Dominic Purcell and Wentworth Miller have been linked in many minds ever since Prison Break premiered back in 2005 with the duo playing brothers. They later teamed up again for The CW's Arrowverse as best friends/bad guys on The Flash and Legends of Tomorrow. Now, the pair has landed their new joint project, which is great but also stressful news, considering what the show is going to be about!

The two actors are leads in a new TV project called Snatchback that is currently in development for Universal Television, according to Variety. If ordered to series, Snatchback will follow the journey of a team of highly skilled and privately contracted operatives with the mission of rescuing hostages from all over the world. The plot is inspired by the life of a real-life covert intelligence officer said to be still active in the field today, which certainly sounds like proof of authenticity for the stories! The rescues will involve missions in "some of the most exotic, and equally dangerous locations on the planet."

And if working on Snatchback involves traveling to those locations, I can't blame anybody for wanting to join, even if the plot sounds stressful! Dominic Purcell and Wentworth Miller went through their share of intensity as Lincoln Burrows and Michael Scofield in the original run of Prison Break as well as the 2017 revival for a fifth season. Miller shared at the time that reconnecting on The Flash motivated them to want to come back to Prison Break, and there were previously rumors that the revival would continue for a sixth season.

Prison Break of course did not get a second revival season, and the Arrowverse is effectively over as of the end of The Flash in 2023. The former on-screen brothers are able to reunite yet again thanks to the new project. Dominic Purcell is also an executive producer for Snatchback. Scott Rosenbaum is attached to the project as a writer, and he brings plenty of TV experience of his own, including work as writer/executive producer on The Shield, Chuck, and Queen of the South, to name just a few.

Neither of the two stars have publicly commented on Snatchback at the time of writing, but executive producer Tish Cyrus-Purcell – who is also married to Dominic Purcell – said in a statement:

While there is no shortage of action-packed crime dramas set for the 2024 TV schedule, Snatchback seems to have found a unique corner of the market with its basis on a real-life private hostage recovery team and missions across the globe. It remains to be seen if the project does score a series order, and where it ends up if so. It sounds like a better fit for a streaming service to me, but it would be fun to get the two stars back together on network TV.

The month of April is Autism Awareness Month/World Autism Month, and it’s a time to celebrate and empower those on the spectrum while also educating others about it. It also highlights those who have made a positive impact on the community. In the entertainment industry specifically, many actors have spoken about their diagnosis to help make discussions about autism more mainstream. This includes performers like Anthony Hopkins, Bella Ramsey and more, as many actors have opened up about how being on the spectrum has impacted their personal and professional lives.

Bella Ramsey

Bella Ramsey, who got their start acting on Game of Thrones when they were 11, was diagnosed with autism while filming the first season of The Last of Us. While speaking with British Vogue, the actor explained that a crew member who has an autistic daughter had assumed Ramsey was also on the spectrum. That led to them seeking out a professional and a diagnosis, confirming something they had “always wondered” about.

While opening up about this diagnosis, Ramsey explained that they’ve become a better actor because of it, as they explained:

Overall, they see this diagnosis as “freeing.” Elaborating more about why, Ramsey said:

Overall, the Catherine Called Birdy star was very candid about how this diagnosis has impacted their life and career and was clear that it’s been helpful in many, many ways.

Anthony Hopkins 

About 18 years ago, Anthony Hopkins was diagnosed with high-end Asperger's syndrome, The Daily Mail reported. The actor, who has two Oscars and over 140 films to his name, spoke about this neurological condition that impacts his ability to socially interact. He spoke specifically about how it’s helped him as an actor, saying:

According to Autism Speaks, the strengths of having Asperger's syndrome include “remarkable focus and persistence” and “attention to detail.” This ability to figure out what makes a person tick has helped the Silence of the Lambs star throughout his career. Just looking at Anthony Hopkins’ best movies, you know we are living among a legend.

Daryl Hannah 

Daryl Hannah was diagnosed with autism when she was a young child, according to People. In a candid interview, the actress explained that she had “debilitating shyness,” and growing up and living with autism during a time when it wasn’t understood well was difficult. The Splash star went on to explain that she found peace in watching old movies, saying:

She went on to say that once she found success, autism complicated her career. The Wall Street actress said that she wouldn’t do talk show appearances or premieres because she “was terrified.” As her career went on, Hannah said she figured out how to be comfortable in her own skin, and said she wished she could teach her younger self about everything she’s learned.

Rick Glassman

Amazon’s series, As We See It, made it a priority to “authentically” explore a cast of characters on the autism spectrum. The three leads of the series are on the spectrum, and one of those stars, Rick Glassman, opened up to CinemaBlend about how his own experience with autism impacted his character on the show. He said:

Since Glassman was able to pull from his real life and his experience living on the spectrum, he took a lot of pride in his character and the show

Wentworth Miller

Wentworth Miller, who is best known for his work on Prison Break and Legends of Tomorrow, posted a candid message about his autism diagnosis, which he received in 2021. The beloved TV actor wrote:

He then continued his message, noting that he was working to evolve his understanding of autism. Miller also explained that he would be “re-examining 5 decades of lived experience thru a new lens.” The Legends of Tomorrow veteran ended his post saying:

Along with teaching himself about his diagnosis, Miller also made it clear he was an advocate for the community, and he wanted to learn as much as he could.

Dan Aykroyd

One of the greatest stars to grace Saturday Night Live’s stage has also spoken about living with Asperger's syndrome. Dan Aykroyd opened up about being diagnosed with Tourette’s at a young age, and then Asperger syndrome as an adult. The Ghostbusters star told The Daily Mail:

According to Autism Speaks, Asperger's syndrome generally involves "restricted interests" and "distinctive strengths," it’s clear that Aykroyd was able to use both of these and his legendary comedic skills, to create one of the greatest comedies of all time.

Kayla Cromer

Kayla Cromer, who starred in the series Everything’s Gonna Be Okay, has been very open about how much she’s loved seeing more representation of the autism community on screen. As an actress who was diagnosed with Asperger’s, she told People:

In the article, it explains that Cromer is the first actress to play a woman on the spectrum, and be a woman on the spectrum herself. To watch her performance, Everything’s Gonna Be Okay is available with a Hulu subscription.

These are only seven of the many famous actors and artists who have spoken about being on the autism spectrum. Overall, we’ve seen an influx of representation for this community in recent years, but as Cromer put it, “there are still so many stories that need to be told.”

A TV series reaching its 100th episode is definitely a milestone worth celebrating, though how that’s done obviously depends on what you’re watching. For Legends of Tomorrow, it’s celebrating this accomplishment by bringing in many former cast members. We learned last week that Wentworth Miller will reprise Leonard Snart/Captain Cold for the 100th episode, i.e. Season 7’s third episode, and now six other familiar faces have been unveiled.

Along with Wentworth Miller and Legends of Tomorrow Season 7’s main cast, the series’ 100 episode will also feature the return of Arthur Darvill’s Rip Hunter, Victor Garber’s Martin Stein, Franz Drameh’s Jefferson Jackson (who made up Firestorm with Stein), Falk Hentschel’s Carter Hall/Hawkman, Brandon Routh’s Ray Palmer/The Atom and Courtney Ford’s Nora Darhk. Take a look at everyone back together on the Waverider set below:

For those of you who haven’t learned yet what Legends of Tomorrow’s 100th episode holds in store, Season 7 sees the Waverider’s AI Gideon becoming human, with the character’s voice actor, Amy Louise Pemberton, also portraying her in flesh and blood form. However, in this particular episode, Gideon has a meltdown, and to reboot her, Olivia Swann’s Astra Logue and Lisseth Chavez’s Spooner Cruz delve into Gideon’s memories to help her remember the Legends. During their mental journey, Astra and Spooner will witness unseen moments from Legends of Tomorrow past, hence the presence of these former crew members.

You’ll notice that with the exception of Brandon Routh and Courtney Ford, all the former Legends of Tomorrow cast members who are returning for the 100th episode exited in Seasons 1, 2 or 3, before the show really leaned into its present-day comedic sensibilities. As co-showrunner Keto Shimizu informed EW, this milestone episode served as a way for these actors who departed years ago to enjoy Legends of Tomorrow’s “wild and playful tone” that wasn’t as strong in those earlier seasons, saying:

Bringing together so many people for Legends of Tomorrow’s 100th episode certainly wasn’t easy, especially since the show shoots in Vancouver, Canada, and international visitors have to quarantine for two weeks upon entering the country. As such, co-showrunner Phil Klemmer revealed that they did “cast first and wrote second,” since who would be available would dictate what Gideon’s memories would be. After getting as much of Season 7’s third episode “on the board” as possible ahead of casting, Klemmer and the writing team moved to hashing out this season’s fourth episode. Once that was done, the returning actors for the 100th episode had been nailed down, allowing the writers to finish the story.

Phil Klemmer also mentioned how they would’ve “loved” to get people like Ciara Renée’s Hawkgirl, Dominic Purcell’s Heat Wave and Casper Crump’s Vandal Savage back for Legends of Tomorrow’s 100th episode, but this is still an impressive lineup that’s been assembled. While Purcell exited as a series regular at the end of Season 6, it’s been indicated he’ll recur during Season 7, so presumably Legends of Tomorrow fans don’t have to worry about this season being entirely Heat Wave-less. And sure, it would nice to see other familiar faces, like Maisie Richardson-Sellers and Keiyan Lonsdale, but seven former cast members alongside Season 7’s main cast is nothing to scoff at. From what’s been revealed so far, the 100th episode is shaping up to be something special, even by this show’s standards.

