Wednesday Addams has been a beloved character for a very long time, but Jenna Ortega truly made the Addams family member her own in Wednesday. While she's aced her performance and is very committed to the role, sometimes Wednesday is really hard to make, and occasionally a story comes along that's a lot to comprehend. To that point, specifically, there's one scene that she and her co-star Hunter Doohan found "fucking ridiculous."

Ortega has dished about everything from her iconic dance to wanting more horror in Season 2. Typically, she tends to have good points, too. So I’m not surprised to get more BTS stories from her co-stars. For example, Hunter Doohan, who plays Tyler, revealed the fan-favorite Wednesday scene he had with Ortega that the actors thought was 'ridiculous.' Spilling the tea to THR, he said:

I can’t help but wonder if that scene from Season 2, Episode 2 plays into the grueling nature of filming the hit streaming series. In it, Wednesday makes the bold choice to visit her former love interest in Willow Hill Psychiatric Hospital. The two quickly engage in a psychological game of cat-and-mouse, testing each other for information, while Tyler is shirtless and restrained by chains.

Overall, I see why they found it "ridiculous." However, I also understand why this scene involving Tyler chained up is a fan favorite and the subject of many fan edits, as it’s the first time we see the characters interact in Season 2.

Plus, honestly, the two actors’ chemistry seemed to get better after Tyler was revealed to be evil. But if you’re a long-time Addams fan, the dynamic almost feels like a nod to Addams Family Values. Now, anyone who wants to rewatch that scene can do so with a Netflix subscription.

While Doohan was joking about how he and Ortega found that scene "ridiculous," he also made his love for the job clear.

The hit series quickly took off in popularity, though I wasn't shocked given the talent behind the camera. When you combine the Smallville duo of Alfred Gough and Miles Millar with the perfect weirdness of Tim Burton, you're going to get something dark and magical. Considering how big a hit this show is, and how beloved the characters are, it surprises me to learn that the actors still get nervous. For example, Doohan said:

Unlike Doohan, I wasn't worried at all that his character would be killed off. I would assume that when you have an actor THAT good at playing a twisted yet conflicted character, you don't want to get rid of them too quickly. And I am relieved to have confirmation that Tyler will be in Season 3.

Now, I'm ready to see what happens next with our favorite Wednesday characters, especially after all the cliffhangers we were left with at the end of Season 2. While I'd guess most are excited about meeting Aunt Ophelia in Season 3, I'd also love to get even a cameo of Cousin Itt just to see how this show would pull that off. I’d also enjoy getting more tributes to previous Addams Family works. Plus, while Doohan and Ortega found that Season 2 scene a bit wild, clearly it worked, and I'm looking forward to seeing how they play into that relationship next season.

Jenna Ortega has been as busy as ever with the new season of Wednesday, coming soon with a Netflix subscription. In recent years, she’s grown to be quite the rising star, thanks to her role in the hit series as well as the Scream movies. Having grown up in the industry that's not something new to her. But the actress confessed what it’s actually like to work on a show like Wednesday, and it sounds grueling.

Working on Wednesday is no small feat. Ortega has previously opened up about how difficult it’s been to the point where she pulled her hair out. It doesn’t help that the hours are pretty tough. While appearing on the podcast Big Bro with Kid Cudi, Ortega looked back at her career and the hours she’s had to put in over the years, and it does not sound fun:

It sounds like Ortega barely has any time off, and when she does, she spends it preparing for the next work day. Even when she was younger and working on Disney’s Stuck in the Middle, her time was split between work and on-set school, which is a lot to put on a kid. Now that she’s older, she’s being worked even harder. While she certainly seems grateful to be in the position she’s in, it’s clear that it comes with challenges. As the actress continued:

Unfortunately, in this day and age, it’s easy to overwork yourself. Luckily, in Ortega’s case, she still seems to be finding the fun and entertainment in her job. Namely because she is doing what she wants to do. It’s just very intense. So intense that at times, she’s on a strict routine where she doesn’t even have to think about doing something because she’s so used to it. And this might be relatable for fans. In her words:

It’s possible the longer that Ortega does Wednesday, the more she’s gotten used to the grueling hours, but that doesn’t mean it’s not terrible. Between the filming, rehearsing, learning the lines, wardrobe, and learning the dance moves, it can all add up to a lot of work. Hopefully, she’s been able to take some time off for herself, but at the very least, everyone working on the show is in the same boat as her. Maybe not as much because she is the lead, but it’s definitely worth it.

Meanwhile, Wednesday Season 3 was confirmed last year, so Ortega has been hard at work on it. As of now, a premiere date has not been revealed for the upcoming horror TV show, but it is expected to premiere sometime in 2027. Fans can prepare now by watching the first two seasons on Netflix.

For two seasons now, Wednesday has been one of the best shows to binge on Netflix, and with Season 3 on the way (likely next year, rather than on the 2026 TV schedule), it really feels like Jenna Ortega has captured the spirit of the titular Addams Family character — balancing both the creepy and the kooky! So I was a bit surprised to hear the actress talk about the big struggle she still has each season playing Wednesday Addams.

Jenna Ortega is obviously not the first actress to play Morticia and Gomez Addams’ daughter, but the current version of the goth character is a bit older than the portrayals that came before her — allowing Wednesday more autonomy as she navigates the life of a teenager at Nevermore Academy. Ortega told the AP she gave a lot of thought to how to honor the past while still moving the character’s story forward. She said:

That’s a really interesting perspective, and she’s totally right. Kids may say the darndest things, but the same words in the mouth of a teenager aren’t going to be accepted in the same way.

Jenna Ortega seeks to offset that issue by injecting her character with a touch of whimsy. She continued:

We see this a lot through Wednesday’s friendship with Enid (Emma Myers). Their characters definitely didn’t understand each other when they first became roommates, but it’s become more and more obvious over the first two seasons (streaming with a Netflix subscription) how much they care about each other.

Jenna Ortega toed that line a little more in Season 2 with Agnes’ friendship story, as well as in her conflicts with her mother Morticia and other Nevermore students and faculty. The Scream actress admitted that finding the right balance is still a daily struggle, even with 16 episodes under her belt. Ortega said:

I appreciate that the actress puts so much thought and work into finding the right way to portray a teenage Wednesday Addams, and I can’t wait to see how she continues to grow in Wednesday Season 3.

Jenna Ortega may only be 23, but she’s certainly already shaking up red carpets with her unique and gothic (but bordering on metal) sensibility. Think cool and very pricy accessories, unique cuts and fabrics, and a sensibility that lends her to be a bit vintage and cutting edge at the same time. If you can’t tell, I’m obsessed, and she did it again recently at a Wednesday event ahead of this year's Emmy nominations.

Ortega rocked a grey blazer and matching suit pants to the event, and when I type it out, it sounds like a snoozefest. However, it’s the top/necklace/dickie thing she wore underneath that really spices up the look and gives it her signature style. I’m not even sure what to call her top, here, so you should just really check it out for yourself.

We’ve seen the open blazer look before, but never done up like this. In fact, I wasn’t even sure what to call the fabric Ortega is wearing under her cropped blazer. It doesn’t seemingly cover much, so does it count as a top? To me, it’s almost like the dickies my third grade teacher wore under turtlenecks, only way cooler. It could have even counted as a large choker piece, too.

The suit and the under piece were both from Alexander McQueen, which meant I could look up what the designer calls the top. Technically, it seems the item may be called a harness, though we don’t see how it fully sits under the tailoring of Jenna Ortega’s suit. The piece is from the Spring/Summer 2026 collection for Alexander McQueen, but it’s nothing like the leather harnesses we are used to seeing.

The top often seems to be paired with a corset (though perhaps not in Ortega's case), and the ready-made piece retails for a whopping $2,290.

Ortega wasn't the only one dressed to the nines at the red carpet event, which was held ahead of the impending Emmy nominations, which will be announced on July 8th. The event was fittingly at the Hollywood Forever Cemetery in Los Angeles, and co-star Catherine Zeta-Jones also dressed to the nines.

I didn’t expect May to be such an epic month for celebrity fashion, but between Hilary Duff choosing not to wear a bikini on the cover of Sports Illustrated, Zoë Saldaña going for vintage lace and Florence Pugh bringing back the fully sheer look, it’s been a really fun month. If I had to vote for the coolest look, however, this harness/top from Ortega is the one that takes the cake.

Disney+ is working on a live-action Casper series, and while I was excited to read that Hollywood finally found a way to bring the character back in a big way, I fear they've lost the plot. That's on the heels of the reveal that "the friendliest ghost you know" is getting an "edgy" remake.

The report comes from Deadline, which reads that Rob Letterman and Hilary Winston, who were also responsible for the newest Goosebumps series, are reteaming with Disney+ for this new project. The only detail so far is that it's believed to have a "dark edge" to it, and that it looks to replicate the success of Wednesday. I'm sorry, what?

I'm Not Sure Why We Need An "Edgy" Casper Series

The 1995 Casper is already pretty dark, but it walks the line well enough between humor and scares that it's still accessible to kids. That was the right tone for a franchise like Casper, which was always going to struggle eliciting true scares with its cartoony feel.

The reason Wednesday works so well is that The Addams Family already naturally leaned into darker themes from a comedic perspective, highlighting a family obsessed with violence and the macabre.

Casper is about a ghost who, first and foremost, identifes as "Friendly," and has a track record for being terrible at scaring humans. Making him edgy compromises what the franchise is about, and I'd argue his mysterious uncles, The Ghostly Trio, are already edgelord-y enough. I just don't see the vision for how this works, but fortunately, the EPs and writers have plenty of time to convince me to tune in before it'll be ready for streaming via Disney+ subscription.

Casper Is One Of The Few "Spooky" Franchises Accessible To Young Kids, And I'd Prefer It Stays That Way

I hate to pull the "Think of the children!" card, but I have a daughter who loves spooky stuff. She isn't quite ready for the best horror movies of all time, but she certainly enjoys getting into the Halloween spirit and watching creepy fare, as opposed to anything truly horrifying Casper hits those notes, and is indeed one of her favorites.

The only thing we have to go on regarding this Casper series is that Wednesday is allegedly an inspiration. My kid loves Wednesday Addams, and while she recognizes Jenna Ortega's version, she has only seen Christina Ricci's. Wednesday is just a little too mature for the average eight-year-old, and now I fear Casper is headed in the same direction.

When I think of the easy ways to make this franchise edgy, gory deaths and raunchy sex come to mind, even though I imagine this project wouldn't go quite so far with either subject. Still, skewing closer to those topics could alienate younger audiences from watching, and that's not the only risk.

There's also a generation of people who grew up with the '90s movie who will have expectations for what they think Casper should be. (Sound familiar?) I'm sure there will be some who approach it with an open mind, but obviously, I'm all sorts of skeptical and on high alert just from the implication that it'll be edgy. Here's hoping I'm surprised when I finally see a trailer, and it's not quite as wild as I'm imagining it could be.

We'll see what becomes of this Casper project and who may end up attached to it. I'll remain skeptical, but curious to see what this upcoming series could possibly be like.

I’m sure for many of us, when we think of Jenna Ortega, the first project we associate her with is Wednesday, which is a show that has been a massive hit among those with a Netflix subscription. That comes with a lot of perks, I’d assume. However, issues crop up with it, too. Most recently, the actress who plays the titular Addams Family character got real about one of those challenges, as she opened up about playing a teenager when she’s in her twenties.

It’s been a few months since Season 2 of Wednesday was released, and now we’re getting updates here and there about Season 3, as it entered production and added Winona Ryder and Eva Green to the cast. Meanwhile, Ortega is also working on other projects. So, when she appeared on Big Bro with Kid Cudi, she discussed a challenge that comes with taking on new projects while being associated with a teen character:

I totally see what she’s saying here. Wednesday is a teen, and the show takes place at her school. Ortega is 23 years old, she’s an adult, and she’s working to build a career that shows off her range. While Wednesday has given her a larger platform and likely opportunities to take on other parts, it is also a very distinct character that has helped define this part of her life.

However, she's not letting it take over her career. While Wednesday fashion and that emotionless stare are inextricably tied to Jenna Ortega, she’s worked on a slew of other projects that show off her range. That’s what she intended to do, too, as she explained:

If you take a look at what she did between Seasons 1 and 2 of Wednesday, this thought process about how she chooses projects is on full display. Ortega starred in Scream VI and Beetlejuice Beetlejuce, during that time, and she also worked on smaller movies like the crime thriller Finestkind, the drama Miller’s Girl, the horror comedy Death of a Unicorn and The Weekend’s Hurry Up Tomorrow.

Now, as we look at the 2026 movie schedule, she’s slated to star in J.J. Abrams’ new sci-fi flick The Great Beyond alongside Glen Powell.

Overall, I understand and empathize with the challenges that come with playing Wednesday Addams. The character is so big and beloved that it’s easy to see Jenna Ortega as only the teenage student. However, she’s put in the work to make sure she’s more than Wednesday, while staying fully committed to the Netflix series.

Clearly, it’s all a high-wire balancing act she’s doing here. However, I think she’s doing it well. Now, to see what she does next, you can catch The Great Beyond in theaters on November 13.

At this point, Wednesday’s first season may forever go down as the most watched English-language release on Netflix, with a combined viewing time that nearly doubles the number of minutes that Stranger Things’ final season was streamed (to date). But what if TV’s spookiest and kookiest horror-comedy added one of Hawkins’ elite to Season 3? Could Wednesday top its own numbers when the upcoming horror TV show returns?

It’s certainly possible, especially since this casting news sets up a huge Beetlejuice franchise reunion, as Winona Ryder is officially joining her previous on-screen daughter Jenna Ortega for the third season of Addams family hijinks. This obviously also marks a reunion between Ryder and show producer Tim Burton, as well as with showrunners Al Gough and Miles Millar, who penned the script for the second Beetlejuice film. (Ryder also worked with Burton on Edward Scissorhands.)

Though Gough and Millar didn’t offer up any hardcore details about who Ryder will be portraying in the new season, they did pay her quite the compliment when addressing the cast, per Variety. As they put it:

Nothing to argue against in that statement, as Ryder's entire run through the '80s and early '90s falls squarely into the Outcast category. I don't think the Wednesday creative team is aiming to turn that expectation upside -down, either, and I have the perfect idea for who she could play.

Winona Ryder Absolutely Needs To Play Agnes' Mom

Surely, Winona Ryder could be joining Wednesday Season 3 as a completely new character that we don't know anything about, but wouldn't it be cooler if she was playing someone with ties to a familiar? By and large, Evie Templeton's oft-invisible Agnes is my favorite character on the show, and her increasing storyline throughout Season 2 and her growing friendship with Wednesday has me hopeful we'll get even more of her in the third outing.

Which brings us to her parentals, whom we know little about. Her father's name is Seymour, and he split up with her mother at some point years ago. Agnes knows that she went off and married a normal dude and had at least one kid with the guy.

