While Game of Thrones' ending is a controversial one, folks have returned to Westeros thanks to its spinoffs (which are streaming with an HBO Max subscription). While we're currently in the midst of House of the Dragon Season 3, fans are also looking forward to the second season of A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms. However, the showrunner explained why filming its sophomore season has been brutal. And after hearing his recollection, I totally get that description.

A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms trolled the fans with its first few episodes, and its comedic tone set it apart from the rest of the GOT franchise. Eventually, the drama came with Duncan's trial, and I can't wait to see what happens in Season 2 of the book-to-screen adaptation. In a conversation with THR, creator/ showrunner Ira Parker spoke about how challenging it's been filming the second time around, offering:

Yikes. While one might have thought that the HBO show's scale and epic medieval battles made filming difficult, but for Season 2 it was mostly about the weather. Indeed, A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms had to stop filming Season 2 due to historic rains that flooded the set in Gran Canaria, Spain. One can only imagine what a logistical nightmare that created for the cast and crew, as well as how it affected the shooting schedule as a whole.

Later in the same interview, Parker went on to share more about the chaos that happened when the drought set surprisingly flooded in the middle of principal photography. In his words:

My mind is spinning, and I'm not actually involved in A Knight of the Seen Kingdoms. While one might assume that the hardest part of filming its sophomore season would be meeting fan expectations after Season 1, but that wasn't the case. Instead, they dealt with an unprecedented situation that must have been a headache to figure out. And production is still happening as a result of the weather that complicated things back in April.

It's not all bad, though. Ira Parker also praised his cast's work during the ups and downs of bringing Season 2 to life. In his words:

While the weather has brought new challenges to AKotSK, at least Parker could rely on his cast. Specifically, it's two leading actors who play Dunk and Egg, respectively. And at least the first season racked up a bunch of 2026 Emmy nominations.

A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms is currently expected to return for Season 2 sometime in early 2027. For now, new episodes of House of the Dragon air Sundays on HBO as part of the 2026 TV schedule.

Ever since The Late Show with Stephen Colbert ended on the 2026 TV schedule, it’s been interesting to see how the other late-night shows’ ratings have changed. Specifically, Jimmy Kimmel’s ratings have improved since Colbert’s series ended. Now, the host of Jimmy Kimmel Live, who is also a friend and outspoken supporter of Colbert, has wryly reacted to his own ratings boost.

Since May, Kimmel’s ratings have been on the rise, and they’re the highest they’ve been in six years among the 18 to 49 demographic. Specifically, Jimmy Kimmel Live had a record-breaking month in June, as it averaged 3.15 million viewers. Without context about what happened one month earlier, that’s great news. With the knowledge that Colbert’s show, which was the highest-rated late-night show, ended in May, it’s not as fantastic. When asked about this during a conversation with Variety, Kimmel “slyly” said:

Considering this statement was described as sly, and the track record Kimmel has of supporting Colbert, this comment feels quite sarcastic. The late-night host was very opposed to the cancellation of The Late Show, and he even put up a billboard to support Colbert’s Emmy campaign over his own last year. So even though, yes, a bump in ratings is good, it seems he is considering the unfortunate reason they could be that way.

Plus, in the same report where Kimmel spoke about his “strong” ratings, he also said the door is open if Stephen Colbert wants to come and host Jimmy Kimmel Live. In fact, Kimmel said he asked the former host of The Late Show if he wanted to be a guest host on the ABC program this summer. So, all in all, it’s pretty obvious the two comedians are on great terms, and it would seem that the one still hosting a late-night show is being wry about his own increased ratings.

Across the full season, Kimmel was up 34% from last season, growing from 1.95 million to 2.62 million. That means he’s had his most-watched season of Jimmy Kimmel Live since his 2014-2015 season. So, on a more sincere note, Kimmel explained that these numbers show that people are still interested in late night, and he means all late night, not just his own show:

There’s been plenty of conversations about whether late-night is dying, and the cancellation of Stephen Colbert’s show certainly amplified them. Jimmy Kimmel was also suspended for a few days, which led to questions about the future of the format. However, as he said, there’s clearly still an interest in these programs.

So, while The Late Show came to an end, Jimmy Kimmel Live and others will carry on. To watch Kimmel’s show, specifically, be sure to tune in to ABC weeknights at 11:35 p.m. ET.

The staff at TODAY experienced a pretty scary situation last week, when an intruder entered the studio where the NBC morning show is filmed after bypassing security. Thankfully, no one was physically harmed in the incident, but network executives reportedly began looking into their protocols immediately in hopes of preventing further incidents. Now, word has gone out to publicity firms regarding big changes for future guests.

A man was arrested July 16 after allegedly entering an unauthorized area of 30 Rockefeller Plaza’s Studio 1A in search of Al Roker. There, he encountered Craig Melvin and reportedly lunged at the news anchor and used a slur. The Today Show team has since made some adjustments, Variety reports, sending an email to publicists to alert them to “stricter security protocols effective immediately.” The message read:

A security guard was let go after it was reported that the intruder was able to enter TODAY’s studio by closely following behind an employee who used an access card to get inside. It seems that by only allowing two additional people per guest of the show to be in the studio, NBC is hoping to decrease the opportunity for people to piggyback on those with access.

The Today Show’s guests are still allowed to bring others with them; however, anyone beyond the two authorized by the guest will have to wait elsewhere during the interview. The email acknowledged this may be inconvenient, writing:

Craig Melvin, Al Roker and the rest of the team reportedly continued on with Thursday’s edition of The Today Show without mention of the incident. However, Melvin later assured fans via social media that he was “just fine,” and also addressed the situation on the air the following morning.

Savannah Guthrie, who has been through a lot this year after her mother was abducted from her home in February, was not at work when the man entered the studio. She will be taking some time off for the next few weeks for reasons unrelated to Nancy Guthrie’s disappearance or the scary Today Show intrusion.

The alleged trespasser, identified as Andrew Truelove, was charged with burglary as a hate crime, menacing as a hate crime, criminal trespass as a hate crime and harassment.

NCIS is such a massive franchise on the 2026 TV schedule, and it's been a mainstay on television for decades. So, it's hard to imagine a time when there were battles and questions about it. However, back in the early days, there were. In fact, there was one fight that happened between CBS and CSI over NCIS's title.

NCIS co-creator Don McGill appeared on the NCIS: Partners & Probies podcast, where he told hosts and NCIS stars Brian Dietzen and Diona Reasonover how the show’s title came to be. Even though it is only four letters long, it evidently became a pretty big problem for a different show whose title is only three letters long:

Considering how similar NCIS and CSI are when it comes to the title, it makes sense that the latter would make a big deal out of it, especially since they were on the same network. Plus, CSI was only a few seasons in by the time NCIS launched, so the series was still trying to find its footing before it went on to top the TV ratings. So the team at NCIS had to go through a couple of title variations during the show’s early years before eventually landing on the title that would stick for over 20 years:

It’s pretty insane knowing that the spinoff of JAG could’ve been stuck with Navy NCIS, which is saying Navy Naval Criminal Investigative Service. The second one wouldn’t have been as bad, since CSI’s full title is CSI: Crime Scene Investigation. It might have followed in CSI’s footsteps, but it wouldn’t have been nearly as close as NCIS and CSI. However, NCIS definitely fits better. It’s simple, it’s short, and it’s easier to say and tack a spinoff title onto.

I am definitely thankful that CSI ultimately backed off when NCIS was really starting to forge its own path, because it’s hard to imagine the franchise having any other name. Plus, Navy NCIS: Origins and Navy NCIS: New York don't have the same ring to them as just NCIS: Origins and NCIS: New York.

The NCIS franchise will be back on the 2026-2027 schedule with a total of four shows airing throughout the year. So there will be plenty more of the Naval Criminal Investigative Service, just not the entire name, and fans can watch most of the franchise now with a Paramount+ subscription.

As someone who got into the Dungeon Crawler Carl series by listening to the audiobooks, I'm not even remotely surprised to see so many positive reactions to the news out of Comic-Con this week that Jeff Hays would be voicing the role of Princess Donut for the book-to-screen adaptation.

As the narrator of all eight (so far) Dungeon Crawler Carl audiobooks, Hays does an outstanding job, particularly in the way he shifts from one voice to the next. I think it would've been a bit of a challenge to adjust to a new voice behind the beloved feline when the TV adaptation debuts, so I'm glad we won't have to. From her tone to her style of speaking and huffy reactions, Hays brings so much personality to Donut. It's a good sign that he's being included for the Dungeon Crawler Carl TV show, which will be available at some point for people with a Peacock subscription.

Can He Voice The AI Too?

Beyond the excited reactions I've seen around social media about Hays voicing Donut, I've also seen people mentioning another role they hope he'll voice. To be clear, no other roles have been cast for Dungeon Crawler Carl, but there are some fans still holding out hope that Hays will also voice the role of the system AI. This "character' in the book is responsible for announcing Neewww Achievements, loot boxes, warnings and other rules Carl and the other characters need to be aware of throughout the "game" they're playing. Like so many other characters in the DCC audiobooks, the AI's voice is distinct and full of personality (for better or cringy worse), and it'd be hard to get used to another voice behind it.

Seth MacFarlane And Alan Tudyk Are Other Great Suggestions I've Seen

Jeff Hays isn't the only name I've seen mentioned by fans online when talking about voicing the AI. With Seth MacFarlane on board as a producer, it's not a stretch to wonder if he'll provide a voice or appear on screen, and some fans think he'd be a great option for the AI. Alan Tudyk is another fantastic suggestion, given how many of his best performances involve his skill at voice acting. I've seen fans bring his name up when discussing casting for Mordecai too. Really, there are a lot of fun character options for Tudyk, if he's interested and in consideration for the series.

Obviously, fans have a lot of ideas and hopes for these roles, but as I said, nothing official has been announced for anyone, apart from Hays voicing Donut.

WARNING: We Don't Even Know How AI Will Appear In The DCC Series

I just want to throw this out there because I've been thinking about it, and it occurred to me that the AI is a DCC character with a bit more wiggle room for the adaptation than most. The AI appears primarily as text in the book, but is that how the show plans to depict it? They could include flashes of text boxes with audio to deliver the AI's updates and warnings, but is it possible that they'll develop the character to be an actual on-screen presence? Someone who pops in to provide updates rather than having them be text only?

I'm not saying this would be a better option than text on screen with a voice reading it, but how to bring the AI to the screen is presumably among the creative decisions that need to be made. Cost could factor in, especially when we consider the likely abundance of visual effects that will be necessary to bring this wild story to life.

At the end of the day, I just hope they do whatever works best to bring the character into the TV show and ideally maintain all of its personality and weirdness. Yes, that includes the creepy way it talks about Carl's feet.

We'll have to wait and see what updates come out. Fans are obviously excited to know who will be playing Donut's co-lead, Carl in the TV series, and there are so many other roles that need to be cast. It's going to be exciting to see what updates pop up as the series continues to be developed.

Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon have made their mark on the entertainment industry with The Morning Show, as women taking a stand both in front of the camera, starring as fictional TV hosts, and behind it as executive producers of the series. So it’s not surprising that the impending end of one of Apple TV’s best original series drew mixed emotions from the pair. There were both tears and laughter after they wrapped The Morning Show Season 5.

The actresses — who first met when they played sisters on Friends back in 2000 — confirmed this week that Season 5 will be The Morning Show’s last. That announcement came alongside images and videos from behind the scenes that show both the love amongst the cast and the bevy of emotions that come with closing this chapter. Jennifer Aniston wrote on Instagram that she was “laughing and crying,” posting:

The first image of Reese Witherspoon caught in the middle of a huge, open-mouthed laugh seems to show how much fun these two could have, while the next slide shows how much they all care about each other.

Mark Duplass holds both Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon in a hug as they appear to cry, kissing each on their heads. In a statement confirming the TV show’s cancellation, Aniston said they’d all become such a family. She said:

It apparently didn’t come as a surprise that this would be The Morning Show’s final season, so hopefully that allows them to bring each character’s narrative to a satisfying end.

Reese Witherspoon also shared an emotional Instagram post — a video that included some big hugs with Jennifer Aniston, a good bit of her dancing and a peek at some of the incoming Season 5 cast. Check it out:

In addition to plenty of familiar faces, Reese Witherspoon’s video showed glimpses of Reneé Rapp and Lizzy Caplan, who are joining The Morning Show’s final season along with Jeff Daniels, Jesse Williams, Sean Hayes and more. In her own statement, Witherspoon — who celebrated her 50th birthday this year — said working on the drama series was “the honor of a lifetime”:

Joining Reese Witherspoon and Jennifer Aniston for one more round of storylines pulled from real-world headlines are Billy Crudup, Mark Duplass, Nestor Carbonell, Karen Pittman, Nicole Beharie and Jon Hamm. Unfortunately, Greta Lee appears to really be gone after we saw Stella’s career ruined by an AI chatbot in Season 4.

The Morning Show Season 5 won’t be ready in time to make the 2026 TV schedule, so pull up your Apple TV subscription and make sure you’re caught up to watch the final season when it premieres in 2027.

Despite Lyric Medeiros setting the stage for them both to stay in the house, Rome Seymour was sent packing at the end of Week 2, another big win for the Tool Shed alliance. The majority alliance of Big Brother Season 28 had a chance to continue their steamroll with the Week 3 Head of Household, and the odds of that happening are good.

CinemaBlend was watching Big Brother online when the live feeds returned, and can confirm the Week 3 HOH result is great news for one Houseguest, but bad news for two others. Obviously, there are many others affected, but these Houseguests stick out to me more than others.

Kamu Won The Week 3 HOH

Kamu Kirk won the Week 3 HOH, which is another great win for the veterans and the Tool Shed alliance. While it may be disappointing for those hoping for unexpected targets and shocking twists, this is a huge win for Rick Devens, Angela Murray, and Dee Valladares, who found a good soldier who will stick to the script and grant them another week of safety. Assuming Dee and Angela don't do anything reckless and intentionally blow up the Tool Shed, it'll be smooth sailing for them.

Why Kamu's Win Is Bad News For Jason And Lyric

The big losers in Kamu's HOH week are Lyric Medeiros and Jason De Puy. Losing Rome was a huge blow to both of their games, and Kamu nominating them potentially sets the precedent for all future HOH winners to put them on the block until they're evicted from Big Brother.

It's a bad situation to be in, and may dissuade other Houseguests from associating with them. Jason and Lyric only really have each other to lean on at the moment, and will need a lot of luck to escape this week unscathed, with Kamu already stating he plans to nominate Lyric and backdoor Jason if he has the opportunity.

Why Kamu's Win Is Great News For Taylor

The big winner in Kamu's Head of Household week is someone that I'm shocked I don't hear more people talking about. Taylor Brown is in good with Kamu, and despite suggestions from the Tool Shed, he's made it clear he doesn't want her on the block this week. This could mark three weeks Taylor has skated by without being nominated, and she's played the game so far without getting blood on her hands.

