It was over a year ago that Todd and Julie Chrisley were pardoned by U.S. President Donald Trump after serving prison time due to bank fraud, tax evasion and other alleged offenses. Since then, the couple has been easing back into their day-to-day lives and, interestingly enough, neither of them have jumped back into the reality TV space on a full-time basis. In 2025, it was reported that the pair were set to re-enter the medium and that discussions were being had. Now, Todd is weighing in on why he still hasn’t returned.

Considering the success of the Chrisley family’s 10-season USA Network show – Chrisley Knows Best – it pretty much seemed like a given that they would set up another series. In 2025, Lifetime did order an eight-part docuseries called The Chrisleys: Back to Reality, centering on how the kids were coping amid the parents’ imprisonment. Ironically, Julie and Todd were released before the show finished filming and appeared in the last stretch of the series.

Both Todd and Julie Chrisley recently reflected on that time in their lives during an episode of daughter Savannah’s Unlocked podcast. Aside from reflecting on what life’s been like since leaving prison, the pair also discussed their careers. Savannah grilled Todd about saying on his Two Sons and Me podcast that he was done with TV. However, the patriarch and father six sought to set the record straight and explain his rationale:

So it seems Chrisley is interested in returning to the small screen but only if that happens with a project he feels comfortable with. Technically, Chrisley did return to TV earlier this year when he and Julie competed on The Masked Singer. Of course, a reality show centered on his family’s life is (understandably) much more personal for Todd than his stint as one member of the Croissants. Chrisley is also fully aware that the landscape has changed over the past few years and, with that, he knows exactly what he wants for his next show:

That’s not the only factor Chrisley has considered. For years, claims of inauthenticity have plagued the reality TV medium for years, with many viewers having accused a number of productions of staging moments. For his part, Chrisley is staunchly against faking anything for the cameras. On that note, he laid out some potential events he’d love to share with audiences authentically:

Of course, there are several factors to consider for Chrisley and co.’s big return to TV, including money. It was reported around the summer of 2025 that Todd was looking for a deal worth at least $5 million but that network execs weren’t willing to budge on that. At the same time, there’s also the matter of how Todd and Julie will be received by the general public. PR experts believe the Chrisleys should tread lightly and should keep in mind that “you can’t Netflix your way out of disgrace” following legal issues.

Naysayers don’t appear to be on Todd Chrisley’s mind at this point, though. Fans of the Chrisleys may be ecstatic to hear Todd would like to return to TV but, given how particular he is about that, viewers probably shouldn’t expect him to return before the end of the 2026 TV schedule. In the meantime, though, fans can stream all 10 seasons of Chrisley Knows Best using a Peacock subscription.

Todd and Julie Chrisley’s realities were quite different this time last year, as the celebrity couple were still in their respective prisons just shortly before being pardoned by President Trump. More recently, the Chrisleys have been settling back into their old lives and, all the while, rumors have been swirling around their financial state. Although neither of them are providing specifics on their money, what’s known is that Todd is now in the position of owing more than $700,000 to a former government employee.

Several years ago, Todd Chrisley became ensnared in a lawsuit initiated by Amy Doherty-Heinze, a former tax creditor with the Georgia Department of Revenue. Doherty-Heinze alleged that Chrisley launched a smear campaign against her amid his and Julie’s tax fraud trial, and he reportedly made false statements about the tax official and some of her colleagues. Doherty-Heinze ultimately won her defamation suit in 2024 and, as a result, Chrisley currently owes her $750,000 in restitution.

Per a recent update from TMZ, the Chrisley Knows Best star has allegedly still not paid off that debt, and Doherty-Heinze is apparently taking steps to obtain the money. The former Department of Revenue employee recently filed documents in Tennessee, where the Chrisleys are now purportedly living. While the news outlet doesn’t provide any specifics regarding how Doherty-Heinze is aiming to get the money, it’s reported that she’s taking the necessary steps to obtain payment.

The lawsuit came years after Todd and Julie Chrisley were found guilty of tax evasion, bank fraud and other finance-based offenses. In time, the couple were sentenced to years in prison, with Todd being ordered to serve 12 years in the Florida-based Federal Prison Camp and Julie sentenced to seven years at Lexington Medical Center in Kentucky. Ahead of reporting to prison, both Chrisleys (as well as their daughter, Savannah) were critical of the court’s handling of their case.

As a result of their guilty verdicts, the Chrisleys were also ordered to pay restitution to the banks they allegedly defrauded. That total sum came to $17.2 million, and insiders claimed the Chrisleys would have to sell off significant assets in order to pay off that sum. During an interview in 2025, however, the couple revealed they hadn’t paid any of that money due to the court order being put on hold amid their appeal process. It was during that same interview, from Tamron Hall, that Todd revealed he and Julie paid $3 million in legal fees.

Since the Chrisleys were released from prison, sources have alleged that their money problems aren’t over. When Todd Chrisley responded, he refuted the notion that he and his spouse were in financial trouble, declaring that the public at large had no idea how much money he actually had in his bank account.

The specifics of the Chrisleys’ financial standing may not be known to the general public right now but, regardless of that, the $750,000 payment Amy Doherty-Heinze is seeking, still signifies a lot of money. As of this writing, Todd’s lawyer has yet to provide comment on Doherty-Heinze’s recently filed legal documents or how the Chrisley patriarch is planning to pay the court-ordered sum.

As The View co-host Alyssa Farah Griffin remains on maternity leave, the producers of the daytime talk show have arranged for an array of media personalities to guest host. Elisabeth Hasselbeck and Amanda Carpenter are among the notable names who’ve been tapped to appear on the show. Kicking off the slate, though, was reality TV star Savannah Chrisley, who sat alongside Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar and co. from February 17 to 20. Now, her parents, Todd and Julie, and weighing in on how she fared at the iconic table.

Julie and Todd Chrisley discussed Savannah’s stint on The View during an episode of their Chrisley Confessions 2.0 podcast, which was seemingly recorded shortly after Savannah’s debut. Todd began by admitting he “did not want” Savannah serving as a panelist on the long-running ABC series. While Todd stressed that he wouldn’t criticize Goldberg, who has always been “supportive” of them but said he didn’t know the other ladies well. While Todd said the hosts were nice on air, he also posed an assumption at that time:

Savannah Chrisley holds conservative-leaning views, and she made it clear from the jump that she wasn’t intending to be meek when conversing with the more liberal pundits on the show. Before her stint began, Chrisley even issued a warning, saying that while she would be respectful, she also wouldn’t forget that some of the hosts criticized her parents after they were found guilty of tax fraud and more in 2022.

Todd Chrisley later said on the podcast (which was shared to YouTube) that his daughter did “great” on the show, though he also said he sensed “a little something” from a couple of panelists responding to Savannah. From there, he and Julie weighed in on what should and shouldn’t be expected from the popular talk show:

• Julie: I think you expect [tension] on that show. I don’t think you go on that show and think that it’s going to be a Wednesday night prayer group.
• Todd: No, but it shouldn’t be a bitch bash, either. I think that when you’re dealing with The View, you know, I felt that Whoopi was very respectful. I felt Sara [Haines] was. Joy is just dismissive, right? Because it’s not what she wants to hear, right? Sunny [Hostin], you know, she gave a little bit of side eye, right? But, you know, she’s been respectful thus far.

