It’s been a little over twenty years since The Amazing Race won the first Emmy for Outstanding Reality-Competition Program, and in the time since, the Television Academy has steadily added more awards to honor the great work being done in the reality space. Given the popularity and staying power of the genre, those honors have been well deserved, but there’s still one huge omission the Television Academy needs to fix.

Producers, hosts, casting departments, cinematographers, costume designers and more working professionals are now eligible to win dedicated categories, but the actual people we tune into these shows to watch still aren’t eligible to win anything at the Emmys. That’s a problem, and it’s also a huge missed opportunity. We need a category that’s for Best Reality Competition Contestant And/ Or Cast Member, and we need it as soon as possible.

Imagine an alternate universe in which Survivor legends like Boston Rob, Parvati Shallow, Sandra Diaz-Twine and Cirie Fields were Emmy nominees or even winners. Imagine a world in which Big Brother favorites like Rachel Reilly, Dan Gheesling and Taylor Hale could brag forever about being recognized by the Academy. Imagine if standouts from Drag Race, Top Chef, Amazing Race, American Idol, Love Island, The Traitors and other competitions were eligible to do more than just win the show.

And that’s doubly true for the stars of more traditional reality shows. The Real Housewives are the most obvious example. Nene Leakes, Lisa Vanderpump, Teresa Giudice and so many others have turned millions of people into passionate and dedicated fans. They’re fantastic at what they do and deserve the chance to be honored in the same way as the stars of more traditional scripted shows. How much drama and intrigue and fun would have been created by some of these women being put head-to-head in the same Emmy category? I’d watch a multiple episode arc of that every season.

I’m sure there are any number of practical reasons why this hasn’t happened. I’m sure there are issues with union vs non union performers. I’m sure there are issues with feeling like these personalities are supposed to be “real people” and not professionals working on a show. I’m sure it would be awkward for voters to try and figure out how to compare Tom Sandoval to Rick Devens and Bob The Drag Queen.

I get that it’s complicated, but the Emmys are about honoring people doing great work in television. Clearly, the Television Academy has decided the reality genre is worth celebrating and is here to stay. I agree. Now it’s time to start celebrating the actual people we’re watching each season. With all due respect to hosts, it’s the actual contestants who make or break a season. Assumedly, that’s why, back in 2017, the Academy officially added Outstanding Casting For A Reality Program. Now it’s time to do the same for the contestants and cast members.

If it were up to me, I’d add four categories and do Best Male Star In A Reality Show, Best Female Star In A Reality Show, Best Male Competitor In A Competition Show and Best Female Competitor In A Competition Show. Honestly though, I’d settle for just one that more generally honors the stars in the entire Reality-Competition space. They’ve collectively earned their moment. Now it’s time we give it to them.

The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City is one of the best reality shows out there, and the cast of the series are fan favorites. Chief among them is Mary Cosby, who has been stealing scenes for years on Bravo (and streaming with a Peacock subscription). The fandom was shocked when it was revealed that Mary's son Robert Jr. passed away this week, and now production on Season 7 has halted. But this isn't the first time Bravo has put the cameras down in the midst of real-life issues.

People broke the news that RHOSLC has paused filming while Mary Cosby and her family cope with the tragedy of Robert Jr.'s sudden death. The show was reportedly gearing up to begin filming this week, but has halted those plans in the wake of the Cosby family's loss. And as much as I'm a hardcore fan of the show, I'm heartened to hear that Bravo is putting Mary's feelings first during this impossible time.

The news of Robert Jr.'s death broke the internet, and details are still trickling out. Police in Salt Lake reportedly "responded to an overdose investigation that turned into a death investigation." Mary and her late son have spoken candidly on the show about his substance abuse issues, putting a light on a subject that so many feels shame about. As such, fans are especially invested in this heartbreaking news.

When Has The Real Housewives Paused Production Before?

Obviously the passing Robert Sr. is a tragic and extenuating circumstance, but this isn't the first time that a season of Real Housewives had to put the cameras down based on things happening off camera. Perhaps the most notable is when New Jersey's Teresa Giuidice went to prison. Rather than continuing the show without her, like they did this year on Potomac when Karen Huger was away, RHONJ stopped filming full seasons until she got out and returned home.

There were also a number of COVID-related delays in other cities at the height of the pandemic. In November of 2020, both Atlanta and Beverly Hills ended up suspending production due to positive COVID tests.

Obviously, these are very different situation than what Mary Cosby is going through, but it shows that Bravo has been able to put real-life issues over the filming schedule. Of course, fans are curious if Mary will even be able to film Season 7 of Salt Lake City given the tragic loss of her son.

Our thoughts continue to be with the Cosby family during this difficult time. While Salt Lake Season 6 ended a few weeks ago, new episodes of Beverly Hills and Potomac are currently airing as part of the 2026 TV schedule.

Bravo's Real Housewives franchise arguably includes some of the best reality shows of all time, which air on the network before becoming available to stream with a Peacock subscription. One of the most popular shows is The Real Housewives of New Jersey, and now Gia and Joe Giudice have gotten honest about how little the family made during its early days.

Teresa Giudice is the face of RHONJ, as an OG who has never left the show during its 14 seasons on the air. But she was a supporting presence throughout Season 1... until that infamous table flip happened. On her daughter Gia's podcast Casual Chaos, Joe appeared and they reminisced about their early days on Bravo. Juicy Joe reminisced about the money the Giudice family put out in Season 1, saying:

In the early season of RHONJ is seemed like money as no object for the Giudice clan. They regularly spent tons of money on parties and home renovations, with Teresa famously shown paying for it all in cash. These scenes would come under new scrutiny when Joe and Teresa ultimately went to prison for a number of charges including bankruptcy fraud and conspiracy to commit mail and wire fraud.

So how much did the family get paid for the first season of RHONJ? The show had humble beginnings, and later in the same podcast Joe Giudice offered his memory of the paycheck. As he shared with his daughter:

Ouch. This sum really seems like a drop in the bucket, especially considering how the cast of the Real Housewives franchises are typically showing off a ton of wealth on camera. The Giudices likely lost money back in Season 1, although Teresa's status as an OG 14 Seasons later likely has resulted in a massive pay raise.

Gia Giudice has grown up before fans' eyes, including her recent appearances on Next Gen NYC and the forthcoming Special Forces: World's Toughest Test (which will be streaming with a Hulu subscription). She spoke about the dynamic of investing money while on the Real Housewives franchise, musing:

She's not wrong. Teresa has been the biggest breakout star from RHONJ, and has appeared on a number of other shows such as House of Villains and The Celebrity Apprentice.

Life for the family changed forever when Joe and Teresa Giudice were indicted on 39 counts of fraud back in 2013. The pair both served time in prison, and Joe also ended up being deported as a result of the saga. Through it all cameras were there, which is why the Giudices have so many loyal fans.

It's currently unclear if/when The Real Housewives of New Jersey will return on Bravo. For now we can re-watch the first 14 seasons on Peacock and patiently wait for an update about casting... especially since Teresa and Melissa's relationship is so fraught.

Earlier this month it was revealed that RHONJ isn't getting a traditional reunion for the first time in the show's history. People recently spoke with Teresa, as well as her co-stars Dolores Catania and Jennifer Aydin, about the altered reunion, which will be a watch party where the women are divided by their friend groups. Giudice addressed this pivot, saying:

Interesting. It doesn't sound like the OG of RHONJ is too concerned about the change in format for Season 14's ending. And Teresa thinks that fans will understand why this pivot had to happen, given apparent animosity among the cast. Luckily Housewives fans won't have to wait too long before finding out what goes down for themselves.

Giudice isn't the only RHONJ cast member who is praising the show's lack of a traditional reunion. Fan favorite Dolores Catania (who recently filmed The Traitors Season 3) also echoed that she was happy with how thing ultimately ended for Season 14. In her words:

So close to a spoiler! Dolores stopped herself, but it seems like the separated watch parties were a far less stressful experience for the cast of The Real Housewives of New Jersey. After all, reunions usually take a full day to film and are full of vicious arguments and receipts.

Jennifer Aydin's family secrets were exposed on the show, so she knows all too well how draining filming a full season and then a three-part reunion can be. She also spoke to People about how much she enjoyed ending the season without having to come to blows with certain members of the cast. In her words:

While the cast seems content with how RHONJ Season 14 ends, only time will tell how the audience reacts. Jersey fans are some of the most passionate out of all the Housewives franchises, and they're not afraid to make their opinions known on social media. Reunion drama is usually petty juicy, and it sounds like there will be little to no arguing in the upcoming watch party.

