story. The actor did not feel that promise was delivered on whatsoever, and even though his complaints are only now making headlines, Deadline reports that Harris' dissatisfaction was directly responsible for creator and former showrunner Chad Feehan exiting the drama.

At the time, no details were provided regarding the specifics for why Feehan vacated the series, his second showrunning gig for Taylor Sheridan after Lawman: Bass Reeves. But if it was indeed due to creative differences involving one of the show's most globally renowned stars, I can understand why that was kept from public knowledge.

Though it isn't clear if Harris and Feehan talked their grievances out ahead of the latter's exit, it does seem like the actor took a vested interest in making sure the replacement wouldn't step in and pull something similar. It's reported that he was involved with seeking out and securing Feehan's replacement.

Dutton Ranch's new showrunner is Benjamin Cavell, whose next TV effort will be the second season of MGM+'s upcoming Stephen King adaptation The Institute. He previously developed Paramount+'s The Stand miniseries, and also created the CBS-turned-streaming drama SEAL Team. Though arguably the gig that makes him the best fit for Rip and Beth's world is his seasons writing for Justified.

Cole Hauser previously talked about Ed Harris having a bigger role to play in Season 2, which feels pretty prophetic in hindsight, as far as the actor getting ahead of any potential drama by pointing out Everett's uptick in appearances. Or maybe he was just genuinely excited about working with the Hollywood legend more. Both can be true.

One of the bigger gripes Harris had was about a scene from the premiere episode in which his character was meant to sing a song on stage in a bar. It doesn't sound like he was overwhelmed with excitement about filming it, and in the end, the scene wasn't even used in the final edit. According to Harris:

Perhaps ironically, Ed Harris doesn't necessarily think it's clear after watching the first season of Dutton Ranch that Everett was indeed underused. But that doesn't devalue his experiences during the production. As he put it:

I can't wait to see how Season 2 plays out now, and whether or not Everett will immediately have huge stakes to deal with right out of the gate now that Benajamin Cavell is in the showrunner seat. It likely isn't getting here until 2027, but in the meantime, all of Season 1 can be streamed in full via Paramount+ subscription.

Stargate fans were just reminded that Amazon is trying to bring back the series with another writer after passing on Martin Gero's project, and they're pretty upset. The company is making moves to ensure fans can watch a revival of the series with a Prime Video subscription. However, many fans are seemingly wondering why they're abandoning the latest idea.

It was announced earlier this year that Amazon wouldn't move forward on the Stargate series developed by Gero and would look to bring the series back with someone else, some fans just heard about that bit from a recent piece of reporting from Deadline. In an article about, ironically enough, a Robocop TV reboot being picked up by the aforementioned streamer, this was mentioned lower:

As mentioned, this was known information and alluded to in comments by actor Michael Shanks and others, but it seems this additional mention of it is striking a nerve. The Stargate faithful popped up in the comments and talked about how upset they were to hear Martin Gero wouldn't be involved in the series:

I understand the fans' frustration. Martin Gero has experience rebooting shows and, while his Quantum Leap reboot didn't last long, it was a solid series. Additionally, by the look of it, he had the backing of producers and stars who worked on the series, many of whom now lead the charge to "save" Stargate.

For now, it doesn't seem as though any of these fan-led efforts have had an impact on Amazon's decision. As mentioned, the studio is still looking for someone to take on a revival of Stargate, after passing on the previous pitch. Per the initial news, executives decided the first attempt at a revival only appealed to the die-hard fans of the franchise.

Of course, now, those same diehard fans are campaigning to save that Stargate iteration, which makes me question how effective their efforts will be. Obviously, the appeal of any revival is to try and capture the attention of a pre-existing fandom who will tune in. That said, it seems like that fandom alone was decidedly not enough in Prime Video's eyes, and it wants to try to open the (star) gate a little more to allow a more mainstream audience a chance to jump in.

We'll see if this fan campaign encourages Amazon to reverse course on Stargate, and hopefully, not abandon the idea altogether. I'd love to see any new tentpole sci-fi series on the way, provided it's handled the right way.

After seeing Neagley pop up season after season in Reacher, her own spinoff is finally about to premiere on the 2026 TV schedule. While it will feel like it's in the same universe, and Alan Ritchson will even show up in Neagley, they’re also “fundamentally different” shows. To that point, one of the showrunners explained why this new series is “much deeper” than the flagship series.

With Season 4 of Reacher being released right before Season 1 of Neagley, I can’t stop thinking about the shows' differences and similarities. That feeling was amplified when the showrunners were asked about how their series differs from the Alan Ritchson-led book-to-screen adaptation. Getting specific about a structural difference, showrunner Nick Santora told EW:

One of Reacher’s signature elements is the fact that the cast changes every season, and he moves on to a new place. It’s one of the reasons why I love it so much, as each story stands on its own. It allows us to see Alan Ritchson’s character in a brand new situation every single season, and it's always fun to see how they shake things up. However, it also means we move on fast, and you can’t get deeply invested in anyone other than Reacher and Neagley.

Neagley will be different, because the characters will stick around. That provides an opportunity to get more invested in more than the titular character, as Santora explained:

This is one reason why Neagley is “much deeper” than Reacher. However, the other reason revolves around the fact that as Reacher moves from place to place, he’s motivated by the “gears and springs,” as Santora explained. Neagley, meanwhile, is more complex psychologically:

Now, I don’t think this is a knock on Reacher in the slightest. What makes that show fun is that this guy is constantly moving, and he’s always involved in high-octane action. Meanwhile, it sounds like Neagley will keep its cast of characters around and focus more on what’s going on internally.

Personally, I love that these two Reacher shows will be different, and I’m really excited to see how they complement each other.

So, to see if Neagley is indeed “much deeper” than Reacher, you can catch Season 4 of Reacher (which Alan Ritchson has called the “best season” yet) on August 12. Then after it finishes its run, you’ll be able to stream Season 1 of Neagley with an Amazon Prime subscription on September 16.

Star Trek: Strange New Worlds' Season 4 return amid the 2026 TV schedule is just around the corner, and I've been excited for a while. However, comments from series co-creator Akiva Goldsman already have me nervous for the fifth and final season's run. The producer spoke about the ending of the beloved series and shed some light on the plan that he and the creative team have in place.

Goldsman spoke to TV Insider about charting out Star Trek: Strange New Worlds' endgame, which track with what he told CinemaBlend about SNW about his goals for the finale. The goal is for the series finale to bring us right up to Kirk's first day as Captain of the Enterprise, which means the final season will need to take care of some other things first. He explained below:

It's not anything unexpected, considering we've learned Sulu and Bones have been cast for the final season. However, I do have concerns. Namely, I worry about what this means for the final season and whether this specific direction will lead to the final episodes feeling drastically different from the rest of the series.

Star Trek: Strange New Worlds Has A Lot To Tackle (And Not A Lot Of Time Left To Do It)

Assuming that Season 4 doesn't get a jumpstart on writing off its characters that aren't around in the original Star Trek, Strange New Worlds is going to spend a lot of time handling that in its abbreviated season. There will only be six episodes in Season 5, as that was the number co-creators Akiva Goldsman and Henry Alonso Myers told Paramount+ they needed to close out the show after Season 4.

I worry that's a tight window to work out all the changes needed to make the bridge look like Kirk's Enterprise. But, presumably, the co-creators had a plan.

Will The Need To Resolve Storylines Hurt The Flow Of The Series?

Something Star Trek: Strange New Worlds has thrived on since its debut is great way it balances its characters' story arcs with the "adventure of the week" format. Now, based on what I'm hearing, it almost feels necessary for the series to adapt heavier serialization in order to get to the point where it can set up Kirk's first day on the Enterprise.

It's important to me that Star Trek: Strange New Worlds has a great final season because, quite frankly, a bad final stretch has tainted the legacy of many shows (Trek or otherwise). Let's not forget that when people bring up Enterprise, one of the main elements talked about is how bad the ending is.

If SNW's final season feels like too much of a deviation from what worked before, I fear people will feel like it's less than everything that came before. Granted, the series hasn't steered fans wrong so far, and Season 4 has been largely acclaimed by the cast, who say it's among the best of the series. Whatever was filmed, the series is already wrapped for good, so I guess I just need to have faith (of the heart) that the final season won't be too far off course from what we've seen.

Stuart Fails To Save The Universe may have arrived long after The Big Bang Theory and its spinoffs, but it's easily my favorite in the lineup by a mile. Kevin Sussman's Stuart was a meek comic book owner in the original series, and while not a ton has changed about that, he's easily the most captivating leading man in this hilarious comedy series.

That's just one of the many reasons I'm encouraging everyone to check out this series with an HBO Max subscription when it premieres on July 23rd, regardless of their feelings on TBBT, Young Sheldon, or Georgie & Mandy's First Marriage. This show is something completely different than all of those, and it's a great thing.

The Big Bang Theory Was A Show About "Geeks" Stuart Fails To Save The Universe Is For Them

While co-creators Chuck Lorre and Bill Prady may take offense to The Big Bang Theory being about "geeks," there's no denying the show had that reputation and gained some ire from those communities for the representation. Rest assured, while TBBT might've been about the geeks, there's no denying that Stuart Fails To Save The Universe is for the geeks.

The new series leans into the growing trend of sci-fi franchises embracing the concept of a multiverse, as Stuart is tasked by another version of himself with trying to save the universe by traveling through different realities. Along for the ride are familiar faces from Big Bang: his friend Bert Kibbler (Brian Posehn), his love interest Denise (Lauren Lapkus), and the heel of the original series, Barry Kripke (John Ross Bowie).

Together, they pop up in different realities, the rules of which gradually unfold throughout the course of each episode. This creates an intriguing premise in which the characters are forced to adapt to weird circumstances either imagined or based on famous franchises, as seen in the trailer. I can't really talk spoilers, but the trailer features nods to The Matrix, as well as Mr. Freeze from DC Comics.

The show not only beautifully leans into the modern trope of universe-hopping adventures, but Stuart Fails To Save The Universe may do it better than any I've seen so far. It also makes plenty of references to pop culture, as well as past events in The Big Bang Theory. Don't worry, most of the references are done in a way that even someone casually familiar with the series will pick up on, but there are treats in store for those who are deep into the original show.