The Chrisley patriarch then stressed that he wouldn’t “get down in the gutter and talk about these women,” as he didn’t want to start “doing the same thing that everybody else is complaining about [the hosts] doing.” Julie went on to say that she believed this to be an amazing “opportunity” for Savannah and that being in a space with people who hold different perspectives would help her grow, with Todd agreeing with the latter point.

Savannah Chrisley did indeed disagree with the co-hosts on certain subjects while on The View, including some related to U.S. President Donald Trump, who pardoned her parents in 2025. It seems the experience actually turned out to be mostly fruitful for Chrisley as well. During an interview on the show’s official podcast, she admitted that she thought Goldberg and Behar would be a “pain in [her] ass,” though she admitted to having had a good time chatting with Behar behind the scenes.

Whether Savannah will ever be tapped to co-host again at some point is unclear right now. Based on the sentiments she’s shared, though, it doesn’t seem like she’s opposed to it and, if she does, it appears likely she’ll have Todd and Julie’s support in the endeavor.

Anybody who’s ever watched Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar and the rest of the co-hosts on The View knows that they’re not afraid to speak their minds, even if what they say ruffles the feathers of the women sitting alongside them. Savannah Chrisley was all too aware of this — as well as the “public bashing” her parents had received from the co-hosts — when she appeared as a guest host last week. Now, she’s opening up about how things actually went down.

With Alyssa Farah Griffin on maternity leave, The View is bringing in several guest hosts, including Savannah Chrisley, who starred with her family on reality series like Chrisley Knows Best. Her parents, Todd and Julie, spent time in federal prison for tax evasion and bank fraud before receiving presidential pardons from President Trump last May — a move criticized by the co-hosts at the time. Following her appearance on the show, Savannah said on the Behind the Table podcast that she’d been ready for a fight, telling The View’s executive producer Brian Teta:

While The View is bringing back some “controversial” guest hosts like Elisabeth Hasselbeck in Alyssa Farah Griffin’s absence, the co-hosts have something of a “toxic mean girl reputation” for how they treat those whose political views don’t align with theirs. In fact, it’s shocking how seldomly The View even invites conservative guests onto the show.

However, Savannah Chrisley said her experience made her realize she shouldn’t judge these women based on 37-minute episodes or the 15-second clips taken out of context and put out on social media. In fact, she ended up getting along quite well with Joy Behar, as she said:

This sounds a lot like how Whoopi Goldberg wakes up so incensed every day, letting all of her opinions out on the show and then shutting it down until tomorrow.

Savannah Chrisley admitted she was nervous at the prospect of being the only conservative at the table alongside Whoopi Goldberg and Joy Behar, but it was actually Sunny Hostin who challenged her the most about her parents’ pardons. Chrisley said they “didn’t have words,” exactly, but there was “a little hostility” from the former federal prosecutor during a commercial break.

However, the next day Savannah Chrisley said Sunny Hostin admitted she hadn’t understood some things about Todd and Julie’s case, and Savannah apologized for getting defensive.

In the end, the Growing Up Chrisley star was proud of the fact that she and the View co-hosts were able to have conversations with each other and find common ground, despite their opposing political views.

Several guest hosts will step in for Alyssa Farah Griffin on The View when she goes on maternity leave next week, and I have to admit I was a little surprised to see Savannah Chrisley’s name among them. The View hasn’t exactly been complimentary of her parents Todd and Julie, who spent time in prison for tax evasion before being pardoned by Donald Trump. To that end, Savannah has issued a warning to her fellow panelists that she hasn’t forgotten what they said.

Savannah Chrisley’s Warning To The View Co-Hosts

Savannah Chrisley, who came to fame with her family on the reality show Chrisley Knows Best, shared that she’ll be the first guest co-host joining Whoopi Goldberg and the others next week on The View, which airs weekdays on the 2026 TV schedule. As a vocal Trump supporter, Chrisley expects to face opposing political opinions, and she wrote on X that she welcomes the debates to come, writing:

However, given what some of the co-hosts have said about her parents amid their legal issues, they might want to be prepared to defend their statements to Savannah’s face, as she continued:

Savannah Chrisley has staunchly supported her parents since the conviction in 2022, blaming the government for their legal woes and saying the justice system failed them. While supporting Trump at the 2024 Republican National Convention, she said Todd and Julie Chrisley were “persecuted” by the justice system, and it seems some of The View co-hosts weren’t impressed when the Chrisleys’ White House connections led to the presidential pardons.

What The View Hosts Have Said About The Chrisleys

On The View’s May 28, 2025, episode, Joy Behar expressed disappointment in the president seemingly letting Todd Chrisley and his wife “off the hook” — according to Behar — because of his fame and wealth. She said:

Ana Navarro chimed in as well, after Whoopi Goldberg wondered if Americans are numb to this kind of thing, or if people were going to have a problem with it. Navarro said:

Savannah Chrisley has fought against accusations that she bought her parents’ pardon (or that she “slept with someone” for it), so I’d guess that’s something that’s likely to come up during Chrisley’s guest spot.

Todd and Julie Chrisley’s pardon wasn't the only thing that got The View talking about the reality TV family, though. Back in 2022, Joy Behar referred to the Chrisley Knows Best stars as “idiots” during a rant about Trump, saying (per Decider):

It will be interesting to see how Savannah Chrisley’s time on The View goes, especially given the shocking discrepancy between liberal and conservative voices on the show and how right-leaning celebrities like Cheryl Hines have had upsetting experiences. The Masked Singer Season 14 is currently on Fox and streaming for those with a Hulu subscription and it recently featured some reality television royalty. Todd and Julie Chrisley were the second contestants voted off the series, and while their time on the 2026 TV schedule didn't last long, it could've never happened at all.

I was surprised when I talked to The Chrisleys that they went on The Masked Singer just months after being released from prison, and apparently, so was Todd. The Chrisleys: Back To Reality star admitted that he thought he was done with television after his prison sentence, but daughter Savannah kept telling him to get back out there:

As wild as it may be to hear, the Chrisley Knows Best star wasn't dying to get back on television after receiving a pardon from President Donald Trump. Savannah, who has been holding down the fort for her parents since they were incarcerated, kept pushing, which makes sense considering she also did The Masked Singer. Todd and Julie did better than their daughter, who had a one-and-done performance back in Season 11.

Todd Chrisley was swayed to at least consider a television return at Savannah's assistance, but she was the only person he had to consider. The appearance was a package deal, and he needed his non-singing wife to get on board for it to happen. Fortunately, he didn't have to make the first move, because she called him:

The rest, as they say, is history. The couple did The Masked Singer dressed as croissants, and even referenced their time in prison. CinemaBlend also asked the couple about that, who said they're not running from their past as they continue forward in their reality television careers.