Tell me that Winona Ryder wouldn't be a fantastic choice for this set-up. You can't, because it's perfect. If and when it's revealed that the Heathers vet is playing someone else, I'll be sorely disappointed.

Netflix released a new video to go along with the casting news, revealing even more names in the mix, with a big clue for Winona Ryder's character. Check out the video below.

Ryder's placard notes that her name is Tabitha, and the card has a "B" at the top, though I can't figure out right offhand what it's meant to signify. (The Addams' have "A" on theirs, the Nevermore students and faculty have "N," while the "O" clearly stands for Outcast." So long as the B doesn't stand for "bullcrap on Nick's prediction," I'm still in this.

• Daisy - Kennedy Moyer
• Atticus - Oscar Morgan

They way I figure it, Ryder's Tabitha got together with Noah Taylor's Cyrus, who already had a child from a previous marriage, and they got together and had their own kid. (Not that I can easily buy into Noah Taylor playing a normal character on THIS show, but I guess it's possible.)

To be sure, had Eva Green not already been revealed as the actress playing Morticia's long-lost sister Ophelia, that would have been my go-to choice. But I actually prefer thinking about Ryder as Agnes' mummy dearest.

Thankfully, Wednesday Season 3 is now in production, so we may hopefully get more updates on casting identification in the nearish future. Unless they plan on keeping that role under wraps until the new epsiodes actually arrive.

While Jenna Ortega’s style has always had range, she’s obviously best known for her goth looks. As Wednesday Season 2 came out, she showed off a whole new side of the dark style, too, as she rocked carpets in things like a snakeskin gown and a gorgeous, silky black dress. However, her style has always been much more than only looks Wednesday Addams would approve of, and she proved that recently with a rare red moment that included some fantastic metal elements.

So, Jenna Ortega was at the Marrakech International Film Festival, and for one of its events, she donned a gorgeous red gown. Now, while the Wednesday star has rocked red before, it’s not her go-to color. Therefore, this was a rare fashion moment for her, and I’m obsessed. Take a look:

This lovely dress is a floor-length gown that’s part of Lanvin Summer 2026 by Peter Copping. It features a billowy sleeve on the left side, and to complement that, Ortega wore a gorgeous silver cuff on her right arm, which was not covered by the garment. Then, the outfit gets even better with the silver neckline. It adds a sparkling and stark contrast to the red dress, and I’m so here for it.

However, I think the real star of the show was the Scream actress’s heels. To go with the silver on her neck and arm, Jenna Ortega was also wearing super high and super stunning silver heels. Take a look:

Overall, this look serves as another gorgeous addition to Ortega’s catalog and proves just how diverse her style is.

This year alone, she’s paid homage to Carrie Bradshaw with a newspaper dress, she’s gone punk rock for Wednesday looks, and at the Emmys, she stunned in a top made only of jewels.

Also, her time at the Marrakech International Film Festival has single-handedly proven this point too. She’s been serving as a jury member at the event, and while there, she’s worn everything from a gentle satin gown to an incredible black dress to this one-shoulder red look we’ve been talking about.

Jenna Ortega’s style truly is something else, and every time she is at an event or has a project coming out, I get excited to see what looks she decides to don. Now, looking forward, I cannot wait to see what outfits she wears for Wednesday Season 3 whenever it comes out. Plus, I’m so excited to see how she and her stylist curate looks for projects like Ghost Writer, which is the movie she made with J.J. Abrams and Glen Powell.

In the short term, I bet we’ll get to see Ortega rock the carpet at the Golden Globes, as she’s a 2025 nominee for her work in Wednesday. Along with that, she’s working on a few films that could end up on the 2026 movie schedule. So, get excited, folks, because we’ll get to see more fabulous work from the actress, and that’s sure to come with some fabulous fits too. For now, though, let’s take a moment to really appreciate her latest and rare red fashion moment.

Jenna Ortega has quickly developed into one of the biggest names in celebrity fashion, thanks to next-level examples of method-dressing and looks like her midriff-baring cropped blazer. While nobody can go wrong with classic black, Ortega especially has embraced the fashion sense of her Wednesday character on several occasions, including at a recent film festival. However, she ditched the dark mid-fest and transitioned to the most elegant satin number.

The Beetlejuice Beetlejuice star walked the red carpet on the opening night of the Marrakech International Film Festival in a structured black gown from Svitlana Bevza’s spring 2026 collection that featured a stunning asymmetrical neckline and peplum that dropped into a floor-length skirt, as you can see below:

You don’t see a peplum all that often and, while this fashionista has been known to rock a structured look, this piece gives her a particularly unique shape, especially with the V-cut neckline.

The dress featured a halterneck that left the back completely open — a common theme among many of Jenna Ortega’s power-goth looks — with the bodice sculpted into a peplum for a dramatic silhouette. Her dark red hair was worn parted down the center in tousled waves, and while you can’t see it in the photo above, she reportedly sported black Roker Highbury boots. (I’d always choose boots over stilettos on the red carpet if I were a celebrity. Or just straight-up go with Adam Sandler’s outfit from this year’s Oscars.)

For Night 2 of the Moroccan film festival, which runs from November 28 to December 6, she completely turned the tables. The Wednesday star bid farewell to structure, opting for simple and sleek, and she traded in the darkness for a light-colored, satin number that featured a stunning neckline:

Jenna Ortega’s ivory gown was a masterclass in simplicity done well, with the satin of her bodice sweeping diagonally over her torso to one shoulder, where it connected to a halter collar. A scarf-like panel draped down the opposite side of the dress, again leaving the actress’ back exposed.

A belt of matching ivory satin hung around her waist with a chain and cross providing the smallest embellishment on the ultra-clean look. She again wore her hair down in a center part — though this time it was straightened — and on both nights her glam makeup featured a smoky eye, deeply colored lip and barely there brows.

While Jenna Ortega can rock the Wednesday-coded black as well as anybody — just look at the one-shouldered ballgown she wore to a recent Christian Louboutin event — she’s worked closely with her team, including longtime stylist Enrique Melendez, to ensure that she’s dropping jaws in hues from sheerly remarkable red to lacy lilac with a faux-fur stole to the multi-colored bejeweled top she wore to the Emmy Awards.

I definitely love to see her experimenting with all of the colors of the rainbow, but you also won’t find me complaining when she’s going the goth route either. Keep an eye out for Jenna Ortega in the new year, as she’s got at least one project scheduled on the 2026 movie calendar.

Following Wednesday’s second season run on the 2025 TV schedule, we’ve gotten some very exciting news about the Addams Family spinoff’s third installment. After a season full of mystery and intrigue surrounding Ophelia Frump, Morticia’s sister has officially been cast. She’s being played by a Tim Burton regular, too, which is very exciting and debunks a theory I had about Wednesday’s aunt.

Eva Green Has Been Cast As Aunt Ophelia

It was revealed by Netflix that Aunt Ophelia will be played by Eva Green following Wednesday’s Season 2 cliffhanger ending, which revealed that Ophelia was alive and being kept in Grandmama’s basement. The actress has collaborated with Tim Burton on many occasions as she has had roles in movies like Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children, Dumbo and Dark Shadows. So, she’s a perfect fit for Wednesday’s “mysterious and spooky” ensemble.

So, it would seem that we’ll get to see Green with a platinum blonde look and in Grandmama’s basement when Wednesday returns to Netflix’s streaming schedule. Remember, the season ended with her whereabouts being revealed as she wrote “Wednesday must die” in red on her cell’s wall.

Personally, I can’t wait to see the Casino Royale star back in Tim Burton’s world and in costume as this long-talked-about Wednesday character. However, I can’t help but think about how it debunked my main theory about Ophelia, too.

This Confirmation Debunks A Theory I Had About Who Would Play Aunt Ophelia

Now, while this casting is thrilling, it also debunks a theory that I was hoping to be right about. As Season 2 came out last year, we theorized a few times that Lady Gaga could play Aunt Ophelia. While she appeared in the show as Rosaline Rotwood, it seemed possible that her character’s true identity could be the long-lost aunt of Wednesday Addams.

I mean, Rotwood was introduced to Wednesday by way of Grandmama, and considering the grandmother is also holding Ophelia, this seemed possible. Plus, the singer has the look to pull off the aunt, and considering her tiny role in Season 2, it seemed like something bigger could be set up.

It’s also worth noting that in the 1960s series, The Addams Family, Carolyn Jones played both Morticia and Ophelia. So, it also could have been fun (and within reason) to see Catherine Zeta-Jones trade her long black hair for a platinum blonde wig to play both Frump sisters in Season 3 of Wednesday. Clearly, that little theory has also been debunked.

However, those theories have officially been put to rest, because now we know that Eva Green will play Ophelia Frump when Wednesday returns for its third season.

So, get excited about her return to Tim Burton’s universe, and stream the first two seasons of Wednesday with a Netflix subscription. Meanwhile, we’ll keep you posted as we learn more about this highly anticipated return to the Addams Family “creepy” and “kooky” world.

Wednesday is one of the most popular and binge-worthy TV shows on Netflix, nay, anywhere; so it perhaps makes perfect sense that its co-creators were keen to double down on another female-led horror-leaning story based on an already popular piece of IP. Color me both tickled and excited as hell to learn that Alfred Gough and Miles Millar are once again teaming up with Netflix to adapt one of my favorite genre comics in recent years, centering on a female Grim Reaper.

The Wednesday duo have been tapped to help bring to life the dark, introspective, and often amusing series Grim, co-created by esteemed writer Stephanie Phillips (Harley Quinn, Spider-Gwen: The Ghost Spider) and artist Flaviano (I Am Groot, Power Man and Iron Fist). It's a banger of a story, and the way it's being produced makes it seem like it could potentially be a good fit for Jenna Ortega herself, assuming there's even room in her upcoming schedule.

What Is Grim About?

The rather epic story at the unbeating heart of Grim starts with main character Jessica Harrow's death, or rather her post-death, where she's recruited as a Reaper, with the responsibility of leading the dearly departed from the corporeal plane into the afterlife. However, setting her apart from other Reapers is the fact that she has no idea how she died, and why she was brought into her hellish new position.

To solve the mystery, Jessica teams up with those she trusts the most to try and fill in the gaps in her memory while also facing the threat of a world without death. Her journey is full of fun twists and emotional turns, with music playing a core role in the storytelling, both visually and contextually.

How Is Grim Being Adapted?

Given the comic book's dark and often sinister visuals and settings, which skew heavily on the red and black side, Grim would likely be expensive as a motherfluffer to produce in live-action, so I can understand Netflix's impetus in wanting to spin this upcoming book-to-screen adaptation as an adult-skewing animated series, likely more on par with Castlevania and Blood of Zeus than BoJack Horseman or Haunted Hotel.

To help along with that particular process, Deadline reports that Gough and Millar will be working with the artistically minded Jennifer Yuh Nelson, who co-directed the second and third Kung Fu Panda movies. She's also worked in various capacities (storyboard artist, character designs, etc.) on a slew of other family-friendly animated projects such as The Iron Giant, Monsters vs. Aliens, How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World and more.

What's more notable for this particular project, though, is that Nelson has worked as a Supervising Director on Netflix's highly acclaimed and Emmy-winning animated series Love, Death + Robots. As well, she co-directed several episodes of the HBO series Spawn, which were compiled into the 1998 feature Todd McFarlane's Spawn 2 and ts 1999 sequel. She also worked on Ralph Bakshi's late '90s series Spicy City.

Why Jenna Ortega Would Be A Great Fit

Though I would very likely take issue with the Wednesday star portraying Jessica Harrow in a live-action series, due to age-related issues, I think her taking on the voice of the character would be perfectly fitting, and would give her a dark universe to play around in without having to fall back on Wednesday's signature monotone deliveries.

Working as closely as she has with Alfred Gough and Miles Millar on the Addams Family offshoot, which is potentially getting at least one spinoff, Ortega could likely just talk her way into this role (no pun intended), but it might come down to how available she is. To be expected, being one of the most in-demand young actresses in Hollywood does not make it easy to jump into projects just because that one guy at CinemaBlend really wants her to.

Beyond the impending Season 3 of Wednesday, which she's recently voiced her hopes for, Ortega will soon be seen opposite Glen Powell in J.J. Abrams' Ghostwriter, as well as Taika Waititi's sci-fi drama Klara and the Sun. She's also co-starring with her Wednesday mum Catherine Zeta-Jones in Cathy Yan's thriller The Gallerist, and has been attached for a while to a David O. Russell project, Shutout, that may or may not come to fruition. And those are just the ones we know about.

Regardless of who ends up playing Jessica Harrow in Grim, I'm absolutely going to be watching and obsessing over the Netflix animated series. Just in case I ever find myself pegged to be the next Grim Reaper, it'll be good to have as much research as possible.

When it comes to highly aniticipated upcoming Netflix shows, there's no doubt Stranger Things Season 5 will keep everyone's minds flayed until the 2026 TV schedule kicks off. But when that's all done, fans can start fully looking foward to the Season 3 return of another disaster-thwarting horror-friendly teen: Wednesday Addams. For all that audiences have hopes and dreams about what's to come, star Jenna Ortega has her own narrative-based desires to follow up on Season 2's wild ending.

One of the most binge-worthy shows on Netflix, Wednesday was renewed for Season 3 back in July, with the caveat that viewers. will likely be waiting ages for it to arrive, given how long it takes to put these episodes together. The glass-half-full perspective there is that co-creators Alfred Gough and Miles Millar presumably have enough time and wherewithal to give Jenna Ortega's suggestion a proper amount of consideration, because I fully agree with her take.

Ortega spoke with the good folks at GamesRadar+ and shared her biggest hopes for the new season, saying:

Huzzah! Just over a week before those statements went live, Ortega reunited with her TV parents Catherine Zeta-Jones and Luis Guzmán for a Netflix event, and it further proved how much better life is when the three of these celebs are having fun around each other, which isn't really the case in Wednesday proper, where a distinct imbalance hinders the mother-daughter relationship from blossoming. (Or deblossoming, as it were.)

To Ortega's point, the back half of Season 2 put Morticia and Wednesday on more of the same page, thanks in part to the late Weems re-entering the story. (But not re-interring, amirite?) And hopefully they can build on that shared ground as opposed to finding new ways to spread the rift.

Jenna Ortega also addressed a well-established character point that hasn't come up that much, and I legitimately think Season 2 suffered from it. As she put it:

As much as I thought I would like Wednesday giving Pugsley a bigger storyline in Season 2, the character was far too vulnerable and sensitive to everything involving his zombie pet, as if he was a normal teenage boy and not someone who grew up living in constant danger of his older sister. Other versions of Pugsley would have been just fine getting electrocuted, but not this one. So if that can be blamed on Wednesday not trying to kill him enough, let's right that ship!

As well, I'm all about Wednesday going darker, so long as the writers remember that "dark" doesn't just mean "surly and disagreeable." There are plenty of ways for her to be apathetic to others while still taking pleasure in her own life. But I won't be the person to go up and ask Wednesday to smile more. Never that.