The Series Is Laugh Out Loud Funny, And Unlike Anything I Expected

I think what surprised me most about Stuart Fails To Save The Universe is just how hilarious it is. While The Big Bang Theory and other shows might've given me a chuckle occasionally, there were more than a few moments in the new series I found laugh-out-loud funny, and I'm ready to rewatch it all over again.

Part of this is due to the tonal shift, which can be a bit jarring at first. I can't say I ever imagined any of these characters swearing, or expected so much violence in a show like this, but it's always warranted. It may not appeal to everyone who watched The Big Bang Theory, admittedly, but for those who enjoy the average superhero movie, you'll feel right at home watching this.

I think there's a comparison here to be made between The Big Bang Theory and Stuart Fails To Save The Universe is similar to when Better Call Saul came out after Breaking Bad. Both share some connective tissue, while also being about two entirely different things. I can't say a lot more than I love it way more than I ever did TBBT, but since it couldn't exist without the original, it's given me a new appreciation for the series.

As mentioned, Stuart Fails To Save The Universe premieres on July 23rd at 9:00 p.m. ET on HBO Max. I cannot stress enough how everyone should be tuning into this series to check it out, because it really is that good.

Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s relationship is still all the buzz following their fairytale Madison Square Garden wedding. The couple tied the knot on the 4^th of July weekend, and new details are gradually being released about it, ranging from what the wedding looked like to who did or did not score an invite. There’s also more information being released about how attendees got invited, and it sounds exhausting.

Rumors have been swirling around the Tayvis wedding for months, as speculation continued about when and where it would take place. It’s basically the American version of a royal wedding, so, not surprisingly, the duo took extra care in making sure invitations remained secretive, even though the location itself eventually made headlines.

Speaking about the invitation process, American Century Investments CEO Jonathan Thomas shared on The Compound & Friends podcast that he initially got a text message invite from Swift and Kelce earlier this year. However, he deleted it because all it said was, “This is from Taylor and Travis. I promise it’s not spam.” Kelce ended up having to call Thomas months later after not hearing a response, and the tight end explained that they wanted to go digital with the invitation since they never know where their guests are going to be. That’s when the invite went from simple to intense quickly:

Thomas is far from the only one who didn’t believe the Tayvis wedding invitation at first because it seemed like spam. However, the text invite makes sense given everyone’s jobs and schedules. Plus, it is more secure this way and helps avoid leaks. But going through authentication and NDAs before receiving the actual invitation that provides the details is a lot.

Again, it makes sense; it’s the wedding of the year. However, it just sounds like a whole lot of work, especially considering all the security surrounding the invite.

It's been weeks now, and we still haven’t gotten any formal wedding pictures of the bride and groom or real images from inside MSG, so clearly the security surrounding the event was effective.

Said security gets more intense too. Along with the watermarked invites, Swift and Kelce didn't reveal all the details about their wedding at once. In fact, it wasn’t until the morning of the big day that the attendees found out exactly where the ceremony would be taking place:

Of course, for someone like Taylor Swift, I would 100% be down to go through all of these hoops to attend the wedding, and in hindsight, it’s all understandable why they would go through all this trouble. Plus, it sounds like the wedding went off without a hitch, and everyone had a great time (even if they had to go through quite the process just to get there).

For a long time, the question surrounding Ted Lasso was: Will it ever come back? Following Season 3’s ending, we were given closure; however, the door never felt like it was fully shut. Now, the comedy is returning with a new season and a bunch of new characters. So, the new question is: Will Ted Lasso continue after Season 4 finishes its run on the 2026 TV schedule? Well, Jason Sudeikis has a plan.

Ted Lasso’s fourth season hasn’t even premiered yet. In fact, we have to wait until August 5 to stream new episodes with an Apple TV subscription. However, there’s already a lot of talk about what will happen next.

So, if you’re familiar with the plan behind the first three seasons of the great Apple TV show, you shouldn't be surprised to learn that “Sudeikis has a three-season arc in mind” for this new chapter. According to a report from THR, he would like to do Seasons 5 and 6 following the release of Season 4. In fact, work on Season 5 could begin soon, as it's been reported that “if all goes according to plan, the Lasso team will be back in the writers room in late August.”

While Season 5 has not been officially ordered, it stands to reason that history could easily repeat itself, and the Ted Lasso cast could find itself returning to the pitch for at least two more seasons. The SNL vet is ready for it too, as it was explained that he has already been writing down ideas in his Notes app. As all this information was explained, Sudeikis also noted that he needed this show to come back, so I get why they want it to continue too:

Knowing all of this, I’m thrilled about the potential for Ted Lasso to continue, and I love that there’s a rough plan in place. Personally, I was a fan of the first three seasons’ arc, and appreciated that they intentionally created one big story with them. I’d love it if they did that again with Seasons 4 through 6.

We know that Season 4 will kick off a brand new chapter for Ted Lasso and AFC Richmond, as he begins coaching the women’s team instead of the men’s team. Overall, Ted Lasso’s Season 4 trailer left me with lots of questions about all the characters and the journey they’re about to go on. So, I can already tell there’s plenty to explore in this continuation of the beloved show.

However, we can’t get too far ahead of ourselves here. As I said, the series has not been officially renewed for Season 5 yet, and Season 4 hasn’t even premiered. We get to return to Richmond soon, though, as Ted Lasso will premiere on August 5.

So, get ready, folks. It sounds like there’s a good roadmap for the future in place that has a “Richmond ‘til we die” mentality. And if all goes to plan, we could be seeing a lot more of Ted and co. on our screens in the years to come. Now, all we have to do is watch and believe that there will be more to come after Season 4.

Doctor Who was removed from the 2026 TV schedule, and the BBC is actively taking pitches for how to retool the beloved sci-fi franchise. Russell T. Davies is officially out, and while he made noble efforts to put the franchise back out in front of a mainstream audience, he fell short. Now, as conversations happen about how the franchise needs to change, I think diehard fans need to acknowledge how successful a controversial set of storylines was.

I remember back in the day these were referred to as "The Doctor and his girlfriend" adventures, which is a reference to the period in which it seemed The Doctor was constantly building romantic tension with his companions. As we look back on what worked and what didn't, it's hard for me to deny that the more Doctor Who got away from Matt Smith's era of The Doctor having romantic tension with his companions, the less popular it became.

Matt Smith's "The Doctor And His Girlfriend" Era Of Doctor Who Felt Like The Series Biggest Time

Being a Doctor Who fan from 2011 to 2014 was great, because it seemed like the franchise was everywhere. Some would credit then-showrunner Stephen Moffat, others the more youthful Matt Smith, and even more the "shipping" the show created with his various companions.

People loved Amy Pond, as well as Clara Oswald, but what seemed to get more attention was the sexual tension between the characters and Matt Smith's Doctor. Doctor Who certainly pushed the romance narrative, having Pond kiss The Doctor the day before her wedding, and near-constant tension with Clara creating a "will they, won't they" dynamic.

Then, following Matt Smith's exit, Doctor Who reversed course. As CinemaBlend wrote when Peter Capaldi took over, The Doctor began acting more like classic iterations of the character, and the show progressively became less and less about spontaneous romance that grows while adventuring. Doctor Who began to fade from the mainstream, and it's safe to say it never quite reached that fever pitch again.

The Doctor Falling In Love Wasn't New, But There Were A Couple Key Differences

Some might argue that romance has always been a part of Doctor Who, especially in its modern era. After all, Rose Tyler's romance with the Doctor is a celebrated storyline, and Capaldi's Doctor ultimately married his longtime fellow time traveler, River Song. More recently, there was Ncuti Gatwa's Doctor having a brief kiss with Jonathan Groff's "Rogue," which we never got a follow-up on.

Those are all instances of The Doctor falling in love outside of Matt Smith's era, but the difference is they weren't a part of the main story. I think it's fair to say that, in the case of Amy Pond and Clara Oswald, feelings for The Doctor were a major part of their stories, which may have been something that helped it reach so many back when.

Is it the trick to getting Doctor Who back in the eyes of millions and back to making some of its best episodes again? I can only speculate, but it's one of the things from the past years that we didn't see in this latest run by Russell T. Davies. Maybe there are other ways to bring back The Doctor, and I'm eager to see creatives try!

In the meantime, the back catalog of Doctor Who's modern era is largely available on AMC+, with the latest season and specials on Disney+. Hopefully, we won't have to wait too long before learning what's next for the franchise, and who will lead it into a brave new era.

Things can get tricky when a single parent starts to get serious with a new partner. Khloé Kardashian’s ex Tristan Thompson, for instance, has rules about dating that he won’t budge on, and there have been a lot of questions about how Timothée Chalamet feels about Kylie Jenner’s kids. Now that Kim Kardashian and Lewis Hamilton’s relationship is out in the open, she’s having to make decisions regarding her own brood, and she’s allegedly got some strong thoughts.

Kim Kardashian shares four children with Kanye West — North, 13, Saint, 10, Chicago, 8, and Psalm, 7 — and sources for In Touch say she’s happy that Lewis Hamilton has started to get close to them. It sounds like he’s particularly close to North and is allegedly invested in her budding career. The supposed insider said:

We’ve seen on previous seasons of The Kardashians how Kim struggles to juggle her own packed schedule with being North West’s momager. The teen is even heading out on tour in August, and sources say Lewis Hamilton has allegedly been supportive when her ever-increasing fame leads to ever-increasing online hate. They said:

I’m excited to see where their celebrity relationship goes and if Lewis Hamilton makes any appearances on The Kardashians Season 8, although we’re still waiting on a premiere date to hit the 2026 TV schedule. Survival of the Thickest has been one of Netflix’s best and most underrated romantic comedy TV shows. We didn’t appreciate it enough. The brilliant series came to an end in 2026 and used the final season to throw some big punches at the fashion industry and showcase the burden and glory of womanhood. It also gave Mavis (Michelle Buteau) and friends some major milestones.