One thing worth mentioning is that Todd Chrisley does have some music experience, having recorded a song with artist Sara Evans back in 2016. The song wasn't a massive hit, but it did chart on Billboard's country music charts, which is more than most other celebrities on The Masked Singer can say.

Unfortunately, that music experience didn't lead to a long run on the show, though I'm sure the Chrisleys were happy to get their pay and move on to other projects they have planned for their big television return. While Todd was iffy about coming back to television before this appearance, it sounds as though they're working on quite a few things that could get them another show pretty soon.

Todd and Julie Chrisley are out of prison after being pardoned, and slowly but surely, making their way back to reality television. After the first season of their Lifetime series, they're back with another appearance on the 2026 TV schedule as The Croissants on The Masked Singer. The show didn't hold back at poking fun at their prison time during their short run on the program, but the Chrisleys told CinemaBlend that it was absolutely fine.

Though their stint only lasted until the start of the second episode, they outlasted their daughter, Savannah, who had a disastrous run in Season 11. While I was sure they were glad to get some bragging rights over their child, I asked the couple if they were okay with the myriad of references to their prison time, and Todd Chrisley said it best with his response:

The Chrisleys aren't going to be able to avoid the world finding out about their past convictions, and they're not trying to hide it. I do agree with Todd Chrisley that if they did The Masked Singer and there was zero mention of their pardon or past charges, it would be the thing everyone is talking about the next day.

Since there's no hiding for it, the Chrisleys are hoping their appearance on The Masked Singer and other shows going forward can help send a message to the hundreds of thousands in federal prisons that life after lockup doesn't have to be a grim experience:

In addition to trying to serve as ambassadors for those seeking a fresh start after prison, The Chrisleys are in the midst of rebuilding their lives at home and dealing with issues involving their children. This includes a pretty public rift between Savannah and Chase, as well as recent legal troubles for their son, Kyle.

Meanwhile, the fun on The Masked Singer rolls on, with not one but two wild reveals in Season 14. Tiffany Haddish was the next celebrity to be unmasked that night, marking one of the biggest celebrity appearances the show has seen.

I was surprised to see such notable faces on the series, but it just goes to show that TMS still has a lot to give those still tuning in after all this time. I'm hoping for some more big names to be unmasked by the end of Season 14, and may even have a guess or two at who is on the way.

Since then, the Chrisleys have not only been seeking to move on but also address rumors regarding the circumstances of their releases. On that note, Todd recently took it upon himself to provide clarity on one key aspect of his and his wife’s pardons.

The Chrisleys were among several people to be pardoned by President Trump, whom they’ve publicly shown appreciation towards for the clemency. As of late, much has been said about the validity of an autopen being used by presidents to pardon individuals. While Trump himself has seemed indignant about the validity of documents signed with that instrument, there have still been questions about how they’ve been used. Todd Chrisley is aware of that chatter, and he shared his take as it pertained to his own situation:

Around this time in 2023, Todd Chrisley was about to report to Federal Prison Camp in Florida to serve 12 years in prison. Meanwhile, Julie was set to serve seven years at Lexington Medical Center in Kentucky. The Chrisleys’ pardon bid was spearheaded by their daughter, Savannah, who advocated for their release during their stints behind bars. After her parents were pardoned, Savannah also shot down rumors that it all came together because she performed sexual favors with someone.

Since being released from prison, Todd and Julie Chrisley have sought to become prison reform advocates, with Presidential “Pardon Czar” Alice Marie Johnson suggesting they tread carefully. The pair have seemingly been progressing on the front accordingly, with Todd providing support to a recently released inmate back in September. Also, Julie and Todd have been helping fellow reality TV star Steve McBee Sr. (of McBee Dynasty: Real American Cowboys fame) as he faces charges for finance-related offenses.

The Chrisleys are also planning to jump back into the TV business following their appearances on their family’s Lifetime docuseries, Back to Reality. Julie Chrisley will be filming a cooking show and, allegedly, Todd is still looking to land a deal for a new flagship show for the family. All the while, the couple still have their podcast, where they can continue to air their views and address matters related to their imprisonment and subsequent pardoning.

The past several years have seen members of the Chrisley family embroiled in a number of legal situations. In 2022, Todd and Julie Chrisley were found guilty of financial bases offenses and served years in prison, before being pardoned earlier this year. Also, the couple’s son, Chase, was arrested following a situation that allegedly saw him slap someone in a bar. Todd’s oldest son, Kyle, has also had run-ins with the law for a few years now, and he was just arrested for assault, public intoxication and more.

Kyle Chrisley Gets Arrested Again And Is Charged With Several Offenses

Kyle Chrisley was taken into custody in Tennessee during the evening of Saturday, December 20, according to TMZ. After the Rutherford County Sheriff's Office arrested 34-year-old Chrisley, he was booked at Rutherford County Adult Detention Center that same night. Chrisley was apparently picked up by local authorities around 7 p.m. and, as it stands, law enforcement hasn’t shared exact details about what led to the charges. Lawyers for the former reality TV star have not commented on the situation, as of this writing.

What is known is that Chrisley is currently facing a vast array of charges in addition to the aforementioned counts of public intoxication and assault. TMZ reports that the father of two has also been charged with three charges of assaulting a responder, resisting arrest and disorderly conduct. Also, Chrisley is also dealing with three charges pertaining to retaliation for past actions.

How Had Kyle Chrisley Already Been In Trouble With The Law?

Back in 2023, Chrisley was arrested on the grounds of alleged felony assault in Tennessee. It was reported, at the time, that Chrisley was taken into custody after getting into an altercation with his boss at the truck rental company he worked at in Smyrna. During that situation, Chrisley allegedly brandished a “fixed blade” as well and, after the scuffle, his boss apparently had injuries to his head, hand and neck. The employer – Deven Campbell – also alleged that Chrisley made a death threat against him during their confrontation.

Kyle Chrisley, who Todd shares with ex-wife Teresa Terry, was also arrested in September 2024 and, at that point, it was due to alleged aggravated assault. He and his wife, Ashleigh, filed suit against Rutherford county as well as two sheriff’s deputies. According to People, the claim at the center of the lawsuit was that Kyle was “punished for calling for help” and unfairly arrested amid a situation involving “a disgruntled mechanic, angry over a payment dispute.”

Other members of the Chrisley family have also been impacted by Kyle’s personal entanglements. In December 2022, the mother of Kyle’s now-13-year-old daughter, Chloe, launched a custody battle against Todd and Julie. That came after Kylie lost custody of his child in 2016 as a result of his addiction-related issues. At present, Chloe lives with Julie and Todd, who formally adopted her as their daughter. Also, in 2022, Kyle’s ex-wife, Alexus Whilby, accused Todd of pressuring her to lie about his finances while under oath.