Wednesday Season 3 is in development, with 2027 as a likely window of release. The first two seasons can be streamed in full via Netflix subscription.

Streaming TV’s kookiest and spookiest family returned to audiences earlier in the 2025 TV schedule, and Wednesday’s second season retained the series’ distinction as one of the best shows to binge on Netflix, leaving audiences with mysteries to ponder. It’s no mystery that this Addams-filled series has delivered some high-profile guest stars so far, and Catherine Zeta-Jones namechecked It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia’s Danny DeVito as someone she wants to join the show in a future season.

The Morticia Addams portrayer doesn’t just want DeVito in the mix as a blue-sky hope, but rather with a particular idea in mind that sounds downright perfect. Assuming he’d be interested, that is.

Speaking with Variety on the red carpet for Wednesday’s weekend FYC event, where she reunited with Jenna Ortega and others, the Chicago vet went so far as to question why the Taxi actor hadn’t already been hired for the upcoming horror TV show’s past seasons. As she put it:

That's a sage question that'll no doubt have the world's greatest thinkers rapt for eons, right alongside "Who watches the Watchmen?" "Who wrote the book of love?" and "What, me worry?" Why isn't Danny DeVito in Wednesday, indeed?

When it came to choosing which character he'd be best to play, Catherine Zeta-Jones didn't exactly struggle to come up with an option, and it's a banger. In her words:

Hells yes it would be cool to see Danny DeVito popping up on Wednesday as a giant pile of hair. He's obviously closer to the right height for it than a lot of other actors, and given all of the wacky shit that he's gotten invested in on It's Always Sunny, I don't foresee it being too huge a deal for him to wear a hair-suit from head to toe. Although if it water gets on it, or if DeVito drops a condiment-filled sandwhich inside the suit, that presents a less than perfect scenario. Rule #1 with hair suits should be "Don't get them wet or eat condiment-filled sandwiches in there."

For as pefect as this sounds in many ways, there would definitely be a couple of major setbacks if DeVito played Cousin Itt. For one, we wouldn't get to hear the actor's vocal performance, since the Addams character only speaks in high-pitched noices, somewhat like The Muppet's Beaker. Second, we wouldn't get to see DeVito's physical performing talents in the clearest of ways, given that his head would presumably be blocked from sight.

So if Wednesday's co-creators are interested in keeping Cousin Itt exactly the same as he was in years past, there are probably other actors to bring into it who aren't so iconic as DeVito. On the flip side, if the writers have a way to introduce Cousin Itt without him being completely covered in hair, that could work as well.

While we're at it, if Steve Buscemi's Season 2 headmaster is out, let's bring in Zeta-Jones' hubby Michael Douglas to run things with an iron grip. Or maybe he can play Cousin Itt, and DeVito can run things at Nevermore.

Wednesday Season 2 might have already premiered on the 2025 TV schedule, but that doesn’t mean Netflix has stopped feeding fans content. Over the weekend, Jenna Ortega, who plays Wednesday Addams in Tim Burton’s hit TV adaptation, reunited with her on-screen parents, Catherine Zeta-Jones and Luis Guzmán, for Netflix’s FYSEE: The Fall Edit. Together, the trio created what may have been the most goth red carpet moment of the year.

It seems the Wednesday cast has taken to method dressing, something Ortega has learned well. The three cast members opted to embrace their characters’ knack for all black, with Catherine Zeta-Jones donning a stunning lace dress that I imagine is what Morticia Addams would wear if she were a 2014 tumblr girl. Meanwhile, Luis Guzmán made a play on sad boy chic with a clean look that was brought together with a long black overcoat. Finally, Jenna Ortega channeled her inner Gomez Addams with a fitted two piece pinstripe suit and a black long sleeve under the vest, her cross chain really driving home that gothic look:

To anyone who ever doubted Catherine Zeta-Jones as Morticia Addams, shame on you. This version of the Addams family might be a more unique take but, if this red carpet proves anything, it’s that she is perfectly strikingly beautiful and goth in every way as Morticia.

If I had to pick my favorite look of the three, I’m, of course, choosing the Scream VI actress. She steals the show on every red carpet she walks. Each outfit suits her so well, probably because she collaborates with her stylist on every look. Ortega has made it very clear that despite being a former Disney child actor and playing a teenager on Wednesday, she is very mature in her fashion choices, and I definitely respect this move.

This year's Primetime Emmy Awards also featured a Wednesday mother-daughter reunion, that time on stage, and that look was a lot different from this one. Jenna Ortega wore a revealing patchwork top made of hanging jewels, and it absolutely slayed. Fashion appears to be one of Ortega’s creative, expressive outlets, and it would seem she likes to go for those jaw-dropping looks whether she’s channeling Wednesday or not.

That isn’t to say Ortega didn’t nail every look while promoting the second season of her Netflix show, because she did. At one press event, she channeled her inner punk-rock with a clinging gray dress with back cutouts. The Wednesday Season 2 premiere revealed her take on a more mature Addams Wednesday, still rocking the smokey eye and all-black dress, just without the school-girl inspiration. It's possible this recent FYSEE event could be the last bit of Wednesday promotion we see for a bit, and I have to say these outfits were the perfect finale to a stunning press tour. Given Season 2’s cliffhanger, I'm pleased it's been confirmed that Tim Burton’s adaptation has been renewed for a third season. That means not only more new episodes but also more opportunities for Jenna Ortega and co. to sport goth fits on the red carpet.

Wednesday wrapped up its split-up second season before many of the 2025 TV schedule’s more Halloween-friendly releases, giving fans several cliffhangers to think about while waiting for Season 3. (Which we hopefully won’t be waiting too long for, since the creators are aware of how much that sucks.) I’m definitely right there along with every other fan echoing the same patient anticipation for new episodes. But now that I’ve seen all the show’s amazing LEGO sets, maybe my Wednesday priorities shifted a little.

Sure, it’s hyperbolic to say with any sincerity that I want to build LEGO sets more than I want a TV season that employs hundreds of workers to exist, but such is the power of LEGO’s draw. Since it’s not like I can just put Season 3 on a shelf somewhere and look at it admiringly every day the way I can with themed sets. Even if it comes out on DVD or Blu-ray, it’s still not going to look as cool. (Unless that Blu-ray was made out of LEGO, obviously.)

Thankfully, LEGO didn’t just opt for one or two sets, and took into account just how massive this show’s global fanbase is with its variety of options. Let’s start with the one that won me over the most, if you can HAND-le it.

LEGO's Thing's Apartment Set Is Absolutely Perfect

Call me a purist, but Thing is quite possibly my favorite character on Wednesday, with the surly titular teen coming in close second, and the fact that he has his own mini-apartment for downtime tickles me to no end. Plus, he deserves it, especially now that viewers have an answer for where he came from. Check out the opened-up trunk below.

I love how much of this is just made up of everyday items reformatted for a disembodied hand. Maybe the most curious part is that there's a mirror in there. Clearly Thing has a sense of sight to be able to do all of the things he does, and to move around with confidence. But it just seems pleasantly ridiculous to think about Thing looking at his reflection either contemplatively or for appearance purposes.

The Black Dahlia And Morticia's Cottage Sets Are Also Must-Haves

I love a LEGO set that appears to be one thing from far away, and is actually something else upon closer inspection. This isn't quite that, but the Black Dahlia set does mimic the show's location with a giant flower on top of Professor Thornhill's secret classroom. The set, which comes with Wednesday and Thornhill minifigs, opens up to show off some of the teacher's botanical decorations.

Morticia's Cottage is arguably the holy grail of any of these sets, given its size, the four minifigs it comes with (Wednesday, Lurch, Morticia, and Bianca Barclay), and the family car that's also included. The cottage itself opens up to reveal six different rooms, including the mysterious seance room, and a living room with a removable wall. And yes, the bathroom does come equipped with swords.

All The Other Wednesday LEGO Sets

While those three alone would be worth obsessing over for a while, that's not the extent of LEGO's partnership with Wednesday. We also have the following:

• LEGO Wednesday & Enid's Dorm Room (Sale Price $53.99) - Another great location set, this 750-piece creation comes with minifigs of Wednesday in both her uniform and her Rave'N Dance outfit, while Enid also gets both classic and Rave'N Dance looks. (Thing's there, too!) Not only does this set feature the iconic spider-web window, but also features two hidden drawers to hold extra accessories.

Considering Wednesday Season 3 likely won't show up on Netflix's schedule again until 2027 (unless we're very lucky), these LEGO sets may be the best way to spend quality time with TV's most macabre heroine. That'll give the company time to make a set for Tyler in Hyde form.

Method dressing has been having a major moment over the last few years, thanks to celebs like Zendaya. As she traveled the world promoting movies like Dune: Part Two and Challengers, fans took notice of her on-theme looks and fell in love. Now, many A-listers are dressing the part for their press tours, and Law Roach, who is Zendaya’s stylist and a pioneer of method dressing, has opened up about it and the actress he thinks is really killing the game.

Zendaya and Law Roach’s method dressing moments have been stunning and game-changing. From her viral Dune: Part Two robot look to her catalog to tennis-themed looks for Challengers, they proved to be masters of this trend. During an interview with Variety, the stylist was asked about their fashion choices and the fact that many others have taken on the trend for their own press tours. In response, he shared his love for the expansion as well as his particular appreciation for Jenna Ortega’s style, explaining:

He also said that it’s “fun” for him to watch other folks “adapting” the method dressing trend, and I bet he’s had a blast watching Ortega do it too.

Overall, the Wednesday star and her stylist, Enrique Melendez, have absolutely slayed the method dressing game. As Roach pointed out, the Wednesday press tour was incredible. As the show premiered on the 2025 TV schedule, Ortega rocked look after look that screamed Wednesday Addams but also highlighted her personal style, as you can see with the snakeskin dress she wore to the London premiere:

While it wasn’t Wednesday black (Ortega has rocked that many times, too), it was still on theme and a new and unique way to bring the Addams Family energy into her press tour looks.

I’d also like to point out that her fits for the Beetlejuice Beetlejuice press tour last year were inspired. From paying homage to the titular character’s striped suit to taking inspiration from quirky characters like Bob to rocking garments that were reminiscent of Winona Ryder’s iconic costumes, she truly killed the game. And she rightfully deserves her flowers.

Of course, Zendaya and Jenna Ortega aren’t the only celebs killing the method dressing trend, and Law Roach loves that. Speaking about how it has grown and why he loves that more people are doing it, the stylist said:

From watching Lindsay Lohan embrace nostalgia with her Frekaier Friday looks to seeing the various pink, green and Wicked-themed clothes Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo have worn over the last few years, it’s obvious how beloved this trend is.

Hopefully, it will just continue to expand and grow, too. I’m sure it will, seeing as Zendaya has multiple massive projects, like The Odyssey, Euphoria Season 3 and more, coming in the next year or so. Plus, I’m positive Jenna Ortega will keep killing the game, because like the Spider-Man: Homecoming star and her stylist, she and her team are pros at method dressing.

Jenna Ortega is continuing to prove that she was made for the role of Wednesday Addams, whether it’s because of her childhood manifestation, her personality, or another factor. It’s hard to imagine hit series Wednesday without her in the titular role that has made her a viral celeb on more than a few occasions. To that end, she pointed out a rather bizarre flaw with Netflix’s cliffhanger marketing for her character, which just proved even more that she was born for this role.

Taking part in a Hot Ones interview with some of her Wednesday co-stars, Ortega brought up the fact that she's not about to die on her own show, hilariously pointing out that it wouldn’t be Wednesday without, well, Wednesday. The marketing team has to be in on that, right?

It just makes the whole situation surrounding Wednesday’s fate even better, especially knowing what Ortega truly thinks of it.

Shows kill off main characters all the time, sometimes it’s permanent, sometimes they’re mysteriously brought back. However, killing off the lead character, whose name is the title of the show, is a different story. While that doesn’t necessarily mean that nothing bad can’t happen to them, it can be assumed that they won’t die outside of possibly in the very last episode. So Ortega had a pretty accurate reaction to Wednesday getting thrown out the window and knowing that she’ll live another day, while Netflix approached things as if she could actually be dead.

Of course, that doesn’t mean that Wednesday isn't entirely immune to dying or other awful fates. It’s entirely possible she could die and get brought back to life an episode later, but it’s much funnier going off the fact that regardless, Wednesday can’t permanently die because the show is about her.

Even if the show, streaming with a Netflix subscription, miraculously killed off Wednesday Addams, it’s not like Ortega wouldn’t still be attached to the series since she’s an executive producer. She has been making headlines for having her own creative thoughts on the series and putting her foot down when the story really needs it. Plus, Wednesday wouldn’t be dead for long if Ortega had anything to do with it. It would be risky killing off the lead character in a show named after them, but it would definitely make for entertaining television, to say the least.

WithWednesday already locked in for a third season, there is no telling where the story will go following Season 2’s finale. Details surrounding Season 3 have not yet been announced, but fans may want to buckle up because even though Wednesday can’t die doesn’t mean that the show will hold back on really giving it to her. Whatever happens, though, Jenna Ortega doesn’t seem too worried about it, and I can’t say I blame her.

Once Season 2 of Wednesday landed a premiere date on the 2025 TV schedule, we knew it was only a matter of time before Jenna Ortega would be back to slaying another press tour with new fashion looks. Across the past couple of months, Ortega and her team have absolutely delivered, between that snakeskin sheer look and her bejeweled Emmys moment. But, I’ve always wondered how much agency the actress has over what she shows up to red carpets in.

When it comes to the relationship between a big name and their styling team, I assume it’s typically a collaboration since it’s a form of self-expression for all involved, but how much? When it comes to Jenna Ortega, her hairstylist Cesar Deleon Ramirez said this about working with the Wednesday star:

Ramirez has been behind a ton of Ortega’s recent red carpet looks, from the braided ponytail that was paired with the snakeskin gown to giving Ortega 1940s-era curls to pair with the dress she wore made out of measuring tape to this year's Met Gala. While talking to HypeBae, he confirmed my suspicions that Ortega very much is all in on the process with them. As he continued:

Ortega is just 22 years old, but has proved to be the kind of young celebrity who aims to always be herself and speak out about what’s important to her. That’s proven by the producer role she took on for Wednesday Season 2, and through giving her input into her many viral red carpet moments.

During the interview, he called her signature aesthetic “new age vamp beauty” before talking about how he’s always trying to balance paying homage to her projects with the looks without sacrificing a sense of authenticity. Ortega turned heads for bleaching her eyebrows and pulling off a grungy ensemble to the New York premiere of the new season, and putting her own spin on the back cutout dress trend with the wet hair look for another Wednesday event. Plus, what about the time she wore the same newspaper dress Carrie Bradshaw once rocked on Sex and the City?

Obviously, it’s important to give credit where credit is due here. Ortega has an amazing team of experts who are making her look incredible at all these events and magazine shoots. But, I love that Ramirez calls the process a “sculpture” that every member of the team, including Ortega, is chipping away at together. It must be especially validating for all their work to get noticed and influence the current wave of high fashion, too.