Granted, she hasn't made any big moves in Season 28 either, but if you want to win Big Brother, Taylor is playing the popular early game strategy of laying low. At a time when it feels many Houseguests are competing for the spotlight and running the house, it's a great position to be the one unaffiliated but also without enemies.

This means, when the hammer does drop on this alliance, and former allies start to turn on each other, people like Taylor can come alive as critical pieces to new alliances. I could see her easily sliding in with the Red Corner if they go solo again, and finding some protection for when others get a chance to target her. I'll be watching her this week and waiting to see if she capitalizes on this opportunity.

Warning! Spoilers ahead for the Season 19 finale of Criminal Minds: Evolution, streaming now with a Paramount+ subscription.

Throughout its original run, Criminal Minds had some pretty shocking character exits, and that hasn’t changed with the revival. Criminal Minds: Evolution just wrapped its 19^th season on the 2026 TV schedule, which was a roller coaster from start to finish. Between additional character deaths, such as Luke’s beloved dog Roxy, and some surprising twists, the latest season never slowed down. When it came to the finale, everything was heightened, and it included yet another character exit. And this one is definitely a bummer.

Thursday’s finale, “Bad Blood,” officially saw the last of Zach Gilford’s villainous Elias Voit/Sicarius, at least for now. Voit had to save his daughter Holly from this season’s unsub James Crowley/The Fan (Justin Kirk). Crowley, who had lured Voit to escape prison, nearly ended up killing him, until Holly got the drop on him and stabbed him. Voit took the fall for his daughter, and he was transferred to another prison to serve a whopping 64 consecutive life sentences. Gilford told Us Weekly that seeing Voit go out the way he did gave him a mix of emotions, especially knowing that this would be it for him:

Fans were introduced to Voit in Season 16, the first season of Criminal Minds: Evolution. Of course, the show has had unsubs that have returned numerous times, but he was really Criminal Minds' first season-long unsub. He was then brought back for the next two seasons, once again giving the BAU headaches with his sarcastic and sadistic attitude... while also helping them at times. What was always his top priority was his family, so it makes sense that he would do whatever it took to protect his daughter, even if it meant never getting out.

That being said, Voit definitely made things a bit more entertaining, and you never knew what he could have up his sleeve that could harm or help the team. Even though some people may have found his arc was overdone because they’re not used to seeing the same unsub on screen for more than a few episodes, it’s hard to imagine Evolution without him. Gilford shared his thoughts on leaving the series, and I am just as bummed out as he is:

Gilford has confirmed that he is, in fact, no longer on Criminal Minds. But since the show has found ways to bring Voit back before, it’s possible this won’t be the last we see of him. It might just be a little longer than fans are used to. The Friday Night Lights alum revealed just how hard it was to say goodbye to Voit and the show, and I honestly never thought I would feel sad about no longer seeing an unsub on Criminal Minds:

Criminal Minds: Evolution has already been renewed for Season 5, the 20^th season overall of Criminal Minds, so if anything, fans won’t have to wait too long for more. The Season 19 finale set up the next season, with body parts being sent to various FBI field offices across the country. So there is going to be a lot to look forward to, even if Elias Voit isn’t involved. All 19 seasons of Criminal Minds are streaming on Paramount+, so it can’t hurt to do a rewatch while waiting.

I’ve been a big fan of watching Alan Ritchson’s Reacher with my Amazon Prime Video subscription since Season 1. In fact, it’s probably (now) my second favorite show on Amazon, and of course I’m also excited for the Neagley spinoff. However, in recent days we did get a new announcement about the upcoming 2026 TV series that has me a little concerned. Hear me out.

Previously, Reacher Had Been A Winter TV Show

For its first three seasons, Reacher was a winter TV show, premiering after the holiday season. It hasn’t had the exact same trajectory, however, premiering in February during Season 1 and 3 and in December for Season 2. It’s not like the show premieres exactly at the same time every year, but prior to this it had not been attempting to compete with network TV’s fall lineups.

Instead, it was doing its own thing during wintertime and premiering at times where it would not directly compete with network TV. Primetime is basically off the air in December. Reacher was essentially competing with the likes of soon-to-air Christmas movies in Season 2. In Seasons 1 and 3, while audiences have been trained to tune in for winter premieres, those are frequently in January. February is a month where people don’t like to get out and the shiny newness of returning network TV has dulled a bit. In short, the winter has been very good to Reacher.

Everything is changing with Season 4, however, and that also directly impacts the Neagley spinoff, which does have me concerned. It all has to do with Amazon Prime completely shifting its airing strategy for both Reacher and its spinoff.

Neagley Is Going To Have To Compete With Fall TV

Reacher Season 4 is coming, and soon. While I’ve been excited with Alan Ritchson calling it the “best” one yet, it’s not getting its traditional wintertime release. Instead, the powers that be have pushed Reacher to the summer, with Neagley following right after.

It was Maria Sten who broke the news on social last week, and who has said in general a Neagley spinoff is very much needed. The way the structure looks right now?

• Reacher Season 4 will run from August 12-September 16th
• Neagley will drop in full on September 16th

This has its pros and cons, and I’m not fully mad at every choice Amazon has made here. First, I like that Amazon is wrapping Reacher’s finale onto the same date as Neagley Season 1. Secondly, given we don’t know fully if audiences will embrace Neagley as an extension of the Ritchson-led series, I don’t think it’s necessarily a poor choice to drop all of the spinoff episodes at once, at least for Season 1. (They can always talk about spacing Season 2 out if it becomes a megahit.)

I just don’t understand why the streamer is shifting the series up so it’s butting up against fall TV. Right now, for example, my appointment TV viewing is nearly wide open. I just finished The Five-Star Weekend (and want more!) and House of the Dragon is airing on Sunday nights, but I’m mostly just rewatching old seasons of Survivor with my Paramount Plus subscription.

That’s going to change drastically when fall TV comes back and I watch everything from game shows like The Floor and newcomer The Traitors: New Blood to dramas, sitcoms and even cable fodder like South Park, which actually drops on the same day as Neagley. Heck, even Monday Night Football kicks off on September 14th, just two days before Neagley hits. My fall TV dance card gets full fast.

Sure, some network TV doesn’t hit the schedule until October now, which gives the show a bit more of a window than it might’ve had a few years ago, and this new Reacher and Neagley schedule won’t deter me from watching personally, but I still have concerns about whether it's the best choice. Winter was Reacher’s. It could have been Neagley’s thing, too. That schedule worked great for me and other TV viewers, and I just don’t get why they’ve changed a format that was already working well.

I do hope it pays off, and I hope it pays off in blood and violence. Just kidding. Sort of.

Even though Clayface’s chilling new trailer has held the bulk of my recent attention, I’m still beyond pumped for the upcoming DC TV show Lanterns as the official next entry in the live-action DCU. Especially now that we’re less than a month away from seeing Kyle Chandler’s Hal Jordan suited up and investigating a mysterious murder alongside Aaron Pierre’s John Stewart. Lots of questions still remain, however, with comic book sorta-villain Sinestro at the heart of many.

In the new series streaming via HBO Max subscription, Sinestro (played by Ulrich Thomsen) is a former member of the Green Lantern Corps who was corrupted by the fearful energy of yellow light, and was booted from the Corps after a coup gone wrong. But before all of that, he shared a history with Hal Jordan, serving as a friend and mentor, so one can imagine how shaken up Hal was by the betrayal.

Star Kyle Chandler addressed that key relationship and more in an interview with EW. The Friday Night Lights vet is a practical guy, and both he and Aaron Pierre took more grounded approaches to exploring their characters' backstories. Speaking directly about Hal and Sinestro's past, Chandler shared:

It sounds like the actor was being as vague as humanly possible as not to reveal anything too specific, but that isn't stopping me from being beyond excited about it. I wonder if all the "little things" Chandler created for the characters will be explored on-screen, or if they're only in his head to bring more context to his performance.

While viewers don't yet have a clear idea of what Hal was like before things went sour with Sinestro, everything we've seen in Lanterns' previews makes him look overly pompous and lacking in empathy, patience, and several other virtues. Was he always like that, or did that hard-edged nature only start to form after Sinestro embraced fear?

I really hope we get to actually see Hal and Sinestro working together with the Green Lantern Corps in at least one episode. I'm perfectly fine with just hearing about their history through dialogue, but showing is always more functional than just telling.

To that end, I'm also eager to see how much Lanterns will showcase Hal's relationship with Carol Ferris, since she's also been known as a cause for Hal's brusque personality. (Also, is Laura Linney portraying Carol or what?) The fact that we haven't had a clear introduction for her makes me wonder if something awful happened to her, and if Sinestro was possibly responsible for it.

I guess I could spend all day speculating about what might go down when Lanterns arrives, but let's just watch the latest trailer instead.

Fear not, for Lanterns will make its debut on HBO Max on Sunday, August 16.

Even if you’ve never seen an episode of Baywatch, you’re still probably very familiar with the iconic red one-piece swimsuit that the female lifeguards wear on the show. It’s as famous, if not more so, than the show itself. And with filming for the reboot underway on the beach in California, we’re about to see a whole lot more of its new cast. Along with seeing more of them, we're also learning more about working on the show, and why filming on the beach and in that suit is both a chore and an honor.

Cast member Shay Mitchell spoke about working on the beach, putting on the swimsuit, and how, while it is very exciting to wear the iconic red costume and act by the ocean, it is, well, work. It's true, filming in a swimsuit may not always be so blissful, as the cast of the original series can attest; however, it's also great. Speaking to those points, the Pretty Little Liars star said on Today with Jenna & Sheinelle:

While she didn’t dive into details about why she doesn’t want to go to the beach for a while after they wrap on Baywatch, it’s not hard to imagine why that’s the case. When you spend so many hours in the California sun, it’s hot, you have to pick sand out of your hair, and it’s likely exhausting. However, overall, as the actress said, “The office is great,” but the beach is her job now, and work-life balance is important.

But don’t misunderstand, Mitchell is still grateful for the opportunity to wear that swimsuit, which is such an identifiable part of the series. The Dollface star said:

Mitchell is no stranger to iconic TV shows. After seven seasons playing Emily on Pretty Little Liars, she’s made her move to Baywatch as Trina, a former lawyer who left a top-tier firm to become a full-time lifeguard. Joining her on the beach, Stephen Amell is set to play Captain Hobie, the now-adult son of David Hasselhoff’s character from the original series, and reality star Brooks Nader will play Captain Selene.

The original series debuted in 1989, running for 11 seasons with an ensemble that, along with Hasselhoff, included Pamela Anderson, Carmen Electra, and Jason Momoa. Just because the reboot is a fresh take on Baywatch, from Burn Notice creator Matt Nix and executive producer McG, that doesn’t mean you won’t see some familiar faces. Actor David Chokachi, who played Cody Madison for three seasons on the original show, will be returning, while Erika Eleniak, Kelly Packard and Michael Bergin will guest star. Oh, and we can't forget the fact that this new show will also take place on the beach and feature those iconic red swimsuits.

Until the reboot debuts, we won’t know much about what type of stories they might tackle over the 12-episode season, but any good TV drama will likely have its share of tension, romance, and various obstacles to overcome. It will also be interesting to see how relationships evolve among the new cast members. According to Shay Mitchell, the Baywatch reboot will focus its first season on the friendships between the characters:

With the series being based around Mitch Buchannon’s son, Hobie, and a handful of familiar O.G. Baywatch faces already set to appear, the door is open to plenty of Baywatch cameos, especially if it’s a hit. It sounds like all the pieces are in place for what could be a really fun time, so it will be interesting to see how it all plays out once it debuts.

However, in the meantime, I hope the cast is having fun filming on the beach in those incredible red swimsuits. I hope they get a nice break from them too, because as Mitchell implied, you can't be on the beach all the time, and while this gig is an honor, it's also still a job.

Things couldn't be going better for the reality television veterans in Big Brother. Rick Devens gave them some added power and comfort with his Week 2 Head of Household win, and the fact that he also won the Week 2 veto only made it sweeter. With the security of the Tool Shed, they can skate on to the midpoint of the game without much trouble, so of course they're probably about to ruin it by overthinking things.

Dee Valladares and Rick may know Survivor, but as Cirie Fields learned in Season 25, Big Brother is a different beast. In their eagerness to make moves, they may just blow up their majority alliance, and Angela Murray's paranoia is not helping.

The Vets Are Discussing Moves That Could Break Up The Crossovers

With it looking increasingly likely that this week ends with either Rome Seymour or Jason De Puy walking out of Big Brother in Week 2, Dee and Angela thought it was time to prepare to target their next enemies. Unfortunately, they're convinced that Crossover-alliance members Barrett Pfeiffer and Drew Campbell need to go to protect their position.

That alone is messier than Angela Murray badmouthing past Houseguests on the live feeds, but it gets worse. Angela and Dee are trying to form new separate alliances with people like Lala Verrett and Taylor Brown, but are realizing their current goals don't align with their new allies. It's messy, and despite Devens trying to advocate against turning on Barrett and Drew, it looks like the chances of that happening are growing, and it'd be the end of the Crossovers.

The Vets Have A Decent Chance To Steamroll The Season With The Tool Shed, And These Overplays Could Ruin That

While others watching Big Brother online may prefer the vets to blow up their games and shake up the house dynamic, I know Survivor fans may be upset that Dee and Devens might not be long for the house if they do this. I can't guarantee it'll happen, but what I can say is we've seen a past Survivor player engage in this kind of overthinking before.

Cirie Fields made similar mistakes when she played Big Brother in Season 25, opting to immediately target members of her own alliance rather than completely handle those outside of her numbers first. She went after solid allies Hisam Goueli and Red Utley to ensure she had a better grip on the alliance, but then dwindling those numbers ultimately led to her losing her closest allies, Izzy Gleicher and her son Jared Fields, soon after. Maybe Survivor players just can't adapt to the slow pace of Big Brother, and they try to make too many moves too fast?

The Tool Shed alliance, which consists of both the Crossovers and Red Corner alliances, was only recently set up. I wouldn't be surprised if that alliance quickly crumbles once word travels around that Dee and Angela are openly discussing cannibalizing it by targeting Barrett and Drew. I certainly wouldn't trust the alliance was real after that, and think this is going to blow up for the vets in a big way. I mean, at the end of the day, couldn't the Red Corner sans Devens just bring in Drew and Barrett and gang up on the vets?

We'll see how this all plays out after the Week 2 eviction, which airs on CBS on Thursday, July 23rd at 8:00 p.m. ET. Big Brother is delivering top-tier drama with Season 28 at the moment, and if The Crossovers blow up in Week 3, I'd clear my schedule to watch it all unfold on the live feeds!

It has been a wild year for Taylor Frankie Paul, and I’m not sure there’s an end to the drama in sight. Ever since her season of The Bachelorette was pulled from the 2026 TV schedule, the MomTok leader has been battling exes Dakota Mortensen and Tate Paul — the fathers of her three children — for custody. Naturally, It’s all been playing out in public, too, as TFP is perpetually online and known for being an open book. To that end, she posted recently about dealing with online haters.