As of right now, Kyle Chrisley apparently remains estranged from the majority of his immediate family (and that marks just one recent conflict involving a Chrisley kid). It remains to be seen if Chrisley’s legal representation will speak out about his latest arrest as well as if his relatives – who open up about their personal lives via podcasts – will feel compelled to comment.

Todd and Julie Chrisley have been home from prison for months now, as the reality TV couple was pardoned by President Donald Trump this past May. Said clemency arrived nearly three years after the Chrisleys were found guilty of bank fraud, tax evasion and more. Now that the pair are out, they’re in the position to spend the holidays with their kids and other relatives. With that, Julie and Todd are now opening up about being with their brood for Christmas after spending the past few holiday seasons in penitentiaries.

Said appeal ultimately didn’t go through in time for them to spend the holidays at home, though.

Savannah Chrisley, the oldest of Julie and Todd’s four children, opened up about spending Christmas without her parents back in 2024, saying at the time that she cooked a meal and her siblings and friends were present. Despite that, Savannah said, at the time, amid the absence of her parents, “trying to pretend everything’s the same really is not what’s in the best interest for anybody.” On that note, during her recent interview, Julie agreed with her husband in in about the “blessing” of being with family this year:

Like most families, the Chrisleys also have their share of traditions. Todd emphasized his desire to keep the festivities in line with what they’re used to and revealed one habit he’s definitely not aiming to change:

Julie and Todd are continuing their efforts to advocate for prison reform and show support for former and current inmates. At the same time, the couple are also planning their next reality TV project, for which Todd is allegedly requesting a hefty amount of money from a studio. Before all of that, though, it sounds like the heads of the Chrisley household are just keen on enjoying Christmas with their loved ones.

The reality TV star in question is Steve McBee Sr., a cast member of the Bravo series McBee Dynasty: Real American Cowboys. 52-year-old McBee reportedly pleaded guilty after being embroiled in a scheme involving crop insurance, which apparently involved millions of dollars. According to Fox News Digital, a sentencing hearing was held this past Thursday, November 20, where the TV star was ordered to serve two years in federal prison. He’ll also have to pay the USDA Risk Management Agency $4,022,124 in restitution.

As of this writing, Steve McBee’s team has yet to formally reach out to POTUS for a pardon. McBee himself also specified to Fox News that the process of requesting clemency is “in a very infancy [stage] right now.” He also shared additional comments on how his legal team is aiming to proceed:

President Trump pardoned several notable public figures over the past year, from former New York mayor Rudy Giuliani to rapper NBA YoungBoy. The Chrisley’s pardons were granted in May as a result of a collaboration between their daughter, Savannah, and the “Presidential Pardon Czar,” Alice Marie Johnson. Given Julie and Todd’s experiences with the legal system, McBee was put in touch with them.

How Are The Chrisleys Helping Steve McBee As He Faces Jail Time?

McBee has a producer friend to thank for putting him in touch with Todd and Julie Chrisley (who’ve dealt with their share of legal fees as well). According to the Real American Cowboys star, he hadn’t been acquainted with the Chrisleys prior to his legal issues. However, when they made contact, they all apparently got along famously:

Todd was ordered to serve 12 years at Federal Prison Camp in Florida, while Julie was to spend seven years at the Kentucky-based Lexington Medical Center. They both reported to their penitentiaries in early 2023, where they remained until the pardons were issued this past May.

The Chrisleys have since voiced their intention to become prison reform advocates and, just earlier this year, Todd lent support to a former inmate following his release. Of course, when it comes to pardons, not everyone receives one, with President Trump having even been hesitant to pardon rapper Sean “Diddy” Combs. So it remains to be seen whether Steve McBee Sr. will receive a pardon even with Todd and Julie’s support.

Sean “Diddy” Combs’ prison stint has begun, as the 56-year-old music mogul is now serving time at FCI Fort Dix in New Jersey. In the time since Combs was transferred from the Metropolitan Detention Center, reports have surfaced and include alleged details about his exploits behind bars. Combs is now reportedly keeping busy in a myriad of ways and, most recently, it’s been reported that he’s been assigned a new job in the penitentiary. And, ironically, because of this, Diddy now has something in common with Todd Chrisley.

What New Job Is Diddy Now Holding Down In Prison?

Earlier this month, it was reported that Diddy was tasked with laundry duty at Fort Dix, which was said to be a relatively standard responsibility entrusted to inmates. It would seem the “Bad Boy for Life” rapper is now putting his skills to use in the prison’s chapel. Diddy’s publicist, Juda Engelmayer, spoke to CBS News and revealed that the music maven is now working as a chaplain’s assistant. Engelmayer shared comments on how the performer is feeling about his new position:

CBS spoke to an ex-prison commissioner, who shed light on some of the duties that someone in Combs’ position typically performs. While tasks can vary, a chaplain’s assistant will keep the library organized, tidy up the area and oversee record-keeping. It seems there are also other perks to this position, as a veteran corrections officer also says the library is one of the few places in which prisoners can congregate at their leisure. Also, inmates who work there have access to air conditioning and food amid religious services.

By all accounts, a job like this could provide stability for Diddy, who’s been advised by imprisoned record producer Suge Knight to keep his nose clean while in prison. Interestingly, Diddy isn’t the only public figure to have taken on duties in a prison chapel while serving time. That was also the case for reality TV star Todd Chrisley.

How Was Todd Chrisley’s Stint Working In A Prison Chapel?

The now-56-year-old patriarch of the Chrisley family was found guilty of bank fraud, tax evasion and more – alongside his wife, Julie – in 2022, with both reporting to their respective penitentiaries in early 2023. Ultimately, Todd was ordered to serve his seven-year sentence at Federal Prison Camp in Florida. It was reported in 2024 that Todd had begun working in the FPC’s chapel, though it was also reported that he’d been fired from the job. At the time, it was said that Todd was “disappointed and emotionally offended.”

After Todd and Julie Chrisley were pardoned by President Trump this past May, the former provided some clarity regarding his prison-based duty. Todd quipped that he didn’t actually contribute any form of labor to the prison, yet he did reiterate that he worked at the chapel. In fact, Todd even called out a social media user who claimed he didn’t have a chaplain-adjacent job to begin with. The Chrisley Knows Best alum went on to say that person “shouldn’t be lying on God’s helpers.”

In Sean Combs’ case, he’ll have even more to do than just work in the chapel and do other inmates’ laundry. Despite recent rumors that Combs consumed alcohol while in prison, he’s currently taking part in the Residential Drug Abuse Treatment Program (RDAP). That 9-12 month program will assist him with his substance abuse issues and will give him the opportunity to shorten his four-year sentence. How he’ll fare in the program remains to be seen, which is the same that can be said for whether he’ll settle into his chapel role like Todd Chrisley.

There’s been drama within the Chrisley family, and much of it has transpired outside the confines of a reality TV show. One of the latest situations to befall the southern clan involves Todd’s oldest daughter (with ex-wife Teresa Terry), Lindsie, leveling claims of blackmail and more against him. Lindsie – who dropped her original surname in favor of “Landsman” – recently shared her experiences in a three-part podcast. Todd, for his part, is sharing his take on his daughter’s continued comments about him and their family.