With Legends of Tomorrow Season 7 just one week away from premiering (not too long after Season 6 concluded), Caity Lotz, who plays Sara Lance, is the only cast member left on the show who’s been around since the beginning. As the years have passed, many Waverider crew members have either departed on their own accord or died in battle. One of the people in the latter group is Wentworth Miller’s Leonard Snart, a.k.a. Captain Cold, but word’s come in that we’ll be reuniting with him in Legends of Tomorrow’s 100th episode.

Now before any of you get too excited, no, Leonard Snart is not being resurrected. Instead, Legends of Tomorrow’s 100th episode, which is being directed by Caity Lotz, will revisit key moments from the series through Gideon, the Waverider’s AI, who’s played Amy Louise Pemberton and will star in Season 7 full time in human form. So Snart will be part of this trip down memory lane, and here’s what Legends of Tomorrow executive producer Phil Klemmer had to say about this premise to TV Line:

Phil Klemmer added that they wanted the “newest generation of Legends,” like Astra and Spooner, to “meet up with some of the original gang.” So count on some other “special guest stars” to pop up alongside Leonard Snart in Legends of Tomorrow’s milestone episode. The 100th episode, titled "WVRDR_ERROR_100 notFound,” is set to be Season 7’s third episode in the lineup, following "The Bullet Blondes" and "The Need for Speed.”

After serving as a recurring villain/anti-hero in The Flash Season 1 and the first chunk of Season 2, Leonard Snart made the jump to Legends of Tomorrow with his partner-in-crime Mick Rory, a.k.a. Heatwave. As Season 1 progressed, Leonard evolved into a more heroic character, and in the season’s penultimate episode, he sacrificed his life to blow up the Time Masters, who were allied with Vandal Savage. When Legends of Tomorrow Season 2 rolled around, Wentworth Miller returned as a younger Leonard who was still set in his villainous ways and was part of the Legion of Doom with Eobard Thawne, Malcolm Merlyn and Damien Darhk. Then in Season 3, following the “Crisis on Earth X” crossover event, Miller stuck around for a few episodes as Leo Snart, a hero from Earth-X who called himself Citizen Cold.

It’ll be nice to see Wentworth Miller back in the Legends of Tomorrow environment, even if it’s just briefly, and I’m curious about which memory of Leonard Snart Gideon will recall during the 100th episode. We’ll keep you apprised of any other major characters from the show’s past who are announced to return, but for now, you can look forward to Legends of Tomorrow Season 7 premiering on Wednesday, October 13 on The CW. While talking about mental and developmental disorders, diagnoses, and just openness about mental health in general used to be pretty taboo, open conversations are starting to be had in many different ways. Celebrities are also starting to break their silence on these topics and, now, Legends of Tomorrow vet Wentworth Miller has broken his internet silence to reveal his autism diagnosis with a very candid message to his fans.

Wentworth Miller deleted all of his public social media sites a few years ago and recently created new accounts for fans to follow. In his most recent post on his new Instagram, Miller candidly reflected on being diagnosed with autism over the course of the pandemic.

While in the post he says that he has suspected himself to be autistic and had previously self-diagnosed himself, Wentworth Miller also acknowledged that this coming fall will mark his one-year anniversary of being formally diagnosed as an autistic person. He goes on to say that the diagnosis process was a long one and expresses his feelings that the process needs updating and improving.

In an introspective statement and nod to those less fortunate than himself, Wentworth Miller states that he considers himself fortunate to be able to say he has been formally diagnosed. Even though conversations about mental and developmental disorders are becoming less taboo in the modern world, there still seems to be a large amount of privilege associated with getting help or formal acknowledgement of those disorders.

A large part of Wentworth Miller’s candid statement about his recent diagnosis is the recognition that it is still fairly new to him and that he does not know nearly everything there is to know about autism. With this, he spoke about how he plans to approach being a new member of the autism community. Here’s exactly what the Prison Break star says on that front:

This is not the first time Wentworth Miller has used his voice to shed light on the traits that make up who he is as a person as well as issues that matter. Almost a decade ago, Miller came out publicly as a gay man and actually released a statement in which he said that he no longer wished to play straight characters. This was due to the fact that he felt their voices and their stories had been told time and time again. Queer representation has since improved drastically, but some franchises are just now beginning to break that barrier.

Representation of the autistic community exists, but it honestly isn’t nearly as present in film and TV as it could be. It's very likely that this will remain the case until more voices in the community are added to writers' rooms and are in the room when producers are discussing potential projects. Wentworth Miller calls his diagnosis a gift and being autistic is “central to who he is”, which is a sentiment everyone can surely appreciate.

Buffy the Vampire Slayer launched the careers of several actors including Sarah Michelle Gellar and David Boreanaz, but did you know they’ve had their fair share of up-and-comer guest stars who have all blown up into huge stars? Wonder Woman 1984's Pedro Pascal and Amy Adams are superstars now, but let’s look back at their humble beginnings along with some other familiar faces.

Pedro Pascal

Pedro Pascal had a one-episode appearance as Eddie in the Season 4 opener, “The Freshman”. A fellow freshman at UC Sunnydale, he and Buffy bonded over looking for her dorm, and they promised to hang out and help each other out through the school year. Poor Eddie is immediately attacked by a vampire after Buffy leaves. He later pops back up as a vampire Buffy has to dust. Pascal first picked up some traction with Game of Thrones and Narcos, but has since gone supernova, playing the titular character in The Mandalorian and starring as the villainous Max Lord in Wonder Woman 1984. If that wasn’t white hot enough for you, he’ll next be seen playing Joel in the hotly anticipated adaptation of the video game, The Last Of Us for HBO.

Amy Adams

Amy Adams popped up in the Season 5 episode, “Family” as Tara’s nasty cousin, Beth. Turns out Tara has demon heritage and all women in her family eventually turn evil. Her family shows up to take her home, except, surprise! This was actually bullshit and Tara is human and it was made up to keep the women in line. Beth wins extra terrible points for calling Tara a “selfish bitch." Amy Adams has since become one of Hollywood’s A-list, including being nominated for six Oscars. Her big screen breakthrough was in the 2007 Disney hit, Enchanted. Since then she’s been in tons of notable movies including American Hustle, playing Lois Lane in the Zack Snyder-verse and starring and producing the HBO miniseries Sharp Objects, based on the Gillian Flynn novel.

Wentworth Miller

Playing Gabe Petronzi in the Season 2 episode, “Go Fish”, Miller played a Sunnydale High School swim team jock-turned Creature from the Black Lagoon. Turns out monsters have been killing swim team members and Buffy thinks he’s next so she plays bodyguard. In reality, the swim team coach has been giving the members chemicals and they’re not actually dying, they’re turning into lizard/fish/monster-people, which Miller's Gabe ends up turning into as well. Wentworth Miller went on to star as the main character in Fox’s Prison Break. More recently, he’s portrayed fan-favorite villain Captain Cold on CW’s The Flash and its spinoff, Legends of Tomorrow. He also came out in 2013, and in November 2020 he put the kibosh on a sixth season of Prison Break stating he doesn't want to play straight characters.

Kal Penn

There’s not a lot to say about Kal Penn’s Buffy the Vampire Slayer appearance, except that it was in a really, really bad episode. Penn played Hunt, a UC Sunnydale student in the universally panned Season 4 episode, “Beer Bad.” Buffy picks up some drinking buddies to drown her sorrows over being jilted by Parker in the previous episode. But since this is Buffy, it turns out a frustrated bartender added a special potion to the beer that turns the students into cavemen. Bonus points because Kal Penn also showed up on Angel as a completely different character! Kal Penn’s most famous role is as Kumar in the Harold and Kumar series. He also had a recurring role on House, but he had to leave it because he took up a job in the Obama administration in 2010 as Director of Public Engagement.

Clea Duvall

Clea Duvall popped up early in a Season 1 episode ("Out of Sight, Out of Mind") of Buffy, playing Marcie Ross. Marcie was so unpopular, even super-losers like Willow and Xander didn’t notice her. Being that they live on a Hellmouth Marcie feeling invisible to everyone LITERALLY TURNED HER INVISIBLE. Cordelia and other popular girls start being victims of her stealthy attacks. After they stop Marcie, we get a weird, X-Files-esque ending in which some G-Men come and take her to a school that will help her. Except they take her to a secret assassination school for invisible kids, the end. Clea Duvall had a string of late '90s hits including The Faculty. She’s also had a steady TV career, most recently as the girlfriend to the first daughter and secret service agent to Julia Louis-Dreyfus on Veep. Most recently, she wrote and directed the holiday rom-com Happiest Season on Hulu, starring Kristen Stewart.

Michael Cudlitz

"The Zeppo" is a great Season 3 episode where Xander feels undervalued and starts hanging out with some trouble-making teens. Turns out they’re trying to raise Bob (Michael Cudlitz) -- a former meathead from Sunnydale -- from the dead and then intend to blow up the school. What’s fun about this episode is Xander’s goofy side plot with Bob is front and center while the dramatic world-ending plot takes a back seat. Michael Cudlitz has had a long Hollywood career in supporting roles including the John Wells TNT cop drama Southland. However, undoubtedly his biggest role was playing Abraham on the AMC zombie hit, The Walking Dead. Most recently he starred in the 2018 show The Kids Are Alright which was cancelled after one season.

Amber Tamblyn

The Joan of Arcadia star played Janice, Dawn’s friend, in the Season 6 episode, “All The Way," when Dawn and her friends participate in Halloween hijinks. You see in Buffyverse Halloween is supposed to be the safest night of the year as demons take the night off. However, the boys Dawn and Janice are with didn’t get the message and are actually vampires who are plotting to kill them. Known for daytime soap General Hospital before her breakout role in 2003’s Joan of Arcadia, Amber Tamblyn is also known for her role in the ensemble coming-of-age drama The Sisterhood of The Traveling Pants. She can next be seen in the FX adaptation of Brian K. Vaughan’s Y: The Last Man.