But the Internet has thoughts after Teresa rocked a bright purple catsuit on Watch What Happens Live, with one commenter even posting "what in the Blades of Glory is this?"

Well, you can't say that the OG of RHONJ didn't swing hard with her latest appearance on Andy Cohen's late night show. She's the most frequent guest in WWHL history, and often brings a bold look in the process. Unfortunately, fans didn't seem to respond to this purple jumpsuit.

WWHL and Teresa posted an Instagram video ahead of that appearance, where she and Joel Kim Booster lip synced to her daughter Gia's famous song from back in the early days of the show. But the comments section is truly brutal, and full of criticism about her look. Some popular responses include:

I didn't expect a Blades of Glory reference in the year of our Lord 2024, but here we are. But Giudice really does look like she's wearing a figure skating outfit, so I guess that's to be expected.

Teresa's newest episode on Watch What Happens Live had great rating, which is probably why so many eyes got on her purple outfit. In addition to the garment's styling, some fans also took umbrage with how she fit into it while standing.

Teresa has a ton of loyal fans, many of whom defend her on social media all year round. But she does have some naysayers, with Giudice called out for seemingly photoshopping her images last summer. And we'll have to see how the fans respond as the current season of RHONJ goes on, especially as it's not getting a reunion for the first time in the show's history.

It's been a busy, changeful few years in the Guidice-Gorga households — there have been prison stints and new Househusbands and, allegedly, forehead surgeries. But through all of those major life events, one thing has endured: the seemingly never-ending feud between real-life sisters-in-law and The Real Housewives of New Jersey stars Teresa Giudice and Melissa Gorga. Now, Gorga is explaining how the two filmed the new season of RHONJ despite her feud with Giudice. 

The familial fallout that stretches back seasons hit a fever point when Melissa and husband Joe Gorga skipped his sister Teresa's wedding to polarizing fiancé Luis "Louie" Ruelas in August 2022, after the bride-to-be had spread rumors that her sister-in-law was cheating on her brother during Season 13 of the Bravo show. 

As a result, there was much contention over whether both reality TV personalities would be returning to the long-running franchise when production resumed for Season 14. In July 2023, per People, it was announced that the network made offers to both Guidice and Gorga to return for the season on the 2024 TV schedule, which both women accepted. But that doesn't mean they had an easy time filming together, as Melissa recently revealed to Entertainment Tonight. As she told ET's Ash Crossan while at the Lift premiere on Monday, January 8:

The last time Bravo fans saw the sisters-in-law together onscreen was during the three-part RHONJ Season 13 reunion in July 2023, during which Teresa stormed out following a heated argument with her brother Joe and his wife Melissa. At the time, Giudice acknowledged that she didn't know how she and Gorga were "gonna coexist" as co-stars of the Jersey franchise, saying that Melissa was "gonna be out of [her] life after tonight." 

Obviously, it looks like that didn't exactly happen, but Gorga explained to ET that the estrangement is their "new normal," even though she's not happy about the circumstances:

She also gave an update as to when RHONJ fans can expect to see Season 14. The show usually airs on Tuesday nights on Bravo, but it is available to stream with a Peacock subscription, so make sure you have those ready, as the reality star said:

Based on a preview trailer that aired during BravoCon 2023, Season 14 of The Real Housewives of New Jersey will be as drama-filled as its predecessors, with Guidice notably getting into a hot-headed exchange with John Fuda, the Househusband of returning castmate Rachel Fuda.

It was during a BravoCon 2023 panel (via People) that Melissa Gorga disclosed that she was keeping her distance from "really toxic" people and trying to protect her peace going into the future of the franchise:

The reality star recently posed in pink at a birthday party with a Barbie movie theme, and her outfit isn't all that has fans talking on social media. After Giudice posted a photo of herself looking ready for a Barbie Dreamhouse, the comments were filled with people calling her out for alleged Photoshop. 

The 51-year-old Teresa Giudice went for a bright pink jumpsuit with cutouts to party Barbie-style, and the photos that she posted on her Instagram account garnered a lot of attention and more than a little scrutiny. Take a look:

While Teresa Giudice is looking sleek in pink alongside other party guests (including fellow Real Housewives of New Jersey cast member Jennifer Aydin), the comments are filled with remarks about her alleged use of filter, Facetune, and Photoshop to tweak her appearance. The reality star and former Dancing with the Stars competitor hasn't weighed in one way or the other on the claims that she used filters, but there's no shortage of people in her comment section with opinions. Here are just some:

It's worth noting that Teresa Giudice is not the only one to post these identical photos. Jennifer Aydin posted some of them on her own Instagram account, as well as Giudice's friend Caroline Rauseo, whose birthday was being celebrated. If her appearance was altered in the pics, then those versions of the pics were seemingly circulated to other guests to post as well. 

Whatever happened, fans who watched the most recent season of The Real Housewives of New Jersey live on Bravo or streamed via a Peacock Premium subscription can draw their own conclusions about whether the images from the recent party fit with the footage of Giudice in Season 13. This certainly isn't the only time that claims have been made about her appearance, as RHONJ's Melissa Gorga claimed earlier this year that her fellow cast member got forehead surgery. Back in 2022, reports indicated that she spent nearly $10,000 on her hair for her wedding.

Of course, commentary and controversy are inevitable when it comes to the Real Housewives franchise, and this isn't Teresa Giudice's first time being roasted for images she posted on Instagram. The comment section for her Barbie pink look included some critiques for her outfit choice as well. All in all, it appears that Giudice had a good time at the Barbie party, even if fans will never know the full story of whether Photoshop was used for the images afterward.

Well, there you have it. Per the OG of RHONJ, that comment she made at her wedding didn’t come with any intended malice towards the Gorga clan. Instead, she wanted to repeat a sentiment that she heard and was touched by previously. Although the choice of words definitely turned heads, especially as Bravo fans were watching for updates from her big day as it was happening.

While the feud between the Gorgas and Giudices is still going strong, Giudice’s response on WWHL actually took aim at another one of her cast members: Margaret Josephs. While the two got along throughout the season, that doesn’t seem to be the case any longer. And she seems to blame Margaret for her wedding speech being interpreted in a way that caused even more drama.

Clearly the stakes are high this season of The Real Housewives of New Jersey, and the Season 13 finale was the most wild episode yet. But RHONJ fans had a big reaction to her partner Louis Ruelas saying he wears the PJ’s of Giuidice’s late father.

Considering how long we've followed Teresa Giudice's life on The Real Housewives of New Jersey, fans have grown super attached to the OG and her family. That includes her late parents, who were beloved figures on the show. On the most recent episode, Giudice's husband Louis Ruelas revealed that he's been wearing Nonno's pajamas around the house, seemingly to comfort the Giudice girls. For the past 10 seasons of The Real Housewives of New Jersey fans have followed the relationship between OG Teresa Giudice and her brother Joe Gorga and sister-in-law Melissa Gorga. But Season 13 will follow as they once again fracture, all leading up to Teresa’s wedding. To accompany this new season, Bravo also brought back the aftershow. And in a clip where the ladies shared stories about plastic surgery, Melissa opened up about the various procedures done by the cast. In her words:

Well, that was honest. While Melissa Gorga originally kept her nose jobs on the hush hush, the Real Housewives of New Jersey star is now open about the effect that seeing yourself on TV can have. She claims most of the women get plastic surgery after their first reason, including Teresa Giudice. We’ll just have to wait and see if the OG responds to this claim.

Melissa Gorga’s comments didn’t single out Teresa Giudice alone, but they’re still going to turn a few heads in the Bravo-verse. This comment could have been innocent enough, but the fact that families are still feuding gives it extra weight. Although Gorga did include her own plastic surgery story while discussing the cast as a whole.

Teresa Giuidce is the undisputed queen of Real Housewives of New Jersey, as the only OG who has remained through the years. The show even paused while she served time in prison. She’s been the butt of countless jokes and memes during her time as a public figure, and there’s definitely been plenty of jabs made about her forehead. And if Melissa Gorga’s comments are to be believed, Giudice went under the knife to change that.