Can you believe two full seasons of Wednesday have already come and gone? When it comes to Hunter Doohan’s Tyler Galpin, I need to talk about the wild journey we’ve been on with Jericho’s resident Hyde, because I absolutely have some great expectations for where the character could go next as we look ahead to Season 3.

Many moons ago, during Wednesday’s premiere season, Tyler was introduced as an unassuming coffee shop barista in the Nevermore Academy town of Jericho whom Jenna Ortega’s Wednesday Addams comes across early on, and forms an unlikely friendship with. But, since Wednesday uncovered he’s the town’s killer Hyde, they’ve become sworn enemies in Season 2. After seeing Season 2 play out completely, I’m actually hoping that Tyler will get a redemption arc in Season 3, and no longer be considered an enemy of our beloved morbid hero. Let’s get into it:

Tyler Galpin Is A Great Villain, But His Circumstances Are Also Completely Tragic

Look, I think Hunter Doohan has been a fantastic character to see evolve throughout Wednesday thus far, but I think part of what makes him interesting is how three-dimensional his story has been throughout the series. It wasn’t like Tyler was this normal nice guy that was actually nefarious the whole time, he has this monster ability that’s not exactly easy to handle, and there were definitely hints throughout the season that something was going on with him behind the scenes that gave the reveal some merit, and I love when characters feel palpable in fantastical worlds, such as this one derived from the Addams Family franchise.

Then came Season 1’s big twist, where Tyler wasn’t unveiled to be the main villain, but an accomplice to the evil plan of Christina Ricci’s Marilyn Thornhill (whose real identity was Laurel Gates) to resurrect Joseph Crackstone to continue his crusade against outcasts. Season 2 starts with Tyler being chained up in Willow Hill for his crimes until he escapes with the rest of the inmates, and reunites with his mother, Francoise, who is also a Hyde. Then, with his uncle, Isaac Knight (aka Slurp and the body that belongs to Thing), he becomes determined to continue his mission to remove his sister from her Hyde identity.

When you zoom out, Tyler has never been the mastermind behind anything. In both seasons, his abilities have been manipulated to forward the goals of others, and in the process, he’s had to lose both of his parents and attempt to grapple with becoming an outcast under some very unsupportive circumstances. No wonder he’s so messed up!

He's Been Essentially Used By Other Characters Two Seasons In A Row

With what’s happened so far in mind, I think it’s clear that Tyler has been ruled by survival and the want to belong as he’s embroiled in trauma, suffering and confusion, but has learned some really hard lessons about who not to trust. I think there’s still a long way to go for Tyler, following watching his mother fall to his death after being betrayed by her, after allowing his uncle to bury his former friend (Wednesday) alive. However, I do think that there’s something to be said here about the fact that he’s just been following others’ lead for the past two seasons.

Coming out of Season 2, I can see that Tyler wants to fight for himself and get a handle on his life, and his Hyde identity, and his part of the Wednesday Season 2 ending, I think, opens that possibility up. (But, more on that in a little bit).

I Think Tyler Deserves A Redemption Arc

After what happened to Tyler in the first two seasons, I think there’s some really great potential for the character to become more of a hero – or anti-hero type, like Wednesday already thrives on. Within the show’s DNA already, it’s been setting up a lot of themes regarding how the monsters we regard as being “good” vs. “bad” are often not who they seem. I mean, just look at Agnes’ storyline throughout the new season! She was set up as a creepy stalker before the series delved deeper into her personality and why she was following Wednesday to begin with.

I think it would be really powerful for the show if Tyler got to evolve as a character as this tragic villain, to someone who really owns his monster self and hones a more good-natured approach to life, rather than sinking further into the cycle of manipulation and hurt he’s been caught up in. He’s a really solid character, and I hope the creators will turn around the narrative for him in Season 3.

And, I'm Intrigued About Where The Season 2 Finale Left His Character

Following the awesome finale for Wednesday Season 2, I have a lot more questions than answers about what’s next. Like, what’s going on with that Enid cliffhanger, and will the next season take place completely outside of Nevermore Academy? There’s a lot to think about before the next season, but I’m certainly very curious about where the show is going with Tyler. On one hand, Billie Piper’s Isadora Capri seems good-natured, and given her dad was a hyde and she once fell in love with a hyde, has a soft spot for the species.

But, I also kind of have trust issues regarding the characters on Wednesday, and would hate for Isadora to be yet another character that wants to manipulate Tyler. Either way, I definitely think where Tyler is going next, outside of Jericho and apparently with a pack of Hydes, will allow him to grow as a character, and perhaps start the redemption for him that I currently crave.

Wednesday and Enid have been bestie goals for all of Wednesday. However, by the time Season 2 came to an end on Netflix’s 2025 schedule, they went from being a duo to a trio, with Evie Templeton’s invisible gal Agnes joining their crew. However, it wasn’t smooth sailing to get to that point, and Agnes’ journey with friendship was certainly rocky, but it was also moving.

In Part 1, I Simply Thought Agnes Was Wednesday’s Creepy Stalker

I think part of this story’s brilliance is the way it makes us view Agnes at the start. For a good portion of the show, specifically Part 1, she’s Wednesday’s stalker. She’s portrayed as creepy and clingy, especially through the eyes of Enid, and I wasn’t sure what to make of her.

I couldn’t figure out if Agnes was friend or foe. However, Part 2 quickly revealed that there was so much more to her story, and amplified the fact that Agnes’ tale is one that so many (myself included) have lived when it comes to being a teenager who just wants to fit in and make friends.

Part 2 Quickly Revealed How Lonely Agnes Was, And The Struggle She Faced To Find Friends

While Agnes seems fairly unbothered by Enid’s comments about her, things come to a head in Episode 6. While Enid is trapped in Wednesday’s body, Agnes tells her that Enid might be Wednesday’s problem, and it might be time to cut her off. That causes Enid – who looks like Wednesday – to break and call Agnes a “sycophantic loser,” while saying they’re “not friends” and she doesn’t like her.

That leads Templeton's character to a support group made up of body parts that are missing their bodies. Though Agnes has her whole body, she is warmly welcomed, and candidly tells the group:

Agnes gets more desperate in the following episode and acts in ways she probably shouldn't. However, of all the people to help her, Enid steps up. In Episode 7, she tells the literally invisible girl:

That leads to them performing the epic Season 2 dance together, and from then on out, we get to see Agnes being truly herself. It’s this struggle and ultimate acceptance from everyone involved in this scenario that hit me so hard, and it’s because I, like many, faced this kind of challenge as a kid, too.

Seeing Enid And Wednesday Embrace Agnes For Who She Is Hit Me Hard

Wednesday’s whole message about outcasts and accepting those for everything they are is always something I’ve loved. However, the way they displayed that message through Agnes’ story really moved me. As a former teenage girl, I remember trying to figure out how to fit in, the temptation to change myself to be like others, and the struggle that comes with making friends.

It’s real, and it’s scary. And ultimately, we all deserve love and acceptance for exactly who we are. So, by the end of Wednesday Season 2, when Wednesday and Enid had fully embraced and welcomed Agnes into their little crew, I couldn’t help but feel emotional.

This storyline reminded me of growing up, making friends and figuring out who I was, and it also depicted the challenges and social pressures to try and conform perfectly. So, yeah, overall, Agnes’ story in Season 2 of Wednesday made me emotional, and I’m so happy it was included.

The long-awaited second season of Wednesday is finally available to stream in full with a Netflix subscription following the release of Part 2 earlier this month. Jenna Ortega killed it, of course, as the titular Wednesday Addams, which wasn’t surprising since she gave it her all during Season 1, even if she wanted to pull her hair out at times. It also shouldn’t be so surprising that she’s been nailing the role, because during her Disney Channel days, she outed herself as a great candidate for the Addams Family character.

Before making her mark on Wednesday and in the Scream franchise, Ortega was starring on the Disney Channel series Stuck in the Middle. From 2016 to 2018, she portrayed Harley Diaz, a genius inventor with six siblings, and as the title suggests, she was literally stuck in the middle as the fourth child. To celebrate the release of Wednesday Season 2, Disney Channel made sure to remind Instagram followers that Ortega was certainly the perfect candidate because of one particular line from the very first episode of Stuck in the Middle:

Of course, no one could have predicted at the time that Ortega would go from playing a “Wednesday of the family” to actually playing Wednesday Addams less than a decade later. But it certainly shows that it was fate. Even though Harley and Wednesday are pretty different from each other, it is still fun knowing that Ortega unintentionally manifested her future.

That being said, when Ortega was on Disney Channel, she still worked busy hours, so it wasn’t all fun. Stuck in the Middle ran for three seasons and nearly 60 episodes, but it’s hard to predict how things would have gone in her career had she not had that jumpstart. Plus, she previously got candid about being a Disney Channel kid after the Quiet on Set documentary was released and admitted her mom protected her, so it wasn’t all bad.

Meanwhile, Wednesday Season 2 may have only just premiered, but Season 3 is already on the way. Netflix renewed the series for another season prior to Part 1 of Season 2's release, meaning fans will be finding out what happens after that big Enid cliffhanger. A premiere date has not been given for Season 3, but hopefully it will arrive in the next year or two.

While waiting for Season 3, fans can always watch the first two seasons of Wednesday on Netflix, or if they have a Disney+ subscription, Stuck in the Middle wouldn’t be such a bad idea. It may be a Disney Channel series, but it’s pretty great seeing just how far an actor has come in a few years and watching why Jenna Ortega is the perfect Wednesday Addams.

She sported a bejeweled look on the red carpet even though she's not one of the nominees at the 2025 Emmys, and I daresay her fans are going to love her more for it.

I promptly binged Part 2 of Wednesday Season 2 right when it dropped on Netflix’s 2025 schedule. Once it was all over, the scene I kept thinking about was the fight between Isaac Night and Thing. So, when I got the chance to interview the actor behind this season’s big bad, I had to ask him what it was like to fight his own hand.

The ending of Wednesday Season 2 was certainly action-packed with cliffhangers – like Enid’s fate – and twists – like the Ophelia reveal. However, the biggest shock to me was the fact that we got Thing’s origin story. The hand was originally connected to Isaac Night, this season’s villain, and when I asked Owen Painter about learning this information, he said he was made aware of it early on and that it was “top secret.”

He also said he was covertly studying Victor Dorobantu’s performance as Thing, and trying to pick up on his mannerisms to prepare for the fight, explaining:

Along with studying how Dorobantu played the iconic Addams Family hand, Painter said he was also thinking a lot about physical jokes he could do while they filmed the fight between Thing and Isaac. That’s because, while the fight was all about Thing claiming his autonomy over Isaac and defeating him, Painter still had to play both parties involved in the battle while the hand was connected to his character.

So, he tried to prep by writing down all the ideas he could think of to make the fight entertaining:

After Painter wrote down the ideas he had, he told me he worked with the stunt team to plan out how the fight would go. While many sequences involve a person fighting another person, this was obviously unique because he had to fight his own hand, so they had fun playing into the comedy of that, as the actor said:

Once he worked with the stunt team, it was time to take their plan to Tim Burton and film the fight.

The Isaac actor told me that while some of their plans made it into the cut, the director also wanted to work with him on it, and the fight evolved as they shot it. They also kept coming back around to it, making it so it took about a week to film the whole sequence, as Painter explained:

He went on to say it was so “fun” and “great,” and I could feel that on screen, too.

Isaac and Thing’s quarrel is quite dramatic; it literally ends with Thing ripping Isaac’s heart out. However, it’s also really funny (I’m thinking about the moment where Thing flips him off and pokes him in the eye), and I love how the show leaned into the absurdity.

Painter’s commitment to playing both the evil Isaac and Thing as the hand worked to regain its own control was quite brilliant, and it made for a final battle that’s unlike anything I’ve ever seen before.

Overall, Wednesday Season 2 is full of memorable and incredible unique set pieces and scenes, including the dance between Enid and Agnes and the body swap episode. And this final battle is certainly part of that list. Owen Painter was brilliant in it, and he absolutely killed what was ultimately a fight with his own hand.

Wednesday is one of the best Netflix shows to binge watch, and is one of the most popular shows in the streamer's history. Those with a Netflix subscription were recently treated to Season 2, which took years to arrive. But Wednesday fans are super passionate, and invested in the cast both on and off camera. And now actor Hunter Doohan has addressed rumors online about his husband having a feud with Jenna Ortega.

Wednesday Season 2 is finally streaming in its entirety, thanks to it being split in half. While fans are dissecting every frame of footage, the Wednesday cast has has faced some scrutiny in their personal lives as well. While appearing on the podcast I've Never Said This Before with Tommy DiDario, Doohan addressed rumors that swirled after he didn't attend the Season 2 premiere. Specifically, that it was somehow related to his husband being jealous of Ortega. As he shared:

He certainly didn't mince his words. F-bomb and all, it sounds like Doohan is pretty flabbergasted by the chatter that surrounding his marriage. But at least he's gotten the chance to set the record straight, and share how silly he thought this story is.

Fame can really be double-edged sword, and this seems like a prime example of the dark side to notoriety. This discourse is directly associated with Wednesday's popularity, which is extreme. Doohan offered more context for his absence from the Season 2 Part 1 premiere, saying:

This type of scheduling snafu is commonplace for the entertainment world, with actors often shooting new projects while promoting previous ones. There was a perfectly reasonable explanation for Hunter Doohan not attending the Wednesday Season 2 premiere, but that didn't stop the internet from doing its thing.

Wednesday has helped make household name out of its young cast, which has created unique fame-related challenges for them. Jenna Ortega admits fan interactions make her nervous, and Doohan shared what it's been like from his perspective. The 31 year-old actor offered:

This sounds like a uniquely Hollywood experience, one that many of us would struggle with. While Doohan has enjoyed meeting Wednesday fans IRL, the online rumors about his personal life has been less than ideal. Although as he pointed out, he's not the only member of the cast to face this.

When Wednesday Season 2 ended on Netflix’s 2025 schedule, I was in shock. So much happened, and there’s a lot to unpack. However, today we’re going to focus on Enid and the state she’s in. Yes, at the end of Season 2, she’s stuck as a werewolf, and Wednesday has set out to find her. So, while I continued to try and comprehend how Enid will come back to us, I had to ask Emma Myers how she reacted to her character’s cliffhanger ending.

After Wednesday Part 2 came out, I chatted with Emma Myers about major moments, like Enid and Agnes' dance and that iconic body swap episode. We also discussed the end of the season and the fact that Enid is stuck as a werewolf. I specifically asked the actress if she knew this would happen in advance, and she said:

First of all, it’s kind of wild that Emma Myers didn’t find out about her character's fate until she read the script for Episode 8. However, since they film Wednesday as it’s being written (like a lot of shows do), I get it. Still, though, for such a massive development, I’m a bit surprised no one gave her a heads up.