It was a hilarious, heartbreaking, and healing journey for Mavis and the audience. I was expecting plenty of laughs and love this season, but it went down a route I wasn’t expecting at all, and it gave the show one of its most captivating storylines.

It Shows The Grief Of A Miscarriage In A More In-Depth Way Than I Have Seen Before On Television

There have been many shows and movies that explore the devastation of a miscarriage. I have seen a few of these shows and movies that address the topic, but I have never seen one that went into so much depth as Survival of the Thickest. It’s a completely heartbreaking look at what happens when an unexpected loss crushes someone’s parental dreams.

Michelle Buteau gives an Emmy-worthy performance during this episode. I doubt the Emmys will recognize this brilliantly written and performed episode, but its existence is enough. Women who experienced what Mavis went through will feel seen. Plenty of movies have explored grief in various ways, but it’s rare to explore the grief of an unborn child and the grief of a dream that may never happen.

This was a bold move by Survival of the Thickest, especially as a comedy, but worth taking the chance. It’s a profound topic executed really well.

I Was Moved By Its Exploration Of The Male Perspective On This Topic In Survival of The Thickest

I don’t remember ever seeing a movie or TV show that explores male grief about a miscarriage. Many times the male character’s feelings aren’t addressed. He’s either there simply to support the female character as she deals with it or, in some ways, to make things worse.

Luca (Marouane Zotti) starts Survival of the Thickest Season 3 Episode 5, “Good Grief, Bitch” as just a support system for Mavis - the standard with this type of storyline. However, you see the pain behind his eyes as he tries to just be there for her. He’s the perfect boyfriend, but the show emphasizes the importance of male mental health with this topic.

Khalil (Tone Bell), who has been on his own mental health journey, acts as an anchor to let Luca know that it’s okay to grieve too. I think many men will see this and also feel seen.

The Series Ends The Episode In A Perfect Way To Show Life Goes On After Grief

At its core, Survival of the Thickest is a show about starting over. Luca and Mavis’s miscarriage storyline is another way we see that in this Netflix original. They have this major loss, and Mavis needs time to heal. Then the episode finally gets us to the big moment of the season: Luca and Mavis become engaged. It’s a highly anticipated, sweet moment to balance the heartbreak of the rest of the episode. It acts as a reminder that good can still happen after tragedy.

Life can still bloom after devastation. There are many admirable things about Survival of the Thickest, and one of them is its sincere writing. It’s a show that will be missed.

As it goes, the vast majority of Taylor Sheridan-produced projects boast star-studded casts that other TV producers would eat a cowboy hat to draw in, and Dutton Ranch was no exception when it debuted to record-breaking numbers earlier in the 2026 TV schedule. Not only due to Yellowstone vets Cole Hauser and Kelly Reilly, of course, but also franchise freshmen Annette Bening and the always excellent Ed Harris. But as it turns out, the latter wasn’t initially too pleased with the assignment.

In the role of the local and loyal animal doc Everett McKinney, Ed Harris won Dutton Ranch critics over, and I gotta say that the character was not at all what I expected, as I was fully expecting for Everett to have a bit of menace lurking beneath the surface. Sounds like Harris also had expectations for the role that were dashed. Speaking with Variety (via X), the Oscar nominee said he was geared to hang his hat up long before the final episode was filmed. In his words:

I can't imagine the feeling of running a project where Ed Harris feels like he's being under-utilized. But I do get it in this case, since Everett seems to generally be a good ol' boy in the best possible sense, where any amount of his crotchety attitude immediately fades in the face of helping an injured animal or a troubled friend. He's not exactly a softy, but he's also not the kind of gnarled-edge character that Harris excels at.

When asked why he felt like he'd been hoodwinked regarding his Dutton Ranch role, the actor explained:

Nto the most rewarding exchange of the minds, it seems. But I get it, as I also went into the first season — which was the fifth most-watched TV show of the 2025-2026 season — thinking that Everett would have more of a central role in the ongoing drama, rather than trying to soft-launch a relationship with Beulah. But by the end of the season, a lot of the stakes and relationships have changed, and it seems like Everett will be more of a pillar on Rip and Beth's side when Season 2 comes around.

To that end, Ed Harris confirms that Everett's role is meant to get bigger in future episodes, although he doesn't sound completely convinced. When asked about Season 2's production, the actor shared:

The way he stressed the word "told" makes it clear that he's not fully convinced that Everett will have as much meaningful screentime as he's hoping for. But Cole Hauser previously confirmed that the medical vet (and army vet) will have a "big part" to play next season. Here's hoping the new showrunner Ben Cavell is in the loop on that as well, lest Harris go rogue and bow out ahead of time.

Dutton Ranch will return for Season 2 in 2027, and all previous episodes can currently be streamed via Paramount+ subscription.

It kind of felt like anyone with a connection to Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce was at their wedding. From musicians to athletes to actors and more, the star-studded event held at Madison Square Garden was the place to be on July 3. Coincidentally, Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani also got married on that day five years ago. So, I can see why fans think the singers celebrated their anniversary at Swift’s wedding.

Five years after Stefani and Shelton tied the knot, they proved they are still going strong with a celebratory anniversary post. Then, a few weeks later, the No Doubt frontwoman posted about how they spent their big day; take a look:

As you can see, the former Voice coaches got all glammed up on July 3, and they seem to have celebrated in a big city (possibly New York City). While Stefani didn’t confirm what they got all dressed up for, their outfits certainly match the vibe of the other guests who attended Tayvis' wedding. Plus, it really does look like they could have been in NYC. So, I totally get why fans were commenting things like:

• Was this Taylor’s wedding?
• Looks like y’all went to a certain wedding. 😉 💍
• Ahhh - she said they are celebrating THEIR five year anniversary.
• Yes, and their anniversary was the same day as the wedding.
• Taylor and Travis……
• I was thinking “where could they possibly be going” and it hit me. 😂

Again, we don’t actually know if Stefani and Shelton were at MSG on July 3. However, it certainly seems like they were. The guest list included country singers, like Maren Morris (who posted about the wedding favors), Kelsea Ballerini, Brad Paisley, Little Big Town and many more. So, it’d track if Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani were there too.

Plus, Swift has a pretty direct connection to the couple, as she has been on The Voice multiple times. Her first appearance was during Season 4 as Usher’s advisor. However, during Seasons 7 and 17, she mentored all four teams and worked directly with Shelton and Stefani, who were coaches during both seasons.

Now, radio hosts, actors and so many more were invited to the wedding Adam Sandler officiated, so it seems perfectly logical that Shelton and Stefani were too.

At first, it seemed a bit odd to celebrate an anniversary at someone else’s wedding. However, upon further reflection, I actually think it would be super fun and sweet to honor an anniversary while celebrating love in general. So, if Stefani and Shelton did indeed spend their five-year anniversary at Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s wedding, I’d imagine it was a wonderful experience. Plus, in the video itself, the “Hollaback Girl” singer did say that it was a “really fun five-year anniversary,” so whatever they did was a good way to spend the day.

Anyway, whether they were at the wedding or not, July 3 is now not only Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani’s anniversary, but Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s too. That by itself is worth celebrating; however, I do hope they all got to honor the day together.

The 2025-2026 TV season officially ended more than a month ago, and there’s excitement for the back half of the 2026 TV schedule to deliver returning fall favorites, new Netflix shows and more. But first, praise and attention must be given to all the biggest shows from the past year that drew the largest crowds across broadcast, cable and streaming. Unsurprisingly, mega-producer Taylor Sheridan is all over that list, with three shows sitting very comfortably in the Top 10. Just not in the very top spots.

Nielsen has unveiled its latest comprehensive stats on 2025-2026 TV (via Variety), and as it usually goes, sports programming accounts for the biggest viewing audiences, with Super Bowl LX garnering the most massive viewership. But when we factor out sports and other live events, and focus squarely on scripted creations and docuseries, that’s when Sheridan and other small-screen favorites can rise up.

Landman And Both Yellowstone Spinoffs Are In The Top 10

Both seasons of Billy Bob Thornton's Landman broke viewership records for Paramount+, and both of those were then topped by Dutton Ranch's series premiere ratings. So it's only logical that both of those shows are represented in Nielsen's rundown in the #4 and #5 spots, respectively.

Over on CBS, Marshals took Luke Grimes' Kayce Dutton and the Yellowstone-verse into more serialized storytelling, and did not suffer any dramatic viewership drops because of it. In fact, it cam in just behind Dutton Ranch at #6, with a difference of only around 100,000 viewers. I would love to know how much overlap there is between those two audience groups.

If the two shows manage to pull off a crossover episode that brings Beth and Kayce together again, I bet that ends up being the most-watched episode of any Sheridan-produced series that year. Unless of course both shows are watched by the same number of people, in which case the stats would probably look pretty similar.

Also worth noting: The Madison, which isn't a Yellowstone spinoff even if it originally was conceived as such, is tied in the #19 slot with Ghosts and Will Trent.

Netflix Is Still The King, Though

Though Taylor Sheridan's dramas can obviously draw big crowds, it would have been pretty miraculous had any of them managed to take down the biggest TV hit of the streaming era, Stranger Things. Naturally, the split-up fifth and final season took over the highest spot on the Top 10, without the need for multiple platforms to enter the mix.

Below Hawkins' finest, Netflix also boasts the #2 spot with the first season of Jon Bernthal and Tessa Thompson's His & Hers , as well as the #3 slot with the 50 Cent-produced unscripted series Sean Combs: The Reckoning, which banked several Emmy nominations for the rapper.

Across the full Top 25, Netflix also ranked for Monster: The Ed Gein Story, The Beast In Me, The Boroughs, and The Lincoln Lawyer. The last two of those were canceled this year, and those seems like even wilder decisions now that the numbers are in.

Beyond Marshals and Tracker, CBS / Paramount + also populated the Top 25 with Matlock, Sheriff Country, Ghosts, NCIS, and Georgie & Mandy's First Marriage. Not too shabby, although I can't be the only one shocked to not see Boston Blue in the lineup.