Tensions between the Gorgas and Giudices will presumably keep building as more episodes of The Real Housewives of New Jersey air, complete with snarky talking head interviews. Then there’s the reunion, which is always explosive in Jersey. There’s no telling how much drama is coming out, truly.

It’s a crazy time to be a Real Housewives fanatic, with three different shows on the air and a number of casting shakeups breaking the internet. But perhaps the biggest news to come from the Bravo-verse is the recent sentencing of RHOSLC star Jen Shah to 6.5 years in prison. And formerly imprisoned Housewife Teresa Giudice recently explained why she “can’t relate” to Shah also being ordered to jail time.

Over the past few years, the Real Housewives has learned into the true crime genre, thanks to Jen Shah’s arrest while shooting and Erika Jayne’s ongoing legal battle. But RHONJ original cast member Teresa Giudice was the first Housewife to go to prison before our eyes, serving 11 months for fraud over papers she was asked to sign by ex-husband Joe Giudice. On a recent episode of her podcast Namaste Bitches, Tre made distinction between herself and Shah. As she told co-host Melissa Pfeister:

There you go. The Real Housewives of New Jersey OG might have also gone to prison over fraud, she doesn’t really see the similarities between herself and Jen Shah. And indeed, there are some major differences between the two legal cases. And Giudice wants everyone to know that she’d never be involved in the same dealings as her Salt Lake City colleague.

Despite maintaining her innocence for two seasons of The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City, Jen Shah ultimately plead guilty to conspiracy to commit wire fraud, reportedly targeting vulnerable communities like the elderly in order to get money out of them. While Giudice served her own time in prison, she made a point of putting a barrier between her crimes and that of Shah’s. As she put it,

There are plenty of people comparing Jen Shah with Teresa Giudice, as they’re both Housewives who were given prison time over issues related to fraud. But the latter TV personality has always maintained that she didn’t know what she was involved with, and was trusting her ex and signing where she was told. She addressed this later in the podcast, saying:

The difference between these two offenses can clearly be seen by the amount of prison time that was ordered for the two Real Housewives stars. Teresa Giudice was sentenced to 15 months in prison for 41 counts of fraud, including making false statements on loan applications, and bankruptcy fraud. Meanwhile, Jen Shah was sentenced to 6.5 years. So while there are similrities, these are vastly different circumsances.

Jen Shah will be noticeably missing from the reunion of The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City, although she’s expected to do an interview with Andy Cohen before surrendering herself into custody. After being found guilty of bank fraud and additional offenses earlier this year, Todd and Julie Chrisley are going to jail. The Chrisley Knows Best stars were sentenced to a combined 19 years back in November and are apparently looking to appeal. However, the couple is currently set to surrender themselves in January, meaning they now only have a few weeks to spend with their family. It would be an understatement to say that the change of surroundings is going to be an adjustment for the showbiz couple, who’ve been accustomed to living an opulent lifestyle. On that note, Real Housewives star Teresa Giudice – who’s done time – gave the Chrisleys key advice on how to handle their prison stints. 

In 2014, the Real Housewives of New Jersey veteran was sentenced to 15 months in prison after she and ex-husband Joe Giudice (who was given 41 months) plead guilty to financial fraud. Teresa Guidice reported to prison in January 2015 and was released in December of that year. Giudice didn’t stay as long as Todd (who got 12 years) and Julie (who received 7) Chrisley are expected to, but she still definitely has experience here. When asked about how they couple should proceed, she quoted some words of wisdom from one of her memoirs: 

While chatting with TMZ, the 50-year-old reality TV star also advised that the Chrisley children visit their parents whenever they can. One would think that they’ll do just that while Julie and Todd are incarcerated. As daughter Lindsie recently explained, even now the two parents are making the most of their time by being with their loved ones. 

There are a few specific elements that the Chrisleys are going to have to contend with, one being the food. Teresa Guidice also addressed that as, when she was asked how one gets used to it, she said, “you just do.” The media personality also mentioned that she actually worked in the kitchen while doing jail time, and that was only one way in which she sought to remain productive. Giudice noted that she exercised and wrote her book during that period of her life. 

Though she surely would’ve preferred not to have gone to the big house, Teresa Giudice doesn’t seem to look back on the experience in an entirely negative light. When reflecting on her prison stint, Giudice said it took her a while to be comfortable with saying that she’d done time. However, that changed in time and she can now “shout it out to the world.” She apparently even keeps in touch with some of the women she met there. 

It’s hard to say, of course, whether that same kind of atmosphere is what awaits Todd and Julie Chrisley. As of right now, the Chrisleys are reportedly unhappy with how their case played out and purportedly “feel they were targeted unfairly by the judge.” Their lawyer, Alex Little, is “optimistic” about the appeal, though, as he argues that the trial was “marred by serious and repeated errors.”

Needless to say, it’s sounding like the Chrisleys are not looking forward to reporting to jail in Florida on January 17. But who knows? Maybe they’ll be successful and find ways to be proactive like Teresa Giudice did.

Spoilers below for the second episodes of Dancing with the Stars' 31st season, so be warned!

Dancing With The Stars Season 31 is underway, and it wouldn't be a proper season without some disappointment about an early exit in the competition. While there were surely some tears shed for Real Housewives star Teresa Giudice getting the boot in Week 2 — or maybe it was just her sparkling wine that spilled — there were likely more DWTS viewers bummed out to see pro Pasha Pashkov leaving with her. This certainly isn't the dancer's first time facing an early elimination, and some fans took to social media wondering when Pashkov will finally get his chance to shine for a longer stretch. 

Pasha and Teresa immediately found themselves in trouble as Season 31 kicked off. They landed in the bottom two in Week 1, but managed to survive thanks to a unanimous vote to save them from the judges. Week 2 didn't go the same way, however. While Pashkov and Giudice managed to get votes from Derek Hough and Bruno Tonioli, their fellow tablemates Carrie Ann Inaba and Len Goodman picked meteorologist Sam Champion and Cheryl Burke. As Goodman's vote counts for two votes when a tie is on the line, it was curtains for Pashkov and Giudice. 

Almost immediately, Twitter was ablaze with dismay that Pasha Pashkov was being sent home in Week 2 of Dancing With The Stars, with some sharing the opinion that it seems unfair for him to face an elimination so soon, especially after his last few stints during the ABC years. 

Paskov joined Dancing With The Stars in Season 28, which ultimately was his highest-performing season to date. Pasha finished in a respectable 7th place with The Office vet Kate Flannery, who ended up getting eliminated in a situation that even made Len Goodman regretful. With that being the peak of his run, every season since has obviously ended in much quicker exits, as noted by the fan below.

Dancing With The Stars Season 31 indeed marks the third consecutive season in which Pasha Pashkov left in Week 2. This streak started back in Season 29 when he was paired with animal activist Carol Baskin, who was good for incorporating tigers into a performance but didn't quite have what it took to go the long haul.

In Season 30, Pashkov was paired with Bling Empire star Christine Chiu and actually had an awesome week. Unfortunately, they were sent home despite vastly outperforming Cheryl Burke and fitness trainer Cody Rigsby, who suffered a big penalty after COVID impacted their performance. With bad luck like that, one had to hope Season 31 would turn out better for Pashkov for the show's debut for those with Disney+ subscriptions. But that wasn't meant to be, and after this latest elimination, fans are begging to see more of him next season, perhaps opposite a more athletic partner. 

To that end, the real question comes down to what Pasha Paskov needs to succeed, which is something fans will presumably continue asking throughout the rest of the season while watching Joseph Baena flex and strut, and no doubt judging everyone else's performances that much more strictly in comparison. Perhaps next year, he'll be partnered up with someone a little more capable of keeping up with his moves, as was noted by this fan after the first week's results. 

Who knows what the answer is here, but there's no denying Pasha Pashkov got the short end of the stick for some time now. Maybe next year the producers will throw him a bone — though not an actual skeleton — and he'll land a celeb who already knows how to wow others on the dance floor. That's assuming he doesn't leave before next season, which is something that happened with two pros ahead of the current season.

Bravo fans have seen a few weddings (and a number of failed vow renewals) on the Real Housewives franchise over the last nearly 20 years on air. Yet none of them will seemingly compare to the over-the-top nuptials of New Jersey alum Teresa Giudice and her beau, Luis Ruelas that took place on August 6th. The jaw-dropping cake was one thing, but Giudice’s $10,000 wedding hair is what really got the Internet talking. To top it off, it was revealed that her brother Joe and his wife/her co-star, Melissa Gorga, refused to attend the event. And the bride is finally speaking out about her feelings on the matter.