Luckily, it was a shocking development that made a lot of sense. Enid transformed to save Wednesday, knowing that she might not be able to turn back into a human. Their friendship is so meaningful, and they care so much for each other that this selfless choice was on par.

Even though it made sense, though, Myers was still in shock about the development. And she told me how she reacted to the news by recalling what she told Jenna Ortega after she read the script:

Well, I sure hope she isn’t a “big CGI wolf for all of Season 3.” However, I would also get it if she’s in that form for a while. Wednesday still has to find her, and while co-showrunner Miles Millar said we “should still be very worried for Enid” at the end of Part 1, I think that’s still very true now.

Will Enid be different when Wednesday finds her? How will being stuck as a wolf and her newfound alpha status impact her? These are questions I need answered ASAP when Wednesday returns for Season 3, and hopefully Emma Myers gets those answers too as she goes into round three of playing her beloved werewolf and Wednesday’s bestie.

It’s no secret that Jenna Ortega’s talent and ambition will carry her far. Already she’s accrued quite an acting resume, including the iconic Wednesday Addams (which she voiced creative concerns over), so it’s not surprising she’s interested in more. Of course, Ortega’s already made it known she wants to direct movies, but now has revealed genres that she’d like to pursue. And I’m sat and waiting in the wings for her future aspirations.

During a press event for Wednesday Season 2, which recently wrapped its two-part drop on the 2025 Netflix release schedule, Ortega shared with People some other projects she'd like to put her creative stamp on. Surprisingly, perhaps, her answer fit the vibes of the macabre streaming show and collaboration with director Ti West, as the 22-year-old’s response was specific and detailed about the kind of movie she wants to make, stating:

I’m frankly very into that for the young star! After all, she’s consistently booked some of the best self-aware horror staples in Hollywood history (Scream, Wednesday and Beetlejuice Beetlejuice), and her work in other offbeat genre fare like X and Death of a Unicorn are also proof of concept. I can only imagine her interpretation and portrayal of either of them in front of or behind the camera would be done with such love and detail. Now, I’m just wondering when this statement will come to fruition because I'm glued to the idea.

Ortega was quick to shed light on my aforementioned curiosity, and shared a rough timeline of when she may put on that new hat. And unfortunately, it doesn’t seem like it’s even coming down the pipe at this point. For now, she’s happy where she is and said it’s a role she can still dream about, as she said:

The response is completely understandable with how much she has going on. Aside from Wednesday and the new season, she was in two 2025 movie guide titles, Death of a Unicorn and Hurry Up Tomorrow. I can only believe her directing dreams are a nice reprieve between all the different sets for these projects.

In addition to her professional picks and projected timeline, Ortega weighed in on why she gravitates toward the spooky side of Hollywood in general. Specifically, she revealed that some of her personal favorite big screen watches are “‘grounded’ with a ‘hint of surrealism.’” From there, she went on to reason it's probably why she enjoys scary movies because it often bends expectations, by saying:

She’s not wrong in that train of thought, fans like me, are on that same page. There’s certainly more space for imagination and subverting normal story structures. And, in the age of systematic streaming content, it’s one of the most reliable ways to keep a title fresh and interesting. Along with it, I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s one of the reasons why Ortega craved ‘more horror’ for Wednesday Season 2.

Though we still have to wait for the day a Jenna Ortega directed project is announced, it’s really exciting to know she’s musing about it.

The last thing I expected while watching Season 2 of Wednesday was a body swap episode. Quite literally, my jaw dropped when it opened with Jenna Ortega’s character dancing in the Nevermore courtyard with the enthusiasm and bright pink wardrobe of Enid. And I loved every single second of this wild twist, so I had to ask Emma Myers, who plays Wednesday’s bestie, about it. She told me how they nailed it, even though it made them “miserable” and “nervous.”

Wednesday’s Emma Myers Told Me Why She And Jenna Ortega Were Both ‘Miserable’ And ‘Nervous’ About The Body Swap Episode

As Part 2 of Wednesday Season 2 dropped on Netflix’s 2025 schedule, I had the chance to chat with Enid actress Emma Myers, and I knew I had to ask her about also playing Wednesday this season. However, I also had to ask about what it was like to see Jenna Ortega play the upbeat werewolf. In response, the actress told me why the situation made them both “miserable” and “nervous,” explaining:

Enid and Wednesday are polar opposites, so Myers and Ortega really had to totally change the way they acted to pull off the body swap. Plus, Wednesday’s stoic physicality and Enid’s bright energy are signatures of the characters that the actresses had to capture perfectly to make the swap believable.

However, the worry turned out to be unwarranted, because they were pitch-perfect as each other’s characters.

Not only did the Scream actress add a whole bunch of pep to her step and color to her wardrobe to pull off Enid, Myers absolutely killed the death glares and monotone tone of the titular character. So, let’s talk about how she did just that.

Emma Myers Told Me The ‘Key’ To Nailing Jenna Ortega’s Wednesday

Along with learning a new dance for Season 2, Emma Myers also had to perfect her Wednesday impression. She did a magnificent job, too, and she told me how she did that, saying:

I sincerely think this episode of Wednesday deserves to live among the best body swap movies, like Freaky Friday, because Myers and Ortega were so convincing as each other’s characters.

Even seeing Myers play Wednesday in Enid’s body as she was trying to impersonate Enid was hilarious. Watching her attempt to smile and be cheery was really funny, while her death stare and stark movements were a spot-on recreation of how Ortega’s character really acts.

Understandably, this whole arc was stressful for both actresses involved, and I imagine the pressure was hard to manage. They had to make this convincing to make it a great episode, and the characters they had to play were nothing like the girls they typically portray. That’s a hard assignment; however, they killed it.

I sincerely think this episode of Wednesday is one of my favorites, and I’ll forever be in awe of just how perfectly Emma Myers played Wednesday and Jenna Ortega played Enid.

When Wednesday Season 1 came out, Jenna Ortega’s dance number took the world by storm. Now, with Lady Gaga involved, Season 2 has upped its dance game by giving Enid and Agnes the big number in the show’s run on the 2025 TV schedule. Let me tell you, I think it totally lives up to the OG number, and is even better in some ways. And I adore it even more after the actresses who play the characters doing the moves told me about an Addams Family Easter egg and how they filmed the sequence.

The Addams Family Easter Egg That’s Featured In Agnes And Enid’s Dance

After catching the attention of Lady Gaga with Wednesday’s Season 1 dance, and her song “Bloody Mary” being used in TikToks of it, she was heavily featured in Season 2's sequence. That’s because she provided the song “The Dead Dance” for the girls to dance to. However, this wasn’t the only fun connection; there was also a cute Addams Family Easter egg embedded in the choreography as Evie Templeton, who plays Agnes, told me during an interview for CinemaBlend:

It sure was fun, and when I watched the infectious dance for the first time, I was wondering if that was an homage to Thing. Well, it’s confirmed it was, and you can see the cute move (as well as the other great choreography) below:

However, the Easter egg is kind of where the Addams Family influence starts and ends. While the dancing in this season’s number is reminiscent of Wednesday’s dance in some ways, it’s also totally different.

Myers told me that was intentional. They wanted to make their own thing, and they loved doing it, especially since both she and Templeton have “dance backgrounds.” She explained:

Well, I’d say they certainly accomplished that goal. Much like the dance Jenna Ortega helped create for Season 1, Season 2’s big number is already going viral, with fans recreating it on social media:

However, the Addams Family homage and infectious new choreography aren’t the only things that made this scene so incredible. So, we need to talk about some of the other elements that really made this whole scene remarkable.

Evie Templeton Broke Down How She And Emma Myers Prepared For Their Wednesday Dance

Don’t get me wrong, I’m obsessed with the Season 1 dance. However, there’s no question that Season 2’s is more elaborate, and it hits in a new and distinct way. That was what they were working hard to do, too, as Templeton told me that they spent weeks rehearsing. She said:

Their gorgeous dresses certainly added to the extravagance as well, which I absolutely adored.

However, the element that really catapulted this number to iconic status came with the invisible lifts Agnes and Evie did. It was such a fun way to highlight Agnes’ power, and it was a visual illusion I couldn’t get enough of.

Myers said they had to film those moments three times each to capture them perfectly, and Templeton detailed exactly how they did that, saying:

What an amazing process, and what a wonderful product!

It looked like those two women were having a blast on the dance floor, and I love how unique this number was. It adds a perfect scene to a now-growing list of Wednesday dance numbers, and I love how it both paid homage to the Addams Family and one of the reasons the OG moves went viral with Lady Gaga’s music, while also being its own amazing moment.

We learned that Lady Gaga had joined the cast of Wednesday in November of 2024, and since then, we’ve been trying to guess and theorize about who the “Born This Way” singer could play. Overall, there’s been a lot of pomp and circumstance around her being on the show, so when she appeared as Rosaline Rotwood for only a few scenes, fans didn’t hold back their thoughts about her lack of screentime. However, I have a theory that there’s a bit more to her character’s story than meets the eye.

Fans Can’t Get Over The Amount Of Screentime Lady Gaga Had In Wednesday Season 2

When the final four episodes of Wednesday Season 2 premiered on Netflix’s 2025 schedule, we finally got to see Lady Gaga in the role of Rosaline Rotwood. We learned that her character was a former teacher at Nevermore, and Wednesday visited her grave to get help with her psychic powers. Rotwood was a powerful psychic, and Wednesday sought out her assistance because she wanted to use her own psychic abilities again. However, things went awry, and Rotwood made Wednesday pay a price by forcing her to body-swap with Enid.

Ultimately, Gaga was only on screen for less than two minutes between that scene and one other, and fans weren’t thrilled about it, as @AMENARTPOP posted:

Another fan posted a TikTok of someone popping in and out of frame in the blink of an eye to illustrate their thoughts on her cameo:

Overall, reactions to her cameo have been mixed. Some thought she ate in the tiny amount of time she had; others were hungry for me. Here’s a smattering of the opinions people had about the pop star’s part in Wednesday:

I agree with that last one; she killed every second of the show she was in. And while I get the disappointment that she wasn’t in more, I’m just happy we got her in the first place. However, I also don’t think we’ve seen the last of Lady Gaga on Wednesday, which is helping process her small amount of screentime, too.

However, I Have A Theory That Lady Gaga Could Play A Bigger Role In Wednesday Season 3

As I was watching the end of Wednesday Season 2, I couldn’t help but think that we hadn’t seen the last of Lady Gaga. Obviously, her participation in Season 3 is not confirmed, so I don’t actually know. However, when it was revealed that Ophelia was alive and hiding in Grandmama’s basement, my gut reaction was to theorize that she would be played by the singer.

Think about it, Grandmama was the one who told Wednesday about Rosaline, so I don’t think it’s off base to make the connection between the spirit and Ophelia. Plus, in that final scene, where we saw her writing about how Wednesday must die (which you can see above), it was hard not to clock the long platinum blonde hair, which I immediately associated with Lady Gaga.

Plus, for a while now, there’s been speculation that she’d play Ophelia. And I don’t think we should bury that theory in a grave quite yet.

So, yes, it’s a bummer Lady Gaga wasn’t in much of Wednesday. However, don’t give up hope quite yet, folks, because I don’t think we’ve seen the last of her…

Spoilers, and I mean all the spoilers, for Wednesday Season 2 are ahead! So, read with caution, and watch the series with a Netflix subscription.

You know, we were told to “buckle up” for Part 2 of Wednesday Season 2, and boy, was that true. These last four episodes proved to be all the adjectives associated with the Addams Family – “creepy, kooky, mysterious and spooky” – and we got a bunch of twists and turns that provided clarity on some matters and questions about others.

So, now, as the wait for Season 3 begins, let’s break down the biggest twists and surprises as well as THAT origin story (you know which one I’m talking about).

Enid Is Stuck As A Werewolf After Saving Wednesday

Arguably, the biggest update, since it was both a focal point of the episodes that dropped on Netflix’s 2025 schedule and a major mystery going into Season 3, was the fact that Enid transformed into a werewolf to save Wednesday, even though she knew she might not be able to shift back.

At the end of the season, she was missing after running away and still a wolf, and Jenna Ortega’s character was leaving her family with Uncle Fester and Thing to find her. However, it sounds like when she finds her, she won’t be the same happy-go-lucky roommate, because Wednesday said in voice over:

It had been implied that Emma Myers' character transforming into an alpha wolf could have dire consequences. However, Wednesday’s musings added an extra surprising stake into the heart of this plot point, and I’m sure it will be a vital part of the story in Season 3.

I Didn't Expect Capri And Tyler To Make A Deal, But They Did

Isadora Capri and Tyler were certainly a pairing I wasn’t expecting, just like I wasn’t expecting Wednesday to show Tyler mercy by freeing him from Isaac’s bonds. Now, I’m so curious to see how this Hyde factors into Wednesday’s story.

I had a feeling Billie Piper’s teacher had to factor into the story in a bigger way somehow, and this plot twist certainly affirms that assumption. It seems like Capri could become Tyler’s new master or motherly figure of sorts, even though she said she’s not “interested in being either,” as she explained:

So, it seems like the Hydes will continue to be an issue on Wednesday, and maybe there will be more of them. Also, after Wednesday let Tyler go, I can’t help but wonder if this offer will help him heal and be better, or if it will make him even more evil.

At this point, Tyler is in a vulnerable state, and this deal feels like a game-changer for him. It also feels like a game-changer for the show’s overall story, considering co-creator Alfred Gough did say that Hunter Doohan’s character is “the ultimate wild card.”

So, Is Ophelia Alive? Why Was She Writing About Wednesday Dying? Is She Also Lady Gaga?

While we had our fair share of surprises and shocking updates, I think the biggest plot twist came when it was revealed that Ophelia is alive. And she’s not just alive; it would appear she wants Wednesday dead (or maybe she had a vision that shows that Wednesday must die).

It turns out, Grandmama had a big secret of her own, and this long-lost aunt who was talked about frequently was being kept in her basement. So, that brings up a lot of questions about why she’s being hidden and why she’s writing about Wednesday dying on the wall.

However, the other question here is: Who is playing Ophelia? We know that Lady Gaga was on Wednesday as Rosaline Rotwood, a spirit who helped Wednesday temporarily use her power and caused the body swap between the titular character and Enid. However, what if she’s also Ophelia, and that’s her true identity?

Considering Grandmama was the one to reveal Rosaline to Wednesday, and she’s the one holding Ophelia, it certainly is possible. Plus, that long blonde hair we saw is giving Gaga.

I Cannot (And Will Not) Get Over Thing's Origins

Now, while all that is shocking and twisty and will impact Season 3, the reveal in this finale that surprised me the most had to do with Thing’s origins. Frankly, I never thought we’d learn about the body the hand originally belonged to. However, it was revealed that Thing is an anagram for Night, and he was attached to this season’s big bad, Isaac Night.

I honestly felt a bit traumatized watching the hand be swen back on to Isaac, and I was deeply sad when Thing lost his self-control. However, the hand came out victorious as he used his autonomy to fight Isaac back and help defeat this mad scientist who was out for revenge.