And boy are there lots of haters. Taylor Frankie Paul is the very definition of a polarizing figure, as The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives star has staunch defenders in her corner, as well as a litany of people condemning her every move. A recent Instagram Story showed her giving advice to a friend via text on how to deal with the judgment of others, writing:

Everybody knows the Internet can be a toxic place, and it’s easy for people to lash out in really hurtful ways. Lots of celebrities have reminded fans that they, too, are affected by what others say — Billie Eilish has lost sleep over hateful comments, Kylie Jenner lets them fuel her and Selena Gomez highly recommends social media breaks.

Taylor Frankie Paul, however, doesn’t see the criticism as all bad, as her text to her friend continued:

The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives star feels like the negative feedback is a necessary evil of success, and she went on to say that random people’s judgments or opinions about her aren’t her business. That hasn’t necessarily stopped Taylor Frankie Paul from clapping back at friends and strangers alike as she continues her custody battles.

A leaked video of the fight that ended in Taylor Frankie Paul’s 2023 arrest — which appeared to show her throwing chairs at Dakota Mortensen and accidentally injuring her daughter in the process — was what ultimately led ABC to hold off on airing her season of The Bachelorette. Since then, many fans have maintained hope that the show will air at some point, while others insist there are no plans to do so.

Not helping the matter is Taylor Frankie Paul’s ongoing drama with Dakota Mortensen and Tate Paul. While TFP has been slowly gaining her custody rights back of Ever (the toddler she shares with Mortensen), her ex-husband Tate filed for (and was denied) an emergency change to their custody agreement after she voluntarily entered rehab for a couple of days in June.

The most recent development saw Utah’s Division of Child and Family Services asking a court to find that Taylor Frankie Paul's kids are “abused, neglected or dependent” after a visit to her home. Paul has addressed a lot of what came out of that visit extensively on social media, and we’ll have to see what, if anything, comes from it.

One thing TFP can pretty much bank on is that she’ll continue to get love from her supporters and hate from her online critics. Hopefully she deals with it all in the healthiest way possible.

After years of being featured on 90 Day Fiancé, Sumit Singh is finally coming to the United States with Jenny. It appears they'll try to move back to her home country so she can continue treatment for her ALS. Unfortunately, there's a catch, but hopefully not one that stops this from actually happening.

The news comes from Jenny's daughter, Christina, who discussed the situation on Instagram. As the couple's marriage story plays out on the 2026 TV schedule via 90 Day: The Last Resort, Christina explained why Sumit is now making the trip to the U.S. after spending years in India:

Christina added that she is traveling to India soon to be with her mother and will be accompanying them back on the flight to the United States should everything go well with Sumit's approval process. That said, she clarified that Sumit will not be pursuing a green card, despite being able to do so as Jenny's spouse.

The decision may be surprising and may remind others that Sumit has long said he doesn't want to live in the United States. That's not the reason why they're choosing to opt out of the green card route, however, as Christina explained, it comes down to time and the process involved:

It was not revealed the length of which Sumit's visa will allow him to stay, and what ALS treatments Jenny is undergoing or how long they will take. One does have to wonder, however, if she'll continue to live in the United States and he'll eventually have to go back to India without her.

Maybe that's putting the wagon before the horse because, as of writing, we don't know if Sumit will get approval to come to the United States or not. Christina mentioned that India has one of the busiest visa processes in the world, so it could take a while before he even gets an appointment for consideration.

As mentioned, Jenny and Sumit are currently part of Season 3 of 90 Day: The Last Resort. They've tackled a litany of issues thus far, including the fact that the restaurant they opened failed and Sumit took out a number of loans she didn't know about. Those who aren't watching can catch up with an HBO Max subscription, though the fact that Sumit is attempting to travel with her may spoil whether they're still together after the spinoff.

90 Day: The Last Resort has given them some lighter moments in the series involving sex jokes and the like, which is nice. Especially since, with her ongoing ALS treatment, we don't really know when Jenny will next appear in the TLC series after this latest appearance.

When the Dutton family parted ways after Yellowstone ended, two new shows were born: Kayce’s CBS spinoff, Marshals, and Rip and Beth’s Paramount+ show, Dutton Ranch. Now, we’re learning more about what it was like to continue these characters’ stories after the flagship show ended. In terms of Rip and Beth’s project, Cole Hauser opened up about why “everything changed” after Yellowstone ended and they started working on this Texas-set show.

Now, Kelly Reilly has shared her thoughts on how Beth changed between Yellowstone and Dutton Ranch. Ed Harris has also shared his grievances about working on the show. Plus, with a change in showrunner after Season 1, it was clear that this production wasn’t all smooth sailing. Cole Hauser also admitted that returning to Rip and his story was a “challenge.” He laid out the reasons why too, telling FilmInside:

Kelly Reilly has also spoken about how not having Taylor Sheridan captaining the spinoff impacted her too. He was the driving force of Yellowstone, so of course, new creatives mean change is bound to happen.

Plus, with the only major returning players being Hauser, Reilly, Finn Little and Christina Alexandra Voros, who has directed episodes for a lot of Sheridan’s shows, including Yellowstone, it’s not like they could work like this was Yellowstone Season 6. No, there was a whole new team they had to collaborate with, which meant they all had to learn how to work together for essentially the first time.

On top of that, over the last few months, there have been reports about alleged tension between the cast and creator/former showrunner Chad Feehan. While we don’t know exactly what led to his departure, it has been alleged that Ed Harris’ complaints about his character and the show had an impact on Feehan’s exit and the hiring of Benjamin Cavell as the showrunner for Season 2.

Alleged drama aside, Hauser did confirm that working with a different team and only having a few returning players made working on Dutton Ranch difficult. However, he still enjoyed his time, and he’s also excited to start working on Season 2. To that point, he said:

We worked our asses off this year. And I don't think a lot of the outside noise or the thought of 'What's the weight of this show?' was really apparent to me at the time. It was about putting my head down and working my ass off with what I had around me, the writers that we had, the new writers that we had. We had to figure out on our feet how to really perform and tell a story. I'm proud of what we accomplished, and I'm looking forward to doing it again.

I’m also looking forward to them doing this again. However, this time, I hope it’s a bit easier for all of them.

I also hope we’ll get to see new episodes sooner rather than later, too. Dutton Ranch was renewed for Season 2 a few weeks before Season 1’s finale, and we know production is set to start in early 2027. So, here’s hoping the cast and crew have an easier time making this series, and we’ll get to see this Yellowstone continuation thrive as it gets back in the saddle for its sophomore season.

NCIS has remained strong over the last two decades and continues to do so as the series prepares to head into its 24^th season on the 2026 TV schedule. Even with Mark Harmon’s exit believed to be the “death knell” of NCIS, it’s definitely managed to hold its own. Harmon had joined NCIS as Leroy Jethro Gibbs when it was still just a JAG backdoor pilot, and when it came time to cast the character, a co-creator’s wife made a spot-on prediction about Harmon.

When they were casting for NCIS, plenty of A-listers were being tossed around for the role of Gibbs, such as Harrison Ford. Not surprisingly, Harmon was on the short list for potential actors to play Leroy Jethro Gibbs that CBS had sent out. What is surprising is that one particular person had a feeling that if Harmon got the role, NCIS would go far. Co-creator Don McGill shared on the NCIS: Partners & Probies podcast that his wife actually predicted the show’s success:

Of course, it’s hard to predict how far a show will really go, especially one that is the spinoff of an already successful show. And NCIS struggled during its early years, so you couldn’t really tell just how long it was going to last. Obviously, McGill’s wife turned out to be right, and I am so thankful that she was. I can’t imagine NCIS without Harmon as Gibbs, and he’s still such a big part of the franchise, so much so that he’s returning for NCIS: Origins’ upcoming third season.

There was no way of knowing just how much of a success NCIS would turn into, and I’m sure even McGill’s wife couldn’t have predicted 24 seasons and seven spinoffs by 2026. There are a lot of pieces of the puzzle that have made it successful, between the cast and the storylines, but you can’t argue that Harmon was definitely a big part of that, at least during the first half of the run.

Meanwhile, McGill’s wife may have predicted NCIS’ success because of Harmon, but Harmon admitted to being shocked that NCIS is still on the air. It did not do well when it was first starting out, struggling with ratings and trying to really find its footing. But knowing that it’s doing as well it is today is pretty remarkable. After over two decades, the NCIS franchise remains one of the most successful television franchises ever, and it doesn’t seem to be dying any time soon.

During the fall TV season, fans will be getting three NCIS shows, including Season 3 of NCIS: Origins, which will see Harmon reprising his role as Gibbs for all 10 episodes. Additional details about his appearance should be revealed in the coming weeks, but fans can watch the first two seasons of the prequel and all seasons of NCIS with a Paramount+ subscription.

Kenan Thompson has been a consistent talent on Saturday Night Live for an astounding 23 years, while Seth MacFarlane has also been making us laugh with some of the best animated TV shows for adults for over two decades. The Good Burger alum has now signed on to MacFarlane’s new Family Guy spinoff, and I’m actually surprised they haven’t collaborated before outside of SNL.

Stewie, an upcoming Fox animated sitcom that’s centered around Seth MacFarlane’s fan-favorite Family Guy baby, was announced earlier this year. In addition to the creator and Family Guy voice actor Mike Henry, several names have been added to the voice cast, including Kenan Thompson.

SNL’s longest-tenured cast member will voice Royal, who is described (per Variety) as “one of Stewie’s new friends who’s got a ‘Hell no’ attitude about the hazards of Stewie’s adventures.” Kenan Thompson has done plenty of voice work in his career, but somehow never for an episode of Family Guy, American Dad!, The Cleveland Show or any other Seth MacFarlane project.

He’s not the only Saturday Night Live talent tapped to join Stewie either. Vanessa Bayer, who left the show in 2017 after seven years, will voice the titular character’s teacher Morgan, “who should probably spend more time watching the kids, and less time partying.”

The trio appeared together in multiple sketches when Seth MacFarlane hosted SNL back in 2012. They joined Bill Hader in a hilarious puppet show sketch, and then Kenan Thompson got to pull out his Steve Harvey impression for a bit about giving MacFarlane’s character an extreme makeover, which you can see below:

It’s fun to see that these three will reunite after so many years, and they’ll be joined by Melissa O’Neil, Aaron Lee, and Jessica Lowe, who were also part of the Stewie casting announcement.

So what can Family Guy fans expect when the Griffin family’s youngest member becomes the main character? The official synopsis reads:

Stewie will be the second spinoff series from Family Guy following The Cleveland Show, which aired for four seasons from 2009 to 2013 and can be streamed with a Hulu subscription. Both Stewie and the flagship series’ 25th season are expected to premiere in 2027, so unfortunately nothing for the 2026 TV schedule.

With this cast list — particularly the first non-SNL collaboration between Seth MacFarlane and Kenan Thompson — hopefully it will be worth the wait.

If you’ve been following the timeline of the final year Stephen Colbert spent on the air at CBS, you may remember the day he announced the show was being canceled. You may remember moments like the bittersweet time he and Emma Stone realized it was their last interview or the time Colbert’s wife shared the note he’d kept on his desk for years. Amidst all of this touching stuff, CBS was painting a financial portrait of The Late Show and how the money allegedly just didn’t work. But I didn’t realize the Eye Network had offered to let Colbert see the books.

That’s apparently what happened, however. Colbert had a meeting with James “Babydoll” Dixon, the talent manager behind himself and Jimmy Kimmel, among others. He said he should have known something was up because Dixon never, ever came into his office.

Dixon said there was an offer on the table from CBS to let the two men go over the financials, but Colbert declined. That was CBS’ business; his business was show business. Here’s what he told THR about passing on the opportunity before he was officially let go.

We’ve learned tidbits about how Stephen Colbert found out about The Late Show ending before. The late night host said he was having a bit of a break just before taping when the news came down the pipeline. Other reports have indicated Colbert was told the news on July 16th, 2025. The announcement was made on TV one day later on July 17th. His show ended 10 months later on May 21st, 2026.

CBS has stated the decision was “purely financial” and telling Colbert he could look at the books would seemingly square with that, though others have been skeptical. Jimmy Kimmel outright stated he feels “these are made up numbers.” It feels reasonably probably that if Jimmy Kimmel Live! were to be canceled, the man is going to want to look at the books.

Tony Shalhoub is no stranger to comedic roles. While he’s most known for playing Monk, the OCD detective, I never realized the Wings vet could have been in the mix for Seinfeld’s funniest moments. I definitely wouldn't have guessed the character he auditioned for. Given his previous characters, the obvious choice to me would have been the offbeat neighbor Kramer, even knowing that it wouldn't have matched up with Michael Richards' take.

However, the actor dropped quite the "what could have been" bombshell when he visited the TODAY show to promote his upcoming Monk movie. While a lot of buzz online suggested he did audition to play Kramer, Shalhoub was quick to clear things up:

Talk about mind-blowing news. I don’t know if anyone can picture him as George. Not that I don’t fully believe Shalhoub could sell that character. He convincingly played both an alien in Men in Black whose head grew back after Tommy Lee Jones’ Agent K shot it off, and the only relaxed member of the crew in Galaxy Quest. He’s one of those actors who knows how to land comedic timing every time, and that’s why I’ve always adored him. All the proof you need to do is watch Monk, which was a part he embodied so convincingly it was revived for Mr. Monk’s Last Case.

That said, I still can’t wrap my mind around him as George. Selfishly, I’m glad he lost the part to Alexander, and not just because the right actor got the part. If he had joined the Seinfeld cast, we may never have gotten our favorite Italian taxi driver on the sitcom Wings. (The latter can be streamed via Paramount+ subscription.) The two sitcoms overlapped during the ‘90s, with Shalhoub joining Wings in Season 3.

Though it seems the neurotic New Yorker George wasn't the only character the actor lost out on due to a certain actor. When asked, "What happened?" by the TODAY hosts, he a simple yet on brand answer:

Naturally, Shalhoub has no ill will toward Alexander for getting the part. He states that it "depends on how good or bad" an actor is in the role, and I think we all agree that Alexander nailed it. Though I can't help picturing the actor in Monk's trademark suit (he wore the same one every day).

The two did end up working together on The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel. However, that's not the first time they joined forces. Alexander was one of Monk's popular guest stars, having showed up in Season 4, Episode 1, “Mr. Monk and the Other Detective.” The actor played Shalhoub's opposite: a messy, unorganized private detective.

Shalhoub recently put the suit back on for Mr. Monk's Last Case. The streaming film followed Monk in a darker place as he contemplated ending his life. Though the revival was first teased when Shalhoub reunited with the cast during COVID for a new scene. He’s also become known for his role as Abe Weissman in Amazon Prime’s story of female independence in The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel.