The word on the street is that while the Real Housewives of New Jersey cast had been filming the Season 13 finale, Teresa Giudice supposedly accused Melissa Gorga of cheating on Joe. It’s a pretty wild allegation, but one that isn’t too far-fetched if we consider the in-laws’ tense history on the show. (They famously feuded in the early seasons over Giudice accusing Gorga of being a prostitute.) Speaking on her newly launched podcast, aptly named Namaste B$tches, the 50-year-old newlywed didn’t seem upset in the slightest about her family’s absence on her big day. She said:

Basically, the TV personality is saying that Joe and Melissa Gorga didn’t have “good energy,” right? Hence why it was no biggie that they missed out on her wedding extravaganza? Which is interesting because Teresa Giudice is usually always about proclaiming “family, family, family” and sticking together with one’s “blood” no matter what. So I don’t know about y’all, but I’m still sensing another major Giudice-Gorga beef on the horizon.

The star didn’t give away any spoilers about the exact details coming up on The Real Housewives of New Jersey. We know that the Luis Ruelas wedding itself wasn’t filmed for Season 13, only the days leading up to it. And like the consummate reality TV star that she is, the new bride doubled down on not getting into the storylines, per contractual obligations, saying:

For his part, Joe Gorga appeared to be cryptically alluding to the family issues on his Instagram around the same time the news broke of his noted absence. He hinted at someone he loved hurting him, despite him trying to be understanding, about not feeling understood in return, and this week, he posted a hilarious sun-tanning selfie with the caption, “Disagreements are fine. Disrespect is not.”

Again, he didn’t directly mention his sister in those posts. However, both him and his wife eventually did on the latter’s own podcast, Melissa Gorga On Display. On it, the couple confirmed that missing the wedding was indeed tied up in the Season 13 finale debacle, although they added as well that the whole story wasn’t made public yet.

Still, the remarks from their podcast – to include calling out the situation with Teresa Giudice as “toxic” and hinting about needing to “walk away” after someone’s “aggression” in the finale – prompted a ton of speculation that Melissa Gorga might be exiting the reality series for good, as a result. Gorga later clarified on her Instagram that she has “no plans,” at present, to leave.

So Season 13 of The Real Housewives of New Jersey (which is expected for a release on Bravo in 2023) theoretically won't be the star's last. After 12 years on Bravo’s Real Housewives of New Jersey, is main castmate Melissa Gorga bowing out? There’s certainly talk that she might be, and it largely started when Gorga and her husband Joe decided to skip his sister Teresa Giudice’s wedding to Luis Ruelas on August 6. Their absence was reportedly due to a major row with the bride just beforehand, as Giudice was supposedly spreading rumors about her sister-in-law cheating with a family friend during filming of their show’s Season 13 finale. Melissa broke her silence about the situation on her podcast, but it only seemed to increase speculation about her quitting the series. So now, she is attempting to clarify what was said prior.

What Melissa Gorga Said About Reported Cheating Scandal

First, though: the podcast. During the August 11 episode of Melissa Gorga on Display, the reality star candidly shared that they didn’t go to the over-the-top wedding for a “laundry list” of reasons that she couldn’t entirely get into due to contractual obligations. Yet, she did confirm that part of it stemmed from a problem with Teresa Giudice and Luis Ruelas during the latest Real Housewives of New Jersey finale, but stated that the whole story wasn’t out yet. However, it was Gorga’s partial statement reposted to her Instagram (see below) that was what was really raising some eyebrows.

Technically, the TV personality was speaking abput their absence from the wedding, but it wasn't much of a leap for fans to assume Melissa Gorga was implying that they were likewise “walking away” from RHONJ itself if nuptials were in fact too “toxic” for them. The suspected cheating allegation leveled at her was seemingly just the last straw in a long history of discord within the family. I mean, even after their heightened arguments last season regarding loyalty, Gorga famously said she was “done” defending Teresa Giudice.

RHONJ Alum Addresses Potential Exit

In the wake of the hoopla over her commentary on the in-house matter, Melissa Gorga had to backpedal people’s assumptions a bit. The 43-year-old, who also starred in the premiere season of the spinoff Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip, followed up on her Instagram stories to share that she and her hubby are definitely not quitting the long-running reality series that she headlines alongside Teresa Giudice. So, I guess that’s that, until it isn't, but the family feud does remain an obvious problem. Their Season 5 riff in the early-2010s almost fractured their relationships entirely, and it sounds like history is repeating itself. While Joe Gorga famously got into a physical fight with Teresa Giudice’s first husband over talk about his own wife being a “prostitute” back then, it’s being said that there was yet another fight (or almost fight) in Season 13. Melissa Gorga admitted on her podcast that there was “aggression from certain people” that made things “a little scary.”

The couple continued in claiming there have been “past altercations” with Luis Ruelas, who has actually been accused of domestic violence by old romantic flames in the press. (He’s also been accused of using his now-wife to be on TV.) Nevertheless, the Gorgas hope that this new marriage is the kind of “happily ever after” that Teresa Giudice thinks it is.

Teresa Giudice certainly invested a lot of time, money and effort into the shindig. The $10,000 viral wedding hairstyle and special, custom-made veil and gown indicate as much. Although, will it cost her her family in the long run? I guess we’ll find out when Season 13 of the Real Housewives of New Jersey comes out, which is expected for early 2023.

Heavy spoke exclusively with the fashion designer behind the Real Housewives of New Jersey alum’s lavish look on her big day, Mark Zunino. He confirmed that the veil itself is in fact a tribute to Teresa Giudice’s late parents, who died in 2017 and 2020, respectively, and whom Giudice was famously very close to. The designer and star ultimately decided to embroider three hearts in commemoration, along with the Italian phrase “Sempre Insieme” which means “Always Together.”

The mile-high bridal hairstyle and groom’s cake for the festivities were truly something else, but perhaps even more jaw-dropping was the revelation that Giudice’s one and only brother, Joe Gorga, didn’t attend the nuptials, and nor did his family. Rumors are spreading like wildfire, as a result, that the siblings are in the midst of feuding (yet again). Gorga seemingly responded to all the talk, but it’s not exactly comforting one way or another.

Why Joe Gorga Didn't Attend Teresa Giudice's Wedding

First, let’s break down about what supposedly divided the notorious reality TV family ahead of the wedding. The ceremony itself wasn’t filmed by Bravo, yet according to multiple Daily Mail insiders, there was a big fight between Teresa Giudice and Joe Gorga and his wife Melissa Gorga while filming the Season 13 finale of the Real Housewives of New Jersey just prior to the big day. Apparently, the two women/co-stars got into a shouting match that was rooted around allegations that Melissa had cheated with a family friend named Nick Barotta.

One of the outlet’s sources denied the cheating speculation outright, saying it was “ridiculous” and “comical.” Teresa Giudice was the one who reportedly spread the rumor amongst the cast of the show in the first place – something she has been accused of doing before in regard to co-star Jackie Goldschneider and her husband in years past. A blowup ensued between Giudice and Melissa Gorga, and it was said that Joe Gorga had to be restrained from fighting Luis Ruelas amidst the hoopla.

Joe Gorga Reacts To Big Sister Beef?

Teresa Giudice’s brother has been posting several cryptic messages on his Instagram since that time. On July 21, just two weeks prior to the Luis Ruelas wedding, Joe Gorga captioned a photo of himself describing how even when an unnamed someone he loved had “hurt” him, he still “tried to understand” them. Then, on August 9, days after the news of his absence from the wedding got around, Gorga suggested that he wasn’t being fully understood in return. See here:

Now, as the Real Housewives of New Jersey fanbase are aware, the Giudices and Gorgas are known for their in-house fighting. In the earlier seasons of the reality series, a massive family feud erupted after Teresa Giudice alleged that Melissa Gorga used to be a prostitute. It reached such a boiling point that Joe and Teresa’s then-first husband (also named Joe) got into a brawl over it, which ultimately led to everyone not speaking for many years. It also happens to be the origin story behind the viral “Sad Song” that Will Smith and other celebs are prone to use.