It’s wild to look back on Season 2 and see the arc our favorite hand experienced. He had an existential crisis, sought out help, and ultimately played a major part in defeating this season's big bad while reclaiming and owning himself.

Other Questions That Cropped Up After Wednesday’s Season 2 Finale

• How will Wednesday’s relationship with her family be impacted by all the secrets they’re keeping?
• Will Pugsley actually hang out with Eugene over the summer?
• Are Ajax and Bianca going to end up being more than friends? What does that mean for their friendships with Enid?
• Who is Agnes' dad, and will he be important?

Well, now we have to wait in woe for Season 3. However, thankfully, Season 2 left us with a lot to think about, and I’m certain these loose ends, reveals, twists and origins will play a big part in whatever comes next for Wednesday Addams.

After the first part of Wednesday Season 2, we were left on quite a cliffhanger as Wednesday was left in a coma. Now, we’re so close to Part 2 dropping on the 2025 TV schedule, and I’m trying to fathom what we’re about to witness. That alone had me thrilled for what will come next. However, after CinemaBlend spoke with one of the show’s stars about Part 1, they gave us a three-word tease about what’s to come that has me even more excited for the next four episodes.

Luyanda Unati Lewis-Nyawo, who plays Sheriff Santiago, sat down with CinemaBlend to chat about the mystery unfolding in Season 2. When asked for three words to describe what’s coming next in the show’s run on Netflix’s 2025 schedule, they said:

Considering all the loose ends left at the end of Part 1, this feels like an appropriate way to tease what’s to come. We sincerely are in for it when Wednesday comes back, and Luyanda Unati Lewis-Nyawo telling us to “buckle up” for it signifies that what’s coming will be wild.

To reiterate, Lewis-Nyawo plays Sheriff Santiago in the show, and so their character is immersed in the mystery at Willow Hill, specifically. Going into Part 2, I’m curious to see how she finds herself involved in Wednesday’s situation, and how Jenna Ortega’s character will use the new sheriff to help her.

The questions and curiosity don’t stop there either. Part 1 ended with Wednesday falling out of a window, and we know she’s hospitalized. We also know Gwendoline Christie will return as Weems to be her “spirit guide” while she’s healing, which has me wondering how the former principal could be connected to the mystery going on in reality.

Also, we still don’t know anything about who Lady Gaga will be playing, other than the character’s name, Rosaline Rotwood, and she’ll be an instructor at Nevermore who wears all white.

Oh, and to add on to this now seemingly never-ending list of storylines we’ll need to address, co-creator Alfred Gough said the newly escaped Tyler will be “the ultimate wild card” going into these final episodes.

However, that wasn’t it; he also said in the same interview with EW that we all need to “be very worried for Enid." Remember, Wednesday is convinced her roomie and friend will die, and that will continue to be an issue in these new episodes, I assume.

So, yeah, buckle up folks, we’re in for an absolutely wild, thrilling and horrific ride when Wednesday returns, and as the Sheriff Santiago actor said, we’re going to need to hang on for it.

The second half of Wednesday's second season is easily one of the biggest streaming debuts of post-Labor Day week, and fans will no doubt be bingeing the final four episodes via Netflix subscription with the quickness. The new eps will finally deliver the highly anticipated arrival of Lady Gaga's new character, who's mostly been cloaked in mystery since she was first announced. Now, we have our first look at Ms. Rosaline Rotwood, but I'm already questioning whether or not that's actually her real name.

Check out what we can expect from Lady Gaga's Nevermore instructor, who looks about as perfect as any character can within the world of the Addams Family, even though she'll certainly stand out for wearing all white.

It's a surprisingly simple approach for a pop culture queen who has pulled off some of the more elaborately themed looks of any entertainer in the 21st century. Granted, it's possible the back of that shirt could feature a big colorful dragon or something, but I doubt it.

But can we agree that there's something unexpected about this first look? Something that has me questioning whether this woman's real name is actually Rosaline Rotwood.

Why Is Rosaline Rotwood So Friendly With Thing?

To me, Lady Gaga's look isn't even as striking as the fact that Thing is a key part of the photo. We're not talking about a prop or piece of wardrobe that can be tossed on and off without questioning anything. Thing is a sentient character, so for it to be posing with Rosaline means that it's there agreeably and not under duress.

To me, for Rosaline to be posing with a member of the Addams Family (biological or otherwise), it must mean the two characters already have a positive standing relationship of some kind. Considering we never saw Thing rushing off to go on mysterious hangouts during the first season and a half of this show, I think their chumminess predates Wednesday's arrival at Nevermore.

Considering Rosaline Rotwood is described as being a legendary instructor at Nevermore, one could theorize that Thing knew her back when Morticia attended the Academy. But that would require the character to age differently from the norm, since Lady Gaga is technically 16 years younger than Morticia actress Catherine Zeta-Jones. Which leads me to the big question...

Is Lady Gaga Actually Playing Morticia's Sister Ophelia Frump?

This definitely isn't a new theory or anything, since Ophelia was referenced an almost cartoonish number of times in the first four episodes, to the point where theories abound regarding other female characters possibly being revealed as the long-missing sister. And given she hasn't arrived yet, Lady Gaga's new character was also in that mix.

Actually seeing her makes that theory seem even more likely, too. Because within Addams Family lore, Ophelia is known to counter her siblings' dark aesthetic by wearing white and other light colors, while also rocking a head of light blonde hair. Not exactly the most common look at Nevermore.

Plus, if she's actually Ophelia, that would likely help explain why Thing is part of the first look, if one assumes that Thing has been with Morticia since her teen years and would have been around Ophelia at the same time. Sure there are probably other explanations that would make sense out of this, but probably nothing as interesting for the storyline. (I guess she could be revealed as a sister to Gwendoline Christie's returning character Larissa Weems, but it would still take some plot-juicing for it to matter.)

Fans had to wait quite a while after Wednesday Season 1 to get Season 2, and then Netflix decided to make fans wait to get to the end of Season 2. Luckily, the wait ends this week when the back half of Season 2 of Wednesday arrives. Luckily, we shouldn’t have to wait quite as long for more Jenna Ortega, as Wednesday Season 3 has already been given the green light.

Tony & Ziva - September 4 (Paramount+)

NCIS is one of the longest-running shows on TV, and it’s had a rotating cast of characters throughout its decade-plus run. It’s a safe bet, however, that no characters have been as popular with fans as Tony DiNozzo and Ziva David, as played by Michael Weatherly and Cote de Pablo. You’ll need a Paramount+ subscription to follow the new adventures of the first couple of NCIS in their spinoff series Tony & Ziva, as the show won’t be on CBS.

The Paper, Season 1 - September 4 (Peacock)

The Office is one of the best sitcoms of all time, according to basically anybody who’s ever seen it. That’s going to make for a high bar to clear when spinoff series The Paper debuts. The series, available with a Peacock subscription, stars Domhall Gleeson, the editor in chief of a failing newspaper, trying to keep it relevant.

Highest 2 Lowest - September 5 (Apple TV+)

It’s been a long time since Spike Lee and Denzel Washington have worked together, but when they do, it’s magic. Highest 2 Lowest got strong positive responses from critics when the film opened in theaters. This week the film becomes available with an Apple TV+ subscription.

The Great British Baking Show - September 5 (Netflix)

Honestly, at this point, I think the entire reason I still have a Netflix subscription might be The Great British Baking Show. The series is the definition of comfort viewing, and so I’m so happy that the series returns this week with 10 new bakers to go through a series of challenges to crown a winner.

September is going to continue to be a solid month for streaming, with a new season of Only Murders in the Building and the debut of the Marvel Zombies animated series among the new shows arriving this month.

There’s nothing quite like a promotional tour to get celebs out and about in their finest and/or wildest looks, and Wednesday star Jenna Ortega has not disappointed while hitting the red…I mean, gray-ish carpet for Season 2 of her hit series (which you can watch with a Netflix subscription). While she usually leaves the Wednesday Addams schoolgirl styles well behind for such occasions, that doesn’t mean she goes totally goth free. In fact, she recently turned up in a punk rock/goth combo that’s left me in awe of her intricate back cutouts.

What Punk Rock/Goth Look Did Jenna Ortega Wear For A Recent Wednesday Season 2 Event?

We all know that Beetlejuice Beetlejuice star Jenna Ortega has been a top-tier method dresser since Wednesday (which began Season 2 on the 2025 TV schedule in August) launched her into the fame stratosphere back in 2022. Just recently, she’s given us spooky girl grungy chic, and even sheer white snakeskin that still managed to deliver goth-level style. Now, the talented lady has gone seriously punk rock, and delivered some stunning back cutouts that you wouldn’t be able to guess at from the front of her gown. Take a look!

Just…WOW. Right? Vogue has the deets on her dress, which is a custom ‘fit from GapStudio by Zac Posen. This might just be the most comfortable looking red carpet gown I’ve seen in ages, and its mottled gray/purple jersey fabric definitely lends credence to that idea. The front is a relatively simple twisted halter, but the back? OMG, the back is, well, to die for. Look at all those cutouts, which are connected by more twisted fabric on her back, and lead to some incredibly strategically placed openings along Ortega’s hip and backside.

I especially love how the cutouts on her hips look like they’ve been ripped, which is a feature of the rest of the gown, as it descends into a long train with more holes and tears and ends with shredded braiding on the ends. Combine all of that with her simple silver jewelry, smeared eye makeup, messy, wet-look hair and perfectly expressionless Wednesday face…I mean, it basically looks like she clawed her way out of a grave, and I love it!

The Wednesday Season 2 party will continue for a bit yet, as Part 2 will be released in short order, on September 3. Not only will Lady Gaga and her still mysterious character be making their debut then, but Gwendoline Christie is back as Principal Weems, which could lead to a big change in the Addams daughter’s relationship with another major character.

If anything, let’s hope this means that we’ll be getting more punky goth looks from Ortega as she continues to show up and show out for her hit spooky series!

After Wednesday first landed on your streaming schedule in November 2022, it took two months for the Netflix series to be renewed for season 2 and three years for it finally to premiere. With the first part of Wednesday’s second season streaming on Netflix now, the creators know how frustrating it is to wait for a new season and why episodes take so long to premiere.

Compared to waiting weekly for a new episode to come out, some streamers throw an entire season of a show out there at once. However, that can mean long waits for new episodes, sometimes years at a time between seasons. We’re already going to have to wait until 2026 for wildly popular shows to hit Netflix like Outer Banks, Bridgerton, One Piece, and Beef.

Fortunately, Wednesday creators Alfred Gough and Miles Millar told Collider that production in the writer’s room is happening now for season 3. Considering how long it took for The Addams Family offshoot to get up and running after Season 1, Millar got real on how frustrating the long wait between seasons could be and why that was the case for Wednesday:

It looks like the waiting game not only applies to streamers but to the creators behind such binge-worthy shows. Shows like Smallville ran on a more predictable network TV timeline with 22 episodes every year on the same network. Based on Miles Millar’s claims, Netflix shows like Wednesday can vary in location settings and get hit with delays like the 2023 WGA Writers Strike. But it’s nice to know the Wednesday creators want to get their show going just as much as the fans.

Because entire seasons of some streaming shows drop at once, there's a lot of pressure to make each episode perfect. Miles Millar continued to talk about how working with a big-scale production like Wednesday is another reason why each season is so time-consuming to make:

There’s no denying that the 2025 Netflix release of Season 2 has a lot of special effects. Between Tim Burton’s signature CGI designs for the creature characters and the practical effects that went into Thing, there’s plenty of creepy and kooky VFX to gaze at. But I never would have guessed 3,500 visual effects shots! No wonder each season has taken a lot of time to come to us. This also proves that TV show demands can be on the same level as a film production.

If each new season of Wednesday continues to take 2+ years, I feel like I’ll be losing my mind. Plus, how long can lead Jenna Ortega pull off looking like a high schooler? On the bright side, Alfred Gough cleared the air about trying to launch a new season sooner instead of later:

As an avid streamer, I understand that pain. The longer it takes for a new season to hit, I honestly forget about important details that happened in the previous seasons. Well, it's a good thing when streaming shows provide recaps before their new season premiere episode.

Playing the waiting game can actually be beneficial for a Netflix show to hit the streamer's Top 10. Imagine all of the subscribers that need to refresh their memory by rewatching each season to get ready for the next! Millar explained going through the same thing himself and the show’s production plan going forward:

Since streaming shows often have shorter seasons compared to a traditional network productions like Smallville, each episode carries more weight in storytelling and production value. Ideally, it's always well worth the wait.

The three-year wait for Wednesday’s season 2 to hit our Netflix subscription has felt long, but with all of the visual effects, location changes, and unexpected delays coming into play, the long break is understandable. Fortunately, you won’t have to wait too long for Part 2, which comes to Netflix on September 3rd.

While not the ratings-crushing global phenomenon that its first season was, Wednesday’s second season is still being watched by millions of viewers who are likely in the same boat wondering where the story will go when Part 2 is finally available to stream via Netflix subscription. The first four episodes went deeper and darker, with new recruit Steve Buscemi’s headmaster no doubt embroiled in illicit activities alongside the rest of Nevermore’s weirdness. But the showrunners point to another character being the ultimate wild card, as it were.

Season 2’s fourth installment not only solved the LOIS mystery and identified the secret Avian, but also capped off with Jenna Ortega’s Wednesday being thrown to her not-quite-death by Hunter Doohan’s hulked-out Hyde after the creature killed Christina Ricci’s Laurel. It was a quite hectic way to set up the back half of the season, although I think I’m a tad more worried about Enid than Tyler’s monster mashing. Still, let’s see what the co-creators are teasing for Part 2's arrival on the 2025 TV schedule.

It sounds like Tyler in Hyde-mode could continue to make for an deadly era for Nevermore and Jericho. Here's how co-showrunner Alfred Gough explained it to EW:

Obviously calling a giant bug-eyed monster a wild card makes sense, seeing as how there isn't a whole lot to compare it to in the real world. But I dare say the discovery of Frances O'Connor's Willow Hill patient makes for a close second, given she's theorized to be playing Tyler's mother. (The dress the character is wearing when she's saved matches up with the one Tyler's mom is wearing in that home video Sheriff Galpin watched.)

In effect, though, Tyler learning he'd been locked in the same place as his mother would indeed have an effect, making Hyde even more of a wild card. Well-played, Gough. Well-played.

Hunter Doohan teased Hyde's newfound freedom somewhat more gleefully, saying the back four episodes are "gonna be so fun" now that his character's inner beast is back "out in the world."

But Hey, What About Enid, Though?

Though no one can know for sure whether or not Hyde's random acts of monstrosity will have a direct impact on Enid's health and well-being, there is the chance that he could be responsible for putting her in the grave Wednesday saw in her vision. Even if another character or event is the case, though, there's 100% still reason to worry, unless it's bizarrely revealed in Episode 5 that Wednesday's prophetic powers are only working with a 25% success rate. The black tears aren't a coincidence, though, which bodes terribly for Emma Myers' sunshine-y werewolf. Here's how she reacted to the premiere's graven reveal:

Surely co-showrunner Miles Millar can shed more optimistic light on this situation, right? Well...