Perhaps one day we'll see Shalhoub and Alexander working together on a new project. Maybe even on another Monk movie. Fingers crossed!

They say game recognizes game, and I feel like that’s what’s going on between the New York Knicks’ superstar, Jalen Brunson and Law & Order: SVU’s lead, Mariska Hargitay. The two have become pals, despite their very different careers, and now the basketball player wants to do a cameo on Law & Order: SVU. Now, along with speaking about that dream again, he also shared the sweetest comments about Hargitay.

Literally, right after the Knicks won their first championship in 53 years, Jalen Brunson said that the next thing he wanted to do was “try and get on SVU.” Considering Hargitay is a diehard fan of his NBA team and has been friends with the point guard for a while now, I don’t think this is a far-fetched dream. However, it hasn’t been confirmed yet, so Brunson is still campaigning, as he told Variety:

Well, that’s just the sweetest thing ever. Obviously, I know Brunson shows up for Hargitay (for example, he went and saw her Broadway play), and it’s hard to miss Hargitay courtside at Knicks games, whether she’s wearing a Stevie Knicks shirt with Taylor Swift or not. However, it’s always wonderful to see the two gush about each other.

Their appreciation and respect for one another is abundant too. For example, after the Knicks won, Hargitay was interviewed at their victory parade. She was asked what Brunson means to New York City, and in response she told the NBA:

As I said, game recognizes game, and these two New York icons clearly idolize each other.

Now, can we make that SVU cameo happen? As Hargitay’s longtime co-star and pal Christopher Meloni said, Brunson is a “world champion,” so “he can do whatever the hell he wants.” And if that thing he wants is to be on this Law & Order show with the one celebrity he’ll hug at his games, let’s make it happen.

With Law & Order: SVU set to return on the 2026 TV schedule for its 28th season on October 8, a cameo seems incredibly possible. Clearly, Brunson wants to do it, and I bet this ongoing compliment battle between the two would continue. So, let’s make his dream come true!

The presence and iconic "hero hair" of Paul Wesley's Stefan Salvatore have made him and the character a Vampire Diaries fan-favorite. Of course, that kind of notoriety sometimes leads to some interesting encounters with fans. However, the wildest TVD fan encounter happened right at Wesley’s front door, and involves a case of mistaken identity and a “perm bowl.”

Several years may have passed since The Vampire Diaries ended its , but fans are never letting Wesley forget about the love triangles, doppelgängers or vampires. Especially, now that they can rewatch him in the role with a Peacock subscription. The actor still has strange interactions with fans from all over the world. So, of course when he joined Alex Cooper for her Call Her Daddy podcast, she asked him about his wildest encounter:

• Paul Wesley: I came home from something and it was like the middle of the night and I remember at 11 pm, I pull up and I'm in, I don't live in this house anymore, so it's okay, but I pull up in the driveway and all of a sudden I see like nine suitcases in my driveway, okay? And you know those, it was the weirdest thing. You know back in the day when women would go to the hairstylist, and they had those bowls? What do they call them?
• Alex Cooper: Like a perm bowl.
• Wesley: Like a perm bowl. There was a perm bowl.

Talk about an insane story. My first thought when I heard Wesley tell the story was that the bowl was somehow a joke regarding his character’s "hero hair." This was a running gag in The Vampire Diaries, with Wesley's on-screen brother, Ian Somerhalder, nicknaming his hairstyle. However, the crazier part is that this isn’t the weirdest thing a fan has done to the actor.

The Stefan actor was previously gifted a box of sausages. Now, he admits he’s unsure if these were meant as an innuendo or because he’s Polish. Unfortunately, Wesley is not the only actor that has had to deal with creepy encounters. Glen Powell once shared obsessive fan stories that still creep me out. And now I understand why an actor like Jenna Ortega is "always scared" during fan encounters. I can imagine Wesley can relate as the "perm bowl" story just gets more insane:

The actor expected these encounters to “fizzle out” after the series ended, but thanks to conventions and streaming, the show has become “eternal.” I'm sure he has many stories he hasn't shared. But the most amusing part to me was Alex clearing up for the actor just what a perm bowl is:

While the actor didn’t specify how he handled the situation, it didn’t stop him from continuing to interact with fans. Wesley manages to find time to co-run a business and jump from project to project. He currently helps run a bourbon company, Brother’s Bond, with Somerhalder, which he somehow found time for after taking on the role of James T. Kirk in Star Trek: Strange New Worlds, which is set to return for its fourth season amid the 2026 TV schedule.

Wesley also has various projects in development. In 2025, it was reported thathe signed onto an untitled vampire project from FOX. And to the joy of Stelena (the ship name for Wesley's Stefan and Nina Dobrev's Elena) fans everywhere, he'll be reuniting with his aforementioned co-star for a new Hulu project. The two will star in the adaptation of Aggie Blum Thompson's novel, You Deserve to Know.

I'm going to assume that neither of these projects will require the use of a perm bowl. But, given the unpredictable situations Paul Wesley apparently finds himself in, anything may be possible.

The first season of Dutton Ranch went about as well as Taylor Sheridan & Co. could have hoped, as far as delivering stellar ratings from the very start, to the point where it was the fifth most-watched show of the 2025-2026 TV season. Behind the scenes, however, things were slightly less than hunky-dory, at least when it comes to esteemed co-star Ed Harris, who spoke harshly about feeling he was misled regarding his character's involvement.

Harris went off on a mini-rant about filming Season 1 of Dutton Ranch while giving an interview for his Apple TV film The Dink, saying he was sold on his character Everett being one of the four leads, and that he'd have major impact on the story. The actor did not feel that promise was delivered on whatsoever, and even though his complaints are only now making headlines, Deadline reports that Harris' dissatisfaction was directly responsible for creator and former showrunner Chad Feehan exiting the drama.

At the time, no details were provided regarding the specifics for why Feehan vacated the series, his second showrunning gig for Taylor Sheridan after Lawman: Bass Reeves. But if it was indeed due to creative differences involving one of the show's most globally renowned stars, I can understand why that was kept from public knowledge.

Though it isn't clear if Harris and Feehan talked their grievances out ahead of the latter's exit, it does seem like the actor took a vested interest in making sure the replacement wouldn't step in and pull something similar. It's reported that he was involved with seeking out and securing Feehan's replacement.

Dutton Ranch's new showrunner is Benjamin Cavell, whose next TV effort will be the second season of MGM+'s upcoming Stephen King adaptation The Institute. He previously developed Paramount+'s The Stand miniseries, and also created the CBS-turned-streaming drama SEAL Team. Though arguably the gig that makes him the best fit for Rip and Beth's world is his seasons writing for Justified.

Cole Hauser previously talked about Ed Harris having a bigger role to play in Season 2, which feels pretty prophetic in hindsight, as far as the actor getting ahead of any potential drama by pointing out Everett's uptick in appearances. Or maybe he was just genuinely excited about working with the Hollywood legend more. Both can be true.

One of the bigger gripes Harris had was about a scene from the premiere episode in which his character was meant to sing a song on stage in a bar. It doesn't sound like he was overwhelmed with excitement about filming it, and in the end, the scene wasn't even used in the final edit. According to Harris:

Perhaps ironically, Ed Harris doesn't necessarily think it's clear after watching the first season of Dutton Ranch that Everett was indeed underused. But that doesn't devalue his experiences during the production. As he put it:

I can't wait to see how Season 2 plays out now, and whether or not Everett will immediately have huge stakes to deal with right out of the gate now that Benajamin Cavell is in the showrunner seat. It likely isn't getting here until 2027, but in the meantime, all of Season 1 can be streamed in full via Paramount+ subscription.

Stargate fans were just reminded that Amazon is trying to bring back the series with another writer after passing on Martin Gero's project, and they're pretty upset. The company is making moves to ensure fans can watch a revival of the series with a Prime Video subscription. However, many fans are seemingly wondering why they're abandoning the latest idea.

It was announced earlier this year that Amazon wouldn't move forward on the Stargate series developed by Gero and would look to bring the series back with someone else, some fans just heard about that bit from a recent piece of reporting from Deadline. In an article about, ironically enough, a Robocop TV reboot being picked up by the aforementioned streamer, this was mentioned lower:

As mentioned, this was known information and alluded to in comments by actor Michael Shanks and others, but it seems this additional mention of it is striking a nerve. The Stargate faithful popped up in the comments and talked about how upset they were to hear Martin Gero wouldn't be involved in the series:

I understand the fans' frustration. Martin Gero has experience rebooting shows and, while his Quantum Leap reboot didn't last long, it was a solid series. Additionally, by the look of it, he had the backing of producers and stars who worked on the series, many of whom now lead the charge to "save" Stargate.

For now, it doesn't seem as though any of these fan-led efforts have had an impact on Amazon's decision. As mentioned, the studio is still looking for someone to take on a revival of Stargate, after passing on the previous pitch. Per the initial news, executives decided the first attempt at a revival only appealed to the die-hard fans of the franchise.

Of course, now, those same diehard fans are campaigning to save that Stargate iteration, which makes me question how effective their efforts will be. Obviously, the appeal of any revival is to try and capture the attention of a pre-existing fandom who will tune in. That said, it seems like that fandom alone was decidedly not enough in Prime Video's eyes, and it wants to try to open the (star) gate a little more to allow a more mainstream audience a chance to jump in.

We'll see if this fan campaign encourages Amazon to reverse course on Stargate, and hopefully, not abandon the idea altogether. I'd love to see any new tentpole sci-fi series on the way, provided it's handled the right way.

Several news and broadcast networks recently had to make tweaks to the 2026 TV schedule to accommodate for President Donald Trump’s latest televised speech to the rest of the nation. Not everyone chose to make such changes, however, with ABC and NBC opting to air their regularly scheduled programming instead. Perhaps unsurprisingly, such decisions caught the attention of the FCC and chairman Brendan Carr, and he had something to say about it.

During a press conference held on July 22 (via Variety), Carr stated that in regards to the ongoing probes into ABC’s talk show programming and broadcast licenses, his agency will be taking into consideration the network execs’ choice to not air Trump’s live speech in favor of a new episode of Press Your Luck. Carr noted that the FCC's review of ABC's licenses is for the purpose of evaluating 'whether they've been operating in the public interest," which also ties into the agency's stance on whether The View amounts to a news interview program, and whether it should have to adhere to partisan equality with its guests.

Carr stated his own feelings on the matter in saying:

ABC wasn't the only broadcaster who veered away from POTUS' latest non-SOTU address. NBC also chose to go forward with pre-planned programming, which in its case was a repeat episode of The Americas. Given how focused the FCC has been on ABC ever since Jimmy Kimmel's suspension in September 2025, NBC may have less to worry about. Or maybe not, since Trump himself called out both of the networks during the speech itself and said their licenses should be revoked.

Prior to that evening, reports surfaced pointing to both ABC and NBC being skittish about airing the speech amidst rumors that the President would once again echo past debunked claims about the 2020 election. Which he did.

During the FCC's press conference, the agency's sole Democratic commissioner Anna Gomez voiced the argument that Carr's comments went against the Constitution's top amendment, saying:

The FCC's review into ABC and others is set to culiminate on August 6, when it will also vote on whether or not to repeal limits on TV station ownership, which has been in place to stop owners from handling stations in higher than than 39% of markets. If the cap is eliminated, that would likely mean a boon for the company Nexstar, owner of The CW and Newsnation, which was recently stopped by a federal court from going through with plans to acquire station owner Tegna.

How much will that vote affect the future of ABC and its talk shows? It's impossible to know at this point, and audiences will have to wait until August to learn more.

Rick Devens' Week 2 Head of Household reign is almost at a close, and all is going according to plan. The results of the Week 2 veto allowed him to put Rome Seymour on the block, making the promise to Lyric Medeiros that they'd have a chance to survive this week, and both remain in the house.

The bummer news is, with Rome, Jason De Puy, and Melody Morris on the block, the two biggest leaders on the "other" side of the house may be on their way out. I fear a "steamroll" is on the way, and it starts with either Jason or Rome's elimination in Week 2.

It Seems Incredibly Unlikely That Jason And Rome Survive This Week

Jason and Rome are the targets this week over Melody. If either is up against Melody at this point, they're going home. In the situation where Melody saves herself with the BB Blockbuster, and it's Jason and Rome up for eviction, it seems Rome will go home.

It's a real bummer that there isn't a scenario in which both stay, because those two, plus Lyric, are the only ones on the other side making moves that will target the dominant alliance in the game. Losing one of the two drastically increases the odds of the Tool Shed engaging in a steamroll, and an unceremonious number of weeks where half the house slides by untouched while slowly sending everyone outside their numbers away.

The Only Scenario In Which Jason And Rome Both Survive

As it stands, the only scenario in which it seems possible both Jason and Rome survive the week is if Jason and Melody are on the nomination block following the BB Blockbuster. If Angela Murray, who was the subject of controversy recently, can be convinced to back down and get on board with Dee Valladares' plan to take out Melody over Jason to weaken Drew Campbell.

As one might've gathered from the blow-up between Angela and Jason after the nomination ceremony, it's going to be hard to convince her to save someone whom she believes is actively targeting her. I'll also add that he did himself zero favors talking about wanting to send home legends to other Houseguests in Week 1. Jason only survives at this point if Rome is an option.

I will say that Devens and Dee are receptive to trying to work out some deal with the trio of Lyric, Rome, and Jason to keep themselves safe, but in Angela's defense, they're assuming that trio will play with integrity. As Mike Boogie once said, "You can bounce checks" in Big Brother. In fact, if you want to win the game, it's imperative you lie when necessary just to last another week.

There's still time before Big Brother's live eviction for Week 2, so maybe we'll see things change before Thursday night at 8:00 p.m. ET. I'm rooting for any scenario in which Melody gets sent home, but at this point, it's not looking likely.

Spoilers ahead for the finale of The Vampire Lestat.

For years now, AMC has worked on a book-to-screen adaptation of Anne Rice's Interview with the Vampire. We were recently treated to the third season on the network (and streaming with an AMC+ subscription), which was retitled The Vampire Lestat. The season finale's stakes were very high, and the episode was a blast. But I've still got a bone to pick with the last episode.

The Vampire Lestat's reviews praised its unique vision and tone, and the seven-episode season was a wild ride from start to finish. And while I was endlessly fascinated by the contents of Episode 7, "The Failures", I was disappointed that so many narrative threads were left unresolved. Especially because another season hasn't been officially greenlit just yet.

The Season Finale Left Me With So Many Questions

The Vampire Lestat was a joy to watch throughout the season, with the audience finally getting the perspective of Sam Reid's title character after hearing Louis' memories of him for two previous seasons. The season had action and heartache, but also a great deal of intrigue. Namely because Episode 1 featured a mysterious time jump where Lestat was seemingly dead, Louis and Armand were injured, and the entire planet was recovering from an unknown "global catastrophe."