Rachel Bilson

Rachel Bilson, much like Kal Penn, had a very small part, playing Colleen, a potential Slayer in the final season of Buffy the Vampire Slayer. By this point in the season, the Scoobies are bursting at the seams with potential slayers, with everyone housing them in their various abodes. Xander has a dirty dream about two of the Slayers having a pillow fight. One is played by Rachel Bilson. That’s it. That’s her whole appearance. I guess it’s reasonable to assume she’s there off-camera helping out in the final battle at the Hellmouth? Don’t shed too many tears, though, as she would breakout on the 2000’s mega-hit The O.C. the very same year. Bilson filled her post-O.C. years with guest roles in television before landing her leading role on the popular CW show, Heart of Dixie. More recently, she starred in Take Two on ABC, which was cancelled after a season.

John Ritter

This is a bit of a cheat as this was more stunt casting than casting a future star. Buffy’s mom starts dating Ted (John Ritter) in this Season 2 episode. He seems like a perfect boyfriend, but Buffy doesn’t quite warm to him. Ted reads her diary and learns about her slaying, to which Buffy gets upset. He slaps her, and then she unleashes a can of slayer whoop-ass on him, accidentally killing him. Buffy feels bad about this the next day, but don’t worry, he shows up alive in her bedroom the next night! Is he a demon? No, he’s a robot. Look, early Buffy episodes had some weird plots. John Ritter passed away in 2003 from aortic disease. He’ll best be known for the '70s sitcom Three’s Company. He also had a string of movie hits in the '90s, including Problem Child. He fell ill while rehearsing for his ABC sitcom, 8 Simple Rules and after a brief attempt at heart surgery, he was pronounced dead at the hospital.

Conchata Ferrell

Conchata Ferrell played Ruthie the school nurse in the Season 2 episode, “Go Fish." She helped the swim coach use the abandoned Soviet Union drugs to help make the swimmers faster. When she tried to shut down the experimentation, the coach threw her into the pit of mutant high school athlete lizard dudes and they ate her. Ferrell passed away in 2020 from complications from a heart attack, but had a long career in Hollywood. A working actress, she’s best remembered for playing Berta, the sharp and sassy housekeeper in over 200 episodes of the Chuck Lorre hit, Two and A Half Men.

Danny Strong

This one is also kind of a cheat, Jonathan is a fan favorite character who recurred in the early seasons of Buffy as a dorky, lovable high school classmate, and eventually made it to “big bad” status in Season 6 as part of “The Trio." Jonathan, Warren and Andrew teamed up to mostly annoy Buffy but thanks to Warren accidentally killing Tara with a stray bullet, eventually graduated to full-on supervillains. After a bit of redemption, things take a grim turn for Jonathan when a demon-influenced Andrew sacrifices him for his blood so they can open up the Hellmouth, RIP Jonathan.

The real reason to include Danny Strong on the list is he’s had a pretty successful career as a writer and producer, post-Buffy. He won writing Emmys for both Recount and Game Change for HBO, he wrote the last two movies in the Hunger Games franchise and co-created and executive produced Fox’s breakout hit, Empire. He’s also kept busy on the acting front, most recently appearing as the Secretary of Treasury in the Showtime Wall Street drama, Billions.

Buffy the Vampire Slayer has been a veritable who’s who for guest actors. These are only ten but there’s also been Whedonverse alums like Nathan Fillion, currently seen protecting and serving on ABC’s The Rookie, and Felicia Day, who’s an all around geek queen, including a recurring role as a demon hunter on the recently wrapped up CW hit, Supernatural. Law & Order: SVU is back for Season 22, and already the season has generated some buzz from audiences. The series continues to make headlines this week, as fans will spot a familiar face from the franchise's past returning to the acclaimed procedural. Actor Wentworth Miller of Prison Break fame will have a guest-starring role in the near future.

Wentworth Miller will rejoin the series as Isaiah Holmes, but in a different job than he held when Law & Order: SVU first introduced him. In this upcoming episode, TVLine reports Holmes has been promoted to lead Brooklyn District Attorney’s Civil Rights Unit. Carisi will reach out to Holmes when a person he went to school with becomes the subject of an investigation. The episode, which is slated to air in early 2021, will be the first time Wentworth Miller has returned to the franchise since Holmes debuted in Season 21.

Though Isaiah Holmes is the first role that Wentworth Miller will reprise on Law & Order: SVU, it is not his first role in the franchise. Miller first joined the series in a guest-starring role back in Season 11 where he played Nate Kendall. Law & Order: SVU recycling actors is not at all an uncommon occurrence with more than 20 years on the air, but actors tackling different roles in the same series is always worth mentioning just so diehard fans can go back and compare the performances.

This will be the first role for Wentworth Miller since he announced his departure from the revival of Prison Break. Miller made the announcement on his personal Instagram account, sharing that he wouldn't just not be playing Michael Scofield. There are other roles he won't be taking on either.

It's unclear at this time whether Wentworth Miller made this declaration before or after taking the job on Law & Order: SVU, and how that will impact his character on the series. Miller is a well-known name on television, so it isn't completely crazy to think the series could be bringing him back into the series to eventually settle him into a meatier role on SVU or the upcoming spinoff starring Christopher Meloni.

One thing that is certain is that if Law & Order: SVU is hoping to keep Wentworth Miller on the call list, the show may need to tweak or address some of Isaiah Holmes' story. We can only wait and see and hope that this return to network television means that Miller is ready and willing to join other projects in the near future.

They might be the Legends of Tomorrow, but they don't always make it to the next episode. The DC superhero series is a few short months away from its fifth season airing on The CW, but not everyone in the ensemble has made it this far. The show's roster has changed more than a few times throughout the fluctuating seasons, and there are several reasons why each respective cast member hasn't stuck around.

Whether it was announced beforehand or not, many of the show's cast members from previous seasons have left the program. If you go back to when the show first premiered back in 2016, you'll see that Legends of Tomorrow hasn't always looked the same with each season, and there are many reasons why former cast members have stopped collecting paychecks from the popular series.

With that in mind, let's take a look at the reasons why these Legends of Tomorrow performers haven't always made it to fight another day. Because, when you have a heroic ensemble doing tricky, dangerous work, it's never guaranteed that everyone is going to be around forever.

Ciara Renee (Kendra Saunders/Hawkgirl)

Sometimes, there is a natural end for a character's story. When it comes to Ciara Renee's turn as Kendra Saunders, i.e. Hawkgirl, it would seem that the writers felt her arc was completed by the time Legends of Tomorrow Season 1 came to a close, and they decided that it would be better to send her off into the sunset rather than attempt to expand her journey in an extraneous way. Alas, that meant that Ciara Renee's time on the show had winded to a close — even though she was a series regular during the first season. When the immortal Vandal Savage proved killable, that wrapped things up for Hawkgirl.

Falk Hentschel (Carter Hall/Hawkman)

Unfortunately, when it came time to discontinue Hawkgirl's storyline, the same fate befell Hawkman. With their main objective finished, the writers decided that it was time to put these two characters to rest along with the bulk of their narrative. They didn't have anything else they wanted to do with them, and they decided that it was their time to head into the great TV superhero beyond — even though, similar to Ciara Renee, Falk Hentschel was a series regular. While Hawkman was presumed dead after two episodes, the character came back — if only for a short while. His time on the show ended in 2016.

Matt Letscher (Eobard Thawne/Reverse Flash)

After a recurring role in The Flash, Matt Letscher's Eobard Thawne, also known as Reverse Flash, was given a series regular role in Legends of Tomorrow's second season. But, the villainous character wasn't meant to last on the show. Though he was a difficult foe, the character met his end during an eventful season finale, resulting in a memorable and fitting finale for the character. Alas, when Thawne was killed, that was, naturally, the end of Letscher's time on the show too.

Wentworth Miller (Leonard Snart/Captain Cold)

As Leonard Snart, i.e. Captain Cold, Wentworth Miller found himself on both The Flash and Legends of Tomorrow at regular intervals. On Legends of Tomorrow in particular, the actor served as a series regular during the first season, but then he became a recurring presence in Season 2, before shifting into guest star appearances in Season 3. It was shortly thereafter that it was revealed that Miller was leaving the Arrow-verse, signifying an end to his time on both shows.

The reason for Miller's departure is still left a bit murky. He expressed his gratitude to the showrunners and fans, but has moved on to different projects since saying goodbye to the CW superhero universe in 2018. Most recently, Miller has been seen on CBS's Madame Secretary.

Arthur Darvill (Rip Hunter)

Throughout the first two seasons, Arthur Darvill's Rip Hunter was one of the primary characters on the show. But he became a recurring character during the show's third season, during which Rip decided to sacrifice himself during in the Season 3 finale. Ultimately, it would seem that sacrifice is one that lasted, as the character has not returned for subsequent seasons. His character remains dead (so far as we can tell), resulting in the end to Arthur Darvill's time on the series. Once again, it would seem that it was a creative choice of the showrunners and writers to wrap up his character's journey this way.

Victor Garber (Martin Stein/Firestorm)

One of the core members of the time traveling superheroes, Victor Garber's Martin Stein, i.e. half of Firestorm, was at the core of Legends of Tomorrow ... until he decided to bid the show adieu after its third season. Evidently, it was the actor's desire to return to Broadway that lead him to leave the series, as he was starring in a revival of Hello, Dolly! alongside Bernadette Peters. It would have been very hard for the actor to do a Broadway show and a time-intensive television series at the same time. And, when given a choice, the actor — who is a veteran of the stage — decided that he wanted to return to the theater.