Lindsie Landsman’s three-part podcast was posted – partially via patreon – from October 22 to 24. During it, Landsman accused her father of exploiting her years ago and alleged that he blackmailed her using nude photos and sex tape featuring her and Robby Hayes. Landsman also addressed accusations made against her on the 2025 TV schedule release The Chrisleys: Back to Reality. On the show, members of the family accuse her of working with Georgia’s Department of Revenue amid Todd and Julie’s tax-related convictions.

As it turns out, Todd Chrisley and co. had a heads up about the podcast before it was released. In a recent episode of the Chrisley Confessions 2.0 podcast (which is on YouTube), Julie started the discussion by timestamping it, saying that it was being recorded on October 21 before it was released on the 29th. Todd eventually explained that the morning of that recording, they heard from their lawyers that Lindsie and Kail Lowry (the co-host of her podcast) were releasing the interview. From there, Todd quipped:

After making that comment, the Chrisley family patriarch went on to acknowledge the claims of his daughter assisting the feds when they were investigating him and Julie. While Lindsie Landsman apparently defended her dad at one point, it was later reported that she wrote a letter to the FBI and asked for a restraining order from Todd. On the topic of the legal proceedings, Chrisley did not hold back:

During his discussion, Chrisley also said he didn’t know the exact nature of Lindsie Landsman and Josh Waites’ relationship (professional or otherwise). Nevertheless, he did still seem to be puzzled by his daughter bringing up allegations against him, Julie and their kids:

Lindsie Chrisley reportedly hasn’t spoken to her family for some time now, with half sister Savannah also confirming they don’t talk. In the aftermath of Todd and Julie’s pardon and Back to Reality, both sides of this family seem to be standing firmly in their respective positions. With that, it doesn’t appear that either are intent on finding common ground.

Months ago, the Chrisley family made their return to the small screen by way of their 2025 TV schedule entry, The Chrisleys: Back to Reality. The show – which was ordered to series by Lifetime earlier this year – mostly follows Savannah Chrisley and her younger siblings as they navigate life amid the incarcerations of their parents, Todd and Julie. One sibling who didn’t film for the docuseries was Todd’s oldest daughter, Lindsie, as she’s estranged from her relatives. It seems, however, that Lindsie was dealt blowback when the program aired.

Lindsie Chrisley (now Landman) – Todd’s oldest daughter with ex-wife Teresa Terry – previously starred alongside her family on Chrisley Knows Best, before exiting after Season 5. The family ties truly broke down, though in 2022, at which point it was revealed that Lindsie reportedly wrote a letter to the FBI after her father’s indictment and requested a restraining order against him. While Lindsie defended her dad while on the stand in 2022, she also accused him of exploitation and referred to him as a “monster” in an email.

During an episode of her Southern Tea Podcast, which is part of a three-part podcast crossover, Landman discussed her history with her family and their issues. At the top of the conversation, though, she addressed Back to Reality. Lindsie revealed that earlier this summer, she was in contact with her paternal grandmother, Nanny Faye and that after the first trailer for the show premiered she asked Faye to have Todd reach out to her. Lindsie, who hasn’t watched the show, explained why she isn’t tuning in:

While Lindsie Landman doesn’t actually appear in new footage on Back to Reality, she’s mentioned a few times. Savannah – who hasn’t spoken to Lindsie in some time – claimed in the docuseries that her big sister was fired from Chrisley Knows Best due to her allegedly trying to force their sister, Chloe, out of bed one night to do a social media post. That supposedly led to a heated confrontation between Lindsie and Julie. On the show, Savannah also referenced the supposed letter Lindside wrote to the feds and said they were no longer family.

During the interview on her podcast, which was recorded near the end of September, Landman shared that she received backlash due to the comments made on her family’s new show. Said blowback apparently even seeped into at least one aspect of her everyday life:

As far as the general public knows, Lindsie Landman – who shares 13-year-old son Jackson with ex-husband Will Campbell – is keeping her distance from her relatives. Her name change was apparently part of her effort to do so as well. Whether or not Todd and co. will formally respond to Lindsie on their own Chrisley Confessions podcast remains to be seen.

More immediately, though, there are still two additional installments as part of the podcast crossover. Part 2 drops on the Coffee Convos Podcast on Thursday, October 23 at 10 a.m. ET, while Part 3 has an early release on Kailyn Lowry’s patreon at 10 a.m. ET on Friday, October 24.

The Chrisley family has been synonymous with reality TV for years now, and they continue to be linked to it. Julie, Todd and their southern brood rose to prominence via USA Network’s Chrisley Knows Best, which provided an intimate look at their domestic lives. Those familial dynamics have been explored on an even deeper level in the clan’s latest show, Back to Reality. Todd has been relatively open to various facets of his and his family’s lives being explored on air, but there’s one thing he’d would’ve preferred to be left out.

Amid the 2025 TV schedule, The Chrisleys: Back to Reality (which was ordered by Lifetime) following Savannah Chrisley and her siblings as parents Todd and Julie remained in prison for tax fraud and more. Savannah and brother Chase’s sibling conflicts took center stage, but another set of family-related issues were highlighted, too. Amid the show, Savannah made brutally honest comments about the state of her relationship with her paternal grandfather, Harvey Hughes.

During an episode of the Chrisley Confessions 2.0 podcast (as seen on YouTube), Todd and Julie spoke about the drama involving the latter’s father. Todd then admitted that he was “not in favor” of that aspect of the family’s personal life being tackled with Savannah. With that, the father of six explained his rationale for his viewpoint while talking to Julie:

The issues between Savannah Chrisley and Harvey Hughes on the show, in great part, had to do with their feelings towards Chase. Savannah argued that Harvey had always favored her brother, who was dealing with alcohol addiction while the show was being filmed. Harvey also admitted to not being “fair” towards Savannah and had in many ways used Chase as a means to fill a “void” following the death of his own son, Trey. At one point, Harvey also critiqued Savannah’s handling of her parents’ legal situation, leading her to mouth, “I hate him.” Still, Harvey expressed his desire to patch things up with his granddaughter, and they shared a moment in which they both expressed love for each other.

While Todd Chrisley didn’t agree with all of the previously mentioned drama playing out on the small screen, he did express empathy for his daughter. He went on to share the following take on her personal experiences:

Julie and Todd Chrisley apparently didn’t have a massive amount of creative say on Back to Reality, given that they were still in prison. During filming, though, the couple was pardoned by POTUS and ultimately took part in the final few episodes of the docuseries.