The penultimate episode of the season saw Lestat and Louis reunite... before being promptly decapitated by Armand and Daniel. The stakes were high with vampires gearing up for Lestat's concert, so I thought said catastrophe was coming. Alas, we didn't get any real answers about what happens that would be such a worldwide event.

Maybe this was expecting too much, as the finale episode had plenty of thrilling moments for us to enjoy. Whether it was seeing both Louis and Lestat surviving after being decapitated or the reveal that Armand was behind Regina connecting with Louis, we got so much out of Episode 7. But what we didn't get is the reveal of Lestat's fate, and exactly what occurred that seemingly ended the world as we know it.

While the final moments of the episode saw Sam Reid's character in some destroyed city after recording the narration we heard from him all season, exactly what happened during this apocalypse remains to be seen. What's more, I'm curious about what happened to poor Regina after coming face to face with Louis' severed head.

Clearly there are still questions surrounding Interview with the Vampire, so hopefully AMC will go ahead and green-light a fourth season. Otherwise, fans like me will be left in the dark.

The Vampire Lestat is now available to watch in its entirety as part of the 2026 TV schedule. Fingers crossed that another season ends up happening so that I don't stay bitter about the finale forever.

CNN has been at the center of major speculation as of late due to potential changes that might permeate it in the near future. Should Paramount Skydance merge with the network’s parent corporation, Warner Bros. Discovery, the news brand would be under new management. It’s been speculated that CBS News’ Bari Weiss will be put in charge if that happens, and it’s alleged that Anderson Cooper plans to leave should that occur. Now, sources claim another one of the network’s correspondents might make the same move.

A CNN Correspondent Is (Allegedly) Aiming To Leave Amid The Merger Chatter

The veteran CNN personality at the center of this latest rumor is Clarissa Ward, who’s been with the network for more than a decade now. Status alleges that Ward is leery of working for Bari Weiss, as she’s reportedly been watching the decisions she’s made at CBS. Per the outlet, this claim regarding Ward supposedly wanting to leave the network aligns with the recent business move she made earlier this year.

Ward – who’s helped spearhead war-related coverage on the aforementioned network since 2015 – opted against signing a long-term deal with the broadcast giant this year. She, instead, chose to sign a one-year contract extension. Apparently, the decision was viewed as a bit of a head-scratcher, since CNN’s CEO, Mark Thompson, reportedly wanted to lock Ward down for the long haul. This should all be taken with a grain of salt, though, considering neither the network nor reps for Ward have commented.

News of Ward supposedly being "hesitant" to remain with the Ted Turner-co-founded news company coincides with reports about Bari Weiss’ tenure as CBS News editor-in-chief. The past few months have seen Weiss let go of numerous staffers at 60 Minutes, which supposedly sparked low morale at the company. Per insiders, Weiss’ management of morning meetings have left a lot to be desired, as they allegedly became tense. It’s since been alleged that Weiss has been changing her ways in the wake of backlash.

As of this writing, Paramount CEO David Ellison has not officially confirmed whether Weiss will run CNN if the merger goes through. Some sources even claim Ellison is considering having someone run the network alongside Weiss. Regardless of whether Weiss runs it in tandem with someone or does so solo, Anderson Cooper purportedly has strong feelings either way.

How Does Anderson Cooper (Reportedly) Feel About Bari Weiss Potentially Running CNN?

Cooper served as a correspondent on 60 Minutes from 2007 to 2026, with Weiss’ CBS News tenure overlapping with his final few months on the show. The veteran journalist signed off for the final time in May, at which point he expressed his hope that “60 Minutes remains 60 Minutes.” Cooper’s departure was attributed to his packed schedule and an aim to spend more time with his kids. Yet it’s been rumored that Cooper did not want to work with Weiss long term and that he allegedly refuses to do so at CNN as well.

A report that dropped this week suggested that Cooper was adamant about not wanting to work with Weiss again and that he would pursue other opportunities if that were to happen. One insider alleged that Cooper had the financial security to step away from his longtime post and try a different kind of media venture.

While rumors on the future of CNN and Bari Weiss’ potential impact on it continue to make the rounds, it’s seemingly business as usual at the network. Clarissa Ward’s departure would be a major blow to the company, but only time will tell if she does indeed choose to step away.

Stuart Fails To Save The Universe may have arrived long after The Big Bang Theory and its spinoffs, but it's easily my favorite in the lineup by a mile. Kevin Sussman's Stuart was a meek comic book owner in the original series, and while not a ton has changed about that, he's easily the most captivating leading man in this hilarious comedy series.

That's just one of the many reasons I'm encouraging everyone to check out this series with an HBO Max subscription when it premieres on July 23rd, regardless of their feelings on TBBT, Young Sheldon, or Georgie & Mandy's First Marriage. This show is something completely different than all of those, and it's a great thing.

The Big Bang Theory Was A Show About "Geeks" Stuart Fails To Save The Universe Is For Them

While co-creators Chuck Lorre and Bill Prady may take offense to The Big Bang Theory being about "geeks," there's no denying the show had that reputation and gained some ire from those communities for the representation. Rest assured, while TBBT might've been about the geeks, there's no denying that Stuart Fails To Save The Universe is for the geeks.

The new series leans into the growing trend of sci-fi franchises embracing the concept of a multiverse, as Stuart is tasked by another version of himself with trying to save the universe by traveling through different realities. Along for the ride are familiar faces from Big Bang: his friend Bert Kibbler (Brian Posehn), his love interest Denise (Lauren Lapkus), and the heel of the original series, Barry Kripke (John Ross Bowie).

Together, they pop up in different realities, the rules of which gradually unfold throughout the course of each episode. This creates an intriguing premise in which the characters are forced to adapt to weird circumstances either imagined or based on famous franchises, as seen in the trailer. I can't really talk spoilers, but the trailer features nods to The Matrix, as well as Mr. Freeze from DC Comics.

The show not only beautifully leans into the modern trope of universe-hopping adventures, but Stuart Fails To Save The Universe may do it better than any I've seen so far. It also makes plenty of references to pop culture, as well as past events in The Big Bang Theory. Don't worry, most of the references are done in a way that even someone casually familiar with the series will pick up on, but there are treats in store for those who are deep into the original show.

The Series Is Laugh Out Loud Funny, And Unlike Anything I Expected

I think what surprised me most about Stuart Fails To Save The Universe is just how hilarious it is. While The Big Bang Theory and other shows might've given me a chuckle occasionally, there were more than a few moments in the new series I found laugh-out-loud funny, and I'm ready to rewatch it all over again.

Part of this is due to the tonal shift, which can be a bit jarring at first. I can't say I ever imagined any of these characters swearing, or expected so much violence in a show like this, but it's always warranted. It may not appeal to everyone who watched The Big Bang Theory, admittedly, but for those who enjoy the average superhero movie, you'll feel right at home watching this.

I think there's a comparison here to be made between The Big Bang Theory and Stuart Fails To Save The Universe is similar to when Better Call Saul came out after Breaking Bad. Both share some connective tissue, while also being about two entirely different things. I can't say a lot more than I love it way more than I ever did TBBT, but since it couldn't exist without the original, it's given me a new appreciation for the series.

As mentioned, Stuart Fails To Save The Universe premieres on July 23rd at 9:00 p.m. ET on HBO Max. I cannot stress enough how everyone should be tuning into this series to check it out, because it really is that good.

The BTS stories that have come out about The Big Bang Theory over the years include character changes, alternate actors and much more. One of the most interesting details involves the character of Howard Wolowitz. Before Kevin Sussman landed the role of Stuart Bloom and got his own show on the 2026 TV schedule, he nearly played Howard. Eventual Wolowitz actor Simon Helberg shared his side of the story on that casting and, now, Sussman is sharing his take.

Simon Helberg Almost Lost Out On Howard

Helberg portrayed astronaut Howard Wolowitz for all 12 seasons of the hit CBS sitcom and it’s hard to imagine anyone else playing him. That being said, he revealed during an interview that the incredible Big Bang salary almost wasn’t his, as Sussman auditioned for the role as well. Helberg didn't know that for a while and was only aware that Sussman had read for Leonard and was actually well-liked by producers.

While he didn’t know what happened when it came to Sussman nearly landing Howard and how the news was broken to him, Helberg revealed he didn’t really have any strong feelings about it. In the Audacity star's view, the curiosity is “part of this formative experience.”

It's hard not to wonder how different the show would have been had Howard been played by Sussman. Of course, Sussman eventually landed another role on Big Bang, but the road to get there wasn't so straightforward.

Kevin Sussman Lost Howard Because Of Another Job

During his recent interview on The Big Bang Theory Podcast, Sussman got real about what really happened with his Howard audition. Host Jessica Radloff, who wrote The Big Bang Theory: The Definitive, Inside Story of the Epic Hit Series, mentioned that Sussman had actually won the role of Howard.

Unfortunately, at the time, Sussman was working on Ugly Betty, and ABC wouldn’t let him out of his contract. So CBS had to go with someone else, Helberg. Sussman recalled getting the heartbreaking news, and it couldn’t have come at a worse time:

It was unfortunate that Sussman couldn’t play Howard because of a contractual obligation, and what was even worse was that he was celebrating the role when he found out he got it. That’s apparently not even the worst of it, as he also added this about his ABC gig:

Of course, it all worked out in the end. Helberg portrayed Howard in a way no one else could and Sussman ended up appearing in the second season of The Big Bang Theory as comic book store owner Stuart. And, from there, Sussman would go on to appear throughout the rest of the show’s run. Now, fast forward over a decade later, and he’s getting his own spinoff series, Stuart Fails to Save the Universe. It was definitely fate, maybe not in the way Sussman planned, but it was fate regardless.

Big Brother 27 Houseguest Morgan Pope is at odds with winner Ashley Hollis, and it's led to a slew of messiness spilling out on social media. There's, of course, been drama between houseguests before, but this is something else. As a matter of fact, it was so wild that fans actually took a break from streaming the Season 28 live feeds with a Paramount+ subscription, all to see this long-bubbling feud finally boil over.

For context, this really started back when Ashley was experiencing some backlash for stirring the pot and alleging that Season 28's Angela Murray was being offensive or possibly racist when talking about a Season 26 Houseguest. In the midst of responding to individuals who disagreed with her thoughts on the matter, she posted a photo with Morgan, alleging that the long-speculated feud they had after Season 27 wasn't real:

It was an odd message to post, especially considering Big Brother fans only knew there were issues between Ashley and Morgan because Ashley herself had stated as much in the past. While the duo had a friendship in the house, it seemed that after the show they were not close. It all began following an incident that happened in a car following a post-finale party (and fans still don't know the details of that event).

Undoubtedly, some of the tension stems from Morgan going from heavily favored to win, only to finish in third place after Ashley won the final competitions and sent her packing. In any case, Morgan popped up on X and replied to the picture, letting Ashley know her thoughts on sharing that photo, and about the importance of "context":

Ashley originally replied to the tweet with "How's Vince?" with the coffee emoji but appears to have since deleted it. It was a not-so-subtle jab at the showmance Morgan had with runner-up Vince Panaro, dubbed the "cheatmance" by many because he had a long-term girlfriend at the time. Vince ended things after meeting back up with his girlfriend, but there's been no evidence that he and Morgan have met back up after the show.

There were many exchanges between them, which included Ashley sharing text messages sent between the two of them. In those text, there were allegations of there being no feud as well as the winner claiming this all boiled down to "jealousy" because she finished in third place. Morgan didn't directly respond to any of Ashley's comments about that, but posted this:

Other Big Brother Houseguests weighed in, with Rachel Reilly publicly stating she supported Ashley. That's not much of a surprise, given how close they were in BB27 before Rachel was shockingly eliminated. Outside of Rachel, however, a bulk of the cast seemed to stay away from the situation and let the two women hash it out.

Hilariously enough, it seems there's one thing they can agree on. Morgan reposted one of Ashley's comments, in response to a fan hoping they could be friends:

Personally, I find this refreshing. Sure, Big Brother Houseguests share a unique experience and can spend close to three months in a house together, but does that mean they have to be buddies for life? Hell, there are people I've known much longer who I'm not friends with, so it's nice to see two people who are honest about it.

I do question, however, why they're arguing about all this so publicly. Is it because they know the drama both gives them a better shot at castings on other reality shows? If so, I hope a casting agent for The Challenge is watching. I'd 100% tune in to see these two battle it out, but we need it sooner rather than later.

The Sopranos is an HBO show that got the world talking, and remains a beloved part of the pop culture landscape since its controversial 2007 finale aired. The show is still regularly re-watched by those with a HBO Max subscription, with Meadow actress Jamie-Lynn Sigler remaining a public figure. The 45 year-old actress grew up before our eyes, and she recalled her sweet final interaction with late actor James Gandolfini prior to his 2013 passing.

Despite Gandolfini's passing happening over a decade ago, both fans and his collaborators continue to share their feelings of mourning over the acclaimed actor's death. In an interview with Us Weekly, Sigler revealed that her final conversation with her onscreen father happened at a casino. At the time he was one of few people who knew that she was diagnosed with MS, and gave big dad energy to her. As the Big Sky actress put it:

How sweet is that? While this is a small gesture, it shows how much love James Gandolfini and Jamie-Lynn Sigler had until the day he died. Even in a subtle way, the actor who played her father on The Sopranos kept being a parental figure, supporting the actress as she was early into her Multiple Sclerosis journey.

Later in the same interview, she spoke more about her final interaction with Gandolfini ahead of his death back in 2013. She recalled how encouraging he was in the midst of her health issues, offering:

This is definitely heart-warming, especially in the midst of Gandolfini's tragic death. The Sopranos icon died back in 2013 after suffering from a heart attack while vacationing with his family in Italy. It took both his fans and loved ones by surprised, and also made Jamie-Lynn Sigler's final interaction with her onscreen father all the more significant. Luckily it was a special memory that she continues to cherish to this day.

The Sopranos is streaming in its entirety over on HBO Max, as well as the prequel made-for-TV movie The Many Saints of Newark, which arrived back in 2021 and featured James Gandolfini's son Michael playing a younger version of Tony. As for Jamie-Lynn Sigler, she's been staying busy with both acting projects and various successful podcasts. We'll just have to see if the Sopranos franchise ends up expanding again in the future.

Colin Jost and Scarlett Johansson’s relationship is one of my favorites, and it's not just because she has an incredible sense of humor when it comes to his brutal Weekend Update bits. Along with that, they hilariously speak about each other often, and most recently, the SNL star had a great reaction when someone asked how to pronounce his wife's last name.

For a long time now, there's been a question about how to say Scarlett Johansson's last name, seeing as there are two common ways. Thankfully, Colin Jost was on hand to provide some insider information about how to say Johansson while hosting Pop Culture Jeopardy! on the 2026 TV schedule. In an Instagram video posted by the show, an audience member asked if his partner's last name was pronounced as “Jo-hansson” or “Yo-hansson,” and Jost had the perfect response:

Now, I am just imagining Jost calling his wife by her last name when he needs something, and it’s definitely an entertaining thought. However, I also can't help but wonder if he's ever pondered the various ways to say it. Meanwhile, I'm over here wondering if this is another Rihanna situation, and I've been saying Johansson's name wrong for a long time.