Franz Drameh (Jefferson "Jax" Jackson/Firestorm)

Shortly after Victor Garber exited the series, Franz Drameh did the same. Though the door was left open for the possibility of the character to return once again. In the show, shortly after Martin Stein was killed, the heroes went back in time and tried to save him. But, when they ran into a younger version of Stein, it was revealed that he was at peace with his death since it would have been after he lived a full life.

Subsequently, Jefferson "Jax" Jackson took this message to heart and he decided to leave the Legends of Tomorrow in order to focus on his own present and living a fulfilling life. The door is open for the possibility of the character returning, but it would seem that Jax is both wrapped and left dormant for the current time.

Keiynan Lonsdale (Wally West/Kid Flash)

After joining The Flash in Season 2, Keiynan Lonsdale became a series regular on Legends of Tomorrow during its third season. Alas, for personal reasons, the actor decided to leave both shows in order to focus on himself and his own journey outside of the show. On social media, Lonsdale was quick to express his thanks to those behind each show and their respect for him leaving during that time. And, he claimed that he wouldn't be opposed to returning at a latter date. But, he was ready to focus inward, and that meant he had to call it quits on the time travel series... at least, for the time being.

Alas, these aren't the only actors who will call it quits on Legends of Tomorrow. It was also recently revealed that Brandon Routh and Courtney Ford, who play Ray Palmer/Atom and Nora Darhk, respectively, on the series, will also be leaving The CW show after its forthcoming fifth season. The actors are married in real life, but it's not clear why they both decided to exit the series after this latest season. Alas, they're the latest in a string of actors who have left — either because their characters met their respective ends or the actors themselves decided it was time to move on.

Despite all of these actors leaving Legends of Tomorrow at a regular clip, however, it doesn't sound like there was any ill will towards the making of the show or playing their characters. Everyone involved expressed their thanks and gratitude, and it does help that they were involved in a show that frequents in time travel, thus allowing themselves a window through which they could, theoretically, return if they desire to do so. For now, though, it would seem that fans will have to continue to mourn the loss these characters as their futures were cut short.

Legends of Tomorrow will return for its fifth season starting on January 14th, 2020.

The CW has a lot of great DC shows in its roster, although I believe few measure up to the quality of The Flash. That's largely thanks to its stories and engaging characters, both of which has created some pretty great moments in the series. What happened to these character actors when their run was over, and where can people who loved these Flash cast members find them elsewhere?

As it turns out, a bulk of the former Flash cast has also made waves elsewhere, and are working on some pretty interesting new projects. Here's what many of them are up to now, and how they're faring after their run on The Flash.

Rick Cosnett - Eddie Thawne

Iris' ex and the ancestor of the man who would become Eobard Thawne, Rick Cosnett's Eddie Thawne made the ultimate sacrifice in an effort to stop Reverse Flash once and for all. His grand plan didn't quite work out, unfortunately, but Eddie got good guy points all the same, even if shooting himself was a bit extreme. Honestly, couldn't he have just scheduled a vasectomy?

Rick Cosnett played Eddie once more in Season 3, but The Flash character has been into other projects while the show continued. He's been in the indie film circuit, and even had a guest spot on NCIS in 2018. In 2019 he's got two independent films he's a part of: indie film The Wrong Husband and Tu Me Manques. He has no TV roles to speak of, but this veteran has the experience to jump into just about any show.

Keiynan Lonsdale - Wally West

Oh Kid Flash, we hardly knew ye. OK, we did get a solid chunk of time with Wally, but it felt like we were only scratching the surface of his superhero tenure before he left the show. It hurt even more because the writers said having two speedsters made stories too difficult to write, and then they went on and introduced more recurring speedsters in future seasons.

The same year he last appeared on The Flash, Keiynan Lonsdale also appeared in DC's Legends of Tomorrow and in the film Love, Simon. In addition, he released some music he had been working on, and appeared on RuPaul's Drag Race All-Stars. Next up, he's set to appear in a Netflix film dance movie Work It, and is a part of a project in pre-production by the name of Weetzie Bat, based on a popular character created by YA author Francesca Lia Block. He still may return to The Flash yet, although nothing has been revealed yet.

Neil Sandilands - Clifford DeVoe

He was The Flash's first non-speedster big bad, and one of the best The Flash characters that have appeared, in my opinion. Neil Sandilands' arrogant and manipulative Clifford DeVoe made for a fantastic addition to the season, and one of the best seasons of the series to date.

Since DeVoe's defeat, Neil Sandilands is part of an upcoming movie that features an actress CW fans may know well. Sandilands is starring alongside Riverdale's Camila Mendes in the indie film Coyote Lake. He also has two other appearances on the movie front on the way: ahorror film called Marfa and a sci-fi romp titled Day Six.

Robbie Amell - Ronnie Raymond

Stephen Amell's cousin Robbie landed a sweet gig as the Firestorm of The Flash, although his run in the series was comparatively short compared to other heroes. His last appearance happened in 2017 where he wasn't technically Ronnie, but a manifestation of the Speed Force looking to test Barry. Honestly, that's a pretty good run for someone who spent a majority of his mentions on the series as fake dead and actually dead.

In between his appearances on The Flash, Robbie Amell scored a role as special agent Kyd Miller on X-Files, and played Kevin on A Series Of Unfortunate Events. He's also had some roles on the Netflix film circuit, and can be seen in When We First Met, The Babysitter, and ARQ. He's also appeared in non Netflix-bound movies like Max, and with projects on the horizon, it's a safe bet this Flash character will be seen more in the future.

Wentworth Miller - Leonard Snart

The Flash has featured several characters fans have grown fond of, but few have been as beloved as Wentworth Miller's Leonard Snart. Miller's interpretation of the character was well-received, and over time the villain and rival of Barry Allen became an anti-hero of sorts via team-ups and his run on DC's Legends of Tomorrow. The Arrow-verse used him as much as Miller would allow, and that went on until he signaled his official exit in 2018.

Since then, Wentworth Miller hasn't appeared on television or movies, but rest assured something is on the horizon. Specifically, Miller is said to be a part of the presently in-development Season 6 of Prison Break, where he would potentially with his other Arrow-verse costar Dominic Purcell. Too bad they can't bring the heat and cold gun with them right?

Victor Garber - Martin Stein

Dr. Martin Stein was one-half of the hero Firestorm under two different heroes, and while he spent more time on Legends of Tomorrow, he's still a Flash character at heart. He's also one of the more shocking Arrow-verse deaths, as his exit during "Crisis On Earth-X" was a tremendously sad -- but also fitting -- exit for such a cool character and great actor.

As one would expect, there were no shortages of shows and projects wanting to scoop Victor Garber up after his stint in the Arrow-verse. He's been on The Orville, Power, and Netflix's Tales of the City. He also has a fair number of film projects on the way as well, so The Flash fans have plenty of options to follow Garber even further.

Violett Beane - Jesse Quick

Violett Beane hopped onto the scene as Earth-2 Harrison Wells' daughter, and eventually became the speedster known as Jesse Quick. To be clear, Jesse is still kicking around the Arrow-verse, and was even seen last season and aided Barry in getting rid of a bomb. With that said, she's not around nearly as much as she once was, and one has to wonder how many more episodes she'll appear in.

Especially as Beane continues to snatch up roles. Since she became a lesser presence on The Flash, Beane has had roles on The Resident, God Friended Me, and was in The Flay and Truth Or Dare. God Friended Me's renewal for Season 2 probably means The Flash character won't be popping back on the show in any major recurring role anytime soon. That said, it feels there's a chance she could pop in for "Crisis On Infinite Earths," but we'll see.

Teddy Sears - Zoom

Teddy Sears first fooled The Flash fans by posing as Jay Garrick, but eventually the ruse was uncovered and it was revealed he was actually Zoom aka Hunter Zolomon. He wanted all the speed, nearly got it, but then Barry bested him and he was consumed by the Time Wraiths. Sears briefly reprised the role in the 100th episode, but beyond the actor behind The Flash character has moved on to other things.

Specifically, he landed a recurring gig on Chicago Fire that has evolved into a pretty saucy storyline. Audiences will probably see him there for at least the 2019-2020 fall season, and he's also going to be a part of Ryan Murphy's upcoming series The Politician. Odds are we won't see him on The Flash anytime soon, although with time travel, nothing is ever really out of the question.

Tom Felton - Julian Albert

Season 3 of The Flash had many fans asking when the speedster seasons would cease, but others will definitely remember it for the recurring role played by former Harry Potter actor Tom Felton. Felton played the cynical, Julian Albert, who went from unintentional villain under mind control to a useful member of the team in no time flat. It seemed future plans were in motion for The Flash character, but alas, he exited rather unceremoniously.

Since Tom Felton's exit, he's done a few movies, and got a starring role in the YouTube Premium series Origin, which was cancelled earlier in 2019. Felton has signaled since then he'd be up to return to The Flash, although there's been no word whether or not the show has actually explored bringing Julian Albert back. With Cisco Ramon potentially on the way out, there may be an opening at S.T.A.R. Labs!

Jessica Camacho - Gypsy

Jessica Camacho's Gypsy hopped onto the scene as a bounty hunter in search of the deceptive-but-still-lovable H.R. She did eventually stop her pursuit of Team Flash's short-lived Wells, and found a loving relationship with a hero with a similar skill set, aka Cisco Ramon. Unfortunately, love fades and the two drifted apart, and The Flash character hasn't been seen a whole lot since then.

Jessica Camacho spent some time post-Flash on NBC's cancelled Taken, but has since moved on to another interesting series alongside another former alumni of The Flash. Camacho will play Michelle Vargas in the upcoming Katee Sackoff Netflix series Another Life, which will give both women another chance to strut their stuff in a sci-fi setting. Camacho is also a part of a pilot for a potential series called All Rise, so maybe we'll hear more on that in the future.