As of this writing, Savannah Chrisley has yet to weigh in on her father’s reaction to her on-screen drama with her grandfather. Considering this particular disagreement regarding content for a show, I’m curious as to how this might inform the way the Chrisleys handle future TV projects. Since they were pardoned by U.S. President Donald Trump, Todd and Julie Chrisley have been seeking to settle back into their day-to-day lives. They’ve also been adamant, however, about wanting to become true advocates for prison reform. While “Pardon Czar” Alice Marie Johnson advised they should take their time in doing so, but they’ve already taken such steps. One of the most recent ways in which Todd did just that was by showing support for a former inmate who was recently released from prison earlier than expected.

How Did Todd Chrisley Show His Support?

Melvin Williams – an ex-New Orleans police officer – was released years after being convicted in connection to a man’s death. Per Fox 8, in 2005, a handyman named Raymond Robair was beaten by Williams, who was reportedly wielding a metal baton at the time. Robair subsequently had fractured ribs, internal bleeding and a ruptured spleen and was pronounced dead at Charity Hospital. At the time, Williams and fellow officer Matthew Dean Moore also apparently claimed at the hospital that Robair suffered a drug overdose.

Both Williams and Moore were convicted in 2011 for the civil rights violation leading to Robair’s death as well as their claim about the overdose. Williams received a prison sentence that was just under 22 years, and he was released from federal prison this September. Upon Williams’ release, Todd Chrisley picked him up and shared a meal with him. Chrisley, who referred to Williams as a “friend” in his Instagram post, expressed joy over his release and shared some photos featuring him and the former officer:

In his post, Todd Chrisley mentions that he’s of the belief that Melvin Williams’ early release can be attributed to the First Step Act, which was signed into law in 2018. The purpose of this bipartisan law was to help spearhead prison reform by reducing recidivism (the likelihood of an inmate reoffending) through programs. Joe Raspanti, a legal analyst for Fox 8, explains that the act allows the government “a little wiggle room” to provide some leniency to certain inmates for a number of reasons.

Todd Chrisley seems quite pleased with how everything turned out in this particular case. It also marks just another instance in which he’s taken steps to advocate for those behind bars.

What Was Todd Chrisley’s Prison Experience Like And What’s He Been Doing Since His Release?

In 2022, Julie and Todd Chrisley were found guilty of bank fraud, tax evasion and other offenses and sentenced to years in prison. Todd was ordered to serve 12 years at Federal Prison Camp in Pensacola, Florida and, after he reported in early 2023, insiders dropped rumors about how he was holding up behind bars. During an interview in December 2023, Todd claimed the food was subpar and that he’d been photographed while in his cell. While Todd has since facets of the experience weren’t positive, he has noted bright spots, including the bonds he forged with other men, and those represented a kind of camaraderie he “never” had.

Months after Todd was released, he returned to FPC to deliver a speech at the final graduation ceremony for the residential drug abuse program, per Pensacola News Journal. The Chrisley patriarch has also used social media to advocate for prison reform and, just recently, he sat down with Federal Bureau of Prisons director Billy Marshall for a discussion on Chrisley Confessions 2.0.

So, all in all, it seems Todd Chrisley is continuing to stay involved in matters related to prison reform, and time will tell how he continues to do so. At present, though, it would appear that with Chrisley by his side, Melvin Williams now has a major supporter in his corner.

The Chrisleys were recently guests on Tamron Hall, and they discussed a wide range of topics with the talk show’s eponymous host. At one point during the conversation, Hall mentioned that Julie’s family was initially not thrilled with the notion of her marrying Todd, who was a divorcee with kids of his own. Hall then proceeded to ask Julie if any relatives reached out to say they “failed” her. Aside from the family’s TV work, Todd is also a real estate entrepreneur with a major portfolio. Both he and Julie became wrapped up in money controversies that also included their accountant at that time, Peter Tarantino. While Julie didn’t blame Todd for what happened, he did tell Hall he did feel moments of guilt from a familial standpoint as opposed to a judicial one:

Eventually, the subject of money came into the discussion, and the couple didn’t get too specific about how much they have. Amid the chat, which is on YouTube, Hall mentioned that she’d heard they’d paid around $300,000 in lawyer fees. Yet Todd revealed an even bigger number:

Todd Chrisley doubled down on that assertion, and he and his wife also reiterated that they’re not currently “broke.” What prompted those comments was Tamron Hall asking whether their family’s new show, The Chrisleys: Back to Reality, was a “necessity,” which the couple denied.

Julie (52) and Todd Chrisley (56) were found guilty of bank fraud, tax evasion and more in 2022 and, as part of that a judge reportedly ordered that they pay restitution to the banks they reportedly defrauded. At the time, it was stipulated that the couple would be required to pay $17.2 million for that compensation. It was said that the Chrisleys would have to sell off assets to satisfy the debt. However, the pair also told Tamron Hall they never paid that money because the court order was put on hold during their appeals.

The relationships that the heads of the Chrisley household have with money as well as fame have been brought up as they’ve promoted Back to Reality. Both of them have indicated that celebrity isn’t important to them and that money isn’t either, especially following their time in prison. Todd also recently revealed that even before his legal issues began, he was already planning to leave Chrisley Knows Best, the clan’s USA Network show, before it was canceled upon his conviction.

Despite that, Todd Chrisley does want to return to TV full-time alongside his family, and he’s teased his plans to do that. Sources have alleged that Chrisley is seeking a pricey deal for the theoretical show and, to the general public’s knowledge, he hasn’t had any takers just yet. The real estate mogul and his family do, however, remain valuable commodities, so to speak, within the reality TV business, so it wouldn’t be far-fetched for an entertainment company to ink an agreement with them.

As far as viewers can tell, the Chrisleys still appear to be in stable financial standing, despite the speculation that’s swirled around them. Still, it goes without saying that $3 million is no small chunk of change, and I’d imagine there are few people who’d be pleased to part with so much cash.

The Chrisleys: Back to Reality is the latest show to follow the exploits of Julie and Todd Chrisley’s southern clan, though this production is a bit different than their USA Network series. Ordered by Lifetime earlier this year, this new docuseries greatly centers around the aforementioned couple’s kids, as they grapple with their parents’ prison convictions. Todd and Julie have since been pardoned and even appear on the show. Now, the two parents are sharing their thoughts about what’s played out on the show.

Ahead of Back to Reality’s premiere on the 2025 TV schedule, the eight-part series was described as a rawer look at the Chrisleys. That certainly proved to be the case, given how the producers chronicled the ups and downs faced by Julie and Todd’s kids. On a new episode of Chrisley Confessions, the two parents broke their silence on the show, with Julie admitting to having mixed feelings about it. What’s apparently been hard for her is seeing her children at odds without her or her husband being present:

The biggest piece of drama that unfolds during The Chrisleys: Back to Reality is the rift between siblings Savannah and Chase Chrisley. During the show’s confessionals, Savannah accused her brother of not being helpful amid their parents’ absences. Chase, however, argued that his sister only wanted his help when it best suited her, as he believed she ultimately wanted to have the pleasure of saying she handled her broods’ affairs on her own.