Eventually, though, the siblings and in-laws worked out their issues. But even as recently as the last RHONJ season (now streaming on Peacock Premium), the brother and sister were at odds yet again. Funnily enough, they looked as if they worked things out again (with a little therapy spearheaded by reunion host Andy Cohen). But this new Season 13 drama suggests that maybe the Giudice-Gorga saga will never be fully resolved, especially if they have anything to say about it…

There’s no one size fits all wedding. Some people want 500 guests. Others want 12. Some people want to get married in a church with bridesmaids. Other people prefer to fly to Vegas. Whatever your ideal celebration looks like, you can make it happen, at least provided you have the right budget. According to E Online, Teresa Giudice’s wedding hair cost $9,500. I’m just gonna pause for a second here and repeat it like we would if we were just gossiping about this on a couch as friends. $9,500! She spent nearly $10,000 on her hair. Given the laws of rounding, you could even just say $10,000 and you wouldn’t really be wrong. And look, I write up wild celebrity price tag stuff all the time. Here’s an article about how Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck were buying a house with 17 bathrooms. I’m not normally surprised by how much things cost for famous people, but I’m still a little rattled here.

Let’s dig further and look at the breakdown. It was apparently $7,000 for the hairpiece and $2,500 for the labor for the stylist Lucia Casazza. I also thought that was a lot, but apparently it took more than two hours to even get out of it after the wedding was over. That’s because it’s essentially three pieces of mesh, clips and 1,500 bobby pins propping up seven bundles of keratin fusion extensions. 

The good news, though, is her hair looked great. Some haters in the cheap seats are saying it’s too extravagant or some nonsense, but it’s a Real Housewives wedding. Going big is basically expected, and this hair is halfway to God. Check it out…

As for the wedding itself, it took place at the Park Chateau Estate in East Brunswick, New Jersey over the weekend. The groom was Luis Ruelas, and by all accounts, it was a beautiful ceremony with an outrageous cake. Seriously, if you haven’t seen this thing yet, it might be louder than Teresa’s hair. Given the whole Real Housewives thing, though, I’m here for it. Some people have to push the boundaries of what’s acceptable at a wedding, and it takes personalities like this to do it.

Following the wedding, Giudice dropped a highlight video on Instagram to recap everything that happened and thank everyone involved for attending and helping put it together. In case you were wondering, yes, her stylist was among those thanked and rightfully so.

Yet, truth be told, no shortage of drama followed the happy couple down the aisle. As witnessed in Season 12 of the Real Housewives of New Jersey (now streaming in full on Peacock Premium), Luis Ruelas made his official entry into the group, and it wasn’t exactly pretty. His past romantic relationships (and allegations of abuse therein in the press) plagued his standings with the ladies and their husbands – mostly with co-star Margaret Josephs who had a lot of questions about the situation. Fans of the star were also very critical that Ruelas was only perhaps using her for her money/fame, which she has adamantly denied.

Interestingly, Margaret Josephs was supposedly spotted in attendance at the wedding. One who was not was the Gorga family, aka Teresa Giudice’s brother Joe, her sister-in-law/co-star Melissa and their three kids. Per sources for People, the siblings began feuding a few days prior to the wedding amidst filming for the reality show’s thirteenth season. As they tell it, Giudice “betrayed them” in an “unforgivable” way, which is what led to their controversial absence from the nuptials.

So, all in all, you know Season 13 of the Real Housewives of New Jersey is going to be giving serious Season 5 vibes. Although, I doubt the notoriously “zen” Luis Ruelas will get into a brawl over matters with Joe Gorga like Teresa Giudice’s last husband did that year… but Teresa and Melissa, now that’s another story entirely, and I can’t wait to see it. (Just not the wedding itself because Teresa was emphatic that it wasn’t going to be filmed for the show…probably for good reason.)

Thanks to fellow franchise star Ramona Singer, the beans were actually spilled last month about the when and where particulars of the nuptials: Park Chateau Estate in East Brunswick, New Jersey, on August 6. Season 13 of the RHONJ will still be filming around the same time which, naturally, has led to assumptions that Teresa Giudice will adhere to the long Real Housewives tradition of a grandiose wedding episode – with perhaps a little drama on the side. However, when recently speaking to Page Six, the bride-to-be was emphatic that her and Luis Ruelas’ wedding is “definitely not” going to be on the next season.

We can’t exactly blame her for foregoing such an undertaking. While the mother of four daughters didn’t explain the reasoning behind the decision, it’s pretty obvious that her relationship already didn’t fare well in the last season of The Real Housewives of New Jersey. There was quite a lot of controversial chatter in fact about Luis Ruelas, with co-star Margaret Josephs and others bringing up several disturbing allegations about the businessman, including accusations of domestic violence with previous partners. Meanwhile, fans continue to question whether Ruelas is just using his partner to be on TV.

The Bravo alum certainly didn’t appreciate the talk about her now-fiancé – and even blamed Margaret Josephs for tipping off the press to what she sees as only rumors about him. Their beef over the situation got violent during the infamous couple’s trip to Nashville in Season 12. They actually won “Best Fight” in a reality show at the 2022 MTV Movie and TV Awards for it, but Teresa Giudice has hinted that their friendship might be permanently irreparable as a result of the tense argument.

Nevertheless, the wedding ceremony being featured on TV isn’t totally out of the question. When asked if there might be a standalone special for the big day, Teresa Giudice only told the outlet: “I don’t know. We’ll see.” Her sister-in-law/co-star, Melissa Gorga, likewise had said that she “can’t imagine it not being filmed” in some capacity. The Real Housewives franchise has done as much several times in the past, such as Kandi’s Wedding and Tamra’s O.C. Wedding. (Bravo’s Scheana Shay has said lately that her official wedding to Brock Davies could be filmed as a Vanderpump Rules special, too.)

The New Jersey star added that she’s “getting nervous” about her upcoming walk down the aisle. The extensive planning to make sure everything will “go well” is apparently the impetus behind the nerves – not any doubts about Luis Ruelas. She explained that she’s “excited” to become his wife and of course, for their European honeymoon together.

Whether the ceremony is seen on-screen or not, Season 13 is still expected to be another doozy. The same cast has reportedly returned yet again and with past infidelity coming to light, parental health problems surfacing and just all-around bad blood afoot… well, us fans know the stage is already set for even more wild storylines. And I think we know who isn't getting a wedding invite from Teresa Giudice...

In particular, the first season of Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip was nominated for Best New Unscripted Series, and Giudice was nominated for Best Reality Star and co-nominated for Best Fight alongside co-star Margaret Josephs for their Nashville feud in Season 12 of RHNJ. 

While walking the red carpet beforehand with fiancé Louie Ruelas, she spoke to Where Is The Buzz about being in the public eye for so long and reality TV fans growing up alongside her own family. She said:

It was a nice sentiment, although it wasn’t exactly followed by her nabbing any awards that night. (Selling Sunset’s Chrishell Stause took home Best Reality Star.) But what did follow Teresa Giudice was a wave of commentary about her black Steven Dann gown when ex Real Housewives of New York star Bethenny Frankel posted a snap of them together on her Instagram. Per Teresa Giudice’s own words, the reality TV world comes with its ups and downs. And part of the downs is that everything she does can be criticized online. Spectators quickly flooded Frankel’s post with opinions on Giudice’s stylistic choices in the photo, and it wasn’t pretty. One fan wrote,

Lisa Rinna was another target of the Real Housewives fashion police and roast club of the day, with one fan remarking that she is “morphing into Stephen Tyler.” However, others continued to quip about Teresa Giudice and how hard it must’ve been for the famously blunt Bethenny Frankel to not call her out on the supposed fashion faux pas:

The majority of the reality star’s fans left much kinder remarks about the outfit on her post. They said she was giving “Charlie’s Angels gorgeousness vibes” and also deemed her an “icon,” “legend” and “queen of reality TV.” Or as one fan put it,

It’s not really an old-school Real Housewives of New Jersey fight until Teresa Giudice takes it there. In the currently airing Season 12, the formerly incarcerated reality star has been at odds with her once-close friend Margaret Josephs. Simply put, Giudice doesn’t like when anyone questions her boyfriend(/now-fiancé) Louie Ruelas about his intentions or his past. The drama has escalated even more on the show of late, and Josephs revealed that watching it back is evidently “worse” than living it.