Katee Sackhoff - Amunet Black

Speaking of Katee Sackhoff, her Amunet Black may just be the most criminally-underutilized of The Flash characters. Sure Amunet Black had a presence on The Flash primarily as a part of Caitlin's Season 4 storyline, but she was always a side villain in performances that screamed she needed Big Bad status. She was last seen in Season 4, although she's been mentioned a handful of times in Season 5 since then, which means she may one day return.

It may be a minute, though, as Katee Sackhoff is set to lead Netflix's Another Life, and is also reprising her role as Bo-Katan Kryze in the upcoming new season of Star Wars: The Clone Wars. Those are the two main spots audiences will be able to catch her on, provided she isn't set to appear on The Flash again. The series left things open for it to happen, but whether it will actually happen we can only speculate.

Chris Klein - Cicada

Chris Klein is the latest Big Bad actor to exit The Flash, and probably the one case in the series where the term "Big Bad" is used loosely. While Klein's Cicada was touted as the season's main villain, he quickly took a backseat when Eobard Thawne was revealed to be manipulating Nora, and suffered an early exit after his niece from the future killed him and took over as Cicada.

Now that Chris Klein is out of The Flash, he's headed into something potentially big over at Netflix. He'll be appearing in the Sweet Magnolias series for Netflix, which is an adaptation of the novels written by Sherryl Woods. Those that fancy a little romance may want to check him out as Bill Townsend when that premieres, or could also wait and see him in the film Intensive Care, which is in pre-production.

Jessica Parker Kennedy - Nora West-Allen

Barry and Iris' daughter had a very tragic exit at the end of Season 5, as the season finale basically erased her from existence. We're not sure if The Flash character will return or not, but given the false exits of characters we've seen in the past, it wouldn't be surprising. We may also never see her again, hence her inclusion on the list.

Jessica Parker Kennedy doesn't have a ton of projects on the way, although her IMDB lists a movie she's in, Business Ethics, is in post-production. This could mean her return to The Flash is happening, although bringing Nora back so soon after her exit would diminish how devastating it was to begin with. We'll just have to wait and see what The Flash has planned!

Sounds Like The Flash Will Introduce A Major Crisis On Infinite Earths Moment Early In Season 6

Team Flash's ongoing war with the Thinker took some expected and unexpected turns in "Lose Yourself." For one, the villain finally took control of Ralph and his shapeshifting abilities, which DeVoe immediately put to use by morphing into his original body. And for another, DeVoe also sapped Caitlin's Killer Frost powers. So who does one call when the action is getting hot, but low temperatures are no longer plentiful? Wentworth Miller's Captain Cold, of course. Check out the soon-to-be-departing vigilante's return to his original home in the trailer below.

No one delivers Arrow-verse dialogue like Wentworth Miller does, and even though we only get a minor smattering of it in this trailer, it's still signature Captain Cold. He'll apparently be making his services available for a single day -- no more, no less -- and Barry has called up him to help transport the radiation-seeping Neil Borman, who has been doing just fine in jail without getting his powers usurped by the Thinker. So you know that any attempts to get him somewhere "safe" are going to put these characters through all shades of hell.

Not that I know how Leonard Snart is going to be a good back-up when taking on DeVoe, who's got more powers right now than Snart has snappy one-liners. One might have thought that Barry and the others would have reached out to Jay Garrick or the myriad other heroes who may have helped out just as easily, if not better. Hell, call a whole bunch of them over. because this is the Thinker, people. It's not a dance party...Dammit, Snart, I said it's not a dance party!

It wasn't that long ago when Wentworth Miller said that he would be done with the Arrow-verse after his most recent contract had run out. He also said never say never about such prospects after that, so we're not sure what to believe. Beyond the belief that Captain Cold specifically should narrate all the Arrow-verse show commercials.

The Flash, which introduced Edwin "Mr. Pocket-verse" Gauss for a short stay, will also be bringing John Diggle back soon, though we're not quite sure what that mini-crossover will entail. While Arrow-verse fans have been treated to some "new" appearances from Wentworth Miller in the DC series as of late, everyone is well aware the fun is finite. While his contractual obligation to appear as Leonard Snart is nearing its end, Miller does have at least one more appearance up his sleeve for 2018, as he noted he's about to start filming one final appearance on The Flash. And that might not be all. In the actor's words:

This is pretty good news, since Wentworth Miller's announcement about leaving had many assuming he had finished all his filming for the Arrow-verse. Now, with Miller getting at least one more episode of The Flash to get through, the world will get another opportunity to see him step back into the cold-thwarting suit, presumably as some version of Leo Snart. But seeing as Miller didn't lay out concrete details for his final appearance on The Flash, it's always possible he could be appearing as some other variant of Snart such as Citizen Cold, or maybe he'll be playing the original Snart in a flashback or time-travel scenario.

For now, that seems to be the end of Leonard Snart on any Arrow-verse show, but there's reason to stay hopeful. While he made no explicit promises to fans at the German Comic-Con in Dortmund, Wentworth Miller did say that he will "never say never," to coming back to The Flash or Legends of Tomorrow in the future. Miller explained why, and what it would take, as he doted on his love for the entire experience of being on both shows below:

So now, all Arrow-verse fans have to do to get Wentworth Miller back is hound all the shows' creative teams to write engaging and interesting storylines for Leonard Snart, in the hopes of getting Wentworth Miller back indefinitely! Or at least for a few more episodes. Considering Prison Break is apparently on its way back to television yet again, the odds of Miller's return might appear low, but if Dominic Purcell can do both shows, why can't his co-star? On that note, Prison Break's potential return hopefully doesn't mean Mick is about to sacrifice himself to save the Waverider crew.

No date on when fans can expect to see Wentworth Miller on any Arrow-verse show again, but The Flash returns to The CW on Tuesday, January 16, at 8:00 p.m. ET. DC Arrow-verse fans were blasted with some sad news a few days ago when it was revealed Wentworth Miller would be filming his final episodes for The Flash and Legends Of Tomorrow. While it is unfortunate that the actor who made Leonard Snart a beloved character on both shows is exiting the Arrow-verse, there's a bit of a silver lining to this cold and dark (but mostly cold) rain cloud. A synopsis for the upcoming four-way crossover has confirmed that Miller will appear as "Citizen Cold" to help our heroes defeat their new but familiar foes.

So who in the hell is Citizen Cold? In DC Comics, Citizen Cold is an alternative version of Captain Cold created in the Flashpoint timeline. A protector of Central City, Citizen Cold was the equivalent of The Flash, and even had a museum in his honor. So essentially, Wentworth Miller's return as Citizen Cold will be as a full-fledged hero, although it's a little problematic as to how he'll emerge, given the current state of The Flash.

We've seen the Flashpoint timeline in The Flash, and if memory serves, there was no Citizen Cold running around and saving Central City. That said, with the doppel-invaders and The Ray hailing from Earth-X, it would be rather easy to introduce Citizen Cold as a hero of Earth-X. After all, that world contains an evil Oliver Queen and a plethora of other heroes taking villainous turns, so is it really hard to believe that world's Leonard Snart would use his cold gun for good?

It'd also be a great way to send off Wentworth Miller, as this storyline prevents yet another distinct return for Leonard Snart, and thus limits any further connections Miller has to the prime Arrow-verse world, being his final episodes. Unfortunately, nothing we've seen indicates how much of the four-part crossover Miller will be involved in, but one can speculate his character might at least make an entrance at some point during The Flash or Legends Of Tomorrow section, since the character doesn't really have any strong connections to Supergirl. Having said that, the crossover has been said to be more cohesive this time around, and less specifically on whatever show is airing and , so it's completely possible Citizen Cold could pop up in the first episode.

The big Arrow-verse crossover is currently scheduled to kick off with Supergirl on The CW on Monday, November 27th at 8 p.m. ET. While the Arrow-verse has had more than a few comings and goings character-wise throughout the four shows' existences, all of them have done a pretty solid job of keeping the core cast intact over the years. That trend will still take a hit in light of another supposed departure, and fans will be sad to learn that Wentworth Miller aka Leonard Snart is apparently stepping away from the worlds of The Flash and Legends Of Tomorrow for good. The actor shared the news via a post on Instagram that will chill hearts worldwide:

It's surely awful news for fans to hear that Wentworth Miller may be completely finished with his supervillain career, as he's been playing Leonard Snart since episode 4 of The Flash Season 1, and has been an Arrow-verse fan favorite ever since. The character transitioned to a leading role in Legends Of Tomorrow, but was eventually killed off (twice). Since death in the Arrow-verse doesn't mean much most of the time, not too many fans were sweating after his most recent death, figuring the character would return again and again via time travel. While that's certainly true and is indeed happening, it looks like Miller will be taking his final bow in one or both shows before the end of either show's season.

It was assumed that Snart would be a recurring character somewhere in the 2017-2018 TV season, as opposed to the regular role he took on Legends Of Tomorrow, but this is the first we're hearing he's donezo with the role. Likely, this just means Wentworth Miller thinks it's time to move on from Captain Cold, and from the looks of his message, it doesn't appear there's any reading between the lines regarding his departure. At least informing the public means he's presumably talked to writers, which means that Captain Cold might get a proper send-off from The Flash and LoT so that future fans won't have to wonder why the character just up and disappeared for later seasons. Let's just hope Snart isn't merely killed off yet again, as that's becoming a bit old hat at this point.