When discussing the dynamics amongst their kids on the show, Todd Chrisley said he didn’t find the drama to be so “unfortunate,” an assertion that left Julie taken aback. Todd then proceeded to lay out his rationale:

As of this writing, Chase and Savannah haven’t formally reconciled, and Todd previously said he wouldn’t intervene as he didn’t feel it was his “job” to do so. That aside, Chase – who shared a cryptic Yellowstone-centric post amid the Back to Reality premiere – was revealed to have entered rehab for alcohol addiction by the time the finale was filmed. The family’s situation may be different now, but the issues that Todd and Julie (and various viewers) watched play out on screen remain in the public consciousness.

Whether it be on (the since-canceled) Chrisley Knows Best or during interviews, 56-year-old Todd Chrisley has consistently expressed how proud he is of his six kids (including granddaughter Chloe, who was legally adopted). The real estate tycoon has also addressed what makes each of his children different from each other, and he touched on that while appearing with Julie and Savannah on Nightline. Todd was specifically asked how he contends with a sibling squabble like Savannah and Chase’s, and he said this:

Savannah Chrisley then injected, saying that her dad “is on Chase’s bandwagon right now” and that her younger brother, Grayson, agrees with that. Todd then added that he “doesn’t really care what they say.” Talk then turned back to the issues between Chase and Savannah, with interviewer Juju Chang noting that Todd wouldn’t “referee” the situation. As for his logic for staying out the way, the patriarch says it’s not his place:

The tension between Savannah and Chase Chrisley is evident across the early portion of the family’s new show, The Chrisleys: Back to Reality. During the docuseries, Savannah accuses Chase of not being helpful amid their parents’ incarcerations. While Chase hasn’t formally discussed his feud with his sister, he did share a cryptic post involving Yellowstone after the new show’s premiere.

It remains to be seen just how much more of the feud is going to play out on Back to Reality. At this point, neither Chase nor Savannah Chrisley seem open to a reconciliation, so there’s no way of telling whether they’ll patch everything up. What seems clear, though, is that Todd is set in his position that he’ll only be a parent and not a mediator.

With that, Chrisley went on to explain why he apparently became somewhat disillusioned with production:

Chrisley’s lawyer, Jay Surgent, claimed to TMZ that said decal was ripped off the chair by a prison guard. Chrisley allegedly remained silent during the situation so as not to spark any further of retaliation. The ex-USA Network star attributes this situation up to his belief that the guards are biased against him due to his support of Trump.

The 55-year-old real estate investor, who also said fellow inmates have stickers on their chairs, made further accusations against the staff at the Federal Prison Camp in Pensacola, Florida. He alleged he’s been “shaken down” in various ways, with guards reportedly throwing his books on the ground, searching his clothes and flipping his mattress over. Supposedly, a prison staffer also poured a soft drink on his bed, and Jay Surgent claims these purported acts are due to bad publicity his client has brought to the prison.

Since the father of five began his (since-reduced) 12-year sentence, he and his family members have made claims about the facility he’s in. When he broke his silence from prison, he alleged that he didn’t have access to quality food and that people were photographing him while he slept. His 27-year-old daughter, Savannah Chrisley, also claimed he had no access to air conditioning, in addition to saying the same for her mother, Julie, at Lexington Medical Center. The Federal Bureau of Prisons responded by noting its accreditations.

What’s Going On When It Comes To Pardons For The Chrisleys?

Amid his legal setbacks, Todd Chrisley is still hopeful that President Trump will pardon him as well as his wife, who’s serving a seven-year sentence. Jay Surgent spoke on that notion when he reached out to TMZ. When explaining while Chrisley feels optimistic, Surgent shared the following remarks:

In addition to the head of the family, Savannah Chrisley has expressed her support for the president. Last year, the social media influencer spoke at the Republican National Convention, where she not only praised Donald Trump but also criticized those she deemed responsible for her parents’ imprisonment. Those sentiments lined up with past comments she’d made, specifically her take on the legal system and government being to blame for Todd and Julie’s guilty verdict.

As of this writing, it’s unclear whether President Trump – who was sworn in for his second term in office in January – will initiate pardons for the Chrisleys. It still sounds like, though, that Todd is standing by the belief that it could happen. All the while, FPC is set to be closed down. Time will tell if that unwavering support might cause any other MAGA-related incidents for him while he’s behind bars.

Todd and Julie Chrisley, the parents from the former USA Network show Chrisley Knows Best, recently spent their second Christmas behind bars as they continue to serve time for bank fraud and tax evasion. Just a couple of weeks into the new year, another member of the reality TV family was in jail as well, after their son Chase Chrisley was accused of allegedly slapping a bar manager and hitting him with a chair.

Chase Chrisley was arrested on Thursday, January 9, TMZ reports, for an incident earlier in the week at a Twin Peaks bar in Georgia. He was booked into Fulton County Jail on the misdemeanor charge of simple battery, where he reportedly took a mug shot and was released on $10,000 bond.

On January 6, a 911 call came in from Twin Peaks manager Brendon Nash, who — according to audio obtained by TMZ — reported that a drunk and aggressive suspect had assaulted him with a chair. Nash can reportedly be heard telling someone not to touch him, and then the manager said the patron in question — presumably Chase Chrisley — had just slapped him, which TMZ said was audible on the recording. Chrisley then left the bar and was arrested days later.

The Chrisley family has been pretty open about how much they’ve struggled without their parents around. Savannah Chrisley has been particularly outspoken on her podcast Unlocked about how she’s been affected, so it can’t be easy to now have a third family member with legal issues. I also can’t help but wonder how Todd and Julie feel, assuming they know by now that this happened and that there’s little they can do to help their son.

Chase Chrisley is the oldest of Todd Chrisley’s children with Julie (he shares two older children, Lindsie and Kyle, with ex-wife Teresa Terry). Chase, 28, appeared on Chrisley Knows Best, which aired from 2014 to 2023, when it was canceled amid Todd and Julie’s legal issues. He also starred alongside his younger sister Savannah, 27, in the spinoff Growing Up Chrisley, which premiered in 2019 and ran for four seasons before being canceled alongside the flagship show. In 2023 it was reported that there was another show in the works for the Chrisley siblings, which Chase said would address how they’re getting through day-to-day without their parents and also be able to give updates on Todd and Julie’s situations, as well as other members of their family. However, after Savannah Chrisley was revealed to be the Afghan Hound on The Masked Singer in March 2024, she said things were up in the air with that.

Chase Chrisley opened up about how his parents’ guilty verdict had affected him back in 2022 on Savannah’s podcast, and while he said they were going through a “terrible, terrible situation,” it made him have a bigger appreciation for things. He said:

I’m sure that getting arrested after an alleged bar fight was not in that 10-year plan, but it seems that Chase — and likely more of the Chrisleys — may still be struggling with everything his family has been through over the past couple of years.