Dangit! Not that I really expected him to soothe any and all worries for her. If I'm being at my most hopeful, I have to think that when Enid's grave marker reveal happens, a non-fatal explanation will be involved. Like, an empty grave and tombstone were prepped to fool someone else into thinking Enid is dead. Or someone at the local tombstone factory (those exist, right?) made a terrible etching error. Or Wednesday was just having a premonition about a dream she would later have about Enid's grave.

There's only one way to find out what the answer is: to watch the episodes. Or to look up spoilers online the day after release. Okay, two, two ways to find out the answer. Ah, ah, ha. Wait, wrong gothic outcast among normies.

Sure to once again be a Top 10 maintstay when the final four episodes hit Netflix's 2025 release schedule, Wednesday Season 2 Part 2 will be available to stream on Wednesday, September 3.

When Part 1 of Wednesday Season 2 came to a close, things weren’t looking good for Jenna Ortega’s titular character. However, with the second half of the season premiering on Netflix’s 2025 schedule on September 3, I knew she wouldn’t be gone for long. That was confirmed in the trailer for Part 2. However, it wasn’t the most shocking reveal. No, no. The most surprising revelation was the fact that Gwendoline Christie’s Principal Weems will be back, too.

So, obviously, I’ve been thinking about the impact the late principal will make, and I’ve developed a theory that it will have something to do with Steve Buscemi’s Principal Dort.

Gwendoline Christie Is Returning As Wednesday’s Spirit Guide

Now, Principal Weems might be back, but I wouldn’t say she’s back from the dead. That’s because in Part 2’s trailer, it’s confirmed that she is Wednesday’s new “spirit guide.” You can see her return in what seems to be the main character's dreams in the video below, and it would appear that these interactions will happen while Wednesday is in the hospital after that fall at the end of Part 1.

It would appear she’s there to support Wednesday (which might haunt her, too), and I assume she’ll help her wake up so she can save Enid from whatever is coming for her.

However, I don’t think that’s the only purpose Principal Weems will serve. I also think Christie’s character could help amplify Wednesday’s relationship with the current principal of Nevermore, Barry Dort.

I Have A Theory About Wednesday’s Relationship With Steve Buscemi’s Principal Dort Being Impacted By Weems' Return

One of my primary questions coming out of Wednesday’s first season had to do with who would take over for Principal Weems. However, we quickly learned that Steve Buscemi had joined the Wednesday cast to play the new headmaster of Nevermore Academy. We then got to know him in the first half of Season 2, and it became abundantly clear that he was like Weems' antithesis.

He’s the polar opposite of her in a lot of ways, but specifically when it comes to overall vibes, and their juxtaposition feels too fun not to explore in the second half of the season.

Therefore, with Principal Weems being Wednesday’s spirit guide, I have a feeling Dort will become a bigger part of our lead character’s story, too. Could Weems help reveal that Dort is part of the big evil plan? Could she coax Wednesday to get his help? The options are endless; however, I do think Christie’s character being present will bring Ortega’s student closer to the new principal.

Personally, I think this connection will highlight and emphasize the living principal’s role in whatever is going on at Nevermore. I have a feeling he’s up to more than just keeping kids in line, and I think Wednesday’s connection with Weems could help bring his true intentions to life.

Despite only having 2 seasons so far, Wednesday has quickly become one of the best Netflix shows to binge watch. The first half of the second season has been released for those with a Netflix subscription, and I think it's a big improvement over the first. Season 2 has featured way more of the other members of the Addams family, and I think that's exactly what it needed to become even more popular.

After a long wait, Wednesday Season 2 has arrived on Netflix. At least, the first batch of episodes. A number of changes have been made for its sophomore outing, including an emphasis on horror. By far my favorite, though, is seeing more of the rest of the Addams family, as Catherine Zeta-Jones, Luis Guzmán, and Isaac Ordonez are all series regulars as Moriticia, Gomez, and Pugsley, respectively.

Wednesday Is Better With More Addams Family Members

While members of the larger family popped in throughout Season 1 (including Fred Armisen's Uncle Fester), the title character was the main focus of Wednesday when it debuted on Netflix. We got to meet the denizens of Nevermore Academy, with the rest of the iconic family serving as guest stars.

Clearly, the first season was a huge success, but I think including Morticia, Pugsley, and Gomez in every episode of Season 2 is a great way to appeal to longtime fans of the IP and older subscribers. After all, Jenna Ortega's protagonist isn't the only twisted and gothic member of the family to enjoy.

While it remains to be seen if/when Wednesday gets spinoffs, putting the family in the spot light would definitely help increase fan excitement about what's coming next. Given how strained her relationship is, especially with Morticia, it also adds new emotional stakes to the series.

Another cast member that got a raise in Season 2 is Thing actor Victor Dorobantu, and that mute scene-stealer also seems to be having more of a storyline in the new episodes. I love anytime Thing is onscreen, so the fact that he's also getting more screen time is a serious plus for the new season.

As previously mentioned, Wednesday Season 2 is being split in half. While the first four episodes arrived on August 6, we're going to have to be patient before the final four are released in early September. There are some major questions hanging in the air, including Lady Gaga's mysterious role. Could she actually be a member of the Addams family as well? Only time will tell, but folks are invested.

Wednesday is streaming now on Netflix, and the second half of Season 2 will arrive on September 3 as part of the 2025 TV release schedule. I can't wait to see the Addams family back on my screen.

Whenever I watch Wednesday, I always think about how much fun it must be for the cast and crew to shoot. From seeing behind the scenes about how The Thing is filmed to there being more horror this season on these practical sets in the 2025 TV schedule, it just looks like everyone involved likes being in Nevermore to tell this Addams Family spinoff story. Jenna Ortega spilled on one “funny” insult that she couldn’t quit laughing over while shooting Season 2.

In a TikTok from Marie Claire Australia, Jenna Ortega was asked about her favorite roast while playing Wednesday Addams. In her words:

While Hunter Doohan’s Tyler Galpin looked to be set up as Wednesday’s love interest in Season 1 of the Netflix hit series, by the end of the series we found out the character had been the mysterious Hyde the whole time. That being said, she tells Tyler the insult at such a particularly bad time. As she said:

Hey, Wednesday isn’t necessarily known for her bedside manner. Even so, Ortega laughed while recalling the hilarious moment on set that she was expected to say with a straight face, and she ultimately does in the Season 2 episode when she reunites with a jailed Tyler. She also continued to explain:

He’s also far from unattractive in real life, so the actress found the line hard to get out. The scene occurs after Wednesday finds Tyler’s dad, Sheriff Galpin, dead in his home after the mysterious killer (at the time) pays him a visit. Just moments after Tyler learns of his father’s untimely passing, Wednesday is out here with this “generic looking” insult. Ortega shared it was even funnier (and perhaps a bit of an ironic line) given Doohan is all abs, shirtless, and chained up, which clearly will have a lot of viewers swooning when streaming the scene.

It’s just one of the many insults on Wednesday, but it’s fun to see what Jenna Ortega would name her favorite. The actress is an executive producer this season, so perhaps she got to add some of her own? Recently, she said she has a lot of “trust” in the writers to give her the goods. I cannot wait to see what insults are next when Wednesday Season 2 continues for those with a Netflix subscription on September 3.

I think Wednesday is one of the best shows you can watch with your Netflix subscription right now, so when Season 2 was among 2025 TV premieres early this month, I was ready on day one to get back to Nevermore Academy with Jenna Ortega’s Wednesday Addams. While watching the first four episodes, I became quickly invested in the new mystery (that has already led me to a theory about Lady Gaga’s upcoming debut). But, I’m pretty annoyed that the series decided to spoil one development before Part 2 comes out on September 3, and for more than one reason.

It Was Revealed That Principal Weems Is Back In Season 2

Shortly after finishing Part 1, I came across the official trailer for Wednesday Season 2 Part 2 on YouTube not knowing it would include a major spoiler. But, chances are I’d see it anyway considering it was also splashed all over social media. The spoiler I’m talking about is the return of Gwendoline Christie’s Principal Weems, who died last season.

While I’m very much excited that the actress has returned for Season 2, and Ortega has since said the show made a “terrible mistake” in the first place in killing her off. How great of a surprise, though, would that have been to experience this reveal when we watch the show on the premiere date in just a couple of weeks? I’m bummed the trailer spoils the fun jump scare of Wednesday waking up to Weems in a nurse costume explaining to her that she’s her new spirit guide!

Why The Return Of Weems Doesn’t Make Sense To Me

Speaking of Weems being her new spirit guide, that brings me to the other problem I have with this reveal. Aren’t the spirit guides supposed to be from the same bloodline? Last time I checked, Principal Weems is not part of the Addams family, so this plot point honestly doesn’t make any sense, aside from the show itself wanting to bring back the character.

I had wished that Ophelia might be the spirit guide (if she’s dead), but I think many signs point to her being alive. I also like the idea of Wednesday meeting other members of her ancestry through these spirit guides, but here we are getting Weems instead. I think it also kind of undercuts the work Steve Buscemi is doing as the new principal, who I’m very suspicious of and want to see play as big of a role in Part 2 as we did in Part 1.

All in all, I’m sure I’ll find enjoyment out of the return of Principal Weems, and I imagine that there are a lot more surprises on the way we know nothing about, I just don’t think Wednesday needed to give this away. They are already doing excellent marketing otherwise, and I’m really digging them splitting up the season, actually. It just didn’t feel like we needed to have this present opened before we dive into Part 2.

Those with a Netflix subscription are treated to a ton of new content, but a few titles stand out as fan favorites. Wednesday is in that category, and is definitely one of the best Netflix shows to binge right now. Throughout both of its seasons I've wondered how Thing's footage is shot, and a fun BTS video has shown exactly how this beloved member of The Addams Family is brought to life.

Wednesday Season 2 has brought back its beloved cast of characters, and Thing is once again directly involved in the title character's adventures. I love seeing the way he communicates without dialogue, as well as the way the dismembered hand gets around. Actor Victor Dorobantu is the one bringing Thing to life on set, and posted an Instagram video showing him at work. Check it out below:

I mean, how cool is that? I love seeing how much physicality Dorobantu brings while animating his hand for Thing. It's actually a full-body experience, with the actor using a variety of angles in order to properly bring the character to life. And he does it all covered in a blue suit, which is digitally removed in post-production via visual effects. Thing is a serious scene-stealer in Wednesday, so these efforts really pay off in the end.

Wednesday Season 2 has had some big changes, including more of a focus on other members of The Addams Family. Thing is also going through his own existential crisis in the new batch of episodes, and has formed a stronger bond with Astrid. We'll just have to wait and see how this plot plays out when the second batch of episodes hits Netflix on September 3rd.

Victor Dorobantu's skills are on full display in the above video, which shows just how strenuous he works to get his hand in the right positions for Wednesday. Even when Thing is simply standing up that means the rest of his arm needs to be properly angled to put the wrist straight up. Seriously, this guy deserves all the respect for the way he brings this scene-stealing character to life on the Netflix series.

Wednesday Season 2 took nearly three years to finally hit Netflix, so the pressure was on for it to deliver for the fans who had waited so patiently. We got way more horror in Season 2, but the fact that the season was broken into to halves is frustrating some fans. Personally I don't' mind it, as it stops me from binge-watching it so quickly that I barely remember what happened by the time the season ends.

The first half of Wednesday Season 2 is out now and the second half will arrive September 3rd on Netflix as part of the 2025 TV schedule. And I bet Thing is going to continue stealing the show.

The first season of Wednesday was an absolutely massive hit for Netflix, and it became the sort of show that fans were obsessed with for months after it aired. Pop culture’s current obsession is something quite different, as it's presently obsessed with a plush toy called a Labubu, but now both things have come together in a quite hilarious way.

A Wednesday Season 2 event was recently held in Australia, which included several major members of the crew and cast of Wednesday, including star Jenna Ortega and supporting cast member Gwendoline Christie. The two ended up getting pictures next to each other, which has the internet laughing over their extreme height difference, with one viral tweet from @LucaGuadagnegro remarking that Ortega looks like Christie’s Labubu:

It is, to be fair, an absolutely stark contrast in heights. A quick search tells me that Jenna Ortega is 5’1”, making her one of the few adult humans on earth that I would be taller than, and certainly putting her in the category of people we call “short.” On the flip side, Gwendoline Christie, known for being tall, is an impressive 6’3”. It’s rare to see two adults with more than a full foot of height difference between them, and Ortega does sort of look like an accessory here.

Of course, honestly, the same could be said for everybody else at the Wednesday event. When looking at the full group she’s standing with you, you see that Christie absolutely towers over everybody:

That said, I’m not sure calling Ortega a Labubu is fair. If for no other reason than that, while I’m no expert, the Labubus I’m familiar with tend to have smiles, oddly creepy ones that make it look like they’re about to go for your jugular, on their face. Ortega appears less than thrilled in this picture. Though perhaps she's just remaining in character as the perpetually unenthusiastic Wednesday.

Labubus have become something of the “it” fashion accessory of the day, and so Gwendoline Christie, looking absolutely fabulous in this picture, honestly looks like she needs one.

Speaking of the Game of Thrones actress and her work on this Netflix hit, we weren't sure if we'd actually see Gwendoline Christie in Wednesday Season 2. The character died in Season 1, but even the creators realized killing her off was a mistake.

But wait a minute, this is actually a brilliant cross-promotional opportunity. Netflix needs to get the Labubu people on the phone and license a line of Wednesday Labubus. Gwendoline Christie was one of the best members of the cast of Wednesday during Season 1. While she already blew me away with her work in Game of Thrones, Christie crushes her role as Principal Weems. The character exudes a classy charm and sense of complexity that conveys Christie's wide range of skills as an actor. Despite Weems' death, the character is now set to return for Season 2, and Jenna Ortega just recalled one way she and the writers initially thought about reviving the character.

Jenna Ortega has never shied away from discussing the creative choices made for Wednesday. In fact, she made headlines when she got real about some aspects of the show making “no sense” to her. (Ortega had long wanted to up the horror elements and dial down the romance.) Just recently, the Emmy nominee admitted during an interview with AIChark (which was shared to TikTok) that the show made a “terrible mistake” by killing off Principal Weems. With that, Ortega revealed she formulated an idea to bring Weems back, and it involved shapeshifting:

I feel like the writers made the right call in going with the spirit guide character plot, which was just recently revealed. I think having all shapeshifters appear as Weems in “their natural form” would be too complicated. Having Christie's character return as a spirit guide for Wednesday Addams is perfect since the Nevermore Head of Staff tried to help the show's titular character during her time at the Academy. Weems even tried tried to help the teen in the end, the notion of having her return in this form certainly tracks.