I'd also be remiss if I didn't celebrate the hell out of High Potential's second season being watched by enough people to secure its Top 10 placement. Let's make all the Kaitlin Olson shows the most-watched shows on TV.

Next up for Taylor Sheridan is the third season of Zoe Saldaña and Nicole Kidman's Lioness set to stream via Paramount+ subscription, so expect to see that one showing up in the Top 10 next year.

When it comes to finding new shows to binge, the options are seemingly endless. So that’s really my only excuse for initially passing over a new action comedy series hitting the 2026 TV schedule. Because after seeing the Rotten Tomatoes score for Ride or Die, I think I’m going to be firing up my Amazon Prime Video subscription to check out the series that critics are calling “rip-roaring fun.”

Ride or Die stars Octavia Spencer and Hannah Waddingham as friends on the run from Bill Nighy, who plays the director of a crime syndicate. These decorated actors — who all have BAFTAs to their name, as well as other accolades — are undoubtedly part of the reason the series has been declared Certified Fresh by Rotten Tomatoes, holding a 96% on the Tomatometer. Sabrina Carr of Metro says it’s more than just the performances, though. She says it’s an action-packed comedy that actually made her laugh. Her review reads:

After watching the Ride or Die trailer, it does seem like Debbie (Octavia Spencer) and Judith (Hannah Waddingham) might just be the action team I never knew I needed. Debbie is the wife of a politician who thinks her best friend Judith is a forensic accountant. Judith has been keeping a big secret, though, which her friend gets pulled into after a failed assassination attempt.

Aramide Tinubu of Variety enjoys how the friends’ lives are explored beyond generic talking points like career, family or ageism, really getting to the heart of Debbie and Judith’s friendship. Ride or Die loses its luster when new characters and sidequests pull attention away from their dynamic, but Tinubu says this series is worth seeing for Hannah Waddingham’s stunts alone. The critic says:

The talent involved in Ride or Die — in addition to Hannah Waddingham apparently doing so many of her own stunts — should have been a clear indication that this would be a worthy Amazon Prime binge. Star Trek fans are hoping for some big announcement at San Diego Comic-Con regarding what's ahead for the franchise, as we're not sure what's on tap after the 2026 TV schedule wraps up. It's the 60th anniversary, after all, and while there are things planned for the upcoming Hall H panel, I wouldn't hold my breath for anything big.

Fortunately, we have Star Trek: Strange New Worlds returning for those with a Paramount+ subscription ahead of the convention, and the cast will be at the event. There are also some familiar faces set to appear, but I remain skeptical that any of it amounts to a new series or footage of a movie that is just around the corner.

What Star Trek Has Announced For Its Hall H Panel

Star Trek is planning to take the iconic Hall H stage at San Diego Comic-Con on July 25th, at 3:30 p.m. ET. It's been announced by Variety and others that a Strange New Worlds panel will take place, featuring the bulk of the cast. After that, there will be a 60th anniversary celebration panel, with a list of attendees already lined up.

It's a great lineup of people, and I'm happy to see Star Trek: Starfleet Academy get some representation despite its quick cancellation. I'm sure it'll be a great panel, but will it result in a new series or movie announcement? Again, I'm skeptical.

Why I'd Be Shocked If We Get A Movie Or TV Show Announcement

A panel celebrating Star Trek is great, but nothing about that lineup suggests to me we'll be getting a new scripted series or an update on the upcoming movie being developed by John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein. I could see something being announced in line with a retrospective look at the franchise or a documentary, but nothing beyond that.

Star Trek seems to be in a holding pattern, and with shows planned through 2027 and franchise head Alex Kurtzman's contract set to expire at the end of the year, it doesn't seem Paramount+ is in a hurry to announce anything else. It feels as though the franchise is prepping to bring a new face to guide Trek into a new era, though that has not been explicitly confirmed.

As Jonathan Frakes and others have pointed out, it's a bummer that the 60th anniversary of Star Trek has come and gone with so little fanfare. Here's hoping I have it wrong about the upcoming panel at San Diego Comic-Con, or possibly New York Comic-Con is going to yield some more details about what to look forward to when it comes to the future.

Star Trek: Strange New Worlds premieres on Paramount+ on Thursday, July 23rd. Get hyped for the upcoming episodes, especially since we don't know when we'll get new episodes of any Trek series after it wraps.

Obsession is the 2026 movie release of the year as far as I’m concerned, and I think a lot of that has to do with all the discussion the horror movie has inspired in its audiences. I’ve seen all sorts of Obsession theories since seeing it and being haunted by it. There’s one in particular I really needed to put to the test during my rewatch. I had to know if the mirror theory holds up. SPOILERS are ahead!

What’s The Obsession Mirror Theory?

I’ve been seeing this everywhere. Apparently, loads of people are convinced that whenever Wish Nikki looks into a reflection of some kind, she briefly becomes her true self. According to theorists, that’s actually why Wish Nikki holds the vase in front of her face when she’s watching Bear sleep from the corner of the room. There’s a mirror just to the right of her, and perhaps she’s stopping the real Nikki from escaping the grips of the curse for a moment?

Some fans also think that when Nikki hits herself with the bottle during the party sequence, it’s because of the reflection of the bottle. It caused her to revert, and maybe Wish Nikki is fighting back by hitting herself with it. I found this theory to be really interesting and perhaps plausible because I do recall Nikki randomly and suddenly acting as herself throughout the movie, and wondered if there was a trigger.

I Have Thoughts On The Theory After Giving It A Rewatch

Now that Obsession is available to stream at home, I could finally pause and rewind during my latest viewing to really check out this theory. I did notice that the first time Wish Nikki kind of switches back, she could be looking briefly into a side-view mirror when it happens. However, another time it happens, she’s literally closing her eyes and kissing Bear.

In the party scene, when she snaps back to life, it seemed to me more like she was looking at Bear before it happened. I also don’t know how she would have really looked at a reflective surface before she asked Bear to kill her in the dead of the night. In other words, I just don’t see enough evidence to agree here – though I will give it to theorists, it’s a solid concept.

When I talked to Inde Navarrette for Obsession, she did shed some light on her thoughts about when the real Nikki vs. Wish Nikki appear. When she shared her thoughts on why what happens to Nikki is not a demonic possession, she said this:

Navarrette also said that she thinks Nikki “gained strength over time” and was fighting the wish. With that in mind, I could see how things like a kiss or how she’s acting at the party might trigger the real Nikki to peep through this metaphorical “sheer material.” No matter how you slice it, the situation Bear puts Nikki into with the One Wish Willow is absolutely horrifying. I love that there are so many ways one can theorize how the mysterious stick works.

We’ve heard the stories from inside Madison Square Garden on July 3 — the advice Adam Sandler gave to newlyweds Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce, the song lyric-embroidered wedding favors, and we’ve even gotten to glimpse Swift’s wedding band at this point. But how long is the “Opalite” singer going to torture us by withholding her wedding photos? Insiders are weighing in on the next steps.

Your English teacher and your gym teacher’s nuptials were reportedly quite “intimate,” according to guests of the celebrity wedding, but Swifties would love to see some non-AI images from Swift and Kelce’s big night, thank you very much. Since the pizza guy apparently didn’t do any snooping, it sounds like we’re at the mercy of the couple themselves. According to Rob Shuter of Naughty But Nice, sources say the bride is allegedly waiting for the perfect moment, and the pics will be worth the wait. One insider said:

Well, any Swiftie who’s ever clowned definitely knows how good Taylor Swift is at building hype around an expected release. Right now she’s on her honeymoon with Travis Kelce, with only a week or so left before he has to report for training camp, so I guess we’ll have to trust what Kylie Kelce supposedly told a fan (per US Weekly) that the photos will come out “eventually” and let them “bask in it” for now.

When the day does come, insiders insist she’s not making a cash grab. A second source said:

A Dior spokesperson told the New York Times that Taylor Swift will release the first images on her Instagram, just as she did with her and Travis Kelce’s engagement. What will happen after that is unknown. There was a film crew present, and while it’s perfectly normal for a couple to immortalize their wedding events in such a way, a third source thinks there will be a larger creative endeavor:

Will that be another concert film of sorts? A documentary? Coffee table book? Will Taylor Swift’s wedding be the inspiration for her oh-so-important 13th album??

None of those questions can be answered yet, but we have to take comfort in the promise that something is coming “eventually.” Maybe when football season starts again, Taylor Swift’s schedule will be freed up a little to work on that, since she allegedly plans to stay in Missouri with her tight end.

Take deep breaths, Swifties — we’ve survived the wait for the “Taylor’s Versions” (though a girl could do with some new vault tracks, while we’re asking for stuff) and we’ll be able to weather the wait for wedding photos until the mastermind is ready to reveal them.

Sydney Sweeney is living her best life in Australia. The actress returned to the country where Anyone But You shot back in May. She’s spent the summer there filming the new live action Gundam movie, and by every pic I’ve seen, the entire experience looks delightful. In fact, her recent photodump is all bikini days, picnics filled with real food options, and living what looks to be her best life with Scooter Braun, whom she's been dating since shortly after she was seen at Jeff Bezos' wedding in 2025.

As much as I’m here for Sydney Sweeney’s summer bikini life, I just think her “little Aussie dump” of summer moments is so charming. The picnic date with the pizza and the pasta is supreme. There’s a separate photo of her and (what is likely) beau Scooter Braun recreating the very cringe moment she and Glen Powell tried to do the “I’m flying” scene from Titanic. So, essentially it’s a nod to a film that is already nodding at a film. Go ahead and try to unpack that.

Gundam’s been in production since late April, but Sweeney didn’t drop a look at her new digs or her view of the Sydney opera house until early May. It’s been a couple of months since that moment, and honestly this is the closest thing we’ve gotten to an update on the upcoming Netflix film in a few weeks.

Celebrities are known for posting stuff out of order, and we do know Sydney Sweeney was in the States last month during the NBA finals. She appeared at multiple games in New York and San Antonio with Braun, though she didn’t garner nearly as much attention as fellow actor Timothèe Chalamet, who even got down and dirty with some team champagne after the Knicks won.