It was during that part of the chat that Savannah revealed how dad’s lack of openness to meet her beau, and Shiver, for his part, shared a reasonable take:

The former Auburn player made headlines in July 2023 after it was reported that he’d become the subject of a murder-for-hire plot initiated by Lindsay and her purported boyfriend, Terrence Bethel. During the podcast, which was shared to YouTube, Chrisley addressed her boyfriend’s “baggage” while addressing her dad’s feelings:

While Todd Chrisley may be hesitant to accept a visit from his daughter’s boyfriend, Julie Chrisley has apparently been the exact opposite. Robert Shiver has indeed met the matriarch, who he calls an “incredible human being.” He apparently met Mrs. Chrisley once while visiting her at Lexington Medical Center alongside Savannah, her brother, Grayson, and niece, Chloe. Shiver shared some warm sentiments about his approach to the meeting:

Many families who celebrate Christmas are enjoying fire, cocoa, cookies, carols, and myriad other family activities today, but for those families dealing with absent family members, there’s also a bit of a somber tone. That’s been true for the Chrisley family, as dad Todd and mom Julie were incarcerated just at the beginning of the year in 2023. They had one last holiday with daughter Savannah, Nanny Faye and the rest of the family before surrendering to prison. Which means this holiday is their second behind bars. And Savannah Chrisley is tired of pretending everything is hunky dory while her family is apart.

In fact, she said as much in a memorable conversation with her Nanny Faye during a recent episode of her podcast ‘Unlocked.’ Savannah’s been taking charge of her brother Grayson and sister Chloe (whom Todd and Julie adopted several years ago) while her parents serve their prison sentences. After a whirlwind year in which Julie tried to appeal her amount of prison time, she said trying to pretend the holidays were normal last year was a lesson learned.

Now Christmas is here again, and she and the kids booked a trip out of the country in order to try and make new memories. It’s seemingly a solid strategy as the Chrisley family adjusts the new normal with the glue of the family behind bars.

Savannah has been very candid about the changes to her life during the Chrisley's respective court cases, and she's straight up blamed the government for the Chrisley Knows Best stars' legal troubles in the past. She said here she is still struggling waiting for her “good karma” to kick in and she also told her Nanny Faye she firmly believes “it will make sense in the end.”

And Nanny Faye herself is bullish the Chrisleys will be out of prison in time for the holidays next year so they can all be together, though she plans to spend Christmas with her other son, Savannah’s Uncle Randy.

The Chrisley lawyers have remained optimistic about appeals. Regardless, after her latest bid, Julie Chrisley was recently resentenced to 84 months in prison, which was her original sentence of 7 years if she serves the time in full. She recently asked for a resentencing hoping for reduced time, and didn't get it, though Nanny Faye still seems bullish about the future.

Meanwhile, Todd Chrisley was initially sentenced to 12 years for his part in the bank fraud and tax evasion scheme that landed them in hot water. His prison release date, however, seems to have been reduced by a bit to a little over 10 years. Todd recently experienced a prison setback when he lost his job at the prison's chapel. In the past, both Julie and Todd Chrisley have argued that the legal system has sought to make examples of them because they’re celebrities.

Jay Surgent revealed that an appeal would be filed, and that particular legal move from Julie Chrisley was set in motion in October. At the time, it was reported that the filing was brief and simply laid out the legal team’s arguments for an appeal. Those legal documents were reportedly filed with the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals.

When it comes to Todd Chrisley’s feelings on his wife’s resentencing, his previously mentioned lawyer said that he was "disappointed" and “dissatisfied” by how the hearing panned out. Not only that, but he alleged that Todd was also “concerned about Julie’s health and welfare.” As for Todd’s well-being, he’s serving 10 years (reduced from 12) at Pensacola, Florida’s Federal Prison Camp, which is closing down. Meanwhile, Julie has been serving her sentence at Federal Medical Center in Lexington, Kentucky.

As of this writing, there’s been no formal reaction to Julie Chrisley’s recent comments about the judge presiding over her sentencing. Time will tell how this situation will progress and whether Chrisley’s appeal will work in her favor.

In fact, Savannah claimed just last year that her parents were facing retaliation behind bars for how she's spoken out, including Todd being denied access to non-recorded phone calls with his lawyer and Julie enduring "terrible" living conditions.

Perhaps it's not a surprise, then, that Savannah Chrisley went on to specifically call out Colette Peters, the Bureau of Prisons director. She said:

Again, Savannah Chrisley didn't name names when she cited "a few senators" she's working with or detail "all the evidence" she allegedly has, but she didn't mince words about Colette Peters. Additionally, back in November, she posted about a letter "filled with nothing but facts-exposing the corruption within the Bureau of Prisons." The location tagged in the Instagram post was Mar-a-Lago, the resort owned by Donald Trump.

In her recent comments about FPC Pensacola being shut down, Savannah went on:

Per the Associated Press report about FPC Pensacola and other prisons shutting down, the facility that has been housing Todd Chrisley will be demolished due to "significant disrepair" once the approximately 500 prisoners and 100 staff members are relocated to different facilities. At the time of writing, it's not known if Todd's sentence will be affected by the closure and relocation.

Todd Chrisley's original prison sentence was for twelve years, while Julie received a sentence for seven years back in 2022. Less than a year later, their sentences were reduced with Todd's being cut by approximately two years while Julie's was shortened by 14 months. More recently, back in September, a resentencing hearing restored Julie's original total. That development came just months after Savannah Chrisley shared her "goal" to have her mom home by Thanksgiving.

As for Savannah missing her father, she opened up about Todd having to spend his anniversary with Julie in a separate prison and got real about him being in jail for another Father's Day. For now, those invested in the Chrisley saga can only wait and see what comes next. It seems like a safe bet that Savannah will continue posting about her parents' situation on social media. For the bulk of that time, the ex Chrisley Knows Best star has served as an assistant to the chaplain at the facility. News of Chrisley’s ousting dropped days ago and, while talking to TODAY, Jay Surgent said that the father of five is “disappointed and emotionally offended” over losing the position. The lawyer also said that the job was a “big part” of Chrisley’s life and gave him the “ability to participate in his faith and to help other people with their faith.”

As for why this all happened, Mr. Surgent believes it can be attributed to the Chrisley patriarch “communicating with people that had been admitted into” the Residential Drug Abuse Program at the prison. Apparently, those who are part of the RDAP are allowed “access to the outside.” Still, Surgent said Chrisley “always represented to the administration” how he “was doing an exemplary job in his position,” which reportedly allowed him to connect with many fellow inmates. On those personal bonds, Jay Surgent said:

That was due to a ruling that there wasn’t enough evidence to prove she was aware of the legal-based offenses. Still, upon resentencing, Julie’s original seven-years were reinstated, much to Todd’s alleged disdain.

The couple’s daughter, Savannah Chrisley, has been advocating on their behalf, claiming that they’ve suffered poor living conditions while in prison, including a lack of air conditioning. Via his lawyer, Todd claimed the prison’s food was substandard and not worthy of consumption as well. Savannah even alleged that her mother found snakes in her cell. He said, at the time, that there would be an appeal and that he and Julie’s daughter, Savannah, were remaining hopeful.