If Wednesday Season 2 -- which is part of 2025 Netflix's 2025 releases -- were like the more traditional Addams Family movies and TV shows Principal Weems might not be reappearing. Those past productions featured death in relatively definitive ways, so Weems' poisoning would've been the end. The concepts that have been explored in the Jenna Ortega-led spinoff series, however, allow for Weems to come back into the fold. And Ortega is thrilled about that:

I jumped for joy seeing Wednesday’s Season 2, Part 2 trailer, which revealed Weems' return. She and Addams have an interesting dynamic and, while they don't always see eye to eye, it works. There's also a sense of mutual respect between the two. With the supernatural series being split into two parts, this next set of episodes may place great emphasis on the relationship between Ortega's character and her new spirit guide.

As a fan, I'm so glad Weems is not only returning but doing so in a fun-looking capacity. Considering how happy Gwendoline Christie was when Wednesday was renewed, it wouldn't surprise me at all if she’s thrilled she gets to continue playing her imposing character. It was Christie's stunning turn (complete with Alfred Hitchcock influences) that made her such a standout in the first season. Watch Christie and Jenna Ortega on screen together again when the second part of their show's second season becomes available for Netflix subscription holders on September 3rd.

We already knew that Season 2 of Wednesday would be different, with the Addams Family member not focusing on romance. However, her roommate, Enid, has sure gotten lucky in love at Nevermore Academy with two love interests. That said, kissing scenes on the Netflix series weren’t always romantic as they may have looked, with actress Emma Myers explaining the details of her “snotty” kiss on the series. I’ve gotta say, it sounds grody.

It may have let fans down that Season 2 of Wednesday won’t have Enid get together romantically with the title character. On the other hand, our favorite bubbly werewolf caught the eye of two Nevermore students throughout the streaming series. As for the actress who portrayed Enid, Emma Myers told Seventeen this about a Season 1 scene when naming the worst on-screen kiss she'd ever had:

That’s definitely one of the most cringeworthy behind-the-scenes fun facts I’ve ever heard. I already get nauseous seeing snot. The idea of two people kissing with snot going into each other’s mouths is an experience no one would want to live through. But fortunately, when you rewatch the kiss scene, you’d never know any mucus came into play.

Enid’s journey in the 2025 Netflix release of Wednesday’s second season shows the character going through a lot. After learning that she can wolf out like the clan she was born into, we find out in the first episode of Season 2 that Enid and Ajax, played by Georgie Farmer, broke up. Her reasoning was feeling like she had found herself after delving more into her wolf side. Enid’s new boyfriend is Bruno, who also wolfed out late and understands her in ways that Ajax couldn’t. We see clearly that Enid is a teenager who knows what she wants and isn’t afraid to go for it.

After finishing Part 1 of Wednesday's second season in one day, it really is one of the best shows to binge on Netflix right now. With its newfound emphasis on horror and its introduction of new characters like Grandmama and Agnes Demille, I’m loving the supernatural fantasy series being darker and more layered.

While we see Enid’s new relationship and her life being threatened after Wednesday has a premonition of her impending death, I’m hoping Emma Myers' wish comes true of Enid and her pal teaming up more in Season 2. The duo may be yin-and-yang, but that’s what makes them so special.

After Emma Myers had a “snotty” kiss with Georgie Farmer in season 1, I’d like to hope her future kisses won’t be in the freezing cold and that they’ll instead be hotter throughout the series. Ever since Lady Gaga was cast in Wednesday, I’ve been looking forward to seeing the iconic pop goddess enter the gothic world of the Addams Family, because it just makes sense. But, there’s long been a question about where exactly the singer and Oscar winner will fit into the series. Well, after watching the first half of the season, I have a theory!

My Theory About Who Lady Gaga Could Play In Wednesday

So, we already knew going into Part 1 that Lady Gaga wouldn’t be showing up just yet. Back in May, Netflix did reveal her character name “Rosaline Rotwood,” along with saying Rotwood is “a legendary Nevermore teacher who crosses paths with Wednesday.” However, at the same time, Jenna Ortega told Entertainment Tonight more recently that she doesn’t think “she’s what people expect her to be.”

In my opinion, character names don’t really matter much, especially when you look at Christina Ricci’s character last season. She played a botany teacher named Marilyn Thornhill before Wednesday later discovered she was actually Laurel Gates. I think while Gaga may initially present as Rosaline, she’ll actually be her aunt Ophelia, who has been missing for roughly 20 years.

While some might think she’d play someone inherently musical – I think of Lady Gaga as an actress just as much as a musician these days, and I would think if she’s going to work with Tim Burton and Ortega, she’s not going to have a cameo, it’s got to be something juicy, and this role is the juiciest I can think of for her.

What We We Know About Ophelia So Far

There’s no doubt to me that Morticia’s sister and Wednesday’s aunt Ophelia is a major key to the mystery of Season 2. The character has been mentioned on many occasions throughout this season, and holds a very important connection to Wednesday, because she also abused her psychic powers and dealt with the black tears before being sent to Willow Hill.

The story goes that Uncle Fester broke in to check in on Ophelia while she was there, but one day she suddenly vanished from the facility. Given what we just learned about LOIS program taking place at Willow Hill and all the patients there recently escaping, it definitely feels like Ophelia could be a major part of the story. And, I honestly cannot think of a better way to bring Lady Gaga into the fold for the second half of the season than making her Wednesday’s long lost aunt.

In the trailer for Season 2, Part 2 (which just dropped on YouTube on Thursday), there’s a scene being teased with Morticia, Wednesday and Granny all sitting at a table, perhaps doing a seance or trying to use their psychic powers. I can see them all coming together to try to find Ophelia specifically, and I’m convinced, whether she’s living or dead, it will be Gaga in the role.

The streaming wars have been in full effect for years, and those with a Netflix subscription have been treated to a number of popular shows. Wednesday and Stranger Things are some of the best Netflix shows to binge, and they're both embracing a new release schedule. Namely, splitting up its seasons into blocks. While some folks might hate it, I totally love this way of watching the shows.

What we know about Stranger Things 5 is limited, but the final entry of episodes will be released in three different blocks, rather than all at once. The same can also be said for Wednesday Season 2, half of which is out now and the other half will arrive September 3rd. There are a few reasons why I prefer this over getting the whole thing at once.

Slowing down the release results in water cooler talk.

Since Stranger Things and Wednesday are so popular, that means there's a ton of folks watching as new episodes drop on Netflix. While binge-watching is a solitary pastime, releasing batches of episodes allows fans to take in the story at a uniform pace. That makes it feel like more of a community-driven experience.

Water cooler television is typically associated with weekly releases, and it's something that seems to be diminishing since the streaming age. I'm not saying binge-watching is ruining TV, but I love being able to talk with friends and fellow fans about what's happening in my shows. So splitting up new seasons for Netflix juggernauts like Wednesday works for me.

Splitting seasons also helps me really enjoy it.

I have to admit, when Stranger Things Season 4 began splitting up the season, I had my doubts. But while it was hard to wait in the month that passed between parts one and two, it allowed the first seven episodes to really have their time and emotional impact. When the final two were finally released, the rest of the fans and I were especially hyped to see how The Duffer Brothers were wrapping up the story.

Stranger Things 5's release schedule is further complicated, as it'll be in three parts across two full months. While this has garnered some eye rolls from fans, I think it'll allow me to enjoy the final batch of this beloved series.

Wednesday Season 2 was a long time coming, and fans were treated to the first four episodes on August 6th. The season is being split literally in half, with the latter four arriving next month. Only time will tell how this affects the overall storytelling, but I'm totally down for this particular release schedule... even if that's a hot take.

Now that Wednesday Season 2, Part 1 is out, we finally get to return to Nevermore Academy. People, including myself, are enjoying the horror-infused follow-up as well as the rest of the Addams Family having more screen time. However, it's impossible to deny how much has changed between Season 1's 2022 premiere and Season 2's release on Netflix's 2025 schedule. That fact was highlighted too, as Netflix posted side-by-side images of Jenna Ortega (Wednesday) and Isaac Ordonez (Pugsley) that showcase just how much they've literally grown up.

The side-by-side image comes from Netflix Nordic’s Instagram, and it highlights a handful of differences for both Pugsley and Wednesday. While both have different-ish hairstyles (Wednesday's bangs have a starker silhouette, for example) and lost kid-like features in their face, Ordonez’s growth spurt is the most undeniable change. Especially when posed next to the 2022 still, it's abundantly obvious he’s grown at least a couple of inches. Check it out:

The comparison is jaw-dropping, but Isaac Ordonez was just around 13 during Season 1, and he’s now 16. So, the dramatic growth spurt makes sense. He honestly almost looks like two different actors as he is so much shorter than Ortega in one and towers over her in the other. As is the case for many series that feature a young cast (like Percy Jackson), it's always a bit shocking when teenage actors return for more work and have grown up.

Naturally, the three-year gap between seasons wasn’t lost on many like me. Commenters were all over Ordonez’s transformation and had some creative takes that aligned with the iconic family. Some were a bit sentimental, while others were more Wednesday-coded. Take a look for yourself:

Many were quick to comment on the timeframe, along with the tween to teen’s looks, noting that it was hard to imagine such a dramatic growth spurt over one summer. However, many were sweet about the Netflix series' return after three years.

Ordonez wasn’t the only one to change. The Beetlejuice Beetlejuice star grew up, too, even if it wasn’t as apparent onscreen. Jenna Ortega's fashion premiere looks have been the real tell that she’s entering young adulthood. She’s no longer the Season 1 Wednesday dancing her heart out, but she is still having fun running alongside the chaos.

With the changes known, these actors, and specifically Ordonez, now join ranks with a slew of young stars who’ve aged faster than their characters. This happening, of course, is nothing new in the age of streaming. And one of the most famous instances is in regard to the Netflix original Stranger Things and its cast aging. Now, it’ll be interesting to see how much Wednesday we’ll get and how much Jenna Ortega and Isaac Ordonez may change during the course of it.

Wednesday Season 2 Executes ‘Perfect Advertising’ Scheme

The second season of Jenna Ortega’s Addams Family-based series hit the 2025 TV schedule earlier this month and can currently be streamed with a Netflix subscription. If you haven’t tuned in for the latest adventures at Nevermore Academy, however, the streamer is doing big things to pique your interest. Check out the billboards that one fan posted to Instagram:

The only thing not perfect about this setup is the potential for drivers to get distracted by the brilliance and not keep their focus on the road. But then again, Wednesday sure would love to cause a crash, wouldn’t she? So maybe even that aspect is perfect. Fans showed their love for the campaign in the comments, writing:

The Naked Gun Had Its Own Goofy Promos

I’d say the Wednesday billboards are more surprising than The Naked Gun promos, because anyone who’s seen the WTF original movie from 1988 knows the high level of silliness the sequel was going for. Along with making a deep-cut reference with its Beaver Bucket for popcorn, the marketing for the movie starring Liam Neeson and Pamela Anderson included ironic billboards that read:

Yes, it’s ridiculous, and it’s just that kind of ridiculousness that earned The Naked Gun a 4-star review from CinemaBlend.

With Wednesday leaning more into the horror genre for its second season — and with the series already considered one of the best shows to binge on Netflix — I’d say hopes are pretty high for Season 2.

As Jenna Ortega’s Wednesday Addams has returned, thanks to Season 2 being part of the 2025 TV schedule, it’s worth talking about how and why the character has continued to be so beloved since The Addams Family got its start as a comic book strip in the ‘30s. Among the reasons fans love the character is for how she’s an outsider who embraces herself despite living in a world where her behavior is often not accepted. It’s no wonder she’s thought of as a queer icon.

And when Season 1 of Wednesday came out, LGBTQ+ fans started getting behind the idea of Wednesday Addams and her roommate Enid Sinclair (played by Emma Myers) perhaps starting a friendship that could blossom into romance. However, the ship known as “Wenclair” has just been shot down by its show creators Alfred Gough and Miles Millar. As Gough told Decider:

In the first season of Wednesday, its titular character had a couple of male love interests in Percy Hynes White’s Xavier and Hunter Doohan’s Tyler, but they weren’t really entertained much by Jenna Ortega’s character. Wednesday and Tyler end up going on a couple of dates and ultimately sharing a kiss, but once they lock lips, she immediately learns that she’s being courted by a murderous monster called a Hyde.

In terms of Xavier, which Season 1 seemed to leave open-ended for them, the actor was written off the show after sexual misconduct allegations.

As the series creators clarified in the new interview, their intentions are apparently strictly “friendship” when it comes to Wednesday and Enid. The two young women become roommates in the first season, and they have a sweet storyline about becoming friends despite being opposites. As Millar also added:

The internet has been flooded with posts loving Wednesday and Enid since the series came out, but these new comments will certainly be a disappointment for LGBTQ+ fans who were rooting for the relationship to be a romance.

Of course, there’s been a lot of character pairings of this nature in the past, from Finn and Poe in Star Wars to Steve and Bucky in the MCU to Betty and Veronica in Riverdale. For now, it sounds like Wenclair will have to remain the subject of fan art, fanfics and such.

Wednesday Season 2 has finally premiered on the 2025 Netflix schedule after a nearly two-and-a-half-year-long wait. So, with new mysteries come new storylines, and that includes a big one for Morticia and Gomez. And this season features a particular tribute to The Addams Family Values in an iconic couple scene between them, and I was just absolutely in love with how well it was done.

As someone who grew up with the Addams Family, Wednesday became one of the most bingeable shows on Netflix for me, but I always wanted so much more from her parents, Morticia and Gomez. Now, in Season 2, they have a much bigger part to play, and as a perk of my job, I had the chance to ask the creators of the series, Alfred Gough and Miles Millar, what it was like to bring their love story to the forefront this time around. Their instant answer? It was so much fun, as Gough explained:

Miles Millar continued to explain this idea, saying that because of the love they have for each other and how they deal with their problems, it still makes them a couple to look up to, even through all their weirdness and how different they look:

But of course, there's the tribute that we see when Luis Guzmán and Catherine Zeta-Jones do the famous tango scene that Anjelica Huston and Raul Julia did back in The Addams Family Values. That's right, I'm talking about the one that you see everywhere where we see Gomez kiss up Morticia's arm, and they are just absolutely in love. They did that in Wednesday Season 2, too!

As a fan of the two characters, of course, I had to ask about the tribute and how they brought it to life, and the creators said it felt like their own because both Guzman and Zeta-Jones really made it "their own," as Millar said:

The idea of Luis Guzmán taking dance classes in order to keep up with Zeta-Jones is something that I didn't know I needed, but it is literally everything.

Wednesday Season 2 has made a lot of changes. The Wednesday cast has increased, and there's been a lot more horror added to the series as a whole. So to have this moment, where it really does feel like an everlasting love tribute to these two characters that I love so much, made it that much better.

While I don't think anything can quite beat the Huston and Julia tango from The Addams Family Values cast, this scene really captured the love of Gomez and Morticia. And I really hope that as the series goes on, we see so much more of these two, because we all need some overwhelming, blinding, and adoring type of love on our television.