It’s unclear if she’s been going back and forth between Australia and the States or if this photo dump is from earlier in the summer, though Perth Now notes she’s still been filming in the Queensland area. (Plus, Scooter Braun notable has his own private jet.)

Either way, it’s a sweet look into “down-to-Earth” Sweeney and Scooter Braun’s relationship. Given the popularity of the original anime, and the fact we’ve gotten so little information about the Sweeney and Noah Centineo-led movie, I will take what I can get. And if that includes an homage to Anyone But You and a bikini post, all the better.

Now, I can’t wait for her to come back for that Anyone But You sequel. Pretty please?

We still have some time before Harry Potter and The Philosopher's Stone is available to stream with an HBO Max subscription. In the meantime, though rest assured that the team did all it could to ensure the series was ready for the 2026 TV schedule. Cinematographer Adriano Goldman talked about the tight deadlines for the series, in part because they had to adhere to specific guidelines with the child actors. And, honestly, I never imagined how "brutal" the process would be.

The producers of the upcoming Harry Potter series had a ton of children audition and, while Dominic McLaughlin, Alastair Stout, and Arabella Stanton have the honor of playing Harry, Ron, and Hermione, respectively, it doesn't mean they get to cease their studies and abandon school entirely. That makes sense, though Goldman told Andre Pilli that working with kids added a layer of difficulty to the filming process:

I don't think Adriano Goldman is advocating that child actors shouldn't be learning and spend all of their free time on the set, but rather acknowledging that working with children presents a lot more problems than with an all-adult cast. This is more inside baseball and how the bread is made, presenting the technical part to filming people may not understand. This is an intriguing layer to production that I didn't really consider against the backdrop of such a massive production.

Of course, filming a show with kids is not new in the industry, and Goldman confirmed they have ways of making it work. He shared the secret, and I can certainly understand why this particular method would be helpful:

Adriano Goldman said that because of the time constraints with child actors, he and the crew of Harry Potter And The Philosopher's Stone try to pre-shoot as much of the scene as possible, so that they can focus solely on the scenes with the children when they're available. He noted that it added to the difficulty because the filming of a scene is often done out of sequence, but I would imagine it's better than trying to do it the proper way with the allotted time they have with the young stars.

As for what that time is, Goldman explained that they'll usually have an hour and a half in the morning, and then the kids can return in the afternoon after school. While he spoke to it being though from a production standpoint, I can't help but feel for 12-year-old Dominic McLaughlin, who had to go straight from school to set on a daily basis!

It's a lot of work for everyone involved, but I hope the sight of that first look at the HP show makes it all worth it in the end for the cast and crew. Obviously, there are going to be a lot of critiques about Harry Potter and The Philosopher's Stone and, while veteran actors like Paapa Essiedu and Nick Frost are prepared for that, I hope the younger cast is as well.

The Philosopher's Stone is primed to provide a fresh take on the Wizarding World and, given the TV medium, there's more time to focus on events that happened in the books that the movies left out. I'm excited to see those added bits most of all, especially the scenes that feature the ghosts, who were largely left out of the movies when they were made. In the meantime, though, I'm hopeful that the cast and crew continue to work through that grueling filming schedule accordingly.

Harry Potter is set to arrive on HBO and HBO Max this Christmas. I'm going to be watching while unwrapping gifts and hope to hear that others are doing the same this holiday season.

The Internet has, frankly, been brutal toward Meghan Markle ever since people found out she’d earned a 2026 Emmy nomination. I mean it when I say brutal. People have been roasting her chopping skills and joking about how she’s so good at “transferring pretzels from one bag to another,” a nod to a now-viral moment in which the actress-turned-royal-turned lifestyle host took the snack from a normal bag and dumped it into a fancier plastic bag. The jokes are ripe for the taking, and have been since With Love, Meghan released, but I do think most fans who are kidding around are missing one important piece of information.

First, here’s one particularly brutal tweet about the Emmy nomination, and a whole slew of people who are befuddled by or snarky about the news.

Like I said, anyone who has actually seen an episode of With Love, Meghan, the lifestyle series that made it for two seasons on Netflix before the streamer canceled it, knows the show is fluff. According to the Emmy nomination, it’s apparently also daytime fluff, as it got put up for a Daytime Emmy Award this TV season, surprising many.

Here is where I think people are missing a major facet of this nomination. Markle isn’t competing against The Bear. She’s not competing against The Pitt (though even the cast thought those noms were fake) or Zendaya in Euphoria. She’s not even competing against other reality shows like RuPaul’s Drag Race or Survivor’s big deal Season 50 nom. She’s not competing against variety programs like SNL or the many various late night programs.

So, how could a show that was so panned (aka "painful to watch") land itself an Emmy nomination? Relatively easy, actually. Shows get submitted via application and then get voted on by a judging panel; it's that simple. Anyone can basically submit. The main criteria is the program needs to be able to be viewable by 50% of "eligible U.S. Households." However, a separate note in the official rundown mentions that programs "made online" and "intended for a national audience" fit the criteria, which seemingly works for With Love, Meghan.

It’s not even the only low-rated show to land a nomination. In fact, the only other show I was fairly familiar with was The Motherhood, a limited Hallmark program featuring Connie Britton working with single moms to help make over their lives with coaching, self-help and more. It’s also not a particularly well-received series, with a 5.0/10 rating on IMDB.

Of these other shows, at least the home renovation series George to the Rescue and the prosthetics for animals show The Wizard of Paws are well-rated on varying platforms. A Different Breed also has reasonably solid reviews, but I think the point is, the average person has probably not heard of the majority of these programs. It’s a relatively easy category to enter, and Meghan Markle could very well land an Emmy if her cards have been played correctly.

When Will We Find Out?

The Daytime Emmys are a little different than the Primtime Emmys you probably think about when awards shows come to mind. Those will hit the 2026 TV schedule on Monday, September 14th on NBC (or for anyone with a Peacock subscription). Meghan Markle and her show will not be in that lauded group, however. The Daytime Emmys happen later this year.

If you want to find out more about the Outstanding Lifestyle Program category and its winners, the Daytime Emmy Awards will be on October 30th, 2026. The big difference between the two programs is the Television Academy hosts the Primetime Emmy Awards. The Daytime Emmys are put on by the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences. Clearly the barriers to entry are different too, but please note that no matter which Emmy you win, the statues are exactly the same.

So, that’s something.

As iconic and successful as it's been, The Big Bang Theory had its share of critics during its run on television. Now, as we reach the point in the 2026 TV schedule where its latest spinoff, Stuart Fails To Save The Universe, comes out, creator Chuck Lorre is firing back. While some may say the original series poked fun or made jokes at nerdy peoples' expense, Lorre has strong feelings pushing against that.

I spoke to Lorre and the other co-creators of Stuart Fails To Save The Universe about the original show's reputation, and how the upcoming series available with an HBO Max subscription feels more "geek-coded" in comparison.

Lorre didn't see his characters as nerdy, nor does he feel the same way as Stuart Fails To Save The Universe and its cast. Kevin Sussman's character still owns a comic shop in the series, ironic because Sussman worked in one as he started out in acting. I wouldn't call Sussman an inherently geeky person, so maybe Chuck Lorre made a good point.

Co-creator Bill Prady, who also helped make The Big Bang Theory, also chimed in. He brought up that, at times, he felt fan complaints characterized him and the writers as punching down on the geeks and nerds. In reality, Prady was pitching and writing moments from his own life:

Prady's point being, even if the show was making fun of "nerds," it wasn't from a place of them being above those experiences or awkward encounters. I don't think it should come as a surprise to any reader that the creators and writers of The Big Bang Theory could also be nerdy, seeing as they invited guest stars like Star Trek's Wil Wheaton regularly.

Now, they've created Stuart Fails To Save The Universe, a series that turns the world of The Big Bang Theory on its head and puts Stuart and friends in wild situations across the multiverse. The trailer for this sci-fi series shows this is a series that feels more like something Leonard and the guys would watch in his apartment, rather than anything that may feel like mockery to its prospective audience.

It's the third spinoff from The Big Bang Theory, and I'm sure HBO is hoping it'll succeed as the next major hit for the growing franchise. Things are a bit different this time around, with the show relying on violence and edgy material rather than wholesome family comedy made for a CBS audience. I'm eager to see how the world responds, and if Chuck Lorre and company can make television magic yet again.

Stuart Fails To Save The Universe premieres on HBO and HBO Max on Thursday, July 23rd. Be prepared for the world of The Big Bang Theory in a way it's never been seen before, and prepare to see some familiar faces in a brand new way.

Just in case the first half of 2026 felt like it was severely missing enough Alan Ritchson whupping other people’s behinds — save for Netflix’s War Machine, but that was whupping robotic behinds — the back half of the year is course-correcting in the best possible way. Not only can we look forward to Reacher’s best-year-yet with Season 4 (and the Neagley spinoff) finally arriving on the 2026 TV schedule, but the actor has a whopping three other 2026 movie releases releasing in the next six months. He’s kind of a busy dude.

But he’d be even busier if he somehow was able to take all of the movie and TV offers that landed on his plate immediately after Reacher became one of the most-watched streaming shows available via Amazon Prime subscription. Appearing on CBS Mornings to promote his hardcore new movie Motor City, Ritchson was asked what drew him to the Potsy Ponciroli-directed project, at which point he addressed just how many offers he fielded due to Reacher’s popularity, saying:

I suppose the exact number might never be known, but Alan Ritchson didn't exactly make it seem like he was exaggerating in saying he had upwards of 40 offers waiting for his assessment as Reacher quickly rose through the pop culture zeitgeist. If anything, it's like he's low-balling that number as not to make anyone jealous.

That's a wild amount of job offers to get in any capacity in any industry, and it sounds like the actor did his due diligence when parsing through all of the genre-specific pitches and narratives, picking projects that align with both his talents and his fanbase. With the possible exception of the Kevin James-starring action-comedy Playdate, but at least that movie helped him learn why it's okay to not say "yes" to everything.