Anyway, getting back to Jost’s lesson, he went on to explain that the Oscar-nominated actress is Danish, and the name is likely a mix between Danish and Swedish. So, her last name probably was said like “Yo-hansson” or some variation at some point, to which Jost joked that his own last name was probably “Yo-st” at some point, and it was all written in the stars:

This is far from the first question that Jost has been asked about Johansson since he began hosting Pop Culture Jeopardy!, which is streaming with a Netflix subscription.

In fact, he gave a hilariously snarky response to someone who asked if his wife knows he’s there, as the game show films in California while his family is based in New York. He also jokingly shared that she’s back home with the kids, as “some of us have to put food on the table.” So, overall, he keeps it fun when fans bring up his significant other.

Much like how he's unbothered by being the less famous person in the relationship, Jost doesn't seem to mind these questions. However, if Pop Culture Jeopardy! gets renewed for a third season, perhaps his wife can find the time to pop in and give the fans what they really want: the true pronunciation of her last name.

That’s a wrap on auditions for AGT’s 21st season, and while we've seen some incredible Golden Buzzer acts this season, they sure did save some of the best for last. The competition’s first round concluded Monday on the 2026 TV schedule, and in addition to a standup comic who wouldn’t quit and Pynk Beard’s country bop that had everybody on their feet, we met Maria. No one knew what to expect when the 18-year-old from Bavaria, Germany, took the stage, but her talent had me literally screaming.

Maria said she’d been watching America’s Got Talent all of her life, and she hoped to inspire others with her talent. Then the contortionist began to bend into shapes that shouldn’t be possible for a human body. This video is a must-watch:

I am not exaggerating when I say I was screaming. At first I couldn’t wrap my head around how she was wrapping her head around and through her legs like that. Then when the box came out, a high-pitched, “NOOOOOO!” burst out of me. Despite the radiant smile on Maria’s face the whole time, I still have a hard time believing that wasn’t super painful.

Howie Mandel had a fun way of describing the teenager’s talent, telling her afterward:

Maria explained that when she was 10 was in a wheelchair for two years because inflammation on her spine had caused her to be paralyzed. When she regained movement, she said she was more flexible than before.

Mel B has fawned over some of the Season 21 acts so far, but she had trouble watching this one, covering her eyes and turning away as the contortionist twisted her head to sit below her entire torso. Simon Cowell, meanwhile, was thoroughly impressed, telling the 18-year-old:

Yes, it was definitely cool and quite a few other adjectives.

I can’t imagine that we won’t see Maria again in the live shows, but the competition is fierce. After the final audition, Terry Crews led Simon Cowell, Sofía Vergara, Mel B and Howie Mandel into a room with cards showing every act they’d sent through. Cowell estimated there were around 100 of them, and the judges were tasked with finding just 34 to join the 10 Golden Buzzer winners who were already sent through.

We’ll find out next week who made the cut and who didn’t, but I’ll be surprised if anyone can get the same reaction out of me that Maria’s audition did. Tune in at 8 p.m. ET Tuesday, July 28, on NBC to see the live acts revealed.

This week marks a big milestone for The Daily Show on Comedy Central, as it was 30 years ago — July 22, 1996, to be exact — that Craig Kilborn’s version of the satiric news show first aired. The show has seen several hosts sitting behind the desk in that time, including Trevor Noah, who vacated the position in 2022 after seven years. So why did the comedian leave what seemed to be such a good job? Noah had a pretty thoughtful response.

Trevor Noah made a significant impact on The Daily Show over the seven years that he hosted it, winning two Emmy Awards from more than a dozen nominations. During a visit to The Diary of a CEO podcast, he said there wasn’t just one thing that prompted his exit, but he gave a couple of reasons:

Fair enough. If Trevor Noah wasn’t used to seeing shows last for a decade or longer, he likely never intended to stay longer than he did. However, what was possibly a bigger factor was the realization he came to in 2020. In Noah’s words:

With many people forced to stay home during COVID, and as the former Daily Show host said, many found some benefits to being able to spend more time with their loved ones. Trevor Noah didn’t have that experience — and he realized it wasn’t just because of the lockdown. He continued:

Once the world started to open up again, Trevor Noah looked back at the previous seven or eight years and decided to make a change, saying:

Since he left The Daily Show, Trevor Noah has put out some comedy specials, started a podcast and served as the host of the Grammy Awards. Hopefully he’s also had plenty of time to travel and reconnect with friends and family.

As for The Daily Show, new episodes continue to air on the 2026 TV schedule, but it hasn’t seen one permanent host since Noah’s departure. Guest hosts initially filled in before Jon Stewart returned to host Monday nights, with correspondents Michael Kosta, Desi Lydia, Ronny Chieng, Jordan Klepper and Josh Johnson rotating on the other days of the week.

With the 30th anniversary upon us, it’s a good time to look back at the hosts — namely Trevor Noah, Craig Kilborn and Jon Stewart — who made the comedic news program what it is and how much work they put into it.

Kevin Hart and Dwayne Johnson’s hilarious bond might be getting a run for its money. Hart is starring in the upcoming Netflix film 72 Hours with Saturday Night Live star Marcello Hernández, and the duo have been giving fans a sneak peek at what to expect when it comes to their comedy. This includes Hernández doing a spot-on impression of his co-star that made Al Roker laugh so hard he had to apologize.

While promoting 72 Hours, which releases on Friday with a Netflix subscription, Hernández and Hart appeared on The Today Show. Not surprisingly, putting two comedians together means endless laughs, and that was true for both the film and their Today appearance. Since this is their first time working together, Hernández gave people a taste of what it’s truly like working with Hart, and his impression got everyone, on and off-camera, cackling. That includes Roker, check out below:

As a comedian, you can expect someone like Hart to have a great sense of humor, and I love that he can laugh at himself. Considering all the times that The Rock has trolled him, it makes sense. Secondly, the fact that you can hear Roker laughing hysterically off-screen really makes the entire bit. Laughter fuels comedians, so hearing all that laughter and how much Roker enjoyed it probably pushed Hernández to go even further with his impression. The fact that Roker felt the need to apologize for laughing is just icing on the cake.

Whenever you get SNL stars in a movie, you know it’s going to be a good one, and when they’re paired with other SNL stars or comedians, that is going to really heighten the entire project. Already it seems like Hernández and Hart are getting along swimmingly. And it makes me excited to see their new movie because if it’s anything like this interview, I just know I’m going to be laughing the entire time.

It does blow my mind that 72 Hours is the first time that Hernández and Hart have worked together, especially since it seems like they’ve been friends for years. The last time Hart hosted Saturday Night Live was in 2017, and Hernández didn’t join the show until 2022. As of now, he doesn’t seem to have any desire to follow in Chloe Fineman’s footsteps and leave SNL, and Hart is severely overdue for a return to Studio 8H, so hopefully we’ll get even more of them when Season 52 premieres this fall.

At the very least, we can look forward to seeing Kevin Hart and Marcello Hernández together in 72 Hours. The new film, also starring fellow SNL stars Ben Marshall and Kam Patterson as well as Mason Gooding, Teyana Taylor, Michael Mando, Zach Cherry, Mike Epps, Andy Garcia, and Kevin Dunn, drops on Netflix on Friday.

We may not be getting anything from The Bachelor franchise on the 2026 TV schedule, but that doesn’t mean we won’t see some of our favorite alumni on our screens. Joey Graziadei, who had an “unprecedented” ending to Season 28 of the dating show, will make his acting debut in a holiday rom-com later this year, and with many familiar faces celebrating the big news, I’d have to agree with the reaction from Graziadei’s bride-to-be Kelsey Anderson.

Roku announced Joey Graziadei will star opposite Jamie Chung in The Holiday Spark this Christmas. According to the movie’s logline, the Dancing with the Stars champ plays Dean, a perpetually single firefighter who enlists the help of a children’s book illustrator (Chung) to plan an epic holiday party for his firehouse. You can’t blame Kelsey Anderson for being fired up about the news, as she commented on his Instagram page:

I’d definitely have to agree with this assessment, but possibly for different reasons. Kelsey Anderson is undoubtedly excited to see doors in the entertainment industry opening for Joey Graziadei — not to mention she gets to see her fiancé dressed up like a firefighter.

Bachelor Nation fans will certainly enjoy seeing the former rose-distributor in uniform as well, but this news also feels like an early Christmas gift for a fandom that’s had a pretty rough year.

Kelsey Anderson wasn’t the only Bachelor veteran to weigh in on Joey Graziadei’s upcoming movie. Other comments included:

Joey Graziadei seemed as pumped as the rest of us about the upcoming movie, saying in a statement:

There’s something funny about the fact that we watched Joey Graziadei fall in love in real life on The Bachelor, and now we’re going to see him act out a love story (albeit a very different one) on The Holiday Spark. Either way, I’m taking this news as an early Christmas present.

Former Big Brother winner and reality television icon Rachel Reilly has been open about her desire to be a castaway on Survivor in the past, and let the record show, she’s just as determined as ever. In fact, her husband Brendan has been teaching her how to make fire in their backyard. Given her popularity within the competition community, you’d think we’d get to see those skills eventually, but the Survivor casting department has been notably reluctant to cast veterans of other franchises in the past. So, what are Rachel’s actual chances? Let’s talk this out.

In Survivor’s 50 season history, there have only been five total castaways who previously appeared on other majority reality competitions before they hit the beach. Twins Natalie and Nadiya Anderson were on The Amazing Race, as was White Lotus showrunner Mike White. Hayden Moss and Caleb Reynolds were both on Big Brother. That’s it. Other players may have been on lesser shows before, but longtime host and showrunner Jeff Probst and company haven’t consistently looked to their primary competitors and sister shows to find people.

That being said, now may be a unique moment. Survivor 50, with an all-star cast of returning players, just gave the show its biggest ratings numbers in years, and likewise, Big Brother is currently in the middle of a resurgence thanks to its decision to cast Survivor favorites Dee Valladares and Rick Devens. CBS is definitely looking at those figures and figuring out how to keep them rolling.

Probst has already committed to do another returnee player season on Survivor. The producers haven’t announced exactly when it’ll happen, but the fanbase is widely of the belief that it’ll be 53 or 54, which would mean it’ll air in late 2027 or early 2028. Outside of that, however, I wouldn’t be surprised to see some additional decisions made with ratings in mind, which could mean a cast that includes some celebrities or stars crossing over from other franchises. If the show did that, you’d have to think Reilly would be near the top of the list.

It’s hard to make a case that many reality television stars have been more successful than her over the past few decades. She, of course, won Big Brother, but her resume goes a lot deeper than that. She also won Snake In The Grass and Celebrity Fear Factor. She made three appearances on The Amazing Race, including two where she got to the finals, and she made additional appearances on The Traitors, Worst Cooks in America and more. She doesn’t have quite the name recognition or crossover appeal of a player like Boston Rob, but within the reality competition community, there aren’t many bigger names, which is why we've seen her make appearances on the last two Big Brother seasons.

Personally, I’m all for Rachel appearing on Survivor. She has a fantastic social game, and she always creates can’t look away television. It would be a lot of fun to see her bounce off some personality types she might not be getting on other reality shows as well. Fingers crossed it happens at some point, whether she's figured out how to make fire yet or not!

Three years after NCIS: Los Angeles ended, Sam Hanna is officially back on the job in a big way. While LL Cool J had a recurring guest spot on NCIS: Hawai’i and appeared in a couple of recent episodes of NCIS, his fan-favorite character is returning full-time for the new spinoff, NCIS: New York. The hype is building for the new show, which is premiering this fall on the 2026 TV schedule, and if you want a sneak peek, we’ve got you covered.

CBS announced NCIS: New York in April, and LL Cool J wasn’t the only surprise casting. Hawaii Five-0’s Scott Caan is starring alongside the rapper, so the hype for this show is understandably real. Now, the ball has finally started rolling on the series, with production starting up in New York City. Pictures from set have gotten out, and since there aren’t any formal trailers yet, this is the first look we’ve gotten at LL Cool J and Caan in New York, and I love it already:

It should be pointed out that despite NCIS: LA’s crossover with Hawaii Five-0, Caan is not reprising his role as Detective Danny “Danno” Williams for NCIS: New York. He is playing a completely new character, Sam’s roguish partner, NCIS Special Agent Nick Schaeffer. It is going to be hard to get used to, but just seeing the duo together, I can tell this is going to be a special partnership. Of course, none of Sam’s partners can replace Callen (Chris O’Donnell), but I’m excited for what they could bring. It's just good to see Sam Hanna back on a full-time basis.

Even though CBS had announced that a new NCIS spinoff was on the way, it was still hard to believe since there was no warning whatsoever, and I was still mourning over NCIS: Tony & Ziva’s cancellation. Seeing the cast on set and filming definitely makes it all the more real, and this has certainly made me even more stoked.

As of now, CBS has not revealed premiere dates for the fall TV schedule, but it shouldn’t be too much longer now, especially as more shows start filming. These NCIS: New York set photos will have to do for now, but the wait will certainly be worth it. In the meantime, fans can always watch most of the NCIS franchise with a Paramount+ subscription to prepare for the newest iteration. NCIS: New York will be coming this fall to CBS.

As it goes, the vast majority of Taylor Sheridan-produced projects boast star-studded casts that other TV producers would eat a cowboy hat to draw in, and Dutton Ranch was no exception when it debuted to record-breaking numbers earlier in the 2026 TV schedule. Not only due to Yellowstone vets Cole Hauser and Kelly Reilly, of course, but also franchise freshmen Annette Bening and the always excellent Ed Harris. But as it turns out, the latter wasn’t initially too pleased with the assignment.

In the role of the local and loyal animal doc Everett McKinney, Ed Harris won Dutton Ranch critics over, and I gotta say that the character was not at all what I expected, as I was fully expecting for Everett to have a bit of menace lurking beneath the surface. Sounds like Harris also had expectations for the role that were dashed. Speaking with Variety (via X), the Oscar nominee said he was geared to hang his hat up long before the final episode was filmed. In his words:

I can't imagine the feeling of running a project where Ed Harris feels like he's being under-utilized. But I do get it in this case, since Everett seems to generally be a good ol' boy in the best possible sense, where any amount of his crotchety attitude immediately fades in the face of helping an injured animal or a troubled friend. He's not exactly a softy, but he's also not the kind of gnarled-edge character that Harris excels at.

When asked why he felt like he'd been hoodwinked regarding his Dutton Ranch role, the actor explained:

Nto the most rewarding exchange of the minds, it seems. But I get it, as I also went into the first season — which was the fifth most-watched TV show of the 2025-2026 season — thinking that Everett would have more of a central role in the ongoing drama, rather than trying to soft-launch a relationship with Beulah. But by the end of the season, a lot of the stakes and relationships have changed, and it seems like Everett will be more of a pillar on Rip and Beth's side when Season 2 comes around.