Currently, we do have some details surrounding Wentworth Miller's return to Legends Of Tomorrow, so it'll be interesting to see how that storyline plays out now that we know Snart is leaving both LoT and The Flash for good. As we all know by now, Barry and the rest of Team Flash are becoming desperate in their efforts to save Iris from Savitar, as we've only got a few weeks left until her death at the end of his giant sword is supposed to take place. Well, it looks like Barry has gotten so desperate that he's actually going to turn to a villain for help. According to the recently released episode synopsis for Episode 22, Barry will seek out none other than Captain Cold to try and save his lady love.

Well, at this point, it's really not a surprise that Barry is looking for help in (possibly) all the wrong places. He and his team have already tried a wide variety of things to stop this horrible version of the near future from coming to pass. Most recently, Barry played with time (again) by going to the future to see if future versions of his friends or himself had any answers that could stop Iris from being murdered by Savitar right in front of him. All of their efforts so far have been a bust, as things are still on an Iris-dies-a-bloody-Savitar-death track. So, if Barry thinks that a bad guy he battled in the past can help stop this, it makes total sense that he'd be willing to try pretty much anything now.

There are quite a few problems with the idea of Barry trying to get Captain Cold to help him save Iris. First of all, the dude is dead. He died last year after joining up with the Legends of Tomorrow and sacrificing himself to save his new team. So, this would seem to mean that Barry is going to head back in time (dammit!) to around late 2015 to talk to him. This would be a time when Barry and Cold had come to a truce of sorts, with Barry letting him continue to steal things as long as he didn't hurt anyone while doing it, but before Cold joined up with the Legends and went traveling through time.

The other issue with this is that, obviously, Cold wasn't around for any Savitar shenanigans, so how he would be able to help Barry and Iris is a complete mystery. But, like everything that comprises this whole Savitar arc on The Flash, I'm sure all will be revealed when we see Captain Cold again on the May 16 episode of the show. Prison Break is the latest expired Fox series to get the revival treatment, and fans have been rewarded for their years of loyalty with a surprise Season 5. The fifth season is currently airing, and star Wentworth Miller has weighed in on whether there could be a future for the series after the latest batch of episodes has aired, saying this:

Wentworth Miller revealed the possibility for a Prison Break Season 6 in a chat with EW, and it paints an interesting picture of the potential future for the characters. The action of Season 5 picked up seven years after the end of Season 4, and it revealed that the main characters went in very different directions. Lincoln and Sara were both deeply affected by Michael's apparent death, while Michael actually didn't die and ended up in yet another prison. Miller's tease of a possible Season 6 indicates that all the loose ends will not be totally wrapped up by the end of Season 5.

Of course, his comment about "multiple generations" could mean that the future of Prison Break has more to do with Michael's son than Michael himself. The kid is currently much too young to anchor a series like Prison Break, but the show has already pulled off one pretty mighty time jump; who's to say another time jump couldn't be in the cards for a Season 6? It won't necessarily need to be Prison Break: The Next Generation, but expanding the focus on other members of Michael and Lincoln's family could breathe new life into the show.

A lot may depend on the ratings for Season 5 as much as the story. The premiere earned solid ratings, although they were thoroughly unimpressive when compared to the X-Files revival premiere back in 2016. We'll have to wait and see what happens next with the numbers. If Prison Break is at least consistent throughout Season 5, Fox could have the motivation it needs to move forward with a Season 6. I'm just hoping that the current season doesn't end on a cliffhanger.

For better or worse, television has never really set a benchmark for what necessitates a revival or remake of a former hit series, and so projects like Fuller House, Star Trek: Discovery and the in-development S.W.A.T. reboot pilot can co-exist within the medium without everything imploding. Fox is hoping to cash in on this perma-nostalgia by taking viewers back into the high-stakes and low-feasibility world of Prison Break for a limited fifth season, and while its problems can be glaring, this is a down and dirty return to the balls-out, conspiracy-driven insanity of Michael and Lincoln's glory days.

Rather than stemming from an obsession-worthy narrative painstakingly conceived by creator Paul Scheuring in the years since the series first went off the air, Prison Break's new adventure was inspired by stars Wentworth Miller and Dominic Purcell working together again on The Flash and Legends of Tomorrow. But Scheuring was down, and that's when he crafted this war-torn jigsaw puzzle of a story that pushes its serialization almost to a fault, in that viewers are following along without much of a clue as to why anything is happening. But even though knowledge is power, so is Lincoln with a hammer.

In a somewhat conflicting fashion for a show that intentionally keeps secrets from viewers and characters, the first episode of Prison Break's return is rife with on-the-nose exposition, and is thus the hardest episode to get through of the four screened for critics. Which is also a weird feeling, since the premiere is when we're at our most excited to reconnect with everyone. Seven years after the events of the former series finale, Linc is back to his old tricks and screwing over other criminals. Sara (Sarah Wayne Callies) has gotten remarried to a too understanding chap named Jacob, played by the disarmingly affable Mark Feuerstein, and they're raising Michael Scofield, Jr. (Christian Michael Cooper).

Of anyone else, though -- and there are plenty of other characters, both new and returning -- the most important update comes from Robert Knepper's disturbingly enjoyable T-Bag. Upon being released from prison, he's presented with evidence that Michael, or someone who looks remarkably like Michael, is inexplicably still alive, apparently never having perished from either self-sacrifice or any brain tumors. Understandably, this sets into motion a rescue attempt that takes Linc and more around the world to a dilapidated and ill-run prison in danger of being taken over by an enemy threat. You'll have to watch for yourself to see what that threat is, why this prison is where Possible Michael is imprisoned, and what Linc does to alleviate that situation. Don't expect quick answers, though.

While the first episode is uneven, there are definitely fun and exciting moments, such as Linc's first big melee and Wentworth Miller's first appearance. And thankfully, everything really picks up steam from that point on, as an expectedly endless number of obstacles gets in the way of all our main characters, and those obstacles take on various forms. The prison and its inhabitants are trouble for Is-It-Michael and his few friendlies, while Linc and his company are facing another batch of angry folks, and there are also some armed and dangerous villains who would like to have a word with Sara. And that word is "die."

As fans know, Prison Break is a show that embraces big twists and pre-credit cliffhangers, so to go any deeper into the story would be like a guard telling an inmate his or her jail cell has a trick bar that you can slip through. Although in this case, watching Prison Break's long-awaited comeback is a much more fun journey than attempting to escape a legitimate lockup. And a lot of that fun comes from the big returns from stellar actors like Rockmond Dunbar as C-Note, Amaury Nolasco as Sucre and Paul Adelstein as the slimeball Paul Kellerman. But nobody is as fun to watch as Robert Knepper's T-Bag, and one can only hope everyone gets bigger roles in the back half of the season, since another fault early on is a lack of shared screentime with all the familiar faces. That's fixable, though.

Taking another objective step back, it's hard to produce an argument that another season of Prison Break was absolutely necessary, especially given the amount of narrative footwork that had to be done to upend the rather solid way things wrapped up back in 2009. However, 2017 is also giving us more Twin Peaks and more Curb Your Enthusiasm, so it's easier to just sit back and enjoy the explosive ride than worry about such arguments. Plus, after seeing all the badass brawls and jaw-dropping shocks that happen in the early part of the season, I'd have to be behind bars to stop from watching everything else that happens. I need answers as badly as Linc does.

Wentworth Miller's Leonard Snart has become one of the Arrow-verse's most unexpectedly popular characters since his initial introduction on The Flash. From his badass persona to Miller's delightful scenery-chewing, the character has pretty much everything we want from this gloriously campy small screen superhero universe. He's popped up here and there over the course of the last season in hallucinations or flashbacks, but next week's episode will see him finally return in earnest. As the latest trailer indicates, it is a suitably tragic moment for his former comrades, because he bemusedly looks ready for a deadly fight.

Last night's episode of Legends of Tomorrow featured a reasonably happy ending for our team of time travelers. They managed to recover the final piece of the Spear of Destiny, and Ray Palmer even figured out that Legends' Eobard Thawne is a time remnant of the one we saw at the end of The Flash's first season. However, next week's episode will turn the victory on its doomed head, as the Legion of Doom will recruit a nastier version of Leonard Snart into its ranks to face off against his former allies. That is great storytelling and yet another reason why fans of Arrow and The Flash who gave up on Legends of Tomorrow should consider giving this series another chance.

The Leonard Snart reveal for next week's episode is devastating on a couple of levels. For starters, it is always tormenting to see teammates turn on one another. We saw that happen earlier this season when the Legion of Doom reprogrammed Rip Hunter into a (somewhat bumbling) henchman. But Rip wasn't originally a coldhearted villain. And on another level, it is sad to see this older version of Captain Cold turn on his team because it undoes quite a bit of the excellent character development that we saw last year. This Captain Cold has (presumably) not confronted his father, not bonded with the various Legends, and not sacrificed his life for a higher calling. So he's a snarkier, douchier version.

Of course, it is entirely possible that Legends of Tomorrow is bluffing. Leonard Snart is distinct from the other members of the Legion of Doom in the way that he has been portrayed over the last few years, and seeing him introduced so late in this season could indicate that he is far less committed to the supervillain team than Darhk, Merlyn, or Thawne. Is it possible that Snart is actually faking his villainy to protect Mick Rory? It most certainly is, but we will have to wait and see how this all pans out when the episode finally airs.

Of all the TV remakes and revivals that recent years have granted us with, perhaps one of the most unexpected is Fox's upcoming return to Prison Break's universe, considering one of its main characters was dead when the show ended. And as some might have expected, we all have The Flash to thank for the project coming together in the first place, but then we also have Legends of Tomorrow to blame for keeping things limited. Here's co-lead Wentworth Miller talking about reconnecting with Dominic Purcell as The Flash's Rogues.