Much like Reacher can be a man of few words, Ritchson's Motor City was filmed almost entirely without dialogue, and there are reportedly only around 5 lines of dialogue, with action sequences telling most of the story. In the film, he plays ex-con John Miller, who spent years in jail for a crime he didn't commit, and who immediately goes on revenge journey post-release against the Detroit mobster who framed him and stole the love of his life.

Ritchson shared Motor City stood out from the other 39 or nor so offers he got, saying:

Considering he was still in Jack Reacher's headspace when he read through Motor City, it's perhaps no surprise that found connective tissue between the roles, and thinks of them both as action heroes that audiences can live through vicariously. In his words:

Check out the trailer for Motor City below, in which the lack of dialogue can immediately be picked up on.

Motor City is set to hit theaters on July 24. How fantastic would it be if this dialogue-lite movie becomes a hit based on word-of-mouth recommendations? And we only have mere weeks to wait until Reacher Season 4 debuts on August 12 with its first three episodes.

Without fail, every single time I’ve rewatched Ted Lasso with my Apple TV subscription, I replay the moment where Ted hits his head on Rebecca’s door frame. It’s so shocking that I always instantly replay it. However, the story behind filming that moment makes it even crazier, because it was a total accident. And I have to say, the fact that it wasn’t meant to happen makes Hannah Waddingham’s look of horror in the episode make a lot more sense.

The moment in question happens during Season 1, Episode 10, after a meeting Ted has with Rebecca. During their conversation, Ted voices his insecurities about coaching the team, and Rebecca hypes him up. That prompts the coach to realize he can “cause chaos” on the pitch, and with his newfound realization, he jumps for joy out of her office. However, he jumps a bit too hard and hits his head and knee on the doorframe. He then falls down, gets up, and says he’s “fine.” According to Jason Sudeikis, he really wasn’t fine, though, as he explained on The Drew Barrymore Show:

Well, that story about filming this Ted Lasso moment could certainly explain why Hannah Waddingham’s Rebecca looked like she was in utter shock when her coach slammed into the door frame (which you can see in the image at the top of this story).

While I know they turned the camera around to get Waddingham's coverage after Sudeikis hurt himself, I also have to assume they were both in shock about what just happened. So, I’d imagine that looking horrified and concerned for the camera was not difficult. In fact, I’d assume there was really no acting required there, because from a viewer’s perspective, the way the Ted actor jumped, hit himself, and then fell was so utterly unexpected. I have to believe they felt the same way on set too.

Now, I’m very curious to see if there are moments like this in Season 4 of Ted Lasso. Both Sudeikis and Waddingham are set to return, alongside Juno Temple (Keeley Jones), Brendan Hunt (Coach Beard), Brett Goldstein (Roy Kent) and Jeremy Swift (Leslie Higgins). Plus, a whole new set of characters will be joining them, as Ted will return to AFC Richmond to coach the women’s team.

With all that in mind, I’m sure the cast and creatives will bring us many new gags, goofs and hilarious quotes that will leave us laughing and maybe even gasping like this Season 1 moment did.

However, we’ll have to wait a bit longer to find out, as Season 4 of Ted Lasso is set to premiere on the 2026 TV schedule on Wednesday, August 5. In the meantime, we can all go back and watch this wild, injury-inducing moment by streaming the beloved comedy series on Apple TV.

When it comes to movie buffs, this weekend is pretty much all about The Odyssey, which hit the 2026 movie schedule this past Friday. The Christopher Nolan-helmed film is an adaptation of Homer’s epic poem of the same name, and it’s been making quite a splash. Not only is the film poised to top the box office this weekend, but Nolan’s latest has also received critical acclaim. All the while, though, a show on Amazon Prime Video is gaining notice as well and actually has a Rotten Tomatoes score higher than Nolan’s new movie.

A Prime Video Docuseries Is Sparking Some Critical Buzz

The series in question is Murder 101, which arrived on the 2026 TV schedule last week, and it seems critics are really digging it. As of this writing, the docuseries has a 100% critics score on Rotten Tomatoes. What should be mentioned, however, is that this stellar score is only based on a total of five reviews. Still, that’s impressive due to the review embargo having been open for a little while now.

Murder 101 is a three-part limited series directed by Stacey Lee, and this documentary centers on a high school sociology class in Tennessee that investigates a cold case involving a serial killer. At the center of this story is the case of the Redhead Murders, of which several red-headed women were killed within a six-month span in the Tennessee area between 1984 and 1985. The class’ efforts ultimately inspire law enforcement to reopen the case themselves.

Anyone who enjoys watching various true crime documentaries may want to check out Lee’s docuseries for themselves. What it offers is an examination of a serious case, but it’s analyzed from a unique perspective, that of high school students. Admittedly, I don’t watch true crime often, but I’m constantly amazed whenever unique stories like the one told in this recent Prime Video doc come up.

The Odyssey Is Still Getting It’s Fair Share Of Praise

Nolan’s The Odyssey may not have a 100% fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes, but the score it has is still nothing to scoff at. Right now, the blockbuster has a certified 95% freshness rating based on 370 reviews. So that’s much larger than the pool of pundits that have responded to Murder 101 so far. Also, the film came in hot once the review embargo lifted as it initially peaked at 98%, which is even more amazing. That’s certainly a testament to the talents of Nolan and his team.

This book-to-screen adaptation of Homer’s work represents what’s arguably Christopher Nolan’s most ambitious cinematic feat. What’s most jaw-dropping about it is that a lot of it was shot practically and with minimal visual effects. So this is much bigger than some of Nolan’s earlier films like the acclaimed Memento or the excellent Insomnia, which is a story involving a killer.

Overall, though, entertainment junkies have some quality viewing options to take in this weekend on both the big and small screens. Honestly, I can’t recommend The Odyssey enough so, if you’re able to see it in a theater, head out as soon as you can. Yet, if you can make it to the cinema or have booked tickets for another time, sit back, grab a Prime Video subscription and stream Murder 101 at home.

I’ve been a fan of the Netflix dating series The Ultimatum: Marry or Move On from the beginning, and no, it’s not because I think it offers a valid option for struggling long-term couples to save their relationships. It’s because the wild partner-swap premise makes for peak reality TV drama. However, after watching the first five episodes of The Ultimatum Season 4, I’m frustrated that the couples are basically ignoring a big part of the experiment.

The Ultimatum Season 4 Couples Aren’t Buying Into Their Trial Marriages

Anyone who’s watched a past season of The Ultimatum: Marry or Move On or its superior spinoff The Ultimatum: Queer Love has heard the host (in this case, Nick Lachey) issue the rules: At the end of the experience, you will either leave engaged, with a new partner, or alone. The potential for the cast members to find love (or at least lust) with their trial spouse is baked into the show's format, but there seems to be no romantic potential in the Season 4 trial marriages.

There are no sparks flying, and therefore there’s no suspense over whether or not someone might actually leave their partner for a new relationship. Past seasons have at least shown conversations about sharing a bed or how much physical intimacy should factor into a trial marriage. We’ve even gotten scandalous kisses and “intimate” noises. I don’t think we’ve seen so much as hand-holding in Season 4.

Trial spouses Ashley Wilson and Blake Robertson (pictured above) may have had the most potential, but it seemingly only took one Instagram video of a very chaste bowling date for their original partners Hayley Hendrich and Killian Grondin to fly off the rails over their supposed connection. David Atkinson and Monica Payne also got along really well, and she legitimately seemed to be helping him open up emotionally. But come on, man, this is Netflix, not couples therapy.

This Season’s Drama Has Not Been All That Fun To Watch

The Ultimatum: Queer Love never had a problem serving up delicious drama — the Spotify “sex playlist” scandal lives rent-free in my head — and yet Netflix canceled that series. Instead, we’re left with The Ultimatum: Marry or Move On, with this season’s biggest drama so far being Killian’s group text, where he seems to condone his buddies’ lewd comments about Hayley’s body. That’s disgusting to me, and it’s definitely not the kind of drama I come to this franchise for.

And look, rooting for more experimentation between the couples doesn’t make me a monster. For one thing, these are adults who signed up for a crazy partner-swapping experience. I’m not going to apologize for wanting follow-through. Secondly, these couples are not the epitome of healthy relationships.

If you’re still “50/50” on your partner after six years, you’ve got to cut that cord, and nobody at the ripe old age of 23 should be giving OR receiving a marriage ultimatum (this season started with three that age).

Despite the lack of sparks between the contestants and a couple of problematic players, I’m still enjoying The Ultimatum Season 4, and I can’t wait to binge through the switchback round and see how it all plays out.

The first eight episodes are available to stream on Netflix now, with the finale and reunion hitting the 2026 TV schedule on Wednesday, July 22.

Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce definitely know that the world of celebrity relationships can be a tumultuous place. Barely a day goes by that doesn’t include some big breakup or divorce announcement — hell, one even came out of their wedding, as rumors about Jack Antonoff and Margaret Qualley’s split started during their celebration. T&T have only been married for two weeks, but sources say they’re already putting a plan in place to ensure their love is forever and always.

Newlyweds Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift have a little more than a week left to honeymoon before the Kansas City Chief is required to be back with his team for training camp. When he does, according to sources for Naughty But Nice podcaster Rob Shuter, his wife will allegedly be by his side. One insider said:

Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce have definitely navigated long-distance relationships before. When they got together, she was traveling the world on her Eras Tour, while his football schedule kept him busy.

However, we’ve definitely seen over the years how they prioritize each other, with Taylor Swift jetting out from a Japan concert to get to Travis Kelce’s Super Bowl game. The tight end also globetrotted to several of her shows. So while they may have homes all over the country, there’s no secret where Swift will reportedly be this football season. The source continued:

Travis Kelce’s schedule will largely be set by the Kansas City Chiefs as long as he’s playing football, but Taylor Swift has more flexibility, and friends reportedly say the couple has made a promise to each other to not risk their marriage by living separate lives, as the insider said:

Whether or not that means we’ll be seeing more of Taylor Swift at the Chiefs’ home games remains to be seen. While some girl dads were able to bond with their Swiftie daughters when the “Love Story” singer started showing up to NFL games, others thought TV broadcasts were “overdoing it” with the Swift coverage.