During the April 19th episode, things got positively fiery down in Nashville, where the group is on vacation. Of course, it was over Louie Ruelas. Again. It eventually culminated in Teresa Giudice throwing a drink at Margaret Josephs and nearly flipping another table in the process of the confrontation. As the Marge tells it, she wouldn’t know the full extent of her co-star’s fury until recently. The Real Housewives of New Jersey alum said to Us Weekly: 

Teresa Giudice has been going up against several members of the cast this season about her new man. First, it was hints from her sister-in-law Melissa Gorga that there were behind-the-scenes arguments going on in their family group chat. (Supposedly, some kind of gag-order is in place concerning the topic of Louie Ruelas’ history, which allegedly includes domestic violence.) Then, “friend of the show” Traci Johnson caught heat over the same subject from the RHONJ vet, and Johnson to this day doesn’t understand how her husband bringing something up on guys night is reason enough to be mad at her.

Now, the drama is knocking on Margaret Josephs' door for the umpteenth time, due to her apparently breaking Teresa Giudice’s “love bubble.” And to be honest, it’s equally as upsetting as a viewer to see the demise of what used to be a pretty quirky/fun friendship. Josephs told the outlet that she never thought things would ever get violent on New Jersey yet again, saying:

Margaret Josephs shared that she’s given her castmate “one too many passes.” She also added that the Real Housewives of New Jersey crew just filmed the Season 12 reunion special with Andy Cohen, and Teresa Giudice didn’t have “any remorse” for what transpired between them. This apparently includes Giudice’s comments about Josephs in the heat of the moment, which have been perceived as body-shaming. Josephs recalled that it was “degrading,” as well as being not the best form, given how the show is addressing Jackie Goldschneider’s eating disorder more in-depth this season.

For her part, Teresa Giudice has only stated publicly in the wake of this season that her friendship with Margaret Josephs might not survive in the long-run. And sadly, Josephs seems to be of the same opinion, too. Besides that shocking infidelity reveal, the hottest topic in Season 12 of The Real Housewives of New Jersey concerns Teresa Giudice’s then-boyfriend, Louie Ruelas, who she has since become formally engaged to. A scandalous video of the 46-year-old businessman surfaced online right as filming was occurring. In it, Ruelas is supposedly butt naked on a “men’s retreat,” begging for forgiveness from a woman he reportedly abused. The cast obviously had a lot of questions about the situation, including new “friend of the show” Traci Johnson and her husband, Tiki Barber. Recently, Johnson opened up further about the drama that ensued with Giudice over their curiosity.

In a recent episode of the reality series, Teresa Giudice made it exponentially clear to her freshman co-star that she should mind her own business. The longtime Real Housewives of New Jersey alum specifically took issue with Traci Johnson questioning Louie Ruelas’ past and seemingly sending her hubby to get the deets about it during guys night. But evidently, Johnson doesn’t get the defensiveness to this day. Speaking to Entertainment Tonight, she said:

“Typical” Teresa Giudice would be how the reality star can go H.A.M. for a romantic partner – no matter the cost, no matter the logic. She went to federal prison for a year in fact for ex-husband Joe Giudice (and still has some friends from that particular stint) after years of swatting down infidelity rumors and chatter about his questionable character. And in Season 12 of the RHNJ, she’s defending Louie Ruelas left and right, including over allegations that he’s just with her to be on TV. All in all, it could potentially mean the end of any friendship with co-star Margaret Josephs and the newcomer.

As for New Jersey’s Traci Johnson, though, she views it as kind of obvious that everyone and their mother (and husband) wants to know the truth about her co-star's intended. In fact, Johnson thought when husband Tiki cut to the chase like how he did, it was the best opportunity for the businessman to get ahead of the matter. She admitted to the outlet:

Louie Ruelas’ side of the story – as we’ve come to learn on The Real Housewives of New Jersey – is that the video in question was just a retreat to better himself. He denied any violence with any exes. He also implied that the accusations coming out are from jaded women seeking TV notoriety, not the other way around.

I think many Bravo alums would agree that you don’t critique Teresa Giudice’s world willy-nilly. And just like Jackie Goldschneider found out the hard way in her fight with Giudice over a coke analogy last year, Traci Johnson is seemingly learning the aforementioned point the hard way. The last season of The Real Housewives of New Jersey went to hell in a handbasket, as we like to say in the South. Teresa Giudice repeated a massive cheating rumor about Jackie Goldschneider’s husband – at Jackie Goldschneider’s husband’s own backyard birthday party – to everyone in attendance. At the time, Goldschneider was absolutely livid with her co-star for spreading a flat-out “lie,” but in the new season, the two have seemed to work things out. Or have they? In light of the rumor getting mentioned yet again in recent episodes, the reality star shares how she feels now about Giudice and the situation.

Specifically, Jackie Goldschneider’s husband Evan was accused of having a girlfriend on the side that he met at the gym. It was debunked for the most part, yet Teresa Giudice decided to use it as a comparison in Season 12. The formerly incarcerated mother of four claimed that bringing up what only amounted to a rumor last year was somehow better than what Margaret Josephs did in exposing a real cheater in Jennifer Aydin’s husband Bill. Goldschneider alleged to Entertainment Tonight that Giudice’s intent was essentially selfish, saying,

To be fair, Teresa Giudice clearly just wanted to defend Jennifer Aydin when she was feeling outcast by the group. However, given all the flak she had to overcome in the first place for the Goldschneider allegations, one would’ve thought she would let that sleeping dog lie, so to speak. But Jackie Goldschneider herself isn't totally salty about the rumors anymore, regardless. She said to the outlet,

I’m sensing a little bit of shade there… It would appear Jackie Goldschneider and Teresa Giudice are still on tenuous ground in the wake of the cheating rumors and their subsequent fight about using Gia in a cocaine analogy. Giudice’s friendship with Margaret Josephs is apparently also shaky, according to the longtime Real Housewives of New Jersey star. (Things got particularly intense between them in the latest episode concerning Louie Ruelas’ motives for being on the show in the first place.)

Jen Shah’s initial arrest for charges related to fraud and money laundering last year, as well as the subsequent aftermath, have been playing out on The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City for a few months now. However, her case is still very much ongoing off-camera. The reality star’s pretrial hearing is in fact next week. Ahead of the hearing, Teresa Giudice’s former lawyer has weighed in with his own expertise in these cases and explained why he believes Shah being on the Real Housewives doesn’t help matters any.

As viewers likewise saw play out on The Real Housewives of New Jersey for several seasons, its main cast member, Teresa Giudice, and her husband Joe faced fraud charges. And they ultimately served prison time after taking a guilty plea deal. Giudice would go on to serve almost 12 months in prison herself (and apparently, still talks to some of the women she met there). Her lawyer at that time, James J. Leonard Jr., explained to Fox News Digital that Jen Shah featuring prominently on Salt Lake City will likely pose a similar problem, saying:

Teresa Giudice herself admitted as of late that being in the public eye certainly doesn’t do Real Housewives stars any favors in the dating department, either. Her former lawyer told the outlet that Jen Shah’s pretrial hearing this Tuesday will have both sides reporting to the judge about where the case is “ultimately going.” It all could potentially be resolved by a plea bargain or moved ahead to a full trial.

So far, as audiences have seen on the second season of Real Housewives of Salt Lake City, the polarizing star has maintained her innocence in the purported telemarketing scheme she is accused of running. Her mom has put up her retirement to help fight the case, and the teaser for the finale episode even suggested that she will take it all the way to trial.

Jen Shah and her legal team have actually endeavored twice now to get the fraud case thrown out entirely, citing issues with how her arrest went down. The judge denied her attempts, twice. It doesn’t bode well, too, that Shah’s accused co-conspirator and former assistant, Stuart Smith, took a guilty plea deal in November. He’s out on bail now, but his sentencing court date is set for March 3 (per People) and the combined maximum sentence for his three charges is 70 years in prison.

Teresa Giudice’s former lawyer would add that the pretrial hearing for Jen Shah is a “very serious situation.” He knows firsthand – after seeing Giudice separated from her four young daughters for a year – that receiving a guilty verdict in a case isn’t “theater” like how it’s portrayed on Bravo's reality TV franchise. He said about Jen Shah,

Erika Jayne of the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills has gotten some good news in her own legal problems, but she also feels some kind of way about how being on the show affected things for her. We’ll have to wait and see on February 22 how it all plays out for Jen Shah’s case. In the meantime, fans can catch the Salt Lake City finale, which airs on February 20 at 9 p.m. EST.