No doubt that Wentworth Miller and Dominic Purcell were NOT the first people to start talking about revisiting Prison Break because of their Flash roles. As soon as it became clear the two actors would be on TV again together, similarly on the opposite side of the law, the fanbase erupted with speculation that Michael Scofield and Lincoln Burrows would one day find themselves at the end of another dangerous escape. We're all used to TV logic bringing people back from the dead by now, so that was just a technicality, as was making sure everyone else in the cast could also come back.

And sure enough, it was just eight months after The Flash premiered on The CW that the Prison Break revival was put into development, so it's safe to assume Wentworth Miller and Dominic Purcell didn't develop any newfound antagonism towards each other on the acting side of things. In fact, the two went off to co-star in the spinoff Legends of Tomorrow, currently in its second season. As it happens, the superhero ensemble drama also affected the in-development Prison Break season, as the actors weren't able to switch their schedules around to film all ten episodes.

According to executive producer Paul T. Scheuring, who spoke to reporters at the TCA winter press tour (via TVLine), the creative team had to go back and modify things after it became clear the actors were stuck.

Everyone wants as much time as possible to spend with characters they love, but I guess it's hard to knock this situation if it means Prison Break's new episodes will be that much tighter and fluff-free when they arrive. And if Michael has a tattoo of Central City on his back, or if Linc starts solving all his problems with flame-throwers, we'll understand.

Prison Break's upcoming new season feels like it should have gotten here already, but we'll be waiting for it to escape and find its way to our eyeballs on Tuesday, April 4, at 9 p.m. ET. Legends of Tomorrow shocked audiences last spring when it killed off the popular Leonard Snart before the end of the first season. Luckily, Legends of Tomorrow is a time travel show filled with characters who don't really care so much about the rules of time travel, and death isn't always permanent. Now, we know when he'll be back to ice his enemies as Captain Cold once more, as Wentworth Miller will reprise his role as Leonard Snart in the Season 2 midseason finale, and it's probably a pretty major deal for some big reasons.

We already knew that Captain Cold would be back in an important way at some point, since it was announced shortly after the character's death that Wentworth Miller had signed on to The CW's DC universe as a regular who would visit Arrow and The Flash as well as Legends of Tomorrow in the 2016-2017 TV season. A past version of Captain Cold tuned up in the Legends of Tomorrow Season 1 finale, and showrunner Marc Guggenheim teased that the rogue would have a presence in Season 2. Throw in the fact that the Legion of Doom band of villains was stated to include Captain Cold, and it was inevitable that he'd pun his way back to prominence. The question was just of when.

Captain Cold's return in the midseason finale indicates that the Legion of Doom will take its time coming together. The Season 2 premiere revealed that Damien Darhk and Reverse-Flash have already pooled their resources, and Deadline reports that Malcolm Merlyn will join the duo in Episode 8 of Season 2, so Captain Cold will be the last member of the Legion to sign on. Each of the four has been problematic to the good guys of The CW's DC universe on their own; the whole group together with a mishmash of Darhk's magic, Reverse-Flash's superpowers, Merlyn's scheming, and now Cold's technology could be a huge problem for all of time and space.

A midseason finale return for Captain Cold will undoubtedly also raise the stakes going into hiatus. Mick Rory should be glad to reunite with his old partner, and Sara formed a special bond with Cold during Season 1 that she could be keen to rekindle, but they may be in for a rude awakening when they discover that this version Captain Cold is still stuck in villain mode. The Legion of Doom could gain a significant edge over the Legends by bringing him into their crew of evildoers. We'll have to wait and see if they try to go the double agent route and ally him with the Legends, or just send him in with his cold gun at full power.

Prison Break will be returning to the small screen in 2017, and fans can look forward to seeing more of the adventures of Michael and Lincoln as they try to beat yet another prison. Still, fans shouldn't count on the revival feeling just like a continuation of the show where it left off. The next set of episodes is going to be different from the first four seasons in some big ways. Actor Robert Knepper has this to say about what's going to be new for Prison Break in 2017:

Robert Knepper shared what is going to feel different for the Prison Break revival in a chat with THR. The actor played Theodore "T-Bag" Bagwell in 75 of the 81 episodes of Prison Break's initial run on Fox. We can definitely trust that he knows what he's talking about when it comes to comparing Seasons 1 - 4 to the revival.

Fans might be at least a little bit bummed that the next episodes won't be a return to form for Prison Break. After all, part of the fun of revivals is the novelty of getting bonus episodes of a beloved series that was seemingly gone forever. It's sounding like the revival of Prison Break is going to feel more like a sequel than a Season 5. Still, given that Season 4 ended with the characters convinced that Michael was very definitively dead, some changes in tone were going to be necessary for the revival to work. The crew can't just pick off where they left off; Sara is re-married, her son with Michael is being raised with the help of another man, and Lincoln is off moving on as best he can.

Luckily, star Wentworth Miller has revealed that Prison Break won't diverge entirely from its roots. Michael evidently hasn't forgotten a big part of what helped him escape with his brother back in the earlier days of the series. Here's what Miller has to tease about what will be familiar about Michael's next method of breaking out of prison:

The tattoos will be central to the plot of the revival, although they won't be used the same as Michael's Season 1 tattoos. The tattoos of the prison schematics made sense when Michael first broke into prison to rescue Lincoln; he won't have had the same resources for his tattoos in the years since the original series finale. It's hard to say at this point just how they might influence the plot; we know that the revival has been inspired by The Odyssey, but Odysseus didn't exactly use any tattoos to navigate his way home from the Trojan War. We can only guess at this point.

Unfortunately, Prison Break won't be back on the air for a while yet. The next set of episodes will debut in midseason 2017 with ten episodes that will air on Thursdays at 9 p.m. ET on Fox. Major spoilers are ahead for Legends of Tomorrow Episode 15, “Destiny.” Read at your own peril.

Tonight’s episode of Legends of Tomorrow gave viewers another shock, as the show is known to do. And, that shock just happened to be the death of Leonard Snart, a.k.a. Captain Cold. But, as can be expected with a show that deals in time travel, we haven’t seen the last of Snart yet.

According to Deadline, actor Wentworth Miller, who has portrayed Leonard Snart on Legends of Tomorrow as a series regular, and The Flash as a recurring villain, won’t be gone from The CW’s DC shows altogether now. No, instead he’ll recur on multiple Greg Berlanti produced DC shows. Right now, the plan is for Miller’s Snart to show up on the two shows he’s already been on, but his new contract could lead to appearances on the Berlanti produced Arrow as well at some point.

So, let’s take a step back and see how Snart ended up all dead and whatnot. While being held by the Time Masters, the Time Council told Rip that our Legends haven’t exactly been in control of their own destinies all this time. It looks like the council was using a device, called the Oculus, to influence their actions in a way that would help lead to Vandal Savage’s rise to absolute power in 2166.

Not being ones to stand by and let themselves be controlled, the team decides to take out the Oculus. When Rip, Mick and Ray finally make their way to the device, after fighting their way through a veritable army of Time Guards, Ray begins to set the Oculus to blow up. Unfortunately, he quickly realizes that someone will need to hold the device’s fail safe down in order for the detonation to take place, and, being a stand up kind of guy, Ray endeavors to take that responsibility upon himself. After some rather comedic place-switching, Snart ends up bravely taking the Oculus down, exploding in a swath of blue light along with all of Time Council headquarters.

The Deadline report also notes that the producers of Legends of Tomorrow knew that Wentworth Miller wouldn’t be a permanent member of the team, as the actor had only signed a short-term deal with the show. But, the team behind Legends and The Flash wanted to be able to keep Miller around.

The big question here is how they’re going to manage having a dead guy around all the time. The Flash has the benefit of alternate versions of Earth on its side, along with a bit of speed induced time travel, so either could lead to a newly alive form of Leonard Snart. Meanwhile, as we already know, Legends of Tomorrow is big on time travel. It’s actually the whole point of the show, and this means they have a built-in solution to the dead Snart problem if they want us to see him again. Of course, it sounds like each show is going to have to find multiple ways to bring Snart back, so I guess we’ll have to wait until next season to see how they manage that without things getting convoluted or just plain silly.

If there’s one thing The Flash is known for besides his impressive speed, it’s his colorful rogues gallery. Despite Batman and Spider-Man typically being the guys who are thought of as the superheroes with the best villains, The Flash’s bad guys have their own sense of uniqueness, from the reflective Mirror Master to the fiery Heatwave. With The Flash set to take the CW by storm this fall, we’ll be getting many of these villains appearing in live-action for the first time, and now we have our first official images of Flash’s most iconic foe: Captain Cold!

Executive producer Geoff Johns shared this photo of Prison Break alum Wentworth Miller as the chilling Captain himself, Leonard Snart. As we’ve seen in previews, The Flash pilot establishes that when the S.T.A.R. Labs particle accelerator exploded, it unleashed unknown dimensional energies into our world, giving not just Barry Allen powers, but others as well. This means that many of the enemies Flash fights will have abilities of their own, but that won’t be the case for Cold...for now. In another fine example of adapting a look for television while still staying true to the comics, Cold is rocking his trademark freeze gun and goggles. The gun is a bigger than it is in the comics, but considering what it’s accomplishing, it’s fine that the production team bumped up its size. But wait, there’s more! Johns also posted another image of Cold in action!

If that piece of fuzz on his back is part of a hood, then this jacket would be an augmentation of the bright parka he wears in the comics. It’s unclear what’s burning in the background, but considering the destructive power of those guns, Cold is likely to blame. Perhaps he’s pulling off a heist and has to deal with an intervening Flash.