To that end, Ed Harris confirms that Everett's role is meant to get bigger in future episodes, although he doesn't sound completely convinced. When asked about Season 2's production, the actor shared:

The way he stressed the word "told" makes it clear that he's not fully convinced that Everett will have as much meaningful screentime as he's hoping for. But Cole Hauser previously confirmed that the medical vet (and army vet) will have a "big part" to play next season. Here's hoping the new showrunner Ben Cavell is in the loop on that as well, lest Harris go rogue and bow out ahead of time.

Dutton Ranch will return for Season 2 in 2027, and all previous episodes can currently be streamed via Paramount+ subscription.

Following Saturday Night Live’s mass cast exodus before and during Season 51 last year, Season 52 will see even more changes. Ahead of the premiere on the 2026 TV schedule, SNL had its first cast exit of the year, with Chloe Fineman officially bowing out after seven years. She’s now revealing how she broke the news to Lorne Michaels, and it couldn’t have come at a more awkward time.

Fineman decided to leave SNL after being offered a role in David E. Kelley’s upcoming Netflix series, Myron Bolitar. The decision reportedly wasn’t easy, and what was even more difficult was telling her boss. The comedian told Variety that when she called Michaels to inform him that she would be departing, he was apparently enjoying the World Cup, and I can only imagine what it was like:

I have to give props to Fineman for building up the courage to call Michaels (who can probably be very intimidating) to tell him that she’s not coming back to Saturday Night Live. But the fact that she did it while he was watching the World Cup is pretty horrible timing. He’s having a good time, watching the game, and then he gets a call from a cast member telling him they’re leaving the show. It likely put a damper on the game, and not just because England ended up losing.

It’s pretty awkward to call your boss during a World Cup game, even if you didn’t know, and tell them that you’re quitting while also trying to make light of the situation. Luckily, Fineman revealed that it wasn’t all awkward. The two of them had a good conversation after all was said and done, and there doesn’t seem to be any hard feelings about it, other than the fact that Michaels lost twice that day:

Considering SNL has been airing for over five decades, I’m sure there have been phone calls about cast exits that have been a lot worse than Fineman’s. At the very least, it sounds like she and Michaels were able to have a good chat, which likely squashed any awkwardness that was still left over from when she called during the game.

With Season 52 premiering this fall, it’s possible Fineman won’t be the last exit. Over the years, there have been a handful of rumors as to who could be leaving SNL and who could be staying, and you never truly know until it’s announced. Even after the cast is confirmed, things could always change throughout the season. For instance, Bowen Yang departed after the Christmas show last year. If anything, with the World Cup over and Spain taking it all, the next time a cast member exits, they don’t have to worry about interrupting Michaels at a game to tell him the news.

Big Brother Season 28 has its first controversy making rounds as Angela Murray is accused of making offensive comments about past Houseguest Rubina Bernabe. As the 2026 TV schedule offers up more episodes of Season 28, fans are debating whether Angela said something racist in stating that Rubina used her Filipina heritage to campaign to stay in the house.

The whole thing started over on X, when those watching Big Brother's online live feeds overheard Angela mention her experience on Season 26 whilst in the backyard. The comments immediately caught the attention of Season 27 winner Ashley Hollis, who thought Angela's comments about Rubina's eviction were questionable:

That really got the pot stirring online, as Big Brother has a history with Houseguests making offensive and racist remarks. Of course, the debate continues on whether Angela actually said anything that was offensive, which Houseguests weighed into once the comments of what she said started to make rounds.

It didn't take long for people watching the live feeds with their Paramount+ subscription to track down the moment and share the clip. While it was difficult to hear the entire audio because other Houseguests were shouting over the conversation in the backyard, this is what Angela said about Rubina Bernabe while talking to Dee Valladares about her previous season (via @TVTweets2026):

I went back to what I wrote that week of Big Brother Season 26, and it turns out I was fairly confident Cedric would be staying. That being said, I did not mention Rubina stressing her heritage in campaigns, and I talked more about Tucker Des Lauriers rallying others to get the votes on her side.

It is worth noting that Angela was regularly out of the loop on what was happening during Season 26, mainly because people didn't trust her wildcard persona to loop her in. As such, it wouldn't be too surprising for me to hear her offer a distorted take on the season, especially if she hasn't watched it since leaving.

Other Houseguests Weighed In On If The Comment Was Offensive Or Racist

The discourse continued between past Big Brother Houseguests on the app ChatBCC. Ashley popped up in the thread to ask Houseguests about the moment, the transcript of which can be found below:

She also said that Rubina would cry so people felt bad for her and voted for her to stay (whether that's true or not LOL) and that's when Dee was like "So? That's not happening this year. Or something like that."

The chat went back and forth a few more times, with Kat questioning Ashley's motive for posting frequently about the situation if she didn't think it was malicious, and then both of them saying that Rubina and Angela are their friends. I would imagine there's some drama unfolding in more private Big Brother group chats, but unfortunately, I don't have access to those.

As for whether Angela will face any punishment from Big Brother for these comments, we can only wait and see. I would guess no, because as Ashley pointed out, no one in the show felt it was questionable enough to cut the feeds, and it wasn't nearly as extreme a comment as the things that have led to past Houseguests being expelled. We'll see how the online chatter continues, however, and if CBS feels compelled to respond.

Between taking a hiatus after her mom’s disappearance, an intruder showing up on Today, and Savannah Guthrie taking some time to be with her immediate family, she’s been on and off the air for several months now. Recently, we again learned she’s going to be heading away from the Daytime show, and this time it’s Jimmy Fallon who’s lured her away.

On Thursday, Guthrie was on air when she announced she will, once again, be taking a break from Today. If you happen to be watching the a.m. program and notice her absence, this is where she will be:

The Wordle thing has been looming in the background over the last couple of months. We knew Guthrie was on the series based on the popular NY Times game as early as June when Craig Melvin mentioned she’d be missing for a bit so she could take some “production meetings” for the upcoming game show.

The good news is that it sounds like Wordle will be filming in one large chunk for a 2027 TV schedule release. So, at least this won’t be a case where she’s off the air a couple of days, then back, then off again, then back and so on and so forth. Instead, she’s taking another hiatus and should be back in full after. Theoretically.

There had actually been insider chatter around the time Nancy Guthrie disappeared that Savannah might not decide to return to Today. In her absence, Craig Melvin and Hoda Kotb were doing pretty well together. With so much going on, it seemed like it might have been a good time to part ways, but ultimately, Guthrie chose to come back. Unfortunately, I feel like since she’s been back she’s had one foot out the door. It’s not a bad thing, but I would love a little more stability for the Today audience.

Which brings me to NBC, Jimmy Fallon and other opportunities for network names.

How Does Jimmy Fallon Factor Into All This?

Late night host Jimmy Fallon and Savannah Guthrie are both under overall contract at NBC. They are 30 Rock talent through and through, and both are in jobs that are steadily seeing advertising rates lower while costs swell. This loss in ad revenue is allegedly what took down The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, and while the Jimmys have seen ratings improvements with CBS out of the game, it's unclear if late night will see more changes in the future.

One way Fallon has tried to stay in the game within the changing landscape is to increase his producing presence outside of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. He’s been a producer for a long time, gifting us the Tom Holland and Zendaya Lip Sync Battle gift that keeps on giving. However, his more recent tries at bat have done less well.

His latest series On Brand with Jimmy Fallon was considered a flop, and was canceled after an erratic airing schedule. That’s My Jam only lasted a little longer. And the more successful Password still has aired off and on, as well. Those in the know allege the late night host needs a hit. Perhaps he’ll find it with Guthrie and Wordle.

Meanwhile, Today has allegedly been making plans in case Savannah Guthrie steps away, and if Wordle ultimately ends up breaking big on the Peacock network, she may just step into her Rob Lowe era.

To hold you over until Dancing with the Stars debuts on the 2026 TV schedule this fall with Season 35, DWTS: The Next Pro is expanding the hit franchise. Instead of focusing on celebrities whose professional dance partners guide them as they compete to win the coveted Len Goodman Mirrorball Trophy, the new series sets out to find the next pro among 12 up-and-comers. Rest assured, just because there are no celebrity contestants on this Season 35 prequel, there will still be drama. But more on that later.

I must admit, I have a spot in my heart for dance shows. Whether it’s World of Dance, So You Think You Can Dance, Dance Moms, or even Bunheads, I will be tuned in. I’m also down for a good unexpected but amazing movie dance sequence, like with “I’m Just Ken” in the Barbie movie or the Michael Jackson “Thriller” moment in 13 Going on 30.

So, moving six male and six female dancers into a house with bunk beds as they (probably literally) shed blood, sweat, and tears in a grueling audition process, and I have my popcorn ready. Let’s dig into what I learned from watching the first two episodes of DWTS: The Next Pro.

Going To Work With Your Mother Might Lead To Some Spicy Clashes

Yes, the contestants on DWTS: The Next Pro are fierce, but so are the judges. While fans of Dancing with the Stars will be familiar with three-time Mirrorball champion Mark Ballas, he’s being joined at the judges’ table, right in the center seat, by his mother Shirley Ballas, aka “The Queen of Latin.” Mama Ballas is a champion in her own right, an elite teacher, the head judge of Strictly Come Dancing, and she has the type of presence that makes you want to stand up straighter when she enters the room. It also quickly becomes clear that being mother and son won’t prevent clashes from happening when the two disagree.

Shirley Ballas is known for being firm but fair, while her son Mark Ballas has built a bit of a reputation as a rebel who will throw out the rule book when the situation calls for it. That blend of tradition and imagination is perfect for a DWTS pro dancer that’s looking to stand out from the crowd, but for a mother and son who are working side by side on a reality competition series, it’s going to cause some disagreements, and I am here for them all.

Now, the Ballas duo are professionals, so even if things do get spicy, I’m sure they can work it out. In the setup for the season at the start of the first episode, there’s a fun clip with Mark saying, “Do the show with your mom, they said. It will be fun, they said.” But Shirley laughs it off, so I think we’re safe and reassured that no judges were harmed in the making of this reality show. And there will be a different guest judge every week from the lineup of DWTS pros that can jump in to ease the tension if need be.

When Dance Show Contestants Get Vulnerable, I End Up In Tears With Chills

There is only so much airtime in a one-hour TV show, so the focus of DWTS is unsurprisingly primarily on the journeys of the celebrities, through injury and triumph. Season 35 is still a few months away from its debut, but that’s no reason not to start the hype for the celebrity contestants, having already announced Jimmy Kimmel Live’s Guillermo Rodriguez, Savannah Banana’s Jackson Olson, and Summer House and The Traitors star Ciara Miller. The Traitors and Love Island star Maura Higgins is already getting into shape with DWTS pro Val Chmerkovskiy.

DWTS: The Next Pro will have demanding challenges every week, meant to test the hopefuls’ ability to cope with the extreme pressure of the live show as they prove their technical excellence and creativity as choreographers. If you have an off week and fall short on technique, you can put more hours in at the rehearsal studio. But what often trips up the celebrity contestants on DWTS, especially the ones who aren’t actors, is being able to open themselves up emotionally in a very vulnerable way and connect that with the steps.

I was so happy to see DWTS: The Next Pro only waited until Episode 2 to bring on a challenge using dance to tell a meaningful personal story. Admittedly, I got nervous when they paired the contestants and told them to choose a story between them because that could have easily led to disaster for any pairing that didn’t fully connect or listen to each other. And while some performances didn’t live up to the promise of what they could have been, it was beautiful to witness the partnerships that did click. There’s one performance in particular, by Allen Genkin and Adele Zaikman, that was so authentic and raw that it immediately gave me chills because it felt like the dancers had cracked open their souls and poured all of their emotions out onto the dance floor. It left the dancers, their fellow contestants, the host, the judges, and yes, even me, in tears.

Robert Irwin Just Might Be The Most Wholesome Person In Entertainment

Aussie wildlife conservationist Robert Irwin made a splash on Dancing with the Stars Season 34 alongside his pro partner Witney Carson, securing victory together. Throughout his season, he stayed open to learning and absorbing everything and really wore his heart on his sleeve. And that’s really working for him as the host of DWTS: The Next Pro.

Robert Irwin is able to let his smile light up the room, offer words of encouragement, and sit beside you and share a moment of understanding, with all of it feeling completely genuine. There’s a beautiful exchange in Episode 2 when Robert Irwin goes to check in on the contestant who is working out his own grief through dance. If you’ve lost a parent, which I have, you understand the importance of just sitting with someone who knows what those emotions are without having to say anything at all. To be able to be so open and vulnerable about his own experiences with the loss of his father, Steve Irwin, and sharing what it was like for him to walk through his own grief during his time on DWTS was powerful and reassuring. I look forward to seeing what more he has in store as the competition narrows.

Being A Pro On Dancing With The Stars Is Hard Work

Being on Dancing with the Stars is hard work, and not just for the celebrity contestants, many of whom have no dance experience, put in endless hours of rehearsals practicing movements that don’t come naturally to them, and work through often quite painful injuries. It’s also hard work for the pros, no matter how easy they make it look. As someone who took my first dance class at the age of 4, grew up learning a variety of styles, and had a brief professional stint, I know what it takes, and I admire the perseverance. Dancers put everything on the line and are pushed to the extreme, having to roll with whatever happens during a live performance.

I actually really appreciate the fact that things were a bit bumpy for quite a few of the dancers in the first episode because it shows that even dancers who have been champions or have shared the stage with music superstars can still have an off day and can learn and grow. The one thing that I’m most surprised by with DWTS: The Next Pro is that it’s taken 34 seasons of DWTS for this competition series to even happen. I have no idea who is going to be the last dancer standing and win their way onto Season 35 (though we know it won't be the three who have been eliminated, Benji Castro, Jake Monreal, and Briar Nolet), or if that winner will be replacing one of the current DWTS pros. Still, I am here for every second of it, every Monday until they make the final announcement.

Blue Bloods may have ended over a year ago, but talk about Tom Selleck’s potential return as Frank Reagan will never die down. He has yet to appear in the Boston Blue spinoff, while some of his Blue Bloods co-stars popped up in the Donnie Wahlberg-led series on the 2026 TV schedule. Just because that hasn’t happened yet, does not mean he’s put his acting career behind him, as Selleck is not retired at 81.

When it was announced Blue Bloods would be ending, it was hard to tell what Selleck would be up to after saying goodbye to Frank Reagan. Not surprisingly, a lot of people assumed he’d retire, but he was advocating for Blue Bloods’ continuation before Boston Blue’s announcement. Apparently, he hasn’t stopped getting a show off the ground, whether Blue Bloods or not. A source told Closer that Selleck has allegedly been “trying to land a network TV gig” and has reached out to CBS on more than one occasion:

Selleck has been in the industry for several decades, with two of his biggest shows, Magnum P.I. and Blue Bloods, airing on CBS. If what he’s doing is true, it’s not so surprising he would go to the Eye network because of his long history with them. Whether or not he’ll actually get a new show on CBS or a different network remains to be seen, but at the very least, it sounds like he’s as motivated as ever to continue working for as long as possible. He might be 81, but he doesn’t seem to have any desire to slow down.