Last season, Taylor Swift seemed to be making an effort to stay out of the spotlight at Chiefs games, but either way, according to the insider, nothing will stop her from supporting her man:

It sounds like Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce have gone into their marriage ready to do what it takes to make sure they don’t become one of the many failed celebrity marriages. These two may have different careers, but they allegedly won’t be living separate lives.

Feet are a totally normally body part, but as we already know thanks to the Internet’s obsession with Margot Robbie’s feet, things can get a little weird from time to time. Which is why it was a little surprising when Kim Kardashian included a picture of her late grandmother’s feet in a tribute post to MJ this weekend, then called it out separately on her Stories. It wasn't the first time Kim Kardashian's family has faced criticism, but this time she had a response to the haters.

Kim Kardashian’s grandmother Mary Jo Shannon, otherwise known as MJ, died at 91 on Thursday, July 16th. She had a good run, and the reality star celebrated her life through a series of pictures on Instagram. One of them included this foot picture of all the ladies in the Kardashian/Jenner clan.

Honestly, most of the comments on the post itself were pretty standard “sorry for your loss” type stuff. Kate Hudson and Mindy Kaling even sent heart emojis. Of course, the Internet is gonna Internet. The post subsequently blew up elsewhere online, and people could not get over the foot post being the one Kim had also drawn attention to on her Stories.

Some other fans called out Kim for doing Kylie “dirty” after feeling her feet looked less nice than not just her grandmother’s, but a lot of her older family members. Kim and Kylie have a well-known (and mostly friendly) rivalry, but some fans thought this was over the line.

In general though, many people were confused about why the famous reality star would choose to post that picture (even given we know the clan documents pretty much everything). The Kardashians star had an answer to this, however.

Kim Kardashian Stands By Sharing MJ’s Feet

Later on her Instagram Stories, Kim stood by her post. In fact, given her grandmother was her “gossip buddy,” she probably would have enjoyed all the Internet brouhaha surrounding her feet. As for Kim, she wasn’t taking the commentary seriously. She told those who’d commented that if they’d known her grandmother, they wouldn’t be saying the things they were saying.

She also included a heart and crying/laughing emoji.

So, yes, Grandma MJ loved her feet. She was proud of her feet, and she didn’t care who knew it. Kim just wanted to celebrate her grandma and her proud tootsies after her death, and clearly she wanted to do so in a lighthearted manner. Yet, I will just say, you put feet out on the Internet and then Google yourself, and I think you will find your feet are on the Internet for eternity.

Yes, there are spoilers ahead, so walk with caution!

I saw a ton of movies in 2025, a personal record, in fact, but one that I missed was The Long Walk from director Francis Lawrence, based on a novel by Stephen King. After a long 10-month wait for the movie to hit a streaming service, I was finally able to watch it with my HBO Max subscription. First, I loved it. I mean, “love” sounds like a weird way to describe a movie this hard to watch and this dark and disturbing, but I enjoyed it way more than I was anticipating. I loved it all except for one part. I almost had to turn it off when one of the characters breaks his ankle.

I Had A Visceral Reaction

If you've seen the movie, you know that The Long Walk is a brutal movie. Set in some sort of dystopian timeline (the time period is purposefully left open), the film follows a group of 50 young men as they walk until they die. Along the way, one by one, 49 of the 50 are picked off until one winner remains. We get to know about 10 of the walkers, including Richard Harkness, played by Jordan Gonzalez.

Somewhere around the 60-mile mark, in one of the most harrowing scenes in the movie, following the guys up a steep hill, Harkness turns his ankle and either breaks it or severely sprains it. For the next 10 miles, he essentially walks on the side of his foot. Even as I write this, my stomach is churning. I can’t think of anything more painful than that, because I have a long history of spraining my ankle. When I first saw it happen (which I knew was coming), I almost reached for my remote control.

I Felt The Pain In A Very Real Way

It’s not too much to say that I have a slight case of PTSD when it comes to sprained and broken ankles. I relive the moments I did the same thing, and seeing it as starkly and as brutally as it’s shown in The Long Walk was really hard to watch, even though I’d been warned before watching. I spent the spend the first 30 minutes of the movie waiting for it, which added to my stress.

When I was in high school, I severely sprained my left ankle, playing golf of all things. I was in a brace for months, tearing multiple ligaments. In my late 20s, I did the same thing to my right ankle after stepping in a hole in an alley in Boston, walking (sober-ish) out of a bar. I was on my way to a wedding, and I basically ignored getting the injury looked at. In fact, I never did. Instead, I limped around for months like an idiot.

Neither ankle has ever been the same, and for many years, I was prone to rolling one or the other, until I really concentrated on strengthening both. I don’t roll them much anymore, and when I do, the pain, while intense, is usually short-lived. However, I’m incredibly sensitive to seeing ankle injuries in sports and in movies and TV. I really feel it when I see it. I can still remember the sound both ankles made, and I’ll tell you, movies are really good at recreating that sound.

Sadly, Harkness succumbs to the injury and “gets his ticket,” and thankfully there are only a couple of really graphic shots of this ankle before he’s shot, but they were definitely the hardest moments of a bleak movie for me to watch.

In the Extraction movies, which you can watch with a Netflix subscription, Chris Hemsworth's Tyler Rake takes on a host of missions that nearly kill him. And, given those wild assignments, Hemsworth himself has to be in shape to perform a number of those feats on set. Well, with Extraction 3 on the way, the leading man is training for his reprisal. It's true that Hemsworth has put on muscle before but, after seeing the training video he recently shared, I'm amazed by how ripped he appears to be.

Chris Hemsworth is letting his nearly 60 million Instagram followers know that he’s ready to do what it takes to surpass the bar that he and director Sam Hargrave have previously set for the Extraction franchise. To pull it off believably, the Thor actor is sweating it out in a training session in Costa Rica, a couple weeks prior to the start of production on the threequel, and it hurts my body just to watch. It goes without saying that you shouldn’t just jump in and try out his regimen, as the Transformers One actor is no stranger to extreme physical training. Anyone who's a fan of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, you likely know about the amount of work Hemsworth put into training for Avengers: Doomsday, in which he’s reprising his role as the God of Thunder for the first time since 2022. Or you may have also seen Hemsworth do crazy stunts like jumping off of cliffs in Mallorca while there to shoot Season 2 of his Nat Geo series, Limitless.

Back to Hemsworth's Extraction 3 prep, though, what he calls a “minimal equipment program” is not minimal in effort or expectation. I can appreciate that he’s able to do two rounds of the various exercises with only a two-minute rest in between, as I would likely end up in the hospital with weeks of bed rest to recover. The Aussie actor uses resistance bands and kettlebells to complete curls, reverse fly exercises and other movements with the sole purpose of preparing him for all the action.

It certainly seems like Hemsworth's managed to figure out the most effective way to be ready to return to the role of Tyler Rake in a matter of weeks. I'm intrigued by the notion of what Hemsworth and Hargrave will bring to this latest installment.

The first Extraction film hit streaming milestones when it was released in 2020 and further expanded its franchise popularity with a sequel, leading to demand for a third installment. Considering the massive action sequences featured, fans are surely expecting a lot. (Some may still be thinking about that one-shot sequence from Extraction 2.)

Despite that, I won't doubt Hemsworth, Hargrave and their collaborators, including Idris Elba and Golshifteh Farahani, who are also set to reprise their roles in Extraction 3. A release date has yet to be confirmed for the film but, in the meantime, check out Hemsworth and his muscles in Avengers: Doomsday, which opens on December 18th as part of the 2026 movie schedule.

While Dutton Ranch is a direct extension of Yellowstone and it really is a continuation of Beth and Rip’s story, some things about it are a bit different. For example, Beth has evolved since the end of Yellowstone. That’s not a bad thing. In fact, it’s been fun to see a different side of her as the spinoff aired on the 2026 TV schedule. However, according to Kelly Reilly, her character changed partially because Taylor Sheridan was no longer writing her.

Unlike Yellowstone, where Taylor Sheridan is credited as a writer on every single episode, he’s only credited on Dutton Ranch as a writer because the show is based on characters he created. In an interview with THR, Reilly addressed how that’s changed things. Specifically opening up about what it was like to return to this character and not say words written by Sheridan, the actress explained:

I totally get what she’s saying. If you watch Yellowstone with a Peacock subscription, Beth is such a strong character. She’s aggressive, direct and will fearlessly say anything. All that is still true in Dutton Ranch (which you can stream with a Paramount+ subscription). However, she’s not as much of a tornado as she used to be. She’s slightly more collected and a little more level-headed, in my opinion.

It turns out that shift in character came, in part, because Sheridan wasn’t writing Dutton Ranch. He's credited as an EP, but this spinoff was created by Chad Feehan (who was also the showrunner for Season 1), and it was written by a whole team of people. To me, felt like a natural evolution for Beth, as she entered a brand new phase of life. Speaking to those points, Reilly said:

As Reilly explained, Beth is still very much the Beth. She has her aggressive moments, and she is not afraid to stand up to Annette Bening’s Beulah. However, on the whole, she’s a bit more openly vulnerable in this show. That could be because she’s entered a new phase of life, as the Yellowstone actress said:

While I do think Beth’s iconic and brutal Yellowstone moments helped make this franchise what it is, I also am here for this new side of her character.

Yes, it was daunting to go into this show, seemingly for her, and for me as a fan, without Sheridan writing. He’d penned all the Yellowstone stories (except Marshals and this show) beforehand, so it was nerve-wracking to see the franchise move forward with other creatives. However, it also provided an opportunity to see the characters in a new light.

Now, with Dutton Ranch renewed for Season 2 and a new showrunner, Benjamin Cavell, at the helm, it will be interesting to see how Beth and Rip continue to evolve.

Wednesday Addams has been a beloved character for a very long time, but Jenna Ortega truly made the Addams family member her own in Wednesday. While she's aced her performance and is very committed to the role, sometimes Wednesday is really hard to make, and occasionally a story comes along that's a lot to comprehend. To that point, specifically, there's one scene that she and her co-star Hunter Doohan found "fucking ridiculous."