Since his introduction in 1957, Captain Cold has been a persistent enemy of The Flash, both by himself and as the leader of The Rogues. For example, Cold fought the Scarlet Speedster and other heroes with only his cold guns and his wits. During the New 52 however, Cold was able to transfer the gun’s power to himself and gain cryokinesis, but his powers were taken away during the Forever Evil crossover event, and he’s back to using his guns. The show may take a similar approach. Cold could fight Flash with the gun at first and make a few upgrades here and there, eventually gaining superpowers of his own. Regardless, whether it’s with powers or technology, Captain Cold looks like he’ll be a formidable enemy for Central City’s newest protector.

Five years after Fox's Prison Break wrapped up, Michael Scofield and Lincoln Burrows are finally reuniting. Well, the actors who played them are. We knew that Wentworth Miller was already lined up for a guest spot in The Flash, and today comes word that his Prison Break co-star Dominic Purcell is also set to appear in the Arrow spinoff. While Wentworth Miller's character will be introduced early on in the season, the two actors' first appearance together won't happen until the tenth episode.

THR reports that Dominic Purcell is set to join Wentworth Miller in Episode 10 of CW's The Flash. Their characters won't merely be crossing paths in the episode either, as the site reports that Purcell will play Mick Rory, "a pyromaniac who finds an outlet for his obsession with fire when he teams up with Leonard Snart/Captain Cold," which is the character Miller is playing. If you're going to play with fire... it's probably a good idea to buddy up with a guy who likes to play with ice. For safety reasons, anyway.

In the DC Universe, Mick Rory also goes by the alias Heat Wave. Heat Wave is a known antagonist to the Flash...

As mentioned, Wentworth Miller's character will be introduced in Episode 4. THR says Dominic Purcell's character "will also be heard from" in the same episode, but given that they report the reunion isn't set until Episode 10, we might be waiting a little while before we actually see him.

Dominic Purcell isn't the first Prison Break actor to be cast in The Flash, nor is he the second. Robert Knepper, who appeared as Theodore "T-Bag" Bagwell in all but one episode of Prison Break, is set to reprise his Arrow role as William Tockman aka Clock King in The Flash. Clock King's first appearance in The Flash is set to happen in Episode 7.

CW has both Arrow and The Flash lined up for October premieres. But they'll be giving fans and newbies alike a crash course in all things Barry Allen in the Arrow-Flash universe by airing "The Scientist" and "Three Ghosts," two Arrow Season 2 episodes in which Grant Gustin's Barry Allen appeared before being rendered comatose in the lightning storm that would contribute to his superpowers. Those will air Wednesday, October 1, the week ahead of The Flash's Tuesday, October 7 premiere (and Arrow's Wednesday, October 8).

Just like Arrow, The Flash really is brimming with potential for great heroes and villains. Following word that we may be Firestorm on The Flash, comes news that Wentworth Miller has been cast to play the role of Leonard Snart, also known in the DC universe as Captain Cold, recurring nemesis to the Flash.

THR says that Wentworth Miller will guest star as Leonard Snart -- aka Captain Cold -- in the Arrow spinoff series The Flash. Miller will make his first appearance in the fourth episode. Exactly how big a role Miller's character will play in the series remains unclear, but it's a great bit of casting, especially for those of us who appreciate Wentworth Miller in Prison Break.

In addition to starring in Fox's Prison break, Miller's credits include House M.D., Joan of Arcadia, and an episode of Buffy the Vampire Slayer. This Flash casting actually isn't Miller's first visit to the DC universe. Miller voiced the role of Slade Wilson/Deathstroke in an episode of Cartoon Network's animated series Young Justice.

So what will Leonard Snart be up to in Central City? Based on what we know of Captain Cold from the DC universe, it seems likely that he's poised to be a villain, or an antagonist at the very least. If Miller's character really is -- or will become -- Captain Cold, his powers include a freeze gun that allows him to freeze objects to absolute zero and -- uh-oh -- the ability to slow the Flash down. It certainly sounds like he's the perfect nemesis for Flash.

Spinning off of CW's popular Arrow series, The Flash stars Grant Gustin as Barry Allen, a scientist who acquires superhuman speed after being zapped in a massive lightning storm. Word of Miller's casting follows confirmation that Stephen Amell's cousin Robbie Amell (The Tomorrow People) has signed on to play (half of) Firestorm. And from what THR reports, it sounds like there's a chance we'll get to meet the other half of Firestorm (Dr. Martin Stein) at some point during the series.

While it's exciting to hear of casting updates for The Flash, especially when they're connected to comic book characters, if Arrow has taught us anything, it's that the TV series follows its own path, so there's no predicting exactly how the show's characters will tie in with the comic books, and how much of the source material will be utilized with the TV show. So it'll be interesting to see how Miller's character fits into the series, and whether or not he proves to be a friend or foe -- maybe a little of both? -- to Barry Allen.

CW has The Flash lined up to air on Tuesday nights, beginning October 7.

Prison Break actor Wentworth Miller has always been a standup guy. Unlike many other Hollywood types who are interested in making any kind of headlines, he’s always preferred to let his work speak for itself. As such, when he wrote the screenplay for the strangely brilliant Stoker, he sold it under a pseudonym so as to properly gauge whether or not he had any real writing talent. Let the record show he does, and if further evidence of either his wonderful, understated personality or his ability with the pen is needed, look no further than the letter he published today on GLAAD’s official website.

Asked to be a guest of honor at the upcoming St Petersburg Film Festival, Miller declined in order to show solidarity with his fellow members of the LGBT community who are actively being discriminated against thanks to a new law that essentially forbids talking positively about or displaying any signs of homosexuality anywhere children could be present. Didn’t know Miller was gay? Neither did pretty much anyone else. He’s never talked about it on the record, but given the situation, he decided to take a stand.

If you’re keeping score at home, that’s one of the most classy and pointful ways I’ve ever seen someone come out. It doesn’t beg for attention. It doesn’t use a world event for personal gain. It doesn’t even go out of its way to attract headlines. It simply says there is a battle for human rights going on, and it’s time I made it clear exactly where I stand.

Miller’s acting career might not be on an upward trajectory right now, but his writing career certainly is. He’s currently working on several different projects, and he’s reportedly been asked to script an upcoming film being produced by Oprah and Tom Hanks. Really, there aren’t any better words to express burgeoning success than that statement of facts.

Though he's been acting for over a decade, and has a significant side career going as a screenwriter, Wentworth Miller is still indelibly associated with a single role: crusading brother Michael Scofield on Prison Break. That may be about to change, though, as Miller takes on his first major role in a feature film, playing Chris Redfield in Resident Evil: Afterlife. Though Chris is a major character in the video game series he's making his first appearance in the movies after four films, reuniting with his sister Claire (Ali Larter) and teaming up with her and Milla Jovovich's Alice on their journey to take down the Umbrella Corporation.

I caught up with Miller at a roundtable interview at this year's Comic Con, where we pestered him for details about jumping on to a franchise like Resident Evil, familiarizing himself with the franchise's history after never playing video games, and why you ought to care about their characters even with all the crazy action going on around them. Tell us about your role in the film.

Well, I'm playing Chris Redfield. Obviously he's central to the video game from the beginning, but this is his introduction into the movie version of Resident Evil It was a challenge preparing for the part. I wanted to do my research and see what the fan expectation might be, and respect what was already out there in terms of mythology and history. This thing is pretty far down the track, and my job is to jump on and become a seamless part of that larger whole. I like to think that with all of those varying influences, I did my best.

If you're Claire's brother, why didn't she come back and get you in the last movie?

That's an excellent question. There is a reunion of sorts between the two in this movie. What I like about the Chris and Claire Redfield dynamic, and what I think bring something new to the table, is that they are siblings. It's a family relationship. It's something people sitting in the audience can easily identify with. The movie was special effects and zombies out the wazoo, it's an amazing fireworks display. At the same time, if you don't care about the characters, then when something horrible happens to them, it doesn't really resonate. So it was important to flesh out the characters and the relationship between Chris and Claire, for example, to give extra weight to the special effects smorgasbord.

Zombies are an it thing in pop culture right now. Why do you think the zombie is such a great source for fiction and horror?

I think there's something about evil that is thoughtless and relentless that is incredibly frightening, because it can't be reckoned with or reasoned with or stopped. That onslaught of terror, I think, speaks to our darkest fears, that evil is coming for us and there's nothing we can do.

When you become part of something like this, do you go back to the video game for background, or do you treat the movie by itself?

It was a combination of both. I asked the producers to put together a montage of the most significant events from the video games that related to my characters' personal history, so I could get where he came from. I was struck by how, at least in the earlier video games, how bright-eyed and bushy-tailed he seemed. Someone who is at the start of a horrific journey. When you meet him in the movie, he's many miles down that road. He's a very different person with a different vibe to him.

How was the transition being the new guy amongst this cast and crew?

It was fairly seamless. They're a great crew to work with, and there's obviously a significant and complex bedrock that Paul and Milla have created together. Paul built the car, Milla's driving it, and the rest of us are riding shotgun. It was just a chance to hop onboard and enjoy the breeze in your hair.

Was there a particular action sequence you were really excited about shooting?

Oh yeah. The tango between Chris, Claire and Wesker at the end of the movie was inspired directly by what you see in the video game. It's incredibly difficult and complex to choreograph, because you have three people going at it at the same time, but really satisfying to shoot. I think it will be maybe one of the highlights of the movie.

Did the shooting in 3D provide any specific challenges in that sequence?

Yeah, it's a lot harder to cheat the audience in 3D. The camera, it's basically as if it can see around corners. If you throw a punch at someone's face and you don't connect, and of course you never would because it's choreographed-- they can see that. They can see the miss. It challenges us to step up our game and sell these sequences to the audience.