Even if he doesn’t get a new show, it’s not like Selleck is going to be too bored. He’s already locked down a couple of projects post-Blue Bloods, including a non-fiction series on the HISTORY Channel, Crime and Justice with Tom Selleck, airing later this year. There are also rumors that he’s returning to the Jesse Stone franchise, so we very well could be seeing his portrayal of the former minor league baseball player-turned-homicide detective after over a decade.

Of course, there is also Boston Blue. The successful Blue Bloods spinoff is coming back for a second season later this year. There have been some back-and-forths about Selleck’s potential involvement from both him and Wahlberg, and as of now, it really could go either way. If Selleck truly is campaigning for a new show, there’s no telling how/if this could affect a possible Frank Reagan comeback.

Personally, I would love to see Tom Selleck back on my TV screen, whether he’s Frank Reagan or a new character. He still has some energy left in him, which is refreshing to see at his age, and I hope that something comes to fruition in the near future. If anything, we can watch 14 seasons of him on Blue Bloods with a Paramount+ subscription, which is better than nothing.

90 Day: The Last Resort is meant to solve the marriage troubles of its cast, but in the case of Shekinah and Sarper Güven, it might be doing the opposite. When Shekinah originally blamed the series for negatively impacting her marriage, I brushed it off, but the latest episode has me thinking she has a point.

The couple lost a lot of friends after her derogatory comments made to Thaís Ramone, so that hasn't helped. That said, it feels as though the producers decided to directly target Sarper and Shekinah after that incident, and create more problems in their relationship through specific scenarios that are playing out in these latest episodes premiering on the 2026 TV schedule.

The Latest Episode Intentionally Set The Stage For Issues Between Sarper And Shekinah

As if putting the cast in situations that involve alcohol wasn't enough, the counselors deliberately set up a trust exercise that put Shekinah and Patrick side-by-side, having to help Sarper and Thaís work their way down a mountain. After their fight almost came to blows, you'd think producers would've pressed to keep them as far away as possible, but this wasn't the case.

Thaís ended up going into a panic on the mountain, but he was calmed and led down by Sarper. Everyone applauded him for how he handled the situation despite their differences, but Shekinah saw it as a betrayal. Of all the people on 90 Day: The Last Resort, Thaís was the last person she wanted him to show compassion to.

90 Day: The Last Resort Is Once Again Proving It's Not A Great Series For Couples In Crisis

Fast forward to 2026, and all signs point to the fact that Shekinah and Sarper are going through some big issues and may be the next married 90 Day couple to split. That said, I'm not ruling out them just trolling everyone on their social media pages, so I'm not quite convinced these two are done yet.

Regardless of their relationship status, I think there's enough proof once again that couples who are experiencing legitimate marital problems should not rely on 90 Day: The Last Resort to be a fix. I'll add that Shekinah and Sarper also had two previous seasons to watch before committing to this season, and they still chose to be a part of it rather than attending couples counseling elsewhere.

Which is to say that 90 Day: The Last Resort is pretty much the exact same show it has been in the previous two seasons. The couples do engage in exercise meant to help measure the strength of their marriage, but it's about the drama first and foremost. Let's not forget a therapist on there encouraged Jasmine Pineda and Gino Palazzolo to pursue an open marriage, and they just recently finalized their divorce. Hopefully, Shekinah and Sarper can do whatever is best for their lives and move on from whatever happened in the spinoff, in addition to what we've seen.

90 Day: The Last Resort continues on TLC on Mondays at 8:00 p.m. ET. Tune in to see what other issues crop up for the couples, as they all stumble toward what could be an awkward recommitment ceremony for many of them.

The relationship that Kelly Clarkson has with her fans can be a very open one, as the artist has a tendency to get really candid during her concerts. Just this week, as she opened her Studio Sessions residency in Las Vegas, she joked about being free of HR meetings now that she’s finished taping The Kelly Clarkson Show. Now, a new video shows her talking about some stomach issues she suffered, and this poop story is too much for me!

In Kelly Clarkson’s defense, she does balk at telling the story, saying, “This is TMI,” before the audience encourages her to keep going. A fan video posted to X (Twitter) shows the “Breakaway” singer admitting that she’d felt sick during the previous night’s show and thought she might have cyclosporiasis, the food-borne parasite that’s hit thousands of people across the country. Clarkson said:

Seriously, Kelly Clarkson could look into a career in comedy, because she had the audience rolling in laughter at her story of distress. That’s not where it stopped, either, as she conjured mental images of Bridesmaids’ infamous food poisoning scene:

This may be one of the ickier stories Kelly Clarkson has told her audience members, but she’s got quite a reputation for letting everything fly when she’s on stage. Back in 2025, she got real about The Kelly Clarkson Show’s demanding schedule, blaming it for not allowing her to play more concerts. Her honesty apparently rubbed some people the wrong way, with one staffer saying it was a bad look for the eponymous host to be “trashing” her own show.

I’m not sure if this latest story from the singer is more or less offensive to the general public, but what I do know is it isn’t the first time she’s told a nasty bathroom story.

A couple of years ago on the talk show, a fan asked Kelly Clarkson about her most awkward fan interaction. This led to a story about someone following her into a public restroom and asking for an autograph when she was possibly experiencing issues like those described above.

Kelly Clarkson’s relatability is one of the many things we love about her, so sure, maybe confiding to her audience (and therefore all of social media) about some bathroom issues was too much. But nobody can accuse her of not being authentic.

It’s been nearly 40 years since Full House premiered on ABC, and the cast remains as close as ever these days. That’s partially because the TV family came together after Bob Saget’s unexpected death in 2022, and after seeing how much John Stamos specifically has stepped up to keep the comedian’s memory alive, it’s hard to imagine there was a time when they “didn’t get along.”

While the actors who played the young Tanner sisters had their own sibling rivalries going on — Jodie Sweetin has said she was closer to Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen because Candace Cameron allegedly thought she was “lame” — the three guys making up the adult contingency of the Full House cast had some tension of their own. John Stamos opened up to Bobby Bones on The BobbyCast about the heartbreaking events that bonded them for life.

John Stamos Found Bob Saget And Dave Coulier’s Comedy ‘Distracting’

It makes sense that John Stamos didn’t see eye to eye with his adult co-stars at the beginning of Full House. Both Bob Saget and Dave Coulier came from a standup background, while Stamos got his start on the soap opera General Hospital before joining the short-lived sitcom You Again?. As the actor explained to Bobby Bones:

John Stamos clarified that he loves standup comedy and is fascinated by the art of it, but it’s not something he can do. However, in addition to Stamos not appreciating Bob Saget and Dave Coulier goofing off on set, he also “pissed Bob off” by nurturing the relationship between his character Uncle Jesse and the Olsen twins’ Michelle.

The Full House Stars Became Close After Family Tragedies

The cast of Full House will say today that they are just like a real life family — bickering and all — but it was apparently tragedies in their real lives that ultimately brought the Danny Tanner, Joey Gladstone and Jesse Katsopolis actors together. John Stamos said:

What a wildly tough thing for all of them to have to go through, but it’s pretty amazing that they had each other to lean on. It’s no wonder the trio became friends for the rest of the series and after. John Stamos continued:

It’s obvious how much Bob Saget’s death still hurts John Stamos, as he said the comedian was “bombastic with his love”:

Whether fans remember him most for Full House, his raunchy comedy or any of Bob Saget’s other movies and shows, it’s clear that Saget loved the people in his life very much, and it was reciprocated — even if it took John Stamos a while.

As 9-1-1 prepares to head into its 10^th season on the 2026 TV schedule, fans are preparing for yet another season without Bobby Nash. Peter Krause’s beloved character was killed off toward the end of Season 8. Despite his onscreen death, he still sometimes hangs out with his former 118 firefighters. And I was not expecting him to reunite with one of his former co-stars for an epic mustache battle. Is it Movember yet?

Now's a good time to for Krause to be around some TV actors. The actor is preparing to get back to work on his new show Line of Fire coming to NBC this fall. Before he and the 9-1-1 cast officially go their separate ways, though, they are making sure to get in some fun time in with each other.

Kenneth Choi took to his Instagram to share a fun video of Krause and Ryan Guzman showing off their respective ‘staches, and I honestly don’t know which one I prefer.

I can’t believe it’s been over a year since 9-1-1 killed off Bobby, but it feels so good to see Krause with the cast again. Once you work with people for eight years, I assume you either hate one another or develop a bond that won't wear off. I'm glad to see it's more the latter here, though I wish the 'stache had been a look that was in during Krause's 9-1-1 run. To note, I've seen the Line of Fire teaser from NBC, and he is not rocking a mustache there either.

The 9-1-1 cast has been known for fun social videos just like this one in the past, and it looks like Krause was getting one more in under the wire before moving on. Of course, the cast hasn’t stopped doing TikToks since Krause left, but I just think you can’t get the same vibes once someone is gone. (Yes, I'm thinking of the “Apple” dance. I also previously enjoyed the viral TikTok of the 9-1-1 cast trying to do Oliver Stark’s British accent.)

Ever since Bobby’s death, fans had been holding onto the theory it wouldn't be permanent, whether by way of his death being a hoax or a dream. Even Angela Bassett’s own sister kept wondering about his return. Those hopes were squashed when Krause’s new NBC show, Line of Fire, was officially ordered for the 2026-2027 season. As excited as I am for this new series, I am disappointed that the “alive Bobby” theories seem to have been proven false.

Fall TV is getting underway, and the cast will soon be busy (and probably mustache-less). I just hope that Krause being on a different network won’t put a damper on any upcoming reunions. Bring all the mustache content back for November, gents.

The 2025-2026 TV season officially ended more than a month ago, and there’s excitement for the back half of the 2026 TV schedule to deliver returning fall favorites, new Netflix shows and more. But first, praise and attention must be given to all the biggest shows from the past year that drew the largest crowds across broadcast, cable and streaming. Unsurprisingly, mega-producer Taylor Sheridan is all over that list, with three shows sitting very comfortably in the Top 10. Just not in the very top spots.

Nielsen has unveiled its latest comprehensive stats on 2025-2026 TV (via Variety), and as it usually goes, sports programming accounts for the biggest viewing audiences, with Super Bowl LX garnering the most massive viewership. But when we factor out sports and other live events, and focus squarely on scripted creations and docuseries, that’s when Sheridan and other small-screen favorites can rise up.

Landman And Both Yellowstone Spinoffs Are In The Top 10

Both seasons of Billy Bob Thornton's Landman broke viewership records for Paramount+, and both of those were then topped by Dutton Ranch's series premiere ratings. So it's only logical that both of those shows are represented in Nielsen's rundown in the #4 and #5 spots, respectively.

Over on CBS, Marshals took Luke Grimes' Kayce Dutton and the Yellowstone-verse into more serialized storytelling, and did not suffer any dramatic viewership drops because of it. In fact, it cam in just behind Dutton Ranch at #6, with a difference of only around 100,000 viewers. I would love to know how much overlap there is between those two audience groups.

If the two shows manage to pull off a crossover episode that brings Beth and Kayce together again, I bet that ends up being the most-watched episode of any Sheridan-produced series that year. Unless of course both shows are watched by the same number of people, in which case the stats would probably look pretty similar.

Also worth noting: The Madison, which isn't a Yellowstone spinoff even if it originally was conceived as such, is tied in the #19 slot with Ghosts and Will Trent.

Netflix Is Still The King, Though

Though Taylor Sheridan's dramas can obviously draw big crowds, it would have been pretty miraculous had any of them managed to take down the biggest TV hit of the streaming era, Stranger Things. Naturally, the split-up fifth and final season took over the highest spot on the Top 10, without the need for multiple platforms to enter the mix.

Below Hawkins' finest, Netflix also boasts the #2 spot with the first season of Jon Bernthal and Tessa Thompson's His & Hers , as well as the #3 slot with the 50 Cent-produced unscripted series Sean Combs: The Reckoning, which banked several Emmy nominations for the rapper.

Across the full Top 25, Netflix also ranked for Monster: The Ed Gein Story, The Beast In Me, The Boroughs, and The Lincoln Lawyer. The last two of those were canceled this year, and those seems like even wilder decisions now that the numbers are in.

Beyond Marshals and Tracker, CBS / Paramount + also populated the Top 25 with Matlock, Sheriff Country, Ghosts, NCIS, and Georgie & Mandy's First Marriage. Not too shabby, although I can't be the only one shocked to not see Boston Blue in the lineup.

I'd also be remiss if I didn't celebrate the hell out of High Potential's second season being watched by enough people to secure its Top 10 placement. Let's make all the Kaitlin Olson shows the most-watched shows on TV.

Next up for Taylor Sheridan is the third season of Zoe Saldaña and Nicole Kidman's Lioness set to stream via Paramount+ subscription, so expect to see that one showing up in the Top 10 next year.

Big Brother's 1,000th episode is approaching, and Julie Chen Moonves is hoping to get every past Houseguest involved. As fans watch BB online and wait for the big milestone to hit the 2026 TV schedule, the Chenbot pitched CinemaBlend her grand plan for how and when to bring a litany of Houseguests back from every prior season.

I recently had a chance to speak to Julie about the 1,000th episode, and tried to get some details on what we should expect. The host admitted that there are still plans being talked out amongst the Big Brother creatives, but was more than happy to share the suggestion she made:

Fortunately, it's not Julie's job to come up with the answers. She's just the host, and apparently part-time security, but there are likely plenty of producers and other execs who can figure out how to make a large-scale reunion happen.

Thus far, Big Brother has done a solid job working in legends from the past. Rachel Reilly returned from her elimination the season prior only to "die" in a volcano, and Howie Gordon returned to keep Dr. Will Kirby from taking control of the future. Man, this show is just so weird sometimes. I almost feel bad for the Survivor fans tuning in.

Maybe the solution is to do some competition that involves multiple Houseguests. I'm not sure they can realistically get "every" Houseguest from the past in one segment, but I'd applaud the effort to try. Maybe even get superfan James Gunn to direct a special intro to the episode or something! He might just do it, especially since he didn't get to feature Rick Devens in the Superman sequel.

More to Julie's point, if they can get every Houseguest they can to gather for a group picture on the CBS lot, that would be pretty awesome. Many of these people are scattered all across the nation, so it would be no small feat to pull it off. I'd appreciate the effort, even if it was a small moment in a larger episode.

Whatever the case is, I'm excited to see a reality series like Big Brother still going strong with 1,000 episodes. The level of interest in this season so far has me thinking that this show could easily last another 1,000 episodes, especially if they keep bringing on stars from other reality franchises.