The new season of The Real Housewives of New Jersey has arrived, and it's getting old school amongst the cast. Meaning, battle lines will be drawn and drinks will soon start flying. The teaser for Season 12 shows an all-out feud between former good friends Teresa Giudice and Margaret Josephs, supposedly stemming from the latter trying to pop Giudice’s “love bubble” with new fiancé Louis Ruelas. And the longtime Bravo alum is answering the question all the fans want to know: will she and Josephs possibly be friends again one day?

So far as we know, Margaret Josephs will eventually question Louis Ruelas’ intentions for fame in the season and also call Teresa Giudice a “sick, disgusting liar.” The accusations apparently push Giudice back to her iconic table-flipping days – this time on Josephs during a couples’ trip in Nashville. It doesn't look pretty, and Giudice isn't so optimistic about a future reconciliation in the wake of what happens. The Real Housewives of New Jersey star said to Entertainment Tonight:

Previously, the reality TV star had denied speculation about her fiancé possibly only wanting to be with her so he could be on television. She added to ET recently that being on the Real Housewives “is not fun” for Louis Ruelas or most men that Bravo stars try to date, due to the intense scrutiny. So maybe the Season 12 drama fizzles out and what we’re seeing is just another slight of the network's editing hand? Again, it’s not so clear because Teresa Giudice also said that she was “hurt and disgusted” by her castmate. The formerly incarcerated reality star elaborated why it might take her a “long time” to forgive Josephs, saying:

The February 1st premiere episode of the twelfth season didn't give much hints of what's to come in the fraught friendship. We'll find out soon enough but, in the interim, the more pressing concern seems to be the other bubbling feud between Teresa Giudice’s kids and their uncle, Joe Gorga. 21-year-old viral sensation Gia Giudice was seen getting into a heated argument with Gorga, and it's giving serious 2009 RHONJ vibes (when there was a Godfather-style family fracture going on). Or, really, every season with the complicated Giudices.

Co-star Jackie Goldschneider knows all too well that you can't even make analogies where Teresa Giudice’s kids are concerned. Prior to Erika Jayne and Jen Shah’s current legal woes, there were the bombshell fraud charges against Teresa Giudice and her then-husband Joe Giudice in 2013. The couple would eventually strike a deal with prosecutors: they pled guilty to 41 counts of fraud, with Teresa getting sentenced to 15 months and Joe to 41 months in prison. Ultimately, Teresa Giudice served less than 12 months of her 15-month prison sentence. (She was released the day before Christmas Eve in 2015.) But the reality star is getting frank about the ordeal and her ex as well. She told Andy Cohen on his SiriusXM radio show:

Though the star has spoken about these experiences on Real Housewives of New Jersey and in her books at length, the topic of her prison sentence is usually a touchy subject live in the moment. In the last season of the show alone, co-star Jackie Goldschneider pushed Giudice’s buttons majorly when she asked her, “Did you get that confidence from jail?” For context, they had been arguing over cheating rumors and coke analogies, but the drama went even further left after the jail comment.

However, nowadays, the Bravo alum is OK when asked about that time (if it's coming from a friend). Andy Cohen questioned if Teresa Giudice – who just came off an island stint with the likes of Ramona Singer on the Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip – still talks to the woman she was incarcerated with, and surprisingly, she dropped a name, saying:

It's likely that Teresa Giudice is so candid about her prison experience of late because she is well and truly moved on from it. Not only is she divorced from her ex who got her into the legal mess, but they have reportedly finished paying restitution for what was owed in their case. The New Jersey alum is also now engaged to her beau, Luis Ruelas, after just a year of dating.

Supposedly, Luis Reulas’ name gets dragged into the mud in the upcoming season of the reality series. Castmates might want to be weary, though, because Teresa Giudice is (obviously) a loyal partner. The theory that he is using the Real Housewives star for screen time is, for the most part, coming from a genuine place of concern. Not only has their relationship been relatively short prior to getting engaged but Teresa Giudice only just got out of her 20-year marriage to Joe Giudice last year. (Which was a mess in and of itself, given how she was implicated in his fraud crimes and they were both sent to prison as a result.) Still, the New Jersey star believes the suggestions about her new fiancé are malicious and unwarranted. She responded to the claims to Entertainment Tonight, saying:

It is, in fact, likely that Louie Ruelas has good intentions with his future wife. He's not exactly going to achieve the higher echelons of fame and fortune by being a storyline on the Bravo network. What's more is that despite casually dating the star for months last year while the Real Housewives of New Jersey was filming, he only had one brief appearance at the end. This will surely change, though, in the upcoming ­twelfth season, seeing as how close they've really gotten. And his soon-to-be-wifey has a clear warning for his naysayers:

What does mega-celebrity and Oscar nominee Will Smith have in common with Gia Giudice, the daughter of a Real Housewives of New Jersey reality star? Turns out, it's that both can find the silliness or make their own during an otherwise dramatic moment. The Fresh Prince star recently used an old clip from Giudice’s “Sad Song” on Instagram. It then went viral on TikTok, which ultimately prompted a kind message from Giudice herself.

In fact, the daughter of Teresa Giudice was seemed honored ( and rightfully so, imo) that Will Smith used her “Sad Song" for his own purpose. When asked about the viral moment in a recent interview, she noted to E! News:

If you haven't caught the viral moment yet, in his own post on Instagram, Will Smith hilariously overlaid the “Sad Song” with himself looking a bit haggard and the caption, “Remembering the time I thought it would be a good idea to make a St. Patrick's Day video alone in a hotel room.” Many TikTok users then did what they do best – and ran wild with it.

The main line of the “Sad Song” is actually “Waking up in the morning, Thinking about so many things, I just wish things would get better.” The dramatic lyric has since been superimposed over several just completely wild examples, including the one below.

But most of the “Sad Song” renditions are a lot of weird, personal and specific moments that are ultimately made silly when contrasted by Gia Giudice’s 10-year-old sincere emotions. Here's another one of the viral interpretations:

Many Real Housewives of New Jersey fans will remember the “Sad Song” origins very vividly. It was during Season 3 of the Bravo show that Gia Giudice performed the song at her younger sister Melania's birthday party. Amongst the contentious drama between Giudice's mother, her uncle Joe Gorga and aunt Melissa Gorga, Gia broke down in tears during the song. It was a truly emotional moment and a brave one at that time for a girl as young as Gia was.

Gia Giudice is now known somewhat on Real Housewives of New Jersey as the voice of reason over her frequently unreasonable mother, Teresa Giudice. In this current season, Teresa has been embroiled in a he said-she said with co-star Jackie Goldschneider, culminating with Goldschneider saying Gia “snorts coke in the bathroom at parties” as part of an analogy. Teresa took the analogy literally and flipped her wig, so to speak. But in a later phone conversation with Gia, her daughter advised that Teresa shouldn't have spoken about Goldschneider's husband and should apologize.

The Real Housewives children are certainly subject to a lot of moments that live in perpetuity on the Bravo network, but Gia Giudice’s “Sad Song” is in the top tier. Yet the now 20-year-old Gia Giudice, as evidenced by her remark to Will Smith, has taken it in stride. She even teased that she may "do one of his songs in return." It's the same old familiar story of a birthday party that spirals into a season-long fight because of alcohol and rumors. A war of words between castmates Jackie Goldschneider and Teresa Giudice inevitably triggered a major online backlash.

Real Housewives of New Jersey's Jackie Goldschneider is facing harsh criticism for saying Teresa Giudice's daughter Gia, 20, “snorts coke in the bathroom at parties” in the Season 11 premiere. Goldschneider, for her part, saw it only as a way to teach Giudice (who publicly accused Goldschneider's husband of cheating on her at his birthday party) the lesson of “an eye for an eye” when it comes to false rumors. Fans and colleagues of the show have weighed in that Goldschneider went too far to prove a point and that children should be strictly off limits.

Even Dorinda Medley, an ex-Real Housewives of New York City member, addressed the pair in a tweet. The fellow Bravo reality star called Jackie Goldschneider “the lowest of the lowest” for her comments. And most of the fans and fellow Real Housewives don't disagree.