Ortega has dished about everything from her iconic dance to wanting more horror in Season 2. Typically, she tends to have good points, too. So I’m not surprised to get more BTS stories from her co-stars. For example, Hunter Doohan, who plays Tyler, revealed the fan-favorite Wednesday scene he had with Ortega that the actors thought was 'ridiculous.' Spilling the tea to THR, he said:

I can’t help but wonder if that scene from Season 2, Episode 2 plays into the grueling nature of filming the hit streaming series. In it, Wednesday makes the bold choice to visit her former love interest in Willow Hill Psychiatric Hospital. The two quickly engage in a psychological game of cat-and-mouse, testing each other for information, while Tyler is shirtless and restrained by chains.

Overall, I see why they found it "ridiculous." However, I also understand why this scene involving Tyler chained up is a fan favorite and the subject of many fan edits, as it’s the first time we see the characters interact in Season 2.

Plus, honestly, the two actors’ chemistry seemed to get better after Tyler was revealed to be evil. But if you’re a long-time Addams fan, the dynamic almost feels like a nod to Addams Family Values. Now, anyone who wants to rewatch that scene can do so with a Netflix subscription.

While Doohan was joking about how he and Ortega found that scene "ridiculous," he also made his love for the job clear.

The hit series quickly took off in popularity, though I wasn't shocked given the talent behind the camera. When you combine the Smallville duo of Alfred Gough and Miles Millar with the perfect weirdness of Tim Burton, you're going to get something dark and magical. Considering how big a hit this show is, and how beloved the characters are, it surprises me to learn that the actors still get nervous. For example, Doohan said:

Unlike Doohan, I wasn't worried at all that his character would be killed off. I would assume that when you have an actor THAT good at playing a twisted yet conflicted character, you don't want to get rid of them too quickly. And I am relieved to have confirmation that Tyler will be in Season 3.

Now, I'm ready to see what happens next with our favorite Wednesday characters, especially after all the cliffhangers we were left with at the end of Season 2. While I'd guess most are excited about meeting Aunt Ophelia in Season 3, I'd also love to get even a cameo of Cousin Itt just to see how this show would pull that off. I’d also enjoy getting more tributes to previous Addams Family works. Plus, while Doohan and Ortega found that Season 2 scene a bit wild, clearly it worked, and I'm looking forward to seeing how they play into that relationship next season.

It’s been two weeks since Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce officially became husband and wife, and we still can’t seem to stop talking about it. Fans are diving into who was invited (Karlie Kloss) and who wasn’t there (Swift’s godchildren), and that first look at her wedding ring. It’s not just Swifties and celebrities who are marveling over it, either, as one New York police officer commented that the celebrity wedding was unlike anything he’s seen in 35 years.

I imagine being a cop in NYC for three and a half decades would mean you’ve seen a little bit of everything, including parades, foreign dignitaries and other large-scale events. However, according to former NYPD department chief Kenneth Corey, there’s never been another wedding like Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s. He told The New York Times:

According to a police memo titled “Taylor Swift wedding at Madison Square Garden” that was obtained by the NYT, hundreds of police officers were expected to be on patrol. Streets were also shut down around Madison Square Garden, which the “Wi$h Li$t” singer paid New York City quite a bit to do.

While there were concerns that Penn Station would also be closed over the Fourth of July weekend (understandably rubbing New Yorkers the wrong way), it was reportedly not fully closed.

The Kansas City Chiefs tight end and the Life of a Showgirl artist’s nuptials fell during quite a busy time for the NYPD. Officers had already racked up a ton of overtime due to the New York Knicks’ NBA Finals games, championship and parade, not to mention the World Cup matches that the city hosted. In addition to Taylor Swift’s wedding, there were also other scheduled events for that weekend to celebrate the country’s 250th birthday. According to Kenneth Corey:

That certainly is a lot, even for “The City That Never Sleeps,” but Taylor Swift is no longer New York’s problem (until she returns home, of course). She and Travis Kelce reportedly jetted off to Big Sky, Montana, for a short getaway before heading to Orange County, California, for former Chiefs wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster’s wedding.

Their next stop was Palm Beach, Florida (!!!), on July 12, and who knows where the newlyweds will pop up next? (Robert Irwin is hard-pitching Australia, just saying.)

It’s pretty wild (some might say impressive) that Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s wedding was big enough to stun a former NYPD department chief, but I don’t think anybody really expected this power couple to go low-key with their big day.

Hopefully she’ll release photos and more official information at some point, but until then, we can continue to bask in all the things our Disney+ subscriptions have to offer in the Swiftie-verse, including two versions of The Eras Tour concert movie, the End of an Era docuseries and a live album with her Folklore: The Long Pond Studio Sessions special.

It’s a bittersweet day for Heartstopper fans, as the feature-length series finale Heartstopper Forever hits the 2026 movie calendar. While we’re excited to see what’s next for Charlie and Nick’s relationship (and all of our other favorite Alice Oseman-created characters), it also means the end is here. That’s a real shame, too, for how optimistic the LGBTQ+ rom-com’s four seasons have made me feel. Heartstopper Forever reviews are in, and critics are feeling all the feels about the end of this love story.

The series finale movie, which hit the Netflix schedule July 17, continues Heartstopper Season 3's plotlines, including Nick (Kit Connor) preparing to move hours away from Charlie (Joe Locke) for college and the teens trying to figure out who they are — both with and apart from each other. Saloni Gajjar of AV Club gives it a B+, saying the drawback of not having a full season is that Nick and Charlie’s friends are kept on the periphery, but that ultimately doesn’t take away from it being a “warm, fuzzy finale.” The critic says:

The series finale may indeed give us the warm and fuzzies, but Aramide Tinubu of Variety warns in his Heartstopper Forever review that it’s not all doodles and rainbows this time around. The movie offers the boys a mature ending, the critic says, as Alice Oseman ushers Charlie and Nick toward “the heartbreaking and enticing unknown,” explaining:

Victoria Luxford of Collider gives the iconic YA queer couple’s finale a 7 out of 10, also pointing out that the movie can feel rushed at times, mostly at the expense of the supporting cast. However, this season finale gives Nick and Charlie the sendoff they deserve with a beautiful portrayal of two people striving to accept that they deserve to be happy amidst their ever-changing lives. Luxford writes:

Nick Levine of NME gives Heartstopper Forever 3 out of 5 stars, pointing out that it’s not perfect and really would have benefited from a full Season 4. However, it successfully captures the excitement and heartbreak that comes with the end of high school, and it does so in a way that will satisfy the fanbase. Levine’s review reads:

Owen Myers of The Guardian also rates the movie 3 stars out of 5, pointing out a few shortcomings, including its overly modest portrayals of intimacy. However, saying Heartstopper Forever is too wholesome “is like complaining that your hot chocolate is too rich.” Even so, Myers says:

It definitely sounds like Heartstopper Forever is bringing all of the emotion, and while it’s disappointing to hear that the ever-important friend group members don’t get as much screen time as they deserve, critics and audiences seem to be equally satisfied with the series finale. The movie holds a 96% score on Rotten Tomatoes on both the Tomatometer and the Popcornmeter.

I can’t wait to revel in the final 114 minutes of this franchise. Heartstopper Forever (and all three preceding seasons of Heartstopper) can be streamed now with a Netflix subscription.

It’s no secret that Kim Kardashian enjoys the finer things in life, including multi-million dollar jewelry and lavish vacations filled with gorgeous scenery. Well, it would appear that the businesswoman and mother of four recently treated herself to a truly sweet piece of automotive machinery. Kardashian recently purchased a vintage Bronco, which is a move that mirrors one made by Sydney Sweeney. However, in Kardashian’s case, the price for this restored piece of work was quite steep.

Kardashian (45) specifically bought a 1973 forest green Ford Bronco, and she seems to be loving it so far. The starlet recently took to her Instagram to share photos of the utility vehicle, which she reportedly wants for exclusive use at her summer home in the mountains of Idaho. It’s an excellent-looking ride based on the photos Kardashian shared and, in her caption, she also thanked the company that sold it to her, Velocity Restorations. To say that Kardashian spared no expense for the SVU would be an understatement, as she reportedly bought it for a whopping $285,000, per TMZ. What made that purchase so expensive was that the Florida-based Velocity completely restored the truck, souping it up with all the bells and whistles. It apparently has a “Ranger Brown” interior, classic wood steering wheel, high-back seats and even a classic air-conditioning system. I’d imagine that such a description could make longtime car lovers nostalgic (and a bit envious).

It would seem that the Kardashians star also has brother-in-law Travis Barker (who married her sister, Kourtney, in 2022) for this purchase. The Blink-182 drummer apparently made Kim aware of Velocity, which apparently had this particular Bronco ready for immediate delivery. The truck was only just recently moved to Idaho after initially being shipped to Los Angeles, and I have to say it looks great against the green scenery in the area.

Still, the way in which the billionaire SKIMS founder procured her Ford vehicle is a far cry from how Sydney Sweeney (28) obtained hers. The actress, who recently concluded her run on Euphoria, bought her 1969 Bronco in 2020 for $48,000 at an auction, and then she proceeded to restore it herself. Per a report, that brought her investment up to roughly $150,000, which still isn’t as high as Kardashian’s purchase. Sweeny talks about her classic car fondly and, during her downtime from acting, she continues to work on it.

There’s something quite cool about the fact that Sweeney took the time to restore her car herself, as that’s definitely no small feat. But, due to the level of difficulty in doing that, I can understand Kardashian opting to go for a car that was already restored. In other words, there are different strokes for different folks. And, regardless of how the pair got their Ford vehicles, they can both relish in the fact that they own a sweet piece of automotive history.

When it comes to Kim Kardashian, what I’m wondering now is whether she’ll let boyfriend Lewis Hamilton (41) drive her new Bronco a bit. The man is, after all, a celebrated Formula One driver and lover of cars. If anything, Kardashian’s new truck could potentially serve as another bonding element for her and her beau. (That’s, of course, just an assumption, though.) However Kardashian and Sydney Sweeney choose to use their Broncos, I just hope they’ll (safely) enjoy them.