Us Weekly recently spoke with some of the other Real Housewives of New Jersey cast about Jackie Goldschneider and Teresa Giudice's fight. For the most part, the Housewives think Jackie Goldschneider went too far. Jennifer Aydin, a recent member of the crew, weighed in that Goldschneider had it coming, saying,

Fellow Real Housewives of New Jersey castmate Margaret Josephs had a slightly more sympathetic view of the Goldschneider-Giudice fight. She revealed that, though Goldschneider claims it was an analogy, Giudice at the time “didn't realize it wasn't an analogy.” She continued,

Regardless of who started the fight or who was truly in the wrong, the season promos clearly indicate the Jackie Goldschneider-Teresa Giudice fight will be at the forefront of this Real Housewives of New Jersey season (among a few other fights about cheating rumors). Any future Housewives looking to join the franchise can study this fight for one of two things: how to not break The Cardinal Rule or how to break it and have the biggest storyline of the season.

Real Housewives Of New Jersey star Teresa Giudice is going to jail. She pled guilty to an army of fraud and fraud-related charges today as part of an agreement with prosecutors that will send her to the slammer for between 21 and 27 months, depending on how the judge is feeling when she’s formally sentenced on July 8. That time away from society will keep her away from her children, but it apparently won't stop her from finishing her work on Season 6 of her hit reality show.

According to TMZ, the Giudice’s and their castmates have already started shooting Season 6. Producers are reportedly planning to move as quickly as possible to get everything done and wrapped. The regular episodes aren’t expected to be a problem, but the always over-the-top reality show, which is filmed much later could ultimately be Giudice-less. Regardless of whether they’re there or not, however, the conversation will definitely feature plenty of talk about their legal situation. (Fun fact: that sentence contained there, their and they’re)

While others might run from their rather embarrassing plight, Teresa and her husband Joe, who is facing 37 to 46 months accoriding to People, have reportedly okayed producers to make it a major storyline for the season. As such, the Housewives franchise will probably get as real as it’s gotten since Russell Armstrong tragically killed himself, as viewers are walked through the family’s devastating legal issues.

The goal of all the honesty, however, might not be transparency in and of itself. Thanks to all of the fraud charges, Joe reportedly hasn’t exactly been able to pound the pavement and make a ton of money on his own lately. That’s left the family with various reality shows like Housewives and Celebrity Apprentice to help pay the bills. They’re very luctative compared to say working at Macy’s, but they’re not exactly the type of activities that generate millions of dollars a year.

The charges the Giudice’s pled guilty to are very complicated and run the gamut from wire fraud to hiding assets during bankruptcy. They involve shell corporations, illegal mortgages and a whole host of other bizarre schemes, all of which the government did not look too kindly on. After the couple’s arrest, most people assumed Teresa would cop a deal with the government and testify against her husband in exchange for avoiding jailtime, but in the end, they decided to stand together. That’ll help their marriage, but whether or not it’ll help their family is still up in the air.

It hasn’t been the best week for Real Housewives star Teresa Giudice. In fact, it’s been a complete and utter disaster. The reality star and her husband Joe Giudice were indicted by the Federal Government on a total of thirty-nine suspected crimes, ranging from wire fraud to mail fraud to hiding assets during bankruptcy to falsifying information on mortgage applications. If convicted, the two could spend thirty years or more in prison, which, given their ages, would represent a majority of the rest of their lives.

Earlier today, Teresa and Joe put up $500,000 each, their passports and their freedom to travel outside of either New York or New Jersey in exchange for a judge allowing the pair to remain free until their upcoming trial. Via her attorney, Teresa vowed to fight the charges with everything she has, but as for what she’ll do once she actually gets in front of a judge, no one really has any idea.

You see, the Federal Government has been after Joe Giudice for quite awhile. His legal problems have frequently been the subject of discussion on Real Housewives of New Jersey, and while Teresa has always vehemently stood by her husband, most observers assume she hasn’t really played a central role in any of these legal issues. Consequently, if she’s interested in making a deal, there’s an extremely good chance the Federal Government would be willing to plead her out in exchange for a very short jail sentence and/ or probation and a fine.

On the one hand, no one wants to plead guilty to anything they don’t feel they were directly responsible for. Admitting as much isn’t a whole lot of fun. Nor is testifying against your own husband. By accepting a plea deal, there’s a very real possibility the Government would make her get on the stand and point the finger at her husband, and in doing so, she would probably help push him into a lengthy jail sentence. Besides, there’s always the chance these two could actually beat the charges. On the other hand, however, there isn’t one single charge to beat. There’s thirty-nine. Someone needs to raise the couple’s four daughters, and if Joe really is guilty, there’s no reason why both of them should go to jail. If she wasn’t really involved in any of the financial crimes, the kids sure as hell weren’t involved in any financial crimes, and they deserve to have at least one parent be there when they graduate high school.

The Federal Government typically doesn’t play around when it comes to fraud charges, but if there was any remaining question as to how serious Uncle Sam is about going after Teresa and Joe Giudice, those lingering whispers were answered this morning when the two reality stars were each forced to post $500,000 bonds in order to regain their freedom. Given they recently went through bankruptcy, it’s unclear exactly where the change may have come from, but however it happened, they were able to post the amount owed and walk out.

According to TMZ, the Real Housewives stars, despite regaining their freedom, were forced to make a few concessions. Both Joe and Teresa were forced to turn in their passports to the Federal Government, and they each had to promise not to leave New Jersey. In addition, Joe, since he’s not a United States citizen, will have to undergo drug testing until the legal matter is resolved. Exactly when that might be isn’t known at this time, but all involved are due back in court on August 14 for the formal arraignment.

Joe has had his share of legal problems over the past few years, but this current drama was only made public yesterday. Both husband and wife were charged with a mess of crimes including but not limited to wire fraud, mail fraud, lying on a loan application, failing to pay income taxes and failing to disclose all assets during a bankruptcy proceeding. If convicted on all the charges, they each could be looking at decades in jail. Early indications are the two will plead not guilty to the charges, but there remains a strong possibility the Government may decide to cut a deal with her.

Exactly what her involvement in these alleged crimes is the big elephant in the room. She’s claimed in the past that she’s been unaware of any shady financial dealings her husband has been apart of. Clearly, the Government thinks she at least knew about these alleged faulty loan applications and other white collar crimes. Regardless, it may be in the best interests of everyone to have her plead guilty to some lesser charges, get about six months in jail and return to society as a mother to her four young children. After all, it would be devastating for these kids to lose both of their parents to some idiotic financial schemes.

Ordinarily, defendants are advised not to speak publically about ongoing legal matters, but Teresa is a woman who enjoys getting her side out in public. As such, there’s a strong possibility we could be hearing from the Celebrity Apprentice veteran within a matter of days. If she does decide to talk, we’ll bring you her take. Teresa Giudice is staring into the eyes of her most relentless and intimidating enemy yet, and unlike her co-stars on The Real Housewives of New Jersey, this opponent has no interest in making up and no plans on backing down. This morning, the Federal Government of the United States of America officially charged the reality star along with her husband Joe Giudice with a litany of offenses, most of which could be filed under the heading “fraud”.

According to Fox News, a grand jury okayed Uncle Sam to file thirty-nine counts in all. From mail fraud to wire fraud to hiding assets during the couple’s recent bankruptcy to not paying income taxes between 2004 and 2008 to obtaining mortgages illegally, the list of money-related crimes is extremely long, and at this point, it seems like it will be a huge uphill battle to keep the famous couple out of jail. If convicted on all the charges, they could spend five decades or so in jail.

Since Real Housewives Of New Jersey began airing back in 2009, Joe’s very real legal problems and the couple’s money issues have been mined for subject matter. For a long time, it was widely assumed nothing serious would happen to Teresa, at least legally, but thanks to the new filings, we now know the Government is going after her too. As such, this drama drama could provide some riveting episodes of RHONJ and/ or it could remove arguably the most popular woman on the show.

For whatever reason, there are a lot of celebrities who (allegedly) try to cheat when it comes to paying taxes and dealing with banks on monetary issues. Given how slow the IRS can be at fact checking and how simple it seems to lie, those who attempt to stretch the truth can usually get away with it for a bit, but in the long run, the Federal Government tends to unleash holy hell on rich people who don’t pay what they owe. In the long run, saving a little money isn’t worth the potential of being deprived of your freedom, and besides, most people wind up spending more money defending themselves in court than they would have by actually paying the full amount.
